Best Western Braddock Inn

I do not recommend staying. Staff was very friendly but thats all that this place had that was good. I stayed two nights as whiteout snow conditions stopped me from traveling. My first night in room 247 was just fine. But when I checked back in n got room 223 it was awful! I got bit all night I woke up at 4am feeling like bugs were crawling on me. I have bite marks on my legs n arms! I took a shower n mold spots showed up on the bathroom ceiling. The carpet was stained red. The bathroom had spill marks on two of the walls. It was just gross, I didn't have much of a choice as I was stuck due to weather. The pool room was FREEZING. The hot tub jets did not work. It was the WORST experience at staying at a hotel I ever had.

couldnt get extra towels and the place stunk of weed. they didnt put out milk for the breakfast and the woman talked about the guests in front of other guest and staff. room was comfy but pool area was cold

We chose this place because it was pet friendly. the hotel room smelled like urine. The check in process was horrible. Jackie was the only one behind the desk, answering phones and helping people over the phone instead of helping the 3 people that were in front of her. It's one of those places where you don't want to have to go out after dark to walk your dog. Rooms were filthy and extremely outdated.

Jackie was absolutely awesome. When I called to make reservation she was very low on rooms. All she had was a smoking room. We told her we didn't care we wanted the room.even though we weren't smokers.when we checked in she gave me a can of air freshener and kept apologizing she didn't have non smoking room. We told her it was fine we were thankful to get a room.Wished we could have stayed another night to enjoy this charming hotel. Breakfast was good and Henny's restaurant next door was so good for supper. The room was very nice. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Clean, quiet rooms. Very courteous staff. Lots of options for breakfast. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. The attached restaurant and bar was convenient-the bar had great atmosphere and very courteous staff. Would definitely stay there again!

I frequently travel aways under the B/W brand i was in the hotel business for thirty years and went to see some friends and got to the beer fest for humane society in the area. i have a service dog and they were very acommidating, had a clitch in visitors but it was swifty taken care of,thank you front deask staff for correcting that romm was great and breakfast was great and always fresh these girls that get up at the crack of dawn to feed us deserve to have a tip jar to erward them as theprovide for us spent two days poll and hot tub was great. see you again

The room was clean and comfortable. Always enjoy the swimming pool. The staff are friendly and courteous. They have conveniently located vending machines. This is always my favorite place to stay. Would highly recommend!

I drove for 12 hours and just wanted a cold drink with ice but having to walk almost a half a mile back to the office to ask for a bucket of ice was ridiculous! Wanted to get in the hot tub, No that was busted too

BW is such a nice place to stay. My room was really nice, clean and large. I made use of the fitness room as well as the breakfast. Everything about the place is great and the manager is amazing. I had my dog along and it's great place for pets. They have ample areas to walk your pet. I had zero concerns. Just an excellent place.

Great hotel with unique entrance right next to a great restaurant and other businesses. Awesome clean pool and workout room. Room was very clean and inviting. Plenty of channels on TV. Cheap but great tasting snacks in vending machines. Fresh coffee even in night hours. You have to stay here, low rates clean, safe and breakfast in a.m.

Stayed on Saturday,sick Monday and by Tuesday visited doctor. Sinus and Ear infection and skin infection.Have a strange skin infection in my belly button. I was the only one in my family to get in the pool,which after I was in I realized was very dirty. Waiting for swab results to come back from doctor. My advice,steer clear of pool completely.

We have stayed at this establishment several times. They are ALWAYS very Friendly ... knowledgeable and professional. The hotel is Clean and Up to Date ... The Breakfast is wonderful !! It's right off the Interstate ... very convenient to local attractions and to Cumberland, Frostburg, and Rocky Gap State Park and Rocky Gap Resort & Casino. WE highly recommend this Hotel !!

Called the night before and spoke to Marty, actually 2 possibly 3 times with different questions. Wonderful customer service. If I could of switched hotels that night I would of. Showed up the next afternoon and the lady at the desk was super nice and helpful , didn't catch her name (pretty girl with dark hair). Cleaning staff was very friendly as well. Property was in a great location. Our vehicle broke down so we did not have one during our stay. We were able to walk to restaurants and shops. May not recommended walking with small kids as roads around are busy but perfect for adult and young pre teens. The pool and hot tub were perfect for all ages, it even had pool toys at the time which was wonderful as well. We had stayed in 3 hotels in 3 different nights and they had the best breakfast by far. Biscuits and gravy, waffles with toppings, eggs and bacon, plus your normal hotel breakfast items. Also you can not beat the price for the value of what is there. Wonderful outside area as well, unfortunately didn't use much myself but looked and sounded great. Will definitely stay again if near by again. Thank you.

Room was clean, and the rest of the facility was also except for a large swarm of termites inside the B entrance. I felt the bed was very comfortable. Hairdryer worked well. Good lighting in the bathroom. The refrigerator was barely cool, would not want to store food in there. There was a bad odor throughout the hotel, smelled like a musty, wet dog. Too much light from the hallway spills into the room, I like a very dark sleeping room. the pool looked very inviting, but I did not swim. The breakfast the next morning looked very good and the area was very clean, however, the quality of the food was not good. There is a fantastic restaurant, right next-door. Hennys- would highly recommend it. For the price I guess it was OK, but I would not really look forward to staying there again due to the smell and safety concerns. If there would be a fire in the hallway, there is no other way to get out of your room. The only window in the room has a block glass in it. I don't think I could break that to get out..

I almost didn't stay here after reading some of the reviews, but the savings drew me in. I'm so glad it did! Room was ready early, clean, and staff was friendly. Free breakfast down the hall. No complaints!

Met our needs for a quick stop over while traveling. Friendly staff. Motel is a bit dated ,especially the bathroom and hallway. Room and bed was comfortable. I would prefer a handicap room with a shower only and not a tub with handles.

It was a toss up between the Quality Inn which we had stayed at before. We tried this. Ummm no. The property is unkempt, I could hardly breathe in our hallway, it smelled of smoke and musty, Husband said it smelled like a hamster cage, carpets were filthy, mattress slanted down at our heads , we have a service animal and they stuck us in what was the animal wing I assume, so we listened to a large dog barking constantly . Never again. My advice try somewhere else.

Pool and hot tub broken. Apparently with no fix in sight. Everything has met it's lifespan. The 13 gal toilet was a blast from the past. Heat was on or off...Your choice. There's more but I'm moving on.

We booked a pet friendly room. When we checked in, we were informed that all pet friendly rooms were also smoking rooms. I was completely disgusted. The room smelled horrible, i feel like i smelled like a stale cigarette all weekend. Disgusting!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Facilities are outdated. Roof was leaking rain water into the pool. Door to room didn't close properly. We heard doors banging until late in the night. Breakfast was good

Staff was absolutely amazing went above and beyond. Room was clean and breakfast was great. Kids enjoyed the pool and adults enjoyed other amenities. The location of the hotel was a bit busy but they had a few areas in the back to walk and get some fresh air. Close to shopping groceries gas food. Beautiful area overall.

Stayed Oct 18-20. Good location. Close to many restaurants and outdoor activities. Staff was excellent, courteous and responsive to requests. Our room was clean and comfortable, if a little dated. Complimentary breakfast had a nice variety of food items. Complimentary coffee/tea stand in lobby near front desk, better than coffee packs in room, ha. Would definitely stay again.

The receptionist, Allison, is absolutely an exceptional asset to the Best Western in Lavale, Maryland. She goes above and beyond for the guests. She worked around the physical challenges that affect me. She offered to help me with services such as specific accommodations, ordering food, parking etc. As a Minister and recording artist, I have stayed in many hotels, across the country, throughout my life and I can say, without a doubt, she's a gem and I pray the owners know just how amazing she is. What a treasure.

Customer service experience at both check-in and check-out was slow and well below that of my previous visit to this property, That aside, it is a great place: well located, well equipped, clean and quiet, with excellent beds.

Always beautiful here! Our "go to" every time we come home to see my son and play a show at local venues. Perfectly located between Cumberland and Frostburg, nesseled in the valley...hence LaVale! We love the pool, and the landscape is AWESOME. I've watched the indoor plants improve as well! Great job, staff! See y'all soon!!!

Staff were very friendly but the price we paid for this hotel did not meet what we received. The mattresses were old and uncomfortable. The bathroom was rundown. Our rooms (family in two rooms) never had hot water it was always lukewarm and we stayed 3 nights. Our bed had someone else's hair on the pillow when we arrived. The hot tub and sauna was broken.

I want to express my deep disappointment in this hotel. I checked into Room 355 on Sept 23 and quickly checked back out. The hallway my room was on reeked of pot. And my room was in terrible condition: the upholstery is frayed with stuffing coming out; the furniture is faded and scratched; there's a layer of dust covering everything - I doubt the room was even cleaned. And there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. I sent an email to the hotel manager complaining about the condition of the room, and they only responded with a "thank you". I worked in this hotel when the pool and reception areas were built in 1986. The entire motel was beautiful. I was so sad to see that it was not maintained, even minimally. It's a shame that a place that was once so revered in the area is now such a mess.

This place was better than staying at Rocky Gap's hotel. It's only 11 miles away. Less than 15 minutes because of route68. Price is cheaper & includes breakfast. Beautiful pool & friendly staff. Many places to eat on the same road

Room dirty on arrival no housekeeping on day 2 front desk would not answer calls, I only got a full voicemail. The beds were very uncomfortable somehow lumpy and hard at the same time. No elevator. I would not recommend.

This hotel has no elevator. Room was not the cleanest, stains on the curtain, ripped upholstery on chairs. Pool area was well maintained. Bed springs popped when getting in/out of bed. So-so breakfast

Hallway carpet dirty and smelled. Needed handicapped accessable room but who ever set up room didn'the know what that meant. Had short, low toilet wit no grab handles within reach. (Public bathrooms in lobby had tall toilets!). When front desk notified they didn'the care and never returned call. Room was fairly clean but couch upholstery was filthy. For some reason wife'said cell phone wouldn't make or receive calls, told her she was blocked. Clean towels were left in too small plastic bag in hallway almost on filthy carpet.

This hotel is not suited for handicapped/mobility impaired people. Once we discovered the initial room booked involved several steps up and down we asked for an accessible room. While I was able to maneuver from the parking lot into the room, it meant I needed to get in my vehicle and drive to the check-in area in order to access the breakfast room, exercise room or pool. Also, the roll in shower did not have a shelf for shampoo or soap, nor was there a bench. This is a somewhat older hotel with a long hallway that goes on forever. The good news is the prices are reasonable, the pool looked nice and breakfast was above average. A nice restaurant shares the parking lot which I recommend for dinner and drinks.

Great service the staff is accommodating to what you need and the room is clean also there's a small fitness room and pool.The location is great there's a gas station ,mall and restaurants in the area.Price was great!

Room was nice, clean, was within our budget, Outside doors have no locks, room was clean and nice but had a musty smell to it that had me coughing all night. It is a pet friendly motel so maybe pet dander I don't know but not a good night of sleep.

This place is way cheaper than others nearby but has way more to it. Pool is bigger, cleaner, and warmer than others. Hot tub works as well and the whole room the pool and hot tub are in is beautiful. There's a sauna with a workout room. It's so nice too. Everything is clean. The workers are nice. Rooms are surprisingly big for the price. The location is great too. Down the street from the mall/Walmart. Within walking distance you got sheetz and Dennys in case you miss breakfast. Honestly will be coming here for now on.

Terrible sheets, dirty bathrooms furniture old and stinky, noches thru the night until 4 am police had to be called to remove those individuals. Unsafe building, card readers dont work on the exterior doors and make the guest feels insecurity

Staff was not cleaning the rooms each day. Not even towels without asking. One night found ants all over the bathroom when I returned. Very dated property. Room very small and shower was small. Breakfast was good. Not likely to return to this property.

Enjoyed our short one night stay after attending our son's college graduation earlier. Pleasant experience all the way around - clean room, comfortable beds and the staff we encountered really seemed to enjoy their jobs. Location is great, right off interstate 68.

The level of attentiveness, warmth, and service was much better than I've had at far more expensive hotels. Well trained and helpful management and staff was astonishing. Surprisingly quiet room despite hotel's proximity to highway.

The place was very clean and the room was spotless. We were on our way to Fallingwater the next day, and the motel was very conveniently located off the highway. Breakfast was amazing - the best I've had in a motel in quite a while! The staff was friendly and accommodating.

First room had cigarette in it so they upgrade me other room had a dirty bed skirt and mold in tub other than the room was very clean. Breakfast was good. Pool roof needed repair and pool needed to be vacuumed. Say was pleasant and all the workers were very friendly

Overall the room was very quiet. A little disappointed with the small hole in the ceiling, hole in the wall where the door knob had gone through at some point, the wall lights that didn't work because there weren't any bulbs in them, and the toilets that were low to the ground. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, these were just some cosmetic issues I noticed.

This is a great place to get away from all the everyday stress that we all are going through. If you ever need a place to get back to the basic. I highly recommend to this place. The mountains scenery is wonderful.

Pluses: clean, comfortable room, convenient location (right off I-68 West of Cumberland), parking right outside the room (down a short hallway), WiFi good & a nice selection of Cable TV Stations, Bed & THREE pillows were quite comfy. Front Desk workers were polite & very helpful. Minuses: hot tub jets very weak, no breakfast (as promised), no Gideon Bible in the bedside stand! While these are disappointing, I felt safe there & would stay there again!

