"Worst stay ever!!!!"

The hotel was not clean, the bed was very, very uncomfortable, there were flies flying around the front desk and lobby so we didn't eat breakfast there. We asked for a non smoking room but the whole hotel smelled of cigarette smoke. I put my things down on two of the tables in the room and they were sticky.... so were the arm rests on the chairs. They were very cheap with the towels and when we requested 2 additional towels PLEASE be brought up we were told to come down and get them.... when we went down there was no one at the desk. And for a room with 2 people there was only 1 TINY bottle of shampoo..... I LOVE Best Western, wherever we go we always stay in a BW but this one was gross!! Oh yeah and the overall area was no better!!

At first everything seemed to be great.. front desk lady named Tracy was friendly but ditzy acting. SHE booked us a room for 2 nights but the next morning we were told to leave because we never got a second night. SHE over booked many of the people there that night and many were unhappy that they were told to leave early!!! Left unhappy!!

I came in and the sheets were ripped, everything was damp. Everything smelled musty, and I couldn't bear the smell. There is a microwave and fridge.Bring your own blankets. Not very high quality and would not recommend.

i stayed at this hotel over the Memorial Day holiday. The lobby was very clean and the gentleman at the front desk explained the rewards program and even checked to see if I had previously been a member. The room was very clean, sheets, towels in great shape. I loved the fact that you were unable to enter the hotel from the doors around the back of the building unless you had a room key. That made me feel very safe during my stay. I will book this hotel again.

It's your average slightly aging motel. It was clean enough. The location was very close to Dover Air Force Base. The breakfast was pretty good. They had a nice selection. The halls felt dirty but the room was ok-ish. That is all.

Clean and comfortable. Rooms have been updated. Breakfast good. Friendly and accomodating staff. Parking lot well lit. Easy access to major highway. Located near Dover AFB. Would stay again and recommend.

I visited during the end of the weekend and it was really quiet. Staff was polite. I had no problems when I stayed. I would stay again. Quite nice for the price. I like the restaurant close to it too. Great recommendation!

"Only in emergency"

Old, run down property. I had to stay in a smoking room as no other room available and all my clothes smelled like smoke on checkout. Would never stay here if I had a choice. Many different options available within 10 miles. I booked last minute for a local soccer tournament.

Cute little hotel. I love their breakfast every day. Staff is always nice and upbeat. I like that the hotel is just on the outskirts of town but close enough to eat out or order in or even go shopping. Nice visit.

Always a pleasure and greeted with a smile! Very clean rooms and breakfast was way better than any of the other breakfasts I have had at other motels while traveling or just getting away. Internet service, Television, everything worked very nice as always, honestly I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Dover ,Delaware.

We sometimes like to go places and explore our country. The first thing we thought of is to go to the state capital of the first state, Delaware. The Best Western hotel offers reasonable rates with the best location and best amenities. We had a great time there.

Excellent place and convenient location. Fast easy check in. Comfortable room. Shower needs work but ok. Breakfast was 50/50 Sausage was good, but eggs were watery crumbles. Change the eggs and it's a winner

"Great quality"

Hotel offers a very clean, comfortable & quiet stay. The halls and common areas were just a bit cooler than the room, but not uncomfortably so. Drawbacks/downsides were minimal, a vending machine wouldn't take dollar bills and the front desk, although they knew of this would not give quarters for the machine. The TV channel line up showed that they had STARZ network, but it was not there.

This is the worse bw I've ever stayed at. It's very out dated. It truly needs a do over. The hot water fluctuates and half goes down the drain. The hot water don't stay hot. The rooms need to at least be cleaned a lot better.

I wouldn't argue this is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at, but for the price, location, and value it is definitely among the best. It is consistent, fair, clean, and reliable. I would recommend this to anyone with a need to stay in or near Dover who isn't determined to spend all their time in a casino.

Beware... Hotel is in a ghetto. Blood stains on wall, refrigerator was not working also no working television remote. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was good. There's some sort of housing project directly behind hotel and eyewitness open air drug sales

Friendly people,awesome comfortable room, great breakfast, check in went well, bed was very nice and room was immaculate. The work out room was very nice as well and the internet worked well for my use. The breakfast was very tasty, really enjoyed of all things the pancake machine. I have never in my life seen that before, and the sausage was Hormel, had to ask, it was delicious! As were the eggs and potatoes. Honestly all around nice stay, will get the opportunity again soon i hope!

