"Not worth the price"

I've stayed at this hotel at least 4-5 times in the past with never a problem. I usually like Best Westerns, they are usually affordable , pet friendly and clean. The staff was very friendly,I love the fact that it's hard flooring for cleanliness . The room did need some updating and even for a smoking room (which was the only pet friendly room available) had an extreme smell of smoke. ( can't complain too much about that since I ok'd staying in a smoking room) my main concern was the price. I paid in full 194.72. I was told that the price of the room would be 152.10 and I assumed that price that they gave was the complete price with pet deposit and taxes. It was not that was the price of the room by itself. When it processed through my bank at 194.72 I checked the website for the hotel and found that same room (smoking double) goes for $107 a night. Just be aware of the full amount before you get a room there.

Definitely not worth the price. When we arrived the first room we were given had no shower curtain. Went to the desk and was given a suspicious look before given another room. This room had a cigarette burn and stains on the top bedding cover. Room was relatively clean but needs some updating. Won't be back.

The place is clean and staff is friendly. It's a typical motel feel. Our room was a good size. Nice sized counter around the sink and a table and chairs that was comfortable for computer use. Right off 24 so convenient location. About a 10 minute Uber to downtown.

"Clean but nothing special"

We were upstairs with a king bed. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom faucet dripped. Frank, who tended the breakfast bar, was the one bright spot. He was so friendly and attentative to everyone.

"Clean but needs renovation "

Rooms were very clean but the entire hotel is in desperate need of a remodel. Decorations are very outdated and furniture is literally falling apart. Rooms clean, free breakfast better than average and friendly staff. Great location but it's age certainly shows.

I was driving for 8 hours during a hurricane with two cats. Arrived at the hotel that was supposed to be pet friendly at 2am to find out they have changed their policy and are no longer pet friendly. Everything in the area was booked. Best western had one room left. I took it. Was the best thing that happened. Room was amazing. Staff was wonderful. Thank you! Will stay there again for sure!

Chattanooga Royal Inn Best Western. I would not go back to this hotel. Not a very friendly staff not a nice hotel. Old and dirty. We shortened our stay just because I couldn't stay any longer at this motel.

The rooms seemed to have been recently updated. They were nicer than anticipated and the bed was comfortable. We had a noisy mini fridge which Frank came in and took care of the next day while we were away. We didn't have anymore issues with the noise the rest of the trip. Breakfast was as expected but better than many motels. The coffee was good. Overall the staff was friendly, seemed to genuinely care and our stay was satisfactory.

"Stop on the way to FL"

After an 11 hour trip on our way to Florida, we were just happy to get out of the car! The front desk was nothing to write home about, definitely not over friendly. The room was fine, the bathroom smelled like urine but the sheets were clean and the was bed comfortable, so for the price what more can you ask for? The kids enjoyed being able to take a dip in the pool.

This was a quick, one night stay. It is an economy motel but I was pleasantly surprised by the size of our disability access room. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The toiletries provided were quite pleasant. We went out for breakfast in the morning but did get coffee, which was good. The rest of the breakfast looked simple but adequate. The staff was friendly. It was a good value for the rate.

My wife's family vacation. There was a mixup in our reservation when we arrived but the staff worked awful hard to get things straightened out. We didn't have rooms beside each other (the majority did) but we all had rooms. The rooms were clean neat and tidy. The breakfast was really good, scrambled eggs. Biscuits and grave sausage patties cereals and breads. The staff was very courteous and polite. It could use a second ice maker and an elevator to the 3rd floor Lol. I recommend the BestWestern Royal.

Hotel not much to look at but room was very clean and bed was amazingly comfortable. Spacious room. King room had a sofa bed also. Breakfast was a great way to start our day of travel. Front desk staff very personable. Logan's was right next store along with a Walmart. A good stop while traveling.

My significant other and I went on a day/night getaway to just switch up the norm and from our one night stay we were pretty satisfied. After the first 30 mins after check in, we jumped in the outdoor pool and enjoyed it. Then, after leaving and coming back, the only discomfort I experienced was that the vanity light was out and i was told by the very nice gentleman at the front desk that there was no maintenance at that time and the only fix would be to switch to another room. I wasnt about to change rooms for a stupid light out. And later in the evening, I wanted to take a bath but the tub stopper wasn't working for some reason. It seemed broken but I'm not sure. It was late so I wasn't about to disturb anybody at the front desk. These things should be regularly maintained and i don't blame front desk for these slight issues. The blame lies with management who should be looking over these things daily to make sure they're up to par before renting out these rooms. But, other than the minor maintanence issues, we had a lovely 1 night stay.

When we got to our room we discovered they gave us a smoking room which we are not smokers! They didn't even ask us if we preferred smoking or non smoking. The room smelled bad! There was no soap, no shampoo/conditioner in the room. There were no hand towels either, only bath towels, & wash cloths. The toilet had dark stains in the bowl, & there were small hairs on the seat & tank lid. The only good things I can say is the bed was clean & comfortable & the breakfast was good. I've stayed at a lot of Best Western's over the years and they have always been very nice, this one however didn't feel like a Best Western at all! I was very disappointed!

Stayed one night on our way to Gatlinburg. Our room was more updated than I expected after seeing the outside of the building. We had a very spacious and clean room on the third floor. It is a motel with outdoor entry so be prepared to carry your luggage upstairs. The staff in the breakfast area was very nice and kept everything clean and fresh in the food area. Would definitely stay here again.

I had a 3 night stay, and very pleased. The room was nice and clean. I requested the air to be turned on upon arrival and the room was nice and cool. The breakfast was delicious and hot. The gentleman that kept the breakfast bar was very nice every morning, as well as all of the other staff. It's conveniently located off I-24 and very close to Walmart and all attractions within Chattanooga. I'll definitely be booking with BW next time in town.

One night stay - 2 storey building - no lift. Checkin efficient - Walmart just behind the hotel with a couple of other shops. Fairly quiet location on the outskirts of Chattanooga - ideal for Lookout Mountain. Standard Motel type Best Western with accommodation and furnishings as you would expect. Hearty breakfast so no complaints!

We got to the hotel about one o'clock in the morning. The lady who checked us in, and I'm sorry I can't remember her name, was very friendly and professional. It was welcoming to see a smiling face after such a long drive and being up so long! The room was clean and comfortable. I wish I could tell you about the breakfast, but we missed it because we woke up so late and then checked out to continue our journey. I would book this place again if in the area.

Highly recommended by this family of 4. The room rates are very affordable to start. The room was very clean and well stocked. The room included a mini fridge as well as microwave. The beds are comfortable and the linens are nice and clean. The breakfast in the morning had a nice variety. The location is great for all of the attractions in the area. It is also conveniently located near several restaurants as well as a walmart. The staff was friendly and kind. You won't regret staying here.

We booked this hotel based on reviews, location, and price. We typicallly try to stay at a certain price point and this met that as well. The property appeared to be recently updated. The hotel was very clean inside and outside around the stairs and parking lot. The free breakfast is typical and the “hot items” were hot as expected. The rooms for us were large with plenty of room to move about. There are restraints within walking distance, gas stations, and a Walmart surrounded by the typical stores. The location for us was perfect, just off the interstate and minutes away from lookout mountain.The staff was friendly and welcoming. There is a pool onsite but didn't appear to be open for the season yet. We stayed 2 nights here and as it turned out we came back for one additional night a few days later. When I return to Chattanooga I will try to book this hotel again. Don't book expecting the property to be the Hilton. That it is not. But I found it clean very comfortable and affordable.

Stayed at BW 1 night enroute. Rooms are updated and clean with a small fridge and microwave. There is no elevator to 2nd floor. Breakfast is average continental. Easy access to Interstate. Daily newspaper available. Nothing fancy. Breakfast staff were helpful.

This is a great stop to be near all the major tourist attractions in Chattanooga. Lookout Mountain, Ruby Falls and Rock City are very close by. Downtown is a fairly quick drive. The breakfast choices were very good. I would certainly stay here again.

"BW gets it done"

Tis BW inn has a great free breakfast, waffles, bagels, biscuits + gravy, sausage, etc. Room was clean and had all the amenities: micro, fridge, hair dryer, etc. Basic with all you need. pool ad a grassy area for families. there are 3 floors and NO elevator. Would stay again.

I made the reservation on the road and stated we'd arrive just before 9pm. We got there to another couple leaving because nobody was around. After 15 minutes I called but only got a recording. The desk clerk finally showed up after another check-in was waiting. He checked us in quickly and we found our room easily. I was happy with the wood floors, I consider them cleaner than carpet. It had a table with 2 chairs, TV with HBO, larger mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The tub/shower and commode was separate from the sink area which I'm not a fan of. The sink was splashed with coffee or some brown liquid, not a big deal, just laziness. Otherwise it was a very nice spacious room. A bonus of course is the free breakfast buffet. Eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, waffles etc.

"Comfortable bed and good location"

This property is right off of I-24 and next to Logan's Roadhouse and that is across from Walmart. Loved the bed! Very comfortable and NOT hard. It has a microwave and small frig that was actually cold! No safe. They have 2 chairs at a small table. The TV had many channels and the wifi worked well. There is shampoo provided. There is also a coffee maker with coffee provided in the room. The room was clean and the ac worked well. The breakfast is about the same as other hotels today provide. The area is part of the lobby but has plenty of seating. We'd stay there again.

