No blackout shades/curtains and lights blast in the room. A/C does not work. Floor is buckled throughout. Right on the freeway so it is very noisy. Definitely not even a 2 star hotel. Would not stay here again…especially for $130 a night!!!!
BEWARE OF THIS BEST WESTERN in Bowie, TX—Attempted Double Charge! I recently stayed at this Best Western and had a frustrating experience with billing. I booked and paid through Hotels.com, and my credit card confirmed the charge. However, when I checked in, the front desk asked if I'd paid with a card ending in a different number than mine. When I said no, they told me I needed to pay again. I nearly did, but then remembered the text confirming the payment, which I showed to the clerk, who accepted it as proof. I assumed the issue was resolved. The next morning, I asked for a receipt, but the desk clerk said they couldn't provide one because I'd booked and paid through a third party (Hotels.com). Thinking all was well, I left. Days later, I saw a new charge directly from Best Western on my card. I called the hotel three times, and each time, they said management would contact me. After more than a week with no response, I called my credit card company asking them to dispute and flag this charge as fraudulent. Aside from this, the hotel itself is dated, with some maintenance issues, though it was clean. Highway noise was very loud, and I didn't sleep well. Save yourself the hassle—consider staying elsewhere if you're looking for a good night sleep and without billing issues.
This is the worst hotel in the area. Unfortunately there are very few options in Bowie, but there is some very shady stuff going on at this hotel. The manager went full tilt screaming at me when I brought it to her attention that it appeared there were illegal activities going on at the hotel with staff involvement. One of the house keepers was wasted and looked to be on meth or something like that. The weekend front desk people had occupied vacant rooms and when asking for help at the desk the worker appeared from a room. It was odd. Supposedly this hotel had a tornado and had major damage but the rooms are still not totally fixed yet. This place gives me the creeps and I would not recommend staying here because if you're wanting to be at a safe place.
We had a good stay at the Best Western in Bowie TX. We were served by a very nice and helpful lady at the front desk. The room was spacious and overall clean. Bathroom was top and had all the necessary amenities. Breakfast was also class “A”. Eggs, meat and all other regular items. The hotel is not in a quiet area, traffic noise all day and night. At night it's very disturbing ( we were on 3rd floor). Beds were comfortable. Would return here if in the area.
This hotel was not safe… there was a scorpion in the pool, in the hallway there was an outlet that I feel could have caused harm to someone and the shower chair in the handicapped bathroom was broken. There were bugs and the window didn't close all the way. I canceled my other reservation, not going back plus the breakfast food was pretty nasty.
First room had bedbugs and dirty sheets. I informed the front desk and I was offered clean sheets so I could replace the dirty ones. After I refused I was given a new room but without the extra amenities I reserved for my autistic son. The second room was dirty but the nearest hotel was 30 miles away and after traveling from Wisconsin to Texas, I was exhausted. I went to the nearest walmart and purchased cleaning supplies and cleaned the room myself
I love this hotel. The indoor pool is always a hit with the grandkids. The staff is great and breakfast yummy 🤩
We have stayed at this hotel before and never any issues. This past weekend was a totally different experience from the morning of check-in. Our card was processed the AM rather than "upon arrival" as indicated on the confirmation email. When calling in to ask why (we planned on using an alternate payment at check-in) the person that answered said we are full and if your payment was declined we cancel your reservation. Then I advised we would only be staying on night versus two and we were unable to cancel that second night (even though they were sold out..) and had to pay for a night we didn't stay. The room was not of the same quality as the other times we stayed. Overall experience was not satisfactory. Very poor Customer Service experience.
I made a reservation for a Friday/Saturday night stay and was quoted a price of $121.49/night. Around midday Saturday we decided to stay an extra night. I asked the desk clerk if the room rate would be the same for Saturday night and was told 'yes.' However, when I checked out, only the first night was billed at the $121.49 rate. The other 2 nights were billed at $134.99. When I spoke to the desk clerk, she said she'd have to get with the manager, and he would decide whether to refund me. I was told later that week there would be no refund. I was given a bogus email address when I asked for the manager's contact information to discuss this matter. Nice. So, I called the corporate office for Best Western. I was told they contacted the manager at that location, who confirmed I was charged correctly. I don't know how I can reserve a room at one rate and be charged whatever they want to charge upon checkout. So that was my last visit there. My son just moved into the area, and I'll likely need someplace to stay once a month or more. But I'm going to go somewhere where they honor the quoted price for the reservation, even if I have to drive a little further to get there.
We have stayed at this location many times throughout the years when visiting family in the local area. Always an adequate and pleasant stay. Our most recent visit was disappointing at best. The vinyl wood floor of the room we stayed in was very dirty. We noticed as we walked around in white socks. The housekeeper did come and clean the next morning as requested. The AC is quite loud, water pressure low, towels threadbare, toilet seat askance etc. To top it off we advised the front desk we would be leaving a day early due to a sudden change in plans but we did give plenty of notice. They charged us the full stay even though we did not stay there one night. They said that is their policy. They have lost our business permanently. Maybe they are so successful they don't need our business but judging from the lack of patronage during our stay I don't think that's the case.
Fantastic customer service. Was in town for a wedding last weekend with about 30-40 of my friends. Sam was very hospitable and am writing this review because of him. Thank you Sam! Room was very clean and had no troubles at all. Will be staying here next time I'm in town.
It was a very relaxed and trouble free stay and the breakfast was very good. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff with only one exception was excellent. It was located perfectly for our purpose. Sam has been wonderful would stay here again
This property isn't the Ritz Carlton but was clean and we felt safe. There were minor things that could have been fixed to make the stay a little more pleasant, but nothing that was major. I have stayed here twice and would stay here again.
I rented 3 nights stay for a business trip but the business trip was cut short so I only used 2 night out of the 3 nights stay. We checked out day 2 before 1pm but we're still charged all 3 nights. I asked for a return but they said no. You can sheer a sheep every year but you can only skin a sheep once.
The room was good. The raw sewage on the sidewalk out the side door in the morning was disturbing. Poop sitting right outside the side door, very close to the only working ice machine. This is unsafe without a plumber to pump this out and into a truck made for sewage or into another drain with a hose to run it. When brought up at checkout, the clerk looked and acted like she didn't care.
When e arrived the room they put me in was not serviced. I did get moved to another room now I am being charged for a broken TV. I usually stay at Best Westerns but not anymore. Please do yourself and your family a favor and avoid this location.
They initially put us in a room with no shade. They moved us to the room directly below. They then proceeded to enact repairs to the room above at3 in the morning. The noise kept us up til 5am. We did not check in til 2am and ended up with only a couple of hours sleep before having to be back on the road
Wouldn't allow early check-in (25 minutes). When asked for additional coffee products for room and were willing to exchange decaf for regular, we were told owners didn't allow this and what you received was what you got according to the rules. Failure to clean trash from room properly. Have used this location for the last 4 years with no major problems and now this....looks like its time to take by business elsewhere.
