Best Western Plus Orlando East- UCF Area

Room flooded due to plumbing issue, called front desk and was told someone would come but never did. Went and visited the desk and was told there is no maintenanceperson available nor manager on call. We were on the 3rd floor and water was raining into the breakfast area on the first floor directly under our room. Ruined my wife's on cloud shoes. Also mold on blinds, door handle for bathroom was falling off and had no lock. Our room had a split room door that has no sweep under it so you hear everything from the room next door and if their lights are on it will light up your room. Worst stay ever and will never give another dime to best western after how they have handled the situation.

The most annoying problem here was that there was NO housekeeping after 10am! That is about the time we leave our room for the day, when we expect it to be clean when we get back. They would not even deliver towels to our room. I had to go pick them up at the desk along with anything else we needed. Sometimes they did not even have what we needed at the desk. Very frustrating problem that made a pretty good hotel one that I may not be able to use next time. They only gave me water when I asked on check in, but had trouble getting another bottle when the room refrigerator froze our water. (yes, we put it on a lower setting, but it froze everything in there for 3 days.) Staff was friendly. This place could be a very good hotel if they kept housekeeping staff on a few hours longer. COVID excuses no longer apply.

Stayed 12/28-1/2. The room was much larger than it appeared in pictures. Very clean. If traveling with small kids, it only had a standing shower so be warned. It was not an issue for my family. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was great, nothing was old or gross looking. Many food options within a 2-3 min drive. NYE the restaurant/bar across the street was a little rowdy but the staff made sure they did not come into the hotel and you could not hear the noise inside at all. I genuinely had a great experience and so did my family.

A regular small budget hotel to stay 1 or 2 nights. Friendly staff. Good management skills but needs improvement.Clean and comfortable for the price. I still rate it 3 stars but the fact is that the hotel needs some restoration in some areas.

Why is so plus about the Best Western Plus?? This place smells so badly of mold and weed in the hallways. The breakfast is so basic, cold cereal, a toaster, powdered gross eggs, waffles. Fan in the bathroom didn't work. Unusually cold night in FL and the heater didn't work. When you're in town for a family funeral you don't need or want to deal with things wrong, you just want a clean quiet place to sleep. Party central and street races out the front door at The Bounce House - stay away from this place!

Pleasant stay. Was able to sleep after spending a full day of racing when I got up in the morning. Breakfast was ready and was very feeling and adequate. Best stuff in the atmosphere of the hotel lobby were great.

The bathroom floor was dirty and made a mess when wet. Black streaks (mold?) around tub with sagging ceiling in shower. Towels thin as paper. Barely slept with rowdy guest running and yelling in hallways at 3:30am! The hotel is across from a dance club! Breakfast not available until 7am. Would not recommend.

we like to stop in Orlando by UCF as my son graduated there. we will be moving to Ocala real soon and we stay in Orlando to shorten our trip back to Boca Raton. Really let us relax on our way back home

The room was so humid and damp, smelled like mold and mildew. My clothes and papers were wet after returning for the day. I was not able to get a good night's sleep. I am very disappointed that I didn't stay at the Hilton next door.

Room was clean and nice enough. Be sure to request the bag with the sheets, pillow and blanket if you have a pullout. Also, request no hair if you don't want that included. Water pressure in shower is a joke and it drains very slowly…like the pressure. Be sure to let them know if you want your room made up - it's not automatic. Brand new coffee maker didn't work.

There were good and not so good things I experienced. Let's begin with the good. The front desk personnel (Ms. Catherine the front desk manager and Tre) were super friendly and helpful. They shared best places to eat and did not mind the daily extra towel requests. I enjoyed breakfast each morning and was surprised at the variety of things to eat. The breakfast nook was always clean. Gisela, the woman attending breakfast is a gem. She was the sweetest most hard-working person I've ever met. The not so good. The elevator was out of service for most of my stay. I got my exercise in being that room was on the 3rd floor. I even got stuck in it. Thank goodness the elevator never left the first floor. My room door was difficult to close as I had to use my body weight to get it to lock. Lastly, my bathroom door would stick, and I feared getting stuck in there, so I had to leave it a little ajar. The personnel made my stay bearable. Sounds worse than it was but my stay was not so bad yet could have been better. If the necessary repairs are made, I would stay here again.

Would definitely stay here again. Flew into Orland int'l. and needed a place to stay for the night before heading to our destination. Easy to get to, clean and up to date. Will put this on my list to stay again.

