"Great Place to stay"

5
30/07/2018

This hotel was very clean and quiet. It is within walking distance of town and the historical sites like Plymouth Rock. The grounds were very well kept and nice. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful with things to see and do. The breakfast staff made sure the area was always very clean and well stocked. They were very attentive to making sure the coffee pots were full and tables cleaned as soon as guests were done. It was a great stay.

I chose this hotel from their website. It met my needs in terms of location to Plymouth area that I wanted to see. The landscaping on this property is wonderful and makes you feel like you are in a place that someone took the time to create just to be beautiful. The pool is warm and clean. The breakfast is a bit more than the usual continental fare, with bacon, eggs, waffles, fruit, juices and coffee is available all day. The staff are very polite and helpful. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel this is not for you. It is a comfortable, clean hotel with everything you might need. I would definitely stay there again. Most of what we wanted to do was within walking distance. there is a little beach on Nelson St. with great views and there is a bathroom, food, playground and you can even rent chairs for the day. It is free to everyone. Parking there is limited so you can walk there from the hotel. There is also a little plaza right across the street if you need anything. I highly recommend this Best Western.

"Great location!!very clean. Close to Edaville amusement park"

Travelled first time to plymouth. We were very pleased with hotel. We had a suite with large separate living room area. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean.free Breakfast was good. Great location, just steps from center of town and marina/great restaurants.best seafood I've ever had! Hotel is also 15 to 20 minutes from Edaville Thomasland. We really enjoyed our stay.

"Nice hotel "

This is a hotel near the Plymouth beach. It is walking distance to the town center and near Pimounth Plantation. God facilities like fitness center, swimming pool, breakfast, ice, conference room and vending machine. Good value for money.

26/06/2018

Our recent stay was pleasant and comfortable. We were upgraded to the Priscilla Alden cottage, a king room with a jacuzzi tub. The room was very clean (though we did spot a little dust on a table) and comfortable. The pillows were a bit too overstuffed, I might bring my own next time , but I would certainly stay here again. The location is great, very close to downtown attractions, etc, but not quite in the midst of things. If you pay for the on and off trolley tour, there is a stop directly in front. (It wasn't running while we were there.) For the price, you can't beat it

"Updated hotel "

19/06/2018

The hotel consists of multiple buildings each with two floors. We were on the parking lot level. The room was a standard hotel room with microwave and fridge. One good point was a nite light in the bathroom. Breakfast was in the Registration building (separate from all the room buildings). Location worked as it was close to everything but not in a high traffic area.

"Nice Place to Stay!"

18/06/2018

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Cold Spring while working a local auction. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. A great location near down town without all of the fuss. If you plan on staying here note that the rooms are in several buildings not necessarily within sight of the lobby. It was a non issue for us, but something to consider.

"Affordable stay"

06/06/2018

We stayed for one night as part of a New England tour. We chose this hotel as it appeared to offer good value for money, which it did. Check in was very quick and staff extremely efficient and friendly. We were given an upgrade to the John Alden cottage, which is a stand alone cottage rather than part of a block. The room was lovely and consisted of a small sofa and table, central double sided fire (electric) decent size bathroom and large king size bed, fridge and microwave and 2 TV's , one on each side of a pillar in the middle of the room, so you watch from either the bed or sofa. Room was spotlessly clean and bed very comfortable. Parking is free , plentiful and able to park very close to the cottage. Breakfast is served just off reception and was fine, consisting of your typical chain hotel items, including make your own waffles, which is always a nice addition. The room gets busy at times, but there is additional seating upstairs. The hotel is located out of Town, but an easy straight walk of about 15 minutes to the center and Plymouth Rock. If you don't mind a bit of a walk (or drive) then we can't fault this place and would recommend it.

Returned to the BW Cold Spring for the second time. Great location. Great staff. Clean and good value for the cost. We made trips to Cape Cod and Connecticut and returned to the BW Cold Spring each night. Plymouth is a beautiful spot.

Had to visit for an overnight due to a death in the family. Excellent price, location and hotel staff were excellent. Room comfortable and roomy. Very well kept. Breakfast was very good and server was very helpful with a wonderful personality. Would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Plymouth. Close to waterfront and many restaurants and shops.

16/04/2018

Very clean hotel with great location at a great price. Exhaust fan included....which you usually can't find that in a hotel and I don't understand why? Looks like new carpet and two sinks is a plus, that is rare. Would def recommend!

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at Best Western Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Imbrummett, Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay at Best Western Plus Cold Spring. We appreciate the recommendation and 5 Stars. From you description of the two sinks, it sounds like you were in one of our Deluxe Rooms with two queen beds or one of our suites. We hope to see you again! Warm Regards, Kevin T. Nice large Suite very comfortable Bed only complaint would be ,took forever to get Hot water in Tub as well as Shower .Jacuzzi Tub wasn't cleaned very well had scum ring around it .Im a gold Member and all other places we have stayed have given us a complimentary Bag of water , chips , ect this one did not .Would stay again because location was close to everything.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at Best Western Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Darci K, Thank you for taking the time to write of review of Best Western Plus Cold Spring. I apologize your found the jetted tub in the condition you did. This has been addressed with the housekeeping supervisor. Please do contact me about the Elite Status recognition. Not being sure of your name, I have only had one party stay in one of our Superior King rooms this season (we opened on March 16) with the last name beginning with a "K". That person is not listed as a Gold Member. If you are the same person, we need to get this corrected through Best Western Rewards. Elite members are offered either the Complimentary Bag or 500 points. I am sorry for this confusion. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"The cottage was beautiful, however.."

01/04/2018

This was a little birthday getaway for my husband. The person who checked us in, Mark, was super nice!! He explained everything to us and even drew me a map on how to get to our cottage. He explained everything about the complimentary breakfast, etc. Very helpful. We got one of the private cottages with the jetted hot tub inside. It was such a cute little room. When we stepped inside, it was gorgeous! So nice and clean. We unpacked a bit and then went about our business around town. When we got back to the room, we figured we'd soak in the jetted tub for a bit before relaxing and calling it a night. The plug to the jetted tub kept popping up and we kept losing water. Before the tub was even filled, the hot water ran out. After that, we laid down to watch TV before bed. The bed felt as if it were broken. Laying down normally, our legs/feet were higher than our head.We felt like we were laying at the wrong end of the bed. We tried to sleep and it was impossible. Not only did we feel upside down, we could also hear the noise from the street outside the window next to the bed. Trucks going by, police sirens and a couple walking on the street, who were arguing. Finally enough was enough. We decided to pack up the car and leave a little after midnight. We drove back to Boston in our pajamas. I did not go to the front desk to complain because it was already so late, I was just exhausted and in my pajamas. I did not feel like packing up and then unpacking again in a different room. I do think this is a really cute place and like I said it was very clean. I just wish the bed wasn't so messed up and the plug to the jetted tub actually stayed down.

The room was private, very clean, and had very nice amenities, soaps and shampoo's. Big fluffy towels. Very close to everything on Court Street, the Wharf and Plymouth Rock. Very friendly breakfast staff and front desk staff. Highly recommend this Motel.

Dear Katie L, Thank you for taking the time to write a 5-Star review of your stay at Best Western Plus Cold Spring. We were happy to read that you enjoyed the room, amenities and our staff at breakfast and the front desk. The hotel's location does provide a good opportunity to explore the downtown and waterfront area on foot. Your recommendation is appreciated. Best Wishes, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

26/03/2018

it was noisy, you can hear the doors slam and car doors and ignition when the car started. My key deactivated and I had to go drive back to the lobby to get it reactivared. That was an inconvience, since It was late and I just wanted to get into my room and sleep. I also ddnt reaize when booking the room it was an outside hotel not inside. Besides that the location was nice close to a lot of resteruants. room was cleaned and cozy.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at Best Western Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear acdproductions79, Thank you for sharing your experience at our hotel. I apologize we did not exceed the expectations of your stay. We work hard to make sure all of our guests have a pleasant experience and appreciate the comments that show us where we can improve. The keys can deactivate when they are near a cell phone or if the wallet has a magnet clasp. We are an exterior corridor hotel with 7 buildings located over 5 acres and our location is convenient to the many attractions and restaurants that Plymouth has to offer. I do hope we will have another opportunity to host you should you need lodging in Plymouth. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"Disappointing"

2
21/03/2018

We stay in Best Western hotels from time to time however I would describe this place as a motel. As motels go it was fine. Spacious room with a comfy bed and I liked the big bars of soap with the toiletries. This was our penultimate night on our New England tour. However it was the first time that having been told in advance that one of our party was coeliac that no effort was made to accommodate that. Every where else that we have been has at least made an effort to provide some gluten free bread or muffins etc. Not here, no effort at all though there was available fruit and yoghurt. So that was a big disappointment. Generally the breakfast was poor. Why can't places provide boiling water to make tea? Hot water isn't enough. Poor selection of hot food, that was cold, limp scrambled eggs and a disgusting cold pork sausage. America doesn't seem to have grasped being customer focused yet and this place was no exception. There were a variety of restaurants and eating places within walking distance. Overall not very impressive, could do a lot better. It was off season and we didn't pay a lot of money to stay here. That was the justification from pulling it up from terrible.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at Best Western Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Aequitas6, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at our hotel. I apologize that we did not have the gluten free bread available when you stayed with us, that was my error. We normally do have gluten free bagels, waffles, and cereal upon request. Our eggs served on the buffet, the "egg of the day" and our hard boiled eggs, are also gluten free. While we do not have boiling water available in the breakfast room, we do offer kettles, available at the front desk, that guests can take to their rooms. Our guest rooms are in seven buildings located over 5 acres and all are exterior corridor. We were happy to read you enjoyed the amenities and guest rooms. Again, I am sorry we were unable to provide you with an impressive stay. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"Wonderful Holiday Stay"

5
08/02/2018

We went for the Thanksgiving holiday to visit my husband( working out of town) and some friends. I cannot say enough. The hotel did not look like your run of the mill hotel, it has a New England style flair to it. Room was very clean. The breakfast was really good, a very large assortment of just about everything, and fresh fruit! The dining room staff was extremely friendly. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate were available in our room, and also in the lobby until 11pm. It is very close downtown but just outside the hustle and bustle. I recommend Woods seafood and The Plymouth Plantation. A nice lot with free ample parking on the ocean front is just down the street. I was sorry we had to relocate to another hotel near the mall, as they closed down for the season shorty after the holiday. It was not as nice, or accommodating. I forgot my shoes in the room, and they actually dropped them off at our new location. How kind. Definitely would return!

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at Best Western Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear maryb1812, Thank you for your 5-Star review of your stay over the Thanksgiving period. Best Western Plus Cold Spring is unique with the 7 buildings over 5 acres. We appreciate the complements on our breakfast and staff. We were sorry to see you leave but we do close for the winter season beginning the Sunday after Thanksgiving and will re-open for the 2018 season on Friday, March 16! I hope you will be able to return to see the changes we've made to the registration/breakfast building. Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

21/11/2017

I wish we had been able to stay more than one evening. Our room was spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows. Coffee maker, microwave and fridge in room. Plenty of hot coffee, tea and hot chocolate in Lobby. I was in Plymouth on business, but would love to go back for sightseeing. When I do, I will definitely stay at Best Western Plus Cold Spring - great value.

"Great Staff and Location, Location, Location"

5
08/11/2017

Incredablely friendly, knowledge and helpful staff. The location would be perfect for tourists or business. Cannot say enough positives about every member of their staff. They should be the benchmark by how others are judged.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at Best Western Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear roberteZ9143DL, Thank you for your kind comments regarding our staff and for your 5-Star review of Best Western Plus Cold Spring. We are very fortunate to have the staff we have working with us as they do care about the guest's experience. I agree with you on our location - just 1/2 mile from the waterfront area of restaurants and shops and, in a slightly different direction, one half mile from the beginning of downtown Plymouth. Hope we will see you again. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"Priscilla Alden room"

5
06/11/2017

We stayed here for two nights in October at the end of our 3 week tour of New England. A good location to explore Plymouth, a short walk to the restaurants on the front, and just a short drive along the street to the town museum. The Plymouth Plantation site is about 10 mins drive away. The king suite we were allocated was called the ‘Priscilla Alden' room. A great coincidence as it is named after Priscilla Mullins, who arrived on the Mayflower and subsequently married John Alden. Priscilla came from my own home town, Dorking in England. Pleasantly surprised to find that the room was actually a separate standalone building, so no noise at all from any other rooms. The room is well equipped including 2 electric fires, 2 large TVs, a large Jacuzzi, fridge & microwave. However there were a couple of maintenance issues, a bad smell (possibly spilt milk?) from the fridge and one of the fires not working. I reported these to the receptionist, so hopefully they will have been dealt with. The other point to be aware off is that the room is located close to the main road through the town and during the day time there was quite a lot of road noise. Thankfully the volume of traffic reduced in the evening and didn't disturb our sleep. It's worth noting that the hotel consists of a number of different buildings, all of which require a walk outside to reach reception & the breakfast room. Breakfast included a good selection of hot & cold dishes on the buffet, including waffle makers. Overall excellent value.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at Best Western Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear DorkingRanger, Thank you for writing a 5-Star review of Best Western Plus Cold Spring. Sorry you ran into a couple of maintenance issues while you were staying with us but greatly appreciate that you told us so we could take care of them. I am very intrigued by the story of John and Priscilla Alden so it is great to hear more about one of them. Yes, we have 7 buildings over five acres offering a different room type in each building. You stayed in one of our Superior King Rooms, two of which are free standing cottages. We hope you will consider us again should your travels bring you back to Plymouth. Warm Regards, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"Great location - charming"

06/11/2017

Overall a nice stay. The location is perfect. Very quiet area and very quiet neighbors. Limited amenities. Complaints are minimal, but enough for me not to stay here again - for the price, there are better hotels available in the area. I would recommend this to a friend with a family looking for a place to stay by the town in the summer time with the pool. It seems like a great place to hang out on the patio.

Great location with easy access to major sightseeing locations. Shops and restaurants within short walking distance. Accommodations are good, clean room free parking and breakfast included. Very helpful and friendly staff.