Booked two nights at this hotel. I am a Diamond member of Best Western Rewards Program so we normally stay at Best Western. Checked in on Friday afternoon and we were given room #314. Dropped off our bags and went to dinner. Got back and settled in for the evening and then the A/C came on. It literally sounded like a buzz saw, completed blotted out the TV and normal conversation. I went to the front desk and told them of the problem and asked to switch rooms. The lady said they were booked full but she could call the manager, but he really couldn't do anything. So we set the A/C on as warm as we could take it and tried to get some sleep, it was a miserable night. We went to the front desk, (new desk agent) and asked for another room due to the A/C. She said they were full. I then asked if they can get the A/C fixed as we were booked in for that night also. She said no, that the maintenance guy was on vacation. We had breakfast and went back to the desk to see what our options were. She told us the maintenance guy could come in but he can't guarantee it will be fixed. I asked to our room charge for that night reversed and we would just check out. She said we can't as we booked a non refundable reservation. I said fine, we will go to the horse sale and when we are done we will come back use the room to shower and clean up and then just drive home. She said we would have to be back and done by 11 am so she could rebook the room. (The room we already paid for). So they had no real plans to fix the A/C and rebooked the room for someone else to suffer. So if you booked room #314 at this hotel for Saturday 7/1/2023, they made double the money on a room they knew was not satisfactory for customers to suffer. Just poor customer service, period.
Bathroom door didn't lock, TV didn't work, blackout curtains were missing from two of my family members' rooms, pool and gym were down, breakfast was less than ideal. Staff was very friendly but not helpful with getting things fixed or adjusting accomodations, even though there were plenty of rooms open.
Last minute pick. Called direct to confirm amenities. Had exactly what I needed: perfectly comfortable and quiet room, nice and safe indoor pool and hot tub for my back Food for breakfast is great. And the manager answered all my Qs.about the area and how to handle a concern with BW online booking. Will definitely return.
This was an awesome stay. Checked In quickly and friendly. The grand babies are a little rowdy but had no problems. Staff was friendly and not grumpy. The room was clean and comfortable and they had a blast in the pool. Breakfast was probably the best one yet. The eggs were nice hot and fluffy and the bacon was perfect
This hotel has been greatly neglected on a daily basis and is in badly need of management and care. All surfaces were dirty and needing cleaning. The staff seemed to be last minute volunteers as they wore very casual clothing and just did not seem professional.
This hotel is a nice place to stay while passing through. The breakfast is hot and while there are not many options, it is free. The woman at the front desk working overnight is very rude though and acts like checking you in is a chore.
We unfortunately had to make a last minute reservation for Christmas eve eve (23-24) due to weather and power outages at our home. Because of this we needed to insure that our animals were also taken care of which meant we needed to take our chameleon with us. The ladies at the front desk went above and beyond to ensure we had what we needed to make it a great stay for us, our kids and our pets. We will definitely be staying again if the need arises!
This was a relatively new hotel, with nice rooms, infrastructure, and features. It is a convenient location geographically, but I do not plan to stay here again. The breakfast had plenty of choices, but the hot food items were lukewarm and some even cold. A mixture of potatoes, vegetables, and meat was cold - I did not eat it as it was a potential health hazard. The room towels were very poor quality (rough). The hotel staff was another issue - in the morning, over half of the breakfast area seating was taken up by the hotel staff and room maids, using it as an employee staging area (and eating the breakfast) - very odd, I have never seen this procedure in any other Best Western hotel, and the conversations between staff were not appropriate for the customers to hear (family issues, medical problems, etc.). New hallway signage had been installed in the past 3 months (since an earlier stay by me), but they had simply mounted the new signs over old ones, and you could see the old signs sticking out from behind - it was poorly done. I am a frequent traveler, and a Diamond Member of Best Western hotels - I do not plan to stay at this location again, and recommend Henryetta or Decatur Texas as better locations to stay at (nearby).
I cannot believe this is the best place to stay in Bowie !! Our room on the second floor looked clean and updated but this place has major structural issues that need to be addressed by a structural engineer ! The floors are bowed and the window has shifted 2 inches off !! You can clearly see and feel the terrible drop in the floor .
The rooms were very nice. The toilet didn't flush on its own. We had to lift the tank lid and put our hands in there or add water with a bucket each time we wanted to flush. The front desk clerk said it was a known issue and didn't fix the situation while we were there. The manager stated she didn't know anything about it until we left. No credits or room adjustments were offered. We were expected to stay in a room with a toilet that didn't work correctly. Throughout the stay we noticed the employees and their families were there, from check-in with the trainee and her son, to the clerk and her family, and also the manager and her family. Many of the family members hanged out in the lobby.
When we arrived at the hotel, the lady who was working at the counter was seated at a high table in the breakfast area and appeared to be on a break or something. There was a young lady lying on the couch in the lobby (I assume a family member). The worked sprinted to the counter and apologized for not being at her "post". She was very friendly as all the staff members were...but there were some issues. For the most part our room (double king suite) was OK. The separate room with the second bed smelled musty like no one had been in there for a while. We were thinking maybe the AC needed some attention. Right next to the couch, there was a 4" wide by about 2' second with exposed subfloor. Whomever laid the laminate flooring didn't measure very well and left this gap. In the shower, the little shelf in the corner had been broken in half. This made for a dangerous situation as it is made of stone and the edges were very sharp. If someone was to slip while in that shower, it would be possible to hit their head on it and severely injure themselves. When I told them about this shelf, they stated they were aware of it... yet had done nothing to soften the edges or at leased removed the shelf before someone had an issue. The next morning we went down for breakfast and there at the same high table mentioned earlier, were large Styrofoam cups from a convenience store and restaurant, cigarettes and other things. It appears the staff regularly uses this table as their break / hangout area. There were several staff members seating around this table while we ate. This is in the middle of the breakfast area and should be being used by guests only during breakfast time. As guests would come down to check out, someone would spring over the counter to help them. This is kind of rude in my book. Again... the staff was very nice when dealing directly with us... but they need to find another place to hang out at the job.
There were several problems with our stay. The room had water leaking through the vinyl planks on the floor because of the condensation from the air conditioner...we were given towels to soak up the water. The toilet constantly ran and filled up. Told the front desk and they said they could not get a plumber out until after the weekend. Did not offer to change rooms. Went to breakfast and most of the staff and manager were seated around the table that had the phone chargers, taking up space that could have been used for customers and some person maybe a family member of the manager or one of the workers was sleeping on the sofa in the lobby.
This hotel is by far the nicest in the area. It's easy to get to, it is situated on a 1 way street but it isn't really an issue. The suite was nice and roomy, 3 queen beds and a loveseat with a pull out bed, 1 of the beds is in its own room. There is a small kitchenette. You do get the general road noise from the highway but it is not bad. The pool area is well kept and is indoors. The staff was nice, Jessica at check in was very welcoming.
ZERO problems here, very nice room and everything was as expected. Not sure what the negative reviews are about........so, I wouldn't listen to them. We had two rooms and they were both OK, none of the problems that the reviews showed.
Might have to take a cold shower. Rooms on front get a lot of highway noise. Only Luke warm coffee and not very strong or good. Got no room service and had to get clean towels from front desk. Limited TV Chanel's in room
This hotel is overpriced for the location and service and cleanliness. Don't let this place the good reputation of Best Western, which is normally one of our favorite hotels. Hire new management and get this place friendly staff and clean .
They were completely booked up due to a local tornado, but they went out of their way to be pleasant and nice. Don't know how they managed it, but you wouldn't have known they were full to the rafters except for the parking lot. Quiet and nice. Comfortable and easy to get in and out of - place to park a trailer - many thanks.
