I had the pleasure of interacting with Bridgette Joy during my stay at SureStay, and she truly went above and beyond to make my experience memorable. Her warm demeanor, attention to detail, and genuine kindness set her apart. She was always eager to assist with a smile and made me feel right at home. It's rare to encounter someone who takes such pride in ensuring guests are well cared for. Thank you, Bridgette, for your outstanding service!
Met a friend in California for a girls weekend. This hotel location was absolutely perfect and in walking distance of so many great places. The front desk girl Bridgette was so nice and gave us so many great suggestions on places and also held our bags for us so we could enjoy our last day without having to carry out bags around with us. She was absolutely amazing! 10/10
Fluffy pillows/comfortable bedding, small fridge worked surprisingly well, very friendly staff. Kept the ice machine fully stocked and operational. I asked the cleaning service for extra towels, and they were very accommodating and friendly.
Great, polite service, everything on time. Front desk staff able to give me some good advice on seeing the city for my first time. Clean and comfy room. Good location, near prime spots, and the breakfast is much appreciated. Would stay again!
The staff is exceptional and went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience and got checked in as soon as possible. Bridget at the front desk is beyond wonderful! I was very tired from flying and she helped make sure I got some breakfast while I waited for a room to become available. The hotel held my bags while I spent the morning out and I felt very safe there. She was able to get me into a room as fast as possible and I was so appreciative of her kindness.
a very convenient, clean and safe hotel. I have stayed here the past two years for a mini vacation. It is in walking distance of LACMA, the Grove, Farmer's Market and other tourist sights. the room was efficient but clean and suited my purpose. the price point is very affordable. the staff were friendly and helpful...All in all a good experience
Me and my fiancé stayed here one night for a concert in town. We didn't know what to expected but were so impressed with our stay! The staff were so accommodating and nice. They went out of their way to ensure we had a nice stay. Our room was extremely clean and bright. We felt so safe here. The location was also great as it was walkable to a lot of things and a short drive to others. We appreciated the free parking and breakfast. We had read reviews about the parking garage. It's is smaller but we didn't have any problems. They do also have some outdoor parking spots behind the hotel that we also used. The hotel is older so things are smaller such as the hotel room and garage, but our room at the Sunset Tower Hotel a few years ago was even smaller! And same issue with parking. Things were smaller when these hotels were built so goes along with the time period. We really appreciated the reasonable rate and no extra resort fees or parking charges. I highly recommend this hotel for short stays.
Excellent hotel in a peaceful neighbourhood, away from all the chaos but near to great restaurants and convenience stores. Underground free parking available and right on the main road. Great and warm staff at the front desk. Special mention of Christie, Gina and Joanne. Will visit again.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. Also they were very responsive when I needed something. The rooms were very clean though small. There was a Lovely outdoor patio area and a parking garage, which was great for us. We had a very nice stay in LA and will be back.
Great and Safe for our 3night stay. Bridgette Joy is one of the warmest, cool receptionist here.Clean rooms, decent on the go -Free Breakfast! Parking in the basement might be crowded early as 8pm.. so you might plan ahead to go back to hotel earlier to have a parking slot, good fit…. for SUV and Sedan cars,as they have a narrow one way for car entrance and exit.
Me and my friend arrived early after a long flight from the PH. We got there 1pm. Bridjette Joy greeted us warmly and got us a room so we can rest at no extra cost! We checked out after 1 night but will be returning in 3 days. They agreed to keep our luggage until our return. Many thanks! You guys made our LA trip better!
Broken blinds, noisy street and unfriendly staff. The property is old and has been updated with paint and poor quality bed frames. The plugs did not hold our chargers and the room had an odor that's common in older hotels or motels. The best part of the stay was the air conditioning. Parking lot is a joy to get in and out of as well, very narrow.
The worst surestay I have visit. Rooms were to small and breakfast, was poor choice!!! I will never visit Beverly Hill surestay again!!! Not worth $5.00. This place need to give these rooms to the homeless. Please move this hotel from surestay app.
I was assured that I would receive 10,000 points for staying three nights as part of their summer special promotion. Trusting this, I went ahead and booked the three nights. However, after completing my stay, I was shocked to learn that I wasn't actually eligible for the points. This whole experience feels like a bait-and-switch tactic, and I am incredibly disappointed by their deceptive marketing practices. It's frustrating to feel taken advantage of when I was simply following the terms they advertised.
Although the rooms are small and cozy, the location is perfect for access to the grove shopping mall. Awesome breakfast too including fresh waffles, breakfast burritos, bagels, coffee tea and hot chocolate, and juice. Also lovely staff member Bridgette Joy was so helpful and kind when we were checking in and wanted to leave our bags for a few hours after checkout :))) Recommend!!
Really great staff - we spent 4 nights there and the location was great. It was great to have free in/out parking, lite breakfast options (go early for the hard boiled eggs), and our room was solid. It's a small BW, and it did the job! Breakfast was coffee, a Tang-like juice, waffle maker, breakfast burritos to microwave, toaster for bagels and English muffins, fresh fruit and hard boiled eggs. It's a tiny breakfast room with 3 small tables, but plenty of courtyard seating table options outside. We really didn't want to have to pay extra for parking - I just wanted to have coffee and something lite in the am, so this really worked. CBS TV studios across the street and about a mile to West Hollywood. Easy, peasy.
Upon arrival there was a hiccup with my booking through another company... Bridgette & Joanna in reception went above and beyond to help me get everything solved and into my room without any stress... Bridgette was so friendly she gave us knowledge about the area directions to where we needed to go her assistance was absolutely amazing she is a value to the property... The property was clean, safe and perfect location for our needs the free breakfast a bonus...
I did not feel as if I was staying at a Best Western Hotel, the hotel is very old and dated, rooms are very small, the parking garage is almost impossible to get in and even worse leaving their parking garage, does not provide welcome bags for Best Western Rewards Members, has a very unsafe feeling while staying at the hotel.
Had two consecutive day appointments at Cedars-Sinai and stayed only one night. Best sleep my husband and I had in weeks! Desk and cleaning staff were very friendly and extremely helpful... especially Gina D.S. The hotel is fortunate to have Gina representing them. Further, the food delivery service they partner with provided tasty food and efficient service. If we have another like situation, we would definitely stay again.
It feels like a small, big city boutique hotel, and is clean and has great FREE parking! I will def stay here more often when I am in the Hollywood or LA area! Not overly priced for the nice and clean, but small, rooms!
The property is not near Best Western standards (love their properties). The free parking, they should pay you to navigate. Run down old property with a vile staff. The finale straw was when we entered the room and there wasn't a safe for our valuables. Immediately informed them that was crucial and would not be staying. Finding another hotel,,, they kept fees for first night… was not pleasant!
Bridgette was extremely friendly and even let us leave our car in the car park when we arrived hours before check in as well as being attentive to our needs. The hotel location is perfect only 5 minutes walk from the Grove we would stay here again it was very clean
I've been a Best Western Loyalty member for many years but I was quite disappointed with this hotel. Although the bathroom had been updated the room was small and dated and didn't function well for us during a 4 night stay. There was no proper facility for hanging clothes, just the kind of coat rack found behind a front or back door. We had to hang our coats from the shower rail so we could hang our clothes over the pegs on the rack. There was a desk but a pouffe rather than a chair and the vanity was alongside the bed instead of the bathroom. There was nowhere at the vanity to even hang a hand towel so used the door knob. The room was so narrow a bedside table had been removed so the door could open. The hairdryer was good, and the iron and ironing table. I liked the plantation type shutters on the window. Breakfast was advertised as a full continental but was actually a grab and go, not worth eating. We ate out for breakfast at the Original Farmers Market which was about a 7 min walk. The location was walking distance to Farmers Market, The Grove, LaBrea Tar Pits, the Academy Award Museum, Art Museum, and Trader Joe's. It's in the Fairfax Historic District on the main road. The Metro bus stop was right at the corner. Buses run every 15 mins with easy access to many tourist sites so the location was very good. We got a member multi night stay rate of $142 per night so quite reasonable for an LA hotel I guess but we'd rather pay more for a better experience and more comfortable stay.