"Visiting Boston"

20/10/2017

This motel was a good option for us. We visited Boston but wanted to avoid higher prices if Boston but stay somewhere close by. This was a perfect choice. The layout of the property is much like a retreat center. The location is near the main activities of Plymouth. The staff was great!

"Would definitely stay there again"

19/10/2017

We spent a week in Massachussetts and were looking for a hotel that was halfway between Provincetown and Boston. BW Cold Spring was perfect. We especially like the complimentary continental breakfast as we had kids, and it was nice not to have to worry about finding a place for breakfast. There was a ton of various food items to choose from; you can even make your own waffles. The staff for breakfast as well as check-in was VERY nice and accommodating. The room itself suited our needs. Beds were clean and the room was well-maintained. There was a mini fridge which worked out great as we brought bottled water and wanted to keep it cold. There's a grocery store within a 5 minute drive, so that also helped for snacks. There were plenty of towels and amenities. Rooms were cleaned every day. Our room was on the ground floor very level to the parking lot, so we felt a little obligated to keep all the curtains shut. There was no safe in the room, so we had to carry all our valuables with us. I didn't feel the area was unsafe at all, but didn't feel comfortable leaving things in the room unattended. There are laundry facilities available, but we did not use them. The shampoo/conditioner they have is VERY good. I didn't care for the bar soap, though, and found it too drying. Water pressure in the shower was very good. The town is great to walk around in. We had kids with us, and it was nice to stroll to the playground down the street. We also went down to the harbor/marina area and dined there. Lots of gift shops as well all within walking distance from the hotel. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because it has an outdoor pool. While it's a great feature, the pool wasn't heated as claimed, and there were barely any pool towels left when we got there even though there was only one other guest swimming at the time. Granted, we were there about an hour and half before the pool closed, but still; there should always be enough towels. The other thing I didn't like was we had a room across from the check-in/breakfast area; the pool is a very far, uphill walk, so we ended up having to take the car up there. We only tried to use the pool once. I found it to be more inconvenient than an amenity.

"Quiet and Clean"

4
15/10/2017

A very warm welcome from Wonzel on the desk. Very helpful and full of information about the local area. Our room was separate to the main hotel block, which meant a short downhill walk for breakfast. The room was a good size, clean and tidy with all the usual amenities, which included a very noisy fridge. Although there was a deadbolt on the door there was no safety catch. The breakfast was very good, but not quite yo the standard of the other Best Westerns we have stayed at on this trip. It is conveniently located for travelling to the attractions in the area. If you head out to Kingston try and catch the WW1 memorial.

"Clean hotel at good price."

5
15/10/2017

Nice clean hotel at a good price. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The staff at the breakfast area, the front desk check in and check out staff, and the hotel cleaning staff were very helpful and pleasant.

"Great last stop!"

5
15/10/2017

Stayed at Cold Springs BW plus, for our last 2 nights in the U.S. , our room was up the hill with a sort of bay view (Trees in the way!} nice room etc all the usual that you expect from BW. The staff were very helpful and friendly, another plus. Breakfasts were good and set us up for the day. The hotel is about 15 minute walk to the sea and there are car parks at the front which is useful if you want to take the car, easy to walk along the front and explore. This was a lovely area to stay in and the sun and warmth made it all the better. There are lots of nice restaurants within a short walk of the hotel, along the sea front with good TA reviews. Found this hotel a really nice stop before flying home. Ps highlight was meeting a retired couple from NY. The gentleman was a fireman at the TT on 9/11}I just had to give him a hug}

"Next time we'll stay longer"

5
10/10/2017

The point of going to Plymouth was to visit my elderly Auntie and cousin on our way home to NJ from Canada. We arrived at the Best Western after 1 pm and found our key in a marked envelope, taped to the door. Our room exceeded our expectations. It was gorgeous. I think we had the Miles Standish room with a king bed. Bed was super comfortable and we slept well. The complimentary breakfast was way better that the usual motel breakfast. I was very happy for the fruit salad in particular! Staff was friendly and efficient.

"Great location"

4
09/10/2017

We spent 4 days in Massachusetts and found this location to be perfect for visiting multiple towns. Quiet central location. Rooms are of good size. Mini fridge and microwave were great to have. Free continental breakfast had lots of options for all tastes. Only negative was the two very large spiders in our room. One in the shower and one on the bed. Prices were very reasonable. We would stay again despite the spider issue.

"We were upgraded to a jacuzzi suite!"

3
09/10/2017

After a problem with noise from a heating vent, we were upgraded from a rather dated (but clean and well-appointed, functional) room to a jacuzzi suite with two televisions and two fires. The original room needed a make-over in terms of decor (repainting the terracotta walls plus new bed sets/curtains). Quite a good breakfast included in rate. On the Route 3A Main Street in Plymouth, so easy to walk.

"Definitely recommend"

5

Definitely would recommend. Great stay. Recently updated. Clean, roomy with plenty of outlets and usb in the lamps. Wonderful free breakfast. Beds and pillows a bit firm for my taste but otherwise slept well. Sofa sleeper more for smaller kids than an adult. Teenage son said was not that comfortable. Staff was great! AAA+

Again, I booked this property because of the location and I had enough points to book the night. It is expensive but close to the places we wanted to see and begin our trip from. The room was clean and the staff was OK, not great but they were friendly and prompt. They advertised breakfast but mentioned noting about it on check in, the next morning we went down and it was $11.00!!!! for a marginal, small buffet, we had a much better one in Quincy for less. I would have rated higher if the 'standard' BW Plus breakfast was included. Be warned, it's pricey for the room.

"Never stayed at a BW. EXCELLENT!"

This hotel room (#25) was VERY clean. Quiet at this time of year. Not a complaint. Things in room looked quite recently appointed. The outdoor pool was directly across this room (on top of the hill), on the other side of the parking lot. (maybe noisy in the middle of summer ~ ?) Also very clean. Monty was the caretaker that day, and asked if we thought the water temperature was too our liking. Perfect at 75. All staff were very friendly and accommodating. Very friendly and helpful reception. Breakfast area was well maintained / well stocked. We arrived just before the close time for breakfast, but there were no worries about anything. Staff was still smiling. If you like to stroll, location is just a short walk to Nelson Beach, restaurants, downtown area. There are different buildings to this hotel with greenery all around which make it feel like a little village. Very happy with this experience.

26/09/2017

We had to be in Plymouth that day for family business. Since my wife grew up here and our kids live here, we're pretty familiar with the area, but had never stayed here before. Was a delight! Jose was passing by with 40-55 mph winds (whitecaps in the harbor) but we couldn't hear him in our room! Very quiet rooms, quiet functional heat/ac unit, clean comfortable beds with GREAT PILLOWS! (not the kind you wrestle with all night!). All in all it was a great discovery. We'll be back.

Easy check in. Nice, clean lobby/ breakfast area. Cottage is large, actually had a fireplace separating bedroom and living area. Huge bathroom with a jetted tub. 10 minutes walk to harbor, sights and eats. Easy check out as well. Have on site laundry machines and dry cleaning available, if needed.

"Appearance is not everything"

This beautiful exterior was deceiving. If you are assigned room 12, ask for a different location. The motel has a section of older rooms and room 12 is one of those. The décor is similar to what would be found in a Best Western in the 1980s. The room was humid, during a beautiful week in Plymouth. The air conditioner sounded as if it was about to go out when turning off and the bathroom door would not easily close in two spots because it needed trimming at the bottom. The room was not clean: lampshades had dust collected on the trim, the refrigerator had grime on the front, the room smelled musty and was constantly damp. The exterior was spotless. Very misleading. Possibly the newer part of the motel has better rooms for guests.

Dear Peggy M, Thank you for taking the time to write of your experience. I sincerely apologize that you did not enjoy your stay. I was very surprised when the front desk staff told me of your husband's complaints when he checked out. I am sorry you stayed for 9 nights without letting us know you were not happy. And, we did not understand why you extended your stay twice if you were this unhappy. I did speak with you when you came to the desk early in your stay to pick up your packages and you expressed your satisfaction at that time. The building you stayed was completely remodeled with new walls, bathrooms, flooring, pillows and beds over the past two years. Maintenance has been notified of the issue with the bathroom door and to check the air conditioning unit. The housekeeping staff who cleaned your room has also been told of the items you brought up. Again, I apologize you did not enjoy your experience while you were in Plymouth. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

It was very pleasant to see Mrs. Sheila and Mr. Mark during this stay. Their attention to detail was exceptional. The cleaning and maintenance staff was very courteous, polite and went the extra mile to assist in every need. Well done. The a/c worked very well. This is the second time I have chosen this hotel for a week stay. The service is very consistent. I am very happy with the entire staff performance and dedication to the customer. I chose this hotel based on Trip Advisor comments.

11/09/2017

My family stayed here on our trip for the Plymouth Plantation. The hotel is a great location close enough to the downtown shops and restaurants to walk. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast saves money, my son loves the waffles. Fresh fruit salad was a nice touch. The eggs and packaged oatmeal could be better but overall and nice breakfast. Outdoor pool is nice but a little chilly in September. Wish there was a hot tub but still we swam daily. We missed room cleaning one day but came back to find a nice basket with clean towels and toiletries. I would recommend the hotel for the cleanliness, friendly staff, value and location.

This is our 3rd visit to Plymouth over the years that we have stayed at his hotel. Very nice room, comfortable bed and pillows, heated pool, nice breakfast. Desk staff very helpful. Located not far from the Plymouth waterfront. You COULD walk it, but I would recommend driving down closer. Very clean hotel and neat appearance kept. Highly recommend staying at the BW Cold Spring Plus Hotel!

02/09/2017

We booked this hotel based on the good reviews on Trip Advisor. WOW! When we pulled up to the hotel, we were impressed with the cleanliness and overall look of the hotel. Very charming and pretty. The check in was easy, and the staff very friendly. The room was spotless, and everything seemed new. Actually this may have been one of the cleanest hotels that I have been to. Even the TV remote control was sanitized and in a protective covering. The is beautiful, and the surrounding area is very pretty and peaceful. The location is walking distance (a couple of blocks) to the waterfront and wharf. There is a plaza across the street if you need anything. The breakfast was included in the price of the room and was very good (for a hotel lobby breakfast) There were eggs, bacon and / or sausage, fresh fruit, yogart, different types of breads and pastries, waffle station, juice, coffee etc. My kids loved the pool. It is situated on a little hill, with a lot of gardens and flowers surrounding it. While my kids were swimming in the pool, an employee came up to ask if the temperature was ok for them, and adjusted it to their liking. I wish I got his name. He was very kind. Overall, I give this hotel 5* rating.

"Nice Place to Stay"

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel the breakfast was excellent big selection eggs, bacon - next day different type of eggs, sausage even had make your own Belgian waffles (with whipped cream) which were were awesome! The pool was beautiful, well kept and serene. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. This hotel is located near many historical monuments which was great and is located basically two blocks away from a playground for the children right next to the shoreline. Also close to many eateries and places to take a boat trip.

We stayed in Plymouth only one night and after staying at this hotel, I wish it had been a longer stay. The grounds are lovely and well-kept. The rooms are very, very clean. There are several types of accommodations-hotel, motor lodge, cottage. We had rooms that were similar to a motor lodge, with a 'porch' & chairs, and a parking place out front. The staff was friendly, smiling, and helpful. We stayed in rooms 8 and 9 and they were just great! Equipped with a queen bed in Room 8 and a king bed in Room 9, comfortable chair and ottoman, a good-sized desk and office chair, a small refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, soft and clean linens and towels, toiletries, good pillows, flat-screen TV with many channels, and wonderfully cold AC. There is a very nice pool with a large deck, with tables, chairs and umbrellas, and beautiful planters filled with lovely flowers. There is also a chair lift into the pool for those who need assistance. There are big beach towels for guest use right on the pool deck. There is also a brand new washer and dryer available for guest use, an outdoor sitting area near the soda and ice machines where guests can hang out, and a wonderful lobby. Unfortunately, we did not have time for breakfast, but it looked good from where we stood. The hotel is a five minute drive from downtown Plymouth and it's historical sites, close to many great restaurants, and of course, the beach. Plymouth is a pretty compact town, so you can walk easily. I was really impressed by this particular Best Western and would definitely stay here again and recommend to my family and friends. Thank you Plymouth Best Western!

"What a (nice) surprise)!"

24/08/2017

My brothers and sisters and I took our elderly father for a vacation in Plymouth and stayed at the Best Western Plus. We were all surprised at the quality, cleanliness and friendly hospitality we found. We first noticed how friendly and helpful all the staff were. From the front desk to the staff stocking the breakfast buffet, everyone went out of their way to be helpful. The landscaping was amazing- there were meticulously maintained flower beds, beautiful flowering bushes, trimmed hedges, everywhere. The swimming pool was larger than you usually find at a "budget" hotel and it was super clean and instead of a chlorine pool, it was a salt water pool, which was wonderful. The pool deck is large, there are plenty of comfortable, cushioned lounge chairs, tables with umbrellas, fresh beach towels, and beautiful flower plantings decorating the tables and deck. We had four rooms (each with 2-queens). They were spic and span clean, large, attractive and everything seemed fairly new. Each room had a small fridge and microwave. Our rooms were on the second floor of the "Hill" building. The deck had chairs where we could sit and we had a great view (we could even see the ocean!). The breakfast buffet was great. Cereals, fresh fruit, all sorts of breads, muffins, etc for toast, juices, and several coffee choices that were quite good.OK, so the egg and meat offerings were pre-cooked and kept warm in steamer trays, but the staff kept everything filled and fresh. There was a small gym with the basics: a treadmill, a Stairmaster, a bicycle machine and a home-gym type system for weight training. It, too, was spic and span with fresh towels, a water dispenser, and television. This Best Western was not only a great deal (price-wise) it is probably a better hotel than many in the area that claim to be "fine" hotels!

"Fantastic Location, Good Breakfast, Spacious Rooms"

23/08/2017

We sadly only stayed one night here between trips to Maine and the Cape. The reception staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with comfortable beds and decent showers. The outdoor pool was brilliant and we would have loved to stay longer. We walked into the dock area which took only a few minutes. Breakfast was plentiful and well staffed/stocked. I would definitely stay here again.

"Good Location, In Need Of Modernisation!"

