We stayed two nights at the Best Western Kiva Inn. The lobby is remarkable with a round fireplace in the middle of the spacious area (that is also where the breakfast area is). It was October, so the whole chimney was decorated with little paper bats which we found cute. They also had spider figurines hidden in the breakfast area so don't get spooked if you're there until Halloween! The front doors had buttons that opened the door automatically, which was so helpful. Check in was easy. We had a handicapped / accessible room on the first floor so we avoided climbing any stairs. The bathroom was large with enough space to operate a wheelchair and with plenty of grab bars. The bathtub was very low which made getting in and out easy and the handheld shower with hose facilitated showering so much. Breakfast was included. One day, they had fried egg rolls in the morning that were delicious and that we had not seen in any other hotel during our road trip. We also liked that there are several garden chairs and tables in front of the hotel where you can sit and that there's hot water available all day, as well as a water bottle refill station. We also took advantage of the hot tub. The only thing we'd found weird was that upon arrival, we only had one small towel in the bathroom (apart from a bath mat). It was the size of a normal towel for drying hands after washing, definitely not sufficient for two adults who intended to take a shower. We asked for more towels at reception and were given (somewhat begrudgingly?) one large towel. For two people. So it was a bit odd, as if towel rationing was in effect. Or maybe we weren't clear. The next morning with a different person at reception, we asked again for another towel and this time, there was no issue at all. We are still puzzled about what the problem was.
First the good attributes, hotel was clean (except for the carpet stains); fixtures in the bath were in like new condition; and bed was comfortable. Negatives: room carpet was very old and had visible stains (would not walk on it in bare feet); carpet in the common areas was the same; hotel had a noticeable strange musty smell that was offensive; furniture was old and dated; breakfast room chairs were coming apart at the seams; common area furniture was worn and dirty; and breakfast was poor in quality and selection (as a consequence, we only had coffee which was fine).
The manager has created a great environment here. Very friendly and he actually cares about guests and that they have what they need. The breakfast was the best I'd had at a Best Western. Real eggs. EXCELLENT sausage gravy. Front desk help was in training but very helpful.
Breakfast is served but the Charco Broiler next door can not be missed for a Colorado special experience. Its a place you wont forget. There are nice plants in the lobby at the Kiva, but the highlight is when the lights illuminated on the check in desk! The pool wasnt in service at the time, but the furniture for the pool looked nice. We had a great stay here!
It's a little dated, but very comfortable (good bed!) and clean. We slept through breakfast, so I can't comment on that. About a mile out of town; tricky to find the frontage road. The people working there were friendly and helpful. I would go back.
The Kiva Inn is close to Odell Brewery and the CharBroil Restaurant. Both are favorites of us. The brewery also has food trucks that we find interesting often. The selection of beers at Odell's is excellent. Odell's also has an Odell Winery next to them. The wines are very good. We usually take some home with us.The restaurant next to the Kiva Inn is only steps away and offers many selections.
Reservation was misleading, description was misleading, pictures are misleading, and then we were denied the room that we reserved and told that we would have to pay the same price for a lower priced room. We have a small dog, agreed to the pet policy during the reservation, and then refused the room when we arrived (we wouldn't have booked had we known that we wouldn't be allowed a “poolside' room. Only a “pet-friendly” room elsewhere with twin queens (we had booked a king). First of all, Pool entry rooms are “parking lot entry rooms” - because that is where the pool is. Right out on the street. We still were willing to put up with that misdirection. One of the problems that is becoming more obvious by these loosely affiliated individual operators is a killer: they make their own rules, and if they mislead you - it's at your expense. There is no “we messed up - we'll fix it” to this outfit. Wouldn't accommodate us in the room, and would not change the price to the rate we could have booked the lesser room at in the first place. I would avoid this place. There are honorable franchise hotels on harmony that are clean, honest, and don't have to trick and mislead.
My wife went to stay at this property for a ladies meeting in Ft Collins. When she checked in and was in the bathroom, she noticed bugs (ants/small red bugs) on the floor. She took a piece of toilet paper and cleaned up the bugs she saw and flushed them down the toilet. When I talked to the manager, he stated he would need to run up and see the room. He went to the room while my wife was there and stated he did not see any bugs and the room was clean. I told the manager my wife stated there were bugs and she cleaned them up. He said he did not know what she was talking about because he did not see any bugs. My wife was leaving the property immediately. I asked the manager if he could do anything about refunding all or part of the rate. He said "No, this cannot be done." I asked him again if he would consider even a partial refund. He again stated "No, this will not be done. You decided to move to another property. There are no bugs that I saw, so I will not do anything for you." Do not stay at this place...
We took a vacation to just get away for a few days. Started in Kansas and went to Mt Rushmore and then to Colorado
Just OK. Was supposed to be a free Best Western night, but charged a fee. Breakfast below Best Western standard breakfast. Go somewhere else, lots of nice hotels around Fort Collins. Service ok. Outside hotel somewhat attractive but inside and experience below standards.
The staff are very helpful and provided me with a pleasant stay. The room was all in working order and very clean. Breakfast was fantastic everyday with more than enough options to please everyone. I will definitely stay here again.
They have a nice steak house next door and the staff at the steak house were very nice people. I drive a dually with a 32 foot trailer and they have enough parking for 2 trucks. They do not have an elevator but it's still a nice place to stay, and the front desk will help you get your luggage to your room.
Stayed here 3 times without an issue. First stay was only $130 or $150 and perfect. I don't like how each time we come back the rooms are more and more expensive... this was our "go to hotel", but the rise in pricing and decline in cleanliness have soured our prospective. While waiting in line there was a lady before us who complained about dirty pillows and needing air freshener for her room. I thought how unlikely this was until we made it to our own room. There were smells radiating out of the carpets, the lamps shades were cracked, the light fixture above our microwave was missing exposing plumbing and wires and Etc, the plug thing in the sink was missing, hair on the bathroom floor near the bathtub, and the most disturbing , popcorn between our sheets. We only got $20 off for the room being dirty. Didn't feel like we were staying in a room worth almost $200 a night. We had always left our rooms extremely tidy so that doesn't seem fair.
I really enjoyed our stay. The woman at the front desk (sorry didn't get her name) was exceptional. We got there a little early and she helped us check in anyway. The bathroom was a little dated but it was clean. The pillows were a little small but I slept well. The pool and hot tub were fun! There is a fun steak house right next door. All in all, I would definitely stay here again.
You can find better places to stay in town for far less. In addition to being way overpriced, beware of the mandatory $100 service fee that is supposed to be refunded within 5 days of checkout. It's a surprise when you check in.
Met family members there from a neighboring state and Everything work out very well. Our room had a nice balcony overlooking the pool. When an unexpected family member was showed up, the front staff suggested we upgrade the second reservation to a room with a pull out sofa, and it all worked out very well for not much more cost.
The worst service I have ever experienced in a hotel in America! Customer service is important for business and this location does not have a Best Western level of service. Very sad how hotels have known names and a level of service is expected but this hotel doesn't have the level of service.
Staff was friendly the lay out of the hotel is good room was clean a little dated but not bad i would say watch the price if a event comes up the price goes way up the area is not bad close to about anything you might need
Dated hotel, but the room we had was large. Breakfast was not as robust as other BWs we've stayed in; eggs, egg rolls, signs asking us not to take eatables out of the small breakfast area. We didn't have a problem with noise overnight. Employees were friendly.
Awesome staff that are always super friendly! This is the second time I've stayed here and it won't be the last! Clean rooms that are spacious and have everything you need. The breakfast is always yummy too!
Horrible place to stay. Rooms were noise. Shower barely should be considered a shower. Tv did not work. Complained about it and was told I could not change rooms because I was already checked in. Would have to wait a couple hours for the manager to show up and try to fix it. When asked why they said because they would have to clean the room. Horrible customer service. Stay away.
The place was cozy, immaculate and welcoming, price was really good compared to the other lodging options around for the amenities and they offered both late check in and late check out which were very helpful.
Breakfast was wonderful. Loved the biscuits and gravy. The front desk lady was wonderful and switched our room from spa tub to balcony room. Balcony room was perfect. Locating the place was easy as well.
The required $200 security deposit that is placed on your credit card and will not be removed for 2-5 days after checkout is absurd. The breakfast lacking in selection and quantity. There is no elevator to the 2nd floor rooms. The next time we will choose another Best Western in the area.
Love Best Westerns! Always have a great experience, they go above and beyond. This was our first stay at this BW in Fort Collins due to the other location being full with students. This location was just as accommodating. Clean, good value, easy check in. Just wish the continental breakfast would have gone a little later.
We were traveling across country visiting friends the weather was unbearably hot. The hotel room was very comfortable and cool. Traditional items for on the go breakfast. Staff was very and very welcoming. No smells or orders in the room.
We loved our stay at this place! We have stayed many times here and will stay many more. I told the manager it was our anniversary and he gave my husband and I a candy bar, it was so thoughtful! It is clean and very comfortable! It feels like home!
First room had odor so we asked to change. Then our second room, once the air was turned on, also smelled awful. There were left over hairs in room. Breakfast was stale and minimal. Do not recommend for price.
I stayed here one night after my daughter had surgery at a nearby hospital. Excellent choice. Alana was helpful and polite at check-in. Room and bath were exceptionally clean and well-appointed. Mattress, pillows and bedding contributed to a wonderful night's sleep. They serve an actual breakfast instead of the grab ‘n go offerings of the past few years; the usual continental breakfast also included eggs, potatoes, and sausage along with some toppings. When I checked out, the gentleman at the desk (perhaps the owner?) was very personable. PS: For those complaining about highway traffic noise and a loud air conditioner, NEVER travel without foam earplugs. They work wonders!!!
Beautiful facility. Loved the decor and architecture. A little different than average. Felt peaceful and clean. Liked the room arrangement with a separate little shelf for the coffemaker, etc. Breakfast was good. Next to a very busy highway so a little noisy if you want to sit outside by the nice pool. Breakfast good. Even had some flavored "syrups" to add to coffee. Would definitely stay there again!
Shocking and rude customer service. We had to reroute because of an emergency flash flooding alert. Called the hotel to talk about it and the receptionist listened silently and then hung up without saying anything. Rang back a few times and the receptionist just kept hanging up. They did the same to the Expedia rep and then charged me full price.
When checking in I specifically asked if it would be okay for me to stay downstairs in the cafeteria and work on my laptop for a few hours following my checkout and was assured that would not be a problem. Then in the middle of my work call the owner Hema P Sarda comes over and tells me to leave the property despite all my pleas to let me at least finish the call. Extremely rude and unprofessional with absolutely no sense of what words "customer" and "service" mean. Stay away from his property.
A bit of a disappointment. The AC was very loud and the bath shower curtain was torn. Room was clean and bedding was fine though. The internet did not work and while the manager was helpful in getting technical support on the line to get the issue finally resolved (have no issues anywhere else so it must be their set up), I wasted almost an hour late at night.
This is a very clean quiet hotel in a convenient location. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The manager went above and beyond to help me when I needed to extend my stay for a night . Close to the school teaching hospital downtown and trails . Pet friendly and very clean. Comfy beds .
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great rooms and comfortable beds. Nice breakfast. We would definitely stay again. Thanks for the good experience. The location is convenient if you are coming off of the interstate.
will never stay at this hotel ever worst experience in over 50 years of traveling. staff was rude and un willing to make the necessary reasonable accommodations for my family. would rather sleep in my car on the side of a busy freeway in downtown Denver than stay in this crappy place.
The owners/managers of the Kiva are bigots. I paid for a room for my nephew who had just been released from jail. All he had were his release papers as ID. The night manager/owner after I had paid through Hotels.com called the police and said he looked homeless, denied my nephew his room and asked for guidance although he did not look homeless. After he told me on the phone he was calling the police I called as well. The Larimer County officer said that he received the call but the manager/owner did not tell him that the room was paid for. He said he told the manager/owner that he had the right to refuse service to anyone. I called back and told the manager I would sue so he allowed him to stay. I called the following morning and spoke to the clerk Alana (sic) and asked to speak to the manager about what had happened the previous night. She informed me the night manager was the owner and his wife was the day manager. Said do not make a complaint because she was not better. I decided to extend his room anyway because I figured my nephew was going to get the same treatment somewhere else. I called to speak to him and Alana answered and gave me to the female owner immediately. Since the clerk told her what I said she said she cancelled my nephew's room because I made the complaint and that she did not have to honor the reservation although I had already paid. I will write corporate. Since my nephew is currently out of his room and does not know that his room was cancelled by the female owner, I am worried that they will call the police. Thanks bigoted owners and aloof day clerk Alana (sic).
This stay was disgusting. They didn't change the hotel sheets and tried to say it was my fault rather than apologizing and rectify the situation. The owner was rude and did not care at all. I will never stay there again and will be contacting corporate.
We could not find a hotel room anywhere in Fort Collins due to graduation and freshman move out! Kiva Inn saved the day and found us a room. The man on the phone was so kind, understanding and helpful. We were very impressed with the staff, hotel and cleanliness and will stay here again!
Since we live out of state and don't want to drive back the same day my hubby has to go to the Dr. in Ft. Collins, this hotel is near his Dr. office and we stay here overnight before heading back home whenever he has appointments.
We really liked staying here. L.G. And Jamie at the front desk were very friendly and efficient. Everything was very very clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. There was a frig and microwave which were helpful. The breakfast was the “usual Best Western breakfast”. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay here again.
