Hotel V with its Bistro V in Helsingborg was a very pleasant experience. It is a charming boutique hotel with great breakfast in a charming restaurant with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. It feels like my second home away from home. I will definitely come here again.
I cannot speak highly enough of Bistro V! The homey and quaint environment is a welcome change to many other restaurants nearby! The service was outstanding and every staff member was friendly and went above and beyond to make this a great experience! But what really left us impressed and wanting more was the food. The flavors were punchy yet delicate, beautifully composed and presented. Totally unpretentious but unforgettable none the less. I will definitely return to Bistro V for the ceviche! Wow! A massive round of applause for the chef who has put together a menu unlike anything we have tasted in Helsingborg! Clearly this talented chef knows what they are doing! I will be recommending all my friends and family to this establishment!
We had a relaxing two nights here. A comfortable, clean room; a wide choice of food at the breakfast buffet; helpful staff; and tea on offer downstairs in the afternoon (a necessity for us!) The hotel wasn't so busy and there seemed to be a mix of business and tourist travellers. Excellent location to wander round the town and, overall, excellent value - although the car parking was a bit more expensive. Best Western hotels tend to provide a certain standard and this place was one of the better ones we've stayed in.
Travelling with a dog makes it sometimes hard to to find a nice hotel that also accept our pet. This hotel offers a really good alternative. Located in the middle of the older, picturesque part of the town with close proximity to the old castle, nice parks etc. The dog adapted room is on the entrance floor with no no need to climb stairs or elevator ride. Very nice room indeed! Also excellent breakfast!
The direct feeling when you see the sign as you approach the hotel is warm and as soon as you enter it's accompanied with the warmth welcomening of the staf and cozy interior. The rooms are well designed and the showers have both heat and strenght so you feel fresh as when it's time for bed
Really cosy little hotel. Good style and a lot of fun and nice details. We made coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the morning kitchen, when we came home in the evening. The bed was good and you can choose between two different pillows. The shower head is big and it's a luxury with all the water. We loved it. Central, nice and clean.
Visiting Helsingborg I always use this hotel. The hotel is modern, very friendly staff, excellent breakfast and a good place to be downtown and the harbour. The room are comfortable and the bed is good quality
All attractions, restaurants, shops available inbetween 10 minutes by walking. Charming building well equipped with art and design decoration. Big breakfast Buffet with elements of British, Swedish and continental; very tasty and the best start for a lovely day!
Hotel is really expensive for such little rooms. I booked three rooms, that I travel with my family. One of the room was really bad, and they did not want to change against charge. I paid expensive as the price that they have in their website. The receptionist informed me also different prices to change the room. The Bathroom in our room had also bad air and a bad smell.
The best hotel I've stayed in in Sweden! Super beautiful and cozy. I appreciated finding parking right outside the hotel! The staff was nice and the rooms were clean. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!
Just a getaway and it was so nice. Close to the ferry, trains and buses. Like 5 minutes of walking. Cozy shopping, lots of restaurants and bars/cafe. Go and se sofiero and other places. Bus and train easy by app
This hotel has beds that are much softer/saggier than average, weak air conditioning, and drapes that do not block out the sunlight. Within 30 minutes of checking in around 2pm, I decided not to stay there. I did not use the room/mess anything up, so it seemed that I would be given a refund upon my request, no harm done. I was told that my booking was non refundable and the staff member would have to speak with a manager. I said, OK, contact me when you hear back. I have not heard back and can only assume they are keeping my money despite not delivering a satisfactory room for me. I am giving it 2 stars only because one staff member attempted to assist by switching rooms for me, however it did not solve the issue.
Fantastic boutique hotel! Great rooms, staff and service. Location is spot on too! Everything is on your doorstep. Great breakfast to set you up for the day. Will definitely be back to spend more time exploring Helsingborg. Thank you to the staff for being so friendly
Very central and quiet location. One night in standard db room. Facing the street but very quiet. Room decor a little quirky/kitschy (like lobby and bistro) but definitely nice and functional, except the very uncomfortable desk chair. Nice and cosy lobby. Good breakfast, wide choice, served in the relaxed and welcoming bistro restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Cleaning in room, bathroom and restaurant could have been better. Great staff except breakfast staff who was not particularly welcoming. Check nearby 1959 Gelateria for 1st class Italian Ice Cream.
Nice and charming hotel. The most amazing and friendly staff. We booked the all inclusive special and it was outstanding. The meal was sublime, we could choose from the menu. Wine was good. Beds where super comportable. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. Beautiful heerings, gravad lax and sublime scrambled eggs. Location is perfect. We will definitly be back. Our highest recommendation
We chose to stay here because of the good reviews and we were not disappointed. Booked our room via Agoda however via Agoda, one can't really specify which room you will get, so when we got to the hotel to check in, the front desk said we were initially allocated a basement room but they upgraded us to a bigger room on the ground floor. We were happy to hear of the upgrade and we rolled our bags to the room on the same level as the front desk however when we opened the door to the room, we realized it was a room on street level with huge windows (think shopfront windows) where people walking on the street could look in through. We rolled our bags back to the front desk and asked for another room because we felt if we had to stay in this room, we would have to have the curtains drawn the whole time, which totally defeats the purpose of having big windows in the room. Luckily for us, the front staff obliged and they gave us a room on the 2nd floor. The room we got was really nice, lovely decor and it was pretty big. We had a nice view out the window of the rooftops of the town and of the old red building across from the hotel. We were pleased. We stayed at this hotel for the next 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Helsingborg. Breakfast spread was really good. We enjoyed the selection.
