Nice well kept hotel. Our room was clean and really comfortable. Helpful and friendly staff. Ample parking. We really enjoyed our stay ( only one night) and will definitely return when in Helena.

While I went to Helena for a conference, I stayed at the Best Western Helena Great Northern Hotel by myself. The hotel was one of three hotels recommended by the conference. I chose it because of its history with the Great Northern Railroad. I gave it a five star review because it was the first time in a long time that I have had no complaints, no issues, great food for breakfast and all staff members were extremely friendly and dedicated to providing a welcoming place for your home away from home. It was my first visit to Helena and I would certainly stay at this hotel when I return.

In my very short lifecycle of 74 years ( yes I remember when Motel 6 was $6.00) this was in my top 5 experiences! Holly who helped me with my initial reservation, the staff on duty during my check in and the breakfast servers were all equally impressive! Location was unbelievable. Room was spacious, clean and well decorated. I usually can find some minor point of improvement just to help out the property improve, but not this time. Just kept doing what you're doing! PS “your included breakfast was a 10 out of 10.”

I do love the location of the hotel. It is so close to several dining options and downtown shops. What I loved the most was the excellent hospitality and customer service at the hotel.

Very nice hotel in a very cool spot in Helena. I've driven through Helena many times over the years as a Canadian travelling south for one thing or another but never had the opportunity to spend a night. The room was quiet, clean and well equipped.

Had a great time and a great stay at Best Western Great Northern Hotel in Helena during our Realtor Conference. The staff was attentive, kind and patient. We enjoyed a clean room, everything worked nicely, good job on maintaining a wonderful facility. Free parking, Free Breakfast, Free Amenities in the room such as coffee, tea and toiletries which is always nice. The conference went well and the food was great too. I especially enjoyed the lunches and the excellent service staff.

We had booked the same hotel we always stay at for our gymnastics meets in Helena, but their pool was broken down again, so at the last minute I switched to the Best Western Premier Helena Great Northern Hotel. It was $30 more expensive than our previous hotel, but I figured that divided by four family members, it would be worth it. When we arrived at the downtown location, it was charming to see all the little shops and buildings together, with the welcoming outdoor fireplace and courtyard area announcing our hotel. Our room was beautiful, and overlooked the courtyard. We were sorry that there was no hot tub, but the kids enjoyed the pool. We were able to walk next door to see a movie at the Cinemax, and many good eateries were also within a short walk from our room. Additionally, it was only a short drive to the Fairgrounds for gymnastics, and to the Cathedral for Mass. We will definitely stay here again!

Hotel staff was very courteous and accommodating. We were able to gather in their large comfortable lobby area and visit with a group of other family members. Our room was very clean and quiet.

A very nice hotel close to the airport. The free shuttle to and from the hotel is a plus. The lobby is clean and inviting. The staff was fantastic. My room was ready and clean. My only issue was with some of the utilities. ALL the electric outlets in the room need to be replaced as none of my plugs would stay inserted. Luckily I had an adapter with me that I could physically spread the plug tines out a bit to get it to stay inserted. The other issue was the hot water in the sink- very limited to non existent. These are minor inconveniences. The breakfast was outstanding and coffee is available early. The restaurant attached to the lobby was also very good- good service and food. Over all a solid 4. Would definitely stay again.

Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay. The location is amazing, the service is top-notch, and the breakfast was wonderful every single day. My only suggestions would be to improve the coffee and consider renovating the pool area to include a hot tub, it looks like there may have been one at some point that was covered. Aside from that, we had such a fun stay, and the steakhouse on site was absolutely incredible.

This was our first time staying at this hotel. My husband and I and 2 small dogs stayed in one of their pet friendly rooms. It was spacious but more importantly VERY CLEAN. And beds were amazingly comfortable! The hotel is situated in a lovely area with a variety of restaurants, a movie theater and even an ice cream shop with an indoor carousel, all within walking distance. A gem of a place! Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights. Our stay was wonderful, the 3 team members (2 receptionists & 1 housekeeper) we dealt with were exceptional. The only issue we encountered was the shower head dribbled, it didn't work properly but it wasn't enough to make us complain. We would return without a moment's hesitation. The location is perfect, it's quiet, it's safe, with essentials close spacious.

Was a wonderful experience. All the staffs hospitality was above and beyond! The breakfast staff went the extra mile and made my daughter and I a road bag of healthy snacks for the road. As the weather was bad and I was concerned about the drive home. The front desk employees were friendly to customers and other staff members. Overall it seems like everyone working enjoyed their jobs! Makes a huge difference from a customer point of view!

Wonderful stay in Helena! We enjoyed our stay for one night. Very clean and cozy. Breakfast plenty of options and was very fresh. Extremely easy check-in and check-out process. Really convenient via text message to upload check-in information so all we had to do was go to the check-in desk and pick up the room key. Free parking and easily walkable to Brewhouse Pub and Grille for dinner. Resturant connected to the restaurant, Star Steak and Grille, has great drinks.

If you wish to have a top class hotel to stay in Helena Mt this is the place. From when you walk into the front doors you know you are welcomed. The front desk personnel are polite and helpful. After your checkin and you enter your room you feel at home. The bed is very comfortable and the shower head is A1. After a good night's sleep enjoy their breakfast, they have a great pancake maker. Don't hesitate to stay here. I rate this hotel at 110%. The hotel is right downtown and is within walking distnce to Helena's old town. Don't forget theÿ offer shuttle service to and from the airport. Best travels, A++++++

Great hotel in a great location. Very nice rooms, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and was surprised to find real bacon and fresh scrambled eggs along with all the normal offerings. Attached bar and restaurant, Silver Star, is also very nice. Great area for walking and attractions.

This is THE place to stay. I visit Helena often for business, and this is my go-to hotel whenever I can get a room. The service is impeccable, the rooms are very nice, and the conference center is well-appointed. The attached Silver Star restaurant is great if you want some upscale food and beverages. It's a quick walk to some other dining options, and less than a mile from the Last Chance Gulch downtown area with restaurants, breweries, shopping, and more. Five stars indeed. Have stayed dozens of nights here, and will be back for more.

This is a great hotel! We stayed a couple of nights as part of our road trip. The reception area is lovely: welcoming staff and comfortable areas to sit. Our room was huge, with two queen beds, superb amenities and tasteful decor. Delicious breakfast and the pool area is good too. Lots to see and do in and around the downtown area, and further afield. We had drinks and food across the street at The Brewhouse, which is very handy. Thoroughly enjoyed it all!

Wanted something centrally located. This was perfect for our short stay. Had connecting rooms for a party of 5. Staff was super helpful with recommendations around town, printed out maps for us. Breakfast in the morning had a great selection of assorted fresh fruits, cereal, breads, eggs, meats. Actually liked the BK more than the restaurants went to. Rooms were nice clean and big, beds are comfy.

We really enjoyed our overnight at the Best Western Great Northern Premier in Helena. All facilities are clean and comfortable. The parking area in the back is more accessable to the hotel than the one in front, but it is smaller. Breakfast is very good, with a variety of options - I liked the apple danish best. We were surprised by the snowfall that was going great already in early morning. This enhanced the beautiful area.

It's a great location for ease of walking to a variety of fun activities and businesses. The atmosphere is beautiful. It is peaceful both in the lobby, dining room, conference area and guest suites. The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated. The price is a little higher than some BW locations but I guess given its location the value is comparable.

Our recent stay was absolutely perfect! From check-in to check-out, every staff member was so kind, rooms were spacious and comfortable, and location was convenient to downtown and college campus. We'll definitely stay here again as everyone seemed to go above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.

This is an excellent hotel with spacious rooms, including a wet bar, fridge and microwave. We enjoyed the comfort of our king sized room and the hotel's convenience to restaurants. Parking is across the street (for no charge) in the hotel's parking lot.

Our check in with Emma was outstanding. She helped us get an extra space for our trailer and was extremely patient with the gift cards I was using. The room was perfect and had a view of the Cathedral which was the reason for our visit. Highly recommend.

It was such a great stay at the Best Western Premier in Helena. I was there performing with the Helena Symphony and it was just relaxing to stay in this hotel. The staff was very helpful and everything was perfectly clean. Also the location was great - walking distance from a lot of nice places and around 5 minutes to go for a hike. The room was spacious and ready on time, after a long travel. Would recommend it for sure :)

Checked into this “dog friendly” hotel, were promptly told dogs cannot be left alone in the room; this is not dog friendly. We were given a room in the lower level/basement (lovely, I know!) because according to the front desk it has close/easy access to the outside. False: it requires walking up a flight of stairs to access the outside. This is not dog friendly. Front desk was unable to furnish a list of dog friendly area restaurants. This is not dog friendly.

We enjoyed our three day stay at Premier Northern Best Western in Helena. This is the third time we've stayed here. The front desk was cheerful and helpful in honoring special requests. Rooms are clean and quiet. Breakfast offers a good variety of choices. We will return.

This hotel offered a good location for our visit to Helena. It is a nice hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. The lobby area and rooms are clean and well maintained although our bed was not comfortable. The breakfast was above average but the overall value was not great - high price for a good hotel. Also we visited what was supposed to be the pool/ hot tub area and found the hot tub had been decked over and was no longer in use. We did notice this was listed as an amenity of the hotel - disappointing.

Great Northern Best Western Premier is a GEM!!! Truly a lovely, friendly, uniquely Montana experience. The rooms are big, clean, and welcoming- with all the amenities one could want. From the moment you walk into the classic western motif of the lobby, you know it's going to be good. . . And, there is a wonderful restaurant right on the hotel: The Silver Star Steakhouse. Eat there if you have the time-so good! If you don't have the time, at least take advantage of the free breakfast spread; there are many choices from which to choose. Many great choices for every taste. And lastly, the staff from start to finish were very friendly and yet professional to a T!

