Sheridan Inn, B/W Signature Collection, Sheridan

856 Broadway Street, 82801-3623, Sheridan, Etats-Unis - See on a map
The Sheridan Inn, B/W Signature Collection is ideally located in the center of Sheridan. Come and experience our hotel near the major tourist attractions. Best price guaranteed and exclusive deals.

The Sheridan Inn's significance in our nation's history lies primarily in its direct connection with William F. 'Buffalo Bill' Cody, who developed and sold the concept of the Inn to the railroad. As part owner, he directed hotel management, and even auditioned new members for his touring company the 'Wild West' show from the front porch. Buffalo Bill pulled together one of the most interesting casts of true-to-life characters that has probably ever been assembled. Some he had known as a young frontier scout and others he met later as a Pony Express rider, military scout, cattle rancher, mine owner, or in one of his many other enterprises. Each of the twenty-two rooms at the revitalized Sheridan Inn, BW Signature Collection focuses on Buffalo Bill and twenty-one other key characters from his life. Each suite will present the times and individual histories of these people in the room’s overall finish, furnishings, art, artifacts, and exhibits. You will know the characters as icons of the American West, while others you may have never heard of previously, but they are all people you will want to know. Together, they have helped shape how we as Americans see ourselves and how others in the world see us. Often noted as one of the Inn's most distinguishing architectural features is the broad and inviting front porch, wrapping around the north, south, and east elevations. As evidenced by photographs, the porch has not only been a favorite of Inn guests, but it was also a favorite of Cody's. Historic photographs show him enjoying the porch with a crowd of his cronies, auditioning for the Wild West show, or just relaxing on the porch alone. The comprehensive porch restoration stabilized the porch column foundations, removed deteriorated portions of wood columns, brackets, corbels and beams. All replacements were made with the same species of wood to maintain the historical significance of authenticity.

"Beautifully appointed rooms, wonderful ambience, great location!"

clairann2000, Colorado 26/07/2022

Many older hotels have updates that are mildly cosmetic and impractical..this one is wonderful Beautiful bathroom with perfect tile and claw foot tub, geothermal air conditioning, a font porch with wonderful rockers facing a park and trains coming y often, and a book about local history in your room...I would for sure stay here again. You are in the heart of the historic downtown and have ample parking. One regret is breakfast was not available across the street on Monday, so we had home Meade burritos/salsa and yogurt neither of which is my thing, but that was minor compared to the lovely late afternoon on the porch, the super friendly staff and the gorgeous decor. STAY HERE!

"Great hotel with a unique character."

JasonFromArizona, Arizona 07/07/2022

Not many hotels like this! What a fun and unique hotel. You could truly feel the history in the building. Beside the hotel's unique character, it was well-maintained, very clean, quite comfortable and the team members I encountered were super friendly. Plus the restaurant they partner with to provide breakfast service was unique in itself and had a great prime rib omelette. I hope to get to stay in this hotel again soon.

"Historic and Comfortable Sheridan Inn"

Paul B, Wheaton, Illinois 21/06/2022

A unique hotel where every room is named for a person with a connection to Buffalo Bill Cody. We stayed in the Sitting Bull room which has photos of Sitting Bull and a book about his life. Next door is the Annie Oakley room, and down the hall is the Bill Cody room, among others. The room is comfortable. No tv. Craft breweries are down the street along with several good restaurants. If you are coming to Sheridan to see the nearby Brinton Museum, you should consider this place.

"Buffalo Bill Cody Lived Here"

We love staying in historic hotels if we could so this was very special for us. This beautiful Inn was opened in 1893. My sister and I had to share a king bed because that was all that was left for the days we stayed there. It was a lovely, but small, room, The Black Elk room. We were so thrilled they had availability. It was decorated very rustic. The bathroom had a club foot bathtub and a hand held shower head. It was a little hard to take a shower without getting the floor wet and it was hard to step out of the tub without worrying about tripping out as it was slippery. There were nice fluffy towels. Be aware that there are not tv's in the rooms. The lobby is big and very Western looking. You could just picture Buffalo Bill Cody walking around there. He used to have auditions for his Wild West Show on the front lawn of the Inn. A nice continental breakfast is included with the room and is served in what used to be their fine dining restaurant, the Open Range. It's too bad that the restaurant is now closed. Offered for breakfast was cereals, hard boiled eggs, juices, breads, pastry, yogurt. The beautiful bar in the restaurant was a gift to Buffalo Bill Cody from Queen Victoria of England. The Sheridan Inn is conveniently located for a trip to The Little BigHorn Battlefield, which is about an hour north. There is parking on the side of the building. The only thing I was disappointed about was that the beautiful statue of the couple dancing on the front lawn that I have seen in pictures was moved somewhere else. All the staff were very nice and friendly. If you like staying in historic inns and hotels, this should not be missed.

Johncollins2014, Sand Springs, Oklahoma 03/02/2022

This is a very unusual old building steeped in western history! We can me for Oklahoma to visit the Sheridan, Big Horn Mountain area, many times, our favorite destination, We have our 55th. anniversary this year and are planning on staying there again in May, Neat old historic building, ck lean, QUIET, o not one TV in the whole place! no telephone in the rooms, my kind of place! If walls could talk, the Sheridan Inn would be worth listing to!

"Sheridan Inn"

Very beautiful place full of history and close to downtown. I enjoyed the building and the history that went with it. The staff were very friendly and helpful and had a lot of knowledge about it's history. The only reason I only gave it four stars is the bar and restaurant were closed for the season which is understandable. Otherwise it was a beautiful stay and enjoyed it greatly.
