    « Stayed before the wedding ?? »

The hotel was lovely. I would have requested an upstairs room had I known they had a balcony with a table and chairs. I was told there is no elevator so I requested downstairs. Our only problem was the bathroom. The toilet made a terrible noise when you flushed it, the heat light flickered as it seemed to be going out and the wall paper was peeling and moldy around the shower/tub. On a plus, the breakfast was great with a good selection.

    « Nice stay »

A good location and a clean and comfortable room. Very good service. we had a very good breakfast. There are plenty of items to select from to start your day. It is very close to the Ronald Regan library.

« Pleasant stay for a business meeting »

I stayed at this BW for a one day business meeting in Simi Valley. The hotel meet my criteria for a pleasant stay: comfortable bed, working TV and Internet, quiet room, decent breakfast, convenient to highway and travel needs (strip mall shopping and eateries), and fair price (AAA rate, ISTR). Nice landscaping was a small plus, 2 floors w/o elevator was a small minus. Also convenient to the Reagan Library, for those who would like to recall a time of more civil politics, even for a Democrat. I'd stay there again.

    « Remodeled and comfortable »

Classic Spanish style merges with modern appointments. The hotel is clearly old but feels up to date with its fashionable interiors, fresh paint, and new carpet. The rooms surrounding the inner courtyard and pool may be noisy at times. Inside my room the bathroom needed some work. The bath mat was peeling away from the floor of the bathtub and there was botched paint on the bathroom wall behind the door. But you can tell that efforts were made to make this lovable hotel current again. Overall it was a comfortable and restful room with ample plug ins and space. The breakfast was better than average with their free omelets and a wide selection of breads and drinks. I recommend this place and hope they keep up on the remodel and keep it nice.

« Good value, excellent breakfast selection »

We stayed one night after visiting the Ronald Reagan Library. The hotel is in a nice location just down the hill from the library. It's just blocks away from a plaza that has restaurants and grocery stores. I love hotels that offer breakfast inlcuded! This Best Western offered a wide selection of breakfast items including hot eggs and omelets made to order. They had almond milk, which I really appreciated. I saw that they had bagels, toast, pastries, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, hot potatoes, juice and coffee of course. Their coffee was extremely good by the way! The only down side to the stay was the A/C was kind of loud. Other than that, our stay was very nice.

« Problems encountered with this hotel »

I was billed for 2 rooms instead of 1 Rooms were not cleaned until 4:30 or later, some not at all. Denied use of lobby conversation area to share wine with our friends. Noisy at night from hotel guests or partiers.

« Good place to stay for business »

I'm a best western member and I keep coming to this hotel at simi valley madera road. Hotel location is perfec and staff are helpful. Room is clean and fully equip. In room cable tv and internet work well. Bfast is good and friendly staff. On this trip I will be there and other best western hotels for 10 nights.

« Excellent and Friendly staff. »

Manager offered upgrade to elite status member upon request. This service is why we continue membership in BW rewards program. Hotel clean, suites are excellent, and breakfast handled beautifully. Express checkout with statement slipped under room door would be nice addition.

« Very good hotel. Not far from Reagan Library »

This is a very good Best Western. Room was very comfortable. Pillows numerous but very small. I don't like that. Amenities good. Be Aware there is no elevator. At peak seasons, this may need to be arranged ahead of time. I got the impression at check in a problem with stair climbing would be accommodated readily. Service and staff very friendly and helpful. First class experience with them all-around. Excellent breakfast with great variety and quality.

    « Very Nice »

Fit the bill perfectly. We were in Simi Valley to visit the Ronald Reagan Library and this hotel in just 5 minutes away! The check-in staff was terrific in pointing out other areas to visit (as well as the Library) and dining choices. The room was nice and quiet. Our breakfast experience was wonderful.....eggs to order, hot cereal, pastries, b-fast meats, potatoes, waffles, juice, coffee etc. The waite and kitchen staff kept the dining room and 'buffet' spotless. We'll stay there again as it was such a pleasant experience.

« Nice Staff but Rundown Hotel »

The staff was very nice; however the grounds and room we stayed in were in poor condition. The room had been recently renovated but the quality of the work was terrible. The paint on the tub/shower liner was peeling, crumbling drywall had just been painted over, plaint splatters and smears were everywhere. On the grounds the stair railings were rusted, stairs cracked, dying landscape.

    5
    « Wonderful Experience »

I usually book reservations at Marriott or Hilton hotels, but decided to give the Best Western a try based on images and ratings. I am so happy with my decision that I plan on booking Best Western hotels for my upcoming travels. The staff was friendly, helpful and highly professional. The rooms are well appointed, clean and the bed is very comfortable. My room included a balcony with seating overlooking the pool and courtyard which was a pleasant addition. To my surprise, breakfast included a wide range of items, including made to order omelets. I highly recommend this establishment.

    « Good »

Stayed two nights. Rooms are pretty good sized. Breakfast was good. Nice location close to Reagan library. There is a Walmart a few blocks away close to the freeway. A few negatives. Construction workers stay here so on the night we wanted to use the hot tub it have five guys drinking beer in the tub. Not somewhere you want to take the wife and kids. This is a nonsmoking hotel which just had the smokers going out to the corners of the building and sitting on the step and smoking of course we had a corner room. I would suggest getting a room near the front of the building since all the construction workers stay near the back. It is a nice hotel just a few negatives

    3
« Very good remodel; some staff need work »

A very nice motel with a very good recent remodeling. Best location for going to the Reagan Library down the road. It is an older facility with no apparent elevator. We were surprised by a lack of water in the shower one morning; contacted the night manager and had no assistance, only a blank look and a long pause. Otherwise, staff were fine. Nice covered patio with lights. Evening wine, snacks are not included, but sold. Breakfast was excellent with custom omelets and good food.

    « ronald reagan library »

this is a very nice hotel convient to ronald reagn library. Excellent free breakfast with a wide rarnge of choices and a omelet bar. Few choices for hotels in simi valley and this is probably the best price. I have stayed at this hotel on 4-5 occasions and my request for a quiet room has always been provided. I just wish all hotel/motels could provide some variety in pillows(soft/stiff).

    5
« Great stop after six flags »

Only about 30 minutes from six flags magic mountain, this is an easy off the freeway, quiet property that was perfect for our stay. Simi Valley also had the Reagan library. We also loved the hot tub and pool.

« Weekend in Simi Valley »

Hacienda style hotel in Simi Valley. Hotel has been updated and now is a great place to stay. Front desk staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. Had cocktails and appetizers in the hotel bar lounge- everything thing was excellent. The bar lounge is only open on weekdays which was the only downside. The breakfast Buffet was also excellent with made to order eggs and omelettes. The room was clean and very quiet. Bathroom was small with not very much counter space but other than that the room was great. We did have a king suite and it was very nice to have a separate bedroom- the price for the suite was less than other regular king rooms in the area. Hotel is close to restaurants and shopping areas.

    4
« Close to the Ronald Regan Library »

The front desk people were excellent. Very helpful and friendly. Followed up on our issue with the heating system. This hotel is very close to the Ronald Regan Library which is why we chose it. It is undergoing some renovations. It has a full bar and restaurant in the hotel. After standing and walking for 3 or 4 hours it was nice to not have to get in the car and find dinner. Dinner was excellent. I ordered salmon and it was a HUGE piece of fish, done to my exact wishes. The veggies might have been a little under cooked for some, but I like my veggies crunchy. Really a surprise for a hotel restaurant. I have two concerns about this hotel. One: the bathtub, while huge, has a step up and then step down into the tub. There were no grab bars on the walls and I felt it would be very easy to fall in this set up. Please, add grab bars or get a regular tub. My second issue with our stay was the very loud heating system. I would suggest staying here when you do not need heat, air conditioning or sleep! I hope with the renovations they will be fixing the heating system. At first, we had no heat, but the maintenance people fixed that immediately. All and all I would recommend staying here - except for the heating system. I would stay here again, but not when heat is needed.

« Simi Valley Best Western »

First the hotel staff was great. Very friendly and helpful and they have an amazing breakfast. The downside was no elevator which is a pain taking up and down your luggage. Also very dark parking lot. We had a room towards the back of the hotel and it was a little scary at night. They had a couple of trucks with campers on them that appeared to have people living it them. Didn't make you feel very safe. I had to call the front desk for a new coffee maker, the one on the room had pink mold when I went to add the water. The A/C unit was noise.

    5
    « Great visit »

The staff is the best ... Ana , Valerie and the morning crew super.Alivecar our bartender as a gem!! The room was spacious and very nice ... Pool was relaxing... would stay here again if in the area.also it's the closest to the Reagan Library good location!!

    « Simi Valley »

Nice staff & facilities. Lovely courtyard. Total redo, recently. Nice decor choices. Good TV & channel choices. Lamps had easily accessible chargers. Would definitely stay again, when in Simi Valley area.

« Quality and Convenience in Simi Valley »

This hotel is very conveniently located for access to both Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly, and the hot breakfasts excellent! Look forward to staying here again. Only downsides are lack of an elevator and no room safe.

    4
« Beautiful property! Yummy breakfast! »

We love the property and the fresh-made omlettes and the welcoming and attentive staff. Beware of the new sharp corner box base that protrudes out from the mattress. We scraped our lower legs and almost gouged our feet in the small space under the sharp corners. Not enough counter space in the room.

« Good hotel accomadations at Simi Valley »

Excellent staff servicing Best Western Posada Royale Hotel in Simi Valley. Outside is maintained well and the room we had was spacious, clean, heating/AC and all appliances working properly, queen beds were very comfortable. I'll probably stay at the Posada Royale when I visit my family again.

    5
« Comforting Place to stay in Simi »

There are very few hotels in Simi Valley, which is strange. We were there on family emergency for a number of days. The staff was professional, caring, accomodating and cheerful. This hotel is updated, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is fantastic, cooked to order eggs and a great breakfast bar in a lovely room. It's so much better than the breakfast bars where you push the button for two pancakes!!! We had two rooms, a two queen and a king suite with jacuzzi. The spa tub was fantastic and the shower WAS THE BEST EVER! The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. No elevators, but only two floors. The property is landscaped well and has a beautiful courtyard, pool area. I slept and ate well, felt safe and had a nice stay. We will be back for sure.

    5
    « Awesome service!! »

The staff went above and beyond the call of duty. The hotel was beautiful and had everything you could ask for. The breakfast had many options to choose from. All together it was a great stay. Im excited to go back again!

    5
« I was impressed, this is a classy hotel! »

There were quite a bit of things I noticed that I was impressed by. The rates were very fair. The appearance and parking space are quite favorable. I really liked the fact that there was a delicious buffet right next door. I appreciated the fact that they had a fitness center with those 50 lbs dumbbells. Breakfast was delicious. Room was nice and clean.Customer services was A+++

    5
    « Excellent Stay »

This Beautifull hotel is a Great Place to Stay. The staff are very helpfull and Polite. The breafast is the best,i have ever received in a hotel. I would highly recomend this hotel as it is in a safe quieit community

    « Pleasant and reliable »

We stay at this hotel whenever we visit Simi Valley and it has always been reliably pleasant. They provide a good breakfast and the staff is hard working and friendly. Rooms are comfortable, though they could use a bit of a facelift. We always enjoy staying here.

    3
« A hotel with great service and clean rooms. I would Definitely recommend it. »

A great hotel with great staff. As soon as I enter the hotel, staff was friendly and courteous. I guess room were recently renovated because they looked awesome. Breakfast was included and staff was helpful to accommodate 9 adults and four toddlers. On check out, staff was friendly as well. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

    « NOISY »

The air conditioning system was so noisy at night that we had to transfer rooms. Even the room they sent us to had noisy air conditioning ventilation process. And someone was slamming doors between one and four in the morning. Never slept a wink !!!!

    5
    « Great Included Breakfast »

The Best Western Posada Royale Hotel was efficient at booking and offered a fair corporate rate. The staff was friendly and efficient. The room was clean. The included breakfast was superb. The hotel hosted many of the corporate guests for a company I used to run nearby. They also did a fine job hosting us on various occasions for business meetings.

    5
    « Nice Property »

We stayed here while visitong family. Conveniently located the proprty had comfortable rooms and great staff. The bed was a little hard for my tastes but not so much that I lost sleep. The sofa in the room was a nice bonus.

    3
    « Family gathering »

We had a celebration of life for our dad we had many family members attend the facility was clean rooms were nice front counter seemed confused on how to solve a credit card problem host bar did not post pricing and were charging different prices for same drink overall an ok stay

« Best kept secret in Southern California »

If you're looking for a clean and well appointed room with great amenities,an excellent atmosphere and at a fair price, the Posada Royale IS your destination of choice. The staff is friendly, the decorum is welcoming and the breakfast is fresh and tasty; a great way to start off your day! The hotel is beautiful, and best of all, we feel it is in a safe and inviting area. My family and I have stayed here many times over the years and it truly feels like our home away from home. We are looking forward to our next stay at this location.

    3
« Very reasonable but ask questions »

We stayed here on our way to go see Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. They gave us a handicapped room and room itself was nice but bathroom the shower head was really low which made it difficult for two tall guys. Nice rooms. Very basic. Also it included free complimentary breakfast which the girl told me when we checked in and put coupons in envelope. I didn't think about looking at them. They only serve till 9am. We got there at 9:20 we were taking our time since we can't see Library till 10. So we told the front desk and she said we always tell the guest at check in. I understand people make mistakes but she didn't even act sorry or they could have not told us. (?We always tell everyone?). But I informed her that the girl from the night before never said anything and I didn't take coupons out of envelope to look. I have never stayed anywhere they stop serving before 10 You can go to a fast food restaurant till 10-11 and get breakfast. Also there was so pounding all night so rooms don't seem to be very insulated. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't stay here again So make sure you check double heck and ask lots of questions you can't expect the staff to give you all the answers you need.

    3
    « No working water »

The water was turned off for hours without any notice. Toilet, sink, shower, nothing. Tv remote doesn't have a guide or anything, makes it a little hard to find channels. Internet is ok and the breakfast isn't bad but limited

    5
    « Very charming - »

We selected this location due to its proximity to the Ronald Reagan Library. The hotel is lovely inside and out, and extremely clean. They serve a great wine (several selections) and cheese reception in the evening, as well as a nice breakfast with an omelette station. Terrific value and extremely professional and friendly staff.

    4
« Nice place to stay in Simi »

We stayed several nights and it was clean and quiet. No problem sleeping. It was pretty full the whole stay but not a party place. The breakfast is OK, we only used it once. Reasonable priced lodging for the area, and it's a good location, near 118 freeway but no traffic noise at night.

    4
    « Comfortable and a great breakfast »

We have not been to a Best Western for quite some time. We opted for this one because of reviews and it is about three miles to the Reagan Library which was the purpose of our visit to see the Titanic exhibit before it closes in January. My husband liked the hotel and it was quite large. We were able to get a floor-level room which we wanted and it faced the inner courtyard with pool which was pleasant and quiet. The bathroom is quite compact, but there is a stand outside across from the closet that has a coffee pot that we put our toiletries on which was convenient. The breakfast was one of the nicest complimentary ones that we have seen in a hotel. I enjoyed the egg white omelette with ham and cheese that was cooked and brought to our table and appreciate the watermelon slices included in fruit choices. There were several staff members to handle the breakfast area. Internet was fast for work. The lamp at the table plug did not work so I had to replug it into another plug on another wall (it just stretched to reach and was still out of the way); I told the front desk but the next day housekeeping had plugged it back into the plug that did not work so I had to crawl under the desk to string it across the carpet to the other plug again :-) The beds do have sharp corners and I caught my leg on one even though I was aware this could be a hazard. When we were leaving I realized the TV channel guide was in the bedside drawer so future guests reading this review know where to find it! One evening I went to the front lobby where they have wine, cheese/crackers/grapes which was a nice snack to relax for guests.

    « Excellent, clean room »

Very professional staff on hand. Rooms were renovated and very comfortable. Extremely good service. When problems with a leaky faucet were reported they were handled immediately. The staff were very helpful with questions and greeted us warmly.

    5
« A "Must" if you are in the area! »

Stayed there after 3 nights in a Best Western that did not deserve the "Plus" designation. We have stayed here before which was a good experience, but they remodeled and it is now outstanding. Our room was upgraded due to our membership and it was a delight spending 2 nights there. Hope we can arrange trips to include this property!

