SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Auburn, Auburn

We were in town for my son's basketball tournament. Very nice hotel and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, and the check in and out process was very smooth. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was a very clean and quaint hotel, just what our family needed. Even though we were in the area for a sad occasion the staff made us feel right at home. One of the best things I liked about the hotel was it is only a two story hotel with some of the older style woodworking (or so it seemed to me). The front entryway has 4 stairs to walk up to a beautiful oval windowed entry door. On the outside of the entryway there are two separated closed in porches, one for smoking and one non smoking. The vegetation at the entryway gives a feeling of being in a country like setting even though the building itself sist in a mall area. Wonderful idea! Clean rooms and helpful staff will make me want to come back to the area.

Broken tv remote, coffee maker heated water, did not dispense, jets in tub broken, all non essential. In the AM when toilet overflowed, and flooded the Bathroom, that was the deal breaker. Reported to desk, unable to shower before we had to leave. One person operation doesn't cut it. Never again.they were busy fixing the oj machine.

Hubby and I drive a truck were helping at a Walmart on a dedicated run to Michigan everyday..we take a break and this hotel is perfecr.I Its quaint its homey and the rooms are huge and bed is so comfy.the breakfast is good and they have afternoon cookies not the cheap ones but otis spunkmyer, the check in was easy and every staff member we came across was super nice and they have a wrap around screened porch..I love this hotel and we will be back in a few weeks..Thank you so much Shane & Dana Shoemaker

We love the large rooms and the bed/bedding is so comfortable. When we want to do a last minute trip close to home, this is our go-to!!

Formerly the Auburn Inn, Best Western has kept the beautiful woodwork that adds so much charm to the property. The large lobby offers a sitting area for groups to gather and plan their day or share their adventures. The room was spacious and clean with a microwave and mini 'fridge. Plenty of free on property parking. The fitness room has limited equipment. Our first encounter with a Sure Stay did not leave a good impression but this property is absolutely gorgeous and immaculate. I will definitely stay here again when in the area.

This hotel is a great value! It's inexpensive, clean, and located conveniently off the highway near restaurants and stores in Auburn. We stay here whenever we come to the area. The only problem we've experienced was that our room's cooling system did not work well during our last visit. At checkout, we did notice several new air conditioners in boxes...So hopefully this issue will be resolved.

This has not been our experience in the many times past, but this time: Not up to COVID protocols either. Room was dirty around edges, toilet was still very dirty from previous visitors. Minimal breakfast was unappetizing, could have offered healthier pigs choices, Security doors didn't lock. Breakfast staff spent most of time w/her phone.

This hotel and staff were great. They pay attention to the little details that make a stay great. From all-day available coffee, to the screened in porch, and the available afternoon cookies, the amenities were wonderful. Also, the free breakfast was hot, plentiful, and delicious. The best breakfast I've had at a hotel since the pandemic started.

The motel exceeded our expectation. The bed was comfortable so we slept well. The room had a microwave and a refrigerator which we didn't end up using. There was a variety of items to choose from for breakfast and we left full. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Nice clean hotel and very helpful staff. Booked our room on the official website, for some reason it sent the hotel incorrect information. There were 3 of us and they had us in a single bed room. Alysa worked for 20 minutes to shuffle things to get us a room with 2 beds. It was difficult for her because they and every hotel was at capacity due to the county fair. She went above and beyond to make it work

I/we have stayed at this hotel several times when it was the Auburn Inn. The character of the large lobby is appealing, along with the covered porches (when someone is not out there smoking). My non-smoking room was indeed non-smoking. Their basic breakfast was just that, but ample. The luggage cart is almost useless as there are steps from the driveway into the hotel, and there are no automatic doors. The only realistic option is to use the side door at the end of the building. I also cleaned the AC filters in the shower - they were filthy. Staff told me they were cleaned more often during the height of COVID, but it was obvious these were not cleaned in months.

We just checked in. Lobby is beautiful. It is hard to find. The reviews are inflated. I'm not sure where these people have stayed. This is gross. See the attached photos. Mold and holes in the wall in the bathroom. The amount of dirt on the floor and door is scary.

The hotel is a little hard to find (it's behind other buildings), but it's worth it. Designed to look like an old fashioned inn, though built only about 40 years ago, it has a pretty, wooded lobby and a couple of screened in porches. The rooms are nothing fancy, but perfectly fine, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom/shower works well. Breakfast is nothing fancy, but there was enough variety to make it work (good coffee, too).

