We definitely enjoyed our stay at the BW in FT Lauderdale FL on Powerline RD. Staff was very professional and friendly. Room was good deal for the cost. We definitely would recommend this to family and friends!!!! BTW, pet friendly !!!!

The house was absolutely perfect. The breakfast was delicious and a very good variety. Kathy was in charge of the breakfast and did an excellent job in keeping it stocked. Sherell at the front desk was an absolute pleasure with checking us in and making us feel welcome. Jasper was at the front desk in the evening and was an absolute pleasure. Michell (housekeeping) kept our room spotless and Dan (general Manager) took the time during the week to care about our stay and was terrific. Could not ask for a better hotel.

I am a long term user of Best Western hotels, and although the room, breakfast and pool facilities here are perfectly acceptable and our stay overall was good value, I was left very frustrated and bewildered at having my payment card of choice refused. I am from the U.K, and have a Revolut prepaid Mastercard that I have used all over the world, including the USA, to pay for countless hotel rooms, and it has always been accepted without question. Until now, that is. The guy behind the counter simply refused to accept it, and forced me to use a different credit card that ultimately costs me significantly more to use abroad. He claimed that it is a corporate policy not to accept prepaid credit cards - well perhaps all of the other Best Westerns I've previously stayed at (including 5 on this trip alone) should be hauled over the coals and retrained immediately? None of them have raised an issue. I suspect he was just an ill-informed jobsworth type. Be aware of this when considering a stay at this specific hotel. Very unsatisfactory and restrictive. I'd stay elsewhere next time.

I am glad to hear that the hotel itself was great, I am disappointed that the pre-paid card situation was a issue that stained the actual stay of your time here at the hotel. We unfortunately do not take pre-paid cards due to the high volume of fraud that has come about when allowing pre-paid cards as a form of payment. Through much thought for both the hotel and guests alike, we must refuse that form of payment, in order to ensure no further fraud is allowed in the business. I do apologize that this policy was an issue for you, But I hope you could reconsider staying with us again next time your within the Fort Lauderdale area. The Lady at the front desk was really nice and fun to talk with! She's not the normal lady i see when i go there but it was still a good visit. Bedroom was very clean and Breakfast was great, and starts at a great time, 6AM.

I am a Best Western elite member so I always stay at a Best Western property. I chose this hotel because it was very central and I could get wherever I want in about 20 minutes. The property is immaculately clean and the hotel is decorated nicely. The pool area is lovely and the water nice and warm. The pool area was also very clean. The room was quite large and very clean. Everything was in working order and looked like it had been redone fairly recently. The bed was really comfortable! We had a pool view room and enjoyed looking out at night watching the storms roll in. The staff this place is fantastic! We really enjoyed talking to Jasper at the front desk. He gave us some fantastic recommendations for some late-night food in the area. I'll be posting reviews of that later. I highly recommend the property! I especially like the fact that they had special parking for elite members!! I will be staying with them again!!

I ended up booking this BW hotel after reading bad reviews about a previously booked BW hotel. I'm glad that I switch to this one. To make a long story short, the staff members were nice and friendly, the rooms were excellent and affordable, and my stay was enjoyable. Our room had two queen beds, two separate vanity areas and bathrooms, and a separate sitting area complete with a tv and desk. The only down side is the noise from the train, but the hotel provided earplugs. Other than that, this stay was worth it.

AMAZING!! Stay loved the staff only issue is the train but that's beyond their control. I love how they treated us BREAKFAST was the best!!!! We will be back!! Place was close to the beach 10 Min drive. Stores were close by they frit desk was super nice Manager even helped me with a wordrope issue!

"quiet but then tried to take a shower there were insects in the sink, and the smell"

there were insects in the room, also the smell of the room was just awful tried to tell the night clerk (afro hair) she offered to change rooms but not the same type of room but by the time she had figured out a room, my son had fell asleep decided to stay with the stench and everything. next morning tried to speak with the so called manager peter, had to ask him several times for his full name, he then reluctantly gave it. I tried explaining to him. he said there was no indication of my conversation with the afro clerk, i told him that was weird because she had even given me keys for another room.. so that should be there he said that all well and good but there was nothing there. so he was not going do anything. very upsetting that my issues were not important enough the night before and then certainly even not important enough even more so now by the so call manager peter gonzalez. several things that should be addressed clerk not inputting my issues at all somewhere room and elevator that is really dirty needs cleaning /deep cleaning air freshner in the room clerk just giving me a key to another room without checking my ID manager not addressing the issues when a guest is letting him know the problems they faced

I want to apologize again to you, that I could not address your concerns at 8:00 in the morning due to me being the only staff member available at the front desk/office. I hoped you could have understood that some of these issues had to be validated before, I could not just hand out any compensation to you. The issues of the room & elevator and giving keys out, could not be validated. I do apologize about this... I will like to say that I was able to validate the other issues such as the room rate quote, and about writing down notes. I have counsel the front desk clerk about the importance of leaving notes for both the up coming staff and management. The room rate quote was correct for the amount spoken but, per night. Not in total. So I am sorry, that it was not understood correctly, When told to you. As I've mentioned before in person, these things did have to be validated before I was able to give any compensation to you. If you so choose to ask for compensation still. I have approved a certain percentage off for you. Please do not hesitate to give a call here at the hotel.

Best Western is the Best the only Holtel I want to stay in or put my guest in when they travel from out of town to minister. I have always stayed in a best western hotel and always look for one when I travel.

Stayed a couple of nights. Had all amenities like iron, microwave, etc. Very good breakfast. A little noisy at times being so close to interstate, but I slept well. Customer service was excellent. Everyone was very helpful and respectful. I had no complaints.

When we checked in Jaspered made us feel very welcomed. That really said it all. The facility was clean quiet and breakfast was great would highly recommend this hotel. Went to a room nearby was disappointed and made a last-minute change to Best Western.

The breakfast was very good. The facility was very clean and keep up. I would return to that same Best Western when I visit Fort Lauderdale again. The pool side was great my husband and I really enjoyed the stay. Hats off to house keeping for the clean rooms the bed was very comfortable I would love to have that bed at my house.

Attentive staff, quiet room. Internet access could've been better (it was kinda slow and you had to input the password over and over), but it was at least available. The breakfast was excellent and it was next to I-95-a big plus for me.

Stayed one night before a cruise. Room was a little warm when we entered but cooled down fast. Room was clean and bed was very comfy! Breakfast was enough to fill! Employees were kind and courteous. Thank you!

Nice hotel right off the freeway. lots of restaurants and other services near by. I travel a lot. Therefore, for those individuals that travel for a living this is not a bad stay. location was great. services were not bad either. Room and bathroom were very clean. Room did not smell of mold at all.

when we checked in the staff at the counter was very amazing, hotel was very clean! beds and pillows were super comfy! only thing that was not acceptable was at 10:30 house keeping was banging out the door telling us we had to leave check out is eleven, had to tell her we aren't ready 6 times. as we were walking out she was very rude. other then that hotel was amazing

The breakfasts are always good and greatly appreciated to start the day, especially if getting on the road again. However, our room coffee maker items only had one cup, and the tissue box had just three tissues before it was empty.

I cannot say enough about the staff. This was not a pleasure trip. A close family member was very ill. The staff made us feel like we were coming back to a second home after a long sad day- for an entire week.

Location great, staff very helpful, nice shuttle service to port. Room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was very good. Shopping area near by, we were able to walk there for something to do before catching shuttle to port. Only a couple places nearby to eat, that was the only drawback, but not a big deal.

Before booking this hotel, I checked all the reviews on it. There were mixed reviews; some good, some bad. Considering the price and location of the other hotels, this one was in the middle of pricing and rating. My mom and I prayed about it before booking and the whole family headed down. I was glad to find the hotel was clean. The room was clean and no roaches were found. The downside is the handle on the toilet was broken and looked to fall off soon and the breakfast wasn't the greatest but the breakfast attendant was friendly and pleasant. Overall, it was a great experience and served our families needs as a place to crash. Did not have time to make it to the pool or check any other parts of the hotel. P.S. The walls are thin so keep that in mind when others are trying to sleep.

We selected this hotel because it is pet friendly and the cost of the room was very affordable. This trip was booked for 5 days. We were immediately struck by the courtesy and helpfulness of the front desk staff. Very engaging and accommodating almost to a fault. Every time that we passed the front desk we were greeted with big smiles and ,

Very convenient and great quality! The staff is very friendly and helpful and we had a great experience...even with one small maintenance item that was handled very quickly. The morning breakfast is provided and the food is fresh, hot and lots of items to choose from. We have stayed here before because it is very convenient to where our son and his family live for us to visit and we will stay here again!!

"Nightmare Experience"

Save yourself some trouble and stay elsewhere. Me and my family spent 2 nights here before our cruise, and it was miserable. First off, and most importantly, its LOUD. As many other reviewers state, there is a train that runs DIRECTLY behind the hotel, and every time it passes (frequently), it toots its very loud whistle. I'm a very heavy sleeper, so I didn't think it would be a problem for me. But I was wrong. this train consistently woke me up multiple times both nights. I felt like I was in the movie My Cousin Vinny. You will not get a restful night sleep if you stay here. We tried to switch to a room in the front of the hotel, but we were told those were "suites" and not available. Next up, the pool. Seemingly, its an ok pool. We spent a lovely afternoon there after going to Ft. Lauderdale Beach (which is not nearby and about a 15 - 20 minute mostly highway drive). That night we decided to eat our dinner (delivery pizza since there are ZERO restaurants around that aren't Waffle House or McDonalds), and we look over at the pool and its FILLED with geese. Feathers everywhere in the pool. Needless to say, we never went back in. Also, the workers of this hotel sit outside in the pool area after they're done with their shift, which would be fine if they weren't smoking and drinking, and if there were more tables. That afternoon we were swimming one of them had their entire family with them too, which, again, would have been fine if it were a bigger pool area, but it was not. The area itself is a dive, and felt unsafe. Good luck to anyone who left their car there during their cruise, we opted to park at the cruise terminal because it was safer. The hotel itself is very rundown and poorly cleaned. Dingy is a perfect word for it. After reading reviews on here, I checked the bed for bedbugs, and luckily ours had none. We were on the second floor. I didn't see any bugs, so that was a plus. Our room did make an awful noise, which sounded like a loud generator in the walls. We called the front desk to check it out, nobody ever came. When I called the front desk again, they said they had checked the hallway but didn't hear anything.... ok, but the sound was inside of our room, so I think they were lying. That sound would randomly come and go throughout our stay. Overall, this BW is a really rundown hotel, and it wasn't cheap either. My mother booked the room without reading reviews, but now she knows she has to do her research before booking. Save yourself the hassle, and book something nicer, even if its more expensive, because you will NOT get a good night sleep at this hotel with the train. I still have nightmares of getting woken up by that damn train whistle. There are no positives to staying here. Its far away from the beach, it's in a seemingly bad area, there are no restaurants to go to unless you're a fan of Waffle House for all your meals, the staff is unfriendly/not there unless you ring the bell and wait for them to get to the front desk, and you'll be sharing a pool with the local wildlife. Never again, Best Western. Never again.

