"Excellent service, great location."

12/11/2018

My husband and I stayed for a night. We were very satisfied with rooms and service. The location of the hotel is great - a short drive from historic St. Augustine and steps from the beach! Employees at the hotel are outstanding: welcoming, professional, effective, and courteous. We would highly recommend this place.

AliT3675, Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thank you so much for staying with us and leaving the amazing feedback. We are very happy you felt welcomed by our friendly staff and enjoyed our excellent location close to the beach and great restaurants. We hope to see you again the next time you're in the area.

"Location & Staff are great-everything else, just OK"

31/10/2018

The location of this hotel is great-right across the street from the beach, and the staff was also wonderful during our stay. However, while the rooms seem updated and modern, the cleanliness here is lacking. I am not sure the last time the rooms were truly deep-cleaned. I almost wonder if they literally just change the sheets and trash before a new customer comes in, and that's it. Again, great location and staff, but it just didn't feel clean like it should. The clock was broken on both the alarm clock and the microwave, so glad we had phones to see the time. Breakfast was OK-don't expect much. There are some good places in walking distance to get bfast as well. Not sure I would stay again, but it wasn't horrible.

AliT3675, General Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review

"Fantastic Place"

30/10/2018

Stayed at this Best Western with my husband. We loved the location...right across the street from the bay and within walking distance of everything. Loved the staff who were very helpful with attraction tickets and restaurant recommendations. Clean, quiet, and right on the trolley route. Great place to stay.

AliT3675, General Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thank you so much for choosing us. We are very happy you enjoyed our friendly staff and excellent location near the beach and great restaurants. We also appreciate your feedback and we hope to see you again soon!

"Very Nice “Motel”"

16/10/2018

Best Western has improved over the years, and this Motel is a good example. (If I drive and park in front of my room, I consider it a Motel) This BW was nicely remodeled and clean. Our king bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. The pool area was surrounded by tall palm trees; but the pool water was too cold and the hot-tub was too hot. (My only complaint on this trip). We did a lot of driving and have a few tips: There is very little to do south of the Motel. We found all our great activities north of the Motel. St. Augustine was fantastic and we had dinner each night at 4 wonderful locations: Caps was our favorite, The A1A Restaurant was Great, we enjoyed the Salt Life Bar and loved the views at Beaches' Bar.

AliT3675, General Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
HI Kevin We are grateful for your beautiful comments about the hotel. It is nice to hear that you found the location to be convenient for your needs and that you have enjoyed your room and the great selection at breakfast. We certainly look forward to your next visit in lovely Nice! Warm Regards, ALi Tirmizy

"GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY (CLEAN!)"

14/10/2018

Just returned from 3 night stay. Great value! Good size modern room. Room was very clean. Very comfortable beds. No carpet in room which was one of the reasons I chose this hotel . You don't get that musty carpet smell that is sometimes unavoidable in humid climates and I just get easily grossed out by carpets in hotels. AC works GREAT!! Nice small pool and hot tub . Always free coffee in lobby as well as coffee maker and refrig in room. Small complimentary breakfast buffet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Felt very safe. Close to beach less than 5 minute walk. You do have to cross hwy A1A but it wasn't that bad or dangerous. Just waited until no cars (although October may be slower time of year, especially during the week. We left Saturday morning and hotel lot was much fuller- it was 1/2 empty mid week) Very close to downtown( no more that 15 minutes-maybe a little less) Debated staying closer to town but I was glad I made the right choice to stay near the beach. We would definitely stay here again!

AliT3675, General Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
HI It is such a pleasure to hear that you had a great time in our company and that the hotel was very convenient to your needs. We hope to see you on your next visit in Nice. Thanks ALi

02/10/2018

Checked in mid afternoon on a Saturday. The staff was very friendly and full of helpful information. He told us all about the bus schedule to Downtown Savannah and a few restaurants that he enjoyed. The room was very clean and the beds were soft and pillows were great. The bathroom has a pocket door you can close for more privacy. The shower was hot and we had plenty of clean towels. The refrigerator and microwave worked great. The breakfast was really good, biscuits, sausage, eggs, gravy, cereal, waffles, and plenty more. The pool was clean and the hot tub was very nice after a long day walking around. The Beach is less then a 5 minute walk. straight across the street and down the walkway straight to it. I will definitely be back here!!!

AliT3675, General Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review

25/09/2018

Staff was very friendly, room was very clean, very close to the beach. Within walking distance to restaurants. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Thanks to Grace in the front office for her help and tips on where to eat and visit while we were in the downtown area. No safe in room but it is offered at the front desk. Parking is tight, especially for bigger vehicles and very limited

AliT3675, General Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review

24/09/2018

Nice hotel - very modern room. Typically Best Western with parking lot infront of the rooms. Room had a cozy bed and brilliant WiFi. Hotels offers an outdoor pool, which we did not use. Save is available on room. Beach is 3min foodwalk away. Would book again

"Excellent value for the price"

23/09/2018

My husband and I decided at the last minute to take an overnight trip to St. Augustine from our home in Jacksonville. We found that this hotel had everything we were looking for and the price was right! Loved the location of the room! It was on the first floor right next to the pool! We checked in and immediately hit the pool! The water was perfect! After a wonderful dinner at The Llama Restaurant we came back and went for a moonlit swim followed by a walk on the beach which was just acoss the road. The room was decorated with a very beachy theme which we loved! It was the perfect end of week get away!

"Nice hotel, with good location and value "

16/09/2018

We stayed a single night on an extended summer road trip with our 2 boys 14 and 11. I wish we had more time here as it was a very nice budget hotel only a block away from St. Augustine beach and 10 minute drive to Historic St. Augustine. The pool was nice and the boys enjoyed it thoroughly. Will stay again when I return to St. Augustine.

"Excellent stay!"

5
15/09/2018

My husband and adult son visited St. Augustine for vacation. I had reserved two rooms and requested we be near each other. At the day we were suppose to arrive, I realized I neglected to also request first floor. I called the hotel while we were driving and asked if any first floor rooms were available and they said yes they had one only but upon check-in two were available and we were very happy that we were right next to each other. Great service!

"Weekend getaway "

4
02/09/2018

First off Best Western offers a great military/veteran discount and my family and I appreciated that very much! We stayed in room 106 and it appeared to be newly remodeled. The room was in good condition, had comfy beds, and clean bathroom. Our only complaints were with the water pressure in the shower and there wasn't very much parking. Very nice staff at the front desk and nice pool area. Great price and good stay! We would definitely consider staying here again.

"Birthday weekend"

31/08/2018

Stayed here for a birthday weekend. Hotel was very nice. Staff very nice. It was a short drive into old Saint Augustine to explore. Only a two minute walk to beach and ice cream. Several nice restaurants close bye.

27/08/2018

The renovations made everything look new, the staff were great, but the smell of mold ruined our stay. They said the beach was a three minutes walk away, well....if you're 10 and can run there maybe but at our age it was quite a walk. They did serve a very nice breakfast.

Front Desk B, General Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for staying with us and enjoyed staying with us, we have 24 hrs front desk open for your convenience. Free Breakfast and WiFi.

"Great hotel"

20/08/2018

This was a great hotel to stay at. Beautiful rooms freshly remodeled. First time I stayed at a here that did not have carpet. It felt very clean. Everything was very neat and clean Good value Everything was perfect until breakfast. The only thing I can say is maybe they should rethink serving breakfast it was terrible it made me sick the omelets tasted as if they had sat around for days. There was no room to hardly move in the breakfast area and it was just my wife and I. I write a lot of reviews as I travel a lot this one was a tough one hate having to write a bad review I hope they fix there breakfast issues

Front Desk B, Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review

"Very nice, clean, modern rooms"

19/08/2018

My husband & I just returned from a two night stay - we attended a concert at the Amphitheater. We were very impressed and pleased with the modern and clean rooms. The decor was outstanding, even in the bathroom. Shower was great. Cleaning woman that we met was very nice. Check in was smooth and easy. Woman at desk offered us 3 room locations. We thought this was outstanding. This hotel is across the street from the beach, and within walking distance of restaurants. Very convenient to the Amphitheater. Parking is a little tight at the hotel, but we did find a parking space each time we left. Just mentioning a few things that could have made our stay better . . we intended to lounge around the pool for a few hours - didn't happen. The pool was cloudy; it wasn't sparkly or clean looking Friday or Saturday. That was a NO for us. The door to our room stuck, we thought it was our key, but it was the door - it took 3-4 tries before we could get it to open. The breakfast area where drinks, etc. was small. The tables and chairs in the seating area were jammed in there. The breakfast was just up to par the day we were there. I guess if you like gravy and biscuits, then it is great. We did eat cereal and the coffee was good. It seems most offered was pre-made. However, we would probably stay there again.

Originally we planned on driving home to Orlando after the day but we were tired and decided to stay the night and drive home in the morning. We were worried we wouldn't be able to find a room but we were in luck. The staff was great and quick to help with any problems. The room seemed to be recently renovated. Will absolutely stay here again when we come back to St. Augustine.

This hotel is truly only a few walking minutes from the beach. The staff was very helpful and made us feel welcome from start to finish. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back

Front desk: Superb. Room: Immaculate. Breakfast: Delicious. We loved it there so much we stayed an extra day. Right across the road from the beach and convenient to all the in-town attractions. 28/07/2018

Truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms are super comfortable and very spacious. The room and bathroom were both clean. The beds were extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows for a good night sleep. Location is key, the beach is literally right across the street from the beaches. You have a long strip of beaches right in front of you. The staff is very attentive and will help with directions, suggestions and anything else you may need. The daily breakfast was very tasty and they offered a variety of choices which made it easy even for the most pickiest of eaters. We did not use the pool but it was available to about 10PM. We enjoyed our stay and if we come back to the area will absolutely use this hotel again.

"Great location"

5
25/07/2018

Hotel is right across from the beach. The rooms are freshly updated with new paint and new furniture. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. About 20 minutes from downtown historic Saint Augustine though! Although breakfast is free, it was nowhere near what I expected. They ran out of food quite frequently and the eat in area is TINY. The walls are super thin so if you're traveling with kids, this may be an issue for noise complaints. I was stacked between two families and had problems sleeping. Overall, my stay was good. I would be back.

Front Desk B, General Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review

I am really starting to like the folks at Best Westren. My wife and I have joined them as rewards members and have stayed with them at every hotel stay on our vacation. This property has a gorgeous exterior. The outdoor pool and hot tub were enjoyable. The entire staff was courteous and friendly. Especially Vin & Victoria, they helped us out numerous times. Rooms were clean and updated. Breakfast bar was nice, I am finding out that most Best Western properties do have soy milk available upon request for any vegans traveling with you, this property included. This location is also in realistic walking distance to the beach, a walking trail, restaurants & a few stores. Overall the entire family enjoyed themselves here. St Augustine is a very beautiful and relaxed beach town, with that distinctive “Island “ feel to it.

Front Desk B, General Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review

"Long weekend get away"

06/07/2018

Typical motel at the beach, not enough hot water at peak times. Overly crowded, very small parking lot with not enough spots. (front desk had guests parking in handicap spots?) we had to park on opposite side of the building from our room once. Door to the room was so hard to open and close you had to kick it. "free" breakfast was blah. Breakfast room was cramped and hot. Not a great way to start the day. Looks like they were just finishing with a remodeling so the room was OK. Horrible....... No. Will we stay there on our next visit to our nation's oldest city....... No, too many other choices.

Front Desk B, General Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
I apologized you have not enjoyed your stay , but we are proud of our newly renovated rooms and got great reviews all our guests. Due to weather conditions we have to constantly work with improvement in the building. Parking is available for one car each room but its not designated with room numbers. Breakfast area has enough seating as per brand standards for 50 room hotel with 2 air conditioner and central air conditioner guests always turn them off because they feel cold Breakfast timing is 6 am till 10 am sometime everyone comes at the same hour and get crowded. Again we apologize for the inconvenience but we are no 1 branded property at ST.Augustine Beach.

Nicely updated! Tile floors, Great lighting , nice bath. Hot breakfast was good and there was a nice selection of breads, cereals as well. Just returned from our 5 night stay at Best Western St. Augustine Beach with my daughter and two grandchildren ages 10 & 12. Check in was fast & easy, rooms were very clean, decent size with mini fridge & microwave. Beds were very comfortable & free morning breakfast was good with a large selection. There are many restaurants within walking distance or a short drive from the motel. We purchased tickets for Historic tours of America trolley for downtown historic area. This was a great price, with a shuttle picking us up at the motel & bringing us back each afternoon, definitely a stress free way to see the sights! We are looking forward to our next visit!

"Short walk to the beach"

04/06/2018

Pros: The staff at the front desk was super nice with each encounter. The aesthetics of the room renovations were very modern. Breakfast was great and the short walk to the beach was convenient. Cons: parking was tight at times and the walls seemed very thin and noise from other rooms was frequently heard. My main complaint was house keeping. The first afternoon upon entrance I noticed that the platform from bed was filthy around the mattress. The sheets were clean, but they were tucked under the mattress, thus touching the dirty platform. There was thick dust on the lamp shade and hair on the bathroom floor. One day we had tracked sand into the room from the beach and houskeeping left the sand on the floor which is not only dirty, but also a fall hazard on the hard floors. Overall our stay was enjoyable, but the housekeeping could use some fine tuning

Front Desk B, Front Office Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thank you very much for staying with us. I would like to apologize for the condition of the room. We have met with our staff and instructed them to take immediate action regarding this issue. We decided to stay close to the beach side on this trip. The hotel has a decent rate. The cleanliness of the room can be improved and additional parking would be great, as it was challenging to find parking for whatever reason. Overall, it was decent.

Very good accommodations, very good breakfast food, and great customer service. Bed was very comfortable and rooms are very nice and renovated. I would recommend this Inn to travelers going to St. Augustine. Close to all main attractions. Great stay.

