Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven

What a gem of a place. Historic motel with spacious clean and nicely appointed rooms (fridge, micro, coffee maker, tv, wifi) pet friendly with nice green area to walk, swimming pool, breakfast included and friendly staff. Several restaurants near by. So glad that someone put in the time/energy/funding to restore this place. Will absolutely stay here on my next visit to the Springfield area.

Heard a semi automatic gun shooting in the middle of the night and saw a guy stretching with a gun in his hotel doorframe. Ended up calling the police. When we talked to the lady at the front deck and showed her a video of the gun shots while she was talking to another guest she said it was a car backfiring. She would because her boyfriend has a truck that does it. The other guest standing there said it was a gun. Ended up having to pack up and get to family gathering and called back to ask for a refund. She decided to lie more and tell me that the police were on site when the gun shots happened and they were there for a silver alert. I ended up calling corporate. Love the Jacuzzi but will never stay there again. I do not recommend.

Good location that's was close to many attractions. Area is pretty quiet. The room was clean and the staff is friendly. We had a dog and the green area was in a good spot from room. A good selection for breakfast.

We loved the neon lights. The inside of the rooms are very clean and updated. Loved the parking by your door. Nice property grounds. Close to many tourist attractions. Hotel lobby has a classic feel to it. Nice gas pumps out front adding to the atmosphere.

This city is the 1/2 point for our trip to Texas. This is our 3rd time to stay in this hotel. We enjoy the cars, gas pumps, and decor that remind us of an earlier era. The king room is small, but sufficient for our needs. Everything was clean and the staff friendly. It is a good value.

Good overall experience! We didn't know the King, Elvis Presley (and his mother) stayed here. The rooms were clean and the service was good. This hotel was more rustic, like an old Route 66 motel...which it still is. I would visit this facility again in the future, for any Springfield, MO trips.

Stay was nice. Got in real late, and had to leave early. Nice classic feel. Has some old vintage cars and decorations to add to the experience. There is a light for the entire room instead of just small lamps, so that is a big plus if that is something you are looking for as well.

Great place to just get away staff are awesome and rooms are always clean. We stay here everytime we choose to just get away. It's easy access to everything. The hot tubs are nice. It's a pet friendly place as well

Very clean, but rooms are small. I have two little dogs and difficulty walking. Parking is right next to the doors of the rooms and easy to unload belongings from car to room. Large expanse of grass area right out the door for the dogs to exercise and relieve themselves. Very private and quiet. It was a very convenient and enjoyable stay. Perfect for out needs. Friendly, helpful staff.

There was cockroches the beds was uncomfortable the noise was terrible there was drunk kids screaming everywhere you couldn't sleep bc people were knocking on our door service was terrible wouldn't stay here ever again

I enjoyed my first stay here so much a booked a room for the return trip. Staff was very friendly at both check in and check out, and the hotel has some Route 66 heritage. Had no issues with the AC, wi-fi, or the fridge (that my second room came with). The restrooms appeared to be recently updated. I would recommend this stop to other Route 66 travelers.

I've always wanted to try the Best Western Rail haven. I always thought it looked like a neat place to stay. I wasn't disappointed, it has the old gas pumps and cars and the nostalgia of route 66. I like the drive up rooms, I feel I have more privacy that way, and if I forgot something in the car, it's right outside the door. We enjoyed the biscuits and gravy for breakfast and eating it outside. For as busy as the streets are, the room was quiet and we had a nice stay. The bed was comfortable and the microwave and fridge are helpful.

Nice idea of an old motel but still needs an upgrade. Staff were not very pleasant. I have to say I cannot understand why people rave about it. Unfortunately I don't think we would stay there again unless it has a major renovation. Disappointing

We have stayed here twice in the past month, and have reservations again at the end of October. The hotel staff is so friendly and helpful...something not found a lot anymore. The rooms are a little on the smaller side but still met our needs. It is pet friendly, which is another plus, although we didn't have our fur babies with us. And for the price, you can't beat it! Highly recommend this hotel if you are in the Springfield MO area.

Classic route 66 motor inn awesome staff. Wild bill suite is amazing and worth the cost. Have stayed here over 4 times in the last 3 months for work. I keep picking this motel because of how awesome it is.

I have used this hotel when in Springfield, Missouri for over 60 years. Of course there have been many changes over the years (absence of the long missed Sycamore Restaurant) but now the historicity of it's location on Route 66 as well as it's convenient access to the many Springfield attractions makes it the absolute BEST VALUE.

Really enjoyed staying in this motel, especially as we were in the Elvis Room (409), and it was my birthday. The room is the same one that Elvis and his mum stayed in in 1956, so really iconic…and just loved the ‘Pink Cadillac' bed. Breakfast was basic but you could have as much as you wanted, and was more than enough for us. You can also take as many bottles of water as you want, which we haven't always been able to do in other hotel chains. All in all a really enjoyable visit.

This motel was such a wonderful trip back in time. With all the vintage decor and retro colors, I felt like we had traveled back to the 50's. Loved it. The rooms were clean and comfortable too. And if you want 'real' coffee, walk a short distance to Brick and Morter coffee house. I wouldld recommend this motel.

Cute, quaint motel on Route 66. Fun stay. Loved the old pictures showing what it looked like in the early days. We loved staying at a motel that was on Route 66. It was a nice feature to be able to park right in front of our room.

We stayed here one night for a fast honeymoon. This place went above and beyond to make our night special! The staff were the sweetest ladies ever! The place was super clean! We got the western theme room and that tub was amazing!! ( And big enough for 2) Will definitely be back!

What a wonderful vintage destination. Centrally located in the city and a helpful staff. The pool area was bigger than I anticipated and even had a hot tub. The rooms were clean and the continental breakfast is good with several things to choose from.

Business trip, incredible staff, impeccably clean, couldn't be more pleased. Just a wonderful experience. Sophia was wonderful at check in and explained the motel's history. Meet the grounds manager Charles and he added info was well. When I saw Charles during my stay he was such a positive and professional young man. Great ambassador for the hotel and Best Western. Very pleased with my stay and I will definitely be back!

If you want to experience a little history this is the place!! This is not a fancy new hotel, but it is very nice. It has been bery well maintained and has been kept up to date while keeping the historical charm. We loved the decor in the rooms and around the motel. The beds were very comfortable, the linens were clean and soft, the rooms were clean and well decorated. We stayed on the 4th of July and barely heard the fireworks, and with the blackout curtains we slept very well.

It is an old motel that is very well maintained and very clean and quiet The theme rooms are something every person should see Parking at your door on most rooms makes getting your luggage into your room very easy

The Route 66 history was what initially drew me to the property. We arrived two hours before check-in time and instead of sending us packing to while away a couple hours, Front Desk member Ashlynn allowed us to change in to our swimsuits in the available bathroom so we could enjoy the pool until our room was prepared. Ashlynn then recounted some of the motel's history, particularly some accounts of Elvis' stays in ‘56 and ‘57. To cap off some of the best customer service I've received in years, a second team member , Tawnie, offered to let us peek at the ‘Elvis' suite, which my daughters absolutely loved! First class culture at this motel! Friendly, helpful and incredibly courteous! Five stars from me!!!

The staff was friendly and know their jobs. The rooms were clean. The breakfast was very good. I will be back this year visiting family and will not consider another hotel. In the past I stayed at a competitor. No more.

Very clean room but very small. No where to really sit except 1 desk chair. The mattress was horrible, way too soft and we both woke up with our backs hurting. The water pressure was awesome. I had high hopes for this historic place but it truly fell flat. Not worth the money at all!!!!!

Stayed two nights at property. In initial guest room, thermostat did not work which required manual turn on/off of heater. When turned on, heater ran continuously and room would get very hot — when turned off, room cooled very quickly. Very frustrating — especially in the middle of the night in January! Requested and was somewhat reluctantly granted another guest room for second night — thermostat worked fine but initial warm-up of room upon arrival took approximately an hour. Also of note, bed area of both rooms would heat up — bathrooms were both quite chilly as heat did not reach them. Aside of the heating issues, guest rooms were clean and as expected for a mid-level motel. Parking lot is very well lit and felt safe when arriving to room late at night.

Old style motel with some lovely heritage pieces in the reception area. Our room was fine and very quiet. The TV only received one channel, not a problem as we were not there to watch TV, but perhaps taking the heritage thing a bit far! The motel is on a main road but there's not a huge choice of places to eat within walking distance. We asked for recommendations of where to go and were given two. One had closed down and the other was a rib place that had run out of ribs. Breakfast was provided. There was a reasonable choice and making your own fresh waffles was fun.

This room has a huge tub that is supposed to be a jacuzzi, but the jets don't work. Our t.v. and fridge and phone didn't work either. It was late after we ate dinner and tried to use the jacuzzi and we called the front desk (with our cell phone) and they offered to switch rooms, but it was 8.30 so we decided to stay where we were. I wonder if the coffee maker will work.

We stayed here because my son had a hockey game vs MSU. It was right around the corner from the rink. Close to restaurants, shopping, and a great craft brewery ( Tie and Timber). Amazing price, tasty breakfast, clean comfy room, and nice staff. Can't ask for more!

Our stay was perfect! The decor was on point. The staff was friendly. The room was clean. Breakfast was great. We want to come back and do a photo shoot here. The classic cars were a great touch on route 66.

This place is a hidden gem! Love its Route 66 history, super clean, great value, well lit, and updated pet friendly rooms. This will be our “go to” place anytime we are traveling through the area. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great overall experience!

I always stay at this hotel when visiting my daughter at Evangel University. It's clean, updated, and the proximity to Evangel is great! Staff are always friendly and helpful! It's not a luxury hotel - but I always have good stays and sleep great!

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very kind and attentive. The rooms were clean and we had enough towels for everyone. Everything in both rooms worked and the Television was easy to use and even had a guide to follow. We will stay here again. The beds were comfortable. We were surprised at the 1.7 rating. This is an old school Best Western but had all we needed.

A motel for the ROUTE 66 aficionado but NOT for a light sleeper. Had wanted to check this off on my "ROUTE 66 TO DO LIST" and glad I did, Front desk an easy check-in and the room, to start, was comfortable and clean and WOULD HAVE BEEN a nice evening stay until the TV (remote) did not work. Front desk person tried their best to remedy this minor problem (apparently the TV service people had jsut been in the last few days.....really???) After a long while I was moved to another room which was nice but a bit of a bother. Bed was comfortable and all the amenities were quite pleasant. Until the middle of the night. On this particular Thursday night (actually around 2 to 3 a.m. Friday morning) Glenstone Avenue became a racecourse for ignorant and disrespectful drivers with load motorcycles and junky cars using tomato cans for their mufflers. I did not stay for their breakfast which looked like it would be served in a Route 66-themed cafe setting. This stop has been checked off my list and I will certainly NOT be returning.

My daughter and I stayed 1 night. It was perfect for what we needed for our overnight getaway.Very satisfied with location and price. We will definitely stay again next year if we attend event again..

I do not write reviews often, unless the place truly made an impact on me (either positive or negative.) I drove to Missouri for NADD National Championship (dog things) this past week from Washington DC. On arrival to the hotel I previously booked they told informed me they overbooked (1030pm) and had no room for me. I scrambled and stumbled upon a less than sanitary hotel for that night. During the event several people recommended this Best Western. I arrived at 11am and spoke with Sandy. She not only had a room available for me, but also allowed early check in and advised me of the waived pet fee and discounted rate for the event. The check in was smooth, I was looking forward to taking a shower and taking a nap after a LONG night. Walking into the room I was blown away by the cleanliness and room in general as well as the amenities. Also note, the breakfast available in the morning is hot and delicious. When I checked out, Sandy was again at the desk and the process was easy. This Best Western turned my trip around for the better, thank you Sandy! If we return next year, this hotel will absolutely be my first choice.

It was clean but if staying here you may want to stay on back side of motel. We had a lot of traffic noise throughout the night & morning. Apparently a very busy road. The bathroom sink was in with the toilet & tub area which is already a very small area so was not a fan of that.

Nice hotel in a convenient location near many amenities. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The lobby is filled with route 66 memorabilia which gave it a flavor of the old route 66 in its heyday. We did not make it to the free breakfast, but it looked like there was a waffle maker, coffee and assorted to-go type of offerings. Staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

Great place with nice clean rooms. Great front desk staff. Easy access to most places in Springfield from this location-especially downtown (Walnut St) My room was just a little small for the price--but not a deal breaker as it was cozy with a very nice recliner in it.

We booked online. Given wrong room with two twin size beds, next to the only other car in the complex. Listened to yelling, door slamming and barking all night and morning. Told us that room was all they had. There is something seriously wrong with mgmt. we had a bad experience once before there, but decided to give them another chance. We won't be back

Kind of a throwback to the roadside motel days. A couple of nice old cars on display. The property was neat and tidy. The staff was friendly. And the room was well kept with a comfortable bed. The free breakfast was what you've come to expect in hotels but it was enough to get us on down the road again. I would stay again if I found myself in Springfield.

Retro and cozy. Nice photo ops with antique cars. The room is small; however extremely clean. Has a sofa and small desk, in addition to a small refrigerator and microwave. No USB port in the room, we utilized our laptop for phone charging. They have a chair also outside of room, as well as some other chairs and table outside the reception area. The hot breakfast consisted of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, most hotels do not offer at such a reasonable cost. For women traveling alone, it should make them feel safe since they do leave the lights on at night. We did not use the pool but it is a nice size and definitely great to get some sun, albeit a bit noisy. They have some T-Shirts(Route 66) for purchase as well. The people at reception were super friendly. So if you are traveling the Route 66, definitely recommend this small, cozy and retro hotel!

This is an older hotel but a great place to stay. The staff is always great and willing to go above and beyond. We found this place last summer when here for a sorority event with my daughter. We wanted a pool and somewhere close to campus. Now it is our goto hotel. Love all the outdoor seating!

took a chance on this one, but Best Western has upped its game. An old motel where you can park at your door! Super nice, clean and a great price. Pet friendly! Its not on a major hiway, but only took a few minutes to locate. Staff was awesome. It has great Route 66 history.

This stay was part of our Route 66 excursion and we loved it! The retro feel and the new amenities made this probably our best stay of the trip. I would gladly, without hesitation, stay here again. Loved it!

Booked over the phone as we were there for our 33rd anniversary. Manager said she would decorate the room when we left to go shopping. Wife loved what the manager didn't even have to do. Stayed in the “Wild Bill” room and it was on-point. Definitely recommend this motel.

