Really a nice hotel that is pet friendly for our dog. Bobby Jo was on front desk at check in and was very friendly. Hotels need more people like her. Hotel has lots of restaurants nearby and stores too. We have been here before and will be back here again.

I was visiting my daughter & son in law after their recent move to Virginia. They are in a very small rental while looking for a home. The first night I arrived I was tired and sent them home early. I unpacked and walked to TGI Friday's for a little dinner. There is also a Chinese restaurant next door. The mall is close with other dining options but not walkable. There is also a large Dollar Store withing walking distance should you need something. Breakfast was small but well stocked with hot and cold items. Always clean and staff was very friendly. Beds had a nice feather bed on top of mattress and pillows were comfortable. If you want your room serviced, let the front desk know the night before. It was just me and my room was equipped with everything I needed. There was a coffee maker in my room that took K-cups. You receive some in your room but if you have a personal preference you can bring yours with you.

Good location and average room, had a strong smell in room , but Roanoke was right by the hotel and was there for work, so it served its purpose and best western is usually pretty good so I can't complain too much

On a recent trip with spouse we decided to stay at this location. We were pleased with the price, the cleanliness of the room and lobby, and the location. We would recommend this facility to others who are in need of lodging in the Roanoke area.

Pleasantly surprised how nice and comfortable this hotel was. Breakfast was standard and the eating area was super small. Nice to have coffee in the reception area 24/7. Room was very nice and clean with nice furniture. Nice solid hotel and was really quiet even though it backs up to the highway. Close to a lot of restaurants. Easy to get into the city. Close to the airport. Would stay here again if in the area.

The first room I was given was not clean at all! Bathroom was so gross. I complained and was given another room and it was a little better but the carpet looked like it had never been vacuumed/cleaned. Overall this poor hotel just needs major updating.

Very comfortable room on the first floor. Love the heat lamp in the bathroom. This is an older property and could use some tlc but it is still a very nice place to stay. It is on a cul de sac so is very quiet.

Hotel has goid hot breakfast, eggs, sausage, waffles. Pool looks vlean. Very pet freindly for our pup. Our room, however, was a little too pet freindly, so we went and bought some room spray and air freshners at the walkable dollar store. The staff was very nice. I waited to mention the smell issue until check out because all else was working in our room, and you never know!

We stayed here for a softball tournament in the area and had a great stay! Probably the most comfortable beds we've ever slept on in a hotel. We will definitely stay here again! The staff was amazing too!

Promised parking and charging for electric car. Arrived to find pickup and utility trucks parked in all the charging spaces. Actually watched a utility truck back into and knock over charging station. C'mon!

The bed was comfortable. The shower head was amazing but the pillows were very uncomfortable. First of all we were in a king room and the pillows were not even queen size. We both woke up with neck and shoulder pain. If you stay at a best western, bring your own pillow. The free breakfast was average.

This was a very pet friendly hotel. There were at least 5 other dogs at the end of the hallway with us. We were very close to an exit door to make our walks convenient. Right outside the door is a green area, perfect for a quick stop or the beginning of a longer walk, with a pet station. The area was very clean so guests were picking up after themselves.

Upon check-in (about 4:00 PM) we were the only people in front of the clerk who could not even acknowledge us for over 15 minutes while talinkg several incoming phone calls as we stood waiting. The room had several cleanliness and maintenance issues that were clearly not recent occurrences. It was so bad that we would not even recommend that any of our exes stay here.

This is a great Best Western with a great front desk staff. They were warn, welcoming and helpful. The hotel is near a mall and lots of restaurant. Plus, a very short drive from 81. Highly recommended.

Service was not the best , had molding top for ice bucket. Had cold breakfast food also TV was turned off during breakfast when we were eating it. The smell in the room.... It's ridiculous when you pay or use your points within Best Western and have to stay at somewhere that doesn't keep up with the century.

Restaurants and gas close by. The room was clean. My main complaint is with Best Westerns price guarantee. I found 3 sites with lower rates. Best Western would not honor the guarantee so I ended up paying a higher rate through their site.

Hotel desperately in need of refurbishment. While the room was clean (except the carpet it has to go) the carpet, the furniture and bathroom need replacing/updating. Location is convenient and there are lots of restaurants and stores within driving distance. A couple of restaurants within walking. Breakfast looked good. Pet friendly which was appreciated. It was humans that woke me up. You can hear people walking above you. It was okay but I would not return.

Checked in and initial problem was thermostat didn't work. No problem, as they re-laced batteries, worked fine. Kicked off shoes, went to use toilet, feet got wet! Perhaps a leaky gasket. Placed towel in front and made sure to wear shoes while using bathroom. Worse issue, no hot water in AM. told fellow behind desk, seemed to shrug it off. Stated only 1 other guess complained! Man next to me then advised he Didn't have hot water….I said that's 3 too many! GM sends me a note asking bout my stay…..so I reply…no response!!! Do you really care? Will not stay there again! Not good for Best Western's reputation.

The room was very nice and clean. I would stay here again. The pool looked nice but I was only there for a very short period of time. It seems to be in a nice location and a better deal than some of the high priced hotels.

One main reason we stay at this location was for the breakfast. Today the breakfast put out 30 minutes late and did not serve what was advertised. We love the waffles, sausage gravy, biscuits to name a few. It was even written on the placard in the lobby that those items were being served; they were not. Holes in the wall made my wife feel very insecure. We took taped tissue over the holes to give my wife some comfort. It was reported to the front desk and they put a work order in for the repair but that did not help us that evening.

Let's stay here at least twice a year and it's a great experience every time everyone is friendly and it's very clean The kids can swim in the pool And they are happy too I would recommend anybody stay here

I've stayed here at least once a year for many years as I travel to visit my family. It has never been updated that I recall. There were brown stains on the carpet, the bathtub faucet dripped all night, and the sheets were so thin I thought they would tear. Overall the room seemed clean but really shabby. I'll be looking for another location for my next trip even if I have to drive another hour or so before stopping for the night.

The staff are rude and amenities are not what they advertise. Although in a convenient spot there's at least 3 other hotels in the area that are better and cheaper. I've stayed at many hotels and I rate this one at the bottom of all my stays.

First off I'd like to say all of the front desk staff I encountered were lovely. ** To preface ** I stayed at this best western plus as a teenager a couple summers. I remember the pool used to be a deeper depth, now the deepest is 4ft. We stayed in the first room on the first floor and the WiFi signal was terrible. The shower head was faulty and had water shooting out the back, we tried to fix it but was unable to. Stains on the walls and 3 mysterious holes in the corner, one of which was stuffed with plastic. Also, the breakfast is OK, they used to have a lot more on but have downsized. The biscuits were crumbly and stale and only sausage and eggs are offered for protein. They used to offer gravy, which made the biscuits more palatable. Overall I'd come back for the price and convenience of location. I came into this visit with higher expectations because of the past but they have since lowered.

Was passing through and didn't make my reservation until 3pm. Was in a great location! Easy on/off the highway and lots of restaurants right around the hotel. Clean room as well as very comfy bed! Would visit again!

Everything was nice need better parking spots. Pillows are very flat could use some better ones. Other then that everything else is awesome. We had a very awesome time. We love staying there. Pool is nice.

We had a great time here. It was a quite hotel not a lot of noise even from the street. They had a lot of amenities that was a plus. Our room was very clean. I was very impressed which is saying a lot coming from me because I have high expectations as far as clean. I was very happy overall the breakfast was lovely and plus free. This was my first booking ever in my own and I was afraid but I looked at the reviews and didn't see a lot of negative feedback. This best western is definitely one of the best!

This was a very nice Hotel. The beds were extremely comfortable with pillow top mattress. I felt very safe there and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I certainly would stay again if I were in the area

We had a good overnight stay. Staff were friendly and the room was clean, the rate was very reasonable for the area. The room had a small refrigerator and microwave. The breakfast area is very small, they are doing their best with the seating. We'd stay here again if in the area.

I highly recommend selecting this hotel when one is in Roanoke. It has nice amenities such as an enclosed pool near the lobby. It was sealed so well that I did not smell any chlorine as I passed by. The staff was professional and helpful. They even provided a list of restaurants nearby. Tons of dining and shopping nearby. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable and there were many breakfast options both hot and cold and fresh fruit.

Booked 3 rooms, 2 rooms smelled like pet pee and very musty air conditioning in rooms116 & 118 Toilet seat was broke and sink drained very slow in room 118 Breakfast was average, mostly grab and go items.

Usually we stay at Best Western facilities when traveling. This Best Western was clean with comfortable bed and a fantastic leisure chair and ottoman in the room. The bathroom was small, but not a problem for one night. The breakfast was typical, except that the only bread option was biscuits. Bread with a toaster would have been nice. The best thing about this Best Western is the staff. Elizabeth greeted us with a smile when we checked in and was very friendly and helpful. Whenever we saw a staff person in the hallway or lobby, they smiled and spoke which was very nice.

Pleasant front desk staff, comfortable beds with lots of pillows, quiet (no road noise), good coffee, hot breakfast. Indoor pool. We used a hotel coupon that we picked up at the Welcome Center when we crossed the state line and saved almost $40!

Roanoke Leisure Trip. Easy check in. Friendly staff. Convenient location close to shopping and restaurants. Clean and comfy rooms. Excellent pet walking area with designated rooms. Hopefully a someday the hotel will remodel and replace the carpet when th laminate, vinyls and or tile flooring. So much more sanitary and cleaner. Breakfast is the usual and what you expect. Setup looked appealing and was good.

The rate at this hotel was good but there were issues with unhelpful staff and equipment not working or dirty. The breakfast provided was minimal and didn't include items they said the had on the sheet they handed out when checking in. No issues with WIFI. The location had several restaurants close by which was nice.

I have a friend who is a big fan of Best Western Hotels so I decided to give them a try. I used to use a different chain but their prices have forced me to look elsewhere. I have been happy with the cost and quality of the Best Western Hotels I have been staying in. This location was no exception. My room was clean and comfortable, I was offered a room on the first floor and the lady working the check in desk was friendly and efficient. My question is this: is Best Western doing away with in room phones? I ask because I did have a question for the front desk but found the phone in the room was dead. After not being able to reach the front desk with my cell, I got up, got dressed and walked out there. It turns out the lady was checking some one in and did not want to interrupt the process. To be fair, I did not leave a message for her to call me back. Last night I stayed in a different Best Western. When I checked the phone, I found it also did not work. So are in room phones at hotels going the same way as pay phones? Just wondering if others have experienced this. Otherwise, I did have an excellent experience at this Best Western and have reservations to return in a couple of weeks.

We stayed here to break up our long drive. It was great for a quick one night stay and we would stay here again, if needed. The service was great and the breakfast was good. The indoor pool was great, as well. The rooms could use a little bit of updating / general maintence but were clean.

We had stayed at various Best Western Plus' before in the U.S. and Canada with equally great outcomes and this one in Roanoke, Va was no different. Competitive price, clean, attractive room, good breakfast selection, satisfactory internet, very pleasant responsive staff

We were exploring the area, and this turned out to be a handy location. Convenient to restaurants and highway to get out and explore Roanoke. The breakfast was okay, nothing super special, the basics of what you come to expect from breakfast included rates. The room was clean and properly appointed with soap/shampoo and hair dryer. The internet did not work for us, even after double checking the password...not sure why. Had no problems at next hotel. We would stay again if ever in the area.

The location of this hotel is very good, altho it confused our navigation system (even good ol' Google maps had a hard time!!). Everything was very clean, staff was great.The hotel is starting to look a little worn, but cleanliness over-shadowed age!

The first room I got was not very clean and had a bad odor. The girl at the front desk was very polite and gave me another room. Much cleaner but still a disappointment....When I closed the curtains before going to bed, you could see light through them where they were thread barren. When I got there the pool was overrun by children, which is all fine, they have to have something to do also BUT they were in there all afternoon and never saw any leave to use the restroom... Things that make you go hmmmmm..... After they did leave, the pool was closed down for "cleaning" because the filter system wasn't working properly, is what I was told. Needless to say, didn't use this ammenity. Breakfast area was very cramped for space and not a good selection. Scrambled eggs were watery and nothing was very appetizing to look at. I stay at a lot of Best Western's around the country, and sad to say' this was not one of my favorite stays. I realize it's an older property but still wondering why it's considered a "PLUS" location.

I was here for 3 days. Didnt have an issue until the last day. If checkout was at 11am why did they tap on the door with a key card and then just open the door. If you dont have the chain or the bar on the door they can walk right in. And they tried that morning 6x despite me saying that I wasnt checking out until 11. What is the purpose of making a guest who pays for the room feel like they can't stay until check out time? I felt so much anxiety I was out by 1030. Never again with this hotel. And when I spoke with the GM he said he would speak with the staff about it but never offered to fix the problem with me.

Nice rooms ,pool nice ,accommdating pleasant stay. Had fun .employees very helpful and rooms nice and clean. Area outside very nice price of hotel reaso able and good promotions . 5 star in my opinion

Terrible experience. I Was a repeat customer! Never again. They refused to clean our room stayed 2days, was Supposed to be 3. They had no towels, I was told that I had to exchange my towels , then when I took towels to front desk I was told that I had to take them to the Laundry room. When I asked where the laundry room was, the front desk clerk jumped all over me. Refused to talk to me. I asked for cleaner or deodorizer because it smelled like skunk in our room and in the hall. She refused to talk to me. I asked for the manager she said he wasn' t there. I asked to call him, she refused. She said he would ne there at 8 in the morning. After bad upsetting night, I asked for the manager. I was told he wouldn't be there until the next day. I had terrible time breathing as there was smoke throughout the hotel. I checked another floor to try to get away from the smoke. It was skunky smelling throughout!

Shower was very slick and needs shower mat. Water was very hard to regulate in the shower and would get either too hot or too cold while showering. Water pressure was not great either. The person at the desk did apologize for it but I didn't make a big deal out of it because I did not feel it was the front desks fault.

We had an excellent experience and will definitely be back. Our room was ground floor right next to the exit ramp for the highway. We didn't hear anything from the cars. We were pleasantly surprised how quiet out room was.

Free coffee and hot chocolate in lobby all the time. Breakfast was good. Microwave and fridge in room. Very nice fitness center. Quiet heat. Quiet room. Location was good. Mattress was very comfortable.

The staff is great. They are so nice polite and are very helpful. the pool is great, its warm and that was great during the snow. The property is well lit and well kept. When it snowed there was always someone making sure the sidewalk was clear

We booked this hotel as a halfway point in our drive to rest. This hotel was pet friendly. We pulled up to the hotel and there was no signage to let you know this was the Best Western. The lobby had worn furniture and a sad looking coffee station. The room was dirty, the carpet grungy and soiled.The furniture was old and scratched. The leather chair was ruined by a scratching dog and should have been removed. The lamps didn't work even after changing the light bulbs. The towels felt damp in the bathroom, and the shower ran either scorching hot or cold. Their were mysterious stains on the walls . I guess you get what you pay for! On a positive note the sheets and bedding were clean and the bed was comfortable and we slept well. Wouldn't stay here again. Could be a nice hotel with some effort and elbow grease.

