We were invited to a celebration that was being held here. The banquet was something else to behold. The first course floored us and the soups, as they always are in Romania, were exquisite, we had to stop eating after this point. The cocktails were first class, we had the waiter help recommend them to us and he selected ones to match the food - slightly sour and sharp tasting. Is near a lovely park and very close to the older part of the city making it a good choice. Was impressed.
The hotel says four stars on the front but online says three or three and a half. That sounds more accurate. It is a midrange hotel, definitely not luxurious but acceptable by international standards. Room was a decent size and had a nice balcony overlooking the park. I really loved the location near the huge park even though it was 15-20 minutes walk to the old town. Seems like a good compromise location between city and country. Parking was free but crowded and chaotic and took some effort to get the agent to find me a spot. The AC/heating worked well and though the hotel is old room seemed renovated fairly recently. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, if you like firn which I do. It was overall a good value and good stay but two areas that were less than five stars were the bathroom, which had a mild, nasty sewage smell that some old plumbing systems have and the breakfast. The bread and pastries were not very fresh and the juice was not real. Still, somewhat forgiven because of the good price, good location and great bed
Very friendly staff member on check in desk went out of his way to help me try organise a covid test for one of kids for returning home stayed in presidential room which was so spacious nicely decorated but restaurant I didn't like and especially the man serving us not the slightest bit nice
The reception are is still under renovation, the rooms are very nice, newly renovated and very clean. The inconvenience in the bathroom is that the water from the shower is leaking into the floor so you have to be careful not to slip. The bed is confortable and the overall experience is a very good one. The breakfast is simple but ok, coffee is good.
We ended our week's cycling tour of Transylvania and you approach this hotel from the woods and a most beautiful park. On the other side of the hotel you're only a few minutes' walk from the centre. Our room was like a mini junior-suite, with all 'mod cons' and so nothing to complain about!
The hotel is located on the edge of the park in a very quiet area. The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated. The staff is extremely friendly and the breakfast food is varied and of good quality. I highly recommend!
This hotel is on the parc. The rooms are decent. Mixture of new stylisch design and Romanian. The breakfast, menu of the restaurant and employees are typically romanian. This is nice in one way. Not nice if you like a burger or when you try to pay and you are asked to come back later because a more important group need to leave. I would have given 4 starts without this incident because it gave me a feeling that I was less important to them. When a group want to leave on team the group leader needs to get up 15 minutes before is my advise. The location of the hotel is beatifull on the park. There is a playground in the parc for childeren so I will come back with my daughter. Employees are friendly.
Rooms were reasonable size, clean and comfortable - we had a balcony overlooking the park. Located next to a large park well used by the locals - quite noisy arounddawn/dusk due to huge number of crows that rest in the trees. Approx 15-20 min walk into Sibiu Old Town. We found the staff to be a bit cold and unfriendly. Breakfast was fairly average - we went after a bus tour had been in, and the staff were in no rush to refill the food. Petsonally, I'd suggest a local small hotel of pensiune as our experiences have been nicer in those, but this hotel is ok and reasonably priced. One point is that it is directly under the landing flight path to the airport which is around 5km away, so they come down close and noisy - luckily the airport isnt that busy.
I stayed for 2 nights on business. The hotel is ok, nothing special but well located and cheap. The food was good, the prices in the bar/restaurant were good and the waiters in the bar were excellent, great English and super friendly. The guy on the desk tonight (30 July) however deserves to be fired. I left my room at 9am and when I got back at 5pm it had not been serviced. I then went to eat and eventually got back to the reception at 10pm - I asked if he could check if the room had been cleaned and he said ‘check it yourself'! So I did and shocker - still not serviced. I went back down and told him and he threw his phone down on the desk and handed me 2x toilet rolls! Never again
I like the room, the location, but I don,t like the cleaning. I stayed in the hotel two nights and in this period nobody enter to clean, arange the beds or changing the towells. The breakfast was nearly OK..
They treat their guests like family. One of the Front Office Managers, Mr. Virgil - senior gentleman, was very very nice and kind and helpful. Always smiling, and always ready to help. Great experience.
