After a long day of driving and seeing Canyon De Chelly, we stayed one night here. Comfortable room with fridge and microwave. We had dinner at the on site restaurant and it was tasty. Coffee in the morning and a cookie (or two) is also a nice touch.
It was very clean. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The bed was very comfortable and clean. Hubby liked the bathroom layout. It was a very quiet location. The restaurant on the premises was very fast with excellent food
Standard motel room. Clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast is not included. Restaurant closes at 6pm on weekends. Dennys down the road is a good option. Pool was closed when we were there. Water from the faucets was often very yellow. Good location if going to Canyon de Chelly.
Staff was very pleasant, but the water was brown; not sure it was safe to use. Also, the shower floor was dangerously slippery. The room was clean and there is a restaurant next door. That said, there are few hotels to choose from in this area so it was our best choice.
AC set at 80 upon arrival and had to push the buttons 20+ times before finally getting it to work. Carpet had several stains, found two beetles in room, tattered towels. The only happy surprise was coffee and cookies available at checkout. Would NOT recommend.
The hotel is a bit dated but well maintained and comfortable. They managed to fit in some ADA amenities into a very tight space.
There aren't a lot of places to stay overnight and/or eat, but Best Western Canyon De Chelly Inn was pretty good. We were in town to tour Canyon De Chelly and it was only 5 minutes away. When we checked in, our clerk couldn't have been more helpful! The lobby includes a small gift shop, as well as coffee, cookies and small snacks. I guess this makes up for the fact that they don't serve breakfast. Our room was nice and large, but very dark. Also, the bathroom was very small and the toilet quite low. But the room was clean and comfortable, which are the most important things for us. The pool looked quite nice, although we didn't swim while there. What was especially convenient is that the Junction Restaurant shares the same parking lot, so that was a plus and we ate there for both dinner and breakfast.
This Best Western has very dark rooms, which I don't like. However, the staff are very nice, coffee and excellent cookies in reception, the room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. And, there aren't better hotels in Chinle. But what really makes this hotel great is the Junction Restaurant. Nothing like walking over to a really good place to eat and not having to get in your car at the end of a day of touring. Don't miss the blue corn pancakes for breakfast.
Great location in town. Plenty of parking. We had a ground floor room so not sure about elevators for upper floor. Quiet rooms.
The room was very clean and comfortable. And even though it was an exterior entry room and the property is situated on a busy road, the room was very quiet. I read a review once we were checked in where the reviewer stated the hotel did not have potable water. We chose to use bottled water to brush teeth, etc., but I did call the front desk the next morning and asked whether the water was potable. I didn't get a clear answer, was told that sometimes the water turns brown, and I could pick up bottled water. The water was not brown when were there, but out of caution we didn't shower, just bird bathed with bottled water. Since we were leaving I didn't pursue the issue further, but others might want to ask in advance. I didn't book at the Holiday Inn because a reviewer of that hotel said the water was yellow and should not be drunk. So maybe the well issue is common for the area? Also another reviewer talked about stray dogs in the parking lot. There was one dog who seemed to be the property's dog, and he was very friendly and sweet. One last thing…The exterior and grounds of the Holiday Inn and Thunderbird Lodge were far more appealing than the Best Western, but it was so nice to walk across the parking lot to the Junction Restaurant at the Best Western after a long day.
There is No Potable Water available at this hotel. They offer bottled water at check in, but it is still dangerous and unhealthy and dangerous to use the sink and shower as you might inadvertently get some water in your mouth, and get sick. This must be addressed properly by the hotel and Best Western. Also, no breakfast is available as at other Best Western locations without paying. This can easily be addressed with a breakfast voucher for the onsite restaurant.
This is a motel type inn with exterior entry rooms. Two stories with no elevator. Our room on the second floor was clean and quiet. The sink area was separate from shower and toilet. They provided a cloth to clean vehicle windows which was nice. No breakfast provided but free coffee and snacks were available.
Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything seemed very modern, and new. Everything worked properly. The shower head was awesome. I liked that a restaurant was on the premises and that there was coffee and snacks in the lobby.
I work here within the location, and Due to weather condition, i did not want to travel back to home. The roads were snow packed, and the dirt road is not good to travel on at all during this weather condition.
Staff in both the office and restaurant were very friendly and helpful. It was great having a restaurant on premises with a variety of food for everyone. The Navajo fry bread was a favorite. They have take out as well.
Large, clean room. Nice touches - 2 chairs and 2 luggage racks. Negatives - the tub could use refinishing, 1 lamp and the microwave didn't work and the TV quit at 8:00p.m our 2nd night there. We didn't contact the desk as we had other things to keep us busy. The reception desk clerk, Kee, was super nice and helpful. Loved the cookies and popcorn in the lobby. There's not a lot of lodging to choose from in Chinle and this was probably the best of them.
We stayed one night after booking on the app. This is a busy hotel with outdoor doors. There is no elevator & we were put on the second floor which as a pain to lug everything. My tip is to request bottom floor in the notes when booking your room. The indoor pool was closed & the app didn't state that. We were charge $150 a night because we had 3 people in the room. We wouldn't have stayed her if we knew the price -after they charged for 3 people. It was a clean room. The towels were a little dingy probably because they were cream color, not white.
A great hotel if you are visiting the local national parks. Nice room, basic but clean. Staff was helpful and nearby restaurant had a good breakfast selection. Overall the hotel was a good value and we would stay there again.
I stayed here 9/21/23 to 9/22/23. checking in was easy and early which was nice. Room was large and clean. Requested a first floor and got it. Was able to park right in front of room which was nice. When I stayed there was a water problem, and I was told to run the water until it stopped being brown. It took over two hours and still had an off color but that could just be the area. They do not offer breakfast, but they do have snacks in the lobby. Other than the water issue, everything in the room worked, I felt safe and enjoyed my short stay. Would stay there again.
This is a very good hotel to stay. Very clean, neatly designed interiors. very nice front office person. One of the best properties from Best Western. It does not have the breakfast but there is a restaurant in front of the hotel which serves among others very good traditional Navajo menu also
First stay at a Best Western in many years. We typically use the rewards from another hotel group. The value for a simple overnight stay while passing through was good. The best of several hotels in the previous week. The staff at check-in was by far the best interaction of said hotels in the previous week. If going this way again, I'll likely choose this hotel.
Large clean room and staffed by friendly, helpful people. Drinks and cookies available in lobby, including Decaf tea! Room had coffee maker, fridge and microwave and ample suitcase stands. Breakfast not included but good restaurant , reasonably priced on site.
Big changes to Chinle since we were there 40 years ago! This BW Canyon de Chelly Inn is quite nice. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. No free breakfast but we ate at the onsite restaurant for breakfast and dinner - very delicious! Didn't use the pool as it was filled with kids. Overall a very nice hotel. Be aware - lots of construction workers stay here so the parking are can be quite loud in the morning.
This was a great place to recharge and rest after a day in the hot sun at Canyon de Chelly! It was so nice to get back to clean and air conditioned space with a cool indoor pool and heated pool towels!
I spent the last six weeks here for work. It's a great hotel. The rooms are clean. It does not include free breakfast, but there is an excellent restaurant associated with the hotel, Junction restaurant, which serves lots of great foods, including Navajo fry bread, and Navajo tacos. There is free, coffee or tea, pretzels, cookies, or Smartpop cheddar popcorn. The rooms have soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. The rooms have DIRECTV for your entertainment. Of course, you are only about 6 minutes away from Canyon de Chelly, an hour, away from window, rock, and a couple of hours away from Monument Valley or Four Corners monument. Grand Canyon is also only a couple of hours away. The only negative is that if you have a second floor room, there is no elevator. If you have any handicaps, you need to make sure you have a ground floor room. Across the road is the silver coin laundromat, but I believe the Speedway laundromat at the gas station is a little bit cheaper. The restaurant closes early, but there is a Burger King and Denny's in town that close later.
It's conveniently located near the highway (191) and Park entrance. I stayed there for several days in March of this year. It's located within the Navajo reservation and the reservation has been under a lot of stress because of covid. I'm glad to help them in any way that I can by giving their hotel.business. It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. It's also in a very small community with lots of inner locking relationships. The parking is easy and plentiful. They got me the type of room I wanted with no problem. The rooms were clean and nice. The Wi-Fi collection was fine. The room's itself had all the space I needed and a Mini refrigerator and coffee maker which I use. Everything was working just fine and very clean I was impressed with the staff and their willingness to try to help me in any way that it could. For example the junction restaurant is located in front of the hotel and they gave me sage advice about when to use the restaurant, which I listened to. The hotel does not have a hot breakfast like a lot of Best Westerns but they offer some snacks. One needs to read in me hotel amenities page whichever Best Western and really every hotel has a description of what they offer. I think it probably has something to do with the junction restaurant being right in front they have an outstanding breakfast lunch and dinner, all are reasonably priced. The hotel was great, recently priced and made for relaxing three day stay.
This BW doesn't offer BREAKFAST but they don't make it clear on the web. They just mislead you to go to the restaurant there. It doesn't mean we can't pay for it but just this is totally out of our expectation from BW's standard.
The rooms were very good. And the front desk clerks at check in and check out were VERY friendly! The Wi-Fi connection was better than any hotel we stayed at ive the weekend. No breakfast included. But there was was complimentary coffee and sweets in the lobby.
Our reservation was for a king room. We were told our king room had been given away and were offered a small room with 2 double beds. This is obviously an old hotel that has not been updated. Room was dark with very little lighting. The shower was a hand held wirth a handle that was very hard to turn on. The sink dripped and we could never get our aircondioning/heating unit to work right. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
This is an older hotel. Check in was quick, face mask required. They did have some fresh baked cookies for guest. Our room was fine, just a little older building. The Tub faucet was hard to turn and use. They didn't serve any type of breakfast at all. I booked my room with points, 20,000 of them and was still charged over $30 for taxes and fees! That was ridiculous! I know we were there on a Sunday but there was no where to eat in this town. The restaurant on site was closed, Denny's had a sign on the door call in orders only. We did find a Churches Chicken, whose lobby was closed but the drive through was open. It was either that or subway. There was a noisy car with its music turned up so loud it was rattling the windows and shaking the walls. It circle the hotel parking lot three times. The air unit made noise when it kicked on and off. We didn't sleep good. I would not stay here again, Best Western is quickly losing my business.
Not one of the better Best Western hotels in our opinion. Masks are required on Navajo nation land. We had rooms 105 & 107. Parking right in front of the door but not very noisy. Comfortable beds but terrible showers, very difficult to switch from bath to shower. Not certain we would come back to this hotel.
Nice large room with usual amenities. Very clean and decent beds. Fine for an overnight stay on a touring holiday. Receptionist very helpful. There is a large restaurant next door that does good breakfasts but wouldn't recommend it for dinner.
We stayed one night at this motel and it wasn't very cheap considering where you are. The room was dirty and cramped and the pool was out of commission. There was a restaurant on the property but it closed early due to lack of staff. The same was true with about every place in town, a true food desert. Even though the motel was very empty, the clerk put us in a room next to the only other 4 parties in the building who stayed up half the night outside their room doors smoking and carrying on. As for the town of Chinle, just bypass it. Nothing there worth seeing that you can't see in a few hours without having to interact with the town.
Very nice and convenient hotel. Right off 191. Lobby was organized and clean. Rooms were spacious and clean. They have a nice pool and a restaurant (Junction) on premises. Great location to the Canyon.
Hotel is conveniently located where you can access the entrance to Canyon de Chelly National Monument. Although there is a restaurant on the property, breakfast was not available the first day of our stay. The restaurant was to 'open' the following day. It seems to have opened for carry-out. The pool was closed as well. The room served its purpose as a base camp for our stay.
We stayed 2 nights at this hotel in Chinle. For our party of 4 (in one room) we thought it was spacious and clean. We appreciated the table and two chairs plus the fridge. Wifi could have been better. Staff was friendly and all spaces were clean.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and large. The don''t have breakfast but offered fresh coffee and snacks at the check-in office. There is a restaurant in the parking lot that served breakfast, lunch and dinner that was reasonably priced and the food was good.
Well updated rooms and VERY CLEAN! Staff friendly and helpful. Efficient check-in and out. On premises restaurant tasty and lots of good choices for bith veggies and carnivores. Tours of Canyon de Chelly pick up there and very close by. Great visit.
This is a basic Best Western with few amenities, not helped by the fact that the Reservation was still under strict COVID rules unlike the rest of the state. The receptionist was lovely when we checked in but the rooms are dark and uninviting. The only place to eat is the diner in the parking lot where the service was surly and the food very average. We'd booked to stay for two nights but left after one. There is nothing in Chinle apart from the Canyon de Chelly, which is worth a half an hour detour but the hiking trails were closed.
Motel is extremely modest; no breakfast despite website claim. "breakfast" consisted of coffee; bag of pretzels; and cookies. Fortunately, there is a good restaurant in hotel parking lot, Junction Restaurant (good food/prices/service/atmosphere). Motel pool was CLOSED with no explanation. Shower head and handle almost impossible to adjust; felt like they were going to break. Don't stay in Chinle, period; go to Kayenta, barely an hour away; much larger selection of name brand hotel/motels and restaurants.
First off should mention that I have not stayed at a motel in decades. I had low expectations but was very pleasantly surprised. Reservations were easily handled and check in and out were efficient processes. The room was clean and amenities were excellent. Decor and bathroom was a bit dated but the bed was very comfortable. Location is great because of the nearby restaurants in Chinle and only 3 miles from the entrance to Canyon De Chelly.
Our room was very dusty and hadn't been cleaned before we got there. Other than that our room was very comfortable and we slept well. The staff was friendly and courteous. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.
We have experienced very pleasant check-in receptionists (evening and morning as well), which provided us with great information about the area. Small lobby with the shop has been a great addition to this place.
When we initially arrived at the hotel, it looked a little worn on the outside. Any concerns I had were quickly put as ease once I spoke with the very friendly front desk manager and then saw my spacious room. We decided to eat at the Junction Restaurant, and were very impressed. Their Navajo food options were by far the best we have had on the reservation! After talking to some locals the next day, we discovered that it is also considered a great spot by Chinle residents. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone doing a day or two around Canyon de Chelly, especially given its reasonable prices.
Typical Best Western motel with easy parking in the front. The room was spacious and clear. Very convenient location to restaurants and Canyon de Chelly. Deducted one star because the indoor pool was not open despite their website claiming "Indoor pool Heated open between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. year around Pool and Sauna closed for repair. Schedule to re-open on August 18, 2021"
The place is in a great location about 15 minutes from Canyon Del Chilly, about an hour from Window Rock and Code Talker monument and 1.5 hours from the Navajo National Monument, we got there about 8 pm and the Roll away bed was in the room and the staff gave us bottled water, quick check in and out, staff was fantastic.
We stayed for 4 nights visiting the canyon and surrounding areas. The room was spacious, clean and very quiet. Thanks for the cookies and snacks in the lobby : we took some daily for hiking and picnics. Tiny cute gift shop. The restaurant is very good with Navajo food and fast service. I appreciated the flowers in the planters. My only sadness was that the shower water was never very hot. But in the desert it's better to take shorter showers anyway ! Close to the grocery store, too. We had a great time .
Originally had booked a night at the Holiday Inn, but since our private tour of Canyon de Chelly planned to meet at the Best Western, I changed our booking. The motel is in good shape, the stay was quiet, and the beds were comfortable. The front desk was very accommodating and helpful. Only real "complaint" was that the adjoining Junction Restaurant had very limited hours during our visit. The Navajo Nation is still recovering from the long closure due to Covid-19. On a Sunday, the restaurant closed at ~2PM so we needed to make another plan for dinner. All in all, I'd definitely stay with the Best Western again.
I pick this hotel for the bed type 2 queens. Restroom felt squishy for a handicapped room. Room also smelt of mold and the internet was horrible. I felt unsafe as men sat outside there rooms friends and beer.
The staff and the hotel are above par. Was an excellent stay and the value is spot on. The rooms were clean. The staff was very helpful upon arrival and departure. The onsite restaurant staff and food are great as well.
Well maintained property with adjoining restaurant. Rooms large, well stocked with needed items and refrigerator and microwave. Beds quite comfy. . Electriicty went out for ~3 hrs one night. GREAT location if visiting Canyon de Chelly.
This location is under a 57 hour lockdown on weekends--so be aware of this and prepare accordingly. Restaurants, grocery stores, and general businesses are required to be closed during these times. With this knowledge, your stay at this BW still can be enjoyed because the staff is ready to be of help. This is a very clean hotel and the staff have taken precautionary measures to protect you as well as themselves.
I cannot remember her name, however, she works the 2pm - 10pm shift & drives a lifted Chevy Pick-Up. I arrived, the night of, Sat. 03 Oct. 2020 after a 14 hr. trek from Dallas, TX & asked if, at least, a gas station was still open to grab a quick bite & was informed, the Navajo Reservation had a curfew because of COVID-19 & NOTHING WOULD RE-OPEN UNTIL MONDAY, which my travel department didn't inform me of. I would have had to go from Sat. night til Mon. morning without food, if not for the generosity of this young lady. After discovering I had no food, she offered me her takeout meal she grabbed on her way to work but did not have time to eat because her day was so busy. I declined, however, she insisted because she was getting off soon & had plenty of food at home but, I had none for the next 36hrs. As such, I accepted & was able to stretch it til Mon. She has my undying gratitude & should be recognized / rewarded by B.W. as a VALUED EMPLOYEE & LIFE SAVER!!! SHE MAKES B.W. Great!!!
The BW was clean, the customer service was excellent. Check in was easy. It was 5 minutes away from Canyon de Chelly. They took precautions by keeping everything as clean as possible although they ran out of hand sanitizer
Warm welcome and we were given a Welcome Bag and a coupon for 10% off breakfast at the Junction next door. Our room was adequate and the bathroom seemed cramped. Facility was clean and everything worked.
Quick check-in. Friendly service. Warm cookies. No breakfast but a 15% off coupon for breakfast at restaurant that is literally steps from all rooms. On reservation land so no alcohol at restaurants or stores. Very convenient to Canyon de Chelly. Was met at the hotel lobby by our driver/guide for the canyon floor tour.
Very friendly greeting when checking in. Warm cookie. Room was fine. Very good price. Breakfast not included but gave out 15% discount for breakfast to Junction restaurant which is on the property. Canyon tour met us there.
Room was large with two chairs. Cable TV and fridge and microwave. Lot of plugs. Good heater to keep room warm. Service from helpful. No breakfast at hotel, just 10% off at the restaurant next door - probably owned by hotel. Room was quiet, bed was comfortable but pillows were not comfortable.
Took my daughter, grand daughter and friend for an overnight stay and had a wonderful experience. Staff was friendly and helpful, resturant was good and rooms were fine. I will stay here again when travelling in the Navajo Nation. Highly recommend this Inn.
A rather "perfunctory" greeting upon arrival. The room was spacious and included a table with two chairs, king size bed, dresser, a small fridge without freezer compartment, a large microwave and a large, clean bathroom. The trash truck arrived at 6 am and banged the metal container around. Wake-up call! The hotel price does not include breakfast, but the BW owned Junction restaurant next door is available. The hotel adds 23% worth of taxes and surcharges to the room's base price due to Navajo Nation and Chinle city regulations.
