Friendly and professional staff. Good-quality products, very clean and comfortable room. No hassles. Breakfast is pretty good. Quiet atmosphere, yet located on a main thoroughfare. A really convenient location. A good value. I return often.
The only thing going for this Hotel is location. It's situated right "on the Blvd" so close to the center of the West Valley. However, it's also very noisy as the Blvd is heavily traveled and traffic is constant day/night. This is an open-air hotel without security so with its location right on the Blvd, there are several opportunities for unwanted folks to loiter around and wander onto the property. The Hotel needs to replace the sheets with entirely new sets; the sheets they use today are pilly and rough. The Hotel needs to inspect/verify that all equipment is the room is operational -- because in June 2024, it was not and it took the hotel over 36 hours to fix. Also, the CHEMICAL SMELL inside the room is overwhelming causing the occupant to constantly run the NOISY A/C or consider opening the window (upstairs only!). And finally, there are NO elevators at all, so be ready to schlep your own luggage up 2 flights of stairs.
Very poor cleaning of room. Look at the photos. There were sticky spots on the bathroom floor and human hair. Sight of pubic hair made me gag. I had to go and buy cleaning products and used a whole can of Lysol everywhere. Housekeeping failure.
Loved the location! Hotel was clean and quiet and within convenient walking distance of a variety of restaurants, from burgers to foodie places. Will definitely plan to stop here again.
I had two rooms reserved for the evening of May 19, 2024. I did not realize that I could call ahead for early check in.. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and was able to secure two clean rooms that were available so the family members and I could relax and freshen up before the wedding. Clean rooms and comfortable beds.
I really enjoyed my stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And the room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. This means a lot to me. It makes such a difference in a place to stay It was great
Never thought in my life to be a witness to a violent armed robbery with so many cops and blood at one of your locations. It was horrible! Till now have a hard time! My girlfriend is still shaking! She couldn't fall asleep the past 2 day. And now we are staying at your Santa Barbara location. What a difference.
Very niclely refreshed propery in great location with more inimate feel than the rest. Breakfast and amenities better than most others in this price point. Definitely recooment without hesitation. I wrote a lot more in hotel website review, look there
We travel to Woodland Hills a few times a year and hadn't stayed at this Best Western Hotel yet. Our office recently moved and it's within 3 minutes to the office and we were very pleased with our stay here. Very nice room on the second floor with a lovely garden outdoor patio, the bed was very nice, all amenities were working, and very nice breakfast options (great coffee and juices too) to get you moving in the morning. We were very happy with our stay here and will definitely stay here again when we come to town.
I choose this motel because I need a decent place to stay with my family close to my sister's house. Unfortunately, it was not a good choice. The outside facade is actually nice but that is about the only good thing I can say. The room was another story. The floor planks were not connected in many places in the room some spots hade large gaps between planks where you could see the blue pad underneath. You would have better water pressure if you used a hose. The pillows were so cheap and lumpy it made it hard to sleep. The breakfast had very little in the way of offerings and very little seating. At least the breakfast staff were nice and kept the area clean. Parking was tight and the hot tub is only open from 5-9pm, but would not complain about that if that were the only issues. The prices was a total rip off for what you get.
First of all, the guy at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. The room was clean and looked exactly as advertised, which you know is not always the case. We opted out of room service so I can't tell you much about that out of personal preference. Now, the included breakfast was very nice. Everyday, they had a different main dish which was nice for my family. Ranged from French toast to an egg fratata. Also, the lounge is just pleasing to eat in, it's clean and very pretty. The other amenity that was utilized was the pool. The pool was very nice and clean. Lots of lounge chairs to share the space even though we got lucky and didn't share the space for very long. The hot tub was also very nice except it's very chlorinated. So if you're sensitive to chlorine, maybe opt out of the spa. Overall, great stay and we plan on staying her again in the future. :) my mom made sure to save the information of the hotel, that's how much we liked it lol
Hotel room and surroundings were clean and tidy. Staff was very nice-made us feel welcome. Breakfast was okay-the usual-nothing special. Easy walking access to grocery and restaurants. I recommend to others.
We stayed one night to attend an event in the area. Asked for and got a quiet room. Also asked for and got slightly early check in which was most helpful. Bed comfortable. Room very clean. All staff we interacted with very nice. Breakfast was OK, nothing fancy but just enough. It's a very basic hotel in a convenient location. Be aware: no elevator. Otherwise fine for the cost which was very reasonable for summer in the Valley. (I did reserve early and had one of the discounts like senior or one of the other affiliations...can't remember which one... I think regular prices was a bit more than we paid.)
This hotel exceeded our expectations. I'm not one to stay in hotels with outside access to rooms but we felt safe in this hotel. Rooms were extremely clean. Loved the flooring as opposed to carpet in the rooms. Very friendly staff. Breakfast area was newly renovated, quaint, and clean. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.
The Woodland Hills location was great. We spent a lot of time at the Getty Museum and it was just a few minutes away by freeway. We found the location to be perfect for most vacation locations in Los Angeles.
HIghly recommend this hotel Great location Friendly staff Very well equipped room Extremely clean Nice breakfast Easy parking Great fast internet Smoking section near our room Beautiful pool Good amenities all around
The room was fine, everything was clean and stocked. I asked the front desk for the quietest room available since I just wanted a quiet night and sleep in without people walking by and a lot of foot traffic. I got placed at the end room of a building which was great. The internet was slow and the tv had very limited selections on demand, that's a spectrum thing though. However at 8am we were woken up by the slamming of dumpsters right outside of our window, the sanitation truck was picking them up, all the lights and sounds and dumpsters, how pleasing. That passed after a few minutes and suddenly the landscape/ gardening crew. The mower and blower over and over , even with the windows shut, it sounded like they were outside the window. I thought had blowed were banned in Los Angeles? Anyway, we couldn't even get out for a few minutes as they were blowing all around our room and car. Maybe let's guests know what days things like this will happen
I had to stay here for five days while my sister was in a local hospital. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff was great and the management went out of their way to be very helpful, especially in the cost. The location is also very convenient to local restaurants and grocery stores. I would definitely stay here again.
This hotel is a great find. Location is ideal for visiting sights as you can pop on the 101 in either direction for Santa Barbara and beach cities and Pasadena, head down the 405 for Westside, etc. And you're close to the freeway for easy access. Lots of restaurants around and a huge Ralphs and a Coffee Bean right across the street. Very clean. Nice desk for working, comfy beds, good breakfast with even a couple hot items each day, very friendly and competent staff, jacuzzi, decent sized TV, ice on site, huge empty refrigerator you can fill with your own drinks, and very convenient parking right in front of the room. We had no trouble finding a spot even on weekend nights: very convenient. 24 hour front desk. City location and bustling right on Ventura but felt safe and not noisy. Very very happy we stayed here, and we will be back. My top tip: head south on Topanga for historic Blinkie's Donuts while you're here.
Hotel staff was unfriendly and unaccommodating. In my room the AC unit was making an unusual noise late at night to the point that I had to switch rooms. In the new room the smoke alarm was chirping loudly and hotel staff recommended that I unplug it myself. I declined to have an non-functional smoke detector in my room so staff came to change the battery. The chirping persisted and the staff was unwilling to provide me with reasonable solutions. Staff insisted I go back to sleep in the room with the chirping detector and refused to switch my room again. In order to deter me from insisting to switch rooms again, staff commented that it was pointless to switch rooms again because all of the rooms contained chirping smoke alarms, which was untrue. The chirping stopped after staff came back to fiddle with it again. It was very important that I got a good night's rest that night in preparation for an exam the next day. I did not sleep well because of the late hour. Instead the ordeal left me very stressed and frustrated. At no point in my stay did hotel staff express concern for my experience or ask how my stay was.
My kiss loved it the rooms were closed to the pool, the breakfast was delicious. From now on it will be our family hotel. Everything was great, the service food and price. We can't wait to reserve it again next year.
I love everything about this hotel. The staff are so nice and helpful, the rooms are great especially the bed and shower, it's quiet, love the black out curtains, and the few times I needed a plastic spoon they had them on hand, additionally the location is perfect for shopping and eating. I highly recommend staying here! ………..……………
No EV charging station, refusal to charge our electric car even for an hour with their regular electric outlets plentifully available (no functioning EV station around the hotel), no recycling sorting, no separate bathroom, over-chlorinated pool&spa, dark, cavernous rooms, leaky bathtub, door keys, which get deactivated three times a day, phone call urging us to move out 10min. past the 11AM check out time, high prices and really poor breakfast - that's not my definition of a 3-star hotel.
Hotel was clean, room was very nice, pool and hot tub area good. Met some nice people in the hot tub area. Breakfast was good, hotel had a great location for our visit to Malibu and Topanga. Free parking a bonus, shopping malls and restaurants nearby. Staff was very helpful.
We were very pleased with our stay here. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was quiet. The Staff was very kind and accommodating to our needs. We were able to leave our belongings at the desk while we attended a Memorial. Thank you so much!
I like staying here except the breakfast needs to be better. The staff is friendly and would recommend this hotel to anyone. I wish they would allow pets. But overall it is a great place to have a session with your significant other
The service and the people are great , whenever we visit our relatives in canoga we always stay in this hotel , family friendly , the location is great too walking distance to restaurants and the supermarket and drugstore! Free fast internet!