Hotel is my favorite in Sibiu. I always chose to stay there. People at reception desk are very kind. Rooms are clean. Restaurant is clean. Waiters are kind. Hotel has renewed the rooms some time ago. So, rooms are in good condition. Especially, the rooms having balcony. There is a park in green across the hotel. My bad experience is about last time. The room cleaner(s) has(have) left a note in the room. I found it when I was back to the hotel in the evening. The note is in Romanian language and just I understood the wording for "thanks". The following day I showed the friend and he said that they have informed me to close shower cabin doors properly. This is ridiculous, this is not their job. I informed the lady at reception desk when I was leaving the hotel. She became sad and said she will inform the manager. The cleaners were right because the water came out the shower sink and made wet the floor. But this was not related with properly closing the doors. There were some openings at the plastics part of the cabin doors. Infact even closing the doors very tightly, water leaks. So, * cleaner cannot write a note to a guest in such a rude manner and * if there will be a note, before writing it, all checks must be made and then it can be communicated to the guest in a proper way.
The hotel is located in a pleasant area in the vicinity of a park, close to the center and the football stadium. The staff is nice and the services are the same. Breakfast for Sunday is only until 10 am, and if there are events within the hotel there are no parking places for those accommodated and the music is heard quite loud until 11 pm.
New rooms, very well decorated, clean, located in a nice area, close to the Old Town. Good service, good breakfast and a nice restaurant. Restaurant food is not fancy it is just basic but if you don't want to eat out of the restaurant it is a good choice.
Good hotel located in central part of the city, close to the park (clean, quiet area). Spacious rooms, good amenities. Good breakfast, with Romanian specialties. Friendly and helpful hotel personnel. Recommend for business and leisure travelers. Good quality/price ratio.
A good option to consider if you're looking for a nice hotel to spend a few nights in Sibiu. Rooms are quite big and the furniture is new. Bathrooms are nice and clean but not that big. The area is very good, near the park and at about a 20 minute walk to the center (old one). The food (for breakfast) is also very tasty.
This hotel was excellent. Beds were full sized and very comfortable. Nice balcony with chairs and table to sip tea in the afternoon and just relax. Kettle and some free tea provided. Breakfast was excellent with lots of options. Hotel is very quiet inside the city park. It can be difficult to find so map it out clearly before you go because the hotel is hidden away in the city park. You have to park your car by driving though one of the roads in the park where many people are strolling so be cautious. About a 20 to 30 min walk to the centre but worth it for the free parking. Use high-rise hotels to get your bearings on the path to the centre. Front desk staff very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.
Clean, friendly, cosy Near to a lovely park Close to the old city Very good value for the money Good restaurant Good breakfast Generous parking lot I will stau here from now on when travelling to Sibiu
We were booked into the Best Western Silva by our tour company and, frankly, were initially disappointed that this wouldn't be in one of the historic buildings in Sibiu's medieval centre. However, what we found was a light, spacious and tastefully decorated hotel, within easy walking distance of the main sites, which rather benefited from the quiet location in a park, rather than in the crush and hubbub of one of the touristy - albeit pretty - squares in the historic centre.
Very nice park. Wonderful view on the green from the window. The mattress is amazing. Very firm and the best one I have ever seen for my hurting back. The personnel in the restaurant is friendly and ready to cook something upon special request.
We had a delightful stay at this hotel. From the moment we checked in until our check out six nights later, everything was great. The front desk clerks were always helpful and friendly and the room spacious (for Europe) was clean and comfortable. In the morning, there was a plentiful breakfast to start the day which was included in the rate. The a/c was a welcome addition on some warm evenings. Some reviewers have mentioned that the hotel is not centrally located, but if walking several blocks is too much, there is a taxi stand which is around the corner and taxis (compared with other countries) are fiarly inexpensive. What you may not have for central location is made up for in the fact that the hotel is located on the edge of a nice park that runs through a great portion of the city. Our room over looked the park which was quite relaxing. The park also has several nice walking trails. If our travels bring us back to Sibiu, we will definitely stay at the Silva.
