Description

In the heart of the city, the Le Grand Hotel Grenoble, BW Premier Collection, Grenoble, France, is a four-star set in a historic Haussmann building, with a warm atmosphere, contemporary decor, and comfortable rooms, an ideal base for a trip into the Rhone-Alpes, easily reached on foot or by tram, bus, taxi, or bike. The rooms run from classic to suites, some with a balcony and connecting rooms for families, each with a coffee machine, a minibar, and a television, and a varied buffet breakfast leans on local, seasonal produce, with a range of snacks on hand through the day. Grenoble spreads across a flat valley floor ringed on every side by mountains, the three great massifs of the Vercors, Chartreuse, and Belledonne rising straight from the city, reached by the famous cable-car bubbles up to the Bastille fort, with the ski resorts of the Alps and the legacy of the 1968 Winter Olympics close by. From almost any street the snow peaks fill the end of the view.

"Highly recommend"

Loved it here. Very funky decor. Fabulous staff. Very popular. Parking underneath was a bonus. Lovely restaurant indoors and out. Delicious food. Quiet and very comfortable sleep.

"Pretty antique hotel that could use some updating"
MelanieKE2013, 02 Août 2026

We stayed here for one night because we had an early train to catch in Grenoble. The room was fine. The view and balcony were wonderful, and the front desk staff were very helpful. This hotel could use some sprucing up. It was clean, but worn.

"Family occasion, superbly catered for."
Term100, 28 Mai 2026

We needed a base in centre of Grenoble for a family event. Front of house team accommodated our changing needs superbly, with clear communication and check-back to ensure all was correct. Hotel was spotless, beds & pillows very comfortable, shower facilities terrific, air-con was great (mid-30s during our stay) and a good breakfast available if needed.

"The best hotel in Grenoble. Wonderful rooms, location, staff and service"
Adrian D, 24 Mai 2026

THE best hotel and staff in Grenoble. A massive thank you to Wendy, Erwan, Justin, Camille and France for the incredible support and kindness they showed in April. My son had a ski accident, and was airlifted to Grenoble where he was in ICU for a week. We needed a hotel nearby, urgently. Wendy, Erwan and the team were just wonderful. They organised flexible accommodation, guided us on local services, showed empathy, and support. They took care of everything. I cry when I think back to that week, and how kind and caring everyone was. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are understated luxury, relaxing, and spacious. A tram run from just 1 minute away direct to the hospital. The hotel is in the heart of the shopping areas, and just 5 minutes walk from the cable car to the viewpoint. I'm pleased to say my son is making a full recovery. Emergency or not, this is the best hotel in Grenoble for location, quality and service. Thank you

"Great in Grenoble"

A great location. Lovely hotel and helpful staff. The room was big and clean with comfortable bedding. This is the only place we'd stay in Grenoble.

"Very comfortable rooms, great location"
bettyflo29, 06 Octobre 2025

I stayed 2 nights at the grand hotel and I had a good experience. The rooms were refurbished not too long ago and were clean, quite spacious. The bedding was good, the mattress super comfortable. The only down for me was the room temperature was 25 degrees. The heat controls were not working properly. I tried to bring it down to 19 and it was not doing it. I alerted the front desk before i went out and they said they'd monitor it . By the time I came back hours later it was still 25 degrees, so i struggled to sleep. My room faced rue de la Republique, but as it's closed to traffic, there was not much noise...I could just hear a few people speaking "in the distance", the double glazing did its job. The noise realy was not a problem and I am a light sleeper. The hotel is bang in the town centre and a minute walk to the Tramway which will take you to the Station. Nearby (ie 1mn walk) you'll find a Starbucks, a Croissanterie if you want a coffee and pastries, and a MONOPRIX for your toiletries and other bits, a pharmacy, a sushi take away. A bit further you'll find a carrefour City (4mn walk) and lots and lots of clothes shops, restaurants, bars etc Breakfast comes with 2 options: €12 for pastries and coffee, of €21 for the breakfast buffet. Whilst the room has a coffee machine and a couple of coffee pods, I would have liked to have some tea...... The room had a large screen TV, USB ports for charging phones etc, a small desk and shelves for your handbag etc, a mini bar, a safe, and storage space for your clothing. Towels were fresh and soft Shower pressure is more than enough and you have an overhead shower head and a handheld shower head. Shampoo and shower gel are complimentary, as well as soap and body cream by the sink. Blackout curtains are good, I was able to have a nap late aternoon without the light disturbing me (nor the street hubbub). Overall, I am pleased with my stay and will come back.

