Best Western Central Hotel

An unpleasant stay. The room smelled bad (from the bathroom), noisy, dusty furniture, very bad breakfast, bad quality, instant coffee from the machine, stale food. The price is too much for what the hotel offers. The only good thing was that this hotel was the only one in Arad that charged us the online price Even if we didn't have a reservation. We tried 6 other hotels and they told us a double price without an online reservation.

Hotels location is good, the room is good. Elevators is badly situated between floors, som there are many stairs to walk on every day. Airconditioning is noisy. Breakfast I very bad and the waiters get upset, if you critice it. Most irritating is that the director/boss still thinks he lives in the communist times where he was the capo. He has his own parking space which chains around, and has reserved the best table at the terrasse. That is bad style. And he has a hard way of scolding his employees in front of the guests. The world has moved on since those times, and I think the hotel owners should do the same.

this is a center located hotel with a very nice terrace with a lot of trees which in the hot summer days is perfect. the restaurant and the staff form the restaurant are very friendly and professional. the is no balcony which is a minus

I have been there several times. Hotel room - fair price. Restaurant a bit expensive but worth every Lei! Very quit and secure area in the center or Arad. Parking secured, nice little restaurant park and terrace. We will stay there again on trips from Switzerland to Romania.

The hotel is quite yet close to the city center. So in general it is ok with a certain room for improvement: The elevators are located in between the floors, so you'd have to carry your suitcase either up or down the stairs. Breakfast is every time the same food and very modest. Wifi is available on every floor but the coverage is still breaking. For me as a non-smoker the Tobacco smell was very strong on the 2nd floor even though the smokers we outside on the terrace. However the staff is very friendly and the hotel has a very convenient location.

It's an old hotel, elevators do not come to the floor, so you have to climb stairs all the time. Facilities are old and used, the gym is miserable and actually cannot be properly used. Breakfast is poor, and if you do not speak Romanian the waiters will avoid you Eva not answering to your questions. The only distance things are are the location which is Central ‏

Hidden in a quiet secluded part, yet very close to the center. Friendly and helpful staff, pleasant shady terrace. The hotel and rooms have a little dated design, but clean and the bed is comfortable.

On my way home from Heviz, Hungary, to Brasov, I spent a night in this hotel. I did the same several years ago when returning from Austria. The hotel is extremely clean, staff very polite and eager to help. The meal at the restaurant was good. If I go again to the west, I will choose this hotel without hesitation. The only thing I hope to be better is breakfast. Not bad but not as good as it was at my first stay.

Make sure you get email confirmation if you want to check in late. We arrived at the property 4am in the morning just to be told that " system is closed now " and they cant check us in. Even though i have confirmed with the property late check in couple of days before and been told that it wont be a problem. We ended up having to find another hotel at this hour and the explanation was that the "issue occured due to lack of communication" . Shame, as i stayed here before and the place itself is lovely

Cozy hotel situated in a good location. Good breckfest, conmfortable rooms, very close to the city center. Maybe a pool will increase the value of this hotel. Some upgrades to the furniture will be needed in the future.

The hotel is well located, about ~200m from the city center. I have spent there 2 night due to a conference, but the Hotel was very comfortable, quiet and well prepared. Parking facilities are also avaialble and free of charge. All in all, this is very recomended.

This hotel sits along the major road, just a block from the charming city hall and the city center. The Restaurant served good food, especially breakfast. However, the hotel couldn't help me while I struggled with my delayed luggage.

Once more this review is just for the restaurant of the hotel.... Hotel itself - rooms and housing related service - is not part of my review right now. Location - the location is very good, in the center of Arad - I mean is clear from the name also "Central" so this time the name is true. Tables organized outside in the courtyard terrace in the shade... Nice. (Seats very uncomfortable have to mention). Service - here in the average range - you have to understand that the place was fairly empty, beside our table there were just 3-4 other tables occupied- we had to wait quite a while for the beers (so we ended up ordering them by in packs of 3-4 so we don't sit with an empty glass for 15 minutes). For sure in this aspect they can improve. Food - quality wise no complains - in terms of availability in the average range you can find in most restaurants - and in terms o preparation, well, I've ordered duck breast and it was not prepared properly... Appetizers once more good but nothing special there too... Overall an average score is fair for this section. Food is ranging from seafood plates to beef and pork so everybody can pick their own favorite. Prices - mid-range, now this combined with the average service and average food is not the ideal, overall it can be improved that's certain. So price to quality ration here in the favor of price... Payment with cash - since we wanted to split the bill and for card payment it become complicated. To summarize - restaurant has good features, it was not at its best when I've been there - but overall I'm sure that it has its better days - in the end I can tell you it will not be my first choice, but also if somebody decides to pick this place for a meeting/get together I'm not going to run away.