Room was spacious, clean and quiet. We felt safe. Beds were comfortable. Nice “store” in the lobby. Everything in the room seemed clean. Older building. Parking and property are monitored with cameras. Felt very safe.
Stayed 3 nights :- no breakfast, even though paid for (Different excuses each day) :-room adjacent to leaking vending machine which saturated floor :-used to house homeless so nights were disrupted by fighting, screaming Location was good!! That's it!!
I came in for business work. All staff are really nice. The manager always accommodates me to her best. Breakfast is very good. The cleanliness is always excellent. There is always coffee and extra cups ready for me when I check in. Love it
The staff was welcoming especially Bridgelle ang Joanna! Hotel is excellent value for money with no security issues as mentioned in few comments. Also if you park free behind the hotel, there is always ample space...keep up the good work
I would like to express my gratitude to Bridgette from the Front Desk, who was very helpful during my reservation. She took care of us and resolved the issues with our reservation. The hotel is in a beautiful location and very close to everything. The free parking and breakfast are significant advantages compared to other hotels in the area.
Very nice cozy hotel. Rooms are very clean. Front desk was great. Dislike the breakfast part only. Manager on top with all my request truly appreciate it. Will be back very soon. Thank you all. Please have different menú.
I stayed here with my wife and in-laws for an unexpected trip to LA. I was very satisfied with the staff, the convenient location next to the Grove and Farmer's Market, and how quiet the rooms were despite being along a major street. The room was a little cramped but fit all of us and our stuff sufficiently, and was a great home base while we traveled around the area!
The mattress are rock hard . The rooms are old, outdated with filthy carpet, our new white socks were black . My rooms had insects like flys, gnats, moths, spiders and we became our own exterminators. The staff was unhelpful and offered no compensation after being told we couldn't move rooms. The AC ran loud and smelled like urine on the carpet. Breakfast was not at all breakfast , but Dollar store danishes and kids juice pouches and Yoohoo's. Noisy from honking cars and people hoping to get signed with NASCAR and graffiti on our window . Half the outlets didn't work and the ones that did , our chargers would fall right back out. The bathroom needs updating with crusty old nasty caulking peeling off the wall and tub . The high rate didn't match the level of service or the quality of the rooms! Sad that because this hotel is in Beverly Hills, they can charge high prices and people are duped into thinking they're getting a great hotel, in fact it's the complete opposite!
Rooms loud ac, tv's don't work, carpet is filthy, parking is horrible, Breakfast is not a breakfast at all, boxed juice and packaged cookies and muffins and they run out and don't restock. Paint peeling on walls and rooms smells
The location was very convenient and offered easy access to everywhere in LA (assuming you have a car). Within walking distance from La Brea, LACMA, Motion pict museum and The Grove. The free parking in the basement was a good option and felt more safe than leaving the car outside. On at least two occasions we saw “working girls” entering the hotel via the side door- which was left always open and made us feel insecure. This was not a nice sight, especially because we were travelling with young kids. Room cleaning had to be requested ahead. The complimentary breakfast option had no variety of food and only gas station-type snacks- but the decent cup of freshly brewed coffee was a nice touch to our mornings.
They don't mention how incredible the neighborhood. literally a 2 minute walk to Erewon grocery store & central to everything on the west side. We would for sure return as long as the *prices stay reasonable but I might even say this is the best sure stay I've ever been to & I can't believe the reviews/ratings are so low. We had an 11/10 experience here. & Thank you
We (couple) stayed 3 nights. The location is great, the check in was easy, and the air conditioning was good. It's cheap accommodation for LA, but not necessarily good value. The rooms are tiny and we could barely open our 2 suitcases. The bathrooms are very basic and dated. Overall, the place is fine for it's price, and plenty to do in surrounding area.
We got two rooms for a business trip for a friend and myself. One room was more like a smokers den then an actual room. Tried to switch rooms but was denied because the hotel was full. Water turned brown upon first turning it on. The dining area was being foreclosed due to health hazards. Both rooms looked like they had never been vacuumed and the walls were covered in dents and scraps. One of the hotel staff kept yelling down the hallway during the later hours of the night. I would highly recommend staying somewhere else, we spent way to much money on a place which truly felt depressing.
This hotel was super easy to check in and stay at. easy location to get to and walking distance near a lot of things. Staff was super friendly and the lady even let me leave the car after check out while we explored. (I believe her name was bridget, thanks girl!)
The hotel's location is right across the street from CBS studios and in walking distance to The Grove. The hotel's staff is friendly and accommodating. In walking distance to good food. The room is very small. There is no closet or dresser to put your clothes in. We had to live out of our luggage. The bathroom also needs to be updated. Overall, the stay was OK.
We live in Bakersfield CA. and had an 8:00 am doctor's appointment at Cedar Sinai hospital. This hotel is close, just a 10-minute drive. The room was small but clean and comfortable unfortunately our room was right next to Beverly Blvd., and we heard road noise all night. There are other rooms that probably do not experience this noise. It was also a good thing we came the night before as the Grapevine was closed because of snow and there was a fatal accident on the 101 and it was closed until after 8:00 am
Rooms very clean but dated. Hot and cold water switched. Streaming channels didn't work. Operating TV difficult, 2 remotes no directions. Plugs for charging didn't work. Parking garage horrific to get out of. Obviously it wasn't only me, because both side walls going out had many scrape mark from other vehicles.
To start, I fully understand this is a 2 start property. The location of this property is fantastic, close to the Grove. My 2 bedroom suite was generously sized. The staff are amazing and friendly, quick to help. But the property and rooms are poorly finished, eg bathroom doors don't easily shut. Fridge was so noisy we turned it off. The carpet was filthy but the bedding was clean. Breakfast very basic but tides you over until you can get to a proper meal. Wouldn't stay again for the large price I paid.
Grab bars and non slip on bottom of tub needs to be done. My elderly husband almost slipped due to lack of non slip bars in bottom of bathtub. Room was clean. No fridge I main room. Good location. Good breakfast. Very challenging to get out of parking garage.
Grimey and dingy building. Lobby is locked 24h, you have to use the bulletproof glass window in the hallway (that should tell you all you need to know). Blood and coffee on the walls. Hairs in the sheets and on the towels. Double beds, not queens as advertised and no one cared when I asked about it. VERY limited breakfast selection, made worse by the bagels being the only item to be restocked day to day, everything else ran out after a day or two and was never replaced. Outlets in the room don't work. The door doesn't seal so you hear all the late-night yelling in the hallway from the front desk. Asked the GM Jessica Gomez to call me, but she couldn't bother, only sending the auto-reply to upset guests without bothering to change a single word of the template, a very lazy effort. Shower had very little water pressure and the drain was cracked and peeling. Bathroom floor was cracked and uneven making for a tripping hazard. Hot and cold handles were reversed with no label so you burn yourself when trying for cold water. Iron leaked water everywhere. Ironing board had no padding so didn't work right. TV didn't work. Garage is too small with only ten spots and too narrow for large vehicles. Front desk wouldn't change my credit card at check-out because "that would take too long", and judging from how long it took to print my receipt, I have no doubt.
If you're looking for luxury, this isn't the place for you. But, the location is perfect. Rooms are clean, free breakfast is good and the staff is friendly and personable. Walkability is fantastic! Near great restaurants, grocery stores and The Grove/Farmers Market
While the location is good, the hotel is a poorly assembled building. Shower did not work. Underground parking is a bear to get out of, as evidenced by the multitude of scrapes from cars that failed to navigate the exit.
More breakfast options would be good, but quality of items available was good. Location very convenient, underground parking garage, nice interior courtyard with tables and chairs. Staff was accomodating.
