Anyone who leaves anything less than a 5 star review is delusional. Some of these people forgot what they paid for. They expected to be at the Ritz for the cost of staying here. I received what I needed and more, with one of the best customer service experiences I have ever received. I would know, having worked in customer service for 25 years. Kevin and Fred are gems for Best Western and hope they get recognized for it.
When in LA, I have come to this hotel over and over again for many years. The staff and management are always courteous, helpful and friendly. I give special kudos to Fred for always being personable and paying attention to details. The hotel is located close to everything. So no matter where you want to go, it is a short drive away. For me the Best Western Royal Palace Inn & Suites is the best place to stay while I visit LA.
I give this hotel 5 stars because it was exactly what we needed for one night in LA. We needed two quiet rooms located near each other, a good parking situation, and breakfast included. We got everything we needed. In addition, the hotel is located near the 10 and the 405, which was great for easy access, but you would not have known this by the neighborly quiet location of the hotel. We will definitely stay here again on future trips to LA. The rooms and bathrooms were nicely sized and very comfortable. We stayed in Rooms 252 and 253. We had no issues at all with noise, whether from the street and/or nearby rooms. The breakfast area is a bit small, but it all worked out just fine and we enjoyed a nice breakfast. Fred, Celeste, and Kevin all gave great customer service, whether in person or during my, "I have questions" phone calls.
This hotel is a hidden gem in West Los Angeles! It may look older, but everything inside the hotel was wonderful! The staff couldn't have been kinder or more attentive. The room was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast each morning was hot, fresh, and delicious, just totally outstanding! It was close to everything we wanted to visit- The Getty Museum and Gardens, so many beautiful botanical gardens, Santa Monica and the Pacific Ocean, Will Rogers Park, and the UCLA campus! (There is also a 35 acre botanical garden at UCLA.) We stayed at the hotel from July 23-30, 2024! We were visiting with family and were welcomed and treated like royalty, just like all other guests were treated. We highly recommend this hotel and will stay here the next time we visit Los Angeles.
This is one of the best experiences I've ever had at a Best Western. The bathroom was a bit small, but our room was nicely sized. Fred at the front desk is truly one of the best hotel staff members we've ever encountered. He made sure we felt welcomed. Thank you, Fred!
My husband and I took her three teen daughters with us for a 4th of July get away from the New Mexico heat.
Although $200 a night is a bit pricey for us, it was one of the better deals in the area and less than half an hour to the beach. We enjoyed the hotel for the one night we stayed there. We loved the layout of the room and it had lots of closet space. The breakfast was delicious and the workers were very kind and extremely helpful. We even forgot an important item at the hotel and they quickly helped us figure out how to get it mailed out. Overall, the hotel was worth the price and felt safe.
Avoid this motel. It smelled bad. There were bugs inside the room. The shower was dirty. Parking was horrible.
The staff at the Hotel id very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and neat. The breakfast was good and a great way to start your day. Parking is limited and not real easy to get in and out. The bad thing about this place is that it is very loud. There was a sound like water running all the time. It came from nothing in our room. The stairs going to the second floor makes a loud thumping noise and the walls are thin.
Great place to stay wonderful staff they will fill all your needs very comfortable and great breakfast as well; I would recommend this place to everybody coming into this area and have a much pleasurable stay.I've been in other accommodations and by far the best Western suites and inn on Sepulveda is a wonderful location to stay
This hotel is in a very central location if you want to visit some of the area's attractions, like the Getty Center, or the Peterson Auto Museum, or the beaches. That's why we stayed there. Also, the price was good AND the hotel has refrigerators and microwaves. We were in a "suite" that had a small living room with a TV, and a bedroom with a TV. These rooms are separated by a door, which was nice when my husband and I watched different shows. Our room faced the back area so we had a view of a telephone pole and a hedge! But we thought it was a better choice as it was quieter than facing the noisy street. The staff is great and they keep the hotel very clean. The typical Best Western breakfast is fine, if cramped. This is not the type of area where you can walk to eateries or stores. You must drive or get something delivered. The pool was small but functional and there are a few tables with umbrellas next to it. The one big thing that could be a problem for most everyone is the parking garage. It is CRAMPED and it is difficult to turn into and out of. So, if you're driving, you're better off with a smaller car. A big SUV will not work!
Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is ok. Location is is closed by public transport. But if you prefer uber or lyft tourist spots is not that far and will cost cheap.
Fred and the rest of the staff were very accommodating. We arrived earlier than check in time, so he upgraded us to a suite and recommended Santa Monica Pier for lunch in the meantime. The room was clean, comfortable and came with toiletries and even shoe shine! The breakfast buffet was delicious. The hotel is walking distance from the metro which saved us a TON of money vs taking an Uber or Taxi. The metro can take you pretty much anywhere worth seeing in L. A. It was only about $5 for the day and we went all the way to Universal Studios and to the Griffith Observatory to see the Hollywood sign. We also got to relax in the hot tub that night which was excellent. Extremely accommodating staff, cleanly, sleek lobby and room designs, conveniently located and affordable. Thank you so much!
Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Fred and Celeste from front desk were extremely friendly. Breakfast spread was great. Parking available on site. Prices are lowest around the area. We are definitely booking here again. Great experience.
The staff was very friendly and helpful from booking, during stay and checking out. We are working in the area and our crew asks to stay here every time. We have more work in the area and will definitely stay here. Fred remembers me every time I call and treats us like family. The rooms are clean and well maintained. I would recommend this hotel to everyone if staying in the area.
This is a great hotel to stay in for business or pleasure located close to Avenue of the Stars and all that Beverly Hills has to offer. Century City mall is just up the street for great food , people and shopping .
While this Best Western is overpriced due to its age and maintenance standards, it is a good overall lodging experience. Location is not comfortable so please Beware! The parking garage is rather challenging to enter and exit too.
Awesome place to stay!! The staff is what makes it worth it. The manager, Fred bends over backwards to accommodate you. Kevin's customer service skills are some of the best. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean. It's my hotel of choice
My first time staying here. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The location is excellent: close to UCLA, Santa Monica and the beach, etc. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. Fred and also Celeste at the front desk were always very welcoming, efficient, and extremely helpful. Even the housekeepers were friendly when you met them in the hallway! There is just a nice, comfortable feeling in this hotel because of the people who work there. Definitely will return in the future!
We stayed 4 nights on a stop in LA. Was very comfortable for a family of 5. Very helpful and friendly staff. Easy location for tram, got lyft about easily. Fred was extremely helpful to us. Would def return.
If you're looking for a modest hotel, but only for a family trip , with a clean room,, for a short getaway to LA, this place is for you. Book ahead of time because the place gets full easily. It's located near a major blvd. (Sepulveda) and this makes it easier to find any other destinations in LA.
I have used this hotel for many years mainly due to the friendly staff and clean facility. Fred, the manager, is always there to address any concerns and help out. I can't say enough on how accommodating he is. Staying at this hotel has always been a good experience.
I stayed here for 4 nights in August. This hotel isn't great for walkers, although there are one or two good restaurants near by. The metro station is just a block away, and for $1.75 I was able to go anywhere the train goes. Santa Monica Beach is just a short ride away. The Getty Museum is also just 15 minutes away by car. But what set my visit apart was the service delivered by the staff at this hotel. Fred at the front desk was extremely helpful and positive. He loaned me a TAP card to use on the Metro, and he was always pitching in at the breakfast area, cleaning tables and helping to seat people. Fred helped me with extending my reservation and with retrieving a couple of clothing items I left behind at checkout. He reflects very well on the Best Western brand.
Adequate hotel with few amenities. However was comfortable although rooms are small and need remodeling. Breakfast was typical for most hotels. Bed was comfortable and room was fairly quiet so you could get a good sleep. Parking on site was a little contrived. Would probably look for another hotel next time but the area is good.
The positives: Very clean rooms. Our room was very spacious (very good for families). The hotel grounds are pretty small. Staff is helpful. The areas to be improved: Our room was not ready when we arrived (even though it was well after check-in time). The accessibility is a little tricky, depending on where you enter from. The negatives: The parking areas are all spit up and are in strange locations. Very thin walls, you can hear everything going on in the rooms next to you. The distribution of space in the bathroom was really weird.
We stayed for the location and were impressed by the service ethic of the staff -- who were very helpful and friendly -- as well as the comfort of the beds and rooms. Would recommend for families who want a comfortable hotel in a central location (near the metro) in LA at a reasonable price.
It was great it was very clean friendly people buffet was very good I had no problems checking in or out cleaners were very nice the guy at front was also a very nice person to me and my husband checking in and answered all of our concerns.
Convenient access to Westwood/UCLA and Santa Monica. Room was clean. Beds were good. A separate TV room and balcony were great. Good hot and cold breakfast options (included). Office Manager, Fred, was really nice and accommodating.
This location works out great for us....whether visiting family at UCLA...or coming to the area for business. The staff are attentive and helpful, and the breakfast area is big and bright. Very easy access to everything up and down Sepulveda.
We were meeting some friends for graduation celebration. Was ideally located near metro to both downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica so we literally used it every day. Was a welcome surprise. But would still recommend the hotel anyway
All team are very good and This hotel also is very accessible to all metro and bus. Very easy to go everywhere. Hotel is very clean Breakfast is excellent . Fred who is the assistant general manager is very nice and assists the guest as best as he can . I did really appreciate this hotel and I recommend it.
My insurance company put me up for almost a month while my home was being repaired. My room was exceedingly comfortable, there was an elaborate and tasty complementary breakfast each morning, the motel is less than a block from the public transit train . . . all adding up to a perfect, reasonably priced place to stay for anyone wanting to visit Los Angeles while on a budget. In addition, my regular dealings with the assistant general manager, Fred Buhat, were a continual demonstration in how to make a customer feel well taken care of. Fred was attentive to my every concern, and even anticipated some small things before they became issues. He is a model representative in every way, and I would highly recommend the Royal Palace to friends, family, and anyone reading this.
Stayed in room 202 1/10 to 1/12 This place is in a residential area on Sepulveda bl, a very busy street . The main building has 3 floors with indoor hallways. There are other 2 story buildings. They are well-maintained. The place was clean and safe and the staff was great. Fred should run for president. The street was noisy, but not at night.Internet, plumbing, hvacal all worked well The garage is a carport under the building .Some of the spaces did not have much headroom . There were spaces for larger vehicles. The garage was the only part of the hotel that not cosmetically appealing Parking is $11 a day with in and out privileges. I would not recommend parking on the street. You can steal and vandalize ,but I pity the fool who violates parking rules. They ticket and tow aggressively The lobby had complimentary water, fruit, and newspapers. There was an ice and vending machine, and travel coupons. The breakfast would make healthy eaters cringe. It was tasty and well- maintained by a cheerful attendant. There were cooked eggs, pancakes, sausage and assorted breads, cereals, fruit, yogurt, and beverages The outdoor pool was not heated this time of year. The jacuzzi was. The basement had a small gym and guest laundry, Pets are not allowed The room had comfy beds, a desk and dresser, phone, clock, iron, safe, and tv. There were 2 spacious closets .Plenty of plugs The bathroom was small. It had a hairdryer. The vanity area was not separate. No tub, just a walk in shower. There was a sitting room with a sofa bed, tv,cofeemaker, fridge, and microwave There was a balcony with a view of the street and a beautiful garden This place is cheap by LA standards. You can pay twice as much and not get the great staff, location , and amenities as this place. Join the rewards club and get special rates and points you can use for stays at other BW locations. This is the best BW You can drive or use ride share to get around LA .This place has location, location, location .Traffic can be bad and parking non existent and expensive Below is a guide for public transportation LAX is 10 miles away .Hotel has no shuttle You need to take a shuttle from LAX to the transit Ctr. From there take Culver City bus 6 . It will stop by the hotel and continue to Westwood and UCLA. This bus also connects to east west buses on major streets .At UCLA you can connect to the SF valley. Going to SOFI or The Forum ? Take number 6 south and connect to an eastbound bus on Century Bl Going to Redondo Beach? Take the same number 6 south to the Green Line .This line goes to Redondo to the west, Norwalk to the east The Green line has a shuttle to LAX It's a very short ride west on the Expo train Santa Monica where you can go the amusement park on the pier, go to the beach, or rent bikes or go skating There is shopping and dining at the mall . They have a great salad bar .Shakeys Pizza still has the bunch of lunch and mojo potatoes There is a mall across the street Walk 5 minutes to the Expo line and catch Metro 761 to the Getty Museum Admission is free Great art, city views, beautiful garden Go west for a short ride on the Expo line to Santa Monica Enjoy the beach, the pier and shopping and dining
A surprisingly quiet room on a very busy street. Staff was kind and helpful. Check-in and check-out was quick and easy. Lobby area was clean and had plenty of space. Food was good. What's not to like?!
Served our purpose. We were in town for a conference, so not at the hotel much. The room was large, but the bathroom was so, so tiny! The room was clean, but well worn. Bed was new and comfy. Breakfast was good. Internet was intermittent; the manager said it was not very robust and needed to be rebooted. So if the internet is not working call the front desk. Staff was very friendly.
This is a nice less expensive hotel option in a sea of expensive hotels. The staff is great, free breakfast, and a location that is close to may things in LA. The rooms could use some updates, but the beds were very comfortable. The staff is what really makes this place stand out as they were very attentive and friendly.
This hotel had many problems, it starts with the price. It is very over priced! It looks like an older hotel that is not very well maintained. The room we had was upstairs, dark, not very clean with dirty carpets especially inside the closets. The people were just ok, but did not go an extra step It seemed to me like the staff was overwhelmed. Inside the room, the plaster was coming of the ceiling. At breakfast it was crowded and some items were missing. Location is not great either, only 1 restaurant close that they off course recommend. It is a short drive from the Santa Monica Pier. We would not stay here again
The room smelt like sewer. The ac didn't work and it was cooler outside than the room was. The floor hasn't been vacuumed in some time. There was pee in the toilet when we arrived. We were forced to check out at 8am instead of 12pm because they decided to strip and clean our room while we were eating breakfast. They set our bags outside the door which forced us to check out.
Good property with access to nearby places. Rooms and amenities were as described on the website. Fred was very helpful with all the processes. Overall, you get what you pay for and it was a pleasant stay.
I spent a week at this hotel when I was visiting my daughter. The room was large (with a reading chair & ottoman), quiet, clean & comfortable. With someone at the front desk 24 hours & cameras in the parking area, I felt safe, even coming back late in the evening. The pool is small but it was nice to cool off in the afternoon. The hotel is just a block from the Metro & I was able to get to the Santa Monica Pier in 10 minutes for just $1.75 and without having to deal with the parking hassle & expense. The location - right next to the 405 & 10 freeways - was very convenient, only 15 minutes to the Getty Center! I will definitely be back.
This hotel is a great value and the location is excellent for the westside. Staff is friendly and helpful. the manager goes out of his way to make you feel you are family and not just a customer. We will definitely stay here again when in LA.
Hello Fellow Travelers, All the personal, from the on-site plumber; bellman; to the ladies who cleaned our room with that special touch so we had to leave a nice stipend every day as our way of saying thank you; to Fred, the Manager. (I thought Fred was the owner in disguise because he was so accommodating.) Everyone went out of their way to make this our home away from home. Breakfast: This wasn't your usual motel breakfast buffet. This was a full breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage patties, fresh made pancakes, waffles, yogurt, croissants; several choices of juice, and the list goes on and on. I'm a little, okay a lot fussy, especially about cleanliness. So, it's more than nice to go someplace and be surprised. We've been blessed with a 107 countries under our belts, so we know the good from the bad to the ugly. There was no doubt that this was the good. Thank you Best Western. We've now booked another Best Western Plus French Quarter Courtyard Hotel later on this year.
Great stay and service! Fred especially is wonderful and makes sure you have everything you need during your stay! Room was clean and quiet. Parking was available so you didn't have to leave your car on the street. Would recommend this hotel.
Landscaping and pool area was very nice and well kept. Everything was great. Location to UCLA Outpatient Hospital was great. Restaurants nice. Check In/Check Out great. Staff was very helpful. Excellent.
We always stay at area or location where all amenities are close and accessible, this is one of the spots in the city closer to almost everything on that location. Glad that we able to reserve on the last minute of our trip and didn't have to worry because most of our experiences with Best Western were great and always hoping it will stay that way and we never been wrong. So far most of the staff are really accommodating and helpful in any way they could.
A perfectly nice hotel. The suite was large (other than the very tiny bathroom), very clean, and the beds were comfy. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was better than average for a hotel buffet. Pool is very small and would be good only for taking a quick dip or very small children. So it isn't fancy but nice and hard to beat at this price point in this part of town.
Very nice and helpful personell. Breakfast OK, better than a continental breakfast but could be better. Located close to Expo Line and then easy to go to Santa Monica 3rd street and Pier or Downtown LA
We always have fun at BW! We come here often and every time it is a good time. Especially if Fred is there. He's the best representative at Best Western. Very professional and great deals every time. The breakfast is great too. My kids love the sausages and pancakes!
This hotel meet my expectations and more. It accommodates larger families, which is rare to find in that area. Breakfast had different options, Employees were very friendly, and the price was a great value.
It's tough picking a play to stay in an unfamiliar, big city while traveling with kids. We want to feel safe and have our basic needs and comforts met. This hotel exceeded our expectations! The rooms were very clean. The breakfast was excellent to fill up the kiddos before hitting the streets! The staff was extremely kind, patient and helpful to our questions. The neighborhood was quiet and an easy walk to the metro to get to Santa Monica Pier. I highly recommend you look no further.
Booked through the Expedia, the pictures in Expedia does not reflect the actual rooms. I got the suite, but the restroom is so small can not sit on the toilet with hitting your head on the counter. Car parking is a joke and you are charging $11 per night. It like an alley going into the car park, there is no separate path between going in coming out. There is no way to see if some one is coming down. If you come in late very hard to park even if spot is available. If you rent a subcompact or motorcycle, parking will be easy.
My husband and I stayed once at this hotel a few years ago. We met the manager Fred and liked his style of management. It has now become home away from home as we travel to LA monthly. Fred and staff have become extended family. This is why we stay here. 1. Location, location, location. Two blocks away on Pico Blvd, you will find restaurants galore, even the Landmark movie theaters. 2. The caring folks at the front desk. Need more tissue/toilet paper, fresh towels. Just ask. Need help with the room microwave. Within minutes staff is in your room explaining how to operate it. Need a referral as to where to eat. They know the area. 3. We chose a room with two queen beds and separate room with sofa and tv. The balcony has two chairs and table to enjoy morning coffee, etc. 4. A hot/cold breakfast is available daily. Eggs are offered both hot and hard boiled. A pancake machine is available. Several types of yogurt, fresh fruit, breads and muffins, and packaged oatmeal are offered. Hot beverages are coffee and many types of teas. True to Best Western style, coffee is available 24/7. Cool water is provided in a large spouted bottle. 5. You have your choice of parking: paid onsite parking $11 or street parking. But, again, it's the people that make us wanting to return. We want to acknowledge the kindness that we have been shown by Fred, manager, and Celeste, staff. If you are not satisfied with something, Fred wants to know, so he, as manager, can fix it, change it, you get the idea. When he found out we were in LA to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday, he left beverages and packaged treats in our room. Celeste is the go-to for restaurant knowledge about what's good to eat in the area. We have walked to two delicious Italian restaurants and a family Mexican restaurant. All are patronized by locals, so you know the food is delicious and affordable.
the place would benefit from some renovation. looks a little run down. there is a stale smell in the elevator. the bathroom is surprisingly small, and no hook or bar to hang any towel. the beds are comfortable. enjoyed the small TV room with its own door. must pay extra for the parking under the building. the parking exit is very narrow, not easy to use. better park on the street.
