We stayed in a king, very clean, very roomy. Hotel remodeled after Covid. Room had all the amenities you expect. Awesome breakfast. Friendly staff. Very affordable rate. Our third stay here, always great. Within walking distance to restaurants and a sports bar.
Great bed. Walk in shower and its very close to the Ashland Town Center mall. Across the street is a Flea Market. Very nice employees. Enjoyed the unplanned stay because of storms. The employees were very nice. The room was on the top floor three floors in the building and had a view I could see what was around the area since I was unfamiliar. It was unplanned due to bad thunderstorms but nice size king room and again so many places to eat walking distance and even a flea market across the street.
The hotel has been newly renovated, reopened in March. I had previously stayed here and could tell the improvements. The staff is very friendly. The hot breakfast was good with many options, something for everyone. When in town, I would stay again.
What a pleasant experience we had! Clean rooms, comfy beds and great updated bathrooms! The pool wasn't open but we don't use that anyways.
I arrived in the early afternoon- Was greeted by the friendly receptionist and went to my room. My room smelled nice as that was something I worried about with some of the reviews I read here. There was also a couple restaurants within walking distance which I found super convenient. There was a nice sitting area outdoors and plenty of well lit parking. My bed was comfortable and I had a great nights sleep! Thank you Best Western River Cities for a great stay!
We were only there for one night but enjoyed our stay. It's close enough to local amenities but yet nice and quiet and peaceful. The staff are top notch and helpful and the place is nice and clean and updated.
Stayed 2 nights in your Corbin location and 1 in Ashland. Both stays were positive experiences. Would highly recommend either. Convenient to restaurants and shopping. Clean, excellent breakfast bar, courteous employees, comfortable beds and internet service.
Recently stayed at this "recently remodeled" location for an event. The gentleman at check in was very nice and the lobby was clean. Not long after arriving in our room, we discovered that the AC unit was not functioning properly. We booked this king room several months ago. After calling the front desk, we were told that there were no other king rooms available and that maintenance would not be available until the next day. We had to leave our stuff in the king room and sleep in a smaller room for the first night. Maintenance took care of the unit the following morning. We went back to our king room for the remainder of our stay. We could hear doors being slammed all around us for the 4 days and 3 nights we were there. We could also hear people walking around and stomping on the hallway above us. While housekeeping did leave us fresh towels in a bag outside of our room, they did not clean our room or remove trash for the duration of our stay. On the last day there, our thermostat stopped working. The lady that took care of breakfast was super sweet and they did have a nice breakfast layout. When we checked out, our total was higher than what was booked on the BW website. The lady at the desk at checkout said there was nothing she could do about it. I have reached out to the manager three times to rectify the situation, but nobody has bothered getting back with me. Doubt I will ever stay there again. Has the potential to be a nice place.
I couldn't have been more comfortable staying away from my family than they made me at the two rivers Best Western!! I hope to take my family back to show them how comfortable I was ,so they don't worry about me when I'm on the road
Love staying at this hotel. Rooms are always clean. Staff has always been friendly and professional. Breakfast is amazing with quality and options of items. Lots of restaurants close for different choices for food. Highly recommend
This hotel is adequate. It was not especially clean. The host made a point of telling me it was a non-smoking facility. But, I smelled cigarette smoke strongly throughout our stay. Don;t expect much from the free breakfast.
Wanted to stay near I-64. This was a little bit away from the highway but was worth the trip. Reasonably price, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. Was only here for one night but would stay again if the need would arise.
We had a great overnight stay on our family trip. Very friendly staff. Room (Queen suite) was very large and clean. Breakfast the next morning was well stocked. Pet friendly too. Excellent stay at an excellent rate. I would definitely stay at Rivers City the next time I am in Ashland.
A very nice place to stay with a really friendly staff. It has a lot of shopping and dining options. Its a quiet area also where the hotel is located. Ashland mall is also one mile away. And there is a flea market across the street.