My friend and I had entered our dogs in an Agility trail. This was a very important trail for placement. Even with other dogs in the hotel, there wasn't any sound of barking in our room. It was an enjoyable stay.

"Worst Eastern"

We stayed here this past weekend for the marathon and were glad it was only for one night. The first room we were given smelled smoky, so we asked to change to another room. My brother's room was musty and the people next door played loud music all night long. The property is currently undergoing renovations and is "a work in progress". The breakfast was the best part, with a variety of items offered. The breakfast attendant had her hands full to begin with and then she had to take care of the front desk too, which is way too much for one person to do. She did her best and was probably entertained by my nephew. I think this hotel will be better once the renovations are completed. I just wish that guests would have enough sense not to smoke in the non-smoking rooms and play loud music past midnight.

Short overnight stay. Good location. Check in and out were both quick and efficient. Rooms could use some upgrading. Usually this type of hotel is a little nicer. Wifi worked ok. Probably would not stay here again.

I've never been a picky person but this hotel was by far thee worst me and my family stayed in.There are bed bugs nats everywhere and flies from the room that I stayed in to the dining area which was by far the worst. Bathroom was not the cleanest I had to clean it myself just to shower. I was eaten alive by the bugs in the bed and the same exact experience in my brothers room as well .never again in my life will I stay there or recommend anyone to do the same just horrible

Let me apologize for not meeting your expectations. The lack of cleanliness you experienced is unusual for our housekeeping staff that prides themselves in giving the customers the cleanest rooms available. The flies are a on going fight with the river next to us especially this time of year. We do utilizes Orkin who check and treat our rooms monthly. It may also be do to the ongoing renovations and multiple contractor in and out. If you decide to give us another chance feel free to call me personally for any assistance.

"Smelly, Dirty & Outdated"

Customer service was friendly! For some reason there was no vacancy to change rooms or go somewhere else. The smell of old cigarette smoke when entering the room was awful, we brewed coffee just to help mask the smell! Wallpaper was peeling off the at the seems near the ceiling, the carpet was dirty, a red stain was smeared across the floor, my husband and I joked about foul play! The jetted tub had an odd patch in it and it took at least 30 minutes to fill and one of the jets was broken because when I turned it on to check if it worked it soaked me, shooting out onto the floor and walls of the bathroom! And the shower head pipe was loose and not attached inside the wall.

I expected a cozy night after almost 4 hour drive from Virginia Beach but my expectations turn into a nightmare once i entered my room.The room smells like an insect spray and the toilet bowl is stinky. I paid almost a $100 for one night but its not worth it. Never again will I step in to this place.

"Trip to Dover"

Hotel is close to Dover AFB. Not very far from other attractions in the area. We stayed during Nascar Race weekend. I was surprised to find a place to stay at a reasonable rate. The Hotel was going thru renovations but this did not impact us at all. The room was clean and comfortable. Daily maid service and the breakfast was better than most. I would stay again.

"The only place I stay"

This is the only hotel I stay at while visiting Dover, DE. It's quite a baby for your buck. It's in not in the noisy part of town but not in an inconvenient place either. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I'd recommend this place to a friend. Not bad pricing either.

"Disappointed in such an old/dirty hotel"

After booking this hotel, with no other option for race weekend, I didn't know what to expect. Reading the reviews before getting there, I began to worry that we were going to stay in an old dirty hotel. As I arrived into the lobby there was a black and white movie playing, old leather couches, and fans that looked like they might just fall off the ceiling. Walking down to my room felt as if we were walking in a dorm hall, I didn't know what to expect with the room. Once I was in the room, I realized that there were few convenient outlets that worked, holes in the sheets, a weird smell in the room, dirty stained shower curtain and walls, somebody else's hair stuck to some towels, a shower that looked like it would break at any moment and more. This hotel is old and it seems like the owners/company don't care about spending just a little to fix simple things. If you cared about your guests, at least seem to try to fix up the place, like just go to Walmart and get new clean shower curtains.

"Poor conditions"

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Room had a musty moldy odor. Carpet was very old so it looked like it wasnt vacuumed even tho it was. Jetted tub didnt work which is reason why i stayed in that room in the first place. Continental breakfast was terrible.

