I've stayed at Best Western throughout the years, and it's never been a bad experience. Whether I was traveling across country, or just in town for a getaway, I know the rooms will be clean and comfortable, the included breakfast has always been a great start to the day, and they are usually near to where I want to be

Enjoyed our stay here. Room was very clean. Complementary breakfast head many options. Staff were nice and accommodating. Location is great close to everything especially Del monte mall. And I took one start off as their Internet was not a secure network. I would definitely book this again.

The BW Park Crest Inn turned out to be a great "base of operations" for our Thanksgiving holiday trip this year. We initially booked our room for one night and ended up staying six. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast included juices, three kinds of fruit (apples, oranges and bananas), english muffins, waffles, hot items (eggs, sausage, hash browns), boiled eggs, and, of course, the notoriously bad BW coffee. There's plenty to do in the Monterey area and we intend to revisit the Park Crest Inn on our next trip to Monterey.

So happy with our stay! Price was reasonable. The real surprise was the cleanliness, ease of navigation to and from for daily outings, bed was super comfortable and the breakfast spread was quite surprising for this price point.

I found the room clean, fairly quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was good. The microwave & fridge were good (I warm health equipment). I was glad there was an extra blanket in the wardrobe (why a wardrobe when the room has a closet?) because I found it on the cold side with the November weather. I turned on the thermostat, but the lack of weatherstripping on the threshold meant a cool breeze coming through? I could see daylight under the door (no carpet). There was no bedside table/reading lamp on one side of the bed. Overall, I was satisfied but puzzled because I had stayed here before and think it has been renovated to make it easier to clean.

We stayed one night just after Halloween. It was clean, mostly quiet and within walking distance of the cute downtown area. Staff was pleasant. However, when we checked in, we were overwhelmed by the strong smell of chemical cleaner and opened the windows for the rest of the day. Although the daytime weather was warm, the bedding was very thin and we were both cold at night. Otherwise the beds were comfy enough. We paid $188 total for two queens with my Best Western $10 discount. It was more like a $130 hotel and I didn't find it a good value. I would look for something better next time in Monterey.

room quite adequate, obviously recently redone - clean, good bed, spartan but comfortable- we booked because 2room suite available- breakfast crowded standing room only in serving area, in tiny room + outside patio - serious super spreader occasion - should have walked down to local bakery - fantastic dinner at Estéban restaurant

This property was very close to everything. Easy to locate and good parking. We golf in the Pebble Beach area and visited the Wharf so it was all located a short drive away. They have an awesome breakfast.

Very simple and nice hotel. The rooms are clean , the soaps are basic but the most surprising in the hotel was the nice breakfast which served ( we didn't expect nothing because we were in a simple place ) . There was Belgian waffle in self service , eggs, yogurt , hard eggs and few croissants and sandwiches.the location is nice but to get to Monterey bay you need to walk about 20 min or drive

Room was clean with a nice comfy bed and great amenities. Breakfast included. We even had an ocean view! Location is perfect and the staff were professional and courteous. We would stay there again in a minute!

Arrived to a small traffic jam of people at check in the solo receptionist made quick work of the mess and had up checked in very quickly. A true professional for sure. Room was hardwood floors, very clean and sizable for our needs. Pool looked very clean and inviting but we were on a mission ! We pre left our bike trailer at the raceway but it looked like there was more than ample on street parking for a truck and trailer. The on site lot was cozy and almost full but still doable for a full size truck. Did not want to risk staying at budget hotels anymore such as those found on Fremont due to meth and crime. This hotel is safe and sane for sure. Will Abe back next year no drought.

The room was fine but my key card stopped working on the second day even though I was booked for multiple days and I did not enjoy having hands full of items and not being able to get in the room, and then having to walk all the way to reception and leave my stuff in front of my door. I did not like that when I called in my license plate number, the reception wanted to force me to walk over and write it down instead of them just writing it down. The room where breakfast was served was muggy and hot and there was no coffee.

Rooms seemed nice, floors extremely dirty. Parking horrible, lots of construction workers stay there with oversized vehicles, which makes it difficult to park.was extremely noisy ..you can here everything around you wall insulation bad to be that transparent in noise level..people screaming at 7am in the morning..not a good experience..

Great location. Easy checking with friendly staff. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bed was not very comfortable and The refrigerator was making noise through the night. The overall decent stay for the cost.

Nice quiet location but not too off the beaten track. Convenient to Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. It was too cold to use the pool but it looked very inviting. The staff was welcoming and the property clean.

Stayed here 2 nights with my kids. We came to Monterey for the aquarium. We had the best experience staying at this Best Western. The staff was all very friendly and the breakfast was amazing. The room was clean and very nice. We didn't make use of the pool because it was too cold outside, but it looked very clean.

Upon checking in Vicky had all arts of issues, I was treating my brother and sis-in-law to this overnight stay so I wanted to pay for the room with my credit card, and stated that during a pre-registration email. I got a credit card authorization email but didn't fill it out, I just thought I'll be there when they check in which I was. Vicky told me I really needed to answer that email, she was having all sorts of trouble with the internet and tried to print out the form without luck. Then she couldn't find any that were already printed. I found the firm on my iPhone so she asked me to forward it to her, but couldn't remember the proper email address of the property. Then she remembered, so I sent it to her, but I too was having internet access issues, she said did you use the password? I said, how would I know the password, she had to look that up too, when I did use the password and emailed to her she FINALLY printed it out. I filled it out and then she realized she needed info on my brother's rental car, so more time wasted. When we finally got to see the room it was gorgeous. The next morning while they were getting ready to take showers, THE SHOWER DIDNT WORK. ROOM 148, did she not know that OR DID SHE??? They didn't call the front desk because they were leaving within the hour. Then one of them used the toilet and it wouldn't flush either, because it got clogged. I AM SO IRRITATED, I checked Best western's website yesterday to look at reviews and saw mainly complaints which appear to not get answered so this too is probably a waste of my time, but you need to know how incompetent Vicky is, and the showers are a basic need when staying in a hotel. What a disappointment, the rooms are just stunning - but those CC authorization forms aren't printed out, REALLY? I live two miles away in a tiny cottage and had hoped to use this BW park crest as a backup when friends visit, but not now.

This hotel was very quiet, calm, and perfect for a quick getaway. The room I checked out was cozy and clean; wi-fi was fast, heater worked fine, and there was plenty of parking. This is in a nice part of Monterey and close to downtown. I would stay here again.

Rooms are dated. Peeling paint and mold in the bathroom window area. Staff was very friendly. The Breakfast was simple but good. The parking is a bit difficult. Not much sound proofing between floors.

Can't beat the value! Excellent free breakfast, free parking, great location. Clean rooms, plenty of space. Excellent customer service. Breakfast at hot food items as well as fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereals, juices and a coffee bar.The waffle maker was a fun choice as well! So happy with our visit.

I called around to find a hotel that was not too pricey but had a full breakfast since one of our party could not skip breakfast for health reasons. Food is expensive in Monterey so have breakfast provided was a real money saver. It's a full breakfast not just bakery products. Starting each day with a balanced meal made a huge difference. You can request to have your linens changed each day which we did. We came back from our adventuring each day to a fresh clean smelling room. Park Crest is conveniently near Cannery Row in a cute part of Monterey. It's pretty place to go for a walk. This is our go to hotel for Monterey vacations.

The first thing that we noticed upon check into our room is how clean and well kept our room was. Outstanding.. the manager Esmeralda Frausto was outstanding, helpful and courteous. Her staff was top notch. Breakfast was simple. And good.

First all, Esmeralda always manages to make our stay an awesome experience. Her front desk ladies are very professional and always greet you with a nice smile. The rooms are always clean and the ladies are very accommodating with supplies. The breakfast is always hot and delicious. The pool and Jacuzzi are heated and very clean. This hotel is located in a nice neighborhood by all the restaurants bars and mall.

We have been coming to the Park Crest for many years and every stay is a very positive one. The staff are great and Esmeralda, General Manager, goes out of her way to meet whatever needs we might have. The location and free parking are great. The facility is very close and provides very easy to all the major tourist attractions in Monterey and Carmel. It is also very close to the Del Monte Shopping that includes restaurants, pharmacy, shops, theater etc.

From the friendly courteous staff to the clean room we were very pleased with our stay! We enjoyed our yummy breakfast too. This hotel is in a great location close to the beach, aquarium, cannery row, wharf & shopping!

The hotel manager was rude disrespectful and unprofessional the rooms were not as viewed online and my experience there was the most horrible experience I've ever had at a hotel. I complained to the manager on stuff and she argued with me.

We arrived on September 23rd and I soon realized my error in booking a smaller room. The night administrator, Victoria was extremely helpful and very courteous despite my husband's frustration. She moved us to a larger room with 2 double beds immediately and thus solved the problem. She also recommended a great restaurant for the evening. The food was delicious. The level of professionalism and kindness was exceptional. I loved this small homey lodging. The complementary breakfast was nice and tasty. The manager, Esmeralda was helpful with information about the surrounding area. When I travel, I look for more than ritzy surroundings. I look for friendliness, cleanliness, and great customer service. The Best Western Park Crest Inn provided everything I desired in a hotel. I highly recommend the Park Crest Inn.

Great clean upgraded room. Had to cancel one night for work related delays and was not charged. Friendly helpful front desk staff! Clean facility in and out. I requested a certain room and my request was met. Very satisfied! 10/10

Best Western Park Crest Inn…the employees was very professional and friendly. The service was great and the breakfast was very nice as well. I honestly don't understand why this motel has such a high rating. It was by far the worst place we stayed in during our 3 week trip in the US. Unfortunately it was also one of the most expensive at nearly €400 (!!!) a night . For that amount of money I expect a quiet room at the very least. Room 165 is far from quiet. We could literally hear the people next door moving around, coughing and talking. In 3 weeks we were never in a room that was this noisy. The lady at the front desk said she doesn't go into the rooms, so wouldn't know, which seems an odd response. She also said this has never come up as an issue with other guest, which I find hard to believe (also because it is mentioned in other reviews ). It was a connecting room and I think the connecting door let a lot of the sound through. Tip for management: do not put 2 unrelated families in these connecting rooms. The front door had quite a large gap at the bottom (see picture, you can see the light coming in), so we also got to enjoy all the outside sounds, like the busy road, and guests coming and going. The AC is super loud and makes a sound like an old engine. Our room smelt like bleach; we had to leave the door open to air it out. The bathtub was missing it's plug and had what looks like mold in the drain, but to be fair it could be scale accumulation. There was metal plating under and around our bed that made a very loud plopping/popping noise every time the person on the left side got in and out of bed (he is a mere 70kg). There are no elevators to the 2nd floor. Apparently this could have been known to us because booking.com did not list the presence of elevators- or so the lady at the front desk told us. The only redeeming qualities were the temperature of the pool and the proximity to Chopstix, a very decent Vietnamese place just up the street. Just don't stay here. For €400/night I'm sure there are many better places to be found, even during the weekend.

extremly unfriendly, rude check-in by a young woman - hospitaliy?? never heard of? she missed her job. room renovated, but very hard bed, aircondition just next to the bed, extremly noisy from second floor. unfortunataly the bathroom was not renovated at the same time - filthy shower curtains are out of time. poor breakfast with awfull coffee. room wasn‘t cleaned for the 2nd night. for 245.- a night well overprized

Our stay here was good. 3 night stay. We agreed to housekeeping, they did a good job with that. Front desk staff very friendly as well. Love that everything is close by (less than 30min) the aquarium, wharf, there's even a shopping center right down the street…with a Starbucks!

Staff were friendly, room was clean and exactly as pictured on website. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was excellent.Walking distance to Fisherman's wharf and short drive to beaches, Aquarium, Cannery Row.

Comfortable, Clean, Courteous manager & staff, nicely priced ... always exceeds our expectations the location on Munras Ave is perfectly located to use as a home base while attending various medical appointments, and restaurant visits.

My son loves pools and hot tubs, so we booked two nights at this Best Western during our stay in Monterey. On the plus side, the room was clean and bedding was comfortable. On the downside: The floors creaked making it hard not to wake up sleeping family members at night. The bath tub faucet was mislabeled (hot was cold and visa versa) and the bathroom door would not close shut. The refrigerator we used to chill our food actually froze them instead and when I went to adjust the temperature, the dial fell off. And that pool and hot tub my son wanted to play in? The pool was very cold and the hot tub looked as if every little kid who couldn't use the pool had pissed in it. Tripadvisor definitely let us down on this recommendation.

Stayed here overnight during Pres Day wknd. Lobby staff is extremely helpful, hot breakfast is fantastic and the rooms are clean/comfy. About 10 min from cannery row. Parking is a bit tight, but fine.

Staff was awesome, facility was not up to my expectation of a Best Western. The pool and jacuzzi were by the front of the parking lot, thought it would be towards the back of the property in a more private area. I requested to not be place by an exit, I was told by the staff they didn't get the message thru booking.com. I rec'd an email that said they would try to accomodate. I should have been notified immediately that they could not acommodate so I could find another spot. People upstairs very noisy, let the kids run constantly back and forth, had to call the desk and complain. Glad the desk was able to get them to stop, so thankful, it was awful listening too. Do i have 200 characters now, you all want me to go on about unhappy i was with my room and that i got no sleep?!

Best Western has breakfast included, great location, easy parking, spacious rooms with a microwave and refrigerator. The toilet and shower were separate from the sink, which means 2 people can get ready at the same time. The closet was large with lots of hangers and 2 luggage racks which made it really easy to live 3 days out of a suitcase. I was surprised that everything in my cooler fit perfectly in the refrigerator. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rates were really good, too. I became a BW Club member in the process and will probably continue to stay in BW hotels in the future.

This hotel is close to everything in Monterey. It is affordable and was very clean. Was also very quiet. The grab and go breakfast was enjoyable and had various options. My family went for a quick one night trip and this small hotel was very convenient. It is 7 minutes from the aquarium and Cannery Row.

Location is central to many activities in Monterey. Room was freshly painted with newer fixtures. Front desk person is welcoming. Limited breakfast choices at this time. But, you are in Monterey with many food and drink places nearby. Wall heater motor cycling on and off was louder than we expected. However, we haven't stayed in a motor inn in a while.

Esmeralda, the manager is the best! She and her friendly staff do their best to make our stay enjoyable. It is a motel that has been smartly renovated and is run by warm and friendly people. It thoroughly cleaned everyday. The beds are comfortable. The location is fine, only a short drive from all the points of interest in the area. Breakfast is just a grab and go . Not great but efficient. This is our second stay. We will return each time we come to visit our son and family who live in the area. Thank you Esmeralda!

Very friendly staff. The room was nice and clean. It is a great location to walk to downtown old Monterey. The room was clean and had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, shower cap, a cup at a time coffee maker and refrigerator.

Esmeralda has always welcomed us with open arms at this establishment. The hotel is walking distance to the downtown area. Our rooms are always clean and the property is kept up well. We finally got to use the jacuzzi and pool. It felt really good after all the walking we did. All the workers are very friendly

I stayed in this hotel and was overall satisfied. The room is clean and the internet is stable and easy to use. The bag breakfast has more food than I expected. The queen size bed, however, is smaller than other queen size bed in other hotels I stayed.