« BEST WESTERN POSADA SIMI VALLEY »

Excellent rooms, service and amenities. Knowledgeable ,pleasant ,and helpful staff. An excellent value! Location for touring is excellent and access is easy. One of the Better Best Western Facilities.

    4
    « A nice mid-range property »

The Best Western Posada Royale is a decent choice for the area. It is typical of the motel arrangement with a pool and hot tub in the central courtyard. It is located not far off the freeway with a variety of restaurants nearby if you have a vehicle. It is only a few miles from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library if you are planning to visit. The breakfast is nice, with made to order omelets, and the staff are very helpful.

    5
    « Excellent Stay! »

This the best hotel I've ever stayed in. From check in to check out was nothing but enjoyable. The renovation made the hotel transform to another level. The room was very spacious and business friendly. Love the LED mirror in the bathroom. The staff was more than helpful and made my stay that much more enjoyable. The delicious free breakfast and omelette made-to-order made me full for all day. Also loved the wine reception! The moment I drove into the the hotel it made me feel at home. This hotel is home away and will be returned!

« Best Western Simi Valley »

Great location, the breakfast was outstanding, so many choices, and delicious! The staff was friendly and helpful, the front desk clerk was very accommodating with our late check-out request. The room very spacious, and the bed comfortable. We have stayed here before and will stay again.

« Incredible location and staff »

Courtney and the staff are second to none. They always go above and beyond for me . The room renovations and facilities like the pool area and gym are impressive and I always have a great stay at this hotel.

    « My experience »

Everything was well organized, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The room was simple but cozy, bed and pillows were comfortable, and the room was very clean when I arrived.

    5
« Visiting the Presidential Library »

This hotel is the stay of choice when visiting the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. It's location is perfect for a visit and I enjoy the 3 mile hike from the hotel to the library when I choose to wake up early to do so. It has a variety of eating options nearby. I also enjoy their omelette breakfast bar in the morning. A refreshing change from the usual continental breakfast offered at other establishments.

    1
    « Extremely noisy room »

Booked this through Hotwire being a Best Western all good. It was not until we got settled for the night for sleep that the noise level came. We were located on the bottom floor, which was fine as I have bad knees and we had lots of luggage. People walking around above us was thump, thump, and when they used the toilet it was extremely noisy. So was their shower. We woke early due to all of the above issues with noise and when we went to have a shower we could not get the water to stop pouring out of the Fawcett and only a light spray frim the shower head. The bed was comfortable although the bed base sticks out so your line of sight is where the mattress is, I bumped my leg very hard and managed to do it again on the other side, the photo's attached will show what I mean! I went to the front desk to see if we could get a partial refund, the Manager on duty Anna was coughing, I stood back and gestured thst she should cover her mouth. I showed her a video I took of the shower she saud you didn't turn it on properly, I said I did and knew how we have been traveling for 8 weeks so have plenty of experience. She said we should have asked to change rooms, well how were we to know that the shower was not going to work the night before. A few other repairs need to be done on this room. The breakfast was very good. But sleep quality was af it worst. Power point is just about unexcessable in the bathroom.

« Best Western Stay in Semi Valley, CA »

Great hotel, excellent friendly staff, big nice room. We enjoyed our staff very much. Our stay included two nights and we were able to enjoy an evening with wine and cheese. We also had two very nice breakfasts. We went to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and really looked forward to coming back to our room after a very exhausting day. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend this hotel to everyone.

    5
« Why would you stay anywhere else? »

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms clean and very modern looking. The staff is incredible and go out of their way to accommodate every guest. Breakfast is made to order omlets, scrambled eggs, waffles, pastries, cereals and yogurts. There is a wine and cheese hour that is complimentary. A microwave and refrigerator in all the rooms. Oh,and very pet friendly! For 20 more than Motel 6,why would you go anywhere else?

    « BW Posada »

We stayed here in October when we went on vacation to the LA area. We picked this hotel, even though it was an hour to most of the attractions, because of the price. We hit the jackpot. It is a gem. Free parking, free breakfast, the rooms are huge and recently remodeled, no issues with the internet - four of us on different devices at one time. Plenty of places to eat within a five minute ride, and easy access to the freeway. We will be back if we visit LA again!

    5
« Great place to stay! »

We stayed here two nights while in town to visit the Ronald Reagan Museum and the hotel was great! Extremely comfortable beds, well maintained rooms and great breakfast each morning which was included in price of hotel. We would definitely stay at this hotel again!

    5
    « The Best! »

We were on a 12-night road trip from Vancouver, Canada to San Diego, CA and we stayed in several hotels and this hotel is by far the BEST one. The room and bathroom were spotless clean, the room was huge with 2 queen beds. The hot breakfast was the best with made-to-order eggs, sausages, hash browns.... and the whole nine yards! The hot tub was certainly a plus... it was a great relaxation after 7 or 8 hours of driving... First class management and staff! I would highly recommend anyone to go there. Thank you to The Best Western Posada Royale.

    5
« BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO STAY »

Excellent morning breakfast. The hotel had a wine and cheese welcome the evening I was staying. Comfortable room with a convenient work center. The hotel grounds were were very beautifully maintained. The staff did an excellent job during my stay.

    2
    « Very loud A/C »

We had an outside room #270 (not in a corridor), and the A/C was so very loud....too loud to leave on, so used the *auto* setting and it came on about once an hour, which woke us up each time. Needless to say, we did not get a good nights rest. The do not have fans to borrow. The hotel is fairly nice, newer furnishings, but you can tell it is an older room. The breakfast was very good, omelettes to order was very nice. Location is very close to the Ronald Reagan Library. I would check the room and the AC before staying there. Don't know if it is just this hotel with older AC units, or all Best Westerns are that way. This is our first time staying at this chain in many years.

    3
    « Clean Hotel »

We stayed here when we were in town for a sports tournament. It is clean and sufficient -- hence the 3 star (average) review. It is pretty much what you would expect for a Best Western. The pool is very small. The free breakfast is fine considering it is free.

    4
« Enjoyable one night stay »

Up to date decor and furnishings with spacious room and balcony overlooking garden and pool area. Complimentary wine and snacks early evening. Breakfast was very good. Good selection of items both hot and cold and custom-made omelettes also available at no extra charge. They do close on time so if on vacation you need to make sure you don't miss out. Pool area was very nice as set in gardens and pool was an acceptable temperature. Chinese Buffet restaurant next door where we ate in the evening, which was good value and reasonable quality of food. Did not see much else close by.

Room252 was very large with a completely private balcony over looking Simi Vlly. Very Nice. Also had full size refrigerator. Good light through slider dr. and big windows. Staff all nice and helpful. Flooring was both carpet and tile. From Idaho so I enjoyed the various green shrubbery and palm trees seen from the windows and balcony.

    « Definitely the Best! »

I can see why they are rated as #! hotel in Simi Valley . . . service was awesome starting with check-in . . . very quick and efficient. Rooms good size, very clean and GREAT beds. Finished off with an excellent breakfast. High recommend this facility to any one passing through Simi Valley. Was very surprised with the price . . . we have spent more than twice the cost and received less than half the value that we received from BW . . . kudos to hotel stall . . . you got it goin on!

    « Exceptional Service »

Quality customer service, clean rooms and a better breakfast than you can get at many restaurants even though there is no charge with your stay at Best Western. My only complaint was that I had to retype the hotel password every time I used the internet on my IPAD, but that is such a minor thing compared to the overall comfort and quality of our stay.

Perfectly located in a secure and well lit location of Madera within 2 miles of the Reagan Library and offers a full breakfast including a Monday thru Thursday FREE WINE AND CHEESE. It's THE place to stay located close and convenient to a variety of offerings

« Best of the Best Western »

I am a return customer and have stayed various Best Western or Best Western Plus for the past two years whenever I traveled because I am a rewards club member and doing so comes with rewards. Posada Royale has the best staffs and services. It is conveniently located. The hot breakfast buffet are freshly prepared and the dining tables are draped with pressed clean clothes. Even better, it has designated staff makes fresh omelet on request. All the staffs are friendly and helpful. Specifically, one young man, Kyle, went out his way to help me fix a frozen monitor screen in the business center. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here whenever I visit Simi Valley or nearby cities.

The rooms were very nicely decorated, comfortable, secure and fairly priced. Excellent Front Desk ! Excellent choices for food within a reasonable distance from the hotel. I highly recommend Posada Royale for Business or Personal trips.

« On of the best Best Western Hotels »

A nice place to stay. Great breakfasts beds and location. There are no elevators to the second floor. Although the staff offered to carry the luggage up, the stairs were difficult for an older person who prefers to stay on the second floor.

    « Good Choice »

I have stayed here a few times before, over the years, and the product has been consistent for the most part. I enjoy this place as it is relaxing, comfortable, cozy and never feels overcrowded. And, has a nice breakfast available. The location is great and has easy access to a variety of places to drive. Looking forward to coming back again....

« Don't want to give secret away »

I don't want people to know how nice this hotel is, so it is always available when i need a room. If I'm working within an hour of this hotel i will drive to stay there. There is everything you need close to hotel.

    « Beautiful Setting & Quiet »

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and were very pleased with the room and the cleanliness of the grounds. The service here was great and all of the staff we encountered were very helpful and cheerful. I liked that it was very quiet at night, there were no slamming doors or loud voices, thanks to the 10pm-7am quiet time.

« Great value, service, and quality. »

Great value when staying in Simi Valley during the course of the week, weekend rates are quite a bit more expensive. Newly remodeled rooms are very nice, one of the best internet connections that I've had out of many Best Westerns. The hotel staff is top notch. Highly recommend.

« Great service, cleanliness and continuous maid service. »

Excellent service friendly staff the free wine in the lobby nightly was nice, continuous maid service excellent, free breakfast was a good selection, available laundry was a nice perk. I recommend this hotel to anyone needing a long term stay as well.

    « BW Simi Valley »

Excellent Property...except for the lack of an elevator to the 2nd Floor. Hotel Staff helped with the heavy bags but if that one gentleman was not available we'd have to carry those bags ourselves...and I ain't as young as I used to be.

« Good value; good place to stay; quiet »

Great staff. Comfortable beds. Clean. Good breakfast. Only two levels and there is no elevator so if you have heavy luggage or lots of luggage first floor is best. Quiet. Our cooling unit in window did not work. They were able to provide same room across hall that had different cooling system more like central air which worked great.

« Good place to stay in Simi Valley »

Very good place to stay in Simi Valley. The breakfast is better than other Best Western's. There are all type of restaurants close by. One minor thing needs to improve is the pillows, they are too small. They are about half size of the king size pillow and I stayed in a king size room.

    4
« Great place to stay but watch out as they take funds out prior to you leaving! »

I stayed here before and al was fine and that's why I returned. This time the manager was Not great with issue I had but rest if staff was great. Room was very clean and I returned each evening to a cleaned room. Breakfast was good, and better than most hotels but not the help in there. They've changed hands apparently the past year... perhaps not for the better. Get a new manager!

Rooms where decorated nicely but showers dripped and were worn the doors and jams and walls were messed up. Presentation was good but when you looked at the details they were not fixed. Curtains had holes also.

    « Great Service »

The entire staff was very courteous and helpful, had a wonderful time. The accommodations were good, no complaints. The hotel was close to the Reagan Presidential Library which was a great destination.

    « Extremely Pleasant Experience »

This hotel is well kept and clean, in a very nice area, and easy to find. It is especially convenient to the Reagan Presidential Museum. It has an exceptional breakfast and breakfast room is very spacious. The only possible drawback is no elevator to the second floor if you have mobility issues.

    5
    « Last minute stay »

For a last minute stay for a baseball tournament this place was perfect! The room was clean and spacious for the 3 of us. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We did not have time to use the pool or take part in breakfast but it looked good.

    3
« OK but not great! »

An OK budget class of hotel. This was more like a motel rather than a hotel given the construction, design and layout. There are no elevators here...so please bear that in mind. People out on the landings talking at 3am and outside noise travels as you know. The AC unit was noisy too. That aside..we had a one stay on a 2nd floor room that was pretty spacious, It was pretty clean and tidy with large comfortable beds providing a decent nights sleep (& I am quite particular about those things in all hotels) The breakfast that was included was typically standard, although there was plenty choice of hot and cold food on offer. It was pretty good. Ample free parking. Reagan Library Museum was a 5/10 min drive away...I am not really one for a Libraries and Museums BUT that place place is amazing! Spent 3 hours in there for a $29 entry fee. Overall, it was OK for the money. Not sure if I would stay again.

    « Pure Class! »

Unfortunately we only stayed one night in this beautiful hotel. The breakfast they serve is probably the best of any hotel we have ever stayed in and we've stayed in many. The room was bright and beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely stay there again next time we are in the area!

    2
    « Cheap »

Just a cheap business hotel along the way. Room was so so, towels smelled funky, sheets had stains, shower was nasty. Literally stayed here 2 nights. First night was much better, then the 2nd night I had to get a different room, which was much worse. Overall the rooms are not the same level of cleanliness thats for sure.

Hotel was super clean and quiet. In the middle of all things you would need and easy to find and get to! The food was very good and the staff was super friendly and easy going. Close to everything; breakfast is superb. Jacuzzi and pool. Ronald Reagan Library right next door. Great if you have children. Clean (1st priority) A/c's a little noisy but working well. Great medium-priced place to stay.

    « Great service/renovation meh?! »

We were there for a family wedding and stayed 3 nights, The hotel was conveniently located, offered free parking and a wonderful included hot breakfast. Having been completely renovated, I was disappointed with the room as it was sloppily done. Paint on the curtains, missing drywall under the sink, glazing coming off the tub surround. The pool area was wonderful and all staff were very pleasant and helpful. On the last day of our stay the man who prepares the omelets outside the dining room had his tip jar stolen! Someone ran through the courtyard from the parking lot and snatched it off the counter. PLEASE change this jar to something that can be attached to the counter top. This man worked so hard and it was sad to see this happen.

« Everything you could possibly need »

Large modern rooms, great breakfast included in the price of the room, huge selection of tv channels, decent size pool and easy access to most places in Simi Valley. The only let down was housekeeping staff who come to service the room at 8.30/9am or not at all. Not ideal if you are a late riser or staying a few nights and need fresh towels/toilet paper.

    5
    « Newly renovated hotel »

I have stayed at the Posada dozens of times over the years. The new rooms and overall hotel renovation is fantastic. Its a quiet hotel close to the Reagan Presidential Library.Great breakfast, also. The wine and cheese in the evening is also nice.

« Friendly staff and clean hotel »

Accommodations were very clean and well kept. The bed was comfortable and the staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. They don't have a snack bar, only a snack vending machine but there's a Target very close by for bottled waters and snacks, as most rooms have a microwave and refrigerator.

    « Very impressed! »

A very welcoming hotel. Entire facility clean. Thoughtful rest benches scattered thrroughout the grounds. Very nice central courtyard, with outdoor dining for the breakfast room. All upstairs rooms have a real balcony. Real means room for a couple of chairs, and a teble. Rooms very nice. There is some thoughtful design work here, they are not the usual hotel box room. Built in work area, with easily reachable electric outlets that are not already full of plugs, and are not behind furniture. Overhead (high in the wall) skylight that was a nice touch, and appreciated. Room was quiet, and away from freeways, but easy to find and reach. Showers have the wide rods, meaning more room in the shower. Two large screen TV's that both worked fine, as did their remotes. (Seems like often one doesn't in other hotels) Breakfast was good, and well staffed. I think they had two cooks, for a buffet style breakfast. Lots of food choices. Enough toasters. Only one suggestion here, they should have, I think, a couple of real coffee makers on the table. They use a pot that cools to quickly. A minor issue.

    « Great Value »

Our overall stay for 6 nights was good. Beds are a little small but the pool area made up for it. The continental breakfast was good. Overall we would stay here again. There was a wedding rehearsal dinner one night and the family was next to us and were very loud till 1:30, and another night the room next door had a dog and it barked really early in the morning and woke us all up other than that is was a good value for Simi Valley.

« Best Western, the best! »

The Simi Valley Best Western was an excellent travel experience. The staff, rooms, and breakfast were all way above what we have come to expect from lesser establishments. We definitely recommend Best Western to everyone.

« Best Western Posada Royale Simi Valley »

Very surprised at how lovely this hotel was. One of the best Best Western's we have stayed at. The lobby was lovely, the pool area was clean and well attended. The breakfast was terrific and the tables were set up with linens around the pool which made it especially nice. The breakfast bar had a nice selection and an omelet bar was set up outside near the pool as well. Our rooms were very very nice as well. We would definitely come back as our children live in the area.