We could not reserve a spot for our small RV in any park near Chinle so we reserved this hotel. It was a good move, We booked a non-smoking king room for $142/ night including all taxes. Quiet at night. Junction restaurant across the parking lot was convenient. No problem parking our 23 ft long RV. Various Canyon tours will pick you up at front desk area. WE did a Beauty Way Jeep Tour from here. A great value considering the limited options.
this site has the worst front desk. (gilberta) ruined the whole night. the homeless man that was wandering around the premises that was not escorted off the premises when I call the front desk made me feel not safe at all. I could have called the police but was hoping that staff would take care of it. NOPE
They are nice rooms, BUT no free breakfast, lobby closes early. The lodgers tax is outrageous, 20.5% The room was $79 a night but after the taxes, it came to $98. The gift shop of Navajo gifts are expensive.
Easy access from hwy and getting into canyon. Staff friendly, great free cookies at reception, and coffee. No free breakfast but restaurant on site very good. Wifi tv good. Guides will pick up at hotel. Definitely a good stop in town.
Nice spacious rooms, clean. Quick check-in, good location near the Canyon. No breakfast included ( :-( but a 10% off voucher for the restaurant next door. Easy to find right off the highway. Called the tour co. and they met us right at the inn.
We were traveling from the Grand Canyon to Canyon de Chelly to Sedona and this hotel provided the perfect overnight stay. Very unpretentious, but rooms were spacious and clean, parking was easy and the adjacent restaurant had a little bit of everything on the menu.
My husband and I stayed here for one night after taking a jeep tour of Canyon de Chelly. Our room on the second floor was clean, quiet, comfortable, and reasonably priced. We had dinner and breakfast at the Junction restaurant onsite, which we enjoyed. The staff at both the motel and restaurant were all friendly and customer service oriented. We would stay here again if we return to the canyon.
We spent a couple of nights here and loved the shower stall. Hate tubs and this was just a stall which was excellent. Loved the low flow toilets! Wifi was excellent. We have stayed at other more expensive motels which didn't have good Wifi. It had a restaurant next door and the food and service were excellent. We signed up for a tour for Canyon De Chelly and it was nice that the tour drivers met us there at the Inn. I would highly recommend a private tour. All in all it was a great vacation staying at this Best Western. And yes, hope to stay here again in the future.
We were a group of 5 who drove our Jeeps to Chinle for touring and hiking in the Canyon de Chelly. The Best Western was the perfect place for our group to stay, the rooms were clean and well taken care of, and the staff was great. They put our rooms next to each other, which was nice, and greeted me by name when I walked in the door, which was impressive! I highly recommend the Best Western if you are planning a trip to Canyon de Chelly. Our only issue was that the staff parked their cars in front of our rooms after we left for the day, making it hard to unload and load the Jeeps in very cold weather. Hopefully they will rethink that practice, but it was a great stay!
Room 229 - is upstairs (no elevators) and AWAY from any road noise. Very quiet. A newly remodeled room (new carpet and new furniture). Very spacious, clean. We liked that the heat/air unit was in the wall AWAY from under the window like most hotels. On the opposite side. Great water pressure, shower had doors vs a curtain.
This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Canyon de Chelly. It is just outside the park's entrance. A very pleasant hotel with lovely staff. Very quiet and spacious rooms. Wish the gym opened 24 hours. The Junction restaurant is on the property.
Chinle is the town just outside of Canyon de Chelly. Considering that there are only 3 hotels in Chinle, there isn't much to choose from. It was nice to stay within a few minutes of the park. This Best Western isn't a spectacular hotel, but I didn't expect much, so wasn't disappointed. There is no complimentary breakfast and the room was darkish with dim bedside lamps. It was OK for a one night stay.
We are staying at such a nice motel room at Chinle,AZ. Great check in staff. The room is recently remodeled with a touch of class. Comfy room with a fridge, microwave, desk and chairs. Beds are comfortable. The bathroom was nicely equipped and looked new. Highly recommend this facility. Restaurant on property. Pool and gym. Close to the park . Was picked up by your company and dropped off right in front of our room. Great place to spend time in the area.
Really a nice Best Western with clean and quiet rooms. The staff was exceptional especially Destiny at the front desk. I read several reviews and some people don't realize or give consideration of the locale of where they are at. This hotel is on the Navajo Tribal Reservation. There are signs in the lobby to remind people that they are on well water and fixtures may be stained.. The tap water did not smell nor have any taste. Remember you drive into Chinle past miles of nothing. At this nice little hotel you tend to forget you are close to the middle of nowhere! Tough it out a little. Remember to respect the Native American Culture. No alcoholic beverages are served on the reservation. There is no alcohol served in the Junction Restaurant located in the parking lot. (Great place to eat!) So you cannot get alcohol at dinner. Get over it and skip a glass of wine for once. We took a Jeep tour of Canyon de Chelly and talked to the front desk so they allowed us a late check out to coordinate with our return from the tour. Canyon de Chelly tours leave and return to the Best Western Parking Lot. So stay here, and all is convenient.
This hotel is located in the middle of Chinle. Chinle is a town in the heart of the Navajo reservation. This hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff are kind and warm. The restaurant called Junction in the middle of the hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The restaurant has the best freshly made Navajo fry bread and tortillas!
There isn't a lot of hotels to choose from in this area, but ours was clean and the personnel at check-in were friendly. No real complaint. We've stayed in worse. We've stayed in better. It was average.
We spent two nights on a trip to Canyon de Chelly. The hotel was very clean, quiet and conveniently located. The staff was friendly. The restaurant was conveniently located on site. The food was great, but not a lot of salad kinds of offerings. Try the Lamb on the Navajo menu...it's great! Would most definitely stay here again!
We stopped on the chance there would be a room available and were welcomed and given a room no problems. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Slept like babies. Nice, large walk-in shower. Fluffy towels. No breakfast but restaurant next door was good.
We stayed 2 nights on our recent visit to Canyon De Chelly . The motel is older but the rooms have been tastefully updatedupdated .The bed was comfortable as well . My wife raved about the coffee available in the morning. We would definitely stay there again.
This little town is small and I don't think there was many hotel options, but the Best Western should have been a little bit better. We stayed one night after lots of driving and site seeing in the Monument Valley area. The hotel is dated, but the room was clean. The air conditioner/heating unit was VERY difficult to adjust even to get some air circulating in the room. I think the facility could do better with this amenity. The water is provided by some local facility and in the lobby there is a sign explaining that sometimes the water runs cloudy. AND IT DID! If you let it run awhile it will clear up. Actually the water tasted fine, but the sediment left in the shower/tub was a "turn-off". I know there is nothing that the owner/Manager's can do about this issue, but regardless it is a problem. The lobby and outside facility was clean and inviting. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, I would almost consider coming back...almost.
We spent one night here after spending the day at the canyon. We stopped in without a reservation to see if they had anything available. The clerk was nice and told us she had a room but was having trouble with the direct tv in some rooms and was trying to get it taken care of. We decided to stay in spite of the tv problems. She said she would credit us a few dollars if we got to the room and found problems with the tv. Sure enough, no cable. We called her and she agreed to credit us. As it turns out the cable came on within an hour. The room was clean and beds comfy. The bathroom is a little small but we didn't have any problems. They don't offer a free breakfast but the Junction restaurant was on site. Food was wonderful. The motel also had a small gift shop in the lobby that I enjoyed looking around in. They have an indoor pool but we did not take advantage of using it. Would definitely stay again if I ever come back this way.
Near the canyon, and handy to the Junction restaurant next door. Staff was very friendly and helpful with a smile with questions. Room was the issue for me. Mainly, the room smelled overwhelmingly of what seemed like powdered carpet cleaner, though I can't sat for sure. I wasn't sure I could stay there but after awhile it seemed to improve. The carpet looked dirty and waxy despite this smell. The room was small but the bathroom was even smaller. The toilet was situated in a tight narrow space made worse with a toilet paper holder practically right over the toilet. The shower was also narrow, probably 30 inches wide. Shower head put out a very paltry spray of water. There was no free breakfast at this location and not even a discount at the Junction restaurant, next door which staff said they owned. Reason cited was that on Native land they don't have free breakfast.
We stayed here last month on our way up to Colorado. The hotel was very nice and clean. Canyon de Chelly is about a 10 min drive from the hotel. You do need to be mindful that you are on and around sacred Indian territory and to be respectful of others in their environment.
We had a very nice stay here. The room was large and very clean. It was nice to have a full shower and the air conditioner did a great job. Our faucet had hot water, but our shower didn't get past nicely warm. Otherwise a good choice for a place to lay our weary bodies. There's a restaurant right in front of the hotel which was extremely convenient!
We were glad to be situated comfortably in the Navajo Nation at a motel proximate to one of the most extraordinary and awesome places, Canyon de Chelly National Monument. All the staff at the Best Western reception desk were welcoming and helpful. The argan oil toiletries were quite nice. Our room on the first floor was dark and dated, but it was clean, spacious, and adequately cooled. Great to have the Junction restaurant on the property.
From check-in to The Junction restaurant to check-out, our 3 nights here were great. Another review mentioned the age of the property and we agree it's not new, but it is well maintained and decorated. Very nice, overall. We never met a member of the staff who was not courteous, helpful, and friendly. Free coffee in the lobby early each morning fit my schedule very well as I took a cup to the little park area near the pool and watched the sunrise. The owners and staff obviously work to earn your business. You should give it to them.
We've stayed in the Holiday Inn at Chinle in the past, with mixed results, so tried the Best Western this year. The exterior is well maintained, but clearly an older property. Nonetheless, the rooms are updated, clean, spacious and very affordable! There's an onsite restaurant that offers American and Navajo cuisine, plus a small gift shop in the motel office. What a pleasant surprise! We'll stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay in the canyon. Our room was clean and quiet. The front desk agent Destiny was attentive to our needs and answered all of our questions. Food & service at the Junction, awesome!
Chinle does not offer a ton of options for lodging, but for those looking to get an early start at Canyon de Chelly, I venture to guess this is the best option. Things were clean but I would certainly say some room fixtures are dated and can use upgrading. Was very reasonably priced as well.
We are part of a church mission trip, comiing from southern California, and have stayed here for 14 years a week at a time. There's also a weekend trip just before Christmas for some of our group. The hotel and restaraunt have always been very accomadating, and comfortable.
We are staying at the BW walked in this place is clean, sheets are crisp everything looks great loved the gal at the front desk she was sweet. Went to have dinner at Junction Cafe was greeted at the door our server was very patient and food was excellent with big portions. I recommend.
For a region with few options, the Best Western was a pleasant surprise. The room was spacious and clean in all respects, the staff invariably friendly and accommodating to our family, and the food offered in the "Junction Restaurant" on site was the most reliable we experienced in Chinle. Didn't hurt that they had a clean, serviceable fitness room, as well, where all the equipment actually worked.
The location of the Inn is very close to Canyon De Chelly and was a good location to operate from as we enjoyed the canyon for three days. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The AC operated quietly at night. The king bed was comfortable.
First of all, I am concerned about the security at this hotel. My daughter made the reservation for two rooms and I arrived before her. I asked if I could check in at the front desk. I was able to check in for both rooms without providing any identification. The room was clean and good sized. There is a restaurant on the premises, which is convenient. You are very close to Canyon de Chelly. Overall, not a bad location but nothing exceptional.
We stayed here for two nights during a recent road trip. We had 5 adults and an infant in 2 rooms. All went well and we would stay there again. The staff of the hotel and associated restaurant was attentive and focused on ensuring we had a nice stay. They checked in on us shortly after our arrival to ensure all was well in the room - it was - and later were quite helpful as we considered options for our time in Canyon de Chelly. We would recommend this hotel to a friend or family visiting the area.
Our room was very clean, as well as spacious. The staff was pleasant and informative. We arrived in the evening so were really hungry. We were surprised when the attached restaurant was closing and we had very few dinning options. Fortunately, the worker at the local Subway Sandwich store unwrapped his condiments and made us sandwiches. So we didn't starve! Chinle is a small town, so try not to arrive late on a Sunday. They really do roll up the streets!
There is nothing exceptional about this hotel which is set up in a motel style. (No elevator to 2nd floor). The rooms are clean and quite large.. a bit of updating in the bathroom area but overall not an updated property. There is a newer AC. There is a restaurant on the site, but overall we would recommend Denny's over that restaurant based on our experience. Go for the Canyon, not the food or accommodation!
The Inn is perfectly situated for a trip to Canyon de Chelly. Rooms were well equipped and clean. There's not a lot to say because everything was as it should be and we enjoyed our stay. There is a restaurant on-site (called Harvest) and we had both dinner and breakfast there. perfectly reasonable dinner at reasonable prices, and a strong Navajo theme
Traveling on Indian reservations, mean few hotels is typical. To find one that is consistently well kept is unusual anywhere, yet that is the Canyon De Chelly Inn in Chinle. Julia, Gilberta, and the rest of staff, really work to get things right, an check to be sure you are happy with the room etc. We stayed in a ground floor accessible room opposite the office, on the other end of the "U" shaped building, which was quieter than I thought it would be so close to the highway! Pool was being refilled after repairs, so too cold to swim in yet. Funny, I met the same AZ state highway employee there this time as last. Since they an the regular delivery drivers stay there, you know it's good place! Subway next door, with other cafe close by, along with gas & convenience stores near by going both ways
The staff was very friendly and check in and out was fast. They called the room to see if we where happy with the room. The rooms were clean and well taken care off. There was a nice indoor pool area.
The Best Western Canyon De Chelly Inn room featured a fridge, HD TV with DIRECTV (lots of channels), AC and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast isn't included unlike most Best Westerns but Junction Restaurant on site was convenient for breakfast and an evening meal.
Staff pleasant. But go with your first impression on this one; well second impression. Motel lobby clean and pleasing (first impression). Open the room door (second impression) and WOW. We were hit with a chemical (cleaner?) scent that made us feel more dirty than clean. Truly, the smell was so harsh we purchased air freshner and neutralizers after we opted to stay and even with that, the chemical smell lingered. We stayed because of convenience and did not want to lose our pre-paid fee. Room decor needs updating. After coming from the Hampton Inn in Kayenta, this was a real let down. We always think, Best Western, good franchise. Well, we are rethinking our opinion after several Best Westerns have been less than average for even an over-night stay.
Very comfortable and clean room, the usual amenities (fridge, DirecTV, wifi) and very friendly and helpful staff. There is no breakfast, but the Junction Restaurant was on site and under same management. The restaurant had a wonderful selection of native foods plus American and Mexican too. You must try the Navajo specialities! So good! And many canyon tours depart from the BW, so no driving to find them.

We stayed in this hotel as it offer easy access to the Canyon De Chelly. Upon checking in I observed an on site restaurant and asked if there was a bar there. I was informed that Chenli is in a dry county. I have never experienced this in the USA before so I was very disappointed as the town offers nothing to do in the evenings. This is a motel style accommodation and our room was clean. However the TV reception was awful and the signal was lost on a continuous basis (remember there is nothing to do at night in this town). We received an unsolicited pre-recorded call regarding the facilities (we did request "do not disturb"), but in the call wrong information was given as the pool was actually closed. I was also surprised to see 4 categories of tax added to the bill, this meant that I paid for the room plus 24% in taxes. If you like a quiet evening then I recommend this hotel, if you like to do something in the evenings then this is not the place for you.
2 days during stay at BW were heavy raining unexpectation ,could not go out to see De Chilly Canyon till the morning of checking out from the hotel. We were lucky the rain created and the journey began.
I stay in Best Western when ever I can when I travel. This one was not any where close to my past experiences with other Best Western locations throughout the country. Clean but not really. Not really quiet. Small TV, limited channel choices. The location is dated and shows it. There is not a hot or cold breakfast included but the owner of this location does have an attached restaurant you can use, but not even a discount is offered. The front desk people were not the friendly type. Check in was not really a hassle but not efficient either. Check out was the same. The bed is for sure dated and a new mattress would be nice. Under current owners and conditions I would not stay there again or recommend it. Way over priced for what you get. There are plenty of other choices in the same location, get one of them.
Stopped here after being onthe road all day. We were in luick- they had a room and it was reasonably priced. A returant is on the property so there was no continental breakfast offered. Showers no bath tub- but nice rooms. Would stay there again.
Located just outside the canyon de chelly in Chinle, the room is quite large and clean. Structure has 2 floors with no elevators and there is no breakfast offered. Wifi is complimentary. It is an average hotel, price was higher respect to what was offered.
The staff was very friendly when we arrived. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Wi-Fi worked well.this is the only Best Western I have stayed in that did not offer some type of breakfast although there was coffee in the lobby. Prices were reasonable for the area. I would stay here again.
After one try, the key to my room no longer worked. The folks at the desk didn't seem to believe me, so one after another went to my room to try to open it. Finally, they called maintenance, and someone arrived after about 15 minutes. He said he didn't know how to fix the problem. Eventually he changed the batteries on the sensor, and I got into my room. When I was already in my nightgown in bed, the folks at the desk gave a key to my room to another customer, and a man tried to enter. Fortunately, I had the chain mechanism engaged, but he kept trying to get in. When I called the desk, they said, 'Oh, oops. Didn't know you had that room." Called corporate and requested a refund. No luck. Stay at the local Holiday Inn,
Excellent location for visiting Canyon de Chelly—room was clean and well equipped. Staff was very accommodating. Overall a very good experience although no breakfast was offered, restaurant was on site
I have been to Chinle twice in the past few months for work, and I would absolutely stay at the Best Western again. From the outside, it hasn't changed since my first stay here in the early 90s. But the property is in excellent shape, well maintained and super clean. My room was also immaculate, the bed was comfortable, bath was clean and functional, the wifi and television were great. The staff are exceptionally friendly and efficient. I appreciated the chance to check in early.) The lobby coffee is pretty good (and there's a new coffee shop at the Gorman senior center just north of the hospital). I myself didn't mind the lack of "free" breakfast. The on-site restaurant is good and also gets good reviews from locals. Competitors may be better situated, but staying here is a no-brainer.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and convenient to the Canyon de Chelly entrance. Although breakfast wasn't served at this hotel, the restaurant right in the same parking lot was absolutely delicious and served breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We chose this hotel due to its location to the Canyon De Chelly. It was clean and comfortable. It was also very quiet considering its on a main road. The water is a very strange color, which is not the hotels fault, but a little off putting all the same. Breakfast is not included. There was a bit of a mix up with our original room assignment (full of extra mattresses) or I may have considered giving it 5 stars.
We were tired from driving and made it to Chinle. We needed to do laundry but there were no onsite facilities. We were too late for the local laundromat. The room was oddly laid out which made it impossible to get to the bathroom if someone was sitting at the desk. It was very dated but true to decorating for location. There was no complimentary breakfast. However a restaurant was onsite. It was a great local diner, however it added $30 to our stay since typical best westerns have complimentary breakfast. It would have been nice if the hotel gave coupons for the diner to get a discount. I would suggest trying the holiday inn in town over this hotel.
Best Western Canyon De Chelly Inn Visited in Feb 2019 before a tour of Canyon De Chelly. When we checked in, we were very warmly greeted by Winona at the front desk. When asked about the amenities at the hotel, Winona pointed out where the ice and vending machines were located and also indicated that we were located very close to the wi-fi router. Good job, Winona, The room was clean and comfortable and so were the bed and pillows. Good off-season pricing.