Long wait at check-in. Clerk was overwhelmed. Seemed to not know how to check-in guests. No one else there to help. Was overcharged on bill. Remote did not work. Torn chair in room. Carpet on baggage cart filthy! I would not use it. Had to carry bags to room.

the hotel was dingy and felt uncared for, the staff smoked at the front door on break, there was no sign at the front entrance, did not take a shower as it looked unclean, half the lights in the room did not work and they have lousy internet. Really poor choice.

if you don't mind clogged, flooding toilets, less than warm breakfasts and a staff who could care less you're their guest..then maybe you would like this motel...From the broken doors, poor maintence, unresponsive staff and handicapped parking moved in favor of electric cars that was the WORST BW we have EVER stayed at...Find another motel..this one if the pits..Oh yes, good luck finding the joint...No sign on the hotel telling one it is a BW plus...Plus what aggrevation

I booked my stay here for our thanksgiving break, the reviews on google only praised the location but when I arrived it was very dated. When we pulled in to check in 2 employees in very very casual clothes . Seemed like only one person knew what they were doing as she was the one that always had to come and help the other employee. Towels in room were dirty. Bathroom wasn't fully clean. Had an issue when one of the toilets clogged Bc of our child and callled it in. No one came so my father looked for the cleaning lady and asked to the thing to unclog the toilet… overall we were able to sleep and stay during the nights but will definitely not be staying here again

There was a mouse in our room and I reported it to the front desk at 8:30, no one ever came to the room. I went down at 2:45 to leave for an event and spoke with the front desk staff. They apologized for forgetting to address the issue and offered to discount the two days of stay and allowed me to switch rooms. While the first night was discounted, the second night was not. there were other things beside the mouse this past weekend. The ice machine only worked on one of the floors worked. A ceiling tile had been knocked to the floor. The doors had to be slammed in order to close in both the rooms stayed in. I have stayed at the location on previous times and have enjoyed the stay, that's why I returned, but this time too many things went wrong, from the mouse to having to switch rooms, to making sure we slammed the door to close each time we left in and out of the room. Overall not a good stay. I appreciated them trying to compensate me with something off for the stay, but it only was for one night.

My wife and I are 64, travel frequently. The handicapped room is farthest away from front desk, kitchen & pool area. Fire alarm was beeping & needed new battery. Pool is tiny, and right off front lobby so every guest coming & going sees you. Kitchen staff very friendly, served hot breakfast and wore mask: Thank you! Dining area is tiny. Would not plan to stay here again.

I stayed here once before in December 2018, and it was okay. This time, in October 2021, I left within an hour of arriving. When I first got to my room, I heard the carbon monoxide alarm chirping because it needed a new battery. When I went to call the front desk to tell them, I realized the phone was absolutely filthy. There were visible dried fluids on it in different places, and when I wiped it down afterwards with a Lysol wipe, the wipe came back quite dirty. Also, when I went to wash my hands a few minutes later, the sink's water came out brown. At that point, I reserved a room at another hotel. I would like to mention that the two gentlemen at the front desk were very nice and helpful. They brought a battery for the carbon monoxide alarm very quickly, and they were very understanding when I left early. I did get a refund.

We come here every month to visit our grandchildren, and this hotel is consistently clean and nice, with very friendly and helpful staff. It is located right by Valley View Mall, on the ring, but is quiet. The staff does whatever they can to make wishes granted. I noticed this time that the hotel had replaced towels and had nice big fluffy ones. Our kind sized bed was SOOO comfortable. Tiffani, Wade and Samantha are gems, and made me feel valued. Love this place!

Our room was clean and comfortable, front desk and housekeeping staff friendly. Love the convenience to interstate, shopping and restaurants. The pool looked inviting but opted not to swim since it was busy with kids, and I was on a kid-free weekend!

Location is good. Staff were pleasant. Room was not cleaned as well as it should have been. Bathroom counter has a big smudge on it that looked like a child's shoe footprint from standing on it. Not sure if it was a staff's child or the previous guest. Was also a child's sticker on the bathroom counter. Shower head is not attached correctly and leaked at the pipe to the point that it would spray out of the bathtub area and onto the bathroom floor, making it more slippery than just simply getting out of the shower wet. Stayed in a room with 2 queen beds, which comfortably sleeps 4 people, but there were only 2 sets of bathroom linens. Why not put 4 sets of bathroom linens in the bathroom? This is a BIG pet-peeve that I have because I frequently travel with other people. Had to ask the desk for more linens, but they only gave me big towels and nothing else. Breakfast does not have enough choices for food. First morning only offered cereal, yogurt, waffles, sausage patties, and biscuits. Literally nothing else. Might as well offer a grab-and-go bag with granola bars and a muffin because I would have preferred those items. Second morning had eggs added, but they were so salty that I had to throw them out after a few bites. Might as well not even have the eggs. I rarely bother reporting things such as this because I am only ever offered to change rooms, and if one room is dirty, they probably all have something wrong. Pretty much leaves you with asking yourself if you are willing to deal with what you already have. Finding another hotel would not have been easy, since this one was already fully booked my second night. Plus, rates almost doubled since I booked months ago. Makes me wonder how others deal with these things paying almost twice what I paid. All I can do is write a review to tell others what happens here.

Very clean. Good breakfast. Staff are working very hard so labor shortage had minimal impact on guests WiFi in room far from front desk was non-existent. Closer to front desk it seemed fine. Fitness room was good.

The room was dirty with garbage by the beds There was a dirty feel and smell. Towel bars falling off the wall. The room key card kept getting deactivated. Someone said they checked us in wrong and this is why. Ice machine was broken.

I stayed in room 228 mold in corner and around the window. Room was extremely damp feeling and musky smelling (not in a good way). Went to go to make a complaint at the front desk, sign at front desk, says SOLD OUT AWAY FROM FRONT DESK. This is a pathetic way to address guests. Will not stay here again. Room stinks and I am stuck. Looks like black mold in corners. If my wife or I get sick from mold.......

My teen son and I travel periodically for travel soccer. We're often in large cities coping with crowds, room shortages, and expensive rates. Our stay in the Roanoke Best Western Plus was amazing. Our room was fresh and clean. The hotel provided ample toiletries to see us through our visit. The grab and go breakfast included with our room was a welcome addition. The fitness center, pool, and laundry room were all convenient, clean, and met our needs. My son needs a combination of weights and cardio to maintain his training regimen when we travel. He was very pleased with the fitness center equipment, I will definitely stay here again during our next visit to Roanoke, VA.

I checked in to the BW Plus in Roanoke for a short stay. The exterior was fine, but the room was dated and had a musty smell. The bathroom still smelled like urine leaving me to believe it was not cleaned properly. This is not the condition nor cleanliness I would expect of a best western plus.

Internet is garbage. Rooms needed basic repairs probably 5 years ago that still haven't happened. Ice machine was broken on my floor. Breakfast was the most minimal of any place I've ever stayed. Only thing good was the pool which had no towels but was clean and maintained at 95 degrees.

First note was new electric charging stations as we arrived. Do not have electric vehicle, but coming changes were welcomed. Room was very good with Comfortable chair! as well as fine bed. was pleasant surprise!

Manager and girl at check in and check out were great. Bobby in housekeeping was awesome. Location was convenient to major roads, a mall and food. However all of our foods were extremely moist feeling leaving everyone feeling sticky. All of our towels felt wet before we used them. The carpet in our room was filthy. Hopefully it will get better. Washed by feet after walking around the room barefooted and took a picture of the washcloth.

I'm a frequent Best Western customer as I've saved my points with them over the years. When we arrived I was greeted by a very friendly lady at the front desk as well as the manager I believe. Couldn't have asked for more friendly professional people. My wife, daughter, her best friend, and I had the pool to ourselves it was great, I used the fitness center as well. The breakfast I thought was very nice kind of limited but everything that was needed. It's an older property but is kept clean I just think it may be time for some new furnishings other than that this is a great place. Thanks again for a fantastic stay. Also great location in Valley View walking distance to dining and shopping

This was our first hotel experience since before the pandemic shutdown, and it was a good one despite my still being creeped out about the idea of a hotel stay. I travel with my disabled adolescent daughter and our emotional support Golden. We were traveling with a friend in a separate room this time. We were able to get two rooms side-by-side, on the first floor, near an exit door, with parking right there. It was perfect. The rooms have mini-fridge and microwave, which are essential for us. The indoor pool was a perfect size for us, and the water was the perfect temperature. The staff, from front desk to housekeeping to maintenance, were all warm, friendly, kind, and helpful. I felt comfortable with the cleaning practices and the commitment of the staff to safety. The only thing that left something to be desired was the breakfast - "odd" scrambled eggs and styrofoam containers. I would vote to lose the eggs and styrofoam and replace with a waffle maker and eco-friendly to-go containers. We were on a short get away from a couple of hours away - the hotel was close enough to everything and easy to get to/leave from for our day trips. Overall this was a great value option

Clean room, Clean Hotel. Price could be better. .Breakfast in the morning could be better. Only serving hot eggs (really salty) and sausage. Overall the place is very good. Keep valuable secured maid walked into room disregarding sign on door stating do not disturb. Not sure what her intentions were.

This was probably the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I was driving overnight from TN to PA and wanted to stop to rest. I called earlier in the evening to see if they had availability and if I would be able to still check in around 3am. They confirmed that would be fine, and that I wouldn't need a reservation. I arrive at the hotel around 3:15am on June 17th, and am greeted by a front desk staff that clearly had just been sleeping in the back and were frustrated with me because I was interrupting their nap. I asked for a room and mentioned the phone call I had made earlier. The staff rolled her eyes at me and mumbled "If we even have anything available." After an overall unpleasant interaction with them, I went to my room. I needed a pet-friendly one since I had my dogs with me. I get to the room and the door is already open. I was sure to go around and check the entire room, as the door being open in the middle of the night is clearly unsettling and I wanted to make sure there was no one in there. The quality of the room was awful, people clearly brought their pets here and just locked them in the bathroom. As soon as I entered, the scent of cat pee was so strong I had to keep my mask on all night. I soon discovered that there was actually several piles of fresh cat pee in the room, so I made sure to keep my shoes on when walking around. I had such a horrible interaction with the front desk staff that I didn't even want to go ask for a different room (and I assumed they wouldn't have another one anyway). I figured I'd just get through the night and leave first thing in the morning. I took my dogs outside to use the bathroom before bed, but when I came back to the room, my key didn't work. Cue another painful interaction with the front desk staff, who obviously had gone back to sleep and acted like I was the biggest pain. I slept there for maybe 4 hours and left as soon as I woke up in the morning. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

I have read some negative reviews about this inn. I would like to say I feel that this Best Western Plus is comparable to most of the many other ones I've stayed at. For the price guests are paying and for what we get, I wish they would not complain. The people working there, including the manager, were very hospitable. I know very well how hard these people must work while the management has difficulty getting employees to help them. I applaud the staff for making it work for all of us guests. Without them, there would be no available rooms to stay in. There would not have been the wonderful breakfast they served us. I liked the indoor pool. It was nice and warm. Many hotel pools are cold. What would have made it great would have been a hot tub, but we were very happy with the pool. The inn seemed to be fairly well maintained. The room was pleasant and comfortable. The inn is in a great location. I would not hesitate to stay at this inn again.

This was a very reasonably priced hotel. The staff was excellent and answered all questions and were overall very helpful. The room was very spacious and clean. The hotel is in the perfect location of shopping and restaurants. If I am ever in the Roanoke VA area again this will be my number one choice of where to stay.

Oh no, no, no. If you're looking for a pet-friendly room try the Hampton Inn across the street. This was an awful, filthy place. The bedding and towels were dingy and stained. The carpet was so filthy shoes are required at all times. The staff was surly. The clientele is a bit scary. There was pot smoking near the back door adjacent to the doggy area. It took half a day to get the smells of sewage and mold out of my nostrils. Just say no to this motel!

We stayed in Room 303 this past Sunday for one night. The room needs renovating badly. The furniture is chipped and stained. There were only 3 thin pillows on the bed and they had all seen better days. My husband and I had to fight over who got the extra pillow. The girl checking us in had an attitude. The only good part was they served a hot breakfast but the eggs were too salty so didn't even eat it. I won't be staying here again.

A hotel in desperate need of a makeover and maintenance. We stayed 1 night as an intermediate location on the road. The first thing we noticed was that they were concerned where we lived in Virginia, more or less than 50 miles away (of course we were way away from home but. ). Apparently, they don't let locals stay there because some local trashed a room so now all locals are not welcome. Our first room was smelly, nothing we could find but it was like a wet dog. The carpets , drapes, and furniture was old and needed fixing and replacing. We went to another room and in minutes, heard a chirping sound - the carbon monoxide alarm needed batteries or replacement. The A/C never turned off but ran despite being set to auto and 75 degrees (needed maintenance). The bathroom was decent but not completely clean and the toilet handle flipped around, again, maintenance! I would not recommend staying at this Best Western until they renovate. It needs serious help and there are other hotels in the same area.

We rented 2 rooms for our party of 4. Our room on the second floor was great, comfortable and clean, with everything working. Our room on the third floor less than ideal -- the air conditioner and refrigerator did not work, the hallway was not clean and had people loitering, the hallway was noisy. The members of our party that stayed on the 3rd floor are not experienced travelers and did not notify the hotel or me in order to resolve the issues at that time. We did report the non-working AC and refrigerator when we checked out, so the hotel has the opportunity to fix them prior to someone else mentioning these issues in a review. My rating is based on the combined experience in both rooms.

After a long day of travel we were looking for a place to stay for the night. We saw the sign on the interstate and pulled off. Actually finding the motel was a little difficult as it sits back behind other establishments and the signage is lacking. The check in staff was apologetic for that but otherwise was very helpful. It was almost 9pm when we checked in and we were looking for a place to eat. She offered suggestions and directions and they even had a typed list of local eateries she gave us. (Some offered discounts for staying there!) The rooms were comfortable and clean. The complimentary breakfast was hot and served on take out trays due to covid. The pool was open but the gym was closed. Towels were wrapped in plastic bags for sanitary reasons. The parking lot even had a hookup for electric vehicles. I would stay here again if the opportunity presented itself.

We are here now and can't wait to leave. Room needs a thorough makeover. Curtains falling off rods and don't close, broken ripped chair that we couldn't sit in and bathroom floor needs a good scrubbing. Had booked this place for our return trip next week but canceled and booked another place across the street

We were visiting the area and stayed about 3 nights, were gone a few days and came back for a night. I'd stay there again but I much prefer the side that doesn't hear traffic noise. The first time we were on 1st floor with reserved awards members parking and that was convenient. The upper floor where the window faces a highway was much noisier so try to get the side that doesn't get the traffic noise. There are a couple of good restaurants almost next door and that's handy. They have coffee available anytime and that's a plus to me.

My family and I traveled to Roanoke for a long weekend. We picked this hotel due to it's location and past experience with Best Western. We were very happy with our stay. Friendly staff and service, clean room and really comfy bed.

Cons: a bit hard to find due to curving streets and freeway. As you drive up to the motel there are no signs visible that this is a Best Western. Pros: capable, friendly, helpful management and staff. Very clean and well maintained. Delicious, free breakfast. Large room, comfortable beds with comforters. Very pleasant décor, fixtures, and lighting. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Room was décor was old (1970's) smelled like musty mildew. Countertops in bathroom was actually built out of 2x4's and 2x6's reminded me of an old motel 6 from the 70's. I could live with if it were just myself on a business trip for a place to crash for the night, but not with family.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay. The 3rd floor smelled of cig smoke and the staff took no action to resolve when the rooms were known. The bathroom floor in the room was sticky, the sink took an extended period of time to drain, staff were very sloppily friendly dressed and did not look professional. Morning staff member could not be recognized as an employee as there was no identification nor uniform. When the cig smoke was not so overwhelming, the general odor was stale with an attempt to cover with excessive deodorizer. All of the offered fruit in the morning was rotten. I was not able to see the other cooked food due to Covid the restrictions so elected not to order as I lost all trust.

