« What a gem to find in Dodge City, Kansas. »

My experience was super positive. Kevin at the front desk was wonderful.. The breakfast area was spotless and the food was excellent. My room was very relaxing and comfortable. The location is ideal. Close enough to all the attractions and various business locations, yet surroundings are peaceful and quiet. Will definitely stay again!

    « Dodge City stay »

It was a great stay and will definitely stay there again. The rooms were very spacious. Darla welcomed us upon our arrival. The next morning the desk attendant came into the breakfast area and greeted us and wished us a great day. Very friendly place to stay.

    « Weekend trip »

Our experience was great. The person at the front desk, Louis Vaquera was very nice and helped a lot. Great locations and very clean. They let us have a late check out which was wonderful so we could all go to church as a family and get back to the room and check out.

    « Dodge City »

Room was large with extra sitting area. Room had external and internal doors (2 doors) (not all rooms have that) It was very windy that night and the wind noise made sleep somewhat difficult. External door weather striping was missing or out of place. Otherwise room was very nice.

    « Excellent Hotel »

Best Hotel we stayed at on our cross country trip. Clean, comfortable, great staff!! A++++ We enjoyed being able to bring our furbaby with us for a small fee. Great location, great everything! Would choose it over any others.

Check in was so easy and friendly. The rooms are very clean as are the bathrooms. They even have a bar in the lobby which should not surprise anyone who knows the history of Dodge City. An extremely enjoyable stay.

This is a high quality motel at a reasonable price. The staff were attentive and sensitive to the needs of their patrons. The rooms were large and well equipped and made for a comfortable stay. We'd stay here again. Worth the stay.

First time staying at this hotel. I must say it was an amazing stay. Front desk staff were extremely professional and helpful. Maria in the cafeteria made us feel very welcomed. I will be returning and staying at this hotel again.

    « Absolutely THE BEST! »

This hotel was the best hotel we have stayed in! I wish we had had more time to truly enjoy all it had to offer and enjoy. Every thing about this hotel was 100%what one would expect from a quality hotel. We had had several bad experience with Best Western but this hotel renewed our faith in the chain... I HIGHLY recommend this hotel in Dodge City... BEST EVER!!

The location is great, easy access, right on main street of town. Lobby, rooms all nicely Western decorated and well maintained. Very friendly staff and well trained too. Excellent breakfast opened much earlier than the posted 6:00 AM. Overall great and economical.

I stay here every week when I'm in Southwest Kansas. I have to say Brock and all his staff go out of their way to make me feel at home. Everything is always clean. Thanks for having a great place to stay.

« You won't find a better place to stay »

The staff were most helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean and the atmosphere of the lobby, gives the feeling you are stepping back into the old west. The beds were extremely comfortable. We loved our stay here.

« They don't call it BEST Western for nothing! »

It may not be the most exciting town, but it's definitely a welcoming one! First of all, who doesn't love a hotel who welcomes you with fresh baked cookies!? In addition, the front desk attendant, Darla, welcomed us with a warm smile and exciting personality! Every moment I've been here the staff has been wonderful and friendly. They have made this hotel feel like home and to top it off they have an amazing bar, small, but perfect enough for a good time for a great sleep! Thanks to Laura, the bartender, for making us our drinks and making a small bar feel like a great friendly reunuion where we got to enjoy the ambient and relax after a hard day of work! If you're looking for a welcoming and relaxing hotel, Best Western is the one for you!

« Best experience at a Best Western »

We were on the last legs of 30+ day road trip through Colorado, returning home thru Kansas and Oklahoma when we decided to stop for the night in Dodge City. It was after midnight when we arrived. The checkin process was quick and easy even using four $10 gift certificates we had earned during our road trip. Sue was our night clerk, she was a breath of fresh air! She changed our room location so it was easy to carry our stuff in and out. We had been driving all day, hadn't ate and all of the restaurants were closed. Sue made sure we didn't go to bed hungry. She also assisted us with the laundry services. She was always helpful and never once grew impatient with what felt like to us a lot of requests. The hotel was clean, updated and the best of all BWs we had stayed during our road trip.

« A Good Deal With Lots of Space »

My wife and I made a reservation at this hotel in the heart of the town, expecting an ok room. What we got was much better. (It's always fun to be pleasantly surprised!) The check in was flawless and the room was ready for us early, which we appreciated after our long drive. The room was actually a mini-suite, with a nice bathroom, a living area with a couch and a writing table, and the bedroom area (no door between the rooms.) My only complaint is that the couch was essentially of no use because there was no light in the area. They need to install a floor lamp with some significant illumination to make that area usable. We stayed there a couple of nights and the breakfast each day was good, not excellent. The lady who handled the breakfast was very nice and helpful. The main purpose of our stay was to visit the Boot Hill Museum and this hotel was on the very same street, and only a few blocks down from the hotel. I would very willingly stay at this hotel in the future.

    « Very good. »

Good location, comfortable and clean rooms. Breakfast was very good with some hot items. Friendly and helpful staff. Good place to relax after a long drive. We would stay at this hotel again if in area.

« Best hotel staff anywhere! »

Kevin and Darla were the two managers on duty most of our trip. We booked 7 rooms for 4 nights and they were so good to work with. They truly care about their guests and make sure everything is running smoothly. No one is just a room number at this hotel. They remember your name and treat you like family. Very nice, clean rooms in a great location! We will always stay here!

    5
    « Terrific experience...unexpectedly so! »

The staff at this hotel could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Darla checked us in, and also recommended a wonderful restaurant for dinner that their free shuttle would take us to, and pick us up, whenever it was convenient for us. Top notch service!

« Best hotel breakfast ever! »

I had booked into another Dodge City motel through internet only to find it was seedy, thread-bare, with an old fashioned TV. I let them charge me for the room, but at a nearby restaurant asked what is the town's best motel. They send me to Best Western Plus. The room was spacious, attractive, with both inside and outside entrances. Most remarkable was the price (about $80) and the breakfast. The most complete morning meal I've ever had in a motel with offerings as varied as a family restaurant. I give them an A+++++

« Best Hotel in Dodge City, KS »

We stayed here on Jan. 4, 2018 on our way down south. It was fantastic. The lobby as well as other public places was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The amount of work that went into the decorating was amazing. Darla at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She helped us find a really good wood fired pizza called Dodge City Brewing not too far away. The girl serving at the bar was also very friendly. The rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was really good. Won't hesitate to stay there again. L&H from Winnipeg, MB Canada

    « A wonderful place to stay! »

The hotel is beautiful and has wonderful staff. Breakfast was delicious only down side is, it ends at 9:30am. The rooms are very clean and the beds are super comfy with lots of pillows! This will be my choice of stay every time! You won't regret your stay.

« 3rd stay, won't be the last - great facility with great staff »

This is the 3rd time I've stayed at this facility while in town on business, and if i wind up in Dodge again, that's where I'll head. Very nice facility, clean rooms, multiple folks were cleaning all day. Staff is very helpful. 2 of my 3 stays, I encountered challenging situations with my reservation (my issue, not theirs), which staff had no obligation to accommodate, but both times they went above and beyond to fix what was really my problem, not theirs. Speaks very well of their customer service.

    « Great hotel »

Great experience, We stayed for two weeks in this location. The staff was great!! Clean rooms, great breakfast, everyone was more than accommodating and friendly! I have never stayed in a hotel that I felt more "at home" in. They have free WiFi, the best breakfast I've seen in hotels, great location, and the staff is as friendly as can be. Darla at the front desk goes out of her way to make your stay comfortable, the rooms are cleaned well, Cindy is the bartender of the year! Louis does a great job as well and is very friendly, and they shuttle you anywhere you ask, thanks francisco. Great gym and pool area!! My favorite hotel of ALL TIME. If you are in Dodge city stay here!

« Thank you all for a fantastic experiance »

The room was Great, clean and spacious, while in the room i noticed all the fluffy pillows so on my way to dinner i asked at the front desk if they had any flat pillows, Darla responded, you bet we do and preceded to the the back room and pick me out a flat pillow, now i know that seems like a little thing but she didn't stop there she insisted that i go on to dinner and she would run the pillow up to my room. the next surprise was the fantastic breakfast served, what a spreader, fried eggs, sausage biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, pancakes and more !!!

My wife and I stayed at this Hotel for one night on our road trip whilst travelling from Tulsa to Amarillo. The location is excellent on W Wyatt Earp Blvd within easy walking distance of restaurants and bars for evening entertainment. The rooms are comfortable, and everything is provided, from parking to the excellent buffet breakfast. Our only disappointment for our one-night stay was we didn't have time to sit and enjoy a drink at the lovely bar. Recommended.

Darla was the employee working behind the counter that evening. She treated me with amazing kindness and respect. She quickly set me up with an amazing room and a low expense. Amazing service! When I pass through that area again I will definitely be staying at this Best Western again.

« An Awesome Western Holiday Experience! »

I found myself at the above motel over the holidays recently. While I was not expecting a memorable experience being in a motel room over the Christmas season I was wowed by the time I enjoyed. This motel and the staff there made my visit one to remember for Christmas's to come. The decorations were straight off the pages of Country magazine, really! I was blown away in the lobby upon arrival at the feeling of Christmas in the air and only continued to be astounded as I made my way around the motel. Each and every room opened to a new surprise that surpassed the greatest expectations I could have conjured up. It was like Santa Claus's own decorator had been in every common area. Amazing! The room was above my expectations and the service from the staff was superb. What a fine group of employees you have representing your business, city and the local area. The breakfast served was outstanding. Your front desk people are helpful, courteous, friendly, and genuinely caring. Special thanks to Darla for going out her way to make the stay wonderful. I will return again and encourage my colleagues to visit as well. Interestingly enough, I may actually look for a reason to be in the area next year. Totally!!

    « Don't Dodge This Place »

I prefer Best Western and Drury Hotels when traveling, and booked this hotel on my family's (2 adults, 2 kids, small dog) move west to California. Upon arrival property and lobby were clean, orderly, and in good repair. I was warmly greeted by Darla who graciously answered all of my questions. We got the family inside/settled, brought in bags, and got dinner at the next door IHOP which was ok. Had an issue with closest entrance to our room not opening from outside, which was a minor annoyance. There were only three towels for the four of us, but the Darla hardly provided another. Upon bathtime for the kids we noticed that the shower assembly & faucet was very loose and the shower drain was flow. This was all reported to front desk staff. They offered another room, but we were already settled and into the kiddo bath routine. I'm going to start looking at that first thing in the future. Rest of evening was nice and beds were comfortable. FYI: Apparently a train runs by every night at midnight and blares it's whistle (closest to the front of the building). They leave earplugs in your room due to this. My room was on the backside of the property and I didn't hear a thing. Breakfast was solid with a couple different types of eggs, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, pancake machine, fruit pasteries, yogurt, dry cereal, etc. The dining room was clean, nicely decorated, and the food was actually really good...better than most. Upon checkout I asked I brought up the maintenance issues and Kevin helped make sure the bill was adequately adjusted. Bottom Line: The staff at this Best Western have buy-in and genuinely care about making things right for the guest. They take ownership of any and all issues and don't pass the buck. This is indicative of their leadership/management. I'm confident the aforementioned issues will be rectified in short order. I would definitely stay there again.

