I stayed here while working on the Blue 2 fire post fire assessment team. The staff are friendly and helpful. The motel sits at the top of hill in a quiet location a 5 to 10 minute drive to restaurants and grocery store. The room is big and I had the suite in 201 but I used half the room. It's comfortable but full of unneeded furniture. Bed is comfortable with 4 pillows but I didn't find my pillow. The motel and room has undergone a haphazard remodel. I could see the old carpet under the new one. They seem to have just randomly added furniture to the room. The room works but it has damaged walls and slider doors and worn furniture. I enjoyed my stay and it fit the bill. Its a dated building that has had a lot of use. Thanks staff. You are great.
This BW is located slightly on the outer edge of town, high up on a hill with a nearby castle like structure which was nice. Staff is supremely good and friendly, the inside feels very spacious and decorated, very nice. Room was very clean, spacious, a great bathtub to soak in, AC unit was good. Felt very quiet here, I got great sleep. Breakfast was the usual breads, sausage, eggs, etc, but I noticed many days of the week they have more homemade style Mexican offerings which sounds great. A great BW stay, would gladly return.
Good value for this tourist heavy burg. Some of the friendliest staff I have come across, Rose in particular was very helpful. Our room was clean and the a/c was efficient and QUIET.
I thought I would try Best Western rather than my usual loyalty brand. So far, I am not impressed. I checked in a few minutes before 3:00 pm and was charged a 25.00 early check in fee. While most hotels have a 3:00 check in time, theirs is 4:00. The room was clean and comfortable enough but the hotel just seemed to have a lower tier feeling. There were limited carts and those they had were shabby. The breakfast was fair but had limited offerings and didn't seem sanitary with the gravy ladles being really messy. Front desk personnel were not friendly and seemed to hate their jobs and the people checking in.
Hands down our favorite stay at a hotel in Ruidoso. The way we had a Mountain View was great with the snow we felt like we were in a winter snow globe! The staff was great, all was clean and the rooms were spacious! Can't wait to go back to this gem!
Room was not clean. Pool was closed with no explanation as to why. Pool closure was not informed at booking. Hotel staff were not friendly. Food was not cooked correctly. Will not stay at this location.
We had a very nice room, comfortable, clean, very large with an attached living room area. The breakfast left something to be desired. The waffle maker didn't cook the waffles enough so they were raw inside. The eggs in at the buffet were fried - scrambled are more suited to a buffet. Rose was very helpful and suggested K-Bobs for dinner. It was packed with a long wait but we could eat at the bar with NO wait. I did not realize this was a resort town and it was just an overnight for us. It appears there is a lot to see and do here.
This hotel is a well maintained and renovated property with the vibe of a bright and modern boutique hotel! We loved every minute of our November four night stay. The location is scenic and quiet, yet just a short drive away from tourist shopping and good restaurants. It's perched high enough on a hillside so that traffic sounds were non-existent even with our room window open! There is an elevator, so getting luggage up to our third floor room was easy. And YES, the rooms really are extra spacious as advertised. We were very happy to have the extra seating area with sofa, coffee table, and desk separate from the bedroom area. Plus our room was super clean, with everything in working order. Some other things we really liked about the room and our stay: the comfortable beds that keep us staying at BW hotels Plus and Premier whenever possible when we travel; lots of bright lightening available throughout the room; having fresh Fall mountain air coming in the window for a great night's sleep, a fabulous fan over the bed area; high quality linens and towels; and a pleasant sunny indoor pool and sauna complete with comfy lounge chairs and towels. From check-in to check out we found staff to be genuinely friendly, as well as efficient and helpful. Overall this is a gem of a hotel, with everything orderly, well-managed, and given the attention to details large and small that go into a great hotel experience. We are looking forward to staying there again soon for the pleasure of enjoying more relaxing and fun days in Ruidoso.
cleaned up and much nicer than our last stay, kudos to Rose who greeted us and took care of all our special requests, clean with hot tub inside, a bit hard to find as it sits way up on a hillside, enkoy the ride up, don't walk it!
Took a longer time to check in, even though a Best Western member, Pay an extra $20 for early check-in. Only one room available, and on ground floor even when we requested an upper floor when the rooms were ready. Room was spacious, but had alot of things wrong with it. Internet didn't work, coffee maker didn't work, no lamps or radio clock plugged in. Bed skirt untidy with top sheet cover badly wrinkled. No full length mirror. Small bath with "round" toilet. Very small TV with alot of scratches on it. Large windows facing parking lot, had the seals broken and window would NOT close tight. It was a gap large enough to fit in a small bird!!! Pool hours were from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, not enough time to use it. We did use the hot tub and it was good, no high chemical smell. The breakfast dry.
This hotel is centrally located in Ruidoso. It's close enough to any type of entertainment in town. This Best Western Plus is located higher up than other hotels around it so the views of the mountains are spectacular. It also has a small playground and gazebo perfect for family events. Rooms were clean and employees were kind and helpful.
A decent property overall. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast. Nice rooms. Housekeeping every 3rd day or on request (we were informed in advance). But the internet was awful. Slow (sometimes barely 1.0 Mbps). We were dropped often. Had to log in multiple times a day. It was only occasionally possible to use it for streaming video.
We enjoyed everything about this hotel. Our room was spotless and full of great smelling, quality toiletries. We enjoyed the drink machine and had coffee throughout our stay. The pool and hot tub sparkled and was warm with a waterfall. The staff were plentiful and helpful. The manager, Rose, was always on staff and eager to answer questions. The view was lovely. They also have a great rewards program.
Stayed 2 nights- rates were different for each night. Comfortable bed and clean bedding. Good breakfast each day. Breakfast attendant was very attentive. Air conditioner was very loud. Window view was the backside of a building. Toilet was slow to flush. When I called about the toilet, front desk person brought an old worn out plugged but stated she had stints and could not plunge. Did not offer us another room. Used the public restroom on first floor for most of stay.
I am a firefighter who stayed here on assignment. The room was super nice with multiple couches, k-cup coffee maker, good size fridge, bulk shower soaps, and an actual light in the ceiling and ceiling fan! I don't see actual ceiling lights in hotels very often and I really appreciated it. Very clean as well. Included breakfast menu varied daily and was very good!
Great location. Hidden in the trees. Across from Ruidoso Downs race track. Rooms are nice. They don't restock towels unless you ask for them. Overly expensive during weekends and local activities.
The extra fees on rental cabins all added up to much too much cost, so we ended up here and we are so glad we did. Had a great time! Had a nice breakfast which varied each day, including eggs, waffles, potatoes, as well as the usual pastries, etc. Enjoyed the well-maintained hot tub, pool, and nearby walking trail. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Overall a very good experience.
When I expressed the reason for my early check out she could careless and acted as “OH WELL”. There was no way a family with young children could enjoy the play area due to the surroundings which was very uncomfortable.
We went by a seven other hotels to choose which hotel suited us best. We chose Best Western Plus because of the location and partly because of the suggestion of the suite recommended by Rose. She was very helpful in making our stay more comfortable. Also this location had wonderful views . We extended our stay twice to take advantage of our situation (which was leisure). We had planned on staying in Ruidoso for four days and moving on.
Our room was spacious and very comfortable. However, the metal bedframe for one of the queen-size beds was not aligned with the box spring. Two of bars from the metal frame protruded under the bedframe. As they were not visible under the bedskirt, I hit my leg against one, which caused my leg to bleed. The shampoo dispenser in the bathroom was empty, causing me to wash my hair with body wash. The breakfast was tasty and contained many items to choose from.
If you're looking for a hotel in the heart of the town, this isn't the one for you. Just your basic hotel. After we had already paid for the room we were told the pool and hot tub were closed. One of the women at the front desk was kinda rude.
Good clean hotel with large rooms & comfortable beds. They have ceiling fans in the rooms which as someone who sleeps without the a/c running, makes for good sleep. Close to shopping & the casinos, Beautiful setting with great views. Great staff who took care of a small problem we encountered quickly and effectively. This hotel is surrounded by forest so it is not unlikely that on occasion small spiders or the like would sneak into a room. Breakfast was tasty and filling with a large variety of options including tamales for Father's day.
Door didn't lock. Stay because of pool but pool was not open and when I booked nothing about pool closed was mentioned to me. Staff rude and always smoking outside and not available to assist. Couldn't sleep because door won't lock and staff said no other room was available.
Great time staying at this hotel. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms and clean rooms. Breakfast was amazing. Quiet area, we really enjoyed the outdoor picnic area. The pool was closed for renovation but we were able to go to the sister hotel and use their out door pool. Only negative thing I have to say is the honesty of one of the employees. I found a wallet outside on one of the tables in the picnic area, turned it at the front desk. Few hours later I saw the owner of the wallet outside with the police talking about her lost wallet, I let them know I had found it and turned it in to the front desk. She says she had already asked twice and they told her they didn't have it. My husband also had asked if the person that lost it had got it back and the staff told him yes it was returned to the owner. Which was a lie because the person was with the police still looking for it. I went with them to the front to let them know I was the one that found it and turned it in so I know for a fact they have it. Magically the wallet suddenly turned up. Very disappointing to have staff being dishonest. Although the hotel stay itself was amazing, the dishonesty of the staff was offsetting.
Rooms very cozy, very clean. Friendly staff, easy check in, easy check out. Didn't get a chance to tray the breakfast since we like to sleep in. Heated pool was awesome but the pool room was very cold, one of the windows was a bit open and it was snowed outside. Love the location. Definitely be back.
We were very satisfied with our stay excellent service. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff were had excellent customer service and helpful. The view was amazing. I would recommend this hotel.
We visited to celebrate a friend's 65 th birthday! Horrible hotel experience!!! Website does not advise prior to booking the hotel is being renovated—It actually states “This newer 100% non-smoking Ruidosa, New Mexico hotel offers friendly customer service and an array of amenities for guest while traveling “ ~Front Entrance door isn't automatic as it it is either broken or they have turned off. Big glass door you have to slide over to get in. It states Lobby under renovation. Not true, the entire hotel is under renovation. ~Not safe, doors on sides of hotel that have panic bars to get out didn't lock when we got here. You are supposed to have a key card to get in, but anyone can come in and out. We were not going to stay but manager did have some address. ~Manager said on website under things to know, However I have a print screen and it is not. ~Hallway is not carpeted and has broken concrete high heels can get stuck in or just elderly walking down hall to get to their room. No warning signs. Due to lighting coming in from an event late, very dangerous. ~Other areas with exposed electrical, holes people can fall in. ELEVATOR DOES NOT WORK!!! ~Fridge in room falls over when you open the door ~Now let's talk about advertised amenities!! NONE—no computer for guest in lobby, no fitness center open, no hot tub, pool works but room is not heated! Breakfast— gray eggs, afraid to eat. Other items mediocre. We spoke to front desk, she said she would talk to Manager. Front desk came over to speak to us and said Manager said to say sorry. I explained to desk clerk, not her place and Manager should be out speaking to us in person! They are working on room next to us so very loud. Calling corporate.
At night I love to stand in the window and watch the traffic on the highway. Then watching all the lights on mountain side is a lot of fun. Also sky is just so beautiful as well as at night seeing the moon and in the morning the birds that are in the air, as well as seeing dawn begin is breathtaking. Then the clouds coming over the mountains, I just stand and stare at the beauty. Sometime I go out in the front of the hotel and just stand feeling the air on my face.
Under renovations but staff and room worth it. Stopped because we just couldn't go any further. Great room, staff friendly. Town is well worth checking out I think. Wish we had time to check it out. It's beautiful.
This is the first bad review I have ever given to an establishment, however I am trying to save others from making the same mistake I did. Reservations were made with a company card and when I checked in I specifically said the card I was providing was only to be used for incidentals. Upon check out I stated that the card for payment was the company card on file for the reservation not my personal card. I got charged on my personal card for for the stay and when I called to get it corrected the manager claimed that there was no other card on file other than my personal card. How would a reservation be made without a card on file? Also the hotel is under renovation and the floors are literally concrete, most doors in and out of the hotel are broke or closed off. 2 sets of Sliding glass doors to entrance into lobby have to be manually opened and closed behind you, and there is not a functioning elevator. Even though it is posted no smoking the entire bottom floor of hotel smells like a casino. All while they are still charging $150+ a night. This hotel should not even be allowed to be renting out rooms in the current state it is in, let alone without warning guests of the renovations. The only good thing about the entire stay was the breakfast was very good, the lady keeping it stocked was very nice and friendly. Stay away from this hotel!!!