Stayed one night in a large double room with wife. The room was tidy and the heating was adequate. The beds were two single beds pushed together and the room decor was bland. The bathroom was warm and cosy with all the necessary amenities. Unfortunately the rooms are very poorly sound insulated. You can hear everything going on in all neighbouring rooms and from the corridor. Therefore there is not much privacy at all. The breakfast buffet was plentiful but the space is small and cramped and there was really not much room to maneuver despite different slot-times for all guests. It is disorganized and is not safe now that another wave of covid/omicron is coming.
Situated near the ferryboat station is very easy to find it for everyone. The personal is very kind, smiling and ready to help you to accommodate. The rooms are clean, the bathtub from room is fantastic and the breakfast is fabulous. Very near of hotel there is the Kernel, a very impressive touristic attraction.
Charming and comfortable room. Hotel has good location in the city. The AW menu was perfect for the afternoon. The breakfast included was above expectations. Definitely recommend in many levels. Lovely stay and hope to go back again!
Nice, clean and great hotel. Feels buitique exklucive hotel. We loved our room and the hotel and the feeling it gave us. Softer bed than usual, but I like a medium soft bed! Very good breakfast and service. Very central in Helsingborgs City.
I highly recommend this hotel. It is so fresh and clean. Good smell when you enter the hotel. The breakfast is 10/10. The location is perfect, close to just about everything. LOVE LOVE. And the staff you have are so nice.
Stay for one night. Very attentive and nice people. Clear rooms and good beds. Good parking in back yard. Best of all an excellent bistro with delicious dishes and good wine. We will for sure use this hotel if we come to Helsingborg
The hotel is located in an ideal neighbourhood for people wanting to experience a slice of the old town and also be able to walk over to the exclusive yachting marina. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast offers a wide variety of both warm and cold food. The hotel is ideal for families.
Stayed for two nights and and had a great stay. Our room was very nice, clean and cozy. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we slept really good. The AC worked very well as well. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the check in went very fast. The minor issues we had was that outsider the room inside the wall something sounded like a helicopter from time to time, it was a bit annoying but nothing big. The second thing was the breakfast the first morning. It was utterly chaos, no seats, plates or food available. We were very disappointed that morning and did not get to eat a lot. But the second morning we had no issues and were very happy with the breakfast so probably a one time thing. Despite the issues we are very happy with our stay and would stay again if we pass by. Thanks!
Nice central located hotel with very nice staff. Breakfest is good. It is very close to all nice restaurants and bars in Helsingborg. I simply liked and recomend this hotel. Nice sleeping in the beds and nice room
The hotel is located in the city center with shopping and dining just around the corner. A small, welcoming and charming hotel with lots of details and its own style. Kind and service minded staff. Gated parking, which comes with an additional fee, is basically outside the door. Parking needs to be booked in advance. The reception area is really nice and the interior are great and comfortable. Breakfast and diner is served in a really nice area on the same floor but in different levels. Breakfast is standard, nothing more nothing less, even though presented in a inviting manner. The room and shower was spacious, clean and up to date. To some extent the room was a but a bit worn out. Nothing serious, but if you want to be in the premier league it has to be top notch. I wouldn't say the room disappointed me, but I expected more. Perhaps, I've got to high expectations. Also i missed a few things; fridge, a safe and something on the walls. But still, a nice stay and the upsides are far more than the downsides and I can really recommend to give this hotel a try!
This is one of those hotels that has low rates compared to the quality. Really good value, 10/10! The room was a basic room, but it was in fact a large room in the basement and it even had a jacuzzi in the room itself. That was not mentioned anywhere and it was a nice surprise! They also sell the basement rooms as "rooms without windows", but in fact they do have (or at least our room had) small windows that can be opened also. The breakfast was really good and the room where the breakfast is served was nice and decorated.
How can you not love a place that serves perfectly ripe avocados? The breakfast was defentely the highlight of my stay. Juice shots, fresh fruit, yoghurt with müsli and of course everything else you would expect at a breakfast buffet (ie eggs, ham, cheese). The staff are very friendly and helpful. The single room is small but as I only stayed for one night it was mote than enough for me. The shower has great water pressure and was nice and warm, if you like waterfall showers this was also an option. The bed was comfortable with two pillows (one soft and one more firm). The hotel is clean and feels very fresh. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
We spent 1 night at this hotel, on a windy February day, and had a warm welcome. Everything was in order. Quick check in and out, and the breakfast next morning, had a good variety of bread, fruit and cold cuts
Lovely little hotel in central location. Fabulous breakfast. Staff are really friendly and speak English perfectly. Love all the pictures and statues. Beds comfy and showers great. Overall very good value for money. Thank you V Hotel!
This is a smaller very centrally located hotel with exceptionally friendly staf. The suite was specious comfy clean and also featured with a huge fresh bathroom. The breakfast was perfect, everything you wish for to start up your day. And the staff was so naturally friendly and service minded! Will certainly use this hotel again when in Helsingborg, recommend the suite!
