Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was great especially the fresh omelettes. Tina, Lily and Jose did a great job. The whole staff did a good job and worked with my Eagle Wing Motorcycle Association very well. Looking forward to returning next year.

The staff was extraordinarily helpful. Howard at the front desk and Laneice with the conference room AV equipment. Both went above and beyond to meet our needs for a 6-day event for professionals. And the breakfast service was excellent. Thank you!

My trip started off with a greeting from Hailey, I called to see if early check in was an option. She was very nice, she checked to see if the room type was available ( I arrived at 245pm), upon her return she told me, sure they do have rooms available. The check in process was a smooth process. The hotel was clean, the restaurant had great food and drinks, and the breakfast was outstanding. I was heading out early, but realized that the breakfast starts at 6am, Jose makes the best omelettes and it would be a waste of money to eat elsewhere. Last, I was customer of the day! When I arrived my name was printed electronically and placed in a highlight area for others to see. It was great to be acknowledged and to have my points pay for most of my stay.

Location was good right off I 75 and had the gators den sports grill connected. Rooms were fine but the beds were super hard and the pillows were fine. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. Would recommend this hotel. would be nice if the beds were a bit softer

Cycle Rally with over 300 members of EWMA, thoroughly enjoyed our stay for five nights. Very good breakfast, very clean hotel, staff was excellent. All our needs were taken care of efficiently. Kudos to Liz & Kim at the front desk, Also Josh & Josh along with Vanessa who all made our stays AWESOME. Will definitely return next year for more FUN Fun Fun!!!

Outside of the hotel is beautiful had a nice pool breakfast was great rooms need updated TV service wasn't that great.If u would spend some money on the rooms and update it would be a great place to stay.

My daughter has special needs and has many appointments at Shands. We've stayed at a number of hotels in the area and have been more than happy with our stays at this hotel. The staff here, especially Asia, has always been kind and accommodating. I'm always under a lot of stress, so the kindness, cleanliness, and comfort of the beds mean a lot during our stays.

The staff was very friendly ! We came for a hospital appointment from Idaho ,and they were awesome at picking us up at the airport and getting us where we needed to go!The breakfast was tasty with several options! The pool was beautiful! Brian the van driver is a 10 plus! The hotel itself was beautiful inside and out!

Front entrance is awesome. Very cool setup. Asia had a beautiful smile and was very helpful. Even though the computer kept glitching, she kept apologizing and was very helpful. The hotel is large and spacious. Plenty of parking and right off the highway.

I chose this place because of the proximity to some of the local Springs and rivers where I wanted to do some paddle boarding. Liz Ward, who checked me in, help me with guidance and direction and was extremely professional.

Room needed cleaning, the front office people were fabulous so I was surprised at how untidy my room was. Someone had clearly eaten in it & left crumbs & spilled soda all over the different surfaces. Their trash was left in the trash can! I found someone's false eyelash strip on the entrance by the door. Floor was still needing cleaning.

It's the best I've ever been too. Front desk attendants Liz and Ke Ke are the best during check in they are very welcoming goes above and beyond to make you comfortable always smile very polite and courteous I appreciate them even it comes to greetings my kids. Nice property with clean and comfortable rooms. We did not have a reservation, but KeKe at the front desk was friendly and efficient and quickly got us a room. She told us all about the hotel and amenities, including the breakfast omelette bar.

Dropped by for a drink at the bar. Despite that we live only about 2.5 miles away we had never been to this restaurant and bar. We were greeted warmly and promptly. We had a pleasant experience overall. We checked the menu for a return visit and dinner.

I have been going there for the past 2 month and let home tell you Asia Griffin is taking care of me. She is the best and me being away wrong home she has provided me with all necessary need that I have requested. Asia Griffin is my go to member. She is ready to go extra miles to assure that the guest get what ever they want

Wonderful experience. My family and I stayed this weekend for a wedding and I enjoyed my stay very much. Very nice hotel location secluded and staff were nice. Asia at the front desk was very nice and always greeted us as we came and went. Would recommend and stay again!

The budget hotel is excellent and a very pleasant surprise. Good looking grounds, great room and a good restaurant onsite. Friendly and accommodating staff. Comfortable beds, good parking - Just a good experience at the beginning of a long trip!

Id like to say that Jessi from the restaurant ( which was part of the building) was so sweet and very happy to serve me and my Aunt.She even made my Aunt a virgin frozen drink that was really good!! Her work ethic was perfect and I could tell she had pride in her job.She even came over to us and chatted with us about her other job as a teacher.She deserves a raise for she made our experience at the restaurant wonderful.

Asla at check in is fabulous and very informative. My family has to travel every 3 months for medical appointments and I never knew we were eligible for medical discounts for hotel stays. Asla has a very friendly smile and gave us a much needed welcome after a long day on the road. She even had a sweet treat for my kiddos!

The hotel accommodations were good, the breakfast was awesome, they had omelettes made fresh for you which was great, I was there for 9 days and the girls working breakfast were great at keeping it clean, keeping food filled up and tending to customers, they were great, but the guy helping them was not any help at all, he sat on the window sill on his phone and all he did was make omelettes, did not help them at all, I felt he was very lazy and un friendly, barely cracked a smile, I run a restaurant and this is not how you're suppose to behave in an environment like this, specially when you have a big crowd like I experienced on the weekends! Anyways I want to give a big shout out to the two girls working in the breakfast !! Good job girls !!!

Wonderful professionalism and helpful people at the front desk. An employee in particular, Elizabeth, was very good spirited. The restaurant has a variety of tasty entrees. I personally love the blackened grouper. My room was nice and tidy. I really can't pull out any cons about my experience there.

Housekeeping needs retraining. Pillows were very small. Linoleum needs washing. Carpets need washing as well. Room was cold on entry. Reception was good and orderly Breakfast was very good, Wi-Fi and entertainment channels very good.

Stopped for dinner while southbound on I75 in Florida. Atmosphere and staff were great especially Jessi. Bathrooms were clean. Located close to the exit across from the Harley Davidson dealership on the north end of Gainesville. Definitely will stop again.

Easy access off Route 75. Large facility that was at full capacity. Check-in a breeze. Received some good info on UF locale. Breakfast area busy but arranged so that it didn't feel crowded. Looking forward to returning as we pass through the area again.

We were greeted upon arrival by Asia, who expedited our checkin. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. Our room was lovely with a king sized bed & Jacuzzi tub. There's a restaurant on the premises which is so convenient. The breakfast menu even included made to order omelets. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Nice facility off the beaten path (so to speak)! Very accommodating for our needs. This was the second time using this Hotel when coming to Gainesville. We didn't even think of looking for another hotel in the area as we were/are pleased with the area and services provided both in the past and present.

I was STUNNED by this hotel. I expected a motel room, and stayed in a Queen's suite. Literally. The enormous room, bed and furniture were like a Presidential suite. The in-room Jacuzzi was incredible. The breakfast and staff were unbelievable.

This was the most pleasant Best Western I've ever stayed at. The location is beautiful and the amenities were amazing. This location has a beautiful scenery, wonderful pool/spa and a gym. The breakfast was delicious!

From the moment I called Hotel and Keyanna answered i was Overwhelmed by her knowledge and friendliness. Upon arriving it was Melody who gave the same friendly customer service!! The room was clean.

I had a very pleasurable stay. Even when my trip went longer than planned, the front desk manager was more than helpful arranging the longer stay. All the staff was wonderful! Gators Den is a nice sports bar with good food attached to the hotel. Again, all the staff was wonderful. One standout was Jessi. Her service was outstanding and always had a beautiful smile on her face. I will definitely stay here again if I am ever in the area again

I stayed at best Western Gateway Grand for four nights while in Gainesville on business. The hotel is very nice - clean and comfortable. The pool area was beautiful. Room was very comfortable and quiet with good work desk and internet connection. Breakfast was great with made to order omelets! All the front desk people were very helpful and friendly. However, Bob, the night person, went above and beyond. I had to leave the hotel very early for my flight out of Gainesville. Although I never felt unsafe, Bob volunteered to walk me to my car as it was before sunrise and dark. I very much appreciated that. I arrived at the Gainesville airport, retuned my car keys and got to the kiosk only to find the flight had been delayed by 4 hours. Rather than sit in the Gainesville airpot, I called Bob and he welcomed me back, gave me back my room key and I was able to rest and have breakfast before leaving on the hotel shuttle which Bob had arranged for me. I really appreciated Bob's excellent customer service. The shuttle driver was really great as well. There was good access to restaurants and shops in the surrounding area. Great place to stay when visiting Gainesville!!!!

Excellent place to stay. Nice amenities, beautiful grounds, and onsite dining made it a great stop while traveling through. Pool area is nice with poolside dining. Kere was very helpful and had us checked in and settled in no time. Will stay again.

Booked a room here for the night of a football game three months prior to the game. Hotel booked over my stay and was told room would not be ready until 10pm at the earliest, possibly later, was never given a firm new check in time. Was offered no apology from the front office manager and told that I would not get my money back if I cancelled even though (at no fault of my own) 1/4th of my stay at least was not available to me. Most disappointing part of the incident by far was the poor customer service from the Front Office Manager. Again, no apology offered and did not own up to the problem whatsoever. Just be aware that if you book a room here, especially for a game day, it is unreliable and the room you paid for may be booked over without even getting your money back.

Very nice looking hotel. A large parking lot and a nice entrance. They have a swimming pool and an equipped fitness center. The room is spacious with separation between the sleeping area and the “living room”. It has a small kitchen with fridge and microwave. The room has an iron and an ironing board, safe box, cable tv and a sofa. Everything is a little dated but still nice.

Great hotel, very friendly staff. Great room was surprised to find the hot tub in the suite. This was great for relaxing after a long day at work. The breakfast was very nice, with plenty of variety. Bob, helped me out for my next stay reservation. See you next week.

Amazingly friendly and competent staff. You have to try their omelette station in the mornings. No plain Jane continental breakfast here. Internet is stable and secure for business travelers. Best part is the value you get for the price you pay. Pool, spa, and gym - plus the Gators Den restaurant on site.

Very clean, friendly desk girl. AC in room didn't cool well and the bed was so hard with tiny lumpy fat pillows we left at 4am because neither of us could sleep. The shower was nice, good water pressure and it was cleaned and smelled decent. The tv worked well once you figured it out lol. The lighting was dim but that wasn't a big deal. Paid $300 for one Saturday night with double beds because the kings were all taken :( Never again.

First the good; the daily breakfast had nice choices including fresh omelets. The fitness center was a good size and had decent equipment. That's it. The place was not kept up at all. The floors, stairs and rooms weren't clean for 6 days. The maid came to do the room and only made the bed and changed the towels. Never touched the bathroom, yikes. The service was sloppy and the front desk lady had an attitude. Not going back.

Disappointed at check in, bathroom door didn't close/lock all the way & it was the smallest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel. One bed had small thrill pillows wrapped in cases, very uncomfortable. Second day no clean towels….had to go to front desk…it was not what we expected. However, Andrea B, the housekeeper, was friendly and very accommodating!

Beautiful location, comfortable furniture, GREAT complimentary breakfast! Best I've ever seen. Not only all the usual do it yourself bar but a fresh omelet station served/cooked by Tina Marie and Hailey as you like it. Jose is present to help if you have a special request or are on a restrictive diet. He even went into the kitchen and special cooked an entire breakfast for a lady who couldn't eat any of the items on the bar! Great people throughout the location and happy guests! Highly recommended!!

The hotel is well located, away from the Archer road traffic madness. There is plenty of parking and the staff was friendly and welcoming at check-in. Our room on the 3rd floor was spacious and quiet. The omelet station at breakfast was a nice surprise. We were there for a wedding gathering and the banquet food was delicious. Our large group was allowed to enjoy breakfast together in the banquet room the following morning.

We arrived late to this hotel, exhausted and hungry. We were greeted by friendly staff who offered us a snack and cold bottle of water. The room was clean and cool and just what we needed. We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel.

I came to the hotel for work in town and had to stay a few extra days. I felt between the amenities, breakfast and the restaurant, It was a great experience overall! The best thing I Can contest too was be sure to get a fresh omelet from the breakfast area!! Great staff

Had great expectations based on reviews. Unfortunately, reality did NOT meet expectations. Best things about it are the nice employees (front desk and omelette maker), the pool area, and the omelette station. Otherwise, our room (which was very unimpressive) was 77 degrees when we got in. We immediately put the a/c down as low as it could go (65). We stayed for about an hour then left room. Came back, and room was 77 degrees. Called front desk for help. Supposedly, A/C has sensor that will only cool if people are in the room. Housekeeping had to come check A/C in the evening but said it was working correctly and that it would take time to cool given the sensor. Well, I assure you we didn't leave the room for at least 10 hours and the room never got below 74 degrees! Felt warmer -- room was super stuffy and actually kept us up because of it. Talked to front desk in morning, but all they could say was that it is what it is until the A/C gets upgraded to a different system. Paid $145+ for no sleep. Uncomfortable mattress didn't help either. The other thing that was hard to go unnoticed were the filthy floors through the hotel. Was kind of disgusted with the lack of cleanliness throughout. Lastly, the only thing about the breakfast that was any different than every other BASIC hotel continental breakfast was the omelette station. This truly was good! I don't think I read very accurate reviews of hotel. Maybe they're all old reviews or people just don't care, but my recommendation would be to take your money elsewhere.

Stopped for one night while passing through. First time in the area. Pleasantly surprised at the lovely style of the lobby and outdoor areas. Very clean overall. Comfy beds. Nice breakfast with lots of choices including fresh omelets. Also a restaurant on site that we didn't have time to try but the menu looked inviting. The only thing we weren't crazy about was the bathroom configuration. A bit on the small side, but still very clean and well maintained. Convenient stop for a good night's sleep.

The pillows are the fluffiest I've ever felt! Love this place, very clean and professional place for my family. The breakfast was amazing with the fresh omelettes and we were able to take the food to our rooms as well which was a plus for my family as we like to watch tv.

Huge hotel next to I-75 and close to Gainesville Harley Davidson. AC unit was a bit of a challenge do to the privacy curtains. Towels were a little dingy. The hotel needs to be updated, but perfect for an overnight stay.

