"Carpet Cleaning"

Staff was nice and Miss Cynthia a pleasure to talk to. However we did not appreciate the fact that the carpet was cleaned in our room while we were out for a couple of hours and we had to walk on wet squishy carpet until the next morning. Evidently carpet was cleaned throughout. At least they could have put fans out to help on quicker drying but better yet wait until guests have checked out before carpet cleaning.

"Nice Facility, Nice Staff, Nice Breakfast, Room OK"

I'm a well traveled business person in the U.S., so I have some experience. If you're looking for a nice, medium priced place to stay in Pawleys Island, you won't be disappointed. The facility is well designed, located in a nice neighborhood, and the staff is very nice .... from the housekeepers to the front desk. The breakfast is excellent, and served from 6 to 10 A.M., which gives plenty of time to rise in the morning, and this is not a skimpy breakfast bar. It has EVERYTHING. My sole complaint is that the toilets are too low profile, but these were being replaced during our visit, so that problem should be solved. Also, the carpeting, while attractive, has not been cleaned adequately, and for this reason, I did not give this facility, my highest rating.

Check in to check out all was excellent. The staff took extra time to ensure my stay as excellent in all ways. At first they had no rooms however by searching they were able to accommodate me due to a cancellation not yet processed. From that moment on it was par excellent.

We chose this hotel based on tripadvisor reviews. So glad we did!! Everyone was very nice and helpful. But the lady that runs the breakfast (and I'm sad that I didn't get her name) was the SWEETEST lady I have ever run into at any hotel. On our last day she gave everyone a hug....she says she likes to hug everyone that is departing. She was very upbeat and sincerely nice. Room was clean and beds were comfy. Overall a great stay!

"Best stay ever"

The motel looked fairly new but we found out it was built in the 70's. it was well kept and they had done a great job of keeping the renovation fresh and clean. The food was close to being restaurant taste and the mattress was to die for. Very good night's rest. The staff were all friendly and professional.

"Clean and quiet"

Stayed here for 2 nights while touring the area. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff is very upbeat , friendly and professional. Room is a little drab and dark. Bathroom needs a towel bar. Breakfast is pretty standard with scrambled eggs, sausage and waffles being the hot options. Overall, our stay was pleasant enough.

We stayed for 4 nights. Everything was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very sufficient, and the woman that worked the breakfast room was very friendly and on top of things. The staff was friendly and the location was very convenient to restaurants, beaches and shopping.

"Good hotel.... Buttttt"

Good hotel but we just ended up with a bad room. What I mean is my room was right beside the exit door and people were in and out all night. Oh well lesson learned. The breakfast was great and the attendant was sweet and did her best to help everyone that needed something. Upon checkout I sent my 12 year old to get receipt. Upon getting in the car I glanced down and noticed that my cc was charged for the stay. One problem I had already prepaid thru my companies travel portal. The front desk clerk didn't really believe me until I went thru my emails and found confirmation number. Overall a good hotel just don't get room 125 and watch your receipts.

This was a good homebase for visiting the beaches and shops at Pawleys Island. Was clean and well kept. It has a small pool that was clean and refreshing. We were not a fan at all of the provided continental breakfast but it did have amake a waffle station and some cereals. The breads and pastries were not very good and very little fruit. The hotel was about 30 minutes from Myrtle Beach, 10 minutes to Brooklawn Gardens, a few minutes drive to the beach.

Check in was fine. Location was 3 miles from beach. So not terrible, Great beach. Pool was OK. No hot tub. Breakfast was more disappointing than usual the scrambled eggs seemed that they came from some mix. I would eat breakfast elsewhere. But the carpets were t soiled. Housekeeping fine. Pool more of a dunking pool. A little on the dark side in the hallway.

The staff really goes out of their way to maintain the property and clean it. Every day we saw housekeeping vacuuming the halls, stairs, and picking up trash outside as well. They also do a great job for the pool. The hallways were very quiet at night and we appreciated the quality of our sleep!

Rated a 5 star but it was not. No fans in small Bathroom and no towel racks. Amenities were of poor quality. Serious Safety issues. Over the years both for business or pleasure we have stayed at hundreds of hotels. We have never had such poor care and services.

Still a good place to stay with clean rooms and beds. Staff was pleasant and check-in was fast. Not as clean overall as last year and carpets were dirty in places, just not a clean smell. Condensate was leaking on the awning for the door going out to the pool which created a mess to walk in. Extension cords were strung all over outside which created a unsightly first impression, plus these cords were run through the windows into receptacles in the rooms. Pool was nice and clean.

"Weekend "

I never really write reviews but I stayed in this hotel for 3 days for my husband birthday weekend. People don't clean your room we had a big amount of trash that couldn't be thrown away because they didn't even changed the trash can from the prior day. Bed was never made and bathroom never was clean until the day we checked out. Price is too high for what they offer. Breakfast was nasty. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here.Workers where unprofessional. Not doing their job. Had to wait for the receptionist to wake up when manager went to get her.

