Clean and comfortable rooms with easy access of off 80 and good parking. Along with the Danville area it is convenient to Bloomsburg and Lewisburg. We usually stay here for the Bloomsburg Fair. I'm sure we will be staying here again next year.
Overall this was a nice place to stay. Very clean. Easy parking. Excellent Internet. The checkin/checkout employee could have been friendlier but she did her job and that's all that you can ask for. Husband in hospital with stroke was the reason for my stay.
This is a small property, clean and well kept. The rooms and beds were comfortable. The water pressure was good. The breakfast was standard fair, but good. It is close to several dining options. There is some noise from the interstate if you are a light sleeper.
Fluffy pillows, comfortable bedding and very comfortable beds and a roomy room...Free parking and Internet...Awesome Front desk personel, great hot breakfast was Yummy, heated pool that helped relax me after a long day at the Bloomsburg Fair.
We spend alot of time on the road and do travel vlogs so we are at the tom tier if every hotel chain. This hotel was average at best, but failed in other areas, we wouldnt stay again. Pros - room was clean, basic Breakfast area - very small but offered a variety Now, here is where they failed. As a diamond member, when we booked, we asked for lowest floor and also called to make the note. The day of arrival, I called before arriving and asked for a 1st floor room. I was told bluntly thet there were none available. When I mentioned that we requested this far in advance, I was told "we just go day to day", meaning requests mean nothing. That is a failure in our book so we likely won't return here. Customer service seems to be lacking.
Everyone was very nice, breakfast was average hotel breakfast, clean hotel nice outside of hotel very clean. Great value per night nice little pool also. My door didn't close really good but not an issue once I used the dead bolt and took my nicer things with me when I left.
After a long day driving, we found ourselves in Danville, PA looking for a room. Hubby searched the internet while I drove, checking prices and reviews. Everyone does that right? This one, just about $100. Decent reviews. We stopped, exhausted. Hubs knew I was done for the night, got in the car, said "room 317". Room was as expected. Not the best, not the worst. It wasn't until morning, as we left, that he told me the room was $160! WHAT?? A Best Western in Danville for $160+tax! Lesson: Book your room online. Clerks are probably told to sell the room at the highest rate. WILL NOT STOP AGAIN. Management, please keep your canned reply to my review. It's meaning less.
A/C BARELY worked which was not great with 2 five year olds that just had surgery but we were too exhausted to change rooms. Said that we took 1 towel and charged us $18!!!!! We didn't take a towel considering I brought my own to wash my children who just had EYE SURGERY. And I'm the only one who took a shower and left anything used in a pile on the bathroom floor. This stay added stress onto an already stressful week.
Enjoyed my stay and will use again when I'm traveling in the area. Will recommend this hotel to everyone
Very clean and nice hotel right off of interstate 80. Friendly staff. McDonald's across the street worked for us
This property wathe interstate. interstate. Friendly staff. Breakfast choices including healthy options and I believe a pool but I arrived to late and left to early. Would come back.
Stayed at many hotels during a cross country road trip with a small dog and this was the nicest of all the places we stayed. The property is so well maintained and immaculately clean! Room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Location convenient and safe. Staff very welcoming. You can tell they really care about providing a good experience. Refreshingly old fashioned values in today's fast paced and electronic world.
I went for work purposes and really had a great time definitely going to stay there again. Breakfast was good. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The inly problem I had was the wifi I did not report it because I did not really needed it but everything else was wonderful.
Check in and out was seamless.King room was immaculate with a very comfortable mattress and pillows. Warm breakfast was an added amenity with a huge choice of breakfast items. I would definiterly consider staying at a Best Western next time I travel.
This inn was immaculate. The room had big comfy beds and lots of pillows. The refresh they did paid a lot of attention to detail. My stay was extremely comfortable and restful. Breakfast is included but is so so. The eggs were dry and the potatoes were terrible. However the sausage was great and there are options for waffles, bagels, toast, something to fill your belly before the next leg of your travel. Overall top rating and would definitely return. As a single woman traveling I felt very safe and had a wonderful evening. Lots of restaurants nearby.
The front desk was extremely helpful. The room was fantastic. The room price was great. The breakfast was good. Bed were comfortable Pillows were comfortable. The room was large. The room was quiet. Great place to lay your head.
This Best Western ticked all the boxes for a comfortable overnight on a long road trip. Comfy bed, good shower pressure, very clean. Breakfast was above average. One very small complaint- we were at the end of the hall and our internet was pretty weak. I would stay there again.
Very accommodating and met needs associated with staying away from home. Felt comfortable and safe. Room was clean and inviting. All appliances worked well. Easy to connect safely to internet. Staff members available for assistance if needed.
I was NOT happy. I was told I could not check in early as there were no rooms available, and then they told me, oh you can check in early but we require a 40 dollar additional free to do that. That ticked me off. Not to mention how little they care about customer needs -- I was tired and didnt want to sit up in the McDonalds for 2 hours to wait till check in time. I ended up cancelling my reservation and fortunately BW Rewards accommodated me for that. I was also unhappy as the pool wasnt working/available and they didnt bother to put up a sign to let patrons know they were painting the parking spot lines so I parked not realizing it and was told to move my car. A sign would have helped. Anyway-- grumpy front desk, money gouging meanness. Not going back.
Beautiful town with wonderful people who actually enjoy where they work. Great food choices at the variety of restaurants in town. A very relaxing experience & would have liked to stay longer. We will definately go back & stay longer!
Property is well lit and clean with great disabled access. Staff is friendly and helpful. All amenities were excellent. The best hotel in the immediate area. No other property in Danville comes close. Best Western is now on our list of places to look for because of this experience.
We got a room without a reservation and was thoroughly happy with every aspect. The desk clerk was very accommodating and friendly. He gave us just what we asked for. The room was spacious and exceptionally clean. It had all the amenities i.e microwave , fridge, coffeemaker, etc. The breakfast was great. plentiful. Daytime staff was super friendly. They made a Best Western fan out of us.
On my way home to Michigan & decided to give the Danville location a try. Very pleased with the service, the area was beautiful & my room was everything I could have asked for. Staff was exceptional & even through the pool was down, I took a drive to see Danville instead. Loved the river & the historic district. Great breakfast & good coffee.
We came to this location for a Penn State Football game . This is about 1 hour from the stadium, when booking this was the most reasonably priced. Multiple hotels tripled their cost , not here ! Check in was very easy and pleasant the manager was very thoughtful and provided additional information. We only stayed a night , yet the facility and room was very clean . The only complaint is you can hear the people running upstairs. I am sure it was children so it's understanding. We woke up late and still got to the enjoy the breakfast. They had a waffle maker, cereal , eggs , sausage and small bakery items such as bread , bagels and muffins . They supplied coffee , tea and juice . Check out was very easy and the receipt was emailed for my email. Overall, great stay .
We always stay at Best Western when visiting Knoebles. It's clean, staff is friendly and breakfast is delicious. Price per night including breakfast has remained affordable for a family of 4. I highly recommend Best Western for family getaways!
Peter at the front desk was friendly & efficient and check-in was quick & EZ. My room was clean & comfortable w/fridge/micro. Bathroom was spotless with lots of towels & granite counter space. Free wifi w/ample signal enabled me to check weather & routing for the rest of my trip, check email & stream Netflix, etc. Grounds were nicely manicured, parking lot well lit & I felt safe walking my little dog. The only thing this location lacked is automatic front doors as it's VERY difficult to single handedly maneuver an overloaded luggage cart through manual doors! Although my room was on the ground floor as requested, I noticed hey did have an elevator. Once the rowdy kids running up & down the halls settled down, I slept well on super comfortable bed w/nice linens. I reminded myself that there are sick children in St Jude's who would give anything to feel well enough to be able to run up & down the halls, so I said a quick prayer, put in some ear buds and drifted off. Left out early feeling rested & refreshed. Grabbed an apple & banana from the continental & the coffee was fresh & hot :-) PS: Customer service & general comfort had been so nice that I stopped back for a second night on my way back home. Dawn was just as friendly as Peter & Jenaie had been. Housekeeping does an amazing job ~ kudos to everyone on staff !!!
The staff was friendly after a long day at Knoebels. Our room was clean and ready. The water pressure in the shower was the best! It was perfect! The breakfast in the morning was great too! Didn't know what to expect from a Best Western, but this one was better than some of the other hotel chains we stayed in.
Overall this was a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly. The room was clean. The hot breakfast was a nice perk. The only drawback and reason I didn't give 5 stars was because a pool was advertised on the website; however it was closed for repairs. I wasn't made aware until after the nonrefundable booking that the pool was closed.
The hotel is very clean and very updated. Staff are friendly. Breakfast is included with good selection: hot food, fruits, yogurt and drinks. It's so nice that they accept pets with a reasonable fee. I highly recommended.
The check in was good, the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really so-so, mostly processed food, nothing I would eat. But, probably appropriate for the cost of the room! Good value for the money, good location.
Nice folks at reception, clean/large room, free parking, hot water for showers, and quick & easy breakfast items. No issues at this BW better than the others that we stayed at traveling across America.
This was our second stay at this hotel. It is about 20 minutes from Knoebels, and allows us to bring our dog. Overall the rooms are very clean and bright, with the exception of the carpets being dated. The bed linens were fresh and clean, and the bathroom was clean. The hotel staff was very friendly, and the free breakfast was pretty decent. Coffee, juice, bagels/muffins, cereal, eggs, and either bacon or sausage. The waffle maker was the highlight for my girls! The only downfall was that the pool was closed for maintance. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel!
Everything was great except the refrigerator was noisy in Room 318. I had a hard time falling asleep . I was going to Geisinger in Danville for a procedure and I really needed more sleep. I probably should have asked to change rooms but it was two AM.
Clean, (inexpensive) $105 total for one night on Priceline, friendly staff, decent free basic breakfast variety with hot eggs, pancakes, sausage. Excellent shower head pressure, wide tub and curved shower rod. Two beds, desk, microwave, mini fridge, closet, flat screen tv, clean carpet, smelled clean. All good, would recommend.
Had a wonderful 2 night stay. Hotel is very clean and the staff goes above and beyond. Nice breakfast with a decent choice of items. 24 hour coffee or hot chocolate. A little sad the pool was closed for repairs but what can you do. Good size room with comfortable beds.
The room was clean and updated. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very good. Not just waffles but eggs, sausage and potatoes. The location is very convenient. Quick on and off route 80. Safe area
Very nice room and bathroom, terrific staff and grounds and upkept building. Fully staffed, full breakfast. Jaenael? and Karen were great. Pool temporarily closed for maintenance. Toilet sits a bit low for me but for kids that's good. So-so water pressure in shower but overall great. We stayed in 110 right next to lobby-so convenient!
I selected Danville's BW based on past reviews and wasn't disappointed. Its location made it easy to accomplish the photography I intended to do while staying in the area. My room was both comfortable and clean which added to a relaxing stay after a long drive. Nearby was eating places, both fast food and restaurants, another check in BW's favor!
Had to take my son for a doctor's appointment made the reservation online my only complaint is that I was unaware of a temporary additional charge before I got to the hotel an checked in. If making the reservation online that there should be a reminder. Unfortunately the pool closed.Other then that everything was great will definitely stay again
Convenient location, friendly staff, quiet other than subtle highway noise, good full breakfast, much cheaper than comparable nearby hotels. I would definitely stay again for a road-trip stopover where what you need is a good sleep and quick in and out.
The hotel is nice and our room was clean. The hotel is located just off of the highway. There is a gas station and a McDonald's across the parking lot. We stayed overnight for a scheduled surgery the following day and to have a comfortable place to work on homework for the duration of the procedure. There was a desk in the room with more than enough workspace for my laptop and I had no issues with the wifi. I give this hotel a 5 star rating! Also, it was much cheaper than the other hotels located nearby.
The hotel website lists an indoor pool as an amenity, which was the main reason I was willing to pay $100 for a night at this hotel so my son could enjoy the pool before surgery in Danville. However, the pool is closed and apparently has been for a while with s no clear plan to re-open it. On top of this, the room smelled strongly of a perfume smell that is now in all of my clothes that were with me. The "double" beds were small and uncomfortable to fit even an adult ans child. Also, the design of the curtain to the outdoor was confusing, and I could not figure out how to close the heavier curtains to keep the streetlights from shining in. On the upside, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean. Overall, however, it was over-priced for such a basic room.