As you can see we are doing some renovations to the building and we have plans for the hotel that we hope you will come back and see soon. I had maintenance check both jetted tubs and they seem to be working fine. I am not sure which one you were in so we could do further investigation. As for the breakfast I am not sure what was missing or not up to standard. We try to offer more hen the traditional continental breakfast by adding the sausage, eggs, potatoes, and pancakes. It is through guest feedback that we have added the yogurt toppings, flavored creamers, sugar free syrup, and gluten free cereals. So you see, if you offer a little more feedback we will do what we can o add your suggestions to the breakfast bar.

Traveling here by motorcycle for a short trip around Delmarva, found this hotel to be a great value for the stay. Not the best of accommodations, but was really just looking for a place to rest my head for 7 hours. Fit the bill just fine.

1st the Room only have 2 available outlet total on a desk that goes to a lamp. 2nd they were working on The sidewalk by the outside of the door think into the building and I had to park and walk all the way up the building inside the building than all the way back down after the staff and told me rocket park at the end of the law to walk rabia. The Room is also dingy and needs to be updated with it colors. I found the staff to be unfriendly. And the message light will not stop Flash at all my phone. I know it's a lot of little things but it's just a lot of frustrations.

WE do have a lamp with outlets on it on the desk for your convenience. There are also outlets on both sides of the bed and near the desk. I apologize for any inconvenience the renovations caused. Hotel had signs saying they were being remodeled, they really need it because it was very run down but it was also very dirty. House keeping was not doing a great job and the non smoking room smelled of smoke.

Were in area for business, reservations were made only a couple of days before. Room was clean, staff were pleasant, near to shopping, restaurants and right down the road from air force base. It was a raining nights so we really didn't explore the area.

Awful odor through out hotel. They are remodeling. General disrepair. Overpriced for the condition of the hotel.. the walls need work. Not enough outlets. Plastic bag over windows. The bed was fine but the wrinkles on the sheet made me wonder if they had changed the sheets. Dimly lit. Poor service from the night clerk.

"Mediocre Western at Best!"

Checked-in late (after 10:30pm) since we were coming from Lancaster, PA and wanted to be there early the next morning for Thunder Over Dover at the AFB. The man at the front desk took my ID and never asked for my credit card and then handed me 2 keys for the room and told me the room number and then went back to doing what he was doing before I walked in (talking on his cell phone). He never told me where to park or enter so after circling the parking lot twice we finally found a parking spot that seemed like it was close to a entrance. We were on the second floor and we couldn't seem to find the elevator which we then learned that they do not have one! If I would have know this I would have booked else where. Once we go to the room which was average to say the least. 2 queen beds, table with 2 chairs (one really, the second chair was in dire need of being replace), TV, wardrobe, microwave and refrigerator. In the bathroom there is a pedestal sink (?) and a very, very, low toilet. In the shower there were EMPTY body wash and shampoo containers which were never filled. Breakfast was served in room that maybe had 6 tables and a folding table. The OJ was out both morning along with the pancake mix for the pancake maker. Over all if you are looking for a side of the highway place to lay your head without any fills then this is the place for you to stay. They are also currently doing some cosmetic renovations to the outside of the building. We did not use the outdoor pool so I can not say anything about that.

"Served the Purpose"

The stay at the hotel was ok. The main point was that it was close to our destination. The receptionist at the front desk looked sloppy with a terribly wrinkled shirt, but was polite and friendly, and gave good directions to our room. The room was a bit cramped and the beds were a tad hard, but it was clean and smelled acceptable. I loved that it had a decent size small refrigerator. The food at breakfast was ok, although the eggs tasted like they were either reconstituted powdered eggs or from a carton. It was nice to have fresh fruit. The potatoes were alright. I didn't try the fresh made pancakes. Overall the experience was ok.

With the exception of the ROCK HARD beds in my room, the weekend was enjoyed, the staff was very knowledgeable when it came to my immediate needs and the accommodations around the area were close at hand. If ever a room is needed which special needs close to Dover AFB, then this hotel is the right one, the gates to the base are right down the road. Great stay.

Close location to The Air Mobility Command Museum! and Ocean City, Maryland. Hotel was easy to find using my GPS. Did not have a chance to use the onsite pool! It did look nice. The staff was nice and very professional!

