Good hotel for a short stay our TV did not work in the room, but the staff was really great and helpful and gave me a discount on my room rate. It would've been nice to have received some extra reward points for the inconvenience as well. The breakfast was as expected, kind of a mix of a little bit of everything and very good.
We checked in around 10pm and were given room 118, which is right around the corner from the main lobby. The room was clean, the tv and ac was on in expectation of our arrival. I won't say a lot here because I have mixed feelings about this stay. I just don't understand stains or spots on towels or bedding that aren't discarded and are easily visible. The sink backed up quickly and never completely drained out. Some furniture pieces starting to show age but no loud noises could be heard in the room and the bed was comfortable. One other thing- a shirtless man smoking a cigarette hiding in the shadows at the back entrance was concerning. Location is great with close access to interstate and lots of dining options.
Noise in the room from AC or highway (when AC was not running) was horrible. No good rest at this hotel. There was a chemical odor in the room. Like they over used something to hide mess Overall hotel was needed update. It was getting a little spotty. Elevator missing a button. Sink was slow draining. Not what I expected from a BW+
We got in late and went to bed late and were promised a late check out of 12. At 8 the room next door woke us yelling and laughing. Told the front desk and mamie told us to leave. She was super rude and refused any refund or to move us to another room. Mamie treated me horribly. I felt unsafe being forced to leave and drive on little sleep. The way I was treated when I did nothing wrong was inhumane
Great trip. Very safe. Very clean. I loved the feel of this hotel. The people at the desk were very friendly.
Great internet, kind staff even though they did not attempt to correct an issue. The rooms were okay, this is a 2-star property which seems quite 3+ star via the website. There were giant cockroaches in the room and in the bathroom. Quite disappointing.
Request a room on the west side of the hotel or bring earplugs. We were directly next to the highway and it was almost impossible for me to sleep the first night there. The square pillows are awful but I think this is a chain replacement and not this particular hotel, we will be bringing our own from here out. Breakfast did not have a lot of variety. it was biscuits, gravy, eggs and 1 type of meat. Not what we are used to from Best Western's.
Our stay was wonderful, everyday we received housekeeping. Our room was nice and spacious. Breakfast has a variety of foods and is kept stocked even though they were busy. The only negative thing I can say is the pillows are small.
My husband and I decided to stop for the night after a 13 hour drive. To our disappointment absolutely rude customer service… The dude behind the counter had to the worst attitude when I told him we had a military service animal for my husband. He told my husband and I the hotel doesn't allowed to have “pets” we repeatedly to tell him she is not a “pet” she is a certified military service animal. He said we needed to pay an outrageous “security deposit”. He kept getting an attitude and then told us to leave after I paid for the night and said I'll pay the deposit. My charge was not refunded and every hotel near is booked. Extremely disappointed.
Waiting 45 mins to check in while the front desk guy was asleep, it's not a joke. I was traveling of a 4 hour trip. I got there at 9pm and checked in at 9:50pm terrible experienced
I had a great stay at the hotel. Ms. Mamie, the morning clerk, was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, a young Hispanic lady at the front desk was rude. Breakfast was hot, fresh and yummy. Overall, I still enjoyed my visit and would return.!
Had a fantastic stay at Best Western! The elderly lady at check-in was delightful and also guy at the front desk was incredibly nice and attentive, going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Their exceptional service made a big difference. However, the young Hispanic lady at check-out was a bit rude. Highly recommend this hotel!
We travel with our teenage grandkids, one boy and one girl. We need more than 2 beds. This Best Western offers a family suite with 2 queen beds and one twin bed. It was perfect for us. Nice, clean and a good breakfast.
After our truck was broken into at the Memphis location. Best Western Gen X on Madison we cancelled our reservation and came to this hotel. Property and staff were very nice and understanding. Breakfast looked like it was going to be a good one but we had to leave early so we were not able to enjoy it. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. It was nothing compared to where we stayed the first night. It was 10 times better!! If we come back to this area we will definitely stay here again.
I chose this motel based on Trip Advisor Reviews, and it is a good motel. It is tricky to get to. The room we had was a bit small, though the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small, and the sink is located in the room with little space to place toiletries. Highway noise is noticeable since the motel is adjacent to the Interstate. The room rate was high for what the room provided.
This hotel was average. The location is good near the mall. We were traveling as a family of four. The room itself is dated and could use some upgrades. There were obviously patches on the walls from water And other damage, But they had been repaired. The beds are older, but overall comfortable. The refrigerator in our room did not work. They offered to move us rooms, but we're unable to replace the one in our room. I got stuck in the elevator once. The elevators in general felt very clunky. I was able to get the elevator to navigate to another floor so I can get off. Breakfast was average for this class of hotel. It did include meat, Biscuits and gravy, yogurt, cereal. Staff was very courteous and attentive, but seem to be understaffed. At one point of staff member said that he was the only one there, and that was why he could not help us. Another time I saw a basket of trash from a guest left in the hallway for over 12 hours. Overall, we slept well. Would stay again in a pinch, but would not be my first pick.
I just went there with my service dog for ptsd from the military, they didn't ask one question. They made check in easy and the place was constantly being cleaned: good area with some good food around. The TVs had satellite and the ac and heat was accessible easily.
Hotel smelled like weed when you came through the front door. Hallway carpets needed vacuumed. Quite a bit of small trash up and down the hallways. Room was dirty. I didn't realize how bad until this morning. Food crumbs on dresser with tv. Soap dish had left over soap scum from previos occupant. Turned on water spiquit and black crud came out the faucet.
Don't use room 214. The freeway noise is crazy loud. Toilet and faucet needs plumber. Stayed 2 days, both days ran out of breakfast items and no staff to replenish was around. Hotel in good location for restaurants and large shopping mall. Felt safe. Pillows were like round balls. We chose it since it was convenient to Graceland and I an rewards member. Wouldn't stay there again.
I was with a senior bus tour (47 people) to memphis and stayed here Nov 6-10 2023,it was great, clean inside and out, We Enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend. Good breakfast each morning. There is plenty of seating in the lobby area to gather with friends and discuss our days activities.
Housekeeping staff went above and beyond. They switched up breakfast daily and it was hot breakfast. There was a very nice sitting are to watch TV. My room had a private living room. I got all this for $100.
Charged for 2 nights we did not stay! On June 26 our family arrived at the hotel. Although they had accepted our reservation through Expedia that day, they had no electric power. It was 100 degrees in Memphis. The front desk clerks told us we could cancel, but had to do it through Expedia. The electric outage meant there were no lights, no tv, no elevators, no air conditioning. I called Expedia, but they were unable to reach the hotel. Now the hotel has refused to refund my money. I would suggest that any hotel that thinks it is ok to charge 2 nights for a cancelation when the hotel has no electricity is unethical or perhaps that is their normal standard for services. Be very careful about booking this hotel. You might arrive as we did to a hotel with no power and be charged for a nonexistent stay. Find another hotel. Find another booking agency.
Since the front desk wont tell you, I will. These things wil help you if you do decide to stay. All the a/c units are close to ceiling and you have to have a remote control to operate. Check the remote when you enter to make sure it is working. I unpacked everything and then found out so had to be moved to another room. A/c was off in this room and if you know how hot it was in July and August of 2023, then you know how uncomfortable it was just entering. It did eventually cool down, cant believe they turned off in that weather. Just because they have outlets on side of bed, do not assume they will work, ours only worked on one side of the bed. If you want the bed made and clean towels and area picked up, you have to put out the sign that also has do not disturb on one side. They dont tell you that on the other side it says make up the room. Someone could just as easily go down a hall and flip all these so its far from a perfect system.
No internet for days I was there, coffee is 1/2 cup at a time, food bland and tasted bad, lamp in entryway had a block on it holding it up, ceiling plaster all over the room floor, landscaping full of dead bushes and trash. Bathroom door was filthy. No services in three days I was there.
We stayed as a family of 4. The extra bed was perfect for giving each teenager their own space. The room had been updated but I hope they didn't pay much for it because the job done was pretty bad. The air conditioner was loud and the air in the room had a funk smell. The TV didn't work and when I spoke to front desk they could do nothing since it was late and no one was on duty but the one clerk. The air conditioner did not reach to the twin bed area so that room remained muggy and warm. The breakfast was decent with plenty of offerings. Nice coffee machine that made cappuccino, espresso as well as flavored coffees. The parking lot was pretty full when we arrived at 10pm and big trucks were parked everywhere and there were a ton of signs stating not responsible for auto break ins…. Gave it all a sketchy feel and increased the ick factor on the whole place. Can't say I recommend this place and will stick to other hotel chains with suites.
Out dated window units rooms smelled like meldew and halls smelled even worse and when the staff was informed they acted as if they knew and didn't care we stayed with a baseball team and one of my players family had to get a new room because they had very large roaches/bugs and another one of my player's family checked out after one night because of the smell
Good location and great staff. I picked this hotel specifically because they had a 2 queen 1 single suite. First time I have seen a room offering like this and it was really nice for our older teen to have a semi-private space for them. The hotel is nice, it was very busy while we were in town. The breakfast was hot and had a lot of options. I mean a lot. The only complaint I had which was trivial is that we only had 2 bath towels in the room with 4 on the reservation.
On June 25th we chose to book a hotel because our power was out due to a storm. We booked a room at the Best Western Galleria. When we arrived at the hotel at 11:30 pm and the hotel had no power. We tried to call, but the hotel's phone was not working. We chose not to go inside the hotel because it did not have power (the whole block was out). The next day I tried to call and ask for a refund and the phones at the hotel were still not working (indicating the hotel still did not have power). When I finally called the hotel they refused to give me a refund because I did not come into the building (a building without power) to cancel my reservation).
The hotel is located right by freeway and next to restaurants. It's a 20 minute drive to Memphis where the main tourist attractions are at. The rooms are good and spacious. Breakfast has variety to choose from. The only thing is the restroom. Our toilet wobbled a bit. Other than that great hotel.
If your used to great hotels this one isn't for you. The hotel is okay if you don't care about a moldy smell, pealing and cracked up plaster on the ceiling, old carpet and the water does get hot enough. If you don't mind any of that then this is the place for you. Great staff, very friendly and professional.
Room was not cleaned prior to 11pm arrival. Finally after 40 minutes and being told they were sold out and were not capable of cleaning the room. I asked if they had a partner arrangement with another area hotel and was told no. Finally after 30 minutes, they found a lesser room.
Made a last minute reservation to deal with quick business in town. Bed was comfortable and clean. Room was cleanish but dingy. Lots of things broken (lamps don't work, holes punched in walls) or cheaply repaired. Smeared things on bathroom walls and hair in the floor. Convenient location and breakfast. Wouldn't stay again.
Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Room was in horrible shape (broken sink cabinet; badly chipped and damaged bathroom door; room window so fogged/discolored one could not see out; horrible HVAC system (wall mounted and extremely noisy). Breakfast (if one could call it that) was uninviting. Poor layout; milk stored where no one could find it; no batter for waffle maker; eggs I would not even try. Very unfriendly staff at check in.
We checked in to find dried urine on the toilet seat, handprints on the headboard, and filthy bathroom mirrors. We talked with the front desk about the toilet, but he couldn't do anything because the cleaning service was gone for the day and he was all alone. My wife has a handicap and needed to use the restroom, so I ended up cleaning the toilet myself with Clorox wipes. The real issue, though, is how the management handled the situation. Even though we had to wash our own toilet because the cleaning service failed to remove the former guest's urine, we received nothing in return. There was no formal apology. All they did was say that no refunds or discounts would be offered because we had booked the hotel on a discounted group rate (we were at a conference). Apparently, regardless of how terrible your experience, if you don't pay enough, they won't do anything for you. They should have at least paid me for the service I rendered them by cleaning their toilet, headboard, and mirrors. This is unacceptable behavior for someone in the service industry. I have been in customer service for 20 years, and none of the businesses in any of the industries for which I've worked would keep management like that employed.
Me and my husband stayed here as soon as we arrived on the property we noticed how well kept it was. The service at the front desk exceeded our expectations the front desk clerk was friendly and efficient. We got to the room and it was very clean. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area!
Slightly older hotel that has been renovated. Staff were friendly, breakfast was fine, room was clean. Pillows were tiny square ones. Of concern to a family staying there was the strong smell of pot being used on the second floor - not that the staff can do much about that.
The hotel is old, run down, with broken furniture. They also have these SMALL square pillows...very odd, like throw pillows! I could deal with all that for the price however there was no hot water AND no water pressure! I will not stay here again!
The interstate traffic noise is unbearable.. The parking lot light shine into the rooms and the curtains will not close. The pillows are extra thick and square so you will need to climb on top of them the use Our hostess was super but the location is too close to the roads, Jake-Brakes all night. Now I realize why there are ear plugs in the .convenience store... you'll need them.
Jack was kind and helpful. He always greeted us with a smile and a positive attitude. The room was decent, breakfast was good, and the staff was pleasant. At breakfast the juice machine has an option that I'd never seen before: Orange Passion Fruit Guava Cocktail, my new favorite.
Date of our stay was 06/24/22. The good. The room was clean, beds comfortable and it was conveniently located near the interstate and the restaurant where we wanted to have dinner. It was right next to the highway but the room was still very quiet. The bad. The room smelled of cigarette smoke and the bed linens had a musty smell. There are no USB ports so bring your plug in chargers. The link sausage, scrambled eggs and coffee were not good. Sausage is soy based, eggs are from a powder and coffee was below average. Stick with the waffles, oatmeal, cereals, fruit, juices and bread. Do not recommend and would not stay again.
First, the room smells musty as if it's overrun with mildew. Black mold is on the walls and ceiling in the bathroom. The air conditioner does not work properly and the smell of mold is coming from the air conditioner. I booked this hotel based off of previous experience with Best Western. Booked on hotels.com for two nights. I was unable to cancel the second night since I booked online and did not cancel the entire stay before a certain time. There are areas that were painted to cover up mold. This is unacceptable. I will not stay in another Best Western. Corporate will be notified of these anomalies. I will not book a hotel online again in the future. Once you book you are locked in and will not be refunded if you choose not to stay the entire booking. You will be out money if you book for one night or even more than one night. The bathroom was also not clean to any reasonable standard. Dead gnats on the ceiling, hair shavings on the shower. Toilet kept running. The furniture retains the moisture in the room, stains on the desk chair. It's not fit to sleep in.
Ceiling paint/material was falling due to mold/mildew issues. The room smelled of mold and mildew. The hotel hallways and reception area smelled of smoke/mildew trying to be covered up by chemicals. Management refused to reimburse for stay…still waiting on corporate to fulfill reimbursement. There are much better options in the area. Don't get suckered in my the lower cost on this property!
Awoke at 3 am to find roachs crawling all over walls. Reported to front desk. Then went to eat breakfast after shower and packing to get out of there and the coffee was cold and only brought out very limited amount of anything at one time.
Will NEVER stay at a BEST WESTERN AGAIN! Our A/C went out in our room and we contacted the front desk. The Desk Clerk said they would call us back in five minutes and never did. After an hour, we went to the front desk and they said the Manager would be coming in and would talk to us. We went to dinner. When we came back, the Manager was talking with the police in the lobby because two cars were stolen last night. He can to talk to us and he asked what the problem was? WHAT?????? The A/C is broken! He asked is the room get hot? WHAT??????? I am so aggravated!!!!!! He did not even offer to have a a/c person come check the unit!!!!!!!! This is the WORST experience i have ever had with a manager!!!!!! This is unacceptable!!!!! We have no other place to go so now we have to suffer through tonight!!!!! We learned that 5 other room are having issues with the A/C's also!!!!! How does a large organization like Best Western run a business like this???????? And then say i have another room available but the a/c is broken in that one also!!!!!! DUH ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!!!! This is the worst hotel EVER!!!!! I WLL NEVER RECOMENT BEST WESTERN AGAIN! ESPICALY THIS LOCATION!!! BEST WESTERN NEEDS TO REVIEW THIS HOTELS PRACTICES!!!! We asked why someone, like maintenance or and a/c guy look at the unit? We Don't have maintenance!!!!!! sorry but i am very P$%#ed off!!!!!!
We stayed in a king suite and it was large, clean, and the beds comfortable. Best Western Plus is normally a step up from just Best Western; however, it costs more as well. I didn't realize there wasn't a pool and not sure how I missed that detail as swimming is part of a hotel experience for me. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay and kept busy going to the Pyramid, Memphis Botanic Gardens, and Woodruff-Fontaine House Museum so we ended up not missing the pool that much.
Friendly staff, but the hotel could use some needed repairs. Stains on the ceiling, smelled on the 5th floor like I don't know what. Probably the carpet. The room was just your ordinary hotel room. Nothing fancy. Bed was comfortable enough, not the best I've slept in but certainly not the worst either. The breakfast was your typical hot plate type breakfast. Like I said, this stay was not exactly bad, but not exactly great either
The room were clean the staff was pleasant! However, the beds are horrible! No cushion at all! My body is still sore! The breakfast was decent! Nothing exciting at this hotel! However the other guests in the hotel were loud on the floors a lot of screaming!
We were greeted and taken care of by a very nice lady. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and consisted of many hot items, eggs, sausage, biscuit, gravy, waffles as well as cereals, yogurt and sweets. We had a good nights sleep and I would certainly stay again.
This hotel needs upgrading and repairing. The staff is very nice. The hallway and elevator smelled of Marijuana. The bed was comfortable but the air conditioner was not the best. The breakfast was pretty good.
This was a very last minute reservation as my family and I were on the road traveling halfway across the country in the middle of the night. When we arrived the front desk associate was not very friendly or helpful. He basically checked me in, gave my a room key and sent me on my way. Didn't bother giving me any information about check-out times, breakfast times or location, how to access the Wi-Fi, or what part of the building my room was located in. He gave me no information at all. The room was okay…not the cleanest. It had some dirty furniture, holes and stains on the wall, and what looked like mold right above the air conditioning unit. The unit itself was also SUPER loud so it was difficult to get restful sleep. Breakfast the next morning was great and the highlight of this stay, which is the only reason I didn't score this hotel lower. Overall, we just needed a place to shower and sleep for the night so this hotel was sufficient, but I've definitely stayed in a lot better places for the price I paid.
Clean friendly affordable we stay here every time we're in memphis everything is clean staff is friendly and it's in our price range recommend this place for your stay in Memphis don't hesitate to stay here
Arrived at 4:30 for reservation and my room was not available. I was given another room with no solution by the checkin guy but to buy another room. Cost from planned $203 to $286. I cancelled second room. I was not notified my scheduled room would be given away. I came down later and the night clerk was helpful. Wake up Sunday multiple people cars have been broken into and people were lined up to get vehicles vacuumed of glass. I will not stay at this location again. Terrible experience. Room was clean and I smelled weed in hallway.
Check in was easy. Went to the room and first thing noticed was the smell, very musty smell. Room was quite large, bathroom is small, no shampoo or rinse. Close to the freeway for easy access when we leave. It does have a microwave and fridge.
We were in room #324. The room had black mold, the TV in our living room did not work, the phone was unplugged because it didn't work, the toilet wouldn't flush, and the lights did not work off the switch. For the (176.54) we spent on the room we were not happy with the lack of care taken in our room. As Diamond members, we are seriously considering changing hotel chains since we've seen the care for almost every Best Western goes downhill.