Overall, loved this Best Western. Usually they are pricey, but this one was very affordable (February). The front desk staff were genuinely caring and friendly, which was a breath of fresh air. I loved the unique architecture of the building; it brought a feeling of grandeur to the place. My husband is paralyzed and thus a wheelchair user, so we were pretty happy with the layout and size of our accessible room's bathroom. Additionally, most hotels now have high beds, which makes it difficult for my husband to transfer into them; but our bed's height was level with my husband's wheelchair. That was a treat for him. The rest of the room was also spacious enough for my husband to easily get into the room and navigate alongside the bed. Some accessible rooms that we have stayed at in the past have tight pathways from the door to the bed. We usually had to move furniture around to make it work, but this room was great. I recommend to wheelchair users to ask for room 134 if they plan to stay at this Best Western in Fort Collins.
The employees I encountered were helpful and friendly. The room was clean, comfortable and well worth the price. The property was clean, well maintained and quiet. The hot breakfast was delicious and convenient
We found the hotel to be very clean, making us feel confident in staying there during COVID.,,so much so that we came back there on our return trip. The staff was very attentive, and as a bonus, non-dairy milk was available for breakfast to conform to my vegan diet.
The people who own the Kiva and the employees who work here are very nice and helpful. Had a Sport drink bottle that refused to open and felt comfortable going to the front desk to ask for help. They just acted like it was an everyday thing
Very good motel. The staff is very good and friendly. Check in was quick and pleasant. Rooms are nice and comfortable with everything a person needs. Location is good for what we do, and the parking is great.
The pictures online show a completely different sight than the location. This hotel is right on the highway so its loud. I would ask for an inside room if you want sleep. Also, the girl checking us in was training, she was doing a great job but her superior kept stepping in and he was rude and condescending. I would not stay here again.
I can't quite put my finger on it. It's a strange hotel. No elevator. Clean but you feel like you are in Mexico with the humidity inside. It's off the highway and next to some questionable-looking places. I just had the vibe that at some point, someone has definitely been murdered here. The front desk girl certainly was not setting the world on fire.
Went for a one night stay to visit Fort Collins from Denver. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Outside and inside are meticulous in cleanliness and appearance. There's a great outdoor pool, an indoor hot tub, sauna, and exercise room. The rooms were clean and comfortable with good tv and internet. We took our dog so the cleanliness really stood out. And breakfast was plentiful and so good for a free/continental meal. The owners were there in the morning and it became evident why this place is so well run and managed. The husband and wife were jovial, engaging, and proud of their hotel. This is going to be our go-to when visiting Fort Collins from now on!
The hotel was extremely clean, both in the lobby and my room (even the parking lot and pool area). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The gentleman even called me back to make sure I understood some details in my reservation. I am a woman and was traveling alone; I felt safe.
Hotel has a convenient location & good amenities (not that I ever seem to have time to use the pool or fitness center). Easy access to the highway, shopping & CSU make it a regular stop for us on our visits to Ft. Collins. We will stay again!
It was one of the worst nights of sleep we've ever had in a hotel. We checked in at about 10:30pm and checked out at 8:00am. The entire night, we heard a constant pounding through the walls and from the ceiling. We were in Room #117 and apparently there's no room above us. It appears that the stairs from the first to the second floor are next to the room we stayed in. I'm not sure why someone would be walking up and down the stairs all night long, but for $300/night, that's unacceptable. Jacking the rates about $140/per night because the hotel knows that weekend was student move out day, wasn't very cool either. Wrote a letter to the hotel's manager (bwkivainn@gmail.com). No response. Look for another hotel where you can actually sleep through the night!
our stay was short but service was great, rooms clean and quiet for being close to a main road. easy access from the interstate. People were enjoying the outdoor pool and hot tub. Restaurant very close was a plus having great food.
Horrible experience. First we booked the hotel because of its outside pool. Got there pool was closed. While I was unloading I noticed homeless looking individuals walking by and picking up cigarette butts from the floor to smoke them. Got to our room to find out the hotel is outdated, dirty and worst of all in a terrible drug infested area, that backs up to a trashy Mobile home park. There were people dealing something right outside of our window in the back parking lot. My children felt unsafe going to the parking lot, we left after 10 minutes of that freak show. The hotel manager refused to return what we paid even for the following night, added to that the hotel kept a $120 pet deposit. I understand loosing the first nights fee but the second is simply robbery, and the pet deposit for a 10 minute stay is frankly unethical. If you value your safety stay away from this hell hole.
The hotel is old and needs an update. We have been rewards members for many years. we requested a quiet room on the top floor. thw gave us a bottom room with very noisy people above. They said they had nothing else. Would not sgtay here again.
Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, spacious rooms. Great amen despite COVID restrictions. Very comfortable beds with my favorite type of plush blanket. Smoking permitted 20 feet from building which allowed me to sit instead of standing in one spot which really aggravates my bad knees. Overall, an exceedingly pleasant stay.
The place is just okay. The rooms are okay but nothing special. In fact, you can easily hear others in the adjoining rooms. The whole place needs a redo. It is also in an area where there is heavy traffic. Many years ago, that was not a problem but now, you can hear it at night. It's also in an area that has a lot of business, but no restaurants unless you leave the area. So, these are things to consider. There is still no hot breakfast being offered there, which is a real drawback.
It was a great stay the staff was kind and helpful I plan to stay there every time we have to spend the night. The room was nice the shampoo and conditioner and body was was amazing made it even better.
This location has awesome and clean amenities, probably the friendliest and most helpful staff around, and they've got great restaurants near by. 5 out of 5 would stay again. The grab and go bags were super delicious too
Best westerns are fancy but if you are looking for a clean comfortable hotel this is a good option. There is a major road nearby but the noise wasn't bad. The rooms were very well maintained , and the staff was great. The bagCovid breakfast exceeded my expectation.
Staff was rude and unhelpful. Advertises breakfast which is frozen upon receipt. Uncomfortable beds and no hot water. To say this is the worst hotel experience I've ever had would be an understatement.
The worst part, the roof leaked after a snow storm, running water onto my briefcase, laptop, and wireless mouse. Luckily, only the mouse was ruined. All I got from the hotel manager and staff was "let's put you in another room"... no apology, no "let us replace that", nothing. Also, the my virus software warned me that the wifi was trying to infect my items. I.E. don't use the wifi!!
The lobby decor was south western stye which i thought was nice. Coffee was offered in the lobby 24/7. Breakfast was modified due to Covid, however they did not skimp on the goodies that were included.
I've been working fighting this fire in Fort Collins, Colorado and have stayed at the Kiva Inn for 3 weeks. They have been very accommodating and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Overall a very nice place
We had 4 rooms and enjoyed all three nights. The location was convenient. The employees were very helpful and friendly Evelyn and Katie!! And all of the desk staff that helped me get all these rooms together
After a busy day and before a long drive we chose a better than usual hotel, for us. We needed a good night's rest in a comfortable location. When we got there we were asked for either $100 cash deposit or a $100 charge on our credit card for a damage deposit. The $100 charge would be on our card for three days before being lifted. Okay we chose the cash since we had it. Three days playing with our money seemed a little out of line. We are used to leaving our card number as a deposit, just not an actual charge. The whole check in took a very, long time. We just wanted to get to our room. When we did get to our room it was somewhere around 55 degrees. Someone had really cranked the temp down. It was a cool night to begin with and even after shutting it off we soon got very cold. We eventually had to turn on the heater. I like to drink soda with ice while winding down. I went to get ice and the door was locked to the room, so I went back to get my key , which wouldn't work. I leaned over the upstairs balcony and asked the night clerk. The room is locked at 9 pm. It was after 9. She didn't say that there was ice downstairs, not helpful at all. On the nightstand in our room was a large doorstop, don't know why it was there, didn't hurt anything, just unusual. We stay at a lot of bargain hotels but I've never found a long black hair like there was in the tub in our room. We stated our problems with the temperature the next morning and asked for our deposit back as we were ready to hit the road for a 635 mile drive. Not until someone could check our room to make sure we hadn't damaged it. This place is beautiful and the rooms are really clean and (with noted exceptions} very nice. Just very disappointed we didn't get the experience we were wanting.
This BW is close to Odell Brewery, Downtown, and the Charcoal Broiler Restaurant. You will love the Downtown for all it's shops and local eateries. Odell Brewery is consistently ranked one of the best breweries in Colorado. The Charcoal Broiler is within walking distance from the Kiva Inn. This is a very handy motel.
First of all, it isn't too close to town and there is no view at all, just a busy highway. The AC worked well and it was quiet but breakfast grab and go bag was very sparse. Not bad for the money overall, but they need to spruce the place up as kit is already out of the way and customers will expect a bit more.
My husband was on a 3 week road trip. He called me & I set up hotel reservation for him along his route. If anything, 'anything' is wrong, I hear about it. So his. "It was fine." is high praise from him. You made his vacation a 10 with your hotel.
I traveled to Fort Collins for a celebration of life for a friend. I was told this was the place to stay and I couldn't agree more. I stayed in a jacuzzi room and honestly that was a good decision on my part! The jacuzzi was wonderful and I utilized it as much as possible! The bed was comfortable! The room was not huge but more than adequate for me. There were many amenities available in the room with a small frig, microwave, iron, etc. The tv was great with a lot of different channels to choose from! I watched a movie and some XFL football. I will be travelling to Fort Collins in May for a concert and I will be staying at the Best Western Kiva Inn again! Overall an excellent experience!
The check in and out process is smooth, thanks to friendly and efficient staff. The breakfast is varied enough to satisfy everyone and the rooms are comfortable and spacious enough. We had questions about the area, and the staff was helpful and friendly while providing us the info. Good value for area.
My 95 year old mother and I stayed just one night but will stay again next time we are in Ft. Collins. The staff was very considerate of my mother and every request we had. The building was clean. We chose this hotel at the last minute. Next time I'll make sure to bring my bathing suit to use the hot tub.
The staff was so diligent and caring, every detail was attended to! Absolutely loved the decor, sauna and hot tub, and the large and clean room. The breakfast was unparalleled in my experience. Totally exceeded our expectations!
I always enjoy staying at this Best Western. It is next to a fine restaurant, the Char Broiler. It is also in close proximity of our favorite brewery, Odells. I like the comfy feeling I get everytime we stay at this motel.
My stay was so peaceful. Breakfasts served promptly. Grounds and building were clean and staff among the most polite and professional I've ever encountered. Cost was very affordable. I have paid double for less in some of the other hotels. Thank all who work so hard to make stays peaceful, comfortable and pleasant.
Basic Southwest charm and good value. Excellent location near CSU, shopping ,Old Town, freeway and great restaurants. Staff is friendly and helpful. Good coffee at breakfast. Could use new pillows for the beds.
Great place! Not too far from downtown Ft Collins. Good food near by and entertainment. Staff was great! Room with a jetted tub was wonderful. This is a nice place for a get away from all of the hustle and bustle of a big city.
Nice room! Very roomy and clean! Guy at front desk was very professional and polite, think his name was Jason! $20 pet fee for 2 dogs.. Security deposit was little surprising, that was if you had pets or not. It was refunded after checkout. I had no problems with it. Potty area was little out of the way but it's better than most. Would definitely stay again.
We checked into this hotel about 7:30 pm. Check in was quick and easy. We were offered an upgraded room with a balcony but they were on the 2nd floor but we really wanted a ground floor room, luckily they had one available. Our room, #124 ($145), was clean and updated with a large bathroom and plenty of counterspace for all of our things. We had a microwave and fridge in the room. The room an interior entry and looked out over the parking lot. Restaurants are within walking distance. We didn't hear any traffic noise even though the interstate was nearby. There was plenty of parking and lots of electrical outlets. About the only negative thing about this room was the A/C, it was noisy but it wasn't the compressor, just the air coming out. Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, tater tots and ham - a better meal than most. I would stay here again if I'm in the area.
First I would like to say that I am not one to complain. This is my first review and first formal complaint and Im 51 years old. I checked into this hotel because I was in town to watch my son's hockey game. When I walked into the room it smelled like someone drenched the room in cheap perfume and chemicals. I had to leave for my son's hockey game so I opened the window to try and air it out before I returned. I returned 2 hours later, after having a chemical taste in my mouth and feeling sick and experiencing a dull headache. I decided while I was at the game, based on how I was feeling, that I would ask if they could move me to another room. When I went back to the hotel the front desk told me that they didn't have any other rooms to put me in and that they were completely booked. I said that I would try the room one more time but that I really didn't think I could stay in it. I went back to the room, couldn't handle the smell, my headache was worse and I was only in there for 10 minutes. I booked another hotel room at a different location. I went to leave and asked for a refund and they said NO. I couldn't believe it. Then the front desk person asked if I wanted him to call the manager I said yes, of course. I can't stay in that room and I booked one elsewhere. He called the manager, got off the phone and said we can't give you a refund, but we have another room for you. WHAT? So you flat out lied to me? I said I already booked another room because you told me you had NOTHING. I couldn't cancel the other room so I had to pay for two rooms on this night. Outright lies and robbery. On top of it all, the room had hair everywhere in the bed and the room overall felt dirty. I would not recommend staying here. Horrible customer service and worst hotel I have stayed in over the past 30 years, and I stay in a lot of hotels.
The property is located off of a busy frontage road and no atmosphere. The front desk staff and breakfast were pleasant but rooms and halls are tired and carpet in room felt damp. Our view was the parking lot and nearby trailers. In room air conditioner unit was one of the loudest I have experienced. We changed into our suits to use the indoor hot tub and arrived to see it was out of order. Not super close to the Ft. Collins campus as we expected. The pictures make it look so different!
Very nice property , convenient location, excellent amenities and great layout. Ground floor rooms open to terrace area and swimming pool. Very inviting, nice to lounge outside next to my room. Good value when staying in fort Collins.
If you stay here bring your earplugs and be prepared for extra deposit fee. Supposedly pet friendly but no good area to walk your dog. Daily fee for pets plus cleaning deposit. Beds are very hard. Neighborhood is very noisy and the rooms do not have good sound insulation.