The hotel has very nice rooms with a cosy bed, a big shower in the bathroom. It's very clean. You will get a big breakfast buffet. Only the elevator is not at the first floor. It's some stairs between the floors that you have to carry the luggage over some stairs.

This hotel was recommended as the best available in Arad, for a business trip for a couple of days. It's clean but that's the best thing I can say. The receptionist wasn't very welcoming, the room was dated and depressingly decorated. Free sparkling wine mini bottle but water would have to be purchased from the minibar. The bathroom had a tray of complementary soap, shampoo and sundries but most were empty. I took the empty ones out and put to one side, but returned to find the maid had put them back in the tray, very strange. Not shower curtain or screen adjacent to the shower over bath so floor ended up wet despite best efforts to make do without it. Nice bed but shame there are no curtains and the shutters didn't exclude the morning sun nor the twittering wild life. Breakfast not particularly great, lukewarm hot food and cold buffet only just adequate. I'm not planning to return to Romania any time soon, if I did I'd risk trying another option.

Very nice and clean hotel!!!! Good continental breakfast and very polite staff! Rooms are big with comfy beds and modern furniture. One of the best hotels I've ever been. And FREE PRIVATE PARKING!!!??RECOMMENDED!!!

The Central hotel is very well positioned in the centre of Arad, at 300 m from the city hall and the main boulevard and has fairly good services. Some of its employees were kind, but some others weren't. The facilities are few, but ok. The meeting / training room is wrongly placed at the semi-basement, so has not enough natural light which affects people in a long run. The chairs are very uncomfortable, so unbearable for the entire day. The food is all right, but nothing special. The prices are faire.

The only reason to be in Arad is to break a journey between Romania and Hungary. This hotel is very central near city hall, 2 km S of railway & bus stations down broad bvd. It's in a mid-rise block set back from street, so it's quiet. Friendly staff speak good English. Big comfy room, good rate, okay breakfast. Odd mezzanine lift: it serves between floors, so you're always walking half a flight to get in and out. I didn't need so didn't enquire about mobility access, I'm guessing there's also a staff lift for laundry skips etc level with floors. Arad has a cluster of fine public buildings around city square. A little south is a dilapidated square in 19th C Austrian style. And that's about it. Plenty of cafes. One night is enough, then go somewhere interesting on the mid-afternoon train that plies between Budapest and Transylvania.

Hotel nicely located close to the main square, main alley and fortress. Parking available free of charge. Staff very friendly. Rooms clean, warm and with comfortable beds. Good restaurant. Some difficulties might be for disabled people no possibility of using wheelchair..

Located in the heart of Arad, in a relaxing and noise free zone, the hotel offer the opportunity to combine the very good services and best place in town. Also, the variety of the menu in the restaurant and the quality of the food have to be mentioned!

We was only here for one night but it was made memorable by the lovely Catarina who was one of the nicest hotel receptionist we've met..our room was nice clean and was very quiet the beds are comfy it has a good secure car park breakfast there was plenty of choice but no toaster it has a good bar area and hotel restaurant is cheap enough but most in the know go out for food

I went to this hotel as it appeared as the best in Arad, but I was disappointed: my room was dirty (there were crumbs on the floor); the furniture was old and torn... well, basically an old Communist hotel where Best Western put the badge, but without giving any touch... Also I was shocked by the very cold welcoming at the reception: no information given, not even on the breakfast; I had to ask for everything...

The hotel was nice, clean and comfortable. It had a very nice garden-like terrace, and the food was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to city centre but it's not on the main street so there is no traffic noise. Wifi is pretty bad.