I'm sorry to stem the tide of positive reviews for Best Western Premier Helena, but this is a clear case of overrating. First, there is nothing “downtown” about its location. That's false advertising. If you're set on a Best Western, you might as well save 40-50% by staying at the newer hotel in town – either way, a car is required to drive to the prime walking area of Helena with the cute restaurants and shops. Even though we are a BW diamond member, the special upgraded room assigned to us had a fogged out window obstructing a view of the parking lot, an un-programable clock that insisted on showing the wrong time, and no balcony. Thankfully the bed was very comfortable. Cherry Wonderdog was especially disappointed by the staff. Those at the front desk were agonizingly slow, ineffective, and learning on the job. Clearly, there was a lot done by the hotel to reach the prestigious pinnacle of being a Premier hotel, but most of it was a facade, like extra idle staff wandering the halls or hanging out in the lobby, a limited supply of cookies at the front desk in the evening, and an unattractive though generously-sized indoor pool (no jacuzzi) rather than something sun-flashed and enclosed by glass like our BW in Dillon. The icing on the cake was breakfast. One would have expected it to be quite good. Instead, the coffee was weak, the prepared food items extremely salty, and fruit and bread items limited. There were a few supposedly local muffins triple-wrapped in plastic wrap, but nothing open aired and fresh. Croissants – not a chance! At least there was oatmeal. Which leads to the final experience on our last morning when we tried to get breakfast a few minutes early. We needed to be on the road at 7 AM, and Saturday's breakfast didn't officially begin until that time. We called the night before to see if there could be any accommodations, but the front desk gal said we just had to wait. In the morning, Cherry Wonderdog entered the dining area at 6:50 AM and discretely served a bowl of oatmeal, only to be accosted by the restaurant manager. “You need to get out of here right now,” he said. Surprisingly, even after I explained the circumstances and that we didn't mind that a few other food items hadn't been prepared since we only wanted the oatmeal, there was still no lenience. The apparent issue was that if he made an exception for one, all hell would break loose. The front desk understood my “concern” and said it would talk to the restaurant manager later, but there was no apology or attempt to make things right. For over $300 a night, I expected more, a LOT more, and I certainly didn't appreciate being treated like a criminal by someone with a postal complex wishing to exert his authority over out-of-town guests. Good hospitality means treating folks with respect, making exceptions AND accommodations, and going the extra mile to ensure satisfaction. This is especially true for an establishment charging top dollar. Cherry Wonderdog gives Best Western Premier Helena two paws down: way overpriced yet embarrassingly cheap in both substance and service!

This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. They claim they are a pet friendly hotel and charge you if a dog barks. It's extremely overpriced for the amenities, the air conditioning barely works in the room for paying over 250 a night. I would highly recommend staying anywhere else in Helena if you want to have a pleasant time. Especially if you are trying to have a dog with you.

Nice setting in the Great Northwest Center. Rooms were comfortable. Staff was very helpful. I would stay there again if I return to Helena Montana. Chocolate chip cookies at reception desk were great. Coffee in the lobby is always a welcome treat.

Was in a pinch and had to stay in Helena unexpectedly. The staff was more than accommodating and went above and beyond exceeding expectations-especially Carter. Of all the hotels I've stayed in, this has been my best experience. The room was cozy, everything was clean. Decor is well designed throughout the hotel and the quiet lobby music is calming. I would come back to Helena just to stay at this hotel

The staff was so helpful. Every time I called they answered my questions. We were there for graduation and it was the perfect location. Walking distance to the Stadium and the downtown activities. A lot of restaurants, bars and breweries all very walkable.

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic facilities, beautiful decor. The airport shuttle was an additional bonus for us having just travelled 34 hours door to door from the UK and arriving at Helena Airport at 23:00hrs. We would 100% stay again and cannot thank the staff enough for making our stay as great as it could be.

I stayed in the hotel for 4 nights and I don't have a single complaint. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The refrigerator was a nice size, microwave worked well, and there was a variety of tea's and coffee in the room. They even supplied bottled water for the Keurig. Being from AZ I was surprised when it snowed but they also supplied an umbrella in the room for such occasion. The complimentary breakfast was good, fresh eggs and a wide variety of choices which were all tasty. The staff was amazing and even called my room to make sure there wasn't anything else I needed.

The Best Western premier is my favorite in Helena, Montana. The staff there is amazing and helpful with a great location and very clean and modern facility. Had a room with French doors right out to the pool. We also use the meeting rooms while there and the staff was very due diligent to make sure that we had everything necessary. This hotel never disappoints. In the heart of Helena this hotel offers a wonderful stay after a long day of driving travel. Conveniently located in downtown Helena and has an attached upscale restaurant for dining. The rooms are quiet and the beds and linens are extremely comfortable. All the amenities certainly met our needs. The on site restaurant offers excellent meal options as well as a robust bar menu!

The room was comfortable, very roomy! The bed is very nice with a good selection of pillows to choose from. The hotel is very up-to-date and the self serve breakfast was good. The staff is friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel. If anything could be improved it's the lighting in the room -- they have scattered ceiling lights and table lamps but still the room was pretty dark for these old eyes to get ready with the privacy blinds closed.

We had an overnight stop here and really enjoyed the hotel. Easy to find in downtown Helena and in a nice situation next to the science museum and water features. We had a big corner suite with balcony windows. Clean and comfortable. We ate at the Sushi place a few hundred meters away and recommend that.

BWP-Great Northern is the best hotel in Helena. The rooms are large and clean. Bathrooms are very big - a lot of counter space and the tub drains (that's a big thing for me.) Full-size closets - safe, iron/board, plenty of hangers and extra pillows too. Large full-size liquid hand wash, lotion, shampoo, cond, and body wash. Beds are more comfortable than mine at home!! I sleep all through the night every time I stay. Bonus - there are plug-ins in the parking lot for the below-zero temps in the winter. Breakfast is great. Restaurant attached is really good - awesome for after work drinks. Walkable to great shopping. We walked to the LCG Walking Mall (in 8"of snow in Feb!!) The staff is so great - very nice and accommodating. I even put work letters in their outgoing mail - just great people.

I had a fantastic stay at Best Western Premier Helena. The staff was welcoming and helpful, always ready to assist with anything I needed. My room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, making it a comfortable base to explore the city. The included breakfast was a great perk--in addition to the cooked options, the fruit cups were my go to! The location was excellent, making it easy to explore the area. Overall, a great experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

I stay at the Great Northern whenever I am staying over in Helena. Always clean and neat and the staff is great. This stay was for a trade convention which ran great. The food at the convention was very good. The connected Silver Star restaurant is a very nice amenity. Beds are very comfortable.

Stayed here for 1 night right before Christmas. We booked a standard room with 2 Queen beds through Expedia, and ended up in a plush, beautiful and very large room. It was clean, comfortable, and so well put together. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast included in the rate was tasty, fresh and hot (typical Best Western buffet). Parking was on the nearby parking lot (visible from our room). Location is very walkable to all that Helena has to offer - few minutes to get to the walking mall with all its restaurants, etc. We had a very good stay here, highly recommended!

Not only is this hotel a fantastic one with lovely rooms, I have never experienced a hotel with such professionalism from every staff member. Maintenance, maid service, front desk, dining and cooking staff. All that we encountered (we were there 8 days), were professional, friendly, informative, and went above and beyond to make sure their guests were taken care of. The unity of the staff, the pride in their work, the common goal was taking care of the guest and making their stay a comfortable and friendly one. The cleanliness was as if they deep clean every day. We witnessed staff cleaning baseboards and doorways in the hallway. Even the stairwells were immaculate. Maid service was always attentive to every detail, making sure our room was restocked daily. Our breakfast was always amazing with a large variety of food, even for gluten free or non diary diets. All staff were kind, personable and professional. Everyone there made us feel like family. I have never seen such unity in spirit and professionalism in any business as I have seen in this one. Which makes our stay a highly enjoyable one, knowing we were always being taken care of, and our wants and needs were their priority! You cannot go wrong in choosing this place. Very highly recommended!

I was in town for a work trip for one evening, from the beginning of my booking they were more than accommodating with an early check in. The facility itself is in good shape and was clean. The pool and gym were both clean and easy to access and use. The room was spacious with fridge/freezer, coffee maker, and microwave. Bedding was soft and cozy. The only thing that I didn't love was that the bed was a bit soft for my back, but that's pure personal preference. I can't fault anyone for something like that detail. Location was in a nice little area with an attached restaurant/bar and a few other decent restaurants in walking distance (within a block or two). Breakfast was surprisingly fresh tasting and the employee that was making it was incredibly friendly- she even asked some other guests that were staying longer what meats they wanted made the next morning. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Helena.

Nice hotel in the middle of Helena. A lot of restaurants, entertainment, offices, and Carroll College are with walking distance. Breakfast is good. The daily Montana cookies are fun. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Entering the lobby I was concerned that the rooms would be outdated but I was pleasantly surprised that the room was recently remodeled. It was modern, clean and roomy. I had dinner both mornings and was also pleasantly surprised. The food was good but even more impressive was the level of service. The gentleman working was diligent about keeping things stocked and clean. He was pleasant, greeting every individual that walked in. I will definitely stay here again!

Great Hotel. Helpful staff. Very professional. Quiet, clean, great location. Marti runs a great operation. Breakfast is good, lots of variety. We stay here several times a year and it is always cosistent. Good steak house attached to hotel. Several good resturants close by.

Great front desk people. Very helpful! Rooms were very clean and beds very comfortable. The breakfast was much better than I was expecting for a standard "hotel breakfast." They had a large variety of foods and it was all exceptional. One of the best features is there is a top rated steak restaurant with a great bar next door and there is a really good Pub with great burgers next door as well. No driving!

This is a nice hotel tucked away in the historic district of Helena. We stayed in the mini suite and had a great view of the fountains and carousel below. It is close to the Last Chance Gulch for shopping and dining. Staff was very friendly and the complimentary breakfast was great with a full selection of foods. The room was very clean and came with complimentary water and a safe.

Location was great to walk to Capital, Cathedral, Governor's mansion and shops and restaurants very clean and breakfast was better with the homemade salsa for the scrambled eggs Beautiful historical lobby with train theme. Close to brewery and staff was very helpful and made you feel welcomed. We would stay here again next time we are in Helena

Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff couldn't have been more helpful, professional and friendly. Our room was great; quiet and nicely appointed. The bed was the best of our trip. It was nice to come back to our room and relax after a busy day. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Helena.

