A gem of a stay! That's how we would describe our recent encounter with Hotel Roma in Castelfranco Veneto. Nestled at the end of the historic center of the town, this classic " albergo" offers a seamless array of services, each one topping the other with its subtle efficiency. Courtesy is where everything begins here. Plenty of it, from the front desk , to the breakfast area on the spectacular fourth floor, where Dolly's warm welcome and attention to detail makes everyone feel so very comfortable. We stayed in one of the penthouses, with balcony overlooking the piazza and the ancient walls. What a sight! We will definitely be looking forward to be here again ! Adriano V. & Dolores B. Ontario, Canada.
Courteous, friendly, professional front desk and staff. Always ready to help and accommodate. Cleanest hotel I have visited so far !! Breafast amazing and a gltuen free section. I would not hesitate to come back or recommend !! This is the place to stay when in Castelfranco !!
I stayed at this hotel whilst on a Riviera tour of hidden Italy. The hotel has a wonderful view of the old town wall. Bedrooms are on the small side. However they are perfectly adequate. The rooms are spotlessly clean. Bedding and towels are unnecessary changed daily. It has most of the things that you expect in a four star hotel. However the rooms are all furnished differently. For instance in my room there was no chest of drawers, so I had to leave my underwear in my suitcase. Also if you like to use shower gel, then you should take your own, as they supply bars of soap. I know from visiting friends rooms that some did have chest of drawers in. Room 380 is at the back of the hotel, so didn't have a view. If you stay in this place ask to be at the front. The breakfast room does have a wonderful view over the old town. The breakfast is good, but the menu is the same every day. There is a choice of hot and cold, along with pastries. The staff do speak a little English, and are very helpful. If you stay in Castlefranco I would definitely recommend this hotel. It is a good place to explore the Veneto area from.
We've geen there with my daughter and girlfriend. The staff are very polite, room was well organized nice view to hills or castle. The city is nice and there are many cute retail stores and restaurants. The train station is close so you can get to Venice, Udine, Padova, Verone without using your car. The spa was really relaxing. Definitely will go again
We stayed there twice - on our way to Umbria and on our way back. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel‘ decor is so tasteful, free parking is a bonus and the top-floor breakfast room is awesome! We'll definitely be back !!! The hotel is perfectly situated right across from the city wall and the main piazza. Though the town of Castelfranco was a bit of a detour for us on our journey it was well worth it !
We stayed for 5 nights in beautiful October weather in this very good hotel. The rooms were small but quiet with comfortable beds, good bathrooms, quality towels and bedding and a kettle with tea bags and coffee. It's well situated with lovely views from the dining room where there's a wide breakfast selection - there were gluten free options but the continental meats, cheeses, fruit and yoghurts were a better choice. Its within easy walkable access to many restaurants in the town. The staff were extremely helpful in helping us make reservations since, not being a touristy place, we were struggling to do this on our own. It wasn't flashy but ticked all the boxes for a comfortable stay in a vey Italian setting.
We stayed here for five nights whilst visiting northern Italy with Riviera Travel. It's situated opposite the walls of the medieval castle and close to several restaurants. The hotel has recently been renovated and is an excellent place to stay. There is no restaurant for evening meals but on the top floor, with views of the city, there is a large area where breakfast is served. Here, they offer a wide choice of breads, pastries, cereals, cheeses, meats, and fruit; an incredible buffet. Ours was a bedroom looking out over the castle and market square. We had very comfortable beds, and we loved the hi-tech touch sensitive light switches! Staff were friendly and helpful.
Everything was excellent. The whole place has been recently refurbished to a very high stabdard and the cleanliness everywhere was very good. Lovely breakfast in top floor restaurant overlooking the city walls. All staff pleasant and helpful. The only snag was the lack of an evening meal facility. However the Golden Galleon (Galeon d'Oro) just across the piazza served us well for every night of our stay.
We were based at this hotel for our Riviera Travel 'Hidden Italy' holiday. Our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the city wall & market square. Very comfortable bedroom with smaller en-suite, but with everything we needed. Breakfast was served on the 4th floor: plenty of choice of hot & cold foods; personal choice of coffees brought to our table. Castelfranco Veneto is certainly worth a visit for a day or two.