My family and I had a nice stay at the best western. The rooms were clean the service was excellent and the housekeeping was nice and polite... The pool was nice and refreshing and breakfast was on point .

This hotel allows smoking good for the smokers. However Poor customer service, they don't give you wifi information,breakfast hours etc.. beds are VERY uncomfortable this is not a 2 1/2 star hotel more like a 2 star they don't even offer toothpaste etc.. Disappointed. After a long drive now I must run out to the store. Never again for over $100 dollars a night not worth it!!

While we do offer a few smoking rooms, the hotel is primarily non smoking. I do apologize if the room you were in smelled like smoke. While we ask our guest to not smoke In the non smoking rooms, not everyone is considerate of the next guest. I want to apologize about the toothpaste. We have it on order and the company we use has it on back order. I know this does not make the fact you had to go out and purchase some any better. But we really are sorry for the inconvenience. I hope you will consider giving us another try on your next visit to the Dover area.

Hotel was as expected. Quiet comfortable. We had a slight problem with the jetted tub. Hotel manager was very understanding and made a monetary adjustment on bill because we paid extra for the room with that tub.

Although breakfast was surprisingly good and fresh, it could not make up for the bad night. The hotel is extremely humid and smells terrible. I had to ask for extra sheets because ours did not feel fresh. The worst was the carpet that made everything black with dirt. We used the 'dirty' sheets on the floors just to walk between bed and bathroom. For that price would rather stay in cleaner hotel with no breakfast and go to Ihop than do our own sheets and cleaning after a long travel!

Everything smelled of cigarette smoke (in my room) the bed linens the curtains the chairs even though I was in a "non-smoking" room, the smell of smoke was in everything including the hall. Everything was clean, the staff were polite and accomodating.

Clean room and comfortable bed. nice breakfast. air conditioner was a little noisy. plenty of parking and a nice pool with a handful of sunbeds and chairs though no shaded areas or umbrellas. lots of places to eat nearby. very efficient self service laundry facility.

Breakfast was horrible, toilet was pre clogged, never worked right. There's better hotels in the area. Items in the room didn't work. Glad I only slept there, never tried the pool. Just seriously stay somewhere else.

"Not up to Best Western Standards"

We booked two rooms for one night. The pool was great on a hot night. The air conditioner was loud like and airplane when it kicked on. Biggest problem was trying to check out. No one at the desk, rang bell several times. I found out that there was one employee. She was cooking breakfast and manning the desk. Impossible task for one person; she was doing the best she could. Will stay somewhere else next time.

As I said prior the shower heads were bad, AC needes fixed, tv volume was bad, eating area way to small and some food was stale and under or over done. eating area needs to be bigger and food was 2/5. STaff was very nice and friendly.

"Stayed for Firefly Festival 2017"

This was the only hotel we could find for Firefly weekend so we were a little worried as to why they were still available. Overall, the hotel wasn't bad, just definitely needs some updating. The staff was accomodating and the rooms were clean. The continental breakfast wasn't great but not the worst either. Sausage, eggs, potatoes were good but most of the bread items including the cereal were stale(ish). Outdoor pool was ok and there was lounge chairs and tables set up to hang out at. They were in the middle of doing some renovations so there was workers and boxes everywhere but maybe thats a good thing. I'll probably try another hotel next time but I'd stay here again if need be. They also gave us a Wifi code but we could never connect to it so just used our data which was slow for some reason.

Needed a place to stay in Dover. Convenient location near Route 1. Small pool but refreshing in the summer heat. Breakfast is in included and lots of options to choose from. Overall it is a really good value. Would stay here again when coming back to Dover.

Overbooked and staff wasn't helpful to resolve issue. It took over five phone calls to fix problem. Many people got involved and continued to get a run a round response. Not a very clean hotel and not updated.

All the staff seem to go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable even if it not their exact job they make sure your well taken care of and that you every need is addresses from extra towels to a good place to eat.

"Great value, hotel is being updated "

After reading some of the more recent reviews, decided to give this a shot, and glad we did! We booked way in advance for NASCAR race weekend at a low rate and It was a great value. Asked to see room prior to checking in and Jeff was very accommodating. Room (109) had obviously been updated recently and turned out to be fine. Bed was comfy, everything worked, room was clean. Only had shampoo dispenser in shower and one bar of soap, but wasn't a problem for us since we bring own amenities with us. Going back again in the fall and will request room on non-highway side as it was a little noisy (but not awful). Coffee was decent, didn't eat breakfast but looked like standard hotel breakfast fare. No complaints here, recommend for an economical, comfortable stay.