Nice little hotel right on Beverly Blvd. This is an older property, so don't expect the Ritz, but it was clean, and the staff was friendly. There is a nice little garage under the property with limited spaces to park if you get there early enough and space around back outside if you don't. We stayed for 4 nights and had no issues. They provide options for breakfast in the morning, bagels, English muffins, cold cereals, waffles, yogurts, etc. Would stay there again if I am in the area.
If I could give this hotel a zero star rating, I would. I think this was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. OLD. NOISY. Tiny rooms. I don't mind if the hotel is older, but this was run down. We heard every noise in the hallway and outside. Thank God, it was only a one night stay. If I had to stay another night, I think I would have left and gone to another hotel. YUCK.
Terrible room. No working toilet. Air blew directly on me. No closet. No drawers to store clothes. You have to live out of your suitcase. Breakfast was poor. Very limited selection. Toaster only partially working. Garage was underground and scary. Only one lane to go up and down. Parking spots were tight. Too much noise outside.
Check In And check out is easy. Parking garage is impossible to exit without having to destroy your bumper so we had to back out of it. Our room was so warm and smelled like cigarette, smoke and must. AC was showing 61 at the highest setting but it was so hot. Carpet was so disgusting. Both our beds where broken that when you lay on it the edge and center slanted and bent in so bad like as if a 400lb person has been laying on it for months. I talked politely to the old male staff that night about our concerns and my kids developing coughs staying in the room and he could care less to help. He just made the dumbest excuses and reasons for everything. He had mad attitude and looks like he hated his job. Also he was hiding in his dark office sleeping. Only staff that was very professional and most helpful and accommodating to everything was Bridgette. She approached my family during breakfast and asked about our stay and made sure we where taken care of with all our concerns. They definitely need to fire the other dude. Carlsbad By The Sea best western was the best experience Ive had staying with this franchise. Young lively staff. Very positive and bubbly. Very inviting and rooms where so huge, cool and amazing. Swimming pool and huge breakfast plus a gym. And was cheaper!! I would never go back to this place ever. You'd think cause it's in Beverly Hills and across CBS it would higher standards but this place is old and rotten. Came home with a fever and headache just sleeping in that Smoked room. Yuck!
After checking in, we chose to leave and go elsewhere. We didn't feel safe leaving our car parked out back. We had to check in through very thick, dirty plaxiglass, and the extra lock on the door of the room didn't work. It just felt unsafe all the way around. I was refunded only one of the two nights we booked. We lost money on this.
Upon arriving at this location you drive into the smallest underground parking structure. You look on the walls and can see where numerous cars have scratched and damaged their vehicles. Myself and guest went up through the elevator to the lobby and met the front desk agent where we spoke through a bullet proof window. The person upon check in was very nice and had good customer service. My card was originally declined, but they said sometimes that happens and it will eventually process. We got the room key and went back into the elevator to get to room 219. The room I ordered was a non-smoking room. However upon exiting the elevator, we were greeted by the smell of cigarette smoke and Marijuana. We decided to go into the room hoping it would be better and that it was maybe just a guest that had smelled, only to be greeted by an even harsher scent of cigarettes and Marijuana. My guest has bouts of pneumonia and immediately started feeling heavy in their chest, I also started to get a headache from being in the room. We stayed in the room for a total of about 30 minutes became we were looking for another hotel. We found one, went down to lobby and spoke with the front desk person. We explained that we were feeling sick from the overwhelming smell in our room. They offered to move us, but the whole hotel smelled of cigarettes and marijuana. The person explained that they were sorry about it and said that they would give me a refund but that it would have to be processed after it went through on my card. We said okay and left to check into a different hotel. I got confirmation on June 5, the next day that a credit was put back onto my credit card I used for the transaction. However, I didn't receive the credit back onto my account. I waited about two weeks before I contacted the location inquiring about my refund. They said that they issued the refund and it should have already gone through. It hadn't, so I decided to dispute it through my creditor. I filed the dispute case it was initially granted, then I got an email back saying that the merchant indicated that, "the goods were as described and received in good condition." However, they were not. I have the receipts where it says I ordered a non-smoking room. The hotel wreaked of both kinds of smoke. So now I've furthered contact with customer relations through Best Western as well as contacted the CEO help desk. As of 7/2/2022. I have been put through hoops over this hotel.
This hotel was a great location for walking, dining, shopping, museums and other attractions. The rooms are small but clean. Loved the breakfast and outdoor patio. Free parking. This is a practical hotel that fits my budget.
A great place to stay if you are looking for a clean quiet room that is very restful. The amenities made the stay efficient and easy. Very easy to transfer luggage and personal belongings to and from the room. A very comfortable and safe experience.
Great location, first rate staff, free parking. Large, comfortable rooms. Pleasant neighborhood for walks, lots of restaurants within five blocks, nearby farmers' market, intimate hotel experience and solid value for dollar.
I am giving this hotel a 5 because of its value. I paid about $160/night which was amongst the lowest in the area. It met all off my expectations given the price. The reason for my stay was to attend the American Idol taping at CBS. The line and entry for this is directly across the street from this hotel. I was also able to walk safely to the Grove and to the Museums which are about a 20 minute walk. Alternatively, there was a bus for $2 one block away that also takes you to the museum. Every staff member at the hotel was attentive, courteous and asked if everything was ok. My room was 110. For my two nights it was very quiet. The room was very clean. The queen bed was very clean and in excellent condition. The bathroom was also very clean. The towels were clean and nice. The blow dryer, coffee maker, fridge, and, microwave all worked well. I though the courtyard was in excellent condition. There was a working ice machine. Breakfast was minimal, but sufficient. Hot eggs, bacon, etc were available and the staff were attentive to keeping it replenished for all guests. It is a very small hotel and the noise can travel in the halls. Most guests were considerate and quiet. I did not notice any noise above my room, but my stay was on a Sunday/Monday. The windows were secure and covered. The air conditioner worked quite well. The room was small, but had room for a desk. I believe the hotel is making difficult maintenance choices to keep the rates low. So, in 110 you will find a bit of tattered carpet (though very clean), cosmetic damage on the desk, doors, walls. The bathroom door scrapes the floor. The shower is adequate but most of the water runs out the spicket. The security latch is almost falling off the wall, but there is also a security bolt, so I felt safe enough. One plug in the room did not work. The fan in the bathroom didn't operate. One thing I don't like about the room design is that the sink is on one side of the room and the bathroom is on the other. So, if you are expecting a room in perfect condition, then I think your expectations are a mismatch with the discount this hotel provides. Since all of the important things in the room were fine, and I didn't have to ask for help with anything, I gave it a high rating. I am thankful to have the opportunity to choose a budget hotel for my visit to Los Angeles.
I've stayed in a lot of hotels over the years and this was among the worst. My daughter and I checked in late and wanted to leave right away but it was late. After getting into our room we found problem after problem. This is a very old bld and renovation to room 219 was awful. Fridge had a very high frequency squeal which caused our ears to heart so I had to unplug the fridge to sleep. Room door and bathroom door Jan looks like they had both been kicked in before. Bed light swing around off the wall. Electrical plug on the lamp was dead. Alarm clock was plugged into that so we had no alarm clock. All the furniture in the room had paint chips on them so it was probably from the 1990s or older. It was first day of heavy rain outside and the window leave leaking water inside the room. The a/c plugs beside the bed and window was also dead so my daughter couldn't charge her cell phone. The elevator door had several layers of paint on it and and was all scratched up so you know their trying to hide the age but not doing a good job. Towel rack was falling off the wall. I would not let my daughter walk barefoot on the dirty floor. We picked the location because we wanted to watch James Corden TV show recordings across the street at the CBS studios. Couldn't sleep till 4am because the rain and traffic noise was so loud. We packed up fast and told the front desk that we're not staying the remaining 3 nights here. Awful experience. Don't stay here or at least in room 219. I took pictures of everything and video tapes the dead a/c plugs and loud noise from the fridge. $165/night wasted.