Great location near Canyon De Chelly Nat'l Monument. The restaurant that is attached to the hotel serves American grill food, and a few Navajo dishes were the fry bread. I recommend anything off their Navajo choices. They also serve Pizza Hut Express. Service is great, rooms are clean.
We tend to judge a hotel by its cleanliness. We have stayed at some that we were not comfortable. This place was clean. The sleep quality was decent. The room was very dated but functional. We were a bit put off by the color of the water. It was not clear but had a brownish tent to it. We were assured by the staff that it was typical for the area. We assume that is correct. The room was a bit drafty as well, but we are sure that Arizona does not prepare its properties for the cold weather we experienced while we were there in late December. We do not have any concerns with our stay but did feel the check in was a bit slower and more difficult than we typically experience. Overall we would tell you to not be afraid to stay here...no frills but functional. One other thing of note, there is no breakfast included with this hotel stay. That is atypical these days so be aware of that when choosing your stay.
When you want to take in Canyon De Chelly National Monument, it's best to get accommodations for the night before. Best Western Canyon De Chelly Inn fits the bill. While not luxurious, it is clean. Staff was pleasant.
stayed the weekend here for a family function, and after spending the day outside with the family and all the festivities. This place was a very convertible, quiet, and defiantly got the rest that was much needed. Beds must be new, slept like a baby.
Best Western Canyon de Chelly Inn is a good hotel with nice rooms and great kingsize bed. However in the bathroom there was some maintenance required such as a broken down showerhead and a faucet which was very hard to open. Furthermore, no breakfast was included and the price was quite high for that region.
I realize there are not a lot of options when visiting Canyon De Chelly... so I chose the Best Western. Check in was easy and the front desk person was nice. The room, however was dim and smelly. The room smelled as if someone poured cinnamon perfume on the carpets or all around the sleeping area. The best I could do was get up early and get out to start the day. I cannot recommend this place.
Place is clean and staff very helpful. Lunch had great service and was asked at least 3 times if i needed anything else.Room had good heater and it was workig for me overtime. Was a cool 25 degrees. Would definitly go again.
This is a big hotel arranged around 3 sides of a square. There is a restaurant in the middle. There was plenty of parking. The rooms are on 2 levels with stairs to the upper level. Access to the rooms from the outside. My room was spacious. King size bed, table with 2 upright chairs, tv, fridge and very useful coffee machine. The heating worked well. Wifi was fine. The bathroom had a big shower (same footprint as a bath) and there was plenty of space to put things down. Although I dutifully hung my towels up to use them again they were replaced with fresh ones – as seems to happen pretty much everywhere I go! It was quiet. If I concentrated there was a bit of noise from the road and I heard people walk past a couple of times but nothing intrusive. All the people I spoke to at Reception were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast at The Junction restaurant was ok though I thought Denny's (a short drive away) was better value and better food. No guest laundry but the Coin Op across the street was entertaining and efficient.
Pity about the attitude of the office staff - unhelpful and bordering on rude. Website said breakfast included - staff said no,,, we dont offer it. Room was good, but if the staff act like that they will not last long
I stayed at this hotel one night in September and they charged my credit card $13.06 twice 2 weeks later whithout any explanation. I'm still trying to get a refund but no answer yet. It's been 2 months now.
The only complaint I had with this hotel is that the carpet in the room was a little worn, otherwise everything was great - a large clean room with a very comfortable bed and very quiet. You are just a short driving distance from the canyon, and Junction Restaurant is right on the other side of the parking lot. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Nice and clean hotel, conveniently located to the Canyon and local stops of interest. The staff was friendly, efficient and helpful with recommendations and directions. Not many options in Chinle but i would definitely recommend this as a good place from which to base your exploration of the area.
We had 2 rooms and both rooms had a awful smell; could not determine what or where the smell was coming from. I would have understood if it was just 1 room but both rooms had the same smell. I hope the Best Western can determine what is causing the odor. Otherwise, the room was in good working order.
Started with surely front desk staff then proceeded to the room with used Kleenex and other debris on the floor between the bed and night table and under the dining table. Restaurant served inedible, tough flavourless fry bread with bland Chile. Only the filling of the sandwich was edible. Compared to the BW in Page this place is a disaster. For $50 less per night BW Page offered a great complimentary breakfast (none at BW CCanyon de Chelly) great service and clean rooms.
Front desk was friendly. Room clean. Not much to say about this hotel, except that I think it was a little expensive for what it had to offer. The basic restaurant on the premises came in handy, otherwise not much in the area. The AZ Jeep Tour picked me up at thie hotel for the Canyon de Chelly tour. Had it not been for the proximity to the canyon and the tour I had booked, I would have found different quarters.
The room was very comfortable, clean, and up-to-date. The bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant that is next door was okay, but there aren't any good restaurant options in Chinle.
Friendly, helpful staff at BW Canyon de Chelly Inn. Rooms well presented with plenty space for luggage and nice comfy beds. The Junction restaurant next door is very good & popular with locals, so worth booking a table for dinner if you don't want to queue.
The room was large and comfortable, there was a small table and chairs but no "easy chair." The shower was nice and the WiFi worked fine. We had a small fridge but no microwave in the room. The restaurant related to the motel was great, but it would have been nice to be able to reheat some of the leftovers! I think they were having some staffing issues - we had a bit of trouble getting checked in: nothing major, just confusion that seemed to be from a new employee. And after our first night (of two) they called to ask if we wanted the room cleaned! My impression was that they were very short staffed. But it was convenient to Canyon de Chelly and a nice place for a couple of nights.
Stayed here two nights. Clean, comfortable room. As others have mentioned, the lighting was a bit dim in the room, making it a little hard to see things in the suitcase. But the beside light was fine for reading. Comfortable king bed. Small bathroom but still had room for our cosmetic bags. The room was VERY dark and quiet at night, making for great sleep even in the completely full hotel. Junction restaurant was surprisingly good. We ate 4 meals there and all were tasty and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Portions are quite big and they have no problem with you asking to split an order or make substitutions. They were short staffed in the housekeeping department when we checked in and many rooms were not quite ready. Winona at the front desk was the personification of grace under pressure. We didn't try the pool or the sauna but both were sparkling clean. Would definitely stay again.
Im super happy about this hotel. Whenever I go to this part of Arizona I always sleep there. Rooms are clean, well equipped and large. Really good food in the restaurant, love it. A lot of parking spots. Nice people who after so many visits I trust.
After travelling for 2 days we arrived at the motel. The rooms were nicely appointed and up to date. The beds slept great and the room very clean. The indoor pool was a surprise and nice to have at night when temperatures dropped. Very relaxing.
Not literally, but this is a great place to stay in such a cultural hub! So much history and sites to see. This best western is right in the center of town leaving you close to every necessity that you may need.
The staff were all very kind and helpful. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable which is a must for tourists. ?? One female night shift employee went out of her way to help me to book a BW in a different city when the internet site was having problems in that city we were traveling to.
We were on a long road trip through Southwest and stayed two nights to explore this beautiful and wonderous Canyon. After reading reviews for Chinle hotels, this one had the better reviews. Upon friendly staff check in, room was clean and comfy, albeit a little dated. Motel style with all doors on the balcony and opening into the parking lot. Although it's a small town, this hotel is the furthest from the Canyon and the closest to the main highway. First night, just before dusk, there was a power outage and with the heat everyone moved outside to the balcony. As two women travelers it became clear to us that this was a hotel frequented by more than just tourists. There were many work vans/trucks in the parking lot and much of the clients were single men. Some sat in the balcony and others congregated in the green space in the center. It felt a little disconcerting and we kept to ourselves inside during the stay. By the way, the power outage was resolved relatively quickly. Regarding Junction restaurant, breakfast is not included in room rate, however you can pay for it with limited choice. We opted to make our own menu choices which was better deal. Big portions, average food. As always on the Navajo Nation, bring your own liquor and be discreet to show respect.
The motel and staff were outstanding. The quality of the food at dinnertime could have been better. Breakfast was excellent. This is a very good place to stay in Chinle and we would be pleased to return to this facility.
We are regular travels who use our Best Western status to its fullest potential and we thought this location would be like most of the others we had stayed at, and for the most part that is true, but it differed in one particular way that bears note, this location does not include breakfast. Another notable difference from most Best Westerns is this that this location is really a bit of a throwback to the older motels, with room access directly from the parking stall in front of your door - it was a welcome change for us. The staff is very welcoming and friendly and that is a must at the end of a long day on the road in one of the world's most beautiful corners.
Stayed while on vacation with extended family. My folks had stayed at another property on a prior visit, but it only had a couple ADA rooms which were booked for our dates. The Best Western has several on the first floor with handicapped parking spaces in front. Mom and Dad said it was one of the best arrangements for wheelchairs they've had. We all slept soundly without noise from surrounding units although the motel was nearly full. Gift shop has everything from postcards and Tshirts to fine jewelry at reasonable prices. The Junction restaurant is also on site. The in room motel guide makes it sound like they have free bottled water, which is not true. That section needs to be re-written to make it clear bottled water and other drinks can be purchased from the vending machines by the pool. The nearest ATM is in the convienence store next to the motel, but don't wander over there after dark because of panhandlers. There is a tall brick wall with razor wire on top between the store and the motel to keep out them and other undesirables, which is a little disconcerting. Clerks were helpful and friendly at check in and checkout and rooms were clean and comfortable. Will probably stay here again the next time we are on that part of the res.
I have stayed here twice, and both times I was very comfortable. Everything is clean and the pool is really nice. You just have to walk through a bunch of sunbathers outside to get to it. Couldn't get the sauna to work. The air conditioner in the room has controls separate from the actual machine, so I had to call the office and figure out how to turn it on. TV worked great.
We had a good experience here. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The water was a little brown but there is a serious drought so wells are low. If this bothers you remember the severity of the situation.
This Best Western was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We were on the first floor and I was expecting to hear footsteps above us with people walking to their rooms. Never heard a thing!!!! I loved the pale sunflower color sheets and towels. The room was spacious and the air conditioner/heating unit worked great. We appreciated the refrigerator in the room. There was no microwave but we were okay with that. The front desk was extremely helpful as I could not get through on my cell phone to a tour company to book a tour into the Canyon de Chelly. She made the call to the company for me. The hotel has a small gift shop. The other 2 hotels have bigger gift shops if you are looking to purchase items from the area. I would forward you that the Holiday Inn gift show is closed on Sundays from 12-5. We would definitely stay at the Best Western again.
An older facility that has been renewed but is required to deal with the original structural limitations. Bathroom is postage stamp sized with extremely limited counter space but is done well and is in good condition. Horizontal surfaces also limited. Cleanliness appears to be very good and staff open and friendly. Beds are good.
On our road trip through Navajo Nation, a friend recommended staying in Chinle to see the beautiful Canyon de Chelly. We chose the Best Western and were very pleased with our room overall. We stayed two nights. The AC worked well and everything was clean. The TV reception was iffy at times, and the Wi-Fi wasn't reliable. The beds were comfortable and we would choose this hotel again. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered from the on-site restaurant once, and it was ok. We were pleased there was a Subway right next door.
The best reason to stay at this motel is that it is the best one in Chinle next to the most amazing Canyon de Chelly. Beds are hard, A/C negligible and you are in the Navajo Nation, so if you want anything to drink, you had better bring it. Worst thing about the room was that it had been sprayed with some sort of room deordorant. I really had a hard time breathing. That being said, we loved driving the rim after dinner and going into the canyon with Beauty Way Tours was amazing. The cows followed us back to room after dinner and checked out our car thoroughly.
Visited in late May 2018. Very satisfied with room and check in staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was hot and room had a good shower! No breakfast offered which was a minor thing. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others considering it.
Very nice room. Asked for and received a room on the second floor. Relatively quiet for a large motel. Asked for and received a microwave timely. No CNN or MSNBC - must be a town that Sinclair controls the television stations.
After 33 days and almost 8,000 miles we have to give this property 3 stars. The lady at check in was nice, but other than that there was nothing special or that stands out. There is usually something good and bad to be said of most places. That just isn't true for us here. It truly was "Average" for a Best Western, which isn't really a bad thing.
The motel is close to the Monument and provided good service. The restaurant is excellent with option of some Navaho dishes in addition to expected items. The rooms are comfortable and parking was available near the room.
Staff was very friendly and informative. Location was perfect. Food at the restaurant was very good-had dinner and breakfast.Tried the blue cornmeal pancake-delicious! Plenty of attentive, friendly servers.
We were on a multigenerational trip with my mother, aunt and daughter. The advantage to this hotel was that it was under a mile to Canyon de Chelly and had a restaurant on site. The room we were in was fairly large which was nice. Gave us some nice elbow room, and with four woman that was nice to have. It was great to have the restaurant within walking distance of the room. The food was pretty decent as was the service. My mother and aunt really enjoyed the lamb stews that they ordered for dinner, and I really liked my corn pancakes the next day for breakfast. Portion sizes are fairly large. My daughter and I could have shared her sandwich for dinner. Front desk called about 45 minutes after we had checked in to make sure we had everything we needed, which was a nice touch. Blackout curtains worked like a charm to keep out the bright morning sun. Would stay there again.
Very nice clean room with the typical Best Western amenities. They do not offer a breakfast, but the Junction Restaurant is located in their parking lot, reasonably priced, and is very good. The staff was efficient and very nice. It's a good location, just minutes away from the Canyon De Chelly. We did a Navajo guided tour of the canyon and the hotel was the pick up point. The hotel was fine with us leaving our vehicle in their parking lot.
After a long dusty drive from Sedona were we happy to drive up to the Best Western in Chinle and begin our stay here. The reception was warm and friendly and checking in was easy. We had a room upstairs and on the other side of the U-shaped hotel with ice machine two rooms away (important when it's warm out)! The room had 2 comfortable Queen beds with plenty of room to unpack - even an ironing board and iron if you needed them. The air conditioning worked quickly to cool off the room when we needed it during the day and the bathroom was very clean. The front desk even called up to be sure we had everything we needed! The adjacent restaurant on the property is a popular destination for both locals and visitors and makes grabbing a bite before you explore the southern or northern rim of Canyon de Chelly extremely convenient! So glad we took the advice of others before us and chose the Best Western in Chinle.
Overall we had a good two night stay while visiting Canyon de Chelly. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff went the extra mile to ensure we had a good stay. The adjoining restaurant was very nice. The staff there was also excellent. So why the so so rating? The WiFi was horrible. Slow is describing it mildly. Our room rarely had more than three bars and that lasted a short time. Service would drop out frequently. I had to go to the office to make travel reservations and check my email. Fix this and they would get 5 stars.
We had a quite large room, but it felt like a cave. The window overlooked the air conditioning unit at the restaurant and all of the light bulbs were so dim - really hard to read in the room. The room was clean and plenty of water. Maybe some of the other rooms are not so gloomy.
This hotel looks new. The lobby area was lovely and there is a great gift shop selling Native craft, souvenirs, books etc. We were warmly greeted at reception. The lady who checked us in was very nice and helpful. We had a lovely room on the ground floor. It was large and very clean with comfortable bed and the bathroom was very nice with a large vanity so plenty of space for personal bathroom items. Wifi was fine and the area was quiet so slept well. This is a great place to stay for visiting Canyon De Chelly. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to everyone.
The room was immaculate, had been recently remodeled and was well appointed. Had a roomy shower (no tub) with plenty of water pressure. Good location with a restaurant on-site. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The only negative was: the water was brown the second day there. I called the office and they said it's well water and to let it run for a bit and it will clear. It did clear up, but took awhile.
We arrived early to meet a tour and the person at the front desk assigned us a room to change and be ready. Very nice of the clerk She also helped us get onto the correct tour. Large room The restaurant in the hotel had good food
My friend and I were impressed by our room, including the plentiful and THICK bath towels. The staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly. The room was so quiet we wouldn't have known there were other guests if we hadn't seen the cars. I would stay here again in a heart beat.
I would not stay at this motel again. Guess because it is at Canyon De Chelly In they don't need to have a breakfast. A restaurant is nearby, but no coffee in the room, most motels do have coffee pots to make coffee in the room. One of the reasons we stay at a Best Western is for the breakfast.
Just wish we could have stayed longer. This hotel was perfectly located to serve as a launching point for treks in any direction. The rooms were comfortable. Good ice machine to help keep your trail drinks cool.
My stay there was as usual....very good. I stay there often and am always amazed by the consistency of high quality service offered. I stay in the area for business and am so satisfied and comfortable on my return to my room there. I can get my work done in peace and comfort
We stayed here so that we could go to Canyon De Chelly and have a base to come back to. The room was very nice. It appeared to be recently renovated. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. The hotel wanted to charge an additional $2.00 which was not included on our reservation. We refused to pay this and the $2.00 was removed. We would definitely stay here again. However we suggest that if you eat at the adjacent restaurant (Junction Restaurant) order American food as the Mexican and the Navajo food is bland; and don't expect great service.
Still the best hotel in Chinle. Customer service is top notch. Clean rooms and comfy beds. Indoor pool is a plus. There's also a restaurant on site that serves breakfast lunch and dinner. Food served was delicious. The whitehouse is by far still the best burrito I've ever had. Definately the place you wanna come back too each time you pass through.
Good hotel near Canyon De Chelly. If you're looking to spend a night in Chinle after a visit to Canyon De Chelly, the Best Western is not a bad option. The options are limited in Chinle. The rooms are spacious and clean, and will do for a shower and a nights rest. However, there is no breakfast or on site laundry. There is a restaurant in the hotel parking lot (we didn't eat there) and a laundry mat across the road.
The gal who checked us in was very helpful and gave us maps, recommendations, and was very knowledgeable. The room was a standard, low cost, room, with a much higher price and no breakfast. Nothing terrible, nothing special.
The room and staff were excellent, very much appreciated the upgrades and look forward to perhaps seeing breakfast included with the stay. Missed having a hot tub. Beds very comfortable and rooms very clean!!!
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and service at this hotel. We don't always stay at Best Westerns but will probably do so in the future after this trip. The staff were are extremely friendly, helpful and professional. Our room was very clean and up to date. The internet worked well and despite the fact that the room doors opened to the outside, it was very quiet. I recommend staying at this Best Western when visiting Chenle, AZ due to its quality and value. The restaurant located right in the parking area of the hotel (The Junction) was also exceptional in its service and quality. We would definitely stay here again!
The rooms are nice enough and the service was good. We like ground floor rooms where you can park near the room. They have many such rooms and we parked directly in front of our room. But there was no heat in the shower/toilet room. There was no microwave in the room. There was no "breakfast" that has become the norm with chain motels. Next time in Chinle, we'll try out the Holiday Inn.
Room was comfortable, somewhat dark - no overhead lighting, restaurant was very good (ate dinner and breakfast there). Staff was extremely helpful and eager to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Nice shop at the front desk! Very close to Canyon De Chelly with easy access. No ATM on site, but we found one at a quick stop about a half mile down the road.