We stayed at the Best Western on Sepulveda Blvd for more than two weeks in Dec 2021 to January 2022. All I can say is that THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC!!!! Here are some of the reasons why this is an amazing place to stay at when in LA: 1. The hotel has a perfect location for exploring the Westside including UCLA, Santa Monica, Japantown, Mar Vista and Culver City with easy access to the Expo line and plenty of buses. It is also a short drive from LAX and freeways, reducing time you spend on the road or hefty taxi costs. 2. As a family, we enjoyed the hotel's heated pool and gym areas. The room (two queen sized beds with a TV room and balcony) offered ample space for the four of us and it had two TVs, a coffee maker and lots of storage space. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. The breakfast had a tasty and varied selection of food and drinks. 3. The warmth and friendliness of a hotel staff like the one at the Best Western at Sepulveda is priceless and really hard to come by in other places! Fred, the co-manager, went out of his way to make sure our family and everyone else staying at BW felt comfortable. Cleaning lady and breakfast assistant Paula greeted us every morning with a smile and showed us items that we might like even if superbusy with both cleaning and stacking food shelves. Other staff members were also great in all respects. These people deserve a promotion for all the good work they do and their excellent customer service. I have seen other reviews comment on the age of the building and things with cleanliness that they were not pleased with. We stayed at this place for more than two weeks and never encountered a problem with how the rooms/ building look like or how the cleaning was performed. On the contrary, in our experience, the hotel was really good at cleanliness and preventing the spread of COVID. I highly recommend this place for families, couples and singles - you will not find a similar gem in West LA for this rate!!!!!!
I had cancelled a reservation booked through expedia. There was a comedy of errors in terms of expedia, tech issues and the documentation not being available for the hotel. I received a call today from the manager who itemized what he had done to bring about a resolution. He had integrity and was kind. I am deeply impressed with his customer service etc. This is the sort of professional I would like to work with all the time. I didn't stay at the venue, but can vouch for their going above and beyond to ensure my issue was taken care of. Thank you!!!
We had an emergencynthat required a 6 day stay. The staff was very accommodating and, although the motel was full, mthey called us as soon as their was an early departure, to let us have a room. Every moment, we felt like valued guests.
Fred is a class act. Really attentative and even though he couldn't accomadate our request for two separate beds, he was apologetic about it. A real profession. The room itself was spacious be we were really disappointed in the size of the bed. It was most likely a full and not a queen. Bathroom was clean and spacious as well. Our room was provided with a mini-fridge, microwave, and working table. One minor gripe was the "sticky" feeling of the carpetting. So probably best to bring your house slippers. And even though our room was on the first floor and facing Sepulvada, we had a restful and quiet one night stay.
We love our room every time we reserve it. Fred, the manager is thee best!!!! Very professional and accommodating. Rooms are nice and spacious. The bathrooms are clean and neat. I love the showers, but the tubs are nice too! Best Western is awesome!
I recently joined a startup in LA area and have to frequently travel from the Bay area, but didn't want to drive in LA traffic after my nightly stays. My company's HR recommended Best Western, which is a walking distance from my office location. Hotel managers, Fred and Celeste, ensured that my room was clean and ready. There was hot breakfast and a Wall Street journal paper in the morning. I plan to stay here on my future trips due to convenient location and friendly staff.
We travel for work constantly so we get to know A LOT of hotels and their staff. That being said, Fred and his staff could teach a clinic of how to treat guests. They are awesome and we will definitely return, thank you guys!
This place is amazing. Location !!! Minutes to the 405 or the 10 -- and also the new Expo Line - and several main crosstown surface streets -- you can get anywhere - with ease. Great room - temperature control. Fast internet - a wonderful heated pool with jets and a colder swimming pool - going back and forth really soothed my aching travel muscles. The staff - was just the best -- helping with info - and making the experience a total joy. Fred in particular -- knew just what room - would be best for my stay. You really actually feel like you are a guest in someone's home - not a random, aloof business. I stayed at a well known hotel in Hollywood a couple weeks earlier - because I had meetings early in that area -- and it was a tiny uncomfortable room - and started off twice the price of this Best Western - and then everything got added on -- (ding, ka-ching - ding ding) so it was even more expensive. My only worry about touting this place - is everyone will find it and it will be booked up forever -- but when I come to LA - ( a few weeks of year usually ) this is where I will be staying.
The hotel was fine but I paid $10 for parking that I didn't get to use. They over booked the hotel, with minimal parking allowed and then they said I couldn't park since it was full. This is an issue that needs to be addressed.
This is a very old hotel and it was obvious. The place smelled of mildew in the hallways and the room (not as bad as the hallway). The bathroom was small. Parking was located beneath the hotel and was dated, dirty, and did not appear safe for 3 women traveling. We opted to park on the street when we could. That being said, the service we received at the front desk made the trip a pleasant one. The front desk clerk (Jeff?) exceeded our expectations in a host.
Check in was smooth and staff friendly. The rooms were very clean, and the suite quite large. Breakfast was good, with fresh fruit, cereal, automatic pancakes, sugar free syrup, eggs, yogurt, etc. Wall Street Journal. The only draw back is the narrow entrance to the garage. With our small SUV we could barely fit. Would stay here again.
Fred was the most helpful staff member we have ever had the pleasure of working with, not just with our BW stays - but in general. He is informative, helpful, and genuinely kind, he is certainly an asset and we would absolutely stay here again if it means getting to interact with Fred. The rooms are nice, well kept, clean and there is a cool bus/shuttle thing that picks you up right in front and takes you wherever you would like to go - very convenient. Best BW stay thus far!
The first time was amazing the pool was awesome the jacuzzi was awesome the room I got was so cold and it felt so good the breakfast here was amazing you cannot beat what you paid for my second time here and I feel like it's home the staff is awesome the manager he is just so great and works with you so overall a good experience and will be coming back
Very nice hotel, my wife was having surgery at the hospital in Beverly Hills and it's very close by. Everyone at the front desk was very nice and helpful. It's also close to Santa Monica and the beach.
I had a wonderful stay with my significant other from June 5th to June 6th. The cleanliness of the room was refreshing and nice. The location of the hotel was less than 30 minutes from the Santa Monica Pier as well as many other attraction spots which was amazing.
First off the staff is very very nice. The manager Fred and his team accommodated me and my family at the last minute with no confusion. The place was clean and quiet and I love the balcony. No issues
Management front desk staff cleaning crew was efficient and very polite . Nice location and nice rooms . Very clean. I am always amazed at efficiency of front desk here and management and how courteous they are and able to accommodate efficiently their guests . Thank you Best Western !
This place was very clean and we had a nice room with a balcony. We had a good nights sleep, it was quiet. Management was nice and went out of their way to provide guests with what they needed or wanted. Coffee, juice and bagged breakfast due to COVID 19. I would stay here again. Nearby food choices. Close to the freeway and VA hospital.
Fred, the manager, deserves 10 stars in the hospitality department. My experience at this hotel was amazing and Fred went above and beyond measures in making our stay truly a pleasure. The staff is wonderful, the room was clean, quiet and fantastic. I plan to stay at this Best Western again as everything was perfect.
Fred is the best manager to work with. This is a home away from home. The rooms are very clean and comofortable. Fred and his staff are kind and always happy to see you! Celeste goes above and beyond to to help you in any way that she can. Your stay will be smooth and pleasant. Thank you Fred!
I'm currently moving to California and I choose to stay here everytime I come handle business because the location is great, the rooms are awesome, and Fred which is the manager, is just such a awesome pure hearted kind man who always helps anyone the best way he can. And if it weren't for him it would be so hard to get rooms in Santa Monica for me. So stay here and ask for Fred whenever you can because he will give you the best service and will help you . Thank you.
I stayed there for 2 weeks and the Asian gentleman was so nice and very excellent hospitality I definitely will be back and I hope he will be there thank you for being so kind I wish I knew his name he works mornings
I would love to recognize your wonderful staff that you have at, "THE BEST WESTERN," in West Los Angeles. I've had to stay here for about 2 months now for the reason that I'm moving from one apartment to another. At first I thought that this would be the worst thing to do in staying at a hotel and not knowing how long I would be there. But as they say " you should never count your chicks till they hatch". My stay here has been a very great experience, and I would do it all over again if I had to. I have 2 small service dogs that do not bark or pee in the room. they are very well trained dogs, the front desk crew has never had to say anything to me about my service animals. One thing I would like to say is that this hotel has the best Front Desk Staff and The best housekeeper's, now where could you ever find the perfect Hotel around., I personally don't think you can. If I had to do this all over again I would with no regret's. I just wanted to let you all know that I loved my stay here, I truly believe that if your staff didn't make it so comfortable and always helped me in what ever I might have needed with out getting upset or maybe saying sorry can't help you, I would be writing a complain but this is far from a complain! The front desk manager "Fred", he is such a good person with such a happy attitude. He has always made sure I was okay and if I needed anything. If I did need anything he got right on it and accommodated me with what I had wanted or needed. Also the housekeeper\\"s are so sweet and so understanding. They have helped me too in certain things like needing towels, or maybe just have them vacuum my room and went with their day. Bottom line i have no bad remarks or anything bad to say about anyone of the people working here, they have went out of their way for me and for that reason their like family to me. You best believe I will be visiting them all. Especially "Mr. Boss Man Fred", :) He is a really good Manager and you all should be very grateful to have him on your team. He makes this hotel run smooth and peaceful and has the customer's feeling like your at home here. I have to say that you all have 10 star's from me and not the normal 5 star's. Thank you so much for making this stay a comfortable and un-forgettable place for me and my husband and my service animals, we all say God Bless You All and May The Good Lord Always Watch Over You All!!!!
I had called the hotel to get figure out if they had long term accommodation options at the hotel and also find out if the hotel would and could shut down and sought the email address of the GM from the person who picked up, Fred. He claimed he was the assistant GM and could not give the email of the GM and asked me to call him back if he needed any other info as he was busy and hung up. I called back and he then decides not to pick up. After several attempts he picks up and then tells me he does not have time for telemarketer, I tell him I am looking to stay and he then tells me he does not need the business as he is full and again hangs up on me. Wow, this was a first for me. Does anyone know this man and how do I ensure that this mans behaviour is censured.
At every turn we were treated with respect and kindness and total professionalism. Comfortable bed. We came to the area for a medical appointment for my husband; he is disabled. Staff anticipates our needs and does their best to keep us safe and comfortable.
First is the parking. The few available spots leave you to find parking on the street close to the hotel only if you're lucky. The rooms have doors with about an inch gap on the floor, so you can can see light streaming from the hall and hear even the most casual conversation echoing inside your room from passerby. Inside the room there was only a view of the parking lot and the workers trucks. The "grab-and-go" breakfast is an apple, a granola bar and a juice box. Now for the absolute worst: the bathroom. There was a small rectangle that was the shower, cramped next to it a sink and then a toilet. I turned on the shower, then entered and immediately went straight down! I slipped on the slick, wet porcelain bottom of the shower and found myself in an indian position praying I did not snap my legs. After an eternally long few seconds, I attempt to unravel myself. I wound up banging up my ankles which even after a week I have soreness on them. There were no handles in the shower, no slip pads, nothing. There's more, but what's the point? There are plenty of choices in this price point that will serve your needs much better than this place.
We have stayed here for 2 nights. The property is very convenient to all points in West La and close to hwy 10 and 405. Rooms are nice - although bathrooms are really small. It would be nice to have had a larger bathroom and tub. I like the light fixtures and availability of outlets. Another nice feature is there is a separate room with coffee machine sofa and tv. Because of covid 19 the pool is not open and only a meager grab and go breakfast. Also Fox News was on tv in hotel lobby -(
We are always treated with excellent service, kindness, care, professionalism. The hotel is always clean and well maintained. Any problems are addressed right away. We've been staying here since 2013 and will stay again when we are in the area. The staff remembers us and we call them friends.
We had a 4 day stay at the Best Western Royal. I found the service was very friendly, accommodating and found the hotel room to be very clean. We were even offered extra towels without asking. Breakfast included eggs, potatoes, fruit, a parfait station and an assortment of baked goods. Fred was very helpful and also accommodating.
The rooms are clean and their staff are sooooooo nice. The valet are super accommodating and the front desk is always super helpful. The location is perfect so I can hop on the metro and explore the area. I will definitely come back again.
Excelent hotel. Nice people. Very cleen. Very Easy to arrive to the hotel from the Airport. Easy to park the car. Very good Breakfast and free coffee all day. Very good and cleen pool. Good location and close to the efter.
A very good choice for a LA or Santa Monica visit. The price is right, great value compared to other options in the area and the staff are all friendly and helpful. Very convenient (half block walk) to the LA Metro E line stop serving downtown LA and Santa Monica. The breakfast was very good and they had convenient valet parking on site. Well served by Uber and Lyft.
We frequently have stayed at the Royal Palace when visiting family in L.A. during the last 15 years, and are always impressed with the reliable warmth, service, and care we've experienced from everyone who works there. Can't beat the location for west L.A. and ease of access! The rooms, some of which were converted from apartment buildings, are spacious, super- clean, well appointed and comfortable. There is a small outdoor pool area at the rear of the complex .The manager, Fred, is ever-attentive, helpful and kind, and goes out of his way to help us (and others!) solve any travel issues that come up. The valets are very caring/welcoming, and have helped me unasked with luggage during my severe ankle injury recuperation. The complimentary breakfast is thoughtful and varied, and has a good balance of protein options as well as something for most dietary needs. My husband and I enjoy sharing breakfast with the mix of visitors from all over the world, and the relaxed lobby atmosphere. Great for families as well as couples or solo travelers!!
I liked the hotel and a gym is a must foe me. However, the location of this hotels gym is in a very secluded space. I was not comfotrtable going down there by myself. The manager was very friendly and engaing theother staff not so much. .
I would give this hotel a 1 because the room is very outdated, carpet extremely old and dirty. TV was very old too. The bathroom was VERY small. It was a 10x4 room. Yes 10x4 feet!!! the toilet in one end the shower in the other, and the sink in the middle. There was no space to do much. To use the sink we needed to have the bathroom door opened. In addition, they charged $17 in parking, and valet parking was required, not because it's fancy, but because it would be impossible to park otherwise. That said, the staff is nice, and the breakfast was good.
This is an excellent hotel for the area. Believe it or not very quiet considering near the busiest intersection in America. Ask for a room on the back side that will be much quieter. Breakfast was not bad. Hot tub was not working so they heated the pool extra warm.
I travel often for business and have stayed at a variety of hotels in the greater LA area. The Best Western Royal Palace Inn & Suites offers a great value and location, central to several LA neighborhoods and within easy driving distance to Brentwood, Beverly Hills, etc. The room was spacious and clean, and the facility is well maintained, offering breakfast options, coffee, and a workout room (I believe there is also a pool/spa, but I did not use it). Most importantly, however, the customer service offered at this location really stood out and will be the primary reason I choose to return here whenever I travel to the area. Every staff member, from the valet to the front desk clerk to management and housecleaning staff, was so kind, caring, and attentive. As in any major city, you run into many different personalities when staying at different hotels, and I can honestly the people here are some of the best I have encountered. I will definitely be back
Rooms were unprepared and terribly dirty. First room assigned was complete mess. The next room assigned was equally messed up. Third room was better and was able to sleep there for my one night stay. I don't think the housekeeping staff over there does a good job. It was way below average to be given an unprepared untidy horrible room for 2 instances and then finally got a room worth sleeping just for one night. Not worth the price I paid.
The Best Western Royal Palace is clean comfortable and well run. Good customer service. Some rooms are a bit small but in a convenient location to public transportation. Overall the property is good value for the money.
A nice comfortable place to stay close to train to downtown LA, good restaurants a ten minute walk. Very good breakfast buffet with good coffee and soy milk. Unusually helpful and courteous front desk staff- eager to help with luggage, explain how to get around LA. Good space in the rooms with the extra den with pull out sofa and TV. For the price, a very good value by LA standards.
Fred and the staff there were so helpful to my elderly mother-in-law when she was displaced from her house by a broken water pipe. Everyone there was so courteous and helpful, making her feel very welcome at her "home away from home" for a month. The breakfast was a great way to start the day, and the valets went out of their way to help her park her car. The facility is modern and exceptionally clean. The location was perfect: easy access to the 10 and 405 freeways, near a CVS pharmacy, Vons, Trader Joe's, lots of restaurants, and even walking distance to the Metro E-line Expo/Sepulveda station. Would definitely stay again!
We stayed at the Best Western Royal Palace and Inn for a week with our three teenage children. That makes for 5 people in one room - great to have the additional room area with the fold out couch, and also the mini outdoor patio area. Though the bathroom quite small it didn't pose any concerns as had all the amenities needed. The room was thoroughly cleaned each day while we were out being tourists. Great to come back to after long outings in Los Angeles. The complimentary breakfast made eating easy, along with the nearby takeaways and supermarket. Car valet a bonus option for us. Fred and his team were very friendly and helpful. The greatest thing to us with this hotel was the on-site laundry at just $1.50 a wash and $1 for the drier. Anyone with children travelling would welcome this amenity - made our life a lot easier having clean clothes each day. In hindsight we would stay again for sure.
we stayed there for 1 week and we loved everything about the hotel. The good thing is that its not far from lax airport. They know how to treat with their guest. Jacuzzi and heated pool was great.Would love to stay their again.
Great stay booked with best Western rewards acct and room was upgraded at check in. For free to an exceptionally large and spacious room with a balcony.but overall it was quiet clean updated spacious and upscale room respectful and helpful staff good work the attention to detail caught my attention I tip my hat to you.
All the employees are so friendly, from the valet guy's, front desk and housekeeper department. I haved a great time stayed at that place. I will be back another time and i will stay over there again. I'm to recommend you guy's witw my friends.
Older hotel, but well maintained. Excellent location for appointments at UCLA. Close to restaurants and valet jparking made easy "in and out". Employees were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the seperate sitting area to relax and watch TV..
This hotel is clean and welcoming and very well situated for the metro to Santa Monica and downtown LA. Rooms are basic but enough. Breakfast was included and was delicious, especially the yoghurt machine and pancakes. The staff were friendly and helpful with any questions we had, especially Fred who always said hello and ensured we were happy with the room.
Everyone is friendly and helpful. The accessible room we stay in meets my husbands needs. Breakfasts offer variety and freshness. On the many occasions that we visit family in Los Angeles, this is where we always choose to stay.