    « Love that it's pet friendly! »

We love that our medium-sized dog can stay with us too! She likes to be in a close to her people so this works out well for us. Two downsides: Weather was so cold we wished there was an extra blanket in the closet without walking to the front desk in the night, and asking for. Also, pool was not warm & kids refused to swim in It (see below for more). This was our 3rd stay as we travel there each Christmas to see family. Last year the glass door in the pool area had the hinge sprung so the door wouldn't close. This year someone had left the glass door to the firepit-grill area, open, so even though the pool was heated you couldn't tell because it was so cold in there. The breakfast was great and I especially was happy to find hard boiled eggs there. The staff has been warm & friendly every time we stay

« Christmas Adventure made easy! »

Appreciate this whole experience! Hotel is very nice, clean, everyone helpful and friendly even on Christmas! Value was good. We tend to stay at Best Western properties because they seem to have good value and this was no exception. Part may have been the points we have built up but always fair and a great experience in Dodge City.

I love staying at this Best Western. I would like to give Darla a shout out as she is very nice and professional every time I check in and the bartender Cindy when I come down for a cocktail in the evening to the bar/lounge. Brock the manager is always going above and beyond to ensure my stay is the best it can possibly be! This is by far the BEST hotel in the region! Than you as always for a wonderful stay!

« Quaint and excellent customer service »

This hotel is really quaint and decorated so beautifully for the holiday season .. we arrived and were Starving and Right away we were offered cookies .. The front desk clerk Darla was very friendly and accommodating. Everyone in the building greeted us always smiling even the cleaning staff .. the breakfast was what you expected hot and plentiful wished they had bacon.. the other front desk person John was also very nice and was making sure we had a nice stay and expressed his condolences since he found out we were in town for a funeral.. I tell the customer service we received from this hotel was refreshing !!! Everyone seemed to love their job . The hotel offers free shuttle to local restaurants.. it has a bar which is cute but closes at 9pm wish it was open til 11 pm .. upon arrival we didn't like the location of the room and Darla immediately moved us to a different room which was so nice we were so tired from working all day and then driving for 3 hours to dodge .. there was one mishap with the shower in our room the water kept going to freezing Frigid cold in an instant even when I had the nozzle turned all the way to hot water I would have to shut off the water and turn bs k on I would then get hot water then Frigid cold .. my husband called the front desk and John immediately had a new room key and said to use the room next door no questions asked the staff wanted to make it right immediately no other guests had the problem I went ahead and suffered through the shower however my husband would not lol .., And on top of that John the front desk person tried to give us a discount but since we booked it through price line he wasn't able to but asked if they could something for us to make it right !!! I mean wow they were so concerned about our satisfaction.. we declined as we had to head over to the funeral and then afterwards we were heading home .. but I would like to thank the staff for their hospitality and recommend this hotel to anyone who plans on staying in Dodge City (go at Christmas time its decorated so beautifully) this place is great for families like I said it has free breakfast and an indoor pool and hot tub .. we will definitely stay here again !!!

    « Wonderful experience »

We stayed one night. Had a really nice room. Probably the best sleep we had in a long time. Good pillows & mattress. They had a shuttle that would take you anywhere for a meal or whatever you want to do. Which is super. You don't have to try to find somewhere in a strange City. The pool was very warm and hot tub was very nice. Checking in was so pleasant. The breakfast was the usual fair but good. There was a small bar in the lobby and coffee and cookies. There isn't a bad thing to say about this hotel.very pleasant experience.

    « Great Hotel »

We stayed one night on our way back to Oklahoma. Check in was quick and easy. The front desk help was friendly. Our room, 101, was spacious, clean and comfortable. The a/c was quiet but there weren't too many electrical outlets for my various chargers. Plenty of free parking. The room faced the street so there was some noise, but not much. The hotel is easy to get to and into from the street. Our room also came equipped with a microwave and fridge and an interior entry. In the lobby, you can belly up to the bar for a drink after traveling or touring all day. Several restaurants are within walking distance.

I was on a trip with my dad and my uncle, traveling from Seligman Arizona to Des Moines Iowa with a stop in Dodge City Ks. We booked 1 night and were very pleased with the staff and the service? In particular Darla at the front desk was more than helpful, and Brock the manager was very friendly and accommodating. When we decided to stay another night they were able to get us rooms and the service was great thanks to Darla.

« Barking dogs. No space or lamp nor night stand on my side to get in bed. »

Disappointed to see a Best Western Hotel looking like this. Normally they are really nice and comfortable. We heard a dog bark all night. We felt sorry for it. then we heard another dog from a neighboring house answering the barks of the dog in a pick up truck right below our hotel room in the BW parking lot.

    « Best Stay Ever »

I checked in and there was a toilet leak. When I called them, they came immediately and took care of the problem. They fixed the leak and had the mess cleaned up in about 15 minutes. My room was clean and nice. Most often when you stay a couple nights the housekeeping comes in and makes the bed and replaces everything. I am a simple person, I don't need everything done each day. It is just more work for the housekeeper. This stay they made the bed, but left everything else as I wanted it. I did not even leave a note asking for them to do that. The breakfast was very good! They had a nice variety of things to eat and it all tasted good. I am not much of a breakfast person, but this was worth it. I did not bring my laptop this trip, but they had an area where I could get online to check my email. This hotel was close to eating establishments and entertainment and they offered shuttle service if I wanted to go to the casino. I will stay here the next time I am in Dodge City!!! It was a great stay!

    « All Good! »

Stayed here just one night during a road trip. We were greeted at the front desk by Kevin. He was very charming and organized a lovely room for us with a balcony. The room was very nice. Everything was clean and well decorated. The hotel was just a short distance to several restaurants for an evening meal. We took breakfast in the hotel before we left. The staff member on duty was also very friendly. There was a good selection of food items and those that were cooked were done well. As with many places in the USA when you are looking for a hotel you can find that you have a lot of choice in just a small area. If you find yourself in Dodge City near to this hotel my advise would be to just book straight into here and forget the rest. I am sure you will not regret it.

« Close to everything in Dodge City »

We stayed in this Best Western in Oct, 2016, it was an excellent choice! It is located on the west side of town, but right in the middle of the things you want to do. Close, but not walking distance, to the casino to the west and to Boot Hill to the east, JuCo and arena to the north. Nice free breakfast selection in the mornings and everything was clean and well kept. Great staff, there were some a minor mix up in the reservations which the front desk was able to correct very quickly. Pool is indoors and very nice with a very warm hot tub and has a nice sitting area just outside the doors. Best parking is behind the hotel, just park on the north, go through the middle door and the elevator is there. If your room is on the east, you can enter through the door on the east and go up the stairs. No door on the west side.

« All Best Westerns should be as good! »

Wonderful staff. They recommended a very fine restaurant and took us there in the shuttle! Very nice room with a walk-in shower--important to elderly guests. This place is well managed! At the end of a very long driving day, the fine restaurant and the handy shuttle service were so very welcome!

« old hotel good location »

located just 3 min by car from the historic district and Boothill Museum and opposite the hotel is an IHOP restaurant but at crossroads. Hotel itself has some Western flair with a bar open during they evening..Rooms are ok and clean but beds were horrible - worn down and I woke every morning with back aches.

I found the Best Western Plus Country Inn & Suites to be clean, comfortable and with an exceptional staff. The décor is fresh and modern. The breakfast includes everything most people would want. I have no complaints at all. We now look for BW Plus Inns when we travel.

Shuttle driver, Franciso, was great. Very pleasant to be around. Took us to the casino then offered to show us where Walmart was, so we could find it the next day. The clerk who checked us in was very helpful and friendly as was the bartender. Loved this place. WIsh I could have stayed longer! The rooms were clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. WE had a full breakfast the next morning which was also included in the room charge and it was wonderful.

Stayed at this hotel for my nieces wedding along with a large group of family. Cannot say enough how much the staff went out of their way to make our stay great. We just checked out of this wonderful establishment. Our only regret is that we could only spend one night here. We chose it based on others' Trip Advisor reviews and while skeptical it could be as good as the reviews, it was! Great staff, big rooms, comfortable bed, entire hotel was super clean, good breakfast, cute bar in lobby, quality toiletries . . . the list goes on. It is obvious that this property is well managed and impeccably maintained. We hope to return someday when we're in the area.

Please look no further for superb hotel accommodations. If you are looking for a Dodge City experience, let this darling hotel be the one to take care of all your needs. They provide friendly and courteous staff all around. The rooms are great, the beds are comfortable with crisp linens and the bathroom roomy with nice shampoos and soaps. The hotel is thoughtfully decorated in Dodge City style. Take notice to the hall sconces and horse shoe hand rails too. My experience was splendid.

This place is like being home away from home. Loved the balcony! Affordable, convenient central location (close to all the town's action), clean, smoke free, pets welcome, fun and super friendly people, great breakfast, and best of all prompt shuttle service. I will most definitely stay here again. Highly recommended for all who plan to stay overnight in Dodge City!!!

    « Slept well »

This may be an older hotel converted to a BWP, but it was still nice. We slept well. I did hear one train, but it was in the evening before we went to bed. There were ear plugs provided if needed. It was clean, but it looked like the vacuum didn't work that well. Still I would stay here again.

    « Western-themed but still modern »

This is a very attractive hotel with standard modern amenities including a bar. The decor is western-themed with old black and white photographs of long-ago settlers and Indians of the area on the walls. The carpet and upholstery is also western themed, but very subtle so that one still feels as though you are staying in a very modern facility. Excellent breakfast. There is a train that runs next to the hotel, but they provide earplugs. I only heard it once very muffled. Highly recommend.

« Great property, and Kevin really helped me out! »

I am used to a high quality stay at Best Western Plus properties, and this one was right up there. And, Kevin went way beyond the call of duty in helping me correct a mistake I had made on Orbitz. This is a beautiful property and I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

Great place to stay in Dodge City. The Best Western was clean quiet. Located downtown close to local attractions, places to eat and convenience stores/ gas stations. Everything was in working order and the heating, air conditioning, and ventilation worked great.