One of the hotels owners named Jack, Was very rude and unprofessional! I have been staying at this property for almost 2 years. After I paid for 2 rooms for 2 nights to be treated like I am a bother and disrespected will NOT be tolerated! ! I WILL NEVER STAY AT THAT PROERTY AGAIN! PATRICK, BRENDA AND MAMIE ARE THE BEST FRONT DESK AGENTS THIS HOTEL HAS AND THEY NEED TO BE HONORED TO WORK for SUCH IDIOTS!
Very outdated, small room. AC/heat did not heat room at all. Noisy due to constant truck traffic on highway. Bathroom dirty. Room had a peculiar odor - smelt like carpet cleaner and some unknown odor. Breakfast minimal.
Not only is this hotel conveniently located, it has an amazing, caring staff and comfortable rooms. Staff went above necessary means to help make our stay comfortable and making sure we had extra towels or wash cloths needed.
Ms. Sherri at the front desk was the sweetest and friendliest person you have ever met. Every motel/hotel needs a Ms. Sherri. She made our stay the best. Thank you Ms. Sherri. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. My family will never stay at another hotel when in town, we will always stay at this hotel as long as you have someone as sweet as Ms. Sherri.
Great location, nice room selection, very nice common areas, basically quiet, clean, friendly helpful staff. Nice amenities in the room. Good space for the price. We were very comfortable. We were there for a family member's funeral having driven 600 miles to get there.
My family and I stopped in at this hotel off of I-40 while traveling through for Christmas. We selected a king room with a sofa bed for the kids. Room was very clean and comfortable, would definitely stay again!
Good location, nice lobby, OK continental breakfast, SMALL rooms, and mostly clean. TV remote didn't work, reported this to the front desk, said they would fix it, but no one ever fixed it. Specks of dirt all over the ceiling or maybe mold. Lobby, elevator, and hallway smelled of marijuana almost every time we went in or out of our room. It was not worth the money we paid per night.
The room had heavy musty smell when opening the door. This had been a problem several years ago on another stay. We were assured on the previous trip, the issue would be taken care of with remodel of the hotel. It wasn't: this time there was visible mold on the ceiling outside of the bathroom. We love Best Western Hotels as a chain, but after three stays with musty rooms over the past five years, this will be our last. The one bright spot of this stay is the breakfast room staff and front desk folks were quite nice and provided great service.
The breakfast room did not have coffee when we went for the Complimentary Breakfast. You should never run out of Coffee, a mainstay for breakfast. Other than that, Best Western Hotels are one of the best for the price to us.
Best western hotel was very accommodating with fantastic staff. I haughty recommend to all that come! it's a great family/children friendly hotel and our experience has been wonderful. Ibrahim- provide our huge group with excellent service!
My group and I were welcomed kindly by customer service. We needed specific accommodations and Ibrahim was very kind and helpful in assisting. Being such a big group, the lobby was a perfect space for all of us.
The guest services is phenomenal and gave amazing hospitality. Checking in was a breeze and greatly went above and beyond to make our trip great. I would highly recommend staying here if ever in Memphis Tennessee!
The service at this inn was amazing and they really treat their guests well. They made this stay very enjoyable and made sure we were very comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the Memphis area and if you do, you will be guaranteed to have a great stay.
The service at the best western is phenomenal. We were greeted with smiling faces and open arms. They catered to our needs-and they were very kind while doing so. The workers made our experience absolutely wonderful and I would love to comeback again. Ibrahim went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable.
Some may consider the rooms small but you are not cramped, room is clean and the staff is friendly. It has everything you need in a small package. Room rates were fair 97 a night and in (Oct 21) and breakfast is served from 7 to 9. They have a decent amount of parking. This hotel is not in a jank area either.
I had a wonderful stay and would recommend this hotel. The staff is helpful and knows a lot about the area. The hotel is clean and I can see they have a great team in place because if you have any issues someone will help you right away.
We reserved two rooms. One of the rooms had a musty smell so we had to change that one. The second room was unmade, so we had to get a different room. That made them 0-2 on our first room assignments. This used to be a good hotel. The staff were very friendly
Stay away, the hotel staff, and workforce are higher than eagles and the elevator is only one. The overused single elevator had an odor that smelled like skunks lived within. Stay away unless you want todays youth to show you how tough they are with their drug dealing.
The lobby and property were pretty nice. We had a room on the fourth floor that smelled like old smoke. The room really needs to be upgraded. The staff and breakfast were pretty good and we got a great deal.
We stay here several times a year and our last visit was the first time we got a sub-par room. Everything about the hotel was good except our room. Our room had an odor and the air-conditioner was in its last days. The room was clean. The staff cleans the rooms after 5 nights stay.
As a platinum member, my husband has stayed at many BW hotels over the years. On a recent trip we needed a one night stay for our trip home. This hotel seemed to fit our needs as it was right on the Interstate and we could continue our trip home easily. Check-in was fine but the bad experience began when we entered the room. There was a terrible, unidentifiable smell which was overwhelming, but we hoped it would dissipate after turning the air conditioner on. It didn't. And the air conditioner was up at the ceiling requiring one to climb on a chair to adjust the controls. We only discovered a hand held control that probably was for the air conditioner the next morning. It would have been nice to know about this before I climbed up in a chair twice to adjust the controls! The whole feel of the room was that it needed a deep cleaning. Surfaces were tacky to the touch. It just felt dirty. We had a king room and requested a quiet area, but all the king rooms were on the side with the loudest traffic. The desk help apologized but it was still a loud night. Our sleep was disturbed at 12:58 am by an extremely loud noise in the hallway, sort of like an alarm but it wasn't coming from our room. It only lasted a few seconds but it was enough to wake us from a deep sleep and make it hard to resume that sleep. We got up early and left the hotel by 5:30 after a poor night's sleep. No one was covering the desk when we left so we couldn't let anyone know about our experience. Our room was paid for by accumulated BW points but I cannot believe people would actually have to pay $154.00 for this old unclean room. We will not be staying here again.
This is the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel. There were problems with the room. Although I reported the problems, nothing was done. The facility was clean, but that is about the only positive thing I can say.
The location of the hotel is wonderful, within a short driving distance of many stores, restaurants and a mall. The check in staff were wonderful, however, the hotel is very outdated. Additionally, there was a very strong smell of marijuana in the elevator, the hallways and the room. We would not stay here again.
Is too expensive, it is outdated. People should be able to manage the air conditioning. It was too cold and then when it shot down the room got to hot. Although, in general, the personnel was very attentive.
This is not a hotel for families! Dark hallways that reek of marijuana & cigarettes, mold and water damage on many surfaces in the room, ants, loud noisy ineffective wall air conditioning unit that never shuts off. We didn't shower because the bathroom was so gross. These are not housekeeping issues. I think the staff does the best they can to keep the property clean but the entire building needs an overhaul. Front desk was very nice about moving us to another room, but we found out they're all the same. It's disgusting. We were exhausted, so we napped in our clothes and checked back out at 3 am. Do not stay here.
My wife and I were traveling from Tennessee to Oklahoma. Based on the reviews, we selected Best Western Galleria Inn. Finding the hotel was easy. It was easy to reach from I-40! The hotel is in an excellent location for visitors traveling through Memphis. There are shopping areas around this hotel. Check-in went smoothly. The hotel lobby was clean and staffed. We stayed in Room 108, which was a standard studio with king-sized bed and one bathroom. The room was very quiet. The hotel amenities included complimentary Wi-Fi access. There's a complimentary breakfast in the morning. Despite of Covid-19 requirements, we were provided a hot breakfast including eggs and sausages. Hotel staff provided our meal. Employees were friendly and courteous. Overall, the hotel experience was good. It's a great overnight stop with incredible value. Don't expect more for the valued price. Yet, the hotel staff is a lot better than some 4-5-star hotels. I would recommend this location due to its excellent location, price, and cleanliness.
I called and informed the front desk that we would be checked in late on 5/14 and was told it's ok. When we arrived around 11 pm. There was no one at the front desk and another patron was waiting to be check in too. After 10 min, a young lady came from the back to the front desk to check us in. I booked two rooms for my family and my friends. The rooms were 219 and 319, both facing the highways and near the A/C system. It was an unbelievable noising night that we all were tired and got terrible sleep. The room 319 also has a leaking faucet that dripping all night made the situation worst. The hotel overall is outdated and needs a lot of upgrades. Enhance the sound proof for the rooms near highways is a must to do. I shared my concerns with your front desk lady on 5/15 when we were about to check out. Unbelievably, she brushed off our concerns and stated that some people like to sleep near highways.... She had bad customer skills and needs training or should be fired if I am her manager. Will never return to this hotel and may be Best Western line hotels. Sadly, one rotten apple spoils the whole barrel.
arrived at midnight, after fooling with my ac for an hour, i feel asleep. i woke up soaked in sweat. ialerted the staff that my room ac was broken last night. i takes alot to make me mad, but after sending me to rooms where the keys did not work 3 times i decoded to take my business elsewhere i canceled my second night reservation and had a lovely stay at Microtel down the road, i even stayed an extra night.
Most of My Family's Rooms were GIVEN AWAY, Even Tho They Were RESERVED. The Room Furniture (Chairs; Cushions) were Very Soiled & Torn. Carpet Reeks of Mildew. Mold on Bathroom Ceiling. Ran Out of Food
The images are beautiful & the lobby is nice. My room wasn't ready until 9pm. Inside the room had odor, pee ring toilet & black rings in tub. Carpet had socks jet black. Air system is bad, half of room gets cool but the other bed under air is hot because air goes to ceiling. On the weekend this night I stayed customers were outside at front entrance smoking weed & rolling up!!! I had to buy chemicals to scrub & sanitize the room. Everything about the room seemed like it was a last minute repair room. I like the Best Westerns but this hotel don't deserve to use Galleria location it should say Lamar Location. If you are from out of town google Lamar St in Memphis then you'll know why. I had my kids & sister for a family get away but felt like it was nightmare from hell event. I do think some rooms might be cleaner than mines but the odor, filth & night drug activities at front entrance was too much for me!!! The late night clerk was also high so maybe the outdoor weed heads were her friends. THIS WAS THE WORST HOTEL TO ME FOR LOCATION & MONEY!!!!
Would totally recommend. Wonderful staff and they were very helpful with everything. They are well informed of the city and have wonderful recommendations. Good breakfast. It was limited due to covid but it's understandable. One of the only hotels in this area who is serving breakfast and I enjoyed it.
service at room. Noise all night long from the elevator. Elevator stop working. Big disturbance from the elevator. Telephone not working. Could not call for wake up. Did not warn about room service. Needed a telephone to call the front desk for emergency and did not have it.
My room was Emaculant! The shower was Amazing! Didn't get the room that I booked But, that was ok. Loved the food choices in the area. The front desk staff was helpful attentive. Definitely coming back. Keep up the great work!
This hotel is really outdated compared to hotels in very close proximity. The bathroom is small, they messed up our room. It took 30 min for the lady at the desk to ring me up for 4 sodas. Not sure where the gap is here but it does not live up to the Best Western standard that I'm familiar with.
I must say I truly dislike writing reviews but when you find something absolutely great or awful you have to share. The lobby was beautiful but the luxury starts and ends there. When you reach your floor its very dim like a scary scene from a horror movie and there's a slight not so fresh odor. Also the hotel bedding has changed so the room doesn't have the charm as it does in the pictures. But none of those things compare to the dread I felt when I woke early excited about hot breakfast but saw MULTIPLE BED BUGS. Another reviewer said there were bed bugs and the hotel wrote back saying none were found after inspection. I guess they would have to say that to keep people coming because no one wants to take bed bugs home. So, after a one night stay (which was supposed to be 5) I left and asked for a refund in which they did not give me due to their inspection first protocol so I had to take out a loan to get a room at a new hotel. There are much better hotels in thats same area.
I booked my Holiday Guests into the Best Western Plus Galleria. The Booking.com rate was attractive. Desk Clerk Patrick was courteous & helpful. Lobby was clean & quiet. Breakfast area was currently mandated closed. Room on 3rd Floor was spacious & nicely furnished. However, hallway & room were smoky. The HVAC was very distracting ~ loud & kicked on & off every few minutes, making it impossible to leave the TV at a consistent volume. That, & the small square pillows (website photos show normal-size rectangular pillows) made it an unrestful night. When I picked up my Guests, I noticed a Housekeeper in the Hallway without a Mask. I won't book this one again.
I picked this hotel because the Hotel Policy (on Best Western Website and Hotel Door) said that guests and staff were required to wear masks in the common area during the Covid 19 pandemic. Not a single guest was wearing a mask. Only one staff member, a very kind and helpful woman at the desk when I checked in, was wearing one. The elevator smelled like cheap dank marijuana, and so did the entire 5th floor. It was about 90 degrees in my room, and the heater was stuck on. The shower head was also broken. There was only one towel in the bathroom (clearly the room had not been refreshed). Do yourself a favor, do not stay here. The management is terrible.
Chose to stay here because of the safety and cleaning standards they list as policy, but I don't feel safe coming back. There was a group of people, not wearing masks, sitting right next to the check in desk so you had to be near them to check in. Staff observed this, but did not ask them to follow the stated hotel regulations. I also saw staff members wearing their masks around their neck or not over their nose. This hotel doesn't seem to follow their advertised policy, so I wonder about whether the rooms have been properly sanitized as well. Very disappointed.
My Fiance and I have never been to Memphis. This was the best visit we've had at BW. We were helped by Patrick. He was amazing! He was able to get us a great room. Will definitely come back to visit again!
We stayed one night. The hotel is in a great spot for dining and shopping. My complaint is with the noise of other guests, made a complaint to the front desk and the noise stopped. Later that night it started again with music and other guest complained about the music also. The bed pillows are uncomfortable so I had an average night sleep. Not sure how to rate this stay since my real complaint was not directly against the hotel itself.
Patrick is the definition of Southern Hospitality. Great attitude very friendly and checks me in quickly. He was trained by Mami who is the best. They make staying at this hotel enjoyable I feel like Norm from cheers when I walk in the door lol
I enjoyed the family room which consisted of 2 double beds and a twin bed. We traveled during the pandemic so therefore breakfast was not serve . This particular facility was in walking distance to Walmart and there were several eateries available as well as the shopping mall. The only complaint is we were unable to close the curtains completely and the outside light was so bright at 230 am we thought it was around 8 or 9 am. This Best Western was a great choice.
We arrived as a very late check in on an obviously busy night. There was a small issue with our room and reservation that had not been made through the front desk. This tiny thing was completely take care of by the staff at this property, and their care and concern for my family during our stay was simply amazing. The staff at this location make this the go to place in Memphis if I am every traveling back through. I want to personally thank Mr. Trevor, who walked with me to my room late that night, and helped us with our needs. This man represents you all VERY well, Best Western; I can not say enough good about him. He is a shining star for you at this property. In the morning, General manager Radha and Ms. Mamie and Ms Jackie continued to reflect a caring and sincere attitude of kindness and patience with me. Best Western should hire this staff to train all their on-sight personnel. I had t the sense they care because of their character and who they are, not because they are paid to care. That actually may be something that can not be taught, but something rare that any company should recognize as a rarity and a highly valued find in today's marketplace. Kudos to you all! I hope I was able to spell all the names correctly. Forgive me if not. I will try to contact the company as well to pass along my feedback.
Give PATRICK a raise!!!!! He was absolutely amazing. You guys saved our opinion of Memphis. Extended Stay got it totally wrong. What a dump! You all are top notch! Loved our stay. Thank you for everything!
Everything is always great we stay here a lot to get away and never have trouble. We love the staff and the location is ideal. The rooms are always clean as well. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating
Every time we go up north we stay here because it always well kept, rooms are great, everything you need is right there close by. From places to eat, gas, car part stores if needed are all close by or in walking distance
Great location. King suite was awesome. Very comfortable bed and heard no outside or other noise from other rooms. Many quality restaurants near by and a service station/convenience located near by. A perfect location near Memphis.
We decided to stay here on our way back home from spring break. The lobby was beautiful and inviting as well as smelling wonderful! The young lady that checked us in was pleasant and very sweet. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We loved the the air conditioning worked really well and was adjustable since we like sleeping cooler at night. We asked for extra pillows and got them. Breakfast the next morning was awesome! Beautifully layed out, very big with great selections of food that was at the perfect temperatures. This breakfast has to be THE BEST of any hotels we've stayed at. Cuddos to the staff that was responsible for the breakfast! Checking out the ladies at the front desk was very sweet, engaging and professional looking. They took the time to talk to just chitchat with me because I wanted to say thank you and how much we loved the breakfast and our stay! This Best Western is hands down the best we've stayed in.
Recently remodeled hotel. Great location with all types of restaurants within a mile, if you can't find anything to eat around there, don't eat. Within a half hour drive to Downtown Memphis which was easy to get to. Also, many things to do in the local area. We also had to drop a freind off at the airport, and it was within a half hour to there also. Close enough where plains were not flying over our heads every minute.
Check in was quick. Parking convenient. Lobby looked nice. Room was small, but appeared clean. Could not get tv, air conditioner, or one of the treadmills to work in exercise room. Exhaust fan in bathroom is inadequate. Air conditioner in room spews out moldy-smelling air. I would never stay here again.
After reading good reviews, I was surprised to find the hotel so poorly managed. There was only one person on duty in the whole hotel that I could see, and we arrived around 6:30 pm. Our room was musty smelling and the AC unit was unplugged. We found out why though—-the control panel was broken, so it was stuck on 68 degrees. After getting cold, we just unplugged it. We would have asked about changing rooms, but we were putting small children to bed. Besides, every time I tried going to reception to talk with her, there were a line of people checking in. I felt like she was doing the best she could. We needed another towel, and I asked for one but ended up getting it myself from the laundry. I thought that would be quicker. There were a couple other things that seemed overlooked. I thought Best Western had higher standards than this.
One of the best experiences I had. Wonderful staff and great hotel. The breakfast was on point with so many options and The hotel was super clean. I would totally stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to all my fellow friends, colleagues, and whomever asks me. There was an incident with another guest whose credit card did not go through and the employees were very professional and showed there concern even when the guest was being unreasonable.
My kids were attending a concert at the Fed Ex Forum. I chose this hotel because I wanted to shop in the area the next day. It is the perfect location for where I wanted to go. Clean, friendly staff, nice breakfast. We will stay again. This was also the first hotel I had stayed in with a suite with 2 queen beds and a single bed. This was perfect for my kids who do not like to share a bed. Everyone had their own bed. We will book this hotel again and that room type for sure. Excellent value for what we had.
Mamie is sooo sweet there was no need for sugar in my coffee. Every time I stay here she greets me with a smile and a joke. Texas Roadhouse and Hooters are in walking distance which is huge if you're out of hours to drive. If it's raining someone at the front desk will give you a ride! Jk lol
Everything about this Best Western was great. Really enjoyed the check in service, comfortable in the room, and the beds were comfortable. It's a convenience to restaurants, highway and even a Walmart. It's only 30 minutes from downtown Memphis but if you get caught in traffic it's a lot longer.
Screwed up my reservation date. Charged me as a no show. Lost the money for the two nights I had booked and for any future bookings. We are on a two way cross country trip and won't be using Best Western for the 50 or so hotel nights we will be using.
Arrived in Memphis early. Wanted to drop our stuff off before heading to the National Civil Rights Museum. Mamie found us a room and allowed us to check in an hour early. The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. The only drawback is the highway noise.
This is a nice property. Close to the highway and plenty of restaurants and other amenities. In spite of being located between a busy street and an interstate highway, the rooms are very quiet. And, although I wasn't riding my motorcycle this trip, I appreciate the upfront motorcycle parking they have. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best I have eaten anywhere.