The staff here were awesome! They were genuinely friendly and accommodating. The rooms were cleaned and in a good location. We had a 2 queen bed room and it had a tv, desk, dresser drawers, microwave, fridge bathtub and shower. The inside looked great! Good place to take your family! They had a pool outside and the parking was fairly easy. Only suggestion is the water pressure was a little low in the shower and the walls were thin so you could hear your neighbors.

Very nice motel, close to downtown Monterey and all the attractions, a five-minute drive to the wharf for the whale-watching trips. We stayed over a Saturday night in early October, 2021 when the weather in California was still warm. Hence the motel was quite crowded and on the pricier side.

Covid 19 restrictions RUINING hot breakfast experience associated with Best Western, must heat avail items in room microwave... Hotel was within walking distance of downtown and pier...

The manager was so helpful, and exceeded our expections! The room was very clean, upgraded and every day the room was cleaned right away! Pool and hot tub were very cleaned and they provided towels so you didn't have to use the room towels

Although the room price was high probably due to Labor Day Weekend, the hotel room was clean and well-lit with all the necessary amenities. The Front Desk staff was pleasant and polite. The only negative was my non-working TV and remote, although the Front Desk changed the battery. Lucky I didn't have to watch TV.

This was a no stress get away. Was greeted enthusiastically and everything from check in to checkout was efficient. The pool was refreshing and everything very very clean! Esmarelda was a delight! Hotel is conveniently located. Short drive to harbor and Monterey Aquarium. Many fine restaurants by aquarium.

I had forgotten I had been here before, years ago. This time around, I really enjoyed my stay. It started with a warm, friendly receptionist. She was the kindest person I encountered on this travel day and she gave me a free upgrade on my room. The second floor room surprisingly provides partial views of the bay. Wow. I wasn't expecting that. The furnishings appeared updated, the room was clean, and the fridge was in good working order. There's a wall heater/ac unit that functioned well. The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants. Parking felt cramped and when I awoke early morning the next day, all the spots looked filled. Location is convenient - near PCH, Monterey attractions, and close to a shopping center. I would totally stay here again.

The only positive thing to say about this motel is that the staff are very nice. The structure is old, with incredibly thin walls so you can hear every noise in the rooms surrounding yours (next door, above, below). This also means that the fairly constant traffic outside will be prominently heard, as well as people walking along the outdoor steps, or any kind of equipment operating. There was a beeping coming from the pool area all night long. The room was sparsely furnished and decorated. The laminate flooring, while surely easier to clean, made the room even louder and far less comfy than even a commercial grade carpeting would have been. The AC unit was very loud. Water pressure was extremely low. The beds were fairly comfortable and the linens were clean. We got little to no rest due to the noise unfortunately and it made for a rough next day. We won't stay here when visiting Monterey again. Unfortunately, it appears that many of the motels/hotels in Monterey are fairly old and likely don't offer much value for the price.

Hotel is simple and has everything you need, pool is heated and parking was good. Noise level was minimal and location is a short drive to main attractions. Breakfast was grab and go but offered items you could heat up.

The hotel is clean and the rooms are very comfortable and nicely decorated. Next time I wood ask for a room on the second floor because the wood floor in the rooms let you hear every step of the guest in the room above yours, but that is an option. Location: it is not in the center of the main attractions of Monterey, but only a 5 min drive away,; so if you have a vehicle I really recommend you to stay at this hotel.

Even though the exterior of the hotel looks dated, rooms have been recently remodeled, very close to many attractions, excellent customer service, it is in a safe neighborhood, heated pool, no issues with parking

We loved it. We could tell the room was cleaned to Covid standards. Modern, updated decor. Bed was so comfortable. Property was clean. Front desk clerk was so cheerful and personable. Appreciated the coffee and breakfast snacks !

The staff was very friendly and the location was great. However I still left the next morning more tired than the night before due to not sleeping because of the horrible bed and lots of noise upstairs.

Great spot. The employees were extremely accommodating and helpful. Our two room suite was adorable and a great size. This is kind of silly, but the TV had Disney JR as a channel and as a family with young children, it was great for winding down the kids in the evening. Wish it was closer to the beach but overall, great little hotel!

A moderate hotel in convenient location. Room is clean and simple decorated. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash need to push hard from wall attached containers. Breakfast provided in bag picked up at front desk, coffee and juice limited to one per person.

This Motel is ok for one or two nights. The walls are thin and noisy at night. We were woken up by the people upstairs- they were so loud! Other than noisy, it is adage area and close to the freeway and mall.

We were pleased with the room overall. The microwave turn table needed repair and there was a dirty cup left in the room from the previous gusts. The staff were very helpful and courteous. We will use this facility again.

I was only staying in Monterey for one night and just needed a place to crash before traveling home. The room was extremely clean and I couldn't have asked for better service at the front desk when I arrived!

Another great stay, this Best Western is our go to location when we stay in Monterey/Carmel. The rooms are very clean, the staff and front desk are very friendly. With the state Covid mandates in place, you can expect modifications at this hotel. I suggest if you book here and you have question or concerns about this hotel, call and ask. The Best Western site will give you information about current news and updates, but third party apps/site will not. I can say the hot breakfast is now a grab and go bag. Overall the hotel is wonderful and a very short 5 minute drive to Monterey and Carmel. To the staff at Best Western Park Crest Inn; keep up the wonderful customer friendly work. I appreciate the extra hard work you guys do, be well and stay healthy.

Great experience. Great to have a refrigerator in addition to a microwave. Four pillows on each bed! Very comfortable room. Note: Parking can be tricky on the first level. Overall a really nice experience.

Clean and comfortable room! Close to downtown and easy walk to dinner at Rosines and fisherman's wharf!!! Easy freeway access when you want to check out Carmel! The staff is great and check in was quick and check out even easier. Nice Best Western property that is well managed. There are rooms closer to downtown but this property is an easy walk to downtown.

Upon arrival I was greeted by Esmeralda which I have to say gave the most exceptional customer service I have ever experienced in my life. She was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about what she was explaining. Due to Covid I was hesitant on traveling and a little nervous but Esmeralda assured me of the extra mile Best Western goes to making sure their guests and staff are fully protected. She even went ahead and upgraded our room which was AMAZING! Definitely see myself coming back and asking for the same room again on our next visit to Monterey.

They are conscientious about Corona virus which is a plus. The pool is closed, but the photo shows they are still advertising it as an amenity. I supplemented the meager grab and go breakfast with outside food, but I understand it is made necessary by the virus. It's a good place for a mental health day or too, and hiking on nearby trails makes a change from swimming in their pool.

My littles and I were evacuated due to the riverfire that happened here in (San Benancio) Salinas, Ca. We always go on little staycations and this is the first hotel that I would ever go back to, recommend to others, as well as we plan to go back for another stay, but this time it will be for fun!

This was our first time staying here, and I was so impressed with the comfort level and being greeted with courtesy. The surrounding is peaceful and quiet, beautiful trees and perfect weather. The room was so roomy, modern decor and had a table inside. The breakfast bag was delicious because it contained pastry.I liked that there are security cameras everywhere for safety. Plenty of parking. We will definitely stay in this hotel again, added to our favorite

Hello! My family and I stayed here two nights. Staff was very nice and welcoming. Room was as other mentioned spotless. Very very clean. Nice hot showers too. Beds were very comfortable. I loved the fact that this hotel offered AC in our room, after being out all day our room was slightly stuffy, but we turned on the AC for about 10 mins and it cooled the roomed completely. Very nice. Note: We stayed on the second floor, no elevator available. Pool and spa closed due to COVID. We would definitely stay here next time. :)

Stay and price included continental breakfast and the pool. At no time during the reservation (made via the Best Western call center with an actual person) did the rep say that due to COVID breakfast will not be served nor that the pool is closed. The opposite- I asked and she said everything is included. Breakfast was a paper bag with a banana, water bottle, dry pastry and a bar. Staying at ground floor-a lot of noises came from the upper units. Very disappointing and not recommended.

Hi! I stayed here for 3 nights with my little guy and it was great! Everyone was so friendly and kind. I have no complaints. Room was spotless, very well cleaned! It was a little scary to travel during this weird time with Covid but I felt safe at the hotel :)

The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The management is also to be respected as this establishment is very good to everyone who works there, supporting families. Indeed, it feels like a family owned establishment, with everyone having a vested interest in the place. The rooms are sparklingly clean. Their response to the pandemic is to use ultraviolet light to insure they have thoroughly cleaned. They recently did an extensive renovation, and the new design is lovely. The location is great. It is within walking distance of much of Monterey including restaurants and the beach.

Arrived in December 2019. Front staff was very friendly and check in was fast and easy. Stayed upstairs in a corner room above the office. Room was nice and clean. Liked the design of the room, bed was good, room included a mini fridge and microwave, tv and coffee maker. Bathroom was ok, but none of the soap dispensers were filled; didn't bother to inform hotel staff because we brought our own. Breakfast in the morning was a nice addition for a pick me up. Breakfast included coffee, teas, milk, juices and hot and cold items, not bad at all! Over all our stay was wonderful, I recommend this Best Western for a good night sleep and what they have to offer. We will be back soon! Thank you to the staff!

very clean room,very friendly staff, fair price for last minute trip. wish more businesses were open, will be coming back when we make another trip to the area. room needs a channel guide. when this pandemic ends the city will be more fun.

We booked very last minute (an hour before arrival) and for the price had quite low expectations. Yes, it's not centrally located but if that's important to you then pay more to get it. The wharf is about 20 minute walk away or a few minutes drive, so nothing unbearable! We got upgraded so got spoilt to a little two bedroom suite type thing, both rooms attached to the bathroom area! Each room had a TV and were spacious and clean. It's not the sort of place you would be doing much more than using as a base to sleep but we did spend some time in the jacuzzi which was lovely. Breakfast was better than expected, given other hotels of similar cost up until now had only offered a few continental items. Here, we were spoilt to what you might expect more of from an American breakfast (waffles and a few cooked items) The room got extremely busy and we had been down there very early! Thanks for having us

The rooms have been tastefully updated. The exterior of the building is still in need of a facelift. The staff was very helpful & kind. Good location & easy access to Highway 1 & the Wharf. The bed & pillow were not the best. TV has very few channels. Most are the infomercials

went whale watching At Chris whale watching. Stayed here because it is very close to the wharf. The office staff are freakin awesome... The rooms are very nice and the hot tub is great... I would def stay here again... I only stay at Best Western and this was one of the most memorable stays..

The lady who I reserved the room with was wonderful but the actual stay wasn't great. Upon entering the room we smelt a very strong bleach smell, so we had to air it out. Moments later maid barged in without knocking, but apologized. The room next to us was being renovated so fans were blowing all night, we could also hear the guests in the upstairs room when they walked around. The room was clean, beds comfortable, but we wouldn't stay here next time.

This is a older property but well maintained. Rooms are on the small side, clean, nicely decorated, towels and sheet sparkly white with all the amenities at a reasonable price. Well stocked breakfast with plenty of variety and a lovely place th eat outside in the sun. Pet friendly unfortunately no grass. I love the fact the floor is hard serface. I wish all hotel made their pet friendly rooms hard surface.

When we come the this hotel we are always greeted with a warm smile by either Esmeralda or another friendly person on the front desk. The hotel is clean and the breakfasts are fresh fruit, eggs and a meat, and other breakfast items, i.e., cereal, toast, bagels. They also provide gluten free alternatives. I especially like their coffee.The hotel is within walking distance of Del Monte Shopping center and the main part of town. Great location! Fresh towels for the pool, too!

We stayed at BW over NYE to welcome 2020. The hotel was easy to find and had great staff! They were very friendly and willing to give s some info on entertainment around town. The rooms were clean and comfy and had all the amenities you need, including easy parking right out your door! I think my boyfriend and I enjoyed the free continental breakfast the most! Such a huge spread of delicious food to fuel us up for a day of adventuring. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but its centrally located within the property. The hotel itself is in a great location, easily walkable to the wharf and some yummy local restaurants like Heirloom Pizza. There is a trolley stop nearby to but we didn't use it as we were happy to walk to Alvarado street where a lot of the great bars and shops are. We loved the large fridge in the room to bring out leftovers back to and store a bottle of champagne for NYE at midnight. We will definitely be back!

Very nicely updated motel. I liked the new laminate and tile flooring. The office staff was very friendly. Very quiet and conveinient location. The breakfast room is small and can get too crowded though when busy.

Nice front desk staff. and includes breakfast. It's very clean, with a good location. We didn't try the spa but there is one inside the property. Also has a free parking spot. Good option for those who don't wanna spend too much ...

The hotel, despite some facial upgrades, is average. The location isn't particularly great or close to anything specific. Breakfast is very basic and not geared to alternative or healthy appetites. Generally quiet area. Parking is tight especially for anything larger than a mid size car or small SUV.

We spent two nights at this property . The external appearance is fairly standard for this category of hotel , there is as expected free parking near the rooms .Checkin was efficiently dealt with as was the checkout . The room was average size but very well presented and clean , as was the bathroom . Towels , toiletries and linen were of average quality . Water pressure was superb and sleep quality was good . There is a complimentary breakfast which we did not take advantage of . Location is good . In short as someone who travels worldwide six to eight months a year and is fortunate enough to usually stay in five star properties I was not expecting the best , but I was pleasantly surprised within its price point this is a good value hotel

We stayed here for 3 nights, the room was clean and well-equipped with a coffee maker , microwave and fridge. Parking was very easy and free. I've deducted one star as it was just a little too far from the centre of town - about a 20 - 25 minute walk uphill on the way back. It is one of a row of many motels so if we hadn't prebooked I might have considered one that was closer. But overall it was a good stay and i recommned it.

Older hotel, nice clean rooms but very small bathroom and sink area. Wish room had 2 chairs, awkward when only 1 person has a place to sit. Very quiet area, all you could hear were the harbor seals and the waves. Only issue was noisy refrigerator that we unplugged and noisy in room wall heater that was so loud we could not use it. Very small bath towels. Great breakfast.

The employees here stay a long time; therefore I am assuming they are happy with their employment. Esmeralda is an extraordinary person at the front desk. The parking lot was full every night, which speaks to something about this hotel. It is centrally located on the Monterey Bay, clean and safe.

We arrived a little early and were given choice of room. Pleasant and helpful staff. Got a ground floor room with no one above us. Great , pool good also , good breakfast. Shopping and food nearby . Good place to stop on trip down the coastal road

Everything was very nice..beds very comfy. ..location was awesome. Front desk superb..bkfst always hot n good. Cleanliness was superb. Neighbors were a little loud one night but no worries there. Overall very nice stay

Exceptionally friendly, helpful staff. Decent hot and cold breakfast offerings. We were a bit concerned about road noise, but our room, which was away from the highway in the lower-level block of rooms, was very quiet. The bedroom was somewhat spartan, like a budget motel, and with worn-looking laminate floors that I did not find appealing. But every other aspect of the experience staying here was positive.