"Price Gouging"

There must have been a special event in town when I stayed, April 7th, so the rates were higher than normal which is understood. However, upon leaving the hotel I noticed the legal document posted in the room showing the maximum rate the hotel can charge for a room, which as listed stated $149. These amounts are typically astronomically higher than the room would ever be, however the rate I paid was $184. That being said, management at this location was clearly taking advantage of the event taking place in town and overcharging anyone that needed a room simply because they knew people would pay it since the location is close to downtown. Considering the rate for this hotel is typically less than half of what I paid for a night, it's terrible to see hotels like this taking advantage of travelers from out of town simply because they know people will pay it. I will never stay at another Best Western or any of its affiliates just because of the poor practices and price gouging taking place at this location.

Pet friendly and room was just fine for our doggies. And room was cleaned daily making it fresh for us and our pets. Central to all the things we wanted to do in this town, and a walmart right next door!

"Spring Break with Kids in Chattanooga, TN"

The hotel staff were great and took care of our needs. The whole facility was very clean and located outside of the main city. We were within minutes of everything without the noise of a big city. The hotel has a Wal-Mart, Wendy's, Logan's Steakhouse and many other businesses within walking distance. We will stay here again when we come through Chattanooga.

Room was fine. Small for a family. Breakfast was typical. Not bad. Dining area was small, crowded, and noisy. Parking area is tiny. Hard to get in and out of and always seemed to have work vans or trucks blocking the way out. Probably will not choose to stay here again.

Would definitely stay here again. Right off of the highway, very clean, easy check in and check out. There were several restaurants close by. Easy access to gas stations. The breakfast was good but would have liked more fresh fruit.

"Great Overnight Stay"

We needed a pet friendly simple room at the halfway point of a recent trip to the Smoky Mountains. The Best Western Royal fit the bill perfectly. It is very conveniently located right off the interstate with a few restaurants located nearby. Check in was great, and the room was clean yet simple. The complimentary breakfast was good and typical with hot and cold items . You can find plenty of rooms in this area that will cost more and may be more modern and fancy, but they will not be cleaner or service friendlier. For us this was a perfect choice. I would easily stay here again if needed while in Chattanooga.

"Decent Stay"

This was our first time staying in a BW and we were impressed. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. However, being near the road you could hear traffic all night. You could also hear the people above you. The staff was excellent and thoughtful.

I stopped at this Best Western on my way back East. The room was clean and well furnished, the staff were very friendly, and the overall environment felt safe. The rate was very reasonable as well, which is greatly appreciated, as I am a single person of modest means.

"A welcome stop after a 600+ mile driving day."

This hotel's location is very good for heading off in any direction on Chattanooga's various Interstates. It's also an excellent value for the frugal traveler. Clean. Quiet. Comfortable. Free Wi-Fi. Friendly staff. And the adjacent Logan's Road House has great burgers. There are also TWO Waffle Houses, on either side of the nearby I-59 exit.

We stayed here twice in the last month and were in 2 separate rooms. Although the hotel is not new it has been refurbished. Beds were comfortable, large TV with satellite stations. Easy access off hiway. Friendly staff. Nice hot breakfast.

Stayed 1 nite. Bed was a touch soft, room was very clean. The breakfast buffet was simple but very tasty!! It was supervised by a gentleman who was very friendly and kept everything well stocked and hot!! This place also had the best coffee of any hotel buffet that I'd ever been at. Highly recommend!

Stayed here for 3 nights. Not sure they really clean the rooms. Upon arrival, finger prints on mirror, hair in tub, spots on toilet seat. My husband and I both suffer from dust and mold allergies and we definitely suffered while staying here. Breakfast was good and workers friendly.

"Very friendly"

Very friendly and helpful staff. During breakfast, I observed an employee in the area assisting everyone...from fetching me a tray to carry breakfast to my room to picking up dropped items for a mother with several kids in tow to fetching more chairs so everyone would have a place to sit. Even though the hotel allows smoking, our room had no smell of smoke. This is usually a deal breaker for me as I am highly allergic. The hotel is older, but well maintained and clean. I had a very good nights sleep for a very reasonable price!

Flora and her staff never fail to welcome me and make me feel right at home. Flora is an outstanding person, warm and welcoming yet professional. Rooms always very clean and breakfast always good. Beds very comfortable. Very safe area Also appreciate outside access from each room.as opposed to enclosed hallways. Have some allergies and this location is good in that don't use offensive air fresheners and overly scented cleaners

Very comfortable overnight while traveling. The Staff was super helpful. The room was clean & quiet. Had a great nights sleep. Easy on/off Interstate, but no road noise. Couldn't ask for more. Would definitely recommend.

The ice machines were frozen. Otherwise, clean, average room. At $79, I would have given the motel good ratings. At $109, it was overpriced. Perhaps the price was jacked up for New Year's Eve. Good location off the interstate.

We came to Chattanooga for Christmas with our almost adult children. We received tickets for Ruby Falls with our hotel accomodations. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was very good the next morning. We had a wonderful experience with this hotel.

We stayed here on our way back to South Florida. Room is big with a sitting area and the bed was very comfortable. Staff was very nice and helpful, they treated us like family. The breakfast was good too. Very convenient next to highway. Next to a steak restaurant whose food was good quality.

"Good stopover spot"

Convenient access to highway. Clean and comfortable. Old school motel so you can park right outside your door to unload and load in the morning. Minimal breakfast but OK. Beds were comfortable. The handicap accessible room we were given had a conventional tub and shower so it would not have worked for someone confined to a wheelchair if a shower was desired. The parking lot is rather “hilly” too.

I have stayed here several times. Every other stay was excellent. This time the room needed more attention. There were cob webs and flies in the room. I am thinking that room service left the door open while cleaning. Management was concerned and apologized for the room condition. I would still stay at this hotel when I travel this way again.

This was a great place to stay. The rooms were all renovated w/ new flooring and marble since. Mid size fridge, LG tv, soft beds and clean room. Wonderful internet and tv service. Great breakfast too new floors here too, full breakfast - eggs, sausage, waffles, bis and gravy and more.

The rooms were very clean and we were very pleased with our overall stay. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms and grounds are a bit dated but did not make our stay any less enjoyable. Breakfast was pretty decent and had a few options for everyone.

Our family came to Chattanooga to visit the Civil War sites: Chickamauga Battlefield and the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Park (Point Park and Lookout Mountain). This hotel was very clean, modern and the staff was friendly. They accept pets and, if they know you are bringing dogs, they will put you in a room near grassy green spaces for easy walking (and they have a doggy clean up station complete with doggie poop baggies). The hotel was centrally located and it was easy for us to drive to all the sites quickly. Plus, a buffet-style breakfast is included. We highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Chattanooga on a budget!

This was our first experience doing a pet-friendly hotel. The room was quite spacious, very clean, and a great value. Location was easy and the front desk person was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the a.m. was a nice plus. Despite the hotel being older, I was impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of the beds.

The room I reserved wasn't available. We ended taken two full beds and the room looked like a cheap motel. I'm not going to stay there again specially when I can stay at a nice hotel for the same price.

"cocroaches in room"

we found 3 cockroaches in 3 minutes/ stains on comforter/ carpet in hall dirty. A dog barked every time we where in hall way. lady at front desk was polite and professional. we did not want another room because cockroaches spread fast we tried to get out of room but wife was using bathroom when she found 1 I found 2 more waiting for her to finish

I just wanted a bottle of water, I need to stay hydrated for health reasons. That's ok, I bought a bottle of water from a gas station. No problem, when I see how it is, I can adapt. If you catch my meaning. I gave them to be my exclusive choice but I'm not married to Best Western.

"Extremely satisfied customer"

We usually stay at a Drury Inn whenever available, but Chattanooga does not have Drury Inns. So we booked a Best Western. We had stayed at another Best Western in the past and was not happy with our accommodations, so we were a little skeptical. However, this BW location in Chattanooga is better that most of the other motels we visited during our trip. Extremely clean, great personnel staff and a very good breakfast.

"Great beds and pillow. Good quick stay"

My husband and I stayed here for two nights with our 8 month old puppy. Unfortunately, I got sick at the start of our vacation, and spent the most of this leg of our trip in the hotel room. The Building: Pulling up to check in, first thing you notice is there is limited parking. The spaces are close together and on an angle and an incline, so it isn't easy to park. There is however parking for large vehicles such as 18 wheelers, trailers, and large trucks were I thought was great! The room: The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I have ever slept on! The room was mostly clean. No bad odors. When we were packing up the room, however, a roach scurried across the room. As Floridians, we didn't think much of it, as it doesn't seem like an infestation and it had been particularly moist few days. The amenities: Our room was truly pet friendly. There were laminate flooring, there was plenty of grass and a doggy station with baggies. The pool was outdoor and closed for the winter. We personally did not eat the breakfast- I couldn't even tell you what they had! The staff: The staff was super nice, after I needed new sheets. They were prompt and made sure everything was clean. The night staff had some newer members, but we all start somewhere. The location: super close to lookout mountain, ruby falls, and the incline. Lots of shopping nearby on st. Elmo. Over all, I would recommend. Nice, clean place, with friendly staff.