Great entrance and great service from Autumn. Very nice breakfast l, actually one of the best in a BW. The rest is downhill from there: electronic locks did not work had to change cards 5 times, batteries, rooms 3 times, the corridors are very dated, rooms could use a makeover, access is mostly through staircases, etc The front of the hotel had you thinking this is a 5 stars but go beyond and beauty is only skin deep. At least it's clean and yes the breakfast was great. I recommend because I've seen worse and the price was ok.

Great breakfast, my husband loves the omelette station. Staff are friendly. We have stayed three different times in the last ten months. There has never been people loitering in the parking lot when we came in late.

My wife and I travel to Gainesville, Florida once a month in order to visit my ninety two year old mother, who, lives in an ACLF there. We have found the staff at this property to be both friendly and helpful. In particular Alec Houser has assisted my wife on several occasions in connecting her Kindle device to the property's WiFi. Lena, who, works at the front desk has always been exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Additionally, Allison Rodriquez held cloths for me that I had inadvertently left in our room when checking out. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting the Gainesville, Florida area.

Other hotels in the area are nicer for less money. The bar and grill wasn't good and they over charged me twice. It is near the main highway so I guess that is their justification for overpriced mundane facilities.

There was an electrical short in the light fixture next to our bed. It could have been dangerous. Also, we were not informed of your "covid" policy regarding having our room serviced. It was not. I had to take the towel down to the lobby to get an exchange. In general, the room did not appear to be adequately cleaned. Also, the towels were almost "paper thin" and need to be retired. The high point of our stay was the breakfast bar, which was stellar.

We needed to rearrange travel plans as drove from MN in very high winds pulling a camper. Made this reservation online via a BW email the night before. It was a great price, but had a bad experience in Montgomery the night before so our expectations were low. When we pulled in we were encouraged. When we went to the front desk and were offered coffee, water and a basket of snack food even before registering we were ecstatic. Staff were very accommodating in helping us park our RV in the lot. Room was nice if small, breakfast selection very good and would love to come back to enjoy the pool area, fitness center and spa some other time. Highly recommend!

Was more than satisfied with this Gainesville, FL location. This hotel is very nice and if in Gainesville ever again I will definitely stay here. The location is safe and restaurants and the freeway all right there for convenience.

Comfortable beds, clean rooms, easy check in, friendly staff, and a great breakfast. It was a bit noisy (ground room, noise was upstairs) by quieted down by 11pm. Traveled with a pet, dog walking area was very large and clean. Small attached sports bar with good pricing and food.

Head'n Treasure (my business) celebrated two successful years of being in business. We've been working with Best Western for the last two years and it's been nothing short of amazing. They're staff is absolutely understanding and helpful. What's not to love?! We plan to continue having our celebrations here. Thank you each of you for your assistance. The Best Western Gateway Grand is the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. I've never stayed in such a luxurious hotel for such a reasonable price. The breakfast was amazing with a huge dining area to accommodate everyone and a large variety of food options. My husband commented several times that our room smelled so clean, not damp and musty like some hotels. The staff is helpful and friendly. Honestly, no complaints!

This is a very clean hotel. The staff members are courteous, friendly, and efficient. Our bed was exceptionally comfortable - very firm! The breakfast featured many options, including made-to-order omelets.

Our family have stayed at this location over many years and have always had a pleasant stay! The front desk staff as well as the housekeepers have always been friendly and accommodating. We started staying here as we traveled with our dogs, perfect grounds for them. It's a great location too.

I always enjoy myself at Best Western Gateway Grand, Gainesville, FL. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. They are available whenever needed and very personable. I particularly was appreciative of Mike, the driver who took me to and from the airport, as well as Autumn, who was very helpful front desk assistant throughout my entire stay there.

Our Thanksgiving weekend in Gainesville was made more special because of the wonderful staff at the hotel. Autumn, at the front desk, was welcoming. Danielle, Lyrika and Jose served Chef's delicious breakfast with smiles. Thanks to Tara, our room was clean and comfortable and the lobby a pleasant meeting place! Four-night stay near wife's hospital across I-75. This was a very pleasant surprise. As an older, convention hotel, we expected to ‘see' the mileage. Interiors are a bit dated but well-kept. Holiday decorations were elaborate. PROS: Room was clean; spacious; large TV with a great many channels; efficient, easily controlled a/c; excellent king bed, comfortable lounge chair and useful desk. Wi-Fi is fast and reliable; my Verizon cell had good service. Better than usual complimentary breakfast with many selections including custom omelet station (thx, Jose'). Big pool with outdoor entertaining area. Attached sports restaurant (in rear) is a great add. Mike, bartender/mgr, runs a very good operation even though he struggles to get/retain workers (like everyone in service/food industry today). Small, quiet bar area, perfect to watch games. Balance of hotel staff was very courteous and attentive. CONS: Impossible to find first time at night (in rain) without digital map to front door. You cannot see this large hotel at the I-75 exit @ 39th St N. Signage is almost non-existent; what there is (6' tall) is unlit. Only one elevator for 3 floors wasn't a problem at quiet season, but when sports teams visit to play UF with all of their players, coaches, wives and fans booked here, be sure you can climb the carpeted stairs (which hadn't been vacuumed recently). Great value for a very good hotel in a great location. Recommended, esp if budget is a concern.

When booking the impression of this property was great online. Upon arrival the lobby appeared grand and clean for the most part. Check in went ok and typical, nothing over and beyond in the way of customer service. The key card used to access the room didn't work so I had to return to get it re-keyed, and had to do this multiple times during my week stay. The rooms are not impressive; old and outdated. My room was not very clean, hair and dust everywhere. The bathroom smelled of urine. The window/wall A/C unit had been duct taped over the controls, there is a wall mount to turn the power on/ off and control the temp. Beds ok in comfort; size. (Two doubles) Rooms are not sound proof; heard everything from neighboring room. Breakfast was good, the Omelet station is a plus and T. Coffee was terrible; only had one morning and went out for the remainder of the stay. Utilized the Laundry facilities; floors were terrible; no cleaning attention in a while. Only one of the Two Washing machines were working. Stairs going to each floor from lobby always dirty; food, popcorn; hair from pets, dust, etc. always; never vacuumed during my stay at least. Location; ok; depending where your going each day; close to interstate with easy access. Overall; not a great stay enough to bring me back to this property. The impression from the online information is far more than what you get in person.

I would like to commend Autumn the young lady at the front desk. Autumn went out of her way to enhance our hotel experience. No matter how busy she was she handled each request with courtesy and a smile. Best Western Grand is very fortunate to have an employee such as Autumn.

Always a great experience at this hotel. Candi was terrific. She made sure the room was cleaned and we had all amenities in our room. The front desk agents and the breakfast attendants were fabulous. Never a bad stay.

My daughter had surgery and we had to stay over the weekend for an appt on Monday. The staff was very kind and helpful. Candi, who cleaned our room, was outstanding. When I asked her if she could freshen our room while I took my daughter out , she readily agreed with a smile. She was not even supposed to do our room that day. The breakfast was great and offered a nice variety. All in all, this is a great place to stay!

This was our second stay at this location. The hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly. The rooms are a very good size and the bed was extremely comfortable and had large size pillows rather than the smaller ones available at some BW hotels. There are quite a few restaurants within a 5 minute drive. We would stay here again.

The hotel was in a great location but after checking in the remote would not turn on the TV. Desk clerk partially fix it. We had to turn the TV on and off at the TV. It wouldn't mute the sound or turn the volume up or down. In the middle of the night the TV came on several times by itself. Since the remote didn't work you had to get up to turn it off. On the 2nd night the TV didn't come on during the the night but the 3rd night it did. We didn't get much sleep. The closet door would not slide and the door to the toilet room hit the toilet and was hard to shut.

Hotel is 3 stars, but the customer service bumped it up to 5. First room, ac wasn't working. Checked in late, and too tired to switch rooms after having traveled all day, so I decided to ask to switch rooms in the morning. Spoke with an employee named Dakota who moved us to a suite and it was great.

This property is one of the best BW I have stayed. The staff was very helpful and genuine, especially Karen, the breakfast attendant. She is a true example of what service industry should be, all about the people. The hotel has a hot tub and pool, is located away from noises and is very quite but still super close to the town, only 10 minutes away from the bustle of GNV.

The tile grout on the bathroom floor was so disgusting, I had to walk on towels so my feet would not be contaminated ... very gross. Also had to have the sheets changed on one of the beds because of a questionable stain on the fitted sheet which was there when we checked in. Even the rug was not thoroughly vacuumed because I found food particles on it.

Room was clean, comfortable and in great condition. Breakfast was complete with waffles, eggs, scrambled eggs and trimmings. Well organized. Front staff cordial and alert to any person in the lobby. Felt safe.

Nice hotel, clean, fairly well maintained and one of only 2 in Gainesville with airport transportation. Hot tub needed cleaning and air conditioner in room very loud, cycled all night. Didn't do breakfast. Both Michelle and Alex at front desk very helpful, as was Mike the driver.

Great stay clean and friendly. I use this location several times a year for work. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I recommend this location to my fellow coworkers. Easy access to the interstate and down town Gainesville.

The hotel is a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Leena checked us in and pretty much tended to all our whims and needs. Always with a smile no matter what time of day and usually with fresh baked cookies! She truly loves her job! The entire staff was quite accommodating. Hotel breakfast area had plenty of hot and cold food choices and was constantly being refreshed and attended. Food in bar was typical bar food just so-so. Actually was outside of the hotel around the corner of the property.

Hotel was great, but I mostly wanted to give a shout out to Karen who tends the breakfast buffet. It's so rare to see someone who genuinely cares about their customers so much! Thank you, Karen for making our trip more enjoyable.

Great hotel,close to my son's home which makes visiting so much easier. This is one of the cleanest hotels I've been in lately. Staff was friendly and professional. The lobby was large and welcoming and the pool was inviting. We didn't have breakfast before we headed home but it looked great. Very nicely presented s well

The staff never cease to amaze me. Ebony and Michelle are the absolute best, always going over and beyond to make sure my stay is nothing less of amazing. They are always smiling, respectful, and very knowledgeable. They made sure all of my needs and wants were met, and just overall amazing staff with excellent customer service.

My husband and I usually come to Gainesville for a couple of days during the week for work, but with the hurricane coming we added a day to this. Ebony was friendly and helpful checking us in, AND helping us find coffee cups at breakfast the next morning - apparently we were not the only ones evaluating here! Karen is always a joy in the breakfast room. She is always on the move, smiling and insisting she is "Living the dream!" Even though she has a lot going on she will always ask and listen to any requests, remember and follow-up on them. Amenities are wonderful from coffee to soap and shampoo in the room. Excellent all around!

Best Western Gainsville WE Stayed Sept 14-16 while husband was getting minor surgery. We have stayed at this Best Western several times. The hotel is just off the freeway tucked away across from Harley Davison store… You turn right at the Dairy Queen The hotel is a 3 story building with a significant added area around it with conference rooms and a resturant “The Gators Den Sports Grill”. they have great cookies avaliable on check in…yumm. We stayed in a King suite which has an extra room with couch and desk. The air conditioning unit under the window works well. The room has plugs and USB connections on desk and on one side of the bed. There are plenty of towels although they are a little thin from wear. Furniture a bit worn and curtains should probably be replaced. The room had a good refridgerator with microwave and coffee maker. Fresh coffee is ready by 5:00am downstairs. Overall there were great staff at front desk.The property seems kept up and clean on outside. The hotel is older everything is pretty clean,,,breakfast great. You can get a breakfast bag if you leave early. The second morning there we returned around 10:00 after my husbands surgery and staff member Karen rushed around to get him a breakfast sandwich and Orange juice even though breakfast was over. Thank you Karen.. Good resturant on site(The Gator's Den Sports Grill). I had a great chicken quesadilla with Cesar salad take out. We didnt use fitness center but know its been remodeled in past few years I am a swimmer and I love the pool here. It's just long enough to swim in and has a deep end so one can tread water and get some exercise. The deck area is big with plenty of lounge chairs chairs around and pool towels are avaliable by the pool. There is hot tub also. Ice machine works great.The card reader on our door took several tries to get it to open and we had keys reprogrammed once… This Best Western Hotel really meets our needs for short stays for medical appointments. We will continue to stay here when we are in Gainesville. LSJ6

This hotel is lovely - clean with great amenities however it's friendly service stands out as incredible. This is my second time here for a business trip and I can only highly recommend it. In particular Michelle and Autumn assisted me with checkin and the challenge of working without a physical credit card. They were friendly, helpful, hospitable. It has been folks like Michelle and Autumn who really make this facility a wonderful experience.

We stayed here on a football weekend. The staff at the front desk was very kind and worked so hard to help everyone in a timely fashion. The extra touches in the lobby included snacks and extra cold, icy water. They worked hard in crunch times to serve the traveling football team and fans. We arrived around 10:30. Mrs Leena greeted us with welcoming arms. Was very sweet and respectful. Check us in without any issues. My favorite part were the cookies. I definitely have to come by and buy some. Thank you <3

we stayed at Best Western because our home was flooded by two storms two days apart. For the first 5 nights our rate was between $107 and $116. The 6th night went to $300 per night. this was because it was a football weekend I appreciate that rates for football weekends are higher but we were there because of a major flooding problem. A little compassion would have been helpful.

I am always happy to stay here. It is comfortable and familiar. Those at the front desk are helpful and amicable. Both Michelle and the other person with her made sure my room was ready upon arrival. I look forward to staying here again. The room with the pool view is always a plus.