The hotel is situated quite strategic in the down town area close to shops, restaurants and tourist sightings and is easy to find (and park!) when arriving by car. The parking place was even guarded at all times which is a reassuring feature. The building itself doesn't look much from the outside, but is quite pleasantly surrounded by an open air café which serves both food and drinks. The room and particularly the bathroom is recently renovated and has most facilities one could need. The Wi-Fi was pretty good and could be used at more “heavy” online activities such as skype etc. When we were in Arad the temperatures were almost 40 degrees, and luckily the hotel offers powerful air condition in every room which was a true blessing. The breakfast however could be improved; there were many dishes to choose between but the bread was very dry and the boiled eggs so overcooked they were blue through and through. We breakfasted at 9.00 and at that point the tray with the scrambled eggs was almost empty, and during the next half hour we sat there it was not refilled. That leaves a very cheap and unnecessary impression. When we left the hotel's terminal was out of function so we had to go to a nearby ATM to withdraw money. Not a problem, but when it has happened before the receptionist has always been very apologetic and tried to solve the situation with minimal fuss. This time the receptionist was very emphatically that something was wrong with our credit cards and not the terminal, which of course was not correct. Sometimes a more humble attitude is a better approach.

The staff were welcoming and behaved appropriately for a 4 star hotel. The room was clean, quiet and big enough to fit an additional two baby cribs. The private on site parking is guarded 24/7. The hardwood floored hallway and room are worm and welcoming. However, the following just make the BW Central Hotel just seem like a very decent 3 star hotel starting with the outside shades that are old and need replacing and the A/C unit which would refuse to cool the air, it would only heat it, no matter what setting was selected. There was dust in the bathroom air vent and all the toilet paper and tissues were all almost over and did not last even for a one night stay. There are no ramps and about 10 steps before you reach the lobby. As for the elevator, it's your choice if you want to go up or down another 10 steps as it's in between the floors. The breakfast had a disappointingly limited number of choices which would have benefited from a higher quality product selection. While it provides a very pleasant stay, the many shortcomings don't justify the almost double price as compared to other 3 star options in the city, but I would assume this is the risk with independently operated hotels. On the other hand, the lack of competitors make it a top picking int he area.

The hotel was nice, clean and comfortable. It had a very nice garden-like terrace, and the food was good. The quality of service at the reception desk was lacking in smiles and helpfulness, and there were some problems with the keys. The staff in the restaurant was OK.

Hotel is situated in the centre of Arad. Nice rooms, very confortable beds, quite area, normal breakfast, terrace is really enjoyable.Definitely a best option for a sleep in trip from Galati up to Europe.

By far the best option from Arad, ideal if you are in town for business travel, nice rooms, very confortable beds, quite area, but also central location. I could go on but suffice it to say I was very pleased with my stay, and although short this time, I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.

I'm here exactly one year after my last visit. I confirm my opinion for the room, but I think I've found the worst WiFi connection in my life. It's absolutely untolerable for a 4-stars hotel. Low quality for the breakfast.

This hotel has a very good service, i love it. The barman, mr. Razvan has special talents and he does a really good job with his coffee skills. I hope i'll get there again as soon as posibble. And the food.. oh my God the food is so tasty, cookers are incredible, i love so much this place. And it has many rooms , of course cheaper than i expected ever.

Stayed in this hotel for two night with colleagues for an exercise. Rooms were nice en well cleaned, breakfast was from good quality and dinner wad very well served for a correct price. Hotel is situated in the centre of Arad and gives you the possibility to travel around.

In a long trip all You need after driving 700km is a good place to relax… and a comfortable bed ? When I book room in BW I always can be sure that all my expectations will be fulfilled ! And this time a BIG plus was the occasional price (close to all other 3* - and this one is much better ) – so value for the price – best of all !!! There is nothing I can complain . . . the service is great, location – heart of the city – close to highway to… just excellent. Definitely a best option for a sleep in trip from Bucharest up to north ?

Nice rooms, friendly staff. Good parking is available and the house is centrally located, but away from the main streets. The breakfast was not a highlight, maybe some better lighting in the breakfast room would have helped to improve the ambiance, plus some attention to the coffee machine. But nevertheless a recommendation when visiting the nice city of Arad.

The hotel is situated in the city center, in walking distance from important institution, turist spots and restaurants. The room was spacious, but the carpet was not very clean (lots of hair on it). The bed was quite comfortable (pillows were fluffy and the sheets were smooth). The shower was avarage, i've seen better ones in other Best western hotels. The breakfast was good and so was the coffee. The staff was helpfull, but the fact that the hotel does not have a ramp for the luggage is quite a problem because there are many stairs.

I was in this hotel for business and i stay there 3 days. The hotel is located in the centre of the city The room is little but is good cleaned The bathroom is very little bus is good cleaned. The breakfast is normal , not so much choice.