    « You'll be delighted »

This is one of the very best hotels during our 23 day, 16 hotel, trip. The decor is delightful, playing on the history of Dodge City and the many movies and television shows about Dodge. Rooms are large and well appointed. Staff is as good as we have ever experienced. Breakfast was great. Stay at this property; you will not be disappointed.

    « Wonderful Stay! »

This is the "best" Best Western or hotel that we've stayed at during our trek across country. There was a cute bar in the lobby with a western theme. Photo below. Louis greeted us with fresh cookies and checked us in. A few minutes after we got settled in our room, Louis called to ask if all was OK! It was!! The room was well appointed, clean, comfy. Toiletry items were of exceptional quality. Sue greeted us at breakfast as she assisted patrons. Breakfast buffet served a large variety of goodies, including cranberry juice and five fresh fruit selections. Sausage biscuit gravy was yummy and piping hot. Fluffy eggs, mini-omelets, and potato pancakes rounded out the hot section spread. Check out, a breeze with huge smiles from Kevin and Sue (she gets around). Would most strongly recommend this Best Western for a long or short stay!

    « Better BW + Hotel »

We stayed here after discovering that the Holiday Inn Express was not yet open, and they had failed to tell us that our reservation there was not going to happen. The BW is very nice and seems quite new. The staff is helpful and there are a lot of them. The room was very clean and had a separate room with a sofa. The only thing that was not terrific was the AC as it is right next to the bed and blows on you when sleeping. The shower is a new concept with a smaller opening into it. We chose the hotel as it is fairly close to the historic area and a short drive or walk right down the street. There is an IHOP on the same strip, FYI. The breakfast here was the usual things and very good with pancake maker, breakfast meats, etc. The coffee machine allows you to choose the strength of coffee. They also have a small bar (Longbranch Saloon) off the lobby that sells drinks from 7:00 to 9:00. Bar stools are there. It is a good place to stay and the best for being near history. I only heard one obnoxious train overnight and did not use the gratis ear plugs.

    4
« Passing through on our way to Colorado »

The hotel is convenient to downtown attractions. We travel with our pets... so pet friendly is important! The green space around the location is small. Rooms are spacious and clean! Location can be a bit noisy due to road traffic and trains passing through. Hotel does supply foam ear plugs. Staff is friendly, bar is well stocked, and provides a hot breakfast.

« Great breakfast and Clean Room »

The staff was very hospitable and the breakfast was great. Scrambled eggs, cut up fresh fruit, hot full body coffee, biscuits and gravy. Room was clean and well stocked. Dog-friendly and parking was close to all entrances. The only downfall did not find a USB port to charge a phone.

    5
« Friendly and accommodating staff »

Friendly, accommodating and courteous staff. Nice clean quiet room. Within walking distance to dining and shopping. They also have a shuttle service. I would stay here again and recommend to others. I would not recommend the Charro Mexican restaurant across the street.

« Assigned a room another customer was in »

Sadly, we arrived late, checked in, went up to room and keys wouldn't work. Went back down to front desk to get keys fixed. Went back up, opened door to find another customer already assigned to room. Went back to front desk and the 2 employees there didn't seem to know how to handle the situation. They didn't know what customer was in the room, had to call the room to ask who was in their. Used very poor phone etiquette. We were given another room. The next morning, the receipt under the door was for the customer we had opened the door on. That of course means that he received our receipt. Another trip to front desk to get the correct receipt. At least the 2 employees we encountered then seemed somewhat more concerned about what happened. To add insult to injury, the other customer paid $30 less for the room. Such an embarrassing and disappointing stay. Employees need to be more professional and should offer something to customer in a situation like this. Will not return and will return to favoring Holiday Inn Express.

    « Best Hotel Ever »

We arrived in Dodge City after a 900 mile drive to find the cabin we reserved was not available. Brock was amazing to deal with as was Heather and Diana. They made our stay the highlight of the terrible trip. Brock was so understanding about our situation, and made sure we were comfortable, and in rooms that fit our situation. My husband is disabled, and we have a special needs daughter. Our friends that traveled with us have medical issues as well. Brock went above and beyond to make sure we had suitable rooms, and whatever we might need. The breakfast was wonderful the beds very comfortable, great pool and hot tub, and a nice clean building. The whole staff was great, friendly and helpful. Diana is an amazing young lady, made suggestions to the attractions, and offered any assistance we needed. Heather was very sympathetic to our situation. Sometimes during a stressful situation, all the guest needs to have is someone to listen and understand. These young people are what hospitality is all about We would recommend the BW to anyone that is in the area and in need of an exceptional place to stay. Thanks again to Brock and the rest of your amazing staff. Bless you all. and keep up the great work. You are all what team work is all about.

Noisy AC Unit. Could also hear other room units. Loudest of the seven BW properties we stayed at this trip. Breakfast sausage and pancakes were not good. Nice property overall, but the issues impacted this review.

    « 2017 Cross-Country Trip »

We've just returned from a 6200-mile cross-country trip. This is our 4th cross-country loop that we've taken since we retired, and on this one we completed our goal of visiting all of the lower 48 states. We stay at hotels as we travel, and we have learned what we expect from a basic hotel room, and have used these expectations to rate the hotel rooms where we have stayed. We had a large, clean room, with plenty of comfortable seating. It would have been nice if the couch had been in sight of the tv, but we rearranged the chairs and made ourselves comfortable. There weren't many plugs for us to use to charge our devices, and the wifi was iffy, but everything else was nice. The AC had a hood on it that kept the curtains from blowing. The window opened and there was a fan in the bathroom, so we were able to get ventilation. Best of all, the shampoo and conditioner were in soft, usable containers, not the hard ones we usually find. More hotels should use your supplier!

    « Awesome!! »

This was my second time here and it won't be the last. All of the decor is beautifully matched to a country western theme and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast was very good and the coffee was excellent--there is a coffee machine where people can choose the strength of the coffee, but it tastes fresh and wonderful. The pool area is clean and spacious: great for photo ops with the little one. But best of all, the rooms are huge and beautifully decorated. You have everything you need. I have stayed in both the regular room and the King suite and, either way, my family and I had more than enough space and were wowed with the comfort. The hotel is conveniently located to the Dodge City Museum, restaurants and historical markers. I will definitely be back again!!

« Great Hotel for the Price »

We were so happy with Best Western. We stayed during the Dodge City Frontier Days and the hotel's price was a little higher than a normal stay, about 15%. We were at another hotel in town that priced theirs up 106%. We walked in the lobby and was impressed. My wife even made a comment about the remote being in a bag saying that it was cleaned. Everything was spotless! The manager was very kind and helpful. The entire staff did a great job. The breakfast was so good, we didn't even consider going to the IHOP which sets in front of the hotel off of Wyatt Earp Avenue. I will stay here at this hotel again for sure!

    5
« Super Quality for the Price »

Rooms were very clean. My wife was impressed with the remote control in a baggy telling us it was sterile. The room even smelled clean. We would stay at this hotel again for sure. The location was just behind a IHOP, but the breakfast was so good, didn't have to go there.

« Good hotel all the amenities »

We wanted to see Dodge city (which is another story and has really squandered the opportunity to be a great tourist draw). That being said, we checked in to spend the night while on a roadtrip. We picked this hotel because it has a pool and hottub (in an enclosed area which was very nice) . We stayed in a king room with a balcony, which was big and beautiful. The balcony opened onto the mainstreet though and it was too noisy to be out (of course it was also Oklahoma in July so the temp didn't encourage that either). We were suspicious when we saw ear plugs on the desk (Issued by hotel) and sure enough, starting every 2 hours from 2:20 am on , a train came through town blowing its whistle -maybe 10 times every time... if you are a light sleeper Dodge may be out for you-I don't see how you can avoid the sound , it seems to permeate the town. Our room was clean and neat and contained a refrigerator. I used the hot tub , but for me the indoor pool was still too cold ( but I have low blood pressure and I imagine most people would have found the pool refreshing). Diana at the desk checked me in and was multitasking. She also managed to re-supply the towels in the pool area while running the hotel--She was pleasant and happy and a people person--good person to have on a busy night. The hotel had a western décor that I really liked and made me feel as if I was in the cowboy capital of the US-kudos to the interior design (even had a little Long Branch saloon in the lobby-I don't drink-but it was good for the ambiance).

« Stop over in Dodge City »

I am torn about this review as the room was very nice but the price was high to me. I paid 175 after taxes. The room was very clean and nice. Couch, sitting area. Everything was clean. The bed was not as comfortable as I had hoped. The air conditioner was the main problem. When we walked in it was set on 65 and I should have known because it wasn't that cold in the room. I got hot during the night. It cut on and off frequently. We were on the first floor and it was quite noisy outside but the hotel cannot help that. Lots of loud motorcycles. There was an outside door to the room that after you came in through the lobby you could take off the safety latch and come and go through the outside door. Never seen that before. I just thought for the money it was a little lacking. Staff was nice. Coffee was good. Didn't eat breakfast there

    5
« Excellent Hotel in Dodge City »

from making reservations to arriving at the front desk, we were treated as if we were the only guests and we were special. The staff is awesome, the room are remarkably decorated and clean, the accommodations are second to none. You cannot go wrong here, you will wish it was home!

« Only there one night, but staff were very friendly and helpful »

We were in Dodge City as tourists and decided to stay at Best Western plus Country Inn because we had a membership points club with them. We were greeted by the manager, checked in quickly, given a very nice room with a sitting area and introduced to the small bar they had in the lobby. After getting settled in we were ready for the Boot Hill Museum, dinner and show. They took us and picked us up in the shuttle, which was great because I was tired to listening to my Magellan for directions. Room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was good. We were given other suggestions of things to see/do while we were in the area.

    4
    « Fun decor »

This BW had the decor match their location. Fun western decor was all over the hotel celebrating the Dodge City western history. Food was good at breakfast and we enjoyed being so close to the Boot Hill Museum.

    « fireworks »

We did have a problem with fireworks being set off on the 4th of July. Even thought it was in the parking lot next door, they were shooting them at the Best Western. But, the issue was resolved after several Phone calls.