    « Nice, comfortable rooms »

It is always concerning when you book a hotel through a 3rd party travel site and don't know exactly what area of town you should avoid what the hotel you get will be like and thus, even when I knew what hotel it was and had read some of the reviews on other site (mostly positive), I was still weary of the neighborhood. However, once we arrived as a family, I was relieved to see that the neighborhood was quiet and nicer. Walking in you are greeted by an upscale looking lobby and friendly staff. The hotel appeared to have been recently renovated and updated in many areas. Though the room I had was nothing special (it was a little dated in the a/c unit and carpet), it meet my needs for an inexpensive place to stay for the night that was clean and comfortable. The beds were a little hard and the pillows a little soft for my liking, but the family and I slept well. The room looked like the housekeepers had actually cleaned it as opposed to the alternative. The breakfast is a simple continental breakfast, but serves the purpose. Certainly would recommend staying here!

« Best Western Simi Valley »

Just so-so for two nights in Simi Valley. We stayed with family on a trip to visit the Reagan Library. (The hotel is close to the Reagan Library.) Electronic key door opener didn't work properly. This hotel is advertising remodeled rooms. Hmmm? Our room had a quick remodel....not quality work. Patched/unpainted holes on the wall, bathroom ceiling paint flaking off, terrible tile work on the bathroom floor. Kids enjoyed the pool area. The hotel was quiet. No elevator for second floor guests!

    « Very nice hotel »

    « Best overall value »

I Would most highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the northern LA corridor. Close to Reagan library but would go out of my way to stay here if I'm in the area again. Staff, breakfast and grounds were top notch and could not have been more pleased.

    4
    « Nice stopover hotel »

Stayed here on a stopover. Nice Spanish style reception but the rooms are all motel style. Looks like the rooms have been recently being refurbished and I can understand why there have been a few reviews saying that the bed bases are causing a few stubbed toes. Nice quiet area. Decent size pool. Free breakfast and parking. Nice

    3
« Guest services needs lot work »

Hotel is been upgrade, basically paint, furniture, bathroom vanity and carpets. Everything else is old old. Hotel staff are friendly but service is the last priority. It is Best western but generally costs more than usual best westerns. Morning breakfast is nice, house keeping try best to keep the place clean. Ample parking and within 2 miles you have Costco, Walmart and lot eateries besides chines buffet place next to hotel.

  • 3
    « Good value »

Hotel is comfortable and a good value for the price. The breakfast is very good. Air conditioner is too loud and the pool closes at 10pm (too early for the weekends especially). The toilet paper holder in our room was broken.

« Customer Service is NOT a priority!! »

Customers are NOT a priority at this establishment! I booked this reservation because there was free cancellation available. After booking, I found out through reading the reviews that there was no elevator in the hotel. Since My party included someone with mobility issues, this was a huge concern. I contacted the hotel immediately and they were able to accommodate a ground level room. However, it gave me a bad impression that they did not disclose that to their customers. While I was checking in, there was a family looking frantically for the elevator. I heard their distress and am certain the front desk clerk helping me also heard it, but completely ignored them. Finally they asked the clerk directly. When he advised there was no elevator, they made a comment about the hotel not being up to safety code. The clerk's response was that they should have booked a room on the ground floor. One more thing that showed me they did not value customer service. The room itself was large, clean and very sparsely furnished, and smelled very musty. We stayed a total of 2 nights. On the 1st night, I noticed they charged me $20 more than my arranged price from booking.com. When I called the front desk, they directed me to contact booking. I did, and the rep had to call the hotel about the charge. He found out that the hotel charges a $20 refundable deposit in case of damages. Why the front desk clerk couldn't tell me that in the first place is beyond me. The next morning was check out. When I went to take a shower, I realized housekeeping left no bath mat or wash clothes and only 1 hand towel. I called the front desk who apologized and promised to send them right over. 1 & 1/2 hours later I checked out without receiving my towels. Next time I am in the area I will not being staying at this hotel. I will not pay money to an establishment that does not care about a guest's basic needs!!!

« Very comfortable room & fantastic breakfast! »

We had a room on the second level on the back side. It was very quiet comfortable. Nice loveseat and ottoman, and a comfortable desk. Very helpful staff arranged an extra night when my husband fell ill. Complimentary breakfast is fantastic with made to order omelettes and fried eggs, and all other offerings very fresh. Staff monitored the dining room constantly to refresh items and clear tables quickly. Only 3 miles from the Reagan Library.

« By far the best hotel on our 10 day trip! »

Loved this place. Very clean, great location, friendly staff and warm cookies, wine and cheese waiting for us in the lobby on arrival. Only a short drive to the Reagan Library! By far the best hotel we stayed in our trip through Arizona,California and Oregon. A must stop on our next trip to the area.

« Excellant location for visiting Presidential Library! »

This was our first visit to Simi Valley and almost drove past the hotel except that I noticed the new logo, "BW." The hotel building was not the typical look for at Best Western. There is Spanish architecture look on the outside and plenty of parking. There are plenty of eateries to choose from nearby. The only negatives are that the bed was too very hard; it felt more like sleeping on a box spring. I scratched my shin a couple of times due to the sharp squared edges on the beds. The edges need to have some rounded rubber or plastic "band-aids" to prevent the bumping!

    5
    « Never a bad experience »

I have stayed at this hotel and no matter when I have stayed, I have always been accommodated, treated very well, and had the friendliest, yet professional staff assist me. I highly recommend it for anyone traveling for business or pleasure.

    « NOT SURE »

I have stayed at this hotel many times. Not sure when, but it was nice to stay in a newly remodeled room. It still had some minor issue - the shower valve leaked and would not turn off. The front lobby staff are very friendly I will give them that. BUT!!! WHY WOULD THEY NOT TELL YOU that a huge LOUD WEDDING PARTY was going to take place up to 10:00 pm with VERY LOUD DJ music and dancing outside in the pool courtyard blasting guest in the pool / spa and rooms. WTF????? I could barely hear the music thumping and thumping all the way to the back of the hotel Rm #230 but it quit right at 10:00 pm I think someone pulled the plug literally. My room was nice and clean :-) and nice linens. They also matched a better room rate I had further down the road in Simi for a second nights stay Thank you "ANA" They did discount my second nights stay a bit for the inconvenience of having to celebrate a wedding party when your not really invited. Also have nice docking stations for electronic devises buy your bed

« Simi Valley Best Western »

This is a nice hotel to stay if you staying overnight in Simi Valley. It has a nice breakfast with a wide section of items of both hot and cold selections. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. You do not hear your neighbors or the noise from outside.

    3
    « Beware of furniture »

Everything was fine except furniture has extra sharp edges and we have bruises and I have a cut on my leg from the bed frame. We are both in our 70's so balance issues are a problem sometimes, especially during the night when we have to get up. This room was a hazard for that reason. Otherwise we were ok with our stay.

    5

    « Excellent Hotel Choice »

This hotel was a pleasant surprise when we arrived. Check-in was excellent and the rooms were very good. All aspects of the hotel were clean and the included breakfast was one of the best we have encountered. The one draw back was the location but it was not that much out of the way I would not let that be a problem in staying there again.

    5
« Great place to stay after Reagan Library »

Great place to stay after visiting Reagan Library because it's just down the street. Appeared to be newly redecorated and painted, our room was very comfortable, especially the bed!. Breakfast was very well done with hot cooked items: scrambled eggs, sausage patties, potatoes and French toast sticks. Regular hotel continental breakfast items were also included. My husband's laptop would not connect to the wifi internet, but mine did (as well as my phone) - not sure why that was. Room included a small refrigerator and microwave, however the frig did not have a freezer which we needed. My husband is diabetic and his insulin needs to be kept cold while traveling so we had nowhere to refreeze our 4 small icepacks. I checked with the front desk and after checking with several other staff, a kitchen employee (dressed like a chef) agreed to put them in the kitchen freezer. He would not be working in the morning so front desk employee said he would write a note for morning staff. In the morning when we went to retrieve them, no one had a clue. Again, one of the kitchen staff managed to find them in the freezer after asking several people. You might want to consider this type of benefit for guests with medical needs requiring a freezer. Side note: I did not check with the facility ahead of time regarding freezer space nor did I ask about in the special requests box when I made the reservation because we've never had this problem before, but all worked out in the end.

    3
    « It was Ok! »

Hotel was ok, looks like the room was renovated, but had a bad renovation, poor workmanship in the small details, the toilet would run if you didn't jiggle the handle, low water pressure from the sink, overall it was ok, I have been to other hotels and was able to say wow this is nice, didn't get that feeling here.

    2
« Great location- cleanliness of rooms poor »

Great location, friendly staff, but the cleanliness of the rooms is very poor. We had mold in showers and stale smoke smell throughout the room. The main light went out in the room on the last day and we had people running above us late at night.

    5
    « Very nice! »

After visiting the nearby Ronald Reagan Presidential Museum snd Library we stayed at the Best Western Posada Royal. One of the nicest Best Westerns we have stayed in. Suites are updated and nicely appointed. Hot breakfast was a pleasant surprise and included poolside dining.

« Clean rooms, great nights sleep! »

I had a really good overnight stay here after flying from London to LAX. The hotel itself is simple and quiet, rooms are a very good size and very clean. The breakfast was a much better standard that normal hotel buffet breakfasts and set in a bright open room overlooking a courtyard. The price I paid was very reasonable and perfect for staying slightly north of LA as we were then heading to Yosemite. If you are looking for something around the Simi Valley area, definitely try this one!

    5
    « Very Nice Experience »

We have stayed at this hotel twice and the property is very pretty. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the bedding is extremely nice and the bed itself is very comfortable. Everything was spotless. Whenever we're in this area we wouldn't stay anywhere else!

    « Best Western review »

Hotel is old but in good condition, after a lot of recent renovation. It is well designed with a pool and hot tub in the middle of its square layout. Room was clean with good A/C (they provide room AC units only), and quiet. Service was very good: they responded to our request for a quiet room location; were nice and accommodating; had a very good "extra": a free wine "two hours" from 6-8 PM; and made a great suggestion for a restaurant for dinner, which was a highlight of our stay in Simi Valley. Warning: they have no elevators, and stairs are not "easy".

    « Awesome Hotel! »

I loved every minute of my stay there. The staff was great, especially this girl named Ariana. She's was so sweet and always helpful. Beds were comfy and overall good stay. It was in a great spot in town, too.

« The staff was extremely nice!! »

Cannot say enough about the staff working the front desk and the breakfast room. Left my ring by the pool and a guest, thankfully, turned it in, it was locked in a small safe. Arriana was one of the good people working there, she was pleasant on the phone and in person. I left a small notebook in the breakfast room, and the manager called my room to let to let me know it had been turned in. Rooms are clean, they have Happy Hour and morning breakfast. Just beware, corner of the bed frame, it will leave a nice shiner on your leg if you don't see it.

We really enjoyed our stay despite a few maintenance issues. The location was perfect and we loved the delicious breakfast selections of hot items and omelets. The pool and hot tub were wonderful. The hotel still has room maintenance issues from its recent remodel that need addressing - our room had no toilet roll dispenser, shower/tub old and cracked and faucet needs recaulking, windows were dirty, electrical outlet was loose and devices wouldn't stay in, door key pad access wouldn't work right. Staff was wonderful and the evening free wine/cheese/cookies were an extra treat.

« Extremely good value. Great breakfast. »

We regularly travel 2 hoursfrom our home to visit family. Long day makes a return trip. So we have tried many venues and like the This best even though it is out of our way! A truly great breakfast, generous sized, well lit room plus an alert staff makes the difference.

« Better than most BWs but needs work still »

Stayed for a soccer tournament. $99.00 for a two queen room. Not a bad price. Room was nice bathroom was remodeled obviously due to the poor drywall finish. Over all it was a good stay. Breakfast was decent, Place is clean staff friendly.

    « Graduation weeekend »

Stayed here for Neices graduation from cal state northridge. Whole group of us found complimentary breakfast excellent to start our day. Staff was extremely helpful with my elderly parents (helped with bags and retrieving breakfast items). We needed balloons for the graduation and thoughtfully sent to a nearby party store. Great location and staging area for our large group. Would recommend for groups passing thru the area

« Hotel Manager was a Huge Help! »

My husband and I had pre-booked a reservation on bestwestern.com that we quickly(within hours of booking) needed to change. Best Western apparently has a strange policy of not allowing changes or cancellations for pre-paid rooms, even though I hadn't been charged anything & nowhere in the fine print stated this. This was quite irritating and unheard of from any other hotel chain. However, I called and spoke with Anna, this location's manager and she easily changed the date & even upgraded us due to BW status. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating and made it a worthwhile stay. Other benefits are an above average breakfast vs. other BW hotels, close proximity to the Reagan Library & walking distance to good restaurants. We are very thankful to the staff here & to Anna for preventing us from becoming two very disgruntled BW patrons.

Very nice stay, staff courteous and helpful. Clean, Quiet, and I believe good value for the area I have stayed there before and they have been upgrading the appearance of the hotel and rooms. I will plan on staying there again. They have nice and clean pool area with hot tub - nice to relax. Very good freeway access.

« Simi Valley family visit »

The hotel was under renovation when we stayed but this didn't detract from the overall comfort of the stay. Situated in a lovely area and with great access to the freeway and to our relatives home.Good restaurants, convenience and supermarkets close by. Hospitable and friendly staff. It will be great when the renovations are done. Their replacing all the carpets, furniture etc. It's not really a suite! Suites usually have a separate bedroom. Both beds were in the same room. Needed hooks for hanging towels in bathroom. Didn't provide enough towels for 4 people. We asked for more and they brought more promptly. Having the pool so close to the room was disruptive. People were swimming late and they were on the noisy side. The breakfast was pretty good! I'd stay there again!

    « Horrible Hotel/Motel »

Do NOT stay here!!! Upon check-in (two rooms), we found the room had no closet to hang clothes (the closet door and even the rod was missing). The toilet seat was NOT attached. The shower was dripping constantly (literally every 2 seconds). The Formica base under the mattress stuck out and the corners were lifted such that it cut my leg about 3". It is still healing. The entry door often did not lock from outside. You could push a little and it would open. (Not a very secure feeling if you leave your room). Went back to front desk immediately to change the rooms. The desk clerk, "Ana" refused to change the rooms. We asked to speak to the Manager and she refused that also. Customers waiting in line to check-in even asked Ana why she didn't help us first since we have been waiting at the desk. She REFUSED to help us and told us she'll refund our money back so we can go elsewhere at 10 p.m.. Then she refused to do that also because we were pre-paid. She told customers she was NOT going to argue with us. Other customers were in shock as witnesses. We returned to the room and called Hotels.com customer service manager who called the hotel and talked to Ana. She put the Hotels.com customer service manager and us on hold for such a long time that they finally hung up. I called again and talked to a different manager at Hotels.com, and she got a hold of a different person at the desk, and he was willing to change the room. By now it was midnight and other couple in our party were already asleep. Next morning there was a different person at the desk, Brandy, very nice and cordial, who changed our rooms immediately.

    « Beautiful location »

We wanted to visit the Reagan Library and this hotel is perfect because it was wonderful and very close to the Library. The accommodations were so good, I would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Simi Valley.

    « pleasant stay »

Had a nice experience and was everything we were needing as were going to the Reagan Library. Places to eat and shop all around and easy to get to. Great location. Staff was very friendly. Had easy check in and out. Breakfast was as great!!

« Great value for the area. »

Some construction/room remodeling going on but they did their best to minimize any inconvenience. Breakfast was very, very good! The price per room here compared with other nearby properties make this an amazing value. The evening wine reception was an expected pleasure.

« Clean, quiet, and comfortable »

Overall: This was not your typical Best Western... or maybe BW has changed. They exceeded my group's expectations. We stayed in four rooms for four nights. I would stay here again. Room: The room felt roomier than most hotels in this price range. It was clean and comfortable. The mattress and pillows were the right firmness. The bathroom and towels were spotless. The shower had strong water pressure. I wasn't happy that the air conditioning couldn't be set to constantly run - I like to drown out the exterior noise. Fortunately, the halls have concrete floors so I woke only once due to loud voices. Wi-fi was faster than typical. Security: The setup of this hotel has exterior hallways. I'm not sure this is the safest setup. Also, the neighborhood didn't appear to be the safest. I wasn't comfortable running at night, but in the day my guess is it's OK. Breakfast: Was an excellent free breakfast - far better than most in this price range. Eggs were real, not powdered. Everything was well stocked and warm. Consisted of scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, pancakes or French toast. There were typical cereals, juices and coffee, and fruit. Staff: Everyone was great - front desk, Breakfast, and maids. Very helpful, courteous, and hard working.