We experienced multiple quality control issues at BW Gateway Grand in Gainsville, Florida. This hotel was recommended by the lung transplant team at UF Health. We booked a 7 day stay and chose to stay out of the busy area of town because my elderly father is being evaluated for lung transplant and we wnated a quiet, peaceful, restful experience during the busy week of tests and procedures. We were there for 5 nights and despite multiple requests our room had not been cleaned. There were piles of damp towels and food trash in the room. We often aid meals in the room after a long day at the hospital and the smell was unacceptable after 5 days. I requested cleaning after day 1, spoke with a representative(Ebony, who was extremely professional and voiced understanding) on 2 different days at the desk and then spoke with the manager. When we arrived at the hotel on day 5 after my father had a medical procedure we found that the room was not cleaned. I spoke with the manager to inform him that the room had, again not been serviced. I told him that my father was resting and that we would be going back to the hospital at 4:30pm, and requested he please have the room cleaned or at least remove the overflowing trash bins. 45 minutes later, housekeeping knocked on the door, disturbing my Dad asking to clean the room. I declined. The same house keeper called the room 10 minutes later - again waking my recovering father - to ask if she could come clean the room immediately because "housekeeping would be leaving for the day soon." In addition, the light in the bathroom flickered because it was going out and the tub didn't drain. I found the staff to be friendly but the follow through on service to be abysmal. This is unacceptable. This hotel stay should have been quiet and relaxing and clean. It was the opposite of all of this. The manager gave us small discount that I feel paled in comparison to the service and stay that we received. The images on your website portray this as one of the nicer hotels in Gainsville, but it was the poorest experience with hotel travel that I have ever had.

Consultation @ Shands Hospital nearby. Convenient & comfortable. Leena @ check-in was excellent in every way imaginable…made our stay very inviting. Will need to return to Shands unfortunately but glad to find an excellent, nearby place to stay.

Karen was absolutely the friendliest morning server you could have! I needed coffee (delicious by the way) but after a sip I appreciated her smile & care! She was wonderful assisting some seniors with their meal.

The Gateway Grand does the Best Western name proper. The front desk staff is pleasant & helpful. The rooms are fairly spacious and beds are comfortable. The breakfast in the morning is a big plus and the wait staff is always ready to lend a hand. Makes being away from home on business a little more tolerable. Good Job Gateway Grand!

MICHELLE front counter attendant was absolutely amazing. From being greeted with a smile to a pleasant attitude, she helped me and accommodated with what I needed. So glad I chose this hotel she really helped me when needed and made my experience great!!

When we checked in Michelle was very helpful in finding the right room at the right price. The next morning we were delighted at the breakfast provided and Karen, who showed us where everything was and made us feel welcome. We extended our stay another day and at the desk Ebony was very helpful then and when we checked out.

I've been away from home for many months and when I walked in I felt absolutely welcomed and appreciated. Leena thank you for making me feel like I mattered. A wonderful attitude makes all the difference in a customer's perspective and whether or not they will return and or refer The Establishment to someone else. The facility itself is very nice - but upon closer inspection was not completely clean like the appearance suggests; first impression was garbage overflowing out front - could have just not been changed yet, they appeared to be full or very busy during my stay. Front desk reception could have been better - the girl was clearly on a personal call and without acknowledging me, continued until finished - that put me off immediately. Once she finished her call, she was very mannerly and pleasant. Sleeping was good. We were on the 3rd floor and it was quiet, the room was comfortable. The hallway steps when going down for breakfast looked like they hadn't been vacuumed. When deciding on breakfast overheard another guest say there was "hair in the gravy" - that did it for me. We opted for dry cereal instead and a muffin. I went for coffee and the container was empty (again they were busy), and I didn't want decaf so checked out and got coffee elsewhere. I think for $153 to sleep, and the appearance of the property I expected more - I read all the reviews first and ratings, and figured it would be decent.

Leena, Michelle, and Bob are amazing. The room was top notch and clean. This is not the Best Western I remember. From the floors, to the parking lot, everything was clean and well kept. HIGHLY recommended.

I appreciate the staff, especially Autumn and the AGM Josh(I think). We started our trip out at a different hotel which was horrible. The BW 100% made up for it and I should have went there originally! I was very surprised we were able to reserve a room because it was graduation weekend but BW was able to get us a room! We had another hiccup checking in at the BW but they fixed it immediately! Will always come to this location when we come back to Gainesville! Thank you all so much!

Michelle greeted me with a hello and a smile as I walked in the door to check in. She checked me in early so I could get my day started and let me know about ALL the amenties availble to me during my stay, in detail. My room was clean and quiet, the breakfast crew and offerings were wonderful and the pool area was very nice. Check out was just as smooth and informative for my next stay. Overall great customer service all the way around. I will definitely stay again on my Gainesville, FL trips.

The refrigerator inside the room sounded like angry bees. There was a dead roach on the window sill. The bathtub was clogged and the ice machine was broken. This was a great inconvenience since the hotel was filled with softball players and an ice machine is of great importance.

The staff at this hotel are very attentive and helpful. They were extremely full the night we were there and didn't have an extra towel readily available for us (3 towels for 4 people). However, Leena offered to go back to another are to get us our towel and to bring it to us. They were quite busy, but made customer service a priority. The pool are is big and beautiful ( but we were too late to enjoy it, so I can't comment on the pool itself). The reason I rated a 4 instead of 5 is because the hotel is a bit dated and the room could have been cleaner. Thin, I'll fitting sheets. It wasn't horrible, but needs some improvements to be 5 star.

I traveled alone for 18 hours and was exhausted. Upon my arrival I was greeted by two employees, Michelle and Autumn. They were very pleasant, helpful, kind and knowledgeable. We even shared laughter together, as they guided me, provided detailed information and made sure I was aware of the delicious breakfast that would be served the next morning. My room was large enough for me and my luggage and was very warm with all amenities I expected and more. Room service was on the ball and there was a very little wait time for the meal I ordered. The next morning, I enjoyed the breakfast, as I saw it as a spread of deliciousness. I then approached the greeter, Ebony who assisted me with my transportation and more detailed information. She was also, knowledgeable, kind, professional and we share laughter together. But, from beginning to end, the gentleman who gave me TOP NOTCH transportation service, Bryan was wonderful. He was more of a safe, comfortable tour guide, as we past buildings and answered every question I had in my head. All the way around, I would recommend this staff and location for any one's stay!!! The young lady at the front desk was kind, pleasant and greeted me immediately with a smile. I arrived quite late and the lobby was busy with people talking and enjoying the atmosphere. It was a great way to end the day.

Everyone was so helpful and amazing. Everything was clean and smelled great. Every single person said hello (staff) and always asked if we needed anything. The price per night was great as well. I can't wait to go on another mini vacay.

The air conditioner was not working right, the tub was backed up to where we were standing in 6 to 7 inches of water. Two light bulbs were out, and the TV did not work. We called down to the desk and were told they were busy and would have to wait. None of the problems were ever addressed.

I just completed a 2 month class through my work here and was amazed how clean and nice everything was. Especially speaking outside! The employees such as jarred took time to always asked how I was doing and how I liked the gateway grand. I seen him on multiple occasions working hard and taking care of the facility. Whether it was the landscape outside close to our vehicles making sure not to damage anything, to making sure the restrooms were fully stocked and in working order. Great staff overall!

Ebony was absolutely wonderful! She was polite and thoughtful—we, a family of four and dogs, were given a room near the pool(ohhhh my boys loved that!!) and we were able to sleep the whole night! We stayed only one night but would definitely come back! They have a clean pool and the hot tub was amazing!!! Breakfast was full of choices and all of it tasted delicious!

AC didn't work. Leaked all over the carpet. When I reported it no one did anything. Ended up being moved the next day after another complaint. Terrible experience. In a decent location which helped but would of spent more money for less problems.

Great place to stay, close to basically everything.. It was literally 2-3 minutes to my conference venue. Price was very good. The bed was comfortable, reliable Wi-Fi, great hot breakfast. Tha bathroom area need to be upgraded.

The Gainesville High School Class of 1967 celebrated our 55 year reunion May 20-22, 2022. It was an unbelievable experience and everyone loved the Best Western Gateway Grand Again. The service and efficiency and professionalism were superb. There were approximately 80--85 attendees throughout the weekend. The food was Super and Everyone is still talking about it. Heavy Appetizers Friday night and a fabulous buffet with four entrees (including the best Beef Tenderloin carving stations Ever) on Saturday night. Sunday breakfast was wonderful also. Dining and Dancing and Socializing were enjoyed by all. Shannon Hamby and Scott McAbee were outstanding Event Coordinators and a pleasure to work with! The Hotel Staff and Service was also outstanding. This is the 3rd time the Best Western Gateway Grand has handled a major GHS Class of 67 Reunion. They seem to get better each successive time. Thank you!!

I would absolutely stay here again! Customer service was off the charts beginning with check in with Ebony. Alex was extremely helpful with my key card problem. He gave me valuable information that I will use again. Stacey, from housekeeping totally went above and beyond to answer my question. This staff understands customer service and delivers.

We traveled for ours sons basketball tournament and stayed at this hotel. Upon arrival the staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and well stocked. We eat at the The Gator Den that was attached to the hotel. Food was great and friendly. All and.all it was a.great stay.

Cardinal Gibbons Track and Field has used this hotel 2 times this year for our stay in Gainesville. Each time we booked we had the pleasure of working with Ebony who went above and beyond to help accommodate the needs of the team. We had to make a few changes to our reservation and every time she helped and made the adjustments we needed with the best attitude and customer service. I just wanted to highlight her efforts that went above and beyond. Thank you Ebony, Best Western is lucky to have you.

I've stayed here multiple times and I think it's getting better. The mattresses seem to be improved. Pillows are good. The sitting chair and desk chair are comfortable and better than I remember. The HVAC units are a bit quieter. Unfortunately, the doubles are double beds, not queen beds. There just isn't enough room for queen beds. Even though I was just off the lobby, noise was not a problem. The room was clean. Some tiles are cracked, and the light bulbs are a little weak for reading in bed. Otherwise, the bedrooms are fine. The breakfast buffet has more hot choices than before (new pancake maker, hot pans with eggs, grits, sausage, biscuits and gravy). The Gator Den has a better menu than before. They still have free ice water in the lobby, and welcome snack bags. I used the pool this time. The water was clean and the temperature was perfect. There were some leaves in the pool, but it's almost impossible to keep leaves out of pools in Florida unless you have a screen over the pool, and that hurts the overall ambience of a pool. Lots of comfortable chairs and chaises around the pool. Units now have a microwave and a mid-size refrigerator which work well. The shower head is good with fast, hot water and plenty of it. Sufficient toiletries. Service is still great. I thought the price was good. It's on the north edge of town, not downtown or near the university, but they're only a few minutes away.

This hotel is convenient for UF activities and it has a delicious breakfast. The pool is nice and the restaurant was good with a selection of craft beers that did not disappoint. My room was big and had a comfortable bed. This is now my “go to” Gainesville hotel.

The King hot tub suite was clean spacious. The hot tub fit two people very easily. The hotel as a whole was clean and the staff was very friendly. It was a great getaway and a comfortable space to share with my husband!

Have been staying at this location during travel for the last 10 years. This time the room smelled dingy and AC rattled all night. Freezer was iced up, couldn't use. Had to drive another 500 miles the next day and was exhausted.

Great location for University of Florida-Gainseville travel. Super clean throughout property-lovely pool area with plenty of casual seating and floral landscaping, nice pub style restaurant on property adjacent to pool/main hotel. Saw meeting room options, expansive lobby, friendly, attentive staff. Full hot breakfast with the usual (pre-Covid) offerings. Suite room offers ample space for in room work with large desk with office chair and couch with coffee table and another arm chair by bed. Apt sized fridge and sink area next to KEURIG coffee maker-yay!!- and the bathroom has an actual exhaust fan which is wonderful after a steamy shower with the ample hot water and ridiculously strong water pressure from high mounted shower head. (If you're tall you will appreciate this! I rinsed out my waist length hair with ease. My only wish would be for cushier bedding-I like a soft fluffy bed-the one we slept on was firmer than my preference, but that's pretty typical regardless of where we stay. Great property and good value for the region-right near I75, Harley Davidson dealer, Dairy Queen and gas station on entry road but hotel property was quiet and peaceful. Rim of woods provides birding options for enthusiasts and good sound break from traffic noise which was never noticed even sitting out by pool.

This hotel was amazing. Everything was super clean, the staff was very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was fresh every morning, and the amenities were spectacular! The event planners did an excellent job and the venue was perfect for our reception/party. From food to the bar to the table settings, everything was lovely. The guests who booked rooms were very complimentary about how nice, clean and comfortable they were. Our hot tub suite was beautiful and was a wonderful gathering place and getting ready before the party. I would highly recommend Best Western for reception/parties or just staying there while traveling. Excellent hotel!

The staff here was excellent. Josh, Zack, Shannon, Karl, Chef Tex, Alex and driver Mike They went above and beyond to be sure we had a great stay. We had a couple issues on arrival, but they were quick to fix them.

Very nice accommodations. Staff was extremely friendly making you feel welcome. Meeting rooms were well prepared for the numerous events. During the time I was setting up the staff was available to help out when we asked.

Quiet location, clean and nice size room. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Unfortunately we slept too late to enjoy the breakfast, but the area seemed like it would've been a good breakfast! We were in town for a college visit to UF and this location wasn't too far and not too close.

Check in and check out was quick, and the staff was very pleasant. They recognized my Best Western status, and offered a few free treats. The room was clean, and quiet. The breakfast room was huge, and had numerous areas with options.

The grounds were very well maintained. It is a beautiful building with a pool and hot tub. It has a fitness room and you can make an appointment for a massage or facial. Ebony at the front desk was very courteous and helpful. All of the staff was friendly.. Our room was clean and spacious. Nice little suite with a sofa, desk, microwave and mini fridge. We got room service from the hotel restaurant and it was convenient, reasonably priced and tasty.

Incredible staff! Friendly, knowledgable and fast to give a response. Vanessa and Shannon with Event Coordinating were both rock stars when it came to helping me with the plans for our wedding weekend. We had specific things we wanted to go for ourselves and out guests and they made it happen! All of our guests talked about how amazing and how friendly the staff was, how AWESOME the food was, and just how great their stay ended up being. My husband and I are local to the area of Best Western Gateway Grand and we had low expectations. Boy were we blown out of the water!

Our stay was part of a wedding block and was the recommended hotel for this specific wedding. There was nothing wrong with the hotel but there is not much around, specifically with in walking distance. The rooms were average. We did not take advantage of the breakfast because it was extremely crowded. We did utilize the restaurant and bar located on site and thought it was overall good. The lack of cleanliness in the common areas was noticeable but again this could have been due to the high volume of guests. Pricing was good. Overall, it was a place to get ready and rest our heads while in town for a wedding but I wouldn't seek out the hotel for a return trip.