I was impress with customer service during check=in and checkout. The shower curtain did not smell right and the bathroom had a weird smell and I think it may have come from the shower curtain. The carpet did not look clean. The room had a stale smell.

Staff was pleasant. A few people were outstandingly nice. Every need met. Clean. Just average accommodations in general. If I needed to come back, that would be ok. Didn't get to use the pool bc rain came in. Breakfast was pretty good. Very nice breakfast attendant.

"Mistakes were made"

When my wife and I walked into our room we were met by a shocked lady. Our room was double booked. A very nice cleaning lady ran over and quickly deescalatedd the situation and then ran down and got us a new room. The next day we went for breakfast. There was a extremely nice lady (I do not remember her name) who was just awesome. She made a awesome breakfast. When we returned to the room our keys didn't work. All in all not a bad place but the double booking and the keys definitely left a bad taste.

We were in town for a family gathering. I think it is safe to say that I have never stayed at a hotel with so many pleasant and friendly employees. Everyone we encountered had a bright hello for us. Everyone asked if there was anything that we needed. Beds are very comfortable and I love the pillows. All in all a very pleasant experience.

"Excellent Play to Stay Great Value"

Found hotel on Hotel.com. Photo's looked good but past experiences with hotels in the grandstrand area had be weary. I took the leap and booked the room. This was my first time visiting Pawley's Island and first time staying at a Best Western in SC. I found a new vacation spot for my family and will be staying with BW again. Check in was Quick, Room was nicely decorated, smelled tropical, very clean. Bed was very comforable and had ample pillows. Breakfast the next morning was great, people were really friendly, Hotel employees greeted everyone with a smile and good morning. Went out and enjoyed the area came back to room around mid day took a nap because the room was so quiet and comforable. Went out for Dinner and had another Great Night's sleep.

Every member of the staff was positive, supportive and smiling. Miss Cynthia was as warm and caring as a breakfast preparer could be. Compared to other Best Westerns, it could use a slight update. However the staff more than makes up for that!

The people at the Best Western on Pawleys Island South Carolina are great. When you needed anything or just had a question on best places to go, they always were right on it. Everywhere that they sent me to was amazing food, people, places, etc. I would stay here again. Location is perfect to be about central to a lot of things to see and do in the areas of Myrtle Beach or Georgetown.

"A favorite stop on the trip to Florida"

Clean with higher level personal care items. In good repair and maintenance was kept up. Sweet little pool and fitness area. Staff were friendly and responsive. Breakfast bar was kept well stocked even toward the end of meal time. In a safe area close to shops and a very nice grocery. Restaurants nearby were very nice. Only con was the weather but they had no control over that. ??

"Experience well below last visit."

Stayed here in May and again in November. Two big problems this time. When I left just before 6 AM no clerk was at Desk. Called phone, no answer. Left key card, but no receipt or chance to review bill. The mattress in our room was well beyond useful life. It was concave and difficult for two people to sleep in.

Older hotel, but updated. Excellent staff. DeMarcus was great. My only complaint was the quality of the mattresses. They should look into changing those out. I wouldn't have any complaints if the mattress were better. Would definitely stay there again, regardless. Convenient location.

"Short visit...huge stay"

I stayed at the B.W. Pawleys on the commute from Florida to Massachusetts. The room and accommodations were examples of quintessential "southern hospitality." For the price and the value, I would highly recommend them. When I got home I realized I had forgotten a new top in the closet. The staff retrieved it until a family member picked it up. That is the definition of "above and beyond!"

"Friendly, good breakfast, quiet"

Stayed three nights in Oct with group 30 schoolmates...older group. Had hospitality room set up where we gathered, and hotel worked well with our group. Great breakfast from 6-10, and rooms were quiet. Only issue was beds appeared older and in need to replacement.....several said too soft. Frig in room, easy in/out from Hiway, close to good restaurants, very help front desk. Temperature in room easy to adjust. North side rooms very quiet. Never heard traffic. Back of motel quietest.

Had a few problems during this stay but nothing terrible. Loud toilet and trouble getting a reciept at check out. Clean rooms and warm included breakfast. Friendly staff and a great location would love to visit again in the future.

We were here for a wedding. We randomly chose this hotel and were pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. The breakfast was great, very clean rooms. We came at the end of September, it was not busy at all.

It is a hotel. What makes it so special is the staff! Each staff member went out of their way to make our one night stay feel like we were at a 5 star resort! The rooms were very clean. The breakfast was great. And the pool was fantastic. Thank you all!

Went to Pawleys Island to celebrate a big birthday for my sister. I drove from virginia and my older sistrr flew in from Florida to celebrate the little sisters birthday. We stayed at the Best Western and it was great. The staff was so friendly and accomodating. The hotel was clean. The breakfast was fresh every day. At night we sat by the pool. Can wait to go back

Great price, location with pool and breakfast. This hotel was very clean and everyone was great. Would Definately stay again. Close to food and shopping too!!! I like to stay away from the crowds in Myrtle Beach so this is my go to spot. Check it out for yourself.