This is a well-run hotel in the centre of Castelfranco opposite the city walls, so a good scenic location. It's also a short walk to everything in the town - shops, bars, banks, supermarket, restaurants, cathedral etc. Breakfast was excellent with hot and cold foods and - best of all - a good selection of gluten-free products including breads, biscuits and cereals. My room was very comfortable although there was no armchair, just an upright chair. The bed was comfortable with a good, firm mattress. Air conditioning worked well and the shower was good. The bathroom was cramped though, with barely enough room to sit on the badly-placed loo. The room had a fridge - stocked with water and soft drinks - and a room safe. The only downside of the hotel was it's bed and breakfast only with no dinner. There are not many restaurants in Castelfranco, although I would definitely recommend Antica Osteria Ai Due Mori, inside the city walls which was excellent - see my review of that.
Excellent hotel with stunning views from the breakfast room. Great value for a hotel that deserves 5 star rating. All rooms refurbished and well equipped Easy to access local buses and the train station.
I enjoyed my four (4) night stay at the newly remodeled Albergo Roma. My room fronted the city walls. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very well done and the 4th floor breakfast room provided an excellent view. Ask for a cappuccino from the bar.
We are a family of 5 who stayed at the Albergo Roma Castelfranco for 2 nights. It was well priced, centrally located and refurbished. Rooms were basic, although spacious, clean and had all the amenities needed. We had an interconnecting room which worked well as it was separate from the other rooms so the other patrons couldn't hear my crazy kids. Breakfast was bountiful and the breakfast room had a lovely view of the castle. Staff were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our stay
I too stayed at the hotel whilst on a Riviera tour. My room was on the 1st floor & faced an inner courtyard so it was very quiet. My room was immaculate with high quality white bedding & good towels. Although the bathroom was small, I had a walk in shower with an excellent shower. Initially I was rather daunted by the electronic controls for the lighting & shutters, but soon found them very easy to use.I liked the security feature of having to use your key card to activate the lift. There was a good selection for breakfast & I particularly liked the warm pastries, but thought their hot food was not at all appealing. Although there was a coffee machine, every morning I had a freshly made cappuccino which was delicious. Initially I was disappointed the restaurant hadn't reopened in the evening but was delighted with the hotel's recommendation of the Galeone D'Oro - a pizzeria literally 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Their menu was very varied & I was amazed at their selection of pizzas. The only drawback was they were closed on Mondays. Without exception, the staff at the hotel were very pleasant & helpful.
We had a very pleasant stay in Albergo Roma thanks to the excellent service from the staff. Any issue was addressed immediately and in a professional yet friendly manner. The rooms were also impeccably clean and had beautiful views of Castelfranco Veneto. Highly recommend.
We stayed here for 5 nights B/B. as part of a Riviera Travel group (25) holiday. We had pre-requested an outward facing view room on a higher floor and we were allocated Room 245 on the 2nd floor - Excellent room and views. The breakfast on the 4th floor was good. We liked the choice and quality of the continental breakfast, but did not like the cooked section. The Hotel has one of the best locations in Castelfranco Veneto and within easy walking distance of all the facilities. We stayed during a very hot period, but we found the aircon worked very well during the night and although it is switched off from 10am to 2pm this did not bother us, as we opened the full length door/picture window.
Nice hotel located at strategical location with beautiful view of city wall. We are family of 3 who stayed for 2 nights in Junior suite room (room 369). The room is spacious for king size bed and single bed and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast is very standard. There is free parking on the spot connected directly to the hotel. Everything was perfect until we woke up at 10 am the first morning, feeling very hot. When we asked their reception staff, we were told that central AC was switched off starting at 9 am everyday and would be switched on again only after lunch time. We were surprised with this regulation, this is not acceptable for 4 stars hotel. Not all guest left the hotel early before 9 am plus it's summer time (mid july). During check out we asked again about it to the reception staff only to be told this time that it was due to covid19 pandemic which is for us was nonsense as we had been staying in several hotels in Italy during 3 weeks road trip and never had this problem. Even if it was true, it would be fair if such information was provided on their website or even during check in time. We were sweating a lot while dressing up which is not pleasant thing to start the day.
