This hotel had good reviews, so we chose it rather than a competitor where we had previously stayed. We were extremely disappointed in the quality of the room. It looked like it had not been updated since the 1980s. The sound proofing was essentially non-existent. When someone in the next room took a shower, it sounded like it was in your own bathroom. The room felt a bit shabby. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Although the bulletin board promised a gift basket for Best Western members, we did not receive anything that could be construed as s gift basket. The elevator was both dingy and slow. The whole place needed a serious updating.
We have been staying at the Nexus for over 11 years and they never disappoint. The beddings are so comfortable, I always have a sound sleep. Everything about the room is lovely. Also, it is very clean and offers free shuttle service to and from most of the major hospitals. Being right off the freeway is very convenient for easy access. What we love about every stay is the excellent servicse, kindness, and professionalism we received consistently. Even the manager, Bridget, though so busy, is very personable, and caring. All her employees, especially Kathy, John, and Drew are always accommodating and willing to help. The whole staff is so efficient and just lovely. I'm sorry I don't remember the names of the other employees that have been so kind and helpful. The Nexus also offers a yummy hot and cold buffet breakfast, fitness center, and laundry. They share the parking with an outstanding restaurant, Saffron, which offer a delicious and huge menu, offering Mediterranean, Indian, and American food. So grateful Nexus. See you soon.
The staff is extremely hard working, friendly and efficient. It had everything we needed. The toilets are a bit randomly noisy but, not horrible. It was very clean. The various stairs/access points were a bit confusing but again, not horrible. Security was visible at all times and bored (as we like them to be). In spite of being open to the outside, it felt quite safe. Great restaurant right in the parking lot, convenient for those of us without ready transportation. Several convenience stores and gas stations very close.
John and Casey are some awesome people. The nexus here in Seattle is cool. These two gentlemen were extremely helpful and polite. Would 10/10 recommend cast and John to all my family and friends if they are in the Seattle area!! They are pet friendly and very clean
My son and I absolutely loved the motel, the service was great, everyone was very friendly and the morning breakfast was absolutely perfect as was the Saffron Grill for dinner. They were very accommodating, making sure that I made it to my medical appointments and the airport on time. Thank you from Anchorage, Alaska.
The room was decent. The check in staff were friendly and helpful. The beds can use some upgrading because they were very firm. My main disappointment was that the pool was out of service and there wasn't a hot tub. The website advertised that they had a pool and hot tub but they only have a pool and no hot tub but the pool was cracked. So if you are booking expecting for this amenity to be available it is not. Overall our stay was decent but I had to get up quite early to check into the hospital for surgery and the downstairs guest complained we were making noise so the walls and floors are very thin so don't get up to early and do a morning routine like shower, brush teeth and get dressed because you will probably get complaints.
Spent two nights at Hotel Nexus in Seattle after scouring the internet for somewhere close but safe with open parking that didn't cost additional. Have a large truck and the parking was regular, open and ample spaces. Hotel was next to freeway, not far from transit center but a hike there. Bus stops are a block away and one is really dirty while the other wasn't bad. Got mixed up with the buses so wish they had a shuttle to transit center. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is clean, modern and had no problems there. Neighborhood around is not great on one side but not horrible. McDonald's, Starbucks, restaurant, donut shop and food truck next door and across street. Not close enough to walk to tourist spots but far enough to not park in garage and no parking fee. Would highly consider staying here again if I went back. Price was also reasonable for being near Seattle.
It is ok. A bit dated. In a bad part of town. Not really close to anything. There isn't really any extra's in this room. The bed was comfortable. No carpet. It is an outside walk up to room. No elevator. Stairs only. Restaurant is close. Not much selection on menu. The staff was amazing and very helpful though. Not really close to anything else though.
Centrally located hotel was ideal for getting on & off i5. Hotel has been upgraded with new flooring, beds, paint, etc. Included Breakfast had lots of options for the kids and the staff kept it well stocked. No hesitation staying here again.
Well-located hotel near light rail station to downtown Seattle. Reasonable value with decent included breakfast available for four hours and free parking. Very helpful employees. But water for room shower barely made it to warm all six days we were there, even when showering at different times of the day. We had to unplug frig in room because it was too noisy, perhaps partly due to age. Toilet ran for a very long time after each flush. Overall, while acceptable, property was a little long in the tooth and might benefit from some fix-up refurbishing.
My family and I had a great experience at Hotel Nexus BestWestern in Seattle, WA. We loved how close and far we were to the downtown area. We could go enjoy the tourist attractions like the Space Needle and Market Place and drive away to a comfortable and quiet hotel within minutes. Thank you.
One chair for 2 people? Yes, indeed, this was my experience staying here. Our room with a queen size bed had only one chair, a desk chair, for two people. I ended up sitting on the luggage rack, a first ever for this experienced traveler!! This motel style sits above a busy road in not a very good neighborhood and all doors to the rooms open to an outdoor corridor. The windows do not open so there is no fresh air circulating. The a/c is the old fashioned noisemaker and there is so much ambient noise, it almost does not matter! The walls are paper thin; the person upstairs appeared to be learning dance steps from the noise. And the bed? Old fashioned foam pillows… The breakfast was served in a tiny room, the usual cheap hotel food: one warmish dish of eggs, fruit, sugary cereal and weak coffee. There are so many coffee shops in Seattle; skip the breakfast and go across the street for a decent cup!
Staff were very friendly. Ordered through an online 3rd party. The king bedroom was gone when we got here. We were upgraded to the hot tube room at no cost. That made our trip amazing! There were some other minor maintenance issues w the room but since it was a free upgrade, it was not a big deal
We were here for 3 nights. There were 3 staff at the front desk when we arrived. I said hello and 2 of the staff seemed annoyed as if I were interrupting them. So I walked over to the 3rd staff person who seemed more approachable. This gentleman had long dark hair and he was pleasant. His coworkers next to him seemed to be flirting with each other. One (not sure of their pronoun, I think the person was female and Asian) was flirting with her coworker who was a short haired Caucasian male. Their lack of customer service and professionalism annoyed me. Anyway, I've been a Best Western rewards member for years. This is the WORST Best Western I've been to. The other guests are sketchy- obviously taking drugs (my sister and I saw 3 guys with their hotel door open). Our next door neighbor was a pervert who liked stand in front of his window with with just his underwear. As soon as he heard us approaching our door, he would always open his door. One guest had an ankle monitor. People were always standing around smoking outside their rooms. I have never felt so unsafe in a motel before. A lot of homeless people hanging around. They did have security guards but honestly- I don't know how effective they are. One wore flip flops and the other one looked pretty elderly. Again, really disappointed with this Best Western. I suggest people stay away. I could t wait to check out.
We stayed multiple times while we had appointments at UW Medical Center. Staff was always courteous, and responded quickly to requests. Rooms smelled so fresh as did the bedding.
Easy access to I-5 and Hwy 99, the many facilities at Northgate, UW Medical Center NW, and North Seattle College.
Ok there should be a selection in trip advisor for medical stays! We were in Seattle so my boyfriend could have surgery. Hotel is 2 blocks from hospital where he had surgery. There's a scheduled shuttle that goes to 8 or 9 medical facilities on weekdays. Altho we did not use it, I would if there were appointments at one of the farther away hospitals. The hotel staff are all super nice. Drew and Gabriel at desk both answered questions. Thanks to them and the GM, Bridgit and the gent who is the assistant or front desk mgr. Breakfast had lots of selections. Parking no problem! Great staff, very clean rooms and we are picky. So we were pleased!
We stayed at this particular hotel because it was close to the hospital where my husband was having a procedure done. All of the employees we interacted with were pleasant and helpful, and we were recognized as platinum members almost as soon as we arrived and given gift bags. The room was very comfortable and spacious and everything was in working order. We were not able to take advantage of the breakfast because we had to leave prior to 6:00 a.m. both mornings. When we asked if we could grab a muffin or something from the breakfast area, we were told "no". It would have been helpful if the breakfast area opened at 5:30 a.m. and/or if the staff had allowed us to grab a quick bite to head out the door. So I cannot attest to the quality of the breakfast. There was plenty of parking available, and the hotel is located right off the I-5 interstate just a few minutes north of downtown Seattle, making it very convenient to nearly everything.
Stayed there and liked the location close to some food places and shops. Train station a few long blocks away. Close to the freeway and the Univ of Washington. The room was a little small and tight. The breakfast was great, and everyone seemed nice. I would stay there again.
Was a great place to stay, clean for the area, due to homelessness and drug problem in area, close to a few stores and Shafron restaurant.
The staff were excellent I asked to be switched to a different room and Alicia accepted the task and processed my request quickly. And Jon helped a great deal it being his first day and he helped me quick and easy. Also my room was very clean. All around I'd give Alicia and Jon 5 out of 5. And my room a 4.5 out of 5 the small fridge is reason for deduction.
Friendly, inexpensive, convenient, clean, very well staffed. Nice people. Always saw staff out and about. Comfy bed. Area is a bit rough but staff was always visible and active in securing hotel. Good food. A bit worn down. Have stayed here in past, just spent six nights. Building could use update, particularly door seals against freeway noise (i was on South side, north side quite, but no expansive view like south.) Overall, I'm always happy here. Thanks Renee, Makimi, and everyone else! Great stay.
The room smelled. the front desk staff seemed annoyed that I was interrupting them to check in, and the internet was out for my entire stay. I actually stayed at another hotel my second night because the smell of whatever cleaner they use was very unpleasant. I had a hard time sleeping my firs night because of it.
Hotel was clean and quiet for the most part. It is situated by a hospital so there were emergency vehicle coming and going but I didn't find that to be bothersome. The breakfast was good and the eating area was clean and roomy. It was about 20 minutes to get into downtown but is also close to the rail & bus station. It was an affordable alternative to staying in Seattle.
This hotel is in a very sketchy area, covered in homeless people and drug addicts openly using. The entire city of Seattle has become a wasteland, it is very sad. This hotel does have security, but depends on the shift of how much attention they pay. The parking lot is very tight, my truck was bumped twice from people trying to get out of their spaces, luckily I have a bull bar on my truck. Had to move rooms twice, first room had clogged bathtub, water would not drain. Was moved to another room that was conjoining on 2 walls, group next door was partying and smoking pot, asked to be moved. Third room was fine, but all of the rooms are very small and very cramped. Walls are thin with no soundproofing. Very uncomfortable room, beds, location. Not worth the money they charge.
