Kunming Green Lake Hotel, WorldHotels Elite

I had a comfortable stay in the hotel. The breakfast was good, with plenty of options and it is well located at the lake. I paid extra for a lake view, and as so often happens when I pay for a view, it was a little disappointing. Yes, I could see the lake, but it just wasn't inspiring enough for the investment. The hotel is stately and respectable, and must be the nicest place in Kunming you could pick. The wifi had its quirks but I was able to do what I needed to do with it. Overall, I had a good stay.

The hotel was terrible and felt like a hostel. Its only advantage was its great location, right next to Cui Lake. The suites were the only rooms renovated from the hotel's past hundred years of history, and the guest rooms were of poor-quality. 1. Hotel Room The one I stayed in was the executive room, which was very small compared to other 5-star hotels I've been to and even 4-stars'. The big problem was that the shower bath had a curtain on it which I'm assuming hasn't been washed for years due to it rotting color and smell. 2. Gym & Swimming Pool The gym wasn't that bad speaking on equipments, but it had absolute zero air-conditioning and you could just die of heat stroke in there. The pool was clean, half-outdoor and half-indoor, and there's nothing much to say about it. The impression this hotel gave me was one that told me I should never come again. They are seriously wasting a magnificent location by not renovating a single guest room, or the entire building and its facilities, for that matter.

This is a very nice hotel. Rooms comfortable and thoroughly serviced every day. Location near green lake was wonderful and convenient. Hotel breakfast was also very nice Not too many negatives here...bar a bit pricey but lots of corners to hide with your own bottle of wine. Would recommend and be happy to go back

Arrived had no help with my luggage. Staff don't speak English. The common areas are grimy and old. Room was dark. Bed uncomfortable. Shower a major disaster no pressure at all. The view from the room is rooftops and old dilapidated buildings. The room had a bad smell like i was sleeping in the kitchen. Garlic and spices and frying. Very noisy during the night. Staying here was a mistake. They charged for the room like a high standard hotel. Stay away.

We stayed one night before we headed back home after a 10 days workshop in Kunming, China. Hotel is nice and in a location in front the green lake. The room is decent and clean with all the amenities. Breakfast was spreading good and the bar was opening late as well. Maybe it is good if more staffs are communicate-able in English at this level of hotel.

We stayed for a few nights at the hotel. The rooms are lovely and quiet, the hotel reception speak some English which is helpful and there's a nice pool and spa on site. Breakfast is good, though a little pricey. By far the nicest hotel we stayed in during our China trip.

Right in front of the Green Lake, this is a very beautiful location. Because I had a single day stay and came from a very tiring trip I couldn't wait for an hour to get my room - otherwise, the staff at reception said they can get me the lake view room. Staff was extremely helpful and when I came back to room on the first day I was pleasantly surprised to find slippers put neatly near the bed and a very interesting good night drink (cold soup). Overall a very nice experience. Will definitely like to stay here when I come again to Kunming. As for the parking, on way out the guard asked for 90 RMB charge for parking (seems like tourists use their parking sometime) but when I showed the reservation on hotels.com they let us go without paying anything. Good experience overall in a very short trip.

From the entrance to all public areas and bar area the decor is really nice. Our room was excellent, with all amenities, superb bathroom. Upon arrival they brought us a nice soup as a welcome. Superb rich various breakfast, great Chinese food. Few of the staff speak English but they try hard to please and help.