Wonderful location in the heart of Woodland Hills near the 101/405 with quick accessibility everywhere. Super hotel staff, clean rooms, check put the Patio Rooms for quiet coffee in the am and cocktails in the pm!
We walked in, the room smelled like smoke and like it had not been cleaned. The floor had stains all over. Our sheets and “comforter” aka thin sheet was dirty and full of stains. The bathtub was dirty with shampoo and conditioner remnants from not being cleaned between customers. The shampoo, conditioner and body was bottles were all empty or half full. So gross and unsanitary. I will never go back. Such a dirty hotel.
This Best Western is Quiet and Clean with a Friendly Staff that made Check In Fast, Easy, So Simple, They made sure i knew what all of the Amenities were and how to use them, and their pool and hot tub is open
Katie's customer service is spot on. We are going to be in town for a baseball tournament and we have had the hardest time finding a place that will accommodate some of our players. Katie adjusted our rooms, went over pricing, double checked everything and was happy to do so. She made this so much easier for us and we can't thank you enough. So well done and upper management should be grateful to have someone like her. Thanks again.
I had better expectations based on the reviews I read. I wouldn't go back. The employees were nice and kind, but that was it. This hotel is Not good for kids. Constant weed smell. When AC is, it circulates in and you can't escape it. No carpet in rooms, so it echos very loudly. Heard people above us just walking. One trash can in the room. Didn't feel the room was cleaned to covid standards. All the rooms are outside by the busy road. Way over priced for what you get. It seemed like a motel super 8.
Great location, easy parking. Every room has a mini frig, microwave snd coffee maker, which is convenient for travelers. Breakfast is provided in a large bag that includes a number of items for a good breakfast. The bed was comfortable, room super clean and quiet. The staff is incredible. Everyone who works there is so courteous and helpful. It was a pleasure to stay there. Great price, too.
Terrible customer service and kind of gross. I checked into my room around 7 PM. As soon as I finished unpacking I went into the bathroom and noticed the toiler was not clean. I flushed and discovered the toilet is clogged. Upon calling the front desk and letting them know the toilet was not functioning properly I was informed I could come and get a plunger and take care of it myself. I flipped. They called their supervisor who instructed that I could check out for a full refund or plunge the toiler myself. I checked out.
My company was paying for the room, so it was free for me. I still checked out after one half of a night. I'd rather sleep on the floor of an empty apartment than stay in this hotel for free. The room smelled like smoke. They tried to cover the smell with perfume. That doesn't work. Never has and never will.
Needed a place near Encino and wanted a Best Western. Website had a prepaid room which was very competitive. Arrived few hours early and desk clerk was able to accommodate me. Room met my expectations for ground floor, close to handicap parking, good desk chair (no arms), very good mattress (to my needs), and good pillows. Sprouts, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's within blocks of hotel. Good selection of places to eat. Easy to find. Quick access to 101. On major highway, Ventura Blvd. Only downside was towels and leaky handheld shower - but having a dual shower head was great.
Upon arrival, this is more of a motel then the advertised “hotel.” there was no pillows on the bed and you get a flimsy blanket to sleep with. I had no shower liner curtain and when I reported to the front desk I was ignored, never got one and the floor was always soaked. The noise level was terrible. Always hear cars and people in the parking lot.
I attended a mental health wellness retreat and this is my very first time visiting California. Staying here at the best Western made it pleasant enjoyable and safe. My room was clean, the staff was impeccable and they made me feel welcome.
After a long and draining day, Gabriel at the front desk was a bright ray of sunshine amidst clouds. We had just dealt with a bad experience at Anza Hotel; we were incredibly tired and just wanted a clean and safe place to sleep. Expectations were exceeded thanks to Gabriel. Even during all of this COVID stress, he greeted us with a huge smile and a warm demeanor making us feel so welcomed. He quickly and efficiently helped us find a beautiful room. The premise was spotless and parking was a breeze. We were very grateful to see such strong COVID precautions in place as well. Overall, it was a lovely experience. Thank you Best Western Woodland Hills and thank you Gabriel!
I needed a Woodland Hills location and this hotel was perfect. Because of COVID they did grab & go breakfasts, but were friendly and did a good job. There is a Ralphs across the street and microwaves in the room, so i was able to add additional food, easily. The room was very spacious and clean and the shower was wonderfully hot and steamy.
I read on TripAdvisor that Woodland Hills are a little too far from Hollywood, that it would be better to stay at Santa Monica. Well, in my case, it was a perfect location for Hollywood and Beverly Hills, for the beaches down south and for Ventura and other coastal towns in the east. L.A. is notorious for its traffic, so either follow traffic updates in real time or choose early morning or very late evening for driving to and from the attractions. Best Western provided full hot breakfast (only they ran out of oatmeal on one day – and I am talking about quick oatmeal pouches for the microwave – it seems that hardly anybody cooks regular oatmeal these days), there was a computer and a printer by the breakfast area. The room was big and rather clean. Wi-fi in the room was excellent. There is also a fridge in the room. The heater was too loud and a bit smelly, so I asked for an extra blanket. Got a new one, all bagged and VERY warm.
This hotel is in a perfect location. It is very clean, and the staff was friendly. The breakfast is perfect...fresh fruit is always a win. But there were plenty of options for everyone. We stayed in the inside portion. You have to walk up one set of stairs but it wasn't bad. The outside rooms looked fine so I would be okay staying in those the next time. The hotel is in close proximity to restaurants...Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang's, Roy's, Ruth's Chris, and a nice mall. It is also close enough to get to Malibu and the tourist locations.
We were very pleased with our recent stay. The room was quiet and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast was much better than we expected and included many healthy options. Would recommend and would return!
There are quite a few 3 star hotels on Ventura Blvd in the Woodland Hills area. This one is the best value. Located within walking distance from restaurants, bars and shopping. There are both inside and outside rooms. I suggest staying on the second floor to avoid the parking lot noise. Amenities like parking, Wifi, Cable, computer printer and Breakfast are free. The front desk staff are friendly.
I had never been to Woodland Hills, I was looking for a hotel near a friends house. This Hotel was clean, quiet, and it was a good price. It was close to a grocery store, some restaurants and easy to find. The free breakfast area was very clean and organized. They had lots of choices, a staff member on hand asking if I needed anything. If you don't like an "outside door" they do offer rooms within. I had an inside room with a hallway that took you outside. I did not see the pool or hot tub, but they do have one! It was a great place to stay. I will stay there again.
My two daughters and I stayed here while visiting family in the area. It was off the street and very quiet and restful. It was conveniently located for visiting family in Canoga Park and grandson at UCLA.
This hotel was located near where we were going so we chose it for its location. When we arrived we were welcomed by a kind young man at the desk who was very helpful with directions and explaining the breakfast and internet options. The lobby was immaculate as were the breakfast area and our room. The beds were comfortable and the heater worked (it was pretty chilly the night we stayed). I would definitely stay here again.
Clean room, friendly people, hotel location was close to area I needed to be,secure parking off the street,,the only bad thing I have to comment on is that there is no room service on site, you can have food delivery by another company not part of best western.
I've stayed at this hotel several times over the past year. While the rooms are a bit dated, they're clean and the hotel is well located if you're working in the Woodland Hills area. The five star review is as much for the staff as anything else - as I've always had a very pleasant experience. Recently, for instance, I showed up to check in and found that I had mistakenly booked my room for the wrong dates. Completely my fault. However, the woman working the front desk (Anais) was very patient and professional, and went out of her way to assist me in correcting my mistake. She kept a smile on her face the entire time, and made me feel like a welcomed guest. I'll definitely re-book here again (though will ensure I'm booking the right dates!!)
I've being using Best Western for about 6 years, and I high recommend this hotel, the one I like most was at Woodland Hills, great breakfast, so clean, good location, close to Sprouts and /whole Foods.
Stayed at the Best Western while on vacation and the hotel was just excellent for us. Our primary attraction was Universal Studios and the hotel is about a 20-25 min drive away. The pool is really nice and located in the back surrounded by trees and away from the parking lot and made it very peaceful and relaxing. The property has indoor and outdoor rooms meaning parts of it is set up like a hotel and the other is like a motel. The breakfast is in the lobby which is its own separate building. The hardwood floors were different but nice to know that it is a lot cleaner than carpet.
Rooms were clean, staff was very friendly and in a good location. We stayed 3 nights. There was 6 of us in 1 room and there was plenty of space. No complaints. DJ, the houseman kept up with the food for breakfast and it was very good. Naouica the Housekeeper was very friendly and kept our room with towels and changing of the sheets and Sarah at the Front Desk was accommodating and friendly. Very pleasant stay...
We really enjoyed our 2 night stay. Clean & comfortable. Staff was very courteous. Rooms just right, location is outstanding. Plenty of shops & restaurants within walking distance. The pool is hidden and not the best but very adequate. Only downfall is the continental breakfast. Better be early or you are just left out. Seems to me that they would have an approximate headcount or something similar. All in all, if we make it back to the northern side of LA, this is where we will stay
I have stayed at this hotel for years, even when it was the aku aku....lots of choices in the woodland hills area. Some have bigger rooms, more amenities, newer, and on an on, however this location is the best. A huge shopping center directly across street.,with a ralphs, sprouts, tons of restaurants. The parking is good, it does fill up late at night, however it is free..Nothing irks me more than hotels that tack on a facilities fee and charge for parking. This hotel does neither. A special shout out to Jose....a nice guy...
