Clean and comfortable... Staff was amazing, super helpful, kind and professional... Breakfast was hot and good. Coffee machine was awesome, can get a mocha, latte or whatever you please... Pool and hot tub are great! They are outdoors which I love! Definitely recommend and will return!

I called ahead and told staff I'd be checking in late. It was dark so I missed the quick left turn into the parking lot. I had to circle around the block, and noted a quiet residential neighborhood and security guard in the free parking lot, but still I was a little uneasy about being in a new place. I didn't see the rose garden. But I did see a family enjoying the outdoor heated pool. No elevator, but it was ok because I pack light. I requested a pet free room. Hotel is smoke free except outdoors. Room was very clean with American Mexican decor, beautiful tile and sink, portraits of men and women dancing in colorful dress. I appreciated no carpeting, but tiled floor. I always pack slippers on my trips. Temp control, fireplace, jetted tub worked well. I didn't turn on the TV. Bedding was fresh and clean. I didn't notice the bed, and slept well. Room was so comfortable I didn't leave early, but read on the sofa bed next to the fireplace until check out. Quiet room, though off busy Main Street. I took my breakfast up to my room. Ham, eggs, French toast, fresh blueberries and raspberries and yogurt from a dispensing machine, instant oatmeal with cinnamon, apples, and brown sugar, Americano coffee from a dispensing machine was delicious. I didn't try the biscuits and gravy nor the croissant, muffins, raisin bread, boiled eggs, cereal, milk…had something for everybody. The lady attending the breakfast was welcoming and not intrusive. Appreciated the sugar free maple syrup. Took a fresh baked cookie from the lobby for the road. The little things I would recommend is a sheet of instructions on how to operate the heater and fireplace, wifi password, jetted tub, and putting the parking pass on the dashboard. Also, Gideon's Bible would be nice, but I brought my own. Overall, the experience was better than an overpriced dinky hotel room in Santa Cruz or Monterey. Watsonville is between these touristy cities, and BW Rose Garden Inn was like a Marriot, but cheaper. Places to see… Before checking in I drove miles past Felton and Boulder Creek to Big Basin State Park. Beautiful drive, but the park was closed due to storm damage. The website had contradictory information. Instead, I backtracked to Felton and went to Henry Cowell State Park and did the .8 mile level trail through the coast redwoods forest. VC was closed, but the gift shop was well stocked. Stroller and wheelchair accessible except for one small tree that was probably downed across the trail because of last week's atmospheric river. Could easily step over it, but may be hard to lift someone in a wheel chair. There's a Foster Freeze with drive up window on Freedom Road near the Inn! Yes, old fashion chocolate dipped vanilla soft freeze cone! Next day, I took a boat trip on Elkhorn Slough in a custom-made catamaran, and saw otters, seals, water fowl, and shorebirds. Boat is safe and slow for even toddlers to roam around. We were walking from side to side as the guide pointed out different animals. The captain recommended Elkhorn Slough Reserve and Research Center visitor center. Good, wheelchair and stroller accessible paths and lookout, interesting exhibits and small gift shop. Easy, but steep walk to the water. She also recommended a couple of restaurants on the water that own their own fishing business. I had the freshest grilled rock fish, steamed vegetables, and rice with Seaside Pilsner. From the deck I could watch fishing boats coming in from the bay, and kayakers who paddled around the restaurant. I am definitely coming back to visit Selby Discovery Museum in Santa Cruz and Cannery Row in Monterey, but will eat at Moss Landing and stay at this inn in Watsonville. Lots to see and do.

So grateful to be upgraded to a suite that fit our needs perfectly. Staff was friendly, site was clean, rooms were comfy, the area felt safe… great experience! Having two rooms to separate my girls so I could rest my back was fantastic after throwing my back out a few days before our scheduled trip!

We stayed at the Best Western Rose Garden because it is a pet friendly hotel. The receptionist was efficient and friendly. The room was very clean with no pet odor. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable with nice bedding. I recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a place to stay in Watsonville.

All the staff - front desk, cleaners, breakfast - were courteous and smiled! Everything in my room worked well! Room was clean! Lobby had coffee machine, cookies, and mints! I likes the texts asking if we want room service or not. I'm simply satisfied.

Our first time staying at the Best Western Rose Garden. At check in Jessica was great really friendly and welcoming. The room was great size. The free breakfast was really good. We will be returning soon.

I really liked the accommodation, the room was very clean and our stay was very peaceful. My family enjoyed the pool a lot and afterwards we were able to sleep peacefully. We will return another opportunity.

My wife and I booked three rooms for two nights for family for my daughters wedding three months ago as we are traveling from Chicago. When we called yesterday to confirm everything was good to go we we're told by Ashley "the desk manager" the third room on the second night was not available. We told her that was not acceptable and asked to speak with a supervisor. She refused. I told her to give us a call when it was worked out, and that we HAD to have the room, WE ARE 8 DAYS FROM THE WEDDING. HER SOLUTION WAS TO CANCEL ALL OUR RESERVATIONS AND TELL US SHE DIDN'T WANT TO SUBJECT HER STAFF TO PEOPLE LIKE US! WE WERE MISTREATED AND INSULTED......STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE....A COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR OUR FAMILT SITUATION.....AND A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO ASHLEY FOR THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN HISTORY.....

The majority of our stay was comfortable and staff was friendly and helpful. The stay could have been better on a couple of points. The wood floors look nice but are difficult for staff to clean. We were surprised to find the full kitchen was stocked with paper plates and plastic cutlery.

This property has been carefully updated to make the most of its small footprint. Parking was easy and plentiful, the room was clean and very comfortable, and breakfast was well laid out with plenty of choices. I did not use the pool, but others were enjoying it when I arrived. The front desk clerk was helpful and friendly. I would stay here again.

The bed was the best! The location was super quiet as I was in the back of the hotel. Super clean room! And BW has finally gone to shampoo dispensers in the shower instead of single use bottles!! The breakfasts were good..all automated dispensers and compostable dinnerware...

Good choice in a budget hotel. Excellent breakfast, clean thruought with friendly staff the only drawback is no elevator. We would definitely return if we need the area again we stayed five nights and had no problems

Great time. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean, bed was comfy. Decorations pretty, with nice tiles and details on sink. A/c unit worked well. Gym was open 24 hrs I think. Best breakfast I had at any hotel. Housekeeping opened and closed the doors for my Wife and I at break I appreciated that greatly. 10/10 would recommend and come back.

Everything was great and the staff was awesome. Bed was real comfy and the pool felt wonderful in the morning. Definitely in the upper echelons of Best Westerns. We'll definitely come back. Thank you!

My room had many amenities, even including a kitchenette. The staff was top notch. The breakfast was average, but well kept. There was too little bureau drawer space. I had to leave a day early due to a minor health issue and the office staff was very understanding and helpful.

Overall, I had a great experience at the “Rose Garden Inn” Best Western. The room was nice and extremely clean. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful, extremely efficient, and very pleasant. They provided a very warm welcome and even offered some dinner recommendations. I appreciate the amazing customer service provided by all your staff from the front desk, to house-keeping, and even the breakfast chef (who makes those good chocolate chip cookies that are up for grabs in the office). You all have quite the team. Thank you and I'll be back next summer! Keep up the amazing work. You all deserve a raise!

As i get older I hate to leave my own home and especially my own bed. Best western hotels have been that home away from home. The stay at the rose garden was exceptional. The room was very presentable and felt like I never left home. All the service was great! I will be back.

We were greeted by a cheerful, welcoming receptionist. Our room was clean and large. Decor was fun - especially the sink and tiling. The internet was fast to connect and flawless in performance. Breakfast had everything we enjoy but not quite as many choices as we have seen elsewhere. If we happen to need a room in the area in the future, this BW is a must!

Love this hotel. Been coming for years, twice a year. Always clean, nice staff. Parking is tight so don't be an a-hole and you will enjoy your stay. Pretty quiet, close to several good restaurants: Miyuki for great sushi and California Grill and Bar for almost anything else, both so good!

Cleanest hotel we have been too. Did not have the musty hotel room smell. Beds are comfy, pillows are nice and fluffy. My kids also enjoyed their two night stay. They could have added two complementary waters in the fridge? Lol. The breakfast area was great, my husband and I are coffee drinkers and the espresso machine was a great way to start our day. Thank you Best Western (Rose Garden) for a great experience.

Worst experience ever. The beds were the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on. The walls are paper thin, I could hear the next room talking on the phone till 3AM. So overpriced, I paid $250 a night. Pay the extra $50 and stay at the Hampton.

Water line broke and no water no way to shower flush toilet. Went to front desk at 6:45 am. Person at front desk said they couldn't or didn't have any info and manager would not be in till 9. We asked for manager to be called, we were told she wasn't going to come in till her shift started. We asked for a discount and we would not be staying another night After packing loading car we asked if manager gave them any information yet and still none. She still won't be in till 9 Then we asked to call regional manager he was not answering call. Asked to call owner and they did not have phone number. When Ashley the manager finally came to work she delivered our receipt to our hotel door while I was calling best western customer service she handed us a receipt saying here is $50. Discount and have a nice day. We tried to talk to her saying we felt that was a bit low. And why she couldn't of told the people at the desk that a hour ago. She would not talk or look at us. She instantly turned her back on us. Worse customer service EVER. Do not stay here.

This is a hotel to stay at, it's a hidden gem, I called and made a reservation for my family coming in from out of town. check-in was at 3 so it was definitely great I received a text that my room was ready and waiting for me 2 hours before a very nice check-in. its location was perfect between Santa Cruz and Monterey. Can't go wrong.

Rooms were not as explained, check in process had issues, front desk was unsure if my reserved room was vacant or not, key cards were deactivated 2 days in a row, surrounding area is super sketchy at night, nice rooms in bad area

First time staying here. Was looking for something near Santa Cruz that wouldn't break the budget and would also be nice and pet friendly. I don't know if all the rooms are similar, but we loved the deluxe studio with two beds, a pull out couch, and private entrance. ROOM 101. For our little yorkie-poo this place was soon pet friendly! The two queen beds were blocked off underneath, there was a private courtyard (with gate) for our pup to do her business, and the floors were hardwood! So didn't have to worry about accidents or anything getting torn up, or hidden surprises or stains! The parking was a nightmare as the hotel was fully booked. But our room with seperate entrance had a spot on the street right in front! Just can't be parked there from 4pm-6pm m-f. The breakfast dining was great, staff was friendly, and place was clean and not outdated! The only complaint would be lack of lock on bathroom door, and the bed was leaning back so feet are slightly elevated. Maybe it's an ergonomic thing. Definitely a great hotel for our road trip, and a safe clean place for our pup. :) - Clint Taylor