19/08/2017

We spent a week here, our first impressions of the hotel were quite good as the reception area etc was lovely. When we got the keys to our room we were very excited and being very tired after a ten hour drive from Washington DC we were anxious to get into our room to have a rest. As we opened the door the first thing we noticed was the Fusty Smell and how Dark the room seemed as the décor was Very Dated! We know that the hotels in this part of the US can be different in style but these rooms definitely need brightening up and Updating! The switch on the bathroom wall which should have controlled the time the extractor fan was on was broken so everytime you put the light on the fan was on constantly! The maids did a great job of cleaning the room but our shower curtain did not smell very nice and had a stain on. I think you should get some new ones and wash them more often! The breakfast room is lovely and the staff very friendly.

"An Oasis in Plymouth"

19/08/2017

In a bustling tourist town within walking distance of historical sites, restaurants and shops, this BW Plus was our oasis. The property and location of the rooms are beautifully set. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. They were not only knowledgeable about the property, but every person we talked with knew the area and where to find whatever we needed. The room was beautifully appointed and incredibly clean. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows, and the bathroom was immaculate. This property raises the bar for Best Western ... kudos to all who made our stay delightful!

"Quaint & beautiful"

The location is ideal and so close to the water. The grounds of the hotel itself is well maintained and so quaint! Plenty of parking. We stayed in the Prscilla Arden room which was fabulous! Great large jacuzzi tub as well as shower. There were two gas fireplaces, two televisions, and a couch with a king sized bed. The hotel itself is clean and very comfortable. All the amenities you need! Staff were also very friendly and accommodating. It was a great stay. Great for a romantic getaway. I could not have had a better stay!

14/08/2017

My wife and I decided on the spur of the moment to visit Plymouth. This was our first experience at this hotel. In short, we were VERY impressed. The personnel were unusually pleasant and responsive, the grounds are lovely (much nicer than the usual chain hotel), the swimming pool was in a bucolic setting, and the breakfast was ample. We had several delightful chats with hotel staffers. This Best Western is a significant cut above others we have visited. Clearly, this hotel is run by a group of true professionals. The Best Western corporation should be proud.

"Gurls weekend away"

14/08/2017

Selected this motel over another because of the free continental breakfast thats available & included in the price. Its the same type of breskfast that you get at other name brand hotels except area to sit is very crowded more so than those others. I would have given this establishment 5 stars but I found a long hair in shower & had to get rid of a dead spider in the bathroom. The ac wasn't keeping room as cool as i wanted during the Night/sleeping & was wondering if it was somehow programmed for motion. It would go back to orginal temp., but when walking around in the morning it went to selected temperature. The room was otherwise clean, beds comfortable & the room was a nice size. Don't rent any movies at red box as there is no dvd to use!!!

"Nice facility but beware when you make reservations of cancellation policy"

4
14/08/2017

This is a very nice hotel that I sought out when coming to a family funeral because we had enjoyed our stay here so much several years ago. I made reservation just a few days before leaving on the hotel's own website but did not read the cancellation policy. I rented two rooms because my son thought he might try to come. He was unable to come. I tried to cancel his room and found that there is a 3 day cancellation policy. Buyer Beware!

"Great hotel and location"

08/08/2017

We stayed here for 6 nights in one of the suites which was in the building opposite reception. The room was large, very clean and looked like it had recently been renovated. The hotel is set over several buildings in lovely grounds. There is a pool which we used every day - it was clean and warm. There are towels provided and plenty of chairs/sun loungers. Breakfast was excellent - lots of choice and all of the food was very fresh. My daughter loved the waffle maker! We sat outside on the patio most days to eat. All of the staff here are very friendly and helpful. Kevin on reception let us borrow a a Boston guide book which was great. We would definitely recommend this hotel!

"Excellent Motel for value"

Very clean room, friendly, helpful staff, excellent location. The room was very clean and certainly adequate, very nice for the price paid. The pool was lovely and continental breakfast was standard fare, but nicely presented with attentive staff. Housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful.

03/08/2017

Almost like staying in a park with outdoor seating areas, plus pool. Price is more than we usually pay but we were, after all, in a resort town. Very large room and shower. I would recommend. Lots of places to eat in the downtown. Concert in the waterfront park the night we were there (a Weds).

"Great Location, Friendly Staff"

Best Western Cold Spring in Plymouth, MA is our favorite "go to" place to stay near the Cape for a get away. The pool area is excellent and well equipped, the breakfast is better than average and well stocked at all times - you will LOVE staying here ! Wonzel is a gem of an employee at the front desk - he will make you happy ! I would go to any motel where he works.

"Great Staff"

25/07/2017

The housekeeping and office staffs were wonderful, the room was spacious and nicely appointed. However, there were water stains on the ceiling and a pervading smell of mildew, which gave me headaches. The fan in the bathroom was loud, but did not draw up steam, and could not be adjusted or turned off. Finally, I was unable to reserve a room on the hotel's website, so I tried Trivago, which did have rooms at that hotel, but the reservation cost me an extra $100 per night.

"Not what I would expect from a Best Western "Plus""

22/07/2017

The location of this hotel is it's best amenity. Close to shops, restaurants and attractions. It is set in a very nice setting, with a lot of trees and plants. The buildings are spread out among the property. The staff was very nice and helpful. Decent free breakfast. If you have a Do Not Disturb sign on your room's door they would leave a basket outside your door with fresh towels and shampoo, conditioner, soap etc..... This is an old property and gives you more of a motor inn (motel) feel rather than a hotel. We stayed in room 10. It was very clean, but extremely outdated. The bed had a dip in the the center. There are no hooks anywhere, including the restroom to hang anything. They do not supply enough hangers. The WiFi provided was not good inside our room. We got a better signal by stepping outside. We were there in July during tourist season and apparently because of the location. They could get away with charging $220 per night, but the room itself is not worth that amount in my opinion.

"Nice place to stay in Plymouth"

20/07/2017

Hotel is family-friendly, neat and clean. In room fridge, microwave, and coffee was convenient. Very close (maybe .5 mile) from the main tourist area, and area felt safe to walk through. Pool area looked nicely kept. It was quiet, and they have a 10 pm noise curfew, although it wasn't loud during any of my stay.

"Nice Hotel - Good Location"

10/07/2017

We just stayed at this hotel for a few days while we were attending the Levitate Music Festival in Marshfield, MA. As for location, if you are there to visit Plymouth, this is a great location. Just a quick drive (or a 20 minute walk) to the main downtown strip with all of the restaurants and shops. It is also a very short drive to the water and Plymouth Rock. The hotel is very cute. It's a motel style, with separate buildings and individual entrances to each room. We got lucky and got put in a separate building that were almost set up like cottages. Not sure why we got that room, but I was glad to have it as we were coming back from the music festival late, and it was nice to not worry about disturbing anyone. The rooms have a mini-fridge and a microwave, which are good bonuses to have. The room was a bit dated, which is the only downside. It reminded me more of a beach cottage than an updated hotel room. However, it was quite comfortable. The bathroom was a decent size. I had very little interaction with the staff, other than check in and check out. Both times they were very polite. We did not make it to the free breakfast, so I can't comment on that. Rooms and grounds are kept well maintained. This is a great place to stay for a visit to the area.

We were pleasantly surprised with our room. Our room was spacious and clean. Our room was in the front of the property and had a bedroom and a small living room. We visited the pool, but it was quite cold. The included breakfast was a nice touch. We were able to walk to a few nice restaurants and to the Mayflower from this hotel. If ever back in the area, we would stay here again.

Dear GHtravelteam, Thank you for sharing a review of your stay from last year. We are happy to read you enjoyed your stay and our location. From your description, you stayed in one of our suites with two queen beds in the bedroom and a queen pull out sofa in the living room. The suites are located in the building across from the registration desk and breakfast room. Our hot breakfast buffet is served from 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM. We hope you will return but keep in mind the Mayflower II is currently being renovated at a shipyard in Connecticut and will return in 2019. There is an exhibit on the wharf where she docks called "Should I stay or Should I go" for this summer. Again, thank you for your comments. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"Unique Accommodations"

29/06/2017

This Best Western Plus is located in a quiet section of Plymouth, MA. Rooms are located in several separate building so it feels quite cozy and intimate despite its overall size. The staff is excellent; friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is standard Best Western fare, which is more than adequate to start the day in good shape. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Highly recommended.

"Satisfactory"

4
29/06/2017

Pros -satisfactory breakfast -adequate room space -good parking -clean room -disposable cups/glasses -good tea/coffee supply in room Cons -dirty outdoor pool (we went summer so there are bugs understandably) but pool should be cleaned periodically during the day. to be fair, when I let them know, they cleaned it the first day. but the next day, i had to tell them again. i didn't feel it was clean enough so i didn't take a dip. -coffeemaker plug dangerously close to the sink. the electric outlet for coffeemaker was 3 inches from the wet sink. there was not enough space to put coffeemaker in. i tried to squeeze it in but it was dangerous because hot water drips when i moved it. hopefully they can put another outlet away from a wet sink other than that we had a satisfactory experience. will come back again:)

Location is great, close to downtown, restaurants and shops. I recommend for anyone visiting the Plymouth area.

Only stayed one night, passing through. Very large king size room. Comfortable bed, very good breakfast. Very clean all around! Love when the bathroom shines like someone cares about a good job!! All areas were nice and bright. Even the elevators were very clean! Can't say enough, too bad we couldn't have stayed longer.

Nice, clean, close to everything. Very good full buffet breakfast. Pool is good. Very quaint and relaxing. The personal will help to tell you about restaurants and tours. Newspaper is provided in the lobby.

"Exceptional service"

Easy to find on the main street through town. Only a mile north of the crowds in downtown Plymouth. Close to the Monument to the Forefathers on Allerton Street. The rooms were clean. Parking right at the door to the room. Good breakfast, including sausage, eggs, fruit, waffles and muffins. Breakfast room was clean and staffed. EXCEPTIONAL customer service.

"Going to see family in our hometown"

We came here for a week stay to visit family and found our best place ! The rooms and entire property is clean and neat as a pin. The property itself is like a walk in the park with a pool, trees and flowers and plenty of nearby attractions to walk to like Plymouth Rock and all the waterfront. The included breakfast was wonderful with freshly cut up fresh fruit, yogurt, whole fruit and waffles, eggs bacon pastries with coffee and tea available all day.the staff are all friendly and helpful. There are plenty of nearby restaurants and shops .

"Very pleasantly surprised"

12/06/2017

I was expecting a "traditional" hotel with interior corridors, and so was surprised when we arrived to learn that this was more of a motel-style with exterior entrances. Nevertheless, everything was top-notch: The room was completely updated and clean, the service was great at the front desk, and the breakfast was yummy (with a good selection). It is technically within walking distance (about a mile) to downtown and waterfront attractions, and we were lucky enough to have good weather so the walk was nice. But if the weather is bad, you'll probably want to drive, and parking is definitely tight downtown. (I think the trolley stops nearby, but it's seasonal and wasn't yet running when we visited.) Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again if I'm in the area.

"Great location and value"

12/06/2017

We picked this best western because it has three-bed suites at a reasonable cost and the location was convenient to the family we were visiting in the area. This property is what I'd call a "high-end of the middle range" of motels. The breakfast had some additional items of higher quality than available at comparable properties. The staff were uniformly pleasant and helpful. High quality toiletries were provided and replaced daily. The room decor was dark and lacking in character but all the fixtures and renovations to the property were first rate.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at this Best Western. We loved the room, slept really well, bed was very comfortable and room was quiet. Tv remote was supposed to be in a clean packaging but had a stain on it...and the breakfast options were ok but not the best quality, sugary packaged pastries and microwave eggs. The staff however were all great and helpful with advice on what to do and how to get around.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at Best Western Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Courtney Z, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our hotel. I am glad to hear you enjoyed your room, your sleep and our staff. I have addressed the remote cover with the housekeeping staff, thank you for bringing that to our attention. I apologize that we missed that on our room inspection. Any suggestions on what you would like for breakfast are welcome. In addition to the items you mentioned we also offer hand cut fresh fruit, assorted cereals, oatmeal, two types of yogurt, make your own waffles, assorted breads, English muffins, two types of bagels, juices and coffee. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"An excellent place to stay!"

Our family of four stayed here for four nights and I cannot say enough about the staff, the stay, the location and our overall experience. At every interaction, the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating; our room and the amenities offered were clean; the breakfast was excellent and enjoyed by all of us, even our picky 3-year old; and finally the location was amazing. You're minutes away from the waterfront, where there a multitude of restaurants, as well as a beautiful walk along the beach and a playground. You're also minutes away from shopping and a short drive from Boston. The only negative we experienced was our room had an old smell. We left the door open to help this, and eventually we were used to it. If you want to truly experience Plymouth, while being comfortable with where you're staying, this is the place!

This place was a gem! Best stay on our trip and we have stayed at two other BW before Plymouth and two more since. None have compared to ColdSpring! Front desk associates were extremely personable as well as helpful. Breakfast was wonderfully done. There was a fresh fruit salad each morning, as well as yummy chocolate muffins! Rooms were large and well maintained. Housekeeping very attentive to details. This hotel is just a short drive to downtown and all the attractions. You won't be disappointed if you stay here! We enjoyed our stay very much!

Last minute booking for the last 2 nights of our road trip. Great location just one street back from the front/ beach marina area. Good room, spacious and clean with plenty of storage facilities and good size bathroom. Outdoor Swimming pool for use if you want to. Breakfast was a complimentary continental style breakfast with a good choice of food to be had, all presented in a clean well kept location/breakfast room next to reception. Loved my stay thank you.

Hotel is located only a couple of blocks from the waterfront. Check in and out was very easy and they made us feel welcome. Room was very comfortable and everything worked as it should. Breakfast room is adjacent to the check in desk and was very spacious. Food choices consisted of both hot and cold items and there were plenty of choices. Would definitely stay there again as we toured all the history Plymouth has to offer.

We stayed in off season (early spring) to visit nearby Plimouth Plantation. Everything was quiet, very clean, staff was very nice, kids loved breakfast, and the value for the money was fantastic. There isn't a negative thing to say about this place. It is close enough to the attractions in Plymouth to be a convenient walking distance without being so close that you have to hear the night life. The included breakfast included a lot more than I would have thought. The room was very clean and the service was wonderful. Great location overall!