I've stayed at this location 8 or 9 times at this point and have always had an outstanding experience. The property is conveniently located within walking distance of The Grove, as well as just a short Uber ride from the Beverly Center and West Hollywood restaurants and nightlife. Completing the exceptional experience here is the amazingly friendly staff, particularly Dominic and Joanne. All are consistently friendly and helpful. Great hotel!
The staff are 5 star. The room needs an upgrading in the plumbing system due to easily clogged toilet & freezing or blood shearing water temperatures in the shower. The broken crack pipe found in my room wasn't cool.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay arriving in pouring rain from San Francisco. The room given to us got flooded with water and we were immediately moved to a suite in matter of few minutes. The customer service was great and complimentary breakfast next day was sumptuous
Wow! Judging from some previous reviews, we were not expecting much. Those reviewers were way off base. I called the property a couple of days before arrival, and they were able to upgrade our room, per my request. Check-in was a breeze. The room was clean and had every comfort we needed.
Great hotel was expecting something different but it was good. Rooms are clean and sanitized. Had a little issue with tv but Cristy at front desk was very pleasant and helpful. I will be coming back next week for another business trip.
A few updates and attention to detail, could make this a really great property to stay at in West Hollywood. Clean up and complete trimming, caulking in bathroom, clean up and repaint narrow hallways, fix bathtub faucet to completely close during showers to keep water waste at a minimum, this hotel could use some more insulation as well. Hallways are noisy. Beds need to be replaced in room 217- springs are sprung in both beds and so they are HARD.
Tiny, tiny rooms, no decent parking, just an old, rundown place. Just poor value and maybe not deserving of the name "Best" Western. Two remotes to use the television (with no instructions). Breakfast was very inadequate with no juice, very few items to select. The parking was a joke with an underground tiny area that is VERY difficult to maneuver.
Flies everywhere- outlets barely worked- lights flickered- carpet disgusting. Checked out 4 nights early. Staff apologized and said they had a flood in that room and that it was maybe never cleaned? Not my kind of stay.
More overpriced BS in LA, the area is great but the hotel is 1 star, the halls are echoey and each door that closes makes a slamming sound heard from eight rooms away, the carpets are absolutely filthy and disgusting in room 111 your feet actually stick to the floor and turn black. Because it's a budget hotel expect methheads and other semi functioning human sociopaths to disturb your sleep and feeling of safety. The bullet proof glass at reception is the first red flag. You CAN beat a Best Western...Book at a Quality Inn or Sheraton for similar fee's and be comfortable.
This was definitely an unforgettable stay and not in a good way. I hope corporate reads this and finds it in their best interest to issue a full refund and take into account my review and videos to ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else especially in a very popular area right across CBS . I have video footage of how the piping in the bathroom clearly doesn't work and is what is most likely causing the flooding in the other units to which I witnessed not to mention yellow discoloration in the water upon turning it on. If you want hot water prepare for the walls to shake and make loud noise. Outlets are for decoration and do not work. Also good luck with parking only about 10 spots and prepare to scratch your car trying to get into the garage however we could have overlooked the parking if it wasn't for the terrible experience of a room/stay for the $379.95 we definitely expected better. I really hope this gets to the correct person to rectify the situation because I honestly couldn't be more disappointed.
We arrived late to the hotel we were able to walk into the hotel/motel and take the elevator from the basement garage to the receptionist area where the nice ladies where behind a bullet proof glass. Where the front door of the hotel was propped open probably to air out the building. On our way to our room there was a heavy smell of Cigarette & Marijuana smoke. We got into our room one of the lights did not work and the room smelled mildew, moldy and musty like they have a water leak issue that did not get attended to quickly or correctly, the carpet felt nasty on my barefeet even though it look clean. Looks to be a poor remodel of the room, by that time my wife and I arrive at the hotel it was really late so we decided to try and stick it out. After getting ready for bed we had just fallen asleep and we where awaking by doors slamming and yelling "let me in Nig*** I am gonna kill you" We felt very unsafe life this person could be at our door next. After being trapped in our room for 20-30 minutes we escaped down the back stairs. We the hotel staff would not let us into the lobby area a safe area. They ask what was wrong and I told them you had to hear that and they shook their head in agreement. No Police where called they left their guess to fend for themselves!
This property in located in a curious wasteland. The other hotels in the immediate area are filthy and this hotel is at least clean. We need to be specifically located and this hotel serves our purpose.
What could be a very nice little hotel in a great location is spoiled by lack of attention, spoiled rooms and unsafe surroundings. Non-working electric outlets throughout room, bathroom door wouldn't close because it's falling off its hinges, hard-as-a-rock mattresses are practically un-sleepable, rooms were not cleaned well, outside parking lot is VERY dangerous and not lit well. Lot is covered with trash, broken glass, with drunk or high persons always in the area, sometimes approaching you asking for money. We were very disappointed and couldn't wait to leave this property.
Filthy carpets. Smoke/pot smell in rooms. Somewhat uncooperative front desk person (although her hands were probably tied as far as to how she could handle the situation). Toilet running all night (had to remove lid and adjust it to make it stop). No light switches near the bed. No lamps or lighting near bed, only overhead lighting. “Queen” bed was obviously only a full size. TV did not have internet or cable service. Location was nearest to where we wanted to be which is why we chose this hotel.
Staff was rude, room had an odor causing the need to have window open. No screen on window created an insect infested room. The parking was underground and not made for larger vehicles. Not in Bev Hills
Do not stay here it is not never hills this is not best western standard that I expect the parking was located below very tight and narrow entrance to find no parking available. Their extra parking was in back where there was none. It is so compacted there is nowhere to park. My son got stuck in the bathroom without being locked I had to bust the door open. The wood blind were tore up, there was a smell in the room, the carpet was not vacuumed very well, breakfast was a fruit cup, apple juice, and an old danish all smashed up and thrown in a bag. There was only two towels in the room for four people you had to go down to front for more and then they would look at you weird when you would ask for more. Very disappointed with this stay. Pick another place!!!
The staff was nice, the room, as advertised, was not fancy but clean. The room was VERY NOISY, thin walls. I heard tv's from rooms on either side of me as well as noise from above including the slamming of doors ALL hours of the night. If you value sleep, DO NOT STAY HERE or pack amazing earplugs.
The key question is why didn't I rate this dump with a single star. The answer: because the tiny room was clean and habitable. One wonders how come three stars are assigned to this most basic of accommodations. Old and tired, poorly managed and staffed, without a single redeeming quality to make you wish to stay there, The Sure Stay surely should not be part of your list of places to stay in Los Angeles.
I needed a clean, quiet and basic hotel in a good location with free parking. This hotel delivered. Staff was very helpful when my business trip had to be extended several days. Internet was sufficient to conduct business.
The hotel's location is right across CBS studios, close to Farmer's Market, The Grove, Erewhon market. All hotel's staff is friendly, very accomodating and compassionate. Thank you, Sylvia, Johana, Li. DEFINITELY See you next time.
An employee at the hotel was named Leo, who handed out the grab and go breakfast bags and checked us out after our stay was rude and incompetent. He was unable to accomplish the simple task of printing out our bill nor was he capable of sending a copy of my bill to my email. I had to call the hotel back after I left the hotel and spoke with. a person name Kristi. She on the other hand easily took care of sending me a copy of my bill to my email. The hotel's saving grace was Kristi was knowledgeable friendly and courteous, not like the incompetent person named Leo I had to deal with during my stay.
This hotel is small and not updated but in a convenient location. The bed is comfortable. Room has mini refrigerator and microwave. A gas station right next to it so you can get gas before you drive off. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. Leo and all people there gave great help. They act very fast to meet your needs. It has free parking which in L.A is a hug plus. Some people complained about damaged their car at the garage. You have to be very careful. The entrance is trick and hard for bigger car to get out. There are street parking and above ground parking. The breakfast was in a bag, very simple. No contact,6 feet, check in and check out through a small window. Has a nice Court yard you can sit outside for some sunshine.