I cannot believe this is Best Western! The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one, is because I felt the bathroom was clean (even though it's a 4 by 4 cracker box.) We have traveled 15 days on Route 66 from California to here. We've stayed in some iconic Route 66 dumpy motels, but I expected that. I did not expect this from a Best Western. Tonight was the finals for ‘America's got talent' and we were excited about watching it. Turns out, their dish doesn't get any major stations. When I called the office, they said to try the stations higher then 20. I did, and found about six stations with nothing worth watching. I guess they serve breakfast, but we're getting up early, showering and getting out of here. We'll buy breakfast on the road. At least we will know it's good. Lastly, the air conditioner fan is extremely noisy, and the type of clientele that stay here, kind of scares us. I'm a premier Best Western member and are close to becoming a diamond member, and I would never believe that this was a Best Western.

At first glance, I thought the hotel looked like a dump, but as soon as I got closer it's historical charm began to win me over. The late night hotel rep was nice and accommodating. While the room was a bit dated, (that's actually part of the charm) it was VERY CLEAN. My wife and I both immediately remarked about the cleanliness of the room when we began to check it out. We only stayed one night but the bed seemed comfortable enough and the breakfast was pretty good. I'd recommend.

We've stayed at this hotel at different times over the past 40 years. A total remodel was done a few years ago. The decor is "retro," harkening back to the glory days of Route 66. They did a very nice job with it. The bathrooms are smaller than in new hotels, but redone in a beautiful way. We love it.

Room was very clean and confortable. Staff was most friendly and helpful. I was in the area to visit the Wilson's Creek and Pea Ridge Battlefields (both well worth the trips, by the way). After a long, hot day of hiking, the jacuzzi was great!

Real old style motel with engaging staff. Only half full yet for some reason we were put right at the back in one of the few rooms with no table and chairs outside. Room itself small and cramped but with all you'd expect from a motel, wouldn't want to stay here for more than one night. It had the oldest, noisiest air-con we've ever experienced. Usual throwaway everything at breakfast. Apparently Elvis stayed here in 1956 but he left the building as the air-con was too noisy!

The room was clean, roomy and didn't feel cramped like some other hotels. The flat screen tv was a nice size, and there was a fridge and microwave in the room. The breakfast had a variety of options; omelets, biscuits & gravy, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, juice, coffee, creamer & milk. The classic cars on the property were really cool to see up close and there was a swimming pool. I would definitely stay here again!

Great little motel on Route 66. You get to park right outside your room. Historically, Elvis stayed at this location and you have a 1950s feel for the place. The room was small but very nice and clean. I would recommend this motel to couples/families.

I stopped at this hotel as my first stopover on Route 66 after leaving Chicago the same morning. It was safe (travelling as female alone), quiet, convenient and comfortable. I was really well rested for my second day of driving!

BW Route 66 Rail Haven reminds you of the days when you parked in front of the door to your motel room. But, when you walk through the door it's very modern and comfortable. Although the motel sets on a busy street, I never heard traffic sounds. The staff was extremely friendly. Breakfast was good. Nice pool although I didn't use it because the temp that day was close to 100 degrees. I would stay here again.

The Rail Haven is everything you remember about motels...friendly people, simple rooms, a pool, folks sitting outside their rooms on a nice evening, and hospitality! The historic motel is charming and affordable. We always stay here when we come to Springfield!

Lovely old fashioned motel for Route 66 travellers with original pieces around and old pictures in the room. Nice welcome and check out, staff friendly. The room we had was 316 on the back row away from the main road, however this didn't stop the noise of idiots racing at night! The beds were fine but the air con was so loud, but that's probably just their age. Breakfast was fine nothing too grand but juice, coffee, pastries and hot food if required . This is the place to stay in Springfield.

This is both a very historic hotel and a very well upkept place to stay! The staff is always super friendly and the rooms are upkept and always clean! There is also an outdoor pool and hot tub to enjoy as well. When in Sprindgield, I would highly recommend this hotel to stay at!

Great place to stay with dogs. Plenty of outdoor space to walk. Clean and comfortable room. Being able to park right in front of the room and walk out the door to walk the pups made it so easy. Loved it.

There was torn carpet, dirty phone/iron/light switches in the first room assigned to us. The bathtub was dirty and there were ants all over the bathroom vanity. Room had a musty smell. We were moved to a different room. The second room was a bit better but still had a musty odor, dirty phone/iron/light switches. Carpet wasn't much better. Bathtub was dirty. We stayed at this location due to positive reviews and listed remodel/upgrades. We were quite disappointed and will not stay at this location again.

Great place to stay on our Route 66 trip. Super clean, friendly people, modern amenities but yet they've been able to keep that vintage charm! Breakfast area is small but we got there early and it wasn't too crowded. They had a nice selection of food too. We definitely recommend this place!

This location is a great addition to the area. It's a step back in time when things were simple and easy going. A historic place of a bye gone era. It's clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I don't even look around town for any better deal or value around. If you are looking for a bar or social gathering go elsewhere for you and the rest of us that don't need that. If you look for value, cleanliness, quiet and service stay here. Try at least once before going anywhere else.

Charming, quaint, retro motel. We rented the family suite (Two rooms with a king bed and bunk bed). It was only $20 more than a room with two double beds. Perfect for the 4 of us! Room was clean, check in was easy/friendly. Breakfast was just fine. We would recommend it and go back.

Friendly, helpful, Awesome breakfast with Gluten Free and Dairy Free options. Some of my favorites: Regular oatmeal (not sugar/flavored), honey, yogurt/oatmeal toppings, coffee machine offering Latte, Mocha, Cappuccino, Decaf mild or bold. Quality soaps.

This is a gem of a place on Route 66. The motel was quaint with decor from the days of a bygone era. The breakfast was very delicious and a great start to the day. The staff were very friendly and welcomed us. Our room was very small - but that is expected from an old motel. The bathroom was small and had older fixtures as well. I didn't like that there was no sink outside the bathroom. The room seemed like it had a bit of a remodel in the last several years and was clean. The bed was comfortable. It is on the corner of two busy roads and it was a bit loud- especially since there seemed to be a lot of motorcycle traffic. The outdoor pool was crystal clear and very well maintained. It looks like they just updated the hot tub as well. I would stay here again because I feel that the pros outweigh the cons.

We were looking for a clean, comfortable pet friendly room on our way to Cincinnati and this place hit all the boxes. Loved how easy it was to park in front and get to the green space for our fur babies. Room was spotless and a/c worked great.

I made my reservation online based on the information that the hotel was pet friendly. I had booked a king suite. On arrival I was informed that they do not allow pets in any king rooms, only doubles. This was very disappointing. Most other pet owners didn't pick up after their pets so trying to get my picky princess to do her private business was impossible. She refused to do it on the hotel property because the grass contained too many poo piles. Granted if you have a large dog they may not care. But minis or toys probably won't be happy. The room floor was dirty. I spilled some water and when I wiped it up the towel was black. So don't walk barefoot on the floor.

All of the staff we encountered were very friendly. Room was decent size and clean. Hot breakfast was good and kept stocked (eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy). The hotel was quiet. Would definitely recommend. The only negative was there were no drawers to put your belongings.

We stopped along the route with our family, booked the Elvis room, Wild Bill Hickok and family room. Very cool rooms to stay in. Really enjoyed and very friendly staff. The kids really got a kick out of the Cadillac bed!

Very unpleasant stay… 1. There were flies and ants in our room when we checked in. Not what I would expect from a room that was supposed to be cleaned and sanitised before we checked in. 2. There was a pubic hair on the shower wall. 3. The Wi-Fi was awful. When we had connection it was only 1 bar and it kept cutting out every 30 seconds, I would not recommend staying here at all.

I had the wild bill suite. I was interested in the soaking tub. It was the only good thing about the room. Your aged dirty window units cannot keep up with the Missouri summer. The floor was dirty. I walked around with bare feet and then got in the shower and obviously my feet were filthy from the floor, since that was the only place that I walked around with bare feet. Ugh. The tub was nice, but it is too slippery, it is an accident waiting to happen. There is absolutely no place for a woman to do her hair because there is no vanity space. I don't wear makeup, but I imagine that would be a nightmare. I am sure you are wondering why did we stay 3 nights. I honestly was not sure if they would give me my money back and my husband hates a scene almost as much as he hates to move to another hotel (I have made him do it before and he hates it, so you got to keep our money). For that price, I could have stayed at a nice boutique hotel and next time I will. Best Western used to be my go to hotel when we travelled, but a few years ago we stayed at a dirty one and I quit booking them. I made an exception and it was a mistake. Back to Hampton or better for us.

Room was clean and comfortable, A/C, unit was very loud making it difficult to sleep. Had to turn TV volume up quite loud to hear it over the a/c unit. Free breakfast met expectations for the hotel's price point.

We unexpectedly had to book a hotel room for a week in Springfield and we found this gem. It's an older motel but has been updated recently. The front staff was amazing at each and every interaction. Thank you Sandy for juggling rooms so that we could stay for the week! Would definitely stay here again. Has a nice little pool that felt great on the 100 degree evenings. Had a nice hot breakfast every morning. The only con that I can say is that the laminate flooring in the rooms that had them were dirty. Thank you again for the comfortable stay!

The Elvis themed room was really cool. My husband is a huge Elvis fan so he loved it. Every staff member we came in contact with was very polite and accommodating. The TV probably needs updating. The air conditioner wasn't great but in all fairness it was 100° out during our stay. Our total for two nights was $350 which I thought was a little pricey for what it was. We weren't completely disappointed but would probably search out other options if we were to stay in that area again.

We loved this hotel. It was very clean and had a nostalgic feel! Would definitely recommend. We stayed in the room that had the bunkbed in a separate room. It worked out great for our spontaneous family weekend getaway.

The property had some really neat displays of antique/classic cars and the office was also done up like the 50-60's. Had a phone booth! Breakfast was very good, hot and plenty, no waiting around to refill. Pool was really nice, too!

This was my first visit to Springfield MO and stayed here for the weekend. The staff was so nice, I called multiple times while on the road and they answered my questions every time and didn't sound annoyed. The rooms were clean and it was nice to have a real breakfast and not just granola bars with yogurt like other places. I asked for suggestions of places to visit/eat and they gave me great recommendations. When I left I asked if they could take a picture of me with my flag and didn't hesitate at all. Will definitely stay here again when I'm back in town.

We stayed at the Rail Haven on our trip down Route 66 checking out historic and interesting sites. We really enjoyed our stay here as it was a great mix of history, nostalgia, modern convenience and very comfortable. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms (130 and 403) were clean, well maintained and yet still had the spirit and feel of the old motor lodges. They have a very nice pool and hot tub, pavilion with a big screen TV and plenty of restaurants and gas stations nearby. Breakfast was in the reception building and was typical for most nice hotels including waffle maker, breads, pastries, sausage, omletes, biscuits and gravy, milk, cereals, eggs, and fruit juices. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, check in a breeze and we will definitely be back if we come through the area again!

We came to Springfield to visit our grandson before he shipped out for military duty. Rail Haven Best Western made our visit great. We spent a lot of time in the room during the day and everything was great.

We took a short trip to Springfield and found this motor inn within 5 minutes of the Springfield Cardinals stadium and Gillioz Theatre. It's on the old Route 66 and full of history No frills rooms. Beds are comfortable but no feather toppers here. Pillows as nice as any Choice hotel. Our room had a separate staging area with single-cup coffee pot outside the bathroom. Tub had old fixtures but they worked fine for the shower. You can sit on the patio/walkway outside your room and in the old-style way, visit with your neighbors if you want This place draws people with older, classic cars & trucksso it's like staying in a living museum. It's also apparently a favorite for paranormal investigators who come for overnights at the Pythian Castle. Breakfast is basically the same every day, so if you don't like biscuits & gravy, well, there's always sausage, eggs & toast. We loved parking at our door. That just brought back memories for us as kids, traveling with our parents. Some drawbacks ~ loud street noise all night long. Kind of hard to make a left turn out of their lot. Not much in walking distance. All the action is south, down the street.

This is a historical hotel but not dated. It's wonderful. The breakfast was very good. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and cool (a/c). We will be using this hotel again. There are also 2 themed suites.

This hotel was quite and clean. We were very impressed with the staff and the breakfast. The location is great! We stayed one night in the Elvis Room. It had a hot tub in the room and was a great ending to a long day dive on Route 66.

Visited as part of our Route66 honeymoon. Unfortunately all the hotels and motels on our trip have been pre-booked and paid for. We visited a Best Western at Grand Canyon just a week ago and had such appalling service that I was reluctant to come here. Had Best Western responded to our complaint appropriately at the time, or responded to the bad review we had left, we would not have been so reluctant to attend, but as we were ignored, charged for a breakfast we could not eat (wanted cereal but the whole hotel had no milk, despite there being a shop across the street, plus the appalling rudeness of a staff member) we still had the room booked. The room appeared clean and the a/c had been left on which meant it was cool upon arrival. The bedding although clearly clean and laundered, did have a stain on the bottom sheet, plus a previously used bottle of complimentary body wash had been left on the shower shelf, so although it looked clean, the chambermaid had not been thorough. The lamp had a faulty bulb so we could not use it. Hopefully it was just the bulb and not an electrical fault. . Because of the last incident, we will not risk breakfast here, proof that one bad experience will always impact further. I will NEVER book a Best Western as long as I live and will be following up my previous complaint with their Head Office when I return to UK. Please see previous reviews as I have had fantastic service across the USA for the past two weeks, except at BW hotels. BW please get your act together. You will be hearing from us. As per previous complaint, I doubt BW will respond

I was skeptical to stay in a drive in motel, as I usually stay in 4 star hotels. This motel was perfect. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. The motel has a lot of character from the 50'-60's. Loved it!

We had an excellent stay at the Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven location. We would recommend the Elvis room. It was a exceptionally fun filled time, and the rooms and well maintained, very clean and comfortable.

This hotel is very clean, the sheets were crisp, the pillows fluffy, the breakfast clever, and the theme adorable. We appreciated the shower head being above our 6 foot heads and the snappy internet service.

We ahve stayed here four times before. This is a unique hotel on Route 66 and is always a great stay. I think the internet problem is due to their closeness to so many other businesses. They should be able to fix it. If they can fix the internet problem or if you can just use your phone which is what we did this is an awesome experience not to be missed. It is so convenient to everything. We came this timw to see WOW only a mile away.

I really like the place. Room was very clean and felt fresh. Mattress was great. The room just seem very small to me for the price I had to pay. Location is very busy for traffic . Breakfast was good...didn't really see anyplace that stated when breakfast was over? But in all..I really like it and would stay again.

I have to say this is my favorite Best Western. The staff is amazing!!! Fresh baked cookies when I checked in. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. I love anything from the past and they delivered. I talked to the staff about the property's history and they were happy to share their knowledge. I also saw some cool stuff walking around the property. The breakfast was also good, which I find in all the Best Western's I stay at. I loved the sausage links because usually it's a patty. these were way better. If you want a great place to stay in Springfield that's affordable, chose this one!! PS, Kayla at the front desk was super funny and sweet!!