We were delighted to stay here with our biking group. Very convenient location to town, restaurants and ferry. The rooms were traditional and nice- showers a little small but fine. And the best part was the service ! Front deal had glasses of wine so we could all meet in the front room for a drink. They recommended places to eat - they sent out laundry for us. We would stay again if we went back !
We stayed here for five days and were not disappointed. The hotel is very convenient for the town and station, The staff were very welcoming and helpful - allowing us to leave suitcases with them after check out on our last day. The breakfast was really good with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was wonderful -especially the chips which were amazing. We would definitely stay there again when we visit our son who lives in Helsingborg.
Have stayed here a couple of times lately. This is a nice boutique hotel perfectly located in the city. Fun and cool interiors, in rooms as well as lobby, lounge area and restaurant. Soon needs some refurbishing and attention to detail here and there though... Standard double rooms are quite small, but ok! Superior doubles obviously a bit more spacey. Once stayed on the ground floor towards the street. Would not necessarily recommend, since windows big and low... Breakfast is very nice and staff very friendly. Bistro V offers very tasty dishes, although the choice is quite narrow.
Not more to say instead...not our last stay at V Hotel Helsingborg. Wonderful place. Charming time in the lobby/bar and slept very well. The service was good and the breakfast did not leave any wish open.
We have found our new favorite spot to stay in Helsingborg. In a perfect location just north of the city center. The staff is incredibly friendly. A special shout out to both Emily and Josephine at the front desk. They will make you feel right at home as soon as you arrive. Wonderful experience!
we were here for three nights while on a bike trip - great base for biking out of town and great base for exploring Helsingborg. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast buffet was really tasty - great coffee.
We decided to visit Helsingborg for local theatre (Fredriksdal) and to visit Denmark (20 min by ferry). The choice came to the V Hotel as we did visit it before. Located in the centre of the city, the hotel is near to railway, ferry and most of the conveniences. What we find most interesting is that the hotel offers 49 unique rooms with high standard, pleasant atmosphere, friendly stuff and good food (I'm judging breakfast only, we did not eat at the restaurant). What I find exceptional is that V hotel is us ing high-end beds, not cheap stuff, which made my sleep a breeze. Other stuff is worth mentioning like 50+ quality tv, generous bathroom. Highly recommended, Hamlet Castle is just on the other side in Denmark.
The hotel is in a quaint area of the city, 5 minutes walking distance to the center. It is a relatively small boutique hotel, with funky decorations inside it. The room was all good, with a balcony. The seagulls ate our snacks left on the balcony overnight. The comfort is good. We also had a good breakfast. Nothing negative was experienced, but we just slept and had breakfast.
This is a charming boutique hotel, conveniently located near sites, restaurants, and the ferry/ train terminal. Breakfast was a few steps above the usual hotel buffet. But, as with another review, the shower was ridiculously small. And friends had a top floor room under the eaves that would have been impossible for taller guests.
Very cosy hotel with welcoming staff! I especially liked the small details, like for example the choice of tiles in the bathroom and the golden parrot ornament on the table in the restaurant. The breakfast was really good, and I also really liked the relaxed feeling in the restaurant were the breakfast was served. Felt like a perfect way to start the day!
Here in early June as part of a group bicycle trip... great location, comfortable bed and room, easy access to ferry to Denmark, shopping, bicycle paths, restaurants. Front desk did an awesome job finding a personal item accidentally picked up by housekeeping (a micro fiber head towel, I have lots of hair). Only item to note in negative way is the fact that the shower in our bathroom was too small for anyone over 5‘2“ tall to fit into (at all! not just comfortably)(27 inches on each side with a 10 in cube cut out on the left rear corner)(slightly larger than a thimble). It's an old building and I'm sure that had to do with how they had to structure the layout of the rooms for a retrofit ... but my husband is 6'4” and basically got the entire room wet in order to try and take a shower. If there are larger shower stalls in the hotel, setting these aside for tall people might be a better option.
Quiet and cosy hotel, nice staff, nice rooms - we opted for superior, turned out to be a good thing. Good location. The others rooms are smaller but just as nice though. Breakfast was nice. I would stay at the Vault again.
We stayed for 2 nights, weekend away. We had booked a smaller room. It was good value for money, however room was very small. Funky nice reception will friend staff, but with a bizarre smell in some areas... didn't tell staff, but they must be aware of it. Breakfast was fine, help yourself buffet. But also help yourself to cutlery, napkins, tea, coffee... we would come back, but will book a bigger room.
This was my second stay at V Hotel. i would come back again. Its 10 min walk from the train/ferry station. if its not raining its a great walk past amazing buildings. The Hotel is beautiful and the staff are great. The breakfast is great and service as well. Close to many restaurants and shopping.
We stayed in the suite during two nights. The tub for two was the best! The room is stylish, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good (fresh products and enough variety). The location is good, close to plenty of restaurants and shops.
We stayed for two nights and were happy with most things. We had a medium sized room, which is quite small and quaint, I will go for one size up if there's a next time. Very comfortable bed, smart “wardrobe” and fixtures which meant you have all the necessities and mod cons on a limited space. I appreciated the big screen TV. The ac and the bed made for the best sleep I've had in a long time! Thank you! Cool little bathroom and I appreciated the big mirror and hairdryer. Excellent breakfast, with everything you could possibly want. The bar at nighttime was good as well. Staff welcoming and attentive. Centrally located. The room was very clean when we checked in but I would have liked the second cleaning to be a bit better, a minor detail.