« Best stay of our road trip!! »

This was the best stay out of the several hotels we stayed at on our road trip! We stayed the 3rd and 4th of July. The room was clean, comfortable and really large for a standard size room. The decor is Western - and I would have expected nothing less for a hotel in a town steeped in Old West History. There is an IHOP right in front of the hotel but who needs it!! The complimentary breakfast offered by the hotel greatly exceeded my expectations and was FANTASTIC! They had scrambled eggs with diced ham, hashed browns, omelettes, pancakes, fresh fruit, yogurt, biscuits and gravy, pastries, cereal and more. I guarantee that you will not start your day hungry! Let's talk about the staff - All employees that I encountered - each and every one of them were knowledgable and exceedingly friendly. I wish I could remember all of their names, but I remember Natalia was responsible for cleaning our room, then there was Joel and Louis. For the employees I may have forgotten - forgive me- you were great! Bottom line - you can go wrong with a room at the Best Western Plus Country Inn. Best hotel in Dodge City!

Definitely will be staying there again.

    « Very nice!!! »

I came in late at night, on the Fourth of July, and there were fireworks going off EVERYWHERE. I was on the top floor, and when I got to my room, was pleasantly surprised at how quiet the room was, regardless of the huge noise happening right outside. The room was spacious and clean.

    « Perfect storm »

So many minor issues it can't be a coincidence. The worst is the shower built for short people only and the stinging showerhead. Clean and friendly, but not worth the price. Charged for safe we didn't use. Cockroach in bathroom. Iron discolored clothes.

« Best motel of our trip! »

Our stay was awesome from the very beginning. Kevin at the front desk was professional and helpful. He suggested an excellent restaurant in the area. We have stayed at this hotel multiple times since it opened. We have never had a bad experience. Everyone appears to be very well trained and does an excellent job. We look forward to making this annual trip to visit family in the area, and a big part of our experience is staying at the Best Western Country Inn in Dodge City, Kansas.

    « Great Hotel »

Our stay at Best Western Plus in Dodge City was a great experience. The room was beautifully furnished in a ranch style decor. I really liked that you could access the room from the parking lot or from inside the building. We were provided with everything we needed for a comfortable stay including a real breakfast which included sausage, eggs, waffles and almost anything else you could want for breakfast.

    « Exceeded our expectations »

Upon check in front desk clerk was courteous & helpful, room was very nice & clean, we were on a motorcycle pulling a trailer & wanted to go to the local casino without getting back on the bike so we took Uber there, great getting there, However, at 11:15 we were ready to leave & NO Uber cars available. Casino called taxi for us supposed to be there in 10 mins, 35 mins later called again, said on the way, at 12:15 I called the hotel to see if they had any other options spoke to Sue at the front desk she said if she took my number and said she would call back if we didn't show up within 10 minutes Sue called back and had a ride for us, she actually had a ride for us..so thankful for her going the extra mile to get us back then gave us late check-out since we were so late getting back period would definitely stay here again

« For BW it is a nice place to stay »

OK, so I don't stay at Best Western hotels as much as I used to as their quality just seemed to start going down hill. Add a new sign, change the name, but same old same sold. However, this hotel is a very nice place to stay and worth considering. PROS: For starters it is right off the main highway, easy off and easy on. Just a couple minutes away from the heart of Dodge City. The staff was very friendly. I had just driven 4 hours, was very tired, hungry and just wanted to get some rest. It was refreshing to be greeted with a friendly personality. They offered a couple places in town to eat and was informative on how long it would take me to get where I needed to go in the morning. The room was a bit larger, I suppose than your average sized room, but it is newer hotel as well. The one I stayed in had nice little kitchenette. CONS: None really. In Summary: If you find your self in Dodge City and are looking for a nice place to stay at a reasonable price, then give this Best Western a try.

« Family Celebration of Life »

We had a celebration of life for my parents whose remains are at the nearby Fort Dodge Veterans Cemetery. I explained to Kevin that we were going to have a celebration of life and a reunion of loved ones and that we wanted to cater a lunch and have 25-35 people attend. Kevin and Diana made sure that our room accommodations and the meeting room for our Celebration were ready and any needs that we had were met. The rooms were spacious and clean. The location in Dodge City was good for access to highways, restaurants and stores.

This was a wonderful weekend. From the time we checked in until the time we checked out, the entire staff was accommodating. We were in Dodge City for our son's wedding, all of our family was from out of town so we all stayed here. The wedding party and most of the out of town guests stayed here as well. We used the meeting room for the rehearsal dinner. The staff was wonderful, helpful, allowed us to use their refrigerator, grill and even helped us do some dishes!! The air conditioner quit in one room and at 2:00am, they assisted us with a room change. I truly appreciated the way we were treated and will definitely stay here again!! Brock, Kevin, Sue and Diana went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that we had a great stay. Johnny, the bartender, was fun and made excellent drinks for the dinner! Thank you for making us feel at home!!

« Don't forget any items, they won't be returned! Not much of a breakfast »

Even though the hotel had many vacant rooms we were initially assigned a room with plastic covering the window and noise from stucco and paint renovation. Why place customers on that side of building? We had to request a change and then move. Thoughtless and inconvenient. We forgot our iPad charger and called the next day to see if it was turned in. There was very little cooperation to try to retrieve it by the staff. No help at all. Breakfast is substandard!

Our room was clean with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, good coffee in the packages in the room (and at breckfast), extra towels. « Too many cowboys...not enough skilled plumbers! »

Dodge City is built into the side so a hill. The east end has a huge stockyard and when the wind and weather is right you will get a taste and smell of frontier living. This hotel thankfully is fairly close to the center of town and just west of the tourist trap called Boot Hill and old Front Street, which places this past the olfactory stimulus of the stockyards. The building sits perpendicular to the Wyatt Earp thoroughfare which is a semi loaded ribbon on concrete. Those whose rooms are closest to the lobby, might want a room further back (north) for peace and quiet. This is the first hotel I found with a saloon style bar directly across from the registration/check in desk. Perhaps a tribute to Dodge City's past where is was known as America's wickedest city. You won't waste any time dousing down that traveling road dust to wet your whistle here. The hotel recommended "The Station" for a good steak dinner. (It's the old train station building.) Unfortunately this was near the stockyards. I lost my appetite when I got a wrong whiff of what I wanted to eat. Closest I've come to going vegan. Ugh! So much for the cowboy lore, on to the plumbing problem. Been to a lot of hotels and seen a lot of "irregularities". Being a former building inspector I tend to "see" more than the average tourist. For example, if a two handled faucet is used, one expects the cold on the right and the hot on the left. On a properly plumbed job the right handle is the cold and is opened clockwise and closed counterclockwise. The opposite for hot. A lot of hotels screw this up and it is a simple matter of turning the valve stem around. Well, this hotel has a modern single handled faucet. Guess what...yep...done backwards. Lift and push right...hot...push left...cold. Waited a long time for hot water and wasted a lot of cold before I figured this one out. Dang instructions must have been tough to follow. I heard sledgehammering and sawing in the room next door being remodeled, which thankfully ended at 9 PM, so maybe they were in a rush to finish our room. I forgot to write down the number but I think it was about 318-320 on third floor middle of the floor. Too many cowboys, not enough professional plumbers. All other amenities were great. Didn't use pool or spa. Fine breakfast. Would use again. Parking lot a tad tight. Easier to enter off 14th street than Wyatt Earp Blvd. Faint train whistle at night was a nostalgic touch. Nice climb aboard steam locomotive for kiddies to climb around in Boot Hill parking lot. Super helpful staff got us our maximum discounts and rewards points.

« Excellent Service Therefore Excellent Rating »

The Hotel is clean. The sleep quality was good, with comfortable beds and quiet rooms. The front desk clerk was very helpful and the staff was always friendly and greeting the family. The facility was well maintained and very clean everywhere in the public areas. Prices are reasonable with rooms around $100 per night. Parking is ample and access is easy. The breakfast was hot and very good for this type of Hotel. There is an IHOP restaurant next to the Hotel. We will be back when traveling through the area.

« Exceptional hotel beyond 5 stars with the best breakfast I have ever had »

Sometimes you come across a hotel that simply stands out above and beyond others you have stayed at. Since I stay at a different one each week for business I have a good idea of what is execeptional. This hotel is EXCEPTIONAL. From check in to houskeeping this hotel's accomodations and service are both exceptional. You first step into a wonderful western atmosphere with a working bar no less open at 5 PM. The front desk staff not only appear professional they act it as well. I was waited on by Diana who was very accomodating to my needs. The rooms are large so you don't feel crammed up. Many offer a balcony option which you can go out on to enjoy the cool nights or just leave a little open for night air. Nice extra large cable TV with so many options to choose from including HBO. They sanitize the remotes and the guide is easy to use. Plenty of pillows and heavier bath towels. Nice amentities that I actually used. So often hotels will cut here and I end up buying shampoo at the drug store. The breakfast was the Super Exceptional. Grape juice option with real fried eggs option and other things to go with them. The breakfast room is staffed. The nicest touch was the paper at each table. So often I want to read one at breakfast but forget to bring it or pick it up. What I also liked was the TV turned to weather. Sometimes in the morning I am just not ready for cable politics and appreciated the weather channel. Parking is good and to top it off there is a I HOP next door if you want an elaborate breakfast. You just can't go wrong if you need a business hotel, or a wonderful tourist stop that also will allow pets for a small fee. This hotel is Exceptional and I should know.

Stayed at the Best Western on Wyatt Earp. I always stay there when visiting family in Dodge City. The hotel is very nice, breakfast always good, and hot tub always hot. I always request one of the rooms with a balcony as I like to sit out there to watch sundown and read my paper with coffee in the morning. I always recommend this hotel to anyone staying overnight in Dodge City.

I stayed two nights at the Best Western in Dodge City, Kansas. I had a rough night so I went down to the bar to have a couple of drinks and the bartender Johnny completely turned my night around, he was very welcoming, and upbeat. Best western needs more employees like him.

    « Just traveling through. »

We were on a western trip an looking for one night. This Best Western Plus was very nice and similar to other Best Western Plus locations, it was sold out the night we were there. We did have a couple of issues with our room, the AC did not work, but is was cool outside, so not a major issue. Also, we were in a room next to the elevator, there was some kind of motor that kicked in when the elevator moved, really noisy. I mentioned this to the manager at checkout and he adjusted the bill. I was very satisfied.

    « Nice night's stay. »

Traveling home from visiting family we wanted to get down the highway a bit further then the original motel we were going to stay at, we decided to call this motel and see what they had available. Well looking at the travel sights on the phone we decided to call here thinking that we were just getting a room at about $89.00. When we got there we wound up staying in a suite, (first for my mother and I). The suite was really nice. The only draw back was that it looked like a previous customer had fallen onto the heater/AC unit and broke the plastic cover and a piece of the cover had fallen into the heater motor and made one heck of a racket when used SO we unplugged it. (we did get a little bit off our bill for the inconvenience of no heater). They have a pretty good complementary breakfast that was better then most. We did have a bit of a sticker shock as the final bill AFTER what they took off for the bad heater was still north of $130.00, BUT if you have that money it is a great room for relaxing or entertaining friends or family.

