We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, well behaved staffs. Service quality was so good. Thanks to tanushree, sayantani, shreya for valuable guidance and inputs. Food was nicely cooked and authentic. Amenities like swimming pool and spa available.
Everything was nice except the breakfast. As long as you are not hungry for something thats not dry, you will be happy here. The staff was nice. Be ready to check in using a computer screen with a human on the other side, checking you in. No idea why she wasn't just behind the desk. Wild times to be alive
The hotel has some good features: it is newer, the AC was quiet, the room size is good, it is close to open space and an ocean walk. It is south of town so it is a drive to town or the congested harbor. I found that appealing. The breakfast was okay. It is geared to take away and minimal staff attention. There was fruit; dry cereal; instant oatmeal; yogurt; toast/bagels; breakfast sandwiches, coffee/tea; and packaged orange juice, granola bars and muffins. Hot water is available all day. There are two car chargers (~5 kw)
Our favorite place to stay in the Half Moon Bay Area while visiting family nearby. The beds are SUPER comfortable, the place is super clean, and we love the attached English pub, Cameron's. Can't beat the location so close to beaches and other cool things to do and see! Dog-friendly, continental / grab-and-go breakfast included.
This is a clean property, however, there are limited breakfast options, no marketplace, no pool, no room service, no towels. If your not picky, this will be your place. However, I needed a marketplace, a pool to hangout at, a huge lobby space area, cell reception, room service, breakfast options. My home exceeds all of this. At least this place was clean, that's the only thing I like about it.
If you love dogs this hotel is for you. I love dogs, but I felt like I was staying at a kennel with dogs everywhere. Front desk clerk said they do not separate guest rooms based on pet free requests. At least one floor or wing should be pet free. Otherwise, it was in a good location, about 2 miles from town. Clean & comfortable room. Nice breakfast bar in the morning. Staff member (Anthony?) was very helpful upon check out explaining why they could not provide a check out receipt (I used some rewards points but did not know that the reservation was through Expedia...even though I called to verify. It was my misunderstanding of how rewards work, and all turned out OK).
It was OK but since dogs are allowed in any room on any floor, it was disruptive. (We love dogs but I felt like I booked a room at a kennel) The check in process was unusual as there was a "virtual clerk" at the front desk (via remote video from Columbia per staff). It was hard to understand the clerk who had a heavy accent so I must have missed the que to request room service on our second day. (no towel service was provided). Rooms were clean, and staff was very polite. Location is good (2 miles from downtown). It was great to get a cool break here , away from the summer heat wave.
A very clean pet friendly hotel. The restaurant on site is wonderful. The only downfall is the parking. Your car is for certain to get a door ding
I JUST HATED THIS PLACE. Pls don't waste your money on this Motel 6. . They have insulted the meaning of Aristocrat. There is nothing Aristocratic about this property . The King Rooms touted are tubes of 50 square feet. The fireplace included is a mini flame controlled by the cheap owners for low gas consumption. The bath room is another affirmation of the cheapness of the owners mind with Third rate mentality. The towels are cheap cloth not good for even one time use. The light in the bath room go off while taking a shower because of saving electricity. The shower water is a drizzle because of water cost saving by the low class owner who must be an old guy saving his pennies and misleading his guests. THIS DUMP SHOULD BE CALLED " THE SERVANTS PLACE". You get the picture... I am reporting this place to HEALTH CARE AUTHORITIES as they are refilling water in the room with TAP WATER. This place must be SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY.
Excellent hotel with great amenities. Comfort room and clean. Exceed my expectation. Good breakfast and excellent service.
I specifically asked for room to be cleaned after first night as we were going to the beach. This hotel is close to beach. Cleaning was not done and we were blamed that we didn't ask. In addition, when i mentioned during checkout, the lady didn't even pay attention.
The check in kiosk with live person was our first time using; this was a very efficient way of checking in. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel appears to be new and the area is quiet. The breakfast was hot breakfast sandwiches, fruit, coffee, cereal, muffins and juice which were all delicious. We will stay again.
Large room. Clean. Hot water. Adequate amenities. Reasonably fulfilling breakfast—but 7:00 is a bit late to start to eat. They have a virtual front desk that was actually quite helpful. I liked it. Microwave and refrigerator weee functional. The Keurig worked but the pods looked ancient. Friendly staff. We stayed here because we travel with our dog but we would stay here again, even without him. There is a British themed restaurant and pub next door but we didn't go in. Recommended.
The room was comfortable and clean, with a Keurig machine. The housekeepers and the man who took care of breakfast/gardening were all courteous and friendly. However, we were disappointed, as we had expected a better level of service and food at a Best Western. Sometimes you can speak to a real human at the front desk, but usually there is a remote person on a screen, which is not a satisfactory experience. The wake-up call on the first morning was 15 minutes late, on the second morning 45 minutes late, thus almost making us miss breakfast. The breakfast buffet includes fresh oranges and bananas, but otherwise there aren't any healthy choices. For example, the yogurts and instant oatmeal packets all contain sugar. There are no grab bars or rubber mat (to prevent slipping) in or near the shower (no tub), and the liquid soaps and conditioners have a chemical smell instead of the pleasant lemon scent in other Best Westerns. There is no clock. The property is next to a pub, but otherwise there are no eateries within walking distance.
We had to move out of our house for five days to have floors refinished. We went to Half Moon Bay, close and a nice place to be winter and summer. We had a very nice stay at the Best Western Aristocrat.
This is a very nice room and hotel. Very relaxing after a busy day. Don't try to heat your coffee! No Microwave. Big city hotels, I understand, but country beach vacation hotels. Come on. Don't try to force us to your restaurant.
If you are even 5 minutes early you have to try to get checked with a person who is off site. This did not go well fer me or the person before me. thankfully the live person came to the front desk while we were trying to figure out what the problem was...service with the staff on site was excellent. that is who I will refer to on your follow up questions
I usually love a BW Signature hotel and this was no different. All staff I interacted with were so friendly and helpful, the bed and pillows were fantastic - super comfy, and breakfast in the morning was satisfying, I like that they had a hot food option and brown bags to take on the road - which was super helpful as both mornings we were out the door just about 7am. The only con is that it's right off the pch, so expect road noise, especially if you are in a room that faces the highway, like we were. However the windows are of good quality and help keep the noise down.
Very relaxing, clean hotel. Good amenities (breakfast, gym, ez parking, location). Loved the decor with English and ocean vibe. Staff was courteous. Room layout was comfortable and roomy. Refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer and more homey touches made the stay more enjoyable.
It's a relatively very nice hotel located in peaceful surroundings. Clean, cool, pleasant to stay in. Friendly staff and an interesting remote check-in attendant station. Comfortable bed. Close to multiple good restaurants.
We had a great time here. Our room and the entire building were very clean and it was easy to tell that the interior had been recently updated and refreshed. The sofabed in our king suite was surprisingly huge and comfortable, and the fireplace kept us warm and cozy at night even though we left the windows open slightly to let the cool ocean air in. Staff was incredibly friendly and professional as well, I cannot say enough good things about them. The only letdown here is the breakfast that is offered, which feels more like a standard Best Western experience (if you know you know) and not really up to the more elevated experience that this hotel offers overall. However, this isn't a huge issue for us; HMB is a place where we can get great coffee at Peet's and lovely breakfast offerings at New Leaf that we were able to heat up in the microwave in our room. The breakfast is easy to forget when the rest of the hotel experience is fantastic and a great value for the price.
This hotel is terrible. Zero amenities. View was an RV park right outside the window (like 6 feet away), had to keep blinds drawn. Breakfast was inedible with stale breakfast sandwiches and the worst coffee ever. You get to check in at a kiosk with a zoom bot. There is no customer service or amenities. No pool, not even a hot tub. Half Moon Bay is lovely but there are better places and this is a dump. Clean room, ok bed, awful lumpy pillows and door slamming at all hours. You'll pay over $370 (with taxes) for one night at this dump, so avoid and stay elsewhere. It's a complete rip off. Not a hotel- a glorified Motel 6.
This adorable Hotel was really a surprise! I didn't expect it to be as wonderful as it was. After driving hundreds of miles, we booked a room here, and I cannot even tell how you, how fabulous the bedding was; especially after driving so far. I just sank right in and had the best sleep ever! The decor is a Beachy vibe and it's just the cutest! The breakfast room was very nice too, Clem and organized. I would highly recommend this cute hotel in Half Moon Bay!