"good location"

We used this hotel because of the location, which was great for ruby falls and incline railway. The lady at the front desk was very nice and checked us in even though we were a hour early. The room was clean and the hot breakfast was good. This is a good hotel for the money

This lady act like she didn' t understand how disturbing it was to know that your personal things are gone through when you leave the room. I told her that I always takes personal note of my belongings and how I place them before I leave out. I am always skeptical. She said because it was unzipped.

If you don't mind the moth ball smell, and the peeling paper, etc... then the beds are comfy, the water comes out hot and cold when desired. The breakfast is adequate for what you pay. It is what it is. You want more or better, I guess you should pay more and get it. The night lady is locked in the glass area and she has her son to attend to, so we waited to check in. The breakfast lady never smiled, and seemed disturbed that we were there. We came in late and left early. I would not choose to stay here again..

"Easy to Find, Quiet"

Likes: The front staff was friendly. The hotel is near restaurants and shopping. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is easy to find and close to the highway. Nice views of the mountains. Is in the outlying area of Chattanooga which is quiet and pretty. Dislikes: No elevator. The microwave was not plugged in, I had to actually take it out of its cubby and put it on the bedside table to use it since the outlets by the cubby were all full of TV/Internet stuff.

This hotel is not up to the standards we expect from Best Western. It is an older hotel and it shows. There were places where the paint was chipped, areas showing rust, etc. The carpet in the doorway was worn to threadbare. Clean but worn. The furniture was old and aging poorly. All clean, etc, but old. I would expect this hotel to be at the bargain range but it was of average priced during our recent travels.The lady at check-in seemed disinterested and not happy with her job.

"Great price, nice room"

I stayed here for just one night for a quick trip up to Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. I got the Best Western Rewards Rate which was a great deal. I chose this place due to it being less than 4 miles away from Ruby Falls. Rock City was the farthest destination away at less than 10 miles. We also did the Incline Railway. Many restaurants close by. I will stay here again.

Very impressed with the friendliness, cleanliness and staff of this Best Western. Will always stay here when traveling through Chattanooga. This location is convenient to downtown yet away from the hustle and bustle. Next to fast food and Walmart, which was also convenient.

"Two Good Nights in Chattanooga"

I stayed at the Best Western Royal Inn for 2 nights in September. I had read the reviews before I made my reservations and saw some negativity. I experienced none of that. Check in was very quick and easy. The front desk person answered all my questions with a smile. My room was very clean, quiet, and everything worked. The property is very close to the interstate, but I did not hear a sound at night. Parking was easy and plentiful. There are a few options for meals around, and Lookout Mountain attractions are just a few short minutes away. I had no issues with this motel, and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay on the West side of Chattanooga.

Very adequate spot for an overnight or two near Chattanooga with easy freeway access and to Lookout Mountain. Convenient to WalMart and a couple restaurants. Exercise room was small but offered a few aerobic workout machines and a simple set of freeweights.

"Quick trip"

Spent the night here on our quick trip to Branson and back home. Was a very clean, roomy and quiet place to rest. There is a Wal-Mart with gas station nearby. There is also a steakhouse close so we didn't have to go far to fill our bellies or gas tanks. Would definitely stay here again. We have recommended this to our daughter for her upcoming trip.

I made a reservation to stay here last minute when my trip plans changed. Almost missed it since there isn't a sign out front. The front desk staff was very friendly. The room was very clean. Great proximity to a Logan's Roadhouse and WalMart. Beds were nice and comfortable. A/C worked perfectly. Our mini fridge wasn't working but we didn't need to use it and the front desk staff was notified that it didn't work. The continental breakfast was terrific! Scrambled eggs with biscuits and gravy. I would absolutely recommend this place.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at this hotel! The room was very clean and comfortable. The convenience of Walmart, Wendys, Logans Steakhouse and Waffle House was nice. Of course, Lookout Mountain and other sites are all in close proximity. I was especially impressed with the staff, who were professional, courteous and friendly. Always a smile which is nice to see! We truly enjoyed staying here and highly recommend. We will be visiting again anytime we are in the Chattanooga TN area!

"Motorcycle trio with friends"

Motel needs to be remolded and a bigger breakfeast area. Parking on a hill with a motorcycle is not acceptable. We were just not pleased. Why would you have built this motel on a hillI have stayed at BWbefore and this is the worst for parking and breakfeast. After a long day on the road my husband and i had to make 2 trips each to get our gear in and we were at the very end of the walk way on the second floor. Worse btw ever

"First impressions..............may not tell the whole story"

My husband booked us in for a one night stay as we passed through Chattanooga. At first glance, I was not impressed. The motel looked gritty and run down, and it is located directly on a busy street. There is no elevator, so you are hauling your luggage up the stairs. Our room was not large, and was only one unit away from the road, so I feared it would be noisy. Now, here's the part where I find that appearances are not the whole story. While not glamorous, the bathroom was clean and functional. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and fresh, and the room was surprisingly quiet, so we got a good night's rest. And breakfast! Well.......it may not be gourmet style, but there were sausage patties and biscuits and gravy along with the usual breakfast items, so we were happy campers. We felt we got a good value for the money, and would definitely stay here again.

This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel and came back because the first experience was so good. It's within walking distance to great restaurants and everyday shopping locations. Staff is very helpful. Rooms are clean and well stocked. Pool is always clean. Breakfast is more than bagels and donuts. We have already recommended this hotel to others. Stayed here simply for a place to rest our heads for the night before going to New Orleans. The hotel showed pics of wood vinyl flooring, which I prefer to nasty carpet. First things first, I booked the room on hotels.com for $90.something. When I got to the hotel, they printed me a receipt for $77 (to be continued...as I follow up with Hotels.com about that). Anyway, the lobby/office area reeked so badly of musty/smoky/nastiness, I thought it wasn't going to be a good sign for the actual room, not to mention, that is where the food is served for the continental breakfast. Anyway, the room was carpeted, not vinyl wood flooring. The bathroom was nasty, the shower head was recessed into the wall, like if creepy crawlers wanted to crawl out they could. It skeeved me out. The room itself wasn't bad, but I don't go looking for stuff or else I'd be grossed out completely. The pool was one of the reasons I booked this, so my kids could relax before our drive the next day, but it too was nasty and nobody took advantage of it because it was just nasty. I know you get what you pay for, but at least put air fresheners in the place where you are serving food to guests. Needless to say, we didn't eat their breakfast and I will never be staying here again. The hotel sits right on a busy road. There are no "good views", it's a run down area. The only upside is there is a walmart if you have any shopping to do, right behind the hotel.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain. When arriving, the whole property just seemed like a big parking lot with a pool in it. After checking in, we were given a key, and when we went to our room, there was someone in it! It was very awkward to just walk in on someone, and a bad mistake for the front desk to make. The employee apologized quite a bit, but did admit that she gave us the wrong room. When we entered our room, it was nicely updated and clean. It was comfortable as the air conditioning had been running before we arrived. Unfortunately, we hadn't been given a remote control for the tv, so I had to hunt one down. When we did get a new one, it wasn't programmed, so I had to figure out how to do that as well. Once that was taken care of, everything was fine. The kids enjoyed the pool quite a bit. There are no sidewalks in the area, so don't plan on walking around to explore. The second day of our stay, the maid came in and took our towels, but didn't give us any replacements, and didn't clean our room either. Since we were leaving the next day, we didn't really need clean sheets or anything, but it was weird. I ended up going to get towels from the front desk, but was only given two, despite having four people in our room. Even though we had issues, the staff were nice, and we would probably stay here again for a quick trip. This is not a hotel for an extended stay, in my opinion.

"Nice hotel for the money"

Was nervous when looking for a good, cheap hotel in the area. I stayed in room 218 and I felt that the room was clean and comfortable. We ate the first night at cracker barell and I won't recommend that but the next two nights we had logans steakhouse and was good food. The only complaint I can have is we were a family of four but only had three towels, which made no sense why knowing we were four we got three towels and had to keep going to get more. Area was quiet, pool was good. Enjoyed the stay.

stayed for one night while traveling through. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Our room was incredibly clean, beds were comfortable, microwave and fridge was a great addition. There is a pool here which many people were enjoying. Grassy area outside our room was perfect for our dogs. There is a pet fee. Breakfast was satisfying. I would definitely stay here again. We were very pleased with our room at Best Western. It was very clean and comfortable. They have a nice outdoor pool that our kids enjoyed. Breakfast was excellent. Service was excellent. We had booked a 2 night stay at Red Roof Inn but it was disgusting so we canceled the 2nd night and called Best Western. They were able to accommodate us. We were pleased with everything about Best Western. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

The AC was noisy, the shower was so-so. Breakfast okay, but disposable plates and cutlery made it feel quite cheap. It is close to a Walmarts superstore – so convenient to stock up; and there are convenient restaurants in the Walmarts site.

