Welcome to Best Western Pier Point Inn! Nestled on the bank of the Siuslaw River, affording the most magnificent views of the river and Old Town Florence. Many of our Florence hotel guests are in the region for the Oregon Sand Dunes and spend the days on ATVs or four-wheeling in their own vehicles. Our Oregon Coast hotel provides guests with everything they need for an exciting or relaxing getaway, like luxury bedding and an unbeatable location along the coast. With a river view of Siuslaw River, we are the perfect choice for couples looking for a little romance or outdoor lovers who want to be as close to the action as possible. We are a full service hotel. Our on-site restaurant The Bay View Bistro servers dinner Wednesday-Sunday from 4-9 p. m. and includes a full bar. Our Florence, Oregon hotel is right across the bridge from Old Town Florence, a must-see for history buffs. It is filled with fine dining, shopping and antiquing. However, it is our location next to the Sand Dunes that really draws people to our Florence hotel. We are close to the beach, and the Oregon Coast is stunning year-round. Oregon Coast sightseeing and whale watching is something everyone should do at least once, and we are conveniently located near the tour sites. Coho salmon fishing at the nearby river draws fishermen and women to our Florence hotel, too. The Rhododendron Festival and Fourth of July fireworks on the river are beloved annual events that locals and travelers alike look forward to. Even if you are here for business with Peace Health or Oregon Parks and Recreation, it is simple to make a little time for leisure activities. Our friendly hotel staff is dedicated to making sure your stay is the best it can be. We are happy to provide tips and recommendations on must-see sights and on things to do. We were treated with a careful attention to detail, respect an excellent care for our motorcycles. Any and every challenge that we might have had was was handled swiftly without any hassles. This property was much quieter than most of the other properties in near Old Town.

A very pleasant surprise! The rooms are clean, the bed comfortable and the view was beautiful of the bay and Old Town. The restaurant and breakfast area has the same great view. Breakfast was included, made to order egg station, homemade banana bread, coffee cake, steel cut oatmeal and sausage gravy. There was also fresh fruit and the usual breakfast items. We ate dinner in the restaurant, they have a happy hour from 4 to 6. Dinner was wonderful, lots of Gluten Free options and fresh seafood. Great service, and the creme brule was tasty!

    « A true gem of Florence! »

I got in a little late, and I was warmly received. Check-in was quick, and o found my room with little effort. The room was clean and quiet. I will stay again should I visit the Oregon Coast. The hotel is near an historic bridge over the Suislow River. It's is a good point between many fo the national and State parks along the Oregon Coast.

« Loved everything about this hotel! »

Great stay at this hotel. Friendly check-in by staff. River view room that was spacious and comfortable. Had a nice balcony with chairs, refrigerator and microwave, full length mirror, lots of outlets, nice size bathroom with full size bathtub, pretty wood vinyl plank floors, and it was freshly painted and very clean. Other bonuses were the restaurant and bar inside the hotel so that when we were ready for dinner we didn't have to drive. They have an awesome breakfast in the morning too with made to order omelets and frittatas and great French roast coffee. They have fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. This is the place to stay if you're in the area! All staff were awesome!

« Wonderful Pier Point Inn »

Our stay at the Best Western Pier Point Inn was wonderful. The room was clean, well appointed with nice decor, love there was no carpet. Best of all was the view of the Siuslaw River, Beautiful Siuslaw Bridge and old town both night and day. The Resturant was really, very good, with excellent service. The Breakfast was also good with a nice variety of food to choose from, and the price was just right!

    « Beyond Expectations »

We checked in early to our pet friendly room... The balcony is incredible providing a spectacular view of the river and the quaint downtown. The room is very clean and spacious. The refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker are terribly convenient. We were not aware of the restaurant on the premises. They offered a happy hour. The menu is hands above the standard fair in town. The atmosphere, view and food are all above and beyond. They went out of their way to make everything incredibly delicious... Fresh, clean flavors. A MUST for dinner when in Florence. Maria at the front desk was friendly and informative. Lisa in the restaurant "Bay View" is extremely helpful and fun. Chef Scott is a refreshing food artist... You will not be disappointed by this establishment

    « Just what we needed. . . . »

I don't think I can say enough good things about the people who work at this Best Western. Lisa in the restaurant; Donna at the breakfast nook; Sean at the check-in desk... all provided outstanding service to us. Above & beyond the norm... each of them made us feel like family. Our room was over-looking the river (which is peaceful, calm, & beautiful) and although a bit small, the bed is comfortable and the room was spotless. We will 100% come back to stay at this Best Western location again. The food at the restaurant was fabulous; the breakfast provided was great; and the location is convenient to Florence, Reedsport, North Bend, and Coos Bay. Only "down" side - the a/c - heat unit as a bit noisy. That's about it. The rest was top of the line good. Truly can't say enough good about the staff at this location - they are the best of the best. Thank you to you all even the ones I didn't get the names of... you all made our stay so pleasant.

    « Excellent stay »

This place is amazing, first thing you see when you drive in is the small waterfall to the left of the entrance. You walk through the door and onto your right is the check in/out counter. If you looks straight ahead that's the area where they serve the free continental breakfast. Let me tell you the food was excellent! You grab a paper with a list of the choices on how you want your eggs cooked and they'll cook it for you. They had a good selection of food. Cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, sausages, and way more stuff than I can remember. The best part was the make your own waffles which had a heart in the middle with a BW on it which I thought was a cute touch. I put some marionberry syrup with whip cream on mine. SO GOOD! As far as drinks they have coffee, orange and apple juice, milk, water. To the left of the check in is the Bay View Bistro. Man is their food amazing and the view. The waiter was nice. The only thing I'd say is the seating area is a little small for both places. So if your a big group hopefully you don't have to wait long. The room we booked was a two queen bedroom. The shower head is great for those who like it gentle or a little harder. The room was spacious. The whole hotel was very quiet felt like we were the only ones there. I don't know if it was because we went in the spring rather than summer? They have a sauna, pool and hot tub. Great for relaxing. It looks like they were adding another hot tub but I am not certain. Location is great, if you want to go see old town. It is across the river, you could even walk there if you wanted. The overall experience was greater than I had anticipated and we only stayed there one night! I would definitely recommend this place if you are staying in Florence. I will defiantly be back.

« Great view. Great Location »

Heading North the BW is located on the South end of the bridge on the Siuslaw River, across the river from the old town of Florence. We had a great King room, watched the few boats on the river (not so busy in April!) and the twinkling lights of old town located across the bridge and on the North side of the river. The hotel was quite busy, reception friendly and efficient however no breakfast service. Plenty parking. The room was clean and quiet and the king bed comfortable. We had dinner at the hotel. A new restaurant opened . It is quite small with tables and a small bar & was busy. Staff attentive and helpful in filling our order, Moderate prices. Convenient yet quiet. A place we would return to, we would try the pool and sauna next time.

    « Great stay »

Wonderful breakfast included and a great dinner at the restaurant. Nice rooms with a fantastic view of the bay. Relatively small quiet hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. This is not a luxury hotel but a very clean comfortable hotel that we would visit again.

« Great place to land! »

Like most Best Western Plus; very clean, friendly, & great staff. Our room was very nice & larger than we expected. We had a great view of the river & the city of Florence. Very convenient location; right on HWY 101, & set up so it's very quiet. The best surprise was the restaurant. The dinner menu is huge, and the cooks do a super great job! I had a crab cake dinner (with a bowl of clam chowder), my wife had one of their huge burgers. Everything was perfect. The breakfast spread was also great, with make to order eggs or omelets. We'll definitely stay here again!

« Short get away, just the weekend »

It was quite lovely, when we checked in, Candy and Shawn at the front desk were friendly, and helpful. My husband is a diamond member with Best Western and he was impressed. The room was comfortable, with a beautiful view of the bay. They have an indoor pool, hot tub, and dry sauna we found relaxing. In the morning the breakfast is wonderful and Jennifer impressed my husband buy making him a smoked salmon omelette. Sarah kept our table clear of used plates with a cheerful smile. The whole breakfast crew was very helpful. We dined at the Bay View restaurant on Saturday evening, and had a charming waitress named Mary. She kept our tea glasses full, and checked on us often. She was delightful, even suggesting the halibut dinner for my husband...it was very tasty. Later on we had a very nice chat with a congenial maintenance man Ray, who talked about changes coming to the hotel and plans for an elevator next year. Employees with pride in their place of work always make a difference. All in all. I would recommend this Best Western to anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly place to stay in Florence, Oregon Sincerely, Virginia Scoggins

« Nice hotel and staff »

At first glance the hotel looks great, however the rooms are old and tiny, as well as the hot tub. The hot tub can only fit 3 adults comfortably, which posed a problem with the hotel being family friendly, having two or three families in the pool area at one time. The complimentary breakfast was amazing, made to order eggs and the best salmon omelet. Maria at the front desk was extremely nice and personable! Heather at the restraunt bar was also very nice and her cucumber martini is delicious! Overall I would consider staying here again.

« Great location for the dunes »

Good breakfast. Omelettes made to order and full breakfast. Pool was nice and basic hot tub did the job/old. Nice view from our balcony overlooking the water and bridge. Great location for the dunes. Were told the dunes 20 min away had the better dunes- Spinreel- They were amazing.

« BEST Customer Service at Best Western »

I have to agree this Best Western is perfectly located across the river from old town with excellent views especially at night. Nice restaurant and bar and breakfast room overlooking the river. Great breakfast had many choices with an omelette bar made to order. Rooms were large and comfortable. We had 4 ladies sharing two queen beds and our room worked out surprisingly well without us getting in each other's way. BUT the best part of this Best Western is the customer service we received from Shawn at check-in. The four of us were doing a girls coast trip and showed up without reservations. Shawn was exceptionally friendly and accommodating in helping us get a slightly larger room than most to accomadate a pull-out bed if we felt we needed but didn't end up using. He was very helpful in giving us advice about the hotel itself and where to go in town. We enjoyed chatting with him and appreciate all that he did to make our stay a most comfortable one. People like Shawn make us want to come back and stay at the hotel again. Thank you Best Western and thank you Shawn!

    « What a view »

Great view of river bridge and downtown Florence especially at sunset and sunrise. We ate the best breakfast: freshly made to order veg scramble at sunrise and the view was unbeatable. Enjoyed not having to listen to blaring TV. Room was modern and comfortable but there is an odor to this place. I think it is musty because of damp wood due to buildings' age. Constant upkeep is always needed where exposed to wet and rain.

    5
« Great hotel for dogs »

Not only is this hotel super dog friendly, but the complimentary breakfast is amazing including gluten free options, and the views from the room are spectacular. There us a gorgeous pool/spa area. Restaurant also good.

    5
    « BEST Best Western »

We have stayed at many many Best Western this trip. Probably close to ten places. THIS Best Western has an indoor pool, a hot tub and a sauna! The gym is pretty good for a Best Western. As is common, a free breakfast in the Breakfast room. The difference HERE is real China plates, real China cups! An awesome Omelette Bar, cooking custom omelette made to order. The room is pretty good, as expected.

    4
    « Excellent customer service »

Shawn and Candy were very helpful when I arrived and realized my reservation had been made for 1 month later than needed, by a coworker. The error was no fault of Best Western! They made us feel welcome and eased a stressful situation.

« Great river view room »

Enjoyed our stay in a king river view room. We used the hot tub in the pool spa area- it was clean and a very nice area. Happy hour specials in lounge was a bonus. Had a very good snack in restaurant.

  • 5
    « Excellent view »

The room was clean, looked right on to the river, and the omelets staff made for your free breakfast were excellent. Good walking distance to old downtown Florence. The room had a couch which made it more comfortable to sit.

« An aging Best Western , still a decent stay »

Several thing I don't usually find in a BW , holes in the outdoor carpet from the towers to rooms , ice machine out of order , big chipped corner on the toilet cover , bathtub mad a weird noise when toilet was flushed and finally , horrible vinyl fake wood floors that stuck to your feet when walking! Breakfast was good , price was good , bed was good .. SO kind of a eh Best Western stay ...

« Cozy place to stay. »

Cozy place to stay. Right on the water. Very friendly staff. Rooms very clean and quiet. Restaurant on site open in the evening. Food and drinks were excellent. In the morning, there is also complimentary breakfast. The driveway to the hotel is the only issue. Kind of difficult to find/see from Highway 101. Will definitely stay here again.

    2
« One night stay...paid way too much money for mid week one night stay »

This was our 3rd time staying here and this will be the last. The room we paid way too much for smelled like chemicals or paint....we opened the patio door through the night and could still smell it. The room was not cleaned well, dirt and grime on the floor, corners of bathtub and bathroom floor corners were nasty!!! Rubber mat in tub/shower had hairs under it! YUCK! When telling staff at checkout about the smell & cleanliness there was no reaction other than, "they did touchup paint work in that room". Breakfast was mediocre....hot food was dry and barely warm. This is the last time we stay here.

    « Crossed wires »

We were in town for the annual Winter Music Festival & I had made reservations a few months in advance for 2 nites, Fri & Sat. However, a few ago, our plans changed & we decided to only stay over Sat nite, so I called the hotel & cancelled Fri nite but kept Sat nite's reservation. We only live about 90 minutes away, but we always like to stay overnite & hang out at the coast with friends who attend the festival. After spending the day listening to great music, we head to hotel to check in & get ready for dinner, we find out that we don't have a reservation & they are completely booked, due to the Festival!! After some digging, we find our reservation is for the NEXT weekend! Now, we don't know whose error it is at this point--mine or theirs. It could go either way. But the front desk staff, Shawn (who we find out is the one who handled my phone call when I called to make the changes) & the young lady (whose name I can't recall, but will update when I do!), who were on duty, were so helpful. First, they called several other hotels in town, but there was no availability. We actually just decided to drive home after the final musical act, as that was the easiest answer. They extended discount coupons for dinner in their restaurant, which we accepted & enjoyed. We also accepted a few of their warm cookies, which were delicious!! I'm sure if we were farther from home, the weather were an issue or we had pushed harder, they would have been able to have found a solution. We were impressed by the customer service & all involved went above & beyond to try to solve a problem that may not have even been their error. Kudos!! We will be back!!

« Sweet spot with great views and super friendly staff »

Perched right above the Suislaw river -- as everyone says -- you have great views of charming Old Town Florence from this BW gem. We were traveling with our toddler and the staff warmly welcomed us and other guests that were checking in (with pets!) at the same time. Our room was spotless and the body lotion amenity smells heavenly. We headed straight for their Bistro and had a super yummy dinner (Salmon, steak and pasta for the little one) and their wines by the glass were quite nice. The next morning we very much enjoyed the breakfast that was all included -- we made waffles and got made-to-order omelettes that were all great. Afterwards, we enjoyed wandering around Old Town and seeing some of the shops. We'll be back for sure!! Next time we're going to hit the dunes nearby :)

    « Terrific overall experience »

The included breakfast was phenomenal! Lisa, who served our dinner in the restaurant and who also cooked our made to order eggs in the morning was fantastic. She made the stay extra special!! The staff were all very friendly and the room was clean, the bed comfortable and the river view pleasing.

« Christmas in Florence with Cujo!! »

Walked in on Saturday afternoon Dec 23 2017 before Christmas and felt very welcomed by Shaun and Candy. Happy that our room was on parking level as hubby really can't do stairs and have a small Yorkie "Cujo". Room was on the far end so not much noise if any that we could tell. Room was clean and well equipped. Could have used a doggy stair for the bed as had to lift Cujo up and down all of the time. Possibly something you could offer in the future? Also a covered walkway from the furthest rooms to the front door would be nice. Had dinner the first and second nights at this hotels restaurant and both were very good and well worth the money. Wait staff was great, Shana made our experience even better. Prime Rib for hubs and Chicken Alfredo for me first night. Second night hubs had the Deep fried fish/prawns/salmon&chips and I had NY strip steak. All meals including breakfast were great and would recommend coming here over say going to the Local Casino for dinner. We were saddened that we had to eat at the casino on Christmas day but appreciate you giving the restaurant staff the day off. We didn't get to meet any of the kitchen staff save for the manager and neither of us got her name (though she did come talk with us about the cute peppers on our plates). You have a beautiful Lobby and dining area both for breakfast and fine dining. The woodwork was well done and in good taste, hope you keep up the great ambiance. Maria signed us out on the 26th and we were sad to go. We do hope to come back for Christmas 2018. Too bad Lincoln city, we have found a better place to visit for Xmas!!

    « Oregon Coast Stopover »

Great Hotel overlooking Florence Oregon and the Suislaw river. Rooms and restaurant had great views. At the time we stayed, they were offering Breakfast omelets which was included in the Price. Omelets included salmon. Clean Comfortable, and Quiet Facility, just south of town. Don't under stand why this Best Western is not a BW Plus.

    5
    « Great accomodation »

Pierpoint Inn is the best hotel in Florence--one of the best on the coast. Very friendly staff, all details and appointments high quality. The views from all rooms are great. Price is a good value. We will be back.

« Pier Point Inn - Florence, Oregon »

This is the most wonderful spot. My home away from home when I come to Florence to visit family. All of the staff and kind, and super helpful. Most recently SHAWN at the front desk took such great care of me when checking in. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Florence for a relaxed and lovely visit. You will feel, welcome, cared for and safe. Always a beautiful experience when I stay here.

    « Amazing Event Venue! »

Since moving to Florence I've had my "annual girlfriend party" in my home. 2016 we had 66 women in our living room. So for 2017 we expected around 100, so we went out to another venue in town but the closer we got to the event the more disorganized the venue became. We were in a serious crisis. We reached out to Steve and Lisa at the Best Western Pier Point Inn and in less than a week they made it happen. We had a blast all the women loved the views and the beautiful room. The servers were great and the event was a huge success for our local Domestic Violence Shelter. Many thanks to Steve and Lisa for their community support and they're willingness to help us in such short notice.

    « Outstanding stay with a view! »

Beautiful hotel with wonderful views of the river, bridge and Florence. Shawn greeted me with professionalism and friendliness that every hotel should mirror after. Dinner at the Bay View Bistro was top notch! The smoked Coho Salmon was excellent; the best I have ever had! The homemade clam chowder and garlic bread completed the meal. The view from the restaurant was very nice. Breakfast was wonderful with a panoramic view of the surrounding river and surrounding areas. The room was very clean and updated making it feel like a 5 star motel. The only downfall was the shower head was barely pushing out water. One suggestion I would recommend is to have a shower head with an extension.

    5
« Everything was nicer than we expected. »

We were greeted by Shawn, the front desk person. He was efficient and very personable and we felt very welcomed. And we got free warm cookies! Our room had a gorgeous view of the river and bridge. The room was large and very comfortable for my husband & I and our dog. Very clean. I went to the restaurant the first night and was served by Andrea who was a great server & I appreciated her honest guidance on menu items. I was privileged to meet Chef Scott and we discussed the special menu items for New Years Eve dinner the next night. Based on that, we decided to eat dinner our second night there. We were served by Lisa, a wonderful southern lady, who was both attentive and fun. The food was superior; kudos to Chef Scott. Breakfast here is REAL eggs cooked to order, among other breakfast buffet items. Sara cooked our eggs exactly as we ordered them and we enjoyed our first breakfast here. Every room and restaurant has a view that is lovely. My husband used the pool & spa and was very impressed by the facilities. Looking forward to our final breakfast tomorrow and we are sad to leave. We will definitely be back. This motel has been here a long time but has been updated and is well managed. It provided a much-needed getaway for me as well as being convenient for my husband's music gigs this weekend. We are very impressed.

« The Staff at BW Pier Point Inn »

The staff that assisted us was terrific! Shawn and Meghan were very friendly and helpful. They genuinely cared about our comfort and enjoyment. The breakfast staff was also wonderful. They, too, were friendly and very attentive. We will be back!

« Would have loved to have been able to stay longer »

After a very long day of driving we arrived at Best Western and were immediately very impressed. We only had one night to stay here and would love to return. Lovely room with great views. Fabulous free breakfast including fresh made omelette to order- excellent. The restaurant offered great choices for dinner and their seafood chowder was fantastic. My husband wasn't feeling well, and one of the waitresses took it upon herself to offer him a small hot toddy to see if it helped...great staff. The indoor pool, spa and sauna would be great to use if we'd had more time. Would love to return.

    5
    « Excellent friendly environment »

Full complementary breakfast available. It has been along time since we stayed at a hotel that offered made to order eggs. Swimming pool very kid friendly, although it is cold down there so take a coat if you aren't in the water.