Clean, quiet, friendly staff, nicely off the road but close to highway, gambling in the lobby!… winners too … Comfortable bed, hot showers, good running heat air conditioning and refrigerator in my room oh and small microwave
Have stayed at Best Western Hotels in the past and always count on the experience to be good. Clean and safe, with easy check-in / check-out, and a good breakfast to start the day. Would definitely recommend Best Western and the front desk staff to be helpful.
I've stayed here many times over the past several years. It has always been very clean (no "hotel smell"). The staff is friendly, and the rooms are very clean. The breakfast included is good. The location is good and is pretty quiet, making it easy to sleep.
I checked into this Best Western for a short stay & it was nice! I'd never been to this one before, but it was clean and the woman who checked me in was extremely kind. The hotel was quiet too. While it could have been a little more updated, I don't think it detracted from the stay & I enjoyed my time here.
We decided to give this hotel a try after a long day at Knoebels; where we normally camp. I am so glad that we found you. The rooms and hotel were very clean. In fact the entire hotel was immaculate. The rooms and bathrooms were on the larger size compared to similar hotels. The beds were comfortable too. I should have asked more more pillows; but did fine with just one. I have to say the shower was the best!! The water was hot and wasn't lacking in pressure at all. We all raved how it was the best shower we ever had at all the hotels we ever stayed at. It was perfect and helped with the back pain I was experiencing after a very long day of walking. The breakfast was good as well. We will be back again the next time we go to Knoebels!!
We were traveling from out of town for my surgery and wanted a nice local place to stay during this trip. This hotel was everything we wanted it to be. Clean lobby, polite staff, room was clean, nice shower, comfortable beds, AC worked perfectly and best of all, the room didn't smell like a typical hotel room. Beds were made and towels refreshed every day. It was all clean and fresh, just like home. Breakfast was good, nice selection and all very clean as well. After having major surgery, it was so nice to have a comfortable and clean place to stay. Thank you!!
Everyone at this hotel was very friendly - front desk, breakfast crew, room service. They have a strict non-smoking policy, which we appreciated. Rooms were very clean and in excellent shape. Beds were comfortable and showers had good water pressure, etc. We had no complaints about our stay. Breakfast had some hot items (like eggs, waffle maker) in addition to traditional continental breakfast items (yogurt, fruit, cereal, pastries/bread, juice). When we stayed, the pool was not open, so do check with them before booking if that is important to you. In our experience, there were better rates available booking at least a few days in advance, so keep that in mind as well (and keep in mind weekends are priced at substantially higher rates). This hotel is very accessible and quiet- we did not experience any road noise. If you need special accommodations, they make efforts to meet them (we had 2 rooms for our family and were able to get them side by side). Thank you to all who made our stay enjoyable! If we are back in the area, we will look them up first.
Booked this hotel for the indoor pool to use in between our outings and it was not open. This happen and I understand but the way it was put was that it has not been open and will not open for quite some time. This feature should be removed from your website until it is repaired. It was a deciding factor on booking this hotel for a lot of guests this weekend. Many people were upset.
Always amazed by how nice the personnel are at BW hotels. Room was nice, beds comfortable, shower fine and breakfast edible. What more do you want from a basic hotel? I usually stay at IHG hotels because I have a high rewards level and a credit card with them but I am finding that I like BW more. I travel with one very well behaved small dog and am getting tired of the increased pet fees from IHG.
Everything about this Hotel was top notch... from phone reservation to finish! ALL was pleasant, great hot breakfast, service desk conversation and area suggestions, service supurb! Best shower and sleep ever!
We regularly travel form Ohio to Boston to see our children. The Danville Best Western is about half way. We look forward to our nights there. The staff is great and the rooms very clean and well maintained. Also, we have an aged dog who needs a first floor room and to be close to the car. Our rooms always meet her needs. Also, there are peasant grassy areas to walk her.
I highly recommend the Best Western in Danville, PA. My elderly parents stayed here, and the staff was so accommodating…from helping them get a mobility accessible room to helping them get their breakfast every morning. The front desk and cleaning people were kind and friendly!! The hotel room was spacious and clean. Bed & pillows were comfortable. What a great hotel!
Cons: The front desk staff was not visible except upon check-in. The tub was clogged and quite a bit of water was leaking out of the faucet while the shower head was running, although the room clean. Less important, but still deficient - no microwave or USB ports Pros: The staff manning the continental breakfast was efficient and friendly. Overall: Not very impressed compared to the other choices in town
We were so pleased with our visit to the Best western in Danville. The front desk staff were so kind and helpful. The rooms were very clean and everything replenished promptly. The breakfast was very adequate.
A wonderful clean stay at a surprisingly affordable hotel. Amazing FREE continental breakfast that offered hot as well as cold food options. The hotel was close to major highway and local attractions.
Clean rooms and very nice showers. Helpful staff. Pretty typical morning breakfast. I hope my next stay the pool is up and running! I would recommend for a stay in the area. I have stayed multiple times for work.
Hotel was very clean. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Great location. Room was very clean and larger than we expected. Parking lot was safe. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
Make sure you count and take pictures for proof of all linen, including the pillowcases and towels. I was wrongfully accused of taking a fitted sheet, plastic bag, throwing out a perfectly clean pillowcase and messing up towels to be charge an extra grand total of $144. What a way to steel money from the consumer. Which would be to create false statements for false charges. Just beware people if you can find somewhere else better to stay, do so. I do not recommend that you stay at this hotel.
I recently stayed here for one night and had the most incredible outcome to what could have been a disastrous experience. The hotel and room were spotlessly clean, and looked practically brand new. Check-in was a breeze and even came with a "Thank You for being a Rewards member". Every Staff member was friendly and polite. Upon checkout, I left my luggage on the sidewalk and never loaded it into my car. I didn't discover my mistake until 10 hours later when I arrived home and it was missing. I immediately called and Martin assured me that they had my bag and that I wasn't the first guest to have done this. He offered to box it up and ship it to me. The coordinated efforts of Sunny, the manager, and Karen at front desk along with various other Staff worked seamlessly to get my bag boxed up, picked up by FedEx and delivered two days later which included a holiday weekend. I was blown away by their quick and thoughtful action and the results. I didn't disclose, but I had valuables in my unlocked luggage of both material and sentimental value and figured there was a low probability that those would arrive intact. Not because I thought the Staff were dishonest, but because the bag had sat on the sidewalk for an indeterminate amount of time and anyone could have gone through it before turning it in to the front desk. But joyfully, I was wrong; all was exactly as I had left it and all my belongings were accounted for. I doubt there are many places anymore where the outcome would have been such. I personally called the Manager and offered to do a couple of things to thank him and the Staff but he politely declined. All I can offer is my most sincere and humble Thanks to everyone who made this outcome possible. You and Best Western have my business whenever my travels take me to a destination you serve. Keep up the great work and know that you made a big difference to this guest. With Deepest Gratitude!
We booked a quick Valentine's Day getaway to the whirlpool room. The hotel room was spotless and comfortable. The whirlpool did not disappoint. Let's talk about those pillows....best pillows I've ever slept on. Staff was welcoming and accommodating. Location is convenient. We don't live that far away but when we want to get away to a whirlpool room again, we will definitely come back here.
Please count your towels and make a record. They will charge you a towel if it's missing. They charged me for a towel that I “took” and never did. I'm a nurse, why would I steal a towel?!?! They will also charge you on your credit card without approval or notice. Pay attention to your credit card statements.
I would recommend this hotel for its outstanding service, cleanliness, and professionalism. There was a dysfunctional heating unit in our room which cycled on and off frequently. I reported it after we left, and the staff listened and said they would attend to it.
I will give this hotel a five star review. Check-in process, quick, smooth and easy. The grounds of the hotel kept very well. Every area of the hotel is very clean & well lit. All the staff here very friendly & helpful. Conveniently located next to the interstate. Very good and stable internet. Karen Front Desk Manager, she gets a 5 star too!!
We travel on 80 across Pennsylvania frequently. And we have a small dog, so finding nice hotels is a bit tricky. We have stayed at 3 different Best Westerns along 80, and this is the nicest. It was recently renovated, and it was very clean. Also, the town nearby has many dining options, which is a big plus for us. We drove 650 miles that day, and we really hoped for a nice meal with a cocktail. Most restaurants in the town are not open on Monday, but we found one that was outstanding! Breakfast was simple but high quality. The coffee was excellent, something that I don't say very often about a Best Western! We will definitely stay here again. Just remember, this is a Best Western, not a Marriott! But it was just what we needed!
Loved my stay! I was in town due to a family emergency. My stay allowed me to unwind and focus on the needs of my family. I was also able to work remotely between hospital visits. Clean rooms, friendly staff, 24-hour coffee bar, continental breakfast, easy check-in/check out. Perfect location!
This BW made my wife and I feel very welcome. We have family in the area and choices for lodging are very limited and not very good quality. Will definitely stay here again in the future. Staff were extremely engaging and friendly. Nothing negative about this saty.
The management at this hotel always get it right, which is why I stay at this location. The rooms are clean and the staff is always accommodating and friendly. The breakfast area is always clean and organized. Coffee is available 24/7.
This hotel is always in tip top shape. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. It is close to restaurants and other shops. Knoebel's amusement park is also close by with easy access. The staff is friendly and accommodating.
The staff is so friendly and helpfull. We stayed labor day weekend. We needed to travel with our small dog, which was not a problem to have her with us, here. The hotel was so so clean. Our room was very clean. Very nice, updated. We were very pleased. And it was obvious that the staff were working very hard to keep everything sanitized. We had no concerns as far germs spreading. I just cannot say enough ,how everything was clean. We will visit again in October. My husband was working , I was touring around.
Very overpriced for filthy carpet, frayed upholstered furniture decades old, mattress toppers to extend life of overused mattress. Creepy, dark room. Pool "closed for maintenance" is a stretch of truth. This old pool hasn't seen water in a very long time (likely years).Other guest rooms stuffed with many family members. Carpet so dirty that bottom of feet turned brown. So many toppers on mattress that it sits dangerously high off the ground (don't let your child fall off that bed!) Felt ripped off and creeped out.
My 8 y/o daughter, boyfriend, and I stayed for one night to visit Knoebels only to get charged with $250 for smoking in the room. The woman working the front desk when we stayed Monday night 08/16/21 seen me smoking OUTSIDE herself when she took the trash out and asked me how my room was. When I called and asked about this charge they said it smelled of marijuana. Now, I do carry medical in the state of PA because of my trichotillomania, I even have to wrap my head in a scarf. However, it was not smoked in the room with my 8 year old daughter!! I am APPALLED!! Manager Karen WAS NO HELP! Also, here's a picture of a roach I was so kind enough not to complain about.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was very clean. Breakfast was good had plenty to choose from. Staff changed bedding when asked staff was very friendly. I had my two dogs with us and everyone was nice to them as well.
Just Kidding! This hotel is REALLY Nice! The rooms are BIG and the Hotel is Really Clean, they have a really good breakfast bar. Did I say Clean? FRIENDLY Staff and its really inexpensive. Are you going to Knoebels? This is the place to stay. (Pens)
Room was good but the jacuzzi didn't work the jets had hardly any pressure. The staff at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly they helped us plan out our trip and places to go and visit they were top notch.
This was such a pleasant place to stay! Staff was very courteous and friendly! The room was clean and the hotel was quiet. Who could ask for anything more! If we ever come back this way we will stay here!
Very clean, staff very friendly! Will definitely stay there again. Looking forward to pool and breakfast being open in the future. Very close to Knoebels and highway, which made our trip and traveling very easy!
⭐️10 out of 10 stars for the Best Western in Danville, PA⭐️ As a travel nurse, I experienced multiple hotels and can say that this is by far the best hotel I have stayed at. The staff is absolutely amazing!!! They are beyond welcoming every single morning and each afternoon as I'm heading to work. They really make being away from home a little more tolerable. I am very thankful to have found a place to stay where I feel the most welcomed at. They always have a room cleaned right away if needed. The rooms are always spotless. I never have had to worry about my room being subpar. The environment is quiet and relaxing. They do nothing but their best to try and accommodate requests/needs/etc. Honestly, it is hard to put into words just how great every single one of my stays have been here over the last few months. If you need a place to stay in Danville or the surrounding area do yourself a favor and stay here.
This property is very well kept! Good outdoor lighting, landscaping was well groomed. The room was clean and comfy beds and pillows. Amazing staff from housekeepers to front desk! Always had nice hot shower/bath. A nice grab and go breakfast.