My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Best Western Kiva Inn. The manager & her staff bent over backwards to help us with any problems that we had. At first the water was too cold to take a shower, but after I learned how to turn it to hor water, I used the shower with no problem. My husband fell flat on his face outside of the hotel & the manager took him to the emergency room at the hospital, then went back to pick him up. Her husband loaned me his cell phone to call friends and family. I tried using the phone in our room, but did not realize that after dialing 9, I had to put in 1 first. Afer that, there was no problem. Thank you to the Best Western Kiva Inn.
The most miserable night in years. Staff is unwilling to listen to any concerns about room conditions or assignment.I would never stay here again. I will not be using Best Western Rewards in the future: there's really no REWARD in using this Rewards program.
* Owners take pride in the hotel, have owned for a long time -- they do the absolute best they can with what it is * It is definitely a "budget" hotel, and totally fine, but don't expect more than a budget hotel (so all that comes with that -- loud window unit A/C, no elevator (2-story), doors that allow light through the bottom, small, thin towels... * There is a great put-putt/family fun park right across the street, so that is convenient With that said, hotels in the area can get very expensive, so if you are on a budget, and want to be close to CSU, this is a totally fine, safe, clean, friendly hotel.
Very Clean, Staff was very helpful and nice. Nice breakfast cold/hot food to choose from. Nice pool and hot tub. Would stay there again . We visit Rocky Mountain National Park while staying there was close only a 30 min to there and other things to see in the area. Was nice coming back to a relaxing area and clean room n nice outdoor patio to just sit and relax outside.
Hotel is on frontage road and entrance can be hard to see due totrucks and RV s parked in front. Every once in a while we got a whiff of something that smelled like sewer. Went away quickly but returned again. Breakfast area way too small for the number of guests. Very crowded.
Hotel was clean, staff was pleasant. I'll try to remember a bathing suit next time, as the pool is a nice amenity. I'd have liked tea bags in the room, not just coffee. Traffic was bad, so the distance to my conference was longer than expected, unfortunately.
I had no problems checking in and the room was very clean as was the whole property. The breakfast had a nice variety than others I have stayed with before. Would recommend and will consider Best Western for future stays.
The staff was very friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet was really wonderful with lots of options. Most of the room was clean and orderly but one of the pillow cases had makeup on one side of it and we wore no makeup.
While slightly out of the way Kiva is close enough to town or the highways to make it suitable for any adventure and without the high prices. I was in Ft Collins for a 3-day workshop and either walked or biked to/from town (about two miles that included .5 mile unpaved walkway via Link Rd to Lincoln, but entirely doable). PACE, local share bike/app needs serious work but once on a bike they are okay+ for commuting. There is also a bike/run trail into town within blocks; I just didn't get to it. A fellow attendee mentioned that Lyft rides are about $5-9 (before tip) to different downtown locations. Considering the $35-49 one-way bus ride (Groome) to/from Denver International and the ease of letting someone else drive, I can't imagine renting a car if Ft Collins is the sole destination. The complimentary breakfast is better looking and tasting than average although the potatoes and cold tortillas could use improvement. I would have liked whole milk, but 1% and 2% were available. The 24 hour coffee was surprisingly good and for me, a very early riser, entirely welcomed. I can't even tell you what the room coffee pod packages looked like. The staff was genuinely pleasant, polite, and eager to help out. The room was more than satisfactory, bedding was fine and the towels plush. There was a huge selection of channels for tv watchers and the wi-fi service was more than adequate. I'm not a great beer drinker but Ft. Collins has got to be Beer Heaven for those who are. I counted no fewer than 6 popular breweries within 1/4th to 1 mile, on three sides of the Kiva. Those were just in passing, biking around. 200' next door is a full restaurant (no connection to Kiva) with a varied menu. It was more than okay, but they don't seem to take well to singles (that's a narrow minded oversight). Downtown Ft Collins is blessed with really good restaurants and drinking establishments of all kinds. Of course there are people using cell phones and computers, but the overwhelming number of people were doing what humans do best- having great conversations with each other. I'm glad I witnessed some of what may become the revitalized norm. Overall, my stay at the Kiva was a perfectly good experience.
We enjoy the Kiva Inn because it is close to our favorite brewery, Odell's and a great little restaurant, The Charcoal Broiler. We don't have to face much traffic after traveling all day. You are still close to Old Town Ft. Collins and it's fine stores and restaurants, also.
I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always found it to be very clean and the staff is very helpful. The location is most convenient and the rates are a great value. I highly recommend this hotel!
Very nice hotel. Comfortable beds ,spacious room , well lit ,and quiet . We had a lovely patio outside our room. The hair products and moisturizer were nice quality. Complimentary breakfast had a nice variety to choose from and adequate seating. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
Quick, friendly service, everything was clean and well kept. Enjoyed being close to the busy downtown area and the interstate without the noise of the traffic. Easy to find, hot tub room was amazing. Will stay again.
The owner and the employees at this Best Western are some of the best we have encountered on our trips. Friendly, helpful and seem to care about you and your comfort. Also a fantastic steak house right next door..
Friendly staff and manager, secure building, nice lobby, easy access to spacious and very clean rooms. Awesome room rates! Only negative is the location, which I know they can't do anything about. It is super conveniently located just two miles from the CSU campus, but it's in a the middle of a very commercial/industrial area that features some sketchy buildings and people. I will be back.
Clerk in was fantastic for after midnight. Energetic and not the Check in was way above average for an after midnight check-in... not the txypical burn out night audit. Room was clean. Beds a bit Firm. Nice hotel and value. Will stay here again when passing through.
We stayed here on a weeknight while visiting CSU. Check in was easy and gentleman at front desk was polite and courteous. Room (2 queen) was large and clean. Bulk shampoo/cond/wash is a cool eco-friendly idea. Walls are a bit thin, but we easily overrode the neighbor's TV by running our fan. We would stay here again.
This place is about 1.5-2.0 miles from breweries and downtown action. It was quiet and not very full for a friday night. The restaurant next door was good. We used lyft sucessfully to the breweries. And they take pets!
Facility and rooms are clean. Other than the minor hiccups, squeaky tub, fridge hanging up on floor, trying to keep the room at a good temperature. Front lobby fire place I guess is for looks. Never once on while I stayed. Other than this I slept great well rested. Front desk very friendly and attentive.
I stayed 1 night while in Colorado for a get away. The Kiva Best Western is a very nice hotel, comfortable and clean. I like that there was a side entrance that was convenient to my room and I did not have to haul my luggage through th lobby.
The room was very nice, well stocked and clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Heating was easy to set and was comfortable right away. Staff was very friendly. Internet and cable worked great. Breakfast was vey appealing.
Stayed here for CSU Parents Weekend, so the rates were a bit higher than normal. Hotel is right off one of the main routes from the interstate to the CSU campus, so that is helpful, and only about 1.5 miles east of campus/downtown Ft Collins. Hotel rooms were clean. Staff was very friendly. Decent complimentary breakfast. Beds were very comfortable, and included something that all hotels should -- pillows of varying firmness. Would definitely stay here again.
We had a great experience. The sheets were clean & cozy, and the room was very clean. I loved the decorations in the lobby. The shampoo and conditioner provided was high quality and smelled great! Breakfast was good, and I liked how they had "warm" food options like eggs, & breakfast sausage. I would definitely come again.
It was a very good experience at the Checkin - rooms were very nice and clean. Also very quiet and we had a good night sleep there. Not sure about the decoration in the lobby - is it Australian or African themed ?! Breakfast was very good - my only complain is that the area is far too small for the guests - not a lot of privacy.
This is a good place to stay - quiet and comfortable. I had to chuckle the first night when I pulled back the sheets to get in bed- near the foot of the bed was a long black hair, just like so many others have mentioned. There must be a housekeeper with long black hair... As for the ADA room - I need a roll in shower because I have bad knees and cannot step into a tub to shower. This one had a small ramp, which meant that water ran down it to the floor, but it was pretty minor compared to other hotels. The shower has a chair. The mattress and box springs are in the floor, and this meant it was very hard for me to get out of the bed. The desk chair was also too low for me, so I was unable to work in my room. Breakfast area chairs are also very low. ADA parking for my room was behind the hotel, but the clerk did not let me know that. The front ADA parking is very inconvenient for where my room was located. Check in and check out were great due to the excellent staff. Breakfast was better than most. Hot food was eggs, sausage links, tater tots and gravy. Biscuits and cinnamon rolls were baked locally, so they were much better than other places.
We stayed here for one night while traveling through the Ft Collins area. The hotel was comfortable and just what we were looking for. Dependable accommodations, moderately priced. Be aware that there is no elevator, so if you have a second floor room you must go up and down the stairs.
Clean and modern hotel (great lobby !) with super friendly staff and the best continental breakfast i've Had in a long time. $6 Uber to New Belgium and O'dell and a quick walk to Funkwerks. We had a great stay at BW Kiva!!
The building, grounds, and staff . . . especially the staff were 5 star +. The pool was great. Clean, well stocked, with an inviting layout. Even the water temp was perfect in mid September. But, our room had a funky odor to it. We didn't complain, we just kind of became used to it and let it slide. We paid extra for a double king suite for a third bed . . . a hide-a-bed which was totally unusable. We knew it was going to be a hide-a-bed but this sagged deeply at the head, mattress was flattened and could not compensate for the springs and bars. This bed wasn't fit for little kids let alone grown men. I really wanted to like this place and would absolutely try it again . . . different room without the stink, and keep it simpler with just two beds.
Our "Pet Friendly" room was spotless - could not have been cleaner. We were extremely pleased. They have rule that you can't leave your pet unattended in the room which curtailed our plans for going out to dinner, but we were able to make other arrangements. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will consider this location the next time we visit Ft Collins.
The hotel is very clean and nice. The lobby is decorated nicely. The staff was friendly and helpful The rooms were comfortable with nice beds. They do have breakfast in the mornings. An added plus they have a great steakhouse right next to the hotel.
Excellent staff and owners. Very genuine people who went out of the way to help. We went for family trip and found an extended family home at Best Western. We will not want to stay anywhere else than Best Western.
Highly recommend this best western location! This was our favfavor hotel of the trip, we stayed at 5 hotels and 3 were best westerns. This is a newer hotel and everything was excellent. Very clean! The only issue we possibly had was we came down for breakfast 20 minutes before they closed. The items were very low, I asked the breakfast attendant for a couple more items and she was very nice and took care of us, partially restocking the breakfast bar. Again this was the best hotel we stayed at and if it had been closer to boulder or denver we would have stayed here again. I was about to drive 50 miles out of the way just to stay here again. Highly recommended!!!
We are traveling with a group. We were told the points would go to the person who made the group reservation. I put the cost of this $147 room on my card and had the room put in my name. We were told we had to call the rewards number to get it changed so we who are paying for the room get the points. I called them and they claimed it cant be done by them. It is the discernment of the hotel management. The management says otherwise. Talk about a run around. Also, I'm a rewards member and they put a $100 charge on my credit card that will be refunded when we check out. Of course this deposit money is pulled from my account and will take up to 3 days to refund. What kind of crap is this? I have never in all my travels had to do this. I am not impressed with this Best Western and will never give them my business again.
We needed a quick place to stay. It was late and just needed a place to stay. the hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. the drawback was there was no elevator. Breakfast food was good. It would help to have a little more space, but it was still good.
Super clean rooms. They gave us a room next to the pool since that was the reason for our trip. Amazing staff. Free breakfast. Pool is clean and huge. The towels smell so clean. The hospitality is unreal!!!
I would recommend staying elsewhere. The whole place is in dire need of updating. The area is a sketchy looking industrial area. Breakfast was adequate. It wasn't the worst place in the world, but I wouldn't stay there again. It is way over priced for what you get.
The Kiva Inn is our new go to place in Fort Collins. Our favorite part is when we get a room with a jet tub in it. Very nice and relaxing. The rooms our always very clean as is the rest of the motel. A great place to stay!
Came in late after a day on the river. Check in was easy. Friendly front desk associate. Room was close. It was clean. Lights and everyone worked as expected as did tv etc. All good. Would return if in the area again.
Great location for downtown nightlife. Only about 6 minutes away. Also near several microbreweries. Horestooth reservoir close by. Also Lory State park just about 20 minutes away. Great for hiking and picnics
Best Western Kiva is a decent place to stay if you're looking for value. It was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good, although they ran out of some of the food. To be fair, it was packed, so it was probably harder to keep up with it all.
Pros: Clean, comfortable, well tended, good breakfast, nice amenities, excellent staff, allows dogs, family friendly. Cons: not much, so these are just nitpicks; pool had some debris in it, but the water was clear and clean; my toilet seat wasn't secured, so it rocked around a bit. Really not much to fuss about. Will stay again if passing through.
We always stay at the Kiva when we can. The hot tubs and pool are enjoyable. The rooms are always comfortable. We are close to the Odell Brewery which should be on anyone's list to see and sample. Also as you drive West on Mulberry you will encounter Old Town with its many shops and fine restaurants. Enjoy Ft. Collins!
This hotel looks nice in pictures, but it's like a glorified Motel 6 woth a new paint job. Our balcony door didn't seal so it was drafty and noisy all night (facing Mulberry), the bed was like a rock, the shower felt like someone was angrily spitting on me. I had booked the room for 2 nights and cancelled my 2nd night.
We stayed here on a recent trip to attend our daughter's graduation. The room was very clean and comfortable. They allow pets which was helpful since we were traveling with our senior dog. Breakfast was good with many choices and something for everyone. Would definitely stay here again in the future.
