Comfortable bed but the AC doesn't work the rooms are muggy no fresh air I looked in the fan filter and it was caked with dirt and dust my nose is plugged from breathing in the air here! Disgusted disappointed and wish not to return. Someone needs to clean the air filters in the fans I have them cranked and no air is coming out but the fan is blaring loud.
Very Convenient location close to 401 Very quite except in the morning there were lots of slamming loud doors. Friendly staff very knowledgeable about the surrounding area Excellent breakfast with lots of choices to satisfy all family members Great pool and fitness facility Very clean and very nice
Our experience wasn't the greatest for a newly renovated hotel. We travel almost monthly and stay in lots of hotels and our room was terrible. We had a bleachy smell and the windows were wet not just damp from condensation but soaking the floor. The floor looked like it was moldy. The mirror in the bathroom had "Help" written on the window. We travel quite a bit and stay in Hotels monthly, sometimes for over a week at a time. This was not a great experience.
The receptionist was quite abrupt. We arrived at 2.45pm and got our paperwork out and was told to put the paperwork away as our room was not ready and to take a seat. No welcome to the Best Western Plus Cambridge Hotel. We didnt feel very welcome at all. Stayed here before but would not stay again. Needs some renovation, bedrooms are really dark
The Hotel was very clean but the bed was super uncomfortable. I Was surprised as my husband and I always choose Best Western for their comfort and cleanliness. Everything else was ok but a good nights sleep is also very important. We didn't use the amenities or have breakfast.
This hotel is in dire need of a renovation. It's old and tired! Not worth it at all. Stay elsewhere!!!!! It is so bad that I have been staying in another hotel while I'm in the area on business. It doesn't warrant my money and it will not get any more until the owner or chain spend significant amounts of $$$$$ to bring it up to speed.
The hotel was average. Needs some work as it is dated. Vents in rooms need to be cleaned. When air fans on rooms smell musty. Pool area was nice. Breakfast area/lobby area were great. Food was good and monitored. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend hotel for families. Hockey teams. Group rates could have been better as it was cheaper to book individually.
The first night we checked in, our room was horrid. (Room 412) Rips in the drapes, mold and water damage on the walls, peeling wallpaper, a toilet that would not flush, stained, moldy and rusty bath/shower, EXTREMELY over powering smell of room deodorizer to the point I could not sleep, had to use my asthma medication every two hours and keep the window open which the screen has been ripped out of. The bed was rock had and had springs poking us. The over all cleanliness of the room was not good. I was afraid to let our toddler play on the floor. When I asked to change rooms that evening I was told the hotel was booked solid and would have to ask about changing in the morning. (I know this was not true because I could have booked another room online for that same night.) The next morning was a totally different story. The staff was so lovely, friendly. I went to the front desk to ask about a room change, the front desk agent went and asked a housekeeper, talked to their manager who came out right away and moved us. The “upgraded” suit was I'm sure at one time beautiful but again it was rundown. It did not smell. All the furniture was warn and scratched l. The next day, I was packing up to leave, noticed the fitted sheet was off the corner of the bed, when I went to fix it I saw the state of the mattress, it looked to be picked up off the road side!!! It was so so so so badly stained I could not believe we had slept on it the night before! I have no clue how this hotel is able to keep its Bestwestern Plus title! It's completely deceiving thinking you are getting one kind of stay then finding you are staying in something else completely! We work so hard and just wanted a relaxing ay, instead we got a horror hotel.
Although the room with two queens was a bit tight, there were two armchairs, and the room was well maintained! Staff was relaxed and knowledgable - and our request for a ground floor room was managed. The hotel is centrally located and easy to find and get in to. Breakfast was delicious.
A very clean hotel with friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. Conveniently located and a good value. We loved the pool and hot tub. The bathroom in the room was ready for an update. The value was good especially with free breakfast. Lots of free parking.
Like coming home. Welcoming lobby, staff were friendly and helpful and check-in was fast and easy. The room was on the second floor and clean, bright and air conditioned. The soaps and shampoos had a lovely scent. The shower pressure was perfect and the safety bar a bonus. The towels were soft and absorbent. The beds were comfortable and the pillows just the right firmness. After my long drive I laid down on the bed and had a great nap. The 24 hour coffee and the cold water dispenser in the lobby were excellent and when our take-out food didn't come with the utensils we had requested, the staff provided some for us. A great night's sleep. Efficient check-out.
I was expecting a basic, but functional room. I received neither. The 1st room I was offered, on the first floor, had soggy carpets with a foul odour. It immediately triggered an asthma attack in my family member. The 2nd room offered, on the third floor was no better as it also smelled badly of mold. Staff apologized saying there was “a lot of rain” recently. That's unacceptable. You cannot rent rooms with significant, unresolved water damage. The 3rd room, I accepted only because I was told there was nothing left. My family of 4 was forced to sleep in a single king sized bed because there were no other rooms or rolling cots available as the hotel was completely booked. We got the cot on the 2nd night only because we asked multiple times. It did not come with a pillow and there were no spares in the closet. The A/C unit smelled of mold every time it came on. The whole room continued to have a dampness about it during the entire 3 night stay. The toilet ran constantly and twice we had to take the lid off (exposing us to more mold) to press the flapper down so the tank would fill and the toilet could be flushed. There was no hot water in the shower. 3 nights without any housekeeping service is unacceptable. We ran out of everything. We had to ask for everything including towels and toilet paper. Every request was met with “they don't pay for housekeeping staff on weekends.” If you don't want to pay to properly staff your hotel on weekends, then you shouldn't offer rooms for rent on weekends. The bathrooms in the pool area had an overwhelming sewer odour making it impossible to use them. By Sunday there were only a couple of towels left, and the dirty towels were overflowing. The coffee machine was constantly jamming or didn't fill the cup. Breakfast items were exactly the same on Saturday and Sunday. We did notice the BW branded waffle iron came out on Monday. I guess that too is the difference between weekend and weekday guests. Everything about this hotel screams “neglect”. When we checked out, I was told that I'd be refunded a portion of our stay. I'm still waiting for that to hit my credit card. I was asked to give them another chance in the fall as the hotel will be renovated in September. A full reno sounds like a good idea but if you don't maintain it and properly staff it, some redecorating isn't helpful. Overall, the staff (what little there were) tried very hard to make it work. But they simply haven't been given the resources to provide excellent customer service. All of this has made me rethink using Best Western hotels in the future.
My husband and I spent two nights here this past weekend. The check in was fast and easy. The hotel is very clean, the staff are friendly. The rooms could use a bit of an update but really the cleanliness is more important than the decor. We did most enjoy the hotel pool and hot tub! Very clean and with towels supplied so you don't have to bring them from your room. If we are ever in the area again we would return. Thanks for a great stay.
We had a good stay, main lobby was very clean and fresh. Front desk staff was very nice and check in/check out was quick and easy! The continental breakfast was yummy and the coffee bar was a nice touch. We didn't use the pool but it also looking very nice and clean. The elevators were a bit scary and need some updating, As do the rooms. We were on the 5th floor and it smelt like cigarette very very bad!! Our room was clean and the bed was comfy but definitely in need of updating. With a little facelift this property would be perfect!
I'm disabled and the staff were very accommodating. They even helped me get my breakfast and prepare a table for me. Rooms were clean. Great location. Close to hwy
Best stay at Best Western, comfort cleanness and good breakfast. I would stay in the establishment in the future.
Best Western Plus Cambridge Hotel, Cambridge, ONTARIO Stay June 30-July 1, 2024 Room 411 Issues include Peeling wallpaper in multiple spots Dirty gross moldy caulking in the bathtub Marks on multiple doors Stain on toilets Spots on wall Elevator buttons replaced with random buttons Photos attached of the disgusting and decrepit state of the room. Rooms are run down and dirty. Feels like you need to shower when you get home because they are so icky. I would NEVER stay in this hotel again with the condition the room was in. This experience would make be rethink booking at ANY Best Western ever again
My travel companion and I booked two rooms at Best Western plus, Cambridge hotel for 2 nights – June 29 to July 1st, 2024. The check in was not very inviting. Staff are not trained in customer service whatsoever. Sour, long faces greet you at the front desk. No welcome; no enjoy your stay; no call us if you need anything. We were in for a nasty surprise on entering the rooms. One room was more run down and neglected than the other. The first room had a nasty mouldy stench. The AC never cooled the room. It sound like a freight train is in the room. The thermostats are from the stone age. It does not shut off when the room reaches the desired coolness. If you can't fall asleep with the freight train noise from the AC you have to shut it off and sweat out the night: most uncomfortable to say the least. The toilet never flushed properly and keeps flushing when the lever is pushed once. All residue was not flushed away. The second room had the same issue with the AC. However, it cooled the room somewhat. But to sleep I had to shut the AC off and make do without any AC throughout the night. The mouldy stench to a lesser degree, however, still noticeable and unpleasant. The AC unit seem to be built in the closet which is really a bad idea as it leaked water from the unit. The lighting in washroom was 2 small pot light placed in the centre of the ceiling. None placed over the mirror nor in the tub area. It was impossible to get a clean shave with practically no light over the mirror. One of the 2 lights was burned out. I reported it to the front desk. She assured me it will get looked at the next day. That was a lie; no one showed up to fix it before I checked out. There was no housekeeping in the rooms during our stay. Breakfast was okay. Nothing to rave about. I hate that they use disposable plastic cutlery and cardboard plates and cups. Not caring for the environment with the tons of plastics and bleached cardboard dumped each day in landfills. The room décor is dated and from another era. It's surprising Best Western allow them to use their branding on this run-down, falling apart monstrosity. The carpeting in both rooms was dirty, stained and has never seem a steam cleaning since it was put into the rooms. The hallways reeked of stale musty air. The elevators are slow not level to fllor and may stop before reaching a floor. I've red other review where persons got trapped in the elevators. I don't recommend you spend your hard earned dollars to stay in this dump. The uncaring and rude staff alone is enough. When added to the misery of smelly, dilapidated state of this property it's best to stay away! Spend your money elsewhere where you will have comfort and peace of mind and enjoyment.
Bathroom was almost clogged, paint chips and rust on the bathtub, extreme loud air conditioner, unpleasant odor in the room, no power outlet near by the desk, no housekeeping service for entire 3 nights stay
This hotel is at vert excellent location in Cambridge with walking distance from Wamart and food outlets.
Staff are amazing friendly and accommodating to have breakfast setup and available earlier than expected. Hotel is very clean with a nice pool that I didn't have time to enjoy
I could sleep all day in the comfortable bed. The temperature of the pool was perfect. Breakfast was hot, fresh and tasty. Oh and the latte machine was an added plus.
Clean, comfortable, quiet, well equipped room, updated not long ago. Amiable, courteous & helpful staff.
Definitely will stay at this location again. I travel annually to Cambridge for a memorial. I always stay at this hotel. Its has been 4 years now,.
Staff always helpful and cheerful, greeting me by name every time I stay there. Rooms are clean and Kuerig coffee makers and supplies in all rooms. A multi hot beverage machine is accessible in the lobby 24/7 featuring hot chocolate and multiple coffee choices including cappuccino and lattes. A machine dispensing hot, cold and ambient water is also accessible in the lobby. Great selection of hot and cold breakfast items in the morning buffet including a variety of juice selections.
I have previously stayed here in a suite and loved it with no cons! This time I went with a normal two bed room and still enjoyed it. The rooms were a little more dated but would stay here once again. Some rust was visible on the towel holder and places in the room which I think could have been removed/ replaced. Without going into detail and to detour others I did see a few insects in the room. I am certain this will be resolved as the hotel manager is great. I don't see a further issue for others staying. This may have came from someone else's luggage and no fault of the hotel.
Our group stayed for one night. The kids enjoyed the pool in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Our room was on the first floor, which was not ideal. There was a group gathered in the lobby until late in the evening and the noise travelled to the end of the hallway which made getting to sleep a little difficult. On cleaning up, we found a used, bloody bandaid stuck to our blanket that did not belong to our group. The staff seemed unconcerned when this was brought up. Our friends who stayed on the upper floors had a much better experience, noise-wise and cleanliness-wise, so I guess this place is a bit of a crap shoot.
I don't understand how this is a Best Western Plus. Yes it's a two star hotel but it really needs to be updated. We almost got stuck in the elevators several times and the toilets take forever to flush. We paid over $250 for a one night stay on a Saturday night. Don't waste your money and stay in Stratford or Woodstock they are much nicer and it's cheaper.
we were staying at the Cambridge Best Western for a wedding. the housekeeper checked us in and gave us the wrong details of timing for the facilities. the room was dark and very hot. it was dated and dirty, with hair in the tub and grout missing and dirty. we talked to the male attendant and he did not look up from his phone to have a conversation. the breakfast was nice, food was good, no complaints there and the special coffee machine they had was a great touch. but the room was something you would never want to stay in again. i have stayed at a bunch of Best Western's this year and did not have this issue.
We had a great stay at the best western but what made it a great one was the effort Hermon made for us at our check in. He got us an early check in, my wife and I had a wedding at 3 pm and it was so nice being able clean up and get dressed. The best part was Hermon's beautiful smile and his pleasant way.j
The staff at this BW make you feel at home they Know me by name and always have a smile and greet you as if you are home. Joann and Diane are so pleasant and welcoming even if we don't agree on the same football Team.
Lobby is nice, breakfast was decent, staff was very polite……the cons…. -Furniture worn and stained -hot tub was shooting out brownish coloured foam -my coworkers toilet won't flush -my toilet took 3-5 flushes before toilet paper would go down -showers only half worked (half the water would come out of tub spout half out the shower) -2nd night we had to help someone trapped in elevator -3rd night my coworker and I got trapped in elevator -fridges barely cold enough to keep food cold Maintenance did try to fix all the issues with no luck and reception desk apologized and told me the place is falling apart. 3 of us were staying for business for 3 nights and were not impressed
The room was spacious and clean. Check in was one of the fastest I've ever had. Breakfast is included and was delicious. The pool area was clean and the pool itself is a great size. Staff were very informative and pleasant.
Amazing customer service. The front desk clerk was very friendly and accommodating. Rapport was built immediately. We ordered pizza outside the hotel and they did not provide plates or napkins so we called down to the front desk and they provided both to us and others in the hotel who had the same situation. Room was clean and suited our needs. I found the bed somewhat hard for my liking, but my husband slept very well and thought it was great! The breakfast was very good. Good options for hot or cold breakfast. We also used the pool and hot tub and found the pool area to be clean and we had lots of fun! We would recommend this hotel to others.
Despite being close to highways the room was quiet. We were on the top floor and there was no noise of people coming of the elevator. The elevator was fast. The breakfast was in a beautiful lobby room and was perfect. Would surely go again.
Although the hotel was situated amongst many conveniences, it definitely was not worth the money for me. Very firm beds, hard pillows,no luxury here. Basically, the rooms need an update. The hot tub was the temp of a warm tub, and we were told when we got to the hotel that the bubble did not work in the hot tub. The single stall bathroom in the pool area smelled like mould and there was no locker room or be area beside that to change.
Clean hotel with friendly staff. Hot breakfast buffet with variety of options. Breakfast to go boxes available to those in a hurry to leave. Hot coffee always available in the lobby. Conveniently located near highway and shopping.
Great experience! We were with a group. The rooms were clean, rates were reasonable, the staff were friendly, breakfast was great and they were so accommodating. All around one of the best experiences we've had at a hotel with a group. I would highly recommend this hotel!
Quick pit stop - wonderful staff & clean environment. Pool was great & quiet - even witha couple of hockey team there. The food area could be arranged a little differently to accomodiate Singles/couples.
I cannot say enough about the great staff. From Diana (who works in the evenings) to Kyle (who works overnight) to the woman who was cleaning the eating area (she had no nametag so I don't know her name) - all excellent. Really. Next level service. The hotel was excellent! The room had a microwave and a Keurig (with free coffee pods) and really nice soaps/shampoo/conditioner/lotion. The pool was lovely - great temperature and there was even a fireplace and TV in the pool area. This is a very clean, comfortable hotel (I found the room very quiet) that has an excellent staff. I have been in "fancier" hotels but this one was more than fine - very enjoyable stay.
Front desk service was excellent at check-in. At checkout, the system was down, so no final papers/receipts for the stay. Front desk was apologetic. The hotel had an 80s feel to it, looking and feeling 'worn". Granddaughters noticed peeling wallpaper in various areas. As well, the tub tap ran constantly. The pool was great. The hot tub was good our first time, but later, when jets not running, there was a layer of flakes skin floating on it. Needless to say, it became an off-limits area for the girl's. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choices and the staff kept everything well stocked. Overall, we had a good stay, finding the hotel ok for a one night stay.
This hotel was a nice clean place to stay while in town for a family members wedding. All staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful! Check in was speedy and check out was the same! Great property!
At check in I was advised that I would have to give 24 hours notice to have the room cleaned/refreshed. Also if I wanted the trash removed I was informed leave it in the hallway and it will be removed. if I required clean towels I was told to leave the dirty ones in the hallway and new ones will replaced ( wrapped in plastic) Each morning as I left me room I walked to the elevator passing pizza boxes containers of eaten pasta and towels along the edge of hallway. Can this even pass a health code. won't this attract ants, cow roaches, mice etc? Ive been a BW western member for years and I'm speechless about this.
We recently stayed at this hotel and had an amazing experience. Best hotel food ever, the hot tub was awesome and the pool a fair size. The staff was awesome. The front desk lady was super friendly and we had a good chat with the general manager who was clearly trying to get things done but made time to have a nice chat with us and did not try to rush it. This was by far the best hotel we've stayed at.
Our family booked 4 rooms for a 2 night stay. We were extremely pleased by the service provided by BW staff. We needed to make some last minute changes in one of the reservations, and they worked hard to make it happen in a way that met every one of our needs. And they did it all with a smile! The family enjoyed the pool, and the hot/cold buffet breakfast that was provided. We will be back!
Hotel staff where great, but I would not recommend this hotel due to the rooms. Room was dated which is fine, but had peeling wall paper, rusty carpet tacks poking through and uncomfortably humid, no matter how the AC was set. It smelled pretty musty which is likely due to the high humidity. The room was not a nice place to be. Bedding was clean and fridge / microwave worked.
We had called ahead to confirm a check-in time of 3:00 as we were attending a wedding and had to dress and leave by 4:00. Upon arrival we were told our room would be delayed by 15-20 minutes. When I indicated that we would wait in the hall outside our room for cleaning staff to finish, I was told to “stand over there” (a bench in the lobby), and “wait until I was called”, in a very rude and condescending manner by a woman with long dark hair, who I assumed was the manager. Our room was booked well in advance as part of a wedding block. Though staff eventually assigned an alternate room, albeit in a grudging compromise, the attitude of this particular woman was unacceptable for anyone in the service industry. Another guest who witnessed our checkin, suggested that perhaps the manager was “grumpy” because she had had a busy day. Perhaps the manager should find a job where she is not required to interact with the public-cleaning staff comes to mind.
This was a quiet and clean place to stay. The staff was courteous and helpful. I would recommend this hotel, for its convenience to the highway and restaurants in the area. This place had all the comforts to make your stay enjoyable!
You need somewhere that's clean safe and affordable, with a free decent breakfast and decent amenities. I'd recommend this place. I think having decent coffee 24/7, pool, and bottled water for guests was a nice touch.
I've stayed here a number of times over the past year for family reasons and it's always been a good experience. I travel alone and they're always kind and helpful and the place feels safe, it's clean.
Overall, great experience. We were there as a large group of kids and parents for a baseball tournament. Everybody was nice and accommodating. Breakfast was above average. Pillows can be better, bed k.
right in the thick of things, practically any service or foodie place you hope for is right close to Best Western. Very easy to get in and out. Rooms are clean, bathrooms are clean, staff are happy, breakfast, is on the better scale, with plenty of selection. Would stay again. Check to see if renos to pool and hot tub have been completed, if you are so inclined.
Issue one was the pool did not look as nice as it does in the website pictures... The floor of pool has a lot of patch work. Issue 2 was the hit tub jets were out of service - not enjoyable without the jets Issue 3 was our room was not serviced for our 2nd night despite us being out majority of day (we also hung the service hanger outside our room Door)
Trip to celebrate Mother's ninetieth birthday in Guelph Ontario. Closest quality hotel at best cost. Close to travel routes and central to South Western Ontario attractions. Had rental vehicle and lots of parking.
We booked in this hotel for a wedding we were attending. They were so accommodating for all of our needs. Early check in due to the early wedding time, change of rooms we requested..done! The breakfast was much more than we usually see at a hotel where breakfast was included and very enjoyable. Rooms were clean and well maintained! Overall a great place to stay. Curtis at front desk made our stay stress free and easy! Great job!
Diana and Izzi where as friendly and efficient as ever. Check in was fast and accurate. Diana helped me with a minor issue with my room very quickly. Within walking distance of several very good restaurants.
This hotel needs to be refurbished. From the tired lobby to the elevator which we had to ensure was actually stopped level to the floor to the dinged up furniture to the mattress which we could feel springs through to the mold and mildew in the bathroom. See pics of bathroom.
Front desk was very helpful. Pool and hot tub were great. No problem and breakfast was good but needs Belgium waffle maker. Location was good, next to Walmart but bit of a walk todoor. Overall great value.
Great service especially Ellie at the bar. Great round of golf at the course, Joe at the bar was also good. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Cheap drinks and a good night out overall. Thanks
We were attending the Farm show in Woodstock and found this a pleasant drive and stay. The staff are so welcoming and helpful and the continental breakfast was full of a vast array of choices. Fan in room was noisy though.
Whilst staying at the hotel before a family wedding, having travelled over from Scotland, my wife unfortunately tested positive for COVID, meaning that our isolation period would take us beyond the original check out date. On explaining the situation to reception, the young man on duty immediately added 5 days onto our room to give us some breathing space to work out when we could travel home. The ability to grab breakfast and take it to the room, coupled with the in room microwave was a godsend, as I was testing negative and able to get supplies from the nearby Walmart. The staff were all very friendly, the duty manager gave us a discounted rate on the room for the extra nights and the continuous availability of hot drinks at reception was great. The hotel was clean, bed was comfy and the amenities as expected. It's all about value for money and I had no complaints.