Appearance of room was clean but there was a reek musty odor inside. Friendly kitchen staff and quick check-in and out service. I would not rate hotel 3 stars based on the smell, I was very disappointed about that. I believe the smell might be a carpet issue.

The room was very clean and up to date. The interaction with staff was always pleasant and cordial. They were very friendly and helpful with anything we needed. The breakfast was okay but it was free so we definitely cannot complain and the lady preparing the food worked very hard. I never seen her stop moving! If we ever need a place to stay last minute, this is where we will stay.

"Stay for a Family Reunion"

I was given early check-in and I was grateful. Victoria, the front desk attendant, has very good customer service and made me feel very comfortable. I went to my room and discovered the room to be quite humid. Unfortunately, it is in a coastal town, so you can't fight the humidity in the summer. That same humidity transfers to the room, so you must leave the air conditioner on unless you want to be dewey all the time. That is not something the hotel can fix unless they get a dehumidifier in every room. The bathroom didn't have many convenience items in it, but that was okay. It did have a pump dispenser for shampoo and shower gel which was a cute touch. I had two firm pillows and two soft pillows and I didn't even have to request them. That was nice. However, my refrigerator didn't work and I found out once I tried to refrigerate some fruit I had. I went down to the front desk and was told that a defrosting procedure had occurred and unfortunately, the maintenance person forgot to cut the refrigerator back on. It wasn't a big deal, but I had to put my fruit in the downstairs refrigerator to keep it cool until my room refrigerator got cold. Breakfast was a typical free breakfast--waffles, grits, eggs, sausage, breakfast breads, juice, coffee, etc. Ms. Cynthia, the breakfast attendant, made it a lovely experience. She is like your favorite grandmother or aunt. She kept checking on everyone and asking them if they needed anything. Very sweet woman. Overall, I would stay again, but probably in the fall or winter in order to dodge the humidity.

Just a good place to put your head down at night. We would return there again and would recommend this motel for your stay. The hot water at times seemed much hotter than it should be. The breakfast was nicely done but crowded.

"Horrible"

The first room they checked us in was horrible, I think the carpet was wet and had a bad smell( across from our room they had a carpet dryer because the carpet was wet) went to the front office to request a different room. The second room was a little better though had a bad smell bought some air spray to kill the smell. So, sad Mr. Shah( the owner) is a greedy person and likes to cut corners. We could hear the housekeeping crew complaining of things that are working properly. Also, most shocking we were sharing the breakfast room with the housecleaning crew. Breakfast was horrible they don't provide most of the items listed on their website. Below are pictures of 3 days of housekeeping. Wow! what a shame. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, do your homework you will find better a place I promise.

Reserved for a king size room with sofa bed , very clean and nicely decorated. The front desk lady was very nice and made sure our room was clean and ready since we arrived a little early. Pool was nice as well. Its right beside a grocery store which is super nice. Will stay again.

"Decent room when you have no where else to stay."

The pool was refreshing and not overly crowded. The check in staff was super friendly and very helpful. The room was a bit smelly but a few sprays of the bath and body works room freshener and we were good. The fridge was cold and the tv worked. The bathroom was clean and well lit. The beds were a bit too soft for me but I managed to sleep pretty well. You could hear the recreation from the next room but not too loudly. The laundry facility was adequate. Breakfast was good and the area was clean. The lady working the breakfast bar was soooo sweet and hard working. We would definitely stay here again for a night or two.

We were holidaying at Myrtle beach and planned to go over to Charlestone SC. This hotel was midway between Myrtle beach and Charlestone. Had a short stay. The bathroom door didn't close as the door was out of shape for the door frame. Breakfast was not getting refilled efficiently especially after 9 am although they offered breakfast till 10 am. Hallways were clean. Room was good enough size not very tiny.

Great stay, nice quiet Hotel, no complaints, family was staying at Litchfield Beach Resort and had to find a place to stay. This was a good choice. I would highly recommend this to all my friends and family. Make sure you get out and visit Pawleys Island and all the great stores

"BAD EXPERIENCE"