We got the room with the jacuzzi tub and couldn't have been more happy! Everything was cleaner than expected and everyone was very accommodating! The breakfast was better than we expected with covid precautions and all! Will definitely stay again
The Best Western in Danville was clean and the staff was wonderful. I would suggest booking through the hotel itself vs. the website. The staff is very willing to help with anything, but are limited to how much they can help with reservations made through a website.
Really bummed about this hotel- specifically made reservation to be able to go to the pool and have a nice included breakfast in the morning- 2 things this hotel DID NOT HAVE and learned only upon check in. Yes, it was conveniently located 15 min north of Knoebels but the pool had been drained and only drinks for "breakfast included" rate. Had to hear how short staffed the hotel was- not Covid related. Would've driven the 3 hrs home with 2 exhausted kids and one rowdy dog if I had known I would be charged over $300 for a disappointing, loud night. Seems like they also only filled one wing of the hotel creating a lot of noise and traffic.
We stay at this Best Western approximately 5 times each year. The rooms are always very clean and the service is the best in the area. We have friends that stay at other motels in the area at the same time and we feel that we get better quality for our money. If you have any problems they take care of them right away. The ladies at the front desk Karen and Rinku are so helpful they always make you feel very welcome and are excellent representatives of the Best Western Hotel Corporation.
I checked in for a one night stay after making a reservation based on other reviews and the price. I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very well kept. Covid restrictions were in place and everything in my room and lobby looked spotless. The front desk people made check in and out fast and efficient. The room was quiet. There was a McDonald's conveniently across the street and fuel nearby. The complementary breakfast was good, including a breakfast sandwich that was freshly made. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again if I am ever in the area.
Very nice place to stay, peaceful and quiet. Is a none smoking hotel, nice green view from the room window Professional Personnel. Good and fresh free breakfast I really liked the coffee. But No cooler no microwave in the room.
Went to this location at 9 am Today as we were not happy at the Hampton Inn. Walked in waited ten minutes - no one came to desk - I could hear them in back room laughing and talking. There were unattended bags of breakfast foods on a table that anyone could have taken, states Pool not open due to covid yet other establishments had it available. Foyer was dirty.
Nicely, newly renovated. Kind and caring front staff. Exceptional service! Some things were changed bc of covid, but that did not stop any level of quality. Close to Geisinger hospital and conveniently located to many other things.. fast food, pharmacy, gas, etc.
We stayed at the Best Western Danville for 2 weeks because we had to attend to a family member at the Geisinger Medical Center and this was the perfect place to stay because it was convenient (close to the highway and the hospital), it was very clean (the room & common areas), and the staff was very friendly (to us and our dog). I highly recommend this hotel.
We chose this location because it was along the route of our 15 hr drive from IL to CT. After all day in the car, we were really looking forward to our upgraded room with a hot tub. However, once the tub filled half-way, the water turned cold. I called the front desk, and the clerk said he would reset something and that we should wait a few minutes then turn the water back on. We did as told, and the water was hot, so I called the clerk to let him know. Unfortunately, after a minute the water turned cold again. We tried waiting 30 minutes and filling the tub again; same thing happened. At this point, it's 10PM and we have a 6 hr drive the next day, so we went to bed. At check out, I told the clerk what happened and said I'd be happy to pay for the upgrade to a king room, but not the added upgrade for a hot tub that wasn't. She said the manager would be in at 3:00 and call me. Two days later, after no call or credit to my account, I called the hotel. I spoke with a nasty man with an attitude who immediately said there'd be no credit because I indicated everything was fine. He was not a manager, so I asked that one call me. When Karen called she agreed that there would be no credit because I should have called the desk for the second time so they could move us into another room. I said, "Do you really think I should have packed my belongings at 10pm and moved to another room? Not only did we have a 6 hr drive the next day, but I'd wiped down our room when we arrived as an added precaution." I reminded her that I wasn't asking for a free room, just to not pay the upcharge for the hot tub. She refused to budge and we went round and round. I said, "I'm done arguing, I'll post a review and let others decide if they want to stay someplace with a distorted sense of customer service." She said, "Fine-have a nice day," in the tone snarky people with no customer service use. There are tons of hotels in Danville just off the expressway. I suggest readers find one that values their guests - for our return trip, I know I'm going to!
Both front desk ladies were amazing! Breakfast was good even though it was take n go. The rooms were nice and clean. The shower was awesome and great pressure. The bed was comfy. The floors looked very clean
Hotel was excellent. The rooms were super clean and cozy, plus prize was great! The staff was amazing and very friendly. Close to Geisinger Danville and many local attractions. Definitely will be staying again in the future!
My husband and I had to travel to Danville for Covid vaccine shots during a winter weather advisory and booked an overnight at the Best Western Danville to be close for our 7 am appointment. The hotel was just what we needed to relax in peace and comfort, knowing we were close by. The attention to CDC cleanliness protocols is evident and we appreciated that. I booked online and then called to see if we could get a microwave and mini fridge in our room and were accommodated, no problem. We brought in our own dinner foos but were happy to enjoy the hot breakfast sandwich and breakfast bag including a perfectly ripe banana in the morning. Karen at the front desk was gracious and efficient during check in and check out in the morning was equally smooth. A good option when there are not many others in the vicinity.
We stopped here for a night at the end of the first day of a long three day drive. It was the perfect right-off-the-highway hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities. We had an SUV packed to the gills, and the parking area was well-lit and the area appeared safe. There was no issue checking in with our dog, and the $20 pet fee was reasonable (as it goes these days). Special shout out to Martin who took our phone reservation and then checked us in at the front desk. There was no question that he REALLY wanted our stay to be perfect. Recommended without any second thoughts.
As a travel nurse I felt the hotel I stayed at was harassing to the point I ended my stay early. I was called daily about housekeeping even though I told them I would let them know when I needed anything especially since I was working overnights and had my ADA dog with me.
We love that Best Western welcomes us and our dog. We know that staying at a Best Western will always be a positive experience and we look forward to visiting Best Western hotels again. We will be back to the Danville PA location in the future.
I can always count on the staff to go above and beyond when I stay here. Only issue is bathroom drain slow so make sure it gets checked when u check in. Otherwise breakfast is great (well as great as hotel food can be). Rooms are cozy and always very clean and finally veryvery friendly and knowledgeable staff.
staff was wonderful this is a great hotel to stay if your in town visiting Geisinger medical center. its close many places to eat, quiet and a friendly staff. although due to covid the breakfast wasn't opened like usual but they offer sandwiches and many other choices which is nice if your in a hurry.
I booked the hotel for 2 rooms for a one night stay. I had specifically asked for 2 handicapped accessible rooms close to each other. We were given 2 adjoining rooms. We checked in at 10:30 pm after a day at the amusement park after not being able to check in earlier. The next day we left before check out time as we were heading back to the park. My card was not only charged for the two nights but also $250 for supposedly our room smelling like smoke, mind you none of us smoke as I am on oxygen. My husband went outside the 2 times he did smoke. When I called I got nothing but the run around about how the gm was not available and the room reeked of smoke. I ended up fileing a formal complaint. I hope this gets me somewhere. Word to the wise watch your credit card bill!
The hotel was convenient to the highway, clean room, grab-and-go breakfast. The indoor pool was open but was small (got crowded quickly) and very warm (which is great for me). The beds were a bit hard, pull-out sofa mattress was flimsy (ok for a ten year old boy), but overall comfortable space. Lobby is small and adjacent to the breakfast area which is also small. Only 1 small elevator which led to people sharing the ride less than six feet apart. Staff friendly.
Hotel was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. After a long hot day at knoebels the kids were excited to go back to the hotel to swim. We had both complaints at all. Hotel and staff were great. We were traveling with family and they put our rooms together without us having to ask. Also, traveling with a large dog and they were very accommodating
We stay at this location 5 times each summer. We are there anywhere from 3 days to 5 days. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. With the corona virus we are very comfortable staying there we feel the staff is doing everything they can to ensure our safety
Pro: Staff was helpful and friendly. Pool being open was a plus. Grab and go breakfast bags had a nice variety of goodies. Room was clean and large. A variety of restaurants, gas stations and a grocery store within 2 miles of hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Con: None
Stayed for an overnight while traveling through on vacation. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel in great shape, clean and great locaiton for my travels. Staff appeared to be practicing COVID protocol.
This was the first time we stayed at this Best Western. We had planned on staying at another place but they had to close because of utility problems. Happened to get an email from BW with a discount so we booked there. It was so much nicer than the other places. We really enjoyed our stay. Will be going to back to the BW next visit for sure.
There was zero sanitizing by staff after dealing with guests. There were no available hand sanitizer. Guests were made to wear marks not even in the crowded elevator. I was ridiculed with my son on two separate occasions by other guests because we were wearing masks. Ruined our holiday as the pool was overcrowded with the same guests in it all day and night.
The rooms are always clean, the property grounds are kept very well and the prices are reasonable. This is the only hotel I will stay at in this area. My visit with the Best Western is always enjoyable. I love staying at this Best Western Hotel and have for many years. The staff and owners are always so friendly, caring and accommodating, and I feel like I'm at home when staying there.
Checked out early wasnt refunded the extra day. Charged more money after leaving on top of a 25 dollar a day pet fee. This was a trip for my company to do important work which ended terribly. This hotel did not follow procedures corretctly either as a charge was put on my card not a hold.
The hotel was adequate. In my opinion, it was overpriced for the location and the amenities. We only stayed there because others from our conference had already booked with them. There are better and less expensive hotels in the vicinity
Some of the workers are extremely Racist but some are really nice the rooms were ok besides the little funk they had and the chairs were dirty and full of stains but besides that everything else was Good
I was very happy with our stay here, it was only for one night but the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. My 6 year old son was thrilled with the pool. I would definitely stay here again if needed as it is very close to the hospital.
Stopped at this hotel on the way home from Philadelphia. Was happy to find that while only a continental breakfast was advertised in the tour book there was a full breakfast with eggs sausage waffles etc. Friendly greeting and fast check in though we arrived late at night. Only problems were that the tub drain backed up during showers and the hairdryer caught on fire when attempting to use. Reported both issues to front desk before check out and I felt the issues would be addressed before the room was used again.
We were traveling to the area and had to cancel a reservation at a local hotel due to lack of amenities they offered but did not have. When we arrived at the best western the young lady at the counter was so helpful. She found us a room and accommodation for our family of five and made sure we had the items we needed. The next morning, staff was just as polite and the children were able to make their own breakfasts (waffles, cereal, egg sandwiches) which was amazing. The price was a perfect fit too. Was cheaper than I thought it would be, especially for booking when we arrived not prior. We will definitely travel using Best Western again.
We were passing through and needed a night's stay. We are new to traveling with a dog (small boxer) and this place popped up as being pet friendly. It's a $25 fee to have a pet in your room. I wasn't excited about that. The room was adequate, the beds are full, not queens. That's a problem, probably more so than the $25 fee for the dog! Water pressure was fine, hotel and rooms were clean. We opted not to partake in the complimentary breakfast, it was too crowded and somewhat unappealing. McDonald's is right in front of the hotel, so we got our coffee and breakfast items there instead. I would stay here again, but only without the added expense of a pet. That just made it way too expensive for the quality of the room.
Booked this hotel for a long-drive road trip.right off the highway. Stopped by just to get some rest and sleep. The room is big and clean. very quiet. Breakfast is good. Staffs were nice. I didn't expect a Best Western in this rural area to be this good.
Right off the interstate, I80 at exit 212. Great price (senior rate), pet friendly($25 extra), super clean (outside, inside, rooms, etc.) assorted restaurants to eat at and many stores to shop at within eight miles.
Very helpful front desk. Clean and comfortable. Slept like a rock. I took advantage of their breakfast. Lots of choices and tasty! Its quiet and exactly what was needed after a long day of work! Will be staying here again!
Everything was excellent. The staff, the room, the breakfast and the convenience. The express check out was convenient and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel is convenient off of I80.
We always looking value. This hotel was clean everywhere. We were very comfortable, the room was a king bed and we had plenty of space. Bath was the cleanest I have seen in years at many hotels. We will be looking at Best Western first for our next trip. My friends stayed elsewhere and were very unhappy. I highly recommend this hotel. Our tournament is in Williamsport next year and I think we will stay here again and just drive a little farther to bowl.