I would like to apologize for any real issues that may have occurred during your stay here at the property. I wish this could have been brought up during your stay, so that way the staff would have had the chance to provide excellent service, by seeing to your issues. The train unfortunately is not a part of the hotel. As you may have well known, by you doing your research on all of the reviews, as you mentioned throughout your review. I truly wish the county would make our area a NO TRAIN HORN zone but, through countless efforts of bringing up this issue to the county, they still deny the request. In the city of Ft. Lauderdale our closest beach is "Commerical Beach" or better known as "Lauderdale-By-The-Sea", its located just 10 minutes or less away from the hotel. I do apologize if there was heavy traffic along the way there. Also there is no major highways you have to take to get there. It is located directly on Commercial Blvd, which intersects with us on Powerline Road. The hotel has recently opened a restaurant called "9th Ave Bistro". They have been open since Feb.6th serving flatbread pizzas, sandwiches, wraps, and more! I apologize if the staff failed to mention to you about it. Although we did have many signs posted around. They also offered room service as well! Hopefully, if given another chance to provide service, you may give them a try. I find this very disturbing to know that workers were taking up space, from the guest, in the pool area, I was never informed of such a thing? I truly apologize for this and will look into this. The ducks have been removed from the pool area as of today. Local animal control relocated them safely to a near by pond. Lastly on the final issues stated the parking is secured from 10pm-5am. We have never had a issue with guest vehicle being broken into or vandalized. We are very thankful to have such a great track record on this. As many of our cruise guests come back year after year leaving their vehicles behind for weeks at a time. I do recall the noise issue. I personally check for a sound myself for about 15 minutes. I nor did the staff ever hear a "noise" in the wall. I hope with all this explanations and apologies you may have a change of heart to give us another shot at being your hotel of choice. We are going through renovations at the moment to better the hotel in every way possible. Hopefully the next time you stay in the Ft. Lauderdale area you will be able to see all the improvements.

"Handy to the 95 near Fort Lauderdale"

Good basic hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable though the pillows need an upgrade. The staff is excellent. Breakfast is decent with a few hot choices such as waffles and sausage patties. Strange omelet looks like it comes out of a box. Scrambled eggs or fresh cooked fried eggs might be nicer. The biggest problem is the overpowering fragrance or cleaning product used throughout the hotel and in the rooms. My husband and I are not that sensitive but we were both coughing as soon as we got into the room. If the fragrance is nixed and the pillows improved I'd give this a 4 star rating. The area off the 95 is a little rough but there is quite a selection of Peruvian and Mexican restaurants within a short drive. The hotel does have a limited dinner menu Wed-Sun.

We stayed for a night after a concert. Our room was spacious and very nice. The breakfast was excellent, eggs, sausage and bagels. We took our breakfast to our room and went back for more coffee. The staff was very friendly.

this hotel is not a smoke free hotel, that was misleading, after my second attempt to get into the pool area, i couldn't because of all the smokers in the pool area, i was told by the front desk that the pool area is not a part of the hotel and they have to accommodate the smokers as well, i booked this hotel because of the amenities that being no smoking. i decided to sit in the lobby since i'm confined to my room where there is no smoking per hotel staff. There is no checkpoint, people are just walking in looking for a restroom, this is the worst, this is my first full day and i have one more day to go and then it's good riddance to this joke of a hotel. i will never ever book another Best western,

But, as I mentioned to you during our brief conversation, the hotel is smoke free, as in the building itself. As far as the pool area went, it is the only area that our smoking guest are allowed to smoke. I apologize for accommodating them but, here at the hotel we try to please every guest as much as possible. As for the other factors I was not informed or made aware about. Stayed here for one night since arriving in the airport before going on a Cruise, overall i would recommend the hotel for this. The area is a little basic but has a few eating places around although it's quite a dull area. The bed was comfy and room was big. Only negative was the trains going passed bobbing their horns at silly hours.

The entire stay was absolutely horrible! We arrived after our flight to a long line to check in, which took 30 mins to finally get the key. The room was okay till we discovered one of the showers and sink was broken. And one of the toilets had an other persons waste in it and it was not functional.The other room we had bugs. We asked for a late checkout right when we arrived. But housecleaning rushed in and told us that we had 5 minutes to leave. When we asked for the manager, there was no manager on site and were given a card. No discount was given, just sorry. The general manager will be receiving an email but DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

The folks here were very accommodating in honoring a reduced rate that was inappropriately created by another Best Western where I stayed in Miami the prior week. I try to stay a the Best Western Hotels because I know the quality and hospitality that awaits me.

It is within 15 miles of the airport, making it a great stay for a great price! The staff were very friendly, the rooms were up-to-date and spacious, along with a free full-service breakfast (eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, etc.). The pool is on the smaller side and depending on when you go can be a bit chilly. Overall it is a great hotel for a great price!

Sherelle and Deidre were customer service at its finest! The room was nice and the beds were comfortable. Great location for easy access to I-95. It is near the train tracks but this would not detour me from staying here again.

Staff was great, Jasper, Deidre and Mary were very fun and friendly. They gave me many recommendations of places to go and things to do. I found the location to be very central to every where I wanted to go. The hotel had just opened their bistro. I had a cuban sandwich and it was pretty good. I hope the hotel considers offering wine in the future. The room was a nice size. Breakfast area was busy , but I just took my food back up to my room. I will stay at this hotel again when I am in Fort Lauderdale.

We stayed here for one night prior to leaving for a cruise. Also, we left our car here for 11 days while we were on the cruise. The hotel was excellent, the staff very helpful ( a special shout-out for Seaira) . When we returned after our cruise everything went very well, got our car and left on our way.

Came here with my wife and son while on vacation - and overall this was not a good experience. The room was VERY cramped and dated - the bathroom might as well have been from a roadside motel, most of the plumbing had issues. Also the bathroom was dirty and had to ASK to have it cleaned in order from them to get hair from the floor. Service was okay but I really feel that requests should not have to be repeated it order to get help - when asking for sheets we should not have to call twice to get them. Breakfast in the morning was below par as well - substitute eggs and sausage that was awful, and even oatmeal that was simply awful. Search for another hotel in this area - not worth the price in my opinion.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was very nice. The room and the hotel was clean. Breakfast was good. General manager came and chat a little with us in the morning. It was like a family hotel and everything was in place for a great stay.

Due to a booking mistake by BW, we were booked in this motel--on the north side of Ft Lauderdale--vs their property in Dania (also on I-95) for the night prior to our cruise departure from Port Everglades. Turned out to be a good mistake, as the rates were about $20 lower than the Dania property, and the place was nice--up to BW's usual standards. Clean room, good breakfast, lots of nearby restaurants (but you'll need a car to reach most of 'em)--and also pizza is made on the premises if you don't have wheels. Since our cruise departed on a Sunday morning, I-95 was not heavily traveled at all, and the drive across Ft Lauderdale to the port only took about 15 minutes. We'll remember this site the next time we book a Port Everglades cruise.

Unfortunate, my experience at this location was terrible. I would not want to spend a night at this location again. I've stayed at Best Western's in the past, yet this stay proved to be very taxing on me and my family located in Florida. Not only did I have to acquire a shower upon arriving at their home, this disrupted my plans for that day which took my time scheduled to spend with my sister. If you can be of any help to me I'd appreciate it.

This hotel was good for our needs. The bed was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Kudos to Jasper at the front desk who pointed us to a restaurant that would deliver to the hotel even during the Super Bowl game. The breakfast was the usual cereal, muffins, yogurt and self-made waffles, but they also had hot eggs and breakfast meat, real eggs not reconstituted. The room was nice and we didn't have any issue with the water pressure. Would definitely stay again.

Absolutely the worst hotel and customer service I've ever experienced! We arrived in town at 3am with our dog. We did not have a reservation and found this hotel to be the ONLY one in the area with rooms available.(now I see why) In the process of checking in, a cargo train went by, blowing its horn and shaking the floors. We asked if this happens often and were told no. In the hour and a half we were there, it went by approximately 7 times.. Every time making the dog bark. We had to leave after only an hour and a half. (not what we wanted after 30 hours of driving) We asked the girl at the desk, Deidre, why she had lied about the frequency of the train? Her response was that "she doesn't hear it." (the room comes with earplugs!) We never would have checked in if she had been honest. We ended up sleeping in our car that night! We never even got an apology from the hotel and are now disputing the charge on our credit card because they refused to remove the charge!

Absolutely no water pressure in shower or bath. Wi-fi connection was none existent. Other people's hairs on my duvet cover. Overwhelming terrible smelling air freshener as you walk into the lobby and halls. Would not stay again. Checked out 2 days early.

My husband and I drove to Fort Lauderdale for a cruise. Stayed one night at this Best Western. I found everything clean, room and lobby. Room had small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. Everything we needed. Exhaust fan in the bathroom. Staff was friendly and helpful. Best of all they had just started a small bistro in the lobby breakfast area. I think we were the first customers. Lots of good menu options. We had sandwiches, the Cuban and the California Club. Both were excellent and very reasonable. It was perfect. We were tired and loved not having to leave the hotel. We will stay here next time we cruise. Free parking. Took Uber to the port.

I was in town for a family emergency and they made my stay unbelievable. The young lady at the front desk (Seaira) was amazing and extremely helpful, breakfast was amazing and the room was out of this world, they upgraded me to a suite that was one of the nicest rooms I've ever been in. Would highly recommend this property.

I found this hotel clean & well managed. It's decor is tasteful hh our room and bed were very comfortable. Reasonable pricing for an in town hotel. Can recommend this hotel. We just stayed overnight. Breakfast room is small, but the staff went out of their way to find us a table. Very considerate. Sweet dreams.

This place has bed bugs my family and I stayed there and we were bitten on our arms and legs by them.we we're moved to another room we're there roaches.not the small ones but coch roches.the front desk clerks we're nice. But if I had to do this again I wouldn't choose this hotel because the pictures are very nice but beware there are bed bugs and roaches lurking in those rooms.the manager never apologise nor did the district manager Peter. So with that being said run do not book here.the room was musty and they have bed bugs.12-26 Thur 12-28 was the worst part of my vacation for my family and I.

I was satisfied with my 4 night stay here. Found it to be Nice and quiet. Free parking , decent exercise room, staff very friendly and helpful. I thought the breakfast was excellent, sometimes the breakfast room got pretty crowded, but no big problem. Everything was clean from my experience. Negatives for me were the fact that there were no morning newspapers, had to go out for one. There were some minor problems with the wi-fi,but was helped by the staff. For the money , I thought this hotel was a good value!

I stayed at this Best Western for four nights at the end of November... and have no complaints at all. I did read other reviews with complaints such as noise from the nearby train tracks. My room was on the first floor, facing the front parking lot, and I never heard a train, once. (I do wear earplugs at night, so that may have helped, but it was totally quiet). The room is fine... great bed/pillows, good TV, nice coffee-maker and... most important... refrigerator and microwave in the room. The staff was uniformly pleasant, and general manager Dan even stopped by everyone's table at breakfast to see how we all were doing. Speaking of breakfast: lots of very nice hot and cold choices (pancakes, eggs, bacon or sausages, bagels, all kinds of bread, muffins, yogurt, juices, coffee, etc.!) The hotel's just off I-95, which makes traveling north or south very easy. Didn't use the pool, gym, or laundry room, but they all looked fine. I did see one bug in my room during my stay... and for Florida, one bug during a five-day period is pretty good!!!! All in all, great value and a well-run property.