"Best Vacation Ever"

21/05/2018

From the day we arrived till the day we departed we had the most wonderful vacation ever.. The staff was fabulous, the breakfast was great, the pool was wonderful and the place was quiet..You are 1 block from the ocean and do have to cross a road but with minimal traffic and at each crosswalk they have orange flags that you pick up so the drivers will know you are crossing.Close to Restaurants, ice cream shop, burger joint and about 1 mile south a Publix grocery store and also more places to grab some fast food.. Approx. 5 miles to downtown St.Augustine and here is a tip. If you have a Handicap tag or sticker ask where you can park for free because it will save you some money..

16/05/2018

This hotel is close to the beach, basically across from it. Staff were friendly, kind, helpful, especially Vin. But all were great. Cost was reasonable. Parking is a little tight, but was Ok. Pool was the coldest pool I ever felt in florida!, but there is a spa too. Pool appeared clean, spa looked a little dirty. Breakfast was nice, great options! Waffle maker, assorted juices, different type of egg every day hard boiled, (scrambled, cheesy, fried?) Different meat every day-Bacon, sausage links, sausage patties, potatoes,Bagels, toast, muffins, biscuits, yogurt, coffee, cereal, fruit. Just great options. My room was nicely remodeled and was comfortable and seemed clean. Has small refrigerator (no freezer), microwave, single cup coffee maker. I would have given 4 stars, but....there appeared to be an old/current leak on my ceiling. Like it looked like it was painted over, but yet looked a little fresh even though it didn't feel wet. One of the reading lights above bed did not work. Air freshener was overwhelming upon arrival, and not sure why they spray it on the sheets? Like I could see/feel some of the spots on the sheets. And I wouldn't want that touching me. (Just asked for no room spray the rest of my stay) Inconsistent cleaning from housekeeping. 1st day housekeeping did a great job with the room- was impressed, but took until like 3p to clean it. 2nd day-housekeeping was just Ok. Didn't wipe out tub. Floor didn't feel so clean. 3rd was a little better. Worst reception in our room for wifi/phone service. I don't remember room #, but it was basically catty corner from the main officen all the way in the back 1st floor. (But it was a quiet area! Thankful for that) Overall, I would stay again. Great staff, great breakfast, great location. Maybe they will consider being dog friendly in the future.

Probably the best hotel that I have stayed for at this price. Staff was very kind and the location was perfect. The 2 bedroom we stayed in was absolutely gorgeous and the service was excellent. The only downside was the ONLY mirror in the entire suite for 10 was in the bathroom. They had beach towels and pool towels at the front desk which was a big help. We contacted them for more towels, pillows, and sheets and they were prompt and pleasant. If you are looking for the beach area, this is right across the street. However, if you are looking for downtown St. Augustine, you will have to drive there as thats way to far to walk. Breakfast was pretty good too!

My sister and I meet every Spring and we always go to a different destination. Not this year. We went back to St. Augustine Beach and stayed at the Best Western for a second time - even had our same room!! From check in to check out, our stay was fabulous. Housekeeping was great and Paolo and Clayton were spot on. The Front Desk staff was also very accommodating including Jody, Debra and the GM Ali. Thank you to everyone! We discussed going back next Spring! We shall see??!!

18/04/2018

We stayed here for 2 night.Check in was a breeze..room was lovely and bright and spotless...everything one needed there.Great idea taking away the carpet...especially with the beach across the road. Breakfast was grand but if something ran out you had to ask the girl instead of her automatically checking milk for fridge etc. Plenty of choice and great coffee...thought it would be bedlam trying to get a table but there was space for everyone. Only annoying thing is that on both mornings theerd weren't any towels for the beach. Heaps thrown around the pool and outside rooms..maybe a deposit of $5 should be taken then ppl would return them..I'm sure many get legs and walk.. would love to have stayed longer but didn't have time..will be back

08/04/2018

We stayed at this Best Western during one of the busiest weeks of the year- the first week of April. We booked it very last minute and were pleasantly surprised with how nice this hotel was. Very clean rooms, pretty property with palm trees all around, located a very short walk from the gorgeous beach, nice pool and hot tub. Our 8 yr old daughter loved the pool and we spent most of our days there. Beds were a little small- we had 2 doubles and it was not the most comfortable for my husband and I to sleep in one. I have to say the housekeepers worked incredibly hard- we saw them going from early morning to evening- please be sure to tip these hard working people! Yummy restaurants very located nearby- Salt Life was excellent as was the Sunset Grill. Ice cream shop is located right across the street and Cafe Eleven served good lunches. We LOVED LOVED the Kookaburra cafe down the street- excellent Hot Aussie coffee in the morning. The breakfast at the hotel was decent- I just had an english muffin most days but we are kind of picky and would rather spend a little money and eat out. Hot coffee served around the clock although because it was so busy they ran out several times in the morning. We used the washer/dryer on site which was really nice to have. We took the beach bus to the historic district which was free and pick up was right outside the hotel. Again, it was a busy week so the downtown area was a bit crowded and touristy for us, but still taking the trolley ride around the town to see the sites was fun. Would definitely recommend and may stay again!

So glad I chose this location for our family's stay in St. Augustine. While not beach front was a quick walk across street. Hotel has been updated well. No carpet in rooms. A plus for a beach hotel. Rooms are very modern. Comfortable room and bathroom size. Fridge and microwave in room. Breakfast area is really small. But, is quite adequate. No complaints. Hotel supplies beach towels even! Lots of fun and good restaurants close. Location is great for Historic District and Marina - short drive. Please, check this location out. Great value!

21/03/2018

Avoid rooms 101-104. Noisy air conditioning unit howls all night. You pay through the nose for beach proximity. Nice people work here and good breakfast. Lots of nice details but so noisy in units by pool.

17/03/2018

Loved this place as we got upgraded to a King size suite. Was a bit worried as there wasn't an elevator. However, room 303 was only one flight of stairs to negotiate. The suite had three steps into the door. Obviously not everyone would want to stay in it. The room wasn't that fancy, but it had everything including a kitchen. This would be an excellent place for more than a one day stay. The balcony was gorgeous. We didn't take advantage of sitting out on it as it was chilly. The guy who checked us in was decked out in a suit and looked very professional. It was a great touch. He was also very helpful in answering our questions. We walked about 4 blocks (without crossing the street) to an excellent restaurant, Sunset Grille, a recommendation from the gentleman at the desk. Would definitely stay there again.

07/03/2018

On our way from S. Florida to Atlanta, we decided to divide the drive by stopping in St. Augustine, and being in Florida, we HAD to stay on the beach. We chose Best Western because we are members of their loyalty program. The hotel was recently re-done, and the redo was excellent. Upon arrival, we were given a gift bag by the desk clerk, as appreciation for our loyalty. Our room was spacious and tastefully furnished. The free hot breakfast was a nice plus. There were several restaurants within walking distance. As we go to Atlanta often, this hotel just may become our permanent stopover.

The room were very clean as was all of the outside area. The deal were very helpful from the desk to the wonderful woman in the breakfast area. The breakfast was very good and clean and constantly refilled when something was out. It was a short drive to old town but I would stay here every time I was in the area. 22/01/2018

Beautiful location with a view of the bay, beds were comfortable, desk clerk very friendly, short walk to the fort and right in the historic center. Extremely small bathroom, if you are a large person you will not be able to close the door if you use the toilet, seriously. Tired sticky floors, thin sheets, with a cost on a week nite for two with a small pup of 175.00, the internet price was 125.00 but you add up the taxes and the 25.00 dog fee and it quickly rises. No breakfast. Clean enough though and you can park right at your door. Two stories, we were on the second.

Ali T, Front Office Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Hello, we appreciate the review, but I think you were staying at the Best Western Bayfront. We came for a break from the cold of the Northeast. My bride and I along with her brother had a wonderful stay. The staff was extremely helpful. We arrived very early and they were able to get us settled in our room well before check-in. All the staff seemed to go out of there way to make our stay pleasant. The room was fine and the location to downtown was convenient. While the pool wasn't heated the hot tub was fine even though they were having some issues with the jets. I would recommend staying there and we would stay again if in the area.

06/01/2018

I went into this hotel thinking I was going to get a low quality budget hotel, how I was wrong! This was a very modern looking room, one can tell from first entering that renovations and updates were recently applied. The bathrooms were immaculate, the beds were comfortable and the entire layout of the room was very well thought out and put together. They also do serve a continental breakfast which was also fairly good in comparison with others, I left satisfied with their offerings. The staff is also very helpful and friendly. The only draw back is that some of the rooms have paper thin walls, so sound travels between rooms easily. To avoid this, ask the front desk to put you in a "quiet room", where the walls are thicker. I would definitely return here for future visits to St. Augustine and I highly recommend this hotel to others visiting the area.

The hotel and staff are really great! The location is fantastic if you like the beach, there are many options to eat near and for sure in the historic district. "Low quality for the amount of money I paid"

02/01/2018

When we arrived we had to wait for the room, they were “cleaning” it. The bathroom was dirty. The rug between the bed smelled horrible, we had to take it off so we could sleep. The room was really noisy. There was ants on the furniture. After 10 hours traveling and paying $200 I was expecting much more, at least a clean room.

"Overpriced"

01/01/2018

Room was nice, but nothing special. Seemed to be recently updated inside. Working outside for rewiring. Breakfast was standard fare. AC worked fine. I am sure there are more affordable hotels in the area, especially during winter months when beach access is not desired.

Rented a little room for a "staycation" (we live 30min away) for New Years Eve. Our check-in was quick, all rooms have a wonderful view of the bay, room was clean, surprised to find make-up removing wet wipes in the bathroom along with the typical shampoo/soaps/cream. As we checked out, we were handed a little brown bag with breakfast snacks and they had a pretty nice coffee machine with a nice selection of quick coffees. Although this is a pet friendly Inn, I did not hear any barking :)

Inexpensive hotel with exceptional service, modern & clean rooms and located well for someone who wants to get both the historical town side and the beach side of St. Augustine. My husband and I were impressed and see ourselves staying there again.

Recently remodeled though it seems not by a professional, still the appearance was nice. Toilets need to be replaced and bed was hard, not just firm. Linens were nice, flooring was nice and the bath decor was nice. The room was clean which is most important. Parking was directly in front of room door which was nice. The staff was great. Overall it was a nice place for $86 (AARP) and we will definitely stay there again.

We had a very quiet, very clean, spacious room in this completely up to date hotel. We really enjoyed having the spotlights for reading over our beds. The breakfast was copious and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

On our summer family vacation, we stayed at the Best Western St Augustine beach for 4 days. The location was ideal for us in exploring nearby historic St Augustine and in that it's just a five minute walk to the beach. Set back a bit from A1A in a mostly residential area, the two levels of exterior access rooms are mostly hidden behind a few palms. We stayed in a second floor room near the parking lot. The room was nice with hardwood floors, with a few tiny ants making some appearances. Yuk! The medium sized pool is near the front separated by a fence from the perfect lawn. Continental breakfast is served every morning in a small room near the lobby. The changing food selection was pleasing, but more small ants appearing on the breakfast bar was not. Yuk, again. Around the inn, there was always some sort of masonry repair or room re-modeling going on at one time or another. I suppose that's good to see improvements happening. As check out time was approaching, we were running behind. I requested an additional hour and that was no problem for them without any extra charge. Though the décor is fairly basic, the great service and beach location at Best Western St Augustine Beach contributed to us having a memorable experience.

"Great way to have spent Thanksgiving!"

What an awesome facility! Newly remodeled, very clean and quiet location, convenient access to the city. Tasty breakfast buffet daily, great presentation. A bit small of an area to eat but folks seemed to come and go so didn't notice anyone standing and waiting for an available seat. Just a great place to stay and would do so again in the future!

"Nice, clean hotel."

We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed it overall. The breakfast area is tiny and the pool is not heated, but overall, we enjoyed it. Our room was pretty dark as it overlooked the one area of the hotel that was dark - the hallway. My son fell in the parking lot and broke his arm and the staff were very kind - got us bags for ice, made sure he was ok, etc. I was overcharged, twice, however, because the person at the front desk had not been trained yet...so, that was frustrating. We would stay here again, however...just would bubble wrap our son and double check our statements before we leave to ensure all was ok with the balance due.

For the business I was conducting the hotel was in a excellent location it also allowed me to relax with a pool, hot tub and the beach close by and a variety of excellent and very friendly restaurants close to the hotel.

Stayed at the Best Western Bayfront St. Augustine, Florida for a couple of days for a “girls” getaway. It is perfectly located, across the street from Matanzas River and the Castillo De San Marcos Fort and within walking distance to all the wonderful shops, taverns, and restaurants!!!

Great location, nice facility. Brand new rooms and very comfy across the street and not far from St. Augustine downtown. Restaurants and bars next door. The rooms are nicely decorated and just remodeled. I would recommend this property to anyone coming to this area. Nice price great value.

12/11/2017

We planned to stay a week, but was cut short when I suffered a mini-stroke on the 3rd day. The entire staff showed caring and compassion to me in the hospital and offering constant support to my wife to ease the difficulty. The hotel and room were clean and modern, offering a good value. Can't say enough good things about the staff.... they made you feel like family!

Made a quick stop in St Augustine on our way home to Richmond from Cocoa Beach. Have family and wanted to spend some time with them. This BW is right across from the beach and has recently been renovated. Very pleasant stay the staff was very attentive and helpful. The cleaning staff was on it and I even saw someone cleaning the outdoor knobs on the doors. Very pleasant especially for a quick stay. Will stay again.

Saty was great and room was great. Would have gave Excellent Review but coffee maker took to long to make a cup of coffee and caused lines in small breakfast area. Also ran out of some items an hour before breakfast was over.

"Will definitely stay again"

07/11/2017

This Best Western is very clean and appears newly renovated. I had no problems whatsoever during my stay and thoroughly enjoyed the amenities. I expected a good breakfast having stayed at other BW, but I can't rate the service and offerings highly enough! The staff was very helpful. The hotel is directly across the road from Saint Augustine Beach, just a two minute walk from the lobby. You can't beat the value for this location, plus the service and quality of hotel room.

