Best Western Bishop Lodge

I always love staying here. It is very convenient, excellent beds and all I would expect from the chain. What made this visit special was two issues. First, Lesli, the regional manager, spent a load of time with me settling a third party bogus billing issue that I had. Her care and help blew me away. Next, the breakfast area was overseen by a lady that treated me like a guest to her home. She made sure I had all my needs taken care of while keeping the place spotless.

The room exceeded our expectations. It was clean and well kept. All the staff we encounted provided friendly and excellent service. The free breakfast was quite a variety and filling. The breakfast host was very friendly and helpful. We stayed for three nights.

This hotel has a nice location, but the rooms tend to be rather dark and unfortunately, the floors were extremely dirty even after we requested housekeeping clean the floors. Our feet would be black before we would get into bed at night.

We stay at this hotel every year and the service is good, the location is right downtown and central to many restaurants. The room is well presented and has everything we need. The internet has always worked and the TV is a good size. The bed was comfortable. My only problem, which is a persistent issue at this hotel, is the heating/AC unit is very noisy and it is often hard to sleep. It has been reported before, but nothing seems to happen. I like the location but am tempted to switch hotels because of the noisy heating system which is 5 feet from the bed..

You will never go wrong using Best Western Hotels. The BW Bishop Lodge has awesome and very accommodating staff. They made our stay very relaxing, comfortable and pleasant. We will surely come again to this particular Best Western Bishop Lodge. Thank you.

Property tired. Booked for family of 4 and only one bed made up, had to ask for extra bedding and towels. Everything seemed to be too difficult for young receptionist. However manager was helpful. Breakfast was good. Room good size but would not stay here again.

1-Insects and gnats flew over my food and over where I sat 2-The malfunctioning refrigerator made lots of noise which didn't let me sleep for 4 nights, and froze everything inside which ruined my 5 days/4 nights' worth of food and fruits. 3- Internet wasn't working. 4- Insects and gnats in the room.

Hard place to find on main street! Their signage is sort of buried visually. Check in was fast and friendly. My room looked like it had recently been redone: clean, functional and a little small. The bed, pillows and linen were good. WiFi was excellent. A suggestion would be in a room on the top floors. I was on the first and there were kid noises outside until 9 or so. One issue: no safety bars for the shower.

Would stay here again for the good deal. I usually stay here with my partner before we head up to Mammoth for the weekend. There is breakfast, so it was nice to get some waffles and coffee in the morning. I would say that the rooms are quite dim, wish there was better lighting. Overall a decent stay for the price.

The room was small but adequate, in decent shape. Breakfast was very good. Noisy window A/C unit in room next to ours. We wore ear plugs. No functioning ice machine. Internet worked ok. Parking not good - too many vehicles in small space. For price paid, this was not one of our favorite Best Westerns.

This room was clean, mostly, and comfortable. (There was a dead cricket on bathroom floor and long hairs in the tub.) There was Only one working ice machine, in the far building. Adequate fitness room and a better-than-average hot breakfast.

Don't stay here. We couldn't even get the office staff to say hello or good morning, ignoring any semblance of politeness. terrible room surrounded by loud obnoxious guests, partying all night. They refused to change our room even though the motel was half empty. (they said it was sold out. BS. Reserved a dog friendly room and was told on arrival that there were no DF rooms available and they were sold out. I had the paper reservation so they gave is a tiny dark room in a corner next to an ice machine that didn't work, surrounded by a motorcycle gang. What a Wonderful stay!!!!!

Selected this hotel between Yosemite and Death Valley. Positives: Easy to find, plenty of parking as well as a good sized room. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly. Not so great: the pool area stank of cannabis so was unusable, the floor of the room was so dirty that we had to wear shoes and breakfast was extremely basic with no refills for any item and positively hostile staff. Much as I want to be open minded, I can't recommend this hotel.

A little expensive for what you get but clean, professional and nice staff, spacious rooms. So not too bad. Typical, unhealthy American breakfast, very slow WiFi, but at least it works. Free parking on the property.

The outside looks a little dated but the lobby is beautiful and the rooms are updated. There are a lot of trees/bushes which actually hide the hotel from the main street which could use some cutting back so you don't miss it. Staff are very friendly. The room was spacious, breakfast the next morning was average. There is a large outdoor pool which was very clean. The jacuzzi looked like it could use a good cleaning. There is also an outside building adjacent to the pool for fishing cleaning which is pretty cool although on a hot day the fish smell permeates the pool area. Very quite and comfortable bedding.

Although our check-in experience was great, and our first impression of the room was a good one, we were very unhappy with the air conditioning.  The unit itself worked great, but it's location against the back wall in the vanity area was horrible.  The cool air just doesn't make it over the 3/4 wall dividing the vanity area from the rest of the room (see picture).  We were unable to sleep comfortably because the air was just too warm in the front part of the room.  We weren't able to confirm that all rooms have the air conditioning unit in the back by the vanity area, however, walking down the exterior corridors to the rooms, none of the rooms had an air conditioning unit beneath the window, so we can only guess that the other rooms have a similar setup. It is unfortunate, overall, because the room was nice and the beds were comfortable, but it was just too warm to have a good night's sleep. Maybe during the autumn or winter months, it would be more pleasant, but during the heat of summer, just not an ideal situation. There are plenty of other hotels/motels in Bishop, so if we have an opportunity to return, we will make reservations at a different property.

Stayed here with my 88 year old dad. Ben at the front desk was very helpful, he directed us to a great local restaurant for dinner too. We rented an accessible room which was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast wasn't just a bare minimum effort - the hostess was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

The stay at the Bishop Best Western is always nice and quiet. The staff is always friendly and professional and the hotel always has a awesome breakfast. The hotel is walking distance to restaurants and stores.

This hotel was average and the rooms were not worth $140.00 plus taxes. Noisy heating system that was impossible to control. Either too hot or too cold. Would not recommend to my friends. Breakfast was ok and front desk staff were excellent.

We got stranded in Bishop due to car issues where are car was with the mechanic for 2 days and the fantastic Manager Leslie and the staff worked with us and accommodated us to extend our stay and make it as comfortable as possible. They recommended great restaurants and activities for us to kill time.

Quick overnight stay on our way up to Mammoth. Motel-style so the rooms open to the outside which can be loud depending on the other guests. It was very clean and the staff were very nice. We had to return to our room (child forgot tablet) after checkout and the housekeeper was very nice and let us in to search. Breakfast was good just not a lot of spaces to sit.

My wife and I were passing through Bishop in September of 2022 and decided to stay at the Best western because they advertise a military discount (I am a retired U.S. Marine). When we attempted to rent a room, we were advised by the employees that the motel did not offer a military discount. If one goes to the Best Western website, one will will see a very big advertisement stating that Best Western motels offer a military discount, however, as I have stated, Best Western in Bishop will not honor this advertisement. We went elsewhere and had a better experience. I would not recommend Best Western to military personnel/families.

My stay at Best Western Bishop was awesome. Staff is courteous and helpful especially with the handicapped amenities. Check in was fast and simple. Breakfast options were perfect. The staff were courteous and professional . This is the best value for winter trips to Mammoth!!

while I didn't get the chance to sightsee on this stay, I know Bishop to be a great little town to visit. The BW hotel was nice and the staff was very accommodating. The rooms are very well appointed. The breakfast room was spotless and the food was good.

Great location on Main Street, walking distance from some of the best restaurants and shops in town. The room was very clean and modern, with nice amenities. Bed was very comfortable, and the shampoo/conditioner/lotions had a very pleasant scent. The staff was very friendly, especially Maria, who was attending at the breakfast buffet. The breakfast was excellent as well, and included!

Clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and great breakfast options. Will definitely be returning! I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Bishop or Mammoth. It's a short drive from the ski slopes and all the best hikes in the area.

We have stayed at several Best Western properties over the years, and they have consistently been a good value. The staff here was helpful, the room and beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was on par with what one would expect. The problem? I got up in the middle of the night to find a cockroach in the bathroom. It crawled into a hole between tiles in the corner of the bathroom before I could kill it. I stuffed the hold with a piece of paper so it wouldn't re-emerge, but I really didn't sleep very well after that. Our first encounter with vermin at a Best Western. We won't be returning.

This is the third Best Western in a row that I've stayed at that has had a sagging mattress (and I only weigh 159 pounds). Wish they would replace the mattresses when they are worn out. Also, to me, the breakfast quality (eggs, back and waffle mix) has been so poor that I can't eat it.

Very quiet and nice place to relax. My room was cool even without air conditioner on, outside temperature was around 88 degrees. Did not hear any noise from outside. Breakfast was great. It had just about everything anyone wants for breakfast.

This BW in a great town on the back side of Yosemite. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The breakfast is always a great value and the menu does change daily. We use BW frequently while traveling and always have a pleasant experience. The room is quiet and I always feel safe. This property could do with a refresher but still a good experience.

Poor front desk service and put us in a single queen room with the whole hotel open and wanted to charge us $75 for a king instead. The booking price online is a $10 difference. Would not issue a refund or help with an upgrade. Booked on 8/18 at 6:30pm. Young male worker was not the embodiment of a service industry professional. Many other hotels in the area with better/same rates and better staff.

Four of us arrived after a long day of driving cranky and tired and hungry. Our rooms were to be upstairs and no elevator. First pissed off moment. Then the receptionist found a downstairs room for my handicapped friend and we schlepped our too much luggage upstairs. Rooms were nice. Our friends closet door broken. Fixed the next morning. We had bought a bunch of groceries and refrigerator broken. In my mood just great!!! I went to the lobby and complained. Maintenance guy came minutes later and brought a brand new refrigerator. OK, what else can tired me complain about. Nothing. No maid service unless requested but we had clean towels on request for the 5 days we were there and got more soap/shampoos from the front desk. Breakfast excellent. Good coffee. The ladies that work there are wonderful. Clearing tables and checking if you have everything. Nice hot breakfast every morning. Please get a different brand of yogurt. Not many TV channels but after a full day in Mammoth tired anyway. Major stations and then you can always find Two and a Half men or friends marathons. Air conditioning ice cold. Showers safe and easy to use. Great water pressure. We had a suite. Very spacious and not that much more. Internet was great and we had to work every morning. Oh, beds comfortable and enough bedding. Pillows a little weird so bring your own.

The rooms are small, but clean. TV channel selection is bare bones at best. Breakfast is average. In my opinion the price is too high, but in Bishop you are almost a captive audience with little choice for a higher quality experience.

Decided to split trip from Lake Tahoe to LA with a stop in bishop. Didn't have too much expectations as I am a diamond Hilton member with many hotel stays every year. Checkin fast with two receptionists, ample parking. Requested quiet room which was provided with an upstairs room in the back building far from the street. It was over 100 degrees outside but room cool when we arrived and stayed cool the entire stay. Room was remodeled recently and clean. Had a table and two chairs to eat our take out dinner. Good night sleep with only noise an occasional slammed door. Ac ran most of the night so the continuous drone blocked out any other noise. Breakfast was a surprise with scrambled eggs,sausage, waffle mix for fresh waffles, yogurt, good muffins, fresh fruit, cereal, etc. Better than many hiltons including breakfasts. Even parking good with wider than average spaces. Thanks for a good stay and then easy trip in the morning back home in LA

Room was clean, bed was comfortable, a/c worked well but was loud, service was good, breakfast okay. Buildings were old (although interiors were remodeled in the not-too-distant past. Layout of complex was a bit claustrophobic and institutional. Fairly quiet, which surprised me, I was expecting a lot of noise based on the configuration.

We (a group of 5 friends) had an enjoyable stay at this property during a hiking trip to the area. The rooms were clean & comfortable. There was a good variety of both hot & "cold" breakfast choices. An attendant was present to promptly replace items that had run out & to clean tables to ensure rapid turnaround. The hotel has a secure & high-speed wireless network. Did not use the pool or exercise room, so cannot comment.

Room Surfaces and bathroom appeared to be clean. Towels clean, bedding clean. Floor filthy and turned our feet black. Beds way too soft and very small. Staff was excellent. Good choices for breakfast.

While the Best Western's unusual exterior of two walls separated by a walkway blocked any sunlight from entering the room, it was comfortable, nicely furnished and clean. The highlight of our overnight stay was the breakfast which had more variety of offerings than most and was cared for by Maria, a lovely woman with a big smile who tended to her guests as though we were guests in her own home.

Front desk staff are extremely courteous and professional. Room was clean and nice, although I would prefer a door separating the room and the sink area. Nothing fancy and the towels are average, but about as expected. Breakfast was OK, with helpful staff. Premises could use a little sprucing up. I would recommend this place.

Hotels had to be suddenly changed, the Best Western website was not properly working. Angie (?) at the front desk was very helpful. She fixed me up with a clean and quiet room. She also got the online Best Western Member guest discount. The parking availability was excellent. The breakfast was a full and tasty hot one; the only issue encountered was the pool being ice cold and thus not able to use when the outside temperature was in the mid 80's.

This hotel, although the outside architecture is strange, was very clean inside as well as outside. The room was large and very clean. Right away we were provided with chocolate squares and a bottle of water as a welcoming. Bathroom was fantastic! Soft clean linens. Breakfast had it all!

First time guest at this property. Friendly check in. Nice room and GREAT Breakfast. Good location with food in easy walking distance. Good, off-the-street parking. Next time through I will definetely stay here again

This is definitely a smaller, older BW. Breakfast was average. Room and bathroom are very small ,but clean. Pretty quiet for being close to the road. Front desk staff were very nice and professional. For the money, may consider a chain that has bigger rooms and a little more newer.

While traveling to Washington from calif.and back I always looked for a Best Western, because they welcome your pets,not all do.The price is good the rooms are spacious and comfortable,clean and the staff members are very friendly

This place is on the north end of town along 395. The rooms are a bit back from the street and I found it quiet. Breakfast was typical of Best Western breakfast and good. Many of the restaurants in Bishop are within an easy walk too. I accidentally left an important item in the room. A fact which I discovered the evening after I checked out. Contacted the and they already had it in their lost and found. Was able to return and pick it up. Very good service.

Great place to stay on Main Street. Close to Von's Supermarket, Visitor's Center Chamber of Commerce and Starbucks. 30 - 45 minutes each way to spectacular alpine hiking. I hiked about 40 miles total in 7 days. Can't wait to return to this gorgeous area of canyons and lakes. Amazing area! :)

The room was small and maneuvering even a small mobility scooter required 5-7 point turns to get around. The bathtub was adequate even though I didn't use it as this was a quick overnight stay. The toilet however was an epic fail. There were NO grab bars at the toilet. The only bar came out of the floor and curved into the wall beside the toilet. A challenge to transfer from and to the toilet. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was average, but had to be put in containers and eaten in the room where there was no room. The bed served as the table. For what it costs us, the value was far below what I come to expect from Best Western hotels which is my 'go to' hotel because of the very good ADA rooms in most of their hotels.

In all fairness the room was clean, nicely appointed but so very small! It was just two of us but bathroom counter was almost nonexistent. Heater was very loud so difficult to sleep soundly. We have stayed at several best westerns on our travels but this was the tiniest and most expensive. The gentleman at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful.