    « Location, location! »

If you are looking for a motel that has a great view of the river and Old Town, this Best Western is perfect. We visited over the Christmas holidays and really enjoyed both the lights and the scenery.

    « Florence weekend »

Great breakfast, Super friendly staff. Very helpful. Very close to the state park, the dunes et al. Great view of the bay. Room was very clean. Very relaxing area of Oregon. Next time we'll try the dinner Resturant that's in the hotel.

    « R&R Weekend »

Do you really need a reason to get away from the grind and everyday life especially during the Holiday rush of shoppers. These are some of the reasons we use to just get out of town and enjoy life. The change of scenery, weather, people and shopping.

« great staff, great view, great omelettes - otherwise forgettable »

We arrived late after a hard day of driving in pouring rain. Shaun - our check in clerk was extremely helpful and enthusiastic about the property. However, to get to our room we had to be out in the rain and got soaked. the room hvac was from a distant century and didn't help a lot. In the morning the rain had subsided and, turns out, we had quite a nice view. Who knew the breakfast (included) had an omelette station which was unexpected and excellent

    « Stay at PierPoint »

When coming to Florence I try to come to PierPoint. Services are great...nice hot tub/pool/exercise room. The special order breakfast omelettes/scrambles/fried egg breakfasts are not bad. Great service people. Maria helped me out...kind, courteous, friendly, knowledgeable! Enjoyed my stay here once again.

    « Great hotel! »

We love stopping here after a long trip back to Canada from Southern California. It's great to have such a wonderful restaurant on the property so you don't have to leave once you park the car for the night!

« Excellent service and value »

Stayed for 1 night at the Best Western in Oregon, very friendly, helpful staff. Toni & Sara from the breakfast team when out of their way to accommodate my requests on food. Impressed that they even have a "dog" area which is quite convenient when traveling with pets. Rooms, clean, comfortable and spacious. Will stay again.

« Amazing food and customer service »

We came here to enjoy the restarunt we heard they had on site. May I say Andrea was wonderful. Our food was amazing. Shawn at the front desk was extremally helpful in telling us about local attractions. Although I was not a guest I soon will be. Spot on best western, spot on.

    « Business Trip »

I usually stay at a Best Western when I travel and this one is one of the best. It is best situated to the conferences and restaurants in Florence. Plus the view of the river is awesome boats are great.

    « Above expectations... »

We chose to stay at this property in a change of traditions from our regular Thanksgiving traditions. We booked online and that site did not give me the options of entering mobility and the fact that our little dog travels with us. My print-out actually stated preferences will be addressed at check-in. Well I have to say I have never had a smoother experience at check in the with Shawn. He took care of us in an instant and all with a full house. The property has issues for those of us that are impaired but when it is obvious the staff is in the guests corner...that makes all the difference in the world. Super clean and roomy, a great view of the bay and the storm that presented itself. We enjoyed our stay and will stay agtain even knowing the hurdles. It was that good!

    4
« Great views of Old Town Florence and friendly staff »

Loved this property, but they don't have elevators! We were told it is to expensive to retrofit elevators, but maybe they could put in chair lifts so guests with mobility issues could use the wonderful pool and hot tub area. Shawn & Chrystalina were super helpful.

    « River View »

This is a really nice hotel for an older facility. It has a good breakfast buffet and restaurant/lounge. Rooms and restaurant have good views of the Siuslaw River, and it is located close to downtown.

« Best stay of the whole 2wk trip »

Wonderful place to stay. Incredible views of the bay from our balcony, & at night the city lights really add elegance. Cook to order eggs is a first for us in a hotel stay, & was a great surprise. Our check-in clerk Shawn gave us solid information on the facility, & went above & beyond helping us figure out what to do in the area for the next two days. I'd hire him for my own business if he'd move to Arizona. Our rooms were very clean, comfortable & you could tell freshly updated. All around fantastic stay, will most definitely return. I'd give a 5star, but parking is a challenge, at best.

« Clean, quiet and friendly staff »

This is a great hotel, clean, quiet and the staff are very friendly. The breakfast was super with made to order omelettes, real oatmeal and gluten free bread for toast. The room was a rather odd configuration, however I am sure that the reason was because most rooms have a great view of the harbor area - our room definitely did.

Great hotel on the river! Balconies have view of the river and the old town across. Friendly staff. Eggs or omelet cooked to order were perfect. Nice little lounge and restuarant with river view. We had cocktails, but did not eat there. Friendly bartender

A close weekend get away, it's an older hotel but there has been up keep done and it shows. The staff is very nice, rooms are clean, food is very good at breakfast time. Not a bagel and cereal type of show, A true egg, omelet bar cooked as you watch.

    « Business Trip »

I travel all over Oregon on business and I must say that this hotel has some of the best customer service. The breakfast is amazing as well. It is definitely worth the stay for business or for vacation! Some people that were extra helpful are Shawn (at the front desk during check in time), Andrea (at the bar during happy hour) and Candy (at the front desk during check out time).

« Great view, quiet and convenient. »

This hotel is right across the bridge from shopping, historic downtown and casino. Great view of the water and city. The staff was friendly and accommodating. No elevators, your room is accessible from the outside with only one flight of stairs to any floor. It was a nice room, clean and quiet during our stay.

The front desk girls Nissa and Candy were beyond amazing and helpful. Windy the room attendant had our room sparkling. The restaurant had awesome food and the waitress Lisa was the best waitress, she made our trip!

« Comfortable, Clean, and Friendly. »

First off: Florence is not right on the ocean, so you will not have any ocean views. Instead, you will have beautiful partial or full views of the Siuslaw River and Old Town Florence. Also: They are in the middle of renovating the hotel. All the rooms have new windows, but not all the rooms themselves have been renovated. They say that all rooms will be renovated by end of 2018. We got a chance to stay in a newly renovated room. Our check in and check out staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The new renovated rooms are very nice. It was a bit odd with a hardwood floor, but it ties in very nicely with the rest of the decor. The room was well cleaned. Breakfast was your normal basic continental breakfast. Staff was super friendly and upbeat.

    « Great location »

Terrific views of Florence and it's bay. Good value. Nice room. Good breakfast. Even though located right next to Hwy 101, room was very quiet. We've stayed here before, and we certainly will again. Entering and exiting can be a bit tricky, but no real problem.

Thanks to Maria, Candy, Andrea, Shannon, and Jan ( the egg lady), for making my stay comfortable. Also thanks to Kira, Megan and Shiela. I would stay here again. The rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable.

No prior experience with Best Western, I took a chance and found a great way to travel. Extremely helpful staff, clean comfortable rooms, and a great breakfast buffet. All at a reasonable price. What's not to like?

« Great Best Western with awesome view »

Very well kept up, everything is new and modern. There's even a lovely waterfall in the front parking lot. Nice staff. Great views of the bay and the bridge. Breakfast is a giant bonus, well stocked and inviting. Fresh cookies in the evenings so pretty much no complaints!

The staff and amenities could not have been better! The eggs were prepared to perfection. The check-in clerk made sure we are registered in the Best Western Rewards program, and the hot tub was opened early so that we could soak before our conference started.Thank you!

The location of this hotel is great, excellent view of the bay and old town. The rooms are all updated, very clean and comfortable. The bistro/bar is friendly and convenient, the breakfast is like none other!! The breakfast has the usual continental spread (waffles, toast, cereal, hash browns, fruit).....but also offers omelets or eggs made to order. A great breakfast!!!! For the money, this is the best deal in town!!!!

    « Trip to remember »

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this BW, Jan and Sara were wonderful! They made us feel very welcome, we also loved their personalized breakfast with made to order omelettes, frittatas. My husband and son said the sausage gravy was quite good too. Wendy in housekeeping was friendly and did a great job tidying our room, with nice personal touches. Thank you! All the front desk staff were very helpful and personable! We will sing your praises. Thanks for making us feel so welcome and going the extra mile everyone. Also the house Chardonnay was sublime along with top notch cuisine as well! Hotel was very clean. Rooms had a nice elegant simplicity. Pool and hot tub area were also clean Plenty of towels too! Thanks for a great time! ** We stayed 2 nights initially and then headed to see Crater Lake, once done there We decided to come back here for our last night instead of finding another place to stay before heading home. Florence you've got a great thing going at this BW! God bless, The Dollins

« Great Hotel in Florence »

The hotel is located just off 101 before the bridge across into Florence, it was quiet and well maintained. Staff was wonderful; Shawn at the front desk was friendly and helpful & Jan was friendly & a excellent omelet maker! Staff like those two make a place worth coming back to. Room was clean and bed was comfy.

    « Almost perfect »

Room was nicely appointed and beds comfortable. The smoke alarm was disabled due to a dead battery but was promptly corrected after I reported it. They have a small restaurant there, but we were pleasantly surprised by the food quality. The bartender didn't know how to make a Manhattan but whatever she made was still great though. Stunning views. Great breakfast with cook to order omelets. Nice people and great service. Not a high end hotel, but you're also not paying for a lot of glitz you don't need. The price to quality ratio is excellent.

After several hours in the car, a great respite. Maria at the desk was helpful, positive and a great person. Andrea in the restaurant, was wonderful. The room: really nice, great river view; The restaurant;, finally a restaurant with a short menu. The food is excellent. I had the blue cheese burger, and it was really good. I normally don't eat fries, but these were the best I have ever eaten, crisp crisp crisp. Andrea tasted us on a few wines, and she was very knowledgeable, recommending a great local wine. Gem of a place!

« Our stay in Florence Oregon »

Came in from driving from Bend Oregon, needed a place to stay the night. Stayed at Best Western Hotels in past , This one was bit old and outdated. Price was high for the quality of hotel & room. Was clean and comfortable . Staff friendly, but the hotel itself is in need of a good upgrade. Lighting was poor around exterior of room and bit hard to get in and around rooms. Needs a elevator . .

« Wonderful Inn staff and great breakfast. »

We had not visited Florence in years and so glad we stayed at this B/W. Clean, comfortable, great views from the balcony and a wonderful breakfast. Eggs to order. The young lady knows how to make a great omelet because I had two during the 3 days we stayed. Staff was very nice and helpful.

« Best Western Florence Oregon »

We've stayed here before and will stay here again on future trips to the area. The property offers good value for money although the rooms with a view are better than the rooms without a view. The breakfast offering is the best we've experienced among quite a few BW properties, in a great room with a view. The cooked-to-order eggs station is the best. We also ate at the in-hotel restaurant and it was very good: excellent service and great food.

« Best Western Pier Point Inn »

The view from our room was lovely: river, boats, main part of town, etc. The on-site restaurant and bar was very convenient, and the breakfast was more generous than most hotels that provide a free breakfast. The staff was exceptionally helpful, friendly, and efficient.

    1
    « Not for me! »

The hotel was cold and the rooms unwelcoming. Are room included a large rain puddle outside the room which was located in a remote from reception with its own external front door. The room had no carpet and it physically sloped from the bathroom towards to window. The bathroom fan sounded like a jet engine and some kind soul left the radio alarm on for some unearthly hour during the night! The fitness facilities were remote with only a cold shower to use prior to using the pool. The jet pool wasn't working and the devour was very poor. On a final positive note the breakfast was very well presented and the internet was of good quality. Overall I will not recommend this establishment even as a stop over.

    « Hidden jewel »

Driving through the town we were looking for a place to spend the night. This motel was just off the road, but it was worth stopping for. The place was very nice, the staff were welcoming and friendly and the room was very nice for the class of motel it was. The breakfast was also a surprise with a very nice choice and surprisingly a very good omelette bar for a made to order omelette. The only drawback was that the luggage had to be carried up the stairs, at least the staff were nice and offered some assistance. A very nice place to stay in a nice part of the coast. The view from the room with a balcony was beautiful

    « Good nights sleep »

All was great, except for the restaurant. I would suggest going into town and eating anywhere else, even with the 5% discount card they give you with the room. Breakfast however was the best we've ever had at any hotel! Pool was nice, hot tub was small but I think they are in the process of building another one.

« Pleasent stay on trip up the Oregon coast »

We checked in about 3pm and proceeded to the pool, hot tub, and sauna. The rooms are not air-conditioned, not that you needed it. There were a lot of steps so when you make reservations tell them you need ground level if that is important. We ate at the in-house restaurant which is quite good, and my smoked salmon omelette in the morning(included) was excellent.

    « Pleasant staff »

Due to a mess set up in our room reservations we were not satisfied with our rooms. We were The lower level when the rooms were outdated, damp feeling in Musky smelling. Now on the other hand? We complement the staff on their hard work, professionalism and trying to accommodate us better. All the staff from breakfast to check out my surprise. Special kudos for Shawn and Maria. Shawn was terrific at our check in and the next day on advising us on places to go hiking in Florence? And boy was he right on his trails. Also a thank you to Sean for helping us with all her luggage downstairs.

    « Wonderful staff ! »

We stayed for several days at this hotel. Even though the rooms were not as perfect as we had hoped we were so pleasantly surprised by the customer service there. Especially Shawn and Maria at the front desk bend over backwards to make this work for us. Maria tried for a long time to switch rooms around. Shawn also helped out with some hiking trail review and carrying our luggage. The staff at the breakfast place was very very helpful as well and attentive. Thank you guys for making this a pleasant stay !

« Nice staff and breakfast »

The rooms seemed small and getting to the room was a little inconvenient, but the morning breakfast made up for it, better then you get at a restaurant. Also, very friendly and helpful staff. We usually stay at Marriott properties, so I wouldn't say the rooms were as nice as a courtyard, but location and breakfast made up for the room.

« BW Pier Point - Stay Comforted »

We were just passing through on our third night cruising the Oregon Coast highway going North to South. This property is perched on the side of a hill overlooking the Siuslaw River and its Bridge. Check in/out was very efficient. There are three floors accessed by stair towers. It doesn't have an elevator. This wasn't an issue for us. We had a room on the 3rd floor with a balcony overlooking the river & bridge. Room was clean, up-to-date, & comfortable. Only issue was the safety lock was broken. We had dinner at the restaurant which was quite good. The complimentary breakfast includes eggs/omlettes to order. It was also quite good. Overall a comfortable stay!

    4
    « Nice views »

Our room was clean and well maintained. Like all the rooms, it have a very nice view of the harbor and bridge. However, there is nothing within walkng distance, so you're captive there for food without driving. The restaurant ("Bistro") had problems, but I have a separate review of it. The pool/hot tub/sauna are downstairs with no elevator, which could be a concern.

    5
    « Friendly staff »

The location of this lodging is overlooking the south bank of the river which provides a nice view of the old town area and river traffic plus the historic bridge. The facility is well kept modern and convenient. The bistro on site has an excellent menu and helpful staff

    « Best Western letdown »

Best Western brass should stop in now and then. We have stayed at many BW's and they are reliably spiffy. This one not so much. Wifi wouldn't work on phone or ipad. The room smelled musty and the deck rails needed repair. On the upside the dinner was decent and the included breakfast satisfied. Not a terrible stay but the price had us expecting better. We might check other lodging in future visits.

    4
« Very nice hotel with balcony view »

Enjoyed staying here with our pet. We had a balcony view and the room had just been updated. Very nice. Easy parking right outside the room for quick in and out loading. Nice on-site restaurant with very good food.

    « High Priced »

The price was way to high for the quality of the motel, it is definitely showing it's age. The staff was very professional and the breakfast was exceptional. The price affected my scores on the survey. We would have stayed elsewhere if there had been any vacancies. I usually stay at Best Western when available. I have stayed at much nicer for less money.

« Our family's stay at the Bay View Pier Best Western in Florence,Oregon »

Our family stayed at this hotel for the first time. We met wonderful staff people. We love the our prepared room, we loved the breakfast settings and we love our stay. We would like to recognize the following staff workers for their excellent services during our stay: Sine, Lisa and Kim. I would like to nominate these personnel for employees of the month.

    4
« Excellent stay except for poor WIFI service »

All of the rooms have a wonderful view of the river and the bridge. Plus, they have a very good restaurant as part of the hotel. But, the biggest PLUS goes to their free breakfast. Where else do you get a free breakfast that includes made to order eggs and omelettes! And the lady doing all the hard work of making these wonderful breakfasts had the absolute best attitude and was a joy to interact with. She deserves a special mention. Unfortunately, the WIFI was very intermittent and slow. Otherwise, it was a very good stay.,

« Pet Friendly and People Friendly »

We stayed here for five nights, and the staff really made us feel welcomed and at home. The front desk folks were very nice, as was everyone we encountered on the housekeeping staff. We were travelling with our dog. When I made the reservation, I asked about their pet policy. Although it specifies that pets may not be left unattended in the room, they told me that this wouldn't be a problem, as long as our dog wasn't noisy or destructive. It was important for us to be able to leave the dog in the room while we were 4-wheeling on the dunes or out for a day of fishing. Our dog is small, quiet and well-behaved, and it was great that were able to leave him in his crate in the room on those days when it was impractical to have him with us. We put the do-not-disturb sign on the door when he was in the room by himself, fully understanding that our room might not be made up on those days. But the housekeeping staff always cheerfully came by our room when we returned in the late morning or early afternoon, and cleaned the room for us each day. They also seemed to love pets. One housekeeper told us that seeing these four-legged guests was the best part of her job. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The on-site bar/restaurant is very good. The hotel is about a mile from downtown Florence, which has several restaurants and some interesting shops. We walked downtown one night for dinner, but it was a little harrowing. You have to walk along Hwy 101, and across a bridge that has a narrow sidewalk. It was scary walking that close to traffic at night, so after our first night there, we either ate in our room or at the on-site restaurant. They serve a hot breakfast to guests in the morning, which includes the option for made-to-order eggs, and also includes potatoes, fresh fruit and biscuits/gravy and some tasty sausage. The gravy was very good, with nice chunks of sausage in it. The biscuits, though, had an off-taste to them. One star of the show was their fresh salsa, which was made with sweet chunks of fresh tomato. Service at the made-to-order egg station was hit-or-miss. They lost my husband's order one morning, and got our orders wrong on two other occasions. But still a good meal, all things considered. The hotel sits on a relatively small piece of property, so space is at a premium in their parking lot. This made it feel a little hectic when walking the dog as vehicles were navigating through the parking lot. There is a small, dog-walking area off the parking lot, containing a tree stump and some artificial grass. My dog was reluctant to set foot on it, and I spoke to another guest who said her dog had the same reaction. There is a nice area below the hotel and above the river that can be accessed from the overflow parking lot. This was a good place to walk the dog, using the waste bags provided at the designated pet area. The only downsides here are that the walkway between the overflow lot and the hotel is a somewhat steep, and arthritic animals might have some difficulty walking back up hill to the hotel. And this area isn't fully lighted at night. Our room was located on the first floor, which is actually one level below the ground floor. It had a nice view of the river, and a private balcony. It had two queen beds. We would have preferred a king-sized bed. We learned from the front desk that some of the pet friendly rooms do have king-sized beds. These are located on the second floor (which is the ground floor). We also learned that the second and third floor rooms have better views than the first floor. If we stay here again, we will definitely request a second floor room, so that we can get a pet-friendly room with a king bed, and also so that we don't have to lug our belongings up or down the stairs. (There are no elevators at this hotel.) Bottom line: This is a nice facility with exceptional service, and we would definitely stay here again if we are in the area. A few other pros and cons: Pros: *Rooms include a coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, and safe. *The bathroom has a shower/tub combination. The tub was nice and big, and there was plenty of hot water. We had to move the ice bucket, coffee maker and coffee off of the vanity, but once we did, there was ample room to lay out one's toiletries. *They have free wi-fi, with good speed and connection. *There was a good amount of closet and dresser space. Cons: *Instead of offering small, individual containers of shampoo, bath gel and conditioner, there was a dispenser for these items attached to the wall in the shower. It was mounted under the shower head. Fine if you are taking a shower, but inconvenient if you are taking a bath. It is the kind of feature that I associate with lower-end properties and with the shower rooms at the gym. *The bathroom fan didn't remove the steam after we'd used bath or shower. Florence is very humid, which probably contributed to the excessive condensation in the bathroom. *While other reviewers have noted that their pet-friendly rooms had wood flooring, our room had carpet. There was a slight smell of pet urine in one corner of the room, which was unpleasant when you caught a whiff of it as you passed that section of the room.

    4
    « 4 stars »

Great pet friendly hotel. No carpeting which is a huge plus. Wish other pet friendly hotels would follow suit. Nice breakfast including made to order omelettes and egg scrambles. Convenient parking. Rooms with balconies overlook river. On site restaurant offers good food. Dining room is a bit stark so we ordered room service. We'll be back.

