Best Western Hotel High Road Inn, Edson

This is a great hotel to stay in. Rooms are clean and updated. The breakfast from the attached restaurant is very appreciated from rather than the standard continental. Pool and water slide fair size not huge but clean!

Expensive & frustrating Brought in a huge group to the hotel, rented out the conference room, catered, cash bar, lots of rooms, lots of customers and frustrated that only 1 room was given a discounted rate. Other rooms have to call & try to get a hold of the manager. Also would have been nice to pre-order breakfast to go for time & convenience.

The hotel is centrally located in the town, nicely appointed with amenities, and best of all has a great staff who are always pleasant and ready to deal with any request you may have. Stayed here for many nights and into months and they were consistently pleasant and professional everyday.

Location is easy to get too and close to stores and restaurants. Quiet Sleep during my 2 night stay and would recommend it to anyone. Cleaning staff were very polite when asked for extra coffee for the room.

Hotel in the middle of town. Close to grocery store, and coffee shop. They offer a free breakfast and or a breakfast to go. Staff is great and caring. Beds are soft and blankets thick and soft. Appearance of hotel is nice and modern

We have stayed at the BW High Road for the duration of a lengthy contract working on a pipeline and the hotel remained a rock throughout this journey. Over 135 nights and without question the staff were amazing. Room rate and facility itself were terrific. We will certainly return upon further work in the area . . . you have a fan and champion of your hotel.

Was a longtime loyal best western customer. Until edson. On check in I was told that they are at capacity so I won't receive reward points. Pissed me off a little but whatever. I have do not disturb on my door Then I leave to go hit the grocery store. Return to the room within 10 minutes and find a “maintenance man” has entered my room. Totally lies about a co2 alarm going off so he had to make entry. Buddy across the hall said “ain't no alarms we're going off, he entered a minute after u left”

Overall this was a fantastic stay!! The room was clean and spacious. Pool was clean and safe with ample room to sit poolside to supervise kiddos. Coffee station in the main lobby was good and convenient. The breakfast was great and in a sit down environment in the attached restaurant. Bring a tip for the server!!

Clean room, lots of parking space, was very clean even though there were construction workers stay at property (continual cleaning happening). Internet was fast, lounge and restaurant were great. Enjoyed our stay, thanks to HRI Best Western!

Great value for the cost. Breakfast was provided by use of a voucher at the restaurant. Great selection for breakfast. Nice pool and water slide. Coffee was provided in the lobby all day. Staff were friendly and helpful. The internet worked very well.

We only spent one night but it was great fun, from the lounge to the pool, hot tub and water slide, back to the lounge kept us very busy! A very enjoyable evening! When in Edson again will stay at this hotel for sure!

I was very pleased with the site and service. Very comfortable surroundings and friendly staff. It was my first hotel stay in 16 months and the hotel was set up well to adjust to the still changing environment post Covid.

This hotel was great. My room was large, comfortable and very clean. All the common areas were also spotless. All the staff I met were very friendly and made me feel welcome. you are treated like family here... Best service I have ever had in any hotels I have stayed at. You either get a free lunch bag in the morning or a full free breakfast at their restaurant (free breakfast, so don't forget to drop a $2 tip for your server). Anywhere in this hotel, lounge, restaurant, front desk, house cleaning... you are always treated like family here. They have drop off laundry roughly under $9 a load. Drop off in the morning and you should have it ready by the evening, nicely folded for ya. If you are staying here be sure to drop off at least $20 of gratuity or more at the front desk once a week. They share the gratuity amongst them and all of them will know that you showed your appreciation. Great room as usual and there is a bar and restaurant attached. Found the bar food to be expensive but the atmosphere was nice and the srevice great. I thought it was unusual that a bar would run out of wing but they did, blaming it on the restaurant next door. I don't think that is fare. the bar should have forseen the shortage.

We unexpectedly stayed here for a short night in August. We were quickly given a room and the service was excellent. The room felt clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean and well-stocked. The room smelled of cigarette smoke, but we were offered the opportunity to switch rooms immediately upon mentioning this to the front desk. The to-go breakfast options due to Covid restrictions weren't the best, but is still an added value for guests looking to dash out the door with some quick bites to get their day going. Overall, a comfortable stay at a service oriented, good value hotel.

This hotel never fails to impress. Given the current COVID 19 event we knew ammentities would be lean however our stay was terrific. In large part to the great accommodations and the terrific staff. Price was good and the room and beds wonderful. Will continue to return to this location in the future.

Very pleased with my stay here. The rooms were clean and spacious and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Whenever I needed something the staff got it done right away. I also liked the laundry service that they supply.