"Best hot breakfast of any hotel"

06/11/2017

We stayed at the Best Western Seaside this past weekend while visiting St. Augustine and everything was fantastic. Nice clean, modern room with all the amenities. (mini fridge, microwave, alarm clock with USB charger ports and built in outlets, WiFi, coffee, hair dryer, iron and board, etc.) Any of the staff we interacted with were super friendly, helpful and professional. Loved the fact that they had a hot, relaxing jacuzzi to get in at the end of a long day of walking all around St. Augustine. The complimentary hot breakfast in the mornings was the highlight though. Wow! In all my hotel travels I've never come across a better breakfast. Just everything you could possibly think of. Sausage and/or ham, eggs, skillet style potatoes, biscuits and gravy, Belgian waffle maker with your choice of toppings and syrups, including whipped cream; cereals, toast, muffins, granola, fruit, coffee machine offering up an assortment of flavors/styles of coffee, tea, fruit juice, etc.. They outdid themselves. And the location if superb, right across the street from 8th Street, which is one of only two entrances to St. Augustine beach. You can't beat it. This is the place to stay in St. Augustine if you're interested in a mid-level/mid price range beachside hotel with all the standard perks and a friendly and helpful staff. Would absolutely stay again if we were ever back in St. Augustine.

Awesome staff, friendly, warm, helpful. Wonderful breakfast, starts at 6am and goes to 10. They offer waffles, fruit, eggs, sausages, various baked goods, coffee, juice, milk and cereal. Beach bus to and from old town. Nice pool and hot tub. Clean and modern decor. Very beautiful.

01/11/2017

We stayed here to relax before a family wedding. It was great! Friendly staff, clean rooms, good variety of breakfast items. We used the hot tub and it was warm enough for us both. It was quiet around the area, very relaxing! The beds were cushy and we slept too well, we didn't want to get up. Check out was at 11 but my husband wasn't feeling too good so I asked and they gave me a late check out until noon. I will definitely recommend this place!

"Forever our St. Augustine Home!"

28/10/2017

My roommate and I are originally from Orlando, and had decided to take a very necessary getaway. We had decided on St. Augustine, and came across two Best Western locations, unknowingly booking the location outside of the historical area, landing instead in St. Augustine Beach. Although, our 'mistake' wound up being a blessing, because from beginning to end, this experience was outstanding: We arrived to the hotel at around 8:00(pm) and checked in. My roommate was very pleased by the front desk agent, Joanne: she was very sweet, and was eager to assist us in selecting a place for dinner. She offered us coupons to different locations within walking distance, and provided us with a little 'welcome' goody bag full of snacks to keep in our room during our stay. The hotel room was pleasantly modern in decor, and we were greeted by an adorable dog on the bed made from hand-towels. The double-queen room was incredibly spacious and provided multiple pillows on each bed. The beds are adequately comfortable, and allow for a pleasant night's sleep. The television offered full access to DirectTV, with the option of charging movies to the room and paying for them in the final bill from the stay. The hotel is fixed right off the main road that goes through St. Augustine Beach, and the beach itself is a two-minute walk across a residential road that connects to the parking lot of the backside of the hotel. The room is fully equipped with a microwave, a mini-fridge, reading lights above each bed, tons of drawer and counter space, and plenty of outlets for charging phones/devices. The bathroom is separated by a sliding frosted-glass door and provides plenty of lighting and a ventilation fan operated by a switch. The sink space offers more than enough counter space, and comes with a full-sized ironing board, an iron, seven wooden hangers, a complimentary blow-dryer, and a hotel-grade set of toiletries. A perk of this location is that it has a bench for the Old Town Trolley (which I *highly* recommend) directly out front. The front desk provides you with e-tickets, good for 3-days, and a complimentary shuttle picks you up and takes you into the historical district where you are transferred onto the actual trolley (a must for first time visitors!). The hotel also features a full service continental breakfast from 6-10:00(am), and offers snacks, water bottles, and a modern multi-option caffeinated drink/hot chocolate dispenser throughout the day. There is a little fridge that provides hard-boiled eggs, yogurt cups, fruit cups, and milk all day. The continental breakfast offers breakfast meats, such as bacon and sausage, waffle batter and a waffle iron, scrambled eggs, danishes, cinnamon buns, fruits, cereals, and other grab-and-go options during its service hours. The attendant for the breakfast was also endearingly polite and thoughtful, offering to help us with anything we needed. My roommate and I have agreed that this is now our home-away-from-home when in the St. Augustine area. We had attempted to upgrade to the Hampton Inn a few buildings down from this Best Western, but returned immediately after comparing it to our stay at this location and deciding that the upgrade was unnecessary-- this hotel offers exactly what you need for a pleasant getaway.

Very nice hotel, good room and furnishings. Comfortable bed, Breakfast good. Nice pool and hot tub. Very close to beach and local restaurants within walking distance. We had continual problems with TV, remote didn't seem to respond. Front desk replaced batteries in remote but response was still slow to change channels. We gave up in the end.

This hotel is very well kept. The rooms have tasteful decor and still look brand new even though they were renovated a year ago. Excellent location just across the street from the beach, a short walk to all the St. Augustine beach restaurants, and a short drive to the historic downtown. All of the staff were very friendly. I cannot forget to mention their coffee machine...there are probably 10 different types of coffees to choose from-my fav was the cafe latte!

Huge rave for this hotel! We had been working non stop through Hurricane Irma and stayed one night at this awesome little property. The rooms were immaculately clean which I know can be a challenge for beach hotels. All team members we encountered were eager to please and incredibly upbeat and positive despite the hurricane that had just passed through. Special thanks to the GM Sean, the FOM Debra and the entire housekeeping team for providing us a clean and quiet room which aided in the best night sleep after quite a stressful few days! Stay at this hotel- you won't regret it!

Victoria K, Thank you so very much for the amazing review! Sometimes taking time out of our busy day to tell everyone how their stay was can be hard. We always do the best we can with what we have, including working on clean up from hurricanes and try to keep a positive attitude no matter what. I will gladly relay your compliments to our whole staff in regards to your stay! I hope your hurricane clean up went off without a hitch and all is well. Come back soon!

Teresa H, We are so pleased you enjoyed the many great aspects of our hotel! We recently completed a full renovation and they did a great job! I know i love them and truly appreciate the hard work and detail they put into it. Our key position on the beach close to Salt Life, Mango Mangos and Sunset Grille and other great restaurants help our guests stay satisfied and not have to go far for a great meal. We can't wait for you to come back and visit!

The remodeled rooms are lovely. The location is great. It's a short walk to the beach and a short drive to the old city of St Augustine. There is a beach bus that picks you up right outside the hotel to go to the old city if you prefer not to drive. Parking is tight but there was always a spot. The buffet breakfast was not very good. There was no fresh fruit, only fruit cups. We ate there one morning and out the rest of our visit. This was disappointing as I considered this hotel a good value with breakfast included and we had to eat breakfast out most days. The beds were hard as a rock. I could hardly sleep at all the first night we were there. I was able to sleep the next nights out of sheer exhaustion from sightseeing. The bathroom is lacking a towel bar. This was baffling to me since they went through a lot of trouble to do a really nice renovation but there is no place to hang a wet towel?

Vacationer825, We are so pleased you enjoyed your vacation with us at the Best Western Beach Inn. It's hard to pass up a great breakfast and clean facilities while adventuring in the nation's oldest city. My wife and I AWAYS loved this place. (Of course we did honeymooned there.) Best Western as done a fabulous job of remodeling and updating since 2001. In the last 2 years the place has really received a awesome face-lift. The grounds and building are clean and well kept. The rooms well laid out. All the wait-staff is friendly. Trixie with her smile and Jody with a wonderful knowledge of restaurants and attractions at the front desk. Always been a great place for us.

I have had my share of bad experiences at best western, but I had to chance it bc the location and price were exactly what I needed. I was delightfully not let down this time!! The room is exactly as pictured, clean crisp beachy vibe and literally across the street from the beach. Can't beat that package! The hotel staff was friendly and the breakfast was decent and convenient! We took a dip in the pool which is nice but the too many kids. Overall we would definitely stay here again!

Thank you for the nice review. I am glad we were able to exceed your expectations, and that you had a great time while you were here. We stayed here for 3 days. Trixie at the front desk was very helpful. All of the staff in the check in/out area were super nice. The rooms were actually the ones pictured on the website and were very clean. The breakfast was good and when food got low, they were quick to refill it. Visited recently with a rather large group (8 people) and this spot was perfect for us. The king suite we reserved was a great price, and could have fit all 8 of us in it, though we had already reserved two rooms. Everything was clean and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is directly across from the beach, and it's a pretty secluded stretch (at least, it felt like it-maybe it's just a small beach!) so we weren't too crowded despite how busy St. Augustine was last weekend. Will definitely try to come back and get the king suite again at the great price they offer!

We stayed here two nights while in St. Augustine. It is across the street from the beach, but has a handy access to the beach across the street. A very clean and nice hotel. Great beds. Office staff very helpful. Have beach towels to use if you need them. Free continental breakfast with hot food was very good. A handy place to stay to get to the city or other areas. My husband and I stayed here for two nights on our drive back home from Hollywood FL. The city was beautifully decorated for Christmas at the time. St. Augustine is the oldest historic city in the U.S.with quaint Shoppes and restaurants.Guided trolley tours are offered of the city for a fee.The trolleys are not climate controlled( they are open,so it can get quite chilly during the winter months while riding them and hot during the summer.

Microwave and refrigerator are a plus and added comfort to our stay. Breakfast was great with lots of variety, and a pleasant surprise was that cold bottled water was available the whole day in the breakfast area, as well as fresh fruits. It's a short walking distance to the beach. A free shuttle bus is available with the purchase of hop-on-hop-off trolley tickets (tickets are valid for 3 days). Also free parking at two designated spots in the St. Augustine are available if you decide to drive your car and then use the trolley. Publix is located 1.5 miles from the hotel, as well as many places to eat nearby. We didn't use the pool or a hot tub. Pool is very small and usually crowded. Area for improvement – designated spot needs to be added for washing sand off the feet after visiting the beach.

My mother and I have been very happy the last two times we have stayed at this hotel (previous to this visit, once in January 2017). We love the new renovations to the rooms and to the lobby. The staff has been very accommodating and helpful. The hotel manager, Jesse, is always helpful and friendly. The beach access has a nice boardwalk, so you do not have to climb over the dunes to get to the beach. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a quiet, restful vacation (whether solo, couples, or family).

Hotel parking is limited. Everything else is good. One block from beach, Ice cream parlor across street. Public beach with facilities and parking 3 blocks away. Not located near St.Augustine historic district. Quiet surroundings.

27/06/2017

4 women went on a 4 night trip to the beach. The rooms look like the pictures and have recently been remodeled. Very nice sized rooms and big bathrooms! We had two adjoining rooms with two double Queen beds in each. Free breakfast each morning with lots of options. Pool area is a little small for the summer months but we still enjoyed having a pool. Two of the nights we were able to secure a table to play cards and order pizza by the pool. This motel is very convenient to beach access. There is a fairly large fridge in e room and a microwave that we didn't use.

Bob K, Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review

This is by far the best hotel in the area. Great location and wonderful staff. Ask for Jesse (manager) if you have any questions or concerns. He's wonderful. The entire staff is. The recent remodel to the rooms was very attractive. At night is wonderfully quiet.

"Great staff, updated rooms, but disappointed"

2
26/06/2017

Pros: Staff was kind, courteous, and very helpful. Rooms were updated and clean Easy walk to the beach Cons: Not on the beach as lead to believe. A/C did not work properly, we could not leave the bathroom door open as the room would get too hot. Pillows were very small. Rooms somewhat small Dining area for breakfast not sufficient for the number of guests, I would suggest expanding and installing at least two additional waffle irons. Hot Tub not functioning

Bob K, General Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for writing a review of our hotel. I am glad our staff took great care of you, and you enjoyed your room. I am sorry you were lead to believe that we were on the beach. We try to make it very clear when speaking to guests, that we are not oceanfront, as to avoid the disappointment you experienced once you arrived. Please come back and see us again the next time you visit our beautiful area.

The hotel is clean, beds were comfortable and nicely located near the St Augustine Ampitheater and beaches. It is ACROSS from the beach, but crossing was not much of a problem. It is a bit overpriced, but otherwise no complaints. The staff was friendly.

"Noisy and not on the beach"

2
12/06/2017

We were told by BW that the hotel is on the beach. It is not. It is across a very busy street which would be terrible to cross with young children. The walls are too thin. We could hear every word spoken by the family in the next room. That was NOT relaxing. There are no carpets on the floor. The decor is spartan at best. The outside of the building is okay, but there was not ample parking. I would NOT stay here again.

Bob K, General Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our hotel. I would like to apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay with us. I am also sorry you were lead to believe that we were directly on the beach. The beach access is directly across a two lane road(a1a) at the end of 9th st from our property. Thanks again for your review. Sincerely, Bob Kenyon General Manager

We were looking for a nice place to stay near the beach. This had the best reviews on priceline, so we took a chance and booked it. Staff was wonderful, they even offered a late check out. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. We didnt get a chance to use the pool or jacuzzi due to the non stop rain that weekend, but it looked inviting. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

06/06/2017

We only stayed one night but will seriously consider staying there should we decide to visit St. Augustine again. I was concerned it was too far from town but I loved that it was closer to the beach than it was to town. It wasn't far from town at all and much quieter. The room was very nice, the bed was very comfortable and the most important thing, the room was spotless. Don't know what the rooms looked like before the remodel but we thought they did an excellent job. Very inviting. The breakfast was okay. Nothing really special but I didn't leave hungry so that's not a complaint. The only issue we had was no internet. Since we were there for only one night it wasn't really a problem, we had our phones so we didn't bother to find out why. I completed a survey sent to us by BW and mentioned the internet issue and the next day I received an email from Jesse the Assistant General Manager apologizing and explaining the reason for the outage. I was impressed that someone actually took the time to read the responses as well as providing an explanation for the outage. To me, it shows they care about their guests. All of the employees that we came in contact with were friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman at the front desk that checked us in as well as the girl that checked us out. The entire experience made me happy that I chose this motel. I highly recommend this motel if you're looking for somewhere quiet, comfortable and affordable.