We stayed here for one night on our way through town. It is obviously an older hotel but has been nicely renovated. The rooms were very contemporary with updated furniture, hard surfaced floors, and linens on the beds. The staff at the front desk was very friendly at check in, even though interrupted with multiple phone calls having to explain that they were full for the night. It is located close to the middle of town, so is an easy walk to many restaurants, and of course the great bakery almost next door. Their breakfast is still a "grab and go" style because of Covid, but that is pretty common right now in many hotels we have stayed in.

It's a great hotel if you like stuffy rooms with no fan, intermittent a/c and paper thin walls to enjoy everything your neighbors say and do. I canceled early and found a different property so I could get a little sleep.………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Check in went smoothly. Room was very clean. Reasonably quiet guests around us. My only complaint is that the beds are noisy. Notnsure if it's the foam pad but everytime someone moves or turns in their sleep you can hear it. Bed was comfortable. Staff was pleasant.

Bishop is a very nice city and I love the view when here, this trip was a little less than perfect sue to fires creating smoke and making the panorama a hazy grey mist. The hotel was a bit expensive, but the rooms were clean and for the most part very quiet. I will stay here again when in the area.

I love Best Westerns, they always deliver, a clean room, clean bathroom and shower, comfy bed and clean sheets. In Bishop the motel is on the main drag, 395, and it is walking distance to places to eat or shop.

I had reservations for a return trip at another brand of hotel that was unacceptable from a prior stay so I checked with Bishop and was treated great, staff excellent and room perfect. I would stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone.

The rooms at this hotel have the home away from home feeling, at least in the inside, the outside is not as appealing otherwise as far as the room, the important factor of this hotel I give it ot a 10

Enjoyed our brief stay in Bishop. BW was accommodating as my children (teenagers!) decided to come along last minute! BBQ dinner was awesome-Smokey Something? Hiked in Mammoth. Too bad air quality shortened our trip.

I stayed here with family after climbing White Mountain Peak. It was an excellent choice. It is across the street from a 24 Denny's. Bishop is the biggest city we could find on this part of 395 and it was worth it. The doors do not face out, which is important to me and the parking spot was in front of the room. It is all I can ask for.

Our first choice place, Creekside, was full for some of the days we wanted to stay in Bishop so we tried here. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised overall: room was quite large, bed was comfortable. AM breakfast, although "grab and go", was actually superior to what we got at Creekside: lots of things available: Sausage biscuits, yogurt, apple sauce, apples for example. Also very welcome was bottle of water in this summer hot location! For me, however, natural light is a big thing. The window we had was very small and overlooked common corridor, which overlooked courtyard parking lot. There was a Spanish style iron grate also obstructing the view. Perhaps other rooms have better views; as my first stay, can't really say.

Room was clean but the staff was not really great. Bed was uncomfortable room was super loud and hot in the winter. Had to turn on the loud ac to sleep. Room was very small also. I would pass on this location I normally love best western but not this one.

This place is perfect to spend a night in this very unique town. The staff was very friendly and allowed us to check in early after a long day on the road. Very clean rooms with the perfect air conditioning. I would definitely come here again. Highly recommended.

I had a very unpleasant experience. I was the only customer checking in, but I had to wait approx. 20 minutes for the attendant to get off the phone to acknowledge me. He was definitely not customer friendly. He asked me to walk back out to my car to get my license plate number. This was not easy for me, since I have a bad knee and have difficulty walking. After I checked in, I saw several other people with irritated looks on their faces as they had to walk back to their car to get their license plate numbers. This is a poor procedure. Why not just issue a parking pass to put on your dashboard? Later that evening, I came in to the office and asked if he had any plastic knives and forks. He simply stated "No" without any other comment. I know there are plastic knives and forks on the premises since they were included with my morning breakfast. I then asked if they had vending machines to buy snacks. He said "No, they are shut down do to Covid." He didn't offer any suggestions as to where I could obtain what I wanted. Because of this overall poor customer service, I cancelled my reservation at this motel which I had reserved for my return trip home. I booked, instead, with the Motel 6 next door, where I experienced much better customer service, a room that was at least as nice, and about half the price. This experience may have ended my relationship with Best Western. I will certainly, in the future, check alternatives. I didn't bring a breakfast ticket when I went to pick up my breakfast. I was told to go to the office to obtain one. I went to the office and the attendant immediately said " I gave you one, you should have one." He made a big issue out of it before giving me another ticket. This was very poor customer service, in my opinion.

Stayed two nights with Family, visiting the numerous sites in the Eastern Sierras. Hotel was clean, beds comfortable and good bedding and towels. Hotel rooms and common areas could use some updating, paint and maintenance. Breakfast was a "grab and go" due to Covid-19 restrictions. Choices limited and if you are concerned about calories, there is an apple, orange and some yogurt, and the non-sweetened Greek yogurt may be limited or not available. Staff very helpful in directions, updates on weather and recommending restaurants. Some charges on my bill that, in retrospect, I did not understand when I made the reservation. I did not see a pool.

The location at this hotel is in the middle of Bishop and lot of the stores can be a walking distance. The billing was not accurate for the online booking was different from the actual bill. The breakfast they serve is small and when they ask for some more, they are hesitant to give it.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We liked the layout of our room. The to go cold breakfast option was what you would expect for a to go option these days but wouldn't recommend the orange juice. The breakfast staff were very friendly and efficient.

We are on our forth and final night where we have stayed at BW Hotels all four nights. The previous three nights where we stayed, the BW hotels (NV & ID) were good for the price of the room. The Bishop BW needs some serious updates and maintenance. Because we brought our K9 with us, we were given a pet friendly room which means no carpeting. While we can live with that, housekeeping should have been a little more thorough in cleaning the floor of crumbs and kibble. The shower fixture leaked where the head attaches to the pipe and the soap holder is about ready to fall off. There is about an 1" clearance between the door and toilet. Towels are sized for children or small adults. Only one office chair and one table chair. The room door is out of plumb. One of the twin beds is about 8" from the A/C unit which makes it difficult to get in and out of bed. Because of COVID19 and California, everything except the ice machine (which you need your key card to operate) is closed. Lastly, if you happen to be towing a trailer longer than 18', look somewhere else as they can only accommodate one vehicle/trailer in their one way in and out parking lot. This will be the one and only time we will stay at the Bishop Best Western.

The hotel is clean, things are neat and orderly, wifi can be spotty if you are working, the windows all face out into the hallway, not like they can fix this but having the curtains closed all the time is depressing

The rooms were clean and the staff was great except for the check-out clerk. Let us just say "her attitude has room for improvement" Out side of that situation the stay was pleasant. All of our other stays at Best Westerns have been great.

Staying here for one night. Room is stark and dark, heater sounds like a semi is coming into the room, and no place to sit and eat your take out Covid dinner. The two chairs look like they came from a rather sad conference room. Not enough room for two queen beds so there is about 1 foot clearance into the bathroom. On the bright side, the room is quite clean and the bathroom is fine. But honestly, for as much as we paid and being a Best Western, we are sorely disappointed. We stay in Bishop regularly and this is our first time to stay here. Sadly and certainly, our last....

Been a while since last there and its much nicer now, it was old looking. Although we had a slight issue with the blackout curtains, our sleep was good. Breakfast bag was better than other Best Westerns and having fresh brewed coffee makes a world of difference in the morning for me. Receptionist was kind and thorough, and the breakfast room lady was great. I would definitely go back. Oh and upstairs is way better than the lower floor

The most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. Nice updated rooms. And very nice toiletries. I visit this area often and really wanted to live this place but I just can't with beds like they have. Please get new beds

Decided to splurge and took a suite with microwave, so could cook ourselves. No dishes extra small microwave. Toilet small not comfort size, tile floor cold. BW says they wipe down all surfaces, water spots on counter by sink. Desk clerk friendly on check in, but with a mask that was vented, that does little to inhibit spread of COVID. Question this BW commitment to being safe. We use BW a lot when traveling, but not this one again.

Thought the hotel did a really good job, with very clean rooms and all safety protocols in place. Room was very clean and stocked well with amenities. Within walking distance of eateries. Breakfast in a bag was certainly adequate and a very good way to provide that service. The hotel was very full which was good to see. Fellow guests a bit noisy in the morning. Nice experience.

We arrived into Bishop late at night. We had stayed at a few other hotels in town on a previous stay but I was never happy with them. This time we decided to stay somewhere new. After calling a few other hotels, we had no luck as nothing was open. When we arrived into town we tried the hotel across the street but the room was disgusting and way over priced! In my opinion, Best Western isn't always my 1st pick in general, but I'm glad we decided to stay here. It was clean, the front desk staff was friendly, the beds were comfortable. What more could you ask for?

My family and I travel a lot. This location here was very upsetting. I chose to stay here because of these good reviews but was I wrong. Beware!!! 7am as my family including my kids were asleep the maids next to us in that utility room were yelling so loud and across the hallway to each other. They were blasting music and making so much noise. We had no choice but to be wide awake very upset. My husband had to get up in Pjs to tell the workers to keep it down. Overall it was a terrible experience and if I could I'd definitely let whoever I can know in advanced that this location was somewhere to stay clear of. I wish I can get some or at least all of my money back. It was definitely not worth it in this town.

Everything was satisfactory except you'd expect a modern AC system for this modern price. The AC system was the really old type that makes a huge racket and ran most of the night because it's very hot here in the summer. During the pandemic you're getting a brown bag breakfast that should have been better for this price.

The most foundational value a hotel can provide is some privacy and a sound night's sleep, and on that account this hotel fails. We spent three nights here in a first floor room, and all three nights involved significant noise issues from the floor above. Any activity above causes creaking and pounding from the ceiling. The first night we heard noise from 4AM through 6AM, cutting short our sleep (even through ear plugs!) and causing knock-on issues for the rest of our day. The second and third nights were not too bad, but overall pretty unacceptable. Noise bleed from the stairs was also notable, as well as various outside noises. The interior of the hotel is newly remodeled, and *looks* nice (hence the photos you'll see on here), but it's obvious this is an old and dilapidated building with noise transmission characteristics that make it *totally unsuitable to be used as a hotel*. The take-away breakfast (per COVID19 changes) was fine, and wifi was somewhat weak from our room, but mostly acceptable for a hotel in this class. The best thing I can say about this hotel was the large and easy parking spots. There's absolutely nothing the hotel staff can do about the noise issue (besides demolishing the building and starting over), so it's a risk you resign to accept if you decide to stay here. Unfortunately the competition in Bishop may not be much better, but I ultimately have to write this review based on our actual experience, which was not good. I would not risk sleep interruption here again amidst a weekend packed with high-elevation activity.

The staff was very courteous and friendly. The rooms have been newly remodeled but this is an old motor inn structure and it smelled a bit musty. The bed was comfortable and the A/C was loud but worked well. Summer rates were set too high for this hotel.

Not worth the price, put in a back room with two beds because I was traveling with my dogs, and charged $30 for each dog. Over $240 for less than 12 hours in Bishop when my reservation stated $168. Front desk stated because they are so "isolated" Never again

Stayed with boys basketball team for two nights - the hotel staff were all very friendly ,the rooms were very clean, and Chris at the front desk always has a smile on his face and made sure we all were taken care of and had everything we needed!

The room was well furnished, clean and the bed comfortable. The internet and TV worked with no issues. The breakfast was very good with a lot of hot and cold options, with the exception of greasy sausage patties, instead of bacon. The coffee was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check in and out were very fast and accurate. The only negative is the price. We stayed at three BWs on this three day trip and this was the most expensive by far for the same kind of room as the other two locations.

We were not planning on staying in Bishop, but ended up having to due to weather. We booked this hotel last minute, we are typically Hilton people and being there are no Hilton branded hotels anywhere near, we opted for the Best Western. We were so pleasantly surprised! Clean, comfortable, modern room decor! Hardwood floors in our room- not sure if this is how all the rooms are. But that was a huge plus for us- no question of unclean carpets. They had free breakfast which we were unable to take advantage of, but the small menu posted in the Lobby made it look more appealing than your typical motel continental breakfast.

We stayed here in that we usually like Best Western Plus, but were indeed disappointed. The reviews were good, but for the price we paid which was a lot, we will most likely not stay again. First of all, it is not a lodge - just a 2 story motel type with outside doors. The room, although trying to be updated was small and dark. The hallways are outside and due to walls that are in front of the door we walked into the room and had to feel for a light switch - it was pitch dark inside during the day. The heater was so noisy I had to wear earplugs at night. One toilet paper roll was empty and not replenished by housekeeping. No elevator to second story, but that is not a problem for us. The breakfast room was good and the breakfast was nice too. Had hot and cold items. Overall due to the darkness and the noise, we will stay elsewhere next time. Not worth the extra money over other hotels that are probably equal in star value but as good as this location for the price. We just did not get a good vibe from this place.

Our room was clean but very small. It had everything one would need, but not any counter room in the "powder room". Getting out of bed you bump right into the table. Breakfast was average. Friendly staff.

Good value (for Bishop in October) at $109. Centrally located with plenty of dining options across the road (US 395), during our week-long US 395 road trip. The check-in process was prompt and friendly. Christian's recommendation for our dining requests was spot on. He seemed pleased to fulfill our requests for extra pillows, even when housekeeping had left for the evening. The room was clean and updated with a beautiful modern touch we experienced in more expensive hotels, like Marriott. The room was quiet all night even though located near the entrance. Amenities include a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker. The TV has 5 HBO channels and very few other channels.

My wife, teenage daughters and I stayed at the BW Bishop Lodge for one night on the way from Death Valley to Yosemite. The hotel is on the northern edge of Bishop, right on Main St. Main St. gets very busy, but the hotel's lot is very wide going east to west (perpendicular to Main St.). As a result, most of the rooms are a good distance from Main St. and not as exposed to the traffic and noise. The staff welcomed me as a loyalty program member, even though it was my first stay. They gave me two complimentary bottles of water and some chocolates. There are a few eating establishments within walking distance, but we chose to drive to the southern end of town, maybe 2-3 minutes away. The rooms are functional, comfortable and clean. Our bathroom was separated by a wall from the sleeping area, which provided a bit of breathing room for the four of us. We were all happy with the accommodations and would stay there again if we happen to be in Bishop.

A nice clean place to stay in Bishop. Good location near food and supplies. I used this as a base for some day hikes. I booked through a third party to get a deal... but that means I got the least desirable room, next to the ice machine. I would still absolutely stay again and probably book through Best Western to get a superior room. Front desk staff were fine and breakfast staff were excellent. I loved the included breakfast! Waffles, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, bagels and cream cheese, fruit, salsa...

The hotel is very nicely maintained. The staff from check-in, breakfast, and check-out were very friendly and helpful. All were very much geared to making the guests have a good experience. At check-in, the desk clerk, Ben, was very helpful in recommending a restaurant we could easily walk to. The room was very quiet and nicely decorated. We would definitely stay here if we are back in the area.

This is a well run, well maintained facility. It would be best used as a one-night, check in late afternoon and check out early the next morning motel. The rooms, while well kept, reflect nothing of the fabulous geography surrounding Bishop and are dark without the slightest view. While fine for a quick overnighter, I'd look elsewhere if I were seeking a 2 or 3 day base for recreation.

I"ve booked my room using Hotels.com because it shows that this hotel is "pet friendly", however, there is no option is Hotels.com to show me the rate with pet included. When I checked-in, the rate provided by this hotel is significantly higher than what I agreed in Hotels.com. The pet deposit is reasonable.