"Our day in Grenoble"
Tom C, 14 Juillet 2025

The hotel is a little hard to find amidst the one-way streets in downtown Grenoble. However, the location is great and right in the middle of things. Very easy to walk to the Telepherique and lots of restaurants. The staff at the hotel was great bringing me extra towels and cutlery so we could eat breakfast in our room after purchasing food at the local Monoprix, right across the street. We really liked the free sparkling water in the lobby area. You could take a carafe to your room.

"An excellent hotel in a charming city"
chshenrique, 25 Juin 2025

The Grand Hotel Grenoble was a hotel that really surprised me. It is located in a tourist area of the city where you can explore the city on foot. It is centrally located, the room is quiet, large and very comfortable. The staff are very helpful and the breakfast is excellent. I will definitely return to this hotel.

"Very centrally situated"
Christopher P, 10 Mai 2025

Very central great position in the city. Reduced rates at the local underground car park. Had a sweet little balcony overlooking the roof tops. Clean, modern rooms would say more 3 star then 4. Unable to comment on breakfast as not taken at 21 euros per person.

"Another great visit."
Wendiwanderer, 19 Avril 2025

Great location, great staff and clean rooms. Lovely small hotel in the perfect location for enjoyment. Restaurants, transportation and sightseeing. A big shout out to Tracy and Wendy who are wonderful to deal with. Would stay for a third time.

"Ok"
Stuart C, 31 Décembre 2024

First visit to this hotel. Basic 4 star in the heart of town. Missing some key facilities such as a gym (they have a 10e) agreement with a local gym. Room was fine but the door handle was fitted incorrectly (see picture) in the bathroom (218). Missed breakfast and no option to have room service etc. staff friendly.

"Very old Hotel- updated but still"
Jason F, 02 Septembre 2024

This Hotel was super hard to find, It's in the middle of a block that you can't even drive up to. Also, it's super old. The rooms were modernized some but I would definitely never stay there again. Was so hard to access, parking was more than two blocks away and not convenient

"Hotel has no regard for you privacy and will come in your room at any time"
mrsoul512bb, 05 Juillet 2024

I would sleep on a park bench before I would stay at the Best Western Grand Hotel Genoble. Simply this hotel is not safe to stay at due to the employees and management there. The first issue I experienced was employees will come in your room for no reason. In my case they came into my room while I was showering, and I was quite disturbed to come out of the bathroom naked to find two men in the room. Supposedly these were repair men, but they seemed to be simply examining my belongings when I came out of the bathroom. The second issue was the response of the hotel to this egregious invasion of my privacy. The lies and efforts to invalidate/minimize my displeasure with people in my room seeing me naked was horrifying. There was zero reason for anyone to be in my room. I was checking out within the next hour. There was nothing malfunctioning or broken in my room. All my belongings were out in the room. The shower is very loud in this small room. There is no way to come into the room and not hear the shower running or notice when it was turned off. My keycard was in the electrical activation switch, so I had to be in the room. And even before coming in the room- you can hear the shower running in the hallway. But the response from customer service department was disgusting. Her repeated attempts at discounting or ignoring my questions about why anyone was in my room while I showered were deeply offensive. How someone like her ever got into a position of customer service is disturbing since she seems to not know how to relate to the hotel guests. The response was that they offered me a $50 pittance for invading my privacy and their employees seeing me naked. This pittance was simply further insulting/hurtful and an indicator of what value the hotel manager puts to the guests. If total disregard for your privacy is what you want - this is the place for you.