« Comfortable, Great View, Great Restaurant »

Perfect location with a phenomenal view. Clean, well maintained rooms. Ultra friendly staff. Stephanie and Nissa went out of their way to help me with my evacuation from Brookings and provided flexibility in how long my stay would be in Florence. Kim does a nice job in keeping the room in order. Friendliest staff I have found at a hotel. The view of the bridge and river from the room is fantastic. Proximity to sand dunes and ocean couldn't be better - down the road a bit. Restaurant has tasty menu choices, great view over the river, and decent prices. I will not hesitate to return.

« Cool and Comfortable with Best Western Pier Point Inn ! »

A heat wave in Eugene prompted a stay on the cool coast . I feel so fortunate that I spent my visit in Florence at the Best Western Pier Point Inn. The newly remodeled hotel perches high above the picturesque Siuslaw River with views of the Old Bay Front across the water. My 3rd floor room was quiet, spotless. The bed and bedding were extremely comfortable. The staff was friendly and eager to please. The new luggage lock on my suitcase was stuck, locked, on my suitcase and wouldn't open !The maintenance man rushed over- on his day off -and took the lock off for me !! I had an excellent stay here and highly recommend this hotel !

« Thanks to BW Pier Point Inn »

On August 19th, we held my mother's 90th birthday party in the conference room. We booked the room in February. During the months preceding the party, I had many, many questions come up and the staff never failed to give me the full attention and help that I needed. Sabrina, the front desk manager, Ann, Nissa, David and others that unfortunately I did not get names, could not have been more accommodating. With their help, the party went off without a hitch and was perfect in every way. A special thanks to John for arranging the surprise wine delivery from our family in New York. The conference room faced the river and the guests were awed by the beauty of the river, the bridge and views of Old Town. Thanks to all of you for making my mother's 90th birthday such a special day. I will absolutely recommend Pier Point Inn.

Best for views, and their great breakfasts. Room itself was alright. We ran out of hot water after a short time showering, which doesn't seem like something that should happen at a hotel of this quality. Breakfast was definitely a highlight. You could have eggs cooked to order, make your own waffles, 2 different sizes.Front desk staff was very friendly as was those working the breakfast.

« Beautiful inn, spacious rooms, but the staff's hospitality makes it *great* »

We recently spent a night at the Pier Point Inn on an ten day road trip throuoghout the northwest. We arrived late and were warmly welcomed and efficiently checked in by Ray. We slept a little late this following morning and almost missed the free breakfast. In fact, I arrived at the breakfast room with less than ten minutes before it would be over at 10:00. Autumn, who was making custom omelettes, could not have been more gracious. She made me a smoked salmon omelet (so good!) and chatted amiably as she did so. Antonia helped me figure out the waffle machine and left the syrup setup out because my son was running even later than I. I was so impressed at how friendly and helpful they were. The staff at many hotels would have made us feel unwelcome and (justifiably, perhaps) self-centered for being so late. I felt guilty as it was. Yet Autumn and Antonia went out of their way to make me feel at home and to make sure our late breakfast was every bit as ample as those who showed up on time. The hotel itself is lovely. Each of our rooms had a balcony that overlooked the Oregon waterfront. The rooms were quiet and the beds were comfortable. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. They really know the meaning of hospitality. We will definitely be back.

Very accommodating! This is our second family trip to the dunes and we couldn't have been happier. Kellie in the restaurant, Ray and Candy at the front desk always had our best interests in mind! We had two very large trailers, a wide range of ages and a family that appreciates good food. Not to mention the warm freshly baked cookies every night was a real treat! The complementary breakfast every morning totally exceeded expectations especially the omelette bar. We will definitely be back!

    « Very mixed feelings »

Great view but not worth the price. I think we paid $50 for the room and $150 for the view!! Facility is becoming dated and in need of fixing. Most important thing is you must call them ahead if you cannot go up or down stairs, no elavator to the rooms. Don't take showers during peak period as hot water will be in short supply. According to one of their staff, the hot tub does not jet bUT just circulate the hot water! ! NOT!! The front desk were all superb!! Especially a young lady named Danielle (I know wrong spelling!!), she went out of her ways to help. Breakfast would have been so so if it was not for the cook to order egg section which made this BW unique. Our room attendant Kitty was very thorough as was room maintenence when we had a couple of issues. Overall, good was great and not so good was very bad.

« Great view, handy stopover »

Looking over the river, the hotel is stretched along the bank, so rooms are a walk away from reception , up or down external wooden steps- bit confusing to find from the rather random instructions issued at reception. Reception itself rather offish seemed we disturbed some important task, but begrudgingly efficient. Modest room with a view of the river obscured by foliage, good bathroom, comfy beds and clean . Wi fi a little patchy- probably better in the upper rooms? Ate in the bistro, pleasant enough place, and server efficient if a little dour. Food was basic but good - and arrived promptly. We appeared to overstay our welcome, and were denied pudding as the kitchen closed before we could order- I guess it was a quiet night. Good nights sleep even though the hotel seemed busy. Breakfast in a very pleasant dining room with a view, a disappointing offering of fruit, but plenty of bread, cake, Celtics and a waffle machine! Plenty of staff milling around the place, so tables cleared efficiently and the chefs cooked up great eggs- once I had grasped the ordering process that involves completing an order form. Overall a good, comfortable stay despite the unusual layout. Ask for a room on the upper floor if you can manage stairs!

    « Nice Hotel »

We enjoyed our one-night stay in Florence, OR. Hotel was nice with the exception of no shampoo in the dispenser and lighting was a little dim in the room. Otherwise, if you are going to stay here, be sure to opt for a room with a view of the river. Peaceful and quiet. Nice breakfast with made-to-order omellets! All in all, a very nice place to stay!

« Vacation to visit family in June and July. Your place was overpriced. »

The room smelled like stale farts. I was too tired to complain after Internet down. Floor was not level. View was of outside stairs. Staff tried their best with Internet. Breakfast was very good. So was the cafe.

    « Lisa's Breakfast »

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and love it. Great rooms, great view, great service but we make a point of staying here now because of Lisa's breakfast. Lisa is, as she says, a southerner voluntarily trapped in Oregon...and can she cook. The complimentary breakfast is a cut above any we have had in North America. My husband dreams about the wild salmon omelettes. This time she even used the same ingredients to make him eggs over easy with the salmon on the side. We'll be back.

    « Bad Stay »

Room had candy under bed ruffle we didn't see until we were checking for items before we left. Heater fan was noisy and squeaked. When we complained we were given a space heater. Breakfast was about average. had better at Quality Inn. Staff was friendly. I consider this hotel below average at a price of 200.00 a night was definitely not worth it.

« Rooms a little small, but clean and quiet and awesome breakfast »

This hotel may seem a little expensive at first considering the size of the room you get, but it does have a nice view and, most importantly, the included breakfast is really good. We've stayed at a lot of these hotels that include breakfast, and this is one of the best. They have the usual waffle makers (2 of them), sausage, potatoes, muffins, fruit, etc. All good quality. However they have 2 things almost no other hotel breakfasts at this price have: 1. A made-to-order omelet bar with multiple types of meats, cheeses, and vegetables. Nice! 2. _Homemade_ biscuits and gravy. I didn't know it was homemade when I took it, but at the first taste I could tell it was in a different league than the typical, pre-made gravy these types of hotels usually use. Then I noticed a sign that said it was homemade, and I asked one of the ladies making omelets. She said it was her dad's recipe and she's perfected making it in bulk for the hotel. Soooo good. She was extremely friendly, too. So for a family of 4, you could probably subtract $40 a night from the price to account for the breakfast. It also has a good location for doing stuff at the sand dunes and beach which are less than a minute away by car. The only negative thing I can think of is the parking lot is kind of narrow, though we never had trouble finding a spot.

« Everything great but no hot water »

This was a nice hotel with a nice view of old town but not getting hot water for a shower put a damper on our overall review. The rooms were clean and quiet. The restaurant also had a great view and good food.

« NOT GREAT FOR DOGS »

This was a lovely motel with stellar views of the river! Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Ray at the front desk and Kim in housekeeping. We were there over the 4th of July and enjoyed the fireworks from our balcony. The made to order breakfast buffet was a nice treat. The reason I only gave 3 stars is because we were traveling with dogs and requested a room on the first floor. We got the first floor all right but it was NOT GROUND LEVEL. It was like in a basement. I'm very disappointed that this was not spelled out to us at the time we made our reservation 4 months in advance. There are only 2 rooms at ground level that allow dogs so we were unable to move. This put a huge damper on our time there. Also, the area reserved for dogs to do their business is very inadequate! There is just a small patch of fake grass and it was always covered in poop that other RUDE dog owners did not bother to pickup, even though bags and trash were provided right there. There was not a good place to walk dogs either as the motel is on a hill and a narrow street. My friend was actually forced off the road while walking her dogs and fell and fractured her elbow. Not a good ending to our dog saga.

    « Breakfast & View = Top Features »

Loved the extensive view of the Siuslaw River. The complimentary breakfast buffet was exceptional. Special shout-out to the "chef" that prepares the omelet/scramble to order. The ingredients were fresh and appealing--including smoked salmon. Another highlight was the sausage gravy. I usually don't do meat, but I broke down and found it delectable!

    « Great Location »

We stayed three nights at the hotel and the room was very comfortable! The staff was very friendly! The parking was a little tight especially on the weekend! We had a great view of the river. Breakfast was so so.... One major drawback is no elevator! We had one flight of steps we had to carry our luggage up and down! For senior people not great!

    3
« Connecting rooms- can hear EVERYTHING! »

A bunch of teenage girls were up till 2AM and again at 7:30AM. The room had the connecting doors (adjoining rooms) which are usually not a good thing, but these ones are like paper thin and clank around with the opening of main doors in either room. Super lame when you are with your 7 month prego wife! Do NOT STAY in room 458 (pretty sure that was the number). Also super confusing layout for pretty much the entire hotel. Stairs are super funky and NO elevators for any floor!!!

« Greatest Place to Stay »

Great staff, food, view. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Sauna, jacuzzi, and pool. Made to order breakfasts ... omlettes, frittatas, scrambled eggs. Had a wonderful view of the harbor. Ate dinner at the bistro, all four meals were excellent.

« Breach of room by unwanted Man who had same key card »

awakened at 2 am with a Man opening my door with a key card and my security bar prevented him from entering and he loudly said that he had that room and I awoke and told him I had that room booked since Feb. and to go to the front desk. I do not think he was malicious or aggressive. It is just the principal of the thing that I was shaken and disturbed and frightened to death.

This hotel is reliably great-fantastic staff, great breakfast ( I mean, they make you a personal omelet!) and rooms overlooking river. Perfect place to stay while exploring area-like sandboarding or swimming in one of the lakes or eating BJ's ice cream.

    « Service with a smile »

From the moment we arrived at reception we were welcomed with smiles and friendly conversation from our receptionist, Candy, who gave us a tour of everything the Inn had to offer. We then had a beautiful meal and dessert at the in-house restaurant, The Bay View. We were served by Dana who was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Chef Joe made a number of tasty and fresh dishes- perfect after a few hours' drive! The restaurant is small and cosy allowing the guests to engage in conversation. There is a stunning view of the bay from both the restaurant and rooms. A big thank you to all at Pier Point for looking after us on honeymoon; our upgraded room was a real treat. We'll be recommending Florence and the inn to our Irish friends!

We had a great stay exploring the area and doing a super fun and wild dune buggy ride. Hotel is beautifully situated on the river over looking town and the bridge. Even though it backs on to Highway 101, it is quiet. Beds nice, breakfast good.

    « Excellent! »

Room was clean and spacious. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. But the best part of our stay was the beautiful view of the river from our balcony. We are usually happy with Best Western but this one really exceeded expectations.

    « Great value - great stay »

We chose this place as it allowed pets and because of its reputation, and we are very happy we did. The entire staff was friendly and helpful, but the highlight (and a bit of a surprise) came in the form of food. Our meals at the restaurant were marvelous and the staff very knowledgeable and helpful. The made to order eggs in the morning were a delight and the coffee was pretty darn good. All in all, a great stay and we recommend the Pier Point Inn very highly!

« way too many stairs »

My family and I went there memorial weekend for a few nights. Got there and the office person said it was easier to show us where our room was rather than explain it. We had to go down 10 steps, turn left, then turn right, go down 6 more steps, turn left again, then go down 5 more steps. Then to get to the pool we had to go back up to the office area and go down 4 flights of stairs. SERIOUSLY!!!!! I have to wonder who likes going down all these stairs?? When we checked out there were 2 people at the desk, one was busy checking people out and the other was on the phone to probably the manager or owner stating she had received 2 complaints so far. Well, here's another one.... Save the phone call for when everyone is checked out!

« Beautiful view and excellent breakfast »

My room was very clean and had a balcony overlooking the river and Old Town Florence. It was very beautiful to see the city lights on the water at night. All the staff was very kind and professional. The breakfast is AMAZING! With biscuits and homemade gravy. The breakfast staff was on top of everything, making sure that everything was stocked. My husband and I's omelets were made by Sara and they were PERFECT. It's rare to get an omelet that isn't overcooked. We will definitely be back, thanks for the great service.

« Great hotel and breakfast »

Best Western Pier Point Inn was perfectly clean, quiet, overlooks the river, and is right off highway 101. Breakfast was included with the night's stay: omelette made to order, fruit, homemade biscuits and gravy. Everything was perfect, again, overlooking the water. Shops and restaurants are less than 5 minutes away, right across the bridge.

    « Wonderful experience »

We arrived in Florence without a reservation but the Pierpont Inn had a room. When we arrived they welcomed us and when they found out that we were on our 50th wedding anniversary trip, they made this stop memorable for us. Our room was great, overlooking the river and bridge. They offered discounts for our dinner and covered our drinks to celebrate our anniversary. They were extremely warm and welcoming

« comfortable with nice views »

We booked through a third party vendor so I anticipated we'd get a room on the lower level or overseeing a garbage container, or by the laundry room, or, or.... We were pleasantly surprised to be on a main level with a patio and a great view of the water. The hotel is older, a little outdated, but it's very clean. The only issue I had was having an ice bucket and a coffee maker in the bathroom?!?! I travel quite a lot, but have never seen a coffee maker in the bathroom. Made me skip the ice bucket and everything else just because... The jacuzzi was closed, as it was being remodeled and/or fixed. I couldn't find the fitness center, but they said it exists. On another positive note, breakfast is great. Omelettes are made based on your tastes, which was a very pleasant surprise!

    5
« Pleasantly surprised again and again! »

From the moment we arrived the staff is not only courteous and helpful but went out of their way to make sure our needs were met actually coming down to bringing this cluster polish our motorcycles after a morning dew. Then we woke up and had an excellent custom breakfast made to order by the staff which was out of this world. Later that night I took a dip in a clean Jacuzzi spent time in the sauna and had a wonderful cool chill pool that head wide open windows overlooking the bay and the carnival across the bay My overall experience with this hotel was five star excellent Not only that but I don't sleep well away from my house and I slept like a baby the two nights I was there.

« Superb service and beautiful views from the rooms »

This hotel is nestled into the hillside along the Siuslaw riverbank and has excellent views of the north bank historic downtown and the river bridge. The service is excellent and very friendly. The rooms are not large, but well decorated and comfortable beds. As mentioned - the view is great. All three floors of the hotel all have river views. Breakfast is well above par, with a broad range of choices from the buffet including waffles and fresh fruit, as well as chef made omelets. Dine overlooking the river. Parking is limited and cramped. Not much room for large vehicles (we thankfully have a small rental). There is no interior passageways to the lobby and rooms, so we got a little wet. Not a big deal. Prices were a little high, but for the view, excellent service, and great dining, we feel we received a fair deal and would recommend this hotel to our friends.

« Not a Good Match for Us with Dogs »

My spouse, daughter and I stayed here Mother's Day weekend, having chosen the place for its reviews, romantic setting and pet friendly policy. However, we failed to consider how close it was to a beach, the main reason we go to the coast, much less how friendly it would actually be for our dogs, which it was not. Upon arriving we were asked to sign an agreement that we would pay a $300 fine if our dogs made a mess in the room, not a problem, they are grown and well trained dogs who travel in crates, etc., but policy was more extreme than we have encountered elsewhere. Further, upon arriving in our room, we noticed large stains on the carpet, maybe from prior dogs or who knows what. I called the front desk and they assured me we would not be charged for the stains. OK but were the last people charged, and why hadn't the stains been removed? Then when we went to take our dogs out, we discovered the only place they could go was to a small strip of astro turf, which had poop left from prior owners. The end of the parking lot is clearly marked no dogs, and walking up the road to the highway, we encountered heavy traffic. The only comfortable way to take them out was to drive somewhere, same thing for a walk on the beach. We had a room that was accessed by walking down stairs behind the building, which felt unmaintained and dreary; you don't get the charming feeling of the front view, as you don't see it while staying there. We didn't use the pool or hottub, as they were so far away, through the parking lot and past the front desk, and there was only a small hottub made for four, six at most, operating when we checked. Aside from the stained carpet, our room was comfortable and we enjoyed our view of the river, though partially obscured by trees (most higher floor rooms not for pets), and it was fun to see the lights across the river at night. The highlight was the free breakfast with made to order omelets; both my spouse and I found the smoked salmon omelet outstanding. In all, the view and breakfast could not make up for the inconveniences we felt, especially when we paid over $175 for a single night. We have actually stayed at three other Best Westerns recently and found them better maintained and quite pet friendly, even offering bones at the front desk; while that's not necessary, an adequate place to walk and relieve our dogs is a minimum we would expect. We'd opt for something more pet friendly and closer to the beach next time.

    4
« Pleasant, affordable, pet friendly, great restaurant/room service »

Went there for a weekend stay a couple weeks ago. Brought our dog, and you can't leave them in the room alone, so we ordered dinner through room service. It was excellent, didn't take long. Rooms are not fancy, but have everything you need. little fridge, microwave, sliding doors to little balcony. Flat screen TV. Overlooking a canal and close to charming old town. Close to sand dunes. The only thing I'd be concerned about is handicap access. There are lots of stairways outside going to each level, but I didn't see ramps. Maybe there's an elevator, but I didn't see it.

« Ultimate setting for an Oregon Beach Town Experience. »

This Hotel is nestled along the Bay with beautiful view of Bridge and Downtown Florence. Very clean, comfortable rooms, and an exceptional service staff. Delicious breakfast with to order omelettes. Only negative, is the cheapest room is on the lower level without a window. Beware !!!

« comfy, sweet view, easy. »

we loved our quick stay in Florence. the view looking out across the bay takes in a bridge, a small town snuggled against the piers, birds, trees, nature & beauty. the beds were great & the room was clean & quiet. the check in gal was super sweet, as was the room service guy. food was delish, fast, savory. breakfast incl. an omelet bar plus the usual's, yummy & a added surprise. great AM crew as well. so wish we could have explored the town but our stay was brief. and very nice; look forward to visiting with more time!

« Dog tolerant (not friendly) »

So for a big price, our dog was allowed to stay. But we had to put him in the car if we went to breakfast or the spa. Nice pool, but one of the spas is broken. No dressing room unless you count the bathroom. It's a motel, so no coming or going in you spa togs. Very weird. The room wasn't ready so they agreed to let us know when it was ready and we waited by the pool. Too much trouble to call us I guess. The breakfast was wonderful and the rooms and view are fine. Our parking was limited due to big garbage containers in the lot. I guess I expected more.

We are traveling north on the Oregon coast. getting into Florence we checked out this hotel, Candy the lady at the counter was very helpful and we decided to stay. The staff was what made our stay very enjoyable. Check-in was easy and check out even easier. Breakfast was very good with fresh waffles and eggs cooked to order. every effort was made to make our stay comfortable and worry free. Liked the on site restaurant so once we arrived, no need to look further for a nice place for dinner.

« Good building and free breakfast, mediocre restaurant »

Generally satisfactory with the exception of the restaurant where we ate our evening meal. The room view from Room 344 was excellent, the staff were pleasant, and our impressions generally favorable. There is no elevator and the stairs to our upper floor level were steep.

    3
« Staff was good but there were issues »

It's tough to give a rating because overall the staff was great, the room was clean and the free breakfast was above average. One problem was we were given a room in the pet section even though we had no pet. When we made the reservation we were listed as needing a pet friendly room for some reason but that was an error. When we checked in we were still given a room in the pet section. The result was a neighbor with a dog that barked off and on throughout the day. The other issue is the floor sloped in our room, especially in the bathroom. I'm not sure what can be done about it and I realize this motel has been here for many years but I thought I would mention it.