Decent hotel for a reasonable price close to ruby falls and lookout mountain. Room was clean and the staff was friendly. The complementary breakfast was good and there are other restaurants close by. Overall I'd stay again.

"Room is better than the outside "

We stayed here so we could go to Rock City first thing in the morning. I was a little worried at first but the room was nice. They did have breakfast in the morning. It was a quick drive to Lookout Mountain if you are thinking about going there.

"A Good/Bad Experience"

The bad thing was that I called to make a reservation at another Best Western and drove there. That site did not have me booked, and they were. The attendant called to see what had happened and got everything worked out. My room at this location was their last. So I'm glad I got it. It was clean with an excellent mattress.

The front desk staff was excellent, the room clean and the breakfast a great way to start the day. The bed was comfortable, the hotel quiet and as reward members, we were given water and cookies when we checked in.

Hotel Staff made this a great place to spend the night. Property is older, but in great shape. Room was VERY clean and "everything" worked! Good location...WalMart is a 2 minute drive....Fast Food & Steakhouse within walking distance. Overall, a good stay....we'll book there again.

"Ok, but not the best"

This hotel was sub-par compared to other Best Westerns we have stayed at. The beds were very comfortable though and it was clean. It was quiet and the people were friendly. The pool was freezing cold the first week of June. I mean like ice. The breakfast was okay but not as good as other Best Westerns I have stayed at.

"What a great stay"

I called an inquired about this hotel about two months before we made the reservation. The staff on the phone was very nice and told us we wouldn't be far from the attractions and she was right. We were only a few minutes from Ruby Falls and Rock City. We stayed here for three days. The front desk help was great, we were able to get early check in. The room was very clean. The staff works hard to keep this hotel very clean. The free breakfast was delicious and had a good variety. Eggs, Sausage, Biscuits and Gravy, donuts and fruit. We will be back.

"Stopover on the way to florida"

The room was really nice. It was clean, comfortable, easy access to the highway. Friendly staff, we only stayed 1 night on our way to florida and it was a good stay. Only 2 issues I had personally, we had to hold the flusher for the toilet, not a big deal, considering I've experienced way worse and I could hear some noise, maybe music. But I am also sensitive to sound and always have to wear earplugs even in my own home. Other than the 2 minor things, great stay and I would recommend to anyone needing a nice place on a short stay!

Do not usually stay in Best Westerns because of past experience. Most hotels were sold out during the time of my stay, so I chose this one. Not disappointed, it was what I expected. Will only stay here if other hotels are sold out.

It's obvious that this is an older hotel (possibly might have been one of the first hotels in the location before the area started becoming developed), but it is clean and the beds are new and comfortable. It has all the amenities you would expect to find in a hotel of this price point, and it is easily accessible from the interstate.

Worst best western. Room was clean but shabby. Chair broken. Carpet needs cleaning. Pool was closed. Breakfast not that great. I wish I could have a do over. Never never stay at Best Western. it was also away from main attractions in Chattanooga

The room was clean. The night was quiet, meaning a good night sleep. Lookout Mountain was close and downtown Chattanooga was straight down the road, did not have to use the interstate. A Wal-Mart and Logan Roadhouse were in walking distance. Motel is also a quarter of a mile from I-24. ,

I was satisfied with the hotel except for the mattresses. The bed actually sunk in. Both beds should have been replaced long ago. The breakfast was fair and the staff was very friendly. We drove into Chattanooga each day and it was an easy drive.

I was under the impression it was closer to the I75 when we booked, however it was alright for the price I guess. It was dated and one of our keys didn't work. Even though they knew there would be 4 in each room, (we booked 2 rooms) there was only towels for 2 and one little bar of soap. The rooms could use painting and brightening up and the parking lot had a lot of litter. The breakfast offerings were okay, but the juice is nothing but water. AWFUL.

Good clean rooms, has individual coffee maker in the room, Exterior corridors so it is somewhat noisy with traffic from nearby interstate and local traffic also with sirens clearly heard. plentiful breakfast with eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, [plus make your own waffles. Watery orange juice but apple juice is normal. Breakfast items replaced constantly during serving hours. Ask for room as far from highway as possible to reduce noise in room.

We stayed one night at this hotel. The check in was speedy and the staff was friendly and helpful. The one negative about this hotel was that the rooms open to the outside. I booked the room without knowing this because the picture of the hotel was deceiving. I never stay where the rooms open to the outside due to noise and safety but we were already charged and would not be refunded if we cancelled. This is an older hotel but has been updated. The room was clean, large flat screen TV, beds were comfortable, and room was clean.

Easy on and off from major interstate. A little dated but clean and the staff was great. Free breakfast and it was very good. Would recomend if you need to stay over for 1 night like we did, Zack was super when we checked in. It was late and we were tired and he was helpful in getting us a room on ground floor and we were able to park right in front of our room.

"Great Overnight Stop"

Conveniently located off I-24. Plenty of restaurants in close proximity plus a Walmart Super Center a block away. Check in was fast and the gentleman at the front desk was very courteous. My reservation incorrectly showed up as a smoking room and he was able to quickly change me to a non-smoking room with a king bed. Room had both a microwave and a nice small fridge with a freezer compartment. That is especially nice when you are traveling with food and can put your freezer packs in for an overnight recharge. I rarely eat the the "free" included breakfast so I cannot offer any comments on it. Pros Fast check in Very comfortable bed Large screen TV Large comfortable room Overall very clean Beautiful area Cons A bit dated but nothing really that would be unacceptable For the most part the room was very clean. I carry a UV blacklight to inspect for grime that is invisible in normal room light. The toilet could use some attention, but this is almost always the case in every hotel I have stayed. Beyond that the room was spotless. Built on a hillside so parking can be a bit restricted. If you are pulling a trailer, they do have a designated area for RVs, trucks and trailers but you will not be able to park close to your room. No elevator, so if you are mobility impaired or can't climb stairs this may not be the place for you, if no ground floor rooms are available. All in all, I am quite satisfied with my room and would not hesitate to stay here again.

This hotel was very clean and updated. The have 3 floors. No elevators, stairs only. Everything was clean and beautiful. Great continental breakfast choices, and plenty of restaurants around. Excellent information on area attractions. VERY comfortable beds. I am a smoker, stayed in a smoking room, and you would never know it was a smoking room. My Dad is a non smoker, and didn't smell a thing.

"Great Stay, for those on a budget"

I booked through Priceline Express, didn't know the name of the place until booking was complete. It's never let me down & this motel is no exception. The rooms are spotless! Kept that way by a very friendly housekeeping staff. The front desk clerks, specifically Deserie, go above & beyond for guest. Any possible need we had was met by all staff members with a great attitude & smile. The place was booked solid our entire visit, the staff never let any frustration about that show.The property is well maintained. It's a great location, away from the bustle of downtown. There's Walmart directly behind, Wendy's next door, & Cracker Barrel just up the road. The view from the 3rd floor, west facing gets the beautiful sunsets. Large tv & fridge in the rooms & dorm size microwave. It's a 10 min, easy, drive to downtown. Maybe 5 mins to the road for Lookout Mt., the Mt provides the backdrop for the property. Breakfast is adequate to fill 2 hungry boys & decent coffee in the lobby. It's a bit older, but the recent remodel updated it. It's 3 stories, with no elevator. The only ice machine is on the second level. Those are the only negatives, but they aren't bad. The AC units show their age, externally, but most work fine. We would definitely stay here again! The staff & clean rooms alone would be worth it. I've seen plenty of dogs here & there's ample grass patches to walk them.

Pretty standard highway interchange hotel. Conveniently located with plenty of services nearby. There are restaurants within walking distance. Our room was a bit dated and in need of some updating/maintenance. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty basic. Overall we were satisfied but not overly impressed.

Hotel was serviceable. It was extremely busy with Hurricane Mathew guest. Staff was overwhelmed and management didn't provide the proper support needed to put them in a place for success. Pillows are very thick and don't compress very much. Frustrating for someone who prefers a feather pillow.

We stayed here 3 nights and were in a corner room with a king size bed, closest to the Hwy. If you concentrated, you could hear a bit of traffic noise but it didn't bother our sleep. The room was clean and the pool looked inviting (although we didn't get to it). Being partially disabled, I was a bit concerned that there is no elevator, however Frank (he works there) was happy to help get our bags from the car to the room, and when we checked out, he helped get them from the room to the car. (Nice guy!!!) The staff was friendly and made helpful suggestions for things to see and do. Being close to the various highways, it was a good place to stay.

We checked in around 6p.m Sat. night Oct. 1 front desk was helpful and courteous. went to check room looked clean and orderly. hotel was busy. we went to dinner returned around 9p.m. people in next room had pulled out their chairs were sitting on the walkway talking loudly smoking and drinking finally at 10:30 i knocked on the window and told them we were trying to sleep they went in their room shortly after yelling at us to go to sleep. tried to turn on the light at the vanity to brush teeth and light was out. got up the next morning got in the shower stepped out and was drying off when the light cover on the ceiling light in the bathroom fell and hit me in the back. informed the front desk on check out and was told sorry about that. bad experience for us and last time staying at a Best Western.