We booked a stay here to celebrate my sons 15th bday at Bingemans. On arrival front door staff was very friendly and eager to please. We met the Manager of the property whereas he greeted all new customers at front desk and was tremendously friendly and approachable. The pool is under construction BUT on arrival the manager stated it's going to be renovated but wanted to keep it open for patrons due to kids wanting to swim! Awesome my two enjoyed it! Our room was a 4th floor corner suite in which the manager had made sure our room was to our needs and liking! Great customer service here! We arrived Aug 15/22 and checked out Aug 16/22. The front door/desk personal is definitely a keeper and the Managers skills would be appreciated in all establishments!! WE WILL BE BACK can't wait to see the Reno's :) thanks again!
Elevator was slow and felt unsafe, gym equipment didn't work, shower was cold and unclean, weird smell in room, TV didn't work properly, food was gross, room wasn't as clean as we expected, room and hotel could have used a lot of updates.
Went here on some business, and stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in July. The check in was ok, but quite impersonal. When I got to my room I was quite disappointed by the state of it. The bed was creaky and old, the carpet was stained and dated, the windows were not shutting properly, the AC was not cooling very effectively, and the bathroom tub and showerhead was quite moldy (see the pictures attached). The breakfast was ok, standard for any 2 star hotel. I do not think that I would stay here again, unfortunately.
The hotel was ok. Nice Lobby, room was clean, internet great. Right off highway which we knew. Normally wear ear plugs would suggest if staying there as lots of traffic noise. Had no hot water, called desk, plumbing issue which was fixed but that night being on top floor took over 5 minutes to get hot water, the next morning was fine. You can tell this was a older building, the tub and toilet could be replaced.instead of repaired. It was fine for the 1 night but probably would not stay again although the price was right.
Easy to find and close to highway 401. Clean, bright lobby, sufficient parking, efficient check-in. Luggage carts available. Clean, comfortable room with king bed, lots of pillows, bath tub and shower combo, wifi, tv, coffee maker etc. and good breakfast buffet. Coffee available in lobby on arrival. Friendly staff. Didn't use the pool but it looked good. Well lit rooms with lots of power outlets, especially by the bed for CPAP machines etc.
This hotel is older in the inside but clean. The beds are great & the breakfast is excellent! The biffet breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, bagels, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, yogurt parfait bar, muffins, juice & coffee/tea. The pool & hot tub are a good size. There's a gym with machines but no free weights. The staff are very helpful. We had a great experience there!
Having the room with the separate sitting area was perfect for traveling with spouse for work. Morning breakfast between 6:30- 9:30 was an ample amount of time to figure out a gap to actually enjoy the meal.
Clean rooms, comfy bed , clean hotel , friendly staff , nice quiet hotel . close to all amenities Enjoyed my stay.would stay here again if I was traveling to this area again I don't usually write reviews . Because some people will complain about everything and it is hard to trust most reviews . But I can honesty say it was a very nice place to stay , Hope this helps anyone looking at this hotel for a stay . Oh also pool and hot spay was very nice as well !
Bathroom shower shower had mold and tub did not drain properly when having a shower. I personally do not want to stand in 3 inches of water while showering. The toilet had a leak and continuously ran and leaked onto the floor. Overall a disgusting room!
The light in the ceiling was ugly fluorescent tubes. There is water damage by the door to the outside the wall paper needs replacing. The walls were patched poorly. The shower tap is hard to turn the water from cold to hot needs replacing
The hotel is very old and dated. The ceramic floors were cracked in several places, the elevator is noisy, shaky and a bit scary, the paint is peeling off the walls and there are no accessible rooms ( all rooms have tubs no walk ins). The staff are pleasant and accommodating and the room seemed to be clean. Breakfast bar had a good variety of items to choose from but the sausages and bacon were very overcooked/ burnt.
Hotel was very convenient and easy access to the 401 and Highway 24. Very clean rooms and all areas of the hotel. Breakfast had a large variety of food so anyone could find something to their liking. Throughly enjoyed the pool and hottub.
I called when I landed and asked if I could check in early. I was told that the hotel was full and that no one had checked out yet. They said that they would do their best. When I got there two hours later the room was ready. It was very clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. I had the best sleep that I have had in a long time.
Room wasn't cleaned. Had to vacuum it myself with vacuum left in the hallway for the entire weekend. Plumbing issues as well with sinks not draining and toilets not flushing properly. Breakfast buffet had a good selection
Very clean, helpful pleasant staff. Amenities all around which made for great shopping and convenience. Kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Breakfast buffet was great. Lots of options. Would definitely return.
Delightful stay at Bar Hill Cambridge. Staff are extremely polite and helpful with special thanks to Megan, Sophie and Joe for going over and above the call of duty. Nothing too much trouble and very accommodating. Hotel is currently under a renovation programme so no access to the pool. Looking forward to going back when everything is up and running. Currently planning a new menu which will be all the more exciting.
Beds were great. Location good near shopping and restaurants. Happy to stay at this hotel. You will not be disappointed. We had not made reservations ahead of time yet there was room available. Friendly staff.
Clean hotel, would stay again when I'm in the area. Nice size room, great breakfast and very fast check in and check out. Staff very helpful. Close and walking distance to many restaurants and shopping.
Always an easy and pleasant stay with pleasant staff and decent accommodations . The staff accommodate early check-ins when possible and address issues promptly. The hotel is located conveniently close to shopping and transportation.
Got locked out of my room as there was a door directly to the parking lot as well as the hallway. Had to go to lobby at 3AM to get manager to let me back in my room. I was in my Pyjamas as I was just stepping out for a fresh breath of air because the room was very hot. He let me in right away. I also found the breakfast had a good choice of items. Coffee was all I was looking for though. Next time I will stay and have a Waffle.
Absolutely love coming to this hotel. The check in is always smooth and takes a few moments. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The staff are super helpful with all your needs. Breakfast is awesome every morning. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Very good hot breakfast buffet...room appeared clean. The bed was very uncomfortably hard. The furniture was old and needed fabric repairs or replacing. Would have been nice if they had removed the remnant pieces of anti slip tape off the bottom of the tub. Staff were efficient and helpful. Price was quite reasonable. The soundproofing between rooms was not great...we could easily hear the neighbor's tv in the morning.
This hotel was good for the price we paid. The pool was freezing cold, but the hot tub was hot. The rooms were old and not perfectly maintained, but they were clean. The breakfast was good as far as continental breakfasts go.
I loved my stay at the best western. I always feel like I am home when I stay there! Everyone knows my name when I come to stay there. Just the overall atmosphere is amazing!! I will continue to be an elite member.
I haven't come across a more friendly and accommodating staff in all my years of staying in various places in Ontario for the last 27 years. Hot breakfast is amazing, front desk very accommodating for extra towels if needed,, faxing papers, and whatever I needed they were there to help. Variety of coffee and teas available 24/7 and My personal favourite Hot Chocolate with marshmallows and whip cream!!!
Really nice staff and very clean facility. We will stay again at Best Western Plus Cambridge Hotel. We had to make a reservation change and it was handled quickly and easily. Good pool and hot tub facility.
Staff here was super helpful and welcoming. Neat and tidy facilities, pool and hot tub were wonderful. Getting into the parking lot can be a bit tricky the first time, but once you figure that out you're very close by to all you may need. Can't wait until the next time!!
Our room had a view of a Walmart parking lot which filled me with misplaced joy and general giddiness at first but the unidentified red goo everywhere ultimately made me as uneasy as a leper getting a facial. Lingerie tags, an empty bag of weed and a busted dead bolt did however have me longing for my old punk band Ben Dover and The Pass-A-Fists. This room really could have been a perfect setting far a video to support our single « Stretched Too Thin » but ultimately it lacked the class we were looking for. I will say that the complimentary tetracycline was most welcomed. Nice touch Best Western! Maybe look elsewhere if full body rashes doesn't appeal to you.
Staff are friendly, rooms are clean, hot breakfast is back… perfect for my needs Jeremy alway goes above an beyond to ensure you are having a comfortable stay and are informed about everything the hotel offers
I was staying alone (mommy alone time!) And the room at Best Western was perfect. One queen bed with a chair and ottoman! The bathtub area was left to be desired but the room was clean! Breakfast was still provided. Juice, fruit, muffin and Granola bar with yogurt, cereal, breakfast sandwiches upon request. The throw off for me was two staff were behind the desk during check in and neither were wearing a mask. I guess after walking past 47 posters reminding me of covid and masking it was just surprising. All staff were kind and did their job as expected! My remote didn't work and the TV was so loud but the staff was able to immediately provide me with a replacement!
When I first came in, the receptionist was arguing very unprofessionally with a customer. When I got to my room later that evening, the room next door was playing music very loudly, there was a significant stain on the carpet in the entrance, and the bathtub was brown and the sheets were full of wrinkles like someone just slept in it. I stayed in the room for 5mins and left for the Hilton down the road. ( at 10:00pm)
This hotel was terrible. The lobby was clean, but the rooms were outdated. The hotel staff did not pick up used towels and garbage that was put out in the hallway for replenishing for two days. It only got picked up once a complaint was made. I didn't not have hot water and had to call the hotel directly because the phone did not work. When discussed with two different staff members, they did not forward to management. I expected a discount, but only received when I asked for it upon check out. There seemed to be homeless people living on the 4th floor. Do not recommend.
The room was good. The hot tub and pool use was very valued. The staff was exceptional. Tea and coffee are always available. The pool and hot tub can be booked for a specific time and it was quite available which was a big plus. The staff was definitely the most memorable.
The staff accommodated the team providing them space in the basement to play mini sticks and make noise without disturbing other guests. In addition, parents were accommodated to gather in the lobby and have social time.
Fast and friendly check-in and check-out. Clean and spacious room. Convenient location Lobby is bright and inviting I would definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends. Ample parking.
We stayed there this past weekend as we were in town for a wedding. Check in went smoothly, Michael at the front desk was VERY polite, friendly and is wonderful in customer service. Overall the hotel needs some updating. The toilet hadn't been cleaned in our room, some fecal matter still stuck on the bowl. Big stain on the carpet, wallpaper peeling off, some sort of crud around the bathtub. And a large amount of calcium build up on the shower head. like more green seen then the silver head. Bed was very uncomfortable and pillows were awful. Room was very stuffy so I turned the AC on. We didn't bother with breakfast and went out but they had “to go” bags of breakfast (juice, muffin and fruit).
Excellent customer service very friendly and efficient. The service desk was friendly and helpful. All of my needs were met. The view of the room was beautiful. When problems arise it was corrected immediately and professional. Beautiful staff and room
Our first time at Best Western Lus and was very impressed. Breakfast was included. Staff friendly and very helpful. Room was great and very quiet. Loved the location could walk to shopping and five minute drive to a great restaurant, Fifties.
Spent a night at this hotel and was rewarded with a good night's sleep and decent take-away breakfast. Pool and hot tub were great. We needed the GPS to find it and it is a little tricky to get to from one direction. Otherwise, no issues.
Mold on ceiling at AC vent, leaking toilet, rust on towel rack and behind toilet, tape on smoke detector, flickering lamp, old shower head with calcium build up and too much pressure that cannot be adjusted, dirty grout in shower and toilet areas. We expected more for a Best Western and based on the star rating. I have stayed in far better quality 2 star hotels for cheaper than this "4 star rated". Service was good and bed comfortable, otherwise I will pay more and stay at a hotel with better quality rooms that don't feel gross.
Having a hotel near the highway is important to me, but more than that is pleasant staff. AT this Cambridge hotel, the staff at front desk is helpful and pleasant, making it my first choice in the area!!
Front desk gentleman was phenomenal....best customer service ever ! Room was mediocre...tub needs resurfacing, breakfast was surprisingly good. The hotel next door...more expensive and no breakfast therefore for the price and only 1 night it was ok.
My husband was having surgery and it was very important to us that the room be sanitized. Our room had blood stains in the bathroom and mould on the tiles and the shower head was hanging off the wall with a hole behind it. The room smelled of stale cigars smoke. Not great experience.
The air conditioning was so weak we spent the night sweating, the phones in our room didn't work, the hot water in the shower ran our twice on my wife, the hot tub had chunks of hair floating around it in that I didn't notice until it was on me. Also, the WiFi went out numerous times during our stay. My son who usually enjoys hotel stays was disgusted, my wife vows to never come back and I'm left in trouble because I booked it, thinking of course, it would be decent. Totally disappointed and disgusted. The employees were great but the amenities and experience was just awful. Wish I could get my money back.
Pros: Good location (on a main stretch, close to stores and restaurants) Friendly service (if not too casual in the case of some individuals) Complementary tea and coffee Thick blackout curtains Hot and spacious hot tub Quiet most of the time Cons: Many cosmetic issues (holes in the walls and ceilings, chipped or peeling paint, worn concrete, broken tiles, broken doors) Scary elevators (unresponsive, noisy, get stuck, jerky) Dirty bathroom (shallow hair in the tub, dirty toilet with crusty brown stuff on the side) Poor lighting in room and bathroom (no good for makeup) Insufficient bedding (1 thin duvet, 1 thin blanket and about 6 sheets for 2 beds) Extremely noisy AC with outdated controls Cold pool with very strong chemicals/salt Side entrances disabled from the outside Breakfast (understandable with Covid, but there could still have been more options)
Every staff member was incredibly friendly and very helpful! Hotel was clean and we loved the pool and hot tub! Close to everything we needed. The fitness area was a bit smaller then anticipated and unfortunately the treadmill wasn't in working order. Overall, we would definitely stay here again!
Front staff is friendly and respectful. The general manager is super nice and sweet. I noticed he talked to every guests arrives at the hotel. Room is clean. Beddings and pillows are in good condition. Breakfast is "grab a bag". The breakfast bag includes a bottle of juice, apple, muffin and granola bar.
During Covid breakfasts looked a little different - staff on duty were awesome and couldn't do enough for you with regard to getting the breakfast items you requested. As well, we had left our camera behind - customer service phoned us to tell us we had forgotten it - and they are shipping it to us! I was blown away that they called to tell us we had left our camera behind in the room.
Not the best Best Western hotels I have stayed in but not the worst either. It is in need of a little TLC. Reception was very friendly and welcoming. Location is good. Right next to 401 and the main strip. Breakfast is bagged but you can ask for other stuff as well from attendant. Beds are comfy as are pillows. Washroom would need a reno. Because of Covid restrictions, max in elevator is 3 so chose your time well or take the stairs.
My husband and I recently stayed at the Best Western Cambridge for our nieces wedding we were only going to stay for two days. Then we had a slight health worry and stayed for two more nights. Ervery employee was friendly and fulfilled all of our requests.
First time in a year and a half due to covid and they again serviced my needs flawlessly. Quick Checkin, clean room and a quick checkout. Breakfast has of course changed due to covid but staff went out of their way to make sure I was happy.
Although the building itself could use a refresh, everything the clean and in good working order. The staff here is outstanding!! I will definitely be staying here again when I'm back in the area. Highly recommend!!
The washroom in our room desperately needs renovating. Also if other hotels can offer a hot breakfast now, why can't this hotel when we're paying the same price? The staff are great, but the pool was VERY cold.
Got an amazing rate for a Saturday night. Room, common areas and pool were clean. Staff was amazing! Rooms and elevator can use some updating, but that's not going to affect your stay. Grab and Go breakfast did rhe trick. Would like to see a pub or restaurant on site. Will be traveling back later this month to help a friend who is dealing with a terminal family member will book an extended stay here at that time.
Booked this hotel for two nights to remain close by while my mother was in hospital. We chose this hotel as we have stayed at many best westerns before and they are generally clean and well kept. That unfortunately was not the case with this experience. Immediately on our arrival in our room, the room smelled of mouldy basement mixed with smoke. We turned on the A/C to help clear the smell of the room and could not believe the noise that came from it, it basically shook the whole room. Next we took our shoes off and found that the carpet in the entire room was wet. That was when we requested a new room. To their credit they did give us a new room right away... three doors down from the original. This room was better, the carpet was dry and the room only smelled of faint smoke, without the smell of basement. The A/C unit had the same thunderous noise to it. We reluctantly chose to stay the night. The bathroom was dated but okay, the shower generally clean with some grime caked in the corners that i tried to ignore. Unfortunately another problem arose when I pulled back the sheets to my bed and found the middle blanket (the one between the flat sheet and the hotel top bedspread that they say to never use) was stained in multiple places with what appeared to be blood or other bodily fluids. Needless to say I slept without a blanket. Various other small issues were noted through our stay: the cable cut out off and on, the elevators were slow and seemed they would break down at any second. I definitely would not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone until they do some serious updating. We ended up staying two more nights in the area, one night each at the neighbouring hotels (Hilton & Cambridge Hotel) due to limited availability, both were way superior and similarly priced. Don't waste your time or money with this best Western.
Hotel is very clean staff are really nice and go out of their way to help you. The room was clean, breakfast was really good. The only thing is you might not get a cart to put your luggage on since their are only 2 and sometimes people don't bring them back.
Quite simply stated, it has been years since I experienced service delivery standards of such a rare high standard. I recommend this hotel in the strongest possible terms. I am switching reward programs to Best Western!
We booked three rooms for a family gathering. From the moment we arrived until when we settled the bill they provided exceptional service. Rooms were really clean, convenient location, Highly recommend.
The lobby looked convincing and welcoming when you first walked in but when you got towards the rooms all you could smell was mildew and you got a general unclean feeling. We had two gentlemen across our rooms on the second night of stay that actually smoked in their room so it left the hallway and our room smelling even worse. There were stains everywhere and between the two hotel rooms we had one toilet that barely flushed and the other was broken at the handle and leaked all over the bathroom floor. When we told the front desk the lady just handed me more towels for the mess. Other than the staff, who were generally pleasant to deal with, the hotel itself was just dingy.
We were going to go somewhere else but it didn't work out so ended up at the Best Western. Turned out we were glad we did! We had a decent experience so came back again. Now it's one of our top 3 hotels in this area! Can't wait to come back in the fall when the indoor pool is open.
Nice hotel, close to major stores and gas stations Friendly staff and clean rooms comfy beds. I come here often for business and never had an issue. With this pandemic ongoing it's nice to feel safe by their covid protocols to keep staff and guest safe
We really enjoyed our stay at Best Western Plus Cambridge Hotel. Staff The staff was very helpful, understanding and polite. Our room was very clean. Internet speed was very good, we didn't encounter any problems with the Internet. Hotel is located in a very good location, close to restaurants and amenities.
The hotel is right near the highway 401 making it convenient. But most important is the pleasantness of the staff and that is where this hotel excels!! The breakfast was reasonably good based on the situation that we are in now!
Elevator broke down intermittently - the fix that I was given was to send that one on its way and call up the other elevator. Ceiling leaked from unit above - given another room but not equivalent to what I had. Breakfast wasn't not edible.
I usually stay at BW hotels as I know the service from checking in until checking out will be great. All Covid steps were taken and felt very comfortable staying here. I would definitely recommend this location for anyone staying in the area. Also, quick access to the Hwy and many amenities.
Everything from the front desk to my room was a very good experience. Pleasant helpful and knowledgeable staff it was a very clean and comfortable room, I will and already have recommend you to friends and family.
The location off the major highway was excellent. The lobby is spacious and open. Social distancing was easy to do because of the layout. The bed, lounge chair and ottoman were very comfy. I was able to reach my goal of 12 hours of restful, uninterrupted sleep. Nice quiet room.
We had such a great experience at this Best Western. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable as our work hours are quite erratic and we had to be out of our home for a week. Plans ended up changing our reservation and Michael was so accommodating and kind. Would definitely recommend staying here!!
We had a last minute trip to Cambridge and having stayed at this hotel before, even during renovation, we once again were very satisfied. The staff has always been excellent and the rooms comfortable and clean.
Thought it would be nice to take the family to a hotel with a nice pool for the week. It was dirty and cold there was hair floating in pool and I cleaned bugs out on 2 occasions. The temperature was set to low which made it unbearable for myself and my wife. There are rocks and other gravel at the bottom in the corners. The pool closes for 2 hours every day for maintenance however in the 5 days we stayed the pool net was not moved once.
I cannot praise the Best Western enough. A truly fantastic place to stay, with an amazing manager who did everything in his power to ensure that my wife and I were comfortable during a very stressful time as new parents. If you stop reading here, you must know the level of service, the personalized care/touch as well as the warmth and friendliness of the staff is unparaleled... And the beds are super comfy! The Cambridge Best Western Plus is easily one of the bests stays I've had at a hotel in Canada. My wife gave birth in Hamilton and our baby needed some extra care. We were moved to Cambridge due to a bed shortage in Hamilton. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, we were forced to get a hotel room so we could have a home base while one of us was in the hospital, as we were not allowed to be there together. On the first night, we chose the closest possible hotel to Cambridge Memorial -- the Travelodge. We were so underwhelmed due primarily to smells and... shall we say less than favourable clientelle, that the next day I went out on a quest to make sure that my wife (who had just given birth three days earlier) would have someplace safe, comfortable and relaxing while I was giving her a break in the hospital. We have stayed at Best Western's before always with a favourable experience, so I immediately come to the one in Cambridge. Michael, the manager, was super accomodating when I explained our circumstances, getting a room ready for me within minutes of my arrival, despite the fact that I showed up way earlier than check-in. We had booked several nights, due to uncertainty around our hospital stay, and when we had to cut the stay short, Michael again was super understanding and accomodating. Honestly, I can't praise this Best Western enough. Thank you Michael and staff! Once things return to some state of normalcy, we will stay here again... even though we only live 45 minutes away.
I really enjoy staying in best Western hotels. I will be more then happy to come again. Everything is working fine and they maintain the social distance. I want you to give it a try. You will like it.
Had to stay overnight unexpectedly after a tire blowout. Staff alleviated a stressful situation by getting me into a room without a reservation and without difficulty. Interaction with all staff couldn't have been more seamless and they were all especially helpful.