My room was really clean, including the carpet. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. The lobby is kind of cute, too. It has an old time charm about it. The lady at the front desk was polite and it didn't take long to get a room. Only con is that the parking isn't great. However, if you're hungry, there's plenty of places nearby to grab some food and there's a Walmart next door.☺️

I was impressed when we first walked in. The lobby is beautiful - lots of classic woodwork, and a cozy seating area around a fireplace. I know it might not be everyone's thing; but I liked the fact that they had open Bibles on two of the side tables. If that's not something you like they can be ignored, but I thought it was a nice touch. To either side of the front entrance are screened in porches, with a table and four rocking chairs each. One is smoking, one is non-smoking. We were hanging out in the non-smoking porch last night, and couldn't notice the smoke from the other side.... Our room was large and clean, and our king bed was very comfortable. There is a breakfast buffet in the mornings. I look forward to staying here again when we're in the area. ( If I was pressed to find something negative I would mention the fact that the tub/shower was more slippery on the bottom than I was comfortable with.... It isn't something that would stop me from staying again, or from recommending it to everyone. I recommend that you take in the great car museums in town, as well.

we have stayed there now four times and will go back again when in town. Staff is excellent service as well. Would go back again when in town. Screened in patio is a big plus. Restaurants close by as well as Walmart.

The hotel has lots of charms. Feels like a quaint little bed and breakfast. Had breakfast every morning on the screened in porch. Rooms were clean and fairly updated. The only complaint we had was the fan only button on the air unit didn't work and the toilet was loose on the floor. It shifted under any weight. Also, the bathroom fan did not work. Compared to the over all stay though those were very minor things. The staff over all was very friendly, the rooms were clean and well maintained, the hotel in general was clean and well maintained, and the bed and breakfast feel was a wonderful experience.

Very impressed with the cleanliness of this reconditioned property. Very large and updated room. It had one of the BEST window A/C operation I have had in 10 years!! No noise, automatic and kept room cool. Limited Breakfast, but adequate. Excellent Coffee, Juices, Waffles and misc. Local relatives visited who had not seen this property & were impressed with the style, decor and cleanliness. Excellent staff BUT, short staffed. GREAT bed,TV....

This facility is older but has been maintained and was vary clean. Room had better and more bath towels than most hotels costing more per night. This hotel meet and exceeded all of our needs at an extremely reasonable price

When I arrived, check in was fast and the guy at the desk was friendly. The hotel was very clean and organized. I enjoyed my stay. Upon checking out the lady was very nice. I would definitely stay there again!

The lobby is an old timey theme and very welcoming. Room was clean, looked very nice and well stocked with towels. The evening clerk was very nice and helped me with any problem. I would have no problem recommending others to stay here sight unseen.

This hotel is local for us, about 10 miles from home, but I wish I could find more like it when traveling. We stayed when our water heater went out before a holiday weekend and we wanted a place to take a nice hot shower. It is a nice, safe location with ample parking, and an easy walk without crossing traffic to Culver's, Arby's and Aldi. Within about a half mile there are at least a dozen fast food chains, as well as Cebollas and Jalapeños Mexican restaurants, Oriental Gourmet, Oriental Buffet (they do carry out) and Salvatori's Italian restaurants. It is also very close to Walmart, Kroger, Dollar Tree and CVS. The room was pretty big, with a comfortable bed, refrigerator and microwave. The sink was outside the toilet/shower area. There was plenty of water pressure. Everything was clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly. We felt it was a good deal for the price range and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we need a hotel in the area. Be advised, there are 3 steps up from parking to lobby entrance, although there is a buzzer to notify them if the steps are a problem. Maybe there is another door without steps, I didn't ask. If steps are a problem, I would recommend contacting the property. The only thing I would change is that the bathtub floor was a little slippery, though certainly not the worst I've encountered in a hotel. There was a large towel rack/handrail in the shower. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and felt that this motel was a good value for the price.

This hotel reminds you of a small town ski resort with it comfy sitting areas and fireplace. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The modified breakfast was hot and tasty with eggs sausage and biscuits.

