I read reviews on this Best Western Hotel, and as always, I take each review in as a whole part and not just on an individual basis. I look at the common likes and dislikes of the reviews and see what the highs and lows of them may be. I have to say that the more positive reviews were very spot on in giving details on service, cleanliness, and other amenities. I agree very much with the positive reviews of this hotel and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that needs one in this location. The service members were very friendly and helpful with our stay. They were very informative about all the hotel information and amenities. (Time of check out, hours of the breakfast, etc.) We found our room to be very clean and comfortable to stay in. WiFi connection was very easy to connect to and the beds, to us, were very pleasant. The pillows, which one negative reviewer had a gripe about, caused my partner to realize she needs a new pillow at home. I found them at just the right level of firm/softness that I enjoyed them. The breakfast was of the standard "breakfast foods." That is not a bad thing in my opinion, and it provided a nice hot meal in the morning. The food was presented in a very clean and well maintained manner. The solo service member responsible for the dining and food areas kept everying clean, stocked and was very helpful. We dined very well, and went back to our room to relax, filling full, before our check out time. I found that most of the negative reviews were very specific in their issues mentioned. So specific that I would tend to believe that the issues were more of that customer's personal nitpick than something caused by the hotel or service members. Once again, I found this to be a very comfortable, friendly, and enjoyable stay. I will recommend this hotel to anyone that asks. If I find myself in this area again, I will most definitely book my stay here.
I stayed at the Batesville Best Western for two nights for a wedding I was in locally. Starting out the staff was very kind and informative when checking me in, once in my room it looked and smelled clean and was very cozy, perfect for me and my fiancée. I do want to brag on the bed for a moment… I simply didn't want to leave it! It's like I sank into and was comfy, I also wanted some how get my hands on the blankets and sheets they used, perfectly soft and great weight to them I slept like a baby. The breakfast was simple but hearty, I don't need to much but it had about all the basic you'd needed! I also want to brag on a breakfast attendant they had her name was Janie! She was an older woman and she was nothing but a dream, constantly cleaning, attending to the food stations and coming to ask if she could take you plates ti the trash! I've never had that happen, overall I am just so impressed with this hotel and if need be will definitely be back!!!
Very nice, convenient hotel right off the highway. Restaurants, gas, and grocery store within walking distance. It has an indoor pool and a nice breakfast in the morning. Beds were comfortable and the room was very clean and a very pleasant stay for us.
So we came in town on the 7th for a wedding that I booked a handicap room for. Upon arrival we checked in fine and had zero issues. Once we arrived in the first room it was so small in the bed area that I couldn't even get my wheelchair on the side of the bed that I transfer into (ADA room keep in mind). I also noticed the bed was extremely high which transferring from a manual wheelchair into this bed would have been impossible even using my sliding board. My wife also noticed a lot of ants in the bathroom in the first room. The only thing ADA in that room was a lower peep hole and the bathroom. I work in the field of accessibility and have even been asked to review accessibility in hotels. Moving on to room two. I asked the lady at the front desk about my concerns and she was very polite and even went to check a suite room for me. I went with her and initially it was better. It had more space and even a separate bedroom that had more room. The bathroom was even manageable though not ADA. So we quickly agreed this would work because there was a pullout if the bed wouldn't be an option. I did not check the pullout or the new bed, which wait for it was EVEN higher than the first. We were now stuck yet again and my wife can't help me much with transferring. Fast forward at the wedding we attended I called twice to speak to a young man and explained to him that in other hotels I have stayed I simply take the box spring and mattress off and put it on the floor. He simply said we can't do that and offered no explanation as to why. He wasn't being asked to I even said I would do it just to SLEEP there. Call number two to him wasn't any better and was even hung up on with let me talk to my manager then click. Now I was fuming. My ask wasn't even that much and has people at the wedding offering to help me just get into the bed. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO ASK FOR HELP IN A ADA ROOM OR NOT. Finally my wife and I decided it put a damper in our night and we left the wedding earlier and decided to just drive home after asking for a refund. So if you have read all this review, please do not stay here if you're wheelchair bound and have any self respect. They will not accommodate and the manager even told me that they talk about the rooms not being ADA and the beds being so high all the time. SO manager FIX IT. She also told me after I called back today that I said the second room would work for me, I did to a degree because the pullout was an option. Lastly she also said she wished I would have said something sooner because they lost out on two rooms being rented that night. Sorry not sorry. Don't stay here.