Heat/AC unit was evidently broken in the entire hotel and it left an ungodly loud noise everytime it kicked on until it shut off. Front staff lady too into her neck rubs by her assumed boyfriend to help anyone.
Multiple people stayed due to icy roads. The hotel made no attempt to clear parking lot or sidewalk, resulting in 2 of us falling trying to get to our cars. Room could have been cleaner, but bed was comfortable.
Owner absent - needed items are never addressed, Manager is a horrible person who blames others, Accessibility room is a hazard - shower leaks on bathroom floor, no hand held device, make a reservation - the room you get is anyone's guess.
Great staff, could hear everyone's tv through the walls. Beds were hard as a rock. Hotel was very clean and again the staff was very nice. Just the beds being very uncomfortable was our main issue with this hotel.
This hotel is horrible! Beautifully modeled, nice bed, clean floors a d nice people running it … but the water cooler air conditioner is ruining everything!! The moment we walked in our room it smelled of moist humidity, the floors had so much condensation that it was hard to walk! Gross!!! The tv was even wet! Someone should alert the owner!
Late check in after midnight. Refrigerator did not work. Room was not cleaned from previous guest. Fresh blood on pillow case, dead bug also on pillow case. Body hairs on sheet, counter dirty, wet used hand towel hanging from shower curtain rod, couldn't adjust air conditioning. After 3-4 trips to the lobby from 3rd floor, I decided to android the new room. So sounds 2 am got into a room where I was killing a cochroaches and other unidentifiable bugs. The the front of the air conditioning unit was falling off. Acoustics so bad with air conditioning running, sounded like sitting being the wing on a big plane. Couldn't shut air of because of heat and humidity.
There were numerous issues during our stay. The worst part was that front desk had an “oh well” attitude and told us there just wasn't anything they would or could do about any of it. We shortened our stay at the hotel because of the below issues. 1. The air conditioner in the main room was very loud, much louder than the one in the separate bedroom. We had to turn it off to be able to have a conversation. When we told front desk, they knew about the issue but there wasn't anything they would do. 2. Water leaking from the ceiling. When we told front desk, she knew the room above us had a leaking air conditioner and they weren't going to turn it off so she didn't know what they'd do. It did eventually stop so I'm not sure what was done. 3. Broke sharp tile in the shower. 4. Missing outlet cover, having exposed electrical wires. 5. Large spiders and bugs found in bed at night. Front desk informed. She didn't seem concerned with all of the rolly pollys but would “tell” someone about the spider. 6. Loose toilet seat. 7.Housekeeping came into our room twice, that we know of, even though the do not disturb was on the door. I thought that staff couldn't legally go into our room if that is up.
The a/c and pool do not work. The elevator did not work part of the time. They have rooms on their corporate website that they claim they don't actually have at the hotel. And they do not care to help problem-solve these issues. You'll get a shoulder shrug, that's how it is. Worst hotel stay ever and I travel 3x a month.
My reservation was completely wrong. The front desk said they couldn't do anything about it because they were already booked for the night. I placed the reservation a month in advance so if the order wasn't correct then they needed to notify me and have it changed over the phone. The front desk told me that it's better to call instead of doing online orders. How was I suppose to know that? I think if something is wrong on their end they should fix it not the customer. The inside of the room was not completely renovated. There was tape on the lighting the stove lights weren't even screwed in. There was no large mirror in the room to get ready. The room was either too hot or too cold. The mattress felt really cheap. Usually the mattresses are very comfortable. The crib they gave me had tape on it and the crib mattress was super old. I had to place blankets on the mattress to make it more comfortable on my baby. The couch pull out said it was a queen but it was a full and it was super hard and springy. The only thing that was reasonable was the breakfast. The water tasted awful for whatever reason! I understand they are going through renovations but I don't think you should give customers a room that isn't completely finished.
At check in my card was swiped three times because the clerk said she had an error. The first time it said approved on my side. This resulted in typing up over $800 when it should have been around 250. I was told it would be corrected at mid-night during the “night audit”. May 24, 2021 still corrected. Horrible service for multi-billion corporation. The
A hairball left on the shower wall by previous occupant. Power went off in the middle of the night, affecting five rooms, we had to move to a different room at 2:30am. Some kind of substance left on desk chair by previous occupant. No maid service at all on second day. I will never consider this location again.
Dirty. Pubic hair and dirty footprints in the tub. Drain was disgusting. Toilet wouldn't stop running. No light in the area with the bathroom sink. Night desk clerk said she would change it. She didn't. I had to get a lamp from the desk and plug it in by the sink so I could see. I had to clean my feet before getting in bed because they would be so dirty from the floor. Makes me wonder if the sheets were even clean sheets. We stayed here rather than the other options thinking it would be better quality but now I think not. This hotel is low quality and 100 a night is overpriced considering the conditions of our room. I am extremely disappointed. I'd call the owner but based on the other bad reviews, he doesn't seem to care. Do yourself favor and don't spend your hard-earned money here. Stay elsewhere in another town and contribute to the paychecks of employees who actually care and owners who value offering quality.
I have traveled the world and I can honestly say I have never been treated more rudely than “Stormy” the desk clerk here. The WiFi password doesn't work. I tried on 3 separate devices, took one device to show Stormy and ask for help. She said I was basically out of luck. OK, internet is kind of essential, so I ask to check out the next day instead of staying 2 nights. “OK so I changed your check out date in the computer and ‘hopefully' you'll get a refund for the unused night. I told her ‘hopefully' doesn't fill me with much confidence. “Well, I could just not refund you at all...I'm probably going to get in trouble as it is”. Really? That's how you speak to a guest who's having an issue? What a snotty attitude. Besides this, the walls are very thin, I can hear the conversations in the next room, water running through the pipes in the walls, etc. Strange stains on the bedspread and the whole place is just kind of yucky. Or many choices around here, but my advise is stay far away from this place and book something in another town.
Pictures on the site look nice, but this is an overpriced stay. The front desk person was quite unwelcoming. Room was the bare minimum, old. Don't stay anywhere close to the lobby, because you'll hear everything and overpay to not sleep.
The condition of the room was really bad. Drywall patches that weren't finished or painted, an electrical outlet that had some tape over it because a fixture was missing, and a towel rack in the bathroom was mostly missing no bar and one post still on the wall. Completely unacceptable.
I stayed here in August 2017, so I am repeat business. Stayed on march 13. I'm not saying the establishment was dirty, but there was some sort of stain in the shower, possibly someone spit mouthwash in the wall, it washed off. On the wall, behind the bed there was a fresh stain, looked like coke. When I woke up the next morning, the bottom of my feet were black, from walking in my room. I do question the cleanliness. The breakfast was ok, better than last time. Bed was comfortable. I'm not saying I would not stay here again, but if I were in the area I would look at other options. Like I stated before, I am repeat business.
Location is good with easy access from every direction. Nothing good to say about the breakfast although I didn't have the waffles. Employees were very courteous and professional and pleasant. We only stayed overnight.
I was abruptly awakened by the sound of a fire alarm, due to someone thinking it would be a good idea to try and smoke in their room. Once the alarm was turned off, i tried to go back to sleep but was unable to, I was not notified as to what actually happened until the next morning when i went to check out. Almost like they didn't care that i didn't get any sleep.