I stayed in this hotel for almost a month due to a flood in my kitchen. I chose this hotel because they took pets and had a kitchen, and I like roses.... Overall, the stay was pleasant but there were a few things that were not.... NEGATIVES: The housecleaning staff was below average, especially the older house cleaner woman with the grey hair and the scowl on her face. They came to my room once a week and the last time they came they did not clean the kitchen, they only made the beds...I was greatly disappointed and I was upset as it was subpar. I had to ask that they come back and clean, which, due to the fact that I only had them clean once a week due to my cat and dog, the this particular woman did an extremely POOR job. My friend that stayed there with me for a few days, mentioned to me "What's up with the older cleaning lady with the grayish hair? She is not very nice!" It was like she had an really bad attitude and hated her job. Further, then the hotel moved me to another room, due to no fault of theirs, in front of the swimming pool/hottub. I went out to the tub and it was suppose to close at 10pm. The evening manager, Ashley (I think), told me & my friend that they closed at 10 and we were were the only ones there, just talking in the tub. We left, no problem. but the following nights, younger visitors hung out playing rap music loudly till 10:30 plus, and when I called the front desk , the night mgr (Ashley?) told me "Are they doing anything to bother you?" I said yes, they are blasting rap music after hours and making all kinds of noise.. Then she said, "I have not had any other complaints ," Like I was just making it up?? right....??? But when my friend and I were in the hot tub, minding our own business, not blasting music nor even talking loud we were asked to leave at 10? I was pretty upset by HER attitude. It was not the Hotel in general... Further, I believe the same visitors were in the pool at 9am blasting the same rap music, yet again the next morning, but the manager ignored complaints...maybe they were friends of hers?... Also, the housecleaners let my cat out of the room when they came to clean. The sign was CLEARLY on the door DO NOT CLEAN. The front desk person, Ashely, yet again, was defensive and not polite. she said to me "we did not let your cat out, the door was left open" yeah right, once again....Fortunately, I found my cat the next day but she had in a fight with another cat and it cost me $500 at the vet. Bad front desk manager...horrid. She was Soooo defensive, not an advocate for the guests...power trip POSITIVES: The gardener, assistant housecleaner, and all the other personnel at the front desk were great. In particular, the gal that worked in the breakfast cafe was fantastic. She constantly was cheerful, helpful and worked hard every day I was there, keeping the breakfast room clean and things in working order. The sad thing was that I left her a $20 tip and one of the "guests" stole it! My room was clean when I arrived, but the housecleaning was poor. The rose garden was incredibly beautiful, thank you Mr. Gardener! Overall, the hotel was very nice and quiet... the pool area was clean and the front desk had great cookies. If you are staying short term, you may have a better stay than me...I would stay there again if the front desk manager was not working there. She was hostile, rude and not compassionate. Weekends were the worst, weekdays were quiet and the staff extremely friendly. Further, the review questionaire asked were the linens sanitized at a high temperature? HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO KNOW????

BW Watsonville is one of the cleanest hotels that I have stayed at in years. Our room was very clean and well maintained, as were the buildings and grounds. The rose gardens are beautiful. The breakfast room would set a standard for many higher priced hotels. The food was comparable to most others, but the cleanliness of the room and the friendliness of the staff were outstanding. We did experience a noise problem on our last night of three. The guests in the room next door carried on arguing and screaming until 3 AM. Repeated calls to the front desk quieted them briefly, but they were not quiet until after 3. We recognize that this is a guest problem and that there is only so much that the hotel can do, but it made our early morning wake up very difficult. In spite of some unruly guests, we would recommend this hotel.

Very clean , comfortable beds , wish bathroom doors locked and that they had better wifi . My iPhone wasn't working properly the whole stay and didn't connect to wifi . Breakfast room was super clean , breakfast was great . Staff was friendly . I would recommend .

We were doing the Monterey Bay Cactus and Succulent Show at the Portuguese Hall. This motel was a short drive away. The afternoon clerk suggested Jaliscos for Mexican food, an easy walk. Friday night included Mariachi music and delicious food. Room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The evening clerk found a charging cord for my iphone. Morning help in the breakfast room was also friendly and efficient. Beautiful weather. A fine weekend!

Overall the process to book a room was easy and the receptionist were really nice also the room was for The most part clean I liked all the things included in the room like microwave, fridge, tv, charging ports and all the towels and soaps in the shower…,the only thing I could complain about was the bed covers looked as if they weren't changed there was dust and lots of hair strands everywhere on both beds in my room …. But other than that I was really happy the location was very convenient for me and my family the staff was really friendly … our favorite part was the complementary breakfast the lady who tends to the kitchen is a very good worker she keeps The place stocked and clean and is super nice ! Also checking out was so easy with no problems ! And I loved that my room was ready 3hours ahead of the scheduled time that had originally stated it would be.

What a sweet place to stay! From the sweet Hispanic decor to the yummy breakfast blueberry yogurt parfait, hot tub, pool, comfy beds, tech savvy and kind staff…I could go on and on! Highly recommend! I will definitely stay there again on my next visit with my family. The breakfast room was efficiently restocked and kept clean by a very active and professional woman who set the bar very high for others.

I stay in hotels close to 100 nights a year, everything from low end to mid-range to very high end. For what I paid for Best Western Rose garden, I'm quite impressed. Absolutely spotless rooms with wood like floors, fridge and microwave and a very nice bathroom that actually has an operating window. Heat and fan system is modern and excellent. The housekeeping front desk staff are very efficient and courteous, much faster sometimes than in those high-end hotels! Free parking was much appreciated as it deters me from staying from a hotel when I have to pay it. Convenient location walkable to Main Street shops. TV was excellent and easy to operate with many many channels. Some hotels have very limited channels. Breakfast was not bad at all for this range of hotel. Actual hot fried eggs, and some healthy options that I can eat which included some nuts, vials of peanut butter and of course the usual array of breads sausages etc. Decent coffee machine in the breakfast room. Very pleasant and clean. And at the front desk they do provide free hot homemade chocolate chip cookies each day! There is a vending machine area and ice which I needed desperately for my sports injury arm. Also a guest laundry and that was so helpful as I had pants I needed to clean for going to work on Monday. What really impressed me is they have a quiet zone time from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and they don't allow partying in the room without permission from the management. So I slept very well with that good fan system and I have a sleep app on my phone but not noisy at all from other residents. Very good job Best Western and I would recommend staying here even if you're used to higher end hotels. By the way lots of outlets for your devices. I had to work in the area but I used my hotel as a base on the weekend and explored capitola, Monterey and Moss landing quite easily from here. So you can avoid pricey hotels and still have the benefit of enjoying those areas using this hotel as a base. This is the best Western best that I've ever stayed at

Probably one of the better Best Westerns I've stayed out. Better than expected breakfast. Very friendly staff. The walls and ceiling are a little thinner than one would wish but that all depends on your neighbor. Parking it tight in the main lot but they do have a secondary (onsite) on the backside which worked out better. We used this as a central location to get to Big Sur, Monterey, and Santa Cruz. Plus there are redwood parks just a short drive. The cost of room was well worth the few extra miles of travel. Great pick.

Rose Garden is our go-to hotel on the coast. The staff is amiable and helpful. Everything we want to do is within a 40-minute radius. We have two small ESA dogs, and the Rose Garden welcomes them. The breakfast bar is better than other best westerns we have been to. The beds great to sleep on.

Another great experience at the Rose Garden Inn Best Western in Watsonville, CA. The staff is exceptional and very customer focused. I asked to change my room location and they promptly accommodated my request. Rooms are very clean and spacious. I had a king bed with a small workstation. The breakfast room is so helpful when trying to grab a quick bite before a meeting.

Good deal! $ Our room was very clean and quiet. Close to the ocean , which is what we were looking for. The pool and jacuzzi were nice and clean also. The Breakfast options were great! Eggs, bisquits and gravy, sausage, fruit ect. We had a nice stay.

I loved this hotel. Great location, wonderful room, nice sized pool, good breakfast. There was good coffee also! The staff was exceptional. The hotel is in a nice area, and close to beaches and perfectly situated between Santa Cruz and Monterey. They are also very dog friendly. I loved to pool and hot tub.

The staff was super friendly, there was coffee and fresh baked cookies available in the lobby, the pool was perfect, and our room was large and the beds were comfortable. We were very pleased with our stay.

We were really surprised by this Best Western. It was recently remodeled and everything looked nice and clean. We loved how our suite didn't have your typical boring hotel decor/design. Our room was more Mexican tile themed. The internet was pretty solid. The breakfast was great (not bad and grab) and the kids liked it. Because the hotel is small, access to the pool is really quick and easy. No long treks from your room and back. While Watsonville may not be many people's choice of destination, it is a good split between Santa Cruz and Monterey. So we were happy.

Stayed 2 nights. The neighbors upstairs were stomping around in their room and on the walkway. Did not get much sleep. Since we booked 2 nights and the website says non-refundable we felt stuck. Floor was not swept. Came out of the shower and before going to bed had to scrub feet again. This was the first night. You have to request that your room be cleaned. Nowhere on the site does it say that the pool is under construction. We were told that they just put a fence around it by the desk person. Breakfast consists of a frozen jimmy dean ham and cheese english muffin, orange juice and a yogurt. Took the survey and left messages on email and one voicemail for property manager to respond-no results. Very disappointed as this was our 28 year anniversary.

Staying here for work. This is not as snazzy as other Best Western properties. It is rather noisy outside but rooms are nice and basic. Plenty of channels on tv - but weak internet. Hardward floors rather than carpeting. Pool is out of commission and breakfast to go for covid. Staff is helpful enough but I have defnitely stayed at better properties. Tomorrow I will see if there actually is a rose garden here.

Front Desk was great. Internet as expected. Rooms are decent size. Front end of hotel seemed better than the end we were on. Not controlled access so random people walking through and parking. Fridge was dirty, floor was dirty, and found used needles in the bushes upon leaving. Traveling with infant so you can imagine our reaction... Would NOT recommend.

Regretting our stay here a few hours in. We've already complained once, to no effect, about the very loud tailgate parties happening in the small parking lot. Loud music, loud talking, and cooking off the back of a vehicle. There are plenty of nice parks around here for that! Why in this tiny parking lot where noise travels?!? Do not understand how staff can allow this to go on hour after hour. Pissed.

We chose this hotel because it was close to friends that we were visiting and they accepted dogs. I was in the car with our dog when my husband checked us in. The woman questioned my husband about who he was and why we were checking in so late (9pm). She also demanded to know what time we wanted to pick up our breakfast "to go" bag. Very rude. This is an older place that needs a lot of work. The room did not feel clean. The air conditioner was very loud when it cycled on and off. We had a hard time sleeping because of the street noise. This hotel did not feel safe either. There was a group of people in the parking lot having a party and drinking. There was a couple outside our room talking loudly at 2am. We were awakened at 4am by cigarette smoke. When we opened the door, there was a man outside our room smoking. This hotel charged us $30 for our dog while most Best Westerns only charge $20 and give us a clean sheet to put on top of the bed and a couple of dog biscuits. This place gave us nothing. We are surprised that this hotel even carries the Best Western name. I apologize for this long review but this was our experience.

Very poor spring beds. No mention that the hotel was under construction. The appearance of the hotel while under construction was very sloppy, unorganized, landscaping not kept up and dead, outside of hotel was dirty ...stairwells and banisters window sills everything. Very poor part of town and not represented well online in pictures. Very noisy. Rooms outdated.

the floor hadn't been dust mopped and there was hair on the wall in the shower, on the bathroom walls and.across the toilet. Checkout guy was rude and the place is a pain to find and parking sucks. Stay elsewhere

The roons have been uodated. The breakfast is the best ever. There were 4 in my grouo and everyone loved breakfast including their coffee machine. They had eggs, saysage, biscuits, gravy, waffle maker, muffuns, fruit, etc. It had so many choices. Can't wait to go back.

As a Medical Sales Rep I stay at hotels multiple times per week with Status at numerous brands, Best Western being one of them.. This property was a very pleasant surprise!! The grounds and property is kept up in exceptional condition, the rooms were decorated very nicely, above and beyond other Best Westerns, I upgraded to a suite that included a fire place for just a few dollars more. The breakfast had a greater selection than all other hotels as well. I highly recommend this location.

We stayed in a big room with two queen beds and a full sofa bed and a full kitchen. The room was updated and mostly clean. My only complaint was that the sofa bed blanket had animal and human hair all over it. And a few bath towels had hair stuck to them. I am a bit picky about those things, especially in a hotel that allows animals, special care should be used to clean all fabrics that attract hair. Otherwise it was nice to have a private entrance and such a big room for all of us. The pool was nice for the kids, even in cold weather they can't pass up a chance to swim....it was heated! And breakfast is always the highlight!! Eggs, sausage, waffles, hot chocolate, biscuits and gravy, fruit, oatmeal, muffins, and more!