The room was nice and the employees were always very helpful. Parking and getting in and out of the Motel was another story. Do not try to turn left into the facility this is not safe. They do charge $25 per night to park your car which is crazy for a Motel. Other than that this is a good place to stay if you have business in Santa the Santa Monica area. Breakfast was just another Best Western breakfast.
Stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay, our room was a suite with a jet/spa bath plus a walk in shower in a very large bathroom the bath was very large, comfortable and easy to get in and out of which helped as I had hurt my back. The bed was comfortable with TV and with a seperate lounge area with a TV and a sofa which folded to a double bed we had a lot of space. The staff are good, especially Fred on the front desk who helped with booking and recommending restaurants etc. breakfast was sufficient with good coffee and really great juice. The hotel is in a good location with a lot of restaurants and bars nearby and shops for essentials a 5 min walk down the road and with onsite valet parking at a reasonable price I would recommend staying here
Best Western Royal Palace Inn is a gem of a place. The staff is exceedingly courteous and accommodating, the rooms quiet, spacious, and amply appointed, the location within good proximity to all of West L.A.,and the price unbeatable
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Rooms were clean & well kept, beds were comfortable.Nice selection of breakfast items. Staff was very friendly & helpful—especially Fred, who we had most of our interactions with. It was in a good location for our needs.
Came into town to spend Thanksgiving with my son who attends UCLA. This property is an easy drive to campus and centrally located to everything we needed. This property is impressive. The room had all the amenities of a higher end hotel- spacious, super comfy beds, good towels, and attentive details. I have stayed at several properties around UCLA, and this is hands down my new go-to hotel!
I have been staying here over the past five years when I visit family in West LA. Fred at the front desk always treats me like a VIP—upgrades my room if he can, and this time left munchies and Perrier in the room as a welcome gift. The hotel is on busy Sepulveda but the excellent valets take care of the parking. This hotel is a jewel for the Best Western brand!
The staff is incredibly compassionate and makes you feel right at home. If something isn't right they take the time to correct it. I was only there 1 night however I will be back. The property is super close to UCLA medical center. I would suggest this property to anyone who has to come for medical visits. The breakfast is very fresh and the staff keeps it very clean.
This hotel sits in a very inconspicuous location. Driving by, no one would know that this is a hidden gem of a hotel. The staff is friendly, the grounds are clean, and the rooms are immaculate. What makes this a must stay is the location. It's in the middle of West LA, close to every conceivable So Cal attraction. I loved the manager. Great dude. Thank you!
I am in town for business and I have had the best experience with the staff. They have gone out of their way to help me with anything I need. The rooms are clean everyday and if I need anything I just have to ask. I cant say enough good things about this hotel.
We have been staying at the Best Western Royal Palace for years, since we visit family in LA regularly. The rooms are comfortable; the staff is extremely helpful; the breakfasts are above average; the pool, hot tub, and work out center are small but adequate. Location is very convenient, and prices are reasonable.
Having stayed here previously, I was disappointed with this recent stay. The hotel is in a good location which is the primary reason for staying there. However, we were placed in an annex building which was very odd. It is a separate neighboring building with 2 floors, no elevator and about 4 rooms on each floor. Although the the room itself was spacious, it was old and not updated. Paying over $200 for one night was not a good value. Breakfast was ok - the breakfast room is tight and the non-English speaking staff were very slow in filing items on the buffet. The entire stay left a lot to be desired. Location is the only positive.
The staff at the Best Western was very accommodating. It was a perfect location for us. Metro rail half block away with easy transportation to the Santa Monica pier. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast each day. As long as staff didn't change we would definitely stay there again.
This was our first time stay at Best Western in LA and we had very good expereice during the stay. Staff, amenities, breakfast , hospality, servises all were just excellent, We feel homely. General manager Fred was very helping and accomodative, prompt in service , help us with done early checking and responsive to all our queries. It was great stay and I can defenitely recommend BW Royal Palace to my friendsand relatives.
Our family stayed here for 3 nights. The staff were very helpful, and the rooms were older but large and clean. The location worked well for us, and we took advantage of the local light rail station. Breakfast was not fancy, but had a number of options to choose from. A good value overall.
BW was very accommodating. We travel with a service dog for my spouse, who also needs a tub for soaking. We had requested at the last minute online for a tub and they had prepared a wonderful room for us - which was the longest tub ever! Which is fantastic as we are tall people. The hotel mgr's were wonderful - especially Fred. We greatly appreciate all their help in making our stay relaxing and stress free.
The hotel is old and extremely outdated. However, the staff were most friendly and helpful in spite of what they have to work with. The rooms are old have a poor layout and you can hear the guests next door. The bathroom was very small and cramped -actually less than 30 square feet. For over $200 for the night I expected a whole lot more than this!
The location is very close to Expoline metro and 99cent store where you can buy snacks or drinks. The hotel is very good for our family (3 children + 2 adults). We like the swimming pool, the breakfast time and the free wifi. In addition, the staff of this hotel are nice and friendly.
Stop here for two nights in Santa Monica. location is ok, not in the heart of the place but not in crowded place too. Parking is available but cost. I was given with free parking due to issue with my room which was fixed immediately. all in all - good choice.
Had a suite that was large and roomy. Room had a microwave and refrig and 2 TV's. Good location just a few miles from ucla. Close proximity to food and grocery stores and trader Joe's. Parking was $18/day. Free breakfast included. There's also one washer dryer on premise. Would stay here again for the convenience.
We stayed here for 6 nights. Overall I thought this hotel was looking a little tired, it could do with a lick of paint and new carpets etc. The staff were all very polite and friendly and the rooms were a good size with coffee making facility's. Breakfast was included all though it was mainly just toast, cornflakes coffee and yogurt, there was scrambled eggs and some bacon but I only had this once as the eggs were always cold and the bacon was mainly burnt little hard strips. It is $18.00 a night for parking but you can park on the street outside for free which is what we did.
We want to thank the crew of the Best Western Royal Palace Inn & Suites for a unforgettable Stay, thank you for your help, for your support, for your kindness, for everything! It was a pleasure, we felt so welcome, it was like coming home! Everything was great, the breakfast, the room, the support, the service! Special warm regards to Odilio from Gabi and Hartmut from Germany! When we come back to LA, we well stay again with you!
I first stayed here in 2015 and had such a great stay I came back. I can't speak highly enough of the manager Fred. He is very helpful and friendly. In fact, all the staff we encountered were very accommodating. We were here during the earthquakes and all the staff were amazing. They are in walking distance to a train station and bus stops. They have large, clean rooms. A pool and spa. Not too far to the airport too, which means you're not paying a fortune in shuttles. You can just grab a taxi or an Uber. We will definitely be back
I would not return to that hotel. On a 2 week road trip across the US, it was the most expensive and least enjoyable place. The so called suites were a mush mash of roomed, the bedroom was tiny and the bathroom the smallest. The built in furniture next to the bed was missing (there was a hole in the wall) the room smelt of stale urine and the shower on my mothers room did not work at all. The reception staff did not have authority to help deal with the issues and the manager did not call, as promised, until we chased him up.
Exeptional polite service. The people at the reception desk took care of problems or request very fast and very well. Breakfast is very good and there are many selections. The room is spotlessly clean.!
All staff were friendly and courteous. Complementary breakfast offered several hot or cold options making for a good start to the day. Staff responded promptly and resolved a couple issues we reported. Bathrooms are small. We enjoyed our stay.
The room was spacey and clean. The kids enjoyed the pools (one hot pool). They were also clean. The straff was nice and helpful. The breakfast was very american with plastic cups, cutlery, paperplates and no veggies. The scrambled eggs were good though and there was a panncake machine. The parking costs extra.
Greetings from Anita and Jukka westcoast Finland. We come home yesterday. vastly greetings to Fred (Mustang and more...) A lot of greeting all you people. It was wonderfull california travel to us.we recommend Royal Palace to our frends. p.s if you come to finland i want help you.
Being a block away from a train station down to Santa Monica pier, or the other way to dtla was very convenient. Train station has bike path, bike and rental scooters you can activate via an app, I scootered down the bike path more than once. Would stay again
The location cant be beat if you want access to the beach. It was about a 10 min drive and much better quality than most places on the beach. Fred at the front desk was super helpful and friendly! The valet service was great and again they were very friendly! Room was great and beds were comfy!
I am vising various location frequently for business. It's always my pleasure to stay in best western royal due to services, polite staff, helping to get the better services. I recommend my friends.!!
Good location, good breakfast, very good service. The only thing is the noise that could be improved (noise of pipes and freeway). If you're on a budget I would recommend this hotel for its location and service.
I wrote a horrible review and it didnt even show up! They filter them so they look better! Ha Do NOT stay here had to sleep on floor bed was so bad. Couldn't sit on couch. Sat on floor in front of couch! Couldn't eat their breakfast due to dietary restrictions. And my bill was almost $100 more than quoted and there was nothing I could do about it! And my car was filthy when I got it back last day from valet! I had to clean bathroom!
I was travelling with my family and had planned on staying here for three nights. On the morning after the first night, I was horrified to find bed bugs in my bed. We reported this right away to the front desk and immediately checked out. Also, the air conditioner noise was extremely loud and hard to sleep because of it. I do not recommend this hotel. Very disappointed in Best Western.
Great place to stay in LA. Convenient friendly good rooms pool and hot tub. Restaurants near by. Breakfast is actually good. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Near new rapid transit. No complaints about this place.
Very very noisy hotel ext to a highway. We also had a major leak coming from the room above us that prevented us from sleeping. The dripping noise is the most uncomfortable feeling when you try to sleep. When we needed the toilet we would have to avoid the drips. We told the staff but they said we would have to wait to change rooms. The worst hotel on our American trip by far.
We stayed at this hotel March 9 & 10, 2019 while visiting family in Santa Monica. We booked two nights here before heading to Anaheim for 4 days at Disney. We initially wanted a room near the beach/pier, but at $350US per night (at least), we weren't willing to blow our budget. We had Air Miles to use up, so we booked both nights using our miles and only paid $70CDN in fees total, which seemed very reasonable for us. When I priced it up, it was coming in around $210 US per night for our dates, but the rates seem to fluctuate depending on time of year. I was concerned initially, because we normally we stay in 4 star hotels +, and this seemed very basic. I have to say, we were pleasantly surprised! The hallways and carpet looked liked they needed some updating, but there was some paint-in-progress work going on while we were there. The room we had was updated though and everything was super clean. VERY comfy beds (we wished we had these beds all through our stay in Anaheim), and we really liked that there was a separate sitting room where we could watch TV after we put our young kids to bed at night. We didn't have a car until the morning we left, but the hotel was close distance to where our family lived (21st & Pico). They picked us up and toured us around, but from what we could tell, the location seemed great with a train or tram station just a block or two away, to go into Santa Monica or LA. There was not much within walking distance for restaurants or coffee shops...but it was a really short drive away if you had a car. We ordered pizza for delivery from "Classic Pizza" in Santa Monica, and it was so good! Drove to Vons to grab wine too. The breakfast was basic, but it was FREE and got us going in the morning. Everything you would expect...eggs, sausage patties, muffins, pancake machine, bagels, yogurt, granola, fruit, cereal, coffee, etc. We absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED the "farm fresh yogurt" dispensing machine. It was thick and creamy like a greek yogurt, but with a hint of sweetness, and it came out in the shape of swirly ice-cream. I have never seen one of these in a hotel before! This was a real highlight -- we all loved this and added fruit and granola. Delish! If we weren't visiting family and were on our own, I would have likely preferred to be closer to the beach/restaurants/etc. for convenience because we have two small kids and it's a pain to get in the car anytime you want to go somewhere. But we were not at the hotel often, and were being toured around by family, so this fit the bill for our needs and worked out really well. I would 100% stay here again and have since recommended it to others who wanted a budget-friendly, comfy, clean place to stay in Santa Monica. **Had a great meal at Lares (Mexican) in Santa Monica - authentic Mexican spot frequented by the locals. Highly recommend it. Amazing food and even better margaritas!*
This Review will remain until Fred gives me my points back! ****DO NOT STAY IN ROOM #151 in the 2nd building and ROOM #252 in the 3rd building! Trust me, you will not be happy. This Hotel and it's Management clearly has a problem with receiving rewards points as payment for the rooms. Paying with BEST WESTERN REWARD POINTS you will be given a choice between the 2nd rate rooms/the worst rooms in the hotel because you paid with points and management will make sure to throw it in your face that you paid with points! If this hotel has such a problem with REWARD POINTS WHY TAKE 28,000 of my points? From what I understand you still received revenue for those points! Rude & Terrible Customer Service. I've stayed at this hotel a few times and the times I've paid with credit card no problems were given to me by Fred or Celeste and the rooms were fine. Fred lied to Customer Relations about resolving the issue he lied and said he offered me points when he did not, this says a lot about Management and their integrity. If Fred had offered me points I would have taken the points. Fred never let me tell him what happened and kept disregarding when I tried to by interrupting me with things that are not of any benefit to me for having such a miserable sleepless night, Fred should have given my points back! He offered me to checkout at 1:30PM ONLY BECAUSE he said he knew I did not get any sleep and he understood I was cranky. I'm certain other guests who have stay in that same room before have complained so it was no surprise to him that I was complaining about the room as well. When I called the Hotel to speak to Fred for a third time, I asked him to please return my points and AGAIN he disregarded me and blow me off, he said he needed to speak to owners about giving me my points back and that the owners were not available attending a board meeting then he rudely cut me off and hung up in my face! I was wondering why Celeste kept giving me the rooms located directly underneath the stairs in the same corner in each of the 2 additional other buildings, well it's because the rooms are located right underneath the stairs and it is super loud! All I hear is the front door being slammed open and close and stomping up and down the stairs! I knew there was something up when I noticed she kept giving me the rooms located in the same corner just in a different building. I even asked her, if there was a reason why, she said no, well at 8:30PM now I know the reason why, because a guest will not realize how loud it is in this room unless they sit here for a couple hours, She initially gave me a room with just a shower, I asked her if I could please have a room with a tub, every time I stay in this hotel I always end up with a room that has no tub, she said that I only had those two room choices because I asked for a room with a tub? Really? So coincidentally the only 2 rooms out of your rooms that have a tub are located underneath the stairs? So you mean to tell me those are the only two rooms out of all the rooms that come with a tub??? Only 2 tubs in all 3 of the buildings??? She always gives me the worst rooms! No one else does this when I check-in except her. The guys that have checked me in to the rooms in the past always give me great rooms, I don't end up switching, only when she checks me in I end switching once or twice every time, she intentionally gives me the rooms she knows people/guests are going to have a problem with? I don't get it. She's nice only because she knew I wouldn't realize the room located underneath the stairs, by the front door would be a problem until the night progressed, it's not because I asked for a room with a tub. I knew not to trust her. She always gives me a problem every time I check-in in the day time when she's here, other times I've arrived later at night on purpose when I know she won't be at the front desk just to avoid exactly this. Celeste knew what she was doing when she kept giving me the rooms right underneath the stairs on purpose. She pretends to be nice but I don't think it's nice that she misleads guests. She knows her intention was not nice at all to put me right underneath the stairs and by the front door it is so loud from the other guests coming in and out and all I hear is stomping from upstairs and doors being slammed. I've stayed in other rooms in this hotel and none were this bad! Room #151 You will not be able to sleep! All day and night you will hear the front door being slammed open and closed and the stomping up and down the stairs the whole time! You will hear everything the people in the other rooms are talking about, very clearly and loud, the room upstairs and the room right next to you so it's triple the noise along with the front door being slammed and the stomping up and down the stairs. Overall, terrible experience. Fred made it worst by lying to Customer Relations. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!
My wife and I stayed at the Royal Palace for a week in early April 2019. It was centrally located to our family we were visiting. We enjoyed the hot tub and the pool. The room was very well suited to our use and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and the staff was very friendly There is a $17 per night charge for parking. Ron and Loraine Baker
Great quiet sleep, easy casual breakfast with many choices, terrific pleasant helpful staff, easy in and out with a very efficient parking staff. Well located to go anywhere. (And I have stayed at this hotel more than 10 times)
In retrospect I can not imagine why I thought for even a moment that The indication "Royal Palace" actually meant something, as there is absolutely nothing regal or palatial about this hotel. Indeed it was the smallest room in a Best Western of the 5 or 6 we stayed in the last 10 days. The 'lobby' shares the breakfast space. That's it. Pretty regal and palatial... Room was quite clean and OK, breakfast was quite average. When we arrived reception desk was unattended, and remained that way for 5 minutes. Hotel has valet parking only at $17/night + tax, which it would have been nice to know in advance.
This is a gem of a hotel and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The entire staff is very customer focused, and cannot do enough to make your stay the best ever. A great free breakfast is included, there is a business center, and the rooms are large and very, very clean. It was easy to get to Santa Monica and Los Angeles on the Expo Line. You could not make a better choice when staying in the Santa Monica/Los Angeles area.
The staff is friendly and welcoming. It is a smaller hotel which feels like home. The great location provides easy access to I-405 and I-10, and is 1/2 block from the metro which is a quick ride to Santa Monica Pier!
Stayed 2 nights. Fred (the assistant general manager) was incredibly accomodating and friendly. Allowing us to check in early (after our long flight from Australia) and checkout late to give us a base until our outbound flight. Breakfasts were delish with a wide range to choose from. Would definitely recommend. Mike
Usually BW properties have a pretty good standard, so I expected that, but I liked this one even more. The room was really large, and very clean. Nice linens on the bed and in the bath. The breakfast had a nice variety - sliced meats, cheese, fried eggs, pancakes - and was pretty tasty. The staff was on top of it and friendly. Only call outs - parking is $17 which I didn't realize as I hadn't done my homework (but was able to find street parking both times), and the room upstairs had a really squeaky floor. Good location too, but not much in the neighborhood for walking distance to restaurants, etc.
Finding a suitable, convenient, relatively inexpensive hotel in West LA is not easy. This was our second stay and works beautifully for us. They do a very nice job, rooms are nicely furnished, clean, and staff is very friendly.
Good hotel. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Hotel and room were clean. Bathroom was small suite was large. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Traffic right in front of hotel busy, hard to see to get out due to cars parked on street. Valet well worth it.
I spent 6 nights here & choose it because reviews said it was a good base to travel by public transport as both the Metro Rail (Expo/Sepulveda) & the hourly bus to the Getty museum are 5 mins away. Buy a TAP card for Metro Rail & Metro Buses. Check travel times on Rome2Rio website & remember to check opening times of places you visit. To get to the Getty Museum take the 734 Mon-Fri or the 234 Sat & Sun. To get to the Getty Villa take the Metro Rail to Downtown Santa Monica then the hourly bus 534 along the coast to the Villa. To get to LACMA & the amazing La Brea Tar Pits & the associated Page Museum, take the MetroRail to La Cienega/Jefferson station & then bus 217. This bus will also take you to Hollywood. I used the Metro Rail system & buses to visit almost everything in the Top10 Highlights in the Eyewitness Travel. The only place where you have to use your feet or an Uber is the Huntingdon. I also went to Downtown Long Beach by MetroRail & free bus to see the Queen Mary.& was VERY disappointed. Save your money & don't book a tour unless you check that the Art Deco Large reception rooms & the cabins are available to view. When I went they had all been booked for private functions. Not even 1 cabin was available to view. Have a great time. The hotel staff are really lovely.