The check-in and out procedure was simple. The room, hotel and grounds were clean. If you're bringing a dog you must call directly and reserve a dog-friendly room or there will be an extra charge. Dog-friendly rooms cost an extra $25. There was plenty of room to walk my dog on the grounds - bring your own dog waste bags. There are trash cans at the entrances for disposal. Uber service is available, but there are few drivers. I did not swim in the pool, but it looked clean. The Wi-fi signal was strong.
Hotel was clean and rooms updated. Everything worked!! Breakfast was good. Always refilling whenever it was low, nice and hot, great selection of breakfast foods. Staff was friendly and helpful. Weekend prices a little high but weekday prices were great!! We stayed on our way to Plymouth, MA. Enjoyed it so much we stayed at the same place on our way back home!!
We love this hotel because it is convenient to Knoebel's Covered Bridge Festival. The rooms are clean and roomy. The breakfast was delicious. The pool was refreshing. The beds are comfortable but could be larger. They are double beds instead of queens. Over all when going to Knoebel's this is the best hotel to stay in.
The hotel is right off the interstate. I stayed two nights. My room was clean, ac worked well, staff were friendly. I didn't eat breakfast. Pillows and towels could be better, but that's 99% of hotels.
During 3 night stay room seemed as if someone had been smoking in it. Temperature was set way too cool and arrangement of furniture was very inconvenient. Otherwise hotel was conveniently located and a good value.
This place was good, all staff i came across was friendly and professional except one guy at check in. i guess he wasn't to happy i check in at 1am, but i will not give this place a bad review for one employee that doesn't understand he has a job because of customers. This place was clean and everything in the room worked fine!
We loved staying at this clean, friendly hotel! Check in and check out were extremely easy and friendly! Highly recommend this hotel, but skip the bacon and eggs in the morning. Other options were great!
Room was clean and well maintained as well as the rest of the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast had a great variety to choose from. Only drawback was that the eggs and sausage were of a lesser quality. Overall fantastic value for the price
Upon check in we could tell that the Desk Clerk was having a bad day. Instead of handing my card back he tossed it at me as well as the pen I needed to sign the paperwork. He also checked us into a room that was already occupied and after returning to the desk to explain what the problem was his response was "My Bad". When ww finally got to our room the chain inside of the toilet tank had rusted through and broke and when taking a shower the drain was clogged. These things were not reported because if the rooms were being cleaned properly they would have noticed that at least the water was backing up in the toilet. The room appeared to be cleaned but after experiencing this I'm not so sure it was clean. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this hotel. Paid over $200 for 2 nights stay and the professional was lacking.
The hotel staff was friendly during check in / check out. The room was very clean and modern. The pool was also very clean. The Breakfast had a great variety and was very delicious! We cannot wait to come back again soon!
This was our third summer going to Knoebels and this is the hotel that we always stay in. I have never even considered going to another hotel, as I know that my experience will always be pleasant. The breakfast is always hot and there are always a lot of different options. The room is always clean and the staff is always friendly and very happy to help. My sons LOVE the pool and look forward to playing in it every year! I will be back again next year!
4 OF 5 NIGHTS OKAY-5TH DAY-RETURNED TO FIND ROOM NOT CLEANED-front desk=NO HELP JUST HANDED NEW TOWELS-breakfast only okay, but did have good service-don't recognise bw members with checkin options (points or snack pak)
This hotel seems like it has undergone some recent renovations. The rooms were very nice, large, and comfortable. The breakfast was also very good, with a couple of waffle makers, and the attendant was nice enough to get me gluten free cereal on request. The housekeeping/cleaning was outstanding. We have stayed in many hotels this summer and this one wins on cleanliness hands down. The towels were even folded in a decorative way! The front desk staff seemed very disinterested, but we got a good rate. I didn't feel like there were many dining options in the immediate area, but we were able to get pizza delivery and there is a McDonald's next door. Would definitely stay again.
very nice place to stay. very nice breakfast and they had a nice pool to relax at and swim the only thing is they need a some more room for you at breakfast to sit and time could be a little longer. the people that where their had some big families and there war not enough seats to seat and eat your breakfast so you hadt go back and fourt to your room to eat so yor food got cold.
Clean place. Good free breakfast. You have to request actual blankets at the front desk tho. What they put on the bed is like the same thickness of a sheet. The pool is on the small side. But i get the feeling that its never used so you could have the pool room to yourself. Seems like most of the guests are coming from knoebels so they arent really utilizing the hotel pool for entertainment.
I chose this hotel due to it's location of being close to family, it was a nice hotel well kept & clean. It also had a pretty decent continental breakfast. The only thing lacking for myself being an avid gym goer is this hotel no longer has workout facility on property, which was disappointing for a hotel in this day & age; for me that was a big deal breaker and probably would not return.
Wasn't sure what to expect after reading some reviews. Outside of building looks newer. Inside was a friendly staff to greet us. Room on 3rd floor was quiet, looked newly remodeled. The bathroom looked like it was redone last week, felt very comfortable using it. Room was clean, comfortable bed, pillow options. Only complaint would be not much seating in breakfast area, staff solved that real quick by opening up meeting room for additional seating. Would definitely stay again and would recommend.
The hotel was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. They change their breakfast hours to help accommodate travelers with kids. The hours for breakfast are longer which is helpful since the amusement park we were going to did not open until 11:00. The breakfast was best compared to any other hotel's continental breakfast.
This hotel was perfect. It is right off of RT80. It is clean. The staff is welcoming and helpful. The coffee and tea are available 24 hours a day. The breakfast is wonderful. There are many options that you can choose from. There's a second room for all the overflow of the guests using the breakfast area. The hotel staff keeps the breakfast area constantly filled. The hours of the pool and breakfast are perfect. The room was very clean. I am always concerned about how clean a hotel room is when I stay someplace. This is my second time staying at this location and could not be happier. The bathroom is cleaning. I was so pleased and look forward to being at a guest again.
The Staff was extremely helpful. The rooms were very clean. Our continental beakfast was very fresh and tasty. Breakfast area was very clean. The room was very quiet and peaceful. King size bed was extremely comfortable. Would return here.
We chose the Best Western for an overnight stop. The hotel was close to the I 80 and in very good shape. The cost was reasonable and the room was comfortable. I would stay again. Our only complaint was that the room was cooler than we wanted and the blanket was thin. We found the control difficult to adjust.
Great stay courteous Staff Karen at the front desk ...went above and beyond !!! Top Knotch !! Great Breakfast in the Morning ...Good advice as to were to eat Locally ...easy on and off rt 80 ...made my trip to the New Jersey Shore stress free !!!
This was a brief stay to celebrate my aunt and uncle's 70th anniversary. We arrived moments before a thunderstorm and rushed into the hotel. Baggage carts were readily available and we were greeted and quickly checked in. Being a member for many years, I was pleased that a stay bonus opportunity was brought to my attention and assistance was given so we could sign up. After checking into the spacious room, I noticed a refrigerator was not present. I walked down to the desk and the gentlemen told me they would try to get me one since I needed to refrigerate some medical supplies. They came up shortly with one and were so pleasant and helpful. The room was well lit with good TV available for my 91 year old dad. Spotlessly clean and fresh, this was a great deal for the price. The pool was warm and enjoyable. The breakfast was a great surprise. Even though it was listed as a continental breakfast, there were scrambled eggs and sausage in addition to cold cereals, waffle irons and mix, bagels and assorted breads and pastries. There were yogurts in a small refrigerator which were quickly replaced as they were used. The attendant was unobtrusive but efficient. And most wonderful of all, the coffee was not only passable, it was good! Gluten free options were available according to a sign but we had brought our own since finding GF foods can be chancy when traveling. Thank you for an excellent experience.
We stayed one night after spending the day at Knoebels Amusement Park. We were very pleased with the accommodations. We had two beds which were very comfortable. The room was spotless. Bathroom was a good size and tile was gleaming. No problem connecting to wifi. There was a nice variety of food for breakfast. We would definitely stay at Best Western again.
The location was near our planned outings. Everyone in our party found something good to eat at breakfast. The children loved the pool too. Groceries right down the road and restaurants hearby. Great value for the money.
Pros - The room was VERY spacious and clean. Beds are comfortable as well. Shower had good pressure and the provided shampoo, conditioner, and soap was satisfactory. The indoor pool was great too. The breakfast featured a waffle maker, pancake maker (and toppings), scrambled eggs, yogurt, fruit, and more. There was also a McDonalds and a gas station within walking distance, which was convenient. Cons - The parking lot is surprisingly small, especially for a truck and trailer.
We stayed during a competition weekend in a neighboring town. Great location, extremely clean, friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast, and decent pool! In fact, others involved in the competition who stayed in the same hotel, booked in advance for next year! That says a lot about the quality!
We were in the area for a soccer tournament and this room provided all we were looking for. The hot tub in the room was a great addition. The breakfast was very tasty. It was really a deluxe continental breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful for anything we needed. The only issue was the room next door showered very early and the running water was loud in our room.
We stayed 2 nights for a soccer tournament. We paid over 200 a night for my wife, daughter and I to stay. The cost did not reflect the quality of the room and experience. The elevator was slow and rickety. The breakfast was ok but there was little of no seating area. We have stayed in hotels a lot for soccer and I can honestly say I feel a little ripped off at this point given past experiences. I was expecting much more given the Best Western reputation of quality.
Stayed here one night on a business trip. Had my doubts when booking it, but choices were limited for the area. I must say I was pleasantly surprised to find my room very spacious, clean, and up to date on decor. It's not fancy by any means, but we'll worth the value for what the night cost ($65). Worth staying again if I come to the area.
My family of four (two young children) booked at the last minute for an overnighter to knoebels. I was pleasantly surprised by the facility. We booked the king suite. Room was large and clean. Bathroom was spotless. Complimentary breakfast was huge with a pancake and waffle maker, eggs, sausage, juice, coffee, pastries and more. Pool was great. Hotel was quiet and in a safe spot. Lots of nearby restaurants and an easy drive up to knoebels. Bed was comfy. Staff was wonderful and accommodating. My only complaints are that the AC wouldn't stay on-it was one of those automatic ones and even with it on the lowest setting it didn't stay on. It was very warm in the room. We were able to open the window but it didn't help much. I would bring a fan next time. Also there was no fridge or microwave in the room which was a little bit of a pain with a baby. But the staff let me use their microwave so it all worked out. I would definitely stay again and maybe just bring a cooler!
We selected this hotel because it was dog friendly. The have a select number of dog friendly rooms. Ours was located on the first floor near an exit which I thought would be a good thing for taking our dog in/out to do her business. . It turns out guests were going in and out of that exit most of the night. We could hear the door slamming shut until well after midnight. On a positive note, the room was very clean.
We've stayed twice. it's a reasonable price for the area! Front desk staff as been extremely helpful and pleasant both times. The rooms are a bit dated but very clean. We would stay again if we were in the area.
I enjoyed my stay here. There were not many other patrons, but that was okay. It was quiet and comfortable. My room was very spacious and clean. The free breakfast was nothing exciting but had a variety of options. I returned after I checked out when I was heading out of town to use the restroom and the front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming me in allowing me to do so. She even encouraged me to take a tea or coffee for the road. Would absolutely stay here again! The only thing I would change is that they would have a gym.
This is a genuine bargain! We would stay here again. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff was both courteous and helpful. Though waffles and bacon were good, the rest of the breakfast was "lack luster."
I booked this stay for work when I arrived after driving 16 hours I was very tired. The lady at the desk was wonderful very bubbly and happy so check in was easy. Got to my room and was very pleased it was a nice big room with a nice big tub. The biggest tub I have seen in a hotel. Breakfast was good not like most free breakfast. Compfy bed and easy to get to
I was welcomed by a very friendly staff. Check in was a breeze. My room was spotless and bigger than the average hotel room. After a good night's sleep in a very comfy bed, I started my day with a satisfying breakfast. A great experience for a good price :)
I wasn't able to park my truck in the parking lot for the hotel so I had to park down a hill next to a McDonald's and walk across the street in the dark, up a hill, and it was freezing. The girl at the counter was very pleasant and helpful. I'd say the groom was average nothing spectacular.
Trip was to visit some old areas that I used to be familuar with and visit and clean reliatives grave sites. Take in the changes over the years I've been gone with the military and Home land Security.