    « Home in Dodge »

While checking out Route 66 and finishing up with a few Western Cow Towns and Presidential hometowns we were lucky enough to stay in Dodge City. The staff was beyond courteous and attentive, even the maintenance personnel were genuinely pleasent. The November date meant the Western decor which is done in excellent taste and fits perfectly in a town made famous by Wyatt Earp and Matt Dillon, was added to with great Western holiday additions that made the place seem very special. Desk staff and room staff were excellent as was the breakfast room and its personnel. All in all a great find in Dodge

Had an amazing stay at the hotel. breakfast was delicious! The front desk guy with a beard was so nice and helpful. loved that we were close to all the restaurants in dodge city. Only thing that went bad was the bar. The bartender Lance seemed lazy and the counter smelt like old moldy rags. he had his feet on the bar while i was enjoying my wings didnt enjoy that. Other then that it was a very pleasant stay. Would definitely stay here again but wont visit the bar

You will find a friendly and professional staff here. This is a clean hotel with large, comfortable rooms. We did not visit the pool, but it looked good would stay here again if ever in Dodge City We enjoyed the option of a shuttle to any Dodge City location during our stay. We can not think of any negative, except perhaps the lack of a restaurant on site. There were a large variety of options available nearby.

    « A Great Place to Stay »

A wonderful western-themed hotel in Dodge City, Kansas. Convenient to Boot Hill Museum, Walk of Fame, restaurants, a small bison herd, a huge cattle feed lot campus, a restored 1880's fort, prairie wagon trails from the 1880's, and more. A good base for a two-day trip into western history.

« Large room and friendly staff »

This hotel is well placed for Dodge City sightseeing. We had a a large and clean room. Check-in and check-out were efficient. The room did not have many electrical outlets and the staff told us they are planning on fixing that. Our tub did not drain well and the shower head is mounted very low on the wall, so anyone over 5 feet 6 will be challenged. Staff were friendly, especially Tim.

We walked right in to this Best Western without any reservations and secured a room right off. The clerk was very friendly and informative. We had such a pleasant stay and would highly recommend it for any travelers.

We have stayed at this hotel before and it was one of my brother-in-law's favorite places. Family and friends stayed here for his memorial service and the staff was very compassionate and helpful. The staff was amenable in satisfying our needs during a very emotional time. The rooms depicted the true character of the Old West Dodge City, were spacious and very clean. I can remember when the continental breakfast was a hard roll and coffee - how times have changed. The breakfast buffet had everything imaginable making a great start to the day. Highly recommend this hotel! I added to this review based on the question about the noise level - it seemed quiet to me but I noticed ear plugs were provided. They thought of everything!

We researched many of the hotels in Dodge before making our decision to stay at the best Western, we made a great choice! The rooms were spacious, up to date and accessible! « TERRIBLE-TERRIBLE-TERRIBLE !!!! »

How about this: tv didn't work and had to call someone. The shower came out like a firehose and you could not adjust the stream and you could not adjust anything about it. It blasted out to the opposite wall. In addition to that, as if that wasn't enough, it came out so hard that it flooded part of the bathroom to include the front of the toilette. Got into bed and realized they short sheeted the blanket. Tried to connect to the internet and had none. My husband had to go downstairs to get it straightened out. Don't waste your money here ! The Manager didn't do a thing. I even doubt we will get our money back altho I am going to call my credit card and have them work on it from there end. Oh , and the kind size bed is soft.. Probably 20 years old.

Very much enjoyed our stay in Dodge City and this hotel was perfect for us. The staff was helpful and efficient. The room was large, clean and comfortable. « Great Place - Good Location! »

We really weren't to sure what to expect when we book this hotel for the night. It was a Busy time in Dodge and we had no idea about where this was located and how far from town it was. What a pleasant surprise to find that is was a very comfortable, very clean hotel located very close to MANY restaurants and close to Boot Hill Museum! Our room was on the second floor. it was spacious, Very clean and the beds were VERY comfy! Nice hot strong shower! microwave and refrig were in room. The air conditioner worked well and wasn't noisy, There was a bar in the lobby that was open in the evening and that served appetizers. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and accomodating! They even drew me a map and provided directions to everything I wanted to see! The only draw back was that there was traffic noise from the busy street- but it was not too extreme or disturbing. (The hotel provided ear plugs in each room for those bothered but with the air on it really wasn't too noticeable and we had a wonderful nights sleep. I would recommend this hotel to travelers looking for comfort and a nice location to Dodge City attraction, shopping and dining.

« Nice clean hotel on the main drag »

Nice clean hotel right on the Main Street in town. They have a bar in the lobby open in the evenings. Conveniently located. I was in room 122, everything was great but you could tell the room used to be a smoking room or someone smoked in it recently. All of the rooms have a balcony you can sit on.

Excellent oasis in Kansas! This may be the "best" Best Western in the country. Prices fair, and rooms expansive and clean. Hotel staff very helpful and the free breakfast was as good as any restaurant. Bar in the lobby area! What more could you want?

    « Very nice hotel! »

Check in was a breeze, even though I arrived a little early. I had a room with a balcony. Not much to look at, but great for having a smoke. Staff were really friendly, and there is a nice bar by the reception area. There was an earthquake while I was there, obviously no reflection on the hotel...lol, but frightened the life out of me! Would definitely stay there again, if I was in the area.

« Emersion in Western Theming »

I don't usually stay at Best Western, but I was unable to find a source of lodging from my usual chain that A) met the met the requirements to be listed in the AAA tourbook, and B) was near the great western attractions in Dodge City, Kansas. This Best Western received 3 diamonds in the tour book, was close to the attractions, met my requirements, and had a reasonable rate, so I booked it. I am glad I did. I am an old west enthusiast. The second I entered the lobby I knew I was in the right place. There was a bar in the lobby called, " The Long Branch," with a photo of Gunsmoke's Dennis Weaver hanging by the bar. There was a statue of a cowboy next to the coffee bar. Paintings of horses, and cowboys grace the halls and rooms, which are totally decorated in a western style. I was already enjoying Dodge, and had just arrived. There are a few things I prioritize when it comes to a room. The internet has to be good. The TV must have a generous selection of channels. The coffee mess has to be fully stocked. This room had it all. I found 2 regular and 2 decaf coffees complete with sweeteners and creamers. The TV system had all the cable stations I needed. The internet in the room I occupied was speedy enough for my purposes. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Another area I am particular about is breakfast. I have diabetes which I try to control as much as I can with diet. Thus, I can't use the free high carb breakfast that is often offered at some establishments. I carry a bag of nuts with me, but usually need more protein and something fairly low carb. I was delighted to find fried eggs, which were delicious. Moreover, I found sliced cantaloupe, and strawberries, as well, which are fairly low glycemic fruits. The check in and check out of this lodging were both conducted by the friendliest of staff. In short, the lodging was excellent. If in Dodge, I would stay here again.

    « Great Hotel »

We had a 50th anniversary in Dodge City and Bill the manager was willing to work with us on holding a block of rooms for us. Very nice hotel, décor is new not some of the old stuff you see in a lot of them. Staff was very nice, breakfast was nice we took up the whole room at one point and I did not hear one person complain about the quality of the food. A/C was not working right but I just cranked it down and it was fine, blow dryer did not work but I used my sister-in-laws. I did not report the trouble until we left as we were in a hurry to get ready for party but I'm positive had we reported it, it would have been attended to.

A great western city. We enjoyed the hotel. It was located in a good place to get around in Dodge City. The room was nice and clean. « "Cowboy Up" It's Dodge City Days!! »

In Dodge for the big weekend and stayed here, probably our 3rd or 4th time...clean, large room (deck facing main street) with comfortable bed/linens and furniture...walking distance to I-Hop, the famous El Charro and the best (only?) coffee shop, Cup of Jones...breakfast is typical, hearty, and tasty but best, the husband/wife owners are hands-on hence issues can be resolved quickly....not a lot of competition but this is clearly the best we've stayed at in Dodge...nearby train makes a racket a couple times a day but hotel provides ear plugs if it bothers you....it didn't me

« Treat you like Family »

As a former resident of Dodge City, I have stayed at many local hotel/motels in the area when I come back to visit. My favorites by far, are the Best Western Country Inn and Suites and the Best Western on Wyatt Earp Blvd. The staff are very gracias and the rooms are excellent and roomy. They treated me like family so I thought I was special. I then found out my friends were also treated like family, so maybe it's not just me. My trips will always include lodging at one of the Best Westerns.

« Need to be Refreshed »

Upon check-in, we were promptly greeted. The front driveway is very steep to enter. The lobby décor was clean and inviting. The service was wonderful and the clerks were very courteous. The downfall to this hotel is that it is very near the train tracks and the horns echo through the night. The pool and hot-tub seemed a little older; but they were well maintained. Overall, our stay was pleasant and comfortable.

The bike is now much happier.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The lobby alone makes you feel right at home with some Dodge City history layered in. The staff was very kind and helpful and our room was large, clean and super comfy. We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit!

    « Best stay ever »

I had the absolute best experience at The Best Western Country Inn and Suites!! My experience started great with a great interaction with very friendly and helpful Ashley! She told us all about Dodge City and gave us directions. Our room was perfect and I love their pillows!! Everyone was so friendly! The General Manager Brock was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The bar in the lobby was perfect after a long days drive! The bartender Amber was the friendliest person we've met on this month long vacation! If we could just stay here forever, me and the misses would gladly sign up! Not enough kind words to say about all of their staff!! I highly recommend anyone remotely close to Dodge City to even go out of your way to stay at this oasis in the ole west!! It was even within walking distance of the world famous Boot Hill!! Absolute MUST STAY!!!

The rooms were very clean and comfy. The pillows were so soft, not hard as a rock like most hotels. The bathroom is extremely clean and spacious, the also have a little living room for like business meetings in each room. They have an amazing sized closet in each room with a full size mirror. The breakfast was hot and tasty. I would definitely stay here again.

    « Good family hotel »

We stopped in Dodge City during a recent road trip and found the room to be clean and had plenty of room for my family of five. (which is usually difficult for us to find) The free breakfast had plenty to offer. The kids enjoyed the pancake machine. The location was close to the Boot Hill Museum which we visited while there and the man at the front desk was very helpful in answering my questions about Boot Hill before our visit. We have never stayed anywhere else in Dodge City before but found that this worked perfectly for our needs for one night.