Staff is friendly and good clean rooms. Good parking space and breakfast choices. Located within walking distance to Supermarket and shopping areas. Internet connection is good and Laundry facility is also good.
If you are going to anything at the Seattle Center or downtown Seattle this is the perfect place to stay. Close to the light rail with restaurants and gas nearby. The room was cleaner than a lot of rooms I've stayed in. The bed was so comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family. The staff was very friendly and nice.
All staff members were polite and helpful The dining area was always clean and well stocked. Housekeeping responded as needed and management was present and keeping everything moving forward. Parking was always available
This hotel just maintains the bare requirements to make it average. They do nothing to make it enjoyable. The bed wasn't comfortable, the elevator had a broken button and went to the 3rd floor every time it was used. The chair in our room was broken, but they replaced it. The soap dispenser in the shower barely worked and the microwave had buttons that did not work. The dog relief area was a joke, covered in trash and a cigarette receptacle. It was quiet on the back side though. Parking was tight, the spaces are small. I will look for a different place to stay the next time I visit family in Seattle.
The manager took very good care of my daughter, I was not present for the stay, 5 star establishment .. theres not much more to say, hands down I would stay there again, thank you so much for taking care of my daughter....
Rooms were clean, staff was very friendly and assisted with directions to get to the concert. Breakfast was top notch, but the room is small, it can get crowded, we had breakfast in the lobby. Parking was tight since we arrived after midnight, not a major issue. All in all we will definitely come back again.
Due to family member's unexpected overnight stay at local hotel, was in need of immediate hotel. Manager and staff could not have been more accommodating. Adjacent Saffron Restaurant was also a bonus - delicious food.
Too far to walk to central city but the walk to the train station is only about 10 minutes. Have always felt safe walking to and from the station, even late at night. Lovely military cemetery nearby to walk around and get some quiet time.
the girl with the beautiful curls that works at the front desk, she was amazing. she was always complimenting me and she was just the sweetest ever. I look forward to stay at hotel nexus with my family again.
We were in town for the MLB All Star Game. Everything was very expensive, but this hotel was reasonable and did not have horrid reviews. It was fine! It's an old Red Roof Inn that has been completely redone and is no longer part of the franchise. It's clean and safe. The breakfast is standard hotel free breakfast fare. It's fine. We just had cereal which is frankly what we have at home. We could walk to the train (maybe a mile) to easily get downtown. When we asked for our room to be refreshed, it was. The front desk could answer our questions. There is an amazing taco truck across the street. We did not find the restaurant on the property parking lot to send up smells, like other reviewers did, and we were on that side of the hotel. If you don't mind taking public transportation to and from the downtown area, this is a great value.
Terrible experience will not stay there again. Will not recommend it. Service is lacking, didn't get the room that I reserved, and food was not good. You have to have a appointment to use business, fitness centers, as well as the laundry. And the pool had not been maintained for a very long time.
Tub self cleans at 12:30 am. It can wake you up. Bathroom light is not confined to bathroom, instead lights up whole hotel room. Staff is nice. Someone could have been more present during breakfast to wipe down spouts/counters in between guest use.
The conditioner and shampoo in the shower were not as expected. Too pale and did not lather well. Comfortable beds. Was not Sleepless in Seattle! Otherwise everything else was fine. Breakfast was great as always at BW hotels.
Needed to find a central location for trips back and forth to help with care of a sick relative. This was my neighborhood 23 years ago and the price was right...but...be prepared to sleep amidst the walking dead. The room was secure and clean, but the amount of foot traffic, screaming, bottle crashing, door banging, and police presence was unnerving. It made for a dreadful two-night stay. Plus, I just found out that they charged me for three nights of pet fee when our stay was just two.
Not a safe place. Junkies, drugs, and prostitution all evident in the parking lots in front and behind, and while walking by the rooms. Elevator had that sickly sweet odor of unwashed clothes and crack smoke. Not saying this to be mean and not being hyperbolic. I counted 4 junkies, 1 drug dealer, one possible pimp, and two old Seattle prostitutes on site. Got the stink-eye from the drug dealer as I walked to dinner across the parking lot. I felt sorry for the staff. This place suffers from one disadvantage in that it was designed in the 1950's, as a Howard Johnson's motor inn (which it once was - I stayed there as a child). The room doors all exit to the outside. Therefore they cannot control who comes and goes very well. Hence the attraction of criminals that used to be mainly concentrated along Seattle's infamous Aurora Avenue - aka “the strip.” As I say, I felt bad for the staff. I canceled my reservation and left. The front desk staff were nice, and asked if there was something wrong with the room when I returned the keys. When I told them that there were too many criminals around for my liking, they sheepishly apologized and said that they “tried their best.” Unfortunately, Seattle isn't what it once was. The young staff here were NOT the problem. Businesses have been fleeing Seattle for decades now. The police were defanged and declawed by a government and citizenry that are hostile to them. Crime thrives, spreads, and businesses eventually lose customers like me. I went to Bellevue and found a nice place to stay.
Clean room provided as advertised. Full, hot breakfast was advertised, but what you get is a COLD "grab and go" bag. Friendly staff. Quiet room in a convenient location. Near Northgate Mall and multiple restaurants.
Disappointed.. the website made this look like a very clean, hip, modern hotel. The lobby smelled like cigarettes. There were people smoking all over the place, including the staircase. Seemed like someone was just "living" in the lobby. I am shocked that this was $150... the staff were SUPER friendly and nice but it did not seem like I walked into a hotel. More like a hostel. Loud noises all night. Which is really too bad because I hear the restaurant next door is a very popular spot (didn't have time to go). If you just need a place to crash, and this location is what you need, then I say go for it. But if you want any type of "relaxation" or the normal hotel feel... this is not the place.
Just after checking in, we lost cable. It was a long evening. Woke up during the night, cold. No heat. No power. Of course, this went well into the next day. The staff did nothing to help the guests in any manner. I had to feel my way down 4 flights of dark stairwells to try to get some information. Then, once I figured out how to get into the dark lobby I was greeted with a marijuana stench, at 7am. I soon discovered that was commonplace though. No flashlights, no breakfast, no blankets, no water... No attempt whatsoever to help make us comfortable. Crawled to the car to get warmed up. It was completely icy outside. The sidewalks and the parking lot were treacherous. Yet, there were no employees outdoors shoveling or putting salt down to make it safer for the guests. The power was on everywhere else, I do mean everywhere. Across the street Mcdonald's and the convenience store were open as was the gas station directly next door to the hotel so, idk. There were very basic things that could have been done. I was staying in room 415 I believe, attached to my daughter's room where my grandbabies (3 yrs and 15 months) were freezing! Just an offer for some extra blankets for an emergency battery-operated lantern would have been amazing. A hotel is in the hospitality business. How can such a common event in Seattle, such as a loss of power, send everything into such a tailspin at Nexus? Shouldn't you be better prepared? Just getting the cars out of their steep parking lot was very dangerous with no attention given to the slush or ice. My husband and son-in-law were both physically assaulted by a man out front of the hotel. Same man, completely different instances. The man was out front screaming obscenities and approaching anyone who was out there for 2 days. We had to call to police after he laid hands on my husband demanding that he give him all of his tin foil. They got into an altercation. Now, shouldn't you have staff outside keeping the premises safe for your guests so they can move about safely? I didn't even put any of this in the survey. But today, when I saw the $100+ charge billed for damages to the room I became irate because we DID have to put up with so much while staying there. I guess I will have to update my survey with the totality of my experiences while staying at Nexus. I have no reason not to. It takes a lot of nerve to charge guests who were so inconvenienced during their stay yet remained patient and courteous always. We damaged nothing, heck we never even accepted housekeeping or went to breakfast. We were like church mice and even cleaned! PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE! IT'S NOT SAFE AND THEY WILL MAKE UP BOGUS CHARGES TO HIT YOU WITH A WEEK AFTER YOU LEAVE!
Central location near Northgate Light Rail. All rooms accessed through an interior lobby to outside halls and doors. Clean, comfortable room. Great, helpful staff. Large breakfast bag with juice, breakfast bar, apple, Chobani yogurt, bagel, cream cheese, and good coffee in the lobby. Nice stay! To access light rail, turn right at hotel exit, walk 100 yards to traffic light at Meridian Street, cross and continue on tree-shaded sidewalk about 0.6 miles to campus. Turn left (east) and use highway crossover to entrance of light rail terminal. Simple and safe!
I'm in a wheelchair and found the room too small, the bathroom not accessible because the doorway was too small to get the wheelchair in, the USB port and electric outlet not functional, the help not helpful. The room was clean and I left a tip for the cleaning staff, the best part of my stay.
Desk people were nice. We were very disappointed as the room was extremely LOUD and barren I wanted to wash my hair and there was NO hairdryer available. Called the office / front desk about 6 pm. By 8 pm there was no response so went to the desk and they said they would bring a hairdryer in the morning as the day crew had them locked up. They apologized. Never did get one. The inhabitants in the room above us was extremely loud all night. When we finally asked the office if they could call and ask them to quiet them down, nothing happened and I sincerely doubt they asked. This went on for several nights. Breakfast was a bagged breakfast but a large one. No transportation as was advertised except to the hospital. All in all would Not recommend this hotel. They did provide a free laundromat area you were confined into.
Location is about all this hotel has going for it. I went because my mom is in the hospital and I wanted to stay a night close by. This was the middle priced hotel in the area so I chose it thinking it would be comfortable. Staff was very nice, the front office is very clean and the stairwells are clean and well lit. The room was like a converted prison cell. There were patch jobs throughout the room that were patched and painted over, TV had a lean to it, the back of the remote was taped closed and only worked if you were directly in front of the TV, no channel guide, no lotion, had the 3 dispenser for the shower gel, shampoo and conditionerthat you received the tiniest amount of soap out of when you pushed the button and there was no kleenex in the room. Breakfast was a travesty. Went to the main lobby expecting the breakfast lobby to be open only to find that there was coffee carafes set up in the main lobby and the front desk attendant handed out breakfast bags. In the bag was a plain bagel that was so stale I couldn't even open it, a package of cream cheese, a half ripe apple, an oatmeal type breakfast cookie, a curdled vanilla yogurt and a small water. Parking lot was patrolled by security which I appreciated, but the parking spots were pretty cramped together so if you have a bigger rig be prepared to squeeze in and out. For the price it was very disappointing. I have stayed at the Marriott across the street and it was delightful, if you can afford it stay there. Otherwise there's a Comfort Inn up the road I'm going to try next time!