Last May 2019 I have to stay at Best Western in Woolland Hills for the the reason that they have to fix the condo where I'm staying. I stayed in the hotel for two weeks. The hotel was very clean. Friendly staff and very helpful. When you ask something like extra towels , they will give it to you right away with a smile. The front desk staff was very friendly and very easy to talk to. The breakfast menu was pretty good. Overall, Highly recommended.
Our overall stay was pretty comfortable. I wished the breakfast had more hot items like sausages, as I was told there would be. We had 5 people with us and got a suite, but we had to ask for more towels each day because they only gave us 4.
This hotel was totally renovated. Everything was so clean. We felt safe. The bed was comfortable, needed more pillows. We asked for extra and they gave them to us. A suggestion, they need trash cans outside so we can throw stuff away. It is right off of Ventura Boulevard.
We stayed two nights and my family of four was very impressed with the facility. Great location an very attentive service. I am returning next week due to our satisfaction. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
I am not a fan of a motel set up where my room has direct access to outside. This hotel had indoor rooms, too, but we were not offered the choice & didn't even know there was a choice until we were settled in the room. Was relatively clean, the pool area looked nice. There was quite a bit of noise of people talking in the parking lot, we could hear every word. The desk clerk in the morning was very nice & friendly. The one who checked us in was ok, not real personable, which is fine too. Do not use the soda machine, I used my credit card & it never gave me my water. So I wasted $5 for nothing in the machine, since I tried it twice (yes, dumb). Only one door to the lobby opened & we knocked over our suitcases every time getting in. This is not typical of me, I'm used to maneuvering a suitcase!
This Best Western exceeded my expectations. It's a great location and also very clean and safe. Parking was free and easy and the staff was extremely nice. The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast had everything I needed. I would stay here again.
Like many folks in the Bell canyon area, we were evacuated during the Woolsey Canyon fires. We had to scramble to find a room. The folks at the Best Western in Woodland Hills came through. We were so appreciative. The hotel is basically new. wonderfully furnished. The best deal in the West Valley by far!
We stayed in this Best Western some years ago and were excited about returning, We loved the pool and whirlpool. When we arrived on the 30th of March we discovered the pool and whirlpool were not in working order. We booked that hotel because of the pool as advertised . We also were offended when going into the breakfast area we were asked what our room number was as if we were not paying guests. I won't stay again and don't recommend it.
We did not have breakfast since we joined family elsewhere. My husband did go to get coffee and noticed they had only 2% and almond milk. The coffee was not as good as we remember. Trip Advisor needs to list Woodland Hills and Canoga Park as CA places! LA is too large to list every area under LA!
We had 3 nights at BW Woodland Hills and can happily and comfortably recommend this place. We stayed here to be close to our local family - location was brilliant, close to all amenities and right opposite retail strip shopping centre with supermarkets, coffee and eating spots. The rooms were clean, well looked after and equipped with all facilities required for a short stay. Staff were lovely and friendly; and daily included breakfast was fantastic for a neighbourhood motel - very good variety for such a small place, and a really pleasant dining area that was attended by staff members who were eager and willing to assist.
Great location, excellent free breakfast buffet, nice quite rooms, very comfortable bed, very nice pool and patio area. Their staff was very helpful when needed and the price was right. We will stay here from now on when visiting!
Hotel is well situated with good choice of food and a few food supermarkets close by. Very clean hotel, nice layout. Plenty of parking directly outside your room. Rooms were cleaned every day, even on national holiday. Easy to find the hotel, located just off the main road
This is a fairly new BW. It comes with all the things you expect from this chain. Good location. Easy parking. Clean. Good Wi-Fi. Comfortable bed. Pleasant staff. OK Shower.Good breakfast. We were happy there.
Drive thru the Best Western entrance to your free and ample parking. They'll check you in at their courteous front desk within minutes. While they do not have elevators, which I would have appreciated, the rear, upstairs, king rooms are worth lugging your suitcase up for the quiet and peaceful rest you'll get in their comfy beds. The internet is easy to access and speed is fast. The air conditioner and heater work well. The fridge is roomy and clean (no mini bar). Great TV and clean remote are LG. The patio on my room wasn't really worth the extra as it has a simple table and bare chairs with high walls and no view (no decor). The towels are a little skimpy and scratchy, but this is why you don't pay sky rocketing L.A. prices. I was surprised to find soap and lotion in the room! The breakfast leaves a bit to be desired. I just grabbed a cup of their average coffee and went out for breakfast. It was very clean and well appointed, though. I did not use maid or room service. All in all, a very good value and I would recommend this hotel for those of us not wanting to spend the king's ransom on a room! I'd stay again!
Nice simple California Hotel close to the Street which Can be a bit noisy. Freindly service. The Roms are clean and functional. Parking is available in front of the hotel. The breakfast is simple US way.
Centrally located along Ventura Blvd, this is a motel rather than hotel. However it has had a considerable refit (lobby being worked on when we visited) and we were very pleasantly surprised by the room quality/furnishings etc. Breakfast area was extremely clean and well stocked with excellent staff. Plenty of parking and well located for shops/restaurants etc. Small pool area but adequate nevertheless.
Quiet clean and newly renovated rooms with mini refrigerator and microwave. Rooms have crown molding and New surfaces. You are surrounded with new interior designs. A great place to stay . Close to many great eating establishments. Complimentary quick breakfast items . I always check TripAdvisor first . Thank you Best Western Woodland Hills .
The overall experience here was disappointing. Basically a motel set up and under renovation to boot. No real reception area lobby or bar to speak of. I was checked in by a guy in a booth at a desk who told me that the breakfast room was closed and a makeshift room was being set up in room 138! I then drove my hired SUV over to room 150 where there was dried vomit and rubbish outside the door - nice! Room was adequate but on ground level with homeless people outside the side gate . Needless to say not ideal for families with young children. Breakfast was a complete disaster with a room full of people with no seats and without basic provisions. Not good enough and they really should have given people a discount for the shoddy state of the Motel. This is not a hotel folks!
Room is very nice and spacious for what it looks like outside. Quiet all night, even on busy ventura blvd. Pool area is nice as well. Very fast check in . would stay again. Parking lot gets pretty packed late at night.
Before you compare this to other hotels you must remember this is a 3 Star. On that basis I give it a 4 Positives - decent size room - includes microwave and fridge - free car park - just opposite - supermarket / loads food places and coffee shops - so easy for drinks and food - clean Things to note - being refurbished so at times was a little noisy - pool area wasn't very clean / nice - found prices cheaper on booking web sites then direct. Overall a good base if you want to travel around LA. 20-40 mins to universal / Hollywood / Santa Monica / Malibu. If your driving and happy to travel this is a good base.
Room was adequate. The bed was one of the best we have slept in at a hotel.i wish they would finish the breakfast area. Trying to serve peopke - some with screaming squiriming kids in such a small space is crazy.
Close to Los Angeles to do what you want but far enough away to be out of the city. Very clean with great toiletries. A number of restaurants over the road. We went to Mod pizza it was terrific. Looks like there's some refurbishing going on which is ok.
The hotel is currently renovating the front desk/office area and the area where they used to serve breakfast, so they have breakfast set up in a guest room, and another guest room set up with tables for guests to eat in if they wish. This hotel is pretty standard, but has been updated recently. We have had to stay here twice when our home's air conditioning or heat was not working. They have updated the rooms since we stayed here last and they are nicer now. We also had a microwave and mini fridge. The pool and spa area could use a good hose down, but was pleasant. There are a lot of shops, restaurants, and a grocery store nearby.
I choose the hotel for location close to my activities within LA - and travel from and to the hotel is really easy from it's two entrances on crossing streets. The king room itself is clean, roomy for 1-2 persons and with noisy conditioner - latter seems to be norm in smaller hotels within LA. Big plus is spacious parking lot that never got filled during my stay. Unfortunately the eating area and lobby were being renovated, so first impressions were not the best and promised breakfast was selection of bread, cereal and yogurt with instant (but surprisingly drinkable) coffee. Aside from day's first coffee and bread I'd suggest checking on nearby coffee bars for the breakfast instead :) Very nice suprise was the simple, but pleasant backyard with big enough pool for quick dip to avoid overheating.
The neighboring bathrooms and plumbing was loud. The lighting in the room was too bright/dim. The flooring was cheap and the tiles were coming apart. The video on the television wouldn't work until i unplugged and plugged the HDMI cable back in. The room felt sparse and institutional. The breakfast was bad compared to other BW hotels that I've visited. That said, the staff was helpful, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
Stayed one night on a quick business trip. The room was very clean and there were no real issues with the room or the service. I would only add that the bed in my room could use a new mattress. Plenty of towels and soap. Check in was pretty quick. It was what I would expect from a Best Western.
THe hotel was in agreat location, the resturant for breakfast was being remolded which we didnt know until we got there they used a small room that was just fair. But there are hundreds of eating places up and down sepulada.