I love this location, the 3 bed room option is great for us. The breakfast selection is larger than most and we'll attended. The beds are very comfortable and plenty of space in the room. The tv has more selection than most.
In town for a funeral. Room was comfortable for 5 people. The gal that checked us in could have been a bit friendlier, but seemed like she was having some technical issues, so no worries. Overall it was one of my better hotel experiences.
Our stay was fantastic. The rooms were clean, staff was excellant. Hotel was located was rite of the expressway by many restaurants. Area was very safe and secure. Was there for 3 days and the rooms were very clean upon each return. Will most definitely be staying here next year. Highly recommend.
Best Western Galleria, in Memphis, TN is a really nice place to stay. I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys a good night's rest and a good breakfast in the mornings. I am convinced they care about their customers.
My husband and I arrived for a get away to the Memphis area on New Years Day and stayed until Friday morning. This was our 2nd stay 2 years in a row at this facility. It is immaculately clean and very nicely appointed. The beds are very comfortable and the large TV in the king suite is a very nice plus! The breakfast is very nice - fresh scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy and ham or sausage with self make mini pancakes or waffles. Fresh fruit, cereal, fresh yogurt and fruit juices and coffee. The staff we encountered were pleasant and accommodating. The only issue we had was a leaky window due to lots of rain in 2 days - but things happen and didn't disrupt our stay. We altered the front desk upon our departure. We will stay here again when we come back to the area! It's in a convenient location close to many restaurants, shopping and gas stations. We highly recommend!
Came here after 3 nights in a bad hotel in Nashville. What a really really nice stay. Good price, good service, clean and excellent breakfast. Great easy access to Memphis and all its attractions 20 minutes away
I had a two night stay for leisure. When I got to my room, I found out the refrigerator was hot. I grabbed the phone to call the front desk and the handset wasn't plugged in. I replugged it and called the front desk. I reported the refrigerator not working. She asked if it was turned on. I looked for a temp control switch, she said pull it out and look for one. I pulled it out and it wasn't plugged in. Apparently the plug is behind this dresser. I wasn't going to get a hernia pulling this piece of furniture away from the way. I pulled the refrigerator out and set it on the desk and plugged it in. At the Continental breakfast, I think the pastries came from the Continental Congress, because the were hard and stale. No eggs. Not very good. The breakfast should be better, because I got high from the smell of weed in the hotel on my floor. Floor 3. I guess when you're high, you'll eat anything is BW's thought process.
3 night weekend getaway to Memphis TN. Really enjoyed my stay at this facility . Room was nice and clean . Very safe area, a little bit busy with traffic. The staff was so kind. Plenty places to shop.
Unrestful night spent with loud HVAC system that couldn't be adjusted, road noise, low water pressure and temperature. While the staff was polite, to reconcile the problems was well out of their ability to change. All they could do is apologize.
This hotel is outside Memphis and very close to the mayor attractions in Memphis and Graceland, for a family value with nice rapport, quality and price. The breakfast is excellent and even have a swimming pool.
I travelled to Memphis to care for a family member who had been hospitalized for an emergency. During my week stay, I found all the staff very helpful and polite. I felt safe as a single woman in this hotel. I received prompt help for the few business faxes I needed to send. My room and hotel was very clean and everything in the hotel ran like clock-work. I had a quiet room and did not hear any disturbances even though I was there over a weekend. Very good experience.
The property was not clean, the rooms or public spaces. Two nights we endured noisy parties. We called the front desk, yet the noise continued till the wee hours. Breakfast was not up to par. The location is a little off the beaten path, which we appreciated. The rooms overlook the river which was nice.
Really enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good....always enjoy having a nice full breakfast which was provided at this location. Will stay with them again when passing this way.
I chose BW Plus Inn & Suites because of the online pics and the reviews I read. I had ants in my room my entire two night stay and complained twice just to be given the option of moving next door...really! Then the morning of check out, I told to the Front Desk Manager (Tina Powell), & was immediately met with: "why didn't you say something?" I did the first night and was given the option to move next door which was unacceptable! Tina went on to tell me the "best she could do" was take 15% off my bill. That's laughable when I stood right next to a woman complaining of "not getting a good nights rest" after she already received a room upgrade & Tina gave her 50% off her entire bill & all I got was an option to move next door and Tina's "best offer" of 15% off my bill! I don't know what's going on with this property, but if all Tina is going to do is not address the ants I had in my room, argue with me, give others room upgrades and 50% off their stays, then clearly there's a disconnect because I don't now who in their right mind is ok with rooming with bugs. When asked who the regional manager is, (of course Tina replied she didn't know) and when I asked who is over her, that's when she said Radah (who I asked if that's the lady with the red sweater I've been watching the last 30min? ) & it was. I told Tina, I'd like to speak to. Radah. After another long wait, Radah came forward & was more understanding, helpful, apologetic, listened to what I said & acknowledged ants my roonm & in the laundry room & assured me an exterminator was coming out instead of coming at like Tina's argumentative demeanor!
I hadn't realized just how far out of Memphis this hotel was, but seeing as though we were just passing through, it wasn't a huge issue. Our room was spacious as we somehow were placed in a handicap accessible room (not by request). That made for a huge bathroom as well, and an unusual shower--it was a stall, but the shower curtain did not reach the floor, so it was an adventure with some of the water spraying onto the bathroom floor! However, the location was quiet and comfortable, and I have no real complaints.
I have stayed at this hotel twice this month. Everything is clean. The beds are comfy. The staff at the desk and breakfast are very friendly and nice. They have very nice suites with a separate room for the living room area . This was nice as our family met there for a reunion in town. The adults were able to meet and chat in the living room space while the children could sleep undisturbed in the bedroom. It was just perfect. I will definitely stay there again!
Not overwhelmed at all. Stayed here one night on our way to Graceland. The room was dated but nice. Bed comfortable. The issue was ants. Everywhere. We had them crawling on us in bed. Got our room switched but did not sleep well because we kept waking up thinking creepy crawly were all over us. The price for the hotel was exaggerated and no pool. Decent location and awesome breakfast were the only good things I could add. Staff did not believe us about the ants everywhere until they sent security to confirm then they moved on it after a good hour of us calling. No discount on rate offered at all and my points to my BW card were never added. I would not stay again. Nicer hotels in same area for much better rates.
This motel was a nice place, rooms were clean and beds comfortable with good choice on pillows. The breakfast was good with most of the regulars. They should get rid of their Yogurt Machines because they don't work well and we have had them at 2 different Best Western locations. The only thing we were upset with is when we checked in I told the lady at the desk that we booked for a little over a hundred dollars and asked if they couldn't do better and she yes and quoted us a rate of $88.19 of which I thanked her for doing. We stayed two nights and the 2nd day I went back to her and asked again about the rate she quoted and she yes that is what you will be charged and I have wrote a note for your room file. Well check out day came and we were charged the larger amount, so I went to the desk and showed my receipt for the higher amount and told her we were quoted a lower amount at check -in and she pulled our file and there was the note about the lower rate. She said she would have to leave this with the Manager to adjust us the $40.00, but that has never happened. I called a week after we got home from our trip and talked to a lady who said she would leave the information with the Manager and that they would for sure call me back the next day. Well guess what no call back, so reasons with them not keeping their word I probably would not stay here again. I really like Best Western, but being honest and keeping a persons word means more to me.
We selected this Best Western due to it's location to our family and events. What I look for in a motel stay are 3 things:1)a good night's sleep;2)a decent fitness area and 3)a filling breakfast. At this Best Western we got all 3..
I have a child in college in Memphis, so I'm getting to know hotels in the area. This is my pick from now on! LARGE room, great breakfast with lots of choices, and super comfortable beds. The only reason I didn't give it a five was the shower--the walk-in design is a good idea, but too much water ends up on the floor and the water pressure was weak. Otherwise I was extremely happy with this hotel for the price. I will be back!
Best Western should really check this place out. The lobby looked great so I thought I had made a great choice for the night. I was wrong. The room smelled like stale perfume; the bathroom had a sour odor - kind of like spoiled milk. The air conditioner (looked like an old style window unit but was mounted in the wall) was unbelievebly noisy! I couldn't hear the TV over it's constant roar (it never shut off). I turned it off when I went to bed but the room got so hot I had to turn it back on. Slept with a pillow over my head to help drown out the noise. I usually try to stay at a Best Western when possible but I may rethink that in the future.
I just returned from an overseas deployment and here visiting family amd friends. A friend recommended this location amd I am overall satisfied. The only reason I didn't give it 5 of 5 was because the showers should be designed a little bit better where water isn't splashing outside of the base portion that's designed to retain the water. This can cause later concerns for other issues. Also, no fan in the room, but I didn't check at the front desk, which I could have. Other than those minor things, everything else was awesome. The front desk representive, when I called and told her that I would be coming in late, made a note that the night receptionist saw and checked me right on in. The room was a comfortable temperature and plenty of parking for your private vehicle. WiFi works great and a hot breakfast was plentiful for the great price of free. There's a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Checking out was as easy as checking in. I am definitely coming back here and I would recommend anyone that wants a short term or extended stay to use this location.
We were disappointed with this location. The night front desk clerk was not friendly and would not look at me. She said nothing when she handed the me keys. I stood there had to ask if we were done. Yep, was her reply. The hotel itself is tired and needs refurbishing. There was quite a bit mold in the shower and enormous cobwebs in the bedroom. Just not clean. Two towels for a family room. Go figure?
we needed a last minute hotel for one night and I immediately looked up Best Western in the area , so glad we were able to be accommodated. the hotel room was clean and very comfortable. breakfast was satisfying. would stay again.
The room was very clean and well designed. Nice decorating and comfortable beds. The staff was friendly and gave us good suggestions for restaurants in the area. Breakfast was a buffet and not included but looked very good. The location of the hotel is a little weird because the entrance and exit are right off the major highway going one way. If you miss it you have to circle around. But the location was convenient when leaving in the morning and using the highway. I would stay here again.
The room was clean but the air conditioner fan was very loud. There was no way to turn the fan off without turning off the air entirely. It was over 90 outside so that wasn't an option. We had just stayed at a Best Western in Owensboro the night before and the room was twice the size of this one. We had a king bed. The sink was outside the bathroom. I don't normally have a problem with that but it wasn't down a hall from the bed. There was no hall. So it directly faced the foot of the bed. The bed was comfortable. The hotel was a reasonable driving distance to lots of restaurants and a Kroger.
Except for poor direct tv and poor to no tv reception, my stay was good, staff was friendly, breakfast was good.. rooms were clean. And well stocked. Refrigerators are small and not good for large drinks or items
Awesome, convenient location for the mall and visiting family. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. I even liked that the fitness center had strength and cardio options with the kettlebells, traditional weights, and treadmill.
This place is OK for a short stay - no pool, or hot tub. Frig in room was small and didn't cool very well. At least the woman who checked us in knew how to process Best Western Travel Cards - she was quick & efficient.
Check I process was smooth. Bed was comfortable. However, opened the cabinet on second night where refrigerator and microwave was and several baby roaches scattered. I only saw them in the cabinet but completely felt grossed out. I saw a different review saying the same and the hotel responded with "we called the exterminator and can assure you no roaches were found." That is not true. There ARE roaches. Wont stay here again
Clean, comfortable room just needed for one night to visit in Memphis area. We would use this hotel again. High speed internet was slow. Bed was comfortable - pillows were tiny. Standard hotel continental breafast.
This is an A++++++ hotel! Much better than I've stayed in recently. I highly recommend! It's clean, the breakfast is great, and its a great value! The employees are very nice as well. This made for a very plesant stay there. I WILL be back.
This hotel is conveniently located north of Wolfchase Mall right next to the expressway. The staff is great. The queen family room was more than enough room for my family. The hotel is clean and well decorated. You are about 20 minutes from Downton. We will definitely be staying here again.
Really easy to book even though it's last minute. The room is amazing and really clean. It is quite convenient as we will be going to the Elvis Presley mansion the next day. The free breakfast is a plus as well.
When we first pulled in someone from the front desk was in the parking lot shouting at a skateboarder to get off the property. That was a bit disconcerting. The room and lobby were clean but there were a few drawbacks. First, there was a little area off the main room with a twin bed. I love the concept because it was great for those traveling with a child. However, this particular area smelled liked dog urine. The second problem was that the air conditioner was a window unit stuck high up in the wall. It was noisy and blew air on us all night. I didn't eat breakfast so I can't comment on the food. Some reviewers complained about noise from the adjacent highway but that was not a problem for us. The price was great, though, for a traveling family.
I stay here all the time and always have a great stay! The staff is always friendly and all the amenities are top notch! I always eat breakfast and really enjoy the waffles, eggs and a variety of meats that they have.
Drove 20 hours from CT and Waited 20 mins at 11 pm at the desk to check in... desk was unmanned. The representative was in another room fixing a tv. When I questioned a manager the next morning as to why/ how this could happen... she insulted me stating I must not be in customer service because I could not understand why the desk was left unattended for 20 + minutes with a growing line behind me.?!? What the heck kind of question/ insult is that to say to your quest? & it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that manning your reception greeting area takes priority over fixing a tv- send maintenance to do that task. Overall , management does not care about guest concerns & the tv in our room did not work either...I asked her to take something off my bill and she refused. I would not stay again due to the the insulting demeanor of the staff, the wait time and poor quality of the rooms( non working tv's).
The hotel was sufficient - though the room had a stuffy smell. The breakfast was great for the kids. However the hotel is about a 30 minute drive to either Graceland or Beale Street - so if those are your destinations, pay the extra and go closer in. But it was easy to get to, shopping near by, lots of restaurant options, so depends on the trip purpose. Ours was to enjoy a bit of Memphis, and we had to travel from the hotel to do so.
My family of 6 passed through Memphis, and we comfortably fit into the suit. The hallway temperature was 10 degrees cooler than the room and the room had two division and only one window/wall unit to cool both spaces. It just didn't work. The breakfast was good. The staff was great. I think I'd get another place next time for our family.
Bathroom smelled of urine, the AC unit was so noisy you couldn't hear the TV at a decent volume and it also made it difficult to sleep. Nice lobby, if you want to sleep there. Beware of the bait and switch - looks good on the outside, but the room is still the same old tired BW rooms from yesteryear.
Check in was very easy and quick which was VERY nice having two children in a car all day. The room was clean and fresh. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was fully set up and tasted GREAT. Check out was just as easy as checking in and the front desk was great on directions.
Overall we had a good stay. The room was much nicer than we anticipated and we had lots of room. We booked 2 queens and ended up getting a handicap room with left lots of room for our two small children and it also came with a pull out sofa which was great. The breakfast was very good! The lobby had a bit of a musty smell but when we got to our room it smelled VERY nice and was VERY clean.
We stayed one night in Memphis, and on reading reviews about the city, decided to stay on Mud Island. The hotel is very cute. We were early arriving but as we were about to leave our bags our room became available (this was about 11am). The room itself was small, but it had a lovely view out onto the Mississippi. We were given a voucher for two glasses of champagne or wine (which you'd usually receive upon check in) and we later used these at the bar. We didn't eat dinner at the restaurant as we had reservations elsewhere so we just used the bar. The bar staff were lovely, but the bar itself is very dark as it's internal with no windows and is attached to one of their onsite restaurants. We visited Graceland while we were there, and it was so nice driving back onto Mud Island - it was like being in a totally different world. I realise this isn't the real down and dirty Memphis, but we loved it. There is a great gym less than 5 mins walk which you can use free of charge - just ask at reception. Parking is also free.
Our first impression of the hotel was probably the old, scary main elevator. The doors creak open slowly. When we were on it, we wondered whether we'd make it to the fourth floor. It definitely needs an update. The room was okay for the most part. The only issue I noticed was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Breakfast needs to be improved. For the number of people that this hotel can hold, it needs a bigger breakfast area and another person to help with it in the morning. The poor woman serving breakfast seemed overwhelmed, and there was a ton of people in such a small space.
We had a room with a king bed and a twin bed in a small room behind it; room 519. We noticed mold on the ceiling with the twin bed and my husband was coughing and sneezing all night. Luckily we stayed just one night and he has a breathing machine so I think that helped. Breakfast was alright. The yogurt and oatmeal with toppings was good. It can get really crowded and difficult to get around the breakfast area. We probably wouldn't stay again because of our allergies.
Nice staff, clean room, alright breakfast! The pullout couch bed was uncomfortable but bearable. I enjoyed having a ceiling fan, something you typically don't get in a hotel room. Best Western never fails!!!
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was close to the interstate and convenient for travel. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend my family and friends to stay here.
This hotel is located directly off the interstate. You can literally hear the traffic outside of your window. So, be prepared to hear traffic day and night. I had room 523. Also, the hand towels were hard as sandpaper, which I could not use. For this reason, I rated the stay average. Can't control the traffic, but you can control the softness of the hand towels. Found human hair in both beds. If I found it, I'm sure housekeeping could have easily found it by just turning back the sheets.
We arrived late due to a long day of travel. Sherrie, the front desk clerk was very friendly and welcoming. The lobby was bright, clean and pleasant. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was BW fare. This hotel is very easy to get to off of the 40. We would stay here again
We had a very good experience at this hotel. The breakfast choices were the best I've seen when traveling--boiled eggs, yogurt, and other healthy choices if you didn't want the biscuits and gravy thing. Got a very good night's sleep, and we were rested and ready to hit the road in the am. Every employee we encountered gave us a friendly greeting. There are two restaurants in walking distance of the hotel.
Comfortable room, friendly staff, great breakfast. Conveniently located to downtown Memphis, Beale Sreet, Graceland and many other attractions. I will definitely stay here, again, if I get the opportunity to return to Memphis.
We had the king suite, and it was perfect. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was a little odd as the sink wasn't anywhere near the bathroom, but I checked most corners and can say our room was bug free. The check in staff was fairly friendly. Checking out agent was very friendly and made sure to say, "Come back and see us", which was very welcoming and made the end of our trip very pleasant. They don't offer an early check in option, which was kind of disappointing because it was very late notice that I had to be there earlier than expected and needed the room to change from the drive. Overall, the room was great and relaxing. Will definitely stay if I'm ever in Memphis again.
I rated this a 3 because the staff were awesome. The room smelled of marijuana. The toilet wobbled and wasn't bolted to the floor. The bed was horrible. It was like a brick. I got no sleep due to the tossing and turning. I hirt so bv and in the morning. The king wasn't a true king size bed Will not stay again at this location.
No Clean towels!!!!So angry..checked in on Friday afternoon, showered and kept towels.. woke up on Saturday, showed used same towels..No problem.. asked for clean towels for Saturday evening and was told no clean towels in the hotel at all. While at the front desk spoke to Sherri.. who displayed poor customer skills and who refused to give me managers number. Called corporate and they really were not able to resolve issue. So if you have a full hotel you didn't prepare to have clean towels prepared and available for customers.. Dissatisfied and Disappointed.. might be last stay at any Best Western Corporate could not resolve!!! For sure my last stay here!!
This is an older property, yet for the right on off Interstate location, customer service, cleanliness and value, it deserves 5 stars! We forgot our expensive, beloved personal pillows and they actually SHIPPED them to our home! Thank-you!