    5
« Pier Point Inn does not disappoint »

This hotel appears a little outdated from the outside, but it is a diamond in the rough. The view is wonderful to wake up to, the rooms are clean, and the free continental breakfast boasts an omelet bar, complete with someone who will prepare it especially for you!

We had a wonderful stay that the Best Western Pier Point Inn. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was wonderful, and the river views were amazing. Our room was very clean and the overall facility was well taken care of and provided a relaxing atmosphere for our whole family. The cookies and coffee in the lobby are always a hit and something we looked forward to each day. It was nice to have to pool inside, so we could enjoy it even when it rained or was windy outside. We have stayed here twice and we would gladly stay here again. The Restaurant on site was very nice, but a little pricey for the quality of the meals. The food was good, but not great. They seem to be improving though.

The room was clean, nice view of river from third floor room, bed and bedding was comfortable, good sized room. Bathroom fan came one at all times with the light and was extremely noisy which was not great in the middle of the night. Also, floor in room is linoleum, not carpeted which was different, but not objectionable. Breakfast very good with omelets/eggs made to order. Friendly staff. Good location. Great restaurant for evening meal. Would stay here again.

« Great Views, quiet, comfy beds »

This is a nice place to stay in Florence. Our room was extremely clean and the bed was really comfortable. I think they were remodeling the third floor, so they are definitely updating their rooms. The pool and hot tub area are nice, though we didn't use them. We had a drink at the bar one night (great margarita, nice people). The hotel has great views of the Siuslaw Bridge and the river. We would definitely stay here again.

« One of the top Best Westerns »

My wife and I travel a fair amount, both for business and for leisure and stay in varied property's, and of all the Best Westerns we have stayed this property is TOPs. She might show a little ware and tear on the outside but that is unavoidable with the Oregon coast weather, (heck when we checked in the power was out due to a storm) That said the true value of the hotel and staff outshine the dark windy storms of the coast. The rooms are immaculate, the staff true professionals with a touch of homeyness that makes you feel as though you have known one another for years. The breakfast bar was astounding, with call to order omelets, steel cut oatmeal, and a cornucopia of sweet breads, fruits and breakfast meats. Here again the breakfast staff shine, helpful yet unobtrusive, true professionals The only breakfast bar I can truly say is comparable would be the breakfast bar at the Bali Grand Hyatt, executive club. Overall just a wonderful property.

Stayed here when attending a concert at the Florence Events Center. Most rooms have beautiful river views. All rooms have exterior access which can be wet in rainy Florence. He upgraded our room which was totally unexpected, but appreciated. Great restaurant and lounge on-site. The made to order eggs for breakfast was excellent. We'll be back!

« Beautiful Hotel on the Siuslaw River »

The Best Western in Florence is one of the nicer places to stay in town. It has great views of Old Town from its restaurant and most of the rooms. The only slight downside is that it is across the bridge from most of Florence and on the outside of town. If you don't have a vehicle it may be troublesome going back and forth into town. Other than that, the Best Western is a great hotel that most people would enjoy.

« The view, the room and the restaurant. Peaceful, quiet. »

We spent a night at this lovely motel located right on the river across from the town of Florence, OR. What a beautiful, peaceful view. In the evening the lights of town reflect on the river and the bridge is lighted. We had requested a room with no or very few steps and received a beautiful room up a slight ramp. The room was beautifully and comfortably furnished with a king bed (good mattress), leather loveseat, desk with leather chair, coffee table. The bathroom was large with a beautiful granite tub shower. The room had a small refrigerator and a small microwave. The little deck overlooking the river had two very comfortable chairs and a small table. From the deck or room we could view the distant traffic on the bridge and the boats on the river. It appeared that most, if not all, rooms were river front. The breakfast was restaurant comparable: made to order omelets, eggs cooked as specified, hot and cold cereal, waffles and the other items one would expect. The view of the river was fantastic. This is the place to stay and eat. Nice pool and exercise area. We will definitely return here if we need a motel in the area.

« Good but an odd layout »

We really enjoyed our stay. Check-in was smooth, the room was nice and clean, everything was as expected. The only odd part was that there was not an elevator so we had to carry our luggage up and down the stairs. Up stairs into the hotel, down the stairs to get to our floor and then up some stairs to get into our room. The layout was interesting. We were in room 458, king bed with sofa sleeper and view. Breakfast was good, the pool had a nice view and all in all I recommended the hotel. Duners- the parking lot was kinda tight but it appears the hotel has a truck and trailer parking lot just down the road toward the bridge. And the Florence dunes are a very short drive.

« Room Too Hot - Could have been a better experience »

We stayed here as a family of 3 on a Saturday night in October 2016. We had a not so great 4 hour drive due to bad weather before so we just wanted a nice comfortable room. Well the room was comfortable, but as the hotel appeared to be at close to full capacity due to a 'womens retreat' weekend we were put in a room downstairs next the the hotel laundry. This was okay as it had a very nice sheltered river view, but as it turns out the rooms have no A/C and only heating. This would have been fine but our room wouldn't get below about 80 degrees (26c) and we had to open windows to allow air to circulate. When we addressed this with reception the following day the lady was quite rude and told us we should have ordered a fan, that was all. The hotel is clean and tidy and has nice views and provides a full breakfast. However those with bad knees or hips may have issues as there are a lot of steps to get to most rooms, not many rooms are located at ground level. We would choose another hotel if coming again.

    « Wow! What a view! »

When we first arrived I was kinda disappointed there was no T.V. by the bar towath the game. But the view made up for that...The rooms are really nice. Th breakfast in the morning is OUTSTANDING! Kitchen staff were on their toes tomake sure we were well fed. Thumbs upto DEBRA en SARAH! They made our breakfast XTRA special.

« Every part of our stay here was great. »

The view room was neat and clean. The outstanding part of this Best Western was the complimentary breakfast. No disposable cutlery and dishes...a great change from other places we stayed. Made to order eggs --loved the poached egg. The marrian berry syrup on the waffles was the best! All enjoyed sitting at a window table looking out at the view...awesome. Friendly helpful staff. Thanks for making us feel welcome when it was pouring rain...oh yes the warm cookie at the check-in counter was super too.

« Hotel right on the river »

Stayed for one night. Room was small but clean and quiet. Small balcony overlooking the Siuslaw River. Was more expensive that some nicer hotels we stayed in. The best thing about this hotel was the breakfast - it was great! Freshly made omlets, real oatmeal, we loved it.

    « Awesome Hotel »

I frequently stay at Best Western whenever I am in Florence. The hotel has a beautiful view of the River. Accommodations were impeccable the staff was friendly and helpful. I always enjoy the fine breakfast the provide in the morning. It has very relaxing friendly hotel. With the slowly flowing by it feels very peaceful. When in Florence, stay here you will enjoy it!

Great view of the Siuslaw River . Lots of shopping close in. Clean and comfortable Hotel with Great Staff and good food, one of the best breakfasts around . I always stay at the Pier Pointe when in Florence.

    « Always a positive experience! »

We've been to this Best Western four or five times as a family or couple and each time it's been a great experience. They have a great omelette breakfast with a view. Each time we've stayed the beds have been excellent and provided a good night sleep. This last time I missed the fresh hot chocolate chip cookies. Need to be earlier next time.

    « Epitome of hospitality »

The staff at this hotel was very friendly and helpful. Everyone greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome. The free breakfast was very good, considering it was free and the room was very nice with comfortable beds, clean room, coffee maker, fridge and microwave. The view from our 1st floor room was fantastic and i look forward to staying there again.

« Awesome Place! Beautiful View »

This hotel was awesome starting with April who checked me in quickly and she was very informative and accommodating. The room was comfortable the view from the chair patio was awesome! Then I met some friends at the restaurant the bistro had a view of the lake that was off the hook the hostess was marvelous. Our waitress Richelle "Rey Rey" was fun friendly gave us great service and the food recommendations were off the hook! Chef John outdid himself the rice pilaf was amazing one of my friends had the stuff chicken and the other one of my friends had salmon and I had a mushroom burger that just melted in your mouth. For dessert two of my friends at the brownie with ice cream Yum and I had them not to be missed berry cobbler! This was a great place to stay I will recommend it to all my friends. One of the ladies it was with me is going to tell her kids about it right away. This is a restaurant that you can go if you're looking for an elegant night out celebrating an anniversary or if you have children or looking for casual dining it has a little bit of both. It's very elegant and yet extremely casual as well. My stay at the best Western Pierpoint in was something that I would like to repeat again the next time I'm in Florence. Richelle and April made what was a very rough day and absolutely awesome night. Thank you so much ??

    « Celebrating anniversary »

The room was very nice. We left the patio door open to listen to the rain. The big storm was not too bad. It was very nice and we will stay again. We did notice the floor is sloping towards the river and this was a little disconcerting :)

    5
« great location and great views »

The staff is very helpful and friendly. The location is great because they are right across the bridge from the waterfront. I heard that the restaurant is great but we already had our hearts set on another restaurant across the river. The breakfast with made to order omelettes was a wonderful addition. The rooms are quiet and pleasant.

« THE BEST, Best Western! »

We've visited this property now 4 times and have NEVER been disappointed! Great Staff, all willing to help with any problem, but we've never had one! Everyone connected with this property is TOP NOTCH! Smiles everywhere. That speaks very well for the property management. They know great people when they see them! On this visit, this was the 3rd of 5 Best Westerns we stayed at and by far the absolutely the BEAST!!!

    « Riverside haven... »

Top location, comfortable rooms and welcoming staff - so what's not to like? We chose this spot on the recommendation of friends in Idaho and it lived up to expectations. From check-in to departure we felt at home thanks to the fantastic staff all of whom are top notch. However, special mention must be made of the breakfast, not so much a meal as live theatre thanks to the gal from Texas - I could've eaten breakfast three times a day it was such fun! Great views from the rooms and the Bistro.

    5
    « Wonderful Place »

The Pier Point Inn has a wonderful view and excellent staff. The food was delicious! The wait staff went out of their way to serve us dinner in a timely manner, as they were swamped when we arrived. The room was very comfortable.

    « Oregon Coast Oasis »

Lovely accommodations, however lots of steps. Great staff who are very helpful. Rooms cheerful decor and very clean. Lots of outlets so there are no shortages for necessary plug ins. Breakfast is good with staff preparing fresh order of egg combinations. A good stopping place if you are traveling up the Oregon Coast. Lots of attractions to stop and see.

    « Breakfast and Bistro on-site »

Richelle in the Bay View Bistro restaurant is outstanding - helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, made great suggestions for drinks and meal items. She literally made our dinner there perfect! Josh, the front lobby help, was friendly and fun, offered help with parking and luggage, and was a sweet breath of fresh air.

    « Very nice view »

The hotel is across from Florence on a river. Very nice views on Florence which is actually a charming city with very good restaurants. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is pretty good.

    « Another excellent BW »

In a great location overlooking Florence Old Town & the Suislaw river this BW matches up to what I would expect from the brand. Our 3rd floor room was spacious with an extremely comfy bed & large bathroom. Views across the river magical. It is set far enough back from the highway to be quiet for sleeping. The complementary breakfast had a good selection of both hot & cold food. Be mindful that there is no lift if you are travelling with heavy luggage. Recommended.

    5
    « Great Best Western »

Our first time at this Best Western and a very pleasant surprise. Friendly and caring staff who did not have the word No in their vocabulary. Great clean comfortable room and great breakfast including made to order eggs. Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again when in Florence Oregon.

    3
    « Overnight »

A bit disappointed - no air. So if your hot natured like us bad news. Called front desk and finally got a fan. Not crazy about our room, down under. Can't open sliding door for security reasons. So HOT... Room is clean, beds comfy. Wouldn't stay here again unless we got a top room. Pricey for what we got.

    5
    « Great Stay! »

We stayed at the BW for three nights. Each day was started with a fantastic breakfast with a made to order omelette. Rooms were quiet, clean and well serviced by the competent staff. We had a room with a balcony facing the river, it was great to relax on and catch the sunrise! I would definitely stay here again.

    3
« Not very pet friendly »

A nice hotel but not very pet friendly- no places to walk the dog and the pet 'station' is a very small rectangle of sod off of the parking lot. Very expensive for what it is. The breakfast, however, was excellent.

    4
« great breakfast and great customer service »

The overall property was very good, nice pool area with a view and hot tubs. The breakfast was great and so were the girls taking care of it. We had a good view from our balcony and our room was nice. The only downside was the stairs we had to take down with our luggage and the stairs to go down to the pool. I have bad knees so an elevator would have been great.

    1
    « Journey out West »

This Hotel was such a disappointment. Was way overpriced, old and run down, very worn furniture that you wouldn't have in your house and looked like black mold on back of curtains that led to balcony. The ad made it sound so much better than it was

    4
    « Very nice hotel »

This is an older property that has been maintained very well. Front office staff more than helpful and friendly. We had a great view of the bridge and the town across the river from our balcony. The breakfast was memorable. I have never had a better omelet in my life. Eggs are cooked to order and the cook really was top notch. The property really ;needs an elevator but they have a man in the lobby to assist guests with luggage.

Love the hotel, the location and value but the person that made the trip was the server in the Bistro Andrea. She totally makes this place shine. She went out of her way to help us with the local area, great places to go visit etc. We will definitely be back again soon as it's such a nice place and Fantastic Location and Views

    « Perfect stopover »

On a long drive one needs a clean, uncomplicated, reasonably priced place to stay. This hotel fits the bill perfectly - and is located with views across the Suislaw River to Florence Old Town. Very clean and comfortable.

    « Great View »

Great hotel in a tremendous location overlooking Florence. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms were nice and clean and completely outfitted, the breakfast is excellent with eggs made to order. We had a really pleasant stay, the only regret was that we had to move on next morning.

« Best hotel in Florence »

There is a great view. The staff is super friendly. There is a restaurant and lounge. They have the best free breakfast in town. Eggs, omelettes and scrambles are made to order. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfy.

« Beautiful Views and Friendly Staff »

Stopped here on way up Oregon coast and just loved this hotel. The staff is so friendly and the location is beautiful. Very short drive to historic downtown. Everything about this hotel was easy. Room was clean, bed was comfy, they permitted my 50 pound dog and even greeted her. Breakfast was fresh and there were many options. Staff recommended us to try the Dunes ride down the road and we had a blast! We will come back to this spot.

    5
    « The "Best" Western »

Quiet with very friendly staff and a terrific breakfast with made to order eggs. Great location near downtown. We had an upper floor room with a balcony and view. The bed was comfortable and the room had a coffee maker, fridge and microwave.

    « Great Place! »

Very clean room; great river view; very quiet and comfortable. Attentive & courteous staff--all of them. Young woman at desk recommended superb restaurant in Florence Old Town. Good breakfast and fine restaurant at the Motel, too. (We ate "in town" one night; at motel restaurant one night.)

« Outstanding service and good value for money! »

We have stayed at this hotel more then once and this Best Western stands out with their outstanding customer service. Everyone goes above and beyond with their friendliness, helpful attitude and just all round nice staff. There wasn't a thing to complain about from beginning to end of our 5 night stay. The breakfast is great, with made to order eggs, omelettes or frittatas along with make it yourself waffles or the standard oatmeal, fruit cereal and toast along with sausages, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy. And unlike other included with your stay breakfasts the food is kept full and fresh up to and beyond 10AM when the buffet is set to close. We never felt like you were getting the scraps even if we showed up at 9:55AM. Rooms were clean and comfortable but not overly fancy and the views can't be beat.

« Great view of harbour, great omelettes »

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was close to the sand dune adventures and also very close to bay street where the restaurants are great. The view from our room was also great. The staff were very helpful. This was the only Best Western on our trip that actually made omelettes to order right in front of you. There was also lots of tables despite having a full hotel. Good experience.

« What I expect from a BW Plus, and then some »

We were on a 4 day road trip without any destination or plans. We booked last minute on a Friday late afternoon and felt lucky to have been able to get a room. In fact, we got the last one! No view, but the room was what one would expect from a BW Plus, comfortable bed, large room, strong shower, and quiet. As we are sensitive to noise this was amazing since the hotel was full with families on their last summer weekend fling. Shout out to Laura and Sabrina at the front desk. I asked loads of questions about the area and they both were so cheerful and appeared to like their jobs. Buffet Breakfast was so much better than I expected. 2 chefs cooked our eggs to order, fresh blueberries, strawberries, and they have gluten free breads upon request that were delish! There were plenty of tables with views to the river to accommodate the families as well as couples. I didn't use the pool or gym so can't comment on these. I highly recommend a stay here. I would recommend booking in advance if traveling on a weekend so as to be able to have a room that faces the beautiful river. (most of them do)

« Good Hotel in Florence »

Located just off US 101 to the south of Florence. Great views of the river and harbor at Florence and the iconic bascule bridge on the highway. Room was clean and comfortable, although there was a strong smell of chlorine when we first went into the room. Excellent full breakfast includes omlets made to order.

    4
« Lovely Riverfront HOTEL on Sauslaw River »

From beginning to end the hotel was more like home than just a hotel room. My husband and I came for some 'ocean air' and good seafood. We were not disappointed...especially at the BISTO Dining Room as a part of the hotel. Food delicious and HOT while service from Richelle and Jessica was wonderful. Our 'typical' room did have a cozy couch and linens were thick and nice. Cleaning staff excellant aas was the front desk. Morning breakfast a delight as the omlets were prepared by a young chef who listened to the made to order. Loved our stay! Staff friendly and helpful!

    4
    « Beautiful View »

This hotel had a beautiful bay view from our room. The hotel Lobby and Dining area were very clean and looked updated. Although our room was very clean it was dated and in need of an update. I do think that some of the rooms are updated as my moms room had been updated. I had stayed at another Best Western in Albany the night before and it was very very nice, without the view.

    5
    « Amazing hotel »

This hotel is amazing. The room are great with balconies and great view. Made to order omelets, waffles with fresh blueberries, strawberries and pecans for topping. Breakfast and hotel staff genuinely friendly and helpful. Pool area is great with two hotubs. One of the nicest I've stayed at.

« Not All Was Perfect »

Carpets were filthy, Hopefully this is not something that is normally found at this location. The staff that we came into contact with were excellent and made every attempt to rectify our complaint. The rooms here have the best views in Florence.

« Very Nice Setting, Friendly Staff »

We stopped for 2 nights in Florence, Oregon and we're glad we did. The Pier Point Inn provided a comfortable, very clean room in a wooded setting, overlooking the river and the Old Town harbor. This was a perfect location for us as we explored more of the Oregon coast. The "continental breakfast" far exceeded expectations by including an omelet station staffed by a very friendly cook. The warm cookies at the reception desk were another nice touch.

    4
« Best part of Florence »

Florence may lack charm, apart from the old town, but the Pier Point Inn stands apart and above with a good view over the river. The room we had overlooked some woodland to the river and then down town Florence. The gym was adequate. Breakfast was good with made to order omelettes or eggs available as well as the normal breads and cereals. Room was quiet and well equipped. We were 4 in the room with 2 queen beds and this was fine. Would stay again.

    5
« Shopping, sand duning, and family time! »

I love the Oregon Coast! I have made several areas along the coastline my vacation destination more than a few times and it never disappoints. This hotel is great. The views are spectacular. The service has been wonderful. The included full breakfast is the best and we ate at the restaurant for dinner and would definitely go back!

« Funky smell in "cabin" »

But great breakfast. Not pleasant , comfortable or safe walking to Florence ( or anywhere) so car only option. Drive to ocean maybe 15 minutes. Very friendly staff, they were exceptional. All in all , better VHBO places available.

« Great value, Great breakfast and friendly staff. »

Spent 2 nights at this hotel during a family trip along Oregon Coast. The staff were amazing. Very friendly and very polite. The breakfast was fantastic! We especially enjoyed made to order omlettes with fresh Salmon. Rooms were very clean. Only slight negatives: access in and out of the parking lot requires great care as it is on a curved part of a busy highway; the rooms are accessed from outside, so walking to the pool/hot tub/ restaurant/lobby requires walking outside; no elevators. Overall, a great place, with great value and we will definitely recommend to our friends.

    5
    « Always the best »

The staff is so generous and welcoming. We always feel like family, from the cookies and dog biscuits on arrival to the warm smile from Lauren. The rooms are clean and the view spectacular. You will not be disappointed!