The V Hotel is part of the Best Western Premier group and is nothing like a typical Best Western in the US. It was furnished with a mix of formal and informal furniture and decorations that made for a warm atmosphere with pleasant little surprises when you sat down and looked around. I would call this a boutique hotel and one with a lot of charm and grace. The website states that it is a refurbished 19th-century building and that added to its charm. My room had a very comfortable bed, a sweet bathroom with shower doors that could be collapsed out of the way when not in use, three large windows that brought in lots of light and could be opened for fresh air and breezes. The breakfast buffet was full of lovely fresh fruit, oatmeal, cereals, scrambled and soft-boiled eggs, breads, pastries, sweets, fish, vegetables, coffee, teas, nut butters, and more. It was set-up using a small space very creatively. There was ample seating and the staff cleared the tables quickly to allow for prompt turnover. The location was central to town and several good restaurants, shopping, and a short walk to the ferry dock. My visit was a two night stay as part of a tour run by Vermont Bicycle Tours (VBT), so I don't know the price, but they took care of our group of 22 without any issues. I used the laundry service while I was there and was pleased with the service and turnaround time. I used the iron, ironing board, and hair dryer and all worked well and were in the room when I arrived. The room was quiet, no unexpected outside noise, and I was able to get a good night's sleep. I would return on my own if I visit this area again in the future.
The hotel is located close to but not in the heart of Helsingborg which is perfect for walking but at the same time it's quiet. The rooms are very clean and well appointed. Free WiFi, breakfast is varied and delicious, and in the afternoon there's a bar for a glass of wine. Friendly, helpful staff. We loved our stay here.
This is an ok 3 star stylishly decorated hotel, but I would not call it a 4 star boutique hotel. The art and furniture pieces are not unique and the rooms does not have amenities to fit a 4 star. I stayed in a single room. Its was so small I could not take a shower without bumping into the wall and toilet. Breakfast was ok and staff friendly
every room has a different decor and is really nice equipped. We had an attic room and could look out over Helsingborg. Nice is the "living room" near the reception area where you can get your tea or coffee. Good breakfast buffet. Not really wheelchair friendly.
The reception area was cosy and welcoming in thIs hotel, with comfortable areas to sit and a supply of strong coffee and cookies. The location was perfect as we attended a wedding in the venue opposite. However, the rooms were very small; the room my son and his girlfriend had was minute - only just enough room for the small bed and nothing else. They found it difficult to move around the bed to get changed for the wedding. Staff were friendly and helpful when we asked for information on parking and recommendations for restaurants. Breakfast was lovely, a good selection of food with home made breads, pastries, a cold meat bar, a cereal bar (laid out in a quirky dresser with drawers for the seeds, oats, almonds, etc.), scrambled eggs and bacon, fresh juices, and every type of tea and coffee you could wish for. My son had lunch in the hotel bistro and this was also wholesome and good quality. We missed out on room service, probably because I was using the room around lunchtime to get ready for the wedding. Overall, a character vintage hotel with friendly staff and good food. Shame about the small rooms, but this did not detract from the cosy feel of the place.
We had booked a standard double room for one night which cost SEK 2065. When we arrived At the hotel we got a chock when we saw that the room was in the basement. A dark room just next to the hotel laundry and cleaning station room. Two small windows looking ‘up' to a parking lot. So we enjoyed our hotel room view looking underneath parkered cars! We politely requested the receptionist to change the room to one above car park level but told hotel was fully booked and she did not seem to care much of our dismay despite my Wife suffers slightly from dark confined space claustrophobia! The room had a basement smell to it. Lots of noice from the next door cleaning station. The upper bed frame was full of old spiderwebs!! The hotel restaurant was closed despite high season? Breakfast was nice however.. if you book this hotel be sure they do not charge you full price and put you in their basement!! The hotel should ofc properly inform on booking if it is a basement room!! We will never come again to this hotel!
Spent 3 nights here, and loved it. Location was terrific-convenient to the train station, ferry terminal, shopping, restaurants and buses downtown, but not in the noisy district of town. The hotel was well maintained, the rooms were very clean, and staff super friendly. Had a nice bar, and breakfast buffet that was beautifully presented. Recommend it highly!
Nice cosy hotel in the center of Helsingborg. Nice rooms, clean, great breakfast and a very nice and serviceminded staff. Certainly a place we would like to visit again ?????? They also have a restaurant by the sea with a great view during summer called Barfota.
The hotel has a fun interior style. It is elegant, but with a humorous twist. The hotel is extremely clean, well kept and the staff was super friendly. The hotel menu was basically just sandwiches, snack and beverages, but there are plenty of nice restaurants nearby. Breakfast was quite typical, but ok. The breakfast room was very small and busy, so you may want to avoid the busiest hour. The location of the hotel seemed really cute :) High recommendations!
The last times we visited Helsingborg we've stayed at this hotel. It's situated in the city centre and the great thing is the hotel offers on-site parking. The rooms each have their individual interior and layout. We've almost always been satisfied with the rooms. Once, we had a room with a tiny shower stall. We already packed up our stuff and didn't care to ask to change rooms. The rooms have AC which is great during the summer periods. The breakfast is diverse and fresh.