This was our first time staying at a BW Plus. The reviews were great, so we decided to give it a try. I really wanted this to be a good review, but I just couldn't make it happen. First of all, the hotel has been remodeled and you can tell it. The tub and toilet in the bathroom was left from the "old" hotel. They didn't bother to put in a new tub or toilet. the door frames still had rust and old peeling paint on them. This is nothing a little sanding and paint couldn't have taken care of and made a world of difference! Now, the AC unit! I have never in my life heard an AC unit that was so loud. It was so loud, it woke us up out of a deep sleep! And no, we are NOT light sleepers! The unit was a window type unit that was installed into the drywall. All night, you could hear the water from the unit running (to where, I don't know). When the water stopped, you knew the unit was about to come on. Thank God we were only staying for 1 night, as that night, we got NO SLEEP! Now let me pause and say, the room was very clean and the staff was super friendly! Breakfast the next morning was horrible looking! We took one look at the food and went straight to Burger King. For a one-night stay, it was OK, but I'm not sure this would be my first choice.
Roaches in bathroom. Breakfast is horrible. Had a strange oder in room. Completely horrible. Waste of money. Staff could careless when a complaint is made. Noisy hallways and lobby area,so loud you can barely hear someone right in front of you.
The staff was great and friendly. The room was very clean with no issues. The size of the room was very large. Great place for a family size of 4. Plenty of room within the room so that the children could space out and not be so close to each other. The location was great and very close to everything without a 5 mile radius. This is the best Best Western in the Memphis area that I have ever stayed in. Will be back soon!
The overall stay at the hotel was ok.. No complaints there but when we check in the hotel manager notice that we had food items, paper plates, etc going to the room with the kitchen. She comfronted me and said that if she gets any complaints that we are making any noise from the "Party" that they would put the group out. I told her that we were a CHURCH YOUTH GROUP of 29 people and there wasn't any party and that we wasn't traveling that far to cause any confusion that would cause us to be put out. When I said we was a church youth group her attitude changed, cause it was trembling in her voice when she first address me. I felt as if she addressed our presence all wrong and we were instantly stereotyped. Long story short it's all in how you talk to people...IM JUST SAYING!!!. I will not be staying at that location..
This was a nice hotel with a good breakfast. It is not as close to downtown and airport as I was led to believe. But it has easy freeway access so that wasn't as much of a problem as it could have. Does seem to attract a lot of teams!!
We were there for several days. The hotel is clean and quiet. The hotel was completely booked and breakfast meant waiting for food to be restocked, but the staff did a great job considering how much people were eating. The breakfast meats were different each day of our stay. The air conditioning was mounted high up and came with a remote control Very cleans.
This Best Western is very nice. The standard suites are two rooms: one bedroom and one living room. Very nice. Quiet. We had an upgrade that also included a third room, which was a full kitchen with large frig, stove and dining table. The breakfast included real scrambled eggs, sausage, hard boiled eggs, muffins, cereal, etc. There was also a fresh yogurt machine and toppings to put on that yogurt. Very nice. I will definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.
Walked into the room and the air/heat unit was off; soon realized it could have been because the unit was LOUD and after being on for a few minutes, the room smelled of cigarette smoke. Also (something that we simply decided to overlook) we had to squeeze between one of the beds and the wall to get into the bathroom! Because we checked in around 9pm maybe we got the worse room in the hotel. Regardless, after a while I went down to notify the front desk about the noise and the smell. The explanation for the air unit noise was that some of the rooms have noisy units, some don't. As for the smell, I was offered spray. We ended up staying because there were no other hotels in the area with vacancies and we wanted to be close to family who live in the area. My daughter and I didn't get much sleep and by morning we both had sore throats. We think it was due to the smell and our allergies. My family and I visit Memphis often and the switch from another hotel (off Poplar) was not poor experience for us.
This hotel has a restful possible potential probably peaceful place per plenty of space, plus pondering points per people presiding past the point of popping in! Should see such significant superior states of sleep staying. Should stop, sit, surround yourself soon!
I usually stay at this hotel for business but I will not be staying here again. They treated me like I didn't belong at that hotel. I am a best western rewards member and I am a top member I'm always staying at a best western hotel but I will not be returning to this hotel again with the service I received!!
Hotel looks updated. Room quite clean, bed comfy, good water pressure.Great location, easy access. Many close food choices.Small fridge, no freezer compartment. No side exits, only lobby exits. Would stay here again.
Originally reserved a room with a king. Instead, got a room with two queen beds and a backroom. The beds and room was great. The staff was helpful. Breakfast was really good. Hotel is located near a freeway and lots of restaurants and stores.
This Best Western Plus is located a very accessible location with plenty of restaurants near by within walking distance. Staff was friendly and helpful. Free WiFi worked well and I enjoyed my stay had an good experience.
My husband and I stayed 2 nights and we were extremely pleased with our stay! Our room was spacious and beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. Even though our window faced the interstate, the noise was minimal. Hot breakfast of fresh scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, biscuits and gravy and make-yourself waffles, was nice as well as other options like fruit and yogurt, cereal and pastries were available. The only cons that I feel are worth mentioning was the fact they only supplied one wash cloth and 2 large towels - it would have been nice to have had more. Also the heating and cooling unit was a bit dated and extremely loud. But overall, we had a very nice stay.
Our room was ready earlier than expected so that was much appreciated!! Room was clean and inviting and the staff was great! Close to the Wolfchase Galleria Mall and so many other activities/restaurants, etc.
Now that we are retirees and on a budget we decided to shop reviews and prices where previously it was automatically Hampton. The rooms are clean and the staff are nice. The breakfast was standard fare. The seating was ample. The bed linen was not quite on par with Hampton, however. The linen was not crisp and the lower sheet was not fitted. Other than that, not bad.
I almost always stay at HI Express but, I couldn't find one close, so I tried this place. It had good reviews and the price was good, so why not. The room was clean and even smelled clean. Check in was painless and quick. Impressed all the way around. Maybe I found a new chain to stay at.
My family of four recently stopped in while traveling rhrough Memphis. The hotel is right of of I40, huge plus for us! Amenities were great, breakfast was great. Very satisfied with the value for our dollar. Will most definitely stop in again as we travel through the area often!
As others have stated, the gps directions for this hotel are wrong. Make sure you: go right on New Brunswick, left on Ricky Bell Cove Rd into the parking lot. The room was immaculately clean. The reservation was for 4 people but the room only had 3 towels and 1 wash cloth upon arrival. They got more for us immediately when asked. The AC unit was very noisy and disrupted sleep. Beware there is no pool in this facility. We also had ants in our room. Since I have kids, I would not stay here again. There are others more suited to families.
The Best Western Plus Galleria Inn & Suites worked very well with my group of 19 people. The check-in staff was phenomental. Very nice place to stay. The breakfast had good variety and taste. Each person I encountered was very polite.
I picked this hotel pretty randomly, just looking for a place to stay in the Memphis area. Excellent comfortable and room, very ADA-accommodating. The free breakfast Was high quality for the price, and there is a large dining area so it was never overcrowded. Even if it's a bit outside the main city, I'll come back here should I return. On another accessibility note: I have a knee injury so the walk-in shower was a welcome relief.
Walked in late and met Sherri!! Upbeat, kind and VERY helpful! We did not have a reservation and the place was full except for a couple of rooms. She put us in a LARGE King and it was more than what we expected!! Parking lot had just a couple of spots left but were able to get our truck in one. Then the best thing we seen, walking security!! What a great piece of mind. You never hear good things about travel and Memphis but here is the place!! THANKS!! ANDY AND KATHY
Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Staff was pleasant. But the hotel Is about 100 feet from a very busy, and loud freeway. I stayed Sunday night and the semi traffic was constant. Bring earplugs. I've had much better for the price.
The staff was super, the room was very clean, night security provided, lots of good food and shopping nearby, great breakfast, bed was okay. That was the only thing I woulda have preferred to be different
I found the staff to be very friendly and the hotel to be very clean. We stayed in a King suite. The attempts to modernize fell short, nice new furnishings but 0 usb plugs for charging phones or tablets. The older style wall air conditioner was loud and made it difficult to hear the TV unless the volume was turn up loud which I'm sure the neighbors wouldn't appreciate. The sink is not in the bathroom but around the corner between the bedroom and greeting room. This is the first suite I've stayed at without a pull or fold out sofa or daybed. If an additional guest or child stayed you have to request a fold out cot for an additional $20 per night. If I had to stay here again I would, but it wouldn't be my first choice.
Yes I would stay at this hotel again. The hotel staff was pleasant and friendly, and the king size room was nice. The amenities was good especially the make up remover. The breakfast was good and plentiful.
My husband and I out on a road trip stopped in for the night. We love Best Western Hotels and they are always our first inquiry when out traveling. The bed was extremely comfortable and we got a great nights rest!!
We found the hotel neat and clean. The room was just fine. Nothing extraordinary but nothing bad to report. Breakfast was the usual Best Western offering which is OK. Disappointing that there was no pool. Near a mall and lots of restaurants. In regards to the room charge, it was a very acceptable hotel for a bargain price. We would return to this Hotel again.
Nice hotel, friendly staff from front desk clerks to housekeeping. Only con I had, was the placement of the tp roll in the bathroom. I nearly seat on the roll trying to use the bathroom. Placed in a bad spot.
Exceeded my expectations this the second time ive stayed at this bw+ and this time was absolutely wonderful everything was perfect nice and clean and the breakfast set up is really nice alot to choose from
I stay here just about every time I am in Memphis. For the last 10 years I have been staying here they have always had a friendly staff, clean rooms, and just great service all around. With the close proximity of food, and shopping and the ease of accessibility why would you choose anywhere else.
Loved this hotel. Modernized lobby. We stayed in the 2 queen room with a single bed. Room itself was completely renovated. Loved that the single bed was a separate room assy my husband (a very light sleeper) was able to get some good rest after 9 hours of driving. The washroom was not renovated but it was clean and had a good shower head so this didn't bother us at all. There was enough space in the room for a family of 5. Parking was convenient and plenty of space available. Fridge had a freezer which is convenient because we were travelling with ice packs. Staff was wonderful and kept the hotel clean. Location was good Thanks for the wonderful stay.
Very nice hotel. Front desk employees very friendly. Hotel clean. Rooms clean and spacious. Complimentary breakfast good, cereals, yogurt, toast, bagels, danishes, waffles, biscuit and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit. Lobby has coffee available all day. Location about 25 to 3p minutes east of downtown Memphis. I would stay here again
Shirley helped us check in and was very polite and professional, even though we checked in at 2 AM. Hotel room was decent, bed was comfy, however, AC was loud, when anyone would shower, it would leak and create a water puddle by the toilet, and the shower head was loose from the wall, so we couldn't move it around very much without it falling out. Breakfast was horrible. Eggs had no taste, only meat was ham that tasted like pepperoni, biscuits weren't done all the way. The hotel itself was good, just avoid breakfast unless you get waffle/pancakes or cereal.
We were in the King Luxury Suite and it was very nice, clean, and roomy. It was basically a living room, dining room, office, and separate bedroom. I really liked being able to shut the bedroom door and have privacy from the other areas of the suite. Would definitely go back!
the people were super friendly and room was super clean..ac unit in the wall was loud the only complaint at all. would definitely stay again and would recommend it to friends and family. 2 thumbs up!!
This has been a repeat visit because the motel's comfort, quality and location. Staff was friendly. Slept well because room was comfortable and quiet: 2 dings - aged elevator and watery gravy. Biscuits and watery gravy.
We arrived very early due to light traffic on our route. The staff had no problems and welcomed us with open arms. They checked us in immediately and we were able to relax, rest, shower and change before going out to dinner. We really appreciated this hotels staff taking great care of us. Everything was perfect during our stay!
Parking can be a bit tight, and the entrance/exit can be busy, this is a good hotel located on the east end of Memphis, immediately off of Interstate 40. I often look for hotels in this area when traveling east, especially when Jackson is busy, so this was a good choice on the last trip. The room was big, the bed comfortable, and the internet worked well. Breakfast was okay, the typical basic cooked meal, cereal, etc. It was a bit noisy on the freeway side, but running the fan covered it up. Security was good with just the main front and back doors into the main atrium open, the rest had alarms and were secure.
Best western in many locations always are friendly. This one went out of their way to assist us when we needed it. This hotel is spotless with a great breakfast bar. Surgar cookies in the afternoon was a hit.
We stayed here for 3 nights for our visit to Memphis. This hotel is a little way out from the sightseeing but was great for us. It is situated between 2 busy roads, and after a 7 hour drive we got to our room and it was a little noisy but the lady at the desk kindly moved us to the other side of the hotel which was quieter.the room was huge and nice and clean. Each morning there was a hot and cold plentiful breakfast, with fresh coffee all day which was great. I would highly recommend this hotel as a stop off on your travels.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean rooms. Yes, the traffic was noticeable at night - it's right next to the interstate - but it wasn't distracting enough that we couldn't sleep. It's also about 30 minutes away from Memphis attractions we wanted to see, but it was easy enough to hop on the interstate and drive into Memphis for the day. Overall, we really loved our stay and would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here with 5 people and had plenty of room. The room was clean and comfortable. I'd reccomend this place to anyone passing through who don't want to break the bank just to sleep. It was close to places to eat and easy to get to.
On the long way home to Texas, we pulled in to BEST WESTERN PLUS. I was told there was no 2 queen bed rooms for me & mom but she might have a king suite. I ran out to ask mom if she would mind sharing a king bed. Not necessary however, because there was a family plus available. It featured a king bed & a twin bed separated by a divider wall. Mom slept warm & I was able to sleep cold. Great room, very clean,& great staff! Will visit again!
Trip Advisor friends, So much of this hotel was very good, But the review got pulled down to average. Front desk: Good. Breakfast: good. Bed:Good, Clean, Yes. So the main things were done very well. We were in room 502 for 4 days. June 28. We did not even HEAR the road out front. Because our Air Conditioner was making so much noise. This room has 2 queen beds, I was right under it. its high on the wall. It would start and stop with a BANG. My wife and I started to make FUN of it, we would so a fake JUMP, like it scared us. When we were in bed. We SHOULD have told the front desk, but we are not really complainers. Then the toilet seat broke off. Well I am 6 foot 4 and 250 pounds. I am pretty big, but not like a giant, or NBA. That I did report. The pillows are very small, square things, good news is you get 4, bad news is they are so small, and square, they just fall off. So by the morning, you are huddled in the middle on two. One each, one has fallen off each side. There is a sink in the hallway, GREAT idea. but no mirror above it. So I was brushing my teeth, because my wife and daughter hogged the main bathroom, and I kept looking AT the painting like it WAS a mirror. I could have use it much more with a mirror above it. Location is great. so much is great. These are my only complaints. so if you read this and roll your eyes, that's ok. I really have nothing major to complain about. Thank you. dr. Darrell of Michigan.
We stayed two nights here while visiting Memphis. The hotel is clean and nice and located right off the interstate. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The only complaint would be the road noise, however we found if you turned the AC down low enough, it drowns out the road noise. They have free breakfast too.
The rooms were comfortable since I stayed on the quieter side. Adding a second elevator was huge so that I didn't feel like I was waiting all day at the original elevator. Breakfast was delicious, but it was a bit stuffy since the dining area is behind the entrance. The staff was fantastic and made me and my family feel very welcome. We have used this hotel frequently and were not disappointed. Keep up the great job.
We got a room what faced the highway. It was almost impossible to sleep because it was very loud. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the breakfast staff kept everything nice and clean.
The bad: After a long day of travel, I didn't think to ask for a quiet room at check-in. Our room was on the freeway side on the 3rd floor and the roar of the traffic went all night long. The good: Clean, convenient to restaurants, friendly desk staff, breakfast choices.
Hotel looked nice, rooms very small. I made two complaints about mold/fungus coming out of the ice machine on the third floor. I was informed, an out of order sign would be placed on the ice machine, it never happen. I stayed there 25-28 May 18. This is a safety hazard for everyone, especially for someone with allergies.
Smells like smoke roaches in restroom nasty kids running all over staff is okay i had to change my light bulbs to get lights overall I will never use this one again I travel a lot will never use this one
Recently renovated but dated rooms. Everything about the facility, room and breakfast was nice as we would expect from a BW Plus stay. Our room air conditioner was placed high in the wall but had a convenient remote control; down side was that it ran continuously on only a high speed or low speed; was a bit noisy but we slept well. Stay cost $117 total for one night..in line with area prices but too high all things considered. We booked through Expedia.
It was a good size, clean room. The walls seemed a little 'thin' since we could hear people in the next room but they settled down and we were able to sleep after a very long drive. Breakfast was okay and included biscuits, gravy, sausage and waffles.
staff would not honor my request to move to a quieter room away from the freeway traffic and then wanted me to pay an additional fee for the room, if I changed rooms. also would not cancel the reservation when I refused to stay in the room and charged me one day's stay after I returned the key and left the hotel. horrible customer service! I would never recommend or return to this hotel.
The hotel offers a very good value and excellent location to the freeway. Breakfast is typical of hotel in that it has the basics. Very close to many good restaurants in the area and close to Wolf Chase shopping center.
We stay here every time we come to Memphis. We travel to Memphis at least every 3 months for medical treatment. This location is top notch. Because of this location we have started staying at Best Western Plus when available.
On the way to Florida we decided to spend a couple of days in Memphis. We stayed here and it was very nice. It isn't in the downtown area but it is a fast 15 trip on the freeway. Our room was very clean and roomy, they staff was very friendly.
This was a very good place to stay. The staff were very personable. The breakfast was great. The room was great. They had two gueens and a twin, perfect for the three of us. I only had one fault with this hotel, there were a couple of ants on the twin bed. I told them on the way out. So 8 am sure they will take care of this.
This hotel is well situated just off I40.. Attendant was very helpful at our arrival as she helped us use our gift card which was in Can.$. Place is very clean and comfortable. We find everything needed in the room. We strongly recommend this place.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and slept like babies. The beds were super comfortable and I loved the pillow selection. The complementary breakfast that's provided is varied and there is lots to choose from. Check in and check out were fast and friendly. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel! I loved the fact that the vanity area is separate from the toilet/shower, and there was lots of counter space. They are generous with the towel supply. The room had a separate twin bed in a tiny alcove which we used as our dressing room. There is a microwave and fridge, but no safe. I know I can always count on Best Westerns! ??
I thought that is was very nice and clean. I didn't have a reservation but was able to get a room: I think that it was the "family suite". It had a king bed in the main portion of the room and a twin "tucked" around the corner....I thought this was very cool and had never seen a room like this. The bathroom was small compared to what I'd be used to in a regular room: the bathroom consisted of the toilet and tub while the sink was in the room area. (This didn't bother me but just stating it so that you are aware.) The room was on the 1st floor but I was not bothered by car or people noise. It was conveniently located right off the highway and only 20 minutes from the zoo which I visited the next morning. It was also within walking distance to a restaurant (which gave a discount to people staying at the hotel). Overall, it was what I typically expect at a Best Western: clean room with nice staff.
The decor was up to date and the hotel was well maintained. I left Country Inn because it was terrible and came here to stay and was so glad I did. I would stay here again, it's well worth the money.!!
Great place and Great Staff they are really helpful. This is the second time we stayed here and it is an awesome place I will definitely stay here again. The beds are really comfortable. Good restaurants nearby.
This hotel is amazing. I travel all over the county and stay in hotels about eight months out of the year. Very very clean, the rooms are great. I got upgraded to a king suite due to my membership with Best Western. The woman at the front desk (I can't remember her name but she has purple hair) was the nicest when I was checking in. Rooms are super quiet. I don't know why people are saying the air conditioner is loud...it really isn't. If I am ever in Memphis again I will 100% be staying here, no doubt about it. You can also get a discount at O'Charleys and the steakhouse with your key card!! Keep up the great work here and give that woman at the front desk a raise!!!