That is a great hotel. The folks are pleasant; the property is great. I always stay at Best Western because of the great breakfasts. I even bring my own genuine maple syrup from Vermont. We were in town for our 61st high school reunion and the venue was this hotel.

Used the services of the Best Western Gateway Grand over the course of a three day wedding weekend. The hotel was used to house our out-of-town guest. The rooms are very nice. Friday night, after the rehersal dinner, we used their banquet services and a banquet room for a wedding guest welcome gathering, Sunday we used their banquet services once again to host a morning brunch for those guest that stayed in the hotel. Our entire experience with Shannon and Vanessa, who helped us plan these events was fantastic. Shannon checked in on us during both events to make sure all was going well. The food for both nights was great and we thought the value was there all the way. Worth considering if you're looking into a spot to host your quest or next event.

We come here every six months to visit the hospital and the shuttle service is great. Being able to wake up and have a warm breakfast before a long day at the hospital is what this hotel provides. The room has not been very clean the last few times we have been dirty toilet and dusty room. The rooms have carpet and they are pet friendly. I feel that the carpet should be removed so the floor can be cleaned properly with pets. That's one of the big downfalls. But again great access to the hospital, nice warm breakfast and the pool is great after a long day.

the welcome starts at the door and the feeling stays with you all thru your stay.. rooms are very clean and bed is comfortable .. the bar and restaurant are a nice surprise for bar food it is awesome .breakfast is a lot more food than you find any place else these days .. and check out is a breeze

The hotel puts on a good front by its name at lobby but the rooms are very dated and all patched up. My room had mold and rust and you could tell where they had painted the walls that weren't matched up. The carpet was also frayed and of course we were there for a special weekend so they jacked the price up. I will not stay here again definitely not worth it probably even at a regular price. Every time we travel to Gainesville we book at the Gateway. Rooms are spacious and well priced. The bedding is comfy and clean. Having the restaurant/bar in the hotel makes it easy if you don't want to travel to eat. The breakfast they offer is brilliant. The pool area is large and very nice. The staff has always been super accommodating. Definitely will keep staying there and recommend it to others who are traveling to the area. It is by far one of the nicest Best Westerns that my husband and I have stayed at. Ebony at the front desk is amazing!!

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights due to my car breaking down. I was welcomed by the nicest people, excellent location being near I-75, great staff, great pool area, and rooms were very clean. 100% recommend

A good location, friendly staff, clean rooms, overall good value. When we return to this area we will definitely stay there again. It is right across from Harley Davidson showroom an add bonus. Sony's BBQ is right down the road and a great place to eat

The hotel us just beautiful, The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, The price was great, The breakfast was hot and sooo good, so many choices. We only could stay one night wished I had more time, the pool and hot tub looked great from my window...would have liked to use the gym too. Overall best place I have stayed in a long time. The beds were so comfortable. I will be back !!

Attractive and clean! Lovely, quiet room! Feels like a very expensive hotel! All the employees were so friendly and helpful! Enjoyed a delicious meal at restaurant in the evening and delicious breakfast! Would highly recommend staying here!

Ebony was fabulous!! We were treated wonderfully. We had everything we needed when we needed it. They tended to our family of 4 for 2 weeks. We had a room with a queen and king beds. The facility was clean and very welcoming. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. Everything for adults, a 7 and 8 year old and a 20 month old. There were yummy options and healthy options. The children loved making the waffles. Ebony and Meisha helped us book the room. We had to extend the stay for an extra week. Would gladly stay here again. It was close to home, school, and the interstate. Nice gas station close and publix and restaurants within a mile. The restaurant gators den was delicious and the service was great as well. We had a home away from home for my family. Ebony treated us like family and was so good to us. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend. I would not stay anywhere else in Gainesville.

We (spouse and pet) had stayed at this property for four nights and had an excellent time. The housekeeping staff consistently did a wonderful job. Breakfast was hot and tasty. The pool and hot tub were clean and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone interested in a clean, peaceful environment close to the city.

This hotel was very nice and clean. The room was large with a separate sitting area and the linens and pillows were high quality. Having a restaurant in the same complex was nice after traveling all day and wanting something quick. The breakfast was good and the staff were all exceptionally nice. I was shocked to talk to a housekeeper who worked evenings! Very unusual.

While I was staying at the hotel, I had a family member get into a car accident in another city. Ebony was super gracious, kind, helpful with a act of kindness that I can't send enough grattitude to. I needed something printed and she personally took care of it for me and got it printed. Whole staff at this hotel are super friendly and professional!

They provided everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The room was spacious and very clean. Staff was observed cleaning everything to combat COVID. No concerns whatsoever. Breakfast selection was very good.

I love staying here. It's right off the expressway, but once at the hotel you cannot hear the traffic. Gainesville has numerous great restaurants that are within a few miles of the hotel. There is a pool and hot tub behind the hotel with lots of area for sun bathing and covered tables for gathering. They have an above average facility for working out. Very clean and organized. If you're lucky you'll have Ebony at the front desk to help you!

We love staying at the BW Gateway Grand in Gainesville; many terrific memories. But today I am commenting on a trend of increasing excellence I have noted recently in the attention to customer care and details in cleaning at the hotel. I have observed the front staff and housekeeping staff doing small, unexpected cleaning and maintenance duties with vigor. Their cheerfulness and desire to please the guest has always been excellent. Now, it's even better. And this morning (12/31/2021), over an unexpectedly-tasty breakfast, I observed with delight the servers Rebecca and Johnathan managing the Breafast Area with professionalism of restaurant wait staff. They were both solicitous of any special needs, suggested helpful ideas for the fare, offered to help carry food, maintained cheerful, friendly conversations with both returning and new guests, and cleaned up the food service area with great energy. I was impressed, particularly for eh level one finds with complimentary hotel breakfasts. I commend the person who saw the talent and commitment these two people. I include the rest of the staff in this evaluation, but these two were the face of the company today. On that basis BWGG was looking very, very good to me, actually helping me find positivity for the new year! Side note - This is a minor beef, but why do away with daily USA today?

Great staff. Good check-in procedure. We had the king suite. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Nice size frig/freezer and microwave. Cook top, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, etc. Liked sink separate from shower and toilet in bath area. Showerhead a bit funky but functional. Good wifi. Only real negative of the room was AC unit immediately to right side next to the head of the bed. Had to block 1/2 with suitcase and pillow to keep head from freezing. Very poor layout design by architect. Breakfast better than most with bacon, eggs, grits, oatmeal, cereals, waffles, Danish, bagels,etc. Eggs appeared to be powered eggs and were cut into large cubes, but tasted OK. Hotel has restaurant/bar with good beer. Wine, and liquor selection. Wish I had eaten there instead of sorry-excuse-for-bar-b-que I had elsewhere. Would definitely stay here again if stopping in Gainesville.

Ebony, the front-desk agent, was extremely helpful in resolving a booking issue that I had. Not only was she helpful, she was very professional, friendly, and welcoming. With staff like Ebony, I will definitely be returning the this Best Western hotel on my next trip to Gainesville, FL.

First the check in/check out was not friendly, nor the breakfast server or housekeepers. Nobody smiles, thanks you for being at Best Western or for staying. Nobody mentions Happy Holidays as we were there for Christmas. Our son is in the U.S. Army and we had to meet him half-way as he can't leave the base more than 250 miles. I suggest if you bring food, even if it in a closed container, to not leave it out as you will have ants! Even on the third floor, we had ants attack all the baked goods I had spent the previous day baking! Manager refused to come out and talk to me about it, all he did was comp me a free night, that was not what I was looking for, it was nice yes, but I only wanted to talk to him, show him where they were coming in from and replace the muffins, peanut brittle and such. Hotel is very nice, decorations were beautiful and breakfast was good, loved the waffles. But as far as a great guest experience, they fell short. A smile goes a long way. Having housekeepers hang around the front desk all day is not a great look either. And we had no control over the heat/air, so our room was freezing even though it said the heat was on at 72 degrees.

I recently stayed at the BW Gateway Grand hotel. The staff was so kind and courteous, let me check in early and offered me a selection of rooms to ensure comfort and quiet. The airport shuttle driver, Mike, was a delight to visit with on the drive to the airport!

Our only regret is that we were here for only 2 nights. The lobby was brightly decorated for Christmas which was a beautiful way to start our stay. The room was clean and good sized. Our grandson loved the hot tub and fitness center. A great place to stay.

Best hotel for our visit with family member in Haven Hospice. Good location within 5 minutes to Haven Hospice, multiple restaurants, Publix, Walgreen Pharmacy (offers Free COVID travel tests), Churches and main routes through Gainesville and to Inner-state highway I-75

Asked for a quiet room, which is not always possible when at capacity. We were lucky and slept with no slamming doors or other noise. Great bed and all the needed amenities. Quick in and out as we don't eat breakfast.

I don't believe you would be able to find a better hotel to stay in than the Gainesville Gateway Best Western! The staff is world class! 4 stays in 2 months, dealing with my son's medical issues but our hotel choice was not one of the worries we had! Excellent experience EACH time!

We have stayed at the Gateway Grand many times and always enjoy going to the Gators Den sports bar on the property. Food is usually good but not great. Things have changed since they have a new cook named Jermaine! Got the chicken quesadilla and found it stuffed with an abundance of chicken and grilled onions and cheese. So impressed I asked who was in the kitchen now. Great meal Jermaine.

Great customer service, very helpful and kind. Very attractive and she's great at her job. They kinda wrong for making me write 200 words for this review but I guess it okay I really do t have much else.

I will miss stepping into the hotel lobby or leaving the elevator to be greeted and engaged by the most amazing staff. They were friendly, attentive and accommodating. I really enjoyed having the option to grab breakfast in the morning. The jacuzzi and the business center were my favorite areas to relax and get things done. Sending a special 'shout out' to Ebony. I saw Ebony at the front desk the most. She was very pleasant and helpful.

The hotel facade is beautiful, the service outstanding. Great breakfast and excellent amenities. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. It is also near to UF and right off of the highway. Great location!

The staff at this location are second to none in customer service. Can't wait to visit again. The grounds and the rooms are exceptionally clean and from the moment I set foot on this location I could feel the positive energy.

after driving 4 hours to get there....overbooked rooms so they did not have the double bed room that i booked, therefor two adults and 3 kids had to share one bed. Didn't offer any sort of discount or extra room to accommodate their mistake...

Wife became disabled after we made the reservation several months before our stay. When I remembered to call to change the reservation, no disabled rooms were available. The receptionist took a while, but found us a disabled room reasonably close to the elevator. It saved our trip!

The hotel was tucked away from the main road at a dead end. However, it was bigger than I expected and very well kept. The lobby was pretty and the room was clean. Ebony, the front desk clerk, was very professional and pleasant. It was at the end of the day and she was so very helpful.

If you need a hotel in Gainesville this is the one at which to stay!!! The price is very good and with this you get the most friendly responsive staff, a restaurant on the premises, the cleanest most comfortable rooms, delicious complimentary breakfasts with a wide range of food, a hotel shuttle, beautiful grounds with deer that come up to feed in the evenings, a full range exercise room. An unbelievable value. I can't thank the management enough. Someone is really doing it right!!! You would be hard pressed to find a better place.

Nice quiet spot, wish I had used the pool but did not have time. Visiting daughter at UF for Parents Weekend. Its right across form the Harley Dealership but was still quiet enough , no doors slamming either.

The Gateway was just what we needed as we returned from 2 weeks in the French Quarter of New Orleans where all is old, small and not always the cleanest. 8 hours later we arrived at the BW gateway Grand and were welcomed back to normalcy. A great feeling!

Off the beaten downtown track, so easy to get to after big games. Clean, comfortable. All the amenities. Good location near Santa Fe College. We've stayed at this hotel so many times over the past 20 years! The pool and garden areas are lovely, as is the lobby. Very good experience.

The staff is friendly but the General Manager does not care. We were scheduled to stay for two night but woke up to a room full of bugs with no urgency from management to get it cleaned. When we complained took pictures and even maintenance confirm the manager had the worst attitude and refused to refund back the night . After awhile he did give in to a full refund and to cancel the 2 night.

The shuttle drivers are fantastic. Mike McWilliams and Bryan (not sure of his last name) were on time, courteous and respectful. The property could use a bit of updating but it had everything that I needed and more.

We stayed at multiple hotels on our drive across Florida this was the worst hotel mainly because of the beds and the breakfast experience. On a positive the pool area was very nice and very clean and in general the hotel was nice Which is why it was so hard to understand the old beat up beds in the rooms. By far the oldest and most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. There were literally Springs popping up every time you try to move and huge sunken indents were people have laid previously. The breakfast experience was brutal it felt as if staff really did not want us there there was no clear direction about service and when you would try to serve yourself because no one was there someone will come running out yelling at you telling you you couldn't touch anything. So each person would walk up not understanding and get admonished by staff Even though there was no clear direction or staff member posted and people are just trying to eat. At 10 AM on the dot they rushed out to have the food put away even though there were people still trying to get food because of the poor set up. They even took away the waffle batter while people were still in line waiting to make waffles. The breakfast staff appeared very inconvenienced by people coming to eat breakfast

We have to thank management and Josh for helping us and going out of his way. Very Happy with Hotel and staff. Would highly recommend for a stay in the Gainesville area. The pool area is clean and the sports bar was excellent

We had a wonderful stay at the BW Gateway Grand during our recent trip to Florida. The Rooms are clean, housekeeping staff are amazing, and the front desk staff very friendly. A special shout-out to Delaynie for being so helpful during out check-in. Will definitely stay at this place again!

We had a short stay at the BW Gateway Grand on our way to Ichetucknee Springs, but both mornings we had the delight of being served by Stacy and Jonathan. They both made our breakfast experience worth the stay. Always going above and beyond to help, especially when my son forgot to spray the waffle maker and created a hot mess. Stacy quickly jumped in and helped get it fixed. Thanks again, keep up the great work.

This was one of the nicest Best Westerns we have ever stayed at. Great service and an excellent room. Bets Western always offers good values but this Hotel is a great value. If you need a room in Gainesville, I would definitely recommend this Hotel.