My husband and I stayed one night while traveling. We arrived late and were quickly waited on. The front desk women was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and breakfast was ok. We paid a fair price. We will stay again.

We booked four rooms for two nights for a family event. Upon checking into two of the rooms with key cards provided to us by the front desk staff, we found the rooms had not been tended to by housekeeping; used towels, unmade beds, filled trash cans, dirty bathrooms. We were told by front desk staff they would need to vacate the homeless people they had provided a room to in order to prepare one of our rooms!!! This should have been an important clue to find another hotel. It took until 8:30 pm and four tries until my son was finally given room keys to a relatively clean room, at least one that had been visited by housekeeping! After a three hour car trip with children this was not a pleasant experience! But that was just the beginning… two of the rooms had hair dryers that didn't work. Two rooms had AC fans that were obnoxiously loud. Beds and pillows were old, noisy and uncomfortable. One of the refrigerators was dirty. There were cigarette burns on ceilings, vanities, head boards and even picture frames! The hallways were hot, humid and dark. The entire place had a strong moldy smell which only made the cigarette smell more pronounced. The entire hotel was dirty and very outdated. They clearly do not follow COVID cleaning protocols as the video in the lobby boasts, in fact it did not appear they had any cleaning protocols! When asked for additional towels, they said they did not have any! There was only one young girl working in the entire hotel on a very busy Friday night. As competent as she was and as hard as she tried, she could not meet the demands of checking in a long line of guests, while trying to find clean rooms and handle other guest requests. We felt bad for her as we are sure she does not make enough money for such a huge responsibility. I understand places are short on help these days but then don't fill your hotel with guests you cannot take care of!!! Also very disturbing was that in the evening there was a girl nearly passed out on the sofa in the lobby, clearly on drugs. She happened to be wearing an ankle bracelet leading to our assumption that she was one of the homeless people given shelter by the hotel. This is not what I wanted my young grandchildren exposed to! Probably most concerning, was the complete lack of building security. All outside entrances are unlocked day and night, not requiring key card entry for guests. This was very unsettling for my entire family. There is no excuse for this. I have not stayed in a hotel in the past 10 years that did not require key card entry other than the main entrance. Needless to say we had to find a different hotel for our second night in Cumberland which was inconvenient and time consuming and disruptive to our trip! Please beware when booking this hotel!

My stay at the Best Western Braddock Inn in Cumberland Maryland was great. I had a very large suite across the hall from the pool at a very reasonable price, The staff were all polite and helpful. Great location to fuel and food, easy access to I-68. Exceptional value.

If you have a corporate headquarters and care about your reputation as I think you would, you should be sending auditors to your locations on a periodic basis. We stayed for the first time at 3 locations during our travels. 2 out of the 3 were bad experiences. This location was one of bad experiences. I think it's obvious and should not have to be reported that the hotel rooms have a strong musty smell, and safety (OSHA) should be a standard practice. These concerns we saw is obvious like the large electrical wires laying all around outside the hotel everywhere. The backdoor with no security on the door. If there was pride at BW, this stuff would stick out like a sore thumb and not rely on a customer to point these things out. Television was broken. The person working breakfast was very negative. She was complaining about the person before her didn't do anything and when customers were trying to cheer her up all she said was I will cheer up when 9:30am gets here. Which is when breakfast is over. Once guest asked for something to cut a bagel. She was not happy about the request and recommended them to submit a complaint in order to get something to always be there to cut the bagels as she is not responsible for that stuff. But warned that nothing will probably be done since lady responsible is dealing with something heavy. This is to depressing of a place to stay and is visually depressing and scary with the large black electrical lines strung everywhere and over door entrances. If you have kids with you then keep a close eye on them that they don't accidently touch those lines. We will not be a returning customer.

Sadly hotel was filthy and literally falling apart, there was alot of reno work being done so the hotel should let people know before getting locked into non-ref rez. Filthy overall. Office was overpowering smell of cleaning chemical the rest of the hotel was damp, pverpowering smell of old smoke, axe body spray type deodorizer. Front office Lexi (newly employed there) was very pleasant and tried to be helpful with what she could control. We had to be moved to 3rd floor to protect asthmatic child but room had huge cobwebs, active spiders and wallpaper falling off the wall- but much better than the original room we were given

very nice and confortable all in all a very confortale and relaxing stay had really good food for breakfast ,the beds were very confortable the room was nice and clean outside there is alot of really nice scenery

The lodging is as centrally located in Lavale. The area provided numerous choices for dining. We chose the restaurant next door and enjoyed a seafood dinner which was exceptional and the service was a 10 rating. If you enjoy hiking, the hotel is conveniently located near trails.

This is one of the nicest Best Westerns we have ever stayed at. Maybe one of the nicest hotels, period. The location is convenient, the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, the breakfast was good, considering the modifications because of Covid, the people at the front dest were all very friendly and helpful. The pool is beautiful, I just wish I had thought to bring a bathing suit. The value for the price is excellent. We will definitely stay here again, on our way through the area.

Our stay consists of waiting one and half hours to check-in past our confirmation time of 2PM. Problems with light in bathroom, hair dryer not working, sink drain, and lack of towels, hand towels and wash clothes!! Had to ask 2 times, and wait while they tried to find them. This falls on the owner of the Hotel franchise. To cheap to keep it stocked and enough help to do the job properly. Don't expect to get a clothes/luggage cart to the hallway of room 219 and others on the hallway. Owner too cheap to keep maid and laundry service. All of our friends next labor day weekend car show, we will stay at a different hotel. That consists of over a dozen rooms!

Recently stayed at the Best Western Braddock Inn in LA Valle,MD. Although the photos look inviting its anything but. Before the negative I have to give a shout out to the Manager Angel who allowed us to cancel our second night without Penalty. Also to front desk Lexi...what a delightful young lady. The hotel is humid, out dated and just old. It totally proved my point why I never ever stay at a Best Western. The hot tub was broke and after 500 miles on our bike it was quite disappointing. The hotel felt like it was a hourly or had people living at it type of hotel. Need I say more. Also, it was a ways outside of Cumberland. Spend the money to go Marriott or Hilton.

This hotel is beyond expectations in Cumberland, an area not known for its' refinement. The room was quite nice, however the shower was the usual weak hotel stream. The TV worked, the rom seemed clean, and best of all, the nights were quiet. If you're allergic to down feathers, bring your own pillows. The front desk had no idea what kind was in the room but after the first night, my eyes knew. The only 'downer' part of my stay was the front desk staff, when they were on station. Check in was definitely better than check out when they couldn't even find any record of me being there, and after I showed them my confirmation number, asked, "Where did you get that?" "Yes" or "No" for staying here? "Yes!"

Very disappointed, rooms did not smell good at all. They offered 2 additional rooms for us to try. They all smelled. We ended up at a different hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful, however I just don't think that doing upgrades should be done when there are people visiting your hotel. The rooms were not being upgraded but the carpet was, in all the hallways. This was not the reason for the stinky rooms.

Our stay at the BW Braddock Inn was a good value for the money. They were putting in new carpeting in the hallway, so I'm sure it will look very nice when complete. It is an older place, so there are scratches, dings & dents , but it was one of the cleanest places I've ever stayed! Staff is very friendly, check -in and out super quick.

Loved the style and location of hotel. I Will look for this one again as was a good value for the rate.Staff was extremely helpful and polite. We were well spaced from others and it was quiet and provided a restful sleep.

The facility is undergoing renovtion - carpeting and painting. The activity has been delayed because of material availability. Rooms needed updating. The staff was very accommodating - staff help us with our luggage - we have back issues. Very pleasant people

We were traveling to see family on the east coast so this was a one-night stopover. Hopefully the hotel was undergoing renovations as AC was out in the lobby & 2 different guests came to the front desk while we were waiting to check in to say they had no AC in their rooms. Thankfully, our room was fine. Pool was excellent.

I booked thru priceline. However it was really booked thru booking.com I later found out. The pics were Highly deceptive. I was booked for a double. When priceline advises a double, it us 2 beds. When I was put into a small room with the smallest bathroom and a kid sized commode and shower the size of any interior cabin on a cruise ship, is returned to they front desk. This hotel has not elevators. I asked to be moved. The manager said he could move me with a fee for $40 more per night but would authorize a 20% discount off the extra charge. When I said I had booked for a double, he said to call priceline. I did. Prickliness number automatically connected with booking.com. I waited in queue for almost 2 hours before just giving up. Priceline had also advertised a king room or do this. They did not specify 1 bed. I was there multiple nights with family. When I want out at night, the hotel has not lights on in the parking lot. At was pitch black and I did not feel safe. The next night, there was one light on the lit that came in a I exited the building but went off before I reached my vehicle. Th3 air conditionedlr worked well though. The lobby had not air conditioning. The front desk had a box fan and the ceiling was missing panels. Maybe in 1980 the hotel would have been ok. It is extremely dated and overall rundown. No elevator. 3 floors. Roim was dark and so was the parking lot.

The bathroom floor had trash and hair that had not been swept. The shelf under the sink was dusty and had things spilled on it that were not cleaned. Also, there were sticky spots on the tables and AC. There were also partially eaten cookies and pieces of breakfast cereal in the AC vent. The room did have new carpet, which was nice.

Smelled glue in the hall as carpet was charged. couldn't go up and down stains as they were working carpet was sticking up 5 inches right in front of our door, had to be careful not to trip Was very disappointed in breakfast very cheap for the extra money you should have had a better breakfast charged us $40 more per night due to HOG RALLY RATE THANK YOU

What a crusthole. The hotel smelled, it was hot. The room itself was ok. Bed not the most comfy. But zero frills. Pipes sticking out. But clean in the room. They are tearing up carpets and painting. It looked awful. The pool area was dirty. Really run down. The hot tub was not working even though it was advertised. Seems like from another review it was broken for more than a month. I am pretty upset that we spent 165 bucks for this place. Check in and out was ok. The maids seemed stressed that check in time was 2pm. There is no elevator! And 3 floors. Beware when booking. I would say skip this one.

BEWARE. . . . This has been the worst experience I have ever had..... front desk attendant working day shift all weekend and even monday. So I checked in Friday after I arrived from Pittsburgh, PA to stay for a week. When I checked in the lady working immediately started talking about other guest to me. Which I was in shock, extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. This lady continued to talk about guest to not just me other people. On Saturday and Sunday she kept saying about how all these kids was in the pool alone and the parents are in the room not watching them. She told me another time about the kids in the hot tub complaining about these people. I was in the pool area for a few hours and she never even said anything to these children or addressed the parents about the issue. The pool area was not cleaned all weekend. Yess the towels was cleaned up but the tables, chairs, and floors was nasty and not cleaned for at least 2 days over the weekend. I couldn't believe how unclean the pool area was when that what sold me to book this place. On Monday when I was in the pool area I was walking around the hot tub area not in it however my mom was in it. I was walking around it with my daughter we was just laughing and singing when I noticed this same lady who has been talking about everyone. She was pointing at me and throwing her hands as she is walking from the desk area to the pool so I'm like what's going on. Are they closing early? No she comes in yelling the hot tubs closed you need to get out she had a attitude about it and was yelling. I felt so embarrassed over the scene she caused in front of everyone. I told her I'm sorry I didn't know it was closed I didn't see a sign. She advised us it's closed because a board that lifts up. I told her about this board over the weekend and she didn't do anything or close it which I understand why it was closed. However to treat us like that when we have been nothing but nice and followed the rules. Then on Tuesday We went to swim at 7 pm and a different attendant approached us to tell us she is closing the pool down because people won't watch their kids. The manger advised her to do. I just feel like that's so unfair to the guest who respect the rules. The first two nights here my shower was ice cold they had to move rooms for me on Sunday which I was very grateful for! The shower was better but it did take time to warm up however the bath tub didn't plug at all it was broken. Also the tanning bed here is awful we paid $5 to tan in cash only and 4 or 5 bulbs is burnt out. I didn't even tan at all and I normally burn when I go for 20. I asked about going again the next day since it was broken and didn't even work. The lady said no the manger is not there she would have to ask her. Then a few hours later we was able to tan again. So thank you for that. I'm just super upset over how the lady treats people here and about the pool area.

MY daughter and I both were there for one night and we reserved a non-smoking room with two full beds. When we walked into the room, there was a very strong overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke. the front clerk was great about this and did move us to another room and it was an upgraded room. When we walked into the second room there was the smell of cigarette smoke as well. The smell was not as strong but was extremely noticeable . The smell being there made it very hard to fall asleep/stay asleep in and my daughter and I were coughing all throughout the night. The next morning I told the morning front desk clerk about this and she had kind of an "Oh Well' attitude and checked us out. while we were checking in there were some people who were clearly on drugs hanging around the different entrances which made us uncomfortable. once we were in the rooms we were ok (except for the smell). All in all we most likely will never stay there again unless it is absolutely necessary.

Last minute reservation was handled well, considering at check in there was a law enforcement officer dealing with a drunk trespasser on the property, and the individual had trashed the hotel lobby. But aside from that, the staff was friendly, helpful, and informed. The Henny's restaurant right next door was excellent, with great atmosphere, food, drink, and prices. I would stay at this Best Western again, if traveling in this area.

My grandson requested swimming as his birthday present. We live in an area where February is a very cold month with no many places with indoor pools, especially during Covid 19. Someone suggested we stay here. It was close to home and the birthday boy and his cousins had a great time.