"TRAIN RAIL next to hotel - Freight tarins running all night"

From my email survey from Best Western - "At check in, your clerk demanded to make a copy of my drivers license before giving me a room key. As a victim of Identity Theft, I asked to see the manager. I told him this fact. He relented in the demand to make a copy. If this is your corporate policy, what safeguards are there that my info will not end up in a trash can? I've stayed all over the USA and have never had a hotel demand a copy of my drivers license! Upon getting in my room, I saw it overlooked the "Tri-Rail" railroad tracks (about 150 feet from the room). A train passed by approx every 5 minutes. I called the front desk and asked for a room on the other side of the hotel. I was informed there were none available. I then asked the lady at the front desk how long the trains were active. She told me they ran until 10PM and restarted at 5AM. HOWEVER, she skipped the fact that FREIGHT TRAINS run by your hotel all night! I was awaken at least 4 times when large freight trains ran by VERY NOISILY!! I called your front desk and cancelled my 2nd day reservation. I booked this reservation through YOUR RES system - I can't believe that the close proximity of the RAIL was not disclosed. I WILL NEVER STAY AT YOUR PROPERTY AGAIN! By the way, a local FBO at the airport "recommended" your hotel to me. I made sure they were aware of the problems with your property!

"Comfortable in every way"

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, even during busy times. Room totally comfortable, including bed and in-room amenities. Of special note was the VERY quiet air-conditioning unit. Many motels have A/C units that cycle on and off with noise. I was able to sleep all night with out hearing the A/C fan motor. Breakfast was well prepared, and all items were kept stocked promptly as they were consumed by other guests. Absolutely no complaints.

This is a really beautiful hotel. We had a beautiful, King room and there were five fluffy pillows on the bed. The staff that we dealt with was very friendly. Their breakfast bar had a nice variety of food to choose from. Either a hot or a cold breakfast.

"Help when flight cancelled"

Our flight was cancelled after several delays. We were able to get rooms last minute. The weather was nasty and they had a shuttle to and from the airport. They forgot to tell us that it would say Holiday Inn Express. Eventually we got to the hotel and were treated very nicely. It is a green hotel where even the room remote is covered. There is a lack of lighting in the bedrooms. Very early breakfast the next morning was available as was the shuttle back to catch our rescheduled flight. Several restaurants were available within walking distance. There is no Reston the premises. Emergency personnel supplies were also available so we wouldn't have to shop for what we needed.

Our stay at this hotel was quite enjoyable. The pool area looks nice and the grounds are well kept. The surrounding area does not seem completely safe but we felt safe on the property. They offer free parking to guests and did not have any issue with us parking our car there for a one week cruise. An Uber ride to the port costs about $15-20. I would stay at this location again but might consider finding something closer to the port.

"WORST EXPERIENCE"

Deceptive, looks good on the computer only, rudest Front Office Manager, lizard on the bed, bad smell in the hallway, non working elevator for 2 days, had to use stairs. They made the deal to give 3 additional rooms for Saturday and Sunday on the price $109 per night as we had 8 rooms booked online. We managed all the hardships during our first 4 days but they did not keep their words when we were ready to check in on Saturday for our additional guests who were on Saturday. On questioning the rate, the Front Office Manager told us that we have the option to cancel the booking and go to a different hotel which was almost impossible as we have a game to compete in Broward County Regional Park and Stadium. Worst worst worst experience. I had never faced such a disconnected and rude Front Office Manager.

This was not the worst hotel I've stayed in but it's a close second. When we arrived the elevator was down for routine maintenance...it was never repaired. Staff were not at all accommodating. Had to go down to get our own clean towels. Bring trash and laundry to housekeeping.

When we checked in, there was a big confusion, we booked 4 nights (on bestwestern.com), the frontdesk stated only have one night. Showing the booking confirmation (4 nights), frontdesk mentioned I have to call Best Western booking hotline for clarification. I claimed she have to clarify, since she is frontdesk, it must be her task to clarify. It ended up in, that I had to call the hotline! It turned out that frontdesk looked up the wrong booking. The size of the room is ok, shower/toilet is small. The housekeeping is a big mess, cleaning not very well and the last night they did not make up the room. Towels where removed from room, but not replaced! Had to call the frontdesk two times to get towels. Breakfast is really bad quality, we tried first day and then skipped it for the rest of the stay. The ground floor had a smell of marihuana. I can not recommend this hotel, I know it is a low budget hotel, but I would have expected that the service will have a standard and they know how to clean and make up rooms.

In my opinion the name of this hotel should be changed to Worst Western. There are one elevator in the hotel and it is congested and dirty all time. The rooms smell bad. This hotel must be avoided if you would want a good trip.

I went to FL for a family member's baby shower. I was originally going to stay at her apt but there were already 5 other people staying there so we just decided to get a hotel. I've been to best westerns before so I thought I knew what I was getting, just a simple hotel that was clean and had free breakfast. Not this hotel. Customer service is horrible, no one says hello or good morning to you and they all walk around like you're a burden. The front desk employees don't have a uniform (i saw someone in a PINK zip up hoodie from Victoria's Secret) and when their not busy talking to each other their ignoring you or give you attitude. The hotel has a weird smell everywhere it's like smoke mixed with mold & I woke up coughing every morning & my throat would hurt for at least 3 hours after I left the room. There isn't even mini bottles of water in the fridge that could've helped my throat. Aside from the odor, chipped paint everywhere, and the fact that you can hear people talk outside of your room (especially housekeeping who would discuss people they don't like) I have bed bug bites. And first I thought they were mosquito bites because they were on my ankles and legs but I have them all over my back, the back of my thighs, arms, neck & stomach.

Staff was so friendly. Located directly off of I-95 in north Ft. Lauderdale made for easy access. My room was clean, bedding was comfortable and the breakfast was dynamite! The pool had a nice tropical setting. Will definitely be back!

Pricing was good pretty clean front desk lady was nice. Breakfast was ok room was clean and maintained good. The only downside was the train tracks right behind the hotel. If you are a light sleeper I would recommend ear plugs. Bed was ok.

This review is long overdue, sorry. I don't see why this hotel doesn't have higher ratings. Well I stayed here twice, they gave me the same room both times. Being the indecisive person that I am it's always hard picking a hotel ..especially when you read these reviews and look thru these pics lol, I was superrrrr happy with this best western. CLEAN! The lobby, the room, the pool area and dining area all clean. The staff is super nice and helpful. It's quiet even though it is close to train tracks. Amazing location, I ubered and walked pretty much everywhere. I even took a bus about 10/15 mins to a Walgreens. You have a Waffle House right outside the hotel, a beauty supply store across the street that sells a variety of things from hair to toothbrushes, a few gas stations, a Miami subs, McDonald's all in walking distance. They even let me check out late, with a fee of course but not expensive. I'm a very picky eater but breakfast was okay nothing to complain about. This hotel is very nice. Sorry I didn't take pics, wish I did.

The nicest thing I will say is that the staff were very professional and nice. Our room on the other hand but wait before I even get to that I must preface this by saying the WHOLE BUILDING needs to be re- carpeted immediately. You can smell the moldy carpeting as soon as you enter. It's undeniable. It's worn out completely- smoky, moldy just old. The worst night I'd ever had in a hotel-couldn't sleep & when I finally did drift off- I immediately found myself in the throws of a nightmare to which my husband woke me from but that was @ around 430am I couldn't wait for morning to check out. Sorry this ones not for my valued TA family. Happy travels.

This hotel although priced right, is close to train tracks. Expect noise from passing trains. I stayed for three nights and my room was not cleaned. When I returned, I had to go to the lobby to get fresh towels. Apparently my room was 'missed'. When I asked if it would be cleaned, I was told housekeeping already left for the day.

Do not stay here, dishonest people working at this hotel, I left my phone charger in the room and called them to ask if housekeeping had turned it in but they said no. Hotel not in a good area, also close to a railroad track, good luck trying to get a peaceful night of sleep

This is a great place to stay in Ft. Lauderdale. Just far enough from the beach to enjoy other things but close enough to get there when you want too. THis was a very clean and pleasant place to stay. The staff was great. Very helpful!! I love the beds they were perfect for sleeping !!!

We checked in the hotel yesterday and the first noticeable thing is that there is only one way in & out of the hotel. When we checked into the room we discovered there was no ironing board so I had to go to the front desk to get one even though the front desk guy seemed reluctant to give me one. Secondly the room is very small and so is the bathroom. Also there is no night clock but the microwave does have a time display. Overall the room is clean and the breakfast was pretty good so I would recommend the establishment for future travelers.

This a decent hotel. Rooms are decorated nicely, on the small size but plenty of room for one person. Convenient coffee maker, plenty of outlets, comfy bed, fast internet. Just what I need for work. Close to the interstate and other things. I'd stay here again!

My husband and I were booked into this hotel (in error) by his WorkAdvantage group both for the night before and the night after our cruise. This might have been less of an issue had we had a better experience. I will start out by saying the front desk attendant, Melissa, was very personable and did what she could to help. We booked these nights back in March. We called ahead the day we were checking in to let them know we were coming in a late flight and would be checking in late. They said no problem. We got there and they did not find our check in sheet and were told that it was probably because we booked so early. We would have thought that booking early guaranteed our King bedroom. We were told that unfortunately all that was left was a handicapped room (queen bed) and that they were completely booked. We agreed to that (although surprised by it) and wanted to confirm that the next night we were staying was what we had asked for. We were surprised that their credit card check in was so antiquated that Melissa had to call in the charge. We went to bed around 11:30 just as a train whistle blew and we could hear and feel the train go by. Hoping that it was an intermittent situation, we went to bed until I was woken up by a whistle blast and train passing at 3 am. I couldn't sleep after that and not long after, the next door guests were laughing then arguing and screaming at each other and laughing again. Then they banged on the wall a couple of times. My husband went to the front desk to complain and as I was waiting for him to return a large cockroach scurried across the wall and under my suitcase. Around 5 am the train went through again and then probaby every hour or 1/2 hour after that. We rebooked at another hotel for the second night we had planned to stay because there was no way we were going to spend our last day on vacation, which happened to be our anniversary in this place. I would NOT recommend this place at all. I went back and read some of the reviews and though the Manager seems to respond with the same, "I'm sorry you experienced this (uncommon) situation (train, bugs, loud guests even!), it's clear that these are pretty common complaints!

Clean hotel, a bit of painting going on but not an issue. Nice staff . Would prefer a bit more quality of breakfast items and a little more variety but still good as is. Bed had a bit of a crinkly feel under the sheets which took away from the otherwise very plush feel it had.

The hotel staff were very polite. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The Wi-Fi was slow and the water pressure was low. The shower was not properly cleaned. There are quite a few homeless people in this area. I would stay at this hotel again for business, but not with my family. The breakfast was okay, but lacked meat (bacon).

I never would've thought that this type of hotel would've had such high quality amenities as well as such a great staff. Everything from check in to check out was great. The fact that there are pet friendly was even better. The manager on duty was EXTREMELY helpful. This was one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. I can't remember her name but she was more helpful than she needed to and went above the call of duty. She was great.