This was our first experience at a Best Western and it was great. From check in to check out, Esmarelda was there with a smile. The room was spotless.Within walking distance of many attractions. The complementary breakfast and heated pool were a bonus!

Had a nice time, weather was warm so we were able to use pool and relax upon arrival. Location of motel was convenient, parking was right in front of room, was located less than 2 miles from waterfront. Very walkable, but driving was easy to all events that we had planned. Front desk was very helpful we would definitely stay in this establishment again.

Very clean and well-maintained modernized place. Lovely staff. Rooms are quite large, modernized by new laminate flooring (yay!, no filthy carpet), very comfortable a/c unit, beds, pillows, and strong and reliable Wifi. The bathroom was spotless with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. My room had two King beds and a sleeper sofa. Breakfast so simple but plenty of choices; scrambled eggs, one kind of meat per day, waffles, assorted sugar rolls, decent coffee (yup, I grade a breakfast on protein availability AND good coffee). They've got a good-looking pool but I didn't use it. In about 10 minutes one can comfortable walk to the restaurant/bar/shops district of the town. There are plenty of choices for entertainment and food. I did like this place and can recommend it.

Stayed in beautiful Monterey for 2 nights in September. Was slightly nervous about the parking situation having read reviews but loads of parking available when we arrived. There is also on street parking so don't fret. Munras Avenue is a handy 15 minute walk to Fishermans wharf. There is this style of accommodation all the way down so shop around. The accommodation is basic but clean. The internet was playing up the whole time we were there but we were given 10% discount due to this and this has not affected my review score. There is a small pool which we didn't get chance to use. It is located by the road but looked ok. The rooms are right on the car park so there is a little noise from cars being parked and people walking by. There is a perfectly nice breakfast available with cereal, toast, yoghurt, tea and coffee etc. The dining hall is small but we didn't struggle to get seated. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They recommended restaurants and a fab whale watching tour (see my other r views) There is a safe based at reception and free of charge.

Room smelled like moth balls. Nothing fancy here. Definitely a low end motel. It was clean but the bed was not comfortable and the A/C did not work properly. It kept going off even though it was still hot and the Temp was set low.

The room was clean and neat, bathroom was okay. Breakfast was simple and adequate. Location is easy drive to Aquarium and all the shops on Cannery Row and quick convenient access to freeway. There look to be more modern hotels in the same area.

Good location in the middle of the city and close to the harbour. We were 4 person (family) in one room and a bit small but manageable. We parked at the hotel and walked around the city for the next two days so perfect. Sure a hotel to go back to. Monterey is gorgeous !

Needed a place to stay for several days after leaving my housing situation. They provided a hot breakfast and free WiFi, I can't complain too much. Staff was friendly, place was clean, parking was free. My only real complaint was the bed. It was springy. This is a personal thing, I prefer a soft bed so I had trouble sleeping and my back hurt. Their pillows are cheap and foam-y. If you can, I say bring your own pillow. Otherwise, great Monterey location. Close to the mall and a short drive to downtown, easy access to the highway.

The accommodation was clean and a good size but a little dated as can be seen in the photos. We stayed for 1 night on our way elsewhere. The location was great, peaceful and walking distance to town. I found the accommodation to be expensive for what it is. Downside was that the fridge and air conditioning were noisy.

Convenient location, close to Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, Carmel, Point Lobos, Lovers' Point. Close to Del Monte Shopping Center. Spacious room, reasonably clean, good amenities, good breakfast, comfy bed. Noise level: can hear people walking in the unit above us. Staff could be more welcoming and helpful.

Motel was older but very clean. Front desk staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good. The room had air conditioning, microwave, and a mini fridge. The location was great to downtown Monterey and Big Sur. We stayed on the second floor and could see the water from our room. My only complaint would be the noise. We stayed directly above the front office closest to the road. The road is very busy so if you are a light sleeper I would suggest getting a room further away. Parking was a little tight in the evenings but we managed to find a spot.

I felt welcomed and appreciated hen checking in. The ladies, Lucinda and another were very professional, kind and have excellent customer service skills. My overall experience was excellent (check-in, room and check-out)

My daughter and I stayed one night and the staff was helpful and friendly. The room, however, was outdated and the "sitting room" in our suite was junky. Very old and uncomfortable sofa bed but king bed was fine. Not good attention to detail: there was no shampoo and conditioner in the holders in the shower. Parking lot is very small and narrow. Breakfast was average BW food. Great location, but we wouldn't stay here again.

We took our 11 Year old niece overnight to Monterey and this hotel was in a perfect location to all the things we wanted to do both in Monterey and Carmel. It was clean and spacious and great for what we needed. The breakfast had many good choices. The floors are laminate and I wish there was carpeting but they were clean and comfortable. I would stay again!

Motel was clean but older. Beds were comfortable but not the pullout. Rooms outdated. Ask for 2nd floor room as you can hear all noises above you and people going up and down steps. Small breakfast area. Breakfast was descent. Pool is small and parking is tight. Don't overpay for stay.

Top quality Best Western stay in Monterey, CA. Easy access to downtown and to Freeway Hwy 1. Short trip to Carmel and a shorter trip to the Del Monte Shopping Center where there is excellent food, clothing, jewelry and anything else you might wish to have.

A definite treat, staying away from the crowd & noise. With the best down time I could give myself. The room was large and very nice. The bed was very comfortable & I'm glad there was a nice tub to soak in. And the breakfast was very delicious and fulfilling! The manager of the Best Western Inn was very friendly, helpful and more courteous than you would likely get elsewhere.

Haven't stayed in a “motor lodge” type place in many years. Don't be afraid- these appear to be very popular in California. Very enjoyable stay for our grown family of 5. Rooms were nicely updated and we had an attached studio with sofa bed which gave our family extra room. Super clean. Very attentive staff. BEST breakfast we had across 4 hotels. I think they are real eggs! Small but perfect pool and hot tub for the kids at the end of a day. Highly recommend.

It was as expected for this type of hotel. Clean room that met my needs. Breakfast was fine though I would prefer an earlier start. The breakfast doesn't open until 0700 which is a little late for me. This is simple hotel that was one of the better priced in the area at teh time

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Best Western inn in Monterey. Everything was up to the standards we expected. The staff were courteous and efficient. The room was clean. The breakfast was great with an outdoor patio on which we could enjoy it in comfort.

Came to town for a golf tournament at two different courses. Location was perfect. Easy access in and out of hotel. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Planned to stay 3 nights and ended up adding another night to the trip. Very clean and perfect for my family.

I am a frequent hotel user. I have severe allergies and must have a very clean room without perfumed cleaners or bleach smells. My room was perfect! Very clean and comfortable. The grounds are spotless. The building is older and is actually a motel. I missed that part when I booked the room, otherwise I am not sure I would've stayed there. However, I am glad we did! The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The WiFi was great and the TV had Direct TV. We stayed 2 nights and will definitely stay again!

BW Park Crest Inn turned out to be a great base for driving tour of Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur. Motel-style inn is a short drive to all attractions and provides easy access to Highway 1. Room was clean and updated - with fridge, microwave, and air conditioning. Front desk staff were excellent and helpful with directions etc... Included breakfast and close proximity of Whole Foods, Rite Aid drug store at nearby Del Monte shopping mall proved convenient for groceries/supplies. Found ample pay/multi-hour parking near all main tourist attractions - would just recommend bringing along a good supply of coins as chip credit cards did not work well in pay machines. Good value for the area!

This hotel was one of the best on my roadtrip around California. The lady in reception was lovely & full of useful information, the room was was very clean & comfortable, the location is also very good, it's only a short walk down the hill into town & a short run to 17 mile drive. The included breakfast was enjoyed on a lovely outside patio & made a very pleasant start to the day in the sunshine.

Lovely comfortable beds, room was spacious and clean. Easy to find and not too far away from the beach, it was about a mile walk. Has a pool and hot tub. Towels provided for the pool. Check in was quick and easy. Didn't check out breakfast options, so can't comment on it.

Place was great. The kids enjoyed the breakfast. Convenient locations. Would stay again, intent to recommend if any body asked for a place to stay for a decent price. Nothing overly exciting, but it was a place to sleep!

Our stay was like having "a home away from home"! The room was kept very clean by Belvina, and Oscar and Julio were excellent servers in the Breakfast Room. Chanel and Esmeralda made our stay very comfortable and warm. We never wanted for anything.

This was my third time staying at this Best Western in Monterey. We always need a 2 room place to stay, this one is clean and reasonably priced. Kids enjoy the breakfast, its close to most everything we do while in town. Will stay again

We had a 2 nigth stay while visiting Monterey and this hotel is a perfect location, short drive to the Wharf . Our room was nice size and clean . The lady on reception was very welcoming and gave us some great advice for our stay and onward journey. Only thing I would say is the breakfast room is small but if the weather had been warmer there are tables outside which would have eased the space . Would recommend.

Short drive to fisherman's wharf. Room was fine (and clean). Nothing special. Check-in was fast with pleasant staff. The breakfast buffet was pretty industrial with few choices. All in all, pretty average. But no complaints either.

We were with two of our grandchildren, and reserved a room with a queen and two twins. The twins ended up being in a separate room with its own TV. Our grandchildren, ages 7 and 5, were thrilled! They also loved the breakfast.

They had a room that we could fit 6 people in (were a big family), a clean pool and spa, and full on hot breakfast. I would definitely stay there again. The property is within driving distance to Monterey Bay and was surprisingly affordable.

The manager of the front desk has a wonderful personality. My room was very clean and exceptional. The free breakfast has many hot dishes and a variety of drinks. The property is well kept and is very clean. The walk to the Monterey Wharf is only 15 minutes.

This hotel is located very close to the downtown and beach/park areas of Monterey. easy to walk into town or bike and use the extended bike path along the old railway - a really good scenic ride - even if you rent a bike. The Hotel is also very close to a couple good restaurants and a large mall. if you are coming via Hwy #1 the hotel is very easy to find, just take Munras Ave exit and you are there. If you are coming into town from the east it is a bit trickier to find, but follow all the signs to Downtown and you will get there. Friendly staff, breakfast was ok but good have been better.

Hotel was very clean and centralized to most tourist attractions in Monterrey. The staff was very nice, attentive, willing to help with directions. Looking forward to visit this hotel during the summer months.

Monterey is an expensive place to stay. I was with a group and they have stayed at this location for years. Customer Service is top notch- Esmeralda and her staff were all very accomodating- We were first given a room that smelled strongly of smoke lower level but we were able to change it- There are ashtrays outside each room which I know it is a non-smoking property and I guess the idea of making an ashtray convenient is to put them right outside the rooms but that might also contribute to someone smoking right outside your room... No elevators so keep that in mind. Large rooms- Noisy heater- but how often do you need a heater in California- ? A/C may be noisy as well- Carpeted floors- Minimal bed linens- Comfortable beds- microwave- and refrigerator and a small coffee maker with the plastic tray. Was happy that there were actually 2 suitcase stands in the closet which is great! The hotel is close to the Mall where there is a Whole Foods Market and lots of restaurants.

Basic motel, clean with good service. Not newest place in town but quite acceptable. Very reasonable rates for this high tourist location. Room 131 at ground level and no rooms above was very quiet. Office staff very friendly. Good breakfast included in room rate. Certainly worthy of return visit.

The BW Park Crest in Monterey is an excellent location for exploring downtown, the wharf, and the aquarium. The staff are remarkably personable. The rooms are clean. The included hot breakfast is an added bonus. This hotel is a great value.

In a touristy town like Monterey almost everything is overpriced except this BW. May not be the “best” of the Best Western example but still it gives a reasonable option for those stay in a touristy town without paying a tourist price.

Good location, clean, comfortable stay. Very friendly, helpful staff. The desk went beyond the call of duty and gave us a wonderful recommendation to the Old Fisherman's Grotto on the wharf. We had a special meal there.

Solid accommodation at a very reasonable price. Good bed and better than expected breakfast. Would recommend for budget conscious travel, close to all the action in and around area. You could do worse for higher price

Motelstyle, classic. Situated among many other motels in popular Monterey. Prices are of cause higher in this area, taking that in consideration, Park Crest is not expensive. Rooms are ok, breakfast as well, but breakfastroom is very small. Service from staff was fine, poolarea ok, wifi great.

The breakfast is great, carb, protein,fruit.... I had stayed in other hotels more expensive than this one. But the breakfast is best here! And the location is very close to 17 miles and fish canning factory.

From booking, to my first phone call, to check-in, during stay, and through to our checkout we had a wonderful experience. Esmeralda, the manager, is so friendly as well as helpful to out of town guests. Our check in was not until 3 PM and we arrived at 10:30 AM with intent to just drop off our bags and there was a room ready for us. The room was so clean as were the surrounding grounds. Hotel is only 2 miles away from Aquarium, Cannery Row, and the warf. It was quiet, safe, and worth mentioning again very clean. All our room amenities were in great working order. Overall we had an absolutely fabulous stay and will most definitely be returning!!!

We were in San Francisco visiting friends and decided to do a last minute Whale Watching trip Monterey. We had jotted down a few hotels based on reviews online. We asked to see the room before we booked to make sure they were clean. Everything was a positive experience. The rooms were awesome. Clean, well stocked. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely stay at a Best Western again.

Visiting the area for the first time. This was a good location and easy to find. The weather was perfect. We enjoyed taking the 17 mile drive the following morning. However, the bed mattress was covered in plastic under the sheets... not an enjoyable experience.

This hotel is the variety where you park right in front of your room, spaces permitting. As such there can be a bit of noise depending on the crowd that happens to be staying during your visit. In general, over four nights it was pretty quiet when I stayed here. The rooms are not huge, but mine had one king bed, a sitting chair with ottoman, a writing desk, an entertainment center with dresser/refrigerator/microwave and two bedside tables. Electrical outlets were plentiful, although there was not one right near the bed (which I prefer for my phone/alarm clock.) The bathroom would be good for couples as the shower and toilet are separate from the sink area (separated by a door.) The bathroom had a window in my room which is a rarity in hotels these days. The breakfast here is better than at the Best Western De Anza (where I stayed last week.) It has everything that they serve there in addition to very fluffy scrambled eggs, tater-tots (potatoes,) and either bacon or sausage depending on the day. The only way the De Anza Best Western beats this breakfast is they open earlier by a couple hours (I know they say 7, but at the De Anza they have everything out by at least 5:30 most days.) At the Park Crest the breakfast overlords keep the area locked until 7 a.m., which is fine most days. One thing worth noting, this hotel (or at least my room) does not have a safe. Miscellaneous: The wifi works very good here. The parking spaces are small. If you have a full size pick-up as I do it will be tight, but doable. If you have an RV, no chance.