My husband and I have been staying at SureStay/Best Western hotel when we have medical appointments at Cedars-Sinai. It is very close to the hospital, only 10 minutes away. The front desk personnel are very nice, especially Christy who is always nice and accommodating. On our last visit, my husband had to stay in the hospital longer than expected but Christy always found a room with a good rate for me. We are going back to Cedars in the near future and will look forward to staying at this hotel again. It is located at a very good location, not only close to the hospital but it is a walking distance to The Holocaust museum, the Grove, the Farmers market, a park, and is across from CBS. Lots of restaurants nearby. The room is clean.
You have the best front desk, best rooms, free parking, good internet, clean restrooms, nice interior design, nice beds and the best customer service. Thanks. I booked this hotel many times and i love it
The room was spacious and cozy. The room is very clean, smells a good scent of smell. It is quiet and my sleep was pleasant. The bed size of the room is very comfortable and the amenities I needed are very helpful throughout my stays. I am a travel customer for film industry and its very helpful that the wifi and parking are covered part of stay. I will definitely re-visit and recommend it to my friends and family.
Ive been staying at Sure Hotel Beverly Hills, West LA This location is wonderful, the fact it's a Best Western Hotel. It is worth staying at this location. Ive seen reviews that people wasn't sastified with their stay, because not everyone was happy with the late check out or the person they are across with. This hotel fits my budget and friendly neighborhood , some hotels are very expensive especially the location is near the central Beverly Hills and west LA .The staff of this hotel shows a wonderful effort of high standard customer service and cleanliness. For all the request we ask from the front desk, housekeepers, and the general manager they are very accommodating. Various of customers come in here and I notice some guest are very disrespectful smoking inside the hotel. Its not the hotel it's the customers who leave the room disrespectfully. Base on my experience here I think it's a pleasant and outstanding atmosphere. This hotel makes feel safe and easy to travel whenever im in the area. To live a comment I think that everyone should focus on the amazing comments that are listed below here. Than the customers down grade the hotel. Because I am a long term guest and I've seen how the improvement of this hotel from the past and todays present stay.
AVOID! CONS- -Not worth the price given the hotel/room quality (gross carpeting/sticky floors, sketchy neighborhood, homeless/vagrants all around) -You will NOT get a good night's sleep (loud streets surround, alley behind with non-stop barking dogs, sketchy people always hanging on the sidewalks, thin walls so you are subjected to your neighbors' noises). - You WILL scratch your car attempting to access their tiny garage unless you have a tiny/compact car. Forget any vehicle medium-sized or larger because of the turning radius to get in and out. NOT KIDDING! PROS- Close to Beverly Hills (but def NOT the Beverly Hills the name misleadingly implies).
From the online photos, location, price, & exterior I expected a bit more than what I received. Arriving midday having to wait in a hallway for someone to show up behind the front desk 25 mins later, who was quite nice & quick, but with a request for a single bed high floor, I got a first floor room with double beds & the exterior stairwell down to the parking garage right outside the room window that had a large metal gate that was getting opened & slammed shut by the “wind” I was told, even though there was barely a breeze. was told they will send someone to secure it.....which took about 24 hours apparently. The room was disappointing, very basic & felt cramped compared to other properties I've stayed. The most upsetting/disappointing part of the whole experienc was our departure. It was a quiet Sunday when it was time to checkout & I had asked what my later checkout options were(I'm a Best Western member as well) & was given the standard “we can offer you until noon” with no other options, so I took that. Now, yes, due to a suitcase deciding to not want to zip closed anymore & having to now repack an entire full suitcase into other bags, we ended up going past noon but starting at 11 with housekeeping knocking at the door, informed that we have a late checkout at noon. Promptly at noon knocks again and we tell her just 5 more mins, so she parks her cart in front of our door making it almost impossible to get by with our bags. I start moving things to the car as my travel partner is finishing the final small things & the manager or front desk staff I'm not sure who she was but she comes to tell me”l you were given noon checkout and it's past that & housekeeping is on limited time” as my arms are completely full with bags & two suite cases. I tell her we are getting everything out now. As I come back in is when the suitcase explodes & we as quickly as possible get that repacked & I take the last bit out to the car while my partner just checks to make sure nothing is left & as I come back in the staff member from the front again from down the hall “excuse me sir, it's 45 mins after your checkout time & housekeeping is now behind because she has more than your room to clean, she's only 1 person with all of these rooms to clean & now she is behind cleaning all the other rooms waiting for you” makes no since, why not go to the next room! And then as we are leaving she makes a point from down the hall “I'm charging you a late checkout fee”
The staff here is amazing. I'm always welcomed with a smile and the greatest of hospitality! The rooms are clean & Updated. Customer service goes above a beyond!! Management is AMAZING!! When I'm in the area I only stay here it's like a home away from home.
Great, clean, east, flexible stay! We had a flexible early checkin which was very great. Location near the Grove so there's plenty to do in the area. Nice comfortable private courtyard to lounge and relax at.0
Nice Staff. They were accommodating to my needs of needed a room in the first floor. Kids enjoyed having the microwave and fridge. They offer grab and go breakfast. Great deal for the price. Many to do near by.
I got a single room here for 6 days and it was great for me personally. They have a chill common area that has lots of tables and a cool atmosphere and they served little to go bags of breakfast to stay safe with covid. The staff was super friendly every time I had questions or anything. The location is key though. Right across from CBS studios and has tons of food and shopping around. Bear of all, had a pretty darn good price. Also, the WiFi is great. I work online and had no issue with connection throughout the stay. I'd definitely recommend it for a traveler.
Bridgette was a wonderful part of my stay. She was welcoming, answered all my questions about area dining, and was very professional. The parking garage is camera/video monitored and seamed very safe for my car full of belongings.
I have been staying 5 days a week for 3 weeks. Friendly staff on site 24/7 and the rooms have always been very clean. Great experience and will continue to book here in the future. Wifi coverage is great, they have breakfast upon request (pick up at desk), and I would highly recommend this establishment.
Great service, me and my family are overall satisfied and plan to book this hotel again, staff is friendly and helpful with everything. Rooms are comfortable and clean.great location and there are a lot of close by restaurants to visit.
My girlfriend and I booked a hotel for our mini vacation. The staff members Bridgette/Joanna and the following housekeeping are very helpful/respectful. I appreciate your kindness. I absolutely give this place a 5 star. Yet, is it a small hotel but they have taken care of us with good customers service at a timely manner. I like how there was nearby to shopping/food areas such as The Grove, Beverly Center, Erewhon, Whole Foods market, Starbucks, etc. It saves us lots of time travel at a short distance. I look forward for another day at this hotel coming up into this 2020 winter. Thank you for your time. Respectfully, Jacob A
My wife and I are Best Western members and we have enjoyed our stay at various locations around the country but this establishment is NOT up to par with the franchise, it is shameful. We have not been on many trips this year due to the pandemic so we were excited about the prospect of taking a trip but didn't anticipate this low quality product from Best Western. There were so many things we found problematic at this place. When we went to sit out on the patio there was a homeless man arguing on the phone, sitting on the floor, barefoot with no mask. The carpet had stains everywhere, the paint was peeling off the walls and the window shutters needed desperately to be dusted. We were moved rooms twice and the ceiling in both rooms appeared to have water damage, photo is attached. The outlets didn't work so we had trouble charging our phones. The tv in our first room wasn't working properly. Honestly this list just scratches the surface of issues that we noticed, we reserved for one night and were happy to check out as soon as possible. *Please note that my wife made the review below me giving a positive review out of good faith based on our previous experiences at Best Western. We needed to check in earlier to join a zoom meeting and was told that this accommodation could be made it was gave a review prior to our stay. If this is a common practice of their staff I would question the validity of this locations ratings. We will surely NOT STAY here ever again!
Bridgette was very helpful and I like my cozy room clean and quiet I received breakfast muffins and juice very convenient to studios she was kind enough to let me check in early there is a nice court yard outside
As always we received excellent service. We had to get on to the WiFi for a meeting just before our reservation, Bridgette was very accommodating to our needs. We would most definitely come back and patronize this establishment again!