My wife and I have stayed here a few times while traveling I-81 and we haven't been disappointed. The first thing I would tell other travelers is that the hotel is off of I-581 and not I-81. So it's a few minutes away from I-81, but definitely worth stopping at. The hotel is easy to access from I-581/US 220 at Exit 3E. There are a good selection of stores and restaurants nearby. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff members are always friendly and helpful. You can almost always expect a clean and quiet stay for under $100. We will definitely be back

Have stayed here previously and have had no issues other than lame breakfast. This location has recently changed the way they do breakfast and I would say that they got it right. Good job done by all !

I stayed 3 nights at this location. It is in a great location by a mall with plenty of shopping and restaurants. I wish I could remember the name of the young man at the front desk. He was the manager or assistant manager, extremely pleasant and helpful. The rooms are a little dated but clean. I had a room with two Queen beds that was very comfortable. They served a decent breakfast to go. All the staff I engaged with was very friendly. There was only a couple minor negatives: 1) Refrigerator did not work well, I kept items cold in my cooler. I let the front desk know and they offered to switch it out but I was ok to make do. 2) Some stains on the carpet, but looked like it had tried to be cleaned up. Other than that, for the money it was a good deal. I would stay again if in the area.

Check in and check out were easy, hotel was clean and quiet. The beds were insanely comfortable, we all slept so well. Some amenities were closed due to the pandemic, but we had a great stay anyway. Hotel is close to stores and restaurants

Conveniently located near Valley View Mall, we were able to drive right up the road to have dinner. The staff was kind and helpful and the room was very clean. We had everything we needed in the room after discovering the microwave and mini fridge were hidden behind the dresser door. Good selection of TV channels and the wifi worked well.

The hotel staff was very nice and polite during check in. The room was very clean. We were very close to the mall where we went shopping. Checking out was very good and the staff at checkout was very nice.

First of all , we only paid $75 per night (not including tax). So, for that price I rate four circles (very good). The rooms really need updating. There was no hair dryer in room but my wife called front desk and they immediately brought one to room. Staff was very friendly, plenty of parking. If you stay there, ask for room opposite of Highway/Interstate. Our room was on Highway side and was VERY noisy due to traffic.

This hotel wasn't expensive but offered very nice accommodations. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was quiet. The only complaint we had was it's a non-smoking hotel and we could smell people smoking cigarettes and marijuana. Can you imagine the smell left in the rooms? Front desk was very helpful allowing us to check in early. I would recommend this hotel for all travelers.

Room was musty like an old room from the 60's. in this day and age, no wifi, i mean not one bar, zero. and when I called guest services, they told me they knew nothing and I had to call their tech dept. which took an hour with no help. the room was right next to utility room, so an air compressor kept kicking on all night.

We come here monthly to visit our grandchildren, and love the convenience of this Best Western. It is always clean, the linens/towels are great/absorbent. We appreciate a safe in the room. There is an indoor pool, 85 degrees, so nice; but you should know you need to reserve it by the hour due to covid. We have been here before covid and enjoyed the breakfast bar, but now it is scant as is everyone's, just milk and fruit. The team at this hotel makes it the best! The new manager Gary, Wade, Bradley, Maia and Tatiana are all so nice and helpful! This is located on the ring road of the Valley View Mall, and there are a number of close by restaurants. Quiet also; I never hear the planes although it is near the airport.

I'm not sure how this hotel has gotten so many good reviews. The girl checking us in was miserable. Upon entering the room, there was a horrible smell. The chair in the room was broken, the light next to the bed was missing a light bulb, the shower looked like it was going to fall apart, there was a hole in the wall and good luck getting the TV remote to work. The room itself was generally clean, but I did find a slug crawling up the wall, better than roaches I guess. My husband doesn't like to make a fuss and it was only two days ago we put up with it.

Our room was ok and up to average Best Western standards. Breakfast was the "Covid-19 grab n go" yet even so, it felt impersonal and lazyish. Hotel is in an odd location, walking distance to some restaurants, but we literally had to drive clear around this mega shopping area to get out. The building itself was poorly designed with elevator at one end and of course, our room was clear at the other end . . . Just not very well laid out for a hotel. I would stay again knowing what I would get for my money but I would probably look around for other options first.

Clean enough. Dated and had a lot of repairs needed. Mostly cosmetic but never seen a BW like that. Nice staff. Fair price. Ok for a night passing through but not longer. Advertises a nice breakfast but only a couple of green bananas and yogurt. Understandable during COVID but its been five months. Change your web site. A simple notice that breakfast is suspended would be the right thing to do.

While on our vacation, we had a wonderful experience at another Best Western Plus, so we decided to try this one as well. Sadly, it fell short of our first experience. The check in was fine, room clean, hotel quiet. The problem was breakfast. Yes, it is during covid 19, but other hotels of your own chain are handling it so well, so why can't you? Went down to the breakfast area to find a small cooler containing green bananas that were no where near ripe enough to eat, small cartons of yogurt, and small cartons of milk. A sign on the door stated “one per customer.” A worker who was obviously assigned to the breakfast area just sat in a room behind the cooler stand staring and saying nothing. Sorry, but this is just taking a cheap, easy way out on the breakfast that is part of your hotel amenities. You can do better.

I'll keep this short: We booked two rooms, and both of us had to move. We even got a third room to avoid a wet carpet, dampness on everything, and musty smells. We had several issues on our second floor adventure, from rooms 206, 208, 209, 212, and finally 213. Moisture was such an issue here that the pages in the book I was reading actually curled overnight. The shower, as Daniel K also mentioned, was either very cold or very hot. Finding that sweet spot was a challenge. Just check the temp before you get in. And even by "COVID" standards, breakfast is practically non-existent here. We were only here for one night, thankfully.

The bed was very comfortable, VERY hot water. The hotel is supposed to be non-smoking, but the entire hotel smelled of cigarettes and musty carpet and walls. The room next to ours was terrible smelling of smoke so the front desk staff moved us to the 2nd floor from the 1st and toward the end, it didn't smell as bad and keeping the room really cold helped. Due to COVID restrictions they were only offering yogurt and bananas for breakfast.

Once again, we enjoyed our peaceful, quiet stay at this BW. The beds are really nice, and it smells clean. Of course some of the amenities have been abbreviated, like no pool use yet, and fewer individually packaged breakfasts, but the team here is fabuous! I was so appreciative of Skeylar, Wade, Maia and Sybil when we stayed this time. The linens were individually packaged as well. I felt very safe.

The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I especially liked that the bathroom had areas underneath the counter to put your items. Also, there was a magnified mirror on the wall making it easy to put on makeup.

Great place to stay. Good location. Spacious room. Staff remembered me from previous stays. Which makes one feel good. As a third shift worker I was not disturbed while sleeping. An added plus was I got points for my stay.

Hotel is in a very convenient location and the beds are comfortable but that's where the positives end. To start, they have a total of 4 handicapped places 2 of which were filled by vehicles with no handicapped tags or place cards so myself and family members had to walk from the opposite side of the building to the front door our first night. There's also a dedicated "battery car" section of parking that's as close as handicapped, but not one car was parked there but we were afraid to get in trouble if we parked there so we were out of luck on parking near the front. Next, the handle in the bathtub completley fell out, the drains in both the shower and sink dont work properly, there was limescale on the shower head and mold in the ceiling above the shower (which they tried covering with wallpaper but it didnt work out like they planned). The closet door never shut properly and the walls/room door is so thin that you can hear every step and word made by anyone out in the hallway. If I knew what I paid for these rooms and what I would have received in return, I would have never booked this hotel and went with another chain next door that I've been to in the past.

We were in town for a funeral and stayed one night in this hotel. We booked because it was just a few minutes from the airport and we had an early flight home. Was very pleased by the experience. Staff (Bob) were friendly and informative and our room was immaculate and well-appointed. We were able to grab breakfast in the morning and it was more than adequate with scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, waffles and an assortment of cereal and breads/pastries. Would definitely stay here again.

Stopped for one night on way south. Reasonable price. Clean. Comfortable. Good breakfast especially the fresh blueberries, blackberries and strawberries. Good wifi. Close to major shopping centre and restaurants.

We were passing-through on a road trip. We have a dog, and since this is the highest-rated dog-friendly hotel in Roanoke, we stayed there. Our room was so dirty that my dog put her tail between her legs as she sniffed the carpet. There was a cigarette stain on the edge of the tub, and the towel rack was hanging off the wall. I couldn't tell if the fuzzy grey in the wall was asbestos or plain old grime. The sink didn't drain very well (filled-up in seconds) and gurgled loudly. My GPS (Google Maps) had trouble getting us to the place (maybe it knew something we didn't?). The staff was friendly; check-in/out was a breeze; the breakfast was very good; parking was easy.

The beds were clean and comfortable. I tried to turn on some heat as it was going to be a cold night, but so much dust came from the unit, I had to turn it off immediately. The room never got too cold. Restaurants in close proximity. I wanted to swim, but the pool looked uninviting and was basically in the hotel lobby, only separated by a glass wall so I used a nice treadmill in the exercise room instead. Breakfast was above my expectations with several hot offerings and fresh fruit.

If none of the reviews mentions rubber duckies, then shame on them. I travel a LOT and have never seen a hotel place rubber duckies in the bathrooms before. It was charming personal touch despite the fact it made me feel like 5 and not 45. Otherwise, this is a good, no-frills hotel. Breakfast is nothing special, but there's plenty of good restaurants (and Walmart and major shopping mall) nearby. Staff, from front desk to breakfast staff to cleaning/maintenance are all friendly. Internet was solid. Rooms are clean and good for business or pleasure. The bathroom with the rubber ducky was very clean, didn't see any mold. Walls are a little thin so keep that in mind if you choose to stay here. If I come to Roanoke would stay here again.

I have stayed in this hotel on 3 different occasions and my experience has been nothing short of excellent. I felt very safe and comfortable and will stay there again if the opportunity arises. I totally recommend it to anyone visiting the Roanoke area!

We come to Roanoke almost monthly to see our grandbabies, and love staying here because it is consistently clean, welcoming, comfortable and has the BEST employees on their team. Everyone is so professional,and is willing to adapt to any request. The manager is Steve, and sets the tone for the team in being welcoming and friendly. We like the cartons of milk for breakfast at the buffet,and appreciate the pool, a safe in the room, and the electric car charging, but the beds are so very comfortable! And a nice touch, they leave little rubber duckies on the tub for you! Love it!

Very clean , nice amenities at the Best Western Plus on Valley View Blvd in Roanoke, Friendly staff and easy access to the downtown area and the Blue Ridge Parkway made our stay a pleasure . We were very pleased with the housekeeping (condition of the room) after being out and about all day.

Every time we stay at this Best Western, we have a wonderful time. The rooms are exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is always fresh and well-stocked. The staff (everyone--housekeeping, front desk, breakfast hostess...) is not only friendly and attentive, but they go well above and beyond to make you feel at home. We absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone passing through Roanoke!

This Best Western Plus is located off Route 81 and very accessible. We travel with a pet so we require a pet room. Our room was extremely clean and fresh. The breakfast is well stocked and tasty. The front staff is very helpful.

Now that we own a dog, we're always looking for hotels on our route with a great pet policy. We found the Best Western Plus Inn at Valley View 4 years ago, and we have stayed here ever since. Not only do they have a good pet policy, but they seem to attract responsible dog owners (and if you've ever stayed in a place that doesn't then you know what I'm talking about). But the real star here is Doris, who prepares the breakfast every morning. This is not your reheated mess. This is scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, grits, real biscuits, waffles and some of the best hotel coffee you've ever had. We love Doris, who's always on top of everything, and a delight. So get a good night's sleep and have a good (free!) breakfast in the morning. We certainly will!

I originally booked this hotel because we were looking for a place that we could stay with our dog. In addition to being as dog friendly as the reviews mentioned, the hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was well appointed and clean as can be, and had all the amenities we could have asked for - coffee maker, ice bucket, makeup remover towels, leather reading chair, work desk with outlets. And the beds were glorious! We will definitely be returning. Thanks BW!

We have had a hard time finding a place where we can stay with a “barker”. Not only did she not bark, she slept all night and so did we! The rooms was big, clean, close to back door and quiet. We stayed here one night on our way North because it was a good meeting place to hand off a visiting grandchild. Will be doing this again for sure.

We spent one night at the Best Western and have zero complaints. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was the standard continental breakfast of waffles, eggs, grits, sausage, fruit, cereal, yogurt, etc. We had our dog with us and had no issues there either. Check-in was quick and easy. I have all good things to say.

Whenever I stay in Roanoke, this is the place I choose. I travel for several events in and around the Roanoke area during the year and I find this Best Western fits my needs. It is within my budget. It is convenient to places I like to eat. It is also close to Valley View Mall, where I like to shop. Staff members are friendly and courteous. Rooms are clean.

We have stayed here a dozen times over the years to attend Hokies games but now dogs are part of the guest list. The yapping every time someone walks buy the dogs room or during the night was surprising and very loud. The noise wafts down the hall. I complained the next morning. The hotel clerk said we signed off on the dogs and he showed me the fine print.Hmmm. I'm trying to get a refund now. But if you ask before you sign in they have to let you know you are sleeping with dogs. Mgt was unsympathetic, rude, uncaring.

Always spotlessly clean, most helpful and friendly staff and comfortable surroundings, the breakfast was ample with excellent choices, the pool was inviting, rooms were equipped with coffee etc and the beds were most comfortable.

The Best Western Plus Inn in just off the interstate extention going up to the Blue Mountain Parkway. The price was OK and the accommodations fine. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious.

Nothing spectacular but clean and has decent service. Conveniently located to get to the Parkway and there's lots of options of things to do in the area. Had a reasonable good breakfast. Have a great time!

Very nice stay. Staff was great and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. A/C blowed a little hard and I couldn't adjust it..Other than that, we were out most of the time. Coolest part? With the soap and conditioner, the had a rubber duckie!

We have stayed at the BW Valley View at least ten times, maybe more, when we are heading to Richmond to visit our son and his family. We have always been impressed with the staff, the rooms, the bedding, the overall condition of the property and the excellent value offered by this location. Nothing new to report about our stay her last week. We had a wonderful, restful evening and look forward to doing so again. It's always great to find lodging accommodations that meet our expectations and the BW Valley View has done so every time we have stayed there. We appreciate the consistency, knowing we can count on the team here to deliver.

We had a terrible experience here. I would never stay here again. Water backed up in the bath tub while showering, toilet ran about every 10 minutes, fitted sheet was too small to cover the Mattress which had a topper. The Room had an unclean feeling and a musty smell. On a positive note, it was affordable.

Everyone is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good and beds were even better. It is well maintained and clean. I didn't use the pool but an indoor pool is always great in cold weather. I will be back.

This motel was one of the better places I've stayed on the road. Everything was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and breakfast was good with lots of selections. My only complaint is that when I walked in the door to check in the desk clerk was on her cell phone and continued to talk while I stood at the desk. Other than that the service was excellent, particularly the staff that took care of the breakfast room.

The Best Western at Valley View in Roanoke is easy to get to from route 81, is located in an area with several nice restaurants, served a great breakfast, has a caring staff, and is pet friendly. It is 5 star in our opinion.

The Best Western was very clean and quiet. Mia and Bradley at the desk were wonderful. Friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good. Waffles, eggs, sausage, grits, fruit, yogurt, cereal. Would definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay here very much for the one night that we were there. Everything was quality and the staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very good quality and functional. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and it was nice to have a recliner too.

We had a wonderful stay at the best Western plus in Roanoke Virginia. The beds were so comfortable the rooms were so clean and the staff was so courteous. I'd like to especially think Bradley Smith and Imelda Silvestre for your wonderful customer service and cleanliness of the rooms.

