Very friendly staff. Hot tub was great. Had a great stay but wish we could of stayed longer.pool was warm but too windy to stay out long. Breakfast was delicious and room was very clean. We had a great time overall and we will be returning again in the near future

We had 2 adjoining rooms which the children like. They have their own room and also the safety of parents close by. Rooms are clean with comfortable (2) queen beds. All equipment is in working order. The heated outdoor pool is great, especially if it is snowing. Enjoy the hot tub and free breakfast.

This hotel is perfect in every way. The grounds are immaculate, plenty of good parking, bright and cheerful lobby with lots of seating to unwind. The entire staff is amazing! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The rooms are warm and cozy with lots of furniture, clean bathrooms, great comfortable beds and pillows. They have a gorgeous pool area, a solid gym to workout, and the breakfast is such a great ending: tons of food, lots of options, well-tended by the staff, and all in a bright cheery setting. I've been staying here for business for over 15 years... it is the best hotel in Portland. GET THE MAINE ROOM!

The pillows here are OUTSTANDING! Really comfortable beds. The Employees are top notch and work extremely hard to accommodate its guests. The staff who clean and help are so kind. All smiles and very polite. They really go to the extra mile. Highly recommend!

Pro's- The pool is awesome. The kids loved being outside in a heated pool in December. It is heated enough that you can enjoy it for a while. The staff here was excellent, very friendly and helpful. The hotel room was clean and your average size. Conveniently located right off the highway and 10 mins from shopping. Free breakfast had plenty of your normal options for hot and cold. Hot eggs (scrambled), protein (sausage both days), a side (French toast sticks one day, tater tots another) then yogurt, fruits, breads, cereal, muffins etc… Con's - The hotel bathroom needs a good scrubbing and the shower is ridiculously small. I am not a large person tall or weight and I barely fit. I could not put my hands up or outward. The shower curtain rod was hanging on by a thread into the wall, we were afraid to touch it or use it. Indoor hot tub was more crowded with elderly than a free bingo night. It was gross. Not a problem of the hotels that it was being used but just beware on a Saturday night, you will not be the only one in it. 4 star hotel for the area if the bathrooms were better but that drops it a 3 star for me. We had two rooms in our group and the only complaints were the bathrooms.

All staff friendly and helpful. Clean rooms. Huge hot tub and year-round, outdoor, heated pool are a welcome respite in the cold weather. Lovely breakfast with dairy and gluten-free options. Stay here often. Always great! See you again in May...if not before!

The CO2 detector in my room started the dreaded low battery beep when I first arrived. I told Boris at the front desk and within 5 minutes a building maintenance person had it all fixed. I would like that fast fix on things at home. Thank you for the quiet nights.

This hotel is one of our favorite places to stay. While not luxurious, it is comfortable and well-maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. My favorite thing is the heated indoor -outdoor pool. The complimentary breakfast buffet was satisfactory. Our visit happened to be on a Thursday night and the hotel was not crowded.

Such an incredible value with the friendliest staff! Breakfast was delicious and the 24 hour coffee/tea/water in the lobby was priceless...We will definitely be back. Incredible value... We were happy it was pet friendly. Was also, clean.

Hotel environment doesn't fit Best Western standard (worn out carpet, hair in bath tub, breakfast doesn't have healthy choice) comparing to other Best Western we had stayed in different cities. Room service is on demand only. Staff is not greeting customer and doesn't show happiness environment. Look very gloomy. Room is terrible small, no room to put luggage. Furniture in room is 1900 per my observation.

Stayed one night here a few weeks ago while attending an event at the Portland waterfront and enroute toward a destination further up the Maine coast. Chose this place for its reasonable rates in comparison to the waterfront (in terms of room prices, Portland is the new Boston) and the usually reliable BW brand. This seems to be an older property but it's clear the staff has gone to great lengths to keep things up to date and to provide all the comforts expected in the current day. My room was nicely furnished and exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast, served in a pleasant space, was above and beyond the usual included-with-room variety. I didn't have the opportunity to make use of the pool (hot tub included) or fitness facilities but these were nice amenities. All staff members I encountered, from check-in to exit were friendly and helpful. The hotel surroundings are your standard suburban off-the-highway style but the upside is that downtown Portland is about a five-minute drive. This is an excellent alternative to the city's hotels if you don't mind a short drive (and perhaps some exorbitant parking fees) from town.

Good hotel, room was very large and clean and in a convenient location. We would come back but it did lack some of the personal charm that we found in the smaller hotels that we stayed in. Close to Portland but would need a car. Hotel amenities were also good.

We stayed overnight as a party of 4. The hotel was busy and somehow we ended up with a free upgrade, which was fantastic. Super comfy bed and good shower. The only comment we have is the use of throw away plates, cups and plastic knives and forks! This seems to be common place in the USA so far from what we've seen

We met family at the hotel during our trip to Portland. Clean comfortable room, really good breakfast, helpful staff, lots of extras. At the hot tub, there is a lift chair so handicapped people can enjoy it to. Nice grassy area, with nearby trees, perfect for dog walking. Wish we were staying longer

I would stay here again anytime I go to Portland. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was great, with a very comfortable king size bed and an abundance of fluffy pillows. The room was nicely configured with a separate bath/vanity area. It featured a TV, refrigerator, and microwave as well as the standard desk and chair. The breakfast was on par with Marriott or Staybridge Suites. I'm only giving it 4 stars because it's not a luxury hotel but I was so happy with the room, bed, and bath.

While on a roadtrip around Labor Day, we found ourselves staying coming and going. Both visits booked last minute via the app. I'm reviewing rooms 250 and 354. The rooms are identical mirror image. Both rooms have a massage chair. 2 sinks and all the usual necessities. My 1 criticism is the same for both rooms, the AC unit is faulty. It works in both rooms. Room 250 has to be set below 68 or everything becomes damp-clammy. Room 354 sounds like a Mack truck when it kicks on. Room 354 had a water gurgle from the bathroom occasionally, woke me at 2:30am. The pool area is nice. Hot tub and kiddie pool were being used. I saw a fitness room and conference room. The breakfast was really good. Easy on/off several major roads, plenty of parking, gas station convenient. Recommend.

Great hotel for visit to Maine. Portland is close to airport and a short drive south to Ogunquit, Wells, Kennebunkport. Several beaches and many shops, restaurants, hiking trails and water sports. Also, Bar Harbor and Arcadia is a few hours north.

We are a family of four and we stayed at the Best Western Merry Manor Inn for two nights. When we first arrived, we noticed immediately this was an older property, that could probably use some refreshing. When we checked in, the check-in desk clerk told me that since I was a Platinum Member, they were going to upgrade our room for free. When we got in our room, we found we had two TVs, two refrigerators, a fireplace and a massage chair. I'm guessing the room was also bigger than the standard rooms at the hotel. We didn't end up using the additional TV or additional fridge or the fireplace but I loved that massage chair! It put me to sleep every time I sat in it. For people like me who have trouble sleeping in unfamiliar hotel rooms, this massage chair did the trick. I would immediately fall asleep in the chair and then I would slide into bed with my spouse a couple of hours later and that strategy ensured a great sleep both nights. I also liked the convenience of the Circle K next door. It was really hot when we were in Portland and the kids and I would walk over for ice cold drinks and slushies after a fun day of sightseeing. The breakfast was also top notch with lots of variety. There are also washers and dryers on site for guests to do their laundry, which was much appreciated after travelling to several Maine beaches with our children prior to arriving to Portland. There are not alot of restaurants nearby but there is a Costco about a ten minute drive away. We ended up buying wraps and salads and chicken wings from the Costco and bringing them back to the room for dinner, which let us save some money on the meal budget so we could spend those savings elsewhere. So despite the first impressions about the property looking a bit worn, we were very happy with our choice to stay here.

My son and l had a BLAST! The pool is huge and the perfect temperature. The hot tub has a kickass waterfall. Also perfect temperature and killer jets. We also loved all the great stations in the EXERCISE ROOM. We have seen many different hotel exercise rooms and this is far superior. No doubt. Now the room itself is stellar. Plenty of space. Super cosey beds and awesome pillows. The house keepers go above and beyond. No dust. All class!

Was looking for a place to stay in Portland and this hotel came up as being a lower price than any others in the area via a Google search. It was outside of the central city area, which we weren't initially happy about, but we ended up preferring South Portland to Portland. The hotel room was a bit dated, but was very clean. Staff were friendly and accommodating. My favourite part was the pool area, which has the nicest pool area that I've seen in a hotel.

Loved this hotel! I judge hotels by their carpets, rooms, pools and breakfasts and I loved all of them. Here are my thoughts of the things I had experience with. ROOM: good size, many amenities-WiFi, fridge, safe, iron and board, microwave, clean and comfortable. AC worked well. The bathroom had the sink outside allowing people to do a few things at the same time. I was able to dry our bathing suits because the closet area was by the sink with the hairdryer nearby. The only thing I wish was that the light switch was inside the toilet area so I wouldn't wake people up when I made a trip in the middle of the night. And if that was the only thing I didn't like about the room- that says a lot. BREAKFAST: I haven't been to many hotels with a breakfast as good as this one. This one might have actually been the best! There were so many hot food options and the staff really tried to keep up with refilling those items. They had a hot drink machine that dispensed lattes, coffee, hot cocoa and a few others. They had multiple juices and milk, some pastries, cereals, fruits and refrigerated items. They also had things to add to your yogurt but instead, my kids mixed it together to make like a trail mix. Breakfast was busy. It would have been nice to have an additional pancake maker. The manager( I'm guessing) was really on top of making sure things were stocked and was polite in passing. There was no waffle maker. That was the only thing missing from this. What I didn't like was that there was limited seating, but many people ate in the courtyard- luckily it was a nice morning. The other thing was that one of the pool entrances was through the breakfast area. They closed it off during breakfast hours, but people can walk through it at any other time of the day dripping all over the breakfast room. NOTE: Food was not impacted by this- just the floors and maybe tables. But otherwise the room was clean and I truly enjoyed the breakfast. POOL: Huge 5 ft. deep outdoor pool in the middle of the courtyard. The indoor pool is only a kiddie pool that's 2 feet deep. Great for the littles, but not great if you are expecting an actual indoor pool. Beautiful, large hot tub with a waterfall. We went swimming after 8:30. Towels were running low when we got there so I don't know if they ran out before the pool closed at 10. It was dark and there was only 1 light. Additional lighting would have been better. It was heated, but still a touch cool, but not bad considering it was outdoors. I don't care for outdoor pools because the weather limits things, and lots of people can see you who wouldn't normally. I did like that it was in the center of the hotel so you didn't have to go across the parking lot like some others, and no one driving by could see you. Only patrons of the hotel. COURTYARD: Lounge chairs and cushioned patio furniture under a canopy pergola. The pergola was decorated with string lights. This area was cozy and perfect for socializing or winding down with a good book while you watch your kids swim. APPEARANCE: The carpets were newer and nice looking. As I mentioned I tend to judge hotels by their rugs. They seemed fluffier- so fairly new, clean, and not dated. The lobby was large with a little convenience area and coffee. LOCATION: Quiet and safe location. Convenient. within 10 minutes or so of the ocean, and Portland. The price was reasonable considering all the amenities, safety, and location compared to other hotels offering the same things for way more money. OVERALL IMPRESSION: My complaints are extremely minor ones that do not impact the overall stay. The good by far exceeds the bad. Very convenient, safe, comfortable and cozy. It is clean, a good price, and the overall amenities, pool, and breakfast make it well worth it. This is worth the stay.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were traveling with our pet, and had an RV breakdown. They were able to accommodate us. They were sympathetic of our situation and just genuinely kind! Right down to the treats for our dog! They had a grassy area, with doggy necessities right outside our door.

Stayed here in late July with my wife and found the property adequate. Nothing glaringly good or bad, but the hotel itself is tired and badly in need of updating. There was plenty of parking when we stayed, which is rare with many hotels. We liked this, although a group of what appeared to be locals were tailgating in the parking lot for hours in the afternoon, which we found odd. Front desk staff was efficient and pleasant enough. Pool area was nice. Clean and plenty of seating available. Larger than most hotel pools. Indoor hot tub area was packed and we avoided it. The guest rooms themselves need work. We appreciated that there was a massage chair in our king room, however there were lots of poorly filled holes in the walls and evidence of prior water damage on the ceiling and walls of the room. Cracked and peeling drywall in a few spots and a crudely fashioned, and somewhat bizarre drop ceiling in the hall area were not particularly appealing. Additionally, several of the lampshades in the room were dented and shabby. We had stayed at this hotel years again and found similar conditions and it appears maintenance does just enough to keep things running, but never more than that. Everything worked fine in our room and the bed was comfortable, if not very well made. We had to tuck the fitted bottom sheet in ourselves as it was barely tucked in at our heads. The bedroom and bathroom were clean enough, just old and tired. Baseboards ill fitting and poorly attached. Internet and water pressure were both fine. AC unit cycled somewhat loudly throughout the night as older units often do, but kept the room cool. The bed was equipped with those tiny half pillows, a particular pet peeve of mine. It's nearly impossible to stay asleep when your head keeps sliding off of these ridiculous things. Then there's the included breakfast. This was probably the most disappointing aspect of our stay. Several chafers, mostly empty with an hour remaining of breakfast time. No attendant visible. Way too many guests packed into a tiny, crowded room. Overcooked, brown, frozen “omelettes” and tater tots? There were no coffee cups next to the airpots. Plenty of lids though. I waded through the crowd, then quickly retreated. Wound up getting coffee at a nearby Starbucks instead. Calling this a perk is an enormous stretch. They need a space 2 or 3 times larger to do this practically. I'm sorry to be so critical as the staff we encountered were nice, but given all of the glowing reviews here I feel compelled to be brutally honest. This property needs a radical overhaul. Finally, our stay was supposed to be a free night for completing a promo. I was issued an email with a code to use when I made the reservation, but for some reason my credit card was charged $40 after I'd checked out. The charges were itemized as $36.70 for “rm chg reg %”, and $3.30 for “room tax”. There was no mention of this charge in the promo. Perhaps it is a standard hold for incidentals and it will ultimately be removed? If I'm liable for the tax on a promo stay that's fine, but It'd be nice to know this beforehand. I emailed corporate to inquire, but have received no reply as of 3 days later. Overall, not particularly impressed. Probably wouldn't return. There are better options in the area. Apart from the pool area this place is generally pretty shabby.

We stayed here because it was affordable and seemed like a safer area than some of the other affordable hotels. We were not expecting anything fancy and the bar was very low. From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out, everything was great. Sure, it's a bit dated, but the room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was tasty, with lots of options, and the pool and hot tub were such a great amenity. My family and I had a wonderful stay and hope to be back soon.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff were friendly, breakfast was better than expected. Mentioned that we had a noisy air conditioner night one and when we returned in the evening a brand new air conditioner was installed. Pool was nice but hot tub/spa wasn't hot enough. Would stay here again.

Stayed here for one night on our way to New York. Hotel looked good from the outside. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming and even gave a welcome gift due to having status with BW. The room was very clean and spacious with comfy beds. They have an indoor/outdoor pool which we didn't use but looked very clean. Free coffee in the lobby was nice as we hit the road early for the train. Would stay here again if I'm in the area.

Overall, a great trip. Room was standard, but very clean. The pool was a really neat, indoor/outdoor setup. The free breakfast had more choices than expected. We (over) enjoyed the coffee machine in the lobby. Also like the water bottle filler.

The hotel nice. I had a nice stay but felt that the rates were way overpriced for the kind of hotel that it is. I do not think I would go back there for those kind of prices.

Friendly and helpful staff always go the extra mile. Rooms clean and in working order. Huge hot tub and year-round, heated pool are beyond compare! Gas grill, shade and heat available on the pool patio. Lovely breakfast open 7-10. Stay here often and have never had an unpleasant experience.