We knew ahead of time that this hotel had no breakfast included & exterior corridors, both negatives. I had checked the other hotels & discovered no other hotel in Chine would guarantee non-smoking rooms; that was unacceptable. So we stayed here and were very happy with our stay. Took breakfast food; last day asked to use a microwave & one was delivered to the room! Older hotel but room was really quiet; built better, I guess. Negatives-tiny bathroom, not enough outlets, really basic cable (Direct TV).
Overall, our stay was disappointing. Breakfast was not included. The on-site restaurant gave no discount for hotel guests (or for military). Thankfully there was a Denny's down the road. There are no fans in the bathroom, just a small window. The sauna wasn't working and no indication when it would be fixed.
There are not many choices in Chinle, but we were happy with our stay here. The hotel is convenient to Canyon de Chelly and has a good restaurant on-site. The front desk staff were excellent at check-in and at check-out. Our room, while dated, was clean and large. We had a first floor room. The walls are not very sound proof so you can hear your neighbors, but it did not really impact our ability to sleep. As an added bonus, they allowed us to park our vehicle on site after checkout since we had booked a tour with Beauty Way tours. Overall, we had a great experience here and we would stay again if in the area.
Well-trained employees, clean rooms, comfortable beds, a refrigerator, TV (with good reception), and a coffee maker are far more than one might expect after arriving in the middle of the West's vast, open, largely undeveloped back country. BW also has a nice pool and sauna behind a popular, locally-owned restaurant. Next to the front desk is a gift shop with a good selection of Navajo-themed books, plus jewelry and other attractive hand-made items. The divided bathroom did not have a fan but had a small, private window to ventilate the shower and toilet. No complaints at all.
We drove from New Mexico to Canyon De Chelly, spent the night and then drove to Monument Valley. This hotel was a perfect location. The internet worked great and the staff were very kind. The room was standard but clean and nice. I would highly recommend staying here if you're spending the night in Chinle.
One of three main lodging options in Chinle, this motel is a slightly less expensive choice with all the amenities one would expect from a good chain motel. While it is located nearer the main village of Chinle and farther from the monument than the other two motels, it is still only a few minutes drive to the visitor center and the rim drives. Our room was clean, had two comfortable queen beds, a nice high ceiling, fridge but no microwave, coffee maker, table & chairs, TV (limited channel availability), strong, fast WiFi access, and nice fluffy towels in the bath. While the “Junction”, the on-site restaurant, was not open for dinner on Easter Sunday, it was open for breakfast the next AM. Definitely recommended.
We stayed one night while visiting Canyon de Chelly. It was a basic motel but clean and quiet. The receptionist called to make sure everything in the room was OK. There was a mini refrigerator in the room but it was not working. Otherwise, no problems.
I stayed at this property 15 years ago. My memory was that it was clean and well maintained. I was a bit concerned that it would now be worn out. I was pleased to find modern updates, including a wonderfully comfortable bed. This was also the cleanest property I have ever experienced.
We decided to see Canyon de Chelly (pronounced Shay) after a referral by friends. This natural area and viewpoints are in my opinion far more scenic then the Grand Canyon without the people. The town is somewhat prone to poverty but the staff at the hotel and the eating establishments were very professional and extremely friendly. The hotel room was very nice and quiet! The hotel grounds were recently paved and the grounds were tidy. Would definitely stay again given the chance!
On our way to Canyon de Chelly we stopped in at the Best Western. It was only miles away from the canyon with wifi so it worked well for us. The bathroom had been updated but was rather small or tight but for one night it worked well for us. A restaurant was next door so a hot meal was readily available. Good, polite service made this work.
From the outside it looks like a big motel, but on the inside this Best Western exceeded our expectations: very large and clean rooms, upscale bathrooms, comfy beds, refrigerator, hair dryer, iron and iron board, nice TV and excellent free wifi. We only wish the pool's remodeling had been completed by the time we were there and that breakfast was included in the price, but no other hotel in Chinle offers that, so we're very happy we chose BW! Joanna at the front desk is super nice and helpful; wish every hotel employee was like her! 5 stars!
Very nice motel and a great place to stay while visiting Canyon de Chelly. Beds are comfortable and the staff are nice and helpful. They do not offer a free breakfast because of restaurant at motel. The restaurant is good, but closes at 6pm (and this was on a Sat). I would stay here again.
A very pleasant hotel in a good location. Close to various restaurants, shops, and a gas station. During my stay I used the restaurant in the hotel, they have very good breakfasts and lunches, the portions are large. The most important thing for me was the clean and spacious room and bathroom. During my stay, I felt comfortable. The room has coffee and a coffee maker, and it's great when you get up and you do not have to go out for coffee anywhere. Thanks!
No matter what adventure you're looking for in the area this is the place to rest your head between your daily activities. Everyone is extremely friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The on site restaurant is very tasty with fast service.
There aren't many places to stay in Chinle, so I simply picked the highest rated by Google. The receptionist upon check in was very friendly and helpful. She recommended the best place to eat in town and we were checked in straight away. I had booked 2 rooms. The accomodations were what I expected. The blankets were a little thin and the room was cooler than what the thermostat said. The water I noticed in the toilet, sink and shower had a light yellow tint, it didn't bother me as I figuered it was most likey some type of mineral deposit found in dessert water; it had no odor and due to its appearance I opted to buy drinking water. Overall a great place, even got a phone call from the front desk making sure everything was ok, nice touch.
Such an amazing area for spectacular geological views and cultural sites! We found the Best Western Canyon De Chelly Inn to be very clean and comfortable. We ate at the adjacent Junction Restaurant which was equally wonderful. You can't beat the home cooked meals. The Inn and the Junction Restaurant are easy to find and are situated near the entrance to the Canyon. Very friendly staff.
Situated just off the quiet highway in Chinle. The location is pretty bleak, with poor housing for poor people. The reception are welcoming, and very helpful. We asked for both a microwave, and a standard lamp, as the room had limited lighting in which to read. Both came quickly with no fuss. Situated a few miles from the magnificent canyon. There is a supermarket, but nowhere sells beer/wine for tens of miles, as it is on a reservation. There is a decent restaurant on site, but it closes at 8 during the week and 6 at the weekend. Our room was a good size, very clean and quiet. I may be wrong, but the reception staff seemed to allocate a room, leave the adjoining one empty, and allocate the next one. The effect being that the room on both sides was empty, so being quiet. A practice that should be common within the hotel trade. A good stay.
This is a really nice hotel, it is in a good location on Main Street, and very easy to find. We got a very warm and friendly welcome from the young lady on the front desk, who was also very helpful, and whilst booking us in, made sure we had everything we needed, not only for our stay at the Hotel but also our travel plans for the following days (Things to see, directions, how to get there and what to look for on the journey Etc.) Whilst there isn't a complimentary breakfast at this hotel, there is the "Junction Restaurant" at the opposite side of the courtyard from the Hotel Reception. They have a large selection of good food and are open from 07:00 to 21:00, (Closed on public holidays). The staff are very courteous and also helpful. the food was excellent, large portions, well cooked and delivered to your table quickly. The hotel has a heated swimming pool and a sauna which are both open from 09:00 to 21:00 all year round. An outdoor picnic area which has tables and BBQ grills, and a gift shop which also has lots of information and some really nice Navajo rugs and pottery, lots of books, other gifts and memorabilia, and is well worth exploring. This hotel is ideally situated for visiting Canyon De Chelly, there are lots of fantastic view points in the Canyon and tours are available including "Jeep Tours" and "Horseback Tours" with the Navajo People. All the information can be found at the Hotel Reception. There is a trail from "White House Overlook" down the side of the canyon to the "White House Ruins", it is well worth the effort to take this trail, but allow at least 2 Hours, and it can be strenuous on the way back. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU TRY IT, and take plenty of water!!!. There are also some other fantastic locations that make a good day trip using this hotel as a base. Things like "The Painted Desert & Petrified Forest", "Mesa Verde", "Monument Valley", "Four Corners" and the WWII "Navajo Code Talkers Monument" My wife and I would definitely recommend this hotel, and are looking forward to staying here again when we are next in the area
The White House buritto is what has me coming back every time.. the food the staff the room the location.. alway a great experience! lock my key in my vehicle the staff had the people to call would like to thank speedy in chinle for ur fast service!
If you're going to Canyon De Chelly National Monument, you will most likely stay in Chinle. The Best Western is the best hotel in the region. It's not big-city elegant, but it is really comfortable, staffed by good people who know how to be good to traveling guests. Many international visitors stay here. The staff of the restaurant on-site also wants your business and the food is the best around.
Stayed two nights, was not disappointed. Service was good, room was clean. There was a restaurant next door, that was also nice. Gift shop also, not to big through. Waiting for our tour guide, for Canyon De Chelly will pick you up there.
We arrived on Christmas Eve, the town was quiet, but we got a very pleasing welcome from Best Western. This location never fails on a good welcome. We love this location and plan on returning to Best Western soon.
My family and I enjoy staying at this hotel every time we come to Chinle, AZ. The staff is great and the rooms are so comfortable, spacious, and clean. You can't hear any outside noises. They have refrigerators in each room which is great when you have items that need to be kept cool.
Have stayed here before on bussiness. The staff is always friendly and they go out of their way to always accommodate.the room was clean and the bed very confortable. The resturant on property had good food and service.THIS HOTEL IS MY CHOICE OF STAY WHEN IN THE AREA.
Let's see, where do I start? Let's begin with motels location. Its located at the crossroads of Chinle, allowing easy access to the shopping center, fast food outlets and convenience stores. There are guided tours to the Canyon De Chelly Nat'l Monument right outside your room door. Restaurant provides traditional food of the Navajo people in addition to American dishes, which creates a mingling of tourists and local people at one location. It makes for a great social atmosphere even when my trip here mostly business.
I traveled here for business and the hotel room was spotless. I was to weary to drive, so I opted to eat at the Junction Restaurant which was exactly what I needed. I had the fry bread (made from scratch) and the hostess was sweet as can be. I walked out (maybe even rolled out) full and happy. My bed was incredible. So soft, warm an comforting after a long day. I love this place!
Hotel ok, is similar to others in the area. Many of rooms have significant rust problems in the pipes. Chanel 14 in several rooms has no sound for reasons I can't imagine. Internet when working is good, but often I have to reconnect several times or have trouble connecting at all. I guess there must be a lot of free loaders in the area, because they change the password every week. Don't try to have anything mailed to you there unless you can wait a couple of days to get it.
If you ever travel to the Canyon De Chelly area and explore the wonderful canyons Chinle,Az has to offer, I recommend staying at the Best Western hotel. They are so nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and the employees are very helpful. My family and I always stay there and we have no problems. Highly recommend!
Great central location with a fantastic restaurant conveniently located on site. Clean, spacious rooms made for a comfortable overnight stay. This hotel is an oasis of amenities in the middle of the beautiful Arizona high desert.
Everything about our stay was wonderful from the moment we walked into the lobby. It really made you feel that Mr. Silverman was there with you. Room was spacious and very clean even had our favorite artists prints on the wall. Took a 3 hour tour with Tsegi Jeep Tours owned by Bobby Vanwinkle, but by phone he made sure everything we needed was taken care of. Our guide was Dennis and we could not have asked for more. A perfect pairing. Learned much about not only the Canyon but about Chinle itself. A wonderful afternoon. We will be back in the near future for a longer tour. Will and Linda
A colleague of mine recommended this place to me and my stay was very enjoyable. Wi-Fi a big plus, beautiful canyon, the food was very good as well.and not the mention the staff. The lady in the front Johanna was very helpful an informative as well as kind.
comfortable and clean place to stay. Helpful staff and close to a good restaurant. Unlike other best westerns breakfast is not included. Staff is helpful. Tours of canyon de chilly pick you up in the lobby.
Clean, good location for a visit to Canyon de Chelly, AZ and Monument Valley. Rooms are large and clean. Decent internet. No breakfast is included, which was a surprise with a Best Western Hotel. There is a nice Restaurant on site which is great and has outstanding service. I would definitely revisit this hotel.
For a number of reasons mentioned in reviews, we chose Best Western over Thunderbird Lodge. We had intended to stay for 3 nights. Let me start by saying that the front desk staff, with one exception, was great--attentive, friendly, and helpful. The location, however, is not--the property is not attractive in any way and is on a major road, a bit far from the canyon. The room was an ordinary motel room, so it would have been okay if the toilet hadn't flushed with yellow water that smelled of sewage and the parking lot right outside our room hadn't been jack-hammered all day, which was very loud and nerve-wracking. We left the room around 11 a.m., late, but not impossibly so, and returned in the evening to find it had not been straightened up. I went to take a swim--one of the reasons we went for BW--only to find the pool was closed and not expected to reopen. We'd had it--packed up quickly and relocated to the Thunderbird Lodge. A very welcome change, and a bit less expensive to boot.
Its always a pleasure to check into the hotel they always have great gifts ideas in the gifts shop for family and friends. The rooms are clean and fresh. The fitness center is great way to work out too. The restaurant has great traditional meal like Navajo burger's and the Navajo taco's those are just a few of my favorites
Don't expect a layout of Fruit Loops and stale donuts at this BW, spend a couple $ and go to the full service restaurant... EXCELLENT... Carlotta is the perfect hostess and serves up the best chow in town. Fry Bread tacos you would die for. More than you can eat very economical breakfast ... you'll forget all about the obligatory waffle machine and mess. Great room rates more than make up for pay breakfast... with they would do it everywhere. Excellent stay in all respects... great gift shop.
The young lady @ check in was very efficient & pleasant as a few guests arrived @ the same time. Our room requests were honoured & we were pleasantly surprised with the decor & comfort of the room. This is an older property but very well maintained. There isn't a complimentary breakfast offered but the restaurant in the adjoining parking lot is very good with good food & great service.
Been staying here longer than I can remember, and it is always the same, superb! Dad started working with Native Americans over fifty years ago, and this is where we've stayed, as I recall. Might cost more, but it's worth it, to have open green space in the "U" shaped courtyard, comfortable rooms, excellent beds, and staff who want you to be satisfied! Only giving it a 4 since pool wasn't working like I was told it would be. Otherwise there is a nice patio with seating, next to the pool and steam room(not working either). Other guests are friendly, talking, and seem at ease, For to me, it just feels like right, a place you can relax. Which is worth a lot when traveling. My 93 yr old Dad likes this place too. Our room was easy for him to get around, and being able to park in front of room was great.
Staff were very friendly during our stay, very helpful, and good with direction. Very nice indoor pool. Restaurant with in the facility, good place to eat. Rooms are very nice and clean, I for sure will be coming back to this hotel.
There isn't very many options for lodgings at Chinle. I thought staying at the Best Westernwas a good choice. Bed was comfortable, lodging was quiet. Next door was a restaurant. Plus was the fact that the tour we arranged to go into the Canyon De Chelly picked us up in front of the lobby.
I really enjoyed my stay at this Best Western. My room was very comfortable and very clean. My bed was very comfortable and I slept great. I had dinner and breakfast at the Restaurant on the property and received great service. I really enjoyed that Whitehouse overlook breakfast and loved the coffee. The restaurant is very clean and well taken care of as well. I had a great breakfast and enjoyed a walk around the hotel sipping my coffee and relaxing. All staff members were very helpful and made me feel like i was at home. i will definitely be back to stay here again
One of three hotels in Chinle, which is the gateway to this remarkable canyon, indigenous and current Navajo culture. Service everywhere - restaurants, stores, information sites, including Rangers - was superb. The Canyon itself s an important connection to past and present cultures and deserving of respect from travelers and tourists.
The good: clean rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff The bad: - rooms are somewhat dated (even if updated) - hot water is not hot - closer to lukewarm - no breakfast - no jacuzzi - TV didn't have MLB playoff channel - no exhaust fan in the (very tiny) bathroom - somewhat noisy In short, this is an embarassment to best western. Compared to the Best Western view of Lake Powell in Page, AZ, this place is a dump (at the same price)
I was sound asleep after 9 pm when the desk clerk called and woke me up for a routine courtesy call to make sure the room was okay. My inevitable answer was that it was okay until she woke me up. Really, the motel should set a limit for calling people up.
Very nice and updated rooms. Staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Only drawback was there was not a microwave, but we called down to the front desk and they brought us one. Would definitely stay there again.
When I arrived at the hotel. The attendant was not very friendly. I informed her that I had a Hotels.com reservation. She found my reservation and acknowledge it, but then she asked me for more than I had bee quoted by Hotels.com. I asked her what about the price that Hotels.com quoted me. She didn't seem to care and told me that the price is what she had. I then asked if they have AARP discount. She gave me the discount which still ended up with a higher price than the Hotels.com price I had in writing which I showed her. She then told me that she has a different confirmation number than my confirmation number and insisted that the price is what it is. I told her I wasn't going to argue with her about the price and paid her what she asked for. Next time I will be prepared to go somewhere else or at least pay online.
Very nice and clean motel. I was impressed. Checkin and checkout were a breeze. Staff was very nice and friendly. It may sound funny, but the lamps and their switches were very logical and orderly. No work at all in order to turn on a light.
I have been in this hotel many times. Rooms and bathrooms are always clean. Nice tv and coffee maker in each room. I love fast internet they have over there. Restaurant with great food (burgers, pizza, and breakfasts) and fitness center. Everything in the hotel. Basically, this place offers all I want to have on my business trips to this area.
Nice walk-in shower with very good water pressure. The shower head accommodates tall people! Firm enough beds and pillows for our tired, achy bodies. Clean. Altho the hotel was a very busy place, our ground floor room was quite. Would stay at again.
room very comfortable and extremely clean. The price was very affordable. Eatery walking distance and easy access to roadway. Staff were very professional at time of check in and check out. lobby had items for sale not requiring travel to other outlets.
This hotel is a great place to stay, it is in a good location & easy to find, & it is only 5 minutes from Canyon De Chelley, which is well worth a visit. The restaurant for this hotel is located on the opposite side of the courtyard to the lobby. It has a wide selection of food which is of a good quality & well cooked.
This Best western is a standard but good hotel. Located close to Canyon the Chelly, it is perfect when visiting this park. Rooms are good and clean, there is a restaurant on site which also serves breakfast.
This Best Western is an older property, but has been generally well cared for. The reception staff was very professional and helpful, and the lobby and gift shop were quite attractive. We thought the bedding and towels in the room were very good and we slept well. Because they are at the entrance to beautiful Canyon de Chelly, it might be good for them to try to update the facility a bit. (For example, it took us a while to connect to the internet and the phone line was pretty "crackly.") However, on the flip side the prices of the rooms is very reasonable. The adjoining Junction Restaurant was excellent (serves breakfast, lunch and dinner) and is located a short walk across the parking lot.
A typical hotel along the roads in US, but this I think this was far better than the standard. We stayed 2 nights but we did not use the pool or any other facilities since we used the Hotel as a hub while exploring the area and its Historical sites including the Canyon De Chelly.
This place gives BW a bad name. No coffee or cookies in lobby. No discount at restaurant for breakfast.Lobby was nice as well as gift shop. A third at least of motel home to slurry road workers. Noisy boisterous people. Mud all over Park lot due to their truck droppings. Beds / linens sub-par, no bath fan, no micro but did request, 2nd try got to our room. Refer made loud noises all nite, did not complain as They already knew we were let down. Pool closed on Sat for cleaning... dogs barking all nite. A total waste of our time and $$$. Our housekeeper Navajo lady Char was awesome. That is only positive about this place.