This hotel was well located for our visit to Half Moon Bay. It wasn't in downtown but everything is a short drive in this small town. The breakfast was good and the kids enjoyed it. The bedrooms were well sized and there is a refrigerator which is a must with kids. My only complaint was the that the check-in process was done by a zoom screen at a kiosk, even though there were clearly hotel staff present. It really took away that personal touch in an otherwise nice hotel.
This is a lovely hotel. We really enjoyed our stay. It has the feel of a small, boutique hotel (it has about 40 rooms). Our room was quiet, immaculately clean, and decorated with style (we loved the British theme). Great location, close to Poplar Beach and downtown Half Moon Bay. Decent breakfast. Great value.
Everything is fine and specially thanks to suparna... She really good and always for us. Whenever I asked her she always right here. I can suggest her 100 on 200. She care for us and always be there and her smily face killed. I love her
The hotel was surprisingly charming! It was quaint, extremely clean, the guest room was spacious, had a good night sleep in their comfortable bed and the free continental breakfast was more than what I expected! Highly recommend!
Place is clean, but there is no live attendant, just an automated kiosk. This did not make me feel very safe. Anyone can walk through the door, and there weren't any people around when we checked in. This is a pet friendly hotel, and the dogs were fairly well behaved. The rooms were cleaned well enough that we wouldn't have known it was a dog-friendly place otherwise. It's a great location for Half Moon Bay.
This is a comfortable, clean, hotel well situated near downtown Half Moon Bay and not far from the ocean. We have stayed at this hotel 4 times over the past couple of years. Our family stayed in a king suite and enjoyed our provided breakfast.
It is located off Cabrillo Hwy right next to Cameron's Restaurant and Inn off on a small street called Wavecrest Road. The area is quiet and off the beaten path. Rooms are clean and quiet. There's a fitness center, business center, complimentary breakfast, pet friendly and the staff is friendly. Check in was a breeze and they also have a kiosk at the front desk. If you are looking for a quiet and clean place to stay, that has a Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator and soap/shampoo/body wash dispenser in the shower, soap and lotion dispenser in the bathroom, this is your place. Complimentary breakfast is served for about two hours each morning which consists of a hot entree (today was sausage and egg muffin), bagels to toast, fruit like banana and oranges, cereal, instant oatmeal, yogurt, packaged muffins and granola bars, coffee and tea. Only juice available was in boxed juices for kids, no orange juice. You can also take your breakfast to go in a paper bag/plates. Coffee at the breakfast was ok so I made myself a Keurig cup of Starbucks in the room.
My wife and I stayed here on a quick weekend getaway. Everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel was very clean. The staff was very nice. And the location was perfect. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. We will definitely stay here again.
Very clean, comfortable hotel in a great location. Slight British atmosphere with a cute little pub next door. We were meeting with family after Thanksgiving and were happy to find this hotel. Would definitely stay there again!
A very nice clean place, but for a Best Western "Signature" collection if falls somewhere between a standard BW and a BW Plus (the rooms rank in the Plus category and the breakfast in the standard category). Breakfast was hot sandwiches (no eggs, bacon, etc.) and continental style. We had an extremely polite host during check-in but had to use the electronic kiosk for check out. It worked perfectly, but it still seemed impersonal. Pros: - OK location - Nice rooms - Pet friendly - Excellent staff, if you find a human Cons: - The electronic check-in/check-out kiosk seems very impersonal - Room refrigerator was a reconverted wine refrigerator, and kept everything just above lukewarm - Dog relief area was furthest from the pet friendly rooms - Disappointing breakfast for a "signature" collection and for the price
enjoyed quiet time and the location, near the water and town center, giving us a half moon bay adventure after many years of just driving through, a great get away for my wife and i. Hope to return in the spring and enjoy another season there.
Friendly staff. Quite rooms. English pub in the same parking lot. Dog friendly. Turn left out of the lot drive past RV campground, and you will find a free parking lot next to a dog park and beach access trails.
This hotel is great if you don't plan to spend any time actually inside your hotel room. Rooms are basic - and ours was clean and did not smell like an animal had stayed there. Beware - lots a of dog owners use this hotel!!!
A beautiful little hotel! The hotel is modern and clean, the rooms fabulous and the welcome is a warm one. We stayed here so we could visit Santa Cruz and Miramar before heading to the airport in San Francisco. Ample parking and the breakfast provided was really lovely; there is something for everyone.
Vrutik was instrumental in making our stay comfortable. His customer service is exceptional. The area found the hotel was so cute and the food next door was very tasty. The hotel and rooms were very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again 200%
Someone burned breakfast and caused a fire alarm that woke up every single guest and had to evacuate at 6 am in the morning. Didn't get enough sleep and was very tired the next day to enjoy the beach and other placed we planned to visit. Didn't even get an applogy from the staff. Not happy with the stay. Also the pillow smelled funky and towels were not all new/replaced...especially with Covid still around...disgusting. Paid quite a lot for the value we recieved. Breakfast is very mediocre. If you are going to charge $300+ per night, atleast provide a hot breakfast.
We loved the Aristocrat in Half Moon Bay. The 2-Queen room was spacious, clean, and everything was in working order. It also had a table and chairs, an easy chair, and a mini-fridge. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The included breakfast was great with a variety of offerings. Parking was plentiful. Cameron's Pub right next door is great for lunch, dinner, and/or drinks. It was an easy walk to the Pacific.
Some how I had booked a room here but for September not June, DER...Anyway the lovely lady working the check in sorted my wife and I out with a 2 bed room. The beds were comfy and the shower good. Right next door is Cameron's pub who do good meals but can get very busy. Its a good choice.
Clean hotel and good location for our event, but very average. Beds too soft for my preference. Paid $420 for one night. Breakfast very basic, coffee average. Wanted quiet room with view and ended up with noisy room next to reception with view of the parking lot.
Our stay at the Aristocrat Hotel was very pleasurable. The front desk was very helpful. Breakfast was more of a Continental + not really a full breakfast. However the attendant in the breakfast area was extremally helpful and had outstanding Customer Service skills.
The hotel was clean and fresh. The bathroom drain was not clogged like some others (sometimes). The washer and dryer we used were clean, and not rusted. The gentleman greeting us was very friendly and helpful. Please keep up the great work.
So very pleased with this hotel. One of the best of BW. Conveniently located, very clean and staff is super friendly. Enjoyed the walk to end of street through the meadows and views of beach from high above . Pub next door is fantastic! Good food & drink.
We went for midweek break with our dog. This is a relatively new hotel and the room was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Due to COVID regulations, breakfast was provided for take out, lunch bag style. There was a good variety of fruits, yogurt, cereals, and coffee/tea on offer. There were also individually wrapped hot sausage/egg sandwiches available. The hotel was quiet, despite being next to a popular British Pub. We were on the ground floor near the pub, but there was no loud noise either evening. Unfortunately, the "grassy" dog area had been replaced with mulch and was not comfortable as a potty area; the neighbor's dogs barked loudly whenever someone approached the corner. There is a small wood across the way which serves the purpose better. Please pick up after your dog. The road in front of the hotel leads to the coastal walk and a nature reserve. Within 20 minutes, one can walk to popular beach where dogs are allowed. Half Moon Bay downtown is only a few minutes drive away and definitely worth a visit.
Heavenly prices and very little services from the staff led to a poor experience. Broken thermostat, scarce breakfast buffet menu and absolutly no room cleaning led to a poor experience. I am not planning to go back to this place.
Very nice, updated hotel I've ever stayed in. Hotel staff is the best I've ever seen. Very friendly and kind. We will not stay anywhere else. Love this place and location is walking distance to our favorite beach. Recommend staying here. You won't regret it.
I have stayed at the Aristocrat a few times now. It has been quiet, clean, and comfortable each time! It is a good value for the price. We brought our baby (11mos) with us and there was plenty of room for a pack-n-play and they brought out a highchair at breakfast. Although the breakfast lacked filling and protein-packed options before our hike, it seemed more a result of COVID procedures than the hotel's choice. We were quite happy with our stay.
