While the hotel is well located, it was missing something pretty basic—heat. It seems this hotel gets its heat from a central municipal source. For whatever reason, the heat had not yet been turned on the day I arrived. It went to below freezing outside that night. I was not forewarned. Nor provided extra blankets. I slept in my clothes under the heavy comforter. I went down to the front desk and asked for a space heater—they had none available. While I guess this is normal procedure in this city since the locals did not seem to be bothered, I would have hoped for more sympathy from the staff. Fortunately, the heat was on the next day. The housekeeper skipped my room after the first night but did show up the following day. When in a foreign country I don't expect many English language TV channels. This hotel had 1, EuroSport, which seemed dedicated to English billiards. There were plenty of outlets, but no dedicated charging ports. Not a problem since I always travel with my own. The room itself was typical in size for this price range, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well equipped with excellent hot water. It could have used a bit more counter space. The included breakfast was plentiful if unimaginative.
the experience at hotel has been good, centrally located. good breakfast x variety and quality. Only I would suggest that person at reception will have knolodges of the town and of computer. At check in long wait , the Lady was not able to print a map etc.
Our room was large and clean, stuff was friendly and nice. Perhaps the hotel needs to be refurbished, but in general it is good. The best thing about it is location, because it is at a five-minute walk from Bayterek Tower. Breakfast is OK, but it may be improved.
The rooms in the hotel ar okay, but the staff is not okay. If you ask a question they pretend not to speak English, laugh at guests, talk in Kazakh or Russian in order to make sure you don't understand them. It feels niet comfortable. The staff of the restaurant is polite and friendly. Services announced on the website are not free of charge.
We stayed for two nights. In general it's a positive experience The location is good. It's very close to major attractions and there are plenty of restaurants around We also like their breakfast. They have pretty good selection. Room is standard and not much to highlight. The wall is a bit thin. Someone on our floor snoozed the alarm for an hour and we were awaken by it in the early morning
Very nice hotel in a very good location. Rooms are well appointed and it is directly next to Baiterek Tower. Astana is not a good walking city due to the sights being so spread out, which we did not realize, so having that main square adjacent was nice to be able to walk around.
Atmosphere was quiet good, breakfast too. The most important for me is bed and bathroom, they were good. Clearly, beautiful, convenient. Great location. I think I'll can be back one more time to this hotel with pleasure. Nice personal and interior.
I stayed two nights in the hotel and I found the room in line with the cheap price applied (40 euro). The check in took too much time being only one person dedicated at the reception (with a queue of two or 3 persons, we had to wait for more than 20 minutes. Breakfast is poor and just for locals: no salame or Ham from pig, no international cheese, no croissant, no fruits. If instead you like kasha, samsa or onion the breakfast is perfect. Service does not exist, personnel is not trained and one day I had my breakfast into the salad's table because the staff did not clean the tables (they work really slowly in a room with not so many tables) Frankly speaking, if you have problems with money you can stay there (the level of guests is mainly people from villages) otherwise you should not trust the brand “best western” because the hotel is quite far from western standards.
You get everything you need on an excellent location for a reasonable price. Very nice an clean rooms in a sufficient equipped Hotel. Nice gym area. What makes the hotel outstanding is the excellent and very friendly staff. Especially Mr. Sohan Singh, who is omnipresent with his very friendly personality and great hospitality. We can highly recommend this place.
Good hotel located near the Presidential Palace. Ideal for exploring the city from. Rooms ok, though slightly dated. Rush hour traffic could be heard in the morning with an alarm clock of honking horns. Breakfast nice with fair selection. Staff friendly enough. If booking Taxi's be warned they take a while to come! Overall a decent hotel.
Centrally located, easy to walk to all Astana tourist attractions including Presidential Palace and Bayterek Tower Price is low, room was fine and comfortable. Breakfast was ok though food didn't seem to be kept terribly warm
It is an excellent hotel to stay in Astana. Very nice rooms, quiet, convenient location, there is a trading center close to the hotel. Decent breakfast, very good choice make no problems for several days staying. It has a very, very good gym with all the machines you can think. Staff is very friendly, check in/out was very fast. The team from the hotel is very efficient and friendly, such as the case of Evgeniya and Negima at the front desk. I would be happy to stay there again.