I gave this hotel a grade of "B-". I was disappointed that although this hotel got a 4-star rating from other travelers, I know for a fact that this hotel is not the best that Monterey has to offer. I would compare the overall experience of this hotel to one of the ones that we have stayed in over in the town of Salinas. This hotel would cater more to the passers-through and road trippers; this is not resort-style accommodations. Pros: This hotel is located in a nicer area of Monterey. The staff were generally friendly and helpful. Although the staff did not acknowledge that I am gold member; they did switch my room to a room that was closer to my family. They also allowed us to use their beautiful outdoor patio area for some of our meals. That was really nice of them. Also, when there was some minor damage done to our room, the hotel fixed it and did not charge us. The breakfast was OK. Cons: Although located in a nice area of Monterey, this hotel is located next to a busy, noisy street. It was hard to converse with family in between the noise. Also, the parking lot is a bit of a danger. There are 2 levels to it, and there is a steep grade from the top level to the lower level. It is a tight fit, so any wrong moves or misdirection, and you feel like you're about to barrel into the lower level hotel rooms. The breakfast area is very small and crowded. We had to take turns in between crowds to get our food and drinks; not what I would call convenient. If you're looking for more "resort-style" lodging, this hotel is not for you. You can tell this is an older hotel that's trying to keep up with modern amenities and upgrades, but this is not a $150+ hotel for what you get. You might try other nearby hotels for a better value.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The first room we were allocated was perfect however, due to an unpleasant stain we were relocated immediately. A short walk into Monterey. A five minute drive up the road to Carmel. Pebble Beach is only a few minutes further on. Breakfast was very good & provided excellent value for money. Staff were extremely helpful, friendly & efficient. The breakfast room opens at 7.30am which allows plenty of time to have breakfast & then walk into town for the 9am whale watching tours. If you tell the tour operator that you are staying at this hotel you will receive a small discount. Would definitely return. One point to note if you turn right out of the entrance & go up the hill about 250 yards there is a very large shopping centre (with restaurants) on the left. It is not very clearly marked but there are plenty of shops & supermarkets there - wished we had known about it on night one.

Stayed for one night, quick get away for hubby and I. Hotel was very clean as was the room. It served it's purpose and the price was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only complaint was the bed and pillow. Not very comfortable.

they double charge your stay in pending charges to your card which is not released til 7 days after they release the pending chargesthe staff tried to say this is a common practice when using a third party to book when challenged it was the type of card I used then oh each BW is independently owned it states this practice on this plague here in office

We had a two night stop here. First of all, the parking is pretty good, no extra charge for this and there plenty of parking spaces. You will usually be able to park your car very near to your allocated room. Check in was quick and friendly. We were allocated room 169 which had two queen sized beds in it. Both the beds were very comfortable. Room nicely tidied and clean but the room was a bit tired and drab. Decent tv, decent shower and bathroom and overall the bedroom is a very decent size. The pool is heated outside but certainly on the small size. The breakfast is served behind reception in a fairly small breakfast bar but at least we were able to find an empty table. Breakfast is pretty basic, fresh fruit, cereals, small sausages, scrambled egg and potatoes. There's also yogurts, pastries, teas coffees and fresh orange juice. I had the cooked breakfast once but it was less than look warm and therefore not particularly good. They do offer gluten free bread if required. The hotel is in a pretty good location and you can walk to Old Fishermans Wharf in about 20mins. The Park Crest Inn is certainly not luxurious but is in a good location, staff helpful and I found our room clean and comfortable

We enjoyed our recent stay here. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming and helped us with our stay. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the self catering continental breakfast (there is a good choice for all). Only drawback is the room - whilst clean and tidy - the decor is in need of a refurb. Slightly outdated.

This a great hotel option in Monterey. Great location very close to Carmel and Monterey Bay Aquarium. The pictures online drew me in and I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed my stay her. Room was updated, nice decor, very clean. Bed a bit noisy getting in and out, but no problem while sleeping. Also there was no hairdryer in room, but I didn't ask at front desk (maybe they lend them out). Other then that all amenities listed on website the room offered. Breakfast options great (scrambled eggs, sausage links, fresh make your own waffles with toppings, yogurt, assorted pastries and toast, bagels with cream cheese, cereal, coffee, tea, juice and fresh fruit). Staff is friendly and attentive. Some personnel seem shy, but diligent workers. Overall loved my stay and will defiantly be considering this option when back in Monterey area.

Pros: Excellent breakfast. Kind staff. Clean bathroom. Cons: Trash trucks banging around in the parking lot at early hours of the morning. Large, brown stain(s) on the floor. Brown smudges on white bedspread. For over $200 a night I would have expected better carpeting and cleaner bedspreads.

I usually stay at one of the two BWs in Carmel but each were fully booked so I stayed here. Very easy access/egress to Hwy 1 to get into Carmel. End unit room (#144) best BW room I've stayed at between the 3 BWs. Staff was helpful and advised me to call and link my BW Rewards and AAA so to double points and earn free stay faster. Breakfast options a pleasant surprise although the dining layout is cramped. Indoor/outdoor dining option nice but outdoor space would have worked better had the standing heaters been removed and stored away until winter.

Had a very nice experience with this Best Western. The room was clean and fresh. The windows were CLEAN! And all of the service people were very courteous and knowledgeable. They also helped in letting us know how to receive more points. That was a positive! Great breakfast, too. Plenty of choices and fresh fruit and REAL EGGS!

As most reviewers have stated this is a very nice hotel, conveniently located with friendly staff, clean rooms and a very good breakfast. For my wife and me this is about we desire and would certainly recommend it.

Very welcoming staff, easy access rooms, nice pool and warm Jacuzzi! Rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was a fast and easy continental breakfast that included eggs and bacon, sausage, waffles and juice, whole milk, hot coffee. I great place to jump off to lovers point and pacific grove!

This is in general an acceptable place. Overall, I think that the Best Western properties have a good set of standards and this property pretty much meets them. It's a good place to sleep, shower, and change. Since that is our main use of a hotel (we aren't the types that use amenities like the pool, exercise room, or spa), this was fine. There were a couple of maintenance issues that should have been taken care of and reported by housekeeping, but the room was clean and updated and worked out fine for us. On the positive, the room (upstairs) had a view of the ocean and given how close it was to a main street, it was very quiet. Parking was free and ample. A few downsides, though. This seems minor, but the little corner shelf in the shower was placed in a horrible spot and I kept banging my elbow into it. The breakfast is the typical coffee, cereal, fruit (cantaloupe) and breads. There were hot offerings, beside the waffles and oatmeal, which were scrambled eggs and potatoes. I didn't try those because they looked like the typical awful ones at those types of free hotel breakfasts. I put my english muffin through the toaster at the darkest setting twice and it was not only still not toasted, but barely warm. However, it was nice to sit outside and eat. There is one serious problem with this place. The stairs leading up to the second floor are flat-out dangerous. They are so narrow that you can't put your entire foot on it and it is a serious fall hazard. I'm actually surprised that OSHA or some regulator hasn't ordered it fixed. Both my wife and I nearly tripped on it several times. This Best Western isn't the best one, but it is satisfactory for the most part and we'd stay there again.

My mom and I stayed here for one night while on a road trip and we have zero complaints! Positives: - Decent proximity to aquarium and coast. Not within walking distance, but it is very easy to drive down to the aquarium and park. - Excellent proximity to Del Monte Shopping Center, which has literally every store you could ever want or need. - Outstanding staff! My mom left her cell phone in the room and didn't realize until after we checked out. We had already parked at the aquarium and would not be done for several hours. We called the front desk, they immediately found the phone and held it for us until we returned that evening to retrieve it. - Great continental breakfast. - Refrigerator and microwave in room. - A table and two chairs in room that you can actually sit and have a meal at! - Clean, comfortable and safe. Negatives: - Perhaps a bit dated. Overal, we had a great stay at the Best Western Park Crest Inn. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend to others traveling to the area.

We visited the Big Sur for the day and stayed the night here in Monterey. Best Western was perfect for that, had everything we needed and the breakfast the next morning was great. It's not five star but certainly did the job well for the price.

This Best Western is a solid option, a good motel, with a swimming pool and a 10 min walk to downtown Monterey. The breakfast does not feel modern -- it is served in disposable utensils, cups and plates, including individual packages of ketchup instead of larger containers, which leaves a mountain of plastic. This lack of awareness feels out of sync for a hotel that sells access to a marine sanctuary.

We would definitely stay here again. Clean comfortable rooms, great breakfast. The only problem we experienced was with parking our pick-up. The turn to go down where there was more parking looked to tight to attempt, and the upper area was always full especially with even larger work trucks from workers staying here. One night we had to park on the street behind the hotel. Other than that this is a nice place.

Our second stop on our way from LA to San Francisco. Hotel was located close to a big mall and quite close to downtown too. Lots of other hotels nearby. This was a basic hotel, nothing special but fullfilled our needs. Comfortable beds, good size room. Breakfast ok, bonus from the fresh fruits. Swimming pool was a let down, too deep for our youngest and filthy too...

The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, and breakfast was included. It was nice to have a heated pool and Jacuzzi. The only downside was the narrow parking spaces. The price was average for the area.

This is my second time staying at the wonderful hotel. It's across the street from Sunrise Senior Living where my mother resides. It's up the street from the historical buildings in Monterey. The location couldn't be better. Each stay the rooms have passed my black light inspection. Yes I'm a clean freak and I check every hotel room. But it isn't the cleanliness or the location that keeps bringing me back to this hotel it's the beds, the pillows, and the great television. Yes you could stay at the Portola but you would be paying way too much when you can stay here. I love their bedding so much I ended up buying a pillow. It's my favorite pillow! The front desk is friendly, the rooms don't smell, and once again the great pillows. I also love the soap and shampoo dispenser in the shower what a great idea!

Our room with 2 beds actually had two rooms that shared a bath. This was nice for the kids to have their own room. The hotel is a 60's-era “motel” but is clean and nice. The breakfast room for the free breakfast is small and got crowded at peak breakfast times, but the food was good - eggs, a waffle maker, and the usual continental breakfast fare on top of that. I would stay there again if in the area. The staff was super friendly, and this is very close to 17-mile drive.

Located on Munras avenue, this hotel has easy access to Monterey and Carmel attractions. We have stayed her many times and find consistently pleasant accommodations and staff. We have never heard any road noise.

Cheap, good location, big suite, breakfast was nice. They were the positives. The negatives: the long wait for someone to appear at the check-in desk. We rang the bell a few times, and no sign. One other lady waiting with us gave up and left. When the staff member did arrive, and as friendly as she was, there was no apology - in fact just the question "do you still want the crib? It is $6 extra per night" as I am holding my 2yr old. So clearly, we would still take it (and not for free as compensation for the wait, as it turned out). Despite being promised the crib would be with us shortly, it didn't appear for a good while. And when it did, the lady from reception left it at the door for us to assemble and make-up. As I said before, she was really friendly but maybe management should look at getting an extra staff member in to help with the workload? The suite was dated and looked like a DIY enthusiast had been at it, with the tv in the extra room powered by an extension lead screwed into the wall and lead fed through a hole in the wall. The worst thing was that the display for the aircon/heating read "ERR 4". I've no idea what it meant but it didn't work and the room was freezing as a result. This place worked for what we needed, but I won't be heading back there anytime soon. The rates are low for a reason. If you're looking for something luxurious, look elsewhere.

The room was quite large and clean. The property is well maintained and quiet. Breakfast was a debacle - the breakfast room is being renovated so breakfast was in a guest room. The breakers kept flipping and the toaster, wafflemaker etc, wouldn't work. The attendant didn't seem to know how to fix it even though I told her it was more than likely the breaker. HOWEVER, I doubt once the breakfast room is up and running anyone else will have the same issue. Even with the troubles we'd stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Basic lodging but clean and very well priced. Very quiet, too, and good location—easy driving distance to local attractions. Friendly service at the front desk. Had everything we were looking for in a reasonably priced place to stay on the coast.

Spring break stay; enough kids for pool games (surprised to swim in March - heated pool!) Breakfast selection good with extra seating on outside patio. Parking is a challenge with 2 buildings at different elevations and spaces tricky to get in and out of. Careful with your rental car! Unlike other Best Westerns in Monterey, this motel has an unassuming, basic exterior and lobby. However the rooms are comfortable, reasonably spacious, and clean. The breakfast consists of standard fare for motels, not remarkable but decent. If you don't mind the modest exterior, this is a good choice in terms of value.

We stayed in this motel during our roadtrip. This motel is just basic place to stay one night. Rooms need some updating. There's smell awful in breakfast room and breakfast was -not so good. Otherwise I didn't expected anything special for 2,5 star motel. Staff was great.

The hotel is a good hotel and has good service, it can definitely use some renovation but what really irreplaceable with this hotel is the LOCATION! It is only 5 minutes to the Del Monte Shopping Center, about 20 min to the Warf and bey 15 to Alvarado Street.

We stopped here on our way back north, hoping to relive some wonderful times we had in the area decades earlier. The hotel is a disappointment - seems to me to below BW standards - are there any? The building is old and looks it. There are big trash containers in front of some units, and these were overflowing during our stay. If you're desperate and looking only for a clean comfortable bed and don't care about the room or property, this is OK. But it's not a place to hang out. We had a little front room in our queen suite but it was freezing so we didn't use it. Also there was a metal divider between the two rooms that I kept stubbing my toe on. Just not somewhere we would stay again, especially after having experienced a beautiful La Quinta the evening before. I don't know what the BW brand stands for anymore, so we have definitely branched out.

This is an older Best Western that has some upgrades. As with all Best Westerns we have stayed at the staff is very professional, polite and friendly. We had a unique room that had a separate sitting room from the bedroom and was very comfortable. Close to all activities here in Monterey.

We stayed here for the AT&T at pebble beach the motel is close to everything and its easy to get on the freeway from here as well we will definately look to stay here again for the golf tournament next year

We stayed at this Best Western during our time volunteering for the AT&T. Perfect location. Easy to get to freeway. You can walk to downtown Monterey to all kinds of restaurants. Large shopping center also within easy walking distance. Staff very helpful and friendly, rooms clean, breakfast good.

Rooms are clean and comfortable. Bathroom was always freezing cold. Friendly staff. Great location for a stop off and very close to 17 mile drive. I wouldn't recommend staying here longer than a night or two.

I stayed here for a short weekend trip, but was treated with an amazing and accommodating staff. We received a room upgrade for our room not being ready on time, without asking.The jacuzzi outside was broken at the time, and the continental breakfast lacked sufficient seating. Great room rates for the quality of stay!