We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed this hotel. Only stayed for a night but we were refreshed to find that the room we were put into, looked just like the photo online (which a lot of the time, is bot the case!) looked newly renovated and tastefully done. The bed was *very* comfortable! Room temperature was adjustable between heat, fan, and AC. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room and various hotel spaces were very clean, area was safe. Excellent stay overall!
Very nice, best location in half moon bay, just outside of downtown, off the highway enough so road noise was very light. Walk to the ocean, and right on one of the best coastal walking/ bicycle trails in all of California, we road our bicycles up the coast 6 miles for brunch one day.
We stayed here for the weekend and it was fun staying at this cute hotel. Clean and decent. The only thing I had issue is that the TV/Cable shuts down and I had to call front desk to fix it. Also, noticed that lots of black ants showed up in the bathroom! The morning we woke up the counter of our bathroom is full of ants and they had to replace the towels!
Wonderful stay, quiet, clean and great staff! Close to the beach and restaurants. Loved the Pub next door too! The room was clean and quiet. Staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel was very clean and decor was very up to date and very pleasant.
Family reunion for Thanksgiving with family in Half Moon Bay and Campbell and San Jose. The hotel was in a perfect location close to family in Half Moon Bay and fun in San Fransisco and the Redwood Forrest, the Winchester House and places to hike and walking trails for me to ride on with my power scooter. Many wonderful restaurants. We made many wonderful family memories.
Nice spot for exploring the area. Pet friendly though cost is excessive $40 per night. Yikes! Other Best Westerns are free and for $40 per night when the room was not cleaned after the first night this is clearly a rip off.
The hotel is perfectly situated, within walking distance to the beautiful beach, and so close to Main Street shopping and restaurants. It was quiet, and the room was squeaky clean. And oh, the bed was soooooo comfy! Everyone at the desk was wonderful, warm and helpful. We will definitely be back!
I love Best Western's and have stayed for 10+ years at them. This was my first time here and I will never return. Electricity went out the first day and didn't get it back until middle of night. Nothing done. The breakfast isn't a breakfast. Don't plan on getting anything worthwhile. Oatmeal and cold cereal. The suite "w/a fireplace" is a flip a switch and a light comes on. Asked for housekeeping while i was gone one day and towels, sheets and blankets left but bed not made, nothing picked up. The trash wasn't even taken out that was sitting in a pile along with the used the towels that were left. Forget if you are hoping that they have a listing of menus or even restaurants in the area. They don't. Their "refrigerators" is the size of a drawer not even a college sized refrig and doesn't keep anything cold. Useless. We had two young folks at the desk who were friendly but the adults were not friendly or helpful at all. Good luck getting anything from them!
The room and bed were extremely comfortable. Front desk was exceptionally kind and the area in Half Moon Bay is quiet with a walking ocean bluff down the street. Dog friendly (although more money than I would normally pay with my dog), but plenty of places to walk. Clean and COVID protocols were followed.
This is a Best Western hotel. The king room and property were clean and comfortable. Dogs are permitted to stay in certain rooms, so if you are allergic to dogs, this might not be the place for you. The hotel is next to an RV park and a pub, but our room was quiet. There was a shower only, no bathtub. There was a mini-fridge, but no microwave in the room. However, there's a microwave for common use in the lobby. There was a Keurig machine in the room and pods of coffee and green tea - but no black tea!!! Unfortunately, our special request to have housekeeping leave the window open before check-in was not done, despite the fact that I not only wrote that request on the online reservation but also called at 11:00 AM the day of arrival to make sure that it was done. The staff people were polite and accommodating in a number of ways. The desk clerk did not give us the usual goodie bag (containing two 16-ounce bottles of water and a bag of chips) that BW Rewards members receive, explaining it was because of Covid precautions. Well, we had stayed at a Best Western in Santa Cruz just a few nights earlier, where they did give us the usual bag. Also, all the items in the goodie bag are packaged, so Covid precautions as a rationale doesn't make sense. When we asked for water, we were given two tiny bottles, which seems stingy. When I asked for toothpaste, I was given one little envelope, again stingy. That is not the clerk's fault because it is probably the hotel policy. The grab-and-go breakfast was not as good as we'd expected in a hotel called "Aristocrat BW Signature Collection." It was inferior to the breakfast in the modest BW in Santa Cruz. It was available only from 7 to 9 AM. I suggest that it be available until at least 10 AM, as in most hotels. Even worse, it included only cold items: several types of sugary cold cereal, but no bananas to go with it; milk; juice; apples (no other options in the way of fresh fruit); yogurt; etc. They should offer at least one hot *and* healthy item such as packets of plain instant oatmeal. There was in general a lack of healthy options. For example, there was sugary yogurt, but no plain yogurt option. We would probably stay here again, but I guess we'd need to bring our own supply of healthy breakfast items.
Very nice hotel, clean, plush beds, seems new. Easy access from road, yet far enough away to be very quiet. Did not have a pool or hot tub, no real breakfast, that was the biggest downside, plus pricey for an area where you're hoping for a beach view.
The room 208 (King Suite) was very pretty. Nice view of the valley, cute gas fireplace, plenty of space for a family of 3 plus a dog. However, I woke up at 4 am because I was being eaten by BED BUGS!! I'm very sensitive and allergic to bed bugs. My back started swelling up immediately. I went down to reception and asked to be moved. We were offered Room 125, which is a Double Standard room. Unfortunately, they didn't have any other King Suites available at 4 am. I asked if the hotel wanted cover laundry services for us, but the receptionist said we needed to take it up with the Manger after 8 am. So we and the bed bugs moved to a different room in the middle of the night. If Room 125 did not have bed bugs before, it certainly has them now. I got a new bite the next night. I'm mentioning room numbers in case someone else gets bed bugs in these rooms in the future. Manager Erika has been notified about the bed bug situation. If the hotel doesn't take care of it, the next traveler has the right to sue the hotel. Please feel free to contact me if you need an eye witness or co-signer for your court case against Aristocrat Hotel. Maria dot Trefilova at gmail. Other notes: the hotel has very nice location. It's walking distance from the coastal trail. Beach is a bit far, but still walkable. Camden Pub next door is very cool.
What a great location - within the thick of things but just outside of the congestion. The staff was great to work with, group sales manager Erica was responsive, professional and went out of her way to help us.
We choose this hotel because it was pet friendly ( although we ended up not bringing them) the hotel was clean, the decor was extremely nice, even though breakfast was given in a bag due to COVID it was a really good selection and a nice variety The location was good for us as we have to go to UCSF for Dr visits and it beats staying in the SanFrancisco and the drive to and from Half Moon Bay is nicer and faster
Dog fee on line is different than when you get there-$30 on internet and $40 there. You would think the hotel would honor the on line price, but he argued with me to the point he just said NO! Rude! Elevator is super slow and noisy Refrigerators don't work and would not keep any food cold Internet is super slow and every time you need to log in Noisy-we were above front desk and they were very loud Front desk folks not so helpful No dirty clothes bag in closet
This hotel is conveniently located on the outskirts of Half Moon Bay. Adjacent to open space, it is a short walk to trails and beach access. The pet friendly accommodations are clean and large enough to spread out. We did experience some noise from the parking lot during the day due to our room facing the lot close to the restaurant, but it was quiet at night (other than traffic noise).
Comfortable rooms and friendly staff, but needs some improvements. 1. Automatic light in the bathroom came on in the middle of the night at entering the bathroom, irrespective of whether it was set at night light or not. 2. For a hotel claiming to be a English hotel, lack of having any simple black tea was not good. One had choices only between Coffee, green tea, herbal teas, or black tea mixed with other ingredients. 3. Only a choice of non-dairy creamer: No milk or real half-and-half for beverages. 4. Unlike other hotels on this trip, no choice was given of what went in the pre-packaged bags for breakfast, resulting in having to throw away items which one did not want. 5. No self-service coffee or hot water at breakfast room or lobby. Had to ask the person at the front desk for those items.
I would recommend this hotel. It is clean and new! Hotel is also dog friendly, for only fee $30. Next time I visit Half Moon bay I will stay at this hotel again instead of the high price hotel for half the price!
We stayed here 2 nights with another couple to play the Half Moon Bay golf course. The rooms were immaculate, nice large bathtub/shower, tasty boxed breakfast and extremely friendly staff at all times of the day. One AM awoke to a “hot” refrigerator and it was replaced before we returned from breakfast! We would definitely return there!