Canyon de Chelly has to be seen and experienced to begin to appreciate this center of the Navaho culture. The BW in Chinle is a pleasant and cost effective option to do this. The Navaho Guide will pick you up at the hotel lobby for an unforgettable experience of the Canyon from the inside. Motel has spacious rooms and a good restaurant frequented by the locals.
I stayed here in 2009 and I returned in September 2017, and it was as good a stay as before. The room was clean, the bed comfortable. The placement of the air conditioning unit on the back wall of the room instead of next to a bed was a stroke of genius because it cooled the room without freezing us out! Front desk was responsive to our needs and questions about local tour guides. I am glad I chose this hotel again.
Staff was friendly, quick, and got us in our rooms in no time. Very helpful and accomodating. We were in town for a volleyball tournament, got 5 rooms for two nights and had absolutely no problem. They did everything to get us to want to return and we will.
This facility charges a 5% additional tax levied by the Navajo Nation on top of all the added fees for a total of 19%. Not sure if this is legal since other motels in the area do not charge this tax. (???????). It also does not provide breakfast with the room.
Very pleased with food and service in restaurant. Have stayed here many times in last 15-20 years and the service has always been good. Only issue is water quality probably die to well source. Desk provides free bottled water upon request.
I was on a motorcycle trip with a buddy and we each had separate rooms. The rooms were clean and spacious and the hotel staff was excellent--they were very friendly and accommodating. The beds were very good and our overall comfort was quite good. We'd definitely stay there again!
We had stayed in 2 BW motels in the previous weeks and had a decent experience. The major disappointment was the yellow well water. We did not shower or brush our teeth with the tap water. The resturaunt on the property was only mediocre. The wait staff was very helpful but I would have preferred to have tried another place for breakfast.
I travel through the Navajo Nation area monthly and typically stay at the Best Western Canyon De Chelly Inn. I normally travel to Canyon De Chelly alone on business but, on this particular trip, my wife accompanied me. While I attended to business she took a tour of the Canyon with a company called Beauty Ways. She enjoyed her tour and highly recommended this company. We both enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
The motel looks like it has been recently refurbished. The rooms are very clean, and the staff was very helpful. There is an outdoor pool. The thing I did not like about this motel are the rooms are very dark due to low wattage bulbs. It does not include breakfast but there is a restaurant on site. There is no microwave in the rooms. The bathroom is also quite small. If you get on the ground floor you do not have to carry your stuff upstairs. The air works well.
Previously checked out the other hotels in Chinle, and this one is the one we will always return to when we are in the area. Friendly, helpful staff and a wonderful restaurant. Nice sized rooms and comfortable bed. Lots of TV channels available. Easy to find and close to Canyon de Chelly. Storms caused some power outages during one night, but nothing long-lasting.
Room was dark with lights on, curtain open. Furniture was 1950's and the building section we were in tilted to the parking lot. The bathroom was very small with a small shower and a child size toliet that was full of rusty water when first viewed. The large in-wall air conditioner was maybe 3 feet from the bed. This motel was not worth what they charge. I will stick with Holiday Inn Express.
I travel the Navajo Reservation frequently and particularly love the Canyon de Chelly area. The newly renovated Best Western makes a very comfortable place to stay while in the area. Also, the attached Junction restaurant has the best food and service around.
stay was average considering the location of hotel very remote location i would recommend stay at this location very limited motels in area area does have good hiking locations available restaurant is average prices a little high
Great accomodations in both a convenient location and near a great restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are clean, bedding great, comfortable mattress and quiet. The staff was very helpful in helping with directions and recommendations
I was quoted $82 for the night when I rang Best Western. There was never any mention of the tax not being included and the operator knew I was on a very tight budget. Therefore to find an almost $20 extra charge for the room I was speechless. It should be made clear to visitors to the US that prices do not include tax. In my home country, it is illegal to quote anything other than the full price which includes all taxes, so we expected the same, so having this experience was upsetting. We learnt the hard way. Because we had booked we had to stay but we did not stay for a second night which we had thought to do.
The room was clean and everything was in good working order. The staff was friendly and helpful and there is nice gift shop in the lobby with a good assortment of items for sale. I appreciated the nice gift bag for being a Rewards member. The hotel is only about 10 minutes away from the entrance to beautiful Canyon de Chelly.
An excellent hotel in central town and ideal for visiting the canyon. The hotel offers good facilities rooms are large with two large beds a/c and coffee making. An excellent swimming pool open 7 to 11 and heated so a great asset, good restaurant simple food and a very good shop offering a host of good items. The staff are very friendly and always offer good tips for your enjoyment, would love to go back, prices very realistic.
The rooms are a little dated with the AC around to the back of the room but did eventually cool the room down. Rooms are clean and staff was nice. They do not offer breakfast and although it is a small town there were places to eat that were close by. Perfect place if you are just looking for a nights sleep.
The room was clean and the staff was pleasant and knowledgeable breakfast was in the restaurant next door also the towels were very fluffy and of a reasonable size not small and skimpy as they are in other hotels
Very clean nice Best Western with everything you need: coffee machine, fridge, micro. Nicely decorated room. No breakfast but not expensive restaurant on the premises. Safe environment and very close to Canyon de Chelly. Nice people at the reception and fast and accurate check-in and check-out. We will go back there.
The Best Western and Holiday Inn are really the ONLY places to stay in Chinle and the Best Western has the better restaurant. We arrived on Easter Sunday so the restaurant was closed that day. In that case choose Dennie's. Yep, not a typo. There is a local joint at the entrance to the Canyon which had an interesting mix of people, but rather too local style food. The only way to really experience Canyon de Chelly is to go in with a Navaho guide. Worth the distance and expense. Must be arranged in advance. If your interests are native American culture (past and present); archeology; drammatic southwestern landscape or you just want an amazing adventure immersed in the often unknown and/or unappreciated story of your own country, this is the place for you.
Our family enjoyed the stay and the location for visiting the area and for our guided tour of Canyon de Chelly. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Working condition of TV and Refrigerator were excellent.
Very helpful staff. Very close to the canyon. The restaurant has a good selection and a menu that serves Pizza Hut for the picky kids. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of near by sites. The blue cornmeal for breakfast is so good.
We stayed while on a mission trip to Chinle. The rooms have been remodeled since we were there 2 years ago. Very nice rooms and helpful staff. Our A/C worked well which is important to Texans. The teenagers enjoyed the indoor pool after long days of mission work. We will be back in two years.
Nice place to rest after a long day of driving. Very pleasant late check in. Clean, nicely decorated room with a clean bathroom. Comfortable bed. Got in late and left early to go explore Canyon De Chelly. Room was everything that I needed.
Clean rooms with lots of space. Lots of parking. Staff was very helpful. Quick walk to a great restaurant for some awesome food. Great shower and comfortable beds. Great place to stay and close to Canyon de Chelly
The staff was friendly and helpful. The property was clean and well kept. Ladies at the front desk were wonderful. Rooms were clean but had a weird odor. We put a couple drops of lavander in the A/C and that took care of the odor. The restaurant there was really good.
It's a GREAT place to stay, while visiting the gorgeous canyons in Chinle. Best western also has a magnificant restaurant within walking distance from your rooms. When I get a chance to come home, this hotel is always my first choice.
Clean hotel with very good service. Good restaurant on the property. In-door pool very well maintained. We've stayed here more than once and were pleased both times. Great price and great quality for the price. We'll stay here again on our next trip.
Had to see Canyon De Chelly or our 3-week summer road trip of the Southwest. The hotel is older but in good shape. Rooms were large, but not so well updated. The room had a mild odor, and refrigerator made noises all night. The hotel was extremely inexpensive, so value wise it's hard to complain. Hotel met my lowered expectations, based on the price alone.
I visit this area often on business. I get to experience it also on a leisure basis. This is a very enchanting location with lots of history and culture. It's so much fun to tie in my business with pleasure in such a cool area of the United States. My stays at the Best Western Canyon De Chelly Inn in Chinle always meets my expectations and the folks that work there are so helpful and professional
Very very comfortable place to stay. Friendly staff and great food in restaurant. My kids enjoyed the pool and it was very convenient that restaurant served pizza hut pizzas....loved it!!! Rooms are absolutely clean and comfortable.
This is our place to stay!!! Was on our camping trip in the mountains for about 5 days and we were too tired to travel back home, so we stopped here as always to stay a night and this place has always treated us good. We will always stay at this Best Western. We been to other Best Westerns in Arizona, but they are not as clean and nice as the one in Chinle.
Despite of the hotel rating (2,5 stars) I found this hotel extremely good and well maintained. My husband and I chose it to visit Canyon de Chelly. We got a very large room fully equipped; also the a/c system worked very good and it wasn't noisy at all. Because of a temporary power black out, the hotel management applied us a discount on the rate for the trouble and we appreciated it very much! Breakfast is not included in the hotel rate and it's possible to have it at a nearby restaurant always managed by the same hotel's owners. We tried it and it was good. Staff was very attentive and polite. Highly recommended!
This was a very nice hotel for the price. Well worth the money and a very courteous and friendly. They changed our room to accommodate our needs without haste. The location is easy to find and located near some wonderful sites. This is a location that is on the way to so many other beautiful National parks. I"ll definitely be back.
The staff at the hotel and at the Junction Restaurant were friendly, competent, and helpful. Our waitress, Carletta, went above and beyond to anticipate our needs and connect with us on a personal level. The front office staff was lovely: they offered free water bottles to us as we were about to start an incredible tour of Canyon de Chelly and Canyon del Muerto on the Navajo Reservation. We had pickup service at the hotel for our tour. What a memorable experience this entire vacation was!
Canyon De Chelly Inn is a recommended home away from home. The atmosphere of Navajo Nation is valid and awesome. The native people are very spiritual and sincere. My feelings will remain with me throughout my life.
Our room was on the first floor which made it convenient for moving luggage. There was a gap at the bottom of the door which allowed some creepy-crawlies into the room including a rather large spider which made sleep difficult. The room had a strange smell and the bathroom had no ventilation except a window that opened to the adjacent properties parking lot. It appeared that the room had newer finishes (carpet, paint). The towels were plush but all linens were an off-white yellowish tinge. There was a mini refrigerator in the room but no safe. No USB charging outlets. The kiddos enjoyed the indoor pool.
This Best Western hotel is in a great location near Canyon de Chelly in Arizona. The room was very nice as was our experience. The stay only exception is that there was no breakfast offered and it was the most expensive night of our 8 BW night trip.
The hotel was perfect for our stay in Chinle. It was very good to have a restaurant right in the same complex and the food was very good. All staff, hotel and restaurant were very friendly and gave great service.
Great place with a friendly staff. I enjoyed the pool and had no problems using the in house wifi. It's located near great hiking locations and restaurants. I would definitely suggest staying here on your next visit to The Valley of The Sun.
I have been on a motorcycle all day and the wind at the heat finally did me in. I stopped and asked if rooms were available. They were and for a very fair price. Check in was nice and efficient. Checked on me once I was in the room to see if everything was here and okay. Room is large with a coffee maker. Wifi is okay but not the strongest in the world. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Only comment is that toilet could have been flushed one more time And no insight breakfast of any sort. Said it was because a restaurant was next door. That's true of almost every hotel in the country. At least they could have given a voucher to be used at the restaurant to help defray the cost of the breakfast. This is what they did at a hotel I stayed at in Tuba City.
Great place to stay, welcoming staff, better than other hotels in the area, plus and INDOOR POOL!!! my family enjoyed there stay, canyon over looks are very nice, great place to take the family sightseeing...
If you plan on staying in Chinle, this is THE place to stay. There are only a couple of other places to stay in Chinle, but in my opinion, they appear to be run down. This one is always clean, the prices are reasonable, and the staff are friendly. I also like the fact that I don't have to travel far to eat. They have a restaurant on site and the food is quite good and the menu is huge!
I very often travel to north east Arizona and this is my favorite hotel. Rooms are very clean, stuff is really nice. They serve great food in the restaurant. Breakfasts are super large and so good. Love it! Another very important thing is that internet in rooms is very good.
I expected a touristy, average chain hotel. This property is outstanding. We were greeted by a friendly, professional, knowledgeable front desk representative in a clean, handsome, inviting lobby with a top notch gift store. Our room was up to date, super clean, attractive, had nice amenities (even a "clean remote" for the TV), good restaurant, and clean pool solarium.
Was a Place to stay while visiting family in the area, also a great place for those that are on a vacation, variety of traditional food in the Junction Restaurant that's yummy, Indoor Pool a Plus. Friendly staff at BW and Junction Restaurant.
Nicely appointed two-queen room. Bath a little small but it does the trick while on a sightseeing road trip. Refrigerator. Coffee maker. Breakfast not included, but Junction Restaurant is on the property and is great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rooms very clean. Two-story motel with plenty of parking. Small tourist shop in the lobby.
Was a great weekn had fun seeing the sights canyon de chelly was beautiful the people are great.. enjoyed my room and the food at the junction resturant was bomb.. .. the whitehouse burrito the best! Kapow!
We had a great experience at this hotel. Everyone was very friendly and our room was clean. There is no breakfast here, but there is a restaurant on the property. We ate dinner there and breakfast the next morning. The food was excellent. I must give a "shout out" to Johanna on the front desk....she was so helpful!
Shower did not work. Water from sink faucet brownish. Dead and live bugs in room. Left a day early to find a hotel in New Mexico that was clean and where we could shower. Staff were pleasant but mod=tel dirty and facilities in bathroom sower out of order.
The rooms were clean and well furnished. Excellent and professional service from the motel staff. The onsite restaurant, Junction, was outstanding. Great food and attentive service. A strong training program was obvious.
This is a nice motel that offers clean and comfortable rooms with free wi-fi. Unfortunately, during our stay, the water in the room was dark yellow, and we did not even dare take a shower as we thought we would get out dirtier than we were !!! There is a gym and indoor swimming pool with lounge chairs outdoor. Right on the parking lot but we still enjoyed it. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Rooms are renovated and clean. AC well functioning. Good mattress. Good restaurant in premises. Attentive staff. Very convenient to other services and for tour pick up. Only negative is that the room does not have enough electrical outlets for charging phones, computers, etc. and none close to bed side tables.
The Best Western Canyon de Chelly Inn is an older property but we were pleased to find that it is kept in extremely good condition. Our king room was spacious, very clean, and attractively decorated. A huge plus is that TWO luggage racks were in the room! This is a simple accommodation but so many mo/hotels supply one or none. The staff in the hotel as well as the on-site restaurant couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. I'd say that the prices are a bit high but there are only three hotels in Chinle and all charge about the same, so there is little choice if you want to visit Canyon de Chelly. In addition, the state and reservation taxes add up quickly. But apart from that, the Best Western Canyon de Chelly Inn is a very good base for touring the Canyon and environs.
The "Hotel" is motel style. The rooms are large and clean. Bathroom was modern to me. Bed and Pillows were comfortable. The A/C unit seemed a little noisy and the room a bit dated but for the price I really can't complain. Be advised there is a reservation tax and state tax added to the room rate. Each and every person we ran into on the staff was polite, helpful and friendly.
Great place. clean and up to date. good internet. Like the rooms. slept well. bed was comfortable. Did a quick stay and went well. Used the bus center computers and they were fast for game and online access. Overall, place was clean. Good value for the area. Its a real remote place and the hotel was good.
Great nights rest quite Great comfortable Beds Great food at Restaurant Great speed on the internet The best hotel in Chinle AZ Too stay at I would recommend anyone wanting the best place to stay at to check out The Best Western Hotel and Restaurant
The staff were nice, but overall the property needs work. The water in the room smelled like sulfur and had a yellow tint to it. The AC unit was loud and the room was not really big enough for two queen beds. The breakfast was not acceptable (bring your own food).
Attentive, and friendly staff. They made me feel right at home. Room was clean with excellent amenities. The restaurant is on-site and serves delicious meals. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
We spent 2 nights and 3 days at Canyon de Chelly staying in the Best Western. Having stayed in all sorts of hotels from grand to modest we always hope for the same thing, clean. This hotel had lovely staff and accommodated our needs with pleasant attitudes. The Canyon and people we met on the Navajo Nation were so outstanding it was one of the best trips we ever had.
Staff were very friendly at the front desk. Excellent place to stay, rooms were clean and bed was very comfortable. Restaurant just a few feet away. Was not offered an Express Check out but I asked for it, but I did check out.
True, there are not many options for a place to stay in Chinle. However, this hotel's rooms reminded us of the Super 8 back in the 90s. Dark room, rickety furniture, poorly lit. No breakfast included for over 115 dollars? It is a rip-off! Plus we were given the wrong WiFi code at check in...
A nice motel with spacious rooms close to the beautiful Canyon De Chelly. No meals were provided, but a restaurant was on site. The big advantage of this motel was the location. Hikes in Canyon the Chelly at sunset - a real must!
I was satisfied with the cleanliness of the rooms, very nice. The indoor pool was cold, no hot tub but has a hot sauna. There is no continental breakfast. So, from the price of the hotel, we couldn't afford to pay full price breakfast at the Restaurant.
Nice motel with restaurant right next door. As other reviews have stated it s two story unit and no elevator Enter from the parking lot. to your room. We ate at the restaurant next door and the food was very good. No breakfast with your stay. Either eat next door or take a ride to Denny's, Burger King or one of the other motels that have restaurants. Nice size rooms. Would stay again. Nice gift shop. People are very nice and friendly.
I love coming to stay here. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. One of my favorite amenities is the indoor pool with the sauna! Definitely a huge plus! I love this property because it is always so clean and I stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms close to the gym! Best way to start the day is to hit the gym and then go eat at the restaurant. It's really excellent food and I will definitely be back to this Best Western!
We stayed here on 4/28 while visiting C de C. The motel is an older two story BW that has been nicely updated. Our room was quite large, had been recently renovated. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The main room was a little dark and the bathroom was small. Overall, it was fine for us. The hotel does not include breakfast in their room rate. You can get (buy) breakfast at the Junction restaurant next door and it has a good breakfast. We'd recommend staying here if you are visiting C de C.
I love staying at the Best Western in Chinle. It is the best motel available in the area. The rooms are always VERY clean and the staff knowledgeable. They even have a gift shop that offers a great selection of trinkets to buy for your friends and loved ones.
Really enjoyed the experience staying here staff was very friends and rooms were great. Breakfast was tasty. Gym was well setup for a quick work out. Would definitely recommend if you need a place to stay in the area.
This is a great place to stay for a reasonable price. The staff will try hard to fill your request and they are extremely friendly and courteous. It is very easy to cancel and/or change your reservation. WE would definitely return.
Yellow water is enough to turn off any positives about this very lacking motel. Add no breakfast and a distortedly high price for bad taste. Blend in a very dark room, bleak interior, tiny bath area with little area for toiletries to make a recipe for a "Don't Stay Here" pie. Oh, and they didn't make up our beds each morning. If a comfortable bed, fridge and spacious rooms trump these negatives, go for it.
Stayed here one night on our weekend to see Canyon de Chelly. Check in was smooth. Cute gift shop in the lobby. Rooms were clean and nice. Hard to get used to the yellow water in the toilet but that's my only complaint.
The hotel was very clean and the room was very nicely laid out. The hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful in any way you needed them. We had no microwave and had a lot of Chinese food leftover and they immediately had the maintenance man bring us a microwave.