The motel is close to the interstate and outside the downtown area. It has easy access to Lookout Mountain, other attractions and a direct drive to downtown. Our room was clean and comfortable and the price was a good value. The breakfast was ready on time and a fair selection of motel breakfast food. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a pleasant stay.

Rooms were nicely renovated and look very similar to the pictures the property has posted. Very convenient location only a few minutes away from downtown Chattanooga and Ruby Falls. My only complaint would be that we had a non smoking room but it still wreaked of smoke.

Only spent one night and won't be going back. The clerk was really helpful and kind but the hotel is looking tired inside and out. Few amenities but it was a small place but to boast an exercise room when the hairdryer fell to pieces in my hands, the mirror on the door was not anchored and therefore banged all of the time. The buttons to change channels on the remote did not work neither did the coffee maker.

This hotel might not look like the nicest hotel from the outside, but the inside of the rooms & lobby have been updated very nicely! The rooms were clean and the bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in! We even made a joke about strapping it to the roof of the car & taking it home! Breakfast was excellent! Only downfall is they don't serve milk, so if you're a milk drinker, bring your own. But they had a nice selection of food & drinks!

This is a place I used in the past. With the upgrade to the BW brand the Inn is spending money to improve the business. Convenient access to I24. Next to a shopping center with plenty of places to eat. Breakfast was standard fare with fresh fruit and fresh bread. Check-in/out was easy. Used a coupon and got a great deal.

Nice clean budget hotel - the desk lady was kind enough to find us a room even though we arrived early. The room was very clean and well maintained, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located for Lookout Mountain attractions as well as being close to the centre of town. It has restaurants and Walmart right next door. We used the outdoor pool and again found this to be clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good and we had a reasonable choice. Overall we would recommend this as being a very good location for a short stay.

We stopped late in the evening after a long drive from Florida. We specifically looked for a Best Western. The price was in the middle of three properties we had to choose from in the Chattanooga, TN area. We selected this property because the price included breakfast. Although it met our needs, the property is older and because of its location in the Lookout Valley this should make it prime for a major remodeling. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall, the amenities were satisfactory, too.

Very good location but be warned - parking is tight. Most spaces seem designed for economy cars and, even worse, they are on a slope. High potential for door dents if someone if not careful opening their door. This is an older hotel and has maintenance issues. The door did not fit tight, lock took several tries for the card to read, etc. There is only one ice machine for the motel and it was usually out of ice. Cleanliness is better than many places. Beds were triple-sheeted and comfortable. TV remote is in some anti-germ bag. The ac in my room worked well. Staff was very limited with just one person working in the evening. Clayton was very polite, helpful and professional at check-in. Gentleman at checkout was not so polite (not rude but not overly friendly) and did not even ask how the stay was or for a return visit. Breakfast was above average with scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, toast, yogurt, etc. They have a good presentation but lose it with plastic silverware that is in horizontal trays and not individually wrapped! The room has four coffee packets and hot cups but no stir sticks, sugar or creamers but only one bar of soap and a tiny bottle of shampoo for up to 4 people.

Took a spur of the moment trip to lookout mountain. Went to this hotel because it was the first one to pop up on google maps. Our room was clean and the bed was soft. There was a problem with the contraption they called a blow dryer. But other than that it was just a room with a bed.

The people that work at this Best Western are what set it apart. Flora that works at the front desk makes you feel like family and Frank, the EXCELLENT maintenance guy makes you feel like he's your brother....and fixes whatever needs to be repaired or simply adjusted lightening fast! I have stayed several times and will ALWAYS stay here when my travels bring me to Chattanooga, TN!

One thing that did surprise us was that our beds were not made when we got back to our room that evening. Other than that the room was very clean, comfortable and close to every where we wanted to go to. The staff was friendly and helpful. A really good value for the money! I would stay there again if I traveled to Chattanooga some time again in the future.

Do not stay here! It is not safe! My truck was broken into last night and things were stolen. This is not a safe hotel. The management does absolutely nothing to help make this place safe. Even a fake camera for $20 might have prevented this person with bolt cutters driving up to my truck, snapping the lock, and with headlamps on, unloading my big screen tv, rummaging through and taking things, and getting in their vehicle and driving away! Yes I contacted police and filed a report. Don't stay here!

In general, this appears to be a fairly well maintained, but older hotel. The staff that I dealt with (Clayton and Zac) were very courteous and professional. The room was clean and in decent repair for its age. Large flat screen tv's (need better cable service), comfortable bed and sofa. A/C was much appreciated on a hot day. Internet was sketchy as it faded in an out often. Unable to watch streaming video when tv cable was acting up. Tight parking spaces. Only appeared to be one ice machine and it was often empty. Have stayed several times but mainly due to how nice the front desk staff is. Breakfast is better than many hotels with scrambled eggs and sausage in addition to the standard cereal, waffles and toast plus juices.

We chose BW because the central reservation agent said they have roll away beds for $10 or a king bed room with a double bed pull out couch; we need space for 5. We hoped for the availability of the roll away. When we got there the sweet kid at the desk said this hotel has no roll aways. So by default, we took the king with the couch bed. The room was non smoking, but smelled of smoke and air freshener. The couch looked like a frat house reject. The cushions were damp and dirty. We took the cushions off and pulled out the bed which was a mess. The mattress looked clean but the metal bed frame was bent and mangled. We had to pull and tug to make it straight. My husband tried to lay in it and it closed up on him. We complained but we were stuck, it was too late and we were tired. We pulled and tugged more and made it so two could lay with out getting folded in. The next day the smooth talking management guy said they have roll aways, just none available, and when I told him about the couch bed, he said, "oh that's broken." He blamed all misinformation on the night check in kid, I didn't believe him, he just wanted me to go away. He said he will discount my room, but when he gave me my reciept, it was the original price! It was obvious he didn't care at all and was patronizing and indifferent. When I told him the ice machine didn't work, he had no reply. Don't be fooled by the fresh coat of paint on the outside. The place should be less than $100 a night even without being folded into a mattress taco.

We stayed here back in November for a stopping point to FL. Since we had such a positive experience, we choose this place again. It is a perfect hotel for that quick over night stay. We had a pet friendly room with laminate floors. You could not tell that another pet had stayed in the room. It's nice to find a reasonable hotel that is clean and well maintained. Beds were comfortable. Even with the doors opening up to the parking lot and being near a main road, it was not noisy.

We made a reservation through hotels.com from a cell phone. Nowhere on the mobile-friendly site was there an indication that this was a smoking room. When we arrived and checked-in, we realized this. We could not spend the night with a 19-month old toddler in the tobacco-saturated room! They said this was the only room available and they could not accommodate us, toddler or no toddler! They also said that they were still going to charge us $102 for one night!!! We saw at least 2-3 cars parked outside (smoking), waiting to see if there were going to be any cancellations, so I am sure they rented that room out easily that night! A vast majority of the hotels is now completely smoke-free. If you are the one going against the default (have smoking room and are selling them as such), please make it known and apparent to a customer that this is a smoking room during the reservation process. This is what good commerce is. My advice to Flora Pickett, the General Manager of this hotel, is to re-think your approach on how you treat your customers. We also contacted hotels.com's customer service and they were not any help either. Tatiana

This Motel was very different from any Best Western I have stayed in. It was a motel instead of a hotel, the pool was dirty and there were a lot of things that were dirty and outdated. I think we over paid for the condition of the place.

Location was great without being in the city, the cleaning staff was very nice, breakfast was great kids loved all the options. Coffee was the best me and my husband have ever had from a hotel. Beds were very comfortable. There isn't really one thing I could say bad about this hotel, maybe that they need to update there info notebook there was an ad for a pizza place that was no longer there. Enjoyed our stay would go back when we return to Chattanooga.

My family of 3 were pleasantly greeted at checkin. Checkin was quick and efficient. Our room was on the 2nd floor and overlooked the pool. (We did not use). The room contained 2 doubles, a table w/2 chair, a flat screen and dresser/microwave/refrigerator combination. The sink was located outside of the bathroom (a plus). We were all able to access internet in moments. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Logan's was within walking distance and we enjoyed dinner there. I saw no pets nor signs of pets on the property. The hotel was quiet and we had a quick and pleasant checkout. Flora was on duty during our checkin and checkout. Thank you for your friendliness. We enjoyed our stay and plan on visiting again on our way back through in a few days. (Just a few miles from Ruby Falls/Rock City.)

We checked in and couldn't get in the room. Took the night Manager coming to try repeatedly to get door to work. Finally got in, room was outdated compared to pictures and hot. Had a/c turned down to 60 just to try and cool it. Bathroom was small and no vent to take heat out or let a/c in. Was told by Manager on duty that happens all the time with the doors??? Breakfast was good and that was about it. Paid 140 for the night and could have paid about 20 more at several surrounding places that looked much nicer. I will remember that again if we go thru there.

Room was cramped and parking is terrible. Service was outstanding! Pool was small and needed cleaned. Location was nice as it was on the outskirts of Chattanooga. If you are just passing through and need a descent place to stay this will be perfect. If you and looking for a comfortable vacation get-away opt for somewhere else as this place is quite cramped. Overall it was fair but nothing to write home about.