The stay was excellent. Very simple hotel with decent sized room. Two queen sized beds. Very comfortable. Had breakfast, fitness room, and small clean inside pool. 10/10 except the price. I paid as much for this room as I did for another room in a hotel that had a hot tub in the room. However, this room is shareable with two queen beds so the two may be incomparable.

Pros: Delicious Free Breakfast Friendly Staff Decent Price Cons: We stayed I. Room 122, it was musty. I informed the front desk the fist day and he was going to notify housekeeping. Well, we were there for 3 nights and the room was musty until we checked out this morning. Also the comforter needs to be replaced, it did have a few stains. Overall we normally stay at another hotel when I. The area, but it was booked. We have had a good experiences with the Best Western Premier, so I took a chance here. The stay was just okay, it would have been better if the room didn't smell. I will probably stick to the BW premier hotel line if we do this brand again.

This hotel is a little hard to find, tucked away on a side road near a shopping center off I-581. I saw no outside sign designating it as the Best Western but between GPS and power of deduction, I finally found it. Front desk staff was rather brusque and inefficient and there were several maintenance problems in the room, i.e. burned out bulbs and a faulty shower mechanism. Also the carpet was dirty. On the other hand, the rooms are large and nicely decorated, the fitness equipment is functional, and the breakfast is certainly good enough. I'm not sure I'd try this place again while going through the Roanoke area but it is certainly not a dump and you may have better luck with your experience so give it a try.

We spent one night while on the road. The area where the property is located is very nice. Lovely lobby area. Room was very nice with comfortable beds and good shower. Breakfast was okay. Not too many places to sit in the room where the food is located. Not 30 minutes after leaving we received a call that I had left a pair of shoes in the room. The hotel made immediate arrangements for them to be shipped to our home. Much appreciated!!

I booked this hotel for one night with 2 queen beds. The staff were friendly and efficient with every request. The room was clean and organized. The beds were very comfortable. The desk was very nice and comfortable to be able to use my laptop while staying here. The bathroom fixtures worked well and the lighting was great for fixing my hair. The free breakfast in the morning was pretty good. There was a nice selection of pastries offered, such as cinnamon rolls and danish. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future. I felt like a valued guest here.

Very clean! Staff excellent. Room is awesome! We stayed in room 126 which is a handicap accessible room. We requested one. Very nice walk in shower, room is very big, and decorated nicely. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a very enjoyable stay this time at the Best Western Plus Valley View, and our reserved room was ready and waiting for us; we were welcomed by Wade, who offered us the Rewards Welcome Snack or 500 points. Our room was very clean, and had a really lovely scent. We had a king bed which was one of the most comfortable we have been in. I have stayed in a lot of Best Westerns, but this is the only one so far that has had a safe in the room, which I appreciate. This hotel also offers the option to decline housekeeping (helping the environment) in exchange for accruing an additional 500 points. This hotel is located on the perimeter of the Mall, and is very quiet, and nonsmoking. It has good WiFi, and good hot water for bathing, and they place an adorable rubber duckie on the towels! I love having a fridge and microwave, and the usual quality complimentary breakfast that you serve yourself. There is an indoor pool, but not a children's pool or hot tub. There is a complimentary PC/printer in the lobby. There are many restaurants nearby, including Longhorn, Olive Garden, Red Robin, IHOP, Fridays and Texas Steakhouse. The staff, especially Skyelar at checkout, are so friendly and always willing to do anything they can to make your visit perfect. We rested well in this comfy and clean hotel and will return monthly! Nice hotel and great location!! Wifi wasnt strong but we had an end room on the 2nd floor. Bed was super comfortable! Only bad thing was the room smelled SUPER musty and the bathroom had no vent. Overall an OK stay.

I am becoming a loyal Best Western customer because of the value that you receive for your money. We travel and stay on vacation, college visits, tournaments and all the other personal things... and not on travel accounts. So having a clean, safe place to stay with comfortable beds and great service is a must - without costing a fortune! We stayed here for an overnight because of a college move-in and and after a very long and tiring day were greeted by a very cheery clerk, immaculate (and cool!) room, hot showers and the cutest little rubber duck peeking out from the towels. I am not sure what the duck is all about, but it was a heart-warming treat! Breakfast is fine, coffee is hot and the staff is very, very friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Don't stay at this hotel if you're under 5 foot five or have problems with your legs. The bed is so high, that I was unable to get into it without bringing in a luggage trolley and standing on it. When I asked the front desk for a small stool, they said they were not allowed to give them out. Find another hotel in Roanoke.

We eventually found the hotel and found it a bit difficult navigating around the huge mall. Maybe easier if we had known the area instead of on a tour. However once we got there we were greeted with courtesy and smiles. The room was up to their usual standards and had nothing to complain about. There were many restaurants all close to hand so had no problem finding a place for an evening meal. Breakfast was once again up to their standard. A pleasant stay Keith C

Overall the hotel wasn't bad but upon entering I noticed a mold/mildew smell in the room. The room was nice decorated and clean other then the odor. On out first day things were ok but then the next morning our toilet broke. someone came immediately to attempt to fix it but he was not able to so we had to move to another room. That one had the odor as well. When we were clearing out of the room I discovered the refrigerator had frozen all my beverages. Not really a big deal but an annoyance. The staff was excellent, no problems checking in or out. Breakfast was just ok. Waffles were good, had fresh fruit to go with them. Location was not ideal for my purpose. I probably wouldn't stay there again mainly because it is to far from my niece's house.

Hotel is a lower grade best western plus. Things are old and worn, beds are creaky and dust hasn't been wiped off surfaces for quite some time. I can tell they don't run the AC units in each room to save on cost, but what has happened is every single room smells like mold/mildew from the accumulated moisture. I can see from previous reviews that they have "fixed it" but I can assure you this issue is not fixed and from walking the halls, it's everywhere in the building. I stay in hotels 48 weeks a year for work and was traveling through this area. It would not be my first or second choice when coming back through town.

Over all great place to stay.the staff was very helpful. Has restaurants within walking distance. The mall is also very close by. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Will definitely be staying here on my next few weeks of being in town working.

Best Western Valley View is a nice place to stay. Beds are comfortable and breakfast is nice albeit the breakfast room is very small. We had an issue with a mildew smell and the carpet being wet directly outside of the bathroom floor. Room 227 should not be rented again until that is taken care of.

I was traveling with my family and our dog and we needed a place to stay overnight halfway through our drive. We arrived late, but the hotel staff was so kind as to have saved a room that was somewhat quiet yet pet friendly, as my son is only two months old. It's an older hotel that has some updates, but the AC ran very humid so it felt rather damp in the room. The refrigerator wasn't quite working either but, as I said, it was only an overnight so not a big deal at all. Other than that, the rate was wonderful for a quick stay (I hate to spend more than $125 when we're only resting in between drives and not actually visiting the area), there is a mall nearby for convenience and plenty of great restaurants. Uber Eats was even able to deliver late night Denny's. Breakfast was free and delicious, and I can't speak highly enough of the staff. They made the stay very enjoyable!

On our tour through the US our travelagent booked this hotel. Why escapes us, as the location is of no interest at all and even the town of Roanoke has limited attractiveness. The hotel consists largely of of box of dated, slightly smelly rooms and a small pool occupied by the mostly elderly and overweight guest who even let their dog in the pool. We were happy to depart after one night.

The hotel is in a good location right off of I-515. It has many restaurants and other amenities nearby. All of the restaurants are within walking distance or a very short driving distance. We ate at Applebee's, which was very close to the hotel, and the food was just so-so. The hotel has an indoor pool, but no hot tub. There is a very good exercise room with free weights. The room was very attractive with wallpaper on the walls. There is a very comfortable reclining chair with footstool. You can sit and work at the nice executive desk. The air-conditioning system is reasonably quiet, considering it's the type that is typical of roadside chain hotels. The bathroom is very attractive, with granite countertop. My complaint about this room is the bed, which I thought was too soft and I seemed to sink into it. I might like to add that I am a thin person. I would imagine heavy people might find this an uncomfortable mattress. I guess it depends upon your bed preference, though. Another problem was the toilet, which seem to be filling up with water quite frequently as if I had just flushed it. The towels were large and fluffy. I could not give the hotel a 5-star rating because of the negatives that I mentioned.

The service was awesome. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our AC wasn't working and the staff was very quick and efficient in solving it . Happy with the service. Also, the options for breakfast were better than other best western hotels I have stayed in so far

home away from home. they had it all at a reasonable price. Really loved that they had washers and dryers for guests to use. I give them a 10. I will always use best western whenever possible. I wish we had know about them from the beginning of our trip. felt very safe.

Wasn't fun to get to, a couple of incorrect turns, but property itself was great.Would definitely stay here again.

This was a great hotel to stay at after a long day of traveling. They are pet friendly which is a plus, and their non refundable pet fee is much cheaper than other hotels. Everything from the rooms to the pool area were clean. Breakfast had enough options that the 5 of us all found something we enjoyed. Lastly, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I'd definitely choose this location in the future.

the price was more than I wanted to pay for a tournament that we already extended ourselves in travel. It was decent but there were plenty other motels in the area that were just as good less expensive

This is a very nice hotel with pleasant staff, very nice and clean rooms, and a very good breakfast. I highly rate the hotel and will definitely stay here when in the area. The hotel and grounds are well kept and the comfort of the guest rooms, starting with the very comfortable beds, is extremely good.

Everything was OK, I only felt the room was not updated in sometime. The amenitites and people were great. The room was clean, just needed some updating. If you are looking for a reasonable price stay that is clean, and dont mind some older décor, then you would be fine here.

My girlfriend and I stayed here because we got a good rate and because of my loyalty with Best Western. There were a couple of minor issues, but everything was taken care of efficiently. Bradley was super nice and polite and provided excellent customer service. Our only problem with the room was that the smoke detector had a faulty battery and kept beeping. I talked to Steve the next morning and he apologized and made things right with me and I was pleased with the way things were handled. I would definitely stay here again

Nice hotel with everything you expect from a Best Western Plus. Our flight arrived late and the front desk was helpful and got us into our room quickly. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was good.

I only have one minor issue with this wonderfully comfortable Best Western--the water pressure could use an upgrade. Outside of that the staff is awesome. Especially Steve, Skylar & Alicia (spelling?) and I don't recall the night shift lady's name who was also awesome. They were phenomenal. The beds are to die for (can I take mine home please lol). The mini-fridge although small as is typical in most hotels kept my food the right temp without freezing it or being warm. Early check in was a breeze and as a third shift worker greatly appreciated. Steve one of the managers took care of missing points which was so appreciated. As a corporate lodging person who gets a discounted rate I was treated just like everyone else. Wish all hotels had such respect for us. The rooms are spacious and quite comfortable. The leather recliner is awesome. The bathroom is spacious. There are a few minor things that need attention but the rooms were clean, comfortable and I was treated with respect not disdain as a corporate lodging person. If I am in the area again I would definitely stay again. I'm on my 4th week here now and have 2 more weeks planned here for work (my third shift brain may have missed a week). The go green points are also a huge plus. A definite win here!

We stopped in for some rest on our road trip returning to Georgia. The staff was attentive and polite. The beeakfast was very good! We had scrambled eggs, sausage, breakfast potaoes, danish, and blueberry waffles. We didn't get a chance to swim because it was storming outside, but it looked very clean and nice. The bed was comfortable and there was room for our two pack n plays for the toddlers. The air was a bit musty and the air filter was very dirty, but we assumed it was an older hotel. We were quite satisfied with our stay.

Needed a place to stay on short notice on trip south on 81. Hotel was able to accomodate us. room was clean. Internet worked, pool was a nice touch. Price was reasonable. I expect a clean room as a minimum standard. In general I do not give excellent reviews unless warranted by exceptional service.

Pros: room 111 was clean, water was hot, toilet worked well. Room was quiet. Check-in clerk, though busy, was organized and helpful. Cons: The prox cards for the rooms didn't work well. Internet was basically OK until 11:30PM and then crashed. It was still not working at 9AM the next morning. Not acceptable in this day and age, and working through most of the evening is not good enough. The motel is not easy to find. Finding access to Valley View Rd. is not easy. Then, the sign on the street doesn't show which driveway leads to their hidden motel. Finally, the motel has NO SIGNS ON THE BUILDING. If you don't look on Googlemap before you leave home to figure out how to find the street and more or less which building it is, you will never find it. There is a sign ordinance in Roanoke, limiting the motel to three signs. All of the competitors on the strip have at least one sign facing Valley View Rd., but apparently the owners of the Best Western are too (fill in the blank) to do likewise and have all three signs facing the interstate. Location (relative to Roanoke) : 5/5. Internet: 1/5 (was 4/5 until it crashed). Value 4/5. Overall: 3/5, due to no signs, difficult access and crashed internet.

We were in town for our daughter's graduation from Liberty University and decided to stay in Roanoke. So glad I made reservations at the Best Western. So convenient to restaurants and the mall was nearby.

Very clean, large rooms, very friendly staff and fair room rates. The morning complementry breakfast was very tasty and hot with a large variety. I have stayed at many Best Westerns. this one is one od the nicest.

We stayed here for one night on our way back home. The staff were wonderful very friendly, warm, accommodating and welcoming. I love that its pet friendly but the room really had an odor in it from pets. We had a bunny with us and we have dogs so I understand not everyone is as diligent as I am cleaning after my pets but perhaps the hotel can do a deeper clean on the carpets to avoid the odor in the pet rooms. The room was neat and clean but did have a strong odor from previous pets. Everything else was fine and if you don't have a pet room it's probably a non issue.

We checked in late with no problems and our room was very clean, comfortable and quiet! Staff was friendly & breakfast included typical scrambled eggs etc. Located a few minutes off major highway and near shopping mall & other restaurants.

First off I want to say that they don't just have dog friendly rooms, they really are dog friendly! Even though they have limited dog friendly rooms and they were gone when I tried to book, the attendant last night was able to get us one! I was going to use the booking site for the room which gave me a discount but when I got to the page where I could pick my room type I couldn't find a room that said it was dog friendly. So I called the hotel directly. I told them my issue. Not only did he find us a room he gave me a better price than my booking discount! The hotel was very modern and clean. The staff was super friendly and breakfast had many options. It's located in the middle of a huge shopping center/mall and there are a ton of restaurants, too. It is right off the Interstate 581 and 81 near Roanoke, VA And ladies....there is a magnifying mirror on the wall in the bathroom!!! This is a big deal for my old eyes!! Al in all much better than I ever expected from a Best Western hotel. We will stay at them again!!

The staff when I called up to tell them I am going to be later. Said no problem, we understand. They held my room. When I finely got there the front desk Clerk was helpful when we needed things in the room. All the staff looked out for us

We stayed here because it was pet friendly and I guess the pet friendly should have given us a clue that the cleaniless/upkeep of the room might not be wonderful. We were disappointed in our room because it had an odor when we checked in and there were no other rooms for us to move to because the hotel was booked. That said, the location of the hotel was great.

This lovely hotel is located on the ring road around Valley View Mall near the Roanoke Airport, and is always spotless. There is a PC in the lobby if you need to print tickets, and an indoor warm pool, and the rooms are very comfortable, clean, with plenty of towels, hot water and a rubber duckie! There is a nice swivel chair/ottomon for TV watching as well as a desk/chair. Carpeted and such a comfortable mattress. There is a breakfast free, which had hot eggs, sausage and stuff but we just wanted milk and pastry; it is from 6-10. Wifi was great. Free parking outside. Lots of nearby restaurants surrounding the mall. Everyone was so nice, from Patrick at checkin to Skylaire at checkout. There is a coin operated washer/dryer as well as a gym also.