This hotel is clean and friendly. That's about it. I'm not sure if it was the room, or the people above me, but I could hear their every step and every time water was ran, including the toilet. I was traveling with a dog, and it is awkward for pet owners. The pet rooms are not the ones shown in pictures. On the web sight they show pet friendly rooms with private doors from the room that go to the grassy area. Pet rooms are actually on the other side of the hotel. You still have to walk through the hotel hall to get outside, then walk across the parking lot to the other side of the hotel to reach the grass area. its ok for a leisurely stroll, but not so good for late night potty stops. They also put a $100 hold on a credit card for 2 days as a deposit.
Best location we have visited in the last few years. The staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. Breakfast was hot and on time. Parking was convenient to room location which was helpful as w are both disabled.
This hotel is not close to the CSU campus or the downtown area, which can be a good thing if you are just traveling through. It is also not close to a lot of restaurants but is right next door to a great classic steak house, the Charco Broiler, which I have eaten at years ago. The area is pretty industrial with some mobile home parks. This is an older hotel that has been really nicely redone. The downside is that it doesn't have an elevator so if you want a second story room you need to haul your luggage up a set of stairs. I went into town to see how the campus had changed in the years since I graduated and found my old dorm is now the location of a parking lot. Oh well.
Adequate accommodations but I think overrated on T.A. Bed OK, pillows could be better. Room has refrig. & micro. Cleanliness of room for 4 nights satisfactory. Towels could be better and more of them. You can request additional. Some guests seem to be long term, Kiva Inn has several different room types. Met some that had a BBQ and cooler and enjoyed their company. Working people, so no late nights, Mostly quiet surrounded by a restaurant, Hwy 14, industrial park and trailer park. Thus you are not here for the view. Need to drive to downtown. Comp. breakfast acceptable, staff enjoyable.
Reason for visit not the most pleasant - evaluation of dog at CSU Vet School/Hospital for cancer treatment. Vagaries of treatment meant changing dates of stay, more than once. Staff very accommodating and understanding of need to make changes. Also, we do not typically travel with dog - room was well set up for that (end of hall, negligible carpet), which made things easier. They even have poop bags/bin for disposal in the yard. Hotel also has a variety of different types of rooms - standard, with small covered patio, etc. Very nice breakfast. Cheaper than "in town," but easy access into town.
The Best Western Staff were very friendly, and helpful. I love the Kiva style building. It was Affordable and close to Ft. Collins Downtown. Easy to find and get around Ft. Collins. Thank you very much. I would stay here again. :) #1
We lived in Fort Collins for many years and are very familiar with the city and the lodging options and we stay (and will continue to stay) at the Kiva every time. The exterior of the property, as well as the common areas (breakfast area, hot tub / sauna, gym) are always clean and well maintained. This property also has a very nice outdoor pool and sitting area to take advantage of in the summer. Check in went smoothly. We always get a spa room and were assigned to Room 121. Upon entry to our room we realized that our room has (what we call) the “giant egg” spa tub. We prefer the other style of tub that they offer and requested to be moved to Room 123 and the girls at the front desk immediately switched us. NOTE: this move was simply due to personal preference. The hotel has to styles of spa tubs. The “giant egg” is bigger and does not have a bench. It has a lot of jets and takes longer to fill up. We prefer the regular style, the smaller tub with the bench. No matter which style you end up with, rest assured that the tubs are nice and always work properly. Breakfast this particular weekend was the best we've had during all our stays at the Kiva. The food is the standard fare of waffles, eggs, sausage, etc. but everything was really fresh, the breakfast attendant did a great job. Location of the property is great. Close to the interstate but if you take Link Ln to Lincoln you can be in Old Town within minutes. The Charco Broiler restaurant is right next door and there are other dining options close by. A special thanks to Alma and Katie who were great all weekend. As this was a spur of the moment trip we had forgotten our toiletry bag and the girls made sure we had toothbrushes and toothpaste. They gave us plates and silverware to eat our takeout, and as mentioned above, they were great about getting our roomed switched. My wife felt bad going to the desk multiple times for the different request but both girls at different times responded with, “that's what we're here for!” Thanks Kiva! We'll see you again soon!
I needed to treat myself to comfortable, restful lodgings for a busy 2 days in Ft Collins. My room at the Kiva provided just that, and convenience to wherever I needed to go. I slept so well I wanted to bring the mattress home with me. Nice breakfast bar, and free cookies at mid-day. Only drawback was no elevator - which made it difficult hauling luggage to my 2nd floor room. The management said it is being considered.
This was a freat hotel. The service was fast and friendly. The room was clean, and there was free internet. Breakfast options were fine but nothing special. The staff was very friendly. I would stay at this hotel again.
A good "no nonsense" hotel. It is about a mile and a half off the interstate so the location was quiet. Since it was a one-night stay on our way to Utah, we did not take advantage of many of the amenities provided but our room was comfortable and clean. The bed was reasonable and we enjoyed a nice quiet breakfast the next morning. We would recommend and would stay again. The only complaint was that the water came out of the shower head like a bullet. We couldn't get it to change but a simple adjustment was probably all that it needed.
We stayed 9days and every staff member were clean friendly and very helpful they were also very kind and respectful to our needs having just lost our son and his funeral they also were very helpful checking in on my wife after she had surgery the rooms were great very clean and the free breakfast was great they actually have hot food sausage eggs biscuit and gravy top quality service
Slept well and found the room to be very clean. Some noise from the road outside and others slamming doors in the early morning but we weren't too bothered. Breakfast was good. Vending machines only take cash or change. Heater was a bit noisy but we were so tired it didn't matter. We'll be back instead of paying double closer to the college.
Stayed for 2 nights for business, now spending 3 more. Location is good for working on this side of town. Breakfast was good, room had a Jacuzzi which relieved a lot of tension. Room was fairly quiet considering facing roadside.
Manager couldn't be bothered to nor wanted to help when there were billing issues with several customers. When contacted, she was standoffish and placed blame. Refused to help customers. The conversation was so strained I finally gave up.
I thought I would book my mother a hotel room and schedule a brewery tour for her and some friends as a Christmas gift this year, WORST IDEA EVER. Staying in contact with this hotels' "email only staff" for the correct forms was a nightmare. Very deceitful with prices. They would not allow my mother to check in when she arrived, so she had to drive home. The best part is they charged me anyways days after the check in date when she didn't even stay or have possession of the keys. FIND A DIFFERENT HOTEL!!!!!!!!!
The Motel was very clean and well kept, nicely laid out. My room was quiet and very clean. Breakfast was just fine with fresh eggs and muffins, cereal, waffles, yogurt, juices, coffee. Other guests seemed well behaved and the location was not too far of the highway and not far from downtown Fort Collins. I recommend this motel about as much as any I have ever stayed. The frontage road egress to the west is little bit of a pain to leave, so go east to return to the Highway.
This was a nice hotel. It was clean, comfortable, and the breakfast was good. We were just staying the night as we were passing through. As far as this Best Western it is one of the top for the ones that I have stayed at.
I always stay at Best Western - always get a nice room, never have any problem issues, friendly staff, excellent service, always very clean, excellent value, outstanding rewards program. The included breakfast is always excellent.
Again this year we stayed at the BW Kiva Inn on our way south from Montana to Texas for the Christmas Holidays. The night Manager/Supervisor, Kaz, was very welcoming and professional. The room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast area was clean and comfortable but needed a little more attention to re-supplying the food product as eggs ran out and some had to wait. The pastry selection was limited and a couple were rather dry. A guest coming at the end of the breakfast service time frame should see and have available that which is offered to the first to arrive at the start of the service. Improvement of these point would have garnered an "excellent" rating.
We sometimes like to visit Fort Collins for medical purposes along dining and shopping opportunities but lodging is usually over priced. The Best Western Kiva Inn was very reasonable and pretty nice accommodations. We had dinner at the Charco Broiler just a stones throw a way which was excellent as well.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights of the long Thanksgiving weekend. Spacious room, good mattress & linens, good heat/AC (we used both due to a sudden heatwave!). One of the best small hotel breakfasts we've had yet: many delicious choices, kept clean & well-stocked, and a cheery environment looking at the attractive southwest decor lobby. Just gotta love the huge lizard wall sculptures! Will definitely stay here again!
We came in very late as our flight was delayed, Staff was extremely helpful. Room was clean and stocked. Hotel was very comfortable. Beds and Pillows need to be upgraded as they are very/extremely too firm. Internet was very SLOW and Week signal. We stayed in 3rd room beside office. Breakfast would be better with different waffle batter, the current has a chemical/bitter/fake taste. switching the muffins and some of the stale bakery items with potatoes, hot and ready Oatmeal and grits (not prepackaged) would offer low cost options to the selection that many would prefer and would be a great incentive to choose The Best Western Kiva. Over all the stay was great, would like to see these items added and or adjusted.
Very close to family friendly activities. Close to downtown. Excellent breakfast. Great parking and very convenient to stay off the interstate 25. I will definitely return and stay there with my family and friends
By far the cleanest, quietest, nicest place in Ft Collins. Good location. Real food for breakfast. Waffles, orange juice, eggs, and meat. The staff is amazing. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly. The fitness room is clean and easy to use. Even a nice hot tub and sauna after your workout. Very nice.
I've tried a couple of times to stay closer to the CSU campus but everything has been booked/pricey. The Best Western Kiva is great - less expensive, great location, easy access to both the highway and old town. The location is a bit industrial but perfectly fine. I've stayed here twice and I don't think I'd bother looking at other properties next time.
My second stay at this hotel and it was just as exceptional as my first! My friends booked rooms at a different hotel and we were terribly disappointed! I suggested the Kiva and they were somewhat reluctant but I swayed them to give it a try. As always very friendly staff! The rooms were impeccably clean and breakfast was good. We had a great dinner next door at the CharBroiler along with cocktails, so convenient as it was right next door and walking distance. We enjoyed the hot tub and the sauna and I truly missed the nice outdoor pool I enjoyed in July. I highly recommend this place! Thank You and I'll be back! ??
The staff was friendly and courteous. But I am Most Grateful as they found my credit card that I lost in the room and called me after I checked out and just before I left for the DEN airport. This was a gratifying experinece for me and such a relief to know they went out of their way in a very prompt manner to notify me.
I have stayed in a lot of hotels and this place was average for me, it did take a long time for the hot water to reach my room in the afternoon but in the morning I had no problem. nice hot tub an sauna that I used. but the breakfast was just par for me.
Clean and beautiful- easy access to the business areas of Ft.Collins. In-room coffee and teas. A dynamite full American breakfast buffet included in the mornings. This hotel is definitely a keeper! Polite and friendly help. A great place for a great value.
Good breakfast, friendly staff, nice rooms. My bed wasn't very comfortable but I might have got the room with the worst bed. Stinky hallways but quiet environment. Wish the pool had been open. Might stay here again next time
We have stayed at a number of hotels in Ft Collins the past 5 summers on our way to Montana. This was our first time at Best Western Kiva it won't be our last. Clean and inviting. Very friendly reception. The lobby is beautiful, parking is a bit limited, but the room was spotless & comfortable bed. Breakfast has the normal hotel fare, but was very well stocked and clean.
Have stayed at the Kiva numerous times since a daughter moved to Ft. C. in 2010. It is not opulent or fancy, but I find it uniformly clean, quiet, welcoming, comfortable and a good value for the money. A recent renovation renewed the beds and general room decor nicely. The daily breakfast bar is a hit with me - multiple choices, both cold and hot, and a nice little setting to eat in. It's not in the heart of town, but this is not a big city and thus location has never been a problem. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when in Ft. Collins.
When I got to this hotel I just got done staying at a terrible hotel that did nothing to make me feel at home or even make me feel acknowledged I was there. When I got here the front desk made me feel like I was a king. They answered all of my questions and made me feel like was actually living in Fort Collins. Couldn't have been happier staying here
I checked in on my phone a few miles away and also spoke with the gal at the frront desk. When I walked in the door she called me by name! All I wanted to do was just watch tv and get away from home. I didn't wake up to the vacuum cleaner at my door. They let me sleep in.
Great stay, comfortable double king room. We would definitely stay again as it is a really nice hotel and close to old town and activities. We make an annual guys trop to Ft. Collins. This was the first we stayed in this hotel, but we will be back.
The front desk was amazing. Bed was comfortable and the room was nice. I live in hotels 8 months a year so for me to give a good review is special. Everyone was friendly and full of smiles. I will say this is a great place to stay.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is laid out in a way where parking is convenient in relation to the rooms. The option to be able to have our dog with us for a minimal charge of $15 was nice too.
Came into town for a college football game. We have stayed at this hotel before and always have good service. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and good value. Close to CSU campus. Will stay here again!
The room was clean and quite and easy to get too. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Very good breakfast with a lot of variety. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were able to let us check in an hour early. One small problem was the clock by the bed didn't work.
Last minute reservation due to family in the hospital. This was the closest place to the hospital so I took a chance. Very friendly staff and the room was wonderful. Clean and beautiful furnishings. Made the situation easier to deal with.
I will give this place a very high ten for cleanliness and outstanding customer service at the front desk. The breakfast they serve was just outstanding everything was kept full at all times and the area for the customers was always clean. "CLEANLINESS WAS OUTSTANDING".
Great amenities: breakfast, internet, clean rooms, friendly staff. We stayed for a long weekend for CSU's Family Weekend and Homecoming Activities. We will definitely book this hotel for future visits!!