We stayed here two nights and found the hotel to exceed our expectations on most items. The hotel fairly new, 2017, so everything had an up to date feel. Wifi was fast, the bed was comfortable, and the room was a good size with places to sit and a small table. The breakfast was modified for Covid to a grab and go experience and it was okay. Since it it close to highway 1 you do get some highway noise. There is a pub next door so you don't have to drive to drink and eat if you don't want to.
Always really enjoy our stay at this hotel - however, if you are bringing pets realize that it is $40.00 PER pet (as in EACH). So of the bat you are forking out $80.00 a night if, like us, you bring two dogs! LOL, almost as much as it cost for the wife and I, next time the dogs stay home with the children!
Gorgeous decor, super clean!! Everything was perfect, besides the fact our room was booked purposely for the extra use of the sofa bed. We didn't think to check it before we headed out for the night. By the time we came back it was too late to call the front desk. We opened up the sofa bed and it was a 1/4 like mattress that didn't even fit the length of the frame. Completely bowed in the middle. My preteens couldn't even fit on it, their legs hung off the end. They both slept horribly and backs sore in the morning. The king size bed was so comfortable and everything else was so great, that it was such a shame they had such a crappy sofa bed. Definitely ruined the next day.
Upon our arrival Erica was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. The check in process was seamless. Later in the evening, we needed a tad of service and Debbie was also professional, knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. The room was clean, accessible, on the 2nd floor as requested, with temperature comfort, nautical decor, (a favorite for us), wifi was good and Best Western was 'on point'. The staff members are an asset to Best Western, as well. This location is a High Recommend, incl.. for those on a budget, as well.
We stayed at the Best Western in Half Moon Bay. It was a small hotel, but very clean and a reasonable price. We could walk next door to have food and craft beer for dinner. Our stay was enjoyable and we would love to visit Half Moon Bay again and would stay at this hotel.
We are currently staying in the hotel. My family had stayed at the hotel before so we called to make reservation. We were assured at that time the there was a fireplace in the room and a nice view of the mountains. When we arrived no fireplace or view. When we arrived we were put in a handicap room facing a trailer park. We brought Lysol wipes just to wipe down the room although the website and front desk stated the room was cleaned prior to check in. We found that the room was dirty with crumbs and dirt on the side tables and surfaces. Especially based on COVID19 I would think the room would cleaned for the safety. I called the front desk and they did not respond or answer just put me directly on hold for 5 min. I asked to speak with a manager and the front desk told me that she was not in. Then I proceeded to ask if she could call me and she informed me later that the manager said it was she her day off and she would have the COO Jimmy call me. I never received a call and then we were asked to change rooms. My sister needed to store breast milk and the stated she could leave it in a community fridge. It was a debacle. I am still waiting on a response from someone. We are very dissatisfied.
Hotel was hard to find as the GPS still listed as "Best Western". A few things spoiled the stay here: there is no microwave in the room; our refrigerator did not work and had to be replaced; no hand towels in the room, nor drinking glasses. Also lack of separate light in the entryway. The one light switch also controlled whole room.
Stayed here for a weekend getaway, to get away from our own 4 walls for a bit. Our room was a King suite with fireplace, facing the rear of the property, overlooking RV park. Room was exactly as described and shown in pictures. Fairly quiet and lots of cute dogs traveling with their owners :) A good value for money - Extremely clean room and hotel overall, with friendly staff. Spacious room, great location next to Cameron's Inn restaurant/pub. The bed and pillows were super, super comfortable. Lots of COVID precautions in place to keep things safe - enhanced cleaning, no housekeeping service during your stay, everyone is wearing masks, etc. Breakfast is currently a grab and go format, and included water, juice, granola bar, yoghurt, wrapped pastry and an apple. Fitness center is currently closed, laundry room is open. Keep in mind, this hotel has recently changed it's name to the Aristocrat hotel, but it's still a Best Western property.
I was here for 2 nights with my husband and adult son. We booked a king suite with a sofabed, and specified that we had three adults. Our king bed was fine, but the sofa bed was too short for my son! (he is 5' 7"). The sofabed was of a design that opens up by pushing the back down, so a person lies lengthwise. This is great for space-saving, but it is much shorter than a traditional sofa bed. My son slept with his legs bent and was ok, but if you have someone tall they would not fit. This was labor day weekend and the hotel was full, so I did not bother to ask to change rooms. Also, this is a pet-friendly property, so be aware that there will be quite a few dogs around. Not a problem for us. We enjoyed being able to open the windows for a cool breeze, and the king bed was very comfortable. Customer service was friendly and helpful. During Covid, you get a breakfast bag with fruit and yogurt, and fresh coffee, instead of the regular breakfast. We felt very comfortable with the cleanliness and attention to detail. Would stay again, but would have to get two rooms due to the sofabed issue.
Lupe at the front desk went above and beyond for us. We really appreciate her kindness. Thank you, Best Western, for hiring such great people! Hotel is in a great location. Thank you again for everything!
Stayed here for one night on a solo road trip. The hotel was really clean and everyone was wearing masks. My room was in the back and very quiet. Huge TV (no microwave in my room, though). Ice was on the first floor only, but maybe this is because of COVID. The grab and go breakfast was set up and truly grab and go. I grabbed dinner from the pub next door (lobster mac and cheese! yum!). The room was big and tastefully decorated in a nautical theme. The bed was comfy and I had a great nights sleep. Would absolutely stay here again if I'm in the area.
Beautifully kept hotel, spotless, all Covid regulations were upheld. Super nice staff and a pub next door. Wrapped breakfast to go, and free parking and WiFi. Very close to the beach (not walking distance though).
Although we are in the middle of a pandemic, everything was comfortable and almost normal. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. I was very happy with the stay. I normally stay with family, but this was a special treat for my daughters birthday. Dinner and desert were amazing, sad I couldn't take her in the restaurant, but the dog friendly dining was perfection.
Our family decided to go on a beach staycation because the stress of covid left us needing to de stress. Let me start by saying how impressed I was by the location. It was super quiet, we never heard a door slam once. We stayed in the king suite closest to the second floor elevator. The room was beautifully decorated and the fireplace was a lovely touch. The bathroom was well lit and the shower was a generous size. The entire room was super clean. My five year old stayed on the sofa bed in front of the cozy fireplace. I loved that she was right next to us. We had a small lighting issue and the staff came up to assist us shortly to help resolve it. The first thing I noticed when we walked in is how clean everything was. The lobby smelled like it had just been disinfected and cleaned which I appreciated very much with all the craziness of covid. Masks were encouraged. As a mom, I am really grateful that this hotel was so impeccably clean. Even the pens were disinfected. The front desk picks up calls from the rooms immediately and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay again! I was so impressed with BW's cleaning standards that I booked another stay with them in Capitola next week. Thank you BW Half Moon Bay for making my family's trip so comfortable. Pic of my 5 year old enjoying cartoons in the lovely plush king bed :)
Everything was great about this hotel. It looks as though it was recently renovated, because everything in it was top of the line. My only complaint is that I booked 2 rooms, I called ahead of time to make sure they would be next to each other. And once we got there they were not next to each other. We got over it, but it would have been nice
+++ clean room, , modern large screen tv w/ many channels, keurig coffee maker, spacious room w/ king size bed, friendly service, early check in, nice bathroom amenities, quiet, and seamless check out. Its not so close to the beach, so if you're looking for beachfront look elsewhere. Overall very satisfied, great value.
Great place, clean, welcoming, and great for money. Close to everything and easy to get to. We were able to get in and out with easy, slept well and in comfort... cleanest bathrooms we've ever seen in hotels! My kids were the first ones to point that out... which says a lot when kids notice how clean a bathroom is!
The bed was nice but that was it. Coffemaker, wifi, lamp broken. Some idiot who will go to idiot hell set the fire alarm off at 3AM. If you've never had the pleasure of that believe me you won't forget the strobe light and alarm in your very own room. Who cares about wifi working? You have your very own disco and really loud siren!
Before we booked a room here it stated somewhere that we would be 2 minutes walking distance from Wavecreast Open Space beach. That was definitely a lie. It would be a 2 minutes drive but not walking distance, other than that the staff was polite. The room was clean and cute. Cute little place to stay.