The hotel seems a little tired and could use a refresh. Staff was excellent. Room decor/bedding just did not seem up to par with other Best Western Plus hotels we have stayed at. That being said, yes I would stay here again. You can walk to Walmart and Montana's just to name a few.
The room was very nice and clean! Had everything we needed!! We spent a lot of time at the pool, nice area except the hot tub was a bit dirty. Breakfast was good! I liked the 24 hour complimentary coffee and tea!!
I checked in and was given a room on the 6th floor. I went up and found the door propped open so instead of going in, I went back down to the front desk. They gave me another room without any issues. Didn't even make me feel silly for not wanting to go in. I then had some issues with the TV remote. One person came up to help, but had the same difficulties as me so he went to find another person. They brought a new converter, but it really didn't have a great responsiveness. In the end, I used an app on my phone, but they were super sweet! The front desk were very helpful, the room was clean and bright, and the included breakfast was really good. I would stay here again!
Decided to book a place for our move in night at our new home. Glad we did as we didn't finish until middle of the night. At check in decided to book a second night, made great use of the hot tub and wonderful breakfast.
This hotel is extremely dated, smelly, and dingy. I stay in a lot of hotels for work and this was by far the worst hotel I've seen. Cleaning was not very good either, the the bathrooms in particular. The floors had lots of dirt and hair on them. The front lobby has been renovated but the rooms have not, and they are in dire need. The elevator was extremely sketchy. We saw 3 different rooms, all smelled, were old and were simply not up to the BW Plus typical standard. Apparently they are startling room renovations in March 2020 but until then I don't feel they should be marketing it as a BW Plus. Luckily we were able to get our money back and get a room in the Hilton Suites (about 10 minutes away) instead, which was very nice and the same price.
Everything about this hotel is okay. The rooms were okay, the staff was okay, the breakfast was okay, the location is okay. The elevators are bit sketchy, though. I got stuck in one, but was rescued by staff, who knew exactly what to do.
Stayed here overnight while we visited with family .We stay here for the breakfast and quality of the motel for the price we paid .Easy access to highway and lots of stores and restaurants close by.Staff is friendly and polite .We never hesitate to stay when we are here .
We had a great night here , The hotel in and out of the room was so clean. The pool was great super clean area. Breakfast was awesome! So many choices. The staff were super helpful and kind overall we had a great trip!
With the many choices of hotels in the area, this was a good one. The pool/hot tub were clean and inviting. The room was clean...however a coffee cup was missed during clean up. Breakfast is included but underwhelming.
The hotel is great value for money. Good amenities, close to restaurants, shopping, transportation. Easy to get to. Great parking. Lots of options for breakfast, great pool area. Cozy rooms. The real reason to stay here is the staff. I have never said this before about a hotel but have said it twice in the past year about this particular hotel. The staff, all of them, are so helpful and professional, they stay on top of everything (eg. Towels in the pool, dwindling breakfast food, cleanliness, random customer requests) and they deal with even difficult guests incredibly well.
excellent location for families and commuters, Cambridge Best Western Plus has an amazing breakfast with many hot and cold food options. The pool and spa are great for family travelers and the hotel is located across from major shopping close to hwy 401
It was fine...rooms need a little. Also, rooms types need more clarification. I booked 2 double beds...got 1 double bed and a pullout...not what i booked but for one night it was fine. It was a convenient location so didn't make a fuss.
We visited the best western Cambridge in December as part of a family visit to see Elf at the Hamilton theatre. This hotel is ok if you get a good price. The staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby is well kept and modern. In our room the shower pressure was fantastic. The room while clean was quite dated with tears in the bed skirt and some odd smells suggesting need for a deep cleaning. Breakfast was average but as expected. There was little sound attenuation from the hall into the room but overall the hotel was quiet. All in all if you get a great rate than this hotel is decent value.
We stayed for one evening on an overnight trip to see a show at The Hamilton Family Theatre in Cambridge. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. Breakfast was standard and good. Good size room and very clean and quiet. Some mild wear and tear on the furniture and curtains. Only disappointment was that the pool heater was out while they waited for a part to come. I did appreciate that the pool info was shared at check-in.
Room was spotless and very clean. No damage and the staff was very friendly. Lots of variety for the complimentary breakfast, and was very tasty! Pool area and hot tub were very clean, and nice hotel!
The hotel is ideally located near the 401 Highway. Staff is pleasant and helpful, especially Karine in the breakfast centre. The Elite recognition is nice as it is better than other hotel chains. The value was reasonable
We were looking for an inexpensive, but nice hotel to have a little getaway. The Best Western Cambridge seemed to fit the bill. After checking out the usual discount sites to my surprise the actual Best Western seemed to have the best deal so I booked through their own site. On arrival I found out that the booking was set for the next day. I know I had selected the correct dates. They said that for some reason when booking over the internet, if the hotel is low on rooms for the dates you want it will check you all the way through to the end of the process for the dates you select, but then bump you to the next day on the final booking page. She told me to be really careful the next time to watch for that. Huh. Since it was late and an ice storm was on the way she found us a Junior suite-she warned me the price was higher, but we'd get a nice upgrade for our trouble. I was okay with that. We had three lovely nights at the place. The room was clean and quiet, the hot tub was hot (the pool is not), the breakfast is good and the staff was nice too. Then we got the bill. Wow! Besides the base price and the HST tax they add on a "Marketing Service Fee" as well as a "Marketing Activation Fee." If they were honest up front then I could make an informed decision, but adding all these extra fees?? If I look at the quote I received (excluding the additional day and all those fees too) they actually charged almost $40 more! Either way we won't be going back to Cambridge again. I just feel lied to.
Staff super friendly and inviting, game complimentary rooms in the basement to hang out so not bothering the rest of the guests or hanging out In the hallway. Complimentary breakfast was decent...beautiful well kept pool and hot tub.. the only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is it could use a little updating! Definitely would book our next stay here again when coming with a team!
Expensive when the "Marketing Service Fee" and "Marketing Activation Tax" were added above and beyond the HST. Toilet never did work properly - even after it was "repaired". Bathtub very slippery - danger re falling.
Good value. Basic room. Clean. Friendly breakfast staff. No yogurt. :-( Attended my uncle's Celebration of Life that day, so a nice place to stay made a difficult day a little easier. Would stay at this location again.
Never disappointed staying at this hotel. Staff are very friendly, the rooms are clean and quiet. Great breakfast selection and hotel very close to highway. Swimming pool and hot tub on premises. There many restaurants nearby. The beds are so comfortable and ther are both soft and firm pillows provided.
*Nice Staff *Good Breakfast *Clean *Good Pool *Great Location *Spacious Rooms *Microwaves in Room *Keurig in Room *Fridge in Room *Comfy Beds *Great Free Wifi-Not Glitchy *Lots of Free Parking *Overall Great Hotel
My stay was great. No issues when requesting a slight delayed checkout, as I was working in the morning and my wife was in the room so I picked her up at lunch. Room was great and quiet. I almost always stay here when in the area.
I recently stayed at this hotel and had a few problems during my stay. What blew me away however and turned what would have been a 1-star review into a 5-star review was the commitment to customer service following my stay to ensure they went above and beyond to compensate for what went wrong. Although the team that was working that evening was very helpful in their efforts to fix the problems I had experienced, they didn't seem sympathetic to going "above and beyond" to correct the problem. However three days later a lady named Joanne called me, and both apologized for the experience of my stay and went over and above what I ever could have expected in ensuring I was satisfied and would stay there again! It is obvious my experience was a one-off experience and that this hotel and their staff are committed to excellence in the quality of their hotel rooms, experience of their guests, and the quality of their customer's satisfaction. Thanks to Joanne's efforts to go above and beyond, I WILL be back!
Having stayed at most Best Western Plus hotels in Canada and the US, I was extremely dissatisfied with the conditions of the bathroom. I have 4 rooms reserved for the family as we were attending a wedding and ALL 4 ROOMS, had mold in the bathroom. One of them had mold around the living room windows. This info was submitted to the front desk.
These folks went above and beyond...offering early check ins where possible...Provided a comp Hospitality room for team...excellent rooms clean and comfortable and a nice pool and comp hot/cold breakfast.....Really couldn't have had better experience !!!
It was late on a Friday night and I had to get to Hamilton early in the morning with my colleagues, I stopped in and Diana helped us check in and find a room and get us checked in with a smile. Will definitely be staying here again as a result of the service
This hotel has everything including free breakfast and 24 hr coffee . The pool was clean and inviting and the hot tub was fantastic. Great service from staff with no negative issues. Highly recommended
Staff acting like they were at home not at work. Yelling at guests when we walked in playing on there phones. What we booked was not provided and they did not care. Also knowledge was minamel. Bath tubs were dirty and room was dusty
Easy on and off highway and close to many restaurants. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Wifi was SLOW but otherwise this is a good hotel to stay at and I would not hesitate to stay here if I was in the area again.
I have stayed at this hotel previously and have found everything excellent. I cannot say enough about the staff at this hotel especially the manager Mr. Mike Regan. Michael will go out of his way to make his clients stay a good one. He makes me feel like family when I visit. Thank you.
Excellent location, directly off the 401....Shopping and restaurants nearby and within walking distance....room was clean, and bed was comfortable....kids enjoyed the pool area...breakfast was included in the price, and was very good...will return and highly recommend...
The staff we dealt with were good. On the whole the room was good, although it would have been nicer to have fewer stains on the office chair and rug. I really like that the windows opened to let fresh air in. The location - right off the 401 - was convenient. The disappointing surprise was the inclusion of a second marketing tax on our bill. I understand about destination marketing taxes payable to the local government (called Marketing Activation Tax in this case), but the second one (called Marketing Service Fee) was not in our cost estimate when I booked at the BW online booking site. I asked about it and the person I spoke to could only say that it was another marketing tax and immediately offered to reverse it. That tells me that BW has control over it, and, since the person I spoke to couldn't explain it further, tells me that it's a cash grab under a fancy name. So be sure to ask for it to be refunded if it appears on your bill. This somewhat tarnished my opinion of Best Western.
The lobby is redone giving a false pretense of what to expect in the rooms. I was later told the rooms were going to be redone. My room had issues. The bathroom door squeaked (asked to have someone spray WD40 & it was done); tub didn't drain so each shower was in 6 inches of soap scum; bathroom door was not opening all the way and would stick upon closure which I reported; the bathroom fan was annoying loud and very disturbing when the bathroom was used in the middle of the night; I told the front desk we were going to be leave later than the cleaning schedule and to have the room cleaned - NOT DONE! We came back from an all day event to a messy room! Very frustrating.
Stayed for one night while visiting the University of Waterloo. Unable to check in early due to sellout night before. Checked in around 4:30pm on a Wed. Had a $20 gift card which was not applied to reservation until notified front desk next morning. Hotel had warm pool and large hot tub. Breakfast was standard hotel fare. Note back delivery entrance door was “taped” open so in and out not secured at this entrance. Room was a bit dated with old thermostat on wall. Bed not the most comfortable with spring mattress. Shower curtain needed to be changed due to perspiration smell. Overall, stay was ok. Recommend to all.
I use to stay in this hotel because is really close to my work place. It is always comfortable but as a services i have to point out than is decreasing the quality. At my arrival the room was prepared but not cleaned. Were present in the bathroom hair and four, it was not a pleasure. 1 elevator was 3 day out of order and the only 1 present was not working properly I am confident they will stabilise again the level of quality than normally BW offer.
We only stayed one night as we were just passing through town but the hotel was very clean and the the breakfast was awesome! We would definitely stay here again. Pool/ spa area was nice and clean and the tv and fireplace there was a nice touch.
The location of this Best Western was close to shops, restaurants and highways, and their staff was most helpful in assisting with our check-in and explaining various amenities the hotel had to offer. Our room was well equipped with a little fridge and microwave, and it was clean and spacious. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast the next morning before heading out to continue our little trip.
The hotel is conveniently located. Numerous resturaunts and stores within walking distance. Clean rooms, friendly staff. There is an indoor pool and hot tub both of which were clean and well maintained.
I paid a pretty high amount for this room and African Lion Safari package and upon arrival the play pen wasn't in our room like we asked for. We found a pill on the floor beside the bed, which our 1 year old found, and could tell the floors weren't vacuumed really well.(old food/crumbs on floor). Also not a peanut/nut free breakfast, my daughter has a peanut allergy, so not a lot for her to eat. The pool area was good.
Let me explain. The front desk clerk loves my Buzz Off shirt i checked in with. It became a running joke the entirety of my stay. I felt more than just a client with that and it was appreciated. It spread to other staff members so it was quite funny
The room was filthy, in bad repair and the room, towels, pillows and sheets smelled like smoke. Someone nearby was smoking pot constantly, the whole floor stunk for our entire visit. batteries in TV remote were dead
Check-in was fine, friendly staff, room 602, view of Hespeler & shopping across the street. Decent size room, two queen beds, TV, AC, fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, good free wi-fi, 4 pillows per bed, table with 2 chairs and more. The TV remote was not working properly but called the front desk & a working replacement was provided promptly. Buffet breakfast – breads, cereal, waffles, juices, fruit scrambled & hard boiled eggs, sausages, yogurt, coffee, tea, milk & more, very good. It was very busy but the staff worked hard to keep everything filled. There was an indoor pool, never used but looked nice. Parking was free which was nice. The location is great, close to the 401, mall & box stores across the street, fast food & other restos within walking or short drive away. Overall, nice hotel & would stay again.
The staff are very friendly and the place is very clean lots of parking with Tesla charging across the street and for convenience it's just off the 401 highway lots or shopping around if needed thanks
Good location, easy to find and lots of parking available. Breakfast was excellent- lots of choices and served hot. Lighting in bathroom was odd- in the middle of the ceiling which left my face in shadow looking in the mirror so hopeless for applying make-up or shaving. Staff were very friendly and I felt welcome. Sheets and pillowcases smelled strongly of bleach- good to know that they were sanitized but not a pleasant smell to have near your face.
We were greeted warmly by staff at this hotel. They even offered my child a toy from the toy chest. This toy entertained him for the duration of our 2.5 week trip and counting. Room was clean and the pool/hot tub was a bonus. Breakfast buffet was also well stocked and offered a good variety.
We stayed at this hotel with 11 guests in 3 rooms. The staff were all friendly and our rooms were all put together. Rooms were very spacious and clean. The pool was clean and enjoyable with a hot tub and seating area with TV for entertainment. Hotel is close to major chain stores and restaurants as well. I will stay here again if in the area.
we found hotel central to our requirements. With all required amenities close at hand.We would definitely stay there again if we where in the area.tv had many channels available.plenty of towels and hot water .internet was exceptable .Breakfast was all inclusive ,hot or cold and lots of it, including fruit.
Though the hotel is a little dated the staff make the stay great. Kids loved the pool. We were in a group and the hotel had a room available for us to hang out in and when we all checked out right before the checkout time the staff worked hard to get it done.
We have always enjoyed our stay at Best western, enjoyable staff, centrally located to everything. They go over and above. The breakfast is amazing, it has everything to help you start your day with. Then enjoy a work out or swim after your day to relax.
Clean, quiet and comfortable rooms. Staff extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. No matter how busy they may be, every guest is treated as a V.I.P. The breakfast buffet offers a variety of items including eggs, bacon , sausage, fresh fruit, yogurt and bread selections.
This hotel was great. Close to everything. Affordable, friendly, clean and I highly recommend it. I was on a conference but next visit will be pleasure. Nice swimming pool and hot tub. Shopping was very close by and lots of it.
What makes this hotel exceptional is the staff! From the minute I was making my reservation and actually speaking to someone from the front desk (a bonus to speak with someone who could answer my questions right away instead of being put on hold while the person tried to find out the answers) gave me a postive outlook on this hotel. When we arrived and checked in it was fast with friendly staff. The housekeeping staff were excellent and friendly too. However the staff at the buffet were the absolute best! Thank-you very much to all the staff that made our visit stress free and a lot of fun!
We have stayed with our three grandchildren at this property several times. It is convenient to the 401. It has a pool for the kids and a hot tub for us. The breakfast is varied and there is plenty to eat. Rooms are big enough, it has a large screen tv as well as a frig and coffee maker. The manager remembered us and came to chat. The lady who checked us in was friendly and remembered that she had made my reservation the day before. We will continue to stay at this hotel when we are in this vicinity.
Unbelievable From check in to check out... this hotel was wonderful Diana at the front desk was amazing she was one of the most friendly, accommodating, and professional people I have ever encountered. She has qualities that any employer would be lucky to have in their employees. Single handedly SHE makes this hotel a 5 star We did not have the opportunity to meet any of the management, but judging by how happy and accommodating the rest of the staff are they must also be fantastic. Kudos to all ...JOB WELL DONE Would definitely recommend and stay here again
Check-in was quick and friend. Hotel was clean, access to coffee and tea 24 hrs. Daughter loved this perch. Room was nice, amenities low quality, maid was extremely helpful. Breakfast was adequate, nothing fantastic but plentiful.
I recently stayed here for a one night stay with my husband and son after visiting African lion safari. The hotel lobby and dining area were very clean and bright and the staff at the front counter was also very polite and helpful. It was the room that I was surprisingly disappointed with, since I always enjoy staying with Best Western chains. I dont mind staying at a hotel that is outdated, but when it's not clean is not the most pleasant. The lamp shade was broke just hanging there, the dining table leg had been broken and glued back on crooked, when I walked into the bathroom, the carpet was lifted off and wet, there was a pile of hair on the bathroom floor under the sink, the shower faucet wasnt secured and could be pulled right out of the wall, there were cherrios on the carpet, and when I open the fridge to put our left over pizza, there was something spit inside with a hair hanging. On the brighter note, the breakfast was delicious with a wide variety, friendly staff, and clean eating area. I wouldn't stay here again.
We checked in a few minutes, staffbwas friendly, room was great, all very modern and updated. Wifi was very fast and easy to access, breakfast in the next morning was great, staff there was very friendly and helpfull
I stayed for three weeks at the Best Western. I recommend this hotel for a decent stay with value for money. Staff members were very friendly and quite helpful for a first time visitor to Canada like me! Rooms were a bit old but I was told the hotel management is putting a decent investment to upgrade the place. Breakfast didn't have many options but I enjoyed the waffles, my favourite every morning and coffee and tea are free all day at the lobby. Would definitely consider coming back to this hotel.
The place is great, but the staff make it fantastic. A very relaxed and calm atmosphere created by the staff make the stay very enjoyable, every employee seems to very much so enjoy their job and it reflects on the quality they put into their services. Great breakfast, internet wasn't the best but that is the biggest critique i can give to this hotel.
Good stay, found an excellent price online. Upon getting into the room there was a cough drop wrapper in the nigh stand and shopping receipts in one of the dresser drawers that was 2 weeks old. Hallway had a musty smell but besides that the room and hotel served its useful purpose. Pool was a little dirty with debris floating on the floor but kids liked it. The breakfast was great and loved how cookies and morning go bags were available.
Clean hotel, friendly staff good breakfast included with room; more food than the usual continental breakfast. There was a party room for us to use for our group. The pool & hot tub were clean & area was well kept.
This Best Western is a suitable and affordable hotel when visiting locally. Use it as a convenient jumping off point to travel to your destination. It is close to transportation (highway) and shopping. Friendly staff greet you. It is clean and offers an indoor pool and hot tub. Coffee 7/24 and light complementary breakfast. Great for business travel.
Hotel was easy to find, conveniently located near my travel route. I found all the staff to be extremely pleasant & helpful. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub, front lounge area, breakfast and related facilities. Absolutely no complaints with room or anything during my stay.
This was a very pleasurable stay. The beds were comfortable, check in & out were easy & the location was fantastic. However the rooms were kind of ugly (except the bathroom which was very large and aesthetically pleasing with a very nice shower) and the breakfast was TERRIBLE. If you don't plan on eating breakfast here or taking photos in the hotel room this is an awesome place to stay!
was very unhappy with the room specifically the bathroom in which we had issues with water pressure, lack of ventilation, poor lighting. Also wasn't the prettiest room I've ever been to, could use an update. We had the power blow in our room after simply using the microwave one time. It took staff 20+ minutes to even locate the breaker as they weren't even sure which floor the breaker was on. afterwards we were roughly told to try not to have too many things plugged in instead of being given an apology. We had 2 lamps on and the microwave and an iPhone charger plugged in not in use across the room. Hotel staff loudly gossiped in the hallway each morning waking us up as noise carries very easily. Hotel staff grouped together daily outside of our back door in the parking lot to smoke which impeded on our privacy and not to mention was a non-smoking area and we were in a non-smoking room (I'm sensitive to the smoke.) Probably wouldn't be back to this hotel. If you do go, make sure your room isn't close to the lobby or you also won't get any sleep.
hotel is clean and the elevators are the best rarely waited for one!! and the hotel was full first two nights of stay generous breakfast and nice area to sit and eat tea and coffee in the lobby at all times right by the elevator nice pool and fitness area
Stayed here for a week while getting my crew some training. Rooms and breakfast were very nice, great location with a mall and multiple places to eat within walking distance. Pool and jacuzzi on site, Would recommend this hotel
Overnight leisure stay, affordable, clean, quiet, quick efficient service at check in and out, nice pool with towels, and a hot included breakfast with choice and friendly service as well ...great stay
Thanks so much to Best Western Plus for making our stay so pleasant. This hotel was nice and close to the Kitchener airport so it was a quick trip by taxi. We had never been to Cambridge before but the staff were helpful in recommending places to eat. Everything seemed to be close by. The breakfasts had everything we needed to keep us going through long mornings training with a new service dog. The staff were so accommodating and supportive of our transition bringing home a new service dog. We are so appreciative of this hotel providing a safe, relaxing, welcoming environment during our long, exhausting days of training. Thanks for all the support!