Amazing and welcoming. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and proper. We had adjoining rooms which made it easy to move freely and gave us more space to share! It was a wonderful experience.

Best Western at the Merry Manor is inviting. friendly, affordable, and very comfortable. The breakfast is complete and delicious. Easily accessible from both Interstate 95 and 295 in Portland, Maine!

I made this reservation because I wanted to have a hot tub during my stay. Not only was the hot tub beyond my expectations with a waterfall, the indoor/outdoor heated pool was great. I arrived in my room to find a massage chair which was a welcome surprise after a pretty strenuous previous week. The bed gave me the best night of sleep I had experienced in months and the shower had great pressure. 10 out of 10 I would recommend this place to people both traveling alone and with their families.

Exceeded my expectations by far! Customer service seems to be a thing of the past nowadays. But you guys outshined! From the check in desk, to staff in the common areas, pool, breakfast room, housekeeping, to checking out!!! Everyone was kind, friendly, helpful, & polite! I appreciate everyone I encountered!

Website does not tell you that the bar and restaurant are no longer in operation. The breakfast was very good.

My husband and I traveled from Canada to Portland for the weekend. Check in was a breeze staff were very friendly. Once we got to our room we realized how outdated it was. Between the shower the carpet and stucco on the walls it was in dire need of upgrades. The breakfast was good but if you arrive anytime after 7:10am expect nowhere to sit because it is extremely busy. They had a good selection many different options. Beds were decently comfortable. Would we stay there again? Only if we were gifted the stays again.

Enjoyed a good weekend, The Staff was friendly, had a breakfast that was much more than just a continental breakfast. A big shout-out to the maintenance man plowing the parking lot, he stopped TWICE to help me clean off the snow from that spring storm we just had. saw him helping others too!! way to go above and beyond for guests! Thank you

My kiddo had a random day off school for a teacher workday, so we decided to have a quick staycation. At the suggestion of a few folks in a local mom's group, we decided on Merry Manor Inn. The big selling point for us was the pool area, as well as the ease of access to Portland-area attractions. The pool area was great - there's a hot tub with a waterfall, a small kiddie pool, and a heated outdoor pool (with access from the indoors). Being able to swim outside at night in Maine in March was INCREDIBLE! We had so much fun. The room itself was spacious and clean. The hotel was well-staffed and everyone we interacted with was pleasant. The breakfast room was well-stocked and there was a nice variety of food. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling with kids. We'll definitely be back!

We stayed in one of specialty rooms, fire place & Jacuzzi tub it was an awesome stay. Everything was perfect five stars to the staff, so helpful and friendly, Complementary breakfast in the morning was outstanding had a great time. Definitely move back highly recommended.

I've stayed here many times. It's always been a pleasure. Not this time; Heated pool was not so heated. Told front desk and though the girl was pleasant nothing was done about the pool temperature. breakfast was mediocre, overcharged for room and the place is starting to look run down. I'm waiting for charges to be reimbursed.

This was our second time staying at the Merry Manor. We love the outdoor pool that is heated throughout the winter. We were swimming in it in the rain when it was 40 degrees out! We wish there was a way to enter the indoor hot tub from inside instead of having to walk outside to get to it. We also wish the beds were softer (they were very hard memory foam and we didn't get much sleep). Breakfast is great, with lots of options (although fewer options were provided during this trip than the first time we were there). Staff is friendly and helpful. We will be back!

Still waiting on the bank to release my money, and Stewart Bramble doesn't respond to email. I'd not stay here again. Typical lack of communication that you would expect from "Best" Western This hotel is best avoided.

Have stayed at the Merry Manor many times, never been disappointed. The staff is professional and friendly. The "large" hot tub is by far the best around. Having a heated pool - that is outside - is refreshing. Rooms are nice and beds are comfortable.

Don't pay too much attention to 3 stars. It was fairly clean and not too expensive, there's a bar/restaurant across the road that had good food but lots of locals. The staff were fantastic and professional. The 3 stars are because it's old and run down and had the smell of dampness

For the cost this hotel is great! Not the most new or updated and not within walking distance to downtown but a short 10 min drive to downtown. Close to the airport/transportation center. Plenty of parking. We traveled with 2 young kids and the room was spacious enough for the crib they provided.

Hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was hot and lots of options. The hotel needs some updates but was VERY clean. We had a special request and they accommodated. Very happy with our experience.

Hotel is easy to find. Large parking lot. Quick and easy check in and out. Front desk pleasant. Room was average size and clean although decor outdated. Breakfast average but many options. Loved the coffee machine with specialty coffees, cappuccino,hot chocolate etc readily available in lobby. Breakfast room gets very crowded but was happy to eat outside where many table and chair sets were set up close by. Safe quiet neighborhood close to shopping and restaurants. Waterfront of Portland about 15 min away as was Old Orchard beach. All season pool was warm and heated whirlpool inside was wonderful. Only issue we had was in the bathroom. Shower curtain kept moving during shower and every nite floor would get wet. Realized shower rod was on an angle so curtain would move by itself downward. No biggie but just annoying. Overall a great place to stay.

I stayed 5 nights at Best Western in Portland ME in Aug 2023. Decor was dated, but sleeping rooms were clean, and had updated bathrooms, hot buffet breakfast and lovely outdoor pool. While somewhat pricey, this hotel was nicer and had better amenities than other hotels in the area.

Large, quiet, clean room and well stocked but the common areas were smelly and dirty and no housekeeping onsite. Breakfast was fine. Complained to the front desk and they said they could not reach housekeeping and that others had complained.

Beds were very comfortable, room was clean. Having two sinks was nice. I don't know what else to say - I mean we were only there to sleep and shower so why the 200 character min? Here's a few more chars.

The room was terrible the bathroom had pubic hair in the bathtub and the wall . There was also hair on stuck on the wall opposite of the shower. The bathroom vent is falling off also the door doesn't shut . There was hair in the bed and the carpet is disgusting

The hotel was clean and welcoming. Great service at Check in. Breakfast was included and nice. The rooms were soundproof I could hear noise when I stepped into tnr hall that I could not hear inside my room.

Out of rooms still they accommodated me on a suit. It was an awesome experience. They made sure I was comfortable and also accommodated the other person that was with me. They made sure he had a room aswell

This hotel was clean, well maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful. I travel for work and most hotels are a disappointment ! Ive stayed in other brand name chains in the Portland area and left in the middle of the night due to security concerns. This hotel is the best in the area at a reasonable rate .

The property was convenient to downtown Portland and other areas we wanted to visit. It was clean, and the staff was very helpful with suggestions of local restaurants and area attractions. It was family friendly, the pool was wonderful, and the breakfast was great too.

Motor coach group stayed there one night June 18. Rooms were good. One of the better breakfasts on our Nova scotia trip with lots of choices. Location was good. Rooms we were in were quite a distance from the lobby.

I guess the hotel was okay but I just thought it was meh. I did not understand the way they handled breakfast. Had to use your keycard to get into the room and not a minute before 7AM. IT was not a big room for such a lafge hotel but it was HOT in the room. And they had one small room ac and for some reason another ac??? blowing hot air and again it was hot in there. However, the breakfast was good lots of variety and choices so breakfast was good I just did not understand why the closed off hot room. Rooms were okay but the hotel seemed a little run down in my opinion. But service and employees were nice. Oh I guess I should explain my title. Plenty of occupants, first night a large biker club having a cook out and party in the back parking lot, second night a youth baseball team singing take me out to the ball game, and on the second and third night a traveling older Christian tour group. So lots of customers and a variety of personality who enjoyed the hotel

Pros: Close to area attractions without being too close, clean and comfortable guest rooms, good free breakfast. Cons: Front desk staff efficient but not very friendly, rooms somewhat cramped and needing some freshening. In the area for one night, the Best Western Merry Manor Inn checked all the required boxes. My room was comfortable and clean with a great king-sized bed, separate seating area, and plenty of storage and lightning. The free breakfast hit the spot. And while I didn't have time to check out the pool area, unlike most Best Western properties I've visited lately, it was open and not closed for some kind of maintenance issue. The property's location is a good one- on Route 1, but not a very congested area. It's a few minutes from shopping and restaurants and no more than 15 minutes from amusement parks and beaches. I appreciated it being close, but not too close. The front desk staff got things done very quickly, albeit without much personality or a smile. And while nothing needed immediate care, I noticed some things like paint and ceiling tiles inside my room needing attention. It's likely the rooms are due for an overhaul, and can't help but think the property would be a little nicer after a comprehensive renovation. Still, it satisfied all my basic needs, and I won't hesitate to return.

The hotel was very nice and clean. The pet fee wasn't absolutely ridiculous like most places. And has a nice woodsy spot for pets to do their business. The breakfast room was a little crowded but had a good selection

This hotel has been around a very long time. I will admit I was skeptical of what condition it would be. I was very pleasantly surprised! Let me start with check in, excellent customer service! I believe his name was Quinn. He called me by name, made small talk and was so pleasant. As was the young lady with him to other customers. The room was SPOTLESS- and I am a neat freak who is very difficult to please. I had no worries going barefoot in the room! Here is the icing on this cake…… we had a snow storm 6+ inches of snow and a lovely young lady cleaned my car off for me!!! I enthusiastically recommended this place, and I know I will be there again.

The hotel staff were accommodating and very friendly. The staff went out of their way to make our stay great (for example delivering hot coco to my kids while they were at the pool!). The rooms were clean. The pool and hot tub were clean. The breakfast was great. We will definitely be back.

Our family always enjoys staying at Best Western Merry Manor Inn. The common areas and guest rooms alike are always very clean, the staff are always welcoming, friendly, and helpful, we especially appreciate the great on-site breakfast service, and of course, the pool and hot tub facilities are a hit!

Hotel is clean, all staff is very friendly, and it's close to all things Portland. Their breakfast is a typical hotel breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage links, and plenty of sides to go with it. Internet was fast with no kinks, and the noise level was super quiet.

We always enjoy our stay at the Merry Manor Inn. The rooms are comfortable, the staff is warm and helpful, and the price is a great value. Portland has so much to offer to visitors, and a stay here completes your adventure.

Great place to stay! Clean and friendly staff! The pool and hot tub are a treat as you can use them in the winter. :) We have swam in the heated pool when it was snowing which is a really neat experience!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and all towels, and bedding were provided. We had a dog travelling with us and she was welcomed and we appreciated a ground floor room. No excess noise, easy place to stay in at the end of a long trip.

The rooms were clean and the staff was the best. They smiled all the time & greeted people in the hallways. They worked well together & have been employed there for a long time. Our conference became larger than expected & the staff was quick to offer suggestions & better accommodations.

We spent three nights at the hotel at a conference. The accommodations were excellent. The staff, from the front desk to the people who maintained the rooms to the staff who helped set up and maintain the meeting rooms were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. MOre than 125 people from 27 states attended the conference and virtually everyone praised the facility and staff.

My husband and I only spent 1 night here on our way to Bar Harbor. It was perfect for our needs. Cheaper than the motels near the water and still only a 10 minute drive to the tourist areas. I am writing because thanks to their housekeeping staff, I was able to get back an item I had left behind. It was my dental night guard which I wasn't aware I had left in the bathroom until I arrived in Bar Harbor. I called the motel a day later and asked housekeeping to look for it. A week went by and than another and I didn't hear anything. I assumed it was lost forever - probably thrown out by the staff. I thought there goes $500 custom dental device that I will have to pay to replace. Well this week - the head housekeeper Isabel called me and said they had found it and would ship it back to me. It arrived yesterday - I am so gratefully. I don't need a fancy hotel - just accomodations with good service. Got that in spades here in the Portland BW.

About 10 mins from the Portland seafront and well worth the short Uber drive. The staff were incredibly friendly. The room was really clean and a good size with two of the most comfortable queen beds! I highly recommend!

Stayed at hotel for one night whilst on a driving holiday. Staff very friendly and efficient. Good location near to Portland and mall where we had an excellent meal at Longhorns. Rooms are a little dated but spacious and clean. Complimentary breakfast was good with usual cereals, pancakes, eggs, bagels etc.

Stayed 2 nights while on driving trip. This Best Western is well positioned when arriving from Boston and within easy driving distance of Portland Harbour. The hotel is very dated, badly in need of a revamp and our room had peeling wall paper, which was all off putting. However, Nathan on reception was very helpful, the room was big and comfortable enough and well equipped. The breakfast was better than expected and replenished regularly. There is a bar/restaurant within walking distance.

Dated hotel in a convenient location. Rooms are a bit small. Parking was easy. Privacy sign we placed on the door while we were out was ignored. Housekeeping came in anyway. They swapped out all of the pillowcases, including a pillow we brought from home, so we lost that pillowcase. Overpriced for what you get. Will look elsewhere next time I'm in the area.

Rarely would I bother to take the time to write a negative review, but this stay was really bad. We stayed one night on our way through from Rockland to Ma. If we had a choice I would have left after 20 minutes. First off, I was less than happy paying $315 for one night. Although the check-in staff was helpful enough she did not give us much info on where things were in the hotel and send us to the wrong place to use the bathroom. When I walked in the room I made sure not to take my shoes off as it was clear that the carpet had not been cleaned for a very long time, nor had the upholstery on the (one) chair in the room. Went to get a glass of water. $300 a night for plastic cups? Noticed that the drain in the sink did not work so we had to prop it open with a knife. Went to use the bathroom - door did not close properly and had dirty handprints on both sides of the door. One good thing was the bathroom was otherwise clean and the water pressure was good and the water hot in the shower. The bed was not too bad but came with lumpy pillows. Woke up in the morning to the smell of someone smoking outside the door, which also did not fully close. In short, this "inn" needs a good cleaning and some updating. Won't be staying here again despite the fact the we often pass through Portland.

It's 20 minutes from Old Orchard Beach and Portland! Spent morning and early afternoon at beach then came back and used the pool and jacuzzi! Location is great! Rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful!

We've stayed at this hotel a few times already. The location is great, the prices are very fair, rooms are quiet, very clean, beds and bedding is quite comfy. Always appreciate the included breakfast. There is a beautiful pool and outdoor lounging area that we haven't used but always see lots of guests enjoying.

My husand and I were greeted and checked in last Tuesday by Nathan. He was knowledgeable, kind, enthusiastic and helpful. Christina was also friendly and helpful throughout our visit. We appreciate their outstanding customer service and they left us with such a nice first impression of the hotel. We stayed in a memorable themed suite and highly recommend the Merry Manor for a good night's rest - the amenities were plentiful and we appreciate everything that was done to make our hotel stay in Portland so much fun! A/C broken and noisy. Dehumidifier added and noise volume was bad. Water pressure was limp. Electric outlets didn't work. Fridge was tepid. Too much perfumey air freshener (nauseating). Half-used toiletries. Employee living!!! in a guest room thought she owned the place.

The heated pool and grounds are wonderful, however breakfast area was not clean, beds very saggy, many replastered walls and the beds are not on solid bases. Low ceilings and narrow tub area. Needs updating. Fan in bathroom didn't work. Room was pretty clean, except curtains and sheets around bed bases. Very friendly staff and a great selection of gift books.

Nice location, within 15-20 minutes of downtown Portland. One of the least expensive motels in the area, but still way overpriced. Older facility, but clean and somewhat kept up. The breakfast was standard fare. The pancakes had been sitting for some time, and thus were dry and stale. This would not be my choice to stay except that it was one of the cheaper places even at inflated prices. The AC was lacking in performance, which is always a downer.

What a great hotel! The outdoor pool was great for my daughter. The water was a perfect temp and I swam in it a while too. They offered corn hole and an array of patio furniture. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

This property is older so it's a bit tired, but overall pleasant. Our room was clean and comfortable and the pool area was quite nice. The location is near a number of dining options. Front desk was a bit overwhelmed at check in time, causing a bit of a wait. Breakfast was pretty good, although they could have done a better job keeping it replenished.