There is just not a lot of great lodging in Dodge City these days. We used to stay in a landmark hotel there, but it has fallen to bad times. This little Best Western Plus is just awesome. The staff is awesome. This is the motel that is close to being a hotel. Great rooms, super service and even a cold cocktail after a long drive. They will shuttle you to whatever restaurant you wish to dine at and come back to get you for your nights stay.

    « Excellent Service! »

Great place to stay! Very clean and extremely friendly staff. Thanks for the cookies when we were greeted at the front desk. There was no want for anything because the staff was there to take care of it all! We appreciated the laundry facilities, too so we could clean uniforms in between softball tournament games. I would highly recommend this hotel for business or family pleasure trips!

    « Amazing! »

This hotel is amazing! I was worried when we pulled up but it was way more than I expected. The pool and hot tub were nice. Breakfast was good but the pancake machine wasn't working unfortunately. The stuff will go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The bar was unfortunately closed while we were there but they do have one in the lobby. I highly recommend this place and I don't do that often! Thanks so much for an amazing stay!

    « Very Nice! »

We arrived late after the long trek from South Dakota. We were met by a very nice front desk team, were given a really quick check in, some Free Drink coupons at a nearby restaurant and even offered some fresh baked cookies! The room was very clean and spacious and was very cool after a very hot day of driving! The breakfast the next morning was one of the best we had had on our 8 state trip! Bacon, eggs, biscuits and fresh fruit salad! Would definitely stay again and recommend to our friends and family.

The owners of the hotel go out of their way to make your stay as wonderful as possible. They offer to drive and pick you up at the local casino or bar. Free breakfast and a great little bar to hang out. Just a great experience overall.

We come every year to spend time with family. We have stayed at a couple of other places but this stay was the best. The staff is friendly and very helpful, the beds were so comfy and the breakfast was delicious! Jeff and Brock were great and really seemed to care what we thought about our stay. They go the extra mile and we will definitely come back and will recommend this motel to others.

This was the best weekend I've had in a long time because, Jeff was so nice and knew the best places to take us for what we wanted to do. Thank you so much and I hope to see you all again. Dan

    « Great Weekend »

Stayed here while in town for a veterans convention (Military Order of the Cootie). Room was clean and well maintained. Geoff at the front desk was exceptional. Couldn't have asked for a better desk clerk/tour guide/concierge/chauffeur. Ample easy parking. Well located in town for our purposes. The Nebraska contingent was pleased with our lodging.

A good place to Stay. Special thanks to Jeffery and the eve/night desk person whose name I did not get. Very friendly an helpful. Liked that it is close to places to eat that you can walk to. When the car is parked we don't want to get back in it again after so many miles. Will stay again as we make trips to and from Santa Fe.

    « Nice Hotel »

This is a typical Best Western hotel that has been remodeled. It was reasonably priced and clean. Had good chocolate cookies. We did not receive the bottles of water we were suppose to according to our rewards status. The eggs at breakfast were rubbery and oatmeal was not right.

    « Road Trip »

WOW, nothing but great people! This was our first visit to Dodge City, so we had no clue as to where to stay. We picked this location being it was close to things we wanted to see. So glad we did! Everyone from the time we walked in made us feel at home! Karina & Brock at the front desk were like old friends! As we checked in we seen the bar area and the times they would be open, so we made plans to stop by to see what it was all about. After we did a little walking around town, we came back and stop by the bar. OMG, are we so glad we did! Amber was amazing and had the best stories about Dodge City! She helped us decide on where to go for dinner and a few others place to make sure and see before we rolled out of town. Talking to her at the bar, we made a comment that we could use an extra blanket in the room. Once we came back from dinner we stop by the front desk to ask for a blanket, and what did we find. Not only a blanket but a note from Amber making sure we would get one and making sure if we needed anything else to please ask. Now that is way more than service, that the way family helps family!

    « Comfortable »

Clean, quiet, comfortable. Great place to stay for the area. The location is near nice places to eat or quick places to eat. The outdoor patio is great to relax. Pool, spa and exercise options are a plus. Also gas stations near by to choose from make it great to get around if you are driving.

« Beyond accommodating and so nice! »

We had a very large family stay in a block of rooms for an anniversary party. The staff was extremely kind, helped us with shuttling, dealt with a variety of needs from children to dogs and best of all allowed us to use the conference room to spend time with each other. Highly recommend!!

    « Nice place »

This Best Western is right in the heart of town and convenient to everything. There is and IHOP in the parking lot and lots of other restaurants just blocks away. The suite we had was large and very comfortable and had a balcony. The breakfast was quite good and the staff was friendly. I would stay here again if I was in Dodge City.

    « Family Trip Fun »

We enjoyed our trip to the Best Western in Dodge City, Kansas. Its location was convenient for our conference and the breakfast was very good. We stayed 2 nights and even though they gave us ear plugs for train noise, we didn't use them as we didn't hear any trains. The pool is small but since we only had the opportunity to use it one afternoon, the kids were happy.

    « Welcome to Dodge »

nice hotel but not a Plus status to me. The other hotel in town is cheaper and has more amenities in the room. This hotel has a better breakfast though. Hotel seems a little older and the A/C in the hallway didn't work so the hall was like a sauna....

    « Perfect Place »

Nice hotel in Dodge City with a great room. Loved the decoration and the staff was friendly. They helped up decide what to do with our evening. The bed was good and breakfast was average fair, as I can't remember it being good or bad. Would recommend.

« My go-to hotel every time I come to Dodge City. You won't be sorry. »

Every time I stay here, I am greeted by friendly staff at the front counter when I arrive. The place is always clean and always meets my expectations. The room was nice and quiet and the breakfast selection was outstanding. Lots of warm and cold selections to choose from and you won't leave hungry. Brock was working the front desk when I checked out and was very friendly and wanted to make sure my stay was enjoyable. They have added a bar area and tables to the lobby area and it looks like it has been there from the beginning. I have never been disappointed with this hotel and I have already reserved a room for my next stay in September. Keep up the great hospitality!!! Can't wait for my next visit.

We could not have picked a better place to stay in Dodge City. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The staff is wonderful and made sure we were completely happy. A great surprise was the breakfast....over easy eggs! Normally free breakfasts are just okay. Kudos to their cook! If you are a picky traveler, you need to choose this hotel. We highly recommend it. Quality, comfort, and great price.

    « family time »

I came to Dodge this time to give my son his gifts, it was a surprise to meet up with old friends and renew my acquaintance with Billy and Kim, the owners. We had a good evening at the lounge which fit in the décor beautifully. The room was neat and tidy as usual and was quiet.

« Great Stay, Friendly Staff »

« Nice enough to refund our money. »

We booked this hotel in late May when we were on our way home from a cross-country trip. About an hour before we were supposed to arrive, we turned on the radio and heard a report of a tornado touching down in Dodge City. Worried, we changed our course. We contacted the hotel, and they were nice enough to refund our money. Although we did not get to stay, the hotel is worthy of an excellent review for its customer service.

« Only Place to Stay in Dodge City »

If you have never been to Dodge City this is the place to stay. The location is great! Close to all the attractions, Boot Hill, walking tour and restaurants. The room was clean, no smells like you find in other places, water pressure in the shower was great. For you ladies that need if for you hair no worries there. The bed was excellent that I looked to see what brand it was so I can buy one when I replace mine at home. Breakfast has a lot of variety, cereal for the kids, biscuits and gravy for the southerner, sausage egg and cheese biscuits, pancakes for everyone, yogurt and granola for the fit minded. You can find all this stuff, possibly one maybe two other hotels in the area but what makes this the one to choose is their staff. I arrived after making a 14 hour drive from Atlanta. Jeff and Brock at the front desk saw I was tired. I had 4 hrs till check-in. He called the cleaning crew and asked them to clean a room and gave me early check-in, with out me asking. Everyone made me feel like family! There are some regular business guests and the staff knows them by name and the atmosphere was wonderful. Last but not least in the evening you need to walk down to their lounge. Amber is awesome, she was behind the bar. They have appetizers you can order. eat there or take to your room. The atmosphere is warm and she makes you feel, again like you are home. Get a cup of coffee or a adult beverage and sit and see who shows up from what part of the world and enjoy!

« Great place to stay, great location! »

I knew I'd love this place the minute I found the complimentary earplugs on the desk! How could they possibly know my husband snores like a grizzly bear??!! (Oh...I guess they didn't. ..the earplugs were for the train whistles from the nearby trains. It IS a railroad town, after all)! The good news is I didn't even need them! My husband didn't snore, and I only heard the train whistle once. Seriously, though...the room was great - very clean and roomy, with a microwave, refrigerator, safe, and free Internet. I didn't have the complimentary breakfast, but the grizzly bear said it was very good. We loved the bar- great atmosphere - and Amber was a FANTASTIC bartender. Very fun to talk to. We will definitely stay here if we're ever in Dodge City again!

« Calm Setting through a tornado warning »

When we arrived we were told to get in to our bathroom in case of tornado. I was raised in Kansas and lived through the Topeka tornado so at least had some experience. The staff did a great job of keeping the guests calm. Luckily the tornado went on over Dodge City. This hotel fills the bill for an inexpensive friendly business-like hotel. Breakfast is a nice touch.

« Vacation was enhanced by this Western themed motel. »

Really liked the owner, Brock. He did a fabulous job decorating the property. From the cowboy boot/ranch style rugs to all the western pictures to the cool bar inside the jail. The whole place was clean and neat. Cookies greeted you at checkin, good breakfast menu with a cheery western style dining room. We stayed there going to Arizona and coming back both times we experienced the same warm welcome and comfortable accommodations.

So clean and the staff is excellent. They have a lounge which makes it so nice if you don't feel like going out. Décor and art work make you feel like you are home. We would definitely stay there again. Their breakfast is varied with many choices. Cookies in the evening is a nice touch.

« No need to get out of Dodge »

Not when you've got a facility like this waiting for you. What a pleasure to I open the door to the oversized room, Handy laundry facility. Plus a newly added lobby bar with some of the nicest service people ever. Did not partake of the very inviting Pool and spa (not enough time). Very convenient to restaurants and shopping. Our #1 pick when we return to Dodge City again.

« Best Western Plus Country Inn & Suites is the BEST! »

My stay at the Best Western Plus Country Inn & Suites in Dodge City, Kansas was the best! The hotel is VERY CLEAN and the rooms are super nice! All the staff were extremely nice and always concerned about making sure all our needs were being taken care of. Brock and Amber made us feel so welcome! Jeffrey took care of us at the front deck and was very professional, courteous and always had a smile on his face. He especially made my 83 year old mom feel special. He greeted her by her name when he would see her. That meant a lot to my mom. Abril was so sweet and really appreciated her helping us around town and the bartender Lance made our evening so much fun! The free breakfast was so good. Eggs, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy all delicious! The Best Western Plus Country Inn & Suites is a must stay when in Dodge City, Kansas!

