"Welcome to the Tomb!"

We were turned away when we arrived 2 hours before check in, even though the parking lot was empty. Shower door would not close, and allowed water all over floor. Soap dispensers in way of properly standing in shower (I kept bumping my arm on them.) Iron board in cabinet too big for the space, and pushed against our hanging clothes causing them to wrinkle. Bathroom door wouldn't close completely leaving a crack of space. Desk edge was missing. The handle towel holder is located directly in front of the sink causing the towels to fall every time the sink was accessed. Room was very dark (low watt bulbs and dark paint), and was very cave / tomb like. Young lady with long dark hair was very unfriendly and uncaring - we explained we'd traveled over night to attend a funeral, to which she pointed at the 3pm check-in sign attached to the wall. There's no reason to stay here as there are lots of other options in the area. Do not recommend.

Reasonable rate. Small room with rather old towels. Nice wine/beer happy hour. TV itself was fine but no current listing of channels so it was a challange to find the programing we wanted. List of channels in the room very outdated

Owners are crazy rude, policies are like no other hotel, I do not recommend. Early check in is extra $30, check your credit card promptly after checking out for extra fees. Owners don't seem concerned about customer complaints. Best Western corporate doesn't seem to care about numerous complaints with this franchise.

"Hotel's ad stated Late Arrivals welcome. Then refused to honor paid reservation or issue refund"

Placed a reservation for late night arrival and paid in full $104.49. Arrived at 9am...2 hours before the 11am check out hoping to take at least a shower after driving over 10 hours through the night, part of which was spent dealing with a flat tire on the side of the highway. The clerk at counter refused to check me in stating i didnt call to confirm late arrival and after 5am guests that have not checked in are considered no-shows and forfeit their paid reservation. I explained that the reservation was placed around 2am in response to their ad accepting late arrivals, paid in full, and there was no mention of a "check in by" or "call by" deadline. I review if the website shows "hotel policies" that pertsin only to children and pets. No mention of late arrival procedures. The logical argument of what difference did it make to them if i had occupied overnight or occupied it for 2 hrs...since i had paid for it..was completely lost on the clerk who refused to both honor their reservation or refund in-full or even in part the money they essentially stole. At this point I am considering their refusal to honor a reservation that was paid in full, made in response to their "Late night check in" ad bith a Breach of Contract and Fraud in the Inducement...essentially theft.

Old and sticky floors. Needs renovation. Soiled sheets and comforter. Bathroom shower needed better cleaning. The staff was friendly, especially Lisa, the evening manager. She was very helpful with making sure we got fresh sheets and was very apologetic. She always had a friendly smile and greetings whenever we came in or out of the hotel. At this point, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone that I know. It would have been nice to receive a discount based on the inconvenience of the soiled sheets and comforter. We were very tired from a 12-Hour drive and had to wait for Lisa to help us before we could go to bed. Cleaning staff not working. I appreciate the hospitality and the breakfast the most. The information on website is deceptive based on the need for a renovation/upgrades to the hotel.

Rooms aren't clean, air conditioners don't work well, lighting is atrocious if you are trying to get ready in the mirror you would have better luck at a gas station. Went with a wedding party and we all had the same complaints.

The only great part to my stay was meeting the front desk clerk, Ms. Lisa. She is very polite and very professional. She made check-in process easy. The condition of the room is a different story. As soon as you walked into the room, there was a mildewy stench to it. The room looked as if it was not cleaned at all! I found dirty socks, boogers on one of the headboards, and dust every where. The bathroom was full of black mold especially in the shower. The microwave and refrigerator were filthy on the inside. Breakfast was the usual waffles, eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes, cereals, etc.

Nice spot on the strip, close to many conveniences a short drive or bike ride to great views, wildlife and other activities. They provide a warm breakfast option, a small but decent work-out equipment area and offer a happy with lite snacks daily. Although not a 'newer" BW the exterior was well maintained and evidence of ongoing efforts inside were also noted.

The room was filthy as well as the bathroom. This motel needs some major renovations. The shower made a loud noise when turning on/off. No water pressure. Flooring was damp with condensation. AC did not work properly. Their idea of a queen bed is not the industry standard. There was mold and mildew in the shower and sink. Walls are paper thin.

"Don't bring your pet here"

A family member booked here b/c they allowed pets. Here's the policy for this location: Hotel Policies PET POLICY Pets allowed based on the availability of pet friendly rooms. We are pet friendly and allow up to two dogs in a rented room. The size limit for any one dog shall be 80 pounds. Other pet types (e.g. cats) may be allowed upon the hotel's approval prior to arrival. The pet friendly rate is $20 per day with a $100 per week maximum. A refundable cleaning and damage deposit of $50 is required upon check-in. If damage occurs or excessive cleaning is needed, the deposit can become non-refundable and the hotel may charge additionally to cover the costs of repair or cleaning. When my bil got there they said you can NOT leave the pet alone or there would be a $300 fine. They have cameras and you need to crate your pet. As they were trying to figure out what to do an employee runs out to say, "we are not dishonest". and my daughter will watch each pet for $12.50/hour. I Wish we had know the Hampton Inn now takes pets and they are very accommodating and a nicer hotel.

Decent clean room with a good shower with hot water and nice front desk staff. good stay. Convenient place to stay and tons of food located close by. Nice pool also and a fire pit that I didn't get the chance to use this stay. Recommend!

"Poor!!"

Sink and shower had mold, bathroom floor was dirty, bathroom door knob was falling off upon entrance. Breakfast had no juice, coffee, milk shortage of staff and no manager on site or ability to access one.

"dirty and damaged rooms"

We rented two rooms. One room was just full of mold. They were also broken towel racks and toilet paper dispensers. I did not have the time to complain about all this because of our schedule. We stayed two nights.

"I've stayed in the past, but since new ownership never again"

1st off I'd like to mention I've stayed at this location numerous times in the past without an issue. This time I stayed because I was in the middle of a move and technically homeless at the moment I stayed there. I stayed about 2 weeks and I rarely received any room service it stayed dirty most of the stay had to go to the front desk and get toiletries and towels more than once. I did tell front desk and they're like "if anyone is here I'll send them, otherwise you can do yourself" the hotel was meh overall on cleanliness or friendliness. I had one person working the front desk who was kind of nice tell me how much she hated the job and I told her I understood I've had some bad ones, she said if they don't come relieve me I am walking out here soon, she then apologized to me that I shouldn't have to deal with that and got me all fixed the best she could. What more than anything made me give this a 1 star review is I had a small pet with me of whom I had to pay $20/day fee for honestly no reason other than they can, but it wasn't that, it was the $300 fee they charged me after I left I called and was told there were damages to the room, they couldn't tell me what and hungup on me when I asked for proof. If you could have well left that $300 fee alone I would not be writing this review and because of this I will NOT stay at this location I'd sooner driver a city over to Greenville and stay or at the Hampton Inn which is in town. My recommendations do not stay here they're about money and nothing else, it happened once it was bought out.

Had to move team to a new hotel, while NCAA basketball tourney was in area. This hotel stepped up and got me six rooms for a solid price. Nice area. Smaller town but very nice area. Decent food available in the area.

Staff always willing to help from front desk to cleaning staff. Clean rooms, well stocked continental breakfast. Check in staff were quick and efficient. Rooms were clean, firm beds and convenient location.

Heat could not be adjusted over 65. Asked for someone to look at it while we were out. Upon our return nothing had been done. Asked afor a different room and eventually had to stay the night in the room. The hotel was not full none of the time we were there. They did move us the next day.

When we arrived the person who was behind the counter was rude. She greeted us with "drivers license?". It took forever for check in and it was not pleasant. When we got to our room there were several stains on the carpet, it seemed dirty. We went back down to lobby and asked for a different room-none available! Funny, later that night in the lobby we heard a man ask if a room was available and the same attendant said "Yes sir"

"Fire Alarms from Hell"

I have traveled throughout my life and this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. We stayed four nights, the 1st night the fire alarm went off at 4:30 A.M. meaning we had to take our dog and ourselves out of the hotel until the firemen cleared us for reentry. The 4th night the fire alarms went off at 1:30 A.M. and again at 3:30 A.M. meaning we had to take our dog and ourselves from the property until the firemen once again cleared us to return. We were offered NO compensation and asked to e mail the manager for consideration. I have e mailed numerous times with no response whatsoever. Today I was called and was told the manager works from home and I could not speak to her directly. Adding to all of this was the statement I got from one of the firemen when I was complaining about the inconvenience when he said this happens all of the time. Do Not Stay At This Hotel. In all of my travels this rates as the worst experience with no consideration/compensation given for the people that were staying there.

Air conditioning/heat not working- check. Bathroom shelving detached- check. Walls with ability to hear sleeping/snoring in adjoining rooms- check. Soap/shampoo dispensers broken- check. Too much to list, very bad experience. On the bright side, at least the volume on the TV in the room next door worked. Seriously, use your money to stay somewhere else. I wish I'd been told this, especially when the fire alarm sounded at 1am and we had to evacuate outside in the cold. It was at that time I learned the phone in our room did not work either. It was a false fire alarm, as was the evacuation alarm 3 hours later, at 4am. Hotel management not compassionate over these and other concerns. As for me, I'll never stay there again nor would I ever recommend it even being considered. Not sure I'll ever even consider a Best Western again. Entire brand has been damaged. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Checked in at night and after unloading my luggage and stuff found out the heater in the room didn't work even the HVAC panel wasn't in good condition. Reported the problem to front desk and waited for the maintenance to come. Couldn't wait anymore since I wanted to sleep right away. Then called the front desk again and finally got another room with working heater. But, found the carpet seems not vacuum thoroughly.