Stayed here this week and I have to say despite the good service when we checked in, I was a little disappointed about the breakfast. Went just after 7 am, food was out, eggs waffles and chicken nuggets, were served but there were no serving utensils, breakfast room was full and despite asking three times, guests started using their hands and small spoons to serve themselves. Finally after half our we just left.

This is one of the best Best Westerns I have stayed at. The staff is very friendly and helpful. For example, when we checked in the front desk person alerted us to a discount we were eligible for but had not taken. That was a nice surprise. The outdoor pool is heated, clean and large. The rooms are clean and modern. The TV is huge, like 50" or so. And the location, just 15 minutes from downtown Portland is great.

I booked a king room for a business trip. When I arrived the staff was pleasant and helpful, the room was clean and the temperature perfect. The bed was comfortable. But the cherry on the sundae was the surprise of a massage chair in my room. I had had a very long week and it was a very welcome, very needed surprise.

My husband and I stayed with our children on a mini vacation. The beds were very comfortable. The staff was excellent. Breakfast was great and so easy when traveling with children. The pool and hot tub were so nice after being out all day.

Was a decent hotel for the money. The breakfast options were great. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The breakfast area does get busy and its hard to find seating so get there early. The pool was heated so it was not cold.

I definitely recommend this hotel! The rooms were very clean, the staff was quite helpful, and the beds were quite comfortable! Upon my return home, I realized I had left my book at the hotel, and the manager was kind enough to mail it to me. That's great service! Check-in was easy, and Isabella at the front desk, was pleasant and accommodating!

Opportunities for swimming were good in their large outdoor pool. Breakfast buffet options were good. Room was clean. But, there was a tub with a shower in it and neither a good non-slip surface in the bottom of the tub, not any emergency grab bar for security when taking a shower. I am 81 years old, but reasonably fit, and I would have wanted that extra security. I bet that any older management, especially if they were overweight, would be unwilling to use that shower for personal care. My reservation did not request an "accessible" room.

We stayed the night we flew in and a week later stayed again the night before we flew out (traveled up the coast in between). The desk staff was helpful and efficient. The rooms were clean and nice, and the breakfast area was inviting. On our second visit we got a room looking out onto the pool where a teenage baseball team was loud until the pool closing time of 10pm was enforced. Other than that, the hotel was quiet. The hotel has its own parking lot and they give you a parking pass to display on your dashboard (no extra charge). It is only 10 minutes from the Portland airport and 20 minutes from the Portland Head Lighthouse.

We had our Navy Reunion at this hotel and it was one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in. They accommodated over one hundred and fifty of us and we could not ask for any better service including the conference room and breakfast bar. The food and staff were amazing. My room was very clean and spacious.

I was very disappointed by the price gouging happening. This motel was fine but no one should ever have to spend 300 a night for a room here. I would have stayed somewhere else for that price if I had booked earlier. Staff was nice, rooms were as expected for this chain, but definitely not worth what they charged.

The Best Western Merry Manor Inn is an absolute great hotel that's located in South Portland, Maine. In May of 2022, I brought and treated my wife and myself for a week stay at the Best Western Merry Manor Inn, and we very much enjoyed every moment of our time at the hotel. We were both graciously welcomed by the staff when entering the hotel and the check in process for was fairly quick and smooth. Both my wife and I loved that our room was quite spacious and clean and that our beds were very comfortable. What we also loved about the Best Western Merry Manor Inn were the great amenities; such as 24 hour fitness center, indoor spa and outdoor pool. Each morning we were blessed with highly delicious complimentary breakfast; which included well cooked scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage and a whole host of other items. The Best Western Manor Inn is also perfectly located near many of Maine's popular destinations, such as the Victoria Mansion, the Maine Duck Tours, the Eastern Promenade, and many other well know sites!!! Both my wife and I would love to give a huge two thumbs to the Best Western Merry Manor Inn for providing us with a great hotel experience and for playing a huge role towards our enjoyment and fun in Portland. Maine!!!

Between the light show I'm the salt water outdoor pool at night, and the waterfall large hot tub inside, the most comfortable bed quiet and kind atmosphere, this is truly our treat ourselves place to stay! Be it my partner and I put the whole family! Hands down best motel in Maine.

Every hot item on the breakfast was cold. Pancakes taken directly from the refrigerator and put in serving dish. No hot water for oatmeal. No whole milk, only low fat. Enjoyed the massage chair in the room. Room was clean. Front desk exceptionally friendly.

This is one of the best hotels we have stayed at. Amazing breakfast, friendly welcoming staff, fun pool, and a huge outside area around the hotel to stretch your legs or play games. Lots of parking. The hotel is like a labyrinth that the kids will enjoy exploring. The rooms are a bit small and outdated but all the other qualities make the rooms dust in the wind. Oh and they just put in all new matresses while we were there.

The staff is amazing and welcoming, the rooms are well appointed and very, very clean. The facilities are delightful for a family and the breakfast is excellent with good coffee. The rooms are so comfortable, love the couch or chair rather than having to always sit on the bed. Those pillows are amazing - best I've slept at a hotel. Very quiet.

indoor/outdoor heated pool allowed the kids to swim outside while the weather was cold and wet. The kids felt like they were on a real vacation. And for the price it was great. Breakfast was not the best. But there is a breakfast. Hot tub was a plus for the adults, and it is very large so a whole group can fit comfortably

This hotel was close to everywhere we wanted to be. Staff is lovely and very accommodating, rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is included, so we could just grab something and go! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in a centrally located part of the coast.

This was a last minute weekend getaway. The front desk was so polite and helpful. Check in was very efficiant. The rooms were large and very clean. The beds were so incredibly comfortable. I slept so well. The morning breakfast had a wonderful selection for hot and cold items. Would defintaly stay here again.

This hotel is located in a great area with literally tons of things to do just minutes away. The indoor/outdoor pool is a huge hit with the kids, the hot tub was bigger than most and the smaller pool for the younger kids was great.

If you like Chinese food order from Evergreen very good and reasonably priced. Overall this whole stay was good. We did laundry onsight and the price was comparable and dryer got nicely hot. The hot tub was amazing.

Normally I have a good stay here. This past time wasn't what I needed. So many kids running all over the place and they had taken over the pool and hot tub. Headboard was splattered with something. Poor design of tub/shower.

We stayed here for kids get away over February vacation. Rooms were clean, beds and pillows were very comfortable. Great hot breakfast selection and pool amenities were amazing. The outdoor heated pool was a hit for the kids. All staff was super helpful and very friendly. The rooms were very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!

I've been staying here over a decade and never, not even once, have I had a bad experience. The staff is always polite, happy, and helpful. Great lobby space to relax, along with another quiet area near the indoor pool. The rooms are large, well-furnished, clean, and comfortable. The bathrooms are immaculate and bright. The pools and hot tub are clean and warm. I stay here as a traveling salesman since it is perfectly located, and have vrought my wife and kids here a bunch of times for getaways! Seriously can't recommend this place more!

I was never told the kids pool was down or the Jacuzzi and still had to pay the price also midway through breakfast they stopped restocking my children were upset and I felt I wasted money and a birthday for my son who was sad and upset

Was surprised that there was No Grab Bars in the shower. That is a safety for us .The mattress needs to be replaced. The staff were very nice. The breakfast was good but a lack of variety which more of an issue due to the times we are living in, their maiin restaurant closed because of the pandemic so breakfast (Self Serve) was in a limited space.

No place is perfect, however this place is like an extension of my home or my home away from home. I have not had the privilege of staying any of the other Best Western Hotels, but here you get great service from friendly people. They recognize you and chat like you're old friends. The price for this place varies depending on when and for how long you're staying. With that price comes fresh real food breakfast, an out door heated pool all year and a large hot tube with a waterfall. Anytime I'm in the area this is where I stay.

We had a wonderful room with a massage chair that I fully enjoyed! I love that the room had a separate outside sink which is so helpful to not be in each other's way when getting ready for the day! The breakfast was awesome and we had turkey breakfast sandwiches on Thanksgiving morning which were so delicious! Glen made breakfast a wonderful experience by going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! Overall I would recommend this hotel as the room was comfortable and quiet and perfect for a long weekend stay!

Everything was great, completely amazed how friendly the staff was and how clean this place was kept. Used pool and hot tub daily. Staff working daily to assure everything was tidy. Well done! Convenient access to I295 to travel into Portland. Continuous improvement at this hotel was quite evident.

This hotel is not fancy, but what it lacks in glitz is made up by its cleanliness and amazing staff, friendly, go out of their way to be helpful, always smiling. A really cool heated pool that we regret not using, with an indoor entrance then swim out to the outdoor portion. (Next time I'll bring a bathing suit!). We had an initial problem with a leaking toilet but they switched our room no problem. Great night's sleep on the comfy mattress and fluffy bedspread. Nice freshly made hot breakfast - scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and sausage cheese and egg sandwiches. The attached restaurant was closed (due to Covid?) but the staff referred us to the Coppersmith Tavern across the street. While it is a pub, the food was amazing and inexpensive! On a nice day I would seriously consider making the almost 2 hour drive to eat there again. The mussels, crab cakes, and fried brussels sprouts and sauces they used were yummy!

Check in was fine. Dryers did not dry sufficiently and very lovely staff member took our items to their dryers to complete. Breakfast was pathetic. I don't eat pork and the only warm item was premade breakfast sandwiches with pork on them. Front desk person suggested I just remove it from the croissant (no thank you). Needless to say, McD was a big improvement. Otherwise, it was fine.

Our group spent four days at the Best Western Merry Manor Inn for a ship's reunion, and all our participants were very impressed with the service and assistance that we received during our stay. All of the things that we desired for our events (equipment, food, etc.) were available, and the food at our banquet was very good!

We stayed two nights in mid-October. The property is large, and of reasonable appearance. The main issues were: subpar breakfast, a broken toilet (partly fixed, leaving a second problem which we fixed ourselves), a used dental pick in the tub, making us wonder about the cleanliness of the place in general, or at least the housekeepers attentiveness to cleaning details. It can also be a long walk from the elevator to many rooms.

We were SO impressed by this place. When we arrived, the front desk was so kind and accommodating, and even gave us an upgrade because I accidentally booked a double queen instead of a single room. My husband is a clean freak in part because he works in health care, so he brought sanitizing wipes with us everywhere. When we got into the room he went to work wiping down surfaces including above the bathroom mirror and the separating wall, while I untucked the bed to check the sheets. He hollered at me "WTF?!!!" because I kid you not, there was no dust or dirt on the top of the vanity or separating wall. It was sooo clean. Even around the toilet. Linens were also pristine. We were so shocked at the level of cleanliness. And you can tell they gsd because every morning we saw the staff running around hard at work. Breakfast was put out early and I was impressed to find that they even provided the dairy free yogurt. Like, I'll eat everything and anything regardless, but dairy doesn't agree with me and though i would've eaten the regular yogurt, I was happy to have that option. In the evening it was nice to chill and enjoy the in room massage chair and then go swim in the pool while my husband relaxed in the hot tub. The pool had a cool indoor lighted entrance which I guess isn't anything super fancy but gave the pool a unique and almost luxurious vibe. The hot tub had a nice waterfall which despite being lopsided (the mechanism and stream generator is a bit wonky and worn) felt nice to sit under. In the evening I wanted to get a late night snack and the front desk person was very kind and nice to chat with given the hour. Honestly wish we had more time in Portland just so we had more time here. It's close to lots of good food, sights and just all in all a great experience. My husband and I have traveled and stayed at super bougie places where the hospitality and cleanliness couldn't hold a candle to this place. 10/10 would stay here again!

Stayed here with a tour group. Comfortable bed, massage chair, two sinks (!), & nice exercise facility. Front desk took care of kids running in the hall. Part of our stay included breakfast. Plenty of food, limited variety. The reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was that there was some deferred maintenance as well as the room had an unpleasant odor when we first arrived. There was, also, something spilled in the hallway on the tiled part of the floor the night we arrived & it was still there in the morning.

The Merry Manor made our ship's reunion one of the best we've had. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The hospitality room was perfect and serving us breakfast there in the mornings was awesome. The location made everything accessible with out being congested.

Nice and well-equipped hotel. Our room was on the third floor (with elevator) in the back, with windows looking out over a small parking lot towards a woodsy area. Room was pretty good sized with a microwave and fridge. Also laundry facilities that we did not use. Breakfast had scrambled eggs and bacon, but pretty marginal quality. No toast, but cereals, yogurts, and some breakfast bars with a good selection. Best thing about this Hotel is that that they must have soft water. Used a tiny bit of shampoo and tons of lather! Also, the location was right off one of the main roads to get around the area easily.

Our reunion group stayed at the Merry Manor. It was a pleasant surprise to see "Welcome USS Worden: and a picture of our ship on the marquee as I drove up. In my opinion, the service given to our group was outstanding. I've already recommended the Merry Manor to another reunion group.

This hotel was unbelievable in its cleanliness and service. Every sinigle staff member was so very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good with several different choices. Would stay here anytime in the area!

I've been a traveling salesman for 13 years, and only stay at hotels that are great, and this place checks off every box. Immaculate well groomed grounds, big bright lobby, friendly helpful staff, excellent rooms, comfortable beds, and clean bathrooms is what they deliver every single stay. Amazing pool and hot tub and plenty of parking just makes it better.

1. Check-in took 30 minutes in person, even though we pre-checked in online via the email we received from Best Western. 2. The power outlet next to my bed didn't work, and I discovered a dead phone that had been plugged in all night. 3. We received a knock on the door from housekeeping at 8:15 a.m., even though we'd hung the privacy tag on our door. Check-out wasn't until 11 a.m. The staff woke us up and we didn't get a proper night's sleep.

A slight bit outside of Portland and not much around (gas station next door). But price was significantly better than in Portland and by default much quieter at night. We slept without interruption both nights which is much appreciated. The property itself is a bit worn. My bathroom light bulb was exposed and exhaust fan very loud. Hallways could use new carpet and few ceiling tiles coming loose. But it is clean and met my wife's standards not always easy to do. Staff were all friendly and, lol, the TV was giant. I'd stay again without hesitation.

Toilet did not flush and was told it will take hours to fix - no offer to decrease cost of room for inconvenience. Car alarm in parking lot went off from 10pm til 2 pm straight - again no offer to compensate for miserable night of no sleep. Not sure how it took 4 hours to find owner when you collect everyone's license plate # upon arrival. Battery in safe dead so unable to use. Breakfast lacking compared to usual spread. Generally a nice place to stay close to Portland but this trip was awful. Sad that management not willing to give a discount or something to show their acknowledgment of all these issues.