Bob works the front desk and was always smiling and happy to attend to every need we had. At breakfast we were greeted by a happy, smiling, energetic soul who went by the name Stacy. Both of these employees made our stay great.

Friendly, professional and excellent service for breakfast. The entire stay was worry fee from checkin to checkout. Just stopped in for an overnight rest and found the hotel well priced, courteous clean, comfortable and secure.

Excellent place, but ice and vending machines down on many floors. Room was awesome. Staff excellent. Stacy served breakfast, totally awesome. She was amazing!!! Tax rate seemed high. Over all, great place to stay!

We stayed here because of the location, close to I-75. Room was clean and breakfast was good. Stacy served us breakfast and she was amazing! Very courteous and food was simple but fresh, coffee hot and tasty! Only 4 star due to the noisy air conditioning in the room. Everytime it kicked on, it made a loud buzzing sound like an alarm clock! Hope maintenance will fix it for the next guests.

While the service I received throughout my 5-day stay at the hotel was excellent on many levels, I wanted to highlight the exceptional service of the breakfast crew, Stacy and Jonathan. Not only were they consistently efficient, friendly and accommodating in their service, but they went out of their way to assist with taking used plates and cups to the trash receptacles, cleaning tables, asking how they could further assist, etc. Considering the exceptional service they offered, I feel compelled to give credit where credit is clearly due!

Traveling on motorcycles with friends. Their motorcycle had a break down stopped at the Harley Davidson dealer across the street for repairs. The HD needed all day to work on it so we walked across the street to the BW told them about the issue at hand. They let us check in at 11am without an extra charge. Ebony who was at the front desk was very helpful and understood. She made sure we everything we needed and got us into rooms without any issues. I would highly recommend this hotel to any travelers going though the area. Their is a sports bar on site for an evening meal, which is great.

Everyone from Nicky at the front desk, to the servers at breakfast, were welcoming and professional. The rooms were very clean, beds were comfortable, breakfast selection was good and pool looked sparkly clean. We were pleasantly surprised!

Great place. Touch of elegance and grandeur. Desk staff waa wxcellent and since this trip was out of the blue provided me with any all sundries I needed Room was excellent clean and refreshing. I did not partake in the pool or other accoutrements this Hotel offered but I enoued the stay and room. Breakfast was served by Stacy and her two companions, Jonathan and the other one name escapes me. They were kind attentive and quick to service. Inwillbstay here again and again

The hotel is very pretty from the exterior as well as upon entering. The staff at the desk is very nice and helpful. The breakfast crew (stacey and Jonathan) are very nice. Stacey is more than willing to help with whatever you need and is extremely sweet. I think the room we stayed in (king suite with a hot tub in the living room) was awesome! However I do think updating the rooms to look more modern instead of outdated like going to grandmas house for the weekend would be even better. My husband and I sleep with AC on 65 every single night but our AC wouldn't go below 72 which made it hard to stay asleep without waking up every hour because we were hot.

Stacy attended us during breakfast and she was amazing. My cousin had a spill and she came quickly to come clean it up and take care of him. We are really happy with hotel's service especially Stacy's.

I came to town for the difficult task of moving my father into assisted living. I was emailed an early check-in option which offered an upgrade to a jacuzzi suite for $125. Knowing this would be a stressful trip with lots of heavy lifting, I opted for the upgrade. When I arrived, they put me in the wrong room- no biggie. I was given another key to the jacuzzi suite. After about an hour, I was told that the "upgrade" was really $125 per night (this was not evident from my receipt, which only showed a $125 charge). So I was told to move to another room. Then I was told I could stay in the suite, and move the next day. When I asked when I should move the next day, I was told I would have to check out at 10am, and check back in at 3pm (?!!). I am paying for six nights at this hotel, and an entire day of that I would be essentially homeless. I asked to be put in a regular room right then. This room had a balloon on the floor, disheveled sofa cushions, ketchup on the wall, and sugar spilled all over the kitchenette. When I complained about the state of the room (the THIRD one I had been moved to), I was told it was my responsibility to tell housekeeping the next day. No apology, no attempt at offering to fix it. Several times I asked for housekeeping (they do not offer unless you ask), and they never came. At least four times, my keys did not work, and I had to keep coming downstairs to get them reactivated. I have never stayed at a Best Western before, and guarantee I never will again. Do yourself a favor, and go to a Marriott instead.

The woman that checked us in was very smart and friendly. Got us a military discount, too. The rooms looked great, and breakfast the next morning was great. I'd go back for the front desk service, though! The staff makes it worth the stay.

Floor is dirty - just move the chair or other furniture to find mounds of dirt and dust. Bed and pillows are very uncomfortable. Smoke alarm battery warning started going off at 5am and front desk was incapable of resolving it, so we just couldn't sleep.

Tub had mold all around the drain plate and the grab bar. Also in the grout and tile grout. I am talking about dripping mold around the grab bar in tub, Gross. I told front desk who had housekeeping come wipe it down again, Hair was in tub also. The mold was still there after they left. I took photo's and posted on maps of how gross it was. They sell pool passes to the locals and the swimming pool was so packed you could not get into it and no seats around pool. Lots of locals teaching their kids to swim it was not relaxing and disappointed as I was looking forward to the jacuzzi. But good thing I couldn't get in jacuzzi, it did not look clean the next morning and had lots of strong urine smell and bubble foam. Room was nice and breakfast was okay other then that. Workers were very nice.

The outside and lobby looked great. The outside and lobby area were nicely decorated and looked new, The room is a completely different story. The rooms were very old and tired looking. Not worth the price charged.

We will not be back. The mattresses were horrible. We had to request multiple times for clean towels and toilet paper. The room was not very clean and there was no option for housekeeping during our five night stay.

Had not stayed at a BW in years, this was a great experience. Clean rooms, welcoming staff, and a big value add was the shuttle. The on-site restaurant has delicious food and extremely helpful service. Will stay here again when in the area.

Stayed at the best Western Gateway Grand: The check-in was fast professional and much easier than most places. The rooms were in excellent condition, the beds got very comfortable, everything was clean, and also had a restaurant in the hotel which the food was excellent. A fantastic stay for two days. Would recommend to stay there, they take care all your needs, and all you do is enjoy it..

Positive first. The employees were excellent. We got early check in. No restaurant on site until 3pm. Food cold for meetings and wait staff very under staffed. My room was filthy. Mold in shower, commode black mold rings, pink nail polish on floor in bathroom. Granted I should have called down and reported before Sunday morning but was in meetings whole time. Staff said a 20% discount but only gave on one night. I do not recommend this hotel. In talking to staff member, the hotel is very old and has major mold issues. Too many good hotel choices in area to use this one

The room was very clean and convenient to the interstate. They serve a great full breakfast. Every staff member that I encountered was super friendly and helpful! I left my Ipad in the room, called the hotel and they kept my Ipad until I came back through Gainesville a week later.

Clean your rooms better. Dirt was mopped into corners of the bathroom floor, back of doors were dirty with finger marks, appliances and walls were not wiped down and were dirty. No tissues provided in the bathroom. Very disappointing amid COVID concerns. No signage or acknowledgement that room was disinfected properly for COVID. I was not confident touching the surfaces of anything in the room. The bedding did seem to be well laundered and fresh, but the bedspread was worn and almost ripped away in places. Shabby. And we noticed on the way out that one of your maids was servicing a room in BARE FEET. Her crocs were sitting in the hallway. To me, that's a serious health issue. We have stayed at this hotel intermittently for many years, I was disappointed to see how run down it has become, especially for the prices you are charging. May not return until there are renovations.

I chose this hotel as an overnight stay on my way to Georgia because of the reviews. I was not disappointed. The hotel was very nice and the staff was friendly and helpful with directions to the local supermarket. The room was clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Because I had a very early check out so I didn't check out the free breakfast. Any future overnight stays will be at this hotel.

Location of hotel was perfect. The staff were very respectful and helpful. Shuttle drivers, Brian and Mike were awesome. Brian especially told us a lot about Gainesville and suggested some cool sites to visit. Hotel room was clean and housekeeping was punctual as well. Highly recommend for visitors in the Gainesville area.

Pleasantly surprised! I had swore off BW from a different experience at a different hotel. Abrue at the front desk was welcoming, and had a bubbly personality. She was informative on the perks of BW too. The rooms are dated, however clean. They have a full complimentary breakfast, and also have a sports bar connected to the hotel for food/drinks. Once you are here there is no need to leave for dinner etc. The hotel is quiet, and the AC is cold. The parking lot is lighted in the evening, and is self park. They have a fitness center and pool area. I would stay here again.

We were unable to stay due to a medical emergency and they do not allow refunds. We tried to cancel and the front desk staff was nice but the manager would not allow it. The room could have gone towards someone else and given that there was an event going on, I'm sure someone would have purchased it. Instead we were charged 300+ dollars for a room we couldn't even use.

We have stayed at this Best Western several times, usually twice a year on our way to southern Florida. The lobby is beautiful. The rooms are nice. The breakfast is very good. There is a restaurant attached that has excellent food. Around Christmas time there is a beautiful tree with a Victorian village around it in the lobby.

We LOVE staying here! Rooms are always clean! Staff is awesome! It is a great place to stay with pets! Great location! Restaurant on the premises. Conveniently located! Outdoor space for dogs! Shopping nearby.

The shuttle service to & from Airport, and to & from business/work destination was great, complimentary and very helpful, timely. The shuttle driver Mike McWilliams was great!! always present before time for all pick-up and drop-off services.

This is a very nice Best Western. Large lobby and breakfast room. Conference space is available at this location. There is an attached restaurant on the property, Gators Den. Customer service during check in was exceptional, Ivy and Audra are assets to this hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

We stopped with our dog for the night and were very comfortable and well cared for. Kudos to Ivy and Audra who helped us check in to our room. Breakfast was very good and the hotel took Covid seriously. I was comfortable with their precautions.

If you are looking for an upscale motel with professional staff and facilities, look no further. The opulence from the drive up to lobby and inside facilities is top notch and very impressive. The staff is professional in dress, appearance and demeaner. Best stay ever anywhere.

When traveling it is so nice to stay in a nice hotel with plenty of room. BW has suites in their hotels now. It was no nice not to have to sit on the bed! The exterior as well as inside was beautiful. The Christmas decor was outstanding and our room so nice we deliberately looked for a BW on our way home. Stay here...you wont be sorry!!

I highly recommend staying at this hotel. I experienced car trouble on interstate 75 and had to pull off. The Best Western Gateway Grand Gainesville exceeded all of my expectations. The front desk was so helpful and friendly. The room was nice with small refrigerator and a Keurig coffee maker. I plan to make this hotel my place to spend the night when I'm on the road to and from Georgia.

We stopped in Gainesville to see family. Great location, Great value, easy location to base from. Room was good! All in all an excellent stop for us. Located right off the interstate, easy to find and close to everything we needed.

My family and I enjoyed our stay, ALOT. Wife, and 2 teen aged sons and dog loved our stay. The location is central, the property is clean, updated and has everything needed. I enjoyed laps in the pool, the fitness room, the Gator Bar/Restaurant and the friendly staff. The beds were comfortable, the internet was strong(The kids loved that) and the location was close to springs and more. We hope to be back soon. Thank You

Clean, but you need to wipe down common areas for your own protection. Air conditioners seem to be the worst neglected during cleaning and the bathrooms were not pristine. The management addressed our concerns and we were happy with the resolution. The food was great from the bar and grill.

I had a reservation deal, went to the hotel, and first the front desk guy says his card reader does not read chip cards. Really. So he asked if he could have my card and enter it manually. I let him have it, but that seemed wrong. Then he told me that the card was rejected, and I would have to pay cash, which would be triple the price. I left. La Quinta accepted my card. no problem.

We enjoy this hotel every time we pass through Gainesville. The staff is always very helpful. We travel with our pet and we enjoy the 1st floor rooms near the lobby. There is easy access to a large field for exercising your pet. There is free parking and internet. There is a pet fee, but worth the additional $$ for this great hotel. The restaurant on site is easy and open. Basic bar food. Pool and hot tub areas are great. Their grounds need some attention(during Covid crisis this is an area that they are cutting corners, obviously). Room was very spacious and clean. We will stay here again.

while traveling to Gainesville on business last week, our team chose this BW location based on all the particulars... location, price, expected value, amenities and past-experiences with the brand. We were not disappointed in the least. In fact, we were quite pleased with how each member of the staff we came in contact with went out of their way to engage us and see if there was something additional they could do to make our stay even more pleasant. In these days of CoVid-19, that is indeed a daunting task for ANYONE in the hospitality industry, and this BW property came through in flying colors! The grounds both inside and out are kept immaculate; the rooms (at least our two) were clean, bright and serviced with fresh linens and towels. The bed was short of luxurious, but quite inviting and most-importantly, quite comfortable, providing a much-needed and refreshing sleep after a long day in the field. The swimming pool and surrounding deck area are equally as inviting, providing much needed space for all guests to remain at a distance while enjoying everything you'd expect from a pool/whirlbool and deck area, including not one, but FOUR gazebos that provide much-needed shade from the Florida sun during the day, not to mention the perfect area to sit and enjoy some comfort foods by-way of the on-site sports bar. Best of all, to order your food, you need go no farther than the dedicated service-phone right on the pool-deck area to place your order and have it delivered right to you! Although I did read the review from a disappointed guest from May of this year, I think they were unfair to this hotelier regarding "Breakfast in a bag" I am sure it was explained to them both in writing prior to booking as well as when first arriving (as was the case with us not only on this stay, but two prior stays at BW locations in other cities) that such protocols were put in place specifically for and on behalf of guest-safety. While I too turn a furled brow at this situation, I know it is with the best intentions on the part of ALL hotels, not just this one to keep their guests as safe as is possible during these trying times. I support such protocols, and moving forward, I do hope arrangements can be made in the not too distant future for BW to return to a "REAL" breakfast as soon as they can figure out how to accomplish such a task while not skimping on safety. This is a small price we guests must bare in these days of CoVid.

We had set up a block of rooms for our daughter's wedding. While some of the rooms we booked were cancelled due to COVID-19 and scaling down the wedding, we still used several for immediate family. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Room needed to be swept and even though I asked for this to be done each day, it was not. Breakfast was in a bag. Room never was cleaned and I had to ask for fresh towels. Elevator broke on the third day. We will not be using this hotel for our larger event in November.