This hotel has everything we need, so it's the only place we stay while in Watsonville. I prefer rooms with a whirlpool tub, and this location has them. Breakfast is well tended to, and the choices are well thought out. Convenient to all of town and Elkhorn Slough.

room was ready early. we used a suite and it was well laid out. plenty of room for our portable infant cribs. mattresses were firm and very comfortable. room was quiet; we did not hear any other people.

The employees are welcoming and friendly! The breakfast options are delicious! And they have a guest laundry room and a pool!! Plus, they are within walking distance of a park.

The Best Western was a nicely renovated hotel in Watsonville. Rooms have laminate floors which made the rooms have a clean modern look. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast, pool, hot tub, and exercise room were bonuses.

Nice staff and service. Rooms are small. Breakfast was great. Parking is very tight and parking lot is very small. A lot of flies in pool area during the day, pool area needs a good cleaning (even the floor needs a good wash). Service was good though.

Reserved a dbl king using a third party. At check in, was told they didn't offer that room. Was put into a dbl queen instead. Mattresses need updating. Also found men's whiskers left on the sink. The morning staff was amazing though with great hospitality!

The environment and people were great as i walked into the lobby . The staff was friendly. The room devote was beautiful the tile sink and paintings. Then fitness room was well kept and breakfast was not just your muffins and coffee.you will have to see for yourself.

We stayed overnight on our way from LA to SFO. Arrived late at night, the parking was full, so had to park at the back side of the hotel. The hotel looks dated and isnt worth the $$ they demand. The place definitely needs renovation. Nothing great to write about this one.

The Good- The hotel is located in a decent area of town. The Breakfast area and items were exceptional. The area was well kept and everything was constantly replenished & cleaned- plus the area was nice and large to accommodate a lot of people. Our room was decent- had everything we needed. The Bad- they had an issue with the cable and TV was out for quite some time. I understand that they don't have control over this issue- but I had to go down to front desk to ask - otherwise we would not have been informed it was throughout the hotel and not just our room. The room was cleaned just ok- found lots of dust in cabinet under sink especially on the hair dryer cord... And an old beer can! Almost like no one ever cleaned in there? Plus the kitchen area had some molding that was coming apart from wall and other cosmetic issues as well. I don't think the little oven was ever cleaned either?! They should just take it out cause no one would want to use it! The Tiny-- The sink in bathroom had no space to put any toiletries so we had to put them on kitchen counter. But the worst was the shower which had a shower head way too big for the tiny stall. The spray hit you everywhere. You could not get out of it- so you ended up soaping and rinsing at same time- just crazy!

Check in was quick and the kids loved the huge bowl of mints. the rooms were clean, spacious and quiet. our room was 215 and we never heard other people, doors open or close and no elevator dings. The pool was clean and the hot tub was hot. Location was good except for egress if turning left out of the parking lot.

We know the floor was dirty as we were walking around with our socks. We have to throw them away after our stay here. The first night, the alarm clock from the unoccupied room next to us woke us up at around 4 or 5 am in the morning. Not sure why the alarm clock was not reset after each guest leaves. My review is however not really about the dirty floor or alarm clock as these are not a big deal for us. This review is mainly based on my experience with the front desk staff and how the communication was lack of clarity in regards to their pet fee. When I check in, I told the front desk staff (who is also the manager) that I have a small 14 lb dog. She told me that it will be 30 dollar pet fee. I signed the pet policy slip and did not read it. My understanding, and based on my prior experience with other Best Westerns, is that the fee is per stay. When I checkout the hotel, I was not given a receipt and I did not ask for one as I was in a hurry to leave. After coming home for few days, I checked my credit card bill, it shows that the hotel bill is higher than I expected. I called the hotel and was told the pet fee is 30 dollars per night. Even though, I have had, in my prior experience, paid pet fee as high as 35 dollars a night at Sheraton, but the pet fee came with a feather bed for my pet, bowls, and poop bags. In addition, I was also told the accurate pet fee. I think the 30 dollar pet fee is too high for the service. However, if I was told the correct information, I may complain about it with my spouse instead of writing this bad review. I am giving them two stars because of their friendly staff at the breakfast room and allowing us to check in at 1:00 pm. P.S. Not that it matters with their high pet fee, but we did not ask for maid service during our stay. This is our preference as we don't believe that towels and beds sheets need to be changed on the daily basis just because you can.

Aside from a check-in computer system crash, the stay was really great. Room was very clean and breakfast was perfect. There is a park just a block away for our pup to run and play. Staff were very friendly. Housekeepers were very helpful and responsive to our needs. Centrally located between Santa Cruz and Monterey. However, so close to the main road made for occasional loud cars and trucks driving by. We would stay there again.

Charming Little gem— while out of the way in a sleepy little world community Watsonville really is a charming little And that's hotel is very pleasant. Despite being near the main road It was relatively quiet breakfast was a pleasant surprise and relatively nice, and the service was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

We visited here on our trip down route 1 after starting at San Francisco, it was a very good place to stop, The staff were friendly and the room was clean and well equipped. We had a very good breakfast and enjoyed the stay. No evening meal is served here but is was only a short walk to Jalisco's Mexican restaurant, here we had good food to a 9 piece Mexican Band.

This is a physically lovely Inn with clean rooms and an area-appropriate architectural style. Check-in was smooth and efficient. The main problem is the location of the Inn -- right next to a very busy street. Loud. LOUD. Well into the night. Also, nearby church bells rang with puzzling frequency.

Due to a Termite Fumigation at home we needed to find someplace to stay. We picked Watsonville for pricing and location to Monterey, Santa Cruz and other coastal towns and attractions. Our room was an ADA (disabled) room. I use a rolling walker. The room with a queen bed in it was so small that we had to constantly change positions in the room for the purposes of getting to the closet or the restroom. (reminded me of a puzzle where you slide the parts around) There were two chairs in the room - neither of which provided any comfort for sitting. The ADA bathroom was laid out poorly with the light switch on the outside of the door - and the toilet behind the door in such a location that to use the facilities you had to go in toward the shower, then close the door to get to the toilet. Same to get out - go past the door to the shower area, then open the door to go out. The Shower in the Tub had a hand held wand. However, the "button" to activate the wand was up on the shower-head someplace - which we never found - additionally, the shower-head is up so high on the wall there is no way that a disabled person like myself could find and operate said "button". A shower chair is provided - but it does not fit properly into the bathtub. The room smelled like antiseptic and bleach continually. I guess it was clean, but breathing that for 3 or 4 days gets rather tiresome. The room is right next door to the housekeeping room. Starting at 5:30 in the morning the noise from the Ice Machine starts as the staff starts getting ice for the front lobby (I assume it is for the breakfast) Then the staff starts loading their cleaning carts talking and laughing in the hall in front of the room door - as if there is no one sleeping right there. During our stay a sink was being installed in a closet next to our room (for housekeeping staff) - while they weren't using power tools - sleeping in was definitely out of the question as the pulling of pipe and cutting of wall board along with the conversation being held by the plumbers was at a volume that made sleep impossible. That same day, without warning, the water in our room was shut off. The website states continental breakfast - but the only thing I saw was cookies and coffee. The coffee was not available in the lobby for very long - and the coffee makers in the room are single cup only. Extremely disappointed in front desk response to inquires. We will not stay here again and do not recommend.

Facility was very nice and clean. Pricing was high. Better pricing online but won't allow you to reserve for one night. Customer service was great and helped with a one day reservation. I will probably stay again for the convenience of being close to family.

The front desk associate, Andrea, welcomed us with a smile and was friendly and courteous. The check-in was great and went very smooth. The guest room was very clean and we liked the Spanish décor. The towels were nice and thick, and the bed was comfortable. We were satisfied with that part of our stay. However, we certainly will never stay at this hotel ever again! And that's because the first thing we noticed was the parking lot was very small. There weren't enough spaces to park our car. All the parking spaces in the lot were filled. Other cars were coming in and out trying to find parking and were also trapped inside the small parking lot with no where to park which created a gridlock. The public street was posted with no parking signs. And even if there weren't any no parking signs, I was not going to park my car overnight out in a dimly lit street. We later were fortunate to find a space to park in when one of the hotel guests left. But the real problem why we will never stay at this hotel was because of the housekeeping staff. It was around 6:45 A.M. the next morning when my wife woke up to loud banging noises coming from the laundry room located in the hallway which was next door to our room. Then the all female housekeeping staff began gossiping in loud voices about someone. They gave no thought or consideration to the fact that guests were still sleeping at this time of the morning. At this point the loud talking woke me up. I asked my wife if she knew what all the noise was. We waited for several minutes to see if the loud banging noise and talking would stop. But it continued and even got louder. At this point I called the front desk to alert them about their staff's bothersome situation. I spoke with Virginia, the front desk manager. After telling her that her housekeeping staff were loud and disturbing, she laughed. Her laughing angered me. I expected her to be more sympathetic and apologize for the thoughtlessness and rudeness of her staff. I asked her why was she laughing. Instead of immediately apologizing for her staff's behavior, she came off a bit defensive saying something about one of the housekeeping staff should have been by herself. I told her that had nothing to do with her staff talking loud and making loud noises. Virginia should have known that in the hospitality industry, an industry representing the highest standard of customer service, she should have not been defensive in her response to my concern. She offered no apology. Just moments after my call we could clearly hear Virginia tell her staff that a guest had complained that their talking was loud and disturbing and for them to be quieter. We heard one of the housekeeping ladies tell Virginia that all of them felt they weren't noisy at all because the laundry machine was loud to cover the loudness of their voices. That statement is absolutely not true. After Virginia left, the loud talking continued as well as the loud banging which got even louder and more frequent than when it first occurred. As a result of this behavior following Virginia's talk with them, there is no doubt that their attitudes were rebellious, arrogant, disrespectful and in retaliation for us complaining. We even heard one of the staff members say apparently to another staff member that “some clients had complained about the noise and loud talking”. Later that morning I went to the office to check out. I asked Virginia if she was the person whom I spoke with earlier that morning about her housekeeping staff's disturbance of our peace. She indicated she was that person. She still didn't apologize. The entire staff were very rude and in desperate need of some customer service training. Most importantly, the entire staff needs to be trained on their behavior skills. I recommend that management needs to train their employees to attend to guests and give intermittent refresher courses to them. We would recommend that people do not go to this particular Best Western Hotel until the management has her staff in order. We understand that we should expect a reasonable amount of disturbances and activities by others. However, we are entitled to the right to enjoy our stay at a Best Western Hotel without undue interference from the hotel's staff and employees. We have a right to stay in a guest room quietly, peacefully and free from any nuisance that interferes with our comfort, convenience and enjoyment. We paid for that right.

Nice staycay for Watsonville area! Parking is tight but staff is great! I love the decor in the room. Breakfast was good and staff that are in dining area were very friendly and helpful. All in all it was great!

This motel was an absolute delight. I am impressed with very few motels, the decor is usually hum drum, but I was absolutely thrilled with this motel. I loved the decor-it is a wonderful change from the usual modern-blah or hotel -flowery blah decor. The Mexican/Spanish theme is very well done. They seem to be going more modern in the lobby-please don't! Everyone does the modern thing and it is very boring! I don't know how the grounds could have been more gorgeous-flowers everywhere and very well maintained. The pool area is very pretty. The breakfast was the best one I have ever had at a motel. Hot: Scrambled eggs and sausage links, biscuits and gravy, make yourself waffles. Cold: Cereal selection, hard-boiled eggs, choice of baked goods. And a wonderful breakfast room with beautiful colorful pottery and a window looking out on a garden. I wish every motel was as nice as this one!

nice hotel.. Very clean, nice pool, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Recommending a great restaurant in walking distance. The only complaint I had was breakfast. The coffee is not fresh brewed it is out of a machine and it tasted like it!!! Other then that awesome customer service and beautiful with the roses all around.