We stayed here on our way home from Wisconsin because of the good reviews, but we were disappointed. The hotel has a 'depressing' feel about it. The furnishings are dated and there is poor lighting throughout. It seemed like everywhere we went there was not enough light. The room was spacious, but very dated. It was odd that there was a 'sitting area' with a recliner, but there was a floor lamp by the desk instead of by the recliner so you couldn't really relax and read in the recliner because you couldn't see. The color scheme in the rooms and hallways is very dark (brown tones) so along with the dim lighting did not make for a pleasant environment. I will have to say that the front desk staff who checked us out was very helpful and courteous. There was a problem with our bill--the staff who checked is in 'charged' the $60 in gift cards to the room instead of 'crediting' them. The gentleman at the desk was very apologetic and quickly corrected the bill.
Great customer service and very clean hotel room. Room was perfect and the atmosphere was awesome. Front desk clerk was very helpful. Hot shower clean towels soft bed good cable tv. Needed a room no reservation but they took great care of us.
Rooms were clean, service was great. Breakfast is really good. And it's close to several restaurants and shopping locations. Pool was relaxing. Grandkids fell asleep soon after they got out. I highly recommend this location.
We were traveling with our new baby and needed to rest and get some sleep. They were very accommodating with booking us to a room away from any other patrons. Baby slept a solid 7 hours! Breakfast was hot and made fresh.
Great staff very friendly. Room was very clean. Great breakfast even with Covid limitations. Would definitely recommend this hotel since it was affordable and comfortable. Great location with many restaurants nearby.
Staff is on the ball and quick to solve any/all problems. Location is very convenient and facility for pets is good Staff available anytime for any problem/concerns. Due to covid, cannot honestly evaluate breakfast
This hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff was super friendly. We're used to our memory foam mattress at home and this spring mattress was not very comfortable. It was too firm for us but the pillows were super fluffy and comfy.
The maid service was horrible, I had to ask for my towels to be changed, I had to ask for the trash to be taken care of , and I had to ask for my sheets to be changed. I complained about the noises and no one would help or listen.
Great and affordable place to stay. Clean, comfortable and very quiet location. Breakfast not available because of the virus, but they did offer to go breakfast and coffee. I would stay here again instead of Ashland.
This hotel is the best ive ever stayed at. The guy at the front desk was super nice. He helped us with direction where we needed to go. The cleaning ladies came around to make sure we had everything we needed. This hotel is highly recommended if you will be staying in the area. Super clean hotel.
We stayed here in March and it was pretty warm outside. When we got to the room it was clean and nice but it was very very hot in there. So I went to turn the ac on but it wouldn't work. So we called the front desk and asked for a fan or fix the ac. They said there was no fans and they lock the ac out till spring. So we had to sleep in a sweat box all night. Was not happy at all. Won't go there again.
Check in was painless. Staff was very friendly and helpful with the surrounding area. My room was nice, clean and everything worked. There were plenty of options at breakfast and was prepared nicely. Will definitely be staying at this location again the next time i am in the area.
Check-in was fast. Room was clean. Comfortable beds. Shower was good. I did not have the breakfast.Had to leave before the 6am start time. Will stay here again when I go back to Ashland,Ky..The gentleman who was at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.
I really recommend this hotel if you are staying near Ironton OH. The breakfast is great a lot to choose from and very filling. I try every time to stay at this location. Food and stores are in walking distance if you need anything. The beds are comfortable and I always have a good night sleep.
Stayed here while visiting the Ironton Wizard Festival. The staff was great, the breakfast had a wide variety of items, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We were able to get an early check in when I just went in to ask if we could leave our car as we were meeting up with family in the area.
If you have ever been to Ashland, Ky looking for a decent /. affordable hotel near the downtown area, you probably had no luck, But if you go a few miles north on US 23, you will discover this hotel and be pleasantly surprise. I recommend this location to all travelers, the staff is very accommodating, the check in / out very quick, lobby, / rooms very clean, the business office has all the office needs, vendors machines are stocked and breakfast is well done. Also there are restaurants close by.