I stayed here for the nights of December 7th and 8th, 2018. The front desk staff were very polite to me both late at night when I checked in and early in the morning when I checked out. My room was clean enough. There was a small red stain on one pillowcase, but I have seen much worse than that in other hotels. The desk and other furniture were in good shape. I was glad to see that the room had a “Clean Remote,” for the TV, which many hotels have gotten recently. I would consider this hotel to be in a very convenient location, as it is near the Valley View Mall and many restaurants and other stores. I-81 is close by, and downtown Roanoke is maybe ten minutes away. I will note that there was absolutely a strong weed smell in the hallway one night, but I don't blame the staff for that.

The property is in a village-like area, with stores and plenty of restaurant choices which was great. The room was fine, comfortable beds and reasonably up to date. There was a complete selection of breakfast foods and all were well prepared and stocked.

This hotel is so clean! I checked in New Years Eve. My flight arrived early and the guy at the front desk let me check in early, Thank you so much! He was very pleasant and kind. Everything in this hotel was so nice and clean. They have the most comfortable beds ever! I would choose this hotel over any hotel in Roanoke! Its that nice! And they have a cute lil rubber duckie to welcome you to your room in your bathroom. That is a nice touch!

The Best Western is a comfortable, clean, pet friendly stop in Roanoke. Note that they do charge a pet fee and you are required to crate your pet when you leave the room. Super soft towels and comfortable bedding. The staff is friendly and helpful and there are plenty of places for dinner and breakfast nearby. Our one complaint was signage—the hotel is challenging to find as there are no BW signs in the front of the building. The free breakfast offering is just OK—we went to a nearby Starbucks.

the outside of this Best Western was not particularly attractive but inside was nice. Our room had a king size bed and still had a good amount of space for the desk and lounge chair. Initially the room had a sweet perfume smell probably from cleaning materials but it seemed to have disappeared by the time we returned from dinner. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Staff was courteous and the desk person was helpful when we could not access the internet. Breakfast had a nice selection but the scrambled eggs were not very warm.

We love to come to this hotel each time we spend a day or more in Roanoke. My kids love the pool and the hotel room cleanness. hotel staff usually goes above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast is nice and clean.

Best Western always keep its good quality standard. Clean and neat room with friendly staff. The add on beauty of ValleyView Inn is their recliner sofa chair. It is so comfotable that I almost fell in sleep on the sofa than sleep on the bed.

Overnight stay in Roanoke VA, we stopped at this hotel- very convenient to the interstate. Lots of shopping/restaurants right beside the hotel. Nice pool- free breakfast buffet was excellent! Hotel staff (especially Mia!) were very friendly and helpful

We stay at this Hotel 8-10 times per year. It is a great place t0 stay. Clean and comfortable and the staff is top notch. If you need a place to stay whhile in Roanoke VA this is that place. You won't be disapointed.

The Best Western Plus was great. I work at the local hospital and needed a place to stay in town due to the snow storm that was coming. Check in was great, rooms were clean, bed was comfy, breakfast was good. Originally I only reserved one night at the hotel, but realized I wouldn't be able to drive home in the snow on my original check out day. Adding the extra night was easy and fast when I checked in. All hotel staff was polite and friendly. And breakfast started at 6am on the weekends, which was great because I was able to eat before heading off to work. That was a huge plus! Overall, it was a great stay and I would stay here again!

We love having a first room floor at this hotel and our request so far has been granted. The staff is very kind and answer questions with no problems. 24-hour coffee and tea is a plus. We stay here on the road to our son's house. This location is off the interstate a bit but there are nearby restaurant choices that work for us.

I traveled with my wife and 9 year-old to visit family in the Roanoke area for three nights over Thanksgiving, and we had a great experience at this hotel. Check-in was easy and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was good and convenient every morning. We've stayed in a few different local hotels over the years, and this is one we'll definitely be coming back to for another stay. The staff here definitely takes pride in their work and it shows - the property is in great condition and all of the staff were kind and welcoming to guests.

Definitely a "Plus". Exterior, lobby, dining area, pool and room all upscale for a BW. I'm a Platinum member and this is one of the nicest facilities I've visited. Front desk staff person just added to the enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.

I thought the pool would have been a lot bigger looking at the picture but only 3 and half ft deep, at least it had one.Room very nice and staff very helpful. Could improve on breakfast just not very hot. There is a lot of close resturants hard to choose at night.

Used this hotel for a one night stop travelling from Shenandoah Vally to Colombia SC. Perfectly adequate for a one nighter with plenty of standard chain type restaurants within 5 minutes. The actual hotel does not have a restaurant but does offer a basic hot breakfast and does have a small open all year indoor pool.

Great location for shopping and restaurants. Easily accessible from the freeway. Just off 460 in Roanoke and a few miles from Vinton. Great breakfast items and well maintained by staff. Have stayed here a number of times and never disappointed.

Check in was friendly and efficient. Our room appeared nice and clean, but we were overwhelmed by a strong musty odor. We put the air on, and hoped it would be better by the time we came back from getting our dinner. After being gone an hour plus, the room wasn't any better when we returned, but we we were too tired to try and swap out rooms and decided to just deal with it, that was a mistake. We both had a terrible sleep. The musty smell kicked up our allergies something terrible. The mattress is also very firm, it was difficult to get comfortable. We should have planned on breakfast out too, but we just wanted to eat and get going. The omelet was hot, but the sausage gravy and biscuits were not. The potato/onion/pepper/sausage crumble could have used a bit more time to heat also. I skipped the juice and coffee, took water from my cooler from home. On the positive, the room was a good price and it's convenient to the mall and the Roanoke Star. The hotel is also very pet friendly for those who have dogs (we do not).

I stayed 4 nights while hiking in the nearby mountains. As a hiker, I'm obviously concerned about changing weather and I especially appreciate the “no penalty” cancellation policy (which is getting harder and harder to find coupled with a good nightly rate). The room and bath were spotless and there was no noise from the parking lot, hallway or next door rooms. The complimentary breakfast was pretty standard and had everything I like. The location was perfect: just down the street from the large Valley View Mall, Walmart and dozens of restaurants; and, about 15 minutes from parking for McAfee Knob, 20 minutes from Dragon Tooth parking, and 25 minutes from the Andy Layne Trail for Tinker Cliffs. Staff were friendly and efficient. I had a great trip, including beautiful weather.

We stopped one night n our way to the Smoky Mountains - the directions on the website could do with updating as the Sat Nav had said we had arrived but we were in a shopping mall car park and we couldn't find the hotel anywhere and had to ask someone. It is hidden. Reception staff were welcoming and our room was clean and functional. Tea and coffee available in reception. Breakfasts were basic and self service. There is a coin operated washing machine and drier on the one of the floors which guests can use which was useful. There is a small swimming pool but we didn't use this. Parking available.

I had a great stay here for my business trip. The staff were extremely helpful and were able to get me into my room early. They were also able to shuttle me to the airport in the morning to catch a 6:00am flight which was excellent.

Room had a musty odor. Air condition unit looked old and did not cool room sufficiently. Toilet kept running on and off all night. Recliner in room had a broken arm. Bathtub had hairs in it when I checked in.

We got a mandatory evacuation notice from a hurricane. It was 1am. We had the impossible task of finding a hotel that accepted our cat. I called the Omni. I called the Hyatt. Best Western Plus in Roanoke was the only hotel that answered its phone, gave me polite responses to my questions, accepted our cat, and gave us a reservation over the phone. The other hotels just told me to call back in a few hours. They didn't care that we didn't have a few hours. We arrived in Roanoke five hours later after an exhausting overnight drive. They saw our plight and let us check in at 7am. They took care of us our entire stay. They never hesitated to go the extra mile to make us feel at home. The room was clea, breakfast excellent. It had a wonderfully maintained indoor pool. To be honest, I usually only go to the more expensive hotels. Best Western surpasses them all and earned itself a lifetime of our business. Thank you.

The hotel is within walking distance of several restaurants. Room was very clean, beds was very nice and comfortable. The have a washer and dryer for the use of the guess. Good breakfast too. We will be back on our next trip.

Vacation in New England and parts of the southeast. Location was ideal for overnight between Connecticut and Savannah. Lots of shopping and dining options in the immediate area. Nice clean and quiet location. Awesome staff and breakfast. Definitely one to keep in mind.

This hotel was just what we needed and an unexpected find after a long drive. It is located near a mall and lots of dining options as well. There was a wonderful indoor pool but we didn't get to try it because we were in a hurry. What this hotel DID provide was great service. The desk staff in particular were very welcoming and made our time at the hotel pleasant. Rooms were clean, quiet and very pet friendly. I would stay here again.

The reason for stopping in Roanoke was simply because it was a good place to stop after a day of driving on the final stretch of out road trip. It was close to the interstate but to get to the hotel you had to drive through a very congested area behind the shopping mall. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, but almost too many as the traffic in the area jammed up quite a bit in the evenings. Of all the hotels that we stayed at on our road trip that offered a breakfast bar this one was the worst. The breakfast area was very small for a hotel this size, chopped up into three sections, very crowded, very unorganized. I've made remarks in the past, and asked at different locations about the differences between a Best Western Plus and just a Best Western. I saw nothing "Plus" about this one, looked pretty typical. There was a small indoor pool in the front lobby area, maybe that gave it a plus rating? At the end of our annual road trip I reflect and review all the places we visited. It's not that there is anything bad about the Best Western Plus Inn at Valley View, it just that it was the least liked place we stayed at.

Hotel was clean and quiet. Breakfast was great. Washer and dryer available for traveling families. AAA discounts available. My 2 year old loved the rubber ducky in the room and the fruit at the front counter

This hotel was well situated to the airport and shopping. The room was a nice size with a comfortable chair and ottoman in addition to a desk, chair and small side table. I wish that the refrigerator had a small freezer compartment as we travel with an insulated bag that used ice packs. We discovered that a cup from a local restaurant was left in the refrigerator. The bathroom towels were nice and fluffy. I hope when they renovate again that the TP dispenser will be put in a more convenient place. The mattress was super comfy and the linens felt very nice. I prefer to have a duvet in a cover that is changed with every room change. This place didn't have that setup. The breakfast room was tight. There is a small ante room with three table for additional seating for larger groups. There was a nice variety of hot foods from which to choose. It was a nice stay.

We are diamond members and try to use BW Plus as much as possible when traveling. My first stay here was in 2016 while coming here to look at a house to buy. I was impressed by the reclining chair in the room. OMG The best in any hotel by far. So we had encountered weird staff then and now again two years later. Maybe people are weird here but I think it's just the ones they hire. Management do better with training and teaching to smile. After a long day of driving nobody wants to have a moody and slightly strange person take their money. And clean the pool area more its 's a mess!

After a hell night of driving back from vacation in Nashville, and in need of checking my husband into the ER at the hospital all we needed was somewhere to sleep during our ordeal. We get to the Best Western around 12:15am , there is no one at the desk, we yell hello a few times, stick our heads into the "Staff Only" area and yell hello, even call the hotel directly while standing in the lobby, there is no one. The phone wasn't answered and the desk never manned. Needless to say we left. Very disappointing.

Far enough away from the highway that you don't hear road noise but close enough that it is easy to get to and, to venture into Roanoke. Located conveniently near shopping and many restaurants. This is a smaller hotel, only 3 stories, but has all the amenities needed for a quick stay. This is the 3rd time I stayed here in five years and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. Standard breakfast as all other BWs I stay at. 2 flavors for waffles was a nice surprise. Room was clean and comfortable. In room refrigerator large enough to unpack the traveling cooler. Only bummer was there wasn't a freezer in it for me to refreeze my ice pack. I would stay again if I have a need for the area.

Arrived late recently, had reserved a room prior to. Check in was easy though the clerk was somewhat indifferent. Put us up on the third floor, room was clean and comfortable. BW needs to improve the in-room coffee as well as their complimentary breakfast, I'd gladly pay 5 or 10 bucks more for better.

The destination was a bit farther from home than I realized but my check was fine and my checkout was terrific. The hotel is extremely clean despite the amenities being very well used while I was there.

Very nice hotel. Good staff interaction - the front desk person was very friendly, our check-in fast and when we passed 2 different hotel employees on the way to our room, they both smiled and greeted us. Made us feel good. Our room was clean and a cool temp, no musty smell, and everything worked. We laughed out loud when we looked in the bathroom and found a little rubber ducky on the edge of the tub! Good towels, good water pressure and most importantly, it was clean with nice smelling shampoo and soap. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of items. We felt the price wasn't bad for what you get. We would definitely stay here again!

Best Western in Roanoke has everything that makes for a pleasant hotel stay; Plus! Clean, roomy bath, large tub, luxurious towels, Plus a rubber Duckie! Comfy bed, with a warm blanket. Well appointed room, Plus a leather reclining chair with foot rest! Indoor pool. Breakfast buffet with hot entree. Pleasant staff. I had been traveling for 2 weeks and this stay was the most pleasant and comfortable of all my travels.

The staff was great. Someone pulled the fire alarm the morning we were to check out. They were great in keeping us updated on the situation. During a very stressful situation, the staff was calm, cool, and collected.

Located a short hop from downtown and close to the airport this BW is a great find. Comfortable beds, toiletries included and a coffee maker in the room. A free breakfast is available with a few hot items. But the attention to maintaining a clean room can't be understated... right down to a “Clean Remote”!

We stay here several times a year when heading to Richmond to see family. We have always had a very good experience here; good staff, clean and well maintained facility, and a reasonable rom rate. It was no different this time, with one exception. When I tried to open the door with my pass key, it did not work. And much to my chagrin, I was staying at the greatest possible distance from the front desk. So I took a walk and the staff member had to revalidate the pass key. Thankfully, it worked when I returned to the room, where my wife was patently waiting. We'll continue to stay here as long as the property and staff remain as is.

Last night my husband and I checked in. We are very pleased hotel is clean and rooms was nice & tidy. My daughter played in the pool. She got out to use the bathroom the girl at front (Sana) Sona ) offered my daughter towels and coloring book. She was very sweet and hospitality was over top. We loved her greeting she was very welcoming! We will definitely be staying here again. Just one suggestion the front of the building didn't have a best western sign. Thank you God Bless!

This place was very nice, especially for the price. Clean room and hotel, nice breakfast. They have a washer and dryer that guests can use. The bed was very comfortable. Don't be afraid by the price, it is a nice place to stay.

we were traveling with our dog and the pet friendly rooms are near a convenient back entrance on the first floor. though the rooms are pet friendly, they are very clean. the only draw-back is if your room is right next to the door, you hear it bang as guest go in and out

We stayed here while traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was conveniently located near the mall, Walmart and lots of dining options. The room looked nice and felt clean. The toilet was clogged upon our arrival, so after a trip to the front desk I was offered a plunger, which fixed the issue. At the breakfast had multiple hot and cold options but was not very tasty. When people passed through the fire doors to take the stairs, the doors would slam shut shaking the closest rooms doors. We weren't staying in one of those rooms, but I feel bad for those who were. I think this hotel was a little overpriced and for the money, I would try one of the competitors.

Great stay except for a 27 minute check in on this trip that should have been no longer than 10. The desk clerk should realize that there were a number of people checking in who had just come in from the road. A second desk clerk was training and unschooled in what to do. The senior staff spend a great deal of time talking to a pizza delivery guy, needed to shift to bail out the new worker, and then took a chatty long time to check in the guests waiting in line ahead of me. Those waiting behind me were rolling their eyes. As always there needs to be better signage to find the hotel for those traveling from distances. Remember that many people who stay here are driving an extra distance from I-81.