Jeff at the front desk was awesome. Check in and check out were great as well as food places to eat. Hotel does need renovations: no elevator, loud A/C wall unit and fridge froze my food and microwave had a hard time heating said food. Close to Dover Downs Hotel and Dover International Raceway

there is a strong nasty smell in the room, it's supposed to be a non smoking room. I have to used my car air freshener and packets of coffee. The upholstery of the chairs at the breakfast area are so dirty.

A nice clean oasis with a pool right next to Dover Airforce place. Convenient and very reasonable prices for the area. My choice of place to stay in Dover. Breakfast was great in the Best Western tradition and internet works to keep work going.

I'll come back. Simple, quick, nice and clean. Everything was great. Coming back soon. Internet was a little slow but everything else was good. Everytime I came back to my room, it was clean and the bed was made with a fresh towels in the bathroom.

This hotel is awful. It looks like a crack den. Shady people walking around the parking lot. Broken down cars afoot. The water was a trickle, so a shower took forever. The window didn't shut correctly (1st floor) and the heat/AC was iffy. BAD BAD BAD.

I stayed at this site before, it's not bad place to stay. A little far from casino, but the prices isn't bad. Breakfast is ok, could me get little more selection, but they have gotten better over last couple years

My hotel room was robbed and no one did anything about it.this was the worst place ever the staff was lazy when I asked for extra pillows and blankets they said come down and get it my room was disgusting with cobwebs ,stains on lampshades pillows the size of a couch pillow and hard as a rock heater didn't produce heat just blew air and it was so loud you couldn't sleep plus the hallway smelled so bad from pot I have asthma and couldn't stand it.called corporate office and they said sorry nothing we can do .save your money and go somewhere else this place isn't fit for humans.

"one nite getaway"

My husband and I were on a one nite getaway and decided to go to Delaware for the night. Stayed at this hotel and had a great stay. Easy access to all attractions. Will visit again.Staff was very helpful and check in went smoothly. We usually try to stay at BW hotels when we travel and haven't had a bad experience yet.They have a great rewards system in which we used a voucher for this trip. Had no problems at all.

Hotel was easy to find although it was off the highway. Clean rooms. A king bed, small table with 2 chairs, fridge, microwave and flat screen TV. Breakfast was included. Although powdered eggs, boiled potatoes and not too crisp sausage. The rest of breakfast was usual, coffee, juice, bagels, etc. They did have something I did not see before, and automatic pancake maker. Pancakes were not bad. The hotel also had the sink in the bathroom. I prefer this than the sink in the hallway. But it meant no counter space for toiletries. I also liked the breakfast area being right inside near our room. No walking outside. No lounge area. An outdoor pool. An indoor gym.

We stayed at Best Western for a Nascar Race last weekend. These folks are fantastic. We asked for extra towels, extra pillows etc and they NEVER complained and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The place has great breakfast for free. Its very close to other amenities in Dover and we wi return again for the race next year.

OK visit. In the parking lot of a strip mall, so couple of places to eat and a grocery store, which helps. Decent stay, AC could have been cooler, and parking was a little tight, but would probably return. Next to freeway, so pretty loud.

The front desk staff was very professional, friendly, and provided me the information I requested. The breakfast was so good, delicious, and the breakfast room was clean. The wait-up call was on time and with courtesy. The check-out was so easily and quickly. Definitely, I will visit this hotel again and recommend it to my friends.

First impressions are everything. We arrived after dark and there wasn't a single outside light on. If we hadn't already booked and paid we would have driven across the road to the competition. The room was ok. The corridors had a strong funky smell. The sheet on the bed was stained and had dirty marks from the previous occupant. The front desk was happy to replace the sheet, but I had to go get it and put it on myself, not what I expected. Breakfast is served 6-10. We got to the breakfast room at 9am. They were out of hot food, out of plates, and no staff member to be found. Fortunately McDonald's is next door. Overall the cleanliness and customer service level was what I'd expect at a $45 a night motel. I expected a lot better at $113 a night! First time I'd stayed at a Best Western in America, and the last too.