Very nice hotel. On site pub had good food and service. We travelled with our dog and our room was located close to an exit that we could go in and out of(by tapping our room card). Housekeeping was accommodating with when we wanted the room cleaned. Room had coffee, fridge and microwave which we make use of. Internet was good.

Stayed as a group at a hockey tournament. Told because we were too loud "from the moment we checked in" we couldn't stay in the conference room past 11, though we were never told we were too loud before that time. Horrible service

Hotel was nice and clean. Staff were very friendly. Pool area is one of the cleanest we have ever seen. We were there for a hockey tournament and the staff were so good with the kids. Rooms were very clean.

They were able to accommodate us as walk-ins and the facility is very clean with all the amenities. Very pleasant staff. The hotel is easy to find as its right on the main highway and there's lots of parking for every sort of vehicle. I found the price a bit high but it's understandable because of the high volume of oilfield workers who use the hotels exclusively.

Front desk staff is terrible. it seemed like they don't like working there and in a wrong profession. We stayed with our kids and payed $159 for two queen beds, she made us paid for our kids breakfast where it should be included.

My Family came in was seen by front desk in the evening 10 pm and started to ask about the name of each in our family. Our first name and last name. That was staying in the room. I ask the other guest in the hotel and they did not have to give their names. Their excuse was that just in case of fire we will know who to contact.. we are minorities and we felt discriminated. No one has ever done that to us.

Each property has different policies and procedures that are followed. At our property we ask each and every reservation, the number of guests in the room as well as the names of the guests registered. Working with the Emergency departments in our area we have made a policy that all guests are to be registered in case of emergency so that we have an adequate count of guests in the hotel to ensure that all would be accounted for if there was an emergency. If a guest comes to the front desk requesting a key to the room, if they are not registered in the room a key will not be given. We fell that we are looking after our guest only no discrimination intended. This is not an excuse it is a procedure that we have implemented.

Great sleep comfy beds. The on sight pub had great atmosphere. Nice pool with water slide and small hot tub. Vouchers for a good hot breakfast in restaurant. Nice reception staff. Efficient and friendly. Clean well appointed comfy room.

Nice clean hotel, big room, comfortable mattresses, friendly service. Breakfast is served at sit down restaurant on the same property. Many restaurants and grocery stores are nearby. Stayed here on visit to Jasper. Jasper town is 1 hour 40 minutes away.

Can't say enough about the High Road Inn. Lillian at front desk was excellent. Very friendly and very happy. The Chinese Smorg was my incredible. We showed up with 30 people. All the food was plenty and fresh. Breakfast voucher was perfect for a pre ball game meal. Rooms are spacious and clean. Very nice place. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks High Road.

Awesome, clean and friendly place. The room was fantastic. Very clean, comfortable beds, nice decor and very spacious. Our room had a fridge and microwave, coffee machine and hairdryer. The staff were very accommodating. We had been driving since 4:30 am in the morning and we checked in at 10:30 pm. They were fast efficient and it was so appreciated as we were extremely tired!

We had a king size bed, and the bill was $150+ . The toilet in the room was dirty (number two style) and the shower had long brown/ black hairs in it... I have white blonde hair. Crumbs on our nightstand, old food in the fridge. Open bag of chips in the drawer. We stayed in a hotel in Calgary that was $40 cheaper and 100% nicer. I wouldn't ever stay here again. The food in the restaurant made us all sick. There was loud pounding music for hours heard in our room and our toddler could not sleep. Over all a poor experience.

It's rare to find a hotel with a restaurant these days, with all the newer hotels only offering a complimentary continental breakfast, which vary from cereal and pancake machines to somewhat edible hot breakfasts. When I travel I look first for a hotel with an attached restaurant, then the price.

This best western is wonderful! They staff are very wonderful and welcoming when you arrive. They help to explain everything right away! I had originally booked for one room but when I decided to stay two they right away had no problem changing it for me. I was in a king room and it was very spacious and setup nicely! My only complaints would be that the pillows are not that great of quality and unfortunately I did find a dirty cup when I went to have a glass of water. The pool is a good size and the hot tub is nice! Overall I enjoyed my stay here while I visited my husband.

I was working in the area and was driving into Edson and seen they had a Best Western.... I know exactly where I wanted to try and get my room. Easy to find, just off the Main Hwy 16 coming into Edson from the west. They have a bar, and a restaurant, pool, and Gym. Lots of parking for small and heavy trucks. They had a couple rooms for us and we were all set. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. It's not a brand new building, but is very clean and comfortable. Room was very quiet and the bed was great, I slept very well. I always have a great stay at the Best Western Hotel Chain. I know they have great service and take pride in taking care of the guests.