When we want to get away for a bit we don't even consider any other hotel property to stay at. Friendly service, great restaurant, and right in the middle of town. Just a couple minutes drive to groceries gas and the local sites!
Best place to stay for Canyon de Chelly. Restaurant on premises is very good. Room clean and adequate. Bathroom water was brown which we did not expect. Excellent staff. That's all I need to say concerning this motel.
It was good, I enjoyed our visit We are likely to return Your staff were professional The rooms were adaquate I like the location I don't want to write anymore so let me get off this web site Thanks, Have a great day
My son and I had excellent two night stay at the Best Western. We ate all our meals at the Junction Restaurant which was super convenient and very tasty food. The beds were in good shape, the hotel is very quiet and very spacious room.
We expected pricing to be higher because of the remote location but we paid $98 plus taxes for 2 queen beds. The room was nicely appointed, clean and the beds were very comfortable. There is a restaurant on site however we ate at a Dennys just down the road which appears to be fairly new. The hotel does not accept pets even at an additional fee.
Excellent staff. Good on-site restaurant. Older property could use some up-dating. Small bathrooms and a very tiny sink counter. There is no morning breakfast included. Our Beauty Way tour guide Don was excellent and we recommend them. Canyon de Chelly is very spectacular.
We were visiting Canyon de Chelly National Monument. Decided to stay here for the night. The motel is very nice and clean. The staff is very accommodating. Good internet and TV. They do not offer breakfast and it is on the expensive side, but still a good place to stay.
One night stay Spacious room, clean, beds were firm, not old. Reasonable rates. No breakfast included, I thought BW had complementary breakfasts. Reception fest staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. I would recommend this place
Our car broke down near here and they were able to get us a room even though it was late. The room was clean and quite. Service was friendly and efficient. They were tolerant of us hanging around and waiting for a tow truck. No breakfast provided, but there is a restaurant on site. Likely they get their water from a well as we noticed water quality of the bath/shower wasn't the best.
We were touring the area and especially Canyon de Chelly so booked rooms overnight at this hotel. The staff was friendly and courteous and there's a nice little gift shop at the registration area. Rooms were spacious and clean and a restaurant is nearby (The Junction). Overall, we'd definitely stay here again.
The room smelled musty and of strong cleaners, not pleasant. When I turned the water on in the bathroom it came out orange and was orange in the toilet. Hated to take a shower but I had to. Staff were very professional and welcoming.
Stayed at best western in canyon de chelly rented 2 rooms, perfect location for access to canyon, jeep tour picked us up at hotel lobby. The junction restaurant next door is excellent. Hotel Staff friendly and helpful. Definitely will stay at this hotel again
Thank you...Just awesome Thank you staff! thank you No issues.. very comfortable, everyone very friendly. ....thank you very much. had a good time at canyon. Junction restaurant... very filling and awesome.
We came to town to attend a funeral. I chose BW because it's what I used before at other locations. The place is adequate for our accommodation need. We're out most of the days and just need a place to crash. Onsite restaurant was satisfactory. Front desks staff were friendly and positively accommodating. Service was good and beds were made when we came back. Its definitely not the best but not the worst either.
We had a wonderful stay at Best Western. The staff and accommodations are excellent. Every time we stay at Best Western Canyon de Chelly is a good experience. Best Western is our stay of choice. The staff is great to work with. Thank you!
This is a typical BW hotel -- lots of rooms, no elevators for second level rooms, and noisy heating/cooling units. Bathroom is small and the number of outlets is really limited (I unplugged the clock/radio to get another access). WiFi worked well but a bit slow. Room was clean and bedding was comfortable. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. There is a fridge in the room.
Enjoyed seeing Canyon De Chelly and Indian ruins (very scenic). Also enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Hotel in Chinle, Az. The adjacent restaurant "The Junction" had good food and variety. The staff were quite cheerful and friendly.
Room was comfortable and clean. Front desk personnel were not very cordial but other workers were helpful and friendly. Breakfast is not provided but there is a Subway a short distance from motel and a restaurant on the motel grounds. Room appeared to have been updated some and had no issues with it. It was not one of better motel values on trip but you have limited options in Chinle.
This is a motor-court type of hotel - 2 stories. Very clean and comfortable, updated decor. We had an upper room that had some nice extras - fridge, coffee pot, microwave, hair drier, hd tv, cable, and free wifi. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The room was spacious and better than average.
We had a wonderful stay at Canyon de Chelly. The staff and accommodations are excellent. Every time we stay at Best Western Canyon de Chelly is a good experience. We are a non-profit organization called Adopt A Native Elder and when we and our volunteers take food to the Elders on the Navajo Reservation, Best Western is our stay of choice. The staff is great to work with. Thank you!
Bottom line is that Chinle is a small town, and there's really only two other options. We found the room clean and comfortable, and the Junction Restaurant is on the premises, good place to eat. The hotel does not offer a complimentary breakfast. I would recommend staying here, however, there were some annoying issues. Our refrig was not working and the young lady at reception seemed to think that I did not know how to set the thermostst. Luckily, another receptionist, Brianna, went to check it out and we found a seriously overloaded electrical outlet with the refrig not getting a full current. She changed around the octopus of electrical cords and we were in business. Later, the toilet would not flush and I found a nut off the flush lever. Easy to fix, but makes you wonder how it could be left that way. Brown water when you turned on the shower each evening. And the pipes hammered very noisily, both ours and the neighboring room. It's an older property, but still acceptable.
This hotel was conveniently located near Canyon de Chelly. Our guide for the CDC tour picked us up outside our door. We ate at the restaurant located in the parking lot of this hotel which served us a good dinner. The room, while dated, was clean and spacious. The staff was pleasant. Overall our experience was good.
My hubby and I chose this motel for our first ever trip to Canyon de Chelly in part due to its proximity to the Junction restaurant and based on positive reviews here. This is pretty much your classic motel, with room access from the parking lot. We had a room on the ground floor, and it was spacious and comfortable. It looked like it had been recently remodeled. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and despite being on the ground floor the nights were very quiet. The room had a single cup coffee maker and a mini-fridge, both of which we appreciated during our 3 night stay. Our only small issues were: there was a very strong, cloying soapy perfume pervading the room after it was refreshed each day. We had to open windows and crack the door to get rid of it. I appreciate a clean room, but perhaps switching the housekeeping crew to a perfume free cleaner would be advisable. Also, on our second day the tap and toilet water took on a distinctly reddish color. This isn't something we blame the motel for, but we did supply ourselves with some bottled drinking water. Our guess was that that was a municipal water issue, and given that Chinle is situated in very dry desert country it was not difficult to imagine there might be water quality issues from time to time. All things considered, this was a clean, comfortable place to stay, and we would not hesitate to stay here again should we return to Canyon de Chelly.
Given that the town itself is relatively small, we were pleasantly surprised to find that this hotel was a great place to stay. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the indoor pool after a day in the canyon. Breakfast and dinner at The Junction Restaurant were quite good. We would definitely stay here in the future should we visit this area again.
Older building in need of restoration. The "heated" pool was very cold. The sinks are too low, and i'm not very tall. Restaurant in the parking lot is very convenient, and the food is great. Considering the very limited options in Chinle, it was good enough.
There is little to do in Chinle. We were there to explore and discover Canyon de Chelly. We did just that and had a delightful time. But the city itself is small, quiet and non-descript. Keep that in mind. There is a grocery store and we were able to stock our cooler up, which was timely for us. The hotel itself was fine. We had dinner there and had the stir-fry which was generous and tasty. The staff was friendly and we had no problems with the hotel at all. If you are planning to do a horse tour we highly recommend Justin's Horse tours. We had a great time.
There is nothing special about this property, the lobby and souvenir shop at the entrance area are deceiving, the rooms are spacious but basic, we had a mini fridge and microwave, same as in just about any motel we have stayed before, but for a premium price. They offer no breakfast. Upon checking out, I was shocked to see how many different charges and taxes we were charged, on top of the overpriced amount of the room, including a Navajo Nation surcharge for exactly what services offered outside of the regular taxes? we left the area with an overall feeling of being ripped off just for being "white". Not worth my hard earned cash.
Chinle is not the most attractive of towns but it was well worth staying in the area for two nights in order to visit the beautiful Canyon de Chelly. Our greeting at reception was very friendly and we were given, as requested, a room on the upper floor (there are no elevators, not that it bothered us). The room was a “typical motel type”, not overly inspiring, but clean, comfortable and very quiet. We enjoyed two breakfasts and two evening meals at the on-site Junction Restaurant, the food was great (loved the Navajo Tacos and frybread) but what really stood out was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. The canyon was just a short distance away; on the day of our arrival we drove the north rim and on our full day we took a morning tour into the canyon and drove the south rim to Spyder Rock in the afternoon.
Good Hotel for a quick trip to Chenly. It is located right off the highway and everyone is very friendly and helpful. Great staff... The restaurant provided good food and the staff was wonderful. Had a great time and would go back.
This is one of the only options close to Canyon de Chelly. It is a clean well maintained older property. The room was spacious and appeared to be nearly renovated. We did not like the air freshener odor that was very strong upon arrival. We had to open the windows and doors to get rid of it. Also the AC unit was very noisy. The staff at the hotel were all very professional and friendly. There is no breakfast provided which we found a bit unusual at a Best Western. The restaurant next door was ok but not great.
Nicely renovated and clean hotel with a restaurant. The room and bed were very comfortable. Wifi was excellent. The Junction restaurant was fine. Not very many healthy options on the menu, but it was adequate.
Stayed here one night. Arrived about 20 minutes before check in and was refused service until check in time, along with several other folks waiting until the exact time of check in. Room was adequate but could not even get a cup of coffee in the morning until the restaurant opened.
Very comfortable / clean rooms; staff pleasant and friendly, Location near Canyon de Chellypark entrance is excellent. Adjacent Junction Restaurant was very poor - food was brought to table so quickly it had to have been prepared long before we arrived and then microwaved but partially cold.
Was given a lovely room and everything was perfect. Perfect after a long drive over there and a little paradise in the middle of nowhere. For food, pop down the road to the new Denny's which is delicious and great value for money. It seemed like the room we were given in the hotel was almost either newly done or remodelled/redecorated recently - it was spotless and fantastic!
we just loved the personnel at the best western Canyon De Chelly Inn.From check in to checking out very kind big smiles. The pool and hot sauna was real nice after a long wandreding around the Canyon.Didn,t eat at the restaurant but we did go and see the canyon. The staff were real nice at checking in.A young lady was there and gave you all the details you needed to get to your room and all the equiment that was available to use.the gym was nice as was the sauna and pool.Over all one of the nice's best western we have stayed at in a long long long time so thank you best western for that.
We spent three nights at this hotel and were very pleased. Every surface has been updated inside the room. The building must be made of solid concrete bricks because the rooms were very quiet. We were on the first floor and could not hear anyone walking above, even on the stairs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. We used the heater just to take the chill off the room and it was fine. Free Wi-Fi was great and we ate five times at The Junction Restaurant which is part of the hotel complex. Having a nice place to stay made our visit to the beautiful Canyon de Chelly very special.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Clean room. Great location for visiting Canyon DeChelly. Restaurant located between wings of hotel so once you arrive you don't have to get back in car to find some place to eat.
The staff and room were fine for the area, but the bed was so hard and the A/C was so loud. After an 8 hour day of driving we just wanted a good nights rest but we were both awake every hour or so changing positions or hearing the loud noise of the a/c kick on.
The motel is in town, a few miles from the canyon. There is a very nice heated indoor pool and a restaurant right across the parking lot from the main building. My room was modern, clean and quiet. Rate was reasonable except for a lot of add-on taxes. Staff was very friendly.
the nicest place to stay when visiting canyon de chilly national monument, excellent service, pleasantly decorated rooms. good wifi, comfortable beds. restaurant at motel has very good food & service. located close to canyon entrance.
I've stayed at this hotel a few times. Each time, the staff has been very friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff, in particular, makes a point of saying, "Hello", with a smile on their face--such a welcome greeting.
Very Nice place to visit to enjoy Native American culture. The staff here are all Native American and very helpful. My room was extremely clean and amenities were very nice. The property was very nice and i got a great nights sleep, the bedding was very comfortable . i have stayed here before and have yet to be disappointed. i highly recommend this location.
great property--new, clean, good décor, comfy. Value was definitely there. Restaurant next door is good--too large servings, but good. Gift shop at hotel is worth a long browse--not kitschy stuff. handy to Canyon de Chelley. Only thing that surprised me was no food service (a banana, cup of yogurt, anything). Keurig in room coffee.
We stopped in Chinle during our visit to Canyon de Chelly. Chinle doesn't offer too much but the level of this Best Western is definitely high. Good room, clean. A very nice swimming-pool. Staff was extremely friendly.
My stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The staff were very accommodating both in the restaurant and the hotel. I was there for business so I did not get the chance to venture out and check out the local area.
The staff at this hotel are extremely helpful and friendly. A maintenance staff member saw we were having trouble getting into our room and quickly came to our rescue. Turns out the lock that you put your key card into needed new batteries. Then we couldn't figure out how to operate the A/C-heater unit so a staff person who was leaving for the day came to our rescue and showed us how to operate it. About the only downside is this Best Western does not offer a free breakfast like other Best Westerns we've stayed at. That's because there is a very good restaurant right next door.
The staff and room were excellent. We had a little problem getting the AC to work and one of the staff came over immediately and fixed it. I only wished they had the standard "free" breakfast. We had breakfast at the attached Junction Restaurant for restaurant prices.
I did not know what to expect from this motel as the reviews are mixed. However we turned up and were pleasantly surprised. We arrived early at around 10am and they were able to book us in immediately in a top floor room. The first thing I noticed when I opened the door was the smell of new carpet. Then we went into the bathroom and this was newly renovated. This motel is not posh, and it does not boast anything special, however it is clean and quite cheap. The Junction restaurant is the only one in this very small town and serves cheap and cheerful food. The town has Bashai's, a supermarket where we got our sandwiches for the day, and we found the staff there to be friendly and accommodating. We wanted to use the town coin laundry but were advised by a local that sometimes white washing will stain pink due to the sediment in the rock. There are three choices of motel in town, this one in the town, the Holiday Inn at the entrance of the Canyon, and Thunderbird in the Canyon which has dire reviews. Whilst the Holiday Inn is nearer the canyon (by five minutes), it looks dark and dreary as opposed to the Best Western. We had two quiet night's sleep and were pleased with the motel.
I wanted to visit the Canyon de Chelly and take a jeep tour. This hotel is located just a few miles from the entrance to the canyon. I spent two nights at this Best Western. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. The cable TV selection was limited. The mini refrigerator in our room was especially noisy and we ended up unplugging it so we could sleep. Both nights there were some loud guests hanging out in the parking lot which kept us awake. Adjacent to the hotel is a restaurant which serves meals most of the day. The hotel lobby staff were pleasant.
indoor swimming pool freezing cold. coffee pots in room poor condition and coffee was very bad, feel sorry for staff that had to clean up after leaking in room coffee pots. we tried putting multiple bags of coffee into the pot and still coffee was weak weak weak. hated the coffee there.
2nd largest canyon in USA, jeep tour into canyon was informative and very pretty. The hotel restaurant was exceptional with many choices on menu. The locals were friendly and helpful. Lots of opportunities available for purchasing souvenirs.
Nothing special, but clean with a restaurant & subway located next door. Nice people. We did a jeep tour which ended after check out, & they allowed us a late check out with no problem. People @ the front desk were very nice. There's an indoor pool & refrigerator in the room.
There is nothing fancy about this hotel (the shower tile was nice) however it had a nice fitness room and the bed was comfy. There is a resteraurant next store so you don't have to go far for food. It provide us a nice nights workout and sleep
Good location, good restaurant. Room was clean, bed comfortable, wifi worked fine. Check in, check out easy. Staff recommended Sayit Jeep Tours and Bobby Van Winkle was our tour guide for Canyon de Chelly. He was excellent. We loved the 3 hour tour. Well worth the $$. I highly recommend this tour.
We didn't actually stay on property. We were to meet our tour (Canyon de Chelly Tours) in the lobby of this hotel. They were over 1 1/2 hours late and then when they finally did show up, very unacceptable. Kim, the owner of the Best Western, assisted us in getting a last minute tour with a different company "Beauty Way Tours". She went out of her way to help us, and we didn't even stay on property. You can bet we will next time we are here. It's nice to see Customer Service at it's best.
All the staff were very polite and helpful during my stay. Rooms are nice and clean. The pool was just what we needed after a long hot day. Junction Restaurant is a very good place to eat. Very satisfied with our stay.
The room was clean and everything in working order. A little pricey for a older hotel and taxes too high. They had a Tribal tax for the Navajo Tribe. From what I could tell that tax only helps a few, because most of the Indians I saw looked very poor.
We stayed here on July 2016 during a 3 week trip out West. Remodeling of the hotel was in progress. Our room had just been finished. New carpet, fresh paint, brand new bathroom fixtures, faucets, etc. We were very, very pleased. Only disappointment was in the lack of a complimentary breakfast. However, the Junction Restaurant is on site. We didn't try it.
We stayed overnight here after visiting Canyon de Chelly. The room was clean and comfortable. Part of the hotel was being renovated, a good sign that the owners are updating the property. The young lady who checked us in was very pleasant and called after we had reached our room to make sure everything was okay. Breakfast was not included but there is a restaurant on the property and other options in town. I would stay here again.
There are only three hotels in Chinle and no others for many miles so choices are limited. They are also overpriced for what you get, but "pas de choix" if you're visiting Canyon de Chelly. The cheapest is Thunderbird Lodge located just inside the national monument. The Best Western is the largest and closest to town. First, there is no Pizza Hut (as suggested by a previous reviewer) associated with the hotel nor is there one in Chinle. There is however the Junction Restaurant in the center of the 3-sided complex and a Subway/gas station adjacent. Room was spacious and perfectly nice with good AC. I have no comment on staff because my only interaction was checking in/out. I would likely choose this BW on a return visit.
We visited Canon de Chelly and stayed at this convenient location. Nice service and room. Very cordial personnel. Would stay here again. After a long drive we were please that the Junction Restaurant is right there!
We've stayed at many B/W's, and have really enjoyed them! This one was definitely way below our expectations!!! Dingy rooms, plastic thing over door lock, making it hard to open if you don't have both hands free, no breakfast of any kind! Not worth the price we paid. We were happy we were only there 1 night!!!
We were fine here and slept well although I found the pool to be a little murky and the ambiance was a bit dismal. For the location (near Canyon de Chelly) it was perfect and there was a Pizza Hut part of the restaurant on the premises!
This hotel is simple and the rooms were clean. It is extremely convenient to Canyon de Chelly Park. The staff were very accommodating. There is a covered pool on the property. Two issues...there is no breakfast buffet and the wiring in bathroom was a little scary.
The hotel was very clean and a great place to rest for the night. We ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent. The kids played in the pool and had a great time. I would recommend it to anybody staying in the area.
Stayed one night when passing through the area. I was tired and had not been feeling well so perhaps that colored my perspective on how comfortable the bed was! Loved it! Check in/check out was efficient. The room was stuffy when we entered but threw open the slider and aired it out. Quiet, comfortable. Restaurant on the premises. I would definitely stay again.