Room was nice and clean but the A/C didn't work and it was hot that night. Several places to eat within walking distance. Pool was clean. Decent price being close to Santa Monica. Breakfast was decent.
Horrible service Wasn't any hot breakfast The breakfast was served out of a room All the juice that was being served was hot They lied and said it had balcony rooms and it don't Rooms looked nothing like the site Been to numerous best westerns this was by far the worst one
I enjoyed my stay at BW Woodland Hills. I always prefer a hotel with interior doors rather than exterior guest room doors, so that was a negative, but the room was very clean, the bed was super comfortable, the internet was fast, and overall it was a good experience. This hotel was renovating their breakfast area, so the selection of food was limited, but that will probably change once they are finished.
We stayed at this Best Western for about 4 nights before we set off for Vegas. On Arrival staff were very polite and helpful and catered to our requests; i.e extra pillows and towels. Bear in mind it was about midnight by the time we checked in. Room was clean and comfortable. All rooms have A/C and rooms come equipped with a Fridge and Microwave for your convience. Rooms were cleaned everyday unless we had put the Do not Disturb sign in door. We took advantage of the swimming pool and Jacuzzi. The pool was clean and in sunlight for tanning. The jacuzzi was very warm and were i spent most of my time. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and will definitely be coming back as this was a comfortable safe and convenient place to stay.
I love this place. Rooms are extremely clean and comfortable, staff so extremely nice and helpful! One of my top picks when i am visiting la! I will most definitely continue to stay here when i am in the area
Our stay was just one night, on our way south to San Diego. We just needed a bed for the night, and the bed was fine. The room itself was just okay. We informed the desk clerk that we would be leaving very early the next morning. She said no problem, but didn't offer an express checkout. When we were ready to leave there was a sign to use the night window, but no one was there. We finally just left our keys in their night window drawer and left. I dislike the one cup coffee dispensers in general, and this one also had coffee that just tasted nasty. Better to not bother with providing coffee at all.
My sister, brother & I were here on a short visit for a funeral. This motel was a good choice! Very clean. We checked in late & asked the desk clerk about a suggestion for supper. He recommended Urban Plates across the street. Definitely check that out! It's a great place to eat. We liked it so much we went back the next day. Everyone we met here was great!
Nothing fancy but really just a nice clean, convenient, comfortable room at a decent price. Every thing you might need is within walking distance. Many restaurants, stores, pharmacy, bars ,etc. it has a breakfast included but I didn't have a chance to check it out. Service was from 6-9 only.
Due to traffic and a great dinner, we ended up in LA way later than planned so dropped in here around 11pm. We were checked right in and made welcome. It was a great experience, especially for an unplanned stay. They even checked my BW points and I had enough for a free stay that I didn't even know about.
Mature hotel with great location, professional, helpful staff. Rooms are small but very adequate, clean and well maintained. Nice continental breakfast. Numerous nearby restaurants within easy walking distance. Easy access to the 101.
Rooms weren't good to what was expected because of the location.. wouldn't stay here again. Sheets were very cheap like and room was dingy and muggy. Will not stay here again others BW I'm not sooo good area have better room quality.
This hotel was very nice. The customer service from start to finish was excellent. The hot tub was a nice treat. The hotel was so close to everything, it made it very easy to get around. I will definitely stay at this hotel on future trips to California. Thank you for doing such a great job!
Enjoyed staying here, very comfortable, enjoyed the breakfast.Staff was very good and helpful. Rooms were clean and tidy. Everything was just perfect. Hotel just opposite to shops and restaurants so enjoyed roaming as well
Great location, close to Ralphs, Rite Aid, Trader Joes, Whole Foods and tons of places to eat, all within walking distance, some literally across the street. SAFE, Clean, wonderful front desk staff!!! Easy access to the freeway and everything in the Valley! VERY QUIET!!! Couldn't hear the people on either side of us, unless they were outside in front of our window. Well lit parking! Good sized parking lot.
This is a Good choice If you visiting LA, Ventura, or Malibu beach! Room is clean, staffs are nice and helpful. Location is great, next to supermarket, restaurants, gas station, and stores. Near to freeway too.
Nice hotel, was clean and comfortable. The only issues was there is very little water pressure and the breakfast area is extremely small with not very many choices. Its a nice hotel and I would stay again. The staff is very friendly.
clean room, comfy bed. Had to go somewhere else for breakfast...not suitable for me. Coffee was ok but the rest are sugary, processed foods out of the box and pastries and bread were cold and did not taste fresh...could only eat boiled egg out of the fridge and some bread
Hubby and I travel with our grandkids to So. Cal for Thanksgiving to visit family. We've stayed at Best Western Woodland Hills for the past 2 years now, and we're very satisfied with the facility, the rooms, the breakfast (GREAT coffee) but especially the employees. From the front desk to room service to the perkiness of the breakfast crew, you couldn't ask for better representatives for a business. We'll be back Thanksgiving 2018, God willing!
Great stay! Staff at th desk were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and recently renovated. Used Best Western Rewards points for the room, so it is unknown how much the room is actually valued at. Parking is expected to be tight as it is a small property, but there was no issue finding a spot. Would recommend for a short stay.
My husband and I stayed here for a week long vacation to Cali. We had a great experience. Clean room, amazing customer service. Friendly faces who were always ready to help. We got the jacuzzi room and the jacuzzi area was very stylish and romantic. Breakfast was good and Davis and Annette were our favorites. It is more like a motel than a hotel but that was not an issue as it was very well maintained. Housekeeping was awesome. Pool area looked very clean although we did not get in the pool. Location was amazing for us. It was easy to get on the freeway to get to Hollywood, Santa Monica, Malibu, etc. Parking was never an issue for us as we always found a spot but if they run out of spaces they will pay for you to park at the lot next to the hotel. The area was safe. If we ever come back to the area we will stay again for sure.
The hotel has a characteristic 1960-1970 motif but it is very well maintained. When we arrived, they were polishing the granite floors in the reception area. Our room had a small patio next to the pool. Very quiet room and a nice hotel.
Newly remodeled, and very pleasant ambiance; first rate continental breakfast with many choices, kept serviced, nice room and is scheduled for expansion this year (2017); Well laid out attractive rooms, better than most toiletries; friendly, professional staff.
This is our second stay at this hotel, we travelled from Toronto Canada and won't stay anywhere else we were there last year and loved it even then. The room was so clean, the beds very comfortable and the cable channel selection was great. We stayed there last year and enjoyed it and this year it was great again. The breakfast selection was great lots to eat even for picky kids. Beverly, David and the other lovely lady that works on the breakfast shift are absolutelty lovely. We truly came back for Beverly. Everyone was so helpful and Jose at the front desk is so friendly. We will be back for sure very soon. Thanks for making our vacation memorable. Carrie Jones-Milton, Ontario
This hotel was ok nothing great. Area has changed and Ventura Blvd is not so safe anymore. The room was great. The breakfast left much to be desired. The cost was the most expensive of the whole trip and certainly overpriced. Would look elsewhere next time. Wanted to be close to the relatives but was rather disappointed. And, this was only one of two places where we stayed more than one night.
Nice to have a private patio at our room. Nice hot tub. Wish the pool was heated. First time we ever had a motel room with flooring instead of carpet. I hope this isn't the wave of the future. The floor was slippery in socks and made the bath mat very slippery. Worried the whole time I'd slip and break a hip. Would also be loud to have someone above you walking in shoes. Thankfully we were on the top floor. Nice breakfast and front desk staff. Wider parking spaces than most motels. Air condition was very loud. Glad that no pets were allowed and no smoking (however it was probably staff smoking behind the pool building that stunk up the hot tub area.)
I've used The Woodland Hills Best Western on and off over the years.I live close by, but, sometimes there is an emergency and it's always where I go. They've never let me down and the service is always consistent. I've never had a bad experience at Best Western!!!
Had to drive all night and arrived at 1:00 am in the morning to sleep. Staff was great and got us into our room quickly. Morning breakfast staff was one of the best I have experienced. Desk clerks were wonderful too.
We overnight in this hotel for one night, heading from Los Angeles to Santa Cruz. It is a right place to stay, with clean and spacious rooms, comfortable beds, on-site parking, and free wifi with good signal. Complimentary breakfast with several options to choose, more than enough. Good value for money.
Although we spent just one night, we were satisfied with most everything. Rooms were clean, nicely decorated and overall, adequate. Cigarette odor in one room was handled respectfully by desk employee, at check-out. We would return for sure.
Booked this hotel for two nights for its proximity between Magic Mountain and L.A. It is nothing fancy, but the rooms are clean, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast is adequate, and the pool area was a very nice surprise. Delicious Dickeys BBQ across the street, and Fatburger a few blocks away. The bed was very comfortable, but upgraded pillows and sheets would be nice.
Great value. Clean. Professional. Breakfast area very confined. No parking available after 10pm. Pool area was nice. Quiet. Staff was nice. Helpful. Renovation really should be considered because the breakfast area was really small too crowded for lots of people. We ate in our rooms;
My stay was awesome . Everyone was kind and helpful. Breakfast was great. The pool was perfect. Not too crowded. I was pleasantly surprised to see a hot tub! I especially enjoyed the cleanliness and look of the room. Our family enjoyed the cable service and the decent size TV. Overall I would recommend this hotel to all my family and friends.