"An Oasis In The Desert"

I must admit...I had a great weekend for the price. The Best Western I-95 hotel is very clean in all areas. I stayed on the 3rd floor and the hallway smelt awsome, entering room I felt welcome. The bed was very comfortable with clean white linen and 6 pillows. The room had a mini fridge, microwave and a good size tv. The hotel also have a pool and serves breakfast from 6 am to 10 am, on the menu are a variety of nutritious food.The bathroom was also clean and up to date which is a plus for me. The hotel is not that far from the beach and major restaurants. Check in and out was very easy and all the staff were friendly and approacable. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Fortlauderdale.

Just spent most of a day and night here and I'm amazed at how cool this place is. They have everything....pool, laundry, etc...and Top Shelf stuff in the rooms, like a Keurig coffee maker and large screen TV. The staff is also great.. Friendly, and going beyond to help you out. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. I've stayed in way higher end hotels that aren't as nice as this! WiFi is super fast also. Rooms are immaculate, clean and pleasing. .....z

We stayed here last weekend of Spring Break and the receptionist made sure we had a quiet room The hotel is situated in a poor location with a train track that runs behind the hotel and highways nearby, and only fastfood restaurants in the neighbourhood . Bathrooms are very slippery. Their bath tub was very slippery and i slipped amd damaged my eyes. My sister ran downstairs to get a first aid kit and explain that there was an emergency on our room. No one from Best Western had the courtesy to see how badly i was damaged due to using THEIR facility. No courtesy from general manager...mr. Christopher Ott who was extremely rude and showed no remorse whatsoever. This review is to let others know that when u stay at Best Western you stay at your own risk. I will never stay at this hotel again!!!

My husband and I stayed here on our way to Key West to break up the drive. Upon our arrival the credit card computer was not working so the front desk clerk had to make copies of my credit card and ID or I had to pay cash. (The copying of cc and ID always cause me to worry about fraud) I did receive an email receipt later the next day after we had checked out. The breakfast had many hot and cold options and was kept well stocked. The hotel staff were courteous. It's Florida so I expect bugs, but we saw several cockroaches so it might be time to get a new pest control service.

Great value. I found this Best Western by searching the area extensively, reading reviews and comparing prices. I would agree with many of the other reviews. The price is probably the best bang for your buck in this area. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good. I wish the fruit was not frozen and bacon was offered more often. We ate breakfast here 5 days in a row and only saw bacon on the first day. I would also definitely agree with the train comments. Fortunately, we were in a room facing the front of the building. The trains did run all night and sounded their horns as well. We could hear them loud and clear and can only imagine what it sounded like in a room facing the tracks. Overall, worth the stay. Close to the highway and minutes to downtown. Also, definitely check your GPS. This Best Western is on Powerline Road yet the GPS takes you to a sketchy road on the other side of the tracks. Best Western should look in to having the pin on Google Maps moved.

The first floor looked a little dated, eating area was great, every where else smelt like cigarettes or weed. People were setting off alarms a lot and no one dealt with it on the second floor. The train did not bother me, it was more of the people that only cared about themselves aswell, bad vibes from the front desk onward, except when the girl was working. AC units looked like they were from the 90s.

Pit stop for journey from Leesburg to Key West. The hotel (we've stayed with BW before) was OK as was the free breakfast. Room was clean and acceptable but nobody told us about the trains!! Our room was right next to the Railroad track and ALL the trains hooted/whistled/horn'd every 18 to 25 minutes ALL NIGHT!!! Guess you don't need an alarm clock! Never again here.

We had just returned from a 14 day Trans-canal cruise, and wanted to spend an overnight in Ft. Lauderdale before continuing on our vacation. This hotel was an excellent choice, and met all our expectations.

I rated this a poor because the location is around an industrial area within close proximity to train tracks There was NO places around the hotel to get dinner and drinks had to drive 15-20 minutes to get to one after driving 12 hours that day Next time will drive a little farther or get off before this We were on our way to Miami to board a cruise on Saturday and always drive in the day before had decided to get closer to Miami this time Might go back to staying in Daytona Beach Best Western that is walking distance to an Alehouse

I apologize the staff did not discuss with you the many dinner and drink spots near our hotel. They are some of the highest rated in the Fort Lauderdale area. Less than three miles from the hotel is Lauderdale by the Sea which has numerous selections and has the added bonus of being able to walk the beach after dinner. Funky Buddah tap room, Thai Spice and several other highly rated restaurants that serve food and alcohol are around 1.5 miles from our door. Many of those deliver non fast food to our hotel so that guests do NOT have to leave the comfort of their room to enjoy the evening. We hope you return to the area to enjoy some the places we described. CO

The hotel is new or recent renovated, Very helpful staff (Kyle was excellent). Easy to find, parking, nice pool not big but ok. The room was perfect, bed comfortable, refrigerator, microwave, coffemaker. They offer breakfast and is very good !Nothing walking distance , If you are the people that like to stay in the Hotel all day this one is not for you, no bar or restaurant. For Business people great. For me it was perfect and I got an excellent rate.

My son left his hiking boots in the room.We were told by the front desk 30 minutes after we checked out that the boots would be held until we returned 7 days later.They were not there when we returned

I really liked this hotel and enjoyed my stay. If it is not a new hotel, then it must have been excellently renovated, remodeled and outfitted. It was a great value and compared to all my other hotel stays in Florida, I believe this one had the most for the price. It is a small hotel (40 ish rooms) so the staff can never be overwhelmed and they had everything comfortably in hand. There is no remarkable view (no monument, vista, beach, landmark, etc) but the grounds and landscaping are nice. I saw the pool but didn't use it. There are no noises, loiterers or vagrants. You will need a car. It is a few blocks from the interstate. There was a security guard every evening until morning. There is a train track at the back so you do hear the train go by but it was not a bother to me. The offered breakfast and it had hot items including eggs, make your own waffles, fruit, juices, pastries, etc...better than most hotels that have included breakfast. I will surely go back, if they keep their price low.

"Good Pet Friendly location Reasonable pet fee"

Good for my needs with my dog. Friendly toward me but not toward a black woman with kids during the breakfast and also when they were checking out.. I found the repeated public complaints directed at this young mother and the threats voiced by the staff member to be inappropriate. I doubt if the staff would have done the same to me, a white 50s man. The complaint stemmed from how much food was being eaten at the buffet. I found it very disturbing that the staff would do this.

I think the isolated incident you are referring to is a guest that stayed at our hotel that had invited several of her extended family, who were not staying at the hotel for breakfast. The staff was nice they where able to get us a room early because we got there early from getting off a cruise ship. We appreciated that very much. The pool was nice we played in it all day. The one bad thing was when we first went to the pool there where homeless people using the pool which was interesting. Also there is not much around the hotel.

Location convenient to I-95 and FT. Laud. airport, but that's about it. However, for any clean freaks out there, you Germophobes, this hotel sparkles, from the parking lot to the lobby to the elevators to the rooms. Period. A testament to proper management, as well as staff dedication.

The hotel is nice, but it definitely has the potential to be much better. The hotel staff was friendly. They allowed us to check in early and check out late. The hotel was very clean. The breakfast area is spotless! The kitchen lady, Dora is super friendly. She was constantly bringing out fresh food and made sure everyone's breakfast experience there was great. That is probably the only positive thing about this place. First of all, avoid this place if you are a light sleeper. There are train tracks right behind the hotel and the train does pass by very often. It was noisy, but it was no big deal to our family. Our room was on the 3rd floor and the hall smelled horrible. The ice machine had broke and leaked water onto the carpet. However, the hotel maintenance had a dryer on the floor to ensure the carpet was dry. What they needed was a dehumidifier because of the humid smell. The smell went away after about two days. The day we arrived, the house keeping lady walked right into our room without knocking! She didn't even apologize and continued to walk right in after she saw us settling in. Right when we got over the situation, it happened two days later with a different house keeping lady! Also, there was a Caucasian man with dread locks roaming the halls knocking on doors after hours. I complained about him once to the front desk and they informed me he was staying there. A few days later he was doing it again and this time he knocked on my door! He knocked on my door for approximately 5 minutes at 2AM. I called the front desk and he immediately came upstairs. He informed me he was the General Manager's ill son and that he lived on the hotel's 4th floor. Here comes the WORST part…. The hotel has ROACHES!!!!! They must have a bad infestation because I did read several reviews about roaches and clearly nothing has been done to get it resolved. I saw 2 small ones in our room a big one in my friend's room and another big one on the elevator. When I checked out, I informed the front desk and he noted it down, but it is unlikely they will do anything about it. The hotel needs to be bombed/fumigated to get rid of the bugs. Overall, my visit could have been A LOT better. I have had nothing but nice experiences at BW's but I will not be returning to this specific location.

"Best room ever for only 80 bucks"

I can't believe how cheap this hotel was! This was easily the nicest room I've ever booked for $80. The room felt very clean and had a huge king size bed with a new TV. It even came with a Keurig with many different coffee and tea options. The free breakfast in the morning was great as well. We stayed here the first night of our Fort Lauderdale vacation last month. And it was actually a walk in stay. We knew we'd be arriving into town late and just wanted a simple room before checking into our resort we stayed at the rest of our trip. Funny thing is this hotel was 100 times nicer than our resort that was three times the price. Only negative thing I can say is the hotel is near train tracks. I could see the noise bothering some, but I sleep with a white noise app anyways which easily drowned it out.

There is little around the area of the hotel as itis mostly commercial. It was close to the highway and only 20 or so minutes from the airport. The hotel was clean and we say them doing maintenance and painting while we were there. Breakfast was ok. Did appreciate the almond and coconut milk was available in steak of cow's milk. There is train tracks directly behind the hotel with some noise and whites now and then. There is also a small airport nearby but we only heard one or two small planes.

My stay at the hotel was pleasant: nice clean room, workout facility; sparkling pool, and well-maintained grounds. However, I was very disappointed with the lack of customer service and willingness to help by the front desk clerk on duty upon my arrival at the hotel. While checking in, I asked the clerk (Peter) if the room was on the first floor; he blandly stated that it wasn't. I again stated my preference, "I really wish the room was on the first floor", and rather than accommodate my request, he mindlessly stated, "the computer pre-assigns the rooms". This was a simple request that could have been easily accommodated. Everything else at the hotel was great... especially their extensive selection at breakfast.

Room clean, bed comfy, bathroom very small, TV sucked most channels the signal was all fuzzy and several didn't come in at all, but the breakfast was surprising good along with the friendliness of the staff. However at check in the clerk wasn't as friendly as all others we encountered in fact he was quite cold and short. Railroad behind it but you hardly noticed trains were infrequent and very fast only seconds long.

Everything was great during our stay. The breakfast was good. The stuff made sure they kept everything clean and made sure it was an enough for everyone. My kids really enjoyed the pool. I had forgot (or lost) my id on the way to the hotel and they were able to still help me without any problems. My key and paperwork was ready when I arrived and everything was ready when I checked out. It was a very easy process. Thank you

"why is Peter so rude to your customers."