Stayed two nights in Astana. We arrived on an early flight and had quite a few hours to go until check in. Since we were so tired we asked for early check in which was charged at $25 usd. It was well worth it as we were able to get breakfast as well. Breakfast is comprehensive including different eggs, bread, savory and sweet pastries and fresh fruit. There are also lots of breakfast meats made from chicken and beef which was great. The rooms are clean and spacious with a great shower. Amenities included bathrobes, slippers and the usual toiletries. Bottled water was replaced daily. The location is great as it is close to the main square with fountains and an easy walk to dinner places. We also walked across the bridge to the national museum, palace of peace and reconciliation and mosque (~40 min walk) Overall we had a great stay here and would definitely recommend it. Sohan was constantly on hand and very helpful
Well located, room looked decent on check-in. Rationed toiletries, coffee and tea would have been fine if leaving the green please clean my room signed had worked. It didn't so then you have to chase it up or do without. Wifi was unreliable. The lifts are too small, slow and miss floors no matter how often you press the buttons, particularly annoying when your keycard keeps deactivating. And trying the stairs I ended up in the kitchen, lost on the 2nd floor and clambering over what looked like new room doors left in the stairwell. Oh, and on checkin I was allocated a room that was still in use and had a man's luggage in it! Breakfast was ok, the staff thete helpful but the breakfast room is low ceilinged and unappealing. The room had it's own thermostat controlling temperature but a note on it said not to make any changes!?
The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed have real cotton sheets, very clean and crisp. Mattress was good and relaxing. The shower was modern and new. The breakfast was very good. The hotel people very nice and attentive. The hotel room has a view of one of the golden towers and the government building. Windows are modern, so noise from the street does not get into the rooms.
Visited Nur-Sultan for an international conference and stayed at Hotel Best western Plus for 6 nights. Great location ! Quiet room, clean room, non smoking. Great breakfast ! Great deal ! 133700 KZT for 6 nights (350 USD). To be improved : No international TV channel. Will come back with great pleasure !
Very friendly and clean hotel. It´s main advantage is its excellent location. It is in walk distance to the Bayterek Tower, Presidential Palace or Khan Shatyr shoping centre. In addition, a bus stop very close to the hotel. Friendly staff, willing to advise or help. For breakfast limited choice, but when staying less than 3 - 4 days completely sufficient.
Visited Astana for the football match between Kazakhstan and Scotland. Best Western Plus Astana located in the central business district, a few minute walk from Bayterek Tower and the Presidential Palace, and a central location in a somewhat spread out city. Staff were friendly, and barman kept the bar open late for us! Room itself was very spacious and very clean. Great choice for breakfast. Can't complain, and was fantastic value for money, and would be top of the list if visiting Astana (Nur-Sultan) any time in the future.
The service is good and the room is clean, it's a good hotel. The breakfast is delisious, if there are more chinese salat will be better. Actully people here are friendly. Thanks for the good service and help.
We stayed here for the Kazakhstan v Scotland match earlier in March. The hotel was everything we hoped it would be. Clean, tidy, good sized rooms and bathrooms with good food for breakfast and although I didn't have dinner any evening, they even put food on for us when we came back from the match nearer midnight. I have to mention the owner/franchise holder/manager or whatever the title of Sohan Singh is. He was there till the minute the bar closed and we went to bed (4am I think) and was back at breakfast to greet us at 10am, but he could have been there since breafast opened for all I know. This happened every night we were there. He must have been running on empty and deserves a huge bonus for looking after us. The only time I didn't see him was when we left at 5am for the airport. What a guy. Thank you Sohan!
Had a four night stay at the Best Western plus and the experience was well above expectation. All the staff greet you with a smile and will go the extra mile to help guests. Nothing is a problem. The staff were welcoming and courteous. Especially the assistant GM Sansa Singh who demonstrated extraordinary customer care. He literally seemed to be around 24/7 - at breakfast, in the dining room and at the bar and always willing to help. Plenty of choice at breakfast and a good choice of tasty food on the dining menu. Location is ideal as a base. I found the hotel staff indicative of the people of Astana - warm, friendly and welcoming. I didn't book a taxi from airport in advance and was faced with the quite often usual scene at airports of drivers wanting extortionate fares. So would advise pre booking a transfer with hotel.