Under renovation but no mention on website at booking. Public restrooms, water fountains and elevators were all out of order. Poor quality towels and toilet paper in bathroom of room. Breakfast food and service was very good. Good selection of hot and cold items, good quality food and attentive service. Had higher expectations of a Best Western Plus based on previous experience but was very disappointed in this particular hotel.
First, we were advised the day before t we were supposed to check in that there was construction going on in the hotel and the elevator was not working. We were unable to find any vacant options due to the fact that it was Oktoberfest. We were greeted/ checked in by an employee who was clearly on meth, the manager was rude. We asked if we could check out a day early and she stated no Because we agreed to stay and our reservation was non refundable. We asked if we could check out a day early- I was uncomfortable leaving my things in the room and also the construction was far worse that we were told. She was rude and stated no since we agreed to stay. She stated that she gave us a discount (which is not reflecting) my husband advised that we would contact corporate. She states ok thanks” and hung up. We travel frequently and have stayed at multiple hotels throughout the country and this was the worst experience
This was a great place to stay. The staff was friendly and courteous. The location is convenient, right off a main highway through town, yet, not right in the middle of all the attractions. (Meaning, it was quiet!) The room was spacious, clean, and had all the standard amenities. Good water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was good - standard fare you would expect, and plenty of it. Dining area was clean. Good value, I would definitely stay here again.
The staff was so polite and helpful. The room was clean and the whole ambiance was peaceful. The view is amazing. We were on our way to the Grand Canyon and stayed in Ruidoso. On our way back from Grand Canyon, we stayed two more nights in Ruidoso. Great decision to stay at BW. The suite was clean and spacious. Highly recommend this motel.
Stopped in Ruidoso for a night. Hotel is up on the side of a hill. Room was clean as was the exterior. Nice soft towels for drying off after your shower. The shower water temperature did fluxuate a little, but not enough to be a concern. Decent breakfast.
Ok for our purpose, we had requested a handicap accessible room, but we were not told about not having handicap rooms available until we checked in, because they are under renovations. Evening staff was great.
This was a very nice hotel at a very reasonable price. Room was comfortable and the fact that it had a very nice view was a bonus. The staff was courteous and friendly and the complimentary breakfast was very good.
Much to my surprise when I walked into the lobby it was under total renovations. I asked the employee that checked me in why would you not have the renovation information on the hotel website she looked at me and said should we? I couldn't believe it! So basically they falsify info about the hotel . We pulled in late after a 10 hour drive or we certainly would have went elsewhere and demanded a refund. We stayed in a 2 room suite that was really old and dusty. I am thinking bout pursuing a full refund for false advertisement and dried vomit down the wall in the corner of the room next to the queen size bed. I mean what the hell is wrong with people!!!? Close your hotel down when under renovations. If you cannot provide a clean and comfortable accommodations then SHUT YOUR DOORS UNTIL YOU CAN! Stop tricking people! Rm. 222
RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I wouldn't even give this place a 1 star! From the moment we entered the lobby, they had current renovations/construction throughout the whole lobby and first floor, which they never disclosed this on the website. I asked how come they don't let customers know this and the front desk clerk replied with, “Why should we?” **let that slide** Proceeded to walk to our room upstairs 222, as we were walking, 2 vacant rooms were left with their doors wide open which was really suspicious (mind you this was 9:30pm) **Chose to ignore** Entered the 2 room suite, it looked like a hotel room straight from the 90's and smelled like it too. For a little over $200, I was not impressed. Outdated fixtures aside, the cleanliness of this room was absolutely appalling. I laid down on the bed after driving 10 hours and I noticed speckles on the wall near the bed. There was dried VOMIT all over the wall! There were crumbs around the nightstand, black hairs on the floor of the restroom. This place was DISGUSTING. Apparently they don't have maids to thoroughly clean each room, but I will never stay here again. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!
Nice hotel, with an excellent breakfast, located on I-70 before you turn into Ruidoso. It is up the hill after the turn and next to an abandoned, old castle, so it makes for taking interesting walks the next morning. Even though we did not use it, they have an indoor, heated pool with a little water fall, which the kids that were swimming in it definitely enjoyed it.
The staff members were amazing and fast. The room concept was great we stayed in the family suit. The rooms could use some updating, curtains were falling down the fridge wasn't plugged in and on when we arrived and the room was a little cluttered. Also the dispensers for soap and whatnot did not work well.
The hotel is currently undergoing renovations inside, so at first it may seem off-putting but the rooms are very clean, the staff friendly, and the breakfast good. We had a king room and it was incredibly big. Great value for money and a good location.
The hotel was perfect for our stay. Everyone here was very friendly. The hotel was clean, quiet, and in a good spot. We were close to the main street for shopping and eating. The hotel has a great view and is well lit.
Me and my husband stayed at this hotel in 2018 and were completely satisfied. We returned just this past weekend and we were completely DISAPPOINTED and DISGUSTED. We stayed in room 201 our room was nowhere near cleaned our shower head was broken, found a sock and blood on sheets. We immediately contacted front desk they sent up some girl and cleaning guy all they had to say was “Hmm” “we will change your room”. Horrible customer service along with unprofessional staff. I will NOT recommend this hotel to anyone and will not return to this hotel.
nice clean, friendly place until you want to take a shower and there is not soap, conditioner, body wash in any of the containers. Thought maybe it was because of covid until i met another traveler who siad they didn't like the body wash. I was like ...you had body wash?
Debbie was amazing, very personable, extremely helpful and friendly. There was an issue with my reservation, not booked through Best Western. Debbie was so kind and I'm grateful for all of her assistance. Excellent customer service, such as what I experienced is rare these days.
We had a nice big room at a reasonable cost. Staff at the counter provided recommendations for dinner. Pool looked great but we weren't able to take advantage. We liked the location on the hill in a very scenic area.
We were not greeted when we arrived. Our room was still being cleaned when we got to the door. They said the were finished cleaning, but they didn't vacuum. There were food crumbs on the floor. We didn't get towels. We asked the front desk for towels and they said they were behind and would deliver them to our room. They stopped by our room to ask how many towel sets we needed but they never took them to us. They rudely told us they were calling us. Turns out our phone wasn't working. We notified staff and they didn't do anything about it. The tv didn't work. We were stuck with one channel. At breakfast the waffles tasted sour like the batter was old and had gone bad. The indoor pool was heated but the room was not. It was too cold to swim.
My kids and myself love this hotel, but this time I stayed 2 nights and my restroom stunk so bad when we walked in. There was urine on the toilet seat and also dry urine on the outside of toilet bowl. Everything else was great. Just a big let down knowing the cleaning of the restroom was poorly done before we arrived.
This was my first time staying here and I would recommend it. It's very well lit and off the main street in it's own area. The front desk associate was very sweet and my room was clean. If you need a place in Ruidoso, this is a great choice!
Thank you all for such excellent service and such a well maintained and clean hotel. This is the best hotel i have stayed with in a very long time and we look forward to our extended stay where we all feel like a part of this hotel family
This hotel was the best ive slept in. The rooms were so clean and Anthony the front desk was so helpful with what we needed but i wanted to say thank you for this experience We will be back very soon!
Check in took a long time approx1 hour after 5 rooms. Room weren't clean and attendant did not know which room had 2 beds. There was a mask required sign on the check in desk and the attendant did not wear a mask.
You will be staying above a hill were there is amazing view, breakfast was limited due to covid, inside pool. Comfortable bedding, clean. This location has a table area were you can sit and have lunch as well as a small playground.
We had a spacious King suite w/ 2 additional queen beds, sofa, chair, 2 TV's. Great for a family. Beds, pillows and linens were very comfortable. Directv in rooms. Please note.....hotel is short staffed....they are struggling to get rooms cleaned and turned over. No check in before 4pm. They are currently not offering daily room cleaning. If you need something they are happy to provide it. Staff was very nice. Hotel is in need of a thorough cleaning and some maintenance in the rooms. Breakfast was available with no noticeable restrictions. There is an indoor pool and gym, but we didn't use them. Down the street is K-bob restaurant. We ordered online and picked up and ate dinner in the large hotel gazebo area. It was a great outdoor area that most hotels do not have. They even have a small playground area for kids and a horseshoe area....but we didn't notice any horseshoes. Overall....with liked our stay, they just need a little work to make this a great hotel.
Beautiful view located in a very convenient central location Continental breakfast was very good, clean and great service Indoor pool has a great view with glass all around viewing Room was spacious and comfortable for the family to stay
With 15 years of hotel service and as the current operations manager for a four seasons. I understand that lower-end transient hotels such as this hotel almost always has discrepancies that disgust me. Public area housekeeping does not keep tabes on the public stench within the hallways and it most likely has to do with the rotting garbage left for hours in the hallways and elevator lifts. This morning my niece was getting breakfast with her grandmother when a stack of haphazardly placed folding tables came sliding down the wall onto the legs and foot of my 7 year old niece. She was pinned under the tables and thankfully nearby guests were able to get her free. The manager Rose W witnessed the entire incident and had the impudence to blame my niece for the tables that came tumbling down on her. Three nearby guests stood up for her and her grandmother as they were in shock of how they were treated. They got after her for placing the tables in an area where they shouldn't have been and no caution signs anywhere. They even told her to get a bag of ice...instead of helping and apologizing she placed blame and bullied my family. First of all tables should not be stored in an active dining room area where there would be high traffic. If not us, some other individual would 100% have gotten injured. As we asked for paperwork to report the incident, the manager was overheard calling us names and accusing us that we only wanted a discount to her line staff, Utah. I am thankful for the guests who helped and stood up for my shocked family members. Those chairs should have been properly stored in the correct location not leaned up against the wall at the waffle station on the slippery floors. Pictured is how busy it had gotten in the same area where the tables were located after they gotten moved, under the window to the right. Another incident happed later that day when the manager Rose W. again had an altercation with us. She came around barreling down that narrow driveway to the hotel on her way to another property she manages...we were coming up the driveway and she nearly caused a head on collision off a steep hillside. Again instead of apologizing and kept going. She had the unprofessionalism to come back up the driveway and place blame on us again! I mean what kind of person let alone manager goes out of her way to cause even more trouble for us and cause a scene involving us in front of the other guests and staff. Is this the sort of leadership example is she setting for the staff she has? I can definitely say out of fear for our safety and to prevent the risk of further embarrassment and ridicule. We came to enjoy our Memorial Day weekend in a city we have never been before and make fun memories. Instead we dreaded coming back to a place we thought was safe and inviting. We will definitely not be returning to this awful hotel with a bad manager and to warn others of this cold hearted individual. Never in my 15 years have I ever been under the direction of a manger such as Rose. I also have never been so inclined to write a negative review of a hotel.
the front desk at night was friendly, but the lady that was there next morning and check out had an attitude and wasn't much help, the room was dirty, sunflowers seeds, trash one the floor, crusty stained yellow spots on the bed sheets, used tissues papers in the trash and dirt in the shower. althought after changing sheets myself, the bed was comfy and breakfast was pretty good as well. also pool is closed so don't listen the reservation department saying it's open.
It was 3pm when we arrived and I asked if I can do an early check in the women up front stated check in wasn't until 4pm and we needed to wait. Also when we arrived there was a strange odor in the hotel. It wasn't temporary because it smelled that way the whole time we were there. We reserved a suite because we had friends traveling with us and when we got in our room we also noticed a strange smell. Later when we were getting ready for bed we attempted to close the doors to separate the room and noticed both doors were broken the wood look like it was rotting. At 5AM we were awoken by a thumping sound later to find out the thumping sound was the housekeeping staff was washing/drying linens. I understand that needs to be fine but does it have to be done at 5AM, we were on the first floor so we heard footsteps above us most of the night. This was suppose to be a relaxing weekend getaway tgat turned out to be a sleepless annoying stay.