Bob K, Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for taking the time to write us such a great review! We are so pleased that we were able to provide a superior guest experience for you during your visit. I will be sure to share this great review with our entire staff. Thanks again, and come back and see us soon!

"Not bad, just not sure I would return"

03/06/2017

It's better than average but not quite very good but I gave it a 4 based on the price we paid for the room, the friendly service at the front desk and the location. The room was nicely decorated and there was plenty of space but the air conditioning unit leaves a lot to be desired. (Noisy and seemed to have a mind of it's own.) The housekeeping was a little hit and miss, one day we returned to a pile of towels just dumped on the bed and nothing else had been done but the next day, a little towel art. Breakfast was perfectly acceptable, not a vast choice but this suited me, it stopped me overloading my plate as usual and leaving the breakfast room with a bulging belly! Bowl of cereal and a fresh orange and I was good to go. The waffle maker is a nice addition too. I would probably try another hotel in the area on returning to St Augustine but if this was the only option I might consider booking again.

Bob K, Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for taking the time to leave us feedback and a review! We really appreciate the kind words in spite of the issues you encountered during your stay with the air conditioning unit and the mixed experiences you had with housekeeping. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your recent stay. I truly hope you will return to stay with us the next time you are in the area so we can provide the unparalleled guest experience that I know we can.

"Great hotel!"

01/06/2017

Clean, updated and a great staff. Across the street from the beach with an Old City shuttle bus stop directly in front of the hotel. Breakfast was great. Parking wasn't bad like other folks commented and wide enough spaces to minimize door dings. The hotel doesn't have a bar or restaurant, but plenty of both easily within walking distance. Unless you're a complete snob, you won't be disappointed!

Bob K, General Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for the great rating and review Chris K! I'm so pleased to hear that you enjoyed our convenient location, complimentary breakfast, free parking, and an old town trolley tour bus stop directly in front of our hotel! We can't thank you enough and we hope to see you again soon!

26/05/2017

Do not stay here, room infested with ants. Rundown hotel in the middle of upgrades which are cheap upgrades. Staff friendly but there are other hotels worth the price difference if your staying in st auggie beach

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our property. I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. I am also sorry you feel our upgrades are cheap. Out of the four hotels I have stayed at in St. Augustine, I believe this hotel gives you the greatest bang for the buck. You are right across the street from the beach and still close to the downtown. Many restaurants to choose form in the area without having to go back over the Bridge of Lions and fighting for a parking spot in Old Town.

Bob K, Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thanks so much for such a great review Cheryl! We really appreciate you taking the time to provide such a great review. We strive incredibly hard to provide this type of experience for each guest each time. Thanks for telling everyone about our great overall value and very convenient location. "clean, central, take guests for granted"

5
23/05/2017

We stayed the night here on our way home from a road trip. We hadn't planned staying here, we had visited St Augustine years ago and found it to be underwhelming an tacky. Have to say that we enjoyed our second time around much better. The hotel we chose was central and clean, nicely appointed. What got me here was the attitude of the front desk, they just "know" they're going to get stragglers who are in need of a room and the attitude shows it. All in all not bad, they need to work on the smugness of the front desk staff, price accordingly to their brand status and all would be well.

Bob K, General Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our property. I am glad you had a great time with us, but I am concerned with the impression you have of our front desk team. I want to assure you that all of our staff is committed to delivering a great guest experience for each and every guest that stays with us. I am truly sorry you were not treated as well as you should have. The next time you are in the area please call me directly at the hotel, and give us one more chance to exceed your expectations. Thanks again for the review. Sincerely, Bob Kenyon General Manager

"Excellent renovation, excellent customer service, perfect for a week getaway to the beach!"

18/05/2017

Such a beautiful renovation done here! From the outside to the inside, very very clean, very presentable, very "beachy" which was awesome. Overall, extremely impressed. The staff here go above and beyond to exceed your expectations and make your stay the best possible. The only complaint, Try not to get an "accessible room" as the showers in the room leak all over the floor every time you shower and makes for quite the mess when you're taking so many shower after the beach and the pool(which was impeccable and little paradise area).

Jesse M, Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for the AMAZING review and rating Tyler! We really appreciate your kind words about our recently updated guest rooms! I will personally be looking into the shower issue you described, so we can prevent that from happening to any future guests but I'm so pleased to hear about your great stay and we hope you'll come back and see us all again soon!

"First stay in St Augustine "

4
17/05/2017

The rooms were very updated, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was nothing to write home about and the parking terrible. If hotel is full and you come in late after dinner, good luck finding a spot. Almost impossible to turn around after you discover there's no parking. No hotel exit in back. If these two things were improved, would be a lot more enjoyable and a great hotel.

Jesse M, Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for the kind review and rating! We appreciate the great compliments about our property! Parking can be tight on weekend days, from time to time but you'll be glad to hear that we are adding an exit to the back parking lot, so we hope you'll come back and see us again soon! Thanks!

14/05/2017

I think they were in such a hurry to renovate they did a poor job. Our grab bar in the shower was loose (reported it). They didn't refill the breakfast area. We got there at 8 am and it was out of items.

Jesse M, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our hotel. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us. I am sorry we were out of items when you joined us for breakfast. 14/05/2017

This is a really good place:staff are very kind and helpful, not rushed or perfunctory. The rooms are good too, what you'd expect . But you are a two minute walk to the Ocean park. That's the selling point if you come here with kids.

"Very nice hotel"

10/05/2017

We enjoyed our stay at the BW in St. Augustine, they have everything you need and the hotel is very close to the beach. parking is a bit of a challenge, the parking lot is not user friendly especially if you park in the back by the pool. There is only one way in and out, that lot gets full quickly and it is difficult to turn around.

Jesse M, Manager at Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for the great rating and review! We're glad to see you enjoyed your recent stay with us -- from the convenient location near the beach and just minutes away from the historic part of the city! Would rather stay at a hole in the wall than this expensive crap hole. Cops constantly at hotel. Small parking lot and horrible breakfast . Please search other hotels first so you are not disappointed like we were

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our hotel. I am sorry you were disappointed with your stay with us. On Saturday afternoon we had a family that needed help with our local enforcement. The unfortunate situation lasted for 2 hours, and was over by 4:00 pm. "Fabulous Stay!"

24/04/2017

I work in a hotel myself, so in reading all of the reviews for hotels in St. Augustine Beach, I chose the Best Western. Beginning with our check in with Trixie and Jesse untit our check out with Trixie, I can't tell you how much we loved the hotel. The rooms are spotless, the staff is so accommodating and just the overall atmosphere of the hotel is fabulous. And housekeeping - just perfect every day (4 night stay). Even tho we try to visit a different destination every year, we are seriously considering going back to St. Augustine next year, and the main reason would be to stay at the Best Western Inn. Thank you all for a fun and relaxing vacation!!

Jesse M, Manager at BEST WESTERN St. Augustine Beach Inn, responded to this review

First time staying here and was very impressed. Recently renovated, great tile floors, furnishings and especially the bath. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. 20/04/2017

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn from March 25 to April 3, 2017. We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is also very clean and well maintained. It is located just across the road from a beautiful beach. There was an issue about the booking, but the manager looked after our concern in a very professional way and the issue was resolved to our satisfaction. Ruth and Ernst Friedel, Canada

20/04/2017

Hotel was nice, rooms are a bit smaller, but clean and updated. Our room was not facing construction area so it was quiet (until a car alarm woke us at 7am). Breakfast was fine in a very crowded space but there was enough variety for a hotel breakfast.

"Room very tired and smelled musty"

Guess we shouldn't have stayed but it was only one night and we didn't want to go to the trouble. They need to renovate and deep clean this hotel and furnishings and get rid of the musty smell. Breakfast had variety but eggs appeared powdered and bacon was wallowing in grease. They are building a road next to it so construction started very early. Many other nicer hotels on this road.

We recently stayed at the Best Western St Augustine Beach Inn. Great hotel with wonderful staff. The breakfast was amazing, lots of choices, always fresh and served from 6 to 10 everyday. Housekeeping did a great job every day, sweeping up the sand we tracked in and thoroughly cleaning our room. Front desk staff was very helpful with restaurant recommendations. They had good knowledge of the area and were patient when we asked questions. Always very pleasant to deal with. Excellent hotel and a great value.

"Great but short stay"

We stayed at this Best Western for one night on our way to Orlando. WE started our trip a day earlier then planned. When calling this hotel, I was glad they had a couple of rooms left and a decent rate. This hotel was great. The room was clean and I was informed that it was remodeled about 6 months ago. The hotel is in a good location, right across from the beach. The front desk staff were very friendly when checking in. My kids enjoyed the pool even though it was about 60 degrees out. The complimentary breakfast had a good selection with waffles, cereal, eggs, sausage. This was our first time in St. Augustine, and I know not our last. I would definitely like to stay at this Best Western again for a bit longer.

My daughter lives in Saint Augustine and I was visiting. She rents a room, she's a Flagler student. We wanted to be near the beach. This was a great central place for us to be near sites, restaurants and shopping.

We loved staying here for two nights. The rooms looked newly remodeled. Very clean and nicely decorated. The front desk staff was very helpful and the breakfast was very good, hot breakfast choices and a really good variety. The pool was freezing even though it was 80 degrees out. The hot tub had a lot of debris and wasn't hot. Those two things were the only reasons I didn't give it a 5 rating. I would highly recommend this hotel. Great location.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights over Thanksgiving when we were visiting relatives. By booking this hotel a long time in advance and using the AARP discount, I got a good rate. Checking back later the rate had gone up a lot. The room was large, with two queen beds, an easy chair with a footstool, a desk and chair, a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge and a microwave. There was a combination shower-tub. The beds were comfortable and there was good wifi service. There was a good breakfast—both hot and cold items. We asked for a quiet room and were placed on the second floor at the rear of the building. No problems or complaints at all.

I try to stay exclusively at Best Western when I travel. Loved, loved, loved this one. Modern, CLEAN and quiet and a block from ocean. No cleaning crew early in morning. It was like walking into a first class cabin on a ship. Everyone and everything about this hotel was first class.

Great beach location. Staff was friendly and check in very easy. Room was decorated professionally and very comfortable. Entire stay was great! Breakfast was not very good however, but not horrible. Otherwise, would definitely stay again and enjoyed ourselves in St Augustine immensely!

"Beautiful renovations, felt like a new hotel"

21/11/2016

My recent stay at this hotel was flawless! I was first impressed by the desk manager, Jesse. He was so friendly and helpful by offering information about the area to help us get the most out of our short stay in St. Augustine. We were all impressed by the room. The new renovations are so fresh and modern! The bathroom especially was clean and perfect. The breakfast was very good. The fruits were fresh, bacon & eggs looked good too. I made myself a waffle dark & crispy. It was great! I want to thank the desk staff for helping me with a problem I had. I left two of my shirts hanging in the clothes rack. When I realized it after I got home, they offered to mail it to me! I appreciate this so much. I enjoyed my visit to St. Augustine & plan to return for a longer visit. When I do, I will stay at this Best Western without a doubt.

The Staff were amazing, They went out of there way to make sure we had everything we needed. I used there dryer to dry my clothes and it blew a fuse and they dried my clothes for free, they gave me a printed copy of direction to Orlando airport, The night manager gave us a wake up call & brought us up fresh coffee and carried our luggage to our car for us. The stay was very nice, the rooms are nothing special and didn't come with a Bible, But the Great service maid up for everything else. You also can walk across the street to the Beach

This BW has a friendly staff, the place is very well maintained and has a very attractive appearance both outdoors and indoors. They serve a nice breakfast and the people taking care of the food kept the place orderly and clean. I definitely recommend this facility.

Having just spent time in a dreadful inn down in Vero beach, this motel was a most pleasant surprise. Totally renovated room, free parking at your door, excellent breakfast and a really low price, what is not to like. Would highly recommend this spot, of all the places we stated in the USA, this was by far the best value.

10/11/2016

The rooms have obviously recently been remodeled and are quite nice. But there was an ocean smell that was relieved by fragrance spray. I wouldn't let this put you off. The price of the room was more than reasonable, just pack some spray. I would have ranked this hotel with 4 stars but there was a hot water issue. I reported it to the front desk but I went a day and a half with lukewarm water. Nice breakfast area. Nice pool area.

Jesse M, Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
I'd like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize for the issue you had with your hot water during your recent stay with us. We have since repaired the issue that was causing that particular room to have the problem. We greatly appreciate both positive and constructive criticism as it lets us know where we need improvement the most. We hope you'll come back and see us next time you're in town.

"Best Staff, Great Room and Close to the Beach"

10/11/2016

Our family of four stayed 2 nights. The staff could not have been more friendly, helpful and pleasant to interact with. The rooms were as nice as the resort we stayed in at Universal and incredibly clean. Would absolutely recommend to family and friends!

"Clean, Comfortable, and Close To The Beach"

07/11/2016

My wife and I booked three nights and were very pleased with our accomodations. Breakfast is included. We had a room with two queen beds. The room was either new or recently renovated. We had a very nice spacious bathroom. There were enough plugs for our phones, laptop, iPad, etc. There is a pool and hot tub. A road to the beach is diagonally across the street. It is about a 5 minute walk. There are several restaurants that are not far by car. We would go back again, if we were in St.Augustine Beach. Parking is a little tight.

"Modern room and great breakfast"

07/11/2016

Stayed one Saturday night. Great customer service in Lobby and room had a modern and attractive remodel. Easy 1/2 block walk to beach. Great breakfast and would stay again. Parking is tight due to a small footprint but beach property is like that.

"Newly renovated "

04/11/2016

I've stayed here over the years just to get away and be at the beach. This trip I was totally surprised that the rooms and hotel have gone thru great upgrades. Rooms are very modern, tile floors thru-out, beautifully decorated. Pool is open til 10 at night, including hot tub. Continental breakfast great to get your day started. Just a short walk across the street, with access to the beach. Not far from the pier area. Will continue to make this my getaway!