This is a message to the GM - in years of travelling and staying in hotels I have yet to see a line of guests waiting to check in where one agent is doing their best with a long line up and the other agent is ridiculously sitting by in the lobby texting away!!!! Have you no idea what this front desk staff failure to perform affects your guest experience and BW bylaws? It's a simple matter of you putting out the message to all staff if you are going to take a break fine - but not in the staff lobby and not sitting there happily texting away as their is a line up of guests - this is a GM leadership failure to deliver problem - suggest you fix it if your BW flag is valuable to your business - if I was a BW silent shopper this would be a different situation - now you know - hope you do something proactive here

Rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I found the staff very Friendly and accommodating. . The fact that there is a restaurant and lounge makes it that much better . Food was very good .

Admittedly Edson is a working town so the hotels here host a lot of workers from around the area. Hard luck these guys come and go from and to their shifts at all times day and night 24/7 making quite a bit of noise and disrupting other guests' sleep. We would not choose this location again for this reason although everything else as amenities, service and cleanliness were to BW standards.

What a great place. Two nights in paradise. Go and get comfortable. Check in and out was a breeze. Galloway's Pub & Honey Bee restaurant were superb. Super clean rooms, quiet and real easy access. When in Edson, it is number one place to stay.

I stayed in this hotel while travelling through Edson for work. The staff was very good to us coming off a long day driving. The rooms were spacious and well maintained. The only issue was you could hear people somewhat through the walls. Otherwise a great stay. I would come back and recommend others come here.

This hotel is nice and quiet, despite having a lot of travelers, you didn't notice them in your room. The rooms are spacious and tidy, and the beds comfy. You receive breakfast coupons to use at the Golden Honey restaurant (attached to the hotel), which is nice; however, breakfast is only so, so. Because the Golden Honey is a Chinese restaurant, the eggs and bacon and a slight taste of Chinese food, and everything was a little greasy; however, I would take this over a continental breakfast any day! Lastly, the waterslide and pool in this hotel is fantastic! The waterslide is so fast for a hotel slide - my kids and I loved it! The hot tub is a little small, but the water temperature was nice a hot, when usually hotel hot tubs are only a little warmer than tepid. My only complaint is the tile in the pool area is quite slippery, so bring a pair of flip flops to walk around in.

This is a more or less standard Best Western property but with a pub and restaurant, (although i didn't make use of either). It is in the middle of this small town but was nevertheless quiet. There was lots of parking. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, remedying a problem I had with my door lock as best they could promptly and without any fuss. My room was comfortable and clean with all the facilities I needed. Unusually, the complimentary breakfast was waitress-served and offered a choice of hot and cold options. There is a large grocery store and liquor store across the street from the hotel. Overall, it was a good place to stay and i would willingly return if in the area.

Ive stayed here a few times and it just feels like home. Ive worked in thus area for 6 years stayed in all the hotels and by far this one is the best , from the lounge to the pool to the breakfast thats offered you just cant beat it.

I stayed at the BW in Edson for the first time. Check in was quick, easy and friendly, as I had made a reservation online. I was given an upgrade at no additional cost, nice touch. Room was ready, clean and everything worked. The property appears to be have been well maintained. The breakfast itself is in the attached restaurant and is good. For an additional charge you can upgrade your breakfast. A breakfast voucher is required and can be obtained at the front desk. Staff was readily available, if need be. Overall good value for your hard earned dollars and I will return again, should the need arise.

Stayed at the Howard Johnson last time here and the comparative value for the money is night and day. This Best Western is light years ahead of the HoJo. Don't debate it. One is a hotel and one should be shut down. The adjacent Pub is excellent too.

We stayed one night on a hot July week in this hotel. The one thing that made us chose this one was the swimming pool and the decision point between HI and this BW was slightly better reviews for the BW, plus we've always heard good things about BW. Let's start with the good things: clean and spacious room, the swimming pool and slide were enjoyable with the kids. Now the rest: breakfast options are limited and boring, front desk tried to charge us a whooping $21 for a cot on top of the $140 we paid for the room (the kids ending up just sharing a bed), the room had a weird smell when we got in, made me think of cold tobacco mixed with some chemical that I'm guessing was used to get rid of the smell. Yes, it was supposed to be a smoke-free room. After we came back from dinner, that smell was gone thankfully. Body soap bottle in the bathroom was empty. The worst part was the AC. It was so loud in our room that we couldn't sleep with it on. We had to decide to sleep with no AC on a hot July night. Since the kids were very tired, we didn't ask to get a different room and risk potential further issues while dealing with moving our luggage and dealing with cranky kids. We've slept in other hotels, we have AC at home and been to Cuba, Mexico and so on...AC has never been loud to a point to prevent us from sleeping, till this time. Up to $90, that would have been almost acceptable, but at about $140 a night, that had to be one the the worst possible experiences in a hotel. First and last time in a Best Western.