Staff was very friendly and professional. The room was nice and clean and decor was fine. My favorite part of the stay was their big variety breakfast. The breakfast was included with my stay and I was pleasantly surprised at the large variety. Breakfast was delicious and the kitchen staff was on top of everything to make sure we didn't run out. I liked how the dining room stayed clean. For the price I paid for my stay it was one of the best breakfast at a hotel. The only thing to be aware of is that my bathroom did not have an overhead fan to turn on while bathing. Don't know why it wasn't created in the bathroom but it's not a big deal to me. Great value for the price I paid for my stay. I stayed at the Ashland KY by River Cities location.
This hotel is very clean and in a great location. Cant beat the staff here. Rooms are quiet and breakfast was very tasty!! Enjoyed sitting around the pool to wind down from the day. Will stay here next time we are in town.
We had excellent rooms and they were clean. The staff was great and went out of their way to be helpful. There are places to eat nearby and to shop. Easy access and plenty of parking. The pool was very clean and not crowded.
We had canned soda and bottled water in the frig. However it had been set to max and the cans of soda burst and knocked the door open with soda all over the frig and on the floor. The staff was very quick to clean up the mess and even replaced our soda and water.
The hotel is nice, in good location if you need to be in Ashland, Ky.or Ironton,Ohio. close to food and shopping but this morning i was not happy with the hotel. the bacon was burnt to a crisp and hard to eat as it broke into little pieces. the bed was not comfortable, kept making noise everytime i moved. had problems with the people in the next room, slamming doors and fighting. finally at 4 a.m. i had had enough, went to front desk and she said she could move me to another room my son was asleep and i was not moving him at that time of morning. so she said she would call the room and tell them if they didn't settle down they would have to leave. that really wasn't much help to me as i had been awake since they came in at 1:30 am. any way also informed the front desk when checking out. i have stayed here before and had no problem. so i would stay again but make sure i let front desk bur still at 1:30 a.m. i still wouldn't change rooms. the other people should be moved instead...
We booked a block of rooms for family reunion a year ahead. We checked on it several times some times they said yes it is here in the system, but when the family called. No we don't have any thing booked for you. We have had an awful time once we finally got it worked out it was ok. However I cancelled my room, but they charged my credit card. Sent me a text thanking me for staying there. I had to call them to take charge from credit. Card.
We stay at BW River Cities several times a year. We LOVE the staff - so kind and caring! Rooms - clean and comfy! Breakfast bar- fresh, huge variety! Hot cocoa machine... freshly baked cookies each PM.
Comfortable, clean rooms! Quiet night's sleep! Delicious breakfast bar with a huge variety! Delicious hot coocoa and evening snack of freshly baked cookies! My husband used the business/office room, and we both used the exercise room. Sweet, friendly, helpful staff and manager! We always stay at Best Western River Cities when we visit family....Even the same room! It's like our second home!
Very clean with caring and friendly staff. The room was clean and very comfortable.Hallways also clean and was just perfect for my stay. I did not eat breakfast but the aroma was very tempting. I plan to stay with this property again.
Check in was a breeze. Staff was very nice and helpful. Enjoyed the breakfast selection and was impressed with the business center. Very quiet hotel. Would recommend and definitely would stay here again.
Rooms are dated. Smell like mildew with poor ventilation. Sheets are actually damp. Carperts are dirty and beds are uncomfortable. Toilet seat was broken and barely any water pressure in shower. Lighting in Room is poor.
We had totally no complaints that I know of. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well equipped. The room had a microwave, refrigerator, desk with outlets. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was enjoyable, There was a good selection to choose from. It was nice to be able to visit with friends to start our day. Oh, yes. There was one problem. ESPN-U is not available. That forced us off site to watch the UK football game. You might want to consider broadening your TV offerings. Most of the UK games will be on the SEC channel. Or maybe you don't have that many UK fans staying with you? There was no noise room to room or in the hallways.
Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, and the free breakfast bar was wonderful! They have cappuccino and juice available at all times and also serve cookies in the evening. First time staying here and will be back when I travel to Ashland again.
I had to stay here with my kids for a few nights while our central air got fixed at home. The room was clean and had plenty of space for us. The pool was clean and maintained. Staff was super friendly and helpful! We loved our stay and we will be back!