The Great Northern is so much more than a hotel it is a destination. Be forewarned! We are biased because we have stayed here enough to know they are very consistent and it is Great every time. We kinda plan our trips to somehow go through Helena. The staff here is really helpful and steps up. Anytime we have had an issue it was addressed. The location is great and there is something for most people. There is a lot to see/do/eat/drink in walking distance. The rooms are clean and comfortable.The breakfast room is better than any we have been in anywhere. The selections are many and will accommodate most needs. The House Blend coffee is very good! I wish I made coffee that good at home. It you have kids that you can get out of the pool (They have poolside rooms that open into the pool area. Wish I knew this when the grandkids were little.) Take them down to the Great Northern Carousel. They sell really good ice cream along with the rides. Follow the path down through the tunnel over to the park on the other side of Lyndale Ave. Last time we took a walk over there we watched a Rugby practice. Don't miss going to the Capitol or Mass at the Cathedral. Always check out events at the Lewis And Clark County Fairgrounds. There is a lot to do in Helena (They have a Costco) and something for just about everyone. And stay at the The Great Northern so when you need a break! You have a GREAT place to stay! Highly recommend!

A great hotel situated in a lovely area of Helena. Their free breakfast was outstanding and instead of using Styrofoam or disposable plates, they utilized China plates and actual silverware. their breakfast menu varied each day and always delicious. in addition, their airport shuttle was not restricted to certain hours. Rooms were clean and comfortable. and each evening they had delicious iced cookies which were shaped like the state of Montana.

Terrific stay. Great location. Quiet - Hotel was nearly full, but I never heard a peep from any other guests. Several restaurants in easy walking distance. Free shuttle from airport. Hotel allowed me to check in early and held my bags for several hours after I checked out. Emma at the front desk was the sweetest ever.

This hotel was perfect for a couple of nights on our road trip. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff at the front desk were some of the nicest people. Breakfast was plentiful, with a lot of variety and good coffee. The location couldn't be better. We were able to walk to dinner both nights, and ride our bikes from the hotel all around town. (Don't miss seeing the State Capital! ) We parked our truck in the parking lot, which felt very safe with our bikes on the back. We would stay here again!

The hotel needs to be gutted. Got to the room and couldn't breathe because of the mold. I could taste on my tongue and throat for hours after we left. My wife kept coughing after a few minutes in the room. We checked in and checked out. The hallways smelled musty. No one should stay here before it is updated. They should be ashamed.

This beautiful hotel is an exceptional location in Helena, with restaurants, downtown area and movie theater within easy walking distance. The front desk staff are outstanding. They are friendly and very helpful answering all questions, ensuring our stay was great. The room was spacious, with luxurious linens and plenty of amenities. The daily breakfast was very good, with lots of choices to satisfy all tastes. It was great having an onsite laundry facility. I am so happy about chosing this beautiful hotel to stay in. Everything was so clean and perfectly put and everybody working here was so personable, friendly, helpful and accomodating. There is no where else Id consider staying. I'm hoping to come back and do some serious hiking on my next trip.

The staff were superb. Very friendly and efficient. They knew the city and surrounding area and were able to give me excellent ideas of what to see. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is situated within walking distance of all the city sights. Rooms and facilities are of a very good standard, as is the breakfast.

We stayed 4 nights in this excellent hotel. Front desk staff were superb, notably Kyeler. Parking was safe and secure and our room was quiet, had great views and was spacious and super-comfortable. The raid we paid represented good value and the hotel is very well situated for getting around the lovely city.

The staff (cleaning crew/reception/manager) are awesome - friendly, kind, helpful, attentive and good at what they do. I reserve several weeks in advance and they are most gracious about any changes I have to make. Any reasons requests that I make they accommodate.

The hotel is lovely. Room was clean, and fresh. Breakfast was great - options for hot or cold meals, coffee selection of dark or light roast. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is great! Immediately next to the Silver Star Steakhouse, and a parking lot away from the Brewhouse. Carroll College is across the street. We have stayed here many times, this is 'the spot' in Helena.

Great location in downtown Helena! Clean hotel rooms and great staff. I would highly recommend staying in this hotel whether for pleasure or business. It has a nice setting around the hotel, you are able to walk to local businesses and feel safe.

The Best Western Premier in Helena is a gem. I have been staying here at every opportunity for many years. Guests are treated to excellent accommodations by well trained staff. Staff are courteous and kind. It's like a boutique hotel experience with big hotel amenities. The Conference Center is a great venue. Food is top notch.

The property is beautiful and the rooms are very elegant. Everything is very clean and the staff if professional, friendly, and helpful. We were traveling on motorcycles and we appreciated the motorcycles washing station. We would highly recommend this property.

The very best of service and accommodations. Our room attendant, Alexi, was the very best of any hotel I have stayed in and the front office staff were extremely accommodating. The complimentary breakfast had a variety of selections and changed every day.

This was our seventh stay in the last eight years at The Great Northern for our annual fishing vacation. We love this hotel. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained; the front desk staff are intelligent, helpful, and friendly; supporting staff are very attentive. The place is just extremely well managed. I've stayed here many times in the past and have never been disappointed. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. We walked to Last Chance Gulch, an 8 minute walk. Right next to the hotel is the Silver Star restaurant, one of the best restaurants in the state. You can't go wrong with staying here.

The Best Western in Helena has always been an excellent experience. The entire staff is very friendly along with being accommodating to any reasonable request. The hotel is clean, comfortable and situated in a good location within Helena.

We were over for just 3 nights for fly fishing. The hotel is in a great location...breakfast was great......room was quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Internet connectivity was good. I would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Helena.

We had a last minute trip to Helena and the Great Northern is always are go to spot! Everyone is friendly and it is close to all the things. The breakfast is the best. The ham and homemade local salsa is tasty. We have been coming for years and this will always be our place to stay.

This hotel has basically become one large dog kennel. We paid for adjoining rooms for our family with small children and were told the only one available was in the basement which is also known as the “dog floor.” We were surrounded by dogs barking, howling, yapping at all hours. It smelled like dog food and wet dogs in the hallway. I was even attacked by some unleashed dogs in the hallway at one point! Our son is deathly afraid of dogs unfortunately, so this made our experience particularly stressful. An older gentleman even brought his very large dog, who was extremely nervous and anxious, into the packed small area for the continental breakfast. I have no problem with animals, but there should have been another option for people paying extra to change rooms when they didn't appreciate being surrounded by animals. The staff were very nice and the location is convenient but for the price, I will be going to the doubletree downtown for my next visit.

This hotel was beautiful, and the breakfast exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only issue was loud guests in the hallway after 10 pm.

We were so surprised at the room. It was large and excellent. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The bathroom was large and the kitchen area supplied everything one needs.

Clean hotel, quiet rooms, friendly staff and no challenges. The stay went as planned including connecting rooms, good temperature control in our rooms and everything was in working order. Great steakhouse and bar attached to the hotel too.

I had a great stay and enjoyed the location of the hotel. It was nice to walk to Hokkaido across the street and the Silver Star Steakhouse which is connected to the hotel. Only draw back was there was no hot tub to soak in but we planned on going to Broadwater Hot Springs that was amazing and nearby.

Great staff- very genuine and helpful. Loved the railway theme throughout based on the Great Northern Railway. We stayed in a beautiful mini suite overlooking a small park. Walking distance from the Brewhouse. Would definitely stay here again.

We stay at BW hotels as often as we can when we travel. Their pet-friendly rooms are a very important draw as is their attitude toward their guests. The breakfast was second to none- a real departure from the usual hotel scramble and bacon fare. The room was one of the most well appointed and comfortable we have ever stayed in.

This was the best Best Western Hotel we have ever stayed at! The room was clean, updated, quiet, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We ate dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed the menu choice and the food very much. After the underwhelming motel we stayed at in Fillmore during our trip from Palm Springs to Calgary, it was a delight to stay in such lovely accommodation, at such a reasonable price. We will be back for sure!

A great hotel in the historic area of Helena.We were pleasantly surprised by the large lobby with the feel of an old hotel. The front desk staff were very friendly & professional.They asked if we needed help carrying luggage in and then assisted us with bringing bikes in. Coffee & tea are available in the main lobby-cookies too.Our room was large and nicely furnished with huge windows.-very quiet & clean.Breakfast was eggs, sausage, hash browns- I was happy to find cinnamon raisin toast! There is a steakhouse attached to the hotel . Public Parking is a short distance away.

The room was lovely and well appointed. Quiet room on the 3rd floor. Beautiful facility. Staff pleasant and accommodating. The event hosted a lunch; the food was good and waitstaff were prompt and professional. I eat breakfast late-9ish, and there was still plenty of food to choose from.

This hotel is top notch. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted as if you are family. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful, and offered a ton of information on the local sights and things to do (many within walking distance). There was a little "store" that was open 24 hours next to the front desk and had a bunch of snacks and other amenities like reading books that you could purchase. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I stayed two nights and found them to be pleasant and quiet. There was a hot complimentary breakfast that had everything from scrambled eggs to do-it-yourself pancakes. The whole facility was clean, friendly, and welcoming. Staff were very professional and treated you like a person rather than another reservation. I went to this hotel for a conference and other than the sound system, found it to be well run and enjoyable. The only two gripes I have are parking (very confusing if you are not familiar) and no closet space in the rooms to hang up businesses attire. But, all in all was a first rate experience and would highly recommend booking a reservation without hesitation.

This is truly a premier property, nestled in Helena, Montana. I'm from Montana and stay here often for work and family. It's quiet, even when completely booked. The staff go out of their way to make my stay pleasant. The appointments in guest rooms are tasteful, comfortable, and always clean and tidy. I use the conference center as well and our groups consistently review the space positively. My favorite Helena hotel by far, and among my favorite statewide.

I was asked to present at a conference held at the BW premier Helena great Northern Hotel. To be honest, I had no idea the BW provided such high quality. It was a wonderful stay with staff both knowledge and kind. My dates of arrival and departure had to be fixed, and each was handled easily, efficiently, and with kindness. The breakfast included was also fulfilling, tasty and with attentive staff. It was a unexpected surprise and true delight. The conference center was great. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel for family or business stays.