We enjoyed our 2 night stay here. It's a new hotel so everything was super nice. Very clean as well. There is a restaurant and bar next door which we enjoyed walking through as there's lots to see. We will definitely stay here again.
We are Best Western platinum members. We are mobile seniors. We always stay at BW. This was by far the best BW we have stayed in. We were able to check in early. They upgraded us to a suite with a fireplace for free. We earned points and got a welcome gift. The breakfast was well prepared, hot and ample. Who could ask for anything more. We will be back. Thanks Cameron's Inn.
the property is located a little south of town. The hotel looks like it's been updated not too long ago, rooms are very clean. The breakfast was good as well, there is a pub located on the property ( we did not eat there, only had a drink ). the best part is you can walk down the road and walk along the bluffs overlooking the ocean
I generally am most concerned with room cleanliness...and the room I stayed in met all expectations on that front. In addition, staff were friendly, etc. This is a newer hotel which helps...and I would definitely recommend staying here...it isn't anything high end, but it is a nice place and for my business trip was the right call to stay here.
We've stayed at many hotels before, by far this has been the greatest experience. Not one member of the staff passed by us without greeting us. The location is great - close to the beach, lighthouse, trail walks and San Francisco. We're definitely coming back!
Get better food and room maintenance staff. Do not advertise one medium-size room as a suite. Make sure room has TP, coffee cups, shampoo (had 4 conditioners but no shampoo coffee but no cups). remove mold from corners of shower, Assure check-in person programs the right number of nights on the card (would not let us in for 2nd of 3 nights). give the poor girl trying to keep breakfast stocked some help. Do something to improve the "sofa" which is extremely uncomfortable to sit on. Put microwave in room (even holiday in express has one). Take awful over-bright bulbs out of bathroom mirror. A wine cooler is not a refrigerator and is located inside a cabinet. You need to leave the cabinet door open (in the path of walking in the room) to keep the fridge from overheating. Basically, lose some of the fancy stuff (robes, free water) and pay attention to the basics. We will not be back.
Wonderful place! Easy to access this entire area of the bay! Staff was friendly and engaging, and the hotel is clean, comfortable and welcoming! Breakfast is nice and the pub next door is gret fun and just a few feet away!
Since this location was built in 2017, it's practically brand new. Nicest BWP I've ever stayed in with plenty of charm to make it stand out from any other BWP in the chain. The fresh squeezed orange juice machine was a nice addition to the free breakfast. Friendly service from the front desk. The pub next door is a fun place to hang out and is welcoming to families and large parties just as a pub in the UK would be. I highly recommend this place if you are checking out the California coast.
We were attending a wedding nearby and just by luck chose this place! Staff was great, room was spacious and the bed was superb. Breakfast was free and even included fresh squeeze orange juice machine! Next door is a very charming English pub, Cameron's Inn. Don't miss it!
I booked 7-3 a room for an up coming wedding and we had a block of rooms reserved (at least 10 rooms booked for the weekend of Oct 24-27.) On Thursday (10-24) we arrived at 9 PM to find out the hotel was over booked and we had no room. I had called on Monday 10-21 to let the hotel of our late arrival and that we were to be booked in a 2 queen room.Everything was fine for our arrival late Thursday. After front desk tried everything she contacted her manager William to help find us a room. Very satisfied the front desk called hotel management and was able to find us two rooms at a discounted rate. Happy with the service we went off to bed after a long drive. Sat 25 after visiting with family at another hotel I came back to being locked out of my room and my daughters had also been locked out. My husband came back locked out also. Found out the front desk only reserved our rooms for one night??? Oct 26 I checked my banking acct. to find we were charged for weekend rates. Not rates on confirmation, not rates agreed to on Thurs but much higher rates! I talked to William he agreed to look into it and fix it. Nothing was done. Beyond the hotels control PG&E shut down power Sat 26 threw Sunday 27. We could not check out properly. I was told again by Vicki that agreement on Thurs.night would be what we were charged. We were charged $1380.00 and additional 460.00 pending. Our original charge was to be 733.99. And Thurs. night we agreed to a different charge at a discounted rate for both rooms. All should have had AAA discount on top of it. NOW, William manager will not return my calls. He has been on property in "meetings" per Bob all day. I've left 4 messages. NOW I had to call customer care and they couldn't get in-touch with hotel. So I have a file number. I also contacted my back and they are ready to dispute charges. As the post from 10-28 on this feed it was difficult not having a shower, flushing toilets, coffee or breakfast, sleeping with generators from RV park and Pub that is attached but I know its not in the hotels control. Better planning since when we checked in and were told this is happened 2 other times in the last month would have been nice. I do feel bad for the young girl walking guest to their rooms with the flash light on her phone and having no one else with her in the pitch black. Maybe bottled water for guests leaving, fruit, breakfast bars....we had to drive to Gillroy before we could stop for gas and food. Again not the hotels fault but service would have been nice. Again, leaving (on Sunday 27) Vicki agree and remembered the price William had given us on Thurs the 24. AND SHE HAD THE PAPER COPY I SIGNED THURS NIGHT! My only regret was not to get a copy of what I signed on Thursday night with discounted price and AAA discount on top. If William would just return my 5 phone calls and give us back the money we were over charged it would be simple. And I have called verifying they have power several times since Sunday. What is more important a happy customer or a meeting? I know William was on property in "meetings" . I had problems with staying at a Best Western we would normally choose a different chain but because of the wedding and reserved block we went with it. At this point I am very turned off by the hotel chain. So is my husband.
Our stay at this best western started out great. The staff was nice and personable, breakfast was great too. Due to recent fires in Northern California, though, some areas had their power cut. We can sympathize that this situation is out of the hotel's control but 1) these outages were forecasted way in advance and 2) other establishments were able to prepare well with generators. Even the pub next door had their lights on because they were well prepared to handle the situation. Loss of power meant no breakfast, no coffee (besides cheap, foul-tasting keurig coffee), no WiFi (which caused delays in business I had to conduct online that day), no hot water for showering and then the obvious no light in the room nor TV. The cleaning staff was very accommodating but management seemed condescending, brushing our issues aside like they were part of the regular experience. Obviously, this isn't the most expensive hotel in the area but it still wasn't cheap to stay here. We expected and paid for an experience of which we only received a fraction. Please refund at least part of our bill!
Love this new addition to HMB - it's always tough finding lodging since it's such a quaint town - but this was a great find. Bed was amazingly comfortable, my toddler passed out both nights and slept straight through - she never does that. The breakfast sausages rocked too -
Read great reviews so we decided to stay here. Location is good, close to beaches and hikes in the area. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Breakfast was good and the freshly squeezed orange juice was so good.
We stayed in Half Moon Bay for one night to go to the Pumpkin Festival. We arrived at the Best Western about 10:15 am. I ran inside to simply ask if we could park our vehicle, and walk to the festival. Suzanne at the front desk (Awesome!) looked up my reservation, and told me we could check in. I was very surprised, but very happy to check in so early. Suzanne was super friendly and gave some helpful local knowledge advice. We didn't experience a lot of the amenities, as we were out and about, but the hotel was great. Very clean and comfortable. Our room was spacious and clean. The bed was so comfortable, we over slept while taking a late afternoon nap. I would recommend this hotel for the staff, cleanliness, and comfortable bed. The walk to downtown is about 15 minutes, and easy. We ate at the pub next door. Slightly funky, but entertaining. The food and drinks were good.
I would have rated this as excellent except that the front desk process was extremely difficult to check in, to check out and to cancel additional reservations. Either there is an unfriendly computer system or all shifts have no computer skills. Room is clean, breakfast buffet is good too. Only issues were with all times dealing with the front desk
Stayed two nights with my family. We were charged $200 and accused of breaking a sofa bed and stealing a throw blanket. Everything worked perfectly with the bed (which my 4-year-old slept on) and we never saw a throw blanket. I had to ask for a blanket from housekeeping as there was never any throw blanket on the bed as the manager asserted. I am baffled and upset by the accusation and the charge. Needless to say, it has left a terrible impression.