I stayed here one night for work. The hotel is beautifully decorated. The room was large and everything was clean. The bed was very comfortable and allowed for a great sleep. WiFi connection was strong and reliable. It did not drop the signal once. I received a free breakfast coupon for the restaurant located in the hotel. Breakfast was made to order and was served hot. Absolutely an excellent experience. I hope to return with the family, as they would enjoy the pool area.

Have never stayed here so we decided to try it as my companion wanted a hotel with a pool.The room was large very nice and clean. The pool was deemed ok.Staff was pleasant. This area of Edson is in a light industrial area no green space for the dog but there is a park about a block and a half away. One negative point The hotel could donate what the are charged by the restaurant to a school lunch program for the breakfast. We both had something called French toast which had no resemblance to any frenchtoast Ive ever had or heard of. S

Stayed here en route to BC. Convenient location right off the highway, but then, pretty much everything in Edson appears to be right off the highway. Handy to shopping. Decent room but very small bathroom with minimal counter space. No bar soap offered for the shower, just a tiny bottle of liquid body wash that didn't lather well or go far enough. The wifi was slow and the desk provided only one outlet, positioned inconveniently underneath and no USB ports. There was a recycling bin in the room which we appreciated. The hotel has a restaurant and pub which appear to be subbed out to Chinese management. The menu is largely Chinese. My wife and I thought it would be convenient to stay in for supper and went to the pub, which has the same menu as the restaurant. My wife had a chef's salad which she was entirely satisfied with. I, however, ordered a shrimp Caesar which actually came with canned shrimp, not what I expected for a $15 salad. Breakfast was equally disappointing. Breakfast was included in the room rate but consisted of exactly 4 choices of the egg and pancake variety. The food was mostly fine except that my wife's hash browns were undercooked and no butter was offered for the pancakes, only margarine. I would probably stay in this hotel again, but I would eat elsewhere.

Clean, crisp linens. Quiet comfortable rooms. Had a great sleep during my trip Walking distance to a DQ, Tims, Sobeys and Shoppers drug mart. Wonderful place, reasonable prices. Never tried the pool or hot tub but I did see it getting cleaned every morning. Which is a huge bonus.

My stay in Edson was to visit family. This hotel room had recently been renovated so was clean and fresh. It was nice to relax in the hot tub at the end of the day. In the lobby I really appreciated the cookie, apple and fireplace while the truck warmed up

Full service hotel with restaurant/bar. The rooms are spacious and clean. There s great pool, hot tub, and waterslide in the middle of the complex. The fitness room is located inside the pool area, such that you have to cross the pool are to have a workout. Unfortunately because of this, the gym's hours are restricted to match the pool hours - so you can't work out before 9am, or after 10pm. The changing facilites are a little odd as well - on the mens side at least. There's a small empty area with no benches or locker, where you can change. A bit awkward. The attached Restaurant/bar is a hopping joint, with activities throughout the week, such as karaoke. A decent selection of draught and bottles are available, as well as anything else you might fancy. The food is pretty good and comes fast. The hotel is situated across from a retail complex. Hop across the parking lot to a full grocery store, shoppers drug mart, liquor store, and more. There's plenty of parking here, park your 18-wheeler with no difficulty, if that be your situation. Great value overall.

BW High Road Inn was recommended to me for an extended stay and the facility and staff measured up. Clean nice size rooms and terrific facilities the hotel proved a great place to be after a day in the field. Food and services were very good. Be advised if you're a six footer or better "yoga" will help . . . those toilets are pretty low to the ground :-)

You pay for quality, best hotel in Edson. Pool/Hot Tub and a tiny gym. Worth the stay, $148 for a double queen. Seems like they mainly have those. Had apples to eat at the front, s**t you not best apples I've ever had. Would just go back for the apples. Renovated rooms.

This hotel is top of our list. We have stayed here a number of times and the staff are always very helpful and greet us when we arrive. they know us so well that they immediately know who we are and how we like our room. We have asked for no deodorizers to be used in our room and they have complied always.

Overall the hotel and staff were really good. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Hot breakfast option with the room was great! Especially as we were in town for a sports event. It was great to feed the kids real food with out having to worry about additional cost or going to a different restaurant!