A lovely hotel in a great location with easy parking access! well refurbished modern rooms and exceptionally clean! The breakfast and dinner area is overlooking the castle! We truly enjoyed our stay!!
Refurbished hotel in market square centre of small quiet picturesque town. Rooms large, clean and well fitted. Food excellent and hotel staff friendly and very professional. Our room had pleasing view of walled ‘old town'.
We, with family, had the two suites on the third floor. We had a balcony attached to each suite ( and asked the staff to open the door between the rooms on the balcony) - a great spot for drinks before going out for dinner. We were complety thrilled with the hotel - the Front Desk, the Housekeeping team, the breakfast, the in house guest dinner in the dining room, the free parking --- absolutley perfect in all respects. I must mention the crisp cotton bed linens and the exceptional pillows. Best of all is staying in a real (not touristy) town with real people going about their lives. Some very good restaurants in about 3 minutes walk - good shopping - wonderful market on Tuesday and Friday mornings. There is a convenience store adjacent and delicious gelato just down the street. We had six wonderful nights there - looking for an excuse to return.
This is a well run family hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay. It's right in the centre of town so well placed for shops and restaurants. The room was a good size and clean, it was also very quiet despite being on a main road. The beds were comfortable, it had a sofa along with chairs and plenty of clothes space. There are tea making facilities and a room safe. A good choice of breakfast is served on the top floor with great views over the nearby castle and square. There is also a restaurant offering evening meals. We had a sizeable bathroom albeit the bath was rather deep to climb in and out of for a shower. Free wifi but it was a bit hit and miss at times. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate in staying here again.
We stayed as part of a Riveria tour group. Hotel has been completely refurbished recently and it shows. Rooms are a good size, beds very comfortable and both linen and towels lovely fresh and white, believe me we've had some very dirty grey ones in the past! All rooms have kettle, tea, coffee etc. a nice touch for us British travellers! Rooms have a safe free of charge.Particularly liked the keypad door and lighting system. We were lucky enough to have a room with a view of the old city walls. At night it was very quiet both inside and outside the hotel. Breakfast is on the top floor with lovely views of the city walls. Very adequate breakfast with all the usual cereals, meats, cakes etc. including bacon and scrambled egg. Coffee machine is slow and very mean with portions, three goes to fill a small cup! Ask at the bar for cafe latte and you get a very nice pot of coffee with hot milk. Situated just outside the old city walls you couldn't find a better positioned hotel.
The hotel is situated overlooking the main square in Castelfranco and although there are several roads to cross to get to the square or the old town, the traffic is not heavy and it is easy to get accros the roads. The reception area is spacious with a couple of nice seating areas; the bar is also situated here, again quite spacious and with reasonable prices. My room was up on the first floor facing out over the car park at the rear of the hotel. The room was of a reasonable size for one although two people might find it a bit cramped. There was plenty of storage space with drawers and a good sized wardrobe. Inside the wardrobe was a free to use room safe. On top of the desk area, there were tea and coffee making facilities (although you may want to take your own teabags - the ones provided weren't very good) - and underneath, was a mini-bar. Also provided next to the kettle, was a useful feature - an electric socket coloured red; this socket stayed live even though the rest of the electrics went off when you removed your keycard from the socket near the door. The bed had nice bed linen and a mattress protector; I found the mattress a bit firm but the pillows were lovely and comfortable! There is a good sized flatscreen TV mounted on the wall opposite the bed with a whole host of channels to choose from. General lighting in the room was good although the bedside lighting could do with improvement as reading for more than 40 minutes or so, tended to give you a bit of eye strain! By the way, the lighting and the electically operated window shutter are all operated by touch controls on each side of the bed and by the bathroom door as you enter the room. The air con. control is also here and is very accurate, efficient, and quiet! The bathroom is good with nice towels and toiletries; the lighting is excellent although there is a normal switch just inside the door - be sure your hands are dry before you touch it! The only problem I had with the toilet is that it is set close to the shelf where the washbasin is, meaning that you had to sort of slide sideways to sit on it; people with mobility problems might have a bit of difficulty with this! The hot water can be a bit variable and sometimes runs out in the late evening. The bathroom and room were spotlessy clean throughout. The restaurant is situated on the fourth floor and is also used as the breakfast room and has superb views over the walls of the old city and the main square. The breakfast is very good with all the usual hot and cold items on offer and a toaster that actually toasts! The only comment I would make on the hot offerings was that on some days, the scrambled egg was in one big lump and was very rubbery! I had dinner once in the restaurant choosing from the daily menu priced at €22 and it was quite good with several choices for eash course. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I would certainly have no hesitation in staying here again.