We called ahead to make a reservation, and were told they were filling fast. The check-in was easy, with a very friendly desk clerk. She gave us her suggestions for nearby dinner choices, and we ended up trying the one located closest to the hotel, O'Charley's. Our second floor two queen room was nice enough. We did like the four pillows on each bed. The large sink and counter immediately on the right as we walked into the room was different, but seemed to work okay. Toilet and shower were separate, but there was a noisy fan. One switch turned on both the light and fan-not the best idea. We used our sound machine, and that helped muffle the road noise from nearby I-40. Breakfast was okay, with good scrambled eggs and sausage patties. My husband tried the biscuits and gravy, but his biscuit was hard and almost impossible to eat. The coffee was warm, but not very hot. The location is good, and returning to I-40 East was quite easy.
Stayed here for three nights while our son's baseball team was playing in the area. We had one of the family rooms, (506) two double beds with an additional twin bed in a small room off the main room. Was just the two of us, since our son was staying with his team, but this was the only room available when we booked. The room was clean, well maintained and located on the end of the hall so only had one room next to us. There is an elevator at the end of the hall near the room as well, so instead of taking the elevator the main lobby we would walk down the first floor hallway and take the elevator there, less waiting that way. The breakfast in the mornings was pretty much what you find at most complimentary breakfasts. No complaints, was hot and did it's job. All of the staff we came in to contact with were very pleasant. Great location too. Several near by places to eat.
The hotel was located just off the freeway and was walking distance to a restaurant. We only stayed overnight, but it was a very nice location. My only complaint was that the staff did not pay attention to our request when we made the reservations (requested a room on the first floor) and had to change it when we arrived.
From check in to check out, my experience here was outstanding! Pamela, at the front desk, was professional, friendly, and helpful. The room was very quiet, very clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast was good and presented nicely. All the staff was friendly and welcoming. This will be my place whenever I need to stay anywhere close to Memphis! Thank you!
We stopped here for a quick overnight stay after making our reservation from the car along the drive. The hotel had good reviews, and we were not disappointed! It is in a good location, easily accessible from I-40. The hotel seemed new -- everything was really clean and in great condition. Our room was large, huge tv, nice furniture, and comfy beds. There is a small fridge (no freezer area), in-room coffee maker, and the beds were really comfy! The breakfast area is nicely arranged with a large u-shaped counter, which kept everyone from bunching up in the same place for food. There were a couple of hot choices, and lots of the standard cereal, yogurt, bagel type choices. One criticism is that there were scrambled eggs as a hot choice, but my husband said they were barely warm and seemed old. We really were happy with this hotel and felt that it was a great value -- we would definitely stay here again!
This is a really good hotel. My room was very clean. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. Really large tv in the room....had a coffeemaker, small fridge and microwave, which was so convenient. Awesome breakfast! It was much better than other places I have stayed.....they had hot eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy......as well as bagels, toast, muffins, pastries, cereals, oatmeal and you could also make your own waffles. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they had the orange juice machine turned off at night.....I really wanted to get some oj before bed but couldn't. I would definitely stay here again!
The staff are so friendly! We were always greeted when we either were coming in or leaving! The rooms were very clean and so was the rest of the hotel. Everything is close by for your convenience! The breakfast is delicious! They did not have any bacon when we were there. Only ham :(
We love BW ... especially the PLUS! The Galleria was really nice! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Restaurants close by Hooters, Steak N Shake, Eintein's Bagels and more ... dinner and breakfast options are available. Room was nice and bed comfortable. Did not eat breakfast at hotel.
I stay at this hotel at least 100 plus times a year as I travel a lot for my job.It is very clean and the owner is a very nice guy. HE Continually updates the rooms and exterior of the hotel to keep it up to date and modern .The staff is always helpful and they have a pretty good breakfast.
I've never experienced a bad stay here, it's always been a pleasure to come to this hotel. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. The breakfast is always set up very nicely, neat, and clean.
Spacious room, very clean, well furnished, very complete breakfast, attentive staff. Far better than most of our hotel experiences. What could be improved - the rooms are subject to interstate noise that requires the HVAC to be run to block it, a slightly thicker or foam lined inner curtain at the window would solve that. A very large and nice flatscreen that suffers from the same malady of all hotel units, the poor internal sound system requires the volume be too high for clarity wish they would all supply a basic soundbar. And buy a truckload of 2700 kelvin warm led bulbs and replace the non work area lamps that are cold cfl's. For us, at least it would then be close to perfect.
The wife and I made our reservations 2 days in advance of our January 15, 2018 stay. Checking in was quick and efficient but upon arrival to our room we noted that the room was for handicapped patrons which is not our situation. The hotel didn't appear to be full to capacity ... so it would have been nice if the checkin desk would have at least told us that it was a handicap room and possibly offered us an exchange. That aside, the room was spacious and had what appeared to be an extra large flat screen television. The staff was very friendly and the courtesy free breakfast was good and open until 10 AM. The fitness room was nicely equipped but I did not see any equipment wipe down towelettes available. Overall it was a very good stay, reasonably priced, and we would without a question consider staying there again.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel last weekend. Our room was very nice and clean and the free breakfast was great. I also left my Hunter boots behind in the hotel room. They found them for me and I was able to get them back. They are a very honest and caring staff with excellent character. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Memphis. The Front desk clerk, Mamie was so particularly helpful during our stay. I just want to thank her and them all so much for making our visit wonderful.
Stayed at there Memphis location twice over the last year on business. Great staff, nice clean rooms. Close to nice places to eat, near interstate. Would recommend this locatio to any one. You will not be disappointed.
We found this Best Western to be outstanding. It was very convenient with easy access from the highway to the hotel. Close by were several good places to eat. The best part was this Best Western was very clean, had great front desk staff, a good breakfast, a comfortable bed, and was very quiet! Everything we wanted!
Met up with my sisters for a family event. Everything was great. The price was good, and the breakfast was wonderful. This will be our stopping point for future trips. The hotel was clean. Guest services was great. They offered great customer service. The rooms are very spacious.
Very convenient location, spacious room, friendly staff, nice breakfast, wifi is fast. the only issue is that the heater is very loud, we had to turn it off in order to sleep, and it was a cold night.
My son and I stayed here 3 nights to enjoy New Years in Memphis. The Best Western Plus was not only a great price but we had a wonderful experience! The staff was super nice...from the ladies that checked us in to housekeeping! The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast was nice. There are many eating establishments near by as well as a nice mall. On a personal note, after we checked out and got an hour away, my son realized he left his ring in the room. I called the hotel and Tina sent housekeeping right up and called me to say the ring was found. She sent it to us!!! When I visit Memphis I will ONLY stay here because these folks go above and beyond!
Enjoyed stay, great location and lot of good places to get food. Parking was good but there was some trash laying in the parking lot. Clean lobby and good access to the lobby. Elevator door wanted to close before wife was able to enter, she uses a walker due to problems walking
I have stayed in this hotel probably 1000 times and they are always helpful and just a pleasure to speak with. The rooms are always clean, and everything is always in working order. In the years I have been staying here they have updated the hotel at least 5 times. Always kept up appearance of outside and lobby area.
The hotel room itself was very clean and bed comfortable, but the size of the room and especially the bathroom, was one of the smallest I've had in the last few years. The décor was also so dark that I had to turn on every light in the room in order to be comfortable. The breakfast offerings were average.
We were in town in a group for a hurricane relief volunteer mission. The hotel was the best. They had little animals made of towels like cruise ships have, accompanied by snacks and welcome letters from the manager and owner. Also, the breakfast here is top notch. This upbeat chef, Joe Austin will make you a pancake, burrito or omelet personalized all complimentary. The staff, many of whom were personally impacted by the disaster that brought us to Houston, really demonstrated the resilience of Houston. It was a great stay and we will revisit the BW Galleria next time!
Traveling with a 16 month old is never the easiest, but when I got upstairs to my room and realized how tiny the king sized bed room was, I felt defeated. It was claustrophobic. There was wood furniture with sharp corners and a tiny walkway to get through the dresser and bed to the other side of the room. No room for a toddler to toddle. Room was hot and air conditioner wouldn't stay on. Made it downstairs in the morning for breakfast and had a chuckle though - Hostess cupcakes were being served. Overall, would be alright for one person but not clumsy little ones.
This hotel was very clean and the personnel were very nice. After a long day of driving and nice welcome. The only thing was our room faced a four lane road and could here the road notice. But would still stay here again in passing through Memphis.
The bed at the hotel was comfortable, but the sheets were very worn. The breakfast was nice. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The hotel is very conveniently located on hwy 40, on the road to Nashville.
This hotel was excellent. We stayed 4 nights and have no complaints. The lobby was tastefull with plenty of seating along with coffee available anytime. We requested the larger King room with a sitting couch area. The room was nice and big as we wanted for visiting with relatives. I highly recommend this hotel. Oh and there are Lots of restaurants and the Galleria Mall close by.
This hotel was such a joy for my family! The room my family and I stayed in was a 2 queen bed suite with the full kitchen for the thanksgiving holiday as we visited family in Memphis. The room was so much more than expected, especially the kitchen and washer and dryer in the room! The only issue was the sink's water pressure in the kitchen, but above all I would recommend this for any family that wouldn't mind saving money and making a meal!
This is one of the better BW's that I have stayed in. All of the staff that I interacted with from front desk clerk to housekeeping, we all very polite and professional. They helpful and accommodating with asked. My only reason for the poor sleep quality rating is due the intrusive highway noise that could be heard as a result of poor seals around the window air-conditioning units.
Let me 1st say we stay at BW a lot...that being said I have to say overall this hotel had their signature bed and I always receive a clean hotel room from them. But I am very unhappy with the fact they offer child size pillows which are about 1/2 the size of regular pillows. No one with a normal adult size head could be comfortable with these pillows. In addition the heat/air system was extremely loud and kicked on all night long. Needless to say we did not sleep well. The breakfast hot items were not so good. There ware no biscuits or gravy and the sausage was like rubber. This hotel is very confusing to find the entrance...we drove in circles for 20 minutes before we figured how to get in.
We stayed in a standard king room on the I-40 side of the hotel. The window HVAC unit was open to I-40 so ALL the TRUCK NOISE bombarded the room so LOUDLY that it was difficult to sleep and you could not hear the TV without putting it up very loud. The room was very small with not enough room for 2 people to walk between the bed and the dresser without turning sideways to pass. The small vanity and sink were in the bedroom with the light shining on the bed so one person could not get ready while the other slept. The vanity was too small for 2 people and the sink was crowded onto one side and you couldn't wash your face without hitting your head on the towel bar. The refrigerator was TINY. On the plus side the shower was hot with a good spray head and plenty of water volume. The continental breakfast is better than most. I looked into a double queen room the day we left and it is a much better arrangement with more space and while the vanity is in the bedroom it is around the corner so the light does not shine directly onto the bed. Where the hotel is located is a nice place, but being right on the highway literally I gave it a poor rating. The room was very clean and the furnishings were good...I gave it average because it was so very small and cramped. It's great for one person, but not for two. I rated the value average because of room size and arrangement, and because for a $100 I expected all these things to be better. We had stayed in a LaQuinta the night before for $20 less per night and had none of these issues.
The stay was great and everyone was very friendly! I would definitely recommend this hotel. The breakfast was the typical standard breakfast The beds were very comfortable. The TV remote came in a sanitized bag which was great.
This is a nice and clean..but very pleasant Best Western. The employees go beyond their duties. The checkng in process was very fast and stress free. The frid and coffee..maker..plus mircowave..was a plus for me.Thank You management...for the service and caring attitude. You made my trip to Memphis a pleasure.Your front desk staff..lea and Jamie made my visit a good one.The free breakfast...and service with a smile..won my heart. My room being very clean and we'll taken care of..just makes me want to come back again.Sincerely,Bigbabybanks.
Very good experience. Room was small but clean and hotel was clean and staff was polite and helpful. Hotel is locayed near many restaurants as well as a shopping mall and movie theater. Would stay here again but would order a room with double bed so room would be adequate size.
A good choice for an overnight stay after a day on the road. Breakfast was just okay but there were a lot of choices. Staff was extremely helpful and they even upgraded our room without asking. The room was very clean. In an area with lots of restaurants close by.
A/C unit was very similar to a window unit. Extremely noisy even though it was working properly. Had to wear earplugs to sleep and they didn't even completely block out the noise. The bed was also extremely uncomfortable.
Had an over night with a late check in. The rooms were extremely clean, and nice, if just a bit cramped. Breakfast was great. Good deal for the money. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. The hot tub easily fit 2 people.
This hotel is exceptional. employees have pride in their place of employment and it shows. The breakfast area was kept clean, the tables were wiped clean after each person left and the trash cans were emptied. The rooms were quiet even though there was a highway near by.
Over all a very satisfactory experience. The staff, room, and amenities were very satisfactory. Comfortable bed, clean and quiet room. The breakfast was average compared to other similar places I have stayed. There are good restaurants in the area.
The room was very clean, which I appreciate the most. There was no hair dryer in room, I had brought my own so not sure if I would have asked for one if I would have gotten one. All in all I would stay again for sure.
Our party stayed in king mini-suites. Having a separate bedroom was needed, and the setup of these mini-suites was good. Drawback was that although the sink, coffee bar, closet, couch, side chair and table, and additional TV were all available without having to open the bedroom door, the tub/toilet was not. For the person sleeping in the bed, the bathroom light shines directly in their eyes. Another small annoyance for the sleeper is the odd way the air conditioning unit cycled on-and-off constantly. Other than these small issues, it was very clean, very comfortable.
Could not sleep because of the roar of the AC unit and only had a remote control that you could not see what you were changing. Only way to quiet unit was to turn it off and then it got so hot you could not stay in the room. Horrible night and would never stay there agin.
The location was excellent rooms where very clean internet was fast and front desk greeted me and was very polite and helpful, full breakfast and spacious dining area made it very comfortable to enjoy...
The hotel was beautifully decorated. The room was very nice everything was clean. The breakfast section was really good. I liked the entrance the fall decor was both fun and tasteful. The staff were professional and friendly.
This hotel was really awesome. There were so many restaurants close to us that it was difficult to decide what to eat! My only down fall was the mattress did hurt my bad back, but otherwise it was a extremely comfortable room and very large.
First, I must say the hotel and room were clean. The staff were very helpful. However, the room has a window unit air conditioner in the wall that is quite noisy. It's so high, I couldn't reach it to adjust the room temperature without standing on a chair. It's right over the bed, so if you're a sound sleeper, like me, this is NOT the place for you. Then, there's the window issue. Our room faced the major highway, and there's a huge, bright security light shining right at the window. It kept the room lit brighter than a Christmas tree! The curtains don't close, so if you like a dark room, this is NOT the place for you.. Then, almost worse than all if this is there are no USB ports, so if you have to plug in electronics, bring your wall outlets! By the way, the outlet on the right side of the bed didn't work, so don't plan on charging your phone next to your bed. Off to breakfast, hoping for a good experience.
The hotel was nice the room was kept clean every day and overall hotel was good. Close to everything and attractions we wanted to see. Only issue was Wi-Fi wouldn't stay connected. Overall decent place to stay and seems to be in a good area.
Hotel was very clean and employees were very friendly and provided excellant suggestions. We especially liked having the larger suite that had a reading room separate from the other area. Lobby and breakfast area was nice.
Please read my review, disappointed in room. No hairdryer and inconvenient entry to bathroom. I have stayed in many of you hotels and was very satisfied. This room was to be a luxury suite and it was not.
This hotel is located in a very nice area for visiting Memphis. The staffing was very knowledgeable and very professional. The hotel is very well kept and the rooms clean with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was very good with many items of choice. Recommend this to everyone.
Best Western would have been a pleasant visit if there were not so many live roaches in my room in fact one of the staff members had to spray to attempt to get rid of the roaches, but some still appeared after the spray.
I have stayed months in this hotel. It has always been a pleasant stay. They staff has always responded to my request in a timely manor. From borrowing a power strip to the chair in my room. Very pleased with the treatment I receive when I stay at the Galleria Inn & Suites.
We rented three rooms and we thought everything was okay my sister went to go in her room and there were people in there hollering at us telling us that they were renting the place so that was a major Hoops when we went back down to the office to tell them that somebody was in there they had no compassion for what had happened and put us into another room when they already told us they didn't have any more rooms so it was just a mess and we felt as though their attitude was not appropriate.
Hello there, I write on behalf of my brother, George Spears, who recently had the pleasure of staying with you. He was on a "bank holiday" bus tour which included Memphis, TN. He wants to convey his thanks for such a lovely visit and congratulate the company on their fine staff. He speaks very highly of the hotel and the staff both.
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Nice hot breakfast, plenty of options! We would stay there again when traveling in the area. The front desk staff even gave us a travel guide and dinner recommendation for downtown Memphis.
Best Western Galleria Inn & Suites is a great place to stay. All front desk clerks are friendly, as is the whole staff. They have just remodeled the lobby and rooms. The owner is there most days, and is a great guy.
The A/C unit makes too much noise when it kicks on during the night when things are quite and the proximity to the interstate invites random truck and car noise. The location to restaurants is great for dining.
Great location and very comfortable. Quiet clean fabulous decor- will surprise you. Not your standard Best Western. Not really wanting to let the secret out!!! Parking can get tight but adequate. Discount was provided to nearby restaurants.
There were some really good things about this hotel and I wish I could give it a higher rating. The clerk at check-in was very helpful about changing our room. We had reserved a large King but when we got to our room, the noise from the adjacent interstate highway was really bad. No way we could sleep in that room. I went back to the desk and she moved us to a double queen suite. A real suite--with a door between living and sleeping area! The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was a little small, but more than adequate. Good pressure in the shower. Both rooms had large TV's. The one in the bedroom was as big or bigger than most hotels and the one in the living area was even larger. And both had a great picture--obviously HD. But the air conditioner situation was truly unbelievable--in both rooms. The units were the kind you would describe as a window shaker, but they were mounted in the wall--very high on the wall. Almost to the top! In the first room, I had to stand on a chair to see the thermostat, read the controls, and adjust it. There was a chair that would hold my weight, but not my 6'2", 200+ husband. And this thing was mounted so high, he couldn't reach it! In the queen suite, the unit was mounted just as high, next to one of the beds. The only way to adjust it was to stand on the bed. The compressor was very noisy, so we still didn't sleep well. For these reasons, I can't really recommend this hotel. If you are going to stay there, be sure to reserve a room on the side of the building away from the interstate!
Great Stay, Very Helpful Staff, Good Breakfast, will stay again when in the area. Room nice, comfortable etc. sdkjdf' qk;sljq'skjg ]fgb;ovjqe 'g;lwdjbv e;lo ';dklsjgd['pgijwe[gojwe[goj2e]tpj'df;lkg 'wdf;lgkd' fglkdf ;lk
This Best Western was a great place to stay. Very clean, nice location with many places to eat. Shopping mall close by. We had a King suite and it was very nice, only the bathroom was very small. We will stay there again.
My room had wiring issues. Lights, fridge, microwave flashed on and off all night. Never again. Front desk staff were mostly missing in action after dark. When you could locate them or management, they were vastly unhelpful.
They had the best looking lobby and friendly staff, but the top lock on the door was broken and there was a street light right outside the window and the curtains didn't shut so anyone outside the hotel could see you dressing and your room was fully lit all night thanks to the street light. It shines directly on the bed. Oh and my bagel was stale, but that's not a big deal
Booked directly through the front desk. Rather pricey. Very clean and modern looking. The room was great and beds were very comfortable. Over night security is present. The front desk staff is extremely helpful. The breakfast selection is very good. Many eating establishments close by. Location is close to the expressway.