First time staying at this hotel and was very pleasantly surprised with a great hotel, staff and service were all excellent. Great hot breakfast and a beautiful pool area. I highly recommend this hotel!

Location convenient (just off I 75); breakfast and restaurant better than typical; staff friendly, efficient and capable. Ample parking for larger vehicles. Facility clean and well decorated - inviting. I was there just as coronavirus exploded and an event I intended to attend was cancelled. To my surprise - astonishment - I was not charged for the unused days. I thought that was a very generous gesture, especially since the hospitality business is taking such a huge hit, and I appreciate it.

Great hotel, with pool, jacuzzi and breakfast. Very clean and pleasant. Would stay there again. The room has a mini fridge and we were given drinks and snacks upon arrival. Cookies and coffee in the lobby.

We just completed a week long event with 240 people. The hit it out of the park....great job! The staff went over and above expectation when we had some supply issues due to the current Corona Virus issue.

We felt that every aspect of our stay was a great experience.This hotel was a Best Western brand. I asked the front desk why it wasn't a PLUSH..or a Plus..They told me. We thought it deserved the recognition because it was an Amazing Property. Our room was nicely appointed and extremely clean. The beds were very comfortable. The T.V. selection was great. The internet was fast. Breakfast was hot and they had a great selection of items. Thank You!

When we checked in we were given the wrong room, Fran at the front desk had us in a new room in literally 2 minutes. It was a long day of travel and BMX so we really appreciated her smile and efficiency! On our checkout morning we were rushing to get to the BMX track and our truck wouldn't start. I ran into the office and Kristin at the front desk didn't take a second to question, she grabbed her car keys and ran out to give us a jump. I can't say enough how wonderful these ladies are! Not to mention how comfy the beds are!

Service with a smile! The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms are nice, clean and feels like home. I'm in the area often for work, having a gym and restaurant at the hotel eliminates any extra travel. Pool view is not bad either! If I'm in Gainesville I'm at the BW.

Being a Best Western Rewards customer, my first pick is always Best Western hotels. The Gateway Grand was right off I75 and close to many places to eat. The room was very comfortable and clean. I would recommend it, if you are in the Gainesville area.

Quick friendly and fast. 6 hr travel to Florida turned into 30 hr horror story due to bad weather. Routed 120 miles from original destination we found this Best Western and were taken care of by night staff in A plus manner.

The room was great, the staff was super friendly. On the second day they ran out of napkins and some food before bfast was over but it was also because of the high volume. Overall, it was a great experience.

I was lucky enough to have gotten checked in by Fran and Loida this evening. It is so nice to see such welcoming faces. They were quick and efficient with checking me in.I love love love their personalities. This is a much much needed bonus to end a full days work. This motel has one of the nicest BW public areas I've encountered after staying at dozens of BWs...less than a minute off I-75 but no highway noise. Five minutes down the street are literally dozens of restaurants, plus an on-site grill. Very good breakfast, lots of options and things were kept replenished. Rooms are very nice, wi-fi worked well with no glitches...what's not to like. Oh, and the price was good too--try and pick up a coupon book at one of the rest stops along the interstate.

We stay here every year for our rose convention held at this hotel. It has always been a great experience. They are extremely nice to older people, and helpful in every way when you have questions. This time my roommate accidentally left a lot of money on her bed and when we returned to the room the bed had been made up and all the money and items replaced just as they were. Nothing was missing. As a woman I have always felt safe at this hotel, and it is no surprise to feel even safer with trusted staff like Candy, our maid that day. There is lemon water in the lobby, freshly baked cookies in the late afternoon, a small fun restaurant around the side of the hotel, plenty of parking, free breakfast overlooking a pretty pool, and right off I-75. Easy to see and find.

There is complimentary breakfast. Hot and cold options. The breakfast area is very nice and very clean. We have already booked our stay for next month! Highly recommend this Hotel!

The hotel is very pretty, modern and inviting. The price was good. The breakfast was good with plenty of options. The bed was comfortable. The pool area was very nice. There is a great restaurant very near called Wahoo which was great.

We always stay at this hotel on our way to southern Florida and usually on our way home. They have very decent rates. The lobby is very glamorous especially around Christmas with its large tree and unique English village all around it. The king suite rooms have a nice layout and comfortable beds. Breakfast has a lot of choices with several different stations. There is an attached sports bar with cozy ambience and great food. The hotel is very easy to get to from I 75.

We picked the best western because it was pet friendly and lo and behold it was! The hotel was beautiful and the room was clean and spacious. The staff was accommodating and the breakfast was fabulous; a full meal. We were very impressed! We enjoyed the visit.

We won't stay anywhere else in Gainesville Florida but the Best Western Gateway...it's beautiful inside and out and the staff has excellent customer service skills, along with the most important thing.... comfortable beds and crisp, clean white linens. They do not disappoint.

This is the second time we have stayed at this Best Western during the holidays. We will probably continue to stay there when we come to Gainesville. The lobby is beautifully decorated and the overall look is very well done. My only complaint is that while the rooms were nice and had some updates, the bathroom areas featured broken tiles, a leaky faucet, and dim lighting. The staff was wonderful, the rooms were quiet, and we had a good time.

As hotels go on the road or I-75 corridor, this hotel is not bad. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were way too large and hard (read neck ache), there was a full breakfast offered with the room even if the coffee was a bit weak, the rooms had a Keurig. The room was clean but a bit musty, probably just due to age. A nice touch was have 2 luggage racks so you did not have to put your luggage on the floor. I had a King suite but did not use the pull out couch so I have no idea if that was comfortable. The towels were amply large but scratchy.

We stay here every time we visit our son and daughter-in-law. Have stayed twice this year. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. All of the staff was courteous and helpful. We especially appreciate the breakfast staff. We love the scrambled eggs and bacon. The fresh yogurt machine is great. Loys of choices!

Wife went to get ice opened lid to ice bucket and it was never changed out from last guest. Just melted water in bag, makes you wonder what else wasn't changed! But staff changed it out but wasn't fast at all!

Overall stay was great...Staff were super helpful and accommodating. All shuttle drivers were on time and courteous and great conversations with Mike McWilliams! Great food and food service at the grill.

Upscale for a Best Western. Above average breakfast area and lobby. Small bar & grill attached to the hotel has surprisingly good food and drinks at very reasonable prices: Grouper fish sandwich $8.95, house wine happe hour price $5. Nice outdoor swimming pool with hot tub soaking pool. This property has a grand ballroom attached so it may be busy with business or wedding activities.

Grand. This hotel is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Large clean quiet rooms. I wish all my hotel stays were this good. This hotel could be a showplace to represent the highest quality Best Western hotels.

I have no complaints. I can't say enough about the place. Its clean, well maintained, and seems like its in a safe and secure area. The breakfast has everything you need to get your day started. The housekeeping crew is spot on and will keep you well supplied with towels and toiletries whether they come in or if you ask them to "Please, Do Not Disturb", they will leave towels for you anyway. Top notch facility.

I stayed one night on the first floor. Room was nice, smoke free. I had a take out from the restaurant adjacent to the hotel. Food and service was good. The continental breakfast was adequate. The fridge was not that chilled. Another than that the stay was fine.

Hotel typically $95/night, but $430 on Gator game weekends. That is understandable, but the trick is the 30 day cancellation they sneak in, when typically it is a day or two. I cancelled my room in advance, but got nailed with a $430 cancellation fee. Although the room was re-rented, I received no help when I called. If you are booking for game weekends, book somewhere else as most hotels in Gainesville have much shorter cancel periods. Don't fall for this deceptive and dishonest practice.

Comfortable beds, small bathroom -- learn to take turns! good enough wifi, free breakfast plentiful and filling. Did not go to pool, did use the workout room -- good one. Restaurant was not good, recommend going off grounds, across the highway to Wahoo's good seafood Hotel could use some cosmetic touchups, not shabby, but showing some age.

The lobby is nice but the rooms are just OK. We went for a game weekend and paid way too much for what we got. The bathroom is small and there was a dirty wash cloth in the shower. All in all it was a place to sleep but I would not recommend, certainly not at the price we paid.

this is an older hotel, but it is well-kept up - the grounds and pool area are lovely. the front desk personnel are extremely helpful and welcoming. the breakfast is a good addition -- and there is a convenient shuttle back and forth the Ben Hill Griffen Stadium during football season. the two-room option is a great choice for those with one partner who likes to sleep early while the other prefers watching tv later.

Parents weekend at UF for my son's freshman year. Convenient restaurant and bar on property so you don't have to leave. The food was good but the bartender wasn't that friendly considering the bar wasn't that full. She finally warmed up by the time we left.

Everything is how it's stated on the web. No surprises! I love the place. I was there with a couple more guys for the Gator vs Vols football game and we had a ball. The entire staff was AWESOME!! Wait a minute, I guess there was a surprise....The Gators football team stayed there as well! Despite TN shirts and jerseys some of them took pics with us which also made the trip much more enjoyable!!!

Hotel and staff were pleasant. Was surprised that my room cost would quadruple for the friday night stay because the Florida football team was going to stay there that night. Shuttle drivers Mike, Brian and Henry were very courteous and timely.

This is a beautiful hotel with a lot of places to walk around and enjoy the grounds and lobby. The service was good, it was clean and comfortable, and the prices were reasonable. My daughter says it was amazing.

Very clean room, awesome breakfast bar. Room was perfect, I needed to book a handicap accessible room and it was perfect for my needs. Only con was their shower towels were very small. Pool and Jacuzzi were very nice as well.

Stay for surgery/recovery. I was very please with this property. We had no issues and experienced a very lovely staff. I was very impressed with the hotel, it's cleanliness, and the comfort of “home” during our stay.

We spent 3 nights at the BW Gateway Grand as we were in an evacuation zone for Dorian. The hotel is located in a lovely suburban area very convenient to I75 and the town of Gainesville. You can get into town very quickly and you can also drive into the countryside in minutes--perfect location! The staff at the hotel from the maintenance folks, breakfast staff, housekeeping & front desk were ALL very courteous, helpful and professional. They responded to our questions immediately and were helpful with suggestions of what to do in the area. The value was excellent! We live about 2 hours away and will definitely return for another visit--had lots of fun and felt very comfortable at the BW Gateway Grand.

We have been coming to Shands for the last three years. This is the only hotel I will stay at. It's always clean, staff is always friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend ANYONE to stay here. Worth the price.

I booked this hotel for a week in order to attend physical therapy sessions at Clear Passage. The people at the front desk were wonderfully helpful in setting up my stay and then saved my life when bad weather caused me to miss a connecting flight in Charlotte requiring an unplanned overnight stay there. When I called them they assured me that the shuttle would meet me at the airport and take me straight to Clear Passage the next morning, and it did. When I knew my therapy schedule for the week they made sure their free shuttle was there to take me there and back, and they were always right on time. Mike and Brian were terrific shuttle drivers and great conversationalists. The hotel is not super-fancy, but my room was spacious and clean, and the maids took good care of it all week. Breakfast was included, the typical eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, waffles, and fruit that you find most places. The outdoor pool and spa were nice, and the fitness center is brand-new. The hotel is also a convention center, so there were several groups there, which made the stay interesting. And a couple of out-of-town volleyball teams stayed overnight on Friday for a tournament at Santa Fe College. So they place was hopping much of the time, but not overcrowded. There is a sports grill on premises called the Gator's Den. I poked my head in on Friday evening and it looked like a fun place, although I did not eat or drink there. The one thing I didn't care for was the surrounding area. The hotel is surrounded by big highways. It is right off Interstate 75 and 39th Avenue, with nothing really interesting in the area unless you like Harley-Davidson Motorcycles or Dairy Queen ice cream. So going for walks (which is what I had to do as part of therapy) wasn't that great. I did walk down 39th to a shopping center with a Publix (about 1 mile from the hotel) to get some food. But there are no buses to take you downtown, which is why the free shuttle is so important.

As soon as you arrive it is a majestic view of the front of the property. The amenities here are fabulous. We unfortunately did not get a chance to try the sports bar but we've heard many good things about it. The outside pool area is fabulous as well. The only thing that the facility needs is updated hotel rooms. Many are very old looking with a musty smoky smell.

The customer service was excellent from the front-desk staff, particularly Forest, who goes above and beyond. The maintenance man was kind and the staff working at breakfast went out of their way to get me some cream cheese one morning. The shuttle service is incredibly prompt and courteous and FREE!! The driver, Mike McWilliams, was truly a kind man who gave me hope/perspective on my health.

The room is no better than a Motel 8 down some old country road. I would continue to write but I would tear up the place more. In all fairness, Forrest at the front desk should be working at the Ritz Carlton. RUN FORREST RUN!

On our annual trip from Chicago to Sarasota, Florida, for our month-long summer vacation, my wife and I always make it a point to stay at the Best Western Gateway Grand in Gainesville, Florida, on our second night away from home. Located at 4200 NW 97th Boulevard, an Aaron Judge homer from I-75, it is a favorite haven for Gator fans attending University of Florida football games in the Swamp. We enjoy the convenient location, spacious room with sofa and sitting area, HDTV flat screen, king-size bed, refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and iron with ironing board. Tabitha welcomed us at the front desk. She is organized, prepared, personable and helpful. And our room was conveniently located around the corner of the front lobby on the first floor. Upon leaving the next morning, we enjoyed the free and ample breakfast with fresh danish and donuts, hot eggs and bacon, toast, jam, cereal and fresh coffee and juices. For a weary traveler, it doesn't get any better than this.

We've stayed here the last two years on our way to SWFLa. The customer service at the front desk is top notch! Typically your pet friendly hotel leave less than desirable impressions but this place is beautiful! The pool area is super nice as well. They offer a great breakfast in the mornings.

The room, hotel, amenities and staff were al great. Really Great value. Loved that there was a variety of breakfast options. The room was spacious and of great comfort. We traveled as a family group and the hotel staff was very accommodating when trying to place our rooms as close as possible to one another. I would stay here again on my next trip to the area.