« Good location to visit Reagan Library »

We booked executive suite. The room was very tired. The bathroom had inadequate lighting, the living room section was very bare and needed remodeling. Clean and quiet. Staff very nice and accommodating. The breakfast was very nice and the restaurant staff was very nice and made sure we had everything we wanted. Wine was served at night but we had plans with friends so didn't stop by. The location was great, about 3 miles from street to Reagan Library.

    « Nothing like the picture on-line. »

Nothing like the picture on line. Awful! Mattresses next to our room, door wouldn't shut all the way, huge gap all the way around the door. Toilet wouldn't stop running. Every time another room close to us took a shower it sounded like they were in our room. Lots of trash, dirty, mattresses next to our room.

    « BW Simi Valley »

This Best Western motel is the MOST. The facility is great and the staff is exceptional. The Wine and Cheese in the afternoon and the Breakfast in the morning are the BEST. I look forward to coming here each time.

« WOW! Our 50th Anniversary & The Reagan Library »

As a celebration of our 50th anniversary we decided to take a quick trip to Simi Valley to visit the Reagan Library. We did this on the spur of the moment and found the Best Western Posada Royale located centrally for this visit. Upon arrival at this BW facility we were met with a very pleasant desk attendant who found us an upgrade to celebrate this special occasion. Wine, crackers, cheese and grapes were served that evening in the facility. The specially made omelets at breakfast in the morning were a nice touch. The work-out facility and outdoor pool area were greatly appreciated, too. Throughout our time we were treated with kindness and respect. Thank you.

    « Everything We Needed »

Great place and great people caring for the place. We felt taken care of and very safe. The grounds are beautiful, and the pool was exactly what we needed after a hot day of showing horses. They were busy remodeling, so there were a few things missing from our room or I would have given that a 5 also..will return for sure.

« paint fumes, lack of chairs & exposed wiring »

Stayed in early Feb 2017 to attend a local tournament. The property was undergoing a makeover (paint, furniture, fixtures). We were given the unfinished room directly across from the pool, ice machine and vending machine. The room number was taped to the door. Since we arrived well after midnight, we contended with paint fumes, lack of chairs and exposed wiring. No maid service for the 2 nights we stayed. The property shouldn't have used the room or should have forewarned us and offered a discount. We've been lifelong Best Western customers. This experience was disappointing.

« Pretty Good, Updated, Some Noise »

They are updating the whole hotel, which looks pretty good so far. The rooms are mostly quiet, except by the pool. In that area, they might rehearse a wedding, or host a whole busload of high school kids who want to carry on in the pool. I have seen both. I have luckily avoided the worst of it. The rooms that face the pool area get the brunt of the noise. So choose your room wisely and you'll have a good stay. One of the more interesting features of staying here is the breakfast which comes free with the room. Their breakfast is outstanding. Far from the usual carb load of other hotels that offer a continental breakfast, the Best Western in Simi gives you a custom-made egg dish, such as a scramble with ingredients you can customize, or an omelette etc. And they usually have an array of other items such as freshly made bacon, potatoes, waffles, toast, yogurt, bagels? Pretty much most of what you would want in a breakfast. The coffee is also pretty good. This place has become so popular because of the breakfast that you will see a lot of travelers stopping here along the way to various destinations. I think it's worth a stay, especially since there are so few options in the area.

« Nice hotel but beware of Room 261 »

It grieves me to give this hotel a poor review. It has an excellent breakfast, large rooms and is priced right. However, how the hotel handled the problems with Rm 261 leaves a lot to be desired. We arrived late on a Monday afternoon and told the on-duty front desk manager on our way out for dinner that the HVAC system was blowing hot air. Nothing had been done on our return and we slept with the window open. Luckily it was cool out but there was much noise from the other HVAC units and the light on the balcony was annoying. We reported the problem in the morning to the on-duty front desk manager but nothing was done when we returned later in the afternoon. We again reported the problem to the on-duty front desk manager and were advised that a repair order was issued and the front-desk manager recommended we open the window. In addition, the sink was backed-up and also leaking. This room should not have been let with all these deficiencies. At check-out, the front-desk manager advised the owner was aware of the problems so the ownership's direction is extremely puzzling.

« Not for disabled guests »

If you , or your family member have any phisical disability- this place is not for you. If you wish to take shower or shaving with a mobile phone light than welcome. 1. No elevator. I was promised to get help with bags "we will wait for you near the stairs" no one waited for me . I had to climb with bags on my back and then with the wife who underwent knee surgery 2. AC was leaking but it was repaired fast 3. Light in the bathroom was not working periodically. Sometimes, during shower. We asked for assistance few times. No one helped.

This hotel is so serene, with beautiful view and lovely caring Staff. The stop we have to see our favourite Presidential Reagan Library. The drive getting there are breathtaking, it is so beautiful. The Hotel are clean and big there's breakfast even a hot grill going outside. I love that the Hotel cater to the Military and family.

    « Very nice property »

Came in late, easy check in. Easy to find- beautiful grounds- stop and smell the roses! Breakfast was a nice buffet- nothing great but worth the price of the hotel. Close to Ronald Reagan Library which was the purpose of my trip.

    « Looking forward to a revisit »

Stayed here 3 years ago whilst visiting family and loved the hotel, pool, staff and breakfasts. Have booked for July this year again as we enjoyed our last stay so much, new rooms look amazing, here's hoping we get one of them. Really well placed for visits to Simi, RR Library and California beaches. Pool was great and caught the sun almost all of the day. Staff were really friendly and helpful and gave loads of suggestions about local areas of interest

    « The Great Escape! »

I was presenting at a local conference and this place was perfect! It was easy to find. There were many places to get last minute items and plenty of places to eat nearby. The room was clean, beds were comfy, and always enjoy where there is a mini fridge and a microwave included. There was plenty of parking and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. Ther were a few of us presenters from all over California and we all pretty much agreed that is was a great place to stay for this educational meet up!

    « Under Construction! »

The hotel was under construction and this was never disclosed to us before we arrived. The room had lights that did not work, electric outlets that did not work, no towel rack, no toilet paper rack, and the shower was dilapidated with a green moldy head. We booked the room for 4 people and only 3 towels were given...we asked for more and never received them. Construction workers everywhere with fresh paint, dust, smelly carpet rolls, and general debris everywhere. We understand that renovations happen, but a simple prior notification could have eased a lot of discomfort. We have stayed at this hotel before and the stay was fine...that is why we chose to return. In the future we will spend a bit more and avoid a hotel under construction. We were told that breakfast ended at 10 am...so when we went down to eat on Monday morning at 9:10, we found that breakfast was cleaned up and the kitchen was closed. It was then explained to us that breakfast ends at 10 am on weekends, but on weekdays it ends at 9:00 am. Again, a simple, accurate, prior notification could have eased a bit of discomfort and disappointment.

« Hotel under Remodel - Not ready. »

We were not told that the hotel was under remodel. Upon arrival you could see all the old carpet piled outside in front of check in. The staff said our rooms were remodeled and we were lucky to get them. They may have had new furniture and carpet, but, the holes in the bathroom wall, no door frames leaving exposed metal studs could have caused injury to seniors or children. Finish the job and then rent out the hotel!!!

    5
    « breakfast »

The best breakfast that we have gotten at any Best Western property that we have stayed at to date. You can get cook to order eggs, omelets, scramble eggs, whatever you would like. You can also get the standard scrambles eggs. The breakfast room is large and very comfortable.

« Hotel going through an upgrade »

The hotel was going through a complete remodel. The areas that are complete look very nice. Was not bothered by the construction at all and even the workmen were extremely polite and went out of their way to allow us to walk through areas they were working. Nice central outdoor patio and pool area to hang out with a group or individuals.

« Exposed wiring, sparks, near electrocution »

This Hotel was/is under renovation. We rented 2 rooms for my wife and I, our 2 small kids and my mother in law. One of the rooms had an exposed outlet without a face plate. I brushed it my leg and sparks went flying and the power went out of our room. We had to change rooms late at night, waking up my infant son. My 2 year old daughter had plugged in her nightlight just hours before this occurred. LUCKILY, she happen to plug it in on the opposite side of the room. If by chance she chose that plug, she could have been electrocuted!!! The manager (not on site) had the front desk offer us %50 off for our trouble. The next day they gave one free night (1 of 4) There was also broken glass on the stairs leading up to our room. While I understand the need for renovations, the complete lack of oversight and pure negligence is completely unacceptable and frankly quite DANGEROUS!! We were appalled.

    5
« Great for the area »

Even though there's some remodeling still taking place, this is a great stay. Clean modern rooms. Beautiful lobby, and pool area. Stayed in King Suit. Very reasonable price. Vaulted ceilings. Don't let the fact some finishes aren't complete...the overall is really nice...and new. Comfortable beds and convenient layout. Balcony views are relaxing. Free hot breakfast is really fresh and we'll prepared. We enjoyed a quiet comfortable stay.while visiting Reagan Library. This hotel was close. And close to many restaurants.

« Very Comfortable, Courteous and Lovely Atmosphere »

I will stay again as often as possible at this excellent, lovely, comfortable and convenient hotel. The breakfast is very good, the rooms very comfortable, and the hotel staff is very courteous and helpful. It is a lovely respite.

« A typical Best Western Hotel Stay in Simi Valley »

We stayed overnight in this Best Western property in Simi Valley to break up our long driving trip to San Diego. The hotel's location is good -- not far from the freeway turn-off, and the breakfast was very good, especially with the availability of cook-to-order hot breakfast and good variety of fresh fruits, pastries, juices, and beverages. The room we stayed was large enough to have two queen beds, and the linens, towels are of good quality. The interior of the room, however, is somewhat tired and is in need of a new paint job and new wall paper. Overall, our stay was pleasant and the price was reasonable; hence a relatively good value for the money!

    4
« Not bad, a little dated but respectable »

Stayed one night for a wedding at the Wood Ranch golf course. Shuttle ran promptly as promised by the hotel. Check in was great, the front desk lad was extremely pleasant and upbeat and we were able to check in a little early to get ready for the event. The rooms are a little dated, they have tried to update the room but it still shows signs of wear and age. What do you expect from a hotel that has been around awhile? My big complaint was that the bed was very firm. I am used to sleeping on a cloud, so I did wake up with a neck ache the next morning. There was a microwave and fridge in the room which was a nice bonus. They also accommodated my request for a balcony room, the balcony can barely fit two chairs on it but it was nice to sit out and have a pre-wedding cocktail. There is a small pool and hot tub in the middle of the complex. The included breakfast also had a made to order omelet station, but it is outside the eating area not readily visible so I am sure the poor attendants were annoyed with someone asking them every 5 seconds where it was. Had a nice spread of breakfast fare, more than just a continental type breakfast so that was a pleasant surprise. It is close to the library if you are in town for that. There are several shopping centers nearby for restaraunts and snacks. They are also putting in a chinese buffet next door, so that might be a dining option once it is open. I would stay here again and ask for a mattress topper if I am ever back up in this area.

    3
    « Eh »

Most of the staff was courteous and friendly, save for one who really left a bitter taste in our mouth at the time of check-in. The jacuzzi was quaint, and the pool freezing cold. The breakfast was edible, but nothing to write home about by any means. The pull-out bed sagged. The carpet showed its age. Due to a high-ceiling window, part of the room was too bright in the morning. All in all, amenities were minimalist, and the "motel" served its purpose for a place to sleep.

    « Very nice hotel »

All around very good value. The hotel is a bit older but the lobby and courtyard is really nice. Rooms and bathroom quite spacious, bed was good and pretty quiet although we were there on o Monday. Not far from shopping and restaurants so good location. Staff friendly. 2 extra's that you don't see often, we had complimentary wine and cheese from 6-8 in the lobby and the hot breakfast is well above average with an outdoor omelet bar. Highly recommended, won't look for anything else next time I'm in Simi Valley

    4
    « Funky in a good way »

This is not a cookie cutter hotel. There are all kinds of individual touches here. There is complimentary wine and cheese on week days, an excellent breakfast, including a made to order omelet bar, and a friendly, helpful staff. The location is very good. I especially like that Target (with a Starbucks) is one block away-- very walk-able. Refrigerators and microwaves are in the rooms. Coffee is in the lobby. Local restaurants are a few blocks away on either side. We especially enjoyed Ali Baba, in a strip center very close to the hotel. (Try the lamb kabobs and the beef shwarmma and take the leftovers back to the room. It makes a great lunch the next day re-heated in the microwave.)

    « A great value... »

My wife was skeptical- especially when I told her the price included a cooked breakfast. I told her it was highly rated and that we should give it a try. She reluctantly agreed. It's not the Ritz- but it is one of the best Hotel values we have ever stayed at. As the reviews told us, the breakfast was absolutely terrific! The room was clean and quiet and except for a few decorating touches which my wife pointed out was excellent. We recommend a stay at this hotel when visiting the Reagan Library! We don't think you'll be disappointed!

This was a great hotel. Wonderful staff and the breakfast is great. This what what I like best western hotels, their price is great and they give awesome breakfast. we were here for a wedding in Moore Park and this was the hotel that was chosen by the bride and groom, we were treated in a friendly and professional customer service.Special thanks to Javier for making sure that everything was working in the bathroom. The breakfast was very good and the omelette station was absolutely wonderful as well great selection of food for breakfast. Thank you all for making our stay memorable . Keep up the good work. The hotel is very clean as well as the grounds.

    « Wedding »

The hotel was very nice and clean. The room was very spacious . I stayed in a two bed room it had a vaulted celling. The room was very clean, beds comfy, staff friendly. It is within walking distance to a target. Not that far away from the mall. The only bad thing was there was not that many places to eat around it. We ordered pizza and gad it delivered with no problem

    4
« Rocky start- strong finish »

Check in was chaotic but the front desk staff really pulled a rabbit out a hat getting us into our rooms to get ready before the wedding. 2 weddings all staying there same day- people we forcing late check outs and the late cleanings- hence no room being ready (until after the wedding started-which we all protested to basically at the same time). The desk was overwhelmed but compensated us for it. The location is great, the rooms were clean and the hotel is nice. I would totally go back

« Excellent Place to Stay! Amazing Staff, Service and Breakfast! »

This is an amazing hotel with a such a wonderful staff. I called to adjust a reservation for my brother-in-law and I can't believe how helpful and kind your reservationist Kyle was. Informative, understanding, professional and accommodating. You could not have a better member on your front desk team than Kyle. I was calling from Hawaii and not sure what would happen with my family and Kyle appeased all my worries. So wonderful! Thank you so much for helping me secure my room for my family. My brother in law and his dad were very impressed with the rooms, staff and amenities. He mentioned that you also have a wonderful omelette chef!

    « Enjoyed the stay »

Chose the Best Western for the location being within 5 minutes of the Reagan Presidential Library. At check in we were greeted by a very friendly, helpful desk attendant. He suggested several restaurants for dinner and some options on how to spend the few hours before dinner. The room was clean and comfortable. The HVAC was a bit noisy during the night but not enough that I would not stay here again. The complementary breakfast was loaded with many options.

This BW is quiet yet close to Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks. We had a 2 room suite which was very nice. The bed was good as were the bedding and towels. Service was excellent. « Pleasant surprise after a long day of travel and sightseeing »

After a long day of travel and sightseeing, we booked the Posada Royale at the last minute. The Posada Royale turned out to be one of the highlights of the day. The staff was very friendly and attentive and invited us to their wine and cheese tasting in the lobby from 6PM to 8PM. What a treat! Nice variety of wines, cheese and crackers, and fruit. The following morning, we were again pleasantly surprised at their excellent breakfast! Variety of hot dishes, fruits, pastries, omelets to order, cereals, etc. For the small difference in price between this hotel and other cut rate places we considered, we definitely made the right choice. THANK YOU POSADA ROYALE!

We stayed at the Posada Royale Hotel & Suites after visiting the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. We were greeted by a professional and friendly staff that went out of their way to ensure we were pleased. Our room was a large one-bedroom suite overlooking the pool and courtyard. The room had a small balcony with two chairs to allow us to enjoy the relaxing view. Breakfast was excellent. Custom made omelettes, fresh fruit, fresh bread and pastries were all excellent. Very quiet venue.