I'd rate 5 stars if the price was more reasonable for the area. The pool, jacuzzi, sauna and even tanning bed defiantly make for a relaxing stay. Highly recommended especially for the area. Conveniently located Plenty Restaurant and shopping.

We had a reservation for this evening. We checked in and drove to our entrance. The smell of cigarettes and marijuana was so disgusting and overpowering, we went to the front desk and asked for our money back and to cancel our reservation. We were in our room for about five minutes and our eyes burned and the smell lingers in our clothes. It was disgusting. Best Westerns tend to be great hotels, and we were incredibly disappointed.

This hotel does not deserve to be BW brand. Rooms were terrible, even after a requested change. A 2 nite stay was aborted when I awoke unable to breathe because of conditions in the room which was pretty shabby. Families should not stay here.

I have never been so disapppinted in Best Western. While traveling through the Cumberland MD we stop for the night and rented a room at the 1268 National Highway, Lavale, Maryland 21502. Absolutely disgusting! We were in a no smoking room that smelled like a dirty ashtray, mold and filth. There was something red spattered all over the ceiling and the bathroom floor was so filthy I refused to stay. We went up the road, but not before I took pictures of the cigarettes on top of the armoire, dirty bathoom and splattered ceiling. Clean up your property. There is nothing safe, friendly or satisfing about this property.

After booking at the local Super 8 and not being able to stay there another minute, I found a room at this hotel, checked out of the Super 8 and into the Best Western. It was refreshing to walk onto a clean property. The rooms are clean, the hotel is clean and even though I am not traveling with a dog, the hotel is pet friendly so I got to see some beautiful dogs. They must have been well behaved because I haven't heard a peep! Room was spacious and very clean, I didn't want to arm myself with a can of Lysol upon entering it. Hotel is large, but very quiet. Checking in was pleasant and easy. This property is definitely on my list for future travels.

Stopped for night on a long drive home. Facility was adequate close to gas station and many restaurants. Very dark inside. Furniture in room faded and stained and refrigerator leaked. Front desk workers did not wear masks. On the bright side, the day we were there was first time pool was open in 5 months, was very cold, heater was not up to temperature yet, but my son was happy for 5 minutes. Glad it was open because that's why we booked a pool side suite. Very average, not terrible. Oh and it was raining and TVs kept going out, and were told it was the weather....

Discovered this gem while planning trip to Delaware beaches. The services and quality of the lodging were exceptional, particularly considering the Covid-19 pandemic. We will return on our way home and stay again ! Lovely area, wonderful people !

Mold in fridge. Beds didnt have comforters on them. Had to be moved 3 times because of mold, marijuana smell and phone in room wasnt working. Grab n go breakfast was just water and fruit. Nothing else

Went with partner and neighbors plus our pets. Had a very enjoyable evening stay. Desk staff talked with us and we discussed all our pets. Hers and ours. Had a nice morning breakfast. Always good when we stay here.

Needing to stop for the night I looked for a Best Western and wasn't disappointed. The front desk personnel was professional and set me up with appropriate accommodations. The king room was great and the morning breakfast was delicious.

Everything about this place is great! Decent breakfast when prepared correctly, pool and hot tub along with the sauna were awesome! Every time I come to Cumberland to visit... I have always stayed here except for the one time they were all booked up!

Went to pay a visit with a customer that was close by and stayed the night here. The location was great and easy to get to and the access to the freeway was so easy. The hotel is going thru some renovations and is a very nice place to stay and the staff was really good too!

I have stayed here several times. The staff is great. Room was nice and clean. Will stay here again Breakfast is good. Went swimming and went in the hot tub. There is lots to do in the area. They have great accomadations if you need handicap accessible.

We had some difficulty finding the place. Once there, it was fine. Nice property. Rooms could use updating. Breakfast was terrific. Didn't use the pool, but it looked very inviting. We found the front desk receptionist very friendly and helpful. The waitress in the breakfast room did an outstanding job keeping the area clean. Nice staying.

Great Location, Owners need to take care of this Gem!! I was so disappointed. This was a Anniversary get away. Breakfast was poorly taken care of out of everything at 730am. I would like a refund! I am very upset.

On an Autumn trip to the Pennsylvania/Maryland area, we enjoyed two nights at the Best Western Braddock Inn. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful woodland landscape. Overall, the hotel is well maintained, exceptionally clean and our room was perfect. Henny's Grill & Bar has surprisingly excellent food. We went back for dinner both nights! A hidden treasure in LaVale, Maryland.

The hotel is right off the highway and near food and fuel business's. The rooms are nice and clean and the breakfast was good. I had no problems with my stay and staff was very friendly. I would stay there again.

Whenever in or passing through La Vale/Cumberland, MD I say here. Its a great place. Not sure why Henry's wasn't open on Sunday, my only real disappointment. The hot tub was also on the fritz, and apparently had been so for some time. But, regardless I will stay here again. I figure they'll have the hot fixed and Henry's will be open.

Location is just off of I-68 with lots of stores, restaurants etc all located within short drive. Some you are able to walk too if desiring exercise. We stayed here for the weekend and did sightseeing in the area and Potomac Scenic Train Ride. All were very interesting. The hotel is very easy to find. Pool was nice and typical hotel exercise room. Breakfast had hot/cold items, lots of hot coffee. There is a restaurant connected to hotel but we didn't have chance to dine there as we were busy going other places. Overall pleasant 2 day experience. Price was comparable to others in area but the pool here is larger than most indoor pools which helped decide where to stay. Sheetz which has everything you forgot is just across the street.

Very old, unkept, no hot tub, completely empty pool area ... pictures are not accurate to what you get. breakfast was the highlight and leaving. Dark, musty ..A/C does not work well at all .. Needs a good cleaning EVERYWHERE ... Spend $125 elsewhere

We have stayed here many times. Always a pleasure. The staff is nice, the rooms are clean. The pool and spa are very good. Decent breakfast. Many restaurants nearby. Convenient to both Cumberland and Frostburg.

Quiet with all the amenities. Very satisfied. Staff went out of their way to make my experience great. They have a nice pool, a work-out room and a great breakfast bar. I did make reservations and the first thing the clerk asked about was whether I had AAA or other discount cards. The clerk also gave directions.

This had to be one of the most charming Best Western's I have been to. It's hard to explain, but it had a lot of character. I only got a single queen room, and it was still quite spacious. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise. There were quite a few options. The grill/bar next door was also a major plus.

This place reminds me more of a 50's motel, that has been added onto in pieces. The staff was helpful and pleasant, but our reservation was wrong (2 nights instead of 3) and the handicapped room I was promised when I called was unavailable at check in. Desk staff did their best to help but it was a lot of walking for my husband with a cane. The bathroom was smaller than anything I've ever seen. We had to ask for more towels as the stock was skimpy. Breakfast was good with hot options. Clean enough spaces.

We often stay here on our way to Garrett County MD and enjoy this quiet and clean motel which includes breakfast. The check-in and check-out was efficient, the staff friendly and the room was clean. The breakfast was the usual BW fare with eggs, bacon, waffles you make yourself, coffee and juices.

I've stayed at a lot of best western hotels this year and this is the only hotel that recognized my rewards status. The hotel was clean and everything functioned properly. The property was beautiful. The exterior of the building was very rustic in appearance. There was a creek running along the hotel that was beautiful.

This is an older hotel. Our room smelled terrible. The tub surround was old and cracked. The bedspread could have been cleaner. The breakfast options were limited. I've stayed at Best Western hotels before, and this was the worst.

Overall, the hotel rooms were clean but the common areas were clean but worn. Our room was just fine for a one night stay, the linens were clean and the bathroom was spotless. There is plenty of parking, easy in and easy out. The hot tub could use some attention as it doesn't seem to be working too well, it wasn't too much of an inconvenience that we needed to report it but routine inspection and maintenance should let them know that the jets aren't great.

Pool was very nice. Rooms were cozy but could use heavier blankets. Room was clean. Had everything we needed. Staff was welcoming and extremely nice. Very pet friendly! Will use again. Plenty of Restaurants close by.

The room seemed to have a pet smell to it. Unknowingly we had been placed in a pet room which triggered my son's allergies. 3 days after swimming in their pool a trip to urgent care diagnosed me with swimmer's ear.

Apparently the pool was too dirty to use. They couldn't get someone in to clean it until Monday so the pool was shut down all weekend. We had stayed here the year before and the pool was the whole reason we booked here again. They need to have someone on staff to handle pool issues as they come up.

Beautiful landscaping. No elevators so depending on where your room was located, you had a full flight of stairs to climb. Room was very dirty and ants were very found in ice bucket! We had to wait to check in because house cleaning wasn't finished. I think we should have waited longer! Breakfast was great. Pool was very nice but the hot tub jets weren't working.

Noisy from the big rig trucks entering the NEW extra large gas station across the street from the hotel. There used to be a bowling alley there but it now gone. Staff was friendly and pleasent to speak to.

Had a planned stay on a Friday night enroute to Kentucky. Enjoyed the experience enough decided to stop there on the way back the following week. A nice breakfast. Pool area with interesting cacti. Arrived after 8:00 pm each time and the desk person was very nice as was the person who was there each morning.

Quick overnight stop during a bitterly cold weekend. Excellent AAA rate for Kingsize bed. Accommodations clean and comfortable. Room spacious. Front desk personable, friendly and helpful. This property is close to chain and private restaurants. Did not use pool, but the pool/hot tub area looked good. Property layout is unique. Would stay again. And, the heater was great!

Our group of 3 retired women had had a very long day when we found ourselves in the middle of a blizzard. The Best Western Braddock Inn was our refuge from the storm. When I called ahead, the person I talked with was attentive and very helpful. She explained all the options, and we went for a large room with 2 queens plus a rollaway cot. The parking area and sidewalks were navigable, even in the middle of the snowstorm. Check-in was simple, and the clerk brought the cot immediately. The room was clean, large enough, and comfortable. In the morning we had recovered enough to appreciate the decor, which was simple and attractive. I enjoyed the fitness center and a brief dip in the pool and hot tub. Breakfast was hot, delicious, and offered plenty of choices. Housekeepers were in the hall, and they checked to make sure we had everything we needed. At checkout, I needed a paper receipt, and that was quick and easy. The whole hotel staff was wonderful--professional, helpful, and friendly. The whole experience felt like a girls' getaway and before the reality of unfed pets set in, we were thinking about staying another night. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

very dissapointed being told the hot tub was closed but a bunch of kids showed up and said they were allowed in.....they were all way to young per the rules of the hotel plus they were all eating pizza in the pool and hot tub but the staff chose to do nothing about it

Good hotel for a good value. Pool needs updating, but overall friendly staff and good breakfast. We had the convenience of adjoining rooms, which was great for our family. Sauna was a nice added bonus!

Room was beside a smoking room with a chain smoker, Horrible ventilation. Went to use the pool and tub, hot tub did not work. Staff knew of this and lied about the issues. Hotels corridors were not heated in the middle of winter walked out to VERY COLD AREAS when you leave the room. Staff when asked about an issue, basically told us they were too busy to assist and they would be back in 30 min to see if they could do anything. Dirty towels were left in the bathroom when we arrived.

When checking in the lobby has a nice feel to it. The enjoyment stops there. My room looked like it was rented out by the hour with smashed insects on the curtains and window. Visibly soiled linen on the bed. Light switches looked like they had not been cleaned since the place opened. Knobs falling off of bathroom door. I used a whole bottle of Lysol to make myself able to stomach the stay and not to mention go get AND change my own bed when I requested new bedding.

So we booked this location for our little Jeep outing up in the mountains. So best part of this location is the breakfast and pool/Jacuzzi area. Beds we're comfy and all amenities in the room worked properly. My only wish is that the room would have been cleaned up better at first arrival. ( We had to clean make up off of some hard surfaces). Constant lingering smoke smell in hallways, but room was fine. Great value for what was offered.

Overall, a good place to stay. The 'new' area of the hotel was added probably 40 years ago, but the room we had (single king bed) was nice, very clean and had been updated (new sink, tub, etc). They've improved the breakfast from when I was there 3 years ago. Location is good: near shopping, the highway (I-68). Onsite restaurant, Henny's, is very good: good food, reasonable prices, great staff. We had told them there would be about 20 people coming in one evening, but it turned out to be 30. They didn't flinch. They were great about it.

Overall, this is a very nice motel which has all the amenities, a great location both on the National Road (U.S. 40 Alternate) and is just off an exit to I-68 where you can easily get back on the interstate. Even better, for having all the amenities, the price was very reasonable. We have paid a lot more and gotten less. The room has lots of plugs for electronic devices. I believe the TV worked well. Our room itself and the front desk area and indoor pool were all very nice and the outdoor landscaping is lovely. It is situated right by a creek and so the grounds themselves are somewhat scenic. I would normally give 4 stars for this, but one of the halls was grungy enough that it made me take notice. Other than that, this is a very nice property and a great value. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Great overnight stay! Everyone was nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. Nice pool area very relaxing and the hotel is very close to the mall and other restaurants. Will stay here again as my son is in college 15 miles away!

this is my favorite place to stay when I come up to the Lonaconing area. rooms are nice , breakfast is always good and the restaurant next store has a killer chocolate cake . it is convenient to Dan's mountain, Frostburg, Cumberland and Lonaconing places I need to be.

The Best Western Braddock Inn has been a delightful place for us to stay. We have been staying at this Best Western site for 6 years now by choice. We love coming to this site due to the excellentservice from all of the staff. They all go above and beyond so we have a comfortable and relaxing stay.