I've stayed at this hotel many times and I really like it. Very comfortable, clean, centrally located and the staff are friendly and helpful. My only complete was I did not get my room cleaned one day and I'm always having to renew the lease on the wifi. I've never experienced this in any other hotel. Also the apple TV pairing to my iPhone or iPad so that I may watch Netflix on the big screen. Never had worked, and probably never will. I was there some months ago and it didn't work and I was there this time for 3 weeks and it never worked. It just annoying to show it just to let you know you can't use it. I wish they would fix it right away or remove it. Otherwise it's a fantastic hotel.
Absolutely wonderful hotel, Great service and a lovely atmosphere. Probably the nicest hotel I've ever been at. Cozy breakfast area and nice staff. The bed was very Comfortable and room was nice and clean. Just loved it!
A very nice little 49 room hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Nice design throughout with great designer accessories. Aoude breakfast had all you would expect. Check-in and check-out was super fast and hassle free. Would absolutely come back.
Great room and service, lovely staff, amazing location. Highly recommended and would love to come visit in the near future. Even small double room is worth the shot. Located in the middle of Helsinborg and less that 10 minutes from the station.
Amazing suite with bathtub and lots of space. Clean and well equipped room. Very friendly staff and great service. Excellent breakfast. We Will be back again soon. Regards, Lars and Anette from Denmark ??????????
This is only for drinks. We popped in a cold New Year's Day after a long walk on the beach. Receptionist was quick and polite. We got the cold drinks very fast. The hot cocoa took a while, but worth the wait.
Has on site parking at a reasonable price compared to some of the alternatives. Receptionists were very friendly, smiling and eager to help - they seemed to be happy. The room I had was the cheapest, and was bordering on being too small. The double bed was too narrow, not a standard size double bed. The wifi worked well, and breakfast had an average selection of foods. A good place to stay if you want to visit Copenhagen, only a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the ferry terminal, and then one hour ferry and train into the central station - but beware, Swedish has a passport control when returning.
We had booked the suite, it was very spacious and luxurious. A very cozy, yet professional and classy hotel. Only possible downside is that a lot of noise from the outside, from late night party people, woke us up, but that's not a issue with the hotel per se...
Rather nice hotel with a cosy bar, but very small single room. Good location! Good breakfast ! Old fashioned keys, that is rather annoying to carry around . One receptionist was very rude. The one next day was much better. Waitress late in the evening seemed rather confused.
Great location, in the center with comfortable and good size rooms with a traditional twist. Lobby offers a great place to have a brief meeting with refreshments. The restaurant offers an interesting but not too lengthy menu along with a friendly professional service. Overall the friendly and professional attitude of the staff was commendable.
I have been staying here for one night on a business travel. The room was very comfortable with beautiful furniture. Moreover bed and bathroom were clean and decent. The staff was really nice and helpful with always having a friendly smile on their face. The breakfast and dinner was delicious.
I booked 1 night in the hotel during our travel through Scandinavia. We arrived early, but the lady at the reception put our bags away and even offered to give us a call as soon as the room was available. That was a nice gesture. I liked the lobby of the hotel very much. In the evening I sat down here to read my book and have a coffee. It was very enjoyable. It has a very welcoming atmosphere. Our room was on the top floor in the corner. It was a walk to get there, but it was very quiet. Through the roof window we had a view on part of Helsingborg. The rooms are more than sufficiently large. Bathroom was rather small, though. Breakfast is in the restaurant of the hotel and was awesome. For a smaller hotel, the offer was very varied and quality was high concentrating also on bio products. I keep the hotel on my list in case I come back to Helsingborg.
Great location, beautiful setting, nice and cozy ambiance, friendly service and good breakfast. The rate is also very competitive. Not so good: the large corner room was very noisy as it overlooks a busy intersection and the small room was VERY small, not enough room for 2 bags to be opened. Too bad.
Staying here for the weekend, the hotel is very cute and the room small but cozy, however we had a very bad sleep due to the noise of people and cars when the bar around the corner closed. Closing the window didn't make much of a difference sadly.
The location is perfect as it's close to everything that we wanted to experience while in Helsingborg. A short walk to the harbor, ferries, shopping, food, and culture. It's a few blocks from the beautiful Slottshagsparken and Karnan, for example. Very friendly and helpful staff. The included breakfast buffet is typical Swedish fare and plentiful. The rooms are small, the bathrooms tiny, and the shower stall is barely big enough to get the glass doors to close, and I'm a petite person. The TV reception was sporadic as was the WiFi but we didn't come here to linger in our room so it didn't matter too much. Parking is a bit of a hassle as it's cheaper to park on the street since it's free over night but you have to pay attention to the hours.
This is a pretty hotel in the center of Helsingborg, but be aware that the pictures you see on the website don't represent most of the rooms in the hotel. They have a few room categories including x small, standard and premium. I booked a standard room on Booking.com, only to arrive and check into a VERY small room, that the reception claimed was a standard room! When I rechecked the pictures supplied to booking.com the room did not come close to the two windows with long curtains seen in the photo. We instead had a small sky light type window! Room was fresh and clean though, and we slept well. Also want to warn not to arrive at breakfast 30 minutes before it closes as much of the food will be gone. :-(
We stayed three nights, with our three year old. The hotel is not really designed for children with lots of ornaments and granite tables, but our kid is fairly cautious around hard objects so she was fine. Small rooms are as described. We upgraded to a larger room, for an extra fifty quid a night, which has two single beds pushed together. It was fine although the kid sometimes disappeared in the night between the two mattresses. Breakfast is very good, hotel is very convenient for the harbour, Kanan castle and train station. Visually nicely designed hotel, quiet and comfortable with an onsite bistro. Small, no gym or pool. Perfect for adults, ok for kids. Would stay again, one of the better small hotels in Helsingborg centre.