I chose this location because of it's close proximity to the Ronald Reagan Library. Glad we did, because after our five tour of the Library, I was happy to find our Hotel so close, very quick to check-in and a short rest before dinner. It's also very close to the 118 freeway.

« Old and Aging Can Sometimes Be OK »

Had our 50th high school reunion here... One aspect of the place jumps right to the top of the list...The staff was OVERWHELMINGLY helpful, sincere, and ready to make our stay a memorable one... Kudos to the fellow who made the aging computer do a deed for me in the business office...He finally took my info and went into the office behind the front desk and copied out some needed work for me that I had to have that weekend... As to the hotel...Bit on the aging side...Even noticed the repainting work was a bit sloppily here and there...but the pool and spa area is "old school" and our breakfast was just fine, thank you... Omelette station OUTSIDE and we were able to sit on those tables under the early morning Simi Valley sun... Good location for the area as it it is close to all major highways out there and if you plan to visit the museum it is a good place to hang your weary head at the end of a busy tourist day... Needed a tasty Tommy Burger and one was just down the street...First night we stayed in the room and had a picnic in front of the big screen...Scored all our goodies at the huge Target up the street at the next corner... Did like our LARGE two room suite...Just be aware it is not all sparkly and shinny as it has been standing proud on Madera Road for quite a while...Second floor has NO elevator access...Have to walk up flight of stairs...So, take note if you have a handicapped person in your party...If you are ready to relax, Posada is the place...Super quiet here... Get a good rate? Stay at the Best Western Posada Royale Hotel and Suites...Heck a place with such a long name can't be all bad...Right?

« Will stay here again »

Had a good experience in this hotel. I loved that their pool is heated, warm breakfast, comfortable bed, free wifi, clean and maintained amenities..Really close to the Ronald Reagan library. Wine and crackers from 6-8pm is awesome.

    « a bit tired »

The rooms are a bit tired and there is no bar or restaurant - the bar and restaurant out side looks decidedly closed. The furnishings are a little worn and shabby. I'm not a big fan of showering in a bath in a hotel. However, the service and staff are helpful and useful and the breakfast is good as well as the WiFi. The owners need to spend a bit of money to update the place and get a less noisy ice machine!!

« Helpful staff save my high school reunion »

Recently I traveled from Northern California to Southern California for my 50th high school reunion. I had a very hot, 7 hr drive with no AC. I arrived to check in, only to find that I was at the wrong hotel. I had booked - through Expedia.com - into another Best Western hotel with an almost identical name, but over 30 miles away. This was unworkable. The BW staff got to work to find me alternative local lodging and it actually worked out that I got a room right there - the only cancellation in a hotel booked solid for a wedding as well as a big reunion. Thanks, Anna!

« Nice Pool and Breakfast Area--Rooms Need Updated »

This hotel was easy to find in Simi Valley, and we were ready to relax after traveling all day. We arrived at the hotel thinking we had 3 rooms reserved poolside/pool view--WRONG. They were all booked even though we made reservations months and months in advance with only that one special request. We had to settle with a parking lot view, which was extremely loud every morning with utility trucks beeping while backing out of their parking spots. The rooms in general are very clean but quite dated--a fresher, updated look would easily change my opinion. The bathrooms are tiny, but we managed the week we were there. There is a nice wet bar with a fridge and microwave just inside each room which was a nice addition. We actually used the wet bar sink instead of the bathroom sink since our bathroom sink only dripped water. Thankfully the shower and sink in the wet bar had better water pressure. Our favorites--the pool and breakfast area. We figured after only a day of the continental breakfast, we would be tired of it--wrong. 8 days into our trip, we were pleased with the breakfast choices and especially the fresh fruit. Both dining areas inside and outside were beautiful. It was the same with the pool area. We spent alot of time by the pool which could have used a few more chairs, but it worked since we were out early every day. We enjoyed the clean water and nice pool grounds. Another word of advice: request a 1st level room if you cannot climb stairs for any reason--there is no elevator. That made our commute to and from the room very tricky the first and last days we were there since we had 8 days of luggage with us, each weighing around 40-50 pounds. I am pregnant and found this to be an issue. All in all, if the rooms were updated, I would not mind going back. I was ready to come home to my own bed and bathroom, however, this time.

« Great place for relaxing »

We came along this place when we went to see the Regan Library. It has a very nice jacuzzi and friendly and helpful staff. But no elevator for the 2nd floor. Also the pillows need to be more comfortable.

    « Nice Surprise »

Room was spacious and well appointed. Excellent location for visiting the Reagan Presidential Library. The breakfast setting was very pleasant. The chef making to order omelets was a nice touch. The rest of the food was better than other places we have stayed. Loved the afternoon wine and cheese. Although didn't use the fitness center, it was roomy, but not much equipment. Didn't use the pool and spa so can't say, but the spa water didn't look inviting.

« Outdated, But Great Breakfast! »

Our room was on the second floor, and it took a little time to wrap my mind around the fact that there was no elevator. Front desk staff were, however, very accommodating at helping with getting luggage up to our room. I was surprised that there was no air conditioning in the lobby, even though it was August. The rooms were clean, but a bit outdated. The carpet in the room appeared very old and needed replacement. The bed was comfortable, sheets and towels were very clean. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic, with made to order omelettes!

« An outstanding Best Western Hotel »

Because of my work travel, I stay in many, many hotels, and I often select Best Western because of the consistent quality and service. However, the Best Western Posada Royal Hotel & Suites, Simi Valley was the best of the Best Western. The free breakfast is excellent.

« BW Posada Royale is a little tired. »

This hotel has some potential, it just needs to be updated. The furnishings are a little old. What really bothered me were the bugs in our room - crickets. The breakfast is pretty good and the pool area is nice. For the price, I would expect something a little nicer.

« Great stay at Best Western »

The staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and modern. Everything worked. The parking was close to the rooms and patrolled by the security guard.. The facility has a nice pool and Jacuzzi. In the morning, they had a buffet style breakfast bar and a chef was making omelets to order. The location if quite and not near irritating noises. This is a very nice location and hotel.

« New management has made a positive difference. »

We have stayed here a few times in the past few years. This was the best experience. The cleanliness had improved greatly, and the entire property looked better maintained. I also found the staff a lot friendlier then they have been in the past. As always, the breakfast offers many choices for many different appetites.

    « Comfortable »

This motel is comfortable, and had a nice sitting area with bedroom in back. The breakfast service is very good and wine and cheese offered in evening was a nice touch. Site is very convenient to Regan Library.

« Convenient Hotel for CLU Visit »

My family stayed at this hotel while we attended our daughter's orientation at California Lutheran University. The location was convenient to CLU and there were several stores nearby. The Target store was great for dorm supplies and decor. Only hotel complaint is that they only provided 3 bath towels for 4 guests. But, that was pretty minor.

    5
    « Great comfortable stay »

Very comfortable stay in the beautiful mountains. Clean rooms great breakfast love the omelletes! If I had to say anything the bathtub was chipped of paint. Even offered free wine on our first night Thursday.

« Very comfortable bed! Balcony! »

We stayed here for a weekend in August. We booked a king suite through Trip Advisor. Upon arriving we were pleasantly surprised that the parking lot was large and had plenty of room for our 4-door Dually. Parking is very convenient to the rooms too. Our room was on the second floor with a balcony right over the pool. We really enjoyed sitting outside with a glass of wine in the evenings. The king bed was very comfortable! Very close to Reagan Library and an Albertson's across the street which was convenient. The only negative is they have banquet facilities and there was a very loud reunion party going on in the courtyard below complete with a dorky DJ. Evidently they have events booked almost every weekend so if you need it quiet before 11 pm you might want to inquire before booking.

« Great Breakfast buffet, good internet but.... »

Great breakfast buffet, great internet, the bottom floors were loud in the am, meaning upstairs pipes woke me up and our room had a slight odor. Sheets were not great but room was clean and somewhat outdated. Great TV and mini fridge was nice.

    « Great breakfast »

Have stayed here a few times. They're are always events their like weddings and bar mitzvahs. Love the pool here. Some rooms even have jacuzzi. Really appreciate the breakfast in the morning. They even have an omelette station so it's not just continental breakfast

    « Very Comfortable Hotel »

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and it was a great experience. Hotel staff was welcoming and very nice. Property is clean and well maintained. Pool area is nice and a little on the small size but sufficient. Hot tub is large and great. Clean pool towels always seem to run out but when you ask the front desk for more - they promptly had fresh towels delivered. Our room was large and had a refrigerator. Beds were very comfortable. We did notice in the bathroom some small ants and reported that to the front desk. They wanted to come in our room to spray - we opted to deal with them and they could spray when we left. Not a big issue. Breakfast was hot and excellent. Free self parking was never a problem since they have a big parking lot. Free WI-FI was spotty. Overall a nice property that was safe and very nice. We did call for a wake up call and it didn't happen - when I called the front desk about why - they told me they had problems with their phone system - glad I didn't have to be anywhere at a certain time - I might have been late. Location was off a busy street but never heard street noise in our hotel. Would stay there again.

    « Great Customer Service »

Nice hotel to stay. Close to Reagan Library, Quiet, Breakfast is very good. Pool is comfortable and the jacuzzi was very warm. Nice chairs to sit by the pool.. The front desk is excellent. Great Customer service. Room was comfortable. For the money, it was above my expectations. Food is close by. The room has a refrigerator and microwave.

    4
    « Pleasant, cheery, well-situated »

The hotel has a pleasing, open lobby and grounds. A shopping center is a brief walk away. Perfect stopover if you are visiting the Reagan Library. The breakfast room is bright and staff there attentive. Both hot and cold breakfast available. Mix of guests, from families using the pool to business travelers.

    2
    « Terrible customer service »

The front desk staff set the tone of our stay, they were rude and did no even acknowledge that we were even standing there. Then when helping us they acted put out and not very helpful. The property was mostly fine, but the head boards of the beds looked like someone scratched graffiti in to them.

    « Dont Stay here!! »

Though the staff was professional and courteous, this hotel is in extremely poor repair. The only reason why I would give it a single star is because of the lobby, and staff. Our room had holes in the walls, questionable stains on the furniture, and a t bath room in extreme need of renovation. I developed a foot fungus from the use of this hotel. My recommendations that if this is the only hotel available, either delay your trip or reserve a hotel further away. You may wonder why we stayed our two nights in this hotel from hell, were in town for a very important family function the hotels in the are were full. We purchased our own sheets to cover the furniture so we could sit down and sleep on the bed and we did not have time to make other arrangements.

« Always delivers a quality stay when I'm away from home. »

This hotel is surely not the newest hotel you will find but the management has done a fabulous job at keeping it up to snuff. The breakfast is as good as it gets for no additional charge, don't forget to tip the omelette chef, a great breakfast is a great way to start the day.

    4
« Great stay, will come to this location again »

Wonderful and friendly staff. Beds were comfy, the bathroom could use a little help, but other than that a great stay. The best part was the breakfast, custom made omelet and many breakfast items to choose from. Will come back to this location again.

    « Stay, Relax, & Enjoy Breakfast »

This Best Western in Simi Valley, CA has the best breakfast at a hotel. The professional chefs were outstanding and the fresh cooked omelets were so good. It was so relaxing to eat breakfast in the courtyard. The quality of food offered was greatly appreciated and help start the day of the vacation. The breakfast is free. The room was nice and clean and we had a good nights sleep. The pool and hot tub was fun. The grounds are kept up. This Best Western in Simi Valley, Ca is worth it all. It was great. Stay, relax, swim and most of all enjoy their five star breakfast. Have a great stay! Ours was awesome.

    2
« We should have booked ahead of time »

The room was good. They only had a King Suite available so we had to take that one. The hotel staff were great and very friendly. The price you get at the hotel is much more than if you book online through TripAdvisor. That being said we tried to book a room that we would have gotten a good price for but waited too long. So the only other option was to get the King suite. It was great it had 2 separate rooms. A living room and a big bedroom. I was not pleased with the light outside of our room that stayed on all night. The curtains did not block it out well. There should have been a quiet time at the hotel. It was past 11:30pm when we went to bed. There were still people in the pool outside and they were loud. We did not stick around for breakfast in the AM. It looked like most of the hotel was eating at the same time. Overall the stay was ok, and the hotel was taken care of.

    4
« Nice hotel, great complimentary breakfast. »

This was a nice hotel with a comfortable room, but the standout thing for me was the complimentary breakfast. This was a really good breakfast, and they actually had custom made omelets. I would have been content finding a restaurant with this good of a breakfast. Well done!

    2
« Tired hotel and smelly room »

This is a very tired hotel. I have stayed there several times over the years, and this is the last time. It's poorly maintained and has a horrible smell in the room I used. From scratches on the headboard to old fixtures and furniture, this was a poor and overpriced choice. All done with this hotel.

    5
    « Posada Royal Hotel »

Older hotel that more than compensates with a great complimentary breakfast, cookies for the kids, and wine and cheese at 6 PM. Best aspect beyond a fine pool, Jacuzzi and comfortable clean room and beds is the staff, which is more than competent and caring, indeed out of their way helpful.

    2
    « Reagan Library trip. »

Sorely in need of renovation. Our room had the musty/dusty smell of old furnishings and carpet. Bathroom very small and dated, no place to put personal items. Beds were ok but also worn. Had hoped that the highly touted breakfast would save the day but we found it to be the same average fare as other hotels with the exception of the omelet chef. Pleasant staff. Ok for one night.

« Visiting Ronald Reagan Library »

While going to Simi Valley to see President Reagan's Library and the special exhibit of Vatican treasures, we stayed at this hotel and were very pleased with the whole experience. They had wine cheese and crackers in the evening and a full breakfast which included omelets. The room was clean and comfortable. We would stay here again if we were to travel in this direction.

    « Very Nice »

We stayed here for out wedding night. I was very impressed when we walked in. Very night bathroom and shower, high volted ceilings and a patio overlooking the courtyard. And the complimentary buffet banquet styled brunch is AMAZING.

    « Great stay!! »

We arrived here for a one night stay, and got a suite. The sight was very nice and well kept so it was a great first impression. our suite was large and very clean, and the bathroom is spotless. The pool is very nice and they have a huge to die for breakfast. The breakfast even included an omelette maker!!! The lady at the front desk, Anya, was very sweet and personable, and we even got greeted with cookies. The hotel is very close to the highway and there are many shops nearby. Overall, it was a great stay!! i would recommend.

    4
    « Would stay again. »

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel while in town for a wedding. The hotel itself is dated but it was very clean. The suite was very spacious and the location was good. We overlooked the outdoor breakfast area so you could hear people talking in the morning, but it wasn't an issue for us. There isn't much to choose from in area as far as restaurants but with a car, it's not a problem.

« Great little place to stay »

We were in Simi to visit a relative receiving medical care. This was my third time staying at this hotel. I like it for it's location, and I just really like the quaint feel of it. I don't want to forget the breakfast....they offer a great breakfast with fresh omelettes. On the downside, the Elephant Bar is no longer open, and we were kind of counting on that, but there's plenty of food nearby. I am sure I will stay here again.

« Best Western Posada Royale, Simi Valley Royale »

We stayed 4 nights for my daughters wedding and the staff and service we received was outstanding. Everyone was so helpful and friendly! We used one of the conference rooms for a family luncheon and the staff met our every need and request. All our friends and family were extremely pleased with the service and large size of the rooms.

« Most Beautiful Best Western we ever stayed in. »

Great place to stay for a visit to the Regan center. Sign up to be a Loyalty member. Breakfast superb. They go out of their way to please. We arrived late at 1 am they were very accommodating giving us an extra hour to check out. The place is just Beautiful and kept up.

    « First time here »

The Road Captain who setup this route for our HOG Chapter chose this hotel, and I am glad he did. A great place for motorcycles, and riders. A huge parking lot, and a great staging area, well lit at night for bikes. Pool area and jacuzzi are fantastic, in the later part of the day the pool has shade which is great. Rooms are large and clean, well appointed, big giant chairs, great to get geared up for the day. Breakfast has a omelette bar! Not my thing, but very cool. Excellent and attentive staff.