We visit Helena a few times every year and the Best Western Great Northern is always our lodging of choice. It not only meets all the usual wants and needs of lodging - great location, essy convenient parking, spotless accommodations, large rooms, but excels in everything. The breakfast is far better than the usual hotel fare, there is a pool, fitness center and guest laundry and a top quality restaurant attached. But most of all, the employees make us feel welcome and eager to make our stay pleasant. On our recent visit I needed to make an adjustment to our reservation, I got locked out of our room (!), and I needed assistance with a purchase from a gift display in the lobby. In each instance I was helped immediately and competently. I recommend the Great Northern to everyone. We look forward to many more stays there in the future.

The hotel was very nice and clean. The rooms were also clean and very nice. Their conference rooms were very nice. They had a good breakfast every morning. All the employees were very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel if you ever come to Helena. It is located in downtown within walking distance of several restaurants.

My first experience with Best Western Hotels and i was impressed. and will seek out a Besat Western for future travels. The breakfast each day was amazing, the amenities were awsome aindoor pool, fitness room complete with dumbbel rack!

Great location for my work and very kind and responsive staff. Good breakfast and great onsite restaurant. Hot tub was down but other than that it was a great experience with fantastic meeting space. They are updating things so it looks like it will be even better in years to come.

Nice breakfast eggs, waffles, bacon, ham, yogurt, fruit, coffee, tea. Nice heated pool and decent gym, rooms are elegant and well appointed. Close to the center, Civic Center. Silverstar restaurant - outstanding.

The pool staff did a great job of keeping the area clean and fully stocked with towels. The hotel is in a great location with many different places to visit within walking distance. I've stayed in several locations throughout Helena, and Best Western Premier Helena Great Northern Hotel has been the best! The service is top-notch, the breakfast is fantastic, the spacious rooms are impeccably clean and well-purposed, and the location is exceptional! I love being close to downtown Helena and next to Carroll College, where my daughter attends college. I highly recommend this establishment!

Great location—city center. Wonderful staff, clean rooms, acceptable workout facility, wonderful breakfast. We've stayed all over the US and can't remember a hotel experience quite like the Great Northern.

It was unfortunate that our stay was just one night, because we would have loved to stay longer (we were on our way to Yellowstone.) Such a nice building in a very nice and seemingly brand-new commercial area. There was a terrific ramen noodle restaurant just steps away. The room was comfortable and well appointed and the staff truly was wonderful! They always had a smile on their faces and seemed genuinely glad to see you. The breakfast buffet was also wonderful. Oh, and the Montana shaped cookies were awesome!

Everything about my stay at the Helena Great Northern hotel was excellent. All the hotel staff, from the buffet attendants, front desk staff and housekeeping were kind, professional and friendly. They always went above and beyond to make sure I was tended to personally and made sure I was taken care of. My hotel room was very quiet, clean and cozy. I slept like a baby and even requested purchasing the hotel pillows after my stay. I will surely stay again if I need accommodations in Helena!

We have stayed at The Great Northern Hotel several times over the years, always with great enjoyment. The staff is especially gracious and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. Nothing but good things to say for this hotel.

The hotel building, indoor and surrounding areas were clean, attractive, and attended to by helpful, friendly and professional staff. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. I was traveling with a dog and found the "dog rooms" clean and spacious. The breakfast was the typical spread with more options than other hotels offer. The food was good and the dining room clean and spacious. This was my first visit to Helena and from now on I will be staying at the Best Western Premier Helena Great Northern Hotel.

Nice Hotel. I stayed 4 nights for a conference. The amenities were nice and clean. The staff was attentive and helpful. The breakfast buffet is really exceptional. There are also two restaurants a few steps away available for lunch and dinner. I'd definitely stay here again.

The BWP is relatively new and nicely maintained. I've stayed here a couple of times, and some of the rooms seem larger than others, but there is always enough room for a couple. The staff is great, always working to see what they can do to make the stay better. Beds are comfortable. The rooms are quiet because the roads in the area are not heavily traveled. There are a couple of nice touches- free shuttle service is offered to the airport (about 10 minutes away), and there are nightly sugar cookies available in the shape of Montana. The property is centrally located for easy walking to pretty much everything you want to do in town. The breakfast is better than most of the standard breakfast bar and make-your-own waffle places. I would definitely stay here again when I am in town.

The Best Western surpassed my expectations... The staff is so kind and knowlegable. The restaurant is fabulous and has great music!!!The hotel is located in a graet spot...you can get uyp every morning nad walk a wonderful park... Great spot for families!!!!!!

Pet friendly, very nice rooms, excellent location and very friendly staff. I believe Luke checked me in and he was super nice and professional. When I found out our room was lower level, I was concerned but it was a great room with outdoor access and a semi private patio for our pets. What a score! We could easily walk our dogs out to a very cool area with outdoor water features, landscaping and backed up to a museum and carousel. It was fantastic. We could walk to a local restaurant that allows dogs which was so nice. Quick walk into town. Very clean and very comfortable rooms. Would definitely stay here again.

If you have pets, they put you in the LL of the hotel. There were strong Gas smells in LL. We talked to the front desk, and no dismissed as a dirty diaper. Breakfast, closed and food not refilled.....for many people.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was clean and all employed here that I encountered were very pleasant, helpful,& dutiful. It was a much needed relaxing experience even if I was staying for work.

This hotel is a spotless and relaxing gem with helpful, efficient, friendly staff. We return here every year for our fishing trip on the Missouri river because it feels like a second home. The desk staff are professional and very helpful, working together to maximize a visitor's experience. Staff in the breakfast room are very attentive to cleanliness and to keeping the good food replenished. Obviously management is highly focused on superior customer service. It is always a great pleasure to stay here. An added benefit: There are 4 good restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the hotel. That really matters after a long day fishing!

Had a really nice stay but the price was more than double what we paid at all others we stayed at over the 8 day trip we were on. Room was clean and spacious, breakfast was good with hot and cold options

Strictly first class accommodations. Rooms are spacious, clean, well provisioned and quiet. We used the restaurant and enjoyed the room service option. The staff is fantastic, friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is a real breakfast instead of these grab and goes most hotels offer. We will certainly choose the Helena Premier Best Western for our next visit.

We have stayed at the Great Northern multiple times a year for many years traveling for our children's sporting events. After this last stay, I think it is time to check other options in Helena. I was less than pleased about the cleanliness of the room we arrived to- hairs on the bathroom floor (and a bead?), hairs in the tub, water (toothpaste?) sprayed on the mirror above the faucet, water marks all over the faucet, a very poorly cleaned toilet, dirty finger marks on the outside of the microwave, less than clean refrigerator, marks on the nightstand countertop. All of this came off when I took my own disinfecting wipes to these surfaces. I left for the sporting event we were attending, and after a day in the cold and rain returned to the room and found the thermostat was set at 55F. Freezing, I climbed into one of the two queen beds only to find it didn't even have a duvet cover- only a very worn fleece blanket on top of the sheet. My daughter's bed had a duvet. Our stay was for two nights; I opted to buy my own comforter at Costco for the second night as I was now less than confident in the level of cleanliness in what I would receive if I asked for one from the hotel. In addition to these issues, the room had a layer of dust on all the lamps, the headboards, etc. and the bathroom door would not shut. The staff was friendly, but when I relayed my concerns at checkout I didn't get more than an “I'm sorry, what room.” After I left I realized I was given a receipt for the wrong room, so I'm sure nothing was addressed.

Our experience was fabulous from check in to checkout! The front desk helped everything run smoothly. Mo responded quickly to every request, from toothpaste to room service inquiries and beyond. Housekeeping management and staff were great and super accommodating! The location is central with lots of places nearby for restaurants, food and other services. Our small dog was delighted with the outdoor space as well. We will definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the Best Western two weekends in a row and we will defiantly be back! Hotel had a nice hot breakfest. There is a bar and restaurant located next to the hotel (along with several other great options within walking distance).

It is a Well-designed Montana themed Hotel. The rooms are very modern. Located in the Last Chanh Gulch of Helena . Top notch breakfast area with Excellent Coffee. Happy to make a good recommendation.!

Love staying at the Great Northern Hotel - the staff are delightful and very helpful and the hotel itself is close to restaurants, the movie theater, central Helena and Carroll College (which is how we were first introduced to the hotel over a decade ago).

We stayed at this wonderful hotel in December. The lobby had tasteful Christmas decorations and was warm and inviting. There was a lovely fireplace surrounded by comfortable furniture. The front desk staff was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. The rooms were clean with plenty of space and very comfortable beds. The free breakfast was always well stocked, hot and fresh. The fruit infused water in the lobby was refreshing when sitting by the fireplace. This hotel had the best staff of any hotel we've stayed at. They made our stay so enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to all!

Helena's Great Northern BW is our go to place when on our road trip home. We were lucky enough to arrive early so had time to explore downtown Helena - on foot! Helpful staff gave great instructions and off we went. Did lots of Christmas shopping!!

We just stayed for 2 night but the bed was so comfy! We love the free breakfast buffet! The room we had was a king, with 2 balconies. Every time we go we try to get the same room - that's how much we like it. The staff is very professional. At Christmas it is decorated so pretty too!

I stay in a lot hotels throughout North America and I have to say this is by far the Best of Best Western hotel I haves stayed , a true delight for all amenities, cleanliness, staff . 5 Star for sure.

Best free breakfast offering I've had at any of the hotels I've stayed at in the last several years....LOTS of food choices and even local artisan breads are offered. Quiet, super clean property, great conference center (I didn't use but I can compare what they have to other small hotels I've attended conferences...the staff was working late hours in the evening to prepare for the next day). I have stayed here multiple times for both business and pleasure. The staff is accommodating and the physical layout and facility is pleasant and has all you need to be comfortable during your stay! I highly recommend the Great Northern!

We travel with pets and this is the first establishment that had a great pet area. The room was very large and clean, and opened onto a out side area. Service at front desk was excellent. Would recommend this hotel

room cleanliness could have been better. floor had not been vacuumed, visible debris on carpet. garbage in main room had not been emptied. I did not report the issue. the bed appeared tidy and well-made. bathroom had been cleaned, but probably very quickly as there were some hairs here and there in the tub and on the surface surrounding the sink. I have always found the staff at this hotel to be very helpful and friendly, so I should have reported it at the time.