We stayed here one night to attend the Knoebels fall festival. We arrived about 3:30 and promptly had our room. It was on the third floor and very clean. The included breakfast was enough to satisfy everyone in our family - eggs, sausage, waffles, bread for toast and cereal. Given that we were just driving home, we asked for a late checkout so we could use the pool. They didn't hesitate in granting that request for us. The pool was very nice and warm. We would 100% stay here again.
This hotel had 2 major flaws. The bathroom had an automatic light switch which could not be defeated. So whenever someone had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night the light woke everyone else up.To mask truck noise we always turn on the ventilation fan. This unit did not have that option. And last, virtually every other motel in this class has a microwave and refrigerator, except this one. We didn't need it, but it's a pretty major omission.
We like this hotel because it is conviently located not far from Knobels. It also offers an awesome breakfast to start the day and an indoor pool to wind down at the end of the day. This year marks our 4th year staying at this. The staff is friendly and professional. Can't wait until next year.
Room was a nice size, we had 4 people. Good location, close to Knoebels. Room was clean--but beds need to be upgraded. Small and uncomfortable. For the price, I thought it was very average--maybe a little below average.
Staff are on their game clean, courteous, breakfast is a home run. I have stayed in other hotels in the area and I checked out early due to noise. Found the Best Western. Easy on and off the highway 80.
Old, smelly, noisy guests, music outside the hotel really disturbing for a good night sleep, far away from everything (need to drive everywhere because there's no bar or restaurant around). Way too expensive for the services offered.
I'm platinum with Best Western because I can almost always count on a good night sleep, with clean and comfortable accommodations. I also always know that I'll have a good breakfast in the morning. What else can you hope for? The next time I travel to Knoebels I'll stay here again.
Our stay was pleasant, and the front desk attendant was fairly nice. Pools are a must for our family , and children loved this pool. Breakfast was hot, with some great options. Would visit again. Room was clean and spacious.
We needed a last minute pet friendly place to stay close to Knoebels, and wound up here (about a 20 min drive from Knoebels btw). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The gentleman checking us in was patient and helpful despite having a lobby full of guests waiting to check us in. The room was clean, and the shower was nice and hot with good water pressure. My only negative comment was that the mattresses seem to be a bit worn and dip towards the middle. The pool was the highlight of the visit for the kids. It was clean and the water was heated to a nice comfortable temperature. Warm enough to get right in but not so warm as to not be refreshing. Breakfast was good. The eggs were so-so but they had a great selection of waffles, pastries, yogurt, bagels, oatmeal etc. Overall a good experience. I would definitely come back again.
I am giving an average rating because of the pool that was enjoyed by the five children in our family group, and the adequate breakfast that covered all the bases. However, the King suite that four of our group stayed in smelled of stale cigarette smoke, and the bathroom, although appearing clean, had a distinct urine odor. The AC was insufficient for the room and we were not able to change the setting. We all woke up with headaches the next morning. Staff pleasant, but aesthetics leave a lot to be desired. I expected better for the cost.
This was our second stay at this Best Western. We came as a group and had 4 rooms. We arrived at 9 PM and Liam was very helpful. He was the only one working and there were several people waiting in line to be checked in. He apologized that we had to wait (which wasn't more than 2 minutes) and was very prompt to get us checked in to our room. ~5 minutes after we checked in the phone in our room rang and he was calling to check on us. He wanted to make sure that our room was okay and to see if we needed anything. I was REALLY impressed! I have NEVER stayed in a hotel before that has called right after we checked in. He really went above and beyond to make sure everything was okay. Breakfast the next morning was hot and constantly refilled. All of the staff was very pleasant and accommodating! I will absolutely stay here again!!!
The reviews seriously scared me .. WRONG!!! Clean rooms, clean bathroom.. clean bed. That's all that really matters and it was perfect. Me and my daughter used the indoor heated swimming pool.. very nice. Breakfast is continental .. some hot. It is what it is. But if you want to pay more money McDonalds is 200 yards away. 15 min drive from Knoebels... Don't believe the nonsense reviews on how someone didn't get the bed they wanted ... ??
Told on arrival that my king room was not available I had requested. They only had king sweets for $60.00 more. I took the double queen room. It was double TWIN beds, wife not happy but it was late after a long day. Took showers and tub didn't drain so 4 inches of water on our feet. Went to sit down and the chair was filthy. Wouldn't even sit on a towel their. Was going to get ice and the bag in the bucket was wet, as in used before. Stains on the walls, bed linens and carpet. Mgr would not upgrade a rewards member to a king even with this experience. STAY AWAY not a Best Western quality location at all.
Great stay. Very nice staff. Clean rooms. Was surprised the doors to enter were not automatic. Convenient location, right off the exit ramp. Everything was great. Just don't have the breakfast. Microwaved eggs and sausage with bad coffee.
This hotel has easy on and off access to Interstate 80 - that's why we stopped there. The rooms are clean, and larger than usual for a limited service hotel. The free breakfast is just marginally ok, nothing is fresh. No one was at the front desk when we checked in about 6pm, just a bell on the counter. We rang the bell and, after a few minutes, an unfriendly, unkempt clerk appeared to check us in with no eye contact and no smile.
We have been to Danville many times as it is close to our favorite amusement park, Knoebels. We hadn't stayed at the Best Western so we took a chance and we're so glad we did. We had an adjoining room with our little grandson and his parents which made things even more fun. The large indoor pool is a plus and is well kept. The room was large and clean. My only complaint was that it could have easily fit 2 queen beds rather than the 2 doubles. Also, a small refrigerator would have been nice but the friendly staff took care of keeping our perishables. Breakfast was good and was replenished often. All in all, this is a great place for a nice and relaxing time.
We arrived at 2:30 AM exhausted and without a reservation, but the desk clerk was kind, friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, quiet, spacious and their pet rules were very reasonable. On our journey, we discovered some pet friendly hotels had dirty rugs and smells, but this one was nice and clean. Breakfast was good and plentiful.
I stayed at this hotel earlier this month & had a good stay! There was a slight problem upon my arrival but it was not the hotel's fault, it was Hotwire's, which I used to book this reservation. The hotel was sold out and there were no more rooms available, and Hotwire was supposed to contact me to inform me of this, but they never did. Thankfully, the super helpful man at the front desk was able to accommodate my reservation by fixing up a room that was not in service. The room was clean, which was all that mattered to me! I got a good night of sleep & enjoyed the free breakfast the next morning. Thanks for a nice stay!
Pros: Close to highway, close to Danville, reasonable prices, clean guest rooms Cons: Non-smoking rooms smelled of smoke, thin walls and floors This is a basic hotel, providing a clean, safe place to spend the night and little else. This wouldn't be a problem except the rooms in the non-smoking facility smelled like smoke, and the front desk staff was more or less indifferent to the complaint. The walls and floors are also thin, so kids jumping around in other parts of the hotel can easily be heard (the entire bed shook whenever someone in a nearby room closed their door). A good night's sleep was had, but things didn't calm down until around 11:00, which is far too late if you're the kind that turns in early). The bed was very comfortable and aside from the odor in the room, everything was clean (the bathroom was among the cleanest I'd ever experienced). The town of Danville isn't far away, so grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurants are within a five minute drive. Knoebels, which is the reason I'd imagine most people end up in Danville, is about a 25-minute drive on some beautiful, scenic roads. A decent place, if you keep your expectations in check.
The Staff were very polite. The rooms were extremely clean, great water pressure, and the breakfast was awsome. There is a McDonald's and gas station right next to the hotel making it a convenient lay over spot for long trips. If you drive 5 minutes down the road you will hit some other food stops in town if you don't want fast food.
After spending the night, I found a live "stink bug" in my pillow case. The front desk replied that they are having problems with them and there isn't anything they can do about it. They made no adjustment or compensation.
Needing a handicap room with two beds, this was the only local hotel that offered thiss combination. The quality and atmosphere were equal to the next door neighbor hotel. The breakfast was same in items. The room was clean, spacious, looked as if brand new. The receptionist was warm and welcoming. Will always call here first when need accommodations in Danville. The only subtle negative were the entrance doors did not open automatically.
We stayed at the Danville Best Western, From Sunday thru Thursday for a Funeral and had an an additional 2 rooms for other family members from out of town, the last checking out Friday..The front desk staff were friendly and most of them knowledgeable.. Dakota was a sweetie and the manager was really nice... there is 1 woman who needs more training but even she was nice..The Head Housekeeper is a do it all woman.. and very nice...We saw her all over doing a little of everything :D and she knew what she was doing... The rooms we stayed in looked like they had been redone they were overall clean and well appointed...The breakfast is the standard Hotel offered fair... the coffee was really good :D If we ever pass through we would stay again... I will add one little detail.. As most people from the South to the North know.. Stink Bugs are a thing...these are not roaches.. the hotel had a few...just something to note so people do not freak out if they see one...
Hotel check in was quick and they offered free coupons to McDonalds because they were renovating the front lobby where breakfast was usually served.(McDonalds was right across the road) The room itself was very spacious and clean, we had a wheel chair accessible room. Hotel is located right off the Interstate which was what we need. There was many options for dining within 5 to 10 minutes from hotel
Great place for the price. We stayed here because it's dog friendly and the heated indoor pool. The included breakfast was an added bonus. The room was clean and seemed newly remodeled. We would definitely stay here again.
My only issue with staying at hotels is that they use the cheapest tissues and they don't use fabric softener on the towels. Other than that, it's a pretty good place to stay when in the area. Near the highway and only a few miles from Bloomsburg.
It was very good experience. It is nice and cute Hotel what ever you need it is right there. If I returned area I'll definitely stay back in the same hotel. Location is also perfect is right off on the 80.
The rate was veryreasonable. The room was much larger and cleaner than some places that we've stayed before. The breakfast had a large variety to choose from. The staff was funny. We travel a lot & I'd have to say we were quite impressed with the overall value compared to what you get. (Normally we end up going somewhere else for breakfast but we didn't need to)??
The fact they are dog friendly is what made my decision to stay here. Overall it was adequate for what we needed, but it was frustrating to have motion sensors in the bathroom. Great, so in the middle of the night and you're trying to not wake anyone else up (or really wake yourself up) the light and fan come on by themselves. Not good! You can turn them off but the damage is already done. Also they know which rooms have dogs so don't slide the bill under the door in the middle of the night, and expect a good dog to sleep thru it.
It was so easy to get to from after leaving Route 80. There was plenty of parking and the staff was so friendly and professional. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We definitely will stay here when in the area again.
We were in the area for medical purposes at Geisinger. We rented two adjoining double rooms and received the hospital rate. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and attentive. The kids in our group enjoyed the pool. Vending machines were plentiful and conveniently located. The 24 hour coffee machine in the breakfast area was a nice perk. Will definitely keep this on my "return stay" list. I was almost put off by some of the negative reviews. I'm sure glad I decided to check it out myself!
Although they advertise non-smoking rooms our room had a strong cigarette odor. I called the front desk and they could not change our room without calling the off-duty manager and asking for their permission (not sure why this is my problem - your rooms are advertised as non-smoking and that is not what we found upon check-in??). Front desk also offered to come up & spray Fabreeze - for someone with bad allergies that would make matters worse. So we dealt with it and I and the kids all were stuffed up the next day. Housekeeping should have caught the strong odor and used an ionic air cleaner to rid the room of the terrible cigarette smell upon cleaning the room. Although on a positive note the beds were firm and very comfortable.
This is your average hotel in a small town. Nice breakfast selection. There is a pool and a lot of vending machines. There were vending machines on each floor. The staff were very friendly. I would stay here again.
After waiting for the lone front desk person answer several calls and argue with Expedia over a room charge, we were assigned a room which worked well for we were traveling with pets. The room was near end of the hallway and a side door with a key card reader - but it was broken. So we conveniently used a prop so we did not have to hoof all around the building. We asked for a non-smoking room and this one was definitely not one. When we brought it to the attention of the front desk they gave an air spray, but promptly knocked on the door to ask for it back. Two different people slept in the room each night of the two night stay and woke up with sore throats feeling they smoked a couple packs.
The staff were amazing, especially night time clerks! The room was horrible. We had a suite, but what it essentially was a large room with a sofa. NO refrigerator, no microwave, The bed had a small sheet and a little cover for blankets. the bathtub faucet wouldn't turn to shower all the way and the tub kept getting clogged, it spit out some particles that I don't even want to know what they were.