While this hotel is perfectly located, has a hip vibe and interesting design, our bathroom needed serious attention to the tile. The floor of the shower had many areas of missing grout. This means that the shower cannot be cleaned fully.
Nice hotel, perfectly located in Helsingborg's city center and nearby the harbor and beach Very kind staff, helpful I'm travelling to Helsingborg once a month and feeling very welcome in this hotel. The staff makes it to me as a "second home"
We only stayed there one night, but everything was really good, the room was comfortable (though somewhat tight) and breakfast was excellent! Even tough it was just a stopover for us, we could see that it was very close to the city center.
Some thought has gone into this hotel. It's décor, furnishing and I suspect, a clear intention to have an individual style, are pleasant and appealing. The room was clean, comfortable and well-furnished. The breakfast was great. I had dinner with a colleague and I suggest the limited menu contributes to the (excellent) quality of the food. The staff are friendly and courteous. It represents very good value, when compared to other hotels in the city. I will stay there again. Recommended.
The V is located on a quiet side street, but a ten minute walk to the ferry boats, the train station, the shopping, restaurants and the main street. So convenient, but very peaceful. The bed was great. The hotel is super clean. My only suggestion would be to book a larger room for two people staying for a few days. We had a tiny room, and it was a bit crowded for a three night stay. Otherwise, I would say everything is perfect. When we needed information on the train to CPH, the lady at the front desk pulled up the information instantly. She was so helpful. I loved the little breakfast room and it looked quite inviting to stop by for a drink at night, if we would have had the time. I will come back to V Hotel.
Fantastic hotel great local but most of all fantastic smorgasbord breakfast in a great unique setting. The staff were v friendly and welcoming. Room was good typically small for this kind of hotel and a little bit dated.
Wow... Where to start. 1) Bed: aces. like a cloud. even the baby bed is wonderful (they even put car pillows and a stuffed animal). 2) Reception: Extremely responsive by email. Especially Gabriella. 3) BREAKFAST: SO much variety (liek 7 jams? three types of eggs, endless bread and cheeses, smoothies, etc). 4) Parking: perfect. Even a red carpet and private entrance for heaven's sake. 5) Location: Perfect. 2 blocks to main boulavard, directly in little boutique shopping street. To improve: Room ventilation. They have a heater, AC, and windows which open thoughtfully. TV) Terrible channels. All Swedish, they could use a little guide or something and PLEASE some English channels. Keep it up guys, you're running an exceptional and extremely thoughtful home away from home.
Lovely decorated and stylish hotel in the middle of the center of Helsingborg. The breakfast is really great as well as the breakfast place, you can sit next to the fireplace sipping from your morning coffee. Unfortonaly is the parking on the pricey side and the staff was quiet harsh when we asked to leave the car at the parking untill 4 pm the day we checked out (even when we only arrived around 11 pm the day before and paid for 24h..)
Booked Queens Bed but got a Twin bed. The hotel is covered by small prints and they point out that they are not available inspite of the fact that the booking was atleast 10 days ago. Did not really enjoy the stay in the bedroom
We stayed here in December for the EHF Euro 2016 European Championship. The staff were so helping and friendly, the room was small but so comfortable, the food was so tasty. I loved it. Thank you for your good care. If i will ever get back in Helsingborg, I will gladly stay here again.
Very nice personnel with personal attention. The hotel is comfortable for all type of visitors and very nice decorated. Rooms are clean and have good beds. Very recently air conditioning was installed too. Good wine menu. Very tasty food in the restaurant.
V Hotel is ideal for a city break, individual decor and friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms very small but tastefully decorated. Good standard overall and well above average. Parking is limited so pre booking is adviseable.
I revisited the hotel and was again not disappointed. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is very tasty and fresh. Had dinner in Bistro V also on 1 night and also this was a nice experience. Only minus point in this case was that on booking through Booking.com my request for a parking place was not answered. However, in Sundstorget parking, just 100 meters away, there is a good facility as well and for a reasonable price. Advantage there is, that the car is parked under a roof at plus degrees...
I booked the smallest room and for this, the price/quality relation is certainly the best in Helsingborg. I have stayed regularly at Grand, Mollberg and Radisson in Helsingborg the last few years, but (now) V Hotel has the best price/quality worth for the cheaper room. Very friendly personnel and the breakfast is great.
New owners and new interior to the better i must say , nice staff and the room is great, nice breakfast area and the lounge area is also super nice.Location is very central and easy to find in the center of Helsingborg
Very nice small hotel right in the center of town, shopping, transport etc. We had a nice room with a good bathroom (shower). It is both modern and in old style. The beds are good ans soft. The reception area, and eating area are cozy and the breakfast is very good. We didn't try the restaurant, but it are known to be good. They have a small parking lot in the back yard, remember to ask before arriving. It is central, but a bit hard to reach due to several one way streets, at least without a GPS. The staff is friendly and helpful.