First of all, the Best Western at Pawleys Island should be called the Worst Western. I am a 54 year old man with asthma and a nebulizer machine. I rented the room for myself and my son who is 17 years old. For the five night stay we were there, my room was never cleaned and the bed sheets were never changed. I complained every single night going back to the room and realizing the beds were a mess and the room was dirty. There were plastic water bottles from water we drank still sitting there. The bathroom was filthy, but towels were changed. That's about it. Complaining the second and third day to the night clerk, she opened the housekeeping book and showed me that the room had been cleaned. I told her to come upstairs to the room and see that it had not been touched. When she opened the door she said "Oh my God". She said she would take it up with housekeeping first thing in the morning and to call and speak to the General Manager, Donna. I tried that many times, but never got a response from Donna or anyone else. Finally, the last night I was there the same clerk said to me that they had finally gotten the room cleaned. I went up to the room, opened the door and thought I was in heaven. My room was finally cleaned. Until I went to lay down in bed and saw that the sheets after the fifth day were not changed. I called the clerk again and told her the room was cleaned but the sheets have not yet been changed. As I walked around the room that last night, I saw a writing pad with a note from housekeeping (I guess she was mad because of the complaints being put in) stating: Guest, if you are caught smoking weed in the hotel you will be fined $250. I found residue left, this is the first and only warning - Housekeeping. I checked out the next morning, I paid with my credit card, got a zero balance receipt, the front desk clerk said she was sorry about everything and that Donna the General Manager would contact me to see what can be done about the charges. After a week, Donna got in touch with me and asked me what my problem is. I explained the situation to her and she said I was a liar and that the room was cleaned every day. She said that I am just pissed off because I got charged $250 for smoking in the room. I told her that I did not get charged $250 because I paid my bill in full and had the final statement. She said, yes you did and hung up on me. After putting in disputes with Best Western and Hotels.com, who told me they couldn't do anything to help this situation, I received the credit card statement that I was charged the $250 after I checked out and left. THE WORST PLACE TO EVERY STAY. THE WORST PERSONNEL TO DEAL WITH. They are a bunch of lying thieves charging people after they have checked out. The rooms are disgusting and filthy. I would not book again from Best Western or Hotels.com

Great location, good breakfast. Everything was fine except the dehumidifier in the air conditioning system did not seem to be working because everything was damp - our clothing and the bedding. If you intend to read from a regular book, take a light bulb because the lights are very dim. Otherwise, everything is great here.

"Nice hotel with wonderful crew"

We were in town for a wedding; and the wedding party had booked rooms at this hotel. The hotel was good for the price; but members of the staff were truly exceptional. All at the 'front desk' were great . . . from the easy check-in, to recommending restaurants in the area, and for accommodating our needs . . . all friendly and very helpful. There was a woman, Cynthia, that helped with the 'free breakfast' each morning . . . she was a joy. She was very friendly each morning; very helpful in every way and friendly in asking about the family wedding we were in town for. Cynthia, and all the front desk, were great faces for Best Western . . . and would make us book this hotel again.

The overall quality of the hotel was adequate, but the beds were either too old, or poor quality to begin with. They had absolutely no support. We would have stayed longer, but checked out early to find a place with comfortable beds.

this hotel was not clean. most of the staff was unfriendly. Seemed very crowded with large families. Location was fine. Breakfast room was chaos (not hotel's fault) and guests were disrespectful: came in from pool dripping wet on tile floors made the worst mess I have ever seen in a breakfast area.

This was a nice clean hotel. The beds were not as comfortable as other Best Westerns but it was a newer hotel in a good, safe area. Lots of neat shops in the general vicinity if you are female. I would stay here again, nice to be away from the crowds in Myrtle Beach.

"Shopping Trip"

From check-in to check-out everyone was great. Mrs. Cynthia, cooks the very best breakfast and is so, so, so sweet. She was a blessing during our 2 night stay. The beds were great and we love the pillows. The only thing that might bother someone was that the toilet would just start running, and then shut off. It didn't matter if it was in use or not. But we just pulled the door closed and it was fine. And the top of the AC need to be wiped off. We were in room #230. But again the friendliness of the staff and comfort of the beds and ease of check-in and check-out out shined anything that was an issue.

"My Experience"

This review is based on my experience during my stay at this hotel. I choose the hotel based on the reviews and hotel pics, etc. I booked my hotel reservation through hotel.com and I opt to pay at the hotel. I had with me a BW gift card which I wanted to use and pay the difference with my credit card. Upon checking, the receptionists stayed I could not use the gift card. She and I called the customer service # on the back and they stayed because I didn't booked the reservation through BW website, they could not accept the gift card. I ended up paying with my card. As we arrived to the room, the smell of the room was pretty strong. The bed was not the best, it had like a "whole" which it felt I was sunk in and woke up worst than when I went to sleep, with a back pain! The hotel is small, small pool - just good to pass 1 nite. The breakfast was simply ok. Upon checking out the Latonya, Mrg. I explained to her what happened to us upon checking in and she really step to the plate and refunded what was originally charge to my card and I was able to use the gift card and pay the difference. She apologize for the inconvenience and did say the BW gift card should have been accepted with no problem. Overall, she resolved the bad tastes I was left of the hotel and was professional. I've stayed at a few BW before and this one definitely did not met my expectations. There's not a lot of places to go or at least that I was able to find. We checked in Friday and mostly all of the places where closed by 9pm. Overall if you have a gift card make sure you can use it before checking in.

"Good value in South Grand Strand"

I was looking for a place to stay while visiting my Mother in PI. The BW Pawleys had what I was looking for good value, clean, free WiFi, and walking distance to a restaurant and grocery store. Nothing special about the breakfast. I would rate it lower than breakfast at comparable BW's or other brands.

Breakfast choices were: cereals, grits, scrambled eggs, sausage patties/links, already made omelets, yogurts, waffle maker,etc. Housekeeping staff is super nice! The pool is a little small but we didn't get a chance to use it during our trip. We weren't far from Myrtle Beach. The only con- the toilet paper is very cheap and thin.