Even though there were some limitations due to the covid 19 pandemic, the hotel managed to offer a decent breakfast including microwave omelets, hot and cold cereals, fruit, danish, muffins, yogurt and for anyone who wanted a hot breakfast there were scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage. There was no daily housekeeping in order to keep it covid safe by limiting contact with the housekeeping staff, but we could get clean towels, linens, toiletries, etc. from the front desk or we could stop by the housekeeping carts that were in the hall to get additional supplies as needed. They supplied plastic bags to put the trash and used towels etc. in and we set them outside the door to be picked up by housekeeping. It all worked quite well. Our room was spotlessly clean and the front desk staff were patient and helpful. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

We recently stayed at the Best Western Merry Manor for two days and although there were some good things about the hotel - convenient location, comfortable beds and chair, helpful custodial staff; there were other things that made me wonder how this hotel gets such a high rating. First we were assigned a pet friendly room although we weren't traveling with a pet (we sometimes do travel with our dog, but not this time). The room had a peculiar odor to it which I would describe as chemical to clean the carpet and pet urine. The smell is why I asked the front desk if we were in a pet friendly room. They acknowledged we were and when I mentioned the smell, they seemed indifferent to it. I didn't ask for a room change due to having to pack up everything for one night so we used our room deodorizer to tolerate it. The front desk staff was not helpful and when asked if they had quarters for the washer/dryer available in the hotel, I was told they had run out and I should check with the gas station next door. I did that and was able to receive $2 worth, however the machines cost $2.50 and the dryer did not dry our clothes so late evening, we needed to find a laundromat so that I could dry our clothes. I would suggest to have quarters available for your customers, a change machine or take the machines out if they are an inconvenience. The ceiling in our room seemed to have black stains on it; it was a popcorn type ceiling so it was little black specks. This made me wonder even more about the cleanliness of the room. Breakfast was okay and did include eggs/bacon, fruit, yogurt, cereal, milk and rolls. I did appreciate that they had coffee available at the lobby. I started to use the internet, however, Norton stopped me stating it wasn't safe. Overall, not a great experience but I have had really good stays at other Best Westerns. I got what I paid for and regret not spending just a bit more for possibly a better stay. I am not someone that usually brings up concerns on Trip advisor as you can see by my other reviews and yes, the staff were made aware of the concerns I had. Caring staff can really help even a mediocre situation and again, the only staff that seemed to care were the custodial staff; very helpful. Maybe a different room would have improved my rating.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way back from Acadia and were pleasantly surprised by this very clean, reasonably priced, conveniently situated hotel. Rooms are sizable and our bed was very comfortable. Downtown Portland was an easy 10 minute drive away and the hotel was a perfect base for our daily jaunts into the city. It's a great option if you don't need a lot of amenities, don't mind a little driving, and don't want to pay the extortionate prices of Old Port hotels.

Every year we plan a beach trip…post Covid- hotels were expensive, limited and has a minimum stay…I had stayed at Merry Manor Inn before and loved it!! My guests never had- they were so pleased by the amenities, cleanliness and proximity to the beach and shopping can Syd's!

We chose this location as it was only about 10 minutes from Portland and it was a good deal. The hotel was clean and the staff was nice. They have a very nice pool that we used as we were in Maine during a heat wave.

I try to always stay at a Best Western. I've never had a bad experience. The employees are very polite and helpful and answered all questions. The rooms and bathrooms are always clean. The Best Western in South Portland, Maine has a saltwater pool, which I love.

Room was clean, Beds very comfortable and sheets very soft. Coffee maker Keurig, makes individual cups had my brand of Coffee. SO AWESOME. Hot tub broke after first night. I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED, and thought. THATS IT NO MORE SOAKING my achy breaky BOD. BUT FIXED BY NEXT DAY, and they had to order a part. SO WOW. And a very NICE YOUNG MAN CALLED NIXON on the staff, was a huge help and very sweet to this senior, me. Pool, kiddie pool very nice. PET FRIENDLY. Staff professional and pleasant. Cleaning staff was there a lot, and if you needed ANYTHING just had to ask. No one HANGING around property, that didn't belong there. No noisy, out of control, or unusual events or situations while there. Felt very safe EVERYTHING WORKED. Towels and amenities in room stocked, able to rest and relax when in room. HAD A GREAT TIME IN MAINE first time visiting, this is close to all the attractions and the mall is literally only a few minutes away. Would STAY HERE AGAIN FOR SURE. Was supposed to stay at Howard Johnson's practically next door. But reviews were bad consistently and we changed to this location last minute. SO GLAD WE DID. Cause HJ, from what I could see. NOPE. Restaurant/Tavern on property was good.

This stay is a great value. Best hotel stay throughout our week long road trip. Really cute pool area for lounging too. Brought our dog and there was some space to walk him along the back of the hotel. I don't think the hotel's restaurant is open right now but they had a nice breakfast selection.

We checked in late, at midnight. The clerk at the front desk was very nice, and got us checked in quickly. The room was as expected, two queen beds. We went to the lobby for the breakfast, and found that it consisted of a continental breakfast, not the breakfast buffet that we have had in the past here. There wasn't much of a choice of items. My wife doesn't like the sausage croissants, but that was the only one they had. So she had cold cereal with milk. The restaurant on site was closed, so we couldn't even go there. Housekeeping doesn't clean the room or take out the trash while there's a guest staying in the room. We had to call the front desk to get clean towels. There's a coffee maker in the room, but after the first day, we had no pods. Unfortunately it poured for two days, and there's nothing to do here.

We had the cabin themed room and it was decorated very cute. The massage chair was a nice surprise after a long day of driving but something kept kicking on right outside our window and it wad so loud

Very nice pool area. Coffee was surprisingly good.. The pool I must get back to though. I adore how it starts inside then you walk through or swim through this little area in the water and you're outside, in the outdoor swimming area. I love how warm they keep the mini pool room. Will definitely be going back with my daughter.

We needed a place to stay for one night on our way to Acadia. This place was fine for one night. The hotel room was good and clean. The bathroom seems newer. However, the rest of the place smells like 20 year old cigarette smoke. So if you care about staying in a modern, updated place, don't stay here. If you just want a clean room to stay this is perfect. They also had a decent pool that my son loved. The breakfast is grab and go but it's free! It's about a 10-15 min drive to popular restaurants and 15 min drive to the Portland head lighthouse. This place worked for us.

When my husband and I arrived in Portland our Airbnb was a bust (and they were not helpful in resolution). So we left that place and found this Best Western to stay at instead. It was an awesome location, the pool was excellent, the breakfast (though a grab n go) was very good. They had hard boiled eggs, kind bars, cereal, coffee and tea etc. For us that worked very well. The room was very comfortable and clean and was parking plentiful. There is a gas station right in the parking lot which worked well for returning the rental car and the airport is 10 minutes away. We found the hotel to be quiet and I like that there is a separate small kids area of the pool. The hot tub was not working, which was a bummer, but there were so many COVID rescrictions for it anyway so that was fine. It was 95 degrees while we were in Portland. The hotel was located about 7 minutes from downtown Portland and we never had issues with parking. I would definetly stay there again. Downside is they are still not cleaning the rooms during your stay, which may just be an industry thing right now or lack of staff. That wasn't a huge deal to us though.

This place will not give you clean linens or towels etc unless you ask 24 hrs in advance additionally I was woken up in the middle of sleep by a smoke alarm going through hallways and elevators because the weed set it off, if kids are here really, do you want them here. They won't clean a room unless you insist (covid afraid). I am in a room that will not be cleaned until at least tomorrow and supposedly I signed something. I asked them to show the room clean agreement, they couldn't reproduce it, but I was told to throw it garbage and linens in the hallway. Not acceptable health wise or any other way. If you want sleep don't go here. no drs on call no airport transport no picnic areas except for those that smoke week or cigs. After the marijuana smoke alarm I never ventured. If you like to sit on concrete planters for a cig then yes otherwise no. Out door furniture what you have is daylight only, no lights on it at night.

On our way to Southwest Harbor and needed a Portland night. Though outside of downtown it was more reasonable than that location but was a short commute for restaurants and shops. Lived up to other excellent reviews.

We would of given this 5 stars but... it was a full hotel that night and there were a ton of teens there and staff did soo many walk throughs and we had top floor there's only two suites there should of been very quite but the stairwell door kept slamming loudly with the walk throughs and I really wish that didn't happen we got woke up a few times but the hot tub was the biggest in hotel and it was such a beautiful room relaxing tub bathroom was amazingly done it was 401 captains suite definitely worth the price would totally go once a month at least just make sure you ask ahead of time if the fireplace is working it wasn't that night and we really were bummed out about it but most staff were great and room was nice have Todd make your reservation for you he is the best there been there forever and is really kind and friendly knows everything about the hotel so definitely ask for Todd if there's anything you need done for your stay

My daughter and I had a wonderful time in the splendid heated pool and hot tub. It was great and warm whether at 8 am or at 8pm. We felt safe and secure and did not even mind needing to make reservations for the pool. No frills place, but with everything you need to have a successful and fun time!

Always my #1 choice when staying in the Portland area. Stayed many times over the years when working. Now retired, still return to this location. Extremely convenient location heading north or south!!

The room was dated and somewhat dirty. I cleaned the filter in the heater when I got there and there were remnants on the floor. I imagine it's hard finding help these days so I've come to expect the issue everywhere that we go. The pool made up for everything!

I took a weekend for myself at the Best Western Merry Manor Inn and came away rejuvenated! I am a self-employed mother with a daughter who has special needs. Due to everything going on I was burnt out and in need of time just for me. This fit the bill perfectly! They put a lot of thought into safety in regards to COVID. I was able to use the pool and the hot tub, by signing up for my time slot. The room was pristine clean, without any toxic chemical smells. Every person I interacted with was up beat, polite and helpful. I'm already booking my next 'me' vacation there in a couple of months.

The best part was the outdoor heated salt water pool. I've swam in it before but it's always great. There was a jacuzzi in my room but the second time I tried to full it up the water wouldnt get hot. I wad upset about that.

This is the place to stay in the Portland South Portland area. They always provide great rooms, and service in a good area. They are doing a great job with Covid 19 precautions, better than some hotels.

We enjoyed our stay this past weekend. The heated pool was amazing, grab and go breakfast was generous and staff were very pleasant. Unfortunately, the hot tub was out of service during our scheduled swim, though there was a staff member diligently working on repair. Location was perfect. Over all 10/10.

We have stayed at this property several times and had family and guests stay here as well. Most recently, my family and I were staying at this hotel as our house was preparing to be sold As always, the rooms were clean and very affordable. Hotel rooms in the Portland area can be ungodly expensive. So it is nice to have an affordable option. The pack and go breakfast had a great many of choices. They have a lovely outdoor heated pool that we enjoyed. The staff was excellent. They were very helpful and accommodating. Despite the COVID signage, I witnessed several people enter the building with out masks and the staff quickly approached them and offered them masks. While we were there at the we witnessed a guest verbally assault another goup of guests. These guests were enjoying takeout food in the pool area, all the while being responsible and socially distancing. Yet while unmasked she took it upon herself to approach them to confront them about nor wearing masks while they ate. She was completely in the wrong. These people wore masks before and after eating and at no time were near anyone outside of their immediate group. I feel sorry for this woman. I can't going through life that angry.I hate the terminology, but it seems that she was just another "Karen", or is it Erin? I don't know wither way I feel sorry for her. As a business traveler I have spent more than 3,000 nights in hotels. Is this hotel the Ritz Carlton? No it is not, but it doesn't pretend to be. Its just a clean, welcoming, no frills hotel with a good location, a terrific staff, and strong management. We will certainly stay there again when we return to the area.

The pool and hot tub were great! My kids loved it there. Staff was helpful and very friendly. Decor is outdated, but rooms are very clean. For the price, this is now in our regular rotation for quick getaways...especially in the winter!

Other guests extremely loud. Rooms not updated. Ants in bathroom (had to spray). If it was not close to parents (and one in hospital) I would not have selected. Selected due to close proximity. Disappointed as I grew up in this area and always thought they were better than this.

Came into town on business and stayed at my favorite place. I love the pool and spa and with less travelers, I can enjoy with plenty of social spacing. They made it easy to make a reservation for the pool to ensure it was not too crowded. I felt completely safe and was happy to see all staffers well masked and happy. I saw them using electrostatic foggers in public spaces and the additional air purifiers I saw; made me feel confident the staff here truly cares about their guests. Above all that, I love chatting with all the staff here I feel like they are family. I look forward to my next stay! Thank you!

On 2/9 I checked into the Merry Manor Inn for some fun outdoor pool time with my girls. I experienced two separate incidences of employees not following covid protocol. Upon alerting the front desk I was notified that it was the general manager who was in violation on both occasions and was told that there was nothing they could do. When I spoke to the manager he defended not following protocol, became angry and aggressive, yelled and repeatedly violated my personal space. The following is my specific account: Individuals in two of the hotels room, located by the front desk, were in their rooms unmasked with the doors open to the hallway for several hours (1:05-3:00pm) until I called the front desk to ask of it was possible to have them close their doors. I was told said individuals were managers of the hotel and for that reason the front desk clerk couldnt help me. At 6:15 p.m. in a room before the entrance to the hotels pool area a large party of individuals (10-20 in total) were sitting indoors in a room unmasked, not socially distanced and eating dinner. I approached the party and calmly stated that I did not appreciate their disregard for the rest of the individuals in the hotel. That they should be masked, and should not be eating in a public space. The large party showed complete disregard, so I approached the front desk with my concern. For the second time that day, I was told that it was a manager responsible. In fact, it was the general manager who was again in violation of covid protocols, and there was nothing they could do. I addressed the group once more saying it was my understanding that the general manager was amongst them and that I would like his name. He introduced himself and immediately began yelling and came into my personal space, 6 inches from my face. The first thing he yelled was, you're the person who complained about me earlier, aren't you? He did not listen to my concerns, but told me I was wrong. He angrily asked me to step outside (this is a man speaking to a woman) to which I calmly responded I would be happy to continue speaking with him in the lobby. He proceeded to yell at me in the lobby and to violate my personal space, being incredibly aggressive. He had no interest in addressing my concerns and continuously told me I was in HIS hotel and he can do as he likes. He expressed anger that I had disrupted his time with his family and friends. By his own admittance, the party of 20+ individuals accompanying him were not hotel guests but personal guests of the General Manager. At least 10 times while being yelled at by him I had to announce that I was stepping back to regain my personal space, which he continuously impeded. He repeatedly put my health at risk by yelling mere inches from my face, in addition to being unmasked in the hotel and not socially distancing for the few hours I was there. I checked out that evening because I no longer felt safe at the hotel due to his aggression and because of the repeated covid violations. If you care about a business following covid protocol, and are concerned about the health and safety of your family, don't go to this establishment. You could also consider that maybe you nor your family members want to be subjected to such treatment by the general manager, should you voice any concerns.

Called down cause the room was freezing and I said no one older could handle it!! No way could u get in jazzier and that why we got it!!! The suit 198$ to be cold the maintenance guy said he would be back in hour to see how it was working and talk to his supervisor cause it needs a heating element!!! Never came back!!! There no reason to get in a room like that and it's that freezing

After the holiday festivities we just needed to have a night away. So we spontaneously decided to rent a room and take the kiddos for a night away. We had food delivery, spent a couple hours by the pool. This is amazing for the family, the hot tub is the size of the kiddie pool with a beautiful waterfall and mostly a indoor / outdoor pool where the family got to look at the moon & all the stars while being in a huge heated pool. This hotel gave us a perfect family night

Parking was good and close to the room. We could see our car from the window. The location was great for us, just minutes from family. We never got a chance to use the pool. We would have liked the Adirondack room but it was unavailable. The shower took a while to warm up.

Room was awesome, clean, big and the hot tub was amazing. Definitely will stay there again. The morning breakfast is great probably the best out of the hotels I've stayed in. Service was great and all staff were respectful.

Room was very clean - older hotel but kept well. Pool was fabulous for my two 10 year olds. Felt Covid safe. Staff was great and very helpful with local recommendations. Easy and plentiful parking. Good location. Everything you want and reasonable rates. It is an older hotel but I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

We travel often, but this is our favorite location. They have never failed to go far above and beyond to make us feel at home. If you are able to enjoy a themed suite, do so, and do not miss the pool!

Wonderful place to take your children for a night away. The outside heated pool is so fun in the winter. Hotel staff let you enjoy yourself and don't stand over you the whole time your in the pool. Very friendly staff.