Friendly people, great services pool and jacuzzi. Nice we loved it. We have a nice room with separate bedrooms. Valet service is available 24 hours a day. I like the area, close to another stores , i wil stay there again.
Had the best time great hotel and staff. With metro line right there I was able to get to offices and downtown LA and the beaches. Very ideal to get everywhere without the traffic. Highly recommend this as a getaway.
I was travelling on business and needed a good place to rest my head. This Best Western fits the bill. Good location not far from the 405 freeway and right next to a LA Metro station if you're taking light rail during your LA visit.
The Best Western Royal Palace Inn and Suites was a great value for my husband and me while in Los Angeles. We easily drove to the Santa Monica pier, the Getty Center, and to the Petersen Museum. In addition, it was a short drive to LAX when we had to meet family members joining us. Be prepared for a fee if using the hotel's valet parking. We opted to keep our car on the street which worked out fine. We were grateful for the value, the service, and the comfort while staying here. If you're looking for the Taj Mahal in looks or ambiance, you should go elsewhere, but if you want a safe and comfortable place to stay while you do things in Los Angeles, this hotel will suit you just fine.
Your location is too good and room is also too good , i am really like your services and all of them......make sure my next visit i stay in this hotel............... really i enjoy to much...... and , Staff was friendly and helpful. i suggest my all friend to stay in this hotel.....
Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Fred was great at checkout very helpful, and the night auditor at check in i forgot his name was also! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. Location of the hotel makes everything very convenient. Breakfast was good, housekeeping service too, and especially the gentlemens doing valley parking!
Stayed here during Labor Day weekend trip to LA. Good location - close to Santa Monica/ Beverly Hills. Easy access to freeways to visit other places in LA Standard continental breakfast. Valet Parking 20 dollars per day
The Royal Palace is not far from the heart of downtown and allows easy access to central Los Angeles, Westwood, and Century City areas. The rooms are spacious with an additional nice sitting area inside and a balcony outside. The offer a breakfast every morning which has quite a varied selection. The pool is not a lap pool and the fitness room is not quite what you expect from a fitness room but they are there for use. I thought the staff were most gracious and always greeted me with a smile or were willing to assist in some way. It was a very nice location to stay.
Stayed at quite a few BW on Route 66. Price here was good for the area (though double others on Route 66), front desk staff friendly and helpful. One of the best breakfasts on our trip. Pay $20 for parking, it's worth it - mostly no street parking, lots of red (no parking) zones very hard to distinguish at night. Hotel is in more than one building; we were in the next one over (only a few steps away), 2 floors, no elevator. Driveway is in front of the main entrance, with parking for one car checking in and one on the sidewalk.
First, it's safe. Second, the room and bathroom were both decent size. Third, staff was very nice and helpful (quite refreshing in LA). Fourth, breakfast was good, definitely above average as far as hotel breakfasts go. Fifth, I loved the valet and not having to deal with the car (yes, $20 a day, but it's LA so parking is what it is, just pay it and enjoy the valet service). Only drawback is there isn't an elevator so if you have mobility issues, elderly, small kids, etc either don't stay here or make sure you're getting a first floor room. Also, great location and close to major roads to get anywhere you want to go. Overall, I definitely recommend staying here.
Had a decent stay; stayed for 5 nights. Parking is at a premium in LA and the hotel is no different. $20 a night on top of the hotel bill seems too high. Maybe for valet but not self parking. Very small and not built for tall people. Ramp is dangerous. The hotel is quaint and was quiet. Housekeeping comes very late in the day for stay overs (after 3pm). Shower door Sunday shut without seriously forcing it. Enjoyed the sitting room and the small balcony. Room service (from outside restaurant-they bring food in) was delicious. Good location except you can't see we'll to pull out onto main road and traffic is moving pretty quickly. All in all was average.
A large group of us stayed in this hotel. We had two suites and two regular rooms. First the positives -- the staff as others have mentioned are very nice and helpful. The breakfast is good. The location is great. Housekeeping did a good job of keeping the room clean. The REGULAR rooms had a decent size bathroom and the bedroom was also adequate. Now the negatives. Valet parking is expensive at $20 per night. No other safe parking options are available. The motel is off a busy street. The suites while spacious had a bathroom that measured a total of approx 3 1/2 feet by 8 feet. The shower was extremely tiny, the basin was up against the shower and so there was about a one foot entry into the shower. I am a small person, but I felt extremely claustrophobic with the door closed. The suite had two rooms but only one window a/c unit in one of the rooms. So, if you plan to close the door to say the second room and use the sofa bed, you will not have a/c. Some of the suites have the a/c in the second room and some in the main room. The a/c is noisy. The motel is old and the carpets appear quite dirty. Despite the few positives and the convenient location I doubt we will ever stay here again.
we fly for 15 hours coming from australia arrived to best western 9am and people are still having breakfast and checking out. We understand room not ready so it was like would you and wife want to have breakfast??? We declined offer as we had other plans. (hopefully without luggage) was happy to store luggage while we done other business while waiting for room to be ready. Fred your amazing person god bless
My family of four stayed at this hotel August 16th through the 20th. I have absolutely no complaints. It was a short drive from the LAX airport and pretty well centered around everywhere we wanted to travel to from Malibu, Venice, Anaheim, Riverside, Hollywood, etc. I would definitely stay here again as they had a nice complimentary breakfast, pool, hot tub and fitness center. Everyone was friendly and hardworking to meet our needs from the housekeepers to the front desk to the valets. Thumbs up.
For those of you who have stayed at BW hotels, you know they can differ between being modern to older and half-assed remodeled. This is an older hotel but the rooms have been remodeled - a bit. My room was tidy, although it smelled a bit of smoke. I travel for business, so appreciate USBs bedside, room service, etc. No room service; however, I was given a menu for a local restaurant that delivers. Menu items looked just ok. I use the app Door Dash, they will deliver directly to your room. The gentleman, who may have been the manager and who checked me in, was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. The lobby is small, so it can become crowded if there are more than a couple of guests waiting to check in. No coffee offered in the lobby. There is not a pool, rather a large sized hot tub in a small space surrounded by a few tables. The continental breakfast that is provided is on the 2nd floor in between hotel rooms. It may have been a room at one time, as it is small and was very crowded and HOT. Typical hotel buffet food was offered - waffles, yogurt, fruit, coffee, eggs. If I had waited to try and grab a bite, I would have been late for my meeting. However, there is a Starbuck's next door, so this was a nice option. Ralph's grocery store, shops, and restaurants are close by - easy to walk to if you don't have a car. This is a very busy intersection, so lots of cars all hours. Be cautious when walking. I had no real issues with this hotel; however, I probably won't stay here again.
Stayed here for ten days with my son. Our room was huge and spotlessly clean. Excellent cleaning every day. Good breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. We got help to book tickets for Universal Studios and LA galaxy soccer game. Location is perfect near a Metro station, so we could take the metro to Santa Monica beach, Hollywood with Walk of Fame, Griffith Park, Universal Studios and StubHub stadium. No need for us to rent a car. The metro took us everywhere we wanted to go. We had a wonderful stay. Special thanks to Fred who answered our email with questions before we arrived.
I booked this location months ago and I thought I had cancelled my reservation. When I tried to explain my situation to the location over the phone, I felt that I was given the run around over the phone to resolve the issue with the charge. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told that there was no manager there at the time. When I asked why there was no manager there at the time, I told them that I would call back the next day. I was told that the manager would not be in the next day. Your customer service leaves a lot to be desired. For this reason, I will switch companies to work with. I recently had a wonderful experience with Holiday Inn and will probably choose them in the future.
Spend 3 nights here recently. Rooms are a good size with a couch that can be converted to a bed. Breakfast is plentiful and the pancake machine makes yummy pancakes. The parking is tight but they park the car for you so it works well. Staff go out of there way to make you comfortable. They are more then happy to accomodate any special needs for breakfast requirements. The rooms and common Reas are left spotless. Next time I am is LA I will definitely stay here again
The staff is very friendly and quick to ask if you need anything. The place is very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great, just like if you were at home. I had the best experience at this location.
BW member. $20 parking. Booked months in advance, indicated a free parking. We had to pay $20 per day. Located on a very busy street. Exiting the hotel on the busy street by car is almost impossible. Bathroom too small. Try getting into the shower....I barely slept at night due to noise from the street. The windows do not block the noise. 1st day we arrived late and walked to find a restaurant. I was shocked how many homeless and mentally ill people were in the area. The hotel is very close to Metro transit that will take you either to the beach or downtown. The breakfast lady (forgot her name. She also spoke Spanish, had her hair tied, slim figure). I hope you're paying her well as she works very hard and is very nice to guests. The staff at reception is ok as well. The room was ok if you don't count the bathroom.
Use caution!!! Reviews very positive but hotel was terrible!! Bathroom was too small for even one person. Shower small and only curtain that was not equipt to contain water floor floods. Unable to easily access car. We will never stay again!!!
They charge $20 for parking otherwise you have to find parking on the street on Sepulveda Boulevard which is a very busy street or side streets and there's a lot of Riff Raff walking around so if you're coming back late at night and a woman it's a little bit worrisome
At $250/n you'd expect something a bit better. The air conditioner is the old style that with knobs instead of a thermostat so you can't control the temperature. The bathroom's odd shape makes it hard to use the toilet. The runners in the tub floor are peeling. The wall outlets are jacked up. They use the super cheap shampoo and soap company. No laundry room. Parking is $20/n and they didn't even ask for a license plate or offer a sticker. How on earth can they validate I actually am parking a car? I should've said no car at the desk, they'd never know. No recognition of my Diamond Select status at the desk. This may be a great location, but that's all your buying here. This is a $100 hotel at best. It's not a plus, it's not a premiere.
The room is pretty sweet. It has a big storeroom that we can put all our bags in it. It also has a separate living room so that my coworker and I can work in different rooms and do not disturb each other. The room also has a balcony that we can sit and enjoy the weather. Our room is facing the road. It is a little bit noisy in the night since the street is busy. But it is not a problem for my coworker and me. If someone needs an absolute quiet sleep environment, they may want to ask for a room on the other side of the hotel. Also, the bathroom is kind of small and narrow. The breakfast is another highlight. The hotel provides both hot and cold food, such as scrambled eggs, fried bacon, pancake, bread, yogurt. I lived there for three nights, and every morning I can find something new to eat. By the way, their lobby is small and crowded, and you may want to bring the food back to your room.
We were in the LA area for four night and wanted a decent place to stay without breaking the bank. This Best Western was great. It's about half way between West Hollywood and Venice beach - striking distance to everything. Plus the area of Sawtelle had some good restaurants. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good. Everything was clean and it wasn't too noisy. It's not the fanciest place, but much better than adequate. A good option to save some cash for activities around LA.
Easy to reserve on-line and easy check-in. Our king room was spacious, bed was comfortable. Mini fridge and one cup coffee maker. Nice bathroom with fluffy towels & toiletries. Included breakfast offered with usual, with eggs/sausage/make your own pancakes. Stayed here pre-op (UCLA) and ate at the Grub Brew Co on Pico Blvd. Highly recommend hotel and restaurant!
We spent 7 days at this location and we were very impressed with the friendly staff, clean rooms, and the daily breakfast. The location was very nice and in a safe area. The train was just a block down and we rode it for $1.50 to Santa Monica Pier. I will stay here again and highly recommend it for your stay in LA.
Staff was very friendly, hotel was clean, room was large and breakfast was great! Stayed there 3 nights and as we traveled throughout CA and NV we stayed in 5 other motels and the did not compare to this one!
Accomodating, comfortable and relaxing. Felt super safe in the first floor. Valet parking is a little extra but worth it. Fred, the Assistant Manager took great care of me from the very start. Hot tub, pool and breakfast also wonderful. Loved my stay. Will be back! Thank you.
Im a Best Western memeber and this one u have to avoid the only good thing is the breakfast they will make u pay for parking even if u show them ur reservations say free parking and no good views and staff will lie to u
We had to travel to UCLA for a surgery and this hotel was great! They helped us with an early check-in since we were finished at UCLA earlier than expected. Very friendly staff and the room was great - especially for the price in this area. A little bit of road noise and the bathroom was kind of small, but for our needs - this hotel far exceeded our expectations! We will be staying again.
Stayed in this Hotel on our trip to Los Angeles and loved it! Great location in West Los Angeles close to our family, but also just a block from the light rail line so very easy to get other places as well. The hotel is lovely and the king size room we had was spacious, clean and very smartly decorated. Breakfast each morning was well stocked and delicious. The staff here are gracious and attentive to your needs. Will for sure be back the next time we are in the area!
Great location right off the 405. Easy to get around. Suite was very comfortable and roomy. House keeping did a very good job in room cleaning daily. Would stay here again! Breakfast had quite a few items however ability to make own waffles was missing. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Hotel is always nice and friendly staff. Comfortable. I prefer central air then the window unit but it works. Breakfast was great, hot tub was great and I love the location as it is near my grandmother.
After two and a half weeks driving the entire Route 66 The Best Western Royal Palace provided a great place to wind down. Staff and amenities were of a very high standard and nothing was too much trouble for them.
I had reserved 3 nights to attend a business class and it turns out the class was rescheduled and therefore I had to cancel 2 nights. The staff accommodated this request and I was pleased and so was my company management. I would not hesitate to reserve in the future at this location. Thanks
This is an excellent hotel with an great location and a very attentive, friendly and helpful staff, They provide great, first rate amenities as well as breakfast and pool. The facility is very well maintained.
This is a very low key Best Western on Sepulveda with clean, quiet and comfortable rooms. The entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They make check in and check out very easy. The internet works well and the breakfast is excellent.
We were grateful to find a reasonably priced suite where we could easily access LA - from Hollywood to Santa Monica to Downtown - and save money with a great breakfast, our own food in the fridge, and a dip in the hot tub at the end of the day. The staff went above and beyond, helping us keep surfboards in a storage room, so we didn't have to worry about them on our car's roof while we toured the city.
This is hotel was great.. the rooms are alittle small but the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms are ok. The staff workers are very nice and made sure our rooms were cleaned. Fred at the front desk was very sweet, polite and nice. The free complimentary B.B. was great we enjoyed it. Parking you have to pay 20 dollars a night for 24hrs so that was ok too. It was our first time here in California and we enjoyed every minute of it. This inn is close to everything. Oh yea the pool is kinda small but it's ok If u wanna just dip in and catch a tan, we couldn't enjoy it cuz it wasn't that hot . Last but not least don't park in the red zone you will get a major ticket. Overall it was a nice place to stay at.
The hotel is clean and staff was friendly and efficient. The hotel is older so the rooms are an odd layout and you can hear other guests quite a bit. People did seem to settle down to sleep at a reasonable hour. The bathroom is tiny. A person of larger stature may have a hard time squeezing between the sink and shower opening. The water pressure was low and water alternated between hot and cold. Location and staff would make me consider this hotel as an option if i needed to return to ucla. Overall, decent.
Great location on Sepulveda near the Metro station with access to all of LA. The hotel room was spacious and the breakfast was nice. There is plenty of parking on the street. But the best thing about this hotel is the fantastic staff, especially Fred who helped us out a great deal. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Good central location to Santa Monica, Hollywood, and Beverly Hills. Downside is only free parking is on street. Valet is $20/day. Breakfast is ok. Does have pool and hot tub. Area seems decent, but is older.
Comfy beds and well maintained interior Clean exterior and fast valet $20 a day Great free breakfast with a good variety between hot/cold choices Staff is super friendly Close to freeway and shopping mall
The hotel has a small hotel feel. I liked the location. It is near all the L.A attractions we were there to see: Hollywood, Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, and Beverly Hills. Breakfast was great and they had complementary coffee all day. The room is spacious with a small balcony and seating area. Downside is you have to pay for parking everyday. Which adds up to the total cost of your stay. So, if you think you're getting a good deal, add parking to that. Our bathroom's vent made an awful noise every time you turned it on. That was annoying. Hotel could use some updates, very old color scheme. Overall, I liked our stay. I would recommend to families passing through or taking in sights.
Family friendly pleasant environment Very helpful staff, good location for surroundings. I would definitely stay there again if I need to be in that area. I do think this part of the survey is way too long.
Hotel isn't bad for the price, but definitely could use an update. It blows my mind they spend money on a 24 hour valet, it must be an LA thing I guess. The stay was quite, it is close to lots of restaurants, and the room was clean. Service wasn't the quickest but they were very friendly and helpful. Overall, the hotel needs some serious updating but it decent for the price in LA.
Unenthusiastic and unhelpful staff, dark and disappointing rentals. One of those rooms where your heart sinks as soon as you enter the door. Very atypical of a Best Western. Only plus is the location is great, close to westside LA and adjacent to a metro station.
Good breakfast, convenient location and an outstanding employee named Fred. Everything else was a disappointment. The room was small, the bed uncomfortable and the bathroom in dire need of modernizing
I had a room with a sitting area attached and a balcony on the third floor facing S Sepulveda. First impressions were a musty smell in the room, although it was clean. It appears to have undergone a recent update, but there were some signs of disrepair like chips in the walls and the balcony felt like it would collapse if you walked close to the edge. There is also a severe lack of customer service. There is one man in particular (older, white, male) who is SO apathetic to all concerns; from the vending machine being broken when I tried to get a bottle of water, he essentially told me to drink from the tap in my room. I called again (from my personal cell phone because my room phone wasn't working) when my hall filled with noisy teenagers at 11:30pm running in and out of each other's rooms and yelling and laughing, he told me "they should settle down soon". The hot tub also didn't work, but when I saw the same man was at the desk I didn't even bother. It seems like this hotel is hanging on for dear life. Overall the room was functional and comfortable, and clean. But walls are paper thin and as I mentioned, customer service is non-existent. One perk is that it is very close to the Metro Expo line that will take you right into Santa Monica or DT LA. Neighborhood is crummy, but fine during the day, but I wouldn't walk alone at night.
This hotel is in a good location. A short drive away from Hollywood and the lovely Santa Monica! The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I do think the parking situation is a little OTT and I also think that when checkin in they should let you know that they will be charging the parking to the card you give as insurance. I would return to this hotel though as I was satisfied with my stay.
I had a very clean room, comfortable bed, nice quality toiletries, separate sitting TV area and a balcony. Microwave machine and the coffee maker were not working properly. But overall it was a very pleasant stay
I chose this place because I had an appointment close by the next morning and didn't want to pay too much for a hotel room. This BW is good, comfortable and clean with very pleasant staff but the location is incredibly noisy! Thank god for earplugs!
The staff is excellent and very friendly/helpful. The hotel is overall quite clean, comfortable and well equipped and conveniently located. A very good value compared to other hotels in the neighborhood. They have a good selection at breakfast. The only 2 negatives were the bathroom light has a noisy fan with it- so if you go to the bathroom at night -to turn on the light- wakes up your partner& the outdoor lock to our building was broken- not fixed in the 2 days I was there- felt unsafe- anyone could walk into the building from the street
We had a great time at this best western. The service was great and very accommodating. There's free breakfast, fast internet and a pool/jacuzzi :) There is 24hr valet parking, which makes you feel very safe and secure about your car and parking. Enjoy!