    5
« Great location and service »

We stayed here at the end of August for only a night. The place is great with a good view of the harbor and they have great service. We stayed in 4 cities on our Oregon trip and this place was the best. The service is fantastic. The free breakfast is the best you will get anywhere and the location is close to the dunes for ATV rentals etc which was a blast. I wish we could have stayed longer. It isn't brand new but it is clean and you feel like you are back in time (in a good way) when things were simple and not rushed.

    5
    « Perfect location »

Glad there was a room available for this bike-touring guest. Glad to have the use of the complimentary hot tub during my visit. Since I was on my bike, having the free breakfast in the morning was handy & got me off to a great start.

« Convenient stop on Coast »

This Best Western property offers spacious well appointed rooms, each with a river view looking across to Old Town Florence, especially pretty at night when the town lights come on. It also has a pretty good full service restaurant on site, also featuring the river view. You must drive across the river bridge to see the sights of old town which makes the location less convenient than someplace in town. But if you are road weary and just want to park, eat well, and sleep, the Pier Point works well. My only complaint was that, although bed pillows were plentiful which I love, they were all the same rather thick, hard pillows and I woke up several times with a sore neck. Add a couple of soft bed pillows and my stay would have been 5 stars.

    4
« Great Staff and View »

This hotel has some great views, especially from their restaurant and breakfast rooms. While our room was nice, getting to it was a little difficult. First there are no elevators at this hotel. Getting to our room involved going down a set of stairs from the parking area going along a walkway, then a step up to another walkway and down to a patio area shared by several rooms. These rooms would be difficult for someone either disabled or elderly. The gym was OK but involved going back to the lobby, quite a hike, then down two levels of stairs. The property is situated on a hill which makes for a lot of stairs. The staff at the hotel couldn't have been better or more helpful. The breakfast was very good and came with a beautiful view.

« Worth paying a little more for the experience... »

I wanted my wife to have an extra good time on our anniversary, and our stay at the Pier Point Inn helped to accomplish this purpose. We were cheerfully greeted on our arrival and check in was a breeze. A friendly concierge took us and our bags to our room. From our room we had a wonderful view of the Florence harbor and Suislaw Bridge. There were 2 large, comfortable chairs to lounge in as we viewed the bay. There were lots of extras in the room, including chocolates and high end bar soap. The TV and WIFI worked well. The bed was comfortable. The room was quiet. We slept well. Unexpectedly, they included in our stay a superb breakfast at no extra cost. My wife and I had the salmon omelet, but there were many other great choices on the menu. There was a large variety of items for you to get on the self-serve counters. The cook would call you when your main dish was ready. The breakfast area afforded us a magnificent view of the harbor. High end music was played in the background.

« Wonderful hotel with an AMAZING restaurant ! »

We had reserved two queen room, but the kind lady at the desk noted it was a "pet friendly" room..which we could not use due to,allergies..they offered us a delightful queen bed room, with a nice view of the river and the bridge! We had dinner at the hotel restaurant that night..which was just outstanding..come on, this is a Best Western..are you kidding me! Lamb shank, Osso Bucco, Tenderloin Medallions, wow!! She had the steak and Gorgonzola salad...and loved it! I had the Osso Bucco in a Calvadous Pear reduction...wow wow wow! Jessica waited on us..she was wonderful..table for two with a truly spectacular view of the bridge and the whole bay! Breakfast comes with the room..they make your omelet to order, plus home made rolls, etc..top notch all the way. Highly recommend you stay and eat here..we were delighted we did!

    « Comfortable Best Western »

I have never been overly impressed with Best Western Hotels. I feel like they are Holiday Inn Express Hotels with a Hilton type of price tag. They are very proud of their River View here and you pay for it. The breakfast is ALWAYS crowded and rarely a place to sit.

    « A favorite place to visit »

This is an awesome place to stay while visiting Florence. We had room 566 and right outside our door was a picnic table with awesome view of the water and the bridge. There were also rockers that I wanted to spend the day in and read a good book. The hotel has an awesome indoor pool, hot tub area. My kids love and I love the comfy chairs to sit and watch them swim and enjoy the view. And Bonus is the breakfast that comes with your stay. This is a step above other free breakfasts at other hotels. This one has an awesome omelet chef station. Plus they have juice and toast to add with it. This is our go to place when we visit Florence!

« Reservation Bait and Switch »

My reservations got messed up, so when I arrived late there was no room for my family. The woman at the desk tried to refer me to a hotel down the road that looked like a sketchy 1970's road motel?when I finally found a decent motel in town to stay in, I ran into another family, who had the same experience. They actually went into the motel she recommended and said it smelled nasty. Apparently reservations at this place don't mean jack when they are in cahoots with a shady outfit down the road.

« Awesome Staff, nice rooms »

This is a beautiful location. Worth every penny. The Staff at the front desk were bet kind and willing to help. The room was very clean and odor free (we stayed in a pet friendly room). They have a little area specifically for dogs which was very nice. Nice little restaurant. Rochelle was the one that helped us and she very helpful. Told us where to go for the beach and other recommendations. Josh and John were also very helpful. They helped us with our bags into our room. My son (6yr old) was asking them about the berries that grow around there was wondering which ones would be ok to eat. A little later, they brought a bag of handpicked blackberries to him. That was the nicest thing ever. Thanks guys! Loved here and would return!

« WISH WE COULD HAVE STAYED LONGER »

As a last minute change in our itinerary we decided to check out of BW Agate Beach in Newport a day early and knock off a couple of hours of our long drive back to San Francisco the next day by heading south along the coast. Our desk clerk at the Agate Beach hotel called ahead and reserved a room for us at the Florence Pier Point BW. We could see from photo in AAA Tour book the Pier Point BW appeared to have a lovely location. We arrived to find a lovely hotel perched about the river looking directly at the bridge and the old town of Florence across the river. We were greeted with exceptionally friendly and helpful desk staff who gave us all the information we needed about the hotel and its services as well as guided us to a state park we wanted to explore. The staff offered us hot fresh cookies the aroma of which hit our nostrils the minute we entered the lobby. What a nice gesture. Our room was spacious and pleasing decor with a killer view. We were also delighted to finally find not only HD but free HBO on the nice big flat screen tv. After a full day of exploring the park and walking around the old town of Florence we returned to the hotel and had a drink and subsequently decided why leave the lovely dining room with the killer view and stayed on for dinner. Our food was delicious and our wait person was prompt, courteous and informative. How pleasant it is to open the sliding doors onto the deck and sleep with fresh air. The next morning we partook of the breakfast buffet complete with an egg bar for special orders. The breakfast area was neat and clean and well stocked and again we were greeted by exceptionally nice staff. Highly recommend a day or more at this location.

Great family stop. Very clean. Updated. Comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great and we loved the view of the river/bridge. I would highly recommend this as a stop for familys or just as a pit stop on your coast drive!

This hotel had good sized rooms which were very nice. Some rooms were slightly awkward to get to. The pool and spa facilities were good and very relaxing. Breakfast was free and OK. Hotel is good value for money

    « Very nice staff »

We stayed here last minute, for 3 nights. We had 3 grandchildren with us. We got a suite facing the front, right next to the entrance. Not having river view was ok for us since we were going to be seeing the river all day anyway. The suite was very large and plenty of room to accommodate all 5 of us. The only downside to being in front was that your heard the loud vehicles and loud people exiting and entering the hotel. One of the nicer features of this place is the breakfast in the morning. Made to order omelets and eggs with plenty of other items to choose in the serve your self area. The kids enjoyed it. The best part of this hotel is the friendliness of the staff. Everyone we had contact with or talked to was very friendly. We even got a handwritten thank you note from the housekeeper for our daily tip. Definitely on the list of places to stay again.

    « Amazing Service »

We arrived on a Friday and they were totally booked. The receptionist took the time to find us a room at the Driftwood Inn Resort. The next day we returned and the staff again was super welcoming. We were able to get a nice large room with a king bed, pullout couch and a rollaway for a great price and an amazing view. The breakfast was out of this world...best...fresh...hot biscuits and homemade gravy with eggs made to your liking with an amazing view. Pool and Hot tubs are nice with a great view. But I want to again just say how wonderful every staff member was! The gals at the front desk know how to make you smile and give you the best customer service. Thanks for helping our family vacation be great.

« Amazing place to stay! »

We pulled in and noticed how clean the front of the Inn was. While I waited in the car with our dog, my husband checked us into the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful! I want to thank Josh, Sabrina, Laura and Andrea for making us feel so welcome. The room, view and all the amenities made this stay so nice we are going to come again just to stay here! AND they are very pet friendly! Oh and I almost forgot the breakfast they serve was above and beyond what is usually offered in other motels. They even have breakfast attendants that help with anything you need. Yum! Thanks everyone at the Best Western Pier Point Inn.

    « Good Stay! »

We stayed only one night as a family of four. Restaurant food was good, rooms nice and clean with a beautiful river view, and great breakfast. Only complaint was that it did not have air conditioning. We were a little hot throughout the night. Overall wonderful stay and would recommend it!

« Very nice room and pretty view of the bridge and Florence »

The room was very nice, it was clean and spacious. They served a very good breakfast. There was one problem - there are no elevators, making it difficult to bring luggage into the room. Otherwise, comfortable and clean.

    5
    « Great Experience »

The view, security, food and room were one of my best Best Western Hotel experience ever. Some places I stayed on the Oregon Coast for a similar price were sorry in comparison. The night view looking over the river at the city lights was special.

« Great place, fantastic staff. »

Beautiful location, great restaurant. Joshua and April went over and above to help us out. The cookies were amazing, would return in a minute. I highly recommend it the location is absolutely gorgeous. One of the nicest Best Westerns I have ever stayed in.

« Lovely view and comfortable room. »

We stayed here for two nights as a family. Comfortable room on top floor with a gorgeous view of the bridge. Yes, the hotel and room are a bit dated but it's in good condition and very clean, so it didn't bother us. Breakfast was brilliant, as is usual in most BWs we have stayed in. No need for lunch ??. You must try the dune buggy rides - unforgettable and one of the highlights of our trip so far. We did our laundry at the launderette on 37th street (we ate at the Chinese restaurant a few metres away whilst we were waiting for our laundry to be done - delicious food and friendly staff and owner). Best Western Pier Point is a great place to stay in Florence.

« Excellent stay in Florence, OR »

This was a very clean, beautiful hotel. The staff was willing to help in anyway they could with a great attitude. The breakfast included more than most other hotels as it had an omelette station. The view was great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

    « Quick Anniversary getaway »

View was beautiful. For the hotel almost full it was extremely quiet. Front desk was very welcoming and informative. BreakfaSt was nice but needed fresh cut fruit not canned fruit. Bed was the best i have ever slept in. Did not use pool area. Would have given a 5 but room was a little small and smelled a little damp but it's the oregon coast.

    4
« Nice place to stay »

Really liked it, the breakfast in the morning was way above other restaurants I stayed at on this trip. The view is outstanding, although they need to clean the window and fix the seal in it as the moisture in it blocks the view. i would give it a 5 but the parking lot is crowded and kind of small and the window issue. Staff are very friendly and helpful...I would definitely stay here again.

« Best Western Florence OR »

The breakfast was outstanding. Order your choice of omelet, or eggs cooked the way you like. The normal cereals, pastry, waffles, etc. are available also. Ample space for diners. Parking seemed a little tight but not a problem.

« Best service in Florence »

We took an overnight trip to Florence to honor our friend who passed away for his birthday. We came in late and The staff treated us like V.I.P. guests without even knowing why we were there. The room was clean and comfortable and the view of the Old Town waterfront was beautiful. Special thanks to Josh and April for making us feel right at home.

    « Great place »

Our stay was fantastic! The room was clean, well decorated, comfortable, very large and had a great view. We were served made to order omelets for breakfast which were delicious. My husband loved the miniature banana nut muffins also. The staff we met were extremely courteous and friendly.

    « Good Hotel »

I had a room which appeared a little outdated but clean. The room had a nice view. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was limited at times. The Pool was too cold and needed some updates. However, I enjoyed my staying and would definitely come back.

    « Wonderful »

Should have stayed longer it was wonderful! Enjoy the pool, the service and the hospitality. Some others would learn from your quality! Love it, love the view, food was great, wine was good, spa and sauna, and everybody was happy!

    « Ray »

Ray was INCREDIBLE! He helped us find a very safe spot for a high end sports car! He then took our bags to our room and gave us a room tour. After that, he ran down to the ice machine and filled our ice bucket. He then asked if we were going to be having some wine and said the deck was a beautiful place to have a BOTTLE of wine! He asked if we had wine glasses. We only had plastic wine glasses. When he heard that he ran to the restaurant and retrieved two wine glasses! He also offered to protect our parking space if we left the facility for dinner. We did not leave...the accommodations at the restaurant and hotel were impeccable!

    « Great setting »

We were traveling over Father's Day weekend, so the Inn was full to capacity. Staff very friendly, and we had a great view from our room. However, the room was very stuffy with an odd smell of mold and cleaner, so we had to keep doors open and fans on a lot to air it out. Very comfy beds. Very quiet environment, considering all the rooms were booked. The free breakfast was quite elaborate, however my omelette was half cooked, probably due the the crowd waiting for the hot food. The rest of the food was varied and good. We will probably try this one again.

    « Great river views »

This is a 3 star hotel, and for a three star, it's pretty good. They have kept it up, serve a great free breakfast, and have friendly staff. We stayed in a pet friendly room, and BOY could you tell. It smelled exactly like you walked in to a pet grooming place. Like clean, wet , dog. I dont usually stay with my pet, so don't know if this is normal, but I have been told there are pet rooms where you can't tell its a pet room. Room was clean and comfortable, nice little balcony and great view. We paid well over $200 for our room (single King), seemed high, but it was high season.

« Best Free Hotel Breakfast Ever »

This was a last minute booking as we were visiting colleges in Oregon with our son. What a great choice! The suite was downstairs with a separate bedroom from the sitting area with a sofa bed and kitchenette. The suite was spacious, clean, and comfortable with a beautiful view. The staff was very friendly and gracious upon our arrival. The breakfast was included and it was fabulous! By far, it was the best free hotel breakfast that we have experienced in our travels. The made-to-order omelet bar was superb along with a variety of breakfast items. The oatmeal was even delicious! Travelers will not leave this hotel hungry.

« Best hotel experience ever!! »

We went to this best western with some friends and it was amazing! Josh, John, arric, and Sabrina went above and beyond at 10:30 at night to make us breakfast because we were hungry. This hotel has the best breakfast. Super clean! Lovely staff. Will definitely return.

« Best Western Florence Oregon »

This is an absolutely fabulous hotel. It couldn't have been more comfortable, easy parking, great beds, large room, and incredible view. Breakfast was great as was the staff. If you are going to Florence, Oregon, a wonderful town with lots of shops and restaurants, don't stay anywhere else. Great value for the money.

    « Very nice! »

We arrived at the hotel earlier than expected but the staff was happy to move us into a room that had already been cleaned. Our room was on the second floor (thankfully they had ramps and not steps) and our window offered a lovely view of the river. The pool / spa area were extremely clean & also overlooked the river. Breakfast was superb!

    « An average stay »

Clean and organised hotel. The staff are very polite and professional. The breakfast is excellent. However I book rooms with a view to enjoy the view. There are outside lights that stay on all night which interrupted the view and my sleep. There was also a booking error which we found annoying, however it was resolved.

    « Very comfortable »

My stay was a short one of just two days but the staff was very responsive and happy to help, and the breakfasts were great as well with a very energetic team for how early in the morning it was. great experience and i would definitely stay there again.

« If you have money to burn this is the place for you! »

I have stayed downtown Seattle for cheaper. They think cooking you eggs for breakfast justifies charging an additional $50+ a night. Sure its a nice view but there is another place right on the beach for less!

« Best Service and Absolute Best Breakfast of our Entire Trip »

We stayed at the BW Pier Point in Florence for one night as a stop on our 3-week trip from Seattle to San Diego. Out of the 7 Best Western hotels we visited during this trip, none came close to matching the hospitality and service we experienced at the Best Western Pier Point Inn. From check in, where Chayanne and April were more than accommodating in advising on local attractions and points of interest for our drive the next day, to the clean and well-maintained room we arrived in complete with a personal welcome note from our attendant Terri, all aspects of the hotel exceeded our expectations. By far the most impressive quality was the breakfast. We would like to sincerely thank Lisa, the Breakfast Manager, for providing options that went far above and beyond a typical breakfast. There was a full offering of cereal, fruit, pastries, and other cold options, but the highlights were Lisa's own homemade steel-cut oatmeal and assorted toppings, the belgian waffle station (not provided at many of the other BWs we stayed at) and a cook-to-order egg and omelet station managed with skill by Tabatha. Tabatha cooked for us perhaps the best smoked salmon and caper omelet I have ever tasted. Throughout breakfast Lisa could be seen mingling with guests, offering to bring refills or extra servings to the table, and really doing everything possible to make the experience exceptional for every guest. We cannot thank them enough for far exceeding our expectations and proving an exceptional accommodation and wonderful breakfast.

    « Family Vacation »

Josh, John, and April helped provide such an enjoyable experience. They got us everything we needed to be comfortable! This hotel has the most beautiful interior and exterior. It's also the only hotel I have ever been in that makes inlets for breakfast free. The view from this hotel is breathtaking. We had an excellent experience.

    « A $230-a-night big "nope" »

Service was average except for experience with a particularly rude and coarse waitress. I walked out in disgust. The room was large and kept clean. The location was far from town and not amenable to walking anywhere. It had an indoor pool and 2 jacuzzis. The pool was dominated by kids thrashing about. Pros: Magnificent view of bay.. Cons: -$230 a night for a little better than average motel experience. -Free breakfast was bland and seating was uncomfortably cramped. It was mostly like any other continental breakfast with fresh egg option. -It seemed like any additional or customary option had an extra charge--as if motel was trying to milk every dollar they could from you. -Entrance and exit from motel was precarious.

    « Fantastic stay! »

First of all, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We arrived a little early and the rooms were not ready....that was understandable. After a little sightseeing, the rooms were ready. They were worth the wait! Very clean and spacious with a nice view of the Siuslaw River and bridge. Appreciated the pieces of chocolate on the nightstand. ??One of our rooms did not have air condition and they were able to find us another room with air without any problem. The breakfast was delicious. We loved how you could have the staff prepare eggs. Again, the staff was super helpful explaining breakfast process. Terrific place...would love to visit again in the future.

« Amazing View, Amazing Customer Service »

This experience was by far one of the best I have have had in a long while. We wanted to go somewhere special to celebrate the night & enjoy ourselves. Our room was on the third floor with a balcony over looking the river which made for an enjoyable sunset... this however also made the room very warm which would have been more bearable if there was an Air Conditioner! We were unaware of the circumstances of no A/C but quickly learned the majority of the hotels along the coast do not have A/C. Be aware of this if you book a room anywhere on the coast! We were told the second floor at this Best Western does contain a "P-Tac" which is essentially just a fan, not a true A/C unit. Being from California, I expect all hotels to have A/C's so We were highly disappointed but that's where the front desk person, Laura, TOTALLY saved the day!!!! She brought us an industrial fan all the way up to our room on the third floor with a smile on her face! She was so accommodating & understanding. It blew me away how quickly she brought the fan & was apologetic which I appreciated because I was upset about the heat in the room & she did all she could to fix it & it made all the difference! She also had fresh complimentary cookies at the front desk for our enjoyment! On another note: I did notice there were a few more cob webs outside the door than i would have expected to see at such a nice hotel but upon entering the room, the bed was made nicely, the room was well kept, spacious & inviting. The bathroom was updated with a removable shower head, a handy shower caddy containing shampoo, conditioner & a nice smelling body wash which were products from bath & body works. I would highly recommend this place for their amazing staff which are all friendly from the general manager to the front desk to the bell boy to the amazing kitchen. Hands down best breakfast from any hotel! Shout out again to Laura, you saved the day! Thank you again!

I'm very sad to leave. I'm writing this to let every fellow co-worker at the Pier point inn know that I am going to miss them all. Never have I worked anywhere that every person takes customer satisfaction seriously as they all do here at the Pier point Inn. It was a great honor for me to have been employed there, but due to family issues I must go back home. But once again, I am very honored to have been a part of the team, and I pray that this BEST WESTERN PIER POINT INN becomes the leader in CUSTOMER SATISFACTION that all other Best Western looks to be that SHINNIG EXAMPLE.... And again, I'll miss you all....