"Beautiful rooms, friendly staff"

"Family Beach Trip"

01/11/2016

Planned a weekend trip to the beach with my brother and his family. The hotel let us check in a little early and we changed into our beach clothes and walked one block to the beach. Hotel staff were very nice, the hotel was pretty clean and the rooms were just alright. Free breakfast the next morning was in a tight space and the food was average. It is within walking distance of some restaurants and bars.

"Awesome hotel -close to beach"

the hotel is updated with great style- the staff is wonderful- the 1 bedroom suite is fabulous! The breakfast was very good! It was right across the street from beach - 2 minute walk! Kristina and Jesse are awesome! I had family come from Mass and KY and they all loved it!

"Photos differ from experience"

17/10/2016

Room was very humid, enough that the A/C couldn't get the humidity out, semi disappointed at that. Breakfast we were greeted with friendly staff but almost like vultures in a small area with only minimal food out. We opted for milk and cereal and ate in our room. TV was outdated and the channels didn't come in great. The decent part is the distance to the beach and the price compared to other hotels in the area. We were able to stay for a couple days and let our son visit the beach. We wouldn't return if we had a chance, we would pick another place to stay.

"Great Romantic Place for Our Honeymoon"

10/10/2016

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had booked a king room but were upgraded to a suite. Both of us were blown away by its size. The decor was beautiful. The staff was warm, friendly and helpful. It was very clean and I would highly recommend staying at this hotel. We will stay there again in the future.

"Help during Matthew"

29/09/2016

Booked for 1 night on a Sunday as we could not get in on the Saturday...stayed in a hotel down the road and could not wait to leave. Upon entering the Best Western we fell in love with it. Very clean, modern and beautifully decorated. Lovely room, bathroom and pool and the staff were very accommodating. A few mins walk to the lovely beach. Would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return if i was to come back to St.Augustines.

"GREAT hotel and staff"

28/09/2016

They say the third time's the charm and when looking for a place to stay here that was exactly the way it was. After nothing but problems from the Super 8 hotel down the street, and then being told that even if I pay cash, they'd charge my credit card anyway at the Courtyard by Marriott, I ventured a little further to the Best Western Seaside. Melissa at the front desk has to be one of the best I've dealt with at any hotel. She was courteous and very professional. She checked me in with no problems, adjusted my room rate for AARP, and her caring attitude was the best as she heard I had just put my mother in a Hospice care facility. She offered NO hassle regarding my service dog, and I was put in a spotless and nice size king room. After a restful night sleep, the breakfast offered was just fine. Cheese omelets, cereals, breakfast meats, waffles and more. I had planned on leaving town after being with my mother, however circumstances had me returning once again to the Best Western. Melissa was there again to take my call asking for another night's stay, and had everything ready when I got back to the hotel. It was another nice, restful night, and very quiet. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to be treated correctly, with respect and by professional staff. The morning front desk clerk was the same. Thank you to all of the staff for making a tough return home situation a little easier by providing some of the best service I've dealt with in my travels.

"Pretty good"

19/09/2016

Nice hotel, very modern good breakfast and nice pool. Was almost a 1 mile walk to the ocean unfortunately. Not to bad but not ocean front. Nice hotel for a good price. Staff was a little rude but tolerable.

"Great Location"

4
14/09/2016

The hotel is across the street from the beach access which was not crowded. The stop for the local tour shuttle is in front of the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance of several local restaurants. The breakfast was great. Staff was helpful. The rooms had just been remodeled when we were there. Lots of parking. Safe location.

"A really nice place to stay!"

14/09/2016

Hotel was right across the Rd from the beach. It had a Modern Beach flare. Pier is really close and nice outdoor area for Volleyball. The Pool and hot tub made you feel secluded(Nice). Free Breakfast was the BEST we have had at any BW. Loved the towel art. Loved our stay

"Tropical Storms"

4
06/09/2016

We were fortunate the tropical storm was not bad. Our stay was excellent, the breakfast was great, and the staff was terrific. It's a very short walk to the beautiful beach. I didn't give the hotel a five star because the cigarette receptacle was in front of our room and it smelled.

"SPRING Break with friends"

This hotel was freshly re-modeled..the manager name was debbie and she was super friendly and helpful..the water went out for a couple hours..but she made sure we were kept informed and gave us bottle water..the jakuzzee was broken but after we told the Manager and within an hour some came out to fix it..the breakfast was great..bacon and eggs with lots of fresh choices of fruits and pancakes machine ..we loved our stay. It was across the street from the beach and we enjoyed the beach ..it was convent to hang out at beach..loved the hospitality and was close to lots of restraunts...the room had new beds and our bed broke..the manager came right away and fixed the bed..née dressers and beds..freshly painted room..it was nice room

"Pretty Atmosphere"

3
31/08/2016

Overall it was a nice stay. The hot tub had too many chemicals in it and bleached my suit. Also, the hot water took a while to come on. The atmosphere was beautiful and the location was perfect. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

"Needs serious cleaning."

30/08/2016

The beds and breakfast were fine, but this hotel is not clean. Bathroom, grout, crack and crevices, toilet area tile where all dirty. Hotel also feels old and muggy. I like Hamton Inn, so didn't like having to report badly about them.....

, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
I am sorry that you had a bad stay while in St. Augustine. However we are not a Hampton Inn. I am not certain that you commented on the right hotel. If it was this hotel I am sorry for the issues and would love to hear from you directly to rectify the situation.

"Best Hotel Experience Ever"

5
23/08/2016

We do a fair amount of traveling, and this hotel, is by far, the best experience we have ever had. The staff, in particular Melissa, was exceptional. Every single staff member sincerely greets you with a smile and willingness to go out of their way to assist your needs. We loved everything about this hotel.. location, rooms, breakfast, and pool (which we used a lot with our 12 person group). We would certainly recommend this hotel!

"Nice place"

4
16/08/2016

This was our first visit to this property. We arrived on a Saturday and it was fully booked which made parking difficult. But the rest of the week was fine. The rooms are light in aqua and gray with laminate flooring. Much more pleasant than the dark decor of some places. The rooms are average size equipped with a large bathroom and also a fridge and microwave. The beds were very comfortable. Their breakfast was good with a lot to choose from including hot eggs, sausage and a waffle maker in addition to the normal muffins, cereal, fruit and so forth. It was located on a corner and was only a block away from the beach. It has a small pool. All the staff were great. This is a good choice for a beach trip.

"I recommend this hôtel "

5
14/08/2016

We stayed two nights in this hôtel, choosen by our travel agency. We were in thé beautifull and spacy parental suite. The confort was very good. Employees are great and the hôtel is nice and clean. We have been able to wash our clothes. They also propose à nice breakfast. I recommend this hôtel and hope to come back in a futur trip.

"Clean rooms"

5
12/08/2016

Really impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms. Every day the rooms where spotless with plenty of clean towels and sheets. I really likes the location, it was close to some great restaurants and a short walk to the beach. The staff was very accommodating to all of our needs. The breakfast was above expectations also. Bacon eggs and bagels.

"Extremely accommodating! "

11/08/2016

This hotel provided wonderful service to our family. We traveled with 12 people (3 families.) Each family was very pleased with the front desk staff, breakfast staff and housekeeping, as they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. -Nice breakfast -Short walk to the beach -Pool hours 9:00-10:00 -Quiet hotel We look forward to a return stay!

"Happy in St Augustine"

4
08/08/2016

The hotel's proximity to beach and old St Augustine was a definite positive feature. That combined with the outstanding decor and comfort of the room were the recipe for a pleasant stay. I would instantly recommend this Best Western property to others.

"San Augustine Vacations"

4
02/08/2016

I recommend Best Western, affordable price, sea side location, excellent! Breakfast. The personnel was always there to help and whole facility was good. The rooms are not too big, but they comfortable and clean.

"Don't accept a road-front room!"

3
02/08/2016

This compact hotel is fine - the rooms are clean & modern, the staff are friendly, and the location is good for the beach, though it's smaller than the pictures suggest. BUT the pool is tiny and overlooks the road (so it's noisy and not very relaxing) and the 8-10 rooms at the front suffer badly from road noise and an array of noisy a/c outlets outside. The rooms further back are probably much better, particularly on the upper floor.

"A good value"

4
31/07/2016

Many good points, well done breakfast with sufficient seating, clean rooms with friendly staff, reasonable beach access (cross A1A then about 1/10 mile). Very good location to downtown historic area, about 5 miles. I would have given an excellent rating but for some glaring problems If you have an aversion to cigarette smoke then be aware that it is allowed at the pool area which is small in size, so you cannot avoid it. Also I found the tv service provided by Direct Tv satellite to be confusing with limited channel selection. Most confusing is where they put the wardrobe for hanging clothes, in the bathroom with no door to shield the clothes from the moisture. When we took our showers our hanging clothing would be damp afterward.

"Can't beat Best Western"

4
30/07/2016

We always stay at Best Western when we travel. In fact, we have stayed at this hotel at least 4 times. It is a block from the ocean and a great place to a family to stay. We love St. Augustine and invited two family members to join us on this trip as they had never visited the town before. They absolutely loved it and plan to return again as well.

"Great stay!"

5
29/07/2016

Room was so nicely put together. If you have a child, they fold towels into a dog. Thought that was so cute. Very clean. Staff was great. They got us in a room even though we arrived before check In. They went out of there way to check with house keeping to get us in our room. Fridge was perfect size. Breakfast bar was great! Pool and hot tub. Short walk from the beach.

"Excellent for the $"

4
29/07/2016

Stayed with our 22 year old daughter for 5 nights. It appears the rooms had been updated recently & were fairly spacious with 2 beds, a chair & ottoman, a frig & microwave. Staff was friendly & helpful. A few problems with wifi. Breakfast was more than continental & included fresh fruit. Housekeeping did an excellent job cleaning our room daily & re-stocking towels, etc. Washer & dryer on premises came in handy. Just take detergent & about $4 in quarters for a load to wash & dry. Location is just across the street from the beach & within 10 minutes of the Pier & some decent restaurants. Less than 15 minutes to historic downtown, lighthouse & state park, as well as other attractions. Didn't get a 5 star because of wifi issues, a/c couldn't keep up during the day with keeping the room cool (however, it was in 90s with indexes over 100), & if you can't do stairs, better specify you need ground floor, as no elevator. Imagine that might be a problem for some. Would help if they put towel racks in the bathroom to hang larger bath towels on for drying. Also, I thought the pocket bathroom door was awesome until the first night when someone is in the bathroom & has lights on. Basically, lights up the entire room because it's only frosted, so you can't see in the bathroom but it definitely is like turning on a light in the room!

"Beautiful hotel across from beach. Enjoyed our stay."

4
29/07/2016

Beautiful hotel across from beach, located just down from the pier where they were having an open-air concert one night. As others stated, parking is extremely tight in back so park up front if possible. Room was immaculate and decorated differently than other hotels which was kinda nice. Reading lamps over beds. No carpeting. Pool was wonderful.

"Great location, Great service! Absolutely unbeatable!"

27/07/2016

My wife and I took 2 granddaughters to St. Augustine for a long weekend. It was our granddaughters first trip to Florida, to the Beach and to stay in a hotel. We were thrilled with the location and the accommodations. Spacious, clean rooms. Well appointed. Terrific pool area. Outstanding service. Unbeatable breakfast. We will definitely come back and will recommend to others!

25/07/2016

Great hotel, close to everything, room clean and modern, comfortable beds, service was outstanding. Only complaint was the fridge wasn't working well. Pool was very clean and plenty of comfortable chairs for everyone. Parking was tight after a long night.

"Great Location"

4
24/07/2016

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. Very easy walk to the beach and local restaurants. No carpeting in the rooms, a good idea because of the sand from the beach. The breakfast was well stocked. The typical waffles, but also had eggs & a meat. I would stay again.

My husband and I finished a few days at this hotel in St. Augustine Beach. What a little gem on the best beach! Across the street from the beach. The rooms are renovated in a contemporary style. Super clean and comfortable. It's really a cute Spanish style hotel. Walking distance to a number of shops and restaurants. Great pool! Looks better on the outside than the fancy place across the street!

"Awesome Value & Fresh Look"

4
20/07/2016

This particular BW is on it's way to being a BW+ with a fresh look and newly redesigned rooms. The location is older so you have all the problems that come with older buildings but the maintenance/contractors seem to be in the progress of getting the work done. Carpet has been replaced with LVT flooring which is great because you know you are going to be tracking in sand after the two minute walk from the beach across Beach Blvd. All linens are fresh and white with gray/whitewash colored furniture in clean lines and styling (think Ikea), accent pops of lime green, turquoise, and orange kept to the Florida feel with beachy art prints. The bathroom was larger than we expected and updated with granite counter tops and fresh fixtures. The water pressure was decent coming from a rain style shower head and we never ran out of hot water. We chose this location for a last minute beach trip and stayed 4 to a room (Husband, me, 2 teen girls) with 2 queen beds and were very comfortable after a long day out at the beach or downtown. The a/c is cold and the rooms are fresh and clean. The continental breakfast is a misnomer because there is definitely a better selection than bread and jams. Our morning breakfast choices were: egg omelet with cheese, sausage, bacon, juice, coffee, breads, cereal (hot & cold), milk/almond milk, muffins & danish, fresh fruit, yogurt, and my person favorite....waffles with a myriad of toppings. You may as well just get up and eat at the hotel because you are certainly getting a good breakfast here. After a day on the beach, you can head to the pool which is on the smaller side but wasn't crowded when we went so it was fine. Within walking distance is a great (legit) coffee house where you can get pour-overs or iced coffee at Kookaburra's and they also do savory pies which are great for lunch. Also within walking/skating distance is Opi's for burgers and the Taco Shop which has an amazing invention called the UFO, which is like a crunch wrap on steroids. Rent your surf boards from the Pit right across the street after you fill up on nachos and hit the waves. If you have a 4wheel drive, you can throw your boards in the back of your vehicle and pay $6 bucks to drive on the beach and drop your crew off. If you want to visit downtown, don't bother driving and trying to find parking, just head out to the bus stop in front of the hotel and catch the beach bus to the trolley and spend the day exploring...when you are finished, you get dropped off in front of the hotel for the evening. This Best Western is a great location and has an awesome staff but if you want to know what's what....ask Jesse, he even answered my question of "I wonder what property taxes are around here?" So, why not give it an "Excellent" instead of just "Very Good"? Simply this, they aren't finished with all of their improvements yet and they are still a work in progress. Kudos for being almost there. If you want a quick walk to the beach but don't mind if you can see the ocean from your room, this is an awesome value.