« Nicely dated, clean, and OH! What a BREAKFAST! »

We stayed here after visiting the Reagan library and got two rooms here right next to each other. We arrived early (about 10:30am) and were too early to check in, but we were allowed to leave two styro coolers of food at the hotel while we visited the library. Very nice reception, quick to please. The trip to the library took about 10 minutes. Our rooms were on the first floor. While there were hints of the date of the building, the rooms were nicely updated with modern bath fixtures, flat screen TV, and plenty of places to plug in electronics. The shower head was wonderful, the water hot, and the A/C was "central" with a thermostat on the wall. The pool was nice looking and clean, although we didn't jump in because it was quite crowded. The real star of our stay was the breakfast. I've eaten lots of hotel breakfasts while traveling on business and this one is, by a wide margin, the nicest included breakfast I've ever had. Tons of fresh fruit, a waffle/pancake bar, fresh eggs and meats and lots of them, juices, great coffee, real utensils and plates, cups, and glasses. No plastic here at all. And there were three, yes three, hostesses cleaning and restocking, and asking patrons if they needed anything. Really, an amazing restaurant in a mid-line hotel. Highly recommended whether you're staying for a night or a week.

    5
« Awesome Place to Stay »

This was a very great place to stay and it meets the states per diem requirements easily if you are traveling for business. The pool and hot tub are extremely relaxing. The internet was fast; I did extensive work while there for software implementation and it stood the test of usage. There was wine served free EVERY night. The rooms are very spacious and relaxing.

    3
« Simi Valley Hotel Stay »

While the staff and management at this hotel are very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself is both extremely outdated and ragged looking. No elevator, hotel lobby has no extras, rooms are very clean but depressing looking.

  • 2
    « Poorly Managed »

Indifferent staff is a direct reflection of their poor leadership. The furniture in our suite was aesthetically displeasing, dirty and gross to the touch. We requested extra bed sheets so that we could place the sheets over the couch and chair. The staff provided the sheets, but were not concerned with the cleanliness of the furniture. Once away from the lobby it was obvious the exterior walkways, stairs, parking lot and landscaping receive very little to no attention. I will not stay here again nor will I recommend to anyone.

    4
« Needed a place to stay for relocating. »

Very nice decor and clean. Pleasant surroundings and good restaurant close by, Blue Fin. The lobby was pleasant and they had wine in the evening and coffee all of the time. Breakfast room was light and airy and they used white tablecloths so the feeling was one of making it more of a place that had an "attention to detail".

    2
« Has seen its day »

I am certain that at some point this hotel was a nice establishment. However, it's seen its day and is past its prime. The rooms are damp and have a stale, sour odor to them. The mattresses lack support and structure...mine is smooshed out of shape. The pool is decent, but small and hadn't been cleaned of leaves nor were the towels restocked despite a relatively fully-booked hotel with several youth and families. We asked for more towels to be delivered for our room (there were three and we had four in our party) and yellowed (originally white) towels were delivered. As far as location, it is extremely close to the Reagan Library and several food establishments and department stores. It is time for Best Western to renovate this property so it can be the premier lodging near the Reagan Library.

    3
« Big room with vaulted ceiling »

Stayed on 2nd floor room has the vaulted ceiling from the angle of the roof. There isn't an elevator at this hotel. Not a big deal for me but something that could be an issue for some people. Our room had a weird smell and the sink drain plug was broken in a closed fashion. Also the door you needed to pull it hard for it to lock automatically. Free breakfast was great. Real plates and silverware plenty of food lots of types of food. We had sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, french toast sticks, and they had an omelet bar with a chef.

    5
« When you visit the Reagan Library »

Outstanding BW property located within 5 minutes of Reagan Library. Breakfast is "over the top" and included in room rate. Staff will do anything for you. Attitude is very customer friendly and accommodating. Stay there.

    5
« Older Hotel but Very Nice »

The hotel is older but well kept. Staff is great and the wine and cheese hour is a nice tough. Breakfast was amazing with a made to order omelet chef. Our only negative was the laurdry was next to our room and was a bit noisy but not hateful.

    5
« Comfortable and Relaxing with Good Location »

Had stayed at other Simi Valley properties in past but was taken by the ambiance and comfort of this Best Western Hotel in Simi Valley. Staff was especially helpful and the full buffett breakfast is not to be missed.

    « Nice Hotel »

Convenient location near freeway and shopping. This was a business trip, hotel was exceptionally close to my workplace. Nice hotel, clean, friendly staff, would stay here again. Did not use breakfast due to work hours but used internet services, worked very well. No problems with anything at this hotel.

    3
« Breakfast Makes Up for the Room »

The room was passable, but very old looking. The paper was peeling from the wall in places and the bathroom left something to be desired. Be advised, there is no elevator at this hotel, and if you have a second floor room, that means carrying everything up the stairs. That said, the breakfast was wonderful - maybe to help make up for the condition of the rooms. They had a chef who made the most delicious omelet.

    2
« Best Western Simi Valley »

« Great place to lay my head »

We stayed at this hotel on the way to a wine tasting trip, in order to break up our long drive. We looked at a number of hotels, wanting one with a good reputation, but not too expensive. This wasn't our ultimate destination; rather a pit stop. The hotel was clean, easy to find. They even had wine and cheese in the lobby when we arrived. The perfect way to end our day, and get us ready for the rest of our trip!

    4
    « Excellent breakfast. »

Excellent breakfast and a superior room on the first floor. Quiet. The only problem of consequence was a glitch at check-in. We arrived earlier than the 3 PM check-in time, and were told the room was not ready. We left for something to eat, returning over an hour later. It was past 3 but we were told the room was still not ready, so waited in the lobby. After a half hour we noticed that newcomers were being given rooms and we had still not been called. After the fourth such newcomer was served, my wife asked the desk what was happening. Apparently they had forgotten us, apologized, and found a room shortly after that. They did provide compensation, however.

« Spacious room but dated »

We came over from the UK to visit family and we booked the Best Western as it seemed cheap but cheerful. We were greeted with a free glass of wine which was nice. We moved up to our King suite with our children and we had booked for four people. It was late and we had been travelling most of the day and noted that one of the beds was a sofa bed so we pulled it out and it was broken. We reported the issue to reception who sent a maintenance man promptly who informed us he couldn't fix it and he had checked the other available suite and theirs was broken too. We asked to be upgraded but was told that as the manager wasn't available until the next morning the most they could do was provide a single temporary bed. Our 12 year old slept on that and my four year old on the broken sofa bed. We spoke with the manager the next morning who already had a 2 X queen room available and knocked 50% off the bill. We were disappointed the first night but the manager made up for it the following day. The rooms were spacious, if a little dated but ok for a couple of nights.

« Great Location Near the Reagan Library »

Great location north of LA. The scenery is beautiful and tranquil. It's also located near 6 Flags. The hotel was clean and the rooms are spacious. The breakfast was the best amenity. The hotel is also close to restaurants and shopping areas. The only caveat is that the hotel is a bit outdated, but it's not truly and issue. I would definitely stay here again.

    3
    « Convenient with Friendly/Helpful Staff »

This is your typical old-style BW. It is dated and needs an a serious upgrade but the staff is excellent. The suites are well worth the couple of extra dollars although the in-room spa is hard to use. BEWARE - no elevator to 2nd floor where there are additional steps, but they will help with suitcases if asked. Made to order Breakfast was the best we have had in this level property. Very convenient to Reagan Library and local restaurants. AC is good but noisy although white noise is useful with single pane windows.

    « Great Stay »

    « SIMI VALLEY ON A BUDGET »

I found this hotel online. I was bringing the family with me for a small vacation and I did not want to spend hundreds a night on a place to sleep. Found this hotel in SIMI VALLEY. Under $130 per night, nice CLEAN ROOMS, Swimming pool, nice HOT breakfast in the morning and a gym. Staff was great. Room was cleaned everyday. Close to EVERYTHING LA has to offer. Right up the road from REGAN LIBRARY. Great little place you will not go wrong.

« Excellent breakfast and good room »

The hotel is conveniently located and the room was okay. One thing I didn't like about the room was the extremely strong scent of cleaning chemicals upon opening the door. Also, the way the shelves are situated about the mini-fridge, you need to be a bit careful of hitting your head. The best part was the breakfast buffet. The dining area is large and the made to order omelette was great. They also have sausage, yogurt, oatmeal, and fruit. It was more like restaurant dining, but still self serve, than a cafeteria.

looks very nice, people were friendly. I liked the wine in the evening after a day like we had. the shower head is fit for someone 6 ft or taller. at 5'2 I couldn't get out from under it. the break fast was good and we sat with some people we didn't know due to space constrants. no elevator which makes it difficult. but all in all a good stay at a nice rate.

We chose the BW Posada Royale Hotel and Suites as the place to stay while we visited the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. And, I highly recommend this Hotel. Our King Suite was large, comfortable, clean and worth the money spent. Breakfast is served in the mornings with a wonderful selection of hot foods.. and made to order eggs. It's location to the Library is very close with minimal traffic. A grocery store is also close should you choose to have snacks in the room which has a fridge and microwave. We stayed 2 nights and used both the fridge and microwave. I highly recommend this BW.

« What a GREAT place to stay! »

I had to stay for business purposes...they made me feel so comfortable and well cared for. It was like a home away from home. The night staff are fun and love to visit with you...sometimes you need to be able to hang out a little. They were AWESOME! The hotel was clean and comfortable and my room was clean and cozy. I LOVED my stay and will come back again!

« The best best western I've seen »

The entryway is very lovely, coffee and tea is always available, and the check-in attendant was extremely friendly and accommodating. Our room was non-smoking, but when we got in it it had a strong smoke smell. The front desk offered to move us, though we stayed anyway. The bed was comfy. Unfortunately we had an adjoining room, so the sound does come through from the guest room on the other side - light sleepers should request no adjoining rooms. The breakfast was phenomenal - I didn't have it but my husband raved about it. There was an omelette station with a chef, and lots of options.

« Great place to stay »

Enjoyed the 4 night stay. Great breakfast in mornings. Fairly close to places we came to visit. Price was reasonable for our group. Front desk people were exceptional in attitude and helpfulness. Everything around the hotel was nicely kept.

    « Great stay »

Comfortable room, great breakfast, great staff. The breakfast cook was exceptional and the staff treated me as a personal friend. The hotel was quiet. It was located near all the places that we were interested in seeing and going.

« Nice place to stay in Simi Valley »

Always a great place to stay. Clean and nice breakfast. Coffee and tea in the lobby. Restrooms in the lobby. Pool looks nice. Close to many attractions - Reagan Library, beach is bout 20 minutes away. Needs a restaurant on the premise.

« This how I like a hotel to be »

Everything was good. The room was big, the location quiet. The internet was fast. I could not think of any complaints on this hotel. When I needed an extra hour to exit, they were very agreeable The hotel location was near a really hip mall. Try the cafe's there. The food is great.

    « Great find! »

This lace hit the spot. We were looking for a clean, safe, comfortable, good value close to the Reagan Library. This place hit on all cylinders. I read the Yelp and Trip Advisor reviews before booking and then booked, based in very large part to the reviews. I was not disappointed. In fact, we were planning one night but decided to stay a second night to enjoy the facility rather than driving to LA for our next night in a hotel on this SoCal trip.

    « A real let down. »

I have previously reviews this hotel as excellent, how times have changed.... So, so disappointing. I have stayed in this hotel many times over the years and although its prices are high for the area, the staff have always been accommodating and the rooms have been clean and to a high standard and the hotel, generally quiet and pleasant....Not anymore. We booked our room two months ago, with a request to have a second floor room with balcony. This was for nice evenings on the balcony and my partner, who is a doctor, was attending a nearby work event and needed the quiet of a second floor room, with reasons I'll list below. When we originally contacted the hotel direct to book, we were told no rooms available. Then when we went to a hotel comparison site, the rooms we wanted were suddenly available! Why calling the hotel direct puts a customer at a disadvantage, I have no idea, but it's bad business. When we arrived to check in we were told that we would be on the ground floor with no balcony. Although they acknowledged we had requested second floor balcony they said there were none. Silly me thought two months advance booking with an acknowledged email would secure a room we requested. No biggie as half the hotels rooms are on the second floor. Then a second member of staff said there was one. Great! When we got up there it was a dark room with no balcony and as an added extra bonus, no running bath or shower water. So we had to go back to reception and accept the first floor room. We asked if we could upgrade and pay more to get a room we wanted and it suddenly became available but, "because you're staying here for a week you'll have to swap rooms again in 2 days". So that would be four room moves in 3 days... Er no thanks. The ground floor room was also dark and smelled musty, a little grungy and unclean. The bath looked as though it had been painted and the paint was peeling off in large chunks. Also, as feared, there was constant footfall both outside the room as people came and went and hung around, from people in the rooms above, as well car coming and going.....ALL NIGHT. Needless to say no sleep was had. Breakfast was a joke. Reheated sloppy seconds. We went for fruit, because what little choice there was, was lukewarm and sub standard. Staff made no eye contact and grunted any responses. In an effort to get some resolution I emailed the manager direct to explain the situation and ask for help. I received no reply. We checked out the next day and gave the cash to another hotel for the remaining days' stay. The contrast was stark. A little customer service goes a long way, the new hotel room was cheaper and we received everything we requested, which were minimal asks. It's such a shame because the Posada Royale was such a nice relaxing hotel and standards seem to have slipped since my last visit, drastically! The only bright spot was the young guy on reception called Kyle. He was polite, talkative and friendly and made our early check out easy. Maybe you should make him the manager. Will never return here again and I'm really sad about that, as it was my favorite hotel in Simi Valley. I really begrudged paying the bill for what was basically a motel stay.

« Best Western Simi Valley, CA »

If you are heading to Reagan Library, this is a great location to stay. Breakfast included as usual and rooms and grounds are in excellent condition. The staff is very helpful. I plan to stay here again the next anytime I am in this area. You will not be dissappointed.

« The best place to stay in Simi Valley »

Smiling faces, comfortable beds, excellent banquet facilities, delicious breakfast and first class service. I live and work in Simi Valley, and The Best Western Posada Royale is where my clients, friends and family always stay, when they come to town. I have also had my annual client appreciation luncheon, and my son's wedding at this venue. I never had to worry about a thing. They continue to exceed my every expectation

« Only thing to recommend is breakfast »

I haven't stayed in a hotel this old since I was about 30. And that was a long time ago.Old rooms, old linens, old lumpy pillows and old gold blankets. The fellow at the front desk is the next reason to recommend but the short heavier gal not so much. Kind of rude and abrupt. The room did appear to be clean which is of utmost importance. Cook to order omelets and fresh fruit. Even papaya some days. But old, did I say old already? They plan to replace furniture but if they don'the gut and reconstruct the bathrooms will still be old and very small. Stayed for business so didn'the see the bill, but I hope it was low.

    « Great Service »

This Best Western has the best Customer Service in the Simi Valley area. They have cheese and wine at night, for free. The egg chef in the morning is a very nice touch. The pool is very relaxing. Best Hotel in this neck of the woods.

    « A 70's style Courtyard style motel. »

The motel has a nice exterior and the common areas are good. It is set-up like the old style motels with rooms set-up around the outside of the motel and a center section with a small pool, hot tub and sitting area. Rooms are on 2 levels and accessible from the outside. The rooms are very old and appear to have not been refurbished for many years. Tub with shower in small bathroom. Dorm room style frig, coffee maker and little mini kitchen (microwave). Work desk and free usable internet was nice. Breakfast buffet was very good with a nice selection of fruit, a omelet making station and chef, French Toast or Waffles with sausage, cereal, pastries and bread. A nice item to have included in room. Not sure if this is available to all reservations but many took advantage of it. Tickets given at check-in. Location is convienient to Reagan library. But for $150+ per night expected more.

    « Excellent, cheerful hotel »

Great hotel in the pretty west side of Simi Valley. The rooms are cheerful. The staff is very friendly and kind. Great big-plate breakfasts. This hotel has none of the cold impersonal air and reluctance to take time with the guest that you find in many high priced hotels.

« A Nice Basic Hotel with Breakfast »

This hotel is exactly what it advertises. A nice basic hotel without bells and whistles. We stayed for 4 nights and never had a problem. Some of the decor is a little dated but everything was clean. For the price per night, it is great. Not to mention, if you are traveling with kids it has a great breakfast buffet that is included in the cost of the room. The staff is friendly and had no issues at all.

    5
    « Nice Place »

My husband had to take a test for work. We wanted to stay in the town close to test center. Staff gave us a good rate and upgraded our room as they ran out of the room we wanted at time of reservation. The staff was very friendly and acomodating.

« Stay for Nearby Wedding »

Staff is friendly and helpful. Knowledgeable about the area. Room was basic but comfortable. Free internet worked well, but can be slow. Breakfast was very good with an Omelet station, potatoes, sausage, pancakes. Cereals, pastries, fruit, and yogurts were also available. Check in and check out were smooth and quick.