« Excellent customer service and well maintained hotel »

I stayed for a conference in town and was skeptical at first. Best Western's in my area are not the best hotels but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, well maintained and way bigger than I expected. The customer service was the best I've had anywhere that I've been before. Brock was working the front desk and checked me in. He suggested a restaurant and it had the best steak I've had in awhile. Amber was the bartender that night and was very accommodating. I am definitely sending anyone who plans on staying in Dodge City to this hotel. Thanks guys!

Was in town for a conference and stayed at the Best Western Plus Country Inn & Suites. The hotel is very clean and nice looking. The staff is outstanding and made us feel very welcome. Brock was working the front desk and Amber was the hotel bartender. Both were extremely polite, courteous, and went out of their way to make sure our group was taken care of. The breakfast was excellent. We were very pleased with our stay and next time we visit Dodge City we will be staying here.

Another pleasant stay in Dodge City. Stayed two nights in a room with a balcony. Did the Boot Hill tourist thing even though I was born in Dodge City. It was a first for the girl friend. Did Mother's Day with Mom at nursing home. I recommend this Best Western for anyone wanting a top of the line hotel in Dodge City.

Stayed three nights for a conference. First thing I noticed was how clean everything was. Room was updated and had a small walk out balcony. Hot breakfast was really good. Staff was AWESOME! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. A big thank you to Brock, Amber and Lance.

    « Great Service »

The service was great and the staff were all very pleasant and welcoming. The facilities needs a facelift though. The bed was a little lumpy and you can see that the room and the bathroom needs an update. Given that, it was clean and in top order. Breakfast had excellent coffee, but the canned omellettes were, well tasted like canned omelettes. I don't think that the pancake maker has been cleaned in a while either.

« Friendly and well situated »

We arrived in Dodge City at 5:30 a.m. after travelling through the night from Chicago on the Amtrak South West Chief train. Thankfully a couple of travellers had arranged for transport with the hotel and all twelve of us were ferried to the Best Western . Although we missed breakfast due to the early arrival and sleep in we were kindly allowed to help ourselves to breakfast, tea and coffee. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants so you certainly will not go hungry. Just down the road is the Boot Hill museum which is well worth a visit. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Staff are friendly and eager to assist. We spoke to the proprietor Bill who is proud of his roots in Dodge City and give us an insight into Dodge past, present and possible future. On leaving Dodge and waiting in the station we spoke to a very kind gentleman who like Bill was born and bred in Dodge and he kindly gave us wooden nickels and sheriff badges. All in all a nice short stay in Dodge City complimented by the nice folk and good hotel.

First time I have stayed at this property. From the minute I walked in the staff was so helpful and friendly that I thought I was a regular. The rooms were nice large and clean. Brock ( the manager) ran the free shuttle out to the casino and back for me. His wife Amber was our bartender and stayed open late for us old road warriors. These are two of the most impressive young people I've had the pleasure to know. From now on I will be staying here when I visit Dodge.

    « Rave »

This hotel is very good value for the money. It shows to be updated on a regular basis as all the facility and all things inside appear to be in "new" condition. At check-in, Jeffrey was very courteous and helpful in answering all of our questions concerning dining and things to do in the area during our stay. The breakfast offering was quite good. The food selection was quite enough and its presentation and taste was above most breakfasts offered at other hotels. The breakfast attendant service the area quite well keeping the food items stocked and the area and tables clean.

    « Brock & The Team........Fantastic! »

From the moment we arrived early in the morning the hotel staff, led by manager Brock, couldn't do enough for us. Their above and beyond help and advice made our stay in Dodge City most enjoyable. Let's hope we get back there one day to enjoy more of the quaint city and friendly people.

« Usual Best Western excellence »

We are regular users of Best Western properties as we find the quality and all round standards exceed our needs. The Country Inn Dodge City didn't disappoint, we were tired when we arrived and we greatly appreciated the friendly service that we received from the staff. As usual the breakfast was excellent. The only possible down side for any light sleepers is the closeness to the train line, there was a small amount of noise in the early morning hours.

« Best Western - You bet! It is the BEST »

There were 5 of us who stopped here for two nights on our way to LA on the Amtrak train. We were picked up at the station in the early hours of the morning by the hotel mini bus and taken to the hotel, we were greeted by a very pleasant lady on reception called Sue, our rooms were ready and we were offered a very good buffet breakfast. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Brock the manager who is a really nice guy went the extra mile for us and we were very grateful for his help, his knowledge and history of Dodge City and his enthusiasm really shone through. Our visit to Boot Hill museum was well worth the visit. The morning we were due to get back on the train we were taken there by the hotel mini bus. We would definitely stay here again and would 100% recommend this hotel.

    « Weekend getaway »

Hubby and I took a quick weekend getaway with the dogs. We were very pleasantly surprised with both the room and service here. Check in was a breeze! The room was spacious, king size bed, fold out couch coffee table and chair w ottoman. The whole room was clean and inviting. The bathroom was also clean and pleasant. They gave us a room that had both an interior and exterior door to make taking the dogs out easy and hassle free. We got up late, and when checking out I mentioned I was sad we missed breakfast. Jeffery made every effort to please us... Even said he thought there might be food left. He went into the breakfast area, and sure enough... We got omlettes biscuits and gravy juice coffee and yogurt before we hit the road. We were able to take the food out to the lobby and eat while the dogs sat with us. We had a pleasant talk with Jeff about the hotel and Dodge City. What a happy friendly person Jeffery is! The hotel now has a bar in the lobby also. Nice touch! Very nice accommodations for a good price. The breakfast was the best we had all weekend, and the service was incredible. We will be back here if we stay in Dodge City again.

Good, solid hotel in Dodge City, KS. Clean rooms with comfortable beds. Have stayed there a few times with no incidents or problems. Would recommend this hotel. Prices for hotels in this area are high for some reason. That is for all hotels not just this one. Breakfast was better than average and employees are great. This motel is very easy to find.

I've stayed here before, and the place never lets me down. Nice view from balcony, breakfast spread was nice and fresh. No watered down juices! Location is close to restaurants. « "Out of this World!!" »

We were so pleased with our stay at Best Western Plus Country Inn & Suites this past weekend! What a beautiful hotel for Dodge City!! We only live 40 minutes away, but after a family wedding in town (that we helped with and enjoyed very much) it would not have been smart to drive home. The next morning the kids enjoyed the nice, clean, warm pool and the coffee from the breakfast area was delicious! Jeff was working the front desk on Sunday, April 3, the day we checked out. What a wonderful individual!! Great customer service! He got us the best deal possible, and we are so very grateful for that. We will definitely stay again!! We had already had a wonderful weekend, but Jeff, you made it end very special. Thank you!

    « A day in Dodge City »

The location is ideal to wonder around Dodge City. This also comes with a price as it is by the Train Track.( very noisy at night) . The hotel does provide ear plugs. The size of the room for a family of three was just perfect. The room looked very clean . It has a safe / fridge and microwave . The bathroom although small was also very clean and great shower pressure . The toilet paper holder was broken ! The corridor sadly smelt of fried chicken ??. We used the washing machine and dryer both easy to use. In the morning we had breakfast . It has a variety of choice.

« Great service, pleasant hotel »

We would highly recommend this hotel because of it's friendly service, cleanliness, western style ambiance, small bar area, and location. Brock, the manager, was very eager to be of help, promptly solved a TV remote problem, gave directions to various restaurants, and was very professional. As a courtesy, two pair of ear plugs were in the room, presumably to use because the hotel is on a busy main street. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. Thank you, Brock and staff.

Noisy ice machine. I really don't have much else to say. The bartender was great, the beds were weird and bouncy - could've used more support. Overall a good experience - everyone was friendly - room was clean. Would probably stay there again if I got a room away from the ice machine,.

The staff (Jeff and Brock in particular) were very helpful. I stayed here due to a family illness/death and had to keep adjusting dates. They worked with me to keep the rates reasonable since I was staying for so long and flexibility with changing arrival/departures. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and courteous and the decor was very fitting, considering the atmosphere and history of the town. We were at the end of a 2500 mile road trip which included 4 nights in motels. This was by far the best Breakfast we had included with the room.

« Wonderful Stay. Clean, comfortable, great breakfast and great staff. Very friendly people there. »

I have stayed on all 3 levels. Love the balcony levels which is two and three. You can set out when it is nice and view some of the town. Watch the people. It is a great place to stay and the owners are very kind and very friendly. They have a great breakfast and now have added a bar plus snacks for you to eat. They have a pretty good sized menu for the items. It is a very nice hotel, clean and very comfortable and pet friendly if you have one. Come stay at the Best Western. It is a great place to get away to.

« Had an awesome stay. »

We stayed four nights here and were very impressed with everything. We had a balcony room and were pleased that the balcony was large enough that it had a bench for us to sit on and enjoy coffee in the morning. Abigail kept our room immaculate, Maria kept the food for the full breakfast bar hot and replenished & Brock on day shift cheerfully gave us the complimentary toiletries I forgot. Everyone was cheerful, accommodating & just plain nice. We must especially compliment Tim on night shift. He was a wealth of information about sights to see and places to dine. He was always cheerfully available to us and we came to rely on him for answers to all sorts of questions. The people I must compliment the most, however, are the proprietors of this establishment. They were so full of good humor and vivacity, it was contagious. They made us feel special and like we were family. If you are visiting in wonderfully historic Dodge City, I highly recommend you stay at the Best Western Plus Country Inn & Suites. We certainly will again.

Wonderful staff....Thanks Brock. Comfortable, clean, and almost like home! The room was fresh and so clean. The bathroom was especially clean, down to the last detail... will stay there again. The price was very fair. The extra touch with the chocolate chip cookies and coffee hit the spot.

My family of four stayed on our last night of our Spring Break trip. The room was spacious and we were able to unwind from being in the car over 6 hours. There was an IHOP within walking distance that we went for dinner. Breakfast was great and we were able to eat and get back on the road.