I am legally blind and traveling with a guide dog. Staff demanded I produce papers for my guide which is against the law. They would not waive pet fee until I produced these papers. True guide dogs do not have papers. She was wearing her metal and leather harness with an accredited school stamped on the harness.The location was sketchy. Several cars of young men hanging out in rear of hotel. Oil air freshener in room that triggered an asthma attack. No manager on duty to address concerns or problems with the bill. Charged full amount in advance and no staff member was able to add my gift cards to my bill even though Best Western sends you an email telling you to print these out and produce them at check-in. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Hampton Inn right down the road. That is an awesome hotel with wonderful staff!

"Be prepared to lose your money"

We booked 7 nights through Best Western website, because we wanted our trip guaranteed. We had to cancel due to Covid symptoms in the family we had planned to visit. The hotel manager refused to cancel & refund our stay (over $800) and told me 1) that I had "chosen" a non-refundable room, which I had not, and 2) that only corporate can refund me. Then Corporate told me that only the hotel manager can refund me. So after seven points of contact and query, I'm denied by both corporate and the hotel manager. They kept over $800 for NO SERVICES rendered, and then they changed my reservation online to reflect only one night, not seven, without refunding me, presumably so they can now book that toom to someone else and get paid twice for that one room. They have lost a customer for life, and now my friends & followers on social media have said they will also never stay with Best Western after I shared my story.

1 night stay at BW in Travelers Rest SC To visit Pretty Place and see the fall leaves. First time at this property and the last. The mold in bathroom and behind the night stand was acceptable and the truck parked by our window running its engine all night made for a unpleasant night of no sleep.

Nice lobby, a filling bag breakfast, bathrooms need updating, room was clean, beds are very comfortable, convenient location. Overall it is a strong two-star hotel. It was a college football weekend and I think the prices were a little high because of that.

Cleanliness. Time to get rooms up to date. Looks like rooms need new rugs, new paint job, attention to detail. Need to figure out COVID, everyone else is. Need to spend some money on inside facilities as well. Could do something better then blue tape blocking everything off on first floor. 1st Floor bathroom inoperable the two days I was there. Overall letting COVID be there excuse for not doing something. Sure the job market is not good there either, but still need to provide better to folks that stay there.

My daughter stayed at BW in Travelers Rest, SC on 10/7, I paid $30.00 extra to extend her check out time. Her stay that night was due to a medical emergency. I'm 85 years old and was dropped off (7am)at the hotel to spend the morning with her to make phone calls and help her make arrangements to get into a medical facility that afternoon. We checked out promptly at 2pm(which I paid extra the evening I checked her in to extend check out time). It was pouring down rain outside, the transportation that was prearranged to pick us both up was going to be delayed due to her check in time at hospital was pushed back till 3:30 instead of 2:30 so we had no choice but to wait. The rudest lady ( said she was manager) told me immediately after I sat down in lobby/breakfast area that we could not be there, again pouring rain outside, sick daughter &I'm 85 that she did not care if ride was going to be coming to leave now, she had a wedding party coming in. She made us wait outside by pool in rain, wet chairs no cover at all. One point my sick daughter went in to ask why can't we sit in lobby she said I said so and threatened to call the police. We continue to sit outside, the maintenance man brought towels out to dry the chairs put an umbrella up at one of the tables and told us that this lady was the meanest human being he had ever encountered and for us to file a complaint. I have never been treated so horribly and felt so helpless. This Experience was unacceptable for a hotel to treat a paying customer that poorly. I am now sick with bronchitis. Do NOT STAY HERE!!!

Room was decent but some things were lacking. Fridge didn't work. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers were empty. Coffee in lobby was empty. Fire alarm went off at 215a. Nobody instructed all rooms to be evacuated. No offer to discount or allow extra checkout time. Price for room night was double others. Only one ice machine for entire hotel.

My husband and I stopped for the night to rest before our long drive back to Michigan and the hotel was great the beds were very comfortable we slept very well no aches and pains from the beds like some beds are kind of hard these were very soft comfortable everything look nice and clean my only issue was that the light switches the one at the door didn't work and then the light switches for the bathrooms were outside the bathroom door but other other than that it was a very nice hotelThe staff is wonderful they are friendly and kind conversation was great my husband asked about restaurants in the area and the receptionist she knew about all the restaurants and where he could get his fish!!

This Best Western is close to the Swamp Rabbit Trail, stores and restaurants, and state parks. The staff is excellent. You are within about a mile of the main road through TR. The hotel is a little older but is clean and well maintained.

The room was extremely small, especially for the price. The bathroom was the smallest I've ever encountered anywhere with one single vanity located directly in the room and the toilet and standup shower located in an area the size of a very small closet. The shower was very small and I doubt a large person could fit and shower comfortably. The in-shower dispenser amenities (soap, shampoo, conditioner) left a lot to be desired. Contents dispensed at barely a trickle. There was not a separate closet area; instead there was a cabinet to hold hanging clothes. This room also had two double beds rather than queen. I don't recall staying at other hotels with bedding smaller than queen. Being in the room felt uncomfortable due to the small size. There were two beds but definitely not suited for more than two people. Not at all suitable for anyone with children - no room for anyone to move about. If you can book at a steep discount and plan to stay only one night, then it should work.

July 10-11, 2021. My Mother was awakened coughing around 12am from smoke & electrical smell that entered our Room. She woke me up. I checked door & opened our door. Hallway was filled with smoke. Fire Alarm sounded. A male guest across the hall from us was yelling "Everything is ok, go back to your Rooms, he said he "accidentally set off the alarm." No Hotel Employees came upstairs to check on the emergency. The smell was not cigarettes, etc. Fire Department came to his room; meanwhile my Mother was having difficulty breathing so I let the FD know. Fire Department called EMS & they said my Mother shouldn't stay in the room & she was transported to the Hospital via Ambulance. Next morning at Checkout the Desk Clerk gave me the Manager's info & told me there was nothing he could do. Offered no apology. Management has refused to give me a refund even though we didn't get to stay in the room! Front Desk/Management couldn't care less about their guests. All they care about is their money. Not you! I wouldn't recommend this Best Western to anyone. The Travelers Rest Fire Department said they get calls out this hotel all the time. Stay somewhere else! Your life depends on it!

I read reviews after I booked and was nervous about staying there since I could not cancel. My experiences was not like anyone who had a bad/negative experience. I was relieved when I saw how clean the hotel was. Nice lobby. Rooms have been updated, few cosmetic issues, but CLEAN! Everyone who worked there was friendly! I would stay there again! Also, this hotel is very close to restaurants!

Employees with zero know of hotel or Best Western. No designated pet rooms. Exceptionally small room with a 3' squared shower, no breakfast, no extras for being a rewards member. The morning I checked out, I was told if I wanted decaf coffee or hot tea, I would need to go to my room to make it. Spend your money wisely and don't stay at this hotel unless management changes!

"A Little Worse Than We Expected"

We simply needed a place to sleep for two days while attending a local wedding. We arrived with fairly low 2-star expectations and were still disappointed. The external building and most common areas seemed neat and clean. Though the rear door we parked near and entered through was propped open with a rock when we arrived and anyone could have entered without a key. Which is a big concern considering what happened the next day. A group of people who were not guests drove up and started smashing a guests truck and calling for him to come out. This was all underneath our 2nd story window and two parking spaces from our car. We didn't see any response from the staff while this was happening. Just a bad scene all around. The staff members we had contact with were very pleasant and helpful. The COVID modified breakfast was fine and actually better than expected. Check-in/check-out was quick and very easy. The room however left a lot to be desired. There were visible crumbs and dirt on the floors and the carpet was stained enough that we didn't feel comfortable going barefoot. The shower had mildew and the toilet seat was only partially secured. The blankets/sheets on the beds had stains and we ended up sleeping on top of them rather than under them. Nothing in the room felt clean enough. We didn't mention anything to the staff as we were very tired when we arrived and suspected that all rooms would be in a similar state. For two nights we slept ok. But I would not recommend this hotel if you want a very clean room or anything of high quality.

Bad shower water pressure, terrible check-in experience, we were overcharged, and the beds were uncomfortable. We stood at the check-in desk for 20 minutes only to learn that they had canceled our reservation and they wanted to charge us extra to make a new same-day one. We had booked our room weeks in advance. Had to argue just to get the original rate.

Called three different phones and email. Would not cancel reservation due to Covid!!!! Tried to them cancel part of the four night stay and was told NO. Profits are more important than safety of the guests and staff. Will not stay at ant Best Westerns in the future.

The hotel was clean and friendly. Wish there were low carb breakfast options but overall we had a very nice stay. No real complaints that I can think of. The only thing I had to deal with was there not being body wash in the container but it was rectified immediately.

I have stayed here previously and it was a really good experience. This time...not so much. There were stains on the sheets, pillow case and floor. There was an odor in the room like stake beer and BO. There is a large sign on the plexiglass when you check in saying that masks are required but the person checking us in wasnt wearing one. I get that breakfast offerings are different during covid, but the Marriott where we stayed after this was offering a hot breakfast and a MUCH cleaner room for less money. Last time staying here for me.

