Description

Sure Hotel by Best Western Ole Tobias is a small and cozy family owned hotel located in the heart of Mo i Rana city, which offers an intimate and homey atmosphere. Mo i Rana is located by the fjord Ranfjorden, and you can find us a short 5-minute walk from the railway station, 20 minutes from the airport by car, or few minutes' drive from the main street E6 if you arrive by car. The hotel is named after Ole Tobias Olsen - the 'father' of the railway in northern Norway - and is decorated with details from the city's railway history. You may enjoy your breakfast sitting in genuine furnishings from old railroad cars. Our 30 rooms are named after old railway stations. If you go exploring in the hotel, you will discover many details from the old days of railway history. In addition to breakfast we serve waffles in the afternoon. We also offer a hot supper from Monday to Thursday (in the period September till May). The conference room is suitable for up to 25 persons. We have an appointment with a nearby gym if you fancy a workout during your stay, or you could just relax in our sauna. There are great opportunities for shopping and restaurant visits in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. A short walk from the hotel you will find the local museum and the recently opened Knowledge Center, the old town Moholmen with its charming wooden houses and the 10- meter high sculpture 'Havmannen' - located in the fjord close to land. The hotel is an excellent starting point for experiencing the scenic areas that surround the city. Among other things you can experience Svartisen (Northern Norway's largest glacier), Saltfjellet mountain with the Arctic Circle, Gronligrotta (Norway's largest tourist cave) and Plura (the largest water-filled cave system in Northern Europe). There are great opportunities for hiking, kayaking, fishing and skiing. The city also offers cultural activities such as museum, theater, concerts and various festivals during the year.

"Charming"
Tor Johannes J, 13 Août 2019

Lovely small hotel with a charming local historic theme. OK rooms and not too expencive. Nice service and breakfast – but the coffee needs improvement. Tastes like instant coffee, and that was a disappointment.

"Very central "

We sleep one night in Mo I Rana, this place is not fancy but practical and have pretty much what you need for an ok price. The decoration and the theme take you to a trip In the past, the walls and corridors are full of history, pictures, old instruments used in that time, etc, etc. Mo I Rana is well know for the industrial impulse of the iron and the aluminum. The construction of the train is the center theme of the hotel. The hotel have WiFi and breakfast, gluten free options, not sugar free marmalade or lactose free yogurts, which is served in the basement which looks like the train, very curious. The staff is kind and smiley. You have some diners around, supermarket and som pubs. I enjoy the stay.

"Cannot recommend"

Room 405. Really poor air quality in the room (wall-to-wall carpet). Opening window helps but then there was a terrible noise outside. Shower in a bath. Nice looking Scandic next door. I would pick it, no comfort at all.

"Evening waffle bliss"
Magnus H. S, 11 Juillet 2018

The hotel is cosy and functional, nothing fancy. The thing that really stands out and earns it the "Excellent" from me, is the self-service waffle making station in the dining hall. With a selection of jams and Norwegian brown cheese to go with the waffles, it made a super-nice end of our evening. It was supposed to be open from 16 to 21:00, but we arrived there 20:55 and were told to just relax and enjoy. "I will be around until midnight anyway", the girl on the evening shift told us. That's service :-)

"WORST hotel stay ever!"
astarthi, 23 Octobre 2017

WORST HOTEL STAY EVER! There was no heating in the room when I arrived and the wires from the radiator heater were not secured. I asked the receptionist for another room, but she didn't want to, even though the hotel was almost empty. She turned the heater on and it took 6 (six) hours for the room to get warm. The breakfast was untouchable. There was almost nothing to choose from! I had to go to the hotel next door and pay 25 euros for breakfast. No service, no apology, no nothing! STAY AWAY!