Beat Western had a good breakfast, pool is nice, rooms are comfy, and never have any issues. Staff is nice and always friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to anyone. I stay there quite frequently.
My family and I stayed here for a night and I was very surprised by the cleanliness of the room and the friendliness of the staff. I started in a single king room. Impressed by the breakfast spread as well. Overall, this is a great place to stay for the price????
We have stayed here many times in the past. They have done some remodeling and added items to the breakfast, which is always good. Staff is always friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Didn't get to use the pool this time, but have in the past. I like that it has a laundry also.
Nice hotel not much of a view. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lobby and kitchen were kept up well and clean. Breakfast was better than most at motels. If in Ashland again I would stay here again.
It's clean, quiet, GREAT breakfast bar, freshly baked cookies, yummie hot chocolate, exercise room, helpful staff...and hospitable Scott, evening shift at the front desk. We stay at this Best Western frequently. Love it!
Top knotch service and room. I've stayed there many times this year. Its always clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very good, and they will even arrange transportation with the local taxi service.
The motel is very nice outstanding breakfast ! Comfortable rooms ! We study there every time we visit the area, the desk staff are very friendly and the motel is clean ! I would recommend this motel to everyone it is a great value !
Good breakfast, easy check in, easy check out, well priced, cozy and comfortable. Clean. Easy parking. Customer service was excellent. They have free Motrin samples behind the front desk. They offer free hot breakfast. It's a nice place to stay.
We enjoyed this peacefulness of the hotel and no highway traffic. Breakfast was one of the best: Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, french toast, biscuits, waffles, cereal, and lots more. Most of any hotel we had been too recently. Everyone was friendly and acknowledged us. Great place to stay.
Traveled to see Emmylou Harris at the Paramount Performing Arts Theater November 3rd. Stayed at the Best Western River Cities. What a wonderful stay. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Good location for getting around. Very clean. Beds and linens were perfect. Soft and clean. Rooms are large and have microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker. Breakfast was yummy. Both hot and cold options. Fresh food coming out from the kitchen frequently. Again everyone was friendly and patient with us out-of-towners. Would recommend.
The hotel was clean and the staff was awesome but the rooms were incredibly dated. The carpet and bedding looked like it was stuck in 1995. This is unfortunate when most of the hotels in the area have remodeled, were newly built, and completely updated. The cost is still a little high for what you're getting but being close to town makes it convenient.
we always stay here when we come for an event because i stayed here all the time for work and that's how i found it. its in a great location to shopping and places to eat. the breakfast is great. you have to have the white chocolate caramel cappuccino it's so good.
My husband and I stayed here for a wedding and it was a great stay. The staff was friendly and were very helpful. The room was spacious and clean. By far the best continental breakfast we have ever had. Eggs, bacon, pastries, you name it they had it.
The accommodations were provided by corporate lodging. The room and grounds were nice and clean, the staff was helpful and courteous. This was a very pleasant stay, the breakfast provided was good and had a wide range of food to choose from.
Everything about this hotel was wonderful. It was clean. Breakfast was terrific! There were restaurants close by. And the mall was within a couple of miles. I would recommend it to all. There isn't anything I would say bad about it.
I would recommend the Best Western to anyone visiting the Ashland, Kentucky area. I will stay at the hotel again when I return to the Ashland area. The staff was very professional and polite. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Stayed here and had an excellent family reunion in the meeting room. Huge shout out to Scott, Shelly and Mary for making this wonderful. Hotel is clean, service spectacular and breakfast tasty and hot. Will always stay here when in Ashland.
I thought this was a nice hotel to stay at and would stay here again. Rooms were clean and maintained and the staff was nice. Breakfast area was nice also. Good representation of the Best Western brand.
visiting my husband's mother in the hospital, very nice place to stay great and well maintained breakfast and the rooms were very nice, both hubby and I were pleased with hotel and location worked out well as we were in Ashland, Ky
Stayed there for two days and really it was excellent. Well maintained. Breakfast was tasty and really enjoyed my trip staying here. Good service and the reception staff were really helpful. Sure, would recommend for others.