"Very clean, but kind of noisy"

My wife and I stayed here for one night, Saturday night, and the room was very clean but it was kind of noisy. The full breakfast was included and was pretty standard fare with scrambled eggs, sausages, bread, bagels, etc. There was also juice and coffee for drinks. Cereal, waffles, yogurt and fruit looked good.

"Great Place!"

22/04/2017

Stayed here for 5 nights whilst on holiday in USA. The reviews I had read were good, but the BW surpassed my expectations, It is a lovely, quiet place, attractively set out with accommodation blocks spread out amongst plants & trees. I liked the fact that its family owned & has an interesting development history. Staff were friendly & very helpful - there was a mix up with my final payment which the hotel put right for me even after I had returned to the UK which I thought was excellent service. Rooms large & comfortable & we had connecting room with our children. Breakfast good & plentiful, small outside eating area for good weather. Coffee in lobby. There is a nice air conditioned gym. Pool large & nice, plenty of loungers. Hotel is located slightly out of town but very close (10 mins walk) to a small beach & the marina, where there are some good shops (check out the ice cream shop!) & places to eat. Overall very good value & excellent stay.

"People make the difference"

19/04/2017

Having come to the wider Boston area the first time we highly valued the friendly ness of the hotel team members. They were very much focused to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Making us feel well and at home was the spirit that the hotel personnel was displaying, also with regard to local seighseeing activities and not hotel related activities. The staff went the extra mile for the sake of their guests, and there was a clear appreciation and feedback from our side. I such a situation you are happily settling the bill on the departure day, without any negative thoughts or considerations. We can highly recommend this feed on the ground and very cosy place in Plymouth. We would definitively come back once in the area again.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights while exploring the area from Plymouth to Provincetown. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Upon checking in, we were given a map of the area and directions to downtown and to the harbor. Breakfast each morning was lovely. We were greeted by Wonzel and he was so helpful to us. It really helped to make our stay at the hotel very enjoyable. Parking was very easy outside our room. The room was excellent and we have no complaints about it. I guess we would have liked it to be warmer at night - but this could have been due to our inability with the air con !! Wonzel's guidance on places to eat in Plymouth was excellent!! Breakfast at the hotel was very good. Another excellent bonus was the off-licence over the road. Pionzis, I think it was called. Fantastic selection of beer at a good price. Loved it in Plymouth, and loved staying at the hotel. Great hospitality in a great location.

"A Surprisingly Perfect Place to Stay in Plymouth"

5
17/11/2016

Our experience at the Plymouth Best Western could not have been more perfect. From the darling updated room and bath to all the amenities like a coffee/tea bar, easy to operate TV, to the Free internet and ultra comfortable mattress, Best Western anticipated everything you want to have in a hotel room far from home. I also have to say how wonderful Wonzel at the desk was to us. I left a few items in my closet and he said, "No problem. We will ship them out to you and just charge the shipping on your card." Perfect. He was funny, welcoming and kind - three attributes you hope to find in people working at your hotel, but don't always. At checkout he was so efficient and friendly at the same time. When I called later to report I had forgotten a cape in the closet, he called me at home to say he had found three other items and was sending them all to me. I was so grateful and relieved. That man is a treasure.

"Great staff, great breakfast, great room, great value!"

These folks put hospitality into their mission. Really an amazing amount of pride shown by the staff and the property. A bonus was the availablity of a laundry onsite. Breakfast is different everyday.

"Great Place to Stay in this Tourist Town"

4
15/11/2016

Since Best Western has been upgrading their location, (BW), they are a very good place to stay again. This is a good location to stay while in Plymouth. While you can walk to downtown, I don't recommend it. We were there in September so parking was available downtown. If you were there during the heavy tourist season, it might be worth the walk. The rooms are very nice, comfortable, with plenty of hot water. We had parking right at our door. The breakfast buffet is above average. The hosts are so friendly and helpful. This is one of the best places we have stayed in a long time!

"Definately a "PLUS" hotel"

06/11/2016

Excellent experience at this Best Western designed as a "plus" level. This is an expansive hotel including several buildings with two floors (no elevator). The room was well sized and equipped and very up to date. The breakfast was well stocked with a wide variety of food. Every staff person was friendly and helpful. Excellent choice if you are looking for a place to stay in Plymouth.

"Wonzel is the Best"

04/11/2016

Stayed here for 4 nights on a Road Trip, Had to come to Plymouth as we live near Plymouth in Devon, England. Anyway, Wonzel. what can we say, he is a breath of fresh air, every hotel reception should have a Wonzel, so enthusiastic, helpful and nothing was ever to much trouble. I think my wife found a friend for life. They got on so well. Told us everything about the hotel and the area, so helpful. Hotel itself, we had Room 30 which was just on the hill above main area. Very clean, excellent standard, comfy, no noise from other rooms, laundry room in block was useful, easy walk to the town and harbour, only 15 mins. Easy access to Cape Cod Area and Martha's Vineyard. All in a lovely hotel, would stay again and well recommend.

"Nice place, staff were great"

01/11/2016

We stayed for three nights as part of a tour of the USA. The place is well placed for visits to Plymouth Rock, as well as Boston and Cape Cod.Rooms were clean, quiet, comfortable, and fully equipped. The staff could not have been more helpful and obliging, even loaned us a kettle to make tea (we are English), they helped with information on visiting Boston, using the train from the next town, rather than Plymouth where the service is poor. On that note, getting tickets was easy from the tea caravan, paying for the car park at the station very difficult, it has to be paid via an app to download on a smartphone we did not have. An American couple on the train did it for us, and then started us on our tour of Boston. Shops and eateries near the hotel.Car parking outside the door. The premises are not new but in excellent condition, and overall they set the standard for Best Westerns, which was not beaten.Breakfast part of the deal, and great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at this property our last night of a 12-day trip to the Boston area. That evening Jack said, "This is my favorite hotel room of our whole trip." It was also the least expensive of our whole trip! It was a large room with two queen beds. The bathroom had a sink, but there was also a sink area in the room itself, which works really well for two staying in the room. There were also two side chairs and a table which we liked. The staff was exceptionally helpful with information on the area.

"Reasonably close to most attractions"

5
26/10/2016

The room was spacious and comfortable. Our room had two queen beds with two separate sink areas. It was nice to have room for both of us to get ready at the same time. It is a little bit of a walk to most of the attractions but if you can walk a couple of miles it is nice since you don't have to hunt for a pay parking spot. It was in the upper 40's when we visited so it was a brisk walk. The breakfast buffet was good and the staff very friendly.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Michael C, Thank you for your 5 Star review of Best Western Plus Cold Spring. 24/10/2016

We were lucky enough to stay here for 9 nights on our recent US trip and it was a lovely place to stay. After walking non stop for 10 days in New York and Boston, we did plenty of walking here but a bit of rain meant we had an enforced rest and it was great to have such a comfortable modern room to chill out in (the in room coffee is welcome when you come in from the rain!). From the moment Kevin checked us in until Wonzel ordered our cab back to the station, we were well looked after by all the staff who take a pride in their customer service. Our room was not only comfortable, it was huge and had everything we needed. There is a great buffet breakfast constantly replenished by the attentive staff and the breakfast room, and all the rest of the hotel, is spotless. There is coffee available in the lobby and if you are very lucky warm cookies! The lobby is full of local information, and old photos of the hotel which has an interesting history itself. The grounds are beautifully kept and on a warm sunny day it must be lovely to use the pool from where there is a great view. The location of the hotel is fantastic, it's a short walk to the town, a short cab ride from the station, and there is a shopping plaza opposite the hotel with a big Rite Aid and best of all Pioppi's Liquors which is a fantastic shop. Good choice of channels and HBO on the hotel TV. Housekeeping finishes at 12 but if you put the do not disturb sign on as we did a few days they will leave clean towels and toiletries outside your room which I thought was a great idea. If you run out of anything else from the room just ask Wonzel like I did who is only too happy to help! I loved our stay and it was the perfect place for us in Plymouth.

My review of Best Western Plus Cold Spring, Plymouth Massachusetts. The room had a muskie smell to it. On inspection of the shower, I opened the shower and the drip tray fell on the bathroom floor. The hot water faucet handle was so loose, I had to be careful it did not fall on the floor too.

Situated on the road into Plymouth from Boston. Easy 10/15 minute walk into the centre, road not busy, or just walk down to the sea on the road opposite. Hotel was clean and good service with the usual BW breakfast. In room coffee, fridge microwave. Room we had looked a little tired, and the initial smell of the cleaner or disinfectant they had used was a little overpowering, but it soon dissipated or we got use to it! It wasn't my first choice for these days but overall it was adequate for the nights we had and it was quiet.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear howards244, Thank you for taking the time to write your review of Best Western Plus Cold Spring. Thank you for letting me know of the overuse of the disinfectant. We will work in training with the staff to not use so much where it impacts the air quality. Glad to read you did enjoy the service and the location. I hope you will consider us again should your travel plans plans bring you back to Plymouth. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

This was a great stay... we were greeted warmly and offered an upgrade upon arrival, and we were very pleased with the suite we had. The breakfast was great... lots of choice, fresh fruit, and yogurt. Our only disppointment was that we only had one night in Plymouth to enjoy it!

What a super find this hotel was. We had a fantastic welcome, all the reception staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable, so many extras with this hotel. We had a room right at the back of the hotel with a lovely room over looking the pool and a view of the ocean. The pool was lovely and a really super spread for breakfast. The hotel is within walking distance of all the main attractions and a stonethrow from the beach.

"Great service, great room, great location"

20/10/2016

I stayed at the Best Western for two nights, while visiting an elderly friend in nearby Duxbury. Not only was it easy travel between the two locations, it was, also, an easy walk to the Plymouth waterfront (shopping, Mayflower II, Plymouth Rock, etc.) The hotel is a large, landscaped property of several buildings. The rooms are lovely & well-equipped. Fridge & microwave were included. Breakfast is available in the main building & includes various protein sources & hot foods. The staff was friendly & helpful. Hint--Unless you walk easily, ask to stay in the buildings near the road. Next trip to Plymouth, I will definitely stay here again!

"Excellent Place to relax"

The Best Western is a great place to stay. It is in a convenient location with access to downtown Plymouth and the waterfront to do all your shopping. The waterfront has all kinds of great restaurants to have great food and drinks.

"Beyond my Expectations"

18/10/2016

Our room was far more than I had anticipated. There was a table and two chairs; a desk and desk chair; two queen size beds; a full bathroom as well as a sink and mirror outside the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and it was a treat to have the table and chairs available. The complimentary breakfast was awesome! There was everything from fresh fruit, eggs, cereals, meats, yogurt, and more pastries than I've ever seen at comparable motels. The serving dishes were never empty and the dining room staff was friendly and most helpful.

"Long Weekend"

17/10/2016

I have to say, I would stay here again for a short get away. The rooms were large and spacious. I had a king room. I loved the way the rooms were situated. It is near the center of Plymouth, MA literally around the corner from the beach. The front desk has a professional, personable customer service rep on duty. His name was Wonzel. He was so helpful. I wish I could have met Kevin, the Director of Sales, he is wonderful to work with. He was very flexible with me as I had a gift certificate and kept trying to use it over the summer, which the hotel was consistently sold out. NOT A BAD THING!!! It was nice...woke up Sunday morning to pouring rain, which made the day even better believe or not!!! We watched the New England Patriots put an butt-kicking on the Cleveland Browns..yep. Another one bites the dust!!!

Wonderful staff. We were greeted like we were family. Clean rooms very comfortable beds.. Good buffet breakfast (both hot and cold items). Within walking distance of the waterfront. Would not stay anywhere else.

"Great stay in Plymouth"

13/10/2016

Very nice property in Plymouth. Close to beach area with restaurants, shops, historical sites. The hotel was great, friendly staff at the desk, helpful, area map on back of hotel grounds map. Breakfast was in a very pleasant room with windows, well supplied, plenty of seating. Rooms were upscale, and very clean. Excellent property for the money.

"Return to Plymouth"

10/10/2016

A return visit to Plymouth resulted in a return visit to Cold Spring. Four years later we were met by the same gentleman on the desk, very friendly and luckily they had a room for the night. You usually manage to park outside your room which is convenient. We had a double Queen size room which was comfortable and clean. A breakfast is included which was enough for us too last the day.

"Excellent accomodation and parking facilities"

5
08/10/2016

We had 4 nights at this motel and it ticked every box. Being able to park directly outside the room was a huge plus and there are many room on the ground floor so people with children or mobility issue are going to find this really helpful. The staff at the front desk were really helpful and polite and directly opposite the reception area is a small fitness room which is very clean and well maintained. There is good air conditioning in the bedroom and the beds are huge. There is a hospitality tray in the room and a good size refrigerator. The breakfast room offers a good choice and this is in with the price of the room. Fresh fruit, juices, hot drinks, waffles yoghurts pastries, toast, 2 hot dishes. BUT. The layout of the servery and the tables in the dining area is hopeless. It needs some serious re adjusting as people wanting to get something from the servery are trying to squeeze themselves past the tables where people are sitting. It really is a poor layout but apart from that the staff do an excellent job of clearing away and making sure there is plenty of food coming out of the kitchen to top up the server. I would definitely stay there again - it's a good choice for people who are out and about every day.