We stayed in the full kitchen with patio suite. The patio was private and had a patio table and chairs. The sofa bed mattress was very comfortable as were the 2 queen beds. The magnifying make up mirror in the bathroom was a plus, also plenty of counter space in the bathroom. Large kitchen with plenty of dishes and utensils. Not much in the way of pots and pans but we didn't plan on cooking anyway.

I had to open the windows to ventilate the room. Then I had to asked the front desk for cleaning supplies because the floors had hair, peanuts & pistachio shells all over the seats in the kitchen and floor, and dust everywhere like you wouldn't believe! Then there were white stains & pet hair on the sheets, pubic hair and long womens hair all over the shower.

We were very impressed by the staff. They made us feel very welcome and were super helpful. The person at the front desk was wonderful; there was always a warm greeting from the cleaning staff; and the breakfast room person was very helpful and welcoming.

The entire facility was well kept & the front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. When we travel we always try to stay at Best Westerns. The continental breakfast is pretty good compared to most as they have a pretty good selection of choices. I definitely love their Best Western Member rates

I was assured that my requirements that I specified to HOTELS.com that I need two queen beds on ground level could be met. Either Hotels.com did not convey the information or the Best Western failed to adequately follow the requirement. So my 86 year old mother was forced to climb stairs. There are no elevators at this motel. The , manager, Ms. Kennedy stated that it was only a request. With a reservation made more than a month in advance, I believe that Best Western staff screwed up. The manager is not well trained. She should at least apologized, offer compensation, rather than only say that it was a request. The breakfast area is being remolded which should have been made known at the time of the reservation. I could have changed my motel reservation. I will NOT BE recommending any BW locations in the future and certainly will not stay here again.

We booked this room for our honeymoon last year and again for our anniversary this year. The upgrades were an added bonus to our stay. We cant wait to return next year to enjoy the new breakfast area and fitness gym!

So, we were taking a family trip to San Fran, I found this hotel on best Westerns site and used my points to book. The outside paint scheme doesn't do the rooms justice. The room we had was refreshed, smelled clean, looked clean and was very well taken care of. It had a bit of a Spanish feel. To be honest this was a perfect deal! The hotel staff was super friendly and the breakfast the next morning was delicious and offered a ton of different things to eat and drink. The stay for my family was amazing. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely staff and they mean well. But, the owners scrimp on renovating. The floors feel like they are never really vacuumed and certainly the corners are nasty. There's an old fridge that rumbles all night and the ac can't decide what to do. When you walk in the room there's a blast of bleach coming from the sheets and towels. Owners. Instead of giving us a new breakfast room you could invest in new foam mattresses and teach your staff how to clean deeper.

Lovely rose gardens on the property (hence the name), excellent service, and a unique studio apartment that included a full kitchen, an actual closet and spacious bathroom. It also had a private, gated entrance with a patio along the side, with bougainvillea in bloom overhanging the space. Beautiful!

I checked in on a Friday night for two nights. About midday Saturday, I received a phone call saying the hotel didn't have an open room for the night because they overbooked. They wouldn't refund me the night and I went to the Holiday Inn where it was a much better experience and also cost less for the night. Later, I contacted Best Western corporate to file a complaint. They filed a complaint with the manager at the Watsonville location and said that the manager would call me within the week. The manager never called so after a week I called the Watsonville location and the manager claimed she had lost my number and would have the general manager call me. The general manager never called and I called back a week or so later. The same thing happened. I was told that she lost my number and that the general manager would call me. The general manager never called me and the manager on site could easily look up my number in the hotel computer. They won't enter your information into the system correctly, which makes it hard to retrieve a receipt or other information about the stay. They will say they are going to email you a receipt and then you will never receive an email. Neither myself nor my friend received an email receipt like we were told we would. This location uses shady business tactics and I highly recommend going elsewhere.

Although in the style of a typical 2-story outdoor-entry motel with a breakfast room, this was definitely a notch above. The room was quite nice with a hardwood floor, nice furniture, large TV, good bed, and decent bathroom. A little stingy on the shampoo and towels could have been softer. Had a nice pool and hot tub, too. Staff was very friendly and rooms were very clean. Breakfast was decent with eggs (not tasty) waffles, bagels, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee - the usual.

When we arrived at the hotel, the check in experience was poor- very rude, curt member of staff. Went to the room to find tape on the door, the maid said that this was because the door had just been painted. Room was ok, clean. Tv was far too small for the size of the room. Shower system was very complicated to get the hang of but it was a good temperature and warm. My daughter and I went to use the gym to find it was being used as a storage room for the building works. Breakfast was a shambles. Tiny room and most days we were sat on tables outside in the car park. It also seemed as once it's gone it's fine as we didn't see the items being replenished. On the occasions we needed to ask information at the reception, I found the staff to be rude and unhelpful. At night it was difficult to park in the main car park- we were told we would have to use an over spill car park round the back. I was not happy about this as it meant leaving the hotel to do this. I would not chose to stay here again

The only complaint I would have if I wanted to be a complainer is parking. Other than that, we had a great stay. The pool and hot tub area was clean and not crowded which was nice and relaxing. Our room looked out over th pool area which was convenient as my younger son wanted to swim but the older one wanted to stay in. I was able to swim with the little one and keep an eye on the room. When we arrived the room wasn't ready but they put a rush on the room and text about 30 minutes later that is was ready. We had traveled into Santa Cruz so I called for a late check in which was no problem. The girl at the counter when we arrived was so friendly and helpful. The room was clean, beds clean, and shower was nice and hot with good pressure. I'd definitely stay herhere again and recommend to anyone.

I had a king suit, nice room. They verity of rooms that are available is great. Breakfast was good, a lot of different choices. The breakfast room is very small, additional outside seating. The pool was clean, I will definitely stay at this location again

This hotel was super clean, the room was spacious and comfortable. The staff overall was great, with the only area of opportunity being with the night staff at the front desk. Either she was new and not trained or she isn't held to the same level of accountability as her day time counterparts. Checking in was fast, but that was due to the lack of participation on her end. Usually when checking in to a hotel the staff is courteous and offers the information you may need while you settle in, I forgot that not all hotel staff was this way.

We stayed with our family-2 adults 3 kids for 4 nights.Great pool, hot tub, breakfast, rates, staff was extremely nice. Always had hot water with good pressure! From the front office to the breakfast staff( I forgot her name but she was awesome!!!) to the room service. Rooms was always clean and stocked with clean towels and toiletries-great place with a great price per night! We were very satisfied!

Stayed 3 nights here the room was spacious internet worked well she shower had plenty of hot water the on problem was the cable went out for about 4 hours but that was in charter cable company and the other thing is it can get kind ofk noisy if your room is by the street i would recommend this place

On June 1, Me and my family checked in to this hotel, It looked clean and looked very nice to stay but at night there were problems. Can smell marijuana between the rooms, kids running up and down the hall way to wee hours in the morning, talking loud at night especially to other quests in rooms, and cars being run all hours of the night. If I had a chance to stay here again, I think I would stay somewhere else . I love and I stayed at best westerns hotels before, but this hotel need to fix there problems

We were spending the weekend with some friends at Pajaro Dunes resort and needed a place to stay nearby. We were very happy with our stay at this hotel. Very clean rooms, nice beds, good location. Ample breakfast. Nice pool and hot tub. We would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Watsonville.

We spent one night and the room was very clean and comfortable. We were forewarned of ongoing renovations so not surprised at few plaster patches on the wall. Front desk was very accommodating to help print travel vouchers. Breakfast was as expected and appreciated. Would happily stay there again should the need arise.

My family and I stay here when we're traveling through Monterey,Carmel-by-the Sea and Santa Cruz it's not a long drive from here to anyone of these places maybe 20-35 min.. the hotel was very clean and convenient. I would stay here again. Only down side was parking was limited... swimming pool was right in the middle of hotel so that was great to watch the kids swim from the room. Their continental breakfast as pretty good it offered eggs, sausage, cereal, waffles,

Very clean room. Very spacious room! We enjoyed the 2 room suite. It had two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a Jacuzzi tub and a fire place. Awesome breakfast, many many options. I love the self made waffles. The only bad thing was that we were close to the pool and loud screaming kids were in the pool well past 10pm. But after kayaking at Elkhorn Slough we were wiped out and fell asleep to screaming kids. Woke up at 11pm to silence. Bed was super comfy. Shower was nice and hot. We will be back for sure.

I'd avoid this location like the plague. There is no reception as there is a major renovation going on. The makeshift reception had a “please knock” on its door. Why?! I am not sure. The whole parking lot was filled with construction workers' trucks as you can see from my photos. On top of this the workers were barbecuing on multiple spots. No sight of any management in this hotel. The breakfast was a joke. Always empty dishes and no staff to be seen. I don't know how this can go on but yeah, massively disappointed.

I enjoyed my stay here. For a roadside inn, the owners did a good job trying to give the hotel a little extra personality. The self service breakfast room had high quality ingredients. Rooms were on par with other places for the price point.

We have stayed here before on our business trips. Inexperienced front desk with attitude. Not the usual friendly helpful staff we usually encounter at Best Western. We made our reservation directly with the hotel. They lost it, then acted like we were crazy even after I showed them phone history showing time we called. Then pressed call and it rang straight to them. Instead of just saying don't worry we have a room, we got attitude. I asked them to be sure credit card did not get charged twice because I already gave the person who took reservation number. Oh, that would never happen. Well, it did. We were charged check in and check out. Next day I saw it on credit card. Called them. Another person but same attitude. Not possible, no it didn't ... My husband finally got through to her. Charge was eventually taken off. Not staying here again.

We had a very relaxing and comfortable three nights here. Would definitely recommend. Lots of value for the money! Also, quite attractive mexican-style gardens and decor. The breakfast food was fine, although the coffee was terrible. We don't like the TV blasting in the breakfast room, but we just turned it off.

Very dated facility, must be 40 or fifty years old. They did a pretty good job with what they had to work with, as it was clean, and fairly well appointed. Terrible parking, mediocre front desk staff. I would certainly stay elsewhere if I was going to Watsonville again.

The hotel was clean, the room was very comfortable, the staff was warm and friendly. The best and most surprising was an absolutely great, fluffy bed! We both got a wonderful nights sleep. Breakfast was stocked well. A worthy stay!

The stay was better than expected. The pool is heated and their hot tub was amazing. They have extra parking in the back so we can avoid all the traffic in the main parking lot, heaven!!! The check in is simple the clerks are nice and give you useful info verbally as well as in print you just have to pay attention and read. Check out was better just press check out button on the room phone and your done. Oh... the decor was beautiful traditional Mexican colors.

Pulled in late at night after 2 very tough days on the road and could not believe our luck. This place is BEAUTIFUL. Huge room, comfy beds, helpful welcoming staff, whole place is spotlessly clean. And then we walk into the dining room for the complimentary breakfast to be greeted with an amazing quality spread of fresh and hot food that would be charged at $40 anywhere else. So, so impressed.