The hotel is fine, with ok rooms which are clean and of good size. There is free parking, and wifi with good speed. The pool area is small, but fine also - and as for breakfast the room is quite small, but the selection is above average.
Great value, parking, breakfast, very clean. Very close to orange county landmarks. Staff was very friendly as well. The value proposition as with many Best Westerns is excellent. They even held a package of shoes that i bought without any problems.
Just stayed the night, used the iron, loved the shower, everything very clean! The microwave and refrigerator were very clean and Ralph's was walking distance which helped us get an affordable and healthy evening snack. The Breakfast had many healthy choices!
It was reLly nice, you had to have a room key to get to and not seen from outside the grounds! Really Bicw Sfaff! Me & My Sister stayed for a week, I flew in from MEM , she flew in from IAH. Very Nice Rooms and Safe.
We were in need of an overnight stay as we traveled around California and found this hotel close to were our family was staying. Check in was fast and they offered the extra 500 points or the welcome package. They were the only BW we stayed to offer both as a choice. The from desk did mention that parking becomes difficult after 10pm which he was correct. We came back around 11:30 and found a space that had some extra asphalt in it that we could still park in. This particular day the second floor had no air conditioning in the hallways and it was extremely hot in the hallways. Our room air was off and the room took more than an hour to cool down. The breakfast and fresh items including had boiled eggs with several hot coffee choices.
This location is great! Close by many restaurants, shopping and attractions. Very clean rooms and nice/professional staff! Check in and check out was speedy! AAA members are accomodated which is awesome! I would definitely recommend this location!
Hotel was in a nice part of town and easy to find. The staff were friendly and helpful . The rooms were clean and updated. We enjoyed our stay . We had two queens and the mattress seemed a bit hard compared to other BW hotel but ok. Parking was near rooms. Many restaurants within walking distance or a short drive.
This place was well kept and pool and spa amazingly clean the best I have see. Very relaxing place recommend 100% I would stay here more often if our travels takes us near this place again. The price is very good for the quality of room.
Loved this hotel and the staff. Very clean and staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast area is very small, but they did a great job of keeping it clean and available to those coming in. beds are the most comfortable ever. It is off a busy street, but that didn't seem to be a problem noise wise. Just wish the back gate was left open so we could have entered and exited with a signal.
the woodland hills best western is a terrific best western, the location is excellent, the rooms are uptodate and the bath rooms are beautiful and modern some of the rooms have an sitting room right off of the main room with a sink and tv. it has additional storage and a couch this is one of the best western we have ever stayed in
We stayed here for three nights on a trip to Universal Studios. The hotel is conveniently located off the highway and has a lot of amenities across the street. We got a suite. The rooms are quiet, nicely upgraded, and the staff was great. Breakfast adequate but the breakfast area is very small. Pool area nicely landscaped and well kept. Biggest issue was the pullout bed on the sofa was so so cheap and uncomfortable and the linens on all the beds were cheap and scratchy. Extra blankets provided looked like they were 10 years old. Thin and scratchy. Not sure if I would return. Everything was fine, except the sleeping comfort, and that's the most important thing.
I come to LA for work twice a month and struggle to find a good hotel in the Valley. Most of the time you are staying in an awful neighborhood, the hotel is old, and not soundproofed or you are staying at a very expensive hotel and they charge you for parking and for everything else under the sun. This hotel is lovely. It's not outdated at all. Very reasonably priced. Right off the freeway but there is no noise. I love how the parking lot is semi enclosed so it's not like your car is in the middle of the street all night. The rooms are clean. It has breakfast included. You are one block from a Whole Foods and lots of other places to eat. 100% will be returning.
Very pleasant place to stay and convenient to where I was spending time with family. The room was quiet, even though it was on a main street, across from a shopping center where you could get anything needed. The staff was very accommodating. Plan to stay there again.
The hotel staff was friendly and attentive. The room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed with our two young grandchildren and the staff was very understanding. The outdoor pool and hot tub were clean and the area was very lovely. The breakfast had typical continental fare, the coffee was hot and good, but the dining area was very small, so you may want to take breakfast back to your room. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from a grocery store, so the refrigerator and microwave in the room came in handy. We definitely would stay there again!
very good... take it as it is or else I will need to negate this entire thing. 200 200 okay I will just add some blog to complete this very silly part of this survey!!! Hmm. this is becoming very tedious. whoever thought of thi minimum thing quite obviously has too much time on their hands!!
Good Place to Stay, Staff is always caring and helpful. Breakfast displayed well though minimal. A great location to some shopping. Nearby many low and high end restaurants, Supermarkets and Laundry available.
Front building more noisy than expected...took a while to get used to the street noise. I'd expect the back side to be better. Bed comfortable, but towels quite small....think discount hotel size. Advertised pool, spa, and sauna...., no sauna. Pool too cold for me, spa nice
Staff is always caring and helpful. Breakfast displayed well though minimal. A great location to some shopping. Many low and high end restaurants. Convenient to gas stations. Prices average for the area.
It was usually chilly in the am and pm so I thought we could have had either a thicker blanket or just an extra one . The place was always kept clean everywhere. Helpful staff since we had to change some of our plans.
It was relaxing, got the jacuzzi suite. The staff was accomadating. It was quiet and the hot tub was very relaxing. I think the rooms are a little pricey. I think more towels, shampoo and conditioner and soap should be in the room. I have not tried the breakfast yet, since I can't wake up early in time for the breakfast. Maybe extending the breakfast time might be more helpful. For the ones that like to sleep in.
I was hesitant to book at this location because property is located on Ventura Blvd--a very busy place day and night. I was pleasantly surprised that we heard absolutely no street noise when inside our room. The room is much more reasonably priced than other hotels in an area that can be very pricey. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good, however the eating area is extremely limited. Pet peeve--they didn't have butter, only margarine--yuck! We would absolutely return!
Our family stayed three nights in two rooms. The rooms were clean and well maintained. It took a few minutes to find the pool and hot tub since you need to go up a flight of stairs to reach it on the hillside behind the Inn. Parking is sometimes limited in the evening, but extra spaces are available in the lot to the west. Our room had all the amenities we needed, especially wi-fi and a frig. The TV has a large selection of channels. The kids enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was good, but the breakfast room was cramped and could have been designed to use the available space better. The staff was friendly.
Tamed for five days whilst at a conference nearby. Rooms were clean and quiet, with a comfy bed. More like a motel than a hotel. Breakfast was uninspiring, but perfectly acceptable if you just need a base to stay. Reception staff were very helpful.
Had an overnight stay here on the way to la from Santa Barbara lovely clean hotel friendly staff free continental breakfast only downside as most hotels was the pillows are to big lots of shops and restaurants nearby
I stayed at the Best Western Inn Woodland Hills from Oct 8-15 2016, the hotel is so lovely, the design of it makes it look old Spanish it has that charm to it. The Rooms are great, we stayed in 119 and it was very spacious for 2 of us. We had a fridge and a microwave and the beds are so comfy. Everything that was advertised was included. The breakfast had a great selection of food and the staff working the kitchen were so helpful and lovely. Beverly was always on her feet ready to help when needed. The Front desk staff could be a little friendlier. The wifi was great never had an issue and the pool and hot tub (spa as they call it) was fantastic and totally relaxing. The location of the hotel was great...it's right on Ventura Blvd. close to everything, shops, grocery stores, restaurants and even the Transit was easy to get to. The only issue I had and am still having is that I left my very expensive tooth brush charger in the room and didn't notice until the next day. I called the hotel right away and spoke to Roger who was checking on the lost and found list and was to call me back. Well 2 days came and went and no call back...I called again on Tuesday and spoke to Joe and was to have Jose call me when he arrived back at the office the next day and no phone call. I finally called again on Friday the 21st of Oct after being home a week and the issue they were having was if the US Postal Service delivered to Canada Toronto to be exact. I offered to pay for FedEx and Joe said that it was a liability to go to the FedEx store in case he got into an accident. Well then how do you send recovered items back their owners in Canada. As of right now at 4:16pm Eastern Standard Time I'm still waiting for Jose to return my call. I asked for his supervisor and was directed to the Owner's voice mail not even a name the young lady at the front desk could offer me. I just warn you!!...don't forget or leave any personal items in your room or at the hotel if you don't want them back and especially if you live in Canada.
My family really enjoyed this place. It was quiet and reasonable. Breakfast in the morning was basic but good and the staff was very nice too. Never know what you may get with a best western but this one was great.
Hubby and I went to a concert and didn't want to drive the 2+ hours home, so we were pleased to find a Best Western nearby. Good location - convenient for groceries, restaurants and liquor store, all within walking distance. Even though it is on the main drag, the room was quiet - didn't hear street noise. Very nice room, though had a smell to it; can't figure out what. Also very pleased to know that although I booked through Expedia, they gave me point on my Best Western rewards card too. Not all do, so this was a nice surprise. If you park after 10:30pm-ish, the lot tends to fill up, so you have to go to the front desk and they tell you to park in the city lot across the street and they pay the fee. Easy!
This hotel is on a busy road. A really really busy road. As soon as you step out of your room, the sound of cars is everywhere. However, the room itself was pretty much quite. But, I would rather stay in a hotel with a less crowded environment. The front staff was nice at check-inn and check-out and the sleep quality was fine. So, as long as you don't mind the busy roads surrounding it, you're fine.