We spent two nights here in October. Our room on the second floor was quite small but adequate. It was clean and quiet. We walked to the nearby VONS supermarket for groceries and used the microwave for dinner. We had been hiking all day and didn't feel like searching for a restaurant (although there seem to be plenty in the town). The best part about this Best Western is the breakfast and the lovely lady who supervises it. She keeps everything well stocked (and she showed me how to use the toaster!). I hope that BW realizes what a gem she is.

Convenient location. Adequate room with great bed. Room was clean but spartan. Air conditioning/ heater was so noisy it was difficult to sleep. Passage way to room was littered with trash. Did have a wonderful dinner across the street at the Pizza Factory.

A great place to come to after spending the day hiking and off-roading. The room was clean and modern and I loved that it had laminate flooring and not carpeting. The bed and pillows were perfect and my husband and I had the best sleep! Great location and several restaurants within walking distance and a Starbucks a few steps away. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Overall a great place to stay.

The staff are very helpful and pleasant. We wished to change rooms at check in and they went out of their way to show us several options. Very helpful. OUr room was clean, quiet and roomy. The whole property was nice. Breakfast was great. Highly recommended

Front desk gentleman was very friendly, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable even though the pillows were small and uncomfortable. Decorated nicely and great TV. Walking distance from a nice park and restaurants. The negatives were the noisy air conditioners actually kept us awake cycling on and off all night and the walkways outside the room super dirty which tracked into the room. Towels were super thin. Breakfast was good. I think I will try the Creekside Inn next time.

It has decor, and rooms are not cookie cutter motel chains. When we were there we saw the fire crews in full force. Breakfast was ready and so where they. Our room was a Huge King Suite. We almost need our GPS to find our way around in it. Not your blah, same old, same old Right in Town, dont think down town here.

Bishop is a typical American strip town alongside the 395. Unremarkable but it benefits from the backdrop of the High Sierras. The hotel is well sited with easy access to bars, restaurants and a supermarket. Our stay was uneventful our room was clean, well appointed with a large comfortable bed. The air conditioning worked well and the bathroom was clean. There is a small pool and hot tub but surprisingly with a temperature in the high 80's the pool was a little cold. The hot breakfast was perfectly acceptable, the staff throughout were professional and friendly. Can I recommend Schats Roadhouse for an excellent inexpensive evening meal within easy walking distance.

My wife & I stayed one night at this motel enroute to Mammoth Lakes. This motel appears to have been extensively renovated within the past few years. The room was well-furnished, comfortable, had strong wifi, and even had a small refrigerator. Although our room was very close to the street, it was well soundproofed and we didn't hear any traffic. The complimentary buffet breakfast was good and the attendant who was replenishing the food was very courteous and helpful. Our only gripe was the breakfast room was too small to accommodate all the guests. We were advised that we could take the food from the breakfast room to our guest room but no trays were provided so we waited a short time for a table to become vacant. Check in and check out was easy and the front desk staff were courteous. They also offer access to hot water, coffee, & tea in their breakfast room in the evening.

Room was cleaned daily and room was very comfortable and plenty of space, had plenty of amenities such a breakfast and pool with hot tub. Front desk was always available. they also have room for cleaning fish if you like fishing.

I always stay at this location when I travel to Bishop. The staff are polite and friendly. The location is right in the middle of the town. The rooms are clean and renovated. Only downfall is there is no elevator if we end up on the second floor.

The beds, pillows and newly installed beautiful sink were great...a couple things, not so great. We were given a second floor room, and I asked the desk clerk if there was an elevator to help with getting our luggage upstairs, she said, "Yes." Well, there was not an elevator, but we had been driving all day and were just to tired to go try and get another room so we managed to get everything upstairs. The other, rather odd thing was the arrangement of the toilet, tub and shower, and the door that opened inward, rather than out. Inconvenient and poor design.

We had a great nights stay here. From the exterior it looked ok but the inside was superb, huge bed , super modern shower and wash basin area , all spotlessly clean. Breakfast was better than the normal during our road trip and staff were nice. Very good value and great place to stay so no hesitation in recommending 10/10

Very disappointed with exterior uncleanliness. Every hall way had dead roaches and trash. Every staircase had Cobb webs showing that area was neglected for a long period of time.Room itself was clean and comfortable, but had to move rooms when TV failed. Roach on back at entrance to breakfast area, did not eat food.

Hotel looks old from the outside but the rooms are very modern. Hotel staff made check in and check out very easy. Staff was really helpful. Hotel is located in a good area near bowling alley and restaurants (coffe shops, bakery, Dennys).

After a delayed check-in (I've never heard that check-in times are “goals” as opposed to guarantees, my room wasn't ready until 4:10), everything was perfect. I was in a suite, which is about a double size room, nice to be able to stretch out a bit since I was here for a few days. I think it was $35 more than a regular room per night. The room was utterly spotless, which is ultimately the most important attribute for me in a hotel room. The towels also looked new and fresh. Nothing icky on the sofa fabric, the tiny kitchen area was clean, all good. Full breakfast run by a very friendly woman, front desk staff also friendly.

I booked a King bed room. We arrived around 4:30, were given a king bed room right next to the highway. When we got up to the room the door to the room was open. We went in, checked out the room, everything appeared to be ok. When we left the room (less than 5 minutes later) the door would not latch. If you pushed on the door it would open. It was not secure. We went back down to the front desk and were told that since all of the king bed rooms were booked that night (but not checked in yet) we would need to “upgrade free or charge” to a double queen room because if they gave us a different king bed room that would leave someone else without a king bed room. I didn't want the double queen room. I booked a king bed room. It's not my fault that this hotel hasn't poor maintenance so why am I being forced to change room types when I checked in at a reasonable time. So if I had come later and someone else had been assigned this broken king bed room before me I would've been given a king bed

At check-in we got some very useful information on local points of interest. The room was large, clean, and well-designed. The sink area was updated. We had a table and two chairs to sit at and study our maps. The AC worked well and wasn't overly noisy or disruptive. (High temp outside was around 100). It has the features I expect in a Best Western and this is one of the better ones. Our room was quiet. Breakfast was good and a bit better than standard. Friendly staff.

The check in was pleasant and quick. The rooms at this property have been upgraded and are very nice. Has crown molding, wood floors most likely (vinyl planking), comfortable bed. In close proximity to the whole town.

Very nice place to stay at - we enjoyed the Spanish style building keeping the direct sun out of the windows. Large room with everything we needed. Great staff at Check in and out. Very Helpful pointing out places to go and see locally. Parking can get 'tight' if you get in late - and you have to walk a ways to your room-but well lighted! Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Gas stations nearby also. Will stay again someday! Fellow Seniors- our opinion it is a good money value place:)

Room recently renovated, but still pretty basic. Outside of unit off the street looks old and worn. Outside stairwells and corridors very dirty and neglected. There are better places to stay in Bishop. Not good value for the money.

Very clean hotel. Guest services was extremely helpful. We arrived very late at night and there wawas not any parking. We were told we could park in the unmark area becuase everything was full. The breakfast was tasty and fresh.

$200/night got us this giant flying insect in our tiny bathroom. Reported it to front desk, who told us the town was recently infested by a swarm of them, woman at desk said she had two in her own bathroom. That's her problem BUT i'm a PAYING guest...where did it come from? Bathroom is furthest from the front door! Surely hotel can guard against them better? Insect approx 1” long!!!

Love this place. Christian was awesome, gave us great reccomendation for dinner. Always smiling and geniune. Seemed happy to be there! Nice to see someone of his generation with great work ethic! The pet friendly rooms are actually in a seperate building form the others. The rooms have wood laminate and tile floors with an area rug between the 2 beds. The pet relief area has both grass and gravel with bags and a trash can for cleaning up after your pet. The staff that we interacted with (particularly Ben at reception) were all very friendly and helpful. Even the buildings thenslelves were nice looking. Definitely one of the best Best Western Hotels and experiences we have had! I would definitely stay here again even though I thought it was a little pricey.

Beware this motel assesses a $100 fee to the room rent. One day after checking out the charge still shows on my credit card. This charge also came as a suprise to anoter person who checked in when I did. The fee should be made known in advance. Otherwise, room was adequate.

Rooms were very nice and spacious. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Great location with snow caped mountains in the background. An Ideal place if need a less expensive option then the prices you would pay in Mammoth. Only a 40 minute drive from Mammoth Ski Resort which we've multiple times when visit mammoth. Bishops charm is also hard to beat from the locals to entertainment.

I've been working in Bishop for a month now and I appreciate the friendliness of staff and the clean rooms. Not to fond of the health and beauty supplies but I bring my own. Half way through the stay I noticed they changed the type of breakfast sausage they used. They changed from delicious juice pork to dry turkey. Wasn't too pleased with that. Breakfast is the same everyday. Good thing I'm a creature of habit. I appreciate that staff know my name. . . at least I think they do. Lol.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Bishop Best Western. The staff were professional and helpful throughout my stay. Clean and well maintained property and room. Good breakfast. Plenty of parking next to my room.

Rooms were very clean and modern. Staff was very helpful, checkin process was quick and simple. Breakfast area was the best we have stayed at with plenty of selections. Parking available throughout the hotel made it easy to unload and load the car. This is our new place to stay when in Bishop.

All staff, from reservations to check-in and check-out, were professional, personable and pleasant and represent the brand as the 1st choice in lodging. The room was so beautiful with impressive furnishings, linens, bathroom and wall art it appeared to have been decorated by a master interior designer. The breakfast was impressive beginning with a very clean serving area and included cooked and ready to eat choices. We had coffee, waffles, eggs, sausage, and fresh & tasty muffins. The hotel is centrally located in this major resort town and close to attractions such as many favorite fishing locations as well as a short drive to major ski resorts. There is also a casino 3-5 minutes from the hotel!

My husband and I did a spur of the moment trip to Bishop Ca. The room was more than we expected, it was spacious and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful We'll definitely be back soon.

I love best western, but unfortunately this stay was awful. After a long day of traveling, I couldn't sleep from the discomfort of the bed, and I spent many years in the navy sleeping in bunk beds on a ship... and this was the worst bedd I've ever tried to sleep on. :(

Good place to stop on route 395 whether driving north or south. You get Best Western hospitality, clean rooms, half upgraded (most except bathroom was upgraded). Comfortable beds, smallish bathroom, but certainly not bad, good shower (but limited pressure), old fashioned heating system (noisy), mostly quite. Breakfast was remarkable and included in price. Service was great. Overall, certainly given affordable price, a good choice if you stay in beautiful Bishop.

it was to go see the snow in mammoth, had a good stay. Staff was great, friendly. Room was clean and well stocked with towels and coffee fixings. Hot water in shower was plentiful. Breakfast was good and had lots of choices.

I'm so happy we stayed at this pet friendly hotel. The pet room is updated and so nice. Usually, pet rooms are old, outdated and smelly but not here. There's new flooring, furniture and fixtures. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. We had a great nights sleep. The room we stayed in is really quiet. We'll definitely stay here again.

On our way back from a 2018 vacation in Utah and New Mexico, we stayed a night at the Best Western Bishop Lodge. We often stay at Best Westerns and this was a typical hotel in this chain. Comfortable accommodations with a good breakfast.

Stayed for 2 night during my ski trip at Mammoth Mountain. The room feels spacious for 3 people, and is newly renovated, good internet speed, too. If you are driving electric car, there is one 120V outlet for you to charge your car (you need to bring your own charging cable). No elevators, but each room has its own microwave and fridge which is very handy. Denny's and KFC are just right across the street while Von's supermarket and El Pol Loco are also just one block away. Overall it is a very good choice for a day trip to Mammoth over the weekend. The breakfast is pretty decent BUT the recipe of their waffle mix taste like they forgot to put butter or cream inside. It taste so dry, you will probably choke if you don't have a glass of milk or coffee ready by your side lol.

We stayed there with two kids for a vacation to Mammoth. The hotel is really good value for the money and is a short 30-40 mins ride to Mammoth so you can easily do day trips to the mountain and back. The rooms are extremely clean and the breakfast room is wonderful with plenty of options for the whole family. Overall, highly recommend this place for a visit to Mammoth or nearby places.

Shared the room (#109) with a mouse! He/she woke us up attempting, ironically, to eat the complimentary chocolate we received for being Rewards Club members. When we informed the Front Desk personnel, they just shrugged, said nothing. No apology, no shocked reaction, NOTHING.

Arrived at BW Bishop having booked online. The hotel looks quite old and uninviting from the outside. Even on the stairs up to the room I was regretting my choice. However, when you enter the room, there has clearly been a recent update and the one night stay was looking more appealing. The upgrade gives a modern room, with plenty of storage space, a small table and chairs, a large tv, a microwave and fridge, and a very comfortable bed. There is a heating/air-con unit on the wall, which was somewhat noisy but did its job! The upgrade has not replaced the doors, and both the bathroom door and the main door to the room have seen better days. Slept reasonably well, though our room was by the main road, so the traffic noise built up around 5am. Maybe rooms further back would be a better option. This hotel was a reasonably priced option for a one night stopover travelling from Las Vegas to Yosemite.

Stayed here in November of 2018. Breakfast was average, room very small, hot tub not heated. Woke up in middle of night and heard rustling and something moving on dresser across the room. Husband and I got up and used flashlight to see what it was. Mouse was crawling across dresser going through our stuff. I informed the front desk of the mouse we had to share a room with. Front desk said there was nothing they could do. We are hotel rewards members, so you would think they could do something! No effort made at all. Very disappointed in Best Western. Don't recommend you stay here.

Stay at Best Westerns often. This was an older hotel that had been updated. Was there for 3 days. Staff friendly. Room was updated. Nice wood floor and fridge. Nice TV. Lots of room. Shower head very low. No closet. Light was right outside our room and curtains were not adequate to keep it from shining into our room at night. Has the small pillows which I don't like. Adequate parking. Good location as you can walk to a number of restaurants. Typical BW breakfast which is okay. Good value. Would stay again.

I use to come stay here when I traveled to see customers but on one trip, it was sad. I realized they were doing a remodel but It was sad. I was going back to Bishop and thought enough time had passed that I would try it again. I am glad I did because now that the remodel is over it is back being really nice again. Very helpful, friendly staff and the room upgrades are nice. They have a nice hot breakfast too!

We stayed there as part of our fly fishing trip at Crowley Lake. We found the hotel to be very good. The pros include large, clean rooms and a good, tasty breakfast. The cons include limited parking, some noise from the outside at night, and an AC unit that clicked on and off all night in a rather loud fashion except if the fan was on all night.

This was a great place to stay in Bishop! Our room had recently been updated with great style! My husband went for a walk around and found the brand new fish cleaning station. He talked with another guest and found out this new cleaning station was really appreciated by fisherman guests. Breakfast had a nice variety of cold and hot items and the attendant was very helpful. The front desk was friendly and had suggestions for dinner. Do add this to a place to stay when you are in that area!

The staff was very friendly and the breakfast in the AM is such a plus. It is located close to restaurants in town that you can walk to. The room was small but comfy. Pool was clean but the jacuzzi was not hot. Over all, a good room for the night.