We had a pleasant stay here. Room was clean and spacious, very modern bathroom. Balcony with a view of the lovely park. They seem to be a health conscious lot the Sibiuans, there were yoga classes going on in the park, tennis, football, jogging, cycling, walking and a large outdoor fixed gym nearby. A substantial children's play area just outside so this would be a good hotel to bring children. The town centre was walking distance. There were two weddings taking place at the hotel but we were not disturbed. Sibiu airport is nearby but I only heard one plane the whole time we were there. Breakfast and wifi good.
Trying to get a room in the hotel we've visited in summer we had a bitter surprise."Sorry, the hotel is undergoing a renovation...we a=have problems with the water...we have no rooms" The surprise is that, on booking and tripadvisor, we found the rooms available and no info about any problems at the hotel. So? We've ended at Hilton Sibiu. Lucky us!
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Room was large, clean and very nice decorated. Hotel is next to a nice park. Downtown Sibiu is about 15 min walking distance. Breakfast was very good with good variety. If we are back in Sibiu, we would stay again at this hotel.
The hotel is located in the park, very close to the city center, 10-15 minutes walking. It has also a prive parking area. Clean rooms, very very worm inside the room. In my opinion the breakfast Could have had more types of food but it ok. I recommend the hotel
pros: - they had baby bad - very good and rich breakfast - very kind staff - very nice, big and clean room - has elevator - has a big free parking lot - sits next to a very big park cons: - a little bit far from the old city and the main square
From this hotel, you can get in the Historic Centre of Sibiu by taxi, in 5-6 minutes. Location is really nice, in a beautiful park. Not far is 'August von Spiess" Hunting Museum. Room was clean and large enough, but... the noisy wedding in the restaurant will make me try to find another hotel next time when I will come to Sibiu. If you come on Saturday on Sunday, you can find such unwanted surprise! To be honest, I was relocated here from another hotel (Golden Tulip) - because overbooking is normal in the hotels of Sibiu !
We stayed here for two nights as part of an organised tour. Our room was at the back of the hotel, which was nice and quiet. We had a separate sitting room and a comfortable bed. The food here was very good and plenty of it. It was situated by a park with plenty of open space. Would recommend it
A good hotel which offers exactly as it promises.New,well decorated, spacious rooms.Free parking, nice breakfast.Friendly and experienced staff.Strongly recommended. Relatively close to city center(fifteen minutes walk). The only problem was to find parking space due to a wedding party.
New hotel with a very good positioning, near a park. Spacious, clean and comfortable room. The restaurant doesn't have a rich menu but what they have is very tasty and good. Breakfast is varied and tasty. Very good services and friendly staff.
I stayed on a weekend that had the entire city full room wise. Having stayed in the Ramada before I can say this was quite alot better and at less than half the price. The hostess Delfi was great and very helpful. The hotel is within walking distance to the large square and shopping.
Our room was wonderful with an enclosed balcony at the front of the hotel overlooking the park. The balcony was furnished with window boxes of pelargoniums and very pleasant. The service was exceptional and the restaurant food was good. I wish there were more hotels as pleasant as the Silva Hotel. The hotel was quiet during our mid week stay and we woke up to birdsong each morning.
An average 3-star hotel, good enough rooms, pretty comfortable bed, renovated but small bathrooms. Wifi works well. Free parking. Good location close to the park. Typical continental breakfast. Friendly staff.
When staying in a hotel on holiday a big chain hotel, (even if independently run as Best Western say), would not normally be high on my list of hotel preferences, preferring smaller independent hotels but we were pleased we picked this hotel. Its location is fairly central (an easy 20 min walk to the historic town centre) and facing out onto a nice park. The room was very clean, smart, spacious and with a very comfortable bed. It also had a small balcony with 2 chairs for taking in the late afternoon sun. All for a very good price. Breakfast was as you would expect for a large hotel, a wide choice and good quality. The lady on reception was helpful and friendly, with a sense of humour that is often lacking when faced with the usual stupid questions. Sibiu airport is close to town but with it being a small airport with a limited number of flights, noise was not a problem to us. A taxi to the airport cost just 20 Leu (approx £4 / $5) Would definitely stay here again if visiting Sibiu, which in itself was a very good historic town.
We have stayed here in February 2017 for one night. The hotel is clean and quiet, the customer service is good. The parking fee is included. Also, they have a decent restaurant. I would recommend this hotel if you travel to Sibiu.