We have stayed at Best Westerns many times before in several cities and they are usually good. This was the worst one I have been to. Cleaniness is lacking, room smelled of mildew walking in (mold in bathroom around tiles, hot tub, pool), dirty shower head, behind toilet dust. Room 604 should not be rented to anyone in it's condition! Front desk staff rude and unfriendly. Made me feel bad for requesting a change of room, even at 20% capacity. They looked bored lounging on lobby couches, I felt like we were bothering them. Room was “cleaned” really late afternoon but was just bed cover pulled up, pillows and sheets still rumpled, the wet towel was removed and shampoo added. I actually walked across the parking lot and asked to see the next hotels rooms. If I had not prepaid my room I would have moved! I will likely be in Cambridge often over the next several months, but since this hotel did nothing to make me feel like they wanted repeat business, I will try a different hotel.
Front desk people were very warm and accomodating. Room was very nice, but needed some carpet replacement. Front lobby and breakfast area nice and clean, and the property is very close to other restauarants and shopping.
The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the breakfast is good, ample parking, quiet and the wifi works well, what else could you possibly need. The front desk staff are very friendly and very helpful.
This hotel was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast had a variety of options. I loved the yogurt bar. The staff was extraordinary, very pleasant and helpful. We stayed with our ringette team and the staff went out of their way to make the stay fun. The beds were very comfortable.
Great staff. Went above and beyond. Breakfast was great. Food was hot. Free coffee in lobby all the time. Pool is clean. Close to 401. Mall is close by including lots of restaurants plenty of parking.
Nicely decorated room that were clean and smelled nice. Pool and spa area were good and neat. Breakfast had the options of hot and cold with a reasonable selection. The staff were friendly and kind!! Thank you!
The Best Western Plus Cambridge Hotel was our choice for an overnight getaway and change in pace to break up the long winter. This hotel easily met our expectations with friendly service and suitably clean and well maintained facility.
The hotel is very nice, but needs a few updates. The pool area was kept clean and well-stocked with towels, At the time of our trip, I needed handicapped parking, but there was construction going on in the building where the back parking lot spots were covered over by construction vehicles and a ramp, making it quite difficult to access the back door. The staff were quick to try to amend the problem by having the construction vehicles move to the back of the property and the hotel accounted for this when I complained by giving me the night free of charge.
We stayed one night with grandchildren during March Break. Very good value for the price. Great assortment for breakfast, including scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, cereal, oatmeal yogurt and muffins. Waffle machine was not in use, but there was plenty of other items to choose from. The pool was great for the grandchildren with a large hot tub. Rooms were adequate. Check in was quick. No complaints with our stay.
Friendly front desk staff greet you using on arrival with coffee and fresh baked cookies available in the lobby. Forgot a toiletry item? No problem, the front desk staff can provide it for you. Clean, quiet rooms with comfortable beds and plenty of room so you're not crowded. Fridge, coffee maker and hairdryers in all rooms and some rooms include a microwave but there one available for use in the lobby as well.
Hotel lobby was spotless, bright, spacious. Spa has a large pool and hot tub (both with stair entry which makes them usable for anyone with mobility issues). In the spa area there is also a large screen TV and a fireplace with seating. It's so relaxing and inviting. Customer service was beyond what I expected in anything other than a resort. We left in a hurry our first morning and left a bit of a mess. We forgot to put the DO NOT DISTURB sign in the door and when we got back the cleaning staff had even gone so far as to fold the pajamas we left on the beds. Unreal customer service! The breakfast was not your typical hotel breakfast. It was hot, fresh and plentiful including eggs two ways, sausage, waffles, yogurt, fruit, breads, muffins, 4 kinds of juice, tea and coffee. The staff is always the face of a business and can really make or break a customers experience. Everyone we had contact with from the front desk to cleaning to maintenance was friendly, professional and courteous. I cannot think of anything to say where improvement is needed. I would stay here again--as a destination not just a stopover. Well done Best Western Plus Cambridge!
Online photos were deceiving, it is a little older and run down that I thought it would but but it was alright. The price though seemed high, could have paid that amount for Niagara Falls on a weekend!
Stay here regularly when visiting family in Cambridge. Easy access from Highway 401. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and we could bring our grandchildren to join us and swim in the pool.
Check in was quick and easy. No wait at all. Standard room, nothing awe inspiring. The pool was nice and bright but could always handle more seats. Our floor was really quiet that evening for sleeping. The bed was super hard! I like my mattress on the firm side but I woke up in the middle of the night with a sore body. Our toilet overflowed the next morning. While help arrived promptly, it took me longer to figure out that the buttons on the phone to call the front desk didn't work. Breakfast was standard fare- waffles, breads, eggs, beans, sausage and cereals. During our second night stay, we headed to the lobby around 9pm to grab a hot drink. The hot water carafe was empty which isn't a big deal except the hotel reception was on her cell phone having a personal conversation (sounded quite interesting with breakups and moving out). She continued the conversation while I asked for the hot water to be filled, while she filled the cups, while she asked a gentleman to put his open beer away etc) A little unprofessional. Parking lot was completely untreated after the ice storm we received 5 days earlier. It was treacherous!
The check-in process was a little long and somehow was added to the Best Western rewards program without being asked. A card showed up at my house a few weeks later to my surprise... Other than that, the breakfast was nothing special, but typical of Best Western breakfast buffets. Easy access to the highway was great.
The complete staff are always friendly and helpful! This hotel has a pool, hot tub and breakfast included! We love to stay Here whenever we are in town, its like a mini vacation. Love coming in and seeing the front staff smiling!
FRIENDLY, clean, bright. Hot (and cold) breakfast in a clean, bright, open venue. Bring a robe to walk to the pool and pee before you go - the washroom door in the pool area doesn't lock and might jam. The staff couldn't have been nicer.
We were able to relax and enjoy our stay! Fantastic staff and the hotel was very clean. Breakfast was ok, pool was a little cool but very clean. Hot tub was fantastic. Internet was great. Thank you to the staff
The hotel is nice in apperance when you arive. When I checked in the front desk clerk couldn't stop talking to a departing employee about there plans to party that night. Which is fine I just wanted to get to my room as I was in town for a grand opening of one of my stores and had to get back. The room was ok one of the accent pillows had a huge stain on it and the ice bucket smelled strongly of marijuana. The real problem was the bathroom door didnt close it was warped and all you could do was push it close and put a towel in front of it to stop it from opening back up. This was even more of a problem as my wife and daughters were with me. When we let them know of the door all we were told was that they would let maintenance know. Over all very disappointed for the 150 a night price I expected better. Could have gotten a much cheaper room else where but expected more then this from Best Western
Great Stay, hotel very clean and fresh. Staff were very friendly, courteous and professional.Rooms were clean and fresh, beds wand pillows were comfortable. I had a restful sleep. I would highly recommend this hotel to others and it would be my hotel of choice when returning to the area.
Staff was very friendly and helpful and hotel was clean. Just drain issues with the tub and pressure in the shower could have been better and the mini fridge did not get cold. It was close to all amenities.
I look forward to my visit to the Cambridge Best Western Plus every time I go to Cambridge. The staff are wonderful, great customer service, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is awesome. The pool is a great hit for the kids and the hot tub for myself. I love the ability to be able to do laundry when I need to. You won't be disappointed Thank you.
We ran into a snag in our trip and needed to kill A LOT of time, but the front desk allowed us to checkout at 230PM (not 11AM) for free! They made it so easy, and didn't come knocking at our door every 30 minutes. It was a huge lifesaver! The breakfast was your typical continental breakfast, and the location had a lot of restaurants/shopping right there. I highly recommend this hotel, and I will be staying at more Best Western locations in the future!
the make your stay always a plesant event when ever in the area it is best western for my the staff is always very helpfull and the breakfeast staff welkomms you with a smile and the make sure you happy
BW Plus perfectly situated off the 401 and Hwy 24 with clean rooms and helpful staff. Close to everything from attending wedding to shopping and Brunch the following Day. Easy Checkout as well.Staff goes out of there way to ensure you have a pleasant stay!
Fast, efficient service at the front desk for a last minute booking. Greeted with offers of tea, coffee and fresh baked cookies. A truly nice greeting coming in from the snow. The room was super clean, with comfortable beds, a fridge and microwave. A very reasonable price.
Stayed while at Cambridge Memorial hospital with elderly parents. Staff helpful and gave us a room close to elevators as requested. Received a hospital discount. No complaints. Breakfast included and quite good. Free parking.
Very nice hotel, friendly and fast service. The room was very clean and comfortable, the hotel is nice and clean the breakfast was fresh and warm. I will definitely be staying at this location again in the future.
We stayed at this hotel for the first time despite family commitments being nearby in Guelph, since the Guelph Best Western is no more. This hotel was easy to access exiting the 401. Not as easy to exit the hotel and go north, however. There is an opening in the divided highway to go north, but you take your life in your hands trying to make that left hand turn across many lanes. Staff advised to go south to the light and make a U-turn, but that is risky business too. The foyer and reception area of the hotel was one of the nicest parts, clean, airy, open, with lots of seating and the breakfast area. A very nice touch was the available apples, 24/7 coffee and warm, fresh cookies. We also loved the friendly and efficient check-in with only a small wait behind other clients. Our room had all the appearances of being lovely, and we got what we requested on the online check-in. The room was clean, had a great view... everything we have come to expect from Best Western in travelers' conveniences: coffeemaker, microwave, mini fridge, clock, suitcase rack, great internet and a flat screen TV. An in-room safe would also be nice to have. Great beds - comfortable, clean, good quality bedding... very nice. The bathroom, as well, was clean, had the toiletries we expect, and a good number of towels. We enjoyed the breakfast offerings. Even though they were the usual hot and cold, they were fresh and plentiful, and the breakfast tables were wiped clean as clients left. Appreciated! We loved the pool and hot tub area on the lower level. Lots of clean towels were available. We also saw that there was a workout room with 5 machines, I believe, a great perk for those who have come to expect it. The minuses were things that scream of needing an update. The small table by the window had no electrical outlet near it. That was so inconvenient. There wasn't even a light on the table, but a nearby floor lamp. The overall lighting in the room was poor. When looking for an outlet, we saw the maze of wiring and extensions behind the dresser... perhaps there were extra places to plug things there, but they were certainly not accessible, and did not appear safe. The bathroom fan worked on the light, and it was so loud that it howled and echoed through the small closet. The fan seemed to have no effect on clearing the shower humidity. We normally leave the bathroom light on with the door slightly ajar during the night, but this was impossible because of the noise. If it was a benefit, there was a wide enough crack on the locked and latched main door to offer light from the hallway. In the bathroom, lighting was very poor for makeup or shaving with overhead pot lights that don't shine between you and the mirror. The heating cooling system was a mystery - two separate controls on opposite walls, but no temperature indicators. The fan on the cooling control was even noisier than the bathroom fan, again echoing through the hollow closet. We couldn't sleep with it on; I don't think anyone could. Watching TV with it on would be impossible. Needless to say, the room was very warm by morning. However, it was shocking to see how much humidity had accumulated on the windows and the window ledge. The damage from this over years, was very evident. I suppose that we might be told that we could have complained to management- but these things are not "fixable" with a maintenance visit. We would like to make this our go-to hotel when in the area, but I am a little leery of the "minuses".
my husband and I stayed at this location for a Wedding, easy access off the highway, close to local attractions and venue (Cambridge Mill Pavilion). The staff was very friendly and helpful with an earlier check in requirement. Was surprised at how quiet the hotel was, great night sleep and great breakfast the next morning.
Easy access from the 401, lovely room for a reasonable price. Enjoyed the breakfast and not having to pay for parking. Handy to highway 24 with lots of shopping and places to eat. Would certainly stay here again.
The hotel provides breakfast, clean rooms, comfortable beds and good internet service. The staff is friendly and helpful. The lobby and shared areas are clean. Lots of parking. Great place to stay for business or personal use.
The room was very nice. Pool was clean. had an issue with no hot water and staff was quick to respond and the minor inconvenience was generously compensated. Free breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended.
Stayed at this hotel while visiting the African Lion Safari, which was 15 minutes away. The hotel was clean and staff were just fine, however, we booked our two rooms a couple weeks in advance and when we arrived, they were not near each other, but on different floors. This was a bit of a disappointment. The hot breakfast was OK with powdered eggs, lukewarm sausage, and a fair variety of food. We were not very impressed. The bed was clean and not too bad for as one night stay, comfy for the most part. I suppose we might stay there if we were in town again, but I would be more inclined to find something a little better.
My partner and I were in town for a wedding, and stayed here as there was a wedding rate of 135/night plus tax, which was reasonable. The hotel common areas are clean and very modern, but the hall ways and the rooms themselves seem a bit dated and tired. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious, however the bathroom needed a better cleaning. Hairs scattered in the shower/tub and some mildew on the shower curtain. Breakfast was typical of other BW, decent enough, but not amazing. The waffle station is the best thing. Staff was friendly, if I needed a room for a night I'd probably stay again.
We enjoyed our stay. The check in was immediate and the hot cookies were there waiting for us. The pool looked busy at night, but I had the place to myself in the morning. It was great. Tons of towels read and the place was spotless. The rooms are very comfortable and beds were excellent. This hotel actual had organic bath products that I could use on my sensitive skin. This has not happened to me in North America before so... wow. Good job Best Western.
best western is great. its clean affordable has nice people working here. you will feel at home when here. always better to go with a place where you know you will enjoy and not run into any problems. thanks again
We stayed at this best westren for 2 nights the breakfast was horrible serving the same thing both mornings as i work in a best western i know ours serves different stuff every day this was dissapointing as i am a big breakfast eater. The room service was also bad they did not clean anything they took our garbage and that was it didnt even give us more soap!!!! There was hardly no parking spots left every day!! And the stair way smelled so bad like pee and im pretty sure there was blood on the stair walls it was so nasty!!!!
This hotel was number one - we have been travelling all month and stayed in 5-6 hotels different hotels and this one rates 100/100 - the employee where overly helpful and kind, one of the employees even went out of her way to make my grand daughters ( she has autism) stay better - they were very friendly- this hotel was extremely clean and even the cleaning lady's were kind , stopping to take a minute to answer any questions my grand daughter had. This hotel will definitely be the one we come back to next year when we return to visit the African Lion Safari again. Thank you for being a great place to call our home away from home.
We recently stayed at the Best Western in Cambridge as a stop over from Niagara, The hotel was very clean staff very courteous and friendly assisted us with all our needs, the rooms very spacious and very clean We had full access to the spa weight room and pool the availability for these services was amazing We enjoyed a full breakfast the morning we left We will definitely be back,
Hotel was comfortable and had a great stay away from home. Breakfast was a great to have downstairs no need to go out and eat. Coffee and water in lobby 24hrs a day which was great. Used the fitness room which was perfect for my workout.
Stayed in a queen suite on the fifth floor. Clean room and a very comfortable bed. Great front desk staff helped us get a room for an early check in. Good location with easy on/off to the 401. Lots of shops and restaurants close. I recommend this hotel and will stay there again when in the area.
I really like Best Western because they are always clean and they have a pool indoors and hot tub. I hhave never had a problem and when we do go away I pick Best Western because I love to swim and the breakfast was good as well.
Booked one night in a 2 queen room and was given a room with just one double bed and an absolutely disgusting and uncomfortable pull out couch. The wall paper was falling off the walls, the bathroom door barely closed due to water damage that was never repaired. The bathtub was stained and dirty. The room itself stunk of mildew and stale cigarettes. After complaining to the front desk staff I was told this was the best room available! I obviously couldn't let my young family stay in these conditions and my husband had to spend over an hour on the phone at 11pm with the third party booking I had used to get us transferred to a different hotel. Horrible experience overall but at least the next hotel was clean and had 2 beds.
For our 8th wedding anniversary we stayed in Cambridge, Ontario at the Best WesternThe staff was incredible !! Absolutely no complaints We had the King suite which I found a little small but it was a beautiful room to say the least I just wish hotels would accommodate to their smoking guests and not just their non smoking
We stayed for five nights and had a wonderful time. The check in and check out went very well. The room was nice and clean and lots of room. We had a nice breakfast every morning they had eggs, bacon, waffles, yogurt and many good things to add to it, toast, bagels, and crumpets and a few other items. Sandi who was in charge of the breakfast area was so nice and kept everything full and organized. You felt like she had invited you to her own kitchen for breakfast. We did not use the pool but the people travelling with us did and they loved it. So many times all of us that were travelling together met in the breakfast area at night for the free tea and coffee we even ordered a pizza in and had it in the breakfast area. When I was booking the hotel by phone I had a very nice lady named Sara help me get everything I needed. She even introduced herself to me when we were there and said if we needed anything to let her know. The manager was also very nice and always making sure that everyone is happy. We will stay here for sure when we go back to Cambridge.
Nice family friendly hotel. The kids had a great time in the pool....very friendly staff and a decent continental breakfast was included. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. For a family stay, all our needs were met here.
We stayed for one night, Labour Day weekend, 2018. Check in was incredibly efficient - we had arrived mid-evening, so there was no line up and I'd say it took no more than 2 minutes to check in. I found the staff at this hotel friendly and professional. The rooms were spacious and fairly up-to-date. It could have been a great stay except for a couple of key things. First, and most importantly, it wasn't very clean. There were quite a number of hairs on the bathroom floor when we arrived (which is a real dealbreaker for me), and the chair in our room was stained. The hallways had a bit of a funky smell. Elevators were a bit grungy, etc. It's hard to feel comfortable in a hotel room when you question the cleanliness. Internet was spotty - if I was staying on business, that might be a problem. Breakfast was just OK. For the price we paid for this stay, I had expected more from this hotel. My husband and I both agreed that it's not a place we'd return.
We booked the African Lion Safari package and had our grandchildren with us. It was a good value and was ready in an envelope for quick pickup. Also a 15% Boston Pizza coupon which was nice. Pool and hot tub area was very clean and inviting. Breakfast was well done. We would stay again.
We were able to use points to get a mini-suite with queen bed. Breakfast options were extensive and warm. They were able to provide playpen for my toddler to sleep in for night. Halls were quiet. Convenient location, just off the highway.
Needed a hotel for an overnight conference event. This hotel is close to the 401 as well as lots of dining/shopping options. The lobby and room has been updated recently and was clean and modern. I stayed in a king suite which had lots of windows and separate bedroom. Didn't get a chance to use the pool/fitness area, but will on my next stay. Complimentary breakfast is always a bonus. No complaints.
Great family hotel- staff were super-friendly at front desk. We left our toddler twins' pillows behind- they had them bagged and tagged before I even called and it was no hassle to get them shipped to us. Breakfast had lots of options and room was clean and bed comfy. Very close to African Lion Safari - would stay again based on the awesome staff alone! Thank you to the team at BW Plus Cambridge.
This was the 14th hotel of our road trip. The room was clean & spacious.. It had a small fridge (no freezer section), microwave, coffee maker, iron & board, hair dryer. Bed was comfortable. The facility had a pool, fitness room, & laundry -- none of which I used. Breakfast included waffles, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, pastries, eggs, bacon, sausage. It was the most complete breakfast of any on the trip so far. Both mornings there were a lot of people in the breakfast room. The only issue we had was that the Wi-Fi wasn't very good. And for some reason, at times we had no cell service here either. That's the 1st time this has happened on this trip.
Our family of 5 stayed for 2 nights for a mini end of the summer trip. We originally booked a double room but asked if we could upgrade to a suite... the front desk was very accommodating. Check in was quick, our room was spacious and clean. The queen bed was comfortable, the pullout was typical and my kids had no problem sleeping on it.The pool and hot tub were excellent! Clean and well heated. Plenty of towels and a sitting area with a fire place and tv. After our day at African lions safari we returned to homemade cookies in the lobby, and the were delicious! Theres all day coffee and citrus water in the lobby as well. What really sold us was the complimentary breakfast. Everything was fresh, with a variety of eggs, waffle maker, breads, muffins, sausage, bacon yougurt bar and juices. We were all full before heading out for our day!You can beat the location, walking distance to restaurants, shopping and a 2 minute drive to the 401.We will be switching to the Best Western Motels for our future trips
We were in town for my brother's wedding and required a hotel stay. Stayed for 2 nights and wish I had more time to enjoy the amenities (pool and fitness centre). The recent renovations are apparent as the hotel has a modern updated but comfortable feel . My only issue with the complimentary breakfast was the yogurt machine. I prefer more options ie flavors etc and there was no nutritional information available for the selections or labels for the hot items . Overall great experience and would stay again!
Great comfortable couple of daysRoom was great, right outside the elevator but real quietAir conditioning worked well so the room was comfortable for sleepingLadies at the front desk were rel helpful with directions to where we were going
Overall a comfortable room, with average amenities. The staff was excellent. My room only contained one outlet by the door, but that seemed unique between myself and the two other people I was travelling with (both their rooms had multiple outlets).
We booked online and after numerous calls to the online number we thought it had been fixed, only to find when we arrived we were short 1 room and tickets to safari the clerk and manager fixed it all and we had a wonderful ti.e
I stay across the country for work and always am treated like family here. The staff is friendly and will do anything they can to help. Always love staying here. I usually show up last minute and they always make something available for me.great to visit such a clean and great place to stay.
Located right off Hwy 401. I stay here several times a year, often for multiplie nights. It's by far my favourite hotel. Room is always a perfect temperature and rooms are immaculately clean. Plenty of pillows and the most comfortable mattress imaginable. Staff are awesome, friendly and willing to help any way needed. Quick check in. Hot buffet breakfast included with stay and available usually before 6:30 but if you need to leave before it's available, they always have "to go" bags ready at the front desk. Fresh baked cookies are always available in the lobby along with coffee etc. Small market in the lobby for purchasing microwaveable meals, cold drinks and snacks. Several restaurants nearby for dining out or getting delivery. Washer and dryer available should you want to do your laundry, What more could you ask for from a hotel?
With the CAA discount, a night cost me just over $100. Exterior and lobby look great but room (especially bathroom) seem a little dated. Table (no desk) and plug in on wall was slightly inconvenient for computer hookup. That said, the staff was super friendly and the continental breakfast adequate. Can't beat the value if you're just looking for a night's accommodation.
I can't say enough about the quality of service and hospitality of all the staff. They all address me by name upon arrival, despite only staying occasionall when in town. I feel so much at home. The rooms are always extremely clean and bright, making each room inviting to relax and enjoy a quiet evening. I would highly recommend staying at the Best Western, reasonably priced, clean and superb service.