This hotel is great. Jason at the front desk is excellent - kind, intelligent, efficient, and friendly! I am a Diamond Select member and appreciate it when franchised hotels honor BW corporate privileges reserved for Diamond Select members, such as early check-in and upgrade (if rooms are available) and late check-out (if available). Unfortunately, not all BW franchised hotels adhere to BW corporate policies for BW Reward members, but this one does. Hence, I will return. The rooms were clean, security was on-site, and the location was close to downtown but far enough away not to get stuck in Seattle traffic.
The good - The staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean. It is close to shopping and other amenities which is nice, and was reasonably priced for being in town. They have done a pretty good job of cleaning up and updating an old motel to help it look nice and make it more welcoming, but it's still an old building. The grab and go breakfast was surprisingly better than I thought it would be and managed very well. Again, the staff does a great job! The not so good - The mattresses on both beds were squeaky so that every time you moved or even sat down they made noise. The location is ok, but there are homeless camps near the back fence of the rear parking area and by the highway that are visible from the outer walkways. This means folks milling around in front and back of the hotel. We also had problems with the odor of marijuana drifting into the room from the air conditioner so that we had to turn it off a few times, and through the bathroom vent so that we had to turn it on to clear the smell. Overall it's probably not a place that I would stay for vacation with the whole family, but on this occasion it served our purpose and I think it's pretty typical of most of the older hotels in Seattle. I am not sure where the "Signiture Collection" designation comes from or that it helps when reviewing this hotel. For me it seemed to underperform the title, so had it been more reasonably listed as "Sure Stay" I think I would have had a better idea of what to actually expect from the hotel when we stayed. In the end the stay was fine, and the staff is great, but there is a reason we typically stay outside of the city.
Although it's on a list for medical discount there really isn't one, they advertise but all it is added back on for taxes. When checking in the people at front desk didn't know there jobs!! Rooms were less then clean for a place for hospital patients... ( found black mold in picture hanging on wall ) when brought to attention to front desk just ignored and blew us off ( didn't even remove picture where mold was) When reserving room was told they needed cc but could pay others ways but when checking in couldnt use cash.....
If you need to stay in this area (Northgate) this is a clean and comfortable choice. The neighborhood seemed a little sketchy but the hotel parking lot was freshly paved, the room was clean, and the grab-and-go breakfast had a lot more food and variety in it than we expected. We did not hear other guests after 10:00 PM and slept well. No safety issues at all. Oh, we also were pleased to have a refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker in the room. We didn't use the coffeemaker but it was handy to have a nice-sized fridge so we could keep some groceries cool.
Dirty parking lot, security “hanging-out” at his car. The entire property reeked havoc of marijuana, people hanging out at their cars, no parking lot secure cameras. No vending in lobby. Never told about amenities or breakfast or dining. Old motel style. Nothing “signature” about this hotel. Very disappointed by Best Western. We traveled 5 days and used BW for all stays. This one was the most disappointing.
It's not a boutique hotel, despite the name. It's a basic, bare bones motel. No iron, no luggage stand. About the only things we liked were the location (really close to the Northgate station for the Link) and the Indian Restaurant in the parking lot.
Very nice hotel, nice suite with all the necessary appliances. Nice space for 5 people to sleep and be comfortable. It was nice to get the hotel to provide a shuttle to the cruise pier. We were lucky to get the price we got with Best Western App.
Do not waste your money staying here. Our room - which I unfortunately paid for in advance - felt like a room in a halfway house. Nothing - and I mean nothing - was remotely like it was advertised on the website. Was billed as a retro vibe hotel but was really a cheap crappy motel. Sparse, dirty room, no carpet, overly bright overhead lights (lamps didn't work). Holes in the sheets and comforters. We woke up at the crack of dawn to a maintenance person sanding a step outside our window. People who appeared to be from the nearby homeless encampment - complete with a large pit bull - appeared in the lobby on day 2 and appeared to know their way around. Staff tried to be helpful, which I appreciated, but you can't put lipstick on a pig lol.
Good clean rooms, great breakfast bags, easy to be near food & local transportation. Uber was able to locate us easily, walking distance to Mall & restaurants, friendly staff that were knowledgeable. Overall a great experience.
Stayed here to be close to UW Medical. The doors are on the outside so, this is a motel. A key card is required to access the stairs to other floors, but all the doors are exposed. Expensive, ok location, very noisy, room was dirty and smelled like mildew and smoke. Also there were little flying bugs. Front desk staff were nice.
It was very expensive for what you get. The rooms are fine. Just fine. You get a kitchen and a bathroom which is nice. And there is a guest laundry which is nice. There is a gym but you can't do much there. The breakfasts are terrible. Nothing is fresh. You get reheatable burgers, packaged pb and j sandwiches, a granola bar, fruit in a cup in syrup, a cup of apple juice, a muffin and some yoghurt. A lot but so extremely processed and unhealthy, terrible.
You have to request housekeeping a day in advance. There is no pool. There is no shuttle - the busses are parked. There is no breakfast - all gone. The room had flies. Our second room had flies. We had to go buy a fly swatter. Homeless camp nearby. Dirty. False advertising. Feels unsafe. Seattle is expensive but stay elsewhere.
The room was bare bones. I miss the carpeted floor. Other facilities were just fine. The staff at the hotel was friendly. We stayed for three days. The room was not cleaned at all. This was OK with us assuming we could get simple services on request. We asked for our trash to be removed, never happened.
Hotel overall had strange smell, dirty and not up to standard for BW. There were people doing hard drugs in the front, a homeless camp next door with drug use in the open. Room set up was fine but not what we usually experience with BW signature
I had a medical appointment so tried this Hotel since it was so close to the Hospital. I was very impressed with Jessica at the front desk. She was amazing and made you feel very welcomed. She was professional and friendly. The room was clean, along with the common areas. There is a restaurant right there too if needed which is convenient. The only complaint about my visit at this Hotel would be the parking spots. They are very narrow and difficult to get into. I drive a 2022 Toyota Highlander which isn't a huge vehicle but it caused a challenge to not get door dings the two nights we were there. Overall, I would recommend this place and I will most likely be making another stay in 6 months for another medical visit.
Every room had some fault or the other. Every. Single. Room. Maintenance was not a strong suit at this property since all the rooms had some faults where something or the other would not work at all or as intended. In the first two rooms that were provided to us, 1 room had a clogged bathtub with extremely slow drainage and the other had a clogged sink where water would not drain since the sink plug was stuck in the closed position. In a different room that we had to move to in the middle of the night, we encountered a faulty AC unit which could not be turned off at all. Even when we switched it off the fan would keep on running making a loud noise. When we told the staff the next morning they said that that was normal. We have stayed at other hostels including other best westerns and that is not normal. It seemed like this hotel had a very bad maintenance issue where every room had some problem or the other. During checkout the next morning the staff had to apologize to every single customer for some fault in all of their rooms. This is a shoddy state of affairs and is not representative of Best Western. Only good thing was that the rooms looked clean and that we were only booked for an overnight stay. Approx $200/night for rooms with non-functional equipment is not what i am looking for in any stay let alone best western. Please take initiative, listen to customer complaints and address these maintenance issues so that guests dont have to change rooms in the middle of the night. Although the staff at night was happy to offer us a change of rooms, given the state of affairs in all the rooms i doubt we would have found a single room with everything functioning as intended. P.S: Only 1 keycard was functional per room, the other one just wouldn't work. The breakfast was bagged and not great. The apple juice reeked of preservatives.
This place was dingy and creepy and feels very unsafe!! As soon as we walked into our room it smelled like bleach, felt like walking into a room where a crime scene took place earlier. Very sketchy location, there is a homeless camp behind the hotel and there is a large camper permanently in the parking lot (creepy and weird). There is also a 7/11 next door. There are numerous homeless/drug addicts pan handling in the parking lot. When we were checking in, we overheard a group of three construction workers mentioned to the front desk that someone walked into their room in the middle of the night! It turned out they double booked their room! The worse part was that you can every single step people take upstairs. This place has four floors and were on the third, you can clearly hear people walking around and talking, thin walls. This hotel is terrible. We have been BW members for over a decade, I can't believe BW considers this a part of their Signature Collection and that we paid $180 a night. I will definitely be calling corporate.
The bed in the room had bedbugs. We couldn't leave fast enough. I was told I would get a refund and did not. The front desk manager seemed very familiar with how bedbugs infest things and their bit patterns so this was not the first time he heard about them.
The hotel staff was all excellent, especially the front desk staff, who were very friendly, helpful with requests, and accommodating, including Gabriel, Deja, and Cindy, who are usually the morning front desk hosts. The price was reasonable, and the rooms were quiet and very clean. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!
This hotel is overpriced, dirty, in desperate need of updating, and has terrible service! We were told that we would receive bedding for the pullout couch and never received it. When I went to the front counter I was told that the attendant didn't have access to the bedding and that he would contact someone to have it sent upstairs to me. The room smelled of mold and was horribly uncomfortable and filthy. This hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade. The continental breakfast is a grab and go bag in which you don't get to choose the contents. Way overpriced for the value. I am surprised that best western associates with this hotel at all!
I was upgraded to a jacuzzi suite when they ran out of king beds. The room was quiet. There is also a security gaurd patrolling the parking area who helped us find a spot in front of our room which adds to your peace of mind.
The hotel room was pretty small, not that clean and really didn't feel very safe. The breakfast wasn't very good, but we don't care too much about that. My main concern was the lack of safety. But it is a hotel in Seattle.
My wife and I booked 6 nights. We lived 3 plus hours away and she had to have surgery and needed to be there a couple days before as well as after so we booked 6 nights in the biggest room. We never once got room service even though we hung the sign daily for room service. We even called a couple times and was told they would bring us towels, toilet paper and dump our garbages at least. Everytime returned at night it never happened. We left a day early because my wife was trying to recover and was getting frustrated about the whole situation. When brought up when leaving to front desk they told us due to covid we would have had to let them know and get a special door hanger....which we did let them know..and lf this were the case why werent they teling people at check in?. Not satisfied with this place. It was a large amount of money we spent. Also the couch and chair were disgusting, we did not even want to sit on it, and the top blankets had stains on both beds.