Dear joy l, Thank you for writing a 5 Star review of Best Western Plus Cold Spring. So happy to read that you enjoyed your experience. Thank you for your room comments and suggestions on the breakfast room. We are looking at getting new furniture so the layout can be changed and the "flow" of the buffet improved. We look forward to your return visit and hope you will like the changes we are planning to make on the breakfast room. Warm Regards, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"Old and tired "

05/10/2016

For the price I feel it is expensive for a motel. Rooms are very old and tired and the fan on the bathroom sounded like a helicopter taking off. Everything didn't feel clean. Breakfast room don't bother unless you don't mind sitting on top of people in the smallest breakfast room I have ever seen Very budget but not worth the price

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear SW44London, I apologize that you did not like your stay at our hotel and we did not exceed your expecations. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] so I may find out which room you stayed in so we can fix the bathroom fan. Yes, our breakfast room only has eight tables plus a common table. We do offer additional seating for breakfast in a room adjacent to the main breakfast room. Were you able to take advantage of that room? Again, thank you for taking the time to let me know of the issues so we may improve our service to our guests. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"bed needs updating. pillows too big and hard"

3
04/10/2016

The room had a mild, musty odor. Window did not lock. Bed and bedding needed updating. One side of bed had a bit of a worn well or sunken area. Also, bed had mild urine odor in spots. The pillows were so big and hard, that I was more comfortable using my jacket as a pillow. Overall the room and property was clean and well kept. Breakfast was very nice and staff was terrific. Hotels should focus on sleep needs; after all, that is why we sleep in hotels.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Margaratte P, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I apologize we were not able to meet your expectations but I appreciate you making us aware of the issues your experienced. 04/10/2016

We liked the setup of the property. It was spacious and nicely planned to blend in with the ambiance of the small town of Plymouth. The room was nice enough. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok - with good coffee and fresh fruit among other standard offerings. We were surprised how comfortable the bed was. Our only complaint was being in a room close to the street. Though the nights had less traffic, we are not used to any traffic noises and would have liked it quiet. We would stay at this property again.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Claudia H, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Best Western Plus Cold Spring. Glad to read you liked the the bed and the staff. As I explained in a separate e-mail to you, the room type you selected are all at the front of the property so you were placed in a room furthest away of that room type. When you make your plans to return, please contact me at [email protected] and I will let you know what is available and how close it might be to the road. Looking forward to welcoming you back to Plymouth, Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

02/10/2016

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our room was half of a small cottage away from the main strips of rooms. It had a nice sized fridge and microwave. The continental breakfast had something to suit everyone. Every single person on staff that we encountered went out of their way to make us feel at home. It felt like we were talking to old friends. The motel was only a few blocks from the wharf and it was an easy walk there and back. A small shopping center is directly across the street as well. Great price and super convenient!

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Sheri B, Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice review of Best Western Plus Cold Spring. Could not ask for a better place to stay while in the area. Front desk help very polite and helpful, they even gave us printed directions for a day trip! Breakfast area clean and well stocked, one morning we had to eat in the over flow area upstairs and a gentleman came up to offer refills on coffee! The room was spotless! I do believe this has been the best hotel we have stayed at on our many travels.

30/09/2016

This hotel surprised and delighted us. We usually stay at a Hilton chain hotel and our previous stay in Plymouth was too far from town to walk. This is very different from any BW we have stayed in before. We drove past at first not seeing the sign because the hotel sits next to a stately residence. When I walked in the door I was greeted by the smiling Wonzel. He was cheerful at the end of the day and the next morning when I saw him again. He is a treasure in the hospitality business. We walked to town easily through a lovely neighborhood. I will always stay here when I return to Plymouth.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear 6Miles01, Very happy to read such a nice review of our property. Glad we were able to to make your trip a pleasant one and thank you for your kind words regarding Wonzel. Thank you for your recommendation and we look forward to your return. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"Great Hotel"

22/09/2016

Wonderful hotel in beautiful Plymouth, MA. The hotel complex was so pretty and the room was just perfect! There was an outside pool set up on the hill which was quite pretty. The grounds were spotless as was the hotel room. Have never stayed in a hotel with such nice ammenities, such as a large bathroom counter in the bathroom and another one outside the room. Nice patio area outside the first floor rooms with tables and benches and chairs to enjoy the outdoors were there. It was just a very nice place to come back to after touring during the day. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Lynn G, Thank you for your 5 Star review of Best Western Plus Cold Spring. So happy to hear your enjoyed the hotel and the grounds. "Perfect Plymouth location"

20/09/2016

We stayed two nights at the BW Plus Cold Spring, and were very happy to be there. For the cost is was quite nice, and better than we expected. Reception on arrival (Sheila) was very friendly and very helpful, with good recommendations on dining, and how to get around both by car and by foot. Room was comfortable and clean and spacious. Would suggest asking for an upper room or single storey bldg if you are a light sleeper so you don't have anyone walking around above you. Lovely wooded setting and quiet area, easy access to everything in Plymouth area.

"Beautiful hotel"

18/09/2016

This hotel is set on beautiful grounds. The pool had an ocean view and everything was clean. The staff, especially Wonzel, we're extremely friendly. Nothing seemed to be a problem for them and they were happy to help. The rooms were a good size. The free breakfast was good. It consisted of eggs, sausages, porridge, cereal, toast, waffles, pastries and yogurts. There was something for everyone. I would definitely return!

"Beautiful place and great staff."

"Wedding Weekend"

4
12/09/2016

Stayed at the Best Western for our son's wedding weekend along with our out of town guests (24 rooms). The front desk and housekeeping staff were welcoming and helpful. The grounds were lovely and the location quiet and convenient to town. Many of our guests were not used to "motor courts" but most enjoyed their stay very much. There seems to be a wide variety of room sizes and amenities. Some large rooms with fireplaces and at least one room with only a shower. The breakfast was quite good. One guest had a problem with noise coming from a utility room but the motel was quick to offer a partial refund for the inconvenience. Would definitely recommend the Best Western for a relaxing stay.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Notsotravlinman, Thank you for sharing the experience of your stay at Best Western Plus Cold Spring during your son's wedding weekend. Thank you for your nice comments regarding our staff and location. Each of our 7 buildings does have a separate room type; many of our rooms with a single king or a single queen bed offer a shower only in the bathroom while all the other rooms have a shower and a tub. The rooms with the fireplaces are the Superior King rooms and also feature a jetted tub and pull out sofa. Thank you very much for your recommendation! Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"WE KEEP GOING BACK"

5
11/09/2016

We have tried every hotel in Plymouth over the years and found BW Cold Springs has the best rooms, the best complimentary breakfast, and parking that is close to the room. The waterfront is an easy walk as is downtown. We especially like the proximity to may golf courses that my wife and can enjoy playing (not too long). There are many other things to do a short distance away. We have made Plymouth an annual vacation destination as well as dropping in for a long weekend.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Christopher E, Thank you for your return visits to Best Western Plus Cold Spring and we hope you will be doing so for years to come. And, as you know, there are plenty of golf courses to enjoy as Plymouth has the most number of golf courses of any town or city in the state! With our location, you are just 1/2 mile from a wide variety from restaurants and just 1 mile from Plymouth Rock and Mayflower II. Looking forward to your return visit. Best Wishes, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"New Decor!!"

5
10/09/2016

Its always nice to come back here but this time the room decor has been updated. It looks very nice and more modern then it was. The color scheme still seems to fit well with the hotel - very tastefully done. The blockout curtains (best in the world!) are still there so you get a great nights sleep.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review

Beautiful and quiet environment, with good parking. The staff were very friendly. We came very late at night, but after calling the staff they arranged with information to get to the room on our own. Breakfast was very good in a tidy area. Everything was just perfect. May be a slight smell from the floor carpeting, but not a problem. I will not hesitate to stay here again. Øyvind

"Room rather dark"

4
08/09/2016

Lovely staff, lovely facilities (pool and gym), lovely breakfast, but the room we were given, although clean and comfortable was very dark and the low ceiling made it seem even more confined. Maybe we were given one of the cheaper rooms.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear mouseHerts, Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay. Happy to hear you enjoyed the staff, facilities and breakfast buffet but sorry to hear you found the room to be dark. Was it the amount of sunlight coming into the room that made it dark or was the in room lighting not sufficient? Please e-mail at [email protected] so I can check the specific room you were in. We appreciate your comments as to how we can improve so you will want to return. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

This was an excellent property. Set back in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to the waterfront area. Beautifully maintained, nice landscape, attentive staff. 04/09/2016

From check in to check out, this motel did not disappoint. During check in, they took the time to show us a map of the property and pointed out the locations of everything. Then they showed us a map of the town and gave us pointers on where everything was located and even suggested various restaurants. Super nice pool area that you have mostly to yourself because everyone else is in town sightseeing. Really impressed with the complimentary breakfast which had enough choices to satisfy anyone. I really liked the parking spot right outside my door which was super wide. Everyone on the staff was just great. Did I mention quiet? Really quiet and peaceful. Tip: Parking in Plymouth can be a real challenge plus expensive. The free parking lots fill up fast. The paid lots are $1.00 an hour or $10.00 a day. The wharf area is less then a 20 minute walk from the hotel. So leave your car at the hotel and walk to attractions.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear nickison, Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a pleasant review of Best Western Plus Cold Spring. The grounds of the hotel are spacious and filled with trees. Our room was clean and comfortable. The windows open to get the fresh air. The complimentary hot breakfast was great! Really glad we picked this hotel, The staff couldn't have been friendlier. The room was clean & the complimentary breakfast was very good. The pool was nice & clean. The whole setting of the hotel was calm & tranquil which was great after the bustle & noise of New York. It's just a couple of blocks to the sea front. The grounds are well-maintained, rooms are spacious, updated and clean. The staff is hard-working, courteous and friendly. Upper section of rooms nearest the pool likely have a distant view of the ocean since I could see the ocean a little from the poolside. Breakfast was nice for my family. Easy walk to the Nelson park. What kept this from being a 5...beds were too firm for both my husband and I, ran out of hot water on our last night there (appeared to be a full house) and the DirectTV went out at about 9pm our last night there. Overall, would still recommend and return.

Wonzel at the front desk was extremely helpful as well as personable. We loved Wonzel! The free hot breakfast was plentiful and yummy. There is a nice outdoor pool. The property is absolutely gorgeous and well maintained. It has a really cozy cabin vibe to it and the staff were the best. From the moment we checked in to when we checked out, we felt so comfortable. The best service we've ever had in a hotel. The rooms were really clean and in great shape. Hot showers and mini fridges in all the rooms. The only downside is that the beds are getting to be a little on the old side. They're probably ready to be replaced. While the prices are a little steep during the summer, they are worth it. The hotel is located right on the main drag of Plymouth and you can get to any of the action by walking about a half mile - about 10 minute walk. We highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a hotel in Plymouth.

"A Great Place to Stay"

I haven't stayed at a motel in ages, and this was a great one. It was pretty and well kept. The room was spacious, clean and had a comfortable bed. Breakfast is served down in the lobby, and if the breakfast area is full, they have outdoor seating. Would recommend.

"Perfect Stay"

17/08/2016

We were in town for a wedding and stayed here for 3 nights. The place is great. Would definitely stay here again. I would though, request a room on the second floor next time, just a little to noisy in the morning on bottom floor. My sister stayed in one of the cottages offered and they were great too. Front desk was very accommodating. Within walking distance to harbor and dining.

"Fit our needs just right"

We stayed one night here during a buddies golf trip. Considering the locale, this was a good bargain. The rooms were large and the beds were comfy and refrigerator in room. Both of the gentlemen who we dealt with at the front desk during check in and out were very courteous. The pool has not yet opened (5/15) but will soon. What's nice is the free breakfast which consisted of a Belgian waffle maker, danishes, oatmeal, greek yogurt, cereal, bagels, eggs, bacon, muffins, fruit and who knows what else I left out! Of course, juice, coffee, tea and some other drinks. I left feeling good!! Would stay again!

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear elmaun, Thank you for such a wonderful review. Happy to hear your golf weekend worked out so well. As you may know, Plymouth has the most number of golf courses of any town or city in MA. I am glad you enjoyed our breakfast selection as the staff wroks hard to keep everything fresh and well stocked. Hopefully you can return next Spring for another weekend of golf and stay with us again. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"For Quality and Value. One of the Best"

17/08/2016

Kevin is mentioned often in reviews, and not without reason. He worked with us to change a 1 night stay into a 3 night. The grounds are immaculate and all the staff we spoke with were friendly and knowledgeable. We travel a lot throughout Canada and the USA and have stayed in some of the worst and many of the best. This hotel has to be in the top 10 Best. Great location to visit Plymouth and close to some very good eating places. If you read a bad review for this hotel, please ignore it. Obviously the owners provide the staff with the $ tools $ to do the job. Not something all hotels do.

"So accommodating and very nice"

14/08/2016

Reception was so accommodating, offering 24 hr coffee/tea with cookies. They were very helpful on tourist places. Our room 48 was very comfortable and spacious. The beds were great! Housekeeping did a great job. Nice Pool (no life guard), nice grounds. Across the street from a little mall (liquor, pizza, discount variety store, exercise place, quick bite stand). This hotel serves a nice buffet off the reception area. You can sit inside or outside. I love the outside sitting. They serve eggs, cheese omelettes (small), sausage, hot waffles, yogurt, fruit salad and fruit (bananas, apples,) several types of cereal, hot cereal, different coffees, and teas. Bagels, toast, english muffins, slices bread, etc. All hot items were hot especially the coffee. You can walk to Water street (left out of hotel, right on Nelson Street, then all the way down to Water Street, where there are countless restaurants, plymouth rock, Mayflower II, stores. Or you can drive, 5 minutes and park for free or pay a dollar or two. We found housekeeping, and the cafe staff very accommodating and friendly.

This is a very lovely place, very cosy feel at walking distance from the quaint city center of Plymouth. grounds are lush green and well kept. Rooms are spacious, clean and well furnished. A very good bed, good mattresses and pillows. Small fridge is great to put some water in, airconditioning works like a charm and the shower seems recently re-done. great sink with a lot of space for your stuff. Also lovely that every room has 2 chairs outside to sit and relax. Breakfast is good, enough to choose from and very very friendly staff everywhere! So genuinely kind and helpful. Our thanks go out to the reception and breakfast room staff. Would highly recommend staying here.

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Plymouth from the UK. This is a motel style place with good sized rooms with a fridge and microwave, the bathrooms are a good size. The staff are very welcoming and informative. There is a buffet breakfast serving hot and cold items. There is a nice outdoor pool with plenty of towels too. We really enjoyed our stay here, the room being adequate for a family of four.

Best Western never disappoints, it just exceeds expectations. After 4 long arduous days sightseeing the big sign greeting us was very welcoming. Comfortable clean and courteous is their mainstay. The staff were great as always and the room was perfect. The breakfast was fulfilling and set us up for another day of adventure.

We liked the multi-level group of rooms and the landscaping. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. Swimming pool is very attractive and the breakfast room was clean and just roomy enough. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Just for a one night stay but we enjoyed the partial view of Plymouth Bay and the setting. I will choose again if in Plymouth.