We just stayed 2 nights here for a wedding in Kitchener. For the most part this hotel served the purpose we needed. The staff was friendly, check in and out was easy, rooms were clean. We were 4 adults in a 2 queen room. It was very small. Our room was located in a corner which probably was the reason it was smaller. Other family members were down a hallway and had much bigger rooms. Especially the bathroom. We had a tiny one. I ended up getting ready in another room. It would have been fine for 2 people but 4 was very crowded. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The shower was not the best. The water was not that strong. No safe in the room which I would have liked. There was an iron and ironing board and a hair dryer. The lighting was terrible. One lamp at the desk and one between the beds but they had those horrible energy saving bulbs that don't give off any light. One of our other rooms had lamps with plugs in them, ours did not and it was hard to find an outlet to use without having to move some furniture. It would also be nice to have had a USB port somewhere as well. The complimentary breakfast was very good. Waffles, eggs, sausages, yogurt, pastries, breads. There is an indoor pool and hot tub but I did not use them. They looked good. Overall it was very good, just a few minor issues but nothing to stop me from staying here again.
I will start with the positive, the taff were very friendly and helpful. Check in and out were seamless. The bad. The first room we were put in had a horrible wallpaper job under the window and upon closer inspection I realized it was all lifted away from the wall and there was black mould underneath. The tub was dirty and didn't drain with the shower on. The staff switched our room right away and said they were going to deal with the issue, I hope they actually do. The second room was better. The tub in there was also dirty but it at least drained.
Conveniently located hotel. Clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Internet was fast and the TV had a lot of stations to choose from. The plumbing in our room was very slow - water accumulated in the tub when showering. Full sit-down breakfast available (we didn't take time for breakfast there). All things considered it was a good stay. Would stay there again.
My stay was supposed to be a vacation with my kids for 4 nights. On our very first night as I was laying in bed I felt something crawling on my arm and of course slapped at it and to my surprise saw the
Our room was extremely clean. The beds were very comfortable and the room looked newly redecorated. The linen and towels were clean, and we were given a lot of towels :) The staff was very friendly with check in and check out and were very welcoming. The breakfast had a good selection of items. From eggs, sausage, toast, fresh fruit, and a waffle maker. There was 24 hour coffee/tea which was a really nice touch. The pool was clean as well as the hot tub. One added amenity was a fire place and TV in the pool area near the hot tub. It was really nice to relax there while watching the kids in the pool. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again!
Hotel is in need of updates. I needed to move the bed in order to plug my phone in and have it bedside. At a minimum, bedside should have lamps with additional plug in and possibly even USB. AC blows cold right onto bed - temperature needs to be more ambient. Breakfast is included, but sausages were barely warm all four mornings and eggs were more crumbled than scrambled. No fresh fruit was offered and no breakfast potatoes.
Four ladies stayed here for two nights as we were in a Provincial cribbage tournament at the Legion in Hespeler. Breakfast was awesome; a bit crowded the first morning. Staff were very accommodating. We had a suite with a pull-out couch and the room was huge. This was the second hotel I've stayed at with laminate flooring instead of carpeting; so, it was much easier for the staff to keep clean. At first, we thought we liked the carpeting better; but when we thought of the cleanliness, we changed our mind. Everything worked as it should have. Would definitely stay here again if I were needing a room in the area. I like a soft pillow and the lady at the front desk accommodated me with a smile. The first person up usually went down and brought coffee/tea for the rest - the girl in the breakfast room provided a tray. How nice.
We took our two daughters here for two nights. Booked the African lion safari package. Upon arrival the girls were allowed to pick a toy which made their day! Room was clean, had a mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker and a microwave. The location is excellent right off the 401 and close to a Walmart and plenty of dinner options. Pool was clean, cold! But clean! Hot tub was good as well. Breakfast was fine.
This hotel has the friendliest, most helpful staff and the best service! Michael, the General Manager goes above and beyond to ensure everything is as it should be, guests have everything they need and are enjoying their stay. Our room was nicely decorated, and kept spotlessly clean. The breakfast was delicious with an impressive selection of hot and cold options. Coffee was available in the lobby at all times and a plate of homemade cookies replenished daily. Definitely exceeded our expectations!
We stayed here for two nights to visit family . We had a family emergency and had to miss our first night of 3 we had booked . Tried to cancel online in a hurry , couldn't . When we explained our situation , the manager was willing to remove the charge for the lost night. We needed that kindness at that moment . The other staff was friendly, polite and very efficient . The hotel is close to 401 , and many shops , and restaurants , and points of interest . There is ample parking , the hotel exterior is very clean . The lobby is clean and well maintained . The pool is very nice . There is a hot tub available . Our room was very clean , well appointed . The internet is fast and works well with no stoppages on our visit . The breakfast area was very busy and noisy when we were there because of a baseball tournament and we did have some noise in the morning , no fault of the hotel but of the adults with the teams . We had a great stay and will stay here again when in the area .
This hotel was our staging point for a wedding. My wife and I, along with several other wedding guests, stayed there for two days. This hotel is very close to the 401 and is very well located to most Cambridge points of interest. It has a clean exterior and ample parking. There are a number of restaurants close by. The lobby was clean, and the staff were helpful. Our room was clean and well equipped except for the lack of a microwave. There were insufficient power outlets in the room, unfortunately. Internet was fast The big problem here was the totally inadequate size of the breakfast room. With an advertised included breakfast, there needs to be proper capacity to serve guests in a reasonable, timely manner. This was not the case. The room was FAR too small!! When we checked in, I was very surprised by the size of the room, and commented to my wife that breakfast would be a problem. Saturday we arrived with three friends who were staying in the hotel, we were all confronted with a mob of people, no available space and no access to food, period. Sunday was no better. We ended up going to the local Tim Horton's instead. Based on my travel experience, this is a rare problem, but highly annoying and completely avoidable. I cannot fault the staff, since they can only work with what they are given. Management has completely dropped the ball here. Given the proximity of other good hotels within 200 metres of this one, I would hesitate to stay here again without a serious breakfast room overhaul!!
Bed was comfortable great shower head. Good options at breakfast including fruit waffles bagels bread non-dairy creamer and others. Staff were professional with speedy check in and out. Room was quiet despite 401 being close by.
Had a one night stay. The hotel overall was satisfactory , we were disappointed the vending machine on our floor didn't have much in it. We were also unhappy with the large group of people staying on our floor. They kept us up at night with loud talking and doors slamming.
Very clean rooms and nice comfortable beds with many pillows! The pool and hot tub provided a wonderful retreat. The fitness center is well-equipped. The hot breakfast is delicious--plenty of items to choose from!
We got there before check in time and rooms were not ready. That was no problem so we waited. A whole line of people started coming in and the vast majority of them got a room. We started to get annoyed so the staff said she was going to switch us into a room that was ready but she never did. She just kept waiting on others. Finally got back in line AGAIN and by that time our room was ready but this full half hour late after check in. My sons were very much looking forward to the pool and hot tub but the pool was cold and the hot tub was closed. They were cold from the pool so they went to have hot showers and got their towels very wet. We went to the desk to ask for more towels and were told they would bring them up to our room. The towels never arrived. On top of this the internet was terrible, we could barely watch a specific event on our laptops that we really wanted to see. Overall, a very disappointing stay.
Clean and tidy hotel with a generous space in the corner suite. Very comfortable for business visit. Parking is a little tight in the back, breakfast buffet has waffles and fresh juice. Staff were friendly at check-in and checkout. I didn't use the pool, but it looked very inviting.
wonderful experience, room clean, lobby spacious, pool view from lobby great, elevator quickly got me to and from room. breakfast meal could have been more options, I would have liked to see sausage patties, not just sausage links.
I took my Mother to the Cambridge Best Western Plus Because the basement in her house flooded. It took 2 Months to get the house ready to move back in. During that time the manager, front desk and cleaning staff were all very accommodating and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a friendly, clean and convenient hotel to rest their weary head.
Hotel shares address so missed turn to entrance. There is not signage directing you to front door. Driveway to hotel is on a boulevard, so you can not turn right towards Hwy 401. Hotel room not cleaned well. Breakfast was edible. Internet was terrible.
We had an overall wonderful stay at the Best Western Cambridge. We were there for a sporting event. The hotel provided us with a private hall so that all team members could gather for a get together....at no charge. Diane, front desk, made our stay that much more enjoyable with her pleasant personality and easy going demeanor. A wonderful hotel...we will be back
It was a 45 min wait to get my room because it wasn't cleaned yet when I got there at 3pm. WIFI didn't work which is a problem when you are preparing for a tech conference. No towels in the pool area is odd.
We made arrangements to stay at this hotel for one night. Flying out early it was a pretty good location for us. The lobby is very nice, decent snack bar, for any little thing you might like to munch on or even a frozen meal. Free coffee tea in the lobby 24 hours, apples, to munch on. Check in was smooth and efficient. The room was fairly nice, good firm bed, with no noise from the other guests to speak of. We went out for dinner, which I will review another day, but there is lots in the area to keep you amused, shopping dining, just a fairly busy area. Upon returning after dinner, the smell of the most delicious cookies waffled in the front lobby. Yes they baked cookies for us and were put out for all to enjoy. Best cookies ever. Nice touch. I should mention they allowed us to park there for a week while we were away, and told us to park up front so they could keep an eye on our car. Nice, really nice. All and all just a great stay, first time at a Best Western, good impressions all the way around. I did read another traveller say about the pool and they should have a 9 oclock adult swim and I agree .
Decent hotel. Very nice lobby. Nice rooms. Decent price. Good parking. .. our issues. 1). Pool & hot tub is open until 11pm. We went and were excited & looking forward to it .. relaxing. After 9pm it should be Adults only. It was full of loud screaming kids. At 10pm!!? ... 2) the lights over the hot tub are super bright. Making relaxing not possible. ... 3) issues get pool towels. Had to go up & down the stairs a couple times to the front desk to get some. .. 4). Relaxing & sleeping in room ... wasn't the possible. People were slamming their doors all night. From 4am until 4:45 I counted 11 times. (Loud ! Might as well be your own door). All through the night, woke to people running, talking, vacuuming, etc .. got no sleep. Doors need to be adjusted not too slam & better hall acoustics. .. I hated it !! The front desk said I'd get points !! “Big deal”. I'd rather stay in motel from now on with no halls !!
It was just, alright. There wasn't anything that was completely terrible but it wasn't anything that is really great either. It's hard to come across a good hotel in the waterloo region. The bed is average comfy, a little firm for my liking but you can't please everyone when it comes to that aspect. The sheets can do for replacement as I find they have pilled a little and become scratchy. The air unit sounds like a 747 jet engine and the bathroom taps and faucets were scummy. It wouldn't hurt for them to be cleaned with a little CLR or at least be wiped further than the top edge of things. The sides matter too, guys. There was also calcium build up on the sides of the tub as if it hadn't been cleaned out with a cleaner or anything. Overall, I will stay again only because it's clean for the most part and one of the better hotels around here.
We had a one night stay but will go back for sure The hotel was in walking distance to a great mall and right across the street from many great outlets and restaurants.it had a good pool and great free breakfast
I stay here regularly. The staff are always happy to see all of the guests, and it's easy to see why this place is always busy. The accommodations are quite comfy, and always impeccably clean. Standard breakfast offered every morning. Just an all around great place to stay. Great location also, lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance also.
We had a great time! We are from Cambridge but wanted a night away with a pool for our family and cousins. We had a great time swimming, ordered pizza from a local place and ate in the lobby as a family at the wonderful dining area they have that is available to everyone to use. In the morning we enjoyed a Fabulous breakfast for free and there was a great selection of Eggs, cereal, juice as well as a waffle maker, and lots of breads and jams! Then we went for a last min swim before our long 10 minute drive home! We will be back! Our kids had soooo much fun!
Stayed here for one night with my son's basketball team. The hotel was perfect for this kind of stay. Clean, spacious rooms and washrooms, nice pool for the kids to play, very well located, and the best was the included breakfast which was self-serve so we didn't have to wait. Breakfast included: eggs, toast, breakfast sausages, waffles, oatmeal, bagels, cereal, fruit, coffee, juice... perfect! Staff was friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back.
As a large extended family we gathered to celebrate the life of our mother/grandmother/great grandmother. We were given the funeral rate and were granted our several requests. We especially appreciated the hotel giving us a large meeting room for a meal and evening gathering. Lots of funeral planning and sharing of memories happened there. Thank You!
Front desk staff were really friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our first room but they happily switched us to a new room. Everything was clean, rooms were nice and the bed was decent. I would stay here again :)
Front desk service was great. Rooms were nice and clean. Nice pools for the kids. Our team was given a banquet room to use for our pot luck dinner and to give the parents a place to hang out without asking for one and no charge! It was a huge benefit to have for the weekend.
So clean, nice staff, went out of their way to accomadatebus and let us leave our car there after checkout for a few hours. The breakfast is an actual breakfast with make your own waffles, eggs, sausage. Employee is always cleaning, topping it up and helping you. 24 hr a day free coffee and tea.
Great hotel, our preferred location when we come to Cambridge. The cookies in the lobby are a nice touch. The breakfast was excellent, one of the best we have seen. Very Family friendly. Staff are well informed about the area and were able to direct us to local attractions and services.
Rooms are clean and quiet. Breakfast is included - good choice and well stocked. Pool and hot tub are very clean and air is heated - so very enjoyable! Free cookies and tea/coffee in the lobby available always. Great experience! It shows that people taking care of this hotel care!
Hi speed internet connection was below standard. The rest of the amenities and service were very good to excellent. Location is convenient. Breakfast was substantial. Fortunately, the halls were quiet allowing for an undisturbed sleep.
Our hockey team was here for 2 nights and were given a place to gather to not disrupt other guests. It was great. You can't beat the location Shopping, and food everywhere. There are many arena's in the area as well even in the mall.
This stay was for a much needed R & R. Would have been better if I had someone to share this with! It was nice to be close to the major highway (401). A nice surprise to see a container with water and lemons to have a refreshing drink. Apples beside that too. Always hot coffee/hot water available in the lobby. Large hot tub even set up to watch tv. Only could not hear it over the jets. Breakfast was a good way to start my day as I do not usually eat much in morning. Muffins - yummy~
We always enjoy staying here. Excellent staff, and always leaves us relaxed for the next day. I have stayed at this hotel many times over the year. With all of the recent upgrades it is a safe and relaxing spot. 2-5 minutes to shopping, dining and just off the 401 highway.
We booked a room with 2 queen size beds for 3 days. We booked over the phone and if your a CAA member you get a discount. Check in was fast and friendly. Parking is free. And breakfast is free. There is no room service. The hotel has a pool and fitness centre which is open 24 hours and on Lower Lever. Also a laundry mat ( washer and dryer)to do your laundry but you have to have change. The room was clean. We had a Kerig coffee machine, fridge and microwave. My one suggestion is the room could use one more floor lamp. There is one floor lamp and one end table lamp. I like more lighting. It was too dim. Need cups in the washroom for brushing your teeth. Although they have cups with the ice bucket you can use. No ice machine on our floor #3. Lots of towels and a extra large bathroom counter with single sink. It could use an extra one. They also could use a vanity mirror. Hairdryer is provided. Don't like the low flow toilets. Shower/ bathtub was fine. A shower bar and spot to put your stuff. Beds are comfortable with lots of pillows. Wifi is free and there is an informational book and an app they suggest to use with nearby restaurants which Cambridge has lots of. If your into antiques visit the Southworks Antiques on 73 Water Street N. It's free to the public. There is an iron and ironing board in the closet. No room safe. Breakfast is located by the front lobby. From 7-10 weekends and 6:30-9:30 weekdays. And it consists of scrambled eggs and sausages, make your own waffles, muffins, bagels, breads, boiled eggs, cereal, create your own oatmeal, yogurt machine, coffee, tea, juice. Lots of seating. They also sell snacks, ice cream, TV dinners for your microwave by the lobby and toiletries. If you don't want the room cleaned you leave a Do not disturb on your door. If no sign then they will clean it. We didn't have a sign in our room so we got one from the front desk. We got emails from a representative from the hotel asking if we were enjoying our stay and if were having any problems please let them know. This hotel is a great location. Your close to the Cambridge Centre Mall. Good hotel for over night stay. Right off the 401. I recommend this hotel.
Great customer service Clean rooms If something is not right or needed staff address it right away Very friendly and great with kids including kids with disabilities Awesome breakfast Love Cambridge Best Western we have stayed for many years and know and trust the staff at BW plus Cambridge Family oriented atmosphere
I love staying at this hotel. It feels like a home away from home. Fresh baked cookies on arrival is a nice touch. Staff always friendly and helpful. Beds are extremely comfortable and rooms are clean and spacious.
This is one of the nicest hotels to stay at, clean and modern, fabulous staff, most of the staff have been there a longtime, some 15 years. Most of the regular staff have been there many years. I have been staying there for more than 15 years, They have always treated me well
Very friendly staff. Staff went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. Good breakfast and always fresh. Staff that looked after the breakfast were always checking to make sure there was always lots there. Pool and Hot tube very clean.
The hotel arranged for an early check as we had to be at a wedding at 3:00 PM. They went out of their way as we arrived at 1:30. They told us that our room was not ready yet, it had not been cleaned and then arranged for us to use another room which had been cleaned. No fuss, no additional charges, just polite and honest people. The breakfast buffet was hot, tasty and plentiful and the staff were very polite and made sure we were OK and that we had everything we needed.
All staff were EXCELLENT. They went out of their way to make things the best possible. The hospitality room allowed us to have a potluck and a place to be together as a team. They even opened breakfast early so that the hockey team could eat before they went to very early morning game. The head of the breakfast service was lovely.
Very accommodating and friendly staff. Room was clean and well decorated. Comfort is met at this hotel. Its always a pleasure staying at this hotel. Only wish they had a restaurant within the hotel. Other than that, its also a convenient location and off the highway.
We stay at this hotel on a regular basis and have found it to be extremely accommodating. Staff are excellent, place is always clean and the staff will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Nice accommodations and close to 401 hwy.
Had a group of boys on a tournament weekend. Thoroughly enjoy our stay. Pool was clean and had a large screen TV so we could be entertained while we monitored their behavior. Staff were friendly and helpful.
First stay, the room I was given was very humid when I first walked in and worse after I took a hot steamy shower. I kept the room door ajar with the ice bucket to allow the humidity to leave the room into the hallway. That same stay I was on a floor that turned into a loud party between 12 am and 3 am I'm assuming because people had just returned from a wedding and weren't ready to stop the partying. I thought about complaining to the front desk but figured it would only stop the noise temporarily so I just put up with the interrupted sleep for the night. At least the second night I got a good sleep. The second stay was much better. The room I stayed in was not humid and there were no interruptions by other guests in the middle of the night. Hotel has free parking and serves a free breakfast with both hot and cold options. Free coffee all day long too.
The hotel is nice, staff is very friendly and the included breakfast is good. Hotel is close to everything, restaurants, movie theatres, etc. Only negative thing is that the wifi was slow and often down when I was there.
great stay - clean room and excellent service - could improve the selection of breakfast items but otherwise very good - friendly service rooms were clean - staff very helpful - good location to town -
great place and even helped out booking rooms for christmas and made it that all family on same floor and enjoyed breakfast immensely and fitness room and employees gave ideas for shopping as well and to eat
Had a great stay, staff were helpful and courteous. Room was clean. made use of the gym- machines were a bit dated and loud but serviceable, pool looked great but ran out of time to test it out. No complaints.
We were driving through Cambridge late at night and we decided to stop over for a good night rest before heading home. We know that Bedt Western has double points reward this month so chose to stay in this hotel. The staff attended to us was friendly and patience with as it was past midnight when we arrived.
Good value great staff location was ok buffet breakfast included nice remodel did mot use the pool but it looked nice enough. We've stayed there a number of times and have never had a problem only issue is that when people open and close the room doors they are extremely loud Parking was fine hotel was very clean
Attractive hotel convenient to the nearby 401 freeway. Numerous dining and shopping options within a five-minute drive. Toronto and Niagara Falls each about an hour's drive away.Courteous, attentive, and professional staff and management. Would definitely recommend.
Was welcomed by Donna at reception, she was both friendly and professional. We needed a last minute room, she found us one with a single queen. The lobby looked tidy and organized plus food stations were present where I learned there was a breakfast included with the stay. We also observed there was a pool but we did not have time to go swimming so I never looked closely at it. I wish to make it clear that although we had some concerns written below I never mentioned them to staff to allow them to rectify them for the remainder of our stay. I base my excellent reviews on professionalism and the perception that staff would jump on my concerns right away if they were aware. The room itself was clean and functional, and supplied with the basics like TV, Wi-Fi (with good strength), clothes iron & hairdryer. Found the HVAC quieter than average which is a very big plus for me as both my wife and I are poor sleepers. Lighting as in pretty much any hotel around the country is weak at best. As usual there was also a coffee maker (Kurig style) but found it a little gross that open but possibly unused tea and condiment bags were left in the coffee station by room staff at our arrival. The bed was pretty badly worn too, with what felt like a huge dip in the middle (although my wife did also mention it, I often complain about beds due to very bad back). I commented on this during checkout and the staff seemed to take my comment very seriously. Common buffet style breakfast was decent, not the best selection but not the worst but considering not many were offering the free breakfast I certainly won't complain. I did not see a waffle making station but suspect it may have been broken because there were waffle making instructions taped to the wall with an open spot on the counter. Breakfast staff seemed very helpful when someone asked them for something. In general we were very content with our stay and with the friendliness of the staff and services offered vs price would have no concerns returning.
Pleasantly surprised by this hotel on our first visit. All staff are so friendly and pleasant, they do not fail to say hello when they see you. Hotel is very nice with very quiet rooms and really comfortable beds. Morning breakfast is more or less standard fare, but plenty of choices for any palate. When we return to the area, we will definitely return to this Best Western.
We had an Excellent Sleep and stay. The Staff are very Friendly at check in and welcoming. The rooms are very clean and all appliances are in working order. They had a great selection of hot breakfast food items and there was many healthy food options on the breakfast display.