Check-in was simple, though I kept bothering the young-lady at the front desk trying to figure out small things about the room -- thankfully, she was kind and helped me. One thing we could not fix was the temperature in the room, guests have limited control over the AC which seems unfair given the cost of the stay. The young lady at the front desk even called her manager to inquire about an override, which was not permitted. This is the only reason I marked down my ratings. King sized bed, bedding and pillows were comfortable. Gratis toiletries were pleasant smelling. There was a window in the bathroom that opens/locks closed, which is always nice. Lots of clear cable channels. Beautiful sink that looked like it was from Mexico, so want one for my home! Breakfast the next morning was good, plenty of food to choose from although it was a tight space to navigate with other guests. Areas for improvement: 1) Lack of full control over the AC (HVAC). 2) Hotel was on a busy street so there was some noise, rooms may need more insulation. Could not hear neighbors, and it was packed full.

This hotel is tucked in downtown, so it's a bit cramped parking wise. There is a separate building with suite type units, showers were very small, no tubs. I'm not sure how the main building rooms are set-up, but if your a larger person you won't fit in the shower stall in the separate building! The staff is great, very helpful. Rooms were clean, internet worked fine.

Our stay was easy and comfortable. The decor was charming. The bed excellent. Breakfast wast surprising pleasant. Usually we have to eat out because there is no food available for me. I am limited in the foods I digest. I have to avoid eggs, all dairy and wheat/gluten, among other things.

We were staying at another hotel and it was really bad we then called this hotel and the lady who answered was great and we made a reservation. This hotel was extremely clean and I really appreciated the service from all the staff. The breakfast was great ! Thank you for an amazing stay and we will be back !

Have stayed there many times from March to November. Rooms are always ready and clean. Staff very friendly. The one problem I have is the parking is not the best. If you come back to the Hotel late in the evening, you might not have a parking space, so I try to get back to my room early..

This is the second time we stayed at this hotel, because we stayed here before with a satisfactory experience, and the price was right. The room was very Lysol/air freshener smelling at first, but we quickly get beyond that. The room was comfortable. Because of its city setting and close proximity to the roads, there was a bit of road noise, but not bad. The breakfast provided was very good, but be prepared to find a table as the room is small. I had left my phone charger in the breakfast room, and the woman in charge of the breakfast room found it for me. The front desk people were capable.

I loved the two rooms I stayed in for a three day period. HOWEVER, we were overcharged $92.50 for the first night. Our credit cards were charged and they posted on the days we checked in, but I was awaken at 1am on the third night by hotel staff insisting I go to the office with them because our card was declined. Why did they not contact us before? "oh, your room phone must need maintenance" whaaaaa????. We were accused of having extra quests, having an unregistered dog and billed as such (not true) I contacted the hotel manager repeatedly without any response. I called BW customer service and was given a file #. After a week went by without any response I called again to customer service. " oh, the hotel manager said the case was resolved" whaaaa???? No one told me! I was told there was nothing corporate could do. They are just a go-to between the hotel and the customer. I am a 20 year BW customer and account holder. NOT ANYMORE!

I am so happy that Best Western Rose Garden in Watsonville, CA provides the opportunity for me to travel with my dog, while I am down there supporting my daughter at her competition, and provided breakfast allows me to hit the ground running; however, the room smelled like cleansing chemicals, mold and previous pet odors, with a wet spot on the floor. The manager switched me to a different room with same results. Didn't have the same problem year before. Don't understand why they have carpeting in rooms where they allow pets.

We use this hotel annually, this time the beds were horrible and really exhausted us due to lack of sleep. No clean linen second day also really is unacceptable and should not be something a guest runs into

This hotel wasn't that bad but the pictures of the room were so misleading to what the room actually looks like. The kitchenette is connected to the bathroom which smelled like a dive bar restroom :P bleh. The bed was very uncomfortable and the room had a weird chemical smell to it. It seemed reasonably clean and included the amenities listed in the description. Priced to high for a 2 star hotel.

Strategically located just off Watsonville's Main St. this property offers comfortable and quiet rooms equipped with excellent beds and linens. Parking in the front and back lots can be tight but not impossible. The lobby is dime sized, the staff helpful. Breakfast is more than generous. Lots of nearby dining choices and a breeze to get back on the road, whether traveling north or south. One gripe: the TV in our room had a fuzzy, non-HD picture.

Great stay. Stayed for a wedding. We were shuttled to and from the venue. Breakfast was good. Had a good selection. Bed was very comfortable. Price was very reasonable compared to everything else in the location.

Room was clean especially the beds!! Bathroom was in great shape. The room did not smell like cigarettes at all and the was my worry. I would definitely stay again as well as recommended the hotel! Enjoyed our stay!

Dirty/ripped carpet, breakfast not satisfactory, service poor, location noisy. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I am usually satisfied with Best western properties so this was a real disappointment.

The stay was great except for a lighting issue (flickering) and bed being too firm. I also had trouble finding the HVAC control units because I thought it was on the actual AC itself. In the end, I didn't get any sleep for that night.

Centrally located for easy access to highways. Good restaurants in area. Hotel was average. Bathroom extremely small with curtain tiny shower. Beds were very comfortable. Room was clean. Service was great and very friendly.

Convenient, clean, and easy. Nice continental breakfast which had very expanded protein items) It was really nice for the area in my opinion. Very convenient as in between Santa Cruz/Monterey. Beds were great.

This hotel is in a pretty sketchy area, and had a very unhelpful young man working at the front desk at check-in, but had the perfect suite for the three of us. It's a two-bedroom suite with two bathrooms and was very comfortable. Room was clean, but upholstered furniture was stained and seemed to be the worse for wear. Our room was very close to the street, but noise was minimal. Price for suite was pretty reasonable, and much less than Santa Cruz nearby. Young woman working front desk in the evening was far more helpful and recommended a great Mexican restaurant which we could walk to.

the hotel was clean and in order,value was average .not a great deal since we had to drive so far off the freeway to locate the hotel.the staff was polite but did not give correct directions when asked about local resturants.

Clean, cozy place for a short stay trip to the coastal area. It's close to good eating restaurants, diverse with type of foods. It's about 30 minutes drive to the beaches. We love that there's a microwave in the room to reheat foods!

Stayed here for a night during the Labor Day weekend. When trying to check in, had to wait for about 10-15 minutes while the staff member and a guest were arguing about something (all in Spanish). She finally interrupted the argument and left them aside to check us in but told us our room was not ready even though it was 30 minutes past checkin time. We had also requested a portable crib in advance and they had to arrange to have it put in the room. Our room was on the back side so had to park down the street, around the corner. It was very noisy with street sounds throughput the night. While the room had a small fridge and microwave and all the necessities, the room was on the small side and once we set up the portable crib, it was almost impossible to walk around in the room. This motel allows dogs and there were many of them around and while it is advertised as a "no smoking" facility, there were numerous guests smoking outside their rooms on our way to our room. The breakfast room was so tiny and cramped and it was so uncomfortable to try to eat in there...we were all bumping into each other and our seats were hitting other seats or people, trying to maneuver in the small area. We fed our grandkids as quickly as possible and then went elsewhere. I will look for other options if we stay in this town again.

I suppose to stay on these hotel from Friday September 01, 2017 until Tuesday September 05, 2017. However we got a breaking on our room on Sunday September 03, 2017, they get it from the bathroom window. We got robbed cash, my car keys for 2 cars and some belongings. But out of the bad experience I have to said that Ana Mendoza the front lobby clerk, I was on the front lobby checking out from my 2 free nights and checking the next 2 nights, and then I when on the computer to check what places we were going to visit when my son came to ask me if I had my wallet and if I had to check if I had my money, when I realize that we were robed. Ana right away call the police and after that she gave me a lot of options if we will stay or check out. Also the lady that work on the breakfast room, she always had food and the place clean. Besides the breaking on the room the other bad experience was the importance that the General Manager Ryan Peach, because he only response to my email that I sent on Sunday barely on Tuesday September 05, 2017 about 3:00pm. I would said if you guys choose to stay on these hotel take a wooden stick so you can put on the bathroom windows or something that will look those windows very thigh. Other than that is that the hotel employees are great, my room cleanest was good too.

Good for a short stay - price was a little high for the quality of the area it was located in. I guess it is feeding off the Santa Cruz/Monterey crowd so the price is high even though Watsonville is not a resort type area.

My teenage daughter and arrived at the hotel at 10:00pm and I had to wait 15 minutes outside before a desk person responded to the doorbell. Noise from the street is awful. We couldn't sleep despite using earplugs. Breakfast room is smaller than a room and guests are tripping all over each other. No tables available.

This is a nice clean hotel in the middle of the city. About 25 miles from Monterrey for car week. I would stay there again next year. The room was very clean and comfortable without any problems. Parking is a little limited, but I was always able to find a space.

The hotel location in very convinient in middle of town, the staff was always friendly and helpful. The cost seemed a little high for the room rates, I liked that they offered pet friendly rooms but not all and I stayed in a suit so my dogs weren't allowed in those rooms they had to stay home. Overall very happy with staff, the breakfasts have gotten much better from years in the past. Will stay again.

I wasn't happy I spent over 60,000 points here. I asked for a room away from pets and what did I get??? The room was right next to the doggy pooping park and my window on the ground floor overlooked it, plus there was a dog next door! I'm gluten sensitive and the only thing available was hard boiled eggs still in the shell which were way overcooked and fruit. The dining room was as tiny, at best. About 14 people could be crammed in there. My suggestion to BW is to forget about cost saving measures and open up a room with larger space. That way, we're not eating on top of each other. Also, the online pictures don't reflect the actual size of the pool which is very small in real life. While the bed was comfortable, the carpeting was outdated and very dirty! I'll never stay here again!

Beautiful hotel with very good prices when they have vacancies. That would be the only complaint, is that often times they are booked full for last minute reservations. Although, typically all other surrounding hotels are have no vacancies too. That just goes along with towns along the California Coast.

We stayed here as a midway point between Monterey and Santa Cruz and getting to both places from here was easy. Our deluxe room with two queen beds was roomy enough four the four of us. The room was clean with the exception of a little dust on the nightstand. Breakfast is ok and will get you by in the morning. The Wi-Fi worked well all 3 night there no problems with 3 devices going at the same time. Close to shopping center about 10 minutes away as well as a movie theater and Applebee's. Overall a great stay and a nice hotel.

I stayed two nights the room was comfortable as the bed also my room was next to the main street which can very loud but due able the big disappointment was the breakfast the only thing hot was waffles not hot eggs or sausage bacon and so on I never stayed at a best western plus that didn't just plan to eat out but I would stay here again

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night, passing through from SF to LA. The facilities (pool, aircon, fridge) are all there but are a bit run down. We asked for a roll-away bed but couldn't get one (contrary to many other hotels). Breakfast was complete but too busy. For the 1 night it was fine. I wouldn't stay longer.

Don't believe everything you see on-line about this facility, I thought it was very deceiving. The front desk staff was particularly disinterested in helping or accommodating my request to extend the check-out time to 1 pm. As it turned out, room service did not get to the room until 3 pm!

Our night of arrival we arrived at 9pm. Parking was sketchy. Check in was ok. I was informed my room was down the sidewalk around the corner. Got to our room, and there was a toilet plunger in front of the door. Opened the room, and the bathroom smelled overwhelmingly of bleach. Not hard to do the math. Plunger plus bleach equals bad plumbing. The bathroom had broken plastic on the floor in the corners. The bath wouldn't turn completely to shower, so there wasn't enough water pressure. Room smelled slightly of smoke, but was otherwise ok. Carpet looked dirty, beds were ok. The breakfast room was incredibly tiny and cramped. The fridge with milk and cream cheese in it was locked. Took muffins back to our room, but they were so nasty they were inedible. Went out for breakfast someplace else. Did laundry. Washer ok. Dryer ran for over an hour. The laundry room was locked. Had to have front desk clerk unlock the room to retrieve my still wet laundry. Kids couldn't use the pool because of people smoking pot on the pool deck.