My bride of 51 years and I are in the "compromised" category for Covid 19. We are VERY fussy where we would stay to feel comfortable. The Merry Manor is the one place we have gone, and will go to regarding this and the excellence of their staff. "Marie" from housekeeping does a wonderful job of deep cleaning and allowing us to be at ease. We have no qualms about being safe here. Plus, they set the bar of excellence very high AND maintain it. Amazing. Nathan, a new person that checked us in,,,,,, falls into the team effort and kindness we have come to expect. You all are incredible and thank you very much. We would highly reccomend staying here and being comfortable with the cleaning and level of caring of all the staff. Kudos - Harry and Claudette Old Fart Woodchucks :-) :-)

Very kind team! They actually phoned us the night before arrival to let us know the hot tub was out of order. We fully expected changes to our stay due to COVID precautions, but wish that there had been some list on the website or an email of unavailable amenities such as fitness center, restaurant, room service and stay-over house keeping (the pool was the only thing available for use). It's definitely no one's fault, and we understand it's for everyone's safety, but a heads up would have definitely changed our minds when deciding between booking this hotel vs. an air b&b. (Would also recommend requesting a room away from housekeeping closets, as the doors get banged pretty loudly during AM use.)

From the moment we stepped foot into the BW Merry Manor we were given a warm greeting. My soon to be nine year old had a smile on her face and she was excited from the get go. We used the outdoor heated pool and had a fantastic time.

My wife had surgery and we chose to stay at the Merry Manor Inn in S Portland because it had good reviews and was only 1-1/2 miles from the surgery center. The Inn is located near a highway but the noise was never obtrusive. We found the reception area very well done, clean and inviting. The staff behind the counter were pleasant, friendly professional and knowledgeable. We found the room also to be well up to standards ...very clean The beds were actually comfortable. The bathroom especially was sparkling clean and well stocked. The Inn even volunteered and gave us a medical discount for the room which was very reasonable without it. Inasmuch as their restaurant dining room was not open due to the virus issue, they delivered your fully prepared meal meal to your room...at no extra cost. I had stuffed haddock with potatoes and my wife had the chili/cheese nachos. Both meals were excellent. Both were very large meals. The highlight to both of us, however, was the young lady who answered the dining room phone, took our order and delivered the meals. Her name is Misty and she was great...friendly, upbeat, funny, professional and delivered the meals as promised...also makes a mean Manhattan. On leaving, they had a free grab and go bag to take with you which had a cookie, water and some other treats along with yogurt. All-in-all, a well run operation. I would definitely stay there again especially when the bar/restaurant is open.

Very comfy beds, great breakfast, wonderful heated pool, pleasant and helpful staff. Great coffee-free. Would highly recommend this hotel. Kids would love the heated pool. Very family friendly establishment

This is my favorite hotel in Maine. The staff are all friendly, the restaurant next door has great food and local beers on tap, and the heated outdoor pool is open all year. You can swim in a snowstorm!

Have stayed here many times and have never been disappointed. Hotel is very easy to get to / employees are very friendly / the rooms are very nice and clean / hot tub is nice and hot and outdoor-indoor pool was perfect temperature. Having the restaurant on-site is a plus. Good food. Breakfast is also very good in selection and staff is very friendly.

Great Service everyone was helpful and polite. Good food at the resturant. Great friendly service at the bar.The pool was awsome, we swan outside in a heated pool at night. The grandkids had a ball. They can't wait to go back. They said it was their best weekend ever!

Just perfect to return to a nice clean room with awesome pillows and comfortable beds after being in a cold hockey arena all day. Kids had a marvelous time in the outdoor heated pool and slept soundly.

My husband and I booked a one night get away and enjoyed our room, the pool and hot tub and also the continental breakfast. Everything was clean and tidy and very welcoming, despite the busyness of the weekend!

This place is amazing! Everyone, including the guests, were so friendly! The restaurant is a little pricey, but is worth the spend, and the drinks are awesome. Make sure to try out the swim-out heated pool, even in the winter it is an awesome experience. Glad we booked again for the trip back home from northern Maine.

The bathroom was very dirty, dried food left on the floor which makes me think room was not vacuumed prior to my arrival. Ice machine had a lot of mold. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great location with breakfast(free),heated outdoor pool that is entered from inside.Very helpful staff,also friendly.The Maine Table is attached and serves great food with friendly, fast service. There are improvement done every year.

This was an awesome time for the family. The pool, rooms, service, and breakfast were all just well above our expectations. Those in our group included retired folks down to a 2 year old, we had 3 rooms, and everyone wanted to stay an additional night. We will definitely be staying here again!!

My family and I went up there for a long weekend to take advantage of the outdoor heated pool. It was beautiful the first night then the heater broke and it was never really warm enough to go in again is the post office. One of the nights the fire alarm was pulled or went off twice we had to vacate our rooms and go downstairs after we were all ready for bed and the children were asleep. We never received apology an apology from the management for these inconveniences let alone I feel they should have taken some money off of the room rate I know. But probably not go back again just find a hotel with an indoor heated pool.

I stay here somewhat regularly for business. The hotel is a bit dated, but the staff if terrific, the hotel is clean, it's quiet, it's conveniently located, and if you like amenities the indoor outdoor heated pool in Maine in winter is fantastic. I personally feel the value you receive at this property for the price you pay is excellent.

Check in was delayed do to a staffing issue they stated which i thought was funny since a group was just sitting around a room next to the lobby. The pool heater was broken and that was a BIG problem since its an outdoor pool. The hotel seemed over booked with kids running a muck. States it's a no smoking property but they stand right out front of the entrance ways smoking cigarettes. I suggest staying someone place else

We were put in an outside access room. The heat was an issue. It was way to warm at night with turning the heat down. Draft from the door. People outside smoking pot and cigarettes. So my room smelled like pot and cigarettes. The 2nd night the smoke detector went off 2 times while we were sleeping. Told us to go wait in the lobby. We had outside access, so we didn't want to go out in the cold.

Great bargain for frequent short stays on long trips! Right off I-95N&S and I-295 N to Rt 1 in So. Portland..Breakfast buffet has a menu for most palettes. Both Portland down town & Maine Mall's minutes away.

Great location for when we take the kids snow tubing at Seacoast Adventure but they love the pool even more. Heated so indoor/outdoor pool is awesome. Nice that they have a bar and lounge on site but take note that we had some serious issues with service the 2 nights we are there. THe bartender was on point and friendly though. Staff was friendly, rooms are spotless and just a good all around stay.

I was skeptical with such a low rate, but amazingly surprise at all that was offered. Great heated pool, hot tub, breakfast and location. Super clean & friendly. Looking forward to staying again in the very near future.

Our room was equipped with a massage chair, microwave and fridge. The pool and hot tub were crowded but very nice (the indoor/outdoor pool in winter was a BIG hit). The furnishings/decor are a bit dated but the price can't be beat. Free breakfast in the morning was plentiful with a very nice variety and friendly staff.

The Maine Lodge room was wonderful with in room jacuzzi tub, log cabin decor and bed. The standard room was fine as well, incl the massage chair. The Maine Table restaurant gets a higher review than listed on Google. Food was great, service and atmosphere were wonderful.

This hotel was part of a coach tour and whilst the staff were friendly the hotel was not very clean. We were given a voucher for a free breakfast. The coach tour itself was called Colours of New England and should be avoided at all costs.

Front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly upon check-in. Breakfast: if you leave hungry, it's your own fault. Many options to choose from and very satisfying. Connecting restraint is very good.

5 families joined together on this weekend in January. I was thrilled to be able to Check in early and get to the pool early. This is an outdoor pool and we are in Maine but the pool is heated to a comfy temp and everyone spent hours in it. The hot tub is nice too. Great sleep and breakfast. They also let us use the forest room. We will be back

Rooms were comfortable, great night sleep, the facilities wee well maintained the teenagers enjoyed the hot tub and heated pool. Breakfast was good especially the bacon was well cooked. Hate raw bacon. staff was accommodating.

Great clean rooms comfortable beds hospitality was great best continental breakfast loved the pool and spa it was neat to be able to swim outside in the winter, lots of vending and ice machines. And a convenience store right on the premises

excellent customer service, cleanliness and safety is top notch! I like the ability to make the room cooler in temperature although it could use an extra blanket which is why I rated the sleep quality very good instead of excellent.. Very spacious room. I had a mobile accessible room.

This hotel has so much to offer. The outdoor pool is so clean and I loved to be able to swim during a snowstorm. After our swim, we warmed up by the fireplace at The Maine Table and had some drinks and appetizers which were so good. Great service, great hospitality, and I would definitely come back to this hotel!

I was so impressed by this hotel. Being in hospitality myself I know what I expect from a hotel experience. This hotel exceeded my expectations. The rooms are clean. The beds comfy. And the customer service is top notch. Breakfast had so many options I could have had seconds and thirds! Keep up the good work.

Everything at this hotel is really good for the price paid. I always say they have a great breakfast with a number of options, a fabulous pool and hot tub, clean rooms and a great staff. I don't always mention that the beds here are really good and great for a good knights sleep when on the road! Dollar for dollar this is one great hotel!!!

The location for this hotel is perfect-central to so many destinations! Kathy and her front desk staff were amazing! They are all friendly and willing to provide ideas and directions for you. And it's so handy having the restaurant right there!

I've been staying with this property now for awhile & nothing has ever gone wrong. Clean room, Friendly Staff, & the Free Breakfast they serve is nothing to compare to those cheesy continental breakfasts that the other Best Westerns serve. You get a real breakfast to start your day. I've also have stayed at many Best Westerns and not to many offer their Eliete Members both bonus points & a snack bag. These little touches is why they have my business for life!

If you want to be taken care of by a friendly, passionate staff and stay in a clean, comfortable room I would recommend this hotel hands down. If you can manage to get out of bed (the mattresses are heavenly!) you can dine in their great restaurant The Maine Table, enjoy their year-round heated pool and hot tub, and if you want to venture out, downtown Portland is only 3 miles away. Our furry friends are also welcomed here so we don't have to leave our beloved dogs or cats behind. I love the Best Western Merry Manor Inn!

The pool is the greatest in the area and the staff is friendly . Had the best sleep and love the pillows on the beds. The Maine Table has great food and service. Cookies at check in was a bonus and coffee available in lobby 24 hours

This hotel has everything you need from a relaxing hot tub, heated outdoor pool and an amazing breakfast! The staff is super friendly and always willing to help! The rooms are the cleanest too! I loved the comfort of the bed. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and relaxing stay!

According to management the area of the hotel is bad and they have had issues in the past with people prostituting themselves and even cooking meth in the hotel itself. The manager was unreasonable and made us leave the hotel during the worst snow storm of the year thus far, with an infant, based on an accusation we were not allowed to make any defense against.

My kids and I stayed for 3 nights over Thanksgiving, The hot tub, Pool and location will have us coming back. The room we were in was a bit dated. But it was clean. Staff was nice, a good free breakfast (super crowded and busy), Resturant on site was good. We had our Thanksgiving Meal there. The location is good. Close to all the shopping and there is a convenient store right next door. Price was reasonable. We will be back!! The outside pool was a kid favorite!

We frequently stay at the Merry Manor as it is a comfortable place. We see the same friendly and helpful staff. They all have excellent positive attitudes, that we have come to expect. And that is not always the norm today. It almost feels like coming home. Breakfast is fantastic, the Maine Table restraunt was a positive experience, and it is so nice to have it close by and convenient... Food was good. This is our most favorite Best Western and we reccomend it to others.

The hotel location was convenient, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the front desk staff was very pleasant. Short Lyft ride to downtown Portland and great value! I would most definitely return!

We had a quick check in, and very helpful staff and accomodating. the breakfast was good. the breakfast was actually very good and fresh with items that would tantalize the pallet of anyone. The rooms were clean and comfortable too.

Always thrilled to find a pet friendly hotel so we can take or 11 year old dog with us. The room had easy access to the area designated for pets. The room was very clean and there was nothing indicating other pets had stayed in it before us. The outdoor heated pool accessed through an indoor passageway was wonderful! Minor point about Best Western is they have moved to smaller square bed pillows and they just don't do it for me.

Our stay at the Best Western Merry Manor was enjoyable. The convenience of a bar and restaurant on the premises was one the reasons that drew us to this hotel. The convenience of walking from your room to the restaurant was a plus. There are also not man hotels that have a heated outdoor pool all year long. I would definitely stay here again.

My friends and I had an opportunity to stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The staff members were friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was above average. The HVAC unit, hairdryer, refrigerator, and microwave worked great. Although the corridors were slightly dated, they are maintained well. I noticed a few lampshades in the room were cracked and damaged. Not a big deal but worth mentioning. I would stay at this hotel if given the opportunity.

I always try to stay at a Best Western when I travel as they are always of great quality and value for money. I am not sure how they are categorised whether they are “just” a standard Best Western (blue) or a plus (red) etc but I stayed in BW Plus hotels which did not deserve a Plus sign and equally stayed in standard BWs which delivered way beyond expectations. The Merry Manor Inn is a fine example of the latter. This is way better than a standars Best Western. From the moment I arrived until I checked out is was a great experience. Check in was easy, quick, I was even given a welcome goodies bag. The room was clean, spacious, it had a HUGE tv and a very comfy bed. Great, powerful shower. Breakfast was again beyond what I expected, all sort of hot food, cereals, pastries, waffle, pancakes and so on. The breakfast staff were amazing as well. All in all very pleasant and would stay anytime again. Thank you

This is the best experience I have on the hotels I had stayed ever. I was greeted with two bottles of water and snacks from the front-desk staff since I'm a platinum member of Best western when I checked-in. The hotel staff(front-desk staff when I checked-in and out, the housekeepers) were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great ,too. They have more options than the others and I wish they have the potatoes, but overall I think it was great. My room was very clean, roomy, and there are many useful items(travel magazine help you get around, microwave, fridge, and phone book)in the room if you need. I'll come back for sure when I'm visiting Portland again!

So the hotels in downtown Portland was very expensive. This hotel was reasonable in price and it was like a 10 minute drive to downtown. Perfect location. The breakfast included had a good variety. And the staff was nice and helpful. The room was also clean and a good size. The bathroom was nicely updated. Really happy we stayed here.

We are Best Western rewards members - and got a FREE upgrade because of that! We were upgraded to Captain Lafayette's Suite - and I can't begin to say how nice it was. Huge whirlpool tub, massage chair in suite, matching robes, huge room, very private, etc. And Ally, the front desk clerk was simply awesome! The breakfast was awesome too! Quite, clean hotel with friendly, personable staff. Would definitely stay here again!!

Great people ,clean rooms, continental breakfast awesome would highly recommend the Merry Manor Inn to all my family and friends. Heated indoor/outdoor Pool was like bath water . Outside temp in the 40's water was nice and warm. Nice waterfall feature in the whirlpool as well

Stayed one night here on the last night of a trip to Maine. The hotel has good access to S. Portland, the Portland Head Lighthouse, and the airport. My overall rating of the hotel has more to do with the price charged for the room. The hotel and the room itself was clean. Housekeeping does a good job. However, the hotel is long overdue for updating. Decor appears to be mid 1990's, mattress was hard, lots of suspended ceilings, carpets worn. The location itself felt much more urban than was displayed on the booking site (but aren't they all?). Advice to travellers.... due to the many events in Portland, be sure to book your hotel EARLY. Or you will end up paying a price for your room which may result in a likewise perceived poor value.

We're only here to catch a plane or we'd get our money back and go somewhere else. We are Best Western member and this is prolly the worst one we've stayed in. I'm not going to list the problems but this place needs help everywhere. The staff was great, though. Really helpful, positive and friendly.

Our room at the Best Western Merry Manor was very nice, clean and accomodating. Our AC/Heat wasn't working, the circuit breaker needed to be reset but my husband figured that out & took care of it. The restaurant & lounge were very nice, the drinks & food were all very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Location was easy to find. Room was delightful. Plenty of hot water; usually I have to turn the know all the way hot to get the temp hot enough for me....not here. The hot water was lobster boil hot...first time I've ever had to turn hot water down. Shampoo & conditioner were lovely.

We nearly always stay at Merry Manor when traveling to the Portland area. The prices are reasonable, and the heated outdoor pool that's open year-round is a huge benefit. The fact that a decent breakfast is included in the price makes it even more affordable. The staff is always super helpful and kind, and the rooms are recently renovated and quite nice.