    « Friendliest staff »

We arrived kind of late at night and were greeted with such kindness it was almost shocking. Sabrina was so friendly when she greeted us. One of the employees (Josh) even moved his personal vehicle so we could have a closer parking spot. Then he helped us with our luggage, which required multiple trips. Then made sure we had extra towels and blankets so we were comfortable. Some might say he was just doing his job, but he was so friendly and enthusiastic, it was a breath of fresh air after a long days journey. The next day at breakfast we experienced similar kindness and enthusiasm from the staff. I don't believe the star rating if this is only 2.5. For service they were definitely a 5 in my opinion.

    3
    « Okay, but overpriced »

This is basically a $100/night hotel but because of location they can charge more. The breakfast is mediocre but it's better than a "continental" breakfast because they serve eggs. No fruit or anything else healthy, but eggs. You'll get plastic cups in your room, breakfast on paper plates, all the hallmarks of a cheap hotel. But the view is nice if you get a room along the river. And the bed was good. I probably wouldn't go back.

    5
    « Great Hotel!! »

Check in was very professional, even had people in the parking lot to give directions and assist with luggage. Filling breakfast included, warm cookies and bottomless coffee and tea in the lobby. Pool, hot tubs, and sauna were very clean. View and location can't be beat!! Staff was wonderful - thank you!! :-)

    « Bring into 21st century »

Room had a great view of the bay, but that is all it had, Bed was uncomfortable, and the pillows were way to soft. The arms of the sleeper sofa were black and for a light colored material, that is bad. Had issue with the toliet and called the desk for someone to come fix it, some kid came to the door and handed me a plunger

    « Lucked out! »

We took a 7 day, 1500 mile family road trip this June including a drive down the beautiful Oregon coast. We stayed in many hotels along the way, but our favorite, by far, was the Best Western Pier Point Inn in Florence. Our room was such a great value! The hotel is located right along side the Siuslaw River. We had a straight on view from our room! The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our room was a good size for our family of 3 and it was nicely decorated. It included everything we needed...a mini fridge, wifi, a good sized TV and most importantly, very comfortable beds! The amenities were also fabulous. We especially loved the complimentary cook to order breakfast at the Bay View Bistro. The selection of food was extensive, the service was great and we, once again, enjoyed a perfect view of the river as we dined. My daughter and I took advantage of the beautiful pool and spa, which also overlooked the river, while my husband enjoyed working out in the fitness center. We truly lucked out with our hotel choice and we will recommend it to all our friends!

    5
« Great Spot to Spend a Night or Two (Or More) »

After a very long day on the road this place was a welcome sight. We were quite pleased with the property overall, lovely views from our room, and terrific service upon check in. Parking can be a bit tight here, and this hotel will be pretty much booked throughout the summer. There's a good reason for that as it's a nice place to unwind.

    4
    « Room with a view! »

Very nice hotel. Service was great, staff was friendly. Breakfast was good, they have a omelet station. Located right by the river and next to the siuslaw bridge. Nice indoor heated pool with 2 hot tubs. However, room was a tad on the small side with no elevators. Will stay definitely stay here again

    3
    « Great Breakfast! »

The hotel is old and in need of new carpet, paint etc. The view of the river is beautiful if you insist on a room with a view. Our first room had a view of the garbage cans but they did find us another and were very nice about it. What sets this Best Western apart is the fabulous breakfast, cooked to order omelets. I had the smoked salmon, capers, and spinach. The best I've ever had, i would come here just for the breakfast but I think you have to stay in the hotel. FYI there is no elevator and many stairs.

    4
« Beautiful hotel and Ray is amazing! »

Stayed here while riding my bike down the Oregon coast. Pulled in after a hard day's riding, exhausted. Ray was right there at the front steps and made us feel like we were home! While we were checking in I watched him greet everyone with that same huge smile and truly genuine, welcoming attitude. The food in the restaurant is absolutely incredible, and it has the best view around of the river and bridge. Andrea was the bartender, server, and, bus service! She never stopped moving. I sat watching the river for a long long time and had a wonderful meal while the sun slowly set. Every staff member we met was always super friendly and helpful. The hotel is immaculate. Make sure you get a room with a balcony, though. That is my only complaint. We ended up in a lower room. It was very private with patio shared with a couple other rooms, but we couldn't really see the river at all. Other than that, spectacular!

    5
« The Best Breakfast Experience Ever!! »

This hotel has a beautiful location, first of all - great place to be at about the halfway point to enjoy the southern coast of Oregon or go up to the Columbia River Gorge which is full of beautiful waterfalls and trails to hike. Lisa, the manger for the food service here gave us all a "Disney" experience with breakfast. First of all, I would describe the food as almost gourmet - the special for the included breakfast, which I thought was "continental" wasn't at all - it was a scramble of eggs, spinach, mushrooms and cheese - absolutely delicious. you can also have your eggs cooked anyway. She starts out with her native Ft. Worth Texas drawl, welcoming everyone to breakfast , explaining the service, the specials, a quick "how to" in an informative, amusing style that is even entertaining. It amazes me time and again how one person can make such a big difference - Lisa and her team get this award for breakfast at the BW Pier Point Inn! The other staff was great as well - make reservations - this place fills up!

    « Beautiful view »

We got one of the Exter large rooms with two queen beds were comfortable pillows were nice view was awesome breakfast was good stop was helpful though they seemed grumpy at first breakfast omelette lady definitely does not enjoy her job burned eggs and omelettes stay away from the sausage but overall good breakfast would stay here again

« This is the Best Western I've ever stayed at! »

Coming in late from a long trip up the 101 I was looking for a place to rest that was reasonably priced and easy to get into. Sabrina was very helpful in securing a room when only a few were available and us needing a disabled suite. She was patient and helpful in directing me to the suite, the pool and the very nice resturant that has a magnificent view of the river and harbor. Breakfast was also the best at any BW and I've stayed at about ten different ones in the past 3-4 years.

« best hotel ever for positive experience and traveling with a pet »

Staff was wonderful! happy, friendly and helpful. We travel with our dog and finding a place to stay is a challenge. I always carry fabreeze and other products to reduce the smell, even in the more expensive hotels. The room was immaculate and very nicely decorated. The view was beautiful. We loved the breakfast and the staff was very engaging and a lot of fun.. The only problem we had is getting our long bed truck and boat parked. The parking space is limited but again the staff was very helpful and we got the job don. getting out in the morning was pretty easy. Wish we could have stayed another night. kudos to Annarie, Jan, Sara,Tabitha, Liisa and Deb Bray! .

This hotel is located near the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park, and across the Siuslaw River from Old Town Florence. « Really good. Over-the-top-good. »

Been here several times, consistently great. Pristine rooms (no AC, but you're on the Oregon Coast), jaw-dropping view of the harbor lights and historic bridge. Bistro restaurant offers a dinner as great as the view. Free breakfast is a full-blown custom omelette station, with biscuits, gravy, sausage, waffles, milk, juice, fruit. Tip that omelette artist. Desk staff is top drawer.

« Beach and River fun »

Nice place to stay, staff great, food OK, older hotel so a little high in price, but overall a good stay. One of the hot tubs still out of service, not enough towels for swimmers. Great view of river.

« Great place to stay and eat »

We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. Check in was made easy by great front desk staff, even had a bell boy to carry our bags to our room. Rooms were beautiful and the best thing is the view of Florence. Wow, a hidden gem this place is. We had drinks and ate dinner there too, everything was so good, and prices really reasonable. Staff in cafe are so friendly and made us feel at home. Breakfast the next morning was fun, lots of selections, even made to order omlette and the works and free!! Yeah, we finally found a place on the Oregon coast we love and we will be going back here many times!!!!

    5
    « Great view »

The staff were really nice especially the concierge who carried all 3 of our suitcases up to our rooms in 1 go (we could barely carry 1 between 2 of us!) the rooms were neat and clean and a decent size with microwave and fridge. We used the hotels restaurant where I had a decent piece of salmon. The waitress was very friendly and the service excellent

« Great room, great people »

Dramatic view of river and downtown from every room. Bistro is the best restaurant we found in Florence. Staff is very good. The breakfast with made-to-order omlettes was excellent. Indoor pool, spas and sauna were the perfect end to a day of travel. Helpful and friendly staff. A must stay.

« Upscale Best Western with peaceful view »

This Best Western originally surprised me with its view and rooms that sprawl across the hill -- not your normal roadside hotel arrangement. We walked through a labyrinth to get to our rom which spilled out onto a beautiful terrace. The rooms are high quality, and our team was happy to watch the NBA finals on a big screen. Breakfast was great with an egg/omelette station and waffle maker. I have been here before, and I would definitely come back. (BTW, on the other side of the bridge is a great breakfast place and deli next door called Homegrown Public House on Laurel and Maple Streets).

    « Nice place »

Stayed one night and were very happy! The location is perfect! Our room had a lovely view and was clean and comfortable. My 12 year old loved the pool! It is an indoor pool but with a gorgeous view! The breakfast in the morning was plentiful. Had eggs to order plus make your own waffles, yogurt, cereal and other items! We would stay here again!

« BEWARE of the lack of common courtesy »

I made a terrible error in my reservation. I reserved for Friday instead of Saturday. When I arrived on Saturday, the front desk said my reservation was for Friday. They charged me full price for Friday even though they admitted there were 6 rooms open on Friday night, so the hotel didn't lose any money. I have AAA, and indicated that on my reservation, yet the Best Western said I couldn't use the discount because they had already charged my card. The "best they could do" was to apply my AAA discount to the night I actually stayed, Saturday night. I had traveled far to attend the wedding, spent a lot of money on gas and food and spent a lot of time getting there. The last thing I expected was the lack of common courtesy from Best Western! The huge hotel chain could have applied the payment from Friday to Saturday, or given me a deeper discount because they didn't have to clean the room I never stayed in, or something. One night in the Best Western cost me almost $400. BEWARE of Best Western's lack of common courtesy.

    « Great Hotel »

Wonderful experience. The Bistro is great for dinner and the breakfast in the am was fresh and delicious. Well maintained rooms and comfortable bed. Security is great. There is a large homeless population in Florence, good to know they have someone watching the grounds at night. Quiet and peaceful evenings, slept with the window open enjoying the sea breeze. View of the river is beautiful.

Room and breakfast were excellent. Getting a handicap accessible room can be very difficult, but Best Western both in Florence and other locations were very helpful in providing a handicapped accessible room.

« Best overall experience we've ever had »

From the moment we arrived I knew this place was special. The bellhop, Ray, greeted us like we were long lost family. The front desk ladies were friendly and kind. When asked about the tide, they offered to look it up and print it out for us. After we did our daily trekking we came back and went to the Bay View Bistro, which is located inside the motel, and the manager, Richelle, also treated us like family. In fact the kitchen had closed but the chef, RJ, still made us some crab cakes and Richelle whipped up a perfect sangria for my wife. Breakfast was great also. Overall experience was so good it was one of the highlights of our trip! Thanks!

    « Older Luxury »

We stayed at the Pier Point by default ... We got a call from the Three Rivers Casino hotel en-route that they did not accept pets after making my reservation on-line. So the Three Rivers' desk supervisor kindly made reservations for us at an alternative hotel, the Best Western Pier Point Inn. I'm no stranger to the Oregon Coast, and had been past this older establishment many times. I knew it as a well established, and rather expensive luxury hotel that had gracefully aged with the years. Upon our arrival I was not disappointed with the exterior ... a well managed, freshly painted and appointed property built onto a cliff at the southern end of the Siuslaw River bridge, overlooking the river and the city of Florence on the opposite shore. Ray, the energetic and very personable bell captain greeted us and took our bags to our room, filling us with little tips on things to do and see. A terrific fellow! The rest of the staff were friendly, helpful, pleasant and perfectly willing to engage and make our stay as enjoyable as they could. The breakfast that was included in our stay was a feast with sausage and biscuits, gravy, hot and cold cereal, breads, muffins, fruit etc. and best of all ... eggs cooked to order with nearly anything you can put in eggs added. All deliciously prepared and kept fresh. The view is magnificent, the best in Florence, but there are a couple of drawbacks. First; it isn't situated on the beach, nor is it even close to the ocean. Any of the sights and tastes of Florence, and there are many, must be driven to. Second; the old girl is starting to show her age. Our room, while nicely appointed and recently remodeled had a sloping floor that became rather tedious after a two day stay. But again, the view more than made up for the drawbacks that this old girl presented.

« Expensive stay but nice hotel »

Overall I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was a bit pricey but that is kind of what I get for waiting till the last minute to book a room. The restaurant staff went above and beyond when we showed up late to get dessert and they were already closed but they still helped us and made an amazing dessert for us. We didn't really get to use any of the other facilities since everything closed so early.

« River views from every room, good food and a pool and hot tub with a view! »

I have stayed here a few times while visiting my family in Eugene. Its a great escape to Florence when the weather is hot in eugene. This is like a mini vacation. the hotel has all the creature comforts and they have an amazing indoor pool with 2 hot tubs that look out over the River! Another bonus, if your entertaining kids or just want to have fun experience at the coast is Honeyman state park is within a mile of the hotel and has a wonderful day use area where you can rent kayaks , paddle boats, jump off a floating docks, and play in the dunes. Wonderful fun for All!!!!!

« Seasoned Travelers surprised by amazing service! »

I have never written a review, but this hotel deserves it. We toured Oregon and this was Day 4. We LOVED it. The room was clean and nice, the restaurant on-site was welcomed especially by my hubby cuz we walked to dinner -- and it was as quaint and lovely as everyone comments. But the best, the very best was the morning breakfast. No stale fruit loops and hard bagels here; instead you are greeted by Tabitha, Lisa, Jane, or Debbie to ask you what you want in your made to order omelet. I had the scrambled and just checked everything! Tabitha told us not to miss the home-made biscuits and gravy ---- my husband was in heaven. My husband tipped . . . and I told him to march right back and tip again. We stayed at 15 places this trip, other Best Western's and they don't stand a candle to our experience. Thank you

« Okay property, great staff. »

The hotel is located across the bridge from downtown Florence overlooking the Siuslaw River right on highway 101. The rooms face the river, but you can still hear the trucks going by occasionally. The building is older, with 2nd floor rooms connected by catwalks that are open to the elements. We immediately noticed a strong fragrance in the room. We thought it was a deodorizer. The next morning we mentioned it and they told us it was a moisture collector that was hanging in the closet that we could have removed. The room was very dark partially because of the dark carpeting. There was one switch in the bathroom that controlled the light and the fan. The fan was extremely noisy, so if you got up in the night and turned on the bathroom light you would wake up anyone else in the room. The warm cookies at the front desk were a nice touch. The staff was very friendly and provided good service. It was a long walk to the breakfast area and lobby in the rain (no cover). Breakfast was good, with made to order omelets. I thought it a little odd that although the on-property restaurant was owned by the same people who owned the hotel you could not charge meals to your room. Dogs allowed, but the dog-walk area was a small rectangle of Astroturf, little grass near the hotel to walk your dog. Thought the price of the room was high.

« Scary night in Florence »

We were on a 3 day road trip and stayed in Best Western Hotels both nights. I have felt in the past that I can count on Best Western to provide a nice clean room and comfortable bed at a good price. I used what points I had on my credit card and paid a little extra for a nice room with a balcony and view for the last night of our road trip. We stayed in room 354, there is a definite downward slope to the floor and an enormous crack in the ceiling signifying the foundation is sinking. The hotel is built on a cliff side and honestly I was worried that our lives might be in danger. The power also went out which only added to my apprehension. The decor in the room was nice, the bathroom was nice and big, and the bed was comfortable. The view was great as long as we weren't looking down into someones back yard . I am really concerned that the foundation will give way and the hotel will fall, therefore I would not recommend anyone stay in this hotel. I did mention this to the front desk clerk and they are well aware of the condition of the room and gave us 3000 points. While I appreciate the jesture, I don't think the hotel is safe and would not stay here again. I will say the staff was very nice and the Biscuits and Gravy are the best I have ever had at hotel breakfast.

    « Lovely Surprise »

We were ready to call it a day & drove past this BW then made a U-turn. I had noticed it was on the water so we decided to give it a try & I'm so glad we did. The front desk was friendly & efficient with the check in. There are no elevators so the staff took our bags in & out for us which is wonderful. We got a king room with a view of the water & it was a large room with a couch & coffee table. It was tastefully decorated & clean, the bed & linens were very comfortable & we had a great nights sleep. Included with the room is a breakfast buffet & they have special omelets they will cook for you also if you like which was an extra special touch as you dine looking at the water. I would highly recommend this motel for it's beautiful, peaceful setting.

« A good hotel but love the restaurant nearby! »

Clean, very nice rooms, comfy beds, good breakfast. The Location is almost the middle of nowhere. But the desk clerk recommended a restaurant on exit up the road, "Jeremy's Farm to Table", which was our vote for best restaurant of the year. Nothing special to look at but absolutely top-notch fresh and well-cooked food at a reasonable price. We will stay here again just to go to Jeremy's.

    « Stay here! »

This is what all coastal hotel should be like. It had a wonderful views. Friendly staff. Hot cookies and coffee at check-in and when we departed. The room we stayed in was spacious, well-appointed and the bed was great. The floors were laminate and clean with a couple of throw rugs. There was space for luggage, a couch, a large screen TV and a coffee table. I was put off by the price at first but I believe we got our monies worth, I can't recommend the dinning room but the breakfast, which comes with the room is second to none - PERIOD! I have stayed in hundreds of hotels from cheap to expensive this rates up there with the expensive ones and it cost much less. As for comparisons to other BW this one is in the top tier and I have stayed in over 100 BW's. If I am ever in this postal code again I will stay here!

This is a nice hotel -- a little overpriced for the room and amenities. I went during the Rhododendron Festival and prices are increased that weekend. I was disappointed with the lack of closet space in my room.

Best Western at its finest! What a treat to stay at this outstanding inn after a day on the road, enjoying the Oregon Coast. We found the room to be clean, nicely appointed and the beds comfortable. Service was top notch. An especially nice touch for the breakfast buffet was the opportunity to order omelets made from "real eggs" instead of the premade ones often found on morning buffets. Thank you for an excellent night, beautiful views, and wonderful service.

From check in, this place was all abut service. A great bellman helped us to the second floor with ur luggage....something doesn't happen often when you are on the road. Room was nice and clean. Great bed. Cute pet relief area. Cookies and coffee in the lobby. Restaurant and bar were great too. I had the razor clams which were totally delicious. Nice and clean and the broth was fantastic. Chowder was great and my husband enjoyed his salad too. Kelly at the bar was fun and attentive. Very good place to stay!

« Florence Best Western, Top Notch »

Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted at the door by a fantastic smile and helpfulness that is hard to find today. The gentleman was quick to open the door, assist with bags and show you to your room, even in the rain. The rooms were great, lovely view across the bay towards downtown and the bridge. The morning breakfast was so much more than just coffee and a donut.

I came to Florence for the Dunes City Triathlon. I was able to get a good nights sleep prior to the event. The hotel was very clean, the free wifi and free breakfast were great. Good view of the river. The staff were all very friendly and they let me have a later check out than usual. I would stay here again.

« Great location! Great service! »

Perhaps the best Best Western my fiancé and I ever stayed at! Hospitality was excellent. We were not satisfied with our original room when checking in as it had no view of the river and the front desk immediately upgraded us to a better room at no extra cost. The room was very comfortable and the food was far superior to any other Best Westerns we've ever stayed at in the west coast. Great location over looking the old town of Florence. The dining room had a excellent view of the river as well. Everyone working at the hotel was friendly and helpful, especially Annarie, Saige, Todd and Sabrina. I will definitely return to this hotel when ever back in the area. Highly recommended.

    « Comfortable »

Beds were comfortable, 13 steps down from parking lot and up to room was tough. Rooms were clean, older, bathrooms need updating. Staff was helpful. Breakfasts were fun with made to order omelets and Great River views. People did smoke close to rooms at doggie area, sometime walking past them to rooms was choking. Its located across bridge from Florence, close but not downtown or close to Old Town. Green practices were labeled everywhere, nice! Tight parking lot!

« Beautlful view and good location »

This is one of our favorite BW properties. From our balcony we could see the river, the bridge, and the wildlife in the water. The omelette station at breakfast is a plus. Other amenities at breakfast are typical BW (mediocre coffee). Very friendly and professional staff. Wish there were covered walkways to get to the main lobby.