Stay was average, I had neighbors complain the TV was too loud at 8:30PM when the volume was at a normal level. I could easily hear neighbors as well, walls were not sound insulated enough. Curtains in the room I stayed in also did not close all the way and were transparent, which could allow anyone to see into the room.

Good sized room for decent price. Hotel staff kept the room immaculate. Lots of large parking out back for vehicles with trailers. Even being between the elevators, there was very little noise in the rooms. Good for business travel!!

the hotel is actually quite nice but the unfortunate part is that there is a pub attached to the hotel and the smokers spill out into the parking lot to smoke and make a lot of noise, hotel staff told us that if we had let them know they would have done something about it but what are they going to do, shut the bar down. They either need to close the pub down or shut down half of the hotel

The strong smell of detergent on the pillow woke me up. They use Gain detergent which stinks! Bring your own pillow case if you have to stay here. Just like hotels are smoke free, they should be odor free.

I stayed one night for business. Hotel room was exceptionally clean (and I'm a germ-a-phobe!) and the bed was pretty comfortable. Front reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not very good - I'd suggest skipping it and going across the parking lot The Funky Fork (SO GOOD)

Stayed here for a week for work. Hotel is very clean and really nice employees. There's a pub joined onto the hotel that has great food and drinks. Internet works great and there's a separate computer room for guess to use also. I would differently stay here next time I'm in Edson.

Can't express how the staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home , they go above and beyond what they need to do and they make a point to call you by your name which makes a person feel right at home

Stayed here in July 2017 while traveling from Jasper to Edmonton. It's about halfway and made for a good resting point. The hotel is located in the heart of the town with a Walmart, Pharmacy and a few places to eat within walking distance. There's plenty of free parking, and the area felt safe. The hotel is located directly off the main road, and has easy access in and out of town. This was my first stay at a BW, and my initial impression was positive. Checkin was easy, and the receptionist provided information about the hotel including breakfast options and the layout of the hotel. Amazingly, I was upgraded to a suite. My room was on the 4th floor (top floor). The room had a living area, and separate bedroom with a door. There wasn't much of a view, just the nearby shopping center and parking. The room was clean, quiet and the internet was fast enough to stream video/music. The room had a mini-fridge which was nice to keep the drinks cool. Each guest gets a breakfast voucher that gets you a basic meal. You can choose to upgrade for a few dollars, but the basic meal was enough to fill me up. Breakfast is served in the onsite restaurant. There is an indoor pool with a slide for the kids. I didn't use it, but the area looked clean and safe. Overall, if I were staying in Edson, I would definitely consider the BW. It met my needs of being clean, good room rates, and convenient. The staff was all friendly, and answered all my questions with a smile.

During my stay at this hotel on two occasions this month l was very impressed. # 1 I found their pricing was not inflated like they were in Hinton Alberta. just 90 km away as l had seen go from ninety-nine dollars in April to three hundred and ninety-nine dollars in August all senior rates. The hotel is clean and well maintained in all area that l used. the restaurant food is affordable along with courteous and friendly staff. note gas prices are lower than Hinton. I frequently pass through this area each year and BW Hotel EDSON will be my choice to stay at .

We made our annual Alberta trip to visit family, attend a wedding, attend to some ongoing budiness and then carry on to Saskatchewan. Our first visit was to Edson where we stayed at the Best Western. The Best Western High Road Inn is close to the highway and has lots of parking. The people at yhe front desk were very friendly and had everything resdy for us even though we were there before check in time. The room was lovely and hsd everything we needed. We had a breakfast coupon for the morning which I used. The lady who attended to me was very friendly and explained what items I could have of the menu. Overall a very good experience.

We were so exhausted from traveling from Vancouver decided to get a room here for the night.Best decision hotel very nice staff very friendly,kids loved swimming pool with slide! Also comes with hot breakfast so we are fed n well rested and ready to continue on our trip would definitely stay here again!

Staff were very friendly, and welcoming more than your average hotel. They went out of their way many times to help out, the front desk even expedited the process in getting seated at the restaurant by getting more help to clear tables.

It's not fancy, it's not flashy but it is clean, comfortable and quiet. Located on the highway, this hotel is also within walking distance to such key elements of Canada as a Tim Hortons and a Shoppers. Our room came with everything we needed including a reasonable wifi connection and a pack-and-play. What really sets this hotel apart from the other ones in town is that it comes with a pool and water slide. And while that slide doesn't look like anything too exciting, it's surprisingly fast. It's also completely dark, making it a rather fun experience. The pool itself isn't that big (especially considering the speed you can get on the slide) but it was never busy while we were there. There is also a hot tub. Our stay included a free breakfast and while that sounds great, the breakfast itself was rather disappointing. Sure, you get to choose from pancakes, French toast or eggs but everything tasted super-bland. Unless you're getting breakfast included, skip the restaurant and instead head over to the nearby Funky Fork for something that doesn't taste like it came from the freezer.