For me, my rating boils down to the room and being comfortable about being there. Turned out… The room appeared gross (stains all over the carpet AND bedding- posted just a sample of pics) and left me extremely uncomfortable about the cleanliness. I would have called the front desk, but there was no phone in the room. My trip was rushed & required me to be out first thing in the morning and turning in late... nearly 4am for one of my two nights. Honestly there was no time & was too exhausted to run down & deal with it... (not to mention... the cleaning had already been left to the cleaning staff... why would I ask for the same). So... I bought Lysol and sprayed everything... literally floor to ceiling including the bedding.... and left it to Lysol and a prayer that it would be ok. I did finally contact the hotel as soon as I had a chance. They offered a few bonus points, but based on this experience, I am not enthusiastic about staying at another one. Definitely won't stay there again and will look at Best Western as a last resort in the future.

Dirty, with barebones service and indifferent staff. Advertises that breakfast is included in the price... NOT TRUE. I know that with Covid hotels have stopped the full breakfast, but most reputable hotels at least have a "grab-and-go" of prepackaged muffins, fresh fruit, and coffee. Although the reservation said "free breakfast," this place wouldn't even give us a bottle of Walmart water, but made us pay for it! Also, I can't understand how NOT cleaning the room, supplying fresh towels, or making the beds supposedly makes it "cleaner" for guests during the pandemic. I thought we had simply been missed by housekeeping, but when I asked I was told they no longer provide maid service; this would have been nice to know before I left wet towels on the counter to be replaced. I had to go down and get them myself, as well as ask for refills for the shampoo and body wash dispensers in the shower, and install them myself. Apparently, most of the hotel is now being utilized as cheap housing for local immigrant laborers (and their families) who all get up at 5:00 in the morning to get ready for work; this evidently requires a lot of yelling to each other in the hallways. (If you somehow miss it, don't worry; there's a repeat performance at midnight.) Unfortunately, there are not a lot of hotel options in Traveler's Rest, but if this "Best" Western is all you have, trust me: it will be worth spending a little more and making a short drive to stay somewhere else, in Greenville or Hendersonville. That is, unless you have to get up at 5:00 to go put roofs on houses.

Extremely dirty, not vacuumed, smelled terrible, everything broken, cannot use fire pit or any services at all. Told by a local resident bums stay in room and paid by town. Stains with crusty stuff on duvet cover, safe did not work. Ok to use fire pit 1st night but not ok on the second and lied why we could not use fire pit. Gave 3 separate stories. I believe it is family run and not overseen with the quality of the franchise or they would be shut down.

If you want rest and sleep don't come to this hotel, it's after midnight for second night in a row and people partying outside and in the hotel and staff does nothing about it. They don't care about customers trying to rest and sleep and just let the parties continue. 2 calls to front desk about noise and nothing was done! If you want to sleep and relax and stay away from the party atmosphere spend your money elsewhere, who ever is running this hotel has turned it into a party hotel!!!

This entire hotel smelled like weed. How this hotel has any positive reviews is mind blowing. The room was filthy. Stained sheets, rusty hinges on doors, laminate on the cheap furniture peeled off. Box spring was ripped and sagging. NEVER again. I seriously could not wait to get home and take a 45 minute shower.

Room 113 had a huge stain on the carpet right beside the bed. The comforter had a strange white stain, which we pulled completely off the bed. Thankfully the sheets were clean. There were blacks specks in the ice cubes from the ice machine.

Have stayed here before=helpful congenial staff. This time: sign at reception to wear mask (we did) staff did not. Reception staff interacted as if we were a bother. Our experience with prepacked breakfast bags: staff did not wear gloves or masks to prepare. Staff member preparing ours spilled one bag on the floor--- picked up items including fresh fruit--- returned items to bag and handed to us--- dirt, germs and all ! That level of customer service sums up our stay! BEWARE: we did not feel welcome & safe and hygienic practices seemed nonexistent!!!

The first room wasn't clean and had a terrible smell. I went to the front desk to left them know. The clerk was very nice and changed my room but the 2nd room wasn't much better in terms of the smell. The carpet has stains and doesn't look very clean. I booked the room through booking.com and the rate was good. Note to self cheaper isn't always better and always stay at a Hampton Inn. Im dealing with it for one night because its nonrefundable and I won't ever stay here again

As loyal Best Western customers we can only say that this motel unfortunately is one of the worst (considering the high price) we ever stayed at. We had to pay 180 $ incl pet fee (they charged us per dog, which is pretty ridiculous given their tiny price, most motels don't charge that much). Without the dog the price per night would have been> 140$ too, way too much for what we got. Unfortunately, there is not that much that we liked... - the rooms are very very small. We had 2 double beds. 1 of them was against the wall and the other one directly at the place where the sink is. Hardly any space left to move around. Well below normal standard size of hotel rooms (and that not in a city center) - Bath room is so tiny. Luckily sink was outside of the bathroom, in which a shower and toilet were crammed almost onto each other. The door from shower did not close very well turning this tiny area into a swimming pool. (it kind of looks like the hotel rooms were designed and somebody forget you also need a bath room which was then still put into it or so) - our biggest issue: the sound isolation/noise level. We had so much noise and could hear the room above us walking around and the people in the room next to us talking until late in the night. Seems like no sound isolation? - i was just in my bed and trying to sleep (around 10 pm?) when there was a fire alarm. As such, that can happen but we were shocked by the un-caring attitude of the staff who did not say a word to any of the customers. They just did nothing. When the 4 fire trucks left, we just like all the other customers went back inside... Again, not a single word from the staff. Reading below reviews this is not the first time this happens... On the good side: the breakfast bag they offer is relatively good compared to what you get in other hotels. Don't recommend this motel.... it is really overpriced.

"Worst Western"

I booked a double room for 10 days. The first room they gave us had horrible mold around the overhead light in the shower (see picture). I immediately went back to the front desk, told him the problem and showed him the picture. He was not concerned at all, said, "oh that is from the water and the heat of the shower." Yes, I know what causes mold to grow...but that does not make it acceptable! The front desk man did immediately give me a new room, but that one was also dirty. The top of one comforter was stained and when we lifted it the sheets were also stained and there was a hair in the bed. There were also what appeared to be cigarette burns on the carpet and what we hope was pizza sauce smeared on the microwave buttons. I took my kids and went to the Hampton Inn down the street and they kindly let me preview a room - what a night and day difference! - and confirmed that they could accommodate our long stay. We booked our room there and I went back to the Best Western to cancel our reservation there. The front desk man was much less helpful this time and told me that: 1) he would have to charge me for three nights' stay no matter what 2) the full 10-day charge had already been applied to my card and 3) he could not fix the charges, he had to wait for his co-worker to come do it and 4) he could not tell me what time she would arrive. Also, 5) he couldn't give me a receipt for the charges...he needed the copy he had for his records. I had him make a copy of the receipt and took that. We never got a follow up call from the Best Western confirming that they had fixed the billing, or apologizing for the state of the rooms or anything. It now appears that they charged us $100 for their inconvenience. Moral of the story: do not stay here. Go to the Hampton Inn instead

After reading the reviews we booked this hotel for two nights with another couple. We got to the lobby to check in and there was no attendant with no sign indicating where they were or what we should do. After ringing the bell numerous times, we called. The attendant arrived apologizing as she was working on the A/C in one of the rooms. We got our rooms and the disappointment continued. Rooms had a weird smell. A/C did working properly in one room. One of the bathrooms had mold in the shower. We were told and it was advertised we would have a breakfast bag as there would be no other breakfast provided. We got a small paper bag with a fruit grain bar and an apple. Nothing to drink. At 2 AM the fire alarm went off. I know these things can happen. What bothered me was the nonchalant attitude the attendant had. He stood by the front door and waited for the fire department. All of the guests were standing around the parking lot. At no time did the attendant do anything! He could have assured us this would be taken care of soon. He did nothing. We checked out the next morning. Very disappointing that the reviews we saw were mostly positive. If we knew then, what we know now, we would not have booked it.

The room looked nice but the bed was very tall for a 5'2 visitor. The sink was also very tall & set so far back that it was hard to use to brush your teeth. The refrigerator door wouldn't stay closed and the A/C unit barely cooled the room. There was a lot of traffic coming and going from the room next door all night.

I have stayed at many hotels. Not only was this one reasonably priced but also the cleanest I have ever stayed! Very quiet. I definitely recommend this hotel and if I'm back in this area I will definitely stay here again.

I had a great stay at this location. Staff was phenomenal. We were given gloves and mask at check in. Hotel was very clean and sanitized throughly through out the day. Was very surprised to see some negative reviews. Entire Staff was very very accommodating and helpful. From front desk to cleaning ladies every one was wonderful. They do not have full breakfast due to Covid 19 restrictions but had to go “breakfast bags”. I will be staying here again next week.

Spent a week at this hotel while visiting relatives in the area. Hotel room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Hotel is close to several very good places to eat in downtown Travelers Rest, and near the Swamprabbit Trail, a paved rail to trails, where you find bikers, hikers and runners of all ages. This hotel is also a short distance from Furman University and Greenville, SC. The only negative was we arrived at the hotel about 2 hours before their 3PM check-in time. As it was pouring rain outside and we had just driven for 10 hours we asked if by any chance our room was ready. We were told it was but if we checked in now there would be a $30.00 early check-in charge. A $30.00 charge for a room that is ready, not going to be used by anyone else as we had it reserved for a week. Makes no sense to me. We had to go back out in the pouring rain find a place to eat and waste an hour and a half, then return. This hotel is a vey good choice if you are in the TR area. Just don't get there early !

We travel to Greenville at least monthly and this hotel is 2 miles from our destination. Only 2 issues. We have not been able to get WIFI in room in 3 months. I have to go to lobby. The last two months there was no shower gel in the dispenser.