"NICEST HOTEL IN ST AUGUSTINE"

This hotel is super nice and convenient to the beach. The beach is just a short walk across the street but this part of the beat is so beautiful with the sand dunes and no traffic on the beach. The beds are amazing very comfy and clean. The breakfast is yummy and the staff is super nice and helpful. The rooms are very clean and updated. Will definitely stay here again.

"Great stay!"

19/07/2016

We recently stayed here for two nights and the visit was great. I took my two kids (age 6 and 4) and we had a good time. The walk to the beach wasn't too bad. Room was very clean (only thing was the sliding door to the bathroom was broke) and the door to the room was giving us some problems but after we checked out they started work in there so I think that problem will be fixed. The pool are hot tub were ok, the pool was a little hot but that is to expected when the days are into the high 90's. Breakfast was good. The guy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again in the future.

"Good price"

17/07/2016

I have no complaints. The hotel staff were very friendly. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Yes, parking was tight and crowded. There isn't an elevator to the second floors, just stairs so if you don't want to lug your belongings up and down the stairs; you'll want to make sure to request a downstairs room. I think the hotel is in a great location and good price.

"Surprisingly really nice!!!"

17/07/2016

Once we arrived the staff was really welcoming and offered tons of recommendations for restaurants and attractions! We stayed two nights and the service was great! The rooms were very nice and clean and had a hose outside to wash the sand off before entering! The beach is a block away and is located half a mile from sunset grille and mango mangos! The parking is kind of bad throughout the day and night but other than that it was a great experience! I would stay here again if I come back to St. Augustine Beach!

"Beach fun"

Was a very nice stay. The pool was clean, staff friendly, and breakfast was small but all that was needed.Convenient to evetything, the pier is right across the street short ride to downtown. Please keep our beaches clean

Awesome location! The beach is across the street, and it is beautiful! The hotel is newly remodeled and clean. The beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of pillows. The staff is friendly, and the breakfast is great! I would stay here again!

"Great place to stay"

10/07/2016

Recently stayed at this best western. The staff was terrific and were able to provide us two rooms we needed adjoining. I am surprised this is not a best western plus. The rooms were fully upgraded, tastefully done, the beds were terrific. We loved everything about this place and would stay again in a heartbeat. The breakfast room was crowded and small, but the attendant did an excellent job providing hot food refills as needed.

"Very impressive!"

I normally don't leave reviews online, but I have got to give it up for the crew you've got at this hotel! Sure. There were some issues with the pool, but Jesse, at the front desk, was especially helpful and informative! He helped us find a great coffee place, which literally saved our day! He really made my friends and I feel welcome and he more than made up for any inconveniences we encountered. Can't wait to get back down to Saint Augustine!

"Best value of the whole trip!"

One block from the beach; the pool was immaculate, the room was spotless and renovated and quiet. The breakfast area was squeaky clean and the warm foods were warm and fresh. Beds were comfortable, pillows were soft and room was very clean.

06/07/2016

Nice newer hotel with nice pool and clean rooms. Within walking distance of the beach and some restaurants, but certainly not beachfront and no view of the beach. The staff was very nice and friendly.

We appreciate your kind review and while on the property level we try to make sure that everyone knows that we are not directly oceanfront we know there are some booking channels that do not convey that information. Thank you for taking time to let us know about your stay, and we hope that you come see us again if you find yourself in St. Augustine.

"Newly renovated and comfy"

04/07/2016

We came during 4th of July weekend for a little get away and were very pleased with the newly renovated room. It was very luxurious and comfortable. I wish I could say the same for the pool. Sadly the pool was lackluster with a hot tub that smelled of rotten eggs. Also while we were down by the pool we were bombarded by mosquitos. I live in Florida and realize mosquitos are awful but normally resorts and hotels spray for bugs in order to prevent them for feeding on guests. The parking situation was awful as well. Very tight and not enough spots. I would recommend coming on a non holiday weekend, perhaps parking would be better. The breakfast was good and consisted of bagels, English muffins, eggs, sausage, Danishes, muffins, waffles, cereal, yogurt and juice. But a lady insisted on hogging the waffle maker and when another guest complained about this, they did nothing while she continued to make 12 waffles for her entire family. Beach was a quick 3-5 minute walk across A1A.

"updated hotel, very close to the beach and a big breakfest"

02/07/2016

This Best Western hotel was completely updated and looks better then most hotels on A1 Beach rd. The hotel rooms were updated and modern with WIFI. The breakfast was cheese omelettes, bacon, ham, rolls, bread, cereal, waffles ect. I did not expect a breakfast like this at a Best Western. This hotel is across the street from the beach but it is an easy walk. I have 4 kids and going to the beach we carry a lot of stuff so 1st day i drove across the street and dropped everyone off and then waked over. when it was time to leave we packed everything up and walked back to the hotel, it was easier to walk then to drive and unpack. the road A1 Beaches is a slow driving road and cars stop for pedestrians. After the 1st day we walked daily to the beach from the hotel and it was just as if the hotel was on the beach side, distance is small. This hotel is just as good as the more costly hotels on the beach side so save your money.

"Quick get-away"

02/07/2016

Very clean rooms and grounds Curteous staff Decent breakfast area w a great hostess who cooked my waffle because I am disabled and handicapped. HOWEVER!!!!!!! When the bathroom mirror got steamed up..... The word REDRUM was clearly visible on the mirror!!!!! Desk clerk was told and did NOTHING!! Offered NOTHING!!!! Just shrugged his shoulder like oh well!!! I am 64 and my daughter in her 40's slept with her gun right next to her to protect us!!!!

Booked here after reading Trip Advisor. This recently renovated Best Western was far from the best. When we checked in on Saturday front desk person warned us the breakfast area the morning would be packed and to expect lines. Not enough seating in dining area and very cramped serving area. Had to wait for refills on food all week long. Only 1 waffle maker and not much variety. Our first floor room had a broken fridge to start. The room had just finished being remodeled. It was cold and sterile. Grey pergo flooring and grey Formica headboards. Furniture is all Formica. Bed frame is a silver vinyl. Water pressure in shower is terrible. Bathroom ceiling was leaking final night. Front desk gave us towels to put on floor. The pool was dirty. Looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a few days. One positive the air conditioning worked great. Wouldn't stay here again.

"Family Trip to St. Augustine Beach"

27/06/2016

The location of the hotel was perfect...just a short walk to the beach. The hotel staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms are newly remodeled but more attention to cleaning is needed. Breakfast was decent and there was something for everyone. Parking is a nightmare! There is only one way in and one way out. If you're room is located on the pool side, good luck trying to get out if the parking lot is full...terrible! Another deterrent was the designated smoking areas...there aren't any! People walked around with their cigarettes everywhere including the pool area. It's very frustrating and disrespectful to nonsmokers.

"I had an Amazing stay at the BW!!!"

27/06/2016

Me and my husband traveled up to St Augustine for a weekend getaway and we booked the Best Western beach side. The rooms were clean, the towels were bright and white, the bed was the most comfortable and we truly appreciated the refrigerator in the room. Complimentary breakfast was fantastic! The property was well maintained and clean. Parking was tight but it wasn't an issue. The hotel was quiet during the night, no disturbance while you sleep. I would definitely return to the BW when I travel back to St. Augustine.

18/06/2016

We were looking for a low cost night to spend at the beach and visit Historic San Augustine 10 minutes away. Best Western has 3 categories they use to rate their chain, and this one should be rated Plus or maybe even Premier, but isnt. Jesse the Manager was very knowledgeable about where to go in historic area, and very pleasant. Recently updated (nicely) very clean, and great location. Parking a little tight, look for one of spaces at west end of the property. I Recommend highly this hotel.

"Had a few bumps but all addressed"

15/06/2016

Recently renovated but a storm had knocked out some electrical functions that were still being identified - like no phone. Previous occupants stuffed plastic down the tub so it wouldn't drain and hotel handled. Hot tub wasn't hot and bubbly night one but was corrected the next night - which shows there is a very responsive staff! Décor in the rooms nice and modern. Across the street from the beach. We chose to take a cab to/from the old city and it worked well for our short visit. Nice area to stay to be in between the city and the beach!

"Excellent Hotel with amazingly friendly staff"

13/06/2016

This hotel is among this best I've visited. The gentleman that assisted us: Jess McCaleb was great. He made the entire experience so much more. His knowledge of the city helped us to plan our visits to the attractions in the city as well as know the best places dine. We certainly applaud your staff (especially Jesse) and look forward to another visit in the very near future.

This hotel was recently remodeled and was in perfect shape. The hotel is located close to the beach but not on a busy hwy so there was no traffic noise. The hotel staff is very friendly and very helpful. For example, on my departure Jesse at the front desk arranged my next hotel stay in Atlanta Georgia at the best rate and closest to my destination. My room was kept exceptionally clean. The breakfast area is a bit small, but a light breakfast can be made. My trip to St Augustine historic downtown was so much fun and this motel was a perfect place to stay.

"Great Beach Stay"

4
07/06/2016

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It was a few minutes walk to the beach, which we were able to visit almost every day we were staying there. There is a free continental breakfast with a great employee working named Travis. He kept us smiling, each day! The beds and pillows were comfy. The bathroom was nice. Shower had great water pressure. Liked the fact the floors were not rugs, especially after a day at the beach where it was impossible to remove all the sand. However because of that we wished there was a stand by broom or mop or vacuum to remove the sand we dragged in to the room. The pool was nice and the hot tub was the right temperature, however it could use more powerful jets. Also we weren't impressed with the hot tub being unavailable/closed for a day. And the following days it smelled off like rotten eggs or sulfur like. Also, the pool closed at 10pm each night. It would be better if was open until midnight or at least 11pm. You don't hear the people next door to you but you most defiantly can hear people outside. The air conditioner could have had more power and was a little difficult to change the temperature to a lower setting. It looks like hotel has been recently updated or repaired, especially with workers out every morning painting. The rooms look really nice. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again or recommend.

"Not worth the money"

29/05/2016

Checked in and got to room after lugging bags up two flights of stairs. Found toilet lid up and urine/toilet paper in it. Room decor was nice but that was it. Toilet slow and had to call front desk for plunger after first use-minimal paper used. Floors were laminate. After showering the next morning and walking on it my feet were filthy. And the parking is horrendous. Named Seaside Inn but it's across the street from the ocean and you can't see any ocean. Not worth the price!

28/05/2016

What a wonderful stay we had at the Best Western Seaside Inn. The Inn was immaculate, room was large, the hot breakfast very complete and the St. Augustine Beach, only a short walk away, is so beautiful as anyone who has been here knows. What I really want to emphasize is the wonderful staff of the Seaside Inn from Laura, my initial phone contact to Melissa who was a tremendous help in getting me registered for membership rewards to a young man, Jesse, who bent over backwards to return some critical items I left in my room in time for me to take them on my next trip. How proud the Seaside Inn must be of this enthusiastic, polite and helpful young man. Thank you all for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back!!

"Saint Augustine Beach has some very expensive hotels, but this one is very good and reasonably priced."

4
24/05/2016

When you're in Saint Augustine Beach, you're in a resort town on a beautiful beach several miles south of the city of Saint Augustine. Some of the more expensive hotels are on the beach side of the street. This hotel is 50 feet across the street and it's easy to get across the street. In beach resort towns like this, (and I think it's Florida state law), if you want to cross the street, the cars have to stop and let you cross. So walk across the street to the public access walkway and you've saved yourself a hundred dollars a night. If you are rich, it's no big deal, but we had wonderful seafood dinners while we were there that were essentially free because we saved money on this hotel room. The room was clean with tile floors because, everyone who stays there probably goes to the beach and brings sand back. I was so glad that this room did not have carpet on the floor as I don't think they could ever get all the sand out, that is probably tracked in. As it is, they keep the floors clean and you know it's clean. The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. The room had a small refrigerator and a microwave, and that is great since my wife likes her diet cokes cold. The breakfast was good with eggs and cheese, and different cereals. They have a waffle machine which I used along with butter and maple syrup. Front desk staff, particularly Debra Darkes was very helpful in referring us to some excellent seafood restaurants, along with an ice cream shop that is great. Be aware that while we were there, we saw the local police regularly patrolling both ends of the main street in Saint Augustine Beach. They seem to be there to make sure there is no speeding in town as there are hundreds of people constantly walking across the street from one end to the other going to and coming from the beach. So the police are there to protect them. Don't speed as I'm sure they will ticket you to get your attention and keep you from killing some child crossing the street.

Front desk personal, especially Melissa, were outstanding. Maintenance employees were hard working. Did not like a mattress truck blocking part of the parking lot entrance. "really surprised"

12/05/2016

When I found out that my secret deal at hotwire is Best Western I was more than worried. Thankfully, the reality was much better than what I could expect. The room was very clean, like a good 4* clean. The girl at the reception - Melissa - was super friendly and extremely professional (once again a good 4* quality). The breakfast was complimentary and for the price I've paid I couldn't ask for more (I usually stay at Hampton Inn and it was pretty much the same quality and choice of food), maybe except a microwave in the breakfast area to heat up milk. So surprisingly my lucky shot was really lucky.

Last week the weather was great . The staff was very friendly. The hotel has the feel of a family owned hotel. It's a little older but remodeled and kept well. Very clean. It's across the street from the beach, and about a 5 minute walk to the fishing pier. There are several restaurants between the hotel and Pier. Pick one with an outside second floor and you'll enjoy the view. This is a perfect time of year to go.