Kids loved pool and slide! Breakfast is good, internet is pretty fast. Bar and lounge and restaurant are attached. We pretty much live there for work purposes and they are very accommodating. When my wife came , she was very pleased with the service as well!

Not bad. It's in middle of town. And u get beat western points. It's cool to be close to sobey and shoppers. And then there's a built in restaurant and pub into this place. I don't know what else to write blah

The location was very reasonable for lodging prices between Jasper and Edmonton for the Best Western. Breakfast was okay, though. Sleep was very good because the mattress was perfect for the senior citizens!

We loved that the complimentary breakfast was an actual order choice at the restaurant. Not the usual buffet style offering. Also one could upgrade from the four options given. Staff was courteous, room was clean and offered all amenities needed.

Great stay at this lovely comfortable hotel - nice welcome from the front desk personnel - clean spacious rooms - good breakfast with hot and cold meals/beverages - nearby various restaurants with a variety of menues

I travel a lot for work a very good Best Western in Edson very good Internet. A very good breakfast in the morning at restaurant is included with your stay everyday. Inexpensive laundry service at the hotel as well.

Stayed here on our way from New Orleans through Canada to Alaska. Hotel was very nice, enjoyed the pool and Jacuzzi. Best breakfast out of all the Best Westerns I've stayed at so far. Really enjoyed the Florentine eggs and turkey sausage.

After a long day It was great to slip into the hot tub and do a few laps in the pool. Even if you are only there for business, remember to take your swim trunks. #relaxwhenyoucan The staff is so friendly and the breakfast was better than the stale muffins and god awful powdered eggs at those other places.

I recently stayed at the Best Western High Road Inn after moving from my usual hotel in Edson. I was very pleased with the helpful staff, the location, and the quality of room for the price. I will be switching to this hotel as my first choice when in Edson.

I stay in a lot of hotels for work and the staff at this best western are probably the friendliest. I stay frequently enough that plenty of the staff actually know me by name. The restaraunt attached has a great complentary breakfast

The hotel appears to be updating a good portion of the facility. The restaurant and bar are currently being renovated. Rooms are adequate, but compared to other Best Western hotels in DRAYTON valley, LACOMBE and Rocky Mountain house they need a lot of work. Friendly staff.

An over all very good experience. Very clean, courteous and helpful staff. Breakfast options are good but limited unless you choose to pay an additional charge. we were given another room without questions when we let them know about noise coming from outside (eavestroughs-heavy rain).

I stayed at the Best Western High Road Inn, Edson, AB on a business trip. The hotel appearance was great. The room was clean. Had issues with the wifi, but found the solution when I checked out. The front desk clerk that checked me in failed to tell me the access code to the wifi when I checked in. Now I know, that shouldn't be an issue the next time I stay there, which will be very soon. The other issue was with the a/c. I couldn't find a happy spot and the fan was only set to hi. It was kicking on and off all night, which was a bit annoying. I may have to see if this can be changed when I return. All in all, a good stay.

The hotel is very clean , the guest rooms are updated , the beds are excellent.the staff go out of there way to make you staff even better. You have many options for eating within walking distance ...

I was travelling for an event and chose this hotel for convenience, having a restaurant, pool, etc. The food in the Restaurant/Lounge was just ok, but they had several tv's to catch all of the sports. The breakfast at the smaller restaurant had complimentary options which was nice. As for the room, the bed was very comfortable, and nice to have a fridge and microwave.

Older hotel but has been renovated and updated in the past two years. Check in staff is friendly and helpful. They have coffee and fruit set up for guests in the lobby area. The hotel does not have a breakfast area but you get a coupon to the restaurant attached to the hotel for breakfast up to a value of $10.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the rooms were OK and clean enough however the room I had was cold and I was unable to adjust the heater control in the room. I was also unfortunate enough to stay the same night as an ice hockey team who seemed to spend most of the night shouting and screaming in a drunken state so not a lot of rest was had. The food was no more than just edible in the restaurant so overall it wasn't a very enjoyable stay.

We love coming to this hotel, when we are in town to visit family, They alway make use feel like their family. They will go out of there way too make sure our visit was just right. I even had all 7 of my grand kids come for a swim.