Stayed here for two nights. The hostel is new, cozy rooms and the staff was very helpful. Breakfast is good, traditional Romanian food. Close to the city center, but it's easier to reach it by taxi. Good value for money.
Initial room we got was old and bathroom was not clean. So we complained and were given an upgrade. Room 202 which we ended up with was a great room but the housekeeping wasn't great as bathroom looked good & updated but the shower had not been cleaned properly. Although this was a renovated room, it didn't seem that the renovations had been done properly in the bathroom.
I have two thing to say for this hotel. If there was only the positive one it will be perfect 5 point hotel but I can't avoid the second. Let's start with the positives: The hotel is not so far from the city center - you can take a taxi or to walk (with a free map from the reception) The center is a 20mins walk away. In the neighborhood there are a plenty of food shops including a big brand supermarket if you prefer to eat in the room. The room is big and clean. The bed is comfortable. The negative is for me big problem. At the same evening in the restaurant was an event. We were a guided big group and in fact there is no second place to eat in the hotel. We asked several times for a way to be served no matter the event. So we went to look for an outside place. At the morning the restaurant was not completely cleaned after the event. But the chef has done his job. The breakfast was mid-level but expected for this type of hotel and brand. I am not sure is there an requirement for branded 4 star hotel like this to have a second restaurant but I am wondering what will happen if our group was ordered something via room service at the same time... is this the same as to be served at the restaurant together with the event...
The hotel is in a quiet spot opposite a park. Very restful. The restaurant is good but you might want to walk to the old town, about a 25 minute walk, and get more traditional food and atmosphere. It loses a point fore the bathroom. The show had a curtain or door that doesn't quite close so the floor of the bathroom can flood. A very small shelf for toiletries is over the sink making it hard to bend over the sink.
My husband chose this hotel from reading Tripadvisor reviews. The location was quiet being located by a park. It is about 15 minutes from the centre but we don't mind walking. Breakfast is buffet but we weren't offered eggs cooked to order. Eggs and bacon were on the buffet table. The choice was okay but we would have preferred fresh Romanian bread. We did find the bed a bit hard and the duvet does not hang over the sides of the bed. It was a very quiet location although 2 planes flew very low on both nights.
Acceptable hotel on 15 minutes walking distance from historical city center. Clean room and bathroom. Breakfast not very special but okay. We just had bad luck because during our 5 days stay there were three (wedding) parties with live music on friday, saturday and sunday. Very noisy till late in the night a hard and annoying beat throughout all the hotel. Same 3 days the dining room was also occupied for weddingguests. We had to take our diner in a corner of the breakfast room. We wisely fled the hullabaloo and took a restaurant in town.
Rooms were clean and updated. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was really nice. TV was small but normal for Europe. Free parking and above average breakfast. I would have given them a 5 star except I had a room on floor 1 right above where they played loud music until midnight. Couldn't sleep the second night I was there (Friday night). I would request a room higher up if I were to go again.
We stayed in the Silva for three days, having chosen it because the wedding reception we went to was held there. The room was good, but there were drawbacks: There was little storage space and no drawers at all. The bathroom was small and badly arranged, though clean and in good working order The bottom of the window was obscured by a structure in front of it. This interfered with the view, but also gave privacy. It looks as if only a few rooms on the first floor are like this. WiFi was good The food at the wedding reception was good and copious. It appears that the hotel hosts many weddings. The service was helpful and the staff spoke good English.
We (20 approx) Irish attended a wedding at this venue in July 2016. The whole occasion was a great success. The food - all eight courses was top clas,s especially "the samarle". The service was very professional and not overpowering. We did not stay here but we had access to a number of bedrooms. The hotel itself is excellent - the rooms finished to a high and modern standard with A/C and quality decor. The cost were very low by western European standards - a little high by Romanian standards - but for us great value. We came back the next day and had breakfast on the terrace - really nice.
We arrived after a long day of travel (flights and then a four-hour drive from Bucharest) and were eager to get some rest. When we arrived around 9:30pm, the property was crowded and the check-in agent advised us that there were not one but TWO weddings currently going on at the property. We still managed to find a parking spot with no problem, and checkin took less than five minutes. Our room was on the first floor and I was worried about the noise from the parties, but once we were in the room it was like we were the only people on the property (but not in a creepy way). The room was comfortable with plenty of amenities, and we got a great night's sleep. The breakfast the next morning was very good, typical European offerings served in a nice setting (we could choose indoor or outdoor seating). We would like to spend more time in Sibiu and when we manage to come back, we will choose the BW Hotel Silva again.