Our trip to Monterey was unplanned; we were among the many evacuees leaving the Santa Barbara/Ventura area to escape the Thomas Fire. When we first arrived at the Best Western Park Crest Inn, we did not know how long we would be staying since we didn't know when the fire would be contained. Ultimately, our Monterey trip turned into a two-and-a-half week stay, so my husband and I got to know the hotel pretty well. We discovered that we could not have picked a better spot than the Best Western Park Crest Inn. Staff: This is what truly distinguishes this hotel from all the others. We found everyone to be helpful, friendly, conscientious and very skilled at their jobs—whether at the front desk, tending the breakfast room, or cleaning rooms. If we could add extra stars to our rating in this category we would! The hotel manager, Esmeralda Frausto, particularly, is exceptional. My husband and I have never experienced such truly caring, helpful, welcoming, accommodating, resourceful, knowledgeable service as we experienced from Esmeralda. In everything she does, it is obvious that she loves her work and truly cares about every guest. She listens and is ready to help in any way she can, she is quick to address any issue that may come up, and anticipates guests' needs. We cannot say enough good things about this very remarkable person. She and the rest of the staff made our stay a complete pleasure. Cleanliness: Our room was very clean; everything was fresh and well maintained—bedding, paint, furniture, carpet, and bathroom/vanity areas. And there were no odors (cleaning or otherwise). Breakfast: A very good, well rounded breakfast each morning. We opted for the scrambled eggs, potatoes, cereal, yogurt and fruit, but breakfast options also include sausage, a variety of breads/Danish pastries/muffins, juice, and more. There was a nice selection of condiments, too: hot sauce, cream cheese, ketchup, etc. The dining room is small (but not tiny), so it can get crowded depending upon timing and whether or not the hotel is full. Whenever it was so busy we couldn't find a table, we grabbed a muffin and coffee, went back to our room for half an hour and returned to the dining room to find several open tables. Quiet: Our upstairs room was extremely quiet. I am very sensitive to noise, so I appreciated that our room seemed immune from any of the typical hotel noises (from TVs/conversation in adjoining rooms, traffic, refrigerator motor, a/c or heating fans, etc.). There have been comments about a thumping sound made whenever one is getting in or out of bed. That is true. There is metal box around the base of the bed (I suspect to keep items from getting lost under the bed), which causes this sound. I noticed it, but it didn't bother me. Location: We love the location of this hotel, which is away from the busyness, bustle and construction work of downtown, but an easy walk to downtown attractions and uptown shopping. We are walkers so a 1-mile walk through the historic sections of Monterey or a 2-mile walk to the Aquarium is an enjoyable adventure. Del Monte Shopping Center is approximately half a mile away; we often stopped here for lunch at Whole Foods. Trader Joe's is half a mile toward downtown. Don Dahvee Park is directly across the street for a stroll along trails. The Monterey public library is also just half a mile away. For driving, it's easy to go down Pacific Street over to Lighthouse Avenue to get to the aquarium, Cannery Row, New Monterey or Pacific Grove. Access to Highway 1 north and south are near the Del Monte Shopping Center (half a mile away) with a gas station at the corner. This made day trips to Carmel, Elkhorn Slough, and Santa Cruz very easy. In summary, this location afforded easy access to Highway 1, food, gas, and uptown/downtown destinations, plus a AAA office (on Soledad) and good laundromat (Monterey Express Wash on Soledad) nearby. Free Parking: We had no problem with parking throughout our 2-1/2 week stay.

Wifi kept going out over and over, bed wasn't that comfortable, other than that is was ok. Nothing super great, just ok. Food was good, bacon and eggs and stuff for breakfast, parking was not adequate

Sun powered system has make use of energy much efficient. Bathroom may be need a fan to force the moisture out. It has much of condensation around the bathroom window. This may cause damage later on in the future.

This was one step up from a Motel 6 as I remember them. We only stay at BW properties. I was very disappointed. The room smelled like Lysol the minute I opened the door. A wave of that smell. The room was clean, but should not smell like a Lysol. The blankets where not even good enough for the pets. They where pitiful. Most all the BW's have the Honeycomb weave blankets that are very nice and heavy weight for comfort and warmth. The property is tired and dated and for the area needs to be upgraded to get 3 stars from AAA! Wow, put on the glasses. The Bed was comfortable. The room clean, just way to dated for a 3 star review.

Stayed here for 2 nights and found it to be perfect for our needs. The staff were lovely and helpful, the room was spacious and clean, beds comfy and breakfast good. Some rooms are being renovated, which was not noisey at all. Distance from Aquarium was a short 5 mins drive. Close to fast food down the road or around the corner. I would stay here again next time I visit. :)

This hotel was perfect for our family. We had a room that had 2 rooms so the kids had their own space, which was a bonus! It was in a location easy to get to all the tourist spots in Monterey. They even had a hot tub and pool, which my kids were crazy enough to jump into. The breakfast in the morning was better then other locations I have stayed at in the past. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Oakhurst Best Western for our family trip in December 2017. We made the reservation while on the road the day before, the service and the deal offered was great value for money. A well presented motel in a beautiful setting.

Very helpful staff. Late check in, let us swap to a downstairs room and helped us with some milk for a late dinner. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was really good. Very good value for money. Would highly recommend.

Room was clean and neat, bathroom a bit tight due to poor design. Breakfast was simple and adequate. Would suggest walking over to Parker-Lusseau Bakery for their outstanding French pastries and top-quality espresso, however! Location is easy drive to Aquarium and quick access to freeway

Check in was quick and the staff was great! Room was very clean. The bed was comfortable, the linens clean and nice to sleep in. The bathroom had plenty of space and the towels were clean. Room was made up every day! The breakfast choices were good - from toast to yogurt to eggs and bacon to waffles. Coffee and tea, milk also available. Parking was plentiful and the area was older, but definitely not grungy! They have a small pool, too. Within walking distance to Alvarado Street and Old Fisherman's Wharf, where you can find restaurants, bars, shops. There is also the Del Monte Center (mall) with plenty of shops and more restaurants nearby. I would recommend staying here.

Exterior of property is well maintained. "Senior" room (154) was adequate except for the bed. Most uncomfortable 3 nights sleep I've had all year. Good location and a well stocked breakfast room. Ceiling above bathtub has some mold developing and the flip down chair for bathing doesn't tempt usage.

We had the handicap mobility room right next to the mail office. VERY convenient location to everything and we loved the staff, our bed, the breakfast, the pool and hot tub! We plan to return next time we visit Monterey.

When we first opened the door to our room I smelled a strong rush of cleaning supplies. Usually, this would bother me, but a super-clean motel is exactly what we want with a little toddler running around on the floor. Service was VERY friendly and accommodating. We were quite pleased with our stay. No complaints at all!

My granddaughter and I were in Monterey for a whale watching trip and stayed at this Best Western.The room was great, our stay was good and it was an easy drive to where we had to catch the boat. The breakfast was one of the better ones I've had at a Best Western.

The hotel staff are great and I would say they do everything within their power to make you comfortable. The unfortunate thing is what they can't do...enlarge the parking area to actually accommodate the number of guests that stay there at one time. Parking is cramped and sparse. The breakfast is okay. Nothing to write home about, but it is nice it's included in your stay (not all hotels do that). However, the room they serve the food in is small, maybe 10 x 15 and it is difficult to get your food because they crammed in too many tables (even though not enough to help). Think of sitting to eat your breakfast while someone's backside is against the back of your head because they are trying to access the small fridge or make a waffle. There is outside tables, if you are okay sitting there in 40 degree cool air. Would be nice to enlarge the room, by moving the office somewhere else.

The manager let me use BW Rewards points so I was able to stay for free! With a good free breakfast, comfortable bed, chair and sunrise sipping tea, I was really relaxed. Maybe I try the jacuzzi next time.

Very Good breakfast very helpful employees. Walking distance to fisherman's wharf and mall. Just need more towel in the room we only have 2 towels in the room. At least they have to put 4 so we don't have to call and ask.

Excellent service . Breakfast included and it was good, the basis . Confortables beds and very clean room. Parking lot close and clean . The only thing is the tv programs. I understand they are not going to have all channels but at least the regular tv should work .

We felt the price was very competitive given the amenities (parking and HOT breakfast). The location was great and very convenient to everywhere we wanted to explore in the area. Property was well maintained and clean.

The Crest Inn was a great place. It was clean, breakfast was good, and the staff was very courteous. I would definitely stay there again. Parking is tight especially for people with large trucks. The only thing I would change is the size of the pool towels. They're kind of small for adults but the right size for a child.

Clean, affordable & quiet for family overnight needs. Pool small but also clean. Breakfast family orientated (and at no extra cost). Convenient for visiting down-town Monterey area, but will need to drive to more popular wharf and Cannery Row areas. Easy to find motel off of highway one.

Well priced, very clean property. Continental Breakfast included with each night stay. Ample parking even on a sold-out weekend. Great for families, nice pool & spa area. Friendly staff. Very quiet and restful sleep, although beds need replacing. Old spring mattresses.

Read the reviews of this motel...all were very good. One comment that stuck in my mind was how nice the beds were....they were right. We were only one mile from the ward and less than 2 miles from Cannery Row. We will book this motel again....

This hotel is a great value with a very professional staff. It is walking distance to Old Town Monterey and Old Fisherman's Wharf. There is A Trader Joe's downtown and on Tuesday nights there is a Farmer's Market and outdoor food booths. We also recommend Cibo's, an Italian restaurant with a great Happy Hour and live music!

Free parking, free WiFi, free and delicious breakfast provided. Cozy and clean room, the bed is very comfortable. The Location is easy to go the Monterey and Carmel area for sightseeing, shopping , golfing by driving.

Great staff and I liked an opening window in the bathroom. Older place in relatively good shape. They keep the swimming pool heated nicely. The bed wasn't comfortable (advertisement said "pillow top" but we certainly didn't get that). There was a line at check out and they don't have express check out.

I love an Inn that is clean, reasonable, nicely decorated, has internet, and had a good breakfast included!! This has it all. Plus, it had a discount, I was not originally aware of, for visiting a family member at the Senior Living facility across the street.

This hotel filled our needs perfectly. We upgraded to a double room so me and my buddy had separate rooms. The beds were great and the room quiet enough to hear seals a half mile away. Staff was courteous. I have stayed here before and will again. It is close enough to downtown and allows convenient routes to Pacific Grove or the warf

We stayed here for 2 nights to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Monterey Aquariom and Bay. The nights were quiet, allowing us to sleep well. We enjoyed our meals at the various eating establishments located on and aroung Cannery Row.

Can we possibly be talking about the same hotel? We booked two nights here in September. The room we were given was at the bottom of a ramp and actually had posts in front of it so no one would drive thru our window. I have severe arthritis and had to hold onto a railing to edge my way up and down the ramp. I asked for a different room. They only had a two bedroom on the second floor but no elevator so I couldn't do that either. It's not just the hardship of getting up and down, if there was a fire I'd be in trouble. The breakfast was mediocre and very crowded. The rooms were very old. We left after one night as during the night I heard a cars brakes squealing as it edged down the ramp and I would have never forgiven myself if something happened. We ended up at a Hilton Gardens that was $100. a night more but worth it. Just not planned in the budget. I have more notes on this place somewhere and can't find them. Will add a review if I do. This place cost $199.80 for the one night! It is in no way worth it. The front desk staff was very apologetic. Since this was basically the only room (altho I had booked a few weeks ahead) it got foisted on us. I don't know how it could even be legal to have such a set up.

This is a typical Best Western, with the usual clean rooms and good location. Monterey is a tourist area so it was nice that our rooms were quiet but close to a nice shopping area with restaurants, Whole Foods, Macy's, etc. Easy to find, and easy to get to the nearby freeway or local attractions.

We had originally only planned to stay one night in Monterey but the continued closure of PCH meant we added a second night to this part of our West Coast Road Trip so we could travel south for a day. This hotel offered a real actively low cost option within easy reach of all amenities. The room was well appointed and exceptionally clean on arrival. Check-in and check-out were both smooth and efficient with helpful, friendly staff on hand on both occasions. The free breakfast was a nice continental affair with a few hot options - very tasty! The hotel was within a short drive of the main roads so very accessible and easily within walking distance of Monterey town centre and the local shopping mall / cinema. We made use of the pool area on the afternoon of both days of our stay - it was nice and quiet event though it was next to but well screened from the road. All in all, a very comfortable stay in a low cost but comfortable and clean room.

Staff were helpful and professional. Really knew the area and offered suggestions. Hotel was well situated for where we wanted to go. Easy walking distance for some things. Breakfast had a variety of items so could eat different things each day.

We had a hard time deciding on a hotel in this area as there are many similar motel type inns and they were somewhat expensive. The Park Crest Inn seemed to fit our bill the best and it did not disappoint. Staff was very, very courteous and the property was immaculately clean. You could observe staff constantly cleaning. Property appeared to be perhaps an older motel but it has been kept up very well and modernized. Our room was very spacious and had two king beds, a fridge, excellent air conditioning and a fairly large vanity/sink area separate from the bathroom. As is often the case, the breakfast area was very busy in the mornings and the lobby/breakfast room was pretty small although they kept the breakfast items well stocked and maintained to keep up with the guests. Good selection of breakfast food. The pool area is right by the road and not very private, although again, it appeared very clean and there were several guests that used it though we did not. There is no elevator to the upper floor, which although only a single staircase, this could be difficult on guests with mobility issues. Would definitely recommend staying here if in the area. Very easy access to the highway and an easy drive to the waterfront area as well. Very comfortable stay.

Conveniently located motel for a couple of days of sightseeing in the Monterey area. The breakfast in the mornings was perfect and offered many choices for one to choose from. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Rooms are a little older, but very clean.

The host was a great suprise how curtious and knowlagable. Offerd us express check out and provided needed direction to places of intrest we where scheduled to see. Also staff was very friendly, The Free Breakfast was the best of all my stays. The rooms were very neat and clean.

Excellent Hotel. Room was large and relaxing. A/C was quiet and accurate. very peaceful location. we were on vacation and enjoyed every minute at this hotel. Great breakfast as well. the location was central to all that is available on the Monterey Peninsula. Minutes to Carmel, Pacific Grove, Fisherman's Wharf. we'll stay again at the Park Crest Inn. 10 minutes from POINT LOBOS WOW!!!!!!

You can't call a hotel non smoking if you have the smoking ash trays right outside the rooms. All the smoke drifted into the room even when we had the windows closed. It wasn't just our room. These large ash trays were scattered thru out the hotel

We checked in for one night. Easy check in, very accomodating front desk lady, free great variety of breakfast. About 2 miles walk to the wharf. Restaurants about a mile away. The rooms are kinda old with "old building smell" but tolerable. I've seen some flying bugs inside though. :-( The room is spacious with fridge and microwave. You can park your car just outside the room. If you are on a tight budget, then this hotel is good for you.

We came here to escape the extreme heat from the bay area, pool and breakfast are plus, location wise is a bit far to walk to the Dennis park, but it's close to the del monte shopping center. No elevator is a minus especially for family with toddler and seniors.

Stayed two nights. Staff was nice with helpful guidance for tourists - room clean, pool nice enough, breakfast was good (bacon was best I've had at a continental breakfast), WIFI worked, location close enough to downtown attractions, etc...... Rare we offer 5 stars, but we'd definitely stay here again.

Stayed at the BW in Monterey CA. This was a very important trip to us, we had a total of 7, including my kids and parents! We ended up staying 2 nights at the BW at the end of our trip. After my experience here I will make BW a priority when I book again. I travel extensively for work (approx 3-4 nights a week at a hotel every week), exceptional value, service experience and great facilities. I highly recommend if you are going to be in the Monterey or Carmel area.