We had previously stayed here a year ago and some of the problems in the room were even worse from the last time. The sliding door that separates the suite was still broken from the last time we had stayed there. The door could have fallen out so we had to tell our young children not to touch it when we closed it at night for them. The other door that meets it had the handle come off with the screws stuck to it. When we called to report it the front desk kept coming up with excuses about a maintenance man and said that all the suites were booked previously and the guests took the doors off to play beer pong so all of them are like that. The fridge was leaking and making noises. The tub faucet had a constant leak too. Around the beds there were rappers from the previous guest as well as a burrito. Stains on the couch looked disgusting. We were disappointed but next time we will rent a cabin just up the hill with a view that is a little more but probably cleaner!
All services curtailed due to virus. Thus, some things probably would have been better under normal circumstances. The breakfast was suspended and fitness center and pool were closed. The room needed some additional cleaning before occupying.
At a very sad time for my Family the Staff at Best Western Plus Ruidoso made our stay a pleasurable one. Cory and his wife and Melissa are AWESOME people and represent the Company well Thank you for all you have dome to make my Family feel welcome
Spent one night on our way back to Chicago from Tucson during the Covid 19 virus outbreak. The hotel closed their 3rd floor completely and only would allow 25 percent occupancy. We didn't see anyone else staying at the hotel. They gave us suggestions for a place for takeout for dinner.. gave us plastic silverware plates and napkins. They helped us make the best of a crazy situation! Corey and the other front desk staff was great! Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Have always stayed at BW but this particular one will never get another chance with me. Arrived and noticed lobby a little dingy, not like pictures at all. Walked into suite to notice curtains hanging off rod and unable to reattach. Pocket doors broken between rooms. Infested w ants next day. Tub fixtures not properly attached to walls anymore. Exterior doors unlocked at all times leaving safety at risk. I will day that staff was very nice and accommodating but this hotel is very run down and needs updating
We stayed here for the weekend after thanksgiving. The hotel was easy to find, good amount of parking and nice views. Staff was nice and quick to respond. Enjoyed the hot tub as well as the breakfast! Only complaints are the thin walls & noisy neighbors and the window coverings. We heard everyone walking around upstairs and through the hallway. Rooms need curtains or blinds that would block out more of the light. Parking lot lighting beaming into our window with only thin white curtains to close. Even with that said, I would stay here again in the future!
Esmeralda is a front desk clerk. She us extremely helpful. Always there when you need her. She can find you anything you want or need with in reason. She will great you with a smile as if your long lost family. And she will be sad to see you go. She is awesome.
Stayed here one night the 9th, Esmerelda helped us out and went out of her way to have our room ready for us. Definitely will be coming back! Good JOB Esmerelda !! Breakfast room was also great, everyone super nice and attentive. LOVED ruidoso !!!
Would have given a 5 as the room was an amazing value, large, and quiet. Cory at the front desk hooked us up! Was disappointed that the breakfast wasn't the same quality I've come to expect as they didn't re-stock/check frequently and they ran out of coffee cups, juice, and waffle batter.
Cory hooked us up with a beautiful, large, quiet room and neat spot for dinner. He checked on us to make sure the room met our standards. Unfortunately, I don't know if they are understaffed and trying to do too much with too few, but things were running out at breakfast (coffee cups, juice, waffle batter) and it wasn't addressed for 30 minutes. Rose and Bianca were friendly hostesses. I think they are trying, just need to be staffed for peak hours.
We were there on November the 2nd and 3rd, we were greeted by Esmerelda she was very friendly. I think the first-person you see at a Hotel and how your treated is very important .Esmerelda made that happen she made us fill like we knew her forever and our whole stay there she was very helpful. I can't speak to the amenities (fitness center or breakfast) but if you're just looking for a place to crash in I recommend Best Western. The front desk attendant, Cody, was super friendly and the room was clean and cozy. Also conveniently located near the casino and Grindstone Lake area. I will definitely consider staying here again.
We enjoyed our recent 2 night stay here. The steep driveway was a little tricky, and would be very difficult in ice or snow conditions. The hotel is right on a main highway, with other places nearby (not within walking distance). We had an end room, which was a little larger with a couch and coffee table. The room was nicely updated and the bed was very comfortable. The comfort of the bed is our #1 critique when we stay in a hotel. The hot breakfast was decent, but the hot tub was closed while we were there and that was one thing we were looking forward to using. The parking lot was also a little tight and difficult to find a space later in the evening.
Fantastic SMILE!, professional, eager to assist in every way possible. Always with a smile. Gave great places to see and visit, restaurants of interest. Always asked if we needed anything and if so, to come by or call front desk, anytime. Always Professional!
The staff was incredibly helpful. Our room had an issue with odor from a plumbing problem. They immediately got us another room and moved our stuff to it. Great people there. The property was clean and well kept.
Location value Arrival was easy to find and easy access to rooms Rooms were also a plus quiet Internet access super Breakfast meal was delicious and amount available hot Site info in the room encouraged to explore Staff on arrival courteous and professional
We arrived late, but the desk agent, Cory, was friendly and prompt after I rang the bell for service (was recommended btw). Our room was very comfortable (and large) with 2 queens and a sofa bed (which didn't get used). The breakfast was wonderful. I made sausage & egg biscuit sandwiches and the biscuits were actually soft & edible, unlike the biscuits I've had at other BW properties. If I'm ever needing to be driving through Ruidoso again, I will stay at this BW property.
Beautiful location on the side of a hill in this beautiful high altitude location. Excellent breakfast. This now is the third time we have stayed there during trips between Michigan and Arizona. Will plan on it again on future trips.
The room was way better than expected. Even had a faux fireplace. Very clean and large room. Great internet. Nice getaway location. Great breakfast and super friendly staff. Will be visiting again with whole family.
We had a very comfortable stay here. The hotel is high above the road so traffic noise is minimal. The staff were pleasant and friendly and the room comfortable. Only problem was the plug in the bathroom sink was missing so we made do by stuffing a wash cloth in it and reported it to reception on check out. The receptionist immediately and efficiently reported it to maintenance. Unfortunately the business centre computer was out of action. Pool was nicely kept and breakfast standard fare.
When we visit Ruidoso, we usually stay at Best Western Pine Springs Inn. This time we gave the Plus a shot. What a nice surprise. It's located off Highway 70 on Camelot, up on a hill. Nice room, great breakfast, wonderful staff.
Really nice place to stay. The only thing that was not acceptable was that the whirl pool was not working. Breakfast was great, rooms were good and the service was awesome. This is a great location for a hotel.
Very clean hotel , quite and good customer service . Room service was excellent and good breakfast . Ample parking space and close to down town and th museum . It was a very nice experience. I definitely recommend this hotel.
Staff was very helpful in every way, in breakfast area lady was very friendly. The young man at the desk was very friendly and asked what else he can do to help. The noise was very limited, to usual doors closing and people staying next door.
We decided to stay a night in Ruidoso in the way to take my step-daughter back to school. We ended up enjoying our first night there so much we stayed another night. The rooms were big so that a family of 4 were not on top of each other. The hotel and the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed the pool both nights and the breakfast in the morning was delicious! Our family has found its place to stay for our Ruidoso getaways!
Our stay over-all was very unpleasant. The breakfast food was cold. bisquits were hard, many times we have experienced they were out of food by 9:00 am. The most disgusting problem was the odor on the third floor that the staff know exists!! It is a horrible sewer problem that should have been repaired long ago. My son hd to brush his teeth using Coke to rinse, afraid of water contamination, Water was discolored.Sheets were yellow. Go Green is because laundry is not being done !!
Travelled with 3 boys....room was spacious and perfect with 2 queen beds 1 king. Pool was in working order however hot tub was out of service and has been since ,I'm assuming the last time I stayed there over a year ago.
The employees went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one. They greeted us with a smile, the chef checked on us at breakfast, the pool and hot tub were clean, and the room had a nice view of the mountain.
Clean hotel, a little aged. Under repair during my stay. It was nice, had a average hot breakfast, pool and hot tub. We stayed on a Sunday night for $85. The same room Saturday night was $458! It was horse racing season!
PM clerk was awful and had no skills in customer service whatsoever . We chose this hotel specifically for the pool and hot tub , I called in advance . Then when we get there I asked for the pool hours and was told the pool was broken . I mentioned that was the only reason we chose this hotel and I was told “well I can cancel your reservation “ .I said At that point Memorial Day weekend where would we go ? He just shrugged . Then the day we checked out he asked how our stay was I stayed would have been great if the pool worked , snidely he said “you should have just stayed at the other best western , they have a pool too and they had rooms left “ . I was stunned . He laughed when he said it . I will never stay at another Best Western again .
pool was freezing, bath door didn't lock, missing remote for tv and someone crapped in the hot tub. manager was nice and helpful. fixed our bathroom lock, also got us a remote for tv quickly. breakfast was good
I had trouble with my motorcycle and was going to have to ride till midnight to get there, so I called to cancel my reservation. I understood that it was not supposed to be canceled, but I was hopeful under the circumstances. The manager refused to cancel, saying it could be done "only in an emergency." I thought that riding late, after dark, tired and unfamiliar with roads might qualify, but she did not. In addition, she reminded me to be there by 2 a.m., or the reservation would be canceled! I kept riding and arrived very late. The hotel was in shambles: Nearly every door on the second floor was wide open, and supplies lined the hall. In the morning, I told the desk clerk how rudely I had been treated, and the manager came to speak with me. But rather than apologize or offer a free room or other compensation (I am a platinum rewards member), she simply denied that she had been rude and unconcerned. I have, obviously, stayed at many BW hotels and never been treated this way. Don't stay there unless you want to be ignored and insulted.
We selected this motel from TripAdvisor, where it was presented as a pet-friendly Motel. Once the reservation was made, the motel alerted us that dogs are not permitted. The reservation was not refundable, so we forfeited the cost of one night's lodging. We are disappointed with TripAdvisor for poor information.
Staff and facilities were excellent. Great outdoor area to enjoy the beauty of the area. Near midtown shops and restaurants and river trail. This was a wonderful vacation and will return next year. Will recommend to our friends.
This is a very nice place to spend the weekend with the family, nice indoor pool, breakfast was good, employees all pretty nice, WiFi had good speed, it's located just at the entrance to town, accesible from anywhere, safe place to be, no complaints, all good, well recommended!!
I highly recommend this place in beautiful Ruidoso NM the view into the woods is breath taking. The staff welcomes you with open arms and is great at getting hou settled in. The rooms give you that home feeling and are so comfortable the 3rd floor has the best view. I look forward to going back in the summer.
Large rooms, comfortable beds, and fireplace. suite had a separated room for kids. We enjoyed the playground outside and indoor heated pool. Breakfast was great and staff was extremely helpful and accommodating.
Huge rooms, great employees, comfy beds, great location, lots of light sources, complimentary local newspaper and USA today, no pet mess noises and leavings, fresh made delicious cookies complementary, lotion and soap dispensers, newly renovated new carpeting with no dirt dust in corners behind furniture now, lots of breakfast choices. But now property in process of low season renovation so no rooms with valley view. Will stay here again.
We stayed 2 nights with kids. Staff friendly and accommodating. Indoor pool great and hot tub hot! Kids loved it! Love the outdoor playground for kids too! Surprisingly quiet for as busy as it was - so they must have thicker walls. We were on top floor so I'm sure that contributed too. Breakfast average but still good with additional goodies like tamales!
We chose this hotel due to slightly higher ratings but were disappointed. I must give the staff a five star!!! Very friendly and accommodating and linens appeared clean but: Hotel needs a bad remodel.lobby feels bare with no decorations. Room smelled like old socks, shower dispensers empty, Walls damaged , kick plate in elevator half torn off wall, pool was filthy ( big hairballs floating) and jacuzzi brownish muggy water. These are serious hygienic issues and worried us. Front desk and cafe lady very friendly. Its the owner, not the staff that needs to be spanked.
The staff at this location is amazing. The General Manager and Assistant Manager deserve a raise!!! They were EXTREMELY helpful and accommodating! As was all the other staff. Great hotel. Location is beautiful. Amenities were great. Will stay there again if we ever go back to Ruidoso!
Bfast was not good, and not enough facilities to cover guests trying to eat prior to heading to ski. Access to hotel is terrible with snow/ice, and no service was given to help situation. Hot tub did not work properly the entire 4-day stay. Walls are too thin, could hear every footstep above and drain lines flowing water by bed. No water pressure, and limited hot water. Internet had intermittent service.