We had to get a Hotel in Travelers Rest for a Funeral. The rooms were clean and ready when we checked in. I would suggest the upper rooms (We were on the third floor) as the lower rooms seem to have more wear and tear on them. The staff was great and we got a late check out. It is a convenient location in Travelers Rest with being only a few minutes from downtown. There is a BI-LO within waking distance which makes it extremely nice especially if you forgot something. They also have a well stocked breakfast in the morning.

"Clean but LOUD and small"

This hotel seems relatively new and was clean. The staff was very helpful and professional. But it was loud all the time. It was almost like the walls and doors were too thin. You could hear everything in the rooms around you. Convenient location, but disappointing breakfast with a very small breakfast room. Wouldn't stay here again unless it was a necessity.

The Best Western Travelers Rest gives good value. My elderly sister and I stayed there for a family wedding. The beds are comfortable, the pillows are comfortable, the duvet is comfortable, the breakfast is good, the facility is clean, and in general quite adequate. For people who are short-under 5' 2", getting up on the comfy bed is difficult. The sink area is separate from the toilet/shower, which is great but if there are 2 people with cosmetics, there is not quite enough room for both. The towel bar at the sink is right in front of the sink so if there is a wet washcloth hanging there, your clothes will get wet when you use the sink. The coffee maker tray is placed on the sink counter, taking up valuable space needed when there are 2 people. The coffee maker tray will have to be moved somewhere to fully use the sink area. These are not reasons to avoid this hotel but just an FYI if 2 people are sharing a room. This hotel has gone to soap dispensers in the shower and away from mini-bottles so extra points for taking a step toward less plastic use. We had quiet neighbors but at one point around bedtime, we could hear talking in the next room. I'm guessing the heads of our beds were on the same wall. I always use earplugs so it wasn't a problem.

I travel a lot for business-usually stay at Hilton-related properties. Due to location close to family, we stayed at this Best Western in Travelers Rest. I would rate the front desk staff at this hotel among the top in my experience. Friendly, welcoming, caring, helpful. It's a pretty basic hotel as far as amenities go, but the staff made it super pleasant. PS don't dismiss the restaurants in Travelers Rest in favor of Greenville. Our favorite meals during our stay were Travelers Rest-Shortfields for a casual dinner and Upcountry Provisions for breakfast.

The hotel is very clean and well-kept as well as aesthetically pleasing. Outside provides a great view of Paris Mountain. The breakfast was one of the best I have had. Circumstances required us to travel with our two dogs for the first time. We were pleased to be placed in a dog friendly room on the first floor right next to the back door to easily take them in and out.

The room was very clean. Having a coffee pot and microwave and refrigerator is so nice . The beds were very very y comfortable. The location to get to many place from the hotel was very easy. We went for father's day. The room was nicebut the air conditioning was not cool enough. The shower is very small and they didn't re stock condition and shampoo. The Tv is not smart so you're stuck with cable. The breakfast was ok, except for the juice it was more water than juice so don't drink it, especially the apple juice that is the worst. The really bad experience was the next day when we checked out. Regularly when I go to a hotel I use the pool the last day and rest the days before so I tried to do the same. After 5 or 10 mins of being in the pool area the manager approached us and ask us if we staying or we had checked out so I told her we already checked out and she told us that we couldn't use the pool if were no longer guests and she gave us an hour. I was so shocked that we got dressed and we left. I will never go back, that was very disrespectful and I know she went out there on purpose because we were the only ones in the pool area. Shame on them

There were chip crumbs beneath the desk when we checked in. The ac didn't keep it cool. The shower head was not positioned in a manner that was adjustable and didn't funct well for someone less than 5 foot 5 inches.

Regularly stay at Hamptons when I travel, tried BW because Hampton was full. The welcome at the front desk was super friendly and helpful even though they were busy and fully booked for that night. The room was very clean, I was pleased that it looked exactly like I am accustomed to at Hamptons. More time in the room revealed differences that impact the stay, but are not hard to fix. First, the soap/shampoo dispensers in the shower don't work and are really tacky. Second, I'm used to every room having a light blanket which I use because the comforters are suffocating. This room didn't have a blanket, the front desk searched all over for one (like I said, super helpful), but only came up with a lighter comforter that was still too warm. Third, the AC is limited to a low of 66 degrees and the room does not feel that cool when set at 66, The room had a good sized refrigerator and a microwave. Breakfast was standard hotel fare, adequate. BW will be in the mix for future hotel considerations.

We strayed here for a couple of days and it was very practical and clean. It was really quiet and the room had a big window so we got natural light coming to the room with view of the landscape. We had a restful stay for a great value also in the front desk helped us with all the needs we had.

Checked out 2 days early because of weather. Told them I was leaving at 5:00 AM They told me because I booked though Expedia they could not credit me. Then I called back on a Monday to talk to manager and I was told that they never checked me out. This was a busy weekend mother's day. I know that room was rented out again. I left on a Thursday they charged me through Sunday.

I agree with previous posts....very noisy...Called the front desk at midnight to express my concerns...the folks next door seemed to quiet down,but were up again at 7am gettting ready to leave...I have family in school at Furman and will be back to visit...definitely will not stay at this hotel.

Our stay here was terrible! We stayed 2 nights we know sleep ! Had rooms that multiple people staying with doors slamming all night long ! Informed staff at no avail! This motel has little to no sound barrier! We will not be back ! Good luck if you do !

This hotel is clean, staff is friendly, rooms are comfortable, but small. Only improvement would be guest laundry facilities and bathtub for small children. I would definitely recommend this hotel and plan on staying again in the future.

could not sleep with the loud band of kids. the staff was not able to quite the kids on Friday and Saturday. they kids practiced in the halls and gathered in the lobby. the staff showed no concern or empathy for our issue.

Needed to cancel reservation due to weather canceled event at local college. Called 10 minutes after 24 hour noticed. Called hotel they refused to cancel and charged my credit card the next day. Front desk told me to call home office as I made reservation on line so they could not cancel. Called home office and was told it was up to the hotel.(all individually owned) called hotel again spoke to a manager who said “no” company policy rule. Poor customer service.

Great place to stay in Traveler Rest, nice staff, clean motel, clean room. We arrived late with no reservation but no problems with getting a room on the third floor. Apparently animals are not placed in third floor rooms, so no odor or hair to deal with. The bathroom was clean, linen was clean and no noise issues since we were not on the street side. The breakfast bar was better than normal for a motel breakfast. The scrambled eggs seemed to be made from fresh eggs?

It is not a five star hotel but if you need a decent and safe place to stay in Travelers Rest then give it a try. I've stayed at both of the big name hotels in town and the BW is the better value by far. You are paying for the name only at the other place.

"Noisy rooms and messed up reservation"

Due to medical needs, I reserved an accessible room with a roll-in shower. Upon check-in, I was told none were available (their only roll-in shower room had been rented by same person over a month, thus it wasn't available when I made reservation) The rooms have no sound proofing between floors... just simple walking across their floor above sounded like a stampede. Worst I have ever experienced. Also, the second floor corridor is open to the lobby below and you could hear everything going on in the lobby while in your bed. I could hardly sleep all night.

"Great location to downtown Travelers Rest"

While this is not within walking distance of Travelers Rest it is a short drive. Newer hotel, immaculate, friendly service and dog friendly. Smaller rooms with a desk and one chair and one arm chair tucked in a corner- it made it cozy when we brought back a pizza for dinner (we needed to eat in as we were traveling with our dogs). They provided great local information and even let the dogs come for breakfast. Will definitely return.

Hotel was a great choice to stop and rest at. Employees southern hospitality is very charming and delightful being it was my first time in South Carolina. I most definitely need to return. Breakfast had a great assortment of options provided by Dawn. ( I hope that's her name).

Economically this hotel is a great deal being located in the middle of Furman University and North Greenville University. I highly recommend it for friends and family of current or upcoming college students. Staff members Rhonda and Amanda was a pleasure to meet and have handle my check in and check process.

Very nice clean hotel for the price and being located right off of the highway,which made it easy to get to Swamp Rabbit Trail and other attractions. Front desk clerk Rhonda was not only informative about the area,but also very kind to answer a hundred different questions I had. The complimentary breakfast was great especially the fresh fruit and scrambled eggs.

This hotel was spotless, from the elevator, to the lobby, to the halls, to the rooms, this was one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. There was plenty of parking. Our room on the third floor was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Breakfast was available every morning and there was a free beer happy hour during the evening. No bar, but a free beer or two available at the front desk. It is easy to get to and very near a shopping center and decent restaurants. It's not too far from the Swamp Rabbit bike trail which also has several good independently owned places to eat and drink. This hotel is a class act.

Great comfortable affordable hotel. At check in I was greeted by the desk clerk Rhonda and she surly made my trip less stressful by helping me get all the info I needed for my unplanned trip. On the following morning Rhonda worked the breakfast area and it was great. I needed some more info or should I say I literally needed help and she gladly took her time to help me. As I left that morning she wished me a well day and told me to call her if I needed anything else. I checked in as stranger and checked out feeling like family. More hotels could use such friendly caring staff as this little town in Travelers Rest South Carolina has.

The front desk clerk was more that helpfull to make sure we got checked in and settled in. Very helpful, friendly, and accomodating. Great service, Thanks Room was fine, clean, comfy, warm. They have a small happy hour 5 - 7 PM in the lobby and breakfast is offered in the morning. Don't see any parking for semi's here.