Don't stay on road side, you will hear traffic. Advertise with views, I didn't see any. Now the good stuff, very clean, good staff, good pool. Close to attractions. Wendy's, gas station and beer store within walking distance. Also a Logan steakhouse, but I wouldn't recommend.

immediate check in was a bad start to the stay - waited in lobby for 10 minutes before i had to go to the upstairs and find management (living quarters above lobby). breakfast seating is limited and they do not have a high chair. breakfast is very basic and not that great. ac in room seemed to never work properly - it would only run for a few minutes and kick off. parking is tight. only benefit is location. not worth the money though.

This BW is close to the highway, which is good. You get there late from a long drive, you check in, you sleep, you get up and leave. That's about it. The rooms are nothing special, but at least they are clean. The heater/AC is loud and mostly ineffective, but it drowns out the parking lot noise. The TV's are ancient, and the 'breakfast' is....uninspiring. Overall, this is a place to stop on your way if you need 8 hours rest, and have dog. If you don't need a dog friendly place, there are better options.

They really worked hard to accommodate me but this hotel's cleaning products set my allergies off BIG time! It is VERY clean and it was just too much for my system. Eyes began to burn, throat closed up, ears began to get stopped up. They gave me another room with carpet versus hard wood but the air conditioner did not work in that one. Overcleaning. If you are sensitive to such things, beware!

We stayed for 3 nights after making a phone reservation for a pet friendly room. When we arrived they had overbooked an only had regular rooms available - they called us twice on two different days about dogs barking in the room and asked if we notified them that we had dogs - this staff obviously doesn't talk to each other or keep good records or even look into situations before calling us on our cell phone - but the people smoking in the non smoking rooms next door was obviously fine too, outdoor area to walk pets was extremely tiny and the poop bags were always empty, breakfast wasn't very good. Rooms weren't extremely clean, size was okay and they did have a coffee maker, blow dryer, table and chairs, mini fridge and microwave which is always nice. Hotel had a pool but was worn and needed to be updated. I would definitely go back to Chattanooga - it was great town with lots to see - but I won't be staying here ever again. It's a shame because we picked this hotel since it was listed on the Rock City (which is dog friendly) website as a pet friendly place - I'd pick one of the others to try! It was a good location - short drive to attractions and shared a lot with a Walmart. However, after staying here I'm surprised a destination like that would advertise a place like this.

Lots of fast food and Walmart nearby. The room was fine- clean, roomy. It is motel style, which some don't like. Since it is pet friendly we were awakened at 6 AM by a dog going out and barking. Breakfast was fine, average. The staff was super friendly.

Stayed in chattanooga for one night and paid less than 100 for the room. Overall the experience was worth recommending to another traveler. PROS: *The staff was nice, we had someone named Isaiah taking care of everything at the desk for us *The pool for the hotel was clean and even open a little later than regularly scheduled *The rooms were updated, such as flat screen TV and a/c to help beat the humidity of the area (I never thought this was something to be glad about until I paid for a hotel three times as much as this room and the TV were still fat back Flintstone aged and there a/c did not work) *Their breakfast is free *BEDS WERE EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE! (I was jealous of their beds in comparison to my own at home) CONS: *I suspected the bath tub was not cleaned correctly after their last guest so I did not take a shower *The stairways outside of the rooms are loud at night with late comers (I was too tired to notice but we did notice before drowning in sleep) *There is only an ice machine upstairs on the 2nd level and you must bring your own little cup or bucket *Parking spaces should be a little more wider apart (a lot of trucks were there that night we stayed and I was afraid someone would hit my car or vice versa of me backing out) *Felt as if I needed more blankets so I stole the other bed comforter and used that *Although we only stayed one night and was afraid to make use of the shower, if we would have there would not have been enough towels for the 2 of us.

We stayed just 1 night in Chattanooga so we could go to the Tennessee Aquarium. This hotel was only a few miles away. It's located next to a Walmart shopping center, gas stations and restaurants. It has exterior halls but everything was very clean and nicely done. There was an outside pool that we didn't get the chance to use but it looked very clean and nice. We would stay here again if in the area.

Front desk personnel was very welcoming and friendly; however, they gave us the wrong key. After getting the new key, we walked into a room we had not booked (it was a smoking room with just a king bed and we had booked a non-smoking room with 2 beds). By this time, my husband was aggravated as it was late and we had already unloaded and carried all our bags around for 15 minutes. The room décor was ok for a budget level hotel, but the noise level from the highway kept my husband awake most of the night. The shower was large, but the bathroom did not have an exhaust fan to remove the steam and moisture, which made the room even more humid. I didn't mind my bed, but my daughter said hers was very uncomfortable. The free breakfast was nothing to brag about, but always a plus to have. All in all, I definitely wouldn't stay there again with all the other options in the area in its class. We usually stay at hotels with a class rating of 2 1/2 or more. This was rated a 2 1/2 star hotel, but it was definitely not as nice as all the others we've booked in its class.

We had stayed at this hotel before so did not search for any other. This time was not a pleasure. It was just the two of us. There was only 1 bath towel, 1 washcloth and 1 hand towel. One bar of soap and 1 bottle of shampoo/conditioner. The room was not very clean and was shabby looking. Good thing we had two double beds because there was no way we could have slept together. Breakfast had very few choices. Will not be staying there again.

"Nothing "Royal" About the Royal Inn"

On arrival, the Best Western couldn't find our reservation made through Booking.com: maybe this was a sign we shouldn't have proceeded, but we made a call to Booking.com who confirmed our reservation was in fact forwarded to the Best Western Royal Inn on the 8th November 2015. The clerk on the front desk said there were rooms available, and so we checked in. On entering the room, we quickly discovered a tissue by the bedside unit, which had not been removed when the room had been "cleaned" from a previous guest using that room. We could also see on the "wooden" floor where a fizzy drink had been spilt and not cleaned and also this "fizzy" drink was evident against the wooden bed head too. Light by one side of the bed, the socket did not work to charge phone / camera etc. Loose toilet seat and also loose towel rail in the bathroom. Also behind the bathroom door dirt and dust as clearly they only open the door to "clean" and I will use term loosely and do not clean behind the door! The rooms were noisy as you could hear guests in adjoining rooms. Limited toiletries supplied and not topped up on a daily basis. We were out for all of the next day and when we arrived back to the room, our bed had not been made or freshened with clean linen. There were however, clean towels and the bins had been emptied. We asked at the front desk why no clean bedding or the bed remade and was told " it is done every other day". OK we accepted what we were told. The following day having been out for the whole day again, we returned to our room to find the bed had not been remade or bedding changed, which we had assumed would happen as we had been told the previous day. As we were checking out the next day, it wasn't worth going to reception to say our room had not been attended too. The breakfast was very basic and didn't look appealing. Towels very thin and old. It seems for security reasons also they change the internet log in code every Monday, but don't tell their guests. It would be simple to mention this at check in, put it in the guest information folder in the room, phone the room for those guests still staying and leave a message for them advising of this. But no its for the guests to find out when they cannot log on to the internet. There is also a sign saying pets allowed by prior arrangement, if we had known this we would definitely have not stayed here. We never stay at places where pets are allowed, as this is our personal preference. It doesn't bear thinking about what those rooms are like that have had pets in - you would like to think that they have designated "pet" rooms, but who knows. The hotel was close to Ruby Falls, Look Out Mountain/Rock City / Incline Railway. There is a swimming pool at the "hotel" but it didn't look inviting. Upon check out - the Manager, Flora asked if we had been happy with our stay and so we mentioned all of the above - she did seem somewhat surprised and shocked. She agreed to refund one nights stay, which was appreciated. However, on checking our booking confirmation from Booking.com, on arrival back here in the UK, we have in fact been overcharged and not the rate agreed last November, and as yet no sign of a refund on the on line banking showing a reversal of the overcharged cost and a revised bill, which is still more than the original confirmation of the cost from Booking.com. This will be taken up with both parties. Can really recommend Logan Steakhouse virtually adjacent to the BW. BW are run on a franchise basis and I cannot believe this place is allowed to trade under this international banner. This place needs investment, the pictures shown on the internet are very deceptive, clearly the management are happy to overcharge you on an agreed rate and clearly not wanting to reinvest in the property. Couldn't wait to leave.

The staff was great but the room was terrible. The bath room need to be cleaned the curtains smelled like smoke. They told me we had the best room in the house, not so. The grout around the toilet & bathtub was so black it looked like it has never been cleaned. The dirt behind the bathroom door tells me they don't mop the floor

It was a late night stop to get a room during a recent trip from Florida to Indiana. There are several hotels in the vicinity, but I chose the Best Western because of good past experiences with this chain. If you drive a larger vehicle, such as my pickup truck, be prepared for the small parking lot that wraps around the building. When cars are parked along the edge, it makes it very tight to fit around the building. While the bed was comfortable, the room smelled like smoke once I turned on the AC unit. People go out on the walkways and smoke outside, so there really isn't any way to get around this. Had I known, I would have stayed elsewhere. The rest of the room was what a bit less than average for the price paid. The decor and furnishings are somewhat dated and the shower wasn't anything spectacular. Again, I did sleep comfortably, which was really needed. Also, the breakfast area is in the lobby and is very small. I think there were maybe four tables in all.

