For a 4 stars hotel, really dissatisfied. High prices for an old hotel with unfriendly personnel und rooms not cleaned enough with sand from probably last guest, ugly balconies with no outside furniture and rooms with no isolation from outside noise. Nobody spoke English! The breakfast was really poor and quality very low.

We spent 2 nights here towards the end of a 2 week birdwatching tour. It was convenient for the nearby National Park. Room was clean with a comfortable bed, lots of hot water for showering. Excellent facilities, good restaurant. Good Caiparinhos and beer. We enjoyed the food here, breakfast was lovely and we were pleased our itinerary allowed for a leisurely post birdwalking breakfast here as the buffet at breakfast is lovely. Plenty of choice and an egg station.

A Beautiful hotel. Watch out for the strict Pool Towel Policy and the misleading communication by the staff. One pool towel per guest per day no matter how many times you decide to go to the pool in this hhot, sticky environment.

This hotel should qualify as 2-stars. This was the worst hotel I've stayed at in a while. Old room. Bathroom smelling of urine, shower room with old tiles with grimy grouts. As it rained on a few days of my stay, a leak in the bathroom soaked my makeup bag.

Hotel was very clean,beds where very comfortable,food was great and location was excellent. Service was good and all the staff were all so friendly and welcoming.I would recommend any one to stay here.

Stayed here for 1 night before travelling to Trancoso in August 2021. Staff were efficient and friendly. Courtyard and pool make for a relaxing tropical setting. Room had a view and small balcony towards the front of the hotel (the car park and road). The balcony door was rather flimsy and did not feel very secure (being on the ground floor). Room interior and bathroom look very dated. Hotel is located walking distance to many shops and restaurant, as well as to the historic part of town (on top of the hill) - very convenient.

The hotel itself is huge, with spaceous rooms with plenty of sockets to charge all of your gear. For the price they charge, I was a bit disappointed they don't serve early breakfast but they prepare a small to-go box with a couple of snacks instead. It'll get you to the first hours of the day until you can get a real breakfast somewhere else. Dinner has to be pre-ordered. For the beachbums : you need to cross a busy 4-lane street to get to feel the sand between your toes. But, the hotel has a big pool.

I was spent 2 days in Porto Segruo, Mr.Leite who is known as his friendly, hospitality and humor, could be your best choice for the car services there. Mr Leite is the local gentleman, he knows the interesting secret places and the most stunning views of beach. We learnt sorts of recommendation of foods, drinks, beaches, photo places from him, which is very helpful for us to find our favorites. Moreover, it is not easy to have a English speaking friends there, but he is. So, every time we stay there, we will ask him for a help and drive us wherever we want. The view is always beyond our imagine. Secondly, this Hotel's location is not far away from the airport and just beneath the old city along the coast.

Very clean and very friendly, pool is good an gym is ok. Everything you need and the location is the best. The staff told me a guy named Marcelo Leite who knows Porto Seguro better than anyone, great guy! He can organize any trip you want for a very good price compared the tourist traps of the town. 5/5 Hieno hotelli, suomalaiseen makuun aamiainen melkoisen rasvainen mutta hedelmiä oli onneksi runsaasti. Nice hotel. Avoid rooms on the street , very noisy It's a nice location to take out for a walk on the town, not far from the airport. Staff are very kind and are really willing to help even if some of them don't speak english at all. Should you need a transportation ask for LEITE at the reception desk, a very nice guy who can take you almost everywhere: very decent fares , english speaking, he can propose or organize a tour for you around Porto Seguro. He has stories to tell and can suggest a restaurant !!

The room is very spacious and very clean. The shower works wonderfully. Real satelite TV. The pool is very good. Breakfast could be a bit better, though, but variety was good. The personnel are very welcoming. It has a good parking lot.

Even if this hotel is a little shabby it still has it charm. You cant beat the location with the beautiful seaview and on the other side you have the jungle with all the lovely noisy birds, even monkeys ca be seen if you are up early. As said, some parts are shabby, the gym for instance must be from the 80's, and the breakfast is not the best.

This hotel is not on the beach but with easy access from all roads. 3 minutes from the airport . Breakfast could be better because of the high price charged for the night . The pool is outstanding and the rooms are okay, nothing spectacular and worth what is charged . Lots of mosquitoes .

We were looking for a base in Porto Seguro for a couple of nights before heading to a Pousada at Praia do Espelho and this filled the bill. The room was very nice, clean and quiet. Meals are all buffet style and very adequate if not a gourmet experience. The hotel is within walking distance of the centre with a good variety of restaurants.

I have stayed in a few different hotels in Porto Seguro. Best Western Shalimar Praia Hotel is definitely one of the best, with good chances of being the top choice. It has a very professional service, good structure and honest location (very close to city center, but slightly far from the main daylight beach attractions). Also, their breakfast is really good. If you're not brazilian and have plans of going to Porto Seguro for some days, I recommend you stay there. Given the natural cultural limitations, this is probably the most prepared hotel to have you. Oh, and get yourself a mosquito repellent - the whole city is filled with them.

I stayed here with my wife for an overnight stop off before heading to Trancoso the following day. We arrived late on a flight so got there around midnight. We were taken to a room at the front of the hotel so had the noise of the traffic outside and there was a really strong smell of urine in the corridor and the room itself. To be fair, the breakfast was really good and the next morning, after having a look around the rest of the hotel, I'd say we must have been given one of the worst rooms because the area around the swimming pool looked much better than our room. We would have asked to move if we had got there earlier in the day but because it was so late we were too tired to complain and the staff didnt speak english. Overall a bit disappointing bearing in mind it s a Best Western which normally provides a much better standard of room.

We lost our flight and Lan sent us to this hotel. It was really luxurious. The food was very good. A recomendation is having dinner early because late some menues run away. The swimming pool, the gym, the relax area, the staff are amazing. Location: it is close but not very close. I need to take a bus or a taxi to go to the beaches and downtown. It is in the midle of those places. Very close to the airport. I did not pay because of what I explained before, but it is a little expensive I think (450 $R per night -standard doble room-).