This room was huge. It appears to have been recently remodeled also- love that there isn't any carpet. Hotel carpet (depending on the quality of the hotel) can be really gross. The bathroom is huge too. We were joking that the total square footage is almost as big as our house in LA. Breakfast was ok- came with the room. It was fairly standard for what you get for a free breakfast. I would stay here again, although there are lots of cute mom and pop hotels in the area that I would prefer.

I have stayed at BW in Bishop multiple nights over several trips. The rates I have paid are fair with what you get. Nice staff, comfortable and clean room, a quick bite in the AM. Close to coffee, food and beautiful mountains to the west and east.

This Motel is located on the main street and highway in Bishop within walking distance of restaurants, a coffee house, a famous bakery and one of the most beautiful city parks I have seen. I stayed there on my way to and from Tahoe on the nights of July 28 and Aug 5. My room was spic n' span, well air conditioned and roomy. The rent was a bit steep but it included a full American breakfast. I did have one issue with a room key that didn't work. That was resolved in a reasonably short time. Lobby personnel were friendly and helpful.

Driving through rural California on the 395, we stopped in 25 mph zone in a town called Bishop. Probably the largest in the area for a few miles until you hit Mammoth Lakes, CA. We were very tired so we got a room here. Pros - renovated rooms with laminate floors clean room and friendly service Cons - no frills, breakfast could have been better but for 1 night stay, we felt safe and on our way to our next road trip destination

My husband & I stayed here on our way home & we always enjoy the quaint city of Bishop. This hotel is well maintained & has trained their staff well. Check-in was easy but we were a little surprised that they charged a $100 contingency fee. Of course it is returned if you do not have any problems with damage/theft in your room. They do have good sercurity & there is a staff person who checks the parking lot in the evening so you are very safe there. It is a spacious facility with large, beautifully appointed rooms. The breakfast is also very adequate with many choices.The lady working in this area was kind enough to make us fresh eggs when they ran out just before the end of the breakfast time. There is only one concern that we felt kept us from giving them a 5 rating. The design of the outside hallways is that they are partially enclosed. This can be a good thing if it is very hot or snowing. It is a poor design, however, with the air conditioners on the outside of each room. The noise from them humming away resonates off the stucco walls & is a problem while sleeping at night. Even if you turn your unit off, you hear the air conditioners of the other rooms. They have a beautiful hotel & work hard to keep it that way & we appreciated that while there.

The perfect stop for the night between Los Angeles and Reno. Traveling with my 89 year old mom makes this a welcome and needed stop for the night. We have never been disapointed when we stay here (2-4 times a year)

This lodge experience was more like a 2.5 but since that wasn't the option I went with the 3. The price was fair, the room appeared to be newly remodeled with laminate flooring and tile in the wet areas. The basic, coffee maker, mini microwave and mini frig were nice to have items. The furnishings were good and the room was spacious enough but the noise factor was what kept me awake most of the night. The window was probably single pane so I could hear road noise and talking as though there wasn't a window there. The AC unit was very noisy and when it wasn't being noisy, I could actually hear outside noise from the AC unit since it was not mounted with proper seals so road noise just flowed right into the room.

The hotel was very nice. No Carpet. All Hardwood type floors. Very clean and functional. Close to everything you would need. Walk to Restaurant across the street. I was on my way to Yosemite and plan to go back soon.

Nothing special but the rooms are comfortable, quiet and reasonably priced. Easy walk to all of down town including the park and several good restaurants. Call ahead if you have pets as they only have certain rooms where they are allowed.

The Best Western doesn't look too nice from the outside, but we got a modern room that was spacious and clean. It definitely met our expectations and would recommend this hotel to everybody traveling from Vegas to SF or vice versa.

Nice clean comfortable room. Very comfortable bed. Nice staff. Great free breakfast. stayed there on the way to Yosemite and returned 2 weeks later on our way back. It is located in town so you can walk to a restaurant, bar, grocery store or K-mart. Very happy both times! I would definitely recommend this property.

Great place clean rooms, close to food and stores. Staff very helpful, and the lady who works the breakfast needs a raise she was non-stop refilling food great job. Rooms have a clean cozy feeling with a micro, fridge and coffee maker, also this place has a propane grill to use.

Very nice Hotel with the nicest staff in Bishop. We moved from Creekside inn to Best Western after a bad experience with the other Hotel. Not the most modern Hotel but the hospitality and price made up for it.I will return to stay here again

Check in was easy with a pleasant desk person making a requested room change without a problem. Our room was at the rear on ground level and was quiet, clean with adequate space and quite comfortable with a good bed. Parking a little tight but OK. Did not have their breakfast. Would stay again.

The room was clean, with modern looking decor. Lots of lamps with outlets to charge phones and tablets. Breakfast was very good with a nice variety and included warm items like scrambled eggs and sausage. The only thing that would have been better is sound proof walls. You can hear anyone talking in the parking lot, every car driving by, etc. Overall it was a good place to stay in Bishop- clean, comfortable, functional.

Room 236 was what we got, nice standard king bedroom with micro and fridge. The hotel is being upgraded. We didn't make the breakfast so we can't comment. It is centrally located so you can walk to several restaurants.

The Best Western Bishop provides clean, comfortable, no frills lodging. The breakfast accommodations are very good. Parking is possibly the least positive aspect of a stay at the inn. Overall, the Best Western provides excellent value for the cost.

We favor BW hotels on our road trips and the room was nice here and the staff pleasant but just one thing that stopped us from giving this place a high rating. In our room there was a molding across the access from the bedroom to the bath about 1/2 inch high. Likely because the tile in the bathroom is higher then the carpeted floor in the bedroom area. Unfortunately it is a dangerous tripping hazard when it is dark in the room which my wife did in the middle of the night and she could not see it. She hurt her foot but fortunately she did not injure herself further in the fall. I am really surprised they have left this unsafe condition there. Do not know if it is present in the rest of the rooms but check it out before you check in.

They were still remodeling when we stayed. We got a new room and it was very nice. No carpeting. I really liked it. The staff was friendly and they were a great help finding a place to eat. Parking is outside your room with walk up rooms.

We stayed 1 night, friendly check-in (nice pile of apples) and nice clean room. Coffee maker and fridge, wifi worked. No laundry on site - the laundry room looked like getting make over. Breakfast was good, usual complimentary items. Computer on site and free printing. We walked into town, nothing that far but we like walking! Would definitely stay here again if passing through Bishop

This is a decent option for one or more nights in Bishop. It was clean. The room was good size and clean. I wish they had thinner pillows though. The free breakfast is basic and good. They have welcoming staff.

And it wasn't even a plus! My husband and I take road trips every year and we prefer to stay in Best Westerns. The quality is pretty consistent and we like their value. This Best Western in Bishop must have recently gone through an interior update, because it was very modern and just fresh. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone headed to Bishop! Staff was very friendly and provided us with complimentary waters upon arrival for being BW members.

This hotel is always great. Check-in is easy, rates are reasonable, and if you're a rewards member with BW, you get water and chocolates at check-in. There are a few overall complaints but we'd definitely stay there again. Even though it's set up like a motel where the doors to your room are accessed from outside (instead of inside the hotel), the are partially open hallways, which means any noise is amplified and echoing. In the morning, as people are leaving and letting their doors slam shut behind them and rolling their suitcases down the concrete tile halls, it is EXTREMELY loud and difficult to sleep through. On a holiday weekend when there are families getting up early, this sucks. Only other complaints are small. Two small bath towels is not ever enough in a room. Even if you're just two people, you need at least a couple extras. Also, the pillows were a joke. Four tiny pillows on a king sized bed that add up barely the size of two king sized pillows is super uncomfortable. Also, in a motel that has basically space heaters instead of central heat in a town that gets to 10 degrees overnight, you may want to have extra blankets on the beds.

There were no accessible outlets for electronics. We had to pull furniture and cabinets out to find outlets to use to charge our devices. Otherwise room was clean and beds comfortable. Rooms were dark.

Nice hotel. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Bed was comfy too! Lots of space to move around. Best deal in town! Ben was very kind at the front desk and even got us an extra room for our hunting guide at the last minute. We will be back!

I travel with my dog and Best Western Bishop Lodge is the best. The rooms are clean, the staff is helpful and friendly and the location is great. Mostly, they welcome my dog and that is very important to me.

Bit noisy right on main drag, but good value. Try and reserve a room in back. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was clean and well stocked and staff was great! They show you the list of items at check in so you can decide the night before if you want stay local at the hotel or visit other Bishop breakfast locations. We stayed local. Ripe red pears, and fresh bananas for fruit. Simple sausage patties and eggs as you might see at any BW or HIexp. But waffles also had choice of either blueberry or plain. If ice machine is out, ask them for location of the other ice machine that is behind key'd door.

Apparently cleanliness is next to impossible for the staff at this place. The floor in our room was filthy - I made the mistake of kicking off my shoes and socks after a long drive, and had to wash my feet after walking on the floor! The room had a definite "funk" smell to it too, and had been partially remodeled - but the refrigerator was on the floor still. Free breakfast - yay! except when the staff person "cleans" the waffle iron by blowing the crumbs off of it! This is a motel, not a hotel, and it is seriously overpriced. The only reason we stayed was that we had already been driving for 10 hours, and had another 5 to go. Could not wait to leave in the morning. The only good thing I can say is that the beds were comfortable.

BW is on the main route through town, easy to find and within walking distance to restaurants. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The heater and fan in the room was noisy and it was not easy to get the temperature right.

Nice rooms, and a great staff! I was traveling by motorcycle a bit later than expected, and the weather turned against me. I was able to Bluetooth a call to Ben at the Bishop Best Western and let him know my dilemma. He quickly made a room ready for my arrival in 30 minutes. Love Best Western, and they once again validated my opinion.

Great staff, very friendly. We always stay here on the way back from our business trip to Reno. Also, very convenient and within walking distance to Schat bakery which opens at 6AM. Across the street is also the Upper Crust Pizza restaurant. I love their pizza.

The bed was not an actual queen as supposed to be, or it is a cheap small sized queen - we have one at home that is much bigger. Curtains were difficult to adjust. Remote was cheap and took forever to get to the correct programming, and the too long for it to go off-screen.

This property is in the middle of town. Park the car and go for a walk. There's a pleasant park, almost across the street, for a relaxing and low speed walk to stretch your legs and offers your 4 legged family member to enjoy being out of the car. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. A reservation error was quickly corrected without any fuss. The breakfast staff was exceptional as is the breakfast for a motel. The Bishop Best Western is a good reason for traveling CA 395.

We arrived at midnight and left the next morning at 6:00 am. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean and well kept. I would stay here again. I prefer thin pillows so my preference would be a thinner pillow rather than the thicker ones that Best Western has.

Room was tiny but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a large tv, much too big for the tiny room but we enjoyed watching the ballgame and felt like we were right in Dodger stadium. We always stay at best western properties when we travel. While this one is nice it is way overpriced. On our return trip thru town we stayed at a more affordable property and were happy with it so we will probably do that again when staying in bishops.

It looked like the rooms in the Best Western had been remodelled. The 2 bed queen room was very nice and the beds were comfy. The chap on the check in was very friendly and helpful.The only thing i would complain about is that if you are on the ground floor you will here people above you and also when someone walks by your room you will her the trundle and noise of there suitcase rolling along the tiled floor. Whoever decided that was a winner should be sacked. Its a nice choice to stay but stay upstairs.

We've been staying at the Creekside Hotel in Bishop for the past twelve years but due to changes their customer service has gone down hill. Being strong supporters of the Best Western chain we decided to give the Bishop Lodge a try. It's not much to look at from street, kind of looks like a prison with all the bars on the windows but that's just decoration and doesn't matter once your inside the room. Check in was quick and easy, we were getting the first night for free due to our BW points. Front desk man Ben was extremely friendly and helpful and despite an error in our reservation managed to get us room 222 for both nights of our stay. We were pleasantly surprised when we entered the room and saw the beautiful remodeling job they had completed. It was a very tasteful design. Beautiful bedding, wood flooring, earth tone paint and awesome updated bathroom, it was as if I had designed it myself. Two things that I might mention, I loved the thick new bath towels and quick hot water. Also enjoyed the high quality coffee offered in the room. We were very pleased with our choice of hotel. On our second night at about 9pm all the electricity in the city went out due to a project the electric company was working on. Even though it wasn't the hotels fault desk clerk Debbie gave us a discount on our stay AND hotel manager Joseph Cabral sent me an apology letter, now THAT is customer service. After twelve years we have found a new base of operations for our Sierra visits.

traveling for business, I was unable to sleep due to the poor sound proofing of the rooms. I was on the first floor and people above me were walking around well past 1 a.m. Calls to the front desk did not fix the problem.

Good room, quite but room had two Queen beds, table, chairs and it was very tight in the room. Bumped into furniture a lot and one bed against the heated/air conditioner. Easy walking to restaurants. Room was in back of property so no road noise.

This hotel is on 395 so it is easy to find. It is also close to places to go eat within walking distance. The room was clean and the staff were great. Only problem is the AC placement back out of the way so it doesn't do a good job in cooling the room off. We were further back from the road so we didn't have a lot of noise.

This isn't a fancy place but a good base camp for day trips in Bishop and the surrounding area. The continental breakfast is about average for a motel, which means I skip it. But Schat's Bakery is within walking distance.

The hotel is very nice, exceptionally good staff, close to gas and places to eat for lunch and/or dinner. It is close to some scenic places, such as Lake Sabrina and Tom's Place. My husband and I have stayed here about six times and wouldn't consider any other place in town.

All around great staff, mediocre breakfast and very small queen rooms. Location is great and walkable to brewery and bakery. and pool and spar are a nice touch. The queen room is extremely small (i have been in two different ones)

We were looking for a clean, quiet place to stay in Bishop that provided a complimentary breakfast—check, check, and check! We were given a gift bag at check-in with two bottles of water and two chocolates—nice touch! The bed was comfortable, the air-conditioner worked superbly, and the complimentary breakfast was surprising—eggs, sausage, waffles, lovely breads and bagels, fruit, cereal, and delicious coffee!

We stopped here on our way to Tahoe. The room was clean and comfortable. There were plenty of towels in our room. It was quiet and calm. The breakfast was decent: eggs, sausage, oatmeal. The waffle mix needs improvement as they fall apart when you stick it with a fork. As far as staff, the male at the front desk when we checked in could've been friendlier, more welcoming. The woman helping us as we checked out was helpful and kind. We appreciated her information about sights in the area as well her friendly demeanor. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.

The parking is terrible, I saw a person hit a pole right by the door to check in as I was leaving. There were several motorcycles taking up whole parking spots right next to each other. I wish that the hotel had a restaurant, room service, and an elevator. Then it would have been a good hotel.

Had a great stay on our way home from Lake Tahoe. The room was newly upgraded and was modern, clean and well designed. The daily breakfast was outstanding and offered a wide variety of cereals, waffles, bagels and drinks. This is one of the best breakfast offerings we'd seen in our travels.

We enjoyed our time at Best Western, very comfortable. The room was very clean. Had plenty of towels. The TV fit the room, so we were able to enjoy a movie. I'm a coffee drinker, and the coffee that was offered in the room was amazing! Only issue was parking near our room! We will stay again when we return.