There aren't many places to stay in Chinle. I had stayed previously at the Holiday Inn and wanted to try the Best Western. This motel room was freshly painted and very clean. The desk staff were friendly and accommodating. It is a short ride to the canyon from here and the Junction Restaurant is right on site. This is not a luxury hotel, so don't look for the typical amenities, but it is perfect for travelers who are there for the history and culture.
Property surprisingly well maintained with clean rooms, attractive grounds, and what I personally like, a motel where you an park in front of your room. But, if you are used to complimentary breakfast, be ready to pay, and I do mean pay. They don't even offer coffee (except that awful packaged stuff in the room). Two of us had 2 cups each, over $11, just for the coffee. Though front desk personnel not real nice or professional, our overall stay was quite pleasent.
A clean, convenient, comfortable but pricey option for visiting the fantastic Canyon de Chinle nearby. The town feels remote and a little rough, so the hotel and restaurant feel somewhat like an oasis. The welcome isn't warm, and the extra Indian taxes make the price expensive and doesn't win friends, but the restaurant staff are friendly and food is good. Overall pretty good, but the Holiday Inn up the road towards the canyon looks better from the outside. The canyon is definitely worth a visit
Stayed for one night on our way from Grand Canyon to Durango. Pleasant reception with large recently refurbished rooms and a good quality separate on site restaurant. Unlikely to be in area again, but wouldn't hesitate to recommend for short stay.
This was a great location for our visit to Canyon De Chelly! The room was clean, beds were comfortable and amenities were certainly adequate. Reasonably priced for the area and staff was very friendly. One piece of advice--if taking a tour of the Canyon, ask for a guide that is knowledgable and informed regarding the history of the area and the inhabitants of the Canyon. The scenery in the Canyon was awe inspiring, however, the guide we had was not great. Do the hike to the White House ruins in early morning--weather is better!
The restaurant was pretty good. It had a nice menu selection. The wait staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel was a different matter. There's a few things that I expect when traveling, comfortable bed, clean room and hot water for a shower. This hotel had no hot water. Also I think it's over priced for what it is.
Stayed one night on vacation through the Southwest. Reasonably priced rooms, clean and well-maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Though there was no free breakfast, an on-site restaurant offered local and standard menu items.
Have stayed here before on several business trips. Navajo staff is very nice and welcoming. Room is clean and well supplied. Internet service is fast. They have a great restaurant next door called Junction that has a Pizza Hut as well as a full service menu. Very good
I hesitated to try another Best Western after several really bad ones on previous vacations. The staff immediately greeted me and checked me in. They had us on the second floor but we are on a 30 day trip and we had too much luggage. They do not have an elevator (2story) and it was switched to the first floor - no problem. There was a gift shop with authentic Native American items, t-shirts and I bought an earring. We received a call from the front desk after we got settled checking to see if everything was satisfactory. A nice touch we thought. There is a restaurant next door but there was no problem with noise (they close at 9PM) or parking. The beds were comfortable with four pillows per bed. The sink was separate from the shower, it was great for getting ready with three people (husband, self and son). The air conditioner looked brand new and was fairly quiet - rare in hotel rooms. Thank you BW Canyon de Chelly Inn for an enjoyable and comfortable stay.
We stayed only one night, but it was a very nice, Clean hotel with friendly staff. Room was quite spacious with a separate toilet area in the bathroom. Always a plus as far as I'm concerned. The air conditioner is located away from the sleeping area so one isn't bothered by the fan blowing or going on and off. Another plus. It's right next door to what's likely the best restaurant in town.
Whenever in Chinle, I stay at the Best Western in Canyon de Chelly. It is a nice property, clean accommodations and a very cheerful staff at front desk. I frequently buy books from their gift shop for gifts when in the area. Nice cook books and Navajo history books. It appears to be tourist season so very busy this month. Weather is great. The restaurant next door is always busy and good food. They are open all day. I like the food at the Junction Restaurant as it is cooked to order. This is an older hotel but they seem to keep it up in good working order. The tour jeep companies are great here also.
Great location in close proximity to Canyon de Chelly (<5 min). The motel itself was overall disappointing. The bed was uncomfortable, my wife actually moved to my son's rollaway bed during the night. Pool was nice, but the water temp was too low for prolonged enjoyment. Not sure if we would stay here again. Just FYI, BYOB, no alcoholic beverages available anywhere in the area.
This is a good two story motel. As far as I could tell there is nothing else in this isolated region that compares with it. Our room was large with two queen beds. The bathroom was not what I really like but adequate. Heating and cooling units were ok. There is a good restaurant on site and a Subway very close. Breakfast is not included in the price of the room. I do not believe they have evevators.
I verified with the staff member 3 times while checking in that the price included taxes and fees. I was told the mattresses were all pillow tops, they were not. We were told the pool was heated, it was cold. The gathering and breakfast room was turned into a gift shop. When I went to check out in the morning the bill was $30 more than quoted. When I called customer service they informed me they weren't there for the conversation so there was nothing they could do. We will not be staying at Best (worst) Western tonight!
Rooms were fine and internet was strong. I got a good nights sleep. Easy to get to Canyon de Chelly National Monument. Overall it is a fine place to stay. I didn't eat the restaurant, but it looked adequate.
Firstly the hotel, more of a motel is clean, basic but friendly and we would recommend it as a place to stay. However we stayed Easter Saturday, arriving just after 6.30pm to be told the restaurant attached to the hotel closes at 7.30pm (not sure if this is the usual time or because it was Easter weekend) So we quickly got ourselves there, enjoyed a very nice meal but noticed a sign saying they were closed in the am ie no breakfast! So we ended up finding a local supermarket, luckily still open and buying in food. It would have been very helpful if this had been made clear in advance.
Great location in the heart of Navajoland with a good little restaurant on the hotel grounds. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The bathrooms have been updated and customized since my last visit 5 months ago. The room and beds are clean and very comfortable, I slept like a wet log! LOL
Chinle is a fairly remote area. We found the hotel very clean, quiet, comfortable, and everything worked as it should. The staff were very helpful and informative. We arrived very late and had no trouble finding the hotel and getting checked in fast. We stayed 2 nights and would stay here again.
I always choose the Best Western in Chinle if I need to lodge for the night. I am in sales for hospitality in the Northern part of the state and Utah so I stay at allot of hotels. This is not a fancy hotel but a clean and well kept motel. The Navajo employees are hard working nice people. My room was very clean with nice linen and towels. Internet speed was good too and free. Looks like they are doing improvements again. They seem to be always busy. There is a really good restaurant on the property so no walking distance, that serves a great menu. Open all day. Good food and service. It is called Junction. Oh, check their book selection out.
loved the updated bathroom, bed was firm but the stay was very nice! Clean environment and the restaurant was very convenient across the parking lot. Quiet and had no issues. Price was a little high but the updates compensated it. Would stay here again.
Stayed here a few times. The Best Western in Canyon de Chelly is always a good choice. It is clean and the front desk girls always follow up if I request anything. This time I needed extra towels and called and they were delivered in 5 minutes. The hi speed internet is free at this hotel and is always good. I have had to pay at other hotels. The reservation has slow speed even at the Grand Canyon so surprisingly, this Best Western has good hi speed. They do a good job keeping this older property in good order. The restaurant next door has good food and service and you can get your food to go if you want. The menu has everything on it, even Native American dishes and Pizza. It is also very clean. I work on the Navajo Reservation so stay at many hotels and this one is always consistent with cleanliness.
We had a quick efficient check-in and check-out. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was on the second floor. It was very clean and nicely decorated. The king-sized bed was comfortable and quiet. It had a refrigerator but no microwave. The entry to the room is from an outside balcony (exterior corridor). There is no continental breakfast provided, but there is a restaurant on-site (The Junction Restaurant). We drove down the road about a mile and had breakfast at a Denny's. This is a very small town and there aren't a lot of options for eateries or other motels.
The Best Western has the feel of a 1950s motor hotel. The rooms are small and a little dingy and the heating/cooling unit on the wall never kept a constant temperature so that all night it was cool for a while, then warm, then cool again. Neither of us slept well. At the same time, the office staff and the personnel at the restaurant couldn't have been nicer and were kind enough to let us check out a day early so we could travel on.
I travel to the Chinle area every few months on business. When in this area, I always choose the Best Western Hotel in Canyon de Chelly. The staff is friendly and always helpful. The motel rooms have always been clean and the housekeeping staff helpful. I also use the indoor pool which is nice. There is a restaurant next door on the same property called the Junction that serves good food and fine service. It is open all day long.
Best hotel in Chinle by a big margin. Only a short drive from Canyon de Chelly. Be sure to eat at the onsite restaurant for some good food - including Navajo specials. We would stay there again and reccomend it highly.
This was the 4th Best Western we stayed at on our AZ road trip and only one that did not offer a breakfast, this was a negative. The attached restaurant was 'ok' but not that great especially when we had experienced great deluxe breakfasts at our previous Best Westerns in Tucson, Safford and Eager. We took the Canyon Tour with a local guide and was very satisfied with the 3 hour tour. If staying at this motel, be sure to take time to enjoy the bottom of the canyon floor. We had been here 2 years before and regretted we did not sign up for the tour so here we were back again just for that and it was worth it.
Nothing special but OK for a night. Room was fine though it did have an odor of cleaning materials. Staff was a bit off-hand. Convenient to highway and the Canyon de Chelly National Park and Visitor Center.
Our group did the Canyon De Chelly park tour late April, came out tried and hungry. Hotel was clean and close. Normal Best Western Hotel, but no Breakfast and no ticket to the restaurant for breakfast, which is unusual. Not a problem for us. We were moving on anyway. The restaurant that night was crowded and thought would be good choice. In our group half food was good and half was not. Maybe what we had, since we both had the same food.
We visited the Reservation last spring with a mission group and stayed here. Their Junction Restaurant is one of our favorite places to eat and the rooms are nice, but nothing special. We were in four rooms paid for through Expedia and gave them credit cards to cover incidentals. When we came home one of our couples was charged for their room, $634! I've been trying, without success, to get the money returned. And I'll keep trying... A good place to stay but watch your credit card and be very clear about the charges!!!
This is our third trip to Canyon de Chelly and our third stay at this facility. A few years ago it was a bit shopworn, but it has all been refreshed and it was perfect. The rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable and it even came with a refrigerator that appeared to be very new. The carpets were in excellent condition (had recently been replaced) and the room spacious. We stayed for three nights and visited both Canyon de Chelly and Monument Valley and this was the perfect launching pad! The restaurant provided nicely prepared food with a wide selection at reasonable prices. The staff at the front office AND the restaurant were friendly and very efficient. Overall, a wonderful experience.
Always clean, quite and comfortable, Great restaurant on the property (junction restaurant) and easy to find location when coming in from any direction, well lite parking areas. Easy to check in and out,,dependable internet
Was satisfied with service and hotel. Would have liked brunch @ hotel instead of restaurant breakfast. The room was well stocked & clean. One drawback: pool across the way, next to restaurant. Staff very courteous & helpful. Would be happy to stay again
The motel was perfectly clean, roomy and comfortable. The staff was friendly and efficient. We ended up staying a second night because a snowstorm blew in making driving pretty uncomfortable over the pass. It gave us some extra time to explore. Having a good restaurant adjacent was a nice bonus.
This is a good choice when staying in the Chinle/Canyon De Chelly area. I have stayed at this hotel several times on business. Facilitly is clean, staff helpful and good restaurant next door so you do not have to drive to another location.
No need to pay more at the Holiday Inn. (It was more expensive when we were in Chinle.) This place is very well run and has a restaurant to walk to. The rooms are clean and everything was working. It's the place to stay in Chinle.
We have stayed at this location in the past an each time it is consistently good especially for the area. The hotel does not offer free breakfast. The rooms are small but comfortable but need updating and updated pillows. The rooms face the outside parking lot which can be loud especially with motorcycles parked in front of the room. The reception staff were new and the supervisor training them was very attentive to both the customer service and teaching new employees which was good to see.
We were pleased with our three night stay at the Best Western in Chinle. We had reservations. It is probably the best place to stay in Chinle. We were greeted by two helpful and efficient receptionists who quickly took our information and explained the hotel layout. Our rooms were clean and quiet. We were given rooms on the second floor and the free wifi password. The TV worked well and the bed was comfortable. There is not much to do in Chinle so in the evening we played bridge with our friends in the room. We had breakfast and dinner at the Junction Restaurant which is also on the grounds and probably the best place to eat in the town. We spent one full day viewing both the north and south Rim. We spent the second day with a Navajo guide visiting the canyon floor. The canyon is beautiful and not to be missed. The South Rim drive with the overlook of Spider Rock is awesome. We were fortunate to have cool, cloudy weather. I want to thank the hotel for sending me an earring that I left on the floor in our room. I dropped it while my husband was sleeping in the dark and then forgot to pick it up later. We were about 100 miles away when I remembered and I called the hotel. I offered to pay for it to be sent to me and also a reward but they sent it without the information of the finder. The office also helped our friends with a scan and fax of some documents that needed to be sent to their son. They went out of their way to provide assistance
Pros: 1. people are friendly, everyone said "hello" even if I was not interacting with them 2. rooms are newly remodeled 3. clean! 4. pool is clean, heated, and indoors 5. HBO 6. Fridge in room 7. nice decor Cons: 1. pool paint is very slippery and chipping 2. no microwave in room 3. no breakfast
The Best western was fine for our purpose. Clean, efficient, priced well. However the in-room internet didn't work (we use Verizon) and the restaurant next door was below par. For a few dollars more, I would suggest the Holiday Inn, which fits in with the atmosphere of the area better.
There really are not that many choices to stay in Chinle. The Best Western is basically right off of US 191 at the west end of town. You then have to drive through town to get to Canyon de Chelly. It's not a big town and the visitor center is not more than 15 minutes away. The trick is that the Best Western is basically right next to the high school, and if you try to get out to get to the park at the end of the school day, like I did, you could wind up sitting for a while waiting for a line of school buses. Just bear that in mind. I like this motel. The rooms were clean and very tastefully decorated. What I liked best about the place, however, were the very friendly folks in the office. These ladies were born with smiles on their faces. I also very much appreciated being able to leave my car in the parking lot while I took a jeep tour of the canyon. I was not staying a second night and my tour ended well after checkout time. Not a big deal, I suppose, but it was greatly appreciated. I should mention that there is a restaurant in the parking lot of the Best Western. I don't know if there is any connection between the two establishments other than proximity and a shared parking lot. There may have been. The restaurant served American, Mexican and Navajo food. It was nothing to write home about, but I had two good meals there and I can't ask for more than that.
This motel is on the Navajo reservation. We were not expecting it to be much considering there is not much competition and it's a small town, We were pleasantly surprised. We had a large room with no major complaints. There was good hot water and it was quiet, even though we were on the ground floor facing the parking lot. (Older style motel with doors outside,) No free breakfast, but a good restaurant with Native American food such as Fry Bread, is in the middle of the parking lot with the motel around it. Only minor complaint was that the TV was a little small of the room. The air conditioning system was a little odd, but worked okay. WIFI was decent.
Nice and peacefull hotel. Very easy to find and well located . Easy access to Canyon de Chelly . Nice room very well decorated . Good amenities Quick internet connection. Wide parking lot and good flowering of the yard.
Check in was easy. The rooms were clean and comfortable, everything worked. The best part of the experience was the onsite restaurant - The Junction. We tried eating at other places in Chinle and decided that nothing else compares to The Junction. We and our friends greatly enjoyed our 3 day stay at this hotel.
Staff were polite and helpful for registration and questions. for Room was smaller. Cost was high for size/amenities. Shower was a walk-in. Wanted to warm some food and was told it would cost $7 to rent microwave. No frig either. Had to go to the restaurant next door for breakfast-didn't try. Close to Canyon De Chelly.
Room and beds were comfortable and clean. The restaurant staff were pleasant and quick.....the food was good. Great location for visiting the canyon....we did the hike to the Whitehouse, it was awesome!!
Spent one night here, and the room was just about what we expected. Spacious and clean, but nothing special. The heating/air conditioning was very loud, but otherwise, our stay was uneventful. The adjacent restaurant, The Junction, has a large menu, but primarily high calorie fried foods, pizzas, and meat, and very few health options. There is a Denny's nearby, that may have better choices, but we didn't check it out during our brief stay. The property is located very near the entrance to Canyon de Chelly National Park.
Great staff, efficient and professional. Restaurant also best choice. Pillows too not comfortable, but clean and quiet in spite of large numbers of guests. Used as a jumping off for Canyon de Chelly Touring. Caution to read reviews of guides before hiring a canyon touring group.
We often choose Best Western when traveling because we can always count on a comfortable bed and pillows, and good internet. In addition, this hotel seemed to have recently remodelled the bathrooms. Everything was very clean and in good condition. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Only disappointment was that there was no free breakfast, which we have come to expect at Best Westerns. There is a restaurant on site, though, the Junction, which was quite popular with locals and tourists alike.
When I am in Canyon de Chelly/Chinle, I always stay at the Best Western. I have stayed here several times and the property is consistent with it's cleanliness and friendly staff. Housekeeping brings me extra towels when requested asap. This town attracts business as well as tourism so is seasonal. The restaurant located next to the Best Western is the Junction and has very good food. There is a great book selection in the lobby.
My husband and I stayed here on our recent trip to visit Canyon de Chelly. The room was clean and comfortable. I was surprised to find that our cell service (Verizon) and Internet was quite good. We like to stay in touch with relatives on our trip and was told that we probably would not have reception in Chinle. The adjacent restaurant, the Junction, is convenient, and I was able to try authentic fry bread for the first time. All in all, a good place to stay when visiting the Canyon.
Stayed one night while visiting Canyon de Chelly NM. We stayed on the 2nd floor. Be forewarned that there's only steps to the 2nd floor, so if you have any heavy bags you may want to request the first floor. Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The only problem we had with the room was that there was only lukewarm water coming from the shower. We were looking forward to taking warm showers after having hiked the canyon on an especially blustery, windy day. We ate dinner at the onsite restaurant which is only open until 8pm by the way. It was a huge disappointment. Service was mediocre at best. I ordered beef stew; it was terrible. It's consistency was thin and runny. I could only eat a few bites. My husband liked his food but he complained of not feeling well a few hours later.
We were going to Canyon de Chelly and booked a last minute hotel. The holiday inn was 180 dol. on a weekday and they wouldn't give a aaa discount b/c their rooms were almost all sold out. So we checked out the best western and they had a better price, gave us the aaa discount even though it was the last room. I also left my laptop by accident and they shipped it back to LA. Very nice and helpful stand. Thank you-
I spend realy nice time in BEST WESTERN Canyon de Chelly Inn. This is quite old property but very well maintened. The property is very large with good restaurant called the Junction Restaurant with tasty food. My room was very clean and in bathroom was a new granite surround shower. In room were also flat Tv, fridge and comfortable bads. The employees was very nice and hardworking Navaho.
Was a good stay. I have stayed at this hotel before and was pleased so stayed here again. My King room on the second floor was spacious and very clean with new linen. Appears to be recent renovation of restrooms. Very nice. The Navajo girls at the front desk were very helpful. I like the restaurant that is on site. Has very good food and you can get it to go to your room if you so choose. I do not believe they have room service but you can get it to go. The restaurant next to the Best Western is the Junction. Quite a bit to choose from. I did swim in their indoor pool this time. It was very nice and refreshing.