As my husband had a early surgery appt. we decided to stay overnight prior. After looking this was the one that fit us best. Booked online and was given one price, when my confirmation was emailed to me,I noticed that I had booked the wrong night, so called directly to the hotel to change my reservation. Was given a different price, when I questioned they told me that their prices change every day. Wierd. There is no elevator so I requested a first floor room. Was given one very close to the side entrance . The room was very spacious, even with a sofa that I am sure opened to a bed if necessary. Bed and bath linens nice. Had soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion on wall mounted, I am not a fan, but realize it is a cost saving method. I travel with my own so was not a problem for me. Bath room was nice size and well appointed. Microwave and fridge, coffee service TV and internet also. Clean and the front staff friendly and helpful. Free breakfast, but can not review as we did not partake.
I have never rated a hotel this low in my many years of travel. Repeated calls to the front desk (the last at 2:30AM) had no impact on the occupants of the room above us. In addition the property has a cockroach infestation issue. Management did nothing!!
This was a very friendly and caring staff. They were attentive and helpful to our needs. The room was nice and well kept. Only drawback was the air/heat unit. Either it was on or off no inbetween. Would recommend this location.
Great hotel. Very clean. Close to highway, easy to find. Friendly staff. Close to shopping and CSU. Breakfast smelled wonderful, but had to get on the road, so didn't try any:-) We went to a concert while in Fort Collins & the hotel was just down the road from the venue, very helpful.
I required a room close to an exit. The knees don't work as well as they used to. They have me one and it was very quiet and clean. The only downside would be, if you are under 5' tall, the bed is a challenge. Didn't quite make it to breakfast. Slept in and had lunch next door at CharcoBroiler. All in all it was a comfortable room (bed included).
Should have been told upon making reservations that no elevator is available. Hard for seniors, especially with disabilities. Carpets need to be cleaned, Rooms really need to be updated. This is a $69 night hotel to say the least.
Everything was pretty much standard BW. However, I cannot recall ever staying in a hotel room with a dirtier, more worn carpet than this one had. Otherwise everything OK. Breakfast, standard motel fare.
I usually look for a Best Western Plus but since Ft. Collins does not have one, we stayed here. Really liked the outside architecture on lobby decor. Room was average w a few minor defects. Breakfast was ok. No elevator to 2nd floor and it is pet friendly so we asked for a non pet room. I hate to point this out because the couple at front desk were friendly. But they had a guy checking us in that seemed not to be fitted for the job. He was sweatty, w old work clothes , lots of tatoos and struggled w the check in process. May want to work on that to get a better overall impression.
I would NEVER stay in this hotel again. The hotel cancelled one day of two days of our reservations. After we left, one of the hotel employees call my cell phone and told me that they found another reservation for us and they would have to cancel the room if we did not update my expired credit card. I did not call and update the card. The hotel employee found my new expiration date and charged me for a room. Shady dealings at this hotel.
Had double queen beds for 3 people. Room is clean. Towels are clean. Free internet. Price is decently affordable w/ membership. Online reservation is easy and fast. Friendly staffs. Best of all, free breakfast.
Hotel lobby was nicely decorated. Pool was clean and well taken care of. Hot tub was nice. Breakfast was average. Restaurant next door has amazing food. I would say for the price we paid it was good and would return. The only thing we didn't like was the room had a very bad smell even after being cleaned so we bought Lysol to get rid of the smell and our socks would turn black walking on the floor other than that beds were good and bathrooms were clean.
The hotel itself is pretty nice, but the rooms I received were not clean. The first room was filthy: un-flushed toilet, pubic & head hair everywhere, dirty carpet. I requested a different room and the second room was definitely cleaner, but the carpet wasn't vacuumed and there was trash under the bed and behind the desk. Staff didn't even apologize about the unclean room when moving me to another room. I will never stay here again. I am a BW member and this particular hotel shamed the name.
We were visiting Ft Collins, not knowing about Tour De Fat. The front desk was super helpful when we had forgotten under which name we'd placed our reservation. When we had called earlier in the day and they'd been unable to find our reservation, the gentleman we spoke to unbeknownst to us held a room for us just in case we didn't have a reservation. This hotel was clean, convenient, and served a good variety for breakfast, including offering a non dairy milk for cereal/coffee creamer. Close to downtown, and convenient to Wal mart, local restaurants, etc. Will definitely stay here again!
Awesome property, even better staff!! We were attending a stadium opener, and had 3 rooms. The rooms were very clean, the breakfast was great, and the staff really went out of their way to assist us with our homecoming!!
We travel into Ft Collins To visit our son at CSU. This hotel is very comfortable for us because its on Mulberry Street which is great access to school and Old Town. The restaurant next door is always packed and great for our family dinner. There is also a Spoons deli one block away for fresh healthy lunch stuff. And don't forget the liquor store near Spoons too!
Really sorry to see you gouge on prices. A number of other hotel chains said lets not gouge our customers - leaves a bad taste in their mouths. Evidently, this is not the case with you. We liked the staff. they were helpful and courteous. Franchise itself was greedy. We won't utilize this location again and ore reconsidering Best Western chain how about you?
I didn't use many of the amenities, but saw a fitness room and outdoor pool. They looked nice. The Kiva fireplace in lobby was very cool. Beds and bedding were very comfortable. It was quiet there and I slept well. The coffee was pretty good and I was pleased to see yogurt and fresh fruit. There were waffles, too! The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. That goes a long way to making the entire experience wonderful.
Nice place! Outdoor pool was fabulous! The hot tub was small but highly effective! The only bad part of the stay was that there was a couple there that said they were homeless and had been staying there for three months. The girl was obviously on drugs. She was packing and unpacking a truck most of the night. I found it quite disturbing but she was outside smoking with the clerk and the clerk saw what she was doing and it continued. This may drive away good paying customers.
Amazing staff and hotel, it made my trip that much better. Bed was awesome and room immaculate, can't wait to go back. Thanks BW Kiva! I can go on about all the things I enjoyed here at my stay including location to all the breweries but I'll just say you won't be disappointed.
Motel, was very clean, comfortable was a little ways out of town but not bad. Price was one of the highest for best western . Would recommend for someone to stay. Large room and beds were very comfortable
The hotel is older but kept up nicely, yet we felt it was over-priced compared to other hotels. Personally we do not like having to put a $50 deposit down before checking in. The staff who took our reservation was inadequately trained as we had to remind her 3 times it was for 2 nights. The appearance of the check-in clerk left a lot to be desired. The breakfast staff did not extend a welcoming feel to guests.
I had a business trip in Fort Collins that my wife was coming along with. We wanted a nice place relatively close to downtown at a reasonable price so she could play while I worked. The area around the hotel may not seem like much but the hotel is a gem. Clean and secure with friendly staff and nice rooms. The breakfast was pretty good to start the day with. We enjoyed our stay.
The stay was very nice. Easy to find with my GPS, right Next door i ate dinner and breakfast at this fabulous place Charco Broiler restaurant was amazing. I would stay here again to eat at this wonderful place.
This BW is very convenient to the freeway and not too far from city restaurants and shopping. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the price was OK. Fort Collins is a bit pricey anyway, though there seems to be no reason for that.
I belong to the BW rewards program, so got a very good rate on this hotel. I had looked on some site online that said there was an elevator, so I didn't bother to request a ground floor room even though I have trouble with stairs. When it turned out the hotel did not have an elevator, the front desk kindly changed my room to one on the first floor. Small negatives, I was in the front and there was some traffic noise, although not enough to keep me awake. And while the breakfast was good, the breakfast space was a little small and crowded. My favorite thing is a little odd - the toilets flush very quietly so that you can use them at all hours without worrying about waking your neighbors (ok, I told you it was odd). All in all, a nice place and I would be happy to stay again.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Even though it is on a busy street the rooms were quiet. we went to old town for dinner and it was a fun experience. The hotel was easy to find and met all of our expectations. Would stay again.
Our room was comfortable and we liked that it's close to downtown and the CSU campus. We got a room with a jet tub and it was huge, just what we were looking for. They have a nice pool and both indoor and outdoor hot tub, though the outdoor one was not available when we visited. They had a decent breakfast. We were also impressed that they had soap dispensers in the room (sink and shower), which reduces the waste of all those plastic bottles. Overall a good value, we would stay here again.
This was a nice hotel that was closest to our destination for the next few days (we stayed 3 nights because of this). Was surprised to find that each of the 3 nights had a different price (Fri-Sat-Sun). I can understand this if staying for one night, but thought it was odd that for the same room, I had to pay a different price each night (starting with a high price on Friday and ending with a reasonable price on Sunday night). I was told that BW decides the price, not the proprietor? Had some minor issues with housekeeping (took our washcloths and didn't replace them). The excercise room was nice, but hot (was sweating profusely within minutes!) Good breakfast. Nice restaurant next door that was very convenient.
The value was there for the payment made. The room was clean and equipped as listed. Most of the time the breakfasts in this type of hotel leave a little to be desired buy this one was very adequate. The staff was friendly and helpful.
We were looking for a hotel near old town and this came up as one of the cheaper options. It is certainly more than walking distance but you can avoid the main city traffic and it's a very quick drive. Check in was easy, staff was nice, rooms were clean. TVs were good- it rained and we ended up watching movies from an impressive free TV selection. Will definitely come again.
We have been making this trip for many years. For the past 4 or 5 years (at least), we've been coming to the Kiva Inn. They are very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast is decent. Beds are nice, pillow-top mattresses, but were a little "tall" for this short person! Access to local attractions and I-25 is EXCELLENT. It's a little hard to see when you first get to town if you don't have a GPS, but once you get past that, it's really easy to get in and out of! Plenty of parking, because there's also parking around back. We'll go back!
We enjoyed the convenience of the hotel location to hikes and Old Town Fort Collins restaurants and shops while not being in the middle of a busy tourist area. Rooms were clean, service was great and breakfast was very convenient with pretty good choices. We even used the pool to cool off after our hikes.
Nice place to stay and excellent breakfast. The rooms were clean and nice. The free breakfast was much different from what I'm use to seeing. Biscuits and gravy, sausage, and eggs. I would stay again if in the area.
We spent 5 days here while attending a family reunion in Fort Collins. The rooms are nice and clean, breakfast is included and has lots of items to choose from and the staff was courteous and accommodating. The only complaint would be that it's right across from a noisy highway but with the fan running all night this wasn't a problem.
This hotel is noticeably older but well maintained. Pool and hot tub are nice, fitness center is very small. Rooms are spacious and clean with micro and fridge. There was a noticeable musty smell on entry to the room due to the old A/C units. If they upgrade the HVAC I would rate the rooms and value at very good.
Nice location, easy to get to. Room was nice and clean, very quiet area. Some rooms have balconies. Swimming pool looked very inviting!! Within walking distance of a great restaurant. Great place. I recommend!!!
The hotel was a welcome sight after a long ride. Bed was comfortable, location quiet for a restful night, hot tub was perfect, breakfast was plentiful and good variety with the staff friendly. Will look to stop here when in the area next time.
Although we only there for a short period of time, everything was clean and the staff was very friendly. The rooms were comfortable and the internet service was great. The breakfast had a nice variety and was well maintained.
I stayed with a group so don't know what the cost of my room was. My room had a fridge, microwave, AC, coffeemaker, hair dryer, iron/ironing board. Bed was too hard for my taste. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was average for this type of hotel. One restaurant next door that we did not visit. Immediate area is industrial/business that are not tourist/traveler oriented. Hotel here seems out of place. Not near downtown but close to I25. No elevator to second floor so consider that when booking. I believe they had a pool.
Nice place. Would have been nice if I couldn't hear people walking above me. Otherwise very nice! Enjoyed the breakfast. Lobby was nice. Had 3 Windows in our room. The fridge was wobbly. Wish the bathroom was a little bigger. Enjoyed the stay!
excellent stay at hotel ....room was very quite ....altho we had a ditrubance on our 3 rd night fom the room next door at 2330 hrs .....spoke with duty Manager and her resolved the matter straight away.....breakfast is good ...hotel staff very helpful....hotel Is quite ...room was very clean .....Internet was fast ...so a Great Choice for us
Recently visited Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota. During our eight days on the road this was by far the best facility we stayed at. Warmly greeted on arrival. Offered one of their carts to transfer our belongings. Good sized room, comfortable beds, good internet connection, fridge and microwave. One thing I really appreciated was their use of wall dispensers for hand and body soap, and dispensers in shower for shampoo, conditioner and soap. These save so much waste. Instead of using part of a bar of soap or bottle of shampoo or conditioner and leaving the rest to get thrown out you only use what you need. I noticed another reviewer thought that was cheap of them and I did notice there were two bars of soap and a container of Pantene shampoo available if you wished, so not sure where that complaint came from unless they just started having those other items available. By the way, shower was great. Breakfast was very good with hot items. Scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and biscuits and gravy. Also plenty of other choices as well as fresh fruit. Recommended restaurant, Charco Grill was right across parking lot and was also good. Had a stout beer, sad panda I believe it was called that was excellent. There is an outside pool that we didn't use and an indoor hot tub that we enjoyed very much. Also has a sauna and exercise room that we might try next time. Very peaceful and quiet. Got an excellent night's sleep. Just a terrific all around experience.
Beautifully decorated property. Planning to visit Colorado State which is less than 4 miles away so place was nicely located. Clean, well-maintained, and had a great breakfast of the usual BW fare: freshly made waffles, cereals, eggs(hardboiled eggs and scrambled), yogurt, juice, and coffee. Has a small gym and hot tub on site. Tub creaks (?) but no biggie for me.What really impressed me was the beautifully decorated lobby and breakfast area. Great job BW!
Perfect location and wonderful staff ALWAYS make my stay in Fort Collins much more enjoyable. Bilingual staff are attentive to all of your needs! Plenty of off street parking and sense of security day and night.
The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. I appreciate the great customer service. The rooms were decent, beds are not very comfortable. Given it was a short trip, it worked and for the price, wasn't a bad value. I would probably stay again.