When we got to the hotel, the staff did not greet us with much friendliness. In fact, the member who greeted us initially tried telling us that they didn't have enough rooms when we ordered over a month in advance. Then when they sorted it out and we got to our room, we went to get into bed and it multiple piles of long human hair between EVERY layer of bedding. When we asked for new sheets they took about 30 minutes and we had to remake the bed. Very disappointing.
This hotel is extremely noisy. If you want a good sleep, don't stay here. Linen is worn and dated. No complementary shampoo, conditioner. Breakfast was a grab and go back. No fresh fruit. Coffee not ready.
No room clean upon arrival . No shampoo or body wash in shower and there were pincher bugs . People outside all night working on cars . The customer service was poor . The shower had water in it before we used it. So not sure it was cleaned.
My niece and I drove (7 hrs) for a scheduled surgery. This was our second time, within a month, to stay here. On our first visit we were impressed with the staff and location with easy on/off I-90 access to our hospital. The hotel's 'grab and go' breakfast was tasty, the internet was reliable, and all other items needed for our room were provided upon request. During our 8 night stay we were able to locate everything we needed (groceries, gas, restaurants) within a 2 mile radius. Included parking, access to the fitness room, and free laundry facilities are an added bonus. But the feature that really stands out is the excellent staff. Every request was answered with a smile and willingness to satisfy our needs. Thank you to your entire team. We will stay here again for our follow-up visit next month.
My husband was rushed to UW Northwest hospital from our home more than 3 hours away. Hotel Nexus is near the hospital so I booked three nights at a nonrefundable rate. Thankfully my husband only had to stay one night in the hospital but I didn't get checked out before check out time. The Hotel Nexus had every right to charge me for all three nights and at the very least two nights because I checked out late, but they only charged me for one night. Very kind people!! As for the room, it's an older building so the walls are thinner/less insulated, you can definitely hear your neighbors. The room was clean and my son and I had everything we needed. My only complaint was that the door (room 103) was difficult to open. The key card and sticky lock/door jamb made for a bit of a puzzle game to get back into the room. For me, it added much needed comic relief to an incredibly traumatic 48 hours.
The staff is Excellent at this Hotel. The rooms are clean and pretty well stocked with amenities. It's definitely worth staying here for the price. The outside of the hotel is clean and located close to several mini marts and stores.
I understand this isnt billed as a luxury hotel, and while staff and management cant control the qualiry of the rooms or amenities, they xan control the guest experience by saying, "yes, we can do that for you." The staff at the Nexus failed. When the outlet in my bathroom didnt work, i called the front desk who said "Wed have to calk maintenance." Then never called anyone or followed up. When i got downstairs 5 minute too late for thr coffee setup and asked if i could have some from the back, the answer was a curt no. When no one informed me housekeeping requests had to be made 24 hours in advance, and asked if they coukd schedule me in, instead of acknowledging they failed to give me axequate info, the front desk just said "no, we dont tell people that unless theyre staying 4 nights." I get staffing issues, and broken equipment, amd fire arms going off at 3am. But a this hotel had to do to make this stay great instwad of miserable was say "yes. We can do that." They failed, and id suggest staying elsewhere.
Room was fine staff helpful, but a drug dealer approached us there were hookers and restaurant next to us was good, but shower didn't work. Saffron grill has great food. It has a Indian/mederterai menu but also has american food.
If you don't mind hookers knocking on your door all night then this is the place for you can't forget the pimp screaming at them outside the door and him sitting in his car all night smoking his weed and keeping his ladies in check. The door had previously had some damage as the locks were busted off also. Not a safe place if you have kids. And they do not clean the rooms at all during your stay. They leave your clean towels on the ground outside your door. No service in 5 days I didn't even stay my last night that was paid for that's how horrible it was. Will NEVER be back.
Reasonable price for visiting Seattle. FREE parking and a shuttle that drops off 3 times a day during week days only at specific hospitals. Nice grab n go breakfast. I wonder if limited services were due to Covid 19? You can walk to outdoor mall-Ulta, Stanford's Restaurant and Barnes & Noble...Target. Pleasant stay. Doors to rooms slam.
The hotel, its staff, and amenities are decent and what you would expect. However, there is a homeless encampment adjacent to the highway right next door. Its inhabitants routinely wander the property and attempt to access the secondary doors leading to the guest floors. Additionally at least one prostitute was conducting business out of a first floor room that opens to the parking lot. Not safe, not for families.
The room was disgustingly filthy. Bad enough to complain. Worse, the accounting department charged the wrong Visa account, my granddaughter's! I attempted to get the mistake corrected. It never happened. I tried to contact the General Manager. He never responded. Then I wrote a certified letter to the CEO of 360Hotel Group and I never heard back. Obviously they don't care! I just wanted them to correct their error. Not rocket science! I waited to write this review, hoping for a response. Don't do business with Nexus, Townplace Suites, Springhill Suites, both in Bellingham, Staybridge Suites, Mukilteo,Navigator Inn,Everett or Hampton Inn, Lynnwood. All are owned and managed by 360 Hotel Group. If the CEO is non-responsive about one property, it might hold true for all!
I booked a room months ahead of time. Two hours before our arrival, I was notified the room I booked wasn't available. We were moved to a different room. We didn't stay the night, and even booked another hotel within 15 minutes of our stay. The floor was tile throughout which is very uncomfortable. The furniture was moved around and away from the walls. Our heat/ac unit made an awful whine/clunking noise the entire time. Probably the worst of all, the walls are PAPER thin.. we could hear others whispering in the room next to us. There were doors that were available to open into other rooms on not one, but two walls. One of which was right next to the bathroom! This also made us very uncomfortable.
I walked into our room it smelled like rotten wet carpet and smelled really bad the pictures posted above was nothing like the room!! Very very filthy and around 11pm fighting and scuffling from the homeless drugged out ppl. Sorry but I won't even rate this place
Why stay at a regular hotel with a variety of amenities, working items, responding hotel room service and privacy when you can stay at the Motel of Hotels, the Nexus in Seattle. The front desk staff was great, the room service staff was a little confused or lacked communication. We had to move during our stay and actually considered leaving the hotel. One jetted room looked really worn down, maybe skipped during renovation and the other was in much better condition but had previous clients items in the room and even blood or makeup on the covers. Come on Nexus! Get it together.
Got trapped by pictures I saw online that looked new and modern, but this hotel is actually old. Walls are not repaint, old furnitures and the cleanest in the room need more improvement. Your house keeping didn't even wipe the chair so I end up using bunches of disinfecting wipes to clean it by myself and guess what? The wipes are black. It freaks me out more that I used all my wipes to wipe down all the locks, tables, linen, and pillows before I feel safe to sleep in there.
OVER PRICED- Should be the 40$ a night!!! 170$ is a JOKE!!! Not reflective of what you actually get- Buy chicken and get liverwurst! Water was dripping from the ceiling, Hookers and drug deals all day and night, Heater/Air Conditioner was so loud was able to use to block party noise that was going on all night, arguing and yelling, NO ONE CARES- THIS IS A PARTY HOTEL- Hookers, Druggies, Not for traveling- I made the hugest mistake when I mixed up ALderwood mall with Northgate in a hurry- HUGE MISTAKE- Gross, Disgusting and still feel dirty.. My boyfriend got some kind of bite on his stomache- we shall see how that turns out.. YIKES_ STAY THE HECK AWAY _ DANGER BEWARE!!! The bed was hard as a brick wrapped up in sheets- overall not happy
As a Best Western signature hotel I would have expected a better facility. The staff is very friendly but the property is in need of some tlc! Older hotel renovated to an attempted boutique… Would not stay again
Seedy hotel at best. Homeless encampment. Addicts begging you for $. They will give away your room if you don't check in by 4. But won't answer the damn phone so you can tell them you will be 15 min late.
During COVID, I expect a hotel to honor its commitments. It claims the staff is all wearing masks and cleaning regularly. They were not. While I understand towel service and housekeeping is suspended during these times, I do expect them to clean trash out of the hallways. Bugs and vermin were crawling into my room because the hallways were so disgusting. Although they no longer allow smoking in the rooms, they allow smoking in the hallways which of course gets into the room. Our room REAKED of smoke and mildew so bad that we couldn't wear some of our clothes to a family event. Just a night in that room and we stunk. Fortunately, we were able to shower and buy some new clothes. Right in front of our room there was a drug deal going down and a family member was solicited for sex. Fortunately, my mask held my shock in. The rooms look nothing like the pictures. Maybe there is one room that looks like that. There is no pool despite the ad.
Our room was pretty bad. The carpet was dirty, there was scotch tape with wrapping paper stuck to it all over the ceiling and walls, the couch was dirty, some of the furniture was sticky and dirty. If you used two appliances at the same time i.e. fridge and microwave it would trip the breaker and nothing would work... so without realizing it our fridge stopped running and our milk spoiled. The pull out sofa bed had sheets but no comforter. We also only had two sets of towels for three people. I called down to get the comforter and towels and no one ever brought them up. I called a second time and about an hour later they brought them (the front dest was rude about the second call this was about 6 hours after the first call). There was garbaged piled in the doorways of the elevator entrances and the elevator smelled like garbage. The outside of the hotel is very noisy with random people wandering through the parking lot at all hours of the day and night (I'm not sure what they can do about that). I've stayed at this place a three different times because it's close to the venue I work at while I'm in Seattle. Each time I've stayed there it's gotten worse.
Neighborhood is not nice, road nice from Hwy 5 is incredible, saw an apparent prostitute as we pulled-in and 2 more leaving the room next door. Property is a roadside motel called a "hotel" despite doors on open corridors facing parking lots. Lobby is ok and staff is fairly personable but people staying there were unpleasant. Smoking in stairwells, dilapidated rooms, just nothing good to be said about a place charging a pretty high rate per night. Hairs on walls in bathroom and shower.
The owners of this hotel need to invest some money in a remodel. The first room we were put in (myself and my 10 year old son) was so dirty, the carpets are beyond stained and I couldn't even take my shoes off. The smell of carpet deodorizer made us nauseous. The minute I walked into the room my breathing and lungs were thick and affected by the air. The paint on the walls were streaked and the dirt on the walls was ridiculous. This room looked like a place a person would stay on the way to a half-way house being released from prison. They did move our room, but the inconvenience and the experience of seeing this disgusting side of the hotel ruined our trip. I spent ALL of my reward points (that I earned and paid a lot of money staying at Best Westerns and being a loyal customer) for an end of summer trip with my child and this was the experience!!! Totally unacceptable.
