Sure Hotel by Best Western Rhoen Garden

The hotel looks lovely from the outside but it is very dated - I'm ok with older design, but two single beds are not to be understood in a double room. It is in a lovely location and is very pet friendly, which is really nice. The bar and billards room was a lot of fun. Make sure you bring your swimsuit thought - we missed the opportunity to use the pool and sauna

We stayed at Best Western Rhön Garden because of our ski trip at Wasserkuppe. We stayed here last year for the same reason, really enjoyed the hotel and the facilities it offers (our kids loved the big heated swimming pool) and decided to come back to it again this year (we otherwise never stayed at the same hotel twice). We always book the family room as we have 2 young kids (5 and 3). The rooms are clean and the amenities are good (no minibar but everything else is there). All staffs are lovely and friendly, the gentleman at the front desk even remembered us from last year. Breakfast offers a good selection of cold and hot food, DIY waffles is a highlight for the kids every morning, while my husband and I enjoyed the wide selection of teas on offer. We dined at the restaurant twice for dinner, the food was fresh and tasty. The hotel seats you at the same table everyday, so you get to know the other guests quite quickly, if willing. Our kids befriended the boy from the next table, which was very sweet. We have not tried the sauna unfortunately but heard that it's a must. Wait till our next visit! the rhön garden is a family-run hotel ... the location is fantastically quiet ... the rooms are spacious ... the mattress was very good ... a bottle of water for free ... unfortunately no WIFI was there ... man working well ... beautiful swimming pool and a great sauna area ... the restaurant is not really comfortable ... but also the staff very very friendly .... you also get snacks for food offered ... great ... had a brown bread with ham and eggs eaten ... very delicious ... the breakfast was very varied and very tasty ... cool, you have a table with your name tag ... a very successful stay ... thank you very much for your friendliness!

Travelling from Slovenia to Rotterdam we used as a stopover.. Staff were very pleasant and spoke sufficient English that we did not need to struggle with our limited German. We had a room with balcony overlooking pleasant countryside. There was a special event on so we were able to have the buffet which was plentiful and a bargain at 22E. Breakfast also very good and included the usual hot options.. Not too far off the motorway and quiet in an area we may come back to explore

This was a welcome find as Bischofsheim was rolled up for the year only 8 miles away. Good restaurant and bar, spa facilities are nice, rooms are clean. Close to wasserkuppe and kreuzberg. I found best price directly on hotel website.

We stayed here for a family reunion of about 25 people.... We were given a "family room" for my husband, myself and 3 kids- perfect!! Plenty of space and nicely laid out- a rare find in Europe! The pool is very clean and has a great atmosphere... The sauna and spa area attached provide an enjoyable relaxing visit. The breakfast buffet is nicely set up and fresh- quite the assortment. Dinner buffet as well... Beware ordering from the menu the portions are extremely generous!!

Stayed here on business and arrived in the middle of a blizzard. If you travel to the hotel from Frankfurt, you will need an up to date sat nav as some of the roads have been replaced with new roads which older navs will take you down. About a two hour drive from the international airport, this is a typical German hotel with quaint lighting outside and a warm welcome when entering the lobby. There is no feel of a commercial influence, and you could be mistaken by thinking you're entering a grand house or mansion. English is spoken in the hotel to help with check-in. Rooms are nice and tidy with furnishings and comfy bed for a pleasant night's sleep. Try to get a room with a view of the hills in the distance. A nice change from the concrete jungles hotels are normally built in. Food at the hotel is good and well presented. I ordered from the menu (multi-lingual) on the first night and there is a good choice . The waiters don't speak very good English (not their fault), so beware. Breakfast is serve yourself and a nice selection of hot and cold dishes to start the day. You can mix it up with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or be as plain as a boiled egg. The bar is well stocked albeit slightly slow service but they get there in the end. Overall a nice pleasant stay, but as mentioned at the beginning, try to get to the hotel before darkness sets in. Would stay again if in the area.

This hotel is very nice and alone in the mountain of the rhön. From the hotel are shuttle-bus organised to the Wasserkuppe ski are. The service and reception is very friendly. Good restaurant on the ground floor with a lot of different tasty specialities from the region. The swimpool is small but 2 Sauna are available. I would recommend this hotel for Family holidays or short vacation to walk or begin ski in the mountain of the Rhön.