We have stayed at this hotel many times and have always enjoyed it. This time our room had roaches crawling on the nightstand next to bed. Called front desk and they moved us to a new room and did not have the problem in this room. Staff (Tammy) is very accommodating to your needs. She always go above and beyond to make your stay the best she can. This hotel is a little pricey but it is the newest in town.
The staff on the property is amazing! They are very friendly, helpful, & accommodating. Every day we came back from our day out our room was spotless! Great group of employees. They made our family feel like we were apart of theirs!
The staff of phenomenal, decor is great, bedding is perfect. The only issues are the breakfast is sub par. Mostly microwaved food, nothing fresh. At over $100 for a basic room I expected better, especially as the hotel was not in a high priced area. The floor plan has enough room for a walk in shower which would have merited a 5 star review but instead I was greeted with a porcelain tub/shower combo.
Found live scorpion in room and desk clerk said they had an infestation. Back door propped open which made me feel unsafe. Air conditioner made so much noise I couldn't sleep. Noise from other rooms was bad.
This place is unbelievably unprofessional. Long story short, in 3 days they charged my card 3 different 10k charges. I brought it to their attention after the first charge and realized quickly I was getting nowhere with them. I called Capital One, they did a conferece call with Best Western and thought they had the problem solved. Day 2, another 10k charge. Called BW again, manager was rude and unprofessional and finally told us "I don't know why we are charging you". Capital one again handled the charge. Day 3, another charge for 9k. UNREAL! In the span of 3 days I have had 30k charged to this card after bringing it to their attention each time. I had the card shut off which put our employees in a bind not having a credit card. Fast forward to today, another charge was attempted on our card but declined because the card is no longer active. We had another company warn us about this hotel, we should have listened. The oilfield is busy in this area, BW is losing a large amount of money by running customers off due to the headache of watching your bill and arguing with them weekly over charges. We moved all of our crews out to a different hotel across the street.
Clean room friendly staff good value for the money. There is really only one other choice if you need to stay in Bowie and it is not good at all so I recommend the best western we did not use any amenities just sleepy there
Everything was clean. We enjoyed both the pool and the workout facilities. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent. This is an excellent place to stay. It is easy to get to and a short drive to restaurants.
I arrived along with my daughter on the early hours on the 28th of July after driving over 16 hours I went to trey to get a room at this hotel the lady on duty was very rude from the beginning we spoke to her she never responded back just ask what do u all need so we her actually we need two rooms she had a problem trying to figure out the cost of the rooms, then she stated if we were paying in cash we needed an additional $100.00 dollars for a deposit at this I stated that's really crazy then laugh she became very hostile toward my daughter and I and told us both to leave. She would not serve us.Now my daughter and I are both African-American and a Veteran I have visited many hotels but none as racist AS THIS ONE EVER!aND May I add I was ther to visit a very sick relative who was in a rehabilitation center there and just 5 mins away we had to go and to find another hotel farther awayThat lady on duty that night was the most rudest clerk I ever encounted.
Clean, Secure, Great Value. Quality. A bit of issue with AC but all in all very nice. Would stay there again. Everyone nice and helpful. Breakfast area nice and clean. The rooms and bathrooms were of good size and the fitness center was very clean.
Room very comfy and clean. Free Breakfast. Staff very good at their jobs. Very good price for the room. Room very large and beds very comfortable. Staff knew the area well. Sent us to a good restaurant at good prices.
Very nice! Checked in Tammy was quick and got me a room with three beds. Clean roomy no grumpy people pool was clean and maintained well. Breakfast was good. Kids loved Texas shape waffle. When there is five kids people can get grumpy but no one said anything. A very pleasant stay
We loved our stay at Best Western Inn and Suites in Bowie, Texas! We enjoyed a great pool, fantastic hot tub and wonderful breakfast with several options, both hot and cold! The room was clean and comfortable!
My husband and I spent the night here last night. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and fresh smelling. The bed in our room was comfortable and the complementary breakfast was about what you would expect: waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, etc. The reason I gave this a very good rating rather than an excellent was that we never could access the WiFi (good thing for the hotspot on my cellphone) and the fact that the hotel was very loud. We were close to the stairway, and people were slamming the doors all night long, not to mention the herd of elephants that were in the room above us. At first, we thought the exercise room had to be above us and people were running on the treadmill so we went upstairs to check it out. Nope, just another room. We decided it was a family with wild children. I would stay here again if we were traveling through the area.
We always stay here when we go to Bowie! Friendly Staff! Great indoor pool and jacuzzi! I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a nice, clean, friendly place to stay! The front desk lady that works until 7am is very personable!
Either myself or my family have stayed at this hotel many times over the past 10 years. We are never disappointed in the service we receive. Over the years we have become friends on a first name basis because there is obviously not much turnover and that is nice to deal with the same folks each time we visit.
The quality of the Best Western in Bowie was excellent. My family and I enjoyed our overnight stay and felt refreshed the following day. I was surprised to find a full size refrigerator, microwave oven, full size kitchen stove along with a kitchen sink in a large single room. Our room contained two very nice queen sized beds which provided a comfortable sleep. The continental breakfast was excellent and was much more than just coffee and donuts. The continental breakfast was a real breakfast and there was plenty to eat. Eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, fruit, toast, bagels, and much more.
The staff was very friendly and courteous. They greeted us with a big smile and a warm Texas welcome, made us comfortable and at home.Would stay there again. The breakfast was good and they kept everything filled up,nothing ever ran out while breakfast was being served.
We checked in later, but had a friendly desk attendant. The breakfast was great! Lots of options for my kids to choose from. They were having trouble with the elevator getting stuck and not moving between floors (the doors would open, but not move). They kept trying to fix it and thankfully the hotel is only 3 stories high!
Noisy very early morning and p[rice changes over night You are given a Price with Taxes when you check in and they hold your credit card so your have to sign in the morning when yopu check out only to find the room rate went up, I suggest don't sleep here and you will be OK
If you find yourself traveling through northern Texas and you are in the Bowie area between Fort Worth and Wichita Falls this is a great place to stay ! The hotel property is in great shape. The rooms are quite comfortable and quiet.
If I'd followed some of the reviews I read on trivago we would t have stayed here. But glad we did. The room was clean, lots of renovations going on. Staff was nice. Only issue I had was the people above us had 6 kids and since they are removing all the carpets - it was noisy until the kids went to bed.
Took my five grand babies for a vacation outing. We were given an awesome room very roomy. The pool was cold but it's a 100 in Texas so who cares lol. We we're given a complimentary care package of water and cheese sticks kids loved it. Breakfast was good and we had a great time.
The Best Western Inn and Suites in Bowie is always my go to place we coming back to visit family and friends. The service is always exceptional and rooms and very well taken care of by the staff. I would highly recommend staying here.
The room was nice & clean - except for the long black hair on the ?clean? white sheet. Somebody's small dog started high-pitch yapping about 5am & it continued off & on until we checked out. Ahead of us in line checking out, was an elderly woman who was very upset because she was being charged $30 a day more than she had been quoted. Breakfast was not good.
An excellent hotel with a very courteous and helpful staff. Clean comfortable rooms. A filling breakfast in the morning. Quiet and extremely comfortable. Great pool and fitness center that the grandkids really love. We will definitely make this a place to stay on our return trip
The Best Western Bowie Inn and Suites, Bowie, Texas has been our meeting place for our immediate family gathering and visiting before going our extended family reunion. We have all been very satisfied with everything. It is easy access off HWY 287 North at Bowie. Lots of antique stores, great dining options and great sight seeing.