I spent 5 days with my family at this hotel. The hotel has a heated pool, hot breakfast included, and a conference room that you can rent. There is also a small playground outside. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. They are among the friendliest staffs that I have met. The hotel is about a 30 minute drive to Ski Apache. It is 10 minutes from Walmart and 5 minutes from Walgreens/McDonalds/Taco Bell. It's also about 10 minutes from Ruidoso market. Great hotel.
Visited for 3 days with my husband and 2 year old. Comfortable and clean hotel. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was great with lots of great options to choose from. Don't usually stay at BW but glad we stayed here. Small playground and indoor heated pool was nice, too.
Pros: -Nice and Friendly Staff -Good breakfast(had lots of variety of foods) -Comfortable -Spacious room(enough space for 4 people to move around in) Cons: -Couple of ants in our rooms(specifically the sofa) -Pool was dirty( had bugs on the pool floor)
Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Experience was wonderful, we enjoyed the pool and hot tub area. There is a playground area my boys enjoyed. Breakfast was wonderful! They had tamales which were good. My boys usually do not have the hotels breakfast but they are all I served them this time.
Over priced in my opinion. The room was dusty and our heating cooling unit was having some issues. ok stay but wouldn't pay this price to stay there again. For the price the room should have been cleaner.
I loved staying at this hotel! Room was amazing and very clean! Staff are always smiling and greet you when they see you! It's nice they have a full hot breakfast and very nicely set up! I recommend this hotel to everyone who comes to Ruidoso. We loved it and will be back again!
It's beautiful in Ruidoso, and the hotel is on a scenic hill. Staff was friendly. Room was very nice. No extra fees for coffee maker and refrigerator. I would stay here again. Price was right. Breakfast was good. Staff ready to make fresh coffee upon request. Easy to get to all tourist places.
Stayed for 5 nights. Parking Lot, Foyer, Elevator, Hallway, Room and Bathroom were in a very clean condition. Staff was very friendly, informative and caring. Every morning Breakfast was excellent with biscuits, gravy, eggs, sausage, hash browns, tamales, cereals, waffles, bagels, coffee, juices and more. Fresh baked cookies and coffee in the afternoons. The manager treated us excellent. Shanna the breakfast attendant makes each guest feel special. Cyriana with her great attitude checked us in. Overall we had a very pleasant stay in this Best Western Plus and definitely would come back again.
The property is well managed and maintained. Rooms were clean and well designed. The manager was kind enough to allow me to have a late check-out so we could get some rest due to mt wife being ill the previous night.
I enjoyed my stay, the staff was very helpful and the view out my room was awesome. Well located property, easy to get most anywhere from this location Breakfast is available downstairs and I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast.. Hot and cold items.
Adriana the manager treated us excellent. Our rooms were awesome with great views of the forrest. The indoor pool is heated at the perfect temperature. The breakfast was amazing...they even had homemade chile sauce i could put on my eggs, biscuits and gravy. I was so impressed with this place and staff that I actually decided to write this review where in the past i have never written one.
Stayed in the handicap room. It was very large with plenty of room to manuever. Beds were a little hard but still slept ok. Shower did not drain well, was standing in 4 inches of water when I was done with my shower. Was a nice big bathroom though. Breakfast was really delicious. Staff was friendly. I would stay here again if I get this way again.
We ended up at this hotel after their 'sister' hotel BW Pine Springs refused to honor the BW online price. What a fortuitous event that was. I was extremely impressed with the staff at this hotel and the room was clean, comfortable, spacious and an excellent value. This will be my new hotel of choice in Ruidoso. We stayed in a two bed suite that was surprisingly large and quite comfortable. Our room had a ceiling fan which was very surprising. The breakfast was very extensive, hot and delicious. I have stayed at much more expensive hotels and the breakfast here exceeds most. I was so impressed by all the staff here. They really seem to care about their guests. Prime example: at breakfast so many guests came in at once that there were no tables left but the staff set up a folding table with chairs for the guests that couldn't didn't have a table. Seems so simple but how many hotels have you stayed at that would actually do something like this? Just really impressed with everything about this hotel.
I visited Ruidoso for the first time over the Labor Day weekend. I booked last minute so the hotels were pretty full and rates pretty high. I chose Best Western Plus and am so glad I did. Location is great, right on 70, sits up on a hill. Staff incredibly nice. Cannot say how friendly everyone was from check in, check out, maid, and the lady cooking breakfast. The room was large and has mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, couch, desk, and very clean tub. They have an indoor pool and hot tub which I did not use but it would be nice year round. Nice covered deck out front with a view of town which is nice for morning coffee. Breakfast - eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, juice, coffee, cereal, a little fruit and BONUS TAMALES which were delicious. The lady serving had made them fresh. The room is a Standard room and was clean. I would definitely stay here again.
Select another facility; this one is overpriced for quality and service. Hotel manager did not address problem encountered and did not offer any sort of solution. Breakfast was a fiasco with way overcrowding and not maintained i.e., food on floors, dirty
Over priced room. Room had a lousy view. Window were dirty. Wont stay there again. Shower was hard and confusing to work. The Lady that working at the breakfast bar was very good. The room was also located to close to the lobby. You could hear everything
I was looking for a room to comfortably accommodate myself, my husband, and our two grandchildren (boy and girl). This Best Western had a suite which contained a king bed in one room, and two queens in another room. Perfect! The rooms were very clean, the beds quite comfortable, and there was room for a desk, a sofa, and electric fireplace (which only partly worked). It would have been nice if the kid's room had a half bath, but it worked all right for the two nights we were there. My only complaints are 1) the carpet desperately needed replacing. It was badly stained and wrinkled, and 2) the toilet was so low that is was actually difficult to use. We're used to chair-height toilets in our home, but I can't believe these were even standard height. The young lady at the front desk who check us in couldn't have been any nicer or more helpful...she was a delight. She even took the time to call up to our room to make sure we had everything we needed. The hotel is not on the "main drag" of Ruidoso, so you have to drive to shops and restaurants, but it wasn't all that far away. Altogether a pleasant stay.
Stayed here 3 nights and really enjoyed it. Room was large, clean and quiet with a mountain view. Very convenient to most anywhere in Ruidoso. The front desk clerk actually offered to let us check in 2 hours early which was so appreciated. The breakfast was simply delicious with two kinds of eggs, sausages, two kinds of fresh tamales, warm green chilis to put on top of anything, biscuits and sausage gravy, waffles, cereals, yogurt, 4 types of juice, several types of coffee and various breads. They need to replace the shower heads because they restrict the water flow so much that you end up using twice as much water trying to get shampoo out of your hair and shower gel off your body.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very nice room and good breakfast. Would certainly stay there again as would my friends. Rooms were very nice. Location was great with easy in and out. Check out was easy.
We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel and our stay. It is a beautiful updated hotel with a resort type look and feel. The room was CLEAN!!!! Excellent value will stay again. If you have not stayed at a Best Western in awhile give this one a chance. You won't be disappointed!!
Nothing special about this hotel, at best it's just mediocre. I needed help from the front desk and nobody would answer the buzzer-then I saw the sign that stated a phone number to call if I needed assistance. I did not have my phone with me, so I went back to the room, called the number and nobody answered. Disappointed. The room rate doubled from Thursday to Friday.
After a bad start, we had a good stay at this Best Western Plus. The room was clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the shower and bathroom were fine. The problem was that our room was not ready when we checked in about 5 p.m. after a 500-mile trip. The stated check-in time for this inn was 4 p.m. This was quite frustrating but it was even more aggravating that the desk clerk did not apologize for this inconvenience or make any offer to mitigate the problem. Other than that, the service was good. The breakfast was OK. The hotel is located a hillside above the highway entering Ruidoso from the southwest. It is 4 to 5 miles to the main tourist strip of restaurants, motels and other tourist shops. There is nothing within walking distance of the hotel.
boring motel, no personality to it, even pics on walls were either without area attraction or not existent, horrible breakfast, I was only one there, other two guys walked out after seeing food, I had a donut and one for the road. OK to stay, hard to find behind the Motel 6, could be its cousin
pluses: clean, quiet, comfy beds...great breakfast all 5 mornings, safety in room and parking area minuses: shower apparatus a major problem for anyone with arthritis...forced to tub baths no carts at check-in checked 3 times batteries had to be replaced in the TV remote overhead fan control set on high; had to stand on bed to adjust speed no face cloths left the 3rd morning...left a 5 dollar tip each AM for 4 days one missing bedspread on 4th day weekend rates much to high even though lots of empty rooms; weekday rate is OK. This was our 4th visit in last 6 years to Ruidoso....will select another lodging on our next visit.
While generally a fan of the best western chain, definitely not a fan of the Ruidoso locations. Too bad tripadvisor does not allow me to choose zero stars. Witnessed extremely unprofessional management and horrible mistreatment of the housekeepers. I would not stay there even if the rooms were free. I think that Holly and Rose are a disgrace for managers and I have nothing but empathy for the foreign college students working each summer, who are treated like slaves and unaware of their rights in America. The department of labor should thoroughly investigate this place!
Best place we've stayed here! Clean, pet friendly, large rooms, super comfy beds, great pool, & amazing staff! Thanks so much to Rose and Erica for helping us! We came a day early and they helped us not have to check out and check back in since one night was booked under third party. They simply changed it up and helped us out! Breakfast was great with plenty of options! There's a playground for the kids and covered picnic area to use. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub! We highly recommend and will stay her next time we come this way!
The clerk (Max) on duty when we checked in was extremely rude and short with us. We arrived at 3:15 and were quickly told that rooms would not be available until check-in time of 4:00 at the earliest. We said we would wait after he suggested we go grab lunch or look around town. At least six other groups had been told the same thing as they all came strolling in close to 4:00. Magically, we all got checked in right then. Amazing how suddenly all the rooms are ready. I've never stayed at another place where they don't try to get your room ready when you arrive, and they know you are waiting. I also reiterated my request to be on the top floor (3). Good old Max made sure we got first floor. The hotel is nice looking from the outside, and the interior of the rooms are decent. However, the walls are so thin that we could hear every footstep above us along with entire conversations and when the person next to us sneezed. The air units on the wall are so loud that you cannot sleep with them on. Luckily for us, it was fairly cool outside, and we could suffice using just the ceiling fan. This BW Plus was not inexpensive rate wise. I suggest you stay elsewhere (Elegante is cheaper) or rent a cabin in order to get some rest and relaxation as well as peace and quiet.
Everyone was nice, they were very welcoming and able to provide all info needed before being asked. Breakfast was awesome, everything was so good. My kids loved the pool too. We will be returning to this location again.
With it being a holiday weekend we found the hotel clean. The staff was friendly and courteous. The breakfast had a good selection. The pool and spa area was enjoyable. Our room was nicely decorated and clean.
Room on 1st floor, close to back exit, very noisy, could hear upper room foot steps & outside door closing. Front desk service needs improvement. Didn't get points due to "cannot earn points if you're using points to stay"; but we did get them at other BW. Didn't get the gift certificate at this BW as stated upon making reservation. Room, bathroom were very clean. Had problems adjusting water temperature in bathtub.
Everything that we expected. Staff was terrific. Room was very clean. The only small issue that we had was the eggs at breakfast or dry and rubbery and didn't sit well on the tummy. But the waffles were great.
I stayed at the Ruidoso Inn for three nights about two weeks ago. My stay was excellent, from service to accommodations. The folks at Best Western Plus Ruidoso Inn think of everything, and their personal attention to guest comfort and provisions is commendable! Thank you!
This is basically a very nice hotel, with large spacious rooms in a wooded area at the edge of Ruidoso. The staff is quite pleasant, and the breakfast is above average. Two problems that could easily be fixed: the business center was closed (out of order) the entire time I was there, and the breakfast room is far too small (we had to wait for a table): this is a persistent problem at Best Westerns. Also I did not received any of the freebies I was entitled to as an Elite member (i only learned about this when I received a survey from the hotel).
Friendly staff, spacious, attractive room. Nice breakfast. GPS took us through many twists and turns but we were told it was shortest route! Scenic location .We stayed only overnight but would stay here again!
The beds are excellent and very comfortable. Also, the room seemed much more spacious than I have seen at other properties. The hotel staff is very helpful. They went out of their way to provide us with information about things to do in the local area, hiking trails, etc. I highly recommend this place! Their breakfast is excellent.
The Manager was courteous, the other person I'm not too pleased with. I've traveled to many places across this country I've learned to see when a person has contempt for me as a person. I'm not happy.