Omelette bar! Wine and cheese! So much to love about this hotel. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Also, very close to the Reagan Library which we thoroughly enjoyed seeing. It is a MUST see. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Pool was wonderful too

« Only one piece of advice »

The staff and breakfast was excellent. The coffer was out of this world - very yummy! The room was very clean. The only thing I would suggest is the room needed some painting and the beds were a little soft.

    5
    « Wonderful Hotel »

This is a wonderful hotel and we chose it as it happened to be the closest hotel to the Reagan Library. The staff is very professional and they were very attentive to our needs as we are seniors. Among the extras we were treated to, was a wine reception which is provided Monday to Thursday evenings and a beautiful breakfast the next morning. They have a chef who cooked special omelets for us and all of the guests in the breakfast room. We will return to this gem the next time we visit Simi Valley.

    5
« Great place to stay »

Attractive centrally located hotel. Caring staff and clean rooms. The rooms are very nicely decorated and had all the amenities you might need. The complimentary breakfast was a real bonus and was very good. Checking in and out was quick and everything was as nice as in a more expensive hotel. We will definitely be back.

    4
« Nice Hotel, Friendly Staff »

Helpful friendly staff, nice breakfast. Older hotel but rooms are lovely and my King room had a balcony with pool view.. There are many stores and restaurants nearby. TV didn't have any on-demand services and I couldn't locate an in-room check-out menu on the television but these are minor things.

    4
    « Comfortable »

I stay at this hotel for one night. The hotel room is a little outdated but the bed was very comfortable and clean. I would stay here again if I'm in the area. They had free breakfast which I didnt use. The staff at check in and check out were very friendly.

« Visit to the Reagan Library - "Vatican Splendors" Exhibit »

This hotel, while not luxurious, is well situated for visiting the Reagan Library. The rooms are comfortable; the TV is good with a remote that is understandable! (the movies for rent are awfully expensive though); the breakfast served is pretty good (probably really good if you are an egg eater as they prepare "as ordered" omelettes) - wished they had yogurt available. Not too long a drive to the Oaks shopping center in Thousand Oaks - great mall (mostly indoor, but there is an outdoor "wing" as well) - has the best Nordstrom I've been in!

    1
« Worst stay at a Best Western »

We were in town to visit the Reagan Library. Booked the Best Western Simi Valley based on other reviews. What a mistake. Old hotel with tired rooms. There was a film crew there filming something - staff would not tell us - very disruptive - no access to pool, generators running in front of rooms, lobby staff rude and uncaring about guest experience. Awful, awful. Pick another place.....blood stains on stairway, etc

    3
    « Disappointing Stay.... »

Very mediocre and "tired" hotel. Many, many issues included: trouble with getting hot water and weak water pressure in faucet sink in bathroom, couldn't use balcony with room due to lots of noise from an ice machine, couldn't access the fitness room with my room key but after I looked through the door - it didn't look worth it; outside pool looked dirty as did its deck (leaves etc - didn't look too inviting); there was an odor in room (like musty etc); no elevator; maid left their big cart in hallway every night near my room. Positives: Cheap corporate rate, incredible free breakfast large selection and an omelette station, friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, nice shower with plenty of hot water and pressure; good maid service (I was there 4 nights); free wine & cheese and cookies very evening; great location; nice and clean /fancy lobby and grounds; convenient parking. Overall though - the negatives outweighed the positives and I would not stay at this hotel without some renovations and improvements to the property.

« Great Staff and Facilities »

Easy to do business with the staff- Very accommodating. Comfortable place to hold a small party for friends and family. Food is good. But the selling point for me is the great service from the wonderful staff.

    « Needs updating »

Room had a very musty order. You could tell everything was old. The staff was very friendly, kind and helpful. Breakfast was great. Lots of food even though we didn't go down for breakfast until 9am. Overall our stay was good.

    « Excellent breakfast included »

This hotel has some of the friendliest and exceptional staff we've ever met. Every staff member we came across was very professional and helpful in every way. The breakfast (included with the room cost) had a lot of choices, such as made-to-order omelettes, sausage, waffles, yogurt bar, oatmeal bar, rolls, cereals, orange/apple juices, coffee, etc. It's very close to the Ronald Reagan Library. The lobby, breakfast area, pool areas are exactly as they're pictured on the website. Our room was very clean, but it did feel a bit more dated than the photo on the website and rather dark, even with all the lights on. We were on the 2nd floor facing the very back parking lot, and it felt more like a motel where you park the car, go up an external stairway and walk to the external door to your room. Anyone could walk by your window and see in, so it might be better if you ask for a room within the hotel which has the interior hallway. Tip: they have a laundry room; the front desk has quarters and Tide detergent you can purchase. We were midway through a road trip so this was great. We could not find the laundry room and FYI it is on the 2nd floor facing the back parking lot right next to the back stairway.

    « Family Wedding Weekend »

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Simi Valley Best Western while attending a family wedding. We stayed in room 223. The accommodations were generous in size, clean and modern. We loved being close to the pool and spa. We appreciated the delicious morning breakfast, complimentary coffee all day and shuttles to local places. The hotel allowed us to use the public lobby to visit with relatives and hang by the pool (quietly) after hours. The staff was pleasant and very accommodating from booking through room service.

« We liked this place! »

Okay, it had been 14 years since we stayed at Best Westerns and had a string of some not so great experiences then. We rolled the dice on this one and are glad we did. The room was very tastefully decorated and we appreciated the mini fridge. Beds and pillows were comfortable. We noted many staff working at sweeping and vacuuming and keeping the public spaces clean and tidy. We attended a presentation being held at the hotel and the room (equipment, chairs) was well-equipped. This location tries very hard (and is successful) at keeping itself prim and a cut above average.

« Great place to stay »

If you need an overnight stay associated with a visit to the Ronald Reagan Library you can't do better than to stay here. Best breakfast buffet I've encountered at a Best Western. This facility offers a great overall value. I'd stay here again in a minute. I missed out on the wine tasting in the lobby, need to check that out next time.

    « Nice get away »

This was a very nice 2 night stay at a hotel very close to the Reagan Library which was our reason for coming to Simi Valley. The stay was very nice. Rooms were clean, quiet and in the back as requested. The air conditioning worked well as did all appliances and electronics in the room. Didn't have a chance to go into the pool or jacuzzi but they looked very clean. Nice touch was the wine and cheese time from 6-8PM with cookies too! Our bathroom was small but clean however the paint was peeling in the shower and the faucet dripped at night. The staff was very very friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast buffet was awesome. Difficult to access the internet at times maybe because of all the younger kids staying there at the time. Glad I waited to get the discount price because the stated price in the room on the back of the door was $200 a night. Not worth that price but we got it for almost half of that and that makes it worth the stay.

    4
« Very well located down the hill from Reagan Library. »

Beautiful hotel. Excellent coffee great breakfast. Stayed first time must have got special weekend rate. This week the price increased greatly. They did tell us that there were only two rooms available and otherwise mostly sold out. Nice hotels and better rates down the hill toward Los Angeles. So no great loss. It was lovely for the price but not worth the price increase.

« Start your day here with a five star breakfast! »

We have traveled the world and it is rare to find a chain hotel with such a fantastic breakfast! Even though early events prevented us from eating breakfast 2 of the days, we came back because of our last experience which was so positive. You will find the front desk staff attentive, friendly and engaging. Your room is made up every day as if it is the first day of your stay. Clean and comfortable. A nice pool which is also kept clean. Over all we vote this Best Western's best kept secret! Even though there was a change in management this past year they chose to keep the features that make them an outstanding place to stay - a great value for your money. And, a little bird told me that more upgrades are coming soon! Enjoy your stay!

    « Sue's stay in Simi Valley. »

We were really surprised how nice this hotel was! Lots of attention to detail with the landscaping and care of the facility. Coffee and cookies in the lobby. A great breakfast with omelettes cooked to order. Great pool and spa for family fun. Minutes from the Reagan Presidential Library.

« Visiting family in California »

Stayed her for 4 nights whilst visiting family in Simi. Great small hotel with a fantastic pool that got the sun all day, most days we had the pool to ourselves from 4pm to 6pm for some down time. Ideally located for Simi and trips to LA, Malibu and local outlet centres. Breakfast was good with loads of fresh fruit, omelettes and cooked food. Just along from Target for snacks etc, will be staying again next year when we return to LA

    « Good Pick - Simi Valley »

First time I stayed here but the visit turned out nice. This hotel is about a mile from the 118 freeway, which is good. It is a fairly quiet location. The staff was very friendly. Pretty & large lobby area with seating and a wine reception in the evening. Looked like a nice large pool area with chairs and tables. The room was great but they had upgraded me to a suite that had a separate bedroom and 2 bathrooms! You can walk to a shopping center (Target) that had some restaurants (The Habit, Subway, etc.). Otherwise, just 3 blocks to Chili's, a couple fast food places, Walmart, BevMo, Home Depot, and Costco. I don't think they are pet friendly if you are looking. You have to go to Camarillo's Best Western which is a good hotel also but a little more basic. The restaurant next door, The Elephant Bar, was closed a couple years ago.

    « Very nice »

We stayed here during our family vacation in the Los Angeles area. While it was a bit of a drive away from Hollywood/L.A., in my opinion it was totally worth it. Simi Valley has beautiful scenery and it was quiet, away from all the hustle and bustle. The rooms were a decent size with a fridge, microwave and soft comfortable beds. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the morning breakfast was outstanding. The value for what you receive here totally made it worth the drive back from Hollywood each night. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

    3
« Great budget hotel but no lifts »

We visited this hotel on our arrival into LA as it was close to our destination the next day. The hotel is clearly older, with outside access to room corridors. There are No lifts, so you'll have to carry your bags up the stairs. Reception were very friendly, room was clean and the inclusive omelettes for breakfast in the morning were delicious. I would stay again if I needed a hotel in this part of California.

    « OUTSTANDING STAY »

I don't know how anyone could have a bad stay here Cook to order eggs or omelets Hot tub and heated pool pancakes and or French toast sausage or bacon business center with printing We han awesome stay maybe we paid 20.00 higher than other places but it was worth it 100% Staff were great too and that make a huge difference to me

« While it is older we had a pleasant stay »

Not the most modern but very nicely maintained hotel. Pool area and surrounding landscaping are full of flowers and neat. Parking lot is plenty and easy reach from rooms. All employees we had contact with were very pleasant and helpful. What was the very best and surprising the breakfast. Better then we had seen for a very long tome. Made to order eggs and omelette. Yogurt, fruit, etc all there. Table service by a few servers for coffee, water juice. Spotless clean. All around it was a nice stay. We would stay again.

    5
    « great choice »

Friendly and helpful staff?..very clean property??great breakfast including made to order omelets. We would stay again without a doubt! The only downsides were the absence of elevators and noise at the pool late at night.

    « Nice older hotel »

Stayed here on Sunday night before we went to the Regan Museum on Monday. The lady at the front desk said that they had been there for over 30 years. Convenient to anything that you needed to get to or if you needed anything you forgot. The room needs a little tlc in the bathroom, you could tell where the grout had separated from the bathtub and other places. Over all it was a nice room, spacious with a little "bar area" that held the refrigerator. The breakfast was okay, they had given us a "coupon" at check in that you had to place in a bowl when you came in for breakfast. Most places that have continental breakfasts don't make you go through that hassle of remembering the coupon. If you like make to order omelets, than you'll like that they do this for the customers. One big drawback was no elevator with 2 floors. We asked why they didn't have one put in after it was built and the lady at the front desk said that all their handicapped rooms are on the first floor and they were an older hotel so they were probably "grandfathered" in with the handicap rooms only on the 1st floor. It was too cool to swim in the pool, but it looked like a nice one if the weather was warmer.

« Returned with bed bugs »

Listen, I don't take these freakin things lightly since I've been fighting with this issue since October now. This place provided not just a mediocre place to stay but visitors upon our return. INDEED Bedbugs! It's going to cost just under $2,000 to get these things out from our home properly since nothing we've done (i.e. home remedies/sprays) have solved the issue. I agree the room we stayed in was a bit dirty and the garbage disposal had rotten sewage smell every time we ran the water. I am so, so tired of fighting this problem and how can I prove it was their hotel other than the rather dismal conditions of the room I don't know but it was them/their hotel. If I had warning about this issue I would have avoided this thing like a 21st century plague it is. I am disgusted by this and embarassed to bring anyone in my home for fear of them bringing visitors home themselves. I feel dirty and can't afford what needs to be done to my home in order to get this taken care of. Please, please beware when reserving your rooms here. This is my home town and I wouldn't say these things if it weren't true.

    « Nicest BW ever »

This hotel was clean, well managed, and convenient for the Reagan Library. The evening wine and cheese in the lobby was a great way to meet other guests, and the morning breakfast, with an omelette chef, spoiled us for most hotel offerings.

this hotel is amazing. The staff is wonderful. Will stay again when offered to travel here. The breakfast is awesome. Monday-Friday they offer free wine, cheese, grapes and crackers. Everyone was so pleasant and didn't mind printing directions as needed and suggesting restaurants, beaches, etc. Again, great hotel.

    « near Reagan museum »

Stayed one night after visiting Reagan library. Extremely convenient to the library. Fair price, very clean and comfortable. Staff was great. Breakfast was best I ever had in a motel. Sausage, potatoes, omelettes to order. 5 stars!

« Great location but not my favorite hotel. »

The lobby is beautiful but the rest of the property is a little run down. I was in room 147, which is the last room on the hallway, facing into the parking area, and the door to the parking area was removed from the hinges, offering no protection whatsoever. The room door didn't latch without pulling it closed everyday.

    3
« Close to the Reagan Presidential Library »

The hotel is close to the Reagan Presidential Library, Clean and dependable for an older hotel. It provides a great breakfast and coffee all day. The area is quiet and secure. Shopping and eating establishments are about a mile away.

    4
    « No Elevator? »

I was going to a conference at the Reagan Library which started at 7:30 a.m., so this was an obvious choice. The price was reasonable at $116 with AAA discount. The Good: outstanding breakfast buffet with made-to-order omelettes, very nice wine reception in the evening, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, HDTV, and hair dryer in the bedroom. The Bad: no elevator for this two-story hotel! Also, it was a little noisy. The Ugly: bedding and decor were OK, although the ultra-white paint in the bathroom is a bit stark and there are some rundown areas in the room and the hotel. All in all, a good value for the price.

    3
« Great staff and location, dated property »

The staff is wonderful and the hotel is well located for visits to the Reagan Library. However, the property is in serious need of renovation and the bedding is poor quality. The staff was so helpful and friendly that I hesitate to post such a poor review of the property.

    « Outstanding Facility »

Our first stay at the BW Posada Royale was outstanding. Beautiful and spacious NON smoking/handicapped rooms with lots of comfort and easy access. On the house breakfast was prepared by very professional chefs and attendants. Desk clerks were awesome and engaging in conversation....not hurried and arrogant as happens at some motels. Only minor negative: beds were TOO soft for us, but we are accustomed to harder mattresses.

    5
    « Welcoming Hotel & Staff »

BW Posada Royale was a great experience from the easy to find site, welcoming staff, clean and spacious lobby. The amenities were easy to find, close to all rooms with the square courtyard setting, very wide ranging breakfast with full omelette service.

« It is all good, all good! »

We stayed one night for business and also took in the Reagan Library. It was just one mile from both so it was a perfect location. Front desk people were great. Breakfast was great, the omelette bar makes it a step above the other free breakfast hotels. We even took advantage of a wine and cheese reception in the lobby that evening. A nice little touch. Sure it is a bit dated, but they have taken good care. The rooms are larger so a family could fit in a room with two queens without being right on top of each other. The beds were comfy too,. The pool area is awesome, kids would enjoy it. Sure this place is not brand new, but they are keeping it clean. I guess not having an elevator is going to be a problem for those who don't want to lug their luggage upstairs but I heard the front desk person offer to carry it and I am sure they would be more than happy to do that both in and out. I would definitely come back. My only critique is that they should definitely replace the couches and chairs in the lobby. Just to keep that as nice as possible.