Stayed in this hotel for 1 night back in March. It was average. The person at the front desk checking us is was very nice. Very quick and easy check in. Good selection for breakfast. Loved the handrails in the tub/shower. WiFi worked well and did not require a password (while we were there). Ok for a 1 night stay.

We found the Best Western Valley View to be everything we expected. The building is well-maintained, the rooms are clean, and the staff are professional and helpful. Location is also excellent in terms of access to the highway, and being only a few minutes from downtown. Despite backing onto the highway, our room was very quiet and private.

Room was good, large room and comfortable bed. Clerk who checked us in was very helpful, gave us directions to the Star on Blue Ridge Parkway. Breakfast was wonderful, they have delicious muffins and wide selection of items for breakfast. Breakfast room is small but additional seating is available in and around breakfast room.

The staff was very nice /friendly very nice place to stay. Very nice breakfast. Very clean rooms. Loved the area. We have stayed in alot of motels, can't say anything bad about it. Very helpful staff with a good attitude.

Nice hotel. Clean. Surrounded by plenty of shopping and restaurants. Beds were a little soft but overall a nice hotel. Management went out of their way to help us out when a guest of ours had to cancel at the last minute due to going to the hospital.

When selecting a hotel/motel for an evening's stay, I usually gravitate toward a Best Western, if one is available. I'm almost always glad for the decision. The Roanoke BW was no exception. It was conveniently located near shopping and a number of restaurants, and provided ample parking. A full size luggage cart was provided, always a plus. The room itself was spotlessly clean, and all the appliances in working order. The bed was quite comfortable, with an ample supply of pillows. The heating system was very quiet and performed flawlessly. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, with a selection of food to satisfy everyone. Kudos again to BW!

We make this a stop 2x a yr for travel with our small dog. They are always accommodating and friendly. The hotel offers nice outdoor area for dogs and does a nice job in maintaining a clean hotel while allowing pets.

This hotel was average. It was clean but needs updating. The staff is friendly. I would have appreciated a comfortable outdoor seating area that was separate from the people smoking outside the pool area. My other suggestion is to install more towel holders in the bathroom. My husband thought the mattress was poor because he has a finicky back.

Great stay for an overnight while we were visiting colleges with our daughter. Will definitely stay here again. Room was clean (room 314). Nice touch with the rubby ducky in the tub. Bed was very comfortable.

The front desk people, both check in and check out, were very friendly and helpful, as were all the other people working there. It was a quiet place and close to eating places and close to stores where you can obtain that 1 item you always forget to bring.

Room was clean and plenty of large soft towels available and staff was helpful and pleasant. Staff spent time going over possible dinner choices in restaurants locally and came up with a nice place with good food.

All employees gave great service. Breakfast was very good room and hotel very clean the swimming pool is nice clean everybody catered to us being uncomfortable no problems with check-in or check-out the night shift front desk person was very helpful again getting us a room under are reward points

After long day on the road, was nice to pull into this Best Western! Clean, comfy rooms....friendly staff....large bath room all needed after being in the car for hours. Highly recommend! Breakfast was the usual fare, but nicely served.

We were travelling to Florida. Stopped there for the night. Recently renovated, we got the room for a mere $75 on my Best Western Rewards number. Close to a bevy of restaurants, you can easily walk to your favourite food.

We travel with two small dogs and look for pet friendly hotels along I-81. This is a little off of 81 but well worth the detour. It's clean, comfortable and the staff are friendly. Good value for the money. Pet area is grassy and waste bags are provided. Hotel is in a great location in a large shopping area. We were able to find a restaurant open late at night on Easter! I was afraid we'd be out of luck for food since we arrived after 9 pm. We will be back!

I called the hotel early the day of our arrival to see if they'd let us in to our room early because my dad was not feeling well. They let us in our room at 11am. We were so appreciative of Lori & the staff! It meant a lot because he just wanted to lie down & relax. We were 5 hours away from home & on the 2nd day of our trip. Our room was literally spotless. The beds were wonderfully comfortable! The breakfast room is pretty small but it was what you'd expect for breakfast food. It was good & the lady working the room was super sweet! The only gripe we had (Rm#317) is the shower was really hard to get adjusted. Either too cold or too hot. Otherwise, keep up the good work!!!!

Check in was long due to computer issues. Everything else was fine. Room was very clean and mattress was comfortable. The best amenity was a chair and ottoman with a sufficient reading lamp. The breakfast area is small but adequate. The food was typical but an added touch was half an orange wrapped in Saran Wrap. Would certainly come back to this property .Staff was very courteous.

I was here on just one assignment and decided to stay at this BW because it was close to where I needed to be. Patrick, the guest attendant, was friendly and courteous and made me feel welcome. The room was clean and fresh. The king sized bed was quite comfortable. There was a rubber duck by the bath tub! Pretty funny and I found out later it was a part of their tradition at this BW. I like that. When I was done with my assignment, I found out that I had another one. I quickly called BW and Patrick made sure I had a room. This room was a handicap room but was still very clean and fresh smelling. The king sized bed was just as comfortable. The bathroom should accommodate a handicapped person and I got another rubber duck! There are chain restaurants nearby. The breakfast at the BW is typical for the chain. The kitchen attendant was friendly and courteous. The staff here sure know how to make me feel welcome! I would go back again!

Excellent location next to multiple restaurants and stores. Hotel is off street and quiet. It's a newish setup with hot water instantly available. The mattress had a pillowtop which increased comfort. The room was smaller but well appointed with newer linens. The staff were friendly and not intrusive. We enjoyed the breakfast bar which was high end for BW with bacon, omlettes and waffles and is open to a generous 10am. The breakfast are is small though, just a heads up. We will add itvto our stopover list.

Stayed here for a school visit my daughter had a couple of weeks ago. We were greeted with this adorable ducky in the bathroom. I booked 2 rooms and they both were great! The staff was warm, friendly and happy. The management was visible and kind. Breakfast was available but did not have time to try it, but the cookies in the evening were yummy!!!?? Location wad perfect for us. Right off the highway, 5 mins from the mall, airport and tons of restaurants??. 10 mins from the school central to everything we needed. Would come back in a heart beat!

We stayed one night on our way south, and really enjoyed our rest! The hotel is clean, rooms are very comfortable (the "plus" really makes a difference!) and breakfast is hot and delicious. We will stay again any time we are on the road.

Stayed here for one night to visit Black Dog Salvage. I searched it on TripAdvisor and chose it based on price and reviews. The lobby and breakfast area are on the smaller side but very clean and seemed new. Our room was on the larger side and everything seemed very clean and new. The bathroom was average in size and it too seemed very new and very nice. I would stay here again.

Clean hotel. Good location. Nice room and furnishings. Great bed and bedding. Nice towels. Unfortunately no hot water for our showers (2 people). Nice shuttle van driver. We liked that the coffee filter tray was also wrapped new in plastic since it was separate from the coffee.

Was looking toward to a nice hot shower but was disappointed. Wasn't cold but barely warm. Poor WiFi , could not use internet on my phone. Room could be vacuumed better but rest of hotel was clean. Staff was pretty friendly but not exceptional compared to other BW. Breakfast was good. Pool area was warm and inviting, water was warm. Not our favorite BW.

Stayed here because it was the only place that would take dog. Large gap under door..feet like i was sleeping in hallway. Very loud first floor. Uncomfortable bed and dirty sheets. I was itching all night! I didn't feel particularly safe either.... Bathroom old and gross. Keep driving.

Stayed 1 night in December while driving cross country with 2 kids and a very senior dog. From the first booking conversation to check out, we felt welcomed and satisfied with the our room, the service and breakfast. Well worth the price. Received a 1st floor convenient room for dog walks. Room was clean and well laid out. Reception and staff were friendly and helpful. Appeared happy to answer questions. We liked it so much that we booked a Best Western Plus for our next stop in Little Rock, Arkansas. Big mistake. It did not come close to this hotel. Would stay again. Thank you for making our stressful trip much easier!

I have stayed at this Best Western a couple of times when driving north or south on Highway 81. It's a great option for the Roanoke area. The only issue with the hotel is finding it, tucked behind a shopping center in a warren of side roads. Make sure to use your GPS when looking for it.

1st stayed here in March of 2016 when I was moving from AL to CT. I was traveling alone but my spouse made the reservation for me and our dogs. Upon entering my room, after a 10 hour drive, I immediately felt comforted and welcome. We typically make the CT-AL-CT round trip at least twice a year to visit family, and Best Western Valley View has become our mid-trip ‘home away from home'. 1st floor rooms are typically occupied by pet owners but you'd never know it. Carpet and linens are clean and rooms smell fresh. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and meticulously maintained. Room decor is warm and inviting and it seems like the whole place is smiling at you. Management is truly on their game and staff is always friendly. I honestly look forward to our stays here and would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a clean, comfortable, and affordable place to stay in Roanoke, VA.

Great location. Perfect pet friendly hotel with clean rooms and breakfast. Staff was very courteous and helpful. We stayed at end of hallway so we had easy access to take the dog out late at night which was a huge plus.

Room was elegant, very clean and was beautifully appointed. Towels were extremely soft and bright white. The breakfast bar was to die for. It had everything (i.e., pastries, blueberry waffle mix w/fresh strawberries & whipped cream, biscuits & gravy, home fries, sausage, eggs w/cheese, oatmeal w/various condiments, juices, milk, coffee & tea. Everything was so great we already have another reservation.

I enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Plus Inn at Valley View in Roanoke, VA. It's a very clean hotel located next to a mall and 2 minutes from the main highway to get you anywhere in the area. The hotel itself is very clean and updated and the stay includes a nice breakfast. There was a lot to choose from. The rooms had some nice amenities that i didn't expect from a budget friendly hotel. Overall, this is a very nice place to stay.

The hotel itself was good, beds comfortable, however, front desk staff upon raising a complaint on even showing a picture of the issue seemed to care less. I spent two nights at the hotel and I pulled back the sheet covering the duvet I found a large stain on the duvet that can only be described as dried blood or fecal matter. This stain was about three inches round and not easy to miss. How house keeping would make a bed like this is unbelievable. I even followed up with an email hoping to get some sort of apology or concern from management but nothing, I travel to this location a few times a year as a stop over heading north and south but based on experience not likely to stay again.

Outstanding hotel and the employees are exceptional. We enjoy traveling to the south. This hotel is one of our favorite stops while on our way to Louisiana. We highly recommend this facility. The breakfast is delicious.

We made a special stop here at Roanoke to visit the Links Train Museum on our way home from Florida. All the staff members are helpful & friendly. Our king room is very clean with excellent bed & nice duvet. Breakfast is wonderfully prepared with a nice variety of food items.

Nice Clean Hotel, Close to restaurants and a Shopping Mall. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was tasty, and well put out. The in room Wi-fi worked well. This is the second time I have stayed here and will do so again if i am in the area.

This appears to be a fairly new hotel. Our king room was spacious, with a nice sitting area that included a wonderful leather recliner. The bed was very, very comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious with granite countertop and cherry cabinetry. Wonderful shower. At least 4 sets of thick, thirsty towels were provided. We were adjacent to the airport, but never heard a single plane or any other outside noise. We could, however, hear noise from the unit below us. The staff were all very friendly and eager to please. We would definitely stay here again. Convenient location, too!

This Best Western is very clean and the mattresses were excellent. The continental breakfast was also quite extensive and very good. We need to eat solid breakfasts and did not need to go elsewhere for additional food, which was a nice surprise.

I had stayed here once before, so when my flights were cancelled due to bad weather, I immediately called this hotel to check availability. I had turned in my rental car, but it is 5 minutes from the airport and it offers a free shuttle. The Valley View Mall is across the street so walking to it was easy. There are also nice restaurants and a movie theater nearby. The breakfast was great with both hot and cold items. The staff was wonderful — everyone was nice, offered help, and followed through. I would definitely stay here again!

The best experience I have ever had while traveling during my career and having stayed in many hotels. The staff could not have been more professional and helpful. The hotel was quiet, clean and very convenient. The rooms are clean, spacious and the service was great. The parking lot is well lit, which as a woman traveling alone I really appreciate. I will definitely stay again. In fact I have already made my reservation for my next trip. You can not go wrong with Best Western Plus Inn at Valley View. Room 102 had noise coming from some pool motors outside the room, the night manager investigated the problem and promptly moved us to a quiet room with the same king bed and amenities. Just fantastic service! Well done! Comfortable beds, great fitness center. And quiet area.

This Best Western experience was everything we needed, clean, comfy room and bed, coffee maker, fridge, and pet friendly. Stayed a few years ago and just as convenient as remembered. Perfect halfway stop between Florida and New Hampshire with a decent rate, and reasonable $20 pet fee. Our little guy really enjoyed the rubber ducky ??Our ground floor room was close to the pet area, worked out great. Pretty quiet too. Nice variety of eateries close by as well as a shopping mall. We tried Abuelo's Tex Mex which was delicious. Guest service reps friendly and helpful via phone and front desk. Didn't have time to experience breakfast but it smelled great! Will definitely stay again, recommend!

The location is perfect for going just about anywhere. Reservations were easy. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and the bed was really comfortable, like a new mattress. The breakfast was one of the best in this type of hotel.

We were lost after spending over 2 hours of stopped traffic on 81N. We called the hotel for directions. The general manager, Lori, told us to stay put and she would be right over and we would follow her to the hotel. Her act of kindness was definitely above and beyond. Best Western should be very proud to have her as an employee!

The hotel is situated near the airport with a shuttle available upon request. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was firm and sleep came easy. A little noise from the interstate, but not enough to prevent an enjoyable stay.

Usually stay at a Holiday inn annually in Roanoke, next year will come back to the Best Western, my wife likes it better. Very quiet compared to other hotels, clean, comfortable rooms. Easy to get to, lots of parking, friendly staff.

I stayed here for 3 nights, having chosen Best Western Plus for its pet-friendly accommodations. The front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean. It was located close to the pet area outside. The hotel is conveniently located just off 581, close to the airport and the Valley View Mall (lots of restaurants nearby). I will definitely stay there again!

Good place to stay enroute from Canada to Florida. About half way to our Florida condo. Comfortable, convenient and good restaurants nearby. A shopping center in walking distance. It is a ways from highway 81, but a manageable distance.

I have stayed here several times in the past two years and it's always a pleasure. A wonderful property and an outstanding staff. You can spend more money in Roanoke for lodging but it won't buy you a better experience than you'll receive here!

Clean and comfortable, this was a very good choice for the price. I appreciated that the bath had plenty of towels, and the makeup mirror was an excellent addition to my morning routine. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

Hotel is conveniently located off I-81. It is at the end of a large group of similar chain hotels. The lack of signage on the building should be remedied. Our king room was large and conveniently located near the lobby.

Friendly check in. Breakfast included. Super comfy bed. Clean and exactly what you want from a hotel. Strangely, they have a pool in the lobby. I would def stay here again, reasonable price. They also allow pets in some rooms. Convenient location.

Stayed for 1 night on a drive to Florida. Room was Ok but other guests were not. Had someone smoking in a non- smoking room and 2 barking dogs across the hall. Manager took care of both. Breakfast was good.

This hotel has mold/musty smells on the 3rd floor. We were not able to use the AC. We requested a fan and used our own air purifier. Brought concerns to GM but was not able to educate about the danger of molds/mycotoxins.