I flew into Fort Wayne to pick up a truck I bought on the Internet. Mechanical issues necessitated on overnight stay. Checked Trip Advisor and landed here. The hotel was built in the early 80's with early twentieth century decor focus around the Auburn car history. Hallways are well lit, doors have modern cars touch electronic locks. Rooms are large, spacious and accommodating with ample work desk, refrigerator and microwave. King rooms have comfy chair and ottoman, double queen does not. LG big screen had plenty of premium channels. AC was package unit that was quiet and efficient. Rooms were clean, beds and pillows very comfortable. Bathroom also very clean. I did request a different room as the base of the TV in the first room was broken. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Joined the Best Western club and got $6 reduction on room price. For $59, I haven't found a better value in all my travels. As a matter of full disclosure, I do not have any connection to this hotel or Best Western or any employees;

Selected this hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews. It's over rated! Older facility with local decor which is neat. Have two nice screened in front porches to relax. Hotel is not ADA compliant. Two steps up to get into the lobby, and no elevator to reach second floor. For young healthy people, not a problem. For senior citizens with arthritis, not a good choice. Large rooms, clean, comfortable. Did not get to shower in the morning - control knob fell off in my hands - should have checked it when we checked into the room. Could have got a different room at that point. Surprised with good breakfast during Covid - hot breakfast served by staff, cafeteria style. Dining area was tight - we weren't six feet apart.

The old Auburn Inn still has the class of its prime. Our king room was a great value, very clean, and offered a great night's sleep. (The only negative: while it was very clean, the shower/tub could use some attention with a little paint & plaster.)The COVID-19 breakfast was good with several options available. We will stay again!

This hotel is one of the best I have stayed in that is lower priced. The lobby has a very homey feel with screened in porch and rocking chairs. Breakfast was yummy and had quite the selection. They also have a very nice outdoor pool. The pool area was extremely clean! This will always be my hotel of choice when visiting the area.

everything was great from the room to the outside screened-in patios, which is a great plus for the hotel. Lots of places to eat near-by stores Walmart all with-in walking distance. Will stay there again when in town again.

This was my second time staying here. It's a new BW property and very nice indeed. Very clean and socially distanced for COVID times. The room was very clean as were the common areas. The free breakfast was abbreviated but very nice just the same. I will stay here again when I come to Auburn.

Lovely place with old school charm but modern conveniences. Lots of hot water. Room was very clean. Bed was rock solid, just how I like tham. Quiet. Some highway nouise as it is a few hunderd yards away but I use earplugs so no prob for me. Great staff.

This hotel is awesome! Angelica was the front desk clerk when I checked in and she had just made cookies! YES! You get afternoon warm, fresh cookies here! Angelica is very pleasant and capable and was helpful to me during my stay - great personality, always cheerful. My room was a King room on the first floor. It was well appointed, the bed was comfortable, the internet worked flawlessly, there were a lot of TV stations, I never ran out of hot water, the breakfast was good each day with many selections of both hot and cold foods, fruit, yogurt, etc. as well as bagels, muffins, pastries, eggs, biscuits & gravy, make your own waffles, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. It was always clean and items were always fresh. This location is close to just about everything! You can walk to Applebee's or Culver's, Walmart or Aldi. The microwave and fridge were helpful when I grocery-shopped for supper instead of eating in a restaurant. Note: the fridge has a small freezer at the top - I say this only because some hotels don't have that, and this one does. It helped me freeze my ice-packs for my cooler to travel with. Even though you are close to so many things, my room was very quiet. Tip: being a security expert, if you have a first floor or ground floor room always make sure that your windows are locked before you go to sleep or leave the room with valuables in it! I had a ground floor room and had no problems and this is a very safe area, don't get me wrong, but as a woman travelling alone and having been in the security business I mention this so that other travelers are aware. Everyone on staff that I encountered was very nice. The hotel has a home-like feel to it with a screened porch and games like checkers available and also a fireplace and a sitting area in the lobby. Very nice.

Great comfort and convenience. My second stay and I'll always stay here when in the area. This older facility is completely update with HD tv, USB ports and a nice breakfast. Close to I-69 and my business calls.

For our 54th wedding anniversary we enjoyed our stay at the Sure stay Plus Best Western Hotel while checking out the Auto Museums in Auburn Indiana. There was a fire going in the fireplace in the main lobby that made our registration all the more enjoyable. Our room was clean and very comfortable. We were given quite a few options from their breakfast bar. We would love to come back in the summertime and enjoy one of their front porches or their outdoor pool.

Older but well maintained & clean motel. Breakfast was standard Best Western items but more than enough for a great start to our day. We would stay here again-great value & close to the venues we wanted to visit.