We knew we wouldn't be in our room much so we were mainly looking for location and clean, comfortable room. We were about a five minute drive to downtown Portland which worked well. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. My husband enjoyed the massage chair! Our only complaint was the breakfast. Not very appealing or tasty. Would recommend as a good location if you prefer not to stay in main part of town.

Quick and pleasant check-in. Older hotel needing some touch-ups but it was clean and it was quiet. Close to waterfront and good restaurants. Near all major roadways which made it easy. Great location for vacationers and wedding guests.

We have driven from Manassas, Va with many stops along the way. Our stay in Maine was short and great. First we had some of the best Clam Chowder in all of the US i South Portland. Next we visited two beautiful light houses. Well worth the trip. Fall colors are beautiful

This is a nice inn. I would stay here again in the future. I selected this particular inn because of its location. It is close to lots of special places to shop, shop, shop and I loved that. Your vehicle is close to your room. Nice pool (newly renovated). Nice free breakfast (danish, scrambled eggs, cheese/egg omelettes, bacon, sausage, bagels, toast, cereals, fresh fruit, pancakes, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and more). Delicious 4:00 p.m. M&M Cookies in the lobby. Hot coffee and tea available 24-hours a day in the lobby. Delicious coffee pods in each room. The young staff is extremely helpful, informative, and friendly.

We stop and ask if They had a room for 2 nights very accommodating ...told about some of the interesting places to see...pool was awesome and a hot tub that was big enough with a water fall ..also had a kiddie pool

The positives first: comfortable bed, hot and cold running water and relatively quiet. Breakfast was the saddest affair I have ever encountered and this hotel chain should be totally ashamed of its breakfast buffet. Everything served on plastic plates, plastic cutlery etc. Food presented in the least appetising way possible in a horrible, cramped dingy room with no natural light. I felt sick for 2 hours after and I barely ate anything. We tried the swimming pool. One of the lights had become detached from its mounting and was lying at the bottom of the deep end. Cracked edging stones were also noted around the perimeter of the pool making it quite unsafe. Would I stay here again? Not if you paid me. I simply cannot understand why anyone would give this more than one star. There are surely better places to stay!

A convenient place to stay over for travels up and down route 95. Breakfast and rooms very nicely updated. We were here 8 years ago for a wedding and can see the updates to the rooms. The beds are firmer, the bathrooms redone. Having an outer and inner sink by the bathroom is very good as well as the additional shelving and towel rods.

This hotel was very comfortable and had the most pleasant personnel we have ever encountered in a hotel. Always smiling and willing to help in any way they could. Will definitely stay here on our next trip to Maine.

The property was average in appearance, room and location. The front desk staff were both personable and professional. The 4th star (circle) was for the spa and pool, especially the spa. It was wonderful. Also, the connected restaurant provided good food for dinner at a fair price with competent service. The complimentary breakfast was not particularly impressive, but I think that was due in part to the staff being overwhelmed......it was CROWDED. Overall, a good experience.

Year round outdoor heated pool is great. Staff goes out of their way to make sure you're stay is great. Location is great to enjoy the city. Close to old orchard beach with plenty to do in the surrounding area.

The room was clean, the pool area and the hot tub area was very nice and clean. The front desk staff was very good and fast at checking in and out. The breakfast was really good several great choices in the food quality was very good, and the breakfast staff was wonderful. The maintenance staff was very fast to respond to our problem and get it rectified properly very happy with the maintenance staff. The only negative that we had was there were nowhere in the room to hang clothes no hangers or no closet to hang clothes. Some of the gas like to hang out in the parking lot late and drink and be sort of loud but not too much of an issue

Stayed here with my daughter for a few days. Let's start with the location. Convenient..right off the highway. That's the good part. It's in a semi depressed area if that bothers you. Quite a few shuttered shops and restaurants surround property. You do have to drive a ways to get to the sights. It would work ok as a “home base”. Check in: staff at front desk very nice and professional. Housekeeping very nice. Lobby was clean and seemed to be recently renovated. Hallways to rooms dated and musty smelling near pool. Room was ok. Yes just ok. It was one of the renovated rooms. Still had some holes in the wall but it was clean. It was small. Hotel was undergoing a obvious renovation as there was construction equipment in the rear. Tried the breakfast one day...it was just ok..no seats. Very crowded small area. Overall it was a ok hotel. Have I stayed in better at the same price point? Yes definitely. Would I stay there again if in the area? No I would not.

So over the past 4 years I've probably stayed here well over 100 nights on business. I always provide feedback to hotel but wanted to share on TA. Clean comfortable rooms, big TVs, Ally and Casey at the front desk always greet me with “hi Michael”. Big beautiful swimming pool and gas grills and tables around it. Love this place and whenever I'm in Portland area for work this is where I stay. Just a great hotel.

The immaculate pool and spa, alone, were enough to make this stay worth it! The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful as soon as we walked through the doors. Rooms were very nice and they were very clean. Can not recommend this place enough. The pool is heated and outdoors and the spa has a beautiful waterfall feature. The attached restaurant was delicious, fast and fresh. Will be returning to this place again when in the area.

Great facility and is close to lots of amenities. Staff were super helpful and the breakfast was great. Pool was warm for which the kids enjoyed. Easy check in and check out process. Internet was good as well.

My husband and I stay at this motel every time we visit our family in Portland. It is clean and conveniently located to the highway. The breakfast buffet is great and the staff as friendly and helpful.

Last year we stayed here for my mother's funeral. We had a block of rooms and found that this property has a shady crowd during the off season. There were several rooms with contract workers that had pot smoking, loud partying, and backpage girls coming and going. After several complaints they finally addressed the problem. There was a fight over parking with other rooms with the police called. Terrible experience. Now to our current stay and experience. Rex who was the guest manager asked me to remove and rewrite my previous review to keep their rating. I was promised a comp on a future visit. I spoke to Ken the manager and he offered a room for my wife, son, and myself. He promised a 2 queen bed room. Upon checking in we were given a single King . I called the front desk and was told too bad the only 2 queen room not checked in is not an option due to my mistake. I spoke with both Ally and Lindsey at the desk. Lindsey was stuck trying to reach a manager but Ken was busy setting up some sort of personal party and not answering his phone. Todd who took over for Rex did not answer his phone, so Kathy an assistant manager who was never involved told Lindsey the only option was to stay in the King or go up to Portland to their sister property. Ally was real snooty and tried to twist the whole conversation around. She started snapping at me and was short with me for questioning the situation. She failed to realize that my phone recorded the whole conversation. She tried to make it like I was in the wrong when in fact she has the negative customer service attitude. Several reviews have stated this fact. I really hoped that things were better this time but sad to say they have not. I see Rex has moved on to better opportunities. He was the bright spot of this hotel.

Stayed here last year in August, but had no tripadvisor account to review! We are coming back here in a few days, so we will be looking forward to seeing this awesome hotel again. Breakfast is the best I have ever seen at a hotel, there was everything! Swimming area was awesome as well, a hot tub with a cute waterfall, and I loved the pool. Was very quiet at the pool when we went swimming. Staff was helpful as well. An all-around awesome place!

Staff was great and very helpful, tons of breakfast options of good quality. The pool area was beautiful, I wish we would have had time to use it. I did spend time in the massage chair in our room though!

We were surprised at the.thineas of the walls, floors, and doors. We were able to listen to what neighbors on either side of us were watching on TV. Ice machine and laundry directly across from us added to.the noise issue. Not what we expect from a BW. Brakfast was delicious and staff were extremely nuce.

This was our first stay at a Best Western and it won't be our last! The staff was friendly and the rooms were comfortable. We really enjoyed the outdoor pool and the hotel's central location. This is overall a very good hotel!

Why anyone stays anywhere else is nonsense to me. The Merry Manor welcomes you with smiles and happiness in a gorgeous relaxing lobby, the rooms are huge, clean and superbly furnished, the pool and hot tub are sparkling and well kept. Nothing here is below Superb.

Hotel was clean and well-maintained. Only irritation was that I was told I could not use my BW Rewards to get points for my stay because I was with a group tour. I'm still a member, I should have been able to accrue those points.

This is one of my more enjoyable hotel stays in recent memory They had fresh baked cookies every time I was in the lobby. The front desk employees were very helpful. My room was great, more outlets both standard and usb than you could ever use. The bed was extremely comfortable and it has two sinks with a separate closeable area for the toilet and shower room. The TV's appear to be around 48-50 inch flat screens which are a nice perk as well. The rooms are clean, tons of room and well maintained complete with a microwave and fridge. If I am nitpicking, which obviously it didn't change my opinion at all on my stay, the rooms blackout curtains still let a lot of light in and the ac was sort of loud if those sort of things are deal breakers for you. But overall a great stay and will look to stay here again if ever in Portland. It is only a 10 -15 minute drive into Portland where a lot of the action is.

I enjoyed the cookie and coffee in the lobby living room. Check-in and check out were quick and the Inn has a good-looking exterior. I enjoyed the pool and spa. There is also a well-kept small gym and computer area.

Spent a night here during a roadtrip to Portland. Room was clean and comfortable, staff were pleasant and helpful and breakfast was pretty decent too. I had low expectations but would stay here again if in the area.

We had such a lovely stay for an anniversary overnight getaway. The room was awesome, the service was fantastic, and our dinner at the on-site restaurant was yummy. The ladies at the front desk were super sweet and helpful. Very Happy- would definitely stay again.

We spent one night here traveling from Boston to Bar Harbor. We found it clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was what you'd expect from complimentary breakfast option. (Might consider improving signage to know how to get to breakfast area. It's a spreadout hotel.)

I had such high Hopes but the experience at checkout quickly faded. Indoor hot tub had to be closed during thunderstorms because it is connected to the outdoor pool and no way to lock the door? Couldn't even dry off and had to walk through hotel sopping wet. Room wasnt cleaned until 2pm ( which is why we went to the pool in the first place) . No air conditioning on in the restaurant on an 88 degree day. Bar drinks were great--food was only ok. Fair service. When I was asked at checkout how my stay was, I explained my disappointment to the clerk. I added that I have arthritis and chose a hotel with a hot tub on purpose, and then couldn't use it. When I tried to add something more, she stopped me and said "I'm not done talking yet". I am furious. I realize it was a busy holiday weekend, but I would never stay here again and would never recommend it to anyone. Any of the good points of this stay were cancelled out by their "policy" on the hot tub and the disrespectful way I was treated.

It was easy to get a good nights sleep without sounds from the adjoining rooms. The staff was pleasant, room was clean, and a very good breakfast was offered at the restaurant. We liked the location of the pool and wished we were not too tired to use it when we returned to our room.

Front desk booking problems led to problems. Booking July 3 through Expedia, because unavailability of desk personnel at 9:09 PM. Having man at 11:27 PM persistly try to open our deadlocked bolted room door was frightening.on July 3. Mistake of Front Desk July 3 Booking We thought an intoxicated man had wrong room Istead the office staff had booked our room with someone else.

Room rate included a hot buffet breakfast with lots of choices. Lovely indoor heated pool and small gym area. Room had two extremely comfortable double beds. Super fluffy mattresses. Toiletries provided and a basic coffee machine and fridge in room. Very clean rooms and surroundings.

A high power sprinkler started spraying our window at 20 second intervals at 3 am from 2 feet away. It sounded like an airplane taking off. Every. 20. Seconds. We called and they moved the sprinkler so it sprayed under the window. Not a huge improvement. Then the check out lady told us we were lying about the sprinkler.

I try to stay at Best Westerns when on the road, they have always been a nice experience for us. If we have a concern the staff will go out of their way to meet our needs. Some may not be as modern as others but they are comfortable rooms.

Our flight into Portland was delayed causing us to have to cancel a reservation on Peaks Island. We were going to arrive late that night and were in need of a place to stay. The lady at the desk was so gracious and gave us a VERY nice room at a VERY reasonable rate. I was so relieved as we were going to arrive very late and having never been to the area we needed something quick. She was a real lifesaver! The room was exceptionally nice, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was the best. I especially liked the yogurt machine and latte machine. So many choices, delicious and fresh. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a large property right off the highway. The room was well furnished and quiet, and even had an excellent massage chair for relaxing. I appreciated the Keurig in the room complete with tea bags. The complimentary breakfast was the best I've ever seen, with scrambled eggs, omelets, French toast, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, Danish, assorted juices and every variation of coffee from regular to espresso and cappuccino. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

Traveled to South Portland for family visit. First time here. This hotel is in a great location just off the interstate and located near restaurants, attractions , shopping, and local stores. Hotel is very clean and rooms are comfortable. Rooms have everything you need! Keurig for coffee in your room too! Breakfast is great. Even though it is described as continental breakfast, it is a full hot breakfast. Scrambled eggs, biscuits, fruit, pastries, waffles, etc. . The staff here are so friendly. At check in the front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful! When we come back, we will stay here again! Thank you to everyone for making our stay a great one!

The heated pool and hot tub were the best. Very enjoyable and relaxing. Location is very convenient, close to the highway and all of great things Portland has to offer. Breakfast was good too...it was a great overall value and experience.

I have stayed at this hotel for several years while traveling for work. I continue to stay now that I am retired. Everything about this hotel (familiar, friendly staff, location, cleanliness) is perfect!

Although the hotel is undergoing some renovations our stay here was well worth it. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom was a little cramped but again was very clean. The staff were extremely friendly, which was a very nice surprised based on previous hotel stays in Boston. The breakfast was very good with a great variety of options. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the Portland area... easy access and from major highways and less than 10 minutes to Portland center.

Clean rooms, good bed and plenty of pillows. Excellent location and lots of amenities (pool, gym, etc. Our first stay at a BW. Objective critique would be tiny vanity area and room entry doors had more than an inch gap to floor at bottom. Ive yet to stay at a "perfect " place for less than $200/night. This was under $100. Im satisfied. I would stay here again.

We have been coming to the Merry Manor in Portland over the years whenever we can. The reason is simple and straightforward: Our stays are always great, and we have never been dissapointed. IT has constantly been a good value with excellent service. The staff are all customer friendly and exemplify a most positive and friendly attitude... It has not changed over the years. The breakfast is amazing. The restaraunt is a good place to eat as well. And one of the important things is,,, housekeeping has never let us down by the condition of the room. They keep it clean and spotless.. This Best Western is the yardstick that we measure other stays by. And, sadly, most other places fall short. Passing through on a quick roadtrip the Merry Manor worked out beautifully for not only its location but also good value, good service and decent bedding and rooms. I was pleased with how clean the room was and it was nicely updated. They have a very hearty continental breakfast too. I'd definitely stay there again.

Love this hotel they have amazing customer service are always courteous and polite. We always stay here when we are in the area they have an awesome heated indoor/outdoor pool so even in the middle of winter you can be swimming outside and be warm along with a great hotub that has alot if water jets and a waterfall that you are able to control whether it is on and how much water flow you want goin to it. Then they offer the best breakfast I've ever had a hotel, they have something for everyone even picky eaters. I have and will continue to recommend and stay here anytime we are in the area. It's a great hotel experience. I highly recommend anyone to stay there!

We brought the kids here for the weekend and they just loved swimming while it was snowing. My wife and I love the new upstairs breakfast room there is always plenty of room and great food. Because it was snowing so hard we did not want to drive in the snow so we stayed in and had a wonderful meal at the Maine Table restaurant which is right on property. Courtney the bartender is a hoot!

I recently stayed here with a group for a 3 day conference. Saying that the staff was EXCEPTIONAL does not really do them justice. While the property is not a 5 star hotel, I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone staying in the area. The rooms were excellently laid out and had all the amenities you could need. Refrigerator and microwave as well as a coffee machine. Plenty of storage for clothes and a king sized bed. The property has an excellent restaurant with a bar as well as an inside/outside pool. The staff is beyond EXCELLENT and I actually thought we were at Disney as EVERY single person treated us like old friends. You will not be disappointed staying here.