« Had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Pier Point Inn in Florence, OR. »

I had a great stay at the Best Western Pier Point Inn in Florence, OR. I am a 66 year old senior cyclist traveling the perimeter of the United States by bicycle as a fundraiser for Habitat For Humanity and Save The Children. I am unsupported and unsponsored on this journey and am peddling 250 pounds of myself, bicycle, trailer, and gear. I have been bicycling up the Oregon coast which has been a real challenge because of the cold spring time coastal temperatures and the winds out of the north. The Best Western was my safe haven after some tough cycling. Leisa, the manager, was very interested in my journey and made every effort to make sure I was comfortable for the night. Thank you to Leisa and the Best Western Pier Point Inn for their consideration!

    « BW in Florence »

Old town Florence is a sleepy treasure. Often overshadowed by ritzier locales such as Newport/Lincoln City and Yachats to the north and Bandon or Brookings to the south, Florence more than holds its own. The Pier Point Inn is a great, affordable treat for the traveler looking for something fun on an overnight trip from the Willamette Valley or when traveling up 101. I definitely recommend this lodging-- plus, Old Town Florence is a treat!

« Great stop, wonderful breakfast »

We had a wonderful view of the river from our room. Those who worked behind the front desk were very friendly. Breakfast was wonderful. Lisa one of the cooks takes extreme pride in her work and wants you to enjoy your meal. She will fix you an omelet, or frittata, or eggs any other way you want. She will even make a one egg omelet of frittata so that you can have a smaller portion if you wish. She makes the sausage gravy from scratch and it was the best we ever had. Would definitely stay here again if ever in the area.

    « Great stop »

We stopped here on our way down the Oregon coast. It was clean and had great views. The best part of the visit was dinner at the restaurant off the lobby, the Bay View Bistro-do NOT miss this place for dinner! The breakfast was also good- made to order omelettes and great coffee.

The Girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights during our Oregon coast road trip. the service was amazing from Check in through our whole stay, we had a top floor room with a great view of the bridge and River which provided some nice views during sunrise and sunset. We ate breakfast here both mornings and the food was really good from the fresh made scrambles to the home made biscuits and gravy to waffles and yogurt they had it all. Oh did I mention they had fresh cookies throughout the day as well as on onsite restaurant, we didn't try the restaurant out but im sure it would have been good based on the rest of the service we received. Great place to stay and 2 min drive to downtown Florence

    « Disappointed »

We thought this looked like a great place, good ratings on Tripadvisor and all. Well don't stay in the middle floor, rooms #200+, the rooms are not insulated well and we have children above us and can hear everything they do! Running, crying, etc. The rooms are not carpeted, laminate flooring only. Bummer, would not stay here again. The room is nice, clean, roomy but the noise really takes away from it all. Not worth the money we spent to stay here.

« Our second visit, and we look forward to our third! »

It had been two or three years since our last stay here, and they made several improvements. The staff we encountered...J.D., Sage, and Laura...were all extremely helpful and friendly. The thing that impressed us was how much a family they seemed to be among themselves. The management here is doing something right if the employees are genuinely happy even when no customers are involved. Our room, #239, was perfect. We were happy to see the carpeting gone and replaced with faux wood flooring. The bathrooms looked updated with the granite added. Our only suggestion would be to add a towel hook near the shower...getting out of the shower dripping wet to walk across the stone floor to grab a towel makes for a wet mess. Having a towel hook next to the shower would have made that not necessary. Our view of the river was, of course, ideal. The bed was comfortable but relatively firm. Everything was clean. I did miss the little Best Western notepad and pen, which come in handy for noting addresses of places we were heading to in the area. Breakfast, with our excellent "cook" Justin, was ideal. We really enjoyed the new recommended omelets. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Bay View Bistro in the hotel (which we've reviewed separately) and love the convenience after our eight-hour drive of having a nice meal without having to drive somewhere. It's obvious that this Best Western takes pride in its hotel, employees and food offerings. We will definitely be back next year when we return to visit family once again.

« Great people, great service, great food! »

This place really had me from hello. The two people behind the desk at checkin were friendly and welcoming. We headed over to their dining area and enjoyed an awesome meal with an equally impressive view. Andrea and Kelly really made us feel welcomed and were helpful in recommending local attractions. All in all it was a really great stay!! I would definitely come back!!! Love you guys !!! Peace and love from Delaware, Jekka's Folly

« Great ending to a fabulous Oregon coast vacation. »

We were originally planning to drive through Florence. After passing the Best Western Pier Point Inn and seeing the incredible view, we decided to inquire about staying. Everyone, including our reservation contact at the 800 line was extremely helpful and friendly. April and Sabrina at the front desk took care of us. They did not steer us wrong with their recommendation to eat at the Bay View Bistro. We recommend the beef medallions made by chef RJ, it melts in your mouth. We would definitely come back!

    « A random Selection »

My wife and I were traveling on a much appreciated vacation with no particular agenda or time constraint. We randomly decided on a nights stay in Florence, Oregon and, as usual, secured reservation at a Best Western property in Florence, Oregon. I must say it was one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences I have ever had. The view from our room was beautiful, the resteraunt was outstanding and served one of the best meals I have ever enjoyed. I've traveled the world and stayed in some of the finest hotels, but never enjoyed a hotel more.

« Not worth the money »

I was disappointed with the room not having a chair to set in. Also the toilet was like setting on the floor. The bathroom door was next to the bed. We had to turn the heat up to make it blow warm air. At 70 it was cold air at 80 it finally got warm. I stayed here for the pool. The boys I was with used it but I didn't because you have to walk down 2 flight of stairs and I just couldn't do it. We could hear the water draining when someone above used the bathroom. The breakfast was good. When I arrived I had to wait for the lady to check in. She told me the guy would show me where to park and to my room and help with any bags. He took me to the stairs and told me how to get to my room. I have stayed at Best Westerns before and have better experience. I now stay at other hotels that are cheaper and just as good or better. I only stayed at this one for the pool. And it wasn't worth the price.

« Our preferred hotel in Florence, OR »

We plan our vacation based on experience with hotels and restaurants along the coast. The Pier Point Inn is one of our favorites. They really saved our plans for a delightful dinner at the Waterfront Depot in Florence, OR. Dur to car problems, we were uncertain how our timing would be. The desk duty manager took excellent care of our needs. Thank you.

    5
« Great for the price »

We really enjoyed our stay. They had a big breakfast that was pretty good, though a little short on fruit. The pool, hot tubs, and workout facility suited our needs. Also a great price and our dog was able to stay with us. Couldn't have been happier.

« Clean and friendly, with a terrific view of the Siuslaw Bridge and riverfront »

Friendly greeting, personable staff, clean room with a comfy king sized bed, lovely view from the terrace (we stayed on the top floor), and a very nice breakfast spread included in the price. We stayed for 3 nights and felt it was absolutely an excellent choice and a real bang for the buck. The pool area down on the bottom floor still provides a great view of the river, and it's heated. (Sadly, you cannot enjoy this view from either of the two jacuzzi tubs.) There is a bathroom for changing down there, but they don't really provide any lockers for keeping your clothes safe, so I'd bring a bag or basket for that. If you arrive tired and hungry, or want a romantic meal, do try the attached restaurant (which I've reviewed elsewhere).

    « Surprised And Delighted »

We weren't quite ready to leave the coast and decided to stay in Florence at the last minute. We'd never stayed at the Pier Point Inn before and were so pleased with what we found! The rooms were clean and cozy, and we got a wonderful view of the river. The staff was friendly and welcoming... more so than at hotels costing three times as much. The free breakfast on the following day was absolutely amazing. Up until this trip we'd passed this hotel by, thinking that an older building wouldn't be as nice. I'm glad to admit we were wrong. The Pier Point Inn is great and we plan to stay again very soon!

    3
    « Be back soon »

Front desk note said be back soon, we waited over a half hour to check in to the room! While the room was clean you could tell it was in need or a remodel, conditioner pump out of order! Pillows were not comfortable at all for a stomach sleeper! Following day the breakfast was good though! This was a average place, at a high rate, and I took 2 rooms for family members!

    5
« over the top friendly! »

I don't know what's in the water they're drinking but I've never encountered such gregarious staff, right across the board, from check in staff (nagged me to let kids eat the freshly made cookies before dinner) to omelette making lady (asked my daughter twice if she enjoyed the omelette made for her) to the staff busing tables (brought us a handful of apples 'for the road'). This was the first Best Western of 3 we stayed at during our Oregon road trip and it spoiled us for the rest!

    5
« Great breakfast, views, staff »

Made-to-order omelets were a great feature of the many breakfast options included in the rate. View of the river was very nice to enjoy, and we didn't mind the very quick drive across the bridge into the main downtown area of Florence. Staff was friendly and responsive, answering a linens request almost instantly, and providing good beach and dune recommendations at the front desk. Kids loved the hot cookies on arrival. Good beds, very clean rooms. Didn't try the pool but we were glad to have it as an option with the weather far from guaranteed in the spring!

« All their Five Star ratings are deserved..... »

We totally agree with all the positive comments you're reading in other reviews. If you're able to negotiate stairs, we highly recommend getting third level rooms for the spectacular views. Staff were super cheerful, friendly and eager to please... No question...we enjoyed the Pier Point Motel very much....Next time, well haf'ta try their restaurant!

« hotel pier point inn, florence Or, best restaurant ever »

One of the things that makes this hotel exceptional is the restaurant. The food was amazing. It was definitely not your usual restaurant in hotel experience. Everything down to the salads and dressings were amazing.

« Great views, great staff, great stay »

We were just doing a 1 night get away and were pleasantly surprised just how nice a facility this is. They have everything, fantastic views, restaurant and lounge, great breakfast, very friendly staff. We'll be back.

    « Peaceful River Stay »

This hotel and staff are truly exceptional. The staff were consistently hospitable and helpful, the room quiet and clean with a fantastic view of the Suislaw River. The restaurant served exceptional meals, Choippino and Osso Bucco were some of the best I've had with fine complementary wine selections. The front desk personnel: Sabrina, Sage, Annarie, April; the restaurant staff, Andrea and Chef R.J.; and the house men, Daniel and Rich, all made the stay fabulous. My mother and I had a wonderful vacation. We will return again next year.

    « A bit grim »

Having stayed at some lovely guest houses and B&Bs on the coast, this was a bit of a shock and distinctly average. Service was okay (and breakfast service was fab) but the room was pretty grim and the location was the wrong side of the river, so you couldn't walk out around the old town and enjoy the town. My suggestion would be to enjoy the old town and then drive to a guest house elsewhere.

Great location. Rooms were very clean and had a view of the river. Check in and out was easy. Quiet and beds were comfortable. Dinning on premises was very good with nice selection of entrees and a helpful staff.

« In need of renovation »

The staff here are really great. They are very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The views from the room are terrific as others have mentioned. It is an older hotel however and as such it is in need of renovation. When we walked into our room I commented to my husband that it had a very musty smell to it. He said that it was because it's an older hotel. The carpets are soiled and in need of a good cleaning. In our room the carpet was very badly frayed at the entrance to the washroom. In the washroom itself it is not possible to turn on the light without also turning on the fan making it very noisy when you use the washroom The temperature in the room cannot be regulated. When we arrived the heat was turned right off and yet the temperature in the room in February was 70. We like to sleep in a cool room and the only way we could accomplish this was to open the patio door and open the drapes so we could get the cold air from outside. Breakfast was decent. They do make eggs to order so that is nice. I don't know that I would stay at this Best Western again as it was not a nice way to end an evening after travelling.

« One of the Best Hotels I've stayed at. »

Hands down awesome hotel! Views are amazing but that is nothing compared to the customer service I recieved here. Everyone is super friendly. There was a lady who made breakfast a little more amazing. Not only did they have made to order omlets which are included in your breakfast, there was a lady there who made homemade biscuits and gravy which were amazing!!!! Hot tub and pool were an added plus. Bed was super comfortable and room was new! Balcony led out to some nice views and was great to wake up to fresh air! Thanks for a great stay!

« Friendly service, great views »

Just back from spending a few days in Florence. Comfortable bed, great view of the waterfront facing old town. Staff were very friendly, especially the breakfast chef who put an early morning smile on your face with her friendly and welcome attitude. You never quite know what you are in for with a Best Western, but this is one of the best.

    « Great Anniversary weekend »

The hotel was nice. Our room was big and my daughter loved that there were 2 hot tubs. We went down both days for the fabulous breakfast. I encountered 1 employee on several occassions who was very friendly, amazing smile and attitude. Shout out to TABATHA!!!! You are a ray of sunshine :)

    « Almost Perfect »

The staff is incredibly helpful and professional. The property is clean and beautiful. Room was great and the beds are pretty comfortable with ample amount of pillows and extra blankets. Nice view of the water. ONLY complaint was that there is no direct indoor route to the hot tub. You have to go outside and then down 2 flights to get to it. Also, there is no elevator.

Not only is the Best Western Pier Point Inn a very clean and friendly place to stay, but it has a great omelet bar to wake up to. The staff cannot do enough for you to make your stay pleasant. All the rooms have a great views. If you want a great stay in Florence Or check out the Best Western Pier Point Inn.

    « Perfect 3 Night stay »

We have stayed at the Pier Point Inn several times, and each time is a pleasure. We have never had any complaints. The employee's are always so pleasant and friendly we would recommend a stay here to everyone. Rooms with a perfect view and peaceful for a good restful night.

    « Excellent! »

I always stay at best western when I travel and this one is probably one of the top 3 I've enjoyed staying at. Customer service was higher than excellent with there warm greeting. Along with our check in came with complimentary warm home made cookies. And If that wasn't enough, they have family board games you can borrow and take back to your room to play. Even better you can leave in your room on check out. The staff will return it. I can't say enough good things with this place. This is a must drop in for anyone!

« Great stay in Florence »

This turned out to be a great stay for the family. The kids (8 & 10) loved the pool and the breakfast was terrific, with the individually made omelettes. We spent the day at the dunes and on the beach. Couldn't be happier with our stay in Florence.

« Great coastal town motel. »

We stayed here for two nights. The room was quiet (we had a corner room) - the pool looked inviting early in the morning when we peeked in to see it (see picture, although we didn't have time to try it out. The breakfast was Ok, they had someone making cooked to order eggs/omelets (one day they were great, the next day so-so). We had great river view and would love to stay here again.

    « Look No Further! »

Best Western in Florence, Oregon is one of the best ocean stays yet! You are greeted upon entering and made to feel welcome. Rooms are very clean and quiet with comfortable beds; also spacious for some elbow room. Late night views are some of the best ever! This glistening lights across the river- peaceful! The breakfast is phenomenal with a large variety of choices, including 'made to order' omelets. We will be returning to this motel!

    « Excellent Everything »

We stayed over Valentines day weekend and were very impressed with the helpfulness of the staff the cleanliness and everything. the Wifi was strong enough and didn't go out. there was plenty of everything we needed and the view of the river was awesome no matter where we were. we were especially impressed at their knowledge of the town and where to go for anything you need.

    « Great place »

My wife and I happened on this best Western by accident. Our son and future daughter-in-law live here in Florence and we wanted to come visit. This is a very clean hotel, the people are very nice, and the complementary breakfast is just a plus. We will definitely come back.

    « Can't Recommend this Hotel »

While there are some good things about this hotel, we can't recommend it even though we're Best Western Platinum guests. The best things about this hotel are terrific breakfasts, friendly staff, and good views of the river. Bad things are location and property maintenance. As for the location, it's across the river from the town and thus inaccessible to all the great restaurants and shopping. The parking lot is long and narrow and, if it's busy, you may have difficulty getting from point A to point B. There are no elevators. The only place for a dog to use is a little 10 foot by 4 foot bit of astroturf. It's definitely not friendly for the disabled or people who don't like stairs. As for maintenance, issues we had during our stay: our TV didn't work (they had to move a new one into our room), neither the elliptical or the treadmill worked in the fitness room (the treadmill got repaired the day after we reported it), the drain in the bathtub wouldn't stay open to drain unless you physically held it open (they had to replace the whole drain apparatus), the room sloped downward towards the windows (they told us they knew this, but it was because they were built on a hill), and the refrigerator was noisy (we didn't bother reporting this because we'd complained about so much other stuff). This is one of the more expensive hotels in the Florence area, but they don't provide a commensurate quality product. One more example: they only had one person working there in the evenings and when she came to our room to spend half an hour unsuccessfully trying to get our TV to work, there was nobody available at the desk to check anyone in or direct people to the restaurant. We unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel.

« Avoid this Poorly Managed Hotel »

Let me begin with the positives: it has nice views and good breakfasts. Now, some of the negatives (don't have enough space for everything). We're elite Best Western Hotel members, so we like and stay at lots of Best Westerns. We booked for three nights. The hotel is all exterior entrances; not good for the disabled, anyone who has trouble with stairs, or anyone who would prefer not to walk to breakfast in the rain. The first night, there was something I wanted to watch on TV, but the TV only got the weather channel and the volume kept kicking out. I fiddled with it for quite a while and finally called the office. There was only one person working, but she nicely left the desk and came to our room. She tried for half an hour, even calling the maintenance guy on duty; they couldn't get it to work. (This staffing probably explains why we and one other customer had to wait until someone showed up in order to check in; I can imagine there might have been some more inconvenienced customers waiting while she was trying unsuccessfully to get our TV to work. They replaced the TV the next day. Explanation: "We've been having a lot of trouble since management switched to Charter"). The next morning, I took a shower and the tub wouldn't drain. I had to physically hold the drain open until the water was out. (They replaced the drain the next day. Explanation: "It's not you, we've had to replace a lot these.") We also mentioned to the desk person the next day that the whole room was downhill towards the window (Answer: "Yes, we know, it's because we're on a hill"). We mentioned to a server at a nice restaurant in Florence that we're staying there. Her response, "Oh, I used to work there. It was like working for a drunken uncle." We also didn't like that they charge $20 per night for our dog, even though our dog was much better behaved and probably cleaner than the kids staying there. Overall, the hotel was inadequately staffed and poorly maintained; there are lots of hotels with better locations and lower rates in Florence, we'd recommend trying one of them.

« Nice along the coast of Oregon »

Nice motel with bay view and easy access off highway. A nice option for Florence Oregon. Views to bay-side retail area. Better than standard breakfast with an omelet station. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

    « Pleasure/concert »

I loved the free cookies, they were amazing. the staff was so nice and friendly, and i would always go back, the room was very clean even though the fridge was not actually turned on our food did go bad. But other than that, the breakfast was great and we had a great stay for our anniversary

    « A Cut above »

I have stayed at over 30 Best Western properties in the last 2 years, and this gem is the best of them. Why? First, it has the best breakfast. it's the only Best Western I've been to that has an omelet station with a chef ready to make your omelet to order. Second, the staff bend's over backwards to be helpful. They'll show you to your room and help you with your bags. Third, attention to detail. The room was immaculate, with chocolates on the nightstand. The phone rang 30 minutes after I was in my room. It was the front desk making sure I found the room comfortable. And last of off all, It's situated on the south shore of the Siuslaw River and has a great view of the small town of Florence across the way. Very cozy and quiet. Don't hesitate to stay here!

very nice motel on bay, clean and very helpful, the complimentary breakfast was the best I've had, with a nice view of the bay. I would recommend this motel even if you have pets they do allow, which is nice so many motels do not anymore. thank you for making my stay enjoyable.

Overall staff service was excellent. Facility was very good but did need some upgrading, room interior. Need stricter pet rules, ie animals can not be left unattended. Did have some trouble with card keys. In two night stay, wife and I had to have them re-keyed 4-5 times.

« Good deal when you consider the free breakfast »

We were running out of daylight and instead of trying to make it home we booked a room last minute here. I cringed at the price, but after the experience, and the excellent breakfast it felt worth it. I've never had such a full breakfast at a hotel before. We would have spent about $40 if we'd gone out for breakfast, so this made it all feel like a good value.

« Their mistake, not their problem. »

I reside at this location once a month year round. The price they charge is the highest of all the Best Westerns I stay and is by no means the nicest. One of my recent stays the hotel made a mistake and said I booked through a third party even though I made no reservations at all. They did not award the correct amount of rewards points, 500 vice 2450, which add up as i stay in hotels 7+ days a month. I contacted best western 3 times and the manager of the location. No resolution. They say the other has to rectify the problem. Yea, It is only reward points but as I stay a week or more at Best Westerns every month those points add up. Such poor customer service for such a lower class location.