This was my second stay at this property. The staff is professional and very attentive to guest's needs and requests. The rooms are good size for Europe and very clean. The breakfast buffet has ample selection of items and food is good. The hotel is located a 15 minute walk to train station with ample trains to Venice, Padua and Vicenza.
Bang in the middle of town, this quiet new hotel has friendly efficient staff, speedy lifts, comfortable beds, good air conditioning and equipment which all works. The fourth floor restaurant provides residents with a good dinner for €22.00. We would happily return here.
This hotel is situated right next to the walls of the old city. Our room, 366, had an uninterrupted view of the walls, towers and moat. The road outside seemed quiet and although there were several events in the town during our stay, we were not troubled by any noise. Everything in the hotel seemed to be new, stylish, good quality and spotlessly clean. Our room was good sized with a large, comfortable bed and a separate single bed/couch. It contained a kettle with coffee, teas etc which were replenished daily. The bathroom was excellent with a spacious shower cubicle. Very nice toiletries were provided each day. The towels were very good. Wifi was free and worked well. A safe was included without charge. Breakfast provided everything that you could want and was served in the fourth floor restaurant which looked out over the old town. We ate dinner only once at the hotel and enjoyed the experience. The staff were friendly and efficient. Drinks at the bar were well priced. We would both thoroughly recommend the Albergo Roma.
This place is amazing. The hotel is perfectly located and the rooms are great. We had a balcony room on the third floor and the view was stunning. The piazza was right outside or hotel and many a late night coffee, spritz or gelati wad had. The market was an great and this was a fantastic place to base ourselves while traveling around the Venice region.
I have stayed at this hotel about 15 times as well as the others in the area. This is by far the best of the hotels in castle Franco. It was renovated a few years ago. The rooms have a modern vibe and nice amenities. They are decent in size compare to others in Italy. They have a fitness center with some treadmills, a bike and a bench with some free weights. It is enough to get a good sweat going. They include a free breakfast which offers many options. If your going to castle Franco this is a great option.
Let's face it chain hotels don't have the best of reputations and so I had low expectations when I discovered I'd be staying in a Best Western hotel. But it is so nice to be proven wrong. As soon as you enter the Albergo Roma you notice the decor that has a local theme. The staff were welcoming and the air conditioning very welcome. The room was as expected if you've ever stayed in a Best Western or similar you'll know what I mean. However, it was quiet and clean so no complaints. The highlight of my short stay was breakfast. Unusually, the dining area is on the top floor and this provides a great view out across Castelfranco Veneto. This is much more enjoyable than the average breakfast buffet. But once again I expected nothing more as this is a Best Western - you get what you pay for.
We enjoyed our stay in this very good hotel, completely refurbished. The restaurant on the top floor with views over the town is a great feature both for breakfast and an evening meal. The breakfast and the special fixed price menu available for hotel guests were excellent. As Brits we valued the tea tray in the room.