I'm a fan of this hotel chain but was disappointed. It wasn't just one thing. Understaffed front desk, dirty cigarette butt area outside the door near our room. Most BW serve breakfast at 6:00 a.m., this one 6:30. We drive 8-10 hour days so 30 minutes was enough to forgo breakfast. The room was clean but sheets have seen better days with pilling. I hope this gets corrected because it's a good location and has potential with some tweaking.
for the standard amount of 80 dollars this is a good hotel, could put the perfect qualification, just for one thing, that the shower was not useful and my boyfriend and I had to fill the tub to bathe with water glasses. they could improve. the breakfast very regular but the bed very comfortable. and everything very clean. at the reception they behaved very well. Other thing and the coffe is good.
We spent a few nights here during spring break. I had checked around other hotels/ motels and found this facility would suit our family's convenience on a budget. Room was a bit bigger than usual with a sofa and desk. Very clean inside and outside, breakfast was good. I liked the fact different items were offered each day. I wasn't crazy about the scrambled eggs one day; they tasted like powdered eggs. The tamales and green chili salsa made up for it the next day. I really appreciate management opening the conference room to accommodate guests when the dining area was full. I only had two issues that I addressed to management before I checked out. They said they would take care of it. All hotel staff were courteous, polite, helpful, and professional.
Had transportation problems getting to Ruidoso, called at 11am. The morning of my check in date to cancel, explaining the problem. They refused to cancel the first night and charged me for 1 night. On your confirmation there is a code, they claimed that is your notification you have to give 24 hr. Notice. Good luck finding it or understanding it. The girl I talked to answers to phone hello, no welcome to BW. You have no idea where you called or who you are talking to. She was rude, and could of cared less that they were taking advantage of you. The manager never even had the courtesy to call me back, she made the rude inconsiderate millennial immature kid call me back. Stay away from this place and plan to get billed if you have to cancel, oh unless you die or have a medical issue. They will take your money, for no service and prolly turn around and rent your room, double dipping. Terrible unethical service.
I pre-paid for the room prior to arriving, yet my card was charged again for $226 after I checked in. Was supposed to be a fun New Year's getaway but was ruined due to this hotel charging me again for the room that was already paid for. Staff at the front desk basically told me there's nothing they can do about it. Thanks for ruining my trip!! Definitely never staying here again and I will tell everybody I know that is considering visiting Ruidoso to stay away from the Best Western Plus!
Staff was very friendly. Answered all of our question and were helpful. Gave recommendations of places to eat and shop! Breakfast was on point. Food never ran out. Rooms were clean. Close to everything in town!
Chose BWR because of price and amenities compared to local resort prices.Service was great, room was comfortable. Break fast was good. only negative was towel shelf in bathroom was pulled off wall and when notified front desk explained that a work order was in place but was not resolved yet. I believe another room should have been offered.
We decided to try this hotel at the last second due to having a TERRIBLE experience in another hotel that same day. We did not have prior reservations but they got us a room without hesitation. They worked to give us a good deal for being reward members and were very accommodating. We felt welcomed and absolutely relieved that they had rooms available for us. Staff was wonderful! Rooms were nice and clean. Room was very spacious and beds were comfortable. This has become our "go-to" hotel when we are in Ruidoso ever since!
Super comfortable. The decor felt like home. Very cozy. No problems at all, very friendly/helpful staff. Great indoor pool. Very nice and clean. Loved our outside view from the room. The cleaning staff was very good, we stayed 2 days and the room stayed clean thanks to them.
Great place to stay, friendly staff and great breakfasts. Rooms look new and remodeling was in process, lobby was not as inviting as other BW plus but I'm sure that is planned in the remodel. I will certainly be back when the area.
I travel a lot. I stay a several hotels of different kinds. When I'm in the Ruidoso area, this Best Western Hotel is always my go to Hotel. Although there are other hotels available, this particular BW is consistently a quality hotel.
The room was very attractive & clean. We enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the breakfast very much. It was served in a timely manner, and the items went beyond the usual. The staff was very friendly. We would highly recommend this hotel to our friends.
This was a two night get away, it was off season so the price was good and the hotel was not so full, but November is a great time to visit Ruidoso for the colors of the trees and the weather, not too hot but not too cold. a light jacket will work. The hotel has an elevator, the rooms are spacious, bed was comfortable, breakfast was better than most, the indoor pool was a bit chilly but the hot tub was relaxing. Because it was my birthday the staff made me a card and they all signed it, how does it get any better than that? Id stay there again,
Best Western Plus sits on the side of a mountain - the view is magnificent. The feeling when you walk through the door is warm and inviting. You feel like you have just arrived home. The employees treat you like you are their best friends. The knock themselves out for the guest. You just never want to leave. I think I could live there in the one room and be very lazy and happy.
Nice property. Spacious rooms, nice staff. Very comfortable. Very reasonable rate. I would highly recommend this property to couples and/or families, as the rooms are very comfortable. Conveniently located in Ruidoso, central to town.
We travel a lot and this was by far my best hotel experience, the staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and the overall hotel was in great condition. Can't wait to book our next trip not only to Ruidoso but all the other states we have on our bucket list to complete
great place for relaxing and enjoying one another has hot tub swimming pool and excise room that two can enjoy good location for touring many historical areas and natural landscapes to see within the area
On the plus side, the staff was excellent. We were greeted very warmly and each time we returned to the hotel, someone always asked us about our day. Room was average. However, housekeeping left something to be desired. One day our waste baskets were not emptied, and another day it looked like they had not finished making the beds. Also, the bath towels were threadbare. The breakfast was decent and the attendant always came by everyone's tables to ask if they needed anything. Room was quiet and ample parking.
This was a very nice hotel just outside of town, away from traffic. We spent two nights here, our room was very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast buffet was good. My husband had the tamales, I had the biscuits with gravy. All of the staff were pleasant, cheerful, polite, helpful. I would stay here again, any time!
Rooms are filthy but staff are great. I have never been to this little town and was so excited. We got to BW a day earlier than our reservation so we were offered a suite. Due to our early arrival we took it. We were told there was a small stain by the couch, we said no problem. When we got to the room there were stains from the door to the window. There room got worse from there. We were told the entire hotel would be getting new carpet the week of 10/7/17. That wouldn't address the window treatments that were torn. The old dirty furniture. I am not sure I would give this BW another chance but he staff were so great I would consider it.
If your planning on staying near Historic Lincoln this is a good option. It is close, about 1/2 hour drive and offers a clean comfortable room. The doors are hollow so there is a bit of sound travel in the halls, but overall quite. The staff is pleasant and they offer a complimentary breakfast.
Horribly overpriced for the condition of the room and overall building safety and security. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone as when we notified the front desk of the issues & problems, they insisted it was our fault for not leaving the room for the entire day so they could fix the problems. The problems included torn & worn carpet to the point it became a tripping hazard, door to room would not close on its own, broken grout in the bathroom & laying all around, carpet installed in front of the refrigerator so it was very difficult to open & close, outside/side door to building was unlocked all day & all night, sliding doors between rooms of suite all had handles on one side making it almost impossible to open from inside the second room. Overall, VERY disappointed in the quality, cleanliness, security & price of this hotel.
The hotel met our expectations, nice spacious room, clean, lots of plug for electronics. Breakfast was the BW standard prepared by a nice staff person. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were there on weekdays in the early fall, the off season, and felt the hotel was a good value.
Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm smile and delicious cookies! Our room was spacious and comfortable. We would recommend staying at this property - we try to plan our travel to be able to stay overnight at this BW plus!
My company and I stayed here while on a project for the US Forest Service. WQe loved everything about this BW, and we stay at a lot of them. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and professional. The rooms are clean and nice. The breakfast is excellent (given the price point) and all-in-all, we were duly impressed. My guys especially liked the beds and remarked they all got an excellent night's sleep in them. We would recommend and stay here again.
The rooms seem to have gotten upgraded from previous stays and the staff remains friendly as always. It is also nice to see that the staff is the same from a year ago and that the staff remembers us from previous stays. Great Job.
Good quiet place to stay in Ruidoso which can be a very noisy tourist town especiasll along the major routes which is where most hotels are locaterd. This Best Western is back up the mountain way above the highway with back view to a mountain with trees and front views down towards the quite far away highway. Unlike the last two Best Westerns we stayed in in West Texas the pool and hot tub both worked. This is a good place to stay.
Place is extremely clean, Staff are extremely helpful and kind. Our room was large including a desk and sofa This motel has the best breakfast in the Best Western chain which includes Red and Green Tamales with green chile salsa!
The room was large with 2 queen beds and a sofa/bed. Everything was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pleasant surprise was the breakfast. I have never had a complimentary hotel breakfast that was as good as this one. We stayed on a weekend and I understand that the breakfast is a little better on the weekend. Some of the food items looked and tasted like they were prepared by hand locally like the green chili chicken breakfast tamale. The salsa also seemed homemade. You will not regret the breakfast at this hotel.
My daughters and I stayed one night at this hotel while visiting Ruidoso, New Mexico. The hotel was easy to find. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. They had a breakfast buffet with a good variety of food to eat. We enjoyed our stay, and it's a hotel I'd gladly stay at again.
I have stayed in Best Westerns across Texas (from the top of the panhandle to the coast of the Gulf of Mexico and everywhere in between) and this one in New Mexico has.. by far.. the friendliest staff. Thank you for the kind hospitality and the caring demeanor. The staff here really does go above and beyond.
I call and made arrangement at you motel very good service food was great very clean and everyone was very nice. The only thing I felt was wrong was the price of the last couple of days knowing that you would fill up so that you could charge more I just don't feel that is the right thing to do when you have paid for 3 days before
Windows open on this property which is a plus for me. On a hillside below a subdivision with fireplaces. Better air if you stay on front of building. You will not have exhaust odors from kitchen. Furniture throughout hotel is too dark. Rugs are worn bare in king room. Comfortable bed and good tv. Great hotel staff!
This Best Western is an affordable, clean, quiet hotel, and in a great location for all the local events. The staff was awesome! The breakfast offered all the standards, plus omelets, waffles, biscuits and gravy and more. We have stayed at this hotel many times with no complaints - it's our "go to" hotel for our quick trips to get our mountain fix!
My husband & I stayed here 3 nights & it was a very nice place & had great views. The staff was very friendly & the breakfast area was large & clean. We did not know it was the 2nd busiest weekend of the year. It is a very quiet motel up on the side of a hill. We always try to stay at Best Westerns. The only problem that was mentioned by the staff, was that the televisions had a problem as the screens were dark & could not be lightened.. Otherwise, this is a great place to stay. The rec room as well as the pool area were great & always clean.
Stayed 4 nights. Nice clean room, friendly staff, reasonably priced compared to rest of motels. Enjoyed being away from hustle and bustle of the downtown shopping area. Easy access and parking. Good breakfast. View from window on 2nd floor was under roof for pool (reason for 4 ranking).
Is this the fanciest place you'll stay? No. But it's clean and the staff was amazing! We're considering retiring in Ruidoso. We asked a lot of questions and the staff was very helpful! The breakfast was actually quite good as well. We at there every morning!
We were very happy at the Best Western Plus in Ruidoso, NM. The rooms were clean and comfy. There was no traffic noise. The staff was very helpful and made recommendations as to what to see and do. The breakfast was served hot and had a good variety.
Dirty walls, breakfast provided wasn't good (went to Inn of the Mountain Gods to eat). Air didn't work that well only cooled part of the room, only one staff member was friendly. Over priced for what is provided. Won't stay here again, recommend if you have nowhere else to sleep. People running around making noise, I called to complain and nothing was done about it.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location just outside city limits. Third floor rooms very quiet, with mountain views available. Room size exceptional for price range. Our $88 room with 2 queen beds had a spacious seating area by window with sofa and large desk. While bath room was small, it was updated, modern and well-equipped. We appreciated getting good quality, comfort, and service in a popular resort town,at a price that fit our budget!
The bed was so hard we couldn't sleep all night. They were like boards. The staff was great and they tried to help us find another room with better beds, however, all the beds were hard. The staff said the beds were fairly new which tells us the owner bought cheap beds. Otherwise, the property was great and the staff and housekeepers were top notch. If you want a really hard bed, this place will be ok for you.