So I booked my reservation online on the 23rd for 24th to 27th. Prior to doing so spoke with a very professional gentleman by the name of Thomas who placed me on hold in order to verify he was providing me with accurate info, which I appreciated. After speaking with Thomas i felt very competent in my understanding of procedure. You see my home was being fumigated for termites and I needed an earlier check in (ok 20$ for early check in) Thomas was so professional he spoke with the assist manager and the general manager one of whom I spoke with just to verify Thomas's statements. So upon arriving I approached the front desk to not be greeted by a human being named peter. So I said good afternoon my name is so and so my reservation number is129871336699 but this very very rude human does not let me finish he points to the sign and coyly barks at least 6/7 times check in is at 3. So I said well if you would let me finish could explain that I spoke with Thomas and an early checking was initiated on my behalf.they sighed and walked off without a word. Me my partner my 15 yr old and my 18month old sat there 20 min. (I checked repeatedly) so during that time i went on line and found some numbers to customer care. Got up walked out after calling out loud of any one. Went back to my home thank heavens they were just unloading the tent ran inside and called customer care whom called the hotel to make sure peter was forced to perform his front desk duties.so I checked in i believe around 2:45. Now the room. Which stunk so bad when I went to get the house keeper to deodorize it she walked in my rm and said ieee turned her nose up and walked around spraying vigorously the lovely febreeze. When I following day I realize the organic no hormone no antibiotics chicken I fried which cost me 14.00$ , my yukon gold potato salad, and my sons goat milk. Had all spoiled. Because the refrigerator in 425 was broken but I still had to wait until the 26th (peter) also the television in the living rm area is fuzzy maintenance came said he let them know to change rm. No one ever addressed it. So I asked the asked the assistant manager what's going on will something be done about the issues. She was polite about it but let me know that its not her fault its Comcast and if I've ever dealt with the cable company. ...... I politely let her know no I have boxes. I am very disappointed with my overall stay. The only thing that made it tolerable was that it is quiet and the hallways smelled better than the rooms so upon leaving the rm you take a deep breathe. Oh and let me not forget to commend Gerald who welcomes your guest opens the door for them. And has a genuine caring ability. Without a doubt Thomas and Gerald are the two employees that conduct themselves with hospitallity.

I stayed March 21-March 27, 2016. The hotel is clean and nice and everything looks new as if they must have recently remodeled and refurbished. The laundry, gym, rooms, entrance, dining room (breakfast buffet),beds, furniture and fixtures all looked new and classy. The bathrooms were huge and generous. The staff (including Girard, Gianni, Tiffany) were always pleasant and helpful. The breakfast offering was nice too. No views and the grounds are quaint. I was there for vacation, cruise and shopping (I didn't mind the trains because I have lived in NYC). It is close to Waffle House, Walmart, Sam's, etc. No bus or shuttle service. Security all night. I shopped around for the best rates that week and this was among the lowest. I have paid more for 3-star hotels in Miami, Orlando, Palm Beach, and Fort Lauderdale....this was the nicest.

"A great place to stay while traveling"

Room was nice and clean, continental breakfast included. Outdoor pool available. Wanted to check in early and had to speak to the Manager and after a bit of convincing, he agreed to have a room clean within 1 hour for us, although we drove 28 hrs straight. He had a large group the night before. When we finally got a room, everything and everyone was great!

Was a two night visit for celebrating a relatives 105th (yes 105) birthday. The hotel location was in the middle of all the planned events just off I-95. But beware, I-95 is a traffic nightmare. The only real drawback was we had to do a U-turn to get to the hotel on Powerline Road.

"Poor Sleeping Experience"

I had to occupy the sofa bed, and found out that it was broken. I reported it to the front desk, and came back and the sofa bed was still not fixed, and the manager admitted that the last person that booked the room broke the bed. Giving me a room with a broken bed should have never occurred. The manger nor employees were accommodating about this. I was VERY displeased!!!!

"Nice enough hotel, but too close to train tracks"

We expected to hear the I-95 but did not expect to have the commuter train tracks right outside the window! As the train blew through sounding its horn multiple times an hour it meant we didn't get a good night's sleep. The bed was comfortable and the rooms clean (which are two big pluses). Breakfast was included in the rate and was okay. Both coffee and tea were available in the lobby 24 hours a day - and were most welcome. The outdoor pool was a welcome diversion, the towels a little small (which we have found quite frequently at other hotels).

Our bedding in our rooms is new and the towels we provide at the pool are not beach towel size but standard hotel pool towels. We do offer a lot more than other area hotels in regards to breakfast choices. We offer Vanilla Almond milk and Coconut milk as an alternative choice to the standard milk choices. We utilize a local bakery for fresh danish. We offer 4 fresh fruits, while our competitors only offer 2. Freshly made waffles can be topped with a fruit melange, whipped cream, powdered sugar, cinnamon or just butter and syrup. We always offer a gluten free cereal and our fresh oatmeal can be topped with a selection of 9 different toppings. For those who like some kick to their egg selections we offer at least 3 choices of hot sauces. We hope you return soon.

I cancelled this reservation twice and have still been charged for room. I spoke to Best Western about this but they say I must pay. So I have registered a dispute with credit card company. Because of this charge I will not be staying at any Best Western Establishments in the future and will make sure my friends and family all know about this unfair incident.

Our room faced a high speed commuter train track and the train ran off and on all night. Very loud, horns, track noise, difficult to sleep. The best part of our stay was the breakfast. The selection was outstanding, the lady in charge was caring and the area very clean.

Nothing like the Best Western we stayed at in WPB last year near City Place. It was a very good stay for the money, This Best Western is in a dismal location and the hotel parking lot was full of trucks & trailers & some of the hotel guest seem a bit undesirable. In all fairness the hotel staff was okay and the breakfast in the morning was good. We had to go through 3 rooms before we found a decent one because some smell of cigarette smoke and the room was dingy. I would not recommend this hotel to any one to stay. BTW > elevator smell like a dead skunk!

All the staff were very welcoming, showed us their coffe.tea,hot chocolate, juice machine in the Lobby 24/7! microwave oven, fridge, fancy coffee machine,hairdryer, shampoo,body lotion+, bed was soft but firm with soft sheets, loads of pillows! everywhere was spotless. they were very proud of their property and rightly so.

Me and my family stayed at this property for about three nights and was a very pleasant experience, except only for one thing, the train is passing behind the hotel at late night and early morning, but then when you go to the breakfast they make you forget about this problem, specially Ms Dora Gonzalez that was a real pleasure to meet, she is always ready to meet you with a beatiful smile and a great breakfast, very clean area, also the rooms are clean, the front desk staff are also very kind and helpful. It was a wonderful experience and we are planning to repeat the next month. Thank you very much, great job!!!

The hotel was very clean, the staff was friendly and attentive and the breakfast was great. Both the exterior and interior were impressive and the price was reasonable. We stayed at this hotel for one night en route to Pompano Beach since we took a very late flight. We were pleasantly surprised and would highly recommend this Best Western.

Nice and clean exterior and interior lobby. Room was clean. Good bed and bedding. Good access to cruise port. Not a beach hotel if that is what you are looking for.Nice breakfast buffett and good seating for couples and families. Selection of food was pretty good and the coffee was good. there arent't any restaurants within walking distance except at the hotel next door. that food was average.

Please do not consider this hotel, terrible smell upon entering hotel, requested quiet hotel room only to learn of train going by all hours of the night. The phone did not work, several requests to fix, nothing. Toilet broke, called for service early evening, said a plunger would be brought up right away, none brought until the following morning, waking me up. Most disappointing, when asking for late checkout because my Son was sick, was not provided by very rude General Manager!

You were offered a late check out til 1 pm at no charge. We had offered you to stay later with a minor fee. I did not speak to you while you were on property, so I am unaware of any staff members, including me, who treated you rudely. My daughter and I were at hotel for a total of 11 days, to be honest the first couple of day s the room was clean properly, but as the day s passed , the situation became worst. Rug not vacuumed, live bugs, dead bugs, sink and bath not wash down. i presented myself at front desk 3 times, manager not present will advise him of situation via email I honestly do not know if Mr Christopher Ott was advised or just did not have the decency to come forward. Only once we received a call from front desk at 11:30pm offering us to change room, a tad late to pack up room and wake up daughter, Unacceptable. i was then told that I had to be understanding because I was at hotel for a long stay which meant my room was only made up at end of day, which basically means your room will be made up last. So if I understand properly my room will be cleaned if I am on a short stay , and if I stay longer to bad your room will be done at end of day. We came back one day at 3:45 and are room was still not made up. Unacceptable Another issue when your husband calls from Canada phone rings between 5 to 15 minutes before answering. I actually went downstairs to see what problem was, clerk at desk is in back office doing stuff! Answering phone should be a priority for customer service. And to be honest the trip was to take care of family business since my father had passed away, I just did not have the energy to make a commotion with the staff that really was not present or attentive. i just really tried to keep my positive energy for myself. (I dealt with a indian gentleman and a elderly lady at desk) I filled out customer service survey from best western, never heard from them also, I guess no one cares, no effort was made to accommodate or fix the situation. Went to this hotel based on reviews. Did not expect a Hilton for no-name price. Price was very well fair for this hotel. A little older, not the best area and equipment a bit older. But convenient to I95, place was clean, friendly staff and decent breakfast. Would definitely return.

Room smelled like smoke. TV did not work. Breakfast was below average. The front desk was not very helpful with the issues. There was also a train track right behind the hotel and the horn was blowing on and off all night long. When I call for reservations the I asked how old the hotel was and the person said one year.... it was obvious is was much older.... like twenty years old.

While our hotel is 20 years old, it has been freshly renovated and is a new Best Western. All of the bedding, TV's, carpet, tubs, toilets and other furnishings are new. The walls are the only thing that is not, and they are freshly painted. Our staff has no control over the Tri Rail commuter system that is operated by Miami/Dade and Broward counties. Our breakfast options change daily. We rotate our egg selections from cheese omelets, fried eggs, breakfast steak burritos and scrambled eggs. Our meat selections change daily and usually are bacon, smoked sausage, sausage links, fresh sliced ham and sausage patties. We are required by Best Western to have two fresh fruits, we offer 4 including bananas, oranges, pears and apples. Our breakfast has a make your own breakfast sandwich option which offers three premium breads such as butter croissants, einstein bagels and english muffins. Our make your own fresh waffles are not only offered with syrup, but have the option of a peach or berry mix that can be topped with whipped cream. Our danish are from a local bakery down the street, delivered fresh daily and we rotate between fresh fruit turnovers, scones, cheese pockets, stuffed cigar pastry and regular danish. We would always entertain selection suggestions.

Honestly this was the first trip that I planned and I have had very very little experience with reserving a hotel but the hotel staff made it a real pleasure to stay here. I've never been to Fort Lauderdale so I was a little surprised at the location of the hotel, but after spending three days driving around the area I quickly realized the hotel is located in a great area. There's a Publix up the street, numerous gas stations, and the interstate isn't very far either. What really sold me on this particular Best Western was the staff. They were extremely helpful, friendly, and obliging to my boyfriend and I, as well as to the other guests. I am very glad I stayed at this hotel!

So this property is ideally located just off the I-95 and super easy to find. Our room was clean and the breakfast room was excellent. The staff both on front desk and in the breakfast area were great. Only problem is there is a train track not even 50 feet behind the hotel and every hour on the hour the train goes roaring by, signals clanging and whistle blowing. I was confident that surely this wouldn't continue all night but I was wrong! It went on all night long. It was the worst nights sleep ever. I reserved the room on points so I guess they made sure I had the worst room, but I can't see how other guests even on the other side of the hall wouldn't have been hearing the trains too.