Brand new property that is leagues better than any regular Best Western Plus. I originally wanted to stay at the Ritz-Carlton with the rest of my group but I was convinced by a friend to just stay at this property. Great decision! The General Manager provided me a complimentary upgrade due to my BW rewards elite standing and I was impressed by the bathrobes and slippers in the room. The fireplace was a nice touch and all of the staff I interacted with were kind and helpful. I will be returning on my next trip. Thank you William, Jim and Carmen for your excellent service!
To me this was a basic economy hotel, but with mid price room cost. It looks fairly new but the carpet in the corridor was grubby. There was no safe in the room for valuables, but there was a fridge in which to keep the drinks cool. The self service breakfast was the sort that you get at motels. and on one occasion was so busy, they were running out of the basic items like milk for cereal, bread for toast, egg, sausage, juice etc., with only 1 person trying to provide it all. Apart from the room provided for the breakfast, they didn't provide for any other meals, but there was a quirky pub next door for other meals, or if you have transport, the town had plenty of cafes.
This was the best Best Western Plus I have ever stayed at. It is even nicer than Best Western Premier's I've been to, and absolutely beats competitors in the same bracket and even almost every 4 star hotel I have been to. Absolutely fantastic and incredible staff!
First and foremost this hotel is kept over the top clean!!! The housekeeping is team oriented by ALL staff. Probably the most enjoyable stay of our 14 day road trip. Everyone was kind and over accommodating!! Love this place!!
Located just south of town. Very quiet and clean, with comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Helpful staff. Ample motel-type breakfast buffet. I like that they participate in a green inn program, tho the plastic plates at breakfast seem inconsistent with that.
My first trip to Half Moon Bay was enhanced by my stay at this property. Check in experience (Ray) was polite and welcoming. Room was superb! Excellent bed, huge TV, bedside tablet to access all hotel information, spotlessly clean. I was on vacation with a flexible schedule and had reservations for one night. After checking in and settling into my room, I decided to make Half Moon Bay my base. Visited again with Ray and extended my stay at this BW for an additional two nights. In my book, this place is a perfect 10!
Nice clean hotel with tasty breakfasts but... No decaf at breakfast. I asked and they did make some. Ran out of yogurt at 7:30. I asked, none was available. Bed was way to soft. Staff either gave the wrong directions or didn't know where attractions were. No map available. Cleaning person had knocked shower door off track. I had to fix it. No comfortable place to sit outside with a view. Property is tucked into a small space. Lots of parking however. Property is attached to a British style pub and restaurant. The food there is ok and very reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in the area. Conclusion: I wouldn't come back for the price/amenities ratio.
Excellent choice if you are looking for a newer property with clean comfortable rooms and ample amenities. Close to all activities. A very quiet location to serve as home base. The free breakfast was especially nice. Highly recommend this location
Impeccably clean and comfortable rooms, and very friendly staff. The British theme is a little unusual for the location but rather fun (and the similarly-themed attached pub is also enjoyable). The included breakfast was decent (other than the instant scrambled eggs) and came with fresh juice from a press loaded with ripe oranges. Coffee quality was great.
We stayed for only one evening, however we found it spotless, charming and accommodating. It's simple and tasteful, and we found the room very comfortable. The front desk staff are kind and efficient. It's an easy walk to the beautiful beach. Great value!
Centrally located .Very nicely decorated with a British theme. Small lobby, no pool ,no outdoor place to sit or gather. The rooms are comfortable but small for the price. I think this property is over priced.
Nice hotel with incredible service and location. We aware that rooms do not fit 4 persons, there is a sofa bed available where it is not possible to sleep at all, we had to put the sofa matress on the floor to be able to hardly sleep.
This Best Western is a great place to stay. It's recently renovated, close to various attractions, with a lovely breakfast and nice staff. There is a faux British pub next door, with great beers and ales on tap like Anchor Steam, smithwick, Guinness, etc. the fish and chips are also good, and the portion big enough for two. Our room was spacious, with a really nice walk in shower. We stretched our legs by taking a nice walk down the street next to it, that went past a ball field and into a nature preserve—beautiful. The next morning, we took a short ride to the Ritz and went on the coastal walk. The staff at the desk was friendly and helpful.
The hotel was so nice and clean with a good breakfast, that it spoiled us for the rest of our trip. Our next stops just couldn't live up to Cameron's Inn. I totally recommend Cameron's Inn. It's not your standard Best Western.
overall good experience. new hotel. Would go back to stay. Windows need blackout drapes for sleeping at night. too much light gets in with the type of window blinds that are in place. Plumbing noisy and shower head out of reach to adjust unless you are very tall.
I stayed there for the first time while attending a business meeting in the area. Decor and location was breathtaking. Staff was very very pleasant and kind. Breakfast, room amenities, WiFi all plus. Food options onsite (Pub) was very convenient.
We stayed here for one night on a family road trip. The Hotel itself was lovely. The rooms were super clean and nicely decorated. The lobby and nearby pub were decorated with a charming British theme. Overall this was a picture perfect hotel, and the accommodations work great. My biggest complaint is with the location. It is over a mile in either direction to any restaurant, other than the on-site British pub. The nearest beach is a 28 minute walk from the hotel, passing by a large R V park, garbage bins, and various industrial looking facilities. The breakfast at the hotel was a fine free hotel breakfast. The orange juice machine was very impressive, but most people using it had trouble getting it to work. One issue is that the machine only works by pushing a button on the side. But the button has a big sign saying “do not touch“. So it led to a lot of confusion by the guests, and needed one of the staff to assist. Breakfast ran from 7 AM to 10 AM, and we arrived on the early side, around 745. However we discovered later that waffles and berries were put out after 8 o'clock. If we had known that only part of the breakfast will be served early, we would've come down later. Finally the hotel has signs around saying it is a “green hotel“. This is very nice, but then surprising that the breakfast features plastic plates and plastic cutlery that can only go in a landfill. It would make more sense either for the hotel to remove the “green hotel“ signs, or to make decisions that actually were friendly for the environment at breakfast, such as compostable plates and forks, or washable ceramic plates that would have a nicer feeling as well. If we needed a basic hotel in this location again, we would stay here. But I would not recommend it to anyone who is looking to experience Half Moon Bay for a vacation, unless you plan to drive everywhere .
Great Find on Highway 1 - this property was conveniently located and an excellent value. Properties on this scenic route can be pricey or old or both - this was neither. In a 14 day road trip it was also the only property with a guest laundry which can be extremely helpful on a road trip.
Best Western Plus Cameron's Inn has a convenient location with easy access to Main Street/Half Moon Bay shopping area and only minutes away from the coastal scenery spots. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Last but not least, thanks to Jim who provided us with a very quiet room!
Fresh and modern hotel that is fairly new. Spotless conditions everywhere at the hotel. Nature walk/park at the end of the street to see the coastal views but a fairly long walk to get down to the sandy beach. 30 min from the airport, 50 minutes from the San Francisco Bridge or wharf area.
The hotel is trying so hard to conserve resources that they don't provide enough shampoo, towels or breakfast for the guests, which lowered the Value rating for me. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. We checked in after midnight and were greeted by a very nice gentleman. I gave location a 4 star rating because it was hard to find a parking place. I gave service a 4 rating because the breakfast was not sufficient. I gave rooms a 4 star rating because there wasn't enough shampoo and towels.
Wonderful staff. The rooms are clean. The breakfast was very good. Close to the beach. Camerons Pub is next door and has great food. The staff at check-in are very friendly. The bed is very comfortable too!!
A nice Best Western property conveniently located in Half Moon Bay, the British theme of the hotel and the decor are refreshing. Everything about this property has a "plus" to it. Also conveniently located to visit the beaches/state parks in the area as well as a couple of restaurants downtown. Not far from San Francisco itself or the airport, Half Moon Bay makes a nice stop overnight if you need to get to the airport the following day.
My husband and I stayed here on May 23-26. The hotel and room were very clean and the beds were comfortable. We had a room facing the RV Park next door but even with the window open they were very quiet. My husband enjoyed the breakfast( I have dietary restrictions, so I'm unable to eat it) but appreciate that I'm able to use the appliances for my food I bring. The hotel staff was very nice and professional especially Ray. He greeted us when we checked in, when we came back to the hotel at night and even let us know when there was something going on at Cameron's next door. I really liked the British theme of the hotel too. We will keep this hotel on our list of Best Westerns to stay at when we visit Half Moon Bay again.