Good-value, clean, breakfast and location. Needs improvement-breakfast variety (has several choices but if you're there for extended stay, it's the same thing every morning. If sleeping on the right or North wing, be ready for traffic noise.

Nicest lobby I've ever seen at this price point. All staff members helpful and courteous. Great location. Some issues with the HVAC unit, which I reported to management ... the unit would randomly switch itself to AC mode. Not nice in December!

Stayed here over 25 years ago when it was the Auburn Inn. So happy to see it's kept the local feel. Homey and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Auburn area. Good location.

I really enjoyed the 1 night here check in easy and quick. The room a king size bed which was super comfortable I had a great nights sleep you have the usual flat screen tv microwave fridge etc free wifi which I didn't use. Breakfast was nice the standard best western plenty and quality from waffles toast bagels to hot sausage egg biscuit etc. They do have a gym with 2 machines didn't use.

I love this motel I stay here every chance I get and always have enjoyed it. The breakfast bar is great and the food taste great as well I have no complaints with any of my stays and I have passed it on

Don't pass over this small-name hotel by Best Western. Quiet, perfect location, large rooms, large lobby, screened porches. Adequate breakfast. Very comfortable stay. We'll be back for next year's Great Lakes Game convention

I book this room as a one night stop over of a 10 day trip. 50th anniversary, first night out, wanted it to be nice so I booked this room based on the web site. When we arrived we had trouble finding it because the sign was covered up. The hotel had been sold. We couldn't get in the front door because it was blocked off. The lobby was tore up. I understand it was going thru a remodel but I booked this hotel from their website as the "Auburn Inn". "Historic and Elegant", boy was I in for a surprise. Old is not historic. I booked it on the phone so I actually talked to them. No one told us the name had changed, the lobby was torn up, the carpet had been removed from the stairs. We stayed in a construction zone. and no elevator. I'm dragging my bags up a stairway where the carpet is mostly gone. The room was well below what we expected. credit card machine didn't work at check in. Just totally disappointed. The rate was reasonable but we sure didn't get our monies worth. Came back down to ask for recommendations to a restaraunt. No one was there except some construction workers that didn't speak english. Could not find anyone at 6:00pm

This is an older hotel. It is being updated and the lobby and screened porches are attractive. DO NOT book this hotel through a booking site. Call direct for the best rates (the web site link does not work). The staff is friendly and accommodating. Although surrounded by newer hotels and businesses, we would defintely book again.

The property and staff are first class. I could not ask for a better stay. Clean modern efficient first class staff and best of all a GREAT NIGHTS SLEEP. I've stayed in hotels three times this price and have not received the level of service and comfort as I did at this location

This hotel has ornate wood paneling from at least 60 years ago in the main lobby. Staff were friendly and helpful. It is located only about a mile from downtown Auburn and 1.5 mile from the Auburn Cord Duesenberg automobile museum. The only drawback for me was its location next to the interstate and some road noise at night.

I had booked a double queen room but was given a king with a little love seat. My 12 year old is 5'10 so that would not work. When we went back to the desk there were several excuses before she finally admitted that there was a correct room available and could stay. I almost moved on. Beds were comfortable. I don't know about breakfast because I missed it.

Stayed here a single night and enjoyed our stay, including being offered homemade cookies at the front desk by a friendly clerk. The interior of the hotel is quite nice and seemed almost plush, with a round couch in the main lobby and screened verandas on either side of the main entrance to the lobby. Our king room was clean, quiet and comfortable and just a few steps from the lobby. The free breakfast was a nice bonus that we enjoyed. My only small complaint was that I had trouble adjusting the shower, which assaulted me with such a force that the streams of water felt like tiny knives. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay.

We stay 3 night at the Auburn Inn. great service, nice helpful staff, good breakfast. Double queen. great rustic style. easy parking. Centrall location easy drive toAuburn Cord Duesenburg Museum. The National Auto Truck is behind ACD Museum too. less than 2 miles away.

The off-season rates are amazing for a hotel with beautiful woodwork, antique wall paper and a screened in porch. Plus a wonderful breakfast is included with eggs, breakfast meats plus biscuits and gravy. Very impressive!

I thought from the other reviews that with the screened in porches, that this hotel would be in a picturesque setting - but no it is in a store parking lot. Our greeting was from someone who hated their job. There was no workout area and the breakfast was substandard for this class of a hotel. Everything was clean though.