This is very much a boutique hotel. The plus points are the staff, location, the beds and the breakfast. The minus's are the noise (if you are in rooms just above the restaurant) and the curious nature/arrangements of the standard rooms. We were in room 2 which was very noisy and the beat of the music from the restaurant kept me awake until after 02:00, I did have a word and the second night they turned it down.
I will never chose this hotel again. donot suite for family with one child.the bed is samll and the door for the bathroom block the room if the doo is open. please do not use the wrong picture for the room which is not included. thank you very much.
Lovely hotel with great location. Nice staff and clean room. The breakfast was really nice, I sat there for quite some time. I would suggest serving it a bit earlier, 7am is a bit too late. The room was a bit small, couldn't find a good space to open my suitcase (don't like to put it on the bed since it's a bit dirty efter being pulled on the street).
The room has a great design and high comfort level, beautiful bathroom with luxury amenities from Rituals!! Breakfast buffet looks stunning visually, excellent selection and friendly staff. In short a perfect stay with no faults!
I frequently visit Sweden a nd specifically Helsingborg. This was my second stay at the hotel and the visit was just as pleasant as the first. The staff remembered me from the earlier visit and was attentive to my needs. The hotel itself is quite nice and exudes an old world charm while providing all the modern amenities. The highlight for me is the cost, parlour type main lobby, which allows you to have a nice drink in comfortable environs. The spread and choices during dinner is very limited for vegetarian tastes and I would recommend eating out if you are one, but the hotel itself is an excellent stay away from the bustle of the main road yet close to all the main spots in town.
Myself and partner stayed here for 6 nights. We checked in on Tuesday 9th August. Firstly the staff at the hotel had been amazing before we got there! Because we were coming from England and didn't know anything about the country i had regularly phoned the hotel for advice and questions. Not just about the hotel but things like public transport and good cheap places to eat etc. The staff we spoke to were tab and really stopped me from stressing a lot!! We flew to Copenhagen airport and got the train across to Helsingborg but I had forgotten i told the hotel an estinated arrival time of 8pm. So by 10pm they phoned me and ask if everything was okay. I just explained we were delayed. But that was very kind. On our first night we slept amazing!! The beds are just so comfy! We had a premium double room. I would say the rooms seems a little smaller that i would of anticipated however, it did not bother us! The bath in our room was a jacuzzi bath and there was English instructions of how to use it which i particually found very helpful. The only thing i got confused about was the shower hose and i accidently nearly flooded the bathroom! Ha ha ha! It was okay though! Underfloor heating for the bathroom was lush! We almost had it on everyday. Our room was on the first floor and although you could hear people walking down the street it wasn't that loud it bothered us. The location of the hotel is great. We were a 10 minute walk from the station and a 10 minute walk from Helsingborg Arena! As we were staying because of the World Baton Championships that was a very vital thing to be close to! (Although the hill was a killer!! We had dinner once in the hotel and the food was lovely. I had the linguine with a pesto sauce but with no pinenuts as i don't like them and the waitress came back and double checked if it was okay to eat still as the pesto has pinenut in. There are only two bad points i could say about the hotel and that would be the box of tissues in our toilet was not replaced and the shower gel and shampoo was neither replaced but i was not fussed and didn't ask for more as i had my own ???? The second one is we would loved to sit in the bar and have a drink but we only had cash and not much on card and the hotel only takes card payments ??. Other than these two minor things we loved it! And if we cane back to Helsingborg we wouldn't think twice about finding a different hotel! Absoloutly loved the stay here. The staff have been fabulous and friendly! And the decor is gorgeous! Its a shame we didn't book earlier to get the suit! On behalf of myself and partner i would like to thank all at the V Hotell Viking for such a fab stay. P.s your quote of "Welcome to our home" is lovely we truely meaningful. We felt very welcomed into your home. And my partner cried when we left. Don't say i said that though he he he he. Xxxx
We stayed at this hotel for two nights in August 2016. Check in was very quick and we had been given a room on the top floor. Our room was very nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel itself is located in an excellent part of town which makes it close to everything. We had friends staying at another hotel near and it was easy to find it from our hotel The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the main train station making it very easy to move around. Breakfast was nice with a great selection and very enjoyable.
Smal,l clean, and a very high standard most enjoyable stay. The staff were most kind and had a lot of local knowledge. My room was beautifully furnished the bed most comfortable the breakfast was the best eber .
TOP - so nice and friendly staff - beautiful and very clean rooms and - the food is very good. We were very satisfied with it all and have suggestions for changes. Wish that all hotel experiences were so good!.
Service, rooms, breakfast were excellent while we stayed, Also, hotel staff was very helpful and gave us good advices on everything. A tad pricey yet understandable as it was high season. Would warmly reccomend.
This cosy place is family owned and it shows in the interior decoration and the dedicated staff. The single room was small but nicely and very effectively decorated. Small things like a side table on wheels that can be turned and used as a tray if you want to eat in bed; semi-transparent shades that could be rolled down over the window to give privacy from the building opposite the hotel, but still let the light in; a very shallow closet with a mirror door, that could be used for checking your outfit or hair from behind; toiletries from Rituals, hair dryer, iron and ironing board; you don't have to miss a thing. And if it pours, like it did when I was there, the staff in the reception is more than happy to lend you an umbrella. I will defintely come back!
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nicely renewed and the old style was beheld. The bathroom was nice. The hotel is situated in the town center with short distance to the harbor and other interesting sights.