General staff employees were helpful and breakfast was always fresh and plentiful. Desk staff were polite and helpful making check-in and check-out easy and fast. The beds were extremely comfortable. Some noisy and rude guests disturbed everyone's sleep and then retaliated about complaints by pulling fire alarm.

This hotel is conveniently located. It is next to a small strip mall with a great bookstore and Fresh Market for convenient snacks or meals to go. The hotel is clean, the staff courteous and helpful. Full breakfast was free and very good. Only negative comment is that the mattresses in our room need to be replaced - not very comfortable.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The only complaint we have is that the beds were very uncomfortable. With that exception we were very please. Also we stayed the week of Easter and the prices were very affordable. Great continental breakfast with a variety of options.

The property is updated and in a great location. I felt save there and it was fairly quiet. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I would have liked to have more light for reading. The only thing that would have been better would if I could have had my tiny dog with me instead of having to find a place to board her.

We had a great stay in Pawley's this weekend. The hotel is very clean and well-maintained, plus newly updated. The location is perfect! Beds were very comfortable. The only suggestion I have is the availability of more information on the area and things to do and a little more help there. For instance, quickest access to the beach. The hotel and property were nice. The bed was terribly uncomfortable. We stayed for one night. The pool was not yet open for the season. The bathroom was on the smaller side but has shampoo and body wash in the shower. There was a nice breakfast and the staff was very friendly.

We stayed at your motel for 3 days in November 2016. The employees were very friendly. The room was very clean and did not have a problem at all with the bed very comfortable. The only thing I would change would be to get a taller toilet. Us baby boomers knees are not what they use to be The very best aspect was talking to Miss Cynthia, your lady that takes care of the breakfast This lady is the most kindest and sweetest person I have ever met. I was feeling a little down the first morning we were there and after speaking to her after breakfast I left the room with a smile on my face. She is a jewel of a person and a definite asset to your company. I will definitely stay there again.

This is a very nice property! The only problem we had was the shower head was broken. I called the front desk and maintenance had it fixed in no time at all. Our room was clean and spacious. Miss Cynthia,the breakfast hostess is so nice and helpful! She is a true asset to this hotel!! Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping( Amoy and Nellie) were so friendly! We will definetly stay here again and reccomend it to friends.

The 1st time we stayed, the bed was not very comfortable. Prior to my return, I spoke with LaToya, the front desk manager, and she assured me of a comfortable bed for my stay. Upon early arrival the room was clean and ready to go. The staff was very friendly and professional. Requested to leave my motorcycle parked under the entrance awning, and there was no problem in granting that. The next morning there were other motorcycles under the awning as well. When I reported a water leak in the hallway under the carpet, they responded quickly with a safety sign to others would not be inconvenienced in any way. Additional needs were promptly responded to my complete satisfaction. Would I stay here again, sure, and wouldn't think twice.

I don't usually stay in a Best Western, but this experience opens me up to trying the brand again. My room on the second floor (2 floor property) was quiet, very clean, and spacious. The rooms come equipped with a mini fridge and microwave. I had a King room which includes a small sofa end. Large TV and love the channel selections. Bathroom has shampoo and body wash dispensers on the wall with Natura product which was awesome!! When I return to Pawleys Island for business, I will definitely stay here again.

My wife and I stayed at Best Western Pawleys island for one night so that we could do a bit of beach combing. While there was a minor hiccup during the check in, all went well. Room was clean, mattress good. Breakfast, while not wonderful, was certainly decent with a good variety, including some hot items. We stayed on a Tuesday night a couple weeks after Labor Day. Hotel was almost empty. Recommended.

We were impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel, friendly staff, large rooms, complimentary breakfast, and convenient location. This was our first visit to Pawleys Island and we hope to visit again and stay at this Best Western. We stayed in room 211 which had a king size bed with a very comfortable mattress. It was a large room with a sofa bed, which we enjoyed sitting on and watching TV. There was also a desk for sitting and writing our post cards. The room was very clean and maintained throughout our stay. The lobby and parking lot were also very clean and the location was great. The breakfast bar was also good. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Clean, and for price per night it was a great deal. Breakfast foods were typical. Rooms appeared clean. New experience for me with liquid soap and shampoo dispensers in shower at a hotel. Had to search for hair dyer. Front desk staff friendly, albeit the person who checked us in was new. The beds in our room are sorely in need of replacement......super soft and used. Overall, we would stay again for the one night needed.