This hotel was extremely nice! All the staff was very friendly. The rooms are nice and have very comfortable beds. I loved the decorations and how everything was set up, both in the rooms and in the lobby. The breakfast was also top notch. Love the fact that you can check in late as well. We only stayed for a night, but would definitely book this hotel again whenever visiting the area. Only suggestion I have is to clean the showers a little better

Have stayed at this location multiply tim s due the value. Things that you will have over look when staying at this location. Noise in the hallways and between walls due to thin doors and walls between rooms.Front desk is not organized and most of the time you will not get the room you had reserved. Zachary and Nicole were awesome! Large group in town for a family wedding. We needed a place to visit and hang out. They were very accommodating and super friendly! Only wish there was a room with a door we could have used so we weren't bothering any other guests.

Upon checking in our room smelled like paint primer. Our other friends said their room smelled like cat pee.Seems like this place has some real issues. Rooms are super small. Seems like they are using paint to cover up mold.Do not stay here.

There was no cold air in the roomWhen asked front desk for help they brought us fan and lied that they did not have another room to move us to.I checked online there were rooms available Next day after sleepless night that was the reason I got a hotel to sleep I did not even get a refund or any free stays for such inconvenience. I spent lots of money for that night for sleep and I did not get money back for not room where I could not sleep.It was dusty, I was sneezing a lot and had to take allergy medicine.

Upon check-in Pat was wonderful at the front desk she was quick and efficient my husband asked for a quiet room because we had been traveling for 13 hours we got a quiet room but as soon as we walked in the room there was this horrible horrible smell We called the front desk and they said that had been recently painted it was paint that we were smelling me and my husband knew that it wasn't paint and they did not even offer to change our room or anything we had to deal with that and the beds were so firm they hurt our backs we didn't get much sleep between the awful smell and the hard bed.

My husband and I are in from the coast and had to evacuate during the hurricane. After long hours and lots of traffic getting greeted by Rhonda the front desk clerk was a breath of fresh air. She was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others!

For a stay in this price range it was a good value. Having stayed at two other different chains we were getting tired of the "run down" places. We also wanted to be closer to friends and so booked a room at this Best Western in TR. Very happy we did and have already booked a return trip. Staff were friendly and rooms were clean. pool area is perfect little get away - nothing fancy needed and calm place to read or let the kids swim. Breakfast was convenient. Showers are small but serviceable, rooms seem spacious. Definitely recommend.

The mildew smell in this hotel first floor was so bad we checked out even though we had prepaid. My wife and I had scratchy throats and a headache within 15 minutes. there was black mold behind the toilet and along the shower. After I complained they showed us a renovated room 3 away and the mildew smell in the room was as bad. We packed up and made another reservation at a hotel in Greenville. They had the nerve to send the housekeeper after us to explain it was her fault. My wife took videos and pics, we contacted corporate and they offered no refund just a gift card for a future stay. Do your self a favor and stay at another hotel, in 30 years of travel I have never had this happen and will stay away from Best Western for ever

We stayed at this motel with a small pet. The beds were very comfortable. The size of the room was good. The breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast and was okay. I thought it was a little overpriced. There were air conditioning units in the hallway, but they had them locked to a higher temp. The hallway was hot and muggy.

This is a new hotel with clean and modern room and facilities. We picked this hotel for this proximity of Table Rock State Park. The employees were friendly. Breakfast was included. It was overall a good pick for a night.

After a rough nights stay in another chain hotel the previous night, we were very happy with our stay at the Best Western in Travelers Rest. The Lobby was very inviting with snacks out when we left to go out for the evening. The staff was friendly & helpful and the room was clean and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The room was quiet and we enjoyed sitting by the pool with our morning coffee after breakfast. Breakfast was good although the breakfast room could have been a little cleaner. My only complaint was a stain on a decorative pillow and the carpet seemed a little dated. However, We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is a smaller property with smaller but very nice rooms. The bed is very comfortable and the room is clean and cozy. The vanity is outside the bath which is nice for two people sharing room. The under window built in air conditioner was fairly quiet and had digital temperature setting. The breakfast room was small but very clean and the lady working was constantly restocking and cleaning tables. The selections were good and the hot scrambled eggs and sausage were very tasty/ The best thing about this hotel was the staffft who REALLY tried to make you stay great. Everyone greeted you, smiled and was very helpful recommending restaurants and places to see. They even printed out maps! Everyone was great amd I wish I knew all the names and who was who. Rhonda was very friendly, worked hard and was very nice to all. Malvi was terrific, tpp. They even gave me a birthday card and cupcake when I left. Where else would you get that! I will return and I hope you all give this place a try.

Once I found the front desk the overall experience with the staff was great. They are nice and very helpful answering my questions. The room was a nice big surprise! I thought it was a "normal" 2 Queen bed room but this had a sitting area: L-shaped couch, ottoman, coffee area with sink, writing desk. The other part had the Queen beds, small closet, sink area and very small bathroom. Very nice room! Small and not too clean pool outside with towels supplied by hotel. Lobby had a small bar where you could also buy Starbucks coffee although it really didn't taste like it. The hotel and grounds are kept very clean and landscaped. It's not far from downtown Greenville.

This hotel was fantastic! It's newly renovated and beautiful. The location is great and it's in a really convenient part of town, right in the center! The front desk staff are wonderful. Upon check-in, we were greeted by Hope, who was so helpful and polite. The rooms are clean and the beds are wonderful. We will definitely stay here again when we return to South Carolina!

Absolutely one of the hotels for the price in a small town with friendly faces. When entering the hotel we was greeted with a big smile and friendly face from Rhonda. We had so many questions about this town and she gave us her opinion on all the ups and downs. Taking her advice lead us to having a great vacation with lots of good food,hiking and waterfalls. The location is convenient and the parking lot well lit. Rhonda checked me in, she was very welcoming, friendly, and kind. The hotel is very clean and updated. The lobby is well designed, the water feature was really neat. My second floor Room was small, but perfect for a single traveler. The bathroom features a small enclosed shower, tiny and hard to shave legs in, but clean and stocked with hair and body wash. I would definitely stay here again, but if I was traveling with my family I would definitely ask for a larger room with a tub.

Stay here at risk of being overbilled! Have been working for 3 weeks to resolve a billing dispute! Manager in training even sent an apology and told me a credit had been applied to card- never saw it. Then the General Manager told me no errors had been made. When I sent him the list of charges on my credit card, he promised to get back to me by last Monday. At one point, they had my three rooms at 5. I started alerting them to the problem the second morning of our stay. The morning of my daughter's wedding. I have sent all info supporting my claim. They have sent nothing. Just lies. Still waiting on my more than $200 return on my money!!!!!

We went to visit with some friends who were staying a few nights at BW in Travelers Rest, SC. We did not stay the night but they were and seemed very impressed with the rooms and the delicious breakfast served in the mornings. We meet in the breakfast area that evening and had a wonderful time. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. There was an employee by the name of Rhonda who was very accommodating and kept checking to see if we needed anything at all. This BW was much better than I imagined.

5 night stay booked at bestwestern.com. Rates were reasonable about $80 for week nights. We extended the stay for 2 rooms to 10 nights at their front desk during our stay. They made no mention of rate changes and we were charged up to 50% more than we paid for the same night of the week earlier in the stay. AND they charged 2 different rates for the same type room, for the same night. Same room type, same night, both "booked' (by extending stay) with their front desk, at the same time. When we questioned the rates we were told we booked thru a 3rd party - and they couldn't match those rates. Really, Bestwestern.com is 3rd party for a Best Western? They also kept thousands of dollars pending on our AmEx at the same time they were processing charges for each room each day. 2 rooms 10 days - so thats 20 nights and they treated us like we were asking to stay free when we questioned the rates for extended nights. The owner/ GM Mike Patel doesn't have time for his customers so don't bother him.

I stay at this Best Western every time I go to Travelers Rest to visit my family, so usually 3-5 times a year. I travel alone with my 3 kids. The hotel is nice and clean and safe. The staff is friendly and helpful. The pool is clean and fun with good seats and towels. Breakfast and coffee always hit the spot. The other guests are always friendly and kind. I highly recommend this hotel and will continue to stay here whenever I go to TR. Be sure to join their rewards program for all the extras!

"Not worth it"

We stayed here for 1 night. The night staff was nice and the hotel was updated. We found hair in our sheets more than 1 unfortunately. I was ok with the 1 figured it was the housekeeper but it wasn't. We found about 5 short and long. Last thing I wanted to do when we checked in late was change our sheets. I did go down and they gave me clean sheets but still not what I wanted to do especially after a long day of driving. When we went to shower in the morning 3 of our 4 towels had stains and hairs on them. We all shared the 1 clean towel. The floor had a bunch of stains as well but we just wore our shoes. I will personally never stay here again but it was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

When I first got to travelers rest I was exhausted and needed somewhere to sleep. I'd hoped for a clean room and good staff to help me get the rest I needed. From the front desk I could tell this was where I wanted to be. I also checked in without a reservation as I didn't know where my night would end. I wish I could remember the name of the front desk clerk but I do remember Rhonda. I found that I had forgotten some of my necessary products and Rhonda saved the day. She offered me any assistance she could provide and she did it with pleasure. You can tell when people are polite and don't mean it, they'd rather not deal with guests. The hotel was extremely clean and the appearance was very eye pleasing. ALL of the staff were friendly, accommodating and professional. The amenities and level of comfort regarding the room was the best it could be! I stayed her for an entire 12 days, spending 70% of my time in the hotel and room and I couldn't ask for a better stay, it was great!