When you have drove about 10hrs straight on the road, you expect to get all of your stuff throw it on the floor and start to walk allover on the Hotel room, but the last thing in your mind is that you get to make noise with every step you take, since we were on the second floor i felt bad for the people that were underneath of our room, every step was noise that we produced! Besides the walking and squeaking of the floor, once we were on the room beds it was a good stay. Except when you have that "I need to go to the bathroom" in the middle of the night and all of your family can hear you walking allover the room to the bathroom....
The room was clean with a small fridge. I requested a microwave when i booked for this room but it was not granted. I have to pay extra 7.00 for the microwave then someone delivered it in our room. This hotel doesn't offer breakfast . The staff were nice and friendly.
Property is immaculate and well cared for. Looks new, got a smile from everyone, super convenient restaurant and reasonable rate considering i got second to last room! Rooms were perfect and again, immaculate, I can usually find something gross in every room i stay in, even at a 5 star, but not here. They can teach the Palazzo a thing or two. Dont waste time looking for simewhere else to eat, junction restaurant is good if a bit bland but it smack dab in the middle of the motel grounds.
Have stayed at this Best Western in Canyon De Chelly when in this area on business. The staff is always pleasant and accommodating. My room was nice and clean and not far from the Junction Restaurant which is a minute or two within walking distance. The food is good and so is the service. This time I booked a tour with Canyon De Chelly Tour Company and they picked me up at the lobby area after breakfast. The Canyon is breath taking but you can also get a good view from the rim area. When I left I drove around the rim and stopped at the look out points. The internet service is also good here.
This is a very nice and clean hotel, very well located, close to Canon de Chelly national monument, that is a wonderful area, with magnificent views, wonderful landscapes and history. I choose the hotel from others, knowing the Best Western Hotel reputation, and also because I have been staying in this hotel chain this last week traveling in Utah and Arizona.
We have visited Chinle numerous times, and had not stayed at the Best Western in years. It was lovely. Updated, with new decorating décor in rooms, lovely grounds, very quiet. We will definitely stay again!
Great beds, shower, clean and comfortable . Free wifi. New Mexico TV stations. No CNN or PBS. Happy, friendly and helpful staff. Good restaurant on site. Would return just to see Canyon de Chelley, one of the great National Monuments in the USA.
Another nice stay at this Best Western. When in town on business I stay at this hotel. Staff is courteous and room is always clean. There is a restaurant located on the property that is convenient. Good food.
The room was clean and neat, the bed was comfortable, the pool was clean. Staff was friendly. The restaurant next door is very convenient, affordable and the food was good. The location is very near Canyon de Chelly.
We stayed there two nights doing Canyon and local area tours. Hotel very clean inside and outside. Very quiet despite being busy. Staff were great and very familar with area. Extra Bonus: gift shop had all of the Tony Hillerman novels with John Chee and Joe Leaphorn. Will definitely be back....
I have stayed here a couple of times before in the last 3 years. Each and every time has been a good experience. The rooms are very clean and the staff is friendly and goes out of their way to help. This is the Navajo Nation and most people come to see the great Canyon de Chelly National Monument and take jeep tours and hikes. I travel here on business but on this great spring day I managed to take an overlook drive by myself. It was so beautiful to look down into the Canyon de Chelly area. There is an indoor pool which looks lovely but I don't swim. There is also a wonderful restaurant on site. I am told it has been there for some time. All's I can say is it is convenient and serves the best food. Not always ideal for my waistline as I love their Fry Bread but they have incredible fresh entrees and the best Fry Bread. It is open all day long. It is convenient for me as I don't have to drive anywhere. The Junction Restaurant is located next to the Best Western so is in walking distance. Sometimes, I take an order to go and eat in the room. Internet is also good.
I travel often in the northern area of Arizona and New Mexico. When business calls for me to be in Canyon De Chelly....Chinle Arizona area, I have and will always stay at the Best Western Canyon De Chelly. It provides me with the best accommadations with the most comfort and amenities that I like to experience when traveling
I travel the state of Arizona and New Mexico on business. I always choose to stay at the Best Western in Chinle which some people refer to as Canyon de Chelly. The Dine Navajo employees are friendly and always answer any questions with a smile. My room is always clean and is spacious with a fridge and microwave upon request. I like their gift shop and never leave without a new book. Their internet is very good especially compared to other areas of the Navajo Nation which get none or are limited. I have had issues in Page and the Grand Canyon with Internet but not this Chinle hotel. What I really like is that they have a restaurant called the Junction on site that offers fresh food made daily. There is allot of different items offered on the menu. There is also a Pizza Hut Express located inside. Great Navajo Dishes. Clean property.
Keys didn't work, each night of our 3 day stay. Had to go to the front desk, sometimes more than once. Employees gave us various reasons why they didn't work, nothing was consistent. Glad we didn't return to our room after the office was closed!! Maintainence person (after regular working hours) was very nice and helpful. He seemed frustrated with the coverage for the hotel too.
Stayed 2 nights with family. Beds very comfortable, rooms clean and are being updated. Has outdoor entrances. Only bad thing for the review is breakfasts are not included in room rental. No micro but has frig and coffee. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Restaurant on property.
We stayed here one night and found it just right - a clean room, a good bed and a handy restaurant. Our canyon guide picked us up at the office next morning. We had a room on the ground floor that was dark at night and quiet despite facing the restaurant and the road.
I stayed hear around a year ago on business. I returned to the Canyon de Chelly area a couple of weeks ago on business again. I prefer the Best Western Canyon de Chelly Inn as it is very convenient, clean and the staff is friendly. The internet was very fast so I was able to get some night work in on the laptop. The staff is helpful should you need area directions or directions up to Monument Valley. The rooms were really clean and appears as though they have updated their restrooms which was a nice surprise this time. I also stay here as I am a Rewards member so I get points every time I stay. There is an indoor pool area. The big plus is that there is an on site restaurant called the Junction that is full service and serves all day long. Quite an extensive menu also. It was very cold in the area but this is winter up north and everywhere was cold. There appear to be several fast food restaurants but I enjoy full service and good food. I plan next time on visiting the Canyon de Chelly area on a tour but this is not the time right now. I want to see Spider Rock up close. Be careful when you drive as the outer areas of town are open range.
I have stayed here before on business and always choose this hotel. I have stayed at the other hotel in town but prefer this one as it has a Restaurant called the Junction Restaurant that has very good food and I can get it to go if I am in a hurry. I am also a swimmer so I enjoy their indoor pool. I am not sure but I believe this is the only hotel swimming pool in town. My room was spotless and the restroom shower is very nice. By the way, there is a great gift shop with a nice gift and book selection. Another plus is that this Best Western has good internet. This is a big plus if you are a business person. The restaurant next to the Best Western serves all types of food.
Despite the gal with an attitude who checked us in, this was a fairly decent stay. Rooms are large, clean and well decorated; towels are adequate; fridge and micro included; wifi worked as it should. All rooms have exterior doors. Breakfast is not included so you do have to go somewhere else. There is a restaurant connected with the hotel (no discount for guests) which is ok. There are a lot of taxes for the room, about 18%--state tax; Navajo Nation tax; energy surcharge---I imagine all the motels in the area charge this.
I stay at this motel twice a week with my delivery job. I am always greeted as "Sir" and all of the staff is very friendly and personable. I have only experienced minor "issues" in the last 7 months and they have resolved them all very quickly.
Not as crowded as other places near the Canyon de Chelle But then- you are indeed surrounded by both fast food and other quaint eating places and stores- room price for two queen beds was a bit on the high side The motel is a bit dated, but the quality of service is better than usual. No breakfast in the morning.....Best Western has that tradition?
It was a great location, easily accessible to the main roads. The atmosphere of the room was very comforting and relaxing. The restaurant has a variety of foods and the homemade tortillas was wonderful with my breakfast!
Canyon De Chelly hotel is a wonderful place to stay, when in town for business, sight seeing or hiking etc.. The employees are well dressed, clean, professional, out-spoken, very helpful and they make your stay phenomenal!! I recommend this hotel. Their pool is super clean! It's a peaceful stay!
We got to the area in time to take a tour of half the canyon overlooks which was amazing and only 4 miles from the hotel.. The hotel was very clean and the bed comfortable for a quiet night's sleep and is located on the Navajo reservation. There is an adjoining gift shop and restaurant which is the main reason I chose this hotel. The only negative is that it has outside entrances to the rooms and we were on second floor and being 65, it is a chore getting our luggage up and down the steps. The food in the restaurant was great for both breakfast and dinner and we took advantage of the gift shop.
Not up to Usual Best Western Standards. Rooms only average. Air Con sounded like a tractor. No complimentary breakfast expected at the BW chain. Ideal if you are visiting Canyon de Chelly but would look at other hotels in the region if visiting again
I stay at this Best Western when I am in the Canyon De Chelly area. I travel through this area on business and always find this hotel to be consistent with a clean room and friendly service. The on site, Junction Restaurant is convenient and always has good homemade fresh entree's. They also have a Pizza Hut Express that offers fresh pizzas, wings and pasta dishes.
The hotel room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The indoor pool was cold and the sauna did not work. Breakfast was included. The town of Chinle is a toilet. Beggars, Garbage and stray dogs all over the place. Too many Navajo fees added to my bill.
This is the best hotel to stay at when visiting the Chinle area. I frequently stay at this hotel when traveling through the area. I have found this hotel to be consistent with providing and meeting my expectations of a clean room. The rooms are clean and spacious. This hotel is older but is in good shape. There is a lobby with complimentary computers if you do not bring your own and the internet is very fast. I was impressed. There is also an indoor pool and a fitness center. The big plus for me is that they provide a full service restaurant on site. The restaurant serves very good food and you can also get it to go. It is called the Junction. There is complimentary coffee in the room. One hotel I stayed at a couple of years ago in the area did not offer it. This Best Western does. I come here for business but during season they are very busy with tourists. Staff is friendly.
My stay was awesome and i did love the are but No complimentary water coffee or breakfast i wish i could say my stay consisted of those i had to pay out of pocket and i was away from home. I hope the next time stay it will be different
Stayed at this Best Western in the Canyon de Chelly area. Was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are cozy and very clean. I have stayed hear before and am always pleased. This time of year is very cold so make sure you bring a coat. I am told season is March on. I was here for business. Chinle is a small town. I was impressed by the internet at this hotel as I travel in the Northern area of the state and internet is fair in most areas but this hotel on the REZ had a good connection. As I mentioned the rooms are clean. The bathroom I had in my room appeared to be recently remodeled. There is a restaurant on site called the Junction that serves good food. They seem to have something for everyone on the menu. I am told it is a favorite of the locals. The food is always good. I have stayed at one other hotel in town and came to the Best Western. The employees are friendly.
I'd stayed here before a few years ago and had had plesant memories, so this time when we came to Chinle we checked for vacancies here first - feeling this should not be a proiblem, since it was mid-November. A few minutes later we had been efficiently booked into an upstairs room. It featured one king -which was a bit of a surprise, as I had not been aware of the fact i was getting a room for us with one bed only. Well, it didn't matter. There was ample space between the walls and furniture, with a dcent-sized fridge, a chest of drawrs and totally new bathroom. There was also a coffee maker and a good TV set (which is always important for my husband). I also liked the table with the two chairs and the hanging space for clothes. Everything was clean and tidy. No complimentary breakfast, but there's an eatery right next door. The wifi workd very well. If we ever want to stay in Chinle again, we'll choose the Canyon de Chelly Inn Best Western agaun for sure.
The Canyon de Chelly Best Western, was indeed a great stay! The staff and local residences were very helpful and polite. Service was Fantastic! The rooms were very well serviced, no issues. The pool was very clean! Perhaps the cleanest pool I've ever seen compared to other Best Western hotels. The restaurant staff provided good service.
The older style motel is a two story and very well maintained. I have stayed here before and it is always a pleasant experience. The front desk staff is Navajo and very well trained and they are very polite. The rooms are simple but very clean with all of the necessary amenities. The internet is very good here. It has improved from over a year ago when I stayed here. There is a restaurant next door within walking distance that has very good food and you can get it to go. Nice hotel on the Navajo Reservation. There is a nice gift shop in the lobby and there is also complimentary business center. I used it as I needed to print and fax a document. The town of Chinle does not have allot to offer but the Canyon called Canyon de Chelly is awesome even this time of year being winter. Try to drive up to Monument Valley after you stay here. There are some awesome views up there.
I always stay at the Best Western when in the Canyon de Chelly area. I frequent the area on business as well as visit family. The hotel is well maintained and clean. The Navajo Staff is always friendly and welcoming. There is a restaurant called the Junction located on site that serves very good food so you do not need to leave the property. I have always had good food and service. The menu is extensive. There are very few hotels to choose from. The Best Western has always been a good choice for me. There is also an indoor heated pool and on this stay I used the sauna for the first time since it was so cold outside.
We enjoyed our stay at Best Western. The staff was friendly. We will be staying at this location again in the future, as this location was convenient for us. The restaurant was a short walking distance with good food. Thank you.
Older hotel, restaurant on site, beds were comfortable but we noticed an odor when we walked in, like freshner trying to cover up something. After having a shower, I found out what it was . . . urine smelling up the bedroom carpet. The toilet wasn't working well so I suspect it had overflowed at some point and flooded the area around the bathroom. That room should not have been in commission.
It's always a pleasure staying here, the staff are great and always so kind to me, the rooms are clean, the restaurant staff always provides great service and excellent food. No complaints about this motel and location.
Stayed here for one night to explore Canyon de Chelly. Staff very friendly and helpful on check in, we arrived early but we're able to book in and given directions for Canyon. Room spacious and comfortable. Onsite restaurant fine for our stay. Enjoyed indoor pool at this time of year. Excellent base if touring in this area.
This is a well-maintained older motel, just minutes away from the entrance to Canyon de Chelly. Our room was clean, quiet & comfortable -- everything we needed. None of the places are particularly inexpensive in the Chinle area, but compared to competing hotels in the area we thought this one was a good value. Breakfast is not included, but a very nice restaurant (The Junction) is located just across the parking lot.
Room was small, dark and straight out of the 50's. Bathroom also. When we got there early, I was turned away curtly with no offer to hold our bags, and told to come back later. We were so disappointed in the hotel, that we left after the 1st night and forfeited our 2nd night payment.
Restaurant was excellent, friendly, and very filling. Service just great. Our room clean and comfortable. Heater was nice and warm. New bathroom shower stalls & room spacious. Fresh. Front Desk very informative, gave great directions, friendly, appreciate the courtesy call, & express check out awesome... just left keys in room, receipt emailed to us. thank you again, hope to see you soon.
We had a nice, clean room. Very comfortable. Roomy. And, very close to the entrance to Canyon de Chelly. The topper for us was that somehow our reservation had been made for the 21st and it was supposed to have been the 22nd. I had not noticed the discrepancy on my paperwork. Thus, after our day at the Canyon, when we arrived to check in at the motel, they had us down as a "no show" from the night before and had charged us for that night. However, these great people found a room for us AND did not charge us for the night we did stay. SUPER PEOPLE!!!
The rooms at the Canyon De Chelly Best Western were new and clean, but the staff at the hotel and at the restaurant were what really made the experience delightful. I wholly recommend this hotel to others.
Lodging choices are very limited at Chinle. We have stayed (twice) only at the Best Western and have found it a pleasant experience. Check-in was easy and quick with staff being friendly and helpful. Our room was adequate with comfortable bed. The Best Western is conveniently located next to the Junction Restaurant which serves good food at reasonable prices. I might add that restaurants are also very limited at Chinle. The lobby features an excellent gift shop with quality items. There are Native American items of jewelry, pottery, and rugs. There is a good selection of books on Canyon de Chelly, the Southwest, Ancestral Puebloans, and Navajo people. The base price for the room is reasonable but by the time you pay Arizona tax, Navajo Nation tax (you are within the Navajo Nation), a Lodgers tax, and an Energy sur charge it does up the price. These charges came to $22.57 above the base price of our room. Be aware that you will pay the Navajo Nation tax anywhere you make a purchase within the Navajo Nation. They are their own government entity and levy taxes.
We had a nice big room, with a good bed and reasonable bathroom facilities. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The gift shop was the best we saw in Arizona hotels. The Junction restaurant on premises was ok
Not many hotel choices in town so price was higher than usual and there is no free continental breakfast. Room was very smelly. Not sure if it was musty or if it used to be a smoking room, but the odor was offensive. Couldn't wait to leave in the morning. Water also had a distinctive odor, so didn't wash my hair and only took a quick shower. If I ever visit Canyon de Chelly again I think I would try the Holiday Inn.
Brought a group of 32 people, and it was bad. Wasn't there for the property but for Canyon de Chelly which is beautiful. Will return to Canyon de Chelly but not to the Best Western. Restaurant is terrible, staff isn't friendly. Good location.
Awesome, place to stay! :) I enjoyed the friendly hotel staff, the exercising room was great, I loved the canyon tours that are offered. I will be coming back to stay! I love the rooms can't ask for more because they provide all :)
Great place to stay....super clean and very quiet..helpful staff. they want me to type some more, so here I go...lets see, what shall I say, oh heck I don't know....is this enough? I guess not only have 181 so far...so....I guess, a....
We are big fans of the Best Western and this property did not disappoint. Clean; comfortable; good restaurant and helpful service. This hotel is also very conveniently located to exploring the surrounding area.
The staff was helpful and efficient, property and rooms were clean and neat. I felt safe staying here. Staff at the restaurant were also kind and courteous, food was prepared and served promptly and enjoyable.
I would visit this area and only stay at the Best Western Canyon de Chelly Inn. The rooms, staff, and amenities were awesome. I really enjoyed the local insight that they offered to make my trip even more special
wanted to see canyon de chilly, we belong to best western rewards so we thought we would take advantage of this hotel. we are seniors there were 3 in our group. I had reserved two king rooms on the ground floor. when we arrived they had been given away all they had left were two queens so we had to settle for those. the rooms were hot. the restaurant food was something to be desired . this property needs to have some good management.
It is always great to stay at the Best Western in Chinle, AZ. Very welcoming and great staff to make you feel at home. The restaurant serves great food. My favorite breakfast entrée is the white house overlook burrito. Rooms are comfortable and clean. WIFI was fast as well. Always a great place to stay.
Outside its a motel style hotel..inside very clean and instead of bathtub you have a shower and it's all new. You will only find budget hotels in this town so this one will be just fine. Better don't go for dinner to Junction restaurant it's terrible..you are better off at Burger King. Believe me I try to avoid fast food restaurants ..
Comfortable and clean room with subtle decoration using local artists. Firm beds, mini fridge and coffee maker at a relatively good price. Would stay again when visiting Canyon de Chelly. Unlike other hotels in the region, breakfast is not included.
I always stay at Best Western Canyon De Chelly Inn when returning to this area for business. I have stayed here before and the staff is always friendly and helpful. My room is always clean and welcoming. The internet is free and very fast. The Junction Restaurant, located next to the hotel, has a good menu with tasty food and good service. The recent remodel of the restrooms are very nice.