This hotel is fantastic! It was nice and clean, very friendly staff, breakfast was excellent. I had a room right by an elevator and it was quiet. The only thing is if the refrigerator was a little colder, I didn't see a tem control on it. But I will definitely stay again.
This is an average hotel. It is clean and staff was very cordial and helpful, but the King room was poorly designed for a fairly new property and the AC was difficult to adjust. Bed was ok. It would depend on what other hotels you use for comparison. After nearly 30 nights on the road this year, we found this property to be average.
I really liked the suites here. Felt like we were in a good part of town. The room was clean and spacious. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Lots of parking. Seemed close to everything we wanted to do.
Located very close to the I40 exit ramp and very close to Memphis downtown area. I think it is a great hotel to take a rest from the road. My only complaint was that they for some reason they moved the bathroom sink into the outside of the bathroom which was uncommon for me.
This hotel is fantastic! Booked here due to Hilton being sold out, which is where we usually stay with our 2 toddlers and 11 year old. We were completely impressed. Mary was kind and helpful checking us in. The room was so beautiful. Clean, comfortable, quiet, with a huge 60+ flat screen in the living room. Our kids thought they were at the theatre! The beds were simply dreamy. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. The coffee was delicious. We will never stay anywhere else when we are traveling through Memphis! Thank you Best Western!
The hotel is decent but the lighting glowed like an industrial work space. There was only one small a/c for the two rooms in the suite and the bathroom was small for a suite that fits 6. The rooms never really got very cool. Just not that impressed.
We booked this property on Hotel Tonight for a last minute spontaneous trip across the river. Wasn't sure what to expect at the really good deal we booked at..however, this was one of THE cleanest hotels we have stayed at. Our room on the second floor faced the highway but was surprisingly very quiet. The decor/finishes of this property are very up to date and the nod to the Memphis scene in the photography is a nice touch. Very pleased. Staff was friendly and accomodating when we asked for extra blanket. Did not wake up in time for breakfast (so can't comment on the quality of the food) but the fact that housekeeping honored our do not disturb tag on the door allowed us to sleep in and rest quietly until time to check out. We would definitely stay here again.
This Best Western was perfect for us. The hotel was right off two main highways outside Memphis, the check in was easy, the beds were really comfortable and the breakfast was a great mixture of cold and hot fresh food that included soy and almond milk alternatives. They even sent me my favorite pillow after I'd called and asked if they'd found it, as well as a toothbrush I didn't know I'd left behind. It was nice to find a place that didn't charge extra for a fifth place for families of 5. Since we booked a few hours before we arrived we even got a last minute discount.
Best Western personnel were very professional and courteous, which I appreciate a lot! The facility has easy on-and-off and is in the center of a lot of things yet, enough distance from Memphis to keep travelers away from city traffic hassle that I avoid on my road trips.
The hotel was clean, staff friendly, rooms was excellent and close off the interstate.Would definitely choose this hotel again.Good area also.We have never had a problem with choosing Best Western as our choice of hotels!!
We had roaches in our room. We were moved into another room and their were roaches in there too. We needed extra towels in the 2nd room because it wasn't any washcloths. We were told we would have to check back in the morning because there wasn't any available. They offered for us to move again but by that time we were thinking if they are in here they are everywhere. So we searched the room all over and disinifected everywhere we could and prayed we didn't find anymore. My husband went down to talk to a manager both days but their was never one available. We were told we would have to wait til Monday. Very disappointed with the independently owned hotel. Will not be back if it is in our control.
I loved being near Wolfchase Mall, Walmart and the expressway. The breakfast was good and the hotel staff was phenomenal. The only thing missing is a pool. On site guest laundry was a pleasant surprise
everything was well worth the price. location was very convienent to shopping and reasturants were really close to the hotel. access to the interstate was very accessable. they even gave discounts to the better places to eat.
Husband and I had an overnight stay on an anniversary trip. We arrived about 3:30 and check in was a breeze. We stayed on the 4th floor on the side facing the freeway. I could hear the traffic at times but not enough to disturb my rest. This location is close to shopping and plenty of choices for dining. The lobby and the room are both upgraded and nicely appointed. We had the jacuzzi suite and the tub was REALLY NICE! Breakfast was well stocked and displayed nicely. Check out was eazy and quick. No problems this time and we plan on returning to this location many times in the future.
we found a great deal for this hotel during 4th of July weekend, could not be happier. The hotel from the outside as your typical looking hotel, but once you go inside it is very nicely decorated, with cool bright colors, very nice. The staff was very friendly at check in. The rooms look newly decorated very surprising and we really liked it. We used the gym, which was a little disappointing, the TV would get stuck on a channel and the treadmill was kind of slow and made a noise, which was OK since i had head phones on.The distance from the downtown area is around 25minutes, not to bad. My hubby tried the breakfast he said it was typical with your breads and juices and yogurt and cereal, free breakfast is always good. The area had tons of plazas near by with shopping and food choices for everyone.
This is an older hotel, but they've done a nice job updating it. Staff is nice, hotel is clean, regular rooms a bit small, but the suites are nice. Bathrooms pretty tiny, but overall I would stay here again.
This is a fairly new hotel. The lobby and rooms are very nicely decorated and quite classy. The bed was super comfortable. Only downside was ice machine not available on our floor (12th). This was a "comp" night for us as we used our BW points. We were very happy with our room and our stay.
I had a major problem with my booking through Expedia. Tina, the manager, was wonderfully gracious and supportive in helping me get it rectified. The property was pristine. The beds were comfortable, the room was modern and well-appointed. I can't say enough except that I wish we had been able to stay on longer. I will return on my next stay in Memphis.
Very pleased with our stay. Breakfast bar the best we have ever seen. They even had Almond milk!! Work out room in great shape, everything clean and working. Impressive. Rooms small but updated and very clean. Would stay again.
Stayed here a few months ago. Our room was super nice and clean. The mall was in walking distance from the hotel. Plenty of restaurants nearby as well. The staff were pleasant. I would stay here again. Highly recommended!!
I was in Memphis for a long with a friend. helping her complete arrangements for her upcoming move to Memphis. The Best Western was very comfortable. Room was clean and up to date. Beds were extremely comfortable as was the temperature. The breakfast was a little lacking; we were surprised there was no yogurt available but it was kept stocked and neat. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely return to this facility if not travelling with my dog.
We definitely recommend this hotel to all. We made this stop to visit Graceland. We were originally concerned about being too far from Graceland but the drive was not too bad and we ended up very happy we stayed here.
Huge rooms, microwave and fridge, comfy bed and pillow, no welcome gift like the other best westerns but the lady was training and maybe didn't know any better. Breakfast was ok, eggs, waffles, cereals etc. I would stay again
I totally would stay again. The hotel was very clean almost new. The luggage carts are not the traditional type but you can adapt. They are similar to airport carts with a hanging bag extension. The staff was helpful.
Stayed here 2 nights and it was ok we did have some issues. The first night we checked in and got to our room in was nice and it was clean, but when we got up the next morning and tried to take a shower we realized that the shower head was broke off inside the wall. I went down to the front desk and they were very nice about it and even moved me to another room it was a suite much bigger and nicer than the first room I had. Another issue that I had was that both mornings that I was there I was woke up to people working in the hallway outside of my rooms. The were stripping the wallpaper you would think that they would have at least waited until later in the day not at 7 am. Also the second day I found out as I left that they were cutting concrete at the back entrance. When I got to my car it was completely covered in concrete dust. The bad part is that there was dew on my car first so when the dust got on there it was on there I was not able to get it off there I had to have my car professional cleaned to get it all off. Btw I had to drive 500 miles with that partially on my windshield. If I knew that they were cutting concrete on that side I would have not parked near there but no one told me. So on the positive side the breakfast was good and the staff was friendly and helpful with my room.
Good area, lots of food choices. All staff, especially front desk were extremely knowlegeable, friendly and helpful, including trainees. Breakfast was very good, lots of choices. Rooms were roomy and queen beds were spotless and very comfortable. Entrance and lobby under upgrades so hard to comment as were not completed. Great Location, right off I40.
This hotel is nothing fancy but if you're looking for a decent place to spend the night, it was great. The front desk employees were very helpful and friendly. The location was a little difficult to find because it was behind the Firestone but fairly convenient once we found it. Breakfast left something to be desired, mainly carbs, so we went somewhere else for breakfast.
Too bad we ended with this memory of Best Western because the Best Western we stayed at in Sedona, AZ was like 'night and day' compared to this property. This was just an overnight stay at this Best Western on the east side of town (Exit 18 off I-40). The coupon was $85 (w/tax $102) for the night. Memphis adds on four taxes (state, county and two for the city). It's getting to be a real money grab for everyone. We don't think we will stay in Memphis again. Even though we were a Rewards Member we still ended up on the bottom floor facing the interstate by the ice machine. The room was the smallest we have ever seen, with the bathroom sink in the room itself. It did have a king bed, big 48" high def. TV, fridge (no freezer) and microwave. Yes, it all fit in there but the air conditioner was way up high on the wall and could barely be reached. This shouldn't be a room for a Rewards member. How can we give 3 stars??
We stayed here for three nights while visiting Memphis and loved it. It's located approximately 20-25 minutes of driving outside of central Memphis. The breakfast was plentiful and filling (breakfast is important for us since we are from Sweden after all). Apart from the usual muffins, waffles, white bread and sugary spreads there was also scrambled eggs and some meat for a more steady start of the day. Much appreciated. They were renovating when we visited, and I was initially quite sceptical of the whole place due to the looks of the top floor corridor - but our room was nice, clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. There was some road noise coming in through the AC unit but not too bothersome. Would stay again!
We come 1 or 2 times a month and the stay is always fantastic. Very clean. Great service. Room was exactly what we wanted. The breakfast is always delicious. We will stay here every time we come to Memphis , Tennessee!
My husband & I arrived in town at 12:30. I called the hotel to see if I could check in early & they said I could check in for 1:30 which was awesome. My husband & I killed time at the Galleria & arrived about 2:30. Check in was easy, hotel was still under renovation however no construction going on so there was no construction noise. We went to our room (317) but down our bags & left back out to grab a bite to eat. Was only gone about 2 hours. When we returned back to our room it had an AWFUL mildew smell that hit u as soon as u opened the door. Called the front desk several times and no one answered so I walked down to find only 1 receptionist was working so that explained why my call wasn't being answered. Once I told the clerk I needed a new room and why she replied nicely "ARE U SURE BECAUSE THE ROOMS WERE JUST RENOVATED" as if I would lie about that & we want to pack up all our belongings & move to another floor. I suggested she send someone to smell it them. She said oh no that's ok & happily gave me another room on a floor up. Only problem out of that room was a problem they all may have is the AC Unit is loud to where u have to turn the TV up in order to hear & it cuts off & back on like every 5 mins. It was so annoying until at 1 point we turned it off to be able to hear a moving we were watching but then we we're hearing interstate noise because our room was on the side of he interstate but of course that's no fault of the hotel. We had an economy King & the size is just that "economy" size not the average size King room I'm used to staying in. The room was small but nice & the bathroom is very compacted if u have hips such as myself trying to use the restroom in the small toilet space that sits between the tub and a wall. Breakfast- was average, eggs, sausage patties, pastries, waffles, cereal, juice and milk. There are some of us who like bacon so bacon would've been nice. My husband & I are Hilton members but decided to step outside our comfort zone & give Best Western a shot, not sure how I'm feeling about that.
The staff were very nice and met all requests which I sincerely appreciate, The room was very professionally cleaned and the beds and pillows were very comfortable.. The hotel is being remodel but did not interfere in our stay. IT WAS VERY QUIET on the floor I stayed. The breakfast was adequate , but the layout was a little bit confusing.
My husband and I had a great time on our "staycation" for our 5th wedding anniversary. Even though the hotel is under construction doing renovations to make it better, it's still clean and they didn't actually do any work on it while we were there, so we weren't disturbed by workers or machinery. The staff during check in was very friendly and efficient and I love the express check-out (no need to stop at the desk). Our room was very nice, cleaned well each day and the bed was comfy. Plus, the hot tub ROCKED! We will definitely be back.
The room was very clean and the beds were fairly firm (a big plus for me). I would give this place 5 stars, if only their renovation hadn't made our walk a little inconvenient. Nice place though. I recommend it!
Stayed here a few nights in May during the big wind storm. Hotel is accessed easily off the highway and in a newer area with lots of shopping and services nearby. Rooms were comfortable and we liked having the toilet/shower separate from the sink area, which had plenty of counter space. The a/c in the room was loud though. Breakfast area had enough seating for everyone while we were there and offered a good variety of hot and cold foods that were always being replenished by the staff, such as scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, waffles, yogurt, fruits, breads/pastries, juices, and even soy milk. Breakfast bar was well laid out and open until 10, which was also nice. The storm caused us to lose Wi-Fi for one day but it was up and running the next day, which was pretty good considering many homes/businesses in the area were affected for days apparently. A nice hotel overall and good value.
Would that you should, and could find your way to a stay that might one day, be for you such an opportunity to become all the more ready, should you begin to be what you might have been in the time of your last experience of such a refreshing sensation of a multitude of conditions shaping you into an icon of relaxed existence.
Hotel is under major renovation. Something the website does NOT advise you about. Hallway lights are dangling from the wall by the cord that attaches them to the electricity, smoke detectors are wrapped in plastic bags, no visible exit signs on our floor, shabby paint, missing baseboards, handwritten numbers on masking tape to indicate room numbers, etc. Not a safe or desirable situation. Manager claimed to have all the necessary permits for the work but, I didn't feel safe should there be a fire. Would not have booked a stay had I known the condition of the building. (I tried to add pics to this review but, after repeated attempts to get the review to post, I have had to remove them to see if it will now post.)
Our visit was great! The only thing missing was a swimming pool or hottub. Cleaning staff did a great job. The southern hospitality from the front desk was amazing. Great place to stay. I will definitely be back.
I stayed only 1 night but the room was quite nice with upscale furnishings and was very clean. The staff was friendly and the overall experience was quite good. The rooms really are more than what I was expecting. The only negative was the air conditioning in the room was a little loud at times.
Hotel was nice and clean staff friendly rooms great it was nice and quite beds were comfortable would definitely stay there again price was good breakfast was good and fresh hotel was easy to find loves it
When I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the young lady at the desk. I was very pleased with the beautiful décor and how extremely clean the lobby was. This hotel is tucked in the back, a true hidden gem. My room was equally very clean and beautifully decorated. The air condition system was a (remote control) wall unit, however it was very quiet and the room was very cool as I like it. Just a well kept property.
The room was good , didn't care for the out dated a/c unit or the internet service. The breakfast was good . The staff was presentable and professional. It was an ok experience. My utilities were out.
The staff was very friendly and the room we stayed in was very nice too. It is very easy to access the highway to get anywhere you want to go in Memphis in about 20-30 minutes. There are also a lot of nice places to eat very close by.
Great Room! A/.C worked well. Bed was too close to the bathroom door, hard to maneuver. Breakfast was first class. Eggs, ham waffles, bagels, yogurt bar, hot and cold cereal, fresh fruit, Yum. Coffee was great. People were very personable, especially Mamie, She is the best!
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights for the Memphis in May contest. We have stayed in Memphis a few times before but didn't realize how far from downtown we were. It took about 15 minutes which can easily be longer if you run into traffic and really for that reason if in Memphis again we will stay a lot closer but now back to the hotel review Check In: Fast and Easy . Employees were courteous Room: Bed was comfortable. Didn't hear the highway noise as it's situated right next to it. The big knock with the room was the bathroom. It had an exhaust fan but it worked horribly. Whenever getting out of the shower and bath for my wife we were not able to dry off because of the humidity. The only remedy was opening the door. In every hotel stay over the years we never ran into that problem. The bath towels remained damp and leaving them in the room before taking them into the bathroom did little to efficiently dry us off. Breakfast: Not a big selection of food but adequate. They had 2 waffle irons, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal packets, cereal, eggs and a breakfast meat along with the usual assortment of pastries, bagels... the only issue I routinely saw was the absence of an employee assigned to empty trash and clean up. Only on the morning of checkout did we see someone emptying the trash. I did take a picture of what we saw each morning. Other Observations: They had a washer and dryer located on the first floor. I believe it was $2.00 to wash and dry. They had 1 main elevator in the center of the lobby for 5 floors and another on one end of the hallway which I thought was strange. The hotel is close to a Walmart, and numerous shopping and dining options so you'll never go hungry.
We had the room with 2 queen beds and a twin. Such a neat setup! I wish they had an option of a king and twin, bc that would be ideal for us. But I loved this setup. The beds were comfortable and everyone was super nice. This will probably be our go to hotel in the area, when we come back. The prices were great, too, so that was just icing on the cake.
Great stay nice people good food spacious room comfortable beds stay here a lot on business. Keep coming back . I recommend staying here if you want a nice place to stay while you are in Memphis or close to it.
Kay checked us into our room. She was super friendly, nice, and extremely informative. Based solely on our interaction with Kay we have decided to try other Best Western hotels. The rooms were clean; the lobby was clean; the exterior was patrolled by security as well.
The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious, hot water for shower. The television was large. Even had a remote for the air conditioner. I like the new key system, makes it easy when you have your hands full.
Just passing through. Easy on/off from I-40. Hotel was very nice and room seemed freshly remodeled and modernized, but the a/c was up on the wall with button, no wall thermostat. Room was a little small, especially the sink area, but quite fine for one night passing through. One thing seemed odd (modern?) but was no problem. We had a nice king bed with 4 half sized pillows. They were ok. Breakfast is good, typical buffet offerings
My room smelled awful, when I told KAY at the front desk and she showed up with a spray bottle and acted like it didn't smell I was hoping she would give me another room but there was no offer of that, and it still smells this morning. Then last night I got up to use the restroom at midnight and roaches scattered everywhere I could only kill one but needless to say I did not sleep well for the rest of the night this was a nightmare that I paid $103 for ,never again! The only reason I gave them one star it's cuz they had my kind of hot tea.
Overall, the hotel was nice. They are in the middle of remodeling but you don't feel as if you are in the way of the workers. They parking lot entrance could use a "makeover" as well (had to play dodge with pot holes). My room in particular, the bed was NOT comfortable but we made it work. The room did however have direct tv an it was newly remodeled but there was get little walking room without hitting the bed. Other than that, it was nice and pleasant and very quiet. Miss kay and miss Mamie were very sweet and helpful. We might return.
This hotel is a good value if you are looking for a family friendly hotel in the Bartlett area. The staff are very helpful and friendly. There is some renovation going on around the main entry and in the lobby area, but it's not intrusive. The room was clean and well maintained, but the AC unit needs to be upgraded. It was noisy and didn't keep up with the humidity. The wifi was the fastest wifi that I have ever experienced in any hotel. We were happy with the standard breakfast, but the breakfast area wasn't kept clean as the morning progressed. We would stay here again.
No sink in the bathroom area. Horrible arrangement, set up of room. Breakfast was typical continental, not the best. Much better Best Western in Morristown TN. Staff was very courteous and hospitable. Otherwise not worth the money.
On a quick trip through we stayed at the Best Western in East Memphis. Clean rooms, good breakfast. They are in the middle of remodeling but they were very careful about not disturbing clientele. We were within walking distance of a restaurant.