Booked this hotel on Priceline before departing on a cruise. Everything closer to the port was grossly over-priced. Walking into the lobby was my first sign of trouble. There was a horrible smell of chemicals not sure what it was but it was not pleasant and it was over-bearing. This hotel is right next to the freeway and worse yet it is right next to a railroad track that is active. Bring ear plugs! The rooms were a bit smaller than most hotels at this star level. The breakfast was ok, nothing to brag about but no problems except the eating area was too small for the amount of guests eating. It was quite crowded. Glad we were just there for a short stay. Its also not in an area of town that you would want to go walking the streets looking for a dinner restaurant. Luckily we found a Thai restaurant that delivered. Wouldn't book this hotel again.

Our room was beside the train tracks which was not pleasant, but not all that many times. The rooms need upgrading especially the floors. The bathrooms are all the same apparently, and they are so tiny if a person with long legs tried to close the door while using the facilities they might not be able to. Otherwise, the staff were friendly and the rooms were clean.

We drive to Ft Lauderdale several times a year so my wife can see her Dr. @ Nova SE University & have always stayed at another facility close by. This trip we found out at the last minute that we would have to bring our dog & cat. Our usual Hotel is not "pet friendly" so I had to cancel & find another place to stay. Very difficult at the last minute during February season, but The Best Western 1-95 Inn was able to accommodate us and the pet(s) for our 1 night stay on a Sunday. This Hotel was about an additional 20 minute drive to get to our Dr. appt @ Nova but we had no traffic problems at 9:15 am on Monday morning. I almost did not book because of some of the comments (train noise etc) But we were pleasantly surprised by this small hotel. First, there was no unusual smells & no "febreeze" type of smell in the lobby, halls or in the room, which was a big plus as those sprays make my wife ill. We heard no train noise & no noise at all for that matter. We had a first fl room on the parking lot side. The room had hard flooring which is great for a room accommodating pets. Frige, microwave, Cable TV, Internet.etc. The bed & pillows were comfortable with extra pillows & were triple sheeted. The a/c worked great in any mode that we set it on Sink area is separate from the lav/shower & is more than adequate size for 2 persons. The lav/shower wasmwuite small. The door barely cleared the w/c, but it was clean, plenty of hot water & much to my wife's delight the shampoo & soap amenities were the "Archive" brand which she loves & the snowy white towels appeared new. Also a Keurig coffeemaker with assorted pods in room as well. There is a separate marked area outside off the parking lot for walking your dog which was nice. Plenty of parking. 24 hr coffee, Decaf & Hot tea in the lobby was good, even at 10 pm. Breakfast was adequate & usual for this type of hotel. The price was very reasonable & the staff was friendly and professional. Restaurants, convenience stores & gas were all very close. There is a pool, but we did not use any of the facilities. By no means is this a luxury hotel or somewhere I would vacation, because of the location, but it exceeded our expectations being comfy & clean. We would definitely use this hotel again if we had to travel & bring a pet along. I have added it as my back up & would recommend this hotel especially if you have to bring your ( well behaved of course) furry friends!

We stayed overnight twice last month just before a cruise. Appreciated the opportunity to leave our vehicle at no charge, during both cruises. Trains woke me up a couple of times on the second stay but noise didn't last long...besides, "I Like Trains" as Fred Eaglesmith's song goes. Breakfast was substantial and the coffee excellent. Staff very helpful.

This hotel is right next to a city railroad track. This is a heavily used track and the noise was terrible. We were woke up at least every hour and unable to get a good night's rest. This is a clean hotel and the emmities are fine. But the noise preventing us from sleeping was just not something we were warned about. I don't think even earphones would have helped. This hotel is close to freeway and not far from airport but the noise was terrible.

Price is reasonable, but it is far removed from the cruise port and beach. Unless you have a rental car not close to much. Overall experience was good. No complaints but breakfast could have been a bit better when I compare to other BW hotels I've been to.

This was a upgraded hotel and it had a good breakfast with many extras. We had reservations so check in and check out was easy..My only complaint was that about 9pm someone knocked on door and asked who the room name was under..Almost like they lost track of which guest was where..I was relaxed and in my PJ's , so it was awkward.

This hotel is in a great location just off the I95 in the north part of Fort Lauderdale. The room was cozy and comfortable. Breakfast was great. They have a special area to exercise your pet. The only down side was that the pool was quite cold even though we were told that it was heated.

Overall the hotel was clean and comfortable, easy to find and had lots of food choices nearby. Only stayed one night but would stay again for a short trip. I was hoping to get an early check in after my flight got in after 12 pm that day but there were no rooms cleaned and ready at that time. So I came back later and met a huge comfortable bed in a very decent sized room, with a small fridge and microwave.

Breakfast was under par compared to Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express. We had booked 5 rooms for a pre-cruise stay with a large group. We mentioned that we would be in around 2p and were told our rooms would likely be ready. When we arrived, they weren't ready, and we were told it'd be a short wait. We waited. And waited. And waited - and each time we asked, we were told 10 more minutes. Check in is 3pm We didn't get our rooms until 4:30. The front desk manager didn't give a DAMN and basically threw his hands up and told us to wait. HAD they said "It'll be 2 hrs", we'd have gone to get food or something - Instead, 17 of us waiting in the restaurant area, for the perpetual 10 minutes. In our suite, the pull out bed was destroyed, and had no bedding. When I went to get a blanket the same man kept handing me sheets. Evidently they don't know what a blanket is either. Otherwise the rooms were great, train was no issue, breakfast was fine. Just this one guy really tainted it for everyone.

Comfortable enough room with usual piece you expected. Looked like it could be a nice comfortable place to stay until you tried to spread out. Then you would find that the room layout is too awkward to even find a place for your bags. One night is no trouble but multiple nights is not it's thing.

I was in town for business and stayed at this hotel, being a Diamond Rewards Member and was very disappointed. I will say that the rates were the lowest buy for a little more money, I will stay elsewhere next time. Breakfast was good and although I now noticed pictures on this site of bug problems, I did not encounter any. The housekeeping crew was great and friendly. The tall man at the front desk is worthless. Our room door had problems. I brought them to his attention and he said he would report but he did not. I saw the maintenance man on my floor, two days later and I mentioned it to him. He said that he "knew about it"... what??? So you know about but do not fix it? His response was very concerning as I am a paying customer and expect that the door is going to work. Not taking it seriously is playing customer's safety and security. There was a strange odor (smoke) in the hotel lobby and in my room. Not staying here again...

The first floor is for pets, but you would never know it. Hotel was clean and had no odors. The room was clean and good sized. We brought our bikes up for security but in hindsight we could have left them on the rack. We had a bit of a wait to check in and they couldn't make a reservation for us for the next night in Savannah. The supervisor was a bit gruff, but that wouldn't keep me from using this hotel again.

Overall it is a great hotel, bed is comfy, room is clean. The shower curtain rod was so lose on the wall the the curtain stayed only in the middle and would not go up either side. The breakfast is good but only one waffle maker so there is always a wait. I think the prices of decent hotels in this area are over priced. For what we paid it should have been at least a 4 star hotel.

I don't usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to save some innocent customers from what I experienced. I was stuck in Ft Lauderdale due to Winter Storm Jonas and needed a place to stay for my 3rd night as my other hotel was booked completely. Believe these reviews about the cockroaches they are not isolated incidents as the Management claims. I checked into my room which had several holes in the bathroom wall and was starting to unpack when I was startled by a cockroach underneath the air conditioning unit. I was offered the opportunity to look at another room which smelled terribly of must and smoke that hit me as soon as I opened the door. Having asthma, this was not an option for me. Upon being offered to look at a third room, the fire alarms went off! This hotel is supposed to be non smoking, however, I saw several people getting into the elevator with packs of cigarettes in their hands. And many people outside smoking cigarettes during the wait for the fire trucks to come. As we were exiting the building, a fellow customer had stated that for the past three nights she had been complaining to the staff that people were smoking in the hallways and near the stairs. It is true, the hallways smell terribly. And whatever they are using to cover up the smell is making it worse. When I tried to reason with the woman at the desk she stated I would have to contact expedia to get a refund. She did not seem terribly surprised by the complaints as per the reviews these seem to be common occurrences here. After the cockroaches, the holes in the wall, the disgusting health hazard of a place this is, the fire alarms going off... all they would agree to was a refund of $25. I was in my initial room for no more than 20 minutes when I discovered the cockroach and spent the rest of the time lugging around my suitcase from one disgusting room to the next and then outside waiting for the fire department to come and clear the hotel for safety. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. It's not worth getting a cheap room to go through all of this. The Holiday Inn Executive Suites is much nicer about a mile away, as is Courtyard Marriott Cypress Creek.

Dear Jennifer, I do very much apologize the hotel did not exceed your expectations. With that being said in regards to your isolated incident comments. On the evening you stayed with us we served 163 guests. Of those guests that particular night, you and your husband were the only guests that informed us of a bug issue. That is an exact equivalent of 1.2% of the guests we served that evening which encountered a bug issue. I wholeheartedly agree that even less than 2% of our guest should NOT incur this issue while staying at our hotel. We do not raise roaches or bed bugs in hotels. They usually brought in from outside sources which may include boxed shipments or other guests. It is our nationwide pest control service, Ecolab, responsibility to keep pests out of our property. They are very skilled in hotels and restaurants as these buildings are much different than most other commercial properties. I have forwarded them your email and let them know they not only let you down with their service but the hotel as well. They will be aggressively treating the guest room you occupied. Again I apologize that you had an issue with an isolated incident.

Clean friendly service! Breakfast is plentiful. What ever you do DONT BACK INTO A PARKING SPOT near the beach or underground. They boot your car and you have to pay 65.00 to get the boots off and then pay additional garage fees because you have to wait for them to be removed.

I would not recommend this hotel to any one that is staying in Ft. Lauderdale. While I was here, someone went into my room and took over $300 dollars and two credit cards and a debit card out of my purse. I left my purse in the room to go get something to eat. No one had any business in my room because this was around 8 pm. The bathroom is to small, when you get out of the shower you almost step in the commode. The first day our room was not cleaned and the last night I noticed a dead roach in the bathroom.

According to the security cameras and the lock profile, no one had entered into your guest room during the period of time you had indicated. I would suggest you consult the security service at the casino you visited earlier that day and see if they can look to see if someone may have gotten into your wife's purse while she was gambling. Most of all, I know that no one entered your room that evening, because I was in that particular hallway ALL evening myself with another employee working on some preventative maintenance issues. We stayed at the Best Western I 95 for 2 nights before our cruise and 1 night after the cruise. Very nice and clean Hotel. The Staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. A special thank you to Maria who is taking care of the hot breakfast. Very nice clean pool area, towels are provided there. Wish the water would have been a little bit warmer to take a dip. Wish they would offer a shuttle service from/to the airport and cruise terminal.I'm sure it would attract a lot of travellers to stay there. Had some difficulties with the local transport companies when it cam to arrangement regarding transport to the cruise terminal and airport but the front desk did what ever they were able to do. Thank you Peter, I know you did your best. Great rooms. 2 queen beds. We stayed there with 4 adults and had plenty of room. Would stay there any time again.

This is an excellent hotel. Right off the I 95. I can't tell you much about the area as it was dark when I arrived. The decor is really nice, rooms are clean and well furnished. The staff are very helpful and polite.

Clean and comfortable. Nice clean pool. Very reasonable rate. Not too far from the airport. Staff was easy to work with. Accommodated a large group with 5 reservations. Halls were overly fragranced. No cruise port transportation. Used Elite transportation at $12.50 per person.