Everything was ok with this hotel, just like any other BW I have stayed. clean room, clean bed,helpful staff . The only bad Isa y during my stay was that the carpet on my room was very dirty perhaps needs to be changed, other than that was ok.

Completely remodeled and this Best Western should be a Plus. Great breakfast.The staff is very friendly and helpful. We stay here every time we come to the Bishop area to go to Mammoth Lakes, June Lake, Mt. Whitney or just stay in Bishop.

This was my choice for stay between Yosemite national park and Las Vegas. The room was standard in every respect. It is well situated as you have a Denny's and a Kentucky Fried chicken right across the road. Room was somewhat smelly of excess detergents and needed to be well aired.

Older motel they tried to modernize but has a poor arrangement. Vinyl dark flooring with a throw rug between the beds makes the room look dark. If you drop anything on the floor you had better have a flash light or you will never find it again. Dresser/work desk has no lights and no plugs for electronic devices. As a matter of fact the entire side of the room has no lighting and remains dark unless the TV is on. There is one outlet near the 30" fridge but not close to the desk. Night stand between the beds has phone, clock, and lamp with 2 plug-ins and USB port but little room to set anything. Bath has a large tub with toilet that can be closed off but has tight quarters when you do. Sink and closet area has an Air Conditioner/heater near the door to bath and toilet. So, if you take a hot shower or bath you can cool off quickly as you pass in front of the air conditioner to the sleeping area. We were on the bottom floor and could hear everything from the room above. Again, no carpeting to muffle the sound. Beds were ok and room was clean. Parking is difficult as you may not find parking near your room.

While the night clerk moved us to another room within 10 minutes, toilets that do not flush and loud air conditioners make staying at the Best Western Bishop, CA a rip off. The toilet in the second room didn't flush either and the air conditioner was just as loud. A courteous staff cannot overcome toilets that do not work.

We stopped here on our way through Death Valley to Vegas. Great location for a stop. There are plenty of food places nearby. We got take out from Denny's and ate in our room as we'd had a long day. The rooms are nice, recently refurbished so clean and tidy. Good air con and all the facilities. Fridge and microwave if needed. Free wifi and breakfast top off the hotel. For the price, well worth a stay. There was a pool but we arrived too late to use it.

The best hotel in Bishop. The staff is welcoming. The hotel is clean and modern. In the morning you can enjoy a nice and free breakfast with a large variety of items. Big rooms well equipped. The pool is clean and open until 10pm/.The hotel is well located to road 395. Plenty of shops and restaurants in the surrounding of the hotel. Large parking.

We stayed here last year and they have redone the rooms...oh so nice...no carpet in our room - much cleaner, Loved the jacuzzi this time...it was a hot drive up from Los Angeles and this felt so good. Good breakfast too. Will stay here again.

BW Bishop Lodge is a great place to stay on your way north or if you just want to have a place to wagon wheel out of in the Eastern Sierras. Close to places to eat in Bishop. Walking distance. Staff is courteous and friendly.

No major complaints as such. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, room was an OK size and clean, breakfast was fine. Located on the main street with plenty of parking. Restaurants (nice modern little pasta/pizza restaurant on the next block), bars and shops very close by. Didn't expect a lot and didn't get it but it's not the sort of hotel you would spend a great deal of time in. All was adequate and it was convenient on our way to Yosemite.

Pool was nasty. No place for dogs outside, just weeds, asphalt and chainlink fence. The design of the hotel is strange - there is an exterior walkway to get to the rooms, and that dark walkway is what your only window looks out on. The AC units back onto the dark walkway and blow out heat there constantly. Worst Best Western we ever stayed at.

Room was clean and ready. People very friendly. Large, older property. Good location between Yosemite and Death Valley. Walking distance to several places to eat. Had great WIFI connections so could go to pool and still stay connected.

A nice BW hotel, centrally located in Bishop, California. Very clean rooms, compact, but roomy. Plenty of parking. Curteous staff. And a breakfast room that was generously supplied with eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, coffee, tea, milk, cereal, yogert. You can't have breakfast their and leave hungry.

just ok as a Best Western; floors were not clean got my feet dirty walking barefoot, bed not very comfortable, towels very good. Did not try breakfast, I will try other options next time I'm there in town.

I had a reservation with a 3:00PM check in time. But at 5:30Pm, my room (1st floor King) was not ready. I requested a different room, and the gave me a second floor King, which I took. There are no elevators in this hotel so I climb up a dingy poorly lit stairway in a building in the back. The room was decent size, but very sparsely furnished. Typically rooms with a single King size bed, include some other furniture, such as a upholstered chair, or bench, but not in this room. Some web sites label this hotel as a Best Western PLUS, it is definitely not in any aspect except the price. This hotel is a basic Best western.

This was a great hotel to stay at. No complaints at all. The room was spick and span, the beds very comfortable and the breakfast well presented and cooked. We used the pool which was small but very well kept. Plenty of parking. We enjoyed our stay here.

We traveled into the Eastern Sierras, and this was a nice place to stop for the night on our way home to Los Angeles. There is everything you expect from a Best Western experience; nice room, comfortable bed, filling breakfast and helpful staff. You can't go wrong here.

We are a family of four with two young children. This hotel is OK but is a little beat up and rough around the edges. Just a basic room with no shine. Our room door strike was loose and made it hard to even shut the door. It looked like it had been that way for a while. I let the front desk know the night we stayed - the next day when we were about to leave the maintenance worker showed up to work on it. The staff were friendly enough and the breakfast was pretty good too. We had planned to stay again the next week, but we cancelled and made a reservation at another inn in town. Pros: Decent breakfast, room was quiet. Cons: We were pulling a small trailer and it there is really on one spot in the whole lot to park a car with an attached trailer. Otherwise you need to park off property.

BW Bishop has become our traditional stop halfway between our trips to northern Nevada and our home in Southern California. The hotel never disappoints. The staff is very friendly upon both arrival and check-out. This time we had room 229 I believe, which I really enjoyed because of the size and location. Though close to the street, street noise is barely detectable with the air conditioner fan on. Plusses are a spacious room with two queen beds, lots of floor space, nice windows, less neighbors (or at least ones you could not hear) and nice proximity to the lobby across the parking lot. As usual, the beds were very comfortable, there was no problem finding parking and the place was quiet. We will continue to return.

Staff at Best Western Bishop CA was excellent! They went out of their way to accommodate our schedule when the had a nearly booked hotel. The website said they were full, but they found a room for us anyway.

This was my first time staying in the BW while in Bishop. We held reservations and tried to check in at 4 PM (check-in is listed at 3 PM). We had a very early start that day and did some hiking in Death Valley. We very much were looking forward to a cool room and the pool. It wasn't happening. This was the first time EVER I was told my room wasn't ready at check-in time. (We were told to return in a few hours, no earlier than a couple of hours). Furthermore there might be no parking as the back parking lot was being resurfaced. (Why would you resurface a parking lot during a busy tourist season?) There were a LOT of people in the lobby and the clerks were clearly overwhelmed. (To their credit they kept smiling and were friendly). We didn't want to chance having to roll our suitcases some way through town if there was no parking available at the hotel, so we left our car parked there. We explored the town on foot in 97 degree heat. After finally entering our room after 6 PM we found it to be pleasantly cool and seemingly clean. I found my bed to be comfortable. The floor was vinyl rather than carpeting, I appreciated that. The bath room was very old and in poor repair. There was a spacious area in front of the bathroom that included a new sink. The sink is of a type that seems to be popular but is completely impractical. It's a large square sink sitting on top of the counter rather than being flush with the counter. It makes washing hands or brushing teeth very difficult for shorter people. We were awakened around 7 AM by a work crew resurfacing the parking lot in front of our window. I prefer my mornings quiet and don't necessarily appreciate tar smell, either. The Breakfast Room was very crowded on day 1, not so much on day 2. There was just one worker who did a great job keeping everything stocked. She was clearly overworked, and there wasn't even a tip jar. Breakfast was typical BW, there's something for (nearly) everybody. I enjoyed it. Bottom line... diligent workers, and perhaps a management problem. Most BWs I've been to I would stay in again. This one doesn't seem to be on par with other BWs, so a return stay is very unlikely.

Started off badly with check in time at 3:00, we were told, after driving for 6 hours, that we could not check in for another hour. Employees were smoking in the hallway, which smelled every time we opened our door. TV Remote was missing, tried to call the front desk, no answer. Didn't have any when I walked over to the lobby...had to track down the maid to get one. The bathroom door stuck badly. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

My room was next to some kind of storage area. In a corner. Tiny. Everytime someone in another room flushed the toilet pipes in my room screeched like a pack of coyotes. A blank spot where the refrigerator was supposed to be.

Arrived late in the afternoon, tired from being "on the road again". Check in was a breeze. Room was clean, but upstairs and no elevator. When at our ages, with everything, including the kitchen sink, downstairs would be nice, but the "nicer" rooms are upstairs. At least no loud footsteps during the night. Breakfast was great and checkout was a good as the checkin. Nice place to stay in a beautiful town.

There were noisy people next door to us. We informed front desk and they did call the room but we were up late and had to get up early. The pool was nice and everything was clean. It was walking distance to restraunts and stores. Not sire of I would stay there again

Had to wait an hour for our rooms. It appears that check-in time is after 5:00 p.m. A/C in the room was loud and the bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was average but there is a Starbucks almost next door. The front desk staff were rarely interested in the patrons. The cost was much more than our rooms in Lone Pine at the Dow Villa and the rooms at this Best Western were smaller and not well maintained.

After a 7 hour drive we arrived at 3, which is check in time. We were told the room wouldn't be ready until 330, and another family in our group was told 4. No apologies and a half an hour wait in 89 degree heat later we got a room. The room we got was down the hall from the smoking area, which was too close to the rooms. There was constant cigarette smoke from guests and employees in our hall, and then in our room each time we opened the door. We tried to use the TV and most of the channels didn't work. We called the front desk and two housekeepers came in our room. One of them was drinking some kind of slurpee in the room as they told us the entire hotel has satellite tv issues which they couldn't fix. On a positive note it wasn't too expensive and the breakfast was good. The morning staff was also much nicer than the afternoon staff.

We always stay in this hotel on our way to San Diego from Reno. Then on the way back to Reno. It is a great hotel for family and they allow pets. They have a great pool and nice rooms for the whole family. The staff is always helpful and inviting and the free breakfast is great!

I took a road trip where I stayed at several hotels in California. The recurring problem of the rooms not being available until well after the standard 3:00PM check in time seems to be standard now. All office staff offered the same excuse: Not enough housekeepers, short staffed today.. It is tough after driving all day, stopping at the hotel you have reserved a room for and being told that it has not yet been cleaned and there are no other rooms available. This is not an acceptable excuse , staffing should be adequate to provide service. The Hotel knows how many guests have reservations and these rooms should be ready by the posted check in time!!!

Clean updated rooms. Quiet. All non smoking which is nice! Breakfast had everything from coffee, fruit, yogurt, cereal, waffles, eggs, sausage and more. Close to restaurants , all within walking distance. There is a pool and Jacuzzi too

Rooms have been renovated and are very roomy. A/C could use some upgrading. Very noisy when turned on. Needs to be turned off to sleep or watch TV. Very small breakfast room when compared to the hotel's guest capacity. Also we realized our door did not close properly as we were preparing to check our. Approached by someone trying to enter our room as we were loading our vehicle. Reported to front desk with description.

We stayed here for one night driving through Bishop on our way home from vacation. I booked 3 separate rooms for myself and my family members. I had my dog with me, the hotel is pet friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable, pretty spacious, too. The seating area around the pool was a bit tight on space, the pool is on the smaller side, but the area was clean and so was the pool. The breakfast was typical - eggs, sausage, waffles, assorted pastries, toasts, yogurt and cereal. The breakfast space was on the smaller side, some guests were waiting for tables to enjoy their breakfast at. Overall, our stay was pleasant. The rooms and hotel itself are great and we would definitely stay here again in the future.

We arrived in the evening, checking in went quick, we had the hotel prepaid. The outside of the hotel looks a bit old, not so clean but the rooms were very clean, modern and big! Airco, wifi and breakfast are included. Ideal for exploring yosemite (when Tioga Road is open!). One thing: we prepaid but they charged our credit card! (still have to work this out with them)

This is a great place from the nicely appointed lobby and rooms, to the friendly help and fantastic breakfast. The rooms are quiet and the wifi was quite fast. The lady would ran the breakfast area was very enthusiastic and made sure all the offerings were well stocked. Clean comfortable rooms with great air conditioning was the best.

Very Nice clean rooms. The fridge did not work but was put in order right away. The service is excellent and the breakfast one of the best in any motel. Lovely breakfast room, comfortable seats and lots of,choices. Waffles were made with waffle iron. Bravo. Nice stop on beautiful highway 395 to or from Los Angeles or San Diego. We highly recommend it.

Nice clean and comfortable hotel for visiting the area. Good breakfast and outdoor pool. Quiet at night with restaurants within walking distance. Local Railroad museum well worth a visit. Would stay again if in the area

Large hotel on Main Street of Bishop. Very friendly and helpful reception and fast quick check in. Got room upstairs far from street traffic so had a quiet room, very comfortable bed, super pillows, and a very large clean room. Great place to stay.

the rooms were adequate and redecorated but I had to ask for lightbulbs in lamps upon arrival. confusion slightly from being told bill credit card would be transacted in early hours of morning |(3am) and then told different in morning by another representative. rooms appear dark as they are covered by verandah walkway. adequate foir overnight stay.

We had been traveling for a few weeks and have stayed at smaller privately owned places. We were very disappointed in our stay here. We had to wait over an hour to check into our room and it was on the second floor with no elevators - my hubby had trouble with stairs :-( Our room was adequate, but no chairs to sit in, although we had plenty of room. The really needed a makeover, looked well used

Nothing was awful at this property and I might stay there again, especially if we weren't traveling with our dog. However, it was our least favorite of the four Best Western properties on this trip (Yreka, Lone Pine, & Winnemucca). When I made the reservation months in advance, I stated that we would only be a few hours away the day before (Lee Vining). The lady who I spoke to said if we got to Bishop early, come to the hotel and we should be able to check in early. We arrived just after 2:30 pm and there was one customer ahead of us. The desk clerk was on the phone taking a reservation and we both had to wait a while. Finally when it was our turn, I found out our room was not ready and we would have to wait at least 30 minutes. We drove around Bishop for a while and returned an hour later. Luckily the room was ready but the maid had just started cleaning the room next door, so I am not sure if it really would have been available by regular check in time. The room was clean and had wood/laminate floors instead of carpet. I assume they do this in their pet friendly rooms. A very nice bathroom and amenities. There was a very faint pet smell but nothing awful. The room was a little dark because there is a walkway with another wall in front of all the rooms. Breakfast was a typical good Best Western spread with muffins, waffles, sausage, cereal, etc. The hotel was not overly dog friendly. We have stayed at about 15 other hotels with our dog and this was the only one that did not have a grass area with poop bags for pets. There was no grass anywhere, so our dog had to pee in the gravel in the parking lot against the back of the Motel 6 next door. We took her on a walk in the evening to the park but it is blocks away and not convenient when it was almost 100 degrees.