Traveling to Disney with two grandchildren. Arrived really late (1:30am), so we couldn't see much that night. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Room was really clean and comfortable; modern and up to date, needless to say, we slept well that night. Breakfast in the morning was everything we expected. We travel extensively and stay only at Best Western, and this hotel ranks well up on the scale. Will definitely stay again when traveling Rt.-81.

This was our first time staying at a BW Plus and for the price, was expecting better. I picked the hotel for the indoor pool and breakfast. We arrived to find that the pool is right in front of the main door at reception with huge wall of windows. Anyone and everyone walking in gets a full view. Not the relaxing and peaceful environment you normally see. The pool was in use by 4 teenagers who were running and jumping constantly. The guy at the reception said they likely were not guests since they came in via an unlocked side door?!!?! The breakfast area is small and also around reception. The food and a couple of tables are in an area that resembles a large closet. We took one look and decided to check out and find somewhere else to eat. I am sure you can take stuff back to your room so not a deal breaker, we just wanted somewhere a little more relaxing. The room itself was ok visually, but absolutely stank of dampness. We suspected it was the AC unit that ran constantly and never got the room below 72. It was too humid in the room for our taste. I can not understate just how much this room smelled. As one reviewer said, of wet dog. The bed was however one of the most comfortable we have experienced, however even that was negated by extermley small pillows. When you turned in the night, you had to 'bring' your pillows with you. Normally, we would have left and found somewhere else to stay, but we had spent most of the day driving and was too tired to go looking for another hotel. At the price point of this hotel, I expected better. Looking at the low reviews, it appears the smell of damp / musty is common and has been reported for a number of years. The pool and breakfast issues are subjective and can be overlooked, the smell however, can, and should not be.

We stayed here to visit Roanoke. For a moderately priced lodging, the place was great. There were warm cookies in the afternoon and lots of small touches (makeup remover pad in the bathroom, excellent towels). Very clean. We spoke with the owner (extremely attentive to the needs of her guests) who gave us extra help with our sightseeing. BYW, Roanoke is small so hotels near the airport are an easy drive downtown.

We loved our stay here - the front desk was friendly, the room was very comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, the location very convenient. I would have expected to pay much more for this quality of motel. Definitely recommend and I would love to stay here again.

Close to everything if you are flying in for a game in Blacksburg. 45 minutes to the campus. Close proximity to all your tailgating needs, VA ABC, Kroger etc. Easy access to I-81 down to Blacksburg. Super staff, Clean large rooms, really nice breakfast included.

Very nice hotel for the money. Much less than neighboring hotels with much more comfortable beds and recliners in each room. Very convient to airport and V.A. hospital where we come to monthly. I would recommend this hotel to everyone I know. We have had trouble getting a hotel with comfortable beds and this one has very confortable ones.

The staff was nice and they called me to ask if I was on the way to the hotel. Because it was after 3pm. The hotel was clean and fresh. The room was good. Bes where a little high for short people like me. Over all the nights were good

We were very pleased with the price and ease of access of 81. The rom was spacious with comfortable furniture. The microwave allowed us to eat in our room and there was a pool n exercise room to let's us work the kinks out after 11 hours of driving. Very positive experience.

This is a great place to stay, staff is great, room is clean and very well displayed. Don't hesitate to book here. Location is handy to lots of dining and other places of interest. We stayed here while on a trip with our Harley. Will be back for sure.

Excellent from the beginning at check in. Easy access just off interstate and quiet with many places to eat close by, also plenty of shopping including Walmart, Sams Club, and shopping center. Very near to center of downtown that has lots of eating places, shopping on the old city Farmers Market, and museums.

was driving north from hurricane irma. room was clean, beds were good, AC was good also fridge was good coffee machine in room is a little on the cheap side if you are a coffee aficionado close to huge mall with lots of shopping, clothes, food, walmart etc

We had made previous plans that fell through and ended up booking here unexpectedly. My husband loved the reclining chair. We thought the beds were comfy. The fridge smelled, but when I removed the bag of boiled eggs that had been left tucked in the corner it was much better (they were hard to see, so I don't blame housekeeping for missing them.) The beds have the duvets that mean the parts touching your face are fresh washed, I love that. The only issue with the entire very clean room was that the carpet was not vacuumed well. The room was very comfy and we would stay again. Breakfast was better than average for stuff that is cooked in a microwave...everything was hot and ready at 6am as promised.

We have stayed at this facility many times and have never been disappointed. Location is very good. Near a number of restaurants and a large mall. Breakfast is well presented and choices are varied. Staff is attentive and helpful.

We had no reservation so just walked in. We were a bit concerned after reading some reviews but were pleasantly surprised. Staff was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful and went out of their way to be of service. Room/bedding/bathroom were clean and updated...bed very comfortable. Breakfast was great.

I am a Diamond Select BW member, which obviates I stay in many BWs, all around the country, as I travel by motorcycle. This is one of the "best" Best Western's at which I've stayed. In the heart of Virginia's Blue Ridge, it's a gorgeous setting and is surrounded by every type of eating establishment you could every want. The staff is highly qualified and friendly, the room and mattress were outstanding, and hands down, the ladies who run the breakfast and lay out the offerings, were incredible and they played a key part in my recommendation of this particularly BW if you're in the Roanoke area.

Very nice hotel. Good service. Loved the swimming pool. The room was clean, the sheets fresh and the air conditioner worked possibly to well. Did not use the breakfast so I can't say much as bout that, but they had a coffee service in the lobby that made up for it. Only problem was there was nobody manning the desk when I checked out. Overall, a very good experience.

This was our second time we booked at this Best Western Plus. We were taking our daughter to college in Roanoke and the hotel was clean and staff was friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel if in the area. The hotel is about ten minute drive from Roanoke college and it has several restaurants nearby and a mall. It has an indoor pool and fitness room for those who need to stay in shape.,

Front desk seemed confused when we mentioned the signage on building as lacking. We had to ask if this was the Best Western as surrounded by other hotels.Also took 3 trips to room to get correct key. Hallway on 3rd level was very warm. Pillow in room out of place when we arrived plus 1/4 roll toilet paper was left. Shower mixer not tight to wall and came off in my hand. Carpets need to be shampooed as white socks got grey. Internet service could have been better

Double room on first floor seems clean though musty. Ac filter needs changing. Refrigerator isn't cold, but there's no one to switch it out. Phone volume is erratic. Wifi goes on and out. The staff is very nice, and the shower thank goodness is excellent!

Great experience on eclipse day after a long day of travel and traffic, Staff was very pleasant with tired travelers and hotel was clean and comfortable...good basic breakfast items: eggs sausage cereal bagels danishes fruit and make your own waffles.

Diamond members should speak up about quality of accommodations, breakfast buffet and room cleaning schedule! The staff was courteous, but the comfortable feeling we generally experience from BWs around the nation was not there this time.

Hotel was very nice, clean and comfy. Didn't know how to get the ac started on our room, but front desk was helpful. The only small issues for me was that the ac was a bit too loud for my liking, kept me from a deep sleep, even with ear plugs! My family didn't seem to mind that, however. And the breakfast area is kind of small, but lots of great items provided!

Staying here overnight beats driving from home to catch wife's flight. Uncomplicated route/directions to and from airport, 1.8 miles. I drop her at airport and return for a nap before breakfast and check-out. Thirty-seven years of trucking and now 77, I've seen food service decline. Motels used to have full service restaurants, B. L & D. But room was just fine, easy to adjust temperature. Had to sit on bed to watch TV. Service better than last time, 96 channels. Problem last time was with their Roanoke carrier. If we need to, we'll be back!!!

We stayed here after a hard days drive in the rain. It was everything they promised. The place is a bit hard to find at first, but worth the effort. There are several nice places to eat nearby, and it's near the interstate for travelers.

We were lucky enough to get a ground floor room with a king bed!! The location of the motel was perfect for our needs as we wanted to be close to hwy 81 and the Blue Ridge parkway and this hotel is between both and surrounded by restaurants as well, many within walking distance! Breakfast was good as well. I especially liked that they had a yogurt machine and fresh fruit (A huge plus for me) but they had waffles, pastries, cereals and omlets too so we were both happy. Very clean place too!

Rooms are solid, clean and quiet. Desk staff is welcoming and helpful. Breakfast has ok selection and good service. Parking ample and convenient. Have stayed there three times on the way to somewhere else. Will stay again.

Was clean. Staff is wonderful. Now if I can just get the corporate office to credit my points to my BW account! They still havent. But the pool was warm and clean. Would have been better if it was open all night so we could have enjoyed it after children of other guests had went to bed.

This was a very nice place to stay but it is quite a bit out of downtown. There is a nearby shopping mall and all that it implies. I noticed that children really appreciated the indoor swimming pool. The breakfast was a typical "full breakfast included.

Pet friendly, clean, great price, and free breakfast. Can't ask for anything more for a quick stop while passing thru Roanoke. Plenty of restaurants near by and a mall just down the road. This town is also near a lot of hiking trails.

I don't usually stay at best Western hotels so I was a little skeptical of this best western plus. However, friendly staff and nice lobby eased these concerns. The room was very clean, the beds were fairly comfortable and the Wi-Fi was easy to use. One downside. The breakfast was horrible. Cold sausage. No bacon. Eggs that appeared to be powdered. One nice thing was a yogurt machine that was really good. Would I return? Not sure.

We booked this hotel from the road using one of the rest area coupon books and were very pleased. Hotel was great and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Arrived at 930 and only stayed through breakfast (which was great and the woman working in the breakfast area was great) but I would definitely stay there again.

I have not stayed at a Best Western in many years. This property was available and I called ahead with a special request. The person at the front desk and the manager handled my request so I went ahead and made a reservation. The rooms were nice sized and clean and quiet. My stay went great and will stay again when in the area.

The young man that checked us in was very friendly. There was a long line to check in and he apologized for that. It wasn't his fault. But it feels good these days to be acknowledged while you wait. The room was clean room. The breakfast was not run as well as other Best Westerns. But it was still good. Our stay was overal great.

Comfortable bed, good water pressure in shower, clean room. Even a rubber ducky in the bathtub! Conveniently off the highway. Located at the end of a mall provides many dinner options. Hotel has very good continental breakfast. Only negative was that the a/c was too loud. Would definitely stop here again.

We found the Best Western Plus at Valley View to be a comfortable, clean and efficient hotel. The rooms were in excellent condition and the staff was courteous and efficient. The breakfast offerings were better than some of similar cost but very average. The highway signage may be confusing when you arrive. It was for us and we missed the turn the first time.

Nice & clean, great selection of tv channels, nice room, nice bathroom, free breakfast. Definitely would stay again! Has a fitness room, pool. Our room had a comfy reclining chair, lots of pillows. They even leave a little rubber ducky in each , our daughter loved that!

We're driving cross country so we're staying in a lot of hotels this summer. This was good for the price. I asked for ground floor with a working fridge/freezer. Got the fridge/freezer but was on the 3rd floor. Room was clean and comfy. Nice bed, pillows and towels. The breakfast was good, a Spanish omelet as well as plain + grits, a nice change. All in all a good experience.

The staff was very professional and the hotel was very clean. The breakfast was a full breakfast that made my daughter's happy, especially the Blueberry Waffles. I would definitely stay there again. Thanks Best Western Staff.

Pleasantly surprised with the free breakfast. Many things to choose from such as Hard boiled egges Omelette and sausages cereals yogurts cheeses breads included white whole wheat bagels etc. The bed was very comfortable. The staff seem to be disengaged and are more interested in their cell phones than their function. I stood at the front desk just watching the staff intetact with their phones just around the corner. Once i called them over they were helpful. Dont expect to see anyone just standing at the front desk. Just holler and they spring into service. Theres no Mountain view from the room nor the parking lot. Property is located in proximity of anything you could want. Tons of restaurants around some within walking distance. A mall and 3 minutes from the regional airport. The rooms are well appointed and very modern. Best Western has stepped up their game. This isn't what they used to be. Bravo BW I'm a fan again.

This is a beautiful hotel, much nicer than any BW I have frequented before--and I have stayed in a few. If I am in Roanoke again, I will definitely stay here again. Great staff and they are dog-friendly. :)

A motorcycle friendly hotel to stay at for the night after a long day on the road. Front Desk staff are very helpful, in providing information on local places to eat, things to see & how to get back on the road in the proper direction.

We enjoyed our two night stay very much. The employees were all nice and helpful. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was really good with a lot of choices. The hotel was full, but was still very quite. We would gladly stay there again.

Was driving from New England to SC with my college grad daughter. After 12 hours it was dark and we were tired. Needed a place that allowed pets. This was more than we hoped for. The room was nicely decorated, big and clean. Didn't seem like any prior animals (canine or human - ha!) had stayed there. The staff at the reception desk were friendly and accommodating. So glad we found this spot. Two things to note: the shower made me feel tall but would be cramped for someone over 6'. And around 10pm and intoxicated man staggered down our hall and fell to the ground. He was helped by his friend but it was a little unsettling.

Easy to check in. Limited but no problem parking. Shuttle anywhere within five miles. Pool is indoors. Breakfast was hot and good. Room fridges do not have a freezer but they kept our frozen bottles in the kitchen freezer. Place is clean. Rooms are nice. A lot on tv if you need to watch it. One downfall is no place to sit outside with a group.

nice and clean, beds were not for me. my back hurt all 3 days that I stayed there even though I was told the mattress was new I couldn't believe them because my back hurt every day and I didn't get enough sleep to enjoy the times around the area. Hotel was clean though.

Since I was staying in Roanoke for a few nights, I wanted a nicer place than the discount hotel so I chose this one. It was very nice. The staff was very nice and friendly, and it was a quick drive to downtown. Great price too.

This is our fourth visit Roanoke. Each and every time we visited, we stayed at the Best Western at Valleyview. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast room in the morning can get a bit crowded. The breakfast items are simple and to be expected but it get's you fueled up for the day. This is probably my last trip to Roanoke (beautiful area!) as I had been coming up there from Texas conducting family research which is now complete! If I were ever to come back, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The motel is close to many restaurants, shopping, the airport and major roads. A very good location for my purposes.

The two ladies at the desk were so welcoming. We flew in from Germany as military members and were exhausted. After traveling to several hotels looking for a place that accepts pets we were finally welcomed here and they even made special accommodations for my son. The beds were very comfy the rooms were very nice and modern. Will absolutely stay here again and mostly because of the two ladies on 2 May 2017 at 1030pm that finally gave us a rest. Thank you

Just finished our 7th stay at the BW Plus at Valley View in Roanoke and once again it met and exceeded our expectations. Lori Womack is the GM and she has done a tremendous job of training her staff and empowering them to provide spotlessly clean, well appointed rooms. The entire facility is maintained at a high level. Check in and out is always a breeze because everyone knows their job so well. We noticed the beds had new mattresses and they were very comfortable. You won't find a better lodging value in Roanoke than the BW Plus at Valley View. This and the super friendly staff are why we continue to stay at this location. We always have good thoughts about staying here, before we arrive and when we depart.