If you have a last name that people find hard to prononce you might want to go somewhere else because they can't read nor do they listen , thr woman at the check-in counter was told the spelling 6 times of my last and told me I wasn't in the system , I had to hand here my id to clarify my last name and when she realize she was saying it wrong it was a joke she was making for 10 minutes on what she thought my last was , being very loud and rude about me , 3 times I had to tell her to stop because it was very inbarassing

We are BW members and try to at their hotels as often as possible since we are Hog members and BW has a program. Unfortunately front desk clerk did not know of them which means they did not have a bike wash station or even a bucket and rags Room was extememy humid. It had an awful smell even with the air on which was to bad as the room was nice. The bed was ok If you stay at this hotel don't stay on the first floor or go see room to make sure it is not humid Breakfast was good. Gluten free cereal, soya milk available beside hot and cold items Pool was nice

I'm rating this a 3. It was nice that we were allowed to check in so late. It was nice we got a discount for such a late check-in. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room we were given had not been cleaned. Apparently it was a clerical error, but I have my doubts. The next room was apparently the last available, was super hot. The breakfast was excellent as in the best hotel continental breakfast I've ever had. The breakfast lady's name I think was Belva and she was nice and helpful. It was obvious she wanted to do a good job. She is the reason I rated the stay as high as I did. Would I stay here again? Well, the breakfast was good.

There is a saying lipstick on a pig. This place is old but has been tastefully redone. Outside there are some places where u can sit by the steam, the room was musty when we first got in but I ran the ac for an hour or so and it got better. Breakfast is your normal free breakfast at these hotels. The beds were ok, the staff was great. I wish more people were as pleasant to deal with. Close to many restaurants. For the price I would stay again

located at a 3-way intersection, road noise was terrible, in part probably due to the thin walls and/or windows. but that was when we went to bed. before then, we found ice machine not working on floor 2, bathroom sink draining slow and hot tub drained and shut down.

This hotel has many amenities (sauna, tanning, exercise, heated indoor pool, hottub). It could do more with the outside seating and pet areas. The service ie: humans, I dealt with were superior in friendliness and assistance. This hotel offers pet and smoking rooms that are one in the same, sadly. So, although I have a pet, the stench from nicotine in the room was horrific. Some updated painting and rugs replaced with tile or something would be better in the smoking/pet rooms! There are restaurants and convenience stores located in walking distance. The rooms were neat and clean. Rooms varied in price and size, which I appreciated. I would give this place another try without my pet along as the smell was overwhelming. The place sits in the middle of a Y, so there are two exits/entrances.

Loved the pool and hot tub, breakfast was good buffet style. Location was nice staff was friendly just might want to bring a towel to the pool we didn't get any in our 2 days. Plenty of stores nearby and restaurants.

Had two rooms same floor next to each other both rooms were very clean and well equipped, the breakfast was very god, hot and staffed with aide. The room prices were different due to booking service and timing of second reservation. Did not visit any amenities such as Pool etc, so can not vouch for these but my daughter who is 22 and very particular was very satisfied with all she observed

The BW Braddock Inn is a great place to stay. Quiet rooms , an a/c that will make plenty of white noise and a scenic setting for the wanderer on you. Nearby restaurants and gas stations and easy access to the highway make it a great stop.

We liked everything about this hotel except the desk people. On Thursday when we checked in they didn't want to honor the internet price, so they charged us $5.00 more. I guess they thought about it because when we checked out they took the $5.00 off. We went back Sunday night and asked for the same deal that we got on Friday and the guy said OK. When we checked out they hit us for an additional ten bucks. The food was good, the bed was good, and the soap was great, BUT the staff...Not so good

My boyfriend and I had a great stay. There was very convinent parking close to our room and the complementary breakfast was great. The pool looked very nice but unfortunately we didn't have time to enjoy it. We highly recomend!

after check in i jumped in to take a shower. water got clogged in the shower but they didn't have a technician available. good they offered a different room. the nonsmoking rooms smelled smoke. the room smelled of mold. i had to spray a perfume to be able to stay kids jumped into the pool the water wasn't clean after few minutes they ended up with wheezing and were up all night i tried to get into the hot spa and noticed the water was dirty. like someone actually peeed in or something. breakfast was nice. before checkout while the kids were in the shower the electricity went out and even after we called it never came back until 15min before checkout. finally i was told they accidentally checked me out an hour before and so the power was switched off!!!!! One more thing the card to get in didnt work and I have had to go to front desk atleast 4 times for them to activate my card

This past weekend my family and I stayed at the Best Western Braddock Inn located in LaVale, MD. We live in the area but rented a room just to gain access to the heated pool as a gift for my daughter's 6th birthday. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. During our entire stay, the pool heater was not working, which made the water ICE COLD. The pool room was also freezing. The hot tub was closed (see attached photo) so we were out of luck on our birthday plans. Our entire weekend was a huge waste of money and disappointment! Due to these issues, I spoke with the front desk for a full refund on the room since our expectations were not met. They said that shouldn't be a problem and took down my contact information for the manager. I waited a full week and never heard back, so then I decided to write to their corporate office. Again, STILL NOTHING TWO WEEKS LATER! This place used to be nice and I have always recommended it to my out-of-town family and friends and I probably still would have if they would've refunded my money for what I thought was a temporary problem with the pool.. but now I see that their priorities have changed. Such a shame!!!!

The room was dirty maids never came and cleaned up my room. the wifi didn't work. the pool was like ice water. the Jacuzzi wasn't working. front desk don't seem to care about anything. I WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN AND I DONT RECOMMED IT FOR ANYONE.

after we checked in we went to the room and you could smell pot everywhere. we were there 3 days and we didn't get maid service when we were there. the pool was like an ice cube you could not get in. the Jacuzzi didn't work. the internet was very spotty soon as you would connect and get online it would drop your connection. I would NOT stay at this motel ever again.

Visit was good, staff were great and helpful only problem was the yelling, screaming, cuzzing, jumping up and down on floor going on everyday od 3 day visit I complained upon check in but obviously not much was done so why complain anymore, next time I want to get away I'll find another hotel

We had a nice and relaxing stay both nights that we stayed! The first night we stayed the staff at the hotel Taylor Long was very helpful and friendly! Everything was good and clean except when we went to get in the hot tub it was dirty with hairs and everything else floating in it!

What a comfortable, warm, friendly, reasonable place to stay on a cold winter night. Very dog friendly. Two thumbs up! We truly enjoyed our stay. Great on site restaurant at Henny's! Beautiful area! We had a quiet room at the back of the property with the pups.

Just what I expected and needed. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was very good...bacon! Nice restaurant and bar on property. Have stayed here many times and will do so again. Big indoor pool! Plenty of free parking. Easy on and off the interstate.

Meh motel. If cigarette smoke doesn't bother you, it's a cheap place to stay dry on a stormy night. I had to use towels to block the smell of smoke from entering our room under the door. And the location, between two roads with heavy traffic? Not the greatest...

Hotel is great and is very clean. Hotel has great employees who will go out of their way to help you with any problems that you might have.. Indoor pool and fitness center is very nice. The Hotel also has a hot tub and a sauna along with a tanning bed to warm you up in the winter. It also has a great breakfast with many items to choose from. The Best Western in Lavale is in a great location I -68.

This is a gem, the wooded lot the hotel sits on is secluded, serene & quiet has a huge pool & hot-tub atrium, gazebo, workout room, restaurant and is literally right in the middle of town. It is a walk to everything: KFC. McDonald/BurgerKing, Ruby Tuesday, Dennys Pizza hut, shopping, etc. Very convenient location with many amenities. Had trouble with Wi-Fi in my room, as did others, and had to go to lobby to use my laptop, but this was a great experience and at a great price. Would highly recommend this hotel!

I requested a late check out to be added to the bill when I made the reservation. This was not communicated to the main staff. I made sure that it was on the bill for checkout. My late checkout was not communicated to the cleaning staff as they knocked on the door. Make sure they understand what you want.

Rooms without a tub? First time ever in the USA for me to see this. So small an area that it felt like you were in a closet. This use to be my go to place in the area and was a second home. Today the quality of 12 years ago is gone and the updates of low quality.

The room had a remote and guide to channels that I could easily understand. (A miracle). There was a suitcase shelf with its own light!!! It had a recliner. The ambiance is great with a lovely pool with plants, and a nice spa. The outside landscape is mature and professional. The staff was relaxed and friendly. Best hotel breakfast with TATER TOTS!!! Been here at least 5 times. Always go back.

We stayed one night as we were passing through the area. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were well appointed, and the property was clean and well maintained. The free breakfast buffet was well stocked with a wide variety of hot and cold options. I would highly recommend this property if you're in the Cumberland-Lavale area.

Nestled in the hills of Western Maryland, this is an absolutely beautiful spot to stop on a long trip. Friendly staff, comfortable room, GREAT pressure in shower, fast WiFi, and quick access to local eats.

I have stayed in Best Westerns before, they were old, out dated and dirty. with that experience, I was surprised when my husband booked one again. We were surprised at how nice this one was. The problems we encountered were we were given a smoking room when we don't smoke. It was hard to maneuver the different ways we had to go for each floor. Another big problem was no elevator... that's a big one for older people with knee problems. The breakfast should run later. several of us went right before 10 and it was closed.

I love a good bed and pillows when I travel! this hotel had both of those plus the hotel was very quiet! The restaurant was very close and easy to walk to and get seated immediately. Food and service was very good and fairly priced. Crab bites were the best!

We were traveling with friends and came across this really nice hotel. Stayed one night and very much enjoyed it. We were on the lower level and I just loved the trees inside as we walked to our room. Everyone was very nice and had a great breakfast in the morning. All the staff were very helpful and this hotel is a little tropical which I love as I once lived in Hawaii. There is a restruant and also a few more nearby. Would defianatly stay here again.

I didn't actually stay here. Plans changed and we had to cancel. Somehow the cancellation was messed up and I was charged for two rooms. It took WEEKS to finally get a response. The response was “We can't help you”. I understand having a cancellation policy but this is incredibly poor customer service. How about responding in a timely manner? How about responding with “please call us to see if we can work something out”. Even if it had ended up with me still paying for the rooms I would at least feel like you cared. Maybe you could even feel bad about the fact that you are charging me for services you didn't provide. Or at least ACT like you feel bad about it. Thanks for making an already difficult time more difficult. I won't ever stay at Best Western anywhere ever.

This Best Western is very well located with many restaurants, both local and chain, nearby. It is very near to major highways and downtown Cumberland is only a few miles away. Our room was very nice and clean, but the hallways and stairways need new carpeting. The Reception area is OK and the breakfast area is nice, though small. Good breakfast with attentive staff. Our room faced the highway but was quiet very quiet.

We had been traveling for about 7 hours with the last 3 hours in heavy rain and light to heavy fog. We decided that we needed to stop for the night as the rain and fog was getting worse. We did have a bit of a hard time finding the Best Western, but sure glad we did. The lady at the front desk was really friendly and helpful. The room we had was quiet, comfortable and relaxing.

The hotel is set in trees and vegetation with a stream running along one side. Henny's Bar and Grille is on the same property. The bed was comfortable, check in was easy and the inn was quiet. The building design makes the most of natural light and foliage. The ground floor and upper floor have openings between them to let the natural light from the skylights shine through to the bottom floor. A really comfortable pleasant stay

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past two years and it seems to be going down hill. I encountered problems with the air conditioners twice in this stay. Once they had to move me and then the other time they were able to change out the remote to the air conditioner to fix the problem. However, arriving at or returning to the hotel tired two different nights I ended up having to wait in 80+ degree rooms while they tried to fix the problem when all I wanted to do was go to bed. Also one of the ice machines was not working at all and you had to go to the opposite end of the hall to get ice. If you have reserved a handicapped accessible room be sure to call ahead and double check that is what they have given you. They did not have me in a handicapped accessible room to start out with even though I made my reservations 3 months in advance. If they had not been able to move me my only way to breakfast was to get in my car and drive around to the back of the building and come in on the second floor.

Very clean, quiet, and classy hotel with character. Wonderful beds! Friendly staff. Excellent restaurant next door - Gehauf Inn Restaurant. Stayed one night to break up the drive on the way to the Eastern Shore for a beach vacation. Love it here!

The photo is dated - no longer a pool table - but wow! the swimming pool was WONDERFUL. L -shaped, with the deep end mostly at 6 feet. Very big - plenty to room to swim laps and not be bothered with folks in the shallow part. Need some paint (why I gave it 4 and not 5) but well worth the stay. Also sauna and tanning bed very nice. And people were very professional. Will definitely come back here when we are in town.

Warm, friendly staff. Very helpful in finding answers to your questions, including locating directions to an address. Room was clean and neat. Bed was comfortable. Most outstanding aspect of our stay was the friendly attitude of all employees. Grounds are exceptional--although no a creek with picnic tables.

Picked this place based on Best Western name, willingness to take pets, and middle of the night necessity to stop soon. It was conveniently located near several highways and businesses, across from a large Sheetz, and next to two restaurants which are affiliated with it. The front desk clerk was helpful at the late hour, but directed me to a parking lot entrance that ended up being sealed off for what appeared to be re-paving. That was frustrating late at night, and there was not much exterior lighting to guide one around the building. The hallways were very musty from smoke and mildew. The smoke-free room, however, smelled fine. The lower floor hallways and other common areas have notably low ceilings, so if you are very tall, be forewarned. There are several nice features, however...a cute gazebo, inside pool with lots of natural light, etc. The fitness room is very small with only a few pieces of equipment. The breakfast was fine, although the eggs are patties taste like they were heated on top of the sausage grease and thus not suitable for vegetarians. I was impressed that they had vanilla and chocolate soy milk options. Overall, the staff was very nice, my room clean, and the price reasonable for the area. I didn't have a problem with noise. There appeared to be meeting rooms available, but I don't know how big they were. I would stay here again, but will always insist that it is a non-smoking room.