« Clean rooms, great view »

Glad we selected Pier Point Inn as we arrived after a lot of detours and received a warm reception and a room upgrade with a great view of the water and city on the opposite shore. Weather was good so we had a nice walk to the excellent breakfast - art of the plan.

    4
« Great Place to Stay with a Pet »

This is our second visit to the Pier Point Inn. The girl at the desk this evening (Cara) and the jack-of-all-trades (JD) couldn't have been more helpful. The heat in our room hasn't functioned well this visit, and JD was right there to do a reset inside the heater. It is now slowly heating up in here. Aside from that, it's great to have our pet with us and she is very happy here, as we are. They have a very nice breakfast each morning ... more of a restaurant style than just a continental breakfast. We will always stay here when we are in Florence.

    4
    « Pierpoint Inn, Florence »

Rooms very affordable, has two hot tubs but one was not working. Excellent breakfast options. Beautiful views. Great Location. Could use additional or better pet areas as the inn is pet friendly. Bed was a little hard for our comfort but not very many inns have "Sleep Number" beds.

    2
« No Honor of advanced reserbations »

No need to make reservation in advance----they will not honor request for special needs. Asked and need ADA room for my wife. The room was not what I asked for weeks in advance of our stay. I had asked them when I made the reservation to call me to let us know if a ADA room was open for our date. Food over priced as are the drinks. Pool impossible for handicap people to get too. Along walk to room from food service.

    « A Staff that Cares »

We've stayed at this hotel in the past 15 years or so and while its had its ups and downs, the view and location are hard to beat. Made a reservation for the same room we had in the past and it was confirmed but when checking in, it turned out not to be. After a brief discussion, the general manager, Leisa Perkins stepped right in and after wrestling with the computer for a bit she was able to secure our room for us. Not only that but when she found out that we were going to have some wine & cheese she got us some glasses and plates to enjoy them properly. This was above and beyond our expectations for a chain hotel but is one of the many reasons why we will always stay here during our travels thru the area. Another thing is that you are always greeted by the staff when passing the front desk instead of them hiding behind their computer screens. A small thing but it counts toward your overall satisfaction. You'll enjoy the specially prepared breakfast as well as the indoor pool & spa as well.

    4
    « good location »

have stayed here several times, rooms are clean, quiet, nice view of the river, easy drive to old town, breakfast is usually good but not this last time don't know if it was just a fluke or the new normal

    « Overall fantastic! »

Very accommodating staff and excellent range of amenities: pool, spa, sauna, breakfast. Even welcomed our dogs, which is a big bonus! Great price for the fabulous location and 5-star presentation of the room. The one issue was about a miscommunication with which room I thought I was reserving, but the staff handled it excellently and graciously and got me the room I was expecting! Great location too! Will definitely be coming back.

« Very Nice overnight stay »

My wife and I with our 2 young boys stayed here on our way to California for Christmas. The room was clean and comfortable with a great view of the river and bridge - which was a bonus but not needed as we were arriving late after hours on the road and leaving early. Our main reason for choosing the hotel was the indoor pool for the kids - it was clean and warm with the same great view. We were not informed the hot tubs were out of order, which wasn't a big deal but would have been nice to know. Overall great pool facility, especially for little kids. But the reason I will stay here next time without question is the breakfast. The breakfast was great for a included hotel breakfast at the rate we paid but the gal (didn't get her name but just relocated from Wyoming) who took care of us was super friendly and makes a mean omelette. So often the branded hotel breakfasts are a bunch of filler foods w/ no flavor, but this one, along with the river view once again was a winner!

« Stay here if you want a great Best Western breakfast »

The chef here cook omelets on a hot plate and does an excellent job. This should be the standard for Best Western. The excellent breakfast selection includes hot and cold cereals, waffles, baked goods and fruit.

« Coastal hotel with views. »

Traveling from WA. through OR to CA. Great place. 3 story, we got 2 rooms on lower floor. One had carpeting one had hardwood type flooring. May have been updated. Both rooms had bay view nice old type bridge to view. Very clean, coffee maker, hair dryer, small frig and microwaves. A nice room with views with EXCELLENT dinner and presentation. Would go there again in a heart beat. Free continental/ simi full breakfast (the cook will cook eggs for you) in an adjacent room to the dinner room, with lots of choices and large picture windows.

« Friday night after Thanksgiving »

.My wife and I were traveling down the Oregon coast for the long Thanksgiving weekend. Staying just one-night each at different locations, to enjoy the scenery and try our luck at some of the local casinos. .The Best Western Pier Point Inn seemed like the best location for what we wanted. Saige, at the front desk, was very helpful in getting us registered, and checked us into the perfect room. It was large, clean and modern, very quiet and had a nice view of the river. My wife and I got a good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. We had a wonderful complimentary breakfast, that included just about everything anybody would want to have for breakfast. Went for a nice dip in the swimming pool afterwards. The water was clear, warm, and very relaxing. We had a wonderful stay. Everyone was very friendly, and helpful. We will definitely stay there again.

    « Weekday Getaway »

Came to the coast for a birthday weekend. Never have been so excited that my partner's birthday is in the late Fall; the mushrooms have been amazing, espechially the Depot and ONA in Yachats. This was capped off by our welcome to the Best Western Pier Point Inn. Their employee David offered to help with our bags. We being 30 and 28 gatefully declined but appreciated the offer. As well as the Cara at the front desk was a saint and made us feel right at home. The place to stay.

Cara was very personable helpful and professional during our stay! Will most definitely stay here again! This was a very stressful trip due to the time of year and it was very refreshing to encounter an employee such as Cara upon check in! We will most likely stay here in our return due to itinerary changes and the friendliness of the staff here!

« Literally, the best motel yet! »

The Pier Point Inn was fabulous! I was nervous about how they would accept our dogs, but they accepted them with open arms. Moreover, they even provided dog beds and treats for our fur-kids!! No other facility has ever done that for our fur-kids. And the pet charge was very reasonable. The facility was well-kept, and the room was very nice. The room was up-to-date, and had a nice clean, fresh smell. Unlike so many other facilities, where the smell is old and stale. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was fabulous. The only thing I would recommend to change is the turf in the pet area. I would recommend changing the turf out with natural grass. However, that was the only thing I could recommend to change. We will DEFINITELY be back!!

« Great Place on the River »

Stayed here without a reservation on a trip up the coast. It was much nicer than I expected. It sits above the Siuslaw River, and many rooms have views of it, as does the hotel restaurant. The rooms are very tidy and comfortable. It was quiet when I was there. The staff is very nice and very helpful. Easy access to 101. Restaurant was O-K, typical of a hotel restaurant. Rates were good. I highly recommend for those looking for a place to stay in that area.

« Beautiful Siuslaw River view and exceptional service staff and manager »

We come here often and always have a wonderful experience. Our last stay was for a US Coast Guard Auxiliary meeting at Station Siuslaw. Overall the hotel was great!. The room was clean, omelet station at breakfast was awesome, the attached restaurant was moderately priced with good food and portions. « Quirky But Delightful »

I stayed at the Best Western Pier Point Inn for one night on September 23 with my husband and 9-year-old son. We chose a room with a view of the river and a balcony, and I'm glad we did - the view was very nice! In fact my son slept on the bed closest to the sliding glass door with the curtains open so he could see the lights of Florence across the river before he fell asleep. The room we stayed in was narrow, the building rambles a bit since it is situated on a cliff, and the parking lot is tight (there is limited space available for a parking lot), but we thought that added to the quirky spirit of the place. The beds were comfortable, although I thought my pillow was too firm. We were on a road trip, so having a fridge and microwave was nice. The bathroom was a good size and the shower felt nice. My son and I did venture down all the stairs to the pool (it is on a lower level and there is no elevator). It had a nice view of the river from large windows running down one wall. The pool area furniture was also very nice and comfortable. The pool was smaller but fine for us (we had the pool to ourselves). The water was cooler than I would have liked, and I could only stay in for so long before I was too cold and retreated to the hot tub (there are two hot tubs, but one was closed for maintenance). We had a quiet night of sleep, and then really enjoyed the included breakfast in the morning. It was awesome, and had a great variety (including one hot dish prepared by a chef). We had fun playing in the nearby sand dunes, which are practically just down the street. During our road trip, we stayed at 5 different hotels and this was my family's favorite. My son is already asking for us to plan a return trip with our dog (the Inn is pet-friendly).

    « Excellent! »

    « Only one problem... »

Lovely room, gorgeous view, pet-friendly, desk staff- like Laurel- and a very nice room escort named David -all good! Did not eat there, so no opinion. One problem for old people with limitations, no elevator. That is what David does. He helps with getting a person to the room. The stairs limited my mobility, made walking my dogs a problem. But if these are not concerns for you, ENJOY!

    « Excellent Room »

We stayed in a king room. This is a very nice room with a huge tv. The bathroom has lots of room. There are even two sinks! There are lots of stairs here but they have someone to carry your bags!! This is a nice hotel. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. Come try it out!

« The BEST of the Best Western Hotels in our travels so far. »

We have been working/traveling the western states for the past 8 years. We were former business/home owners near Bay Street in Florence and did not know the hotel across the river was so awesome. We have always had the Chef's fresh, made-to-order breakfast and never disappointed. Pet friendly, river view rooms and restaurants are spotless and comfortable every visit.

« Breakfast? Yes! Eggs Made to Order? Yes! »

While not a modern, plush, or upscale type hotel, your basic comfort needs will be met. My husband and I have visited twice and have always found the staff to be friendly. Surprisingly, a nice breakfast is included with a chef-manned egg bar where you can have an omelet whipped up or eggs made the way you like. Additional breakfast stuffs are self service. Most rooms have a view of the bay. We had dinner at the restaurant after arriving because we were tired and didn't feel like venturing out. I had fish and chips which does not come with coleslaw nor could they make it and my husband had a hamburger with fries. My fish (although fresh) was too greasy/oily and my chips were just that, thin matchstick fries that included broken bits/pieces making it awkward to eat them. I much prefer steak fries. My husband's burger was on the small side and just too fanciful, looking more like an art piece than an enticing, juicy burger. Fancy people don't come to stay at a Best Western, so the restaurant should have a menu that is a little more Oregon Coast fare merged with down-home cooking! On the way back home, we stopped in Veneta at the Daily Bread restaurant. I had fish & chips there which did include coleslaw and my husband had a fantastic burger. This meal was way better and less expensive. My advice is to stay at the Best Western, but don't eat at their restaurant. I'll mention that I have also stayed at the Driftwood Shores and while it's great to have an ocean view room, everything else there is very mediocre, including the rooms and their restaurant isn't good either and is way overpriced. I'd choose the Best Western instead and then go out to visit the beach/ocean!

« Wonderful hotel and staff »

Best Western Pier Point Inn is an amazing hotel! The location is great with a lovely view over the river from the breakfast area. Breakfast is absolutely delicious with the best fresh made salmon omelet! The temperature of the indoor pool as well as the hot tub is very comfortable and it all appeared to be well maintained and clean. We had a queen bed room, which isn't that big, but it had everything we could've wished for. The staff is very kind. Everyone we encountered greated us with lots of enthusiasm and the receptionists were most helpful. There is tea and coffee available in the lobby and don't forget the delicious oatmeal cookies they offer! We had a wonderful experience in Florence and highly recommend this hotel. It's maybe a bit pricy, but you do get high value.

Great hotel with an excellent location near the coast, river and sand dune recreation areas. We had a great view, the room was really nice and the mattress was fantastic. The breakfast that was included was also the best I've ever had in a hotel setting.

The staff I interacted with during my stay were exceptionally professional and courteous. The room was comfortable and the surrounding area very appealing. Special thanks to Gary and Melanie. There was a small concern regarding the windows in my room being that the screens were damaged; however, maintenance assured me there was nothing to be concerned about. Thank you to everyone and happy holidays.

    « Great vacation »

We went to the coast of Oregon for a quick two-night getaway. What a delight to find this Best Western! It was in a great location on the Suislaw River. We got a dog-friendly room for our two mutts and it was very nice. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well as the gorgeous view from our balcony.

« I would definitely stay here again »

I stayed here about 12-15 years ago and was disappointed but this time! The rooms have all been upgraded and have a great view. The beds are super comfy and the rooms very clean and quiet. The view from the balcony is quite nice and the staff was super helpful and friendly. My only complaint was the balcony light - no way to turn it off and I don't like to use black out curtains so the light coming into my room was a bit annoying. They do a great job for breakfast as well with the custom egg station where the chef makes your custom order.

    « A pleasant surprises »

We were expecting a standard Best Western hotel as we traveled up the Oregon Coast. Pier Point was defiantly not that. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. All rooms had a balcony or deck overlooking the river and with a nice view of the Florence waterfront. We had been driving all day, and decided to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant. They have a varied menu which included local seafood options. Our meals and the service were very good. Breakfast was included, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that it included a chef's station where custom omelettes could be ordered. Now for the negatives. The room itself and the bathroom were small and outdated, although very clean. Pier Point is built on several levels with many steps and corridors, and there is no elevator. If this is a problem for you, be sure to mention this when making your reservation so you can get a room accessible by ramp. They do have someone available to carry luggage to your room. We would stay here again because of the staff and the location.

    « great stay »

The staff really went out of their way to ensure I was able to get the rooms I needed for my husband and me with my service dog. They were extremely accommodating and I really cannot thank them enough since the reservations through the national line got so fouled up. The pet area was kept clean and serviced. Really a great stay, thank you.

    « Wonderful! »

We got into Florence late, and we were very tired. The staff greeted us with friendliness and were very helpful (directing us to a parking spot right by our room, and helping with baggage.) We appreciate the hotel is pet friendly. We ordered from the restaurant on the property--and though they don't have room service, it was so easy to pick it up and take it to our room. Great clam chowder and fish and chips! We would most definitely spend another night here. The restaurant was gorgeous inside and had a wonderful view outside.

« Best Best Western I've ever stayed at! »

I must start out by saying that I have never once stayed at a Best Western in North America that didn't make me angry. This hotel may have finally salvaged my opinion of this chain, and for that they deserve extra kudos. I stayed in a room on the third floor (a deluxe king). It was good value for money. Pros: - The room was immaculately clean, majorly important to me. - The bed was so very comfy, with pillows of all variety and white sheets/cover. - The sitting area was nice, with a couch, coffee table and TV area. There was also a desk with seating. - The balcony offered a nice view overlooking Florence across the bay. - The bathroom was well-appointed - The staff were absolutely professional - They had cookies :) - No smoking - All rooms have bay view I believe Cons: - None. It feels so good to say that. I will absolutely stay here again. Best Western owes these folks a debt of gratitude for how they represent their brand.

« Excellent Pet Friendly Hotel! »

By pure luck we found a hotel at the last minute near us that is pet friendly. We crossed the famous Siuslaw River Bridge and were quite surprised at the high quality of this chain hotel/inn. Our one night stay included a free full proper breakfast--which we did not eat because we became ill from ICM Seafood Restaurant's dinner. At any rate, we did take advantage of the free tea, coffee, and baked cookies. The staff was grade A and incredibly friendly. The view from our room was awesome! We had a view of the historic town and river. Our poochie loved this place as well!

« Peace and Quiet With A View »

If you desire a quiet, relaxing evening on the river, this is the place. Dinner is offered at the hotel as well as Old Town, a drive across the bridge. The hotel is very welcoming, similar to a cabin in the woods. The rooms are set up in twos with one entrance rather than a row of rooms. Parking is convenient, the lobby is a short walk. And the staff are really friendly!

« Great room and view »

This was a great hotel to stay in Florence. The hotel has been updated and is fresh, clean and comfortable. The room is arranged a little crazy but other than that it is a great place to stay. The restaurant is good and the breakfast was good also. We liked that we could park our car at our door step which made it easy to bring in our luggage. The rooms are quiet!

    « Smelly room »

We stayed in a 'dog friendly' room and it was felt like a smelly basement. It was not necessarily dirty. It was dark, musty, and not pleasant. There was double sided adhesive barely holding up the mirror frame in the bathroom. The hotel is 'dog friendly' but the only available grassy area was a small patch of fake grass. Breakfast offerings were good. The breakfast room became very crowded. There were vases on each of the tables with dead flowers in them and murky, thick, discolored water. Ours was particularly gross because a dead fly was in the murky water. We enjoyed the sand dunes nearby, but will not choose this hotel again.

« Great view, great room »

This hotel was a great get away. It has been updated and is fresh and inviting. The breakfast room is comfortable and the view is good from there also. We had no problem parking even though we went out at night. The restaurant looked good but we had already made other plans.

Part I. Just got here so initial impressions. Sitting on the balcony overlooking the river listening to seagulls call. Evening sunset light reflecting off the town across the water. Peaceful. Nice. Staff exceedingly friendly and helpful. Cara at front desk exceptional. Check in seemless and accomdating. All good so far. Will do part II after we spend the night.

    « Nice but Overpriced »

While traveling down the coast of Oregon we pulled into the Best Western Pier Point Inn in Florence around 6pm. Without reservations this late arrival is usually a mistake as you pay a high price $182 and get stuck with what's available, in this case the handicap room without a lake view. Beyond that the hotel in general and setting was very nice.

    « Welcoming »

Nice clean room, great bay view from the balcony. The area has low traffic volume and is quiet. The breakfast was unexpectedly good as was the coffee. Staff was friendly and helpful. In room amenities were good. Follow the directions and go to breakfast early, as is does get busy.

« Great location with river view, clean room, nice balcony »

This is one of the best Best Westerns we have stayed at. It's a little tricky getting into the parking lot from the 101, and then there were vehicles with trailers taking up 3-4 parking spaces - but we found the last one. All the rooms have wonderful views of the river and Old Town Florence on the other side. If the weather is good, it's an easy walk across the bridge to the town. We had no complaints about the service - extra friendly check-in staff - or the condition of the room. The restaurant has the same great views, but we enjoyed some dishes and not others. (Loved the spinach-artichoke dip, sent the awful crab cakes back - not like any we've ever tasted.) They have some pet-friendly rooms and all of them have the view of the river. The top floor might be the quietest?

« Pet "accommodating", not pet "friendly" »

Nice accommodations with a spectacular view of Florence directly across the river. Decent free breakfast with make your own waffles) leave them in a minute or two after the beat if you want them crisp and not rubbery), Decent Omelet Station, among the worst sausages, link and patty, that I've eaten, fruit bowl didn't taste fresh. Motel is immediately below 101 and the bridge but not much road noise at the far end of the motel where our room was. Pet friendly? Not really, no water bowls, or biscuits and they make you sign an agreement (which isn't mentioned on its website) that you will pay $300.00 if your pet has an "accident". We've stayed at may places that allow dogs, including other Best Westerns and have never encountered that. IMO that's what the pet fee is for.

    « Fine hotel, just needs a little fine-tuning »

We like this hotel so much that when we saw what a depressed & sketchy area Coos Bay was, we drove the 40 minutes back up north to stay at this hotel (where we stayed 2 years prior as well). Great location off the highway yet overlooking the river so view is outstanding & surprisingly quiet, especially on the top floor. The staff were all very helpful & friendly. The room was a bit worn, carpet could have been cleaner but bed was very comfortable with white linens assuring cleanliness. Because the weather transitioned rapidly from warm to cool, they hadn't flipped some switch on the wall temp control. We kept waiting for it to warm up but by the time we realized there was a problem we went to bed. When we reported it the next morning, the staff made it right by sending maintenance while we enjoyed the lovely included breakfast overlooking the river. We were further surprised to be told by staff that they offset the high price of the room due to our inconvenience. Now THAT's thoughtful! Bathroom fan was obnoxious! No other light was available in the bathroom so if you wanted light you had to listen to this terrible fan- very irritating. Light couldn't be turned off on veranda which interfered with our sleep & beautiful night view. It would be nice to have the choice of turning it off & avoiding light pollution. Overall, we returned to this hotel for good reasons & with a tiny bit of fine-tuning, it would be an excellent hotel to spend a relaxing time.

    « Dinner with a view »

WE did not stay here because we were in an RV, however, we would have . We did have dinner here two nights and it was excellent. The view of the river, the food and the staff were wonderful and made for a very enjoyable time. There were six of us and we rated their Clam chowder the best in Florence and we ate out every meal.

    « Friendly atmosphere / great town »

The restaurant serves excellent food. Great Clam Chowder and excellent steaks! All the employees were friendly. The rooms are spacious with great views overlooking the river. The pool area is very inviting with wonderful views of the river and old town Florence. Need to fix the ice machines that was the only downside.