This is a typical Best Western that's privately owned. Nice rooms. Great beds. Cleaning staff does a great job. A little bit of highway noise but you get used to it. The staff is what makes the motel great. Disappointed in how the new managers treat them though. Verbally abusive and not quiet about it. Watched him make the front desk girl cry being a bully then blame her tears on her not leaving personal issues at home. Very hard for me to not rip him a new one in front of other guests. Good hot breakfast and a pool and workout room. They need to fix the dryer in the guest laundry. All in all a nice place to stay. Except for the bully manager. He needs to go play in traffic
We were in a hurry to get home as NE Florida had a hurricane while we were on vacation, still had about 1000 miles to travel. When we told the girl at the reservation desk our story, she checked with her manager and they gave us a discount. it was so heart warming for them to do that. The room was clean and comfortable, good breakfast and good people! Would definitely stay there again.
Easy location and nice spot to lay your head. Good breakfast and nice employees. Clean and has the usual amenities. Guest dryer didn't work during my stay but front desk was able to get my clothes dry.
The Hotel is very will run, a really good staff, the room very neat I did not have any disappointments . I have stayed a number of times in the past with no problems. It is an excellent location for the business that I'm there for!
This hotel started off as an excellent hotel about 5 years ago. My son and his family live here and I visit at least 2 times a year. Always have stayed at this hotel, mostly for convenience. However, I am here, right at this moment. My room has not been touched for 2 days and tonight it reeks of smoke. It is supposed to be a smoke free hotel, but I can hardly breathe in here. My husband and I leave here by 11:00 every morning (today it was around 10:00) The maid was in the hallway when we left and we told her we were leaving now so our room could be cleaned. She never came in. When we got back tonight about 7:00 p.m. our beds were still unmade and the room had not been touched. Yesterday, we left around 11:00 a.m. and when we got back around 7:00 p.m., our room had not been touched. We went down to get clean towels for the morning and complained to the desk clerk. She said, "I suppose you had a do not disturb on your door?" We said, yes until 11:00.. and asked, "don't you clean rooms after 11:00 a.m.?" She stomped away and pretty much threw the towels at us. We probably won't be staying here again.... In addition to all this... the toilet is not hooked up correctly and comes up off the floor when you get up and down. And.. there is dog poop in the corner of the room behind the door.
This hotel is really the only hotel in town. It's on the highway. We had a king room with a sofa bed. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable. The room had a fridge. You couldn't hear the highway. Breakfast was not great and not that clean.
I needed a place to stay close to the area that I was working as an appraiser. I checked in with excellent care even though the wifi was down in the area. The hotel was full of lots of younger men but I was never uncomfortable. The parking area was well lit & the lobby was very inviting. My room was clean & the temperature was easily controlled. The bed was comfortable & the breakfast made a great start to my day. Will definitely stay there again.
Toilet stopped up in room. had bad odor. coffee was hard and had not been replaced in a while. Clerk tried to unstop toilet without success. Manager unstopped toilet with snake but toilet stopped up again. Staff made no effort to clean up mess after maintenance. Did replace towels that we used to clean up.
The carpet was filthy. It needed shampooed but it needed vacuumed just as much. The tub was slow draining, the freezer didn't freeze, the heater smoked up the room but worst of all was a blood spot on the vanity. The worst! The beds were comfy and the staff was polite.
We stayed unexpectedly on a Friday night. It looked updated and was very clean. The room we had actually had three beds, one in a separate room. It was definitely set up for long stays with a bigger than usual kitchen area, almost full sized refrigerator and full sized microwave. The only real downside to it was the low pressure water system. The toilets were bad enough to hold down the handle and the shower pressure was very disappointing.
Met expectations. Only negatives were: a stranger sent to our room just because stranger said he was looking for someone on 3rd floor. We feel it was due to lack of training of front desk staff. Could improve breakfast selection, and extend breakfast service period.
Nice clean room for the money. Bowie Texas is 40 minutes from Wichita Falls Texas so it was close to the Hotter Than Hell Hundred. The Best Western is right on the highway with easy access on and off.
better arrive early to be able to back in from access road thru narrow parking lot to park 18 wheel oil transport truck this was the only problem that I encountered and is not likely that I will go back because it was not safe to park truck but is the only nice motel for 30 miles
Very nice rooms, great breakfast, exceptional staff. Right value for the money. Rooms are big. Most have Queen or King bed and a sofa bed. All are updated with nice fixtures. Beds are very comfortable. Quiet. Drapes close all the way to keep light out. A/C is quiet.
We have entertainers stay here and they are always treated with respect and never any problems. I always recommend Best Western to family friends and everyone that is looking for a nice place to stay.
The hotel was clean and in a convenient area. I got a good rate. Complimentary breakfast was OK, but it could have been fresher. There was a glitch with my reservation at check in, but Robyn and Mario handled it. I would return and recommend. One thing, not related to the quality of the establishment, is that I was talking to other guest who were truckers and had to park their truck near-by. They advised that there was no truck parking at the hotel, and they advertise that there is.
We recently stayed at this hotel along with other members of our family for a family event. On the positive side, we found the staff to be accommodating and friendly. On the negative side we and several of our family found significant amounts of mold in the grout around the tub area which was disturbing. We found the quality of the "full breakfast" to be below that of the high quality other Best Westerns where we have stayed in the past. The eggs were runny and the potato patties were over cooked and hard. They also seemed stingy in the quantity of towels placed in the room - only two, especially considering they have a pool.
Our room at this hotel was large with a comfortable bed. However the room smelled of mildew and had a nasty patch in the rug where something bad had happened in the past. Breakfast was good and the staff friendly. Probably another room would have been OK.
Way overpriced motel. The front desk clerk doubles as a maintenance person. I needed to interrupt the floor mopping in order to get checked in. OK rooms but refrigerator did not work. I was too tired to change rooms or hotels. Avoid this place.
Stayed for one night in room 323. The room was very dirty with food on the floor between the bed and nightstand. The stove and microwave were both nasty and several of the light switches did nothing. This hotel was built with cheap materials and the workmanship is shoddy. The rooms have no soundproofing so you can hear road noise from the highway all night long. Pass this one by!
Bowie ( knife) who knew? Nice little city in Bowie Texas. Worth a stop. We were heading west and found this along the route. If we ever go through Bowie again we will stay here. It might even be a nice place to stay for more then an overnighter....