Dear Michael C, We appreciate you taking the time to review Best Western Plus Cold Spring and are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. Based on your comment of the "partial view" of the Harbor, you were in one of our standard rooms on the second floor of the "hill" building - located by the pool. The way this property is laid out, it gives the guest a feel of being at a bed and breakfast. it is tucked away from the busy city area, but only a few blocks away from the Harbor area which is filled with great places to eat. The property is very well taken care of.

This facility is great. Set on a multi-level property, the Motel has front door parking, great breakfasts and a quiet environment for a long or short stay. the pool was located in an area to avoid noise from it annoying other residents. We were very happy with our experience and, would stay there again if in the area.

Stayed with family just for one night unfortunately. Lovely welcome by reception staff with some great info about the surrounding area and restaurants. Rooms were perfect for the price point and the hotel offers a fitness room and lovely pool as well as convenient free parking. Hotel is maintained well and gardens also. Pretty close walk to the fantastic Plymouth centre. Overall, this hotel is much much better than the price would suggest, fully recommend a stay.

after all day long sight seeing tours, getting back to our best western was a much welcome relief. Boston was hot and humid and the pool was wonderful, we were able to head back out for dinner down by the ocean and enjoy the local flavor and be rested for another day. we were very pleased with the staff and service and would recommend this best western to all....

This hotel was so wonderful! The staff, Mark and Wonzell greeted us so warmly, gave us lots of advice on where to go, what to do. The rooms were so clean, rocking chairs on the balcony, patio seating, a nice breakfast that's included. Highly recommend.

03/08/2016

Although the rooms were updated they still seemed old. They were spacious and clean. My only complaint about the room was the constant on and off of the AC. I loved the layout of the motel and the breakfast was good with fresh fruit/again very clean. The workout room had cheap equipment and the one treadmill kept turning off during use. The staff was exceptional.

"A little jewel near the heart of Plymouth...."

03/08/2016

We stayed here, expecting a run of the mill motel.......what we found was an updated, clean, delightfully comfortable place to spend some time..... The beds seemed brand new and comfortable. You could have convinced me the room was brand new and I was one of the first to stay....... The grounds are well kept. The location is great........just a short walk to the heart of Plymouth and the Mayflower II. Buffet breakfast was served. There are many good restaurants nearby for lunch or dinner......

"Comfort and convenience for downtown Plymouth MA"

02/08/2016

We were here for a wedding but also appreciated the easy access to downtown Plymouth. Our room was comfortable though the pillows on the bed were rather too thick for comfortable sleeping! Breakfast was good though the breakfast room got rather crowded; even though there is an upstairs option, no-one seemed to want to use it!

For a best western, this place surpassed my expectations! The rooms were clean and fresh - microwave and fridge included. Every room has their individual router for better internet connection. The place in general, feels like a resort. The breakfast had a huge collection. The location of the hotel is just perfect- maybe about a mile from the harbor. Overall, an excellent place to relax and have a great vacation!!

We stayed here one night, got in late and checked out early. The manager was very nice at check-in and the room was adequate for our needs. "Surprised!"

4
24/07/2016

I'm not a fan of Best Western Hotels or indeed of 2.5 hotels generally but this one surprised us with the standard of accommodation and grounds. Wonzel got us off to a good start at check in and we felt warmly welcomed. Requested a second floor room and this was not a problem. Room was nicely sized, looked like it had been updated but TV would have benefitted from HBO or similar. Grounds were landscaped and well maintained and outdoor pool was great although, again, would have benefitted by having more umbrellas. Two umbrellas for a pool area of this size is just not enough. Breakfast included, didn't fancy the burger/sausage type meat but everything else was fine. Overall, did best Best Western and 2.5 hotels proud!!

"FANTASTIC!"

My son and I spent overnight here and really enjoyed our stay. This Best Western is set up like a small village which is quite unique. The front desk staff was very friendly gave a great orientation of what there is to see and do and also the location of the Lobster Hut Restaurant. He even offered a map of Plymouth. Outstanding service!! The room was very comfortable and spacious. I didn't have to spend any money here as I used my Best Western points. I will be back and recommend others to this hotel.

We arrived without reservations in July on a weekday and had no ploblem getting a room. Clean bug free room. Price was only $20 more than a B &B. Close to all attractions.Outdoor heated pool, exercise room. Everyone we came in contact with was helpful and pleasant. 12/07/2016

The rooms are spacious, with a traditional feel, and are clean and well maintained. The pool was popular with families, but no noise even though our room faced towards the pool area. Parking right outside our room was a bonus as the were travelling around New England and had lots of luggage. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly and helpful. The proximity to Plymouth and Plimoth Plantation ( just a few minutes drive away) makes this an excellent choice for sightseeing

"An Overall Pleasant Stay"

12/07/2016

We stayed there for 4-day using Plymouth as our center point visiting Cape Cod. You can reach Hyannis within 30 minutes and Falmouth about 40 for ferry. I decided against staying at Hyannis after checking their price and suitable accommodation; BW Plymouth worked out better in my trip. I can tell from my contact with hotel management this is a well-run establishment. The free breakfast was great with the usual hot and cold items. I reserved two rooms, one is King bed and the other double queen. They put their King-bed rooms in a separate building and the room size is smaller than the Double-Queen room; the price for the KB room is slightly lower. But if you have lot of stuffs to carry in a trip, I would strongly recommend you to book the double QB instead. In the first night of my visit, there is an issue with moth congregating outside my room. I reported to BW management and it was promptly taken care next day. I did not see any moth after that night. All was well with my KB room after that. The other double QB has no insect issue but my kids were bothered by noise at night due to guest walking around at night. One night there was also wild things going on next door around mid-night, so they banged on the wall to quiet them down. Other than that everything was fine with their stay there. If you don't mind their out-of-date décor in the guest rooms, I don't see any reason not to choose their comfortable double QB. Parking space appears to be sufficient and it is spacious for most car size. But if you want to do coin laundry there, you do need to know their hours is from 8AM to 8PM there. Since it takes at least two hours to complete most laundry, that means you most likely waste an entire morning if you can start at 8 with no competition. And if you want to complete before 8PM, that means you should consider different dinner hours or use take-out. That is something hotel management needs to improve by adding laundry room else where so its operation will not affect guest staying there. I ended up driving to the Mayflower laundry on Court Street 5 minutes away to start my laundry at 7.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Wheeling Traveler, Thank you for your review of Best Western Plus Cold Spring. I am glad you found our location central for things to do in this part of New England. Yes, there are more gypsy moths in South Eastern Massachusetts than we want - they say it is a result of the very mild winter we had. They are everywhere you go but are especially attracted to light. I am sorry you found our rooms' decor to be out of date as we just finished remodeling all our rooms over the last 16 months with new bathrooms, carpet, furniture and wall coverings. I hope you will consider us again should you find yourself in our area again. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"Wonderful stay"

12/07/2016

We stopped in Plymouth on the way from Boston to NYC, and we were so tired and stressed from Boston traffic when we arrived at the Best Western. But Wonzel at the front desk completely changed our attitudes! We have never had such a warm welcome when checking in to a hotel, and he took the time to mark all of the places we needed to go on a map, along with dinner recommendations. And there were free cookies! We were able to walk to the waterfront for dinner, and Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower were a very short drive away. The hotel grounds are nicely landscaped, and everything is very clean. There are different buildings, and we stayed in the one nearest the pool, which was great for our kids. The free breakfast in the morning was excellent and much better than others we have run into. There is also a small outdoor courtyard you can eat in if you don't want to sit in the breakfast room or if it is full. Although we normally stay in this type of hotel when traveling for just a night's stay, this one felt different than most - more attention to detail and more care, rather than just a mill of churning tourists in and out of rooms. I'm guessing the ownership has a lot to do with that.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Stefanie H, Thank you for your 5-Star review of Best Western Plus Cold Spring. It is nice to hear that the welcome you received from Wonzel was able to help with the ordeal of the traffic on the way here! 09/07/2016

This hotel has a wonderful "family" feeling about it, and everything about it seems to be a little better than it needs to be. Somebody really cares. The location, while very near the attractions of Plymouth, is just far enough away to avoid the tourist zoo. The furniture in the room has a very warm traditional feel. The staff are very welcoming and really seem to want to help you. I understand that the hotel is family-owned, and it shows. Also, it has a great swimming pool! I would highly recommend it.

05/07/2016

Stayed 1 night only in July 2016. Nice basic hotel for family stay. Both room and pool very clean. Grounds well kept and hotel rooms are spread across a hilly landscape. Parking is right outside your room so should not be an issue. If walking up/down slanted driveway to breakfast is an issue mention that when you check in. My kids loved running up and down the driveway. If you like to sleep in, avoid the rooms numbered in the 20s. These room windows catch the sun in the morning, even through the blackout curtains.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear ScottUSF, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Best Western Plus Cold Spring. I am glad you found the room, pool and grounds to be clean and well kept as we are fortunate to have a staff who works hard. The "hill" building, which you were in, is also the closest to the pool. If you do not like those rooms, try to mention at the time you make your reservations that you prefer to be across from the breakfast building. As we sell out many periods in the summer, we may not always be able to move your room type at check-in. Hope you can stay longer next time you are in Plymouth. Best Wishes, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"Great breakfast and friendly staff"

30/06/2016

The good points are the great breakfast and the nice staff. The hotel is also in a relatively good location--quick drive to Plymouth Rock and wharf area. However our room was dark and dingy and smelled very musty. If I hadn't been so exhausted and doubtful of a better one, I would have requested a room change. The motel is old and appears as such. It's really very worn and malting more than a motor lodge. A bit expensive for what you get.

"Lovely hotel - brilliant staff!"

5
30/06/2016

We loved our stay at this hotel. The location is excellent (about 5-10 minutes' walk from the centre of Plymouth), the rooms are large, well-appointed and spotlessly clean. The grounds are immaculate. Breakfast was good and although the breakfast room is small, we didn't have to wait at all even though the hotel was full. The pool was nice to sit by for a few hours at the end of the day. We had a lovely, relaxing time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. However, this hotel's X factor can be summed up in one word – Wonzel ! All the staff were excellent (friendly, efficient and helpful) but Wonzel at the reception desk was so exuberant and enthusiastic. It was a joy to see someone so genuinely happy in their work. Seriously, Best Western, work out a way to make copies - every hotel should have a Wonzel !!

We are overseas visitors from the UK. We arrived mid afternoon and we're welcomed warmly, when we got to our room my Husband was thrilled to see a Fathers day card and gifts, which our kids back home had arranged and paid for by phone, and the hotel staff had kindly organised. We didn't make use of the hotel amenities as we were only staying one night, but the room was comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was great! Thank you, We will recommend.

24/06/2016

I travel to Plymouth regularly for work. I arrived late and saw the hotel office was closed. My first thought was, "this is what I get for not sticking with the HIlton"; however, they had me all taken care of. An envelope on the inside door with my name. Inside all the instructions. It was well handled. My room had a private entrance and was nicer than I expected. First, it was large and had plenty of space; Second, it had windows on the front and back allowing for ample light; Third, it was clean and comfortable with a very nice updated bathroom. The following morning I went to the desk to do my formal check-in and the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was fine, as you'd expect from any chain. The only reason I gave four stars was due to parking. I had no where to park except at the bottom of the hill in the main parking which is closer to the office. I liked that my room was up there and away from everything, but it wasn't a pleasant walk late at night. Otherwise, I'll definitely be back. It is in walking distance to the waterfront.

This hotel is located not far from most of the activities in town. We walked to just about everywhere we needed to go - restaurants, Mayflower II and Pilgrim Hall Museum, etc.. The guest rooms were renovated and clean. The breakfast room was a little small, but there were plenty of food to choose.

What a wonderful place to stay! The grounds are beautiful, the room was clean and perfect for what we needed. I loved sitting on the porch in front of my room having a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The staff at the hotel are so friendly and helpful. The only thing wrong with our trip was that we couldn't stay a few days longer! Cheesy, I know, but it's the truth. If I'm ever in Plymouth again, this is the only place I'll stay and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. A good base for Cape Cod. Cleanliness is not enough, rooms a bit outdated. The hotel is scattered in several buildings of short stature. Separate dining building. Excellent Service, quiet sleep, good location for travelers with a car. Not enough privacy.

Dear meniku, Thank you for taking the time to review Best Western Plus Cold Spring. Yes, our 57 rooms are situated in 7 buildings over five acres and two of those buildings are two story buildings. "Excellent hotel but too expensive"

20/06/2016

Nothing to complain about with this hotel but thought $215/night for a Best Western Plus was a bit steep, even if it was a weekend stay. The room was large and clean. The pool was very nice. We don't usually have maid service but they dropped off a basket of towels and toiletries. My wife liked this.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear davidiC5886DY, Thank you for your review of Best Western Plus Cold Spring. I am glad you appreciated the "do not disturb" basket the housekeeping staff left for your room. Sorry you felt we are expensive but you did stay with us on a full house weekend in our busiest season. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

I booked a suite since we are a family of 4. My room was great. I wish I was staying longer than overnight cause the location is close to everything. It is walking distance to the waterfront and some local shopping. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. My room was clean and worth the price. I would definitely come back and recommend it to others.

A great, clean hotel within walking distance to the port/bay attractions, shops and restaurants. Breakfast was great, staff members were all friendly and helpful The air conditioner was a little noisy but it would not deter me from staying there again.

This hotel is a not new, but is well maintained and clean with very nice grounds. The staff was helpful and friendly. We could walk to the Mayflower II and Plymouth Rock (which is a bit underwhelming) and the restaurant area.

Stayed here for just one night due to time. If I would have known this hotel was this good, I would have tried to change our travel plans. First off, this is not like any other hotel we've been to. The rooms are sectioned off into several locations on the property so there is a lot more privacy. From the check in to checking out, the staff was the friendliest and most helpful we have dealt with in a long time. The room was very comfortable with all the needed things for our stay. The breakfast was better than most hotels and very fresh. Next time we are in this part of the country, we will look no further for a place to stay, this will definitely be our first choice.