Super easy access to UWMC/I-5/food but the location is also a bit close to Aurora Ave. If you're familiar with Seattle you'll understand why that could be not ideal. That being said, it's rough around the edges, but everything was clean, there was always parking in front of our room, it was surprisingly quiet, and the staff were great. Great internet strength, used my Fire stick in the TV the whole time I was there. Doors all face outside so unless you need the elevator you don't have to walk in closed hallways. They have luggage carts in the lobby behind the registration desk, you just have to ask for one. Staff were all masked (indoors and out) during "business hours" but not necessarily in the evening in the lobby. Guests are all supposed to be masked inside the common areas of the hotel. About 70% of them were. FYI. Negatives? Beds were super hard and uncomfortable, not much give to them and after five days I was glad to go home. Close to being a little sketchy if you're used to a more traditional Best Western, but I never felt unsafe and I was alone the majority of the time. It's like they kind of updated some stuff, but not everything in the room, so a weird mix of Best Western style furniture and crappy carpet and in need of a coat of paint. The A/C worked great (it was hot out) but could get loud sometimes. It was really smoky from forest fires outside so the room was smelly because the air intake wasn't good air, but that's not the hotel's fault! It was worth staying just because of how easy it was to get around, but I'm not sure I'd stay there if I didn't have other reasons to.
We just returned from a very disappointing stay at Hotel Nexus Seattle. Aside from the smoke free room reeking of smoke, the room was dirty, bore no resemblance to what was portrayed on the website, appliances were broken and amenities listed on the website were unavailable. We specifically booked this hotel because of the pool listed, but upon arrival we went to the pool to find it covered. I inquired at the front desk and they said the pool was "under maintenance" and wouldn't be open anytime soon. It in fact appeared to not be maintained at all since maybe last season. Other factors in our decision were the full hot breakfast included in the fees, and the restaurant & bar located in the lobby. The restaurant/bar was all closed up and locked down despite dining restrictions being lifted within the state and county, and the full hot breakfast advertised was replaced with a brown paper bag breakfast that included 2 granola bars, an orange, a bottle of water, and a plastic cup of orange juice. My kids are both physically disabled so the lack of a pool meant there was absolutely nothing to do without travel, the need to travel for meals, and the fact that they were unable to eat anything within the replacement breakfast (they are gluten free, nothing except the orange and water were ok for them) lead us to review this place to save another family the disappointment. I did take my concerns to the front desk who switched our room, but all the rooms were exactly the same. I also left a message with the corporate manager on Thursday at check in but they have not responded as of this email. I am attaching some pictures of the "improved" room. It also included a grease stained top sheet complete with full handprints, but housekeeping quickly replaced it with a clean one upon request. Overall this was a motel with hotel pricing. Don't go by Facebook photos and their hotel website, which are entirely misleading - look for guest photos.
I have never felt more ripped off staying at a hotel than I do right now. Last night, I paid $196 to stay here at Hotel Nexus to get a small room with AC and an outdoor POOL! I was really looking forward to it. Yet, the pool has been closed, not maintained for who knows how long. It's a heat wave 95 deg & the AC is nice but don't lie to people and show pics of your pool from the 1990s. Claiming to have a pool is a very misleading thing to advertise. And the hotel is full since many people don't have AC and they are suffering in the heat and smoke from wild fires in WA, OR & CA. To add insult to injury, they gave us an old smokers room. Awesome. Their snack machine in the lobby is broken too, just sayin. Avoid this dumpster fire.
Adequate Room for the Money. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, FRIENDLY helpful staff. Easy access to UNIVERSITY Hospital. It's very convenient to Target, freeway I-5. In the middle of remodeling. That's good because our room was still stinky from years of smokers! I think animals are a cleaner!
Front desk and cleaning staff get 4 stars with their polite attitude and helpful service. Hotel and management get a 1/2 star due to the fact prostitution is happening at the hotel, illegal hard drugs being shot up outside on the property, a man was watching pornography on the computers in the business center next to the front desk and the bare minimum of maintenance is being done in the rooms. Pictures of the rooms on the website are not accurate as our room as our room had mold on the ceiling shower, the AC leaked all over the carpet so the room smelled damp and mixed with cigarette smoke. Stairwells wreaked of human urine and the elevator ceiling panels were broken and falling down.
I am a Diamond Select BW member, which means that I travel a lot and stay at a lot of BWs across the country. This is the worst BW I have stayed at; and it's supposed to be part of their Signature collection! Old, dated, and smelly hotel rooms. I'm sure the rooms were clean but it is so old and smelly that it felt dirty. This hotel really feels like a roach motel. Worst part, there is no hot breakfast; just a terrible snack in a sack (apple, tiny water bottle, and a weird oatmeal cookie). I have stayed at tons of BWs during the pandemic across the western US and this is the only one that doesnt offer a hot breakfast. All in all, I would not stay here again.
Fast and friendly check in. Pet Friendly and we were given a ground floor in the back for a more quiet stay. It was not quiet and I didn't get any sleep the first night. I listened to the AC units in the adjacent rooms click on and off all night. The bed was clean and comfortable but the pillows left a lot to be desired. Only two towels were provided and two wash cloths. We had to go to the front desk for toilet paper and Kleenex. The floor wasn't very clean and a big lock of hair and dirt came out from under the AC. Breakfast was a paper bag with an apple and two crustless peanut butter sandwiches. The second day was a paper bag with a bagel, sausage, and cheese sandwich AND a peanut butter and jelly crustless sandwich and apple. There are no grassy areas for your dogs. There were some strips along the walk with some rubber mulch and a lot of cigarette butts. There is really no place to walk your dog. We went to the back of the building in the parking lot where there were two raised dirt areas that was covered in dog poop. Doggy bags for dog poo were available close by. It would seem that hookers use this hotel as a brothel as I saw several coming and leaving in the back of the hotel. I really didn't feel safe after dark outside the hotel. I am confident I won't be staying there again.
The hotel was clean and nice the staff was friendly and helpful But the local prostitution problem was clearly evident some whering praticially no clothing it made for some interesting questions from my children
The Nexus in Seattle, Wa should be removed from the Best Western entity . I stayed here previous to this trip and that stay was poor as well. I would not in all good concience recommend anyone to Nexus for any type of stay.
This place is absolutely awful. Uncapped hypodermic needles everywhere, used condoms outside rooms, sticky hallways filled with trash and vermin digging through said trash. Our neighbor chain smoked outside our door for our whole stay and threw the lit cigarettes off the balcony, at one point almost hitting me and my daughter with one as we were getting back from a walk. Stairways are filled with random clothing, towels, trash and reek of urine. Kids screaming and people working on their cars in the parking lot. Sketchy people everywhere. Not to mention the pool is closed in June when the temperature is 108 degrees. Do not book here. I can't believe this place charges more than Motel 6. 3 star rating for this place is absurd.
I didn't want to put this in a review, but there appears to be no way to send this in an email to management. I hope they get this info through this path. We often have stayed at the Nexus for a weekend get-away. We like the spa tubs, convenient access to local attractions, and reasonable prices. This trip, however, we were disappointed in our experience. o The carpets were removed from the spa room. o The floors were very dirty, causing our bare feet to track dirt into the shower and tub. o Items were poorly repaired and/or finished. o Unknown substances were found in the trash can. o Hotel was noisy at night. I felt like I had rented a room at a dorm. o Staff were friendly but seemed unsure of themselves. o It appeared the cleaning staff was very much overloaded. o I had many bites over my legs when I woke up. I think the culprit was fleas. I do hope things improve as we have enjoyed our stays in the past.
I just wanted to commend the Hotel Nexus Seattle property for their wonderful care of patients and their families. Their focus on accommodations for UW Medicine, with a special rate, shuttle, and compassionate staff help make stressful situations more bearable. From the offer of a jetted tub room to understanding I was in public and waiting until check-in to take financial information to helping with simple tasks even as shifts ended, the staff were exceptional!
The staff here went above and beyond to take care of me. They were patient, kind, and willing to help no matter what obstacles seem to pop up. They did whatever they could to make sure I was taken care of and had a nice comfortable place to rest after my doctor's appointment. Because of their superb customer service I was able to get the rest I needed before my long journey back home. Thank you Bridget, Jason, Gene, and Deja!
The whole parking lot was blocked off, the few spots they had were taken. Some taken by homeless people sleeping in their cars, one spot in as taken by a car with bullet holes, I he room wasn't clean clean(looks as if they cleaned the center of the bed ion but not the corners, needles in their parking lot, homeless people lingering around vehicles and guests, I would recommend hiring security. Was advertised as having new beds but were rock hard. We came for my husbands 50th. I called a week ahead and was never once told, at least, about the parking situation.
Beautifully kept large rooms friendly staff would for sure stay again and recommend it to friends and family close to shopping and plenty of restaurants. Easy on easy of the freeway and close to downtown
The pictures and descriptions online make the hotel appear a lot nicer than it actually is. I wish I had realized this and paid a little more to stay elsewhere, which is why I'm writing this review. The location was not very convenient and I didn't realize how limited the shuttle service is so we weren't able to use it. We stayed in airbnbs prior to this hotel and felt like we got a much better value with our other stays. Our room had a really bad, strong smell that grossed us out and it did not air out. The breakfast is currently to-go bags with uncrustable pb&j sandwiches, a small water bottle, an orange juice, and a yogurt. To get to our room, we had to go outside and down some stairs with our luggage. Not the worst hotel but definitely not one I would recommend staying at., especially considering there were plenty of other hotels with slightly higher rates but higher quality.
Stay away. The maids made so much noise as to make half the day completely worthless for the guest. They make life no different than just being homeless people, like their family, down in the park. I did a chargeback on the entire stay. Don't walk, run away from this hellhole.
Offers a very comfortable and pleasant stay for the price. I highly recommend it. A few snack shops and a restaurant close by. Shopping can a mile or less away. I had no trouble getting a taxi or Uber.
Right off interstate 5, easy off and back on. Close to downtown. Lot's of dinning options and delivery. The rooms were clean and nice. Plenty of plugs for all my devices. They offer breakfast and coffee in the morning at the lobby.