This was a great place to stay on our way to visit our son in Connecticut. The breakfast is fabulous-much more than a continental breakfast. With the breakfast included, this is a fabulous value. This is our new favorite place to stay!
Our room was clean and the front desk employee was helpful with restaurant suggestions. The hotel is undergoing some renovations so the workout room was closed and what looked like a conference room off the lobby was closed. The lobby and breakfast area are very small. There were sports teams there during our stay and we had to take our food to our room since there are only about 6 small tables to sit at. The breakfast attendant did a good job keeping the food refilled. The area is just too small for the number of rooms this hotel has. The pool was small and the pool area looked well used and tired.
Our trip to Knoebels was marred by a stay at your hotel. We checked in & went to the park & upon arriving back to hotel, there were no available parking spots. I went into the front desk & they acted surprised & then told me there were not enough spaces for each room. That statement made no sense at all. They told me to park on the grass but I was uncomfortable doing that as it is a downward slope. I parked along the grass on the parking lot instead. Upon checking out, I was not asked how my stay was which is unusual. Didn't matter because I told them. The woman was clueless as to the parking lot situation. I cannot believe that no one in that hotel saw the RV & boat taking up 10+ parking spaces. It would have made more sense to have them park elsewhere. I was assured the manager would email me but after a week I guess there will be no email. Also would be nice if toilet tissue was close enough to the toilet to reach. I'm not a very short woman but 5'10" & if I can't reach it I'm sure many others can't. I also mentioned my room must have had a dig in it & not properly cleaned because I was very itchy & sneezing while in the room.
Was out for an extended weekend. Just driving around seeing the different local attractions and historical sites. Started looking for a place to stay for the night and came across this hotel. The price was right and also the amenities were what we were looking for.
The room was clean and the staff was nice. In our room, the beds were uncomfortable and noisy. Every time you moved in the bed or rolled over they squeaked. I am a light sleeper and every time my husband or I moved or rolled over, I was awakened by the squeaky bed. Since we only stayed one night, we didn't bother to pack up and move to another room. Maybe before settling into the room, you could check out the beds. Then you could ask for another room, if you got squeaky, uncomfortable beds. Hopefully, it was only our room. Typically we have been very happy with Best Western hotels.
Close to Knoebels which is what we wanted. The staff was friendly. Nice rooms with super clean bathrooms; family raved about the showerheads! Strange thing, mini fridge not standard in room. If you ask for one they will bring it up at no charge though.
I come up to Knoebels amusement resort a few times a year and this is always my go to hotel. Located 20 minutes or so from Knoebels in Danville , it's an easy jump to the park. Continental breakfast, great staff and nice, comfy rooms. Never had a bad experience here.
We like this hotel because it is close to Knobels. The hotel is suitable for our needs. It comes with a nice hot breakfast, which is a great start to our day. Over all, this hotel is a good place to stay when you're in the area.
As hotels with the best western logo go this is the worst I've ever ben in owners kids running up and down the halls remodeled room wit unfinished carpet badly pached wall board no refrigerator or microwave breakfast empty of eggs and meat 25 min whaite to get both restocked no breakfast 2nd or 3rd day McDonald's coupon instead this owner is at the bottom of my recommendations list i will never go back
Great choice if you are staying in Danville. We stayed here for it's close proximity to Knoebels. Room was very clean, nice bathroom with good pressure, nice TV with lots of choices, and a HVAC that kept the room nice and cool. Bed could have been a little softer, but otherwise a great stay. Breakfast was more than a typical continental breakfast and included scrambled eggs, sausage links, and make your own waffles and pancakes. If you have any kids, they have a small indoor pool that my daughter loved.
I stayed for one night. Check in was super easy and accommodating. Front desk and cleaning staff very friendly and my room was clean, the AC worked well, which is important to me. Location is easy on and off highway and close enough to Knoebels!
My family and I stayed there because of a wedding near by over the weekend. Everyone in the hotel was great. The hotel was clean and very neat. Would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the area!
Comfortable, quiet, clean, and affordable. Close to the highway, yet without the highway noise. Breakfast was typical hotel fare. The hostess was very efficient and accommodating. Always impressed when bill comes in at or around $100.
This was a spur of the moment trip and the service given was wonderful! Could not have asked for more friendly service. And a nice warm pool to relax after a busy day! The rooms were really clean and well cared for.
Every time we have stayed at this facility, we have been treated well, have been pleased with the amenities and the staff, the quality of our visit was enhanced by the reasonable rates. The reason for our stay was physician appointment at nearby Geisinger Hospital.
I usually check the beds when I check into a hotel ...usually looking for bed bugs- I was horrified to check the beds in this hotel and find that the linens were not changed on one of the beds - there was fresh hairs all over the bed and a big semen splotch in the middle of the bed. Took a picture and went to front desk - didn't want to make a scene, but front desk staff did not seem as horrified as I was. Calmly, she just said, I will only charge you $50- for the room. Nauseous at the thought. Otherwise hotel was adequate.
During our visit to the Little League World Series we stayed 2 nights at this Best Western. The staff was super friendly, the room was comfortable and large and the best part was that it was close enough and affordable! Would stay here again for sure!
I made a reservation several weeks in advance, had a reservation number from Best Western in hand but the Reception Clerk didn't show it on his computer and had no room for us. We had to stay at another hotel.
Good value for LLWS time frame. Rooms are clean and maid service is outstanding..Limited dining options in area-but breakfast is provided by Best Western and there is a McDonalds across the road! Perkins is only restaurant close by.
Stayed here to visit Knobels and enjoyed it. Spacious and clean room at a great price. People are friendly. Breakfast is good too. Cons? Pool is small and no workout room. Other than that, no complaints! We will definitely book here again when we visit Knobels and recommend to our friends!
Best Western Danville, Pa was a very nice hotel. Our kids and grandkids were camping near there so we booked this hotel so we could visit them at campground and do activities with them. Fun family attractions near by.
Convenient for where we visiting. The room smelled musty upon entering and the bottom of the shower curtain was moldy and needed to be changed/cleaned. The staff was very nice. Breakfast was fine for what it was.
The staff was extremely friendly. The room were very horrible. Beds were broke down in middle looked like a big u horrible mattresses. The tub took a very long time to drain and has a smell I can't describe. Was on trip with a bus and had to option to change motels or I would have.
This hotel is undergoing renovations right now and it's in a bit of disarray. Our room's bathroom is updated but the rest of the room isn't. Worn out carpeting, old bed, even a table with a bent leg. The hallway carpet is also worn. I'm sure it will be a decent place to go to once the upgrades are all done. By the way, if you use wifi, try to avoid rooms at the very end of the hallways. The signal is nonexistent once you're inside the room. Breakfast was decent but the sitting area is quite limited.
Nice hotel, but it going through a remodel, so hopefully in a few weeks/months it will be complete. We had a room with a very old worn out bed, so not comfortable. The breakfast was decent and served its purpose
Exc. Room. Esp. If you get the jacuzzi room.. Very romantic.. A little pricey for just 1 night..the staff was very nice. Exc breakfast. The only problem i had was that housekeeping was banging on the door at 9am.
The quality and comfort of the room, amenities- breakfast and pool and great and reasonably priced for the area. The hotel is presently undergoing some renovation and updates, but it does not interfere with or impact your stay there
the beds were the most uncomfortable beds weve ever slept in. and we got camping a lot in some weird places. over all not a bad hotel, breakfast was to be expected. felt price should have been lower, if their not gonna update the hotel.. its a bit outdated.
We have been going to Knoebels Grove amusement park for several years and always stay at this Best Western due to it's proximity to the park, friendliness of the staff, free breakfast, and cleanliness. There were some changes since last year. The breakfast used to be from 6-10 and is now 6-9. Also, you can no longer fill up your cooler at the ice machine. We take a hand held cooler with us to the pool at Knoebels. But overall it's a nice place to stay and we will be there next year.
Really had fun at the BW Hotel. Staff was great and very helpful. Will be staying again soon. . I have stayed at several BW Hotels this year and all of them have been great. Everyone of the hotels had great staff and great rooms. TV and internet were great. The breakfast was enjoyable too and the coffee hot the spot.
We went as a big group and some paid the right amount some got their room for free and some paid double. Notified the hotel of the mistake and wasn't corrected. Pretty sad a hotel of this caliber can't even get their billing issues strait and own up to their mistakes. Way too many headaches when there was no need to be
The biggest issue was the quality of the beds. My family was not able to sleep during our stay because of the lack of the support that the beds provided. I would not recommend this location for any one planning a long trip on the road.
We have only been here a coupe of hours but here is my initial review: Front desk customer service is amazing! Our room is clean even though I despise carpeted rooms. There is no fridge or microwave in our room. There is no way to close privacy curtains. The tv channel guide is totally inaccurate . The provided telephone doesn't work. I will update my review as we are here for a couple of days.
More like a Best Western minus instead of plus. Stained and torn carpets, wallpaper coming off the walls, no microwave, no refrigerator and uncomfortable bed. I travel and stay in hotels seven days a week and this one is not up to the standards of a Best Western Plus.
We come up every year to go to Knoebels and always stay here. Never had a problem. Comfy bed and not too far from Amusement Park. Decent selection of breakfast items and near several restaurants for dinner. ( We ALWAYS end up at Friendlys. )
When we walked into the room it immediately smelt like cigarette smoke. We told the front desk and he told us that he could give us a little spray bottle to fix the issue. It didn't do anything. It is a very out dated place.
Greeted by nice and friendly staff. Very nice to talked to. Gave us a discounted price we saw online. Room was nice and clean. Close to gas stations, highway and a 5 minute drive from Danville. Bed was very comfy. Breakfast was not something to die for. Eggs were edible. Sausage was not the best. Waffles were good. Pool looked clean.
In spite of reservation problems we were upgraded and the stay was quiet and without any complications. The staff is pleasant and approachable and we would recommend staying here, especially if one has a dog.
It's a passable hotel. We have stayed here many times. The only reason my family stays here is because they allow pets. The hotel is barely 4 years old. Although it is clean, the rooms look rather worn.
We arrived later last night than I would have preferred. There was only one room left and it was a suite. Although the room was above our budget, the front desk clerk worked with me to arrange a payment that fit into our budget. She was a true savior! The room was immaculate! The bed was firm and extremely comfortable. The hotel was quiet, breakfast was really, really good. Oh and don't get me started on the shower! I didn't want to come out! Although I do not usually stay at a Best Western, I will definitely stay again!
This place was just fine. No complaints. Staff? extra friendly. The only flaw was that the toilet ran on an don every time. I had to take the lid off to fix it. I am sure they would have come and fixed it, but, I didn't tell them until I was leaving. Not a big deal at ALL. Otherwise? a very good value.
This hotel used to be run well. I have stayed there on MANY occasions. I was very disappointed this time. housekeeping does NOTHING. beds were left disheveled. room left un-vacuumed and dirty. grease left on tub from last guest. In talking to people at this hotel I find out that the cause is NOT the housekeeping staff, but management policy. I have photos of all this and they speak a thousand words. They scream, nobody cares about your room once you pay. management is trying to make money employing substandard practices. avoid this hotel until the management changes. I am a Diamond Best Western member and this is NOT the quality I have come to expect from Best Western.
For this review I will say I am only commenting on my room, #102. I never went in the front entrance, our room was on the side so I went in and out of that door. Hubby did the registering. So I never saw the breakfast area or check in. Our room wasn't bad but the beds were horrible. They definitely could replace the mattresses. It was pretty clean although I wouldn't stay anywhere without my Clorox wipes giving everything a go over just to make me feel better! There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms and I think in 2017 they could upgrade to that for what they are charging. They also need to get rid of the wallpaper, it's very dirty and looks like mold around he top in the bathroom but the closer I looked it seemed as if maybe they had removed an order or something but it was nasty looking. Again, I think housekeeping does a very good job there and it was appreciated. The price is ridiculous for what I consider a two or three star hotel. $137/night, granted it was a holiday weekend but the price for the next weekend? Over $200 per night! This isn't the Ritz, people!!! It shouldn't be $80/night but $200? That's price gouging to me and aggravating. If you feel you can charge over $100 per night then upgrade and make it worth it for the traveler.
A tree fell on my house in Northumberland . So i needed to find a place to stay that aloud Pets. I went across to the Super 8 by mistake and the girl there was very rude there. When we got to the best western the girl working the desk was very nice .