Immediately greeted by Wonzel upon arrival. Our room was ready sooner than we expected and we could not have been any happier. It looked exactly like it did in the pictures, and to top it off it was "hospital clean" (to our standards!) The furnishings were modern and thought was put into the decor. I can't say enough about how comfortable the bed was! All the little things always make a big difference. The area was quiet and close to downtown. The continental breakfast was better than I've ever seen. Complete with make your own waffles, fresh fruit, sausage and eggs, bread, yogurt, coffee and cereal. The workout room was clean and modern as well. We're already planning on returning in August!

Very friendly staff who could not do enough for us to make our stay enjoyable, we stayed in a queen size room which was a good size and cleaned daily to a high standard. The buffet breakfast had plenty of selection including several hot items as well. The hotel was well situated about a 10 mins walk to the harbour, would definitely recommend a visit to Plymouth plantation.

We have 3 children under 5 and this was our first family vacation, brought about by my brother's wedding. The staff were able to accommodate 2 cribs in our suite and did an excellent job of cleaning up after we left the room a disaster every morning. Everyone was pleasant and friendly. The hotel has a shallow pool that the kids loved and is convenient to a great park with a playground, the beach, and downtown. Thanks for making what could have been a very stressful trip more relaxing.

My sister and I were traveling down the East Coast on a history trip and wanted to spend one day in Plymouth, MA. We enjoy walking about the towns that we visit, so I reserved one night here because it was located in the town of Plymouth. This place is located on a side street in a residential area. It is beautifully laid out and landscaped and charming. Check in was quick and the staff was very, very nice and extremely friendly. I had reserved a suite with two queen beds. We were directly across from the office area and a private home on the property. Parking was easy and walking into town was wonderful. The area felt very safe even walking back to our room after dark. The suite itself was truly wonderful. It was very, very clean and decorated simply but very modern. Our beds were comfortable and made up perfectly. A large dresser and flat screen television was opposite the beds. The rugs were spotless. The bathroom had a nice vanity, tub/shower, a very powerful fan, and was spacious. Also, very clean. Outside of the bathroom was another sink and vanity, a large mirror and a coffee maker, next to that was a nice closet for coats. We also had another very large room with a sofa, television and a full desk. A wonderful place for kids to keep their belongings and watch television. The breakfast the next day was very nice, hot and cold foods. The room was comfortable with plenty of places to sit. The staff was very helpful and courteous during breakfast. Overall, I was highly impressed with this Best Western.

Avoid the rooms near the road if you want to get any sleep. Very noisy traffic and apartment building next door wasn't very quiet either. Nice enough staff, and continental breakfast is nice because you can eat what you like and avoid what you don't.

My wife and I stay here right before the busy season last, planned to return but it hasn't happened YET. The room were a little dated but large and clean with a nice comfy bed. The room also had everything you could need, LCD TV, Coffee maker, Microwave, Fridge, Hairdryer, Desk, Internet, etc. The outdoor pool and pool area are awesome, very large with plenty of seating. The location is great also just a few minute walk to downtown Plymouth, the ferry to P-town, and the best beach in the area. They also have and excellent free breakfast with indoor and outdoor seating, you won't need to eat again until dinner! We hope to get back here again some, this time in mid summer.

We rented a room for a week while my husband had business in the area. I tagged along to check out Plymouth and Cape Cod. When we arrived, we were greeted by Wonzel, who spent a lot of time helping us understand local attractions, fun things to do, what was open, what wasn't, and great places to eat. We took some of his recommendations and they were fantastic. Every time we saw him during the visit, he had a sunny smile, a warm greeting and always seemed genuinely interested in making our trip and stay happy. Our room was in the carriage house. It was spacious, comfortable, clean and well-appointed. Whenever we used something (coffee, makeup wipes), it was replaced with more of the same item. (For example, they left us four coffee packs after my husband drank both of the original caffeinated coffees.) The pillows were fantastic. The mattress was firm and comfy. It was quiet and dark and we slept great. We went to bed very early a few nights because of my husband's work the next day, and I didn't hear a peep even with the early bedtime. The continental breakfast has a good mix of hot and cold items. (For example, meat, eggs, bread, pastries, yogurt, waffles.) Food was refreshed regularly, there was ample seating room and everything was fresh and delicious. The ladies who worked the breakfast room were kind and efficient. It's only a short walk to the waterfront. Straight down the road across from the hotel is a nice park with access to the bay, which offers nice places to walk, places to sit and enjoy the view and a park for kids to play. It's only a bit farther to waterfront restaurants and whatnot. My husband asked me to mention the cookies. They have Otis Spunkmeyer cookies out at the front desk and they're delicious. I originally chose this hotel because we've had good experiences at Best Westerns and because it was inexpensive and near where my husband had to work. Now, though, I'll definitely stay again when I want to roam around Cape Cod or Plymouth.

Excellent location in the heart of Plymouth, close to all the major attractions! Every employee had a smile and "hello" each time you saw them! The breakfast buffet gets an A++++ - the best buffet we've had with fresh fruit and hot eggs and sausage from a hotel! However, our room #7 was in the older part of the property, it smelled extremely musty, even with the door open! The bathroom door was not an open and close kind of door, it was the kind you pull out of the wall - not much privacy there! And for whatever reason on the last day the cleaning people took our shampoo & condition from the shower and left us with nothing to bathe/wash our hair with the next morning!!!!

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear M9028MOcharlesp, Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Best Western Plus Cold Spring. I am glad all of the staff made you feel welcomed and you enjoyed the breakfast as our breakfast attendants work hard to make sure you get a great start to your day. I appreciate your comments about the room you were in. I am surprised you felt it was musty as the carpet, walls and bathroom are new. Yes, it does have a "pocket" dooor between the bedroom area and bathroom. Some of our other rooms also have pocket doors and they will close tightly if pulled. I have gone over with the housekeeping staff about the re-stocking of bath amenities. I apologize but the housekeeper did forget that step when she did your room. I did receive the card from your room which you left with the front desk staff but if you have any other comments, please feel free to call me at 508-746-2222 or e-mail me at [email protected] We are always looking for ways to improve the guest experience. I hope you will consider staying with us again if your travels bring you back to Plymouth. Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

29/04/2016

We booked this place based on the reviews on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. The location is not on the water, but is just a few streets up and very convenient. The fellow who checked us in was very helpful in helping us choose a spot to eat our dinner and provided a large map of the downtown area. This is a large motel with 2 separate entrances off the street and built on several different levels of the property. The room was very nice. The bed/pillows were wonderful! The heat was quiet and it is on a quiet street. We got a great night's sleep which we much appreciated since this was our first night after traveling all day and we were beat. The bathroom was completely updated with a new shower and basin area - really everything in there. The breakfast was nice. It was served in an area just off the reception area and had a good selection of foods. We were surprised to see real dishes instead of paper. If we make it back again next year, we will definitely plan on staying here, and would recommend it to anyone traveling there.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Saxeygirl, Thank you for sharing your review of our property on TripAdvisor. Our two entrances serve any of the seven buildings on our five acres. Each building offers a different type of room and different bed size. Thank you also for the comments on our breakfast and the real dishes used. We also recycle the newspapers turned in to the front desk and have just installed over 90 solar panels on two of our buildings which can supply enough energy to power up to 10 homes. I hope you can make it for another visit next year and we appreciate the recommendation. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"Did Not Listen"

28/04/2016

I called the afternoon of our reservation about 1:00 and said we would be checking in late. I spoke with desk staff and explained our need for a quiet room and were told "No problem." When we checked in I again mentioned our need for quiet room and were given our keys. The room was quiet until after we were nicely settled in bed when people began clomping up the stairs and talking loudly. This noise was intermittent, but went on much of the night. When I spoke with the person at the front desk upon check-out they said "Sorry, we can put you on a list so you will always be upstairs next time. That is the only place we can be sure is quiet." The hotel complex is huge and I felt like we had clearly stated our need for quiet, and no one cared or even listened. We have family in Plymouth, and we visit often, but we will NOT be staying here again.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear VegGardenPro, I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We do listen to our guests. This is why we placed your room in the "hill" building - furthest away from the road. Unfortunately, we do not know how noisy your neighbors are going to be on any given night. Should you ever return here, or stay in other hotels, if the noise of your neighbors prevents you from getting rest, always feel free to contact the front desk and they can handle the situation. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"Did not honor reservation beginning on Friday night last October 2015"

2
25/04/2016

The room was nice and clean and the breakfast was an added bonus. However, the Friday night experience was horrible. Before this trip, I don't know how many times I called and verified my transaction. However, since we were traveling from L.A. to Boston and had one stopover in Chicago, we had to rent a car at 1:00 a.m. early on Friday allowing us to arrive at the motel at 3:00 a.m. I was told a key would be waiting for us in the lobby. However, an employee showed up and said we would have to pay for an extra day even though it was officially Saturday. We had Friday, Saturday & Monday reservations. We refused to do this, so went all over Plymouth looking for a room to sleep in and didn't get one until 5:00 a.m. We had to pay extra for the few hours we were there. Also, we went back to the Best Western @11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Needless to say, we were totally exhausted by this whole experience and we had to attend a wedding that same day.

kevinmV1997SL, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear MaryAnnOrlow, Thank you for the positive comments you made regrading our clean rooms and the breakfast. We did honor the reservation you had made on line but you arrived a day early. Your reservation was made to arrive on Saturday, October 24, 2015 with departure on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. The problem occurred when you arrived a day early. The web site you made the reservation clearly states that check-in is after 3:00 PM on the day of arrival. The person who made their reservation for Friday, October 23, 2015 was still in the room at 3:00 AM. I explained this to you while you were here and in response to two other negative reviews you have made on other social media sites. Best Western Plus Cold Spring did honor, in full, the reservation you made. Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend, while we were moving my mother-in-law. After driving by the hotel more than once and seeing their ads in my mil's churchs bulletin, we said lets give it a try. Kevin welcomed us with open arms, enrolled us in the best western rewards program, which is I am glad about, with all the traveling we do. Our room number 30 looked like it was recently remodeled, very comfortable and a great view. Thanks again to everyone, you were all great hosts. We will return.

"Okay but room was dark, too cluttered and tatty in places"

3
23/03/2016

Stayed for one night in March 2016 and having stayed in other Best Western hotels on this trip was very disappointed with this one. The outside was good - easy to find and it was clean and tidy. However, our room (No 9) was an okay size but had too much furniture in which made it seem small as there was limited space to open two suitcases out (as no point in unpacking for an overnight stay). The room was quite gloomy due to dark paint on walls and large furniture and dark (stained) carpet. The paintwork was also tatty in places. Considering the price paid for the room (particularly compared to other similar hotels stayed in) this was disappointing.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Chilpups, I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay with Best Western Plus Cold Spring when you were in Plymouth last week. However, I thank you for taking the time to share your review. Yes, there was sheet rock dust ground into the carpet from when a new shower was installed in room 9 over this past off season. I apologize for having missed this when I checked the rooms at the beginning of this season but we are taking care of this issue right now. As far as the price, I know prices at the property and on bestwestern.com for the day you stayed were very competitive with the other hotels in Plymouth. I see you went through a third party so I am not aware of the price they charged you. Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any additional comments. My e-mail is [email protected] and I hope you will give us a second chance should your travels bring you to Plymouth. Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"Good for a motel"

3
23/03/2016

Thought we were staying at a hotel, but this turned out to be a motel. We were a bit surprised because snow was forecast for the night and breakfast was served in another building a bit of a walk away from our unit. We had to drive there as I am in a boot cast while I recover from ankle surgery. There was no way to request consideration for mobility issues online, also. Luckily, we were booked into a first floor unit. Rooms were comfortable and clean, but noise from above was a bit of a problem as the people staying over us played music through much of the night. The sound of their footsteps also seemed to indicate a lack of sound barrier in our ceiling. The included breakfast was okay, but not hotel standard.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Callisto, Thank you for your review. Yes, we too were surprised by the snow - and thankful we only received 2 inches and not the 6+ that was predicted. We do have seven buildings over 5 acres. The deluxe two queen rooms, the mobility accessible rooms and the suites are located directly across from the building with the lobby and breakfast room. You made your reservation through a third party which has several web sites under different names so I do not know if their web sites offers a "comments" section like bestwestern.com offers. Our front desk staff works hard to make sure all comments are noted and honored if we can can. After a long trip from Bar Harbor, ME in severe rain and horrific and terrifying traffic in and around Boston, I arrived at Best Western Plus Cold Spring at around 7 p.m. I checked in and the gentleman at the desk (I didn't catch his name) was so welcoming and friendly. He told me I'd be staying in the Priscilla Alden Suite--which turned out to be it's own building! The downside: the porch light was out, but it wasn't so dark I couldn't see and it was right along a main road, so if you're a light sleeper it may be an issue. The positives: This was an amazing room! It had a living room with pull-out couch, a flat screen tv above an electric fire place, a mini refrigerator and a microwave that then led into the bedroom, which had a flat screen tv above another electric fireplace, large closet, full-size desk and a huge bed with gorgeous linens. The bathroom was phenomenal--whirlpool tub, separate shower, fully lighted vanity and it was very spacious--pristinely clean too. Although I only stayed one night in this hotel, it was an amazing stay. It was accommodating and centrally located to everything in Plymouth and the staff was wonderful. The continental breakfast was good--I'm happy with coffee and a bagel, so I'm not a good reviewer of the breakfasts. Check out was simple and again everyone was so friendly. I learned later that my room the Priscilla Alden Suite was named after the wife of one of the original Mayflower passengers.

My wife and I spent one night here when visiting the local attractions. We were very pleased with the accommodations. The room was quiet and clean. The staff was most pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was a nice feature. We did not use other amenities. We departed refreshed.

Dear Raymond S, We are happy you enjoyed your stay last November; thank you for your kind words. I hope you will return again this year to see some of the changes we have made over the winter months to our guest rooms. Warm Regards, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager.

"Last stop on a Tour of New England"

We stayed 2 nights here in October 2015 at the end of our New England holiday. I was a bit concerned about traffic noise as our triple room was near the road outside, however once the door was closed it was ok. Breakfast was a relaxed affair near the reception area & was more than adequate. This Best Western is in a good spot as you can head down a side street on foot to the coast & then walk into town, a pleasant walk albeit we used the car at night. Plymouth gets very busy with tourists so we were pleased we had picked a place slightly out of town. Another advantage of this hotel is the ease of parking on site, in our case directly outside our room. We found this very convenient.