I stay at the Nexus fairly often when I need a break. The hydrotherapy tub rooms are great for relaxing and resetting, but the overall quality of the rooms is declining. The paint on the ceiling and bathroom is stained and peeling, which I can sort of understand since the room is subject to a lot of moisture from the tub. But this time, the lock plate was broken, the mini-fridge didn't work (and ruined the food id brought), and they added an extra night to my bill even though I actually checked out early.
The hotel is really visually appealing when you see it pulling into the parking lot. It sets an expectation that you are getting a quality stay. This is partially true. Pros - Very nice staff -Super speedy check in (I checked in in advance via the website) - The Hydrotherapy tub is amazing. Just spring for it. Great way to unwind after a long day. -The breakfast is pretty good. Cons - It's LOUD! Despite the appealing exterior, the hotel is really cheaply built. I could hear every word my neighbors said. I heard every hospitality cart that rolled by. I heard every step taken above me. And I heard every car on the street. **You can fix a lot of this by requesting a room on the back side of the hotel where there is less foot traffic. Maybe consider earplugs if you're a light sleeper.** -Minor thing but they could leave some instructions on how to use the Hydrotherapy tub. It took me a while to figure out how to turn it off. And once I figured it out, I nearly emptied my bowels when the pump came back on to clear out the pipes half an hour later! **Tip: press the logo button on the control panel to turn it off. And expect a terrifying spray of water about half an hour after you empty the tub.**
Came it at 6am, receptionist by the name of Jane, she's wearing eyeglasses, was working a nightshift, yet, still very hospitable, professional and upbeat. I was left with a positive impression! Me and my wife was very delighted.
On Novemberr 9th we had an upsettting stay at the Nexus BW on Northgate Ave north of. Seattle, The premises was littlered with trash and dog waste. The bathroom door could not close because it was too big for the frame. There was a utiltiy panel hanging off the wall. There was a lack of toiletries including no wash cloths, The neighbor hood was apparently less than desireable. Homeless people were all about the place and noisy until 2 am. The walls are like sounding boards. We could hear the upstairs room and the room next to us. We called the front desk twice, but no action was taken. We are BW members, but we will think again before staying with BW next time.
This hotel is located in a busy parking lot. It was very noisy the entire night. Loud voices, doors slamming, loud music, etc. We left two days early. At checkout, the only other guests in the lobby voiced the same complaints.
no toilet paper, lamp didnt work, fan in bathroom sounded like a truck, coffee maker didnt work, manager at the front desk was very rude and refused to compensate me. didnt give a bath bench like requested.
I mean the title says it all. I went to go stay here yesterday and had to ask for a refund about three hours after arriving. My girlfriend and I were celebrating my birthday while enjoying the jetted tub. When I noticed small bugs crawling all over my iPhone and on the edge of the tub my and my girl were in. The lady at the front desk was very professional and issued the refund. I'd suggest caution while staying here check your rooms for bugs. Not only that if they didn't find the bugs while cleaning how well do you think their COVID-19 measures are actually going to work for you.
I really enjoyed the shower .the décor of the room was nice. Very quiet environment around a neighborhood with convenient stores around where you can buy whatever you need. The environment is also clean something that you often not see around most 3 star hotels
I stayed at the Nexus which was close to the hospital where I was having a medical procedure done. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was super friendly. They provided me with free rides to and from the hospital and a few other places I needed to go to. Due to COVID, the hotel cannot provide the usual hot breakfast buffet but instead provides easy grab and go items, which is fine with me. Rather be safe than sorry. I've stayed at the hotel several times due to its location and have had great experiences each time. With COVID restrictions in place guests need to be more flexible. The services the hotel provides have changed to keep hotel staff and guests safe. All hotels have changed their processes and guests need to realize that.
I'm never staying here again. The check in was supposed to be shorter because I did the pre-register check in online but it took about the same amount of time. Wasn't even the receptionists' fault, they gave her slow computers. She was also the only one working to check in over 100 guests. I never saw more than one concierge during my entire stay. I was in a hot tub room that cost way too much since the jets weren't even that strong, even at the highest setting, and were only on the bottom so it wasn't very massaging either. I also received no instruction on how the things worked and it would turn on jets in the middle of the night, waking me up! When I first walked in the room it wasn't the cleanest. I found hair on my bed, there were black flakes in the tub, and the glass of the shower wasn't the cleanest. The alarm hadn't been reset before our arrival and I was woken up at both 7a and again at 11a. The remote control was the hardest to use. The buttons needed to be pressed very hard to do anything and I couldn't hook up my Chromecast to make it better because of the WiFi. The door handle to the room broke, almost trapping us inside. Service was terrible. I had to take more towels off of the cart that had been outside of the room next to me for over an hour. I don't know where the housekeeper went. And the continental breakfast? Just two oranges, two nature valley bars, and one of those small water bottles placed in a paper bag. The location of the hotel is horrible. You're close to a very busy street and will hear cars the whole time. Not to mention it's so close to different businesses that you'll constantly hear them wheeling their trash to the dumpster while they try stare at you and into your room. Why did I pay $300 for a cold breakfast, poor service, no sleep, and a hairy bed??? I'm never coming back here. Hotel Nexus has really gone downhill since being picked up my Best Western. Can't blame COVID for this level of bad service.
Our experience at this hotel was excellent, and at a reasonable price. The room and bed were comfortable, with all amenities. Staff were helpful and friendly. An outstanding international restaurant was just across the parking lot. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely return again.
Our room was absolutely disgusting! Stains on the floor, mirrors, towels, even blood on the walls. It smelled horrible!! We even found what looked to be pills laying on the floor up under our bed. Which I w quickly grabbed with toilet paper and threw it in the garbage. There were Prostitutes walking up and down outside our doorway all night.
Peter & Mandy made my stay excellent. They quickly accommodated if something went wrong. I even watched them use their professionalism in action with other customers! They were courteous, empathetic & efficient. The epitome of Great Customer Service. Give Peter Smiley (the GM) his credit.
I have stayed here in the past and it was decent. Recently however, things have gone down hill. I stayed at the hotel due to it's location, the same reason why I have stayed there previously. Upon arriving, the room that I was given smelled of cigarettes, I went back to reception where they switched me to a different room, no problems. This new room was filthy. I immediately stuck to the floor with some unknown stickiness. There were ants crawling all around the inside of the door threshold and it had looked like no one had vacuumed since the last guest. The hotel is older, so the rooms are not the greatest. They have been updated, but it looks as though the "updates" were done cheap and fast. The icing on the cake was all the hair I found in the bathroom and the clump of black hair I found as I unfolded my "new" towel to dry off after my shower. Safe to say I probably won't chose this hotel next time I'm in the area.
Lousy excess from the street. Two guest in the room one chair provided. one very small trash bin in the room One wash cloth for two guest and one hand towel. Had to call two days in a row for clean towels, the second day we had no room cleaning at all.
Every titrav stay at the Hotel Nexus I am treated with the upmost respect and receive excellent customer service. Christine Kim and Mandy were both so good to me while I was there, I always enjoy my stay. I was picked up at the hospital by the Front Desk Maneager, Bridgit - the staff here always go above and beyond! I feel safe and comfortable and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. I highly recommend staying at the Nexus Hotel.
Upon check in the room was filthy my friend bought cleaning stuff and spent hour cleaning the room .I told front desk and of course she is limited to what she can do.well i go back and go to shower and my tub was filthy like never cleaned so again I'm at the front desk and th gm Peter came and cleaned it and say some one must of broken into the room and showered so there went my feeling of security like now it feels like I've had my home robbed you would of thought they would of discounted our room or refunded or given us a free night but not even very disapointed
This location is great for UW Medical Center, close to downtown, quiet area. The customer service is fantastic. Christine Kim went above and beyond to help us out during our sister's death and dying during Covid-19. We had to book at last minute, then cancel at last minute, then book again at last minute. She managed all of it in a most professional and compassionate way. We had used this hotel many times over the past year for UW medical visits. With the death and the quarantines, it was just so great to have someone help us in our stress and grief. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The Saffron restaurant next door is a wonderful and delicious bonus!
The room was very clean. I liked the hard wood laminate flooring. There was no carpet. The bed was comfortable, not to hard, and not too soft. They had free laundry use if needed to use it. The heater worked well and kept the room warm. It was VERY quiet. The curtains kept the light out.
We enjoyed our time at Hotel Nexus. The staff there had been amazing and always assisted us immediately and professionally. Roella and Matthew was just amazing. Highly recommend this Hotel! Thank you!
Very nice clean rooms, good breakfast buffet. Front desk agents are very professional. I would come back. They really tried to accommodate my needs. Overall pretty quite eventhough we had the street facing room.
The staff here is rude especially the short haired one that argues with everything said to her and thinks she is better than everyone else. This is somewhere I have stayed several times and never been treated as badly as this stay she is rude crude and ignorant I'd never stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone.
I really like staying here when I am in the area, it is clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and it is centrally located to a large area around Seattle. The only complaint I have is that there is an awesome restaurant in the same parking that is popular so parking can be a little tight during the restaurants busy hours.
Wonderful place to stay very clean rooms, Bar n Grill right on site, 2 gas stations across the street, Starbucks, doughnut shop on the same block, they have shuttle's free of charge, very friendly staff and good continental breakfast
1st impression was other people's belongings left on the floor of my "clean" room. Worst and last impression was a visibly Intoxicated tweaker clucking out on the internet with his nasty hands for hours, going in and out of the building repeatedly. They have redone the outside of the building and maybe a little bit of the inside too, makes it look Art Deco and stuff like that but it leaves you with a grimy feel when your room is nasty and so are the people allowed in the building. I was there for a medical appointment and I noticed that there were multiple clients there who are there for medical appointments or surgeries Etc. I can guarantee you that having tweakers running about the building when they are high on drugs is not a healing place for people when they are there for medical reasons. Having a dirty room is not okay for people who are staying there for medical reasons, especially after surgery. I think the theme Here is that you need to clean it up a bit. Stop buying new furniture and more Art Deco stuff and start getting down to the details of what actually makes your hotel dirty. I might as well have stayed in Motel 6 because that's where I felt like I was staying.
Staff was extremely helpful and sympathetic to the reason for my last minute travel plans. They were wonderful and the room was comfortable and clean. I will definitely be staying here again and would recommend them to anyone!
