Sure Hotel by Best Western Ojaby Herrgard

I stayed here almost a week to visit the city and some friends nearby. The hotel is a bit out of the way, close to the airport, but still easy enough to reach by bus or bike. My room was bright and clean, and the bed was fine. The little entry area with a wardrobe has some space for luggage. There is no fridge in the room, but guests can use a lounge with a small kitchen and refrigerator. The bathroom was ok, though the shower cabin is really narrow – bigger guests might struggle with that. There would have been enough space to plan it differently. Also, room keys instead of key cards felt a bit old-fashioned, with only a card for the entrance after reception hours. The spa area was alright: a whirlpool, sauna and a relaxation room. Clean enough, but not exactly new. Works fine if you're alone or with one more person, but more than that would feel crowded. The bikes roll, but they have no gears and are really only good for short trips. The restaurant was good, but without a reservation it's tricky to get a table. Less because of seats, more because of food availability. I get not wanting to waste food, but turning down extra guests feels odd. Breakfast was ok, just a bit repetitive after a few days. Staff was always friendly and helpful, also beforehand – there was quite a bit of back and forth with my booking (due to my own travel plans), and they handled it patiently. All in all, an average stay – nothing major to complain about, but also not much that stood out.

The hotel is located at some distance from the city centre in a residential area with a rural character. Nice rooms with comfortable beds, professional and helpful staff and a good breakfast. The stay was an overall pleasant experience.

Sadly this hotel sets rather low standards and failed to live up to them. The room was not that clean and seemed like something between a hostel and a hotel with cheap ikea furniture that had seen better days. The shower was so small I had to open the doors to soap myself and I am really quite average in size. The common room was full of empty beer and wine bottles in the morning bearing witness to a mid week party the night before by some guests that evidently had more fun than I did trying to sleep. The front door was broken so that I couldn't get back in after breakfast and the staff were two seemingly teenaged girls that were untrained in service. On the plus side the breakfast was reasonable and parking was free. At this price point and having stayed in Best Westerns before I would have expected better.

Reserved the delux room. Not very luxurious. We had a bit of trouble to start with. We're on a road trip around Sweden and so have been booking places to stay on the day. We booked this one a few hours before, so we understand that problems can happen last minute. When we turned up, the hotel was fully booked even though we'd paid for the room already through Hotel Specials. The hotel managed to squeeze us in as a couple hadn't turned up. The chap who served us first wasn't the friendliest and we were made to feel a burden. The room itself was as basic as you can get. Clean enough except for the silver fish! There was no kettle in the room, which is not alot to ask. There is a little communal kitchenette. We made the mistake of assuming that they have cooking utensils. They don't. But we were able to make a cuppa at least. Breakfast was fine. The dining room a bit tired. The receptionist/owner was friendly and kind. She had to sort out Hotel Specials as they'd obviously cocked up. So all in all. Was fine.

Bad experience ever , Room temperature was hot as we entered, we ask fan or Aircondition from staff, sorry we don't have, just open window,staff said we have only 3 fans in hotell, those are already occupied... When we opened windows mosquito came inside in Room ..... no fridges inside to store children milk etc. very disappointed about facilities etc etc.

The room feel like a Hospital. I have stay at many hotels but this was one of the worst. The only good thing was the breakfast. It hade more than I expected. The location of the hotel was beautiful. But I won't stay there again.

The hotel is conveniently located on a quiet spot close to the airport. However, the hotel turned out to be a converted care home for the elderly and was not suited for the two young children in our company. Most of the guests were elderly and there were no facilities for kids. Therefore we cut our stay short. We compliment the hotel staff for their understanding and their cooperation in arranging a refund of the unused part of our booking. On the positive side, we liked the family room with an adjoining bedroom for the children. Our own room was rather basic, but clean.

Exquisite food experience, also very serviceminded and friendly staff. Unfortunately we expected a DeLuxe room, but it turned out to be Basic, but as for sleeping experience it was a cozy bed. You also could lie in your bed zapping between tv-channels

Brilliant hotel. Top service and an amazing staff. The location was serene, clean and very welcoming. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure my family was comfortable, especially the kids.

Perfect stay at nice, charming hotel with perfect service. a bit outside Växjö but close to the airport in a quite area. I managed to go jogging upon arrival on a nice cycle path. Sauna and swimming pool are at disposal of the guests in the afternoon and evening but I did not use it. The food at the restaurant was excellent. the daily suggestion was superb, the cook accepted my request for extra vegatables.

We decided for a one night stay with the family in the last minute. Sure hotel was the only one available offering a family room (4people). On top of that, we got access to the relax pool and sauna and even the kids got bath robes (one size). The room was simple but clean and functional. The beds were comfortable. The evening meal was nice but way too salty. Even pasta crazy son did not manage to finish his pasta...

We spent a very warm summer night here. The room under the roof were very warm choose another room on a hot summer night. We had to keep the window open all night. The hotel, restaurant and Spa were very good and can be recommended.

I love staying at this friendly hotel. The staff are always so polite, helpful and professional. It's very close to Växjö Småland Airport however its not central but in a very safe peaceful area. Bus number 4 runs about every 15 mins into town, alternatively towards the airport. The spa/relax area is a great place to unwind before dinner. There's a sauna and a jacuzzi in there which was nice free to guests of course. Monday to Thursday I can highly recommend the evening buffet served from 18.00 only 165kr for hotel guests and half price for children under a certain age. The chefs definitely know what they are doing, food was well seasoned and full of flavor! My 7 year old son loved the food! I would like to say a special thank you to Jo Jo from the restaurant who was amazingly helpful and friendly. She made us feel very welcome during our stay and went the extra mile to keep guests happy Breakfast had a great selection and was delicious. Looking forward to our next stay!

My wife and me spendt one day and night at Öjaby Herrgård in may 2017. The rooms are dated, and our feeling was that Öjaby Herrgård are mostly for conference guests. We had an 5 dishes dinner and it was OK, but not more. They had a nice collection of wines, but you could only buy them by glas, not a bottle. Viggo DT Strömstad.

My stay was booked by a company who decided to be stingy and book me into a single room. These rooms are not at all like in the pictures on their website! They are super tiny with small beds. They don't come with things that I'm used to, like a fridge or more than one set of towels or a luggage rack. There is no space to unpack your stuff. The walls are super thin and you hear your neighbor's every breath. I had such an interrupted night's sleep and woke up at 4:30 am from my neighbor's snoring (?) Or grunting, anyways from some weird sound and once before that because I keep hitting my poor elbow in the wall because there's no space in these rooms!! The breakfast was average. The staff seem nice. I would not recommend this place, feels like a hostel.

Fantastic dinner, excellent breakfast, nice attentive staff. Used a double room and the bed was great. Just out at the airport near Växjö so one does not have to find parking in town etc. Highly recommended!

Mostly single rooms in wings. Only double rooms are in the main building - dated and tired. Restraurant served a very nice dinner and the breakfast was all there.