The cleaning staff used our toilet while we were gone. No only that, they used all our toilet paper and did not replace it. The parking is very limited and there is a lot of noise from the very busy street. The hotel, while mostly clean, still has a run-down feel to it. The staff is not rude, but not particularly helpful or professional.

I would say this hotel is just ok. It is one of the nicer hotels in Watsonville. I traveled for business. They do have a free breakfast room which has a good selection to choose from. That is definitely a plus.

We stayed at BW Rose Garden Inn for just one night during a quick trip to the beach and the aquarium. It wasn't very far from Monterey but drastically cheaper than those places to stay actually In Monterey. So, we got a great rate for the night and headed that way. When we first arrived, I was a little put off by how crowded it seemed. Looks can be deceiving, though, because it didn't seem small once we got settled. The front desk clerk was friendly and got us checked in quickly. Our room was right next to the pool and there were even a few tables overlooking said pool so we could eat our dinner out there if we chose. The front desk clerk was great when I asked what beach we could go to that was family friendly and she pointed us to Sunset State Beach which was just ten minutes away and perfect for us to spend the evening at. The pool was small but heated, which was nice with the windy air. It also had a small hot tub that was nice and relaxing. We headed there after the ocean was a bit too chilly for our tastes. The room was very clean and average size for a standard hotel room. The bathroom was nice with high, adjustable shower heads that had great water pressure, too. The bathroom included plenty of places for storage which would be awesome for longer stays. The TV had a great choice of channels, the beds were fine, and we had plenty of extra linens without having to ask. The breakfast was great. It had plenty of choices, including warm offerings like waffles and oatmeal. It was a great meal for us before we headed out to see the aquarium. My only complaint, if I were even to call it a complaint, would be the parking. Luckily we had a spot but I could see how it might be hard to find a place to park your car if you stayed on a Friday or Saturday night (we stayed on a Sunday) and arrived late. From the sign on the front desk, however, it looks like they're aware of the problem and have solutions set up just in case. We would definitely stay there again!

Stayed for a night. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would stay again with no hesitation. Staff went out of their way to help us search for lost jewelry and was always courteous when asked anything.

I've been on the road a lot this month for work. I really like best western because they take pride on presentation and cleanliness. I am on the rewards program for that reason. This location in Watsonville is really nice and its minutes from downtown with lots of restaurants around the corner. Its not that far from the sea either!!!

Best Western is a good hotel and is centrally located between Monterey and Santa Cruz. The rooms were nice and comfortable; however, the carpet looked dirty. I didn't like the sheer curtains; it made it difficult to sleep or change for that matter. No privacy. Parking is horrible. They really need more parking for their hotel. Otherwise, a nice stay.

This was my worst experience with a Best Western Hotel. The staff was non-responsive, rude and insensitive; They failed and refused to clean my room; they failed to fix the dripping air conditioner leaving a large wet carpet; the breakfast ran out of essential items, there was a smoke smell in our room and they wouldn't move us to an equivalent room, but were willing to move us to a lesser room for the same price we were paying; We have stayed here annually over the past 5 years. Never again. They lost our business.

the location was in a neighborhood with a strange entrance into our section,but lovely planting in front of the rooms...The property had a Mexican theme....It was sparkling clean,good products offered

Enjoyed sitting by the pool with the dog. Pleasant to have the rose garden all around, minimum of rules and regulations, just some basic safety stuff. Generally well maintained, very quiet after 10 pm. One nearby barking dog but no noise from the motel itself. Refrigerator/freezer unit very convenient. Coffee bland but no worse than usual at a motel.

Overall this hotel is a good value. Staff is friendly and helpful and the location is good. The bathroom was a little small but adequate. The personal care products were very high quality much better than the usual hotel products.

My family & I reserved our rooms 4 months ahead of time since it was to attend my brother's wedding. The week before our stay we were told one room was cancelled . The staff did poor follow up . Rooms were dirty.

Location was good. Beautiful sunset beach is close. Y and lots of farming to see. Nice alternative to Santa Cruz and more reasonably priced. The coffee options at breakfast were amazing which is very important to me!

Needed to be in area for a 9 a.m. presentation next day. Exterior design very reflective of area. Felt safe traveling alone. Not a place for romance! Noisy area due to major cross streets but needed to be in this location.

I have business in the area quite a bit. I like to stay here because it is out of the craziness of Santa Cruz. The rooms are nice, cozy and the staff is always friendly. Parking is always tight, but that is for any hotel in the area.

This hotel was very clean and comfortable. Staff was incredibly welcoming and accomodating. Breakfast was fantastic and way above continental, even my todldler was pleased. My only complaint is that parking is a little tight, but overall our stay was very satisfying. We will definitely stay here again.

Close to a variety of excellent restaurants, a number withing walking distance. Nice pool and spa. Close to Main Street businesses in Watsonville. A short drive to Santa Criuz and Capitola beach access.

First off, the location is misleading. We viewed photos of the property via another site and it appeared that it was "off the path". Actual location is dead center in the middle of town at basically one of the busiest intersections. If your room is located close to the street as ours was, be prepared to listen to traffic constantly. During our two night stay, horns, sirens, etc. happened on multiple occasions. Parking is cramped and inconvenient. There are two separate lots. If the main lot is full, you have to drive around the block and park on the backside. They do not connect to one another. The actual room is very nice and clean. Bed is comfortable. A minor issue (could be major for some) is that the TV was not working. It would turn on but then it kept shutting off on its own soon after. It was late and not important enough for me to contact anyone, so we just let it be. I would recommend that you find a room away from the stair wells. Each morning was a parade of loud clunking from suitcases. The breakfast service was generally good. Food was sufficient and plenty of options. Both mornings we arrived at the closing end of the window. One minor annoyance from breakfast was the overflowing garbage. There was a woman maintaining the area but it seemed she wasn't concerned with the overflowing garbage. We had to lift the lid to the can off in order to get our trash in both mornings. The flapper was stuck because it was full. The second morning we even saw the woman take the lid off and try to shove the garbage down, instead of just pulling it and placing a new bag in there. Overall, my wife and I were left disappointed. The things listed above by themselves probably would be considered minor but when added together left us feeling like we made a poor choice. Factor in the price of this room and I'd have a hard time believing there isn't something in Watsonville that provides a better experience.

We spent the night here recently on our way to the California coast. This is the sweetest hotel, great location, clean rooms & property. We checked in late and they still had freshly baked cookies & coffee at the front desk. The pillows were fluffy, we got an awesome nights sleep and found a groovy espresso shop just around the corner.

The room was dirty. Good location close to baseball field. Photos of room didn't match condition of room. It was nice the hotel allowed dogs -- and the room smelled like it. Very loud on ground floor.

Charming and fully renovated with unique décor. Very clean, typical breakfast, good internet. However, if stairs are a problem this may not be the place for you. Outdoor staircase to our 2nd floor room did present a challenge for our "aging" knees and hips. Once we made it up the stairs we were not going to venture down again until checkout.

We have stayed before. Wanted s different room, but couldn't secure it even paying ahead of time...but oh well still ok room. Entertainment center was dusty & carpets not fully vacuumed well, but decent.

Room is clean. The breakfast has a usual variety of items, such as boiled eggs, waffles, orange juice and etc. The room is decorated in Spanish style. The whole facility is kind of compacted. Easy to find local dinning places. Staff is polite and courteous.

We arrived Watsonville a little before 9pm after a long drive from Las Vegas and with a tired infant and ready to relax in our room for the weekend. To our surprise, they placed us in a room with very strong odor that smelled like floral chemicals. We noticed it immediately when we walked in. Basically if the smell was powerful for us, I can't imagine what my newborn was smelling. We asked the rep to place us in another room and they said they were sold old, however the last guest didn't check in so they moved us. We didn't get settled in until a little before midnight. They apologized for the smell and said it was a smoke bomb to eliminate any bad odors, but it was too strong and could cause people to get headaches especially infants. Also the carpets were a little damp for some strange reason. Wasn't what we were expecting, but glad they were able to move us.

Just looking for a BW to stay st along our way! Staff checked us in quickly! Great breakfast, but dining area was small and made eating/making breakfast was kind of a pain in the rump! The pool was warm and refreshing!

We booked here as it was a Priceline Express deal, and it meets the standards for this level of hotel, 2.5 stars. The beds were comfortable, the rooms very clean and roomy, and the staff friendly. The air conditioning/heating unit did not allow for a constant fan option, which would have been very helpful to drown out collateral noise. It is not a quiet hotel, and our room was just outside the pool area which did not settle down until after 10pm. The breakfast area was very, very tight with limited breakfast options for our experience with past Best Western hotels. The parking lot was tight, but manageable. As an alternative to higher priced lodging options in Monterey and Carmel, I think this is a fine choice. Be aware of the noise factor, as it's the primary detraction to this option.

I chose this hotel due to the noon checkout time because I was working a venue until late the night of my stay and was exhausted. Well the cleaning staff began pounding on my door shortly after 8 am and didn't stop. Eventually they let themselves in even though I had the "Do Not Disturb" hanger on my door. Then when I went to complain to the front office, they told me somebody had checked me out already of my room. What kind of excuse is that?? Only I should be able to check myself out...not their imaginary made-up person as an excuse.

The motel is rather compact making parking difficult, but there is an overflow lot in the back. We like the location being close to Santa Cruz and Monterey. They allow pets so our dog can travel with us. The breakfast lacked any form of fruit, which was disappointing, though the chocolate muffins were a huge hit. My mother's accessible room had too much furniture with blocked her access to the bathroom. We've stayed before and we may again, but not if my mother travels with us. The rooms are clean and the staff is helpful. The beds are too firm for my family's comfort.

Beds like cement, staff barely spoke English and room had dead bugs! It was $146 a night, way too much for quality! Our room was tucked around behind the office, maybe a former managers break room. We had to walk back out to the road and follow the sidewalk to a back garden gate to find our room. Kinda creepy!!

Stayed for 2 nights with family. Allocated big room with kitchen and private patio. The room is accessed by walking along sidewalk. Room is good size and comfortable. Breakfast is OK. Breakfast room is tiny and gets full very quickly. Pool and spa tub are small. It clean. All in all would stay here again. Good value overall.

We found the Best Western Rose Garden Inn to be a great location. It's very close to Monterey and Carmel and also Santa Cruz. The hotel had a nice swimming pool and hot tub. The breakfast was included and they had a lot of items to chose from. There were restaurants located within walking distance which was also a plus.

I love to stay here. It is close to Monterey, Santa Cruz, beaches and tons of nearby attractions. Reasonably priced and easy to find. Clean and comfortable. Great breakfast, wifi, pool and hot tub. I will be staying there again soon.

Rooms were clean, beds very comfortable, larger size refrigerator in room, pool was nothing fancy but kids and adults had a blast. Breakfast was more than we expected. Stayed for a baseball tournament and wouldn't hesitate staying again when in Watsonville

They ask you to move if they put a loud barking dog in the room next to you when you call the front desk to tell them about a noise issue after 10PM when they say it is supposed to be quiet time. We weren't causing the issue. Dogs should be muzzled if they want to let them stay on the premises.

Hotel was convenient & affordable for our needs. Rooms we small and parking was difficult Gym was very small but adequate for use Spa was clean but very small. Breakfast area was very small and crowded but food and drinks were good

Nice Hotel on busy street, No restaurant at hotel as listed. Rooms were neat and clean but no comfy chair for relaxing. Wood floors squeak so if you are rooming with a light sleeper you wake them up when you walk on the floor. Breakfast had good selection of items, including warm oatmeal in crockpot and breakfast sandwiches you could microwave. Too cool to use the pool but looked nice and clean. Housekeeping does NOT leave toiletries or coffee when you stay over unless you are using what they leave you each day, per the head of housekeeping. So make sure you ask them to leave them if you want them.