When we initially checked in the woman was very nice, but then asked for our AARP card. I told her we did not belong and she looked displeased for a sec. At that time I pointed out their website said AARP/senior, and the senior rate generally applied to folks 65 and older (AARP is 50 and older), and my husband, who was ultimately paying the bill, was over 65. She went on to tell me that they were cracking down on those who did not have an AARP card, but she was going to go ahead and give us that rate. I must admit I was a bit thrown by this, but she remained friendly, and I decided that she did not make the rules so don't sweat it. When we got to the room we were greeted by a burst of icy air as we entered. I went straight to the a/c and turned it up a bit, and never gave it a second thought. The room itself surprised us and we were very impressed. It was very clean and very spacious. Plenty of non cramped seating which allowed for a very comfy place to relax and eat. The bathroom was very clean, and we had plenty of water pressure and hot water. It came with all the extras...shampoo and such. We had been on the road for a very long time that day, so all we wanted to do was eat, shower and go to bed which is just what happened. Since I either had shoes or house slippers on that evening I had no idea what was happening... The bed itself had very clean sheets, and great blankets, but admittedly it was a bit too firm for old, arthritic bodies. We have slept on a lot worse over the years, but it was hard to find a comfy position to fall asleep. About 2:00AM I hopped out of bed (I took the a/c side of the bed) to run to the restroom. As my feet hit the floor...squish. The carpet was wet. I stood up and took a few steps...the carpet was SOAKED. Apparently the a/c had frozen up and was now in defrost mode. The floor on the entire side of my bed was absolutely soaked with very cold water. It woke me right up! I was sooo tired. I took care of bathroom business and then decided there was nothing the hotel could do about it at such a late hour, and I was not about to awaken my husband to change rooms in the middle of the night, so I simply squished my way back to bed, and lay there awake for the rest of the night. The following morning we went down to an adequate breakfast (the usual hotel fare), and then I went to the front desk to explain what had happened. They were very nice and did apologize, but that was it. I figured they would at least knock the pet fee off the bill for the inconvenience, but no compensation was offered, and I did not make an issue over it. Oh well! Overall, however it was not a bad experience, it just wasn't a great one. Will we return if traveling through Bowie again? I'd say, "Yes!" We would give it a second chance.
Very good value. The room was clean, up to date. The bed was comfortable and the bed linens were superb. The bathroom was clean, up to date; good quality towels; excellent water pressure and adjustable shower head. The room did lack a TV channel list so one had to hunt for shows and channels or wait for the built in guide to do its scroll.
Room needed a good cleaning: need to wash curtains and especially shower curtain! I went to the hot tub, which was lukewarm and never heated up. I was looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub. The breakfast was normal for hotels. Just an average hotel. Not bad, not great.
We always stay here when we go to Bowie for Trade Days. It has always been a good stay. The breakfast is always good and many people are there enjoying it when we go. The Hot tub and swimming pool are nice to relax in also.
although the bed needs replaced tha staff an appearance were exceptional! I was impressed with their level of caring and how much they all seem to love their job, a few rowdy guests you could do with out and a mattress upgrade would be a perfect place to stay!!
The room was great. The Beds were great and the bathroom was well stocked and clean. Did not care for the breakfast. the Bacon was too thin and the microwave did not work for me it may have been ok but I could not get it to work.
Pretty good value. Very nice staff. Needs improvement with their free bkfst items offered and more comfortable mattresses. Bathroom lighting needs to be brighter. Overall I'd go back as it's very convenient for my visit with nearby family.
Made a trip to see our son in the Air Force. The trip was not uneventful but our stays in your motels were great for overnight stops after long daily drive, usually around 450 miles. I am 80 years old and needed these stops.
We stayed here during a baseball tournament and we were very pleased. The staff was very, very helpful and kind. The free breakfast was great!! Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, cereals, bagels, waffles and drinks. The rooms were updated and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The location is excellent and I highly recommend staying here if ever in the area.
Staff is fantastic. Rooms and lobby were very nice. Pool area for kids very well done. Overall for a hotel out in the middle of Texas it was very nice. Staff were great. Very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was well done. If you have to stay in Bowie or just looking for a break from a long drive I recommend this hotel.
We called and nancy took care of us. Treated us all good. Me and my five grand babies. The pool was awesome. Nancy treated us great. Was an awesome night to end spring break. So much better than our stay last year. Great job will tell everyone
Very kind staff. Rooms were clean. and Service was exceptional! Will be happy to stay again. Location was convenient. Room was big. Cooperated with my chaotic schedule and offered the most hospitable customer service I have witnessed in a long time. Thanks for the enjoyable stay!
I was there for a funeral. I was definitely mistreated by the staff and it was not dealt with by the management. I did not feel safe staying there, knowing that the staff would walk in the room when they knew I was in the room. The customer should not suffer insult and embarrassment because hotel staff does not communicate with each other. The room we checked into the first night was not clean. It was also a more expensive room than we had asked for. They gave us no compensation for our inconveniences.
girls at front desk not very professional, to much body art, cigarettes on desk, slow ,not sure sheets were changed from previous occupant. you can look around and tell things are not taken care of in the manner they should be.
Arrival check in was very good and pleasant. Room was of good size and quiet. Upon looking around the room found dirty wash cloth hanging from shower curtain. The smoke detector was inoperable due to missing battery. Bathroom sink plunger was missing so if you used the stopper in the sink you had to pry it up to drain sink .Tried to use the hot tub, but but too many soap suds were produced. Breakfast was good and check out was very fast and easy.
Room was roomy and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and had a restful night. Especially liked having the sofa in the room. Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was lacking in flavor. Will definitely stay here again.
I had a horrible experience at Bowie-Best Western. There was no one at the Front Desk-had to wait 7 min. for the clerk to show up. Ist room-tv broken, AC broken 2nd room-internet intermittent, AC broken, dirty, stained carpet & furniture. noisy hallway They overcharged me by $37 from my online reservation. I brought all of these issues to the attention of the Manager. He said he would address the issues with his staff and refund my room rental. Surprise-It's been 2 weeks & he never refunded my money. My Advice-Choose Any Other Hotel!
This hotel has not mowed their grass since last winter and it's Sept. Where you are suppose to walk your pet, the grass is so high they can't walk in it. Pipes are also laying around all over the pet walking area and there is no other place to walk them. The workout room has no air. Who wants to workout in a room that is over 90 degrees. Guess is you don't care to mow, you don't care about the hotel either.
The Best Western in Bowie was perfect for a 1-night stay on a business trip. The hotel is newer, right off the highway and clean, with friendly staff. The rooms are bigger than I expected - especially the bathrooms. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked really well! The breakfast was ok, definitely stick with waffles, cereal or baked goods. The bacon was a little odd.
Spent a week traveling through Texas visiting small towns like Bowie. The hotel was right off the highway. Staff friendly and cookies before dinner. This Best Western was the nicest, cleanest that we stayed in. Best coffee in the morning too!
We have stayed here twice. Very satisfied in general. The service staff were most kind and helpful. For instance, the coffee maker in our room was not working (and they were unable to get it working), the manager on duty assured me that I could call the desk any time of day or night and they would deliver hot coffee to me. The hot breakfast is good and contains a good variety of food. The dining area is rather small so seating can be a challenge at certain times of the morning.
Wonderful staff. Very clean. The people go "overboard" to make your stay enjoyable. Older property that has been updated. Affordable. Pet friendly. We were there for a bike ride. They had a early breakfast. My grandkids had a great time in the pool. Will stay there again next year.
Very nice. Lots of folks here for the Hotter Than Hell Hundred Bike Ride at Wichita Falls, TX. Hotel started breakfast at 4am for those bikers. Very nice people, just like you expect when you are in a small Texas town.
Guest services were very kind. I've worked hotels for 3 years and I was very pleased. Only complaints would be about the room and the hot tub. King suite with a pull out couch. The pull out part is right in front of the air conditioner. I had to use 4 blankets bc of the location of the couch. The hot tub handle was very loose and is in an awkward spot for people trying to get in and out. My mother fell in to the hot tub because of this.