Wonderful Staff-Great Breakfast-Clean Room--Good Price. Very impressed with the staff. I was late to breakfast and they took the time out to bring me out some food even thought they had already pout most things away. also, the staff gave us a personal tour of the Elvis and Wild Bill rooms even though we did not stay in it. All were very kind to go above and beyond to make our stay good.

Fun motel— reminded me of ones my family stayed in many years ago. Clean, quiet, nicely decorated, convenient location. Friendly staff; I didn't need anything extra, but I felt they would have been happy to assist me if I had.

Every time I go to Springfield, MO I always look forward to staying at this historic wonder that is upkept and modernized well. The staff is always super friendly and professional. This is a must stay if you are a Route 66 fan or a fan of history!

We enjoyed our stay on our roadtrip in Feb! The room was very comfortable and the front desk was very personable and friendly. Breakfast was just fine! No issues with anything at this historic hotel icon!

I had first heard of this hotel several years ago while watching some travel videos. I recently planned a trip going cross country and including part of Route 66. We pulled up to find a well cared for property with quite a nostalgic feel. We had to wait a couple minutes for the front desk clerk to get back to the front office, but check-in was quick and friendly. One fear of motorcourt hotels is the overly dated feel (worn fixtures and overall tiredness), this was not the case here. The rooms felt clean and updated, while paying homage to the historic nature of this hotel. I will definitely be adding this to my list of hotels to stay at in my future travels through the area.

This hotel is in great shape. All rooms are on first floor and they are per friendly. Breakfast of fresh eggs, biscuit and homemade gravy was excellent. Received great service from Lori, Dalton and Trent. Well managed operation. I highly recommend.

Nostalgic and cool would be our description of the Rail Haven. If you are doing Route 66 right, you should plan for a night here. Great staff! Very informative of Springfield and history of the area. Free breakfast. Pet friendly!

The hotel wasn't quite what I was expecting from looking at the pictures online. That being said the rooms are small but everything worked just fine. and the bed was comfortable. The staff is very polite

The room was noisy being near a busy road and the floors were so dirty that when I spilled water and wiped it with a towel, the towel came up almost black with dirt. The bath had someone else's body hair in it. Other guests were hostile to us for wearing masks while they sniffled and coughed over the breakfast, and the lady at checkout was unfriendly and rushed me out, so I didn't get a chance to talk to her about my concerns. The room was also pretty cold with lightweight blankets not appropriate for winter, and the beds are old spring mattresses and not very comfortable. You could hear neighbors through the paper thin walls and we got woken up by a dog barking in the night. I expected a budget motel given the location and price, but it could have at least been clean. I wish I'd stayed at a LaQuinta chain or somewhere else more comfortable that would have been in the same price range. The theme of this place made it seem cool but it wasn't worth the terrible sleep.

Stopped for 1 night on a road trip. Charming hotel with Route 66 character and memorabilia. Elvis stayed here in 1954. Motel style rooms with your car parked right outside the door. Rooms are not huge but clean and in good condition. Bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is offered in the motel office - so you do have to walk outside to get it. Staff was friendly and very helpful.

Great for 1 night while passing through town. Cannot imagine staying longer though because the beds were terribly hard and the pillows had no fluff left in them, flat as pancakes. Front desk was great and the breakfast was good, nice atmosphere.

Very clean and quiet. Grassy area for pets and well lit! Loved the old school feel and modern amenities. Convenient to restaurants and felt safe in the area. Easy to find and great parking space. Overall a great experience!

This motel is a gem. It actually has character and is efficiently managed. We travel every other month from NC to MO and most places we've encountered are dirty even though they say they are using accelerated cleaning methods due to COVID. This motel is spotless. It was everything they advertised. Very helpful staff and just a great place to stay in Springfield, MO.

This Best Western is always awesome to stay at when in Springfield. It is historic, kept in great condition and the staff is always super professional and friendly. I highly recommend everyone to stay here ... Elvis even did in the past!

The best value in Springfield for a good and quiet nights sleep. The bedding could not be better anywhere. Very clean and a little nostalgic. Nothing fancy but is you room really the reason for being there? Efficient service and quiet and centrally located.

The room was clean, the team was very helpful and responsive, the decor was the most fun. Reminded us of a step back into the 50's only with new & clean fixtures and facilities. The entire property was well kept and inviting. The location was close to everything we traveled to see.

This hotel is a classic Route 66 landmark, built around 1940 I think and expanded several times since. The rooms are a bit basic but well maintained, the only complaint was a rather noisy window aircon/heat unit that kept going on and off all night. We stayed in the Elvis suite, which was very cool (Google it for pictures, that's exactly what we had); it included a jacuzzi although we didn't have time to use it. Be prepared to drive a bit for decent evening food, although there are fast-food/quick service restaurants not too far, maybe a couple within walking distance. Breakfast was decent. Service was okay.

On our Route 66 roadtrip, we tried to stay in vintage motels and hotels as much as possible. This is the first Best Western we've stayed in in years--we usually stay in midrange rather than budget hotels--and we were very pleasantly surprised. Our room was very clean, attractively decorated with a mid-century vibe, and the staff super-friendly. There is a free hot breakfast, but no breakfast room. You call about 5-10 minutes beforehand to order, and they have it packaged up to go when you arrive. You help yourself to beverages. There is a covered pavilion, but when we visited it was too cold to eat our breakfast there. If you are looking for a vintage Route 66 motel experience, keep in mind that, while this property dates to 1938, most of the original buildings were replaced in the 1950s. Since then, the property has been altered so, while there are cute 1950s touches, they're all recent alterations, not original. It's nonetheless fun to stay in a place that Elvis stayed twice in. Take time to walk around the property--you'll see old Best Western signs, an old sign for the restaurant, the original neon Rail Haven sign, and a replica of a neon Springfield directional sign, When we visited, the property did NOT have green neon lights under the eaves as shown in some photos. But it was still a great, fun stay.

This is an historic motel located along Route 66. It features interesting relics such as 1950's cars. The value was good, and our room was clean and well maintained with a comfortable bed. The facility is dated with considerable shortcomings. Our room was very small and had few outlets, old carpet and a hard tiled bathroom floor that was cold on bare feet. There is no common breakfast area, so guests are urged to return to their rooms to eat in this “grab and go” arrangement. However, no trays are provided requiring many guests to make multiple trips to carry their meals to their rooms across a windy parking lot. I would think twice before returning to this location which is inferior to what I expect from Best Westerns.

There are several things that I liked about this motel. First , it's conveniently located near I-44. Second, the first thing that you see when you pull in is a 53 Ford Fairlane which enhances the feeling of nostalgia one experiences. I was fortunate enough to have gotten the Elvis Presley Suite. Presumably it's the same room where Elvis stayed making this trip even more memorable.

The room was clean and the staff were very kind. Breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed seeing the old cars and signs on the property. The outside area with the big TV was neat. I would recommend staying here.

If you want to live the nostalgia and americana that is Route 66, you gotta stay here! They have put some real time and effort into keeping this place up just as was back in the golden age of Route 66 travel. The service, welcoming staff, decor, everything... it's a gem!

Clean, great location, reminiscent of the days when Route 66 was at it's prime yet included modern conveniences-tv, wifi, refrigerator. I highly recommend this location, regardless of the purpose of travel.

Staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was great. Stayed in a room with a jacuzzi tub and it was amazing! Room was cute and cozy. Breakfast was sieved to us, and we're took it to our room, or could take it to a table outside. It was good food. The bed was super comfortable!

I have had really good front desk people to check me in. Sandy and John are 2 of the many staff i have met at any B.W, that are friendly, helpful and make you feel welcome!!! If every B.W had front desk staff such as these 2.....i wouldn't stay anywhere else!! Thank you to both of them for making me feel welcomed. It makes your stay much more pleasant when you check in and they actually welcome you to be there and don't treat you like you don't belong there but we have to check you in bc that is what they have to do! There is a difference. So thank you!

Our Route 66 Missouri tour began at Best Western Rail Haven Motel. It's right on Route 66, complete with neon at night and Burma Shave signs visible in the daytime. Classic cars, an outdoor pool, a clean, comfy room and friendly staff. Elvis and I made a great choice - 55 years apart.

I was traveling for business with my son with me, and we stopped in Springfield for the night. What a quaint nostalgic stay this was!! My son was intrigued that Elvis has once stayed at this same hotel. We both enjoyed the antique cars and gas pumps on display, as well as the throw-back decor. The staff upon check-in, as well as breakfast and check-out, were all friendly and happy to accommodate! Breakfast was fresh and friendly, with both hot options and cold. There is an outdoor pool but our timetable did not allow us to check it out. The room was clean and the furnishings were in good condition. If/when we happen to be traveling this way again we will definitely plan to stay here!

Traveling and happened to find this hotel on Best western site. A truly nice step back in time. The cleanest hotel we have stayed at in years. The lobby is retro 50's diner. The old cars parked around property were beautifully restored. The rooms were decorated as if you stepped back in time. Truly a must stay if you are a Route 66 nostalgia love. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.

I am a travel nurse working at a local hospital. I travel with pets. This motel is a good option. The buildings are older. This is a plus.Unless someone is talking loudly directly outside my room, I cannot hear them. Perfect for a day sleeper. Lots of restaurant options close by. Rooms are no frills, but clean. The internet is slow at times.

Last minute stay and it was worth it. We were traveling through after a funeral and it was late and we just happened to look up the reviews and while it doesn't look like much it was worth it. The staff, the decor, the rooms and the history were worth the stay. We will be back for another stay!

The staff at the Best Western were friendly and accommodating. They seemed to care about our comfort during our stay. They were helpful with dinning and tourist options and things we shouldn't miss while we were there. Motel was well lit and felt safe even late at night. Rooms were clean and felt sanitized upon entry.

This is one of the older best westerns from the 1950s but has been remodeled and updated to 2020. It has the 1950's charm of a roadside motel but has all the current update. It is neat. We felt at home and comfortable

We really enjoyed our experience on Route 66 at the Rail Haven Motel. I usually prefer hotels with interior corridors but we had great parking and the separate kids room was a huge bonus! The swimming pool was clean and the hot tub was great. Breakfast was good with enough choices for everyone, I especially liked the fresh fruit.

We loved the location of this hotel. It was nice parking right in front of the room. The room was on the small size, but perfect for a 1 night stay. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel!

Everything at the Rail Haven was great. The staff was as nice as could be. The room was clean and comfy with a good a/c. It was perfect to keep my motorcycle and trailer right outside the door safe and secure. The pool was crisp and clear. The Rail Haven will be my first choice of stay next time i will be in Springfield.

We stayed here as a last minute option. The front desk staff were very hospitable and we originally thought the room was great until later in the evening when we noticed the air vent in the ceiling leaking and the ceiling next to it as well. The staff moved us to a different room. Then that room had a plastic bag on the floor, a plastic wrapper on the nightstand and a fork on the sink. The sheets also had hair on them. We were too tired at this point to call the front desk again so we just dealt with it. It is evident that they really try to keep the property as up to date as possible but due to its age it is difficult. The staff were amazing as well. I would stay here again if the price was much lower bc we enjoyed the hospitality,

We were doing a route 66 tour. I saw the motel on line and it looked very intriguing. Upon arrival I was not disappointed. The stakk was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The restaurant the recommended was great. Tracy and John represented the motel with professionalism. Two nice employees that went out of their way to take care of us.

Well rooms need updated. More room they kinda small with a king size bed and the other accessories that were nice to have in room. Also the parking is tight when u have a long wheel base truck. Lol. Our ac went out late night early morning. When we were leaving I called and reported it to the staff. When receiving my online receipt I was given a full refund so they made it right. The staff was great and wonderful

Missing grout in the shower. Floor tiles were broken in the bathroom. Shower faucet leaked. Towels were stiff and rough. Key to the door didn't work half the time. Breakfast was horrible. I was ignored at check out.

We arrived a little before check in. Room wasn't ready, so Kayla the wonderful lady at the front desk helped us figure out what we could do with our family of 6. We came back and room wasn't cleaned yet due to being short staffed. We were able to use a bathroom to change into swimsuits which was wonderful because the 4 kids were getting restless. Pool and hot tub were clean and much needed after a long road trip. We decided to head to dinner after a couple of hours, during which time our room was ready. Everyone was so apologetic that they were behind, but hey, it couldn't be helped (everyone was hustling to get rooms cleaned for check ins) and it worked out fine. Room was clean, plenty of space ,so perfect for our family. After reading previous reviews about noise from the busy street, I brought a white noise machine. I'm a light sleeper so I was the only one that heard any traffic. We had breakfast in the morning of biscuits and gravy, sausage links and eggs, and some juice. Everything was hot and tasted good. There were also packaged donuts, danishes, fresh fruit, coffee and instant oatmeal available. Plenty of options for everyone. Keep up the great work, it's appreciated! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Ok so first I was a bit weary bc it does look a little sus but after checking in, we loved it! At First, because of short staffed, we did have to wait about 45 minutes for a room to be cleaned, but we went to the huge bass pro down the street and had a great time there. A staff member called us right away to let us know our room was ready and we went back to the hotel. Room was spacious, king bed was so comfortable, kids loved the bunk beds, pool was fabulous and staff was super friendly. Hot breakfast was yummy too! Love the kitschy Route 66 stuff they have in the rooms and front desk. They even give out free post cards and stickers! I love how you park right in front of your door and we enjoyed sitting on our sidewalk area watching the cars go by and the sunset. If I'm ever in Springfield again I will definitely stay here. It's not fancy or frilly but it's comfortable and homey

The hotel was clean, front desk service was friendly. The downside…it's worth maybe $50 a night…way overpriced for Springfield. It's a motel, so you hear all the traffic, all the kids cruising and racing in the summer…we heard people standing outside our room talking all hours of the night and early morning. It's outdated, especially for that price. I would not recommend it, my husband is from Springfield, and he was not impressed, said there were way better places for the price. We were passing through on our way back from Texas, I should have let him pick a spot…I honestly don't know how this comes up as the #1 hotel in Springfield on my list…

We stayed in a room that had a king bed and bunk beds. The decor was great, but the wood floors were so dirty we had to put on flip flops everytime our feet were on the ground because our socks were getting so dirty. Our bathtub had water dripping all the time, staining on the tub and mold on the wall. The room had such a musty smell that I had to wash everything we traveled with, including the stuff we didn't wear that was hanging in the closet. This was a huge disappointment at $150 a night. I will never recommend this hotel.