Came over for my brother wedding the room was great very clean. Housekeeper were great. Front desk we're very helpful too. I definitely recommend this nice and comfortable property. Thank you SureStay Staff
I booked a 3 night stay but checked out after the first night. The carpet is severely stained throughout the hotel and in my hotel room. The air conditioner was extremely loud. There was a constant smell of Marijuana which could be smelled in the room. The other guests were very loud and the room next to me played loud music at 4am. There was a door open on the first floor that led directly to the street. Anyone could walk in and go directly to the rooms. I felt so unsafe. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I gave one star because the hotel clerk refunded my money.
The moment I walked in I was help as if I was vip and really accommodated me with great customer service. This is the place you come if want to feel welcomed. 10 stars out of 5! Trust me you won't regret it.
I reached out to Bridgette at the front desk after checking out a few local hotels in the area. During these times it's not always clear what you'll get during your travels but I was pleased with my experience. Bridgette was kind enough to allow me to check-in early and the room had all the features you'd need for work or play. Microwave, Iron, Mini-Fridge. Plus free parking right underneath the hotel. It was a tight squeeze but a lot better than worrying about getting ticketed or towed in Hollywood. No this is not a high-end hotel but it's a good value, close to everything you might want to explore in Hollywood and surrounded by some great spots to eat and explore. I'll be back next time I'm in LA.
I stay here often w a friend bc it's close by, the rooms are quaint but clean, and both covered & street parking are available. Also and quite notably, Cristy's customers service for checkins are awesome! She's swift but totally efficient and partly the reason why we come to stay here so often.
Our favorite front desk helper for check ins at the best western / sure stay on Beverly . Cristy the best!! She is super fast and efficient on the check in process . She usually has our favorite room saved for us . Thanks
My family and i are pleased with our stay and the excellent customer service from the staff at SureStay, especially Bridgette at the front desk. This was our second stay and she was sure to make sure we were comfortable and fully accommodated. You know when someone genuinely makes extra efforts to help and Bridgette definitely did that both of our stays.
I was checked in quick as possible with no problems, clean nice rooms , great area to get around, breakfast is great in the morning and the atmosphere is lovely Bridgette accommodated so well I would definitely stay again
Our favorite place to stay as cristy and Bridgette are always so accommodating and helpful with anything we need! The rooms are clean and modern, great tv channels and a great location ! Highly recommended
We had a great 2 days and 2 nights at this hotel. We stayed at the beverly inn before this, and this hotel is much cleaner friendlier and convenient. Bridgette did a great job taking care of us. We will definitely visit again soon.
I stay in a lot of hotels. 240 days out of the year I am in a hotel and usually also for long stretches at a time. One of the things that's most important to my comfort on the road is helpful and friendly staff. I stayed at this establishment for 5 days and the front desk was not only helpful and understanding but also attractive and quick with the banter. The room was more than adequate and super clean and the location was great for a short walk to a good place to eat or grab a drink. Price was excellent for the size of room I was given. I will be staying here again and would recommend it to anyone. Ask for the family suite.
Arrived in LA for pre-op testing and the front desk manager, Bridgette, was amazing! After driving 3 hours and testing for covid-19 in advance of surgery (negative test) the front desk manager worked with us to check in at 12 because we were so exhausted! Not only did she get us into our room, but she also gave us a staff parking spot because our truck was to big to fit in the parking garage! Note to self to being a hot wheel size car in the future! She showed me two different rooms to choose from to make sure my husband and son would be comfortable while they waited for my surgery. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Make sure you have everything you need before settling in as you will not have a parking spot if you venture out. That is just LA and fyi as it is on no way a reflection on the hotel. The desk manager, Bridgette, is truly the gem in this hotel. She is professional, honest, nice, and an extremely helpful asset to this company.
I received very good service! The GM "Johanna" and Front Desk "Bridgette" were fantastic, i would love to come back just for them. 5 Star Hospitality from those ladies. Clean rooms, but my highlight was those ladies.
Needed a room for exactly a week during this whole pandemic. Very quiet, lots to explore around the neighborhood. The ladies couldn't have been more hospitable : ))) Thank you again Rosa, Christy and Brigid!!!
I booked this when my scheduled conference was cancelled and I decided to come to LA anyway since I couldn't get an airline refund. Brigid was very nice through the booking and check-in process and also helped me get the best deal available - much less than advertised on the travel sites. The day I got there is the day that everything in LA started to shut down. The staff was very understanding and even tried to help me find places to eat and places that were not closed. Because of the shutdowns, we decided to cut our stay short and only stayed 3 nights instead of 5. The staff was very accomodating and refunded us the difference. The rooms are not fancy but they are very clean and had excellent Wifi. Note that there is a lot of renovation going on and the hallway noise from that was rather loud. The hallways and bottom level wnere the parking garage is are rather dingy but the room itself was fine. Bed was comfortable too. Because of the shutdowns and the terrible weather, we couldn't enjoy the neighborhood very much but it is an easy safe walk to numerous restaurants and the Grove.
There is nothing fancy in this humble abode but the room was cheap and clean. The mattress was lumpy. Two TV remotes were needed to work the TV; one had tape holding in the batteries. But the staff bent over backwards to be helpful. The free breakfast offered was of typical variety. The location was perfect, especially for someone using public transportation or who enjoys a walk in a lively, safe neighborhood.Great value for someone not too fussy or demanding.
Despite the fact that I made an error in booking, Bridget at the front desk and Rosalinda (the manager at this location), were understanding enough to help me through the process of righting my error. Rosa responded to my concern immediately and in a very sweet and professional demeanor. I will definitely visit this location next time I'm in town!!
Greeted immediately by Christy. Checkin was painless, no hassle. The team was very much in tune with each other making sure my room was ready. Gave us Loyal Member gift bag with snack & waters. Showed us the courtyard area where we can relax. Staff is very service oriented. Manager is super accommodating. Room has microwave, refrig, tv, shower stall was awesome. Great safe place. Bed is soft and comgortable. Very pleased!!
This place is clean, conveniently located, the staff was amazing, very helpful and accommodating. Rosa and Christy were awesome! I will come back and highly recommend this place. This hotel is very clean great if you need a good night rest or two.
If you are looking for a place to sleep that is reasonable, this is it. Nothing fancy, needs some updating but you can overlook that with how helpful the staff is (every one of them went out of their way to make sure our stay was good). I paid a little more for a "suite" so we could have room to move around. The suite is simply two rooms with a bed in each room. They had queen or king beds as an option. This hotel is directly across from CBS Studios so you can leave your car in the garage and walk over for the day without having to worry about if you put enough money in the meters that are on the street. Left our car parked in the garage and took public transportation out to Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood Walk of Fame, to look at the new LA Rams stadium and China Town all in the same day. Great way to get around LA! I was worried about getting in and out of the garage from the reviews but it was no problem for our Toyota Camry. I rated this hotel a 4 based on the price and location vs. what we would pay at other hotels. This includes a continental breakfast, free parking and NO resort fee.
My experience here was amazing! Thank you to Bridgette and Rosalinda for the amazing service for my stay. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. Great location, easy access to transit and restaurants
checked in on friday night late, bridgette was very helpful and assisted me with check in all steps of the way! any issues were resolved quickly and Rosalinda Gutierrez the manager also gave me a free room upgrade! 10/10 recommend
Within short walking distance to Farmer's Market, The Grove, and CBS Studios. Location cannot be beat. Sure Stay is undergoing renovations, but our room was clean and the staff was very friendly and ready to serve our needs.
Price was high for type of hotel. Friendly staff and clean room. Parking was a bit odd but free and they let us leave our car there while we went to cbs. It is within walking distance of cbs studio which was very handy for our purpose.