Excellent hotel, staff were very professional , Tiffany at the front desk was extremely hospitable,courteous ,always helpful. Peter, who checked me in has a great attitude ,left a very positive impression on my mind.Dora,the kitchen staff employee make one feels like they are at home. Great breakfast , wide variety of selection .Jessie,in the maintenance Dept .made sure our room was not lacking anything . Room was super clean, fresh linens, thanks to an excellent room service staff, friendly environment .Met the manager,Mr.Chris,great personality, very understanding and great listener.The entire hotel reflects the efficiency of its management and staff. "Worth the Price!"

I work at a Best Western and stayed at this hotel for a mini-vacation. Keeping that in mind, I know how things go and should go and I also am more understanding than most because I can relate. Overall, the hotel is very nice and well-maintained. When we checked in their was a larger group checking in (likely 8-10 rooms) and we understood we would have to wait. There was only one desk agent on so I assume their occupancy was low and we just happened to checkin at the same time as the group. That being said we waited 45 minutes to an hour to be checked in and the agent behind the desk probably could have been a bit faster. He also did not have a name tag on which I found to be odd. But he was nice as was the gentleman who checked us out in the morning. The rooms are very nice, and beds very comfortable. There was some hair in our shower from the previous guest and some clear flakes on the bed but both were minor and did not bother me. My only real "complaint" is that the hotel isn't really near much... its kind of off the beaten path and about 15 minutes away from downtown. Other than that, great place to stay at an affordable rate.

Great hotel, professional staff, and clean. The staff was very helpful. We were supposed to stay at Universal Palms next door. It was a horrible place. Dirty, loud, stains on the carpets, garbage every where, and it smelled. Thank goodness we came to Best Western right next door.

I booked a reservation with the option to pay at hotel through Expedia. As I was searching for more deals I noticed hotels.com had the same hotel with rental car for a better deal. I cancelled the 1st reservation and booked 2nd reservation with confirmation and authorization to pay at hotel with cash or credit card. I requested to check in around 1:00a.m. On 1/1/16 due to flight being delayed. I called hotel to make sure that these arrangements were ok and was told yes, but I would still have to pay for the 31st which was fine with me. When i arrived at the hotel a couple was checking in with the night clerk ahead of me. When it was my turn in line, I gave him my name and he stated we don't have a reservation for you. I pulled up my confirmation and said I just got a reminder yesterday about my reservation. He then said im sorry it's showing you cancelled your reservation. I stated no I booked through hotels.com. He then says well that happens with third party bookings. Then he states oh no this was a collect reservation and your card declined. I told him that was incorrect and my reservation clearly says pay at hotel. He said I'm sorry we have nomore rooms, if you had of made it before that couple I would have been able to help!!!! No what happened was he gave my room to the couple and tried to come up with different excuses!!!! Me and my fiancé had to drive around til the next day!!!! We finally found a hotel in South Beach that had a check in at 3:00p.m. But after we told clerk about our horrible ordeal, he got us a room ready at 1:00p.m. Thanks Beach Villa!!!!! Best Western in Ft.Lauderdale sucks!!!!! Horrible experience but after that I enjoyed South Beach!!!!

We also noticed that you had made a reservation and cancelled that reservation, before making a new reservation. Perhaps you confused the Expedia service. We did hold your reservation, which was guaranteed by a credit card, til after 6pm. After 6 pm, all rooms reserved will be charged. If the form of payment declines, we can no longer hold the room. Stayed one week., This good be a great place to stay. We did not have maid service for 3 days. The mold in the room was terrible. I have asthma so this caused health issues. There were no other rooms to change to. We had to go front desk to get clean towels and linens. Management seems to have a problem at this property.

We checked reviews for this place and booked, no reviews were that bad but I since see there are a fair few new negative reviews. We stayed here one night before getting a Cruise in December and saw no issues with the cleanliness of the place nor the bugs people are talking about so perhaps its an isolated incident. We had a comfortable nights stay, the AC in the room is fairly loud so sleep was interrupted for some of our group.

Killed several Cockroaches in my room.. Management would spray it and clean out the room.. Same Cockroache that I've killed on the first night was still on the same spot on the floor on the 4th night. Management was not so friendly and reception is very harsh and rude.. Management keeps on defending the hotel that's actually not so clean and has stains disgusting on there restrooms downstairs ind the lobby While writing this review in the lobby of the hotel just now heard a couple complain at the front desk about having mouses in there room.. gosh hairs on my arms standing up straight..

Great hotel, just a pity we had some unexpected guests in the room cockroaches. We complained and they cleaned the room, pity the dead cockroach was still waiting on us. The people here were exceptionally friendly. We will just have to fumigate our luggage back home.

we stayed for 1 night after our cruise. The hotel is next to I95 and a railroad is right back of the hotel, you can hear train whistles especially in early morning commute hours. The area is probably not in the best part of the town, but we didn't feel unsafe and the hotel is in good and clean condition. The breakfast is adequate.

This Best Western may not be the biggest or the best but it can't be surpassed in the friendly, inviting staff that make your stay so positive you want to tell others. From Chris Ott the Director of Operations right down to Housekeeping and Food staff there can't be a more unified and warm group of people. The grounds are immaculate and the food choices rotated daily from meats, to eggs, breads and yogurts. Tiffany the Front Office Manager is efficient and can handle any situation. Our stay was 6 nights over Christmas and we wouldn't change a thing. Well done Chris and staff.

Staff here is very friendly and the hotel itself was renovated within the last year I believe. It looks very nice throughout. There are train tracks about 40 yards behind and you WILL hear it, especially 6am to 7am... Every few minutes. There are intersections right here as well so the trains have to blow their horn. Double bed rooms are in the back only, single bed rooms might have some buffer at the front from the sound. We did have trouble getting extra towels, took 2 days and me going to the desk and bringing them up myself. The is a security guard at night that walks out for nearly every car that pulls in, which was a nice safety feature.

The exterior and lobby area are better than we expected for a Best Western. The outdoor pool was also pretty nice. The rooms themselves are nice and functional, but nothing fancy. The walls and ceiling could be redone. The beds were surprisingly very comfortable. The service was exceptional. The front desk staff member, Gianni, was very accommodating and helpful. He called us several minutes after we checked into our room to make sure everything was okay. While the hotel itself is not necessarily in an interesting area, it is only a 15 minute drive to downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Front desk was excellent Peter,Tiffany, Carol and Gianni were very pleasant and professional in their dealing with me.Very polite and friendly.Met Chris, the manager, great personality. Foyer was always clean, Jesse, one of the workers was very helpful, rooms were clean,sheets, towels and linens were always clean in our room.Bathroom was maintained in a very clean manner, room service and maid staff kept our room clean daily.Pool was excellent, exercise room was kept in order.Breakfast was great with a good selection and well presented .Will definitely be back.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in, the Fort Lauderdale i95 location in perticular. The staff is amazing and the hotel has great amenities-gym,outdoor pool, laundry room, vending machines, etc. one person on the staff in particular, Gianni, is absolutely wonderful, so kind and accommodating!!!! Hopefully you will get him upon check in! Will be using this hotel every time I stay at a hotel in the F. Lauderdale area!!!!

When we asked the individual that checked us in where there might be a good place to eat he shared with us that the neighborhood was not safe for us to walk around at night especially. We had just arrived from Grand Cayman and flying out the next day so didn't have a car. So what do you do when you get in early afternoon when you can't walk anywhere. Taxi was our only option and that get's expensive.

All I can tell you if you enjoy sleeping with roaches and bedbugs then check in??????!! The front desk day manager Tiffany was extremely rude! And the director of the hotel was the worst!!! Christopher OTT !!was his name , Bad attitudes run wild here ! Along with the bed bugs and roaches! Which neither of them seemed too worried about ! After telling me to come down to the desk immediately for a 20 % percent discount on another stay there!! No WAY! I didn't sign up for BED BUGS and ROACHES!! He proceeded to tell me they are working the problem , then tells me I can see there's no pleasing you !!! Looks at Tiffany and say refund his money and put him on the don't let back in list of the hotel !!! HowRude !!! ????! And walks away rudely! Instead of apologizing about the bed bugs and roaches!!!?????? I even took a video it was so disgusting and disgraceful!!! ??He's a real piece of work along with his assistant Tiffany!! If you stay here nights as well rent a tent in a bug infested tenement!!!

I depended on reviews on this site before I booked my stay at this hotel. Now I will tell you what I wish I knew about this hotel before I booked. The positives... * Hotel is about a 15 minute drive to the beach and resort areas. It is technically in an area called Oakland Park. * The price you pay for a room is very reasonable. If you are a Best Western Rewards member and/or a AAA member, you can get an additional discount. Once you compare what you pay for this place versus other hotels closer to the beach, it helps justify the stay. * Parking is plentiful and easy to navigate. The hotel is also easy to find. * Breakfast is included in the price of the stay. * The beds were comfortable and I did get a good night sleep * There is on-site security so if you don't feel comfortable about the area, rest assured they do care and your safety is not taken lightly The negatives...and what all of you really want to know... * The condition of the hotel is not that great. The rooms have not been renovated in a very long time. The carpets look dirty. There is a musty slimy smell as soon as you walk into the hotel. That smell will remain with you in your room if you if have allergies, you might have a problem. * The TVs are HDTVs, but the signal is standard def...and the video and audio quality is horrible. * The shower in my room did not have much water pressure. I cannot tell you how irritating that can be when trying to get shampoo or beach sand out of my hair. * The hotel is frequented by locals who use it as a place to hook up. Please be aware of what happens in places like this. This is not really a tourist or traveler hotel. If you don't care for this scene, go someplace else. That being said, the stay was worth the money. I slept without any issues and got some work done. And that is why I say "you get what you pay for".

I've stayed the Best Western in Miami Oklahoma and was extremely happy with their service. So, it was a no brainer for me to stay in Best Western in Ft., Lauderdale. "What-do-you-know" The service was just as incredible as the Best Western in Miami Oklahoma. I spent the night, heading out on cruise to the Bahamas. Their rooms are nice and clean, comfortable bed, hot water. Free Wi-Fi, pool was clean. Oh, yeah! Great breakfast too! The staff were friendly, very helpful. As soon as plan my next cruise (like next year), I'm staying there again.

The hotel is very wll located close to I 95 with easy access to points North or South, situated in a relatively quiet area with the only drawback being the whistle of occasionnally passing trains. The service is courteous, the rooms are clean and breakfast is excellent with a wide variety of choice.

Came here on vacation. Service was great, staff was helpful, they have free wi-fi, rooms were clean and recently remodeled, great value for what you get, in a decent location. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I had a one night stay at this location. I stayed in one of their suites. It got the job done. It was clean, but didn't meet my expectations entirely. The bed was very comfortable and the sink area was clean as well. The actual bathroom though could have been better. I found a bug in the tub and the toilet kept running a few minutes after I used it every time. The TV reception was also very blurry. In the lobby, the TV quality was great. The TV in my room was a different story though and it was difficult to watch anything. This happened on every channel. The wi-fi worked well. The pool area also looked nice, but I did not have any time to go take a dip! The breakfast area had many seats available. I did not get a chance to try the breakfast though. There was a security guard late at night keeping watch over the parking lot so if you park your car overnight, you can feel a little bit safer with the added measure of security. The airport was not too far of a drive away at all and a 24 hour wal-mart is a few minutes drive away in case you need anything.