This place is very nice and the check-in was easy. The room had a king size bed and all the amenities including and Iron and board. They had a hot breakfast in the morning. I was able to park my car with no problem. It had a business center with a printer.
Been staying at this hotel since it was built as a Hampton Inn years ago. Hotel was totally renovated when it became a Best Western a few years ago and the rooms and public areas are very comfortable and this is a very well maintained property. Room had nice decor and very clean. The breakfast was one of the better ones we have had in a long time mainly because the bakery items were fresh. The biggest strength at this hotel was the staff from check-in to check out, very friendly and accommodating. Would stay again.
Moisture levels were unbearable sending me into a asthma attack, rooms smelled of cigarette smoke and the pillows were yellow from summer sweat of hard working men smelled horrible.I ended up leaving the motel after a hospital visit and never stayed all night
There were literally ants EVERYWHERE! Like hundreds (on the floor, in the bathroom, on the table in between the two beds, even had one or two on our bed)! When we notified the front desk staff, they laughed and said they knew about it already as the hotel has been having to get sprayed for ants twice per week and they just said “okay, we might just have to spray again.” They are literally still booking people in to these infested rooms, this is disgusting!
At first look, this seemed like a really nice hotel. The halls were clean leading to the room. At first glance, the room was fine, but then there were little tiny ants....lots of them. Next there was paper and plastic around the edges where the housekeeper missed, plus dirt and hair on the bathroom floor. There were some disgusting discoveries, as well and the fitness room smelled like a dog kennel.
This is a newer hotel, located right next to a shopping center. Ryan, at the desk, was very helpful with helping us reserve a wheelchair accessible room {THANKS!). The location wasn't exactly scenic, but close to the interstate with no noise. The room was surprisingly great, with a well thought out design for a disability room. The price was a real bargain for a room of that quality, and the free breakfast was far above average. We met some really nice folks staying there for a memorial service. Would totally recommend.
Always great service, clean rooms, and a great pool! It's great pets can be there! Highly recommend anyone who will be traveling close by and need a place to stay.
I got to the hotel after midnight we had a 4 hour drive. The room smelled like dog poop. They were going to change our room the next day. They called twice at 9 am to make us move rooms. My kids had no where to sleep the suite does not have a couch bed. We all slept in same bed. The next night I got them a rollaway I was charged for. When we were finally able to relax in pool jacuzzi my husband had to fix because it didn't work. The front desk attendant Ryan came to tell us pool was closed. Watched as my daughter and I got out and watched us leave, it made me feel very uncomfortable. The refrigerator they had in the suite was tiny only fit a couple drinks. We stayed 2 nights. When we went to Ryan to exchange our towels he acted like it was a problem. He was very disrespectful. The room was nothing like what it showed online. I have worked in hospitality when I was younger that is not how you treat people paying hard earned money to stay away from home. Your supposed to make them feel welcome not like they are a problem
Hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I was staying there because of a death of friend. The staff offered their condolences and gave me directions on how to get to the funeral services. It help me make it through the day.
Although the staff was very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good, we would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. There was a child's toy laying on the floor in our room, the used coffee packet was still in the coffee maker, and there was hair all over the bathroom - all evidence of it NOT having been cleaned.
The room was clean and well stocked. Kids loved the pool and hot tub (they had it to themselves) I got to relax by the pool. Breakfast was a big hit. Everyone got to pick what they wanted and it was all hot and fresh. Will stay here again when in the area.
This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at and it's supposedly a three star hotel? Don't waste your time with such an unprofessional staff and terrible rooms. They also refuse to acknowledge that they should do better by making it right! If they would have refunded me for my experience, then I wouldn't be writing this review.