You ll see from a map that this is very centrally located. 2 minutes walk from the Presidential Palace and thus very close to the main drag leading through central Astana. You can walk to any of the sites you d want to see. The Opera house is for example about 30 minutes away on foot. The rooms are a good size and spotlessly clean, with great beds and good bathrooms. Wifi is fast , free and reliable. There is a very serviceable gym with 4 cardio machines and some decent free weights and benches. Space for stretching too. Breakfast is functional, although the coffee is very good. It is a buffet style affair that is not in relative terms as good as the rest of the hotel. Having good hot porridge though is a good start to the day when it is minus 15 C outside. All the hotel staff seemed to speak English and were very helpful indeed. They can fix airport transfers in advance if you require it and their car service was excellent. If you want a safe, smart hotel but without paying the relatively higher rates of some of the big chains here, then you cant go wrong with this place.
This is a reasonable hotel. But the thing that makes it really outstanding is the people. From the moment I checked in until the time I checked out (late) I experienced nothing but the very kindest and best service. The food in the ground floor restaurant is very good. The breakfast rather "so so" frankly and the rooms a little overheated for my taste in the middle of a Kazakhstan winter. The bar is good and the location is fine. But the people make it. I found that the people I dealt with in Astana from a hospitality perspective were all very good. But these guys at the Best Western Plus were the best. Highly recommended.
I used to stay at this hotel during my business trips. Good breakfast, nice staff, comfortable bed and excellent location near must visit places. If you will come to this hotel, try to choose yard view rooms. They offer transfer service, but never used.
I have stayed at this hotel before as is in a good location near my customers offices. The rooms are very good western standard with good WiFi. You can't charge meals in restaurant to your room so have credit card or cash. Also best to know a little Russian as even with pictures on menu they can still lead to confusion. The temperature dropped to -15c from zero in one day so bring hat, gloves and jacket as it's cold. Also the footpaths are all very sloppy... watch out for marble floors as mixed with water they are ice rinks! Very interesting city
Stayed here for 2 nights. Arrived by taxi from the airport, hotel was easily located. Hotel receptionists were friendly and spoke Russian and a few English phrases. Rooms were immaculate and I can't fault them, even providing a view of the twin golden towers. The hotel is located near many restaurants and close to the Bayterek Tower as well as the Presidential Palace. Like Astana on a whole, the hotel was very quiet, practically empty. Therefore breakfast was very personalised with the chef and hotel manager specifically bringing us Kazakh dishes to try. Their restaurant was also good to on those commonly rainy days with everything from pizza to Chinese, our meals once more being personalised by the hotel manager. If you're coming to Astana, I can definitely recommend this hotel.
An excellent hotel in downtown Astana, close to the major attractions, plus restaurants, shops, nightlife, etc. Room was well appointed, with all necessary amenities, very comfortable bed and wifi. I would like to have control of room temperature, which is controlled by a hotel central air conditioning system. Breakfast was high quality, as well as dishes at the restaurant during dinner time, Staff at the reception were excellent, they arranged an airport pickup during early morning hours, noticed my room preference for a high floor with a view, plus were able to accommodate a late checkout request, Also, being a tourist from Brazil during first visit to the city, reception staff were very attentive and provided tourist guides and maps plus recommendations, also directions for services and made me feel safe and welcomed. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Astana for business or leisure.
This is a great hotel, and doesn't fit the usual image of a Best Western in the US; it is much more luxurious, and would be closer to a Hilton in the US. Not only are the rooms spacious and gorgeous (I was upgraded, so my room was gigantic, and had a couch and two chairs, a desk, and a large bed - and still plenty of space to walk around), but the service is warm, friendly, and accomodating - and you may find the hotel management roaming the breakfast room, and checking to see if everything is to your satisfaction, which is nice to see.
Good hotel with clean rooms, good breakfast and friendly service, but the best thing is the location, just steps away from the photogenic Nurzhol Boulevard. Wifi slowed down a bit in the evenings when too many people were on it, but it was fast all other times of day. Good, reasonably priced option overall.
You've got all you need: great service, location, new and modern rooms. Room was spacious and nice soft mattress, pillows were to hard but it could be just me. I've tried some things in the restaurant and everything was delicious, very fast room service. Note: Complementary toiletries would be a good gesture. And make sure that dishes served for breakfast are hot, not just warm.