This conveniently located Hotel features a great breakfast , a soothing Whirlpool tub and a LARGE selection of DC/Pgh. area tv stations.Staff is polite and friendly.Upon arrival, my wife wanted a different room and the front desk manager ( Donna) was quite friendly and prompt in arranging this!

We looked for a hotel on way home from Charlottesville, VA to Dayton, Ohio. We went across Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park and took our time so we wanted a place to stay on the way home. This hotel was very nice and convenient off of I-68 and we enjoyed the hot tub before we settled in for the night.

They offer some nice rooms and like mine, some awful ones. When you check in, check your room thoroughly before you unpack, and if not satisfied demand a change right away. Make sure that the phone works, the toilet flushes and the bath area is super clean. My evaluation is based mostly on the quality of the room they gave me. The staff is friendly.

I come to LaVale to decorate my husbands grave and to visit his family. We always stayed there before his passing. Now it feels like coming home to me. We sat by the creek and just listen to the water.

The first room had bed bugs, second room no air, the third room was ok, but very noise. No pool table as showed in pictures. The pictures had to be doctored up, because it didn't look like any of them.The breakfast was good. The hotel staff was friendly.

The TV, which seems to be serviced by DirectTV, kept breaking down, even though the weather was quite OK outside. The room otherwise was quite comfortable. The (hot) breakfast was acceptable. A little expensive for the value!

Everyone was helpful-The exterior and interior of the hotel was awesome. Very happy with my stay and I do not think you would be disappointed. The exterior of the building had an appearance that made you think you were somewhere else. I highly recommend staying here

I was on the road and need to stop for the night. It was ok. It needs some updating. When I checked in the clerk was ok but when I left I had a very nice women. I don't think it I had to stay multiple nights I would have stayed since I would be looking for a higher quality.

Very empressed with this hotel. We usually stay at a Marriott but was arriving late and leaving early. Did not want to spend the Marriot price. The cleanliness and comfort of the room was equal to a Fairfield Inn, just less expensive.

The pictures are far from what the hotel really looks like. Truly looks little ran down, the pool was disgusting looking the little hot tub area water was yellow. The AC stopped working in the middle of the night and later came back on, the hotel had a funny smell while we were there. Check in was not pleasant, it was a little busy but there was 3 people at the desk and they all seemed pretty lost. To top it all off there was no hot water and the water pressure was so low it could barely get the shampoo out of my hair.

We have been going to this hotel for over 30 years. The staff and amenities are great. We arrived right after a rain storm and there was some problems with the roof in the pool area. I think that Best Western should help the Braddock out financially if necessary to get the ceiling and redwood in the pool are back in shape. Also could use some new carpet or carpet cleaning especially in the stairways and by the doors ( high traffic areas). But the rooms were kept immaculate, free breakfast was awesome . The service in the breakfast room was great even though it was a very busy weekend. Also, the maid service was excellent . A couple, the Patel's took care of our section and were available to us when needed. We had a handicapped room as my spouse is in a wheelchair. Also, the restaurant at the hotel was great as well. I think the bottom line is the price is reasonable for a family to get to visit the mountians or visitors traveling through to not end up feeling ripped off for needing a clean place to stop and take a rest. Hopefully the cost is kept reasonable and Best Western helps keep the charm and class in the Braddock. I will continue to be a loyal patron of this hotel. Thank you.

What a beautiful setting! The babbling brook and trees provided tranquility. The rooms were very clean and décor was pleasing. The full breakfast was good and substantial and the on-site restaurant was outstanding both in service and in food.

My husband and I needed a room for the night on our way south and randomly picked this hotel, with zero expectations. All we needed was a place to shower and sleep before continuing our journey. We were pleasantly surprised here. Check-in was quick and easy. The hotel was immaculate. The room was larger and nicer than expected. And just outside our room were some chairs and a swing alongside a little creek. We were vacationing solely for the purpose of being outdoors for a week, so having a lovely place to sit and relax was fantastic. That this secluded spot was tucked in between a highway and another road was even more surprising. It turned "the night before our vacation started" into the legitimate beginning of our vacation.

Nice indoor pool and jacuzzi, has a relaxing brook running along side the hotel, restaurant next door is reasonably priced with good food. Fridge and microwave in room even though I don't think it was advertised on the website. This is always a plus.

Lovely stay during a long vacation. Breakfast was fantastic, hot and plentiful. The pool and hot tub is as advertised and confortable. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Surrounding area is very scenic and loved traveling thru the area.

We stayed at this Best Western during our 7 1/2 week trip to the eastern U.S. This was without a doubt the BEST motel we stayed at on the entire trip! I wish our travels took us back there more often!

On our recent trip we had a flat tire late at night and barely made it back to the hotel. Staff gave us numbers for several tire repair stores. Next morning a staff person went to the office and loaned us the hotel's air pump . This hotel is very clean, has wonderful staff and a great breakfast!

I've stayed at this Best Western several times when working in the area, this time I think may have been my last. The floor had a mildew smell and when the AC was turned on the room had a musty mildew smell and it became very damp. My clothes , the bedding even the toilet paper was damp. The microwave didn't work and even after I reported it, no one did anything about it.

This is a small but delightful Best Western in a great location tucked next to a stand of trees and by a creek. The interior corridor is lined with live plants. It is very pretty and relaxing. Being an older building, the rooms are a little small and dated, but the ambiance more than makes up for that.

My first trip was cut short. Second one was superb. I booked ahead of time and even arrived early. No problem at all. Great breakfast and indoor pool. Easy access to interstate and everything I need. I will book again next month as I am visiting now on a regular basis. The lady at the front desk during the day is an absolute doll!

I asked for a newer room, I think some are older and very small remembering from past visits.Nice indoor pool and sunbathing/gathering place with tables in chairs on deck They also have some benches outside by a babbling creek which was very nice.Quite a few places to eat within walking distance we chose to go next door to Henny's that has a small outdoor are for some apps and drinks, very good. One more thing they had a free breakfast at the Best Western, pretty good except for the potatoes.

This hotel has been in LaVale at least 40 years, under different names. Since Best Western acquired it, the quality has improved and the size enlarged. Because I visit family in the area, I depend on staying at The Best western and eating in the nearby Hennies Restaurant. The accommodations are comfortable and the staff is helpful.

I travel a lot and this is one of the greatest finds ever. It isn't a Marriott but it is as good as you could ever want, especially being not even close to a large metropolitan area. If you are traveling in this area do yourself a favor and stay here. Very friendly staff (superb), clean rooms, nice ambiance - just a great experience.

Rooms were very clean. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The WiFi was great too. We stream a lot of movies and play games online with others and there was no slowdowns or freezes.The outside fireplace and swing near the creek are a real treat too.. So peaceful and relaxing. Our overall stay was great. We look forward to our next stay at this location.

Very nice, helpful and friendly staff, the hotel has a cozy homey feel, the rooms were clean and beds were very comfy also there was a fridg. and microwave in our room .Would absolutely stay again! Lots of extras... there was a swing outside and a fire pit, swimming pool and tanning bed.

The place is very nice, and the staff was great. However, the mattresses were VERY uncomfortable! The pool was very nice, but the pool area was very hot and humid. There were no towels in the pool area, and the front desk said they didn't have anymore. The AC was a bit fussy.

Oh boy....was greeted by the nicest young man at the desk and he was very knowledgeable and very helpful. Then we get to the room, the room was absolutely amazing, the cleanest I've ever seen a hotel room. They have an indoor pool, a sauna, a tanning bed, and exercise room. Stayed in many hotels and every time I've been let down until now. Can't say enough nice things about this hotel. The final most amazing part of this hotel is that they didn't lie to me, the breakfast bar says served from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and guess what they had food from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and it wasn't just any food it was great food like a mini buffet in a room with tables and chairs with an attendant to take care of everything. I was so blown away how well the breakfast was done it had to be the first time I've ever seen it done so well. I can't give enough Praises about this hotel the carpets were beautiful the interior of the room was beautiful the people were very nice everything was very well kept including the exterior, the Landscaping and the parking lot were absolutely perfection. I highly recommend you choose this Best Western if you're looking for a comfortable place for you, you and your wife or husband, or you and your family because this place has it all and they'll take excellent care of you in a nice nice place and there was "no bugs" I checked!!! I wish I could say more about how great my short stay was!!!

I stay at this hotel 6-8 nights per year. It's always clean, the staff is always friendly and the restaurant, Henny's, is very good. You can't go wrong with their NY Strip Steak, but all the food is quite good and the waitresses are nice. The pool is a nice bonus also and the rate is very reasonable.

Stopped in at midnight halfway to home and the man was very nice! he gave us a discounted rate which was great. the room and whole hotel was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay at best western again

Was the best place to stay on our trip and the pool the kids loved the people were very helpful and will be staying again! We had no reservations and was quite! Look for Best Westerns from now on! We have boycotted others but not here

Perfect location for motorcycle group gathering, with easy on/off the highway and close to some of the best curvy roads in WV and western MD. Good protein and carb breakfasts. Fresh air due to being able to open the windows, not all hotels have that luxury.

Very loud hotel. Extremely outdated. A feeling of being unsafe. Just an overall very unpleasant experience. No windows. Felt like a prison. Coffee machine was dusty. Breakfast room was way to small. Over crowed. Waffle maker and toaster can't be on at the same time.

Looking forward to returning in the future. Staff ( Mr & Mrs Patel and Belva Parker) went above and beyond their duty to make out stay exceptional. Breakfast buffet was well kept fresh and hot. We will be back.

We chose this hotel because we were staying for one night and figured it'd be a decent stay. I will not state anything negative and you can make your own conclusions based on this review. This hotel is good if you plan on getting just a few hours of sleep, a shower, a good breakfast, and hitting the road to your next destination.

Walked into lobby to check in and trash cans everywhere because of a very leaky roof. After requesting a non-smoking room, was placed in a smoking room. Went to change it, and put into another smoking room. Had 2 sleeping toddlers and had to carry them up a flight of stairs to find yet another room. Attendant argued with me about smoking vs. non smoking and clearly stated that we wanted a non smoking with 2 children. Was surprised with the overall ratings of this place to walk into this.

The hotel is not overly big yet big enough to get all the amenities of larger hotels. The indoor pool is a nice option. The creek the the hotel with the swing and chairs is a nice touch and helps to decompress after a busy day.

As a regular customer I've stayed here many times. The hotel has done nice renovations to the rooms but these have stopped short now. Nice rooms with updated furniture, a/c and decor but sadly enough still curtains that do not work, hang partly of the tracks and are in need of repair. Prices have recently gone up at this hotel so I hope the extra earnings will be used to finish the upgrades and repair things that are obviously broken, like a/c covers, curtains, etc. Keep the good work going!

The inn is excellent among the regular Best Western inns. When you arrive at the inn, you see a very pretty and charming facility with outdoor gazebos, chair swings, and a little stream. The room had a king-sized bed. My husband didn't like the tiny pillows, but that was really the only thing we didn't like. The inn has a large swimming pool and hot tub, which are indoors. That is a bonus. I liked the way they decorated the hallways with plants and trees. That was a nice addition, even if they were fake ones. The bathroom was pretty, with a shiny granite sink area. The bathroom fan was rather noisy. The room had a microwave oven and refrigerator. There is breakfast in a room on the second floor. Overall, I was quite pleased with this property. I'd definitely stay there again on another trip through this area.

Wonderfully helpful and friendly people who were genuine, and not pretentious. Rooms were good-sized, clean, and very comfortable. We would stay there again. The breakfast had many choices, and I was pleasantly surprised to find they had bacon and eggs!

They have a great pool and hot tub and a friendly staff. We stopped by on our way back home and it was a treat! The rooms were just okay, but the staff, the pool and the breakfast made it well worth it. Also, the creek right by the hotel made for a sweet surprise!

We only had the opportunity to stay here 1 night. The facility was nestled in a valley in a wooded environment even with a babbling brook. The setting could not have been more serene. The hallways were wide and decorated with artificial trees. The rooms were large, clean and up-to-date. Even the bathroom was large. There were park benches in convenient locations surrounding the property. The pool was indoors, with ample seating and windows looking out into the woods. The breakfast room was large, and a full complement of foodstuffs. The only thing was the eggs were scrambled and powered. Otherwise it was great. And because it is located in a non-tourist area the price was reasonable. There were snack vending machines and a workout room.

For the little time I spend in the room it works for me. If I were in the room more I would probably rate it lower. I stay here because I like the pool and being solo I feel safe. One room I stayed in on this trip had very few upgrades and had a coke machine outside of the door and every time someone used the machine it woke me up.

This motel is conveniently located in the beautiful area surrounding Cumberland, MD. The staff of the hotel and the bar and grill are extremely hospitable and knowledgeable about the area and the amenities offered in their particular area within the hotel and restaurant. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean.

Really nice place, Front desk clerks at front desk treated me very well (Angel, Robin, Sara and Alan). Nice breakfast in the morning. If I ask for something they do there best to accommodate. I would recommend this hotel to anyone to stay here.