Nice hotel in the centre of Helsingborg, close to trains and boats. Nice rooms and good breakfast. Wasn't bothered by traffic. A bit strange with the glass door to the bathroom, nice with Rituals shower gels and shampoo.
Great Hotel with a very good location, everything can be reached by walking. Very comfortable and clean rooms with nice Rituals toiletry products. Very good breakfast, wide range. Friendly staff. Parking space available, unfortunately no fitness room. All in all very recommendable hotel to stay!
very friendly staff, very good breakfast, top location, individuell nice rooms, very good service, second stay in Hotell Viking, short distance to station, port, busses, hoghly recommended, thanks to the staff!
Excellent high quality small hotel with amazing breakfasts. Restaurant for lunch and dinner if required. Although positioned centrally in town, convenient for all amenities and transport links, the streets outside were very quiet at night.
The hotel is well situated in the town center. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere nice and relaxed. The room was small but it was clean and the bed was good. Breakfast is served at the restaurant on the the ground floor and was very nice. The restaurant was also a nice place for a drink in the evening.
stayed 2 nights, slight problem with parking, sorted out in ten mins Good breakfast spread it was a good choice as a base for our trip to visit a moose park in markards about 65 kms away thanks to evey one at the hotel
If you are looking for something really well placed, not too big and where each room is an individual design, then this is the place in Helsingborg for you. Check in was conducted by a lovely young lady who smiled and made me feel welcome. My room was a very decent size with a wet room style en suite. A lovely Chaise to lie on along with a big and very comfortable bed. The street noise was a little boisterous until about 11pm but didnt disturb me too much after this. Breakfast was good and checking out an equal breeze. There is a small about of renovation work going on at the hotel at present - so beware of that (the room next to mine had contractors in it for an hour or two late in the afternoon....but it didnt impede my stay at all. Great Boutique style hotel - great rooms, nice people and excellent value for money.
The V Hotell Viking was recommended to me by my Swedish business partner I was attending an exhibition with. The hotel is very tastefully decorated and is located in a truly amazing location right in the centre of Helsingborg. Right next to the hotel is a street full of shops and nice bistro type restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpfull.
Great boutique hotel with professional staff. Clean, great location, comfortable bedroom, and fabulous breakfast. In the centre of town close to shops, restaurants and pedestrian streets. Maximum 10 minute walk from railway station and port. Also 10 minute walk to beach area with cafes
2 nights. Absolutly a lovely hotel. Very good situation, close to shops and to the Castle. 650 m from rail station. The restaurant is Very good , and the choice of plates Very various. Price level is ok. I appreciate the breakfast buffet..Personal are present, and lovely...à Very good place
This is a perfect location with a wonderful Restaurant with delicious food and very comfotatble lobby. The staff was very friendly and went out of there way to make one feel at home. The room was clean and everything worked very well. I would stay in this Hotel again without thinking
Great Hotel, location perfect, food exquisite, staff very friendly. very clean rooms and comfortable beds again very clean bedding. I loved my stay wish it had been longer. The only small point was the car park was limited and difficult to find alternative parking so suggest you pre-book parking. PS The lady staff are beautiful I did'nt notice the men staff, though everyone polite and friendly. P Scott
Great boutique hotel in a very central location. Everything is easily walkable. Hotel interior decoration is well thought out and very attractive. Rooms are very comfortable and bathrooms are well appointed. Staff very friendly and efficient. Good breakfast in thevery attractive bar/restaurant.
I have stayed numerous times. The decor is great...rooms so comfortable and stylish. So clean. Menu with lots of seasonal dishes and a great wine list. Breakfast has a great selection. Room service available. Difficult to say what is best about the Viking..if pushed I would have to say the staff...always so friendly and helpful. Definitely try.
The, hotel, while dated in my opinion, provides very good accommodation an a great breakfast. The room, while looking old, was spacious and clean. It needs a bit more lighting. For dinner try the V bistro, the hotel's restaurant. Good service and good food (but don't expect large quantities)
Visited Helsingborg on Business in November. The Hotel Viking had been chosen for us and was modern, homely and the staff were extremely friendly. Rooms were fabulous, clean and practical. I would recommend
So Nice at is Best with a open fireplace and Nice room and at a good Price ...100% i Will come back..!! 200meters from shopping in the center..! Nice staff and a 150 bottle Wine carte. Had a fantastic weekend with the girlfriend at Helsingborg.
This hotel would easily be 5 stars if only the bathroom would have been renovated. Apart from the bathroom everything else was pretty much perfect: - Good location in Helsingborg city centre pretty close to the railway station - The room and the whole hotel was very nicely decorated: stylish and funky - Excellent breakfast with all the things that you could ask for and more; great quality and calm atmosphere - Friendly staff - You can feel good quality everywhere at the hotel: exceptionally comfortable bed, proper bed linen and towels etc. - Very nice restaurant / wine bar with exceptionally good food - The hotel is relatively small, so it's generally calm and cosy All in all, a pretty much perfect hotel (apart from the outdated bathroom - hopefully that will be renovated soon...!). I really enjoyed my stay: if I owned a hotel, I'd aim at something like this as I actually felt a bit like being on holiday even though I was on a business trip. :)
The room was nice but it was a sigle and we asked for a double and the hotel was full. We stayed just a night and the Bistro was a bit too crowded so we haven't slept well because of the noise. The breakfast was very good!