A clean hotel. An very friendly and accommodating staff. Nice breakfast buffet. Will stay on my next trip. A few very minor issues: front door lock needed some adjustment room needs a brighter reading light they need whole milk as an option on the buffet
Beautiful property, warm friendly staff, and so nice and quiet. Wonderful food at breakfast with plenty to choose from. Close to Wal-Mart, Aldi food store, McDonald's, Golden Corral and Arby's. They had warm cookies every night, and plenty of hot food at breakfast. Beds were very comfy and room was immaculate. Plenty of towels in the bathroom too.
I initially reserved a room with Jacuzzi . I received a billing statement by email for 148.00.dollars.Once I arrived and checked in i found the room had mold and smelled bad so I ask to change rooms I was accomodated to a one bedroom king size bed that should have been charged 118.00 dollars.i had!to leave at 4 am and as I was leaving I found a billing statement had been slid under the door that my credit card was charged 169.00dollars . I had no time to dispute at front desk.si I have contacted customer service.also the bathroom smelled badly but I stayed anyway .the room was nice but wasn't clean .
Very friendly staff and clean room. I have stayed here before and will again. The hotel is close to shopping and next door is a family restaurant which serves excellent food. There is many more restaurant in the area and shopping mall. Close to major highways.
veru good hotel. staff was very nice the room was clean and neat .the hotel breakfast was excellent and well presented. we would stay there again if in the area. the check out was smooth they have express check out which I used
The staff and the cleaning staff go over the top to see that you are pleased with everything. Wonderful breakfast! Room nice and clean and everyone friendly and upbeat! We would stay no where else other than here when visiting relatives in the area. They are great! Quiet!
Scott, the Front desk person was so warm and welcoming. Rooms very clean and roomy, nice towels and very comfy bed! Great find on the road especially after a 10 hour drive for a very good price. Stay here.
The staff was extremely accommodating and the room was clean. Loved the recliner in the room which was great for resting. The only problem was that the internet connection kept dropping my phone. Loved the industrial look of the old steel mill across the street! It made for some great photo ops.
The best part of the hotel is the staff. Jim, who checked greeted us, the breakfast staff, folks that answered the telephone and the gentleman working the desk in the morning were all upbeat and professional. Sadly, the hotel is pretty low budget and unappealing. The bed linens, towels and toilet were clean, but I noticed dirt in corners and on the carpeting. Old toothpaste in the sink confirmed my suspicion that cleanliness was lacking. It was simply not the standard available at other locations for the same or less money. This was one time that saving $50 was NOT worth it!
The location was perfect for where we had to go. There were plenty of places in the area to eat, see a movie etc. Check in was quick & easy. I traveled with my handicap grandmother so I requested a room close to the front door. They accommodated us with no problem. The room was decent. 2 queens, flat screen, clean bathroom & a recliner. I ran my finger across the picture hanging over the bed and dust fell everywhere. The rest of the room seemed ok. The front desk staff were great during check in & out. They offered a breakfast bar in the am. I grabbed a banana & a cup of OJ which was nice. Plenty of parking. I will be back, just hope they do a better job cleaning up the dust.
A room is a room and its the little things that make a great stay and this little gem was a great stay. The staff is friendly and caring, the breakfast was fresh and hot each day and yes it was clean and neat. I appreciated the staff saying hello or how's your day each day. Rates were good for the area but worth more with the attention to detail the staff showed.
This hotel has the best cost/ value ratio in Ashland. Booked through my company's travel agent for additional savings. Rooms are comfortable, include a sleeper sofa and recliner, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker. Has a small but adequate exercise room (elliptical, treadmill, weight machine), and a small business center with printer so that you can print boarding passes. Offers full breakfast, including scrambled eggs, choice of meat, potatoes, cereal, yogurt, breads, etc. especially enjoyed the 'scratch' biscuits. Have a reception with fresh baked cookies in the late afternoon. Located conveniently in Rt 23. Minor 'cons' - has very small, ground level sign-under an Arby's sign, and hidden by a large shrub. Difficult to see the sign, and the hotel is ~100 feet off the highway. Difficult to find the first time, especially at night.