I am unsure how this hotel compares to other hotels in the area for the same price. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable (pillows a little hard but that's personal preference), the bathroom was clean as well. The hotel staff were pleasant and helped us book taxi's and who I believe to be the manager was extremely friendly. Now for some of the poorer parts... No shampoo or shower gel in the room (might not usually be an issue but I decided to not take any on this trip as most hotels seem to provide this), TV decided to stop working (yes a minor inconvenience), the food at dinner time was nice I had a pizza but at the evening the menu doesn't fit the style of the establishment. It's all very mixed up and confusing, the starter/appetiser came with friends so I was starting to get full by the end of that and then it took a very long time for the main to arrive. The chicken seemed like it was from frozen/processed as it was quite chewy for me the restaurant brings the hotel down and we ate out the second night. So the rooms are tidy and clean and staff are friendly and welcoming! If there was a 3.5 star option I'd give it that.
Stayed here twice, one night each when passing through Astana. Great location in that many of the sights in the main central area are within walking distance. Due to all the one-way roads, it is a bit tricky for taxis to find their way here, though! Service staff are very eager to help and speak excellent English. Rooms are well furnished and clean. Overall a good place to stay at a reasonable price, especially given the central location in a world capital.
Very good service, convenient location, my room was not noisy and I had a good sleep. Restaurant is good too. I would stay again, like the hotel. I only wish there would be a way to make it warmer at night. It was a very cold September and the heating doesn't work around this time, usually it starts in October.
Close to all the sights in Astana with very clean and comfortable rooms. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shops near by. Very central to explore this lovely and very interesting city. The restaurant serves a wide variety of excellent neals. Well stocked bar with Kazakh and international drinks and cocktails.
Location: Excellent location. Easy navigate around town. Near the Bayterek Tower. Staff: Manager is number One. Staff will help you always by smiling. Breakfast: Hot food was Not hot even sometimes warm. Yack. Bar: Nice place to take beer or two. Very limited selection alcohol and wines. Room: Good size. You have to start ac by yourself when you check inn. Window was open and that was impossible close 100 % - so you hear outside noisy very clearly. Comeback: Maybe
It's been my second stay in this hotel. And again I had the most pleasant impression. Good location, nice comfortable modern rooms, very good breakfast. But the best thing is the perfect staff and the management of the hotel. These people do everything to make their guests feel like home. Small things matter - so this is attention, care and support in every little thing! Thank you! Highly recommended hotel!!
PLUS - very good location - nice & helpful stuff - good breakfast - great room - comfortable bed - clean & tidy - good pressure of water at the shower MINUS - no regional Kazakh dishes in hotel's restaurant
The Best Western Plus Astana turned out to be one of the best hotel choices I've ever made. The facilities are very comfortable, including in-room coffee-maker. The location is wonderful--near the Bayterek Monument, Presidential Palace and many sights every tourist wants to see--but the best part were the personnel serving and managing the hotel. When we had to buy new airline tickets to return to Almaty for our Lufthansa connecting flight home,(SCAT Airlines cancelled our flight) the manager sent one of his desk clerks with us to the Air Astana office so we would not get lost. When we checked out and drove off in a taxi, the manager himself carried our luggage to the waiting vehicle and saw us off! and it wasn't because there was no one else there to do the job. He is just a very friendly person who does everything he can to make sure his guests are enjoying their stay. I can't say enough good things about this hotel! They even let us stay in our room eight hours over check-out time without additional charge. Everything was clean and they served a very complete hot breakfast with many choices in the buffet offered.
Good enough, fair price, decent breakfast. Large room, inconsistent made service, few western TV channels. Good location near presidential palace. Bar was good and does serve food also. Would stay again.
Astana is a very well organised city. The hotel's location is just next to the ministrial complex. The bed and mattress meet the expectations. Staff is very helpful. The only problem I have was the transfer from airport to the hotel. Even though they promised to arrange the transfer, there was no one waiting in the airport.
We stayed at this hotell for three nights. The location was god, helpful staff, and nice rooms! The food was only so so, but we would defently stay her again Very friendly and helpful staf Many of the city's top sights nearby!