I chose this hotel for family to meet together after burying our mom at Fort Harrison. It was a little spendy for some but a great choice. We ate dinner at the Steak House adjoining hotel. ( they accommodated a family of 12). We all met up for breakfast in the morning with attentive breakfast staff. The moment I walked into this hotel the front desk was welcoming and efficient. Another plus was the Brewery pub right buy parking area. Great lobby and pool/ hot tub looked inviting. Great stay. They also offer a shuttle to airport.

I've stayed at Best Western in Helena several times for business and always a present experience! Staff are friendly, rooms are very clean, beds are super comfortable and the location is great for doing business in Helena.

Why would a BWH Premium Hotel ( The Helena Great Northern) not have decent WiFI service. And it is a Conference Centre as well. This is the 21 century and WiFi is a must. I am not talking about poor WiFi, but no and intermittent WiFi. With such a fine building it is surprising that BWH would cheap out on WiFi.

We came here in an emergency after I had an allergic reaction to the alfalfa fields at another hotel on the outskirts of town. Lisa at the front desk was very compassionate, caring and tried to assist us in getting a room as soon as possible. We stayed in the 2 BR 2 BTH suite and it was just wonderful. Very quiet room on the lower level with very comfortable beds. It happened to be my birthday too and we ate at the steakhouse adjoining the hotel, which was excellent. We stayed 2 nights and we will definitely return when we are back in town from Seattle. The hotel was also very convenient to downtown.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay in September. The hotel is in a good location walkable to the downtown area. The breakfast was good and in a nice room. The hotel front dest staff was friendly and helpful.

We stay at this hotel 2x a year when we visit Helena. It is close to a lot of places, is easy to get to, and the hotel is always cozy and clean. We could use better food/coffee BUT like I said lots of places are nearby (including the sushi restaurant just outside and the restaurant next door!)

We stay here because it is close to Carroll College and easy for our daughter to get to. The breakfast is always delicious and the staff is always so friendly. We traveled with our family this time, including a very busy toddler. A quick walk/run to see the fountain, elk, bear, otter, goat and eagle took place many times in the day with a busy toddler. We walked to the carousel, Exploration Works, Brewhouse for lunch, to the college and back on a beautiful fall day in Montana!! This is the perfect location for us when we are in Helena

This was not our first time staying at this Best Western hotel & one of the main reasons we returned & will continue to do so ! It is ideally situated & the area is lovely & great for chilling out or perfect for walk, or ice cream, Farmers Market or eating out "Bad Betty's BBQ " on Front Street ( round the corner) is Awesome for Lunch Smokehouse food ( 11am - 3pm only). The staff at the hotel are super efficient & friendly and only to eager to help. Rooms are well equipped & cover all your needs and more ! The beds are super comfy ..so many more trips to come.

We had a fabulous experience during our stay. We reserved a mini-suite, and it was larger than I expected. There was excellent lighting, sometimes the rooms tend to be dark, but it was not the case at this hotel. The bathroom had a light over the shower, which is nice. I appreciated the ample supply of bath soaps in the dispensers as I have long hair and usually have to request extra conditioner. There was an extra pillow and blanket in the closet, along with an iron and a full-sized board. There were two robes for us and the towels were ample size and soft. The mattress was extremely comfortable, and we both slept well. The breakfast was incredible. Fresh cracked eggs, cooked oatmeal, fresh yogurt parfait, also choices of chobani yogurt, muffins, etc. One day there were both smoked sausage and sausage links, and the next day was ham slices and sausage links. Rosemary potatoes (not soggy hash browns. Eggs were well-cooked, not runny. Pour your own waffles and pancakes, various types of toast, bananas, and three choices of fresh coffee, apple, and orange juice. Oh! and there was fresh salsa and cheese for the potatoes and eggs. The front desk was very polite and accommodating. There were several luggage carts for use. The place is a little challenging to find, but google maps led us right to the front entry. It is a bit tucked away, and you don't see it until you are right upon it. It's located in a shopping mall area, so you have to get a parking pass, but there is ample parking nearby on a holiday weekend. We arrived at 3 pm on a Saturday and had no issues. The hotel is about a 1/2-mile walk to the historic part of Last Chance Gulch. Walkable for many, but not for everyone. There is a carousel and ice cream very near the hotel, but it is not open on Sundays. There is also a brewpub a very short walk away, but we did not eat there. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Helena.

This is a beautiful hotel; never stayed at a Premier, mainly the Best Western Plus, but our room here was really outstanding! Very large, and loved the fact that they had a completely separate sink/vanity area outside the bathroom. Decorated beautifully and quiet. It was wonderful for us that they allow dogs! And they have a restaurant connected to the hotel. Went to their very nice restaurant that also has a nice size patio area (not sure if they allow dogs there?). It is a spendy restaurant; Husband had the filet +salmon+scalloped potatoes; the filet was very tender, he enjoyed his dinner. I had the vegetable gnocchi, I was very disappointed, the gnocchi were gummy. The menu did not state that we get soup + salad with our dinner, salads were nice size, husband said the clam chowder was just so-so. Service there was outstanding, they made us feel very welcomed and they truly accommodated us, by seating us early. I definitely, would make a reservation, as this is a popular place! We enjoyed after dinner drinks at their bar. Had their free continental breakfast the next morning, very nice assortment of cranberry walnut along with delicious cinnamon breads, also bagels, fruit, oatmeal, eggs and other items. A little disappointed they did not have an omelet station as the Best Western Plus in Coeur d'Alene had. All in all we'd go back and stay here again and would highly recommend it. They also had an large indoor pool at this facility.

I was thoroughly impressed with my stay at the Great Northern. The staff was wonderful, room was spotless and the amenities offered were right on point. It's a lovely place to stay and conveniently located to many fine dining establishments.

This hotel was well maintained with modern furniture and amenities. Staff was friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. Breakfast had a good variety and room service was available for other meals. Location was close to restaurants & entertainment and only minutes from downtown.

It was our first visit to Helena and our friends recommended we stay at the Great Northern Hotel, and we are so happy that we did! The location is perfect to downtown and both restaurants and shopping. I also walked the Centennial Trail each morning from the hotel. The staff were professional, helpful, and the best part - happy! The room was lovely with a great bar & coffee area and refrigerator. The linens were high quality as well as the furniture. There were two elevators, which is always nice. The breakfast was outstanding (variety and tasteful) and so was the staff that worked the area each morning. We really enjoyed Helena and the Great Northern Hotel was the "icing on the cake". We will return!

What a good price for such a nice hotel room. The location was excellent, room was large, clean, and beds comfortable. I'm definitely staying there whenever I visit Helena in the future. Even the bathroom was great-- the countertop was huge and the shower had real water pressure! It was helpful to be able to stay in a walkable area.

I was in town for the week for job training. I was so happy I decided to stay at the Best Western. The beds were so comfortable! I loved the pillows! I also was pretty impressed with the breakfast each morning. The food was amazing! Chorizo burritos, scrambled eggs, sausage… not your average continental breakfast. The staff was great! The hotel was quiet. I got the best nights sleep while I was there. Great stay! Highly recommend!

Wonderful staff. Prompt resolution of AV issues. Front desk staff helped with my issues in getting a third party vendor (GetARoom) to refund my last day at the hotel. Still waiting on the refund from the third pard vendor. Suggest going directly to a voice on the phone vs. a clip on the computer.

Having stayed at other Best Western hotels we were very impressed with this addition to their offerings. Things started off very well when we came in early and the room was ready for us. This excellent feature was important as we had been traveling a long distance. The two men at the front desk were very accommodating and professional. The room was modern and very comfortable. Having the Silver Star restaurant just a short walk away inside was a nice bonus. A very pleasant stay.

The Helena Great Northern Hotel is by far the best place to stay in Helena. The location is perfectly located to Helena's best dining options. The Silver Star is connected to the hotel and is a great option for drinks and or dinner without leaving the hotel. The rooms are roomy and impeccably clean. The large King rooms are extremely spacious and give plenty of room to spread out. I have been staying at the Northern for almost 10 years. It gets better every time I stay there. The staff is attentive and friendly and can always be reliable for entertainment options in town. All this and if you are traveling with your best friend, the hotel is dog friendly.

Comfortable and clean room. Breakfast was good and so was the coffee. Iced lemon water was available at desk. Only thing missing was the cookies. Symphony under the Stars was walking distance from Hotel.

I had a 5 night stay for a conference in July. I am a very light sleeper but the hotel staff was great in placing me on the top floor. The rooms were clean and quiet. The beds were very comfortable. Rooms are large as well as the bathroom. It had all the things you would need for a stay. They provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and little amenity kit (Q-tips, nail file, cotton balls), shower cap, and hair dryer. The quality of was good. It is close to a few restaurants and a quick walk to Carol College. Not a far walk to the walking mall either. They do provide shuttle service to the Airport as well. Will definitely stay again. We also had a lovely visitor in the parking lot....baby deer.

Booked a King room for our 1 night stay. Large, clean with plenty of light and outlets - a major plus for us. Reception very pleasant, breakfast good. Only downside is if you are elderly (like us) , parking is about a half block away. Younger people won't even notice. Best to pull up, unload your luggage, then park. Reception gives you a ticket to display for free parking.

Very welcoming to two guys on bicycles. Amenities great as you would expect. Location was excellent for us, walking distance to the Brewhouse, Big Sky Cycling and Van's grocery store, among others. Highly recommended.

Our family loved the Best Western Premiere in Helena! We had 4 rooms, with 12 people one night & 10 the rest. The 2 bedroom family suite on the lower level was beautiful. We had 3 other rooms nearby including a patio room perfect for family get togethers in the evening.

We were reluctant to pay a little more for a room here compared to other hotels we looked at but it was soooo worth it. Close to many great restaurants and in a beautiful setting. Great hotel with upgraded breakfast including alternative options for those with dietary concerns. Our room was large, clean and adjoined to another room as requested. When we arrived, staff were still dealing with fallout from an unusual flash flood thunderstorm. They were friendly, kind and open about the challenges which while out of their control, were being worked on. We were very pleased with our stay. The hotel is in a beautiful area of Helena, with a beautiful outdoor space. This is not your typical BW - definitely try it!