The Best Western High Road Inn is located in Edson, a town that seems to be weathering the Oil decline quite well. The majority of the guests the night we stayed seemed to be connected to the industry, and one item in the rooms made this clear. As soon as you enter the room there is a tray type boot mat by the door. The staff in all areas were helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and friendly.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Years ago, I used to stay In Edson a lot for business purposes but this Best Western didn't exist then, but I wish it did. The room was very comfortable and clean and I had no problems with the internet. The staff were also very friendly and made the experience very worthwhile. I really enjoyed the breakfast in the adjoining restaurant and this is one hotel that I will definitely stay at the next time I'm in the area.

Here for one night. Friendly desk staff very quiet place. Being renovated but still a nice stay. The free breakfast was good. Got a free upgrade to a mini suite, sort of a strange tv viewing area. Overall a pleasant stay.

Pillows and beds are too soft. Room keys do not work. I'm glad it's pet friendly. It comes with complimentary breakfast; however, the breakfast is not a buffet style and you can only order one of the four breakfast items on a menu at the attached Chinese restaurant.

The Best Western Hotel in Edson was reasonably affordable since the similar hotels in Jasper and Valmount, B.C. were costly due to high season. We stayed there overnight with much satisfaction. Breakfast was great.

Just attended wedding in Hinton so booked family here for night on way to Calgary. Big mistake! Should have driven straight through like my wife suggested. Baseball group here for weekend. Lots of loud noise, drunk people in hallway. Police circling hotel in evening. Didn't feel safe. Woke up 1am to guitar playing and people talking, went to front desk, who got security, but became loud again. Missed morning appt. Other families complained at check out too but agent didn't seem interested. Breakfast was only redeeming factor.

For a number of reasons, I had grown concerned about our visit to this BW in Edson. We'd visited with an Albertan during our traverse of Canadian Rocky national parks who had said "Edson, What's there?" indicating that Edson was a rough oil town. And we'd noted at the time that we reserved that this BW was not a designated a BW Plus. And when we arrived right after a big t-storm, the parking area was filled with puddles and even mud from oil workers' trucks. Well everything has been splendid. The rooms and common areas were clean and fresh. The attached restaurant served a great breakfast. We're going swimming now in a pool big enough to do laps. The desk granted us a late checkout at no extra charge. Good place. We'd stay again.

Friendly desk staff. The indoor pool has a neat looking water slide and several kids of hotel guests were having lots of fun on it. Our room had a nice table/desk so we sat our laptop on it and tried to plug it in, but there was no outlet nearby. We moved the table across the room to access an extension cord which was being used to power a bedside table lamp and clock. Outlets in lamp bases would be a big help. Loved the cooked to order breakfast served in the restaurant attached to the hotel. Eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, hash browns, etc. etc. were available at no charge to hotel guests. Would stay here again.

It was very quiet, you could not hear other rooms. I think they insulated or sound proofed the walls. The continental breakfast is in a restaurant with lots of choices. You can pay if you want to get bigger portions.

Pretty decent establishment - evening server was very friendly and helpful in the pub. Front desk was very helpful wit good suggestion as to where to find what was needed locally. Floor I was on was partially being updated - have to give the hotel credit - they are doing something in a positive sense. Room was clean and like a lot of places - lacking in electrical outlets in a convenient spot. Maybe after the work is done this will be improved. Breakfast was okay - at first was a little put off by the attitude of the server (that was two - one of a slightly larger built - not so happy). All in all a great stay. Guess she a had bad start to the day - guess she should have calm down before coming in to be on duty.

The staff at this location were the highlight. Very helpful and caring, and even remembered things we spoke about the previous day and inquired about it. Had a small issue of a repair that was not completed in our room when we checked in, but they quickly (and apologetically) took care of it immediately. I will definitely be staying there again.

Great place to stay - centrally located, very clean and spacious rooms. Staff were wonderful - very friendly and helpful. Nice to have a refrigerator, coffee maker and a microwave. Lots of outdoor parking. My stay included a choice of hot breakfast which was a nice perk.

We stayed at the High Road Inn while visiting family in Edson. The hotel is a very nice place, it's clean and comfortable with nice sized rooms. The check in was fast and friendly. The rate includes a full, served breakfast that has several choices from the menu. Breakfast was very good. The pool is awesome, with a large pool, water slide and a nice sized hot tub. We enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends.

Very good Hotel. I've stayed here 4 times in total and always had good experience staying here. The rooms are clean and consistently well kept the times I've stayed. Staff is friendly. Apples available at the front lobby are a nice touch and a value add. Included breakfast is also nice; Bacon/Eggs/ toast/Juice/Coffee are part of the menu and items are waitress served.