The room was clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. Free continental breakfast and wi-fi. There is no elevator, so you must climb a flight of stairs to some rooms and the air conditioner is noisy. Staff was super friendly. Parking was free. The hotel backs up to private residents, so don't leave curtains open.
We have stayed here three times. Great value for money, great staff, clean, quiet accommodations, all local amenities, and an easy drive to downtown LA, Hollywood, Malibu, etc.You will not be disappointed.
I spent last Saturday night at this hotel while in town for a family event. I was in room #200, a corner room with two large windows facing Ventura Blvd. and the entrance into the hotel parking lot. I expected the traffic noise to keep me awake, but I didn't hear a thing. The room was quite large with a king sized bed, loveseat, a refrigerator and a microwave. The bathroom was nice sized and the weather pressure was excellent. I didn't have breakfast, so I can't offer an opinion on that. I noticed there were many places to eat nearby. I was excited to see a Western Bagel across the street. I bought some to take home with me.
I chose this to be near an early morning business meeting. It cost a little less than the hotels near the Warner Center and mall. The front desk people were friendly and honored my request for a first-floor room. There are no interior halls and no elevator, and I didn't want to lug my suitcase up a flight of outdoor steps. The room was quiet, clean, and standardly pleasant. Delighted to have a semi-wood floor rather than carpeting. Also nice to have HBO and on-demand HBO. Air-conditioning was blessedly cool during a very hot spell, though a bit noisy. Wi-fi worked flawlessly. There is very easy access to the 101 via Topanga Canyon Blvd. Breakfast room is on the small side but the waffles, tea, and other offerings do the job. Location is very convenient as you can walk to several reasonably priced restaurants including sushi, American pub food, Persian, a steakhouse and others. After eating at the oddball Mazar Mediterranean, which is on the same side of Ventura Blvd, I discovered a Thai place in the strip mall opposite. It's called something like Anthara and is hidden away in the back at the far end, as far away as you can get from the Rite-Aid. It looked nice and I'd eat there next time. Anyhow, Best Western was fine. I guess they get away with relatively high prices because (a) L.A. area ain't cheap and (b) there seemed to be a lot of business travelers when I was there on a Monday-Weds.
Henry and his staff took very good care of us. We needed to check in early and they made it happen with little notice. The room was completely renovated and very clean and it was very conveniently located. We would stay there again.
Certainly is an older place, but the rooms are very clean, price is okay, and everything is convenient. The breakfast area is small, but the attentive staff helps enjoy the meal, and everyone including guests are friendly. Beds are excellent, wifi is good. If you want a bigger breakfast , there are good restaurants across the street or down the block. . Staff is friendly. If you want large lobbies and luxurious looking big Vegas rooms., this is not the place. It is an excellent place if want a good place to stay, business or pleasure.for single, couples, or family.
This is an average Best Western hotel. The room was clean, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. We chose this location because it was near a lot of different restaurants and stores and had easy freeway access. The only thing bringing my rating down is the complimentary breakfast which is rudimentary at best. Would be nice to have some protein and better variety of fruit.
I was looking for a hotel close to the hi-tech zone in nearby Calabasas. The advantages of the Best Western were: 1. Good breakfast, pancakes is big plus 2. Close to freeway 3. Price better than in comparative hotel in Calabasas, so I stayed within my travel budget 4. Across the street from a supermarket and a number of restorants 5. Rooms equipped with microwave and refrigirator. 6. Good wi-fi coverage 7. Parking can be problematic in late night, but hotel will pay for the city parking nearby. 8. Attitude of the stuff is very positive and friendly One small negative: The laundry is not free of charge for the guests and operates on cash only. It was also not simple to get charge on my room, so I quit trying to do laundry in the hotel.
With my family I arrived at 9:32am, 2' later than that closing, (considering that all over the USA hotels closed at 10:00-10:30) and we welcome with, "you can eat only what remain". We asked some fruit but he already take out everything. A part some bread and marmalade. He said "only what you can see on the table". Very Bad!!!
Quite Happy I was, Quite Happy. I had a very late check in and the staff was quite pleasant, even in the wee hours. There was exactly one parking place left and that suited me fine. Off to sleep and awaken late, I hoped. Well Upon arising I check out the room in detail and found it was very well appointed. Including, a nice computer chair, excellent flooring, beautiful crown moldings, clean, clean clean, way too many channels to make any choices, plugs up the wall and net up the wall too! and the best - a very comfy bed. Thanks!
I chose this hotel mainly because its location and price. Being close to the Malibu area, it's a great hotel for the price. The room was modern and clean, though there were minor (cigarette?) holes in the blanket. The free breakfast wasn't good, though - very limited choices. But there's chain coffee shops right across the street from the hotel. Recommend this hotel if you are going to west LA.
To call this an Inn is deceptive. This is a 2 story facility, no elevator. So if you can't do stairs don't stay here. The saying "if you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig" fits this establishment. Cheap fake wood floors in the rooms, bedding and blankets felt like they were 20 years old. After staying in La Mesa and here it didn't even seem like the hotels were owned by the same company. Door had a gap at the bottom so smells and noises drifted in. Could only charge phones in lamp plug in when the light were on and only one worked. Cleaning services were pretty non existent-all they did was make the bed. Did not get clean bedding. I left the iron out to cool and it wasn't put away. This wasn't the cheapest room in the area. Will not stay here again.
We stayed here after researching numerous areas in LA. The hotel was perfect for our day trips to Hollywood, Malibu, Santa Monica and downtown. Staff were nice and the room and bathroom were very clean! The area has a lot to offer for eating options, as well as easy access to highways and Topanga Canyon (to get to the coast). All we could ask for.
My daughter and I stayed here our last night of a 11 night vacation to California. The hotel was nice, we didn't get to the pool. The breakfast was good. We checked in early and left our things in the room, it was nice and looked clean. We went for a hike and came back late at night with a pizza and found ants crawling on the counter by the sink. The wood floor is nice, but very dirty, my feet got filthy when walking around after my shower. The hotel is in a nice area. Exotic car dealership just down the street. The staff is friendly and helpful.
This hotel worked well for our family. It was more reasonably priced than being in the city. We were upgraded to a suite which worked well. The beds and pillows were too soft for our liking. The breakfast was quick and easy. The staff were all pleasant and responsive. We had no issues with noise from neighbors.
very bad sound control between rooms, condition of all amenities are old, staff was friendly, felt grimy, was not very happy with this stay, I was glad to leave, got no sleep, was hoping to relax before I went home
We were visiting family in Los Angeles and I could not remember which hotel I had stayed on my previous visit. I had stayed at a few Best Westerns in other areas so i called Best Western to see if the hotel in Woodland Hills was the one we stayed at. The central reservation person assured me it was and booked me with a non refundable rate. When we arrived at the hotel, it was not the one we stayed at on a prior visit. I was extremely disappointed as the other hotel was just down the street a few blocks and another brand. Did not try to move as it was late at night when we arrived. I will tell you the front desk clerk was very nice and welcoming. The Best Western Woodland Hills is more of a motel with room doors opening to the parking lot. The location was good, across the street from a busy shopping center (Grocery and plenty of retail type eateries - think bagels, coffee, and hamburgers). The room was extremely hot when we arrived and probably took three to five hours to cool down with the AC unit they had in the room. We did have to switch our first room as it was not cleaned. This hotel was good for a quick one night trip. We stayed two nights so would have preferred the other hotel we stayed at previously.
well kept and close to malibu. Good value for $$$$ spent! Woodland Hills has lots of interesting food spots to eat. 15 minute drive thru the canyon to the Pacific Coast hiway. also close to 3 great winerys in the malibu area.
If you are looking for a quiet motel in the valley, it's almost impossible to find. But Best Western Woodland Hills, located on Ventura Boulevard, does not back up to the Ventura Freeway as almost all other motels in this area do. Instead, on the opposite side of the street from the freeway, it backs up to a residential area. Hence, it is quiet! And the service is great, the staff friendly and the rooms just fine. Food and coffee are available at the Warner Center across the street--and they also offer breakfast. If you want quiet, this is the place to stay.
I arrived at the hotel after 10:30 pm. I had reserved a King bed room. Well, they didn't have any left, so the guy put me in a Suite. Sweet!!! My overall experience was great. I would stay there again.
This hotel has some good things as well as bad things about it. The rates that this hotel charges are steep for a best western. My hotel room was very clean and modern, had a working air conditioner and a private patio with chairs and pool view. When I first checked into the hotel I arrived in an uber and needed help carrying my 3 bags of luggage into the room. The staff person who checked me in refused to help me with my luggage even though my room was up a tall flight of stairs. This hotel has no elevators at all. In the shower inside the bathroom I almost slipped and fell because the shower mats were decentagrating. The manager didn't care about the decentagrating shower mats. This is a safety issue. When I ran out of soap and shampoo and asked the hotel desk clerk for more he said to walk across the street to ride aid or ralphs and buy my own. This is no way to treat a customer paying almost $200 a night for a room. The location of this hotel can't be beat. You have whole foods, ralphs and sprouts all within walking distance as well as the new westfield topanga village. This morning I called the front desk at 10 am asking for a check out later than the 11am checkout time. The front desk person said abolsolitley not. It gets even worse at 10.59am an employee knocks on my hotel room door and tells me kicks me out of the hotel room even though I had to use the restroom. The front desk employee refused to let me use the lobby restroom. I wanted the front desk person to store my luggage while I went to lunch and waited for my uber to take to the airport. The front desk person gave me an attitude about holding my luggage. This hotel has tons of prostitutes in the hotel parking lot. That's gross for a hotel that almost charges $200 a night. To make a long story short this hotel needs to remove the prostitutes and brush up on customer service skills.