Overall close to an excellent rating for our stay. Enjoyed proximity to Metro station and Santa Monica, excellent breakfast arrangement and variety in a large comfy dining room. Mostly upgraded decor; our HVAC unit was old however. The bathroom was small and needed extra towel racks and a door hook. Loved having the extra sitting room and TV in the double queen suite along with a patio sitting area for two people. My biggest concern was the lack of disabled access to our room. There was no elevator access from the lobby and I had to climb 6 stairs to the second level where there was an elevator. I think they should just build a ramp from the lobby to the first split level.
Hotel is a 4mile drive to Santa Monica Pier. The lobby was surprisingly very nice. Front desk staff and valet were very friendly. Free continental breakfast was a plus. Room itself was well kept, good services all around. Its not the fanciest hotel, but it gets the job done. Would not expect anything more. Great value.
It's nice for your average business trip. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. There's free coffee and water by the front desk. The bed is comfortable and there is a business center even though everyone now travels with a personal business center. There's nothing much interesting close by but there is a Denny's, Target and CVS should you need them. It's not fancy, but if you're not looking for fancy, it gets the job done.
This hotel was clean with friendly staff. The location is very close to UCLA Ronald Reagan, our destination. The bed was comfortable. The parking is $12.00 a night, some street parking available. The breakfast was ok, too much starch for my liking.
The staff here are all very friendly and very kind! We had a large group block and the staff went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable. Nice clean rooms and they were very understanding with their cancellation policy!
Great friendly people excellent location great quality for the price have stayed there for the last 12 years The service is fantastic great breakfast quality beds comfortablecentrally located to hospitals and entertainment and business areas
This hotel is well located as it is very near to a metro station, only 15 minutes from the Santa Monica boardwalk via metro. It is also near UCLA student housing. The hotel was very clean and service pleasant. The breakfast was varied although the orange juice was horrible and the fruit kind of ancient. The bed was comfortable and the room large. Swimming pool is clean but very small. Parking is available for an extra fee and is guarded.
We had a great stay. The manager is awesome and will take care of any little issues right away. The hotel is located near the blue train line that takes you to Santa Monica and downtown, which makes it a great place for sightseeing. We had a fantastic experience overall.
I stayed at this Best Western hotel for the first time. At the check inn time the staff was very friendly, explained me every thing about the hotel and breakfast. Breakfast, was great( hot and cold) what ever you desire. My parents and had so many questions about the City?. All we wanted to see was right close by. Beverly hills, Rodeo drive for my mom. Beaches, for us. Venice, Santa Monica and Malibu. Everything is easy reach. They lots of recommendations for us to eat and explore. Thank you Best Western, my father says we will come again.
Very nice, kindness peaple, beautiful and spacious room, very good breakfast with a lot of food. Near the train station to Santa Monica and downtown LA with 1.75 $ and 1$ to bay a tap card, very cheap. We took the train to Santa Monica and after rented a bike at Santa Monica Bike Center we ride a splendid trail along the coast Giuliana and Carlo from Italy
I checked into the property expecting something very different. I guess I was used to the Best Westin Hotel chain; But it was very different. Was very basic and I would suggest that all travelers check the property website before booking it. Thank God there were a couple of restaurants in the vicinity. I would only use this property for a short sleep over.
It was a great stay minus the problem we had with the bed metal sticking out. My mom hit her shin against a metal frame and scraped her knee. But, overall the stay was great and hot breakfast was amazing and
excellent from a to z and than some.can not say enough about the staff and managmentt, you need anything consider it done in a pleasant and cheerful way.me and my spouse are there for medical reasons and its great to have no hassles.
Very pleased with our stay and enjoyed the breakfast each morning! They rotated sausage/scrambled eggs and bacon/cheese omelets daily along with other staple breakfast items. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Parking was ok but a tight squeeze for a small suv. We'll definitely stay here again!
This is my favorite place to stay on my visits to West L.A.due to its excellent value and location, strong staff/customer service,well-maintained rooms, and great location. The commitment of all staff members to providing top quality customer care is exemplary here.
This hotel is in a great location. Close to the Metro Rail which makes it easy to get to the beach, downtown L.A. and Hollywood. The breakfast was one of the best free breakfasts we had had. The staff, especially the front desk staff, was amazing.
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The staff will do what they can to make your time enjoyable. We arrived very early after an early flight into Los Angeles and were offered a complimentary breakfast while we waited for the room to be ready which was great after a long flight and generous of the staff. Booked a tour through the hotel; the process was easy and hassle free and it was a great Starline tour recommended by the hotel. Room is spacious, pristine and nicely appointed. One annoyance is the bathroom which has poor yellow lighting and a constant radiator noise while the light is on. 2 minute walk to the metro to Santa Monica or Downtown. To get to Hollywood you must change metros at 7th Street station. Uber/ride share needed for Beverly Hills. Decent location convenience-wise with a big supermarket a 10 minute walk away. Did not get a great impression of the area as there are many homeless individuals nearby and although they keep to themselves, I would not recommend walking around the area alone or at night. Buffet breakfast definitely enough to start the day and quite tasty :) The kindness of the staff was excellent and reassuring. The location was not a plus for me but I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Was in LA because our oldest sister was having a major operation that was set only 4 days before arriving. We had 4 sisters staying in the room, having the large room was so nice and we paid for parking which was great they would leave our car out front during the day as we were back and forth and they knew this and had no problem, Walter was the valet and he was wonderful taking luggage and bags back and forth to our room, Frank at the front desk was also wonderful always had ice ready for us when we came in as the ice machine was not working but was not a problem. The hot tub was nice and hot but the bubbles were not working but after a long day at the hospital on your feet it felt good. Beds were comfy even the hide a bed that I slept on was good. Our only issue was the bathroom was small and with 4 ladies getting ready in morning was a little difficult but had a mirror in bedroom overall great hotel and staff would not hesitate to stay there again and would recommend to anyone
Great stay and smooth check-in and check-out. Called to ask about early check-in and it wasn't a problem. Received an upgrade to a suite which was totally unexpected. Great service. Wonderful breakfast.
Stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time We got a great room with 2 double beds an a separate suite with a balcony that overlooked the road The breakfast was first rate and all the staff were helpful and friendly There is a laundry room for guests which we used , it worked fine The location is fine , we used the metro to get to Santa Monica, cost $3.50 return, it's only a 5 min walk from the hotel The area around the hotel is a little run down but safe enough to go out . We would definitely return and thanks to Fred and thomas for all their help
We were pleasantly surprised to find a reasonably priced hotel in a very expensive area. The exterior is nice, as well as the interior. It's better than most of the hotels of this type. The location is fantastic and very convenient to the freeway, beach and Metro. Be advised that there isn't an elevator, but the stairs are manageable.
First off I have to say that everyone we met from Walter, Celeste and Fred were all very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were a nice size and very clean. We did not have time for breakfast but it appeared that they had a nice assortment for a continental style breakfast. The rooms have WiFi internet, refrigerator, microwave and a coffee maker. The hotel is close to the 405 freeway and a short distance to UCLA. This appears to be an older hotel with some upgrades to make it more modern but the carpet and wallpaper need a makeover and the A/C unit and filter could use some upgrades. They do charge $12 for parking and valet is available.
The hotel's and parking attendant were considerate and helpful. The hotel has structural short-coming including small bathroom with the sink's edge intruding out making moving around very difficult. As trying to enter the shower, the sharp edge of the sink scratched my back causing bleeding. Getting to the third floor i had to take the steps to the second floor or walk around to the garage to take the elevator to the third floor.
We booked this hotel for our 10 years anniversary and the staff made sure everything was perfect. People who work there are nice and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and the menu was slightly different everyday (bacon & eggs, eggs and breakfast sausage, yogourt, pancakes, croissant, bagel, english muffin, fruits, etc.). It's the perfect location if you have a car (20 minutes from Santa Monica, 30 minutes from Universal Studios). We use the valet parking on the day of our arrival but afterwards, we parked on Sepulveda boulevard (there were always many spots left). We highly recommend this hotel!
I shouldn't give the Royal Palace such a high rating---it is an undiscovered jewel in West LA. Comfortable rooms--only downside is parking, but they have great valets and the charge is only $12 per day--and you can go in and out all day.
Excellent hotel with 2 room suites, comfortable, convenient, at a reasonable price, just off the 405 freeway near Westwood, West Los Angeles and Santa Monica. I would highly recommend this hotel for families, or business travelers needing a little more room. The only draw back is the bathrooms are small. Parking is available at $12/day with valet service.
I booked this hotel mainly for it's location and the great reviews. The hotel lived up to it's reviews; the staff is particularly good, especially Fred at the Front Desk. The reviews praising him were right on! the room was fine, the bed was comfortable, the cleaning folks did a nice job, and the parking people went above and beyond! The hotel is on a very busy, noisy street, but the room was quiet. It was a wonderful experience!!
I always stay at this hotel when visiting LA. The facility is always clean and the staff is always available to help out. Fred at the front desk is superb; he greets you with a smile and makes your visit very enjoyable and stress free.
I thought the hotel was excellent for the price. It had clean rooms. It offered a good breakfast. It provided a courteous and helpful staff. I had a clean room. The hotel provided a good location for me.
If you have no other choice but to stay in Los Angeles, this is the place for you! The motel is so quiet, hard to believe, but true. We heard absolutely no noise when we were in our room. The bed was comfortable as well. As a matter of fact, this is the quietest hotel we have ever stayed in. All of the employees were very friendly, and went out of their way to please. Great people. Their parking is terrible. It is underneath the building and is a very tight squeeze. Do not use it if you are in a large car. We were fortunate to find parking on the street at night. There are not many choices for breakfast, pool is small and a lot of bumper to bumper traffic out front. But...... this is still the motel for us, due to the quiet and comfy bed.
On the way to security check at the airport I received a call saying my Hotel Reservation in West LA had been cancelled due to renovations and they were moving me to the Best Western. What could I do? I said OK and hoped for the best. We arrived, tired. They had a nice quiet room for us. The bathroom is small, slightly larger than a closet. I don't live in the bathroom so it was mostly amusing that they had such small facilities. There is Valet parking for $12.00 a day. I didn't want the expense so I opted to park on the street. Once or twice it was a little iffy, but it worked out. It was really nice to find that the Metro was just a block away. We took the Metro into downtown LA for $1.75, and if you want, you can take it to the beach! Another nice surprise was that we were in the middle of Japantown. Ramen restaurants abound. Also, try the Indian restaurant around the corner on Pico Blvd. Fred recommended it and it was really good Fred works the desk and he is one of the kindest and friendliest front desk people ever. Thanks Fred! You were great!
We loved our stay. Very central location as we were visiting santa minica one day and hollywood the next day- not far from either. Breakfast was very good and the lady who worked in the breakfast room was fantastic as she was always keeping stations full. Pool was small but nice and warm. We loved having the pull out in thr living room somourvtwo kuds could sleep seperately. Front desk staff and valet attendants were very helpful and friendly. Has a small workout room.
I've been in this hotel just one night after 20 hours flight. I arrived in late night at 2.00 am due to flight complication but Everything gone well: room clean, american breakfast delicious, staff extremely polite. Just parking 12$ is a little bit high.
The hotel is close to the highway & easy (well not if you count LA traffic) access to metro & other hollywood sights. Our room was in the back which was quiet. Upon arrival they allowed us to check in early & even looked to upgrade our room, staff very friendly & helpful. Included continental breakfast 7-10 which is a nice bonus. One minus is the parking, they do not allow you to park your own car, valet only & they charge you $12. Room was clean and spacious. Would stay here again.
This Best Western is a great hotel and offers superior value for LA. The breakfast included is quite good too! Super location and great proximity to airport and LA Transportation. I definitely recommend it.
This property is located in an area that provides access to many museums, beaches, shopping centers, etc. One can rent a car for their personal use or sign up for local tours. The tour company can pick you up and return you back to the property after a day of sight seeing. Very convenient.
We had to go to Los Angeles to complete a vehicle repair for our daughter. This hotel was selected for location and closeness to where we had to be. It met and exceeded our needs. The staff was great, as we were the last folks in for the night and the morning staff helped to input our Rewards Number and such. Would recommend this property to others in a heartbeat.
I've stayed at this hotel for the last three years and it's the same friendly staff each time. (I think that's a good sign that there isn't turnover.) Great breakfast, clean rooms, great experience. The only complaint is that it's noisier than really expensive hotels but as expected for Best Western.
Convenient distance to LAX, Santa Monica Pier, and Hollywood! All can be reached by public transport if you are without a car. Great breakfast with plenty of choices. Rooms were big and had comfortable beds. I had an issue with wifi on my phone but the staff were helpful in sorting it out promptly. There is a fitness centre however it was extremely small and no A/C.
This is a very restful hotel. I have been coming here for nearly 10 years, and the facility and staff are consistent. The hotel is very very clean, and the breakfast selection is large. The hotel guests are international, which makes breakfast extra fun.
This is a very good location for visiting the greater Los Angeles area. We were always traveling in the opposite direction from the main traffic flow. The rooms were small but clean and the staff is very friendly. Very good complete breakfast included! Good neighborhood restaurants 5 minutes from the hotel. No luxury but everything you need.
Hotel is conveniently located near LAX, Santa Monica, and Hollywood. Very nice staff, clean rooms, impressive free breakfast, and comfortable beds and pillows. The only negative was the tight exit of the parking under the building, but that is a small issue given all of the great things about this hotel.
Stayed here while exploring Hollywood and Santa Monica. It's very close to the 405 freeway in a neighborhood-feeling location. Not surrounded by other hotels and the freeway noise wasn't bad. Great, satisfying breakfast and nice tables in the lobby that we saw families using for take out dinners. Faustina, the breakfast lady, was exceptionally nice, keeping everything well stocked and cleaned, and even let us eat after the breakfast had closed for the morning. The parking lot under the hotel has a crazy approach and a large car/truck/SUV would have a lot of trouble getting in and out. Our room was a 2 Queen suite, with a separate TV room and attached balcony overlooking the pool (room 311 or possibly 312). It was lovely and quiet. The only complaint I have is the bathroom sink is right when you walk in and the bathroom itself was cramped. But that's not why I'm in a hotel! It was easy to walk to the train to take you to Santa Monica (15 minute ride instead of 30-60 minute drive) and also to other attractions in Hollywood area.
We rented the premium double queen room for our family of 5. Two extremely comfortable queen beds and a separate room (with its own doorway) to a full size sofa bed and television (perfect for my teens)-- there was also a nicely furnished spacious balcony. Breakfasts were delicious. Valet parking and bell service were quick and done with a smile! I had the privilege of working with Fred at check-in. What a gem! He greeted us upon arrival and continually treated us as if we were family during our three day stay. Thank You Fred!
At first glance, i had questions, but this turned out to be fine. It is a small hotel/motel in a residential area. We arrived an hour before checkin time and were mmediately given a room facing the small parking lot. It was quiet, clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, the continental breakfast was excellent. It has definitely exceeded our expectations. Would definitely book again. On the negative side, the nearest store is half a mile away, and there was no easy chair in our room. On the positive side, it is two blocks from the metro train.
Fred is the best! The entire facility is very clean. This was the best hotel i ever stayed at because it was close to the metro station and close to the Whole Foods Market. I like that is was close to the market because it is hard to eat healthy when traveling.
My wife and I stay at this hotel several times a year because it is close to where our family members live. We are always pleased with the service at the front desk, the quality of the room, and the breakfast. We also enjoy using the pool and spa.
Very clean and everything worked well. Doesn't look as good from the outside, but it's a quality place. Mgmt seems to be on their game. I stay in a lot of 4-5 star hotels, but this was a true quality experience for it's class. Not flashy, but super functional and convenient to UCLA and airport.
its a great location. Prices on line were different from what I ended up paying. Overall nice place, friendly staff, but an unwanted charge of 12 each day for "valet" service. The rooms are nice and comfortable. Very hard to believe, but there are no recycling bins in any of the rooms or in the lobby.
This was my first visit to this Best Western and I made the reservation about a year ago of an upcoming concert at UCLA. I live on the east side of LA but always stay overnight as I am physically disabled and it makes things much easier for me and my caregiver. Unfortunately the concert was postponed several times so I was in contact with the staff all along the way and they were wonderful in letting me know the specifics of the room, etc for my comfort. Fred even called me the night before to assure me all was in order! Amazing! This BW is on a very busy, noisy street but all was so quiet and peaceful indoors. Parking is very tight due to space on site but a 24 Hour Valet assists with this. The room was great and had a normal, low bed which is great for someone like me who is physically disabled. The toilet seemed an inch or two higher than ADA requirements, but I am short. Missing was a grab bar next to the toilet/sink area which made it hard for me to get up and down as my walker slipped on the floor, but my caregiver was there. Hopefully a grab bar can somehow be installed. Other than that everything was fine and I would recommend this place to others. To make things even easier I ate breakfast in the room but the Breakfast Room is very well organized including a table for those in a wheelchair. Each table had a small planter with succulents on it, so nice and homey! Hot and cold items were on the menu. The staff was exemplary in making sure everything was going well and that makes all the difference in the world! Thank you Fred, Celeste and Herbert!
Great place. A little "spendy", but great service. The breakfast was very nice and the rooms very comfortable and clean. Super accommodating and the employees were very friendly. Everyone seemed so willing to help us with any of our request.
The room was immaculate, and nicely furnished. Everyone on staff is friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was plentiful, always stocked frequently, and had lots of variety with plenty of choices. There is valet parking, but most times there was on the street parking available. I can't say enough nice things about the staff. Fred, at the front desk, was knowledgeable, thoughtful, and even made reservations for us. The housekeeping staff was wonderful and kind, always asking what they could do for us (Olga was especially great). The property, inside and out, is nicely maintained with beautiful landscaping. I am already planning on staying here again on my next visit to LA in October.
The room was as advertised. It was super clean with all the amenities and everything worked. The huge closet and separate sitting room with a separate television was a surprise. This was really a great room, but the bathroom was just way to small. It was so tiny that it made the tiny bathroom we had in Paris look large. Everything else was very nice.
decent hotel.... border line line motel. its old and out-dated... Jacuzzi suite was okay... happy i got a good rate. would not have paid full price . bed was super comfortable. also, there is a parking fee- which we called before hand to find out and they said it was free. we got there and was charged$12.
The hotel is located just a half block from the Expo Line light rail, which made it possible for me to stay there without renting a car and to commute to the LA convention center each day. The ride is about 40 minutes, but is not unpleasant. The facilities are those of an average motel, but well-maintained, and the staff was particularly attentive in keeping the breakfast areas clean and well supplied. The fitness facilities are limited.
We spent 3 nights at the hotel to explore LA area. The hotel was of decent quality- room was great with a separate living area. Breakfast was adequate. Valet 24 hours and although our room was on the main road side we found it very quiet. Location was great. 30 seconds walk from the metro and although I don't remember exactly I would say maybe only 3 stops away from Santa Monica.