First of all, the Best Western at Pawleys Island should be called the Worst Western. I am a 54 year old man with asthma and a nebulizer machine. I rented the room for myself and my son who is 17 years old. For the five night stay we were there, my room was never cleaned and the bed sheets were never changed. I complained every single night going back to the room and realizing the beds were a mess and the room was dirty. There were plastic water bottles from water we drank still sitting there. The bathroom was filthy, but towels were changed. That's about it. Complaining the second and third day to the night clerk, she opened the housekeeping book and showed me that the room had been cleaned. I told her to come upstairs to the room and see that it had not been touched. When she opened the door she said "Oh my God". She said she would take it up with housekeeping first thing in the morning and to call and speak to the General Manager, Donna. I tried that many times, but never got a response from Donna or anyone else. Finally, the last night I was there the same clerk said to me that they had finally gotten the room cleaned. I went up to the room, opened the door and thought I was in heaven. My room was finally cleaned. Until I went to lay down in bed and saw that the sheets after the fifth day were not changed. I called the clerk again and told her the room was cleaned but the sheets have not yet been changed. As I walked around the room that last night, I saw a writing pad with a note from housekeeping (I guess she was mad because of the complaints being put in) stating: Guest, if you are caught smoking weed in the hotel you will be fined $250. I found residue left, this is the first and only warning - Housekeeping. I checked out the next morning, I paid with my credit card, got a zero balance receipt, the front desk clerk said she was sorry about everything and that Donna the General Manager would contact me to see what can be done about the charges. After a week, Donna got in touch with me and asked me what my problem is. I explained the situation to her and she said I was a liar and that the room was cleaned every day. She said that I am just pissed off because I got charged $250 for smoking in the room. I told her that I did not get charged $250 because I paid my bill in full and had the final statement. She said, yes you did and hung up on me. After putting in disputes with Best Western and Hotels.com, who told me they couldn't do anything to help this situation, I received the credit card statement that I was charged the $250 after I checked out and left. THE WORST PLACE TO EVERY STAY. THE WORST PERSONNEL TO DEAL WITH. They are a bunch of lying thieves charging people after they have checked out. The rooms are disgusting and filthy. I would not book again from Best Western or Hotels.com

This was oir first visit to Pawleys Island Juanita was great on check in. The hotel was recently remodeled and looks great. Central location right on Rte 17. Price was great for the room, close to food. The room has fridge and microwave. Breakfast was typical, and good service and everyone friendly. Pawley Island is close to Myrtle Beach but not to commercialized.

After reading the Trip Advisor reviews of this hotel, we decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did! We were greeted at the front desk by Juanita who is a real jewel. She was exceptionally friendly and helpful; made us feel more like family than guests - the epitome of southern hospitality! She made great recommendations on where to eat and what to see. The hotel itself is well maintained and clean. Our room and bathroom were very clean and nicely appointed. The breakfast selection was above average and was included in the price of the room. The pool also looked clean and inviting, although we preferred to spend our time at the beach. For the money, you can't beat this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel because of its convenient location for us, since we were helping our daughter move and relocate to this area. It was quiet enough even though it's situated right off of the busy Rt. 17 that goes to Myrtle Beach, and it allowed convenient access to this road. This hotel was very accommodating to our daughter's dietary needs and gave her some gluten-free cereal for breakfast and dairy-free soy milk to eat it with. I wish more hotels would do this!! She gets tired of just eating eggs and fruit. Also, during our stay one side of the toilet seat came detached from the base of the toilet. We let the front desk person know, and by the time we went back to the room in the late evening the problem was fixed. A newer, ceramic toilet seat replaced the loose plastic one. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, allowing for an all-important good night's sleep. Overall, we were very happy with our stay here!

As we arrived we immediately received a fantastic welcome, incl. good recommendations for activities around the hotel. You could immediately feel that the hotel manager really cares about the visitors. This first impression has been supported by the breakfast amenities and the food provided. The rooms are very well equipped and clean. At no time we felt uncomfortable. Obviously the prices at this time of the year are higher - visiting outside of July / Aug provides a good value for money. We really can recommend this hotel to a friend.

We arrived at our hotel 2 hours earlier than check in: the young lady at the front desk went out of her way to find us a room available immediately. She was courteous, professional, and genuinely nice! The young lady that prepared our room for us had to bring us fresh towels when they were ready, and she kept asking if there was anything else she could do for us to make our stay more comfortable. Who cares about people like that anymore? BW does! We will definitely be returning to BW for all of our out of town stays. Thanks again BW!

Henry served two rooms for the week of 4th of July. Upon arrival was able to check into both rooms in under 10 minutes. Rooms were clean and nice and cool. During our week-long stay the only problems encountered were one of the ice machines was out of service and TV remotes. Morning breakfast was average, but did include hot items also. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

If you are staying in Pawleys, this is a very centrally located hotel. Close enough to Georgetown and Myrtle Beach. Excellent upscale food market next door if you plan on buying grocery items to keep in the room or take on a picnic.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a new Best Western Hotel at a good price since it was near the coast. Most hotels jack the price up on the coast. We stayed at an older hotel just down the highway and payed much more our first night and had a bad experience there. I called Best Western on a holiday weekend not expecting to find a vacancy but we got a room for our second night. It was clean, new and the staff handled a mix up in rooms with efficiency and professionalism. We were very pleased and will certainly consider staying here again if ever in the area again.