This motel is listed as one of the motels in Front Range Brain & Spine Center that gives people from out of town discount rates for having surgery. I signed a paper saying I had no pets and it had the discounted price I was to pay upon check out. I went to surgery the following morning at Fort Collins Surgery Center ( who contacted the motel to verify I was in town to have surgery) My husband went to check us out and they suddenly did not have the paper I signed agreeing to the price. They charged him full price! The Surgery Center even called the manager while I was in recovery regarding this matter because the manager was rude to my husband. The Manager Hermma was also rude to them and refused to do the right thing and charge me at the discounted price. I am pleased that the people at the surgery center will be taking this motel off all pamphlets for referrals. The manger replied to the complaint I made to the corporate office saying that when rooms are full they no longer give discount rates and that I had to be having surgery at Poudre Valley Hospital to get that discounted rate. I stayed at this motel 2 weeks prior for a doctors appointment and got a discounted rate. I have the statement showing the discount and never went to that hospital on those dates.
This hotel was an unexpected surprise! The lobby was brightly light, clean and the staff was very friendly. The room that we stayed in was well maintained and clean. The breakfast was the standard hotel breakfast but everyone working there was so polite and appreciative. I can't say how pleased I am overall with this hotel, it was definitely the place to stay!
Very cordial, very appreciative of you as a customer, rooms are spacious and comfortable. I love the diabetic friendly breakfast that is offered! The pool looks very inviting, but never been able to use it. Always to late. I wanted to use the exercise room, but it closed just as we got there. The sauna/hot tub looed amazing and very inviting, but haven't used it yet.
If you are in need of a quiet, well-staffed and well-staffed place to stay in Fort Collins, look no further than the BW Kiva Inn. We have stayed at this property several times whilst visiting family in the area and we have never been disappointed. Highly recommended.
Creepy old hotel, way too pricey, close to Fort Collins and it was getting late so we were forced to get whatever was available. We spent rest of 8 days in Colorado and this was the most expensive and least desirable
The hotel looks nice from the outside. The pool area is very clean and the grounds are nicely maintained. The lobby area is clean and attractive. Front desk staff were friendly and attentive. Hallways were a bit dark and the guest rooms, while clean, smelled funny and are in need of refreshing. Bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels, but the installation of liquid soap dispensers in the showers was disappointing. The price of accommodations was such that bar soap and individual shampoo and conditioner should have been available. The breakfast area was clean and well maintained. The breakfast items were adequate. Overall it was a pleasant place to spend a night, but not an outstanding value.
One night stay - rooms were clean and modern. Breakfast included in the price was well above average. Location lets it down a little. It looks walkable to some bars & restaurants on Google maps but it's not. There is one place right next door but that was closed by 8. Good stop off, but wouldn't spend more than a night or two for that reason.
This place is hands down the best place in Fort Collins, CO to stay. It is very family friendly and the staff are exceptional. Very clean and great Breakfast. We have stayed at many other locations and this is our first choice. WE WILL never again stay at any other place. Thank you for making our long weekend even more memorial.
Broken AC in first room but they quickly moved me to another room. Good sized. Pretty basic but good enough for one night. Could hear TV in room next to me but once the AC was running this drowned out. Generous breakfast and nice friendly staff. Parking pretty tight if you arrive late.
As I stated in a 2015 review, we have stayed here s number of times and found this a good place to stay. This time we arrived in a May snow storm after a harrowing drive from Denver International Airport. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the coffee from the lobby was hot and quite welcome. At breakfast, waffles, scrambled eggs and bisquits were available along with juice and coffee. It all made for a very pleasant stay.
We had a great stay for my niece's college graduation. The hotel is dog friendly, everyone was very helpful and friendly, the premises were clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Great location close to old town/downtown Fort Collins. We will definitely stay there again!
We made our reservations almost a year ahead for our child's graduation from CSU. Traveled with early 20s kids and grandparents. The Kiva Inn served our purposes very nicely. Clean safe place to rest in the evenings. Breakfast was standard fare continental-type with plenty of food and ample seating. I would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
Very comfy well-appointed rooms, though the pillows are a bit hard. It's very rare to find a hotel room with two king-size beds plus a hide-a-bed. It was perfect for our family. Beautiful common area, yummy breakfast, and the hot tub felt soooo good after a long drive up I-25 on a cold night.
Perfect for traveling through Colorado. Very clean and comfortable. Awesome breakfast included which makes up for the price. Had special pet/420 rooms with patios that were away from the main hotel. The restaurant next door had great food and service.
It's an older property, which means that the rooms are large. They are also clean, and the beds are comfortable. Easy in and out, right next to an old favorite restaurant (the Charco-Broiler) on one side and a gas station on the other. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lovely hotel, not too far from either old town or I-25.
This a lovely property on the outskirts of Ft.Collins nr the expressway. Very well kept and visually impressive. Good restaurant next door. Very pleasant staff & nice room. No elevator but only two storys.
The hotel was very clean and rhe staff was all friendly and helpful. The location is convenient to all Ft Collins has to offer. Old Town is maybe 5 minutes max from the hotel. The university a couple minutes more. Several of the breweries are a very short drive. Easy access from I25. I would even consider this hotel for Frontier Days as Cheyenne is a short drive. The breakfast is standard, but well stocked and maintained well. Wish the pool was indoors, but it was ok as we came to see the area and not the hotel pool. We will stay there again when we visit Ft Collins.
This hotel was lovely! Right off the freeway with big rooms and very kind staff. The breakfast was delicious and there are lots of dinner spots close by. Definitely going to come back here and stay again.
The hotel has a very pleasant southwestern theme. The hotel and room were very clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. I spent one short night there but had a very positive experience. The location was perfect for my visit to a local hospital.
My husband and I stayed at this Best Western first because it was decently priced on hotels.com. Now, we stay there every time we go to or through Fort Collins. The atmosphere is so homey and welcoming. The staff has always been great. The beds are decent. The breakfast is good. I couldn't ask for a better place to stay. We've even seen a construction company stay here!
We have stayed at the Kiva Inn on several occasions and have found it to be consistently a good value with attentive staff, ample breakfast, and a nice hot tub to enjoy. We have already booked for another stay in May.
The price was low and the room was recently remodeled and clean. The king size bed was nice, but too firm for my taste. The reason I only gave 3 stars was due check-in policies that made me feel uncomfortable rather than welcome.
Fairly clean, but I prefer cleaner. Bedside table had sticky brown residue. Carpet stains. Front desk needs to be friendlier. Beds were comfy. Plenty of towels, washcloths and hand towels. Shower was nice.
I recently stayed at the Kiva Inn. What a great place to stay! Easy access off of Mulberry Street. The place is well designed and very comfortable. Rooms are large, clean, and ours had a balcony, which made it really nice. We found the rate to be very affordable. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. I just can't say enough nice things! It is an older hotel, which I assume means many folks may take a pass on it for a newer one, but the place is very well maintained, clean, functional and just plain old nice! I'll definitely stay here again.
First Clue: You are warned there is no refund when booking through the Best Western site. Second Clue: When you check in they inform you there is a $50 deposit on the room. Rooms are in poor shape and it is very noisy at this hotel. Management seems to be unaware how bad they are, or they just don't care.
Having stayed here a couple years ago we found the property to still be in excellent condition. The receptionist on Nov. 9th at around 6 pm was very professional, courteous and efficient. The complimentary breakfast was average but well presented and fresh. The receptionist on the morning of Nov. 10th, 2016 was very accommodating and efficient. It appears that all staff are well trained and motivated toward a very good guest experience.
Very clean, very quiet motel that is well off the interstate. For the price, this place can't be beat. My only complaint was the worn carpet in my room, but that would not keep me from returning The complimentary breakfast was excellent. The room had all the usual amenities. The overall value of this place is great.
The people who work here were all very nice and gave excellent directions. The place is easy to get to from the interstate but far enough from it that the rates are lower. There is a wonderful restaurant right next door you can walk to.
Great room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Good location in Fort Collins. This was the second time we stayed at this hotel and would stay again next time. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Fort Collins
Room was cozy, front patio was nice. I would return in a minute. Hot tub was awesome as well. Didn't have to share when I was in it! Traveled to Ft. Collins from Denver and wanted to stay because I was attending a 2 day class. I chose this Inn due to the fact they have smoking rooms. These rooms are on ground level and are more personal than regular rooms. I loved it.
We stayed at this hotel last night. It was clean and they were very accommodating. The breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast but it hit the spot for us considering we have been on the road for a few days.
Booked this hotel at the last minute on our road trip. The lobby was very inviting and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Close to the old town area of Ft. Collins, where we had a very nice dinner. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, and friendly place to stay in Ft. Collins the Best Western Kiva Inn is for you. We stay here every time we visit family, and will keep coming back. My mother needs a handicap accessible room and the room at the Kiva Inn meets all of her needs. The staff is so helpful and genuinely want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We will be back.
I would certainly stay here again. The location is good, it is close to many places to eat. It is pretty close to I-25 for people who need to get back to work fast. It looks like it was remodeled and they did a good job.
Excellent hotel and great value! The hotel room was comfortable and updated. Breakfast was no frills but excellent! Check in and out was definitely easy and uncomplicated. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Fort Collins!
This is an excellent hotel to stay at when visiting CSU or Fort Collins. The accommodations are a great value, and the staff go out of their way to meet guest needs. We were especially impressed by Branden, and the extreme care he took to make sure the breakfast area was well stocked, re-stocked and cleaned.
Great Value. The Sauna made this hotel my favorite of my whole trip. The hot tub was not hot enough for me personally. I did not get to thy the breakfast because I was sleeping so good from the sauna experience. Everything else was wonderful. Very affordable.
I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this hotel was for the low price we paid. I would have to say that it is far and away the nicest Best Western my wife and I have stayed at or even seen for that matter. We are already planning on booking our next stay here next month when I have to return for my next doctors appointments.
Wonderful place. Clean friendly. Beautiful room with comfy beds. I would visit again and will. Kinda like to go in the summer and enjoy the pool. It was a bit noisy this morning with doors slamming. But not theyre fault
I stay here yearly. The staff is wonderful. The hotel is wonderful. Breakfast is as good as any hotel breakfast. It is a very very comfortable, pleasant place to stay. The location is close to everything. I do not even consider staying anywhere else when I visit Ft Collins.
charged me 20 dollars more then they told me on phone and the room was not smoke free or i would have to pay more good luck to the next people that stay here i got two rooms in the old part of the hotel i would think for the money we would of got 100 rooms not room that were 45 like we got i stay at best western all over the us will not be back to this one thank you
After correcting her mistake on the prior reservation I had made the week before, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay this second time. The week before I was not so happy when I arrived after dealing with the Denver rush hour traffic to be told my reservation was on the second floor and they have NO elevator. I wasn't too happy at this point being tired and frazzled from the Denver traffic nightmare. Best Western offerings made up for it. Am a member of the rewards program.
This IS the place the stay. Just researching the reviews you will come to the conclusion that you don't have to look any further. My mom has a Unisar DH900 TV Listening System and Rajesh Sarda "General Manager" got this hooked up for my mother so she could hear the TV. Rajesh Sarda "General Manager" and Hema Sarda "Manager" Are Great People along with their employees, The Best Western Kiva Inn, Fort Collins, COLORADO and the people who work there are the way they ALL should be.
Customer Service starts on the phone and at front desk. Micky and Brandon went out of their way to help us out. Finding a Golf Course and Dinner arrangments Stupid 200 characters minimun requirments. Opla Da Opla De, Hope you have a wonderfull day.
Wife and I stayed here to visit Rocky Mountain National Park. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Hot tub pool, fitness center and the breakfast were all decent. I would Highly recommend eating at the restaurant next door called Charbroiler. Reasonably priced and the food was excellent
I recently stayed for 2 nights in for a family function. I arrived mid morning by car from Denver. The staff made an extra effort to have a room available to me by 12:30. The room was clean quiet and spacious. I had a corner room on the end of the hotel. I think the size was a little larger than what one would normally expect. There is a fine established restaurant and bar [not part of the hotel] right next door. But there are many interesting restaurant with 2-3 miles of easy driving. The hotel is on the older eastern side of the city about 1 1/2 miles off the interstate. The city is clearly growing in that direction. The university is about 2 miles away. I didn't use the gym, pool or sauna so have no comment. This was a one time trip for me. I was quite satisfied and would stay there again.
Nice hotel off of a busy highway. We thought it would be noisy in our room but that wasn't the case. The room was nice overall. Some hairs in the bathroom that weren't ours, not an overwhelming amount. The tub was a little slick. Located next to a nice restaurant and not far from others.
I was having trouble booking online, so I called and Michelle at the front desk was able to help me immediately! I will always call and book direct in the future! I met the Manager at check in and he was very kind - genuinely wishing my husband and I a Happy Anniversary! The pool and hot tub were perfect! Lots of breakfast choices. Bed (especially pillows) were very comfortable. Definitely a bang for our buck! We'll be back!
Clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was well organized with plenty from which to choose. The grandkids took advantage of the pool several times during our four day stay. Staff was friendly and helpful.
We were very pleased with our stay at the Kiva Inn. The hotel was very clean and the room was decorated very nicely. Everything in the room worked great, from the A/C to the Jacuzzi tub. The staff was very friendly and helpful. One employee, Sydney, stands out. She was the employee that checked us in on our arrival. She was a great fountain of information about Fort Collins and the surrounding area. She helped us immensely!!