We went there for one night and: -The wifi was not working -The breakfast was poor (with zero healthy options like fruits or yogurts) -This is a "smoke-free" hotel but you can smell people smoking all over the hallways and from your room. This was really disgusting. -Cleanliness: The bathroom tiles were dirty, the rest of the room looked clean. -Staff: Apathetic I would rather to not come back.

Couldn't locate the hotel in the evening because the front was not lit. Check-in was extremely slow. Staff appeared that she would rather be somewhere else. Only two bath towels for a room with four occupancy. Walk-ways to second floor smelled. Hall-ways also smelled and very dark. Breakfast was really small.

I was heading north from the Carolinas to New England and stopped at this Best Western out of sheer fatigue only. The room was fine, everything very average. I used to like to stay at BW for their included breakfasts but food in a bag is not much more appealing than fast-food.

The place is old, never updated, poor lighting. I didn't even feel comfortable getting a shower because of the condition of the tub. The front desk and the maintainance man that I got into a conversation were both nice. The housekeeper left our door open with our belongings inside. She left the door ajar with the security latch keeping the door from closing. She was not even in the hallway or in site yet our door was open. This is a big issue in itself but even bigger because I read reviews after I checked out that at least 2 clients had a problem with theft in the hotel. I usually stay at Best Western Plus hotels only on occasion do I stay at a regular Best Western. I couldn't find a Plus in the area we were staying so I settled for the B.W. Galaxy. I wanted to use my travel cards from best western before they expired, so I stayed there one night. The cost was $95. After we left I went across the street to the Microtel and so wished we had stayed there. It was so very nice, clean and excellent staff and only $65 a night.

All employee of the hotel are friendly. The guest room is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. There are plenty of food items available for breakfast. The location of hotel is excellent. There are several restaurants nearby within walking distance. The beautiful beaches are easy to access. There are lot of historic places, museums and beautiful state parks for visiting.

The staff was so warm and friendly. The continental breakfast was healthy with many options. They also had a pancake maker which was really cool. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with fast wifi! Everything was also at a great price. I highly recommend it!

I had arrived at the hotel late- around 2am. The manager at the front desk was extremely charming and kind. She gave me all the information I needed to know with a friendly demeanor. She offered a wake-up call and the next morning I received one. She also offered a late check-out due to the fact that we had arrived so late at night. The room-keeping service was also very respectful of this late check out. Overall, very clean and kind environment. Staff was extremely nice. Beds, sheets, and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the amenities worked well. The shower had good water pressure and had a range of temperatures; it was not finicky at all. Breakfast was great. Even though we arrived to breakfast 10minutes before the ending time, there was plenty of hot food. No one bothered us when we stayed at breakfast after closing time.

housekeeping was terrible - never replaced the towels, never made the beds - it was almost as if they never visited once. By the fourth day, we were using bedsheets to dry ourselves because they never gave us new towels. Breakfast was subpar. When we made the reservation, the front desk promised us that there were airport shuttles and shuttles to the Firefly music festival, but no such shuttle existed and even just the public transportation buses required almost a mile of walking to get to, so we ended up taking cabs everywhere. Would not have chosen this hotel if we knew this would be the case.

Stayed at this location again for Firefly. I think it's a great spot away from the big crowd and traffic of the festival. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was the perfect fill up for spending the day in the sun. The beds and pillows are comfortable, much needed after a long day.

Worst BW we have stayed in. Dirty stairway, doors, room. No counter space in bathroom, fortunately soap was provided but no shampoo etc. Consolation was that at least the sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. We were glad this was a one night stay and we were happy to leave. Also overpriced for all this.

Hotel meets the needs of the traveler for overnight or an extended stays. There are enough amenities for a comfortable stay at reasonable price. On negative note the room we were in faced the highway and road noise was annoying.

If you are a noisy, barking dog, you will be delighted with the amenities and the constant action as humans move away from your cozy room. Barking at every noise is lots of fun. My neighbor asked to be moved. She was upset because she was given a new room after she had settled in and nobody at the hotel helped her move. She then passed by my room again to complain that the new room had insufficient air conditioning. All her fault, because the room next to me had a great A/C. Apparently the front desk "fixed" it, but the big human complained the next morning that the fix only worked for a while. This dissatisfied human said the wi-fi was spotty and the doors to the outside didn't work properly with the room key. She seemed to like the breakfast because she was there a while eating scrambled eggs and potatoes and drinking orange juice. I'm not really sure why the human didn't like the place, because I found the BW delightful and barked my pleasure quite often.