Nice place to stay before yosemite. Just 1 hour drive to Tioga pass. Great mointain views. There is a small pool, small gym. Breakfast was regular. The rooms were big, nice and clean. The service was not out of the ordinary. All and all an average road side hotel. Nothing "Best" about it....

The Best Western in Bishop Ca is a solid choice, updated rooms with a great morning breakfast. Price/Room value is also good. Excellent on site parking and rooms far enough away from Hwy to not hear traffic noise.

This was not a 200$ room. The air conditioner rattled the wall all night. no sleep. The room was not that clean. This was not a good value. I would not recommend this hotel. Extremely overpriced. The only plus was the lady that was in charge of breakfast.

This is a top notch Best Western that not only accomodated me, but many others as well. They were helpful and gave information regarding road closures in the region that were helpful in helping me modify my route of travel safely. Knowing that Tioga Pass to Yosemite route 120 was still closed help me re-route my trip to the Sonora Pass route 108 which was safer.

The hotel has uncomfortable beds, dark smelly rooms, the outside is dirty. We do not recommend staying at this hotel. Check in at 3:30. The receptionist was strict on not letting us have the room a minute earlier.

This property is an acceptable place to stay for a pass through, but it is not an upscale hotel. The room was clean but had no comfortable seating. Breakfast was good. Hotel is centrally located, paring is good and decent restaurants are nearby. We would stay there again.

This hotel offers extremely convenient location, extremely comfortable and quiet rooms and awesome staff! The gentleman who checked us in was extremely cordial, helpful and went out of his way to ensure that we'd have as nice a stay in Bishop as possible. Exceeding all expectations! In addition, both the exterior and interior décor of this hotel are amazing. Gorgeous landscaping! Will definitely stay here on future visits.

Very helpful staff and willing to assist on a special request at check out. The breakfast is good and is also hot. The outside appearance of the hotel could be improved especially when it is a Best Western. The ice machines were down and they were working in the lobby but not to where it was an issue.

We've Been staying here the last five years for family fishing trip always clean and always plenty of clean towels. Prices are always reasonable. We usually eat the continental breakfast before heading out to fish

The Best Western Bishop Lodge was a good choice for our one night in Bishop. The location allowed us to walk to nearby shopping and dining. Our room was very clean, and the front desk staff personnel were very friendly.

I booked for the convenience and close proximity to the 'Mule Days Celebration" at the Fairgrounds. Centrally located and close to everything, restaurants and stores. I could walk to dinner or to Vons/grocery or to Smart and Final. Plan to stay here next year.

I stayed in a downstairs room and it was wonderful. Outside of my room was a double wall that was covered with flowers and vines. It reminded me of old Hollywood. The shielding also provided extra security and blocked any noise from the parking lot. The folks at the front desk were superb. They were professional but friendly and helpful. The morning buffet was one of the best that I had had on this 12 day trip. The food was hot and flavorful. The town was gearing up for the upcoming Mule Days and I really enjoyed staying here right in the middle of the action. I shopped at a local Sporting Goods Store that was going out of business and I got some unbelievable bargains from the wonderful owner who was soon retiring to fish and relax.

we stay every time we go to Bishop, we are extremely satisfied with this location, the Best Western Chains of hotels are great for your value, comfort and amenities , breakfast is a plus as well, we found the rooms to be clean and well equipped with our needs and expectations

Great place clean and near lots of food establishments. Provided a place nearby for us to park our huge truck. Breakfast was one of the better ones offered at BW. If I am back that way I will be sure to stay at this Hotel. Great little town, wish I was there long enough to do some sightseeing.

This looked like an ok place to stay for an ok price but it was very disappointing. Everything seemed worn down and worn out. The bed and bed linens seemed old and worn. The towels were tread bare. I would never stay here again. Look elsewhere.

No insulation in the walls ceiling or windows, heard everything, talking outside of room, people walking upstairs, water running, etc. Rude guest who slammed doors everytime they went in or out. Bed was hard as plywood. Front desk help couldn't redeem my points, but manager step up to the task and helped me.

The staff was pleasant. The rooms were clean. The rates were reasonable. They are refurbishing the motel. However....and this is big for me.... The air condition was an antique. If you are a light sleeper, plan on a long sleepless night. It banged, rattled and blew air like a 747. Before I booked, I'd ask if the air conditioner has been replaced.

I have been to this Best Western multiple times. I am a Diamond Select member so I see a lot of Best Westerns and this one seems to be going downhill even though they are remodeling. Once the pool was very green, the ice maker wasn't working and this time the place was a mess. Because of the remodel, the office was in a room, very disorganized and there was no "business center" which is usually a computer and printer at a desk. The parking lot, stairs and walkways in front of the rooms were very dirty and there was old furniture everywhere. I understand they are remodeling but most places put the furniture in a staging area. This didn't seem safe for all sorts of reasons. It is a big complex so it is a shame that it is in the shape it's in. The bed was not comfortable.

I made reservations online and had not stayed at this property before. That being said, all I can say about this property is that it is tired, tired, tired. The front office is in remodel and if it was anything like ghe room we sgayed in, it certainly need it. I am truly surprised that Best Western allows its name on this property. The rooms are dark and gloomy, partly due to being enclosed with a front facade that is neither good looking or necessary. The floor had cracked tile in the bathroom, otherwise it was ok. The bed was very comfortable but the furniture in the room was tired as well and quite awful looking. I would never sgay there again as there are two or three much nicer looking and new places that I am sure are competitive in price. We paid $129 including tax for what I would say would be a $65 room anywhere else. The breakfast provided was very good....great scrambled eggs and the sausage was very good. However, that would not bring me back for another stay.

Located in downtown Bishop, this property is shoehorned into a commercial lot so everything feels confined. During our April 2017 stay, the property was undergoing a remodeling, so building materials took up parking spots and added to the "small" feel of this property. Staff was friendly and the room was OK.

Positives: Room was comfortable and clean. The room was spacious. The bed sheets were clean. The bathroom had all the essentials, including lotions, shampoo, and conditioner. Reception people were nice and helpful. Negatives: The heater was terribly loud - not worth the heat. I ended up shutting it off. The building is undergoing construction so there may be hammering sounds. The room was stuffy so I opened a window to air it out. There were workers were hanging out by my building and smoking. That smoke ended up wafting into my room. Verdict: I would stay here again. After the remodeling, the place may be nicer.

Some construction going on, but room was nice with fridge and microwave. Breakfast was good with sausage, eggs, and waffles. Lobby was operating in gound floor room, but staff was helpful. Clean. Terrible choice of TV stations.

Comparable room to rundown motel. Good location but the motel need major renovation. Smelling room, dirty carpet, lobby is close for construction. Please check our other hotels in the area. Not the best western quality hotel.

Frequently I choose Best Western as my hotel when traveling. Usually I am pleased, but this visit on 24-25 March was not one. The toilet in our room was acting up, so much that we were afraid to flush it again as it was backing up and coming perilously close to overflowing. We were invited to use the facilities normally not available to guests in the converted temporary office in the motel. Not wanting that, we decided to go out for breakfast where a functioning toilet might be found. Upon returning, we were told the problem would be resolved during the day and we responded by saying we would be gone from 9 AM until 6 PM so the problem could be fixed during our absence from the room. Returning at 6 PM, we were unhappy to discover that nobody had addressed the problem. So again use of the toilet was a major problem and once again we went out for breakfast to obtain relief. Upon checking out, our billing was adjusted, but only slightly. A $20 reduction in the daily rate seemed rather minimal for a room going for a nightly rate of $116.99. To add to my discontent, the receipt was sent to a different party. Definitely there is a problem here.

Our room had a very noisy air conditioning, and the beds were very uncomfortable. Cancelled a reservation for our return because of the conditions. There was remodeling going on. We were first put in an upstairs room, very inconvenient as we are seniors and the stairs were really steep, so we switched to a downstairs room that was right next to the Check-in cause the lobby was being remodeled.

We stayed here for two nights over the July 4th weekend. This hotel in Bishop served as a good base for a few day hikes that we did in the Eastern Sierras. The hotel is located centrally in Bishop and has a good choice of restaurants you can walk to. Our room had a queen bed and was decently spaced; not too cramped up. It also had a microwave and refrigerator. Their complimentary continental breakfast was quite good. Parking spot was a little difficult to find close to our room, but I think this may have been due to it being the long weekend. Overall, had a good stay here.

We only stayed here for one night and enjoyed the stay. They are pet friendly and these rooms have laminate floors which is nice. The room was spacious and clean. There was a friendly lady working the front office upon checkin. Breakfast in the morning is included and was good. They offer waffles, bagels, eggs, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, bananas, apples, oranges, yogurt, etc....

Horrible, they were in a total remodel, exit doors closed off, pool closed. Men working everywhere and loud banging everywhere. They said they were doing a little fixing up when I called, but this hotel should have been shut down.

Do not stop here. This is a motel 6 not a best western. The room was left with garbage from another quest. This bucktooth maid was very very rude and complained about our RV to the manager who told her to drop it and she went out of her way to make us uncomfortable after that. Like a bully. "Accidentally" opening our door two times in the same morning and not apologizing. Calling the room really early saying wrong room. Then our room started to smell like weed so we called so we didn't get charged. She said oh well. Hammering really early and ale going off all night next door. What's wrong with people.

The quality of the room and the friendliness of the staff made my stay a great experience. I was really impressed with the layout of the room. I especially liked the bathroom. The vanity/sink area being separate from the rest made it much easier for myself and my travel companion to get ready. Also, my companion was so happy to see that the height of the shower comfortably accommodated his 6'2" height. That is apparently a rare occurrence.

The room is basic with all you need for one night. Table 2 chairs, dresser, 2 night stands, tv, coffee maker, small refrigerator, tub with shower, and rate includes breakfast. I'm not expecting much, but the rate is much either. My only complaint is the carpet is terribly stained and should be replaced.

my partner and I have often stayed in best western while In America. from sunset strip LA to Dallas. I will be wary now of booking BW because this road trip we came across 2 which were not up to standard. this was a travel lodge at best, dark, very very basic. a little worn. I think its price could have been halved. the staff were very friendly and no complaints on the facilities, just a little too basic for the price per night when we booked and stayed.

Our first impression of the room was negative but I think that was because the room was dimly lit. When we really thought more about it, we realized the furnishings and cleanliness were fine but there needed to be a little sprucing up. The location is close to Schat's bakery and near the edge of town so you have to drive to get around. The breakfast was the typical type you get in motels: cereal, waffles, juice. There was a breakfast place across the street if you want something nicer. Desk service was very nice.

The room was clean and updated. The only problem with the room, itself, was that one of the queen beds was too close to the entrance to the bathroom and it was awkward getting around it. The breakfast was disappointing. We had recently stayed at the Best Western in Winnemucca, NV, where the food and the ambiance were great! In Bishop, however, the eggs appeared to be reconstituted and the sausage wasn't good, either. The rest of the offerings were so-so. We had expected better. Finally, I left a small (sentimental) flashlight in the room. I know I left it there, as I was using it to find my way when I got up during the night. When I realized I'd left it, I called the hotel (two days in a row) and even stopped by when we drove back through a few days later. The flashlight apparently never was found/turned in and the person(s) I checked with seemed disinterested about my loss.

We enjoyed Bishop very much. This hotel is on the edge of town and so is quite a walk from many boutique type stores. IT is close to the grocery stores and a number of fabulous eating establishments. We ate at the Roadhouse and the Upper Crust. Both great. The noise proofing of these rooms is lacking and our room was along the street, so we could hear the traffic and anyone talking in the hall.

This is the first pet-friendly BW we've stayed at that didn't have a dog area, so that immediately gets it less stars for us. Pros: great check-in, very friendly, gave us dog biscuits. Room was quiet, as the dog-friendly rooms are in the back, away from the busy road. It was also large, but had 2 queen beds and one of them was blocking access to the bathroom. Hard to negotiate at night. The tile floors were good, but a few area rugs would have been nice too. Breakfast was good, lots to choose from, and very clean. Easy access to restaurants also. Cons: No dog area! The only place to take your dog is along the edges of the parking lot, and that's really not great. We walked down the street and found an open area, but it was dark and full of thorns that got in the dog paws. Yes, there is a nice dog park nearby, but at 11 at night or 6 in the morning it's not convenient to take them there. Probably wouldn't stay again with our dogs, but might stay if we didn't have them with us.

This Best Western has very small parking places and the visitor parking is almost impossible to get into so you can check in. The check in was smooth but there were a lot of people trying to check in so it took a while. They need two people checking in not one with a helper answering the phone. The lobby is neat and clean and on the small side. Our room was on the very small side with a very tall queen size bed. I never saw a bed this high, it is taller than our double stack water bed. The floor was a fake wood that looked very nice. The wi-fi speed was fine and worked all three days. The vanity area is a joke, very modern but the only counter space you have has the coffee pot sitting there so there is latterly nowhere to put your stuff when you are getting ready in the morning. The other problem is the ornate lamps need dusted. The location is in downtown Bishop so there are places to eat close by. The full hot breakfast every morning is a great feature. The dining area was always crowded but it is bigger than most BW dining areas. It was always clean and the gal was always busy keeping things full. The staff was super helpful when I called and asked about something we left behind, they located the item and gave me information on how to get it shipped back home. We had it back in 3 days. This was great.

This was our third stay here and it was great. The room was clean and comfortable. We like the amenities including the in-room coffee, the refrigerator and the microwave. The location is convenient for walking which we always do after a long road trip. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is always a plus!

Our ground floor room was very quiet - and we were given the impression the hotel was full. We have stayed at this BW many times. My only comment would be to try and provide a better pet area - as I noticed many pet owners staying at the hotel. Fortunately a wonderful City Park is close which gives us a chance to air the dog as opposed to the parking lot at the BW.

Location was good, but the quality of the room was like walking back into the 80's and the smell was horrible. It was only one night, so we toughed it out. The person at the front desk was asked for recommendations for a sit-down restaurant and she directed us to a barbecue place close to the motel. It was a order your meal and they would deliver it to you at your table. We walked out and found the Whiskey Creek restaurant a few miles away that served a very good meal. Overall, this Best Western is not updated, nor clean, and the breakfast is powdered eggs, fruit and the assorted dried out bread assortment. I would not recommend this property.

Overall a good experience. A bit crowed for breakfast but we got got what we needed. It is a popular motel in the Fall with lots of overseas visitors on their way to the Sierra. We stay here every year on our way to Death Valley. Motorcycle friendly place to stay. Recommended.

I always try to choose a BW when traveling as I am rarely disappointed for he value offered. This location has updated bathrooms and was very clean. I will say as to the bath area the remodel to a swank vanity left no room for a gal to even put her make up essentials and the mirror is set much too high. Minor complaints and not enough to prevent me from staying here again. Oh...when you ask the desk clerk where to get the best steak in town for a reasonable price and she says the Bowling Alley...believe her.

We come to Bishop to get away from it all . We always camp out, but we couldn't this time and decided to stay at Best Western. The Silver Canyon trail takes you all the way to the Bristlecone forest that is over 2000 years old and the trees are living in a dolomite limestone rock that is incredible to see. The shapes of the trees and the wonderful panoramic views. You must have a 4x4 to get to the top this way, otherwise you can go to Lone Pine and find your way to the forest on paved roads. What a beautiful place. Amazing

We were in Bishop for a family members memorial service, so it was nice not to have worries about the hotel. We have stayed here many times before, it is an older motel, but very clean, comfortable, and quiet, which helped during this difficult time

The motel is in a good location, within easy walking distance of some good restaurants and a fantastic bakery. The room was upgraded and clean but small, as in the size of many European hotel rooms. It was a bit pricey for the quality.