Keysha was very polite and helpful. She knew a lot about the area and must see attractions. She also told us about the restaurant in the same parking lot, and gave us some suggestions on what to order. The room we stayed in was nice but a little bland, bed, tv, desk, nothing special. The breakfast is ok, it's hot and there is a variety. The evening front desk staff was very responsive and helpful to all of our requests and that is what made us enjoy our stay the most. We'll be back.
We had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Nexus, we have been going there for the past 10 in a half years now and watching the changes of the lobby and staff. Although the staff changes, their welcome greetings and great service doesn't change. Staff is always helpful when we stay at Hotel Nexus.
Verry nice hotel from check in to the rooms vary clean and breakfast was great and sowda was very helpful!! Parking was easy. And it has a restaurant right next door.we were up on the 4th floor and housekeeping did a wondrous job cleaning our room. Front desk was very professional and instructive.
This is the second time I have stayed at this property because the first time was outstanding experience. This time not so much. I am getting angry just writing this review reliving the experience. Everybody at the front desk especially Mandy were very professional and pleasant and quick to recognize me as a Diamond Elite Member, which is always nice. I spend at least 200 days a year in hotels, so it matters. Now for the part that makes me angry. Upon check in I always inspect the beds, bedding and towels to make sure they are fresh. At this check in I did my normal routine, pulling back blankets to find several hairs from previous occupant and what is obvious wrinkles from previous person. I complained and it was made right, with a fresh sheet change. During a two week stay I ask for a full room service only on day 7, and leave my trash outside the door, get my own towel exchanges when needed etc. I should be a housekeeper's dream. I also mark the bottom sheet of my bedding to make sure the housekeepers are doing their job so I can calculate the size of their tip upon check out. Day 7 arrives, expecting a full service I leave for the day of work and arrive to what appears to be a fully cleaned room. Oh no, there it is, my little writing, on the bottom sheet. Look, don't try to pull the wool over my eyes. Housekeeping didn't do her job as she should have. There were still pieces of paper on the floor, stickiness on the bath counter, etc. Yes, the towels were changed, some air freshener sprayed in the room, and the bed straightened, but that was it.Of course I mentioned it to the front desk, who were apologetic enough and remedied the problem. The soap, conditioner and shampoo is is a dispenser on the wall in the bath, towels were thick and fluffy, bed was firm with several pillows of different firmness. Wall air/heat unit worked wonderfully. Breakfast was the typical fare, but the highlight is the cinnamon french toast. I nice change from waffles. Rooms in the back of the hotel are more quiet, and away from the smells of the restaurant that shares the parking lot. Parking can be limited on the weekends especially because they share the lot with that eating establishment. Internet was fast and reliable. They have a big advertisement bill board in the lobby for the restaurant and their guide t.v. channel advertises the place as well. A simple suggestion, they should work with the place and get the guest a discount.
It's a decent hotel. Clean. Friendly, helpful staff. Later checkout is nice. However, be sure to ask the total, final price before they run your card. I was quoted $120/day, but charged well over $300 for two days.
Mandy at the front desk is amazing with her knowledge and service and in the complimentary breakfast Sowda does an amazing job of serving the needs. Both are always smiling and happy to help with most needs that help serve the needs of your stay. They are always professional and dress accordingly. It's always an enjoyable stay plus they have apples at the front desk great for those busy after breakfast snacks for a boost of energy.
I come here to this hotel every 3 months for drs. Every time I come the stay is great. From the check in to check out, everyone is very accommodating and helpful. The rooms are always very clean and it's so accessible to my drs at Udub and downtown Seattle.
The room was clean but the shower was broken so I couldn't use it and I was told the manager was going to call me but I never heard form anyone. And I have to wonder how clean the shower was if it couldn't be turned on in the first place.
The breakfast was awesome. Sowda was so helpful and very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were cleaned daily. We stayed from Nov. 8th to Feb. 13th. My mom was in a skilled nursing home in Seattle, and the front desk asked about her almost every day. I would recommend this hotel to any one.
This facility was very clean and centrally located to all the places I had to go. The staff was very gracious and friendly. They had on premises security which was reassuring. The bed was a little too firm but okay.
The Nexus was a good fit for us for the price and location. We appreciated the friendly staff, laundry and fitness facility, lobby internet availability, visible security guard, central location and ample parking. There was some road noise at night and the boiled eggs at breakfast tasted like rubber, but other than that we were happy with the continental breakfast, room, service, and hotel in general.
We needed a place to stay for a night, birthday weekend in Seattle with a few more out of town guests than expected. Very pleasant surprise for the cleanliness without being overly fragrant which is huge bonus. We would stay here again.
Thankfully I didn't pay for this stay, the company that I was temporarily working for did. Apparently they put us up here because of a personal connection to the owner & they got a good deal in the rooms/business space. This MOTEL has not been truly updated in quite a while. By the way...the proper name should be MOTEL Nexus, due to the fact that this property has EXTERIOR CORRIDORS. You open the door to your room to the great outdoors, not a nice safe, dry interior hallway. The tile on an bench in the room was cracked, the bathroom fixtures were falling apart, the art on the walls had been damaged. There was a horrible draft coming through the door (you could see daylight through the threshold). The best part (sarcasm) was an ice maker caught fire on the 2nd floor so we had to be evacuated one morning. After the fire department left, the employees just hung an 'out of service' sign on it. The beds were very hard, the breakfast was lacking & was typically cold no matter how early you got there. If I ever go back to the Seattle area, there is no way I would ever stay in this motel again.
We had a function in Seattle and needed a place to stay, this was a perfect location. We also brought our dog and it was pet friendly hotel which made it nice and stress free. The room was spacious, clean and updated. We would stay here again if needed.
Have stayed here previously and was one of the deciding factors in a 3 day/2night stay with family from out of town. Nicely located to local events and easy freeway access both north and south bound on Interstate 5 near the Northgate Mall.
When you travel and get off the plane and your next stop is the hotel, it makes a huge difference and It makes it great when you have a great place to stay. Hotel Nexus is one of them places. The Service is awesome and they go that extra mile to make sure you are satisfied.
The check in process was top notch with the sweetest staff. The room was clean and had all of the amenities to make my stay comfortable. Check out was easy. Hotel was close to lots of great restaurants. Skip the Starbucks across the street and go up the road. But that has nothing to do with the hotel.
Very pleasant staff. Clean units. Has a motel feel but upscale. A lot of medical patients travel here from Alaska. Overall good mix of guests who are low middle social-economic status. Northgate shopping has closed but try malls to north of city.
Staff very accommodating in providing us a room at last minute and treating us well. Recommendation of next door grill was perfect. Very good food and efficient service. Outdoor parking and breakfast provided. Only short coming was food quality and available space at breakfast.
A nice update to the old Nexus Hotel. My only disappointments are they have no folder in the room outlining amenities, local restaurants, emergency procedures, where the ice/vending machines are, etc. Also, they don't have a very good dog walk area - about a 4 x 8 triangle of gravel. Fido wasn't impressed.
Our 2nd stay at Nexus was just as great at the first visit several years ago. The staff is terrific; accomodating, responsive and effficient. We made a special request at time of reservation, and that request was fulfilled. Full breakfast, work out space add to the positive experience, Great value! We'll be back.
please get a couple waffle makers for the continental bfast, in the morning and you guys will be crushing it. stayed in a bubble tub room, not too shabby. was on a work trip with my girl and she really enjoyed that!
Friendly staff, easy quick check in & check out. Clean nice room with comfortable beds. Free breakfast with eggs waffles bacon, Bagels, fruit, Juice & coffee, too! Excellent dinning at Safron Restaurant right on the property Excellent stay!
We've stayed here twice now, both times when we were in town for medical appointments at the University of Washington Medical Center. It isn't fancy, but it's clean and comfortable and the front desk staff have always been friendly and helpful (this time the young lady from Hawaii at checkin and Mandy at checkout). The breakfast was fine and the parking lot was well-lit. Incidentally, the restaurant right in front of the hotel, the Saffron Grill, was very nice.
I've stayed at the Nexus many times and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Some times the parking can get tight esp. for someone like me with a large truck. As the Saffron grill, located next door starts winding down parking gets easier. Being close to shopping, restaurants , the hospital and I-5, It's my first choice when I go to Seattle.
Room was good. Location was great. Staff were nice and friendly. The front desk called to check that everything was good with my room. The complimentary breakfast was a good way to get the day started.
This is your basic motel. It is, however, in a convenient location with easy ingress and egress. it has very quick access to I-5. Sadly, most of the Northgate Mall, just down the road, has been utterly obliterated. The breakfast is far below "basic!" Go across the street to Starbucks, or next door to McDonalds.
We stayed here so I could go the Northwest Hospital which is a 10 minute walk away. The staff is super nice and the rooms are clean. The lobby is patrolled 24/7 by security and their free breakfast is Devine! WiFi is fast and free. We will definitely stay here again.
There was a mess up with checkin on floor rooms and the front desk women named Roella was so kind as to fix the problem without a hassle . The room was very clean, and the breakfast had more then expected. I recomend this hotel to anyone staying in seattle.
The rooms have been clean. Liked the bathroom and glad for so many pillows on the bed. Coffee in the morning in the room and the generous, fantastic free Breakfast by the Main lobby were great. The free Internet also comes in very handy .
We could hear every word said by guest next to us and above us. They were just talking normal and it was like they were in our room. Heating unit rattled loudly as it came on and off. Do not recommend staying here if you need rest!
The bubble tub in my room was never properly cleaned. There was hair from a previous occupant in it throughout my 5 night stay. The nearby restaurant had garbage pickup every morning around 4:00 which would wake me up.
The rooms are celan updated and the beds are very comfortable, also the customer service we received from Krizzia was top notch. I liked the location and the park that they have plenty of free parking that alone made a difference will be staying here again
This location is perfect for anyone needing access to a number of medical facilities. The hotel even provides shuttle service to the Seattle Center (Space Needle, Seattle Rep theater), & Woodland Park Zoo. A big plus because Seattle traffic is a nightmare.