Very nice cozy clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. Not knowing the area they guided us to everywhere we needed to go. Breakfast has many delicious options. Comfortable beds with great views. This Best Western is a nice new looking property and convenient for visiting nearby Furman. The beds were comfortable and the room was well appointed with a fridge and microwave. The glass shower was a nice touch not normally seen in this class of hotel. We tried the gym - with a bike, treadmill, and elliptical, it was very small. Breakfast was filling with a couple of hot selections and a waffle maker, as well as the typical continental fare. I would definitely stay again.

My husband, toddler, and I stayed at this Best Western in TR over the weekend for a quick birthday getaway. We booked and paid online the night before and had no issues checking-in or out. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was a lot better than that of another hotel we visited in Greenville this summer, and the overall hotel was updated, clean, and worthy of the price. When we booked online, we asked for a room with the best views (if any), and were placed in a top corner room with wide views of Paris Mountain. Our room looked recently renovated, clean, and simple. As typical with most hotel rooms, it had free WiFi, a TV with cable and HBO, a safe, and a mini fridge and coffee pot. The only issue we experienced with the room was that the bathroom smelled a little musty, and we discovered that the glass shower door let out quite a bit of water on the floor while showering. Within walking distance are BiLo, Little Caesar's, and an Asian restaurant. There are also a lot of cool little shops and restaurants in TR that are a short drive away. We enjoyed our time here and can't wait to get back upstate soon!

We stayed here for one night to attend an event at Furman. It was an easy drive and in an area with many restaurants and stores, but yet off the beaten path. Our stay was quiet. The room was very clean and well lit. (My biggest complaint about most Best Westerns is the lack of lighting.) The breakfast was ok. Staff was friendly.

Location of hotel is perfect due to it being so close to my family. The staff were great and the hot breakfast is so much better than most hotels. But.....the downfalls to this hotel are the price, the room, and the bathroom. The rooms are small, the bathroom only has a shower which sucked because we have young children, the sink has a towel rack installed in front of it so our children could not wash their hands without us picking them up to do so! Also, our pillowcases looked like they were not pulled so they could be washed! How nasty is that! Overall, I am not sure if we will stay again since the hotel is not child friendly.

"Nice visit"

My husband and I followed the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway 11. We started early in the morning in Gaffney South Carolina and traveled the highway for several hours, stopping along the way at different points of interest. It grew late and we began to search for a hotel. We found the Best Western in Travelers Rest. Our room was very clean and it even smelled clean. To be honest, I wasn't afraid to take my shoes off and walk around in my socks like some hotels I've had the misfortune to stay in. It was that clean! The bed was cozy, just what we needed after a day of exploring. The shower was a welcome treat too! Breakfast the next morning was very good. They offered eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits,bagels, gravy, pastries,make your own waffles and cereal. A very nice experience all the way around!

"Small but good"

We stopped at this motel for the night, it had a small breakfast area, friendly staff, beds were soft, coffee good, close to shopping and restaurants. There was a mix up with key to first room, it was already occupied, but was remedied quickly. Good wifi and TV reception. Ice machine on first floor didn't work. I am not a fan of the sink area being opened to the bed area, lack of privacy. But the toilet and shower was behind closed doors.

"Old motel been re-habed"

Employees try hard, but this is rehabed an old motel and it looks pretty good at first sight, but you quickly recognize that it has limitations. Rooms are small, the bathrooms are small and odd...a small toilet & shower room but an open vanity in the bedroom space. Employees were good and helpful, but the breakfast is just the 'ready-made' same old fare. Weak coffee, no flavors selections doesn't leave a good taste in your mouth. Would be better if they really tried to upgrade their breakfast to offset the motel limitations that can't be changed.

"Building codes"

This hotel is very new and the construction of it was evidently at a lower standard than most, I realize that construction is done by code, but this one was built with the lowest ir codes,I believe.. the toilet is the lowest in height than I have ever seen!: The towel rack on the sink is placed directly in front of the sink, which makes it difficult for a 5 ft size person to rinse their face or brush their teeth or even shave without dribbling down their front! The room is quite small and the bed was so high that I had difficulty getting on it! The little room with the LOW toilet only had a single shower, no tub! It is a rather cramped room! and the door had a tendency to stick! All in all I would not consider staying in a Best Western until I found out when it was constructed!! This one is awful!! However, on a good note, the staff was a-One!!! The breakfast was delicious and hot food was hot, etc!

We chose this hotel due to it's close proximity to hiking trails in the state parks. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. The decor was tastefully done and looked like it was done recently. We were welcomed by Tina who was very friendly and informative about the area. She informed us about a "happy hour" between 5-7 which we had never experienced in a Best Western. The rooms were very clean and beds extremely comfortable. They offer a hot breakfast with gluten free and dairy free options. We will definitely be back!

"A gem in the South"

We recently stayed at this Best Western due to its closeness to hiking trails in their state parks. What a pleasant surprise! It also is close to a quaint downtown with many food options and a brewery.The hotel is newly decorated with amenities you don't see at other Best Westerns. They offer a "happy hour" with cocktails and appetizers. Breakfast also has gluten free and dairy free options. The mattress was extremely comfortable.The staff is very welcoming and personable. We will be back next year!!

"Our great stay at the Best Western"

This Best Western was very nice and very clean. The staff were super nice and very friendly yet professional. We loved that there was a "happy hour" in the lobby in the afternoons. It was nice to have a glass of wine after a day of travelling. We used to stay at another hotel in Travelers Rest but after staying at the Best Western, it will be the only hotel we stay at in Travelers Rest. And it is conveniently located near shopping, restaurants and the main highway through town.

This was a great place to stay. We ended up here accidentally. The coffee and potatoes with peppers were the best I ever had in a Hotel/Motel. The bed was EXTREMELY comfortable. They have re-done/updated the rooms/lobby ect. We used the Fitness room and although this is not something we usually do I feel it was a nice area. I would definitely stay here again !!

"Will Not Return "

I will not return to this hotel. In our reservation we requested a quiet room on a quiet floor not next to the elevator. They put us next to the elevator on an open balcony that gets all the lobby noise. They wouldn't move us when we requested. I asked if we could have extended check out and was told yes for a $30 additional fee. Our room smelled musty and dank and the lavatory sink barely drained. The shower even with door firmly closed leaked a lot of water on the floor. And to top it all off, this morning in the breakfast buffet I saw a spider moving around the food containers. I'll not be back here.

Decent hotel that looks new and clean. Close to main road and easily accessible. The room was fine and the bed was adequate in comfort.The only drawback was the toilet and shower room that were extremely small and hard to maneuver. The floor had some clear stains that should have been removed. Notified the front desk when we left.

Very good hotel. My only concern is the mattress was hard. I stay there on a regular bases while I visit my son there. The value cannot be beat. I am active duty military and I have a set amount on what they will pay for it. For the price, it is a great place to stay.

"A haven in the storm"

As evacuees from Hurricane Irma, we were extremely grateful for caring and helpful staff as well as the lovely rooms. The breakfast was well done, ample, and freshly prepared. The hotel was packed so breakfast was a madhouse, but the breakfast person was friendly, calm,and happy to help with every need. The room is a little small, but I learned to come early before the horde.

Be careful to close your curtain to help avoid glare which could cause a staff member to think your window is open and wake you up accusing you of such and then telling you the next time you could have a penalty fine. she called us twice with that accusation and threat around 2 am. Even though you may have a spectacular view of the moon, do not fall asleep watching it! We did not receive any compensation and my husband was told by one of the managers to just drink some coffee. The bed was very comfortable and other staff is amazing. Charlie and Pat at the front desk are AMAZING. Being woken up was the only thing that ruined this experience and the lack of sleep made the 12 hr. trip home impossible.

Too much emphasis on looks instead of cleanliness, comfort and hospitality. Talk the talk but can't walk the walk. Minimal cleanliness. No security. Bottom floor windows don't lock. Unreasonable staff and management. Can't decide on the house rules. One night stay maybe ok but I wouldn't stay any longer than that.

Found the hotel to be very clean and recently updated with new carpeting throughout. Breakfast was good. Fitness center was small (but how many people use it) but had new equipment, and we were able get in a good workout. The bathroom in our room was very tiny. It is a small hotel, and you could clearly hear everyone nearby showering or walking in the hallway. Overall, I felt it was a pretty good deal for the rate. Would recommend.

excellent and comfortable upgrades in the room. Very cushy bed and soft sheets and comforter. Spacious room for everything. Extremely nice upgraded shower. Very nice television with vivid picture quality. Hotel staff very friendly. Happy hour included daily at no extra charge. Includes choice of beers with cheese, crackers and olives available. Great snack after a full day's hiking in the state parks. Breakfast was plentiful and lots to choose from.

My husband and I spent two days in Traveler's Rest to ride our bikes on the Swamp Rabbit Trail and go hiking. The Best Western was perfect for us. Very clean and comfortable room. Enjoyed having a refrigerator in the room. Bed was very comfortable. Good breakfast - everything from yogurt and fresh fruit to biscuits, gravy, sausage and scrambled eggs. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They even let us bring our bikes into the room! We would definitely come back!

Love the Best Western Travelers Rest. This will be my hotel of choice from now on. Looking to retire in the area,so plan on coming back often and again. Came in for the 2017 Eclipse at 10:30 am to avoid traffic Though no rooms were available 4 1/2 hours early, we were given phenomenal directions on some of the best viewing sights nearby. Dead on! What a wonderful afternoon. Came back to the hotel and it was" Happy Hour". After being awake for 27 hours nothing like the feeling of home. A glass of wine or beer, ,snacks (crackers ,olives cheese) The girls at the front desk can give lessons to each and every hotel out there. Asleep by six pm. Quiet clean room. Following morning-- full breakfast. Not the usual continental. Ham, eggs, bacon, sausage ,bisquits w/ gravy, etc, etc ,etc! Nice to see the local enforcement stopping by enjoying a breakfast too. This is great way of making community relationships too. Can't wait to get back . Thanks Tina you,re the best!