Don't know about the other rooms but the Elvis Suite is a great way to spend a night in Springfield. The room has some great memorabilia and is very clean and absolutely fun...from the leather seat in front of the bed to the jacuzzi with Elvis watching you....Elvis probably would have frowned at the breakfast offerings. There were no peanut butter/banana/bacon sandwiches, but George's Restaurant down the street has some good food.

comfortable little motel, decorated nicely, beds are comfortable, everytime I've stayed the rooms are always clean and comfortable, one of my favorates in Springfield. Rooms are somewhat small but very accomadating

My personal experience has been great. It's always helpful when you don't know an area for associates at a business to be knowledgeable and friendly. To recommend good eateries and attractions. I also like personal recommendations.

The staff was friendly and made every effort to make your stay enjoyable/relaxing. the rooms are clean and comfortable. the breakfast was limited (bag breakfast with fruit/mini donuts/granola bar and a breakfast sandwich (sausage and egg is what we had) was provided upon request. We stayed for 2 nights and had no issues with getting extra towels.

It was like stepping back in time for this senior citizen, but also thoroughly enjoyed by the 17 year old young man in our group. We ended up staying several nights. One caveat: bring earplugs if nighttime road noise is an issue for you

This by far is always one of my favorite hotels to stay at. It is very historic and upkept in excellent condition. The staff is always super professional and friendly making my stay that much better! This is a must stay location if you are in the area. Even Elvis has stayed there in the past!

We were in town for the state basketball playoffs, so spent most of our time away from the hotel. it was very clean and pleasant, and the front desk staff were helpful and friendly. We would recommend the Rail Haven for anyone needing a medium priced hotel with everything needed for a comfortable night's rest and light breakfast. Coffee was good!

Touring colleges- stayed here overnight - immaculately clean, cool retro feel, great documentary about historic Route 66 on channel 2, and Dalton the night manager was so friendly and helpful! Best of all, he reassured me truthfully that the pet-friendly rooms were on a row at the back of the motel so my allergic family had no problems sleeping well. Would definitely stay here again.

This is an older hotel that has been well maintained. It is clean and the staff are very nice and helpful. The only issue, and a major one for us the hotel is right along Route 66 and vehicle traffic can be heard all night long, worse than near an interstate.

Too expensive for what you get, don't advertise hot breakfast, then provide apple sauce. I stayed the night prior to this stay at an awesome Best Western near Kansas City for only $5 more than this place. It is a motel, NOT a hotel...

I fly home from Work usually every 2 weeks. Since I recently formed a new relationship, we began spending a night or two together and the first trip I chose this place. I stay in best western a lot and have lots of points but I rented a jacuzzi room and had to pay cash! Lol. Its priced well though and very nice. The whole place is fairly well updated and reasonably nice and comfortable. But, it's old and it what you would get from a newer place. The wifi works well and its cleaned better than the even cheaper places but there are a few sacrifices for staying where Elvis stayed when this was the newest and nicest place in town. I'm afraid if Elvis came today he would choose to stay somewhere else!

Very pleasant stay. Super nice staff that is knowledgeable about the area. Clean rooms with nice amenities. Due to COVID breakfast offered was a grab and go style with water, granola bars, muffin or danish type item. Will recommend location and will definitely be back.

my daughter goes to college in near by and I like the easy use of this hotel. Great price. room and beds are alway nice and clean. staff at desk was nice and helpful. I have stayed here on every visit to Springfield

We always stay at this Best Western as it is clean, staff are friendly and the room charge is within our budget. The rooms are always ready, the check in process is smooth and quick and the rooms are always clean.

I couldn't resist the opportunity to stay in an Elvis themed motel room right on our Route 66 road trip. From the pink Cadillac bed frame to the in-room jacuzzi fit for a King, I couldn't help but geek out on all things Elvis. Apparently Elvis stayed here with his mom in 1956. Elvis or not, there's no shortage of retro Americana here overall, from the restored Rail Haven neon sign to the vintage gas pumps and classic cars right outside the main lobby. Definitely a worthwhile place to stay.

The room was cute and clean, staff was very friendly, breakfast was great, parking was fine...but the jacuzzi didn't work. I called the front desk and they said they could send someone over around 11:00pm. I told them never mind and just went to bed.

Renovated Rt. 66 motel with all the up to date amenities. Excellent staff, clean rooms. The rear of the property is secluded from the main office and provides opportunity loud parties, people sleeping in their cars, etc.

We stayed there a couple of years ago as a part of our Route 66 trip. This was our second time there. If you are taking a Route 66 trip, the Rail Haven is a must!! The rooms have been updated with things we expect and still keep the Route 66 experience. The rooms are also very clean!!

Upon pulling up to the hotel and seeing the neon signs, 1950s Ford sedans, and the Route 66 Americana culture this establishment has, from when you first walk inside you are greeted by the kind front desk associate Tracey, she welcomed my girlfriend and I and gave us backstory on Elvis staying here, wild bull hickock in the area, restaurants suggestions and went as far as personally enhancing our experience which is fantastic. The manager Brandy was incredibly professional and kind. She set us up with the brand new themed suite “wild bill hickock” room. The history of this establishment has Elvis having stayed here and Springfields Original Town Square- where bill hickock got into a gun fight and when you look inside the room you see the memorabilia that represents the history. The gorgeous hard wood floor and hard wood walls give a neat clean yet Wild West vibe. the decor the lamps the clay hanger the wardrobe closet even the iron rod head board and red velvet cushion chairs give you the feel of an old timer salon. The shoe piece of this suite is the jaw dropping copper tub with a bronzed brushed faucet in the center of the room. Laid on top of beautiful brick flooring giving the essence of rugged and romantic for the way-ward traveler kicking off his boots or the bubble bath for a romantic couple. Memorabilia is built into the rooms essence magnificently. Poker cards chips and imiages of wild bill and beautoful murals on the back wall showcased by adjustable spotlights that give this themed room a comfortable historic feel without being over the top. Be aware the room does not come with a fridge and the bathrooms barn door does slide open a little without a lock, however that's the ambiance of the overall feel of the design. The staff, the design of the room, the hotel overall are notable for hospitality references, comfort and enjoyment. Would love to stay when the pool is open over summer and explore their bbq area in the future. Definitely recommend for a memorable stay.

Am I wrong to think the Rail Haven doesn't get enough Route 66 love? This place is great and still maintains a classic vibe. Clean and good service. Top Notch! Rooms face outward, which was must have for me. They have an outdoor pool, but I did not use.

I called 10 motels in the Springfield area looking for a pet friendly place to spend the night as I traveled from Omaha to Memphis. I rarely stay at Best Western but it was my only option with a 3-month old puppy. I was not disappointed! In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the pet-friendly designated room and nearby green space to walk puppy. I will definitely stay again when I am in the Springfield area.

My truck broke down and my dog and I were stranded in Springfield for six days. The Rail Haven took amazing care of us. The rooms are comfortable. The pet friendly rooms over in the 300's have a large green space right there making it easy to take the pets out for a quick walk. Staff is incredibly helpful. The location is okay. BUT, just a couple blocks down the road is the Route 66 Food Truck Park which I highly recommend. Also Mexican Villa Comida is a nice little restaurant in easy walking distance.

Overall, our stay at this Best Western met our expectations. The location was perfect for activities in Branson and Springfield. We enjoyed the historic vibe, comfortable bed and jacuzzi tub in the Marilyn Monroe room.

My husband and I stayed in the beautiful new Wild Bill Hickok room. It was period correct and you could tells lot of thought went into even the smallest details. It's obvious the owner takes great pride in the upkeep of this historic property. The staff was amazing, friendly and helpful. Kayla at the front desk was awesome. The pool area was clean and inviting, with towels provided and a great BBQ area. The rooms were clean, and the property was tidy. The historic Route 66 neon was fabulous, and the small details around the property really made the stay memorable. Hotel impossible would be hard pressed to find something wrong here. We'll definitely be back and will recommend to others. :)

Beautiful little historic motel off route 66 with clean rooms, nice beds and a great staff. Will be the only location that I stay at in Springfield, Missouri from here forward. If you like history and great service look no further than this location.

This is my favorite hotel in the Springfield area to stay at when doing our paranormal ghost adventure events at Pythian Castle! The staff are always top notch with being both professional and friendly. This is a very historic hotel as well! Even Elvis stayed there in the past! For being historic, they keep the historic look while also keeping the preservation perfect. This is a must stay place when in the area. During the summer months you can also enjoy the outdoor swimming pool and hot tub!

Got a great rate here for 2 nights and found the hotel very clean and convenient. Kayla who checked us in was very personable and helpful. The history here is interesting with classic cars out front and pictures in room from 1937 and since are great. The water pressure here is GREAT for the shower, a real rainfall. We did like the outside doors and easy parking during this time. A grab and go breakfast offered.

I have stayed at this location for many years. I like that it is basically centered in all the main attractions. It has easy access to enter and exit the property and a spacious parking area. Staff has always be very helpful with any needs.

My check in with Mrs Lora great. My second time at the Coach House Inn. The rooms are spacious and quiet inside. Very clean,comfy with sofa. Everything works Wifi,A/C ,TV. Bathroom very clean. Breakfast good. Many choices restaurants walking distance,and Walmart. Im stay again

Enjoyed the private entrance to the room which was extremely quiet inside eventhough located next to a major road. Also, I selected the room because of the king size main bed but also for the double/single bunk bed in the additional room.

Such a jewel! Fabulous staff - the friendliest and most helpful. Rooms immaculate. Comfy bed and pillows. Delightful breakfast. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Very cool ambiance with hotel decor, antique cars. Terrific value all around!!

I can't say this is a fancy motel, but it provides a fun environment and experience. Yes, it is old, but it is well maintained, clean, and has a great staff. In many ways it is a realistic representation of what motels were like in the 1950s. Although we didn't have flat screen TVs, WiFi, and phone chargers it brought back memories of my childhood trips. Finally, it is dog friendly.

This place was exactly what we were looking for. Has the charm of a route 66 motel but the cleanliness of a more modern place. Friendly staff, nice rooms. We would definitely stay here again. They were great with my pup too.

This place is off the chart when it comes to customer service, very friendly and accommodating I have back issues I needed a recliner to sleep in and they made it happen not one problem. They gave us A tour of Elvis Presley‘s hotel room and Marilyn Monroe's room it was great plus I got to be on the famous Route 66 life is good. There Free breakfast was unbelievably couldn't believe what they had all set up to eat so much food and the place was clean it might be older and not updated but that's what you want to see when your at the oldest best western on Route 66 The nostalgic . I realize there are different values by different folks however this hotel was rated a 4.5 and at best from my experience is is a 2. It is VERY old, and nothing has been done to update, this is obvious from the time you walk into the reception area. Small little breakfast nook and not appealing at all. The only thing that made the stay acceptable was the room was the "Elvis sweet" and when you walk in a flip the light switch the bottom of the bed had the taillights of a Cadillac attached to it. Interesting to say the least.

While the rooms are average at best, the thing that makes this the only place we stay while in Springfield, MO is the customer service. Brandy was absolutely amazing. She and her staff went above and beyond to make our stay stress-free and enjoyable. They showed great empathy for our plight (cancer surgery) and quickly saw to any issues we encountered! With customer service declining so rapidly, we were ecstatic to have such a wonderful experience at this hotel!

Overall it was not bad. My kids loved the bunk beds in a seperate room. The bed were pretty comfy. My only complaint would he when we went to give our kids a shower and there was a dirty towel that fell from the shower rod from the previous people.

We have stayed here for quite a few years now and always have a great stay! The staff is always polite and helpful! The rooms are always clean, quiet and I like being able to park right in front of the door. We have other family stay and we can usually get adjoining rooms which makes it nice to socialize at the end of the day. They are also pet friendly, which is the only way some of my family can travel.

Excellent staff, great hot breakfast, comfortable beds. We especially enjoyed the furnishings in the office and breakfast area. The phone booth inside and outside, the old gas pumps and the two old cars. My husband is a big Elvis fan so this was a fun experience!

This was our 1st stay, but it won't be our last. It was a lovely nostalgic visit to a beautifully appointed vintage looking motel from the lobby to the room decor, but exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms. The TV reception and program options were some of the best we have had. The breakfast area was delightfully "Route 66", as were the classic cars and gas pumps out front. One of the best Best Westerns we have enjoyed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Rail Haven. It has the charm of days gone by, was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. If we are ever return to Springfield, MO we will stay there again.

Lovely little hotel on the main strip. Rooms are nicely decorated and we had a comfortable 1 night stay here. The bathtub is low to the ground which will make it easy for people who struggle to get into high sided tubs. They offer a small breakfast consisting of eggs, sausages, bagels, breads, teas/coffees, cereal and a selection of yoghurt. Wouldn't be able to have this breakfast for more than 1 morning as there's not enough variety but definitely sufficient for our 1 night stay. Lady on check in was happy to answer our questions and provide useful information about the area and they offer complimentary leaflets for the city. Very nice.

Love this little piece of history on Route 66. The motel is completely refurbished and extremely clean. There are special rates for families of Missouri State students; call directly to book! This is the oldest working Best Western in the US and the staff is so helpful and friendly. I was able to get a late check-out and the desk clerk was standing at the door with my receipt as I was pulling up to check out.

Since Elvis Presley stayed here in 1956 the location features a 1950's motif. 2 1956 or so fords are parked out front and a print of Elvis and his band gassing up at a rural one pump gas station was on the wall. All employees I encountered were courteous and efficient.

This is always a great Best Western to say at. It is a very iconic and historic one, especially for those that like the historic Route 66 locations! Also the staff here is head and shoulders above the other ones in the chain! If you are ever in the area, this is a must stay at location!

We were assured we would have a room at the back of the motel when we went through the pre- check in because we knew the motel was on Glenstone which is a very busy street. However, when we arrived, we were put in a room at the very front of the motel which has extremely noisy...all night we heard the road noise! Don't stay here if you are a light sleeper......you can't trust the hotel to give you a quieter room in the back of the motel, even when they tell you by text and email you have been placed in a room at the back of the motel!!!!!

An excellently managed property... older in years but proud of it's decades of top notch hospitality... very close to almost anywhere in Springfield... a great home base for our trip to Hammons Auditorium to see Joe Bonamassa and for a day of exploring Pinball and penny smashing in the Springfield area... breakfast was as good as any... not just an exercise in "we must do this"... nice little coffee shop next door for fancy caffeine... my favorite place to stay in Springfield... we will be back

Hotel was clean and great breakfast. Believe it or not was quite since everyone there I think had a dog. Did not hear a peep from them. Old motel that they have remodeled and looks good. Had green space for your dog. Would recommend for the dog lovers. But we had not dog and still enjoyed.

The hotel was very clean and fresh looking. Route 66 items were everywhere! old cars, signs, telephone booth and even an old gas pump! The breakfast was good and tasty. The room had lots of pillows and towels. With a microwave and a mini fridge. I WOULD DEFIANTLY STAY THERE AGAIN!