I was in Roanoke in 2016 for my non-profit organization's annual state convention and I had a very pleasant visit at this Best Western Plus so I decided to stay there again this year. It turned out to be another great experience. I reserved a room online on the Best Western web page well in advance. I should alert you that when I write a review of a place of lodging, I want to give the reader as much relevant information as possible so that he or she can make an informed decision as to whether to stay or pass on that facility. Therefore, my reviews tend to be a little lengthy so bear with me. I arrived on a Friday afternoon and checked in at the reservation desk. The woman at the desk was very polite and friendly. She checked me in promptly to a room on the second floor of the three-floor motel. All the rooms are non-smoking. I had a spacious room consisting of two queen size beds with four pillows each, a night stand with a double lamp, a very comfortable leather recliner with foot rest, a floor lamp, a small table with an ice bucket and plastic cups. On the opposite wall was a small table suitable for use as a desk. It had a double lamp and a telephone. My favorite feature is the two electrical outlets at the base of the lamp which allowed me to plug in my computer and charge my phone simultaneously. There was an additional wall outlet under the desk. Next to the desk was a combination unit that held a small microwave oven and a refrigerator below it. Adjacent to this compartment was a dresser with three deep drawers. A flat screen television sat on top of the unit. A small shelf on the left held the coffee/tea maker complete with coffee, tea, sweeteners, and condiments. The bathroom is on the left as you enter the room. It was small but functional. It consisted of a large stone top vanity with a single sink. There were large open storage spaces beneath the sink. The room had the usual amenities including plastic cups, shampoo, and a box of facial tissues. There were plenty of towels and wash cloths. A large, brightly illuminated mirror made shaving easy. The shower unit had handicap railings. The water pressure was strong and there was plenty of hot water. There is a clothes closet on the left as you enter the room. It had an iron, ironing board, a folding luggage rack, and a small safe. It also had a shelf for storing items and there were plenty of hangers. The room had an audible smoke detector (no flashing light for the hearing impaired) and two sprinkler heads one at the entrance to the room and one on the wall in the main room. One oddity I noted was the room's interior door handle was installed backward. While it functioned okay, it seen strange. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The heating and air conditioning unit is below the window and it worked flawlessly. I had a relaxing night's sleep each night. The motel has several amenities. There was free W-fi in the room with a strong signal. There is an ice machine and soft drink vending machine on each floor. There is a snack machine on the first floor. There is a small but surprisingly well-equipped exercise room on the second floor. Right next to this room is a coin operated laundry with a washer and dryer. There is a wall-mounted dispenser with detergent and bleach. Very convenient for an extended stay. There is a small indoor pool on the first floor adjacent to the lobby. The motel is handicap accessible with an elevator and a handicap entrance near the main entrance. The motel offers a standard fare continental breakfast. The motel is very well-maintained. My room was clean and fresh and the communal areas were just as clean. The motel is pet friendly and it is a short drive to and from downtown Roanoke and the Roanoke Airport. There is plenty of free parking and there are numerous restaurants within a 5-10-minute drive. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The staff was professional and friendly, the room was very comfortable, and the price was reasonable. I will definitely stay here on my next visit to Roanoke.

This was our second time staying at this hotel. We visit family in New England every year and when we drive we have to split the drive into 2 days. This is a perfect spot to stop over on our way home. When planning our trip this year, I checked back on reviews I've written in the past and saw that we had a great experience here before. We were not disappointed this time! We did at first get a room on the highway side and asked to be moved. The front desk accommodated us right away and we were found the room on that side to be much more quiet. There was a group of girls two doors down from us having a sweet 16 party and they were somewhat loud and slamming doors. We called down to the front desk, which didn't do much good (not really their fault). It did quiet down after a while and we got a good nights sleep. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Highly recommended.The little rubber duckies in the bathroom are a super cute touch!

I asked for a accessible room due to using a cane - Our room was on the third floor at the end of a long corridor. It was next to the exit door for the stairs. There was a party on the third floor and the exit door "slammed" shut unitl after 1:00 AM. The door did not have a door closer so it would it with a bang. The TV was going out for a minute or two all night (probably due to weather.) But the main complait, is the tub which sits up and with a bad leg, is very difficult to get in and out of. I figured with a 4.5 rating from TripAdvisor, this would be a great one night stay but turned out to be my worst Best Western visit. Way overpriced for the price I paid. When I explained to the front dest as we were checking out, she did say that she was "sorry." Never again

We have stayed in this resort many times for quite a few years. We were there as a couple over the years. The front desk staff is more than cordial and helpful at all times. The units very clean and comfortable. This location is great. The street is very accessible. The breakfast buffet is the best around. I cannot say enough good about this place and can't wait to return!

The rooms are very musty smelling Should have know based on the very outdated rooms. Request for discount was denied for all my suffering Never again! Forever I will stick with Hampton Inn much better

A friendly clean hotel. No frills. Does have meeting space as our large group of 300 were accommodated just fine with the extra rooms, meetings rooms and ballrooms. The food was very good. I had a the filet..... at the event of 300. The hotel has a pool that is indoors and outdoors.

Excellent Location- basically walking distance to the Valley View mall Indoor Pool was small, but served it's purpose I thought it was a nice touch for them to add the little rubber ducky in the bathroom for a child's toy. Lots of variety in the Breakfast Buffet I could appreciate that the room had a microwave and refrigerator Overall great Value!!

This was a one night stay to break up a long drive to Charlotte, NC. The hotel was in a good location near the main highway. There were several chain restaurants in which to have a decent dinner and a rather large mall good for shopping or just to take a walk after being in the car. The woman that checked us in was very friendly and welcoming. the room was clean and comfortable and in good condition except for a hole in the bed headboard. Breakfast was provided which was adequate for our needs before jumping back on the highway.

All anyone could ask for in motel overnight lodging. Clean, comfortable, great staff, breakfast (blueberry waffles!), quiet, several restaurants and stores very close by. As my title states this is one of the best Best Western Plus properties I have stayed at in recent years. My wife and I visit family in North Carolina and Florida as often as possible (we live in south central New York State) and this is a very convenient and welcome stop along the way.

We arrived after a long, wet day of riding motorcycles in the rain. We were welcomed and made to feel at home by a desk manager that is a fellow rider. She did a great job with helping us get a short term reservation. This is a nice hotel with lots of good eating close by.

Room was clean, breakfast was goid! They had grits!!!! Along with the usual muffins, waffles, juice, coffee...Hard to fit two people in beds that were supposed to be queen. Bathroon was a good size and was very clean.

Everything about this place is A1, except the mattress which was horrible. This mattress should have been in the garbage a long time ago. Employees were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was typical Best Western.

We needed a place to stay overnight on a trip to Georgia. I called while on the road. There was no problem getting a room. Arrived and everything was ready for us. Staff was pleasant and courteous. Every stay at a Best Western hotel has always been perfect. Free breakfast in the morning made our departure easy.

Thjere are quite a few hotels in the same area next to a mall and near the airport. This BW was nice and quiet. I thought that there were two queen beds but they brought in a roll away bed for one grandkid. Close to a lot of restaurants. Has indoor pool and though the breakfast buffet was small it offered quiet a lot. The beds aren't as good as Hampton but was good for one night.

This is a pleasant motel - small pool, friendly staff and GREAT coffee! The rooms are spacious, and my husband was thrilled to have an 'easy' chair to sit in. Breakfast was good. We would stay there again!

Stayed overnight as a single traveler. Felt safe, staff was hospitable, the room was clean. What I liked best was the breakfast-- waffles, mini-omelette, hash browns, grits as well as fruit, cereal and yogurt.

Average hotel, not worth the [rice paid. Pool location right next to and in full view of lobby and check in. Heating and air conditioning system very noisy. We were given a room right next to the mechanical room and when anything turned on the walls vibrated! We requested and received a room change. A few doors down from the first room we were in there were two rooms being occupied by at least 10 adults and children in each room and they were very noisy. Hotel outdated and in need of some work.

We stayed here for a few nights in November. The room was quite nice with comfortable beds and a nice flat screen tv. We stayed here so we could attend a Virginia Tech game and see some of the area. The people in the room next to us brought their dog and didn't care that it barked continually while they were not in the room. The dog family even went to breakfast together at 7:30 am which meant we all got an early and unwanted string of barking. This in turn got other dogs going in other rooms. I like pet friendly hotels but the hotel needs to have a way to deal with red necks that don't give a damn about anybody else and bring dogs that should be left elsewhere. We told the front desk there was an issue but they were not able to address it. The breakfasts were ok but the eating area was quite small and cramped. I would expect that 90% of the time this motel is quite good to stay at, but during Virginia Tech games, they may get some customers that lack basic hotel manners. On the plus side, they were able to provide us a rollaway on short notice since the beds were a bit smaller than expected (maybe full size rather than queen size) and would not have easily accomodated two adults per bed.

Our meeting was about 10 miles away - nice room and convenient place to stay - well marked entrance to hotel - awesome breakfast and coffee - good parking and well lit lot for our late evening meetings!

My wife and I stayed at this great hotel two nights on our resent visit to Roanoke. A great experience with the staff and also the breakfast. We will be sure to stay at this Best Western on our return visit to Roanoke.

Dad was in hospital and I popped into this Best Western, felt good to be in safe, clean spot ... after worrying all day. Front Desk agent kind and understanding, Borrowed phone charger as my phone was dead and of course I was anxious.

This facility is about 15 years old located near a large shopping complex. This inn is clean and well maintained. Breakfast is a plus including cooked grits. Staff was courteous and professional. Recommend as a good choice if you're staying or visiting this area.

We were looking forward to staying in the king size bed no smoking room after a day of hiking at the Blue Ridge Parkway. During check in we were not informed that they downgraded our room. We arrived in a musty smelling double bed room. We returned to the check in desk to be told we were downgraded. Lori blamed Expedia and booking.com for overbooking their hotel. The website was not aware of current room availability because of plumbing problems. We requested Lori refund our room cost. She initially refused and told use to call the website. We sat in the lobby and waited on the phone for a website representative on the phone. Lori then realized she was the problem. Lori is who charged us not the website. She then gave us a refund. She does not have the customer relations skills required for representing Best Western.

Enjoyed a relaxing stay in this attractively decorated hotel away from the interstate in a good location. Best Western has come a long way over the years, and provides a comfortable place to pause from all the traffic.

The lever on the sink plug broke off and there was after all over the floor. No offer of help, so I crawled under the sink and did a temp fix as it was very late and we had unpacked or the night. Stuff happens, but this type of incident shows a lack of care about the property. Staff had no clue about simple fixes or any authority to make it right with the guests

Things of note for your staff to check out in room 314. The bathroom sink faucet basically has to modes of operation... dripping and full blast. The installed night does not work... at least I was not able to find a switch for it. The show head works... that it is say that it sprays water at you... but that's about it. The selector dial is not functional. The cable TV signal fades out for about 5 seconds every 3-5 minutes... more of an annoyance than anything else. The AC/Heat controls are confusing. Are the controls on the unit used to control it or is the thermostat on the wall used to control it??? Some basic instruction for its use may be in need. My reservation was for two days. For some reason my reservation was thought to be only for on e night. After much difficulty with making the reservation for two nights it ends up being for one night. The on-line reservation site and customer service at the reservation place is terrible. all of the technology in the world and it's still this difficult to make a hotel reservation. I had to spend money to get my "free" nights stay, for a room with a very uncontrollable "full" size bed. Really... a full size bed??? I'm a slightly larger than average build, 5' 9" Male @ 190 lbs and I find it difficult to sleep in that thing. My wife is also slightly above average size... we enjoyed laying close to each other but it was very uncomfortable. The good things about our weekend there were the pool was warm and delightful to swim in, the water in the shower was of good pressure and the hot waster was plentiful, we were given a room that did not face the highway exit which is always loud and disturbing, Breakfast was very good and tasty, and we were able to get an extra towel to clean up after our daughter when she tried to brush her teeth and water from the bathroom sink soaked her, her pajamas and the floor in front of the sink. That made for an amusing moment.

Whenever we drive from the Northeast to Atlanta we stay at this hotel. It is quiet, comfortable, clean and has an indoor pool. I would recommend you get directions to the hotel if you are driving on Interstate 81 since it is not right off the interstate. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and will help you out. The beds are also very comfortable. The breakfast area is small. The mall and restaurants are only minutes away.

We stayed for one night between Charlottesville and Boone on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The hotel smells musty, there was mold on the ceiling of our room, the toilet wouldnt stop running and the shower didn't work quite right either. While it wasn't dirty it's surely scuffed up, dated and clearly in need of some repair. Some Best Western Plus locations are significantly better than their standard chain, this was not among them. The night before we stayed at a Holiday Inn in Front Royal, which was cheaper and infinitely nicer.

This hotel had everything going for it. Best Western top of the line I try to stay at Best Western on all my trips unless not available This was my favorite. A lot of restaurants and shopping near the hotel

I stayed at this location twice in a week. If all I wanted was a comfortable bed and a decent breakfast, this hotel would be fine. There were just too many other issues for me to recommend it. The one sign at ground level, partly hidden behind a competing property's sign made it hard to find. The internet service was intermittent and weak even when it was working. The ice machine on our floor was out of order. The room on our second stay smelled musty/moldy. The shower didn't drain very well. The toilet seat was loose. The arrangement of furniture in the room made it impossible to get the luggage cart into the room far enough to be able to open the closet door. Even though I am a Best Western rewards member, I will not choose this location again unless I learn that these shortcomings have been addressed.

Superior mall location and excellent staff. Rooms large and very nice. Hotel is also quiet and has a good solid comforting feel about it. You can tell this hotel has strong management and the price point is a bargain for the quality.

Overall experience was good. Friendly staff. Hotel in older, but comfortable. Ice machine and vending machines were out on the second floor. Beds were okay but not great. Room was very clean. Express checkout would have been very convenient, since I travel.

We stayed two nights recently and have zero complaints. We were welcomed with fresh baked cookies and lemonade which my children loved. On Sat. they ran out of cookies and one of the nice front desk ladies made a special trip to the store to buy cookie dough to bake more cookies. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay here again!

this is one of the top 10 Best Westerns we have stayed in. From first impressions to check out this was one of the best. Friendly people work there and this is very important. I would stay there again and recommend it to others.

About 5 minutes off I-81 in a commercial area near the airport. Hotel was clean and quiet with a nice hot breakfast. Checkin was quick and friendly. Pet friendly with a $20 fee. Several major chain restaurants within a two minute drive.

Maybe I've been watching to much "Hotel Impossible" with Anthony Melchiorri, but I was expecting a more up-to-date hotel, for the price we paid. It is far from being the cheapest chain hotel in Roanoke. The hotel is long overdue for a remodel. We concluded that it was a "traveler's hotel" where most guests are passing through on 81, so the staff probably did not care about really putting effort into a best of care. People will be staying one night, then continuing their treks to points north/south. I think the philosophy of the management is to get it "just good enough". Just some things I noticed: 1) The mattresses are extremely cheap and uncomfortable. Both of us woke up with sore backs and hips. More objectively, when you sit on a mattress and can hear several springs go "boing-spreeeng-bing" you know the mattress was cheap to begin with, and is now completely worn out. The mattresses are substandard. Additionally, the sheets, blankets and bedding is very old and should be replaced. 2) The toilet took several flushes to work. This is probably a factor of overuse, under-maintenance over the years. Grime and black stuff was starting to appear in the cracks around the tub and walls nearby. The "rubber ducky" had black substance on the bottom. I shudder how many children used this in their bathtubs, which they were also using as an alternate toilet. I would recommend getting rid of the ducks, because they are more of a liability than a cute/ funny accessory. 3) The carpets in the rooms are generally worn out and dirty. Colors are starting to fade. I don't think much is spent by the hotel ownership in regular carpet cleaning, is there? Likewise, the hallway carpets are were varying colors of gray and brown. I know companies exist that will shampoo carpets for not very much. I think pennies are being pinched by the management in this department. 4) Not sure why the heat did not respond on the temperature control unit. We had it cranked to 81, and it was still cold for most of the night. The temperature definitely did not rise above 74, because we gauged it ourselves. I think, like the rest of the hotel, these units have seen their better days. All in all, not a horrible stay, but judging from the Tripadvisor comment section, most people are in a love fest with this facility. Nothing personnel, but we would not stay there again.