Was there for one night. Personnel OK, customer oriented. Room nice, rather small not quite four stars. Good sense breakfast. Very crowded in we due to the weddings parties. Overall is a good atmosphere, recommendable.
This hotel is very nice, we have big room with balcony. Balcony view direct to the Park. Nice room most especially granite bathroom. We ate also in the restaurant, the problem was they served as the food and the waiter turns out the light, and we dont know what going on. Nobody inform us, after a Minute the staff coming out with bday cake and etc. We eat with no lights on, after singing 3x happy Birthday Songs they turn on the lights ??. The foods was good.
We stayed there in weekend, every Saturday might be a wedding there, but if u stay at an upper appartement u can't hear the noise of music. Very cozy and comfortable, bathroom very good, room excellent with balcony, Wi-Fi good and breakfast OK. All in one I give them 5 stars.
Great location, right into one of the largest parks in Sibiu, rooms are clean, mattreses firm and very clean. There are some tenis courts nearby and a pool (not opened at the time of my visit, even if its July already). Everything is perfect except if you are lucky enough to have your room facing back of the hotel, there is a mini forest full of crows. They are singing their song night and day, it may sound funny but when theres like 150 of them the feeling beats any serious horror movie. Specially at night :)
This is one of the best hotels I stayed in while traveling through Romania and Bulgaria. It's rated 3 stars but it's better than the 4-star hotels I've stayed in. I'll start with the negative: (1) It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the pedestrianised area downtown. (I didn't check if there're buses available.). (2) The shower stall area between the floor and wall joint is brown from long term use. Also the plastic holder/frame for the sliding glass panels has come loose at the bottom. Doesn't look good for their maintenance people. But there're lots of good things about this hotel: (1) The reception staff are super friendly and helpful. And, of course, they speak excellent English; (2) The bed is large and comfortable; (3) Room is large with a nice big balcony (4) Free wifi – drops out once or twice, but fast and generally reliable; (5) Lots of power points for charging your phone or whatever; (6) Good amenities: safe, minibar (use the fridge for storing your foodstuff), coffee maker, etc. (7) Decent sized TV (about 22”) with tons of channels (sports, movies) including BBC, CNN and even CCTV; (8) Large, nice, park outside where you can go for walks or runs; (9) Breakfast consists of a good assortment of cheeses, juices, yoghurt, fruit, breads, sliced/chopped tomatoes/cucumbers, cold cut meats, salami, 4-5 different cereals. (10) Computer with printer in the reception area to print your boarding pass or whatever. (11) Bus stop to neighbouring towns (e.g. Sighisoara) just five minutes walk from the hotel. If you don't mind the 20-minute walk to the downtown area, this hotel would be a great choice.
Very good location (about 10 minutes walk to Cetate), at the border of Sub Arini parc, very good service, a very good price for 4* hotel in Sibiu. The breakfast buffet had a great variety. The parking is free.
We stayed just one Night but we left with the intention to return soon. The room is big and clean (at the 4 stars area) The staff is very friendly and they smile a lot! We ordered breakfast in roomservice, and we received a big and full plate, coffe, juices. The view from the balcony is beautiful! We recommend this hotel!
The hotel is located close to a park and it's pretty hidden from the noise and agitation of the city streets. The rooms are nice, big and clean. The food served at breakfast was fresh and good. I recommend it!
When you perform the check in ask for the room with balcony because they are renovated. The staff is kind and they accept to change my room. Breakfast is acceptable. The hotel is in a park with a beautiful view , nice and quiet.
Very clean, comfortable rooms and quite big, private guarded parking. The food in the restaurant is very tasty and the service is excellent. Location of the hotel is very good, situated near a park which is ideal for a walk. Everything that you would expect from a nice hotel is there.
Excellent room and breakfast and good location. Room and bathroom was clean and tidy. Quite location near a nice park, walking distance to center of town. Good choice of TV channels. Bed was a little hard to sleep on but all in all a nice place to stay.