Did some research before deciding on a JR pass required to be purchased before departure for Japan. Decision based very much on planned usage for both long distance and local travel around Tokyo were we elected to stay for the 15 days we where in Japan. Decided to go for it and what a good decision as just the three long Shinkansen trips covered the cost of the pass and these to Kyoto, Mount Fuji and Nagano to see the snow monkeys. This meant that all our local travel was free and we spent a lot of time on the JR network visiting the many sights in and around Tokyo. Not only did the pass save money but also hugely convenient as just had to show the pass every time going through local ticket barriers so saved confusion of buying tickets for each outing. Other daily tickets like the Suica and Pasmo cards are available but more expensive. So if you plan out if city excursions JR pass is a no brainer.

We stayed here as part of our Route 66 trip and couldn't have been happier. To stay in an authentic motel on the mother road was a great treat for us. The only small niggle was the breakfast room is tiny and there's nowhere near enough room for more than a few guests at a time - we ended up eating breakfast off our laps in reception. The sights of Route 66 are walkable (about 15-20 mins) if you feel like it which we did.

Absolutely charming and perfect! This is one facility that gets it right. Quiet, clean, comfortable and even has a good breakfast. The staff is very knowledgeable about both the property and Route 66 history. They were a treat to talk with. Thank you for a wonderful memory in a Route 66 property!

Really nice clean motel! Room was great with comfortable beds. Breakfast provided also. Rooms have a separate vanity area outside of the bathroom that works well for multiple people trying to get ready. Will definitely stay here again!

Arrived Thursday afternoon, was checked in within 10 minutes. Our room was fresh smelling and clean. Check out was super easy maybe took 10 minutes. Staff very friendly always greeting you and asking if everything was ok. Great place to stay.

Our go to Route 66 stop in Springfield Mo. Nostalgia style room's, great hot breakfast and high speed internet. Staff makes you feel like your coming home for the holidays. You're greeted with a smile and a welcome to Springfield.

In town with our children for a wedding. We stayed in a room that had an extra bedroom with a bunk bed for the children. It was fantastic! As other reviews stated, this motel is absolutely in pristine condition. It has old-time character, but all of the rooms are completely modern and updated. Honestly, I don't think that I have ever stayed in a motel/hotel or even a resort that is as clean as this one! The breakfast also was delicious. We also appreciated the staff letting us stay an extra hour to check out. So much fun! Would highly, highly recommend!

We are driving Route 66 and stopped here as we passed through Springfield, MO. The staff were very friendly & accomodating. I went to the office to ask for an extra luggage rack & it got to the room before I did. Breakfast was good (both hot & cold options) and made getting back on the road easier. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here because it was on our way and it had good reviews. Very cute on the outside and lobby. A great 50's vibe. The evening front desk clerk was great. He was very friendly and personable. You can park right in front of your room old school. When we opened the door I was hit with a strong smell of mold from the running air conditioner. I turned it off and tried to open the window but it was sealed shut. Upon further investigation of the A/C the filter was filthy (see picture), but the mold smell was from deeper inside the unit. We slept with the air off, luckily it was not too hot. When we checked out before 6 the next morning I told the night auditor/desk clerk there about the problem. He did not even look up or respond he just kept preparing my paperwork. They do offer free bottled water and breakfast at 6 but we did not try it.

Very clean!!!!!!! Great price, neat history, fantastic staff! Our group came for a soccer tournament and the staff was very accommodating. The rooms were clean and included a microwave and small refrigerator.

We stayed here a few weeks ago on a whim. The hotel manager (Sorry I forgot his name) was the most informative man we ever met in a hotel. He told us all about the historic hotel and showed us the room Elvis stayed in. He had to close his reception temporarily to show us the room, but he did it willingly. The next morning the lovely receptionist took our pictures for us and was also so helpful. We are both in our 60s and enjoyed the spotless room so well. Also the breakfast was great and I'm Irish. At the breakfast I met three other Irish people who were also very happy with the hotel. 100% happy and will stay there again for sure.John and JoAnn Cahill

Friendly welcoming on arrival,room was clean well maintained, fridge and microwave also in room.air con also and parking is outside the rooms. Small but adequate breakfast area and some retro originals around the site. Definitely recommend also try Reds Giant hamburger place up the road .

located on the rt66 trail, the motel is clean and very guest friendly. I would stay there again. Located in a very busy area with many business's in the area. Breakfast was good with enough options for this picky eater.

Following some fun finds on route 66. We didn't get the Elvis room but ours was very functional. Staff was very friendly and helped resolve a membership issue. Checked in late but able to direct us to a good diner close by.

This place has become our traditional stay when we visit Springfield during the Missouri State Football season. From the staff who go above and beyond to accommodate, to the attractive and comfortable rooms, this place is spot on! Close proximity to good restaurants and the campus. And the delicious hot breakfast offers nice selection to get you back on the road the next day.

Reception looks great with the old cars and gas pumps and even an English red telephone box. We didn't realise it was right on the main road (my fault for not doing enough homework). The communal area we decided to take a beer and sit down, but found a few undesirables (not guests) had already decided to use it as a gathering place. I felt uncomfortable which isn't like me, I'll chat to anyone. So we had our one beer each and returned to our room. The room was clean and good enough for one night. But I did expect more from the advertised photos. We ate at George's next door and it was a saviour.

This motel was chosen as I wanted to stay at a motel on Route 66. The motel has been well maintained and has been updated to current standards. The rooms were very clean. The front desk employees were very friendly and helpful. The only reason I have to mark it down is that the beds were hard and need updated. The A/C system in our room was very loud and made it hard to sleep. Breakfast is your normal hotel hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, biscuits, yogurt, fruit, etc. The pool was well maintained and a delight on our hot days in September. All in all I would definitely stay at this hotel again if in the Springfield area.

This hotel is perfectly located in the middle of Springfield, MO. We were able to easily access shopping, MSU, restaurants, and ice cream! The hotel is clean, staff is friendly, and it was quiet inside the room.

Easy to navigate to. Great being able to park right outside your door. Lovely, friendly staff. Breakfast included. Plenty of clean towels. Only thing was the pool and sun loungers weren't particularly clean.

Always very clean , staff is very nice and also like that they are dog friendly . I like that the floors are not carpeted. It is a very good value for your money .It is quiet and peaceful and it is near downtown .Plenty of parking and the pool was still open, was not aware of that or i would have brought a swim suit. Breakfast is good and also the coffee. Did not make use of the wifi but it is available. The square pillows in the room are not my favorite but they are alright . I also like the facility os decorated in Elvis theme and its pretty neat looking , like a blast from the past.

Loved this place - not your cookie cutter hotel. They really took time to get the decor right! Clean and spacious. Breakfast was good - eggs were hot & delicious. Place looked full so make a reservation!

It's not often that an en-route motel makes such an impression on you that you actually want to stay a second night, or plan a return trip...but the Rail Haven did just that for us. The place is meticulously clean and impressively decorated--it's got just the right balance between charm and history and modern conveniences to make the stay memorable. We'll definitely be back!

We stayed one night on our way to Branson. Check in was quick and friendly. Our room was very comfy. Remote didn't work well. And since it's an older establishment (that's been nicely updated) don't expect much of an exhaust fan in the bathroom. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Enjoyed our brief overnight stay. The room was nice and clean and they have kept the rooms up to date considering its age. Good water pressure. We were on the road frontage and were a little worried it would be noisy but we both got a great nights sleep. It's in a bit of an industrial neighborhood but very convenient if you're driving route 66. Breakfast was your usual nothing special and the breakfast area didn't seat many. I didn't try the pool but others enjoyed it. It's an outside pool and very refreshing. Overall lovely to see someone keeping route 66 history alive.

This Best Western is a great location to the University, Very clean, with pool and pavilion. Good breakfast options. Great pricing, Great central location not only to University but restaurants, Starbucks, drinking establishments and shopping. This is where I will always stay!

I loved this place. It truly takes you back in time, particularly to 1960s, the Golden years of Route 66. The personnel was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. And the swimming pool was a nice bonus. Would definitely stay there again if in Springfield, MO.

The Elvis Suite was a lot of fun. Bed was very comfortable, and the decor was very cute. (I especially enjoyed the photo of Elvis's mother from their visit in 1956. It was interesting to see how the room has changed.) Jacuzzi tub was perfect size for two. We had a minor issue with ants and jet cleanliness, but it was promptly addressed by the staff. This is a must-see for any other Elvis fans.

This motel has been around nearly forever, but it's been updated and kept very nice. Fun if you are into nostalgia. Rooms were clean and well furnished although a little tight. Front desk staff was very friendly and easy to visit with. Breakfast had a good variety. Didn't try the pool or hot tub. Only complaint was we had an end unit and got a lot of traffic noise from street rodders

Fantastic rte 66 motel , was everything I expected , rooms were small as they've always been but clean and comfortable for our 2 kids 15 and 11 and ourselves. Breakfast was good, pool was great and doesn't shut till 10pm , which as we're finding out is the norm in usa. Great neon and and truly fantastic rte 66 experience.

The Rail Haven is a historic motel from Route 66 that is attractive, comfortable and attracts visitors from all over the world. Please stay at the Elvis Presley room if possible. A great experience, wonderful decor and memories.

This is my favorite Best Western to stay at in the chain. Being a historic route 66 icon is also a plus! The staff is always awesome and the rooms are allays clean, conformable and get updated all the time. If you are in this area, this hotel is a must stay at one for you!

We checked in to Rail Haven on historic Route 66 and it was a nice place for the price. Friendly staff and remodeled rooms with faux wood flooring was, to me, much better than carpet. Free breakfast and swimming pool was an added bonus.

I drive between St. Louis and Phoenix at least once a year. Every trip I make sure to book this hotel. It is great. It is remniscient of yesteryear but with current day amenities. It is clean and convenient. If you have kids this is a must stay. If you remember driving cross country with your family this is a must stay. If you are a business person and like things sterile I would go down the road and stay at a newer hotel.

The hotel was approximately 5 min from campus. The hot tub and pool were very nice after a day of orientation. The breakfast is nice but get there early because it was crowded/ cramped getting the food but there were plenty of places to sit once you got your food. Floor in the room was a bit gritty which is reflected in the 4/5 rating. Otherwise, the property was great. We've reserved for move in and family weekends.

Nice Hotel on old Route 66. This motel was good for a night's stay. I would recommend staying here for a week if you had too. The hotel room was clean and large for two people. We had a room in the back of the property which was very quiet.

Room was just ok. We have stayed in this exact same room before and it was fine. This time the bed was worn out and several areas of maintenance were needed. Housekeeping wasn't terrible but could also be improved

Enjoyed the Rail Haven. Room and lobby are fun and retro. Outstanding staff! We checked in the evening of July 9th and were checked in by a very helpful male front desk clerk. The breakfast attendant, Val, was also excellent--she even packed us a brown bag snack for the road! Thanks, Val!

I have been coming to Route 66 over five years and have stayed for several days at a time. The service is great. The breakfast is good and you cannot beat the atmosphere. Lotsa of folks stay on the famous Route 66 and the conversations are excellent with them!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at The Rail Haven. We were impressed. The room was exceptionally clean when we arrived. It had cold AC on a 90 degree day. Pool and hot tub were very clean. Breakfast was more than expected and had something for all dietary needs.

Didn't know where to stay, so just looked on my phone. This place was awesome! Check in staff were wonderful, very attentive to our needs and very friendly. Rooms were clean, roomy and the beds were very comfortable. They even had big old style bathtubs!

Recently on a cross country trip we needed to get a motel in Springfield,Mo. I found this place on my phone and couldn't have been more impressed. The front desk staff were friendly and very attentive to making sure we had the type of rooms we needed. The rooms were great, roomy, the beds were so comfortable, which in comparison to the other places we stayed was awesome and they had bathtubs!! Good price for the accommodations. Would definitely recommend them if you are in the area.

Nice place to stay that is pet friendly in a good location. Front desk staff was friendly & very helpful at our check-in. The room was a little small but bed was very comfortable and all amenities worked well. I would stay here again.

I have stayed at the Best Western Real haven more than 20 times this year. The front house staff managers and all truly take care of their guest as if their family and their homes. Best Western will be my hotel of choice going forward

Stayed here one night on a Route 66 trip. Our room was clean and comfortable. I agree with another review about the cigarette ends & bottle caps everywhere outside, but you get what you pay for. Our room was close to the road and quite noisy. It was difficult to find anywhere nearby for a decent meal. We went over the bridge to a Mexican restaurant which was ok. Breakfast was quite good but served in such a small area that it was difficult to find a seat.

Stayed two nights. Two different rooms. Both felt damp and musty. Housekeeping not up to par on grounds or in rooms. Cigarette butts and beer bottle caps EVERYWHERE (a reflection of the typical guests?). Found hairs in tub on first night, trash on bathroom floor on second night. Hair dryer didn't work, tiny black gnats flying in one room (related to dampness perhaps), just didn't enjoy a good nights sleep on the second night. It is true that you get what you pay for.

One of the oldest but the finest experience on the trip. Customer Service Excellence. The rooms were very clean. The service desk especially Dalton. Can't say enough good things about this guy. The area had plenty of different food choices. Would definitely stay again.

The staff was superb! The 50's decor and cars were very well done. The family suite we stayed in was very clean and had comfortable beds. However, there was a very strong damp smell in our room, which we can still smell on our items after leaving the hotel. The kids said it smelled like feet. We hoped that keeping the AC running would help remove the smell, which it did not. Fortunately we only stayed one night, and we were not in the room for long, so we did not complain. If we need to stay longer, we probably would have requested a room change. The breakfast was good, but the Cheerios and granola were stale. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

This is a fantastic place to stay. Great experiance from check in to the time we left. Ricky was on the desk when we arrived, he is fantastic! He recognized our Platnum status and upgraded our room, Ricky is very friendly, helpful and professional. One of the best we have encountered. The motel is alyed out in a huge U shape with several different buildings, large grass areas, pools, a very nice eating area for the very good free breakfast and there is a diner located on the property. There are several dining places within easy walking distance. There is a great resturant across the street at the resort with very good food and reasonable prices. The building we were in had a back patio area opening on a large grass area and a front porch with chairs and table at both locations. Our room was very large and quite nice. The grounds are very nice and well maintained. The breakfast selections were great and covered most everything a person could want. The ticket taker at the cavern asked where we were staying and indicated Rail Haven is a faverate of the tourests he see. We have stayed at a lot of Best Western's in the western part of the USA and this experiance was among the best anywhere. If you are driving Route 66 this is a fantastic place to spend the night.

This hotel was the 1st best western hotel in the United States. It is an older hotel but very clean and comfortable. Beds and pillows were comfortable and room had everything you need including a refrigerator and microwave. The front desk staff were very nice too !