I made a reservation for one night for two rooms. When I checked out the next day, there was a charge on each room receipt for two nights, with a credit being shown due for one night for each room. When the shares went through for both nights, I called the hotel and spoke to the "front desk manager" who was rude and absolutely refused to assist in any way and told me that she would not refund the charges for the second night for either room. Avoid this hotel at all costs!!

Dismal lodging, old and outdated and unclean. Plan on eating breakfast somewhere else. My dogs eat better food than what is served here. This place is trash, the posted pictures are far from accurate. The only bright spots here are the staff. They are very friendly and do the best they can given the complete mess of a workplace they have. As a business traveler spending many nights in hotels, I have come to not expect much from most places, but even my low standards found this place to be little more than a Motel 6 but at twice the cost.

The staff was beyond courteous and the breakfast service was outstanding! I paid for early check-in and was taken care of like a VIP. Rooms were modern and very clean. Internet and smart TV Highly recommend!

Sink leaked in room, toilet paper holder was loose and toilet paper kept falling on the ground, not enough towels in room for the amount of guests, when the extra towel requested it took 6 hours to be delivered, the internet was very slow and had many interruptions, no sugar at breakfast bar for coffee on Saturday or Sunday and lady in charge of breakfast had a very bad attitude when asked to refill sugar, she simply said "NO." The person at the front desk stated, "Well we must not have anymore and did not take the time to check or confirm with the lady in "charge" of breakfast area. Last, hotel is right next to a bar/ club and music was blasting until 2-3 am making it difficult to sleep although we understand that the noise is NOT the hotels fault. (Just be aware that if you stay here, if you are a light sleeper you most likely will NOT get any sleep until after the bar/ club shuts down for the evening.)

We never stayed at a Best Western before. Upon arrival we were greeted with a very friendly staff. Our room was on the third floor. Very spacious rooms , nice design and very clean. I loved the wood like flooring. It is a great touch. Breakfast was good. Close location to the campus for the game. I will definitely recommend to others.

Last minute booking at this hotel. We had stayed before when it was a Choice Hotel. Not much has changed. It's a clean, well appointed hotel with good facilities. Decent internet and a very good breakfast.

I started here because it's not far from Titusville, where the rockets launch from. It's a really easy drive from here to Titusville. It was half the price of the Titusville hotels for the day before launch day. There's a Twistee Treats an easy walk just across the street. They've got a restaurant/bar and snacks for sale near the check in desk. They have the NASA channel. :-)

I had confirmed reservations that the front desk called and told me I had to leave- my reservations had cancelled. I checked in a night early and was there to view Artemis and Kennedy Space Center on Monday August 29th! I went right down the road to Courtyard by Marriott- much better. The front desk man was RUDE and somewhat threatening. Never a Best Western Plus Orlando East- maybe never another Choice hotel- I tried to show him my emails from Best Western but to no avail.

The room 308 sink would not drain. I reported this issue every night of a three night, four day stay. Due to the hotel being full, I could not be moved to a different room; more disappointing was the evident inability of the maintenance team to address the issue over that period of time. If you are vegetarian, don't count on a consistently satisfying continental breakfast experience, and don't expect a friendly, helpful response when you ask about replenishment of the cheese omelettes.

Great location to visit the University. The rooms were clean and had every thing we needed. There are restaurants nearby. Breakfast was available at 7:00. We wi be back next year for another Graduation.

Pretty much nothing works. Big cracks in the sink. Sink clogged. Toilet clogged and did not flush. We couldn't go to the bathroom in the room. Shower faucet broken. Musty smell in the room. Highway traffics noise throughout the night. Horrible experience.

This Best Western was exactly what we needed when we took my son to UCF Orientation. It was affordable, the room was nice, and the staff was friendly. Be sure to join their rewards program. I booked two nights and will get one free to use in the fall.

Room was absolutely disgusting, my first room had bed bugs in it and then I get to move to another to room then that room the toilet wouldn't go down for barely even putting anything in the toilet and they couldn't do anything about it so I had to move into another room for my last night! The showers in each of the rooms were very disgusting, I don't even have words to describe how bad the all the showers looked. I should not have to worry about all of this just for a five night stay, this was absolutely ridiculous, the only good part about this stay was the staff were very nice, but other than that, I will probably NEVER stay in a best western hotel because of this!

Hotel had a lot of noises within the hotel itself. It is next to a street and club/restuarant but those noises eventually got quiet. But the hotel itself you can hear a bunch of door slams, and loud noises that I have no idea where they came from. Every hour. We went back to sleep around 7am before we finally got some sort of sleep. However since we woke up at 10:25am we missed breakfast. It was really frustrating and tiring.