We loved our stay here. There were a few things I had small concerns about mostly because I am just a little picky. We had Walter come to our room several times to help! He was so kind, helpful and just made our stay accommodating with his genuine care for our stay here. The front desk Clerk Hannah also was very helpful and informative. We then had someone come upstairs to assist with our cable because the rain sort of knocked the cable system out. Charles was quick to assist. The hotel itself has an awesome restaurant with a great younger bartender, working the night shift on July 5th, and a server Ben. Beautiful pool, Fitness center and overall amazing customer service. Again, Ask for Walter. What a great employee. Definitely stay with family here or for business!

With so many hotels claiming to be pet friendly (accepting a service animal is not being pet friendly, that's just abiding by federal law) this place wasn't only truly pet friendly but the level of cleanliness in our 'pet designated room' was great. No pet smells and my dog wasn't even sniffing at things, catching the scent of other pets. Nice pool area, extremely friendly/accommodating staff, clean hotel, solid breakfast, nice little sports bar in the hotel, and close to everything (on ramp to highway and UF / Santa Fe) made this a great value while we traveled with our dog (a 65 pound American Bulldog).

The hotel,lobby,pool area and grounds were very clean & nice. The staff allowed us to have our lunches in the breakfast area every day. We had a baseball team there plus parents & other family member's. We loved the fact that they had a field on the side of the hotel that we could go play and run around with the kids and have fun! The staff was beyond friendly to all of us and we appreciate all of there help!

Good service from the moment we walked in. Our room was clean and well appointed. Good shower, comfy bed and nice breakfast. Zero complaints. I can't believe the price we were able to get for the room. Maybe because it was Sunday? Either way, I definitely recommend this hotel.

My family came in town for my daughter's high school graduation. The Best Western Gateway Grand is an easy commute to the Hail Plantation area where we live. This hotel is in a quite and peaceful setting just off of Interstate 75.

Our family stayed at the Best Western Gateway Grand from Wednesday until Saturday. The room was clean, the pool was warm, the hot tub was hot. Everything was exactly what it should be. The staff were simply AMAZING from Hannah at the desk letting us check in early to Sarah and Kayla in the Gator Den taking great care of my meal and both made me a FABULOUS strawberry Margarita! Ben brought us a wonderful late night snack and just had the best disposition. The breakfasts each morning were the best hotel breakfasts I've had perhaps ever and this includes the expensive ones I've paid for. Megan and Melinda kept the food plentiful right up to the free breakfast ended. They didn't mind refilling food even 10 minutes before closing which is nice because it's not great when you get there later and everything is gone or picked over. The house keeping staff were great too. Kenia kept us in clean towels and checked in on us daily to make sure we had everything we needed. The place is exactly what you need when you need to get away. The pool area is beautiful and provides a relaxing environment. Overall, I will continue to stay here each time we visit and will highly recommend it.

We stayed for 9 nights on the third floor. It was quiet in our room, the only thing I would comment on, would be the location of the air conditioning unit which was on the wall right beside the bed so it made it too noisy to leave on at night. The staff were all very friendly and accomodating during our entire stay, especially Forrest, Hannah and Tabitha. There was a good breakfast included in our nightly tariff. We also made use of the free Hotel Shuttle a few times, Brian and Mike were very friendly and obliging. I would definitely stay at this Hotel again.

I arrived at the room and was surprised how hot it was. I turned on the air conditioning and didn't think about it again until I tried to go to sleep. Then it became clear. The old wall unit air conditioner is controlled by a wall thermostat, but this was not for any sort of guest convenience. The thermostat contains a motion sensor, and if no movement is detected, the air conditioner will turn off completely in 10-15 minutes no matter what temperature is set on the control. The kicker was that the motion detector did not face the main area of the room but the wall outside the bathroom. Thus, the air stayed off the entire night except for a few minutes after I would get up and walk in front of the sensor. With no ac in Florida in the summer, the room temperature got quite hot. For any readers that find themselves in this unfortunate predicament, a YouTube search will show you how to bypass the sensor for 24 hours (it was too late for me when I figured this out). Otherwise, the staff was friendly and the room was dated but acceptable. Still, I paid for and expected a room with air conditioning, and I can't recommend a hotel that would play these kind of games.

We choose this location for a wedding and three day adventures to local springs/state parks; The staff was very friendly and met every need. Great value for the King Suite; Breakfast had hot/cold options and healthy choices as well; nice pool area and the restaurant had reasonable prices and great food.

We have stayed here a few times, when we have been traveling through Gainesville. The staff has always been friendly. The restaurant on site is very good and the full breakfast is very good. Now, we make reservations here when we are traveling.

Great place to stay! From the moment you drive up and see the architectural splendor, you feel your stress melt away. Then on check-in and throughout or 3 day stay, the people were terrific! A shout out to the front desk staff, Forrest, who was always pleasant and helpful! The rooms were clean, the fitness room was new, and the breakfast was good! We will stay here again the next time we are in Gainesville!

My family and I have stayed at this hotel numerous times because we know it's a great hotel. My grandparents would stay here during their trips to visit our family (perfect to swing by to Newberry or jump on 75 or 39th to Gainesville). If my grandparents always returned to this hotel, then you know it's good! We stayed here most recently for my cousins graduation. The pool is awesome, lots of lounging chairs and always clean. We were able to check in early and offered a choice of floors. Front desk is always friendly and breakfast is yummy. Whenever we are back in Gainesville, we will be back as always!

Arrived a little early and was able to check in very easily. Was given a choice of a room on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor. I thought that was really nice. The room was very nice, clean and easily accessible. The front desk staff were really friendly.

This is just right— clean, close to highway but very quiet, quick and friendly service, and a good complimentary breakfast. The price is right. Plenty of free parking. I was looking for a place to stay and was fairly priced, and this is. I would return.

One of the best features about this hotel is its shuttle service. I was visiting Gainesville for medical purposes and the shuttle drivers Brian and Mike dropped me off and picked me up for my twice daily appointments, brought me to the Publix when I needed groceries and even brought me to a few tourist destinations during my downtime. I really appreciated not having to rent a car as I was already spending a lot of money at the clinic. We had some nice conversations and they had lots of great suggestions about what to see in the area.

I am here now at this lovely Best Western where we stopped for the night on the way to Destin and we're so impressed with how very nice this hotel is, and it is pet friendly, which is a plus for us, since we're traveling with our beloved pooch. The people at the front desk are very nice and helpful , the pool area is divine, they have a really nice restaurant on the grounds, and a wonderful area on the side for you to walk your dog. The whole hotel looks very clean , our room is perfect, and it is so nicely landscaped outside. It is in a very nice area and very close to I75. They even have delicious cookies in the lobby area. I'd give this hotel more than 5 stars if I could.

The Best Western Gateway Grand is a very nice facility that we can recommend. The staff are all competent and very nice. The rooms are clean and there is a nice lobby area. Breakfasts included with the rooms is much nicer than the typical offered by competitors. Rooms are a nice size with an entrance and two part bath with tub/shower and toilet in one room and the sinks in another. The door between is awkward and inconvenient. I would love to see the carpet replaced with the same flooring as in the entrance hall. There is a nice sports bar restaurant called Gators Den on the property. There is no light for the access road to the hotel. During busy times you may need to do a right turn and u turn down the road if you are going into Gainesville.

I love this hotel. The building looks like an old Western casino. Very classy outside. And it is classy inside. When you enter the main entrance, there is a large hallway with a 3-story valted ceiling. Staff sometimes provide free cookies to guests. Every morning, breakfast is available and complimentary. Options include: oatmeal, cereal, waffles, pastries or bread, boiled egg or scrambled egg, sausage or bacon, orange juice, milk, or water. There is an exercise room with 2 treadmills, 2 elliptical machines, and multiple weight training exercises. And the pool is large for a hotel. One thing that other hotels don't have - piano (that guests can play). And the piano sounds great with the vaulted ceiling. Plus, "Gator's Grill" is a fun little restaurant on the side of the hotel. Moreover, parking is easy and accessible all around the hotel building. Furthermore, the staff there are friendly, open to chat with guests, and can give you good tips about "What's good?" in Gainesville.

We were welcomed warmly (treats for dogs) and ample room for setting up 2 soft dog crates. Dog fee of $20 is so reasonable. Great outdoor area for walk a play and dog litter station (including bags!) was provided. I will be back next time I have a visit to Gainesville.

From walking in the door to walking out the door the atmosphere is wonderful. I have had a lot of chemo so my smeller works over time. Lol So we always ask to look at a room to make sure it doesn't have a smell that I can't handle. With much understanding they showed us a room. We had already booked through hotels.com but it gave us a room for the disabled. So when checking in she upgraded us. Jessica was a joy to talk to, very friendly with a smile! Ate at the Gator Den and it was great. Our lil waitress (Vanessa) was awesome! Will be staying here any time we travel this way. Thank you so much for the hospitality, clean rooms that smelt amazing and A GREAT breakfast.

The reservations staff for this property went out of it's way to assist us with a special request. Can't thank the front dest staff enough! It was easy to check in and very quick on checking out. Everything we needed was easily accessible. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We stay at this hotel at least twice a month. Being Bestwestern Diamond Elite this is our favorite. The staff is amazing and the restaurant is really good. It's just off of 75 and close everything. It's also affordable.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The bed was comfortable, quiet, clean, very helpful staff, even free popcorn. The room was a good size. And had a good floor plan. Sports bar next door that was good. We will stay again.

Many nice things to say about this Best Western. Reasonably priced, lovely lobby and nice breakfast included in price. Our bed was comfortable and the room was clean and spacious-except for the bathroom area which was, well typical for a Best Western, tiny bathtub/toilet area where you could barely shut the door! Lol! Towels could be a little bigger and a little softer but again, it's a Best Western, not the Ritz! For the price and overall friendliness and cleanliness-I feel it's a bargain. Also, you must check out the sports bar and restaurant. I was very impressed with the quality of the food and service!

It reminded me of the elegant Biltmore, It was just beautiful. The staff were awesome. They were kind and helpful. It was right next to the 75 exit, and had a gas station right on the corner as well. The room was spotless!

I was very surprised that this was a Best Western. I typically shy away from the franchise because they lack many amenities. This one however was outstanding. Huge suite, extremely nice pool area, full service restaurant and bar and very pleasing to the eyes. Definitely will start considering Best Western when I travel.

I had the misfortune of being ill when staying at this hotel and would have said that there was little chance of enjoying myself during my stay. Really, I was just trying to get a decent night of sleep and head for home the next day. I couldn't have been more wrong. We were blessed with a fast and pleasant check-in, a wonderful clean room, and an exceptional stay overall. The only knock on this property is that the location is a little outside of the Gainesville area. However, the interstate access is excellent and the hotel is situated in such a way that you cannot hear the interstate at all. The pool and hot tub are welcoming and well maintained. The staff is friendly and efficient. The bed was superb as well. The free breakfast has a lot of options and is a nice bonus. (The onsite sports bar could use a little work in both service and sports, but the food is good, the availability to have it delivered to your room is great, and it is really its own business anyway, so it is not technically part of this review.) Need I say more? If I am staying in the Gainesville area in the future and not using rewards points for some other brand, I will be staying at the Gateway Grand.

This Best Western is well maintained and a good value. Our room was very clean and well maintained and we will return again we hope next year! The Breakfast was better than many motels. Large breakfast area so your don't feel cramped. Waffles, Oatmeal,Eggs Bacon, Fruit, hard to go hungry regardless of your likes! This motel was a good choice for us!

Excellent service from check-in to departure. Friendly and helpful staff members. Well-maintained common areas and rooms. Clean, quiet and comfortable beds. Restaurant was available but required a walk around around the attached conference center to its entrance. Walk was worth it as food was excellent and reasonably priced. Breakfast off main lobby had good variety of items and was clean and well-stocked. Hot meal items were hot. I We will stay here again. Good value and a good price. Hotel is 6 miles by interstate from Gainseville which was good for us as we wanted to be in a less congested area and near the interstate.

We found the staff friendly and helpful, the hotel clean and conveniently located. Our bed and room were comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and felt the price was good given how nice the hotel was.

This hotel was exactly what we expected. They have a larger than average hotel breakfast buffet with plenty of options. Beds are firm, pillows were fluffy. Nice grass field with goal areas for playing soccer right on the property. Check in and out was easy. We will stay again.

I arrived at 1130pm and the young lady at the front desk was very nice and accomodating. This hotel has Beautiful grounds and a cool bar, although at 12am (1145pm)its closed. I booked a standard room for 4 guests, 2 adults and 2 children at an inflated price $250, due to some races going on this weekend. Due to a "coding" error, I got an accessible room with only one bed and no sofa and they were otherwise sold out. It smelled a little musty, but was clean. Bathroom is very simple. They "comped" me a rollaway bed which I had to set up and it barely fit in the room. Breakfast was 7/10 with lots of options. Check in and out was fairly quick. There are better choices in this area, but if I had to and at a lower rate, I MAY stay here again.

Check in was VERY pleasant with Heather!!! TOP NOTCH front desk worker in our opinion!!! Same with check-out...Leah was just as friendly!! They BOTH gave you their attention and did not seem like they HAD to "work"...it was all about the customer! Room was also nice and clean, and the tub was CERAMIC with CERAMIC tiles, which made for less noise, I believe. Enjoyed breakfast, which had a nice selection. Exterior of hotel and landscaping was amazing!!! Not a problem finding the place, although getting out into the highway without lights at certain times of the day could prove tricky. AMAZING HOTEL and wouldn't consider anywhere else if I'm ever down in the area again!!! THANK YOU, BEST WESTERN GATEWAY GRAND!!!

We enjoyed our one night stay. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and we slept well. Breakfast was excellent especially the oatmeal. There were several items to put on top of the oatmeal like fresh blueberries. The lady ensured the breakfast area was clean and stocked. The coffee was hot and excellent as well. We got this room at an great price. Best Western had a special room rate on the days we traveled. None of the other hotels came close to their special rate. I would definitely stay here again.

We were in town 1 night. The location was very nice. We enjoyed our stay. Check-in was easy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was decent. Being dairy-free, I was particularly excited that they offered almond milk. We took advantage of the hot tub. Although, we were bummed the pool was Not heated, contrary to what previous reviews stated. The bed was ok, but not the best. Overall, we were pleased, and would stay again if we are in town. Extra perk - there's a great seafood restaurant (Wahoo) across the street.

