Hotel Damier

With out question the best hotel and brasserie in Kortrijk. I've stayed there on several occasions while visiting family. I love the friendly, sincere hospitality and attention to detail. Don't miss eating in the brasserie, the food is delicious and far superior to other option in the area. I held a private function there for 20 people, the staff handled the logistics perfectly and the meal was delicious.

Dear Team The afternoon tea served is really not worth the price on quality and presentation. For such a Grand hotel we where expecting a total different experience. As wel the hospitality was far below average and truly left us dissatisfied.

Excellent service… hotel was quiet - rainy day. Safe secure car park (fairly easy to find!) good, spacious well appointed room, bed very comfortable. Restaurant recommendation was perfect. Breakfast good and plentiful. Loses a point as fridge did not have water despite stating it would. Frankly too tired at the time to request. Would visit again

Exquisite hotel with old world charm and affordable for a 4 star hotel. Wonderful location. The staff are extremely helpful and help with any questions or requests. Very happy. Great shopping near hotel. Short walk from train station. Wonderful old world charm in very quaint little town.

Lovely room, clean and tidy staff pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good. Had issue with TV as only about 6 channels. Didn't have much chance to watch TV on the 3 nights I was there so did not chase this up. WiFi was good so could connect to Factory and some some issues remotely. Would recommend. I have stayed here before Covid over a number of years and always been very good

The Damier hotel has an historical atmosphere and you will receive the best ever service, whether this is at the check-in or at the breakfast they make it happen, spacy rooms, nicely decorated, parking is easy, try this hotel, it is an experience.

We've stayed in this hotel for the weekend, very nice room, great breakfast and an overall great experience. We really enjoyed staying there. Next year we'll be back. Very friendly and polite hotel employees.

Fantastic historical hotel in Kortrijk with very friendly staff, excellent rooms, a nice restaurant (also for a drink) and great breakfast. And the new apartment room on the 5th floor is amazing (worth trying it out!)

We booked several months before our arrival a suite and an executive room at this hotel. We were attending a fair at Kortrijk Xpo, so we would stay four nights with an arrival on friday and leavind the next tuesday, coming back the next friday, again for a second stay, till the next sunday. All was confirmed by email and by phone with the reception. So, we arrived that friday to check in and the staf member at the reception told us that he was sorry but the hotel would be closed monday and tuesday due to lack of occupation and on sunday we had to move out to another hotel. Its incredible that a four star hotel, wouldn't stay open to accomodate the customers. So we contacted another four star hotel in Kortrijk, just around the corner. The staff was extremely friendly and helped us immediately. So we cancelled all our reservations at Damier, also our tables in the restaurant, during our stay. Don't make reservations at that place that called itself a hotel, because your are not sure that the hotel will be open on your arrival. There are several other good hotels (4*) near the Kortrijk grand place.

We went for business to the town of Kortrijk and we needed to spend a couple of nights there. I heard about the hotel Damier and checked the hotel on the net. I saw that they had a private parking, which is handy in a town. So, I decided to book a room. I choose an executive suite, so we had the space to work and live. We arrived early, so we could walk in Kortrijk, before our business appointment. We came to the private parking area. The gate opened as soon as I identified myself. We went to the reception and were welcomed by a very friendly and professional receptionist, who told us that our room was available. We went up to the room and got a very huge room with living area, desk and a big sleeping area, with a large bathroom. In the living area was a second toilet, what is very convenient. The room was very clean and treated under the COVID19 rules. We decided to have lunch in the brasserie of the hotel. The menu is simple but very nice. We had shrimp croquettes for a starter and tartar of tuna and steak and pheasant as main course. The dishes were well served and very tasty. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was served in a cosy room and everything was available. All egg dishes come on order, but that is fine, because everything is freshly cooked/baked and the service was really fast. This is a charming hotel in the city with very professional staff, which deserves its four stars. We had a room without a view (it is a city hotel), but that made the room very quiet (no noise from the street).

We stayed here for my partner's 40th and we were very impressed. We were made to feel very welcome and the service was overall very good, especially the lady during breakfast; she was absolutely lovely! The hotel lobby is very welcoming and cozy with a log fire and some sofas and stylish arm chairs. The executive suite we stayed in was quite grand, a bit like staying at 10 Downing Street with all the necessary amenities and luxury products such as Clarins soaps and shampoos. What could improve though is some real fruit in the fruit bowl rather than the plastic ones as well as real flowes. It would make the suite feel a bit more luxurious. Now it felt slightly tacky. Additionally, more importantly, why is there no coffee machine in the suite? Therefore I couldn't give full marks I'm afraid. The hotel is centrally located with everything reachable on foot. If you arrive by car there is a parking available at the back of the property with ample space for 15 euros per night. We didn't get a chance to sample the food in the restaurant, but the restaurant looked quite nice and stylishly decorated. We did visit the cool cocktail bar and enjoyed it very much! Overall a very lovely stay with attentive staff looking after us. We would definitely come back but we suggest you take those improvements into account. The suite needs to feel luxurious. Plastic fruit and flowers shouldn't be present!

It is the third time I stayed in this hotel. The rooms are nice and the personnel always friendly and smiling. I had dinner in the brasserie without a reservation and I must say the service was exceptional (especially a lady with the curly hair) I asked her to propose what should I eat and the filet she served was really amazing! Congrats! I will definitely come back!

A ‘go to' place on a visit to Kortrijk. Having been numerous times for lunch during visits, the standard has never faltered. Excellent food in the Brassiere accompanied by one of the best gins in the land. The staff are friendly and attentive and match the understated classical elegance of their surroundings.

If there is anything I hate, it is when hotels can't even get your name right. This happens to be the case with this hotel. In my email-correspondence they spell my name wrongly, which for me is a clear sign that they don't really care about their guests. I hope the stay will make up for this, but it's a bad start.