Like a few other reviewers we were staying here on a Riviera holiday, new to the region. Castelfranco proved to be a pretty little town, unspoilt, with plenty of restaurants, and a large market on two days a week near the hotel which has been updated to a very good standard since a fire. Comfortable beds, clean, modern fittings. Breakfast excellent, view from dining area lovely first thing on a morning. We found the dinner 20 euros set menu a total disappointment after being assured that the evening before had been very acceptable. Sadly on the 16th of June something must have happened in the kitchens because it was anything but. Service was so slow, some of the food was inedible and cold but on complaining we were not offered any recompense. We were later informed that was because we had only chosen the set menu. Strangely those who had chosen from the a la carte menu were refunded in full ! We did not eat there again - there are plenty of other places and cheaper!
We stayed here on our Rivera Travel holiday. Couldn't fault it. It is in a good position in the town with a number of restaurants and bars within a short walking distance. Very clean everywhere. And also a really good variety of food for breakfast. The cherries were delicious. We would certainly recommend the Alberto Roma and hope to go back to continue exploring this wonderful region of Italy.
Stayed here on a Rivera Travel holiday. Rooms are excellent, bed was comfy, lots of channels on TV and a tea tray for the Brits. Tourist menu 20€ was very good, small glass of Prosecco when seated, amuse Boucher and then 3 small courses. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only found the spa on the last morning, take your swimming costume for sauna etc
The Veneto area of Italy really is a well kept secret. Castelfranco is a beautiful quite town within it. Lots of beautiful old buildings line the main streets, and the Albergo Roma looks out over these and onto the old town walls. The hotel has recently been refurbished to a high standard and is very comfortable. We stayed here for our tour with Riviera travel. Our room was a very good size with excellent air conditioning, bathroom etc. The restaurant is on the 4th floor and big windows give a view over the town. The breakfast is really nice with cereals, cold meats / cheese, lots of fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon and cakes and pastries. It is one of the best I have found anywhere. We ate at the restaurant in the evening only once. (They offer a three course meal for 20 euros for hotel guests.) It was really nice and the service was excellent. On top of all this, the staff were really helpful and did their best to accomodate any special requests. Many thanks to them for a wonderful stay.
The hotel seems to have been renovated relatively recently to a very high standard. While not a luxury hotel, the finish is excellent: attractive marble & wood trim, good quality furniture, impressive fire doors etc. Our room was small but more than adequate for a short stay. There are bigger ones. Breakfasts were very appetising in the 4th floor restaurant with striking views of the city walls. We only had dinner there on our first night & that was NOT good. We didn't try again.
We stayed as part of a Riviera tour. Lovely hotel. Large modern rooms and lovely bathrooms. Excellent breakfast and good food in the restaurant in the evenings with views over Castelfranco. Staff were very acommodating and very pleasant. No complaints at all. Enjoyed our stay and the area very much.
We asked for a quiet room and were given one on the 3rd floor facing back. It was spacious and all we asked for. We arrived late after 10pm due to the \\french Air traffic on strike but the hotel kept the restaurant open. The staff were attentive ,the room and bathroom clean. We asked for a non slip mat for the bath and this was bought specially for us. The breakfast was very good with hot and cold food. The coffee was excellent
Our stay at the Albergo Roma was part of Riviera Travel's holiday package "Hidden Italy", but we couldn't have chosen a better hotel for ourselves. The staff were so kind and helpful, even when my Italian proved more basic than usual. Our dinners in the Terrazzo Restaurant were delicious, with every evening's menu full of new delights. Our mornings began with selections from a varied buffet that offered fruit, meats and cheeses as well as pastries and biscuits of several kinds. One of the best things about the hotel was its location, opposite the 12th century city wall. We could see one of the red brick towers from our bedroom window. A 20 minute walk around the walls enabled us to see the inner town of shops, cafes and piazzas, and to visit the cathedral which contains a famous altarpiece painted by the artist Giorgione. Castelfranco contains many treasures, and the Albergo Roma is certainly one of them!
Spent five nights here as part of Riviera's 'Hidden Italy' tour. This is one of the best hotels we have encountered on a tour; perfectly situated, well run, modern, and immaculate. Our second floor room, which had a lovely view, was very comfortable and of a generous size and the bathroom had both bath and shower. An additional and welcome bonus is the provision of tea and coffee facilities in the room. We found the staff to be approachable, communicative and helpful. The attractive dining room, situated on the fourth floor, offers a lovely view across the market place and the city walls. The buffet breakfast is more than adequate and offers a comprehensive selection of food and the special three course evening meal, priced at 20 euros per head, in addition to the a la carte menu, is good value.