Our room was on the second floor but as the parking lot slants we did not have to walk up stairs. They did not have a king room available so we had two doubles. The room seemed dated but had a fridge and microwave. I understand this is a highway motel but it had some type of boys team there and they ran up and down outside the door and some kind of basketball bouncing on the floor above us and jumping on the bed. it was horrible. I called the front desk and it slowed down a little but not much. The next morning as we checked out the clerk apologized and said they told the coach. There was no shampoo or conditioner in the room. There is a Walmart across the street so I was able to buy some.

The location of this hotel is good. It's in a beautiful area of TN. That said, the room was disappointing. The bathroom area was not clean. Every time I walked into that area, my feet were dirty! Ok, the only positive thing I can say about this place is the location is convenient to I24 and 75. With that said, the room we had was not exactly clean. In fact, I'm pretty sure the toilet bowl had not been cleaned. The bed was made sloppily made and the sheets were dingy and stained. The couch in the room was filthy and looked as if it had seen better days several years ago. They are pet friendly but there is no green space to walk your dog. We did not stay for breakfast since I figured it would be about as good as our room. Also, this is not a hotel. It is an old motel with all doors opening directly into the parking lot. When we left, there was a some guy sleeping in his pick up truck so it would be safe to say the parking lot was not monitored.

Disappointed that we were given a smoking room. When we made reservations on trip advisor, there was no indication that we would receive a smoking room. It didn't provide an option to pick smoking or nonsmoking. Other than that, we were satisfied.

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Royal Inn on a trip to Chattanooga. At check in Angela was very sweet and helpful. The room was clean and roomy. The hotel was very close to Rock City and Look Out Mountain. There was a Walmart right behind it which made for easy shopping of a couple things we needed. Overall I was very satisfied we our stay. I would definitely stay there again.My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Royal Inn on a trip to Chattanooga. At check in Angela was very sweet and helpful. The room was clean and roomy. My familly of 5 decided on a quick overnighter in Chattanooga to visit the Aquarium the next day. We were in room 220 and it was just a plain double queen, but it was a lot more spacious than we expected it to be and very clean. Room rates were a lot cheaper than if we were to get a place closer to the Aquarium or get the hotels with the "aquarium packages". We ended up spending less money by staying here and buying our tickets separate.... and we were only 10 minutes from the Aquarium. It was just what we needed. Every staff member I saw was extremely nice and we had a great time. Thank you Best Western Royal Inn! We will be back for our next overnighter!

I had issues my second day there. My room needed to be clean and I needed fresh towels Etc. So I left in the morning to go on my adventures and when I returned my "do not disturb"hanger was mysteriously hanging on the OUTSIDE of my door. I am 110% certain I didn't put that there. I specifically remember seeing it on the floor in the room next to the desk .The housekeeping lady (who I saw that morning outside my door cleaning the next room) obviously didn't feel like cleaning my room and opened the door and put that hanger up when I left . When I returned I went to talk to the front desk lady and told her my situation . She was oh so very rude , looked at me with a snotty face and says "well what do you want me to do about it " . I got real upset and she called the managers on the phone and and was saying to them "I'll quit if you make me clean that room blah blah blah ...completely unprofessional. She didn't by any means handle the situation properly. She should have apologized and said let me get you towels or something !!! It was ridiculous. Horrible customer service. The next morning the manager spoke to us and the housekeeper lied about putting the hanger there and claimed it was already there. Why would I put it there if I needed my room cleaned?!! Hello! She needs to be fired. Or they need to get cameras so they could have seen her do that. The manager apologized but seemed to be siding with the employees and not believing me . She kept trying to justify it by sayin "well I saw the do not disturb sign".Well that doesn't mean I put it there!! The housekeeper put it there then the manager saw it AFTER! It isn't rocket science I'm just absolutely baffled this happened. Who does that ?.. . As far as everything else...The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from the parking lot and the rooms above and next to you. The parking is super tight . The only positive thing about my stay was the biscuits and gravy. They were amazing and the bed was comfy

We were passing through Chattanooga and enjoyed this location because of it's proximity to Lookout Mountian. It is also located close to great shopping and restaurants and away from the busy traffic of downtown. The staff are great, rooms are spacious and the breakfast delicious.

Everything was excellent. I plan to stay here again when going back to Florida. Rate was very good and it was a great place to stop and get needed rest before traveling to Chicago. Breakfast had eggs, sausages, cereal, juice, waffles, yogurt, donuts, bagels, biscuits and gravy, toast, coffee and milk .Everything was hot and was always full.

Manager was going to charge me an extra 6.00 for another night, so I checked out as it was the principle.I explained that I usually stayed there when I came in town and wanted to keep the same rate but he would not hear of it.. Embarrassing problem when we couldn't get the toilet to flush. Housekeeping wasn't in, requested a plunger that a staff person brought to the room. We fixed the issue ourselves.

We were looking for something economical on our way to FL. This place was a very pleasant surprise. When we walked into our room, it smelled fresh and clean and looked spotless. The sheets were soft and VERY clean. Could have used an extra blanket. The free breakfast consisted of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, juice, waffles, bagels, donuts, yogurt, cereal, coffee. The breakfast area had a great TV, free newspapers and wsvery clean. The reservationist was so pleasant and accommodating.

Stayed here only 1 night while passing thru area. Room was clean & spacious. However is a little dated. Handicap travelers might have a tough time here as the property is on a big down sloap on side of a hill. parking lot is not flat at all. Next door to a Wendy's & a Logan's Roadhouse. We would stay here again if passing thru.

I could not remember from several years ago why we stopped staying here but our recent trip reminded me why. We requested a first floor room for my disabled wife but this did not happen. Common amenities like shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc were not in the room and a call to the front desk yielded that they do not supply them and never have. The towels were as rough as sandpaper and the beds were lumpy. Did not sleep too well this night. On our return trip through Chattanooga we stayed at a Quality Inn at exit 175 for $30 cheaper with a full display of amenities and soft, fluffy towels. We also got the first floor as requested.

I have stayed at this hotel every time that I have been in the area. It is very nice and clean. The employees are very nice and very efficient. The beds are very comfortable and clean. I love the hardwood floors. Sure looks better than the stained carpet. I would recommend this place to anyone. Room 113 is my favorite.

The Royal Inn has exceptional Staff and super clean and comfortable rooms every time we stay. The beds are so comfortable you don't wish to get up. The staff is very helpful even offering to assist helping with taking bags up the stairs. Always go the extra mile.

The only reason I, personally, wouldn't give this hotel five stars is because it's located right next to a Walmart on a somewhat busy highway, and there isn't much else to choose from in the immediate vicinity as far as restaurants and shopping. That may be seen as a plus to some travelers, however. It was fine for our purposes--we just needed to use our rewards points to stay one night and weren't looking to do any sightseeing. The king bed was very comfortable, and the tub was pretty big with plenty of hot water. Air and fridge worked fine, and check-in was easy and courteous. Would stay again if passing through Chattanooga, but wouldn't make this a destination as it is kind of out of the way for touristy-type things. However, the downtown area, restaurants, and aquarium are close enough that if you were to prefer staying away from downtown, it wouldn't be too much of a hassle to drive there.

Far below standards no hot water in the am did nothing to rectify the situation, No wake up call. Breakfast was below standards for Best Western. Beds were extremely hard. Kind of noisy, semi's park near rooms and run all night, tankers blowing off pressure and making noise all night. Check out staff rude when asked about no hot water in the am, said it is out of our hands.

We stayed here en route to Memphis during a driving holiday in the USA. We were trying not to stay at the freeway side accommodation precincts, so when we got to this one, we wanted to make sure the hotel was of a good standard. The Best Western brand promise is good and we were not disappointed with the Royal Inn. The room was quite large, with modern decor and furniture. The location was noisy, however the quality of the building and insulation of the rooms, meant that once the door was closed, there was little noise from outside. Breakfast was substantial and served in a comfortable dining area. The hotel is adjacent to a small shopping mall that includes a Walmart, so it was easy to walk in and get food and supplies. Check-in was friendly, but check out, by a different person, was a bit clinical. The person was of little help when I asked for advice on Best Western properties in Memphis.

The hotel has a good location for getting to Chattanooga and very convenient to Lookout Mountain. A few restaurants close and the restaurants in Chattanooga are 5-10 minutes by car. The beds are comfortable, the room is a good size, ample parking, the room was clean, hotel breakfast was standard, wifi free but so so... in other words, all amenities as expected. Nothing great but very comfortable. The main attraction was a family of cats that regularly hung out in the parking lot. They were the only distinguishing characteristic of this Best Western.

Very easy to get to when coming into Chattanooga from the NW. It's close to Lookout Mountain, so that was fun to explore, The room was clean w/separate sitting area. We are in a corner room next to the road, so traffic was a little noisy. Breakfast was adequate. We'd stay here again.