We were greeted by friendly staff at check-in who invited us to enjoy the complimentary hot breakfast in the morning. I noticed coffee and tea service in the lobby, as well as what appeared to be large, fresh-baked cookies. Truthfully, they had me at the cookies! The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, we didn't have time the next morning to enjoy breakfast there, but judging by the throng of people there, it looked very popular!
I find the Best Western Group excellent value. This one in Cambridge was very nice and the swimming pool lovely and the staff very obliging. They accommodated my son who has autism at breakfast time when he didnt like the hot meat on offer they provided ham for him. Would have no hesitation in recommended it.
Older hotel which shows its wear in its room. The pool and hot tub were very nice. The breakfast was okay but not the best we have had. Some of the staff were great and some less so. Issue with the padded head board falling on our heads in the middle of the 2nd night so we were given that night for free. Maintenance went out of their way to help us and was the bright light in the hotel service.
Friendly and welcoming staff! Shortly after checking-in we received a text message making sure that everything was up to par and met / exceeded our expectations. Our room was clean and bathroom was modern and looked recently updated. We required a cot to accommodate our teenage son and this was delivered to our room shortly after our arrival. Loved the availability of apples and hot beverages 24/7. Breakfast was good and well stocked but breakfast area was a bit crowded with two wedding parties having fully booked the hotel. All-in-all a pretty good experience!
We're aware that Best Wester is undergoing a re-branding and with the new signage, etc certain properties are getting renovated and freshened up. This particular property in Cambridge hasn't had this happen apparently, at least not the first floor room we had this weekend (though it looks like the front lobby and breakfast area may have been done, not sure). But regardless of the lack of updating, one thing this Best Western can provide is great customer service! Let me share our experience.... We arrived late afternoon, late for a wedding so while I waited in the car my wife went to our room to change after checking in. About an hour later, while at the wedding, I received a text message from "Catherine" at Best Western, enquiring whether our room was to our satisfaction. It was then that my wife first mentioned that actually no, she was disappointed that it smelled 'musty" or smoky (we request non-smoking rooms when we travel). So I passed this on to Catherine in a text reply, asking if someone could go into the room and turn on the air conditioner to air it out. She assured me that maintenance would address the problem immediately by placing an air purifier in the room while we were away. Later that night when we returned, the air quality was improved. The room furnishings were still dated and a bit tired looking but the mattress and bedding were great and we enjoyed a comfortable night's sleep. The next day, one our way home, we received another text message from Catherine asking about our stay. It was definitely an interesting touch, checking in on us both when we arrived and after our stay, reflecting the use of the new technology by the property. And in our case, it changed our experience from disappointment to satisfaction. We have had great customer service at many hotels before but this one took it to a new level!
Stayed at this property for our second or third time in the last couple of years, Did a great job of renovation the front lobby. A larger continental breakfast area and a more defined check in/check out front desk. Also, there is sitting area with vending machines and a computer station. I think some of the rooms have been upgraded, but not sure. I think our room has been upgraded with paint, newer furniture in the bedroom area and the sitting area. Strongly suggest reservations far in advance to avoid disappointment of not staying there.
I stayed here for one week and overall was very pleased with everything. The room and bed were very comfortable. The room itself could use a bit of TLC but I feel I got great value for what I paid. The staff were great and the free breakfast in the morning was actually a hot breakfast with a good variety. Linda, the lady I met at the front desk when I arrived was a rock star and is very attentive. An excellent person to greet guests. I think that this is the third time that I have stayed here and I will stay again.
Went to a wedding in Cambridge Ontario and decide to spend the night at the Best Western and had a very restful night sleep. The bed was amazing the room very nicely updated as well as spotless. The girl at the check in desk was very friendly at told us what all the hotel had to offer. We were able to go down and make ate at take to our room. Breakfast was great... would very much stay here again. They also have a pool....
Stayed here during my sister in law's wedding. Staff was excellent, polite and very accomdating! Beds were comfy, rooms were very clean. The only downside was the toliets, the flush was weak and took 2-3 flushes to get your "stuff" down, and with a room shared with 4 people, it was just time consuming for getting ready.
A great hotel. Clean, modern and close to shopping, gas, restaurants etc. Linda, the check in clerk was a great help. The Chinese Restaurant next door was a good spot to eat. Very convenient. We needed gas and the gas bar was next door as well.
Great hotel but they could do better with breakfast. The internet did not work during our stay. The new conference facility has much improved lighting on the lower level. The pool area updates are lovely compared to the decor last year.
Overall very good experience, Room was clean including a washroom that looked recently renovated. Air coniditioning system was Noisy. Good staff and complete breakfast. Price was good I would recommend this hotel
Traveled for 3 and 1/2 hours and arrived late. The staff greeted me with a smile and said they had been expecting me. The staff and amenities made my stay very pleasant. Bed was very comfy. Breakfast was well presented, fresh and tasty.
The hotel is a nice ambience. The lobby is big and welcoming. Rooms furnitures are nice and I was surprised to find a fridge in the room. The bed was very comfortable and all the amenities functioned probably. Staff are very poite and helpful. They make you feel at home. Overall, a very nice and comfortable place to stay.
We stayed in all three Best Westerns in the Cambridge, Kitchener and Galt, Ontario area over the past 3 months and found them all to be clean, well staffed, and all three provided the compassionate rate while we were visiting our daughter in hospital.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly. Our bed was a little disappointing but we slept well regardless. Breakfast was good. Lots of tables. It would have been nice to have more fruit and fruit toppings for the waffles. My only complaint is that I wish they would have cleaned our room after the first night. Overall great place for the price. We would return again if in the area.
the first couple of nights i was being bit by bugs, then they moved me from a king size to a single bed off of the lobby which was noisey and i couldnt sleep, i was there for business... then they moved me to another room and that room the air conditioner didnt work and it was still a single bed room and i originally had a king size bed room
We stayed here for four nights and found it to be a good alternative to nearby higher priced hotels. The room was a little smaller than the competition, and the property seems a bit dated, but our stay included breakfast daily, which the competition does not. Service was good. We had a billing problem at check-out, but the lady at the desk took care of it for us quickly. We will likely return.
We booked a stay here that included tickets to African Lion Safari. The hotel was great; rooms were quiet, pool was well maintained, and breakfast had a great selection including gluten free items. The location was great as there was a plaza across the road with restaurants and stores. It was also only like a 10 minute drive to African Lion Safari. We would for sure stay again.
We had a very enjoyable stay. (2 Adults,2 kids under 3) We used the very clean pool & hot tub facilities and the breakfast bar was over the top. Added small perks in the lobby was the unlimited coffeebar, and the fruit bowl & the fresh baked cookies greeting you. Staff was exceptional. Outside smokers should be advised to be further away in a designated area as cigar & cigarette smoked billowed into the lobby area.
Great hotel for families. Friendly service. Great value. Stayed at hotel for one night, after spending day at African Lion Safari. Visit St. Jacob's Market (20 minute drive) the following day, before heading home. Would definitely stay at hotel again.
Hotel was very clean, free hot breakfast was fantastic, free in room internet was great and the free 24 hour coffee was a bonus. staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic. Very great location, easy to find close to a shopping centre. Highly recommended we will stay there again
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very welcoming. Convenient location for going to African Lion Safari. Hotel even sells tickets for it at a discounted price. Great stay! Would definitely recommend.
during out last 2 stays at this Best Western, they were renovating the lobby/breakfast area. They have done a great job!! Now it's time to update the rooms somewhat. Tub had rust marks along the side, overall appearance seems dated after seeing a great entrance area. Maybe get the hot tub hot......yes, they were getting outside help when we were leaving - would have been nice earlier in our stay.
I'll start by saying that the company I work for has discounts for their employees while here in Cambridge, this discount only applies to queen size beds and to my disappointment they only had 1 king left...This great lady at the front desk while I had her on the phone made a great decision by letting me get this room for 1 week and change to a queen the next week. What a great staff to do this for me... The room I stayed in was very very clean, this whole hotel was clean. The breakfast in the morning is very well, 3 styles of scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, toast, waffles etc etc...well worth the stay. I never made it in the pool but I did go down and look at it and hot tub and both were in very good shape, very clean. Rooms have microwave, Keurig coffee maker and fridge with a 32" TV, very comfortable King bed...The sheets were so tightly tucked in I had a hard time getting under the sheets...LOL... I found the staff here were very very polite to not only myself but to others. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay...
Chose this hotel because if it's proximity to our training and because it had a hot tub for our sore muscles after 10 hour training...we were here 5 nights and although we asked before we arrived and every day we were at the hotel the hot tub was cold!!! They gave us a $50 credit off my $900 bill with a promise the manager would call to discuss the bill on Monday and we haven't heard from them... the rooms were clean and the breakfast good, but that was also available next door too. Not happy and expected more for this money
This was one of the best hotels I've visited. The staff was extremely helpful and caring. The made us feel welcomed and answered all questions we had. They are very professional. I would be returning. My kids were very happy and had a great time.
Very happy with the service and I would recommend it to others. The agent Linda was very helpful and I would just like to send a Kudos for that agent. Very knowledgeable and made us felt welcome from the start. Thank you for the great hospitality.
Dated middle of the road 3 star just off the 401. Shopping park just across the road and mall down the street. Self service breakfast is ok but Id recommend the Tim Hortons just down the street. Gym is ok. No weights though and a handleful of machines. Parking on site is free and so is the wifi which is good. Rooms are quiet and comfy but walls can be thin on some floors Ive been told by other guests.
this was the best stay ever. great beds, breakfast! great pool, hottub, just great overall!! would recommend everyone to visit a best western plus, has all the amenities you could want on a stay the kids had a great time in the pool and hottub, Tammy and Daniel Royka and Family
Very clean and well decorated hotel. Rooms were spacious and beds super comfortable. A wonderful hot breakfast was included with our stay. This helped us to get on with our day plans without delay. The staff was exceptional and very friendly. We will be using this location again!
The hotel was clean, but definitely dated. Staff were friendly. Hotel is well located. We did the safari and st Jacobs market. So it was snack dab in the middle. Wasn't a fan of all the staff smoking right st the back door.
Stayed overnight to visit family and do some kayaking .Breakfast was awesome with an assortment of hot and cold foods to choice from.rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable ..will stay again next time in town
The customer service in this hotel was top notch! The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, very comfortable temperature, and the beds were very comfortable as well! Very welcoming staff throughout our entire stay!
Family of 4, two kids ages 6 & 9 We stayed at this Best Western as a package deal to visit the African Lion Safari. From check-in to check-out the hotel staff was friendly and always willing to help. The pool was clean and great for the kids to burn off some energy, while the hot tub was perfect to relax after a long day of walking. Linda, at the front desk was ABSOLUTELY my go-to gal for the evening. She helped with getting some plates for supper, as well as, preventing an unnecessary trip to the nearby Walmart for when those late night ice cream cravings hit. She informed me that the hotel also carries a selection of ice cream (I had no idea). The following morning we had a delicious breakfast with a verity of choices like; eggs, bacon, sausage, 3 or 4 different cereals, milk (both 2% & skim), and a wonderful assortment of bread based breakfast items. My favourite would likely be the waffle maker that actually puts the BW logo into your waffles. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and I can say we will certainly be staying here again.
Our stay at this best western plus was great. The staff was awesome. The room clean and comfortable .The pool area was clean and well kept. The amenities were user friendly. We would definitely return to this hotel the next time we are in Cambridge.
We didn't book a room but when we walked in, we had fast friendly service. The room was clean, the pool was big and heated ( hot tub was relaxing), the breakfast was average. We had an excellent stay.
Great service, location and staff. Stayed before and has been updated since...great job. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has business in the area or are just passing through. Another great BW property.
Staying in this hotel was the best surprise of this trip! From the outside the hotel looks older but it's clear some money husband spend on updating me inside! We walked into a very modern Lobby, clean and welcoming. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. We arrived in our room everything was in impeccable condition, clean, tidy, very comfortable. The pool was the same! We enjoyed hot tub and the pool, even enjoyed watching the baseball game while we swam! The breakfast was pretty standard. And hot and cold items including sausages, ham and eggs, and waffles, as well as cereal and other typical breakfast items. They even offered gluten free rice crispies which was a great surprise for me (a celiac). This was a great family-friendly hotel!
The staff was amazing (Linda) in particular. She was so welcoming. She even offered my daughters cookies and hot chocolate. The service was fantastic, they turned a bad day into a great night. The suite was modern, comfortable and clean. I slept like a baby.
The hotel was close to the African Lion Safari. The staff was excellent and very friendly. Good customer service. The breakfast was good. Nice family friendly place and saw lot of other families too during the breakfast time. I guess they were all going to the Lion Safari too. The beds were comfortable to sleep. The price was reasonable. Overall I have no complains.
Very clean hotel, helpful land happy staff. Great value with the package we chose. Area has lots of shopping and many restaurants. The pool area was clean and well supplied with towels. Room was well cleaned and nicely arranged.
We were on holidays for 3 weeks and for at least 21 days we stayed at Best Western hotels. It is a great hotel- great rooms and breakfast for the price we had to pay. We enjoyed the great pool as well! Overall; a great stay and we will be back for sure!!
The Best Western Cambridge This is by far the friendliest hotel I had the pleaser of staying. We checked in the hotel and were told that our room was ready but when we got up in our room the bed was not made and had no sheets or covers. I told the ladies at the front desk and they bent over backwards to correct the problem. The even text me twice to make sure that the bed was made and everything was in order… they really care. The ladies looking after the reception as well as the ladies serving the breakfast were the nicest people you would want to meet. The place was clean and the breakfast counter was always replenished with fresh food. I know we will stay there again. Keep it up everyone.
My Wife and I took 3 of the Grandkids and their parents here for 2 nights to do the African Lion Safari. There was some confusion on pricing but it was straightened out. We enjoyed the pool and breakfast while we were there. I asked for the DMF (destination marketing fee) to be removed at checkout and it was done without having to argue about it like some hotels in Niagara Falls that refuse to remove a voluntary charge.
The hotel was very clean and the staff were so friendly and helpful! Unfortunately we stayed the same weekend as a little league baseball team was, who took over the pool area without proper supervision (coaches and parents were out drinking) and I wished someone would have checked on the area and tried to make the area a little more enjoyable for everyone. Same group visibly drank in halls, but hotel handled those issues well! Definitely would come back, just not the same weekend as a baseball tournament!
We had a great time. Hotel was close to the African Loin Safari and the pool was great. A little noise at night with all the people slamming their room doors. Breakfast was ok. I found that there was not enough food for the amount of people that were there. I was very happy about the pool it was a great place to end your day.
I stay about 3 nights a month at the Cambridge BW. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating. They are genuinely happy to see you return each time. The employees have adopted Michael's culture. Not sure of his title but his example is emulated by other staff. Good to see.
First off it's true what they say about "Linda" at the front desk. She is great when my son mentioned he finished grade 4 and this was his reward for doing this she made a big deal for him and got us an upgrade in room and then told him to come back in a few minutes as she would baked him some cookies. It made his day. Now about the hotel, some of the rooms have a golf theme motif (different). If your a lite sleeper than the hotel being near a main road may be a problem (ask for a room opposite ). The lobby has been redone and is modern it incorporates the breakfast room. Get done early to avoid the hungry hordes on the weekend . The pool is "great" according to my son. The elevator is terrible slow it's almost better to take the stairs (only really bad thing to say ). Overall it was a pleasant stay for a best western hotel.
I stayed at many hotels. For the value, I always stay at this hotel each and every time.It is clean and has hot breakfast bar in morning which works great for me. The start at 630am and I am early riser, nothing like getting up, walking down to breakfast bar. Grab coffee and hot food while I am reading paper or watching news.
from the moment you enter and greet the staff until you check out you are well taken care of. every amenity is offered to you and you are not left wanting for anything. i will defiantly go back in a heart beat
The location was good, close to the highway. The rooms weren't super fancy but they were nice and clean, good amount of space. The bathroom was nice to get ready in, big long mirror (could use a bit more light). Staff were friendly.
I can't leave a good enough review for this hotel and staff. From the moment we checked in until the checkout everyone was extremely nice and resourceful. The room was very clean and the shower's water pressure was above my expectation for a hotel. The complimentary breakfast was good and never left hungry. If ever visiting this area again, I wouldn't think twice about booking here.
Many visits to Cambridge & always return to this location of the Best Western on Hespler Rd. We highly recommend this hotel. This hotel is very clean, it has been updated & is still in the process of improvements, all staff are friendly & courteous, a convenient location & very economical.
1st time staying here. Bed was comfortable as were the pillows. Air conditioner was a little loud than we are use to but still slept no problem. Friendly staff and great location just off the 401. We would stay here again no question.
Stayed at this hotel 07/03 and 07/04/17, one of our best stays ever. Hotel is very comfortable, pool is great and breakfast is the best, with many choices. The hotel staff made everything even better, knowing they really care about your comfort. Linda especially was very kind and helpful.
The new lobby looks great. There was a lot of room to sit for breakfast and the food was excellent. We had a lot of choice. The rooms were excellent. The overall experience was great. Looking forward to staying here again.
Stayed a night over the long weekend. Location easy to find off 401, with plenty of parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was great, a/c ok!, bathroom ok! plenty of towels. Only issue is shower water pressure was too low. 24 hr coffee in lobby. Breakfast was ok, does the job! Many places to eat close to hotel. We would stay again if passing through. Would recommend to others.
The purpose of this trip was to visit African Lion Safari. From the time I called to book my reservation, my experience was quite pleasant. The room was very clean, even smelled clean. Beds were comfy. The only con was the breakfast: really long line up for waffle station and the rest of the breakfast items weren't very good.
Good place, included breakfast is good with the exception of the egg, they are dehydrated and taste less. my room fridge did not cool enough so my ice cream melted. Clean place, clean pool good parking lot quiet area very good bed. The have LG TV but the put the LED power saving mode so you don't get the brilliant colors of vivid setting plus the control does not allow to change any settings on the TV. for the shower there not much water pressure, just enough to get by.
We choose this hotel by wi-fi from Tim Horton in Grimsby, because it had a pool and it was a very hot and humid day. The room was decent value, modern and well equipped but the pool was unavailable due a chlorine problem. We were not given any compensation although told we would get some. The lift was very slow and the hotel's location wasn't very central, you had to have a car. The reception staff were polite and efficient also the included breakfast was quite convenient.
very nice hotel staff was very friendly great location just off highway handy to shopping restaurants very clean property inside and out room was very clean and comfortable yes i would recommend this property to anyone
The service at this hotel was awesome . We were greeted upon entering and the cordial service continued through out the visit. The breakfast was elaborate and very convenient. This is the best service I have had at a hotel so far. Above all the price was great.
Clean room, comfortable beds. The pillows were fluffy and cozy. Staff was pleasant, friendly. Both front desk staff and housekeeping/maintenance. Breakfast was plentiful. Nice variety of options including gluten free, vegetarian and a nice assortment of hot/cold cereals. Hot coffee, ice water and snacks in the lobby 24/7
The hotel is clean and the people that work there are friendly. The only complaint I have is that breakfast is the same every day. Not a big deal if you are staying for a weekend, but when staying for weeks at a time for work, more selection would be nice.
Everything was on top. The room, the staff, the breakfast ... i recommand that place to everyone. Next time i will visit the city... i will be back for sur !! Continue ur good job !!! Thank u for everythings
Some of the staff were gracious and helpful, some were not. Acoustics in the pool area not good (bring ear plugs). Breakfast was generic: pork sausage, tasteless eggs, boring baked goods; generic waffles; no turkey sausage or turkey bacon available; no fruit and veggie smoothies, no granola. Ran low on breakfast foods by 9:30 AM.
Wonderful 3 night stay June 2017. Front desk staff excellent, very accommodating and friendly. We needed extra night stay and we're fully booked when I requested. Each morning and evening the girls (Linda, Joanne & Carly) kept us informed and when 1 became available arrangements were made that we didn't have to change rooms. Pool and hot tub most enjoyable and clean. Only one suggestion at the hot breakfast that menu do a change up and offer bacon one morning on the weekend otherwise very tasty & hot.
Extremely comfortable beds! Very friendly staff & great service. I would recommend this hotel for sure. Great coffee in breakfast area & good hot breakfast. Very close to highway 401, conveniently located.
We were in Cambridge to do some shopping and wanted an inexpensive place to stay on a Saturday night. We booked the Best Western Plus as it was close to the 401, close to shopping and the price was right. Checking in was quick, though their parking lot is cramped and not many spaces to park while checking in. The room was clean, comfortable and had a small fridge so we could keep some water cold. It had a swimming pool but we did not go for a dip. We were just looking for a place for a quality sleep and we did get that. Hotel was quiet at night, no issues with getting to sleep. The free breakfast was also better than expected. They had bagels, eggs and sausage so I had a decent breakfast sandwich. My wife tried the waffle maker but it did not cook the waffle through so it was still raw in the middle. She did have some toast and their toaster worked well. The elevators where small and slow. It was all my wife could do to ride it as she is a bit claustrophobic. If staying in Cambridge again this is our spot.
Great hotel, improves every time wears there! Great staff and location, easy to reach. Comfortable rooms, great breakfast selections. Staff is ready and willing to help in making your visit a pleasant one
I stayed here on Saturday June 3, 2017 for one night. We were attending a wedding. The room was ready for us for early check in but as soon as we got in the room the toilet did not flush properly, there were 3 of us staying in the room. When we got back from the wedding we told reception about the toilet, they moved us to another room, but that room smelled of smoke and the fan didn't work so it was really hot. They moved us back to the original room, but we couldn't get back in for 20 minutes cause the keys didn't work. They came up to fix the toilet, at 1am. The toilet was running all night long and wasn't really fixed. One of our party had a shower before bed, the water did not drain from the tub because the drain was blocked, in the morning at 9pm when we got up the tub was still full of water so 2 of us couldn't have a shower. We had the free breakfast. Went up to get our luggage and after I went to the washroom, it was then not flushing properly and blocked up, just lovely. I would not stay here again if it was the last hotel in Cambridge! They offered us 50% off the room, I said they should give us it for free which they did. That's the only good decision they made! And the manager was really angry at us!