03/05/2016

Hotel is nice, parking can be a nightmare especially for a larger SUV or truck espcially on the back side as you cant circle the building, if it is busy you have to back around with little room for error, two blocks to the ocean but plan on a good sand walk once you get to the access, really cool diner within walking distance. If you are top floor plan on carring your bags up the steps NO ELEVATOR

"Disappointed"

01/05/2016

I am a BW loyalty member and was disappointed to be allocated a room at the bottom of the stairwell for our two night stay. I wished I had gone for one of the two BW in St Augustine. The room had been renovated and was clean, but we found it very dark. The pool was very small, with very little room for the loungers (of which there were only 3) and chairs. The situation was good for the beach and there were restaurants close by but we went into St Augustine to eat. The breakfast was the usual standard Best Western.

The exterior of the hotel is beautiful and the breakfast is pretty good too- but the rooms still need some work . We had a 2 bedroom suite on the 3rd ( no elevator ) the suite was clean and the kitchen was lovely to have but there was only one bathroom in the whole unit and it had no towel racks or a hooks to hang your towel up. The shower was the smallest I've ever seen and no shelf to put your soap and shampoos . The only mirror in the whole suite was in the bathroom . The toilet was small and stained. In addition to the bathroom door not shutting none of the closet doors shut properly within the unit. We had a lovely time but I don't think we will return.

"Housekeeping was very spotty and renovations in progress"

We checked in 4/15/16. Checked out 4/22/16. Location is not bad but you have to go across a busy street to get the block to the beach. Beach is awesome. Weather was great. One asset is the flooring is hard surface, not nasty carpet. Breakfast was substantial w/cheese omelet, sausage, bacon, cereals, waffle maker, juices/coffee, bagels...you name it. Desk staff, Melissa, very friendly and responsive. Breakfast area is rather small, esp when hotel is fairly full. Parking lot is way too tight. They shoe horn spaces in every nook and cranny. Housekeeping was inadequate. They did not touch our room one day. On two additional days they only made the beds halfway and didn't change the bedding. One day they didn't touch the bathroom. I complained twice then on the third time I asked for compensation. They were very prompt in offering to comp my last night. That was nice but the least they could do. I let the first two times slide but it was clear the housekeeping dept didn't give a rat's ugly backside. I was told when I checked out they were short in housekeeping. If that was the case I shouldn't have been seeing the staff sitting on the curb from time to time checking their cellphones and smoking cigarettes. For avg per night during a month like April of $150/night it should be better. The last full day a contractor goes into the room next door and guts it for renovation. It was so loud we had to vacate off property for peace. I enjoyed the stay in St. Augustine overall but the hotel should have been better for that price. If I'm going to deal with lousy housekeeping and renovations I don't expect to pay $150/night. They did not inform me in advance that renovations were in progress.

Nice, clean, friendly, close to beach and attractions. The best grill at the beach is close by (Sunset Grill) and walking distance to the beach is a bonus. Only drawback is that hotel pool is not heated and is chilly!

My sister and I stayed here for one night (04/14/16). We used a coupon from the Florida travel coupon book and got a rate of $99.00 + taxes. This rate was good through Thursdays only. The room (#119) was very nice. The room was large with two queen beds. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The room had a flat screen TV, microwave and small refrigerator. The beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet. My review title says it all.....you walk directly across the street to the path that takes you out onto the beautiful beach. You can't get much closer than that unless you spend $200. or more per night at one of the hotels directly on the beach. We did not use the pool but did go and look at it. The pool was very clean and inviting. The lounge chairs looked comfortable. Beautiful palm trees and landscaping in and around the pool area. The pool is tucked away on one side of the hotel for privacy. There is a handicap ramp to get into this area. Breakfast offered many choices. The area was kept clean and organized. The area where you sit and eat could be a little larger. There isn't much the hotel can do about this. There is only so much space that could be used for this area. We enjoyed our stay. I will be going back again. Hopefully soon!

Average Best Western. Selected this based on location and price. Probably a 2.5 star hotel -- actually a motel (each room is accessed by an exterior door). My room's bathroom and furniture were updated which I appreciated but bedding and cleanliness were not top-notch. If you want to walk a block to the beach and don't want to pay too much, this will probably work but realize it's 2.5 stars. Check-in clerk was unexpectedly effective, pleasant, welcoming.

Very close to the beautiful beach. Only took a minute to walk across street to beach. Clean large rooms. Loads of choices for breakfast. Close to many restaurants. Price goes up on weekends but still ok compared to other places. Parking a little cramped but that is the case in all of St. Augustine in our opinion. Staff very friendly and efficient.

This hotel has a great location, just across the street from the beach and close to all of the fun of St. Augustine Beach. It seems to be very newly remodeled, the rooms don;t have wall to wall carpet, they have laminate flooring which feels far more sanitary than mystery carpet. Great stay at a great price!

02/04/2016

If you don't mind a short walk to the beach, this location on the St. Augustine Beach Blvd is just right. You are within walking distance of several nice restaurants and also the pier. This property has an older, mature feel about it. There is a nice, small outdoor pool to use. Plus the breakfast was an extra bonus....hot breakfast items, make-your-own waffle or cold cereal, if that is what you prefer. We woke up early every morning, grabbed a cup of coffee, walked to the beach to watch the sun come up and pat the dogs that owners were walking. Then we would head back to our room to wash up for the day and have our breakfast before heading out. A nice place for a vacation.

We stayed 3 nights and the weather was amazing. We were on the 3rd floor and had an ocean view balcony. It was a beautiful view. The kitchenette was nice. They provide dishes, utensils a pot, a pan and even a cutting board. The bed was nice and firm for us. Lots of extra blankets, and pillows. The room was very clean. The pool was chilly and the hot tub was like a luke warm bath. I have one tiny complaint about one of the desk agents but the others positive attitude and helpful manner made up for it. We definitely will be back next year.

This small motor inn has an attractive curb appeal and updated rooms. They have granite counter tops in the bathroom, laminate floors, and tiled baths. Our room had a fridge and a microwave. The beds are on a metal frame that was noisy. The pool is small and the hot tub is not very hot and is not bubbly. The breakfast area is small and can be very crowded. Homemade waffles are good! Unfortunately, the washer was broken and appeared to have been that way for awhile, The hotel is across the street from the beach and there is no crosswalk.

We stayed there 3/28-31/16. Had 2 young teens is us. Location was within walking distance to the beach, places to eat, and a couple souvenir shops. We enjoyed the walks as the weather was beautiful. The pool and hot tub were enjoyed by the kids. Breakfast was great and coffee was available all day long. The young man who kept the breakfast stocked was very friendly and helpful (sorry I didn't get his name). The room was nice and clean. Newly remodeled and in great shape. We enjoyed the Old Time Trolley beach bus pick up right outside the hotel. We never had to drive until we left. We definitely enjoyed our stay! Best vacation we have had in a while

For being across the street from the beach, this is an awesome value. Breakfast is nice in the morning and the pool is quaint but nice (as is the hot tub). Only a short trip from all of the downtown action, but still close to restaurants and bars on the beach.

The staff is her friendly. The rooms have recently been renovated, which is a plus. Really loved the fact they used a laminate flooring instead of carpet, helps with allergies! If your fan of carpet, don't worry they kept an area rug in between the two beds. The breakfast was pretty good, my kids seemed to have no problem finding something to satisfy them. Unfortunately, the area where you select food and beverage is very small and can be difficult to move around. The young man did a wonderful job keeping up on the quickly dismissing supply of food and beverage. The dining area was ok. My daughter enjoyed the pool and did not complain about the temperature. It is walking distance from the beach. Also the Old Time Trolly has a pickup directly in front of the hotel, so no need to drive downtown St. Augustine unless you decide to stay late, but even with that you can use taxi service. So now on the down side, the hotel was temporarily out of water, due to a water main break down the road (not their fault), management dealt with this well, she informed all pratrons in the dining area and attempted to call all rooms to notify them of situation and if that didn't work they were going to each guest room( glad I showered before bed)! I went to do laundry and it was out of commission, dislike going home with dirty laundry! Next, a house keeper was cutting corners, when I pulled down the sheets someone left their sock behind! I called the front desk, and Jon apologized for it and immediately brought up fresh bedding. The housekeeping manager was also very apologetic about situation and assured me she would check schedule and deal with the problem (begin in management I understand you don't always have control of what an employee does and can't fix something if we don't know about it!) Overall I was satisfied with our stay and will most likely stay their again. Beside the few issues makes good conversation and memories for the kids! The cost was reasonable as well.

Dear Brenda M: Thank you for the nice review, I gladly take the good and the bad, if we do not know that there is a problem we can not fix it. We wanted something reasonably priced, walking distance to everything, and this was it. Hotel is being renovated, so we were advised to ask for first floor since those rooms are done. We did and they were happy to accommodate. Rooms were clean and modern. Love the laminate floors! (can't stand carpetting in hotels by the beach) Bathroom clean and modern. 5 minute walk to beach, ice cream shops, and the best reataurants you can imagine. Also from the hotel is about a 20 minute beach walk to the pier. Pool was clean, but pool area could use more lounge seating- but no room for more. WE WILL BE BACK, as we loved the location and cleam rooms.

The Sea-Side Best Western was a nice hotel that was a short walk to the beach. If you like to walk on the beach, it was also a longer walk and you where in the State Park's beach. The Motel is getting ready to replace the beds in the rooms, however we found the beds to still be very good. Prices where high, I guess the time of year, and events going on controls that. Some real good places to eat, really liked the Sun Set Grill.

05/03/2016

We just came home from our 7 night stay at the Best Western Seaside Inn location. I would recommend anyone to go here, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel and rooms are very clean and have everything you need. I wasn't aware when I booked at the last min. that there was no elevator (only 3 floors), my husband walks with a cane. However, he would have been able to handle the stairs if he had too. Our room happened to be on the ground level which was nice because we could park right in front of our room. We never used the pool but saw that it was clean and well kept. They serve continental breakfast which is standard. I was worried that we couldn't hear the ocean since we were across the street, BUT its less than a 5min walk to the beach across the street literally. Biggest issue we had was the fact that the hotel room door had to be shoulder bumped in order to open it everytime as well as the bathroom door. I would stay here again, the location cant be beat and very reasonable prices as well as the area is very safe.

Our reservation was messed up. Booking through the internet is usually easy but not this time. We got there to find our reservation was for the week before and already charged. 25/02/2016

Stayed here 3 nights while vacationing in St. Augustine. The hotel fits well with the Spanish history because it kind has that look of a Spanish villa. Close to the beach, but there's no beach view from the hotel. The staff was very friendly, and the rooms were comfortable. I loved the chair with foot stool, so nice for putting your feet up after a long day. The breakfast area was a little small but workable. Hot breakfast included eggs, bacon or sausage, biscuits & gravy, waffles. We were very happy with the hotel except for a couple things. The parking lot is very small, and if you get to the hotel after 8pm, good luck finding a spot. Housekeeping was excellent except for one day where it looked like the maid didn't even 5 minutes in our room. The bed wasn't made, the towels were just thrown on the counter, and I don't think they emptied the garbage that day either.

"Great location"

24/02/2016

We normally stay in another hotel, but it was booked, so we stayed at this Best Western. Honestly, we will be staying here in the future instead of the other place. This Best Western is in the middle of renovation. We had one of the "new" rooms. It is very pretty and the bed was very comfortable. The only thing I didn't like is the type of office chair they have at the desk. The floors are tile or something, so the chair keeps sliding away for the desk while you're sitting in it. Otherwise, the work they've done is very nice. They have a pool and hot tub, but we didn't have time to try either so I can't review them. It is basically across the street from the beach. A short walk but worth it. The breakfast is typical hotel continental breakfast, but Travis does a great job of keeping everything filled so you can have what you want without waiting. (He is also very friendly) There aren't too many table, but we never had to wait to eat. We stayed 2 night, and like I said, we will be back.

20/02/2016

Room was clean and we liked the non-carpeted floors. Three of three front desk people we spoke with were friendly and helpful. The thing we didn't like was paper thin walls both inside and out. Neighbors next to us were not loud at all but we could still hear their conversations. Could hear anything going on outside. Fortunately we have a sound machine app that allowed us to sleep without hearing everything going on around us Only other thing was that our used towels were not taken and replaced. We asked for replacements but it didn't happen. Best thing about the room was a fabulous shower...I want one for home! Location is great for exploring St Augustine Beach or the city. Right across street from lovely beach.

We stayed at this location for two nights and its location is great. We were visiting to see the sights of St Augustine but wanted to be near the beach so we could do some beach walking. Room has been updated and is well furnished and comfortable. It is a short walk across the street and down a path to ocean access with miles of beautiful beach to explore. 02/02/2016

Stayed 2 nights at this motel not hotel, as your room exited outside on to a common landing overlooking the car park, which was quite noisy first thing in the morning as people went about there business. The check in staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room was bright and colourful consisting of 2 queen beds with clean fresh linen and fridge, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities but no lock box/safe. The bathroom had a bath with shower with adequate clean fresh towels though strangely the hanging space for clothes was a rack open in the bathroom. The breakfast was fairly basic, but set us up well for the day and again the staff were helpful. Free wifi and parking were available. Reasonable value for money and would use again if in the area.

Hello difaJP: I Thank You for choosing our hotel for your needs. I am happy to see that you enjoyed the hotel and my wonderful staff. I am sorry to see that our new bathroom was not totally to your taste. This is an older hotel and to we recently remodeled the bathrooms to include the vanity area and it would be redundant to enclose a closet area. I hope to see you again after all the new furniture and drapes are installed. Thank you again. Marcy Deering. GM

"VERY NICE!!"

28/01/2016

This hotel is both nice looking, and nicely located. The room was clean, the king bed was comfortable, and the staff members were friendly. When we discovered that our microwave was not functioning to the maximum in the evening, the young man at the front desk arranged for a new one to be brought in within a short time. While the breakfast items are pretty much the norm, they were well done and fresh. Were spent the night during the week, rather than on a weekend, and found it to be restful and quiet. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again

What a beautiful view! The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was yummy. It is located very close to the beach which makes it very easy to just walk right down and enjoy the good Florida sun! I will definitely come back!