Poor ac unit could not keep up with the the heat in room 226 (for some reason it was hotter in the room than outside and I'm not trying to be funny). Very low water presser. Friendly staff. I might have seen a hooker in the lobby, hard to say these days.

This hotel had the quietest rooms I have ever stayed in. To test it, I turned the TV up too loud and went into the hall. A step or two to either side of the door and the sound was gone. Great place to get undisturbed rest. Great hot breakfast too.

We were looking for a reasonable price on an overnight stay in Dover that was a good location for visiting the numerous wildlife attractions in the area. The Best Western was centrally located for this. Accomodations were above average for the price we paid. Staff was pleasant and the bed was excellent. The internet was a bit ragged but adequate. The breakfast was enough to keep us from going to MacDonalds

"Aweful experience"

The hotel is old, dirty and staff is not friendly. Beds are very hard. I asked before check in if the beds were soft and was told yes. After I went to the room I came back down and told the desk I could not sleep on a hard bed they refused to refund my money. I paid 99.00 for 2 1/2 hours. Stay clear.

I am sorry you feel as though we were unfair. As I explained when we spoke, asking a clerk if the beds are soft was kind of an unfair question. Everyone has a different view on this. I think we just have to agree to disagree and again I apologize. I hope you have a wonderful summer.

This hotel is located conveniently to Dover. It is an older property but very clean, the rooms are well insulated so it is quiet, and the staff is VERY friendly. It has a fitness room, a pool, and free Wi Fi.

But after leaving the reception area, I just felt the hotel was not well kept. There was a discarded washcloth in the hall and some discarded paper, some of the wallpaper showed glue at the seams, and our faucet's drain plug was broken. I just got the feeling the cleaning staff didn't inform the management of the room's needs or management didn't care.

I'm really sorry and embarrassed that you felt lie the hotel staff and management does not care. We care very much. I am not sure what room you were in, but I have asked housekeeping and maintenance to find that plug and replace it. I have also passed your concerns about the general feel of the hotel on to the owners of the hotel. We will work together to make sure things are taken care of, I do appreciate your honesty and input. I hope you will give us another try in the near future.

This is a pretty good place to spend the night. Check in and out is fast and east. Staff is friendly enough. Room was clean and had what you needed for your stay. The bathroom needs to be lit a little better, the shower area is kind of dim. We had a room on the road side of the hotel and the cars are quite noisy. Sounded like motorcycle races a couple of times. A few places to eat are close by. I would stay here again.

I can also give you some recommendations for restaurants near by that are locally owned and use local farms and breweries. Restaurant 55 is one. You can find them on line. They are a local favorite!

Friendly, clean and comfortable hotel. For the price I don't think you will get a better deal in the Dover area. Many excellent restaurants are a short walking distance. Also running/walking trails are nearby.

This is a great place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, good breakfast, great value. The rooms are comfortable. It's a place I'd recommend to anyone. Out of all the places in Dover, DE I've stayed while on my trip this is by far the best for price.

I'm so glad I found this place...I'll be staying again. In fact, I stayed for the 2nd time on my return trip. It's right off the 1. I often stop in Dover but this is the best value I've found (I got an AAA or AARP discount here, I forget which, so it was a great deal)...very nice rooms, very clean, comfortable beds, quiet, and I love that they have a laundry...I always seem to have something on the outbound trip that didn't get washed before I left...and since I don't have a washer/dryer in my apartment, I am developing the habit of washing all my travel clothing at my last stop before returning home. This place only has one coin operated washer and dryer, but so far I've never had to fight for it! They have a pretty big buffet for breakfast that would satisfy most people (although none of it is on my specialized diet so I can't report on taste!) I've interacted with several folks at the front desk and without exception they were delightful. Looking forward to coming back! (And it's very close to a Wawa for cheap gas!)

The rooms are clean. The stay was pleasant. The staff was helpful. Breakfast -- Sausage was pork, would have preferred turkey. Did not like the powder eggs for breakfast. The coffee was good and my family liked the cereal. I would stay there again. The price was right .

I went to get away for the weekend. It was clean, decent, no bugs, no previous smoker in the room, and hot water for a shower. There was a small fridge and microwave. I did not use either but glad they were there in case I needed them. It was a very good value for the money.