Clean room, very friendly personnal, Restaurant at the hotel very nice and food is very good. Real nice place to stay. Felt in security. Fast check in and fast check out. Nice gym. Very appreciate the Hot pool and the sauna.

Check in was quick and smooth with a friendly gentelman. Room was neat, clean and comfortable with enough room for 3 small grandchildren to romp and play a bit. Beds were very comfortable with lovely white clean bedding. Lots of towels for us all. Most hotels we go to have enough for 2, even when we have 4 in a room and always have to call front desk for more. We booked this hotel because it had a complementary hot breakfast and a heated indoor/outdoor pool/ hot tub making it easier to entertain the little ones. There was a very good extensive hot breakfast with lots to choose from for all of us. The kids loved the pool and begged us to take them everyday, even after a long romp at the park. Staff at this hotel are so friendly and helpful, even the workers we met in the hallways, who were always so sweet to the kids. Would definitely stay here again. Checkout was a breeze and the woman (Laura, or Lauren, I think) was sweet and got me signed up for the Best Western Rewards program.

Great stop over point for us, easy check in, good sized and clean room, inclusive breakfast was a bonus, staff very friendly, great location for a day in Portland. Don't expect the Ritz, but good value for a well used all in hotel.

Business trip filming and working long hours. It was amazing to come back to our hotel to the most friendly people on every level. Free full breakfast is amazing! Try the espresso machine. Wish we had time to swim and jacuzzi it looked great. Lastly we ate dinner at the restaurant after a long day and the Brussels sprouts, dessert and wine selection was top notch. What a secret!!! Thank you. Will definitely stay here again!!

Even though we didn't call ahead, the front desk worked hard to find us a room at a fair price. The outdoor heated pool is the absolute best relaxation one can find during cold and cooler months. There is a large variety of items for breakfast.

This hotel was fine. Quiet, very clean and the friendly person at check in offered an upgrade to an interior room. The bed was comfortable. I like staying at BW, it doesn't disappoint. Location was great for an early morning trip to the Jetport.

I stayed at the best western for a conference with my daughter for 2 nights. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the decor was great. The beds were comfortable. The staff at the front desk were polite, and friendly. The meal at the hotel restaurant was delicious and the atmosphere was great. The pool and hot tubs are a great way to relax while staying at the hotel.

I picked this place for babymoon where we could enjoy being in the water when the weather wasn't good, based on the reviews here, which were spot on as usual so I wanted to return the favour. Loved: - clean and sunny hot tub area and the pool with very cute waterfall - best continental breakfast (included) that I've seen, which also included some non-junk-carb options - even an espresso machine! - gym was nice clean, too - it was small but nobody else was there so it was sufficient - 10 min. ride from Portland downtown, which has awesome restaurants - coffee served in the lobby all day - the massage chair in the room was a great bonus that I hadn't seen even in luxury hotels per se Improvement areas: - the main pool and the hot tub were too crowded - especially with some people playing football and all - it was disturbing at times - the kiddie pool was too cold to be useful - it should be heated similarly to the main pool so some of the kids can use it instead of making the main pool and the hot tub all the more crowded - would love to have some beans at breakfast that doesn't contain sugar - it would be so good if the hot tub were larger - there is a lot of room to make that happen, too

This is an awesome older hotel that we love to stay at on our way through Portland ....it is always clean and homey and as with all the Lafayette family owned hotels the staff is always friendly and the breakfast included with your stay is amazing

A nice clean hotel near the Maine Mall and lots of other shops and restaurants. The outdoor heated pool is open year round and it's awesome... Especially in the winter! You climb in the water inside the building and then transition outside through a little "tunnel" and you're outside and still warm! Our family frequently goes here just for a night away and a great swim. This is also a pet friendly establishment. Breakfast is... Umm... Ok.... But hey, it's complimentary. :)

Merry Manor is a great Best Western Hotel. Very easy to get to. Close to shopping areas and restaurants (including their own). The rooms are very nice and beds very comfortable. Breakfast always has a great selection. Hot tub is the best - very large with a water fall. The heated pool (inside to outside) is actually heated. With warmer weather will be more people in the pool - recommend exterior room so don't have the loud noises from those in the pool. Pool time closes at 10pm - it was closed at 10pm so quiet after that time.

I asked for one of their “newly” renovated rooms and this is what I received. It's going to be a long 4 days. The only thing that is “newly” renovated is the paint! I've been coming here for 15yrs and nothing has changed!

First time at this hotel. Loved the location, the bed was great and the breakfast buffet was way more than I expected. The hot tub was large and had a nice waterfall. The indoor outdoor heated pool was fun to experience. I would stay there again.

Best Westerns are turning out to be one of my favorites. This Best Western franchise is owned by a charitable company. The staff are understanding and accommodating taking care to not disturb their pet guests. The in-room fridge was quiet. The lobby coffee dispensers were always full of fresh coffee. Except for Saturday night when kids were enjoying the pool, the other nights were very quiet. Great location set back far enough from Main Street.

The staff is wonderful and the pool is amazing! Waterfall in hot tub was fun. This is the only hotel I enjoy in the winter. It has semi spoiled it for me to go anywhere else. The pool, at night is unreal.

We were impressed they had an our door mineral heated pool. Very nice. Breakfast was included with the room. It is not your typical hotel continental breakfast. It had everything. Eggs, meat, sausage gravy, beans, cereal, yogurt, juice coffee, toast and bakery items as well as some fruit. Make your own waffles iron. Excellent stay. We will be back.

This is a great place to stay! The location is very convenient for those that are looking to explore Portland and surrounding areas such as Freeport, Old Orchard Beach or Wells Beach. The amenities are top notch and service staff at the hotel was exceptional!

Nice clean facilities. Bed was by far the siftess most comfortable hotel bed. Huge TV! Snall tub with only luke warm water in the morning for a shower. Best selection for breakfast that I have ever seen. I would choose this location every time I visit Portland Me.

Very nice hotel with a family atmosphere. The pool is very nice and something to look forward to at the end of the day. The bed was a little to firm for my taste, but the value and customer service made up for it.

We were greeted with a smile and had amazing service from start to finish. The restaurant was amazing, great food, friendly service and a very cozy upscale environment. Definately would recommend to anyone.

We found this place while wanting to take our 10yr old away for school break. Orbitz had some mixed reviews but more good reviews than bad and the nightly rate was very affordable. We got there very early and we were able to check in early with no extra fee's and they are Pet friendly so we were able to take our Boston Terriers along. The pool was awesome. Nice and warm and you never felt like you were swimming in 28degree temps. The bar and restaurant were really nice to have on site too. But you also have the Irving station right there adn also Coppersmiths which we enjoyed one night.All in all we cant wait to go back and this time with no kids or dogs!

Was a good location , reasonable priced , loved the pool . we were able to get to the mall with inn 3 mins and old port in 5-6 min. better breakfast then most places . the pool is great ,but be prepared for loots of kids , there no adult only time . We went to the lounge both nights , big selection for alcohol , but you have to know what you want their menu is limited . no snacks offred at the bar after 10 .

The pool was great, much more comfortable than I expected! Was nice to get get out and swim on a 20 degree day! Rooms were average but compfortable. Breakfast line was crowded and a little slow to replenish however it all tasted good and full breakfast options - waffles, pancakes, eggs, French toast, bacon, sausage, cereal, bagels, muffins, fruit. We had an issue with the heater in our room being extremely loud, service desk handled our concerns well.

We loved the breakfast buffet and the late checkout option and the early check in option. The breakfast buffet included all the bacon you can eat. The muffins were so fresh and delicious. The pool was clean and was open late so we used the hot tub and pool before bed. The room we were given forced us to walk outside in the cold to get to the pool and restaurant.

We visit this location in South Portland a few times a year as it has a wonderful heated outside pool and inside hot tub. The complementary breakfast is wonderful and the staff is over the top friendly. Rooms are typical but we love it there.

This hotel has a lot to offer for a great price! The people that staff the hotel are some of the best. The hotel is always clean. The FREE hot breakfast is excellent, good food with a great selection of items. Has a wonderful heated outside pool year round and a large hot tub with a waterfall! The hotel itself was clean. Restaurant next do was great. I do advise not getting a room next to the pool if you go to bed before 10 pm. I was so upset with how loud and how clear you could hear everyone. The walls are crazy thin. Needless to say I didn't sleep at all. Not to mention the heater in our room didn't work correctly. I would have rather stayed home this weekend.

Fast friendly service, clean rooms at affordable rate. Easy parking. Breakfast is amazing. I travel a lot for business and I have found this property to be one Of my favorites to stay in Portland. Friendly and accommodating staff, clean rooms and large breakfast selection. The only downsides for me were that the floor seemed to stay cold, the bathtub did not drain well, and finding the breakfast room is a little confusing. None of those were really big deals. I always appreciate having a fridge and a microwave.

This hotel has so much to offer on its own. The pool & hot tub are so nice. The kids love the cookies at night. The location is great to be able to find many things to do as well. We'll be coming back with our family for sure!

Room was nice, bed was average. We stayed while in town for PBR. Unable to try the pool out. We did get the free continental breakfast in the morning which was good! Would definitely recommend for a place not in the hustle and bustle of the city.

The hotel had easy access off and on the freeway. Great room decently clean and had a good breakfast selection. The dining room on site was OK but noisy . Food selection was limited and only OKbut good overall location en route to Florida from Canada.

I can't get over the free breakfast that is offered to guests here! There is an expresso machine that makes cappuccinos and lattes, there is coffee, juices, flavor shots for your coffee, whole fruit, fruit salad, scrambled eggs, omelets, hash, bacon, sausage, biscuits with gravy, pancakes, waffles, bagels and toast, Chobani yogurt, a yogurt machine with various toppings....I probably even forgot a few things! The room was pretty standard and I liked having a microwave and mini fridge for no extra charge. My room faced the outdoor pool area and was very quiet on the 3rd floor. They have rooms that face the back parking lot and I'm not sure how those would be, considering they seem to cater to a lot of work trucks. I did not use the pool or any other facilities but would definitely say this hotel has earned it's rating by having the best free breakfast ever!

Checked in after a long flight and find my room out back in the basement. Cold floor, depressing room, bathroom too small to close the door from the inside. Asked for a different room and was denied because they would be sold out two days from now. Diamond Select member, business traveler, on the road quite a bit....rooms like this shouldn't exist.

This property has recently been updated and the guest rooms and common areas are Beautiful! The outdoor heated pool is a must see. You are able to swim under the stars which was soooo much fun! The breakfast offers soooooo many choices, you will not leave hungry.

Rooms were clean location was a little out of town but easy to get to from 95 exit and entrance. Also close to many restaurants. Breakfast was the usual Best Western. Would stay again. WiFi worked well.

Front staff were friendly. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great. We've never had a breakfast with so many options before. . Easy to find off the interstate. We will stay here again.

My family and I love going here. we stay multiple times throughout the year. Our favorite time of the year is NYE because the kids get to play in the pool until midnight and they have cookies and hot chocolate in the lobby to celebrate.

The Merry Manor is right off the Maine Turnpike in South Portland, so it is equally easy to access the beautiful outdoors in Cape Elizabeth and Scarborough or downtown Portland. Rooms are clean, staff is pleasant, the breakfast offerings are substantial. The heated outdoor pool is very enjoyable even in the dead of winter, and the large hot tube is nice and warm. We stay here when we have a getaway in Portland or as a stop on our way further north.

We stayed over night for New Years Eve. The room was very very clean. We had a King Bed, it was very comfortable. Pillows were nice and soft too. WE would stay again. We were very pleased with our over all stay.

This place is great indoor outdoor pool is the big get we took our 3 year old granddaughter there for using the potty wahoo no more diapers yes the bribe worked great but it is a nice place to stay the staff was great and the breakfast was also good

Great price and great resort. We love to use the pool and hot tub. Both are very clean. The breakfast area is a little difficult to get to but so worth the walk. They have alot of options to choose from.

Staying at the Best Western Merry Manner Inn really made the visit a great experience .for the whole family . The staff was outstanding the breakfast was enjoyable and the heated pool was a plus for the children to swim outside during the winter season.

This is my favorite hotel. The beds are great, the heated outdoor all-season pool is awesome. Everyone who works there is so nice. And the attached restaurant is certainly worth checking out. Their menu has a really great variety and usually they have some interesting beers in tap at the bar. Sometimes they even have live music!

This is a wonderful place to come and relax with an outdoor splash indoor heated pool that is great to relax in after you have worked out in the gym area. There is a restaurant on the property that a good selection and a bar to wet anyone thirst. I would recommend for anyone to come and stay.

This hotel has everything you want and need when staying in the area. Right off the highway, you can be anywhere in the City in minutes.The hotel staff is always working to ensure you have a great stay and continually friendly.The hotel offers an awesome heated pool (and it's really warm, not cold like most), a huge jacuzzi inside with great lounge area. Having a restaurant onsite is perfect and the food is really good, as is the breakfast. I'm a traveling salesman and stay at hotels roughly 200 nights/year, this place has gorgeous rooms, comfortable beds, immaculate bathrooms and each room is furnished perfectly. Stay here, enjoy Portland and relax!

I recently stayed three nights at the Merry Manor inn with family and a few friends. There are some great things about the hotel, and there are some that need improvement but all in all a pleasant stay. The good was the location and cost, we where 10 min from downtown without paying the downtown cost. The outdoor pool was exactly what we hoped for, open from 6am until 10pm, plenty of time to swim outside in the heated pool.(Hot tub and indoor cold pool as well)The room was average and in some need of updating.( The seem to be giving the exterior and some of the interior much needed face lift) The continental breakfast was less than desirable however the Espresso was great. The have a full bar at the attached Maine Table restaurant that is open late, perfect for catching a game and having a drink. Everyone we encountered at the Merry Manor was professional and courteous, I would 100% stay again.

First of all LAURA you are amazing. My wife and I are so thankful you were their when we called. The staff at this hotel were friendly, helpful and cared about the people staying there, but Laura did a wonderful job of turning what had been a blah day and making it a special night for my new bride and I. We got to stay in one of their theme rooms maine woods it was called. It was clean, beautiful and so relaxing. From the jacuzzi tub to the massage recliner chair they thought od everything. We sat watching the fire in the beautiful propane fire place. The comfort yet elegance of the way the room was done made us so relaxed and felt so important. The hot tub with the waterfall was so relaxing down stairs. We sat then talking and laughing 2 or 3 times that night. Our favorite part was the outdoor heated pool that u entered from inside. Sitting in pool in the cold and snow flurries while the steam rolled off the water was so romantic. The only thing that we had to critique were the cold hallways, but they even had robes in room to wear to the pool. Thank you and we will definately be back and will definately recommend.

A great place to stay, would recommend it to family & friendsCheck in staff were friendly & professional It was a great place to rest for the night on our way to the Berkshire mountains. It wasn't to far from the Maine mall and the Cracker Barrell restaurant is across the street from the mall if you are looking for a place to eat.

I stayee here with three friends for a convention. We spent the evening chatting and listening to music until we were rudely interupted by hotel staff storming into our room asking "how many people are in here?!" There were the 4 that were on the reservation. "Well we have received a noise complaint and if it happens again you will have to leave!!" She seemed almost pleased to tell us that. We checked out a day early because we were disgusted by the attitude towards the convention guests . I was also charged for an extra night for"incidentals" and still have not been refunded 5 days later even though we left the room spotless.

Merry Manor Inn is my choice of hotel to stay when I am in Portland and down for a shopping weekend and also when just passing through. They have a great breakfast in the morning and they have a convenient restaurant attached to the hotel. I usually get a king room. Haven't had any issues for the past 6 years of staying there.