I stayed here for a quick business trip. It's the Best Western quality that I count on - clean, well organized, nice staff. In addition, the tile work in the bathroom sink area was pretty and unique - nice touch.

A nice hotel, very comfortable (and quiet) for a couple of nights. Rooms a good size. Nice pool and hot tub. Breakfast pretty basic and breakfast room on the small size. A little off the main routes for the coast but pretty handy.

Stayed here during Monterey car week. Parking can be tight but overall this was a good value for price. It is an older style outside entrance room but has recently been renovated. It is really like new. Mattress and pillows were very nice. I did not eat breakfast there but appeared to be on par with other chains.

This was a great place to stay rooms where very clean had everything in you needed and a pool which was warm hot tub. Place was nice and clean staff was very helpful and the breakfast was really great. We will surely stay there again when we are in that area.

When we checked the pictures online the room looked clean and decent. When we got there room smelled so bad that I had to sleep in my car the first night. Carpet was really dirty. Breakfast was decent and choices are very limited. The hotel is old and needs a lot of updating. Staff members were extremely friendly and helpful.

I was in town for Pebble Beach and everything close to Carmel had been booked months in advance, this was the closest I could find that was not outrageous in price for that weekend. I was pleasantly surprised! The rooms were spacious and very clean. The bathroom looked like it had been recently renovated. The staff was nice. I would stay here again if in the area. Be aware that parking is limited and fills up pretty quick around 9p. There is additional parking on the far side of the property, but it's off another street and does require a bit of a walk. But not bad. My only real complaint is that the A/C is one of the new controls that the median temperature is set by the hotel. You can set it lower, but once it hits that mark, then it automatically resets itself, so the you get warm again and have to get up and run it down again in the middle of the night. Very annoying. If I'm paying for the room, I should be able to set the temp wherever I want it set and it stay there! Breakfast was included and it was a good traditional spread of options.

Loud crack heads slamming door and swearing all night. No hotel security. It's up to the guest to call 911 at $230/night. Requested room ignored and not available on a four night stay booked 9 months in advance. Virginia at front desk does not care. Manager is not available. Toilet doesn't refill. No elevator.

Overbooked in Monterey.... pleased with room.. bed was great.... wish they had an elevator. Not the newest...but very clean and good. Close enough to Moss Landing to have diner a Phil's. Drove the next day to Monterey.

First I checked in had to drive around the black to park which was fine,Got into my room the light didn't work in the kitchen area of fine again. But the reason for my bad review was the bathroom the shower no tube was a 4x4 size I felt claustrophobic in there made it a quick shower the sink was just as bad you stand at the sink and your arms are against the walls. I went down stairs for breakfast and the choices are very limited no eggs potatoes sausage or bacon every best western I have ever stayed at had those options this one did not I left and went out for breakfast. Also the front counter lady was very nice I had a free night voucher which she could not figure out what to do I had to go in three different times for mu two night stay and no one there knew how to do the free night very frustrated with that I will see what happens when I get my credit card statement.

Before I start on the hotel I have to mention the problem with the online booking. I felt I was on Best Western site, searched best western and turns out it was not them it was another hotel booking site. A huge problem with communications, didn't get my reservation, needed multiple calls. Called hotel and they said they have had this problem. Be careful that you are talking to Best Western directly. Hotel was adequate, somewhat noisy if you have a room by breakfast area. Good value for the price. Breakfast was fine. I am giving them a poor rating because of the problems with the online booking sites. Also if you are trying to go back to Santa Cruz area, every day no matter what time it was the traffic was horrible and took forever to reach our destinations. Parking lot got filled up and one night we couldn't find parking in the lot. We were here 3 nights and they didn't refill shampoo or conditioner and housekeeping was at our door every morning at 8 am wanting to clean the room.

This was a wedding trip for a family member. It was not easy reaching the hotel online as all the booking sites seem to jump in. The room was fine, bed not so great, but adequate. Virginia the daytime desk person is fantastic. Evening weekend gent is ok. Overall experience was fine. Bring your own breakfast - that is the one really weak area for a Best Western.

Room served its purpose, but light between beds was not plugged in and cord barely reached outlet and some electric plugs did not work. Attention to detail of of room was lacking as these items are frustrating but not enough to call the front office to have someone come deal with them.

Great hotel, Clean, comfortable, with good restaurants close by, Walking distance, Friendly staff and covered parking for motorcycles. Will stay here again when I'm in the area. Now Tripadvisor is telling me to add more characters. Still not enough.

This hotel was very relaxing. Helpful/pleasant staff. Rooms were decorated nicely and furniture was comfortable. A little noisy since our room was by the pool but to be expected. Great price! I recommend this hotel

Our stay was very pleasant. You get what you pay for but that is a good thing in this case. We weren't expecting luxury, we were expecting a good stay for our family, especially since we were all staying for 3 nights and that is what we got. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and amenities were sufficient (microwave and fridge). The pool was heated which was a very nice surprise because that way, the kids could get in whenever they wanted. I also noticed the pool being serviced every morning (appreciate cleanliness). Our rooms were clean and turned down every evening when we returned. From the front desk to the lady who made sure breakfast was ready, customer service was perfect. Best Western really pays attention to the little things and it shows. The neighborhood wasn't the greatest but while we were at our hotel, we never felt unsafe or uncomfortable.

The Best Western Rose Garden Inn in Watsonville is a nice hotel. It is centrally located and has a very functional breakfast buffet. Across the street is a nice little restaurant and there are several fast food places a short distance away. Parking can be challenging here, but the staff is always friendly and upbeat.

Motel nicely renovated. We were in the back where it was dangerous getting out onto the street, cars parked on either side of the entrance, so hard to see oncoming traffic. Room was so noisy until 2:00 a.m. and as early as 5:00 a.m. that we could not sleep. Left about 6:00 a.m., which was too early for free breakfast. Would not stay again.

Spent a nice, relaxing weekend in Watsonville and Salinas. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and will definitely be coming back for another stay with family and friends. Annie was very nice and helpful checking us in and checking us out. The room was clean and I especially liked the whirlpool.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The beds were comfortable, they allowed pets and had a good variety of breakfast items in the morning. All in all it was a good one night stay. We'll definitely be back.Thanks BW.

My second stay at this property. Positives: GREAT bed! Other amenities are adequate. Breakfast could have longer hours. Coffee in lounge is nice. Very frustrated that they did NOT clean my room on July 3. While I was out of the room between 8;30 am and 4:30 pm, they left a note saying they wanted to give staff a break for the holiday weekend, so let them know what we needed cleaned. Well, I needed clean towels and coffee, which I eventually got, but this was handled so late, and so poorly, I don't know if I'll return. Depends on what else I can find in the area. This is the only real bad thing about the hotel. The beds are good and the rooms are quiet. There's a pool, but I haven't used it. I woke the night clerk to check out at about 6:10 am, and she gave me incorrect directions to the highway. After going in two different circles and finally ignoring her directions completely, I got there eventually. They should have a map or written directions to nearby, relevant highways.

I've been stay in this hotel for the past 8 months, everything has been excellent until someone decided to change the breakfast service time. Usually it was available around 6:30am however they changed it to start at 7am which it is unacceptable specially for the business people that need to work early. Management must consider returning back to the original schedule.

We stayed here twice this year and wouldn't hesitate to return. I first booked this hotel in January, when we had a horse riding trip planned at Mt. Madonna Stables, less than 30 mins away. Because of the rain and muddy trails, the horse riding trip was cancelled. But we kept the hotel reservation and drove over two hours for a weekend getaway. So what were the perks, besides a great price? Here you go: 1) Heated pool 2) Hot tub 3) Free cookies! 4) Next door to Super Taqueria!! Whoohoo, hello delicious tacos!! So instead of a lovely horseback riding trip, we had a great time swimming in the evening, soaking in the hot tub, and eating tacos in the room. We had the pool area all to ourselves. It stopped raining, and the weather was nice. The room was clean with a cute Spanish style. The bathroom was super tiny, but not a deal breaker. We stayed again in March, when our horse back riding trip was rescheduled. This time our room had a much bigger bathroom, yay! This bumped up my rating to 5 stars. Again, we enjoyed Super Taqueria and the pool. The beautiful flowers surrounding the hotel also makes it easier to pretend you're somewhere tropical. :-) I also have to give a HUGE thank you to one of the workers at Best Western Rose Garden Inn. My husband left his truck door wide open in the parking lot (really, was he that excited and forgot to close the door, hah!), but a worker saw and chased us to let us know that he closed the door and we should go lock up. Wish I got his name. If you're on a budget and looking for a clean room, heated pool, friendly service, yummy cookies, and great Mexican food next door, this is the place to stay!

The setting and grounds are attractive, Our family suite with 2 bedrooms worked well for 2 teenagers. Friendliness of staff could be improved. Stairs and railings were sticky and had spills over the three days we were there. Breakfast offered a good variety of choices, but only one day out of three was a water pitcher provided.

I just wanted to write a review on how cozy my room was! bed and pillows were great! its perfect for an quick nights rest! i will def be back! pool was a little small but it was perfect for the kids, very clean and updated

The room was average, but the quality of fixtures and fittings a bit low, and maintenance poor. The attitude of the hotel staff was unfriendly, and their rules, obviously set by the manager, were inflexible, and rigid. Did not leave the ability to accommodate their differing guests requirements.

Stay here for a night, this hotel has a nice, spacious, and clean room. I love the interior design of the room. It has nice big comfy bed, clean bathroom even it's a bit small. They provide coffee maker & large refrigerator too in each room. Air-con was okay but it's kinda noisy. They provide breakfast where you can make your own waffle. Not bad. Overall this hotel was okay and great.

Our room was very comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was in working order! We had a very comfortable stay. Parking was confenient. The contenental breakfast food was okay but the area was very small for the volume of people using the area.

We booked a few months before our stay and that is the best way to get a room at this cute hotel. The hard working, sweet, employees are and will always be my favorite part of this hotel. We stayed here in the past and they have really worked out all the kinks. We even used the pool and enjoyed other people who were staying at the hotel. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, just a very nice stay over all.

This hotel was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at. I has an outdoor pool and hot tub. We were upgraded to a king suite the next day and was absolutely beautiful. If had 2 rooms the king room had a fireplace and jetted tub the other room had a queen bed with a sitting area that included a love seat. The hotel is a Spanish theme hotel, the pool and hot tub where updated and clean. Will come back here for sure.

We were not impressed with this Best Western. Room staff kept turning off air conditioner and did not leave replacement shampoo, etc. We stayed 4 nights and ran out of items and had to go to lobby to ask for shampoo and lotion, unacceptable. Breakfast was ok but staff working there were not helpful.

will defintely stay again,we go visit friends about 2 times a year and always stay in the same location,its very nice and comfortable we recommend it to our friends and family a gym addition would be very nice,maybe you will consider that

Good hotel, room was nice with a very comfortable bed. Room was in the back on the 2nd floor with no exterior noise. Breakfast room was cramped but they had a good selection of food for a continental breakfast. Desk staff directed us to a great place for lunch the California Grill which had fantastic food.

Rose Garden Inn was a delight. I could tell right away we would love this place. Blooming flowers everywhere enhanced the lovely Mission style property. Although filled we enjoyed a quiet, restful night's rest in our pretty and very comfortable room. We will put this place on our favorites list!