Amazingly comfortable and fun! Love the retro motels across America! This was quite possibly the cleanest and most comfortable I've been in! Place was almost packed but noise was a minimum, even with all the bikers! Slept crazy great! Bed linens were soft and mattresses were perfect. And the front desk help! From Dalton helping us get last minute rooms to our check out with Michael! It was like dalton knew what we needed before we asked! Great staff made an even better experience. Want to come back through Springfield just so I can stay here again!

The room and facilities are very clean and comfortable. We loved the vintage-style of the property. Great for a family or person on a budget, but with all the basic comforts needed. The breakfast was a little lacking, but not bad.

What a neat spot, right on 66, a vintage motel type, it has been on this spot since 1937. The rooms are nice and clean with all the modern updates, flat screen, pass cards for entry, modern heat/ac control. VERY NICE I would stay there again if we were in the area.

We stayed here for one night on our return to Nebraska from a cousin's reunion in a Tennessee. Check in was easy. Room was small but adequate for our stay. Very well maintained grounds. Lots of areas to sit and visit. Would stay again.

I wish I could give 100 star review. I commend the staff, our room was clean and the front desk staff was more than friendly and helpful. For an older hotel it is very well maintained. We stayed in the Elvis suite and it was awsome. They have a covered patio with TV and grills by the pool. The hotel and neighborhood was very quiet for being on a busy street. Lots of food choices on the street, I would recommend Freddie's and Longhorns.

What a gem. Not in the most traveled part of Springfield but close to everything. Hard to believe parts have been here since 1938. It is obvious that tg e hotel has been updated and well maintained. It is very clean and the grounds well kept. Our room was immaculate and smelled fresh. The RT 66 them is cute. Breakfast was above average and the area although was clean and well kept. One small problem was about a half inch gap under the door. We just laid a towel there however it was wide enough to admit critters. I want to stress we saw NO BUGS in thge room. I told them about it at checkout and they made a note of it and seemed glad I told them. We don't stay in Springfield often but when we do we will stay here. Great value for a clean safe place to stay.

We stayed overnight before going to the Wonders of Wildlife Museum. I loved that the rooms all had an outside entrance where you could park right in front of your room. They had patio style chairs on the sidewalk out front, so if you wanted to sit outside and visit you could. They also have a large pavilion type building with several tables and chairs and 2 gas grills that can be used by the guests. The pool and hot tub were well maintained. The hotel also has a great breakfast with sausage, eggs biscuits and gravy. Waffles and yogurt with a small toppings bar ( chocolate chips, sliced almonds, powdered sugar, granola, etc.) as well as the usual fruit, cereal bagels and juice. The staff at check in were very friendly and very helpful. This was our first time in the area so we had several questions and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely return to this hotel if I am in the area again.

What a great place .. the rooms are motel like but very spacious and clean with plenty of amenities. The parking is free and outside your room. The breakfast is complimentary and served in a very small section off the reception. There are only paper plates and dishes but there is plenty of choice of breakfast items for everyone including a waffle iron. A lovely cheap and cheerful place on Route 66.

This is a great hotel/motel with the rollback theme to the days of Route 66. The staff are unbelievably friendly and helpful. Check in and out was super easy. Breakfast is basic but gets you on your way. Rooms are clean, bed comfortable and bathrooms clean. Rooms have a fridge and microwave. Parking is in front of the room. There are places to eat within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.

This was our first time staying at this location...old school hotel with doors on the outside...nice to have your car parked right out front! Super clean room, very quaint, yet comfortable and modern! Loved the old gas pumps, cars, and neon signs! Great breakfast too! Friendly staff, close to the interstate, we would not hesitate to stay here again!

The wifi wasnt connecting to mine or my boyfriend phone at all, and the breakfast lounge was really WAY to small for everyone. But the room and the staffs were wonderful. I just wish the breakfast lounge was bigger.

We only spent one night here but was very pleased with the staff checking in and out. They were very helpful telling me directions to places we were wanting to see. We will definitely stay here again!

This place was so quaint and filled with memories of old Route 66... l couldn't take enough pictures/videos. Very clean and well maintained. Updated room, but still maintained its old charm. Breakfast was amazing... so many choices. l don't think I've ever encountered such a friendly staff as a group. They even allowed us to checkout the “Elvis” room before we left.

Great location that is close to a lot of different activities. The rooms were small by modern standards but still very functional. The decor is very 50's as others have said. That being said, you will not want for modern conveniences. A word of warning, most rooms do have a big step in and/or are on a hill which might pose some mobility challenges in the standard rooms. We did not get an accessible one, so not sure if they have rooms that are easier.

Rail haven 66 motel is a classic old motel that had been remodeled with a cool 50's vibe. Very clean. People at check in super nice! Great breakfast. Loved the classic cars parked out front. Will be back!!!

We have spent every spring break for the last eight years in Springfield attending the National Christian Homeschool Basketball Championships with both boy's and girl's varsity teams. The staff at this hotel has always been very accommodating to our groups. This location has family rooms, which are helpful when traveling with athletes, as well as an outdoor pavilion that we were able to use for group potluck meals as well as evening fellowships. Not a new hotel and not a 5 star but it is a nice, family friendly establishment.

Just was a very enjoyable route 66 experience that we were actually not expecting. Everything was clean and welcoming, but the history and route 66 ambiance was a pleasant surprise. Particularly enjoyed the impromptu blue-grass gathering in the lobby. The breakfast bar was standard but nothing special.

I want to find every review site I can to rave about this place. So, let me start by saying my last hotel experience was with a 4 star Westin hotel in downtown Dallas, and it was AWFUL. A terrible experience, with rude people who tried to charge me for things I didn't ask for, figuring I wouldn't say anything. They steal from their guests. (Obviously still salty about it, but side note: don't stay at the downtown Dallas Westin). So my attitude going into this was like exhausted and just wanting a place to sleep with some free WiFi; I didn't have any standards anymore or anything. But wow, this place made me SO happy. It makes a HUGE difference when the people working the front desk, the FIRST faces you see, are smiling at you and super friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in was super clean, the bed was comfy, and I could park my car literally right outside my room so it was super convenient. It has a super cool retro feel to it, I'm guessing as a homage to it being on historic Route 66. This is someplace I would absolutely tell my parents, or anyone else, to stay in. I really hope I get another chance to. Thank you if anyone who works there reads this!

This is a great historic and iconic motel and great for the price. The staff is always super friendly and professional and they make your stay more enjoyable! For the age of this complex, it is always very clean and up-kept, even better than hotels a quarter of its age ..

The room was very nice for the amount it cost. My only complaint is that there was a youth group (huge group) that stayed the same time as us and they were awake and causing A LOT of noise starting at 6am. My guest and I could not sleep in because of noise so we left way before checkout time.

If you are old enough to remember any experience with Route 66, you will enjoy this place. It has been excellently remodeled with a retro 1950's Route 66 theme and is dripping with nostalgia. Mementos everywhere recalling the glory days of the Mother Road. Our room was very clean and comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast, although the dining area is small, is efficient and offered several hot food selections which were well prepared and fresh. This will be our regular place to stay whenever we are in Springfield.

I had driven past this hotel a couple of times on other visits and the tribute to route 66 I liked. This trip I ensured we would have a night in Springfield. The hotel didn't disappoint and we loved it. The front desk area is awesome and has information and pictures of route 66. The old cars had a cool element. The rooms were comfortable and I loved the vintage style bathroom. I definitely hope to spend another night here some day.

I often stay at the Rail Haven Best Western in Springfield, MO because of the rates and service offered by hotel staff. Rooms are always clean and I appreciate the pet friendly rooms offered by this hotel.

My husband and I just stayed here for one night. The room was small but Very clean. Bed was comfortable but pillows were very thin, thankfully I always pack my own pillow. The room was very cold when we arrived but warmed up quickly with the ac/heater. The price was right for what you get. Breakfast was good and they even had almond milk which I never see at a complimentary breakfast bar. I would stay again. One other comment would be that we drive a large truck and found some of the turns in the parking lot a challenge it would be very difficult to park a trailer in some of the spaces here. The decor is somewhat retro for the Route 66 traveler.

We've stayed here twice on our way through and love it! I grew up in the era of motor lodges and I find them so much more comfortable than hotels. No loud guests running up and down the halls or clomping on the floor above. You feel like you're in your own cozy cabin. I love parking outside my room and being able to walk right outside my door. We traveled with our small dog and it was so convenient taking him out to do his business. They only charged a $10 fee as well! This BW Route 66 Rail Haven is so quaint, cozy and fully updated. You'll take a step back in time to when motor lodges were the place to stay! The rooms are immaculate and updated with the latest amenities but the decor remains true to the era. The staff are so friendly and accommodating and immediately make you feel welcome! We will always choose this hotel for our stay when we're in the area!

This is not your usual Best Western. The room was very small. The bathroom was standing room only for one and was missing the lotion and shampoo (so much for washing my hair). I could see the outside from the inside through the door that was only one large step away from the door. I felt cold all night long. The 'questionable' hotel just down the road was a much better value. The only redeeming factor was the staff.

We didn't actually stay at the property, but want to recommend it as a tourist destination for those interested in Route 66. The reception area is like a mini-museum with an amazingly obliging young man called Dalton. He gave us souvenirs and tourist brochures and told us all the vintage cars on the ground were unlocked and available for photos. And best of all -- since it was clean and unoccupied -- he took us around to have a look at "the Elvis room," the unit where the 14-year-old Elvis and his mother once stayed. All in all, it was a delightful look into the past! We were impressed at how kind and generous Dalton was in allowing us to look around even though we weren't paying guests of the property. True "Mid-west nice" hospitality!

Rail Haven is classic Route 66 motel. It's located at the corner of E St Louis St and Glenstone Ave. There are many other Route 66 motels in the vicinity, especially north on Glenstone, but almost all of the other motels are somewhat rundown and near the end of their lives. Not so with Rail Haven. This is a very nicely maintained property. If you look close, you can identify the older cut stone that marks the original cabins. However, these cabins have been swallowed by the multiple expansions that have taken place over the years. I suspect there is little if any difference now between the older motel units and the newer ones. Multiple remodeling projects have left little of the old still in place. But there is still plenty of character here. When you check in, you're greeted with retro '50s decor at the check in desk. And just outside sits a classic old car and antique gas pumps. The classic neon Rail Haven sign still sits at the northwest corner of the property, as well as miniature examples of the old split rail fences that gave this property its name. Breakfasts are included with the price of the rooms and include biscuits and gravy (okay, although the biscuits tend to dry out), scrambled eggs (basic, but decent), juices, coffee, other options. There are three or four themed rooms. They claim Elvis once stayed in their Elvis Room. We stayed in the room themed on Elvis' long-time guitarist John Wilkinson. That room has a whirlpool bath, but otherwise the room is quite small. The hotel is just a short drive from downtown Springfield. You'll be in a great location for exploring the area. You can follow Route 66 to the west side of town, As you head west, you'll encounter many old Route 66 motels that are now shuttered and in an advanced state of repair (good photo opportunities for those people who appreciate a little decay in their nostalgia). If you get your expectations set right, Rail Haven is an excellent experience. This is an old style motel, built for the motor travellers of yesteryear. Not much modern elegance here, but loads of nostalgic charm. We used Rail Haven as our base for three days as we visited the Wonders of Wildlife Museum and Aquarium at Bass Pro, and then headed into the Ozarks on a trek in search of fall leaf colors (although Maple Park Cemetery has maybe the best fall color that you'll find anywhere and it's in the heart of Springfield). If you're in the area to experience Route 66, this is the place to stay. There are definitely fancier places, but none do a better job of turning back the clock and staying true to the Route 66 spirit.

Our stay here was wonderful! It was close to Branson and to a large selection of restaurants. The hotel was immaculate and the clerks were beyond wonderful. We highly recommend this comfortable lodging!!!!

While I did not expect the Ritz, we were a bit disappointed. There certainly was not much room for moving around, the first room we were given must have had a leak. We opened the door and there were lots of towels around the fridge that must have leaked and the room smelled musty and mildewed. We went back to the office and the clerk was very nice. We were given another room and it was fine but very small. I realize all the motels built during that time period were like this. But I guess since they advertise a king size bed, I assumed the room would be a bit bigger. I will say it was very very clean and quiet. Did not try the breakfast as the eating area was claustrophobic.

Without doubt one of the favorite motels I have stayed in during my lifetime. Upon I was warmly welcomed by the staff. The staff was very helpful and friendly. This is my go-to motel when traveling to Springfield for business. I love the nostalgia of the rooms and the feel of ,stepping back in time, each time I enter the room, but wit the amenities of the present. I can't say enough how much I enjoy this motel. Thank you Best Western for making my stay in Springfield awesome.

Nice hotel for an overnight pass through. Room was cozy and breakfast was good. The eating area is limited but still able to get the job done. Have the old cars around definitely gives you the old Route 66 feel.

On a Route 66 tour and was told the Rail Haven was a 'must' stay. It was okay. Our friends stayed in the Elvis room. They stated that the bed was comfortable. The shower was great but bathroom overall could of been cleaner. We had the Marilyn Monroe room which was a waste of money. The room did not feel clean and the shower was awful and bed uncomfortable. Bottom line, it looked like a 'icon' motel from the outside but that's it.

I liked the old cars and the old route 66 feel of the place. The check in guy seemed to dress and look like the cruising days of the 66. He was very friendly and quite helpful. He sent me to the correct place for me to eat dinner. My room was dated but very clean with a great comfy bed. The hot biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs was very good. Check out was easy. I would stay again.

Rail Haven is our "go to" hotel when we visit our kids in Springfield. It is an excellent value. We enjoy the historic ambiance and have often met friendly and interesting guests at the delicious breakfast buffet. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended

I had passed the Rail Haven on a previous trip and planned on staying when I was in town again. Was able to on this trip and was happy I did. Friendly service, clean, quiet, and comfortable. The rooms are small but nicely decorated. The motel keeps it's classic motor lodge charm, but with updated amenities.

A great night in the 50s themed Rail Haven. We enjoyed the smart, well-equipped, clean rooms and did the obligatory photos with the vintage cars with white-walled tyres. The breakfast was very high quality, sitting on chromed bar stools. The staff were fantastic - friendly and knowledgeable on the local area with recommendations on paces to eat etc. The hotel is just a couple of minute's drive from downtown Springfield, which is an interesting arty and studenty town.

Check in service was the best part of the stay, Room was very small hard for 2 people to.move, vintage 60's motel in bad news of update more like place you would pay 25 to $30 a night instead of high cost that paid, hot breakfast was lukewarm . Desk clerk on check not friendly and I'm interested I would it recommend staying here unless desperate Love BE just not this one just does not stand up to the brand.Name

Driving from Nashville to Wichita, we chose to stay here for a night to break up the drive. We chose this motel because of the historic Route 66 tie in & vintage motel vibes. We loved it. Our room was very clean, beds comfortable & the hotel staff was helpful & gracious. Would definitely recommend & stay here again if we ever get back out that way.