We stayed 2 nights in Albergo Roma and I must say that this hotel was the best of the 4 we stayed in during our trip to Venezia and Castelfranco Veneto. The hotel is very modern, service is top-notch and the breakfast room is light and the breakfast itself is very good. The amenities were very nice, and the receptionists went the extra-mile to get us information we requested in order to visit Castelfranco Veneto. We will definitively stay here again if we go back to CV. I warmly recommend this hotel to anybody traveling in this region!
This former Best Western is now an absolutely brilliant family-run hotel, offering guests not just a top-notch location right in the heart of town in front of the main square and old city walls of Castelfranco Veneto, but also exceptional value for money, staff service and attention, and a fantastic roof-top fine-dining restaurant to boot!... If you are looking for somewhere to stay when exploring Venice and the Veneto, you would be well advised to stay here. The hotel's location is ideal, with most places of interest (eg Venice, Asolo, Verona, Vicenza, the Brenta canal and Palladian Villas) not more than 1 hour away in any direction. Rooms are comfortable and well-furnished, with all the usual trappings, plus an in-room mini-bar and (most unusual for Italy) tea & coffee making facilities in each room, topped up daily. Breakfast and dinner is served on the 4th floor restaurant from where there are spectacular views of the castle walls and main square outside. There is also a spa and a small gym located in the basement of the hotel. This is one hotel where guests really do come first and nothing is too much trouble for the attentive staff. There is nothing to fault and the owner is to be congratulated for such an excellent and well-run business. Highly recommended!...
A large and recently refurbished hotel near the centre of this lovely small city, which is a good base for exploring the Veneto. It is also ideal for a pleasant walk in the evening. The rooms are well appointed. The breakfast, which is served in the fourth floor restaurant overlooking the large and picturesque city walls, was one of the best we have had in Italy. The in-house restaurant was excellent (separate review).
The room was clean (the only drawback was the lingering smell of detergent in the bathroom) The breakfast buffet on the top floor was more than acceptable for a restaurant of this standing. The service was attentive as the staff regularly would come.to me.to see.if I needs anything.
Visited this hotel recently and could not have been more satisfied. This family run business is first rate and not expensive. The whole staff are friendly and can't do enough for you, and that includes the owner himself. The 4th floor restaurant is superb and the meals are brilliant from the breakfast spread of anything you can think of to the wonderful evening meals either the 3 course set or the a la carte. This place made our holiday 5star. There is parking available too.
This hotel commands an excellent location just outside the city walls, with everything within easy walking distance. Even the bus station is conveniently situated behind the hotel should you want to take a bus to any of the attractive towns nearby. The staff are friendly, helpful and generally speak English, The rooms are well appointed, with modern touch buttons for lighting. They also have (free) a room safe, tea/coffee making facilities (uncommon in Italy) and wi-fi, as well as individual room air conditioning/heating control. Some rooms have walk-in showers while others have the shower over a bath, and this caused our only problem. We had specifically booked a room with a walk-in shower as my wife has mobility issues. This had been confirmed. However, on arrival we found that the room we were given, while spacious and comfortable, had a shower over a bath. We did eventually manage to effect a change, but not without some difficulty and rearrangement of later bookings by the management. Therefore if you have a preference, particularly if it's a necessity due to mobility issues, then ensure this is made clear at the time of booking, and even if confirmed check on arrival that the room corresponds with your booking. Apart from that hiccup we thought it an excellent hotel. The breakfast buffet offers plenty of options, although the hot selection is fairly limited (scrambled egg, bacon and small sausage pieces every day), with a tub of hot water with some fresh eggs so you can make yourself a boiled egg. Although a welcome feature, the problem was that although the water was steaming there were no bubbles to indicate a boiling temperature - and without knowing the temperature of the water it's difficult to know how long to give the egg! It would be better if it were at simmering point to know where you stand, but after several trial and error attempts we found that it needed between 8-10 minutes for a hard white but soft yolk (but I wouldn't guarantee this every time!). Apart from that there was fresh fruit, pastries, cheese and ham, cereals and other bits and pieces. Coffee is from a machine, but there is only one coffee machine (dispensing one cup at a time) so there can be a queue at busy periods (although the staff will make a cappuccino or maybe an espresso behind the bar on request). The dining room also acts as a public restaurant most days for lunch and dinner, and although we did not eat there we did hear good reports. They offer a very reasonable 3 course set dinner for 20 euro. The four bubble rating rather than the full five is to reflect the problem in our room booking, as had we not been able to change it would have been a disaster. However, apart from that we thought it an excellent hotel and would have no hesitation in returning.