I always stay here. Best hotel breakfast going. Good location for Ashland/Ironton/Russell area. Clean rooms and recently remodeled. Plenty of restaurants and shopping around. Just a slam dunk of a stay.
nice hotel in area where not much to select from. happy to stay there, as working overnight in area. clean, quiet, helpful staff. near restaurants, shopping. good internet service, especially for area.
Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will stay again when in the area. Excellent value. I travel a lot for business and was very pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the bed was.
I selected Best Western due to its proximity to my work site, but have cancelled for future weeks of my project in the area, and prefer staying 30-minutes away. Overall I found the property, accommodations, staff, and breakfast to be sub-par. On the cusp of assigning a "poor" rating.
I spent four nights at the Best Western River Cities in August 2016. Although the hotel was undergoing some renovations, everything about the hotel was satisfactory. I used the guest computer in the business center extensively, and experienced no problems. The breakfast was excellent.
I chose this hotel on the spur of the moment for a night's stay. despite the lobby being remodeled--the rest of the hotel was quiet and clean. with modern amenities. desk staff was friendly and helpful. complimentary breakfast was good. Room had very comfortable recliner.
River Cities Best Western was the closest to my family, so it was the hotel of choice when I made my booking. The entire staff was very welcoming and quick to help with any questions. Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting the Ashland/Greenup area.
Starting with the smell of the hall way. it smelled like it hasn't been cleaned ever. When I went in my room it smelled and didn't look like he had been clean. There was hair all over the bath room, The chair and sofa were both dirt. I didn't want to even lay my bag on the floor. I didn't want to try and get another room because it just felt like it was never cleaned. It felt like Hotel Hell. I would not want my dog their. I left to stay at a nothing hotel because I told them my room smelled and was dirt. They charged for my room and didn't refund my money. Plz Plz do not stay here. I don't know what they may have go some where else.
This hotel is in the center of town, but easy to get to. The room was nice size and beds comfortable. The fridge/micro was off the bathroom, which made it a bit awkward but it was doable. The staff was very helpful with a room mix up. Breakfast was plentiful.
I had booked this hotel a couple of weeks in advance and then added an additional day, a couple of days before with the 800 number. Upon arrival the front desk did not have the additional day. They had a room available - luckily. We are getting older and I had asked for a first floor room and did not get it. The hotel just needs to be updated, but the breakfast was very good and the hotel was clean and friendly.
Probably won't stay at this Hotel again. For the price we paid we have done much better at other places. The beds were not comfortable. The door was very loud when you open and closed it. Sounded like something in a horror movie. If there are people in rooms above you you will here the noise.
We were in town to visit friends and family. Check in was quick. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a king suite which was awesome as we were able to have people visit us and had extra space to do so.
Ice cold ac, hot showers, confey marshmallow beds, fun pool, delicious breakfast bar, super friendly staff! I loved the stress relief soaps, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. Mmmm so relaxing. They also had a little Keurig coffee pot in the room. It's something nice to look forward to at the end of the day. Great experience. Nothing is better that this ( is it? )
They say it is non-smoking, but people smoke in the rooms and they just pay the a "cleaning fee." The hotel will give you an air purifier at least! On the positives, they had a nice breakfast buffet and the location is pretty good.
Excellent Location. Easy access to restaurants & shopping. Hotel lobby & guest rooms very clean. Staff was very helpful. As you walk by staff, he/she would stop & asked if there was anything we needed. Nice pool that allowed rest & relaxation.
This is an older motel. Have stayed here several times. Location is in a business area but clean and staff was very nice. Breakfast in AM was good. Parking is free and close to building but I would be sure to lock car. Some food service close.
It is comforting to know that those relatives coming from Indiana, Ohio, WV , Maryland, and California feel welcomed here. Plus the night clerk that found a room for my cousin was a pleasant surprise. They had reservations for Friday night only. However by the time they arrived, she announced they had a room for Sat, Sun & Mon too! I believe she went above and beyond the call of duty.