After an 11 hour flight all I wanted to was check in to my room, get some food and go to sleep. However, there were issues from the offset! Upon my arrival I was overcharged for my stay and when this was highlighted I was told that the refund would be processed straight away. Fast forward 8 weeks later and I'd only received the refund just after Christmas. The staff were pretty polite, there was a young girl by the name of Rosanna (I think) that was friendly and extremely apologetic about the issues we had with our room. We were woken up at 8am each morning to the sound of building work happening, to then be told 2 days into our stay that we had to move room due to them wanting to work on the bathroom. This was an easy move as it was only next door but still inconvenient. Overall this isn't the worst place to stay, the rooms are very basic and clean enough and the property itself is well located to be able to get to most places in LA
If your looking for a clean comfortable bed at an affordable price and a clean location, this is a good place. It lacks the “luxury” that Best Western has provided in the past though. While I don't really consider a Best Western to have a 5 star appeal , some little things could improve: Soft white light bulbs (at least that's my two cents at least). It could be just me, but those pale blue fluorescent lighting doesn't cut it. The room is small, so just be prepared. It's a room and a bathroom / shower. Having a higher floor and further in the back may mean no view BUT, away from the street and a quieter sleep. Again, if your using this just to stay the night with being in Santa Monica you should be good.
Rooms are small but clean and cozy. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was minimal and the parking garage is pretty small. Location is pretty nice, across from CBS studios and close to great shopping places.
Nothing special about this location. The parking garage was super tiny and really hard to get in and out of otherwise theres parking in the alley or the street. Pretty pricey because of the location (Beverly Hills). Rooms were pretty standard but at least the staff (Rosa, Cristy and Bridgette) at the front desk were really nice so that's definitely a plus! Not a bad stay, nice that it's close to the grove.
The best value in town. Everyone was friendly. Hotel was quiet. Rooms are very very basic. However you can walk to restaurants and The Grove and Beverly Hills is 3 miles away. You can't find hotels nearby for double the price.
Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Nice breakfast. Room was clean and the internet service was good. Onsite parking, microwave and fridge was good to have. A computer desk would have been nice as I was there on business.
Minimalist hotel on the Beverley ave strip in W. Hollywood convenient for local visits to Holocaust Museum , CBS studio, and parks safely in residential neighborhood and 5 minute walk to Melrose shopping. Very clean, continental breakfast, underground parking and friendly service. Great for solo or couples. Good place to sleep but no inherent restaurant or pool.
Sure Stay was a good value. Motel was clean and good location, walking distance to Farmers Market/Grove. Christian at check in was very helpful. Provided good information regarding local area and restaurant locations. Bridgette at breakfast and checkout was very helpful and pleasant person to talk to. She was helpful in finding local spots of interest.
Great location, full breakfast and good parking are complimentary. Room was big and comfy. But most of all staff was amazing and made me feel at home even if very far away! Thank you so very much to all of your team!
Tv had one channel and the internet was weak. Hotel is in a horseshoe shape and windows face inward towards other rooms so you have to keep the shutters closed at all times if you want any privacy. Shower heads are low, so hard to wash your hair if you are over 5'5".
The building itself was old but the room is clean and the location is perfect to see all the touristic points, the GM was amazing and she was there every-time we needed her , I will definitely come back to the same place
Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for us close to museums and Farmers market. Rooms are small but clean. Try not to get the room on the ground floor overlooking the alley if you are a light sleeper. Clanging of the exit gate was noticable. Would stay again in a different room
Quaint hotel undergoing renavations, but very clean. Staff, Rosa and Bridgette went above and beyond our special requests. Will stay here again when I visit LA. Breakfast was included and had a great selection to choose from, waffles, fresh fruit, juice, yogurt, bagels etc.
Staff was friendly. Rooms were small, but clean. Breakfast didn't have a very healthy selection, but overall did the trick. Parking garage was extremely tight. Thank goodness we were in a very compact rental. The area felt safe and was right across from CBS Studios which was kinda cool. All and all is was a good experience and I would stay there again.
Kristy/Christy was so welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. The hotel was clean, affordable, walking distance to the grove and a short Uber ride away from most areas. Would recommend and stay again!!
I'm in LA for meetings for 5 days and this place has been great. If you're looking for a central, clean, pleasant hotel that won't bankrupt you in an otherwise expensive city, this is for you. The staff are wonderful! Christy and Brigette along with the rest of the team are so pleasant, kind and go out of their way for the 24 hour service. Coffee is available, the bagels and yoghurt are great, haven't tried the pancakes. There's a nice outdoor area and the rooms are basic but very clean and have a great TV and air con.. Ask for room 207, it's got a nice widow view and some perspective.
This is a nice, straightforward hotel with very reasonable rates in a great location for exploring LA sights and sounds. Not far from a bunch of museums, the Walk of Fame, and very close to the Original Farmer's Market and the Grove. The hotel is clean, offers a decent free breakfast, and the staff (especially Rosa) were very kind and helpful. I would certainly return here in the future.
My husband and I booked a room here due to its close proximity to CBS Studios. We were in the studio audience for a TV show and wanted to be close so we didn't have to worry about parking or arriving too early. The hotel is directly across from the Genesee gate, so the location could not have been more perfect.
The staff were great! I called earlier in the day for any last minute cancellations and the gentleman said he would call me back if he had one, which he did. Very nice and accommodating. Parking is not the greatest, read more reviews on that. The room was small and dated, but had everything we needed. Shower heads are a but short. Room was pretty clean but had some small areas that could have been cleaner. A bit pricey but I'd stay again.
Courteous staff. Front desk staff helpful and helped me with parking at hotel. Convenient to West Los Angeles attractions. Beverly Center, Farmers Market, tv studios and museums. Parking though limited is available and included would stay again
Check in was quick, friendly and easy. Parking, though limited, was free - VERY nice these days. The property was clean and well kept. The room was a bit small (looked nothing like the pic on Hotels.com). WiFi? Although they offered it - with a password - the network is unsecured, so Google/Chrome won't allow access for security reasons so there was, for me as a guest, effectively no internet. Otherwise, terrific value, great location, and a suitable stay (there was a coffee shop a block away with free secure wifi so it worked out)
For around $150 a night (about half of what you'll pay at most places in this part of town), you'll get a small, clean, updated room with a great bed and all the basic necessities. This is my second stay and it won't be my last. I am a couple of blocks from The Farmer's Market and Melrose Drive. An easy walk. Also, there are several very cute/trendy cafes and restaurants within a block. While I can afford to stay anywhere, I can't justify expensive hotel rooms where I only spend my sleeping hours and take a shower. Otherwise, I'm out and about. At Sure Stay, I return to a nice, clean, cozy room with a yummy bed. Do beware that there can be some street noise if you have a room that is close to the front. Also, the underground parking is limited and VERY difficult to navigate, so either be a skilled driver with a smaller car, or opt for street parking.
Enjoyed our 3 night stay at this hotel. Was a great value with parking and breakfast, and the location is very convienent for us as we were doing a bit of sight seeing and visiting friends in Hollywood. The available parking is underground and in back - although be aware that the underground parking is quite tight with regard to the ramp - it's handy to have a spotter if you have a large car. If you do not find a spot, the metered parking near the hotel is free from 8pm to 8am. Breakfast was basic but good quality. Our room was actually a 2 bedroom unit and was clean and comfy, although the bathrooms need updating. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The surrounding neighborhood is safe and walkable with a number of good restaurants. Would stay here again if we ever come back.
Stayed on the first floor, facing street. Room too small for two, not enough room nor chairs, tables to put things on. Bathroom should had something to put things on. Unless you have business at CBS which is right across the street, I can see no ohter reason to stay here. Parking lot is dangerous. In addition to the ridiculous effort it took to maneuver car out of the underground parking lot, it was downright dangerous coming up the steep ramp to cross the SIDEWALK without being able to see or stop if anyone is crossing.
They reuse the sheets and pillow cases. sheets and pillow cases were not changed from the last guest checked out. After I saw the pieces of hair on my bed and complained, they changed my room. Very poor service. I DO NOT recommend AT ALL.
The rooms were very small and suffocating. Very dark with high windows that did not face the street. The hallways were also very narrow and tight. You could barely walk with luggage. Parking was also very small fit in the basement! You can not back out of there. It's very tight down there. It also has a very low ceiling.