Very good, clean, modern hotel just outside the walls of the old city of Castelfranco Veneto. Great views of the walls and main square if you can get a room at the front as I was lucky enough to do. Friendly helpful and English speaking staff but what really raises this hotel to the excellent status is the fourth floor restaurant. Good, fresh albeit fairly standard continental buffet breakfast with the added plus of the view over the old walls. Superb evening meals (a 3 course set menu for 20 euros or a la carte). Let down a bit by the absence of half bottles or carafes of wine for the solo diner - to have wine by the glass is always more expensive. But the hotel is heartily recommended - and Castelfranco Veneto itself is well situated for visits generally around the Veneto
I had a last minute booking on the day of. My client helped me booked this hotel for a one night stay at Castelfranco. The hotel is directly across from the castle and the room I had 425 had a direct view on the castle. The price was reasonable 98 Euro for a night includes breakfast which is on the top floor with a panoramic view of the castle.
The staff at the Hotel Roma are extremely helpful, very friendly, and have made my business trip a pleasure. The roof-top restaurant commands splendid views of Castelfranco Veneto, and the food is equally fantastic. All in all, I would warmly recommend this establishment!g
I have stayed here often and you wont find a more pleasant staff or cleaner establishment anywhere. I travel allot of business and this is at the top of my list. I have stayed at other Hotels in the area but only when the Roma is full. The restaurant is very good and the food excellent. My go to place.
We chose this Albergo because of its proximity to relatives in the area. We arrived off a flight from Canada and needed to check in early to have lunch with relatives. The front desk made some calls and we had a room in minutes. The atmosphere of this hotel is one of the best I have encountered in a long time. The staff are friendly, easy going, and yet attentive. It felt like home. The Albergo is located beside a piazza that has a Friday morning market that is worth visiting. It is also right across from the castle and close to the cathedral where you can see the Castelfranco Madonna by Giorgione. Having a parking spot on site is a real plus as well.
Great rooms . Beds very comfortable. Quality linens and towels. Clean. Nice continental breakfast rooftop restaurant. Eggs , toast , meats, cheese, fruits yoghurt cereal and cakes! Best macchiato ! Also had a great dinner in the hotel at Terrazza Roma . Beautiful view of Castelfranco at night. You can see the castle all lit up. Had the risotto tasting menu. Outstanding. Three different risottos with app , prosecco, coffee and biscotti. All for 20 Euros !
I have used this hotel for a number of years whilst staying in Castelfranco in Italy . The staff are always helpful and the rooms are very clean and tidy . They have a great breakfast buffet bar down stairs with a good selection of food. The hotel is right in the middle of the town and is great for access to various restaurants and bars located nearby . I will certainly use this hotel again thank you .
We had a great stay after our flight had been cancelled and the airport put us up here. We arrived at 3am and the staff were very helpful. Rooms were lovely and spacious. The next morning, breakfast was amazing. The highlight by far was how helpful the staff were. Despite us being stranded and trying to contact our airline and not getting very far - the hotel staff were amazing. We'd like to do a special mention for Elizabeth and Marco (receptionist staff) especially who were amazing and very eye helpful!