This Best Western hit every mark. Friendly, clean, and accommodating. This was a last minute stop but we were pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful pool and hot tub. The breakfast was everything we'd expect at a Best Western and it was well stocked and kept clean. Would definitely stay here again!
This hotel is close to the highway and good for member points. Not very many hotel choices in the Batesville area. For services provided it is decent but we have corporate rate. Pool/whirlpool seems to always be closed for visits. Decently clean. It is an older hotel that needs remodeled to other BW standards.
We arrived about 7 pm with no reservation. Check in was smooth. Beds very comfortable, room clean, and in safe area. Morning hot breakfast served, we didn't stay but appeared adequate. We would stay here again. Only thing is we wanted a handicap room with 2 beds and only king available- we didn't have reservations so understand
This was a cozy, clean hotel in a semi populated area. Felt like a safe place with good neighborhood surroundings. We were just staying to break up our trip however this was a very pleasant experience.
This hotel very accommodating for what we needed. We were surprised it also had pool and hot tub for the economical price. We slept well and breakfast was fresh. If you're passing through I would stay again.
Dirty, poor and borderline rude service, bugs and spiders in room Hallway smelled of dead rat. Stairs have never been cleaned. Litter in hallways and stairs Rear exit door was broken and cracked open allowing anyone to enter Hot tub was broken (told by a patron that it's been broken for months). Loud unattended minors swimming in pool after 8 pm
Pool was closed for the whole week of my stay, not much food variety for breakfast. Old and noisy AC, windows...........................................................................................
We came for the breakfast and the pool and were not disappointed in either one. If you are needing a simple but comfy space then best western is it. Location was also great as well with Kroger next door and a yummy Mexican restaurant. Enjoy!
The boy at the front desk at check-in was horrible with customer service and very combative when trying to edit my reservation. Very disrespectful. The rooms are designed strange. The shower door opens to the toilet, the corner bathroom door opens inward allowing a tiny space to stand when closing the door. Lots of clunky furniture in such a small space.
Get rid of your manager dorky! Oh I mean Mindy. She's so vile and mean to your customers! She watches for people coming to get breakfast that have no shoes on so she can assert her authority! Refusing you breakfast until you go get your shoes on. Well I asked where the signage is that says I need shoes on to get my breakfast she couldn't find one. Instead she told me it's like any other restaurant you wear shoes! Okay fine!! Then our breakfast consist of very running waffle batter, trying to save money by making it so thin that it wasn't worth crap . The milk was warm for the cereal. But yet it's okay to give me bacillus from spoiled milk. The orange juice was basically pure water you could see through it. I sat and pondered why I can touch everything with my hands etc. But yet my feet are on the floor and she's terrified, so terrified I was ordered to get my shoes on. After breakfast I decided to take a swim. No towels in the swim area. There's a telephone on the wall. With a huge sign with emergency numbers. So I used the phone dialed 0 to ask for towels. It rang the front office but they couldn't hear me. I called 3x. Then I decided to call from my cellphone. My question is.. Mrs Dorky,Mindy is so worried about my shoes that she ignores real issues like being able to call 911 from the pool area in case someone needs help. Not everyone Carry's a cellphone. So dorky go fix bigger issues. Like your phone in the pool area!
Good and efficient stuff. Good hot breakfast every relaxed atmosphere location is filled with convenience. Good for a weekend getaway or family. Stay vacation nearby drive-through‘s and supermarket and service station
friendly staff, hallways clean, outside parking area clean, good lighting in parking area, overall room clean, bathroom clean liens clean and fresh, bed sheets clean and very comfortable bed quit area.
Past Indy and before Cincinnati is Batesville. It's a quiet hamlet away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Enough dining options in town to satisfy our needs. Continuing on our options were to take freeway to Cincinnati/Lexington or rural roads. We chose the rural route as we were in no hurry.