-Clearly not vacuumed -Bathroom GROSS: handles on fixtures not cleaned; toilet had foamy crud all over one side; tub dirty (wiped it myself with a cleaning wipe & saw the brown); light fixture broken (big hole in ceiling); non-matching paint splotches in numerous places made it look super run-down & dingy; door is yucky with dirty splotches all over -hotel doors have no key card entry -bed really old..... springs trying to pop out of side! -Can see that the middle is sunken down. Seriously? -Breakfast: tater tots? It tasted like freezer.

No heat in rooms, rooms are in bad repair with noticeable odor. Noise. Hall ways with no heat. beds and bedding in poor conditions. Bathroom mold. Pool area with leaks and plaster falling from the ceilings. Bugs in the pool and hot tub with jets not working.

Rarely do we have to go back to the front desk....yet this trip I kept going back (no fault of the hotels...my own sheer stupidity). The worker was awesome! The room was a bit small, but adequate and nicely furnished and quite clean. The hot tub was splendid as was the sauna. The pool was being utilized by kids...for hours in the afternoon (apparently two different parties) so we had to wait to actually utilize the hot tub and pool. The pool water looked murky and in need of some attention so I didn't feel comfortable...however my partner jumped in and swam and he said the water felt splendid (it was so murky that I couldn't seem him swimming under the water!) Not a big deal....I've had pools and hot tubs and heavy use can allow it to get out of hand fast! I guess my next visit will tell if it's a chronic issue or a random little blurp on the radar. We will definitely be back!!!!!

The only thing keeping this hotel from being a Best Western PLUS is the fact that they have a third floor and no elevator (35 k to install). It has everything you could want: pool, sauna, hot tub THAT WORKS), vending machines, walking distance to good food, nice paths and outside areas to relax in. Cost is very reasonable and the staff is always pleasant and easy to deal with. Internet availability is great. The two minor changes I would hope to see are food related: No coffee or tea in the lobby and the breakfast has little to offer healthy diets. Fruit is expensive but would be a nice addition. The food there is very good and they are not cheap with it. This is the only place we stay when here (separate section for small dogs is very well maintained and not expensive.

Very pleased with our stay in all respects. Clean, comfortable rooms, excellent location, layout of hotel was very appealing, staff very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had very nice ambiance and the food was good. The venue where I officiated a wedding was only a short drive (15 minutes) with beautiful scenery. We would definitely return to La Vale and this hotel again.

I like that the hotel is close to shopping, dining and easily accessible to the highway. Also, there's free parking, and all the amenities you'll want if traveling with a family such as swimming, hot tub, sauna, fitness center and complimentary breakfast.

We had stayed at this property about 6 and a half years ago on our cross country move back to Maryland. We were taking a day trip to Western Maryland and decided to shave some time off our drive to spend on fun stuff, so stayed here the night before. It is located just off the interstate, but is a little tricky to get into the property itself--had to do a U-ee get to the lobby. Check in was handled quickly. I asked if the rollaway bed that I requested by phone the day before was in the room, and the desk person said he thought so, but to call and let him know and he would bring one around--which is what had to happen. The room was snug with the rollaway, but we were only going to sleep one night. The room was clean, TV a little fuzzy on some channels, but I had problems getting on the internet using the WiFi. It wasn't the most urgent need for me that night. This property, I think, caters to a lot of contractors that work in the area--the parking lot had a lot of CSX railroad vehicles in it when we arrived. Also, all the rooms open into a hallway, and not outside. There was some kind of funky odor, seeming like a really strong air freshener or cleaning smell in the hallways, but the room was ok. The breakfast is the usual BW, although did have scrambled eggs and sausages, as well as the usual waffle maker, fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels and English muffin. Nothing extraordinary. Good place to stay on your travels!

Cannot stay here due to smoking. If you have pets you go in the smoking section even if you and your pets are allergic to smoke. People smoke in the public areas. The entire place has stench of stale smoke. Room was dirty.

Well, let's see. My husband and I are both smokers, and while we don't mind smoking outside, I decided to make a reservation at a place that had a smoking room. This place was the only place available. Price is about average for the location ($100.00 per night). The setting of the motel is beautiful, there are a lot of mature trees and flower around it, there's a small creek that runs in front, and a pretty patio you could sit on and enjoy the evening. The motel is right by the highway, so if your room is on the back side of the hotel, you will hear some freeway noise. All the doors to the rooms are accessible from an interior hallway which makes me feel more secure. Our room had a large window next to the front door so we could view the pool area. They do have an indoor pool and hot tub, which we probably would have used had we not seen the same couple getting 'busy' in both the hot tub and the pool. Now, I get that sometimes you get carried away, but c'mon!!! The front desk knew about it and in fact had seen said couple 'in the act', but were too scared/intimidated to say anything. I don't know if the pool or hot tub ever got treated. I don't even know if that could be treated, lol! The motel is three stories with NO elevator. I repeat: NO elevator. I have broken lumbar vertebrae, and after driving for 8 hours to get there, an elevator would have been nice. Ok, no big deal - the check in desk is on the second floor (which is ground level when you drive in to the check in office), I figure I can do one flight of stairs to our floor. The hotel is dog friendly, which leads to my comment about the stairs - THEY SMELLED HORRIBLE. They smelled like animals had been peeing in them for years without ever being cleaned. If it would have been one set of stairs, we could have just avoided that flight. Every. Single. Flight. of stairs had that same urine smell. It was so bad that we were gagging running up them to our room. I'm a dog person, I think it's awesome that the motel allows dogs, but shampoo the stairs once in a while, or tile them rather than carpet. The ice machine on our floor was broken, so we always had to go one floor down and to the other end of the motel. The wifi was out 2 of the 4 nights we were there, per the front desk it was the main modem. They don't offer a discount on the stay as the wifi is a 'free option' with your reservation. We were informed that the gas station across the highway had free wifi we were welcome to walk over there and use theirs?!? The housekeeping service was great, our room was always made up and smelled nice when we returned from our day. They also offer a free hot breakfast (which we didn't get). There is a great restaurant in the same parking lot, we had dinner there one night and it was one of the best meals we had during our stay.

I stayed onw night for GNA class and everyone was nice and helpful. I would stay again. The rooms are cheap and they are good sized the bathroom in a double bed is a little small but was still nice. I suggest people to stay.

Please read carefully the following review, which Expedia refused to publish: When making my reservation, EXPEDIA DIND'T PROMINENTLY DISPLAY I was booking a SMOKING ROOM. Somehow, I missed this very important piece of information, which reinforces my perception that Expedia has a very deficient display of information. Even before engaging in this negative experience, I had submitted feedback letting them know that they should look at Trip Advisor as a benchmark, and make sure that, as clients, we are provided with clear, detailed and sufficient information. I have maintained my loyalty to Expedia because I am attracted to some of the features of their program (special prices and rewards), but I will seriously consider to patronize Trip Advisor in the future. My mistake booking a smoking room nearly ruined the celebration of my husband's birthday, so I highly encourage you not to overlook any details when booking though Expedia. About the hotel: They were completely booked and were not able to give us a non-smoking room. They showed empathy towards our dissatisfaction and twice ran an air cleaner machine to remove the strong smoke smell (to the maximum extent possible). In my opinion, the room wasn't sufficiently clean: it was dusty and there was human hair in the surface of a lamp. The bed sheets were damaged by previous smokers. It made me wonder why they charge customers for incidentals if their damaged items are not replaced... LaVale is a very convenient location with plenty of nice restaurants. While staying in this hotel, we patronized Banana Leaf, Hennys, and D'Atri's.

The price for the room per night was deceiving, I was very pleasantly surprised. The amenities, and free hot breakfast was a added plus also. Would definitely stay again when and if I am in the Cumberland/LaVale, Md. area!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were in town for a funeral this trip but we always stay at the property when visiting my family in town. We did not get a chance to use the pool but it looked great as usual.

The hotel lies wedged between two major roads easy to access each one. The hallways are very open with many skylights along with views of the floor above and below. The room was newly renovated. The bathroom and wash basin were placed against the outside wall making the rest of the room appear to be larger as you walk in. The breakfast is a step above for this class with a few more selections and with more tables then expected. Indoor pool and gym a plus. There is a restaurant next door and a gas station /convenience store across the road. If you are not familiar with the returning to Cumberland ask for directions.

We liked the location, look of the hotel, very clean with spacious rooms, good price. Hallway smelled a little smoky but our room did not. Breakfast was good but the room was too crowded for the number of people in there.

The beds were comfortable, the room was quite & they have a nice pool & hot tub. The continental breakfast had hot food, and plenty of choices for breakfast, but the scrambled eggs looked a bit questionable. The entire property smells of stale smoke, but no matter given the very reasonable rate. It is also very quaint... The Braddock stream runs alongside the property & there are little benches. Next door is Gehauf's Restaurant with perfectly passable eats & Henny's bar, which serves the identical menu.

My room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were pleasant. That being said, I arrived for check-in while it was raining. There were six or seven waste baskets on the lobby floor, catching dripping rain water that was coming through the ceiling. The hallways smelled like smoke, even around non-smoking rooms. I tried to sit at a table by the indoor pool, and the ceiling there leaked so much that it seemed as though swimmers splashed water around the pool deck. Back in my room, the satellite TV kept going out. There was little pressure in the shower; the caulking was sloppy, and the paint along the ceiling/wall joint didn't match. Someone opened the doors to the "Board Room", and an awful odor was coming from the room. I paid a steep price for what should be a $50/night motel. This place has seen better days. I'm surprised that BW hasn't pulled the franchise from the owners.

I love the uniqueness of this place, the hallways to rooms look like a palm paradise, the gazebos outside with the lights is romantic & so pretty. The indoor pool with all the charm of a garden pool. The rooms are clean & nice. They serve a full breakfast. They even have outdoor BBQ. For your grilling needs with cozy picnic tables, benches & even a fire pit for sitting around a cozy fire. It's in the center of LaVales shopping district but you would never know it with all the trees & beautiful landscaping. There is even a babbling brook. I live close by but I have stayed here just as a relaxing getaway that gives me the feel of luxury. If in Western Maryland this is the place to stay!!!

Convenient to popular shopping and scenic venues. King room was comfortable and well furnished. Breakfast worth the walk from room. Restaurant offers full menu at resonable prices. Will stay again soon, BW rewards points will give free room soon.

This is an older motel that has been completely renovated after affiliating with Best Western. The rooms are very nicely redecorated and overall the motel is nice and clean. An indoor pool with hot tub in a large area would be great for family weekend stay. The breakfast is also well done.

Robin the manager is the rudest person on the face of the earth. She yelled and belittled my wife over the phone when my wife was pointing out a bill misunderstanding. Refused to let us know or talk to her supervisor. Finally was able to get an email for the supervisor but it went unanswered.

We've stayed at the hotel several times .This time we stayed in a single full size bed room. Really a bit to small for comfort and bathroom small too. Pillows a lot to be desired.A nice feature is the indoor pool and Jacuzzi which was great. They put out a nice continental breakfast but their muffins (not good) ! Carpets in hallways have some stains,not so pretty! But overall a good place to stay!

As normal our stay was great! Love the hotel since they provide pet stays. We have a service dog that goes every place we do. Every year we stay here over the labor Day weekend for a local car show. Everyone we meet loves this hotel. Breakfast is always good. Use the indoor pool & hot tub a lot, plus the fitness room.

Very nice experience, the room was comfortable. The decor was nice and staff friendly. I would recommend Best Western to family and friends. They had a pool and jacuzzi. It was in walking distance to restaurants and shopping area.

Best damned motel we've ever stayed at - anywhere. Well worth the money. Our first choice always in Frostburg, Md. We use it often because of the local university. Once our last child graduates, we'll probably come back, for a second honeymoon, or just to get away from it all.

We stayed at this hotel for one night as we traveled home from a trip south. The hotel is convenient to Interstate 68 in western Maryland. Located between two highways the hotel is quiet and is beautifully landscaped such that you feel like you are staying in a woodland lodge. The lobby was clean, there was a beautiful pool, the staff very friendly and the room comfortable. With all of the positive comments why did I only give the hotel a 3. We asked for a non-smoking room and the first non-smoking room we were given had the strong odor of smoke in the bathroom. The second room they put us in was better, however, all of the hallways in the hotel had the odor of stale smoke, that was obvious when coiming out of the room. When we mentioned this at check-out, the clerk acknowledged the problem and said she does not understand why smoking rooms were located across from non-smoking rooms. Breakfast was standard with hot and cold offerings. If we are in the area again we will probably choose a different hotel due to the smoke problem.

It was like a step back in time when employees really cared about your stay at "their" hotel. It was clean, well maintained & employees couldn't be more helpful. Landscaping was beautiful & having comfortable tables & chairs in different patio areas was so nice. More hotels should take an example from this hotel:)

The room was nice. We really enjoyed the indoor pool as it rained the night we stayed. Only negative was the wifi barely reached us as we were at the end of the hall. I also felt the AC could have been a bit better but was adequate.

The room was a little small side. the bathroom was tint. The room however was clean and there was ample parking space. There was a lovely indoor pool. It is conveniently located. There are plenty of restaurants in the area.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this Best Western. It is very close to restaurants and Walmart. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. They also serve a very good hot breakfast, and cereals, breads, yogurt, etc .