Large, well-appointed room which appeared clean. We found the staff courteous and responsive. Our tour group had a catered meal which was served lukewarm at best. The service and table settings were immaculate. So disappointed in the quality of the food in our Lobster bake. My clam chowder was cold and gritty as were the clams and mussels. It would have been better if they had actually washed the seafood before cooking it. Lobster was overcooked. The steak, potatoes, and corn were overcooked. If you are looking for a place to sleep, go. If you are planning wedding rehearsal or meeting that requires meals, keep looking.

The breakfast had an abundant variety to offer guests and the breakfast ladies were nice! The staff at the front desk was very polite and helpful in every interaction. Our favourite part was the pool, though! I almost never swim in pools because I hate cold water, but the pool was actually heated and was comfortable to swim in outside even on the cool November nights :) they also had a really nice hottub that had a little waterfall in it, super cute!

I stayed here for a few days to attend a class held at the hotel. The hotel provided breakfast and lunch each day, plus snacks. The food was good. I especially enjoyed the carrot cake. The staff was friendly and attentive. The location is convenient- a short distance from I-95, and close to downtown Portland. If you like running, walking or cycling I recommend the nearby South Poruland Greenbelt Trail. It's about 1.5 miles from the hotel.

This is a great place to stay on a trip. We love Best Westerns because they are always clean, always have great beds and linens, and of course the breakfast! This was just that. The staff was friendly and helpful and the property was clean and neat. Great stay.

We had a clean, cozy, and large room. Bed was very comfortable. Location was good and close to major attractions (e.g., the lighthouse). Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was reasonable.

I give this place five out of five thumbs up. Hotel did not have the normal hotel smell. It was clean without having the smells that other places have when using their cleaning supplies to keep the place clean. Artwork on the walls was local and very tastefully done. Pool area was kept clean. it was nice to have heated pool to swim outside while it was a cool October night. Although we had nice weather, I wonder about what would have happened if it were raining. I was lucky to have nice weather but an open pool during rain would have been a bummer or during winter.

This hotel was near an event my son and I were attending. It was convenient, clean, friendly, and a good price. It has an amazing pool that starts indoors and goes outdoors usable all year long. Breakfast was delicious. A few minor cosmetic updates needed but they had someone working on some of them.

Long walk to restaurant to room & elevator. Would have requested a room closer. Bartender would not allow me to eat my special diabetic snack at the bar before having a drink, The sea food chouder was outstanding.

Excellent: Check-In Excellent: Room Excellent: Breakfast Excellent: Swimming Pool My wife and I (from UK) were most impressed with all aspects of this Best Western. We are touring the area (Fall Foliage) and have sampled many different hotels – this has been the best, so far. Ally & Lindsey, on reception, were very cheery – even late into the evening – giving my wife & I lots of information AND complimentary cookies! They were clearly pleased to do so. The room (366) was ample size with a small dressing area and a second wash area! The furniture was good quality and the bed extra comfy with good covering. Microwave; fridge and coffee maker were standard provided equipment. Wi-Fi was a good signal and the TV had a good reception and many, many, channels. In the bathroom was a bath with shower over giving a strong flow. (NB. The room had a massage chair! Sounds good but I would prefer 2 x easy chairs – just my view). The bonus was a swimming pool – outside but well heated – and spa facilities. Breakfast was quite the best (by far) that we have found (in this area). A wide range of hot selections; lots of cereals and fresh fruit; Pastries…it goes on and on….and then speciality coffees! The waffle with strawberries and cream was unbelievable! A connected restaurant (Maine Table for lunch/dinner was most acceptable – please see my separate review). YES. TOP MARKS. EXCELLENT.

Stayed here in 2012 and choose to return in 2018. First class hotel, easy access from MHT, close to dinning in Portland with easy access. Easy access to Portland Headlight, Bug Light and downtown Portland. In 2012 breakfast was served buffet style in resturant now it is served in another area because the resturant has been leased out. Breakfast was fine - skipped scrambled eggs because of previous experience of the eggs at BW reminding me of 1968 powdered eggs served in Vietnam. We would stay here again.

We had a very negative experience at this hotel mainly due to it not being clean. This may be due to the predominantly Somalian cleaning staff- many who do not speak English and are learning on the job. Before entering the hotel I almost stepped on a huge dead rat in the parking lot (see photos). We were booked for three nights and I was already concerned about this hotel. While checking in I could not help but notice the brown crocodile embossed wallpaper behind the reception desk which was peeling off the wall; that was my first clue that maintenance was not a priority at this hotel. The reception desk had crocodile wall paper, but the rest of the hotel was decorated in a middle eastern decor with Persian- like carpet from the 1980's. The room we were assigned had really old dirty looking carpeting that was bunched up in areas. The furniture was mismatched and old with areas of decomposing particle board- almost like it was purchased from a used furniture store. There was one chair in the room that looked like it was airport surplus furniture. When we turned down our bed, the linens were gray, stained and thread bare. Every light switch was encrusted with filth, the walls were marred and the door knobs had the center parts missing. The walls had multiple swollen places that appeared to have water damage and the wallpaper was peeling. We had booked this hotel for three nights, but one night was one too many, so we cancelled the following nights and found a lovely hotel in Kennebunk. I would give this facility a D- rating and I would not recommend this hotel.

Excellent value for what you pay at this hotel.The people are great the hotel is very nice and very clean! Many of the rooms have been upgraded, and the rooms off of nice amenities.The breakfast service is actually extremely good for being included into the room!this is a great hotel for the money and very consistent in the service and quality they offer!when I travel to the Portland area, which is often, I never consider staying at another hotel.

My wife and I are touring the country on our Harley we've come up to Maine to see the Fall colors we try to stay at Best Western when there's one available in the area that we are at we found it they are the best consistent places to stay for us.

The hotel and staff was very accommodating very professional and very down to earth and gave many extras including coffee lemon water and cookies in the lobby.The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant had great food and very reasonable prices and fantastic service

This Best Western is located very close to the Maine Mall in South Portland. The staff was super helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The enclosed heated pool and hot tubs were wonderful for a late fall swim after shopping. This hotel offered the largest selection of breakfast foods I have seen at any included breakfast menu. Great value for money. Will stay here again if we go back to South Portland.

The outdoor heated pool and indoor hot tub with waterfall was the highlight of our stay! Close proximity and easy drive to city's attractions. Friendly employees and clean room. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed two nights. Very quiet, and very clean. Hot breakfast included. Left my purse behind at breakfast and it was delivered to the front desk, everything intact. Lovely conversation with a woman who has worked there for ages; all sorts of tips for what to see, where to eat and park. Heated outdoor pool was lovely! We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

We celebrated our 40th HS reunion. The accomodations were great. More importantly the reunion was fantastic. Great food and staff was so attentive. The pool and jacuzzi were great. Very clean facility.

This hotel was very disappointing. As we got out of our car we almost stepped on a huge and I do mean huge dead rat in the parking lot. The hotel seems to be in need of a total renovation and a deep cleaning. All the wallpaper in the hotel is peeling off the walls including the front desk. Our room had carpeting that was really dirty and the room was not being cleaned properly. The linens were gray and dingy and tattered with holes ( see photos) and the furniture is literally falling apart and is totally mismatched. Door hardware is missing on the doors and the light switches were filthy. This hotel is not being cleaned properly and is poorly maintained.

We were on vacation in Maine and stayed at 5 different hotels. This was the best one. We stayed in the Lodge Suite. It was so beautiful. The hotel is professionally run and they have a caring staff. The breakfast was great.

I would highly recommend this hotel. Loved the heated outdoor pool. Front desk staff were very friendly as well as the gals at breakfast. Breakfast was everything you needed from French toast to fruit and yogurt. It was just a few minute drive to all Portland has to offer. Will stay here again.

My room was clean and well-lit. Plenty of parking. My biggest issue was there were not enough outlets that were reachable. The furniture blocked some of the outlets and others may have been sealed off. The only open area was near the sink. So for one outlet, I had to use a hair dryer, iron, recharge my phone etc. Enjoyed the cookies that were served on Friday. The continental breakfast was mediocre. (Most of them are.) Still it's a nice benefit and eliminates the cost of one meal. They had apple pastries and I was wishing they offered cheese danish. They also had cereal, fruit, yogurt, and other standard fare. This property has shown some wear and tear. It could definitely use a makeover. Normally, I would have given this hotel a 3-star rating. However the friendliness and professionalism of the staff raised the rating by a star. They printed out several different routes I could take to get to Bar Harbor which I greatly appreciated. If you are staying in Portland or South Portland, ME, I would recommend this hotel.

Every time I visit Portland, ME I stay at the Best Western Merry Manor Inn. It's affordable, clean, refurbished and staff is very friendly. The restaurant next door, I cannot say too much about. I had some lobster bisque from there one night and it was like water. So, I would not recommend that place. fyi

I'm a truck driver, and my work puts the drivers up in this hotel. I don't have a choice in where I stay, but if I did- I'd still stay here. Great staff, clean nice rooms, great breakfast. I plan on staying here with my family in the future.

Stayed at the best western for two days. The rooms are large, bathroom with 2 sinks, a plus. No restaurants close by therefore it forces you either eat at their awful resturant or drive elsewhere. I ate at the resturant and no could cook a meal that was decent. How can you mess up shrimp scampi? Read a recipe book. The resturant mgr. removed it from the bill. Grill Brussels spouts again , how does one mess this up for7.00 usd? They did. The breakfast buffet is very good. The staff was efficient and helpful. I would return for the service and the bedroom. There is a swimming pool. Coffee and cookies served in the lobby.

We booked room for the first time via trip advisor for labour day weekend and got room on ground floor at the back of building that you entered via parking lot. Think of converting your garage into bedroom and no were close to pictures advertised. We were told that there is difference between rooms booked via BW and trip advisor. Room had musty smell and we could not stay in there. We requested manager to change our room but were told rooms are full. After couple hours of suffocation, we called trip advisor and they helped get us room in main building. Hotel manager told me that she did favor this time but will not be able to help on other occasions. According to her, It was Tripadvisor that should have displayed proper description of room. Not a good experience though Tripadvisor agent was helpful when i called.

Pros: Accommodations were comfortable, the room was quite large for hotel room. The complimentary self service buffet style breakfast was good, with large selection of foods: eggs, both omelet and scrambled, bacon and sausages, beans, fresh fruit, yogurts, make your own waffle station, variety of breads and cereals, selection of juices, as well as teas and coffees. Lobby welcoming with complimentary coffee and chocolate chip cookies! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Daily excellent housekeeping (thanks to young intern students, swimming pool, ATM, Fitness center, Free Wi-fi, free parking. Cons: Not very close to downtown Portland (6 Mile, 12 Mins away driving). Interior of hotel kind of labyrinth of hallways, There is a safe box in the rooms but in some rooms they are not fixed properly, easily could be taken out carried in a small bag!

Good basic room, clean, great breakfast. Older hotel but still in good shape. Great location if you want to go out on Cape Elizabeth to the beaches or lighthouses. I would stay here again if in the area.

We flew up to Portland so our kids could attend a wedding while we took care of our new granddaughter. We spent four nights at this hotel. The front desk staff was very nice. The entire hotel is stuck in the 1980's from its decor to the rooms. The room layouts were among the squirliest I have ever experienced. The bed was comfortable. There was a high end massage chair in the room which took up a lot of space - very nice touch but the money spent should have been put to room modifications! Our bathroom had a nasty smell beginning the second day. I reported it to he front desk who had maintenance come. They sprayed it with something that masked the odors for about 5 hours. I reported it again the next day and got the same action. By evening, the smells were bad enough that we closed the door to the bathroom. The hotel was apparently full as we were never given the option to move. When I checked out today and was asked how was our stay, I commented about the lack of true action on the smells. The checkout lady said "sorry about that". Not exactly the response I had hoped for or expected. We will NEVER stay in this place again - and the cost for four nights was over $800.00 for a lousy hotel.

The staff accommodated the group of 20 motorcycles, Sherry in the breakfast bar, and Misty the bartender were very helpful recommending places to see, and eat at. All staff at the front desk and the staff, no matter what they were working on were proud of the work they did. It showed every day. Each room was inspected for proper set up and cleanliness. Great location, fuel station right up front. The hot tub did need so work on the jets but the hot water water fall was fabulous on our sore shoulders and necks.

Outstanding service by staff; restaurant/bar service was awesome -- very attentive, outstanding service. they were in the middle of a renovation but kept it to a minimum as you didn't know it was going on.

Pros: large rooms, huuuge TV with a full selection of cable channels, mini fridge and microwave, white bed linens, I couldn't hear the adjacent rooms. Cons: AC unit did not cool the room - would run a couple of mins, make noise, shut off then repeat - woke me up but was too late to change rooms. Complimentary breakfast is varied but the space is way too cramped and old - and the overflow area upstairs is dirty , dark and smells bad. All I wanted was a good night's sleep and unfortunately the AC unit ruined that.

great hotel very clean roon excellant pool and spa area,centrally located to other resort towns. Easily located to the port in So Portland. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel in the future. In fact we are already making plans for a return trip.

We have stayed at the Merry Manor a few times now and we love it. The pool is so warm that we all enjoy it and have a great time as a family. The hot tub too is something we enjoy. The beds and pillows are comfortable and the rooms are newly remodeled and very clean. The staff here is extremely outgoing, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This is a great place to stay if you are looking to be close to Portland. Our room had been recently updated, the pool and spa pool set up is unique, breakfast was very good as was the adjacent restaurant.

We were welcomed, and dealt with real professionals here, minor problems were corrected quickly, and we truly enjoyed our stay. The front desk went out of there way to help us navigate the area, and our room was fresh and clean.

We were on a bus trip.thank goodness we were here for only one night. The staff was friendly. When we arrived the had put out cookies, coffee & juice for our arrival. The rooms were outdated. There was a no smoking sign posted throughout the building. Our room smelled faintly of smoke, not sure where it had come from. We were only there for one night. The bathroom had a weird setup. It had a sink on the outside and another small room that held a toilet, tub/shower, and sink. The room with the tub/shower, the tiles on the ceiling were different, the trim around the floor was falling off. In the morning they didn't have enough of room for us to sit and eat. They were trying to cram 2 or 3 bus groups together to have breakfast. On the breakfast in the morning was eggs, sausage, coffee, juices, blueberry coffee cake which was the best thing on the menu. When the coffee cake ran out it was replaced with blueberry muffins which were very dry. The breakfast itself was cold and not even lukewarm.

very basic and very good motel. the room was clean and comfortable. the staff was nice. the location is good. ok breakfast, I wish there was kosher/vegan options. (not all of us eat meat at 7am) overall good experience.

We came to Williams park in Cape elizabeth. Stayed at this motel for 1 night and enjoyed our stay.it was quite and pleasant surrounded with flowers. It serves also breakfast. The price was reasonable.

Regular BW hotel with the known facilities like free breakfast ( I love the waffle machine ) . Very friendly staff at reception and at breakfast. Clean and large rooms. Location is ideal, gas station and entry to Interstate are next door. Only the AC was really loud.

We always find the Merry Manor a great place to stay. They have updated their rooms and the pool area is terrific. We really enjoy their breakfast with the many choices including those with food allergies. Great value.

This was my 2nd time visit to this hotel, a little disappointing. After a long day of driving, 4.5 hrs we finally got there, it's usually a 2.5 hr ride. I was looking forward to swimming in the wonderful pool and relaxing in the hot tub. The hot tub wasn't working. ?? My husband went to get some ice and the ice machine was broken. There was an ice machine on the 3rd floor though. The air conditioner made so much noise we had to turn it off. Then it was so warm it was difficult to sleep. I will stay here again , hope the things that weren't working get fixed.

This hotel is a gem. Stayed 2 nights while visiting Maine, and could not have been happier. Extremely nice restaurant and bar on the premises. Very nice and private pool and hot tub area. Wonderful full breakfast buffet. Staff were great. We could find no fault with this hotel. Excellent!