The staff are warm and relaxed and we felt welcome here. This is a good location to walk to the pier area, but easy to find from the highway. The breakfast room is very small but it works as everyone is polite & relaxed. Very clean but homely, it feels like a family run hotel- not a faceless chain. The pool is smaller than it appears in the pictures but was good for a dip at the end of a day sightseeing. Definitely recommend this hotel that leaves you with a feelgood vibe.

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel. As long as the hotel continues with this management, we will stay at this hotel in the future. The hotel staff are professional and courteous. The rooms are comfortable. The breakfast was good. The breakfast included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, cereal, bagels, danish, yogurt, and waffles. My mother, my spouse, and my kids really enjoy staying here.

We stayed here over the weekend in early August. We looked online for a while and we couldn't choose a hotel. We chose this one based on previous reviews and were not disappointed. The staff were all very friendly, the property was clean & well taken care of, safe area, and we did not have any problems with our stay. The breakfast in the morning is great--items included fruit, yogurt, waffles, bacon, sausage, and scrambled eggs (fresh, not a mix). The pool was heated and open until 10PM. The rooms were large. We had a room with 2 queen beds and there was plenty of room for three adults. We drove to Cannery Row from here and it was a short 5 minute drive. Overall a great experience and we will definitely stay at this property when we return to the area.

Nice clean rooms. Near the fishermans wharf but not quite close enough to say walking distance. I didn't use the heated pool but saw other guests enjoying it. I would recommend this place to friends and family. My only real problem was the air conditioner didn't work very good or at all as far as I could tell. Also it kept making a loud hum every 5 min as the compressor kept trying to come on. (Not conducive to falling asleep) finally had to turn it off and open the window and fell asleep in no time.

This hotel is located close to beach, shopping, and the staff are great. It offers a full breakfast which most hotels in the area do not. The food is good, staff even better. It is quiet at night with no issues. Has a pool and spa and guest towels for the pool. Will even sell you the towels and other things if you would like.

We chose this hotel for the value and location. The check-in and checkout processes were smooth and easy. The staff was exceptionally courteous and very helpful when we asked about local restaurants and Points of interest in the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

We enjoyed our time here - just stayed to swim, sleep, shower, and go on to our next destination. If you plan to spend a lot of time in your room, this may not be the place. But if you want an affordable, clean place to sleep between excursions and fun, this is a good one!

We travel to Monterey twice a year in winter and summer. We only stay at this location. Great staff, nice room and located near historical district, food and other shopping areas. Our grandkids love the pool!

The view was very nice. The hotel was nice also. Cost was a bit pricey. The room was very clean and smells good. The breakfast venue was a bit small thinking that a lot of people will choose this hotel because it is nicer than others. They should expand the breakfast area.

We wanted a place close to everything in Monterey, at a good price, clean, updated, great service & free breakfast - BW Park Crest was the perfect choice! Plus, there's a jacuzzi! Though we knew the place was full every night, it was very quiet. Highly recommend. You're a short walk to most places or to catch the trolley. Enjoy your stay!

This Inn was very clean and well taken care of. Well situated, within walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf. Easy access to the freeway. The neighborhood was pretty quiet given the amount of people that visit the area. The personnel working there were the most attentive I have encountered. Each seemed to really enjoy there job which is odd in this day and time.

Stayed overnight after visiting the aquarium. The frond desk personnel was very friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice to have 2 queen beds in separate rooms with kids. the included breakfast was well stocked and had a lot of variety. We had a nice stay, although short. Would definitely stay again.

I like the location of the hotel as it is away from the crowded places and yet close to everything. Great breakfast, friendly staff and good for family vacation. It is safe to stay here and a quiet place. Beds were comfortable and clean. Everything in the room is in a good working condition and price is reasonable.

Nice people who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We asked for and were granted a late check-out that allowed us to take in the Monterey Aquarium in the morning before we departed. Good breakfast.

Great hotel with even better customer service, they really go above and beyond to ensure you have the best night stay. Free breakfast was unlike any other, hot food with every dressing you can think of, kids had waffles with peanut butter, whip cream and strawberry syrup and chopped fruits on the side, they loved it. I had eggs bacon and sausage. Saved us money on breakfast. I had the best time here, kids loved the heated pool, I felt it, it was actually heated to a comfortable level even adults could enjoy. Definitely do it again.

the room had a really bad oder smell like pee. The charge me twice when check my bank transaction. when I called their reply was that we charge twice then we refund you back. I was happy with their business transaction.

The website did not provide any information as to how poorly this property is maintained. The charge was extremely inappropriate for the value of the room / property. The location is on a Main Street with the pool located next to the street.

My husband and I were here July 4th weekend and each and every time the Manager, Esmeralda has given us superb customer service. If there's a discount available, she will give it to you. The complimentary Breakfast is excellent. They improved it from the last time we were here and now have scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon along with waffles, pastries, cereal and much more. We have been very happy with our stay each time we've come here. Thanks Esmeralda. Your a big part as to why we come back. Service with a smile! (-:

Overall, the hotel was above my expectation for the price paid. The service was excellent, and the room feels clean. The location was also very close to downtown and the aquarium. However, my complaints are: 1) The satellite tv had an intermittent reception on a cloudy day. As a result, I couldn't watch TV. 2) I could hear the noise from the street, but it's not too bad. 3) The bed was on the soft side. It's a personal preference. 4) The breakfast room was small.

We enjoyed our stay here. It was easy to find, although parking was scarce and tight. The room was clean and comfortable. The desk clerk helped us find a great restaurant downtown. Breakfast (included in the price) was fresh and plentiful. We took advantage of the outdoor breakfast area and it was wonderful. They had a nice heated pool and spa.

We stayed here for a family reunion on Father's Day weekend. I do not recommend staying here when it's full. The breakfast dining room is way too small. The eggs were green ewww. The waffles were good. The room was nice, bathroom was nice. The internet in our room was spotty and frequently dropped the signal. For an overnight stay I guess it was ok. If I can get something better I definitely will.

Great staff who are very friendly and willing to go out of their way to help you. Good breakfast and a heated pool the kids enjoyed on the cool evenings. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were clean and well kept.

The staff here really cares about their job. A real breakfast (not continental junk) - they use REAL eggs, thick bacon and fresh fruit. Clean rooms, pool, and hot tub. It's not luxury but it's good value.

First of all; location is very convenient; just off the Highway 1, and midway to downtown Monterey, along with many other chain motels; consider it a strip, but in a quiet setting; park to other side of street, and residential on backside. Second; yes, the facilities are old, which can mean several things here, good and/or bad (see further below)., but certainly one thing; small rooms. Third; furnishings are new, modern and quite comforatble; good small fridge with freezing compratment, lazy chair with footrest/stool, big screen tv, high bed, choice of 4 pillows, big bathroom mirror w/ granite counter and splash, tiled bathroom/shower with mounted soap and shampoo dispensers, coffe maker and even a dryer for hair (often you have to ask at the front desk). Personally, we ended up in a room in the 1-story part all the way at the end (of the one-way, drive-thru property), with parking in front of room, and no back-to-back, which means that the bathrooms have slider windows that actually allow for a view of fence, green and (smell of fresh) air. But, beware of the (double) connecting doors between rooms at the end, allowing for an 'en-suite' but in actual fact mostly used as neighboring one-bedrooms, which means that you're at the mercy of your neighbor. In our case, the neigboring room also happened to be the 'charging' facility for electric vehicles; not so common for the road traveller due to limited reach, but we had one neighbor that ended up in the room for that reason; the cord just hangs out of the window. We should have asked for a different room right away but for some reason (tired of travel, wanting to take a shower, just emptied the car ?), we didn't. Two nights were quiet, but the third night the neighbor started the tv at 5am. So, check your room before settling down. Last but not least; breakfast; all cereals, yoghurts, waffles, scrambled eggs w/ bacon and saucages. Some fruit, only banana's, bread but no spread other than marmelade, so that after two breakfasts we skipped it all together and went straight for a major coffee brand shop; just not much variation, and not geared towards the international (i.e. European) travellers.

The hotel has nice big an clean rooms, their employes gives you good service, breakfast is the samme as in many us hotels, it takes 10 min walking to city centrum. The hotel has a pool, if you need to take a break..

This place has the most amazing service! They upgraded us when we arrived and even gave us a discount, which was something I hadn't experienced before! They have great free breakfast every morning, with lovely fresh fruit, and everything else you can think of! I lost my phone and they helped me find it again with access to their phone and computer and I am just so grateful for their amazing hospitality and service! I am so glad we chose to stay here! Would recommend to everyone, because it's a nice place but also because the staff are just incredible! Can't express my gratitude enough!!

Paid $106 per night for room. It was very clean and check-in staff was professional and helpful. Room was very clean and had fridge and microwave. Breakfast was good and ready on time. Good location near Del Monte Shopping Center and great access to Highway 1 to golf courses.

Hotel is very well equipped with all the amenities you could need and close proximity to many eateries and most in walking distance. A very short drive to the marina/wharf area and the hotel staff is very courteous... Recommend this hotel...

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past 2 years. Esmeralda and her staff are extremely friendly and helpful and work hard to accommodate special requests! I really appreciate that. The rooms have been clean and comfortable each and every time.

Even though me and my family only stayed one night there, the lady at the desk was very friendly and nice and answered all of our questions and showed us all of her favourite and what she hears is the major hot spots in town.

This is a very nice hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable, and the breakfast was very nice. When we got there, the young lady at the counter recommended several places to eat dinner. We had a very nice Mexican dinner!

Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay. The bed was very comfortable and the decorations were nice. The hot tub was great and even the pool was warm. The continental breakfast was delicious. However, there was mildew on the ceiling in the bathroom and we found socks that didn't belong to us when we lifted the bed linens off the end of the bed, a little disgusting. When I told management, all they said was that they would notify housekeepng.

My wife and I with 2 boys stayed one night here. On the large soft bed, we had a pleasant sleep. And the textiles including bedding sheet, and towel are very clean and neatly. There is a backup blanket in the closet. It will be great if there is a backup quilt.

1 reason for our trip was to see the San Carlos Cathedral and it was walking distance from the hotel. That was perfect for us. One thing I liked about our room on the end of upstairs was 2 windows. Nice view. Small breakfast room, but great breakfast. Nice patio. Bed was little to firm it seemed to me.

Easy access to Monterey Bay Aquarium, great restaurants, and other activities. Heated pool in April and hot tub were very nice additions. Amber at the desk provided excellent dinner recommendations: a fancy placee on the wharf and one great pizza restaurant. I would go back in a minute !

Very clean and more than I expected for the price. Great breakfast! We stayed in the two room suite which was perfect as our 15 month old typically goes to bed before us. We were able to put him to bed and still stay up and watch TV and get ready for bed without disturbing him. TV had every channel including movie channels.

Was a very nice room. Clean. Nice warm lighting and decorated very tastefully. We had an ADA room with very accessible parking. This is situated close to everything. I did notice some cal trans workers staying there. Probably working on the washed out roads. This place was very quiet which made for a great nights sleep. The pool and jacuzzi were up and ready for use. The grounds are not large at all which made it nice and easy to go get breakfast in the morning , which is included with your stay . It was a very relaxing stay

Great value for this area. Definitely not a tourist hotel, this is where many people in the area for contracting jobs and such book their stay. Hard to find much negative about the property. Very tiny and usually crowded breakfast room. There is no elevator, you will need to do the stairs for anything but a ground floor room.

Very resonably priced for the area, free upgrade was a plus. Forgot to ask for downstairs whenbooking because I booked on line. Be sure to call nect time, can't book 1st floor online. Our stay was like visiting my sister. Relaxing, family atmosphere. Staff had good knowledge of the areas points of interest.

My family has stayed here several times, and I would not even consider another place in Monterey! Best Western is desirable, but this one is the BEST. It is because of Esmeralda, the manager, and her staff. I have truly had the best service here of any hotel/motel I have ever stayed at. I spent a night with my friends here at Park Crest Inn during our stay in Monterey. The hotel rooms were definitely bigger than expected and full of all needed supplies (hair drier, towels, mini bar etc). We also liked the fact that even though we were ahead of schedule and our rooms weren't ready yet they allowed us to use the restrooms of another room. Definitely recommended.

The hotel was professional in appearance. The hotel lobby was neat and clean. The room was large and comfortable. The breakfast appeared neat and clean. The food was good. Parking was a little cramped but adequate. The staff was friendly and professional.

The beds were not comfortable. They were noisy (you could hear the springs squeaking when you moved) the pillows were lumpy and flat. The rest of the room was okay the free Wi-Fi was a bonus and having a coffee pot that only brewed 2 cups was a let down. Go out for coffee I guess.

Motel was a little out of town, but easy access to Cannery Row. Didn't use pool, but looked inviting. Room fine. Clean with good bed & good 3/4 bath/shower. Usual Best western amenities. Motel on two floors & parking easy. We were right outside the door. Breakfast was good and we took it outside on the patio.

it's basically a motor lodge style and we were given the room at the furthest end which was quiet from the street noise. It was a handicap room so there was a lot more space in the room. Unfortunately, the room right next to us had some loud guests and we could hear them laughing, talking, etc. maybe it's just the paper-thin walls but i swear it sounded like they were in the room with us. We had 2 toddlers with us and they kept getting woken up by the people next door. I took pleasure at the fact that since they kept my kids up, they woke crabby. My 2 1/2 year old decided to have a meltdown at 7am. I'm sure that woke them up. Karma's a bit*h.

I booked the room based on the pool/hot tub. When we checked in and went to the pool they were painting the hot tub. So... the front desk called and found us a nearby hotel with a working pool and hot tub and refunded all our money cheerfully. The rooms were clean and roomy, the pool was great. I would totally stay at this place again. Maintenance happens.

we loved our stay and will be back again, very very clean and beautiful property, close to everything in Monterey we sure love that city and will be back with our family. we never got a chance to use the pool but it was enjoyed be other guests next time I'll bring my trunks

This BW is well-located on hotel row (Munras) in Monterey and so is convenient to downtown Monterey (walkable) and Cannery Row or Carmel---both require driving. The room was a little dated and I was surprised to find that the table and two chairs had to be dragged from their confined space on the wall to be useable. It's a typical mid range motel, although a little less expensive than similar nearby. Parking access to the lower section is very tight, both coming and going...do not take a large vehicle down there.

Really enjoyed my stay here, room clean and very friendly helpful staff, nice breakfast too, within an easy walk of the town with loads of local restaurants and shops, highly recommended, we were on a road trip north on the coast road and this was really easy to get too off Highway 1

A great stay! Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly, very helpful manager who made sure we had everything we needed in our room to accommodate my husband's oxygen concentrator. Our room was clean and good size and there was a good variety of tasty breakfast items.

Stayed here for a quick weekend trip to Monterey. Great place to stay with kids. The rooms were large and clean. Would stay here again for sure. The only thing negative was the breakfast room was kinda of crowded but there was also an outside area to sit.

You will arrive to newly redecorated rooms. Take a walk or jog on the jogging path directly across street. Walk to dinner on the pier. Cozy feeling to this property. Felt safe and welcome. On property parking can be challenging in the evenings. Great patio for breakfast.