We were booked into stay here on our Route 66 trip, when arriving I was sure weren't going to have a decent nights sleep so close to the road. The welcome at reception was great, they were informative, gave us ideas of where we could walk too. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we were able to enjoy the pool area. Breakfast was good, and the hospitality was second to non. It's a very welcoming, clean, well maintained motel which we thoroughly enjoyed staying in.

Our family booked two rooms for one night, for a college visit. This is an unusual property as it is clear that the older hotel has been very well maintained for a very long time. There was simply no sign of ignored maintenance and on the contrary there were many small touches of "homeyness" such as having a wrought iron chair on the concrete walkway outside of every room. Our rooms were very clean and decorated in a 60's pallette of colors, and the laminate floors were very welcome. A good price makes this hotel very easy to recommend. We'll stay at this hotel again the next time we visit Springfield.

Needed a one-night stay in the Springfield MO area and to not pay a fortune, this fit the bill. Yes, it's an old property in an older part of Springfield and it looks it - that's how it's meant to be as it's a historic motel on Route 66 from 1938! No, you won't have ALL the bells and whistles, but you will get a cozy room with comfortable beds, cable TV, free Wi-Fi, and several other amenities without breaking the bank. Seasonal pool and hot tub are available, as well as themed Jacuzzi suites (did not stay in this).Desk staff were friendly and efficient during check-in/out, and we especially appreciated Heather's handling of a room change due to a previous guest having smoked heavily in our original room (this is a smoke-free motel). No fuss, no drama, she gave us a new room card and invited us to inspect the room before committing to it, found no problems at all. For being fully booked that night, the property was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night as well. I've paid twice the money to be assaulted with 5 times the noise so this was a pleasant surprise!All told, I have no problem recommending Route 66 Rail Haven to fellow travelers!

Everything seemed brand new, fixtures bed, carpeting, paint, etc. But it is done in vintage route 66 style. It has all the comforts of a modern motel room with very well done route 66 decor. The rooms are small but fine for one or two nights. A must for route 66 travelers and fans.

My son and I stayed here when we attended CaveCon in the last weekend of September. Although we do a lot of walking, and the distance from this motel to the convention center was well within a normal walk for us, I was concerned about the location. The hotel - which was fully booked that weekend - is in a decent location and the walk to the convention center and MSU is a pleasant and safe one. The motel itself is clean and nicely decorated, although our room was small (which I expect from an older property). The staff for the most part (exception being a young woman) were very friendly and helpful. I would most definitely stay at this motel again.

Great decor, awesome look to the hotel. Bad mildew smell in the room coming from the bathroom. It was obvious they tried to paint over the mold on the ceiling and did a horrible job. The jacuzzi was nasty and I had to clean it before using it. Just not the best stay. The bed was great and once I closed the bathroom door the smell died down. Only room I've ever stayed in that had a dehumidifier in the room running with the excuse of, "It's there because of the jacuzzi." I've never had a dehumidifier in a room with a jacuzzi before. The front desk clerk was great. Still, most likely won't be back to this location if I can help it.

We have never stopped in a motel before so I approached this night with trepidation and this was the third stop on our Route 66 tour as arranged by ATI and Virgin Holidays. The room was comfortable and clean and had every amenity one would need for a one night pit stop, after all we were following in the footsteps of Elvis back in the day. There was a pool although we didn't have the time to partake as we went into town for dinner. I slept relatively well however my husband had a poor night - the walls were thin and he was treated to the sound of amorous neighbours on one side and loud all night chatting and boozy laughter on the other. For me it was a pleasant surprise but for him an unfortunate first foray into motelling!!

My husband and I booked this online in the evening during a long drive, so we obviously didn't pay attention to the details and were surprised it was a motel - we have only stayed in regular hotels so far on our trip. We arrived late in the evening and checked in. The lady at the counter was friendly and welcoming, and gave us a map marked with the location of our room. We moved the car over, parked outside the room and took our bags in, a bit too tired to pay much attention. The room was basic but clean, tiny bathroom but with nice toiletries. We went straight to sleep and oh the bed was amazing. We had a room with a king bed, it was huge and sooo comfortable. In fact it was so good we missed the free breakfast the next morning because we just wanted to lie there all day. Eventually we dragged ourselves up and walked over to reception to check out, passing the vending machines, pool area (the pool itself was empty, under maintenance I think) and checking out the classic cars and fuel pumps which we'd somehow completely missed the previous evening! The lady checking us out was wonderful and chatty. A thoroughly restful stay, didn't hear much traffic at all. Shame we missed breakfast, but that bed...

Rooms are cozy/small for a King. Overall, an ok visit. - Good - MSU discount; close to MSU; free breakfast with hot and cold food with a decent variety;cute retro decor';clean;friendly staff; microwave and mini fridge in room. Not so good: unpleasant odor upon entering the room (this is the second stay and the issue was the same); could not control the hot water - burn, baby, burn; small/cozy room (depends on how you look at it); price without MSU discount.. May try somewhere else next time, just to check on other hotels in Springfield. This is the 3rd hotel we've stayed @ and the 2cnd time staying at this location.

We stayed here for MSU's parent weekend and enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and the staff were very helpful. We also used this same hotel when we came for summer orientation and district high school basketball championships. Every time we walked away happy with our visit.

If you are ever in the area, you should stay here! Very cool 50's vibe! Love the decor of the rooms and the lobby! But, even better - this place is very clean and well maintained! And the staff are very friendly and helpful! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the rooms are pretty small (which just makes you realize how spoiled we have all become!)

Great hotel in the 1950s theme and decor. Many historical pieces, photographs, and artifacts to enjoy. Breakfast was excellent and the staff loves working there, which makes them much more helpful and pleasant than hotels where the staff doesn't like what they do.

This vintage hotel is a perfect little place to stay with a great history behind it. The rooms including the lobby are very nice and clean with wonderful memorabilia. Even though its right off the highway, it feels like a little oasis.

Our one-night stay was very pleasurable. The room was very clean and comfortable. Although the breakfast area is small, there was no problem with people eating and moving on - it's a motel and this area is very functional and people aren't usually spending a long time over breakfast as they need to get away. The staff are very friendly, polite and professional. One suggestion I have; why not swap the positions of the tourist leaflets with the souvenir case so that the souvenirs are by the front door and there won't be the chance of someone missing them!

Travelling route 66. Arrived late and tired. Check in was easy and staff friendly. Room was easy to get to 119. Park right outside. Room had a microwave and fridge and coffee machine. Had breakfast in the morning and checked out to head on our travels.

We stay here every trip we go through Springfield when traveling from Texas to Missouri. The rooms and property are always clean and very well kept. The room I had last time had been recently remodeled and updated. The breakfast has very good biscuits and gravy along with other regular cereal and other items. The bathroom is a bit small, but this is due to keeping the hotel original and it's not that big of an inconvenience. The rates here are always very good, especially for how clean the rooms are and the high level of customer service you will receive. Plus the cool factor of having the Route 66 theme, old restored cars, gas pumps, etc.

This was my third year in a row staying at the Rail Haven. Even though prices are getting a little steep the motel delivers with a friendly staff, well-appointed rooms and a few extras like a large pavilion where where friends can gather in the evening. I've already made reservations for next year.

We accompanied our granddaughter to MSU to help get her moved in for her freshman year. Hotel was close to school and centrally located. Lots of great restaurants nearby. The hotel was clean and employees friendly and helpful.

I stay here as often as possible, and am disappointed when it is full and I cant get in. Trust me, if it books up early, there is a reason. The best hotel in Springfield for the money. It is a little out of the city center, but well worth it. Small original rooms, tastefully decorated and impeccably clean, but still holds the nostalgia. Great pool in season, a full sized one with spa, which is far better than the postage stamp sized ones at most hotels. Outdoor picnic/meeting area, with TV, a great place to go in the spring, summer, and fall to just sit and relax, talk etc. Small breakfast area, with a great breakfast, sometimes no space to eat, but the breakfast is worth it, always full of food, never waiting for coffee to be refilled or anything like that. Incredibly friendly staff, very professional and attentive. Motel style rooms with their own exterior entrances. Old timey charm, with antique cars and gas pumps. I wish I could write a bad review to keep everyone else from learning about my favorite Springfield hotel, but they deserve a great review, and I'll just have to keep making my reservations earlier and earlier!

Nice rooms but too close to a loud intersection. Also, I had requested a quiet room when I set up my reservation by phone. My request was ignored. And I had very little sleep due to being so close to the street.

Old Rt. 66 motel, little bit of nostalgia. Not fancy but clean, decour in good shape. Always busy but rooms were quiet, exept for a/c unit. Breakfast area quite small, average motel free breakfast, edible about all can be said. Comfortable beds, decent shower. Parking lot tight, but plenty of spots, nice to be able to park a few feet from room door.

Great staff, very nice, new clean rooms, yummy breakfast, beautiful pool, hot tub, large covered outdoor seating area with huge flat screen TV, great location just minutes from downtown and most places we visited. Fun, vintage decor. Very family and pet friendly! If you visit Springfield, this is a wonderful place to stay! :)

This hotel was adequate. It met the need for a roof. However it was only a $69 per night motel and not a $109 per night hotel. The rooms were external entrance and they had a horrible perfume type scent pumped into the room. It was so potent that it gave me a headache and caused my clothes to smell like it as well. It had a nice breakfast and breakfast area. If you want a place to have a roof over your head this is okay.

This made the third time my family stayed here, it's always clean and the staff is always so friendly. We always enjoy staying here. The Rail Haven Inn is conveniently located near restaurants and very close to the Empire Fairgrounds. We highly recommend staying here.

This was a nostalgic motel on Route 66. We loved the decor. Staff super friendly. Breakfast was your standard fare but the lobby/dining area made it seem extra special. Our room was very clean and we had no problems whatsoever.

This is a great motel to stay in particularly fun if you are on Route 66. It has some iconic cars parked at the front and old gas station pumps to remind you of the Mother Road. The BW are really good value offering free breakfasts and clean comfortable rooms. Whilst the motel is older than most the room are beautifully decorated with matching comfy chairs, lovely light bathrooms, it is a lite more individual than the BW we have stayed in en route. Great service theory down was the breakfast was more limited that other BW we have stayed in fewer choices of pastries and fresh fruit/cereal. However the front desk was helpful and has lots of info on Springfield and good maps etc. Great Pool

We booked this motel as part of our Route 66 trip, as it was is one of the original motels on the route. Very busy the day we arrived as a large group of Harley Davidson riders who we had come across the day before on Route 66 were also checking in and another couple who we had also met the day before. Staff were very patient with everyone. We checked in and went off to our room (311) The room was an updated room, which was a good size, clean and a comfy bed. There was everything in the room you could possibly need, the bathroom being retro and part original fittings. Breakfast was good, if a little crowded, but everyone happily chatting and plenty of food to go around. Would stay again if ever in the area again. Loved the old gas pumps and classic cars outside!!

This motel has been a part of the old Route 66 since the 30's. We stayed there when we went to our grandson's graduation. It has a rustic feeling of the old motels we stayed in when we were growing up. Very friendly staff and a nice breakfast buffet is provided.

Hotel was quite, extremely clean, had a good hot breakfast, the breakfast seating area is small but there are tables outside and a large pavilion nearby with plenty of tables. Has large pool and hot tub. . Staff very pleasant and helpful.Resonably priced. Although we didn't stay in one, there are themed rooms available

We stayed here as part of our Chicago to LA Route 66 road trip. It is right on the route. The rooms are refurbished and reminiscent of the 50's and 60's when I went on vacation as a child. The bathroom is small without the large counter we are used to today. That's okay - it needs to stay authentic. The beds were small, but very comfortable. Loved the neon sign! The outdoor poor, again brought back memories of traveling as a child. There were several other Route 66 travelers staying there. The breakfast is okay - nothing to write home about. The breakfast space is quite tight, but there is outdoor seating, if desired. Unfortunately, we arrived at breakfast at the same time as several others. I don't enjoy tight quarters first thing in the morning.

If you're on a Route 66 trip, you have to stay here. Wonderfully retro themed motel with modern features. The staff is very friendly. They serve a great breakfast including waffles, biscuits and sausage gravy, and eggs. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed in 8 hotels in 8 days on a road trip and this was the favorite for our family of four. This is the classic Route 66 motel that has been updated to a “retro modern” feel. This is definitely a must visit when traveling Route 66.

We booked the Elvis Suite after reading about it in our Route 66 guidebook. Have no idea what the other rooms are like but it is absolutely worth splashing out on the Elvis Suite as it is unique and really quite sensational. The motel has friendly service, a nice pool and a good breakfast.

We love staying at the Rail Haven every summer when we travel to Springfield to see a ballgame or two with the Springfield Cardinals. Rail Haven is located close to the stadium, close to the mall. It's a fun trip back in time, with the decor of the 50's, it's clean, the breakfast is great, and the staff are very accommodating.

3rd stay here and agin did not disappoint, great R66 themed public areas, good level of maintaining the property and rooms. On this occasion the wifi was a bit flaky, that may have been because we had a room at the rear of the property, had not had that issue before. Overall a very good stay

Stayed here a night on our Route 66 Trip. Old era style motel of single level where you park at the front of the unit. It has a small breakfast cafe and a large pool. Room and Bed were clean and comfortable. Would recommend to all.

Check-in staff were friendly and very helpful. Enjoyed staying in the Elvis Room - unlikely to ever forget the pink Cadillac bed! This motel is a real treasure on historic Route 66. Only a short drive to downtown, but just a little too far to walk back at night. This was one of the highlights of my Route 66 trip.

This place is immaculate. Room has hardwood floors, fridge, microwave. The whole place is well lit and they had a place for me to park my truck and trailer. Pool and hot tub area along with the picnic pavilion are very nice. Breakfast had sausage links, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, juice, etc.

Very friendly staff. Easy parking. The room was clean. The bathroom fittings were quite hard to turn, some people would possibly not be strong enough to turn the stiff taps. There was a fridge and microwave, and the normal coffee supplies with the standard horrible substitute milk powder. Our pet hate, as ususal, the plastic shower curtain. The TV was large enough. The aircon was extremely loud so we had to leave it off at night. The beds were two large singles, so sleeping wasn't great. Outside was a great covered area where you could take your breakfast. The pool was right beside that. The hotel advertises that Elvis stayed there.

We were in town for a large car show. This hotel was a perfect location to get to the fair grounds where the car show was held. The atmosphere at this hotel was wonderful. Great staff and the rooms were very comfortable and clean.