The Best Western Kiva inn was supposed to be a economic choice close to CSU for move in weekend. It was all that and so much more! The owners are a delightful couple who welcomed us and ensured we had everything we needed, making some last minute adjustments in our room configuration. The rooms were clean and updated. The soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion are all in wall mounted take what you need containers! Way to be green and use just what is needed!! The complimentary breakfast had many fresh options and the afternoon cookies were great! The grounds are clean and there are chairs and tables to enjoy the outside. The location is close to everything including the campus!
The hotel was very clean, lovely grounds, staff was very nice, and convenient location. I've stayed in other nearby Best Westerns and this hotel was the prettiest. In my opinion they over charge; because they can. Average Best Western is $100.00 plus tax. Our room was $162.00 (including tax) because it's located closer to Colorado State University than the others. I don't know if I would stay there again, only because of the price.
Thank you for a pleasant stay. Very clean and Breakfast was filled with variety. Our stay was nice. We got three rooms and no complaints from any of our companions. Handicap accessible and it was pleasant. Staff was awesome and attentive to our needs. Loved the eco-friendly environment.
rooms are clean and service is really good. Also they do have free breakfast, internet and breakfast which are maintained clean and good. Staff are friendly and always helpful. Definitely recommend others to stay here
My wife and I have stayed at the Best Western Kiva Inn several times over the years. It is a nice hotel with a friendly staff. The rooms are clean and spacious. The reason for the average rating is that the shower has push button dispensers for body wash and shampoo/conditioner, rather than mini bars of soap and bottles of shampoo and conditioner. My wife's hair was "straw-like" after she got out of the shower. She usually brings her own shampoo and conditioner, but forgot those items this time. We would consider staying at the Kiva Inn again in the future.
Room was clean. All employees were nice & helpful. Pool water was heated but still cold. Didn't get into hot tub because extra full of bubbles. Would have been nice to have breakfast until 10 for those of us that didn't return to the motel until late night but only until 9.
Beds not made. Linens not changed. Towels and wash cloths not replace. Empty box of facial tissue not replaced. Floors not vacuumed. Bathroom not cleaned. Dirty room, awful experience. Have never found this to be an issue, as Best Western are always great. But not so at this location. Stay away.
We always stay at the Kiva inn. It is easy to get to Old Town and the breweries in the area. The Charco Broiler is a very good restaurant in walking distance to the Kiva Inn. It is also easy to get on and off I-25.
This BW is not in great shape. Smokers abound and are tolerated by the management. There was a terrible cleaning smell that lingered in our room and barely masked the musty smokey smell. The mattress was the greatest disappointment: a soft, super squishy sponge that felt like it was going to consume you. Access to this hotel is difficult with potholes and ruts between the parking lot and access road. Sketchy neighborhood. At the front desk in front of me at check-in, a guest was being charged 50% more than we paid since he had no reservation - poor soul. We tolerated the place only because we were too tired to make the effort to find something else after 600 miles. Until they make improvements, look elsewhere.
This location for us was great. We stayed one night before checking into CSU and one night after the trip coming back. The youth had a great time. We used the pool, the sauna, the fitness room, the hot tub as well. This hotel was about 3 miles where we needed to be.
We've stayed here for a couple of years, now, during our annual trip for Cheyenne Frontier Days. The rooms are very nice and proximity to I-25 to head up to Cheyenne is a definite plus for us. The beds really are nice, but I almost felt like I was "climbing" to get into it! My husband and I both always bring computers and other electronic devices and we both utilize C-Pap machines. This hotel had MORE THAN ENOUGH outlets to accommodate all of these devices!! I WAS IMPRESSED!! Lighting was also better than many hotels I've been in recently. We'll DEFINITELY be back!! :-)
We very much liked this property. I redeemed BW points for the room and was surprised to be charged $30 at check-in, with no explanation given as to why. I assume it was a cleaning charge assessed by the locally owned property.
We loved the large room with 2 king beds and a sofa sleeper. The indoor hot tub was perfect. The breakfast was good...small area for people to eat, but if you were patient, it was fine. Would definitely stay here again.
The entry lounge is beautifully decorated. We arrived late and really enjoyed the warm outdoor pool after a long day of driving...slipped into the hot tub for a quick soak as well. Simple but clean room.
This is a very clean and modern property off of the highway on a service road. Gas station next door. Very short drive to downtown. If you are a fan of Southwestern and native american inspired art, this is the place for you. The theme is represented all over the property. Everything worked very well and we had a very comfortable stay.
The hotel/rooms are very nice and the staff very helpful. We were offered help carrying our bags upstairs, but we miss an elevator. Breakfast was good and is served in a nicely decorated area. The hotel sits pretty close to I-25, so is convenient for travelers. There is a great restaurant right next door, so once you are out of the car, you don't have to use it to go eat. Definitely worth the stay.
I stayed here only for one night but, since I am a Platinum member they upgraded my room with a jacuzzi bathtub in it. After a 14 hour day it was much appreciated. Very helpful staff that actually took time to explain what i was getting amd initialing for. Great hotel.
Just passing through and needed one night room in Ft. Collins, CO. Easy in and out of downtown Ft. Collins.Pleasant atmosphere with great decor. Quiet despite being near a highway. Breakfast had good variety and quality -saved us from seeking and spending before we got back onto the road.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location - not far from downtown Fort Collins where there are many great place to eat! Our room was very clean as well! The pool was also nice - perfect after a hot day of rafting!
Purpose of our trip was a Memorial Day Weekend baseball tournament in Fort Collins, CO. The hotel was selected by our head coach as he wanted to keep the team together in one place. Wasn't my choice and definitely won't be in the future. We were checked into room #232 (2 queen beds). My wife and I shared one bed and our sons were in the other. Their bed was fine. Our bed was AWFUL. Sagged in the middle and every time you would move the springs would pop loudly. Horrible night sleep for my wife and me....worst ever. Spoke with the front desk the following morning. Friendly staff. Received word later in the day we were being moved to room #227. Our bed was now fine (I always select closest to the windows/AC). Now the boys bed was bad....doing the exact same thing our bed did the night before. My oldest son and I then took the mattress from #227 and since we still had the key for #232, we switched mattresses. Didn't help. Same issue. Appears all box spring related. Complained the following morning at checkout. Requested the manager contact me to discuss reimbursing some of my expenses. As of this writing, no response from him at all. Not only will I not be staying there in the future, I will make sure our team doesn't as well, nor our friends and family that were in the area to include members of other teams. A simple kind gesture and all would have been forgiven. But they chose to ignore. I will not.
we've stayed at this hotel several times. we come to ft. Collins at least every two years and we always stay at the KIva. It's always clean and friendly and the location is great for us. Breakfast area can get a little crowded, but we enjoy the selection, so we adjust our attitude and go with the flow.
Went to check-in, first question was if we wanted room on first or second floor. Took second floor since it's usually quieter. Went through entire booking process and was directed to the stairs, room at far end of hall. Asked where the elevator was and... NO elevator. That should probably be the first disclosure at check-in, not the last. We made a total of about 12 trips up and down those stairs with heavy boxes and luggage. We are 60 years old! First motel in 40 years of traveling with no elevator. Otherwise clean and quiet although view from our room overlooks trashy trailer park. Probably won't stay there again.
This is a clean, modern hotel that accepts dogs. The room was spacious and clean; there was a nice breakfast bar and charming decor in the lobby. Very friendly and helpful staff, convenient parking and close to the heart of Fort Collins. The only negative: the beds/mattresses need some upgrading or replacing.
Satisfactory hotel, but could use some new bedding and mattresses. Breakfast needs more protein options. Some people are allergic to eggs. And the waffle batter ran out so they filled the tub with water to maybe wash it out? No sign, and then when we tried to make it waffle, the cleaning water splashed everywhere. And obviously the waffle didn't turn out.
The location of this hotel is roughly midway between I-25 and the heart of Fort Collins. The hotel is well maintained and exceptionally clean. Its only drawback is the lack of an elevator but the hotel is only two stories high.
Not at all what I'd hoped for, especially for what we paid. Staff was friendly and lobby was clean. Breakfast was decent...yogurt topping bar, muffins, omelets, sausage, etc. Pool was clean, but much smaller than expected. The rooms, however, are very dated and need serious updating. The carpet was horribly stained, to the point that I didn't want to walk on it bare foot. Our room had a strange smell to it. We never could figure out where it was coming from. It was sort of musty and smelled a little like a dirty trash can. When we opened the sofa bed, it was clear that the bedding had not been changed. There was hair and crumbs in it. Beds weren't terribly uncomfortable, but I'm a stickler when it comes to the quality of my sheets. These were polyester and itchy. We would definitely look elsewhere next time we in northern CO.
We were assigned a pet-friendly room that we did NOT specify. The hotel refused to give us a non-pet-friendly room. There was an odor in the room, there was hair on the walls, dog food (or what I hope was dog food) on the desk chair and the back of the desk, and the refrigerator leaked on the floor.
We arrived at Denver Airport and had pre booked this Hotel. We avoided the toll road from the Airport ( Don't take it in a rental, no saying what you will be charged as no pay booths) and its a quick 70 mile trip up i25. Good Hotel, nice exterior and helpful staff. Big Bed, Pool, Hot Tub, Sauna, Fitness centre, clean and tidy. Breakfast is continental and Hot. Gluten free Cereal available. Wi-Fi free and OK.
Staff were very helpful. Breakfast area was clean. Room was spectacular! Traveling with two kids after picking them up from the airport is always hard but Best Western Kiva Inn made the trip home so much easier because of their excellent services! Thanks again!
Beautiful exterior, lobby, breakfast and pool area. Staff wasn't as welcoming (although they could have had a bad day). A/C in the room wasn't that great. The rug seemed dated and dingy. The sink counter height was very low. The bed was very comfortable.
We arrived early morning and knew our room would not be ready until later. They offered to call us when it was done so we used the time to explore Ft. Collins. Beautiful city. At 2:45 we got a call our room was ready. We asked for a King bed on the first floor since there is no elevator. (We booked in March). We were told that no King was available on first floor, but for the same price we would get the two queen beds. Not excited by this since it takes up more room, but ok. We opened the door and the room was trashed. Food on the floor, beds not changed and it smelled. We immediately went back to the front desk. We were then given a KING bed on the FIRST floor. Wow! Thought that wasn't available. Breakfast was average. Only meat was sausages on Saturday morning. Pool area is ok too, but a tree sheds blossoms into the cold tub. There is a nice hot tub inside. Don't think I would stay here again.
Every time I have stayed here the rooms have been really nice and clean! Beds are very comfortable and the staff has been excellent!! The quality really shows!! It does have an outside pool that I have never used, indoor hot tube that I also never use. Only negative I can come up with, it's a little on the pricy side! But you do get what you pay for here!!
The hotel looks beautiful on the inside. The rooms look nice. We had 3 problems: the bathroom fan didn't work (so we didn't use it), the bottom sheets had those little pills that fabric gets when they have been washed too much (and need to be replaced) and the front desk told my husband that they would have scrambled eggs for breakfast and they didn't have them. I will say it was a good value for the price.
Not impressed. Stayed two nights. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the property was clean, but the A/C was not working properly and vacillated between extremes-- very cold, then shut off to become very hot and stuffy in the room. My college students did not sleep well due to the uncomfortable temps, gun shots popping off next door from the trailer park and noisy guests running in the hallways. Other rooms may have had a better experience, but neither student got adequate rest so was not worth the competitive pricing. Wifi was poor. Located in more of an industrial area. Will not be staying here again.
I've stayed here in past years on my visits to Fort Collins. It's a very nice motel but their rates took a big jump from last year. Last summer I paid $117 for a room, now they want $145 for the same room! I will be staying at the Days Inn down the road from now on. Under $100.
I booked this hotel based on the ratings and reviews here on Trip Advisor. It was very affordable and, as noted in other reviews, it is clean and staff friendly. It is about a 6 minute drive to "Old Town." There is a restaurant (Charco Broiler) right next door which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and also has a lounge. The free breakfast has a good variety of items and is available from 6a-9a. They have a laundry room which was clean and the vending machine that sold soap, powdered bleach, and softener sheets worked (nothing more frustrating than getting your washing all ready to go only to find that the vending machine doesn't work!). One potential negative: There are two levels in the hotel and no elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage and/or are not capable of climbing a flight of stairs with your bags, you better hope there are rooms available on the first floor (or put that request on your reservation and hope it can be honored).
I stayed here for a family get together in Fort Collins (a lovely town). The room was very nice, very clean. The complimentary breakfast is a typical high carb breakfast of yogurt (no plain), breakfast cereal, waffles, muffins, various breads, and some fresh fruit. My bed was fine, not awesome, but, adequate. Plenty of hot water whenever necessary.
We have stayed at this Best Western before and it has always been comparable in price with clean rooms & decent breakfast bar, and sauna & hot tub available. Pool is outdoor so don't use it. Front desk staff is always helpful. Easy access to downtown, CSU & I-25
Great people great location ,great property obviously not wanted by everyone but they had rooms for smokers with outdoor patios, separate yet convient to the rest of the hotel, so as to not offend nonsmokers.
great service and location. close to everything but don't have to deal with the down town traffic. No elevator but they offered to help carry things up if needed. lots of main floor rooms. we needed adjoining rooms, worked great. fridge and microwave, NICE tv, great wifi too.
This a very comfortable place to stay when traveling in northern Colorado. Kiva Inn older hotel yet very comfortable and priced right for travelers or short stays. Clean rooms well taken care of for older hotel. Very friendly staff and front desk and very polite housekeeping staff. Very nice breakfast area and very clean, nice dining area good selection of breakfast items. The parking area is some what limited and expose to the street.
Extremely courteous, well trained and helpful staff. Clean and well managed. Charged an exorbitant rate (over $100 per night more than normal at this time) because of influx of people attending CSU graduation. Good Business? Maybe, but a lot of people would say "way too much overcharge!