MarcyDeering, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
Hi Savannah K : You are so right, the view is wonderful from the suite to the ocean. I just wish all of our rooms had a view, unfortunatly we only have 2 suites that have that nice view. But we are so close to the beach that you can smell the ocean. Thank You for the nice review, Please come again. Marcy Deering, General Manager

The rooms are clean, big bathroom, nice linens. We had a burned out headlight and the desk staff directed us to a local repair shop. Helpful with places to eat & places to see. Very friendly & helpful. Only a block to a wide beach. : ) . The hotel was quiet even with remodeling going on. The front desk said to call if there was noise after 8 & they would send them away. But never a problem. They are starting to recycle too. Only suggestions to make it better. Put two chairs with foot stools in the room. The one is nice and there is a desk chair to use. After a full day of sightseeing it's nice to put your feet up.

MarcyDeering, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
Dear Barb N: I was sorry to hear from my staff that you had car issues, but very glad that they had been able to help you with finding the repair shop. I have the friendliest staff on the entire island, Thank You for coming. Marcy Deering, General Manager

Im also a an employee at the Best Western too and is funny how I write a review as a guest haha. First off when I checked in with Ms.Ashley words cannot describe the best service I ever had, she is one of the staff that really sparkles the hotel.and is cute how we became "best western buddies"' and I thank you very much how you were able to take care of my me concerning my reservation and also accomodated in adjoining room not expected nbut thank you cause I do understand whats available or not and yes the hotel is small but beautiful though, very clean, and comfortable is like an oasisin St Augustine to relax. Next, Mr. Jody who is a "night auditor like me" I would love to thank you for your service and how you were able to take care of all my needs in concern of my reservation, also Ms. Melissa I thank you so much too and my family clicked in with u soo fast and also Mr. Travis thank you very much for your service you as a breakfast server I see how you were always filling out every needs of food, drinks, whenever it was running out and as courtesy greetings to others, and offering water. 06/01/2016

This is a quiet and well-run hotel that has recently renovated rooms, an attentive staff and is very clean. This is good for small families wanting to stay at the beach instead of in town when visiting Saint Augustine, or for travelers down the coast who would like to avoid the traffic rush in the city of Saint Augustine. I'm one of those bedbug inspector types, and the room passed with flying colors. My husband liked the mattresses, I felt they were too soft. Difficult to please all. This had a convenient laundry area for all those wet beach towels we made. The complimentary breakfast exceeded our expectations and included a different item each morning.

MarcyDeering, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
Good Morning Pat C: I want to "Thank You" for your candid comments about our hotel and let you know that I have let the entire staff read your comments. I am very happy to see that you really checked out all aspects of the hotel and liked what you saw. Travis is our breakfast host and has gotten many compliments , he is a great staff member. Once again, "Thank You". Marcy Deering, General Manager

this hotel is across from the fantastic beach, and just along the road in walking distance some great places to eat ( and drink ) We will be staying again in 2016 !. Only thing to be aware of is the hot tub !! yes great to relax in but remove any silver rings as they come out black after the chemicals in the tub.

MarcyDeering, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
Hello 45happyeater: Thank You for the great comments about your stay with us here at the Best Western Seaside Inn, Saint Augustine, Fl.. I am happy to see you enjoyed your stay. I must also say about the hot tub: Our hot tub is filled with well water and it comes from underground and goes through a filtration system, but it contains sulfur water and sulfur has a chemical reaction to silver that causes it to tarnish. It will come bright as new with alittle silver polish. Thanks again, Marcy Deering, General Manager

02/01/2016

By no means a 4 or 5 star hotel this hotel still wins points on it's friendly staff, and clean rooms. Looks like the bathrooms have been recently updated and refreshed, although workmanship was not the greatest (toilet loose on flange, tile not installed in the most appealing pattern). Great place if you want something close to the beach, clean and comfortable, but not too expensive

MarcyDeering, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
Dear rhoffmann: I was very pleased to read your comments about your recent stay with us and I want to say "Thank You" for coming, your business means alot to us. As you stated the hotel is going through some renovations and some of the rooms still need work and I assure you when all is completed about Mid-Spring, the rooms will be top notch. In the next few weeks we will have all new furniture and drapes to go with the new floors and bathrooms. There is also some catch up work to be done in some of the rooms that have been renovated. Thank You for your patience with us during this time. Marcy Deering, General Manger

Room appearance was pleasant and modern and appeared recently renovated. Unfortunately, our first floor room was full of sugar ants that were all over our belongings, the towels had stains, and the tub clogged. We opted for another location the following night. no microwave in room, ceiling leaked in bathroom--but rooms have recently been remodeled. Across the street from the beach. Good restaurants nearby. Helpful staff. It would be a great room once the leak is repaired.

MarcyDeering, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
Hello iktomi: I want to "Thank You" for choosing us during your trip to St.Augustine, please do come again. I would like to also apologize for the water leak you had during your stay. It is most unfortunate that you had that problem. The leak was caused from the guest upstairs directly above you overfilling the bathtub and not letting anyone know. Of course had we known we could have at least gotten you out of the room before the water was coming through the ceiling. Thank you for understanding, and please come again. "Good value. Cute and Cozy."

29/12/2015

This is a great little hotel just off the beaten path and across the street from the beach. Considering the holiday season and nearby tourist attraction of downtown St. Augustine, this hotel was a great value. Rooms were clean and very cute. Staff was friendly. Clientele was primarily families and young travelers. I'd stay here again.

"Outdated and not clean"

24/12/2015

This hotel is outdated, we received an updated room which still is considered outdated. The room was not clean there was used soap in our bathroom and red ants that we had to go complain to front desk about. The staff is very friendly

MarcyDeering, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
Hello Lisa: Please let me start with "I am very sorry" I apologize that we did not succeed in making your stay a great one. There is no excuse for having left over soap in your bathroom. The housekeeping staff missed it and I have already spoken with them to make sure that this never happens again. As I explained to you when you where here the ants where a problem because of the recent rain Ants seek dry ground. I have called our pest control company and they came out and sprayed the grounds and the affected area's. As I understand it after the first night you had no other issues with the ants. Once again, please accept my apologies and do come again. Marcy Deering, General Manager

"secure and convenient"

23/12/2015

Although not walking distance, the location is reasonably close to the town centre. We were fortunate that we were allocated a room to the rear which was well away from the busy road. No trouble with noise. The building is showing a few signs of age and could do with age refurbished before too long. As a gel ways in this chain, the breakfast is close to shocking.

We stayed at this hotel for the Diva 5k race. I would stay at this location again. It was within a reasonable walking distance from the start and finish line. The hotel rooms were very clean and I liked the fact that there was no carpet in the rooms.

MarcyDeering, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
Hello Vicki S: Thank You for your most recent stay with us, and Thank You for the great review. We here at Best Western Seaside Inn do take much pride in the fact that our rooms are very clean and that we have the "Friendliest" staff around. "Nice room ... poor parking"

4
22/12/2015

The room was clean and neat. We had a king bed - very comfortable. It was 'roomy' - as in a large space. There was laminate type floor with an area rug in the sitting area. A pocket door separates the sleeping quarters from the bathroom area. What I did not like was the parking area. It is awful! If you have a large vehicle, do not drive to the back of the hotel. There is only one way in and one way out of this place. Large vehicles do not have enough room to turn around ... you have to back out. Also, I left my galaxy charger and when I called I was told it would cost a minimum of $10 to ship. It's cheaper to buy a new one. We are a preferred customer and they don't care.

MarcyDeering, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
Hello LMP: I am very happy to read that you enjoyed the hotel room itself and that the new floors and bathrooms are such a big hit. I am sorry about the parking, yes, it is a problem on the poolside of the hotel. This hotel has very limited parking. As far as the left item of the charger, we do care however, guest leave many, many items in there rooms that they have forgotten when they check out. We as a hotel are not responsible to pay for those items to be returned to our guest. Our policy is that when a guest calls about a lost or forgotten item: we verify if we have actually found it and then we let the guest know our preferred company"Safe Ship" will be contacting them for payment to ship out the items to the guest. I am very sorry if you feel this is not fair or that you feel that we do not care. We appreicate your candor and your comments. Marcy Deering, General Manager

Great location, walk to beach and short drive to historic area. Day front desk was nice and funny at check in but when I wanted to lengthen my stay she wasn't helpful and a bit rude. Wanted to charge way too much and I would have to change rooms. Changed hotels for my last day. Night staff very friendly, Jody was friendly.

MarcyDeering, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
Hello PaddyCbus: Thank you for choosing our hotel for your needs. I am sorry to hear that you felt Melissa was rude. I will speak to her about this. I am also sorry that we could not keep you another night as you wanted, however, You were in a handicapp accessible room and for you to stay another night you would have had to change rooms since that room type was booked for the night you wanted to stay for an incoming reservation. I also understand that they could not honor the rate that you had checked in with because our weekend (Friday and Saturday) rates are much higher and I understand that this sometimes comes as a shock to some guests. Please do come again, we would love to have you back. Marcy Deering, General Manager

22/11/2015

I stayed at the Seaside Inn after a bad experience at a hotel down the road. The hotel is being renovated, the exterior is done as well as the pool area. They both look really nice. The rooms are currently being renovated as well. I received one of the rooms that had not been renovated yet, but it was nice and really clean. I was able to see a couple rooms that were near completion and really impressed with how modern they are going to be! Really nice place, quiet, yet just across A1A from the beach. The staff was exceptional! Everyone was friendly and seemed to want to go out of their way to help with your needs! Breakfast was good as well. I will be back.

Can not beat it for the money. Great location..great breakfast..great staff!!! Pool area is spotless and includes a hot tub. Our room was recently renovated and they did a fantastic job. I read where someone in a previous review had a funny smell in thier room. Please remember that Florida water is full of sulfur. It is what it is. I would have given this hotel 5 stars. But the parking can be a little tricky. It would definitely not keep me from staying again though.

07/11/2015

The room was very clean and nicely decorated. Plenty of towels and good water pressure. The breakfast was quite good with some hot and a good selection of cold items. I loved that there was always coffee available! The pool area and hot tub were not huge but definitely usable and immaculate. The outdoor area is very pretty and nicely illuminated at night. Wifi worked great and the beach was literally just across the road. The desk and breakfast staff were all brilliant. Very helpful and friendly. The only reason I didn't give it a five rating was there was an odd smell when entering the room. We all adjusted to it pretty quickly but each time we came back in it was there. (It seemed like a drain issue.) Other than that it was a great stay!

07/11/2015

Our room was clean and tidy and the bed was exceptionally large and comfortable. There was large flat screen tv, fridge, coffee machine and microwave. The bathroom is really compact, with a decent shower over the bath and the loo, with the sink being in a vanity unit in an alcove in the room. The room felt a little bit dark and old fashioned, however it looked like some of the rooms were in the process of being refurbished, as there was a lot of moving of mattresses and workmen at the hotel. There was a smallish outdoor pool and a whirlpool. There isn't a lot of space around the pool, just room for a few sunbeds and chairs. The hotel is a short walk from the beach, which on a still and sunny day, must look stunning!!! Breakfast offered a good selection; cereal, some hot eggs, waffle machine, toast/bread, yoghurt etc. It does get quite busy in the room, as there isn't that much space.

"Overpriced for a Hotel under Renovation"

2
27/10/2015

Initial room was extremely musty smelling, and we all wound up waking up with headaches; Requested a different room and were moved to a room that was supposedly "just renovated". Staff was wonderful, showed concern and the desire to make things right. However, the room we were moved to was still under repair - painter's tape on the trim, sash between bathroom tile and room carpet missing, bathroom toilet seat needed repair, etc. They should have offered to reduce the rate since the rooms were not up to par.

MarcyDeering, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
Hello Peter: I was disappointed reading your review, I know that you have stayed with us before and I am sorry that this time we did not live up to your expectations. I do understand how guests feel about the value vs cost, but I want to let you know that we are working very hard to get these rooms up to par, during your stay we sold every available room for the Friday and Saturday. I most certainly will do my best to make sure all rooms are guest ready in the future. Thank You for you comments. Marcy Deering, General Manager

If you don't mind sugar ants crawling all over your night stand... a broken refrig.. and dirt behind the bathroom door... then I would recommend this hotel. However, if you do mind those things... then find another hotel.

Kello Karen : I want to apologize for your most recent stay with us, We did not live up to your standards nor mine. I must first address the condition of the room, I am very sorry about the fridge, we will be soon getting all new refrigerators and microwaves. All rooms are slated for total renovation. The Ants I am sorry to say are a condition from all the rain that we have had here over the last month. I have had our pest control company here many, many times to address that problem, I have been told that the ants are searching for higher ground and our pest service is aware and are doing the best they can. The staff was great. Several rooms (the ones we stayed in) were very moldy smelling. No hooks in the bathroom for towels, etc.. Rooms were not well-lighted, even with 4-5 lights. Upstairs room we checked out smelled of stale cigarette smoke. Continental breakfast was nice. A few ants crawling around on the nightstand.

MarcyDeering, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
Hello Alice B: Thank You for your candid comments. I want you and all that read this, we are in the process right now of re-doing the rooms. We are renovating all rooms. The carpets are being taken out and wood flooring is being installed as of now and by getting rid of the carpets the odor in the rooms will go away. We are doing total room changes, by the mid-spring time all rooms will have new bathrooms and new floors and new furniture. Please do come again and you will see all the great changes. I do apologize for the time you had recently. Thank You Marcy Deering, GM

After a nightmare at Daytona Bestwestern Casa Del Sol. I was afraid this was going to another dump. I was surprised!!! Very pleasant and helpful staff. The room was clean and updated. While I understand that hotels need renovation noisy saws and cutting and banging should be confined to a few hours during the day. Currently management at the front desk tells me that they stop by 9 pm. This turns an otherwise great little place right across from the beach into a construction zone. Stay away for now unless you hate peace and quiet.

MarcyDeering, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Seaside Inn-St. Augustine Beach, responded to this review
Hello Alan M: I was so sad to read that the renovations has been a problem for you and your stay. I know that the construction/renovations team has been working until 7:30pm or so. I truly apologize for any inconvenience to you. I know that we had your room away from the front where they where working and on the opposite side of the building, but I do understand noise carries. Please come again when all the renovations are complete to see the difference. Marcy Deering, General Manager