I have just arrived and haven't checked in yet as my flight got me here ridiculously early. Upon arrival at the hotel, Colin greeted me graciously and explained that I was early. He was incredibly polite and professional. When I asked if he had somewhere I could securely store my bags while I wait, he was able to easily accommodate. He also directed me to all of the beverage options and amenities and truly went out of his way to make me feel welcome despite my early arrival. He is a true credit to your establishment and a reason I'll be returning on my next trip.

We stayed here last weekend 3/4-3/7 and had an interesting experience. I'll start off with the good, the renovated rooms are nice and clean and the staff we interacted with was friendly. Now on to the fun stuff. This hotel is under renovation and I've stayed at hotels under renovation before and it's never been a problem. This one was a bit problematic, maybe this hotel isn't ready to be putting guests back in rooms yet. We arrived at 4pm (an hour after the 3pm check-in) and we were advised that it would be another hour till they had a room for us. This was problematic cause we had an outing at 5:30pm I still had to do a little prep for. Luckily a friend at the Hilton across the street offered her space to me. We didn't get a call until after 6:30pm, I missed the call and they didn't even bother to leave a voicemail or contact the main booker of the reservation. We weren't able to arrive to our room till after midnight, the doors were locked and there was no one to be found, luckily other guests waiting for help in the lobby helped us in. We get to the room, no fridge, no clock, no phone. Can't find the ice machine. It is what it is, it's 1am we can deal in the morning. Morning comes and I go looking for ice again to discover there are currently no ice machines and you have to go to the front desk for ice. Having to go from the 3rd to the 1st just for ice was annoying, especially cause we didn't have a fridge. When I brought this up, she apologized, was very polite and offered a 25% discount. Problem was we paid in points and she couldn't do anything about points but her general manager could and they wouldn't be in till Monday. Okay fine. Saturday evening we are back in late again, we want to use the sofa bed that night and it won't open. We give up. The next day we decide to try again, turns out they never took the wiring off the bottom of the frame that would release the bed, so we had to flip the couch and remove the wiring ourselves. The mattress also was still in its plastic bag so we had to remove that too. While this is happening, in a room near us, I'm assuming someone was being trained in housekeeping and whoever was training them was yelling at this person the entire time. And then we lost all running water for awhile which set us all back. It was a fun morning. Monday morning, we check out and ask to speak to the GM to be told they are now gone for the day but they will call us. They took the booker's information and off we went. It's been nearly a week and the GM has not reached out. Consider other hotels in the area.

Discovered upon arrival that the hotel was under construction (Friday). Was told if that was a problem for us, that we could cancel our registration and go to another hotel. Said it would be just a "minor inconvenience". Since it's not that easy to get another hotel so quickly, we stayed. The room we were put in the tv did not work. They were unable to fix or move us to another room. Also, while taking a shower, the pull up on the faucet (that makes the shower come on) came out of the spout. Thankfully, it remained in the "up" position, so the shower still worked. Sat at 8:00 am the construction hammering commenced. The workers were in and out of the lobby and eating area, tracking dirt and debris throughout. At the end of the workday, no one ran a vacuum to try to clean it up any. Sat evening, we returned in the evening and spoke to the desk again about the tv. This gal was able to move us to another room that had a working tv, however, the remote did not work. The next day, Sunday, same scenario, waking us up before 8:00 am. When we returned, the side door was propped open and no one was around. It was dark outside. We informed the front desk it was open (she was unaware) and she then went and closed/secured the door. On our way to our room, the hallway directly outside our room was heavy with cigarette smoke. We went to the front desk again; she walked the hall - smelling it too because it was so heavy. There were at least 2 doors that were propped open with the security hinge. Believed they were smoking in the rooms, but she stated she was not allowed to knock on any doors to investigate. The occupants of these rooms were the construction workers. The next morning (Monday) a generator was placed directly outside our room window and started up at 7:30 am. It ran constantly. At approx. 7:50, the hammering directly above our room started. Incredibly loud. Thankfully, this was our last day here. We were told that all of the rooms, except for a few on the first floor, were shut down to occupancy. It seemed that we and one other couple were the only paying guests, the rest of the occupants were the construction workers. The construction process was not thought out very well. I understand the need for the renovation - trust me - from the looks of things, this hotel desperately needed it, but one side of the hotel should have been shut down and the other side left for occupants. Once the one side was done, flip. Keep the construction AWAY from paying guests as much as possible. Also, if you are going to continue to accept reservations during construction, construction should not begin before 9:00 am and should not go past 7:00 pm. Common courtesy to your guests. If this is not possible, don't take reservations for the duration of the remodel. Since reservation were still being accepted, the professional thing to do is inform the guest at the time of reservation that there will be noise and dirt - not when they arrive with no place else to go.