This is one of the better Best Western I have been in: nicely equipped, fast check-in, quiet, reasonable breakfast. Approx. 30 minutes to S.F. airport, so a good choice after arriving or before leaving.
This hotel is new and fresh, clean with simple modern aesthetics. The room is comfortable, very clean, and everything was well appointed. The bedding was very comfortable and the lighting options were diverse. All of the staff was sincere, friendly, and provided responsive and professional service. I'd stay here again in a heart beat.
My husband and I stayed at the Best Western Cameron's Inn this weekend. We arrived quite late as we had been at a wedding nearby. I had called the hotel earlier in the day to let them know we'd be arriving very late and they were very accommodating - including putting us a nice close room so that when we arrived we didn't have to roam all over the hotel to get to our room. The room itself was large, bright, and clean. The bed was comfortable. The only thing I noticed was you could hear the plumbing in from nearby rooms, but this seems to be an issue in most hotels. For the price point in that area, I was very pleasantly surprised.
We came to Half Moon Bay for a family wedding. The wedding hotel was very pricey, so we looked for other options. We chose the Best Western and honestly, we thought we'd be roughing it. Boy were we surprised! The place is fantastic! Newly remodeled in a super cute style that is a sweet nod to the bay and to the unique pub next door. The beds were comfy and the rooms were very clean. The free breakfast was awesome and included a fresh orange juice machine that was a total hit with our family. Honestly, a few family members came over from their hotel and were annoyed that they we're paying $400 a night for their rooms. The location is cool too. First, Cameron's pub is super fun and unique. We had some good food and great beer. Next, the location is on the same road as a beautiful open space with trails for miles in every direction. There is also a park on the other side of highway one with mountainous red wood hiking and mountain biking. I cannot overstate how happy we are with our choice to stay at this hotel. We will definitely be back!
Really nice, very clean hotel (even the hallways still have that new carpet smell). Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was great - we especially enjoyed the fresh strawberries and blueberries on top of the freshly made waffles. We also really liked the fresh fruit infused water & coffee station that welcomes you as you enter the lobby. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time we're in Half Moon Bay
This appeared to be a brand new hotel, everything is extremely clean and modern. Even the drawers have the soft close feature. I typically stay at Hilton's, this had a nicer free morning buffet than any Hilton I've stayed at.
Very good hotel. Staff very good and good pub for food next door. Good place to stay if visiting the area.Breakfast very good and hotel under a year old. Hood location for beach. Ample parking with big bays
This appeared to be a brand new hotel, everything is extremely clean and modern. Even the drawers have the soft close feature. I typically stay at Hilton's, this had a nicer free morning buffet than any Hilton I've stayed at.
Almost new hotel very nice on edge of town. Great service particularly the front desk , and clean but not too much of a view. All hotels in region seem pricey...this one is nice and new. Some good restaurants relatively close by with nice views and a pub adjoining which we did not try
The manager and staff at Best Western Plus Cameron's Inn were exceptional. They were incredibly helpful, nice and welcoming, making sure our comfort was foremost. We stayed here for my husband's 49er birthday and they treated us very well. Hotel was clean and best of all, steps away from Cameron's Restaurant and Pub, one of our favorite places to go. After a nice walk toward the ocean, we went to the pub for Shepherd's Pie and pints. Free breakfast in the morning at the hotel with fresh squeezed orange juice. What more could we ask for?
It it the climate and the feng sway of the landscape. Driving from region to region your body adjusts to a new tempo. Leaving San Francisco traveling Highway 1 South, we soaked up the sun, wind , surf in a sparsely populated pastoral setting . About 1hour later we arrived at our destination , Best Western Plus Cameron Inn. Right off 1, it is easy to find. Being less than a year old, the guests are few. By word of mouth this by all rights needs to change. The staff was great. The food selection at breakfast offered three hot entrees. Everything was fresh. The rooms were clean and had several amenities which included a gas fireplace ,a tablet to use, a television with great programming. Starbucks k-cups ,Evian water and a refrigerator/wine cabinet. The view is not spectacular but coming up under a down comforter on top of a king pillow top bed was most amenable. The theme is a nautical one. Which is cute. And they even have a set of 5-6 hard bound books set on a shelf to peruse . I read from a collection of short stories which included Sherwood Anderson. The only items missing were local/national newspapers (which they said they are addressing). For dining, walk no further than 150 feet outside the hotel , to the right. The Cameron Inn Pub (not affiliated with the hotel) offered a great food selection at a 10-20 range with good sized portions with plenty of locals to rub elbows with at the bar or the pass through room where local musicians played that night(open mic-Thursday's). Wood paneled, relaxed, and various old photos ,posters, and beer cans decorate the walls. It's funky and fun. Being 1 hour south of San Francisco and equally that far north of Santa Cruz lies the problem in Marketing this fine rest stop. I however would advise the traveler to see California through the backroads. Leaving Half Moon Bay, I would head towards Santa Cruz stoppping at the histiric Pidgeon Point Lighthouse and Ana Nuevo to see the walrus migration on the beaches. Stop at Santa Cruz Pier for lunch at Stagansros (end of the wharf)and a coffee in the funky enclave of coffee shops and book stores in downtown Santa Cruz before probably ending the day st lodging in the more traditional tourist stops of Monterey and Carmel.
Our expectations were exceeded in every category...from reception to departure. Cameron's lovely, British mother-along with Bob (formerly an exec. running SFO)-gave us a warm, sincere greeting, and we were soon up on the second floor-gratified with our assigned lodgings...including a fireplace on this rainy weekend. Later, meeting Cameron, the owner, it just got better, and we learned of the historic nature of the property, and were 'wowed' by the pub-with all of its eclectic collections. Half Moon Bay, in its entirety, suffered a power loss early on the Tuesday morning that apparently lasted until evening, but no one missed a proverbial beat (rooms were cleaned and readied, desks were manned, and the great hot breakfast was partially laid out...inclusive of perhaps one of the few hot urns of coffee on a powerless day). Briefly stated, we very much enjoyed our stay, and we will return...without question. Thanks to all the employees who personalized our visit.
Staff were really helpful and the place required a car to get to (coming from a land of public transport). I would strongly recommend that the hotel revisit their waste policy. The breakfast was full of plastic (plates and cutlery) that I imagine goes straight to landfill. Such organisations (especially surrounded by such natural beauty) really need to sort this out. I didn't get an 'environmentally friendly' feel about the place. It's pity, as this hotel was really nice otherwise.
Clean premises and nice staff. This is a new hotel in the area and our 2nd stay. Pros: good location, fireplace in room, hotel premises new and clean. Cons: bed is very hard and uncomfortable, breakfast not great, internet terrible and room for was not very clean.
Best Western Plus Cameron's Inn is a wonderful hotel. Very clean, beautifully decorated, high end amenities, Reasonable cost. Friendly staff. Wonderful scenic drive to Half Moon Bay. One of the nicest hotels I've stayed at for business
This is a well located, really nice new hotel located just a couple miles from the Ritz Carlton which is 3-4 times more expensive on any given night. Stay here to save a couple of bucks and visit the Ritz for sundown or for a drink. The room was very clean, breakfast was great, love Cameron's Pub right next door. Best value in HMB area. The only thing is the front desk staff(woman) was not too friendly, did not greet us in or out the door.
I've never stayed at a hotel where the front desk staff do not look up and greet you at all except for check-in. That makes a big difference to me. The sofa bed was also broken. It was my husband's birthday too. I'm surprised and disappointed Best Western.
One of the best Hotels we stayed in . Top performers from the reception all the way to the meals in the restaurant/Pub. Even for British visitors the red iconic double decker bus in the car lot looked amazing.
This seems like a new BW, absolutely clean, everything appears brand new. Great fitness center, wonderful breakfast, delightful staff. Very good location to town center, beach and highway access. The beds were great. Just an overall wonderful experience.
We stayed here one night traveling from San Francisco to Monterey. It is a great location, but it is right next to an RV park so for us that was our view, but for only one night we just kept the blinds closed. The room was very clean and comfortable. We got the Queen Room with a couch and fireplace. The fireplace was nice to have on a cold night. We also ate the English pub nextdoor. It's a cute place, but the food wasn't great, but the beer was, and it was nice not have to drive at night to eat. Free breakfast in the morning is really good. Waffle makers, fresh orange juice machine, eggs, bacon, cereal, yogurt, fruite and of course coffee. Definitely recommend this hotel for a business travel or families passing through this beautiful part of CA.