We try to stay at Best Western when ever we travel. Most of the time we are extremely pleased. This particular hotel was wonderful. First time we stayed here and high marks for staff, comfort, cleanliness, appearance and value. Will stay again.
The motel is clean, convenient, and comfortable. Breakfast (complimentary) is very good. However, I seemed to be in town on a weekend (May 20th) that had some sort of children's activity nearby. Kids were allowed to race in length of the hallways late into the evening, a a dog was allowed to bark for quite awhile. Yes the parents are mostly responsible, but at some point the motel staff must have a responsibility to the rest of their guests.
fairly nice motel, conveniently located on 23 in Kentucky...we were visiting family and needed a place to sleep and to have breakfast in the morning, serves a hot breakfast which is much nicer than continental breakfast
First time at a Best Western. Not disappointed. Good breakfast, comfy bed and pillow. Nothing fancy but a great stop on a long trip. very helpful front desk staff. quick check in considering we couldnt find a room around there was glad to find this one
Very friendly staff located near everything, breakfast was outstanding with variety of options, and room was very comfortable! Will stay here in the future and would recommend to anyone looking for a safe and clean place to stay.
Very convenient to all amenities. Room was ok. Would have liked the floor to have been vacuumed better and the chair was dirty but the bed was clean and comfy. Breakfast was great and open much later than most hotels. Would stay there again.
The staff at the River Cities Best Western is extremely courteous and caring. The check in is a breeze. The breakfast is by far the best of any Best Western I've stayed at. Whenever I go to Ashland Kentucky for business, I stay at this Best Western and would not stay at any other hotel
This hotel served us well on our 2 day drive home from South Carolina. It's about half way. The room had 2 queen beds and additional floor space compared to some hotels with the same beds. The hotel was quiet and the staff very helpful. We were hungry and tired of being in a car so we walked across the parking lot to the Golden Corral. While this option is not necessarily my first choice, it just so happened that they serve a wicked prime rib on the weekend! I was very happy!! There were plenty of choices for a meal there without having to drive again. Additionally, we were greeted in the a.m. with a very acceptable hot/cold breakfast bar. It too was a step above the typical, offering 3 different kinds of meat as well as cheese omelets, scrambled eggs, and boiled eggs. There was also an instant cappuccino machine, which I find enhances my morning coffee when I mix it 1/2n1/2. The hotel is located on a really fine highway that follows the Ohio River on the Kentucky side. For a Sunday a.m. drive I highly recommend it as beautiful and not busy, as least for our trip.
I've been staying here since May of last year. This is by far the best hotel in the area. Clean rooms, hot breakfast, and excellent staff. They're currently upgrading the rooms with new carpet and mattresses. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Haven't had any problems during my stay and they make you feel like family.
I stayed here for a little over a week and was pleasantly surprised how nice this BW was. The room was clean and comfortable, had a desk chair that was in good working condition as was the Wi-Fi. The gem was having a very comfortable recliner in the room which was great after a long day. The breakfast was equally good with a good selection of fresh items and biscuits, eggs, etc. Out of the ordinary to have a varied selection of breakfast meats, such as smoked sausage, bacon, country ham and link and patty sausage. Overall a great stay and highly recommended.
Since this is a new hotel in the area I expected it to be nicer. When my husband complained about our room when we were checking out they took us to a room that is being redone. Why that should have had anything to do with the room we rented I have no idea. The first room we checked into was gross. There were red stains on the comforter and the lights were blown. After handing my husband a lightbulb to install himself and walking away and after walking to the front desk to complain, they moved us to a room next door. It was not much better. The pictures of the bathroom door speak for themselves. (That is the door in the second room) The shower curtain had black stains( maybe washed with a pen?) and the first towel I grabbed getting out of the shower had a yellow stain. The coffee pot and microwave/mini fridge were covered with paint speckles so it looked like they didn't cover them when they painted last. All in all... NOT worth the over 100$ we paid to spend one night. (Also there was a party in the conference room and kids running and screaming up and down the hall directly outside our door. When they came to switch us to a different room, they did close the doors to the party room finally)
I stayed here for three days and I was happy with my stay. My room was clean and my bed was cozy. I had a hot breakfast every morning and the service was decent. The only reason I didn't give an excellent was on the last day the room right beside us had a dog that would not stop barking. It woke me up just before 9 and I called the desk three times and they said they would take care of it and yet it barked away until I left.