We had such a great time in November, our hockey team stayed again. No issues with a large group of teenage boys that you wouldn't expect, and even less trouble. This helped the parents enjoy their time. Meeting room provided was a great area for everyone to watch the hockey game together after pizza. Thanks to the cleaning staff for the extra effort in the pool area because it was well used along with the hot tub. Restaurant food & staff were awesome.

First time staying in Edson and I'm glad I chose the Best western ..it had a local pub and restaurant attatched to it...so didn't have to go outside at all except for the reasons I was there...the room was excellent ....food was really good with western cuisine and Chinese food aavailable...the staff were very friendly...the only negative I felt there was was the pool and hottub...great facility but water was freezing cold in the pool and hot tub wasn't that hot but I imagine they have to accomadate so many different levels of.....happiness..lol but all in all it was a great experience and stay at this hotel.

Stayed in room 410 on our way & stayed in room 406 on our way back. Liked room 406 better as it was warmer & had a table to sit at. Easy low bath tub also. First time we have stayed here. Great location! Normally stay at another hotel but found this place very clean & comfortable. Women at front desk were quite abrupt. Not letting you get in the door before they are yelling; can I help you? But all was good. Have a lounge if you want a drink, a chinese restaurant or pub food available. There is also a quaint healthy restaurant in front of hotel parking lot called The Funky Fork. Small strip mall close. Hotel has great beds, but small pillows. Hot tub was closed & has small pool. Free parking & Wi-Fi. Elevator to fourth floor. No key needed in elevator. So no security. Used air miles so only cost around 23.00 both ways.

The rooms were clean and beds were OK, I found my room was very noisy due to the parking lot outside and the heavy equipment Went down for breakfast the following morning with voucher, waitress served me coffee relatively quickly (one time only), but after seeing the voucher she seemed to disappear into a different dimension! I waited patiently for roughly 40 minutes and the server never even attempted to come back to my table and take my order. I could understand this if the restaurant was busy, but it was almost empty. I finally left, very p***ed off and hungry. I told the restaurant staff & the front desk attendant that I wasn't impressed. My advice! buy a tent and a heater for the night, it will be cheaper. Definitely no value for your dollar!

My title says it all, this is like a Home Away from Home for me. The staff all recognize me, and when I walk through the door the desk clerks are pulling my registration papers without asking my name or anything. The staff are all pleasant and friendly, it literally feels like home. The beds are great, no sore back in the morning, love it.

Beds were comfy and room was clean. We stayed in a "suite" - with a stained leather sofa and not much else. Livingroom area was extremely small. The worst part was the staff at the front desk. Wow....she needs a serious attitude adjustment!!!! We asked for our breakfast vouchers and she told us to go get them from our room! We told her we weren't given any and she told us, very rudely, almost yelling, that she NEVER forgets to put them in the card envelopes. We told her that she didn't check us in, that another girl did. Ultimately, we got the vouchers after a fight. Totally ridiculous. Why should we have to fight for what we paid for?!?!?! The vouchers are for the hotel restaurant - rude staff there too, though one of the girls was great. Food was fine. No frills. I also agree with a previous poster - our suitcase was rummaged while we were out. Found it interesting that the cleaning staff asked us, "Are you leaving for a while?" when we left. I've been asked before if a staff could clean our room but never been asked if we would be gone for a while to come back to a rumpled suitcase. We left no valuables behind so nothing taken. Hot tub was out of order. No work done on it that we saw nor was there any attempt to apologize or compensate us, other than a note on the pool door.

The beds here are great, the exercise room is good too. Breakfast is okay, but waitresses are unpleasant. Food at the pub is gross. The worst part of this hotel is the staff. One cleaning lady (who seemed like she had a disorder or some kind) harassed our dog. On one day when we went out for lunch our bags were clearly rummaged through. Several of the front desk women were very rude especially one old lady with shorter grey hair who always seemed to want to have altercations with guests. The two staff mentioned here should be fired. They try to rip people off with charges and room rates so make sure to check your bill and credit card statement after checkout.

A typical Best Western new hotel, all facilities and services good but bland and unmemorable . Clean, comfortable and functional and at an average price for this kind of mass franchise chain. 2 double beds per room TV wifi good bathroom , fairly quiet considering it ok just off transCanafa 16 and in an industrial area. Ugly surroundings but town an easy walk away.

Ill summarize my rant: -outdated rooms with few outlets and old appliances -noisy -smells smoky even in non smoking rooms ..and last but certainly not least.. -WIFI IS ATROCIOUS..dont even think of hooking up your facebook machine or trying to watch netflix. If youre like me and rely on the internet for work/entertainment then I suggest staying anywhere else.