Every employee was quite friendly and had quality, efficient service. I enjoyed the free wi-fi and the continental breakfast was delicious. Free parking and located in a quiet area. I'm glad there was a great Italian restaurant nearby. I look forward to staying here again.

We were traveling home from NYC and our car broke down late on a Sunday so we stayed overnight while our car got fixed. There were 5 of us and they only allowed 4 in the room but understood our situation and let us all stay in one room. First of all the price was cheap. I wasn't expecting much. Suprisingly the room was clean and very updated. Beds were comfy. Free breakfast was worth paying for. Sausage, eggs, potatoes, pancakes, sausage gravy, donuts, oatmeal, cereals, juices, and coffee. Check out was 11 but we were still waiting for our car so they let us check out at noon. We were still waiting on the car so they let us hang out in the breakfast area where there was a tv till we got the call around 1:30. Staff was fantastic. From the desk clerks to the maid service and maintenance men all were very nice. There was a McDonald's, Chinese food, and a pizza place right next door. Down the road just a few minutes drive was everything else under the sun from dining and shopping to the huge Dover mall. If we ever come back for a Nascar Race or the Casino we'll definitely book this Best Western again.

"Great affordable hotel!"

I booked this hotel for Thanksgiving weekend. The hotel was clean, quiet, conveniently located to shops and restaurants. The staff was extremely helpful. The hotel breakfast was adequate and the high speed internet was quick. Each room came with a combo mini fridge, freezer, and microwave so I was able to enjoy Thanksgiving leftovers!!

We stayed at the Best Western Galaxy in Dover, De. We would not only stay there again but we would reccomend it to weary travelers anywhere. The room was clean,, the bed comfortable, and the breakfast was better than most.

Room 110: switch & socket didn't work, carpet dirty, window on 1st floor unlocked, sewage smell from DE river, bedskirt dirty, bolsters dirty, long hair in clean bed, dust on lamps, hallway dirty, we slept in our clothes. Business & Personal: WiFi was not great.

I enjoyed myself, great staff, clean rooms great price! I stayed for 2 nights and the stay was awesome. I would definitely come back again when in Dover. Free breakfast was included and Robert went over and beyond and gave us a room on the lower level to accommodate my handicap aunt who could not do the stairs.

Good location and very clean and staff very friendly and helpful and I felt very safe in the area with the lights and the security in the area. The breakfast was good and area very clean and the lady working very friendly and helpful with working the pan cake machine that I had never seen before at any of the hotels I have stayed in the past year.

"A pleasant stay"

My husband and I stayed for the October Dover NASCAR weekend. Check-in/out was a breeze. Our king / jacuzzi room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Our only complaint is that the water pressure was not good in the shower/tub or the toilet. The complimentary hot breakfast was good; it included scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes, waffles, plus the usual continental breakfast foods. The breakfast lady was very was pleasant and attentive; she fixed the waffle machine when it misbehaved, kept everything stocked and even filled our coffee cups and took care of our dirty dishes when we were finished. Please give her a gold star! It was convenient to have a McDonald's right across the parking lot. The location was great...less than five miles from the speedway and tons of places to shop and eat.

This was a nice hotel, nice staff, and a good location for the City of Dover, Delaware. Parking was convenient. The breakfast was adequate. I would use this motel again when I am in Dover and I think that the positive, caring attitudes of the staff make the stay very enjoyable and pleasant.

"smoky and awkward"

The bathroom arrangement with the sink in with the tub and toilet is awkward for family travel. The hall was very SMOKY smelling - ugh! We put towels at the base of our door since the smell was terrible in the hallway. It was clean except for the ants on the bed and on the table. For the price, we were disappointed in the quality.

lost room reservation, didn't do anything to accomodate. tried to overcharge on the remaing rooms, horrible smoke odor in the building. A/C had to be turned off all night as a loud humming noise wouldn't stop despite trying everything. didn't receive the wake up call. food in a low lit, dark little room and isn't good at all. unfriendly customer service.

"Too expensive"

The room was OK but really too expensive for such a plain hotel. No real amenities to speak of. I would choose another hotel. I'm not sure that I would have felt totally comfortable had I been staying alone.

We also offer STARZ as our premium channel. We are thinking of switching to HBO due to numerous request.