This BW was a very nice hotel. It was clean and had very comfortable beds. My only issue is that it did not have a refrigerator in the room. I found out at check out that a refrigerator was available for an additional $10.00
This hotel was OK for one night. The building is very outdated and has thin walls. Double check accessibility if you are traveling with someone that is in a wheelchair. The staff needed to be more aware of the area around them. We tried asking for places to eat and they couldn't recommend anything.
First thing you'll find is a sagging bed. Turned the heat up to take the chill off of the room. Things were looking up until the heater shut off. It emitted a loud 'crying' sound. Knew then that a good night's sleep wasn't going to happen. Was able to check out with no charge. Front desk was very understanding. p.s. Things were clean, just very old
I was pleasantly surprised by both the quality of the room and the friendliness of the staff in Danville. The exterior of the hotel was a bit outdated, and having never visited the area before, I was unsure what to expect on the inside. As I said, the room, check in process, and breakfast were all a very pleasant surprise!
The comfort of the bed was terrible! Brought the problem to support staff, but only apologized for the discomfort. It didn't appear she was going to have anyone look into the issue. If you don't have a refrigerator in your room, it costs extra! Parents with infants, be sure to bring your own pack n play fir your child to sleep in
BW Regency Inn 360 Eastgate Dr. Danville, Illinois 04/07/17 ALWAYS enjoy my stay here for my job. Pepper & Maly made my day by holding the hot breakfast for me as I was running late. This sort of kindness it much appreciated for someone who travels away from home all week! Very nice rooms, comfortable beds, pool, right off the interstate too. I highly recommend this fine place.
This is a great location to base your college visits and tours in the area. You have 30 minute or less access to Bloomsburg, Bucknell, Susquehanna, and a even Mansfield. The hotel breakfast is well presented and the facilities include a pool for relaxation. Family style retaurants are less than 5 minutes away. Easy on and off the highway
Best Western Danville was a great place to stay for the weekend. It was a great value for the price. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. The indoor pool area was clean and was comfortable in temperature. The breakfast selection was wonderful and the atmosphere friendly. I would stay here again when in the area.
We were in the area and stayed for 3 nights. Great accommodations and a very comfortable bed. Very clean and organized. The staff makes you feel at home. They do what ever it takes to make sure you are happy. I have stayed in many Best Western hotels and this is among the best. I think the staff makes it great. Nice breakfast with a variety of choices.
The toiled had a dried stain that should have been removed with a simple brush cleaning. Bathroom walls mildewed at ceilings. The breakfast was bad. All cheese melted out of the omelettes due to overheating. Had to ask for them to refill sausage. Completely out of orange juice, ran out of apple juice and had to find someone to refill it. Apples were so mealy a pig would have passed them up. I am a regular at Best Western and this experience was highly out of the ordinary for them. I have always been very pleased at BW. Not this time.
The motel is conveniently located just off the Danville exit of I-80. We selected this motel due to location, price and they permit small pets. Rooms are well appointed, and clean. Staff is very attentive. Breakfast works well. Indoor pool and small workout room. But the surprise was the quality and proximity of fine dining in Danville. Prices are very reasonable. Just a couple of miles down the same road brings us to some great pubs in a charming small town. We often travel between our home in Connecticut and Pittsburgh and will make this a destination midway stopover from now on.
My property of choice is Best Western and I have always been pleased with this choice until now. The main reason for my negative review was the unfriendly attitude of the desk clerk upon my arrival. And this was after standing and waiting for someone to come to the desk for 15 minutes. Also no first floor room available (which may be understandable) and there is no elevator at this motel. Needles to say anyone with medical issues is at a clear disadvantage. The motel itself was slightly under par compared to other BW sites but the room was clean which was important. I doubt that I will stay at the Danville BW in the future.
Most of the employees couldn't be bothered with straightening out THEIR errors with our reservations. Only Jamie & Tim seemed to care and did all they could to help. The hotel room had no sheets, towels, ice bucket, and pillows on the floor when we arrived. One employee was smoking "funny stuff" in the car and then got out of the car and went inside to work. Maybe that's why our room didn't have what it should have. The Gen. Manager & front desk manager were rude! We've been going to the Danville Best Western for 4 years and since Michele Fisher left, we have had major issues with this location. Doesn't matter if you confirm your reservations or not, you won't get the room type that you paid for !
Nice hotel for the money. Hampton Inn next door is a lot more money and their internet is terrible. Room was large with 2 TV's Stay here when I go to Geisinger Medical Center for business. Close to Interstate 80
Wonderful staff qreat location Family went to knobels for the weekend, hotel was about 20 minutes away very convienant. We had a nice stay Kids enjoyed the pool,Breakfast was good.Staff was very helpful with directions.I would stay here again
This is a great place to stay. Clean and they feed you too. lol The beds could be updated but at least you will not be afraid of taking anything away except a night sleep. It may not be the best, Best Western because of the bed but it beats a couple of other hotels and motels I could name (but won't) and they do have good coffee. Yum!!
The first room we were given was on the third floor. Opened the door and did a 180 out of the room smoke stink from cigarettes. the second room was on the second floor room 222 no smell. The mattresses' were at least 8 years old sagging in the center and torn down the side of the mattress, you could see the inside of the mattress springs foam, yuck, we told the management they gave us 300 extra points. WOW ! Shower drain plugged water took 20 min to empty. Sleep in another town off 80.
The room was very clean and well maintained for are visit. Cassie cleaned are room and found my bracelet charm in the room and had it waiting for my on my night stand. I was very surprised to ever see it again. THANK YOU so such for a wonderful stay!!!!!........????
We were here for 3 nights. The room was clean and big (we had the king suite). Plenty of room for two adults, a toddler and an infant. My toddler loved the pool, I wished the water wasn't so cloudy. The breakfast was decent but the breakfast area was TIGHT. I found it odd that the main doors to the hotel were not automatic...not fun with suitcases, kids and an infant carrier. Overall, a decent stay and we would stay again.
The best Western is a very nice hotel in Danville, PA. The accommodations are good. This is a quiet hotel and very clean hotel. I have never had any problems during my stays. The rooms are spacious. It is a convenient location with easy access.
Thought they everything in order when we got to the hotel wrong room NO king bed moved us to room with a key open the door people still in the room. Not Good.then gave me another room with king with a door to next room which I told them from the start no room like this.with this door joining the next room 1;00 A.M. PEOPLE IN NEXT ROOM were LOUND this trip was a mess.
not very good at all air was stuffy and a/c was so dirty i cleaned it partly my self so we had some air in the room to sleep couse windows didnt open so had to deal with warm air stail air dirty air in room
We were very pleased with our stay. Very clean rooms, great breakfast, nice indoor pool, helpful staff, great proximity to Knoebel's. Price was very reasonable and it made the trip that much more pleasant to not have to drive back home after the park.
The outside of the hotel was well kept. The room was too expensive, but I really wanted access to my room from the inside instead of like a Red Roof Inn, etc. This was a spur of the moment decision to stay in Danville. The toilet needed to be cleaned - MUCH BETTER than it was. The room was HUGE! Still too expensive. But I felt safe - which is important to me.
This hotel is slowly falling apart. The hotel had limited rooms available even though only a few cars were in the parking lot and the room linens were not so clean. But this was not the deal breaker. I had called two days prior to our departure to make sure the pool was up in running due to another blog I had read stating that the pool was closed. The night of check in we went to use the pool but the pool security pad was not working. I suspect that management had ulterior motives not to use the pool since it appeared it had not been maintained and the water was cloudy. We were stone walled by management giving us excuses from, the manager (Kelly) had the only key, the manager was an hour away, it was the mangers day off, no one could get in touch with her, and there was no manual key on the premises, how absurd. The young man at the desk was very nice but we could tell he was told to put on a show for us and hopefully we would get tired of waiting and go away. We went away alright, we checked out of Best Western Danville Inn and check into the Hampton Inn Danville right next door and had a wonderful stay with a clean room, refrigerator, friendly staff, delicious hot and cold breakfast, and a working pool.
Nice place to stay. Pool was not too big and just right for little kids. The breakfast was hot or cold which ever you wanted. Nice variety. I thought the beds were good. Clean rooms with nice bathroom.
I have stayed at this Hotel a few times now specifically when competing at a dog show. They have been very pet friendly and I have not had any issues or problems. Relatively quiet, staff is always friendly and helpful.
This hotel does not have a cleaning staff that actually works. Throughout our 3 night stay our room was never cleaned. The staff did not vacuum, nor empty our trash, nor take our dirty towels and give us clean towels. We complained to the front desk who advised the staff was new. Not Acceptable.
The room was clean. The TV's were flat screen but we booked a king suite and there was no microwave and we were "lucky" to get a mini-frig. The hotel is trying but it's still about an 80% hotel. The carpet was dirty and the bathroom wallpaper was peeling and the shower curtain rod was rusty. The staff was great but there was only so much they could do. The person checking out in front of me got money back on her rooms and extra points and a Visa gift card. Obviously there were issues. The only plus was the price at $89. a night. We will not return.
Spent 2 nights on our trip to Knoebels Amusement Park. Room was typical and comfortable. Would have been nice to have a refrigerator. Not a lot of places to eat nearby. Amusement park was close (20 minutes).
When on a tight budget, this Hotel gives you good value. The evening clerk was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast area is somewhat small for very busy nights, but we didn't go hungry! We would stay there again.
Never stay anywhere else. Good location, easy to get anywhere I want to go in the area and just a quality hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful, check in and out is a breeze and pretty decent continental breakfast.
I have been wanting to write a review since my stay with best western this past weekend with my family but haven't found the time with work until now due to I am looking into another hotel for in 2 weeks when I bring my family to knobels again & one thing I can say is I will never chose best western the room there was filthy I found bugs in our room I was furious I tried calling down to front desk numerous times & received no answer finally I seen a housekeeper in the hall way who was actually polite and asked how was my stay & I explained to her my situation & how furious I was & asked her where could I find the manager & she replied that she could contact her manager for me she got on a walky & tried to get her superiorvisor & received no response back the whole hotel was out of order & so unorganized the only thing that made my family stay was this poor housekeeper Breanna came in to our room & scrubbed our entire room that she must have been in the room for at least an hr redoing our room for my family & I brought us up new blankets & sheets if it wasn't for this women we would have left the following morning when I went to bring the situation up who ever was at the front desk completely ignored me & as we were leaving I stopped the supervisor for housekeeping or at least that's what I was told she was she looked like she was dressed for nursing I tried to let her no about her housekeeper & that if it wasn't for her we would have left & I felt like I got really no response from her as well I felt like I was totally ignored about the situation I would not recommend this hotel to anyone especially if your looking for a clean friendly family hotel where you will recieve your moneys worth the only thing I received for my money was the $30 tip I gave for women who redid our room very dissapointed not only in this hotel but the management staff
The room had a foul odor, I suspect pet accidents that hadn't been cleaned up properly. The shower, bathroom fan, and towel rack did not work properly. There were no washcloths in bathroom. The bacon at the breakfast bar was served undercooked, pool was over chlorinated. Room was not ready at 4:00 p.m. even though reservation made a day or two in advance, and check in time was stated at 3!
While at Knoebels, stayed one night and was fine. Clean, decent sized room. Breakfast was ok in the morning. Apparently, there was a pool, but we didn't use it. Close access to I-80, which was important to us.
The facilities was easy to fine. It is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Our occasion was a family stay for a visit to Knobels amusement park. A little disappoint that the pool was not available.
Middle of the road hotel. Close to Knoebels and Golfing. Service good and rooms were clean, but hotel is pet friendly which I am not. Just prefer not to hear small dogs yelping on the floor. Pizza Delivery late nite from a few locations is available to the hotel.
We stayed at this hotel due to it's location. We had stayed at another franchise during this trip, which was much nicer, and less expensive. The main deficiency was that the air in the rooms were stale and offensive smelling. That, and the beds were worn out. They sagged so much that we had to use one bed each, as we both rolled into the sagging center of the bed. The property suffers unduly from this, as the rest of our experience was fine.
This was the perfect place to stay for our needs, it was clean, the staff was great, and the breakfast was very good. It is only 12 miles from Knoebels Amusement Park which was perfect.I would recommend it to anyone going to the area.
The staff are nice, the rooms are clean, and it is fairly modern. We got a Jacuzzi room, which was very nice, at a decent price. These rooms are hard to find. The beds were also comfortable, which is often an issue in hotels.