Stayed one night. Location was nice, close to restaurants and grocery store. Big parking lot, clean exterior. Staff at check in weren't the friendliest. Our room was on the 3rd floor. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Wifi worked pretty well. Bathroom was small but decent. The outdoor pool was freezing but at least it was clean. The hallways smelled like old pizza the entire time we were there. Breakfast area was very small. Not enough tables to accommodate more than three families. There was plenty of options to choose from and the food tasted good. Hot and cold variety included eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereal, ham, oatmeal, waffles, fruit, yogurt, pastries, bagels and sausage. It was very crowded when we were there. Lines were forming outside the breakfast room down the hallway. Staff kept the food filled but it was so packed we had a hard time just trying to move around people without spilling anything. We sat in the lobby and ate, which was fine.

Very good customer service. The double room appeared to be dated but very clean. There is not much sound proofing between upper floors so you hear a lot of heavy walking noise from the room above ours which was bothersome to us. Also we paid a stiff fee for staying during the solar eclipse but that was to be expected. Breakfast average but clean and good. The weight room and pool area very clean.

Damp room, thin walls w noisy halls....less than helpful staff. Checked out and was charged 300.00 for having a pet in the room. I do NOT own a pet and was charged without any staff person ever speaking with me. I called several times and was unable to speak w anyone who could help me resolve this issue. My credit card company denied the ABSURD charge.

Rooms were clean, beds comfortable the only problem was the a/c in the room. No matter how low we turned it down to, it never got cold. But, none the less, it was comfortable enough to sleep. Breakfast bar was good. Had a nice variety and wasn't filled with all carbs and sugar items like some hotels. Best Western has a new look and is definitely a value. Will look for this hotel first in all the future cities we travel to.

Had dirty sheets on check in. Took 30 minutes for someone to come and clean and would not let us change rooms. The manager, Mr Patel was extremely rude and really did not want to hear what we had to say. We told him we had pictures of the dirt and hair in the bed and he did not care!

Ok value; just renovated hotel that is 2 miles from Furman University. Rooms are nicely decorated with new mechanicals. Some of the renos are a bit shabbily done, but nice location, friendly staff - a good value.

Get this> drove all day in traffic from Virginia, as soon as I checked in the young lady offered me for free and ice cold beer, we travel and stay at a hotel approximately 20 times a year and you just don't see the cleanliness, the hospitality as the BW has shown! Poor customer service, hotel double booked and tried to ask some of our group to leave. Charged multiple credit cards way more nights than we were even there. Rooms are very damp and moldy. Our clothes, shoes and bedding were damp.

We have stayed at this BW several times over the past year, enjoyed it. But when booking trip for August was told it is NO LONGER PET FRIENDLY. Very disappointed as we travel with our fur baby. Our Don & family live in TR & this was like 5 minutes away, however we ended up traveling to Greenville staying at another hotel. Very disappointed that this hotel changed its pet policy. Even though this web site & another particular one that is called Bring Fido, we will be notifying them also.

From the moment we waked into the lobby it was welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised to walk into the lobby and see a modern, see-through, gas fireplace. On another wall there is a tranquil wall, waterfall! Marlena checked us into our room. She was so sweet and helpful. Offered us wine (it was happy hour) and gave us a great recommendation on a restaurant. The hotel and room was very clean and up-to-date, not shabby looking at all. Our room had a lovely view of Paris mountain and had all the elements needed for a hotel room. Our room included a desk area, microwave, nice size refrigerator, in room safe, good amount of drawers and closet storage and a comfortable kings-size bed. The only downside is the walls are thin and you could hear noise outside the room, Suggest packing earplugs.

When I arrived, I was blown away by the renovations that have occurred at the best Western in Travelers rest South Carolina. Almost immediately after check in, part of the city was hit with a power outage. Charlie at the front desk made sure that all of our needs were taken care of and even made suggestions for a Local restaurant to enjoy while they were waiting for power. What a difference a kind, professional, and attentive representative can make when most would be frustrated at the circumstances that occurred beyond anyone's control. Thanks for a great stay!

Stay here I highly suggest it. Comfortable bed, great breakfast, clean building. A little better customer service from the check in crew but the rest of my stay made it easy for me to forget. Close to where I hiked, close to downtown Greenville where I saw a baseball game. Great location.

I visited greenville for family trip Intire greenville was sold out so I took chance with this place they have last room available paid pretty penny for it :( I was amazed to see regular best western this great upgrades this place recently renovated They have best beds and crystal clear TV channels great wifi above all breakfast was A+ ginger did great job keeping my coffee filled up also they are very clean and neat place I'm coming back in fall I can't wait to visit this place and enjoy their fire pit out back I have forgot my wallet with cash credit cards and id's they have keep it in safe and and send it in mail with no extra expenses

So close to everything we wanted, nature, shopping and fine dinning. Room and hotel were clean and modern. The breakfast was outstanding. We hope to make it an monthly event there. The fitness center had what we needed. I also felt very safe, which for me is a huge thing . My room was very accessible and they even had a left chair to help get in and out of the pool.

Hotel is okay until you have a little problem. Staff will not help resolve the issue. I had a wifi problem. The wifi code I was given was wrong. When I tried it a few times I was locked out of the wifi system. Had the code been typed, I could have read it. When I was locked out the lady at the front desk simply refused to do anything to help. Actually telling me she could do nothing. Nonsense! She just didn't want to help.Made all the worse because I had a work deadline I then missed.

BW Travelers Rest is fine if you just need a bed for the night. The accommodations are average. Not bad, but not exceptional. When the serviced the room they did the bare minimum. They forgot to restock cream/sugar and coffee. Just made the bed and picked up the towels.

This hotel is in a great location close to NGU. Our room had a weird odor when we entered. We dealt with the first night but the second day we had to switch rooms. The hotel staff was going to charge us extra for changing rooms but when we complained she didn't charge extra. Overall, the hotel is nice with a good breakfast. The shower doors leak some which made the floor slippery but was a big clean shower. A little pricey but not much to choose from in this area. It was close to restaurants which was nice.

This hotel was a nice surprise! We were traveling for a tournament at North Greenville University and this was 15 minutes from school. Friendly staff, great breakfast, clean rooms and even background music playing in the hallways was a nice touch! Modern lobby with large tv, fireplace and cool furniture. Rooms were nice, beds comfy but doubles not queen size.

The breakfast buffet had everything you could want. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The biggest surprise was in the bsthroom. In the shower enclosure, attached to the wall, was a dispenser holding both shampoo and body wash. I had never seen this in a hotel on this level. This was a winner to me. Would not hesitate to stay here again and would gladly recommend this Best Western to any and all.

Great new rooms, but their goal is to get you up early and get you out. They are noisy and loud and are looking just for the next guest- and I'm only talking about the staff. It's a shame because the newly designed rooms are very comfortable.

I have to say that I was not expecting what I experienced due to previous stays here. The hotel has been completely refurbished and completely to my approval. Very nice hotel. The lobby, hall, rooms, pool and breakfast area were very clean and tastefully decorated. The 2 ladies I delt with were extremely accommodating and cordial (they are Charlie and Gloria) thank you Ladies for your kindness. Best Western needs to hold on to these 2 employees. Every one there was busy doing there jobs. Very professional. My wife and I will definatly stay here again. I even received a phone call from Charlie on my drive home making sure check out went well for me, that's what I call accommodating. Thank you, Thomas and Brenda Mansfield, Titusville, Florida.

This hotel was new and therefore fairly clean which I appreciate very much. The bed was very comfortable. I will say the quality of renovations was somewhat lacking in some areas-the caulking in the bathroom was pretty rough. Torn wallpaper was painted over in the room-dumb stuff that could have looked nicer if it was properly done. The continental breakfast was more than I expected; a nice variety and area was very clean and well stocked. Ginger Arnold, the hostess for breakfast was very pleasant and helpful. Gloria at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. I only had one issue with a front desk person in the evening who was irritated with something and got snippy and rude with me. Other than that, the stay was pleasant.

Stayed here for two nights with a large group. There were some issues with reservations but all turned out well. Miranda(sp) was a pleasure to deal with and handled it with a smile. The hotel is immaculate! Nice workout room for the size. Ginger did an amazing job with breakfast each morning!! One of the best small breakfast buffets! Rooms were humid which was odd because our thermostat was set to 72. The papers in the room were damp because of all the moisture. Bottom line:great value and even better staff.

We were expecting OK, but not great based on reviews and past experiences. I've stayed in expensive hotels and moderately priced hotels. You usually get what you paid for. This BW was excellent in all regards. We were a group of 3 couples renting 3 rooms. All of us were impressed. A very pleasant surprise indeed.

The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable but there were issues that would prevent me from staying there again. The room was very humid despite running the air conditioner all night. I made sure it was on the proper high cool setting, not just the fan. The temperature was turned down to about 70 which is about 4 or 5 degrees colder than we usually have it set at our house but it still felt very damp and humid which caused me not to have a good night's sleep. The shower stall didn't have a shelf for personal toiletries. It comes with a dispenser for shampoo (no conditioner) and a dispenser for body wash. There was no where to put a bar of soap, shaving cream, razor, etc. Also, the sink is not in the bathroom, it's in the bedroom so if you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night keep in mind that you risk waking up any other person in the room when you have to turn on the light to wash your hands! Last, the dining area is very small. My husband and I had to eat breakfast at the computer desk because there were no seats in the dining area or lobby.