This was a expeditious and okay stay for two nights we went to a memorial and we weren't expecting luxury. For the price and convenience this was good. It feels like what I imagine would be a rehab or some kind of medical facility would be like. Although it had a pool and a perfect tennis court (not a crack, like new!) in spite of having a view all the way down to the ocean from the terrace restaurant this is by no means a sumptuous and luxurious place. It's very straightforward and almost depressing. It was clean. the food was 'okay' it was furnished and we got an upgrade but still i didn't want to be there for too long.
It was a typical Best Western. Clean and quiet. The man who checked me in was very helpful and polite. There are no elevators and breakfast ends at 9:30am--too early! The air conditioning barely worked, but luckily it was cool outside. If it's hot outside, this might be an uncomfortable stay.
This is a clean and competent hotel on the famous Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles. There is nothing outstanding to report. The rooms have a traditional layout and are spacious and clean. I was particularly impressed with the waffle machine which is located in the small breakfast area off the main reception - very nice. I have paid $170 for this room; it was the going rate for a corporate hotel in this neighbourhood.
We had a great stay in the suite room! Lots of room and kids loved their own area with couch and TV. Very clean and modern. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was awesome - a huge hit with the family. Great location with groceries etc across the road - very convenient. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
This hotel is by far the best hotel if you're here for Universal Studios or vacation. It's located next to everything from the mall, movie theaters, grocery store, and restaurants either in walking distance or by car. The staff is always pleasant and helpful and the morning breakfast is fresh and tasty. The rooms are super clean, and the bed is very comfortable.
My stay was brief on a business tour. The check-in was fast and easy, and the staff was friendly and courteous. The room was clean and fairly up to date. There was a small refrigerator, coffee maker, and wifi. Breakfast was available that included bagels, dry cereal, pastries, juice, and coffee.
We were visiting relatives in the Woodland Hills area of LA and stayed for four days at the Best Western Woodland Hills Inn. It was well located and although it is on a busy road it was not noisy in the hotel. We had no trouble parking but I understand it can get busy at certain times although they did offer further parking in a lot over the road. The Warner Shopping Plaza is opposite and there are many restaurants nearby. The rooms are small and simple but adequate. The breakfast area is very small but you can get a coffee and pastry and take it to your room. I think for the price it represented good value for the area.
The pictures of the hotel looked great. However there was no mention that they had no elevator. We had to carry a lot of bags upstairs. As I was checking in another person was complaining that housekeeping missed making up there room. On the second day housekeeping missed our room too. When we checked in the room only had only one bath towel. Had to go all the way back to the office in the rain to ask for more towels. For the cost to stay there I would stay at a Marriott next time.
We were visiting our son during spring break time. The Best Western Woodland Hills Inn was conveniently located and priced twenty-five percent lower than similar-class hotels in the area. We used the hot tub which are getting harder to find at similar hotels. The location is surrounded by great restaurants as well as a variety of shopping destinations.
This was a great place to stay. Reasonable and super staff. Very clean and had everything we needed, including continental breakfast in the morning. Lots of things to do in the area too!! Sorry that our stay was so short, beautiful pool and spa as well. We even had a little patio on the back so we could be outside if we wanted to but remain private.
The staff at breakfast were very friendly and very helpful. Space was sometimes a problem and high seats are a challenge. We really appreciated having dispensers for the plastic ware as this is much healthier than having people reach in a container. Skim milk would be appreciated. Yogurt selection was good. Parking was convenient. We had no problem adding an extra night during our stay.
This is an American style motel, hugely over-priced for what it offers. Inside the room, it is dark and dated interiors. The room has an open cloth hanger (no wardrobe) adjacent to a basin unit. Window air conditioning is noisy and it comes on and off. Beds are uncomfortable. We had the ground floor room which overlooks the car park so the curtains were always drown. There was no minibar nor complimentary water bottle. We could only stay for one night and moved to the Marriott 5 minutes away which was cheaper and it is a hotel!. The photos of the hotel on their web are excellent but do not tell the whole story.
This really feels more like a motel to me. While the rooms are inside, there is no elevator, just a few staircases and the doors aren't locked and there is no real inside. While the rooms are fine the breakfast left something to be desired. They should put more money into having more availability instead of paying someone to stand there. It is a very small eating area and the person standing there to keep the food stocked feels more creepy than helpful.
Was a very motel with many amenities near by. We ate at the Something Fishy Japanese Grill. Little pricey but what a treat right next door. I do wish the hot tub would have been working but I took a dip in the pool anyway.
The motel seems a bit overprized mainly due to the problems with the air quality they had in the north end of the valley and a lot of home owners had to relocate and therefor there was a shortage of rooms available all around that area. All the hotel/motels in that area had upped their prizes. It was so worth it going to Thousand Oaks location 15 min away. Also my room was cold and there were no extra blankets. And I did turn off the a/c.
I was absolutely satisfied with my stay at the Best Western Woodland Hills Inn. While driving from San Francisco I needed a last-minute hotel reservation in order to catch a morning LAX flight to Hawaii. Unfortunately I'd chosen a very busy night with almost no hotel availability in the LA area. While stopped halfway down I-5 I discovered this hotel in a Best Western directory, called the hotel, and spoke with Henry, a manager. From that point on my trip went smoothly. Henry reserved my room, reviewed excellent driving directions, and gave me great peace of mind for the remainder of my long trip down I-5. The room was perfect for my wife and me -- quiet and roomy; parking was easy; an early morning departure enabled us to reach LAX in 30 minutes. If we'd had time we'd have taken advantage of the morning breakfast beside the lobby. Best of all, Henry greeted us warmly upon arrival and had already printed directions to LAX for us. He answered all our questions and quickly showed me the lobby computer so I could print our boarding passes. What a pleasant surprise to find this hotel -- I'll definitely stay here again during LA trips. I hope Henry's working the front desk again when I arrive!
This property is on a very busy street but the rooms are back far enough that it is surprisingly quiet. Having stayed at the disappointing Best Western dragon gate the night before I was not expecting much. But this hotel is nice, although the rooms are small. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. I would probably stay here again as it is an easy 30 minute drive to Malibu with traffic.
The Woodland Hills Best Western is a terrific location for the Warner Center area, Woodland Hills and Tarzana. Because Ventura is an emergency vehicle route, it can be a little noisy. Request a room at the back There is no elevator, so moving luggage can be difficult. The staff is helpful and responsive. A service request was made at the desk, and maintenance staff was in the room by the time I made it back. Breakfast is conventional motel fare, but adequate.
This location is centrally located next to everything from grocery stores, restaurants, malls and the movies. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the breakfast each morning is plentiful and good. The staff is always nice every time I go and I usually stay 4 nights. You will not be bored at this location and they have a nice pool too!
The room was clean, the beds comfortable, the price reasonable. The breakfast room was very crowded - there simply are not enough tables in the winter. I suspect in the summer (with outside seating) this problem is obviated.
We stayed here, on and off, for a few months as our home was being renovated. What a wonderful choice. It's not the Ritz but it suited our needs perfectly. The staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Check-in was a breeze. Thanks Jose and Joseph. The room is large and includes a microwave oven and refrigerator. The pillows aren't feather, but are comfortable enough. There is free Wifi in the room and a computer in the lobby for your convenience. Our room was located towards the back of the hotel on the first floor and it was very quiet. You don't hear the people or televisions in the rooms on either side of you and you don't hear any main street traffic. Parking is free and you can park right in front of your room. There is a nice swimming pool at the back of the hotel. An extended Continental breakfast is included which consists of hard-boiled eggs, yogurts, juices, bagels and bread, cream cheese, peanut butter and even Nutella, pastries and muffins and make-your-own waffles. Coffee is available in the lobby all day. There are a number of restaurants near-by and the new Village at Westfield Topanga is 5 minutes away. The hotel is close to the freeway, which makes it very convenient to get anywhere. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
This was a very nice property. Staff were friendly. Our room was clean and updated. The bed was comfortable; the room spacious. We were on the second floor on both visits. In fact we requested to be in the same room upon our return from San Diego. Rooms opened to a hallway. I don't recall an elevator so request ground floor if necessary. Internet worked well and there was a large number of cable choices. The pool area with hot tub was very nice and secluded located behind the rooms on the second floor. It wasn't extremely large but it was refreshing. Breakfast was very good with quite a few offerings including large muffins, yogurt, waffles, cereal, juice, etc. The breakfast area is EXTREMELY tight (it's CA so property is at a premium) so don't wait until it gets busy. Staff kept everything well stocked. There were a few tables outside which we used each day because we wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather. It gets pretty warm in the sun so go early. Property is on a busy street, but we weren't bothered at all by noise. The property is located directly across from a strip mall with grocery (Ralphs) and restaurants such as Dickeys Barbecue (excellent...get the daily special for best value), Jamba Juice, frozen yogurt, coffee shop.Staff was very helpful. When they discovered our stay was split between the beginning and end of the week, they suggested we sign up for a promotion Best Western was having. I wouldn't have known about it if they hadn't pointed it out and offered to sign us up. A large indoor mall as well as very nice outdoor mall (Costco in the complex) is only a couple miles away. This is a great value and we will stay here again.