I realize that some pets are better travelers than others. However, I was told the standard room rate was $62 but when I said I had a pooch the rate went up AND they tacked on an additional $25. My dog is an 11 pound terrier. Doesn't bark and well behaved. I understand charging a deposit until housekeeping can verify the room was left as it was found. However, I am sorely disappointed that this hotel charges more for the the room AND adds the additional $25. I paid a few dollars less than DOUBLE the standard rate because of the dog. This hotel is conveniently located, the staff are friendly but this price gouging is unacceptable. I would give this hotel a budget rating but at the double the price; I can't!

This hotel is an excellent place to stay for the price. The hotel is old, but clean and well maintained. The only issues we had were a non-working light fixture and no coffee in the room. The beds were comfortable and the staff was accommodating. My reservations were incorrect, but the receptonist corrected the problem and put us in a very nice room. The pool is great and well maintained. The restaurant next to the hotel was another benefit. The food and the service was excellent. I would stay here again.

My wife and I arranged by internet a stay in LaVale. Our relatives are in Frostburg. We had a good experience here a couple years ago, so we stayed there again July 3. There is an indoor pool, and exercise room there. There are also attractive places to sit outside in a patio, with tables and chairs. There are also a good selection of restaurants there, D'atri, a mid-priced Italian restaurant with excellent food, in LaVale is a favorite of ours and of locals as well. We had an included breakfast before we left, in which one may chose from different things including making your waffles with pre-made waffle batter.

we love the atomsphere, and the friendlyness of the people. the pool area was awesome and relaxing.the motel was centrally located to alot of stores and resturants. the room was clean and beautiful. However the bed was alittle hard to our likeing.

The hotel is conveniently located to everything and there is something for everyone. Outside oasis - beautiful greenery, with all amenities such as indoor pool and sauna, fitness room, complimentary breakfast. My husband and I have stayed here a number of times and prefer it over other hotels in the Cumberland area. Overall quality, price, free parking and above great all location.

There's a distinction here. The hotel has rooms that are pet friendly, but the hotel is itself not pet friendly. The rooms that allow pets come at a premium. At the time of my visit this was twice the price of a normal room. This wasn't clear to me at the time of booking, so I'm writing this to warn others.

What a difference from the last time I stayed here! It was so bad the last time I never wanted to go back, it had been a while since we stayed here. My wife wanted to give it one more try since they have a pool. The pool was really clean, and the outside of the hotel was well taken care of, no bottles,cans and trash laying around. If I had one criticism it would be the smell of the cleaner they use is really strong. I wouldn't hesitate going back again.

To start we were quoted one price but charged another.I needed a handicap access but was not noted on my reservation.I understand with it being the holiday weekend it may not have been available.The room was clean an comfortable but not easy to get to.They serve breakfast until 10 am but if you are not there before 9 you will not find anything left.The pool area is very nice it is sad that they let large groups of loud rowdy people drinking and using profanity take it over so other guests could not use the area.Also even though the room was great the noise prevented me from getting any sleepI must say it is a nice place and some of the staff were helpful but as far as Best Westerns go this was not my favorite.We travel to that area every other month or so and I am not sure if I would return.Bad experience.

This is an older motel that looks, smells, and operates like new. They really maintain the property and rooms. Don't let the low rental price scare you away. I have stayed here for work and for pleasure for the past 20 years. The rooms are smaller than the new hotels, but I bet you that they are cleaner and better maintained. The driveway is difficult and needs more entrance lights

I stayed here two nights on a biking weekend. Motel & Rooms were clean. I was located near an exit to the parking lot, but my room was quiet and I slept well. I had ask for a room with access for my bicycle and this room was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast lady was very concerned with everyone being comfortable and provided very good food service. The motel is located oddly with respect to the traffic patterns and a little difficult to pull into the parking area.

Very nice ammennities, comfortable/quiet room and front desk staff were extremely accomodating. Joined their rewards club. Very convenient to restaurants and shopping. Easy access to all highways. Very picturesque.

I stay here all the time, it's the only hotel I'll stay at in this area. It's right off the major highway, but it's surprisingly quiet. The rooms are clean, and spacious. We love the pool! They also have picnic tables outside and grills which are right next to the small creek that runs by the property. The staff is very nice and willing to help with anything they can.

This hotel was in a pleasant wooded lot with a stream flowing by it. The outside of the hotel was landscaped beautifully with chairs and benches and even a firepit grill thing.The inside was an older hotel but kept up nicely, the room was nice and clean and updated bathroom.

At our last family reunion [which was about 4 years ago], most of the family members all stayed at Best Western Braddock Inn; we enjoyed some of the amenities they had to offer [the kids loved the pool area; adults enjoyed the outside deck area], and the staff then were very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, this year's reunion, family members stayed at another hotel while my husband and I chose BW Braddock. I have always liked Best Western facilities, and while we were unable to take advantage of the amenities [lots of other reunion events going on], we did find the room comfortable and restful. I do not remember the bathroom being so small at our last visit, but otherwise, it suited our needs. The price charged for a standard queen was decent - definitely fit our budget [especially since we just returned from a trip to Michigan the previous week - also stayed at a Best Western hotel there...did I mention I love staying at BW?] All in all, we were happy with our hotel choice.

Nice stay for one night. Was in a perfect location accessible to stores that were convenient to my wife & I. Only problems I had were the strong smokey or incents odor. My wife has bad asthma so she had a tough night sleeping. Shower fixture loose

This hotel is nicely located next to a stream. It is so woodsy that it appears to be like a retreat/resort location, but is actually close to the interstate. It is the best looking site we have been to. The indoor pool and hot tub are in a huge 3-story atrium, surrounded by a nice deck on one side and trees on the other.

The room was good but the night staff was not much help when I reported the Ice machine broken. They told me to hold the button in but that did't work. then they told me that I could go across the street and they would give me a cup of ice free (it was a 4 lane highway with turn lanes.

We were staying only one night. We were very please with staff and room. Staff was very nice . Room was clean and perfect for us, small but fine for two. We had no issues with room or accommodations. Please with convenience and price.

We were very happy with the hotel and were able to bring our two dogs along. The room was very clean and well kept. We stayed here because they will accommodate our pets. There is a great restaurant right beside the hotel.

This hotel is an older hotel and it shows. I stayed in a pet-friendly room, which is limited to a basic room with 2 double beds even though I reserved 2 queens. Paint was peeling in the bathroom and there were stains on the bathroom door. But other than the beds being too small, they were comfortable enough and linens seemed clean.

Great price, clean room and friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again, but just not in the same room we had. Went on a weekend away with my parents in law and their room was super, but our ac did not keep our room cold enough to be comfortable. We reported it twice and it was looked at, but was just not up to par. Our fridge was plugged into the wall switch outlet so was turned off when the light was turned off and we did not discover this until we were leaving. Gladly nothing was in there that would spoil, just inconvenient to have warm drinks when we thought they were getting cold. Would definitely stay here again, but just not in the same room we had.

Our first time at this hotel and we pleased with the room, the breakfast and the service. The room was clean and bright. Comfortable queen bed and a sink that was of a nice height and depth with lots of room for toiletries. The toilet and tub/shower room was the size of a closet but it worked for us. Free breakfast was very good with eggs, sausages, potatoes, waffles, yogurt, fruit, juice, tea, coffee, etc. Front desk staff were cheerful and friendly. We'll stay ere again next year.

We checked in and found our room - the hallway smelled terrible of smoke but luckily the room did not. The room was great with the exception of a few stains on the chairs and top blanket of the bed. Average stay, we've seen worse. The outside of this place is beautiful, we spent some time outside next to the stream.

We have stayed at this hotel in the past with no issues, however, the hotel is becoming very run down. The lobby has multiple leaks in the roof. The pool/hot tub area is filthy. No pool towels are available once the daily "allotment" is used. . Hotel smells horrible in the hallways, literally turns your stomach. The staff was VERY unfriendly and curt. Although we visit the area a lot, we won't be returning to this specific hotel again

I was disappointed with my room. It was not clean, dust was all over the place. The tv remote was broken, bed linen was soiled and there were holes in the wall near the commode. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. I was given the name of the assistant manager to call and said something about a discount. I replied, you should be paying me for staying here.

This is a great hotel for the money; they have a hot breakfast and beautiful surroundings (it's on a river/brook). I would definitely stay there again. Clean room and very helpful and courteous staff.

Great value for the price, very simple. Some of the room are cleaner than other, however over all it's OK. Employees are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is OK too, sometimes its very crowed though, not enough sitting area.

A long trip with a quick overnight stay. Easy on and off the interstate. Several room options. Recently updated. Large bathroom and bedroom. Grounds are very attractive. Breakfast had several option. The lady in attendance was very friendly and interactive with guests. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel The rooms were comfortable and have really nice views. We were close to Frostburg State as well as Rocky Gap. The staff are friendly and the breakfast buffet was good. We have stayed at the hotel a few times and plan to go back when we are in the area.

My husband and I come here for a getaway once a month or so and enjoy it every time. Rooms are clean bathroom is clean and staff is very nice. It's near several food places and stores so everything you need is right around the corner....

This Best Western in the hills of western Maryland was an unexpected pleasure. The staff was courteous and helpful, particularly when I needed to stay a second night unexpectedly. My rooms for both nights were fine. The indoor pool was larger than the pools found at many similar establishments. My only criticism relates to the lack of fruit provided with the breakfast.

This was my third stay at this facility spread out over many years. Each time I have been satisfied. It is in a good location. the bathrooms have been refurbished. The beds was very comfortable. The entire facility was clean. A broken hairdryer was replaced within 5 minutes of a call to the desk. The breakfast is definitely adequate. There is a nice restaurant on site and several others nearby. We did not utilize the indoor pool, but it did look inviting.

Nice clean room. Helpful and courteous staff. Great complimentary breakfast which was very much better than some I have had in considerably more pricey chains. Well kept and spacious grounds. Unbeatable for the price!!

Horriblly dirty Best Western. Owner Desai never responded to e-mails (except to offer a 20% discount if we wanted to stay here again, which will not be an option!) Tar/nicotine dry drips down the bathroom wall. Security lock gone from the entrance to our hall. No desk clerk upon check-out @ 8 a.m. (they were all out on the deck smoking....gotta love the south...) Employees of this particular Best Western seem to ALL be very defensive instead of understanding and willingness to help, which I found unusual. Again, maybe a southern thing?

This hotel was average. It was moderately priced and in a good location. The indoor pool was an slightly odd color and seemed to be possibly hosting birthday parties for children that weren't staying in the hotel (though I cannot confirm that). Other than that, no complaints.

From the entrance, there's a stench of old rug mixed with cigarette and dirt My goodness, the whole experience was disgusting. From the fact that there's no privacy at the pool, people came from outside to use the pool. I love to exercise but getting to the gym, it was dirty, nothing to clean before you start, no towels, the restroom was dirty. But after the first day, I couldn't bring myself to use it again. Wondering why I stayed, my office got the place for me. Tv was sour for eyes. No fruits at breakfast. Wifi was crap

Enjoyable stay, room was clean and staff was great. My only complaint is that the breakfast room is small so at a popular time it was crowded, but the meal was nice. Ez location just off the interstate and close the toll house as well.

The price is exceptional and the service is above that. I love this particular hotel. Disappointing to have to stay anywhere else. This is like home. I always recommend this Best Western and TripAdvisor when anyone mention going away. TripAdvisor made it a smooth transition.

Everything was great, but we had a couple things come up missing from room. We brought to Desk Clerk's attention and she was very helpful and caring even though we did not get our things back. kind of ruined the weekend.

Finding the hotel is easier coming from the east than from the west but once you are there, everything is fine. Nice room, not terribly large but I am alone. Very quiet at night, clean, good breakfast, a lot of parking places and eating places close by. There's a nice swimming pool, very tempting. And the staff is most helpful. I always stay here when travelling from DC going to Ohio on I 68.

Friendly staff, basic but clean and comfortable. Front the local choices this fit my budget and exportations. Guest seems to enjoyed the pool, and breakfast area too. I would recommend to a friend or family member.

We chose this hotel because it offered good value, clean rooms, and a convenient location. We have children attending Frostburg State University and have to come up for sporting events and other school activities. This hotel offers us everything we need at a reasonable price.

This weekend, my boyfriend and I spent a second weekend away at the Best Western Braddock Inn, and we weren't disappointed. This little hotel offers a variety of good amenities for a reasonable price - large indoor pool, hot tub, exercise facility, sauna and great little bar/restaurant next door (Henny's). Both times we've stayed here, the staff has gone above and beyond to make our weekend comfortable. The rooms have been updated and are extremely comfortable. The indoor pool is rented to outside groups for pool parties. There is a complimentary breakfast offered in the morning that includes a variety of options - cereal, oatmeal, yogurts, eggs, biscuits and gravy, a waffle maker, etc. The location of this hotel is great, too - just off the interstate and minutes from a small shopping mall and a number of chain restaurant options. If you're looking for a way to spend the weekend, you're just a short drive from two state parks (great hiking and a beach in the summer!) as well as downtown Cumberland AND Frostburg, which offer great local restaurant options.

The walls in this place are paper thin! The microwave was beeping every few minutes and could not clear it, the clock kept making noises even when turned off. We eventually unplugged both! Bed was very uncomfortable and pillows were the worst. Went for ice and the machine was broken, no signs. Told the front desk of the issues, they could have cared less. We will never stay here again!

Close to the highway, Pizza Hut, on site restaurant. Pool was a little gray but it didn't stop the kids from having a blast. Nice staff, clean quiet room. Hot breakfast. Waffle maker, eggs, sausage. Nice stream running in front of the hotel. There was a bird nest in our windowsill but sadly no birds m I would recommend.