We mentioned to Rose the Hotel Manager that it was our 41st wedding anniversary and she came to our room with a bouquet of roses, two wine glasses and a bottle of Champagne, all compliments of the Best Western. She made our stay a wonderful experience. The staff, the room and the breakfast were all great.
It's been a long time since I stayed at a Best Western and I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. Super friendly staff, great breakfast and nice quite room. I would definitely stay at another Best Western plus in the future.
Good place to stay. Room was very nice and clean. Breakfast was hot and fresh. Will stay again. Employees very polite and helpful when needed something. This is a very quite place and good view and easy to get to off of Main Hwy. Close to race track and places to shop.
My stay was great. The staff was extremely nice. The location of the hotel was perfect. The price was reasonable. My only issue was the check in time was not until 4. I was not a huge fan of it being so late because I had already been on the road all day. The lady at the desk helped me out though. The other bests western in this town was not willing to work with me at all.
Facility was clean but old. Staff smoke right outside front door which looks unprofessional and problematic for those of us with asthma. Many guests appeared to be workers in the area rather than tourists. Get down to breakfast early, otherwise it's not very appetizing. After first morning, we ate elsewhere for breakfast.
We took the kiddos out of town for a night and stayed here. Unfortunately, my son picked up a stomach bug and well, let's just say, it wasn't as much fun for him! Thankfully, Laura, the lady at the front desk was extremely kind and compassionate even though he got sick in one of the trash cans! She was so pleasant to us the entire time we were there and she asked how he was feeling every time she saw us. Anytime we needed anything, she made sure it was brought to us promptly and with a big smile! Kudos to her for being such a wonderful employee and person!
M wife and I like Best Western hotels & Resorts. its staff is great and they make it easy to check in and out. Love the room and it is clean all the time we stay at Best Western. Also they have a great breakfast to choose from and is well prepared.
We were at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino for a Concert. The hotel was located close enough to get to and from in a short time without a lot of traffic yet have easy access to everything else. Race Track, Down town, Wal-Mart etc.
Enjoyed stay. Rooms were clean, breakfast delicious and staff was excellent. Everyone spoke and wished you a good day. It was quiet and the beds were great. Only thing I would change are the dispensers for soap, shampoo and conditioner. Good price but was shocked to see the price go up $60 on Friday and Sat. That was never mentioned.
Our experience during our 5-night stay was one of the best in the years we have been coming to Ruidoso NM. On par with the more expensive locations we have also stayed at. We will definitely book here if we come again.
Hotel Front Desk Clerk, was very helpful and friendly when we arrived. Rooms were big, clean and comfortable beds. Hotel is located centrally so it's not too far from race tracks, down town shops and restaurants. The rates are comparable and we would most definitely stay at this location again.
We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus in Ruidoso NM. The rooms were clean and A/C worked great. The breakfast was great and the staff ws super friendly. The hotel was clean and the shower was hot. I would certainly consider staying here again.
Friendly staff. Knowledgeable on things to do, restaurants, etc. in Ruidoso Nice location, convenient to town. Great breakfast with multiple choices. Room came with a great desk to work from for some business on my laptop. Free WiFi.
Good nice motel with an excellent breakfast and service staff. Weekend rates are very high. Much better value during the week. The service staff is excellent. There is no reason to add to this review except to satisfy TripAdvisor requirements so I can get off this webpage, because the skip this step button does not work.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights while on vacation. The front desk people were great in greeting us as we checked in. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. The tv remote control didn't work well. Don't know if it was a network problem or not. We asked them to check into it, but didn't get the issue resolved. Also, neither one of us recall getting the password to log into the wifi there. We only ate breakfast there on the morning that we were leaving. Holly, the manager, was nice and coming to ask if all was okay with the breakfast and our rooms. The lady that was taking care of the breakfast was very nice and helpful. The main reason that I didn't give a 5 was because of the issues with the tv situation, as my husband enjoys watching tv in the evenings and he couldn't.
Good place overall except the carpet in the room was coming loose and bubbling up, great location nice indoor pool, big room, the wifi was extremely slow, the hiking trail was nice the "playground" needed a lot of work, beds were very comfortable
The room was large, clean, modern & very comfortable. Laura at front desk is a sweetheart., great customer service & a genuinely kind & happy person. Water pressure in shower is poor & Wi-fi is very poor. If it weren't for the Wi-fi I'd give 5 stars. Owner/management should invest in better faster wi-fi - router system. In today's day having good wi-fi is very important.
We were there just one night traveling through Ruidoso but enjoyed our stay. The hotel had a great view on the side of a hill overlooking the valley. The room was clean and spacious and the Wi-Fi worked flawlessly. The indoor hot tub and pool was nice after a long day on the road and the hot breakfast the next morning was good way to start our day. Located just off the main street going through Ruidoso so getting around was a breeze.
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Best Western plus in Ruidoso. Like As I said the only issue that I saw was the rocking back-and-forth on the toilet which was not a big issue and I took my Apple TV and it would not hook up to the Internet it was blocked. That happens every time I stayed in the best western.
The hotel staff was welcoming and very helpful. The property was attractive and well maintained. My room was quiet and very clean. It was raining very hard on and off through the late afternoon and evening. The staff was constantly mopping up the lobby floor to keep it clean and safe for the public. I highly recommend the Best Western Plus Ruidoso Inn.
We were very impressed with this hotel, the room was spacious, bathroom shower/bath was new and enjoyed having a ceiling fan in addition to ac., the bed a little lumpy for us but still overall super stay! The room was clean and comfortable. The check in clerk Damien was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, lots of food choices, food was good and hot. The breakfast staffer was very nice and kept it stocked.
Beautiful hotel staffed with warm, caring people who went out of their way to make our stay an experience we want to repeat. The rooms were clean and fresh smelling. Each of the staff greeted us with smiles and asked us how our stay was going. The front desk ladies greeted us by name each time they saw us and took the time to talk to us about our stay. The breakfast was very good, with tamales being offered on Saturday. This is a hotel by which we will be judging others we stay at in the future.
Great room and great value. Really big room and very comfortable beds. A little dated, but for the price it was great, $97 with tax. Was a small mix up between hotel and booking.com, but fortunately we were able to get a room.
We reserved a king suite and wound up on the 3rd floor in the largest hotel suite we have ever stayed in for a chain hotel. It was awesome! The hotel is very clean and accommodating for all your needs. It was very reasonably priced ($130 on the weekend and $85 during the week--including all taxes.) While Ruidoso is very small, this hotel is situated in a quiet and convenient part of town. Highly recommend.
There was absolutely no water pressure. The ice machine in hall was extremely loud. It sounded like there was an acrobatic troop practicing upstairs. The staff was friendly, attentive and caring, they were outstanding. I have stayed here many times this was the first bad experience.
Plenty of room for our family of six. The bed was really comfortable. The hotel was easy to find off the main road. The layout of the room allowed us to close off the kid's room and work in our own. Overall really good experience.
We were very late to arrive, staff assured us our room would be ready and waiting for us. The staff were more than courteous. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Hot breakfast was fabulous. Will definitely return!
We used our points for an overnight trip on our anniversary weekend. (If you haven't signed up for points with the hotels you frequently stay at, you're missing out on a great benefit - especially if you travel a lot.) The full breakfast was really good - plenty to choose from, one of the best ones we've had. By the time we were able to go down to eat it was almost at the end of the serving time, but the server said she would be there as long as we needed her. Every staff person we met was very friendly. Just a couple of things on the negative side. The tub faucet leaked like a sieve, and when we were checking out we reported it to the desk clerk. She said she would get that note to the maintenance man and have it taken care of. We were in a 2 queen room, and one of the mattresses had a definite sway to it so we slept on the other bed. We rested really well. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. It was a very pleasant stay.
The location is great. Rose, the Assistant Manager, is VERY friendly and accommodating. At breakfast, the General Manager came to the tables to welcoming us, and to see if everything was OK. We will stay here on our next visit to Ruidoso.
Best Western Plus in Ruidoso, NM was comfortable, breakfast - full meal - many options of what to eat - and it was very good too! Caring, professional staff made sure all of our needs were met - map of surrounding area - shopping - gambling - great places to eat and things to do! This is a wonderful area to explore - from White Sands Missile range to the Lincoln county cattle wars to Billy the Kid - everyone will find something to enjoy and learn.
We have stayed here twice and highly recommend this hotel. A bit hard to get to as it is upon a hill. The people there are very helpful, there is fresh coffee and cookies in the lobby, and the rooms are large. We had a suite which had ceiling fans and two bedrooms. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is large and you have a vanity in the bathroom and another just outside the bathroom. There is both a microwave and frig. Breakfast area is large, selection is good, and coffee plentiful. This hotel is not far from either the casinos or downtown Ruidoso.
We had peace and quiet. Wonderful view from the second floor window, fun watching the birds. Great hiking trail, or just sitting outside protected from the weather, enjoying the view. Breakfast was fantastic every single morning. Wonderful place to stay. I would almost like to live there we felt so pampered.
My friend and I spent one night at the Best Western Ruidoso Inn yesterday, and what a great experience it was. We got an amazing low rate and the room was huge - one of the largest I have seen. Spotlessly clean (with the exception of the carpet, which is scheduled to be replaced). Staff was just outstanding, always checking to see if we needed anything. Beautiful large indoor pool with a stone waterfall feature and a great hot tub. Couldn't have asked for more.
First time staying in a Best Western Plus and the experience was great. The staff went out of their way to make us fee welcome...awesome customer service. Air conditioner was not cool enough but we overlooked it because of the customer service.
This is an older hotel that has been remodeled. We enjoyed our stay. The room is large and was very clean. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The staff goes out of their way to be friendly and to take care of whatever you need. There is a nice outdoor sitting area to meet with friends or to just enjoy the view. we have stayed at this hotel a couple of times and will return.
The Best Western Plus Ruidoso offered the most enjoyable stay my family experienced in years. The rooms were spacious and clean, the heated pool relaxing, the breakfast plentiful and the staff helpful and pleasant. The location on a hill above the town is fun and convenient. The price was right and so I would definitely stay here again. Regards, Rick C.
The room was HUGE! It had a sink in the restroom as well as a sink and vanity area outside of the restroom. There was a separate bedroom with 2 Queen size beds and a tv, and a common area with a King bed, a couch,a chair with ottoman and a tv. The mini fridge was larger than usual and there was a microwave. Breakfast was great every morning as well. It was fully stocked with meat, potatoes, eggs, waffles, pastries, cereals, and yogurts. We would definitely stay here again!!
This hotel is above average in its class, but what makes it exceptional over the other hotels, is the staff. They couldn't have been more friendly. They were quick to offer assistance and were helpful for every request. The room was spacious and the wifi connection was excellent. TV had ample choices of channels with a built-in TV guide. Bed was comfortable and we slept great. The fitness room was well maintained and well equipped. The breakfast had a good selection, other than I would have liked to have seen fresh fruit offered. Best of all, they had cookies and coffee available 24/7! We will return!
The hotel was very clean and the service very good. The breakfast was better than expected and the location is close enough to the town and the casino to make it. The only thing is that the restrooms could use a little touch-up especially in the showers and the towels were very worn. They have an indoor swimming pool that is he is and a hot tub. The exercise room is okay as well. Parking is plentiful. The beds were very comfortable. It does not matter what for you request?
We stayed in a mini suite and it was very roomy and clean. The hotel is a little out dated but kept up well. The free breakfast was very good. ( the first where they had fresh tamales for breakfast and fruit). The pool is indoors but a very small exercise room. Very nice for the price.
The staff was friendly and so helpful. The room was very clean, comfortable and roomy. One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. The breakfast was very good with many choices. The hotel in situated up on a hillside and is quite beautiful. Highly recommend.
We stayed at the Best Western Plus Hotel in Ruidoso recently. It is very a clean and quiet hotel. The price to stay there is very reasonable. It is very family friendly. It has Free breakfast and an indoor pool. It is a short drive to great shopping in downtown Ruidoso. We were there on business. They allowed us to fax business papers. The front desk was very helpful. They have an honest staff as well. My husband left his IPad. They called to tell us and they are mailing it up us.
My stay here couldn't have started any better. Rose was so attentive to us and the others while in the breakfast room, she poured our coffee asked if she could get us anything else and even cleared our plates, and let me tell you she is a ray of sunshine, her smile and kindness is very evident of the kind of person she is.