Nice hotel, with good conditions. Well located to make some runs near the hotel and still near the center. The hotel doesn't have any fitness room. The rooms have new furnish and the wifi is free. The breakfast is average. Only for portuguese lovers of coffee, the coffee from machine is not included in the price but doesn't worst to waste this money.
I and my wife stayed 1 night at this hotel during our driving trip in Romania room#104. Hotel located next to the beautiful park and can walk 15-20min to Sibiu old town. Room size is quite large compare with hotel in Bucharest. Private parking is provided for hotel guess. Big double bed with LCD cable TV. Room is clean and warm with nice bathroom and good shower. Our room opposite to the park. It has balcony but cannot go out. Slipper is provided in room. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good with variety of food. There is hotel function on that day but our room is far away from restaurant part, no loud noise to disturb our sleep. Price is good compare with product and service that we get from this hotel.
I stayed there for a week on business trip in Oct. My room was beutifully arranged (no 102), I liked the fabrics' design and the bathroom. All the amenites were working (only the fridge too loud, but you can switch it off for a night). A room with a view on a park, nice buffet breakfasts, haven't eaten anything else but the htel price of beer very nice too :). The room was clean and warm. The price was lower than in 3* Ibis nearby at that time. Nothing you could fuss about. 15 minutes of steady walking distance from the Old Town
A nice hotel with lovely views over the park, excellent reception, our suite was clean and acceptable , but the food was about as average as food can be , well presented but so very , very average ,a shame as I am a food lover (not a food critic) I wish this hotel all the luck as it is a nice place with decent people but please get a Chef .....
I stayed here for 3 nights on business. My first time in Romania and was a bit unfamiliar with eastern European ways. The hotel was basic but very tidy, very clean and comfortable. Close to city centre and a nice park outside the hotel. Rooms have air conditioning which was good for the hot summer. Breakfast was fine, decent variety but basic and not great coffee. The wifi was excellent and the staff at the concierge were extremely helpful. Overall a decent place to stay
We loved our 2 nights stay at this hotel . it is situated near a big park and it's 15 minutes of walking from town center . the staff is very friendly and customer oriented. We had a 2 rooms appartment , livingroom and bedroom, tv's in each room and individual AC for each room. The area is really quiet and the morning air is fresh . breakfast was good with a lot to chose from . The hotel has an outdoor parking in the yard and it's guarded 24/7. The price is lower than other hotels in the same cathegory.
Old renovated hotel in the green area of the city. There are good points and weak points for this hotel. Service is old time fashion, rooms are refurbished but still small, restaurant is good but not as expected. Suitable for business trips and for events.
We stayed in Sibiu for two nights as part of a driving holiday through Romania and took the one bedroom suite as it was so cheap coming from the UK. Arrival was very efficient - large car park and keycard quickly issued. The suite was enormous - almost too big - a good sized bedroom, well laid out bathroom (see below though), a balcony with a 6 or 8 seat table and a massive main room with chairs and a small kitchenette which we did not use. The weather was very hot so we were pleased the air con worked well. Our first challenge was the bath / shower. The tap to activate the shower did not work (it was stuck or very stiff) which after a long driving day wasn't good. It was a Sunday and the duty manager said there was no one to repair it. In the end he came up and fiddled with it and got it working. The plumber came the next day but there was no difference and we fiddled with it to make it work. This shouldn't have happened and the duty manager was a little surly about it too. More positively, the hotel is located by big park. However, it is a good 15 minute walk (certainly in the heat of our visit) to the old city. We came back on the first night and had a drink outside at the hotel which was very pleasant after 9pm. The second night we ate there as we had a long journey the next day - no fans though which made it hot outside at even 730pm (a nearby bar had cooling fans which made it comfortable to drink out mid afternoon - perhaps the hotel should get some?). Food was a little bland too. Breakfast was disappointing after the rave reviews of some. The first day we came down in the last 30 mins or so of service and nothing had been replenished. Overall the hotel was cheap from a UK perspective and the room very comfortable apart from the shower which should have been fixed. If the hotel worked on a few issues it could improve. A little too far from the city in mid- summer heat too.