It was very clean and staff was very friendly. Didn't stay in room must do didn't use breakfast bar . Internet worked great. Bed was comfy. Loved the location. Right by highway and grocery store . And a few restaurants.
I would hesitate to stay in this hotel again. The staff was friendly, which we appreciated. But there were too many little things that bothered us. The biggest issue was that our room had ants. We would have requested another room, but we didn't want to disturb my son's family next door when they had already settled in for the night. The front desk attendant did give us a discount. Other things were broken or in poor shape, such as the whirlpool, the luggage cart. The sliding shower doors slid so fast and hard that they smashed my finger.
Stayed in a “suite” with my family this past week. The room was musty and smelled terrible. We found empty bottles and old socks when organizing our luggage. We constantly had to go ask for items (toilet paper, towels, trash bags). The staff was okay. Really wish there was a decent hotel in Batesville.
The hotel is very decent and the sheets are very clean and comfortable. We slept comfortably through the night. Breakfast was from 6-10am. Staff are very friendly and kind. Originally, the online booking shows there is no available room. I called the hotel's number directly just to inquire. Luckily, we manage to secure a room although the price was higher than what was advertised here on this app. Probably, also due to a popular local festival (Freudenfest) which is understable. There were hundreds of tourists visiting the city for this feast. We are just lucky to be even accommodated. The main reason we needed a room on Batesville was to revisit some old friends. This was perfect stopover for my family to our next destination!
Pleasant and friendly staff. Very close to everything. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Very helpful staff. Great value. Only issue, every ice machine was out of order on every floor in 90 degree weather.
This hotel is very clean, the room was clean, has a wonderful staff and a great hot breakfast. I like how the towels were arranged in the bathroom, very neat. The room comes with a refrigerator, microwave and desk area. Lots of plugs for phones, laptops, etc.
Very clean, updated and the beds were very comfy. The hotel was nice overall. Pool was nice and breakfast was good. Gas stations, Mexican restaurant and grocery store within walking distance. Staff was friendly as well!
The room was nice and met our needs. The breakfast had both hot and cold items. Overall our needs were met to our satisfaction ! Would not hesitate to recommend this establishment and personally would stay there again !
What a great experience our family had here. From the very fast and easy check-in to the cleanliness of the room, the relaxing time at the heated pool, both in the evening and the next morning, to the superb breakfast. A really great stay for us.
Very clean, quiet hotel. Traveled with a small dog and received a first floor room close to exit doors. Much appreciated. Bed was comfy. Nicely remodeled hotel. Great breakfast selection. Friendly staff.
The rooms have been updated. The fridge and hairdryer in our room did not work. The beds were very comfortable. The pool is heated, but not super warm. My kids did not mind. Breakfast was good and had longer hours than most.
The check in lady was not nice. If though I gave them my CC for file I was told that was fine but she demand payment go on card. Had to ask for my room key (card) and shower head feel off and smacked ya in the face while showering
We were traveling with another couple on motorcycles. Rita at the front desk was so friendly & helpful. She permitted us to park the bikes under the front awning as it was raining. The heat in our room wasn't working so she quickly set us up in a different room. She recommended places to eat. She was very kind. An asset to your hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. Very grateful for the pool. Would highly recommend this hotel. Very reasonably priced. JA
Clean, updated facility, Very clean in appearance, well maintained! Friendly staff, relational, courteous, and approachable. The hot breakfast was good. Indoor pool offers an opportunity to relax. Room was very clean, comfortable bed!
Pleasantly surprised! We randomly stopped by during a road trip. The place was clean! The staff was friendly and helpful! Also close to everything, restaurants, stores, gas stations… Definitely recommend it, you won't regret it. Only “bad” comment is the room is small because of the furniture (tv unit). Otherwise, clean and comfortable.
We were treated respectfully and quickly. Room was excellent. My wife is very picky and she was impressed with cleanliness. Workers even seemed happy. great atmosphere. I believe Best Western does a good job evaluating their properties.