We booked in here only a few days before arrival after a change of plans, and were delighted with our decision. Castelfranco is an interesting place in itself, and a good centre for short rail trips out. The hotel gave us a lovely room on the second floor overlooking the old walls : quiet, comfortable, well air conditioned. Breakfast was good too.
We spent 4 days at Albergo Roma in Castlefranco in April, and loved it! Hotel was recently renovated, and rooms are well-appointed and very clean. Staff is delightful, especially Sergio, the owner, his family, and the restaurant staff. Hotel is contemporary, attractive, and comfortable. Staff bent over backwards to be helpful and friendly. Food was delicious, especially dinner. Excellent wine list, with a very attentive and special presentation! Gorgeous view of the castle compliment the outstanding food. Worth spending time in this gem of a hotel in the heart of Castlefranco!
Enjoyed staying at this hotel sited at the edge of the main piazza with an outlook to the old castle walls. Lovely renovated and spacious room, nice staff and close to everything g you need and want to see. Good value. Most enjoyable stay. Highly Recommended.
Can't beat the location and the friendly staff. They were all efficient and helpful. Recently rebuilt after a fire, nice accommodations. The top floor restaurant is very good and has great view of walled city.
I stayed for two nights while on business and I have to say it's one of the better best westerns I have stayed in. The rooms were well appointed and had everything you could ever need. Breakfast is typically Italian and the location is fab. I would recommend it no questions asked!!!
Excellent hotel, my husband and I stayed for 26 days and we felt like we home away from home. The staff was very friendly and helpful with what ever we needed. We enjoyed breakfast every morning in the new reasturant. This was our second extended stay with them and will be going back again.
This is a wonderful renovated hotel just steps from the classic town of Castelfranco Veneto. The staff were courteous and helpful. They obliged us with every request and the service was prompt. The hotel gas s great spa area and the robes, slippers and towels were provided to be able to go to and from the room. Be sure to bring a swimsuit or spa clothes. The breakfast had a great selection and the breakfast room has an incredible panorama of the classic town. You could stay a night or use this as a base for other short day trips. Great spot a surprising find in a sweet town.
Room big and clean you can even have a smoking room if you wish. Staff friendly and attentive. A lots of shops and restaurants very close by in the walking distance. Breakfast was one of the biggest selection we saw. And delicious.
This is a well maintained hotel and i stayed here on 3 nights during my business trip. The rooms are very clean and there are many places nearby to walk around and watch like the old buildings, church etc.The view of walls from the hotel makes your stay pleasant.
I visit Castle Franco about 4-6 times per year with clients. This hotel is perfect. It is located with a great view of the walls of the city. There are numerous restaurants and bars with outdoor seating all in walking distance. If you like to shop there is no shortage of stores. There is also many great gelato shops, and this fantastic place called peters ice Cream. They serve this soft serve ice cream that was unique and fantastic. The hotel also offers a free breakfast daily with selections of fresh fruit, meats, cheese, pastries, juices, coffee and they will even make eggs to order for you. Great place for a few nights!
Stayed for 3 nights on business, hotel is spotlessly clean, room much larger than expected, views overlooking castle wall was a fantastic bonus, ordered room service for breakfast which arrived very prompt with good selection. Staff were very polite and helpful assisting with travel/ train plans all in easy access etc. After working hours within walking distance are the shops, bars and restaurants. I was very impressed with this hotel and on my next trip will definately be staying again.......... it's perfect.
A one night stay on business in November. my room looked out to the front, with a view of the old walls. Room size was good, bigger than I was expecting. A bath as well - great. A hard bed, but I slept well. Breakfast on the lowest floor, good selection, good value.
Used the hotel as a base for visiting areas in the region by public transport. Very convenient for bus station ( round the back of the hotel ) , and the train station is about 10 minutes walk away. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is typical, ie fruit juice ( a bit too diluted for our taste ! ) cereal, fruit, toast, bread etc. The room we were allocated, very spacious ( think it was a family room ) with a balcony. Not that there is much to see, as it did not overlook the castle area. Nevertheless, very pleased we had it. Would have no hesitation in recommending and returning, should we be in the area. Very enjoyable stay.