My family and I stayed at this property in April 2016 while a family member was having surgery at Geisinger Medical Center. The staff in general were rude and unhelpful. The breakfast offering was pitiful, the only thing edible were the waffles and most of the time it wasn't well stocked. The beds in the rooms we stayed in were extremely uncomfortable. Cleanliness was lacking in every area, particularly the bathrooms. Every piece of equipment in the fitness center was broken and apprently had been for some time according to the staff member my husband spoke to about it. In addition there was a billing problem I encountered in which I was billed over $400 twice and it still has not been resolved as of the end of June. While this property is close to the medical center I would avoid it and choose another option in the area.
When we ever look to go to knobles this is our first choice in the hotels in the area. This is the second time we have stayed and look forward to coming back. It is up off the highway so very quite. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. There was a problem with the ice machine on the third floor and the one on the first was empty. The waffles at breakfast were good but the eggs were very dry. Very good coffee served in the lobby and kids like the hot coco.
we stayed at best western hotel was very nice looking and clean the breakfast is ok with options staff is very nice the price is good compared to other places the pool was very nice they have a fitness room aswell I was very impressed with the high speed internet they also have a computer there you can use
My family loves this hotel when we got in. It is clean, tidy. The staffs are helpful and friendly. It is a pets welcome hotel that does not smell "pet" in the room at all. We definitely will stop by again next time when we go to New York.
The room was very clean and well maintained for are visit. Cassie cleaned are room and found my bracelet charm in the room and had it waiting for my on my night stand. I was very surprised to ever see it again. THANK YOU so such for a wonderful stay!!!!!........????
We had booked and received confirmation for 2 rooms, only to find when we checked in that Best Western had only given us one room. This was simply shocking - but Susan at the front desk did a fantastic job to give us the 2 rooms required. The staff are excellent-friendly and helpful. The rooms were functional and clean. The Suite was an overstatement - nice room, not a suite! The gym was not up to par - needs to have better maintenance. The free breakfast (6-10am) was below average when compared to other such offerings. A reasonable place to stay, but wouldn't tarry for long!
The room was actually pretty nice and cozy. My only complaint was that I had a dispute with my bill and it was never resolved. The staff at check out said management would call me, but they never did. I called three times and either left messages or was told that management would call me... never did. I talked to the customer service number that corporate provided, and still not resolved. I finally just gave up. Luckily, it wasn't a major bill dispute--a pet fee that I was told three times would be different than what I was charged. So after awhile, it was no longer worth the hassle of fighting it.
We didn't have a very good stay at this location. After a long day of travel, we arrived hoping to relax in the pool. When we arrived, the attendant at the counter was not very apologetic or offered any discount. She just indicated the night before, some of the guests had kids who decided not to go to the bathroom, but instead used the pool. As we walked to the pool we noticed the carpets were dirty. Several guests had dogs going in and out of the hotel. The room smelled so musty, I went to a local grocery store and bought Fabreeze and air freshener. Very disappointing stay.
My husband and I went to our daughters college graduation and decided to stay at this hotel. We checked in pretty late on Friday May 6th and we were greeted by a very kind gentleman at the front desk who made sure all of our questions were answered. Great room for the price. Definately will stay here again!!
If your looking for an excellent place to stay without all the frills, this was the perfect stop. Clean comfortable rooms at a reasonable price. The hot breakfast was an added value and very satisfying.
This is a BW Plus hotel with GREAT service, lovely setting, great property. Very caring check in since we arrived quite early and they made sure our room was ready for us when we arrived. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
Not sure the other reviews say negative stuff. I have stayed here a couple times in the last 2 years all all I see is its getting better each time. They give out goodie bags to reward members the pool is crystal clear, breakfast has a great deal to pick from, the staff is so friendly, I sat at breakfast and the manager came over gave me a news paper and poured more coffee in my cup. Above and beyond. Keep up the great work
Going from Detroit to New York city, we started around 3:30 pm in Canton, MI and reached hotel by around 11:30 pm. Had a nice overnight stay, before heading to New York to reach Manhattan by around 11:00 am. Nice. clean, convenient and safe hotel.
We stay at this hotel three times this past year while visiting my husbands brother who has been ill. The hotel has friendly personnel and the rooms were clean we would stay there again anytime we come back to the Danville area.
We enjoyed a king suite with 2 rooms and 2 TV's for less than a double room cost.Housekeeper was audibly disgruntled when some guests requested all new sheets blankets and bedspreads midafternoon. She was steamed. Also there was a young lady apparently camped out on the couch in the lobby for hours Fri afternoon. Not welcoming things. Place was busy, due to stae PIAA swimming, nice bunch of kids, very quiet clientele. Room was clean and facility located conveniently.
Nice, but room smelled like smoke. Staff was friendly. Would have liked a mini fridge in the room and ice machine was not available on the second floor. Elevator was slow. not much in the way of restaurants in the area.
Worst hotel experience of my lift. We are campers who do not require amenities and state of the art anything. BUT we do expect clean. There was black mold under the window sill in room 204 which was exposed by the peeling wallpaper. Not sure if the hotel owns a vacuum. The bed underskirt was dirty. Lamp broken. Shower rod rusty. The smell was awful. We slept with windows open because of smell, and we were cold. I did aske the staff for an extra blanket which they did bring.
My housekeeper Tonya Johnson cleaned my room very well and was also very friendly and made sure i had everything i need for my stay. in would suggest this Best Western to anyone that wants a nice room at a good rate with great staff
My boyfriend and I made a trip from Indiana out to PA because his grandfather is very ill and in the hospital. We made reservations for this Best Western for 3 nights. We arrived last night and things were fine. We got up this morning, went out and ran some errands, came back to the hotel at 12:00pm to find out our door/keys wouldn't work. They reset our keys probably 3 times and then the front desk clerk finally came up to try the housekeeping key. It did not work either so she says "I'll have to call maintenance but I'll be sure to get it taken care of." We needed to go back out to the hospital so we gave her our number and told her to have someone call us when it was taken care of. We return to the hotel around 7:00pm (still no phone call) and there's a different person working the front desk. She is unaware that all of our belongings are locked in this room and we've been waiting 7 hours for this to be resolved after an exhausting day at the hospital with a sick loved one. NOW she calls maintenance guy and he proceeds to say he won't be here till 11:00pm because he has to get a ride with his girlfriend. So she calls the back-up maintenance person who also happens to be the hotel manager and he says to just try the "maintenance key" to the same affect as the housekeeping key and doesn't understand that it's the actual mechanism. So we are having to travel to CVS to purchase contact lens solution, phone chargers, tooth brushes, etc because they didn't get this taken care of sooner. Still don't have our things and still waiting for them to actually do something. The staff has been nothing but unprofessional here (except for the second desk clerk who had no idea what was going on, she was at least trying and calling people for us) and I am beyond upset.
Stayed at this hotel due to a test being done early the following morning at a hospital in the area. Tub would not drain when fiance' showered so I was unable to shower...upon check out we were asked about our stay...we explained the situation and were treated as though it were our fault the tub didn't drain and I was unable to shower.
We enjoyed our room, especially for the price, but we were served moldy bread and cold sausage/eggs at breakfast. Staff was very friendly and once they noticed the moldy bread my husband put aside, they addressed it immediately and put out new bread. Would have have been nice if they had not had moldy bread in the first place. Not sure why the hot dish wasn't hot. Not a very appetizing breakfast.
Stopped off of I-80 for an overnight. Nice room on the 3rd floor with a view of the hills. Roomy bathroom with a great showerhead-nothing wimpy like you get at some other places. Hot or cold breakfast in the morning with good selections. Very good value. Saturday desk staff gave great directions to a local meal. sunday desk staff wasn't able to print out a receipt, but it was on my e-mail by the time we got home. Nice visit overall.
Got to the hotel and I have 10 months old twins that don't even walk and we reserved a king size bed with jacuzzi and the receptionist told us that no kids are allowed in those rooms, even though we have been before with our kids and was no issue. Now we are in the parking lot looking for a hotel that allowed my family to stay in plus the manager very incompetent that didn't even bother to give us a fare arrangement to keep us happy at least. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!
The staff is awesome nice and always there to help you, Breakfast was great . A Great Stay Hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious keep up the great job I had a king suite and the family had plenty of room
Not a bad place to stay for the cost. I will most likely stay here again since this is close to my work area. The breakfast was good, but I did not see no one refill the items empty and this was 8:00 am. and I was in this area for approx. 45 mims
Great rates if you have a loved one at Geisinger Hospital. Nice free breakfast. Newspapers available daily. Staff courteous and helpful. Rooms are clean. Coffee in room. No refrigeration in room. Pool available. Ice machines.
Easy access, comfortable bed, very good for the money we spent. The carpet needs updating it had quite a few stains. Very good staff. I would definitely stay here again. Free breakfast, pool and exercise room. If you stay on the 3rd floor there is no vending machine you have to go to the 2nd floor which makes it a little inconvenient. Other than that it is a great stay.
Great Value for Dollars spent. Hotel Staff was accommodating, Facilities were clean. Amenities were nice. Location is right off the freeway. Danville is very close. If you are looking for an inexpensive way to stay near Danville this is the hotel for you. The staff fulfilled all requests. The facilities are clean and maintained. Could not have had a better experience.
My wife and I brought our two boys here so they could swim. The indoor pool made us decide on this location. Very clean rooms and a spotless lobby. Staff were very friendly and helpful with all our boys questions. Already planning our next visit.
The hotel was very nice, clean, updated, well maintained, and the staff was very helpful. Stayed here on our way to NYC and found the hotel to be so nice we decided to stay there again on the way back. They even put us in the same room. I did have a problem with the hair dryer, but they replaced it right away. The beds were very comfortable and I had no problem falling asleep quickly. Whenever we take a trip to NY we will stop here as it is the halfway point.
Clean, inviting, comfortable rooms. Adequate, mixed options for breakfast. Helpful staff. Liked the free newspapers and ice. More functioning ice machines would have been even better (only the one on the first floor worked!)
I found the Hotel up to our expectations. We had no need to interact with the help as everything was as expected. We will stay here again on our trips to the East coast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going across route I 80 in Pa.
We have found this hotel to be reliable each time we stay. We arrived a little early and were given a room without waiting. It turned out to be beautiful, clean and quiet. We like the ease of registration here and also the close proximity to our family in the area. This is our go-to place whenever we are in the Danville area.
The hotel was clean and people very helpful and friendly. We we were driving back home from RI to WA. So it was nice after driving all day to stop at a clean hotel with nice people. The hot breakfast was good. The only thing i would l say needs to happen is a sign telling people where the cutlery is located. Several of us wandered around trying to find it. It is located by the juice on the wall. Great idea to have dispensers but you don't realize that is what they are.
It seems that more than any other chain, the quality of a Best Western can be drastically different from hotel to hotel. Unfortunately, this Danville location represents the lower tier version which started off poor right away. Upon checking around 1 am, there was no desk clerk to be found. After ringing the bell and then even calling the hotel phone number while waiting at the desk, 10 mins later the guy comes out. Keep in mind front doors of the hotel were not locked at 1 am with no front desk attendant so this gives you an idea of security. Otherwise all the other problems of the bad best westerns. For example, dirty bathroom, crumbs on table, noisy, chaotic and filthy breakfast area. Look elsewhere as the rates here are just too high to possibly justify the low to mediocre quality of this budget hotel.
we stayed here on a trip back to RI for a family wedding. The room was clean and comfortable, but nothing special, and really not worth the price difference from the Red Roof Inn across the street. No complaints at all, just felt it wasn't the best value in the area. I don't mind paying more money if the room is spacious and well appointed, but I just didn't feel the extra amenities were there to justify the room charge.
the staff was friendly and helpful. they were efficient and very prompt. the room was simple but comfortable. could have used more amenities in the bathroom. the bed was fine. we also had a pull out sofa, which was more comfortable than expected. overall we were very satisfied with the accommodations, and it provided a great value!!
I guess we hit the wrong day - no face washcloths or towels, 1 little bar of soap, no coffee in the morning and no hot complimentary breakfast - no one at the front desk in the morning to talk to - so we left and will not return.
Inter net slow and kept getting kicked off. Furniture is worn and needs replaced. The hotel was very quick to bring Fridge to the room. Check in Check out was fine. The pool area could use a little cleaning.
Hotel staff were courteous and helpful, room and facilities clean, great place to rest after a day at the amusement park with grandchildren. The continental breakfast could stand some improvement, otherwise I would stay again.