The room is very comfortable for a young family, it is split into 2 rooms one with sofa bed and on the other section is the king size bed, very clean, overlooks the mountain where it is a beautiful view, adjacent to super Walmart, Parking is on a hilly area so your car will be parked in an30 or 40 degree angle. They have a good breakfast. Staff are very helpful. Very close to attractions. Very reasonable price.

A partial list of failings of this motel: 1. Front desk person WAY too interested in berating an employee to even bother noticing a customer (and four groups were waiting.) 2. Pet room we booked (for cat) had animal food spread throughout room, along bed, in bathroom. No vacuuming had been done since prior visitors (but we were paying $15.00 for a pet room cleaning.) 3. A nail sticking up out of a border strip from carpet to tile entering bathroom, to the point it could have cut a foot. 4. Coffee pot did not work. Had to be replaced. 5. Shower head ring pulled away from wall. This is obviously a way out of date, poorly maintained 1960's motel in need of intense rehab or demolition.

Stayed there one night property was maintained in excellent condition. Common areas were clean and liter free balconies and steps were swept and mopped.The room were the cleanest I have stayed in and have stayed at many 4 star resorts and recently a five star that could not match how clean this room was.. Also the the staff was eager to meet any of your needs. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer place at this rate.

This hotel is located on the outskirts of Chattanooga, near Lookout Mountain and Raccoon Cavern Mountain. It is a short drive into Chattanooga, and just off the highway. The room had 2 double beds and was quiet. Breakfast in the lobby was delicious and plentiful - the gentleman handling the breakfast area was most efficient. Angela and Peter at the front desk both answered every question we had about the area. We did have an issue with the toilet in our room the last night - we were given a plunger and told that the plumbing was due to be snaked out the following day.

No complaints here, except for the noisy heating/air conditioning unit. Clean, nice beds and pillows, no carpet on the floor which is good when staying in a pet friendly room with your own pets. Not a bad hot breakfast in the lobby, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and sausage gravy, juices, yogurt, cereal, and the coffee is not bad for hotel coffee. Grassy area to walk the dogs, even poop bags available in dog walking area. A little pricey for each dog ($15 extra for each dog), but all in all, a pleasant place to spend the night.

We were traveling from Florida to Illinois and had only recently started staying at Best Westerns. This property did not disappoint! The desk clerk was friendly and explained the amenities. Nice clean room, pet friendly, beautiful wood laminate floors instead of nasty carpets. Coffee pot and blow dryer in the room, as well as a microwave and small fridge. Located conveniently just off of I-24, with lots of dining choices nearby. The king size bed was perfect! It had nice clean sheets and plenty of pillows. Breakfast is served beginning at 6:30 a.m., and there's a nice selection...scrambled eggs, waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausage, coffee, tea and juice. Because we're now Best Western Rewards members, we got a $25 discount and additional points to use on our next trip. You can also request a room with a view of Lookout Mountain! AARP, military and AAA discounts are also available. All in all, a welcome stop on our trip!

We have had no luck finding a decent, reasonably priced hotel room that allows dogs while traveling. We only need a room overnight so we don't want to spend a lot of money. We found this hotel on this site and decided to give it a try based off of the reviews. We checked into a clean room with laminate floors. I don't know why more hotels who allow pets would put laminate floors in their pet rooms. No pet smells to clean up. No stains. Thank you Best Western!

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel was very clean and extremely reasonable. We couldn't have picked a better location. It was convenient to everything we did while we were in Chattanooga. The check in process was very easy and the staff were very friendly. We did not take advantage of the breakfast offered but I did pass through the lobby one morning and it looked like a nice offering. The only thing I would have to say negative, and it was not that bad, was one side of the king bed dipped a little bit but I still slept well.

I have stayed in many a hotel with my dog and usually that means that you have to settle for a smoking room with questionably stained carpet. Not so a the Best Western Royal Inn. They put a lot of thought into the comfort and convenience of their pet–friendly rooms. So much so, that I decided to take time to write a review. 1. The floors were a beautiful wood laminate! I've never seen that before. No carpet. Which was good since it was rainy while we were there. (It would be helpful to have a broom in the room to sweep out grass clippings in between maid services). 2. Location – the room was right across from the dog walking area. And they had a special trash can with pick-up bags available. 3. Hair dryer – at first I was confused by the antique looking hair dryer but soon I realized that it was intended to be used on people and pets. It had a long flexible hose that could reach down to a wet dog standing on the floor. 4. No comforter. They had a blanket sandwiched between two sheets. Much easier for us and them to keep clean. 5. Quick maid service. Special Thanks to Janine, who cleaned our room. We told her when we were leaving with our pet and she said she would have the room done in 30 min. We always came back to find the cleaning exceeded our expectations. 6. Extra towels without asking - They stocked the room with three sets. One for each person and another for the dog. It was great to have extra towels to wipe his wet feet. The one thing that could have made the room more comfortable - for us - would be the addition of a dresser. The extra drawer and counter space would have been helpful since we were staying for a week and had a lot of dog supplies and extra clothing. But I imagine they removed the dresser so that pets could have more floor space to roam. Big KUDOS to this hotel. It is the best pet friendly room I have encountered in my travels and I applaud the smart thinking that went into the design. Highly recommended for travelers with pets.

We don't like staying in exterior room hotels but this was the last hotel in the area that had a room left so we stayed here. The outside of the hotel was the only thing we didn't care for. The inside was great. Rooms are updated with nice décor and clean, just like pictures showed. Just need more tables/chairs for breakfast area.

We were given a large room that had been converted from a Jacuzzi room. The floor was a wooden laminate and very clean. The bath had tile floors and everything was spotless. I prefer these type of floors since you never know what is deep down in the carpets.We were next to the road, but the noise was bearable. The breakfast was the average breakfast but the scrambled eggs were tasty.. Close to restaurants and main highway.

Between being extremely close to the very busy Cummings Highway and other guests making a great deal of noise outside at all hours, this place is LOUD. Bring earplugs or stay elsewhere! Also, while the hotel has been updated, the work done was shoddy at best. It's easily the worst Best Western we've stayed at, though that still makes it better than many other hotel chains.

We made Chattanooga our stopover on the way home from Florida with the intention of visiting Lookout Mt. but we were too late and too tired to go. The hotel is older, but the price seemed reasonable. The room was very clean and no bed bugs. We took advantage of the free breakfast before leaving. Close to the highway.

We stayed here for two nights on a visit to Lookout Mountain. The Room was very clean and comfortable. The front desk clerk was very friendly and it was very convenient to Lookout Mountain. The only thing I would like to see different were the hair dryers. They were very old and took for ever to dry your hair.

When we drove up I was astonished, I thought I was checking into a hotel but truly is was motel in a run area. The decor was updated but the fridge had mold the lock in the door was broken and it was sooooooo musty. The worse part was the cost. $93 a night before taxes. Save your money and go further into Chattanooga...

We were just in town for one night and wanted to be near Ruby Falls, Rock City and Lookout Mountain so this was a great location. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were on the third floor and it was very quiet - not sure if there was an elevator, though. Probably not the best choice in location if you are planning to spend most of your time downtown.

Enjoyed our stay in one of the BW Royal Inn handicapped/accessible rooms. Comfortable beds, the usual communal breakfast, quite acceptable all around. Only issue wife had was with the hair dryer...it was a strange elongated shape that she had difficulty using.

We only stayed one night but was very nice. The room was clean and smelled really nice. I'm tall so the tall shower heads were especially unexpected. The hotel was near all the planned site seeing places. The breakfast was good and the lady in charge was constantly putting new food out. Would definitely stay there again.

This is a clean and comfortable motel well situated for Look out Mountain, but it is some 6 miles away from the centre. The journey into the town is however straightforward and is best made on the ordinary roads rather than on the freeway which gets pretty congested at times. There is a restaurant just to the rear which i a lot better than it looks and it can be reached on foot.

The room was clean and comfortable and had both a fridge and a microwave. Unfortunately their pool was not open and looked like it hadn't been in a long time. The beds were super comfy. Our tv was giving us problems and the front desk sent someone right around to fix it. Also they offer the very rare option of choosing a smoking room which works well for my husband

Basic, clean, and well - priced lodging! Staff are friendly. Close proximity to several of the Lookout Mountain attractions. Parking can be difficult at times. This was our second stay at this Best Western this year. When we decided to drive down and take our granddaughter to see the sights in Chattanooga, we knew exactly where we would be staying!

My team and I had to train in Chattanooga. One stressful part about traveling with a large group is making reservations and having everyone taken care of. I booked reservations for 10 rooms and everything worked out perfectly! We all checked in quickly and were set up in the rooms we requested. It is rare for everyone in the group to be satisfied but I did not hear one complaint about our lodging. I really appreciate the time and care the people here took to make us happy. If we have any travel needs Best Western - Royal Inn is our first choice. The rooms were clean, large enough to host an impromptu meeting, and the beds were comfortable!

Very good, basic lodgings. No complaints. It was just as described and a good deal for the price. The location is amazing. Easy to get to Lookout mountain as well as downtown or to the mall. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is going to see the sights. They also have rooms for pet owners.