We are currently staying here and are amazed. We had the best breakfast bar we have EVER had at any hotel. They had Spanish omelets, gravy, and of all things tamales (including chicken). They were like home made. Then one of the employees came around offering coffee like we were in a restaurant. AMAZING In addition, the room is HUGE with more room than we need, a bed that is absolutely right on and channels galore on the TV (watching football right now). HIGHLY recommend this place and the view from the front of the hotel is amazing too.
Beautiful grounds and room and very friendly and helpful staff. Kitchen amenities are always a plus on long trips such as ours. Stayed in off season during week days so was quieter than normal, so we were allowed to use the pool and hot tub a bit later than usual. Nice touch!
This hotel is excellent. I will stay there again. Nice exercise room, pool, and hot tub. The breakfast was excellent, but would like a granola option for cereal. The lady who took care of breakfast was great and helpful.
Our room was a king, non-smoking, 1st floor, quiet and clean plenty of room to move around. Breakfast food was fresh and presented well. In-door pool and spa very nice. Staff was professional and friendly Roseann was especially nice. Hotel does sit back off the main road and up a hill, but is easy in and out. Covered outdoor sitting and small play ground for children (swings and slide). Not animal friendly.
Easy to find, excellent service.Great view. Good price. If you look for privacy don't stay in the first floor right side. The window is at the pool level you can see other guests. Carry your own hair dryer
The hotel is very nice - have stayed here before and will stay again. Convenient to downtown area, has a great Mexican restaurant (Casa Blanca) not too far away, and if you have a room that faces east the sunrises are incredible.
Wow, our stay was tremendous, we got more than expected, beautiful Hotel & surrounded by friendly staff who made us feel valued. Great breakfast! We can't wait until our next trip to Ruidoso New Mexico to have another great experience at this Hotel.
I was very pleased with our stay. Check in to check out. Rose was very helpful with our check in/check out process due to us making two separate reservations for each night we were there. I can't wait to go back and play in the snow.
We stayed a couple of nights and plan to do it again! Great location & good price. Lots of deer nearby! Loved the art galleries, especially the Kenneth Wyatt, if you like western art. Fresh air and beautiful views within walking distance! Friendly staff and clean.
I have watched Ruidoso grow over the past 50 years, and still love to visit. One can not help but notice that it has gotten a bit congested, but hard to blame anyone for wanting to visit such a beautiful place.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Ruidoso. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. We had no problems and the breakfast and views were great. The staff was accommodating to our needs and they went above and beyond to recommend restaurants and must see sites. Will definitely come back again.
We really enjoyed our stay. My kids loved the waterfall flowing into the pool, it really adds character. Had no problems with staff or anything really. It is not often my family stays at a hotel with such ease.
Very friendly staff with a good breakfast and clean rooms. Check in was friendly and easy. The kitchen staff was also very friendly and the food was much better than the average breakfast buffet. I will definitely come back to the Best Western chain of motels.
After traveling 8 hours I was greeted at this hotel with an evening desk clerk who had major attitude issues. After checking in, we tried to locate the elevator which we found to be in a closet with a potted plant propped next to the closet door to keep it open. Not a very safe feeling. Code issues, perhaps? We walked into the room which was large in size but very sparse in design or decoration. We found out later the air conditioner did not work. Even though it was 40's outside the room was close to 80 inside. The mattress and box spring were, my guess, probably a late 1960's vintage. The sheets were like tissue paper. The shower produced what I would generously call a "mist" rather than a spray. The toilet barely flushed. We were going n the third floor and the floor creaked. I can imagine how is sounded below us. Breakfast the next morning included sausage links burned on two sides, cold fried eggs and stale cereal. Basically inedible. However the second morning was better. The view was supposed to be mountainside, it did include a beautiful panoramic of the Motel 6. Overall, this was a total disappointment on our first trip to Ruidoso. Might be a good deal for $35 a night but no way for $150 a night. This is a great cash flow for the owners!
I have stayed at this hotel on other occasions. It is a very nice hotel with ease of access to downtown shopping. Large room at value pricing. My room was very clean and nice. Just a small stain in the carpeting which was not a real problem. A hot breakfast of eggs, sausage, etc., is very good. I would recommend this hotel for your stay in Ruidoso.
The Night and Day clerks were amazing at Best western Plus in Ruidoso we were booked for a two night stay and my husband is a diabetic and forgot his medication we mentioned it to Jewells the night clerk and she told us right away not to worry about extra charge due to medical issues and that she would leave a note for Rose day shift clerk true to her word ROSE knew and their was no problem checking out they were so helpful. We asked Rose for direction she took her time and wrote THE EXACT directions on paper for us down to the exact 5 lights all the turns we needed THANK YOU ROSE AND JEWELLS YOU RELIEVED ALOT OF STRESS WE HAD!!!!
We tried to book the Pine but somehow got routed to a booking agency for this hotel. Once we realized that we were booking the wrong BW, we tried to correct it but were disconnected before receiving a confirmation number or talking to the agent. Called back and were told that the hotel would have to cancel us. Connected to the hotel, reservation cancelled but still charged despite being reassured that we would not be! Beware.
Nice clean and newly updated facilities with a friendly staff. The heated indoor pool and the gym are nice. The location is great and in a scenic area. We found the nearby restaurant and shopping facilities quite convenient.
This hotel was very nice and staff was very helpful. Would stay here again when coming to Ruidoso for the horse races. The only thing we did not like was the bathroom situation. We had a two bedroom suite and the bathroom was right inside the door of the suite so any time the other people in the second bedroom needed to go to the bathroom they had to walk right by the other bed that we were sleeping in.
Everything about this stay was perfect. The check-in and check-out was quick and easy. The rooms were large and clean. We liked the way the bathroom was laid out so we could each have our mirror for getting ready in the morning. The beds were amazing - super comfortable and the linens were superb! The breakfast was really good and had many different offerings to choose from.
Excellent location and very nice place. The value is great and accommodations comfortable. Parking was convenient and the amenities such as the gym and breakfast room were excellent. Ruidoso is a wonderful place to get away either summer or winter. Good hiking trails, plenty of restaurants, and shopping. Several museums worth the trip.
The Good - I love the fact that it is NOT PET FRIENDLY - YEA! I am so tired of barking dogs near my hotel room and people walking their dogs outside and "forgetting" to pick up their pet's waste. The Bad - the pillows in our room were awful - very thick and hard. Both my husband and I had a terrible time trying to get comfortable with the pillows and by 3:00am the pillows hit the floor. I finally went and got my damp towel and made a makeshift pillow out of it. Better than nothing! If you need a pet friendly hotel try the sister property also a Best Western. It is in a more remote setting with lots of grass to walk your pets. Otherwise the front desk staff were very friendly and I'd stay again, but I would bring my own pillows!
My parents and I stayed at this Best Western and we're sad to check out. Only because the room was so cozy! We had a great view of the area around us and there were two gazebos. One had a grill and it was just all really beautiful there. So serene. The check in and check out was fantastic. We even chatted with the gentleman as we checked out. He was just very kind! They had a hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, and potatoes. They always offer fresh cookies and coffee in the lobby too. This place was a very wonderful stay. Would recommend .
good stay typical best western quality. convenient. great breakfast. not enough carts. had to wait and then use own device. a small red wagon------recommend travelling with one. can't say much else asking for 200 words is inappropriate.
Nice place and fair prices. Conveniently located. Best hotel coffee. Lovely employees. Would recommend for a weekend visit to the tall pines. Breakfast was actually pretty good also. Was happy with our stay.
I stayed here for 3 nights with my Mom. It was a nice location. I enjoyed sitting under the pavilion every morning in the wonderful cool weather with a great view. Staff was nice. Hotel was full and we were there on weekdays. The breakfast was ample but eating area is small. We took our food to the room one morning. They have one girl keeping everything warmed and stocked. It was a problem. I felt really bad for her. She was working her tail off and trying to smile while being inundated with requests. They need a second waffle iron. I wanted a waffle but was never able to have one any morning without squatting by the iron which I wasn't willing to do. The shower head is very high and wasn't adjustable and basically hit me in the face. Breakfast and shower aside I would stay here again. The place seemed clean and overall maintained. I shop hotels.com and Priceline but got the best rate calling the hotel and getting Senior rate.
From check in to check out this was a pleasant stay. Did not have internet but since it was a vacation I really didn't care. TV remote needed new batteries but it didn't hurt me to get up and change the channels. I would stay here again.
We have stayed there several times and it has always been a nice experience. The staff are wonderful and very helpful if you need anything. The only problem was the outside door would not open with the card so we had to use the main lobby to enter the hotel, but that was not much of a problem and I am sure they will get that fixed very soon. Great place to stay
friendly staff, rooms showing wear in walls above shower, showing wear in carpet, walls, decor, paint. Showers are not "age" friendly, no rails, small space for entering and exiting, shower head way above head level and out of reach. no bathroom heater or vent. room looks like it started to be repainted but never finished. carpet has many stains. luggage cart very hard to maneuver. quiet location, easy parking.
Our first trip back to Ruidosa after 20 years and so much had changed, so many more stores, people, more commercialized. A wonderful tea room with movies, a jazz band, Sunday brunch was the more fun. Of course the scenery was beautiful but every little hill has a house on it now. :( The room was okay, needed updating, but the staff was competent, friendly and they allow dog. They had a welcome doggy cookie for our dog. The beds were comfortable and it was accessible to the "drag" main business commercial shopping part of the town. Okay breakfast buffet.
It was my first visit to picturesque Ruidoso, and it was one of the most pleasant stays in a Best Western. The hotel is close to town and sits on top of a hill with a view of a tree covered mountain to the south which is nice to gander at after a long day. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is top notch. Special kudos to Laura and Shanna for their concern for the guests. A central elevator is convenient, and the parking is sufficient. The delicious cookies in the lobby are always a nice touch, forcing a smile on my face each day after a strenuous hike in the forest. The only complaints of the 3rd floor room are mild ceiling structure noise from adjacent foot traffic and a slightly stubborn lever to activate the shower. The ceiling fan is an added bonus during the summer, and the cable package is more than adequate. The bed is comfortable, but the pillows are nothing special. The "single" most annoying occurrence was of course the absurd constant noise of slamming doors in the hallway on a couple of evenings. All things considered, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting rustic Ruidoso for a few splendid days, rain or shine.
We usually stay at Best Westerns and enjoy the hotel but this one is not great. The room looked run down, and was not very clean. The breakfast was very good though. The staff were very friendly and great. We did not use the pool but it looked nice.
Check in clerk didn't know how to do much: *run CLC *credit membership points *run credit card for incidentals Very unprofessional to have someone untrained as the company's front-man Hotel is clean, well-maintained, and newer. Generally good views. Price and location are good.
This was the most friendly best western we've stayed at. We have always been pleased with best western but this one was tops. Large room with space to move around even with 4 large suitcases. The staff recommend great local food that was outstanding. They also called the room after we had been here for about 30 minutes to make sure everything was ok and to see if we needed anything.
The breakfast was terrible....no food and no selections. Empty dishes....!!!! The rooms are neat and a bit dated (dirty walls and carpet). No quality motel selections in Ruidoso so this was the best value.
Nice, clean and comfortable rooms, good pool and spa, and a pretty good selection of breakfast items. If there was a negative, it was because i was right next to the elevator which has the sound bells for each floor. Noise does travel thru the doors, but really not too loud. Great people, nice amenities.
Long weekend getaway in Ruidoso to beat the heat, play some golf and enjoy the local restaurants and shops, and really enjoyed the convenient motel location and very nice accommodations. The hotel staff and the manager were super efficient at resolving a problem with the air conditioner.
Our experience: First night, no Kleenex available and no back roll of toilet paper. Second day, nobody cleaned our room, so we had no clean towels, no coffee cups, no coffee, trash cans were filled and no clean & dry bath mat. Very low water pressure when showering! May have been our last night ever at a Best Western!
THe shower would not work and we had to take a bath. which was inconvenient. The noise level from above kept us awake. I am assuming the cleaning staff in the hallway were talking about the new manager as we were passing by. one had no shoes and they didn't look very clean at all. I thought they were not being professional. new management was great to us.
First impression of parking lot and Lobby was " Wow how nice". Rooms comfortable, spacious and clean.. Employees very welcoming. Always polite and helpful. Very quiet in hotel and surroundings. Breakfast had a nice variety. Cold foods were cold and hot items were kept hot. Attendant was friendly, attentive and kept area clean.