The hotel appears to have been recently renovated. It is clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. A/C was good without being too loud which I really appreciated! The breakfast was ok. My kids found things to eat, but it all tasted very processed, which I guess it is....so... Internet could have been faster, but it was acceptable. The real high point was the staff! They were really nice, friendly and helpful people. They made the stay excellent in my opinion!

We came here for a wedding and it was a pretty decent hotel. The rooms were clean and pretty up to date. The only issue we had was at check in when our room wasn't blocked under the reservation. The staff was very patient and worked to take care of everything. The breakfast was pretty decent. Lastly, the hotel was located in a good place for site seeing. Not what I expected for a Best Western. They have certainly come a long way.

Outstanding hotel and staff. Clean throughout. The staff are attentive and pleasant. Very good breakfast and excellent pool. Nice location in area south of Myrtle Beach - quieter region but with nearby beach access (less crowded beaches) and many restaurants in the area. Fresh Mart grocery next door is super convenient for fresh, prepared food, snacks, beer and wine, etc. We will stay here again.

This hotel for an excellent value for the location. Hotel in nice shape and clean. Close to plenty of places to eat, area was not crowded like Myrtle Beach, and close to the beaches. We used Huntington Beach State Park to go to the beach. $5/day per person or a weekly pass for $37.50 and was 5 miles from the hotel. Big parking lot, nice bathrooms, covered eating area's, Sand wash off fountains and clean white beaches with life guards. There are free places closer but parking is limited and tight if you have a large vehicle. I would stay here again for a short trip to the beach.

This hotel was very nice -- the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast staff was superb. The rooms are renovated, but could still use a bit more updating, Ours was a little dark, and the carpets need to be really well-cleaned or replaced. The beds were so comfortable, they were new and the mattresses were great! The overall experience was good, was a good value, and breakfast was good.

My 2 friends and I stayed here this past weekend. The girl at the front desk was super nice, and the room was very clean. The pool was clean as well. The free breakfast was also an added plus, there was a lot of variety and it was pretty good. We enjoyed our stay and I'll definitely be back. Thank you!

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good, and staff was very personable. Our only issue is that the beds are too soft for anyone with back problems. My wife and I were both in pain during our stay because there was little support in the mattress.

The hotel staff made this place a truly wonderful place to stay. Their friendly, helpful attitudes provided a pleasant respite from the norm. The rooms were well prersented and decorated and the breakfast was filling, nourishing and had plenty of 'healthy' choices.

Hotel was clean and quiet. Good location. Staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were okay. The carpet in the room and hallway had just been cleaned and we're still damp. However by the next day everything was okay. Breakfast was not good or appealing.

Overall, we would definitely stay here again. The front desk, food service, and housekeeping staff were all outstanding. Very welcoming, courteous, accommodating, etc...all that you would expect from a 4-star hotel. Although the breakfast was good (incl. hot eggs and sausage), such is becoming the norm for $100+/night hotels. The room was average but well kept and very comfortable. Although not on the shore, the hotel location was within walking distance of a nice Italian restaurant and a very quaint, in the woods type, shopping area. I liked the wine boutique which had an eight wine tasting special for only $8.00 and sold beautifully hand-blown wind bottles from Armenia. The wife and I enjoyed our vacation to Pawley's Island and not too far Myrtle Beach.

Donna Bass was very helpful and very informative with making us feel comfortable and offered many places for restaurants to eat. Motel was very clean and the beds were comfy. The lobby was very clean and inviting. The breakfast was ok but felt the area was to small to hold all the people.

I mistakenly thought this property was oceanfront when I booked. Little did I know that there is NO oceanfront hotel in Pawleys Island. But the incredible customer service, cleanliness, and comfort turned my disappointment to thankfulness. Staff couldn't have been more courteous. It was a great place to rest and relax after a day at the beach.

The beds were comfortable, breakfast was excellent, and it's in a great location, only about 5 minutes to the beach. My only complaint is that the pool wasn't working. Hopefully that will be fixed soon!

This hotel under promised and over delivered!! Amazing staff, updated decor and lobby, clean and spacious guest rooms with affordable rates. This Best Western was as nice as a Hilton, I will come back every time when we travel to this area, great location as well !!

Hotel has been completely renovated and looks much better. Rooms are ok. Breakfast not so much. Needs more variety. Standard waffles and cereals. Employees are friendly and helpful. Nice business center.

You will definitely love this location! The entire premise is clean and well maintained. The staff definitely exhibited that Southern Hospitality"! The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was available in the room. The pool is nice. And though this is in Pawleys Island, it's only a hop skip and a jump for the beaches. ENJOY!!!

I booked a room from March 10 through March 14th, to attend my sister-in-law's funeral on March 12th. On Sunday March 13th we had time to relax and left the room at around noon-the "do not disturb" sign happened to fall on the floor and my husband placed it on the handle inside the room. When we returned at around 5:30 pm our room had not been touched, and the only explanation the desk clerk could give us was that the head housekeeper had made a notation that the "do not disturb" sign was on the door. It did not seem to matter how many times we explained that this was not the case, the only thing she could and did do was to bring us fresh towels. This was after having to request fresh towels after the first night. I have not stayed at a Best Western before and in view of the kind of service these employees provided, I do not plan to stay at a Best Western again.