"Clean, well cared for and very pleasant"

We stayed for one night with 4 kids in a suite. Staff was very pleasant and the hotel and grounds were well cared for. Room was tidy and in good condition. Breakfast was great. I would definitely stay here again. Some road noise so I would recommend asking for a room away from the main road.

Dear Imaparm, Thank you for your nice review of our hotel. I hope we will see you for the 2016 season as all of our deluxe two queen rooms and suites are just being completed in their remodeling efforts - new furniture, bathroom tile and counter tops, carpet and wall coverings. Looking forward to a return visit. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager

"Nice Stay"

Room was clean, a little musty being so close to ocean but that was expected. Breakfast was very good, better than expected. staff was extremely helpful. Not within walking distance to Mayflower, or the rock but very close and convenient to attractions. Wifi was sketchy, but did not need it for long so that was OK. We were on a corner room first floor by the pool and could hear everyone walking on the steps by the room and the above us. The grounds were very nice.

"Great place to stay in Plymouth area"

Very attractive property, comfortable and very clean room and grounds. The breakfast room is also very clean and the food is fresh and tasty, typical breakfast. The breakfast room ladies are always attentive and friendly, as are the cleaning staff and desk people. Love the location for being close to everything in the area but far enough out to have peace and easy coming and going.

"Quiet, convenient, well-equipped and very clean"

We were pleasantly surprised by the Best Western Cold Spring. The welcome was warm and friendly and the bedroom and bathroom were immaculately clean. All the fixtures and fittings worked perfectly and, having selected a room at the back of the complex, we were delighted to find that it was very quiet at night. Breakfast was unexceptional, but quality-wise and quantity-wise it was fine. The hotel is very convenient for the centre of Plymouth and is excellent value for money.

"A return to comfort."

After a three year absence of coming to Plymouth because my family moved, I returned to staying at the Cold Spring recently and it is just as top notch now as it was when I stayed more frequently from 2009 to 2012. The service is impeccable. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and the amenities are superior. Compared to staying in other local hotels/motels, the rates are very reasonable. I would strongly recommend this motel.

Excellent value for the money. Clean, easy access, Excellent service. I do not normally stay at Best Western's but i will use them in the future. My main reason for staying at this hotel was because i had my family of 6 people and needed a room large enough for us all. Happy that we chose this hotel for the two nights we stayed while we toured the area.

Spent a relaxing weekend in a very clean, comfortable room. The bathroom had new fixtures and was very spacious. Linens were so soft and bed very comfortable. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Convenient to downtown & waterfront- we are not walkers, but it was an easy and scenic drive. We stay at many Best Western Hotels, this was a 3 star and definitely deserved the rating. The breakfast sounded enticing- but 10am is too early for us to get up on an r&r weekend!

"Really nice stay!"

I had to be well South of Boston for business, and a friend recommended this property. Check-in was quick with a very friendly front desk staff. My room was spotless, and the bed oh so comfortable. I was especially impressed by the breakfast room - large and sunny - and its offerings. Everything from fresh fruit and yogurt to bacon and eggs, a waffle press, and countless breads, muffins, and bagels...all included in the rate. Not to mention that a very nice woman kept sweeping the room, picking up after anyone who was messy. Highly recommend.

Just a bit away from the harbor this is a nice place to stay. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, staff is helpful and there is a brook running behind the hotel. You can look down on it from the second floor.

Great place to explore this part of New England. Plymouth has plenty to offer as does the surrounding countryside. The hotel is ideally placed to make the best of both.It is pretty, functional with great staff. No flaws during our stay here.

"Really is a GREAT place to stay!"

We only stayed one night in this hotel, but would have gladly stayed more. The room was spacious & very clean & the staff was very helpful & courteous. Sadly, we had to leave before breakfast was served, on the advice of the office staff (we had a fairly early flight departure from Boston). I can't remember the gentleman's name (he had a son who lves in Round Rock, Tx), but he gave us great advice on when to leave & how to move over & gain access to the HOV lane on the way to the airport. So helpful - we made our flight without too much stress in all that crazy traffic! Would definitely stay here again & recommend it for any traveler.Be sure to take the short walk from the hotel to the "Monument to the Forefathers". I somehow never saw this in any ads or reviews about Plymouth, but saw the sign very near the hotel & was amazed at the size & detail of this beautiful monument.

I stayed for the weekend with my girlfriend for a wedding. The bed was really comfortable as well as the decor in the room. Great breakfast and very nice staff. The receptionist gave us a map of the most visited places in the area and suggested hangout spots. This was very helpful as it was our first time in the area.

Just amazing hotel with absolutely perfect service, cleanliness and over all experience. Great historical town with this little gem of a hotel located near everything. Best Western is not the first chain of hotels I search for but I saw reviews on this place decided to try it. I'm sl glad I did, It's awesome.

This hotel was clean, staff friendly and the price fantastic. It was exactly what we needed in the area, which has many attractions. The included breakfast was delicious too!My only wish was that we could stay another day to see more of what the area had to offer.

"Conveniently Located, Beautiful Grounds, Accommodating Staff"

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 5 days. Our trip was planned around the famous New England Fall foliage. There are several different types of rooms available and ours, room 22, was in a separate little building (that looked like a house) that had 2 rooms on one side and another 2 rooms on the other. The room was only steps from the parking lot. The room itself was comfortable and clean. There is a big screen TV and free high speed WIFI available. As our flight didn't arrive until after normal hours when the office was closed, Sheila, the lady my wife set our reservation up with, had an envelope with our key available at the front door for us when we arrived. They had a slip of paper in the envelope with the WIFI log on information which was a thoughtful touch since there would have been nobody to ask for it until the next day. The grounds are just beautiful and very well manicured. Being Fall in New England, the vivid colors were breathtaking to look at. There is a fairly well stocked complimentary breakfast provided every morning with eggs, sausage, waffles, cereals, yogurt, muffins and fruit, etc. We really enjoyed our breakfasts every morning. Unlike some places we've been to, everything was well stocked right up until their closing time at 10 am. Of special note is staff member named Wonzel. He works the front desk/check-in area. What a wonderful man. Very happy, very helpful and very accommodating. Just a real decent guy and a joy to talk to and be around. This hotel is a short walking distance from all the things you'll want to see and do in the Plymouth harbor area. Excellent restaurants, quaint little shops and a number of museums, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this hotel again if I ever return to this area. It was a very pleasant experience.

Stayed at the Best Western Plus Cold Spring in Plymouth MA for an event I had to attend in the area. The hotel was nice and quaint. We arrived 3 hrs prior to the check-in time and our room was not ready so we went out for a bite to eat and within 30 min I received a call that our room was ready. Once we finished eating we headed back and they allowed us to check in ahead of the check in time (some hotels I have been to do not allow us to check in prior to the set check in time but this place was great and didn't give us any trouble). The location was great - close to lots of restaurants and shopping and tourist attractions. It was also easy to find. The lobby is small but sufficient and the front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is provided in the area slightly behind the lobby which is also a small room but contained quite a bit of seating. The breakfast was your typical "American" breakfast but it was enough to satisfy your palette. They had juices, teas, coffee along with a variety of breads and cereals, English muffins, mini bagels, a few pastries, sausage, eggs, yogurt and a waffle maker for you to prepare your own waffles. The rooms were spacious and well kept. Everything was clean and in working order. This place is great if you're looking for a no hassle hotel for one night or a few nights.

"Disappointment assuaged"

25/10/2015

We had booked for 5 nights but were so disappointed with the first room we were allocated that we almost moved hotels. When we booked we had got the impression that this WAS a hotel and not a motel. The room we were given initially (28 I believe) was dark, cold and had a 'weird' and rather noxious smell. We asked to be moved but were told there were no other rooms available. However they did say that we could be moved the following day to a deluxe room which we accepted. After a poor nights sleep (due to smell and cold) we were happy to accept the deluxe room as it was SO much nicer and we enjoyed the rest of our stay. No reason was given to the smell in the room but we were glad we had not unpacked our clothes as I had to wash my pjs the next day as the smell had permeated in to them. Although the breakfast room is small, the breakfast was excellent (probably the best (included0 we had on our 3 weeks 'Fall' trip. Everything was readily 'topped up' by the hard-working ladies and on the whole we found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly. The pool looked lovely and I possibly would have swum even though it was October, as the weather was so good, but it wasn't being cleaned and by the time we left all the chairs had been removed and the area was locked I am sure it is beautiful in the summer and a great plus point. If you go, (and yes I would recommend it now) make sure you book the deluxe room - it is not very clear on the website what the difference is - but from our experience these rooms are much better and at little, if any, extra cost.

"Just As Good the Second Time"

24/10/2015

This is a great hotel. It was just as good this time as last. The rooms are very spacious and have all the amenities - coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, free wi-fi. We had a room with two queen-sized beds, table and chairs and plenty of room to spread out. Breakfast was included and had omelets or scrambled eggs with trimmings, oatmeal, waffles, assorted pastries, cereal, fruit, etc. All of the above is great, but the staff at the desk were just wonderful. They were knowledgeable about the area, warm and friendly. Mark and Wenzel had great senses of humor and made our stay that much better.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Plymouth Ma. great room, comfy bed and nice grounds along with great staff. Close to a bunch of really good restraunts, if you want a nice quiet comfy place to stay this is it,

"Decent stay for the area"

20/10/2015

We were visiting the nearby Edaville/Thomasland amusement park (20 mins away) and we usually stay at one of the Best Western hotels and this one fit the bill. Loved how close the hotel was to the historic Plymouth town. The hotel was kept well and the breakfast was very good. My only complaint (and my own fault) that I had heavy luggages and didn't realize that we had to go to our room from the outside but going up stairs as there were no elevators. The stairway steps were narrow and I could see some safety concerns walking up these stairways. Other than that, my family had a pleasant stay.

"OK"

4
19/10/2015

We stayed here for a couple of nights and it was OK. The rooms are a decent size, set a little way back off the road and it's only a short walk to the seafront. It is a little way from downtown though, about a 15-20min walk to the main areas. There was sausages and eggs for the breakfast, but they didn't look great, so we stuck to freshly-made waffles, bagels and coffee. Not bad, but nothing outstanding.

"not your typical BW"

4
19/10/2015

I was staying in B&B's across new England and was having trouble finding one to stay in in the Plymouth, MA area. One of the places recommended this hotel and said it was locally owned and operated. I was very happy with the accommodations. The place was clean and the breakfast was better than a typical free hotel breakfast. The only thing that was a little annoying was their cancellation party required cancelling 3 days before, and I feel that is a very long time. We enjoyed our stay, however, and didn't need to cancel.

The reservation clerk was extremely helpful, professional, and receptive to our request for extra pillows. The Hotel was very easy to find off of Route 3 South. The Check-in Clerk and entire Staff throughout our stay were extremely courteous, friendly, professional and available. The Priscilla Alden facility we stayed at was exceptional with amenities that exceeded our expectations like the duel fireplaces, dual flat screen TVs all supported by their own remotes. the Bed was Extremely comfortable, the Bathroom included a Jacuzzi and ample towels. Outstanding Facility for the price! Mark & Gail R.

A very good standard of Best Western. Well located for the waterfront and all the restaurants- within easy walking distance. Breakfast was good- a wide range of hot and cold options. Some rooms are up several steps- check if mobility is a problem.

Our room was very nice, spacious, freshly redone tastefully. We had to be in Boston the next morning after our stay and the location made the drive easier. We highly recommend this location and hotel for families interested inn Plymouths history_ think they will like it as much as we did..

"Gracious and comfortable hotel"

14/10/2015

This hotel consists of several building spread over a sizable and well-landscaped campus in a quiet area of this charming old New England harbor town. Our room was large and comfortable -- two beds with lots of room to move around. Round table with two chairs plus good size desk and chair. Cabinet with drawers and large flatscreen TV on top. Small refrigerator and microwave. Two places for open luggage. All without crowding. There is one sink in the room and another sink with very large countertop in huge bathroom. Room very clean. Complimentary breakfast includes a couple of hot entrees and was fine. Very friendly staff. This property is closed during the winter.

This motel is one of the nicest all around places to stay in Plymouth. Very convenient to harbor and all cites and restaurants. It is immaculate! Has all the amenities and conveniences in the room you could want. Comfortable beds and nice linens. Outside is nicely landscaped with benches and rockers. Hot and cold breakfast served daily. The front desk people are very knowledgeable and helpful. We will be going back there for sure.

08/10/2015

We booked this hotel based on tripadvisor ratings and were excited to pull into what looked like an attractive complex with modern, motel style accommodation Our welcome from Wonzel on reception was warm and friendly with great recommendations for places to eat. However when entering our allocated room (12) all of this was overtaken by the smell of damp we were met with. This block of rooms turned out to be the originals from when the motel was built. As the hotel was busy our request to move could not be accommodated and we spent our last 2 nights in the USA in a room that we did not want to go back to. These older rooms really need to be refurbished to ensure the customer experience on arrival extends to the whole stay.

Kevin M, Assistant General Manager at BEST WESTERN Plus Cold Spring, responded to this review
Dear Michelle B., Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am pleased you enjoyed your welcome from Wonzel at our front desk but apologise that you did not like your room. All of the rooms in the building you were in were remodeled just last winter with new carpet, new walls and new bathrooms. I do hope you will considered us again and contact me directly and we can arrange to have you in another building at the time you make your reservations. We do have seven buildings over five acres and will work to find a room that you can enjoy. Sincerely, Kevin T. Martin Assistant General Manager [email protected]

Had a room for 4 nights, room was big and a big bed, the room was kept clean each day, everything worked great. Breakfast was standard but there was plenty of foods. The hotel was well positioned for us, as just over the road was a nice little take away diner, seafront was not far same as the main street, would be happy to go back. Only pick up point, they have only 1 4 slice toaster to cater for a full breakfast room

We arrived intending to stay one night and stayed for four. The hotel is clean and well appointed and is within walking distance of restaurants and the town. It is a short drive to The Plymouth Plantation and an hour on the train to Boston. We couldn't have asked for more from this hotel other than more than one toaster at breakfast and a bigger breakfast room.