Where should I begin? My family was there for one night for my son's UCF graduation. The check-in (8/6/21) was the nicest process of the entire stay. The woman at the desk was friendly and quick. She had us up in our room in no time. The minute we stepped off the elevator, it had the strongest odor of marijuana. I understand the hotel can't be responsible for the activities of the guests in the rooms, but it was like that the entire time we were there. Once we got into the room, it smelled musty and the couch smelled like urine (not to mention, the couch looked like it was from the 70's and hadn't been deep cleaned in years). Almost none of the plugs worked to charge your phone. Either the chargers fell out of the plug (which happened to my phone overnight, so I ended up at his graduation with my phone at 32%), or they didn't work. We went to sit out at the pool and have a drink while we waited for my son to arrive and meet us. The pool was filthy (I would say un-swimmable) and there were literally three chairs (and four of us). The one table outside was disgustingly dirty and had some sort of mystery liquid on it that didn't evaporate in the heat. We spent 10 minutes speculating what it could be and even took a picture of it. The biggest problem we had was with the bathroom. The toilet was clogged when we checked into the room. We tried to call the front desk, but the telephone in the room didn't work. I called down to the desk on my cellphone and the nice woman who checked us in came up to plunge it. We assumed that fixed the problem at the time. Imagine our surprise when we all woke up the next morning to be up and out and our toilet didn't work. Needless to say, we were 30 minutes late leaving. We went down to check out on Saturday morning, and there were not “bagged breakfasts” on the counter as the woman who checked us in stated there would be. I also told the lady at the desk that morning about the bathroom situation, and her response was “oh, ok. Sorry about that.”, then handed my my receipt. Had we not been running late already because the toilet didn't work, I would have stayed and asked to speak with someone else. For what they were charging for a nightly rate, they should be ashamed. Do better.

Our son transferred to UCF last year so we come up from South FL to visit when he performs (BFA program). We've stayed her three times so far. It is conveniently located, safe and clean. The rooms are all well maintained. The staff have always been professional, polite and helpful. We will stay here each time we visit.

My wife and I stayed at this property for two nights. Since my wife doesn't walk and uses a powered wheelchair to get around, we always book a room with a roll-in shower. When we got to our room, we discovered that while there was a roll-in shower, there was no shower bench anywhere in sight. I went to the lobby and asked about getting a shower bench for the room, the front desk person seemed to have no idea what I was talking about. I explained that without a bench, my wife wouldn't be able to take a shower for the duration of our stay. After all, it's not like she could drive her wheelchair into the enclosure to take a shower- that would be very bad for some very expensive electronics!! The attendant told me she had never seen any shower benches in the property, so I suggested she call her manager at home and ask where they might be stored away. I then went back to our room to help my wife, and after a few minutes the front desk clerk called and told me that the property didn't have any benches, and my wife would have to wait till we got to our next destination before she could wash up. During the duration of our stay, there was no effort on the hotel's part to rectify the situation- all it would have taken was a quick trip to Walmart or a drug store to buy one. As it turns out, even if they had gone out and bought a bench, it wouldn't have helped anyways- while taking my own shower the next day, I discovered that the diverter that directs the water flow between the wall nozzle and the shower hose was defective, and there was no way to send water through the hose. This is an established hotel in a major resort town, and undoubtably many other wheelchair users have stayed at that property. They all would have encountered the same issues, and said something about this. Therefore, I have a hard time believing that this is just a simple oversight on the hotel's part. The most charitable explanation is that management is too cheap to spring for a $15 item, and just doesn't care about the hardship that creates for their guests.

Check in was very easy had everything ready made copies so we didn't have to hand write rooming lists. They were also extremely accommodating to our needs allowing us to us food area to have our team dinner. Breakfast was great and the two ladies Gretchen and Cory were very helpful making sure all 23 team member were fed and all coaches. Thanks and hope to see you next year

Cory was super sweet and nice to talk to. She was super helpful and even helped me out with breakfast. The place super nice and well kept. The beds were clean and the management was super understanding always and helpful.