I checked in for a family reunion and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. I work in hotels so it is always nice to be greeted with a smile when I walk into another hotel. The rooms were clean and decently sized and breakfast was fresh and full.
We spent 1 night in this hotel and arrived very late. The room was nice and the staff was very friendly. They served a very good breakfast. The room was very reasonably priced. Access is just off the highway. I would stay at this hotel again.
They may insult you at check in. although my daughter in law had paid for our room in advance, we were asked for another credit card in case we vandalized the room or intended to steal anything. i have never experienced this in all my 75 years. i may be old and slow and handicapped, but have never been, nor will ever be, a thief or ever tore up anyones' property. this was insulting and did not leave a good taste in our mouth.
Tiny pillows, a horrible sofa bed, and inconvenient access made this stop less than stellar. We had booked the room as a "just in case" place to stop and breakup the long drive home. We apparently missed some fine print related to the booking that "could be cancelled without charge" and were forced to use the room or pay for it anyway. The most disappointing BW we've stayed at. Pool was frigid, hot tub effervesced with too much chlorine and there were no towels. the reservation was for the three of us but only two towels in the room and they had "no pillows available for the sofa bed".
It's was awesome experience for me and my companions .. The staff was extremely mindful and cordial .. The most vital rooms were spotless cut .. Ac,fridge and microwave up and coming.. Pool was excessively astonishing .. !! Must run with your companions or family .. It's extremely close to downtown Philly .. Awesome administration !!
The BW Bowie is a clean modern hotel off US287. It is somewhat inconvenient due to the traffic pattern but a nice property. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a nice seating and work area in the room. The bath linens are limited as they are staying with the "green" theme. Bath supplies; bath soap, shampoo etc are inadequate so bring your own and don't arrive before 3pm because they will charge you an additional fee to check in.
Our stay was very nice. The best was the breakfast. The breakfast had a great selection, including scrambled eggs and bacon. The worst was the exercise room. It was too hot and the equipment needed servicing.
Very Very friendly staff! The rooms were very clean and comfortable. They have wonderful satellite television. There is a coffee pot in the room. The bed was comfortable. The shower was hot. The buffet breakfast was good. I stay here every time I visit my grandmother in this area. They also have an indoor swimming pool as well as a fitness area.
Despite the fact that I had done my examination before our trek and had perused about their late redesigns, I was still pleasingly amazed by how extraordinary this motel was! The beds were new postherpetic, there were various outlets for every one of our gadgets, the spot was perfect and the shower was incredible! We were situated in a solitary story segment, as well, so didn't have any uproarious neighbors or smoking occupants underneath or above! Rested extraordinary and was extremely satisfied!
This hotel is very clean, the people that work their are very professional, helpful and nice. The pool and hot tub are awesome. We loved the beds and pillows! The shower was hot and steady! The breakfast was awesome. They had good coffee in the breakfast area. I don't think breakfast is served until 6 but we were up at 5am and breakfast was out and hot. We were glad to have something to eat after a stressful night! Thank the good people that manage and take care of the facility for us!
On our over night travel to Texas we decided to stop and rest before returning home ! We did not make a reservation just dropped in to the Best Western , we enjoyed great service comfortable, clean , fresh room ! Not over priced , breakfast was nice and hot and fresh . We have never stayed at a Best Western before but I will start taking a look at the chain a little closer through out our travels !!
Most comfortable king bed I've ever been on in any hotel. It even beat out the Wynn Hotel in Vegas! This hotel is basic but yet still updated and simple. Desk clerk very friendly like most Texans are!
I stayed here for one night on 05/22/16 while on business. There isn't much to chose from in Bowie, TX! Cleanliness was the problem, especially the bathroom. Shower curtain was very moldy. The room needs to be updated. TV is an old non-digital type and reception was terrible. The bed was not that comfortable. It rained overnight and flooded the kitchen area. So much for breakfast! Wifi was poor. Might have been due to the weather outside. Overall, I don't think I will stay here again. Not that cheap either. Total with AAA discount and taxes was $91 for a king, nonsmoking.
The Owner of the company that I work with and I went a auto auction in Nacona ,Texas ans I was given the task of planning the trip by car from Tampa , Florida to Nacona , Texas ...so I made all of the reservations for the over night stays....I picked the Best Western in Bowie , Texas for several reasons... The location..the price... and the most important thing ...THE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM DARLENE!!!!! She let me know in advance that we had FREE HOT BREAKFAST EVERY DAY ...they also had a pool , workout room and they were right on the Interstate...and the Best Western would be very easy to find...and she was right...Everything in that Best Western was perfect ...the room and the decor and beds were great ...the free breakfast was great and the customer service was 5 STARS ...It also was an easy drive to and from the auto auction.... THIS BEST WESTERN IN BOWIE , TEXAS is a #1 place to stay!!!!
Very comfortable hotel. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable but in desperate need of better quality bed linens, very thin and worn as well as pillows! Breakfast was very good. Bed linens are my only complaint.
The hotel was nice over all, but pillows are horrible. My king size bed had 3 roughly 16" square pillows that were flat as a pancake. I called to the office to check the availability of additional pillows, and we told that they had none. I would rate this hotel much higher...but pillows are a HUGE sicking point with me.
Incredible lodging, was my first time here, my room was spotless the bed agreeable, staff was amicable, and we had an extraordinary night rest.We would stay again wen we are in the zone. Much obliged for the ideal sit tight. We cherish it, and we will come back once more
We were having a Family Gathering at Dessert Willow Ranch and stayed at Best Western Bowie Inn and Suites, in Bowie, TX. We could not have had a better staff at a hotel. So nice, pleasant, and helpful. Our rooms were clean and the bed was a little firm for me but overall we would go back.
I took my four grand babies there to swim in the heated pool and it was so cold their lips turned blue. A lady didn't like what my six year grand daughter had on so I got her a shirt. There are no dress codes posted, but there is a sign that says no drinks and the lady was drinking something in a coffee cup and her husband or mate was drinking a beer. Jessica didn't say anything to them about that. That was the front desk person. I felt like they were trying to get rid of my grand babies. It was a very bad experience
A colleague who resides nearby recommended this hotel because of its cleanliness and location. I too would recommend it. The staff was very polite and accommodating. Room was very clean. Breakfast was below par, but that's not the reason one would stay here. The staff called me by name even when not presented with any paperwork or info that would prompt them to do so. They were extremely helpful otherwise. I could not close the curtains to block out the light from the parking lot but that wasn't bad.
A good clean, pleasant stay. 200 characters are more than needed to review our stay. All was as expected of a middle class hotel. Exactly what we wanted and needed. All was good, but they were inflexible about our unused second night. Not even partial refund.
Great location, quiet, comfortable bed, fantastic breakfast items. Indoor pook and hot tub. Lobby filled with reading materials and big screen tv and sofas. AARP nightly rate is a great value. Close to downtown and Second Mon Trade Day grounds. Try to go see the new large BOWIE KNIFE on display.
Very Nice and clean hotel. Flat screen TV's throughout. I Didn't try the breakfast, but the lady at the front counter made delicious cookies for everybody, in the evening when I checked in! Outside is clean, and well kept. They have a nice pool. And.......The lady at the front desk was very nice! Room was nice, clean, and had things I didn't expect......Microwave, Small Re fridge, big Flat Screen TV!. And.......a comfy bed. I'll come back again!