It was a good hotel just old I have stayed there about 12 years ago and it looks like the same as when I stayed there the last time. Could use a face lift it looks the same as it did 12 years ago. Very good location but for the amount they charge the rooms should look better.

Two night stay, but a mistake at the desk locked us out temporarily for the second night until it was corrected. Old hotel, somewhat tired. Good shower - very hot water. The toilet needed repair which we advised the desk. The towel bar for the sink is placed in a most inconvenient location and should be corrected. There was an excellent mattress, however, the fitted sheet didn't fit the mattress and kept popping up off of it. The breakfast room was attended by an excellent staff member who helped everyone - even making waffles, which were good.

Stayed over night here whilst driving from death valley to Yosemite. Great hotel and breakfast. Rooms were spacious enough and were clean. Didn't really stay long enough to comment further but staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was OK too.

The motel itself is alright, but the staff there could do with some customer service brush up. When we checked in the staff acted like she was doing us a favor. We were suppose to get gift bags for being rewards members, not so much.One of our group had to ask for it, I didn't bother with it.

The staff was very helpful in under cover parking of my motorcycle. Even volunteered to keep an eye on the bike during the night. The breakfast which comes with the room was plentiful and the lady in charge kept things clean and addressed all questions from guests many of whom were from Europe. The pool was clean and refreshing after the long bike ride.

There are several choices when traveling through Bishop, but because of Best Western's reputation and cost our choice was easy. On the next trip through I will make Best Western my go to place to stay.

good property for one night stay ,room was clean and bed comfortable Breakfast could have been better with more choices.. roll in shower was a plus for handicap rm. Hole in parking lot by handicap room is a possible danger to someone.

We ended up staying a second nigh and they were very accommodating as we were only booked for one night. Thanks to the staff. The accommodations were neat and up to date, we will be staying here again on our next visit to Bishop.

This place is clean and I would stay there again. I will say that up front. I don't mind what I consider a lackluster breakfast, but I have two real gripes. First, the wifi is AWFUL and, for this much money, it should be decent. Finding the network was no problem. The network, itself, was dead or super slow. Second issue - there may be parking spots for everyone, but it was a real rat race out there and I was worried I would not find a spot if I left for an hour.

This motel is clean , easy to find , comfortable , and the staff is very helpful . They have breakfast available ,although we didn't partake. We have been here twice and will return. Check In and Check out is quick and easy .

This property feels very crowded and hard to move around in both on foot and in your vehicle. Breakfast area was very tight! Food was average....not bad at all...just not like the other BW's we have experienced on our trip. Staff was very whatever. Not bad...just not OUTSTANDING like those in Mariposa or Lone Pine. Sorry...just not AS GREAT as the others.

I am a person with limited mobility. When making my reservation, I noticed that the facility was 2 stories and assumed that there was an elevator. Not mentioned in the hotel website at all. When checking in, we were told that we would be on the 2nd floor. Imagine our surprise when we asked about an elevator and told there wasn't one! We than asked to be put in a ground floor room. Was told that there would be an additional charge of $30 a night. Said room would be ready at 3:00 pm, wasn't ready till after 4:00!

For the money thought stay could have been much more accommodating. The competition offered what appeared to be much nicer facilities, parking etc. Rooms small for instance two queens stuffed into a room. Looks like the room was originally designed for a single bed occupant. Appears that BW is trying to turn an older 60-70's vintage property into an updated one. I think they failed, sure you have a bed and shower but for what it cost my family to stay for 2 nights , (1000.00) for 3 rooms it just wasn't worth it.

We came into Bishop for the Eastern Sierra Tri-County Fair. We were working the fair so we were there for 4 nights. The staff were very helpful and always pleasant. There is a free breakfast included and being gluten free there is usually nothing for me to eat. The girl at the desk heard me mention that and proceeded to tell me about the gluten free options at the breakfast (a first for me). The free breakfast also included sausage and eggs which was a nice change from other hotels who just serve waffles and breads. The rooms are spacious and come with both a fridge and a microwave. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were soft. We had a problem with our bathtub in our hotel room on our 3rd night and had to be moved to another room. Michael, the resident repair person came to our room in the morning with 2 cups of coffee for us and then helped us move all our belongings. He was very kind and extremely hard working! He is the kind of employee anyone would want on their payroll. Two negatives...1st - I went to the gym and the weight machine was missing several parts and was unusable and we were unable to get the ecliptic machine to work. 2nd - We loved coming back after working and seat around the pool enjoying a drink and a snack. It was closed down every night at 10:00pm when clearly there were several folks enjoying. We were always quiet (the pool is also across the parking lot away from any room) so it would be nice to keep the pool open until at least 11:00pm.

I have tried several places in Bishop and am a Best Western Diamond member so I thought I would check this one out. When I checked in the ladies were nice enough but were interested in talking to each other a bit. I have seen reviews that said the staff is friendly and for the most part, they are. The room was about the average size for Best Western, has laminate wood flooring, the sink, fridge and microwave are around a wall divider, TV was mid sized, WIFI wasn't very good but the bed was pretty comfortable and the room was clean. There are two ice machines but only the one in the back of the complex works when you put your key in a slot. The other is out of order and the sign looked like they don't plan on fixing it soon. The pool was out of order and very green. Check the photos to see how green. I heard several people say they had been out to Yosemite or other places and they wanted to get into the pool to cool off since it was over 100 degrees outside. Some had kids that wanted to swim but even the kids noticed the pool was really green. The office knows about it but it seemed there was no plan to fix it either. The AC is in the vanity area and it is a little loud. There seems to be more rooms than parking spaces and when I was there, it was fairly full. I have to come to Bishop about every 4 months so I may stay here again.

My boys and I just returned from our annual Labor Day "Last Day of Summer Vacation" hurrah and used this hotel for the long weekend. Overall, it's an adequate hotel. Pros: 1. Price. 2. Large room. We had room 229 and it was large enough to comfortably accommodate two queen sized beds plus a twin-sized roll-away and a small "dinette" table and chairs. 3. Great Front Desk Staff: Really pleasant, professional bunch. Cons: 1. Noise. It's an older hotel and being up against 395/Main Street, makes for a somewhat noisier hotel than, say, Creekside Inn. You will hear the next door neighbors doors, water, street/traffic noise, noise from the parking lot and, since the hotel backs up against the track / fair grounds, expect noise from that area as well. 2. View: Our view was the maintenance yard just to the north of the hotel. 3. Maid service: This is probably an anomaly but our maid forgot to clean our room. They took all the bath towels and didn't do anything else. This is probably an oversight. I tracked down a maid and she gave me an arm-load of towels, soaps, shampoo and coffee and numerous apologies. 4. Internet Service: Very poor, as other reviewers have mentioned. I had much better cell reception. Our room was ready ahead of schedule and we were able to check in about an hour ahead of time, which was nice. The rooms come with standard amenities, such as a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, blow-dryer, ironing board/iron, large flat-screen TV, etc. Bath towels, soap, shampoo and such were in abundance on day one. See above for day two's result. Beds: I didn't list this as a pro or con as this is very subjective. I found the beds to be too soft and had a lower back ache for the weekend. My boys had no issues. Judge for yourself. Pool: It was a shade windy so there was some debris/leaves in there; nothing terrible. We used it both evenings we were there. The grounds include a separate common area kitchen by the pool to clean your fish. The hotel itself basically surrounds the parking lot so when you walk out you're in the asphalt parking lot with the cars. There's not enough spaces for all the rooms so you may have to park in a "non-space" by the front office. Overall, it's an acceptable hotel. I've stayed in much better Best Western's but this is more of the 'norm' for the chain. When we return to Bishop, we'll probably be using Creekside Inn.

stayed overnight to rest and continue on trip it has been very nicely renovated however the internet is very "iffy", if not pretty useless for Smart phones etc. Grandchildren loved the pool. We stayed there on our way home from our trip so all in all it was OK

The staff here at the Best Western are very nice and friendly. The rooms are very nice and comfortable for two people with lots of things with them. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. The shower is nice and the bathtub is large enough to stretch out and relax.

We got there late, as usual, so we had to park far away from the room, in the back. However, there were plenty of spaces. The hotel obviously had been constructed in several sections, because there were two steps down from the higher second floor outside walkway to the lower second floor portion. This was annoying when trying to roll our suitcases from the back to the front of the property to get to our room from the back parking lot. The room was very nice other than that the air conditioning was most effective by the bathroom, so the rest of the room stayed pretty warm.

Very dark room during the day, at night the lights in the hall keep it very light. There is also a lot of road traffic noise. Internet is terrible. Impossible to make travel plans. The Travelodge is a cheaper chain, but it looked better from outside than this hotel. Despite TA rating, I don't think this is one of the best in this town. The decoration is a typical BW. Large TV, quiet refrigerator and a microwave. 2 Bag racks enough room for luggage. Clean with enough towels. Basic amenities. Breakfast was typical with waffles and fake eggs. Rain follows me wherever I go it seems, even in the desert! Found the natural Keough Springs but it was so windy and raining we could not even get out of the car! Bishop information office was very helpful. Bristlecone Pine must be visited!

Friendly, efficient. Not too big. Nice room well equipped. Surprisingly big pool and small gym. Good included breakfast. Right on the 395 between Yosemite and death valley. Supermarkets nearby. Wished we could have stayed longer.

entire staff was professional, helpful, and very friendly. Room was very clean and updated. Would recommend to anyone traveling in the area. The breakfast they provided was very good with a nice variety of items to eat.

We have stayed in Bishop many times, once before at this property. This time we were more than satisfied with the experience. The facility seems to have upgraded since our last stay. Our room was quite nice, very clean, with plenty of space. The much needed air conditioning worked well. The staff was friendly and efficient. The free breakfast was not great, but served its purpose. We will stay here again when in Bishop.

fairly nice best western. a/c was very noisey, but had to be used as it was hot all night. check out was easy. breakfast was continental, but theres a denny's accross the street. bed was comfy. bathroom was kinda a bad lay out could barely get in it.

I always enjoy lodging at Best Westerns when ever we travel. Although this one in Bishop, Ca didn't meet our expectations, with not having the pool in operation or able to fill the Ice bucket, it's not enough reason for me to exclude any future BW's. Since we travel to and from the Lake Tahoe using Highway 395, I would still consider the Bishop Best Western.

Tried 16 hotels tonight and all fully booked, when this Best Western had room we thought the worse, how wrong can you be, excellent clean room, all mid cons, queen bed, microwave, coffee machine,ect the room is like a small studio, after driving 500 miles from San Fran through the mountains and Yosemit it's absolutely fab, and they have won our custom , give them a try

We paid extra for this room despite cheaper options in town so our kids could use the pool. Pool was closed for repairs. Secondly, the faucets in the shower were mislabeled, so my kid almost burned himself trying to figure that out. Finally, ice machines were totally empty day and night. We gained NO VALUE by paying extra for this room.

Every thing was good except the air conditioners. If you can't sleep, it ruins everything else. Great breakfasts. Good people. Good location. Great Japanese restaurant nearby. Next to the fairgrounds. Surprisingly quiet.

We were just passing through Bishop, and needed a hotel for one night. After reading reviews, I called Best Western to book. I was not disappointed. The rooms were spacious and very clean, and had everything we needed. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very good.

My family and I stayed at the BW Bishop Lodge on our way home from Yosemite. The two ladies at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was a bit small but was nicely furnished. The beds and pillows, in particular, were excellent. The air conditioning worked well but was extremely loud, and I had trouble sleeping because of it. Another issue I had was with the odd wall that separates the bedroom from the sink area. This wall is separated from the ceiling by a few feet, and the bathroom light hangs close to that gap. I slept in the bed next to the wall, so when someone got up to use the restroom in the middle of the night, I was awoken with the light right in my eyes. I'm not sure who decided on that design, but I think Best Western could have spared a bit more money for a wall that reached the ceiling. All in all, the Bishop Lodge was fine for a night's stay given how expensive hotels in Bishop can be.

We have stayed at this Best Western for the past 4 summers. Just one night before backpacking. The rooms are clean and large. The workers are friendly. The breakfast is quite good with lots of choices.

During our recent travel we stayed at Bishop Bestwestern & there were 12 LA DWP trucks staying there during prime summer hours, the Breakfast hours were short 6-9am, normal hours should be 6-10am & the one lady was over worked. My stay was $145.00 plus tx, too much for what I received. I hope they do something before it turns itno a Motel 6, I also stayed in Lone Pine & Mammoth Best Western & they were excellent.

Decent hotel. Probably the best there is in the area for hotel options. Upgraded interior of room, but bed was HARD AS A ROCK. Not enough parking. Breakfast is a pretty standard Best Western free breakfast. Would recommend.

This Best Western is a nice property and located close to restaurants, shopping and outside activities. Property appeared to be recently remodeled and in excellent condition. The grounds were well maintained and free of any form of litter. Overall a quality property and good value for the room rate charged.

Stayed for 1 night at the end of our 7 day road trip. Would stay here again. The motel is on the main highway but you do not hear any traffic. Nice updated rooms and comfy bed splus the front desk employees very helpful and friendly.

We stayed for one night, Bishop is a small town beautifully located on a flat between the mountains. The hotel had everything we needed for the night, a small fridge and a working AC-unit. The breakfast was pretty sweet :) Some in our group had some real problems with the WiFi, and the gym was supersmall and warm. 2 liftingmachines and 3 cardiomachines.

We stay alot at BW, this one is a little older but kept up well. It was clean and the rooms are comfortable as usual. The best thing about this one is the staff. The ladies at the desk were the most pleasant I have incountered at a Best Western.

Very friendly staff; Front Desk very helpful to get you the room you would like, Maintenance guys who respond quickly to the breakfast lady who is very helpful. I would recommend you give this place a try and see how great the staff is.

Good decor and size. Good soundproofing and nice breakfast. Not far from fairgrounds, restuarants and supermarkets. Small refrigerator and microwave was ok. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pricing was appropriate for location in resort town.

Small hotel, with comfortable rooms. They are a little on the small size, but have all the necessities. The only downside to the room, was the low shower head. It isn't tall person friendly; however, the water pressure is awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

From our check in, during our stay, and at check out all staff were helpful and courteous. Room was well appointed, clean and neat. Breakfast was way more than we have at home. Help with breakfast was outstanding.

On arrival, which was late afternoon, we felt rate was quite high, but we were tired after a long drive. Settled into a nice good size room and left for dinner at Amigos down the street. On returning to our room and getting settled, we began smelling smoke and my husband started having big time trouble breathing. Turns out an older couple were outside their room, just down from ours, smoking cigars!!! My husband notified the office and they immediately gave us another room elsewhere. He slowly improved after sitting out by the pool getting some fresh air and having a hot shower. Was disappointed that pool area wasn't kept up well and spa only had two jets working, stated another guest. The breakfast buffet was standard fare. Hostess was very sweet. On checking out they had given us a discount for our inconvenience which we thought was very nice of them!!!!

over all very good stay. only problem was no ice on upper floors and no elevators. makes inconvenient to keep going down and across the parking lot to get ice. and not having a luggage lift for upper floors

Everything was as I pretty much expected, I just wish the rooms for the handicap were larger. I have only one leg and some things were hard for me to do with my scooter. Less furniture and more lighting would be very helpful. This Best Western needs more handicap parking spaces. Also the Ice machine on my row was not operating so we had to go across the parking lot to get ice.