Overall, my family and I had a great experience. We stayed in a 2 king bed room, which was perfect. The staff were friendly. The only issue I had was parking. I have an SUV and I wouldn't recommend parking it in their parking lot. Fortunately, there was street parking. The location of the hotel was perfect for us.
Great location and fairly basic amenities which was fine for our short stay. A bargain for the location and the fact we had breakfast included. Décor of room and hallways needs a bit of updating but overall a pleasant experience. Would stay again for location and price.
1). Only 14 spots for parking and if you have a large car you may never get into the garage. You have to move back and forth many times to get into the garage and parking space. If not room then you can park in back or park on the street then pay the meter from 8 AM to 8 PM. 2) No Closets - Desk Top stand doors for your cloths. Not much room 3) Found Seven Spiders under the blanket you use for the floor mat for the shower. 4) Very small rooms (16' x 20') and with a King Bed you can only imagine. 5) Wires all hanging from the TV in plain site. and much more.
Wife and I were going to Price is Right the next day so we just tried to get the closest hotel and this was the only one that didn't look too dingy. It was good enough. Nice service, clean albeit small room and free parking. The free breakfast was minimal but we got enough food to make it until after the show. Good location close to CBS, some nice places to eat and grocery stores. I doubt we will ever be back but only because we would have no reason to be in the area again.
The facility is very old. It smells old. One electrical outlet in the whole room worked and it wasn't the one in the bathroom. There was a hair dryer but the plug didn't work. The parking sucked. We hit our car on the block wall trying to get out of the parking structure. The only good thing was the proximity to The Grove. Will never recommend this hotel to anyone. If I could get my money back, I would.
Friendly staff, free parking, and walking distance to The Grove, Fairfax and Melrose... rooms could do with a little TLC but certainly wouldn't put me off staying again and I am kinda fussy!!! For the price this place is great!
It's really Shame for being a best western Memeber this is the worst hotel I ever stayed one Mr Joe is the very arrogant and non guest friendly this has a bad review and unfortunately booked this place for the location really will not recommend this place for any one I booked the place through the BW app but the Joe said we booked in wrong name and address as we already checked in with proper names and payments done all of us sudden he comes to the room banging the door by saying you have to vacate the place with no reason Best Western has to take the call for it this is really disgusting
Dont go here. You can find much better hotel with the proce you will pay here. Best western shoukd tske the name away or fix from inside. Outside look is decissive. Rooms have eater marks and stinks. Was praying no mold. None of the rooms are good.
Staff was very friendly and helpful, they went above an beyond to help me have a great stay. Hotel is older, but clean and a great location. Walking distance to the Grove, Farmers Market, and lots of great restaurants.
I was in town for the night with family to see a TV show taping across the street and this location was absolutely wonderful. The room was spacious. Parking was free and the location was awesome. I would and will definitely stay here again. The service was great as well. Thank you, Rosario.
Great accommodation for the price you pay. Rooms were clean and appear to have been recently updated. Continental breakfast included. If you are looking for affordable clean accommodations, I would recommend the SureStay Hotel. If you are looking for luxury, keep it moving. Not too far from WEHO and Hollywood Blvd.
It was okay for downtown Los Angeles. There are nicer ones but you pay for what you get. The staff was really friendly and nice. Made the stay worth it. It is close to many Downtown venues. Parking is additional.
Staff was very friendly and patient at check-in, and the place was decent for a fair price. Location was very convenient and near some good restaurants as food options. Parking was free! The registration area is open 24 hours for help, but there is no security barrier between the outside and the stairs and hallways of the property, so anyone can walk into the building and get to the rooms (or near them) - but at least there are security cameras everywhere. The parking spaces below the building were also convenient but the ramp is extremely narrow and quite tricky/intimidating to get out of - not a fun drive-away, especially if it dark out or if you are in a hurry, so take it easy!
The place was one of the cheapest hotels in the area, which we used mainly to sleep. Big mistake. It was also one of the creepiest hotels we've ever stayed at. My family and I were down the street most of the day at the hospital with my sister. One of the days we were locked out of our rooms because our key cards came unprogrammed. We couldn't find anybody in the office, and it took the clerk twenty minutes to come back and reprogram the cards. She also kept mumbling incoherently the whole time as if she was on crack or something. While we were waiting to have our key cards reprogrammed, someone else came down and started complaining about cigarette butts in between their mattress. The bathroom door to my room would not close properly. On the last day we were there, there was absolutely no hot water. My sister in the room across from mine said it sounded like if someone was trying to get into her room during the night. We told her it was her imagination. However, on the day my sisters and I checked out, my brother in-law and his friend stood one more night. During the night they were awakened as someone did manage to get into their room. As they both got up off their beds the guy took off running out of the room and out the hotel. They weren't able to catch him; however, they did manage to review the video footage of the incident. Seems like my sister was correct, and someone was trying to enter her room. If you're looking for a hotel to stay at, do not stay at this one. Stay somewhere else, somewhere safe. Something very shady is going on there.
Thinnest walls. We heard EVERY sound in the surrounding rooms and the room below. And the alarm went off in the middle of the night. Noisy small refrigerator. I finally got up in the middle of the night to turn if off, but then decided to turn it back on because it partially drowned out the noise from our neighbors below. While the room itself appeared relatively clean, the hallways were a mess. Our room had weird stuff, like a plastic cover (mini shower cap) on the bathroom door handle, and hand written numbers above some of the doors. Plus, our room had a funny smell. Like vanilla being used to cover up cigarette smoke. Hallway had food crumbs on the floor, new and old stains. Narrow hallways, with lots of marks from things bumping the walls. Grungy and hard to access (very narrow entry) basement for parking. Odd experience at check in. The clerk did not seem to understand the prebooking we had done, and said it looked like we have booked through Asian country. Asked us if we just returned, and said we should check with our credit card company. While I understand Best Western has just taken over, IMHO they should close until they can renovate. This actually is in a great location, but I pretty much lost an entire night sleep because of conditions.
We stay in this hotel reserving 2 rooms for 2 people (1 big bed for every room). At our arrival they give us 2 single room very small with 1 normal bed (to small for a couple). Nice position but is to expensive for this structure.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was big had a bed and couch in 1 room then bed and bathroom in other.(room221) breakfast had cereal, assortment of individually wrapped bear claws, yogurt and waffle maker. Room showed signs of wear and tear but was clean. Bed was comfortable. Inside common areas looked clean also. Price was decent for area, room was clean, staff was friendly and housekeeping came everyday.....so just what we needed in a hotel.... it was nice to come back to beds made and clean towels after sightseeing all day. Had my 16 and 11 year old with us and we all felt safe. Room windows faced Beverly bl but none of us had problem sleeping because of traffic noise. Would definitely stay here again.
Most disgusting place I've ever been. I was awakened by a huge roach walking on my leg in bed! I jumped out and immediately packed and left at around 12am with no place to go. The receptionist said he could not refund and I would need to speak to the mgr in the am. The location was a bit sketchy with sketchy characters lingering in front of the entrance. It was loud. I definitely would not recommend staying here, you will not be comfortable. It's disgusting
Location was okay, traffic level and noise low. Decent pricing for what it is. Definitely a good place if all you need is a shower and a quick refresh before exploring. Would stay again. Staff were helpful and let us drop bags off hours before check in. Good location to wander down to the Groves farmers Market for the Christmas displays. Rooms were spacious enough, bathroom was a little outdated with mouldy silicone on bathtub edges. This was in 2017 though so most probably already addressed.
We are a family of four adults. We needed two rooms with four beds. On line, we were quoted a rate for just that. On arrival, we were told there were no rooms available with two beds. Therefore, we had to pay for three rooms! The manager did lower the rate on TWO rooms, by $20/ea. There were no other hotels in the area, so we were captive! We moved as soon as another hotel was available, after 4 nights. We will never stay at Rodeway again.