I've always found Best Western to be a good hotel, but this place was so disappointing! We had 2 rooms, both on the 1st floor. Cars were parked directly in front of our rooms, which meant we couldn't open the curtains. Then, we could hear the people on the 2nd floor walking overhead! The walk-in showers had no shelves or grab-bars, and you couldn't even adjust the showerhead; it was a box with a drain and a door that didn't fully close, so the water got all over the floor. My brother's room had a faulty toilet, and he killed a roach on the wall and left for the mgmt. to see. All the locals told us we should have stayed at the Hampton Inn!

Everything was great. Charlie at front desk really helped us out-BIG TIME. She is great front person for Best Western. We booked two Best western rooms at wrong location, through ORBITS, and Charlie called them, and got our money back, and two rooms there where we wanted them.

We were much impressed with this hotel. It had been recently remodeled...stayed there before when it was a Sleep Inn. The change was stunning! The décor was beautiful, the continental breakfast was fabulous, and the staff was extremely friendly. Everything was top notch! We will be staying there when in the area again. We've been working in the area and stayed here twice. When greeted by the staff at the front desk Charlie made us with a smile. The rooms look brand-new, the beds were super comfortable but when you're working out of town and somebody treats you like family it makes you feel like you're home!!

I stayed in Room 117 and it was great. It did not have a great view, but I was gone all day and early evening so it did not matter. The room was large, clean, filled with all the amenities rooms should have. The king size bed was wonderful! I am betting it was new. The staff was on duty, I mean on duty 24 hours a day! If you needed any kind of help or assistance they were there to help you. The breakfast was bountiful and in a pretty and clean dining space, much larger than a room. The flowers, fountains, and updated modern décor making staying here delightful. When you leave you will be wanting to return soon. Do not miss the Town of Traveler's Rest either, the restaurants are shopping are outstanding. I went to do some work at Forman University and fell in love with this little town and it's people.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while visiting my mom in a nearby hospital. It was in a great location~close to everything I needed for the trip. The room was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. It was nice to be able to have a little breakfast each morning which Ginger did a nice job of setting up. The only drawback I could mention would be the thin walls and floors which made for not such good nights' sleep.

My daughter and I were greeted cheerfully by Charlie at the front desk. We chatted about our college road trip and she gave us directions to the next days visit. The room was clean and comfortable, but I noticed that the ice machine next to us was a little loud for me and thought it might keep me up. I went down to see Charlie. They didn't have another room like ours so she gave us a bigger room. No problems, no extra charge. Charlie saved the day! Nice, quiet, and comfortable room. Great experience!

We arrived at this hotel and we're greeted by Marlene and Charlie! They were very professional and welcomed us. It was happy hour and we stayed in the lobby for a beer and relaxed. Marlene also helped us pick a place for dinner, and she did an awesome job, we loved the place she sent us! Great way to welcome us to town!

The first room we were given had pubic hair in the shower and feces stains on the comforter. The floor was filthy. The sink was dirty. The condiments or half-empty. We reported this to the front desk and given another room... The second room was a bit cleaner. I wiped the floor around the toilet and took the dark dirty towel with urine and someone else's hair down to the front desk and the reaction was I'm really sorry. The fact that this seemed normal was shocking . I was not offered another room or for anyone to come clean the room. I don't think you should pay $90 to clean your own room. I did not sleep at all because I was worried about putting my face or someone else's body parts were the night before and having someone's body fluids On My Feet and shower. I wish I had just slept in my car.

The lady at check in (light red hair) was very helpful the hotel has been redone and has a pretty lobby. The bed was great. At breakfast the juice container was overflowing and the woman who came to help did not seem too happy yo be there and was a little rude. But still would stay again and recommend

"The BEST Best Western"

Right from the start the staff was so friendly and helpful. I have never been to Travelers Rest and they nicely answered all my questions. The housekeepers did a great job with the rooms and were so sweet to give me extra towels when I asked. The hotel itself is beautiful. They even have a fire pit out back! How many hotels have that! We didn't have to waste money on breakfast because they had a huge buffet style breakfast that was delicious. And the evening managers special was just too cool. We didn't want to leave and almost extended our stay because we were so comfortable. Believe me, I'm telling everyone to come here and my friends and I will definitely be back soon.

We really enjoyed our stay in this place , hotel was beautiful & staff was friendly and helpful. I recommend this motel , we were only two for two night , but will revisit again when we come back in travelers rest , sc and also breack fast service is really nice ,

"Eventful Stay"

Room clean but small staff very helpful but found beds too high to be comfortable. Fell out of bed injured self. Staff was very helpful during this emergency. Have stayed here before renovations will not return. Breakfast missing eggs due to miss ordering for holiday weekend. Other selections contained too much salt for diet.

We underwent a million dollar renovation to improve every aspect of the hotel. The beds are all state of the art, Beauty Rest double pillow top. This is the reason they are a bit higher than normal. Most of our guests have found our beds to be the best. I am sorry you fell off of the bed during your sleep. We made sure to give you an extra 1000 BWR points to help make up for any inconvenience. We have a very large breakfast selection. We unexpectedly sold out over that particular weekend and miscalculated our breakfast supplies. These issues have all been taken care of. It's a great place to stay at. As soon as you enter in the hotel you are received with a friendly tone. The breakfast was good, and the housekeeping was so nicely when I asked for a crib for my daughter. Good breakfast. I can't wait to plan my next weekend in Greenville and stay at the Best Western...

"Good sleep nice breakfast !!!"

We were traveling for a church related work and we had to stay at this hotel that was the best division we made by choosing to stay at this hotel. Everyone was very warm and welcoming had a good stay the rooms were very clean all the amenities were beyond the expectation. Out car wouldn't start so the General Manager of the hotel gave us a ride to the church so we wouldn't miss our program, they went out of their way to help us. Checking in and checking out experience was very easy and smooth they were friendly and explained everything. Best part of the stay was the breakfast. Large buffet selection more items to choose from and breakfast attendance was very welcoming with bright smile.

Staffs are very friendly and helpful, everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish. excellent service breaks was great. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.

I stayed with my daughter and it was more than I expected.. everyone extremely friendly, rooms very very clean , breakfast was a restaurant style , very large selection to choose from, they even open up the juice machine late evening for my baby , staff very helpful and well trained in from housekeeper to front desk clerk everyone was working with bright smiles on the face and that says about the place. We loved the fire pit and enjoyed hanging out late evening. It was safe. Nice experience at this place and I will definitely take my family again and stay at this hotel.

First off this is NOT a luxury hotel, nor do they have high prices. It is an economy hotel and on that basis it is just fine and clean and they are trying hard. It is nonsmoking totally, which is wonderful. I am not an economy hotel person so I rather they had made some other choices in the remodel and breakfast, but at $90/night it is not a fair comment. 1) the toilets are far to low to the floor, they should of gone for higher ones 2) The towels are very small and not very thick 3) The King room standard is fine size, adequate, but not large 4) Wi-Fi is great and every room has a HUGE fridge micro etc, iron, very well though out for the business or vacation travelers who might stay a week 5) Breakfast has more than I expected, but would of like an egg dish, but they had waffles! 6)Bed is very nice with lots of pillows 7) free papers at he desk in the AM0 Staff very friendly

"If You're Going to a Clemson Game"

This hotel used to be a Sleep Inn, but is now a Best Western. We chose it several years ago because of the proximity to Clemson and the mountains of NC, meaning it's on the way after a game. The other reason we like it is because, unlike all the hotels in Clemson and Anderson, they do NOT double the price or double the number of nights you have to stay here on a game weekend. AND you can cancel just 24 hours before. That helps a lot when they don't announce the time of a game until Monday or Tuesday of the week we play. Everything is all brand new in each room, with the mattresses and the linens being lovely!!! They could leave more towels in each room, and I do wish they had opted to build a real closet rather than have wardrobes, but the front desk said there simply was not room enough for that except in the suites. But it's all VERY nice! There is even an outdoors firepit! I will say that the installation of the shower panels did leave something to be desired...they figured a caulk gun would cover all their mistakes in measuring, even if it meant using two different colors of caulk!! And the breakfast offered is quite adequate, but only if the person in charge keeps up with what needs to be refilled.

The GM and Asst. GM were very accommodating upon arrival. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Overall, we had a very nice stay and we would definitely return to this hotel when staying in TR.

"Lipstick on a Pig"

The hotel looked very nice in photos - the renovation looked modern, chic, and very cool. However, upon checking in the first thing we noticed were all the shady characters hanging around, who always seemed to be loitering in the halls. Once we entered our room we were hit with a nasty odor, and found that while the updates selected for the renovation were actually very nice (quartz counters, high end tile, etc) the workmanship was the worst we've ever seen. There was grout and caulk all over the place, cracks, spots all over the tile floor, toilet felt like it was going to disconnect from the floor at any second, and did we mention the smell???? I know we got a pet friendly room (which was about the size of a closet btw), but I wouldn't expect a stench to hit me in the face, especially considering the floor was all tile. They did serve a nice breakfast and offered free beer at happy hour, but overall we felt very uncomfortable in this hotel. It felt dirty and you could hear EVERYTHING above and around you. Seriously, there must be no insulation between the walls at all. This should have been more like a $50 room than the $109 we paid. Very disappointed and would not stay here again.