Nice Stay for family, near main highway - well done breakfast. Indoor pool, large mini-Frig. comfortable climate control rooms. Very good overall facility. We would love to stay at the suites again the next time we are passing through.
A fine Best Western Hotel used for restful evenings after working all day long. Not looking for anything to do but rest, read mail, do a little business over the internet, complete some billing and get a good nights' rest before repeating the whole thing the very next day.
Headed in to Wichita Falls, Tx we realized there were no hotels due to a Tennis Tournament/Championship over the weekend. We finally found a hotel room in Bowie at the Best Western and it was CLEAN WITH A VERY COMFORTABLE BED. Would stay again! We did not have time for breakfast on our way out this morning but at the front desk they offered a Grab and Go Bag with a bottle of water, cereal bar, and a banana. Nice!
this was a quick trip to bowie and Darlene, the receptionist was very accommodating getting my reservation set up, putting me on the floor I requested and having things ready. I had no problems with anything while there except the side entrance door automatic opener was no operating properly.
Just had a one night stay and found the Best Western to be clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, the usual breads and waffles, cereal, typical for what I expect. Coffee, juice, a good selection.
This location was clean and quiet the staff was friendly and helpful. I stay in hotels with work appx 20-25 nights per month and when Best Western is an option I will stay there. Overall the service and quality of BW I find is more consistent and reasonably affordable.
If your travels take you to Bowie or Nacona, Texas, the Best Western hotel in Bowie is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable and the American breakfast enough to start your day.
We have stayed at this Hotel several times and have always come back to it. It is always clean and very nice people working there. We enjoy staying at this Best Western! It has a very nice indoor pool and a great fitness center. The Breakfast is always very good.
hotel was the nicest in Bowie. Nice swimming pool and hot tub, rooms clean and comfortable. We had 3 rooms, and all rooms were very nice. The breakfast at the hotel was included, and was also good. They had the standard help yourself buffet, but was fresh food.
The clerk was very helpful, pleasant and compassionate without being intrusive. The ceiling in our room had a very large area where it was apparent that there was water damage. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good for the type of items offered.
Very good breakfast. Large rooms. Family lives in town so this newer motel was a much needed facility for Bowie. We were in a double room and my bed needed a comfort mattress top but other than that no complaints. Easy check in and easy check out. Will stay here again or recommend it to family and friends.
This Best Western Hotel is very close to our family. There are few other hotels in the area. When this hotel was first open to the public, it was clean and attractive. However, our recent lodging has been less than acceptable. The mold around the shower and bath tube is disgusting! The use of bleach would fix the problem.
we had a great experience even though we had to stay extra day due to business failure. The breakfast was very good and rooms were great. No problems whats so ever. The clerk spoke Spanish which surprise me . Very Polite and helpful Overall experience very good
Nice, clean motel with easy access. Continental Breakfast was fair/average, however, there were lots of options to choose from. There was only one waffle maker which resulted in quite a wait every morning. Business center printer didn't work and was out of toner.
Needed a respite from a crowded busy day of wedding. Found it at BW Bowie, TX. Thanks for the warm room, hot showers and ample towels. The breakfast selections were many and tempting and the coffee was HOT.
Since this was supposed to be a one day trip and the weather turned bad driving up there, I just took a chance on getting a room for the night. Usually, the 2nd Monday weekend in this town there are not normally rooms available and they also were having softball tournaments from out of state in the town, so I was very lucky to get the room when they had so many out of state people staying there. I was very pleased and comfortable and felt extremely safe during this visit.
Plumbing issues caused us to have to vacate our home overnight. There are several hotels in our small town but we have looked for Best Western when we traveled so it was our choice here. I am currently on crutches and they were beyond helpful--even offered to fix my plate for breakfast. Smiles from them and from us too.
Great personnel, Nice property, Breakfast was a little weak but OK. Social hour was a pleasant surprise. I would recommend and I will stay again in the future. Front desk check-in/out was quick & easy.
Room was very roomy and well appointed and cleanBreakfast was very poor, "hot breakfast with poor meat product and no eggs. Very difficult parking lot if towing a trailer. Staff was friendly and relatively efficient.
Stopped in for the night and had a wonderful experience. The front desk was very helpful with helping us find a restaurant and with other questions we had. The room overall was comfortable and clean. The pool area was very nice, waterfalls into the pool and after riding their the hot tub was especially nice. Right off the highway but close to several places to eat and fuel up for the next day.
When I walked in, I thought this would be great. Pretty paint, good furniture arrangement, . . . BUT the bathroom was a mess. The caulk job was so bad that it was entertwined with the mold growing. Too bad - evidently no regular cleaning staff. The few employees we saw were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was fine. There was WiFi but it was slow. The walls were thin but the people in the next room kept their TV low. I would only stay again if I had to stop in Bowie - otherwise I'd go to another town.
Having stayed at this property before, felt like it was ok , as not alot of hotels in the area. Bed good and rates ok. Rooms need updating . Breakfast ususal offerings. ( sorry the coffee not too good). Would stay again though,
I have stayed at this hotel many times to visit family in Bowie. It has always been a pleasant place to stay, reliably clean and comfortable with competent staff. My recent experience was acceptable. The hotel is now in need of being refurbished, particularly in light of the rates charged.
My husband and an Aunt & Uncle stayed at this hotel while in town for a funeral in Bowie, check in was smooth and the breakfast was okay. Coffee was nice and hot with a variety of creamers available. Would stay here again.
when I first got to the motel, there was a slight "hiccup" in my reservation. Since I have some disabilities, I always ask for a first floor room. The lady at the reservation desk was insisting I get either the 2nd or 3rd floor. I informed her that I had requested and was reassured when I called in my reservation to the motel, that it would be absolutely no problem putting me there. So the lady checking me in called the manager and spoke to him about what I wanted and that there were indeed notes on my reservation showing I requested the 1st floor since being disabled. The kind manager asked her my name and she replied with it. I believe since I've stayed there several times (no less than 6 times a year), that he remembered me and told her to put me in room 101. I had only requested 2 queen beds and a fridge and they had told me all rooms had a mini fridge and microwave, but much to my surprise, they put me in what I would classify as a small suite. It had a full size fridge, countertop with stovetop and a microwave!! I was afraid that being at the first room and next to the dining room might be a bit noisy but it was not at all! One of the best experiences I've had in quite a while and I've stayed in several other cities and motels this year and I can say with all honesty it was a pleasure staying at the Best Western in Bowie Texas. The staff were very friendly yet professional and the warm cookies that were offered me on Sunday evening was quite a treat. I have a couple more trips to Bowie coming within the next couple of months so I will indeed be staying there. The only complaint I would have was the WIFI was not very strong and couldn't do much on my laptop. But, perhaps it was just the room so it wasn't that big a deal. I'll try again next time I'm there. Here's gratitude and thank you to the manager and staff and I'll see you all soon.
We stayed here because it is the best hotel in Bowie. My father passed away and was from Bowie so we had the funeral there. The little girl at the front desk was friendly, but it was here first night by herself and she was very nervous. We get into the room and it has a very stale odor like someone smoked in it. Latter that night, I took my shoes off and the carpet was wet. It seems the air condition was leaking. Also you can tell there has been a lot of wear and tear on this hotel. The breakfast was ok. That being said it still seems to be the best place to stay in Bowie.