Stayed at the Best Western, the best hotel in Helena. Great break and the hotel restaurant is the Silver steak house. A good wine list and great steak. Just open the door in the lobby and walk into the restaurant.

Got to spend the night in Helena prior to a fishing trip and had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western. Very nice hotel, gracious staff, really nice breakfast (with a super server who treated it more like a full service experience than the buffet it is set up to be), clean rooms and reasonably priced. The hotel is in walking distance of several nice restaurants and very accessible to the old town of Helena. Next time I am up in the area I will be sure to stay at the Best Western.

Quick check in, room was beautiful and clean, the breakfast was great and the staff was so friendly. We loved the waffles at breakfast as they were so fully. The hotel was very busy with a church conference, baseball tournament and more but the staff was able to keep up with the breakfast with a smile on their faces. It was also a good location.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and had everything I could need. However, the staff was even better! I booked rooms for a conference for the wrong dates and the staff worked hard to squeeze me in for the right dates. Thank you! The front desk staff answered every question and fulfilled every request. The attention to detail was great. I also enjoyed the breakfast very much - options for someone on a restricted diet. Can't wait to go back!

Room was huge. Great big window. Seating area with sofa and chair. Frig, micro and sink area was great. Nicely decorated. Comfy bed. Good shower. Staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. Easy parking. Fast checkin and out. I will definitely check out BW Premier again.

The hotel is situated between several one-way streets, so our GPS had trouble getting us to the front door. Reception was fast, friendly and helpful with suggestions for local sights and dining. We did see a few issues with cleanliness that I would not have expected anywhere, let alone a "premier" property. There were several small scraps on the floor in our room which were missed by the vacuum. There were some black hairs on the wall in our shower. And at the breakfast buffet I had to throw several knives into the dirty dishes bin before finding one that looked clean enough to use.

We visit Helena occasionally and always choose this hotel first. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is excellent. The restaurant connected to the hotel is also very good, though a bit pricey. Overall a good choice.

The Best Western Premier Great Northern Hotel in Helena is a great place to stay. It is clean, nice, and comfortable. Coffee and breakfast are provided too. You can walk to the downtown area, the Holter Art Museum, Carroll College, and many other places. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I try to stay here during my regular visits to Helena.

Justin and Dan provided outstanding customer service. I recently had knee surgery and have a handicap placard but was unable to use the two spots behind the conference center as they were already filled. Dan was kind enough to find convenient parking for me. Justin was very helpful and accommodating as well. Everyone I came into contact with was pleasant and friendly.

Stayed for a conference and it was great. The floor plan was good, the staff was very helpful and the breakfast was always good. The beds were very good and the location was great for my child who spent her days at the carousel and the Exploration Works both of which are within easy walking distance.

I flew in on a Sunday from the east coast for a 1 day tour of nearby Carroll College then to fly home shortly thereafter on the following Monday. We had very little time to get the lay of the land Sunday evening before our college tour on Monday. The gentlemen at the front desk had a shuttle pick us up at the airport and then gave us walking directions to great food and sight seeing options Sunday night. On Monday morning, he helped me navigate through discrepant college tour times and check out allowing us a late check out, reserving the shuttle back to the airport and recommending time and a nice place for lunch in between. It made the limited experience given the tight timelines fully informative as to what Helena had to offer (great people and cute town) in addition to the college tour.

The hotel was clean. The staff was friendly. The hot breakfast was delicious. The pool and jacuzzi was clean and well kept. The rooms were clean and quiet. The staff at the restaurant/Lounge was very helpful, and the food was really good.

Fantastic experience. The front desk was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are large and very comfortable. A feature I enjoy is a nice chair and ottoman that you can just sit and relax in. The rooms are very quiet and easily accessible.

This property is in the heart of downtown but it seems like it is in the Country in that it is very quiet. The rooms were extremely well cared for and very clean. Everything in the rooms worked well and the heat/AC was very quiet. The whole facility was fresh and clean and all of the personnel were friendly and cheerful.

My husband and I and our dog stayed at this best Western on our way home from Arizona to Alberta. I have stayed at many Best Westerns over the years and I must say this is the best of any. The location of this hotel is fantastic. Downtown Helena is a fun place to see with many places to walk . Very warm cosy environment when you walk in the lobby. Beautifully decorated with western art and Big cosy chairs. We were in the lower level because we had a dog. Our room was a walkout into a small courtyard with tables and chairs that was fenced. Our dog loved it. The room was large and clean and the beds extremely comfortable. We had dinner that evening at a restaurant attached to the hotel and it was excellent. We always enjoy staying at this hotel! We come 2x/year for business, but we stay here every time. The check-in process is easy, the hotel is convenient, clean and comfortable. Rooms are great, fitness center is great (small but nice), and the staff are great.

BW Helena Great Northern is perfectly located to allow you to experience anything you would like while in this beautiful town. The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was delicious and I loved the homey touch of "real" dishes and coffee mugs. The adjoining restaurant had wonderful food and drinks. Great trip! We loved our stay and we will be back!

This is the best hotel in Helena. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and nicely updated (especially the bathrooms). The entire staff is remarkably friendly, not one surly voice in my entire stay. The breakfast is far superior to the normal hotel continental breakfast. The smoked sausage is especially tasty. It's also the little things. I had very easy access to ice and soda pop machines, something of a rarity anymore. I was there for a conference, and their conference facilities are also very good.

My son and his fiancee were coming to visit us (family) in Helena after working the front lines at a hospital in Portland for the past two years plus without a break. We decided to treat them to a stay at the Best Western Great Northern Hotel as a little staycation while they were here. They raved about the hotel saying it was quiet, in a great location, the room was clean and beautiful, offered great breakfasts, and had very friendly and accomodating staff. They also enjoyed the Silver Star being connected to the hotel for drinks and great food. We all got to enjoy their visit without any stress of them staying in our small townhome and they got the great rest that had been lacking for the past couple of years! It was a win-win situation for everyone. I will treat future visitors to this wonderful hotel. We may even take a staycation there ourselves!!

Great quality hotel in the "heart" of Helena, very close to "downtown" with a large park nearby. It is in a prime location for accessing businesses and social activities. A few good lunch and dinner restaurants, but lacking in grab and go and especially a coffee shopt! There is a breakfast buffet which makes up for this and that is appreciated! If you choose, you can walk to Starbucks. The hotel is very clean and has lots of amenities and space for gatherings. I also notice the hotel seems busy and yet I hardly ever hear my neighbors.

Front office staff and everyone that works here are so kind and generous. They made our stay an absolute joy, and we look forward to staying here every time we are in Helena. The Christmas decorations and room were beautiful, made it feel like a rich experience for our family. Thank you.

We had an outstanding stay at this hotel while in Helena. It came highly recommended to us by friends and we weren't disappointed. We wish we could have stayed longer. The staff was polite and helpful, rooms comfortable and clean, and the great location.

Did you know that this hotel has an airport shuttle? Thankfully they do and it's 24 hours a day!!! My flight was delayed until 1:30 AM and they had the shuttle at the airport waiting for me and when I got to the hotel they had the key and the check in all ready to go so it took no longer than 15 minutes from airport to the room!! They were also kind enough to shuttle me to Carroll College the next morning so I didn't have to walk with my luggage. Talk about amazing customer service! I will be staying here again for sure.

We visited Helena for a concert and chose this hotel for its location and pet-friendliness. The room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was satisfying, and the staff was engaging and competent. We will return to this hotel for future visits.

We stayed Dec 3-5 2021. This was such a great place to stay! Staff was great and breakfast was yummy. We definitely look forward to staying again! We were there for a company Christmas party and that was great food as well. If you are looking for a getaway or somewhere to have a party...I highly recommend it!

We stayed Great Northern Best Western in Helena on Nov 28.2021. The ambiance at the front desk was calm, professional, very accommodating and not just to us. Def make you feel welcome and valued. The lobby furnishings are wonderful, good quality. Makes you feel as though 'you've arrived, even though we were fresh from camping and a lil grungy lol. The room was excellent as well. Clean, well furnished, comfortable bed, TV and wifi gave no issues, plus we were able to see our rig in the parking lot from our room. Breakfast was truly impressive. Great coffee, fresh made salsa, muffins etc. Great selection of hot food - eggs, potatoes, sausage to breads, muffins, yogurt, fruit, cereals, beverages etc. Very well done indeed. We will make a point of staying here our next trip through.

Enjoyed our stay and had a great breakfast. Of course pet rooms are in the basement with no view (except the dumpster) and exorbitant pet fee. Mushy mattress, and early morning noise outside at dumpster led to poor sleep.

Best hotel stay in a while. Everything was great...comfortable very clean room, convenient location to Carroll College, places to eat, running paths, great breakfast. Good hot tub, work out room. We will be back on our future visits to Helena.