I've been staying at this hotel for more than 15 years, every time I drive in or out of Romania. It is very well placed in the center of Arad, in a quiet spot, surrounded by dwellings, with a parking that is guarded overnight. The rooms are very clean and the sleep quality is good. I didn't miss the opportunity of eating in the restaurant, each time I came. The menu is well balanced with local and international dishes, the service is good and the staff friendly and helpful. In the summer, dinner on the terrace is really enjoyable.

Stayed at the hotel for a night. The gist of it is: +excellent location. Close enough to the main street as to be just 3 minutes away, on foot, yet far enough that no noise enters the room (was on the 4th floor, make of that what you will) + nice rooms, spacious + staff was friendly and professional + modern TV (for those that still watch cable anyway) +/- the view is interesting; if even if the surroundings aren't the most interesting - pillows were pretty tough, couldn't get a comfortable sleeping position - the breakfast's food wasn't replenished with enough speed (meaning that they took too much time to bring in extra bread, scrambled eggs, etc. onto the trays)

Central location, a bit old looking hotel. At the entrance you have to go up some stairs to the reception, and there is no ramp for trolley luggage. We were accommodated at the 4 floor, took the elevator, and when the doors opened we had a surprise...we had to go downstairs half a floor in order to be on 4 floor, and of course, no ramp for luggage. The room was ok, but the double bed was small and placed not in the middle as you expected for a double bed, but in a corner, very unpleasant. The bathroom was clean, with a shower cabin so small that I had to open the door in order to wash my legs, otherwise I couldn't bend my knees. The restaurant is lovely, such a nice atmosphere, breakfast was generous, and I didn't have to pay for extra cup of coffee. It is also a terrace and a garden where you can have your breakfast. The personnel is very kind and helpful, the lady waiter brought us a blanket for the terrace because in the morning was a bit chill. Overall, is a fair hotel placed in the center, on a walking distance of interesting places.

A bit pricey frankly at €75, supposedly including breakfast. But that is only with one coffee! If you want another coffee you've got to fork out cash on top of the €75. The beds are old and I woke up with a sore back and neck. The mattress sags. I found the rooms quite loud due to lack of sound proofing: you hear everything from the hall. So if you have to stay there, nick a room far from the staircase. Bathrooms are clean and functional. Food is good but expensive. Location is central as it says in the hotel name. Would I stay there again? No: There are better and friendlier pensions and hotels for €50.

The hotel is quite old outside and in the common parts, but the rooms are modern and beautiful. Only the beds are quite small. The restaurant has a big choice of dishes and is quite good. The breakfast isn't very good.

Lunch was perfect. Tasteful, international dishes, warm atmosphere. Staff is good and you can feel like in holiday. I ate some shrims and mushroms soupe. Dessert was homemade. My frien ate some beef. I'll come back and

the hotel is very well placed in the city centre, yet off the main street. it has free parking which very handy. the room size is average, air conditioned and very clean. buffet breakfast is very good and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. the restaurant is also quite good. the only criticisms: the shower is very small and slippery. be careful if your balance is not great. you might want to ask for non-slip mat or maybe us a towel. water pressure isn't fantastic but might be a town issue. the management needs to invest in some flat screen TVs. the old style CRT tvs look out of place, the picture isnt great and they take a lot of space. all up, however this hotel is probably the best choice in Arad

I have "betrayed" this hotel in Arad only once, being located in different one. But I will not make it again. It is one of the cleanest hotels in whole Romania, with nice kitchen and big beds. Why I should stay in different one, if this fulfill my needs in 100% :-)

good hotel for Business Trips. clean, good service. close to many bars and restaurants and excellent Wifi. Only there could be more water coming out of the shower. ................................................

We found it a very welcoming hotel with lovely staff in the reception bar and restaurant. The room was comfortable and clean and with good facilities. Breakfast which was included in the price was very disappointing as it seemed most things were put out the night before and were a bit stale. The biggest problem was smoking in the public areas and many of the rooms the whole hotel smelt like an ash tray. Such a pity as otherwise it would have been 4 or 5.

I was travelling by car from Bucharest back home to Prague. This trip is quite long and I needed to stay overnight in Arad. Best Western is ideally located near to city center, and it has quite good, accessible parking. Checking was pleasant, and rooms are comfortable. I enjoyed dinner in hotel restaurant and breakfast was very good too. WiFi was working well, so no complaints to this hotel. I will use it gain if I need to stay in Arad.