Wanted a nostalgia place to stay while at SPYDERFEST and Route 66 and I found it at Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven. It sits on Route 66 and was easy to get to all the places I needed to go to and also attractions. The motel is older and rooms are decorated nicely and are comfortable and brings you back to thoughts of years past. Continental breakfast was available every day and was warm. I have stayed at places where the breakfast was cool. All staff go above and beyond to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Glad I found this Motel and will stay there again if I return to the area

This is a historic motel with nice nostalgic touches but all is in excellent condition and well kept. If it was good enough for Elvis, it is good enough for me. Fun to see the old 50's Fords and gas pumps. Rooms are very clean and well maintained. Had a great stay there and would highly recommend. Good central location close to I 44. Lots of restaurants close by. Didn't use the outdoor pool but it looked very nice. All staff were excellent. Desk clerk even walked me to the ice machine so that I could find it easily

We decided to stay here based on the reviews we read and found it to be very quaint. When we checked in we were greeted by a very personable front desk attendant and he gave us a lot of the history on the area. This is your typical hotel from years ago where you park outside your room. It's located just around the corner from Route 66.

Good clean motel, with friendly Staff, easy situation, and very relaxed, good comfy rooms, but a walk to nearest Restaurant or bars, mostly grills locally, you get a 10% discount up the road in one of the diners.

This is a great motel. Vintage in appearance, but well maintained, quiet and well appointed. It is a great surprise for anyone who comes this way. It is a a place we put on our plan evey time we are in the area. The rooms are well decorated and the grounds are beautiful.

We stayed in this tradition Route 66 hotel as part of our journey to Santa Monica following the traditional route. The hotel was great, very clean tidy and has a great history. The check in guy was great, unlike the breakfast staff who were rude and didn't even speak! The location isn't great as it's out of the main downtown area, but the hotel made up for that in its old world charm.

We will be repeaters when staying in Springfield, Mo.. The place is ultra clean, comfortable, quiet and staff very friendly. They have maintained the atmosphere of travel along Rt. 66 in its heyday for couples and families. Convenient location to many of the museums and sights of the area.

Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven is my go-to hotel when I'm in Springfield. It's close to campus, close to restaurants and shopping. It's an old 1950s motel that's been renovated and remodeled. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast buffet is ample, and the staff is always friendly and professional.

This hotel appears to have been acquired by Best Western and updated to reflect their brand while maintaining some of it's original historical appeal. It's really a great hotel for a weekend stay! Our room was clean and spacious. Though the furniture wasn't updated, it was clean and well kept. I'd rather pay a bit less for a space that is clean, though perhaps a bit outdated. Our room felt very private and quiet though guests were in the rooms beside us each night of our stay. The bed was comfortable, the microwave and refrigerator were super convenient, good water pressure in the shower, and the WiFi was fast (and free!). The hotel offers a hot breakfast in the rooms adjacent to the hotel office. Though the space is small it is pretty efficient. Breakfast includes eggs, gravy and biscuits, breakfast meat, cereal, fruit, yogurt, coffee, etc. Lots of stuff and well stocked by the staff - much appreciated! Because we visited in early April the pool was still closed but it looked like a nice area. Overall this is a great hotel at a good price, we would stay here again.

Not my usual place to stay, but it was nice, clean, modern updates, etc. Staff were so friendly. The parking lot is TIGHT and only one entrance/exit which wasn't ideal. There is not real counter space in the bathroom.

Hotel is really a great value. Breakfast area is very small, that's the only downfall. If you want a clean, quiet place to stay while visiting the campus this is a great value. Will be staying again for sure.

This is a clean well kept property. The bed and room was comfortable. The breakfast was good. This was the second time we've stayed here and would do so again. The price was reasonable and the young man who checked us in was very polite and efficient.

I love staying at the BW Rail Haven when I can. Their new remodel is fantastic and the rooms look great! I love the history of the hotel and the attention to detail that they do to keep this history alive. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and I appreciate being able to park right in front of my room. The staff is amazing and work hard to make your experience a good one. I won't stay anywhere else!

I visited Springfield to watch my daughter at a horse show. I stay at Best Westerns because you can expect clean, comfortable rooms and excellent service. This BW did not disappoint! The room was clean and the retro décor/vibe was fun. The bed was comfortable and I love when an extra blanket is provided. Parking was plentiful and well-lit. Everything worked in the room and the Wi-Fi was fast. The front desk staff was really friendly and one of them checked to make sure everything was satisfactory shortly after I checked in (and she laughed at my jokes when i went to go print my boarding pass). The hotel is also well situated to restaurants and shopping. I was traveling by myself and I felt safe. If I ever am in Springfield again I would definitely stay here again.

Everything went overall smooth. The staff were nice and quick to get us everything setup for our stay. The breakfast was pretty good compared to most. Would stay again. Could be about $10 a night cheaper. Would recommend!

We've stayed at Rail Haven several times when traveling and love the fact that it's different. Cute, quiet and comfortable, a great road trip find. We always book a room off the road, but traffic seems to die down quickly after rush hour, and the rooms are always very quiet. The location is great for finding dining options, and is not far from downtown, Missouri State or Bass Pro.

Great place to stay for an economical weekend. Very clean rooms with all the necessities. The rooms are simple and old school. You drive up to your room door and unload without any stairs or elevator. Very nice and helpful staff.

This is an iconic historic Route 66 hotel where the staff is both professional and friendly and go the extra steps to perfect your stay. When in the area you stay where Elvis did before and also get treated like a King!

We liked the comfortable room. It was roomy and updated. The room had a roll-in shower and provided a shower chair. The staff was nice. We were there for an appointment at Mercy Hosp which was 10 minutes away.

Very clean room! We decided to stay in Springfield on the spur the moment. We found this old school motel online. It's been taken over by the Best Western. Small no-frills rooms are clean and well worth the money. They have a pool as well but it's on a main road and wasn't open during our stay.

I spent several hours searching the internet for a spur the moment hotel to book, for fairly cheep. From what I could tell this one had pretty good reviews so I decided to take the risk and book a room.... and I'm glad I did! My husband and I loved our stay. The price was reasonable, and it was a very cozy room. Smaller than I expected, but comfortable. The bed was comfy, and the room looked and smelled very clean. (A big deal to me!) Breakfast was also surprisingly good. Typical hotel breakfast products, but tasted better than most others! The Route 66 vintage theme was charming and classy. Definitely will stay here again.

We couldn't wait to come to this hotel for our 2 nite stay. There were plenty route 66 signs around this area to get your pics with. The hotel looked exactly as it did in the pics and didn't disappoint. First impressions of the hotel on arrival was it looked like Kellermans from Dirty Dancing. Parking I like the fact that you could just park outside your room and there seemed to be plenty of spaces. Reception/Check in On arrival we were warmly greeted by staff. Reception area is not very big. Plenty leaflets about with various places to visit. We were checked in quickly and advised where our room was. Outside reception is a fantastic old classic car where you can get pics and there are old petrol pumps outside too. There is also an old phone booth as well as plaques saying Route 66. Breakfast The breakfast are ins't very big but when we were there we it was never busy. There are few booths and some table and chairs. There was plenty of choice from biscuits and gravy to pastries and toast, cereals, juice and water. Not a big buffet but what they had was enough. We enjoyed our bfast on both days. the coffee machine bit trciky to use but staff always there to lend a hand. Staff All staff we spoke with were very friendly and welcoming. they were also very helpful if you were needing any assitance. Facilities There was a swimming pool and loungers which we didn't use as was a tad cold. A lovely hot tub directly opposite our room. It wasn't very big but i tried it one nite about 7pm and it was roasting and just what you need after a day of walking. There were chairs next to hot tub to relax. There was also an undercover are with seats, a TV and you could sit there and enjoy a beer watching old TV programmes. Room We had a lovely 2 double bed room. The beds were extremely comfy, enough pillows and blankets. The rooms are decorated in a style from the 50/60s but that's what this hotel is about. It was very clean. Plenty of storage for your clothes etc. TV was fine and showed a variety of channels. Bathroom wasn't huge but big enough for 2 nights. Lovely hot shower and free toiletries. Some seats outside your room and can hang wet swimming costumes to dry or sit and watch the stars. Overall we loved this hotel and would defo come back, recommend to people and if your looking for a different hotel stay and love the 50s/60s then this is the perfect place for you.

Relive the old days. Rooms that have that Historic Route 66 flare. Clean and comfortable. You almost expect to see Elvis at breakfast; he did stay here once. Old cars. Great breakfast. Wonderful staff. Excellent dining options nearby. Definitely the place to stop when visiting Springfield or passing by in I 44. I know I will stop again!

Definitely would not recommend this hotel. You can do better, cheaper, somewhere else. We booked this online because of the car-themed suite, called the week before to verify the room and were told that was the room we booked. Showed up and were given a regular suite, called the desk and they just said "Sorry, that one is booked." Suite was ugly and dated, bed and pillows awful, heater cycled between ice cold and too hot to sleep. Just an overall, terrible stay. Night before our stay, Springfield got covered in ice. Management didn't salt the parking lot at all. Couldn't even drive up and park near your room because of the ice. Only place they sprinkled salt was under the overhangs where there wasn't even ice. Extremely disappointed in this hotel.

Stayed two nights in Springfield so my son could audition at the college. Decided to stay here after reading reviews and it was well worth the price. Rooms are decorated well and are extremely clean. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and even though the area is small, there was always an open table. You could also take the food back to your room. It was a fun place to stay and we will stay again.

I would stay here again if in the area. I prefer hotels with interior corridors. Couldn't tell from the internet pictures. Staff was very friendly. Bed was ok not as comfortable as I'm used to. A/C was a bit noisy.

Went to Springfield for an afternoon lunch/shopping date with my awesome wife. When we came out from lunch, the snow began to stick and pile up. We saw at least 3 wrecks and decided to stay. I booked the Rail Haven and was surprised at how nice it is. Very clean. Retro design and nice rooms. We will definitely be back!

You never really know what to expect when you read someone else's reviews because everyone has different opinions but this place was the BEST!!!! The front desk clerks were amazing, so kind and welcoming. The rooms were so nice and comfortable, you could tell they were recently renovated but they held true to the nostalgia of Route 66 motor courts. This is truly a gem off the beaten path that is worth the stay.

I wish we had a rason to go to Springfield, MO more often, just so we could stay at this cute hotel! We loved everything about it! It was vintage cool, but they had updated the rooms so they were very clean and new-looking, while retaining the old-school charm (they didn't look like some corporate board-member had decorated them, I mean. They had CHARM). The girl at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great. We would definitely stay here again.

We had to make a trip to check on a friend who was in the hospital. This was the reason for our overnight stay in town. She was not doing real well. Having problems with heart and kidneys. If she doesn't get better we may be making another trip. I think that the 200 minimum for this box is too many.

Wonderful motel. Rooms clean, staff friendly, beds comfortable. Everything you need in a place to stay the night. I have paid more money to stay in rooms that were not nearly this nice. Great place to stay while in Springfield.

We enjoy staying at this hotel. It is close to what we enjoy doing in town. The jacuzzi and themed rooms are fun. It is pretty quiet even being right off the highway. Beds are comfortable. Rooms clean. We have not tried the breakfast, so cannot comment on that.

For the price you pay, the room was very nice. Modern amenities. Staff were friendly & courteous. Breakfast was way more than I expected. Properties were nice with an area outside in which to watch television.

Nice old place in the tradition of Rt 66. Rooms are small but nicely appointed and clean. Staff was very friendly. Only issue was the heater in the room. It was very noisy and rattled. Felt like the whole room was shaking. It did warm up the room well and we were able to turn it off for most of the night. This motel may not be the best place to stay if you need heat.

We booked this hotel based on the reviews. We did not arrive until the wee hours of the morning but had no problem checking in. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. We were impressed with the price and the friendliness of the staff. Although the breakfast was lacking everything else was impeccable. Great price and location.

This is truly a classic roadside motel that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1938. I guess Elvis even stayed at this location. It is located near downtown Springfield. We stayed in a room with a king bed. The room was quite small and the bathroom was tiny. However, everything was clean, and the decor was cute and appropriate for the theme of the property. We parked right outside the room. The location is on a busy Springfield street and there was a lot of traffic noise even though we were behind another building. It was fun to be there for one night.

Very clean, comfortable room. Rooms are very small, but if you just need a clean bed, TV & internet for a great price, this is a good deal. It is a motel, so there is some outdoor noise to deal with, but wasn't terrible unless you are very sensitive that.

My mother and I stayed here for a week while helping a relative move. I loved the classic cars and old gas pumps on display, and enjoyed seeing a picture of the room where Elvis stayed. The pool was closed for the season but the hot tub was nice. The breakfast, which is included, is great! Lots of options...you can even make your own waffle. The biscuits and gravy are dangerously delicious. We wound up needing to extend our stay, and John at the front desk took care of us and made sure we didn't have to go through the trouble of changing rooms. The grounds are very pretty and the adjoining neighborhood is good for walking.

Your craving for all things Route 66 will be immediately satisfied on arrival to this fun and classic motel. You'll be greeted by classic cars and vintage gas pumps, and will discover some of the motel's original signs dotted around as you wander the surprisingly extensive sprawl of lodging units. Along St. Louis Street, there is a string of Burma Shave advertising signs as well as an example of split rail fencing from which the motel takes its namesake. And, as excitedly advertised by the digital sign out front, Elvis Stayed Here!!!!! (Room 409, towards the south end of the property; he was playing at the Shrine Mosque venue in 1956 and apparently didn't like being downtown, so came to the Rail Haven instead). Our room had tastefully kitschy, turquoise colored retro décor while also being perfectly modern and clean. The only truly vintage thing about it was the bathroom window, which was frosted with a neato pattern that could only have happened in the 1960s or earlier. If your room is on the east side, you can gaze out at Glenstone Avenue and dream of bygone days. Glenstone today is quite ordinary and a bit dated. There are no particularly interesting restaurants or bars within walking distance of the motel. Park Central Square, the main “happening” restaurant/nightlife area, is about two miles away, though. The only possible exception nearby the motel is George's Family Restaurant, which is a couple doors down. We did not eat there, though it looks to be a decently reviewed breakfast type place. That might be an option for your consideration as we found the Rail Haven's free breakfast to be woefully overcrowded and claustrophobic. There was no seating available in the breakfast area by a long shot, but there are a couple tables outside the office door, and a really quite nice, large covered patio area alongside Glenstone Avenue and the swimming pool. It even has mounted outdoor TVs, and is next to several sycamore trees which date from the original property. People were also hanging out there in the evenings and watching the traffic go by.

You must stop and stay. Rooms were nice and what we expected. Very clean and organized. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was great and you could eat in, take to your room or eat outside. We will be back for sure.