I've stayed at this hotel in north Seattle several times because it is convenient to Shoreline Community Center where I attend seminars for work. It's a bare-bones hotel, just off I-5, but it is quiet, clean and budget friendly. The free parking is a plus, as is the breakfast, which is not particularly healthy, but there is an assortment of typical breakfast fare, and the coffee is okay. The stairs, walkways and rooms are pristine. I have two complaints about me recent stay: At checkin the young woman who assisted me announced my room number rather than quietly handing me the key card in its envelope. When I commented she apologized for her scratchy voice and announced the number again, only louder! As a female solo traveler, I did not appreciate this! She did not understand English well I assume, based on her accent and response to my complaint. I don't want to blame her because she clearly had not been trained well. Soap and shampoo dispensers are great for the environment, but mine was empty, necessitating hopping out of the shower to rummage through my bag to find what I needed. I was wet and dripping and the tile floor became slippery. The dispenser was empty, not just clogged—I checked. On the plus side of showering, the shower-head is high (nice for tall people), there's good water pressure, plenty of hot water and plenty of fluffy white towels. I will stay here again, but I will check for soap and shampoo before getting undressed.
A bit of an older facility that has had a great, recent face lift. Tucked in behind some business off of Northgate Way just west of Interstate 5 in north Seattle. The remodel has been done quite tastefully. The rooms are clean and nicely updated. The bed was quite comfortable, perhaps the best hotel bed I have experienced. .
Great value for this part of Seattle as it is close to the freeway but you are not bothered by the noise. Staff was quite helpful, especially the front desk. We've stayed here before and will stay here again.
Perfect location for myself, being close to the I5.. staff were incredible, very polite and helpful. Internet was amazing. The bed was super comfortable, jacuzzi tub added to the relaxation.. walls to the rooms were slightly thin-able to hear the tv or foot steps in rooms beside or above. Otherwise the stat overall was amazing.
Never stay this hotel again. We got room clock finally after TWO DAYS we requested it few times to front desk. Bed makes squeeze noise, Freezer in refregeter does not work. Housekeeping was NIGHTMARE. We told to front desk we do not need service one day, but they came in to the room while we were gone. On the other day, we asked service, but housekeeper did not come until 5 o'clock. Another day, at 3 pm, we asked to housekeeper how long we need to wait to get service, the housekeeper said that she comes to our room within 5 mins, but she did not come so, we had to bring to her our dirty towels. There is no Do not disturb sign, no TV program, no guidebook, and so on. Room keys do not work properly. Whatever we ask to front desk, we have to wait for a long time. It seems NOBODY CARE anything. We will never stay this hotel again.
Hotel Newus is always fun to stay at, the staff goes that extra mile to make sure everything is fit for you. I go out for medical, and the hotel has always taken very good care of me, anything I need they make sure I have.
Was out for my birthday and stayed here, just off the hwy, close to so much shopping and my favorite coffee shop. The complementary breakfast had a great selection. The front lobby was nicely decorated.
Several years ago, I stayed with my oldest daughter and her dog while I vacationed with her in Seattle. We were located on the first floor, and despite the rain and the main street traffic, it was fairly quiet and private. All went well; and for the price it was okay, nothing fancy. We are pretty low maintenance guests. The picture makes the room look brighter than I remember, so maybe it has improved since Best Western took over.
I have stayed her many times in the bubble tub room. I enjoy the breakfast, free parking, fitness room, free newspaper, rain shower head and the nice deep bubble tub. I think it is a good value and nice area away from downtown. There is also a shuttle to take you to games or attractions.
Hotel room was dirty. When I walked from the bathroom area to the bed the bottom of my feet were filthy. You could see dog tracks on the bathroom floor. Trash was under the bed. We did get clean linens every day. The security guard does a fantastic job. He really patrols and watches the property. I did feel safe.
The staff was very friendly upon check in and check out, but that was the only thing this place had going for it. Very cramped rooms, (2 people couldn't pass each other without one crawling up on the bed to let the other by) the heater didn't work (they didn't fix it either, plus couldn't move me) so they brought one extra very old light blanket, for two people using separate beds. The breakfast had many choices, but the quality was terrible. Water pressure was a joke.
I have stayed here several times. The prices are good for Seattle, the staff is friendly and helpful, it is close to transportation, good breakfast options, overall a very good deal. My only complaint is with the pillows - they are all very thick and they don´t have alternatives for those of us who have neck or back issues.
Roella was amazing!! Just because of her I will be coming back. But on top of the the room is spacious and cozy. It's close to shopping areas and quite centrally located for works purposes. I will stay here again. Hopefully Roella will assist again.
I use Best western frequently and will say the things that I expect (consistent breakfasts, friendly staff, good location, free parking, etc) all applies here and that is why the rating is a “2-star” vs a “1-star” rating. I wanted to treat myself to a “hydro-bath” (basically like a hot tub in the room) but I would NOT recommend it here. 1) all rooms that are equipped with this tub is on the ground floor. I DO NOT like ground floor rooms because of the people walking by and cars parking right in front of your window. 2)the tub is literally next to your bed! 3) the first room I got (i'll address the multiple room issue shortly) the tub would not shut off. I read and reread the directions and every 30 minutes the tub would start up. 4) the second room I got for some reason the tub would start up making a loud whistling sound (no water in the tub) at 1:30 a.m.! This happened two nights in a row. It startled me out of sleep and I had to jump into the tub to turn it off. This really disrupted my sleep and I was there for business. Very disappointing. Back to multiple room issues. I traveled all-day from Hawaii and checked in at 10:30 pm. Check-in was not a problem, however the room I was given did not have an ironing board or iron nor did the A/C work. The shower had visible hair in it and as mentioned above the problems I had with the tub. I called the front desk about the ironing board and waited, it's now nearing 11:30 am and I have a 7 am scheduled meeting. I was not happy when I called the front desk and the young lady who was working told me that if I didn't mind getting the ironing board tomorrow because their house keeping person went home for the night. Fortunately the next front desk person changed me to the room next door (although I still had the tub issues as mentioned). Actually- changing my rating to a one-star. Very disappointed. I am coming back for work in two months and there is no way I am staying here again.
If you have a medical issue in Seattle and you are on Medicaid, this is the very best hotel to go to! Caring staff, super clean rooms, quiet on the backside, the best Indian restaurant next door, a fantastic free shuttle service and more! I had a 1000% wonderful experience and highly recommend this hotel! Thank you!
The Hotel Nexus staff were the most polite and courteous to me as I arrived from Alaska on Medicaid for medical treatment at UW in Seattle. The manager and staff were knowledgable, gracious on all levels and the service was excellent. The hotel rooms are beautiful, the continental breakfast is filled with many options, the laundry and fitness center truly handy and the location is perfect, in walking distance to the Northgate mall, coffee shops and 7 eleven for all your needs. On top of that the Saffron Resturant is adjacent to the Hotel Nexus parking lot and has some of THE BEST Indian and Mediterran food available! And then there is there amazing FREE shuttle service to every medical center, downtown attractions and supermarkets. Though I did not have time to take advantage of the outdoor pool, it looked lovely! I cannot say enough about our stay at the Hotel Nexus. The rooms were super clean, beds are new and the rooms are quiet. The rooms even have refrigerators and microwaves to handle your food and cooking. When I was dealing with challenging medical issues, this hotel staff were so generous, caring and sensitive. I will always use Hotel Nexus when I am in Seattle!!
This hotel is a mixed bag. On the plus side: the rooms are comfortable and very quiet, despite the hotel being next to highway I-5. Our room was at the end closest to the highway and we really did not hear any noise. The breakfast was very good, with hot items changing each day. On the negative side: the outdoor pool supposedly opens at 9:00 (which is already pretty late for a hotel pool), but it only opened on time on one day when we were there. One day it still was not open at 10:30 when our family came to pick us up. There is one tiny, old, slow elevator, which is not really adequate. The wifi was spotty and did not work at all for one full day. Front desk staff were not particularly helpful, but the breakfast room attendant and housekeeping were very good.
The staff is friendly, the property is convienently located next to I-5, the room was average size, comfortable beds. The breakfast was excellent. Management was very helpful and refunded my entire stay due to the fact they were doing some renovations at the time of my stay.
There were people smoking pot on the balcony watching my daughter and I swim, prostitutes on the corner, and bugs in my room, not to mention the beds were hard as rocks and you could feel all the springs. None of us slept. So I paid over $130 to sit in a bug infested room for 6 hours. Then when we needed help the manager lied to us.
We had a great stay here. We asked for a quiet room and got one at the back which was very quiet. Yes, it is a renovated motel but it is very good indeed. The beds were very comfortable, it was very clean and the breakfasts were very good for the price. Shower was good with plentiful hot water and good towels. The shuttle to the city was very useful. We would stay here again. It was useful there was a restaurant just next door that served great food. We would recommend especially as it was a reasonable price for Seattle.
Over priced for a room. Basically a 1960 motel with updates. Location is high traffic and loud with sirens all night. Free breakfast is limited ams very small crowded room. Not wheel chair friendly. The staff on the other hand is very friendly, the hotel lobby has been recently renovated which gives the impression that the rooms will also be fresh instead of tired. The rooms are clean at least. I would not necessarily return to this location.
We were excited to visit the hotel after seeing the pictures on their website. Obviously these are photo shopped pics. We checked in very early and the front desk person said they “they have had a lot of drunk people come to the hotel from The Rolling Stones concert that was in town”. This didn't make me feeling particularly comfortable after a long night of traveling. The front desk staff are nice enough but they are not knowledgeable about the area. Day 1 we went to the pool and noticed how cloudy it was. Second day again we went to the pool at 8:30 to enjoy our coffee outside. The pool person was cleaning the pool, so I asked him why the pool was so cloudy. He asked me “ why are you at the pool, it doesn't open until 9:00?” I asked him if he would like us to leave and he said “no I can't kick you out since you are already here and the door was open”. Never did get answer as to why the pool was cloudy for the 6 days we were there. We have a pool and know that some clarifier would have cleared up the pool. The pool person also drained gallons of water and proceeded to fill it with a garden hose. The rooms DO NOT look like the rooms on the website. They look old and worn like the outside of the building. Parking can be complicated as it is shared with a restaurant. The breakfast is continental breakfast, not good or bad. Just basic. Did not use the shuttle as it only goes and picks up at certain times. Parking is expensive. Desk is covering the cover on the air conditioner so it's hard to see and adjust. Again, we were extremely disappointed.
Excellent location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, comfortable room & beds, convenient shower & dispenser. walking distance to local restaurants, convenient shuttle service to Seattle available.