First off, we don't like leaving poor reviews but this experience was so horrible we feel others should know. We let some time pass before writing this review and we still feel disgusted. Not sure how this hotel is rated "#1" in Helena. We had stayed here once last year and it was a much better experience although we had noticed none of the surfaces had been wiped down. This visit was absolutely disgusting. The hotel & lobby have a very fancy appearance and it's a "premier" location. Upon check-in, we entered into our 3rd floor room (as requested). Pictures below will give full details on how dirty these rooms were. Our room had a dirty toilet, a writing pen on the floor in the bathroom along with 3 pieces of tissue, the sink had not been clean, hair, the soap dish looked like they took the used soap out and placed a wrapped bar there without exchanging for a clean dish. This grossed us out and we walked further into the room to find a bed that was sort of made, but looked like it had been slept in. We went down to the front desk and she apologized and handed us another room key on the 3rd floor. This room was also disgusting. We asked if perhaps there are different cleaning crews throughout and maybe we could have a room cleaned by someone else. The young woman at the front desk said, "Sorry, our bad" and proceeded to send us upstairs AGAIN (toting our luggage). This time, to meet the young maintenance man to look at 2 more rooms. He opened the door, held it ajar for me to peek in while keeping lights off and asked, "will this be fine?". These two were also not clean but one DID have a bed that looked freshly made. This bed was extremely comfortable. It was after 9pm by this time so we opted for the one with the cleanest looking bed and planned to visit with a manager the following morning since there wasn't one on duty at the time. Upon browsing the TripAdvisor reviews, we saw there were some others that had this same experience. Then we saw the front office response posted as follows, "We appreciate your feedback from your stay. As you can see from other reviews, these are not typical comments for our hotel". THIS raises concern! Zero accountability, and basically writing the reviewers off. We are not picky people, we have Airbnb's and understand the importance of providing a clean guest space. My husband honestly has standards that are far below average as well as a personality that doesn't like conflict or to speak negatively. That night and the next morning he said, "I feel SO disgusting here, this is ridiculous". I agreed. A hotel that was rated first in the capital city, and rates at $200/night!!! As another reviewer said, when traveling and staying in a high class hotel-we shouldn't have to move to 4 rooms upon check-in. The following morning we were debating checking out or giving the manager a chance. We had already paid a non-refundable charge for TWO nights so that was weighing heavy. We went down to the front desk to speak with manager LeRoy. We are sure he heard of the chaos the night before. I explained (very sweet & kindly) our situation the night before and how we are still feeling quite disgusted. He seemed very distant and non-caring. Even worse, when I tried to show him a few pics on my phone of what kind of nastiness I was referring to-HE REFUSED TO LOOK AT THEM. Then, because we booked 3rd party-he said there is NOTHING he can do. No gift cert for another BW or refund or anything. I said something about the reviews and he said THE SAME thing as above about this not being a typical complaint. We were going to event that day and wouldn't be back until evening. He offered to keep our bags and put us in A FIFTH ROOM! We definitely didn't trust him or the staff to keep our bags. We agreed to a FIFTH room, and asked if he could maybe look at it first and get it cleaned before we arrive back that night. We received a call at 1230pm that our new room was ready. Upon arriving back to the motel for our final night, the lobby was jam-packed. So we waited a bit on the side and finally got a card to a corner suite type room with 3 sliding glass doors. This bed was different than the other. This room was somewhat cleaner than the others but still the surfaces weren't clean, still had pink mold in the tub, slider doors had dog slobber all over them, more than 10 pieces of hair... So sad that the quality is so poor, they will take ZERO responsibility, and they look at you like you're crazy when bringing it up. There are super cheap motels that are way cleaner than this. Needless to say, we won't be returning and CERTAINLY will NOT be recommending this establishment to anyone.

Great hotel property with full amenities and services. I always try to stay at this location when travelling to Helena, Montana. The bar and restaurant are top notch also, although maybe a bit pricey if you are a budget traveler.

Couldn't find reservation checking in because I used a third party. They had another room open. Was charged for bothrooms. I tried to explain to the staff when checking in it was pending on two cc. Morning staff correct the problem. Bathroom floor was stick, and dirty. We cleaned it with sanitation wipes. Blow drier did work. Someone charged $50 extra room service to our room.

Had a fantastic stay at the Great Northern Hotel in Helena. The location was great and we loved that it offered a pool and free breakfast. Next time we're in Helena, we will definitely stay here again.

We are regular guests at the Great Northern and look forward to our stay each time we come! From the quiet room by the pool, to the great breakfast options (healthy for me and waffles and bacon for my kiddo), we love our time spent as a family. It's in a great location with a leisurely walk downtown or just a few steps from the Silver Star restaurant followed by a ice cream at the Carousel. We will return again and again.

Hotel was clean and smelled great. Staff was good and breakfast was wonderful and different everyday. Food was hot coffee was a little weak parking was close and free close to restaurants Pool and hot tub was clean very quite place.

This is a fabulous hotel and it felt good just walking into the beautiful well appointed lobby. It's situated in an interesting new area of other businesses and restaurants all joined/close together. There was a wonderful small type plaza with a small waterfall and animal sculptures. A very pleasant place by the hotel. Our room was spacious with the space used wisely. Liked having a chair and ottoman to sit and read by. Artwork is railroad themed as I believe it was the hub of the Great Northern Railroad. Beds were comfy and we slept well. Great shower and nice good quality towels. There was a nice sized indoor pool, but didn't use. Also a nice small gym with artwork, also didn't use. They had a lovely area for conferences with great old photos of the early days of Helena and the Great Northern Railroad, which is the theme of the hotel. Breakfast was hot and very good, with eggs, bacon, coffee cake, to name a few. Helena is the state capitol and we found it interesting to visit the Millionaire Mansions, Victorian homes, and the capitol.

My wife and i recently had a stopover in Helena. Helena is a nice city but the choice of hotels is limited. I chose Best Western Premiere and was not disappointed. The hotel is modern and attractive and the rooms are well appointed. More importantly, the staff were very helpful. On checkin, the representative— Robert if I recall— went the extra mile to be both courteous and helpful. We used the hotel steakhouse for dinner because of its convenience and it did not disappoint. Once again, the people were the plus— server Kelly— took the time to offer useful travel recommendations for our continuing trip. Great value.

The location of the hotel was great. It is really nicely furnished, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We will be back! They have a nice indoor pool and it's located on Last Chance Gulch, near lots of cute shops and restaurants.

The location of this hotel is good. The night we stayed the restaurant next door was closed and that was a bummer. The check in was great- the man more than helpful. The problem was the room was not clean. We checked in and left our items and went to town. When we came back we used the bathroom and dirty towels were hung up- the mirror had never been cleaned. The shower full of pink where mold hadn't been cleaned. I went to the front desk and the girl said "oh we will have to talk to him" that was it.......I mentioned I was a little uncomfortable staying in the room wondering if any of it had been cleaned. She passed new towels to me and that was it. We were there for one night and I decided not to push it..I had asked earlier for an upper floor but was told my room was pre assigned on the first floor. The mattresses need to be changed out. We had two queen beds and both were very uncomfortable. The lobby is very nice and I used the laundry. One washer and dryer for the entire hotel which was very busy while we were there. Breakfast ok- staff was great in clearing and keeping this area clean. All in all a little disappointed....

Great area to be, especially if you are unfamiliar with Helena, as we were. The Hotel is walking distance to eating and shopping. Hotel was very clean and well maintained with a very nice hot breakfast.

The hotel was immaculate and so was the area all around the hotel. So pleasant to stroll in the courtyard garden. Good steak restaurant is attached so it's all very convenient. The staff was very helpful and attuned to our every need. I would highly recommend this hotel and city. A must-see is The Cathedral of St. Helena a few blocks away. Great hotel at a great price!

Lovely spot, quiet, good staff. Needs better coffee. The personnel are very friendly, and the rooms are large, open, and tastefully decorated. The restaurant features a variety of excellent Montana foods at a varied prices.

Our overall stay was pleasant, but beware of LeRoy. He is why this hotel is getting a 3 star - I would give him 0 stars. He was extremely arrogant, condescending, and did not honor what we had been previously told. There was no reasoning with him, so be sure if one of the other wonderful employees confirms something with you (2x) you get it in writing! PS...we were only asking for a one hour later check-out due to our flight leaving later in the afternoon.

Hotel was excellent. Room was nice and comfortable; service was wonderful, and people couldn't be nicer. Also conveniently located: great restaurants nearby, and within walking distance of the nicest places in town.

This is a very nice, upper scale hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and lots of amenities. The staff was always helpful and professional. Conference rooms were spacious and had great audio/visual capabilities. The location was peaceful and close to local attractions and restaurants.

Our favorite hotel in Helena! We actually look for reasons to go to Helena so we can stay here. Not only is the property immaculately clean and beautiful, the staff are always friendly, professional and thoughtful. The breakfast, even in COVID, was everything we needed and the food was fresh and flavorful. We will stay here again!

Hotel is ver nice. Clean. Appealing atmosphere. Very nice restaurant, but a little expensive for a business trip. Room was clean. Desk check in was pleasant. Treated with a nice greeting and with respect. Very helpful about all the amenities and parking.

This is one of the nicest Best Westerns we have stayed in. It's in a great location in downtown Helena. We particularly liked the breakfast. In spite of the pandemic restrictions, there was still a good choice of buffet offerings as well as yogurt, cereal and fruit.

Wonderful facility with friendly, helpful staff. Great amenities. Our room was large and great for our family. Breakfast buffet was awesome. Beds were perfect and location was great. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Helena.

The hotel has great rooms when traveling with a dog. The rooms open up to a patio and outside access where you can easily take the dog out for walks. We always stay here when tracing through Helena. Highly recommend.

Best Western has really upped their game in recent years and we opted to stay here as we had some reward credit to use. We arrived about 3:30 pm and were able to check in early. Our room was on the 3rd floor and was quite large with very nice amenities, including robes! Spent some time in the hot tub, which was in good working order. Pool was very nice as well. The hotel is in a central location, with several restaurants and a movie theater in walking distance. The complimentary breakfast the following morning was good, with a variety of options. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this location and hotel!

I have to travel frequently to Helena for work and the Best Western Great Northern is where I always stay anymore. I've tried other hotels but between the great restaurant and lounge for work meetings, the conference facilities, the lovely and quiet rooms, and the nice breakfast staff, I won't stay anywhere else anymore.

We stayed here on our way home after a family trip to Glacier National Park. It is a superb hotel. Friendly, welcoming, and professional staff. Very clean, very nice and very comfortable rooms. The hotel also has a great location in a vibrant part of Helena, which is a hidden gem of a city.

The staff was friendly, curteous and helpful. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I reccomend the Silver Star restaurant attached to the hotel - great selection and good food. I tried the spicy marguretia and it met my expectations. The next time I am in the area I will go back to this hotel.

Decent location. A little dated but clean rooms. Spacious rooms. Nice breakfast, but very small dining room. There are a few Adirondack chairs just outside. Better than other Best Westerns I've stayed in.

Travel to Helena many times each year. First stay at the Great Northern, wow... clean and very quiet. Staff is fantastic and helpful. Room was just perfect for our stay. Breakfast was the best, staff was busy with cleaning tables and keeping the food counter neat and orderly. Easily the most friendly staff in Helena. Already thinking of an excuse to go to the Great Northern again ! Ten Stars out of Ten.