Hotel stay was nice. The staff members were very couteous & helpful. Rooms were clean throughout. What I didn't like was that the elevator doesn't go directly to the lobby floor. A person needs to walk a flight of steps to get to the 2nd floor to get an elevator that goes to the upper floors.
very clean nice place but expensive but it was worth it this place is close to everything 20 min away from the beach of Santa Monica and Venice beach and more plus i had the mall about 3 minutes away from the hotel so yes i loved it
I had not visited LA before so didn't know where to stay... I was also traveling alone, so wanted to make sure I was in a safe area. The hotel staff at Best Western made me feel very comfortable. They were very attentative and friendly whenever I came into the lobby! They also gave me a quiet room! I will definately return to this hotel the next time I am in LA!
Nestled in a residential neighborhood but close to rapid transit this small boutique hotel has a European Charm. Breakfast even includes European type meats and cheeses. 24 hour valet service due to limited parking.
This location is my preferred location to stay when in the area for business and pleasure. the rooms are spacious and inviting and very comfortable The Hotel and it's staff are top notch, the valet parking is awesome and there is an attendant on duty 24\\7.
We rented a car for the 5 days, and this location was perfect for getting to the beach, baseball game, Universal and the freeway access was great. It's an older Best Western and amenities are basic. But clean and staff were excellent and extremely helpful and accomodating
We choose this for its proximately to Santa Monica, freeways and parking. We missed the choice was bad, when we were trying to decide between this and another we called to check if there was free parking and we were told there was. They honored this although they charge 12 a day to park. The entire place is tight, it uses very little land so every area is small. Our room was small but had a second area with a door a TV and a pull out sofa, like a little bedroom. The 3 piece bathroom was small with no counter space, oddly enough the closet was giant. Our room was on the second floor but really a half story above ground with what seemed to be very poor windows. The road noise was so loud all night long. There really was just no good sound proofing at all. Breakfast was free and had enough to start you day but again everything is so tight, the breakfast room is also the lobby and the business center. I thought all the staff were friendly and helpful except at check in. I hate being asked the question"do you remember who you spoke with?". To me, every time I call a business I speak with the business and whom ever is on the phone is speaking on that premise. There are many amenities close by and it is easy to access just off a freeway but there is also people living under the bridge a block up the street.
Everything was terrific with this hotel - I stayed 10 nights and not once was disappointed with anything. Great staff made the difference every day. So convenient to the light rail service from Sepulveda too - you can get to so many places in LA easily from there. I Will definitely be back.
My first ever review due to the truly outstanding service we received at this location. Great breakfast, clean rooms, very kind and accommodating staff. We stayed for a week,no problems ever, good times :)
We were staying there for 4 days to vistit Los Angeles. The room was not big, we had a queen bed but there were rooms with bigger beds and more space. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean with a nice shower, but we heard every step from the person staying in the room above us, which was not so nice. Breakfast was nice, always hot eggs and pancakes, but also fresh fruit, toast, cheese and ham. The breakfast room was too small for all people to sit comfortably. The service was very good, people atthe reception were very helpful and nice.
Ultra super tiny bathroom. I had a hard time to turn around or do other things in bathroom. Must be designed for people under 100 lb. Water out of shower head was like drizzling. Water out of faucet was like lost of water pressure. Overall, bad layout in whole room.
The friendliest hotel in West LA. It is not the high end hotel but very clean, valet parking, safe, small and the customer service is the best and personal, from valet to reception. I prefer this hotel over many others in the area that I have stayed throughout my business travels. I travel frequently and prefer 5 star places but stay in this one when I am in LA, because I want clean, friendly and safe place to stay. Price is right also.
The room was clean but very dated. There was paneling on the wall, which made it seem like a horror movie set. The bathroom window locked but faced the back parking lot. Put it this way, I barricaded the bathroom door with some furniture while I slept.
This hotel is in a great location if you want to explore around Santa Monica and west hollywood. There's a light rail just a block away that takes you to santa monica and uber to west hollywood is around $10. The staff is very friendly and the manager makes everyone feel very welcome. The rooms are clean and beds comfortable. Found the suites to be on the small size compared to other hotels but it was good enough. Breakfast had good choices.
My family and I Stayed only for one night on our previous night before taking a flight back home. So we wanted a hotel near the airport but also near some interesting places to visit. This hotel was perfect because it is near the airport and near Westfield Mall, near Chuck e Cheese's, and a Whole Foods Market. Also one block away there is a huge Party City. Our room was very comfortable, we had a jet tub which our kids loved. The breakfast was very good, with healthy choices. The staff is very friendly, especially the valet parking guy from El Salvador (can't remember his name) and everyone at the front desk. The room was very clean too. I would defenetely come back if I am in LA. just take into account that the parking is USS12
Fred, the manager, is wonderful. My son lives locally and we use this hotel repeatedly for family visiting him and an occasional unexpected crisis. I sent my son with another student there in the middle of the night splattered with fake paint from a school film project when their keys were lost. This last time my son's apartment had to be painted due to mold. Fred helped us with a room on short notice twice in the last week. The rate was good. Service clearly the best. It is great to have a hotel that wants to serve the locals as well as all the tourists. Many thanks to Fred and BW. We are committed return customers.
I have stayed at this hotel every year for the past few years. They are very friendly. The hotel is clean and despite being right on a very busy street, it is quiet in the rooms. The breakfast in the mornings is fantastic. Overall it is a great hotel at a great price. I will definitely be back.
Stayed one night on a long layover in LA. Around 10 minutes drive from LAX and is located right off the highway so it's easy to find. The staff was helpful and very kind. The breakfast is good with plenty of options, some even quite healthy. Though the room was big, clean and had everything you need, there were a few problems: - No lift- Only 2 floors but still, not fun when you have luggage. - Noise- The A/C was noisy, you can hear the cars from the street, you can easily hear everything from the hall (actually woke up in the middle of the night because people simply entered their room, and I'm usually not a light sleeper) which is not so great when the cleaning service starts early in the morning. - Bed- Comfy, but for an unknown reason it shakes every few minutes. Strange. Also, the room door doesn't block the light from the hallway and is located right next to the bed so it's right in your eyes. - Bathroom- The water pressure is poor and not warm enough. - Parking- not free... But seriously, this hotel is good, it simply has a few faults which is okay for its price.
Stayed here for a weekend while i was visiting LA. Fred at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating during my stay. The rooms were very clean. There is a TON of closest space and a small washroom but it didn't bother us. A pool and hot tub are also onsite and we used both after a day of hiking to the Hollywood sign. It's a block away from public transit and 10-15 min drive from the airport. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
An overnight stay in Los Angeles was a choice instead of battling morning inbound L.A. traffic the day of my meeting. We arrived before the official check in time, but were greeted warmly, and as our reserved room was unavailable, we were upgraded to a Double Queen Suite, which was much appreciated, after a long day of travel. The room was well appointed, the bed comfy, the shower products were fragrant, and the WiFi was responsive, and free. Cell service was spotty though. The breakfast (included) was adequate - bacon, scrambled eggs, assorted cereals and breads, juices, make-it-yourself pancakes, and a yogurt bar, plus fresh fruit and coffee and assorted teas. The Valet service ($12/night) made arriving and leaving very easy, and is strongly recommended - on street parking is sparse, and not a good idea in L.A. Finally, Fred at the front desk is a gracious host, friendly, respectful, and helpful. We will certainly stay here again next time we are in the area.
We enjoyed our visit to LA staying at this nice convenient hotel. Very helpful staff especially the check in male clerk . He went out of his way to assist us both checking in and out. The Valet parker was good and was so helpful too. The room was large and very clean . We were very comfortable and would recommend this hotel.
We have stayed here several times over the last few years. The staff is very helpful & friendly. Fred is very conscientious & careful to make sure all our needs are met. The breakfast is great, the rooms are clean. It's a great location & we've always been very satisfied every time.
We stayed here for 2 nights on a road trip. The location is great as the hotel is only 5 mins from the train line that ran to both downtown LA and Santa Monica Pier so we parked up the car for the duration of the stay & the day train ticket was only $8. Only 10 minutes from the main street where there are multiple restaurants & shops. Breakfast was the usual fruit, yogurt, waffles so perfect to kick start our day but more sitting is needed for breakfast time. It was a bit chaotic each morning. Our room was fine in size for 2 people as we weren't there to just sit in a room! It was modern, clean & comfortable. My parents however had a fab family size room with a sitting room and balcony where we would all relax at night watching the world go by while planning the next days events. The valet parking guy was a little gem & helped us bring our luggage to the rooms.
our room 310 was very nice except for a small bathroom. We had a separate living room and a private balcony overlooking the pool. We had a stall shower which is something we wish all motels had. Staff was excellent.
Location located with drive to Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Hollywood, Beverley Hills; 2 queen beds plus sofa bed in off room worked well for family of 5. Bathroom a little small but all staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice and includes simple hot food (sausages, bacon, egg) on top of yoghurt, cereals, breads, pancake machine etc. Not fancy (particularly corridors a little tired) but room and breakfast area clean. Overall good value for money for location (particularly for family of 5). Parking fee (as most hotels in LA) both same price for both unlimited valet and self park...very friendly helpful valet staff.
Ive rarely seen a bathroom this dirty. After checking into my room that night I decided that I was safer skipping a shower before my return flight rather then risk the grime and mold covering the entire floor of the shower.
there are a lot of restaurants and shopping malls nearby within walk distance. Also, there are Metro and bus nearby for tourists reaching the Santa Monica Beach. Also, there is pharmacy stores nearby in case you get sick.
I've stayed here a few times -- its location is very convenient to West L.A. and Santa Monica, and the included hot breakfast is a very nice perk. It's not overly fancy, but it's pretty clean and, as others have said, Fred is terrific. Indeed, I found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
Hotel is located in west LA (so its close to major LA attractions and Santa Monica). You certainly need a car though to travel around LA. I did see a train station or metro (not sure) close by but not sure if I would walk (to/from the hotel) in the night (area seemed a bit odd). Front desk very friendly. Also suggested a tour for 79 dollars (promotion?). Room is dated and very basic yet clean and somewhat attractive. I would say this hotel is more for a 1-2 day max stay. Its reasonably priced for LA standards and they do offer breakfast which we didn't honor due to other plans, so I cannot comment. Valet parking was also a bonus. Overall I was happy with my short stay but not sure if I would go back.
We needed a place to stay close to home while our place had flooring done. We were only going to stay for 3 nights and ended up coming back after 3 nights and staying another 4 nights. Fred at the front desk was very accommodating and helpful. The valet was great and made it easy to come and go throughout our day. Place was clean. Maintenance was always available if there were any questions. Great breakfast buffet in the mornings. My kids were happy. I would recommend staying there. Was reasonable and rooms were a good size, especially when you have kids.
We stayed here for a couple of days. Staff were friendly and pleasant. The hotel was average. The shower stayed scolding hot for a very long time even with decreasing the temperature. One of the lights didn't work. Breakfast was nice. They did a few cooked items like, bacon, eggs, pancakes which was nice
Clean, modern and comfortable. This hotel was it in great spot near Santa Monica. The room was very clean and nice. The staff was more that accommodating. They allowed us to check in early, and check out late based on our flight. Fred at the front desk was so helpful and kind. Great free breakfast, with bacon eggs, all sorts of muffins and pastries, pancakes, cereal, juices and coffee and other snacks. Located in West LA, near Santa Monica and a quick Uber ride from the beach. Walk around the corner to Gulp for a bite to eat and a beverage. We loved our stay here!
We stayed in the double queen suite and it suited our family of 4 (including two teenagers) very well! It had a separate bedroom with a second large screen tv so our son could have his privacy. We walked to the Metro train about 1 block away and rode it to Santa Monica Pier and Beach. We found groceries less than 2 blocks away at Smart & Final. The accomodations were nice, clean and attractive. The breakfast spread was hot and satisfying and included bottled water. We used the hot tub and pool and found it to be very quiet and clean. This hotel is a great value and we will be back! Special thanks to the manager named Fred who attended to our every need!
Very comfortable and spacious with separate sitting room. Bonus particularly was the new metro train, less than 5 minutes away to get to Santa Monica or downtown LA. It was good to see Fred again, as we were staying at the hotel for a second time, 4 years previously. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the breakfasts varied and plentiful. Very useful to have the laundry facility and the pool.
Near to Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey, LAX, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood. Just a small little hotel trying to be like a much bigger property. The staff could not have tried harder to make our stay a good experience.Just a great value in a community where things can and usually do cost double.
Chose this hotel due to its proximity to UCLA Medical Center. Would chose it again if the need to be at the medical center arises again. Clean, comfortable, friendly. Hotel in sketchy area but felt completely safe and secure.
My wife and I spent one night and chose the hotel because of its proximity to an event we were to attend on Olympic Blvd. that evening. Found it agreeable. Room was large and quiet. It was located in a building separate from the main. Large bathroom in good repair. Room had a microwave and refrigerator. Didn't use the TV. Free Wifi worked well. Exercise room was spare, acceptable. Continental breakfast was included, adequate, most notable for its very welcomed inclusion of low fat and non-fat items. Parking was valet and charged at a rate of $12. We ran into a problem with parking and charges thereof. Notably, management was fair and supportive and our parking charge was refunded. The hotel is in a relatively industrial area. It didn't feel unsafe but it also wasn't in a terribly pleasant environment. That said, it is very conveniently placed for visitations in West Los Angeles. Unless you are amenable to eating in strip mall type restaurants, you'll want to have some form of transportation to reach desirable restaurant establishments. We'd stay there again if convenience was our priority.
For years my husband and I have been trying various motels and hotels near Culver City, where our daughter lives. At last, we have a motel that is conveniently located and affordable, with comfortable, clean, attractive rooms and excellent customer care. This motel has been completely renovated recently. The beds are comfy! The shower works! Everything is clean! Breakfast was delish! And every staff person with whom we dealt was professional, courteous, and helpful. Special thanks to Fred! We'll be back often.
I drove a long way from AZ to attend a funeral at Holy Cross Cemetery for a lifelong friend and found this delightful Best Western Royal Palace in the area. Traffic in the area is bad, but so is all of LA! I had 3 lovely days here with a nearby dinner at Billingsley's to which I walked that was convenient and good. Also another old favorite, Matteo's, in Westwood plus an enjoyable lunch on the deck at Whiskey Red's in Marina del Rey.
Great location, falling in between Hollywood/the city and beaches. Nice room with a living room. Efficient valet parking service. And really lovely staff, thanks in particular to Fred who was really wonderful!
We have stayed at this Best Western several times this year since we had a student in the area. Staff is super accommodating and friendly. Rooms are very clean with a separate sitting area which is nice. Continental breakfast is very extensive. Location is good especially if you are familiar with the LA area.
I was looking for a hotel between Santa Monica and Sunset Blvd. This one was the least expensive with good ratings and within the distance I wanted. The suites are small, but given the area the price wasn't that bad for the space we received. The restrooms are also tiny, so if you're claustrophobic this might be an issue. The service was great, the breakfast was good and the beds were really nice. I asked for extra pillows when I booked the room and they were in my room when I checked in. Great service and ok price for the location, which makes up for the size of the rooms. Even with the size of the rooms I'd return to this hotel. Especially with the staff being so nice.
I enjoyed my stay but some important things to consider.. - VALET PARKING ONLY. This was a big hassle and getting out of the driveway was a huge mess with tons of traffic and also there may be a waiting time to leave and get in - super comfy bed..seriously comfy - good size room with great bathroom, desk and lots of channels on TV. Also had 2 windows which I liked - room def had a bad odor (bring febreeze). You get used to it after a while but yuck - free breakfast with decent selections Probably won't stay again if we come back with a vehicle since it's too much trouble.
We stayed at this Best Western for 4 nites visiting the LA area. The room was very clean and it was great to have the separate room with the sofa bed for my daughter. Some people have mentioned that the bathroom was small but we did not feel this was true. The breakfast is a nice feature to start the day and was well stocked. There were times that it got busy but we had no problem finding seating and met some nice people at our table! The swimming pool is small but we did not have time to use it. The valet parking was easy to use, the car was readily available. The location is IDEAL for touring Santa Monica, the Third Promenade, LA, restaurants, and Warner Studios easily by car. The staff are very helpful and warmly greeted us always! The neighborhood is mostly residential on one side and there are businesses on the other. We would stay here again when visiting LA!
With our 3rd trip to LA and a stay at this hotel, it was excellent as usual. Close to LAX, with all the basic amenities one would need at a hotel for a short stay. Continental breakfast is always excellent, along with the daily papers.
Stayed at this hotel for three nights at beginning of a holiday to Hawaii. It was only half an hour from the airport which was good as we didn't drive whilst in LA. Luckily the metro was a short walk from the hotel and we used this to travel to Santa Monica and LA downtown. Santa Monica being our favourite, lovely beach, pier, restaurants and shopping. We found the staff to be very helpful, the room was clean and a good size with fridge and coffee machine. The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choices hot or cold and I loved the pancake machine. When we went to look at the pool we found a room with food and drinks vending machines, which we found useful as the hotel has no restaurant. This was a good base for exploring LA.
ive been staying at this property for 18 years the staff was like family to the old owner it showed in the attitude and positive spirit of the place cost cutting measures and added responsibilities have strained those positive spirits food quality has dropped off and parking is no longer included
We chose this hotel purely based on the proximity to a wedding reception we were attending. We didn't have great expectations, but were pleasantly surprised of how comfortable and clean the place was. The staff were great friendly helpful people; thanks!
Stayed one night at this hotel before a doctors appointment at UCLA. Clean room and bathroom. A/C worked well....shower flow strong. A microwave and mini fridge was in the room. Free wifi; parking $12 a day. Nice (included) breakfast: eggs. bacon, sausage, make your own pancakes, cereal, breads, pastries, etc. Friendly staff. We would stay here again!
This was our third stay at this property. The physical plant is regularly improved; this visit it was new paint and fixtures in the room. The free breakfast has been expanded to include hot items. And the LA Metro (Metro Expo Line) has a new stop in the same block as the hotel with direct service to downtown LA and Santa Monica. But it is really Fred and his staff who make the property special. His hospitality shines through every encounter. It he can't make it happen for you, it can't be done.
Lovely stay. Hotel is located about 6 miles from Venice beach. Plenty of shops and restaurants close by. Staff were superb. Fred, Celeste and Walter were extremely helpful. We would definitely stay again :)
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The room was spacious (for three people) and clean; breakfast was good, everyone (front desk, at the breakfast/lobby space, maids) was polite and helpful. Loved the coffee maker in the room with Wolfgang Puck Coffee. The bed was REALLY comfortable. The location was the best (two freeways right next it) and close enough to everywhere. There is valet parking which was awesome!! The only "but" was the awful rug (it looked like it needs a really deep cleaning) and (I guess there are more "but") even though we weren't planning on going into the pool, this area is very small; and the pillows were too high for me. Overall, very good hotel. We would definitely stay again.
We had a great time visiting LA and this hotel was inexpensive and convenient to destinations we were visiting. The room was good size and clean. The breakfast provided was good. The hotel does seem a little dated but that didn't bother us too much as the staff was very hospitable. We would consider staying again in the future.