    « Simple no frills »

If you just need a place to crash at a reasonable price, this is it. My husband and I needed to travel to Simi to help my mom, and I just needed a clean place to crash. Easy check in, easy check out. Towels were kind of thin, so I'll bring my own next time, but not really a big deal. You will need to bring your own shampoo, cream rinse & lotion. They only provide soap. :-)

« Will NEVER stay here again!! »

I had a horrible experience staying at this hotel, I was there in town for a private family tragedy and was not in the best mood obviously and there was a huge wedding party up all night through the hall I was staying in, completely drunk, loud, smoking in the hotel. And then about 1am some guy who claimed he worked there kicked me and my guests out because he thought the smoke was coming from our room, even though only 3 doors down you could smell the smoke from the obnoxious wedding party, glad we took the brunt for the loud party, he also threatened me and insulted me, I have never been so humilated in my life, also the "manager" who I think ended up not knowing what to say to me never called me back, but I called thier corporate office and got a full refund but it still didnt save me from frustration and embarassment of trying to find a place at 1am. Still have never received a call back and this was back in October of 2015.

« Older hotel converted to Best Western »

We were looking for a reasonably priced one night stay prior to visiting the Reagan Library. While it is true that the breakfasts are good, this is an old hotel and shows it. Our room was clean but had a bit of a musty and Lysol. OK if there is nothing else affordable in area, but not great by any means.

    3
« Close to Reagan Library »

Acceptable, works because it is so close to Reagan Library. Seems to be a Best Western conversion of some older chain motel, lots of subtle reminders that is IS OLD., but they seem to be working on it. Not sure if there are any draws to this place besides the Library, so market may be limited.Carpet baseboards unglued, some old wooden baseboards badly scratched, notches in old mirrors for brackets, lots of scratches/mars in very thin paint, but seems very clean.

    « Best BW we've been to »

We're regular BW customers and have stayed at this one several times, agreeing it's probably the best. Only detriment is that there's no elevator if lots of luggage or disability. The breakast is cooked to order and this time by a cozy fireplace. (Pool is good in-season too.) We enjoyed a wine reception by the fire and wonderful cookies in the evening. Easy to find, restaurants close by (although must drive), shopping center nearby, and Reagan Library is a short distance. This is a favorite when navigating around LA for points north.

    « Great Stay! »

Best breakfast in town! Homemade omelets were the bonb and the kids enjoyed the cinnamon rolls and fruit. Beds were comfy. Clean with decent shampoo and soap. Nice end unit by parking lot was nice and quiet. Highly recommend.

    « Very Good »

We stayed one night at this hotel, we were there to visit the Reagan Library. Hotel is old but pretty well taken care of, wonderful staff and wonderful breakfast. Rooms were clean and beds were pretty comfy, internet worked well too.

    « Clean, nice breakfast. »

Stayed one night. Room was clean and comfortable. The hotel pool and patio area was very nice. The room and hotel could use some updating and attention to detail. Rust on the mini fridge and towel holder in the bathroom. The exterior looks tired. It was what I would expect from a Best Western. It wouldn't take much to make this a very nice hotel. One plus is there is a Target very close.

« Visit to the Reagan Library »

All in all a nice stay at a nice facility. Happy with the room, the breakfast and the staff. Only complaint is I think that I got ripped off on a rate for an additional nights stay. Had booked a one night stay at $89 plus tax and after checking in decided that we would spend another night. The desk claimed that they were pretty well booked for the next night and the rate would be $159 plus tax. In the morning the hotel was NOT very full. I guess they took advantage of us. So if you are planning on staying for whatever length of time, get the rate you want booked.

    « Rooms Need Update »

This hotel looks better on the outside than the rooms represent on the inside. The rooms desperately need updating. My biggest annoyance was the heating system was so loud I had to sleep with noise cancelling earphones on. The rooms are good sized and have a microwave and wet bar area which is nice to have.

« A nice place close to LA »

I did stay at this hotel for 7 days for a training and I was very happy with the overall experience. The Staff is great. The location was not perfect but not bad also. The overall appearance of the hotel is a little bit old but I saw that there were doing a lot of remodeling so it may look better sometime in the future. I would definitely go back to the same hotel if I'm in the area.

    5
    « Wonderful »

This hotel is perfect for us. The price is good and the breakfast is included and it is phenomenal-from the gentleman at the omelet station to all the waitresses who are so attentive. The rooms are clean and fresh-smelling and the desk personnel are prompt and friendly. We love it and we stay there every year.

    « Excellent »

The carpets in the rooms need renovation, but other than that, the hotel is in very good condition. Exceptional value for the money, and everything about the hotel was pleasant. Odd that this is not a Best Western "Plus," as it is superior to others that carry that designation. No elevator to the second floor; is that one the reasons it is not a "Plus?" In any case, would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Amenities include a far nicer breakfast than other Best Westerns, excellent wireless internet connection, and a hot tub (did not use).

    4
    « Nice place - fair price »

It is a nice place, but not beautiful. If you want perfect, stay someplace else. It is nice, with good ammenities and service. The rooms have microwave and fridge which I really like. There is a workout room and a nice pool. Breakfast with onlette station is included. A very good value for business travel

« Lot of value for the price »

We were going to the Ronald Reagan Library and wanted something close and inexpensive for the night. I booked this hotel after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and finding most of them to be positive. The staff greeted us in a very welcoming manner and informed us of the complimentary wine and cheese by the open fireplace. The rooms were quite large and the beds were comfortable. The included breakfast is a step up from most hotels in this price range as the custom made omelets were delicious. This hotel is scheduled for an update soon, but we had no complaints as the hotel met our needs perfectly.

    « Great hotel »

Comfy suite.... easy parking next to room. .... room was clean and included frig, micro wave, and coffee maker....close to the Ronald Regan Library. Breakfast was good. Included omlets, fried eggs, hash browns , yogart, .... and much more....

The hotel was okay. Did not care for the rooms. Had to change rooms because the heater did not work. The heater in the second room was loud and no hot water in the bathroom sink. The staff was great. For the money would not stay there again.

One of best hotels for the money! Highly recommended. Great staff. Great Breakfast. Excellent all the way around!!!! I have stayed in many hotels. This by far is the best yet. No complaints whatsoever. Big value! Very Very Happy. Will be returning when in the LA area.

« Comfortable stopover; courteous staff »

We were staying over for 1 night. the front office staff were very friendly and took care of all our needs. The business center was functional and worked well. Rooms were clean, nothing extravagant Breakfast could be better. the standard fare, pastries, cereal, some juice - etc. nothing stood out.

    « Home for Holidays - 2 1/2 Weeks Dec & Jan »

Highly recommend. Attractive landscaping & Spanish style architecture. Pretty courtyard with pool & hot whirlpool. Staff excellent and very friendly. Rooms traditional French country style decor. Some faded paint & cracks but didn't bother me. First had large vaulted ceiling room near lobby, but the traffic noise was too much for me. Room 222 in the very back was very quiet. Screened window. Looked through large Cyprus trees. Breakfast. Made to order eggs every morning. Fantastic. Wine & cheese 6 to 8. I felt very comfortable and will return again if I need lodging Simi Valley.

VERY clean, large suite. Quiet, too -- away from heavy traffic and business noise. All of the staff was friendly and ready to help with any question or need. I wish all hotels were this cheerful, clean and friendly!

« Good Overall Hotel with Delightful Breakfast »

I stayed here on 12/17/15 and found the hotel to be comfortable and quiet. I would recommend it. Our room was nice and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was included and it was "made to order" omelets and more. This is better than most budget hotels, since they are willing to cook anything for you that you request. Total for one night with tax was: $126.00

« Beautiful Old Sprawling Facility! »

When we first arrived and saw the beautiful front lobby with it's sprawling staircase and large fire place....we thought...we have arrived. After climbing up stairs to our room, which was located on the 2nd floor...opened the door...we were not so impressed...very dated, but we gave it a chance and are very happy that we did! The room was clean, beds were comfortable, and breakfast was great! Very friendly staff throughout the facility, and it's located in a great place. We visited the Getty Center and the Ronald Reagan Library, it was easy to get to! Free wifi, parking, social night on Mondays, and breakfast. We'd stay here again. It was worth the price for a Best Western.

    « Not such a Merry Christmas »

Recently my mother and father in law stayed for 5 nights over the Christmas holidays. We had a full house with much family and so they opted to spend the money to stay in a hotel room. On their last day here two of their Christmas gifts went missing from their room. When they discovered it the next day they called the hotel and were told that it was not the hotel's responsibility. So BEWARE if you think when you spend $100 plus dollars a night and have a lock on your door that your personal belongings are safe. And if you think the management care, think again. Shame on you Best Western.

    « Nice Hotel - Needs Updating »

This hotel is located in Ventura County, near Los Angeles, Santa Barbara; a little out of the L.A. hassles. The exterior of the hotel was nice with colored spotlights and Christmas decorations in the front. The lobby was attractive with the burning fireplace and large Christmas tree. Our room was comfortable, but needed updating. Wallpaper peeled a little at seems, the heater fan was loud and sounded like it was dying during our visit. It did die on the morning we left. The bath tub looked like it was installed in the early 80's and had been touched up with paint - not a good look. The room's carpet needed vacuuming when we arrived and it took 3 days of asking for that to happen. We were there during Christmas, so staff levels may have been reduced. The breakfast was good with an egg bar that featured omelets made as you liked. There were daily opportunities to drink complimentary wines in the early evenings, but I didn't partake in those. I would stay there again given the reasonable room rate and breakfast bar. Overall, I would recommend it.

    3
    « Not Bad »

This place is definitely not a high end hotel, but it's not bad for a night. It's an older two story hotel with no elevator. It's shape like a square, with a pool in the middle. Beware of the rooms in the back; the doors on the ground floor open to the parking lot, and it's like a dark alley back there....seems creepy. When we arrived in our room in November, the room was 52 degrees and smelled strongly of carpet cleaner (which always makes me think someone threw up). We opened the windows and left for a few hours and the smell dissipated. The price of the hotel includes free breakfast, and it was good. The guy at the omelet bar was rude, however. He snapped at my wife when she told him more than three ingredients, as he had a hard time keeping up, and then he complained loudly about the line to another staff member. Hey, this isn't a Hyatt, and it's fine if you are just looking for a place to sleep.

« A great stay with alot of care »

This hotel goes out of their way to assure your stay is pleasant and all your needs are taken care of. Beautiful property and dynamite breakfast. The evening wine and cheese/crackers are a great ending to the day. Hot coffee and tea is 24/7 - loved it! And then cookies fresh baked. Great place.

    2
« Looks can be deceiving »

From the outside the place looks fine but actually the rooms are old and run down, musty and gloomy. The pool is heated but not very warm. The exercise equipment was obsolete. The breakfast was average and the dinner buffet was average.

« Best Place To Stay In Simi Valley »

This place is wonderful from hello to goodbye. They have a fabulous breakfast in the mornings complete with an omelette bar, waffles or french toast, potatoes, toast & bagels, fresh fruit, etc. Wine in the evenings is also very good. A lovely, quiet place complete with pool and fitness room. Easy to find and very enjoyable.

« Take this hotel at your last resort »

The hotel is old and the infrastructure is old as well. During my visit the bathroom sink had no hot water. I expressed my concerns to the nite person and he told me to "Take your ice bucket and fill it at the tub and pour it into the sink. For the price of 100 plus dollars a nite I would expect to be moved to another room. No such offer was made. I think I will consider a bridge to sleep under before using this hotel again

Great value for the money! Very friendly staff throughout! Felt welcomed and valued. Great location, clean, rooms somewhat tired, but beds & pillows very comfortable. « Now a bit tired and in need of TLC. Not Best Western standard »

The hotel looks nice from the outside but the rooms are starting to look their age. "Voted #1 in <area> in 2009" according to the tv caption, which is about the last time it saw some paint. Wardrobe coming apart, tv half-tuned, bathroom old with jet-engine fan. Window (next to road) didn't really close well. No laundry pickup (changing suppliers apparently). They had a party in the event rooms beneath me on one night until 1am. Why not stick those guests in the rooms above?!?! Anyway, sounds worse than it is. Breakfast ok. Freshly made omelettes amongst the options... Reception didn't seem to care about the comments I made, explains they were changing owners as though that was an acceptable answer.

    « Stay in Simi »

Overall good and convenient location to family and sites. Was close to the shopping malls and to the Reagan Library, which made the stay that much more better for us. We would definitely stay here again because of its location to my mother's home in Simi Valley.

    4
« Nice Hotel, Misinformed Staff »

The exterior, dining area and lobby of the hotel is beautiful, the staff was welcoming. the rooms of the hotel are older and not up to date but very clean and comfortable. My only issue was with the clerk when I checked in, I gave a credit card for the room, she insisted several times that the room was prepaid, I was sure that it was not, 2 days later I discovered my wife's card was charged, not the one I gave for incidentals. My wife and her card were not even with me on the trip, her card was only used to reserve the room online.

    « Best Western 10+ »

We wanted to go to the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley. I am a B.W. Gold card member so I always check out the area for one. We were delighted when we pulled up to this one just after dark and checked in. My sister was with us so we needed to beds and on the ground floor. We were given a very nice spacious room with a wet bar too. But the extra surprise was the breakfast the next morning. They had a fresh omelet bar that had everything you needed. The lady who was making the omelets had several pans going at the same time. They also had fresh fruits, hash browns, ready made eggs, various breads etc. The breakfast room was very charming. We would very much stay here again if we are in the area.,

While a little dated, the room was fantastic. We got a suite and it was clean and comfortable. The staff is exceptionally kind and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was amazing. Clean, nice room. Very nice breakfast, good wifi, and pleasant helpful staff. Only issue was some noisy folks leaving the hotel at 5 am - but that is not the hotel's fault. « Clean, Comfortable, and Reasonably Priced »

Loved the great hot breakfast, 24-hour access to business center so I didn't have to drag my computer along on a pleasure trip, and the Fitness Center that helped me work off my breakfast. I was happy to see the Fitness Center had water and a restroom right there. I didn't like getting a free upgrade without notification that we would be getting only one bed instead of the two we needed, but they found another first floor room like the one we reserved that had parking even closer. Having to move everything was still a pain, though. If you are visiting the Reagan Library, this is the perfect place to stay, since it's just minutes away.

    3
« Nice but dated rooms »

Staff was great, grounds very nice, rooms are comfortable but older and worn. Could use remodel of rooms. Non Smoking rooms are great, but then there are people standing outside smoking and that is gross too.

« Don't let them put you above the convention area »

We were given a room on the second floor. There is no elevator so we had to lug our heavy suitcases up the stairs. It seemed nice enough, but when we came back from dinner, there was a huge party going on in the convention area, with people spilling out into the lobby and splayed on the stairs so we could hardly get up to our room. The party went on until midnight and we couldn't sleep a wink! The room was VIBRATING and the bass from the sound system pounded in my head.

    4
    « Great value »

I stayed at this hotel after visiting the Reagan Library. Very close to this attraction. And the rate was very affordabel...$89 with AAA. It had wine with cheese and crackers compliments of the hotel the night I was there. Rooms were spacious and clean. The only drawback was there is no elevator but they will help you up the stairs. The staff was very friendly.

    « Critique of Stay »

Excellent kitchen staff that did a great job in breakfast preparation. Hotel maintenance was a disaster. Dresser drawers and clothes closet door was in need of major repair and was not properly repaired during our entire stay. In fact, after we reported the condition the maintenance person only worsened the condition. We decided to live with it for the remainder of our stay. Upon checking out, I again, reported the condition to the check out clerk. I have stayed at this facility several times while visiting family in the area and have noticed a steady decline in the maintenance of the entire facility. I would recommend a major over haul of the entire facility. I plan on returning to the area in February 2016. I may give your facility another try mainly because of the great breakfasts that the kitchen staff prepare and I am an advocate of a good breakfast before I start my day... Thank you and I hope that you would inform the kitchen staff how much I appreciated their effort during my entire stay.

We were looking for an affordable, comfortable place to stay while visiting the Reagan Library in Simi Valley. After checking rates and reviews on Trip Advisor, we chose the Best Western Posada Royale. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good, just be prepared to wait in line for the made to order omelets. This hotel is close to the Reagan Library - maybe 3 miles with a direct route. Couldn't have been easier. Grocery stores, restaurants and shopping close as well. We enjoyed our stay and will be returning guests when we visit Simi Valley again.

Stayed here last year so was glad we could stay here again, What a difference. Put us on second floor, no elevator had to carry our bags up flight of stairs, no bell hops. Quiet hotel has a great morning breakfast. Rooms are quiet and clean. Easy on and off to 118. Beautiful area with lots of shops and restaurants. Staff was helpful and pleasant. We found a nice spot in their garden area to play games with the family and relax.