The hotel was well situated for exploring Monterey and surrounding environs. The staff provided excellent and friendly service upon check-in and the room was clean and had everything we needed. The only hitches were a noisy refrigerator that ran all night and heater that blasted heat seemingly at will despite our best efforts to shut it off. In all fairness we did not report these issues to the staff as we were only there a short time.

Stayed one night room had a stale smell in the room,not clean stained carpet.A long way from Fishermans Wharf you would need to drive.Pool area very small and again needed cleaning.Look like a work mans place to stay not tourist.Plenty of other places for the same price.

Exceptionally motivated and accommodating personnel makes the BW Park Crest shine. The room was very comfortable, clean and had all the necessary amenities. The continental breakfast was above and beyond.

Spent 3 days at the hotel for the Monterey Jazz Festival, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay, rooms were upgraded and cleaned, had a great stay, breakfast was good and really good options to choose from and a Denny's in walking distance.

Updated motor lodge, clean, comfortable, good value. The carpet was bit worn and could use replacing. The size of the rooms is small, but it is a 1950s motor lodge so that is to be expected. The bathroom, furniture, etc. are all updated with marble, granite, wood pattern tile, in a pleasing contemporary style. Big LG TV and lots of cable channels including HBO. In

Check in was easy as was checking out. Room was clean, as was the bathroom. Shower was great, bed was comfortable and the AC was quiet which is unique for any hotel/motel these days, apparently it was upgraded recently. Breakfast was a typical continental type breakfast. Good enough to start the day. We're not pool people but the pool looked inviting and clean. Overall if you're looking for a basic, “budget” type motel you might want to consider the Best Western Park Crest Inn. As a footnote, and not relative to my BW review, if you're driving from the San Francisco airport be prepared to be very, very patient. Due to our American Airline flight from DFW arriving almost two hours late “due to weather” we hit the road at the beginning of rush hour. The traffic was a nightmare. We're from the Boston area so we're familiar with traffic. But…this was the world series of traffic. Try to avoid rush hour which according to the material I read is from 4:00 - 7:00PM. My take is it probably starts earlier and ends later.

We were very happy with our experience here. We were planning to stay 2 nights but ended up staying over one more. The heated pool was an added bonus.The room was very quiet. It was upstairs towards the back with a sliver of an ocean view.

Two comfy king beds, a pull out bed, clean clean CLEAN! Friendly staff. The shower water is awesome. You don't get left with that dry and rough skin, and instead you get silky smooth skin. They may have some sort of water softening system based on the feeling.... currently here now. Will update tomorrow about the beakfast.

Pleasant hotel ideal position for getting to see all Monterey has to offer. Room and Bathroom well equiped for ones needs loads of towels changed daily and lovely crisp bed linen. Our room was large and overlooked the small pool area. The included breakfast was disappointing and was not for us so ended up in Denny's for breakfast. t

I am a Diamond Elite member for Best Western which means I stay at a number of them throughout the year. I look for ones with good amenities at a fair price for the locale. This one fits the bill now. Have stayed here numerous times over the years and with the remodeling has become an even better place to stay

Stayed here for one night, staff very friendly, room ideal for our stay, walking distance to strip, really nice breakfast, waffle maker, fruit, etc. Rooms were really clean and there was an outdoor pool too! Plenty of parking. Overall good experience!!

My sister and I had a lovely ground level room. We called in advance and they were able to change our upstairs room to ground floor when we found out there was not an elevator. There were nearby shops and restaurants and we had a lovely Chinese meal. We came back with wine and the front desk managed to find us wine glasses. In the morning there was a nice breakfast and the staff even gave me some tea bags to make tea in the room before breakfast started. The staff at this hotel were so helpful and accommodating that it is well worth the few extra minutes to get downtown.

We stayed at the Best Western Park Crest Inn in June 2016. It is a motel (outdoor entries). The hotels in the Monterey area are mostly all overpriced. I do not know why this area is so expensive. We opted for this motel due to decent reviews and being under $200 per night. This was $179.99 plus taxes that put the total over $200 for 1 night. We arrived around 10pm, after a long ride up the Pacific coast highway. We must have been the last people to arrive, as we got the last parking spot and last room at the far rear corner of the motel. The room ended up being 2 rooms with a bathroom in between them. It was not what we saw in the web site photos. The rooms were clean, but we discovered some problems. The bathroom had an open window with a screen, but the screen had a big rip in it, allowing insects to fly in. I closed the window. Not sure why it was opened when the air conditioning was running. Then we found out when we sat on the beds, but there was a hollow metal sound from the base. Here the bed frames were made of some hollow thin metal. So when you move on the bed,you here this metal popping sound. If it was not so late and crowded, this alone would have caused me to ask for another room. The last problem was that there were no visible electrical outlets to plug in and charge our phones,camera batteries, etc. So I pushed the bed away from the wall just enough to plug in an extension cord, that I had with me, into the lamp outlet. Otherwise we would have had some dead devices the next day on our trip to Yosemite. They could have at least had lamps with outlets in the base. The included breakfast was good, but nothing fantastic. When I checked out, I reported the problems to the lady at the front desk. She apologized, and said that they were still working on renovating the rooms. No discount was offered for our problems. What gets me about this is that we traveled around most of California during our trip, and stayed at many Best Western hotels/motels, and this tied as the most expensive, but was the worst. Our favorite one, in Eureka, cost less, and was a Best Western Plus. This was not a Plus. From this trip to California, and from staying at other Best Western establishments over the years, it is worth paying a little extra for a BW Plus hotel. They are nicer. The next time we are in the Monterey area, we will probably stay in another town that is not so expensive for what you get.

Was impressed with the quality of the two bed suite. Loved the tile shower and built in soap and shampoo dispensers. Loved having a second bedroom for privacy. Hotel feels at home in the area, nice international mix of people at breakfast.

The Best Western Park Crest Inn was a very pleasant surprise. I have never been to Monterey before and was not familiar with the area, So when I check into the Park Crest and realize how close it was to all I wanted to see & do while in Monterey i was pleasantly surprised.

Our room was very spacious and clean, clean, clean! Definitely work has been put in to updating this hotel/motel. Outdoor pool was great for the kids (teenagers). Breakfast was on point. Staff was very helpful in answering the questions I had about our plans for the day. I would certainly stay here again

This motel is quite ordinary but well kept and offering spacious rooms 2km from the Monterey wharf. The breakfast os served on disposable cutlery. For this, the rate was 250 usd a night per room (for 4 persons). Can't believe we paid so much for such an average place!

I stayed for one night and I would say it's a very good place to stay a couple of nights. The breakfast was good, friendly staff, the room was clean and comfortable. It's close to the sightseeings of Monterey. So If you're traveling by the Highway 1 I strongly recommend it for a night of rest!!!

Rooms were clean and well kept. Service was good, small problem with TV which was fixed immediately. Nice sitting area with pull out couch. Breakfast was good, plenty of options, but small area, got a bit congested. Location good, near downtown and also Delmonte shopping center.

Top floor looking out to the bay. Room is perfect, bed is comfy. Good night sleep. Breakfast was Best Western good. Eat enough for the day. Pool looked inviting, but not enough for us to get our swimmers out. Too many kids in there. Monterey is a lovely old town, you can cruise the cannery and then go out to cruise the coastal drive, 17 miles of it. Famous Pebbles Golf Course at the far end.

My teenage daughter and I stayed here for one night on a long road trip. The hotel and parking lot were clean and safe, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was good. For what it's worth (and it's worth a fair amount on a road trip) this hotel had pats of real butter for the breakfast waffles instead of the weird little pots of margarine-oil-spread some of the other BW's use. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Our stay at the Best Western Park Crest was very enjoyable. The large room was very comfortable and well appointed. And while the hotel is adjacent to the U.S. 101 freeway, it was completely soundproof. Being next to the freeway and only about half a mile from the I280 junction, it is very convenient to all of the San Jose area.

This appears to be an older property but is well maintained and the rooms are clean and comfortable. It's not exactly near the main tourist areas but it is quiet and only a short drive away. Complimentary breakfast has the typical items but everything we had was fresh and they keep it well stocked during the breakfast hours.

Asked for a room with no steps. There was a small step in front of room which made it difficult to take things in and out of room to the car. Pool was cold and yet it was advertised as heated. Staff was notified and they did come out to start heater but it wasn't going to heat up in time for us to use.

Monterey was our final destination on our UK roadtrip down the Pacific Coastal Highway from Washington State. We wanted a place to 'chill' for four nights and enjoy and absorb what Monterey had to offer. The Best Western Park Crest helped deliver that in bucket loads. Having not booked anywhere we called in at the Monterey Tourist Information Centre (always a wise thing to do). Their helpful staff rang around a number of the coastal hotels (in and around Cannery Row) and all were in the $280 plus price bracket for a single room with the hope of a Bay view. It was way above our budget. So we headed up to the Best Western in Munras Avenue, a short drive from the waterfront. The Best Western receptionist far exceeded all our expections of courtesty and helpfulness. The lady was a true STAR. Arriving early on a Friday afternoon we were informed that their rates changed daily over the weekend rising to $294 for the Saturday night. (This compared to the downtown hotels which wanted $400 for the same night.) However, as we were staying the four nights it worked out only to $191 pn. We had a deal. She offered that we checked out the room first and we were in the room by 2pm. The Park Crest, which is actually opposite a park with walking trails, offered a spacious, very clean room and shower and was well appointed. The first floor room faced the Bay area and we had an excellent view of the Ocean, and at NO extra charge! After our rather long road trip that morning we were also invited to take some refreshment from the breakfast room, and the lady kindly opened the outside dining area for us, whilst we enjoyed the juice and pastries. When it came to customer service, this lady knew her onions. We wanted local information about the best places to eat and information about the Monterey Aquarium. She delivered. Her recommendation of The Fish House, in Del Monte Avenue, was well founded. She rang and made reservations for us, something that is essential as this is one very good and popular restaurant. She also sold us our Aquarium tickets at a discounted price plus you get two days entry for the price of one. There was a reasonable selection in the continental breakfast room and a choice of inside or outside seating. The pool was heated and the Inn had provided comfortable loungers to gather a few rays. Despite being full to capacity on the Friday and Saturday night there was no undue noise. Free parking was included. The Inn's location places it only a 20 minute stroll from the main waterfront area (Fisherman's Wharf), and 10 minutes walk from the FREE troley bus terminal that takes you right through Downtown and to the Aquarium (which is highly recommended). This a longer review than I would normally do, but this location warrents the credit it richly deserves. It terms of politness, hospitality, service delivery and value for money it ticks all the right boxes. Would we return here; certainly. Is it somewhere we would recommend? Definately. Well done Best Western, you helped make our trip to Monterey a treaured memory.

Nice, clean and quiet hotel in a great location. Restaurants and stores located nearby. The room was very comfortable, clean and well maintained. The pool is small but we still had lots of fun swimming in it with the kids.

Stayed here on our California Road Trip. The accommodation was fine for the one night we had planned to stay in Monterey. The Manageress was excellent; always smiling and willing to have a laugh and joke. The rooms were spacious, clean and well presented. If you want a hotel experience go to the Best Western down the road, if your after a quality one or two night road trip accommodation, then you can't go far wrong. Monterey was disappointing for me, however Carmel By the Sea was excellent and only a 10 minute car ride away.

Good value for the price and excellent location to the main attractions in Monterey and Carmel. Easy access to HWY 1. The staff were very courteous and polite and helpful in answering questions and providing directions..

I would have liked to have stayed where I wanted. I stated this in other sections on this report. I have been with Best western for years and if I feel that I am not pleased I will let you know. Having owned my own business I know that customer input is vital.

good location to stay. centrally located in Monterey. Shopping Mall close by. downtown Monterey close by. We had went to the Aquarium. The drive was quick. Which helped when you wanted to go back to your room to refresh yourself. I mentioned the Mall close by. Very nice, food places, a store to by personal needs. Carmel close by. Less then 5 minute drive. The room size was good. the setup in the room with the beds, restroom, dressing area was easy access. Good family motel and good for a getaway for business, personal and family.

My husband and I are on a trip that takes us down Hwy1. We decided to stay in Monterey for 4 nights. This hotel was one of the only hotels that had a hot tub. With all the driving and walking we have done for sightseeing we loved the hot tub at the end of the day. The beds were comfortable and the rooms are what to expect for a Best Western. When we make this trip again we will definitely be staying here again. The staff was very nice and check in was easy.

The check in process was smooth, very quick. They were in the middle of putting in new furniture and beds in the rooms. We got one that hadn't been up-dated, but, would not have known. Very nice bed and pillows, the linens were awesome. Very nice bathroom also!

This hotel's success has to start and end with it's staff. I travel extensively for business and most reasonably priced hotels have less than adequate service. Not only was the room clean, quiet and comfortable it was very fairly priced. Having said that, the staff was top notch. I have been in Monterey 20 or 30 times, but will stay at BW from now on.

We spent two nights in the Best Western Park Crest and found it to be very clean and a good value. The day manager was outstanding in every way--informative, cheerful and welcoming. She is also an articulate and intelligent young woman. The rooms were all getting new furniture while we there but our room was to be changed out after we left. Very good breakfast with waffles, baked goods, cereal, yogurt, etc. Wi-fi was good and the rooms had nice size refrigerators and microwaves. Recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Kids said we need to come back. Nice quite little place, good location we had a nice view from our suite. Just a little dated in décor inside and out but don't let that keep you away. It was a very nice stay.

If cleanliness is important to you and a good value, then I highly recommend this hotel. I found the staff to also be very helpful and accommodating. For being in the Monterey area, the price was very reasonable and they do not sacrafice comfort and cleanliness in order to provide that reasonable price. The continental breakfast is a nice addition and loved the outside patio to enjoy weather permitting. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. It was quiet and clean. We also used the internet which worked fine and the breakfast was filling. I have stayed here and have enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. I will likely stay here again the next time I'm in the area.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel. Manager Esmeralda Frausto was very personable, friendly and takes great pride in her hotel. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. As Esmeralda told me " the staff clean the rooms like they are their own places." Excellent breakfast as well. Would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I enjoyed this hotel which was so perfectly maintained - everything was perfect - was recently refurbished - everything seemed brand new. The office was friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good, and location was convenient. Highly recommend this gem!

One of the best hotels I stayed in on my west coast Cali trip. Paid $100.00. Yup. That's it. Queen room with ensuite. Breakfast Included. Nice clean pool. Room: Clean clean clean. No bathtub but that didn't matter to me. No substitute for quality and this is a great selection. Front desk super friendly and professional to everyone. Loved this place and will return. Recommended for families and couples.

Even though this was an older Best Western it was the cleanest place that I ever stayed at. The place was quiet and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was clean and had a great selection of food.

A clean well maintained hotel, with present helpful staff at a good price. Located between the freeway and the dinning area on the waterfront. I was traveling on business, the room had a table / work area but my bane in older motels is finding a power outlet for my laptop; this hotel does a good job of maintenance, but still need to address this.