This hotel looks like it is one of the anchors of a revitalization of a part of Helena. The setting is lovely, the front desk was professional and our room was lovely. The room was spacious and very clean. I enjoyed the bathtub. The lobby was very inviting.

I made 2 separate hotel reservations for the same day one for myself and another for friends going to the same wedding and were traveling with me and my daughter. As this was a wedding in the evening, we started early in the afternoon to travel to Helena. Anticipating summer road construction we took a longer route and thought we had all contingencies for travel and timing checked. We realized we were not going to be able to physically check in, share some prosecco and change into wedding clothes...so went to check in via website and phone with spotty service as we had to travel several mountain passes and rural valleys to get to Helena, Montana. Then the other and bigger comedy of errors occurs; I realized my reservation was for the same date in July......and not the June date I needed. There were so many events in Helena and the surrounding towns that there was literally no room at ANY inn......and the wait list was LONG for any cancels, anywhere. I was driving, so my very capable well travelled co-pilot and navigator went to work, once we had service, and along with the GM at this property: Suzanne Malarae worked a miracle and found us not one but two rooms for that night; and at the same price. Long story shortened, we ended up changing into our wedding clothes in the car and travel rest stop....doing make up while driving (including eye liner) with visor mirror....and arriving just as the bride was walking down the beautiful shaded, grassy knoll. I hope the owners of this Best Western property pay Suzanne and her staff really, really well, they are worth their weight in gold to travelers of our state and everywhere. Thank you for a really great post-COVID experience in excellence.

Hotel, room and breakfast were all nice and made for a pleasant stay. Hotel is situated within easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping and downtown activities. Cute interactive park was a fun find next door.

We loved staying here! The pool was a great break at the end of a warm day exploring, the rooms were clean and well kept, and the breakfast was delicious! My kids (ages 15 and 13) loved this hotel and they have become seasoned travelers so that's saying something.:-) You can't go wrong staying here.

The expansive room layout, decor, and amenities makes it feel like you are staying in a resort rather than a hotel. A nice touch is a separate coffee making station with sink and then another sink and counter in the living area.

The hotel itself is nice and appears clean. The restaurant is amazing, great food and service. Unfortunately that's where it ends. When we went into our room, we noticed that the shower was full of pink mold. Then my husband used the toilet, he pointed out that it was also dirty. It had urine and a hair on it. We went down to the desk to tell the staff, and the man at the desk assured us he would take care of it. We were upgraded to a different, much nicer room, which we would never have asked for. We just wanted our room clean. But it was nice anyway. He told us the person in charge of housekeeping was personally checking the room over, and to wait 5 minutes. We waited about 10, and went up to the new room. She and another member of the staff were still in the room. They were a little rude about us walking in on them. They then proceeded to make excuses for the pink mold on the shower. She informed me that they needed to call in people to bleach the areas. I asked her not to make excuses, as I know that pink mold wipes off fairly easily, as well as the simple fact that hotels should be bleaching everything when cleaning. Anyway, they left and we looked around. The shower in this room was also full of pink mold, and the toilet in this room was absolutely disgusting. This toilet had pink mold and hair all over the back of the toilet lid. I took a picture and went back downstairs. I said we were going out to eat and hoped it was cleaned by the time we got back. We went back to our room and it smelled of bleach. Good sign right? Nope. The shower was completely white, looked great. The toilet…well they kind of wiped it but only across the top, and left pink mold and hair all over the side of it. At this point we checked out. Also, the thermostat/ac did not work well at all. Couldn't get it to be below about 75 in the room. Horrible for sleeping. I do not recommend this place at all.

The Great Northern Best Western Premier Hotel was perfect for us. The room was large, well appointed and quiet. The shower was truly amazing. Also, what a pleasure to get full housekeeping if desired since this seems to be sketchy at other hotels since COVID and with employee shortages. Parking was very convenient. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful with all questions about the hotel and about Helena. The adjoining Silver Star Steak Company was great for food and drinks. Next time we are in Helena, the Great Northern will be our choice.

I would highly recommend staying at this hotel. Having never been to Montana, we ran into a few hurdles on how to get from the Bozeman airport to this hotel in Helena and Robert at the front desk went out of his way to try to help us find a way. He called taxis, and rental services and gave ideas on other possibilities. Once we arrived at the hotel, he was very knowledgeable about the area and able to point us in the direction of things to do, things worth seeing, restaurants, bars, etc. Cleanliness and accommodations as a whole were 5 stars!

My wife and I just returned home from Helena after a 7-night stay at the Great Northern: something we've done in 4 of the past 5 years. After long days of fishing on the Missouri, we returned to a spotless, room; well-appointed and comfortable. The hotel is situated near 3 good restaurants, and a wonderful barbecue diner that you should not miss. We had excellent transport to and from the airport - a must if rental cars are scarce, or you don't feel like driving. Above all, though, we experienced a superior level of service: from an almost immediate response to a refrigerator needing adjustment, to the immediate return of an object left in the room, to the friendly and competent attention at the front desk. That is the true mark of fine management; that is the major reason we have stayed at Best Western Hotels in Wyoming, Utah, and Rome! Well done, GN and BW.

I stay at the Great Northern Hotel every time I visit Helena. I am a very light sleeper, and my room has always been comfortable and quiet, so I get a good night's sleep. The breakfast is tasty and convenient. What I like best is how friendly and welcoming the staff members are. They are very respectful, patient, and responsive whenever I have a question or problem. The shuttle bus driver from the airport greets me by name, and so does the breakfast server. On my most recent visit, I was in a rush to attend a dressy occasion but had forgotten my cuff links. Suzanne at the front desk came to my aid! She instantly came up with large safety pins and expertly adjusted my shirt cuffs for me. I will absolutely stay here again in the future, and I recommend it to others.

We stayed at the Great Northern while we were in Helena for work last week. While there, I discovered a little girl's pink swimsuit hidden behind the drapes in my room. Since housekeeping was limited because of COVID, I had elected to not have my room made up every day, so I left the swimsuit out for the housekeeping staff to find when I checked out. That evening I received a call from the front desk letting me know that I had left something behind in my room and asking me to check with them on getting it returned to me. The hotel is spacious, spotless, centrally located, and very comfortable – but that kind of extra effort really sets it apart.

I attended the Tourism Advisory Council meeting at the Helena Great Northern Hotel on June 14-15. The staff could not have been more accommodating. While some of the COVID restrictions are being limited the staff worked to insure everyone felt safe in the hotel.

Wonderful comfortable hotel. Close to downtown. Rooms are lovely and well appointed. Staff is competent and friendly. This is a great place to stay in Helena. Great breakfast. Silver Star Steak House has great food and cocktails.

The Great Northern has comfortable spacious rooms. The breakfast is excellent. There are many gathering places in the lobby. The location is great for walking to town. We have stayed here almost every year since it opened. We have never been disappointed.

The great Northern hotel was the perfect spot for our convention in June. All the conference rooms were set up properly and on time. The guestroom that I had was excellent! Great beds. Would definitely recommend for your next trip or convention

My family and I stayed at this hotel in their family suite and it was the best hotel! I wish more hotels offered a family suite like this because it accommodated our large family perfectly! It was also very clean and the staff was friendly. I'd highly recommend this hotel!

A very clear and comfortable Best Western and really top-notch service and communication. Everything from the check-in, to some questions we had, to the check-out, and to a follow-up from the hotel manager - really appreciated the unusually high level of service.

Very nice clean new hotel. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Free real breakfast at hotel. Great location in the heart of town. My son and i were on a off the grid week long trout fishing trip. The hotel stored all of our extra baggage between stays free of charge. I mistakenly left a couple items in the room on my last stay. I called the hotel and they shipped everything to me immediately. I stay in at least 100 hotels a year and highly recommend this one.

We enjoyed staying at this Best Western over the Memorial Day week-end. The front desk needed additional staff and the young lady was struggling to accommodate the check ins and requests. Our request for an additional pillow was not completed. We went to desk twice and both times she was so busy, we felt bad for her. The breakfast was great; it was nice to see a traditional hotel buffet again. When the eggs were low and requested more; the attendant was prompt in making more and then brought us over a separate plate. The room was comfortable, bed nice and the atmosphere was quiet. Nice to be able to walk to restaurants and enjoy the area.

The room was a bit pricy however if you want to be in the down town area of Helena this is the place to stay. The hotel is within walking distance to many of the businesses and places to eat. The setup of our room was the best. Not only a full bath but also an additional sink/vanity outside of the restroom.

I wanted a fairly new, upscale, and centrally located hotel and this BW Premier delivers! Actually, we were nervous about a Best Western but we'd never stayed in a "premier" level property. This hotel must be the finest hotel in the BW chain - you would think you were in a much more expensive brand. The hotel seems brand new and everything is in excellent condition. The room we were given was enormous, with perfect furnishings and huge windows. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and obviously proud of their property. There is free parking, either at nearby outdoor lot or indoor parking lot. It's about a 15 min walk to the heart of the historic district of Helena; we walked in the afternoon to explore but drove down for dinner (a 2 min drive and plenty of parking in downtown). It was by far the best hotel of the trip - and by far the best hotel in Helena.

My husband and thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Great Northern. The location was very quiet, room was very comfortable and staff welcoming and pleasant. The dinner we had at the adjacent restaurant was outstanding as was the service.

We stayed here during a cross country trip. The hotel is in a great area and is very nice inside. The staff helped us find a good restaurant and were very friendly. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated.

rooms were filthy, staff was rude, room service doesn't not cater to children. Nothing on the menu for kids. Parking is off site. Not a good location. pool is surrounded by guest rooms so people are always watching you and your kids No good views. View of roofs Miss out on great Montana Views.Terrible hotel. Excellent, rooms were clean, all amenities were available, the staff are friendly and always willing to help. Overall a great experience, we will definitely return when traveling through. The Manager was able to accommodate our request for an upgraded room as well. Very nice Hotel!

The hotel is in a great location, quiet but centrally located. On a snowy night it was a cozy place to dine and sleep. Dinner menu offerings were varied with many choices and the chardonnay I enjoyed was excellent as was my partner's mule drink. Server was helpful with our questions.