Staff was friendly and the room was very nice. I was surprised by the overall conditions because I was not expecting that with the price I was paying. Great room and great savings. I will definitely plan on going back next year for the golf tournament.

Clean, stylish rooms with pleasant, helpful staff. Breakfast was better than average with oatmeal. Room was spacious and personal hygiene on the better quality side for BW. Only negative was towels weren't very soft. Close to restaurants and stores. Definitely would return.

Stayed overnight on trip from VA to FL. Eric, the check-in clerk was super helpful and friendly and made us feel genuinely welcome. The price was extremely reasonable for a super clean king bed room which was very comfortable. This also included a full breakfast which was not just the usual continental cereal /rolls, but included eggs, sausage, bacon and waffles! Will definitely recommemd to friends/family :)

We have stayed here, three times over the last few years. Good location right next to Resturants and shopping and right beside the Fresh Market. Two mile drive to the beach. Friendly staff and nice breakfast.

Looking for a place to stop while driving south, and seeking to avoid the plastic traps in Myrtle Beach, we decided to check into a neat looking Best Western based on location and timing rather than planning. The hotel is either new or recently renovated (I suspect a recent rebranding and renovation) and as a result was clean and attractive. Room and bed were everything expected, breakfast was a nice perk. Staff was welcoming and considerate, and provided good information on the area. For $80, great value and a good night's sleep.

This place is a tremendous bargain in a great location. General manager and staff were so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The interior of the hotel must have undergone a complete overhaul because everything looked so new and clean. Spotless bathroom full of big, fluffy towels? Check. Soft, king size bed with luxurious linens? Check. The parking is free and well lit. Seriously- it was so good that I stayed an extra night.

This was my first visit to Pawley's Island on Labor Day weekend 2015. We stayed for two nights at the Best Western on the second floor. The hotel was recently remodeled and very aesthetically pleasing. There was some road work done right at the entrance of the hotel on the main road but it did not really interfere with anything. Great location if you want a bargain in Pawley's Island without actually being on the beach. Price was good for the room, close to food and fun. Pool could have been cleaner. The room was nice with fridge and microwave. Breakfast was typical, decent. The service was good, everyone was friendly. Check-in was relatively easy, we could not check-in early but there was plenty to do nearby, shopping and restaurants. Pawley's Island itself is a great alternative if you do not like the commercialization of Myrtle Beach.

Room was very nice, bathrooms clean with all amenities, service was excellent, bed very comfortable. Little bit of home away from home. We could relax whenever we needed a break as the motel was quiet. Staff was very helpful answering any questions promptly and finding requested items.

Everything here is just OK. Room was clean and maintained, location was good for our needs. Buffet breakfast is so-so, but server Cynthia was wonderful. Prior to arrival we called to check on possible road closure - no one answered; it just rang and rang. Some time later, we did get a person after 20 ring-a dings. So, it was no surprise that at check-in no one was there. Eventually, someone was there to assist with check-in and it was fine.

Stayed here based on good reviews and the fact that that the property had been renovated. We typically do not stay at Best Western. The first morning there was no breakfast left at 9, breakfast was supposed to be available until 10. We couldn't find anyone to help us so we left and went out until 1pm. When we returned our room had still not been made up. We called the front desk and we were told that it would be cleaned when they could get there. If we wanted it made up earlier we should have called and requested it. Tonight when we returned from dinner we realized that no shampoo had been left and that a meal was in our microwave from before we had checked in ( 2 days!) disgusting. We have other options here when we need to stay here. Don' t recommend this property.

you can really tell they are putting a lot of work into this place. Every where you turn there is a painter or landscaper or someone cleaning. I don't mean this in a bad way. we were never disturbed by anyone there. they were very courteous.

This hotel has been renovated recently and looks fantastic. The rooms are very clean and made for comfort. The staff has been nothing but friendly and helpful. They have actually gone above and beyond. This is the best all around place I have stayed in around this area. They have an outdoor pool and are located a couple of miles from the beach. They also have affordable rates.

My hotel room was not cleaned before I arrived. There was someone else's hair in the shower There was also a curtain missing in my room and the first night the street light was shinning directly into my room. I was told I would receive a discount for all of this which I never did. Also, when house keeping came to clean the shower, they still left the hair on the wall even when I pointed it out to them. Housekeeping never cleaned my room the other two nights I stayed there, at 7pm I had to go down to the front desk to ask that it be cleaned. To top everything off, you charged my card twice and when I called to get this fixed I was told a manager would call me back. I called 4 times and no one has called me and the front desk receptionist was very rude. The only good thing about my stay was Ms. Cynthia who took care of breakfast. She was amazing and deserves a raise!!!

stayed here for 2 nights with family for a funeral. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. It was also very affordable. Continental breakfast is included and there is a refrigerator and microwave in the room. I would recommend.