Great locations near The Bayterek Tower and Nurzhol Boulevard. Nice people and my special thanks to Sohan who guided me around the city. Rohan sent me to the third floor to an amazing massage, better then in China, thank you Sohan. Good breakfast, fine bed and a lot of space in my room. I was pleased about my choice, staying to Best Western.
Very conveniently located, close to all Ministries and round the corner from the Bayterek Tower, this hotel is perfect for short and long stays. Rooms are spacious and very clean (I had one 8th floor). The restaurant is indeed very good. The hotel manager is very professional and knows how to solve any issue and how to treat guests. Definitely I recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to spend some time in Astana.
Stayed in Best Western Plus while travelling for work. Was very impressed for the price I paid - clean, comfortable room. Hotel is directly opposite the "House of Ministries" building, and a short stroll from Baiterek Tower. Absolutely fantastic reception staff, who were friendly and polite, but also relatively efficient.
I stayed here for about 4 weeks early this year and I thought it was incredibly good value for money. I did get a particularly good deal for a long-term stay, but even so, it really was excellent. The staff were lovely and helpful and made my stay very pleasant. The hotel has a good restaurant (with a range of European and Asian dishes) and gym, so even when outside temperatures were as low as -40C and I was stuck indoors, it wasn't a problem. Reading other people's comments, I can only assume they have improved the breakfast radically, because I thought there was a very good range of food - fresh fruit and vegetables, cereals, yoghurts and usually a choice of omelettes, sausages, pastries, pancakes and eggs cooked to order - and it got even better when they got a new coffee machine! I'll definitely be back. :-)
Our stay very nice in this hotel. The staff was very nice and always with a smile. Very helpful and effective receptionist and an ubiquitous Indian manager full of energy. The hotel is brand new and the housekeeping is quick and effective.
Spent 3 nights here on a business trip. The check-in was swift and so was the check-out. Breakfast is very very minimal, I just had cereal with hot milk because there was barely a small counter for veggies and maybe 3-4 options of hot dishes. It's a very basic kinda service for what you pay for. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfy, those are the only best things to say really. Service in general was good and prompt, no complaints there. The only very bad thing was the internet, don't even try to connect or log in. It's very slow and the 4G connection from your phone is faster so if you need to do some hefty work then forget it. Also, local telecom companies won't allow your iPhone to make a hotspot connection either so watch out for that too. All in all, the hotel has good location but not luxurious in any way. Staff was always friendly.
The room is spacious and well made up. The bathroom is also great! An ideal location if you want to stay in the new city, a stone's throw from the Bayterek. The in-house restaurant on the ground floor is also good, with delicious affordable neo-Chinese cuisine. The breakfast buffet needs serious help, it was awful... Best Western Plus need to focus on this as it's the last experience a person remembers when leaving the hotel.
I have stayed in this hotel from 11/10 to 15/10 room 609 . I arrived around 1130 pm and the chk in was a zip . my room was facing the main road with the govt building and president"s palace across the street . room was very quiet and I slept very good . I went to breakfast which was included and I found it disappointing, poor selection and unappealing display . they didn't have any fresh breakfast rolls or baguettes like other hotels, only black or white bread and a very slow toaster . they had some yogurts and less than average pastries. other con was the tv which has only Russian channels without a single English channel !! considering that the hotel belongs to an intnl chain this is unacceptable and can be remedied easily by the hotel . the hotel best asset is the staff I would like to note yulia and rushan that were great , always smiling , very helpful with advise and always give you the feeling you are most welcome !!!! kudos for great service !! I ordered a car to the airport the cost was 11$ very reasonable and the driver was on time . the location is a big plus few minutes walk from bayterek tower and other attractions. the cost per night was 62$ which is cheap , so overall not bad !
Good location in the center of the city, while comming for business you have a chance to see major sites of Astana as they are in close proximity. Check-in was very fast and friendly, staff was very helpful during 3 day stay. Good breakfast, you can find pretty much everything you need. Room very clean and cosy, I pre-requested for the better view and got the room. Good work for House-keeping, no issues. While its already cold in Astana after hard day wasn't really looking for surving the city res taurants, so requested a traditional food in the restaurant and did not regret. In general good stay, and would definetely book again for the next visit.