Had an amazing experience with my family, beautiful rooms, customer service and amenities. Will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. Loved every minute of our time here. We will be back
Hotel is brand new, so I thought they would meet all our ADA needs. The hotel is beautiful & the room was pristine. Great bathroom with bars & roll in shower. The big problem is the bed. Why make an exceptional handicapped accessible room and have the bed several feet high? There was no way my husband could have the capability to reach it. I was so hoping we could have stayed here, but it was not possible. Just be aware if you need a lower bed. The staff were nice & were able to cancel our multiple night stay.
We LOVE this hotel! The décor is new and fresh, the bedrooms are comfortable, clean and fresh (we even had a room last time we stayed with a fireplace and sofa area = amazing!), the breakfast is the BEST of any hotel offering free breakfast - fresh squeezed orange juice and slice strawberry/blueberry for your waffles. Staff is friendly, and it's a short walk to the beach and an amazing walk through a cypress tree tunnel. Just can't say enough about this amazing hotel!
It's almost impossible to find a clean, relatively new hotel offering reasonable price range, but I'm really glad to find Best Western Plus Cameron's Inn. Comfortable room featuring a complimentary Evian bottle water in a glass bottle and nice tea, coffee collection. Highly recommend it!
This place is new and very clean. Not far from San Francisco, it's a staycation for us!! Check in was no fuss, we were welcomed in. The room is big compared with other Best Western Plus. There's a fireplace which got my husband very excited. There's HBO channels, it's all wonderful. We are very glad to find this place. There's a pub right next door. We shall find out later...
We shopped this place. We arrived at 5pm for our room. There was a lady there who ignored us, 2 minutes later she acknowledges us. She checks us in, prints us a breakfast menu (which was great) and then told us where our room was. No smile, no enjoy your stay, nothing. Less one star. My husband asks her about the connecting restaurant, she doesn't know. I told her it was our anniversary, nothing. RUDE!! You better learn not to bring your issues to work. My lil 4 year old even said hi to her, nothing. The room was new & well designed with a gas fireplace, a table, a pull out bed/couch ( for kids. ) nice shower. The room did have a few ants. We had a kuerig with free pods, fridge and free water in the room. No microwave. We had a great breakfast (it ends at 10) with waffles, eggs, bacon, potatoes, fruit, yogurt breads almost anything you can think of. Only thing I would add is a microwave & clock, the Ipad they give you requires log in we didn't get that from the check in lady. The staff was great ( except one) overall we enjoyed this hotel and will be back!
We stayed at Cameron's Best Western for three nights visiting family in the Bay area. The hotel is only three months old and it was wonderful staying in a new place. The room was new clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff is great and friendly. The breakfast was very good with comfortable seating. It's location is close to downtown Half Moon Bay area and also close to the public beaches. In addition, they have a great restaurant Cameron's Pub and Grill right on the grounds. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.
What a great stay 30 min from san Francisco! Short drive to beach access. The room was impeccable, bed was fantastic, staff was super friendly and helpful breakfast was delish qoth a wide variety of options.I highly recommend this place !
I am making sure to sit down and write a review of this place...b/c it's an excellent little hotel on the outskirts of sleepy Half Moon Bay. Excellent/friendly front desk staff and the other employees that I passed by always made a point to speak and say hello. It's either new or freshly renovated and very clean. Also, the beds are SOOO comfortable...slept like a baby every night (was there for a two night stay.) . I highly reco this place if you're staying in Half Moon Bay!
I had a room on the ground floor. I was told that there would be a water bottle in my room. Nope and when I woke in the morning wanting caffeine at 5am only to find out the Kurieg had not been filled and there was only Decaf :( I was a little surprised that there was no table in the room to work from. I never see this and used to being able to work in my room in the evening. The bed sufficed as a make shift table. Beds are awesome thick sheets and high quality bedding. Huge screen TV. Room was spotless you could eat off the floors. Great older perky amusing gentleman at check in. Breakfast is good. Pub next door is cheap food was amazing.
Place is brand new! Delightfully cute looking lobby. Room was welcoming and inviting. Loved the shower! Personnel were helpful and cheerful. Beaches are in walking distances or short drive. The Pub is right next door. Oh breakfast was delicious and a full breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes. Fresh orange juice and coffee among danishes and cereal. Ritz Carlton nearby and 30 minutes from Pigeon Point Lighthouse! Go and see! Also, for a great dinner Sam's Chowder House. See pictures!
Although this looks so clean, because it is only 4 weeks old, check for a clean bed. We arrived and found a used soap bar in the shower. Threw it away and "got over" seeing 2 hairs on the bathroom floor; however, went to crawl in bed and noticed hairs on the pillow. Once I pulled the sheets down, it was very obvious someone had slept in it and there was hair top to bottom. Totally disgusting. It was late, in my jammies, and we were able to move all of our stuff over to another room, but not happy about it. Upon checkout, I would have expected some type of apology, explanation, or refund....NOTHING
We stayed for two nights. We appreciated the clean, spacious rooms. Bob assisted us during check in, and he was extremely helpful and courteous. The breakfast host was prompt and friendly. All the housekeeping staff was friendly as well. We would definitely recommend staying here. We would stay again.
We were super happy to stay in this hotel. Although you have to drive a piece to San Francisco, the quality of the service at the reception, the quality of breakfast and a good price make up for it. The room and bathroom were spacious and very well equipped. The beds are very comfortable. You can see that a good designer was involved in the hotel's decor, as shown in the attached photos of the room and the lobby. The hotel is worth recommending!
If you plan to request a group rate or simply a block of reserved rooms from this hotel don't bother. I called twice and left a voicemail, sent an email with the person in charge of group reservations, and called the front desk several times and I still haven't heard anything from them. It's been 3 weeks. The courteous thing to do would be to call me back and at least say you don't have any blocks or deals available.
This place is not worth $350. No grab bar in the shower. No bedside light. Had to ask for a refrigerator. No microwave oven. Manager was friendly. Admit that the room was very clean and the bed comfortable.
Our family stayed at the Best Western Plus half moon bay. The hotel opened 9 days ago. It was a delight and brand spankin new.The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The rooms were clean, comfortable .... been driving across country and had the best nights sleep ever!! New features are being added every day and if I come back to the area i'd definitely stay there again.
Poor management, we were left high and dry without a room after booking several months in advanced. No call back from manager, had to book somewhere else last minute. completely ignored by any staff. Talked to corporate, who is also upset with this particular owner . Stay somewhere else!
This hotel just opened and it spotless! The decor is amazing and the staff is very helpful! The breakfast was wondeful and they even had fresh berries! The kids loved the robes. We originally only planned on staying one night but ended up staying two since we liked it so much!
I feel scammed. This hotel is not open, and we don't have confirmation of when it is open. Best Western cooperate was not helpful, and you cannot contact this hotel directly right now. We booked for a Saturday in August, and I am not willing to take the risk of showing up, and there being no hotel.
I too booked a room several months ago. I'm now about 3 weeks from my arrival date and still don't know if they will be open in time. I have tried to call the hotel, but they don't have a phone line hooked up yet (that should be a sign?) and get sent to a call center. The BW customer service was super nice and they too seem a bit frustrated with this hotel. I have been trying to get an answer for over a week now with inquires via phone and emails still have no response. BW reached out to the hotel manager and said he/she has 7 days to respond. Times up! Time to look for another hotel, BW should be embarrassed by this.
What a headache. I booked this hotel 6 months ago. It is now 3 days before our trip, I looked online to call and make sure everything was set. Call went to call center (which was friendly) however this hotel is not due to be open for a few more months! This manager/hotel allowed us to book and was just going to let us show up from out of state with our infant and not have a place to stay. Poor management and they are not even open. I called in the morning and they tried to get ahold of the manager, who never called back, now several hours later the manager has still not called me or best western corporate back. The manager I'm told is supposed to re-book us or rectify the situation and just chose not to. So not only am I now paying double for a hotel as it's 3 days before a holiday weekend, I have waisted 2 hours of my time on hold with customer service and trying to rebook another hotel.
