Learn more about Tokyo
The city of Tokyo is located in the Kanto region, on the island of Honshu, and overlooks Tokyo Bay on the Pacific Ocean. This modern megalopolis fascinates many tourists, making it the most visited destination in Japan. It is made up of 23 wards. As urbanised as it is, Tokyo offers a wide variety of landscapes. The sea to the south and the mountains to the north are not far away. From the Japanese capital, you can go hiking on Mount Odake. If you have come to Tokyo to see the teeming crowds, don't miss a stroll in the Shibuya district, the temple of fashion, or in the skyscraper district of Shinjuku. This is where you will find the city hall, whose building offers a free breathtaking view over all of Tokyo. If you want to discover a more traditional Japan, head to Asakusa, where you will find temples and local crafts. Japan is also known for its parks and the many cherry trees that blossom there during the Hanami festivities in early spring. We therefore recommend wandering through one of the largest gardens in the city, that of the Imperial Palace.

Getting to or leaving Tokyo
There are two international airports in Tokyo: Haneda and Narita, a little further from the centre. Air France offers direct flights and recently opened a route to Haneda, which originally only handled domestic flights. From Haneda, the easiest way to reach the centre and our hotels in Tokyo is to take the monorail. The journey takes about a quarter of an hour. It is also possible to take a taxi or a bus. This is a more expensive and slower solution, but it will be necessary if you arrive after midnight. From Narita airport, allow one hour by train to reach the centre.