Great pool and hot tub, nice friendly people. Would recommend the hotel and we would stay again. Rooms very nice, beds comfortable, clean. Restaurant very nice, slept in missed the free breakfast but will stay again and experience.

Resort style atmosphere, great location and value amenities include: parking, swimming pools, breakfast bar and fitness room. Close to highway and shopping. I would recommend to family and friends for a short stay.

We loved the pool and the breakfast. The hotel is much bigger than it looks from the outside and we had connecting rooms which was a plus for our family. The check-in was smooth and the hotel was very nice.

We stay here with grandkids every spring on our trip to DC. Pool is very large and in a fun setting. Pretty average but consistent. I already know we'll be staying there next year. Good breakfast - free.

I usually stay at the Hyatts, Marriotts and Hiltons, however, I was looking for a cheaper option since I was staying for two nights and this hotel sounded fine for the price and the reviews were pretty good. This is an older hotel but it's not bad at all. The rooms are clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would give it a 5 star except the pool area (which is very nice with a separate hot tub) was closed for maintenance when I was ready to go in on Saturday evening. There are a lot of kid's birthday parties in the pool, (based on previous posts AND I found this to be true on my Saturday stay). It appears they keep up with pool issues and I'm GLAD they closed it so it was probably a blessing that I didn't get to use it. The breakfast area was crowded but nice that it was offered. It's the standard fare with eggs, biscuits, gravy, bagel, cereal, and my favorite, make your own waffles. I will definitely stay here again. The price is right, location is great and it's clean with free breakfast :)

The Best Western Braddock Inn was a sight for sore eyes. After a long18 hour drive with a large dog in tow, I was pleased to have a clean comfortable room that could accommodate myself, my son and my dog.

Nice people. Nice breakfast. Nice room. Nice pool. Nice Price! Enjoyable "woodsy/cabin" feel. 10 Minutes to Frostburg University. Touch up paint needed in room. Bed was fine, but no spectacular. I would stay again!

I booked this reservation on the website. We reserved a room for 3 nights, but showed up on Thursday for an extra day. Then the blizzard came. Over 2 foot of snow was on the way. We decided for safety reasons to leave Friday morning and try to beat the storm home. We were told there wouldn't be a refund issued. This was just ridiculous. We were already stressed leaving our son after only after 1 day with him. We were dropping leaving him at Frostburg State U. A 4 hour drive ahead of us and over 2 foot of snow on the way. I spoke to 2 clerks, then Robyn the manager who said she had to be fair & refunds weren't being issued. Well, the fair and more importantly the RIGHT thing to do would've been to refund the amount. This was not done. She said have a safe trip and we left...We showed up with the intention of staying 4 days when we added one. We didn't leave because 2" of snow. It was a BLIZZARD. This was an extenuating situation. We have decided we will not stay at this BEST Western since this was not refunded. It's disheartening to say the least.

Ive stayed all over the United States in best western hotels. This one on this day was not very good. No towels, I brought my kids down to go swimming and there were two birthday parties back to back.

Very clean, affordable. Close to shopping, activities and parks, great location. Nice pool. Full breakfast. I have stayed at this hotel many time and will definitely return. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Room was very clean comfortable bed, hot tub and sauna very relaxing staff very friendly, will def. be coming back for a longer stay. Don't live very far away but it was worth it, everything was very nice

This hotel is a stay over point for railroad employees. Apparently because the railroad contributes greatly to the economic success of this business, they look the other way at any transgressions. My husband and I wanted a nice quiet weekend so we booked 2 nights here. The noise (slamming doors and yelling in our hallway) continued into the small hours of the morning despite my complaint to the front desk. Needless to say, we cancelled our second night and ended up going home early. Very disappointed. Usually Best Western properties and much better than this experience.

NICE clean place to stay with a very pleasant staff, atmosphere and reasonable prices. Easy check in, quiet place to sleep and easy checkout and in a convenient location with MANY restaurants near by as well as the restaurant right beside the Best Western location that serves good meals.

Room was very nice, clean and easy to get close in parking. Our Grandson loved the pool. The continental breakfast was REALLY NICE. They had just about anything you could want for breakfast. Restocked constantly. Hot and fresh. Coffee was very good and we got some to go. Stayed 2 nights while visiting family. We will be staying here from now on when in the area. Highly recommend.

What a Great Place to Stay. Friendly staff, Indoor Swimming Pool, Sauna, Fitness Room, Free Breakfast, conveniently located near highway, restaurants and shopping. We book reservations at Best Western every time we come to Cumberland, MD.

I just didn't feel comfortable. The room was so outdated and I found a bug on the wall which freaked me out. The sheets didn't look clean, and the carpet looked like it had not bee vacuumed. The hallways were dirty. And smelled like weed. The place just needs a lot of renovations. But I guess you get what you pay for. The breakfast hostess was very friendly. And so was the front desk staff.

I love Best Western Hotels and think they offer a great stay for the money but this property in LaVale / Cumberland did not impress me and it would be a good idea to make the avoidance of this Hotel in a new year resolution for 2016. My stay on 12/18/15 was a nightmare !..Arriving late at 1am after driving through 3 states, I was offered a room that had neither HEAT nor PHONE and a manager who advice was : "why didn't you call and let us know about the problem..you would have been given another room " ....Case closed !

Very nice experience. Motel was very comfortable, Staff was very friendly. Checkout was very efficient and timely. The motel is in a very good location for shopping and there are some fine dining and restaurants close to Motel.

Nice room when traveling alone. It felt secure, it was clean and very comfortable. Hotel on premises has great food too! Accessible to business district of LaVale - many things in walking distance. I recommend this hotel!

Excellent place to stay and the price is just right. Free and safe parking, right off the highway, indoor pool, hot tub, fitness room, microwave and refrigerator in room, close to just about everything, free breakfast. Cozy and very comfortable.

Went to Cumberland for a Train ride and decided to stay in La Vale overnight. Motel staff was very friendly and courteous. Rooms looked like they were freshly renovated. Checkout was quick and effeicent.

Spent two nights there very nice setting- room mediocre. No cold water they gave us a 20% discount. Very nice pool and hot tub but because there were a ton of workman there due to them being rained out never had a chance to use it they hogged it all the time.

The purpose of my trip to Cumberland, MD was to take the Scenic Western Maryland Railroad train loop from Cumberland to Frostburg while the leaves were in color. This hotel was comfortable, clean, and quiet with a beautiful swimming pool and large hot tub. The front desk was very friendly and accommodating. A nice complimentary breakfast is provided each morning. A bar and grille that serves good food for dinner is located conveniently next door. The only downside was that I could not connect my laptop to the hotel's internet for some reason. The desk gave me a number to call for help, but it was not important enough for me to follow-up. My only other negative comment is that the machines in the exercise room did not function properly and should be repaired. Regardless, I would recommend this hotel when visiting the area and would stay there again during my next visit.

Just did an overnight on the way to the beach. Very convenient to. 68. Plenty of parking and easy access to rooms. Nicely appointed. Quiet and comfortable room and bed. Close to shopping and restaurants. Restaurant and bar on property.

This hotel is a great value with great service. The location is ideal for trips to FSU. The rooms and decor are a little dated but overall is was a very clean room with excellent amenities. Great for teams, large groups, or big families because it is close to food and has an indoor pool. Breakfast was free and the internet worked fine.

Queen City offers a variety of history, beautiful views, and a rustic historical styles of architecture. If you want to enjoy the area for the best value; I highly recommend the Braddock BW. You have direct access to all local areas, great restaurants including Gehauf's, and a caring staff! Hat's off to a great stay!!

Perfect place for a trip to see the surrounding fall foliage. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and will return again. Outside property had that fall appeal. Inside pool and exercise area was ample. Lobby was decorated very nice. Rooms were clean frig was a bit too cold ( froze drinks ).

Checked in with no wait. Was not given a warm and fuzzy feeling from the staff. The wifi sign in information was not given, which you need the code before gaining access. A non-smoking room was requested, which was received. Most of the hotel smells like heavy duty smoking is going on in every hallway. The room was fine, except for the paint chips hanging from the ceiling. I know it's not a major thing, but I don't want to see that when I pay for a room.

I booked through Hotwire, and unfortunately, booking blindly, I was placed in this hotel. I had had a previous bad experience, so I called to find out about the rooms, and the rude receptionist told me that I had to take a single room, no queen bed, and I accepted that. Went to check in at 1pm the next day after driving nearly two hours, and was turned away because it was not yet 2 pm, they said. I returned after my meeting at 6:45, and was given a smoking room, that smelled bad, and within fifteen minutes, my asthma attack was coming on. They confirmed it was a smoking room, and I asked for a move. They lied that Hotwire had booked me in a smoking room, and refused to help me. I tried to negotiate with Hotwire, but Hotwire could could not convince the receptionist to move me. I had to turn in my keys at 8 pm, drive in the storm over the hills of Western MD and PA back home, a dangerous drive on a country road that I feared. They took my money and refused to work with me. I will never book blindly with Hotwire for this town again, and will never stay in this terrible hotel with staff that have never been anywhere to know how to treat customers. If you do not smoke, stay away from here. The staff were smoking right outside the door near the receptionist desk. This is a smokers hotel, if you ask me, and I do not hate smokers, but I do not think they should force nonsmokers to stay in smoking rooms. Bad business. Bad customer relations.

We've stayed here many times over the past 28 years. This is a clean, dog friendly hotel with an indoor pool & jacuzzi. It has a free, better than average, breakfast. I did have a few quibbles. The pool water was cloudy, so I didn't go in even thought it was warm enough. Although we were in a nonsmoking room, we had to pass thru a very smoky hallway to get there. Finally, TV reception was fuzzy.

I was in town for the Cumberland Dog Show and needed a pet friendly Hotel. This place was a dream compared to many other large corporate hotels that I have stayed in recently. One could sense the pride of ownership in the upkeep of the Hotel grounds and his investment in updating all the rooms. A large indoor pool that would be a dream for the kids. Breakfast was good and house keeping was on the spot and friendly. Rooms were freshly painted, carpeted and new HVAC units. Decent restaurant next door. A new Sheetz being built across the street behind due to Open Jan 2016. Again I must state to traveling pet owners please do not leave dogs unattended in rooms left to yap while you go out. Pick up and bag your dog's mess. We will lose Pet Hotel privileges due to your lack of responsibility.

We used this hotel as a base for visiting the surrounding area. As other have mentioned the property is very nice, well kept and private. Cleanliness was second to none and the folks working there were quiet but friendly. The only problem, if it is a problem and not some type of security, I noticed was people sitting in cars outside of entrance D at all hours of the night. While I didn't hear any noise it was a little unnerving if my wife or the other couples wife decided to head out by themselves. Overall it was good experience and we would stay again.

Booked a suite with one bed and pull out couch for my daughters birthday party so everyone could swim! Very clean pool and well kept. Room was clean, although the shower/bathroom area smelled very strong of mildew (prob the curtain itself). Nice little breakfast in the morning too. Would return but the mildew odor has got to go! Oh and we actually stayed Aug 2014 but I could not scroll past Nov. for my travel date :)

You can enjoy complimentary breakfast, covered swimming pool, whirlpool, gym, and spa. They have nice and clean rooms as well as kind and welcoming service for a fair price. Close to interesting places around and pleasant enough for also spending lots of time in the hotel facilities.

If you want me to be frank, this is a lovely hotel with a beautiful creek running beside it, with picnic benches and a freshly paved parking lot. The room we had was very roomy, clean, and pleasant. What disturbed me the most was the smell of smoke as I walked thru the hallways, but luckily our room was nonsmoking, and I did not smell smoke in there. As an American Muslim I did not feel overly welcomed, and felt the reception was less than hospitable. But we are used to that except in more upscale hotels where global travel is the norm.

My husband and I enjoyed staying at the Braddock Inn recently - location was perfect to view magnificent Fall colors and enjoy Scenic Western Railroad excursion. Breakfast was really good and room clean. Highly recommend staying here!

This place is gorgeous. I have never seen a Best Western that looked like this on the outside. I was amazed and impressed with the perimeter. The inside was a nice place also. Would stay there again. We went there to visit the Flight 93 Memorial. I would stay there again.

Nice rooms, updated decor, comfy beds, lots of outlets! Free Wi Fi, super staff and for a VERY reasonable rate. Same trip last year at the Fairfield cost twice what it did here and with rooms and facilities every bit as nice. Looks quaint and possibly dated but the rooms are very nice with good quality workmanship you don't often find in older motel style buildings. i was pretty impressed! Would definitely book here again.

This was actually a nice place other than the cigarette smell. I asked for a nonsmoking room got a smoking room but other than that no complains. The breakfast was good. You could tell it was an older hotel but has had some renovations. Overall a nice place.

This is a slightly older establishment, but it is clean, comfortable, and affordable, especially compared to some of the nearby establishments in the same class (Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn Express). The only negative is that my room was at the very end of the building and the WiFi reception was terrible; I had to go to the lobby to access WiFi. Be sure to ask for a room that is closer to the lobby. I would definitely stay here again.

I was very happy with my stay both times I stopped at the Best Western Inn in La Vale, Maryland. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I really enjoyed the hottub. It was very relaxing. The room was clean. I especially liked the fact that there were electrical outlets for chargers. The only thing missing was information about the TV channels. The WiFi worked well. Overall it was a very good stay.