The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and very nice. The breakfast had a nice variety but the milk was hot and the coffee was cold. The hot tub was broken but the pool was nice. Overall a good experience and would stay here again definitely.
Easy stop off of I74. Hotel staff very friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very limited, this is understandable due to Covid. The hotel is located between Cincinnati and Indianapolis. I would stay here again.
My husband stay at Best Western often. However, this hotel needs a makeover. Rooms were ok except for giant bug crawling on wall. At night we couldn't sleep as someone was smoking. The lady at front desk was very very rude. I wanted to pay cash, but she had already put the charge on my card and as of almost a week hasn't reversed.
Hotel is newly renovated! Decor is beautiful! Offered reasonable COVID breakfast for “To Go” options. Pool and hot tub were worth the stay. Made it just under the cut off for being a pet friendly hotel (will no longer accept pets as of 1/25/21). Stayed in double queen room with 2 adults, 1 child and a dog. Furniture takes up a lot of the room so was quite cramped. Would not advise large families to stay unless getting more than one room. Our room had no space for a cot. Was very quiet, clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. Near lots of local restaurants, stores and fuel spots. Cute town!
The hotel was fine and the staff was very helpful. Its under going renovations so I am sure it will only get better. The room was clean and fairly comfortable.Breakfast was the standard free kind however it was pretty crowded with a boys hi school basketball team piling their stuff all over the place.
the hotel is old. The hotel is musty. The hotel needs a complete shut down renovation to upgrade everything about it. The beds are uncomfortable. The chairs and sofas are hard and uncomfortable. The hotel is boring, dull, the colors of paint etc or lighting is dull. No bar, no restaurant, . The so called lobby is boring, There is no reason to stay here unless absolutely necessary. The area it is in is boring. Nothing exciting in walking distance. The only nice restaurant is IZZYS
We where traveling back from Wisconsin. While in Indiana we hit terrible rain and my windshield wipers stop working! It was cold and rainy Not really knowing exactly what part of Indiana we were in made it harder to choose where to stay. I am glad we found SureStay. Lisa was so pleasant and helpful. The room was nice and clean and he beds were comfortable. Thank you again for a pleasant stay!
This was a very nice hotel. It was undergoing some reconstruction when w were there. Hotel had a great staff! Front desk ladies were fantastic as was the woman that took care of the breakfast are/food. Very nice heated pool and good hot breakfast! Lots of choices for food nearby.
I had a fantastic time at the Best Western. The breakfast could have been better, but it's fair considering it was included for the price of the hotel. The hotel is a great choice for what you pay. I recommend it.
I liked this hotel. They were doing outside construction but it didn't bother us at all. Rooms were clean, smelled clean, looked clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The dog was comfortable and peaceful. Great sleep,. Bedding very clean. They are updating the hotel, which to me didn't feel outdated at all, so they are obviously concerned about how the customer feels there.
Came for 2 nights last weekend. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Accomodations were clean- would def return. Joined the club so we already got our 1 free night!! The ride to Ole Miss was a straight run and wasn't more than 30 minutes.
This property is under construction so you may have issues. We stayed here because we were in for a wedding and this was the place the couple had chosen. If we were going to be staying longer than two nights I would have checked other places to stay.
The bed was comfy. The room was nice and dark and the hotel itself was quiet. We had a wedding in town and this place was great for us. We had the breakfast in the morning, which was fine. It's hard to complain about free. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Rita was fantastic!!! Traveling from South Carolina to Michigan, we stayed at this lovely hotel on our way north. Clean and comfortable, with very nice breakfast buffet, we decided to stay at the SureStay hotel again on our way back south. This time the hotel was full, and the parking lot was full too! When we asked where else we could park, Rita moved her own car so we could park closer to the entrance! That's above and beyond great customer service! Rita also gave us a great restaurant recommendation when we checked in. Great service, great hotel!
Met all my expectations, super clean, and comfortable room. Very good and friendly staff. Really good breakfast, oatmeal was warm, eggs and sausage delicious. The pool was cleaned and my son loved it. I'll recommend it.