Could not receive receipt on check-out due to the running of the nightly audit. I understand this. But a promise to email receipt NEVER HAPPENED. Followed up with phone call to hotel today - still no receipt. Incompetent front desk staff !
I stayed here on a business trip in November. It is located behind a few restaurants off of Hwy 23. I had no issues with service or my room. This hotel is definitely an older property that has been generally either been well-maintained or updated. I think this property is what one would expect from the photos online and from a Best Western property. I had no issues or concerns during my stay. I would say this is an average property in terms of amenities and look. It was clean and the staff was friendly. Probably rate about a 3.5 on the tripadvisor scale.
Very nice and friendly staff and the room was clean and roomy. Excellent breakfast accommodations! Would stay at this hotel in the future should business take me there again. Several restaurants in the area to visit.
Everything was top notch during my week long stay. I now have to type more letters to hit the TripAdvisor work count. I really do not feel the need to embellish and expound on my stay. It was great. What more do I need to say? Sheesh.
We enjoyed our stay at Best Western Motel. It was by far more that we expected. We appreciated having all the amenities such as refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, television, and of course the hair dryer. We appreciated the maid having our supplies for us each morning which made our stay even more enjoyed. It was the best breakfast bar we have ever had and everything was delicious. The only other thing I might add is that we had two AARP cards and never got the AARP discount. With a 5 night stay it would have been much appreciated. Thank you !
Very easy and no hassle hotel stay. Check in was easy, room as described and very clean. Staff polite and helpful. Breakfast was very good and prepared every morning. Jacuzzi tub was in room and enjoyable to relax in also!
We stayed here for parent's weekend while visiting my daughter for parent's weekend at Marshall University. The hotel was not far from the college about a 20 minute drive we had tried booking something closer but everything was booked. I would stay here again the hotel was clean close to major shopping and restaurants. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was very good.
There is a Steel processing plant that works thru the night across the street. The smell of the process make the air smell bad. The smokers smoke in the front of Hotel under the drive thru. The rooms are clean and the service is great. The breakfast bar is great! The staff is great and very helpful.
Noise level was horrible and got woke up at 8am instead of afternoon. Nobody at the front desk if you needed help with anything to ask a question too. Parking was very limited due to only being able to park in front of the hotel with no side or back parking available. Have door hangers as to what you want done to your rooms but the hotel staff doesn't take time to see whether you want morning or afternoon and wake you up at 8am anyhow.
BW river cities provided an economical stay which included breakfast and cookies in the evening. I would use this hotel again when visiting family. It is conveniently located amid many restaurants, some within walking distance.
This is a nice place overall they met my standards although the Hotel is very far from the Highway and is not a complete Non smoking hotel but it is very close to the mall and an asortment of resturaunts and the beds are very comfortable I like the cookie night and the free apple juice 24/7 I really don't like it being so close to AK steel because sometimes sketchy people come and check into the hotel but other than that its a nice place it could use some renovation though.
Great place to stay. Very nice staff. High speed wi-fi. Flat screen TV's with multiple HDMI ports to plug in laptop to stream from. If I ever have another project near here, I will definitely stay again. Staff was very helpful in explaining their rewards program and making the stay a pleasant trip.
Clean hotel and lobby, comfortable beds, good breakfast with a lot of variety, pet friendly, central location to shopping and other Ashland events , easy traffic in and out of hotel, quiet location, great area to walk a dog.
I've been staying here for over 5 years while working in the area. The rooms are always clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful. They've returned shirts to me that I forgot when checking out the week before. BY FAR the BEST hotel in the area.