Hotel is convenient-just off the 401 . Super friendly & helpful staff . Check-in & Check-out was a breeze. Bright , Clean, Newly renovated reception area. Complimentary Breakfast was excellent & made a nice start to the morning. Rooms were hi-quality & super quiet. Fitness facility & Indoor pool were a plus. This hotel has our AAAA++++ Rating
The staff were key to making my stay very pleasant. All the amenities worked and the room was clean. Thank you for working hard at being good hosts! Although the building is starting to show its age, the staff work hard at keeping it in reasonably good shape.
If you want great accommodation, cheerful friendly and helpful staff, and a breakfast "to die for," then this is for you. It is also within easy distance to all the presentations at Stratford, Ontario.
Thank you for providing outstanding customer service. The pool renovations, breakfast and reception areas were extremely attractive. Staff were accommodating, courteous and most willing to please. The breakfast choices were extensive and the buffet area was kept clean and orderly.
Wonderful employees, but the room was lacking in a few areas. The bed wasn't very comfortable but I slept like a log because of flights and driving. Phone in a very odd place, by tv, with no where to sit but grabbing the desk chair worked. Hotel itself looked a little shady and I wasn't sure if it was a safe area, but it turned out fine. I was too tired to use the pool and hot tub but looked nice and others were enjoying it. Free coffee and tea and cookies is a nice added touch. Breakfast weekdays until 9:30 would have been nice another half hour to hour for us non-morning people. Checkout til 11 so would have been nice to have that option to eat later. The room was clean except for food on chair, I just brushed it off. The toilet seemed dirty but probably just stained. Shower was ok, could have used more water pressure and a faster drain. Bed wouldn't be too comfortable for me if I wasn't exhausted. Would come again but not longer than a couple days stay.
I've stayed at this hotel quite a few times over the past few years. The last time in the fall of 2016. Just checked in and they have completely renovated the entire property. The lobby is now fresh, spacious and bright. The rooms have been updated. The hallways have new carpet. All this and I don't think that the rates have gone up much or if at all. I have a single queen room. The bed has a great mattress. A nice desk to get some work done. I'm totally impressed. The only down side is that this is now a non smoking hotel, but I'm pretty sure that this room has some remnants of cigarette smoke. I've been told there is a hot breakfast in the am. Linda on the front desk is really sharp. Goes above and beyond to ensure you are happy. I know that this hotel has queen suites with a seperate room with a sitting area and desk, Just didn't get one this visit.
We needed a place to stay while family had volleyball tournament.. Team staying near by so this was great choice. Excellent check in staff..very nice room..excellent breakfast area all included as well as 24 hr hot beverages..liked recent upgrades..enjoyed our stay..would stay again
Arrived here after long drive due to Doctor Appointments in Toronto and were greeted with very caring friendly staff. The hotel is spotless and so comfortable we felt very relaxed and refreshed and will stay here again ...
One of the best hotels we have stayed in. Everything about this facility is top notch. The staff, all the way from the cleaning people to the manager were very cheerful and helpful. The hotel and room layout were well designed. Not your straight long hallways and square rooms. The vanity in the bathroom was the longest I have ever seen in a hotel. I cannot think of one thing that we found to be less than A-one.
Tied in perfectly with our theater and dinner booking. Always enjoy Best Westerns. Staff very welcoming and helpful during our stay. Found the hotel to be clean and well taken care of. Enjoyed the pool in the evening, water was nice temperature and the area was also clean and well taken care of.
Very good value for the money. Nice pool, hot tub. Comfy bed and exceptional staff made being in a hotel away from family a great experience! The breakfast had a good selection of foods and having freshly baked cookies available through the evening was a very nice touch to go with the 24 hour coffee!
Very good hotel and friend staff. Ideally located to shopping, major highway and city. They even have a swimming pol that was warm and hot tub that was not blistering hot. This was our second stay and will again when in the area again.
Very good overall, nice new lobby updated. Pool and hot tub in nice condition and even a cute little alcove with TV /fireplace and sitting area in the pool area. Rooms could use some updating (6th Floor). Lighting in room was very low, need more lights and should update electrical with some USB ports. Breakfast was well kept and staff attentive!
Enjoyed a one-night stay May 4 2017. Extremely friendly and helpful staff accommodated our early check-in request. Perfectly clean and comfortable room, first-rate all around for this type of hotel. Can definitely recommend.
Staff were friendly even though the Hotel was completely booked. We had several rooms & they got us checked in fairly quickly (and early!) The beds were very comfortable, and the pillows are definitely the "icing on the cake". Rooms & hotel main areas were very clean. The breakfast was good. Nice selection & the staff kept it full even though it was busy. Would stay at this hotel again
Clean rooms, great staff, location to highway, shopping, restaurants, entertainment, amusements, handicap parking near door. Hotel has been recently renovated interior including upgrades to room, furniture
At the BW in Cambridge I was made to feel welcome and cared for. From check-in to check-out it was a pleasant experience. The room clean, the bed quite comfy and the FREE breakfast spread covers all the bases. I will be spending quite a bit of time over the next few months in Cambridge for business and I sure hope they will have availablity every week I need it!
Linda was very friendly at the front desk upon arrival. Check in was efficient. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, plenty of hot water for showers in the morning. We used the indoor pool and the hot tub--on busy days it may be a bit crowded as the pool is not very large, but we had the room to ourselves during our April stay. Breakfast was very good--it is a warm buffet, so don't expect piping hot like you would get at a full service restaurant. They had scrambled eggs, sausage, baked beans and premade omelets in the warming trays as well as cold cereal, toast, a waffle maker, bagels, juice and coffee. There was plenty of seating at the breakfast area, again we were there in April so it may be a little more crowded in the busier months. The staff checked several times while we were there to ensure all the breakfast offerings were well stocked. We were very pleased with the value and the treatment we received there.
Everything great! Simply said wouldn't change anything. Love getting points then using then tonstay for kids sports. Like to use gift cards for the restaurant if they have one on site Or put towards another free stay
Short family stay. Very impressed with this hotel for its price! Belfast was fabulous. Staff very courteous. Had pool and hot tub to ourselves. Key problems each time, however minor problem. We will stay again.
Still waiting on the credit to appear on my CC statement as promised by hotel Staff...overall the hotel is clean and conveniently off the Highway...lots of local amenities in the area too which is a plus...
Great service. Rooms are nice and clean. Was happy with check in and check out. Breakfast was basic but free when we stayed. The bed was horrible. Very uncomfortable which was my only complaint. I was happy to only be spending one night in that bed.
I had a great stay at this hotel. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Hotel room was clean and comfy. Hot tub and pool were clean and not to busy which was nice. My room was always fully stocked with towels ect.
Stayed here many times now.Beds are soft, rooms are clean and just as important staff is super friendly and helpful. Stephanie at desk was great. Even at breakfast bar, they have nice friendly lady refilling and cleaning....She is always smiling. So refreshing.
Very accommodating and welcoming staff. The hotel is clean and bright. This location is my preference when staying in Cambridge for business because of convenience to the highway and many restaurants with shopping
Good location for our business stay; lots around and hotel staff was caring and friendly and room was appreciated. Comfortable bed and very clean room. We would definitely choose this hotel the next time around.
The hotel itself was very nice, clean and well-maintained. Staff was friendly. The breakfast was decent but a little disorganized, hard to find things. Very good price but bill was $3.00 more than quote when booked.
My wife and I are seniors and are extremely disappointed with our 2 night stay Nov 10, 11 2016. Our room was on the second room 205 it was directly above the area used for breakfast. Starting at 6 or 6:30 in the morning we were awakened by the noise of tables and chairs being dragged across the floor and it continued for 3 hours till breakfast was over. The same noise was heard off and on till we went to bed because other guests or staff used the area off and on throughout the day. The room was anything but clean and bathroom vanity top was very small no room for personal items. We have had much better rooms and stays in much cheaper hotels. Next time we visit Cambridge which is something we do often each year we will most likely choose the Homewood Suites.
Welcoming lobby, pleasant staff, clean quiet room, comfortable bed, nice bathroom = everything you need ! And a very nice breakfast included. Good access to primary highway as well as main shopping and dining area.
We stayed here this weekend and it was stuffed full of hockey teams. We expected a very loud evening but it was VERY quiet at night which was lovely. Room smelled SO clean when we arrived and other than a chip in our tub it was very nice. Hot water was slow to get and not actually all that hot but good enough. The breakfast was good but I was horrified at how poorly supervised the hockey kids were as they were licking utensils and putting them back, wasting food etc. This is not a fault of the hotel but the parents!! We are former parents of rep hockey kids and NEVER would we have allowed any of this by our own children or their team mates! Wake up parents!!! you were right there and allowed your children to act like animals. It was embarrassing for you team which I won't mention but will remember.
We've stayed at other Best Westerns (Cornwall and one near Kinkardin in the last year) and had no problems, that's why we got the points card. So... we booked the room through expedia and when we arrived at the hotel the woman at the front desk took our name and gave us our hotel keys promptly and with out issue as we got there around 9:30pm. We got to the room and we heard running water noise which ended up being the toilet. So I went back down and asked for another room due to the toilet not working and there were 3 kids making a ton of noise in the hall near our room by the elevator playing hockey, that I mentioned as well. She told me they were fully booked and had no other rooms and would send a repair guy up. I said well if he can't get it fixed what then. I got an I'm sorry there's nothing we can do for you. I said ok we'll see if he can fix it then see about it if he can't. So I went back to the room and my wife said you need to see the state of the bathroom? I took my camera and took pictures it was so bad. I was going to take one of the toilet too as it was gross and not cleaned but the guy came to fix it. So he said it was the flapper and would run down to get one, then he came back 5 mins later and fixed it and he also told the kids in the hall to knock it off. By then it was around 10:30 and we had a long day and just wanted to relax. After seeing the state of the bathroom we both slept fully clothed and put shirts over the pillows as we didn't know if the bed was cleaned properly after the bathroom was so disgusting. Around 1:30 am a loud noise woke us both up, which sounded like someone power washing aluminum siding on the other side of the wall. I thought it might be the toilet running but it wasn't. Don't know where it was coming from. It continued on until 2:10am. It stopped then resumed at 2:30am and would happen intermittently all nite long approx every 15-20 mins until 4:30 when it stayed on constant until 5:30am. Yay 2 hours sleep. My brother came to meet us at the hotel lobby and we were going to have the breakfast there but it was too crowded to get a seat as there were only about 5 tables. So we didn't use our complimentary breakfasts and went elsewhere. And we decided to get the hell out of there and checkout at the same time. A different woman was at the desk and looked at us and said "Ya?" I said we want to check out. She was on the phone the whole time and said to us she couldn't get a receipt for us because the printer was broken then continued talking on the phone. I said excuse me can I get the total amount then. She looked at me and said "Give me your email address and I'll email it to you" then said "No expedia will send you the bill" after she looked at the computer and after I had written down my email. I just shook my head said "whatever" and left. Now the room. After seeing the condition of the bathroom we didn't even look at the rest of it. Just got into bed and thought we'd sleep. Until all the noise. We didn't want the sheets on us and the airconditioning was full tilt. I turned it off but there was no heat setting, it said aircon only on the thermostat so it was a chilly nite as well. Also the phone was flashing with big red light the whole time, we thought it was a message but we checked there was none. No way to turn it off. What year was this bathtub last cleaned? Check the pics. My wife said, I'm not having a shower I'll wait til I get home tomorrow. I said I bet it fills up too.Yup. Filled about 4 inches. I think I need to be deloused. Beyond disgusting and unexcusable. We wiped the crust on the tap with a kleenex and it came off and there was brown goo around the base of it on the right side. I wonder if they cleaned the counter with the towel that they used to clean the toilet then hung it on the rack. Would explain the brown marks on the towel..Oh wait they didn't clean the toilet either. Be glad I don't have a pic of that you would vomit, pubic hair and black gunk. Sickening. I'm sure I'm missing telling you something else but that should suffice to get the gist of it all.. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. The hotel should refund our money. $150 for a nite of hell. We've enjoyed other Best Westerns but this one should be torn down. Oh and to add insult to injury, all of Best Western's email links don't work on their corporate site. So I can't lodge a complaint by email and send lictures. It now refers you to a 800 number for customer serviice.
Was the lousiest hotel chain that I have ever dealt with. On Sept 13,15 and 15, 2016, I was unfortunate to having stayed in this hotel in Cambridge, ON on a business trip. Firstly, they did not tell me about the renovations going on. The place was dusty and hot with temporary quarters for the supposed front desk and restaurant. The attendants could not find me my reservation, gave me the wrong keys and a string of other things where it does not appear they have any customer sensitivities. The cafe staff were very nice and good, however. The most appalling is this; they see fit to run renovations and still take bookings for rooms, and your money, yet offer no discount whatsoever for these inconveniences and discomforts. I will never stay in a Best Western again and I will ensure none of my business colleagues do either. I will also recommend to my peers that we take Best Western Hotels off the corporate travel recommendations list. Cheers, boys and girls.
Stayed only one night - Lobby being redone and looked to be great - had breakfast on the lower level - everyone very nice. Room ok but they could use different pillows. Did eat next door at a Chinese Restaurant. Quite good.
Hotel was easy to access and although the hotel was going through renovations the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The rooms were extremely clean and there was room for both of us to spread out our suitcases.
The hotel lobby is currently being updated which makes it awkward when checking in but was okay and will be a big improvement. The room was clean but the rooms need some tlc. New carpet and bathroom tile would go a long way. The staff is awesome, they are very helpful and friendly!
So very disappointed. Booked one overnight to attend a wedding and was so looking forward to it. Reception area under construction, check-in was done in a cramped room, luggage trolley was broken and filthy, room carpet badly stained, condensation on room windows dripping on carpet, no shower curtain, desk chair "leather" cracked, torn, peeling. Breakfast in basement was just ordinary. Definitely not "plus" rating. Entire hotel needs renos. Definitely overcharged for what I got.
Hotel was nice, lobby under construction but not an issue. Indoor pool and hot tub was great. Full breakfast was excellent. Only issue was the wake up call. Got the wake up at 2:07am which was our room number!! Was not happy. Why would anyone want a wake up call at that time?
The hotel's location is great, close to the 401 and lots of restaurants. Like many people mentioned, the hotel is currently under serious construction in the front lobby. When we checked in, we walked in during an argument between a client and the front desk girl who wasn't having a fun time! Once the disgruntled gentleman left, and while checking us in, she wasn't shy about telling someone else what she thought of the gentleman, which was unprofessional in my opinion. Our room was ok, the bathroom's tiles and grout needed a scrub and a new toilet! Very average room, nothing spectacular and it would need a bit of a refresh. The "leather" chair was all cracked and peeling, no binder with hotel information to be found, not even a pen. Nice Keurig for morning coffee however, the powdered creamer wasn't fresh and "floating" on top. The breakfast is in the basement, in an old meeting room with disgusting water stains on the ceiling. Breakfast is "ok" again, nothing spectacular. The hotel might be better after a full lift, not just the front lobby.
I have seen a few negative reviews about this hotel prior to our visit, especially around the renovations to the lobby area.... Not really sure why the complaints though.... In no way did it detract from our visit... Friendly, hard working staff.... Great pool and gym.... Great breakfast that was basic but plentiful... Room was clean and spacious.... And only a few minutes walk to shops, bars and restaurants.... If you like a beet, then make sure you walk ( only about 10 minutes) down to Beertown on Hespler Road.... Great sports bar with lots of local and imported beers...
A disappointing experience. We could dismiss the construction work going on to upgrade the lobby, but it would have been nice to have been told about it in advance and for the pricing to be discounted for that and the other shortfalls. The check-in area has been temporarily located to what was, I presume, a guest room on the first floor, and guests have to exit by the rear entrance. Our room (512) needs an upgrade too - the shower tile grout was very black and the tiles uneven. There was no shower cap provided. The carpeting was stained in a number of places. There was a strong chemical odour when we first entered the room. Both the food and the "ambience" (located in the basement with spartan furnishing) of the hot buffet breakfast were quite unappealing (I felt like I was in a hostel) and it took a long time for the staff to bring more scrambled eggs - in a smallish container - that were emptied again almost immediately. Fortunately the room was quiet enough and we were only there for one night.
Construction could make the reception desk very attractive eventually but the rooms are very old and questionable on cleanliness. It would take a lot of capital to bring the rooms to a reasonable standard for the $ charged for a night. Hopefully, this is a transition state, but not great for current clients. Staff are okay but won't put much effort into pleasing guests. It was the usual response that one bad customer means we are all hard to handle; just pay and get out of here.
Recently spent four nights here while working nearby. Renovations to lobby make entrance a bit awkward but my third-floor room was clean and pretty quiet. Bed was great, I slept well. There was a mini fridge in my room which I always appreciate. Breakfast offered variety, standard BW fare, suited me fine. Good coffee. Breakfast room not too crowded while we were there which was good. I didn't get to use the pool, unfortunately, but it looked nice. A decent Best Western. Hopefully they complete their renos soon.
The hotel is under renovation, however this was not the problem. The problem was the room. It was so moldy and the smell was so bad that I almost vomited when I entered the room. We ended up having to stay as it was full and we had two small children that were super tired and didn't have the energy to start looking around for another room. We always stay at 3* hotels and this is not a 3* hotel. At best a 1*. There was mold in the bathroom, hair on the bathroom door and like I said, the smell was awful. I will never stay there again. If I could rate this a 0, I would.
I've stayed here twice already and I'll be staying again next week totaling 9 nights. Yes, the reception area is being renovated. It's not a new hotel, but I don't want to call it "dated" yet. +++ Breakfast is good. There is a variety, including warm food, like sausages, eggs and bacon. Lot's of bagels and breads, cereals and yogurt etc. (However... it's located on corner walls and it's not arranged well. For example, the plates and napkins are separated from the utensils by the juices. And other little things that leave you looking.) There is a pool area. I did not use it but I saw lots of people that did. There is a workout room. Convenient location, right by the 401. Tons of restaurants and shopping within walking distance... and lots more if you are willing to drive 5 minutes. Clean and quiet. Staff are really friendly. --- The elevators are slow. Parking lot is tight. I have a 14' cargo trailer and most nights there wasn't room for it. Large vehicles can park on the street nearby or at the Chinese Restaurant next door. Lots of spiders outside. In the corners at the top of entrances and around windows. I hate spiders.
I have been to many Best Western "Plus" establishments. I didn't feel that it rates a plus status. The hotel is going under renovations at this time in the lobby and I did see that the entire place is getting old and tired. Once the lobby is done I hope attention is also put forth to the entire building. Too many disappointments to list at this time. The breakfast area definately needs attention. It was a mess and I did not feel good grabbing breakfast there. I would recommend either the Cambridge Hotel next to this one or the Hilton on the other side. I have stayed at both of those hotels and do recommend them. Both are cleaner and more modern.
Had an excellent stay at this hotel. Hotel was very clean considering that the hotel was under construction. 1 reason for staying at this hotel was the swimming pool which was nice and very clean. The other reason was they served breakfast. Which as a family of 5 there was something for everyone.
We stayed here two nights. It is a dated hotel. The reception/check-in area is being renovated right now. Halls are dark and smelly, rooms feature aged furniture and unpleasant/old. The breakfast was OK though. Overall, the hotel resembles college dormitories.
Major renovations were being done at the time of our stay. The reception area was moved to a room with accessibility to the outside, however we were made to walk around the building in order to reach the area where we could enter and find the reception/check-in room. The receptionist was cranky (possibly from the construction?) and not very helpful at all. We wanted to pay for our room from a debit card, but weren't able to do this because they also wanted at $250 deposit for each room (we booked 2 because of large group). There was construction all over the hotel and I felt very inconvenienced as there was confusion all over. I'm hoping that things are finished very soon.
Hotel lobby was under construction, but they were still very obliging. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. Location is good if you've got tickets to the theater which is about 10 minutes away in town. Would definitely stay there again next theater trip.
well iam not to good at this lol the stay in the staff where great rooms where clean in comfortable pool was great for the kids all in all a great stay we would stay again we really enjoyed the pool in breafest
We booked in on 13th July for a 7night stay after a transatlantic flight to find that the hotel was undergoing major reconstruction. This wasn't communicated with us in advance. The check in area was in a hotel room. No apology was offered for the appearance of the hotel during check in. Next morning, breakfast was in what was obviously a temporary dining room. That's not a big issue but I do object to having my breakfast on paper plates using plastic knives and forks and paper cups for drinks. When we went to "reception" to complain about all the above and the lack of wifi, again no apology was made and no attempt was made to convince us to stay. As someone who has worked in customer service for many years, I found that very unusual. I certainly wouldn't recommend this hotel.
Major renovations were a problem during our recent stay, but we have stayed at and enjoyed this hotel in the past, so the rating is more of an average. Breakfast location was moved and hot foods were not available for breakfast. Check in was cramped in a normal room, but staff did their best to compensate. I do think that hotel should have notified us of the renovations at the time of booking.
My husband, daughter and I stayed at the Best Western Plus July 15-17. When we first arrived we noticed there was construction going on inside the hotel, which was fine, as check-in was not affected. Our room was on the fourth floor and there was a bad smelll everytime we walked in there during the weekend (we still couldn't identify what it was), but we would get used to it after a while. I noticed that they gave us two washcloths and two handtowels, four towels. I tried to call down to the front desk, but our phone in the room was not working so I had to use my cell phone and go through the automated service. When I told reception that our phone was not working, and that we were missing washcloths, I was told to come down to front desk and pick them up. I have never been to a hotel that would inconvenience a guest like that. I can understand if you forgot something at home and had to ask the hotel to provide you with something..that would be our fault. However when it is the hotel/housekeeping that does not give you the proper items, they should send someone to your room with the items, not inconvenience the guest The one positive was that the beds and pillows were very comfy.