Had a great multi night stay here. Good morning breakfast, but was quite crowded! Rooms were nice, with comfy beds. The surround area was nice and quiet, and was close to local shopping and restaurants. It was a good spot for daytripping to Hollywood and LA.
I was pleasantly surprised by the the size of units, having the extra room (with sofa bed) makes it a real family option. Bathroom was a little cramped but that is common for this type of place. We found location next to train station very handy for getting into LA central or to the Santa Monica beach. Only downside was the limited places to eat in the area, sometimes after a long day shopping/sightseeing/beach it's nice to get back freshen up before eating. We found we had to stay out till after we had eaten before heading back to hotel for the night.
This hotel is priced high, but given the area, is somewhat understandable. The hotel is clean, well kept, and about right. Nothing great about it, nothing terrible about it. The bed comfort was above average for this type of hotel. The breakfast was just right. The location is prime if going to the Getty, Museum of Tolerance, or visiting for UCLA.
Summary: This hotel is surprisingly nice. The location is so-so but the facility itself more than meets my expectations. The rooms are comfortable, the staff are pleasant and the breakfast is, again, better than I anticipated. The room rates are actually quite reasonable for what you get. Details: My colleague and I had an appointment in Santa Monica. Finding a hotel in that area that does not break the bank is challenging. I am a Best Western Diamond member and am generally willing to give places in this group a try. When we got off the highway, I was not all that impressed with the area we encountered when looking for the hotel. It was not awful but was a little dicier than I would have preferred. When we arrived, we found valet parking, which was convenient in a sense given the tight parking availability but still not ideal for me (I generally prefer not to depend on someone to fetch me my vehicle when I need to get away in the morning). The street front appearance of the facility was pretty decent. While not elegant, it appeared well kept. The lobby area was nice enough as the counter faced the relatively large sitting/breakfast area. Again, it was well maintained. While I was not crazy about the surroundings, I will note that there were some good restaurant choices within walking distance. While I would have been careful venturing out after dark, I had no qualms about making the walk in the daylight. We chose an Indian place for dinner that was about a ten-minute walk and were very happy with our meal there. We were checked in by a pleasant and friendly front desk agent who assigned me a room on the second level. The rooms were in a separate building just a few paces to the right of the main building. I made my way to my room and found it to my liking. It was laid out a little bit differently. It was oblong with the bed in front of me as I opened the door. There was a narrow piece that extended to the back of the room beside the bathroom. The view from the room was that of the main road. But the feeling was that of a city apartment looking down on an urban neighborhood scene from a corner window. The room was certainly clean and comfortable. The work area was situated in that narrow piece that extended back from the bedding area. It was well configured for evening activity on my laptop. I should note that the WiFi functioned well during my stay. The bathroom was sufficiently spacious with enough room for maneuvering. The fixtures functioned well and the water temperature warmed reasonably quickly when preparing for a shower. The bed was comfortable and the environs were OK with respect to being quiet. The fact that I was at the top of the stairs was not ideal for noise control but it really was not too bad. I was able to get decent quality sleep. The morning breakfast pleasantly surprised me as there were some hot food items along with the standard fruit, breads, juices and coffee. The quality of the fare was not bad and the seating area was sufficiently spacious. The room rates were decent considering the quality of the accommodations. My room cost was about $170. After taxes and fees, the final one-night bill was about $196.50. While not cheap, it compared favorably to the cost of alternatives in the vicinity. All in all, it was a reasonable deal. In general, my expectations for this property were exceeded as the facility was well kept. In spite of the location in which it was situated, it was relatively convenient. My room was quite agreeable, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet got me off to a decent start. The room rates were fair given that it was Los Angeles. I would consider staying here again under similar circumstances.
I come to LA regularly and love the staff of Best Western Royal Palace Inn and Suites. Celeste and Fred lead the roster of great assistance in helping to meet every need.Always courteous and informative. Unhurried and gracious in every aspect of the services they provide. I will continue to stay at this hotel as long as they are there. Also great breakfast; comfortable rooms; very easy walking to public transport and local restaurants, groceries and shopping.
Room was clean and looked same as on the website. Lobby staff nice and friendly. Valet really nice and located in front of hotel. Beds were very comfortable. Small lobby/breakfast area. Yes, it is located on a main road, but didn't seem loud to us.
We have stayed here before, so knew what to expect. The hotel is located central to getting to Hollywood, Santa Monica, Downtown LA and everything else in that region. There is a metro stop just at the top of the road (about a 3 minute walk) which takes you to either Downtown LA or Santa Monica and if required you can get into Hollywood from Downtown LA (different line), so easy access without a car (not that I'd go without a car). The hotel staff are very friendly. We were booked into a room and upon entering was already occupied (computer was showing as empty but the previous occupant had added an additional day, which wasn't showing), no problem - we were booked into a 2 queen bedroom, with seperate lounge and small bathroom, but were ?upgraded to a 1 bedroomed suite with a bigger living area (which included a sleeper sofa) and a very large bathroom, including a whirlpool bath (which was very nice). We were located at the back of the hotel on the 2nd floor, so was very quiet. Only downside was the loud air conditioning unit in the living area, which had to be turned off at night as couldn't sleep on. However, the coolness also did not extend into the bedroom without having the door open. If the door was closed it got unbearably hot, so had to leave it open. The breakfast was fab, it included eggs (boiled and scrambled, bacon and sausages), a pancake maker (scrummy), cereals, pastries (various), bagels, waffles, bread for toasting and yoghurt, all included in the price. Housekeeping came daily and was kept very clean and tidy. Had everything we required for our 5 night stay and would continue to use this hotel when staying in this area. I know this hotel gets a few negative reviews, but I would honestly recommend.
When I stay at this Best Western hotel is almost like being at my own place. Nice and peaceful. The hotel staff members are polite, gentle, helpful and sweet. Fred and Celeste at Reception are great. The new owners seem to be really good people too. The housekeepers are nice and do a great job. The bell boys always right there when you need them. The location is so convenient to go anywhere in the area.
Hotel is located in a great location, short drives to Santa Monica, Venice, Hollywood and Beverly Hills. The hotel staff from the valet to the front desk were top notch. The rooms were a good size, clean, and with a separate seating area. However even though the lobby seemed to be renovated the rooms were older and somewhat outdated. They do not have central a/c, only a window unit that blows directly on the person sleeping closest to the window. Please make sure to request a room on the back side, as the main road has heavy traffic and we had to run the fan all night to muffle as much of the noise as possible (in addition to ear plugs!). We were in a middle room and not able to pick up the wifi, which we were told is stronger on either end (staff advised that this was being addressed). The free hot breakfast was delicious and lived up to some of the other reviews on this.
This is a really nice hotel just a couple minutes off the 405 and I-10 interchange near Culver City in LA. Two things really stood out for me at this hotel - the staff and the rooms. Can't say enough about the staff - from the guys who man the 24-hour valet service (fast, courteous, and yes they will get your car for you at 3:30 a.m. if you need it) to the front desk (I wish I remembered the guy's name, I know he was pretty new to the hotel but he went out of his way to help me with recommendations and directions to some area restaurants. All of his recommendations turned out to be great places, so even though he was new, he obviously had gotten to know the area pretty well already). The rooms/suites are very large - nice sized bedroom, separate sitting room with refrigerator, microwave and TV, ours even had a balcony overlooking the pool and spa area. The bathrooms are smallish - really kind of like a walk in closet with a toilet at one end and a shower at the other - but it was super clean and everything worked well. Very good Wi-Fi and very good complimentary breakfast. The location is great - just minutes to Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, and real close to freeway interchanges. Even though Sepulveda is a very busy street, we did not notice any road noise in our room at all. Great stay at a great little hotel.
I would like to say what a nice place to stay with such lovely staff so helpful could not be nicer the room wins great with separate room with sofa bed the free breakfast at this hotel was good there was transport by monerail near by so could go to Santa mornica easy without driving
The hotel is fine with good service and a helpfull staff. Their breakfast is very good with lots of different things to eat. However, the room we stayed in, had a very noisy air condition, which we had to turn off while sleeping. The room then turnes very hot. Otherwise it is good situated and highly recommended.
This hotel has great rooms and a good breakfast. They charge for valet parking for each room. The staff is not trained very well and does not apologize for not being trained fully. They also charge your credit card before you let them know that you are ready to check out or that you are changing your payment type.
I stayed here as it was virtually next door to where I was heading for a business meeting. The room was clean and cozy, if a bit bland and small. The a/c works well, allows you to set a temp, but is an old through-the-wall unit which tends to be noisy. The bedding was new and the bed was comfortable. There was a flat screen tv, refrigerator, and microwave, and a coffee maker (with Wolfgang Puck coffee...nice touch)The bathroom in my King Bed room was enormous (almost as big as the bedroom), although most of it was empty space. This was a missed opportunity as there was ample room for a double vanity, etc. There were plenty of soaps and other convenience items. Breakfast was tasty with plentiful offerings. Valet parking cost $12 (which reviews only a few weeks old had stated was free...it is not any longer). It's not luxurious, but it's an excellent value.
Friendly staff, they were always ready to help us out. Fred was able to get us an early check-in for one of our rooms. Reservation also came with complimentary valet parking. Breakfast menu was excellent!
For me this hotel is close to everything I need to do, and paces I need to go!.......It's close the the freeway, markets, shops, restaurants, and Malls!....Free parking & breakfast! VERY pleasant environment, and the staff is friendly & competent!!
We arrived after long trip from Norcal at 11am, we got checked in early and started to relax! When making rez I was told parking was free. Nope new deal 12 a day to park and they valet for you and keep your keys (not good when you have to get other stuff from car) we worked around it tho. If you go .5 mi south you will find Vons market nice mellow walk. Don't go at night tho:) Frig and micro was a plus with 3 kids. The suite which was very reasonable had a separate couch bed with door that closes (good for the person that snores :) Breakfast is early and very NICE. The pool is heated but small and the jacuzzi is about 2 inched deep and terribly small. Loved the private pool area. The office staff and the valets are very professional and accommodating... Will def be back!
Stayed for 2 nights, picked this location as it is a block from the Metro rail. You Can be in downtown Santa Monica, or at the beach in 15 minutes, or anywhere in downtown LA, Hollywood, Universal studios with no traffic or parking hassles. Room was very nice, clean, comfy bed, small fridge. Small pool area was fine for relaxing after running all day. Breakfast was fine, eggs, sausage, fruit yogurt, pancake maker. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. The only negative was there was no local information in the lobby like you would expect. Staff had 1 map of Santa Monica. Also LA Metro info isn't very good either. The rail opened to Santa Monica a month ago, but some of their own maps don't even show it at all. Need to have more brochures available with routes, like in London.
LA is expensive, but this place was pretty good. it was clean and comfortable with friendly staff and valets; walking distance from restaurants; quiet. The room had the old, stale cigarette smoke odor common with older accommodations. The bed was comfortable in spite of old sheets.
I am a front desk staff member of a different Best Western in southern California. I'm disappointed to say that this hotel shames the franchise in terms of organization and guest service. I called to reserve a room around 4am at the employee rate, which was not advertised through the website. The night worker who claimed to be a 4 year team member at that location advised me not to worry - he would enter the reservation manually in the hotel reservation system. He took down all my information and confirmed that I'd be checking in that evening. Around 6pm the same day, as I was driving to the hotel, I called the front desk to confirm my reservation. The desk clerk told me she could not find it. I reasoned with her and asked to speak with a manager, but she told me there was no way to immediately reach anyone besides herself. When a half decent hotel makes a mistake and it's as shameful as a reservation disappearing, they'll go far out of their way to make it up. This time, I'm afraid the hotel only offered me $20 off the rate (still $60+ more than my original reservation) and without the opportunity to speak to a higher authority, I chose to decline. Without even stepping inside the hotel, Best Western Royal Palace Inn & Suites made a lasting impression on what customer service shouldn't be.
The hotel was a great place to stay. It was very close to the metro transit train, had great attentive staff and a very nice breakfast every morning. The price was reasonable compared to other hotels in Los Angeles. I would stay again if I returned to LA.
It was neat and clean. The staff are very friendly. The valet parking was fast and efficient. Providing a continental breakfast was nice. The selection was nice. Check out was fast. I have no complaints.
Stayed here before a few years ago. Still a nice place, central location close to the highway and the beach. I had a large room with two beds, plenty of space and an additional lounge with a second TV, fridge and microwave. Overall pretty quiet and comfortable. The bathroom is very small however, not for claustrofobic people and the breakfast is best taken elsewhere. There is parking (valet) and a swimming pool. Wifi is free and fast. If they upped the breafast, this would be a winner.
Lovely hotel to stay in, rooms were spacious and clean, King suites are really comfortable. Staff are friendly, helpful and engaging. Small pool outside with jacuzzi but a great sun spot in the afternoon for a little relaxing. Will be returning here
We always stay at the Best Western Royal Palace when we are in LA. The rooms, the staff, the breakfast, and the location are all excellent. The suites are especially nice, with two rooms and a patio. We appreciate the clean, quiet atmosphere, and we meet people from all over the world during the breakfast hour.
Let me start by saying that I would stay here again, despite my list of minuses at this hotel. It is a good value. And there is much that is good here: - Free valet parking - Friendly staff - Adequate free breakfast offerings (cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, etc.) - Very clean - Fridge and microwave in the room. - Free Wi-Fi (although we had to sign in more often than we liked) The not so good: - You need to climb stairs, even if you are on the first floor of rooms (which is half a flight of stairs up from the lobby). For many people including myself, this is not a problem, but some people have trouble with stairs, especially with bags, so I thought I should note this. - The 2-bed suite we stayed in had the smallest bathroom I've every seen in a hotel. Large people would have trouble there, I think. (See photos) - The A/C in the bedroom was the older type that does not let you indicate a temp (just hotter or cooler). It cycled on and off all night long and I found it a little loud. I personally found the pillows and bed slightly uncomfortable but I know that is such a matter of preference that others might be very happy with such. Overall, after looking at hotel prices in the area, I'm happy I found this one and, like I said, I would stay here again.
This hotel is located only a block away from the new metro train that takes you to numerous places...only a few minutes to the Santa Monica Pier. The staff at the hotel are awesome making sure all needs are met. Very helpful showing and telling us 'out of towners' where sights are. The valets are awesome too. All employees seem happy and helpful. Rooms were very modern and neat... Bathrooms clean. Refrigerators & microwaves in room. Free wi-fi! Great place to stay!
We were very pleased with service and comfort at the Best Western Royal Place Inn & Suites in Culver City, California. We stayed 3 nights there in late May 2016. The room, though somewhat small, was clean and the bathroom was clean and spacious. Fred at the front desk was very friendly, had a great personality and was very helpful to us. The only problem of any consequence was parking that we had difficulty moving in and out as the lot was in a basement type location. We will certainly stay there again.
Absolutely best hotel value on the pricey Westside. Best price for location, service, comfort and amenities. One half block from new Sepulveda Expo Line extension. Easy access to UCLA, LAX, beaches, and shopping Great service led by the manager, Fred , and his welcoming staff. Recently renovated. Convenient free valet parking. Excellent breakfast choices, far better than most continental breakfasts. Clean and comfortable facilities. Was home for a couple of weeks and would return again. Riz T
Loved the accommodations. Everything clean and well-kept, and best of all - they always supply fitted sheets. I stay at Best Western Hotels as frequently as I can when I travel, and have never been disappointed.
We travel frequently and the staff of this hotel is the best of any we have encountered, especially Fred at the front desk.He went out of his way to help us with various matters. We had a suite with two queen beds, a separate living area with a second TV, and a balcony. The beds were very comfortable. Our room was on the back side on the top floor and was very quiet except for early one morning when the people next door were playing the radio or TV extremely loud. Be advised that the living area has no air conditioning. It was cool enough for us but then the temperature was only in the 70's most of our stay. The breakfast was ample with fresh fruit(bananas, apples, and oranges), three cereals, eggs, etc. I was not impressed with the pancake maker. A waffle maker would be better. The hotel location is convenient to Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica and other attractions. The only negative of this hotel was our bathroom, which was extremely tiny and had only a shower.(ample size) When both of us were in there, it was a very tight squeeze and we are normal size people. We had two large closets, which took up space better served by enlarging the bathroom..After the first night Fred offered to move us to a room with a larger bathroom and a tub but we would not have the living area, which we were using daily. We would definitely stay here again in spite of the tiny bathroom.
Hotel is centrally located but HEY, this is LA and you need to rent a car... 1) For a 3.5 star hotel, I am impressed. All the facilities are clean and work. 2) The men at the Valet service are very polite and all speak English. 3) Fred at the front desk is very professional and is a gem. 4) Room is good value and large 5) You need to add oatmeal to the breakfast and get better looking bananas. Pay attention to the detail. People notice these things. Also please use real bacon and not the frozen strips. Again the detail. Over all, with one exception (noted below) I would recommend you and will return. Exception is the gym: 1) The sauna is a waste of space. Your clientele is older folks and middle level business professionals. They are NOT interested in a sauna. This is very European and unless you can show me that 33% of your guests come from Scandinavia I recommend you rip it out and install 2-3 gym stations in that room. I would do this yesterday.
While I grew up in the West LA area, this hotel was not familiar to me. However, it was a pleasant surprise, particularly its proximity to the new light rail station. The facility itself is a little dated, but makes up for it with a very convenient location and attentive staff. Valet parking is a must and very well run. I would recommend this hotel as a great value to stay at a reasonable price in a very high priced area.
Best Western Royal Palace is a comfortable and friendly place, very conveniently located near the 405 and UCLA. Rooms have recently been redecorated; parking is free. Breakfast has been upgraded, but could still benefit from more options. Beds are comfortable and rooms, especially in the back of the building are quiet. Fitness center, pool and hot tub are available.
Not worth what you pay for what you get. Bathrooms are smaller then my closets. Comp Breakfast was not very good. Nothing sugar or gluten free, not even plain oatmeal. No Microwave, had to ask them to take my food in the back room and heat it. Had to ask them to make more coffee. Would not stay there again unless I was desperate for a room.
Stayed here one night on a business trip and was very pleased by the friendly front desk staff. I had a few questions, including where to go for a run, and they were eager to help. This place also has complimentary valet parking, which is a great value. It's not as expensive as most hotels in the area, yet it's clean and in a safe neighborhood. We walked to dinner around the corner, less than a half mile. Santa Monica Pier is also only about 4 miles away. The room was OK, decent size and clean. Your average value room I would say. The breakfast was similar - a basic continental breakfast - served free with the stay.
An absolutely terrific place staffed with an excellent crew from managers to cleaning personnel. Room was great, breakfast wonderful, and location excellent. This is the best motel we have ever stayed at and we have stayed at many!
The Royal Palace Inn has upgraded and remodeled the lobby and rooms. All new decor. New breakfast choices too! The location of the Inn is excellent. Close to shopping and touring throughout the Los Angeles area; close to beaches (well, you do have to ride a few miles, but it's worth it!). Easy access to many nearby "sites to see". Front desk staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of "things to see and do" in the area and will help you arrange for tours, etc. I think you will enjoy your stay.