Smaller format hotels sometimes let you know they are small with bare bones services - From a service Standpoint - this hotel acts more like a full service property. Super staff, Friendly Owners, impeccable presentation ,, well kept pool and hot tub, a free breakfast with most of the necessary items, Laundry services - same day or DYI .. The rooms are fresh , clean and nicely apportioned, The "balcony rooms are nice for a secure outside seating --

« This is five star but if I could I would give it more »

Dodge City is the iconic western town with a short but violent history during the late 1800s. This hotel is arguably that best that we have ever stayed at for service and staff. During our stay we were given a tour of the city by the owner and our every wish was catered for. From being collected in a courtesy car from the station to entering our large and most comfortable room we found it an example to hotels around the world, and we have certainly stayed at a lot of them! Breakfast was simple, well cooked and adequate. There was no bar but I believe that one is being planned. I really cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

    « Great Stopover »

We stayed here for one night to break up a train journey from Chicago to L.A. We arrived at 5.30 am, and one of our party had contacted the hotel in advance and a member of staff picked us up from the station and took us the one mile to the hotel. We were offered a good breakfast even though our check in wasn't until 2.00 pm. We then went to our room which was excellent and spotlessly clean. I asked the manager if there was any transport into town and he said `no problem,I'll take you'. So he drove us into town, and when I asked how much I owed him he said nothing, so I gave him $10 which he refused to take. I was amazed as I have never known an American turn down a tip before! The bed was excellent and although as someone mentioned earlier the railway line is close I certainly never heard a thing. Needless to say we were given a ride back to the station the following morning. All things considered, l would recommend this hotel without reservation, and the reception staff and management are the best I've ever encountered.

    « Not Recommended »

First ! I think anyone making reservations needs to be warned that the railroad tracks are directly across the street with trains and whistles coming through in the middle of the night. The outside entrance door had the secondary security latch torn off and the furnace did not function properly. Also the beds are Way Too Soft. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Same standard breakfast but not well organized or well maintained during the Breakfast hours. Just not very pleasant . I have stayed in numerous Best Western Hotels, but unfortunately, this one was one of the worst ones.

We recently decided to have a "staycation" with the kids and had always heard wonderful things about this hotel so we decided to give it a try. Thankfully the rumors were true! We went swimming with the kids and they had a ball. The next morning we took them down and ate breakfast and I was so surprised by how nice Maria the breakfast lady was. She went out of her way to make everyone feel helped and was super friendly. We will definitely stay here again if we ever just want something fun to do for the night ! What a great experience!!

We stayed here the first time several years ago. We were just driving by and picked it out. But we have stayed here by choice ever since. « 5-Star; 10+ »

This is the BEST Best Western we've stayed with and Best Western never disappoints me! Every area of the hotel is spacious, comfortable and tastefully done. The lobby was SO nice and comfortable. The owner is adding a bar and seating for appetizers and drinks in the evening ( a brilliant idea). The breakfast was very good; Maria had a nice variety of things to choose from and there were plenty of tables and space. The fitness area had a great variety of equipment and a nice large treadmill. Our room had everything we needed or could have wanted. Everything...everything is spotless! I will definitely stay here again when we come to Dodge City! The hotel is also located close to the Front Street/Boot Hill areas in Dodge and short driving distance to the Convention Center and Casino. We travel to visit family, so we stay at a hotel three/four days; time enough to get to know a place. I would recommend the Best Western Country Inn to anyone! 5-stars and a 10+!

    « A Logistical Nightmare »

The hotel itself wasn't bad, but turned into a logistical nightmare for us. Not wanting to share a room with my boyfriend's father, we booked the executive suite which claimed to have a separate sitting room with a sofa bed. In addition to this need, my boyfriend's father is handicapped, so we needed a handicapped executive suite. When we arrived, check-in took forever. We had our dogs with us, so we needed to be placed on the first floor, but they said that the first floor executive suite only had a partition. Eventually they made an exception for us and we were given the key to the second floor executive suite. Oddly enough, this handicapped room was set furthest from the elevator. All three of us, and two dogs, went into the room, which also only had a partition separating the bed from the living room. There was no separate bedroom as we had come to believe. Upset by this but exhausted we went to pull out the sofabed, only to find out that it was just a regular couch, no bed. My boyfriend and I ended up having to book a separate room, and were charged more than quoted for that room. The staff was very kind but didn't seem to understand what our basic needs in a room were. We arrived at 1am and since we had booked the executive suite they spend more time making sure that we still got a room with a hot tub that we insisted we didn't need than making sure we had enough beds and separation for everyone. I would stay here again if I were ever in Dodge City with just my boyfriend, but with the variety of needs we had, they definitely weren't met.

    « Family Gathering »

I reserved the conference room for a gathering of about 40 people about 3 months before it was needed. Up on arriving the day of the gathering it was ready and waiting. It was clean and well taken care of. We were allowed to use the breakfast area also for group over flow. All of the group said that it was the best place the group had ever met. Since motel rooms were also rented, the kids had use of the pool area and with the temperature in the 20's, the kids didn't want to go outside. I would not hesitate to rent the area again for another gathering. The owners and workers will go out of they're way to make things work "GREAT".

We pulled into Dodge City in the middle a of a snow storm, 6" of snow was on the ground in a short period of time and the snow was not letting up.. When we checked into the hotel i realized I had two nails in my tires and was leaking air, I had to get it fixed that night or we would be sitting on a flat tire in the morning.. The owner and his son were out clearing the snow from the parking lot and were more then willing to help me get the tire fixed... Thanks to them i was able to get the tire plugged in the middle of the snow storm and we were good to go on our way in the morning.. The rooms were very nice and clean, I have no complaints about the stay.. Thank You.

We have stayed at this motel several times. Both as a destination place and a stop on the way. We always travel with our dog, so they make sure we have a lower floor room with outdoor access. Train noise a problem for a few, but it didn't bother us at all. Will definitely stay there again.

Very comfortable stay. They give you ear plugs for the train whistle but over my husband's snoring, couldn't hear it. I Hop next door. Check in was sweet. Cookies waiting for us. Bed comfortable. Pillows lumpy. If I were staying another night, I would have asked for new pillows. We were in disabled room since they were booked for puppy rooms. Loved the shower and now I know how I want to prepare our bathroom for next chapter of our life.

    « problems with reservations »

My family and I stayed here twice over the course of one week as we traveled to/from our Thanksgiving holiday destination. We made our reservation using the 800 number, as we were traveling with a dog. The reservation specialist indicated there was no limitation on the type of room to be used with a pet. However, upon arrival, we were told we needed to be switched from our reserved king suite room to a 2 queen room, as only certain rooms in the hotel were pet-friendly. Not a huge deal, but certainly annoying not to get the room that was reserved (especially since the room we were assigned smelled heavily of smoke despite it being a non-smoking room). As we left, we made sure to tell the staff that we would be in the hotel an additional night in one week so that a pet-friendly room was secured. Upon arrival for our second night, we somehow had 2 reservations under our name, one of which had to be cancelled. Again, not a huge problem, but it seems strange that the international 800 number reservation specialists cannot communicate properly with the employees of the hotel. Also, most of Kansas was subjected to an ice storm during the days before and after our second stay. It's understandable that not all ice would be cleared from the parking lot given the extended storm. However, it seemed that no effort was being made to clear any ice at all, which was over an inch thick in some spots on the lot. This was particularly dangerous, since the hotel is on a slight hill, making it very difficult to walk or drive from the main street up to the parking lot. The breakfast was sufficient and convenient, and other than the smoke smell in the first room, the rooms were clean. Definitely the best hotel in Dodge City. Beware the train noise (not a hotel problem given that it can be heard throughout the city).

This is the second time I've stayed at this property and love it..... We'll stay again on our cross country treks.

We received a warm welcoming from the time we got there until we checked out. The rooms are very spacious and super clean. The staff was awesome. We have no complaints AT ALL!! If your ever in the area and need a place to relax this is this place. Ask for Brock! I usually do not waste time doing reviews, but we were so pleased with the service of this hotel I had to give it the props that it deserved! Also, there's a couple restaurants within walking distance which made our stay even better. I could go on and on about the perks of this hotel...but you should get the picture, Loved it!!!

« Nice place in Dodge »

One of the nicer places in Dodge city to stay. On the main artery with restaurants and shopping near by. Quiet and clean with an attentive staff and reasonable amenities. The breakfast is simple but always fresh and hot, variety of fruits, cereals, cheese omelets, bacon and sausage, juice toast etc.. It is set up early so even when you have to get on the road before 6 there is a fresh something to grab and go .. In house laundry when you need it and a first rate service if you want to send it out.. The new HD cable offered a few more channels and much improved picture quality. Ice machine functions quietly and is cleaned so you don't see any slime around the chute.. « Best hotel in Dodge City! »

This is absolutely the best BEST WESTERN I have ever stayed. From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted and felt very comfortable. The owners happened to be around during my stay. You can tell they love what they do and it shows within their staff, rooms and service. I was there for work and this is the only hotel I would book myself in Dodge City for business or pleasure!

« Most Amazing customer service »

I stay at close to 200 hotels a year. I have to tell everyone that out of all the hotels I have stayed, this by far is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The owners Bill and Kim and their entire staff welcomed our entire team with open arms and made us all feel like family. If you are ever in Dodge city or just passing through. Please make sure and stay a night to experience this wonderful hotel.

We stay in a lot of Best Westerns. It is our chain of first choice. This one is a perfect representation of why. Hotel itself is clean, comfy, and decorated to the Nines. I have stayed at comparable places and spent hundreds of dollars for such quality. The minute you step foot in the door you know you are in Dodge City. It is old town cowboy decor is perfect. Very classy. But if you Are like me, it takes a lot more than classy decor to get good rating. Our room had a great shower, super comfy beds, easy to clean tile floors (a must when traveling with a litter box], and the fridge even had a small freezer. The staff was soooo friendly. They even said hello/good morning to my dog each time we walked by. The owner was on premises all 3 days we were there, and also came out to speak to us and called us by name. I can't say a whole lot about breakfast... standard Best Western fare - but free and filling, so... This was our 2nd stop at this hotel, and next time we go back into Dodge we'll choose it again. For sure. With better breakfast, and less slippery in the tub while showering, I'd have rated it a 5.

« Over the top service! »

I'm still reminiscing about my stay last weekend for my grandmother's 90th birthday celebration. Our large (and loud!) group was made to feel so special...almost like the staff was part of our family too! From the lovely rooms, to the pool, to the breakfast, to the "party" room, everything was top notch. I can't say enough about the owners and the staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Thanks again!

« Very friendly, nice place to stay »

Just passing through on our way elsewhere and had a very pleasant night here. We got a jacuzzi suite for a very low price and the room was huge and very clean. There is a private balcony with a bench where we watched the sunset. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. If you gotta be in Dodge City, this is a great place to stay for sure! Also the breakfast was amazing! Omelets, sausage, pancakes and hash browns in addition to the regular hotel stuff, it was delicious!