Just returned from a 2 night stay with our children. Although the front lobby was under renovations it certainly didn't deter our experience. Our room was spacious with comfortable beds. It was clean and included a fridge and Kuerig coffee maker. I found this helpful when warming up my son's bottles. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. The hotel provides a free breakfast which was ideal with kids. The hotel is easy to find as it is right off the 401. The only complaint was that you couldn't 't turn left when leaving but it was simple to go a 1 min drive down the road and turn around at the gas bar. Highly recommended. We went to the African Lion Safari which was only 25 minutes away. Many restaurants nearby.
We have stayed here before, easy access to everything in Cambridge. We were going to the African Lion Safari again and enjoyed this hotel the first time and came back. Would recommend this to anyone. The rooms were very nice, clean and very comfortable beds. Bathrooms were clean and lots of towels as well.
Nice rooms and comfortable beds, breakfast is not bad but could have more selections. Free parking and free wifi is a plus, pool is nice. Central location is great for shopping and business. Overall I'd give it 4 stars.
Stayed for two nights for a sport tournament. Desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The Lobby was clean and welcoming. Guest rooms were very clean. The morning breakfast area seemed a little small and dated, however, it appears renovations are to commence shortly. Great stay would definitely recommend.
This was the perfect hotel. It was clean and comfortable and had a great breakfast. We enjoyed the easy access to the highway as well as it was close to the grocery store, beer store, LCBO, shopping. It's a very convenient hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. One of the nicest places I've stayed.
This quite gem is right beside the 401 and you don't even hear a thing! The rooms are very large. It has a wonderful swimming pool and hot tub. It features a deluxe breakfast with eggs. There are plenty of restaurants close by for eating at.
We chose this hotel because of it's proximity to the Kitchener/Waterloo and Stratford areas -- great accommodations and excellent prices compared to other hotels slightly closer. We were delighted. We were able to switch from a room near the elevator to one further down the hall away from vending machines and the elevators. Very quite. The room was lovely, the bathroom had plenty of room and the tub was easy to get in and out of and with the curved curtain rod felt spacious. The breakfast offering was amazing, including choices of hot eggs, pancakes or waffles, coffee with real cream, bread, bagels and English muffins and fresh fruit. The staff person in charge of the area was very attentive, friendly and helpful to guests and ensured that nothing ran out. The seating area was well lit and papers were also available to read. No evening restaurant on site but we were directed to local restaurants by the front desk staff.
The hotel was fine but the people were incredible, they made the stay everything it could be. I was very pleased with the service it was quite outstanding. The location was great and everything we needed was close by. Breakfast was good and had a wide variety of food items.
The people set this facility apart from most of the local hotels, they were excellent and very focused on the customer considering the lower price point for this hotel. the rooms are older but many are being redone and the common facilities have just been updated
Great place to stay. It was close to everything I needed during my stay. The only thing I would like to see is a restaurant attached to the hotel, this would allow for room service. The breakfast bar however was excellent with a choice of both hot and cold breakfast items. Much better than the usual continental breakfast you get at most hotels.
We had a very pleasant stay at this Best Western Hotel where the staff were very courteous, helpful and of course very friendly. The room was excellent, the bed very comfortable and overall, a very enjoyable stay. We will stay here again on the next visit to Cambridge.
A clean, comfortable hotel with all the amenities you'd expect and more. The free breakfast included eggs, sausages, breakfast burritos and machines for making pancakes and waffles. The beds are comfortable and the price was right for the tail-end of a family road trip.
This is a very nice hotel, just south of Hwy 401 on 24, we arrived late in the evening. When I went to park our car I found the parking lot lacking in lighting and very dark in most places. I mentioned this to the desk clerk who said she did not know how dark it was.
The hotel is easy to see from the hwy, no navi needed. The staff was helpful finding a restaurant in the vicinity for sushi. The rooms was perfect for e-mails and later a good nights rest. It is close to the Cambridge business area.
I have never been spoken to so Rudely by someone in my life. The night clerk at the front desk accused us of lying when we walked in with our small, well behaved dogs. We booked this stay on Expedia as a pet friendly hotel with a pool. Btw pool was closed for renovations. :( When we arrived my friend staying in a separate room from us walked in with her two small dogs. Other guests were talking to her and complimenting her dogs in front of the 1st clerk. So Never thought anything of it. We went out for dinner. When we arrived back at midnight we were yelled at in front of other guests called liars and accused of sneaking our dogs into the rooms. Take in mind the only way in is through the front door. We had no reason to sneak our dogs in. This may have been a misunderstanding and we could have worked it out without us feeling like second class citizens. :(
We got a nice room at a reasonable rate but spent quite a long time comparing different sites. We found the best rate by booking under BWRewards at the military rate. That was a saving of $40 a night from the price quoted by the hotel when calling. I am hoping that at some time we will see hotels, all hotels, remove the carpets from the floors. I don't recall ever staying in a hotel without having to be careful about where to set luggage etc.
I came from Brantford. I asked for a quiet floor away from teams etc. I was put on 5 floor by elevator. All I heard all evening was doors slamming , elevator and people being noisy. My daughter and I couldnt sleep much. My toilet took like 10 minutes to flush. Bathrooms are outdate, shower had mold or mildew,Floor was dirty, couldnt get into pool till 7:30 in evening. children and people splashing, taking water out of hottub, no one would do anything, was very upset with overall trip and stay. when u pay 120 for a night, u deserve to have some peace and quiet
Very good experience overall. Courteous staff, well-priced (with CAA discount), well-located, well-maintained, comfortable room, all amenities that I would expect. A bonus was the very good Chinese restaurant next door (China House). I would use this hotel again if in the area.
Booked for a business trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful! The rooms are functional and descent. Our room was average, bathroom is tired and needs a Reno. Beds were comfortable but firm, best thing about the bathroom was the shower head. All in all I would stay there again but wouldn't pay over $85 a night. Location is good close to highway and shopping.
I was visiting the Kitchener Waterloo area and decided to stay here because it was so convenient to Hwy 401. I found it to be clean and comfortable. I especially found the receptionist to be very helpful when checking in and she took the time to listen to me and match a recommendation for a restaurant with something that I liked. The pool looked great but I didn't have time to try it out. One thing which I found challenging was getting out to leave as you have to make a left and then turn around to get back to the 401. I found breakfast to be just what I expected but as I was staying 2 days would have liked something different on another day.
An average hotel. The room was clean, bed comfortable, but the décor a little dated. Continental breakfast was adequate but go early. On a Sunday morning once it fills there is no place to sit. The hallways on our floor, the third, had an odd odour. The room was not affected by this odour.
Had booked this for one night and found out we had to stay an extra night with a tournament for our granddaughter. There was a Provincial Volleyball Tournament happening and virtually every hotel in the surrounding 3 cities were booked. Michael (Manager?) bent over backwards to help us and we wound up with the same room for the second night! Great service!! It is the ideal place that provides a perfect stop when you are coming and going!
Had planned one night and with Volleyball tournament going later, we asked for extra night. Michael was great in helping us with the extra night as well as not having to change rooms. The staff are very very helpful and while the pool was a bit cool, the fitness room had all the essentials. The breakfast was standard fare ... but the staff ensured that more food was there if it ran low.
We have family in the area that we visit frequently and we always choose to stay at this Best Western. We always have good service, friendly and helpful staff and there is always a good selection at breakfast. We will continue to stay here when in the area.
Reasonably priced good quality hotel convenient for those travelling through Cambridge. Located adjacent to the 401 highway and across the road from a major shopping mall. No noise to speak of from the nearby highway. Quick efficient reception. Standard hotel quality room, clean and well appointed. Small pool adjacent to the lobby. Standard hot and cold DIY self-serve breakfast included in room charge. Downside is that there is no onsite restaurant although there is a Chinese buffet restaurant right next door, a good quality restaurant at the adjacent Cambridge Conference Centre hotel next door and plenty of chain restaurants in the shopping centre across the road.
No matter what causes us to stay in Cambridge we always choose this Best Western. We've always been treated well. The amenities such as the pool and hot tub are always used. the new paint in the pool area is bright and comforting.
We have stayed at this Best Western PLUS in the past. It is very close to shopping and many restaurants. I often stop in this location and visit the Cambridge Golf Shop. And of course the main reason we stay pick this hotel is because we always plan a dinner at the Keg restaurant a very short distance away.
We stayed 5 nights (long story). Overall we had good nights sleep with internet and free breakfast. They have a cool waffle and pancake machine. The pool was a bit cold for my liking but there was a hot tub. It was a fairly quiet keep to yourself kind of hotel.
We stayed 2 nights and were pleased with the rooms and the complimentary breakfast. Breakfast location could be too small when the hotel is full but there was plenty of room when we were there. Rooms are spacious and clean and the rate was good. Location is close to shopping and dining areas but a bit outside of the city center. We did miss a restaurant or bar for evening dining and relaxing.
My family stayed 1 night at this hotel before a sports tournament. Staff was great. The rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. More choices than what you usually get for a hotel breakfast. Price was very reasonable. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
We were referred to this hotel from a partner hotel and this pricier one was willing to honour the lower rate. Our check in was fast and friendly and the girl at the counter joked with us and chatted with my girls. The hotel looks very nice and the lobby is modern. Positives: - The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless (with a full sized hair dryer which I appreciated). - First floor has a door to the parking lot for loading/unloading (parking lot can get noisy though). - Keurig machine with coffee and tea (shorter people will have to move it down from the microwave). - Easy to get to, close to amenities, right off the 401 yet I couldn't hear the traffic from where we were. - Decent breakfast with quite a few options (if you stay with this chain a lot it's pretty standard). Negatives: - The gap between our door and its frame meant a constant draft from outside (-11). The large window was drafty too so we had to pull the curtain as far as it would extend and use our luggage to hold it in place. - The water tastes TERRIBLE! From the sink or from the morning breakfast, the water was so gross and made the coffee and tea almost unbearable. - Cold pool and pool deck. Broken sauna. - Empty vending machines (tried the drinks on all 3 levels and all sold out for the options we tried). - Wifi is slow…if you can even connect! I would not recommend this hotel for business travel. - Checkout girl was not very friendly. It was Valentine's Day/Family Day weekend and with two young children the main reason we chose this hotel was for the heated pool (which the partner hotel had called ahead to make sure that the pool was open/working). It was SO cold. Everyone was crammed into the hot tub. There is a sauna but it was locked and judging by the other comments, the sauna and pool issues have been going on for some time. For a pricier hotel I'd expect more.
Overall the hotel is nice. The pool was cool not heated. The hot tub was huge which was nice but should have been cleaned. The staff were great! My gift card for $25.00 from Best Western was USD so that was great too because it more in CAD dollars!!!
Just a one night sleep over for the wife to do some shopping while I was treated to a hockey game in Toronto. Hotel was fine. No problems. Nice hot breakfast. Convenient location. Did not use the pool or any of the fitness area.
I have tried many hotels. for the price and comfort level i think best western is the best so far. the only problem we ran into is that the pool and hot-tub were under repair during our first visit and during the second visit that pool heater wasn't working the hot tub was way too hot.
The hotel was clean, room and bed quite comfortable; the included breakfast had fresh hot eggs and sausage as well as toast, pancakes, waffles, juices, good coffee, and a good selection of hot/cold cereals; exceptional location with good access to major highways/roads and shopping and eating establishments; reasonable value; great staff keeping breakfast items well stocked and provided quick check-in and check-out; cool/cold pool but nice hot tub.
First off - I'd like to say that I expected more from a Best Western Plus location. I have stayed at a few over the last year and this location was not nearly as nice. It is a tad dated (which I could overlook) but also somewhat dingy. The bathtub in our room was covered in rust spots. The bed wasn't overly comfortable. The staff were very friendly though and breakfast was put out early (which was appreciated because we had to eat and run!). Like someone else said, convenient location by the highway. Not sure I'd stay here again. Average.
We visited the weekend of Feb 13/14. We specifically went to the hotel so our kids could enjoy the pool and hot tub for the weekend. I wish I had read the other reviews before we went. The pool was ice cold, hot tub was filthy - my husband actually took pics of the hot tub condition. The pool area itself was freezing. Just sitting in a chair watching my kids swim was painfully cold. There were very few chairs in the pool area, so at times I had to stand to watch my kids swim. Our room was set at the highest heat setting, and was still cold. People in the pool area were also complaining about their rooms and how the heat didn't really "heat". The breakfast was great, however, the breakfast area is in the lobby and was freezing. We ate breakfast with our winter coats on. I pretty much never warmed up our entire stay. I don't think I would stay again, there's lots of hotels with pools and there were just too many "cons". By reading the other reviews, I see that the pool temperature has been a problem for a while and their management has not rectified it. It was a disappointment.
Stopped over from one night. Hotel is OK. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast area is small and somewhat crowded. Some highway noise. Right next to the highway if you are looking for a convenient place to stop for the night.
The room, free breakfast and location were all nice, but the customer service was excellent. Front Desk staff especially Ms. Lantz went above and beyond the call of duty. She even assisted me in doing my laundry. Kudos to the management for hiring staff that makes those who live out of a suitcase feel at home.
As a professional photographer, I stay and work several hotels throughout the year. I keep returning to this hotel, because of it staff, and the room is exactly what I need to work in. The staff always goes out of their way to make my stay very comfortable and successful.
Our Family stayed there this past Saturday January 30. We were going to Chicopee Tube Park and didn't have to stay in a hotel as it's only an hour away from our home. We wanted to stay at a hotel so our kids could enjoy the pool and we could enjoy the hot tub. The pool was ice cold and the 'hot tub' was barely warm. The foam in the hot tub was brown. A request was made at the front desk to turn up the hot tub temperature. Apparently the repair person does not work weekends and they were aware of the issue. We found this unacceptable especially since most of their business is had on weekends when rates are conveniently higher. However, after reading other reviews I see we were lied to as there was pool temperature issues just one month ago. Perhaps you need a new repairman.....that works around the clock. Just sayin'
Checking out this morning, and will never stay here again. Pool was ice cold, 'spa' was filthy and less than body temperature, sauna was padlocked and 'under repair'. Front desk staff was surly, lied about the pool problems. To add insult to injury, the coffee urns in the lobby were all empty by 11 PM and unlike any other Best Western I've stayed at, the staff refused to make more.
I always stay with Best Western because they offer a very good service, and of course I was not dissapointed this time. The personnel was very helpful, they have very good facilities and it is located close to many shopping centers and restaurants.
This hotel is seconds off the 401 with easy on and off access. The rooms are large and comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Ample breakfast is included and various dining options within walking distance.
The staff is excellent. I needed a microwave in my room and they brought it up right away. The only bad thing was the beds were very hard. The continental breakfast is very good with lots with lots of choices. Even a pancake maker & waffle maker. We would definitely stay again.
I stayed at this hotel this past weekend. It was extremely cold outside and I don't know if that effected the temperature inside. I found the lobby, hallways and room cold. The breakfast had lots of options and was well laid out however again I found it very cold and didn't take off my winter coat. The hot tub was the same temperature at the pool and I found that odd. Great location close to everything I needed! A suggestion I would make is that no one asked me how my stay was. I think it's a great idea in the morning at check out to ask how everything was. Gives the opportunity to make suggestions or give praise and makes a person feel that their opinion is wanted.
Liked to stay first floor, but disappointed with the smoke odor lingering in the hallway. The room where we stayed was close to the rear exit where the people go out for a smoke. The odor can be faintly smelt in the room
Stayed here for 9 nights. Have a couple complaints but nothing major. First the hotel advertises a heated pool. The pool was indoors however not even close to being heated. They won't tell you this but its basically unusable in the winter months. Only one of the hotels elevators was working. so checking out or going anywhere at busier times was difficult and frustrating. The only other thing that sucked was the fact that they had no bacon with the breakfast they always just had this gross breakfast sausage. Its a great breakfast except for that disgusting sausage. but thats it. Other than those 2 things the hotel is a great hotel. Staff was helpful. I forgot my mouse in the room when i checked out. I phoned the next day and was easily able to retrieve it from the cleaning staff. internet worked great. room was clean. Would stay again.
After staying at a few other hotels in the area and Toronto in the last week (as well as my own place nearby in the basement suite, as am in town to visit), I can tell you, this hotel was like heaven. The room was super clean and smelled fresh. Everything was laid out nicely. The furniture is well appointed and almost new. There's a brand name large TV that works. The bathroom has a granite counter and everything is almost spotless. There are soft towels and soaps. The bed is awesome and pillows pristine, plentiful and soft. The remote has been sanitized and is easy to understand. There's a real iron. It's quiet and not next to a gas station. The staff are courteous. The lobby is nice and the breakfast is decent. The halls and carpets are up to date and very clean. The wifi is free and fast. So, unless the Hilton has a better rate, I recommend you spend the extra $10-20, if required, and stay here. Aside from a few kids running around a little, it's fantastic and where I should've stayed the last week while in the region. There are a lot of substandard hotels around and this one stands out as an example of how it should be done.
Easily accessible from Hwy. Great staff. Very clean hotel, rooms. The pool looked very clean. Breakfast was ready, warm and had a really good variety of hot and cold items. Check in and check out was done quickly and friendly. Love staying at this hotel.
Stayed here 1 week and really enjoyed our time. The staff were always helpful, Breakfast was really good, a good selection and I loved the fresh whole fruit. The internet worked (a plus). I would definitely come back
My partner and I experienced very dangerous road conditions on December 18th, 2015. After driving 10km in 30 minutes, we decided that the roads were too icy to continue home after visiting my sister in Waterloo and we turned off from highway 401 as soon as possible. The very first spot we stumbled across was this Best Western Plus and, with it nearing midnight, we decided it was in our best interest to stay in town over night and continue driving home (to Peterborough, Ontario) in the morning. We were relieved that there were rooms available when we entered the hotel and not only did we receive a great room at a reasonable price, the front desk was extremely helpful and courteous. We ordered a pizza and they immediately agreed to phone up to us and let us know when the pizza man had arrived, even when I got the name of the pizza place wrong! The room was clean and spacious, and even though we had no bags, we were able to request some small items to get us through the night that were graciously offered at the front desk. We got a great nights sleep in a comfy bed, after watching some cable TV on a flat screen TV! (As University studies, all of these things felt and were amazing to us!) In the morning we enjoyed breakfast with fresh fruit (that wasn't too ripe or under ripe - I had a perfectly yellow banana) with some cereal, and the option to have waffles and eggs. Check out was extremely speedy (under 5 minutes, even with someone in line in front of us) and again, the front desk was very polite, and very knowledgeable. We asked about the road conditions, and she let us know that they had been salted the night before and had improved. We would definitely return again, not only if we are in another pickle, but if we are ever vacationing in the Cambridge area!
this hotel has great ratings for good reason. It's a clean property, well kept and its distinguishing feature is its staff. They pay attention, and have mastered customer service 101 in spades! You sense their care and attention to detail from the lobby and breakfast room to the guest spaces.
If I return it will definitely be for the amazing complimentary breakfast and the comfy bed. Very good value for the price we paid. The hot tub was an added bonus too, located near the pool. The location is very good too, just off the highway.
excellent value, location, comfort! great staff - very friendly and efficient great amenities on site fast elevators clean rooms good breakfast offered free parking the bed was very comfortable free wifi location is perfect
Had some issues in hotel room and staff were very accommodating to attempt to get these addressed. It was raining and my window leaked so there wasn't much they could do but put towels down. The windows and bathroom need to be re-done.
A fabulous stay. We were received by an extremely friendly and helpful Front Desk. The lobby offers a comfortable welcome with access to a hot coffee particularly now that the chillier weather is upon us. I booked a king-bed room, which was nicely appointed with a desk and good lighting to facilitate work. Wi-fi reception in the room was great/fast. The room was spotless with equally detailed cleaning services. Coffee, microwave, good size flat screen TV and complete washroom needs made the stay very comfortable What I was also very impressed with was the Front Desk's evening call to inquire whether all was satisfactory and if we required any other assistance. I have seldom had this level of hospitality concern even in 5-star hotels! The morning hot breakfast lacked little. Indeed, while not a full service style, it was tasty and complete. Access to the 401, restaurants and shopping make this Best Western an ideal stop for either business or pleasure.
My first review as I hope to prevent other people from making mistake. Not sure if the smoke smell was from years past when you could smoke and it just clinged to walls,or if its coming from the ventilation ,but it was very noticeable. Thought it was just me ,but my kids even commented on it. We ONLY stay at hotels with pools,as its a mini vacation for us and the kids. I should have listened to previous reviews about pool temperature. It is FREEZING. I dont think they have any intentions of fixing it as complaints go back over a year. I thought the past reviews were exaggerated, but they were all right. My kids at least liked the hottub. If these things arent important to you, its not a bad place for the night. I wish I would have spent the $20 more --would have mad all the difference.
Chose this hotel because of its location and amenities. Best Western is consistently very good both in service and accommodation. Did not disappoint even though this was a very short overnight stay because of attending an out of town wedding.
This hotel is very good and is literally one minute off the 401. It is close to many shopping areas and restaurants. Check in was smooth, the staff was friendly and upon arriving at my room, I found it very clean and comfortable. The room has a small microwave, a Keurig coffee maker and a small fridge. Wi Fi was included and the code was provided with the room key. Breakfast was reasonable, cereal, toast, coffee, apple juice, scrambled eggs and sausage was fair of the day. After a good sleep, I awoke to find several people standing in the lobby waiting for the Police as their cars were broken into during the night. I went out to check on mine and found that the cars and pickups that were broken into had no alarm system. This has happened at other hotels that I have stayed at in past and does not reflect a typical stay at this Best Western. I would suggest that if you do not have an alarm on your car, it would be best to park at the front of the building. All in all, it is a good hotel and I would stay here again.
the hotel is average - not luxury but not terrible. however our toilet was broken. it did not flush at all. when it was reported to the desk staff they just wrote down the room number to fix it later. no apology, no compensation. nothing. we paid full price for a room without a working toilet. zero customer service.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Although the hotel is freeway close no freeway noise was detectable. The room was clean and comfortable. We were just passing through and found this hotel with our Garmin. We have been, generally, pleased with Best Western Hotels and this one did not disappoint.
This hotel in Canada is in my opinion far superior to Best Westerns in the U.S. The staff were eager to please with giving directions etc. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices and the room had a very good coffee maker.