Booked A KING ROOM for 2 nights by phone directly with the hotel. We arrived late in the evening. We dragged our belongings in the rain to the far side of the hotel.We were given a DOUBLE ROOM! The room was small and dark. I immediately went back to the desk and was told there was some kind of miscommunication in the booking, but there were no KING ROOMS available. I said that I wanted to speak to the manager and was told he would be in the next day and that the issue would be noted and the manager informed. We had a family reunion to attend the next day,but by 1pm we had not heard from the manager and never did!!! The room itself was small,dark, had a noisy frig and a dirty iron that left marks on my clothes. It seemed that all the cleaning staff did a meet and greet outside our room every morning as we were on the back side of the hotel.To top it off, when I went to relieve my dog I found A DEAD RODENT in the relieving area!!!! Will never stay here again!!!

Clean, pretty rooms. Excellent staff and service. Warm cookies and hot chocolate served in the lobby in the evenings. Down side was when we checked in the clerk went over a list of 'rules' for the hotel with us, such as 'no parties', 'quiet time is 10pm', and list of what things cost if they are stolen from the room. Made us very nervous as to what we were getting ourselves into. There were also people hanging out on the balcony's staring into the parking lot every time we left our room.

This is a cute and well-maintained hotel. The price was very good. We were heading to Monterey and wanted a clean, simple place to spend the night. The Best Western Rose Garden Inn was perfect for our needs.

Great weekend of races in California, first night Watsonville the track was so so, organization very suspect but in all races were solid. Traveled north the Chico, boy they know how to put on a show! Chico staff, track, amenities you name it was legit! Great experience at Chico, if you like Dirt racing and the World of Outlaws, Chico is a must!

We arrived in the wee hours, very tired. The receptionist was exceptional. The room is cute with a little fridge and microwave. The bed is very comfortable. Parking a bit of a challenge but not too impactful.

Large, clean room. Excellent wifi service. Quiet. A little difficult to find but no highway noise. Reasonable, but limited motel breakfast. Parking was tight but we found a space each night. A very nice stop right in the middle of Watsonville.

My surprise of this week on the road is this BW. Couldn't tell if it was new and made to look seasoned or an older property impeccably maintained--no matter. VERY clean Spartan rooms with a frig and microwave, STRONG WI-FI (thanks BW for listening!) and spotless bathroom. Used the laundry area and the fitness room (weight machine--thanks BW for listening!) Popular with workers in the area; regrettably heard the big trucks fire up early. Rooms near ice machines do not filter out their use--beware. Breakfast was fundamental; something for everyone. I will use them and other BWs again!

This was a one night stay to break up a very long drive.Best western did not disappoint. We were meeting friends in Santa Cruz for dinner ( 14 EASY miles away) so we didn't get a chance to eat in Watsonville but will explore next time thru. You have many good choices close by.Any UCSC parents out there stay here save some money on Santa Cruz hotel prices. Easy access to highway and easy to find. Busy traffic at the normal peak drive times,then it's very sedate. Our room was clean and comfortable and the front end staff friendly and helpful. Will stay here again. Parking was not a problem there is an overflow lot around the corner if you leave and come back late well lit and safe.

We've been using Best Western Rose Garden Inn for 15 years to come down to the beautiful sea shore at Moss Landing. We love the area and enjoy the stay at the Inn and the surrounding restaurants and activities that are available in the area.

The overnight in this room was really nice. Everything was in working order and clean. We stayed in a carpeted pet room and you couldn't even tell a pet had been there before. We were greeted by a lovely young lady who was very sweet. The only problem was that the heated pool was not heated. I'll blame that on all of the rain they've been having in that area. Loved the charm of the bathroom sink.

An unreal story. The power went out the first night...my room had power, but no wireless, no breakfast. My team were in other rooms and had no power period. We check out the next day with a request that we be charged for one night (the night we slept there) and that was it...We only slept there one night and the lights were still not on Monday (we had reserved a three night stay. The manager had the gall to say we had wireless with 2 of the 3 who had no electricity at all, and my room had NO WIRELESS...none nada. He lied right to my face, acted nervous and then charged me for a night when I had already checked out. Do not stay in this hotel!

We spent the weekend in Santa Cruz but wanted a cheaper hotel for our family of 7. We had stayed before in Watsonville so we knew the fares would be a little cheaper. Found this Best Western with favorable reviews online. So we purchased and were not disappointed. The beds were comfortable, the rooms cozy. We purchased two rooms and let our teenage daughters stay in it while my wife and I stayed in the other one. Pool and hot tub were great to use in the morning. Breakfast was adequate (nothing to write home about) but it made due. Overall a very good experience. Would stay there again.

I really like this room. We checked in late but luckily there is a restaurant across the street. Our room was right beside the pool and hot tub which we liked. The room was a little crowded but the decor was so pretty I didn't mind. Beds were comfy. In room coffee wasn't great but the breakfast room coffee was better. Breakfast was basic continental.

A practical place to stay. The king bed and pillows in room 253 was very comfortable. We stayed in a room with a kitchenette and unless you are going to use it don't choose this room! The shower was SO tiny (no bathtub either) you can not get out from under the running water to suds up or shave your legs. I didn't know they made a shower this small except for maybe an RV. The kitchenette is very dated and nasty enough that I wouldn't have used it if I needed to. Best Western needs to do some serious updating! Otherwise, if you are looking for a practical place to stay for a decent price it will meet your needs. The staff was friendly too.

Extremely noise from the outside. Room window and door do very little to block any sound from outside. The room was facing the street. Fellow guest are not loud but I can still hear sound from the outside. Staff is decent. Parking is bit crowded.

We needed a place to stay on our way to Carmel, after arriving by plane in San Jose in the evening so chose Rose Garden based on TripAdvisor reviews. Our rate was about $100 (king room after Aarp discount). We expected more due to both the rate and the reviews. The good news: the check-in person was friendly; the motel is attractive; the room was clean and the bathroom sink area cheerful and very attractive; the night was very quiet; the hotel has a fitness room; it also serves a free breakfast. The other news: the check-in process itself was very unfriendly and seemed oriented to reminding you of hotel legal policies and procedures; we had not been warned in advance (in spite of a reservation reminder email message) that TV cable service would be unavailable for many channels (we were told it would be restored later in the month); while outdoor noise was quiet, the room refrigerator made a loud hum that pierced the night; breakfast was adequate but did not include some normal breakfast fare (such as oatmeal in any form); the "exercise room" equipment was okay but the bathroom was in total disrepair and not fit for use; the bed was soft enough hat I had some lower back pain after arising. Though off Route 1 for a ways, the hotel is fairly convenient. We obviously were glad we arrived late and checked out after breakfast in the morning. We would not have stayed a second night but it was okay for our quick-in, quick-out stay.

This place is in a very good location with shopping and restaurants all around you. We enjoyed the restaurant across the street called Yesy's had great food and great prices. The next morning we had breakfast at the Country Cowboy restaurant which is just down the street from Best Western.

Everything was great, no problems. Staff was very helpful, plus the suite room had everything you could possible need, even had a clothes line in the tub/shower area. I liked that it had two rooms with beds and 1 1/2 bathroom. Breakfast was good and had a nice selection. The location was good, but on a busy street which did seem to quiet down after 10pm.

Worth the price, good location near shopping malls, restaurants and downtown, nice restaurant right in front of the hotel. Breakfast good enough for a traveler, good coffee, waffles, sandwiches, fruits, yogurt and juices. Second floor rooms are the best, very quiet and comfortable. Parking space limitations, not too many spots, most of parking spots reserved for compact cars.

Stayed on Dec. 3 for one night. Great room, very comfortable. Quiet areas even on the main floor. Breakfast was awesome! Great choice of breads, muffins, yoghurts, waffles, bulk cereals, fresh juices, hot beverages... Highly recommended hotel!

We really like coming to this hotel - it is not a luxury hotel, but the rooms are nicely decorated, clean, well-appointed, and fairly spacious. Love having a pool, and good breakfasts, with real (hard boiled) eggs, along with all kinds of cereals, muffins, waffles, and really GREAT coffee! Staff persons are very friendly and helpful. Location is great - situated in Watsonville, between Santa Cruz and Monterey. We'll definitely come back.

I stay twice a year for the Goat Hill Antique show and we fill the hotel with staff, vendors and guests for that weekend. It has always been and continue to be the only hotel we recomend in Watsonville, CA. I highly recomend the hotel for its comfort, service, cleanliness and amenities.

Our group books the majority of the Best Western rooms 2 weekends a year. Our vendors appreciate the breakfast, the housekeeping staff, warm cookies and beverages in the office. Had issues with the internet this past visit but normally no issues. Cute place in great location for our event.

Our room was really nice and because of our pet the room was in the back of the hotel... The breakfast was very nice and warm where it was supposed to be warm and cool where it was supposed to be cool Overall experience was very good.

Pet rooms are away from other guests... very private and quiet, so we didn't need to worry about our dogs reacting to noise. The decor in the room was also very nice with lovely tiles in the sink area.

We stayed four days at the BW Rose Garden Inn this Oct. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was always good. The location is really convenient for traveling to Monterey and Santa Cruz. My only complaints are very minor (parking was a little difficult and there is only one washer/dryer for laundry). Overall I would return for a nice hotel at a decent price.

We usually have very good luck with Best Western hotels. We stay at this one while our friends stay at KOA Halloween camping. We prefer to stay at this hotel only 10 minute drive away. This hotel has been very nice, stayed there two different years. The grounds are well kept, nice pool--but never used it, great continental breakfast options, very clean rooms and great service..

This is an average hotel. Because of the location (not in Santa Cruz, but close) and apparently due to area activity, it was outrageously priced. We have stayed in equally nice hotels for a third the price. That said, rooms were acceptably clean, plentiful pillows, slightly above-average breakfast options. HVAC system was not great (didn't cycle often enough to keep room from getting stuffy), front desk staff was clearly bored out of their minds and gave no more than a rote greeting. Location is within striking distance of many, many Mexican restaurants and grocery stores. There are lots of state beaches nearby.

we went to Watsonville to visit our daughter and granddaughter. the hotel was perfectly situated. it was quiet and clean. the beds were comfortable and we loved the bathroom. the front desk personnel were very helpful as well.

The hotel rooms and grounds are well maintained. The rooms are quiet and the beds are firmer than most places at which we have stayed. We were very happy with our stay. Watsonville has a small town feel to it. We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood early in the morning. The catholic church is just across the street and is lovely. Although we aren't catholic, we went inside it to view the beautiful stained glass windows. We recommend this hotel.

The decor was California-Spanish - tiles and such. Clean and comfortable. We stayed one night. Mattress was good, clean bathroom and they have a dining area for breakfast that surprised us with all the options - hardboiled eggs, cereals, juices. Very good

Great hotel near downtown Watsonville. Clean rooms, friendly staff; park for dog walking 1 block away. Good family restaurant across the street. Minimum AC temp is set too high for good sleeping unless you like a warm room. We had a 2BR, 2BA deluxe room - it was a really nice room, very clean.

was very good and is highly recommended, we would like to stay there again and again .The plant despite the near highway was very quiet and the pool was very nice and clean .we like to stay at a Best Western and I have to say is one of the most beautiful on our Travel were very surprised.

Very nice with a clean room and amenities ready available. Was a pleasure after staying in an inferior motel earlier. The motel is located to easily get back on Highway 1. The room price was very good and well worth the price. We enjoyed the separate breakfast room.

Nice clean room near the pool. Had a small issue with the TV but the staff soon had it fixed. Not a large property but comfortable. A very Spanish styled property. A good sized breakfast room for the free buffet breakfast. I would stay here again but Watsonville is not on everyone's map. Outside access with two floors.

We had a great stay that this motel. It was clean, staff was polite and helpful, breakfast was much better then your usual continental breakfast. They offered bagels and waffles along with hard boiled eggs and yogurt. The area was not that great, but the motel made up for it. We were here so we could be close for a football game of our daughter. I would recommend this motel.