When checking in my room was not ready, so I went for a walk. While walking got caught in the rain and returned soaked. While finishing up with check-in, maintenance man showed up with a towel which was very nice. The breakfast attendant was very friendly and outstanding. Suite was good size and clean. Hotel is little far from heart of Fort Lauderdale, but easy access to anywhere you would want to go. Would recommend and would stay again.

Checked in on 11/14/15. The room that was supposed to be non smoking was filled of cigarette fume from the carpet and the walls. After 20 minutes it was so bad we went to the front office and told them we cannot stay in that room because we were having a hard time breathing because of the fumes and if they have another room. The clerk said that he was aware of the smoke that someone had smoked in the room but unfortunately it was all filled no other room was available. After saying that we cannot stay 1 more minute that we have to leave all of the sudden there was a cancelation... really! We went with the desk clerk to see the other room. The first thing we saw was a few roaches heading towards the bath room. My wife had a panic attack and left and waited for me in the parking lot. The only thing i could think is her picturing us taking the critters back home with us. I told the clerk that we cannot stay hear to credit my card and i left. I just received my credit card bill showing the payment of $278.35 and then a credit for $179.28. They charged us $99.07 for not getting what we wanted... a smoke free room. I dont normally write these reviews but charging us almost $100 for leaving because they had not provide us with the type of room we had booked is upseting.

First room I checked into had a dirty bathroom. Front desk didn't care, and didn't have housekeeping visit the room while I was gone as I had requested. An e-mail to the GM, who wasn't even working, quickly fixed the problem with an upgrade/room change. Hotel is newly renovated, and nicely decorated. Second room was very clean and nice. Breakfast was simple, but good - no complaints for a free service! Front desk staff is just generally unfriendly, including the Front Office Manager.

We decided to do a long weekend trip to Fort Lauderdale to get out of the cold and get some sun! We landed in a horrible rain storm and it got worse from there. You know that scene in Home Alone 2 when the family goes to Florida and shows up at the hotel in the middle of the night in the pouring rain? That was us. Check in was alright. It was late and I wanted to get to the room and relax. Upon entering our room, there was a funny smelling odor and I noticed the air conditioner was off. I turned the air conditioner on and it smelled bad. The room was clean for the most part except for the shower and the bathroom. I was greeted with a huge puddle of water when entering the bathroom. We laid down on the bed and all of a sudden heard a loud "honnnnnnnkkkkkkkkkkkkk". We opened the curtains and the train tracks were right there! I knew I would be up all night with the noise. The train came through every hour all night. The following morning we went downstairs for breakfast. The lady who works the breakfast area in the morning on the weekends is a saint! She was friendly, attentive, and kept the eating area clean and fully stocked. We returned to our room after breakfast and it stunk like mildew. It had to be from the air conditioner. I went downstairs to see if maybe they had another room in a quieter section of the hotel that didn't smell. They ended up moving our room to across the hallway. Upon entering the second room, I noticed it was a newer air conditioning unit and you could hardly hear the train. Plus, the room didn't smell. However, I did notice a bug on the last night of my stay. It flew from the air conditioning unit to the back of the TV. I never saw what kind of bug it was. It rained the entire trip and of course on the last day the sun was out (doesn't it seem to always work that way). I went downstairs to the front desk and explained that the sun was finally out, I had a late flight, and could I extend my check out to 1:00 PM so I could get some sun. I was told no that I could only use the room until 12 noon but then I had to be out. It made no sense to me because it was in the middle of the week and the parking lot was empty. At that point, I had enough. I sat by the pool for an hour, showered, and checked out. If I'm in the area again, I probably wouldn't stay here. I would pay the extra and be closer to the beach or the airport.

its a nce clea hotel and good price, but the noise level in this place is bad. you can hear other people down the hall and the trains are bad.the staff at check in and check out were not helpful. they were to busy doin other things. there was not much to chose from for the breakfast buffet.

This hotel is good for an overnight stay before taking a flight from Fort Lauderdale International Airport. Located just 15 min. away from the Airport. Confortable rooms, breakfast included in price. Outdoor pool available. Access to computers and internet beside hotel lobby. Service was ok. Staff available for simple requests. Restaurants with delivery service available in the area.

The room had not been cleaned at check-in (around 7:00 pm); the clerk checked his list and it had not been cleaned. However, the manager and another employee did do a complete cleaning for about 30 minutes while we waited. The door keys did not work and had to be replaced, for both myself and my wife (who had left to shop and then could not re-enter when she returned. The sofa bed was horrible, hard, and uncomfortable. One of the worst nights of sleep I had in a long time. In addition, there were no bed clothes for the sofa bed, so I called the front desk who said they would be sent right up. More than an hour later I went to the front desk myself to get the bed clothes. They did not have a blanket, only sheets. The bathroom door would not close or stay closed, which was awkward since my mother-in-law was in the same suite with us. Any of these problems occurring on their own would not have been a big deal; however, the totality gives a VERY POOR view of your hotel. I should note that the clerk, upon checkout, did say he would give a $20 discount should we stay at that same hotel again. That definitely will not happen, although I will keep an open mind and may try your hotel in a different location in the future.

Stayed there after a late night flight. Pulling in I was surprised to see night security but thought it was a nice touch. Front desk was fine, not especially welcoming but was quick. Walking into the room I noticed a weird smell that reminded me of a mix of chlorine and cigarettes. Figured I would only be there til early morn so no big deal. When I went to turn the ac on, since it was set at 82, there were bugs crawling on the unit. Since it south Florida and bugs are normal I still wasn't too alarmed. Then went to shower and saw more bugs on wall. The shower wasn't clean as there were some hairs on shower wall. Also hair in the sink. Being too tired to switch hotels, I brought my bag to the truck so bugs wouldn't get in it and went to sleep. Bed wasn't too bad but allergies kicked in when waking up from the room smell. Breakfast definitely not a highlight. Eggs and sausage were inedible. Plenty of yogurt and bananas so stuck with that. Definitely would not stay there again since many other cleaner hotels in the city and in same price range.

The first impression was great. Nice entry, nice breakfast area, nice room and workout space. The staff was very helpful with directions, food delivery options and business services. The only 2 problems were the Kureig machine was filthy and unusable even after trying to clean it for 45 minutes. The odor in the exercise room was strong.

Came back and rebooked after being very impressed with first stay. Thought I had found a hotel I could continue to book for repeated planned overnight visits to the area for the next several months.Don't think I'll be back after this stay. So sad, they have a lot going for them at this location and you can tell they have put the time and money in to making this hotel true gem dis spite it's location.

"My stay at Fort Lauderdale"

It was a great stay, The price in south Florida are higher than central or north. Peter at from desk did a great job. I have a coupon of $20.00 He quick what was about and credit it. If I have to go to South Florida again I will stay at Best Western. Is my first choice.

Before i review, for the love of all that is holy, request a room on the odd side of the hallway. For the price and the location, you will be pleasantly surprised by the professional friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness and modern interior of the hotel. The breakfast buffet is standard, and there is a (good) Waffle House immediately adjacent.

Booked this property last minute in route heading South and it was a great experience. It was an easy find right off of I-95 and the next day great access to areas in Ft Lauderdale.The hotel obviously has been recently renovated and the updated room was very, very clean.Did not have a chance to use the pool area but it looked enticing. All of the staff I had interactions with were very polite and professional. Enjoyed meeting and chatting with the Operations Manager, Christopher. You can tell his enthusiasm for his work carries over to his staff. Keep up the great work and we will see you next time in the area.

"Okay, but Expected Better"

The hotel is newly renovated. We had high expectations based on reading positive reviews. However, we were a little let down. The first room had a strong odor of chemicals and the bathroom didn't seem too clean. They moved us, but the TV in the second room had terrible reception. They promised to fix it, on the second day of our stay, but never did. I complained and they provided a discount on my bill which was satisfactory considering most would expect a working television. Rooms are also on the small size. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was mediocre. The hotel provided overnight security in the parking lot which was nice considering that the neighborhood wasn't the best. I might or might not stay here again.

this facility is well ran, from the management, all the way to the employee staffers, they are always kind, helpful, and have great knowledge of their product/services, I WOULD recommend the facility to anyone I know, the accomedations are outstanding

excellent-I have thoroughly enjoyed myself here at Best Western. I would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family. The staff is very accommodating and professional, the food is different but great and the rooms are relaxing. Just come and see for yourself.

Very friendly staff. Very clean property in and out. Great comfortable room. Great breakfast. We visit Fort Lauderdale often to visit family. We have tried many motels. This is one of the cleanest and best we have stayed at.

"Middle of the road BW"

"Average" describes this hotel all around, other than the very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is conveniently located near the freeway. However, the choice of restaurants and other services in the neighborhood is not particularly notable. The neighborhood seems just a little questionable. There are decent restaurants within a mile or two, driving through heavy traffic. The hotel is adjacent to the train tracks and the train horns cause some noise. The room was decent and clean. The Wi-Fi is somewhat inconsistent. Good quality bed.

easy location next to 195, easy parking was near to sawgrass mall on sunrise as well as the swap shop, about ten minutes from fort lauderdale int airport, clean and very friendly staff i would stay here again... best western chain is one of the best hotels that i use all the time........and i have tried other lower price hotels...brent

Staff is amazing, especially Tiffany. She is a great manager and made it a pleasurable stay. Every time I'm in Ft Lauderdale this will be my hotel choice moving forward. I highly recommend this place to anyone staying in the area. From Maggie.

I stayed this past weekend for 1 night with my son and husband. Appearance and staff were great. Entered the room and it was very damp, i am not one to complain and we just dealt with it since we were only there for one night. and that is why i rated this hotel as a good stay. i would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Full disclosure, we're Best Western rewards members. But it is what it is, good or bad. This was great! We had plans for a late night in the area and didn't want to drive home. We knew about this hotel and it made sense to give it a try. They won us over, clean, newly remodeled, great value, close to I95, ample breakfast. Already planning our next stay!

My husband and I stayed here for seven (7) nights, and it was GREAT! The price was very reasonable and the lobby was bright and welcoming. The staff was always on point and always eager to help! Our room was cleaned, spacious, and the king-size bed was extremely comfortable! The breakfast was par excellence with Manny making sure that we were satisfied each morning. The front desk manager, Tiffany, was professional and knowledgeable; the few times we needed assistance with a matter, she was helpful and advisable. I highly recommend this hotel, as it was the best!

"Convinient airport hotel in Fort laudardale"

This comfortable budget hotel is near Fort Lauderdale airport, It has free parking, friendly and efficient check inn, large and comfortable rooms. The hot breakfast is god. There is a bit of noise from I95, but it does not disturb your sleep.

I have read reviews on the establishment, like most places it has its convincing consummate and it's questionable disapproving ones, but might I say the nullifying comments are very shortsighted, there are many amenities and the staff are very kind as well. I am aware that this hotel used to be a Red Roof, but the refurbishment makes the hotel look like it was just created from ground up, the ambience of the Best Western Inn is comfortable and relaxing without a doubt! for the area it is located might I say is convenient as well, due to the fact that it's in dead center of everything you would want to do. The best part is, the price, it is vaguely accommodating, I can not wait to go back! I am so delighted with the experience that I even became a best western rewards member