I was looking for a one night stay at a moderate priced hotel in Monterey. Since I have stayed in Best Westerns before I went to the Best Western Website and found this hotel near to some of the areas my wife and I wanted to visit. Unfortunately, the wind was blowing quite hard and it was cold so we did not venture out much except to have a nice dinner. Our hotel stay was very good for the price. The employees were very friendly and the breakfast good for a light breakfast. I would stay again. I don't recall ever having a bad stay at a Best Western.

I have stayed numerous times at this Best Western! The staff has always been friendly and always helpful when needed. That being said, I was very disappointed with the lack of consideration of breakfast guests waiting for a table. There was no room for sitting inside and the outside tables were wet. The kerosene heaters weren't turned on either. They seem to be lacking sufficient personnel to prepare for sitting arrangements for the overflow of breakfast patrons. I also wish that they could place signs up regarding consideration for others who may waiting for a table to eat at. The rooms are nicely remodeled except for our room which had the coffee maker and refrigerator in the bathroom! I'm planning on staying there again, however, I hope their breakfast routine will have improved!

We just stayed at this motel due to it's close location to the Big Sur Marathon finish line. This is my first time stay at this motel. The outside is the typical motel structure. They've done some inside remodeling. The bathroom was nice and remodeled. The size of the room was fine. I thought the bed was too soft but ok for 1 night. My baby was crawling on the floor so we were able to see some imperfections. The breakfast was the basic kind but good service. They had waffle, hot toasts, yogurt, cereal, juice and coffee. The staff were very nice and accommodating.

We had a great stay at this motel, as we always do! We love this motel, it's not fancy, but it is nice, and clean has good amenities and the staff is great! Also, its in a nice location! This is the only Motel we stay at in Monterey since finding it in 2006.

Located close to the harbour area so easy to walk downtown and around the area. Motel is getting dated ... but still okay for a short stay. As with most motel/hotel they go with the multiple small pillows on the king bed which we find very poor to sleep on ..

Convenient location for Jazz Festival and downtown Monterey. We have stayed here many times, but this time were less satisfied because of uncomfortable bed and noisy bathroom fan. The place needs some updating.

The hotel was clean friendly and had a good simple breakfast with a variety of foods and a waffle maker. The room was clean and quiet and close to downtown and had easy access to Hwy 1. The fron desk staff was polite and helpful.

Park Crest Inn was very clean, quiet, and close to the Wharf. Esmeralda at the front desk was wonderful, she had great tips on places to visit and was very attentive to our needs. Her customer service skills are top-notch.

My overall experience was good. Everything was as I would expect it to be based on the website. It was nice to have a room that had a small room attached, so that my children were close by but had their own space. Everything was nice and clean.

This motel was a bit dated and in need of modernizing. the breakfast room was being remodeled during our stay (off-hours). The facility was clean. The staff was very helpful. although on a busy street, there was little street noise. The week day rates were very affordable. It was a good value for the location.

We have always stayed in Best Western motels because we can count on clean rooms and helpful staff. The free breakfast is an added bonus. This time we were a little disappointed with the mattresses, but I'm sure they will take care of them. This motel is close to everything. The beach is down the hill, there is a park across the street, and another lovely park with a horse shoe shaped lake just a few blocks down. It is a quieter motel than some in this area. We were on the backside next to a retirement complex so it was very quiet.

This is an older property that is well maintained and up graded. The room was clean, large uncluttered with conveniences such as small fridge and microwave. It would be a good room for people traveling on vacation, The property grounds are also clean and well looked after. The breakfast room has an adjacent outside patio, this is a relaxing way to start a weather suitable day. The price was good for the quality of the property.

Our room had a queen bed, and another room with two twin beds for our kids. They absolutely LOVED having their own room and their own space at the end of the day. The room was very clean and well maintained. It was too cold to swim but the pool looked well cared for as well. The breakfast was what you would expect from a Best Western, tasty. The outdoor seating during breakfast was appreciated. There was a bit of a draft in our room as we could see light coming in from the door, that was about our only complaint. The location was also good for the activities we had planned. I like that they offered a 2 day for the price of 1 day aquarium package, which we would have done had we stayed another night. Every employee we saw was very friendly and helpful. We will absolutely return when in Monterey next.

My mother is a month from hip surgery and took an overnight after she was cleared for travel. I called the hotel and they made sure we would be in an accessible room the room was big and very easily maneuvered with a walker. Don't spend more money else were this is a clean well kept motel that I will stay at again.

Great location. Very close to Monterey Pier. Very close to park. Very clean room. Bed was just okay. Room seems to have been remodeled recently. Older hotel on outside. Parking is narrow but enough parking spaces even with no vacancy in hotel. Okay breakfast. No hot foods in continental breakfast unless you count the do-it-yourself waffle.

We were pleased staying at the Best Western Inn hotel as we were last minute in planning our get away Valentines Day weekend trip. They also had the Pebble Beach golf tournament the same weekend so it was a little crazy trying to find a place to stay. They were very accommodating and pleasant to deal with. It's not that far away from the Cannery and Carmel too. We enjoyed our stay here for 2 nights and there's also a nearby shopping mall. (-:.

Central location and good landscaping. Very quiet considering the location to a main street. Not much choice in breakfast items. But Monterey Café in Alvarado was wonderful. Highly recommend Whaling Steak House. Pricey, but service is wonderful and friendly staff. Bar menu is great. Recommend the prime rib egg rolls.

Its one of the most cost-effective hotels on the west coast, now will always think first of best western hotels to stay if I am traveling to the west coast. I used booking.com to find best western or any decent ones in the areas I was visiting and mostly found hotels with free internet and free breakfast were mostly best western.

There is not so much to say about this motel, it is just one of many others on this road. Rooms are partly renovated and have the usual amenties, microwave, big flatscreen with many options and a fridge. Pillows are bad but they always are in US motels. Pool was in february freezing cold, but the tub was warm and nice. Breakfast was as expected, hotel was fully booked, but staff did a good job. A surprise was, that we had a partly seaview, and I mean partly, but is rare to have that in a motel. Ask for a room on second floor in the same building as reception. Wholefood is in del monte center, 800 meters away. Motelprices in Monterey are in the high end, nothing to do about that, our prise was 113$ including tax. One more thing, rooms have no aircondition, not a problem in february, but might be uncomfortable in the summertime.

Except for the breakfast I recommend this B&B. Well located, clean, good facilities (minibar, microwave, flat TV, iron etc.), fair price, decent free wifi, and warm Jacuzzi I´d recommend this place. There is some room from breakfast improvement and variety, but there are several options in the town.

This hotel is located on Munras a short walk (15 minutes) from fisherman's wharf. It is an old hotel but has been renovated recently by the look of it. The rooms have new carpet, TVs, vanity and tile in the bathrooms. Our room had a fridge and microwave too. They have DirecTV with a good selection of channels. The breakfast is basic but included and adequate to keep one going for the morning. There is plenty of parking and WiFi is included too. There is a pool, but we didn't try it. Overall, great value with very friendly helpful staff. We will stay here again if we come back to this area.

Room was very clean, quiet, comfortable. I got a great rate. You can walk to Fishermans Wharf and The Cannery, Monterey Bay Aquarium if you wear comfortable shoes. Parking can be especially near the Aquarium in the summer and fall. The hotel is a really easy drive to Point Lobos, Carmel, 17 mile drive. Shopping mall is just up the street. I didn't find a grocery store close by but there probably was one. I drove to Safeway near the hospital which was a little bit of a drive in the traffic. Breakfast was usual cereal, bagels, toast and waffles. Coffee was good.

We got a great room here for a very good price. Parking and Wifi included. We got the setup where there's a separate "living" room with a sofa bed and a main bedroom with 2 queen beds. The hotel was in a residential area and super quiet/relaxing. It was too cold to use the pool while we were there but it did seem a bit small for a complex that large. Free continental breakfast, which was really nice. It's a close drive to 17 Mile Drive and Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, all the touristy sites. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed it very much. Clean rooms. Comfy beds. OK staff (not that friendly nor helpful). Overall, I would come back.

We enjoyed our stay here and it was pretty close to fisherman's wharf which was the only place we visited. The hotel seemed to be recently renovated and looked very nice. One of the bathroom lights were out but didn't effect our use so we didn't call it in. The breakfast was not the greatest quality but they did have a waffle maker and pretty good danishes. The bagels were stale and the apple juice was watered down. We would stay here again.

We only had 1 night in November 2015 as part of a touring trip and this was a pre-booked hotel for us. The staff were very freindly and helpful but in terms of hotel quality I would assess this as pretty average. The room was clean, I was surprised at the small size of the bed considering this is America (it was the smallest of the 10 hotels we stayed in - a King size bed, 6 foot wide). The walls in the hotel seemed to be amzingly thin (and I would imagine in peak season it is extremely noisy) and being picky, the noise created by the bathroom extractor fan was a real pain - when trying not to wake my partner. The breakfast was complimentary and buffet style. The staff again were helpful and friendly but the food selection was again very average. We would look for somewhere better if we return to Monterey again.

The best Western Park Crest is a great value in an otherwise expensive area. It's clean, well-maintained and very close to all of the activities and restaurants in the area. If you would want to get a workout while visiting, try the Monterey Sports Center, only a few minutes down the hill on Franklin Street.

it was the third time when we chose Best Western. and it was a big mistake. for us best western was like a signature of a quality, we stayed at Best Western in LA and in San Diego and Best Western there is not the same as in Monterey. 1) The window in bathroom. It was broken. to close it i had to put it off the previous opened position and to put it by hands to the closed position, not just slide. 2) we ordered a crib even at the stage of booking. when we arrived, they charged us immediately for crib, bur they brought it only after my call to the front desk. Baby was totally awake when i finally got my crib. 3) with the crib a man bought crumpled sheet with a big spot on it. It really felt like this sheet was not washed after their previous guests. And a spot!!! Guys, if i order a crib, it seems like i am going to put a baby in it! And you giving me a sheet with a spot. what was the nature of this spot?? 4) worst breakfest. this hotel spent 20$ for buying yougurt, plates and something else at costco for all guests. the one normal thing was waffles. there was no eggs. very poor coffee - too much water in it. everything was poor and extremely cheap. 5) at all other best western hotels a found a seal of a cleaness on the toilets - like a strip of a paper, but not at this hotel. and such things as shampoo and body washer - it was the cheapest one - the Dial. Very-very-very dissapointed in Best Western at all.

Buddy and I stayed here for one night. Recently updated. Refrigerator and microwave in room. Heater is a little old school. Bathroom has granite counter tops and stand alone shower. If you are looking for a good place at a good price, I would recommend this place.

we came down for a family outing in monterey for the beach and acquarium and this was great for our family due to the location and room lay out. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends and family. the only negative is the rooms are a little on the cold side so have to run the heater all the time.

Hotel is not so far from Monterey Down Town. Just a 15 Min. walk. It's a good starting point for the “Path of History” part of Monterey Breakfast is complementary and nothing special. Room is ok but very cold if you stay in chilly period of the year.

The staff was very helpful as we had to jockey with arrival times and even days (storm potential could delay termite tenting which was our reason for leaving home and going to Monterey). Property was quiet, well-maintained and equipped, and the continental breakfast was convenient for early starts to the morning. Also gave good restaurant advice.

I chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the Wharf and downtown. I like to resort to walking and cycling. This worked out well for both. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again

Great hotel location, great staff, great race experience overall. We stayed here while running the Big Sur Half Marathon on Monterey Bay. The staff made sure we had access to the breakfast provided an hour earlier so we could eat before the race and offered us a late checkout so we could rest a bit after running and shower before we got in our car to drive home, a very important detail for runners. Perfect location to the race start and the race expo, and very reasonably priced for this area and with a race event in town. Will definitely stay here next year.

The staff was friendly and helpful. It is close to attractions in the area. The room was clean. The spa/pool area was nice and breakfast options were multiple. The price is a bargain. The only downfall is that parking can sometimes be difficult.

I noticed most of the summer, the prices for motels in the Monterey and Carmel areas have been consistently high and it was no exception the weekend we went. Our room was $250, which was ludicrous but typical of all the motels around. PROPERTY: On motel row, within walking distance to the Del Monte Center and restaurants. It's also across a park that I never visited. The property looks old. We had no problem finding parking in the lot but you may need to park on the street if you're staying when its totally booked. ROOM: We got a room that had no floor above us. It was quiet and the size was good enough. The carpet needs to be updated along with other details, but overall, our room felt clean. The bed wasn't comfortable for me, but I can't pinpoint why. The bathroom had shampoo and soap dispensers in the shower. If you need conditioner, you need to bring it. There's no a/c, but a fan is included. We didn't need it as it was actually very cool when we came. SERVICE: Fine. Receptionist was courteous. BREAKFAST: We didn't try it but it looked like typical motel fare. VERDICT: Might consider staying here again.

Convenient place near the Wharf area. Clean room and breakfast was a plus. Price was a bit high. A shuttle to the Wharf area would have been great. This was a good choice for a one night stay in Monterey.

We visited the BW Park Crest on October 14, 2015. When we arrived in our room the temperature was over 80 degrees. There was a box fan provided on the table to cool the room. However, the outside temperature was too warm for the box fan to be effective. We spent a miserable night in hot room without AC.

Though a relatively small BW and modestly priced, the service, cleanliness, and very professional staff was outstanding. My wife and I recommend the Park Crest BW in Monterey, California. We will be back and stay there when we visit, again.

We enjoyed almost everything about the hotel. The only thing I would change would be the bed pillows. We're used to sleeping on king-size pillows and the hotel pillows are rather small. Everything else was great.

Great location, near all shopping needs, walk to Old Monterey historical area, great dining and relaxation spots. Starbucks and the Wharf are close by. Staff is fantastic, excellent complimentary breakfast and rooms are very comfortable.

Price point for the value average for high traffic destination. Cleanliness and service a big plus. Ease of getting checking in exceptional. About 4 miles from the Aquarium. Would recommend to a friend or family wanting to stay in the area.

This Best Western was clean and comfortable, beds always seem to be an issue, this one was very comfortable. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. It's a little pricey, but otherwise enjoyable. I would consider it again, maybe with planning I could get a better rate.

The hotel was clean and of average pricing for the area. Surprised to find no air conditioning in the room. It is close to the tourist type attractions, but not really within walking distance..over a mile.

This hotel was very welcoming and the staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Esmeralda, the manager was extremely helpful and courteous. Our room had two bedrooms and worked well for us regarding privacy as we had my sister stay with us on this trip. We would stay here again

Heading south on PCH and wanted to do the aquariam so we spent the night here. It was clean and staff was very nice. It served our needs, but not the quailty of the Best Western Plus we left in Oakland.

I checked in at midnight for a business trip. The front desk staff that checked me in, Esmeralda, was pleasant and informative. My room was simple but clean and was just what I needed. It also didn't hurt that I didn't have to pay for wifi. I also appreciated how quiet it was. After a long day of driving, it was nice to curl up in bed to the quiet hum of the refrigerator.