Hotel is located at a busy intersection of Hwy 64 and I40. Traffic noise was a problem at night. The king room had just enough room in it to get around the bed. The bathroom was very small with just enough room to turn around in. We are not large people! We had requested a room on the top floor when making the reservation 2 weeks before traveling, but were put on the 3rd floor. The building has 5 floors. Air conditioner didn't work well. The room was humid even with it turned on high. This was good however to drown out the traffic noise at night. Breakfast was good-real scrambled eggs and good selection of other items. Hotel is in a safe area and parking lot was well lit. Room was clean. Would have been better to have a suite room, but then you pay more.
Clean rooms, great selection on breakfast and very friendly Staff!! There for a business trip from Pennsylvania felt like I was just home. Just couple minutes from downtown Memphis. The staff where helpful. The beds were very comfortable.
We needed a place to stay for a visit to Somerville, just East of Memphis. This hotel was very well located on the edge of the Memphis Metro area. Easy on and off of I-40 and US64. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. Many restaurants nearby.
Our room was very clean and large. There was a small room connection that had previously been a kitchenette. It was converted to a small bedroom that featured a twin size bed. so there were actually 3 beds in our room. This was especially nice since there were 3 people in our party.
I stayed at the BW in Memphis, TN (near Wolfchase). The hotel was in a good location and the staff was courteous. I stayed in a 2 Queen bed suite, and we had more than enough room!! Upon entering the room, is was VERY HOT/humid!! After turning on the fans, and turning the air down...the room was at a comfortable temperature. The beds, bathroom, etc...were all clean. The housekeeping staff was quick, very clean and prompt with adhering to my needs. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any one traveling in the area. The hot breakfast was good (many choices) and very filling.
What a lovely place to do stay. Family was comfortable and happy for our three day Memphis visit. The suite was spacious and clean. Staff was incredibly attentive and helpful. They found us disconnects for like cal dinners. This was a great place to stay!
The room was very large and extremely clean. Staff was very helpful. Would not hesitate staying at the hotel in the future.the bed was very comfortable. The walls are thin and you can hear people talking in the next room..
Miss Mamie made sure I was situated and had everything I needed. She mafe sure we were comfortable and felt at home. Anything i asked her for, she was willing to help me and i appreciate that. Thank you Miss Mamie!
I booked this stay on a Priceline or Hotwire and got it for $69 plus tax. What a value! The rooms were recently refurbished and everything was clean and new and comfortable. Beds were firm, but I slept like a log, so I think they must've been comfortable. Breakfast was one of the better buffets for this type of hotel - eggs, ham, pastries, waffles, fruit, cereals, yogurt, 2 kinds of juices, milk, coffee, and hot tea (however, all they had was decaf kinds - that was disappointing to a non-coffee drinker). Would definitely stay there again and recommend.
This is one of the nicest Best Westerns we have stayed at. I started staying at Best Westerns because we have yet to have a bad experience. We had a room on the opposite side of the freeway so I did not hear any freeway noise at all inside the hotel. I have seen other reviews say that it is in a bad neighborhood and that could not be further from the truth. This is a very nice neighborhood. The staff was extremely friendly, the room was one of the nicest I have seen and the breakfast in the morning was the perfect start to the day. We will stay again the next time we come through town.
Pleasantly surprised with the suite. Spacious for our family of six, four kids and two adults. Excellent for a one night visit while heading back to Maryland from Texas. Customer service was great. We would consider staying again.
I always stay at this BW when traveling by myself through Memphis from TN to TX. It is located near the Wolfchase Galleria Mall in a very safe location with an O'Charleys and Texas Roadhouse right next door. The staff has always been super friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable, and a great hot breakfast with alot of variety.
Service and people great; room clean but too much road noise which is not conducive to a good night's sleep! We did not try the food but they did provide a continental breakfast for their overnight guests.
Redone, modernized hotel which was a pleasure to stay. Everything was right. Cleanliness top notch. Service top notch. Good food. Everything looked new. Service good. Quiet. Forget Marriott, things being equal, this is the place to stay. Shopping and restaurants close by.
This is clean hotel that's convenient to lots of great restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed our stay but there was a weird maple syrup like smell that was in our room. Not sure if it was the air freshener or what? It was there the entire time. Other than that we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again.
Group trip of 10 visiting Memphis for the first time.Very accommodating and the price was right. Front desk and staff were very friendly and informative. Breakfast was great (variety), room was spacious and clean. In a good location near main highway for traveling to Downtown, Beale St. and near mall and restaurants. Would reccommend and visit again.
The room was large and comfortable except for the pillows, they really need replaced. The air conditioner didn't work very well as the room was hot all night. I sometimes wonder why the AC is turned off when you check in? Is it because they know it doesn't work well and by letting you turn it on in an already hot room it provides the illusion of cooling as the temps slowly drops out of the 90's to the 80's which is as low as it can go, or is it they are just lazy and providing a room with a nice temp at check in just isn't something they think is important? When you have reservations, they know you are coming....First Impressions count when opening the room door. So after spending a warm uncomfortable night we both commented on how cool the hall way was as we went to get breakfast. We decided against the breakfast as it looked Bad! The area was messy, a lot of items missing, the scrambled eggs looked dried out and the sausage in the warmer directly behind the eggs, well, looking at them all most made my stomach turn. A McDonalds drive thru down the road was 5 star in comparison. When we planned this trip we tried to book this hotel both ways but they were booked for the return trip so we were forced to stay down the street which is where we wish we would have stayed in the first place. Would we stay here again? Yep, but only if we didn't have other choices!
This is a very nice facility but built way too close to the highway. There was heavy traffic noise all night. The area looked somewhat sketchy with several failed businesses nearby. Walk to restaurants with really bad service.
Stayed at this hotel on business. The bad: Remote did not work roach crawled out from mirror Breakfast was yucky Air condition was wall unit that ran all night. Noise from interstate was loud. The good: Large flat screen tv Newly renovated rooms Bad was comfortable Employees were nice Hope to never have to stay there again but grateful for a room last night.
This hotel has been newly renovated - beautiful! Staff was very nice as was the breakfast and facilities. Very convenient to I-40 and all the restaurants were just across the street in the mall area. I highly recommend this Best Western and will definitely stay here again when I'm in the area.
Staff not very friendly except for one long dark haired girl at the front desk at checkout. Very noisy room next to us late into the night. Breakfast staff never even spoke to us, even when I spoke to her.
This hotel is not in a good place. It doesn't feel safe to walk around at night so you have to drive everywhere. However it's clean tidy and has a complimentary breakfast which was really very good. It's very noisy as it's on a very busy road. Food venues are quite far away but drivable. Staff very helpful and friendly. All in all not a bad venue but for a best western not the best. Old tired needs a full re vamp and safes put in the rooms. Not bad but overall not great either.
My family and I stayed for 4 days and enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was great and the variety of choices was icing on the cake. The receptionist at the service desk was pleasant, ladies in the dining area replaced food without anyone asking and the ladies cleaning our room was very professional. Although, we didn't take advantage of the indoor pool ( it was nice to see it) , my cousin and her husband did utilize the gym and was extremely happy with the equipment. We had no complaints with our stay and look forward to visiting again real soon.
One of the best properties I've stayed at; ever. I've been to resorts; as well as worked at properties that were no where near as nice. The room was excellent, the breakfast was amazing; both in selection and quantity. Well set up guest room, very fast internet, and plenty of towels. Beds were excellent, to the point that sleeping was easy; which I usually have issues with due to multiple back problems. One of the VERY BEST.
Best Western has really become our hotel chain of choice. We travel throughout the country and had used a competitor as our "go to" hotel in the past. Now, Best Western gets our business. The new branding and upgrading of the properties has really elevated BW hotels. This location has very comfortable beds and great linens etc. The desk clerks, Kay and Misty, were great at check in and in providing us with local information.
I had read some reviews on this hotel before booking & I'm glad I didn't listen. Our room was very spacious. Decorations were new. Our bed was very comfortable. We felt the overall appearance, inside & out, was very clean & welcoming!
We arrived tired after a 10 hour drive, compounded by rush hour traffic and construction while traveling east through Memphis. We were greeted pleasantly by the front desk associate, Kay, who had our reservation ready. We had requested a quiet room, and that is exactly what we got. Our stay at this Best Western was great in every way. Kay went out of her way to help us with every request. The breakfast was excellent. The food was well prepared and fresh. There was plenty to eat. We have stayed at this Best Western property in the past and will stay here again when traveling through Memphis.
Stayed 8 days and would stay here any time. They are just finishing a remodel and the place looks great. very friendly staff. Gas station one block away and four great restaurants just a walk away. 15 miles to Memphis airport and other attractions without being in the city.
Stayed 8 days and would stay here any time. They are just finishing a remodel and the place looks great. very friendly staff. Gas station one block away and four great restaurants just a walk away. !5 miles to Memphis airport and other attractions without being in the city.
This is a very nice hotel with friendly staff. Lady that greeted us was very kind and helpful. They were in the process of remodeling and changing out the carpeting in hallways. This surprised us since the carpeting looked brand new to us. A pleasant stay and priced very well!
The staff at the front desk were wonderful, especially Kay. Our room was perfect and we enjoyed our 2 night stay very much. Kay recommended a place for dinner that was just down the road and we are so glad that we went. The food was excellent. We were on a trip that had us staying at several Best Westerns and this was one of the best.
We chose to stop before entering the city limits of Memphis on our return trip from the Mid-West to Central Texas. However, with all the construction on I-40 East of Memphis, the next morning's traffic jam delayed our trip more than expected, but taking I-40 around the North side of Memphis was faster than we expected for the morning traffic on a Wed. This hotel is also a good overnight stop when traveling from Central Texas to the Ohio River Valley area and would avoid most of the morning traffic in Memphis when continuing the northward trip the next morning. We will keep this in mind on our next trip north from Texas.
Stayed here overnight Sept10-11 for a concert. Only a 10-15 minute drive to Beale St area. Very friendly staff. Room was very clean and comfortable. Hotel was quiet. Great breakfast in lobby. Would definitely stay again.
Wonderful experience overall. Clean environment and room. Nice breakfast with a variety of healthy options. Pleasant staff. Convenient location near highway. Definitely a joy to stay. Quality for the price you pay.
Hotel was very nice and location was perfect (restaurants, etc.). The lady at the front desk made my day after driving for 9 long hrs. She went well above her duty to make me feel at home. I would recommend this hotel for any occasion.
Second best only to the Best Western Inn & Suites in Yuma, Az. This place is as nice as they get. Planned my trip were we could spend the night in this property. Breakfast was great, the rooms were roomy and clean. Would recommend this place to anyone. Will be staying there again in December on my way to Nashville.
The staff is very friendly, the rooms and surrounding area clean and safe. Would recommend every time. Great pricing for safety. The breakfast is pretty amazing and you can make you own waffles. Kitchen staff and cleaning staff is on point. Quiet & friendly surrounding. Ms Kay was very impressive, sweet, and helpful! Definitely recommend.
like LCD flat TV, breakfast quality is good, and it opens from six to ten. Overall is good. will come back and stay again if any chance. We were changed to another room when we reported toilet not working, only took 15 minutes.
We made a roadtrip trough the south and this motel/hotel was great! Especially when you consider the amount we had to pay! The room was clean and felt "fresh", there was a big mall around the corner and memphis was "around the corner". Money well spent! jasha danki!
It is a great hotel, located near shopping and great restaurant. Staff is very friendly and helpfu. They gave information and tips about area attractions and good places to eat. My family enjoyed our stay.
Great place. Clean and friendly. Kay who checked us in was very helpful and upbeat lots of resturants nearby. Easy access to 40. One of the Best Best Western experiences we've had. The room rates were reasonable. We got a "last minute" deal which was nice.
This is an older property and it is reflected by the condition of the rooms. The A/C is wall mounted and in our room it was extremely noisy. The bathroom smelled of mildew and the bathroom vent/fan's filter was clogged and had mold contaminating it. The walls in our room needed the repainting as there were scratches where furniture had been pushed against them.
Very nice hotel for a reasonable price, staff was friendly an attentive. The hotel has a nice appearance and is kept quite well!. Bedrooms appointed nicely, bathroom was just below being excellent. Located for easy access and restaurants nearby.
Clean room, very friendly. Great value for the area! The front desk personnel was exceptional and very helpful! Rooms were updated and clean. Would definitely stay again! Ask for the coupon to save at Texas Roadhouse just down the street (within walking distance).
Check in was friendly and fast. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable with good pillows. Breakfast was above average and well stocked. Will stay here again in the future and recommend it. Good value in a nice area of town with restaurants close by
Sarah who checked us in was extremely pleasant and helpful. She gave us coupons for discounts at nearby restaurants. Also, we had the $50 reward on our phone. She took the number, but it didn't get applied. The next morning the woman at the desk (whose name I can't remember) took care of us in an extremely pleasant and helpful manner. We always go out of our way to stay at the Galleria Inn when we are passing through Memphis. We are especially fond of the wonderful beds, the decor of the hotel, and the employees who work there. Kudos to you.
after specifically asking for handicap room and then calling several times to front desk for various reasons the desk clerk handed out our room keys to someone else who entered the room once we were in for the night. terrible experience. even after we dbl locked the door the noises in the hall kept me awake wondering is someone else was going to be walking in.
The laddies that worked in the breakfast did a great job !! They actually had almond milk (GLUTEN FREE) most hotels do not offer this, it was a pleasant surprise and I thank you !! I will be visiting here again the next time I am in Memphis TN.
What a great stay! Check in was fast. My guestroom was very clean, the staff was very friendly, and the breakfast, "So much to choose from", "EXCELLENT"! Definitely recommend! Thank you for making my stay so Great!!
We stayed one night, July 21, during a heat advisory, due to a local power outage. I had to find a cool place in the area for my Mother, who is in her 80's, and myself to stay. We both have medical problems and would not be able to withstand such a lengthy power failure at home. When we arrived, there were no rooms on the first floor, but I was given a handicapped room on the 3rd floor near the elevator. We were able to get the last handicapped parking place in the lot, but it was still a long way for us to walk across the parking lot, through the lobby, up the elevator, and part way down the hall. We had been out out at a restaurant when the outage occurred, and were unprepared, without luggage, a wheelchair, or a walker with us. It might be a good idea for the hotel to have a spare wheelchair for such instances. The room was large with 2 dbl/queen beds, a large TV we didn't use, and a mini refrigerator. There was a nice hand held shower head in the tub and a handicap transfer chair in the bathroom, but we didn't use them. Maybe this was one of the recently remodeled rooms, but the hallways and lobby areas seemed dark and older looking. The room seemed clean, but was very hot. This was the night before the first 100 degree temp. of the summer. I couldn't get the room temp. cool enough for my taste. The desk clerk informed me how to work the remote control for the older looking wall unit, but it was still hot, so I tossed and turned all night. We went down to the free breakfast in the lobby the next morning. At this time, fortunately, the elevator was working. The breakfast was mediocre at best. Not the best quality food and beverages, and not many options either. The worst thing about the stay and main reason for the 2 star rating was at checkout, we had to come down from the 3rd floor, and the elevator was broken. It was taped off with yellow tape. I have breathing problems and my Mother has serious mobility issues. We had to walk to the end of the hall and DOWN THE STAIRS from the 3rd floor. It was very unsafe and difficult to get my Mother down those stairs. A guest who observed us ran to get a chair to put on one of the landings to allow her to rest mid-way. By the time we got down to the lobby, we were both exhausted, and I was having trouble breathing. The stairwell was very hot, and insects were observed there as well. I informed the desk clerk about how upset I was that we had this experience. Although restitution was made, I will look for a safer and more comfortable place to stay should we experience another power outage.
This hotel was clean and modern. It is in a safe area north of Memphis and close to the highway. Check-in staff was very friendly and able to help us with dinner selections. This hotel does not have a pool which is something that I failed to notice.
From check in to check out, everything was great. I highly recommend. The breakfast was high quality, and the offerings was good. The hotel staff was friendly and professional, and overall the entire stay was pleasant. The room was pleasant and the area was awesome! Other hotels in the area want too much. Best Western was reasonably price and the service was great.
Leslie, the manager, went out of her way to resolve a small issue about room not completely ready on arrival. I was impressed with her willingness to accommodate us and the staff's helpfullness on a hot and muggy day. Best Western is lucky to have such good people working for them.
We chose this hotel because it was only 1 of 2 under $100 for the night. Comared to other higher priced hotels in the area, we found this to be an outstanding value. The rooms were clean, breakfast was fresh and hot and the girls at the front desk were super friendly and outgoing!
We stayed here for the Fourth of July weekend with other Family members and was greatly surprised at the wonderful staff and the cleanliness of the place. Love the decor and great breakfast!! Conveniently located to all the shopping needs (Mall, Ross, Marshall's, ect... ) and easy access to the interstate!! Perfect location! Definitely stay here again when coming through Memphis!
Went for a family visit found the location and staff perfect. My room was very clean with a huge 50 inch TV!! They were doing update loved the new furniture and carpet, can't wait to go back and see all the new changes. We will def be back!!!!!!!!!!!!
we stayed in 4 BW in 6 days and this was by far the smallest room and the most expensive in a not so good part of town we will not probably be back to memphis but if we are we wont be staying here. I am sure there are other BW'S in Memphis
We stayed at this hotel as an over night stop. I was disappointed that this was a 3 star with a price tag to match. It is more of 1 star in my opinion. Our room was tiny, the bath tub was so dirty and grungy my one year old wouldn't get it in. The only good thing was the check in lady was nice. Would not recommend or stay again. I am happy i did not see roaches, but wouldnt have been surprised if I did. Rip off. I have stayed in nicer hotels for less money.
I booked several guestrooms for my family reunion here. Newly renovation in process; new carpet/curtains, furniture, 50-inch flat screen T.V.'s. Our rooms already had the new stuff. Me and my family really enjoyed ourselves. Especially the complimentary hot breakfast and the fast Wi-Fi. Your staff was awesome and very welcoming when we arrived. Thank you for making my family reunion a success.
Nice room with a new TV, microwave and mini-fridge. We were disappointed that there was no swimming pool at this hotel. There is a exercise facility available. There was a good selection for breakfast.
Had stayed at this BW a couple years ago and said I would never come back. Well we are in day 2 of a two week motorcycle trip it was late and we needed a BW on our route so ended up here again. It was expensive for the small room. Check I was good very sweet lady. Room was clean, very small, and AC made noise all night. Breakfast has lots of choices and room as clean this stay. They are suppose to be remodeling to be a BW Plus hope the rooms are bigger.
This building is far too outdated to still be in operation. On top of that, is clearly poorly managed. Aside from the building reeking of cigarette smoke, the rooms are tiny and seem to have not been taken care or or maintained in the least since the last time this place was "redone". There were huge stains all over the floor in my room. The shower was moldy and the light flickered. And the cherry on top....after sleeping in the bed all night, when I peeled back the covers to get out, I found an old dried-up eye contact in the bed. And I do not wear contacts!!! Which means I was sleeping in someone else's dirty sheets!! Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. Also there wasn't even a fitted sheet on the bed, only two regular sheets. I wanted to go by the front desk and demand my money be returned, but I honestly just wanted to get out of the there and never come back so I didn't bother.
The staff was absolutely delightful and helpful at the front desk. The location was our main reason for staying here. We wanted quick access to downtown the next morning because we were only staying in town one night and then heading out. Breakfast was a nice treat for my kids. Having chocolate chips for the waffles and pancakes in addition to flavored batter was delightful. My kids were very happy about it. I did feel like the prices were high but it is probably due to location and our summer timing.