This is a great location for everything! We booked for a baseball tournament and everything was flawless from booking to checking out! Adam Johnson is great to work with when booking for groups. The restaurant is fantastic to hang out and relax.

Great location & architecturally pleasing appearance. Food was okay in restaurant but nothing to rave about. Biggest disappointment was the room's closet and luggage stand were covered in a deep covering of dust. Bit disappointing !

The place was very clean and the staff was fantastic. We were there for a catered affair in the ballroom. Stayed Fri to Sun. Every single person was helpful, friendly, and took great care of their guests. Rooms were like mini-suites. The complimentary breakfast was also excellent. Waffles, eggs, bacon, muffins, cereal, fresh fruit salad, etc. But what stood out most was the staff. From the front desk to the woman who set up breakfast all weekend, they were terrific. We would absolutely stay there again.

The people at the Best Western Gateway Grand were wonderful. Forrest, at the front desk, was particularly helpful and professional. All of the workers enthusiastically welcomed us and our yellow lab. The pool and hot tub were beautiful. Breakfast was great, especially the fresh fruit, yogurt, waffles and muffins. The restaurant on site, Gater's Den, provided excellent service and delicious dinners. The location was convenient for our purposes: a visit to the lovely botanical gardens in Gainesville and a great 6 mile canoe trip on the Santa Fe river. Finally, our room was very clean and comfortable. What a great Best Western Plus!

hotel great parking lot not so much.Very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The parking lot was in need of some work. A lot of cracks and uneven places It was worse when it rains you didn't see the high and low spots. I was very surprised at this being the rest of the hotel was so well kept

What started out as just a stop on a long journey home ended up being a truly wonderful experience here at the Gateway Grand. I had just been told by my Dociors in Pensacola that I am cancer-free, and when the staff here heard that they completely went above and beyond for me! From the front desk check-in Forrest & Leah made myself and my partner feel nothing less than royalty. Gary & Vanessa, in the restaurant, did the very same! I have never had such a great experience at a hotel as I have here! Our room is beautiful, spotless and super comfortable! Thank you all for making my special day more than I could have hoped for! You are truly THE BEST!! We will come back and stay here any chance we get!

We travel back and forth between Atlanta and Tampa. We decided to try this place on a whim and were so impressed we're making it a ritual to stay here. Nice place, clean rooms, pleasant staff, good location for interstate travelers and a great bar & food in house. Also close to another favorite called Wahoo Seafood Grill (another winner).

We had a great experience with this hotel from the moment we walked in and checked in, to departure. The staff were excellent and welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable, beds perfect. The pool and jacuzzi were an added plus and the whole patio area was very relaxing. Would definitely stay here again.

Our conference was held at this hotel. The hotel is a bit dated, but the difference is that this facility seems to constantly updated their rooms and facilities. They were excellent. Clean, well appointed rooms with good beds, pillows, HVAC...... Meeting room was excellent too. Excellent staff too that really seemed attuned to their customers. The last impression of a hotel is the shutttle driver and Mike McWilliams was personable and professional! He was courteous and a nice way to end the trip on the way to the airport. Well done, Mike.

We were in Gainesville, Florida for a funeral of a family member mid January 2019. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Each morning that we were there, we had a delicious full breakfast. The two girls that worked in the kitchen, asked how we were each day and also asked if we would like anything else from the food selections before they removed anything from the counters! They kept everything so neat and clean and they made our stay that much better! I just can't say enough about these two women! Thanks so much to Melinda and Tiara!

I've stayed at this Best Western several times and keep coming back here. Rooms are clean and free breakfast is top notch, but what makes it best is the customer service. Bob provides the best check in experience and is always helpful and friendly. Whether it's setting up calls or needing adjustments to a reservation, he works with a smile and is always cheery.

The hotel is very pretty and has everything right there with a restaurant and continental breakfast in the morning. The rooms are pretty good. The staff are wonderful and very polite. The location is really good to a lot of great things in the area.

Great restaurant, nice staff, wonderful breakfast. Our second trip to this location. Clean and well maintained property. Close to restaurants and the archery facility at newberry. Coffee and lemon water always available in the lobby, nice touch.

The accommodations were great! Comfortable beds and pillows. Super internet service and quiet rooms. The complimentary breakfast had many selections to choose from.They also had a restaurant with room service that was basically attached to the building.

Cons: The rooms feel dated because their bedding and curtains. The sheets and covers feel like sandpaper. There are so many great reviews on this place but I am not sure how. I've stayed at much cheaper hotels in this area that have been more comfortable. The bathroom shower area is tiny. Pros: The location is right off the interstate which is easy access. I did not hear any instate noise from inside of my room. The employees are very friendly. Parking was not a problem. The place is clean.

Had never stayed at a Best Western and we loved it. This location is perfect and right off the highway. Rooms were great with an awesome sports bar! We even signed up to gain points for future stays. I would highly recommend this location.

This was a nice surprise. Huge hotel with great pool and hot tub area. Restaurant is attached but small. Staff at hotel was very nice and helpful. Parking and WiFi were free. Pets are allowed for a $20 fee. Lots of grassy areas near hotel to exercise pet.

I booked this room at the last minute due to not being able to make it to a Best Western in Georgia. It was a beautiful Best Western. There was a noise in my original room and when I talked to the man at the front desk, he kindly put me in another room. Breakfast was great.

My wife saw a sign indicated where to go to vote. Who knew you could vote in a hotel! Check in was very good the manager on duty did an awesome job. Our room was well appointed except for the issue I've had with Best Western for years. Why don't you have more pillow options? You have 4 of the same kind of pillow on the bed. Anyways I'll get off my soapbox, otherwise our stay was good with the included breakfast. A decent place to stop as long as you are OK with the one pillow choice (I lied still on my soapbox!! ;) ).

Nice B/W clean comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Beautiful pool and hot tub. I would recommend this location to fellow travelers. My only negative comment would be an issue with the smoke detector and there was no maintenance staff available to fix it, so we had to be moved to another room. Close to a mall just across the bridge 2 minutes away. Public's and fast food outlets and fuel close to hotel.

Have stayed here many years on the way to Florida. Hotel is showing its age. Extra pillows was nice. Room was fine but not as clean as I would have liked. Typical breakfast. 24 hour coffee is a plus. Cookies when we returned from dinner.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. Very well kept and the staff is always there if you need anything. They have a shuttle to and from the airport which we used and that was handy. Our flight did not get there till after midnight and they were there to pick us up. Thanks to Mike McWilliams for taking us back to the airport on Christmas Morning. The free breakfast was good. Will return when visiting Gainesville.

Hotel is right off 75 but not at a traffic light at road ends right after hotel Outside looks pretty good and lobby was nicely decorated for Christmas but.... there is only one elevator for the entire hotel so it being rather full for graduation weekend not exactly ideal The room was at best basic. Literally one available and accessible electric outlet in the entire room. Thankfully we always travel with an extension cord and power cord so we could charge our phones and iPad The room light switch only lit up hall rest of room had individual lights. Very basic room and bathroom- totally ordinary Hair dryer old fashioned attached to bathroom wall. Window AC unit loud when on and difficult to adjust vents away from bed Breakfast included and was the usual fare not great but not bad either Room rate I think you could do better at other options in Gainesville.

I have been here several times for meetings and once for a wedding reception, but a recent trip was the first time I've actually stayed here. The location is great - close to restaurants, the interstate, Publix, and the hotel closest to my Jonesville (Newberry) destination. The staff was friendly and efficient. My room was clean and comfortable. The place is beginning to show it's age a bit, but everything was clean and well-maintained. I was surprised at the low price. I expected it to be higher. I also enjoyed the Christmas decorations.

Ok... so I am traveling from Colorado to southern Florida. And I had to find a place to stay in Gainesville. I'm kind of a hotel snob. I like at least four stars attached to my hotel. And unfortunately, Gainesville only has three stars and below. But I gave a call to the best western and I was greeted by Bob. Bob understands the art of excellent customer service. He said on the phone with me for a good 20 minutes to make sure that I would be happy if I stayed here. When I arrived last night, he greeted me with such joy as he remembered our conversation. While he was here he bent over backwards to make sure I get the room and make me happiest and he also had a gift for both my dog and me. The room was a typical best Western room. You hear the cars on the highway, the towels the sheets the bed or what you would find at a best Western. But I have to tell you… I would've stayed at an Airbnb or stopped at another city if it wasn't for Bob. Kindness and personal attention such a rarity, and I just have to shout out to the best Western for hiring such a wonderful man. And I gotta say the morning desk crew were so nice... the kitchen people also were way more wonderful then the food, and even the carpet cleaning guy last night was playful and kind. Great staff there.

Very nice staff, Outdated, not very clean. Breakfast very greasy and unhealthy. It needs work. Compare to other bestwesterns need to make a lot of updating. The Christmas tree was pretty, ghe lobby was nicely decorated

Right off the interstate, clean hotel, pleasant staff, After being in the car for 9 hours, the hot tub felt wonderful. Full breakfast -- lots of protein and fresh fruit. I plan on staying at this Best Western next December when I travel south for the winter.

My stay at the BWGG was wonderful! The front desk was courteous, followed-up promptly, and answered all my questions. The shuttle bus drivers- Mike, Brian and Henry were great too, almost like informal tour guides sharing ideas of things to do and very supportive/helpful. I would absolutely recommend anyone to stay here.

the place was very outdated for one. No vanity at bathroom sink to put makeup or anything on. The the ac wouldn't keep on cool kept getting hot after first cool cycle. Then top it off killed three roaches in bathroom and one crawled on me in bed. The buffet breakfast was worst every had. The no one there could address my complaints. Next day heard nothing so called on Monday was told they would oly credit me the 20 .00mpet fee and 20 more off my bill. never stay there again.Also springs on bed poked thru.

It's an elegant looking Lobby- sort of old world renaissance-ish. Rooms are comfortable, full breakfast, They have a conference center attached as well. On the far side is the Gator Den, can't say I would recommend it though. Try to find something else unless it just doesn't matter.

This was my third year in a row staying at this hotel for a conference. The furniture seemed much more updated this year, which was nice. I was happy to see that the fabric-covered chair was replaced with a vinyl-type of material that felt cleaner to me. The bed was more comfortable and the flat screen TV was great. The check-in process was quick and efficient, the staff person was friendly. I liked the long hallways, which allowed me to get some walking exercise while I was there for the conference. So my hotel room experience was a bit nicer this year than the past two years. However, my only complaint was with the conference facilities. The conference area maintenance staff was not guest-friendly. He did not want to let a line of 15 women into the ladies room during the 10 minutes we were allowed for our morning break. I got to the door 30 seconds before he did, but he didn't want to let me go in. He seemed to want us to wait outside while he went in to clean/restock. While I argued with him that we only had a short break, more and more women got in line behind me, but he was still unfriendly and argumentative. I went in anyway, followed by a long line of women. I reported it to the front desk later in the day and learned (to my absolute disbelief) that this is the only public rest room in the entire conference center -- and the maintenance guy thought mid-morning (10:15) was a good time to make it unavailable with two conferences going on? Most of the attendees were local and those of us who stayed the night before had already checked out, so only this one public restroom was available. I am not downgrading my review because of this. But next year I will use the one facility during my break even if staff is in there cleaning - what is the alternative? Maybe just maybe they will resolve this issue before next year.

Stayed one night on family visit trip. Staff was exceptionally efficient and friendly. Room quiet and comfortable. WiFi easy to access and reasonably fast (not always the case at other hotels). Breakfast offerings should meet anyone's expectations-hot or cold. Parking is convenient. I seldom use the free toiletries at hotels but found these of exceptionally high quality and pleasant to use.

The best western gateway grand looks like a four star hotel from the outside, but once inside you realize that is not the case.The property is old and shows its age. I was in a king premier room and it was small and very dated. The bed was comfortable but the room needs to be updated.

Best Western is a great place to stay they have a great team great experience and Excellence service to their customers I always enjoy myself when I am there I recommend you stay to see for yourself that it is a great place to be when traveling or just want to go out and relax away from home

Was very surprised and pleased with the overall stay at this wonderful hotel. Gator den is our yearly tradition at this wonderful restaurant dedicated to being a gator fan. The sweet like room was comfortable.

I manage another hotel for a living. A large part of my job is inspecting rooms for cleanliness. Even with how picky I am, I could find nothing wrong with the room I checked in to at gateway grand. Things that are usually forgotten (the microwave plate, inside the coffee maker) were immaculate. I was very impressed with the amenities, and with the service of Kelly/kaley?, forrest, and bob at the desk. Thank you for the early check in and the excellent breakfast, especially after a busy Saturday night. I would hire any of the staff members immediately.

I travel from N. Georgia to Fl. Everglades several times a year,this is the only hotel I will stay at. The hotel is easy access on & off I- 75. But the way it's located you have no traffic noise. The most important thing is the beds,they sleep great. Rooms are clean. They have anything you would want for breakfast,bacon is perfect. O ya before I forget,I also travel with a pet.They charge a small pet fee. So let sum it up ! Easy access, good night sleep,my pet can travel with me. Bacon is crisp,coffee is hot! The whole staff is very accommodating. If you are traveling thru I recommend Best Western Gateway Grand for a comfortable stay. Sherrie

We were very satisfied with the property and the staff. Everything was clean. Every staff member we spoke to at any level were friendly and professional. The room was large and comfortable. We loved the sitting area separate from sleeping area. We also had take-out from the on site restaurant. The food was very good and reasonably priced.

I tried to make a resv online. Website never confirmed resv, so I tried again. Then I got email confirmations for two reservations. I cancelled both resv several days ahead of scheduled arrival. I was still billed, twice, as no-show. I called, spoke with hotel personnel. Even though I sent them email thread as proof that I had cancelled both reservations, they refused to refund both charges. Told me I needed to call back next week! These jokers have wasted enough of my time. I am handling it through credit card company.

Had a very pleasant weekend stay at this hotel. Clean, seemed fairly new, friendly staff, good hot breakfast, and lots of green area if you're traveling with your furry kids. Very accommodating all-in-all, and would stay again.