Stayed one night for a business trip. Hotel was good especially for the rates. Everything appeared clean and orderly. It was relatively quiet and located close to restaurants and stores. You can just walk to them if you'd like. Staff was nice and the breakfast was good if you are satisfied with hard boiled eggs, cereal, toast, etc. If you want a better breakfast, stay at the Great Western in Lone Pine (Frontier). In any case, there are a few breakfast places in Bishop you can opt for. I would stay there again.

My wife and I drive to Southern California several times a year and always stay at Bishop Best Western. we appreciate the staff because they always go out of their way to ensure we have a great stay. We have, in the past recommended the Bishop Best Western to a number of friends and family and they too love the Bishop Best Western

This was a nice hotel and fulfilled our purposes for business use while we were in Bishop. Internet was a bit slow in my room (211) but otherwise everything was great. Can be a bit noisy as walls are thin.

When you are traveling in this area, you can't go wrong with a stay here. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast sausage was extremely good. The rooms are very large at this location and the decore is appealing.

Typical small hotel that was clean, bed was comfortable but the air conditioner unit was loud. Water pressure in the shower was great. They have a small breakfast like most Best Western's do. Bill who checked us was very nice.

This weekend could have been a disaster due to a glitch in my reservation. I was scheduled to stay in Lone Pine however I was one week early than my reservation. The folks at Lone Pine Best Western called Bishop where they had the two rooms I needed for that weekend. Thanks Best Western, Lone Pine and Bishop!

hotel is in need of some updating for sure the refridg was on the ground and it was 1 of those square cube ones very small. Very nice staff, breakfast staff goes out of her way to help all. Bed was comfortable.

The rooms do what you need. The gym is a nice touch with modern equipment. The breakfast was the best we had at motel accommodation. What made this place stand out was the fact the found a passport and helped get it to us. Could not be more appreciative.

Although our stay was overall not bad, I would suggest that if you are given a room in the very back building, the carpet may have a distinct odor that is not pleasant. We requested to move to another room which was better and did not have carpet. Room was large and beds comfortable. Hot tub and pool clean however, the surrounding area looked like it was not well maintained.

I work in the area for a few days every three months. Even though there are properties closer to my destination I always opt to stay in Bishop because of the ability to dine at different locations without having to give up my first born. This property is a nice property and the staff is always helpful with any needs I may have.

Being an older style motel the rooms are not large but this was not a problem for me. The staff were helpful and friendly and the included breakfast was as expected. Although on the highway my room was well back and I could not hear any traffic. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance so all round a good place to stop in Bishop.

We stayed inn Bishop for just the one night, passing through on our way from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon. The staff were friendly enough, and the room was comfortable and clean with a decent bathroom. Breakfast was included in the morning. It was simple, but there was enough variety. I felt like the staff could have been a bit more helpful when we asked for suggestions where to eat the evening we arrived, but it's a convenient and comfortable hotel in a small town without much to do, but with great views of the mountains.

The best thing about this hotel was the wood floor in our pet friendly room! How smart not to have carpet in the rooms for pets!! It was clean, there were areas to walk your dog that felt safe. Breakfast was good, the outside of the Hotel is aged but our room seemed newly redecorated and again nice clean wood floors!!

This hotel is the best place to stay while enjoying the scenery of the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountain range. It is comfortable and the staff very welcoming. It's proximity to the center of Bishop makes it very convenient for walking to restaurants. After a long drive this is the best place to stay!

The gentleman who checked us in was first rate, a good source of advice on local attractions. The grounds and rooms are very well cared for. Great neighborhood, pleasant and walkable near the middle of Bishop. Several good restaurants. We chose the Imperial Gourmet to relax with a drink and good food after a long day of touring.

We liked the way staff took care of business, and the friendliness was a plus. Breakfast was fair, and not like a high quality buffet, but was acceptable. Room was clean, but bathroom a bit small. It was a fair experience, and would stay again.

It was a very nice place to stay, a little to pricey as we have a small dog so it increased the price by $20.00. We stayed there before and liked it because it was next to the fair grounds, a good place to walk the dog.

The room was too small and poorly arranged. The heater was noisy. It was difficult to use the sink because the area was cramped. I'm surprised Best Western franchises this property. It's obvious its been converted from a very old and much less expensive hotel. It's not worth the $130 rate.

If you are driving to or from Las Vegas heading from or to Northern California this is a great place to stay to get rest so you don't have to make the drive in one day. You can take in the beautiful scenery in Death Valley and also go into Yosemite if you wanted.

room was very clean and comfortable. Check and check smooth. The breakfast was a full hot breakfast and excellent. The gal that worked the breakfast was super. breakfast Room and food was kept clean and stocked. she assisted as needed, and was a very pleasant cheerful person

This is fine for a night or two. The pet room was clean and spacious with laminate floors which is a nice idea for it. The location is within walking distance of at least 3 restaurants. It was very quiet except for a couple of barking dogs in the room next to us, but it didn't happen during the night or early AM just for a bit during the dinner hours. Clean and quiet. I put "average" for service because we reserved a king and got 2 queens.

Had a great stay here during a roadtrip, en route to Mammoth from Death Valley. Clean, comfortable, quiet. Excellent service, polite and friendly front desk staff and breakfast. Plushy beds, gorgeous, modern granite bathroom countertops, basin sink.

The hotel was very clean, the room smelled very fresh upon arrival, was really small, but it fit the bill for our needs. The hotel was very quiet as well, breakfast was good in the morning, and the staff was very courteous and friendly

Very nice place, clean, beds comfortable, good breakfast. The staff are helpful, I had an issue with the TV they were prompt to try and fix the problem or offer another room. The issue was resolved. I will go back to this hotel.

If your looking for a cheap convenient place to stay near Mammoth this is it. The free breakfast is somewhat limited, but it will get you through a morning of snowboarding. I have stayed there about a dozen times this winter and if you eat breakfast when they open at 6 you can be at the slopes before they open at 8:30.

I have stayed at this Best Western many times and have never had a problem. The room is always clean and the staff helpful. The breakfast is fine. There is dinning close by within walking distance. It's a nice stop over while traveling to Tahoe. Great views of the Sierra Mountains.

This was our second time at Best Western Bishop. We found everything very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent. The staff was helpful and recommended good eating places. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to many restaurants.

We stayed here the night before our Mammoth trip. My friend found a bed bug on her pillow!!! We were moved to another room and no bed bugs were seen in the new room. But we did not sleep that night. Not coming back and I recommend you look elsewhere for a motel in Bishop.

right across the street from great pizza place, right on main strip. Great breakfast separates this hotel from others in the Bishop area. Others might have some stale pastries, fruit and juice. BW has fresh food, waffles, eggs, sausage. This is separating factor when staying in Bishop.

We have stayed here multiple times as it is midway from home to Lake Tahoe. Convenient, clean, and comfortable. The best Chinese cafe is across the street. Aaron Shaats Roadhouse has amazing burgers. Why do I need 200 characters to say I had a good stay in Bishop? It was only one night.

We live in San Diego, CA and had just spend a week skying in North Lake Tahoe and we stayed at our condo in Incline Village. We had made the 10.5 hour drive up there, but didn't want to drive the 10.5 hours back home to San Deigo, so we decided to stop and stay in Bishop, CA. We selected the Best Western Bishop Lodge based upon price and it was worth every penny. We do plan to make the trip again within the next few months, but this time we will stay in Bishop on our way up and on our way back.

No problems during our stay, everything about the check-in service and our room is exactly what you hope for at a Best Western. We love staying at Best Western in Bishop. Its a no-worries-about-anything stop traveling the Eastern Sierras.

I stayed here with my dogs for 2 nights. They have specific rooms for dogs that have faux wood floors (laminate) and they are actually very clean. The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and the morning "breakfast" is what you would expect from these chains. That said, they do have a good selection of cereal, fruit, yogurt, and the like. Coffee is good. The dog run/bathroom area is actually very small and is wedged between parked cars and a fence with overgrown vegetation. The hotel could do pet owners a favor by cutting that stuff back. Otherwise, I have no complaints about this place.

We booked a room here at the last minute this past weekend, because we were running late and got sidetracked on our way to Death Valley and didn't want to find & set up camp in the dark. We like to take our dogs on road trips with us, and often find it difficult to find nice, clean places that allow pets. Admittedly I'm also a bit of a hotel snob, and usually prefer to stay in places like the Marriott, the W, or nice/clean Airbnb rentals, so I was a little worried. However, when we opened the door to our room, we were very pleasantly surprised to find a very nice, clean and spacious room, with mostly modern (updated) decor!!! Cleanliness is a HUGE concern for me when traveling and finding accommodations. This hotel definitely passed the test. Our pet friendly room looked like it had been recently remodeled/updated, and it had two double (or queen?) beds, nice wood laminate floors (I HATE carpets in hotels! The potential for germs freaks me out and just doesn't make sense to me!), a nice bathroom sink area, two luggage racks, decent bathroom, and many other positive aspects. Back to the potential for germs... I confess that I might be a little OCD about this, and I ALWAYS travel with a pack of Costco disposable sanitizing wipes, and usually wipe down hotel room surfaces, as well as in planes when traveling overseas or out of state, lol. This room appeared clean enough to pass my OCD test, and I found myself relaxed enough to leave the wipes in my luggage and not compelled to wipe everything down, LOL. The hotel grounds were not the fanciest or the most updated, but they certainly appeared to be very clean, quiet, and safe for two females traveling together. My friend/travel partner and I slept very well/soundly! There was a very conveniently located "dog run" for me to take my dogs outside on demand and we were also informed by the desk person that there was also a dog park less than a block away. They even gave us a small and thoughtful "goodie" bag with two treats for our dogs! :) I felt very safe taking the dogs outside to the run at night by myself. The hotel serves a continental breakfast in the morning, but it only lasts until 9 am, so we missed it, thinking it would run until 10 am like at most other hotels. This wasn't a big deal, because it just meant that we had to drive down the street to Schat's instead, and how terrible is that? LOL. The hotel is also directly across the street from Denny's, which we also found very convenient, since we arrived in town late, and most restaurants were already closed, except for Denny's, and so we were still able to have a late dinner. The desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly and courteous. In the morning, we were greeted by a nice view of the snowcapped mountains from the parking lot/dog run area. The area where the pet friendly rooms were located was very quiet, and I found it easy to maneuver my full-sized F250 in the parking area back there. My only regret is not taking photos of how nice the room looked before we occupied the room, so that I could post and share here. Staying here made me very happy, because now I have another option in terms of a clean, friendly, pet friendly place to stay when I am traveling with my family and dogs in that general area. We usually drive all the way to Mammoth and stay at the W when we have the dogs, but admittedly, the W is sometimes super pricey, and this is a much more budget friendly option, and I am completely enamored with the town of Bishop, preferring it over Mammoth. I had not stayed at a Best Western in many years, but I will definitely be staying at the one in Bishop again, and might even make the trek out to Owen's Valley and the Sierras more often, now that we have a nice, clean, affordable and pet-friendly accommodation option in Bishop. Have stayed in the hotel once before and am glad I went back. Very friendly desk staff..and the breakfast is tasty. If you are a coffee drinker you might want to go to the Starbucks down the street. The rooms are large...clean and quiet. We had two queen beds and enjoyed spreading out. The rates are reasonable...so drop on by this best western. It lives up to its name.

Staff was a little rude. Just one person. Requested an early check in and showed up about an hour and a half early. My (ASSIGNED) room wasn't ready. Come back in 45 minutes. Walls are paper thin. It was like the people next door were in my room with me.

We try to stay at Best Western motels since we travel a lot with our two small dogs. This is one of the best BW motels we have stayed at. Everyone was friendly and the room was very nice. I don't have any negative thing to say. I would highly recommend this to all my friends and family.

We spent a very pleasant night at the Best Western in Bishop. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and our night's rest was very quiet and restful. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel when we are in the area again.

We were driving from Las Vegas to San Francisco and we were recommended to use a particular hotel in Bishop as a mid way stop over but when we arrived that one was full (we hadn't booked!!) so we drove to the next available hotel along the road and it was this one. Very helpful front desk lady who sorted out one of the only two remaining rooms they had left (not sure why this town was so busy - it's in the middle of nowhere :-) ) Good, comfortable and breakfast was also ok

I have stay here before and always enjoy it. The folks at the front desk are friendly and helpful. On this stay I had two rooms my coworker could not attend at the last minute. I needed to cancel one room. I called the 1800 number and they did not help or give me any solution. I hang up the phone with a very bad impression for the folk working those phones. The folks at the front desk were able to help me and like always give me a great services. I visit bishop quite a few time a year and I would stay there again. Not sure I would ever called the 1800 number again.

Booked by travel agent with the address of Bishop, Death Valley. It is in fact 80 miles from Death Valley. This turned the next days drive planed to be 380 miles into 512 mile day. The hotel was OK and a convenient O/N motel.

I really enjoyed our stay here. After a terrible experience at the Quality Inn in Mammoth we decided to pay half the price and book a hotel in Bishop. The room was nice, updated, comfy bed, good water pressure and spacious. We were on the second floor and didn't have any issues with noise (we were travelling during the holidays). The free breakfast was great. We stayed here and the La Quinta just down the road on our trip and I liked the BW room a little better due to extra space and updates. I will say the La Quinta Belgian waffles were delicious though, better than BW but BW had more breakfast options. The Jacuzzi was small and outside. We were only going to go in if the Jacuzzi water was HOT but it was warm and not worth the cold trek back to the hotel room. I definitely recommend staying here. It's a great option if you are looking for somewhere more affordable than Mammoth or need a place to stop on your road trip. Best food in town was Schat's Roadhouse and it's only a block away.

Great service, modern, clean rooms at a fair price. Breakfast was better than most that offer continental. Dog friendly and great location to all the walkable shops and stores. What else can you ask for?

In 2014, we stayed at this place and was disgusted with the internet. They should not advertise "High Speed Internet" rather "Not Working Internet". December 2015, we went back again, the internet was not fixed. it was like 12 months after and nothing was done. Another note, room carpet was super disgusting. Recommend steam clean their carpet regularly. Breakfast was bad too since nothing on the menu was good for health.

Stayed here on a New Years ski trip to Mammoth. We often stay in Bishop as do many others to avoid the $$$ of Mammoth. We went to Keough Hot Springs each night after skiing and the town offers fair food selection and value. The staff here was great and I will stay again. Best Western Bishop is OK by us.

Front desk friendly and welcoming. Room was clean. Heater very noisy. Room did not lock easily. Worst part was breakfast experience. Loud broadcast of news with explicit details of crimes. Staff member would not change the channel when I explained it was not appropriate for my children, and the one other customer present also did not care to watch it. This TV problem has existed at other Best Westerns as well. I hope they change this policy if they want to continue to serve families with children. I am ready to switch to another hotel chain.