This hotel is very clean, and recently updated. The staff is friendly & accommodating. There is free parking, internet, & breakfast.....ALL a real bonus!! I would recommend this hotel to couples, business travelers, and families. Front desk manager, Fred, will bend over backwards to make your stay enjoyable.
The room was very clean and larger than I thought it would be. We arrived very late but they held our reservation and were very friendly and attentive when we did arrive. We only stayed for a couple of hours. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. They also have a resident raccoon, which was amusing.
We stayed in the area for a local training course, not originally planning on staying at a hotel. We were able to get a week's reservation with a walk-in. Fred was extremely helpful and was able to get us a room for the entire stay we needed. The customer service and friendliness of all the staff was outstanding and made our stay very comfortable. The rooms are very clean, bed is comfortable, and the shower has good water pressure. The location of the hotel was perfect for our stay. We will definitely use this hotel next time we are in the area, for business or pleasure.
This hotel has recently been renovated and you and see they took the time and care to get it right. Large comfortable room - we had a suite which had a separate sitting room with TV which was really nice. We also had a balcony with chairs and a small table which we utilized. Santa Monica Pier, 3rd St and the beach are very close. My one and only compliant would be the size of the teeny tiny bathroom. Our suite had 3 closets and I feel they should have expanded the bathroom into one of those closets. This wasn't enough of an inconvenience to downgrade my rating though. Staff was also very nice. Mandatory valet parking which was never a problem and very easy also. Typical continental breakfast - cereal, danish, pancakes.
I was responsible for choosig a hotel to meet up with another family for a tour of UCLA with our high school kids. I choose this property based on the reviews, room description, price and location. After a sleepless night the night before, my heart sank when we arrived at the property. The exterior is not very appealing. However, my spirits lifted with the warm welcome by the valet/bellman and front desk. The room was much better than anticipated. New renovation, nice decor, two queens and a separate room with a king size pull-out and a little deck, small refrigerator and coffee pot. Great for a family, alhough the bathroom was very small. My teens liked the room alot. Deck was nice for sipping a glass of wine or coffee. Breakfast was good and parking and breakfast are included in the price. The pool is very small and not much space around it, but good for kids and a refreshing dip. Easy access to the coast, UCLA and central LA. I would definately recommend this hotel and would return.
Stayed here as a couple February 27 to March 1st and had a very pleasant experience. The location is great and it was very easy to find. Free vallet parking, with the drivers being incredibly courteous and efficient. We were checked in by a gentleman named Angel and he was thoughtful and listened to our concerns. We received an upgrade to a room with a King bed and bathtub. The room was very spacious with a large bathroom. I hate cramped bathrooms and this room certainly was large enough! The room was very clean and maid service always restocked/cleaned the rooms perfectly. Complimentary breakfast had many options that will satisfy your needs (didn't let me down as a vegetarian). The lady that would keep the breakfast area stocked was so kind as well. Not much road noise at all if you had the windows closed at night. There was some partying going on somewhere the first night we stayed which was loud but I realized the next morning one of the windows was open. No noise the next few nights. Free Wifi! We truly struggled finding a nice hotel in this area that was CLEAN and affordable. Thankfully Best Western saved the day :) Thank you to the staff for fantastic service and the hotel is clearly managed well. Booked through hotwire.
If you are looking for a moderate priced lodging (we paid $188/night), close to the well traveled route 405, plenty of local stores nearby (CVS/Subway), then this is your place. There is free valet parking on site...the rooms has all the extras like a refrig, coffee maker, etc. This would not be my choice for a long luxury vacation spot...but perfect for short stays.
This was a four night stay and the staff especially Fred the manager was excellent. They made sure we were happy throughout our stay. Complimentary valet parking and a great pool/spa area and the pool was heated nicely for evening swims with my granddaughter. The morning breakfast was good and the rooms were clean and well maintained. Cleaning service was good also. For the location on the West side of LA this was a great stay for us! Thanks again especially to Fred!
We recently spent a week at the Best Western Royal Palace Inn and Suites at 2528 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Los Angeles. Although the hotel is currently under renovation, that did not impact our experience. The front desk employee named Fred was terrific. He was warm and welcoming each day. He provided us with valuable information concerning eateries as well as markets. The suite was two rooms with a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. The room was clean and in the main building. Complimentary valet parking was a nice perk. A full buffet breakfast was provided daily with pancakes, fruit, yogurts, juices, breakfast sandwiches, and assorted cereals and pastries. Herbert was one of the valets who always greeted us with a smile. We are looking forward to returning to this property in a few months and seeing Fred and Herbert once again.
When I stayed here the location was good for me to go see the Beaches and Hollywood. Traffic in the area for driving can be extremely busy. I found it necessary to have GPS to navigate for you so it's easier to focus on traffic. Staff at the hotel were ok. Breakfast in the morning was a nice variety which was nice to see. The rooms were normal and clean both days I stayed here.
Super friendly staff, central location, good value - it was under construction, but we were not disturbed once (indicating good management). Would have given it 5 stars if it had adult sized bathrooms in the guest rooms - we are not large people and we were cramped in
For over twelve years we visit Los Angeles almost every month, staying from 2-10 days, and would not consider staying anywhere else. A great warm, welcoming and always helpful staff, especially Fred and Celeste at the reception desk - these two are treasures which make every visit something we look forward to. It has large, comfortable and spotlessly clean guest rooms and suites, a good warm breakfast with a variety of offerings, coffee and tea always available a very fair price, free parking, a pool, spa and fitness center, and a convenient location (even better starting in March 2016 when rail service begins a short walk away).
Clean and spacious rooms; we had a suite which was great for us travelling with 3 kids. Breakfast selection was very good. Overall, a nice and reasonably priced hotel central to a lot of LA attractions. Easy to get a bus to Santa Monica. Special thanks to Fred who was so friendly and helpful and gave the best customer service we have had so far.
We stay here every three weeks. We are on a drug trial in LA and live in Palm Springs area. We actually were here every week for two nights for 7 weeks at the beginning. The staff is great - good breakfast. They are just finishing a complete re-model of the rooms, Lobby was done a couple of months ago. Location is good - close to Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and the beach.
We have been coming to this BW motel for at least 10 years . It has always been a pleasure starting with the welcoming staff, especially Fred at the front desk. As seniors we request a first floor and we've always gotten one. The rooms are always clean and inviting. The breakfasts are very good. Fred is the one we connect with to make reservations as he knows us and makes everything go smoothly. He is efficient, warm and respectful. We come at least twice every year.
Fred at the front desk made our stay a breeze. Very accommodating to our timeline. Came for a one night business trip and needed everything to run smoothly and Fred and the entire staff ensured that. Definitely plan to book again next time I'm back.
I have been staying here for over a year now. I travel often to the area. The hotel is nice and the rooms are clean. Staff is very friendly. My favorite part of my visit is dealing with Fred at the front desk (I believe he's the manager). He calls me by name and makes me feel at home every time. I've seen him do the same for other guests. Always goes the extra mile. I will definitely keep coming back!
The room was a good size for us, having the tv room allowed the four of us to put our suitcases out of the way. The bathroom was a little small. If they are renovating I would suggest putting in a pedestal sink, smaller mirror, more hanging space for the towels. I think this would give the tiny bathroom more room. Fred was amazing and couldn't be more helpful. Booked everything for us. Though I was disappointed to find out that on our last tour he was getting a good price for us at the cost of his commission and the tour wasn't that good. I would certainly stay here again. Fred deserves a raise.
Very clean & spacious room & bathroom, nice TV with lots of channels super comfortable bed & fluffy pillows!!! At check in we received a bag with bottled water & snacks, valet parking free of charge. Staff very customer oriented. The only bad mark was the "Shower area" very small : (
Family and I, look forward to our visit to Los Angeles . Fred and staff are Professional, attentive and friendly. Great Host !!!! The environment is quite, clean and family friendly. Looking forward to our next visit - never disappointed. I've stayed at this hotel off and on for the past 10 years.
Love the updates to this BW Inn! We stay here at least twice a year when we visit our family. We always love the staff here. They are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Fred is a great manager! It was always clean and comfortable but now it is even better. They recently redid the lobby and all of the rooms. Breakfast is always very good and the free valet parking in an LA location is excellent!
Centrally located, with free valet parking. We were in the back and upstairs in the C building, which avoids footsteps overhead and was quiet. Comfortable bed, and room has a microwave, and a completely empty small refrigerator, so one could prepare easy meals here. There's even a serviceable table for eating. Included is a continental breakfast of standard quality. Our room allowed adjustment of the temperature down to 63.5 degrees, much lower than in many fancy hotels, which is pleasant as we enjoy sleeping in a cool environment. Service is sweet. Two downsides are the loud fan in the bathroom that comes on when you flip the bathroom light on (we generally kept the light off), and the tiny shower, which approximates the size of the ones in France. Price is very attractive for Santa Monica. The money we saved would have paid for a great dinner!
I arrived at a LAX early in the morning and had requested a (non-guaranteed) early check in so i could prepare for an evening meeting. When I got to the hotel at 10 AM the desk clerk recognized my name and had my room ready. Because the hotel parking is limited to the number of rooms, there is a 24 hour parking valet service . The cheery disposition of the valet, who also carried my bags and oriented me to the room was also a day brightener. The room was spacious, quiet, clean comfortable.
This hotel was very clean, had very polite staff members and was located in a place that was convenient to me in West Los Angeles. The breakfast bar was better than most I've experienced. It was a bit pricier than I usually pay, but it's LA, so I guess that comes with the territory. I would definitely stay there again.
Good location to our son's home in W LA but the hotel is not well run and the experience was less than satisfactory because of noise levels from hallway and adjacent room. We will not stay in this hotel again even thought it is convenient. There is another Best Western farther west where we've stayed before and find it superior to this location.
The front desk staff was friendly and let us check in early. The room was clean and had a fridge and microwave. They had a good breakfast with cereal, boiled eggs, fruits, yougurt, toast, etc. We would stay there again if we go to Los Angeles.
Check-in was quick and painless, I checked in during evening hours (dark outside). The walk to my room in the building next to the "main" hotel building was not welcomed, but it was okay as very close & since a hotel employee, Valet, was outside, not too concerned about safety. No elevator not fun, but at least only one flight of stairs. Room was nice & clean, comfortable temp and easy to adjust. Bathroom was very clean - all good with towels, toiletries, hair dryer, shower, etc. Good sized bathroom. The room had two folding racks for luggage plus a little “table” that I put my suitcase on. Beds very comfortable. Great to have fridge & microwave, plus unexpected large area with table & chairs. Complementary breakfast did not have the scrambled eggs & breakfast meats I was expecting, but hot oatmeal & cold hard boiled eggs were okay. They did have hot ready-to-go Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches as well as pancake maker, fruit, juices, etc. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful from housekeeping to the front desk. The free Wi-Fi worked well. I would stay here again.
The hotel has a very good location for our trips to Santa Monica, Muscle and Venice Beaches, in addition to Hollywood, Burbank, downtown LA and Newport Beach. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though the bathrooms are small. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We appreciated the free valet parking and the included breakfast. Our group was very happy with this hotel.
I stayed at this hotel from Friday, October 23 to Monday, November 2. This wasn't a bad hotel. The rooms were clean and immaculate. The staff there was very professional, kind, helpful, and catered to my ever need. And the breakfast was just fantastic! They had hard-boiled eggs, cereals, fresh fruit, breakfast sandwiches, sweet rolls, and orange juice. It saved me money from eating breakfast out. The room also had a huge bathroom. I have never stayed at a hotel with a bathroom like this before. There was plenty of room in the tub and it even had water jets as well. The only issues that I had with the hotel were these. I have difficulty walking due to arthritis in both of my knees. In fact, it was too difficult for me to walk up to Pico Blvd. to catch the Santa Monica bus. (The Culver City bus also goes by the hotel as well, and stops at Pico Blvd.). I ended up taking a cab to and from the Church of the Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills (where I attended weekend Mass), and coming back from Hollywood. Luckily, my brother from Atlanta came out to L.A., and he rented a car to take us around the area. They are also building a Metro rail line between downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica; but it's not going to open up until next year (2016). The Starline Tours bus also picked me up in front of the hotel on Saturday, October 24 to take me their Santa Monica bus terminal to take the L.A City/Hollywood tour. The other issue is their swimming pool. It is located in the back of the hotel. The water was not only too cold, the shade blocks out the sun. It is also filthy on the bottom and it needs to be cleaned every day. I even found a couple of dead bees in there. I had to take a bath every time that I got out of the pool just to get rid of any of the germs on my body. They also had a jacuzzi and it wasn't that bad. Otherwise, this wasn't a bad hotel. I may consider staying again at a Best Western the next time that I take a trip out of Philadelphia.
Supposed to stay 14 nights in suite but only stayed 2. Bathroom was too small. Only maybe 18 inches clearance between door & sink. Likewise between sink & shower and sink & toilet area. Also, sitting room did not have A/C and got too hot to sit there. In addition, they were doing a major renovation in the lobby, which meant removing the ice and vending machines. Listings failed to mention these issues.
This Hotel was in a great location, the Staff was great! All folks were friendly and helpful. The furniture in the room was a bit dated but the rooms were clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget and looking for a nice place.
I'm very satisfied with Best Western Hotels. This one has a very at ease energy to it. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. In addition to bedroom portion, the rooms have a sitting room and porch adding to the space. Plus, free parking. A gem.
Close to freeway .beach and downtown!!!! Friendly staff, spotless, comfortable beds. Valet parking... On third floor there is a balcony, which we left window and sliding door open at night!! Great breakfast some thing for every type of eater....
Friendly, well-spoken staff were helpful with my arrival, finding the two places I was visiting, and with my departure. Bed was comfortable and the facility and rooms were spotless. Easy access to the Westwood area activities, though on a very busy street.
A good-value hotel near L.A. hotspots such as Beverly Hills, Westwood and Century City. just off the 405 freeway, which also makes it a relatively easy commute to/from the airport. Recently remodeled. The free valet parking is a definite plus.
What is important to you? If it is all about appearances, don't stay here - the place is dingy and worn, there is no elevator, the bathroom in the room is incredibly cramped, the surrounding area is rundown and probably sketchy at night... but if you care about service, kind and friendly staff, proximity to the highway and a reasonable price, by all means, try it. This hotel was a 10 minute walk from our business meeting and so location was critical for us; the bed was comfortable and in the end, it was a good stay.
The staff was most helpful. The accommodations were clean and pleasant and well furbished. I would recommend this hotel highly. The breakfast was more than sufficient. The decor was attractive and welcoming and quiet for sleeping.
My husband and I chose this hotel because it was six miles from the Getty Center art museum, and also close to the Burbank Bob Hope airport. The first impression of the hotel is that it is two stories tall with no parking lot or grounds. There is a sign out front announcing "Complimentary Valet Parking." You have to take this option. There is only room for 3-4 cars to unload in front of the hotel. Those cars need to get out of the way quickly, or nobody else will be able to pull into the hotel. In front of the hotel there is a very small underground parking garage that would hold about eight cars. Maneuvering into the underground lot would be very difficult, so we were glad the employees took care of that. That small lot must be a staging lot, because in the morning, the employees brought our rental car from an off-site location. We were glad we were traveling light and did not have much luggage to take to our room. One of the parking valets/bellmen helped us with our luggage. We were grateful for this, because our room was on the second floor and there was no elevator. The hallway to our room looked a bit narrow and worn. The building is normally locked; you use your room card key to gain access. The hotel seems to consist of a series of two-story buildings spread out along the Sepulveda Blvd. Our room was in the back away from the street. We heard no street noise. The room was comfortable. The bed was very good. The bars of soap were bigger than average. We liked the table/desk with two chairs. There was a mirrored closet where we found two folding luggage racks. I used one and my husband used a short, sturdy table instead. We did not use the TV or coffee maker. There was no upholstered easy chair. The view out the window was of the adjoining building. The WIFI worked fine. We had a single login for all four of our devices. Do not stay at this hotel if you want trees, bushes, pretty landscaping or outdoor seating. We decided to walk to an early dinner at one of the many restaurants on Pico Blvd. The hotel provided a list of nearby restaurants. It took us five minutes to walk to Pico Blvd. We walked past a party supply store, a Dollar Store, a lumberyard/garden store, and then underneath the freeway overpass. We were glad all these businesses were open. Normal-looking families were walking on the street. We did not see any drug-users, drunks or homeless people. We walked to dinner around 6 pm. I would not want to be a single woman taking this walk late at night. The restaurants and businesses on Pico Blvd. seem to be situated right next to each other, up against the side walk. The area is urban, not suburban. I do not have a clear memory, but I think the only parking is along the street. We had a good dinner at Bossa Nova Brazilian restaurant, which is an 8-10 minute walk from the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. Breakfast is served in the hotel lobby, which is outfitted with tables and chairs. I had a Jimmy Dean egg and sausage breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was warm and packaged in its original plastic wrapper. It was better than the weird scrambled eggs we normally get at chain hotels. There was also fruit, yogurt, pastry, etc. When we drove from the hotel in the morning, about six blocks away near the freeway we saw a homeless man sleeping on a bench. I might have preferred a prettier less-urban location for our hotel, but we would probably have paid a lot more.
We came to LA to visit our daughter who graduated from UCLA and now works in the area. This hotel is close to her apartment and very convenient. We were able to spend quality time and have her show us some of the sights that she has come to know. The area if you ignore the traffic has it all in amount of activities that are available.
Stayed here for 4 nights with my boyfriend! Hotel is well located, ess than 15minutes drive from the airport.. Walking distance from shops and restaurants. Also close to bus stop, less than 10 minute walk. Room was clean and tidy! Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Fred at the front desk! Offer a fantastic complimentary continental breakfast. We stayed on ground floor, the room was a good size with fridge, microwave, safe, comfy bed, spacious bathroom with great power shower! Offer complimentary valet parking. Free wifi! Would definitely stay here again..
My wife and I spent almost 2 weeks at this hotel and I promise you that you really get a feel for a place after that length of time. We had 3 days in New York City then flew to LA for the sun shine. The Hotel is perfect for those of you wanting somewhere to lay your head after a long day in the sun, of surfing on the beach. It is close to LAX, close to the Mall, the Beach is a short drive away as is Rodeo drive, Hollywood sign all the good stuff. The hotel is clean, the staff attentive and helpful, the valet service gents are fantastic and make you feel welcome every day. My wife and I will be booking this exact hotel again in 2017 for a week. I have not one complaint, it was exactly what we needed at the end of a long day in the sun... Well done all the staff at the Best Western Royal Palace
We stayed for a week after spending some time in New York. The hotel catered for our needs and the facilities were sufficient. Fred at receiption was very welcoming and always accomodating when it comes to information and assistance. We arrived very early before check in and we were welcomed immediately. The room was a good size and the amenities were comfortable and functional. I was very pleased with the microwave as this helped during those times we brought food back. I have no fault to report -- the hotel requires updating but some renovation is taking place. I will recommend and definitely visit again when I travel to LA.
We spent 3 days in this hotel. The hotel was great, room was clean and comfortable. Location is great to drive everywhere. It's near to a supermarket, pharmacy and other facilities. Good breakfast and complimetary wifi and valet parking. I would stay again in this hotel.