BW Kiva is now our first choice for Fort Collins. Could be a little closer to downtown/old town, but it's all of a 4 minute drive to restaurants, bars, shopping. Excellent fun staff, pool, indoor Jacuzzi. Nice rooms, big thick towels, OK breakfast, comfy lobby, and lots of parking. Good choice.
The carpet was worn and well used. Had $50 hold for any damage that might occur in the room. (I am 60+ years old and only wanted a nights sleep.) I could understand it for college students that swarm to the hotels to party.
Kokopelli heaven...the lobby is beautifully decorated. Would have liked more of that southwestern feel in my room. Hotel is clean with nice rooms. Check-in was abit slow, but overall stay was good. Will stay here again.
I love staying at this place. I try to stay here everytime I drive through Colorado. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This hotel also excepts dogs for a small fee. I recommend this hotel to everyone.
Hotel was very well kept up. Room was comfortable; needs some updates in the bathroom, but otherwise a nice room. Great place for a 1-2 night stay for work or passing through. Pool, spa, and fitness room all liked nice.
I always try to stay at the Kiva Inn in Ft. Collins. It is a short distance to my favorite brewery, Odell Brewery. The beds are comfortable and the room is spacious. The prices are always very reasonable.
We stay one night, and we were impressed! The room was very nice, clean, and had a super comfortable bed. The room came with a mini fridge and microwave. The only con was all the noise in the morning. We wanted to sleep in a little before checking out and just couldn't. We heard running non stop from the floor above us and what sounded like a family reunion right outside our door. When checking in ask for a room on second floor and way from everything.
could have been much better. the breakfast could have been better. everytime we went to the hot tub there was someone in it. so we never got to use it. and they didn't have a indoor pool. other then all that I think they should also have more then one washer/dryer set. we had to wait 3 hours just to do our laundry and get it done. other then that I guess everything else was fine.
New look is great, staff is friendly and I enjoyed my stay. The new style is a pleasant change and modern. with today. That is a great way to keep up with the times. I frequently stay at Louisville co BW and is my favorite bt FoCo is a close second.
This was an average stay. Found slight cleanliness issues in room. Television channel search extremely slow & not user friendly. Entry security poor at side entrance; door did not close & lock easily. Breakfast? Really that was breakfast? I had a hard bowled egg (OK) & a breakfast burrito. Burrito was hard, so I figured get past this & the inside would at least taste good. Wrong.
The bed I slept in was broken down on the entry side. I had a poor night's sleep as I kept slipping down to the side of the bed. The bed needs to be replaced rm 114. The remote wasn't working very well, I had to get up within 3 feet of the tv to get it to work. The dresser was dated and inexpensive looking. The heater ran all night and didn't get the room warm. Definitely below standard for a Best Western.
We often choose Best Western's when we are out of town. This one was close in to where we wanted to be and had enough off-street parking, which was well-lighted. We love the breakfasts. In this case, the hotel was full due to an event in town, and the breakfast seating area was not near large enough. The hot tub/spa is indoors and was open. The pool is outdoor and seasonal. There is also an exercise room. We liked the location; straight west off the freeway, but the directions don't quite tell one how far it is and the street mentioned was incorrect. Proceed west to Timberline and then double back a few hundred yards. Hotel is on the north side of Mulberry. The room was adequate and clean, enough towels, etc. We made reservations with our BW card and the room was ready when we arrived. There is a surcharge for weekends and they are unable to make just one reservation if your stay extends over a weekend, as ours did. So late at night, when we came in, the key card did not work. It was necessary to go to the front desk and have another one made, to change it out. In the morning, there was a hassle, as the night manager had thought we were skipping out on paying since I did not complete the tedious and unnecessary reservation paperwork late that night when we returned, tired. I complained and it turned out that some others were unhappy with this employee's service as well. The day manager said they were working on correcting this cumbersome procedure about different rates requiring different reservations. I don't expect this to change, however, and I dislike the inconvenience. There was no hold placed on my credit card, as one review stated, but perhaps that was because I made advance reservations. One large problem is that there is no elevator to reach the upstairs rooms and it was quite difficult hauling the luggage up the "L"-shaped stairs. This means all handi-capped access rooms will be downstairs. Don't leave anything in your car overnight. The price was right. Maybe one gets what they pay for.
The breakfast was very good. The staff was excellent. The bed was very, very soft so if that is a problem, you may want to reconsider your reservation. Also, the handicap access was non-existent. No electric opening doors. Not cheap and I did not appreciate having a hold put on my credit card for $50 because I was staying in a college town. I am almost 60 years old and in a wheelchair but they told me they do that to everyone. Then there was an upcharge for my handicap room. Really? If you are not handicap and can sleep on very soft beds, this is a good hotel room and hotel. If you are in a wheelchair or want a firm bed, pay extra to stay somewhere else.
A very nice place to stay at. The rooms are very clean. It's a quiet place to sleep at night. And pet friendly. And the breakfast in the mornings are very excellent in quality. I would stay there time after time.
I stayed here for four days while my dog underwent surgery at CSU. Pro's: They let me check in a few hours early which was very much appreciated because I had just gotten into town after flying all day. Easy on/off the main road into town. The grounds and main areas were very clean. Front Desk Help was ok. Not super friendly but not unfriendly. Room was a good size. I didn't try the breakfast but the area looked clean and well stocked. Con's: I asked for a room near an exit as I had my dog with me. They put me near an emergency exit that wasn't to be opened unless there was an emergency. Not helpful as I had to go through the entire hotel, then across the parking lot to the far side of the hotel to the dog potty area. The dog potty area was not well lit or advertised. If found it by accident. Room was ok, not like the pictures so I'm thinking the dog folks and smokers get the older rooms. The rooms were not very soundproof. I could hear people talking and um... I could also hear the showers. Yikes! Super loud in my room. The floors were sticky and the bedding worn as was the mattress. Otherwise it was clean enough. My biggest beef was not getting a response from Management regarding a left behind item in the room. A simple "we looked but didn't find the item" would have been sufficient. Still haven't' heard from them.
I stayed only one night with my husband and this hotel was so clean! We arrived a few hours before our check in time but they were super nice and let us check in earlier no extra fee. The gentlemen in the front desk was super nice, attentive and helpful. They even showed us our room before we check in to make sure we where please. The location is fantastic close to everything easy to get to. The room was very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was surprisingly good I was not expecting such variety so I must say if you can please stay here! I know I will on my next trip to Fort Collins for sure!!
This hotel needs better training on the front desk staff. Evening person seem to be almost bothered that I arrived for a 1 night stay. Since I checked in late I didn't have time to eat so I bought a couple of things from the vending machine. When I tried the cookies, they didn't taste right. So I looked at the expiration date and found it had been outdated since Feb. 2015!! Parking was not ideal (I was driving a small box truck). My overall stay was just average or less than.
Stayed 2 nights and there were ups and downs. Rooms were cobwebbed in corners, and the hotel management couldn't find our payment in full for a very long time while trying to check out Monday morning. So held us back to go on to Wyoming.
The KIVA INN Best Western on the outskirts of Fort Collins is a fine establishment with a nice jacuzzi and fitness room, charming little lobby with free breakfast and coffee/tea... conveniently located on a main thoroughfare in and out of town. The only real criticism is the quality of the actual guest BEDS. They slept like straight-boards. The queen mattresses are about 10-in thick at best and probably cost $180 a pop for the hotel. Cheap, hard mattresses make for an unpleasant stay in the end.
Me along with my wife stayed in Best Western Kiva Inn to attend a community function. Our stay was very comfortable. Staff and quality of breakfast was excellent. It is a hotel giving value for money. I would recommend everybody to stay there once and experience the excellence in quality be it staff, house keeping , breakfast.....
It was a great place to stay. I really enjoyed the Jacuzzi in the room. I would and have recommended this hotel to people traveling through Ft Collins... Anytime I go through Ft Collins I make it a point to stay ant the Kiva Inn..
Check-in staff is very friendly! Room basic motel but was very clean. The breakfast room is big and offers nice selections to choice from. Location makes it easy to drive to. Our room overlooked the open atrium and was still very quiet.
We try to stay here when we are in town... we stay at the others in ft collins but they are not as "good/fun/hospitable" as our dear beloved "KIVA INN" We are a simple professional asphalt crew who needs extended stay options on the northern front range... We come down from Steamboat every spring and fall for the last 10 plus years... Man it's hard to find rooms for 10-18 people during these shoulder seasons. EVERY SPRING and FALL. LOVE IT
I have been staying at the Kiva Inn for over 8 years for medical reason and have never had a bad experience. the staff is always friendly and very helpful same goes for the owners. Irealy like the location because it is close to my doctors.
Staff uniformly friendly and eager to help out. Welcoming, open, western native American themed lobby is well lit by natural light and is also the site of a very nice breakfast buffet each a.m., which adds greatly to the value of this hotel. Clean, roomy rooms, set back from road, acceptably quiet. Not luxury, but very good value for its rates.
We were very happy with our stay. It was quite a unique design. The breakfast room spacious and well stocked. Even though our room faced the road it was very quiet. Right next door is a excellent restaurant.. family owned since 1950s .
The rooms and dirty, dark, and dingy. The staff was rude. Breakfast had no hot options other than a waffle iron. Hotel was hard to find and in a sketchy part of town. I'd suggest going to Fort Collins' other Best Western by the University.
All aspects of our stay were great. Very clean, very friendly, always asking if everything was ok and could they be of further assistance. We had the Jacuzzi room. It had a damp smell but otherwise was excellent. Breakfast was great. No elevators that we found and there are 2 floors. We did not use the pool, hot tub or the work out area. If you have a lot of luggage or have a hard time navigating stairs, request the first floor.
Average Best Western stay. Room and bathroom were clean and nice. Hate that there is no general overhead light. WTH? I get to go turn off 5 lights (that don't help you dig into the dark reaches of your packed bags) before going to bed instead of one switch. Logical to someone. Otherwise it was fine. Although I did request for a picture of Nichols Cage be put in my night stand in the special request section of the online reservation form. Nope. They did not deliver. But they have a computer and printer. Hmmm. Makes you wonder if guest satisfaction is a priority. I asked the other BW in Aurora for a pic of Olivia Wilde. Also did not deliver. Other chains do. Just sayin.
We always stay at this hotel when going to Ft Collins as it is pet friendly, clean, newly renovated main area and dining area. It is an older hotel that is well maintained and location is easy to get to and is near interstate and the university and old towne.
The BW Kiva: appealing facade welcomes you off the frontage road. Nice landscaping and a neat location far from the "hustle" of town, but conveniently close to New Belgium, Odell's and the Fort Collins Brewery (FCB). Grab a bike to take your own "tour de fat" from the Kiva to the brews. Front lobby and breakfast area are painfully small - but adorable. Take your breakfast in your room - you'll thank me later. It's a standard Best Western with a cool western flair that is very "North Colorado/Wyoming". In all: Cozy. Mostly clean. (The "wood" part of the floor in our room was sticky even though it smelled like 409 or something.) Very affordable. I'll return!!!
It's best to arrive here right around check-in time, when you might get a parking spot. I thought I would do the public service of informing fellow TripAdvisor users that of the two Best Westerns in Fort Collins, this is the one on the outskirts of town. Some people prefer the outskirts, while others prefer to be closer to the action.
Staff was competent. Breakfast the usual inferior Best Western fare. Most surprising was a room that stank. Have seen earlier reviews that cite this, and the staff at the hotel admits that this is the case with several of the rooms. Marred our two-night stay and since the hotel was full, there was no chance of moving to a different room.
We stayed overnight on the way back from a Bronco football game. We enjoyed the hotel. While there is no elevator, our 2nd floor room was clean, well appointed (mini fridge , excellent king bed) and relatively quiet. Breakfast offerings were extensive. Yyhe Charco Broiler restaurant next door has always been really good. We will stay again!EThereeelevator
Staff was very helpful. Room was very clean, and breakfast was quite good. Stayed there on way to Yellowstone and stayed there on our return trip. Highly recommend it. Close to interstate, quiet. Good night's sleep
We were there for a family reunion. The staff and room were very accommodating. My husband and I used the internet and the fitness room. I had a good breakfast both mornings. I would recommend the Kiva to any couples staying a couple of nights in Fort Collins.
Large well maintained rooms, and very comfortable beds. The staff is super courteous and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Free internet connectivity without having to sign in (and free use of the on site computer and printer). Overall an excellent place to stay!
We stayed here one night on our way to Estes Park. We were very surprised there was not an elevator-just stairs. We had a king sized bed, nice size room. Front desk staff, Leah was very helpful with a nice personality. It was disappointing the pool was closed for the season-it was 80 degrees outside. Breakfast was not very good; the waffles although fully timed had raw dough inside.
All the amenities and more, on one of the main drags Mulberry St., with a reasonable price, and a staff that likes being there, just a hop skip and a jump from Horsetooth Res. a wonderful place to relax, Access to the Chargo rest next door is a +.
We were in Fort Collins for a colleges Football game and we made reservations at the Best Western Kiva ..The check in was great , nicest guy at the front desk , Conor .. He helped us so much , found a great restaurant for us to have dinner , told us about the local attractions ... Gave us great directions .. The hotel was clean , lobby was very inviting , room was clean , he inspected it before we went in..we had breakfast ( complimentary ) at hotel , it was very good and presented very nicely !! We would stay there again !!
We stayed two nights, we were in town for a CSU vs Minnesota football game. I would say this place was above average, but not very good. Pros: the staff was very helpful, beds were comfortable, breakfast was better than expected. Cons: the first room was stinky - they moved us quickly, the outdoor pool was closed - temperatures near 90, the sheets were a bit old and worn.