Rooms smelled like urine/ towels smelled like urine/ front staff was not helpful, they screwed up so many reservations for my daughters wedding this past weekend. Ashamed I booked there. They over booked this. Had two wedding groups, 1 softball group and family reunion of 200 or more. Unbelievable to book this in Jan 2016 and have so many problems. NO management on site. Management was sick til Tues. we had a huge crisis on Sat. May 28th, front staff had no one to call. My wedding party were checking in from 2-4 Sat May 28th, and their rooms "were not ready and didn't know when they would be ready". Unbelievable. I stayed 4 nights, thankfully to adjust to the ugliness of the whole situation and smooth things over for the family. Please don't stay there- RUN...if you have a special anything you need accommodations for. There are plenty of other motels in Germantown to stay in that would be cleaner and employees would be better to work with.
I go to Memphis often and this is my only choice to stay at. The staff are always wonderful and hospitable. Sometimes I get to the hotel before check-in time and usually tell the attendant I just want to check-in but not go to the room then but they always accommodate me and find me a room that is clean and ready. That is going the extra mile. Thank you.
My family and I just left this hotel visiting for a high school graduation over the weekend and the entire stay was ruined this morning because a huge roach decided to visit the room my sister and I were in. It went from the fridge to under one of the beds. We decided to check out and upon us preparing to leave it crawled from under the bed onto the wall then the curtain. I was able to get a picture for proof. Besides the bug in our room being a disappointment, when I let the person at the front desk know, I don't recall her apologizing or anything. She said she would write it down and let somebody know. This was a very disappointing experience with the stay and with the service.
The Inn was clean enough, just a little ragged and needs an update in the room, especially for the price. Breakfast for very good and there was plenty of different breakfast items to choose from. The wall unit AC kept the bedroom cool but didn't transfer over to the first room which was a kitchen/living room.
overall pleased. Great area 25 min. from downtown Memphis. Everything you would need 5min. from the hotel. Local highways to downtown Memphis never have to get on the interstate. Checkout the drive-in movies off hwy 64.
My husband and I stayed here for a week. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. Our room was very clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. Breakfast was decent. My only frustration was with the WI-FI. It was very intermittent and slow. Overall, it was a nice hotel.
Great stay in Memphis for work. Hotel had recent 'facelift' but didn't go all the way- so a little strange decorating style however, staff was fantastic, rooms were clean, and tidy, and excellent location for ease to/fro my needs.
I have stayed at this location numerous time, and this is the first time I have encounter a small roach in the bathroom. I usually stay in a suite, but this time it was just my son and me traveling. I travel to Memphis to take of my mother once a month and I thought that this Best Western was going to be the hotel I would use every time I travel, I am not sure now. I have stayed in several Best Westerns in the surrounding areas; I did not like the location of one, and the one in Mississippi, my tennis shoes was stolen. It looks like I am going to have to find another best western for the month of June.
Great Place, Great Location, Great Staff We enjoyed our overnight visit here! We were greeted by excited employees and they were helpful in guiding us through our points reward system. Local restaurants and gas stations were clean and had friendly staff. We were comfortable in our surroundings.
Our room was nice had some bug issues need to work on a better breakfast the room rate was a little high motel was kind of outdated the staff was friendly and helpful with whatever we needed!! I've had stayed at many hotels and I was disappointed in this one!!
Beds are comfortable, hotel is clean, right next to the highway and convenient for travelers. If you are headed east it is at the end of the Memphis area, so you can avoid most of the Memphis traffic.
This is an older hotel and although the suite is spacious, it is dark as the only sunlight comes in the bedroom window. The only A/C is a wall unit in the bedroom and I don't know how it will do in the heat of the summer but, was adequate for this time of year. The breakfast was average and the staff was hurried and inattentive.
This is a splendid hotel. Clean, quiet, large rooms, accommodating staff, and convenient with location on Hwy 64. Stayed "going and coming" on business trip to Kingsport, TN. A truly great value both times.
We very much enjoyed our stay at The Best Western Galleria & Suites in Memphis. Our room was a Lil small but the Whirlpool definitely made up for it! The air conditioner was a window unit in the wall, but it got nice a cool in there so no complaints there. The bed was amazingly comfortable and I would love to have one in my home, and the Whirlpool... lol.... the staff were all very nice and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel to any and every body!
We have stayed at this inn twice before, but this time when we requested a king bed, which request was filled, the king bed was in a studio room which made for a very crowded room. We would suggest that you mention this when booking. Otherwise, the room was satisfactory, clean, and well appointed. The in-room internet worked well and breakfast was extensive.
Very clean and nice property. Full breakfast daily. Lobby area very clean and tidy. Front desk staff helpful and nice. Room was clean. Daily housekeeping with fresh towels, bed was made daily. Microwave, fridge in room. Close to many restaurants and shopping. Just wish they had a shuttle from the airport.
We stayed one night in a suite that had 2 Queen beds with television and bathroom in one room and couch hide a bed chair desk in desperate room with another television. Room was clean and modern although couch showed quite a bit of wear. It was nice having a separate living areas . Staff was friendly . I think the room was worth price charged.
Very nice room and pleasant staff. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast had ample selections for everyone. Hotel was located in an area with restaurants and stores. The only thing I would mention is to get a room away from the highway. Several times I woke up to sirens and truck traffic. Otherwise, I would definitely stay here again.
Good hotel for the price. Hotel staff was pleasant and accommodating. The king suite was a great size. Room decor could have been a bit better but it was nice to have a refrigerator and microwave available. The only downside to the room was the air conditioning. Every time it kicked on it made a really loud noise which took a bit to get used to. Breakfast offering was your standard eggs, ham, waffles, cereals, yogurts, and pastries. There's only one elevator and it isn't the speediest but that wasn't enough to deter us from staying there again.
Hotel was fine but freeway noise can be heard from inside the room. Also if you want a bathroom sink its on the OUTSIDE of your bathroom. Bed is not comfortable. Free breakfast wasn't anything but cereal or eggs...not much variety.
While this is a nice hotel on its exterior and the staff members are very helpful, we encountered green mold on the ceilings of three different rooms on the top floor of this building. Until management has legitimately fixed this problem, I would not recommend that people select this hotel. In other ways, this hotel is great.
The hotel staff was kind and considerate. Our room was clean. It was not too big and not too small. The hotel has easy access to and from the highway. There is a restaurant within walking distance. It was a modest price for a modest stay.
My preferred hotel for the Galleria area was sold out, so I had to research a ton to find a place that would meet my needs without breaking the bank. I require a clean room with no insects, free parking, free wi-fi, and free breakfast. All of those requirements were met. Location was good, a bit awkward to actually get to the hotel property, but that's not too uncommon with hotels close to interstates it seems. Room was fine. Nothing special. I did like the quality of the towels. There was significant outside noise which I was able to almost completely drown out by keeping the a/c fan running (thanks to other reviewers for that tip!). There was also significant inside noise that was harder to drown out. I was on the first floor, so perhaps there was more traffic in my hallways than would be on other levels. The wi-fi worked, but was a bit spotty. Fine for checking email, facebook, etc, but not for gaming. Breakfast was disappointing. Looked like a decent spread, but it just wasn't very good. They had a few types of cereal--didn't try them. Pastries that looked like the ones from Sams Club--I tried one danish, it was fresh but cold. 3 types of bagels. Toast that was just bad--don't ask me how you mess up toast, but they did. 2 waffle irons--best thing there was waffles. Eggs were runny and flavorless. Sausage patties were available too, didn't try them. There were also a couple of fresh fruits, yogurt, coffee...sounds impressive to read but it just wasn't. No one in this hotel made an effort to be friendly, to greet guests, to say good morning...those little things that can really make your day, especially as a solo traveller. I would stay here again for the right price, but I would consider this hotel to be "acceptable" not "exceptional".
From check in to check out, this was a great place to stay. Room was very clean and well maintained and the bed was comfortable. Like other reviews mentioned, there was some freeway noise. We had asked for a room away from the freeway side, but we checked in late and there weren't any available. Breakfast was the usual but good. We will stay here again next time we pass through Memphis. Hotel does employ a security guard and we liked that.
I actually work for a Best Western Plus. This is by far one of the best I have ever been to. Front desk Margaret was awesome with such a wonderful checkin and so very friendly. The room was perfect we got a double Queen suite very large beds and very comfortable, towels were large and great too. Service did a good job. Breakfast was good French Toast great idea. All the decor was up to date. No noise at all in our room we were on the top floor. Overall Very Pleased with our stay.
Staying here overnight on my way to Nashville. I don't expect to get ANY sleep, the I-40 traffic is EXCRUCIATINGLY loud. Ridiculous. They are full and cannot move me to another room. Room is clean, but small and very basic. AND NOISY!!
I loved our stay. we arrived very late and the staff was wonderful. we were welcomed and into our rooms within minutes. and then the surprise: we got into our room and the tv was BIG. I mean I don't need to wear my glasses in bed to see the screen big. our beds and pillow were awesome and we slept very well.
This hotel is great. Comfort. Clean. TINA is great. Not pet friendly unfortunately. I have service dog so it allowed by law but still discomfort around guests and staff not expecting dog or respecting what service animal means. Ignore the dog, people. No dog whistles. Bed lush. Very quiet. Breakfast substantial. Traffic noise can be drowned out by heater. Very nice place.
Room was clean and spacious. Bed was Very uncomfortable. Sheets kept coming off the bed, the pillows were the smallest and most uncomfortable pillows I have ever laid on. There was also a TON OF highway noise. Staff was very nice at check in .
Hotel is nice enough, staff was great, room looked clean. We went out to dinner, when we returned the sink had 7-10 tiny roaches in it. Hard to feel warm and cozy in bed after that. Got up in the night and turned on the bathroom light and same little bugs. There are many hotels nearby, i would look elsewhere.
Loved the overall stay, staff were great and helpful. Enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was tasty, loved the waffles. It was also very close to shopping and the mall, and dining. This hotel is in a great location. Looking forward to visiting again.
We thought the accommodations were very nice quality and especially enjoyed the hot, free breakfast. There is quite a bit of highway traffic noise but we turned our room fan on low and it was perfect.
We are members of the Best Western Loyalty Club so always reserve at these hotels during a long trip. This hotel is conveniently located off the main highway and close to amenities and shopping. However, the rooms are very tired and definitely need an upgrade. We were upgraded to a suite upon arrival but its layout was very non-functional. There was an unpleasant food odour in the third floor hallway suggesting that there may be long term tenants who cook meals in their rooms.
The first clue to a potential problem is that it is not an easy straight forward entrance for Jill the GPS to find. We could see the hotel, but it took a couple of tries to find how to get to it. The location is good near the interstate, but bad that it is so close to the interstate going into Memphis and near an exit. We checked in and went to our room. We had reserved a Jacuzzi suite, but we found ourselves in a room with just enough room to walk around the bed, incredibly noisy from the interstate, but didn't see a jacuzzi. I tried calling to find put about jacuzzi, but phone was not hooked up. I went back down to the lobby and asked front desk about jacuzzi. Front dest clerk said there was an opening in the wall by bed, and that others have had same issue of not seeing the jacuzzi. Sure enough, there was an opening in the wall on the far side of the bed to a nice jacuzzi. Problem, did I mention the highway noise? I went to the front desk and was told the Jacuzzi suites were all on the interstate side. Oh, well. I called Best Western to suggest that they needed to warn travelers about the noise, they asked if we were offered another room- no, so they called and spoke to management, and said that we could move to another room with no jacuzzi. Leslie, the manager on duty, was nice and upraded us to a king suite at no extra charge. We moved to a king suite. We had a large living room, decent size bedroom and an incredibly small, but functional bathroom. Have I mentioned noise? The rooms on the other side of motel are off a very busy state/county/city highway with the interstate exit and many people going back and forth trying to figure out how to get to the Best Western. The HVAC unit is incredibly loud and overhead, so hard to operate even though there is a remote because the controls are overhead and out of sight. Did I mention noisy? But not noisy eneough to cover all the highway noise. The bed was confortable. The room and furnishings seemed tired and the carpet suggested that you shouldn't walk barefoot on it. The bathroom was spotless. The vent in the bathroom was very noisy. Noise=bad night's sleep. We will not go back.
Our stay was pleasant and restful. The morning breakfast was nice with hot and cold items. The room was clean and the shower was one of the best I have used. This hotel is located by the interstate so ask for a room on the side away. This was where we were located and there was no noise issues as in other post for this location. Shopping, restaurants, and entertainment are all close by.
I have stayed at this hotel many times. It is close to I 40 with many choices of places to eat near by. Motor cycle friendly. Breakfast bar is always fresh and tended to regularly. Bathrooms have been recently remodeled.
The room we were put in was next to a freeway. It sounded like we were next to a racetrack. By the time we got to bed, and realized it was so noisy, I was too tired to pack things up, and try to get moved to the opposite side of the motel. We got maybe 2 hours sleep, due to the noise. The motel was not that full, and there were plenty of rooms away from the freeway, but they stuck us next to the noise.
The hotel is pretty close to the interstate, so you can hear it a lot. Also, the ice machine was beeping constantly down the hallway, which you could hear in the room. When I called the front desk about it, they just said "Oh yeah it does that." "No it probably won't stop." "No we wont do anything to fix it." I think someone finally got fed up and unplugged it because when I went to get ice, it wasn't plugged in. Breakfast area wasn't very clean either. Also, the A/C unit was very loud and you could hear water dripping constantly.
Reserved the room thru Trip Advisor as we we not arriving until very late on a holiday weekend. Check in was quick, the rooms were large and clean, both rooms were handicap / wheelchair accessible. Breakfast was ok, enough to get you started for the day. All in all a nice stay in a clean environment!!
The hotel is conveniently located to the Bartlett (east Memphis) area, it was clean and the lady at the front desk showed us favor in making an adjustment in our room accomodations (last minute change from a king bed to 2 doubles).
I stayed at the Best Western Galleria in Memphis during my trip there for Thanksgiving. The property is right off the expressway and near shopping and restaurants . The hotel is very clean and well kept. The landscaping is immaculate. The desk staff was helpful and friendly. The hot breakfast was well prepared.
Obviously, it used to be another hotel brand. Check-in lady was VERY unhelpful, borderline rude. Beds were uncomfortable. Breakfast lady was nicest person at this hotel. She was helpful. I requested room on top floor which was ignored; however, was given room on top floor when I told her I had requested it!
The beds and pillows were comfortable, but the air conditioning unit was noisy and awkwardly placed high on the outside wall, where the cool air blew strongly on one of the beds. The sink and bath/toilet facilities were separate, which we liked, simplifying the morning routine for the four of us. There was an alcove in our room with a chaise in it, which our teenage daughters thought was very cool. The furniture and amenities seemed clean and relatively new and we felt secure and comfortable in our room. Breakfast was really nice, with plenty of choices including French toast and eggs. We appreciated that there were plenty of tables for breakfast seating.
This hotel was conveniently located near downtown and the expressway. The hotel was very clean. the breakfast was pleasantly displayed and tasty with healthy alternatives. The staff was nice & helpful.
Reserve a double queen mobility room on the ground floor upon arrival front desk-clerk was rude. We were put on the fourth floor and upon exiting the elevator it's melt very musty. The room was very musty and the air-conditioner was a window unit that kept shutting off. I called down to the desk and requested another room the clerk was a rude and told me to come back down and she would she could do (with the smirk in her voice). When I get to the desk she keeps rolling her eyes. When I asked if there was another Best Western in the area very rudely she told me you would have to call to see if they had a room. This will be the very last attempt to stay at a best Western. You would think they would treat a customer who's been with them for over 20 years better than this.
Parking was horrible. I had to park in the grass on the first night. Had to park down the block with no security lighting on the next night. The hotel staff did not care about my concerns. The "free" internet did not work most of the time. I finally got my ipad to connect and then it was very slow. The breakfast is not as good as what I have experienced in other hotels. The lay-out is not good and the food quality is mediocre.
Terrible road noise from the interstate 40. It is so loud I could not sleep. I spent so much money and could not get a good night sleep at this hotel. This was a horrible experience. I do not recommend anyone stay here.
I travel every weekend for work so as you can imagine I stand a lot of hotels. This best Western has had the best service, the biggest, cleanest, and best room, I have stayed in so far. I will be returning to a best Western every opportunity that I get.
We truly enjoyed everything about this location. We met friends here who had children with them and they had a suite and we enjoyed time in their suite as well as our king none smoking room. This hotel is smoke free and we loved that.
When you enter the lobby it is quite nice. The room we had was not in keeping with the lobby. It was quite small and the sink wasn't even in the bathroom. The A/C was a small wall unit up near the ceiling that was controlled by a remote. It was quite noisy every time it came on and off. The mattress was okay and the towels seemed discolored. The breakfast was your average hotel fare but I was quite pleased that there was skim milk since most hotels do not offer that. The staff at the front desk was friendly.
Everything that you need – friendly staff, clean rooms, very comfortable beds, good shower and most importantly when travelling – high speed internet. Good basic breakfast with decent coffee. We booked this hotel due to the location to the Galleria Mall – unfortunately we arrived too late and had to leave early the next morning to shop here.
Nice place to stay... Good people and close to where you can go shopping.. walking distance to the mall and restaurant...and also had alot of variety for breakfast... I will recommend this place. Also had security to watch outside the building.
This hotel is lovely. The staff that I met was not what I expected though. When asked about a TV Guide a bit if sarcasm was include in her answer. Not at all what I expected. Other than that the hotel was fine.
Best Western Galleria Inn & Suites, Memphis, Tennessee makes one feel welcomed and at home. Utmost gracious hosts with professional and courteous staff at every level. Their exemplary Southern hospitality guarantees will recommend booking a stay at Best Western Galleria Inn & Suites, Memphis, Tennessee to all our family and friends!
Best Western ended up being our most frequent hotel during our 10 day trip across Kentucky and Tennessee as their pricing and TripAdvisor reviews were so good. We found this hotel to be comfortable and clean with the usual amenities found at most Best Westerns. Friendly front desk personnel, nice amenities in the rooms and most important-clean hotel and rooms and a safe area in which to stay. The usual breakfast is served but this hotel had a very convenient and non-congested area for breakfast.
Nice property but a little more effort to notify guests when the elevator quit would have been nice. Protein in the breakfast selections would also push this property up. I really like the motorcycle parking out front, shame cars used up some of the spaces.
Temp control....you need to be a tall person or risk standing on a chair with wheels to regulate. I'm 5'6" and had difficulty reaching the a/c unit and it's controls as it is placed high up on the wall. Add to that the fact the unit blows air right on your faces as you sleep. Some people might like that, but it is very drying. Also, there is no a/c or heat unit in the sitting room. So if someone is sleeping in there, it could get stuffy unless you leave the bedroom door open. Cleanliness/Comfort.....aside from the toilet seat that needed to be replaced (stained and not secured tightly), the room was clean. But I suggest the hotel invest in real bottom sheets instead of using flat sheets for bottom sheets...they bunch up. Spaciousness....the sitting room section of the suite is huge in comparison to the king bedroom. The bathroom is tiny; two people cannot fit in there at one time. Fridge and microwave with counter is nice to have and this separates the sitting area from the bedroom/bathroom. Internet was slow to non-existent at night, but early AM it worked fine. Breakfast was you standard fare.
The carpet is horrible and the lighting in room is extremely dark. maybe to hid the dirty floors in the room. the breakfast is okay if you like spam and eggs. the staff is great and the location is great if on a vacation . You are in the middle of everything from shopping to eating out.