A newer facility featuring a very large room and a helpful, considerate staff. Very clean. Very quiet (tho off-season) . . set well back from the street. Some minor maintenance issues, but staff took care of us.
Be careful booking on line. Town was busy so when we arrived the told us the rate of $102 from online was now $159 because they were booked solid..Had a friend in the motel business check and they were at 47% occupancy. Guess who found another motel for less!
Awesome view, with very pleasant staff. Clean and large rooms with fridge and microwave. Located very close to Inn of the Mountain Gods Casino and the Ruidoso down town area. Lots of attraction to get into.
The location was good, very quite on the back side of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good customer service. Probably the highlight of this motel. The bed was uncomfortable. The TV took quite a bit of fiddling to work. The hairdryer did not work. The lamp was not plugged in, but this seems to happen at quite a few places.
The continental breakfast is always good and has a nice variety. The staff is very helpful and friendly. All areas of the hotel are kept clean and organized. The hotel is in a good central location for getting in and out of town.
This hotel was amazing. With 4 kids under the age of 7, including 5 month old twins, it can be hard to find somewhere both with available space and family friendly. This place was both. It was also clean. I didn't worry about my kids playing on the floor or taking a bath or anything else that sometimes poses a problem. The kids and I took a rode trip to meet up with my husband before he shipped out and the hotel staff made a difficult situation as pleasant and easy as possible. They were patient with our chaos every morning at breakfast as well as our noise and constant circus. The allowed the kids and I to check in early when we arrived earlier than expected. They were understanding and even humored by what a family with a 7 year old, a toddler, and twin infants can be like. I never felt like we were a burden. My only complaint was that the shower in the room was difficult to use, leaked, and took a long time to warm up, and that the hot tub didn't look very clean. But none of those things would keep us from coming back!
Staff was professional, helpful and very friendly. (Special thanks to Rose, Robert and Latesha). Lobby looked clean and smelled fresh every time we walked in. Room and bathroom were clean. Very comfortable, Wi-Fi excellent. TV excellent color and sound. Will definitely stay again!!! Only down fall, low water pressure in the shower.
hotel seems old and run down. was very dissatisfied with the quality of the hotel. The employees were nice and friendly. Breakfast was good and plenty. the Bathroom fell far below my expectations for use and operational ease. Did not like the soap, shampoo and lotion dispensers very difficult to get anything out.
Staff was very helpful and happy. Best place I have stayed in at Ruidoso. The breakfast was good, the place was clean, and well maintained. Will return there to stay any time I am in Ruidoso,NM. If was very quiet and we had a surprise snowfall before we left. No problem with ice on the road the next morning as we had to go back to Texas
I never complain and stay at cheaper hotels usually and I'm always satisfied! Evidently his hotel jacked their prices up for the Easter holiday because I just got home and got online to leave a review and the rooms are $50 cheaper now! I might have felt better about the service had it been that much cheaper, but it wasn't worth what I paid! The breakfast was nice but that's all I can say. The wall mounted soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers didn't work well so we finally ended up just taking them apart to get anything out of them... Then I find out that the lotion I'd been using out of the dispenser was really hair CONDITIONER! I called twice to the front desk and no one ever answered. I had to go get fresh washcloths that weren't left in the room. Our room only had one window that opened to the indoor pool?? Not to the outdoors, so we got to look at and hear lots of kids playing in the pool all evening instead of the mountains. The picture of the pool on this post is not the pool either!!! Don't be fooled... It's not that nice, it's old and dingy. Had to ask for towels to be replenished at the pool! The Wi-fi was worthless unless you go to the lobby. The rooms are old and dark and our TV brightness was turned way down with no way to change it. The room number on our phone was wrong so it could have really messed someone up. It was just an overall bad experience. The motel 6 right in front of this hotel or the Ruidoso Mountain Inn right next door may be better choices!
We traveled to Ruidoso for a get away weekend with other friends, we travel to other areas and seen the country side and went to the casino. had a great time visiting and seeing the space center, the rolling hills and the great area around Ruidoso. the weather was cool but nice. went to inn of the mountain gods and the travel center and had a great time, won some and lost some.
The problems with the staff have been addressed. Other than some loose plumbing fixtures in the shower, the stay was perfect. This is now the only place I stay for business in Ruidoso, NM. I've stayed at most of the hotels in this town This hotel is close to everything and very clean and cost effective as well. Don't confuse this Best Western with the other further east on Hwy 70. Look for the big mid-evil castle walls. You'll know 'em when you see 'em.
I chose this hotel for our family of 5 based on price and reviews. We booked the 1BR Suite for our family of 5. Check-in was easy, had to wait for my special request room location, but well worth it. Staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely helpful. Upon entry, it's noticeable that the room is outdated, and needed a few repairs. I notified the General Manager, and the problems were quickly fixed while we were out to lunch. The room is a great space, I've actually had a 1br apartment SMALLER than this suite. I have 2 teenagers and a 10m old. The teens loved that they each had a Queen bed in the bedroom, and we had enough space in the main area to setup a Pack&Play bed and also let the baby roam in a walker. Although it could use some updates, we found the value of the space far exceeded the need for posh drapes. A special treat was the electric fireplace in the living room area which added a mountain escape feel to the hotel room. While staying in Ruidoso, we found so much to do we extended our stay and enjoyed another night in this suite. I'm so glad we extended our stay, because the weekend breakfast served "homemade quality" tamales and salsa! After eating typical Continental hotel breakfast for a week, this Saturday morning FREE tamales and salsa were much appreciated. Special thanks to the General Manager and her staff for their outstanding service. We stayed at a few different competitors over the Spring Break, but this hotel experience topped the list.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing a relaxing vacation. The indoor pool/hot tub are excellent, rooms are very spacious and front desk helpful and nice. Breakfast area comfortable and plenty of food to choose from
We stayed during spring break and plan to return soon. Price was very economical, food was included. The only thing I would say was a negative is the AT&T phone service is terrible here and it didn't help that the hotel had terrible WiFi service. The phones in our rooms didn't work either so we had to use the phone at the front desk to order pizza. Other than that the service and manager were spectacular.
Great place to stay if your visiting. Excellent breakfast buffet and they will honor lowest price on the internet vs current price at the hotel. Stopped in early in the morning didn't want to wake up family and the price was right.
wifi its sucks, couldn't use my computer and cell phone at all!! lotion and shower gel dispenser empty, a problem with the water temperature regulation in the shower! I got burn! The hotel is very nice, the room is beautiful, pool is awesome for kids! and breakfast delicious!
A party of four , I went with my son, daughter in law and 4 yr old Grandson for a ski trip to Ski Apachi. This Hotel met all our needs, was located 30 min from Ski Apachi, 1 mile from Walmart for any forgotten items or snacks. Minutes fro downtown Ruidoso. Hot tub for me and parents, heated pool for Grandson. One time pool was cold and when staff were notified -maintenance got right on it and the pool was warmer within the next hour??? But true. They also offer military discount. Staff were courteous, professional and very accommodating. I will be going back in about 2 weeks. i highly recommend this hotel to others. Just leave room for me!!!!
First time staying at a Best Western. My room didn't seem to have been cleaned, I called the desk and my room was changed with 5 minutes without any fuss. Excellent customer service. Check-in/check -out was quick and easy. The doors have a dead bolt lock and a safety chain so I feel very secure. Nice place I would stay here again.
The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was a nice assortment and plenty for everyone. We stayed in a suite which had 3 beds that was comfortable for 6 people. Spa and heated pool was a great treat especially during the winter months. Would definitely recommend.
When I called to book, I was surprised of how fast, easy and professional it was...while staying everything was literally perfect including employees attitudes, they were nice and warm...our stay was great!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The check-in process seems a little overly, and unnecessarily complicated, but the staff is very polite about it. Very good complimentary breakfast in the morning. The internet service has improved and is fast enough to be relevant. The rooms are large, and the beds are comfortable.
There was not any hot water in the morning for showers. There were 2 towels in my room and both were discolored. we rented the conference room and it was filthy when we arrived.I do not recommend this hotel to anyone wanting or needing to stay in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
The room was very spacious. The breakfast was good and acceptable. When we had a problem with our room the staff was there to fix it quick. The hotel even provides a place to cook out. The in door pool did not look clean to me but I am very picky about pools. On one night Several vehicles had trouble getting to the motel due to the ice on the driveway. The motel is located on top of a hill. I don't know if the hotel staff treats the driveway to help customers get to the motel. The hotel was good I would stay there again.
Hotel and room were nice ,clean. The waitstaff were courteous and helpful addressing a few issues we had with the laundry facilities. Good (central) location for activities we had planned to do. Room and beds were comfortable. Hi speed internet did not work in our room.
This is an old hotel offers wine in the evening and a complete breakfast. The sheets are clean and has new comfortable mattress, but old smelly rug have not been replaced. Will not stay at this hotel again.
We travel to Ruidoso 3 times a year at different times of the seasons. Every time we have chosen this hotel we have been satisfied. They are always very helpful and the hotel staff are very pleasant. I highly suggest trying this hotel before booking somewhere else. Each morning The breakfast has several different options to choose from.
Very clean room. Nice beds and plenty of pillows. Helpful staff upon check in and out. Nice breakfast, helpful and friendly attendant. Would stay here again if in town for business and/or pleasure with my family.
Loved staying here. It was nice to get away from the downtown area but still be close by. This hotel has an outdoor picnic area and even a hilly walking trail. The room was clean and quiet and the towels were big and fluffy! Great breakfast in the morning. Warm cookies in the evening. Friendly staff that knows the town.
We have stayed at the hotel before and over all like it. Front desk staff and housekeepers are friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is average for a non commercial kitchen to use. My daughter enjoyed the pool. My shower head was coming off the wall and there was hair other then ours on one of the pillows. Things happen sometimes I gather, so we would stay there again after all is said and done.
Have stayed at this Hotel in the past, had the nicest service, clean rooms, great service. This weekend stay was for my husbands birthday even after I brought that to their attention they offered NOTHING. Was unhappy with room, curtains were broke, carpet was dirty, nigh stand had coke from past visitors, ceiling fan made so much noise, some TV channels had no volume. I was very unhappy, this motel has gone down from our past visits, I paid WAY to much for a less than average motel.
Very nice place, delicious breakfast, beautiful, clean indoor pool and hot tub, friendly, friendly, helpful staff. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds and pillows, very clean property inside and out. Situated in the heart of Ruidoso, NM
Generally this motel was O.K. Not great, but o.k. However, after I left and returned home, I noticed I had forgotten by iPad Charger. Called the hotel, they said they had it and would Mail it to me for a $5.00 charge. Fine. One week came and went, not charger, called them back and they said it was mailed to just give it more time. SECOND week went by, not charger. CALLED them again and they said it was mailed. I asked for the Tracking Number. NOW THIRD WEEK, checked the Tracking Number.....my charger was deliver to another city entirely to someone else AND the Tracking showed the Charge was not mailed until I had CALLED the SECOND TIME in the SECOND week!!!! So yes, WILL NOT BE staying here again......WHY????? Because they LIED!!!
Overall a satisfactory stay except the promised pool (we do actual swimming) was not available to us because they won't open the pool until 11:00 am. Their explanation - the State of New Mexico will not let them open until 11:00 am because they set their pool hours. Yes, the state of New Mexico sets their hours!! We didn't believe it, either.
I found everything to be clean, spacious, and well cared for. The morning clerk (George?) was very personable. The beds were awesome and ceiling fans provided ample comfort. The breakfast consisted of omletes, and sausage. Nice! Thanks!
We've stayed at the Best Western Plus the last two times we have visited Ruidoso. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. The location is a little out of the way, and the price is a little high, but comparable with other hotels in the area.
The rooms are large, comfortable beds, clean environment and just had a recent facelift. The breakfast had a lot of hot and cold options. Staff was courteous and helpful. Location is not within walking distance of downtown shops or race track. Value for price is a good choice. We stay here every time we come through Ruiodoso.
Good , clean, relaxing , will stay again I'm sure. Breakfast was good but could be improved if compared to a few places I've stayed. But still was enjoyable. Not complaining at all. Pool and all were always kept clean. Nice stay!!