This is the second time I stayed at this hotel. The hotel is accommodating to special needs and request. Rooms were clean and staff friendly. The breakfast hostess was the same person each time. That says something about the staff and facility. She is responsive to your request for help.
Visiting friends who live in Calabasas during Thanksgiving holiday - requested a indoor corridor 2nd floor room and received request - quiet area, cute bkft area but not large enough when there is a crowd - nice variety of choices like waffemaker and boiled eggs when not crowded and line is not long to make waffles and eggs available - nice variety of muffins/cereals/bagels. Bed is comfortable, would have like a slightly thicker comforter - able to turn on heat or A/C but loud enough that hard to sleep with fan/heat on. Staff very friendly. Check in and check out was easy. Parking is limited. there is an overflow parking lot across street if needed. Next to Goodwill so sometimes homeless people are standing around so don't feel so safe walking onto street. There is a coffee shop across the street and jamba juice nearby but I think better to drive than walk there if going at night. Paid about $150/night including taxes.
It is located in a pretty location and the room was pretty big. It is located close to restaurants and convenient. However the hotel is decent and a bit more expensive than usual. Staff was very nice and service was amazing, however I found that their online description didn't quite match what I found over there. Breakfast was ok. Overall, I'd recommend it to you if you are looking for a convenient place with good service!
The location is very busy near Ventura Blvd. and Topanga Canyon Rd. in Woodland Hills and close to Hwy 101, so it is convenient to activities at the Warner Center. Has an outdoor pool. It's a little inconvenient because a left turn onto Ventura is prohibited, so you have to make sure to go out the side driveway onto Don Pio if you are going west to Topanga. Breakfast is standard "breakfast included" fare, but a nice selection of pastries and muffins. Staff was friendly and and efficient. Housekeeping staff always greeted the guests when they encountered them. Staying at the back of the property away from Ventura is likely more quiet. No elevator, so be aware that schlepping your luggage up two flights of stairs might be difficult. Seemed to be effective in facility maintenance because we saw crews working on the stairs. Convenient to restaurants, with grocery stores and pharmacy across Ventura. Blvd. WiFi was the about the strongest we've encountered. We will go back.
One of the best hotels I've stayed in. Staff was courteous and very helpful! It was clean and the amenities worked out great! Shopping center with grocery store, pharmacy, and several restaurants came in handy! Certainly will return when traveling to Southern California!
My husband and I stayed here to be close to relatives living in the area. Overall the hotel is very average, but one thing makes it well worth the stay and I'll get to that in a bit. The entrance does seem quite impressive for an older 3 star. When you walk in it seems familiar, especially if you're a big movie buff. The service was excellent. We asked for a quiet room and got one at the back of the hotel, near the pool but facing the courtyard. Parking was plentiful even though they explained where to find the overflow parking in case it got busy later in the day. The pool is elevated and although not impressively large, the pool and hot tub area had charm you rarely find in a typical chain hotel. Exactly as expected, our room featured the layout and musty odor of an older motel. It had been renovated in 2014 with crown molding, granite counter tops and new furniture. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were typical. We regretted not bringing our own. We're fans of white noise in hotels and the air conditioning/heating unit was perfect. The continental breakfast featured all the usual fruit, yogurt, cheap danishes, cereal and make your own waffle center that you would expect. The breakfast area is tiny and wasn't crowded. Their coffee was just OK. We considered the coffee shop across the street but since it was included, we figured it was fine. Now what makes this hotel interesting is the proximity to movie locations. I'm not sure what movies the hotel has been in, but since so many were filmed on the streets of this area, we've most likely seen it in the cinema before. Google "movies filed in woodland hills, ca" and you'll find this neighborhood to be a popular location for film makers without the tourist traps of Hollywood.
This Hotel is our favorite weekend getaway. Rooms are very clean (Even the smoking rooms), front desk clerk is very pleasant and helpful. Not to mention the price is pocket friendly :) It is also within walking distance to restaurants (dine-in and fast food), CVS, and shopping.
From the time I checked in the service was excellent. Check-in was fast and easy and my room was clean and fantastic. I am always reminded of why I stay at the Best Western. The location was perfect and I never needed a cab for anything.
We chose this hotel due to it's good reviews and location. Our room had a fridge and microwave, two things we really like having on vacation so we can bring food instead of eating out every meal. There was also free wifi and free parking. The lady who checked us in was friendly, but it was odd that we had to wait a few minutes in the lobby before she arrived. It was around 3pm, which is near check-in time yet no one was manning the desk. We were in town visiting Universal's Halloween Horror Nights so we were out late. Around 10pm, while at the park, we realized we were going to be getting back to the hotel late, and wanted to request a later check-out time the next morning. I called four times but the phone just rang and rang and no one answered. I thought this was odd considering it wasn't even that late. Again, why is no one manning the phones and desk? We ended up calling at 3:30am when we got back to the hotel and were granted a noon checkout time, but then received a phone call at 11:15am asking if we were checking out that day. Strange that the right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing. The pool and hot tub looked nice, but we didn't get in. The pool hours are from 9am-9pm but the hot tub hours were 5-9pm. I thought this was odd. Why can't you get in the hot tub before 5? The pool was also a deep 8.5 feet which is unusual for a hotel pool. This hotel was close by Universal, about a 25 minute drive. It was across the street from a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and Whole Foods which was very convenient. There was a free breakfast from 630-930am which was too early for us so we didn't try it this time. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The only true pain in the butt was the parking. The website promised free parking but when we got back so late from the event, there was only one spot left and we weren't even sure it was a legit spot. Despite this, we would definitely stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western. Location wise it is a little out from Central LA but we liked the fact it was out of town as we could take advantage of features like free parking and the area being quieter. It is ideally located for Northern LA and areas like Calabasas, Malibu, Santa Monica and Hollywood if you have your own car. The hotel itself was clean and in a good state of repair - our room was large and well appointed with a large comfy bed, TV with loads of cable channels. We didn't use it but there is a pool, which looked good. The included breakfast was really good. The area has plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance. We found it a great value hotel in an ideal location for exploring LA. Would definitely return!
We stayed 5 nights here and it was a pleasant and centrally located motel for activities in Southern California. Topanga Canyon Rd takes you to Malibu and the freeways are very close also to get to other destinations. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the motel was clean. We had room 200 which is very large. The breakfast was good but would be better if there were a few more non carbohydrate offerings. Protein was limited to boiled eggs and yogurt. The pastries and bagels were good and fresh. I would recommend this hotel as an excellent bargain!
Reasonable price, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was wonderful. Fresh and quite the variety. Fresh fruit, waffles, pastries, cereal, coffee, juice, yogurt, muffins, bagels, toast. Mix and match whatever you heart desires and as much as you desire to have. Quiet and peaceful stay. Many shops and restaurants close by to choose from. My only Cons are..the pool and hot tub are upstairs and that makes it difficult for people with handicaps as there is no elevator only stairs. Only 1 washer and dryer...had to wait a few times in order to do our laundry. Despite these 2 cons, I would book and stay at this location again.
Everything from cleanliness, quietness, and comfortable bed make this a very good stay. The only thing that can be improved on is to add scramble eggs, bacons and sausages to their breakfast offering.
The Best Western Woodland Hills was a little different than I expected based on the reviews I read. It is definitely more motel than hotel. The rooms are fairly dated, BUT they have the nicest staff, really everyone I encountered there! It is a good value for the area, where it is difficult to find a reasonably priced room. We spent $30 to park for 4 hours in Venice beach (not recommended :p ). That said, LA is under development again, everything is getting crowded/ pricy. The Best Western was pretty basic, but gave us a lot of room for what we paid. We had a 1 br Queen suite. It was a large room with a minifrige and microwave, and there was an adjoining room with a table, sofabed, a second bureau and a second flat panel TV. The continental breakfast gives you more than most, with a waffle maker as well as breads and pastries. There was fresh fruit at breakfast, and there was always a basket at the front desk. I was surprised that the hotel was out of a very busy commercial street. We had a room towards the back and were not disturbed by street noise at all (which I expected, given how busy the street is). The hotel has a small pool and a laundromat (which was more reasonable than most I encountered). It was a very pleasant stay, largely because of how great the staff was. I was 'on the road' with my son to look a colleges. It was a practical trip, not a vacation, so I was looking for different things. This absolutely met our needs, and while it was not especially luxurious, we were not there to spend a lot of time in the room. We had access to every convenience with a large shopping center across the street and a trader Joe's and Whole Foods just down the road. I would recommend it if you need a place to stay in the area. It is clean, reasonably priced and puts you close to the center of the action (downtown is 10 minutes away, Hollywood less, depending on traffic of course). The wonderful staff and exceptional maintenence is what made this a better than average stay.
